How do I add additional depth to the Acer 5360?
  1 / 3
I remember reading something about hacking the registry and changing some values to get better depth on the 5360. I can't remember where I read it. The one negative I have is that the 5360 doesn't have as much depth as my Acer 24", but I can confirm what everyone has said. The 5360 has 0 ghosting. Im projecting a 110" screen so if there is some sort of formula could someone tell me what value I need to add to the registry to get better depth. Thanks guys.

]Id like to know this too I followed these steps.

For those who want to increase the maximum depth, as it is WAY too low by default on this pj, here's how to modify the registry AND KEEP it this way !

1st step: change the maximum separation in the registry
http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=153012

http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtop...amp;hl=registry

--- Change limit of maximum Separation:
"MonitorSize"=dword:00000026 --- corresponds to monitor-size in "Stereo Setup & Test" section of nvidia's control panel. Convert this value to decimal and divide by 2 to get inches of monitor setting (38/2=19" for me here). Setting this entry to $a (decimal 10) means you're telling the driver you have a 5-inch screen. Why would you do that? It increases the maximum separation available to you in case you need it. I need it to play ONI in 3d because it's an OpenGL game and for some reason maximum separation shows very small effect. Lying to the driver and telling it I have a 5-inch screen tricks it into making maximum separation half of the screen's diameter since you're eyes are about 2.5 inches apart.

It can be found under HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Nvidia Corporation\Global\Stereo3D with regedit (minus the wow6432node for 32bit setups i believe)

2nd step: prevent nvidia from reverting the registry back to its default setting
http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtop...istry&st=20

The problem is that the newer drivers for some reason always fall back to the default setting when you fire up the test application (or any other stereo app).
To prevent this, we just need to alter some permissions in the registry:
If you go the branch containing the settings (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D) then right click, navigate to "permissions"/"advanced" select "System" then "edit" and choose "deny" to "set value" - hit OK and you're good to go and aplly all of the other color schemes mentioned above.

Now call me stupid but I didnt know what to set it as I tried several settings and didnt notice any difference at all, I have about a 100 inch screen with the acer pj, if you figure it out let me know cheers.

Crap! Has anyone figured out another way to change the registry? I don't wanna go to old drivers. Why won't Nvidia let US control the damn depth anyway? Whats the issue? Is setting the depth too high give you some kind of brain damage or something. /stupid.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':stupid:' />

Yeah I would love to add more depth to my Viewsonic Projector.. 100% is probably like 50% on an LCD..

I don't get why it won't work for Bart, as it is still working here. Using 196.75, and before that the 1.20 CD. (Yes I know the 196.75 is faulty but everything is fine here)

Im wanting to know this too I cant work it out it says it here but Im having trouble understanding what number to set mine as, or maybe it just doesnt work anymore for me because of the newer drivers like Bartdesign said.

I also bought the Acer h5360 and max. separation is really too low .
We should tell the developer about it :

nvidia driver feedback:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/driverqualityassurance.html

Maybe it helps ,when everyone who has this problem gives feedback.

For me this registry editing stuff didnt work.

Off topic question: I'm using nvidia drivers CD 1.19 because I was trying the newest drivers but these don´t recognize H5360. Which ones are you using? I don´t want start to install every new drivers if they are not working.
Thanks /photo.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':photo:' />

I have this projector and the depth for me is outstanding.

Ive been playing resident evil 5 and have nvidia panel set to max depth and the dongle to max depth and everything pops out and the depth looks loke i am actually there.

If you can get more out of it I may give it a try but just looking at it as is the popout and depth was better than what avatar on imax was. :)
