May be removing the convergence portion in the ini file will free it up? Anyone tried it yet?

Convergence is locked for me even after I remove the settings from the .ini file. I am on the 280.19 drivers and have the 1.35 hotfix patch installed.

Hi

Do you mean depth? That's a known issue we have with release 280 drivers. Try using the hotkeys ctrl-f3 and ctrl-f4 to adjust depth.

No Andrew, the convergence is locked not the depth, with the last patch we cant adjust the convergence, the only way to change it is by playing with user ini file

Oh boy, let's not do anything to this game now that breaks the shadows again. Convergence never worked for the game without the .ini tweaks outside of the 1.3 patch, which broke the shadows.

, and I have no performance problems on TW2 or any other game (now that TW2 is fixed that is.) I mean, having a 560 is great and all, but my two little GTS 450s have no trouble running the game.

I did not think Two Worlds 2 is 3d Ready. Suffers the same stereo anomalies as other games... I am playing it right now. And I have tried all the suggestions from these forums.

Solution Gaming didnt turn up any TW2

No, I mean convergence. Convergence is locked in The Witcher 2. The only way to modify it is using the .ini profile.

I threw the depth complaint in the post as well because I just discovered that it is also an issue. I have read the thread about the beta drivers and understand now that it is a known problem.

TW2 is simply an abbreviation for The Witcher 2. There's been confusion on gaming sites regarding the abbreviations for these two games and a lot of people are getting them mixed up. RPGWatch.com users came up with an easy solution: TW2 stands for The Witcher 2,... and 2W2 stands for Two Worlds 2. It's just easier to type those than the whole names.

P.S. - I recant what I said earlier about the 3D quality in this game. I've spent some more time tweaking the convergence in the .ini file and got it to look fantastic. It really comes to life. Most gorgeous game I've played!

do you think that 2 570's in SLI will allow me to play witcher 2 maxed out in 3D???
[/quote]

Yes. I'm running dual EVGA 570s with an i7 2600k OCed to 4.5 ghz and it runs pretty much flawlessly on all high settings (motion blur and DOF turned off). My only issue, which was mentioned by someone else, is mild stuttering of the camera when moving and very poor mouse cursor movement in menues. Lots of lag. Not sure why this is happening, but I think the latter issue has to do with the fact that I'm using a 'wireless' mouse (the cheapo kind that works over USB)and for some reason it isn't syncing properly. The former issue is probably just the way the game runs without motion blur enabled, and is a minor concern.

The game is really beautiful in 3D though. I haven't adjusted convergence at all, but I have depth at around 50% and it looks pretty stunning. More than 60% depth starts to hurt your eyes a bit though. Too much eye focusing all over the screen.

But other than that, damn. Geralt and all the other character models look tangible. Geralt's blue vest/armor thingy looks like you could reach out and touch it and feel the velvety softness on your fingertips. It's really actually unnerving how good it looks.

Mate, I always turn off DoF but not in this game its astonishingly beautiful. Makes the world look really trippy. I even lowered my res one notch to keep it on (I've never ever done that before!) Turn it on, load up flotsom and walk around. Wow

Man, are you insisting on having 60+ fps or something?? I'm just wondering because I'm getting 25-30 fps average and I'm playing with two little ole GTS 450s and a 3 year old dual core processor. I have every setting on max except for ubersampling, motion blur (off), and shadows and number of lights are set to High instead of Ultra. Looks gorgeous and completely playable. Just surprised at your having to turn down settings like resolution based on your hardware.

... but yeah, I agree, depth of field is really sweet. I even turned bloom back on once I got the brightness and gamma at a good level!

Mate

Its my OCD and my pleasure tweaking games. Hence why I wish devs would provide plenty of graphic options...

I refuse to play games if the FPSs dips below 30 at any time as this keeps the frame rate high throughout the game. To me, a game feels different at higher frames - fluid. I normally would refuse to reduce res (VERY last option I would try but always change my mind) but The Witcher 2's engine looked good enough at lower res to do this.

(I let the prelude to war dips go as I am told that first part is the worst in game. And it was.)

Hope there is no problem if ask again, if anyone have this issue too!? Easy to see everywhere in chapter 2. Check it out by enabling (disabling) ingame(Strg+T) 3D Vision.

Thx

my system is i7 2600k + gtx 580 sli + 8gb ram too. I get 25-30fps 1920x1080p, ultra setting plus uber sampling enabled. with unber sampling on, It's choppy 30ish even on high setting. uber sampling is too demending for gtx 580 sli. well.. I am not gonna enable it till I get gtx 680 sli.

Something is wrong with your setup dude ...

Im on : i7 930 4.0 Ghz / 6 GB Tripple Channel 1600 Mhz / 580 GTX SLI / 1920 x 1080P all settings on ultra, everything maxed out and i never dip below 40 FPS with Uber Sampling on.

Most of the time i stay above 50 Fps.

Do you have all the latest patches installed and so on ?

PS.Ok now i see ... you are maxed out and 3D is enabled so that´s why /wallbash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wallbash:' /> MY BAD sry /w00twave.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':w00twave:' />
