I got one of these
http://www.aocmonitorap.com/v2015/au/product_display.php?id=272
Mostly because it was priced cheaper. But it has been working well and allows for enjoyable stereoscopic gaming. Comes with Tridef and works fine with 3d vision with an EDID override.
I don't know how anyone can endure active 3d for long gaming sessions.

Asus VG248QE
- barely any 3D ghosting/crosstalk
- didn't have, or never noticed, any 3D pixel inversion/checkerboard/sparkly-coloured crap
BenQ XL2720T
- lots of 3D ghosting/crosstalk. Coming from the VG248QE, I thought my XL2720Ts were broken or some Nvidia driver issue. It's quite a big difference from the 3D bliss of the VG248QE
- there is the pixel inversion/checkerboard/sparkly-coloured crap
The 3D crosstalk can be reduced a bit from the OSD's contrast setting (Lightboost doesn't help reduce Crosstalk - only contrast does - so just set Lightboost to full). Crosstalk can be reduced further if you are lucky enough to be playing a game which "listens" to the Nvidia control panel's contrast/brightness/gamma settings since you can use those settings to help reduce crosstalk further at the expense of making the image more dull/"flat" and less bright.
Going 27" 3D?
If I was going 27", and because of my bad experiences with the BenQ XL2720T, I would go with one of the 1440p monitors if you can afford it. I can't imagine their 3D crosstalk being any worse than my XL2720T monitors' and the pixel inversion/checkboard/sparkly-coloured crap may be (I'm assuming) less noticeable since the pixels are smaller (27" 1440p instead of 27" 1080p).
The 1440p, 3D Vision monitors are:
- Asus ROG Swift PG278Q
- Acer XB270HU Abprz (not the bprz model but the Abprz model)
- Dell S2716DG
I think I remember reading that the the Asus and Acer use the same panel but I can't say for sure. The Dell panel is a different model than the Asus's but I have a feeling they are very, very similar and "related" panels as the Dell seems to perform quite similiar to the Asus from the few posts and reviews I read about it.
P.S.
1) I SWEAR, something changed in an Nvidia driver and there was all of a sudden more 3D crosstalk ever since a particular Nvidia driver between 331 and 345. I can't say for sure but I'm almost positive that I even remember this happening with my VG248QE shortly before selling them.
2) I have a feeling that we would be able to easily and quickly tune-out 3D ghosting/crosstalk if we could somehow adjust the monitor's overdrive (either through OSD or PC software) and also, possibly, with 3D or 3D glasses "timing" adjustments. It's actually ridiculous that these options aren't available. It's extremely frustrating and just doesn't make sense to me especially considering these are "hardcore gaming monitors" (regarding lack of overdrive adjustment ability).

IIRC, overdrive in the Asus VG248QE can be configured in Lightboost mode in real time through the service menu. A known blurbusters user told me that, and that it's basically perfect. Much better than his XL2720Z.
Apart from the checkerboard pattern, there is image retention in 3D on my XL2411Z. Curiously it also happens with emulators that have black frame insertion. I guess these things mess with pixel inversion.
By the way, Lightboost 10% for the win! The less motion blur the better.

My passive asus Vg23AH does not have lot´s of ghosting but still too much to my liking as the omega filtters
have about zero ghosting. so the asus VG248QE still looks like the most viable option, as i hate ghosting but i also hate active on projectors (that´s why im on dual setup) but active and about no ghosting still sound better to my ear in this case when talking about secondary display device, than a ghosting passive.

Sadly that was a short demo....30min drive...half hour test-...30 min drive and return of product. VG248QE had pretty low crosstalk not as good as my passive projector setup, but better than my VG23AH monitor. And it was not disturbing at all, low enough i would say.
But the flicker is the one that cought my eye the second 3d kicked in. flicker is the only way i can discribe it, The same thing with any 3D device using Active techique. And now i just gotta declare active 3d dead to me,
it´s just so annoying i can´t use it. i propably gotta look on 4k panels capable of producing polarized 3d at the fullHD res in total. I can bare some ghosting but not any flicker.
Everytime i try, it feels like my face is starting to heat up and i become uneasy to watch.....
Well i can´t stand DLP eather (consumer 1-chip)
Allthough i would say VG248QE is a great product if you don´t suffer super fast eyes or brains, or what ever is causing the dislike feeling.
Anyway i thank all for the comments and recommends

Metaloholic. I'd say there's a 1-to-2 week break-in period for your eyes/brain when using active 3D (well, at-least Nvidia 3D Vision 2). You can't just do a 20 minute test and expect to feel perfect.

I don't have an XL2720T, but I suppose it has a service menu. However, it won't do anything for Lightboost. The VG248QE case works because you can modify the Trace Free value there, but BenQ monitors use a different overdrive method that isn't used in Lightboost mode.

Yes but I don't want to break-in. I feel comfy with passive. I also can't watch dlp. Isn,t it like sit on a knife, eventually you won't feel it...yes but is it healthy ?
