All yall hypin' on 3D must haven't played in NVIDIA Surround. It's like sitting in the corner on timeout, it's by no means open and immersive like 3D is. That said, you can have both... 3D Vision across 3 Monitors or Projectors... so win win for 3D Vision.
Of course I have bezels, but they disappear to the mind when gaming. NVIDIA Surround + 3D Vision sounds great, except I have both and shutter glasses are just terrible. VR headset would be the best of both worlds.
I don't even have my 3D monitor hooked up anymore. I'd rather game in Surround at 60FPS or a single monitor at 120FPS than 3D at 60FPS in each eye.
Anyway, the reason I brought up Surround is because ID Software did a great job with it on The Old Blood and I have high hopes they won't let me down with DOOM 4. Although looking at the videos 120FPS might be best for that fast of action.

Shutter glasses? 3D Vision glasses are probably the best pair of glasses that I own, with the exception of not being able to swap sync. I've been using them over my DLP-Link glasses ever since I found out they worked with my DLP... there's no crosstalk with them/DLP, they're comfortable... even upside down, etc. Not sure how you can call them just terrible... they do exactly what they were designed for and well.

Left eye, right eye, left eye, right. Plus the darkening of the screen. It's headache inducing.
Maybe it's because I have v1.0 of 3D Vision. I've tried it on my friend's 65" curved 4K LED TV and it was pretty good. The glasses are lighter on the face and don't darken the picture as much.
I promised my girl I wouldn't buy a VR headset tho. I might not ever come out of it.

My TV gets brighter when in 3D Mode due to the DLP-Link but I'm not sure if that actually affects the brightness or not, either way I have a gamma +/- adjustment if I needed it... the old shutter glasses/drivers had a gamma adjustment for when 3D kicked it but they stupidly disabled it with 3DV and then rolled out LightBoost for 3DV2...
I also have a friend who was blown away from 4k... .said to me doesn´t it almoust look 3D .....................................Sorry dude NO
Lol... I will say the more detail the better 3D appears, I don't think it looks as nice on older games... but I'd still rather play them in 3D than 2D. There's been quite a few times I've been surprised at what people consider 3D/good 3D, hell one time it was just that 2D was being pushed into the screen... *smh*

Yah, I ran into that in a few games. I wondered if they worked correctly on older drivers with the profile or if the person that made the profile actually thought it was 3D.
It's weird because the image is set back, but the separation is parallel to infinity in them.

One that I remember off the top off my head is Greed: Black Border, I bought it awhile back and fired it up long enough to see if 3D kicked in. But I just checked it and it actually doesn't have a profile assigned to it. So we can't blame the profile maker for it. But it does suffer from the problems.
edit: nvm, it works fine now.
