How to I turn on 3d mode in fsx?
I just tried ctrl t while flying around but nothing happened. Do I need to run the 3d vision setup wizard and connect my 3d devices first?

You have to have the 3d vision drivers installed (usually they install with the main driver package), and you do need to go through the 3D Vision setup wizard, with your IR emitter connected.

Yep, should work pretty well using the usual automatic 3D mode. You will see some bad runway lights when running in 3D. Daylight is pretty much great, but nighttime is pretty much unplayable in 3D. You can disable some of the lights using the technique I describe here: http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/07/microsoft-flight-simulator-x-fsx.html
