Fuji W1 Real 3D almost here and I want a good stereoscopic photo viewer ready for it
How about it Team 3DVision?
stphmkr.exe already had the MPO format support with their viewer. All you guys need to do is to let the app work with your 3DVision. How hard could it be and it's free advert. Come on, be a nice guy for a change, support your customer while you are not losing any sales, give us the use of the best stereoscopic photo viewer on the planet please.
Don't be like a snobby big corporate guy like Motorola with the biggest piece of the mobile phone pie to eventually collapsing into near bankruptcy, poor management has been plaguing them but holding back on consumers for no obvious reasons (read: incompetent and lazyass devs/designers/group leaders/managers) has also been suspected in their downfall.

I have the same issue. I have a W1, love it, but it's very tricky to use the stereoviewer with it - I would love to be able to to have a key to delete stereoimages straight out of the viewer if they are not good enough, also the viewer will in my case always stop working in 3D after 20 images or so. I then need to exit it, restart and select the slideshow from the point of crash.
I think the problem is that the intersection of 3D photo enthusiasts and Nvidia owners is small. Most others wish Nvidia to focus their limited 3D resources on gaming.
I would love to see Nvidia turn more of their 3D software open source. Maybe this would be a good start to improving on the viewer.

Even if Nvidia open its photoviewer into open source it will take years for it to reach the level of the original Stereoscopic Photo Maker (SPM: shortname for the stphmkr executable) and when it gets there it's just another clone of the SPM. I think it's much easier and much better for consumers to have the use of SPM right now, all Nvidia needs to do is to enable their driver to allow SPM to work with 3DVision setup, that's all. Probably will take exactly one line of code.
As a side note, grats for the W1. Is it possible to post some shots and/or a video sample? I'm bating my breath waiting to put my hands on one of them as soon as Amazon carries it.

For what its worth I wrote a little app called MPO2Stereo that will take an MPO file and extract the original JPG stereo pairs:

I also have a version that converts directly to JPS but its only like 80% complete so I haven't released it yet.
im new to the 3d thing but "real" viewing (non cg or animated visuals) was a big part of the sale for me. N will need to really step it up and cash in on the buzz 3d vision is generating. i am getting bored (little bored) with the 3d games and would like to start converting my pics soon.

Preach it Brother, I saw IBM lose the whole world because of similar sillyness, it doesn't have to be this way, but it often always is :(
