Once upon a time there was a monitormanufacturer named Lucky Goldstar, and he has made monitors (W2363D) which where compatible to an system of a other company. Which is named Nvidia.
Then LG made a new model of his monitor (D2342P) and said this model is all better, look here and look there.
And there was a little customer (me), who was a little concerned about the compatibility, so he called and asked LG who said "yeah, there is no problem it works with nvidia 3D". So the customer bought the new model.

But insted of many many many games (which I had before with ND 3D discovery) and I now only have a few (it actually reconise only 2 of them) in a crappy 3D and the 3D calculation (done by recalculating the generated 2D to 3D) really slows down the game (this 3D programm is from a other company).
In NV 3D I only can setup to native 3D over the HDMI 1.4 spec, but this is only possible on crappy resolution (1080p/24Hz or 720p/60Hz) and what is more worse it also messes up the grafic, displaced and it display things wich normaly wherend displayed (e.g. texture cache).
otherwise I have to use an other conector and can use (other methods are not possible to use while using HDMI) anaglyph again...
To sum it up:

Monitor W2363D:

works well with NV 3D Vision

needs an NV 3D Vision kit as upgrade

Monitor D2342P:

NV 3D has serious issues on displaying 3D

needs the ~30€ expensive extra software NV-3DTV PLAY

only supports "not so good" resolution

the worst thing: 3D support over HDMI is broken on drivers 280 and higher.
(you can even not complete the setup, is ends with an error after choosing the 3D method, on driver 275 there isnt a problem at that point)

All I would need is that

on a HDMI conection is possible to use the regular options.

an option for monitors who use the polarisation method.
since ther is allready anaglyph build in, it only costs a few hundert (new) lines of code.
there is a point where the program has calculated 2 Pictures (one for each eye) instead of changig the colors, it only has to discard the each 2nd line (pair on one, and unpair on the other) of the pictures before combinig them. (and maybe to exchange the rows so that they match with the monitor, and the other posible layouts for 3d filter [checkerboard and cols] )
Even youtube has it implemented.
I am angry. Now I have a "native 3D" device, but almost no 3D.
I wanted to use it for gaming... and for Avatar 3D (as soon as it is availible as unbundled version ... yeah is crappy **** that you have to buy a phillips 3D home cinema system to get one copy of Avatar 3D... and worst: its sold out, too [only Avatar, not the system])
So in my eyes everything, except for 3D gaming, is a nice addon but not a must have reason... and 3 gaming dosen`t work.
If the LG support or the Nvidia support doesn`t solve it in a short time, I`ll have to send it back. and wait a little... until 3D on PC has matured.

It's a shame that 3D Vision doesn't support polarised monitors yet, I mean, if your monitor supports a 120hz input (through dual link DVI), maybe it'll be added to the compatibility list at some point.
You might want to look into the rollermod checkerboard hack, I don't know much about it (since I have active glasses), but from what I understand, it may be of interest to you.

Sync Input Horizontal Frequency 30 kHz to 83 kHz (Automatic)

I'm pretty sure this monitor will not take a 120Hz signal, above are the signal input specifications from page 19 of the owner's manual. http://www.lg.com/sg/support/product/support-product-profile.jsp?customerModelCode=D2342P-PN&matchedModelCode=NOT_MATCHED&searchEngineModelCode=D2342P-PN&initialTab=documents&targetPage=support-product-profile#
