3d vision 2 the options menu where is it..
So, I recently purchased a Asus VG278HR monitor with build in 3D vision 2 Emitter. I installed the 331.82 drivers for my GTX 560 Ti card and on windows 8 64 bit. Now I read online there was supposed to be a small drop down menu under stereoscopic 3d settings in the nvidia configuration screen. However there is none and I am going crazy with my monitor turning black for a few seconds and activating the 3d functions everytime I visit a site with a embedded youtube video or any kind of video for that matter. It even turns my 24 inch non 3d samsung monitor black in the same time. Driving me nuts! I read online on googgle that there were supposed to be options to enable 3d gaming only when playing games etc or when actually using a movie player for bluray 3d etc. (in my case cyberlink powerdvd) and that these were added in the 270 drivers for 3d vision. Seeing as we are on 331.82 at this point.. where in gods name are they? or am I literally stuck disabling and enabling stereoscopic 3d in the nividia configuration screen on windows 8.

In windows 8 that setting for when to enable stereoscopic effects is found under the windows resolution settings as win 8 has native 3d support.

Well I checked high and low under anything in cofiguration screen and windows own resolution settings but the only option I got, is the same option under nvidia configuration screen. To either enable or disable stereoscopic 3d. The whole menu regarding when 3d is to be activated is no where near to be found.

Reinstall the drivers, something has gone wrong. Go for a full uninstall first.

Yeah, something is haywire, if it tries to go into 3D, but you don't have any options in the NVIdia control panel like: If you are using Chrome, you can disable that auto-on using NVIdia Inspector and remove the profile for Chrome.

I'm talking about the options you have right underneath change 3d laser sight. I am completely missing the "Hide Stereoscopic 3d effects when game starts" and that drop down menu below it. Which is quite annoying when it constantly goes into 3d mode when going to a video site like youtube(in mozilla) and back(comes with my screen going black for a few seconds). Maybe try the registry here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D For example there is a "StereoDefaultOn" key, a "StereoDefaultONSet" key, and a few others that might have relevance. Just realized you are Win8, so the registry location may be a bit different, but have a look and see what there is.

Yeah I found those keys in the register as well, however They do not seem to do anything for that drowndown menu. I googled a bit more and found out, on these forums even (why could i not find it during search) that a lot of people in 2012 had the same issue. They determined it is depending on what monitor you use and or nvidia deleted it.

I've only seen the options you refer to in screenshots. I'm not sure they're available to most people. You could probably delete the firefox profile in nvidia inspector (if present), that should help.

Well Someone send me a small toggler app, which I was thinking of using, I also just bound the .exe file for activating stereoscopic 3d to my G15 keyboard. Thanks everyone for the input and help :)

Hi I have the same problem. I had the 3D context drop down before and watched two 3d Blu-ray movies but now this context menu is gone and I can't get my secondary 3d hdtv to play 3d blu ray movies in 3d. The last thing I did in that menu before it disappeared was press the "set keyboard shortcuts" button. Now, even pressing the keyboard shortcuts fails to initialize 3D on my hdtv even when I set the hdtv as my main monitor. What is this toggler app you are speaking of? Could this be the answer to my query?
