Is 3d technology worth investing money?
Hey fellows I just wanted to know is 3d vision worth investing money because I am going to buy a new LCD Monitor and 3d monitor by Samsung and Viewsonic does not have enough resolution and screen size , so can I just skip this vision or to buy 3d monitor if it is worth sacrificing resolution and money. /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> This is my first visit since 2008. Comments appreciated.

it isn't worth it yet imo

there are only 2 displays that support 1080p 3d:
the alienware which has terrible badlight bleeding, 2 frames input lag, and tends to malfunction
and the acer with a nice 3 frames input lag

hope better displays or tvs are being made before 3d dies again /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Whether it is worth it is entirely up to you. To me, it seems obvious 3d is going to come to pass and it will be a standard. Much like stereo (and now surround) audio has replaced mono audio 3d will replace flat 2d video. You have two eyes after all, might as well use them.

So in my mind it isn't a question of "if" 3d will replace 2d, but rather "when". At this point you're still paying a good bit of money to add 3d to your computer. The lcds do have noticeable ghosting. It can be a little buggy at times. The glasses can be bulky. There are things that make it less than ideal, and you just have to ask yourself whether you care or not. If you really want 3d it's a no brainer. If you couldn't care less than you probably wouldn't appreciate it right now. If you're between those extremes it's a 100% for sure "maybe" as to whether it's worth it.

don't worry about the resolution on the sammy or viewsonic if its just for games, 3D is the biggest leap games can get

Get a samsung or mitsubishi DLP if your concerned with resolution and screen size , if not wait for the larger monitors to come out or better quality hdtv lcds or leds to arrive.

How much are you will to spend?

3d is definitely a game changing aspect for any game that works well with it. It made me want to go through all my old games in 3d over again , tons of fun! worth it completely.

Try the Accer new 24 inch 3D LCD MONITOR.

In addition there is some drivers' issue that some games does not show real-3D IMAGE.

BUT DEFINITETLY IF YOU PLAY GAME THAT OFFER REAL 3D (IMAGE STAND OUT FROM MONITOR) you CANNOT RETURN WITHOU 3D TO PLAY GAME.

Don't let perfect ruin great. 3d stereo gaming is not something that can be quantified and explained to you. It isn't something that you can just weigh the pros and cons of and make a logical decision on paper. 3D stereo gaming is worth it because it completely changes the way one experiences games.

Whether its worth it or not is up to you.

Personally, I'd wait mainly because 3D-at-home is finally in the mainstreams eyes. With that, every company is pushing their solution to become the industry standard. The end result is you will have winners with their solution to continue to evolve and have losers with their solution just fizzles away, ie Betamax/vhs and hddvd/blu-ray.

But if you want something cool to play around with, go for it.
