I decided to try CD 1.18 and although it was a bit fiddly, it did install and does work !!!

Anyone else with a Samsung LED DLP get booted back to 3D Vision Discover (i.e. the dark ages) if they try to use the photo viewer after installing 1.17 (or 1.19) with the dual monitor work-around? I can get games and videos to work but not photos.

Got the same problem. Can't view S3D photos, games are fine with the workaround but photos bring the system back to "discover". Not all are lost however, I have figured out one important thing: You can't win with Nvidia, what you are buying is a privilege that can be revoked at anytime. Either that or shoddy coding.

Ouch, that's pretty harsh.
I think what's going on here is that the 3d vision product was always a niche, and at this point more than ever Nvidia isn't eager to sink too many resources into it. They most likely don't own all of the different displays they are supposedly compatible with, and on top of that, we only managed to get them to really acknowledge the problem right before a holiday break.
I honestly do believe this will come back to haunt Nvidia. The 3D market is ready to explode, and they're currently distancing themselves from their own flagship product. They've created a vacuum that is waiting to be filled.

Again, my patience for problems like this is far greater then my patience for problems without communication. Ever since they released this new driver and it didn't work for many people they've said _nothing_ to acknowledge that fact. Extremely frustrating. After 5 years of recommending nvidia always, I currently do not recommend it at all.

Hey, been following this thread for awhile now and finally have just about given up....
I have 4 days to return these glasses or I'm SOL... so I really am praying for a miracle.
I own a Samsung HL67A750 which I read mentioned here. Here is my problem and I hope others might know exactly what is happening.
I own an HP p6214y with 8gigs ddr2, and I upgraded the GC to a 9800GT with 1gig ddr3. I have it connected single monitor out to the samsung through the 3rd hdmi port which is used for the PC (dvi) and I used the supplied dvi to hdmi cable that came with the 3d vision (I have my own cable, but just letting you know I'm not using something inferior bandwidth-wise). My tv allows me to set it to 3d mode (mode1 or 2). I have the dvi/hdml port setup as PC. I have my tv options set to color wide and wide PC and of course the 3d vision setup won't recognize it... now heres my real question:
I've used the hacked INF files (NoLimit)... I used phoenix and cracked my own edid to make my own INF file that tells windows to force 120hz... I've fresh installed 1.15, 1.17, 1.19... different combos... clean sweeped....EVERYTHING I can think of except no access to a CRT so I haven't tried the workaround solution. I constantly check my reported refresh rate using the tvs info button and it will always say 60hz... never 120. I know the tv is constantly doing 120 and that what shows on screen is only the source... so I'm extremely confused at how to get this TV to accept 120hz... or how to get my 9800gt to output 120hz. If I do a custom resolution and put 120hz...it flickers really fast once and says it worked and gives me 15 seconds to accept the change, but nothing really happened (to my perception) and infact it will say 1920X1080 60hz Progressive right after on the actual Nvidia control properties.
Do you samsung owners (or anyone with insight) actually ever get to see 120hz being offered in the resolutions menu or even actually get the samsung to show that it is in fact receiving a 120hz signal? I get this feeling that I'm not truly getting 120hz output from my 9800gt and I have no idea why I'm not. I've used the hacked INF files (NoLimit)... I used phoenix and cracked my own edid to make my own INF file that tells windows to force 120hz... I've fresh installed 1.15, 1.17, 1.19... different combos... clean sweeped....EVERYTHING I can think of except no access to a CRT so I haven't tried the workaround solution. I constantly check my reported refresh rate using the tvs info button and it will always say 60hz... never 120. I know the tv is constantly doing 120 and that what shows on screen is only the source... so I'm extremely confused at how to get this TV to accept 120hz... or how to get my 9800gt to output 120hz. If I do a custom resolution and put 120hz...it flickers really fast once and says it worked and gives me 15 seconds to accept the change, but nothing really happened (to my perception) and infact it will say 1920X1080 60hz Progressive right after on the actual Nvidia control properties.
Do you samsung owners (or anyone with insight) actually ever get to see 120hz being offered in the resolutions menu or even actually get the samsung to show that it is in fact receiving a 120hz signal? 60Hz is the correct freq. for the Samsung DLP shown in the Nvidia Control Panel.
Do you have access to another LCD monitor? If so you can use the workaround outlined in one of the post above by BLwhale. (You don't need to have a CRT to use the workaround.)
Note: With the LCD monitor and the Samsung both connected you can run 1.15 CD and it should detect the DLP correctly. The 1.19 CD needs the workaround as you no doubt know already.
An alternative is to get the iz3D driver which will work with the Samsung + generic LCD glasses.

