Mitsubishi WD-60737 5-star 3d experience with this tv
  3 / 3
My friend just picked up one of those Samsung LED DLP's and it burned out today lol, he got it used though, so who knows its history of abuse. Luckily for him it was under warranty and they are fixing it I guess, he got the TV on my recommendation, and after playing Fallout 3 in 3D! 1 convert so far, hopefully I can get more people into 3D as well.

So nobody with this TV is running the Harmony remote? I guess I could just go get one at Best Buy to use for a few days to test, and then take it back if it doesn't work...

Wow! That is terrible luck for him. Although, I agree that he is lucky to have it under warranty! I also agree about getting more people into 3D because the more, the better! Keep up the promotion of 3D for sure! I am doing the same. In fact, I paid for a friend to see Avatar in 3D at the theater so that they could see how great it is. Their reaction was very positive! In fact, they wanted to take the glasses home and watch 3D at home! lol :D I told them, "Sorry, but you will have to wait until later this year to be able to get 3D movies at home. The good news is that it isn't a very long wait! Summer is around the corner!" ;)

i have a 65 " Mitsubishi Dlp. I really like it. nothing better than surfing the web on this tv. I got it for 1050$usd shipped to my house! A Black Friday smoking deal off amazon.com! I highly recommend this tv for 3d- no problems at all setting it up and the 3d looks great. My only regret is not convincing the wife that we need the 85 inch dlp!

could anyone comment on how 2d windows applications are on this.
I am leaning towards this display, but i do use some 2d software on windows 7 for music creation.
I currently display on a philips 42 inch lcd using dvi-hdmi.
I am just wondering if i would need a second monitor for 2-d windows apps or if most users of this set find that it is usable as a 2 d display for windows.
just trying to see if I also should go through the trouble of dragging my desktop into the store to see if it is useable.
I noticed one thread comment from DanielJoy about web veiwing being decent, but I know in alot of browsers you can zoom to enlarge text which my music software may not be able to do as easily.

ps after sitting on the fence since 3d vision came out, i finally built a pc that could do it to replace my 6 year old desktop.
currently using the red blue discover mode.
thanks agin.

i use mine for my primary display- with no problems. i have personally never had a problem with any 2d application. I just adjusted the fonts and icons to suit my eye site and have no problems at all viewing anything at all- i never use the windows 7 magnifier. i hope this helps you.

yes it does thanks.
TIme to pull the triger on this thing.
I realized last night that if i do have problems with 2d stuff i can always hook up a second monitor and activate it for that stuff.
I'll report back on my experience once i get the set.

Ok done deal, at home and all setup, million times better than the 17 inch 100hz crt i was using.

I can crank depth up so much with zero ghosting in avatar it makes me crazy.
so far so good with this thing, well worth the investement for me. Blue ray, xbox360 look awesome as well.
just cant believe how awesome this DLP is working for 3d.

I do need to use the windows 7 magnifer for reading steam stuff from time to time as i sit far back (like 6 feet)
but for Web i can use browser zoom feater which makes text very readable.
my only complaint with my setup (which i have not looked into ) is i wish there was a 3d off- on button on the remote or i could do something with my harmony.
as it is a ton of button presses to get to it and turn it off anf on, and the remote is so tiny i have a hard timne with my bug fingers.
other that thaqt i am wicked pleased. thanks for everyones input as i was deceding on getting this.
I do not regret it.

Also want to mention to see if anyone esle feels this a little,
moving from a smal screen with small dpeth up to a 60 inch dlp where i can crank up depth, i found it kind of funny, after a hour of playing avatar at high depth last night, i went to our family room to watch normal tv with my wife and i could not stop thinking about "hey that object in the back round kinda looks 3d'sh, i bet in the game it would be about this far back in my dlp depth 3d."
I've been seeing 3d most of my life, now seeing it on the big screen i find it funny that i am constantly thinking about depth every time i look at a tv now.
