Well the add-on(s) haven't been released yet. But you can play one of the other games if you purchased the season pass. ◦The Crew ◦Far Cry 4 ◦Watch Dogs ◦Assassin’s Creed Black Flag ◦Rayman Legends ◦Just Dance 2015 http://assassinscreed.ubi.com/en-US/community/liveupdates/live_updates_details.aspx?c=tcm:152-186650-16&ct=tcm:148-76770-32 I do not have this game but just figured I'd point this out as a FYI. I certainly can understand the frustration, I've played my share of games that have had issues at launch, some of which were never officially fixed. You'd think by now, they'd have enough experienced personnel to avoid these things.

Why would you want more of their games when the game you have bought wont even function!

Am I right that a fix for Unity is not very likely judging from the current situation (stability issues galore besides other problems). Currently I am looking for a PS4 game for Christmas. I use my PS4 exclusively via Remote Play in my girlfriend's appartment 5 miles away from my apartment (my apartment is 3D-gaming only! ;-) ) I hate it to buy a game for PS4 thinking it can't/won't be fixed just to notice it will be fixed 2 days after buying it for PS4. Exactly that happened with Mordor. I created the initial Mordor thread here for feedback and when everyone stated how broken Mordor was in 3D Vision I bought it for Ps4 to play it via Remote Play when being away from home. The day after buying it Mike came up with his first awesome 3D Vision screenshot for Mordor. I don't need to tell you that my Ps4 version went to Amazon for sale in the moment I saw this screenshot ;-) To me it seems Unity isn't about to be fixed very soon if ever and I would be perfectly fine with this (would get it for PS4 4 then). The only thing I would like to avoid this time is buying the game and then within a couple of days a glorious fix is in sight..... What do you think?

For me Unity is a real milestone in terms of game graphics. And 3d compatibility mode works quite well. I didn't regret buying it.

That's a shame, I was hoping you might take a look if Ubisoft eventually patch it to an acceptable state. Still, sounds like it's no great loss. And maybe it will be possible for someone to adapt your work on AC3/4 to fix it at some point.

I don't understand buying games on the PS4 I own PS4 and don't buy games it takes a longer time for the games to be discounted. Sony also dropped all 3D support. One or two games support it and they are indie titles. Buying games on the PC is a lot cheaper at release and also between Tridef, Compatibility mode and wrappers at least 3D is there. Worst case the game will like a better in 2D on pc than a PS4.

I buy games on my PS4 when I want exclusives or when I want to play with Friends. Most single player games I get on the PC.

@Mike Your comment definitely helps! Thanks alot! I cannot convince myself to play games in CM. Knowing it would be so much better in real 3DV just hampers the overall enjoyment for me! @zig11727 As I said when I am at home I play exclusively on my PC in glorious 3D. Currently I still have nearly a dozen games on my shelf that I still need to play and that work flawlessly in 3D (Witcher 2, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Bulletstorm, Dead Space 3.....just to name a few) So I could never convince myself to play a PC game in 2D only or even in CM while those 3D pearls on my shelf are still waiting for me to be played. When I am away from home in my girlfriend's apartment there is no PC/no 3D so PS4 remote Play is the next best thing there. That's the reason why I even buy PS4 game from time to time.

DHR and I looked at Unity a bit when it first came out, and it is broken at a new level I haven't seen before. There is a shader for shadows that would not Decompile properly, and it's 1000 lines long. I worked on it for about 6 hours and got it to compile, but it damages the shadows in subtle way, and I have so far not been able to pin down the flaw. Much, much harder than usual. Generally I can hand fix these shaders, but am presently stumped here. That is probably for the PCSS shadows, so it's possible that we can make progress with lesser shadows. We might want to do that anyway because it runs like a total pig. If this were the most interesting game today, it might be worth the extra effort it will require. But, given the mixed reviews and poor shipping quality, there are just too many other, more interesting, fish in the sea. With regard to your plan- you should go ahead and get it on PS4 as your 'mobile gaming', there is no way we can get anything working within the next month.

Thanks alot Bob for your evaluation! This was exactly the info that I needed. Being a 3D-fanatic myself I know I shouldn't say this because these are no good news but in my situation this clear evaluation was exactly what I hoped for!

Beeing a 3d fanatic since 15 years, I can say you try the cm 3d with unity. It's certainly much better than ps4 2d.
