Hope I can get 120 FPS solid with my setup . Since my last investment only a few games shown potential in SLI 'GTX680's.

thumbs up for Airion here, the thread seems to be keeping momentem with new people signing up to the bioshock forums! developers are there to make money, the more people that raise the desire to have 3D, the more they will be inclined to include it, either with the game launch, or potentially afterwards.
please every passive reader, get active!

The forummods have changed the title:

What do you guys think? My reaction is lumping Oculus Rift into the 3D Vision support thread (by changing the title at this stage) dilutes our efforts to bring 3D Vision to the attention of the developers. The Oculus Rift was a tangent until this particular mod decided the two are the same in his mind. Maybe I'm over reacting. At least we can discuss it freely here. Here's what I posted, in case it gets removed:

But I'll adjust the title to reflect both topics. And really, all of this should have been handled via PM since it's technically off-topic, and nobody will be interested in this moderation talk after a little while.
I felt this was pretty professional:

Do not talk about Moderation issues in the public forum, that is against forum rules. If you want to discuss this further please contact a Mod or Admin (2K David, Ga1Friday, drcane, or JohnImah) via PM.
Your post doesn't seem to reflect this at all, but I'll take the advice to pursue it in PMs as well.
That aside, I strongly feel you're diluting/sabotaging this thread by throwing in Oculus Rift support retroactively into the title. Yes, they share 3D, but they're different technically. Different products, different burdens on the developers to support them. I hope the Oculus Rift can get support too, but it's a bigger hurdle than Nvidia 3D Vision, which is what the vast majority of posters here have been requesting support for. No one even has an Oculus Rift! 3D Vision is here now, and we want support for 3D Vision.
Not sure it's deliberate sabotage of the thread to put Rift in the title, but it's certainly wrong.
I just added a comment there to that effect, which is sent to the moderators, so who knows if it will be allowed.
But, my premise is that 3D Vision is not a 'niche'.

Says that half a million 3D Vision version 1 kits were sold. And you look at the TVs supported via 3D TV Play, and I think you can conservatively guess that there are at least 1 Million users of 3D Vision alone. (that doesn't include AMD or Tridef).
I just don't think anyone can say with a straight face that 1 Million users is 'niche.'

Hey Airion, to be honest I think normally it's pretty dumb to club together OR with nvidia 3D, but, with ANY real 3D support in the game it will effect nvidia 3D positively I'm sure. I personally think you shouldn't get your teeth stuck into it on the forum, as it takes away from the positive message of pro 3D. Trying to keep the topic on why 3D should be included into Bioshock is mor likely to aid our interests.
bo3b, i completely agree. The mods keep trying to make out this is a niche, "hot rod" product... 3D.... it's really not helpful and its simply not true. PC gaming grows every year and everyone i know who games on PC games in 3D. it's a slow starter, mainly because of all the misinformation about 3D, and poor 3D in Hollywood, but it is definitely not as niche and enthusiast as they think.
3D is not quad sli gaming...
btw, a HUGE thank you to the large amount of people signing up to make your thoughts known. Please, we all know there are more passive readers out there with 3D systems. Log in and let your voice be heard! we are the growing minority, and we will only be the minority for so long.

thinking about it, airion, or rift in the title may help us more than work against us. The devs have expressed an interest in OR. If i could play tis game in VR, i would buy the OR dev kit for this alone!!!
but hey, thats just me... i want to be IN the game :-)

As a guy who has seen VR wannabe technologies coming and failing since I was a little kid (that's 20 years, to be exact), I'm very skeptical about the Rift. With that said, I agree with Airion once again. The Oculus Rift is way different and more complicated than 3D Vision, it doesn't have a release date or at least it's not really upcoming and it may not be out long enough to get all this support. Quite frankly, hearing developers say they are more than ready to support OR makes me laugh: you're not able to use a Directx bound, relatively easy technology like 3D Vision, but you're ready to jump on the OR bandwagon? Gimme a break!
Btw, we're free to discuss things here as we are there: this "fear" of 2K moderators has really gotten on my nerves. Also, they were the first to say we didn't have to be off topic and talk about BS Infinite in 3D and now they've brought a currently useless subject like OR. Moderators are supposed to moderate, not to create controversies at any cost

I've feel the same as you Ricky, I'll believe it when I see it. My first VR experience was way back in 2000 in Epson, Florida. We havn't progressed too far from there since. But VR has been crap for several reasons, many of which the OR seems to correct.
1) low FOV (40 degrees on the best I have seen) OR has 90 degrees horizontal, that's a huge increase
2) simple positional tracking (OR has 9 degree 1000hz traking... should be pretty accurate.
the only glaring issue with the OR is that the resolution is abysmal. This has been said by Palmer Luckey to be corrected in the consumer build, although I guess we'll still likely see at most 1080 screen (which is actually halved, one per eye)
So other than res, OR really does have a lot of good things going for it, its very cheap also! and has a lot of big names behind it. The fact that dev's are more willing to work on this than NVidia 3D does seem weird though. OR needs 3D (otherwise why such low res). If it works in 3D on OR, why not on NVidia as well, and DDD etc.
What you say about the mods is bang on though. I am not so used to forums, only got proactive now because I read a mods post over there and thought it was pretty strong and not entirely correct. The mods do seem to be like sheriffs in an old western film. Do as I say, not as I do!!! But... it is there forum, so I guess we have to play by their rules, to definitely keep the criticism of mods here, or PM them, or IG, but don't post it on forum as it will only likely derail the threads topic.
