I hadn't heard much of this game before, but it actually looks really impressive and it's coming in a few days, a promising substitute until Dragon Age arrives. Apparently it's in DX9 so it should be fixable:

Eh. That trailer had no substance to it, and the "gameplay trailer" I found contained about 30 seconds of actual gameplay. That doesn't feel like a developer who's confident in their game.

It's getting bad reviews, but I still like the idea of the game myself, and it runs silky smooth. It is also fixable. I spent an hour or so on it to see what might be involved, but I won't be able to finish it for a while (need to complete TESO and AC4 final releases). If anyone cares, here is a teaser:

Seriously, does anyone bother to take reviews seriously anymore? Now gaming is relatively mainstream you rarely see true gamers reviewing games anymore, just journalists. I will make my own judgement...

I didn't care for that either. But I'm happy to see it getting a fix, so others can enjoy it. :)

I take notice of reviews up to a point if they all state roughly the same positives and negatives. I really want to like this game, because I loved Severence: Blade of Darkness, and with the exception of the Dark Souls games not much has come out since that looks nearly as fun.
The trailers really put me off though, if a company chooses not to show much gameplay, just in-engine cinematics, it tells me they aren't fully confident in their product, and the few reviews I watched last night mentioned buggy unfair combat with no interesting NPC's or story, and so far unfortunately I believe them.

I take overal opinion of user reviews seriously and in this case I agree. Game is mediocre at best, got bored very quickly.
As for 3D, its broken. But even if its fixed, stereo effect is just so-so.

I'm a RPG junkie so I'll play it no matter what. I distrust reviews, for example Rise of the Argonauts was a great game for me but it got terrible reviews, while I hated Castlevania and people loved it. To each his own I suppose.
Mike that screenshot looks great, thanks for trying to fix it, and please take all the time you need no worries.

This is only a few hours of work, but makes the games more than playable - I'd rate it good-excellent actually. Known issues are:
- specular reflections on things on the ground. I've not even looked at this yet.
- AO seems a bit off. I've not looked at this yet either.
- Sunrays 'look wrong' but I don't actually think they are.
I will also say that there are not many shaders in the game, so I think this might be game that dumps new shaders as new levels are loaded. If so, people will need to provide me incremental dumps folders to finish it off.
I've played 5 minutes of the game, so clearly will have missed loads of stuff - just report back here.

Thanks Mike, I haven't got the game yet, I'll see if I can find it cheap and try the fix.

Cool, though I think I am going to throw it onto the blog to get some additional visibility. Playing a bit more, I think it's a pretty good fix (the whole game looks like that screenshot in terms of render quality, except the things I mentioned).

Has anyone got this working? I messed up the WIP release on the blog (the dll was called "d3d9_release.dll" instead of "d3d9.dll") but someone renamed the DLL and still says all shadows are messed up, but they are not for me. I checked the shader files and they do not contain installation directory strings which can cause this kind of thing.
