D-man WRONG. I tried to help as much as I can. I however, have limited knowledge in most things and have little to say about certain issues. So it is pointless for me. I even tried to help in one tread about a year ago, and I believe you corrected me cos I gave the user incorrect information. which I felt bad for, but good thing I was corrected. I just happen to know about this particular set up process because I recently went through it. and I too, had the exact same questions. So don't say, I don't like going out of my way. I even offered to send him the edid which I have in case he didn't have it. like I mentioned I wasn't sure if he had already completed his set up and got it working. But I was ready to look for the links and provide them to him with no issue.
I was not trying to imply that you needed to hold his hand and do everything for him. But it was obvious he had no knowledge of how basic things worked/meant. Thats all I was saying since you started to get annoyed at his questions.
As stated 3D Vision does not work with that TV. 3D Vision is for 120Hz Displays. Why do I have to say this again?
There are existing threads that answer these redundant questions

So Please stop assuming stuff about me without knowing anything about me. just the fact that I've registered in 2011 like that means something. I never had any issue with you, And I'm not trying to start one. I've always had respect for you and you always been helpful even to me.

Yesterday I tried the EDID, couldn't get the 3D to work. But somehow 3D vision trial got reset so spent a lot of time gaming @720p. Will try EDID override again today.
And thanks again for spending time to help me out.

Are you using Device Manager to override Monitor driver with EDID file? Note that, for first installation of driver override under Windows 10, you must override Windows security of driver signatures via Advanced System startup option (you may need to search how to do this step). Whenever you update NVIDIA graphics drivers, you will need to re-install EDID override (it is not permanent). You know you are successful if you see an Acer monitor description and Optimized for NVIDIA GeForce label in NVIDIA’s Control Panel 3D setup activation.
Are you using 4K certified HDMI cable (HDMI cables are NOT identical)?

Sometimes you will need to reboot or hot plug(at your own risk) to get the EDID to take.
Once installed, you will notice the eyes are messed up and need to be switched. You can confirm this by putting the glasses on upside down.
To swap eyes, it needs to be done in the registry. There are two apps that make this easy, use either one. But remember, once you lock the registry, you need to unlock it when necessary.

@DrVignesh
Complementing the info...if you are playing any DX11 game with 3Dmigoto fix, you can always play on "Top and Bottom" mode.
Steps:
1) Change in NVCP to "HDMI Checkerboard", this remove the 720p limitation of the driver, so now you can use 1080 resolution.
2) In the d3dx.ini (shipped with the fix), change "x7 = 0" to "x7 = 5". In my fixes i already change that.
2) In the d3dx.ini, change ";run = CustomShader3DVision2SBS" to "run = CustomShader3DVision2SBS" (remove the ";"). Some recent version of 3Dmigoto need a different change, but there are a few games shipped with that version.
Now start the game in 1920x1080 resolution (also 4K resolution can be used in TaB mode), and you can play at that resolution and 60fps. Since you have a passive 3DTV, you need to use "Top and Bottom" mode to not lost fidelity in the image.
If you tell us what game are you playing we can guide you better.
This don't work in dx9 games, only dx11.

HI DrVinesh. It is important that you have a 4K Certified HDMI cable. Not all of the of them work.
Also, I'm not sure what version of Windows do you have but if you have Windows 10. I will tell you exactly how I got this to work. there are 2 phases in this setup the first one is setting up your computer, the second one is setting up your TV. Each one is crucial.
Phase one:
First. once you have the EDID file. You must override your LG TV driver with it. Please make sure you only have one display plugged into your computer, and that, that display is your LG TV.
Second, you have to restart your computer holding the shift key. then you will see the blue "Advance options" menu come up ---> then select Troubleshoot --> then select Start up settings --> then click Restart. once the computer restarts you'll see another menu. Select option 7 Disable driver signature enforcement. Once the computer restarts then you'll be able to install the EDID override.
Note: If you haven't done any of these steps you won't be able to install it. It may sound like a lot, but it is actually really straight forward.
Third. you have to open Device manager on your computer ---> Expand monitors, there should be only one entry under it. It might says generic monitor or LG tv name. just right click on it and select "update Driver Software", ---> then select "browse my computer for Driver", ---> then Browse, then look for the location of where the EDID file is and select it and accept the prompt, ignore the warnings. once you installed the file, I would restart the computer after that.
Note: this is what has worked for me. After this when you check your 3d Stereoscopy option under the NVidia control panel it will say "Optimezed for Nvidia Geforce" it will no longer say 3D TVPLAY. At this point You should be able to enable it, and leave your resolution at 4k/60hz. I would recommend testing your 3D with control panel test Application. Note that the eyes will be inverted so at this point you can use your glasses upside down just to make sure the 3D is working. if the 3D tests good. Use one of the apps to swap the eyes so you don't have to use your glasses upside down.
this is just the first part of the process. Next you have to configure your TV to work with it.
Phase two:
I'll copy the link to the posts on the thread you want to focus on which are mainly posts #143 and #150
if you are playing any DX11 game with 3Dmigoto fix, you can always play on "Top and Bottom" mode.
This is great alternative. 3Dmigoto fixes are found at helixmod.blogspot - although, I am not sure all DX11 fixes have been updated to include 3Dmigoto's latest features like TAB. By the way, always use TAB with interlaced passive LG TV's, and minimize use of SBS if possible - to preserve image quality.
If DrVignesh uses joker18's latest EDID mod (the link I referenced above), he will see "Acer Passive 3D LCD" instead of Zalman reference.
On a somewhat related topic, while recently tracking an issue with my Vive Pro, Windows 10 Advanced Startup DID NOT WORK. I could not enter SAFE mode on MULTIPLE attempts - all keyboard entries were ignored using either wired or wireless keyboards. I created a Windows 10 trouble/incident report. The problem appears to now be resolved, since I could use Advanced Startup in my more recent testing of various 4K EDID versions. Has anyone else had a recent issue using Advanced startup options when rebooting Windows 10?

