3 * DepthQ HD and Quadro 4500 x 2 Problematic resoltions with DepthQ HD projectors
Hello everyone

We just got 3 of new DepthQ HD projectors, and we are using 2 x Quadro 4500 cards to suply picture from VR application. Problem is that on windows startup these projectors seem to pick up signals completely randomly. 1 shows 1280x768 as windows desktop should be, next projector what is getting Display #2 (same resolution) may occasionally show 1150x768, some times 1024x768 and so on. Also the screen aspect ratio is pretty tricky. To get things work I have to manually open Nvidia settings, readjust all resolutions to 1 step lower and then back, and then things work ok.

What is deciding the aspect ratios and resolutions? Is it projector according to source or how does it work? Shouldnt all projectors detect same signal as windows is showing? (1280x768 @ 120Hz). All this feels like throwing resolutions in a bag, shuffling it a bit and then having lottery on how the desktops are actually seen on the screen. Really random and confusing. I am well aware of the 1280x720 so called native resolution for the DepthQ, but the most stable performance we have managed to get is with 1280x768.

I can upload system topology picture here if someone can help and wants to see it.

It is hard to say what is causing the problem here, hard to accuse graphics card or projectors when you dont really know what device is commanding what.

Anyone here expert who could enlighten me on what could be the source of the problem?

Graphics card #1 and its #1 output seems to produce flawless 3D stereo on 99% of cases. Card #1 output #2 is pretty steady, but the stereo effect gets distorted after a while. And most problematic is card #2 output #1 what is feeding projector #3. This seems to be working on propably 5% of cases and tries.

*confused*

maybe you have "force detection" of TV signals check? 1280x720 is the standard for 720p...1280x768 is PC....I never have anything like this happens on all my projectors..I havent got the depthq yet, I let you know since I got quadro FX 3700 to work with it..

It might be that you are lacking frame synchronization between video outputs. #1 and #2 outputs from #1 video card are synced in the beginning, but gets asynced eventually. #2 video card is not synced with #1 video card anyhow, so that is why you are not able to see stereoscopic.
