3d Vision and SLI not working correctly for ASUS rog swift pg278q.

@Chevagara
I don't think you can use SLI then :( The monitors must be connected to the same graphics card in order to use SLI.
on topic:
The WHQL version of the 347.09 is exactly the same as the beta, isn't it?
I guess this won't be a happy christmas for us =(
I was going to get one. think i'll wait for the freesync monitors coming out soon.
A universal standard that will work as advertised!
Unlike a lot of nvidias technologies seem to be at the moment!
We have 3D bluray working now but I have to restart my PC 8 times and unplug my 4k display port monitor (jump through random hoops) to get my panasonic projector to display or even be recognised by my 690 gtx gfx card!
Go Nvidia!
Not that I have much incentive to upgrade my gfx card either as 3DTV Play only supports 720p gaming!
Nvidia can't be bothered to delete the software 720p limit for 4k 3D HDMI 2.0 enabled TV's!
I'm sure 'the way it's meant to be played' isn't at 8x lower than my screens native resolution! LMAO
I'll just keep my 690 for 3D vision gaming and go AMD and save a bundle and have open universal standards that work as they should!
Think how much money they would make if they actually got on top of their game! They don't do badly as it is but wow....any chance we can get all your technologies actually working at the same time nvidia?
Not this year eh?
Still waiting for the 8GB gfx cards that cost less than a grand.
They can't be bothered upping the memory bus and sticking an extra 4gb on their cards either! Unlike AMD of course with their new 8gb cards.
Come on Nvidia we are waiting for the full fat cards not the crippled chicken feeding money milking cards!
Yea I completely gave on on 3dvision for my DLP projector, I do 3d blurays via ps3 now. There is actually a fairly decent collection of 3d games for ps3 also :) As for 4k 3d content, is there such a disk for movies or is it upscale only?

MGR Revengeance is perfect in 3D, thanks to Eqzitara's fix on Helixmod

I too have seem some oddity's when it comes to SLI+3d vision with RoG swift panel. It seems to not affect every game, and the games it does effect are slightly different in the way in which it affects them.
Examples:
X-Com Enemy within - With SLI enabled you get this really awful screen tearing effect every time you pan around the screen.
Fallout 3 - Seems to not render 3d correctly. Like its the same image on both eyes maybe? Oddly it looks fine if your standing completely still. Soon as you start moving you get this "shimmer" effect.
Those are two titles I've played recently which defiantly have bugs with SLI+3D vision with swift. Soon as I disable SLI the titles run completely flawless.
But again, it does not seem to affect every game.
Witcher 1/2 both fine with sli+3d
Dragon Age 2 also worked fine
Drivers used for this where 347.09 with 2 gtx 670's 4gb / 3d vision 2 - 2550x1440 @ 120hz (ULMB off)
******************************
EDIT - Well after much testing with fallout 3 I found the issue to be vsync. For some reason it seems the swift panel in this game wanted to either A. Run without vsnyc at all, or B. Run at an unknown value.
After running around in 3d without 3d glass's on I was able to ID this effect as screen tearing, or a variant of it. It much harder to ID in 3d vs 2d. Eventually what resolved it was forcing vync on and putting a frame-rate limit cap of 58 in nvidia inspector. Not attempted to fix X-com yet but I suspect this will resolve it as well.

For people using the ROG Swift panel, it seems like NVidia might be doing something bizarre with the drivers that is affecting SLI. Like a special IF statement that If it's a Swift, change the SLI bits on game X.
Pure speculation, but if that is true, then the trouble with SLI that you see could be possibly fixed by making a different profile that NVidia won't match, and thus not tweak the bits. You could maybe clone a profile so it has a different name, or rename the exe to break that association.
You could also maybe make it it think it was a generic 1440p panel instead, with an EDID override.
Just a thought, might be worth some experimentation.

I don`t know how you`ve managed to get Witcher 2 without this annoying tearing but I can add some other titles to it. Portal 2, Batman (all), Bulletstorm, all Borderlands. Looks like some drivers handle this better. I had that issue with Diablo 3 and Ethan Carter but after drivers update problem completely gone.
I`ll try that what bo3b say and work around profile.
Edit: no it didn`t help. I`ve made a new profile and put sli bit in there only. Games still behave same way. CD Project Red showed some detail about recommended system spec and it looks like if you were able to run W2 then you wont have problems with W3. I guess we`ll be good even without sli. These dudes know how to optimise game.

This actually might be hardware related issue and they trying to fix it through software.
I`ve erased profile completely and kept sli in drivers On but without any sli settings or bit in Nv Insp. Game still have same issue but looks like less annoying one.

I can confirm that removing exes from a profile does not work.
2 months ago I also tried EDID overriding, but there seems to be no config that actually works for this monitor. I only managed to break my screen output.

There is an option in The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 2 game which makes correction to this weird issue. If you play if this option off the whole stuttering is bigger then in any other game but with this option on everything plays alright. The option say:
"Sync CPU to GPU (Forces CPU to wait for the GPU to finish before starting a new frame. Recommended if you experience any unexplained stuttering)."
Also this game won`t start in 3D without SLI and two in-game options marked so there is no chance to switch SLI off.
Maybe there is way to force that in other games through system or gpu drivers. Anybody got idea ?

Version: 347.25 WHQL
Release Date: 2015.1.22
If anything SLI is even more broken on this release for ROG pg278q. So far I have tested the 3d vision setup wizard which goes into a driver crash loop until you kill the process with SLI enabled. Trine just blue-screens and reboots when you launch it with SLI and 3d vision enabled. Can anyone else with pg278q confirm issues please? Thanks!
EDIT1: I was able to get Trine and Diablo 3 to launch by setting 3d to "only while full screen 3d programs run" and changing desktop refresh rate to 144hz. 3d is still broken for SLI though, only displays one eye as before. They really don't want to sell me that second 980ti . . .

hmm you got me with this 980 "ti" version :) anyway I have managed to set Diablo 3 in 3D by constant pressing really fast on/off button on the IR emitter until I get doubled screen respond. Works every time after tenth approach or so.
Trine 1,2 still have to be set to single gpu to get it right.

Yea 980ti is more of a dream than a reality right about now . . .
Mad props to you, I never would have thought of that. I did try turning it off and on again a few times as any good IT dude would; however it appears you have to spam at least 5 or 6 times before it catches? Yea, I can confirm your work-around on Diablo 3. It also works by just pressing ctrl-T a bunch of times. If that isn't the weirdest fix ever I don't know what is :P Now where were you 3 months ago :P
