right lense flashing and stereo flickering in 3d surround Triple monitor setup not working on 3x SLI
I have been looking for a solution to this issue since 3d surround came out last month. The right lense of 3d glasses flickers horrible if 3d surround is enabled while using 3 monitors (on 3way sli 470 cards of course), and it seems to be a right/left intermitent stereo switching. If I disable multimonitor surround the flickering goes away. 3dvison surround only works with sli using a single monitor.
I've already tested each card to discard HW problem and tried with the new Aug 6th drivers but still no joy. I also own 3 pairs of glasses and its the same with all of them (fully charged)
For me, triple monitor 3d is still a dream until I can get this working (or until we become inmune to seizures cause by the horrible flickering)

I am aware that this problem is present for a lot of users in the forums and googled similar problems around, but there is still no answer anywhere.

thanks in advance

That's some rig you have there :)
I too am a long term sufferer of this flickering phenomenon and I've never been able to fix it unless I disable one of my gpus on my 295.

Originally I was considering that it was my hardware, but there's a breadth of hardware out there of all specs including those with far higher specs than my own, that are also suffering from this issue.

I'm more inclined to think this is an issue with the drivers or the emitter. Like you've stated, you tried 3 other pairs of glasses so it can't be that.

Since Nvidia have not formally announced they are able to replicate the issue in their labs nor even confirmed that the problem exists, we could be a long while away from a fix, unless ofc a member of this great community can figure something out!?

I can't help but feel that its related to the emitter since it's this device's job to keep the glasses in sync. I'm wondering if there is several versions of this emitter that may fix the issue.

I've been using 3D vision on/off for the last 6 months, and since then no drivers have ever improved on the flickering issue for me. Which tells me, that Nvidia are not working to resolve this issue in previous driver sets.

Nvidia have kindly requested that anyone in close proximity of Nvidia HQ are welcome to take their PC for analysis, but I'm in the UK so that isn't an option for me, or I would gladly try and help the community to resolve their issue as well as my own.

3D vision is a brilliant product, if they could sort this issue out, I would be made up.

Until then..............

Thanks Dave,
I hope someone finds a solution for this. Im in Mexico City, but Im making a trip to California in a few weeks. Unfortunately taking the rig with me to NVidia HQ is not an option (not that I am not willing to), as you may know airport customs between Mexico an USA are not a walk in the park. I think my setup is not so strange since I tried to put together components that are supposedly "SLI certified". But I guess the certification process is more about Marketing than really testing compatibility issues.
Thanks Dave,

Dont flame me but have you tried changing the setup so it thinks you are using 3D Vision in an environment with multiple IR devices? I am not using SLI but it would be good to rule out obvious possibilities.

I found doing this reduced flashing i had in some games eg Prototype.

I also find I get worse flashes at night time (when I have the room light on). Any heat source will emit IR light which might interfier with the emitter. During the day my curtains are drawn so light is defused.

Is your piramid at least 2 feet away from a light source and your glasses etc etc.

Andy, thank you so much pal.
I made the adjustments you advised and sure enough my flashing has vanished!!!

The thing is, I've changed to the multiple IR devices option before without any luck, for some reason it really worked this time :)

I've been very critical of Nvidia of late with regards to this flashing. It seems I own them an apology...........I'm sorry :)

Will keep on testing but played for an hour tonight with zero flashing which has only been possible in the past with turning off one of my GPUs.
I had to double check just to make sure that the GPU still wasn't disabled...and it wasn't :D

A BIG THANKS M8