Blu-rays are not a confirmation, they play at 24FPS. Play 2D 4K 60Hz YCbCr444 to confirm.
Have you read your owner's manual, not all HDMI inputs are created equal, this is especially true on earlier models where high bandwidth was limited to one or two inputs.
Try another EDID, like one of Jokers older ones or something.
Checkerboard...you will not be able to access the drop down menu for this with Optomized for GeForce, it only gives you a single choice.
Also as suggested, did you try rebooting after installation.

Next up, I'm gonna try different EDID variations of what Joker has already shared.

If you installed the EDID Correctly you will see "Acer something" Mine says "Acer HR274h" under device manager. it does Not say LG. so yours shouldnt either.
Just wondering what is the model # of your TV? All of the instructions I gave you for your set were for 2016 oled 4k 3D TV. If you have one of these TVs. I wouldn't bother with Checkerboard, or top/down mode. You'd be doing yourself a disservice. These TVs are probably the best 3D display that are out there, and you want to use their full potential. After all you didn't pay all of this money to use it halfway.
PS. this is the cable I bought and works great:

But the settings for depth and convergence disappeared. Do the shortcuts for 3DTV Play work?
Edit: Noob again. The settings are greyed out, but do work!
Thanks everyone! Let me enjoy the weekend the way I wanted to (since 8 years).
Wow, just tried Alan Wake @4K and it blows my mind! There are texture/shadow issues, but still, I'm willing to overlook them (but not when the environment is totally dark!)!
If you tell us what game are you playing we can guide you better.
DHR, now that I got it to work, I was wondering if you have a suggestion to test it out with a FPS (kind of a calibration to understand the best possible results).
My all time favorites are HL2, Painkiller, NFS MW, FEAR, GTA Vice City, Bioshock, Fallout 3, Skyrim, Doom. I want to re-play ALL of these. Currently, I have almost finished Half-life franchise, except for Portal 2.
I'm so happy that "Optimized for Geforce" is a thing and thanks to Whyme, D-Man and Sebastatu for making me understand/have similar view on this. You guys rock!
Now, I'm gonna disappear for sometime while I enjoy GOG games in 4K!

If you have a problem with a game, Please post in an existing thread

Note who posted the links, it wasn't Mr IT sebastatu
I was not trying to imply that you needed to hold his hand and do everything for him. But it was obvious he had no knowledge of how basic things worked/meant. Thats all I was saying since you started to get annoyed at his questions.

Don't forget about post #150 it is a crucial one to make sure you get the color bug we all had.
If you do everything correctly. congratulations you will behold the most beautiful 3D picture ever.
So I tried it again today, thrice.
1) HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Color is ON for HDMI port 1 which I'm using.
2) Have renamed Picture mode to "Game".
3) Resolution = 3840x2160 (native)
Refresh rate = 60Hz
Desktop color depth = 32-bit
Output color depth = 8 bpc
Output color format = YCBbr444
4) Did EDID override
At this point, all 3D stereo settings are greyed out and I do not see any NVIDIA logo there.
Further detail;s below.
Thanks dude! I'm happy that I'm not the only one!
Yes, but I booted into troubleshooting mode and device manager reports that my TV is a monitor - "LGE LG TV (GSM001 EDID Override)". Also, 3DTV Play is disabled now. I do not see any Nvidia logo in the "Set up stereoscopic 3D" menu.
That is what I wanted to see, but everything there is greyed out. There is no logo now on the settings page (not even 3DTV which was active before the EDID override)
I will try it out once I get the "Optimized for Geforce" kicks in! Thanks for the checkerboard tip!
You and Whyme mention the same thing. All I've got is Amazon Basics 3M cable which they say is compatible with 4K res with 3D. I have seen 3D Bluray rips in 4K HDR with this cable. Would that not be enough?
LG UH850t | i7 8700 | GTX 1080 | Windows 10 (1607) | Nvidia 397.31 | Acer EDID
Have you read your owner's manual, not all HDMI inputs are created equal, this is especially true on earlier models where high bandwidth was limited to one or two inputs.
Try another EDID, like one of Jokers older ones or something.
Checkerboard...you will not be able to access the drop down menu for this with Optomized for GeForce, it only gives you a single choice.
Also as suggested, did you try rebooting after installation.
Will try playing again in 2d 4K 60hz with 4:4:4 (I do remember playing Trine in this setting, but will test again).
Next up, I'm gonna try different EDID variations of what Joker has already shared.
LG UH850t | i7 8700 | GTX 1080 | Windows 10 (1607) | Nvidia 397.31 | Acer EDID
Just wondering what is the model # of your TV? All of the instructions I gave you for your set were for 2016 oled 4k 3D TV. If you have one of these TVs. I wouldn't bother with Checkerboard, or top/down mode. You'd be doing yourself a disservice. These TVs are probably the best 3D display that are out there, and you want to use their full potential. After all you didn't pay all of this money to use it halfway.
PS. this is the cable I bought and works great:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004LTE5JI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
But the settings for depth and convergence disappeared. Do the shortcuts for 3DTV Play work?
Edit: Noob again. The settings are greyed out, but do work!
Thanks everyone! Let me enjoy the weekend the way I wanted to (since 8 years).
LG UH850t | i7 8700 | GTX 1080 | Windows 10 (1607) | Nvidia 397.31 | Acer EDID
