So I kinda want two more 3d monitors......
Currently have the VG278HE and been really been going at the VR stuff lately but forgot how nice 3d vision games look until the other day. So I really want to do a 3d surround setup now but cannot afford two more monitors. I do have an oculus Rift I want to sell and a an Acer X34 I might be willing to let go also. Anyone out there have this monitor and willing to do a trade?

Having the same woes, 3d on a budget seems to be difficult Was lucky enough to find a VG248QE on gumtree locally for £100 ish, second one was far harder to source. Ebay 2nd hand monitors ask for insane postage rates :( Have resorted to begging on local facebook groups, hopefully someone has stuff lurking unused somewhere. What bothers me is this tech was all the rage in 2013, since then very little has happened, and the prices for used gear is the same as new. Hope you find what you are looking for , be patient is the only advice i can offer, all the kit is out there.

Does that even work ? Don't mean to sound silly but I read an old article (are there any new articles and review for 3d ?) that said tvs dont display the same way as monitors. Far as i remember it was to do with the tv signal having short gaps and the tv having to buffer and fill in the blank spaces. Makes for lovely tv but slopppy gaming. I guess 4k wasnt possible when the article was written, it is very new and maybe it will fix the problem. i think this explains a little, round about the middle of the article https://www.monitornerds.com/monitor-vs-tv-gaming/
The inputs, for real 120 hertz and above you need to use Dual Link DVI or Display Port or HDMI 2.0. HDMI 1.4 and below just can’t transmit that amount of data, so you’re limited to 60 hertz of actual output from whatever is outputting to the TV. Doesn’t matter how fancy your TV is the vast majority of them will only accept a 60-hertz input and then it’s doing all kinds of trickery to achieve its 120 hertz, 240 hertz or 480 hertz. Through motion interpolation and backlight strobing and some other ways. So in layman’s terms your TV is gonna take a 60 fps input and create the missing frames in order to fill the gaps. So in a 120 hertz TV that means it will take an approximation of two real frames and put in a fake or predictive frame between that. Meaning that the TV can insert anywhere between 1 to 4 fake frames in between your real ones which will sometimes work well especially in the case of predictively moving objects. But in other cases like in gaming where the motions are very unpredictable, these tricks no don’t work that well. These features are designed to give the illusion of less motion blur for television content. But in games, it can give you more visual artifacts.
It works, but more importantly do you have the horsepower required to run three monitors in 3d? It's a significant jump, I most often revert to a single display because of this. Maybe if I end up with two of the rumored 1080ti's next year...
