What OS are you using? I do not have this game, but... You must be in Fullscreen for the option to appear, if you tab out, it resets and must be re-enabled via option/settings. At least this is how it was in the last game. Are you using dx12, did you try dx11? If that error you received was indeed happening using 3D Fix Manager, you could post it in the feedback thread for the app. Also have you tried re-installing the drivers using DDU?

Do you have the typical things disabled if W10? Like the game dvr thingy turned off? And Fullsren optimizations turned off? There's also this for another game that might help
On Windows 10 (v1809) & latest Geforce drivers, 3D doesn't start initially. I have to switch to windowed mode & back to fullscreen mode in the options menu for the 3D to enable. I'm having this issue with other Dx9 & Dx11 games when using Windows 10.
Guys that's really pretty wierd.. can't find explnation to this.. actually when choosing dx12 and uncheck exclusive full screen it gives the ability to choose On option but it makes nvidia driver crash. I can't understand why everything was working perfectly with my 1080 Ti.. I did a clean driver install vai DDU btw. https://imgur.com/2A7B6PG

Dunno, is your CPU, Memory or GPU overclocked? Try stock settings. No idea if it still works, but in the top of your NVCP, there is a help option, in it is debug mode. Debug supposedly sets the GPU to factory default clocks. Might be worth a shot. GL You might read the original thread for the game, I think several people said that dx12 does not work https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1062314/3d-vision/shadow-of-the-tomb-raider/1/
