Black screen when enabling 3D Vision GPU seems to "hang" when 3D tries to kick-in
Folks, if you'd be so kind, I need some help regarding an Nvidia GTX280 and a Panasonic Viera V30 TV.
If I'm not mistaken, my TV is supposed to "just work" with Nvidia graphics cards - that's one of the reasons I chose it, since Panasonic now "officially supports Nvidia/3D vision". For the life of me, I cannot enable it.
I have the latest version of Nvidia drivers (175.something), I have tried connecting the card with 2 different DVI-to-HDMI adaptors (and 3 different HDMI cables on them), as well as a "direct" DVI-to-HDMI cable. Nothing works. With 3 out of four cables the PC displays 2D alright (with one of them, nothing). When I try to enable 3D, through the driver settings (either through the Enable 3D option or through the 3D Wizard) my screen blanks out and nothing shows on screen.
Now, I normally use my PC on two "normal" (non-3D) monitors. When I enable 3D on them as well (just for the heck of it - I thought "some kind of error would be displayed") there happens the exact same thing: blank screen. Looks like whenever I enable 3D, the GPU just shuts off. The PC seems to go on working (HD LEDs blinking).
Frustrated with my GPU, I borrowed another one from a friend - a 560, but I don't remember if it was GT, GTX or whatever. It was "newer than mine and totally, fully supports 3D", at least, according to its specs. Nada. Same thing. Blank screen. On ALL my monitors. Is the PC connected only to my Plasma 3DTV? Blank screen. Is it connected to both my 3DTV and one of my monitors? Blank Screen. Is it connected ONLY to my monitors, or to one of them? Blank screen. Did I try a different GPU? Blank screen.
Whenever 3D is turned on, blank screen. So, can anyone help out before I pull out the rest of my hair, while banging my head on the wall? It ain't easy doing both at the same time - I'm hitting my hands here as well! Please, help out a bit!
