Has There Been A MonitorScreenSize Option Implemented Recently? In the drivers. Previously a project
I haven't booted up 3D Vision for roughly 8 months (flood in basement, didn't set the projector back up) from last August. However, I recently took the projector back out and set it up. My remote to my projector does not work, so I have to get a replacement. Man, how awesome Skyrim is on an 80" screen!!

Anyway, last summer there was an issue with Nvidia's drivers and their one registry value of "monitorscreensize." It kept defaulting to a specific value every time a game or application was run. That default value was good for a small screen, but for a larger 80" screen it was bad. It made the screen depth seem very non-3D. The only fix was to ALT+TAB back to the Windows desktop and edit that registry value, and then go back into the game. Some games like Oblivion did not like being ALT+TAB'd and would cause flickering or other issues with this method.

Was this solved recently? Does Nvidia now include in their driver a way to set the screen size for good? So that what ever projected screen size I'm using, it will be the same depth and effect?

It's not that the value is setup for a small screen, but rather that nvidia sets the screensize usually to the actual screensize and thus gets (in their eyes) optimal values. However they chose a value for a projector which might not even correspond with the actual size of your projection. That said, even if you'd make you projection that size, chances are it would still not allow enough depth. Anyway as far as I know, there still is no such option and it still reverts, but I don't have the absolute latest drivers.

Not true, from my past testing / experience, there was a HUGE difference from what Nvidia assigned to what I assigned the monitorscreensize value in the registry. I think I doubled the amount, but I don't remember as it was months ago. It went from "meh, it kinda looks 3D" to "holy crap, it's really friggin 3D." I made a batch file and assigned it to a shortcut key but after a game / app loads up, it uses the registry value at that millisecond it loads. The only way for the game / app to recognize the new value I assigned is for the game / app to be ALT+TAB'd out and then back in again. Then it loads with the value I assigned.

Cool. You have a few commands I didn't use in my batch file. I'll have to give it a shot once I find a replacement remote for my projector. So essentially it keeps the registry value from resetting at all? So the value I want is kept when the game / app loads up? No ALT+TAB needed?

Depth actually gets better when you lower the value, not when you make it higher.

Great, I'll give it a go when I find another remote.

And like I said, I haven't done 3D in a while so I don't remember if the value needed to be changed up or down, but I know it needed to be changed drastically.
