The only way ive ever tried sbs is with the game set to 1080p, ive never said any different. It looked great, but after going back and forth at least 20 times, it looked like 720p with 4x AAand slightly finer at medium distances.

As far as your claim that scaled low res 720P images look "just as good" as hidef 1920x1080 native resolution images, framepacking will override the users settings and autoswitch out of optimized PC graphics mode and into undesireable Video mode. Framepacking was designed strictly for broadcast video, not for PC graphics. That's why samsung and others provide seperate PC graphics mode for people using a TV for a computer monitor. So 720P is ugly for two reasons: wrong mode and scaled low res images. Of course you bought a native rsolution incapable Sony to play 3D games with, so what else are you going to say to rationalize your mistake except "looks good to me"?

I purchased a Samsung 720P 3D Plasma in May of this year for a whooping $700 for ONE SINGLE PURPOSE: Gaming in 3D.
Starting with the PS3 I got at the same time, after burning through the hand full of titles the PS3 had and wanting more I built a PC-Gaming rig. I could NOT BE HAPPIER with the purchase!
Over the last few months I've enjoyed playing Crysis2, Batman(AA), Tomb Raider Underworld and Alice: The madness returns in full STEREOSCOPIC 3D and often 5.1 sound out of my home theater system.
Yesterday I installed and started playing BF3 in 3D.
Since last May I've collected almost 2 dozen 3D movie titles that look AWESOME on my plasma set. (some looking better on my set than they did in the theater where they have the convergence turned WAY DOWN to please the %10 that get headaches watching 3D)
I do own high resolution LCD monitors and even a 120Hz LCD monitor but prefer gaming in a sand chair planted 3-5' in front of my 43" 3D plasma.
Ultimately I'd like to place 3 of these babies in a 1/2 circle for the complete immersion experience.
