[quote name='skywalka' date='Apr 27 2008, 07:29 PM']Sorry to bump an old thread but as of today (April 2008) what is THE best card for 3D?

Would it be a pair of GeForce 7950 GX2's?

I can't get over the coincidence of the message directly previous to yours and how so much has changed in what an appropriate answer would be.

As this is an NVIDIA forum, I would recommend an 8 series GPU if you are using the new Vista 32 bit drivers with their choice of 3D monitors. If you are using older technology on an XP operating system, the 7600GT series worked best for me. I have a 7900GTX, but the NVIDIA laser sight doesn't work with it.

Chopper

Thanx for replying Chopper.

I am using XP.

Are you certain the laser sight issue is caused by the card & not the driver? Either way it's strange that things got worse with time.

It's the driver of course, and with the Vista 32 bit version, it will work for the interlaced monitor solution NVIDIA works with.

However, the older XP drivers are no longer supported.

[quote name='Likay' date='Jun 22 2007, 10:38 AM']Since sli wont work for stereo either i can recommend the 7900 series (7900GT or 7900GTX) to play stereo. It might also very well pay off to wait and see what happens by time.

Does the 7950 GX2 work in 3d yet? Whether with 1 or 2 cards?
