#seta g_gunY -0.6
#seta g_gunX -0.1
These console commands were mentioned in the Doom 3 BFG thread, perhaps they'll work in BF3?

Nah. Didn't work.
Well worth a shot though :)

Hello mate
That's not the one. That controls the convergence when you are zoomed/looking down iron sights. (A very handy control all the same!)
It is the default view, where you see the gun at the bottom right of the screen, which is the problem. Increasing the convergence to anything remotely acceptable for 3D gaming causes the gun to pop out far too much. Anything less and the convergence is so low it looks flat and makes my eyes feel funny; almost like they do when I try to game in 2D. :([/quote]
You are right. It is only for zooming/scope. I need to recheck how bad/good this thing is when i get my gear back up and running.

The only bad of convergence in 3D Vision is not just player weapon, you still have near walls, near players, near foliage and objects that suffers from the same.
Rise the world convergence as you want, fix the weapon convergence. Now face a wall, or stay very near a players NPC... you will have the same old problem.
TriDef dont have this problem, it's 3D is convincing and confortable, but it still have some bugs in this game, at least for me. Otherwise, what i got is more than enough to state its superiority.

@Donnovan: You've said a similar thing in other threads, and I don't think that is correct. It's not Tridef that is making it more comfortable, you have it configured wrong.
Most of the people on this forum use 3D Vision and we do not suffer from an uncomfortable experience, or we very likely wouldn't continue to play. I've played for as long as 10 hours in 3D Vision, and there is no discomfort.
It seems to me that you have both the convergence AND the separation cranked up. You can really only do one effectively. If I'm not mistaken on Tridef, they change them both at once, whereas with 3D Vision you can set them independently.
Try this: Turn separation down to 20%. Then set convergence to a good view. You mentioned you like toyification, so go with that. Then, and only then, change separation to higher if you feel it needs more.
If you are playing a 3rd person view, I've found it to work well to set the player character at screen depth. Take your glasses off, set separation to 20%, then turn up convergence with Ctrl-F6 until your player image double character becomes one (at screen depth).
