I really didn't understand that part you use a refresh mooding for choosing 30hz in the Nvidia control panel, there's only 24hz and 60hz available???
You need not do anything in CP, just set it to default 60 hz 1920x1080 (native). Make sure your in-game res is 1920x1080 and when game launches, you will be in 3D and page flip if you have set your samsung to page flip 3D mode ( the last 3D mode to the far right). If you use my mod, then you will also need to use picture correction in the samsung 3D section because L/R eye order is reversed.
I really would like to try out your modding, but I'm afraid I won't know how to get rid of the red message since I didn't understand that part very well, and not having Radioshack arround, not sure what parts to use??? I guess it's not just about virtual hacking, I need to buy separate parts and that's just to much information for me. If there was some tweaking to do with my Windows and softwares I would be happy to try out, but physical parts are another story. So, I'm frustrated since I would use checkerboard mainly, since page flipping is not the way to go like you said, and having a red message at all times just ruins the 3D experience.
Yes, it's really a shame that Nvidia did still another design blunder, the red message. I wish there was away to eliminate it other than a hardware hack. Personally, I would not tolerate the red message, but the hack is the only way I know of to eliminate it.

What about those who has a Philips 3D ready TV as I do?
Is Philips 40PFL9705H supported?
Does Philips support 1080p60? Or only 720p60?
I checked the on-line manual and there was no info except that it "does 3D". It must do 1080P 30 frames per eye framepacking (mandatory) but may or may not do 1080P/60 checkerboard, didn't say. It can't do 1080P 60 frames per eye framepack cause it lacks a dual link input.
Interestingly, it has 2x HDMI1.3 inputs which of course are an advantage if it does checkerboard. Philips is the only one I know of that does HDMI1.3 on a 2010 TV.

Thanks for the inf, that works fine. The problem I have at the moment is quite severe ghosting unfortunately. I've tried to follow recommendations from the thread at AVForums: http://www.avforums.com/forums/3d-plasma-tvs/1313358-samsung-3d-ps50c7000-crosstalk-ghosting-4.html but it seems that most of the post-processing picture options are disabled when in "dvi pc" mode.
Can you please share the picture setting you use for gaming? Did you have to downgrade to 2004 to fix the ghosting issues? I don't get much ghosting when doing 3d bluray, only with 3d vision, should I configure smth at 3d vision/nvidia level by any chance.
It's great to be able to play 3d vision properly on big display, but ghosting is diminishing the effect significantly at the moment :(

Now that I've been able to play a lot more 3d on my big screen, I've also noticed the huge amount ghosting/crosstalk.
It's definitely much more noticeable than on my Alienware2310.
After snooping around using the service menu, I noticed a few 3d options under the shop mode setting:
3D GLASS PULSE_S
3D GLASS PULSE_H
Anybody know what these do?
Edit: Would any other Samsung TV users be willing to post their experience concerning ghosting in 3d? I'm starting to consider my tv might possibly be defective.

Exactly same situation, but I've ruled out defectiveness because there's no ghosting in other 3d modes. To check you can try to test as explained in this thread: http://www.avforums.com/forums/3d-plasma-tvs/1359992-how-much-crosstalk-ghosting-has-your-3d-tv-test.html
With the settings from the previous thread, I'm getting 1,13,13,1 which is a pretty good results. So I'm wondering if there's just something wrong with the timing in checkerboard/page flipping modes :(

Guys, this is all very interesting and also confusing. We Samsung 3DTV's owners Plasma or LED can say that our TVs are awesome for watching any kind of 3D movies, bluray3D, side-by-side and any other format. If you watch a 3D video in your Alienware display or any other 3D display, the quality is far worse than what you get with your 3DTV, that's obvious.
Well, with games this situation is reversed, I don't understand why??? Games look way better in 1080p 23" than they look in 1080p 50" or 63". I know TV colours and brightness are much better than our displays, but the 3D quality is not the same, that's how I see it. Ghosting is about the same, it depends, some games have more ghosting using a 3D TV others with the 3D display. It varies....
Its funny though than when I'm watching bluray3D in my Sammy 63" Plasma I hardly see any ghosting, despite high contrast scenes with black background, that's inevitable. Games are a different story and it's not the TV to blame I think, it's related to Nvidia drivers, or IZ3D, Tridef or whatver driver is running the games.
That's why I mostly play games in 3D with my Alienware 23" and watch 3D movies using the 3D TV. Most games I use keyboard and mouse so TV is not suitable for me in those games. If I can play some 3D games with the 360 joystick then I can use the TV, but I hate the 1080p 24hz mode, it's sluggish. 720p 60hz does look grotesque like Roller pointed out.
It would be great if Nvidia give us back checkerboard mode in the next driver release. Then there won't be need for modding, red messages and hardware tweaking.
Nvidia, give us choice at least, cause for us PC gamers playing games in 720p in the big screen is not the way to go, graphics look ugly and console like and we high end PC users are used to sharp crispy graphics quality.

