3D Vision with SolidWorks
I'm looking at our university's 3D Vision machines which are only currently running PyMOL in 3D and trying to find other programs that can benefit from 3D Vision. Will either SolidWorks or the Autodesk suite work with 3D Vision?

Google shows something about SolidWorks eDrawings. Something about Maya, too. Worth a try.

This is a user to user forum for stereoscopic gaming. So I'm not sure that you'll get very many answers. However, I can strongly suggest that you and your fellow colleagues, as well as students, would thoroughly enjoy stereoscopic gaming :) Nvidia is always working with the science, educational, medical and industrial communities. It would depend on your GPUs, Displays and Operating Systems whether the latest and greatest stuff that's available would work with what you have. I'd suggest that you go to this link and use the search function there http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us Try searching medical imaging, 3D medical imaging, molecular imaging, etc.. Here's an example https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2015/05/26/echopixel/ You could also call Nvidia, the main guys are pretty much in California, but try the nearest location as well. http://www.nvidia.com/object/contact-information.html Also know that there is a lot of this type of stuff making it's way to VR Headsets.
other programs that can benefit from 3D Vision.
So far the only software I've seen supporting stereoscopic illusions is Keyshot. I haven't had the luck to test it out with 3D Vision yet. It seems it doesnt really have anything to do with illusions though. I guess you're not after stereoscopic pics/illusions are you? If you know how to maneuver the camera in the CAD environment you might be able to create custom stereoscopic images. It would have been awesome if SolidWorks or Auto desk implemented 3D Vision in their packages! There might be challenging obstacles to make it work since designing in 3D will require a 3D mouse pointer. Stereoscopic presentations might be a good selling point for companies. Especially to customers with deep pockets and the lack of imaginations. A 2D presentation is cool. But a 3D presentation would be much better. With the augmented reality taking shape this should actually be something to look into. Its up to Dassault Systèmes to implement. The platform is there. They just have to use it. Cant be too complicated. The other day I came across a very interesting article connected with the realistic lighting environment in Assasins Creed blackflag. Instead of using man-made skyboxes they are using HDRIs made by the photographer/compiler of "Dutch skies". (Cant seem to find the article) Was amazed that game designers are actually using photo realistic lighting environments. But it makes perfectly sense.

This is great news!! Haven't heard about this and assumed it doesn't utilize 3D Vision. We dont work with these packages. We are considering moving over to SolidWorks. Now I have a good reason to push for this =D Hope this is still being kept alive though.. Thanks for the info D-Man.
