I just sent him a donation to thank him for some recent fixes of his I've played through. Not that I expect we can pay him to come back, but a few tokens of appreciation might help put him in a better mood.

I've kinda follow the explanation between DHR and Helifax, never read that DHR will quit us,
in contrary of Helifax who said he won't share his work anymore. He was very disappointed that someone "allegedly" use a part his hard work an ask money for it, regarding DHR universal fixes and money goals.
Before the story, Mass Effect Andromeda Fix, should not be a public release, only a WIP (Work In Progress), too much work Helifax said, until DSS comes to help and motivate him to make it happened, if I remember correcly. Helifax says that about 50% of the time is put to make the fix works for every machine, it's time consuming.
Hope they continue to help 3D to stay great. We already have lost too much 3DVision Guru...

When I saw the situation, I worried about him and asked how he felt.
He told me that some things he did not have to put up with and that he preferred not to publish his fixes to avoid this kind of problems.
I understand it in part ...
we've lost two of the best shaderhackers and it seems that nobody has noticed ...
PD: sorry for bad english

Yep it's how Helifax (hot blood) is, I can't remember how many times he said that he quite the 3D community and stop share his work...
I follow all the explanation between them and Helifax was very harsh when DHR post the Universal fixes (WITHOUT asking any goals or anything).
Then the next day Helifax apologizes and delete his harshes posts and said how he likes and plays numerous DHR's Fixes and work. DHR said no problem and they were reconciliated.
Then a few days later Helifax was back with his anger again saying it was his last fix and DHR asking money with his "stolen" work and blaming him for asking goals on certain fixes etc... I understand DHR is fed up with that neverending behaviors.
As I already said we are quite happy with goals (so little amount to barely buy thoses games) DHR asking for time consumming fixes as like he said lot of people enjoys and download his fixes without even thanks him or ever give some little contribution.
For reminder they both have a paypal and accept donations, and a lot of shaderhackers accept donations for fixing games, using the incredible 3Dmigoto features made by others (Chiri, Bo3b, DSS, Flugan etc), other shaderhackers (like 4everawake, Neovad) encourages to give donations to template's creator like DSS for Unity.
All that is the 3D community we love and we are proud to contribute as or if we can. Peace

Well terrible news, the worst part of them not sharing their fixes is that those fixes actually make the community survive and create new shaderhackers, we've seen many fixers go like eqzitara or helix, but new faces showed up like masterotaku, DSS, 4everawake etc while some old shaderhacker gods have always been around like helixfax, dhr, flugan helping the newcomers, the problem is that no new fixes will stop new blood from coming and committing to 3d fixing so 3d probably die.
Actually I'm always impressed that 3d gaming still survives, hopefully things will get along between them, but if 3d ends dying it's been an incredible ride.

There's no point rehashing the events blow-by-blow, and assigning blame. I'm sure a donation or two to say thanks if you've enjoyed his fixes would be appreciated regardless of whether he chooses to return or not though. Same goes for all the other fixers too, of course.

I see I get quoted a lot here recently.
I want to clarify a few things:
- I am not "the mood man". I might be explosive in some reactions. But what I've said it wasn't in anger, quite the opposite (and the reason I decided not to let this "slip").
- The problem was not him asking for money for his fixes. I never had a problem with that and I am unsure where this thing got lost in translation.
- The problem was that the UE4 and FB3 universal fixes where not made solely by DHR, but by DSS, Me, Bo3B, Flugan and so on. Yet, when I download it and run it what do I see?

All I wanted, is to give credit to all the people who worked on this fix, like the UE4 fix. Half of you don't know how much work and time was put into it (and you don't care - as I can see you don't even understand what happened).
If DHR decided to leave instead of fixing this "typo" (and give credit where credit is due) than I am really sorry.

Sorry Helifax with all the respect I have for you and your work for the community, but you clearly said to DHR (in one of your numerous deleted posts) "you're the only one asking money for fixes, shame on you", I don't see things lost in translation here ;)
Now I really hope too you guys come to an agreement as you are awesome when you are working together.

@chitblue:
That is correct. I did say that. However, that phrase is out-of-context. I don't have any problem with anyone asking for money for their fixes!
(As a matter of fact I remember around 2015, the whole community had a discussion if we shouldn't make like a subscription plan-based system for the fixes. And a lot of people where against it. You must remember it too. As Helix started this as an "open source" release method, it was decided to remain the same.)
The fact that I agree, doesn't mean I find it morally correct!
So again, I don't have a problem with asking for money on your own fixes!, But read the quote again:

