Currently I am trying to figure out how to produce a stereospcopic image from a regular 3D application. Where I work, we are setting up a stereoscopic demo with two projectors. For this, I have a (mighty powerful dual CPU dual-core Opteron) HP workstation with a QuadroFX 4600 GPU installed.
I installed grapics drivers version 162.50 and after a reboot the stereo drivers with the same version numbers (downloaded from guru3d.com). After I found out about the registry hack needed to display the classic user interface in the Advanced Display Properties dialog ([HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies] "ContextUIPolicy"=dword:00000001 ), I got things working, finally.
At least, in one application which is, ironically, an ATI technology demo ... Every other app I have tried up to now (AquaMark3, 3DMark2006, 3DMark2003 and the ClearSailing nVidia Technology Demo), makes my computer crash entirely. (Lockup, then 16-color display saying the nvidia drivers are not responding anymore, then total lockup)
I am continuing my search for visually appealing 3D demo's or apps that do work with this driver combination, but I feel this is not the way it should be.
Are there any known issues about this specific driver release? And even better would be if anyone knew a solution for this ...
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Tested some more apps: 3DMark2001 and Vulpine GLMark don't work either ...
