BUG REPORT: CD 1.19 still NOT detects Samsung DLP 3rd botched release
OK I'm back for more pain.
My Dell LCD (not compatible with 3DVision) and my Sammy both connected to the PC, and while the Sammy was NOT detected as a 3D ready display, the 24" Dell actually got detected, and as a result under the "stereoscopic setup" panel it got all 3 choices Discover, DLP and CRT. Wonderful.
NOT.
I want my Sammy got detected, not the stupid Dell. What can I do with the dumb 60Hz Dell? In CRT mode it almost poked my eyes out and in DLP mode it just sit there like a stiff hinge.
Let's hope Andrew and the driver team will continue to work on resolving this issue.
What is labeled as your Primary Display from the Windows Control Panel: Dell or Samsung?

What is labeled as your Primary Display from the Windows Control Panel: Dell or Samsung?
- I first set the Samsung to be the primary display (also the focus of SLI) and go thru the wizard => Not detected as 3D Ready display. (FAIL case)
- I then set the Dell to be the primary display just to test => It was detected as a 3D Ready display but of course it couldn't play the role due to its 60Hz nature. (WEIRD case)
So far I've tried several permutations of installation between 1.19 and 1.15, including the 1.19 Geforce driver + 1.15 3DVision driver (as another poster suggested) then install the 1.19 3DVision driver only over it. Still no dice.
After several hours of trying I now reinstalled the 1.15 CD and it again, as always, detected my Sammy in exactly ONE try. Robust and reliable. Something I cannot ascribe to the 1.19CD driver. I guess I'm staying with 1.15 until the next release.
If you have any experimental driver to test my case, I'll be happy to run it thru.

I did try this but didn't work for me. You and couple other fellows had it "easy" running into this loophole. I'm, and apparently others as well, not so lucky.
Just installed http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_3D_vi...in7_195.81.html as per Andrew's advice in preceding post but on top of the 195.81 Geforce drivers and it does work, seems you do not need my hack for 195.81 but it works.
What is very interesting though, after installing 3D VISION 195.81 when running the setup wizard it will not detect and only offers 3D Discover but if you close the application and check device manager all looks good and if you then reopen either the wizard or 3d test application it works (same quirk as my hack).
No luck here on Samsung DLP 61A750 yet, definitely broken on default install that had worked previously. Am going to try some workarounds. VERY annoyed that this stuff keeps getting released without having someone test, get one of us to test if necessary. Glad Andrew is back for now though.

Distant, did you try my original hack. WORKING 195.81 SOLUTION. Install 195.81 driver package for your OS (Geforce not 3D Vision), then install 3D Vision Sterioscopic driver from 1.15, during installation it will warn that it is incorrect for driver disregard and click OK, it will then suprisingly start to install the 1.15 package driver but request you to overwrite many newer files and then complete / finish. For me after this when starting Nvidia 3D test application it failed twice after briefly initiating (no hard lock or BSOD) then WORKED and has kept working.
I see it has worked for several others, more importantly installing 195.81 3D Vision as Andrew suggested on top of this hack is what I did when it worked (195.81 3D Vision driver), albeit no better than 1.15 hack alone.

Hi Morsage,
I did try your hack more than couple times. I went on and let it overwritten several files as prompted, in the setup wizard though it then went Sarah Palin: not 3Dvision, not Red/Blue but something I hadn't seen before, something rogueish, it looked like some Yellow/Green anaglyphic type. In short, the hack never worked for me. I wish it had.

Distant maybe the hack does not work for all but it may help to run Driver Sweeper in safe mode first (I did but do not know if this was important and manually removed Nvidia Corporation folders in registry, program files and x86 program files which required stopping nvidia processes for all users in task manager), then reboot and install Geforce drivers for windows 7 x64 130mb from nvidia then only 3D driver from 1.15.
Turls the failure you report is the same as I experienced but after reboot and going to nvidia control panel and selecting DLP (now available) all was / is good

Distant, you say you have problems with 24" Dell and Sammy connected. Does that mean simultaneously connected? If so I wopuld try to put the sammy in clone mode to the Dell (as I understood you could select DLP mode with the Dell). Do you not get the stereo mode select box at all, or does the sync in checkerboard mode not work?
I do unfortunately not have a DLP for testing at hand anymore, but what I can tell is that with the former couple of drivers I did not see the select box at all with a compatible DLP (hence i returned it).
With a simple quick and dirty install of the 195.81 set over the existing drivers (no driver sweep whatsoever) the box magically reappered even on my 30" Dell at native 2560x1600@60Hz (thus completely incompatible with 3Dvision) - I have to add only after dis- and reconnecting the transmitter.
With this I am at least able to run the test app and it displays anaglyph, page flip and checkerboard correctly up to full resolution and the even galsses do something - allthough they won't sync in CRT mode at 60Hz which is a pity - I wish they would fih THIS at least for testing purposes.

Heheh...No kidding. You weren't alone for sure, I was not happy mainly due to being ignored by the big "N" corporate in the recent past on matter that concerns its own product support. I was even banned from the forum for a period of 10 days due to a so called "rule violation", which was silly, trivial, and utterly immaterial, as a justification by admins, however the real cause was that I was being vocal about what's ailing.
But as long as Nvidia official, aka Andrew, is present here for us in time of need and the communication line is open, I don't mind waiting and helping the 3DVision team to get this bug sorted with whatever data they need. I hope this is a precedence for things to come.

Tried the clone thing this afternoon, it works erratically due to native resolution between the two aren't the same. There are couple limitations that make this workaround impractical for me: no desktop resize, and cloning prevent the second monitor from displaying other apps that I want to keep on. But it is a very good suggestion that can be used in "emergency" gaming need.

NOT.
I want my Sammy got detected, not the stupid Dell. What can I do with the dumb 60Hz Dell? In CRT mode it almost poked my eyes out and in DLP mode it just sit there like a stiff hinge.
Let's hope Andrew and the driver team will continue to work on resolving this issue.
intel i5 2500k @ 4.6 30C Stable
EVGA gtx 470 SLI
windows vista 64 bit
8 gig Corsair Vengeance RAM

It shouldn't be THIS difficult to get this driver to work.
Screw work-arounds.
Nvidia needs to fix this and fix it asap.
Getting very annoyed, and I don't think I'm the only one.

I see it has worked for several others, more importantly installing 195.81 3D Vision as Andrew suggested on top of this hack is what I did when it worked (195.81 3D Vision driver), albeit no better than 1.15 hack alone.

With this I am at least able to run the test app and it displays anaglyph, page flip and checkerboard correctly up to full resolution and the even galsses do something - allthough they won't sync in CRT mode at 60Hz which is a pity - I wish they would fih THIS at least for testing purposes.

Guys, thanks for the pointers, I'll definitely try them as soon as I can get back into the "uninstall/reinstall" drone mode.

But as long as Nvidia official, aka Andrew, is present here for us in time of need and the communication line is open, I don't mind waiting and helping the 3DVision team to get this bug sorted with whatever data they need. I hope this is a precedence for things to come.
OMG.. seriously ??
It shouldn't be THIS difficult to get this driver to work.
Screw work-arounds.
Nvidia needs to fix this and fix it asap.
Getting very annoyed, and I don't think I'm the only one.
