@Nvidia:

I am going to buy a new Geforce 8800GTX or 8800GT graphics card as soon as new stereo drivers are released.

That's a promise, no sarcasm.

Everybody else who plans to do that, please post here. No discussion, please, only promises to buy Nvidia products. Let's show that there's money waiting to be spent!

Yes, I'll buy any card that supports 3D.

I - as many others - am waiting for 3D Stereo support for the 8800 cards for over a year now (sticking with my good old 7800 GTX).

I will order a 8800 (8900?) card the same day NVidia does release a working stereo driver. Though I'm not sure they deserve our money for letting us wait this long :(...

I don´t explain mysefl how stereo3d is not more important in the whole gamers comunity. All people I said unknew what stereo3d was. I think only is needed a more stable and more consistent stereo driver support, solving HUD´s and postprocessing compatibilities. Stereo3D rocks... I do not need to play with Oblivion, I only need to walk and see. This is the reason because I have a Nvidia card, and surelly I´ll buy another in the future because the same reason (if Nvidia continues giving us drivers, of course).

Bought an 8800GTX november last year. /haha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':haha:' /> .. Threw it out of the computer and replaced it with a 7900GT. However i do have hope for the future. I can run the 8800 with the iz3d drivers but since i also play a lot on my beamer rig the 7900 remains in place with the nvidia drivers.
Accepted the fact that i bought the card in the total wrong time regarding stereo and patiently awaits stereodrivers for these cards. In a matter of fact the whole computer was wrong at the time: a c2d-e6600 which i had to run on one core only until recently, an 8800GTX... /haha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':haha:' /> . There has been improvements on the new stereodrivers: You have an osd that displays separation when adjusting. With the newer drivers you don't have to shut down one core (well, most times not) so to me it indicates there's still work in progress for stereo.

cheers

I will buy as soon as nvidia lets me- I have never worked so hard to give a company money before- we may never know what the heck they were thinking.

I bought an Nvidia Quadro FX 570 and one FX 1700.
Now I had to learn that quadbuffered Stereo is no longer supported via DDC glasses under Linux (Option "Stereo" "1"). That is very disappointing.
I will try out the ATI offerings.

I would buy a 8800 and a multi-core cpu as well.
It´s a shame that i have to stay with old slow hardware.

Put my name down too, the racing simulations i play are perfect for 3d stereo, and they run adequately on my 6800gt. Id love to see some 3d drivers out for the 8800.
