VR suit on kickstarter (PrioVR)
If you're interested in actual VR (as opposed to just having a monitor strapped to your head - a.k.a Oculus Rift), you might be interested in this VR hardware project on kickstarter at the moment, with just a couple of days left: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/yeitechnology/priovr-get-your-ideas-moving. It will purportedly work together with the Oculus Rift and the Omni (a 360 degree gaming treadmill), for a complete VR solution that not only tracks your head, but your leg and arm movements as well. I think this highlights just how far away we are from real VR, actually. You've got three separate kickstarter projects from 3 separate companies. Good luck getting a high profile game to work flawlessly with all three in tandem. And good luck getting a normal consumer to buy all 3. Still, it's possibly another baby step towards a VR future, so it's probably worth supporting.
