The plasma isnt officially supported, but you can set it up just like a Generic DLP.

Not unless you use 1.15 driver set though
Same issue Andrew with these Plasmas, Generic DLP doesn't show any more pretty much like the Samsung DLP users. Only discovery option comes up, still waiting to play on my 50" again :)

You cant set it up like the dlp cause these r to diff kinds of tvs, you can select dlp as your viewing method, but im talking about the ghosting hes getting the split images ect and i have read on hear that it works good with the right settings ( we need your settings ). I told him to take it back and get a dlp cause to me they dont have all the issues other displays have. I would like to know what people think is the best display out to view 3d on. Thanks Peace

They are different TV's technology wise but both utilize the same onboard chip for 3D (Checkerboard format / Generic DLP)
Did you guys read the Samsung Plasma manual :), it advises most of everything to get it up and running.

You must make sure you have the synch cable that come with the Nvidia glasses kit connected to the port on the back of the TV and the other end that looks like a stereo mini jack connects into that hole on the back of the Nvidia IR emitter.
You definitely setup using the DLP generic setting in the drop down menu. Try Nvidia 1.15 driver set , anything after this isn't giving you a generic DLP option in the drop down menu.
Make sure your using the HDMI/DVI port on the back of the TV, this is the only one that accepts 3D.
Then go to menu options on the TV and turn on 3D checkerboard format, then mode1 or mode2 for which method of synching L and R eye.
Then make sure the game or test you are doing is set to a resolution of 1366x768 (50" version) or 1024x768 (42" version).

I would say the DLP TV's are still the best performing 3D as they always comment next to no ghosting, but there are issues using these as well. Text is hard to read and an oddball resolution due to overscan issues. I had no choice but the Plasma last year as DLP's are only available in the US, otherwise I would have one.

Personally i would wait until the summer to purchaser a large screen 3d setup.

I went from a 52inch 120grtz display to the 22nich samsung for 3d...
then went out and bought the 450 (canada as well...) it was, imho, horrible compaired to the 2233 monitor...

with all the major manufacturers jumping on the 3d bandwagon anything you purchase now will pretty much be obsolite come summer.

I would tell him to return the plasma and wait it out to purchase a lcd/led 1080p 3d tv later this year...

picture mode: Movie
Cell light: 10
Contrast: 55
Brightness: 55

I tried this:

Nvidia control panel: Stereo gamma 1.4
TV: picture mode: movie
Cell light: 10
Contrast: 100
Brightness: 100
Adv. sett. Gamma: +1
White balance R-gain: 50 (more red)
Color Tone: Warm1

and it helps with ghosting.

What driver you using Freke for the DLP option.
I can't loose current profiles so I'm not on my Plasma at the moment until they fix DLP option again.

this is with Stereoscopic Player which has "3D-ready DLP TV" playback regardless of which driver.
