Please need help with 3dtv play 3dtv play and Samsung 50" 3D Plasma HDTV (PN50C490)
  1 / 2
Okay .. I have no idea what I am doing wrong.

I installed latest drivers ... downloaded the 3d play software.. and I still can not get this to work right with my 3d tv.

In the Nvidia control panel .. in the stereoscopic 3d settings .. it recognizes that I have 1.4 hdmi plugged in .. but everything else grayed out.
I have run the set up wizard and done the 3d test .. and this WORKS great! .. but and games that I try to run in 3d will not work.
I also notice that in the control panel that it is still suggesting that I upgrade to 3dtv play .. even through I have already activated it.

What am I missing??

Try going to C:\ProgramFiles\NvidiaCorp.\3DTV\ and run the serialize.exe and see if that fixes your problem. If it does create a shortcut and add it to your startup menu and you should be good to go.

Hey Dog, I'm the post below you at the moment but you've got further than I have.

I have a Samsung PS50C680 50inch TV plasma tv, basically I can't get it to work, I have a dual link dvi-hdmi cable going to the tv, I have the pyramid emitter connected to the pc, my tv is not being detected when I run the setup from inside control panel, there's no 3D, can you help me get any further?

What is your setup, is it like mine?

If you read my topic I've basically been told by NVIDIA customer services it does not work with any 3D TV!

I'm lost.

Thanks,
Jas.

I don't know what else to try.. The stereoscopic display type is set to hdmi 1.4 blu-ray 3d.. even after installing the 3dtv play software.
The test works perfect in 3d but I just can't seem to make the computer recognize that 3dtv play is actually installed. So no games will work 3d

Jas.. I have a mini hdmi running out of my gtx460 card to an hdmi input on the tv

Sucks, seems like alot of people are having issues with this new software. It worked fine for me with my Samsung and my old 3d Vision upgrate to 3DTV play. I hope you guys get it figured out, I wish I could shed some light on it, but seems like you guys are doing everything correctly. If I think of anything I'll post it for you.

You have to use DVI to HDMI cable don't you? Don't think it will work with a mini HDMI to HMDI cable.

I found this in the FAQ but not sure if its the same thing:

"3D Vision-Ready LCDs require dual-link DVI connectors and will not work with HDMI connectors. However, you can use HDMI connectors with 3D Vision Projectors that support HDMI input.

Note: 3D DLP HDTVs do use HDMI connectors, but 3D Vision Surround does not support using 3D DLP TVs."

I have hooked it up both ways with a DVI to HDMI .. then I tried with mini hdmi to hdmi.. both cables will work in 3d .. I can run the test and the 3d works.. what does not work is the games in 3d .. and this is because no matter what I do, I can't get the stereoscopic 3d display type to change from 1.4 3d blu-day to the required 3dtv play setting
