And with old 3d shutters glasses ?...
Hello
I would like to know if previous version of 3d shutter glasses still work with 3d Vision drivers or if there's an other one available for it. Last driver working was V91.xx. My glasses are Elsa 3D Revelator, and work pretty well on 6600GT. But didn't work with last 3d vision driver on Vista.
Thanks for your help

Sadly no it won't work with 3DVision driver.
However, if there is a 3DVision setup hooked up to the PC, the 3Dvision driver then will allow your glasses to work with its own emitter/dongle.

There are stereodrivers with later revisions for winxp (up to 162.50) but the 162.50 sometimes doesn't recognize any other options than anaglyph. If this is the case you can get around this by cutting one a special pin in the vga-connector.. /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' /> If it works you can run at least 169.21 forceware with 162.50 stereo with decent result for newer games. However your 6600 might not really be up to the task.
You can give the iz3d drivers a shot but in shuttermode the frames per second from the game needs to be higher than the monitor refresh to maintain sync. The performance will be very poor with this card and newer games though and it'll make it more or less impossible to maintain a reasonable refresh (and sync). :(
If you can have interlaced as an input for the revelators you can choose that as output for the iz3d drivers and then at least you'll have sync even with very low fps. I'm not too familiar if the revelator software does this though.

If you wants to run the 3d-vision drivers you'll need at least winvista an 8000+ nvidiacard and either the zalman monitor or a 3d-vision kit. Directx9 is supported (not all games) and dx10 will most probably be properly supported in the future. I don't know about 3d-vision and older directx though. :(
No older cards, older op-systems or opengl (maybe in future) are supported. The more powerful nvidiacard (8000+) you have, the better performance you'll get. I'm not clear if sli is supported yet but it will probably be in the future in case not.

If you wants to run the rig you have now with winxp and nvidia "old-school" you can have up to a 7950 card (not GX2 since sli wont work) for best performance. The 93.81displaydriver+93.81stereodrivers are slightly better than the 91.31combo. No pinmod ev needed (ev needed first at 162.15stereo or something close to it...). If you can run the 162.50stereo with newer forcewares it's only a bonus. 162.50 definitely needs a regtweak to display the "classic" controlpanel. The newer controlpanel has no display for stereoproperties using "old-school".
Old-school supports a lot of games (probably the highest amount of games in total compared to other drivers) up to and including dx9 (not all games) as well as some opengl games. If you're not into upgrading your hardware this is the best option for you.

Iz3d drivers works on both xp and vista but are a little more resourcehungry than nvidiastereo so i'm not really sure if this is a suitable option for you right now. Keep the computer if you can and when you can afford it, get a new one for playing newer games in 3d. Generally newer drivers supports newer games but lags backward compability. Iz3d drivers supports directx8 (not all games) and dx9 (not all games) and software/games that supports quadbuffered opengl. No plain opengl (maybe in the future) is supported. As for nvidiastereodrivers you can expect dx10 support in the future. These works with winxp and upwards + any graphiccard (ati or nvidia). You can run these drivers with the rig you have now but i'm very unsure if you'll gain more than from using "old-school". You'll get better compability with newer games but also quite some lag. It doesn't hurt in any way to have both installed. Be sure to disable the one you're not using for the moment. The better card you have, the better performance you'll gain. I single and powerful gpu card is best for the moment since sli is not properly supported. This is mostly on nvidias side though.

Sorry for the lengthy post but i wanted to put up a little "bible" on what's available. :D There are of course also some other solutions but these applies the most.

Well... !
What answer ! Thanks a lot for all this details. I didn't knew the IZ3D driver. So I will quickly try it this evening.
I realized that I didn't said everything : I own a 8800GTX in add of my 6000GT.
I tryed to install 3dvision on 8800GTX with Elsa 3d Revelator + Mistubishi 22" CRT monitor @120Hz in 1248*1024.
While installing drivers, wizard show me that i didn't have a compatible monitor. It's for this reason I specified my other setup (6600GT).
But maybe, as said in upper post, the nvidia IR emitter is required to work with 3dvision.
Maybe if I not satisfied by IZ3D driver I'll try later to get a 7900 for going with 93.81 driver...
In all case, thanks so much for your generous details. I learn more in one post than this last year of "google search" ^^'

The Elsa Revelator won´t work with iZ3D, because this glasses needs a driver-signal for
activating/switching from right to left. Just the hardware-controlled glasses (dongle) are
working. ED-Activator and similar progs are useless for the elsa-glasses.

As NV decided to disable the support of this glasses, there´s nothing you can do with it,
without adding new hardware. Only with XP and older drivers you can use it.

I used the Revelator-Glasses since geforce1-times and was very happy with the quality.

Now, i´v a iZ3D-Monitor and a new gfx-card is on the way. I can´t expect the arrival,
so as i must not work with the "new" control-panel anymore, as nv decided to kick the
perfect old control panel as well with vista and windows 7.
