Hello Masterotaku,
I also have many random crashes and perma-freeze since getting into the sewers. :(
I tried out WIP8 today, but no good luck.
I picked up a log from a perma-freeze in the sewer, crash to desktop doesn't seem to write out a logfile correctly.
https://ufile.io/lkk71
Hope this helps you out.
Oh, hey again.
I got a direct crash to desktop to give me a log, I actually forgot to add the right flags when I did a clean re-install of WIP8. So the last log is a freeze on a overwrite of WIP8 (WIP5->WIP6->WIP7 and this log is from after a clean install of WIP8 (uninstall->WIP8).

Hope it helps.

Thank you, ZombieDog7, that's precisely the type of help I needed :). "[TextureOverride_Rain_112_15]" was the guilty override. Delete those three lines or comment them to avoid the crash.
They will be commented when I post the next version.
That hash (e9030906) was in my "to watch closely" list already but didn't crash for me yet. It sucks that having correct rain causes so much trouble. But I don't want to disable even one more hash than is needed.

I have finished and PM'd the Enable fix files to masterotaku so that he can try them out.
It works! We need someone with an HDR display to confirm if the HDR option is there and working.
With this, I need to fix the volumetric lighting shaders again (different hashes). I'll try to make a regex for them.
Also, the rain shader I fixed needs to be in ASM form to work correctly everywhere, and I have corrected one of the "new" shaders of this new mode that I fixed incorrectly the other day.
Logging with the new dll files makes me lose a lot of fps (I get 20fps instead of 48fps. GPU bottleneck), I guess because the log file is getting new content constantly. So until a crash happens for me, I'll disable logging.
Expect a new WIP tonight. And I hope everyone is using the "uninstall.bat" instead of overwriting files, because sometimes I add or remove shaders.

A big thank you to you
(ps) I'd like to have your knowledge to make it playable in real 3D warhammer II total vision ; o)

Hey guys ... sorry for bothering... but I have no glue what I have to do with this wip file :(
... and is something else to do? ... changing profile?
Is anywhere a description bis to do that ... havn‘t done that for to long I guess, and I don‘t know any more where and how to start :(
Any help would be appreciated... this game was awesome... and now with better optic AND 3D would be the sh!t :D
So once you download WIP8, use a program like WinRAR to extract the files. Select them all and drag them to the RE2 folder (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2). Stick with the safe graphics options in this post and you will at least be 90% there if it doesn't work. Contact shadows can be turned on and you might want to fiddle with other graphics options, as I'm believe the directions are a bit outdated now.

Thank you guys for your help ... and definitly also for the great work doing this :))))
I tried it ... but unfortunately it didn't worked for me ...
I copied in the game folder, and made the settings in the post ingame.
With my right eye I can see normally ... with my left eye I the lower half of the screen is just one color.
Didn't know what I have done wrong? ... ah, and I didn't made any changes in the game config file ... so I have not to the changes in the settings ingame?
Yeah, guess, would be the best for me to wait :DDDD

I use 3DTV Play on a beamer with 720p ... and the 3D Vision info displayed "re2-3DMigoto"

There are two settings that have to be changed right now (UseVendorExtention and UseOptimizeShader in "re2_config.ini" to "Disable"), but after the update that I'm going to post in a few hours, not anymore.

Great, many thanks ... that fixed it ... now it's working, I have 3D on :)))
But still unsure ... it looks like as I still have done something wrong ... back then, I remember, as I had a wrong profile or something like that ... Claire is very sharp for me, but the rest on the screen isn't.
Do you see everything sharp?

The F4 hotkey toggles off image sharpening, which is very strong in this game. With it or without it, sharpness is equal for everything. If it's something strange, post a screenshot.
i joined this late but is your fix for 3D vision users only?
If you don't play in 3D, I guess you came for the sharpening, vignette and HUD toggles, right? Then it works for everyone. It's just 3D what is exclusive to 3D Vision. Also, if you play in 3D you don't have to worry about the crashes we have been talking about in this thread.
If you can wait 1 or 2 hours, I'm going to release a version that doesn't need any change in "re2_config.ini". I'm testing some things before that.

Ok, thx ... F4 didn't changed anything for me ... I made some screenshots, these are .jps files ... how can I show them here?
EDIT:
ah, got it :D

BTW ... game is great ... very nice shocking moments :)
