Sid Meier's Civilizatioin V 3D Vision Crashing Issues
Whenever I try to run Civ 5 with Stereoscopic 3D enabled (if 3D is activated or not) it fails. The game crash occurs when I try to zoom in/out. The following is my setup.
Intel Core i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50 GHz
32.0 GB RAM
64-bit Windows 8
3D Vision 2 glasses
EVGA NVIDIA GTX690
NVIDIA 3D Vision Controller Driver 310.90
NVIDIA 3D Vision Driver 310.90
NVIDIA Graphics Driver 310.90
NVIDIA HD Audio Driver 1.3.18.0
NVIDIA PhysX System Software 9.12.1031
NVIDIA Update 1.11.3
ASUS VG278H monitor
MSI motherboard MS 7751 Bios H.50
The refresh rates available are also incompatible for my monitor that Civ 5 in DX 10-11 mode lists (ie my monitor's native mode is 1920x1080 120hz but civ 5 only lists 1920x1080 119hz). If I switch back to DX 9 version the game is playable and I can even use 3D Vision. If I disable stereoscopic 3D the game seems to run fine in DX 10-11 mode.
If other people are having this same problem, perhaps it should be taken off the list of games that are 3D Vision Enabled as it seems to be entirely incompatible. If someone has an idea of what may be wrong let me know. I have reset all NVIDIA settings to recommended, used the default game settings, and all sorts of other combinations of settings. All fail with stereoscopic 3D on (although with all settings I could disable/minimize for the individual program I succeeded in running a game where I successfully zoomed all the way in, but crashed when I tried to zoom back out. Thanks in advance if anyone has suggestions.

Try to see if you can force 120hz with this. Not sure if issue is tied to 120herz though. I dont think game hugely benefits from DX11 though. I think the major is AA but you can probably force it higher with inspector. Can also do two different presets for story scenes with this

Just an option though since it will only work in dx9
I originally thought it was a non-sli issue but I remember the person I was working with got it fixed for himself.
