Official 334.67 Driver Thread for New 3D Vision Game Support Feedback
  16 / 17
Thanks for the update Steve... I really like the new way you guys fix dx11 games this way... Sure.. I can agree with everyone that this is not the best way for fixing dx11 games, but I think it's very playable... Hopefully there will be some issues fixed like the hud and overlapping distortions (sorry about my lack at English.. :) )

It is nice to have this feedback from SteveK@NVIDIA, but what I really want to see is a driver/software release that allows us to make games fully configurable via convergence/depth settings. Lackluster 3D or "Fake3D" implementation will never cut it. I don't agree with anyone that says "well it is better than nothing" Why would I want something that tastes ok when you know you can have something that tastes great. We've already experienced tons of game titles in 3D by either full native support or community fixes...Nvidia, please cater to this!!!!!! Game developers that support modding have proven that it is popular and viable.......

Nothing official yet - most likely will see more game support announced in next driver release; followed by hopefully more games in the next after that with hopefully some of the refinements discussed here. That's about all I can say right now. So stay tuned, I will be release news as I can.
Hi, Steve. Thanks for keeping us informed! Any word on official 3D Surround support in the next driver?
Unlikely that we'll see this in the near-term, but it is possible further out. Focus for near-term will remain on adding new games, and a few additional changes that will be announced relatively soon.

@SteveK@NVIDIA: I don't like the Virtual-3D / Fake-3D. Will we get a checkbox to enable/disable the Fake-3D? Bioshock Infinite for example is much better with the Helix-Mod. Fixing Shaders is the only way to get proper 3D !
NVIDIA continues to focus on 3D and remains dedicated to improving its 3D Vision technology.
This simple statement will most likely sway my decision to buy my next upgrades to be from Nvidia. After not hearing anything for so long, I went with AMD and have been quite happy using TriDef for gaming. If not for cummunity fixes that I use in conjunction with 3D Vision on my older Nvidia rig, I wouldn't hesistate to repurchase a Radeon. So you guys should thank the community that people continue to purchase GTX cards for stereoscopic gaming. What I would like to see is.. Dual Passive Projection support without the need for an additional demuxer in the video chain. Thanks for breaking the silence around here and pointing out that Nvidia is still very much interested in supporting Stereoscopic Gaming. Long Live 3D Vision

Anyone with more than 2 cards can check whether now 3dvision works with more than 2 cards ? We know that earlier Nvidia 3d vision didn't benefit from more than 2 cards. I mean 3 way and 4 way sli had zero performance improvement over 2 way sli in 3D. What is the scenario now ?

I don't believe that's changed.

Tried Warframe and didn't like the fake 3D. There is simply no substitution for real 3D. That said it is a major improvement to vanilla! How are people here playing it?

For some strange reason these drivers are very sluggish on 3D vision ready titles (Alice Metro Last Light) Rollback to 331.82 and all is fine.

I've been trying to play AC3. It's definitely better than 2d, but the game itself is buggy and poorly optimised to begin with, it's a struggle staying above 30fps even with SLI 770s (tried in non-sli, same issue). 3d on/off has an impact of around 5fps.

I just registered to add my thoughts here as it's a little disappointing to see some the negative comments some people are putting forward. Sure this isn't as good as full S3D but the simple fact is that the developers didn't implement proper 3D support in their engines and so this is a lot better than the alternative which is nothing. The community fixes are great but definitely come with their limitations so it's great to see an officially supported solution even if it is lacking compared to real 3D. I'd like to thank nvidia for implementing this but also to re-affirm the position of others that there really is no substitute for full 3D and anything you can do to push developers to implement this properly is definitely the way forward - I'd say it should really be near the top of the list of features to implement is NV supported titles. As much as I love TXAA and other NV exclusive features added to games like AC4, none of them come anywhere near a properly implemented 3D. This depth buffer technique is very appreciated where there is no other option but as others have said, the danger to it that it becomes seen by Joe average as representative of proper 3D vision - which may turn off potential new customers. Changing the compatibility ranking and just getting more proper 3D support in new and existing titles is the best way to combat that.

Some comments are out the line though, but im sure SteveK and nVidia knows there are lot of people who love this virtual 3d feature. I actually gave just positive feedback, beacause the visible communioty is always the one that is not satisfied with the game/product/or whatever they are writing about. Yes, i think it also applies to feedback threads.:) I think the strongest suggestions are: 1: Make virtual 3d a toggle feature. 2: Game that uses this new 3d on default, should be rated "virtual 3d" or something like that.

We'd also like to see 3DTV Play have better support at 1080P. The current 24Hz restriction is terrible, 3DTV Play is a stereoscopic gaming middleware, so why are you limiting it to a Video playback refresh rate? Please take into account that Nvidia's stereoscopic drivers are what ultimately cause a lot of us to choose a Nvidia GPU instead of a Radeon. Hence, my purchase of a 980ti. 3DTV Play also needs official 4K support added via HDMI 2.0 and Display port.

Side by Side is needed for streaming in 3D using the Nvidia Shield or Steam Link. Also Side by Side is needed for Trinus VR and other apps used for VR Headsets using Smart Phones. First, many people are claims on these forums that I said we will never do these features, it will kill 3D Vision business, etc etc. If you have read my forum posts you will see I do agree that adding these modes make sense. We are committed to added support for both checkerboard and side/side modes in future drivers. Second, to answer your question about why its take so long - because we have a lot of features to deliver. If you read these forums there are a lot of features our users want and we have a priority list to get them all added. This will get added, its just taking time. I do understand that many of you are frustrated and want it now and we will do everything we can to get it to you as quickly as we possibly can. And to answer some users questions, yes I do read these forums I just cant read and respond to each thread as much I would like.

D-Man, I'm with you. This has been killing me for years. Unfortunately I doubt they will take any notice but they did say they were going to deliver these things. I appreciate development costs money but it's so frustrating that Nvidia are crippling this technology. To me, 3dVision is basically the only thing that Nvidia have that differentiates them from AMD and the efforts of the people on this forum are the only thing that keeps me loyal to Nvidia products. Clearly to them it's a 'legacy' product and historical commitments are worthless as they don't drive profit. Seriously though, it might be standard big business practice but shame on Nvidia. Since when did it become acceptable in life to make promises and not keep them? If we waltzed through our jobs behaving that way we'd soon be out of work.
