My double image / ghosting problem
Hi.
Fist of all, i'm new to these forums, so greets to everyone.
I've just bought the 3d Vision kit and ran it for a few days. My current specs are:
2xGTX 470 2-way SLI
Acer GD245HQ
Latest drivers (197.41 atm)
Win 7 x64

I have searched the forums before posting, but i haven't found exactly the problem i have, maybe because i don't exactly know if it's double image or ghosting.
On every test i have done, i was in a pitch black room, with 100% brightness, tried with and without vsync, 30 min. warm monitor, always with the same results, and that is my glasses seem to not full block the other eye's image. That results in a very uncomfortable experience. On racing games i can handle with it, but on 3d shooters and RTS games it's quite annoying.
I always see a "ghostly" image of the other eye's image. The more depth i put, more sepparated those images are, and more annoying it becomes. And it's on the full screen, not only on top/bottom.

Is this "normal" or are my glasses faulty?
Is there any way to avoid or minimize that?

Thanks in advance.

I would say normal, hold the power button when your glasses are shuttering and it will keep one of the lens blacked out and have a look through it.
I find it is not uniform across the lens for the blocking of light and it seems the darkest part of the lens runs straight down the middle with surrounding area being very opaque.
Even the darkest part down the middle of the glasses is too opaque.
It really does prove how far off the shutter is from doing it's job correctly, I have ever only had Nvidia's shutter glasses so I cannot compare to any others.
This will change soon for me as I have on the way another brand and technology to compare, the quest for ghost free 3D continues.

The only 3D experience i've had so far to compare was watching Avatar on the Cinema, and barely noticed any ghosting there. I will try tonight if the glasses have any better/worse shutter zone on the glass surface.
