Did anyone of you try the new "Scanline-Sync" mode introduced in [url=https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/rtss-rivatuner-statistics-server-download.html]RTSS 7.2[/url] yet?
With it you can disable vertical sync in games but still have no tearing at all! It works by placing the tearing line in a fixed position. Then you can move the tearing line up or down until it's hidden in the vertical blanking interval.
The advantage of this feature is that you can play with minimum input lag but without the tearing which would normally happen when disabling vertical sync.
I tried this feature both in 2D and stereo 3D mode. For 2D mode I had very good results. It was like playing with vertical sync on but without the extra input lag.
For stereo 3D mode I had no success so far. The feature does not seem to work here or I am doing something wrong.

Haven't had any luck getting this working in 3dvision and the games I try crash after a few minutes with it on.
What sort of settings are you using for it in RSS Pauldusler?
I particularly want to use this for tekken 7 because of the inherent input delay vsync adds.

I also still had no luck to make this work in 3D. It only worked for 2D mode so far. Still hoping that I'm just overseeing a hidden option or so.
For my tests I used the default settings in RTSS (Framerate limit 0, Custom Direct3D Off) and just tried different values for the "Scanline sync" option until tearing completely disappeared. For 1080p 1050 seems to often work, for 1440p I often used 1420. And for 2160p it was 2100 or so.

Tekken literally has combo techniques you have to execute to the degree of 13ms (for example) after the first frame of move recovery. So last thing I need is my muscle memory getting thrown off.

@Necropants: I'm using detection level low. Are you running MSI Afterburner as well? In the past I often got bluescreens with it. I got rid of the crashes by setting "User-Mode" to "Kernel-Mode" in "General Settings" tab of MSI Afterburner. Not sure if this instability still exists with User-Mode.
@Joker18: Maybe it's working for you because you use Optimized for Geforce / Passive 3D for your TV?

The Nvidia Control Panel does not give me the option to enable Fast Sync when Stereoscopic 3D is on. Is there a trick to use it in 3D?
In 2D mode it's available and results are indeed similar to Scanline Sync concerning input lag. However as mentioned above: for getting stutter free results you need the double framerate. So for having perfect stutter free 4k @ 60hz with fast sync your graphics card must internally calculate 120 fps. When fps drop below 120 you get a bit of micro stuttering. For Scanline Sync you just need stable 60 fps for achieving perfect results.

Necropants, I dd not say it has more inputlag than Vsync.
It has additional inputlag comparted to Vsync off and FPS Limited ingame.
Pauldusler, could be the reason it's working for me, I do have Passive 3D.
Concerning Fastsync, it does not work as long as 3D is enabled in NvCP. Even if try to force it in Nvidia inspector it still does not work.

I enable fast sync using nvinspector. It has worked in Prototype 2, but that game was riddled with micro-stutter intrinsically; I personally didn't notice much difference as a result.
If this Scanline-Sync works out for s3D, it'll certainly be a boost to competitive / fps type games!

I succeeded to make "State of a Mind" work with scanline sync in 3D mode! Tearing completely vanished and input lag was excellent. However it did only work for 1920x1080 @ 120hz and not for 2560x1440 @ 120hz. My guess is that scanline sync only works if your GPU can produce significantly more FPS than needed for 3D mode. But I'm really not sure.

I admit to making a typo here, and poorly explaining it. I actually meant on the exact 13th frame 13/60 after first frame of recovery. not 13ms. It's more of a timing thing than a speed thing. (but you have to do the move. f,n, df+2 as fast as possible and execute on the exact frame. It' one of the hardest things to do I have ever seen in gaming but it's still possible.) 2nd hit of this combo. If you don't get it exactly right it doesn't launch perfectly as below here.

I made the thing work by setting Scanline Sync to "x/2" which means fps will be limited to half the refresh rate. I just left it to "x" formerly. However when doing the same thing for Witcher 3 or Dishonored in 3D mode I don't get perfect results. Occasionally tearing still appears. I don't know why State of a Mind works better than the other 2 games. Still a lot of things unclear here.
Update: "INSIDE" also works with scanline sync in 3d mode. I think here it is very useful because formerly when enabling vsync the framerate was capped to 30 fps. But when disabling vsync we had tearing in that game. With scanline sync we have both 60 fps and no tearing! Perfect!

I admit to making a typo here, and poorly explaining it. I actually meant on the exact 13th frame 13/60 after first frame of recovery. not 13ms. It's more of a timing thing than a speed thing. (but you have to do the move. f,n, df+2 as fast as possible and execute on the exact frame. It' one of the hardest things to do I have ever seen in gaming but it's still possible.) 2nd hit of this combo. If you don't get it exactly right it doesn't launch perfectly as below here.
