Missing 3d Vision settings from Control Panel
I have an Asus G73Jw with a GeForce 460M and normally keep it connected to an 60Hz external HDMI monitor at home, using the laptop screen as a secondary display. While out today I decided to try out a game in anaglyphic 3d, which has worked in the past while connected, only to find it didn't work. Since I normally keep 3d Vision turned off I went to the Control Panel to turn it on I found the option missing altogether. I ended up reinstalling the driver, including using Driver Sweeper, and updating to the 267.24 beta release but it's still not displaying. I'd rather not be tied to an external monitor in order to use this because, if anything, because I bought a laptop for a reason. Plus, I find anaglyphic works better with a physically smaller image.

For what it's worth, I've attached an image to clarify the problem.

I have whatever the newest driver is (267.76) and still have the problem. This is the non-3d Vision model of the G73Jw (G73Jw-XA1), I'm trying to use the anisotropic 3d, not the shutter glasses 3d.

For that matter, when connected to a 120Hz display via HDMI, could I use the 3d Vision kit if I had one?

Yes you could.

S3D option normally doesn't show up on laptops, period... Even if you wanted to enable anaglyph 3d unfortunately. There was an announcement about it...

EDIT: Obviously I mean without plugging it into another monitor, it just won't enable itself on a laptop without external monitor (or unless you have a compatible 3D laptop, even just for anaglyph)

I think I figured out the problem, but it took booting into Linux to find out. The display is 6bpp (18-bit color) and it probably requires 8bpp (24-bit color). Most laptop makers cut that corner to save on price, but it makes the colors look like crap without turning up digital vibrance.
