To nVidia: OpenGL Support? Coming Soon?

Funny. Opengl used to be supported via forceware drivers, and now for some reason it is not. Please Nvidia tell me that this is not so you can sell more Quadro cards as opposed to Geforce cards. Gamers will continue to purchase gamer cards, and workstation cards will continue to be used for professional workstations.

Am I really asking too much for opengl support? You know the stuff you said was going to be released to the public back last fall when you originally advertised this product? I don't want to run 3ds max. I want to run GlQuake (for example). I'm a gamer, not a professional. When did opengl become special software? Or is it that Directx is funding 3d support now? This was something for support you USED to do without a second thought, and now I see threads like this one being ignored completely. Why? Don't you realize that as soon as someone actually provides driver support for opengl games they will get sales for that? What is the rationale behind this? I think as customers we are not asking too much for you to give the support you said you would (not some "er what we meant was that opengl would ONLY be supported if you bought a REALLY expensive workstation card from us".) I don't remember reading that at all. If I had I would not have spent over $700 bucks on your newest 3d venture. I have two of your 275's at ~$300 bucks apiece in my system - because they were supposed to support your 3d tech (which was supposed to have opengl support). Can a customer who has forked out a TON of $ for your products (especially over the years) get some type of real response? Thank you.

It's always encouraging to see a response from Nvidia on this issue. I guess they either don't read thier forums, or just don't care.

As it's stated when you register at these forums, they are not an official support channel. The purpose of these forums are user-to-user support.

GUNNM > Incredible, you expect an NVIDIA user to be able to tell you if NVIDIA has plans to support OpenGL with 3D Vision...

Making a thread to ask NVIDIA a question, and no other purpose, is essentially SPAM. These forums are provided as a means for NVIDIA users to connect with other NVIDIA users. They are not an official support channel. They are not a feedback channel. After all, Andrew Fear already answered to that question

http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=99753&hl=

And, at least, it was positive. Which is good.
