1709 creators fall update serious ghosting issues
Hi, everything was perfect with 1703 and 384.94 driver on BOTH my 3d monitors, ASUS PG278Q and VG248QE. I'v updated windows to 1709 and drivers to 188.31, now both my monitors has ghosting, on the PG278Q is less problematic but is not "near perfect" like before. The VG248QE instead has serious ghosting problems all around the panel. I've tried deleting, reinstall drivers, also tried older one (version prior 387 doesn't even install), tried clean install with DDU, no way, this 1709 update has broken something. anyone else ? anyone with a workaround ? i think i'll wait some feedback and then i'll format and go back to 1703 (revert to previous build doesn't work unfortunately) check your monitor and ghosting, i'm sure is a common problem but most people still have to realize that.

Thought it was just me .. yes same issue. Ghosting much worse on VG248QE after CFU. Very annoying.

Not sure if this matters or not but it is something I noticed, at least on my projector. The Windows 10 CFU brought 12 bit color depth with it by default (if you are using the default color settings in the driver settings that is). I am not sure if my 3D vision monitor has that capability or not but I can certainly look and post back. Anyway, maybe try putting the color settings back to NVidia and selecting 8bit just to test it. That setting is located under the change resolution option in the NVidia CPanel. It is possible that the wide color range is causing more contrast and therefore more ghosting...

I heate to read things like this. I'm about to build a new setup and will be forced to install Windows 10 and I'm afraid I will face some problem I don't have currently on Win7. OTOH so many have moved to 10 so I have hope the transition will be smooth.

I found using the program colour sustainer and forcing a colour profile for my monitor seemed to reduce ghosting a bit. Still not as good as before. Frankly I've had enough of windows 10 updates screwing things up. I'm seriously considering sticking a windows 7 partition on my ssd now.

I think I'll install windows 7 for gaming now. I'm just sick and tired of windows 10 screwing things up. I have no confidence in microsoft these days - they just seem obsessed with adding more useless features and not fixing the underlying problems with the OS. Do I want Cortana, Edge, xbox apps, mixed reality, spyware - nope. I just want something that works for gaming. Now I can't update drivers, and I have crosstalk on 3d. I can't even try a different driver, or 3d gets disabled and I have to restore the entire OS from a backup. Windows 10 is useless. By contrast everything else I do except gaming is on linux mint which is great.

And where do you report such issues to Microsoft? If they only get one report they won't care much. I'm close to having all parts for a new setup and will be forced to use Win10 for the first time and I don't like reading such issues.

guys the problem was the monitor, yesterday all text on the right side of the monitor is blurry, so defective 3dvision was only an anticipation of a much bigger problem. i got also vertical lines in 3d that i didn't have before, plenty of people has those vertical lines with this model with 3d, i didn't have that problem before. i'm going to rma the monitor. about the vg248qe once i made it primary is perfect as usual, so 1709 is not the issue,it was just a coincidence. best
