My monitor is stuck in 3d mode with 270 driver
  2 / 2
i get this issue all the time, i turn my computer on and the moniter is in 3d mode, with out playing any games, and turning the moniter off with the button does nothing to remedy this! But if i take the power cable out the back of the moniter and plug it back in, the moniter comes back in normal mode. but i cant be dealing with takeing the power cable out every time i turn on my computer, i too ocasionaly get it after playing a 3d game but thats always been the case but since the driver update its all the time, it would be alright if i could just change the moiter to normal with the menue but you cant, it wont let you! does any one know if this happens with any other 3d moniters or just the benq? im considering buying a different moniter, you would think one made for gamers buy gamers would be dam near perfect!!!

I just wanted to dig out this old thread too, but as I see I'm not alone.

100% BRIGHTNESS-BUG IS GETTING WORSE AND WORSE !!!

With the latest beta v285.38 the problem escalates.

Right after starting Win7 64bit the Monitor turns into 3D-Mode. No full-screen app or 3D-app was started.
With previous drivers it helped starting a *.JPS with the NV-Stereo-Viewer and closing it, but this don't work anymore.

Please Nvidia - thats not funny - doing Office jobs at 100% brightness is nearly not possible. /thumbsdown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
We have waited too long!! The bug is public now more than a year but it gets more worse than better!!! FIX THIS BUG!!!

Screen too bright? If only you had some glasses that filtered out some of that exsess light... I noticed a strange little bug with my Passive LG screen, when the desktop is set at 24Hz and 3DTV Play is enabled, then the screen is stuck in 3D mode, this subsequently buggers by video player which seems unresponsive. I found setting the rez at 60Hz (or disabling 3DTV Play) disables this, and also, wearing a pair of glasses obviously fixes the issue. Are nVidia planning on a 3D desktop UI?

There's an option in the NVIDIA control panel to keep 3D on all the time. Last I checked, it didn't work. Maybe now it does? Have you checked that option, Flint?

I did Zloth, but that's not the problem unfortunately.
I must say that it occurs not with every start/restart. On five starts there is approx. one fine start without full brightness.
Maybe a GPU-Tool like Afterburner triggers the 3D-mode at startup.?!? /unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
But if this would be the problem, why does it happen only with the latest beta?
I have no clue for this behaviour. /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Just wanted to tell that v285.62 seems to work fine. No 100% Brightness on startup. /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Good for you! But are you sure...? As I've written here (forums) several times, in my experience this issue is depending on the game. With some you are "stuck" in 3D, not with others.

I Just tested 'Assassin's Creed' (1), and my monitor definitely does not switch back into 2D with that game. As has been the case from the beginning of my '3D Vision'-usage.
