Unable to get 3D in WoW, Medusa 3D Demo
Just received my Samsung 2233rz monitor and NVidia 3D Vision set today and am trying to get everything up and running. The setup works fine in Left 4 Dead thus far, w/o any special setup from me.

I'm unable to get WoW or the Medusa 3D demo to work properly however. In WoW, I go into "Video" and select "Stereo" and then enable 3D Stereo in there however it never takes effect. I can't view in-game information either (CTRL+ALT+INS). Everywhere else I've tried it thus far the game works fine. On the Medusa Demo I'm making sure to run the Medusa 3D video but my glasses flicker strangely and the demo on-screen isn't displaying in 3D

I'm running two 8800GTS 512 cards in SLI (however SLI is disabled in WoW due to lockup issues with WoW and SLI). I have the latest NVidia 3D Stereo drivers (Feb 2nd, 2009) and as I've said, other apps/games seem to work properly thus far.

Any ideas?

Figured out my issue in World of Warcraft. I run the game in windowed mode, maximized. Well after running the NVidia Stereoscopic Media player and noticing that it has to be fullscreen to work I decided to try that with WoW. Works. I understand why it's this way, but hope that they come up with a way to allowed windowed mode in WoW while Maximized to enable 3D. Non-Maximized I understand why they can't/won't.

As for the Medusa 3D Demo, however, I still cannot get that to work. I get the in-program options and all that, and can turn up and down the 3D depth via the scrollwheel however the image is NOT in 3D. I have in configuration to run in Fullscreen however while watching it, the mouse cursor can still move to my other monitors. Of course if I CLICK on one of them it minimizes the program tho.

So I'm still out of luck in the Medusa 3D demo. .hopefully someone can still help me out.

Hi There,

When you are running the Medusa demo, are you using the special 3D Version we created? http://www.nvidia.com/object/GeForce_3D_Dr..._Downloads.html

Once you have installed this optimized version, you need to first configure the settings for Medusa to be 1680x1050, and then you run the shortcut for Medusa Stereo 3D from the desktop. If you are running the other shortcut, it will not toggle 3D mode.

Hope that helps.

Same boat regarding Medusa. It sounds really slick and I'd love to see it but I get to "Loading....", screen goes black, then nothing. I noticed the message saying that it might take a minute or two to load but it never does. I then have to C-A-D to the Task Manager to get back to the Desktop where I find the message that "Medusa.exe has stopped working." (with the "Loading...." window still up). I changed the settings to 16:9 and No AA and am using the Medusa 3D Stereo shortcut. I'm also using the latest driver (182.08) on a 64-bit Vista Dell workstation. Is there a trick I'm missing??

Well I thought I would play with this till I get it to work lol. So in the BIN folder I saw args and argsStereo. So I renamed args (to save) then I copyed argsStereo and renamed that to args and NOW Medusa works in 3d fine. I made sure 16:9 Renderable Area was 1680x1050.

In the settings you have to change the display aspect ratio to "is a custom aspect ratio" and then it will work.

It's funny -- that Medusa demo was the first thing I fired up when I got my monitor & glasses set up, and boy was I aggravated when I realized "the damn 3d effect isn't any better than without the glasses!" lol

Fortunately, after fooling with it for a couple minutes I moved on to the 3d Vision Experience demo CD and had a huge "WHEW." moment when I realized I hadn't just wasted $600 after all. ;)

Still can't get the Medusa thing to work, but I've lost interest in it and moved on to games for my 3d experience at this point. :)

Still doesn't work for me.
After you set it to "is a custom aspect ratio..." what number did you type in below it for the ratio?

BTW, I had to download a new DirectX to get past the missing .dll problem. No notice from nvidia on that, and it's happening to a lot of people. I think it's important to make sure at least your demo works when you put out a new product.

same problem here. Getting 3D only in Left 4 dead, all other games, medusa demo, medusa 3d stereo demo, don't work. Tried drivers from CD, new drivers from site and newest beta drivers. The problem is that 3D starts, image in monitor get's "blury" and IR tower goes light green, but galsses doesn't flickers at all (when i push the power button on glasses in left4dead, one of "eyes" gets black, in other games/demos - don't).. why is that ? i'm using CRT monitor and vista 32bit, GTX260, no SLI.
