I feel yer pain, Chopper. I've got a small LAN center at my PC shop (8 PC's and a few Xboxes). All the boxes are mirrored except for box #1 which was updated recently as a prototype. Instead of the 6600GT that everything else is running, it got a GPU upgrade to a 7600GT (well, actually it was gutted and had everything inside replaced, but the 7600GT is the only important thing in this forum).
And nope... my MSI's don't work. Nasty artifacts, random black striping, etc...
Fortunately, the other systems still run fine with the 6600's... but I really want to upgrade those soon. And I simply cannnot (will not) justify the cost difference between 7 7600GT's to 7 7800 or 7900's. The LAN center is too small a part of my business for that one to happen.
Ah well... anyhow, just wanted to chime in. I've tried just about everything as well. I've pulled countless varied drivers from vanilla to souped up sets over at guru. All to no avail.
Hope NV isn't going to hang the curtain on shutter glasses w/ the 7600. /thumbsdown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

What do you think about stereo with 7900 cards? They say they are basically tweaked 7800 cards, but I dunno. I just bought a XPS 1710 laptop with a Go 7900 GS card. I really hope I don´t have to wait half a year til I can use it with my Z800 and Oblivion...

Thanks for the update chopper, let us know when you get a file to share. If I remember correctly it was about 6 months after I had my first 6800 that they had a good stereo driver to support it. I had to use the E-Dem. interlaced driver during that time.

Chopper, can you give us some more info? Did they said what cards it will support? I soon have a Go 7900 GS card. Will it support 7900 cards? Did they say what name/number the new stereo beta will have?
Some good news. I got official word that another stereo beta is in the works.
NVIDIA is aware of the problems I'm having, and they are actively working on a solution.
YAY NVIDIA!
Realistically, it's going to be awhile before I have another file to share - but stereo is still a supported technology.

Chopper

I'm sorry. I don't have further information than what I advised you of.
What I can say is it is still clearly a supported technology, and I think that your video card purchase should work and/or will eventually work if the driver updates continue.
However, I'm not NVIDIA, and I can't speak for them. I think you will be ok.
Curious....did the E-dimensional driver work with KA?
No, the last ED driver I used only supported dx8-9 games, they said at the time that dx 7 support was comming soon. That was 2 years ago so you may want to download the latest and try.

I got a confirmation from NVIDIA that the current drivers are not yet compatible with the 7600GT, and we will have to wait for a future update.
When that update will be....I don't know.
I will attach images to show what I'm getting in stereo mode.
The stereo test and medical test work fine, though - so I'm not sure what's up.
I think the 7600GT is radically different from the other GPUs, otherwise I'd be able to force an earlier driver revision.
If somone has had a similar experience with other video cards, I'm all ears on solutions!
Best wishes,
Chopper

Anyone manage to force an earlier driver revision, making the card work as another model?
Any solutions?

I own an Asus EN7800GT and stereo runs fine with the 78.01 combo.

I'm afraid I'm screwed because the 7600 series is too different from the 7800 series to be driver compatible.
Whenever I go through the installation process, the setup locks up because the model selection is incompatible.
If there is a single 7600 user who can get the older drivers to install, I would be very happy to learn how they did it.
As it stands, and as NVIDIA has confirmed, the previous driver versions are incompatible with the 7600GT.
I really hope NVIDIA hasn't ceased support for stereo. While they haven't indicated this, I'm gravely concerned.
I'm really having trouble getting into my games without the glasses.
Regards,
Chopper

I can't begin to convey how much I've missed my 3D glasses since I got the 7600GT.
My sex life is better, I'm getting more work done, I'm pitching in at home....
NVIDIA! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?!?
Regards,
Chopper

Chopper, can you give us some more info? Did they said what cards it will support? I soon have a Go 7900 GS card. Will it support 7900 cards? Did they say what name/number the new stereo beta will have?

No, the last ED driver I used only supported dx8-9 games, they said at the time that dx 7 support was comming soon. That was 2 years ago so you may want to download the latest and try.
