Why 3d Vision vs other competing tech?
I am planning on purchasing a 27" 3d monitor for my PC, and it seems like 3d Vision dominates 3d PC the market. Acer already has their 27" 3d Vision compatible model out. I also understand that Samsung is releasing a new 27" 3d PC monitor (SA950) in the next month or two that uses their own proprietary 3d tech/glasses. I assume the 3d tech for the Samsung is similar to what they use on their tv's. From a technical standpoint, is there any reason that Nvidia's 3d solution is really the best way to go, or is is basically all the same tech the competitors are using. I will be using it mostly for PC gaming. Thanks for the help.

I'm using a Samsung HDTV/checkerboard so my response may not apply to your situation, but here goes...I've tried competitors TriDef3D and iZ3D. iZ3D gun models in most games are messed up in that they come out of the screen. Also, there's nowhere near the 'Pop'/seperation vs 3D Vision. Result is the 3D seems strange and unnatural. With TriDef, in most games the gun models are squished up, look like 2D. Neither of these probs ever exist with 3D Vision. Of the 15 or so games I've tried, they all had some problem except Medal of Honor. I played that game under TriDef, but all 3 drivers were comparable.
