Yeah, that's sad. Just like with stereoscopic gaming, why can't all the nay sayers just ignore it but must actively shout out their ignorance af if it were fact? I mean, what would 3D support cost in a modern television set, three cents or five per unit (plus the glasses of course)? The technology is there, but they simply refuse to sell it. Same with that thread at Ubi forums. Why delete it? As if it were an argument *against* a game if it supports 3D...
Btw/ Google finds a thread in Ubisoft Watch Dogs 2 forum, mentioning the patch on helixmod. Truth be told I posted on the Ubisoft forums hoping that it might drum up a bit of support inside their company, same reason I keep tagging them on Twitter and Facebook (they did "like" one of my 3D screenshots on Twitter: https://twitter.com/DarkStarSword/status/824651368245846016 ). I plan on writing back pointing out that the mod does not alter the gameplay in any way shape or form, nor does it give a player any sort of advantage over another - it does not affect online play in any significant way. We have also quite clearly stated the risks of it triggering a false positive in EAC on the download page for the mod and provided instructions to disable EAC and multiplayer to remove that risk - AND that we contacted EAC ahead of time to make sure they were aware of the mod and what it is for so that they don't mistake it for a cheat. I'd like to also be able to point out that the mod has actively created sales for the game so it is in their interest to support the work, or at the very least not to discourage it, quoting any post I can find that supports this fact. At the time of writing there are 1,396 views on the blog in the last month and 8,842 views on the forum in the last two months (I don't have actual download statistics, but we know there is a strong correlation between views and downloads). I've probably already got more than enough quotes from this thread already to make my point (below), but if you have bought this game because of my 3D Vision mod (and especially if you would have skipped it otherwise) and would like to tell Ubisoft, please do let me know and I'll add it as well:
Thank you so much DarkStarSword for your amazing work on this title too! Even if, presumably, 2D won't give two-eyed humans ocular cancer, it will definitely gift them with depression. As about the game: it looks very nice - in 3D. I find it kind of ironic though, that, it's creators (ubisoft), while they seem to be mesmerised by the concept of computer high-tech, with all their collective brain power, are still incapable of delivering something which a small handful of individuals are able to do in their free time. Yes, and like it is fashion as of late, at Ubi they have knowledge about alternative facts ;) And of course, I only bought the game when I knew there was a fix coming, on the first day DarkStarSword released the first beta. I spent 99 bucks including the Seasons Pass. I only buy games that I know are playable at least decently in 3D. I skipped Dishonored 2 for that reason. In fact, I care for this since my first 3D disappointment, which was Skyrim, and that was the day when I found out about Helixmod in the first place. Edit: This is a list of games that I bought only because I knew they were 3D ready: Alice Madness Returns Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag Dishonored Deus Ex Mankind Divided <-- nearly perfect without patch, yey Square Enix! Divinity Original Sin <-- actually, I bought this before but waited to play until the fix was out Fallout 4 Far Cry 3 Far Cry 4 GTA 5 Skyrim <-- like written above Thief 3 <-- nearly perfect without patch, yey Square Enix! Tomb Raider series <-- nearly perfect without patch, yey Square Enix! Trine, Trine 2 <-- both perfect without patch Watch Dogs 2 The list is not complete. And there are many games that I played and found the patch afterwards (e.g. Mass Effect series, Crysis series, Witcher series, Stalker series), but I would not buy any game today without knowing it's 3D ready.

@helifax Well, I'm a living proof that THERE IS ignorance on Earth. Before your quote, I momentarly ignored the fact that, with knowledge, someone can play the ignorant just to hide incompetence, lazyness and/or bad intention... @skr68 If anybody could find even one title on my list of games purchased on Steam, Origin or Ubi, which is not 3D ready, by original release and mainly because of the fixes from the great people at Helixmod, well... I'm willing to eat that game without even a glass of water...;)
;) And that is more "hazardous" than the genuine incompetence :( (When people don't want to learn or just ignore what they did learn :( ) To the list: The only game that I play (and know of) that is not part of the official 3D Vision List (found in Nvpanel) is SWTOR. (Star Wars: The Old Republic - MMO). Needs some tweaking but is pretty much flawless;) (Some convergence profiles are needed and some things need to be disabled - to really make it shine. But it works "close" to perfection out of the box. ;) )

I'm thinking if I only respond to the moderators it will almost certainly end there, but an open letter could get attention from higher ups... Thoughts?

Yep, pretty much have to agree it's too easy for mods to just skip it. Open letter is better at getting some attention. However, if you really want attention from companies the only thing I've seen that works nowadays is social media, especially Twitter. Maybe respond to mods first as a courtesy, then if they don't care/drop it, move on to social media.

OK guys, now that I am being quoted, I went through this thread and must correct myself: - I bought the game on January 3rd, one day after DarkStarSword released Alpha 0.2 (there was no Beta actually). But I swear I made up my mind on January 1st when Alpha 0.1 came out! - I spent 99.95 Euros at Amazon (they were 5 cent cheaper than Ubi ;) plus the patreon support for DarkStarSword, this game being the reason I joined there at all. Btw/ any ideas when the first story DLC will be released? I hope they do not make the new shaders too difficult to be fixed...

And please pose the letter here, too, or you will lose me ;) Edit: I noticed that Google does not find Watch Dogs 2 on helixmod. Only watch_dogs2 is found. Maybe DarkStarSword you should rename that posting?
