"Generic active stereo" to "Generic active stereo (with NVIDIA 3D Vision)" option?
I have a Quadro FX 3800 with the latest driver installed. I am not doing gaming, but 3D terrain building.
Just yesterday, while in the NVIDIA Control Panel settings, my Manage 3D Settings under the Base Profile let me select "Generic active stereo (with NVIDIA 3D Vision)" under the Stereo - Display mode option.
Now today, without anything changed, that same Stereo - Display mode setting does not have "Generic active stereo (with NVIDIA 3D Vision)", but only "Generic active stereo." My 3D is not working. I think I need to have the "Generic active stereo (with NVIDIA 3D Vision)" for it to work.
Any ideas on why the settings are different? How can I get "Generic active stereo (with NVIDIA 3D Vision)" back as a selectable option? I tried rebooting the system, but not sure how I got that option to show up yesterday either. The IR emitter doesn't even turn on despite pressing the button.

What Display are you using?
It could be that the display is no longer being recognized or that it wasn't recognized before (allowing the generic mode) and is now recognized.
Hi, and in case you're not using a monitor with integrated emitter (as it seems since you can press a button) it could well be your system has forgotten about the NvidiaUSB driver... Check in the device manager ther is still listed a "NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D USB controller" in the USB controller tab. If not find the device with HW ID "USBVID_0955&PID_0007&REV_0300" and install the drivers accordingly. (You can find a copy of every driver formerly installed (if you haven't deleted) under C:NVIDIADisplayDriver. Go the most recent folder down to subfolder "NV3DVisionUSB.Driver" wher you will find the driver files.
If you have problems post here.. good luck

Thank you for replying! So I rebooted a few more times, swearing that I had the exact settings as when it was working properly. Then all of a sudden after one of those reboots - it worked. I have no idea why. I have 3D now and I get work now. Thank you.
