3D Vision in the UK "Soon" (?)
Hi all,

I just got back from the awesome Gadget Show Live that's going on over this weekend in the UK atm. Really nicely I got to try 3D Vision for the first time, and it totally lived up to my expectations, really really amazing, which just makes the wait to buy it even harder! I was playing it on Burnout Paradise which I'd already played without the glasses, so it was nice to be experiencing just the differences rather than being wowed by the game too! It was a bit uncomfortable for the first 5-10 seconds, but then I played for a good 10 minutes or so and couldn't notice any ghosting or problems that seems to be a common concern with this tech, and felt fine afterwards. I know 10 mins is hardly the 8 odd hour gaming sessions some of us are used to, but it was enogh to get a quick grasp imo!

Anyway, the whole point of this post. I asked one of the reps there demoing it about UK availability (I was hoping they might be selling it there at the show), and although he said there's still no official date in mind for the UK (and presumably EU), he mentioned that I should keep my eye on it over the next month because it "may very well be coming out pretty soon". He also mentioned that it should go for around £420 for the monitor and glasses bundle, which compared to the $600 in the US, that's great, i was expecting it to be alot more after the hundreds of taxes we get over here. Hopefuly some of that info is slightly true and not complete guesswork, so fingers crossed!

Yeah, I went to the show aswell. It was great.
And the 3D stuff was great aswell. We asked the guy at the nvidia 3d place when it's coming out, and he said in the next few weeks, but he said that any monitor with a refresh rate of 120Hz or above (which there aren't terably many of) and that the glasses would cost around £120 when they come out.

I doubt it will come out in a "few weeks"...Otherwise we would have an official release date ...

I'm beginning to think that we'll have to wait 'till september

Funny, when I spoke the my local computer shop he got onto the phone to his supplier (big NV disti) who said that NV hadn't decided who was going to be distributing this, the NV or Samsung disties.

Given this I can't see how we can be weeks away, you would expect that the supply chain needs to be told who they actually are before shipping occurs.

Finally, some good news to hear. Although it is not the official statement, but it is still good as I saw other people also talking about the release at the end of the next month.

I'm tired of unofficial statement and rumors. I won't believe they effectively sell 3D Vision in Europe until I read something official

I've noticed that Novatech and ebuyer are taking preorders for it aswell. And Nvidia have put these pages up on their UK site now:
http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/product_GeF...sionKit_uk.html
http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/product_GeF...nBundle_uk.html
which are just like the ones on their US site, but without the buy/add to cart button.
Also PC Specialist have put 3D vision as a possible extra when you configure a desktop with them, so it's looking hopeful :)

You can now buy 3D vision bundle at scan.co.uk. Just few hours ago, we could only pre-order 3d vision, but now, it is available for purchase. At last, UK gamers can now get 3d vision bundle pack :)