I noticed some people called me "jealous" or something... For what?
I am not jealous on anyone and especially not on DHR! I UNDERSTAND HIS STANCE PERFECTLY! (And I agree with him on how much time and effort it takes to make something that looks like a trivial fix!)
I respect him, for his numerous contributions! But, I also respect: Bo3b, DarkStarSword, Flugan, Mike_ar69, Helix, Masterotaku, 4everawake and the list goes on!
==============
Fun Fact:
==============
I don't think, there is anyone who haven't seen a movie/film! Did you notice that in the beginning, all the important creators are mentioned? And at the end, when the credits role, every single person down to the lady that cleans your desk - is mentioned?
That is why they are called CREDITS!
==============
You all think this has to do with me directly! But it doesn't! I just wanted ALL that were involved into making that fix possible to be mentioned (It is clearly how little a lot of you know, attacking me bluntly in some of the posts. But, I guess this is the internet...).
I wanted to talk with DHR privately (hence the 2 days delay before I posted it again) but he simply wasn't interested in talking. Maybe he gives 2 cents on all of this and this community, but I DON'T! And I showed OVER AND OVER again!
There is a saying: "Give to Caesar what is due to Caesar" and that is all I ever wanted and still want! (As is morally and creatively CORRECT!)
I am sorry if you cannot see this (or don't want to) and for DHR leaving (if this is the reason). It was never the intent. (The intent was for me to leave because I cannot tolerate things like this - which I called stealing/plagiarism - for those who didn't get it).
Go ahead and blame me for his decision, if you want to! (It just shows exactly what is a known thing in today's world: The guy that shows that something is wrong, is pushed against the wall for being correct!)
Helifax
PS:
Bo3b, asked me directly to delete that post. And I agreed with him (The reason of it's removal).

So you and DHR are gone and the community of the real heroes in shader hacking will become smaller and smaller??? really???? because of some "stupid things"...
I CAN UNDERSTAND all of your intension, really!!! BUT: Sometimes we have to live with such a shit looking forward to the whol thing ...

I am sad that the major players in shader-hacking will fight them selfe and i am sad that we will loose those major players in shader hacking because of some stupid credits (even if i can understand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
We need you, we appreciate your work an the goal should be: IMPROVE IT !!! Be proud of what YOU hav done, independed from the others.

Thank you Helifax to clarify this up. I am in no right to any position in this - since I am mostly a mere consumer of fixes -, but wasn't such an outcome not exactly the intent of why the community decided back in the days to not moneterize.
Ironic. I hope you guys can sort it out together. If not immediately, then give it time.
And I am now not talking as a member of the community, but just as someone that does not like to see people fight over something where they are both emotionally so strongly entangled.
You are all great shaderhackers. Your work is pure treat. And every fix is something to proud of.
Believe me I fully understand each and every person in its position.

As far as I've seen DHR, in his "universal fixes" post, credited you and thanks all the people involved in 3Dmigoto and ofc specially DSS for adding the unique feature "shader regex" to 3Dmigoto.
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1035614/?comment=5284004
So what is bother you is that you want he credit all the 3Dmigoto team in the 3Dvision green overlay? Or is it for just putting his paypal donations address? For long time the green overlay wasn't changeable till DSS (again) made this available.
With your logical, why in the 3Dvision green overlay of the Mass Effect andromeda fix, you only credited you and DSS and not DHR (for using his shader regex which you "forgot" to mention at all in your post but he didn't start a war for that) and all others contributers for 3Dmigoto???
And in contrary to what you wrote ("ask money for fixes" 5 minutes later!"), he didn't ask money for those universal fixes , just put his paypal donation address, it's quite different and it's what most of shaderhacker do (including you, DSS, DHR, DJ-RK, Masterotaku etc) using 3Dmigoto features.
Universal fixes are free and disposable for everybody.

All hail 3d modders DHR, MasterOtaku, Losti, Necropants, Helifax, bo3b, mike_ar69, Flugan, DarkStarSword, 4everAwake, 3d4dd and so many more helping to keep the 3d dream alive, find their 3d fixes at http://helixmod.blogspot.com/ Also check my site for spanish VR and mobile gaming news: www.gamermovil.com

==============
Fun Fact:
==============
I don't think, there is anyone who haven't seen a movie/film! Did you notice that in the beginning, all the important creators are mentioned? And at the end, when the credits role, every single person down to the lady that cleans your desk - is mentioned?
That is why they are called CREDITS!
==============

(OK dont have the right words in english so i say it in german , meay be google will help and bring it to some sence .... ==> Manchmal müssen wir mit solcher Scheiße leben um das Große und Ganze zu wahren und wir müssen selber zurückstecken für das Wohl der Allgemeinheit <==))
What do you think who is mentioned in a publication in real live for a scientific paper in a position that matters????? YOU ?? YES in the middle ... you can give a fuck of it....the first Autor of a puclication is often your BOSS (CEO ... whatever but not YOU) and the last one matters because of writhing the article and YOU, YOU did the work of the content beeing published but... YOU can be proud if you where mentoned in the middle...but THIS is guving you a fuck shit nothing in the academic world ^^.. <-- THIS IS REAL LIVE that i have to deal with...^^ OK, given, this is something different may be but i only want to tell: not every thing is going well ^^
