Hi, so I'm looking into buying a 3D ready monitor. I would buy the new 27" Asus that comes with the 3D vision 2, but I do not have room for the monitor. since there is no other official 23" monitor I have some questions about other brand monitors and some basic 3D tech questions
1) Does Nvidia 3D vision work with any "3D" labeled monitor?
2) Are the Nvidia 3D vision 2 glasses active or passive?
3) Now are the monitors either passive or active as well? And if so how would I tell?
Im looking at this LG because its 3D ready, however it talks about its own 3D software, could I just throw that out and use the nvidia 3D vision instead?

Option #3 is the way for you.
You can get TrackIR and have head tracking in flight sims and first-person shooters.

Best bet is 720p 3D gaming with that card.
If you want a monitor though, and not headgear, most 120hz monitors (3d ready) will work. If you have a specific smaller one in mind, post a link and I'm sure someone here will be able to help you out.
You can find a bunch of specifically supported monitors here as well:

No way...
Get this...
1. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236206
2. Or get a 50 in or larger active shutter 3DTV for 700-800$
3. Or get the Sony HMD for 600.00
You will be happy with all 3 if you are playing the games on the Helix fix list, or other recommended games on this forum
If you dont have Dual 680's in SLI than I would recomend option #2 or #3
You will never get 60fps with option #1 anyway.
