No, I was talking about 3DV2 1080p vs. 3DV2 1440p.
If 1080p is on a 24" and 1440p on a 27" you will go from 92 DPI to 109 DPI.
I haven't compared both side by side so I cannot say more.
Of course if both are 24" or both 27" the DPI gap will be higher so quality will improve even more.

Yeah, but that's theory, I wanted to ask someone who knows from seeing it on his own eyes, cause there might be a surprise underneath, like same resolution in VR displays and difference because one screen was RGB and secon PenTile, or in the issue of SDE (visible spaces between pixels or sub-pixels in VR), which might get even worse after switching to higher resolution.
So the overall effect in case of 1080 and 1440p monitors might also be a lot less improved than proportional improvement in resolution alone.
I hope it's not though. :)
Finally....
Just bought the Asus PG278QR, and I'm in love :)
Captain007 I agree with your description, it has LESS ghosting than my old Asus VG248QE, actually close to none !!!
Not a single dead pixel, and no visible scanlines !!
Just one issue though, I'm not that pleased with 1080P upscaling, it looks blurry to me, but I guess there's nothing I can do about it - except upgrading my 980TI :P
Hello all, I agree with you "Asus PG278QR" provide such an amazing experience of gaming. Actually I also love to play digital games. I'm little bit jealous from you because I also want that model for gaming.

I've got the ROG Swift (PG278QR) running on a 1080.
Expensive, but awesome. gsync and 3d, plus lightboost, incredible clarity, red LED (eh), and a good height on it. Needs DisplayPort, but that should be fine.
Overwatch runs at 144 constantly (not 3d).
And having 1440 for desktop stuff is amazing.
I've hooked up my old monitor alongside, so I now have 2 screens.

^ I can second everything zingfharn said, expensive but worth every penny. I was initially looking at ultrawides but wanted to keep the 3d vision and I am very sensitive to blur which is killed by the strobing backlight. My VG278H serves now as my secondary monitor, which has more value in that function than the small bucks I could get for selling it.

Why do you game in 1080P ?
It gets a little to blurry for my liking, with the right settings I can run allmost every thing in 1440P with a single 980TI.

They probably haven't added it because of many people not using 3D at all but it sucks anyway. I mean for that price I would really have liked it to be included. And also maybe the red LED to be RGB instead because they focus on that for a while now so...

I quite like the emitter. My computer room gets the sun in the morning and you can see inside it with a red tint. Kinda matches the red LED on the monitor.
I agree with the rgb light though. Also programmable. Like you could set it to go green on 3d and blue for full screen 2d or just pulse or random or whatever.

Yea I have an external emitter....but I I'm not paying $600+ for a screen without one built in like the
VG278H.
So I guess I gotta wait till the prices come down....if they ever do

There hasn't been a monitor with a built in emitter for years. And I think it's better to have it external, in case you need the function of unplugging it (I had a bug in W7 where I had to replug it after every reboot. Not anymore in W10).
Any R owners have any defects????
I keep reading stuff about dead pixels on Amazon reviews unless they are talking about the regular Q model
I've actually got 2 dead pixels, they appeared after a couple of days use !
Now I have used it for a month, and I certainly hope that it is stabilized now...
It's kinda annoying, but it really can't keep me awake in the nights !
Besides this, it has been a real pleasure, and it has brought my 3D gaming to a hole new level !
Scanlines is allmost invisible if the screen is vertically tilted about 5 degrees !
The best part IMO is actually the vivid colours, and a much much better black level than my old VG248Q, dark scenerys with a few lightsources, looks very detailed and absolutely stunning !!
