I'm thinking about getting the GTX 465 sometime in the next few weeks. Money is extremely tight for me, so I thought that it would be a good compromise since the GTX 470 is just too far away from my budget. I've perused several benchmarks showing that the card was performing relatively poorly all things considered, but I really do feel that it would be a decent option as an upgrade for my GTX 275 in 3D. This post shows the GTX 465 admirably competing with the GTX 285 edition. I do feel that it should perform better, but it still looks pretty good to me. I used the exact same settings for the Crysis Warhead benchmark for my GTX 275 (which is overclocked a tad) and I was averaging around 13 FPS compared to the GTX 465 which was getting 29 FPS on stock clocks with a 10 FPS minimum greater than my average.
I have $100 ready for it so another $180 shouldn't be too difficult to come up with (especially with a 50 hour work week this week) and I could sell my GTS 250 on ebay to cover most of it. I considered getting another GTX 275, but I think my 700 watt PSU wouldn't be enough so that would put me in GTX 470 territory price-wise. Then I considered SLI'ing two GTS 250's since I already have one, but I really don't think they would be better than my GTX 275.
Anyone planning on buying the GTX 465 or have any thoughts about it. I have a great gaming experience in 3D with my GTX 275, but I want just a tad bit better performance/ eye candy.

No thoughts on the 465 here, but I've got an 480 and I very much like the grafics of dx11.
Badco 2 for example... ,the smoke ,the dust and pieces of earth from grenade impacts looks great !
Everything looks so much sharper in DX11.
Some people don't agree, but I see alot of difference compared to my gtx285.
I do want a DX11 nvidia card to replace my GTX260 core216, but the 465 prices I'm seeing don't look competitive at all. I'll stick with what I have. Really don't wanna pay £240+ when my GTX260 was only £130 with free Batman AA, and runs everything just fine even in 3D (because I have a CRT and can use 1280*960).

Just get another 275. I run 2 ftw editions on a 750watt psu with all kinds of other crap like soundcard and 10 USB devices, u should be fine. The 465 is not impressive and honestly niether is the 470, I'm waiting for some 475s and 485s. I will say I am intrigued by the dual gpu 470s comming out but why not a dual gpu 480?

Also 2 stock 275s are faster than a single 480. The fermis really only beat them on stuff that does tessalation. So yea just get another one and overclock the balls out of it. You will be happy, I know I am.

I really would like to go the GTX 275 SLI route, but I'm just worried that my PSU wouldn't be enough. I'd really hate to damage my components. Granted that's a worst case scenario, but still possible. I suppose I could buy the second 275 and then save up for the new PSU but, man, that's gonna bug the crap out of me having a 275 just sitting in my room staring at me.

there are secondary powersupplies for cheap that can go into a drive slot. It s not more than 50usd.
Get a 465 best case you get 470 perfomance if you r lucky you can OC it to GTX480+ .
Dont buy 275, its an end of life product and no dx11 will suck. Plus you get 2 of those hogs (275) in your pc once you upgrade , not neat physics cards like me (2x GTS 250 , beats a single 275;) )
