Your system is twice as good as mine. I run at 1440*900 with 4xAA and with the following reduced, with the rest maxed: Motion Blur off (personnal choice) Shadows med, HWshads off, SSAO off and objects High. I get 23.32 from the third benchmark which is the killer one. (Just checked the other two and I get 41.84 for Dark Tower and 49.19 for Desert Sunrise)

Biggest hitters were SSAO (is that not a superfluous setting, like DoF, because we have actual depth?) and object from VH to H. I couldnt tell the difference (even took screenies).

When you fly over a large city bit, like in the 3rd benchmark, you seem to get major slowdown. I dont think that is a graphic thing, maybe CPU as it is loading the different textures - I dunno...

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Try disabling CUDA water, its eating up significant GPU cycles always, even when you're not close to water.

In my benchmarks I found this setting made little difference. It obviously does make a difference but I noticed minimal FPS gains disabling CUDE water using my lone 470. Im sure the OP will notice it even less with his 2 X 470s.

Interesting, as turning it off with 2x480s results in a 15-25% difference in FPS with my 2x480 SLI set-up. In Concrete Jungle its 27FPS with and 36 without, so 25% difference. In Dark Tower its the difference between 60FPS capped the entire run vs. 51FPS with pretty big dips at the start and when crossing the bridge. In actual gameplay its the difference between 45-50FPS and capped 60FPS per eye.

Thats a HUGE difference! I didnt get anything close to that on my setup. I also used the Concrete Jungle BM for my tests. I'll defo have another look to reconfirm. A 20% FPS gain is well worth the drop of water quality. (Which is fine by me TBH!)

I take it all back!

I just looked over my notes (yes I am that geeky) and I tried pretty much every setting. But not Water! I was sure I did! :">

I'm well pleased though.

Dark Tower: 41.84 -> 51.53; Desert Sunrise: 49.19 -> 55.76 and Concrete Jungle: 23.32 -> 26.89

That is defo worth the drop in water quality which now just looks like good quality standard water IMO.

Nice one!

Just tell me mafia 2 runs better, or I wont even check that. JC2 got kicked off my comp very fast because of lousy perfomance (unjustified).
