masterotaku - thanks for the update!
This latest update seems to have a little more performance impact. Using same settings, my frame rate seems to be at least 5 fps average lower, with a little more instability (crashing - probably my GPU overclocking). The prior version is faster and a little more stable, but it has the clipping artifacts...
By the way, with the prior fix, I am getting 25-30 fps average in the game using 3840x2160 resolution and max settings (including high LOD) with 2080 Ti and i9-9900X (10 cores overclocked @ 4.5 GHz).

Is that lower fps average because of CPU or GPU? It may be caused by the way I fixed clipping (I disabled it altogether). I didn't notice a difference in GPU usage, I think.
I can do quick tests tomorrow comparing it.
I played a few hours with the new fix and didn't get crashes.

whyme466, you were right about performance. The clipping fix has a 5-20% performance penalty for the GPU. Not a super big problem (I've seen much worse in other games, where it's the CPU what gets murdered, or a >50% GPU performance drop), but enough to make the clipping fix optional for now, until I find a proper way to fix it. I made it a hotkey and I'll upload an update today.
By the way, street lights dark "clipping" will be fixed in the update :). I found a way to fix that part in a different pixel shader. And without a performance drop.

Thanks for the feedback and your pending new update. I experimented a little more with the new and old fix and, in one area, my GPU took a 50% performance hit (below 14 fps) with the latest update...
By the way, I am also using your suggested HDR mod (see https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1062314/3d-vision/shadow-of-the-tomb-raider/post/5882886/#5882886) with FF XV, for better color range with no apparent performance penalty.

Updated fix: https://s3.amazonaws.com/masterotaku/FFXV/FFXV_3D_Vision_fix.7z
New hotkey:
- F6: it toggles the compute shader clipping fix, at the cost of GPU usage. Not used by default.
Use that when you're uncomfortable with clipping. If you care more about GPU performance, don't use it.
I'll be taking a break for a few days at least. RE2 is absorbing my time :p.
Hey,
Here's something I noticed for me. I know the framepacer is bad. But it is really really bad in 3D Vision. (Atleast the 60 FPS One)
This game actually doesn't have a weird CPU bug like I thought. With my 2080ti I wasn never getting 100% GPUusage, while my CPU usage dropped. And never got 60 FPS. So I figured this was the case. However the 60 FPS framepacer is abysmal (Like the FFXIII Series ones).
IMO, I've fiddled with performance a hole lot.
1) Turn to 120 FPS in-game with vsync off, then nvidia control panel to set with Adaptive sync.
2) Model LOD has Has a humongous Hit. ON CPU, and GPU.
3) Geomapping enhances the look a whole lot. Big Hit on GPU.
4) I set most things to average lighting, and shadows. As High Framerate is worth it.

1) What about using RTSS to limit the fps?
2) Yes. It's the most CPU demanding setting, and even 30fps on High isn't possible at all times on my 7700K. I use Low or Normal.
3) That's tessellation, I guess. Nice foe the ground.
4) I wish I had a 2080Ti (an eBay seller cancelling my order broke my plan of playing this game with it). What fps do you get and at what resolution? I think 60fps is impossible for now because of CPU performance.
I'm going to improve the fix at another time (soon-ish) with things I learned recently. I also want to see if I can fix clipping in a more normal way.

Still unreleased, but this is what I did today after a few hours of work:
- Realistic specular lighting.
- Fixed clipping in pixel shaders, the proper and performance friendly way.
- 3Dmigoto updated to 1.3.16. I had to set "patch_assembly_cb_offsets = 0" to make the existing regexes work.
Remaining:
- Compute shaders clipping, which still needs the hotkey that increases GPU usage.
- A screen space reflections fix that works with camera tilting and vertical surfaces.

@masterotaku
Just wanted to add my appreciation for your continued effort with this fix. I'm quite content with using DJ-RK's version in the meantime, so there's no further expectation from me other than your fix will be done, whenever it's done!

Mmmm. You could already be using my last version.
But anyway, I'll upload the most recent state of the fix today. I was stuck with the clipping stuff, but there is already a bunch of improvements (clipping included, for some pixel shaders).

Give me one more day. I don't know since when, but with my fix, Nvidia Turf Effects (fancy grass) now works. However, when it's very close to the character, it starts to "desync" (physical deformation different per eye?). I'll have to check it for a bit.
It's a very expensive CPU effect in 3D anyway. Even more than LOD, I think.

Since I can't get DJ-RK's highly creditable attempt at a fix for FFXV to actually uninstall, I'd much prefer to wait until your own absolutely final version becomes available, and then see if copying your fix directly over his will be a viable option. If that doesn't work, I'll simply have to reinstall the game itself, which as you'll appreciate isn't exactly small. Added to which, I've not really got that far into the game to be honest, so I'd rather wait until there's a final version that you believe that you're completely happy with, and then I'll be more than happy to promptly send you a well earned donation.
Please don't rush on my account, but then again I do believe that there's a certain co-founder of Helixmod that has more than a passing interest in this fix, so perhaps it's best to not keep him waiting. ;)
