After my first play through in CM which took 30 hours now I have completed my second run using Your great fix - this time I have played 140(!) hours :) Well, I shouldn't call it "run" as I have played most of the time ROTTR as a "walking simulator" moving in walking pace and admiring the landscape in beautifull 3D ;) So thank You again for Your work that offered me so many hours of enjoyment and one of the best gaming experiences I ever had!

So installing the Cold Darkness Awakened DLC forces me to use a newer version of the game? If I have installed the DLC can I afterwards still go back to version that is compatible with Your fix (loosing the possibility to play the DLC) or will I get stuck to the incompatible version of the game and not be able to play the old content with Your fix any more?
Sorry, missed this..
Yes, you can install the latest DLC on any version. Problem is on 610.1 is "incomplete" You can still select it in-game and play it, but you will see that is different than what it should be:( I think Nixxes made "half of the DLC" a patch and HALF the actual DLC as not the "whole" code if part of the DLC...
In any case, you can easily switch the versions (as described on first post) and select between the versions.;) Problem is on the version required for this fix the DLC is "incomplete" :(

If have played the Cold Darkness Awakened DLC. Although there are some improvements in the official 3D patch (lighting?) there are still too many issues for me (on many surfaces like snow, walls etc. there are texture layers at wrong depth). So I prefer to switch to CM when the community patch can't be used.
To do this You need an actual driver (like 364.72) with the ORIGINAL profile for ROTTR (not the changed profile for the community patch). With the profile manager add to the profile only this line:
Setting ID_0x709adada = 0x37f58257 InternalSettingFlag=V0
When You start the game there should be no message that the game wants to change the profile. If it wants to do that then something went wrong and the line for CM will be removed.
When You play the game make sure that in the game options 3D is disabled. Otherwise there will be a conflict between the official 3D mode of the game and CM. For me in some cases CM got messed up (using alt+tab, switching CM on and off, etc.). The most reliable way to get CM working correctly was to start the game in windowed mode and then activate exclusive fullscreen mode using the in game options. Then the emitter got activated and CM kicked in correctly. Make sure that in the registry StereoDefaultOn is set to 1. And don't forget to try to increase convergence when the game looks completely flat. But as usually CM doesn't offer much depth. Nevertheless I still prefer CM over the official patch with its remaining issues.
Regarding the DLC itself I had some fun with it as it offered a completely different style of figthing for me than the main game. The reason is that I don't like the fact that Lara has become a "mass murderer" of human beeings in the reboot of TR. So I tried to play her as "pacifistic" as possible. So I let Lara choke the enemies "unconscious" or use "narcotic gas" arrows and traps. When Lara had to shoot in fights against waves of enemies then she aimed only for the legs of the enemies not for the torso or even the head. So fighting against zombies in the DLC allowed me to make use of shotguns, Molotov cocktails, grenades, headshots, etc. Lara otherwise never had used. So it was something new to me and quite entertaining ;)

The Profile POSTED FOR the community PATCH already has a CM flag inside... So...
You can use the SAME profile but remove the exe (profile something.exe that is present in the later versions of the game) in order NOT to alter the profile...
That is what you really need to do...
As for the LAST DLC....pfff... NOT TOMB RAIDER!

Well, what is TR nowadays? The reboot from 2013 was the best 3rd person shooter of the year for me but the worst TR game ever. ROTTR points into the right direction but exploring, platforming and puzzles are still casual and underrepresented/optional. As long as the fighting focused game play is part of a DLC I can accept and even enjoy it - but I hope that is no outlook for future TR parts...

I don't know about the worst tomb raider game ever, because Angel of darkness was abysmally bad.
This game appears to have a major memory leak. I have 16gb of ram and the game crashes without fail after the avalanche cut scene complaining about lack of memory.
Anyone know the solution? I guess I just need to up my page file... but really?

