Getting error when using displayport to DVI adapter on Samsung 2233RZ
So I bought a 1080ti that doesn't have a DVI port only hdmi and DP ports, the card came with a DP to DVI adapter but it's not working on the Samsung 2233RZ. During the 3d vision wizard the USB 3d vision dongle activates, it recognises the monitor as a 3d vision 120hz LCD monitor, but then it shows the message "warning attempt to run stereoscopic 3d in non stereo display mode". It worked just fine with my old 1070 and direct DVI to DVI connection. In the resolution menu i can't select a 120hz resolution, and making a custom resolution at 120hz doesn't work.
I really don't know what to do, any help?

Good news I think ... because the new RTX come with a Display port to DVI adapter for old monitors. That means we can continue enjoying our games on NVIDIA 3D VISION, right?
If anything like previous gen GPUs that included that adapter, it will be a passive version for single link DVI transmission.
Older 3D Vision monitors required a "Dual Link DVI" connection that "need" an "active" adapter.
These active adapters require additional power for the conversion, this has always been supplied by using an additional attached USB cable. This was due to early limits of the power available via Display port. These adapters cost about $100.

Newer iterations of Display port have additional power available and thus can power an adapter without needing the additional USB cable. Last I checked, there were not any single connections available with a 330MHz bandwidth available. But I have not checked since last year.
Note: If you find that there is not a viable single connection adapter available, be sure to look for threads of known good adapters, many have drop out issues and/or other problems.
You need an Active Adapter with at least 330MHZ of bandwidth.
