Yep I just got home and tried it at 50Hz and while the flicker is now seen in the glasses (I did start to feel a bit of pain behind the eyes and a headaick coming on because of it) I am happy to say the ghosting is reduced by about a good 50% (which means my theory is correct) making games like boarderlands look much better. But ghosting was very much still noticeable in the sky and around the red gun with the yellow sand behind it.
So it's my feeling that ghost free 3D vision is just not here yet, not because of the glasses but because of the monitor thats ment to be '3D Ready' but is more of an 'Almost 3D Ready' monitor...
Shame I dont want to return all this stuff, but I refuse paying £340 for an almost ready technology. If only Nvidia had been a bit more thorough with samsung and the quality of the monitors pixel refresh I would not be here now :(
Hey maybe in another year when good monitors come out at half the price :)
Yes, compared to the DLP I would call my LCD almost 3D Ready since the top part of the image shows more ghosting while the rest is pretty good...not perfect but good enough that you can play and not "see" it unlike anything that shows on the top part or when extremely bright scenes are displayed.
And you don't have the type of ghosting like I do?
I am the same, albeit I do not like ghosting whatsoever, as mine is only the top 2/3 cm of the screen its hardly noticeable so I plan to keep my tech and see where it leads to with compatibility on other games and newer drivers (not that it will fix the ghosting) but see how it fares on games to come, most notably CoD MW2 :)
Although it should not have been released as stated above, I just got paid so £340 wasn't a huge hit, plus I ordered mine online and I don't want all that hassle of sending it back for 2/3cm

I'm glad someone finally posted a photo to prove it is real problem. Has any progress been made on this issue? I'm also using a Samsung 2233 "3D Vision Ready" monitor with similar disappointing results.

9 pages and we still not have isolated the problem, are faulty glasses or faulty monitors samsung/viewsonic ? or both ?
Or is just a timing issue?
honesly the only chance we have is to wait a new release with a new hardware revision of the faulty part, or a new driver release if it's a timing/sync problem, when we have discovered what is the faulty one obviously... /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />
I bet this issue can nearly eliminated if they let us fine tuning the sync between the glasses and the monitor

Thats the answer from the Nvidia customer Service:
Hello Daniel,
Thanks for your information and picture.
The problem you describe is a known limitation with the Samsung and Viewsonic monitor and not the kit or drivers. If your not satisfied you can return the kit to the store within 30 days no questions asked for your money back.

I wrote to SAMSUNG and confronted the Service with the Answer from Troy ... U know what: they answered - but read it yourself:
"The Problem you describe is because of the glasses, or the driver from Nvidia !!! It can't be, that the 3D in the middle of the screen is better, as on the top of screen !
You have 3D - or you have NO 3D !!! Check your Drivers and the glasses ! Ghosting at the top of screen is a result of bad drivers..."
So what now ???
Nvidia say: "Samsung's fault!" Samsung say: "Nvidia's fault!"
U all can see, we have a very big problem here - because, there will be no fix - and no update !!!
But i could have a look on the ASUS Laptop with 120hz Screen and 3D Vision compatibility: you know what ? NO GHOSTING at the top of the screen !!!
So for me, it sounds like that not the driver is problematic - but the panel from samsung !!!

Did you test your glasses on the Asus laptop and there was no ghosting?!!?

I have been saying this all along, if it was the glasses or the drivers then why the DLP has no issues at all?
Yes !!! A good friend of mine ordered it by amazon.de and get it last friday !!! Absolutly stunning - and better picture as on the samsung 2233rz with lesser ghosting !
I took my glasses with me and tried them too on his asus - NO GHOSTING at top of screen !!!
And of course, there was a little bit of bright and dark ghosting's - but much lesser than on the samsung 2233rz !!!
Absolutly top of the class product ...
but now let's stop with the marketing and go back to the issues we have with 3D Vision on a 2233Rz !!!

Go in 3D-Mode and hold the button on your glasses and look (left-, rightglass or both together going black for few seconds). I think it is a problem of glasses...

Did this trick before... With every 3D Vision Glasses in 3D Mode and on every Samsung 2233 RZ is the top-of-the-screen-ghosting visible ... !!! ONLY the Asus G51 has no noticeable ghosting at the top of the screen ! Next week i'll try the Viewsonic monitor, when a friend get's his one !!! I will informate you, if there is ghosting at the top-of-the-screen too...

i just got my 3d kit yesterday and i'm having the ghosting with my samsung monitor to. kinda distracting really. kinda blows. i wasn't expecting it to be like this. the 3d kicks major ass on 70% of the screen. if the top didn't ghost you could really go hardcore with the depth.
hopefully samsung can release a driver update for the monitor to fix the issue.

I do not have it that bad, not at all.

I'm glad someone finally posted a photo to prove it is real problem. Has any progress been made on this issue? I'm also using a Samsung 2233 "3D Vision Ready" monitor with similar disappointing results.

Or is just a timing issue?
honesly the only chance we have is to wait a new release with a new hardware revision of the faulty part, or a new driver release if it's a timing/sync problem, when we have discovered what is the faulty one obviously...
I bet this issue can nearly eliminated if they let us fine tuning the sync between the glasses and the monitor

Funny thing is tho, when i first tried them it was fine. Then when i reinstalled the new drivers, i ran into ghosting issues....
Old drivers where far worse tho, i could barely play anything.....
