This is exactly why we should be able to tweak sync timings from 3d Vision control panel. There can always be unexpected latency caused by component x, and it's just matter of some tweaking settings to fix that...

To bad the answer for now is to get an older motherboard...
How can you affort to try different boards ,if you dont mind me asking ?

Hmmm, is that even possible? If this is set up so the monitor tells the video card that the frame is ready, then the video card tells the USB port, then the port tells the IR box, then the IR box tells the glasses, what would you tweak? They are all going as fast as they can already. Or is this set up with some sort of common clock so the IR box and monitor know they are supposed to switch every 1/120 of a second starting at a certain time?

Actually to adjust the signal delay at that frequency is nothing for a PC . an operation is done in a billionth of a second and it does over 10 billion operations per second .
I did a couple of more tests today and it seems that the boards with AMD chipsets are more successible to top of the screen ghosting . The best so far were ASUS M3N78-VM , Phenom 2 955 , fallowed by EVGA X58 SLI 3X , i7 950 and the worse M4A79XTD EVO and Asus M4A88TD-V EVO . I doubt Nvidia didn't test this and noticed a difference on different systems . Why couldn't they leave the option to adjust the duty cycle that was available in the first few drivers or build a hardware adjustment button into the IR transmitter .

I don't know exactly how it works, but if the chain is like you described couldn't the video card just add a delay before syncing USB port or something?

And due to double buffering, it could even signal IR box earlier. But if only delay was possible I wouldn't mind even seeing image one frame (1/120 s) later if it did remove ghosting.

Being able to adjust sync by 1ms steps shifts ghosting ~10% up or down. It's just accurate enough to minimize ghosting issues. Right?

Also no USB tweaking did helped with my monitors and projectors. As i would really like to use these great nvidia glasses(no comparison to old shutter glasses, especially brightness and colours)and drivers, I will certainliy switch to an other mainboard. If I don´t get any other recommendations I will have to use the evga x58, but I am sure there a lots of others. So please poeple post your mainboard if you use CRTs or TFTs for 3d. Also a negative list of bad board would be appreciated:

My heavy ghosting system: asus P5n32e sli and lots of professional grade normally ghosting free (p43 phosphor) bigscreen CRT monitors and projectors.


Would be great to create a list of very recommend 3D mainboards.
