Why still hasn't Nvidia listed Samsung 3d Ready DLP as a Compatable display? Let's make a po

Nvidia still Hasn't listed Samsung as a compatable 3d Ready display. Even though there display could be the best for 3d gaming as well as the best screen for watching movies. I know that Nvidia and Mitsubishi are holding hands together to try and sell each other. Which is great, but they could also at least state that Samsung DLP 3d Ready displays are compatable, because they are!!!!!

I believe that if Nvidia will start to state that Samsung DLP 3d Ready T.V.'s are "Officially supported", then they will sell more units making it to where this technology will not fail.

I think we should make a poll to see which Compatable display is being used the most for 3d Vision

Just put down which one you are using and that's all

M = Mitsubishi 3d Ready DLP
S DLP = Samsung DLP
S LCD = Samsung LCD
V= ViewSonic LCD
CRT = CRT
P = Projector

Samsung DLP here too!

I don't want to sing about how great this TV is for S3D games and blue ray/ HD stuff but really Nvidia should give the Samsung line some prop.

Oh cool I have a question for both of you! Does the Samsung DLP give ghosting with white areas in a game, like this 2233rz monitor does? A lot of games with high amounts of HDR and white surfaces, like DMC4, have horrid amounts of ghosting and I've read here that it's more than likely because of the monitor. Do 3D DLPs do this or are they ghost-free at 100% separation?

Some of the ghosting is definitely caused by the glasses, not the display. If you hold down the power button on the glasses, it will normally make one lens hold in a "closed" position. Notice that light still gets through particularly if the monitor is displaying a lot of white. This is because it is near impossible to totally blank out one eye. This leakage of light is what leads to ghosting as your left eye will see something meant for your right eye etc. Turning the brightness down on the monitor will probably help to some extent as once this leakage level drops off to a certain extent your brain won't tune into it as much.

The DLP is probably not as bright as the monitor, so you may hear reports that they cannot see any ghosting. I have my Samsung 2233RZ calibrated down to 140cd/m2 which I still find adequate for 3D and I rarely see any ghosting at all. But the default brightness is too high.

This is exactly what i thought when i first got the glasses.
In the middle of the glasses its most dark, so when you turn your
head left/right the ghosting gets wors beacause it less dark in de corners
of the glasses.
This is something we need to live with before we have a 3d tv without glasses
at home.(won`t take long though)

I live in holland and just ordered a mitsubishi DLP from the US.
Still have to wait 5 more weeks for the boat to arrive. (that sucks)

I used mine on a samsung 3d dlp and it worked just fine.

Samsung DLP should definitely be on the list. I have it and it's magnificent. Just running the test alone shows how good this TV works in 3D. I can stand 20 ft back and that eye comes out of my TV at least 10-15 ft. Just recently played Serious Sam 2 and that game is unbelievably amazing. :magic:

Ah I see, that makes sense. I was thinking the glasses might play a part because I noticed the ghosting gets worse if I turn my head and figured there wasn't as much liquid crystal in the outer areas.

I hate to bother but could you please tell me how to change the brightness to that rating? In 3D, the 2233rz locks the brightness at 100 and I can't seem to change it no matter what I try. It also doesn't display the brightness in cd/m2 so I'm guessing you changed it using a different method than the monitor's menu. I tried a few google terms but that didn't turn out well =/

Ah I see, that makes sense. I was thinking the glasses might play a part because I noticed the ghosting gets worse if I turn my head and figured there wasn't as much liquid crystal in the outer areas.

I can guess Nvidia and Mitsubishi have signed a contract that excludes other DLP makers from being listed in the support list.

Go To Amazon.com and search for the Samsung HL61A750 and you will find it!!

And Yes, The LED backlit display is much much clearer and better than a standard Lamp Projection screen, you get more colors and a longer life out of the display

After seeing how spectacular the Sammy LED DLP we bought is my wife wanted us to get another one for the house but it was too late: the inventory has run out and Samsung isn't making any more of these phenomenal DLP TV. The LED based DLP TVs are definitely better than the lamp based in several ways and it's just too bad for the S3D gamers that they are no longer available.

Actually you pointed out something really interesting here! I calibrated the monitor during normal display using a hardware puck device (the i1 display 2).

Now as you point out the brightness is locked to 100 when you go into 3D mode. BUT, that brightness is definitely NOT 100% brightness as compared to 100% when not in 3D. So is it going to a preset level, or is it just displaying the wrong values when in 3D mode? From what I can see the brightness is no different when I change from 2D to 3D, so I think its just displaying the wrong numbers.

If you lower it in 2D, do you not find it lower it in 3D too?
