Well I've bought the expensive PG278QR and was not satisfied and at that price I could not lie to myself and falsely try to be happy so I returned it. For the record I tried a second one and it was the same.
It's great in 2D, was so happy to finally jump from 24" to 27" and have 1440p but as of today I'm back on my trusted 24" BenQ XL2420TX. It is sad there is no more monitor that comes witn IR emitter integrated. I'm glad I still have an external one too for the day I will get a new 3D monitor.

Dugom what do you thing about changing the PCB from an VG278HE to VG278HV to become native 3D without EDID override.
It will work, or not worth the risk ?
Can't help you there, sorry, I'm no engineer. But if the screws match and you check the power numbers, maybe... ;D
I've never even tried the EDID for my OLED TV yet... (I've create the big thread though.)
I only use monitor to play 3D, TV are for 3D movies.

Pictures are from the 144Hz version (no R). You refuse to share the rabbit test picture of it...
If you don't want to share the rabbit test, at least share the Assassin's Creed Black Flag one. (which are very low séparation but we could compare something). Also you can share your setting for other customers, who's seeking a good 3D setting.
I've made a complete review above of the Q version (165Hz). It's a very good monitor. No color and reverse ghost if set correcly. Has I mention though, I only have tested 6 monitors, so it could easily have better one, but if nobody do the rabbit test we will probably just never know.

Dugom@ Sorry - I didn't realise that you where still editing the post :)
I don't have much more time for this, at least not today, but you can have my settings here, but they are not by any means magic :)
Lightboost: arround 50% depending on the time of the day !
Contrast: 45
Saturation: 55
Colortemp: User - added a little more red
Gamma: 2,5
Darkboost: level 3 - This is different I know, I'm still not sure if I'll keep it this way, but it does ad unseen details to dark areas, and to prevent washout which I hate :) I lowered lightboost 30-40%.
All in all this gives a detail- and color rich picture, but IMO the only setting that really can change crosstalk is contrast...
I know you don't believe it, but I'll repeat myself - I had alot more V-scanlines and maybe 50% more crosstalk with my old EVGA 980TI (maybe someone out there believes it:)
Anyway, I'm glad that you could agree on my - let's call it low crosstalk :)
Edit: It's the R model = 165HZ
Edit: AC:BF Does look wonderfull in 1440P, it has aged beautifully !! I might proceed so I find a hook eventually :)

New curved 1440P 16:9 TN panel monitor, the Asus ROG Swift PG27V
There's also the Wasabi Mango UHD430: 43-inch 4K 120Hz monitor, costs $1399. But it requires two Display port inputs, so the question would be if it would work in dual screen surround mode and if a EDID override or generic crt would work with it.

Whelp, think I'm returning my Dell S2716DG. Failed all these bunny tests. Wasn't noticing any crosstalk during the Nvidia stereo test before all this (unless I used the "Fast" response time, which uses overdrive that caused motion blur), but then I started playing FFXV in 3D and started noticing the crosstalk badly, and then I saw it: the dreaded pixel inversion. So sad, got it for a good price (and had some BestBuy gift cards I needed to use which I used towards this purchase), but the resolution bump to 1440P isn't worth these trade offs (especially since it made playing FFXV unplayable due to higher performance demands). Pretty sure no point in trying the Asus ROG Swift, since it's the same panel used. Guess I'll just have to stick with my BenQ XL2420TX.
Edit: Between trying the 2 min power down/unplug and dialing in some recommended settings & ICC profile, crosstalk was eliminated from gameplay but man, everything seems so dark! Whites look dull and dingy, and darker colours are almost indistinguishable on black backgrounds. I'm not sure if this is how it's supposed to be but I'm not used to it, or if it's actually incorrect, but it feels very weird to me. Then again, every time I've used test images to calibrate brightness and darkness I usually feel the same (and then adjust to my liking), so I guess it's just my taste is off vs what's considered correct. But that pixel inversion/scanlines issue is definitely still a thing. Once you see it you can't unsee it. I read some people mention that the PG278QR is much better for that, so I might return this and pony up the extra $$$ for the Asus.

Try to tilt it more backwards than you possibly normally do, then you might be able to hit a sweet spot, where the ugly scanlines is much less prone !
I have allmost zero crosstalk and scanlines, but remember to let it warm up for at least 15 min.
