3DTV play with samsung ps50c7705
  1 / 2
Hello

I'm considering buying this 3dtv:http://www.flatpanelshd.com/review.php?subaction=showfull&id=1283773778

I don't see this on the official nvidia list of supported 3dtvs for 3dtv play. But i have also read on the homepage that the only thing it needs to work is a HDMI 1.4. And this TV have one HDMI 1.4.

So my question is will this tv work with 3DTV play?

Thanks in advance

EDIT: It is called PN50C8000 is the US.

It's pretty much guaranteed that it will at least eventually work properly, almost certainly upon it's final release, as you say, the ultimate requirement is hdmi 1.4, which it has, however, only some people are able to get it to work successfully at this time in the beta version. They may have to tweak the driver(s) slightly. It's pretty likely you'll be able to get 3d blu-rays to work, however.

Get the LCD version - it works with 3D Play right now, and the color pops waaaaay more than the plasmas do when the glasses are on. Ghosting/cross talk is the same on both.

I've owned both the Plasma and LCD - no contest IMO.

Come on, ghosting and crosstalk is the same in Plasma and LED 3D TV's???? Are you nuts??? The difference is huge, Plasma holds the edge for 3D at the moment. No doubt about that.

Sorry - not nuts. I had both TVs (purchased both and tested both) and I could see no difference in crosstalk. The biggest issue was that the Plasma was SO dark with glasses on, it was almost pointless. I have no idea why anyone would pick the Samsung Plasma over the LCD for 3D. Oh, and the Samsung Plasma doesn't even work with 3DTV Play right now. Perhaps you should stay on topic instead of going into a Plasma fanboy rant.

3D Bluray worked straight out of the box with v260.99 drivers. That edid override didnt help this issue.
PowerDVD 10 build 2113. Geforce GTX 260. DVI-HDMI adapter from gfx card alone in port2 to TV HDMI1 port. Win7 64bit. Original monitor driver, no edid override driver.

Borrowed the 3D emitteri now. 3D Vision 3DTV Play worked with that EDID override. Nice work Beeradg!
