3D Stereo Linux New Install on Linux haveing problems
I am loading a new application on a new system. The hardware is an Acer (AST180 with AMD processor), a Quadro 4500 and a Dell LCD display (refresh rate is only 75 Hz). The OS is RHEL4 with the Nvidia Linux drivers. I plan to use a pair of NuVision wireless Stereoscopic glasses. Later I will use a projector with a 120 Hz refresh rate.

The application loads find and displays in 3D but I am not able to activate the “Stereo” function of the Quadro 4500.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You need to be running with the "nvidia" and not the "nv" driver; check your xorg.conf file. See if you find anything useful in the thread

You also have to make changes in the xorg.conf file; see the message

I know this post is about a year old, but just in case you still need help.

Option "Stereo" "3" turns stereo on

Option "Composite" "off" turns off composite so it doesn't interfere with stereo.

See my other posts to get more details.
