The Stereo 82.12 Beta Is Out! NVIDIA IS STILL WITH US!!!
  3 / 5
I hope a solution for IL-2 series and Pacific Fighters more than for quake games... I can´t do a good landing if I can´t see the airfield :P... and PF clouds are a beauty thing to loose.

Would be good to make possible to remap all Stereo driver keys to be able to use them with a joystick mapped buttons.

And as a Z800 owner, it would be great to make an option to callibrate RGB channels using Nvidia drivers (if it can be done), to compensate the "yelllow" tendence of the OLED panels (we can only modify brightness with this hardware).

I don't understand why they can't just make the Beta's available like they do with their forceware and other drivers:

http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_download...betadriver.html

Makes me wonder, in the long haul that has been the wait since the last release, how many new beta stereo drivers have been released but didn't get posted.

The number of tricks we use to get stereo working in games would clearly set labels for the stereo community as "advanced" users - much more so than any nForce or forceware user, so why arn't the betas being released? Do they think that we are stupid and can't handle a beta?

In my opinion, even the best non-beta stereo drivers in history were all "betas" in that most games never worked without tweaking, and some with advanced tweaking - if at all.

I don't think nVidia makes a point to not release the stereo driver betas specifically. I think that within the company the driver is so obscure that noone tells anyone about it, noone knows about it, and no web admin asks for it. Where is the guy who decides if the stereo beta driver should be made available? He/she probably doesn't know anything about stereo and just declines it thinkingthat its the "safest" route for the end user - if this person even exists.

For reference, on my system, if a program that i'm using has a beta, im running it already.

I really hope someone reads this and asks for some changes to be made to the stereo driver conveyor belt. **hint hint ronin**

This is right. All Stereo drivers since today are really no more than beta drivers. Nvidia is doing a good work in my opinion, but seem to be only a few people working in this driver proyect (or only one).

It would be good to see any of them writting in this forum sometimes to change impresions and notify about the working process... this is the oficial Nvidia forum, and usually we write but we have only response from ourselves.

I´m happy to know that somebody is working in this, but some more information would be better, and it is not very difficult to do.

There's no need to be hard on NVIDIA.

I know I have the benefit of the beta driver, but I would have been equally happy if they just sent me a confirmation that they are still supporting the technology.

As I see it, posting on forums by a company becomes a public responsibility and liability - more than that, it's done in writing.

I suspect they have certain rules about what they can and can't do - and that's normal.

What if a beta driver caused an instability that wrecked the data on a business machine? Who cares what disclaimers are written. I guarantee one out of ten users is going to call in and complain. At $15 a call to a call centre X 10% of problemed users = expensive PR.

As the beta goes to 82.01, I'm pretty confident a working driver will be out with their next official WHQL driver release. Let's be patient.

"The patience is the best virtue"... but I'm losing it!!!

Just kidding :D

We all know that Virtual Reality 3D Stereo is one (or the best) things for gaming, movies, etc. and is worth all the things that we do to make it work.

I believe that NVidia knows this also and they will not leave us, just have to wait a little more (I hope not other 6 months).

PS. I'm not work with NVidia, it is just my thought.

I have to agree with RAGEdemon, I don't think there would be any liability issues for NVIDIA and I don't think it is an unreasonable request to have stereo betas out for everybody.

i agree with that too. otherwise why do they release forceware betas?

having said that, theres beta and then theres beta, and then theres BETA!

stereo drivers are a lot more beta-esque than the forceware beta drivers!

having said all that, stereo 3d players are big boys and we can take the pain!

so give us the beta's! please!

I have to agree here that getting the beta would be great no only for us, but also for nvidia, because this way we would be able to test games and send feedback telling nvidia what they have to fix.
It may be unpleasent for nvidia being told what to do, but on the other hand they are not the ones, who are going to play the games, are they ;) !
After all why do game developers run beta tests?
To find the bugs, of course and that's exactly what we want to do.
We keep going with those old unoptimised drivers, while everyone else (non stereo gamers) is enjoying the benefits of having better performance and compatibility.
I say we take things into our own hands - VIVA LA REVOLUTUON :D ;)
But no, seriously it would be best if we could do a beta test....pls Nvidia.

Yes I agree.

Give us betas!
Waiting half a year for new drivers is really awful and full of problems with newers games and cards.

lol, I just dusted off me edimension glasses yesterday and reverted back to 78.01 drivers et al. Good to hear Nvidia have been quietly developing new drivers look forward to the final release.
(Betas not for me) :)

First a BIG thank you to NVIDIA for continuing with stereo3d.

But please think about the resources the stereo3d community could offer. There are rigs of every conceivable configuration out there and we are willing to help develop stereo3d drivers. I continue to upgrade my system (including high end NVIDIA GPU) and then I have to use old drivers for stereo3d (not getting full value for my investment) or play games in dull, regular 3D none-stereo. Please NVIDIA give our request to opening up the availability of BETA stereo3d driver some serious consideration.

There are people waiting drivers only for one or two games because actual drivers are not good enough for them... and a beta driver can be the solution (today and tomorrow).

Nobody is going to be disapointed if the result isn´t good enough of if there are some bugs, we all understand what is a beta... but can be a solution in some circunstances.
