Vision 3D top of screen severe ghosting
  17 / 31
The question is.. does this technology works on LCDs?!?!or something...except DLPs and PJ
I will wait for Bit Cauldron or iZ3D to release their glasses wait for some tests and get out of the green team's defective hardware.
They don't even admit that their hardware is faulty and they keep doing ads up and down wow amazing technology 3D effects selling kits all the way to customers like us.
And after people buy it they get what? -500$ ...wow amazing
Keep doin' it and good luck in the future

I Have also just bought the samsung and have severe ghosting at the top 20% of the screen. To be honest im pretty pissed off. From what im hearing the projectors dont suffer this issue. Yet here we all are with a monitor that has CLEARLY been certified for working with the 3d vision.
I'm wondering if anyones thinking of a class lawsuit to get us all refunded for the money wasted buying kit that doesent work propperly. False advertising etc.
Dont get me wrong i do love the 3d effects however IMO nvidia and samsung know of this problem and we are having neither of them hands upping to it and just leaving us in the sh!t.

Has anyone had official responce from nvidia or samsung on this board?

OK, here's my opinion. The Samsung monitor works with 3D vision, that's why it is certified for it... The only reason you have ghosting is because you chose the cheap option, rather than the quality one.

There are plenty of other monitors that work with 3D vision being released, plenty of which have no ghosting whatsoever. They are a little more expensive than the Samsung, but they are better quality.

i suggest that next time, rather than buying a cheap monitor and complaining because it isn't perfect, spend the little extra time researching (this thread is a good indication to not buy the 2233RZ) and a little extra money to buy a product that you will be happy with. This goes out to basically everyone.

NVIDIA certify the Samsung monitor for 3D vision, because it works with 3D vision... You can see 3D with it! Better monitors are also certified, because they also work with 3D vision, they just do a better job.
If you go to the hardware shop and buy a cheap bucket, it might have a hole in it, but its still a bucket! If you spend more money on a better bucket, there is less chance for holes, and more chance for you to be happy.

This is really neither NVIDIA's fault or Samsungs.

Well when I bought the kit there weren't too many options, so I really don't call this a cheap monitor.
Also please mention me an LCD monitor that doesn't ghost.
Well if were to sell the kit I would write on the stickers 3D vision 50% ready...so..

Completely agree. I will give them a bit more time then chase for a response. It would have been nice to have had something within the indicated 24hours though, even if it only said "we're looking into it".

The new ACER monitor (24") supposedly has no ghosting, as does the alienware one that was recently released. Since people havn't really got to use these yet, I cant be sure, but I can assure that that the 3D ready Dell laptop has an LCD panel, and it has no ghosting. DLP's are also ghostless if you have the money :D

My plan is to wait to see some reviews on the ACER monitors in a few months when they come out, and then decide which monitor I will buy.

Did you test any of the upcoming LCDs? How can you speak of a no ghosting monitor that did not even appear.
About the Dell, are you trying to say that the Dell's LCD is better than the Samsung or Viewsonic? I hope not...let me see 2233RZ = 400$ Dell Laptop = 600$ ...hope you are joking. How about this...maybe they are aware of the ghosting problem and since there are many users complaining they started to work and optimize the drivers for the new products as laptops, they could not sell it defective like before. Also what size is the DELL's LCD I think a max 17" the 2233RZ is 22" and maybe ghosting is visible more clearly because it's bigger. But I don't believe you
I am not talking about DLPs though they ghost too not as much of an LCD but today's LCDs are not ghost free no matter the manufacturer(Alienware, Acer etc...)...anyway on which side are you?
Stop supposing...you would better pay attention to what people complain about and stop boasting this product cause it's faulty and it ain't cheap for fun.

P.S. Until now people tried to switch different monitors...no luck.... tried to switch the pair of glasses no luck(it's the same product it won't work until next revision or driver update)...our luck is in other vendors with serious products...btw I'll make my dog happy in the summer by giving him to wear these glasses - 3D dog ready

No I have not, this is how they have been advertised.