I might have bought the same PC you did if its the BF Best Buy HP rig and I just bought a wired XBox 360 controller to use on my PC... microsoft has drivers for it if the controller is packaged for the 360 or it comes with a cd if you buy the one marketed for PC (both the exact same) There is a wireless version (still the same wireless controller)... the difference is it comes with an IR transmitter for the PC marketed version. I didn't buy that one after some research and realized I didn't want to buy a play and charge kit plus my remote control array probably would interfere since many reported its unstable.

I at first used my projector to do the work around, but that didn't work so I hooked up the LCD... It didn't work correctly for me exactly.... I ended up force quiting the setup wizard after it detects the VESA cable is connected, but before the test pattern shows and then manually used the dropdown box in the control panel to "generic dlp". My Nerd-on is in full effect... @ 67inch this is blowing me away... can only imagine a 3d projector setup...WOW!

Click LAUNCH TEST APPLICATION. DO NOT RUN THE STINKING WIZARD NOW OR YOU'RE SOL and have to start over with step 3A. Click LAUNCH TEST APPLICATION - while wearing your glasses that are turned on. The emitter will glow bright green and you'll see the test screen in full 3D on the Samsung DLP. Watch it for a while because it took you forever to get here and make it work. Hit ESC to exit. Play it again. This really works. When you're convinced, ESC and CLOSE.
K. If you want more 3D depth and don't want to get up and spin the wheel on the emitter, test the setting now because you NEVER want to use Set Up Stereoscopic 3D again unless something gets really screwed up. Move the slider to 50 - hit APPLY - go through the test application again. Whatever works for you. SEND THE WIZARD TO THE DUNGEON AND THROW AWAY THE KEY.
L. At this point, you can disconnect the non-stereo monitor if you want.

Thanks a lot. Although I had to trick it even further. I have a samsung hl67a750 model and I kept getting hung up at step H/I. When it would dump me back to the control panel "enabled stereoscopic 3D" would be unchecked. What I did was just continue through the setup choosing the right images to make it through (screen 1 far left image and far right, screen 2 left image). Then when it finished properly I continued the instructions and switch the sami over to primary monitor and IT WORKS!. Now to test an actual game.

I just need clarification about how my gt outputs 120hz or how my tv shows it is obtaining a 120hz signal... as once a have a positive confirmation that I am indeed outputting and receiving a 120hz signal then I can actually test out the damn drivers..ha!
Bottomline: windows res changer won't let me choose 120hz even with the hide modes button unchecked, Nvidia says I can create a custom 120hz refresh, but labels it 60hz prgoressive. I've switched out the generic PnP driver for a hacked one and tried creating my own hacked one out of the original EDID info. Nothing tells me I'm outputing 120hz...so how the hell did you guys get it done?

I own a Samsung HL67A750 which I read mentioned here. Here is my problem and I hope others might know exactly what is happening.
I own an HP p6214y with 8gigs ddr2, and I upgraded the GC to a 9800GT with 1gig ddr3. I have it connected single monitor out to the samsung through the 3rd hdmi port which is used for the PC (dvi) and I used the supplied dvi to hdmi cable that came with the 3d vision (I have my own cable, but just letting you know I'm not using something inferior bandwidth-wise). My tv allows me to set it to 3d mode (mode1 or 2). I have the dvi/hdml port setup as PC. I have my tv options set to color wide and wide PC and of course the 3d vision setup won't recognize it... now heres my real question:
I've used the hacked INF files (NoLimit)... I used phoenix and cracked my own edid to make my own INF file that tells windows to force 120hz... I've fresh installed 1.15, 1.17, 1.19... different combos... clean sweeped....EVERYTHING I can think of except no access to a CRT so I haven't tried the workaround solution. I constantly check my reported refresh rate using the tvs info button and it will always say 60hz... never 120. I know the tv is constantly doing 120 and that what shows on screen is only the source... so I'm extremely confused at how to get this TV to accept 120hz... or how to get my 9800gt to output 120hz. If I do a custom resolution and put 120hz...it flickers really fast once and says it worked and gives me 15 seconds to accept the change, but nothing really happened (to my perception) and infact it will say 1920X1080 60hz Progressive right after on the actual Nvidia control properties.
Do you samsung owners (or anyone with insight) actually ever get to see 120hz being offered in the resolutions menu or even actually get the samsung to show that it is in fact receiving a 120hz signal? I get this feeling that I'm not truly getting 120hz output from my 9800gt and I have no idea why I'm not. Obviously without 120hz I can't even really begin to bitch about the drivers not working 3d vision detection if they can't even output the basic required refresh rate. Is my TV messed up? My card? I'm at a big loss for an explanation.

