I found it had too many problems. It might get better the deeper you get into the game but the first few scenes had way too many issues for me to play passed.

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

It 'works' but it definitely has issues, it was one of the first games I played(I really liked the game, I too previously played it on 360 and replayed it in 3D) with 3D Vision so I was a little more forgiving then I am now ... it's not one of the games I'd say rush out and buy it, but if you think you may be more forgiving of the issues now, then you might want to get it out of the way now. I'm not sure if Alan Wake's American Nightmare has more issues or not but I haven't been able to bring myself to play that one through yet, I can only hope once the DX11 wrappers get into full swing that something may trickle back to the few DX10 only games such as this one ... and if Alan Wake ever gets fixed I'll definitely play through it once again in 3D ... can't get enough of the 'atmosphere' :)

Thanks for the answer guys! To bad about the issues then and I have checked on Helix blog so no fix it seems. Well I just come to think about that game and was remembering the devs talked about 3d vision support and was thinking about getting it on Steam. But ooh well, the game is cheap anyway and it was a masterpiece I think so I will give it a go. Atleast it will probably look way better on Pc then on the X360 even in 2d :) Thanks a lot for your input.

I find Alan Wake awesome in 3D, one of my best experience. I didn't use Helix Mod. But you have to set Shadows to Medium. (and of course, enable "advanced settings" in drivers to set convergence) The only problem I encountered was inside the building, because the camera is too close. But 95% of the game is outside :D

I find the best way to get good 3d in Alan Wake is put Depth at about 30% & go with higher convergence. I remember thinking it looked fantastic.

I turned it off at the start because of the fog that wasn't rendered well for 3D, then almost quit the game halfway through, turned 3D back on, which saved the day because it was great [for some reason] all the way to the end.
You can try this! http://helixmod.wikispot.org/Alan_Wake
That fix is from the "early" days. I dont recommend it. Anything from wikispot I was too lazy to move for a reason tbh. If you install this DLL it will fix an issue that game has though ["clipping"] https://s3.amazonaws.com/HelixMods/*Mainfiles/Releasev2.zip Game was meh in 3D to me. But I gave up early.

Well thanks guys for the answer, ashamed to say I forgot about my own thread here, sorry :/ I found it pretty good in 3d, just up the convergence and shadows to medium as you said so I really like it. And I just loves the story and find inspiration from it as I myself is some kind of a writer or atleast try to be. Horror stories is what I like so heres hoping as time goes by you will be able to read something from me in the future ;)
