Why 3d vision mode disables custom brightness & contrast on Samsung 2233rz ?
Hi,
I noticed that when 3d vision mode is enabled with a movie or a game, then the monitor has brightness set to 100% and contrast to 75%, and it is not possible anymore to change these settings manually until 3d vision mode is disabled.
Althought I know this is made to compensate the loss of light in 3d mode, these arbitrary settings are very tiring to my eyes at night as they are very sensitive to brigthness and contrast. It feels a bit like having a powerful torchlight in front of your view.
Then as I suppose this is caused by the way the driver is designed, could you please modify it in a future update to allow the user of a Samsung 2233rz to modify brightness & contrast levels?
And in the meanwhile does a workaround exist by manually tweak driver files ?

The monitor will always go into full brightness and contrast in 3d mode. But, you can use the Nvidia control panel to alter desktop color, brightness, and contrast and it will carry over in 3d mode. I've used it to bring contrast down a lot and brightness down a little and it works fine. :) However if you like different settings in normal 2d mode you'll have to keep reverting back every time you stop playing games. But I've managed to find a good balance for both. Just mess with it.

Thanks for your advice, unfortunately it doesn't satisfy me as nvidia control panel alters the desktop display at a software level, which is far from being as efficient as the hardware level of the monitor and on which the nvision driver acts directly.
A simple way to prove that is to compare the picture first by setting brightness & contrast at 100% on the monitor and 0% in nvidia control panel, then by doing the opposite.

Well, if you ask me , 3d LCD's are junk. Besides, with a projector you can compensate for the brightness loss entirely with reflective screen, no need to touch the "contrast kill" sliders. Don't let 720p deter you , it looks like every bit as crisp as a fullHd screen. Just google for DLP + screendoor.

Well the problem with a projector is that you must be in a completly dark room and most of all have a lot of empty space on a wall, which I don't dispose of with my room full of stuff and when I wish to play during the day.

Yeah, I know. But there really isn't anything else you can do. /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
@tritosine: I don't think my monitor is "junk". I'm a guy raising four kids in a small house without a lot of money. Just having the 2233 and 3d vision is quite a luxury for me. I only get to build a new gaming pc every 2-3 years, sometimes 4. But, I'm sure Mr. Jpnn80 and myself wouldn't mind if you buy and send us a free 3d projector. /shifty.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':shifty:' />

And I'd prefer seeing you guys build screen for yourselves , cause thats something to be glad for once such package arrives. Projector 3d is almost 85% DIY , dark courtains and stuff.
