Is TriDef still compatible with 3D Vision Hardware?

@Zeeblade
Are you talking about V3D245 and if so how is ATI cards handling the dual-link DVI connection for 3D.

In addition to this there is the old 3D viewsonic as well as the V3D231.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?

Hi All

3D Vision monitors are designed to work with 3D Vision drivers only. There is no support for Tridef drivers, so this is a completely unsupported configuration.

i tried tridef for the demo period with assassin's creed brotherhood and i have noticed that if i enable SLI, i obtain 40 fps frame drop during camera movement (SLI GTX 460).
If i disable SLI, i have a constant framerate.

i wrote to tridef, and they answered me that tridef do not support SLI.

wonderful...

ah and i have just discovered that tridef license is node locked to your current pc config. so pc change = another license buying.
so the choice is between:

Nvidia = larger game support and SLI support with the unjustified idiocy of lack of SBS display mode.
TriDef = doesn't work in SLI system and when you change pc you must buy again the license.

There's no need to use DDD for Brotherhood if you have 3D Vision/3DTV capable hardware, guaranteed HeliX mod makes that game infinitely better than DDD could manage with performance that is probably 2-3x better too: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=222386&view=findpost&p=1365864

You can see the results with HeliX mod here: http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/chizow/album/4f27318e378501bc2900005e/

thanks so much for this suggestion, i will try it immediatly.
On the other hand, what i have said is still valid. Image resolution of tridef is higher then 3dvision just because
3dvision = 1280x720 per eye
tridef = 960*1080 per eye

and it is known that in any case, SBS (tridef) help our eyes and brain to recostruct a better image quality than frame packing (3d vision).

Nvidia... SBS... think about it !

TriDef = doesn't work in SLI system and when you change pc you must buy again the license.

I think it s worse than that : new OS install = new license needed, at least that s what i understand on their forum

Folks, the stuff about the Helix mod is good, gonna try out Dead Space & ME2 later. But I'm still interested in the original question - does Tridef still work on 3D Vision hardware? (assuming the latest Nvidia drivers - 295.73 - and latest Tridef - 5.1?)

I've got a BenQ XL2420T & standard USB emitter, anyone successfully running Tridef on this monitor?

You can try for yourself for free: http://www.tridef.com/download/TriDef-3D-latest.html

As of R290 and the first R295 beta and Ignition 5.0, Tri-Def drivers still worked for me, but as AndrewF stated in this thread: "There is no support for Tridef drivers, so this is a completely unsupported configuration."

Oh yeah... sorry, I should have said in my last message, I've used a Tridef trial before. I do have a code to renew it - I asked their support guys if they could do that since it was a long time since I trialled it & my games and hardware have changed since then. They seem very reasonable about it - suppose a trial renewal is always a new potential sale, so they're probably happy to do it as long as you're not abusing it.

Anyway, I'm just wary of starting this trial period only to find it doesn't work on my monitor, so I thought I'd see if anyone's got experience first. If not, I'll try it out and let you know.

Hello everyone!! I currently have the LG W2363D monitor with Nvidia 3D Vision but i would like to also play some games like Bioshock Infinite with Tridef!! Is there a 3D monitor i could buy that runs both Tridef and 3D Vision? (I mean i could have two seperate windows installations.... the first with 3D Vision drivers and most games and the second with Tridef and only some games installed like Bioshock Infinite....)

Sorry, that monitor can't display SBS content, so Tridef won't work with it. The Asus VG278H works, but only if you get lucky and score one with the newest firmware.

I also see that Acer HN274H works with Tridef..... is it going to work Tridef combined with a Nvidia card?

This forum thread suggests that it does. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1686258 This forum suggests that it does not. http://3dvision-blog.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1068&start=40 It could be that newer firmwares do, and older ones do not - but it's hard to say for certain. Are there any local retailers that would let you test one?
