The author of the article has a point. His scientific data for the most part is absolutely correct, and I sort of experience it after taking the shutter glasses off, but everything returns to normal after a minute or so.

He is speculating on long-term effects with children. No one really knows, but I guess we're all going to find out.

Yeah, 3d Vision Discover doesn't really do 3D Vision any justice. It is hard to get our eyes to focus correctly through the cheap glasses and they ruin the color so much it really isnt a good sample.

Well I have one week playing in 3d, and I have to say that it only causes me headaches when putting more depth and sitting 3 feet or less from the monitor, also when playing more than 4 hours, I use it moderately

Your eyes will get stronger and you will have less and less issue with it. I started that way years ago too, but nowadays I can play for ten hours at a time without getting strained.

It just takes adjustment. I started with the depth on minimum and when it is comfortable I turn it up just a few notches and when thats comfortable a few more ... now in most games I am playing at around 50% depth which I find perfect as any more depth seems to be too deep an unrealistic ... and I can play for as long as I want no problems. I only had my kit for 2 weeks.

Adjustment times for people vary of course but any eyestrain and or headaches should eventually go away.

It's true, and then eventually even 100% depth isn't enough. B)

In most games anything above 50% depth starts looking like i am playing in a tunnel. You have to realize that the brain only uses stereo vision as a part of seeing 3d objects. after a certain distance it doesn't matter anymore. And at a certain angle the 3d is a waste especially in the peripheral vision (that's why I think 3d Surround is a waste of money, nice idea but come on...... how often are you going to be turning your head looking at the side screens to get the full 3d vision)

It probably has a lot to do with how the convergence is set up (I like to have 100% depth and a little bit of pop-out at the same time), or it could just be that I see stereo differently, I don't know. However, 50% is way too shallow for me. I was a bit upset that nV locked out the ability to hack and allow depths beyond 100%. I don't see the point in them doing that, but they succeeded in locking it out hard. I still haven't come up with a workaround yet for 1.20.

I remember there being a screen size adjustment in the registry. Did you try changing that?

Yes, that had been long since locked out by nV. I then used a brute force method to force the setting using a batch file, but they locked that out too. So, for whatever reason, I am simply not allowed to have my depth any higher. /verymad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':verymad:' />

They also won't answer me as to why they are being so draconian about controlling my 3d experience.
