Playing the devil's advocate for one minute, would it be so bad to have a splash screen showing credits of all the amazing people who made a fix possible? I personally think that it would be a good reminder to the majority of us who take the fixes for granted, of how much effort everyone put into it. A couple of seconds of annoyance isn't much. In fact, I believe helifax's wrapper already has a cool splash screen which can be disabled. Its primary function is to show that the hooks are working properly. Also, I know patience is running thin, but I think there is always room for more compassion and understanding in this world. When a friend has an episode, one has to try and help, and when said friend lashes back because he is not in the right state of mind, the worst thing one can do is counter-react. The best thing at that point is to say nothing and simply back off. There is no point in throwing more petroleum onto the fire. The poor chap is blind to awkwardness so asking him to be less awkward is counter-productive IMO. He obviously realises that he has done something bad once his episode is over and deletes/edits his posts... I think this specific episode had something to do with the fact that the Vive sale announcement was yesterday/day before, and he realised there is no way he can afford it, even though he really wanted it. I can see why he wants to escape from his personal reality which must be hell for him, and can't really blame him. This is beginning to remind me of the movie "The Island", when they don't want to hear from the sick guy any more, so they take him into the forest and kill him in order to shut him up. Of course, we are not that bad, but asking someone to leave when they are having an episode, is disheartening :( I am sure the fellah is going through plenty worse than what some are wishing upon him. I think complaining about spam, even when deserved, when someone is going through something like this, is a tad heartless. We have all shown compassion, some more than others. Let's let the poor chap be. He will understand himself once this is over, until next time, when we will all show him compassion once again. I would like to think that this is who we are as a community. I am sure none of us would want anything less from others, if it was our loved one who was suffering. <3

Hey guys, If I could chime in here for a minute. I'm a long time lurker (years!!) of this community, very few posts, but i've used and enjoyed almost every single fix. All you shader hackers blow me away with all your work. Being able to play some of these games in 3D has made my quality of life (outside of work) that much better. Like seriously, you guys are all fucking amazing. It seemed to me like things were resolved here, but now i'm reading about how maybe a splash screen isn't such a bad idea. Well, purely as a gamer, my opinion is that it is absolutely unecessary. I can't speak for everyone, but as long as this forum and helixmod have the proper credits given, then I know EXACTLY who to thank for the fixes. If the people that actually made the game don't get a splash screen (except company logo), and their name in the credits post-game for about 10 seconds, then I don't think anyone else should. anyone. period. Maybe add a splash screen post credits. These fixes don't magically install in our game folders, use have to go through the read-me's and install docs to get working, which say exactly who helped with the fix. I know not all the names were there, but that seems to be fixed. Keep on fixing, fixers! I'm weeks close to getting a major promotion which i'll be definitely throwing some cash finally to you guys and your hard work. Or i'd even buy you guys some games that you want to fix.

I'm just glad that "TheFly" isn't posting in these forums. I couldn't imagine what he would have to say about his best friend Flugan, other than rambling on about how fond he is of him and considers him to be a "savant" http://steamcommunity.com/app/730/discussions/0/412447613572148433/

I told TheFly to stay out of it and that I should learn to handle conflicts on my own. It really makes me improve as a person. The Flugan wrappers that have been open source for more than 6 months is finally available on GitHub for anyone to see.

HMmm... Somehow I have a feeling the "Splashscreen" idea is my doing:( (My opengl-3dvision wrapper was the first one to use if... from my knowledge. Now, I am wondering if it was a good idea... Seemed right at the time to signal the importance of the achievement... Being able to play/use OpenGL with 3DVision) I am sorry and I do apologize for everyone else if this caused ANY issues or misunderstandings as this wasn't the intent!!!! I always tried to give as much credit as possible to all the people invested in a fix that I created (Because without them that fix would be incomplete or NON-EXISTENT! And here I mean DarkStarSword, Mike_ar69, bo3b, DHR - people I personally worked, even outside of the PUBLIC forums - as a lot of technical things happen in PM's. There are others I worked with - sorry if I don't mention you here, but rest assured your VALUABLE input has been AWESOME!) Now, back to the topic!!!! Flugan, your ASM decompiler/compiler addition to 3DMigoto HAS/IS INVALUABLE!!!!!!! Don't believe for a second! that you are ignored! At first I felt like you do! (being ignored/not-recognized) when I made my Surround fixes for different games. But, always remember, for 10 satisfied users you will find ONE that will complain;) In the end... is what you ACHIEVE that maters! (Not how many people give you credit or say "Thank you") ;) Been in the software industry for quite a bit now, and people forget to say "Thank you", but they will jump to your throat with any occasion... So, don't take it personal;) (This comes from a person born under the "Fire sign" and we aren't known for our patience;)) I, for one, am a very volcanic person...and easy get annoyed and jump on someone...as some here can testify...but so is my nature... Doesn't mean I am aggressive... (My wife can testify... I am just a bit louder) ^_^ ) So, don't get depressed or anything! For me you are one AWESOME GUY and definitely one of the "Bad Boys" ^_^ (So, don't let anyone discourage you from your work;) )

D-Man11, please just stop mate, you are better than this. He has already said he finds it difficult to read between the lines/sarcasm, etc. Why be cruel by using exactly that against him? Let's just let the poor chap be, he will be mostly off the front page soon enough.

First of all I currently have three threads on the front page that can hardly be called spamming. The threads I have are serious threads but a few better fit into our existing threads and I'm killing them as applicable.

I think we all know who is who in this 3D world... Each time i download one of your wrappers, im thinking how much i thank you for exists in the world, then if i have to read a splash screen i dont like, each time i start a game, (i´ll have see this splash thousand times a month), doesn´t matter, beter if you can make the splash after the game closes, like a reminder of who makes it posible, is an idea... Im a poor man, this makes even more awesome your work to me... @Flugan, at first time i must admit i not simpatizes with you, (i was thinking you was hungry for credit over all... , i dont remember if this happens on gta v or in dragon ages post, but im sure this was a psicollogical effect of your avatar, it makes me feel in a deffensive state, don´t know why... But anyway , even on that moments, i was thanking you to be here making the thinks you make, because i use a lot of your work to my own 3d better experience. I like you, as i like all the other shader hakers, and i love, the way you build this cooperative comunity, working together. i hope you reach the goals you are pointing at. i wish the best for each one of you, sorry my bad english, but i feel the need to say something , cause i think your goals are good for all of us at the end. p.d. - About your idea of moving us to steam comunity, i can not agree, sorry, this is cause i think steam always try to monetice everythink, as we can see with the mods comunity in skyrim recently, and people usually try to find a solution for the graphic issues in the nvidia pages, then to mee is good to follow this fórum, thanks anyway...

Splash screens that showed just once or a few times would be massively welcomed for me! I however had to sit through Metro 2033's splash screen about 400 times and that is no fucking joke, those were unwelcome to say the least. When considering this, remember that games are sometimes used by people VERY FREQUENTLY to do benchmarks with and other testing. Like i used Metro to do my main 3D visual comparison testing with.
