I just got my Alienware AW2310, just wondering what 3D vision drivers to use?
[s]
FullCD 1.17 or 1.18, or 1.19?
I have noticed that 1.18 has support for the Acer 23" / 24" LCD, should I use this one as this would be the closest to the Alienware AW2310 ?[/s]

Use FULLCD 1.18 download as it detects the Alienware AW2310 LCD.

I'm actually a first time 3D user. Just got the monitor and the 3D glasses today, currently at work with no access to a gaming machine =/
I guess i'll download all the drivers and take them home.

give us a review of the screen dude. i have one coming in on monday. when in 3d is there a ghosting effect on the top of the screen?
whats the color & brightness like?
is there a flicker when wearing the glasses?

Been playing Call of Duty MW1 and MW2 and found that while wearing the glasses there seems to be slight ghosting on the top of the screen, not really noticeable to me though. I also didn't notice any flickering unless I looked at the room lights.
Without glasses the LCD colour seems ok, but not as good as my Dell 3008WFP, and also much brighter.
With glasses on everything is much darker of course, but playable. I'm still trying to get used to 3D as aiming down iron sights seems to be much harder now lol.

damn it, so there is ghosting? have u tried adjusting the convergence?
dude i also have a 3008WFP and a U2410, are u sure the color is better? try turning up digital vibrance in nvidia control panel. I cant see the 3008WFP having better color than the aw2310.

Please please please don't say there's ghosting......DAMN IT!!!
Lets see what the imminent ACER can do. Doesn't look promising though :(
RIOT123 You'll be doing us a really big favour if you could possibly post a couple of pictures at say 50% and 75% depth.....please?

I could, concerning the 3008 has a SIPS panel compared to the TN on the 2310... That's my main grief with the 120Hz displays and their pricepoint available, and what holds me from getting one (beside the size) - if they were SIPS or VA at least...
and @TrekCZ: the 120Hz displays are all page flipping / alternate frame rendering - they will display full resolution parallax corrected frames consecutively....

I think the ghosting problem is inherit with the technology and drivers. I am willing to bet that the Acer 24" will also have this happen although it would be nice to be wrong.

Since Dell and Acer apparently use the same LG display, that's a save bet.... However, as much as I agree with the technology inherit part as far as it concerncs TN LCD panels (allways bear in mind it is not present on CRTs and very low on DLPs), I still do believe nvidia could possibly circumvent these inadequacies of the displays by opening up their drivers with timing parameters...

I'm thinking LCD just has issues with this tech. I'm going to hold off getting something beyond the Samsung for now. The samsung will make a nice 2nd/3rd monitor for the multi-S3D tech nvidia demo'd at CES later this year perhaps, with a good VeryLow Ghosting monitor as primary.
I also think the price for these is jacked up beyond where it should be, so maybe by summer the price will be better on these panels.

I have to agree with you. It looks like I'm stuck with the samsung for now. I could be wrong, but maybe there's a chance that the alienware screen could have future firmware upgrades via the onboard USB sockets to optomise the refresh?
Like you, I'm gunna hold out for summer. A vast amount of choice should be available at realistic prices....

So far, trying to get used to the 3d effects lol, i guess start with low depth?

Since Dell and Acer apparently use the same LG display, that's a save bet.... These are from mirror's edge and will show ghosting pretty heavily if there are problems.
