If by port you mean the usb ir device that came with the 3d vision, this plugs into your computer.
If you are using 3dtv play (which currently is the only method for you to view 3d gaming on a hdtv (not 120hz computer lcd)). You plug the ir device into your pc. It is unused currently (till a 3dtv software update won't require its use anymore). Then you set your in game rez to 1920x1080@24hz or 1280x720@60hz and your tv should activate for 3d, if it doesn't turn it on 3d.
With 3DTV play you still use your tv's built in/external ir device. Not the nVISION ir device (its just needed for now).
Check this thread; http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=185919 for a update to the nvidia 260.99 drivers (its not a full driver you still need the original 260.99 installed). Don't forget to install the nvidia ir usb drivers so that it is loaded properly. http://www.nvidia.com/3DUpdate/
If all else fails, try this link; http://blog.bagearon.com/?p=38 (follow step by step, it worked for me since my tv is unsupported, and I use a receiver for audio before the tv, ie; videocard > receiver > tv)
Don't forget, you need to activate 3d in the nvidia control panel under the 3d stereoscopic wizard, otherwise all of the above is useless. Some reboots may be required once you install drivers etc.
