Why would you want even more convergence? My eyes can barely handle maximum convergence in TR as is.

Are you kidding? I always play with high convergence values. And I know I'm not the only one. If you are happy with the default values great! But a lot of users would rather have control over this. And we did have prior to this patch. They say the patch has improvements to 3d vision... Sure doesnt look like it.

Oh, I'm absolutely in favour of the option being there to increase it - I'm just surprised it doesn't "break" the game when cranked past the max.

It works great on the previous versions. There are other games that also work fine if you push convergence past the max determined by the developers, like Max Payne 3, Sleeping Dogs. I find the developer max values always on the conservative side and never satisfying...

the regedit lock won't affect me that much since in 3D surround I can only get correct crosshair with 2 settings, and I'm perfectly fine with 30% depth + 50% convergence. however, it's of course better to have gamer control over convergence setting, for every 3D vision possible game. though I think CD does do quite a lot to support 3D vision when they don't really have to. the new patch might be something about the developer's own pride? (don't fxxx around with the regedit! gamers!) or it has conflicts with other related fixes (exceeding official convergence breaks the corsshair fix?) I have no idea, but I'd cut CD some slack due to their efforts:)

A new patch of the PC version of Tomb Raider, build 1.01.743.0 was released this morning. Among other things, the patch includes: - Stereo3D parameters for strength and depth can now be modified in the registry beyond their normal in-game range again.

Fantastic! As a weird side effect, this patch was 1gb and changed my game language to French. I manually changed it back, it downloaded another 1gb, and everything was fine again.

Amazing indeed! O did drop a line on the official forum about the registry lockout, but I didn't think they would actually enable it again. Pretty cool on their part!!

I don't use the hacks personally but that is really impressive that they addressed the issue, really has me very hopeful for future stereoscopic 3D releases from Square Enix/Crystal Dynamics/Eidos.

The only thing keep ruining the game is the damn camera so I really hope upcoming games wont use it like this one and you cant do a thing to disable it. It really sucks I mean to have this crazy camera that keeps centering all the time and to top it of they use this shaky cam to make it more cinematic, or I should say that is what they think but I just think it stinks!

I finally started playing this today and I'm loving it so far, its surprisingly good. I've not had any issues with the camera so far though. My main issue is that I'm only getting about 25 FPS in the shanty town area using ultra settings, no AA, no TressFX with SLI 670's :-(

Note that there are reasons this has not yet been enabled by default, testing has been limited, and the well known severe corruption and crash issues on NVIDIA hardware have been seen to occur more frequently and on more machines with this enabled, so please use with caution.
