Well SOMETHING has got to give with HDMI. They are talking about craking the resolution up to 4 times as many pixels as they have now! That's going to have to go at, what? 12Hz with the current HDMI standard? Heaven help you if you try doing 3D on one of those 4K TVs.

I know that the new 3d movies in production plan on using it(the hobbit). Its just wierd as hell that so many people talk about supporting it and it being supported(ati/amd's newest video card)....except we don't know what it is lol.

Here's hoping NVIDIA doesn't refuse to support it when they realize it makes 3D Vision monitors with dual-link DVI pointless.
[/quote]
Why would they refuse support? It'd be the development they are waiting for to fully and completely ignore Display Port adoption on their GPUs and still retain DL-DVI compatibility. Increased HDMI specs are a win for everyone in both the PC and HDTV space, unless you're AMD or Dell.

Well tech. nvidia does not support the new HDMI format at all yet. (You will actually need to buy a new video card) The only video card that supports it is radeon 7970. Hopefully cards will be available in multiple price ranges so we are not all forced to buy the high-end cards.
