Civilisation 5 - Brave New World
This game is so good in 3D! Great game too. If you have Civ 5 but haven't played it since vanilla, BNW adds all the mechanics of Gods and Kings (minus the pack specific civs) and really fleshes out the mid and end game, with new civs too. If you like civ games I think Civ 5 BNW is now a contender for the best civ game ever (including C4 Beyond The Sword!) It feels like a completely different game and I am really excited about it. I am playing as Venice (no settlers!). I love the way a well organised mini civ like Venice, with only a few puppeted cities can now win. And in 3D it looks sooo good! I have no idea why people don't think these types of games are cool in 3D; they really are! It highlights all the little tesselated features - tiny grooves on the pasture tiles, dusty deserts etc. Subtle but beautiful. Toyification was made for this type of game! I think the graphics are excellent. And the presentation is so slick. Clearly a AAA grand strategy title.

Not played in a while, but yes I loved playing Civ5 in 3D. I will aim to get a video on SG over the weekend. Will also try and get a Total War: SHOGUN 2 page done. Two great strategy games that work very well in 3D

Would love to see both of those videos! I always find it interesting how other people play these games. I usually end up thinking how boring my play style is!

If I were to play what do I "need"/"want". I own the base game from XCOM but thats it. I think certain dlc's effect other dlcs so I have no idea.

XCOM like units are new to Brave New World. If you have Civ 5 you only need the Brave New World DLC. I wouldn't bother with the Gods and Kings expansion unless you *must* have a certain civ. Brave New World does everything Gods and Kings does and then a great deal more! Also the Venice city state is a VERY different experiance. The whole Civ 5 experience has changed if you ask me!
