Virtual Desktop possible 3D vision support
http://steamcommunity.com/app/382110/discussions/0/405692758726869776/ Might want to put your support in the above thread if interested. Developer of the virtual desktop is interested. Its not technically VR support but VR display support. Software is pretty robust and its possible that with implementations that you can try out multi monitor 3d vision inside VR. Though something says more then half the battle will be getting nvidias cooperation.... yea

That program has merged into something pretty amazing. I've heard SBS 3D is now possible (supposedly). Will post some encouraging remarks next time I log into Steam.

He doesn't need Nvidia's permission does he? He just needs to use their SDK and sign a NDA, I think. I don't think SView "needed" their permission, but maybe because it's free?

Well getting permission and the nda + sdk are the same thing. He certainly needs nvidias permission if this will bypass 3d vision / tv play. Even if it was "tv play" it doesn't support resolutions/hertz of VR. It needs cooperation. Nvidia "had" plans to port 3d vision to oculus. Reportedly it was working for a driver with mixed results. Who knows if it will still hold true or not. https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/2pmhmz/nvidia_34709_first_driver_with_3d_vision_support/

I never used them, but I know that there have been 3D Desktops available for years. Like this one. http://www.real-desktop.de/ Although, it didn't have a function for games. Any additional features that Virtual Desktop could offer 3D vision users, would indeed be welcomed :)

It's not like it'll be competing with any new existing 3D Vision products being introduced. All it would really be is one more reason for people to choose an Nvidia card over an AMD card (since it would obviously be exclusive to Nvidia owners). Since VR topics are being moved, I'd like to think mods are lurking. Please, guys, if any one at Nvidia is reading this, that guy has made a fantastic product and you'd be doing all Nvidia owners a huge benefit by cooperating with him on this.

Ah ha! I just popped in to make sure you folks knew about this topic. I should have know Eqzitara would have already sniffed it out. I think it is a selling point for NVIDIA, too, not just a "nice thing to do." If this software works with 3D Vision then anyone with this software and a VR headset gets 3D Vision for free - IF they have an NVIDIA card. If this app gets popular, that will be a nice bullet point to have.

BTW, this doesn't support Windows 7 Just an FYI for those considering buying it when it releases tomorrow and thinking it might eventually get 3D vision support. Of course, it's not a problem if you're on W10 :)

Yeah. If I remember correctly, he had a lot of issues with Windows 7. I used in on the DK2 with Win 7, but supposedly it ran much better on Windows 8 even then. He went into great detail why Windows 8+ was needed for best results.

I cant post in steam forums cause my account is limited but if someone wants to post my youtube account in that thread it may help since I got like a 100 3d visions in there. Might help people to keep asking dev or show developer that 3d vision has a lot of games if he doesnt already know. https://www.youtube.com/user/3DGAMINGMOVIES/videos

Hmm, good point. The program has just released, though, so I would expect him to be in "OMG fix the bugs!" mode until the dust settles. Then he can get back to new feature requests.
