Also for some reason I'm pegged at 30fps. This is all on a GTX295.

Oh no... Dead-Space 1 also had that 30fps locked framerate issue.

Is it playable with a mouse at least or does it also has the same input problems as the first one ?

I've been told on neogaf.com to disable vsync in game and let the nvidia drivers force vsync. I think that will do the trick. 3d vision forces vsync anyway so it should be taken care of there.

Doesn't really make up for the bad 3D tho. I hope nVidia can work out a profile to solve some of the issues.

Such bad news, I had high hopes for Dead Space 2 in 3d. I thought EA promised their upcoming games were going to be 3d ready, so probably DS2 was already too late in the development cycle to modify the engine to be 3d ready.

Well I'll pass on this one then, I had to save some money for the 3ds anyway /woot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' />

It might be good 3d anywayz. Just because not "3d ready" doesnt mean won't have good 3d.

I can confirm that Dead Space 2 experiences the same issues as Dead Space 1 when using 3D vision. If anyone has a good solution for Dead Space 1 I would love to try it with Dead Space 2. The game works great in 2D surround though.

If it experiences the same tech issues as the first then I would say no. I gave up DS in the end and I haven't said that about many games :(

Overall I think Dead Space 2 looks slightly better then Dead Space 1 did. It deffinatly has some of the same issues. Turning off Shadows is the only real thing you can do and tweaking the Depth and Convergence will help. Some areas look better then others, some spots look amazing. The real flaw is with the lighting in the game. Light Sconces are the problem. Lights over doors and stuff are what doesn't render well in the game. But its deffinatly playable and alot of the time pretty cool. Has some good pop out with Isaac, I actually find myself just stopping and squeezing him with my hand cause the pop out is so nice.....lol

Yea I would say on a scale of 1-10, I would say maybe a 6-7 for 3D. If you can focus on Isaac more then the lighting problems its deffinatly playable.. and by the way what a great game, I loved Dead Space 1 and this is a supperior follow up.

I think that a "playable" title never can be rated with 6 or 7. If I give a 7 is because the 3d support is very good, forgueting about if the game is a good game or not, only refering to 3d support. If I must disable shadows and also I must reduce deph and looking for a rare convergence, definively I will give no more than "3" points. Otherwise we are sending a message like "we can play what you trough to our mouths".

"3d Vision ready" could be reserved (but it is not) to games that no only have ZERO problems, but also cinematics and different zooms cameras and any aspect of the game is really prepared to be seen with 3d glasses... and of course also have attention to the ghosting viewable in some areas when colors are not selected with care.

I have no idea what your trying to say here, I never said you had to reduce depth I said Tweak depth and convergence, that means up and down. The 3D is a 7 on a scale of 1-10. Batman AA or Resident Evil 5 is a 10, Metro 2033 a 9, and Bad Company 2 an 8. These are my Opinions and ratings, you don't have to agree :)

Here are some screenshots, I think it looks good and will play it in 3D, are there some issues sure, but its not to the point where I won't play it in 3D. And the first time a "Spewer" (forget what they are called) spits projectile acid on you, you too will not turn off the 3D, its pretty cool.

It's disappointing to see that Nvidia is having all these 3d issues; especially when there latest marketing is 3d and the future 3d tegra3.

Hey, thanks for the screenshots !
Not too bad, I thought it would be worse. Can you make some screen with all graphic settings enabled (shadows included) so to see how bad it is then ?
