Glad to hear it is working for people, though. Now we just need the content! I wonder if there is anywhere I can rent Cloudy from to test it.
Part of the problem are the exclusives to hardware vendors
Monsters vs Aliens - Samsung
Ice Age 3D - Panasonic
Coraline 3D - Panasonic
Alice in Wonderland - I think this is a Sony one?
Avatar - Someone has claim to this too...might be Panasonic again later in the year
So the problem is that all the titles are being grabbed by the hardware manufacturers. This then leads to frustration for 3D blu-ray owners..and piracy increments accordingly. The film studios should NOT agree to exclusives with hardware manufacturers..it is to their detriment I am sure.

Exclusives only help destroy the 3D blu ray platform from becoming successful. What good is it for consumers when they have no choice in watching all 3d movies out now because of it being exclusive to each brand of 3dtv?
well I have it working (sorta) on a dual core AMD with a GTX260 4 gig DDR2.... way too choppy. The 3D is stunning though.
Time to finally upgrade my test machine. A GTX 260 is not capable of hardware acceleration for BD3D is it?
I have a GTX 260 and I play BD3D content just fine with no skipping. Your problem is CPU and/or RAM.

Exactly. I know people that would buy the technology if there were a half dozen titles available. And we'd have that, too, if it wasn't for the exclusives. As it is, nobody wants to drop the coin to play one movie. So they're paying all this money to get exclusives that act as a deterrent to actually selling the tech.
Perhaps they don't want to actually sell it? Production problems, cost, whatever...?
When Avatar Blu Ray 3d is released, I'm sure many many more people will start buying 3d TV's..
That could be a long way off if Panasonic have a 6 month or longer exclusive on it..... Monsters vs Aliens was the first exclusive and it still doesn't have a general release date, so perhaps its even more than 6 months.

I sold my 2D Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, and bought the 3D version. It arrived from Amazon yesterday, so I was very happy when I checked PowerDVD 10 for updates and got the Mark II update. The 3D on my 23" Alienware was amazing. Next step is a 3D capable projector, either Optoma HD66 or Acer H5360, to use with the 80" 16x9 pullup screen that I have. I guess I'll be looking for some extra glasses as well. I probably won't do this until there is more 3D content available, though. I'm not going to pay the crazy prices to get a copy of one of the Panasonic or Samsung exclusive movies from eBay.
The only problem I had is that I had to turn off hardware acceleration for video in PowerDVD to get the movie to play in 3D. The screen would go from black to a purple shade in fullscreen mode. The movie still played smoothly, but I understood that my GTX 470 should support 3D Blu-ray hardware acceleration. I looked in the 3D Vision section of my video driver (I have the latest version, 257.21), but didn't see a setting. Maybe this is just a glitch, since Mark II is new.

Will it work with the Viewsonic?
Will it work with any BD drive?
Will it work with the GTX285?
Thanks.
