So can I use the emitter I currently have and just buy the glasses?

I want to know too. That lightboost tech sounds cool, but I'll take that 20% larger lens for now.
Buying another monitor will have to wait, and I would hope you don't have to buy another IR kit too.
It appears they're using the same technology as the new Samsung monitors, if so this article explains the difference in the new switching mechanism.

I want to know too if i can use the new glasses with current monitors (Acer GD245HQ) and get the improved brightness...
As it says here "For use with any 3D Vision Ready Display"
This mean they will work with old ones but the LightBoost will only be activated on new Monitors with LightBoost feature(like this Asus from the advert). Only adventage you get is bigger lens and new designe.

I hope this works with the acer GD235HZbid cus I'm building a new pc and I would like to know before I but the 3d vision kit.

Looks really good, will have to read some reviews/testimonials about what kind of improvements they made overall but there's a lot of pros and not any cons that I can think of:

1) Backward compatible with existing 3D Vision hardware, ie. IR emitter and 3D Vision displays.

2) 20% larger lenses; canopy around the lenses to help block peripheral light.

3) Soft composite materials to address common complaint about arm comfort, especially with gaming headphones.

4) Same pricing as existing 3D Vision glasses and kits ($149 for kit, $99 for extra pair).

5) Lightboost technology with newer compatible 3D Vision displays (need to see how this plays out).
I'd want to see if they helped improve signaling/cross-talk on older 3D Vision monitors. Too bad I just bought an extra-pair of glasses, I guess this explains why there's so many cheap extra pairs on sale on Ebay (I got mine for ~$50). That Asus 27" also looks really nice, gotta love the clean lines/bezel and stand on any display really.

Hell YES! Finally! I was just about to cave in and buy another pair of these uncomfortable glasses, and finally they get more comfy looking ones with bigger lenses :D Now i can game in comfort and save the head-pinchers for guests on movie night lol.
At $100, i'll be buying a pair as soon as they're available, for sure!
I'm also very interested in reviews/pricing for the new Asus 27". I've been wanting a more portable 3D display for LAN parties and such. As it is now, everyone has to come to my house for them since i cant haul my 60" very easily lol. If the price is right I could see this being a good alternative.
*edit*
Also gotta say i'm really pleased and happy that Nvidia listens to user feedback like this. I've been requesting redesigned glasses with just these exact changes made (softer frame thats more comfy, esp with headphones, larger lenses), and here they are. Cool to feel like your voice might have actually been heard lol
Now that we have (presumably) fixed the hardware-related 3Dvision issues, lets move on to that opengl compatibility, eh? lol or just wider dx support

As much as I would like the latest tech I already dropped over $500 for this monitor and can't upgrade it for quite a while.
