Nonetheless sometimes I manage to put 120 Hz with Nvidia CP and it changes (you can feel it and the OSD confirms it) without going to 100% brightness and keeping the ability to adjust the OSD bright, etc, meanwhile other times it goes to top brightness and also blocks the OSD controls...Strange. In any case, when I have 120 Hz but without top bright, it does not force that freq in games, I mean that it reverts to what the game prefers/setting when game starts, and if the game reverts, let's say, to 60 Hz, then I find the red comment from stereo drivers "attempt to run stereo in a screen not compatible, etc". On the other hand when putting 120 Hz results in top bright, then it seems to force that freq to the game. I guess it is good to know.
If only I could control when I want only 120 Hz without top bright and when I want both, instead of leaving that to the chance...

So Nvidia has no plans in the future to enable the users to decide whether or not it's required for themselves? Is it physically impossible for the monitor to play in 3D without being 100% brightness (as in a limit of the tech), or does Nvidia just think we can't decide for ourselves which brightness works best? I would really love the option to turn down the brightness in 3D as I don't see how harm could come from it. It would be nice if the 100% brightness preset was just suggested and put there by default while letting the user decide if they want to brightness down at the cost of visibility in darker games.

100% brightness is needed for proper quality and effect in 3D mode. We are not doing it becuase we think you shouldnt have control ;)
