Just noted one big flaw. One cannot set the launcher's videooptions to 120 hz, it has to be 60 hz. Otherwise the screen resolution will revert to 640x480. The 3D will function either way so I take it that the game is actually running the display at 120 hz even though the settings says something else.

But I am running the latest drivers, fact is I just formatted the entire drive and installed windows 7. The system of mine couldn't possibly be in a more clean state than it is. Aren't you having any problems with this game at all?

I Have The Stuttering Issues That A Lot Of Others Are Having Who Have ATI Cards - Except I Have An Nvidia Card. I Read A Forum That Stated That The Game Has A Lot Of Memory Leaks Throughout The Game World, Which Maybe The Issue - Or My Drivers (195.62). Anyway I Thought I Would Post This & Here Are My Entire Specs To Help & Compare:

Case: Antec 900 Two
CPU: Q9550 (E0 Version)
GPU: Zotac GTX 260 (216)
RAM: Geil 4GB DDR2 (800mhz)
MOBO: Asus P5Q SE (P45)
HDD: WD Caviar Black 640GB
PSU: Corsair TX 650 watt
OS: Windows XP SP3

Whoever Fixes These Issues I Extend My Thanks - The Game Is Great.

I have almost the same configuration (CPU, GPU) with Win 7. I had to set resolution to 1360x768 to reduce the stuttering. Regarding the mediocre graphic quality of the game this is quite astonishing... As mentioned before setting 120Hz caused the game to switch to a very low resolution, so choose 60 Hz.
In S3D I also had to turn off the shadows as they are at the wrong depth. There are also problems with the ligthing, spotlights cause irritating effects and there is some ghosting because of glow effects. I would rate the game as fair with S3D.
Besides from that the games crashes very often and because of the rare save points You have to restart the whole mission.
Even worse Pandemic doesn't exist any more so the chance of getting a patch that resolves the problems and bugs seems to be very low...
Personally I wouldn't recommend this game.

I also had the same problem with the refresh rate at 120hz from the options, but setting it to 60Hz was Ok with the S3D working.

I've noticed that when you are outside in open space the performance with stereoscopic 3D mode activated really drops a lot even on a high-end PC it may become unplayable because of the low framerate (the stuttering you are experiencing). You can even see it in the main screen of the game... 58 frames per second in normal 3D, but when I activate the S3D mode it drops down to about 15 fps on Core i5 750 and GTX 275 with high detail and 1680x105 resolution. Disabling shadows does help a bit, but there still remain some issues with lights as 3d4dd also noted. I'm a bit disappointed by the game in overall, not just how it performs in S3D mode...

After a bit of playing with the game settings and custom convergence I created a little guide and a custom profile: http://3dvision-blog.com/optimizing-the-ga...-for-3d-vision/

Try it and let me know how it works for you, just don't forget to lower the depth level to the minimum with the custom profile!

I Didn't Know About The 120hz Issue - I Use a 19" Monitor That has Support For Up To 75hz Only - I Will Try 60hz & See If It Makes A Difference. I Haven't Had Any Other Issues Other Than The Continual Stuttering (Much Like The Last Game I Bought a While back From The Same Company 'Mercenaries 2' & Even With The Patch They Released!) It Appears That Most Of That Game Came With This One Behind The Scenes In The Directory LoL.
I Agree With The Save Points (It Didnt Crash - I Died LoL) & Lets Just Hope That Wherever EA Dispatched The Staff Of Pandemic, They Let Them Take The Coding Of The Saboteur With Them.
On A Further Note I Use DXTweaker With Some Games To Enable Tripple Buffering If Vsync Is Enabled (Rainbow Six Vegas 2). I Might Give Some Other Options A Go With That (Not Promising). And Finally I Read Another Forum That Said That If You Use Less Cores Of Your CPU (Like 2 Instead of 4) It Can Help (Not Tried It Yet).

Anybody else getting really rubbish frame rates with this game?

