Geforce 1080Ti with 3D HDTV
I will soon buy an GTX 1080Ti (primarily for VR), but I also have an 3D TV (1080p passive TV from LG) and I wondering if this pair will work with nvidia 3dhd, since 3D on television is sadly quite dead. Will 3DHD drivers interfere with Oculus Rift? did somebody already tested this combination.

For a 1080p passive TV, you can use the original guidelines (for example, see http://afriendlyfox.com/2013/02/04/massively-improved-nvidia-3d-vision-on-passive-3dtvs-edid-override/, except use 3DVisionEye Swapper app, rather than making any Registry changes. With a 1080Ti, you can handle a LG 55E6 or 55C6 (OLED 4K 3D - highly recommended). You may want to consider getting one of these before they completely disappear from anyone's stock (no one is making 3D TVs, now). This topic has been discussed much in this forum - for example, see https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1018948/3d-vision/3dtv-play-restrictions/. I have Rift, Vive, and PSVR - but I still primarily use my 55E6 and 3D Vision (and great helixmod.blogspot library) for most of my gaming... For best performance, I suggest simply disabling 3D via NVIDIA Control Panel, prior to HMD gaming. I have had no problems with driver conflicts.

Just one small note on whyme466's post - I used to use 3SVisionEye Swapper with an EDID override for a passive display but now find that Advanced3dVConfig http://helixmod.blogspot.com.au/2015/10/advanced-3d-vision-configuration.html is a much better combination with an EDID override - you can set screen size and everything all in a simple GUI.
