What to do when LEFT-RIGHT is swapped? with Nvidia kit..
1 / 3
Hi
i know there is no hotkey for left-right swapping in the driver. (why?)
But what can i do, when some 3D app (like the Phoenix rc simulator)
show the left and right views swapped? Glasses upside down is not
so comfortable.
How can this occur?
thx

The eye swapping shouldnt occur.
Can you be more specific?
- What GPUs
- What driver
- What display are you using?
I have this problem on 3D Surround when two side Monitors switch themself into lower Refresh Ratio. Then i have to come back to normal mode and change it manually to have them all at the same value and go back to Surround.

The Surround issue may be a known bug we have. Is one of the side monitors out of sync? I can work around that.

Thanks. Can you try the NVIDIA test app? What you may be experiencing is not eye swap, but perhaps bad convergence if the game isnt profiled.

Eye-swapping regularly happens in certain games. Resident Evil 5 has required me to wear my glasses upside down for a couple years, across multiple GPUs, OS installations, and drivers. The game worked fine when it came out but weeks, or even months later, the eyes got reversed by something. And not just for me. http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=179728 I should note that this only happens in DX10 mode.
Not trying to hijack the thread tho, just want to try to get some official attention to the problem. And I think the OP is right, a hotkey or some way to quickly swap L/R eyes would be GREAT. Then when ppl have problems like this they wont have to post about it in a forum and sit and wait and hope that their issues are addressed. they can just push a sequence of buttons and quickly rectify the problem and then PLAY THE GAME, with the glasses rightside up, "The way it's meant to be played".

Andrew: the nvidia test app works like it should, without swapping.
No, it's not a bad convergence, trust me.
When i wear the glasses upside down, everything looks very good and real.

I am using a non supported 3D-Display and sometimes, after I turn on 3D-Vision within the game the eyes are swapped too.
There is a simple workaround to swap eyes in 3D Vision. All you have to do is turn on 3D-Vision ingame and switch it on/off a couple of times. The eyes get swapped a couple of times and you just simply stop on L/R or whatever you prefer.

I have both, side ones out of sync. It happens sometimes during gameplay. Just Cause 2 - when i switch to map view, which is only seen on middle screen others are off and after going back to gameplay their are soo messed up. Also i have this problem everytime when i restart computer. When i am going back to "Active all Displays" i can see that only middle screen is 120Hz the rest is 59Hz. I`ve been trying to force constant 60Hz didnt help.

thanks for your tip, i tried it, but unfortunatly it doesn't help.
I hit ctrl+t several times (maybe 20?) but L-R never was in correct order.
:(
Now i have to use dlp link glasses, so i have 50% chance for correct order /smile2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':))' />
Anyway a hotkey would be really good.
Another question, about hotkey:
i can switch off 3D with CTRL-T, it's ok. But what if i want to
start the game in 2D (70% of the time), and WHEN i want to play in 3D,
i enable it with hotkey. With legacy, XP stereo driver i can do this,
but not with 3d vision, because when i switch 3D off in control panel, i
cannot enable with CTRL-T. When i enable in control panel, the game starts
always in 3D. Any solution?

Hey, sad thing it doesent work for you. It does work on my display somehow, even though it got the option for L/R & R/L eye on the display itself.
You can start games with 3D disabled always and can enable it using ctrl-t if you like. Thats how I use to set my driver to.
Simply go to your nvidia driver-panel, go to Stereoscopic 3D-Settings and check if you have Stereo-3D enabled, then mark the option "Hide Stereoscopic 3D-Effects on game start". That should work for you.

@Andrewf
Do you realize how much it pisses me off to hear that kind of answer, "it shouldn't happen!"
Well maybe instead of Nvidia saying "it shouldn't happen," give us the simple solution that EVERYONE ELSE DOES, and provide a left-right swapping switch!!! WTF freaking ayyyy, why do you keep messing about with this issue. It's obviously a consistent issue!!!
This issue is all over the internet, and there is no answer to it, STILL!!!. I see it in forums from 2010, I think one in 2009. THIS IS 2013 NVIDIA, STOP F#$%^&* AROUND AND GIVE US THE SWITCH!!!
It's a SIMPLE solution, a switch on the glasses, maybe even within the Nvidia video cards YOU DESIGN.
HELLO, NVIDIA, YOU DESIGN THESE THINGS!!! ARE YOUR ENGINEERS INCAPABLE OF ADDING THE SWITCH FOR SWAPPING LEFT AND RIGHT, ARE THEY SOMEHOW UNDESERVING OF THOSE IVY LEAGUE MASTERS AND PHD'S? DO YOU HIRE INFERIOR DESIGNERS?! CAN YOUR PROGRAMMERS NOT ADD THE SWITCHING UTILITY IN THEIR GRAPHICS CARD CONTROLLER PROGRAMS?!
WHAT THE H IS THE HOLD UP WITH YOU PEOPLE???!!! WHEN I PAY NEARLY $2000+ FOR DECENT 3D GAMING FEATURES, I EXPECT IT TO WORK!!!!
At the very least, the very very least, there better be a fix, a utility, an app, A SWITCH.
Only thing I can say is I'm glad I'm still within the 30 day return window for my Newegg-bought BenQ monitor, that is, by the way, on the list of approved monitors for Nvidia 3D Ready.
At this point, I'm thinking a 3D TV would be better because right-left swapping switches have become rather standard with them, and guess what, they're about half the price for the same size and 1080p resolution as this monitor here, and come with about twice the features. If only I had known this before buying this monitor, I might have saved money.

There is a simple workaround to swap eyes in 3D Vision. All you have to do is turn on 3D-Vision ingame and switch it on/off a couple of times. The eyes get swapped a couple of times and you just simply stop on L/R or whatever you prefer.
Hope that helps.

thanks for your tip, i tried it, but unfortunatly it doesn't help.
I hit ctrl+t several times (maybe 20?) but L-R never was in correct order.
:(
Now i have to use dlp link glasses, so i have 50% chance for correct order
Anyway a hotkey would be really good.

Now i have to use dlp link glasses, so i have 50% chance for correct order
Anyway a hotkey would be really good.
Any solution?
thx

Hey, sad thing it doesent work for you. It does work on my display somehow, even though it got the option for L/R & R/L eye on the display itself.
You can start games with 3D disabled always and can enable it using ctrl-t if you like. Thats how I use to set my driver to.
Simply go to your nvidia driver-panel, go to Stereoscopic 3D-Settings and check if you have Stereo-3D enabled, then mark the option "Hide Stereoscopic 3D-Effects on game start". That should work for you.
Hi Kenion,
thanks for your tip, i tried it, but unfortunatly it doesn't help.
