That's a good idea, do you know of any that work with source, keeping in mind they'd also need 64bit support?
Also I'd imagine those kinds of tools could easily be used to cheat. I know there are no certainties with this kind of thing, but is this something that's likely to result in multiplayer bans?
Just a status update here.
I just added my first actual feature to the tool, which is to enable the F10 feature of reloading all shaders from the ShaderFixes folder. This allows you to alt-tab, edit a file, alt-tab, F10 to reload and see the effect. This is generally a huge benefit to understanding and hacking around experimentation.
Nice! I'm going to have to take a look at this, I've made some major changes to BSE over the past week or so ... It's turning out to be an almost complete rewrite, but it's becoming much more efficient at zeroing on a specific Shader, especially when dealing with the 'Unknown' Shaders ... It would be great if I could get it to work with both HelixMod and 3DMigoto.

Flugan put up a message for compatibility testing with 3Dmigoto, and I'd like to also point people to the Wiki that I'm keeping updated.

You, yes you, can help out here. Please run 3Dmigoto against your DX11 games, and hunt for shaders. Let me know what you find, and I can update the Wiki. Does it crash? Does it do nothing? If you use the Numpad 2 button and cycle pixel shaders, do they blink on and off? Please feel free to post your results here.
This helps us all, because we can see where to put our effort, and also lets us know how stable/useful the wrapper is. Right at this second, it's less than useful, because we have yet to fix another game past Bioshock. We are getting close though, never fear. But also, please don't hold your breath. :->
I think we will be able to do simple fixes like disabling shaders, or changing the depth of the crosshair fairly soon. Fixing shadows is quite a lot harder and is missing some key features to make that work we think.

I didn't think sleeping dogs was that bad with renderer tbh. The only real problem was hud icons. Like if it was me I would of disabled the "icons" outside of mini map in corner. Like if X/Y =/= Not equal [min-map coordinates box] then disable icons.
I tried strider just out of curiousity and couldnt get debugger to dump/show. Could of did something wrong though. Will read more about it later.

If you want my opinion. Your probably better off focusing on easier issues till you get the hang of everything. Not everyone is Helix and focusing on game with extreme issues especially shadows will just cause frustration if you work on them at early progress. Anywho these are games that have simple issues.
Strider, Dragon Age 2, Metro Last Light, Call of duty Black Ops 2/Ghosts, Titanfall, WarFrame, Lost Planet 2*I think*.
Then games that need tweaks
Sleeping dogs[Mentioned above]
Thief just needs a smoke effect/crosshair removed
Civ 5 would benefit from 2 different convergence settings
Max Payne 3 [water]/ 2 different convergence settings

Sorry about that. You can download this pre-built Zip file with the best current release:
https://github.com/bo3b/3Dmigoto/releases/download/0.54-alpha/3Dmigoto-0.54_alpha.zip
It unzips 17 files into the game folder (yeah, too many files, we'll trim it down).
Some details on how to use it:

Thanks for taking a look.
Tested: Saint's Row IV.
Observations:
Instructions here say to use a 360 controller, but I could only cycle through shaders with numpad keys, so that probably needs updating in the doco.

It only worked once I deleted the SR4 profile to kill off the fake 3d. This will unfortunately negate the benefits of other driver-level fixes for games, and kill the SLI profile. Is there another way to disable fake 3d without deleting the entire profile?
Game took over 5 minutes to launch, just sat on a black screen. This happened every time, not just on the first launch.
I played through the first mission. Almost everything was black, except fog, hud and a few miscellaneous lights. Had to navigate by silhouette until I found a lighter area (where I was climbing something, everything was too messed up to tell what it was).
Once there, I tried browsing through shaders. I was able to do this with no problems.
Everything looked pretty messed up. Probably the most broken I've ever seen a game in 3d. But the fact that I could cycle through shaders seemed extremely promising.
Is there anything specific you'd like me to try?

@pirateguybrush: Awesome! Thanks for doing this testing, this really helps the development.
I updated the Wiki to say the default is now keyboard. XBox controller is still available, but didn't seem to be universal enough.
Also, the slow launch is normal with these debug setups. There is no shader caching, and it generates a new .txt file for every shader seen, so it's doing a lot of work. It's a pain, but we need to do this to avoid confusing cached shader problems after we fix some bugs.
I don't know that we know enough about the new fake-3d profiles to know how to disable them. I don't see anything in NVapi, so it might be some new mechanism. In any case, we don't lose very much from their profiles, they tend to be pretty busted in general. It's still worth assigning a game to known better profiles like Aion as a start. Gets rid of the fake-3d, might help make starting point better.
If you can put the ShaderCache folder and the log files on my ftp site, that will be helpful. (PM sent) I can look at the log to determine what might be causing that mostly black screen. Probable bugs left in the shader decompilation.
Nothing more needs to be tried there, this is what I'm after at the moment- whether 3Dmigoto is loading in the game, whether it crashes, and whether it can hunt shaders. That means we are actually pretty close to functional.

Please, if someone could help me out I would greatly be thankful.
I can't get the 3dmigoto mod to work for bioshock infinite. Everything has a really bad double vision effect (not like ghosting) and the convergence is locked. I followed the 3dmigoto install guide very carefully so I just don't understand what's wrong.

You are possibly using the 3Dmigoto from github release, which has a default setup for finding and fixing shaders, and is not set up to to actually play the game.
You are also probably better off to use the HelixMod for BI:

I also appreciate your recommendation to target simpler fixes first. I really agree that is probably the best strategy. We need to be able to do simple fixes like disabling bad lights or removing the HUD icons in Sleeping Dogs before we can likely get into harder fixes. And man, those HUD icons are annoying in Dogs.
3Dmigoto seems to run well enough in Sleeping Dogs, that I think someone might be able to make fix there. I need to focus upon the code itself instead of the fixes, but if someone wants to give it a try, this is a good one to try.
I'm focusing mostly upon AC3 though, under the assumption that whatever we learn here has long term value, and it being a top pick. Too be honest, every game is freakin' hard at the moment, so this seems as good as any. The 3Dmigoto decompiler seems to have problems with every game outside of BI.
I'm not going to be able to fix Shadows, that's clear. But I think I can make the tool work smoothly enough so that someone smarter than me can possibly make progress.
