Does 3D Vision work with 144hz monitors?
I own a BenQ monitor that supports up the 144hz. XL2420TE Does 3D Vision work at 144hz or does it downgrade itself to 120hz? Does lightboost work with 144hz? Is 144hz better overall? Thanks

Yeah, 3d vision will only work at 120hz. Not sure about Lightboost, though I'd suspect it would be the same. 144hz is better, but it's not a big difference. Going from 60 to 120 makes a big difference, but I don't believe 144 to be nearly as significant.

I see a lot of 144hz monitors not saying anything about nvidia 3d vision compatible. Can I use any of them or only the compatible ones?

AFAIK, you can't simply use a 120Hz monitor. I think it requires special demuxing hardware to seperate the left and right images from the incoming Frame Packed format. The displays listed on the 3D Vision site work. http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-displays.html Then, I'm pretty sure that all of these monitors work. AOC G2460PG, ASUS MG248Q, DELL S2716DG, Acer GN276HL, ASUS ROG PG278Q There are actually a couple of new Acer monitors that work with 3D Vision, but I'm not sure which ones because Acer's naming scheme sucks. The Acer XB270HU Abprz I think is certified, plus some others.

Thank You very much. I wanna to buy the ROG PG278Q, but I'm seeing 21:9 144Hz monitors none of them saying nothing about 3D vision and I was wondering if using at 120Hz could be possible. So, I'm afraid there's no possibility of 3D on any 21:9 monitors. It's difficult to get one for test it, maybe on some empty store...

hello djkano ! i have a ROG PG278Q and i'm using ALWAYS 3dvision. In fact, the monitor switches itself to 120hz when 3Dvision is enabled. G-sync is working on 144hz, when you don't want to use 3Dvision (CTRL+T) 2560 x 1440 is the native res. i'm playing all games using 2560 x 1440 120hz 3dvision2 with a 2xSLI GTX 980. look at my signature it works like a charm ! you can purchase this ROG. (if i had the money, i'd buy 2 other ones to get 3DSurround)

AFAIK, there are not currently any that support it. You can run a 21:9 resolution on regular monitors in a letterbox format though. If I recall correctly, on a 27 inch monitor it equals 25 inches corner to corner. I posted the measurements in one of the S2716DG threads or it might be in the "something relevant" thread.

Great idea, if I buy the PG278Q I can use as 21:9 1080 screen simply by using only 1080 horizontal pixels instead all 1440. I'm looking to buy this monitor used here in Spain, but is difficult. And still to much for me if new.

Update: I buyed the PG278Q and made a custom resolution of 2560x1080 @ 144Hz. It works! It's stunning. Now I can play games in 21:9.

At 25.5 inches corner to corner, it's a small image for 21:9, but I'll agree that it looks great. I've used it in a few games.
