Try a game that is more optimized for high resolutions and SLI. The engine for SWTOR is crap, sadly. No idea why they ever used it to begin with. I'm thinking DOA isn't much better. Maybe zig or someone else using 4K with SLI can post a game that works well for them with minimal trouble/configuring. Sorry, it wasn't very clear when you posted. But it still seams like some apple to oranges stuff in your comparison
Ok, maybe I'm not explaining what I'm seeing very well. I have actually been looking at gpu usage, rather than fps, which during my investigations the games have been locked at 60 fps. Everything else has been identical (resolution, game settings etc). In active 3d vision, gpu usage is at 30% in 2d mode, 60% in 3d mode (effectively halving performance - if I was at 100% in 2d mode, i would be getting 30 fps in 3d mode, roughly). In passive 3d vision, gpu is at 30% in 2d mode and roughly 80% in 3d mode (so way more taxing). Tridef sits in the middle at about 70% gpu usage. In passive mode, when I open the game with 3d selected in the control panel, the 3d effect is 'hidden' by default, and gpu usage is at 60%; when I hit cntrl+t to activate it, gpu usage goes up to roughly 80%. Active 3d vision remains at 60% gpu usage, regardless of whether 3d is hidden/shown by cntrl+t. I.e passive 3d vision is of the same performance as active when 3d is 'hidden', but activated in the control panel, but way more taxing when 3d is 'shown'.
AFAIK, TriDef still doesn't support SLI and SLI can actually worsen performance is some games

I've re-read my posts, and I certainly haven't been very clear! I appreciate the suggestions you have offered, and you are right, I should perhaps try a few different games (Bioware have never been renowned for their technical prowess; I've never got my head around the decision to go with an engine that's main drawback is that it can't handle a lot characters on screen at any one time, in an MMO. p.s - if the brief previews of Andromeda are anything to go by perhaps what they used to be renowned for is somewhat questionable now too.) I've been somewhat puzzled by what I have read about tridef, as everywhere seems to suggest SLI shouldn't be possible, but, for DAO and SWTOR at least, gpu usage has been evenly spread (and less than passive nvidia on the lg). Perhaps something has changed more recently as far as SLI is concerned. I'll try a few more things, as I still think something funky is going on.

Perhaps the optimization guide by helifax may help https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/989334/ BTW, how much memory do you have installed? I can't be very muck help, W7, single 980ti, with a 1440P monitor here. Perhaps try Tomb Raider 2013, the game, as well as it's benchmark?

Ill have a look at that, cheers. 32gb (I used to put the whole of swtor onto a ram disk), and a 5820k for what its worth. As a more apples to apples comparison, on the lg, 4k resolution: DAO 3D off gpu 2 usage 15% DAO 3D on gpu 2 usage 60% SWTOR 3D off gpu 2 usage 20% SWTOR 3D on gpu 2 usage 65% 60 fps in all examples, and the clock speeds were the same. Definetely need to try some more games, but that doesnt look right.

Hi. I'm new to this site but I'm really glad you guys are working on this. I didn't know if 4k and 3D would come together given the market trends. The combination is amazing! I did the Acer4k override on a LG OLEDC6. Yeah, it took a bunch of trouble shooting, but the results are dazzling! I would've given up but for Soundblstr's post that let me know it was possible. I had two questions for anyone who can help. 1) I know some of you are using Joker18's 55UC970 EDID with an LG OLED. Does it work better than the Acer 4k override? 2) Using the Acer4k override I can only get a 3d image at 3840x2160. Any other resolution creates a double image when 3D is activated. The thing is my card can't handle every game at 4K and I have to drop resolution. Does this have to do with the "just scan" mode on aspect ratio? I have my input icon set to PC so I don't can't turn it on. Please let me know if you've figured this out. Thanks!

If you don't want to wait for an answer Connect the TV on a second HDMI port using a DVI to HDMI cable and try the other override. There's also a Display Port to HDMI 4K@60 adapter available from Club3D. Then you just have to switch the inputs and not have to redo what you've already done. Provided that your 4K offers HDR on additional inputs.

You can try both EDID's and use the one with less/none ghosting, colorbug issues. If you want to play in lower resolutions, 2015 and older LG 3DTV's have a manual "line interleaved" option (next to checherbox). If you have this in TV's 3D options select it. If you don't have this option, you need to upscale lower resolution to 4K with third party: - Use 3DMigoto's T&B and SBS options for DX11 titles. T&B has the better image than SBS. (Upscaling done by TV) - You can use GeDoSaTo with DX9 titles for upscaling to 4K. - You can use Tridef, a third party Stereoscopy software for games and other medias. Tridef can upscale any game without DX limitations (except DX12) and it has best upscaling quality, better than both above options. Some games may not work, crash or have issues. If you use Tridef just for upscaling, you have to disable it's own 3D option. You can find more detailed info about all these above options in the forum starting from this thread.

Hey Fellas. Well I tried Joker's EDID on the display port and it seemed okay so I installed it into my working HDMI port. I didn't think to check the 3D. On my system it recognizes the EDID as an LG RVU display and does not allow for stereoscopic setup. So, I switched back to the Acer4K EDID. My computer now allows for 3Dsetup but it's broken. The eyeswapper doesn't work, don't get the green on screen depth display, and everything looks off. When I adjust depth and convergence and instead of getting images that move in and out I get more parallax images. I've spent hours uninstalling/reinstalling the EDID and Nvidia drivers and clearing with DDU. What it seems like to me is that Joker's EDID continues to perish in my system. Is there any way to flush out the EDID and reset back to my original LG C6 state? Or, is there anything else I can try? Would sorely appreciate some help, because if not I have to take the "nuclear option" and reinstall Windows and my external GPU hacks. Thanks!

Simply using DDU with clean NVIDIA driver install should be sufficient to remove EDID override, restoring Generic monitor driver. By the way, I continue to use joker18's EDID mod without issue, using HDMI connector on my GPU and 4K certified HDMI 2.0 cable. With 3DVisionEye Swapper app, no Registry changes are required. Refer to SoundBlstr's link (posting #159) for more EDID installation discussion.

An edid override will not come back on it's own once you replaced it or removed it. First of all if you install an edid you must disable driver signature enforcement. If you don't do it the Edid will not install. If the edid is not working you can simply press delete in device manager and it will go back to generic. Or course after this operation you either restart the PC or restart just the driver using CRU. edwardsean, you are ost probably doing something wrong. The name of the device should be ACER LG TV(ACR02B9 ....) not be LG RVU, Do you have more inf files in the same folder?

Joker, Thanks for replying. Yes, I was in a rush to try and get everything working. I forgot to make clear that I don't mean that it's your EDID that is at fault. I am going through the process correctly however including disabling the driver signature. Everything worked perfectly with the Acer4K EDID. For some reason your override did stay in my system even after several attempts at uninstalling with delete and DDU. As D-man suggested, you can access hidden devices in the device manger and see previous drivers. Even when the monitor driver shows "Generic PNP," the Nvidia control panel still reads your EDID and displays LG RVU. This does really odd things to the 3D. Again, it's just on my system for some weird reason. I really do appreciate all your efforts and for helping me with this situation. I'm in the midst of a full Windows reinstall. It's been neither quick nor painless. Sigh, what we do for 4K.

Joker, I just realized what it could be. There were two files attached to your post: 55UC970 modat.tif 55UC970.tif. I used the modat one because I read it worked for someone here. Did I use the wrong file. Should I have used the other one? Also, I did try downloading them again but the link on your post leads me to a blank page. Could you check the link? Thanks!

The right file is 55UC970 modat.tif the other one is just original edid.
