Stunning 3D Vision
First post so hi to all.

I got the 3dvision kit with samsung 22" tft after seeing a demo at a show recently here in the UK.
I was using e-dimensional glasses nearly 8 years ago but had to ditch them when flat panels took over from CRT's. It was awesome to see that the tech has finally made it to LCD screens.

The 3d effect is just as good if not better than it ever was back then. In fact, it's so good that I'm thinking of getting a 3d projector but want to see some reviews first on the viewsonics and if paying for a depthq is worth the extra $$$ any thoughts here would be appreciated.

OK, so when I'm showing off 3dvision to friends and family the first thing I hit is the Nvidia 3d test demo that's within the drivers. Nothing else, no other game or video shoots out of the screen like this demo does...the pop-out effect is awesome. But this demo must be a good 8 years old now and looking a bit dated.

Does anyone know of any other 3d demo that has the same effect as this that I can use to show this kit off with?
Do you think that upcoming games or even any existing ones will eventually have this mad pop-out effect?

Cheers.
Mark

You can get a fair amount of pop-out in just about any game by messing with the convergence settings. /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

My favorite game demos are:

Tomb Raider Underworld
Prototype
Left 4 Dead
Burnout Paradise.

I have been doing some testing with some other prerelease titles, such as Resident Evil 5, which looks great. We showed that off at Computex in our booth and Capcom has already issued a press release about their plans to optimize the game for 3D Vision.

I didn't even realize they were releasing a PC version of RE5. I guess I was right to skip the console version.

Excellent!
Thanks for your replies. I'm just downloading your 3d video now and will give it a spin.

Looks like that RE5 is one for the shopping basket then!

I've been making some 3D photos this weekend. Using a bit of free software called stereophoto maker.
I used a normal SLR with a tripod and took two photos a couple of inches apart and the software did the rest.

Some came out better than others but after a bit of practise....

How much more fun can I have with these glasses?
Actually, I have a couple of identical high def head-cameras here (we sell them!) so the next thing on the list is to try shooting some high def 3d footage. /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Using Nvidia stereo image viewer > options > scale to fit.
