LOTRO Fix

float4 stereo = StereoParams.Load(0); float depth = stereo.x; float convergence = stereo.y; o0.x += depth * convergence; Well I went back to this code and when I change convergance the clouds did not seem to separate which seems fixed to me.. I still am not sure what the other user is seeing.. It might have been a cloud area that I had not yet fixed.. I think this for the most part works fine.. I will upload a new version and rest for tonight..

OK Guys, I think I figured out the other users Problem.. I sent him an email explaining what to do to set the Convergance as he was using 1st person view ingame.. I also told him about the 3D Seperation hack we all use and sent him the file so he can try it if he wants.. Right now as it stands I do believe this fix is Good to go and there may be a few little problems like the mouse cursor I made not ligning up perfectly with the menus we can open. The character in the Outfitting screen is way off to but I guess I can just eliminate that but you would not be able to see your character in the character screen.. I may have 1 or 2 sets of clouds still may need to be found will have to play for a while to see If I found them all initially. But the code I am currently using fixed it right up and they look Great and the separation does not change when setting the convergence now.. Well I am ready to try it out too and Hopefully I can get my friend back on to help me quest and such.. Thank you guys and Enjoy the fix..

Well after having gotten up real early this morning I was hacking a bit and found a way to open the .DAT files in LOTRO.. Well I found tons of Skin files and jpg's but all in all there had to be near a million files to look through.. I thumbed through some of them but did not find the elusive mouse Cursor Icon. I do believe it is there somewhere but I don't have the patience to hunt for it.. just too many files to go through but I bet I did a Quarter of them.. I just wanted to find it but it is very elusive indeed..

Moving on the guy who is using my fix has some weird issue. the sides of his monitor turn White on the left and right edges, does anyone know what would cause this?? Here is a screenshot if it:

Sorry I meant to throw these ideas out the other day and got side-tracked... the Shader is breaking at a different Convergence setting than yours? SLI/Non-SLI bug? Frustum setting(Ctrl+F11)/not using Maximum Pre-rendered Frames = 1 in the Control Panel?

Hey Thnx for that TsaebehT, I will see if he is running SLI.. he is using the Frustrum setting so I don't think it is that.. Yes that screenshot you see above is the same setting I had on mine and mine does not show the white bands on either side.. Not sure what using the maximum pre rendered frames would have to do with the white banding but who knows.. I will ask him..

Using Max Pre-rendered Frames eliminates the need for changing/adjusting Frustum... they're kind of like the same thing. The only other thing I can think of is maybe he's using a different series card... Fermi, Kepler, Maxwell, Pascal?

OK We solved the issue with the users Problem he had Post Processing ON and it should have been OFF. that was causing all the weird effects and white bars on the sides.. On a Side not how would one go about fixing Post Processing effects?? IS it usually hard to do or relatively medium difficulty in fixing that?
On a Side not how would one go about fixing Post Processing effects?? IS it usually hard to do or relatively medium difficulty in fixing that?
there's no easy answer for that or a fix all solution. The post processing effects vary from game engine to game engine and also vary from game to game using the same engine. It depends on one; what was coded into the engine...and two; what did the developer implemented in that particular game that was available in that engine to use. Check out the Unreal Engine 4 docs for a sampling of what they offer, to get somewhat of an understanding https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Engine/Rendering/PostProcessEffects/ Anyhow, to leave post processing on in LOTRO, you had to individually fix or disable each effect on an individual basis.

Well I seen most fixes just leave it disabled so it is probally a bear to fix.. I did enable it and besides it adding separation, the triple image of character while in water and the white bands on the edge of the monitor it doesn't look that bad when it is on.. Really besides adding the cool water looking effect PP is really not needed.. The water does look really god with PP ON but without it looks terrible.. Well maybe look into that later.. Thank you for the links.. ;)

@ TsaebehT Can you be more specific about Max Pre-rendered Frames and Cycle Frustrum Adjustment ? Afaik they are two separate things. Max Pre-rendered Frames allows you to adjust how many frames are prepared by the CPU before being rendered by the GPU and Frustrum Adjustment cycles through 3 different 3D display modes kinda like aspect ratio. I don't see any connection between these two settings.

Frustrum will typically stretch and distort the image. In some games, setting pre-rendered to 1, will have the same affect without stretching or distorting the image. you are right, they are not connected and it's not the behavior that you would expect, but for whatever reason, it does sometimes work.
