Will this Samsung 3D TV play 3D games from my computer?
2 / 2
For what it's worth, I use this same TV model (minus the A1) with 3DTV Play and have been very happy with it. Prior to getting this TV, I played on a 1600x900 monitor and, IMO, there is no significant visual quality difference between 1600x900 res on a monitor and 720p on this TV viewed from 5+ feet away (if your face is two feet from the screen, yes, the image will look like crap). (The GPU overhead you save from running 720p lets you really crank up the AA).
One issue to consider, however, which roller alluded to, is that when you activate 3D vision, the TV will switch from "PC mode" to "TV mode," which reduces the image quality somewhat in games. In my experience, this is not a big deal - BF3, Crysis 2, etc. still look great - UNLESS you are playing games with small text, which degenerates into a blurry mess. Trying to quickly look at unit stats in a Total War game or read those tomes of tiny, light blue text on a dark blue background in Mass Effect (doesn't anyone at Bioware understand contrast?) will make you want to tear your eyes out.
All-in-all though, I think the TV was a great deal for the money, and I've had a lot of fun with it.
Note: Gears of War 3 and Halo Anniversary for the 360 also look good in 3D on this TV - nowhere near as good as BF3 or Crysis 2 on the PC though.
