I still want to use my 3D Vision! Can I install the 3D Vision driver separately?
According to the Release Notes in 430.39 (as it is the first driver without 3D Vision):
New Features  Added support for Windows 10 May 2019 Update (includes Variable Rate Shading). Discontinued Support  3D Vision Beginning with Release 430, the NVIDIA driver no longer supports the following 3D Vision technologies and features: • NVIDIA 3D Stereoscopic Driver, including the 3D Vision driver and USB (emitter) driver • NVAPI-based stereo APIs for Direct3D applications.
This means that NVAPI is ignoring all the Stereo Related API calls. I am not exactly sure how it would work without it. The fact that it crashes it makes sense. The fact that it works for some people, now that is what doesn't make sense.... RTX is DX12 only, it doesn't matter for anything else then DX12. As for that Windows 10 May update... I am not sure if that would prevent the driver from working. I just wanted to understand what is different before I start hacking away at it ;)
Means it should be tested with a Windows 10 installation before "Windows 10 May update" on a RTX????

Interesting! So basically build 1903 doesn't work, while I am on build 1809 so it should work! Awesome find @zig11727 and glad that piece of info from the release notes proved to be important;) Now, I am really curious as what this new May update added to Windows 10 (and more importantly what did it break ;)) ) One thing is certain, something was changed in the driver to handle the May update that made the 3D Vision driver incompatible. (Maybe the reason Nvidia decided to drop it - it's easier to drop support for a niche product than spend engineering time to update it ^_^ I can't blame them if this is the case). Edit: Based on this: https://www.howtogeek.com/402569/everything-new-in-windows-10s-april-2019-update/ All these updates are let's call them really NOT NEEDED! The last update "forced" down our "throat" with "friendly dates" is the one that honestly ANNOYS THE HELL out of me! Really??? I want a date well to look like a FREAKING date! Not, "yesterday at 12:00" ... The only thing that kinda might break things is the their "Mixed-Reality" stuff that they forced again... I wonder if that can't be disabled and if it is disabled, if it will help.

@zig11727 does 1903 work with vanilla 425.31 drivers (without merging with newer ones) or does this possibly mean 3d vision is broken for everyone in 1903?

The only problem with 425.xx is G-Sync doesn't work while using surround. Nvidia mentioned this as a known issue for Windows 10 but it affects Windows 8.1 as well. If you need Surround G-Sync than go to new drivers where it's fixed and install 3D Vision as explained in these forums or I think the last driver before the Surround G-Sync issue is 416.xx.
