I buy Samsung displays because they are the best displays. I buy nVidia cards because they are the best cards. So why the HECK can't I get 3D working on my Samsung SA700 Monitor with my GeForce GTX 560 Ti... with either the Samsung glasses or a 3D Vision kit?
Whose fault is this... nVidia's or Samsung's? I'm not even sure who to be upset at. I saw the industrious community started working on ways to make it work (proving it can be done), and then nVidia released driver updates that stopped it? Seriously?! I've never seen someone work so hard to make their product WORSE.
PM me if anyone has up to date info.

I haven't tried, but the new drivers are supposed to support generic crt again.
I'd love to see Samsung and Nvidia collaberate on a 3D Vision supported display line. I love Samsung products and bought a S23A700D myself, great monitor.

Does that mean you can now get it to work?
(Forget them collaborating to create a supported line... they should just open up support for all existing lines! I don't understand how they can't see they're hurting BOTH of their sales... some Samsung owners will flock to AMD and nVidia owners will need to look at other sub-par monitors. 3D sales across the market are down because of consistency issues and confusion like this. If they really want to help increase adoption of their own 3D technologies, they'll make the entire 3D market better and more open in the first place.)

Well that is exactly why I went with a 7970 instead of a 680. I gotta say, I'm quite pleased with the 7970 and its performance. I had always bought Nvidia GPUs before and now I'm sure that my future GPU/phone/console/etc.. purchasing decisions will not be based off of loyalty to a certain company.

CRT mode is definitely there. I've only seen it available in the control panel when my screens kind of got stuck in 3d mode after running a game and I wouldn't need to use it anyway, as my screens are certified.
I'm surprised no-one has tried CRT mode with an EDID file, as that was the way to get things working on R296 and below.
Maybe people are using it but are afraid to comment in case Nvidia remove it again?

GTX 1070 SLI, I7-6700k ~ 4.4Ghz, 3x BenQ XL2420T, BenQ TK800, LG 55EG960V (3D OLED), Samsung 850 EVO SSD, Crucial M4 SSD, 3D vision kit, Xpand x104 glasses, Corsair HX1000i, Win 10 pro 64/Win 7 64https://www.3dmark.com/fs/9529310
The problem is that some of these guys do not have a 3D Vision emitter and do not want to buy one.
Their loss imo, you gotta pay to play. It's too bad Nvidia doesn't sell the emitter seperately, but they can buy them on ebay.
I haven't bothered trying mine again, I mostly use my PJ and also Ihave a GD235HZ. The 700 is used with my Radeopn PC. I do have a VGA cord with the id pins removed and would give it a go with the PJ, but the driver I'm using currently has been very stable, so I'll pass atm.

I don't have nVidia 3dvision emitter/glasses right now, only what came with Samsung. However, if I knew it would work, I would buy the 3dvision ones.
Could someone PM me a link with more info on how to get this working?
D-man, I hadn't thought of that. A lot of people were probably using the emulator before.
I used to use CRT mode for my projector for functional reasons, even though it is officially supported.
It would help it Nvidia weren't so silent on the issue, as if CRT mode is here to stay, then it does allow people to use pretty much any 120Hz display they want.
Like you say, they need to buy an emitter really.
