Hey Guys,
Has anyone successfully used an EDID override to allow a Samsung HDTV LED to show Frame Sequential ie 1080p 60hz 30fps per eye?
I have had some wins but overall its just not working as desired.
Done so far...
Installed Win7 x64, installed Acer GN245HQ EDID
results.
> It does work, i can select FS mode on the TV and its a full 1080p picture however its clear that monitor driver is causing huge performance issues all round. it takes 15 second to go from the password boot up screen to desktop.. normally its instant. all 3D runs at about 1/10 of the speed.
> I have tried rollermod, and various Samsung EDIDs however when i boot a game (in this case Civ5) as soon as i turn 3D on (Ctrl T) the colour palette is basically yellow and FS doesnt work..
> I have tried the Nvidia IR Emmiter emulator but the device wont start.
I am close, it seems possible but its just not working. i guess i need an EDID that doesnt try to run it at 120hz?
any ideas? i really dont want to have to buy a stupid emitter just to open 1080p FS mode

Hi betc,
I'm also looking for a way to do the 1080p 30fps per eye but I can't even get 3d vision to run properly. When I installed rollermode or other EDID overrides I get to the point in the NVIDIA 3D setup where the message says that no 3D monitor was detected. Could you maybe help me out? Did you use the newest 3D drivers from nvidia?
About your problem, have you seen this site here:

There are quite a lot of inf files you could test and see if they give you better results.
about the IR Emitter emulator, did you install "DSF-KitSetup.msi" first, then open the "init_x64.bat" before actually lunching the enablestereo.bat?

Hi Serachja, i didnt notice your post sorry.
I have been able to force win8 to accept video drivers you just have to restart in driver mode or something - i cant remember the name. even then, it didnt work. flat out the roller mods have never worked and they only run in 1280x720p. which when i open the file is the default res? i have tried bumping that to 1080 but i gave up.
i have had better luck with EDIDs from LCDs that run at 120hz, however that causes other issues as i assume the whole 120hz versus 60hz issue is causing windows to run really slow. i just want to get an EDID that locks the res to 1080p 60hz 30fps per eye and that file to have no other resolutions period
I did try the IR Emitter, ran the DSF 64 msi, then init x64 bat, the device just wont start.

still doesnt work, screen turns a yellowish colour and no 3D is actually engaged
i assusme you need the nvidia emittor (should arrive this week)
what a mission to enable a freaking mode that the TV, video card and drivers can handle but nvidia refuses to allow us to use... why nvidia...
Finally got this working on both Win8 and Win7 x64.
so now Win8 is set to normal Checker board, Win7 is fixed to Frame Sequential. Its nice having both options, for example FS mode is awesome when running X Albion Prelude as you can clearly read the microscopic fonts.
Most FPS games however benefit immensely from checkerboard 60fps, and sometimes i felt a bit queezy playing Metro Last Light using Frame Sequential.
Still its that bit crisper than Checkerboard
To get it to work...
Install the Nvidia Emitter
Select 3DTV play mode
Set your depth, hot keys etc
Apply EDID (restart)
Apply registry fix
play game
PM me for the full details
