...but I'm afraid it will break 3D Vision and Windows Media Center with QAM tuner, anyone has done it?
I don't have SLI, just one GTX770. I got a license and am itching to try out the new Win as long as it works as current OS (win 7 home premium).
If you have room why not install to another partition? Then you can test with your own system.
This is what I have done, but still find myself more in my Win 7 ult environment with my gaming.
Good Luck!
That says to me you were planning an in-place upgrade.
Never do that. It's never as stable as a fresh install. I can tell you that 3d vision works perfectly well on both 8 and 8.1 though. No idea about media centre.

That thought actually occurred :). I got to clean up and make some room for a fresh install to see how it goes and gradually delete Win 7 partition to merge/expand for Win 8 usage ( Does Win 8 has utility to do that ?) or just use it for data. Glad to know 3D Vision is fully functional with it. Thank you.

It's worth getting a second drive. That way you can have Windows and programs installed on one drive, and keep games and media on a second. Makes backing up and reinstalling much easier too. I'm currently sitting on six drives myself :)

That'll probably give you a better improvement than the OS upgrade would.
I have 6 drives myself too: one for OS/programs, a large HDD for games, an SSD for games I want to load faster, a HDD for music/picturs etc., one for backups, and an SSD for Photoshop cache. Splitting up your system like this keeps things running optimally, and makes reinstalling windows a breeze

Allways wondering about that myself, have several HDD's as I have just used different portions on the same drive.
So tell my this please :)
Right know I only have an SSD for my gaming comp a 120GB and I was wondering to get a larger SSD just for my games but wondering if say I reinstall my OS how can windows find the games on the second SSD ?
I mean how do windows get the right registry strings/entrys and such ?
