So i have been a loyal NVIDIA user for years and i bought myself a Samsung SA950 27" 3D monitor thinking it would be a perfect entry to 3D...
Wrong.
It seems that you cannot make a Samsung monitor work with Nvidia graphics cards at all.
I read through several forums about various 3rd party software and old versions of drivers and i have come to the conclusion that NVIDIA want to lock down its 3D compatibility to people that pay to be "3D vision ready".
Maybe its just Samsung that is too cheap to pay.. but i am VERY dissapointed to know that £200 of graphics card and £450 of monitor cant even work together.
When will Nvidia provide support for 3D ?
Or do i go buy an ATI card again after about 10 years?

It's kind of like pulling into a gas station in your Chevy and they tell you, "Sorry, we only sell gas to people that drive Fords, HIT THE ROAD"
It seems anti-competitive, I wonder if they are not breaking United States antitrust laws or similar European laws.
I saw this monitor in a Fry's the other day while looking for the VG278H and thought, why don't i just buy this? Luckily i was able to check the forums while i was there... Does seem counter intuitive. I do get the idea of not allowing ANY TV to use 3D because yet if anyone could hook up their TV's with a super high pixel response time, that might make for some very bad opinions of 3D. However this i don't quite understand.

I drive a ford but no gas for me! nvidia removed my avr from the compatible list because it doesn't work. That was an easy fix for the compatibility issues I found for them. Just took a couple of months before they admitted it!

Is there any future plans to Harmonise 3D drivers across graphics cards?
I would rather wait a little before going for an ATI card right away.
or can anyone suggest some reliable middleware that doesnt involve rolling back drivers etc.. ?
I have an ASUS Nvidia GTX560 graphics card and Samsung SA950 monitor.

Ritchtea,
I've PMed you a few days ago, haven't you received it? If you had, why are you still asking for a solution to make your S950 work with 3D Vision + newer drivers?
As I said, there are workarounds that don't envolve rolling back drivers.

I just bought this samsung 3d moniter sa950 and i need some help ,because i downloaded trial versions of corel, cyberlink and i forget the other and all i wanted to do was be able to play a 3d bluray disc on my computers bluray drive and all of these dame software compinies software whn i try just to play the 3d movie in the settings it won't let me play 3d because there options all seem to be looking for a nivida type display, this is really not fair at all and i am pissed. This Samsung moniter is capable of 3d in so many modes so why did they make software that has anything to do with nivida?? You know I spent 700 bucks on this moniter and 400 on an nivida gtx card so money is not a problem, I would gladly buy from nivida one of there software/hardware kits as long as it would make my Samsung moniter work in 3d....I am new to this issue so does any kit nivida sell make this moniter work?? HELP

I have an ASUS Nvidia GTX560 graphics card and Samsung SA950 monitor.
I have the 750D monitor which has same issues but have it working.
I'll be swapping to ATI out of principle for my next purchase. I am not going to support Nvidia with these type of business tactics.
