L.A. Noire: Convergence and Depth Settings Not Working
Hey guys, been looking to finally get into this game but the 3D is being a pain. I can't change depth or convergence within the game. If I set the depth in the Nvidia prior to loading, that works. However, convergence is always fixed. I have tried Chiri's mod http://helixmod.blogspot.de/2013/05/la-noire.html but this does't seem to unlock anything, although I am not sure if I am using it right. Am I supposed to be mapping keys? I have read all the comments etc, but nothing is helping. Thanks for any help offered!

What driver version are you running? Chiri's unlocker/mod stopped working about 331.65 or so, because NVidia changed how nvapi.dll is loaded. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/624740/3d-vision/metro-last-light-convergence-unlock-issue-was-working-before-but-not-now/1/ You might, emphasis on might, be able to use 3Dmigoto with it, because the basic code is there too. Loads by a different technique, so nvapi will run, but I can't be sure if 3Dmigoto itself will run. If you just want a sure answer, and no jacking around- revert to driver 320.49 and use Chiri's mod.

Cheers Bo3b, thought that might be the case. I'm just putting up with the slightly lower convergence than I normally enjoy I think. Would rather not revert the driver as playing other newer stuff too. I use 3D less and less because of various issues such as this that took hours of trying to solve rather than just playing, and when Nvidia are also borking up old fixes it seems like they are against us. Oh Well, thanks again... the game is still pretty nice in 3D despite its horrible 30fps lock.

I didn't find the need to adjust convergence in this game, what with the notebook 'n' all. This is the one game that locking convergence was probably the right decision.

It may take an extra hour at most to find a way to make 3d work (if it's possible) when first starting a new game, but the effort is always worth it.

Other than the first series (season), Black Adder is one of my favourite comedies of all time. Anyway, I accept the gif... I would obviously rather play 3D where I can, but not when it's at the cost of broken shadows and things so wrongly displayed as to pull me out of the game. Each to their own, hopefully at some point all 3d games will be programmed for 3D so the tweakings not needed.
Chiri's fix included different depths for the notebook, so setting the game world didn't (should't) break that from what I understand. Your right though, the games original settings aren't too shabby. But I always find a little on the fly Depth and conversion tweaking can always create a much sweeter result, even if it's a micro adjustment. P.S. Good to see the same old guys still lurking around here, always good to see friendly faces. It's also troubling, where are the new customers!!!

Heh. You can blame the missus for introducing me to 'Mr. Bean' ... and well Netflix for the rest, Spaced!!! She has a thing for English accents, so ... no, you can never come over the house ... unless of course we're in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, then you might be good for a few laughs. :) Nah I understand to each they're own, I was just taking your words out of context and giving you crap about playing 3D less and less. I get not everyone is willing to spend a few days on finding and removing a single 'shadow' texture on a game they don't even own ... which happened to be a 'little white square' btw ... Lol, let alone a few hours on trying to get something to work. There's a few new faces around here there also seemed to be an influx of them right around Christmas, we also have 'lurkers' ... Hello Lurkers! Lol. :)

Blackadder is such amazing stuff. If you get british humour you need to check out The League of Gentlemen, some of the blackest comedy ever.