The dells panel is not necessarily better than the Sammy or viewsonic, it just copes with 3D vision better, it is smaller, and probably has a lower response rate, and contrast etc, which make it cheaper.
The drivers are not the problem, if they were, the problem would be fixed in the 2233RZ, and every panel (including DLP's) would ghost the same. Ghosting is not more obvious the larger the monitor, this makes no sense.

I'm not on anyones side. I'm saying there is nothing wrong with NVIDIA's hardware, or software. There is also no problem with the Samsung monitor. It produces a fine 3D image, just not a perfect one, which is obviously what you want.
I think I'm not the one with the problem (my 3D setup works fine). I think you need to stop complaining, and try to find solutions to your problems (or alternative ways around them).

Switching monitors doesn't work because its a design fault, not a manufacturing fault. The same problem is there with all of these panels (the ones used in the samsung / viewsonic). Switching glasses doesnt work, because all of the glasses work perfectly. If they didnt, DLP's would ghost too). Driver updates also dont work, because drivers cannot change the hardware in the monitor, which is the problem. If the driver was the problem, all monitors would ghost (including the dell laptop), which they dont.

If there is anything you don't understand here, let me know, and I'll try to explain.

I think you are making fun of me you are saying the lcd of a laptop has better response time than a standalone LCD and a better contrast and even cheaper, lol you are funny.

I was refering to the drivers of the IR emitter not the display driver(sync'ing etc...). Ghosting is more visible on a larger screen because your eyes can see the same image but more detailed...don't know why you don't understand.
We have tried many things convergence, drivers(different drivers produce more or less ghosting and you keep saying it is not a driver problem), we opened calls to NVIDIA support, if you look in the 3D Vision thread in the Q&A topic you will see the Ghosting problem is rated as a high problem if they can't fix it how can I find a solution?? you genius
And what can we do..those that have defective kit?!! I wish you were in our place.
Just for a test try to flip vertical your monitor so you can see upside down and run a game in 3D
and tell me if you see any ghosting.

Anyway you are not the right person to help here I don't know why do I boughter talking to you

Yeah, what I understand is that it's idiotic for you to tell people they should have bought a different monitor when the Samsung was the only available option for the past year. Even now we only are barely seeing other models on the market that we can start quantifying the improvements of. There are serious ghosting problems with the Samsung that have not been quantified in the slightest by nVidia ... the users of this site have had to do all the investigation on their own. In my opinion the ghosting is a bit beyond what a reasonable person would expect.

Nick
The Samsung and Viewsonic have been the only 3D Ready desktop LCD monitors available for a long time, so up until a few days ago when the Alienware was released, the Samsung/Viewsonic weren't the cheap option, they were the only option.

According to the threads here the Alienware does still have some ghosting (although thankfully less than the Sammy/Viewonsic) and the Acer hasn't been tested yet.

x_phir3 - Please take the time to read what I type properly.

"The dells panel is not necessarily better than the Sammy or viewsonic, it just copes with 3D vision better, it is smaller, and probably has a lower response rate, and contrast etc, which make it cheaper."
I said it has a worse refresh rate / worse contrast, but it handles 3D better. This is why it is cheaper.

To all 3 of you - Within a week of these monitors being released I had heard stories of bad ghosting, which is the sole reason I did not buy one for myself. It is also the reason none of you should have bought one.
You are also all wrong about the options available.
I did not have enough money for a DLP tv, so I went with the only other option from the 3... A CRT. My CRT works wonderfully with 3D vision, with pretty much no ghosting at all. And get this: I found it hiding away in a cupboard next to my computer, so it was absolutely free for me - another reason not to throw away old stuff.

The way i see it now, is that I am using a CRT, and it is actually better than all the Samsung monitors you guys bought, and I didn't have to pay extra for mine at all!

Please don't give me rubbish saying you hod to buy a Samsung, you could have easily spent an hour researching before you spent all that money, and found out there is a better product that you already own sitting next to you.

fish99 - I have also read that the alienware monitor has ghosting; which is exactly why I'm not buying it either... I now wait for the Acer to be tested somewhere.

rkuo - Be careful who you say is idiotic, I was one of the only people that didnt waste hundreds of dollars on an inferior product, plus I have a monitor that doesnt ghost! :P