I also read here that this page flipping 3D mode gives you full resolution per eye, is this really 1080p 60hz per eye??? So, it's the same thing as if we had 3DTV Play 1080p 60hz??? Same quality, is that right???
page flipping of samsung is working at 60hz, but it has 30FPS limitation for each eyes, left is 30FPS ,rifht eyes 30FPS
i will tell u the grade of 3d quality among all technolgies of s3d
especially on samsung 3dtv
if when user changes into HDMI 1.3 s3d mode (generic crt, generic dlp mode) then user can not adjust sharpness option , i think it's value would be 0,so we have to see blurred screen, and we can not get s3d qulity as same as hdmi 1.4
anyway
all checkerboard modes r superior to 1280*720*60hz

Ghosting and other artifacts are greatly game related. For example, Modern Warfare2 has almost no ghosting, I don't see it at all unless I look for it (HDMI1.4 samsung 63" plasma, checkerboard).

Yes, I agree, most importantly the black tone option is turned off which makes most difference is grayed out. Did anyone find a way to enabled those options on hdmi 1.3?
I'll try to run with older firmware today which has strong evidence to have much less ghosting than 3000 series, hopefully that fixes the issue.

Is this based on your own observations, directly comparing plasma to LCD in your own viewing space on various games?

I have 3d LCD and Plasma both 3 feet in front of me, plasma has far less ghosting than LCD, the problem lies in the way lcd's refresh themselves. Somebody here last year shot an LCD refreshing in 3d at 600fps and slowed it down and it revealed the problem.

I really didn't understand that part you use a refresh mooding for choosing 30hz in the Nvidia control panel, there's only 24hz and 60hz available???
You need not do anything in CP, just set it to default 60 hz 1920x1080 (native). Yes, it's really a shame that Nvidia did still another design blunder, the red message. I wish there was away to eliminate it other than a hardware hack. Personally, I would not tolerate the red message, but the hack is the only way I know of to eliminate it.

Exactly same situation, but I've ruled out defectiveness because there's no ghosting in other 3d modes. To check you can try to test as explained in this thread: http://www.avforums.com/forums/3d-plasma-tvs/1359992-how-much-crosstalk-ghosting-has-your-3d-tv-test.html
With the settings from the previous thread, I'm getting 1,13,13,1 which is a pretty good results. So I'm wondering if there's just something wrong with the timing in checkerboard/page flipping modes :(

Cheers...

Frame packing 24hz(HDMI1.4) > page flip 60hz(30FPS) > nvidia checker board >=< tridef check board > iz3d check board > 1280*720*60HZ (HDMI 1.4)
especially on samsung 3dtv
if when user changes into HDMI 1.3 s3d mode (generic crt, generic dlp mode) then user can not adjust sharpness option , i think it's value would be 0,so we have to see blurred screen, and we can not get s3d qulity as same as hdmi 1.4
anyway
all checkerboard modes r superior to 1280*720*60hz

Yes, I agree, most importantly the black tone option is turned off which makes most difference is grayed out. Did anyone find a way to enabled those options on hdmi 1.3?
I'll try to run with older firmware today which has strong evidence to have much less ghosting than 3000 series, hopefully that fixes the issue.

Ghosting and other artifacts are greatly game related. For example, Modern Warfare2 has almost no ghosting, I don't see it at all unless I look for it (HDMI1.4 samsung 63" plasma, checkerboard).

I agree it's game related but I see the ghosting in 3d ready titles(metro 2033 for example) which has zero ghosting on my alienware so I'm hoping smth could be done to fix this
Ghosting/Stereo extinction issues are much more pronounced on LCD screens than on plasma. Just so anyone doesn't confuse this as being some sort of Samsung specific issue. High contrast games can exacerbate the issue but the problem lies mostly with the displays.

Is this based on your own observations, directly comparing plasma to LCD in your own viewing space on various games?

Erm, I know that, we are talking about sammy plasma here.

I have 3d LCD and Plasma both 3 feet in front of me, plasma has far less ghosting than LCD, the problem lies in the way lcd's refresh themselves. Somebody here last year shot an LCD refreshing in 3d at 600fps and slowed it down and it revealed the problem.
