Here to report that Far Cry looks stunning in 3D
Until some of the issues with these newer games gets sorted out, I've been going through my old games and came across Far Cry. I reinstalled it, got the 64 bit patch installed, removed the crosshair, tweaked the depth/convergence and proceeded to be blown away by how good it looks. It is definitely worth another run through now!

See a few posts down for a batch of 3D shots showing off foliage and building interiors...

fired it up last night, couldn't agree more!

what I would like to know is what the 'ultimate' graphics settings are, by tweaking the system.cfg. tweakguides have some documentation on it, but I would like to know how to turn it up to eleven :)

a texture pack would be nice also

Create a file called Systemcfgoverride.cfg in your Far Cry folder and add the following line to it-

hud_crosshair = "0"

I agree it looks great, but I still have to recommend Avatar to anyone that wants the most impressive 3D experience.

The game is showing its age somewhat, I must admit. In its defense, I have uploaded some 3D images I captured this afternoon that I think shows it off nicely.

I remember checking out the demo in 2004 and thinking, Wow - this is truly the pinnacle of 3D graphics!
