nVidia what are you doing? "This time, optimized for 3D Vision, Bioshock 2..." /facepalm
So I was reading the nVidia newsletter that came out yesterday, the 17th, and saw they had this little blurb on Bioshock 2 … I read it and /facepalmed.
Step back into the unforgettable world of BioShock, with the hotly anticipated next installment in the franchise that has won more than 50 Game of the Year Awards and has sold more than 2.5 million units worldwide. This time, optimized for 3D Vision, Bioshock 2 opens a doorway into an immersion in Rapture like you never new possible.

Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture. Step into the boots of the Big Daddy, as you travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and fighting for their own survival.
Seriously guys?? You know it isn’t optimized. We know it isn’t optimized. You said as much when an nVidia mod announced, in response to user complaints about poor 3D Vision compatibility, you were working with 2K on a patch for this.

So now they are lying?
We haven't heard anything about this so called patch for a few days now, no word about it at all, hopefully they are working on it now hence no word on it, but its been over a week, and my faith in Nvidia is slipping ;/

Well it is a lie to say it is 3D ready when it isn’t. IMO It is worse to say this again after anyone who has tried it yet knows and has reported that the game is in fact not ready.

Just cause the options have a place for 3d Vision doesn’t mean it is actually ready. I still expect a patch. I am not giving up hope, but I honestly don’t expect the patch soon. It wouldn’t shock me if we don’t see it until 2 or 3 months down the road. Why? 2K are the people who really have a big money stake in fixing the game. They are going to fix the issues that plague the most people first. Compared to gamers in general the 3D Vision audience is tiny therefore lack of working 3D mode is plaguing very few people in the grand scheme of things.

I could almost consider it playable as in 3d the crosshair and all looks alright at minimum depth, but with that the experience isn’t near as immersive. The big problem for me outside of not be optimized in 3d are the blatant glitches that occur in 3D. In 2D the game looks fine … except for disturbances in water reflections have this square pixilated diffusion effect. I only really have ever seen this at the beginning when you wake up in the water and see yourself in the reflection. In 3D however I get flashes of huge grey polygon artifacts when I look around large rooms. Stand still and don’t look around they stop. Start looking around they start popping. Checked my temps everything is fine and I am stable in everything but Bioshock 2. I found different drivers have different effects on the artifact issues. Some dated driver, I don’t remember which, I was able to eliminate the big grey polygon artifacts in trade for a glitched lightning effect on my hand. With this when I would look around I would randomly get a flashes of the lighting drawing from my hand in straight lines across the entire room in random directions.

They may have optimized it, they just didn't say anything about it working.

I think the forum has some treats coming to turn frowns upside down /shifty.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':shifty:' />

But I agree this process of fixes needs to be faster, I am not sure why 3D Vision user get the shaft all the time as waiting for games to be playable in 3D 2 months after release is not acceptable.

I am done with a game in less then 1 week and will not wait months to play it!

To many games come out to wait...
