I have measurements, saw both, hd66 and h5360, bet you saw neither (measurements), cuz you'd know eco won't help much, 2d eco mode is 1400 lumen, you want 7-800!

I see, so damned if you do, damned if you don't... :)
Are there any brighness pre-sets on the Acer? If one picks up a high gain screen, couldn't they just adjust the brightness for 2D and 3D and save them as separate presets?

Hmm...so whats the best thing to do here for 1 screen setup?
Go for a 1.0-1.2 gain screen and hope to find the middle for both 2d and 3D or go for high gain (1.4-1.8) and use eco mode for 2D?
Something like this with 1.0 gain - http://www.grandviewscreen.ca/product?pid=15
Or something crazy like this (1.8)- http://www.eastporters.com/estore/cart.php...p;product_id=94

rear projection :D , plus some darkening foil for 2d, ...or iris for hotshots : ))
Seriously, consider rear projection, sounds like you ve had placement problems, tought of projecting thru the door? Onto rear projection screen? I found some chinese "nanotube stuff", ~ 350 USD for 65" . Im goin to investigate it.

Ok, "stereo veteran" ppl tell me it should work. -
Hey I have an idea how to use this "puppy" with 1 screen. You have to put a polarizer foil in front of lense for 2d use, this cuts down 2D brightness to 0.3 , but once you switch 3d on, 90% of 3d brightness, should be there ( not the 0.3 modifier).
3d should ignore that 0.3 because of shutterglasses working principle. Good quality polarizer should be used though, might be around ~100 usd, so contrast wont suffer.
good scenario ( high gain screen)
1400 lumen ECO mode *0.33 ( polarizer foil), *2gain screen = ~800-1000 lumen

worse scenario ( white matte screen)
2100 lumen standard, *0.33 *1 (white) = ~ 700 lumen