Angel of "DEADED" is in the TOP of worst TR game EVER!:)) I really hope no other game will dethrone it;)
The last DLC wasn't that bad if you like combat but in the reboots this is what I disliked the most... I liked the stories in both games and I really liked the story in ROTTR. Is a good story for a Tomb Raider game (and poor story for an RPG but we aren't talking about a heavy story driven game here). What I enjoyed was the environment and roaming around doing a puzzle here, finding that hidden tomb there and the likes;)
As for the memory leak, nope no memory leak here.... For the record where are still talking about 610.1 or the latest official version of the game? On 610.1 I finished the game like 10 times already and never ever did I get a crash like that...

When I played Angel of Darkness about 5 years ago I was kind of positively surprised. The reason might be that I have expected much worse because of its horrible reputation and I have used cheat codes to avoid some of the annoying gameplay mechanics (stamina...). And don't get me wrong: TR 2013 as game per se was much better than AoD! But after the hype about the reboot I personally was very disappointed that many core design ( ;) ) elements of TR were missing or reduced to a minimum and just replaced by shooting. You did almost everything by shooting: Cross over an abyss? Don't climb, just shoot a rope arrow! Open a gate? Don't solve puzzles, just shoot a fire or grenade arrow!
ROTTR was a step in the right direction and I hope that the developers will continue this way in future titles.
Just out of curiosity: did someone of the fix team for ROTTR take a look at Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris? Could the experiences made with the ROTTR fix be used to fix this title, too?

Yes I am using the recommended version of the game for the fix. Crashes every single time with out of memory error at the avalanche cutscene in windows 10.
Will not be in the least bit surprised if I move back to win7 for the game and its not longer a problem.

Very weird there... Don't know what to say...have you tried different resolution? Surround vs Single Monitor?
The only crash I found was later in a game. If I would kill a Pig and want to loot it, the game would crash:)) Funny.
You should also try to re-check the game's cache... Who might never know...

After finishing DarkSouls 2 and waiting for a fix for DS3, I've got some time to play Rise of the Tomb Raider. The game looks amazing in 3D. Thanks a lot to everyone who was involved in fixing this game !!! You guys ROCK :)

Yes, but you need to read instructions thorougly since it requires opting in for specific beta version
hello,
I want to play the last DLC so with official 3d patch. But in the last version of the game, I only have SBS 3d choice not 3Dvision option. And when I hit ctrl T, game is freezing...

No idea there mate:(
If anything fails make a DDU on the drivers and remove the community patch. Also make sure you run the game as admin or the other EXE (something with profile) that comes with the game and is in the game's folder. That should set the driver to run in 3D Vision Direct.

Hello guys, I tried many solutions to play this game in 3D with this fix but they do not work. I don't know if it's me or a recent Nvidia patch. I change the profile of the game and the version, I put the files in the right directory but it does not work.
Pure hair are at wrong position and some vignettes or lights are not fixed.I tried many times.
The official patch is quite good but is not perfect. Have you tried recently with drivers 365.19?

Sorry, missed this..
Yes, you can install the latest DLC on any version. Problem is on 610.1 is "incomplete" You can still select it in-game and play it, but you will see that is different than what it should be:( I think Nixxes made "half of the DLC" a patch and HALF the actual DLC as not the "whole" code if part of the DLC...
In any case, you can easily switch the versions (as described on first post) and select between the versions.;) Problem is on the version required for this fix the DLC is "incomplete" :(

To do this You need an actual driver (like 364.72) with the ORIGINAL profile for ROTTR (not the changed profile for the community patch). With the profile manager add to the profile only this line:

My original display name is 3d4dd - for some reason Nvidia changed it..?!

Yes, but you need to read instructions thorougly since it requires opting in for specific beta version
I want to play the last DLC so with official 3d patch. But in the last version of the game, I only have SBS 3d choice not 3Dvision option. And when I hit ctrl T, game is freezing...

If anything fails make a DDU on the drivers and remove the community patch. Also make sure you run the game as admin or the other EXE (something with profile) that comes with the game and is in the game's folder. That should set the driver to run in 3D Vision Direct.
