DVI 1 for HDMI 1.4 3DTV, DVI 2 for HDMI 1.3 receiver ?
Hi

I have a 480 GTX that can't support bitstream HD. So i bought an Asus Xonar HDAV 1.3 that can support bitstream HD by adding HD track on the HDMI IN, and then output HDMI to the receiver, so i can watch 2D Bluray with DTS HD Master Audio track for exemple...

But the Xonar is not HDMI 1.4, so it can't bitstream HD in 3D Bluray mode...

For those who have a GT 430 or a 460 GTX, in 3D they are forced to buy an HDMI 1.4 receiver to have bitstream HD...

It would be so nice that Nvidia permit to use DVI 1 to HDMI 1.4 3DTV for Bluray 3D, and the DVI 2 to HDMI 1.3 receiver for the bitstream of HD audio tracks...

So i could use this solution with my Xonar and my 480 GTX...

Nvidia please... is it possible to add this feature ?

All ATI cards can bitstream HD from series 5xxx to 6xxx... come on !!!

I can't buy a 580 because it can't bitstream HD too...

Regards,

I haven't tried it with 3dtv play yet but with 3d vision (3d blurays) this is already an option.

Just enxtend your desktop onto the second input (your amp) and then you should be able to choose your amp as primary sound device.

You need to keep the extended desktop active for audio to function though, being pedandtic I also use UltraMon to keep my mouse pointer in desktop 1....it's no biggy but moving stuff of the side of the screen onto a desktop I can't see irritates me a bit :P

Sorry but this is not working in 3D Stereo mode...

In 2D no problem, but in 3D impossible to bitstream HD thru Xonar sound card plugged in the DVI2 and 3DTV plugged to DVD1...

If you have a 430 GT or a 460 GTX and an HDMI 1.4 receiver, no problem... You can bitstream the HD tracks : Tru-HD, DTS HD Master Audio etc...

I'd like to know if i can add a 430 GT to my 480 GTX to play Bluray 3D and Bitstream HD with TotalMedia Theatre 5...

I was able to briefly use bitstream + nVidia 3D Vision (set to generic dlp checkerboard) in TMT 3. But this stopped working once I restarted the PC.

This fluke proves checkerboard 3d mode can work together with HD bitstreaming. Indeed, CHECKERBOARD 3D is a HDMI 1.3 standard. There is no reason why it shouldn't work.

All my components are HDMI 1.3. The soundcard is Xonar HDAV 1.3 slim.

The current limitation is just artificially imposed with no reason.

Please fix this

Don't use bitstream, use LPCM instead and just take it from a second port on the vga card... The only difference is that your reciever won't tell you what codec the source audio is in.....not something to get worked up over.

I am happily using 3d vision and 3dtv play now, with a HDMI 1.2 receiver using 96khz 24bit 7.1 audio...all from a GTX460

An option to configure a DVI/HDMI port as a sound controller for the main display (so that we do not have to extend our desktops to get sound) would be a much better solution though. i.e. in NV Control Panel have an option in sound for "Use sound from DVI2 on DVI1" or something similar.

Multiple desktops can cause issues at times, which is why the current "solution" isn't great.
