I played around a bit more with the graphics options and one that I noticed which had a huge impact on the fps was the option "High Precision". With it enabled I had a significant decrease in fps, a lot more so than say tesselation. And to be honest I didn't really notice any difference between "High Precision" being on or off. Now if I enable tesselation with "High Precision" off, there doesn't seem to be any significant hit on the performance as when before tesselation definitely had a hit on the fps. So with "High Precision" off and with everything else @ max (except TressFX which imo isn't all that great to begin with), it's now completely smooth. Also as someone here mentioned before, for now, the best fix for the crosshairs is to lower depth to around 20-30% from the in game menu and increase the convergence to about 120-130% with the registry hack. This way the 3D is still very good but the crosshair is very close to what it should be. Still hopefully there'll be a patch or a fix for the 3D crosshair so we can play the game @ max depth, but with the stuff I mentioned above, it's still very playable as the crosshair is very close to being "spot on" while the 3D being still very good.

Is this even possible to be used with this game as it uses its own renderer though? All we would have to do is to set low depth and convergence values when the right mouse button is pressed and when it's released the values would go back to their normal higher values. This way there wouldn't really be a real need for a 3D crosshair fix?

Yeah. none of the "usual" fixes don't seem to work because it uses its own renderer. So the best settings for good enough 3D effect and accurate crosshairs I've ended up with for the time being (these were mentioned earlier in this topic by someone, so the credit goes to whom originally posted them) is to set the in-game stereoscopic depth to around 20-30% and then use the registry hack DeviiL posted on page 6 (link here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/532954/3d-vision/tomb-rider-survivor-in-3d/6) to increase convergence to 125%-130%. This way the 3D is still very good and the crosshairs are pretty much spot-on. Naturally if one increases the convergence, in some places it'll break the image if something is too close to the screen, but this occurs mostly just in cutscenes and such, so normal gameplay isn't affected all that much. Also the latest patch improved performance a whole lot (even on nVidia cards) and also added the missing post-processing effects in fullscreen mode so the game now looks a whole lot better than before. I'm still getting a random crash with Tessellation on but it's certainly not as as frequent as it was before the patch and those who are still experiencing performance issues (especially on nVidia cards), I suggest you try to turn off "High Precision" as it being off seemed to give me a more fluid performance (not as much in fps, but it just felt more smooth and responsive than compared it to being turned on). I mean I still get good enough performance with everything @ max (except TressFX off) but tinkering with Tessellation and High Precision seem to have the most impact on fps in general. I also turned the in-game v-sync off and turned the adaptive v-sync on in the nVidia control panel as I've read the in game v-sync is a little buggy and can also be a cause for some of the crashes. I'm using the latest betas (314.14) which recently got an SLI profile update for Tomb Raider and it seemed to at least lessen the ctd's and made SLI scaling a bit better. So with the settings and drivers I'm using now, I'm getting around a constant 45-60fps depending on the scene (all of this is of course with Stereoscopic 3D turned on), so it's not as bad as it used to be. Hopefully we'll get a new Tomb Raider optimized driver from nVidia soon because the performance should still be a whole lot better than it is now. And of course let's not forget the most important which is a proper crosshair in 3D (I've read that the developers are aware of this and have promised to look into it, and also I remember reading that nVidia is also aware of the 3D crosshair issue) so maybe we'll get his game fixed properly at some point, hopefully sooner than later of course.
Yeah, if you just lower the depth to around 20-30%, you should get the crosshairs in quite the right place. Increasing the convergence to a higher value than the game allows sort of compensates for the lack of depth so that's why I suggest people to try it out because it really gives you a better 3D experience (especially with the low depth because of the crosshair issue) compared to what the in game sliders allow you to have.

Hi, yes there is a reg key.
I am a sucker for high convergence :)

[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareCrystal DynamicsTomb RaiderGraphics]
"StereoStrength"=hex:02,00,00,40

This value is according to my calculations... about 150% 3D strenght.

Here, change the values on the regkey if you want to try

105% "StereoStrength"=hex:CD,CC,8C,3F
110% "StereoStrength"=hex:9A,99,99,3F
115% "StereoStrength"=hex:67,66,A6,3F
120% "StereoStrength"=hex:34,33,B3,3F
125% "StereoStrength"=hex:01,00,C0,3F

145% "StereoStrength"=hex:35,33,F3,3F
150% "StereoStrength"=hex:02,00,00,40

Hey guys, silly question. Where do I find this file? I downloaded the game through ORGIN but it plays through steam. I looked forever I couldn't find this file anywhere. Do I create it or what?

Just start the regedit.exe (bottom left corner of your Desktop --> Start icon --> just type regedit --> Double-Click on regedit.exe. Now looking at the explorer-bar on the left you just have to follow this path: HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Software\Crystal Dynamics\Tomb Raider\Graphics There you can edit stereoscopic strength and depth!

Just finished the story. 1-week of play time. It was fun. I feel sorry for those that are still not able to see/experience it. To bad not a single review site looked a this game in 3D - to me it was its #1 selling and redeeming feature. If you like the 3D visuals, make sure you drop comments at any of the review sites that you come across. Maybe if there's enough 'buzz' this game will get the 3D recognition that it deserves. Mark.
