Nvidia 3D Vision 2 Ghosting / seeing triple images?
I've read about ghosting but I'm not sure if this is that or something different.
My rig is as follows:
Nvidia 3d Vision 2
Intel i5-3570k
GTX 680 SC+
VG278H (144Hz/120Hz with 3D Vision)
Asus Sabertooth Z77 mobo
In games and in the little 3D vision test program I get weird shadows around objects like the Nvidia letters in the test program. It produces two shadowy images on both sides of the objects. It makes games completely unplayable. My drivers are updated and I tried the USB Host controller fix but when I disable that it tells me I don't have the drivers installed. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like either you have a buggered monitor, the contrast way too high, or are just bothered by ghosting more than other people.
If you can take a picture of what you are describing through the glasses lens that would help.

Yep, that's ghosting. What you are seeing is the original image drawn for the wrong eye. For example, in the left eye, you'll see a faint image of the items intended for the right eye.
The 3D Vision test with letters and big spinning logo is a good test, because it's known to not have any progamming mistakes.
Maybe other users can comment on your VG278H in general, but it does sound like the contrast or brightness is too high. With LightBoost, you are supposed to be able to lower the brightness a fair amount.

100% normal, just typical ghosting. You are displaying pure black on near pure white, the combination of the glasses not fully blacking out, and the monitor and glasses not lining up perfectly makes a ghost image.
I use a VG278H too, you want the contrast no higher than 65, and Lightboost as high as it will let you. Also FNV inherently has quite a bit of ghosting because of the colour pallet.

Thanks for the help guys! It doesn't seem to happen with dark on dark so you're right there. It happens in the 3D vision test too but I'll play around with the contrast/brightness a bit and see if it helps. It's Fallout 3 but I'm assuming the same thing applies?

I've set my brightness to around 15, and my contrast to....65 I think, I'll check and update this post when I get home. That monitor is far too bright at it's default settings anyway.

I lowered the contrast on my VG278H a bit most of the time. Depended on the game. Tweaking the setting may give you a good compromise. I like a realistic brightness level, so i usually cranked my contrast up to 90 or even higher sometimes and just got used to the crosstalk. I tend to ignore it eventually, but then i had too, coming from a crosstalk heavy 1rst gen LCD. On the other hand, your eyes do adjust quite a bit to reduced brightness levels so try lowering it a lot too. Also, LCD displays exhibit much less crosstalk when its warm, so don't take too much notice when its cold.
