So, I have PM'd a few of you in the community asking you about your rigs, but I thought maybe a thread for everyone would get more info.
Currently, I have 780 TI SLI and 3x ASUS VG248QE. Its amazing. Skyrim and Borderlands 2 in 3D Surround were some of the most incredible gaming experiences I've ever had. But as time goes on, it is getting a little tiresome to manage Surround, 3D, and SLI issues in games. Of all those things, 3D is the one i dont think I can live without. So, i was thinking of selling two of my monitors and one of my 780 TIs and getting a projector and G-Sync kit for my remaining ASUS VG248QE.
For those of you with projectors, I'm curious what is the size of your projector screen, your viewing distance, and whether the 720p resolution at that screen size bothers you. How does projector 3D gaming compare to monitor 3D gaming? I imagine with no ghosting and higher framrates due to 720p reslution its much smoother. And with the larger viewing distance and screen size, you get greater depth and pop out. Is that accurate?
For those of you with G-Sync, is it worth it? I just think its cool technology, and I do play some games not in 3D where a tear-free experience would be nice. Especially if go down to one video card.
For those of you with 3D Surround set-ups, what were some of your most memorable gaming experiences that you don't think would have been nearly as good without the peripheral 3D monitors? I'm wondering if I need to get through a couple more games before giving it up.
Thanks for any input!

Basically almost every game since 2010 I played in 3D Surround. If the game doesn't have support I "add" it. I can't even think of not playing games in 3D Surround. 3D Vision on one monitor is nice (I use my laptop for that) but 3D Surround is a totally different thing....
If you want names:
- Mass Effect Series
- Dragon Age Series (DA 3 is just around the corner as well)
- Dark Souls Series
- DarkSiders Series
- Alice Madness...
- Metro Series
- Rage
- Wolfenstein
- The Witcher Series (again Witcher 3 is just around the corner)
- Dirt Series.
- Elder Scrolls Skyrim and Online.
- Resident Evil (4-5-6-Revelations)
- Castlevania Series...
- etc The list can go on... I need to basically copy- paste my steam games list:))
I can't really tell you what to do... But remember once you sold them they are sold.
Tell you what. Do an experiment. Pick a game and start from the beginning: Play 1h in 3D Vision on one monitor. Then Start the game from the beginning but in 3D Surround. Then you can judge if the effort is worth it or not:)

Haha. Thanks, Helifax. I was really hoping someone would say, "Hey, great idea! A projector experience is amazing! You'll have no regrets!!!" And then you come in and remind me about everything that is awesome about 3D Surround once you get it working.
Definitely, the Mass Effect, DarkSiders, Metro, and Witcher series' are all on my current backlog. And you're correct that i can test playing those on one monitor vs three monitors. But, the real comparison I am interested in is 3D Projector Gaming vs 3D Surround Gaming. My office/game room allows for a 92" screen from about 7.5' away. That's the comparison i'm interested in, and just trying to get as much info as possible before inevitably diving in anyways and either returning the projector, or selling the monitors after the fact.

My screen is at around 110' right now and I sit around 1.5 m away from it. The 720p does bother me as it makes the game look a little soft and no matter how much anti-aliasing you apply you still get some jagged edges. Also, as no AA at 720p is absolutely hideous, I feel the need to use high AA to get the image not looking really blurry (ex. in last light I'd leave the ssaa to 0 on my 1080p monitor but need to have it at 2xSSAA as it helps with the iq much more than high -> very high shift). No ghosting for me and I'm using DLP Optoma glasses.
Considering my monitor 3D is red/cyan I can't really compare the 2 as the projector is definitely superior.
Note: I consider myself a superior graphics enthusiast so IQ is really important to me. I can't stand sub 60 fps, neither can I stand any shitty graphics. The blurriness is probably not that bad, probably txaa type of bluriness which I surprisingly usually like due to its ridiculously effective temporal aliasing removal. That's the only time I'll go along with the blur but usually will sweetfx the game with some sharpening on top of the txaa.
Huh, just realized I never tried sweetfx with 3D games on my projector yet. Lemme test it out and see if that helps with the blurriness.
edit: Now I remember why I don't use sweetfx, it and windows 8.1 absolutely hate each other. Tried eFX, RadeonPro and it doesn't work. Oh well. I want to punch the dumbass who though of changing the way the dxgi device is called causing sweetfx and other shit to fail.
