Prototype and Aion profiles doesn't fix anything for me :( I uploaded the Shaders of the smoke/fire/dust effects (dx11 version) if anyone want to try. I tried some parameters on ini of 3dmigoto's autofix and none seems to work. It's looks complex for a noob like me. Yeah different dx11 profiles don't do anything for me either. In DX9 it is not too bad EXCEPT for that terrain floatiness, muddled texture which is like that you get in Company of Heroes 2 on most maps. Sad, except for that I would give it a 90 percent acceptable for 3d in dx9. With the bad terrain on the battle maps which makes you nauseous when zooming in I would give it a 70 percent acceptable. You get the floaty terrain in dx9 and dx11 by the way plus in dx11 lots of other problems. Not sure if it is fixable. Someone said it is probably due to lighting effects for Company of heroes and not likely fixable? I hope they are wrong.

oh man I just launched Medieval 2 and it looks great in 3d too bad I can't play rome2 the same way... oh and the game have it own profile ROME2 total war, I've checked AION and others but they didnt fix anythning for me, the game crashes when I have 3d enabled at random times rather early (plays fine with 3d off but I was unable to even play the game during the first week). with dx11=false there isnt much difference for me, the floating ground is especially irritating and is present in both dx9/11 for me (looks simillar to coh2). Total War: Rome II listed as suppoeted game on tridef ;/ pfff way to go nvidia.

Resurrecting this thread as I have started playing the game actively. I know there is more than one thread on this, and I can't find the more relevant one, but nonetheless, now that Creative Assembly has moved on to Attila, Arena, and now Warhammer, it would seem that there will be no more updates to Rome II. Any chance someone could have a go at getting true 3D to work again? I know it was fixed at least once before, but an update broke the fix. I've been using compatibility mode, which actually isn't too bad for this game, but real 3D would look so much better!

The fix was updated a couple of months ago by Muizer: http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/12/rome-2-total-war-dx9-3d-vision-fix.html Or does the updated fix no longer work?

Okay, so I tried out the fix last night. It isn't working. I am assuming this is because I've installed it incorrectly, or else it is conflicting with something else. Can someone help please? I AM running the famous (in Rome Total War circles) Graphics Enhancement Mod, or GEM for short. It is some sort of injector similar to Sweetfx. Looking at the installation page on the HelixMod website, it would appear that GEM would need to be installed first (it was). But the injector mod shouldn't work until some code lines are modified, while the 3D fix should already be noticeable. This is not what I'm seeing. It appears the GEM mod is fine, while the 3D fix does not appear to be activated. This makes me think that the injector mod is not the problem. Next possibility is installing it wrong, although that would be hard to do as the directions are so simple. I extracted Muizer's fixed file to the game's .exe directory. That's it. That's all we are directed to do with this fix. Is there something else I'm not doing that is supposed to be second nature? Third possibility has to do with the fact that this fix is for DX9 only. Maybe I'm running the game in DX11? How do I know, and subsequently, how do I change that? Is it by turning down certain graphical options in the in-game settings menu, or does it require some modification of an .ini file? Any help would be much appreciated! *Edit: I just saw in the comments section on the Helixmod page someone asked the same question, and the procedure for forcing the game into DX9 mode is there. I'll try it tonight. It'll probably work.

Welp, got the game to run in DX9, but the fix still doesn't work. I have tried every troubleshooting step/possible solution and nothing works, so I'm assuming a game update broke things again, which was more or less confirmed by a response to my post on the Helix Mod site. Back to fake 3D it is.... which honestly isn't too bad with this game.

Resurrecting this thread... again... came back to playing Rome 2 after a several month hiatus. CM mode is adequate but somehow my settings accidentally kicked in REAL 3D last night and man is it a hugely wonderful difference! Seems like shadows and reflections are the only things I noticed that were broken. Creative Assembly is now two more games removed from Rome 2 and there will not be any more patches or updates period. Sure would be nice if someone wanted to have a go at getting it working again...

Total war: Warhammer is just out but doesn't seem like anyone that has the skills is that interested in this sort of game. (I even offered to purchase it for the shared account.) I might take a look at this franchise when I have a better grasp of 3dmigoto but I am not there yet.

I think for Rome 2 it would just be reaplying the fix, because it was working great for some time until they updated the game and broke the fix
