3D Vision, Samsung UN55C7000 opinions needed Opinions, facts rumors, advice
Well here is my 1st post. Dont worry i've been lurking around for a wile tho  .I love Computers, online gaming and movies. So i just bought a EVGA gtx480, i7 930, p6x58d premium and a Samsung un55c7000 55" LED with starter kit and 2 sets of kids glasses. The main purpose i bought it for was PC games and movies. The samsung says it's 240HZ but somehow I bet it truly is 120Hz and hopefully supports 3D Vision.

This set is going to set me back a little, but if works well, it will be worth it. I can still cancel the order ifI find a good reason not to buy the set. Anyone with experience or fact's and opinions let me know what you think.

Thanks for the help.

You can use that display with the iz3d drivers using one of the half-resolution formats like checkerboard or side-by-side.

Side by Side does work, but the checkerboard pattern mode is not supported by this 3D TV...

Just got the tv tonight, brought my M11x to the store for a quick demo, looked pretty good. Played an .mkv a few min of grid. I'm gona try it out for a few days and decide if i'm gona keep it. I probably will. Cost a fortune tho, about $5000.00 for 55" screen 5 pairs of glasses, blu-ray player and a way over priced monster cable.

This is funny because all of the European "C" series do.... also the UE55C7000. Check the manual page 19 here

hmmm.... says so on page 20 of the US manual as well.... look here....

Still, of course you would need the Sammy glasses due to noi Vesa sync output. Can you give insight on your findings, Bloody?

Yep, it does work with checkerboard. So far i've been watching only media and games on my pc. Watched a few dvd's in 2d to 3d mode and NFS Shift in 2d to 3d mode. It was ok, not really impressive. Then i installed the iz3d driver and wow, it was really impressive. Lots of adjusments. I read the manual and found if I put the display to pc mode i had many more 3d options including checkerboard. Powerdvd 10 works great (checkerboard). When I found the depth adjustment for the 2d to 3d mode, things got even more impressive. It only adjusts depth but eveything is sharp and deep looking on dvd's and games. Since my blu-ray player hasn't arrived with the 3d movie yet, I really can't comment except from what I saw in the store which was impressive. It seems the posibilities are almost endless with this screen. I will use the ps3 with 2d to 3d mode today, i'm sure it will look great. Also I will check out Totalmedia Theatre 3.

I've been working lot's lately so havn't had much time to play with the new toy, but i'll just keep adding my observations. 2D-3D mode works great will the Playstation 3, Totaltheatre 3 platinum has not released the Sim3D pluggin yet, but works perfectly great in normal mode and using the samsungs 2D to 3D mode. Iracing works with samsungs 2D-3D mode It wouldn'HDMI-DVIt allow me to test the iz3d driver maybe ome kind of silly anti-cheat. Crosshairs in all games tested are dead on in 3D mode without any adjustments. found a few more samsung 3D adjustments which were 3D autofocus and. Also I played Left for Dead 2 and it works great aswell as ARMA 2

Also, I have only been using an a DVi to HDMI connector, but will soon try The gtx 480 mini hdmi to Hdmi cable.

I knolw it cost mt a fortune, but I price protected it. In canada ask for the 55", promo deal. Picked it up for $3500, But the spase 3D glasses were $150 each and $200 for my set and $450 for 4 year in house warranty.

If anyone wants me to test something let me know. Cant wait to get Metro to test.

I spent ages trying to work this one out when I had my set up... bare with me as I am not in front of my set up so doing this from memory.

Go into PowerDVD (with out a dvd/iso loaded) go into 3D (on the menu at the bottom) and set it to no monitor and choose 3d Theatre (or what ever is above it) and then set the screen size at the top. Now start or load an iso/dvd that has 3D, it should go full screen and in 3D. Now turn on your glasses, hold the button down and they should activate and you should see 3D.

If this does not work, you can install a driver that shows a 3D Ready TV in the drop down list and then just follow the instructions above (but select 3D tv and not none).

Any problems just reply here and I will post the exact settings I am using.
