Can you guys give me more feedback on UT3. This is one game i really care about.

-Does it cut your FPS by 60% like Left for dead?

-Do you see 2 targets when zooming in with your sniper rifle scope? (heard it's a common problem)

-Does playing in 3d affect your gameplay online?

I have Fallout 3, Devil May Cry 4, Halo 2, Left 4 Dead.

Fallout 3 has amazing in game depth. Plays perfect at Max depth. The only things I see that acutally comes out of the screen is your pipboy and always blood. The other day I sledge hammered this dead mutants head till his head blew up. His eye ball come out of the screen.

Devil May Cry 4 is the best game I've seen. I would recommend to anyone. I play full screen max depth. Things come out of the screen non stop through the whole game.

Halo 2 is really good but it sucks because of the gun. When you raise the depth your gun splits into 2. If you raise the depth all the way up each gun goes off the right and left side of the screen. So you can play it in max depth with no gun on the screen, just the crosshair. Pretty sweet actually. So many things come out across my living room in this game. Amazing cut scenes.

Left 4 Dead is flawless. Things pop out of the screen but not as much as I would like.

I've downloaded a lot of demos. The only one I would mention is portal. Portal in 3D is amazing.

I run a 9800GTX+ 3.2ghz
Samsungs DLP 61inch A7150

Play with your convergence settings a bit (after turning on advanced options for stereo in nvidia control panel) and you should be able to get some more popout.

Good call man. That works so well!!! In the stereo Test now.. I can stand like 10-15ft away from my TV and the eye comes out like 6-10ft. Next time I play Devil May Cry 4 I will be standing up and alot further away from the set. :magic:

Thanks!

Age of Chivalry, a mod for Half-Life 2 works really well in S3D. I know half-life 2 has been mentioned but I dont think many have heard of this mod?

It's a medieval type mod with mostly melee weapons (apart from a longbow, crossbow and throwing weapons)

It takes a bit to get used to the ranged weapons in 3D and the aiming with the settings I play makes me turn off 3D a bit to get precise shots but I probably just have to tweak the settings more or just get used to em.

Falcon 4.0 Allied Force - Didn't work at all :(
Drakensang - Fair (Actual 3D effects in the game work pretty well, but it would be unplayable in actual 3D as the 2D menus all render double - also the sides of the view are messed up)

World In Conflict: Excellent
WIC works almost flawless in S3D. From Volumetric smoke to the tracks tanks leave behind, everything is rendered in its top forum, one thing to really mention is the first time you see a shock wave (or compression wave) from a large explosive (Daisy Cutter, Fuel Air Bomb, anything that really packs a punch) come at you, its beautiful. One thing is, at max depth, if your ever close to an explosion (at low level or if your unlucky to be staring at a nuke when it goes off) it can throw your perception off really messing with your focus, at lower depths it's non-existent. All Viewing was done at MAX graphics, every slider cranked to the right, everything set to Very High or High, and all the little extras that you can only enable in DX10. Its amazing. Will be sure to post some screens in the screen thread.

Just got my kit today and got everything setup and working. I guess I dont understand the convergence settings...doesnt seem to do anything for me (turning on advanced and using ctrl+f6 in game)...I can see that things look more 3d, but not the eye popping I was hoping for...what am I missing? How do you know your convergence settings like the depth setting indicator?

Hobertg, the convergence settings move in smaller increments compared to the depth settings. You may have to press the button a bunch of times or hold down ctrl-f6/ctrl-f5 to see a difference. What you are doing is pulling everything closer to or farther away from you. It's just like if you were walking backward or forward in the scene. Careful about overdoing it though, it's tough to focus on something when its z depth is somewhere in the middle of your head

Also, make sure that you hit ctrl-f7 when you've found the settings you like. ctrl-f7 will lock in the settings for whatever game you're playing so you don't have to readjust them next time.

If that still doesn't bring you what you're looking for, then you may be looking for what game designers will (hopefully) be programming into their games in the future. Right now games aren't optimized for s3d. When devs start to adopt s3d, it's likely they will put more effects in the game that actually jump out of your screen at you on purpose.

Great...I will give it a try (holding down instead of just pushing it a few times). Is it a noticeable difference as you do it?

While in the game when I hit ctrl I would crouch and it didnt seem like it was doing anything while using ctrl+f5 or ctrl+f6. While I am in other games it saves when I hit ctrl so it seems like the convergence either isnt working or it is doing the game stuff @ the same time :)

Is convergence also possible in the 3d movies that you can download?

Thanks for the input...I will keep tweaking, but having fun with it so far.

Try changing the key settings for convergence. I use Pg Up and Pg Dn for it. Using the CRTL along with F5 and F6 can cause problems in some games. Then just hold the key down and you will see it change. Like if your holding a gun, it will start coming out of the screen toward you.

Good call man. I didn't know about this. Dude.. I play with it way up all the time. At the point where the eye comes 6-12 inches from my face in the test. Fallout 3 is great with it up. I know what you mean though, about focusing problem. When I bring up my pipboy. Takes me a second to focus correctly. Still though, thats nothing, it's amazing.

Want to know what game I'm waiting for?? Ghostbusters baybay!!!!! I bet it will be so good in 3D. Comes out June 20th for the PC. woot woot. :magic:

OK...making my changes and just want to make sure this is what I should be seeing.

Playing COD4 and holding the gun when I increase convergence it basically seems to seperate the two screens (which make up he 3D view)...but I can see them seperate with the glasses on. Should it be seperate or coming out off the screen? Btw, I have the depth @ 100% since I didnt think I was getting the effect I was supposed to be getting....should I take that down a bit until I get the convergence the way I like it (or let my eyes get used to it)?

Personally I feel more like the effect I am getting is more volume to the game, but not the popping off the screen effect I expected and wanted to make sure its configured properly.

Any input is appreciated and hopefully it not just me :) I keep hearing all these great reviews of these games in 3D and I want to make sure its setup correctly.

if you want to use convergence set depth at 25% for best effect
