No one even contacted him about Indiego either. He doesnt come on NVIDIA forums besides yesterday. I contacted via email several weeks ago with some questions and I brought it up and he didnt know of it.
I think the main issue is no one tried to reach him.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In regards to lua script. If you contact Helix about anything about working on his script. He will help you. No matter the odds of people understanding he tries to make it simple for everyone. [Not sure how he feels about selling. Perhaps Donations]
Please do not say that helix hides anything. He hides nothing when asked. Everything I know, everything I've learned through shaders. Is his code and his explanations, I even use his lua script for my Unreal Engine projects.

I really doubt that Helix did anything against you guys. Bioshock was the first massive game that was broken and couldn't be fixed. I am sure helix has been working on this for a while now. Your bioshock patch only became known a few weeks ago. Was helix really supposed to just shut his work away becuase someone else wanted to make money from it? I find that highly questionable...
You say that It comes as no surprise that Nvidia is giving up as there are only 100 people willing to pay. That is clearly rubbish. There are thousands of nvidia 3D kits sold. Over a million even. If people didn't want to fund something that didn't even promise to be completed, that doesn't show a lack of faith in 3D... It shows that there was a lack of faith in your campaign.
The fact that you are not giving the work you have already done also should compel any rational person to see that you only intended to make money from this. Considering the vague mission outcome, I personally find that incredibly disconcerting. A lot of people offered more money then they seem to be able to afford, so that your work becomes public. It is a shame that you guy's don't share the same alturistic attitude. You could accept that there is not a business model here, as another is willing to work for free, but you could still accept the 4-5k donations and share the project.
Also, i personally think your thinly vailed attack of a guy who has provided this community with endless help and support and has saved 3D gaming to this point to be simply outrageous. Any good will that has been earnt will surely quickly be lost with that attitude. Without helix mods, you wouldn't have even raised the 4k you did. We owe him so bloody much. He was always there offering the best games in 3D for free, so you shouldn't have such acidic thoughts towards him when he released a 3D patch for a very popular game for free. That's what he has always done. Why should he change becuase you want to make a business model out of this? Absolutly unbelievable.
You say that without an in depth manual, helix's mod can not profit the community. All I have seen on helix mod, is lots of help to newcomers fixing games. Half of the fixes are other people using his tools.
On your campaign you stated you would not have the time to help anyone using your tools, write a manual or any kind of wiki. But you charge 5k for that... Now you're not even releasing your work? And how exactly are you guys helping the community?
You say you pulled the plug becuase of helix, or 'the god' as you sardonically call him... Well wow, just wow. One person makes you say a big FU to the entire community. One person made you shit on the 100+ backers of your business idea? And you think you are in a position to critisise Helix?
I would have expected such a mentality from someone from the US (sorry american friends, just mean the corp mentality) but not from Switzerland.
What a way to end a campaign that was built entirely on the good will of the community here. What a trully bitter end to 'helping the future of 3D gaming'. Never have words sounded more hollow.

Easy now... Things are emotional but they did handle it well. They arent trying to cash in or anything.
I didn't think this situation would end well but to be honest they handled it very well.
Everyone needs to think real hard, before they say something.

Well, if you would have done this as a "donation-only" project, I'm nearly sure, helix would be your best friend now and you could help each other.
But this "only if you pay" in our faces gives hickups for some people. So I can understand Helix's release. We live in a cruel world where everybody only wants our money. What about helping each other without any charge?
I guess if helix would have a donation-button, there would be more than 100 people donating. Surely not that money-amount but more people.

Hi Elbarterino
With all due respect I'm confused. You are so close. Somebody today suggested donating the difference if you were short . NOBODY wanted you to quit bruv. That's because two solutions are far better than one. Write the tutorials etc. Lots of people here clearly want them. Do this.
Frankly, knowing Helix11 is imminent is awesome news; Helix plus indigomod it's awesome with a f'ing 99 on top if you ask me!
All the best mate! :o)

Well, if this was so common knowledge: how come that there were so many threads on this forum about the concerns for the future of 3D gaming? I can't remember any reactions like: "Don't worry, Helix is working on a new wrapper, not sure when it will be released but he will make one for sure".
Now, the last person I want to insult here is Helix (so plz forgive me if I do), but I thought the timing of the release of his wp-wrapper was rather poor chosen. Why not wait another week?

We're still thinking about releasing the wrapper at the end of the campaign to the community in it's current state if it would really help in making more games stereo compatible, but then there's still a danger of being sucked in and speding too much time on it.

Just take the money (as the backers want) and release it as it is! That's what people are saying. You still get the same money you were going to get without helix's mod, and the backers still get what they want.. Choice.
Win win.
But holding a community to ransom... Is not win win.

I wouldn't change a comma on foreverseeking words, my thoughts exactly.
I will only emphasize on giving Helix some damn respect, had he not released his dx9 wrapper, there would probably be no 3d community to ask for donations like you did.

Because there was still the question as to if or not he would actually be able to do it, not the question of if or not it was being worked on.
I think I'm right in saying Helix didn't even announce the Bioshock fix, he just put up some pictures and people found them randomly.

TBH, I stand by Helix's decision. So many people donated too much and with $1500 looming in 10 days. Fear was too strong a motivator for this campaign. I put in $25, and spoke well of campaign because more modders = good thing. But then the amounts started going crazy after I spoke and I felt so bad I kept increasing my amount. I really felt terrible.

I know you mean well Schmetlzer, but was helix supposed to remain schtum on his work, that i imagine he has been doing for some time, so that people could be tricked into thinking indigomod was the only chance they had of playing bioshock in 3D? That is wrong on so many levels. This was a top priority game. Eqzitara told us he would be working on it in summer, but like his style, was very cautious about overcooking it as he knows Helix doesn't like/want pressure.
The campaign still raised 4k, and was still getting donations after helix's release. Do you really think that the campaign was going to do so much better over the last 8 days without helix on the scene? I really don't think the timing is Helix's fault, but I do think he was right in alerting people that he had a free fix in the works. People shoudn't spend money out of fear.
And as shown on this forum, all the backers I have read are happy with Chiri keeping the money for the project... So what's the issue..

I think its that Helix's fixes are on a different level and its very hard to compare. As noted above lua script is helix's VERY VERY VERY complex method of automated fixing shaders [Has to be written for each game engine].
In case everyone doesn't remember. Helix has a lot of experience with perfecting 3D Vision games.

To be fair, if Helix did know of the project and was also working on a free alternative, he should have at least contacted them and let him now that he had found an alternative and was planning to release it for free, then Chiri could decide whether it's worth it for him to continue working at that point.
If Helix didn't know, then this is all really unfortunate, but I do think Chiri should at the very least allow the community the choice to pay for it. I've chipped in my money because it's something I want and even if there is a free alternative, I think the work Chiri's done is worth of reward. I'll be honest I was skeptical when I first saw the IndieGo campaign but every person is free to decide what price they value their work at and the consumers are free to pay for what they deem worth their dollar.
The communities showing they are willing and want the product Chiri's selling, I hope he doesn't keep the offer off the table.

OS: Win 8 CPU: I7 4770k 3.5GZ GPU: GTX 780ti
