Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut - Update ! runs perfect in 3D !!
2 / 2
Turns out it was due to LAV Filter.
At the end of the first cut scene it loads a soundtrack to coincide with the menu page, it seems that LAV Filter conflicts with the Audio and causes the crash.

GL with the play through and update us if you run into any problems.

lol, I was lucky those other guys figured it out because I never would have. I never looked into tweaking/configuring it.
I installed MPC the other month to see if it would have better playback for a concert/movie file I ripped from a VHS tape of Delicate Sound of Thunder a few years back. I'm going to re-rip it, if the tape is still good using better hardware. It's just too bad it never officially made it to DVD, it's one helluva a show.

I'm glad you fixed it - are you satisfied with the 3D ?
Finally I could post some screenshots - notice the third Picture with the floating gun icon, even that is correct rendered and not in screendepht as "usual" !

And lots of ram and HD's ;)
lol, got as far as the menu screen, no intention of going farther at this time :)
I'll wait and see if others have issues before I give it a try.
Make sure that you save often.<------make back up copies of saves.
It would probably be a good thing to read through the Steam and GoG forums, so you know what to expect. Hopefully, you'll have no issues, but I recall something about a pressure plate/switch and a workaround. Also, there are lots of game stopping crashes in certain chapters.

I must admit that the game has been put on hold for a while now, you know how it is with a huge backlog and all sorts of side projects :)
But I think I'm nearly halfway through, and I haven't got a single crash yet !
I remembered about this game today, so I have installed it a few minutes before going to bed.
I couldn't get the Durante fix to work at the same time as the helixmod dll. I'll try tomorrow with gedosato, even if just for the resolution increase (I don't know if SSAO can be used in gedosato too for this game).

Were you able to complete a play through?
Any crashes?
