I tried to remember when I first encountered the stereo-mono switching issue so I could install the drivers that were released before I witnessed this issue for the first time. I tried drivers 347.88 now for nearly 2 hours without any issues. So here's hope that these drivers could fix the issue. But since the switching issue not always kicks in directly it is still possible the switching will kick in later. At least it is definitely worth a try.

The only thing I can offer is that I did a DDU install, and then set vSync to OFF in the NVidia control panel before running anything. I setup stereoscopic first, ran my update.bat (for 3D settings) then enabled SLI. Might be something in there, or some nuance of DDU sequence that helped, very hard to say. At the moment, every run of GTA5 and FC4 works, 3D enables, seems to run fine for me.

Update on the 353.06 experience. After rebooting today (no changes), both GTA5 and FC4 were borked in 3D. GTA5 launched with broken 3D each time. FC4 launched fine, and shadows looked good. Moments after I said "and look, even the tricky part of the shadows" they of course dropped out to screen depth. Then, no reboot, play with settings in control panel, oriented around performance. Now both games are running smoothly, no 3D dropout. Can't tell if it's just luck of the draw, settings, or something else. Definitely can't say that 353.06 is fundamentally broken though. I'll report back after more experience with it.

I should add that additionally to installing drivers 347.88 I disabled VSync via Nvidia Control Panel just like Bob recommended earlier (ingame I had VSync disabled anyway). So maybe this is playing a role here, too. This evening I am planning to play FC4 for at least 2 hours. If it's running fine during that session I may be tempted to consider the issue solved. I will give feedback later.....

Hold on on testing - i found what was causing all 3D to switch off. In my case this is the higher resolution. I was on 1440p and went down to 1080p - everything is fine right now on 353.06 drivers version. It sucks a little bit but i prefer that over 2D or CM. I bet that DarkStarSword have been talking something about it and i just forgot.

Ah, I knew this would bite me if I didn't fix it properly in 3Dmigoto. Open the d3dx.ini and find these near the bottom:

Played FC4 for 2 hours yesterday using drivers 347.88 and faced zero issues. No stereo-mono switching, no weird shadows. Since this was the second 2 hour session in a row without any issues using drivers 347.88 it seems these drivers fix the stereo-mono problem which is very fortunate for me since I experienced the switching issue with every newer driver and 347.88 is as far as I can get back with my Titan X (347.88 was the first driver for the Titan X).

Did that fix the stereo-mono switching or only the broken shadows issue, SKAUT?

That Anti Aliasing was for lift off shadows only. The Stereo switch off was fixed by deleting that last part of d3dx.ini file - wich was related to my higher resolution (1440p). I think that also might be the case if someone is using DSR-1440. What resolution do you rocking with ?

I am playing FC4 exclusively in 720p on my HMZ-T3! DSR is activated in Nvidia Control Panel but not active in Far Cry 4. While the 347.88 drivers seem to fix the Far Cry 4 issues I just found out that Mortal Kombat X which I also currently play in 3D Vision Surround is totally unplayable with these drivers. So if there is no other way I will finish Far Cry4 with drivers 347.88 but I would really like to be able to use a newer driver so I can also enjoy some MK X.

Yupp.. welcome to my world... EACH game with it's freaking driver...unreliable... yet...is the truth:( I want to play that? I need driver X I want to play the other? I need driver Y.. and so on... Annoying as hell.. but at least there is a "workaround" :) 2 minutes + a reboot VS no solution at all... is better than nothing :)
