I have a Yamaha 5190 receiver and I can't get 120hz 3D mode to work when connected through the receiver. I am using HDMI into the receiver and then it goes to a 20 foot cable up my wall to the projector. It works perfectly fine when set to 60hz, but as soon as I try to run a game in 3D or run the test from Nvidia control panel It losses connection and just starts cycling inputs. When I hooked up the projector directly to the computer I get 120hz mode fine. Is there something in my receiver that won't pass a 120hz signal? The yamaha is an HDMI 1.3 receiver.
Also, as soon as I switch the cable to make it go though the receiver I CANNOT select 120hz as a refresh rate anymore, only 59 or 60hz. If I plug my computer directly to the projector 120hz pops up as a selectable resolution. The projector is detected fine through the receiver but just won't go into the damn 120hz. ANyone have any ideas?

im glad you pointed this problem out as i was pondering buying a new av reciever and was unsure if they could handle 120hz direct input, most standard resolution input to most hdtv is 60hz and the tv pulls up to what ever hz it is capable of.
i think your gonna have to direct to your pj for now until new av units come out im afraid
