Force World of Warcraft to b e Full Screen to Use 3D Vision
1 / 2
I'm highly annoyed.. World of Warcraft stopped allowing full screen, just windowed full screen. Well, 3d vision won't work with games not in Full Screen.
Anyone have ideas on how to *force* Warcraft to be full screen. The option in game is totally gone - their support said it was because of DirectX 11/12. Worked before they removed it, and loved it. So this is aggravating. Any tips tricks or sneaky things I can do please reply or message me.
Many thanks in advance!

I can't stand this trend to remove exclusive full screen from games.
May be the force fullscreen option in migoto is a solution? You can try it:
full_screen=0 ==> full_screen=1
This is new to me and so I'm reading as fast as I can on it. where is Migoto ?

3Dmigoto is a .dll mod, so using it could get you banned by Blizz. As a result, none of us have tried it yet as far as i know. It may be able to force fullscreen in DX11 mode tho.

I made a fix for this game with 3dmigoto before they removed fullscreen that I abandoned due to not being able to get the software mouse to render in 3D even without a fix. (just shadows were remaining to be fixed) When I get a moment I will try it since I don't really play the game. But I've already spent hours running 3dmigoto and did not get banned.

Blizzard does their bans in staggered waves to make it harder for botters and other cheaters to tell which program/bot/cheat got them banned, which makes it harder to say with certainty that 3dmigoto is safe based on your experience.
In all likelihood, it isn't causing bans (at least currently), but .dll mods *are* technically against the ToS, so it would really be better if we could find a different way to force fullscreen using similar techniques (assuming that 3dmigoto even works).

I'm pretty sure DX12 supports 3D in windowed mode and it might be very slow or pretty broken without some profile tweaks but I would give it a try anyway.

Just tried the game today on DX12 and 3D works in borderless windowed mode. Too bad it has the same DX11 issues found in older expansions.
You can fix water by lowering the quality but dynamic shadows are broken and can't be disabled completely and then there's the 2D UI and some point lights broken as well. At least it's still playable with a low 10-20% separation and high convergence.
This might be the first game I play in 3D on DX12 if it doesn't have more serious issues.

Yeah problem is no one will be able to fix it anyway since 3dmigoto doesn't work with Dx12
So I assume you can't get it to work in dx11 at all?
Otherwise I would give you my fix, that resolved all those issues apart from the Shadows (which I had disabled) and the software mouse. Does that work in dx 12 btw?

Well I haven't even tried DX11 after reading all the comments lol but I think nobody gave SpecialK a chance to force exclusive fullscreen mode?
There's no setting for software mouse cursor or anything similar on DX12 either.
Edit: On second thought I'm kinda wary of using SpecialK with Blizzard's advanced anti-cheat system since no one seems to have tried it before in WoW and besides, it's kinda cool playing in borderless windowed mode cuz I switch to my browser a lot in this game. It looks okish with every setting turned on except max quality shadows.

Wait. Wait. Did they *seriously* finally fix 3D shadows in the same patch that they removed 3D support/fullscreen? It's hard to tell from that screenshot, but they don't look broken o.O

How did you get WOW working in 3d vision with DX 11?
Would you mind providing more detailed instructions, thanks for any help.
