Delete the NVidia Control Panel shader cache. Disable the cache. The game changed and it causes this problem.
Hello,
I allways have crash or graphic bug during play...
I've done a lot of test to explain crash on many Nvidia and game updates, you can see my work in these 2 files.

Could you help me to solve my problems?
Thanks.

@Beurk: Yeah, it's a real drag that this game doesn't work well in 3D, because it's soooo close to perfect. Just a couple more fixes, and it will be flawless, assuming we get those fixes.
I see that you set your settings to lowest, and still get crashes. In my case, the one setting that guarantees crashes is the textures. Anything above Normal and it will crash in 5 runs of the benchmark. Set to Normal, and I can run the benchmark for 175 tries before crashing.
The 3D dropout is also bizarre. I went to take a look at it yesterday with 3Dmigoto, but of course it then ran without any problem for 5 hours, no crash, no dropout. Gaah!
Send a bug report to R* in case you haven't already. They aren't going to look at stuff that doesn't have bug reports, and right now we can't fix the problem with our tools.
Reference my support #, and Pirate's support #: #4112676, #3552109
The more people who report, the more likely this will be fixed.
Just to be clear, it's not possible to fix this with 3Dmigoto- it's a game bug that leaks memory, and we can't fix this sort of problem. If you don't report the bug to R* to add some weight, we'll never get to play this in 3D.

Testing out atm with win8,1
driver: 352.86
crash heaven....
Before I gonna test, i have 2 questions
Did sombody tried commandline switches?
Did sombody tried cacheboost ?
I used cacheboost with modded IV to keep textures dissapering and my version became more stable, and that whas basicly a crashfest version.
ps: I dindt read trough all the pages, so if Iam missing something please let me know
@bo3b
5 hours the longest you could play without crashing?
does it happen totally random?
I had 4 crashes in a hour, iam busy testing a really funny theory at the moment
also i use graphich details on very high.
report back later with progress

A few pages back I posted my Stability Challenge as a way to sift through the suggested solutions. The problem with GTA5 random crashes is that things seem to be improved, but it's actually the placebo effect, or possibly luck.
The Stability Challenge is a way to prove it works. So far, we have nothing reliable. The challenge is whether you can run the built in benchmark more than 200 times.
I tried adding your -norestrictions flag to the commandline.txt. My commandline.txt also includes a few settings to run the benchmark.
This is perhaps better. Normally I get crashes after about 5 runs of the benchmark. With this flag I got to 15 runs before it crashed.

Try playing with the settings. I ran across the crosshair in 2D at one point, but it was a setting that causes it. Can't recall exactly, but I think maybe it was AA settings. On higher levels it broke the crosshair.
Don't know about the lights in one eye, I'm not seeing that with my normal setup on 350.12 with the latest game version.

You can always use FXAA through NV Control Panel. Looks better then other. Check if that helps.

These are the settings I use for teh Stability Challenge: http://sg.bo3b.net/gtav/crash/
Both commandline.txt and settings.xml. Using these, I crash after 5 runs, easy to reproduce.
For what it's worth I tried cacheboost also, and did not see any change. But I've never used it before, so maybe there are better settings or something.
Nearly certain that this crash happens because GTA5 is leaking memory in 3D mode. (but not in 2D mode.)
