GeForce FX 5200 and glasses Elsa 3D Revelator nVidia stereo driver doesn'twork
Hi,
i have a nVidia GeForce FX 5200 and Win XP.
Now i have a 3D stereo glasses ELSA (http://www.stereo3d.com/revelator.htm).
It seems this doesn't work with my graphic card.

I installed the last driver (84.21_forceware_winxp2k_english_whql.exe). Anyway it has no Stereo 3D option, so i installed also nVidia stereo driver (78.01_3Dstereo.exe), but the result was the one i already described u before.
I tried also installing your driver 78.01_winxp2k_international_whql.exe , but it continues not working.

To test it, i simply try to execute the nVidia test included in 78.01_3Dstereo.exe:
the test image is properly displayed (i.e.: i see the two overlapping images flicker as expected); the problem is that no power and no signal are sent to the glasses.

(Glasses that have a 3 pin DIN VESA connector connected directly to the VESA connector (pins 9,10,12 http://www.nord-com.net/accot.schulz/index_frames.html ; i verified that no power and no signal are generated by the card)

I also wrote to nVidia support, but they give me meaningless answers ("please contact the application developer" ("application developer" is just nVidia!))

Any experience or suggestions?

Thanks,
Rafscipio.

Well that definately won't work.

If you are using ther 84.21 video driver, you will need the 82.12 stereo driver.

You can get it in the downloads section of http://www.guru3d.com.

Or, if you want to use the 78.01 stereo driver, you will need the 78.01 forceware as well.

It used to be that the forceware and stereo versions number had to match exactly. I think NVIDIA has been bending the rules a bit lately on that.

Get 82.12 stereo, and things should work.

Thanks for your answer,

anyway i already tried to install 78.01_winxp2k_international_whql.exe (video) with the 78.01_3Dstereo.exe (stereo), but the result was that it doesn't work.

I'll try with 84.21 (but unluckily not before 3 weeks :( )

I let u know about the result.

(meanwhile any other comments is welcome :)

Thanks,

Hi All (and Chopper),

It doesn't work.

I installed the 82.12 card driver (82.12_forceware_winxp_international.exe) and the stereo diver (82.12-Beta-Stereo-[Guru3D.com].exe) as described in http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1341.

More in detail, i:
1) unistalled the existing card drv & restart
2) installed the 82.12 card drv & restart
3) installed the 82.12 stereo drv & restart

The result is the same i described in my previous message: the nVidia test program display the flickering images as expected (and also in the games the images are displayed in stereographic mode), but the problem is that the glasses are not working: i verified that no power and no signal are generated by the card.

I also tried with another glasses of the same model (just to be sure that the glasses were not broken, even if the problem seems to be with the card), and the result was the same.

Any idea? or the conclusion is that nVidia GeForce FX 5200 doesn't work at all with this glasses?
Do u know if there is someone who used the same card with the same glasses?

( as probably my problem will never be solved, can u please suggest me a cheap video card (not worse than GeForce 5200) that works with my glasses? )

Thank you very much,
Rafscipio

is there an option to attach the 3pin connector to your FX5200 ?

if there's none, you should have read this on th epage you link yourself (http://www.stereo3d.com/revelator.htm)

Thanks for your answer,

the glasses are connected to the card through a VGA-pass-through cable (check the same link at section "The Controller": http://www.stereo3d.com/revelator.htm).
It isn't much more than a dumb cable with a 2 VGA connector (male/female to card and to monitor), plus a 3 pin connector to the glasses.

About compatibility, i know about many peoples who are using such glasses with nVidia cards (that web page is a bit old ("last update: Dec. 30, 1999")), and they work, but unluckily i don't know nobody who is using my card model.

If there is someone is using such glasses in this forum, even with another nVidia card, i should appreciate to know something about his experience.

Thanks,
Rafscipio.

hmm ... maybe you'd need this activator ?

http://solo11.abac.com/edimensional/downloads/E-D.exe

Check it out, maybe it triggers your glasses ...

Cheers,
Maggi

i tried the 'activator' and other similar programs ( all listed here: http://www.stereo3d.com/files.htm ), but with no result.

I also tried to remove the pins 12 and 14 from the VGA connector as explained in http://www.stereo3d.com/faq.htm (question: "My glasses are flickering irregularly when using the nVidia driver" ) and here as well http://www.nord-com.net/accot.schulz/index_frames.html, but again no result.

I surrender.

Thanks for the support.

hmm - ELSA Revelator should work - i can use it from ti4400 up to 6800gt...

Have you set the glasses-typ (control-panel) to 'DDC VGA glasses (IO Display)'?

I've done everything i could possibly think of to get my elsa 3d rev glasses to work with my gforce 6200 card and my mx4000 couldnt get anything to get them working right.. im so close but so far away :( i've tried the 82.12 driver and stereo driver combo... i've tried the tweaked versions and the activator switch and i've turned on v sync mode everytime and messed with settings to try to get it working. i have direct x9.0c and everything set up the way it should be ... but still something is missing and i dont know what... Bottom line is... i guess after weeks of trying to get them to work.. i walk away Dissapointed as usual... O well thas life.. im prolly like the only 1 not able to use these damn glasses. GRRRRrrrrrr
