Workaround. Batman Arkham City and Origins with high convergence
If someone is interested... I made a workaround for me to play Batman Arkham City and Origins with very high convergence. Maybe here are others who like really high convergence gameplay.
For me is the standard camera to close when i only walk and of the other side to far away for combats.
So the problem is not the FOV, it is the camera who zooms in and out.
This workaround changes both, the camera and the FOV.
I tried a long time with the ini files but it’s not possible to change the camera Zoom without a crash when start the game. Or I don’t find it out ;)
That means I need Cheat Engine to lock the Z – camera in one value. I hope it is ok to post this file. It can nothing else then change one value for Z-cam.
Here are some screenshots like it now look.

How to do:
- Download Cheat Engine 6.6 and install
- Download my files
https://www.dropbox.com/s/qsrmof39jelwtug/ArkhamCityandOriginsCameraFOV.zip?dl=0
- There are 2 folders for City and Origins
- Go to the camera folder and copy the BmInput.ini file and overwriting the original in these path ( make a Backup of your original file)
For Arkham City: C:\Users\YourUser\Documents\WB Games\Batman Arkham City GOTY\BmGame\Config
For Origins : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Batman Arkham Origins\SinglePlayer\BMGame\Config
- Important! Make the BmInput.ini Read only !
- Now the amazing 3DMigoto. Go to the 3DMigoto Folder und past the content to the game.exe directory
Arkham City: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Batman Arkham City GOTY\Binaries\Win32
Arkham Origins: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Batman Arkham Origins\SinglePlayer\Binaries\Win32
Go to my files and open the camera folder for the chosen game. DoubleClick the BatmanXXXCamera.ct file. Cheat Engine opens. Now we are ready to start the game.
Run the Batman Game and load your savegame. Then tab to CheatEngine.
Press the little PC Symbol up on the left side. Choose the batman process ( similar BatmanAC.exe) and Open.
Now activate the first box ( 3D Vision Camera script). Go back to the game.
Now hold * and press space. The camera changes the zoom. Tab back to Cheat Engine. Now in the section Value must stand -264. When ok click the second box to lock this value.
( Do not use any other value. I tried a lot but it gives problems. In Arkham City are other values possible but with more things to do that this works fine. )
Go back to the game and reactivate 3Dvision. ( CTRL and T)
Now the Camera is fixed. Now you can choose your preferred FOV. The FOVs are on the Numpad Numbers.
0 = Standard, 1 = low, for Batmans Hacker Tool. For some quests you need this lower FOV as example in Arkham City the quest Cold Call Killer.
2-9, as higher the number as higher the FOV. I prefer 0 or 6 in Arkham City and 0 or 2 in Origins.
When you die you need to reactivate your FOV. The camera is still right.
It works very well but for Batmans Hackertool or some Cut scenes you need a lower convergence setting. And for that is 3DMigoto. In the d3dx.ini are my settings. Change it when it’s too high.
The Keys are Xbox left thumb for two convergence Settings and right thumb for a very high convergence. Both Keys with a delay because of a Batman Gadget. And for Keyboard is it the B button and the N button. For the depth i prefer arround 60%. It is realistic and better for higher convergence.
One thing: In Origins you must disable the camera script before you leave the game. Else it sometimes crashes. Arkham City does not have this problem.
Ok much Text but it’s simple. I need 30 seconds extra to activate this when I play a Batman game.
With this settings i played 3-4 hours per game.
Excuse my english…
