You should be fine with the dual monitor set up, just bare in mind, the monitor you want to use for games has to be the primary monitor, so if you are playing 3D on the Acer and then want to play 2D on the old monitor you will have to go and make it the primary monitor. Good job the Acer is good at 2D gaming tbh.
Also some things like desktop icons may start moving around and certain programs may start behaving differently, basically when I took on 3D, I didn't realize I would end up having to tweak for 3D, dual monitor and SLi.. There's a lot of things that can go wrong in that combo  .

Allright ill keep that in mind. My pc is connected with the 24 inch samsung, Acer and an Optoma projector. Im using the triple view option. So if i want to browse with the samsung ill drag the website to the left side.

Ok.. been playing Bad Company 2.. the game rocks.. with 3D it is nice with the Depth effect.
When you are using the glasses, you lose alot of brightness. so the screen will be darker than normal.
In BC2 i dont get the pop out effect either... just the depth changes, it makes the game better and fun to play.
If you change the Depth amount too much, the ghosting will get worse.

i tested the Nürburgring 24 Hour Race 3d video. Very nice, you actually see the little stones when the car is in the sand go in the air and hit you in the face.
Same effect when they are opening the bottle of champagne. Very nice. Hopefully they will release movies soon like this.

Ok ive been using the Acer monitor for awhile now. I don't have any complaints about the screen. The 2D web browsing is o.k. You will get used to it. I think the contrast is higher compared to my samsung monitor. Right now im using the acer to type this post.
My experience with the 3d Vision:
Well as i said before the pop out effect wasnt there at all while playing games. I think in Street fighter and World of Warcraft i saw the character hands pop out a bit. The video of the car racing on the other hand had a good pop out effect.
When you are using the 3D glasses you lose alot of brightness and the image becomes darker. I don't like that so much. Playing games with a depth of 15% is the default setting. If you change that to a higher setting you will see more "ghosting", so
it isnt really a good idea to change that at all. If you change the depth to a higher setting the objects will go further and the "3D" effect will be better, but it is not playable with all that ghosting. With the 3D vision enabled the framerates will drop massively as if one gpu is not enough to have a good gaming experience. Ive tested one 3d ready game "Bad company 2" the 3D was nice, but as i said before the gtx 260 is not enough for a smooth gameplay at my resolution. Other games im testing are Half life, Street Fighter, Devil May cry. Half Life 2 has a "good 3d rating", the 3d effects in the game are not so impressive yet, have to test it more. Street Fighter has more 3d effect in the background and sometimes while doing an ultra or super combo. Playing a dark game with the glasses must be a pain because you lose alot of brightness. I cant imagine playing doom 3 with the 3d on. Although metro is also a dark game, i heard good things about it.
My overall rating for the 3d experience in gaming is a 7.
Pros:
- Nice depth effect
- Battlefield was more fun to play.
- 3d movie trailers looked very nice
- Game replay value increases
Cons:
-Less brightness
-Alot of GPU power needed
-Ghosting
-Got to wear glasses
-Games not fully optimized yet, only a few with 3d in mind.

Was just going to add about ghosting and depth that only games that ghost bad make the ghosting worse with depth increases; it just becomes more apparent as the ghosts become farther apart. There are some games that don't ghost at all and you can crank the depth way up (some people here play at depth maxed some used to hack the drivers to go FURTHER than max depth ... I cant handle it past 50% personally). Also you, in most games, should adjust your convergence to get more pop out effect (you may already know of this).

i'm familiar with the depth adjustment, but not with the convergence, dont see that in the nvidia control panel or is that a button on the glasses?
I really would like to know which game can handle the depth cranked up to 75 % without or with very little ghosting. All the games i tested work better with depth at 15%. Im going to try bad company with higher depth now. The 3d ready rating should allow me to do at least that.

I did mention before that the Acer was tiring on the eyes at first, but now i got used to it. It aint a bother anymore to use for a long period of time. I have it set as my primary display with my samsung next to it.
After alot of thinking whether to buy this monitor or not, i'm satisfied with my purchase. The 2D quality isn't top notch as my samsung, but i can live with it. Just like Appelsap mentioned. It is decent. And it offers slighlty
less ghosting than the Alienware. If you like the stylish look of the Alienware and the extra connections go for it. The 2D quality should also be better. I still think that these monitors are not yet well built with all that ghosting.
Yes, Im talking about the Acer, Alienware, Samsung, View Sonic. If you want to wait, wait and see what the Asus has to offer in May/June.
For now the Acer is the one with less ghosting. For gaming that is a nice plus.

Burnout Paradise is a must to try. You can crank the depth alot. Very cool "3D" effect. I like how the road becomes more real with the depth effect.
You can crank the dept alot and the ghosting is ignorable. This is the first game were i changed the Depth so much and it still was playable. ( Qua Ghosting)

Neither you have to do it via shortcuts on the keyboard.
The default convergence keys are ctrl + f6 to increase and ctrl + f5 to decrease. However, you will first need to go to the "set up stereoscopic 3d" part of the nvidia control panel
and click the "set keyboard shortcuts" button then click "show advanced in-game settings" dropdown thingy (lol) then check enable advaned ingame settings.

Aqua.. You need to try NFS Shift, It's the 1st game for me that has justified the cost of my 3D set-up. Make sure you use in c0ck-pit view as it just adds to the immersion feeling.
Also could I ask you to contribute to these 2 threads http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=165938&hl= http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=165939, with your wealth of knowledge, I think you could make a valuable assesment /thanks.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thanks:' /> . I have little free time at the moment, but I have a long lst of games to trawl through to add to the lists.

Also some things like desktop icons may start moving around and certain programs may start behaving differently, basically when I took on 3D, I didn't realize I would end up having to tweak for 3D, dual monitor and SLi.. There's a lot of things that can go wrong in that combo  .
Just giving you a heads up :).

The 3D gaming does really give you an excuse to have SLI. COD MW2 fps went down from 55 fps to 25-30 fps and that game isnt even that demanding in gpu power.
Good marketing plan by nvidia.

PS.: I thought the Acer would suck more in 2D text, web browsing etc, so it is not as bad as i thought initially.

Depth at 55 % i think or slightly higher.
