But every monitor seems to have this problem and it could very well be induced by the rendering technique used in the drivers https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/566852/3d-vision/asus-vg248qe-vg278he-amp-hr-benq-xl270t-checkerboard-pattern-in-3d-mode-no-fullhd-per-frame-/1/ On some it seems to represent itself as checkerboard, yet on others line interlaced.

I agree with D-Man11 that "one size doesn't fit all". Another problem I see is many people coming here might think that the PG278QR is one of a very few monitors still on the market and the best among them. The first is clearly wrong as there are many new certified models released in the past years with many of them released even after the PG278QR. The second is subjective as rustyk21 mentioned. For example, a few posters in this thread https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1029868/no-27-inch-thin-bezel-1080p-monitor-for-3d-vision-surround-available-/ disagree due to ghosting they had. I'm just against singling out the PG278QR as preferred (even in the unlimited budget case) without having enough (or in many cases any) feedback on other newer 3D Vision certified models.

This is one of the reasons I felt I could not write a guide. I do not have anything new, all my hardware is old except the Advegant Glyph. I know that Asus is very reputable and I love my VG278HE, it is still going strong after accumulating thousands of hours as a primary surfing and gaming monitor. On my Dell it shows Active power on time..... 15233 hours, so I've certainly got my money's worth imo, my VG278HE must be double that, at least. Not to mention that I'm really bad at sentence structure and paragraphs, I always hated English. Math and History were my favorites :P

Well, my original thought was that since 3D Vision has been canceled, that we only have a a year or so before all 3D hardware dries up on the market and nothing at all is available. So with that thought in mind, I figured other people would be like me and get pushed into buying hardware sooner than I'd want, because I probably will be unable to buy anything in the future. So what I'm looking for is good experiences that are still available to buy, today. I'd love to get a C6 Oled for example, but while that might be the pinnacle of 3D experience based on all the threads I've seen here, they are gone. I cannot find any on eBay, nor on CraigsList. There's no point in recommending stuff that no one can buy. But if it's still available somehow in your different countries, that's good enough, because it can help some people. I was thinking 'best', but maybe that is too relative, and we should just concentrate on good experiences. Reading the threads on different monitors strongly suggested to me that the PG278QR was the current winner, but maybe not for everyone. I bought one because the price has dropped dramatically, and overall it's pretty terrific. I'm not happy with the pixel inversion, but the ghosting is decent for an TN monitor. I'd prefer DLP projector with zero ghosting, but I use the monitor for development too. Virtual VR TVs are terrible. While they give us an option going forward, I'm here to tell you that they are a poor substitute for 3D Vision hardware. We've had some beefs with NVidia, but the reality is that they set a really high bar for quality and pushed it. They didn't certify as much stuff, and did not push some things like 3D TV Play because the quality was not as good as they were looking for, not because they were trying to limit options or cheat us or something. 3D on a bunch of older TVs was just epically terrible. Virtual TVs are maybe better than 2D or giving up playing altogether, but right now, I'm looking for good quality experiences, because we still have hardware available. 5 years from now maybe we can accept something pale like virtual TVs.

Well one of the things that also makes it hard is the craptastic different model numbers for the very same Display. Dell will put an "R" on the end of their display models, thus indicating that it was a "Retailer" model and not purchased from their on-line store. Plus the European models numbers for TVs and projectors are different. Why the hell couldn't they just tack a number or letter on the end for Region specifics. Like the Optoma UHD 40 / 50 Why not Optoma UHD 40 E E=European or Optoma UHD 40 R1 R1=Region 1=Europe So you certainly have to be careful that you are searching for the correct model found in your region.
