Let developers know the appreciation for 3D
Hi,

Every time I play a game in 3D I make sure to drop a message on the forum of that particular game to let them know how much I enjoy that game in 3D.
Now, If everybody would do that, maybe it will help as an encourament for developers to keep supporting 3D!

(and you can do the same if they don't support 3D, let them know you would buy the game if it had good 3D support).

Maybe it will help a little!

yeah I've been actively telling non-3D supporters to get their act together and that they can count me out on their next projects unless they get with the program. I guess I could also give props to those who took the care to modernize their programming... it would take me a lot less time unfortunately /wallbash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wallbash:' />

I agree with spreading the word being very necessary to get more people involved in 3D. I almost didn't go the 3D route when my Dell 3007wfp broke. That was back when i though 3DTV's did full 1080p! Now i'm thankful i did, even at 720p. I think its important to educate too, as so many people are under the impression that 3D game quality = 3D movie = 3D conversion, when in reality, Nvidia and Tridef 3D = window to holodeck and 3D movies seem to = a theater stage most of the time, not to mention are severely dimmed and are blurry during motion. I find explaining what it looks like seems to be very helpful.

(Related story: This was really hammered home the other day when i went to a store to test out the Sony HX850 for new HDMI chips. I've been to stores looking at 3DTVs over and over and over. I've spend hours looking at TVs in a single day. So it was a huge surprise when I hooked up my computer to a 55" HX929 and started up a Metro 2033 save game and saw how much difference there was. It was almost surreal as I was so used to this viewing scenario, but not while having what looked like another room behind the TV.)

Hmm, interesting indeed. At what viewing distance are you when you use the TV? (with my 27" monitor I find that 1.2 meters offers much more depth than sitting closer, so a 55" would be AWESOME!)

I use a 46" at the back edge of my desk at home, just under a meter away. I've also noticed viewing from further away increases the perceived depth. I have a 27" on the way to try out and had planned to view it closely to increase the field of view, but I guess that may not be an option.

I think I'll start dropping comments on game forums more, since I got my 3d vision 2 kit a month ago 3d is constantly blowing me away in different games. The more good or constructive feedback the devs get about this stuff, the better.

I dropped a line to the developers of the DCS flight sim and they were really supportive. They showed me a workaround to get 720p working with 3DTV Play.

It really helps to get in touch with the devs and let them know that 3D is where it's at.
