1 Acer H5360 vs (3) Alienware 23" lcd monitors?
money not being the factor, what's more immersive: playing 3d on a large 100" 11-12 ft away on the Acer H5360 at 1280x720 or potentially playing in front of 3 Alienware 23" lcds in 3d surround at 5760x1080. Also, do you get less eyestrain/tired eyes playing further away from a projector than it is playing closer to a lcd? Is there more feeling of depth to the lcds since you are closer than it is to the projector and vice versa when it comes to convergence? I'm not sure whether to invest in the Acer projector or splurge and get 3 of the Alienware's for future 3d surround.

My choice would be 1 x LCD and 1 Projector.
I would love to see 3D in 100" screen (borderless, no ghosting) so I ordered H5360 but I won't be playing video game on 100" all that often.

Everything aside here is something you should consider.

Cost of beamer compared to cost of 3 monitors (nearly $1500!!!!!)

Then ... cost of the kind of GPU power you will need to push the 3 Monitors at acceptable fps ... 3 fermi?

:)

I've got two H5360's which are hanging from the ceiling. In terms of immersion i guess this is better than 3 lcd screens. When 3d surround comes out i'll have an 4m wide screen. I've asked andrew and 2 screens are supported for 3d vision ;).

But i've got to warn you in advance, alignment with projectors are a bitch. It's very hard to get rid of the border between the two screens whilist keeping them aligned. It is allot more work then just putting 3 monitors on your desk.

I'll bet it's worth the effort though

I'll be seriously considering at least one more h5360, if not two once 3d surround is available (not to mention dropping a small bomb on the cards I'll need to drive them

the only question really is whether the game designers will give us the ability to define the angles properly, as I'd prefer an inverted 'U' setup as opposed to just a wider front screen

It's all about the immersion
