Leap of Fate
Leap of Fate is a cool game I think you all would enjoy if you like visceral isometric fast paced action cyberpunk type games. 3D Hub profile works but the main issue is the much needed target reticule disappears. Other than this it looks really good in 3D. Anyway I thought I would throw it out here in case any of our talented Helix gentlemen might be interested in having a look. I think you all would really like the game as its even good w/o 3D

I worked on this one quite some time ago. Can't remember the details, but I remember it was a big pain in the ass (largely due to it being a DX9 game, and having to use Helixmod instead of 3DMigoto). I made good progress, I think I had the entire first chapter fixed, but when I saw I had a ton more work to do in the 2nd or 3rd chapter I decided it was just too fricking annoying and not worth bothering anymore.

First issue is the reticule is at the wrong depth.. which I assume might be an easy fix (?)... its fine as long as you don't touch the convergence.... if you increase convergence the reticule splits apart. And then the only other issue I am seeing w/ the 3D HUb profile is when you get hit in combat (a few times per level) everything is falling out of depth or the settings are changing I cant tell which.... seems like maybe a post process effect. Other than that Ryan if you have any further interest maybe try out that 3D Hub profile.. as it seems everything else is perfect aside from these two things> I of course could be wrong as I my knowledge is limited.

Yes, I did use the 3D-hub profile to get 3D to kick in the first place. Again, I'm fuzzy on the details, but your explanation partially jogs my memory. Usually in games like these the mouse cursor is in 2D/at screen depth, so it's normally possible to just increase convergence until the reticle is aligned with everything. In this case, I think what I did was subtract the stereo value from the reticle cursor, making it 2D/at screen depth, which allowed to align it using the technique I just described, but at some point in that caused other things to start breaking, and that's when I decided it was too much bother to then start trying to figure things out further. Another issue is that this game was using old shader model 2, which would require the shaders to be converted to model 3, which just added another element of complexity and hassle. Anyways, here's the fix I did for the reticle. You can try it out and see for yourself. Just rename the file to remove the .jpg and extract it to the folder with the .exe.

Leap of Fate 80% off on Steam now... only $3.99. In case anyone is interested in fixing... even if not I recommend it... (16 hours on it and I still occasionally play)

Any possible way to apply the fix you made for Leap of Fate to Forced Showdown? FS won't go into exclusive fullscreen but Leap of Fate does allow 3DV to kick in windowed mode. I've applied the 3D Hub player profile to F.S. but still no dice. Any ideas?