60 fps indoors but normally about 34fps outside, running on gtx 295 and dual core e8400 clocked at 3.8ghz.

Thats without 3d on, game feels really slugish at times, think even if it was running silky smooth would not be a huge fan, seems mediocre for the time spent on it.

Yeah you bet, I get 27 fps top even without 3D. And the thing is that no matter how low I put the settings I still won't more then perhaps 30 or 31 fps. Something is terribly wrong and I was raging about it in the EA-forums but got banned. Apparently a lot of people have these issues.

My rig is built upon a GTX 295, quad core, 8 gigs memory etc.

I Have Found That The Saboteur Is Playable (But Not Fixed) On My Rig (Posted Earlier) If This Is Done:

1, Put The hz Setting To 60hz.
2, In The Config Settings Notepad (C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\My Games\The Saboteurâ„¢\SaveGames\Config) Type: "Windowed 1" Underneath Vsync Line But Without The " Each Side. This Puts The Game In a Windowed State. (Note: I Found This Small Fix, I Cannot Take Any Thanks Other Than Displaying It. But The Whole Thing Can Be Found Here: http://www.gamebrood.com/2009/12/04/saboteur-pc-crash-freeze-ctd-graphics-issues-change-language-fix-and-fixes/)

I Also Found Out That Turning Off Vsync Does Not Cure Anything On My System With This Games Issues. Also If You Do Find That This Fix Helps It Also Can Add The Tearing Effect Inside Buildings That Vsync Cures Even With Vsync On - However The Benifits Of This For Me (90% Stuttering Gone) Outweigh This Adverse Effect. But A Patch Is In The Works & I Hope That It Fixes More Than The ATI Problems They Are Working On. The Game Is Buggy No Matter What Setup You Have - Either ATI Or Nvidia.

Note: I Like To Use As Mentioned In The Previous Post That I Use DXtweaker For Games That Have Vsync Enabled. I Am Using It With The Saboteur But I Dont Think (I Dont Know) That This Helps This Hack/Temp Fix.

Surprizingly enough without 3D on the game runs great for me.. but with 3d on the framerate drops through the floor.. I have disabled as many programs as possible in win7 for it to work even playable..

I have 1 problem and its scoped weapons.. :( they look fine with the crosshairs on.. but the shots miss the mark all the time.. shame too.. I actually enjoy this game.

I've completed the main missions of Saboteur and have to revise some of the comments I've made before.
Unfortunately reducing the resolution or detail level doesn't seem to reduce the stuttering problem. Even with the lowest settings Fraps doesn't indicate 1 FPS more than with the highest settings.
So I had to play the fights and racing scenes in 2D.
But I enjoy making "sightseeing tours" in the virtual Paris with S3D. Now that every part of Paris has the will to fight the graphics changed everywhere from black&white to full color. So the graphics doesn't appear mediocre any more but offer a nice experience, especially when walking through the streets (and not climbing over the monotonous roofs). During daytime also the light issues are less disturbing so You can set depth to maximum - as long as You don't want to aim (lasersight at wrong depth! use the settings Bloody recommends instead).
The several crashes I've noticed seemed to be caused by another program. I had no problems with crahses any more.
I wouldn't recommend the game for playing the fighting missions in S3D but I appreciate it now as a virtual voyage to Paris ;)

With shadows Turner off, i got à smooth framerate at full settings,
also in fights framerate's still good,
this is pretty amazing in 3D.
Climbing the eiffel tower must have been THE
most exiting thing I have ever done with
3D vision, the sense off being so
high in the sky is really there, and you
really don't want to jump off, the
brain gets fooled.

Sorry for the necro'ing but must do it, this game deserves a 3D Vision fix. So I'm making a request, I hope talented fixers of 3DV community will consider this game. I know it's abandoned because of the evil EA and has some issues because of this. But it's still a great game. I play this time to time for years and still enjoying it.
