Dying Light

I know the game hasn't been released yet (coming out tomorrow) . I'm really excited about the game and looking forward to it. As far as i know it won't support 3d vision, are you going to check this one ?

Unlikely to be good in 3D, doesn't look like they put effort into it. Engine is "Chrome Engine 6", which I don't think we've got any fixes for. The most recent was Dead Island with that engine, and DHR took a look but it wasn't fixable yet.

But there is the fix for Dead Island and Riptide and it works pretty nice on helixmod (except DOF, which i couldn't turn off for some reason). So will there be no efforts to try ? :-(

It would be sad if this game will have no 3D. Anyway, no 3D in this game = no buying for me =))

I'd exercise significant caution with this one. Multiple outlets haven't received review copies, and no reviews have been published despite the fact that there's no embargoes, and it releases very soon.

Of course one should be always cautious, but there is literally hours upon hours of gameplay on youtube on various channels. I dont remember any AAA game that had even half the amount of footage compared to Dying light. Apparently the game has oculus rift support, no 3d vision support hurts though. Well, we dont know for sure yet, but no 3d rating on game ready driver and no 3d vision ready advertisement pretty much guarantee it to be a mess in 3d.

Always possible someone will want to take a look. Should work with 3Dmigoto. The Oculus support might translate into fewer broken shaders, depending upon what it means and how they did it. For example, in Alien, the Oculus support did not fix any of the shaders, just disabled broken stuff.
Literally hours upon hours of gameplay on youtube on various channels.
True, however the right to broadcast that footage generally comes with strings attached. The youtubers are often paid by the publishers, and have requirements that usually amount to "saying good things". I'm not saying it's bad, but take everything with a grain of salt until after reviews/release.

Im looking at this one also. I have not bought a PC game in a few years, PS4 does the job for me and then some. If there were a game that would have me finally buy a pc copy this would be it. I would love to go on with how greed has crushed this tech but ......... we all know that story dont we. As a lover of all things zombie I at least owe it to myself to have a look at this title. The gore is there as is the wasteland style settings. I like the idea of open world with collect supplies during the day while the night is meant to survive. Few things im worried about is the trailer looks like a hallway shooter and very scripted, this goes against all things open world and free to roam. They may have found a way to use this style to keep the story going but I fear that once the story is finished that there will be little reason to continue playing the open world portion. Add in no 3D support or just crap 3d and this game looks to be a waste of money if 3d zombie shooter was your reason to purchase. I have my fingers crossed at this point, I would love a reason to put the titan back in the pc and grab my 3d glasses, turn out the lights and put on the headset. Im going with that for now, hope and pray for the best.

But thankfully you can judge a lot from gameplay itself, even if the tubers were paid not to say anything negative. WB, the publisher did the same thing with shadow of mordor, so i suspect its just WB' practice and not any indication of the game's quality. Well, hopefully anyways. At least mordor was considered to be a really good game. But yeah it doesnt hurt you to be careful. Anyway, the review codes are being sent today, according to some tweets from journalist's who've recieved them and the preview codes can be upgraded to review version now through steam. Actually from publishers point of view, i would be scared to give such a short time to review a game. We are gonna see a lot of half assed reviews on day 1 now :D

As youtube/twitch get more and more popular the big gaming websites offer a smaller and smaller value, and are in return a much riskier format to have their game shown in. I think we're in an age where publications not getting review codes early isn't necessarily indicative of a games quality. Like in this case, you have access to hours and hours of game footage before release. Just not from press outlets. There's a shift happening in the game coverage space, and it'll be interesting to see which outlets adapt and which die.
WB, the publisher did the same thing with shadow of mordor
Yes, but they sent out review copies with plenty of time for that one. After all the seriously busted releases recently, we need to stop preordering games. Dying Light may be great, but we don't know that for sure yet. If we want publishers to stop releasing broken games, we have to stop buying based on promises, and give them an incentive to release games that actually work. Which is something we can only know after release.
