3D Side-By-Side Color Issue
I've got an interesting issue when I try to play a side-by-side 3D movie on my PC, sent to my 3DTV. What happens is I play a side-by-side MKV and manually select the 3D mode on my TV, the 3D works, but the picture goes very green and purple/magenta. I'm running a GeForce GTS 450 with the latest drivers. The thing is, I didn't use to have this issue as I've watched many 3D movies on my PC in the past. This is a new issue but I can't figure out what has caused this to start. Any ideas?

Is this all movies, or just this movie? If your using nvidia's video player. Try the trial of http://www.3dtv.at/Downloads/Index_en.aspx its the full version of the player thats updated. Id assume this is codec related. Id recommend going somewhere else for a solution on that. Ive heard too many stories with codecs to know I really shouldnt give advice on that front though

My projector every once in awhile acts up kinda like what you are showing. All I do to correct it, is switch to the USB input and it self corrects when the projectors USB menu appears. I then switch back to the input the video is on. I think the colorspace isn't reported correctly to the player initially for whatever reason.

Also there is a video setting in the control panel that allows the user to have their GPU handle colors instead of the display during video playback only. Perhaps at sometime you tweaked it and left it whacked.

When you see the movie SBS (left image, right image....none 3D mode enabled)...do you have the same issue? or it's only when you enable the 3D mode? If happens even with 3D mode off....it's codec related. If happens only with 3D mode on (SBS) it's hardware related (try D-Man11 suggestion)....also, have you change some parameters in your TV for 3D modes (color palette or something like that)? try to go back to default for 3D modes.

1. This is with all movies I've tried, including ones I know played fine before. 2. This is only when I switch the 3D on with my TV, SBS with no 3D plays fine. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll give a couple things a try and report back. **EDIT** So I tried the suggestion from D-Man11 and sure enough that worked. I changed the input on my TV and back again and had to reselect 3D SBS mode but then the color was correct. Weird issue but if that's all it takes I'll take it. I restarted the video player and tried several movies, no issues. I then power cycled my TV and the issue returned. Doing the above resolved it again, though. Weird. Thanks everyone!

It could also be a problem with the degausser, starting to develop. (not likely since it works fine in 2D) If so you'd eventually need to replace it. But in most cases, unplugging the TV for an extended period of more than 4 hours will reset it. Unless of course your TV is an LCD, in which case it would not use a degausser.
