Dont even waste your time with even the best 120hz CRT monitors
I had my old 21" IBM p275 CRT monitor (one of the best Sony Trinitron based units) collecting dust for years in my basement so I decided to purchase the 3D vision kit since Ive seen people claiming you can use these high-end CRT monitors. Well after a few days I have to say it SUCKS. Dont even waste your time with CRT monitors. The 3D effect is there but its just awful to look at compared to 3D LCD monitors or 3D TVs. I watched a small part of Avatar 3D bluray on the CRT and its nothing like the 3D I saw in theaters. The 3D looks really very crude on a CRT compared to a theaters 3D. Complete waste of time. Also the scanning of CRTs causes major eye strain even at 120hz. I went ahead and purchased an Acer H5360 3D 720p projector. Really looking forward to watching Avatar in 3D again.

Unfortunately true. I had a 24 inch widescreen Silicon Graphics CRT at 120z 1280x800, and 3d was too ghosty to be fun in most games.

Except Painkiller. Painkiller was insane.
