Battlefield BC2 frame rates are very poor -NOT A RANT-, not 3d specific
So I have finally had a chance to play BF:BC2 but my frame rates really took a kick with this title. I know my system is aging but this is crazy. I get an average of 8 fps, 45 fps in load screens and .7 during intense action.......yes .7 POINT SEVEN FRAMES A SEC. This is without 3d vision turned on, it would seem 3d vision on or off does not change frames per sec at all. My frames do not change toggling 3d vison off/on and at times having 3d ON i can get higher consistant fps (10 fps). I know its a beta, i was wondering if anyone else has this issue also?

I know some people were having issues, but I haven't heard of anything that extreme, not even on the official forums.

It is beta (and a considerably older build). So it's likely just some optimization problems.

I LOVED Bad Company on the 360. I played BC2 on the PC and it didnt feel right (not to mention bad framerate). I then tried the 360 demo and it ran great Im going with 360 myself..for some reason the control just feels like it works for this game. And I have been a PC gamer for 20 years. Weird

Ill have to download the ps3 version to compare the two. Would be sad to have to get this for the ps3 with having invested in the 3d and would like to justify the cost. I will still pick it up but for the system it works the best on. This will have to wait till the final release plus some weeks to get the bugs worked out then make a choice.

Specifics are listed in my profile but a quick ref is; Dual core 2.2, 1g 250 oc, 4 gig ram, vista 32 prem, 500g hd, 520 psu. Now i would think that the requirements for 3d vision to function are more demanding than bf2s' requirements for even 2d play with min settings. This is not completely an old system issue as ME2, CoDmw2 or even fsx play with higher setting (excluding fsx but it still runs much smoother) than bf2 does right now. What are you guys/girls playing with and have you had this issue too? I am using the latest drivers .21 or full cd 1.20 same same.

I havent tried BFBC2 yet but sometime a single setting like ambient occlusion or some DX10 features can slow your framerate alot. But i also heard in another thread that the game is harder to run than Crysis so...

Game needs a quad core processor similar to GTA4

I started this game from a dual E8200 @3.8ghz which gave choppy gameplay and upgraded to a quad Q9650 which makes the game really nice and smooth :)
