Cannot Get 3D Vision To Work
  1 / 3
Hey,

So I am having issues with 3D Vision. The 3D effect works when I complete the wizard and see the test photos at the end, but then I can never get it to engage. The green light on the IR emitter stays light green and never goes back to the bright green like it does during the wizard. Doesn't matter if I use Ctrl + T or select the On/Off on the emitter itself, nothing seems to work.

I am using a BFG GTX260 OCX and a Samsung 2233RZ.

I believe it to be software based and not a cable or anything because it works during the wizard, but never after that. I have yet to see it in game, CoD:MW2 or BF:BC2.

Thanks for your advice and help,

Mitch

I removed my drivers with Driver Sweeper and re-installed the 196.21 GPU drivers and the BETA 196.75 3D drivers, still no luck. Works during wizard tests but that is it. When I am in a game, the "Test Stereoscopic 3D" in the nVidia Control Panel, I get nothing. No bright green light on the emitter.

The only thing that does appear odd is that within my Device Manager under USB Controllers I have an Unknown Device; but the NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D USB Controller appears to be fine.

Is there any support number for nVidia I can call? This is ridiculous.

Well,

I registered my product thus obtaining the phone number for nVidia Support. Apparently they are sending me an email instructing me how to install the drivers properly...

It only engages when you run a 3D game.. What are you trying to run?

Hey,

I was trying Call of Duty 2: Modern Warfare and Battlefield 2: Bad Company. Like I said earlier, it works during the wizard and for the test images after the fact, but immidiately after I do that and go into the nVidia Control to select Test Stereoscopic 3D with the moving nVidia logo and nothing. The emitter's light never goes bright green again. :(

Hey,

So I took a quick video from my iPhone to further explain what I am referring to, I do apologize for the poorer quality, but bare with me. It is almost as if the proper process is not running to tell the IR emitter to engage. The camera picks up the Infrared signal being emitted during the Wizard and Test Stereoscopic 3D - which actually worked this time, it's 50-50 as of late. But when I enter any sort of game, I get absolutely nothing from the emitter. I do get the onscreen display stating "Call of Duty [...] Rating: Excellent [...] Some objects are not rendered are proper distances [...]" and so forth. But no 3D for me. :(

Any more help or advice? I've been advised to contact nVidia Level II tech support, but I work shift work so I am unable to call during their business hours so if I can resolve the issue on my own or with the help of the forum that'd be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Mitch

What happens when you try the Test Stereoscopic 3d option. Does the emitter stay unlight?

u said you are using 1.20 right?

With the Stereoscopic 3D Test about 50% of the time it works and sometimes it doesn't. Obviously when the Stereoscopic Test works, the emitter is on. But for games and so on the emitter doesn't turn on. I get the onscreen overlay in the right hand corner but the emitter still stays off.

I also swapped out the entire 3D Vision kit today and am still experiencing the same problems so it is not a hardware based issue - which I expected to be the case but now know for sure.

Maybe a USB issue, like sometimes it's plugged in and getting signal fine and sometimes not? If you're plugging it in through a hub or external usb thing, try plugging it straight into the back of your computer.

It's direct to the MoBo, no hub involved. Tried a couple different USB ports as well. Still trying anything that comes to mind... :(

Any thoughts or ideas, keep 'em coming. Had two calls with the level II tech support and nothing has been resolved as of yet.

I was going to mention the USB thing as well, because on my mobo one of the USB ports is bad and the emitter will not work at all unless plugged into another port. Guess I'll send it back to EVGA for RMA once I get a p55 and an i5-750 to replace it. Have you tried unplugging the emitter first, and then uninstall/reinstall the drivers, finally plugging the emitter only when you are on the last step of the setup wizard?
