My 3dtv is not recognized for 3dtv play
Hello, I installed the 3dtv play trial on my tv (http://www.electronicsforless.ca/tvs-displays-1/60in-to-74in-84/samsung-pn60f5500-60-class-plasma-3d-smart-1080p-hdtv-3291.html). When I go in the nvidia control panel I check the enable stereoscopic 3d panel and everything is greyed out, can't change depth and don't have the 3d logo like here: After some research I found out that my tv isn't supported and that I have to install a custom driver, I followed the instructions on this page http://blog.bagearon.com/2010/11/fix-nvidia-3dtv-play-samsung-3d-plasma-or-other-unsupported-model/ but I'm stuck... I can't seem to choose the custom .inf file, the button "ok" is not active I think windows doesn't allow me, I disabled the UAC and disabled the driver signature but I'm still stuck. Am I on the right path at least? Windows 7 64bit, gt580 and latest official drivers.

3D HDTVs/Projectors that are HDMI 1.4 compliant are supported by Nvidia's 3DTV Play using the manufacturers glasses. 3DTV Play, currently costs $40. If you have a 3D Vision emitter it's "FREE" and enables as long as the emitter is connected to the PC. The Nvidia 3D Vision glasses will not work with a HD 3DTV, except for the select few HDMI 1.3 DLP TVs that were supported by 3D Vision. Erase the override you istalled(@OP). With recent drivers all HDMI 1.4 3D HDTVs should work and be auto-recognized, if for some reason your's is not recognized http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2774/~/how-do-i-know-if-3dtv-play-supports-my-3d-tv%3F You need to use a HDMI connection, do not use the PC/VGA connection if it has one. You can use a DVI to HDMI cable. High speed cables are recommended but not necessay as long as the quality of the cable is good unless feaures offered by new cables such as arc or ethernet are required. Some TVs require that you rename to HDMI input to PC or perhaps Game, plzz read your owner's manual carefully. If it supports Checkerboard use it as your format of choice. (unless you have a Passive TV, then see http://3dvision-blog.com/7163-make-your-passive-3d-monitor-or-3d-hdtv-work-with-3d-vision/ My answer is aimed at all that happen upon this thread since the thread title leads me to believe that a few will. If using an AVR and it does not work, then connect directly to the TV to verify that it will work. Then use the support link provided previously to send Nvidia the AVR EDID to see if it can be supported.

Update: I made it work...l with tridef. The problem was my tv. On the link I posted above http://blog.bagearon.com/2010/11/fix-nvidia-3dtv-play-samsung-3d-plasma-or-other-unsupported-model/ I was hitting a wall on updating the tv with the custom .inf file. I tried everything disabling UAC, disabling driver signature, running it with command line nothing. I send an email to nvidia to support my 3dtv in the future but I don't know if they will even respond. So I decided to follow amd advise on the tridef forums, made it run like a double image left/right, turned the feature on the tv and voila. Thanks anyway.

According to Nvidia all HDMI 1.4 compliant 3D HDTVs should be detected with the latest drivers and activate. They also said... " However in case it doesn't, you may want to report it to our engineering team. Here's an article regarding this." http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2774/kw/2774 https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/536040/3d-vision/3dtv-play-samsung-ps51d8000-help-/

Do you have a second display connected? if so disconnect it while you mess with troubleshooting. Some TVs require that you use a specific HDMI input, check your manual. Also if it shows up as 3D Vision Discover, try to change it via the drop down menu.
