Hi, I need help with the following:
For the Architects market I would to build a stereoscopic 3D station that will include the following:
1. Two polarized projectors with passive glasses.
2. One polarized white wall screen.
3. One PC with Microsoft XP.
4. One Nvidia GeForce card with two outputs.
5. The Architects 3D software can export VRML (X3D) files.
My question is how the Nvidia card will get the files and “generate†the two pictures for the two projectors?

If You have some kind of program to generate a 3D world (from a VRML) like what a game does.
Say normally the driver shows on 1 projector what the world looks like 100 frames per second.
When You activate 3D it calculates what the world looks like from 2 slightly different viewpoints 50 frames per second and display one each on each projector.
If You don't have a program like that then just take 2 slightly different screenshot of the generated world and make a 3D picture. There is a built in 3D picture slideshow in the 3D driver. This works in real life also /photo.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':photo:' />

Thank you for your reply. This is my problem, I have the VRML output but don't know how to generate the 2 out pouts for the projectors.
I was told that Nvidia can do it automatically with their new 3D board, is it right?

Yes, though this Nvidia cards have been able to do many years.
If You have the hardware (projectors) set up and installed the 3D driver then:
1. Install Cortona3D (http://www.parallelgraphics.com/products/cortona/)
2. Copy a VRML file to the harddisk
3. Open a browser
4. type: "file:///C:/my_vrml_files/house.wrl" (or similar) instead of "http://www.......com" (the VRML picture will be displayed)
5. rightclick picture and choose Fullscreen - More - and choose the resolution You have chosen in the 3D driver (from nVidia) (the VRML picture goes to fullscreen)
6. Ctrl-T to activate the 3D (with polarized 3D glasses - adjust it! and fly around the object in 3D)

Just download it, install it, hit the Hot key and the image on the projectorscreen goes from 2D to 3D basicly.

I guess that for "supported" games the driver (Nvidia or other) will build 2 pictures which are not taken from 2 different points exactly (2.5"), but (probably) mathematically calculated.
Since I provide a VRML file "someone" need to generate the 2 pictures (2.5'' apart) for the 2 projectors.
For my application, do I need 2 viewers that will generate 2 separated pictures from 2 points (2.5" distance)?

Thank you for your reply. This is my problem, I have the VRML output but don't know how to generate the 2 out pouts for the projectors.
