Hello, I just got an Optoma HD66 projector and the Nvidia 3D vision kit.
I went through the install procedure for the 3d cd using version 1.33. I uninstalled the old nvidia drivers and then ran the graphics driver and the 3d driver. However when i get to the part where the 3d setup asks for what type of 3D display, it won't pick up the projector.
The projector is hooked up to the computer with the included DVI-HDMi cable and the Nvidia transmitter is hooked up by usb to the computer and the cable from the IR emitter to the projector goes into the RS-232 port. The projector is in 3D mode.
I have a 8800GTS graphics card. Any help on why this doesn't work would be great.

Well Nvidia better gets its act together if they put that projector on the offical page i wanted it to work. Been waiting for official support to avoid all this nonsense.
Does anyone know if the .inf file replacement shown in this thread Guide to getting Optoma HD66 to work with CD1.27 (and possibly higher) drivers. will work with the new drivers? I guess you can load the .inf file with device manager? The link to to Acer .inf is here INF Acer
I don't want to break my projector or computer but I would like to get 3D on this expensive new system.

Hi guys. Sorry, I know this is about the wrong display. Been fighting this thing all day and it's just not happening. At the end of my rope. Figured you guys would know, if anyone.
So I have an Optoma GameTime GT720 projector, which is on NVIDIA's Certified list. It's a 1280x800 display, but 3D compatibility only goes up to 1280x720 (highest resolution at which it can do 120Hz).
I have no problem putting the display into 1280x720@120Hz. That works fine. But when I go into the NVIDIA control panel and click "enable stereoscopic 3D" and it starts the wizard, the stupid thing auto-switches the projector back to 1280x800@60Hz.
I'm sure I'm doing something stupid and this is an easy problem to fix, but I really don't know what to do. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

After it switches to 1280x800, try to complete the wizard anyway by selecting what you think are the correct shapes to be seen by each eye. If you select the wrong ones the first time around, try the opposite ones next. in previous driver versions this worked (with a forced inf for my projector). Out of curiousity, what display is identified in device manager? Will this version allow you to select CRT?

You can't do anything because it is not your fault but Nvidias.
You have to use the .inf hack until we get "real" support for our Optoma projectors.

Did you not read the new drivers features? They are MEANT to support the Optoma projectors and it says on nVidia's support page that the projectors are supported when they are clearly not.
Who cares about whether it works with hacked drivers or not. We shouldn't have to be using hacked drivers if the official drivers are meant to support it.

Oh yes, I'd read it carefully :)
And the new drivers are MEANT BUT DOESN'T work "as is", so if you want to use your lovely 3d vision kit with your beautiful Optoma projector, you have to run the obnoxious inf hack, so basically I CARE because I like to play in s3d using the latest drivers.
I agree with you that we shouldn't have to be using it, SHAME ON NVIDIA /pirate.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':pirate:' />
Lets hope they put REAL support in their next driver release.
BTW, I came from the ATI + IZ3D + x102 glasses, where ATI said back in February that they added s3d support via quad buffer but STILL doesn't work AT ALL with ANY projector, so having to use an inf hack is like a walk in the park for me.

I went through the install procedure for the 3d cd using version 1.33. I uninstalled the old nvidia drivers and then ran the graphics driver and the 3d driver. However when i get to the part where the 3d setup asks for what type of 3D display, it won't pick up the projector.

The most laughable thing is they've added the Optoma's to their supported list without actually supporting them..

You have to use the .inf hack until we get "real" support for our Optoma projectors.

I agree with you that we shouldn't have to be using it, SHAME ON NVIDIA
Lets hope they put REAL support in their next driver release.
BTW, I came from the ATI + IZ3D + x102 glasses, where ATI said back in February that they added s3d support via quad buffer but STILL doesn't work AT ALL with ANY projector, so having to use an inf hack is like a walk in the park for me.

This version won't allow me to select CRT so I'm stuck at "3D Display not found." What's the last version I can downgrade to that still gives me the "generic CRT" option? I can try it again after that and report back.
The device manager shows "Optoma" but that's it.

Just use the .inf hack with the latest drivers and voila! it will work fine.
