3D Vision Trouble Having trouble getting this working.
Hi,
I have an Alienware OptX AW2310, nVidia 3D Vision Pack, and 2 laptops:
-Clevo M570TU with DVI-I, HDMI Out (GTX 280m)
-Alienware M17x with VGA, HDMI, Displayport Out (SLi GTX 260m)
Now I realise I need a dual link DVI output to run 3D Vision at 1080p, but seeing as my video Outputs do not have enough bandwidth I am restricted to a lower resolution. Unfortunately 3D Vision will not recognise my monitor on the Alienware and refuses to work on the Clevo. When I add the custom resolutions to support my display (as the nVidia control panel does not automatically detect for some weird reason) those resolutions disappear as options from my games. I.E if i add 1280x800@120Hz as a custom resolution I lose the ability to even select that resolution in games and D3D will crash if I try to force the resolution.
I have verified that my display is in fact running at 120Hz so I really don't understand why I can't at least get a 3D vision game to even work at 1280x800, and correct me if I'm wrong but 1280x800@120Hz will use slightly less bandwidth than 1920x1080@60Hz so it should work on HDMI or DVI-I
I have contacted nVidia support and they are just as useless as they normally are, and tried driver versions 197.45 and 257.21
