5900 and Stereo? is this possible at all?
Hey there.

I bought some anaglyph red-cyan glasses for 3D-rendering and animating purposes today.
Then I remembered about those fancy drivers for nVidia cards - I thought it would be worth a try with my old 5900XT.

Well now I'm really fed up with BSODs, driver installing/removing etc.

It just doesn't work at all.

I tried 91.31 as well as 77.77 (removing drivers under safe mode of course beforehand).
Currently 77.77 + Stereo is installed, since I thought this might fit to my old card.

As I configure everthing and hit the "Launch Test Apllication..." button, I get a BSOD.
With 77.77 this already happens when I simply enable the stereo mode and hit "apply".

Is there any chance Stereo 3D works with my system? Or is it too outdated? I didn't read of any limitation, except that the drivers (91.31 and 77.77) must fit to my card - which they do.

Any idea?

System Specs:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (Socket 754)
AOpen Aeolus FX 5900 XT (128 MB)
1 GByte RAM
17" LCD display
WinXP Professional (32Bit)

Oh yeah and make sure you uninstall the 'old' drivers before installing 'new' ones.

Works! Thanks!

I also found the hint to use Driver Cleaner in another thread, which I didn't before - shame on me.
Maybe it was because of that, or because of 78.01

Is it really gray scale? I'll have to do some more testing.
But normally you're able to see coloured images with red-cyan glasses - simply a seperation of the red channel and the combination of blue and green = cyan - which adds to full RGB in the end and you get a very decent image quality.

It's at least possible.

/Edit: There are colours. ;)
