Bayonetta on Steam

It's to bad that NIOH is a PS4 exclusive, I love the hack and slash games. It only took them 12 years of hemming and hawwing, to finally make and release it, back in February. Search youtube for Nioh Review for PS4 | PlayStation Enthusiast

If you people haven't read the bo3b school for shaderhackers thread, I managed to dump and modify shaders. I have fixed some reflections and put convergence and HUD depth hotkeys (copy-pasting some of my previous fixes :p). Smoke/mist is giving me more trouble, and some bloom is at screen depth. I think I'll have to disable that, with an optional hotkey probably.

Yah, if you read that Metal Gear thread that I linked in the other thread, Mike_ar69, ended up disabling a few things that were problematic as well. I'm glad that dumping is working now, GL and thanks for looking at this game.

My apologies for being a little over-enthusiastic Zig. I hope you don't end up regretting the purchase. I am a little farther along in the game now and, while I still think the 3D is pretty damn good, there are performance issues with significant framerate drops in 3D. Had to turn graphics settings to "low" and drop res to 1680x1050 to stabilize. Still looks good, though. I never paid much attention to Bayonetta on PS3, but it is a fun, crazy DMC-inspired game.

Fixed the smoke (for now it looks correct). The bloom problem isn't there if you disable the HDR option (because that strong bloom just isn't there). I'll post an early WIP version of the fix in.... less than half an hour. Let me polish some things a bit. By fixing reflections I broke something else (an effect that is behind the rings that enemies drop, and other elements. It has something to do with rain). It's less important, I think. I haven't touched cutscenes yet, which have an added depth problem or something like that. So, TheBigDogma, please wait a bit :).

Here it is, just before I go to bed: https://s3.amazonaws.com/masterotaku/Bayonetta/Bayonetta_WIP_fix_1.7z F1: gameplay convergence (it's high). F2: cutscenes convergence (it's low). F3: HUD depth presets. F5: disable/enable depth of field in cutscenes. At least I have (even without the fix) a one eye problem when I boot the game. I need to change the resolution and go back to 2560x1440 (my native resolution). Also, mash F1 to F3 when you are ready to play, because for some reason the fix isn't working until I load one of those profiles. Fixed: - Reflections at the start of the game (broke something about the rain surrounding objects, which is now at screen depth). - Smoke haloing. - Some more haloing of some attacks / enemies dying or whatever.

EDIT - SSAO is a huge performance drain in this game, just disable it and see if that fixes your framerate.

Nice. Still good to hear that helix's tool is in use. Glad you figured it out. useextinterface setting often needs GetCurDirAtLoad = true as well .Doubt there will be many more dx9 games though.
Nice. Still good to hear that helix's tool is in use.
It's not like I have any other option for a DX9 game :p. Incompatibility with Kaldaien's mod in Tales of Berseria (and maybe with recent versions of his Zestiria fix) is what frustrates me the most, because we don't have the source code for the helixmod dll (I wouldn't be able to do anything with it anyway, but other people may be able). It will take me about 10 hours to be at home, and I haven't finished that graveyard tutorial area. People, report issues here if you advance more than me in the game (I will encounter them too, but it's nice to know in advance).

Thank You for fixing this game! Since months I have tried to run Bayonetta on my PC with CEMU. It always had good perfomance but wasn't playable because of massive over-blooming (so I was quite "amused" when I started the PC-version with HDR on and again the game suffered from over-blooming when played in 3D...). I was happy when a blooming patch for CEMU was released I finally could play Bayonetta. But after some hours I stopped playing it - I couldn't stand to play an action game in 2D. When Superdepth3D also didn't work with Bayonetta on CEMU I almost gave up this game (BTW: Superdepth3D works with the PC-version: reshade 3 for Dx9, Superdepth3D 1.9.5, DM 1). But NOW I can play this game in all its stereoscopic glory :) Regarding performance: I get massive slowdowns in some areas when I look into certain directions (e.g. in the railway station). This only happens with 3DVision enabled. In 2D or with Superdepth3D or iZ3D I don't have this issue... Update: these "slowdowns" are (heavy) stuttering. When I use the speedhack from Cheatengine and run the game at 75% speed the stuttering in these situations disappears. Strange...
