Divinity: Original Sin

A quick update. I worked out how to perfectly fix all the indoor shadows that come from the staff lights, torches etc. but right now this has a knock on effect with another lighting effect that I can't seem to work out lol. I will keep at it though. If need be the other lighting effect is minor compared to the dynamic lights and shadows that I have fixed, so I could disable it perhaps. Has anyone else seen the wierd "lines" effect when picking up a shell or other items off the beach? This hard to track down because the effect does not last very long and the game does not have a "freeze/pause" option.

WIP Update attached. I believe I have fixed the indoor shadow and lighting issue now. There is one residual effect I can see on the "New Game" screen, but it's minor. Still not played with the HUD yet though. I attached a new pic of the indoor dungeon area showing that the shadows are in place and the lighting around the characters is correct. I also checked an outside scene. **OOPS I messed up the upload and it looks like s**t. Let me track down what I screwed up... I finally gave it a try, the character creation screen has some wrong shadows, however ingame it looks perfect to me! I've only tried the beginning of the game so I can't share much though. The HUD is at the wrong depth but at this point it's very playable for me, thanks a lot mike for this.

The character creation screen shadows are the ones that are only approximate right now. You will see these to a less obvious degree in indoor scenes in game, depending on your zoom level and convergence setting. The HUD is all at screen depth because I have not done that. I had a quick look and all the different bits move by different amounts when corrected, so I'm not sure I have the will to sort that all out - someone else could give that a shot.

I know that eqzitara is the master of HUD tweaking, but in my case I'm more than used to HUDs at screen depth so I'm ok with that. For me, I'm perfectly happy with this fix at its current state, thank you so much!

I think I am as far as I can go with this for now. I fixed the shadow and lights issue (visible on character screen), though there is a residual light edge effect I can't get rid of. The fix for the black shroud is weird in that it needs correcting in the opposite direction when indoors compared to outside, so I have it set to work outside right now. I'll put it up on Helixblog tomorrow. One last picture for now...

Thank you for the fix from me too. Because of the available 3D Vision fix (and only because of that), I finally purchased the game. Sooo beautyful. Thanks Mike and everyone who was involved!

Hi This game is on 33% off sale atm. I notice it has been patched since the last post here. Has anyone tried this recently to see if the fix still works? Thanks!

I stopped playing since they are talking about an improved mode and was going to wait for that, I did test it a few weeks ago though and it was still working
