I'm upgrading some things....just wanted some thoughts on how it'd run 3D
So, I already have a pretty decent rig....but I want to make sure that I can keep up with the games for a while so I want to upgrade it some more.
Here are my current specs
System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
System Model: M68MT-D3
BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1055T Processor (6 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 8190MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: GeForce GTX 470
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
Display Memory: 4064 MB
Dedicated Memory: 1248 MB
Shared Memory: 2815 MB
Current Mode: 1280 x 720 (32 bit) (120Hz)
Monitor Name: Acer H5360
Monitor Model: Acer H5360

I just purchased a LG W2363D Black 23" 3ms Full HD 120Hz 3D to go along with so I have a semi-mobile 3D gaming rig.
- ASRock 890FX Deluxe4 AM3 AMD 890FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with 3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots
- 2 more GTX 470 GTX graphics cards off craigslist for $200 for the pair
- COOLER MASTER HAF 932 AMD Limited Edition AM-932-RWN1-GP Red Steel / Plastic / Mesh bezel ATX Full Tower Computer Case--for that Bad ass look and room
all of which should be showing up in the next few days.
Do you think I should get more memory to go along with or should 8 gigs be enough for now?
Should I get it watercooled because I'm planning on running 3-way SLI GTX 470's?
Should I overclock my processor once I get it rebuilt on the other motherboard....I heard this processor go up to 4.0 ghz no prob...

If you can... just give me some feedback at what you think. I think I've played alot of good games that look great at 720p in 3d on my 12 foot screen, but I can't wait to get my new LG that does full 1080p 3D even though it's on 23"

Not often do people buy rigs then ask how its gonna be lol. Should probably do other way no? Anywho.

For review of your monitor. Its got some crosstalk/ghosting if that bothers you should probably not open it. Planar monitor is much better and little ghosting(review is on same site you can look it up). Going from acer 5360 where neither of these exist you are going to be very dissapointed in lg, not sure about planar since its there but minimal. Neither of these monitors can not do 3D on ps3 or xbox 360 as well, you have been warned. If you are willing to wait some 3d solutions 27" are comming out and though they may be like $300 bux more they will also allow xbox 360/ps3. Once they do come out the prices on smaller monitor's will drop as well(especially with people selling theres.)

Ram is a non-issue. If you had 6gigs I'd say its what people should have and 8gigs is golden. If you are uncertain still open up a 3d game(one with best graphics find in intense scene and check your task manager in use/history.) Your not going to be haveing 18 applications open while 3d gaming, once you hit what you need speed is much better then quantity.. If your confident you can set up watercooling(unscrewing and screwing etc.) However if you are not overclocking video cards/processor don't bother. If you do get one don't skimp and read reviews many of them can be taken from one computer to next and so forth. I have no idea how your set up is "semi-mobile" but whatever. Her is most important part....Your powersupply if you have a crappy power supply thats low rated 800 or less you run a risk of blowing everything out. A crapty brand powersupply if goes over recommended doesn't mind blowing and takeing everything with it. A good brand with at least 850 is what I'd recommend and that's without knowing how many fans/hard drives/ usb devices/cd roms you have. Next most important your motherboard is crossfire. Not a biggie(most likely) but you got to download and patch for sli for all(I assume its compatible but I haven't been up to date on that stuff and I don't know if it works with 3-way SLI again I am out of date on subject.) You will also need to buy a 3 way sli cable since it definitely will not come with it. It may just be easier if your confident in that to return and get an 3-way SLI mobo. So don't expect to hook everything up and be done without that. May want to google it and look it up before you open box and stuff.

PS. GREAT DEAL ON THOSE VIDEO CARDS I AM JEALOUS.
If you run at max settings in 3d on crysis 2 and don't get 60 fps I will be shocked.

I don't have a standard computer monitor so it's kinda hard to take my projector to gaming sessions with buddies, that's why I need a 3D monitor. I Allready have a 3 way SLI cable, but my power supply is 950 watts. I don't remember the name of it off hand, but I got it after reading some positive reviews on it. I got my two graphic cards today and I'm now just waiting until Thursday when the rest arrive.

Also......I'm not really buying a new rig, just swapping motherboards, adding two more 470's, and putting it in a new tower.
