Make sure 3d vision is turned on in the nvidia control panel, which you get to by right-clicking your desktop. Under nvidia control panel you should also be able to enable advanced settings which will unlock convergence. Make sure you check out the keyboard shortcuts as well to set them to your liking. Then pull one of your games and wait til you get to the menu screen, and from here you should be able to tell if 3d vision is already enable since the image will be normal or doubled. If it is not doubled, hit ctrl + t to turn it on. Turn on your glasses and from here you can mess with your depth and convergence settings with the keyboard settings you set earlier. You will notice a bar represents the changes you make to the depth settings, but not for convergence. Convergence is what allows for pop-out affects, so when your changing the settings you will notice the image will eventually split. Once you are happy with the depth and convergence for your game, hit ctrl + F7.

The light on the glasses does not have to stay on for them to actually be on. Make sure there is nothing in the way of emitter too. Once you manage to get everything working you will be happy you made the purchase.

Just a few questions: What video card do you have? What operating system? When you go into the Nvidia control panel do you see that "Stereoscopic 3D" in enabled? Maybe you have the wrong drivers, make sure to get the latest ones (190.62 is working nice for me). Make sure there is nothing wrong with the USB cable. Your best bet is plugging the emitter USB into the back of your computer directly to the motherboard (ie not on the front USB ports, etc.). Did you do the Nvidia test application and/or medical test? Did you pass the 3D Vision install Wizard (the test with the square and triangles)?

yu will have to change the depth manually. either using the scroll wheel on the emitter or using the ctrl+ f3 and the ctrl+f4 to increase and decrease the depth.
For convergence you have to make sure that the advanced shortcut keys (in Nvidia control panel under 3d vision) are enabled and then use ctrl+f5 to decrease convergence and ctrl+f6 to increase convergence.

you're smart enough to figure out how to make 3d vision work. Give it a try.

You are assuming that someone who is too lazy to take the time to put vowels in his typing somehow has the tenacity to set up a new and shiny toy? Obviously the easy solution is to wave a dollar at the neighbor and get him to do the work for you.
On a helpful note: If the 'cloud depth' you speak of is the bloom around the lights in certain games (I had problems with it in Fallout 3 with my crappy 8800GT), you can go into the game settings and turn off "Full Screen Bloom Effect" and it will improve your 3-d experience. At least until you either upgrade your video card, or get ballsy enough to mess with your convergence to make it look good.

yu will have to change the depth manually. either using the scroll wheel on the emitter or using the ctrl+ f3 and the ctrl+f4 to increase and decrease the depth.
For convergence you have to make sure that the advanced shortcut keys (in Nvidia control panel under 3d vision) are enabled and then use ctrl+f5 to decrease convergence and ctrl+f6 to increase convergence.
