Performance hit with 3d enabled but not runnig ??driver bug
Can anyone explain why I get a performance hit when 3d is enabled in nvidia control panel but 3d is not actually active?

3D Mark 06 - 1. with 3d disabled in control panel = 19303
2. with 3d enabled but not running = 16813
3. with 3d enabled and running = 14001

I expect the loss with 3d running but can't explain 1 vs 2 , and dont want to have to bother with the control panel every time rather than just using the KB shortcut.

Not sure why the performance hit, but I'm not sure if it's a bug or just the way it works. when the 3d is enabled in nvida control panel butn ot active it still runs the frames thru the s3d drivers/software not sure why, allthough it doesn't render the 2 images, a note also it appears that the max fps you can get out of it with the s3d enabled but not active is 120fps.

That's from personal experience.

I think it works the same as the iz3d driver. When stereo is enabled (but turned off) it's simply like having stereo enabled and separation set to 0. Stereo is still active and therefore you have a performance hit even when stereo is turned off. Simply turn off stereo with that game if you want to play with higher fps (or put the application in the exceptionlist if you're using iz3d driver. ;) )
