With all the SLI+ROG Swift problems, why would you go SLI?
I'm not going to let one (very F'ing expensive) monitor dictate my hardware choices. I intend to eventually replace the ROG SWIFT and write it off as a bad "investment" if another 1440 3D vision alternative comes to the market, alternatively I will live in the hope NVidia will fix this in a future driver. To be completely honest the ROG SWIFT 3D ghosting is disgustingly bad but I've made myself get used to it, the inversion lines would kill me if I wasn't actually sitting about 18" away from it and didn't really notice them. My old 1080 VG278H was far better for 3D gaming, I regret selling it now. Buyers remorse isn't something I usually suffer with (its usually guilt about spending large sums of money on something as frivolous as PC gaming, 3D and VR) but eventually I've have to admit to myself this wasn't £650 well spent. G-sync and 1440p are very nice for when I'm not in 3D but they don't make up for the shortfalls, and its too hard to drive some recent games 3D at playable framerates. So I'll keep hoping the SWIFT gets a driver fix, and get a secondary 4k Gsync display for Witcher 3 and the new Batman game if they aren't 3D friendly.
I`ve checked Trine 3 already and i just cant express my excitement. You guys are True Artists !
Oh come on, enough with this boring statements already. All the same since 6 years! It's surely boring to hear that at Frozenbyte. ;) (If it wasn't obvious already, I'm joking. I mean - every Trine they make, they prove games are art. Every Trine they release surprises another group of people who didn't know about FB awesome art skills and are amazed by that when they try out 3D version (or the same old people who didn't even stopped being amazed by old Trine when a newer and better sequel shows and ups the pole even higher ;)) BTW. I just went through all the Early Access levels in T3, and had to switch my settings even lower to 900p 100Hz (50Hz per eye) on my gtx760, but I do wonder how would this game look if someone made a 4K 3D vision 2 monitor and a GPU fast enough to maintain 120fps at 2160p. Or 1440p with AA/DSR. 1080p and watching T3 at 40cm from 24" monitor isn't giving Trine 3 the space to fully spread its wings.
Welcome to the forums, Kai! We pretty much never see developers stop by, but we really appreciate it when they do. I'd actually love to know what caused the 3D slowdowns for Trine 2, and how you fixed it. I haven't picked up T3 yet, but if you're able to come back and answer that question, I'll pick up a copy to say thanks!
Thanks :) Our Senior Graphics programmer Juha commented about the cause / fix of the slowdowns in Trine EE / Trine 2 on the Steam forums: http://steamcommunity.com/app/35720/discussions/0/611704730314565099/#c611704730327782366 "We were asking Nvidia driver "is stereo enabled" quite a few times per frame instead of doing it only once and caching the result. In some cases this seems to do very bad things for cpu usage. We were never able to reproduce this with Trine 2, but as we found it with Trine 3 we patched earlier games as well. I don't know if this was caused by some change in the driver, but we really shouldn't have spammed those queries in the first place." Glad you guys are liking the 3D in Trine 3 and sorry about the performance issues! Hopefully we can optimize everything further during Early Access :)

Thanks, I've bought a copy! I think I'll wait for it to come out of Early Access before playing though, I'd rather experience the finished product. Once again, thanks for stopping by!

Anyone else having performance issues in 3D? Runs smooth as butter when I turn 3D off (CTRL T) but very poor with 3D visin engaged. I get an in game capped 60 in 2D, and 18-22 in 3D - not really playable. But the game does look stunning as do 1 and 2.

A Dev here!! :D Gettin this game as soon as I have some cash! Of course, I love the Trine games and T3 was already a planned purchase anyhow. I'm amazed and happy to see actual devs really care about all their fans, even us niche 3d dudes.

3D is badly broken with drivers version 353.06. Got the same issues with all Trine games. It looks like some shaders are doubled and lightning is all over the place. Anybody else got the same problem ?

Meanwhile... new patch adds one new story level. It's called Astral Academy, I hope it's not a tutorial from previous games. ;) I'll check it out in the evening.

Hey everyone, Trine 3 came out of early access today, and is in full release! I've not played it yet (despite buying it months ago to support their 3D efforts), but hopefully it's as good as the last two.

I hope it adds a lot more to the story and gameplay itself. The Early Access was really short (no wonder thou) and felt so good that i really needed more, a lot more. Also hoping for some DLC to show up, or two. Three dimensional movement freedom adds a lot to this franchise and i don`t agree with all this comments on Steam that it ruined this game - it is going in really good direction and i hope that they will still evolve this game to transform it maybe into open world puzzle adventure.
