A popout example even better as the Nvidia-demo..
  1 / 3
I always thought that the Nvidia-demo was giving the better example of popout,
but following the hint of another poster (dogcam: thanks!!) I agree that another Nvidia demo
is even better (although it was probably not explicitely designed for 3D Vision)

You can download the demo here. It's called "GeoForms":
http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_geoforms_downloads.html

Playing a little with the 3D settings (I would say low deep, good convergence)
strange moving forms and bubbles will start to flow in your room
(they are also supposed to follow the music you are hearing,
if you are hearing some on your PC).

There are several "patterns" and not all of them are so good in 3D.
Just press "R" to change the pattern if you don't like the current one.

Well, I find the demo great and I immediately "upgraded" it to my standard
3D demonstration for other people /shifty.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':shifty:' />

Although the demo was already mentioned in another post, I thought
it was worth to give it a little more visibility with a new topic.
Maybe not all of you noticed it.

Greetings!

Here some screenshots for the ones who want to have an idea how it looks:

Yes i agree it is probably the best pop out example going at the mo.

funny, i think it was dogcam who told me about monts ago.

i also think the best 3d video example currently is the Bolt one. The 24 hrs race demo others seem to like gives me loads of ghosting but i get none what so ever on the Nvida / Bolt one.

I just got this and yes it is awesome. I find the ones that dont work so good are the shapes that have a lot of transparency. But solids sometimes reach out of the screen and i feel like i gotta pull my head back so i dont get hit XD

It does seem pretty cool, however when i move the mouse or press any key at all the demo exits /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />

EDIT: OK seems this is controlled by the listen and react to audio setting, which I had turned off as my only recording source is a line-in :P

anyone get the sound to work in the program with windows 7? i have not had any luck. i click on configure audio input and it says unable to launch recording control- try manual activation.

also any tips to get this to pop out more? ive played around the the depth and playing with the conversion and im not that impressed- it does not pop out nearly as much as the nvidia demo. it does look nice though.

You can give the troubleshooting wizard a shot. Press start and type "audio recording" and select "Find and fix audio recording problems". Or you can just muck around in the audio controls, right click the speaker icon in the notification tray and click "Recording devices". I had to unmute the devices, click "Listen to this device" and set the input showing an active level as the default recording device.

For more popout, adjust the convergence. You'll have to "Enable advanced in-game settings" under "Set Keyboard Shortcuts" on the 3D setup page.

Agree. This thing is amazing in 3D!
Set an SLI profile for AFR1.

Nvidia needs to put a 3D vision profile as well as an SLI profile for this old demo in next driver and add it to demo page for 3DVision.
Way cool.

Also....if you hold the right mouse button you can zoom in/out of the geoforms. That's how I get really good pop out.

I'd like to see more of this sort of thing, especially when it reacts to music. v.cool

Do a search for "Sound' and open it.

Go into the recording devices tab and richt click in the area where there are devices and choose show disabled devices. You will need to select the wave out or stereo mix or possibly some other "device" and make it default.

Double click on the device and make sure the volume setting is at 50%.

When you play music the volume bar should go up and down next to it.
