Someone correct me if im wrong but even if nvidia certified screens are sbs compatible, you still need to rund 3dv with tridef so the glasses activate?
Incorrect. If your screen supports SBS, simply setting it to SBS mode should activate the glasses automatically.

Thanks Pirate! I'll try it then. Just one more question: I somehow remember people complaining about Tridef messing 3D vision up so after using Tridef they had problems with using 3D vision. It's definitely possible my memory is wrong here but could someone please confirm that 3D vision and Tridef can be used side by side (not simultaneous of course) without interfering problems?
Works fine, ive used 3dv and tridef ror a long time. I do notice one thing tho, nvidia 3d dont start automatically after installing tridef for some reason. you always have to hit ctrl+t when the game starts. No real problems tho. Im using modded hmz-t1 with tridef(my screens cant do sbs) and projector + 24" screen for 3dv.

There is a key for the registry that sets NVidia 3d to start automatically google it
Okay, its not a "problem" per say, just making observations. But thanks for letting me know, ill look into it. :)

@those who know tridef AND 3D Vision: Can you say something about 3D image quality of Tridef SBS via HDMI versus "real" 3D Vision? Is it quite compareable or do you see noticable differencees?
Thanks

@sammy That's absolutely great news! Even more so because you mentioned the HMZ-T1. So I should have no problems with my HMZ-T2 and soon HMZ-T3. GREAT!

Yep works like a charm. When you launch tridef, go to display settings and choose "standard display types" and side-by-side or top-bottom and you are good to go. After you launch game you naturally choose sbs or tb from hmz menu. Also use 1080p res, those 3d modes halves your resolution.

In most cases it's the same.
Well, that's not quite true. Tridef via HDMI means half resolution and lost details!
In my case that is not correct I use 3d play which is 720P tridef side by side and top to bottom is 1080 P I also can use checkerboard in 1080P which is close to full 1080P.
My understanding side by side and top to bottom is a quarter less of total resolution no half.

that is incredible that Nvidia rates it "good" with "shadows off" thus we can't disable shadows... Perhaps with shadows off it looks good anyway but it would be a shame to play a game like this without shadows... GTA4 looks very ugly without shadows
