Shadow Complex finally comes to PC... and it's Free!*
1 / 3
It's free but you have to download Epic Games Launcher and sign-up for a free account ... which I haven't been able to sign-in to yet ...

It will be for limited time only thou - but that will give Us time to check that out. It`s still on Unreal Engine 3 so might be not that bad.
Good game so might get some attention.
Thanks for bringing that one up mate.
Another game from Epic that is getting a re-mastered release is Gears of War, but it will be thru Microsoft Studio.
Microsoft acquired the GoW francise from Epic in early 2014.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition released for Xbox in August with the PC version yet to be announced, but was expected to be in 2015.
I just tested Shadow Complex. 3D is broken. I deinstalledd the game after 15 minutes. It did not fancy me. Sorry, there I cannot provide you with pictures. But as it is free everyone can download it. They should bring it on Steam and not through this Epic launcher. I don't having too many launchers...

I think they are trying to promote their launcher for their upcoming game Paragon.
I have a feeling that they want to be the next Origin and will probably tie the license of their Engine to their digital distribution.
I fully expect this game to come to Steam after the free promotion is over.
This is a way to get the launcher on your computer so in the future, getting you to play their games is easier. I already had Unreal Tournament and an account, so this is just straight up a really well renowned game, coming to PC for me for free. Thats a ridiculously cool deal - especially since it's a game I've wanted to play for ages.

If I knew it was coming to Steam without any other additional clients needed, I'd just wait and pay money for it (assuming it is coming).
But let's face it, it'll probably come to Steam and still use the Epic Launcher. So I'm definitely not paying money for that. Guess I'll just set up an account and download for free.

Is it for me to keep forever in the Epic Games Launcher, or will it be disabled/uninstalled after this month?
Weird thing is that 3Dmigoto in hunting mode says "stereo disabled" even when 3D is enabled. I've only seen that one other time: with Dolphin, when using its 3D Vision mode.
I've fixed just a few shaders (in the tutorial mode. I haven't started the story mode yet), but if I get serious about this someday, I want to know if I will lose the game or not :p.

I haven't gotten around to actually playing it yet, but supposedly you can launch it without the launcher if you want:

Obviously a hack (and you still need to register and launch at least once with the launcher), but it's simple enough.

Finished playing it. That really was a great game. Forgot how much I love the Metroidvania genre.
Lots of different scale perspectives. Even under the best of circumstance, seems like it'd be a difficult game to get working properly in stereo 3D. But an awesome game (in 2D) anyways.
