Guys, I need info on why my 980m isn't working for 3D and why nvidia drivers say my laptop screen isn't good enough even though it is 120hz. What are some alternate active shutter glasses that I can use that aren't made by nvidia and would they work without me having to get an external display?

Hmm, prolly because it isn't 3D Vision ready/certified and doesn't have an integrated emitter... just sayin'
Use TriDef? oh wait, that's right, no integrated emitter :P
lol, you should know better because you owned a 3D Vision laptop previously :)
You'll need an external display. That's if it doesn't have Optimus C*^k blocking you
You mean because of the clevo not buying 980m license? My display is LGD02C5 which is the same display as the p570wm3 (3D version in which 3D only works up to 780m) and possibly the p370sm3. I thought someone told me it was because of the emitter being on the inside and the license thing but I had no idea they meant the actual screen and the license thing?
I don't want to buy a tv atm because of limited space. What are some alternatives I can use? I don't have optimus. Atm, I have external emitter for to try this.

The integrated emitter for 3D Vision certified laptops is driven by software on the laptop. I'm thinking that you can not use a workaround for an integrated display.
If you still have your old laptop, try getting the EDID from it and doing an override. Or there's an Alienware EDID on the 3D Vision blog I think.

It's saying to do this if drivers didn't install correctly? But every installed just fine. I had no problems installing the software.

So how do I do this?
Seems like me and last poster are having the same problem: http://3dvision-blog.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2388
But the post before last has the edid of my previous machine. And yep, same hardware id. They look the same honestly from quick glance. This one and the semi last post in that last link.
