Temporary workaround solution for Viewsonic PJD6531w and 3D Vision
For owners of the Viewsonic PJD6531w and NVIDIA 3D Vision running into problems setting up 3D mode using the 3D Vision wizard, we have published a temporary workaround until a fix is made available (ETA next driver update). The following knowledgebase article will provide step by step directions for configuring the Viewsonic PJD6531w with the NVIDIA 3D Vision glasses:

http://nvidia.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/nvidia....hp?p_faqid=2653

The cause of the bug is that our software is choosing the optimal mode reported by the projector which in case of the Viewsonic PJD6531w is 1280x800. However, the projector needs to run at 1280x720@120Hz and thus the wizard will report an error. We hope to have a fix by the next 3D Vision driver update.

You know, I just purchased this projector because YOUR WEBSITE lists it as compatible. You also said a patch was coming last week that fixes your incorrectly stated compatibility.

And Now this? Ive heard some pretty rough comments regarding Nvivias customer service and I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt. I'm not wealthy and I recently ran out, dropped 1400$ on a setup based on your site's statement my PJD6532w was compatiible. Is this "Mickey mouse" workaround limiting me in any way? I know your just doing your job but try and understand where I'm coming from. Should I return this projector prior to my 30 day return policy at Fry's expires?

Thanks.

I apologize that this was not properly caught in our QA process. Usually the optimal screen resolution is also the screen resolution which you will run in 3D mode when using a 3D stereo product. Once 3D is enabled, this projector is indeed a great projector. This bug should not occur again in the future.