Do you have access to another LCD monitor? If so you can use the workaround outlined in one of the post above by BLwhale. (You don't need to have a CRT to use the workaround.)
Note: With the LCD monitor and the Samsung both connected you can run 1.15 CD and it should detect the DLP correctly. The 1.19 CD needs the workaround as you no doubt know already.
An alternative is to get the iz3D driver which will work with the Samsung + generic LCD glasses.

I might have bought the same PC you did if its the BF Best Buy HP rig and I just bought a wired XBox 360 controller to use on my PC... microsoft has drivers for it if the controller is packaged for the 360 or it comes with a cd if you buy the one marketed for PC (both the exact same) There is a wireless version (still the same wireless controller)... the difference is it comes with an IR transmitter for the PC marketed version. I didn't buy that one after some research and realized I didn't want to buy a play and charge kit plus my remote control array probably would interfere since many reported its unstable.

E. Screen 5 - switch your Samsung DLP to 3D. On Samsung remote, hit TOOLS: 3D EFFECT: Mode 1: EXIT.

F. Screen 6 - turn on glasses. NEXT.
G. Screen 7 - the symbols test will show up on your primary (non-stereo) monitor. Choose the combined arrow and circle for both eyes. That's what you're seeing anyway. NEXT
H. Screen 8 - it says hardware test failed. Don't worry. Choose EXIT and SET UP LATER.
I. Screen 9 - message says "GeForce 3D Vision Setup Not Completed". Choose EXIT.
This takes you back to the Nvidia Control Panel.
I. Control Panel - choose DISPLAY: Set Up Multiple Displays. Right click on Samsung and set as primary display. APPLY at bottom of screen. Keep changes.
J. Control Panel - choose STEREOSCOPIC 3D: Set Up Stereoscopic 3D. The screen will show your display type as "3D Vision Discover". This message is wrong -- you're really in Generic DLP Display. Click LAUNCH TEST APPLICATION. DO NOT RUN THE STINKING WIZARD NOW OR YOU'RE SOL and have to start over with step 3A. Click LAUNCH TEST APPLICATION - while wearing your glasses that are turned on. The emitter will glow bright green and you'll see the test screen in full 3D on the Samsung DLP. Watch it for a while because it took you forever to get here and make it work. Hit ESC to exit. Play it again. This really works. When you're convinced, ESC and CLOSE.
K. If you want more 3D depth and don't want to get up and spin the wheel on the emitter, test the setting now because you NEVER want to use Set Up Stereoscopic 3D again unless something gets really screwed up. Move the slider to 50 - hit APPLY - go through the test application again. Whatever works for you. SEND THE WIZARD TO THE DUNGEON AND THROW AWAY THE KEY.
L. At this point, you can disconnect the non-stereo monitor if you want.
4. Exit the Control Panel. Run the demos. The downloads for Medusa and the Nurburgring 24 hour race do a good job of showing off the 3D capabilities. The Avatar demo has excellent 3D graphics.

Thanks a lot. Although I had to trick it even further. I have a samsung hl67a750 model and I kept getting hung up at step H/I. When it would dump me back to the control panel "enabled stereoscopic 3D" would be unchecked. What I did was just continue through the setup choosing the right images to make it through (screen 1 far left image and far right, screen 2 left image). Then when it finished properly I continued the instructions and switch the sami over to primary monitor and IT WORKS!. Now to test an actual game.
