DX12 thread of endless questions and speculative answers
***What games currently offer DX12 rendering that I can play now?
Ashes of the Singularity, Gears of Wars: Ultimate Edition and Rise of the Tomb Raider .
***Will Nvidia have a Compatibility Mode for DX12?
They should, we hope, but only time will tell.
***Can I play DX12 games using Nvidia's stereoscopic drivers for 3D Vision, 3DTV Play and Optimized for GeForce in "Real 3D"
It seems that we can safely assume that Nvidia's GameWorks SDK includes stereoscopic support for DX12 since each of the games listed above have been confirmed by posters to work in 3D, albeit not very well.
***How good are the games in 3D?
The games will typically be a mess just like DX11 games were unless the developers specifically develop the games with 3D in mind. Each of the games mentioned above have broken shadows and other issues.
***I thought DX12 is supposed to have the Option for "native" stereoscopic support?
Yes, the DX12 SDK has native stereoscopic support available. But, this support will be limited to Windows 8, 8.1 and 10. Also, it will require that developers implement the in-game support themselves.
***What about community fixes for DX12?
Currently, wrappers are only available for DX9 and DX11. There are 2 less functional/experimental DX10 wrappers available. Currently there are not any DX12 wrappers being developed. DX12 is really new, so "if" there is a DX12 wrapper, it will most likely not be anytime soon. Perhaps next year?
*** What about SLI, PhysX and 3D Vision Surround support in DX12 from Nvidia?
Good question

***Will the OpenGL wrapper from helifax work for games using Vulkan?
No, it will not.
The Vulkan API is drastically different than OpenGL with a lot of AMD's Mantle integrated into it.
***Will Vulkan support stereoscopic gameplay?
It's too early to answer what Vulkan will/will not support, but it should. If it does not, Vulkan is OpenSource. So it could be added by supporting programs. Perhaps something like GLFW, which already has Vulkan integration.
***Will Nvidia add stereoscopic support for Vulkan to their drivers?
Good question
***Are there any games currently using Vulkan for rendering that I can play?
The only game that has an option to use Vulkan is "The Talos Principal". it requires that you opt into a Beta version on Steam.
