The Surge - 3D Vision Fix
  4 / 7
Yeah make sure to read every instruction as they're very important and running the game as Admin at least once with a fix installed modifies some specific profile settings which are usually needed to make a game work properly in 3D. Also Internet Explorer ? Good one :]
If anybody still hasn't finished this game and wants to play it with all those Gameworks effects on just one gpu, you can change StereoFlagsDX10 to 0x00005000 to make them render in both eyes. AO and SSR might be fixed too but I haven't really checked them. The only major issue I noticed is that some rare shadows are broken but you can get them properly aligned with some lower depth and convergence tweaks until Helifax takes a look at them maybe. I'm still at the beginning of the game so I'm not sure if anything else gets broken with that flag but I suppose I'll play it like this now :]
Latest patch broke the fix. (Some decals) However, Using this flag (awesome find again!) I managed to re-fix the broken decals AND: - indeed all the previously missing effects in single GPU are there - Shadows are broken (some of them) However, further investigating this, I found out that shadows are broken because of a DOUBLE stereo correction! (If somebody reads this and is interested in the 0x0005000 flag). This doesn't appear with flag 0x0004000. If I remove the double correction (applied by the 3D Vision driver in Vertex shaders) all is golden. So, long story shot, I will make a new update to the fix, that anyone can enjoy (even if you don't have SLI) ^_^. So, all configs will be supported, if anyone is still interested in this game ^_^. Come to think about it, Lords of the Fallen has the EXACT same issue, so I wonder ^_^ ;)) (Maybe at some point that one also needs some revisiting ^_^)

Nice to hear you're still interested in this game. This is neat since you can use this flag in certain games to further increase the stereoizing range applied by the 3D vision driver and fix effects that were otherwise unfixable, but on the other hand some effects that were already in stereo need to be changed to mono? So basically the 5000 flag applies a wider stereo correction which was not needed for those shadows. What I'm curious about is why those missing effects work natively on SLI systems. In any case, looking forward to your updated fix :]

Helifax, it's great to see your continuous interest in these games, and the energy with which you keep your fixes up to date. It makes me feel good about the future, when I see you, DHR, Mike etc always revisiting your fixes (as if you owe us anything - you don't!) I'm looking forward to trying games such as The Surge or Original Sin 2, whenever I'll get around to it, and it feels great to know that most likely the fixes will still work by that time. Thank you guys, you're awesome!

Great! I suppose the same will apply to Lords of the Fallen, as you said. However, I don't have the game installed since my SSD died at the beginning of the year, and with it I also lost my save, so I'm not encouraged to install it again :(.

Awesome, I had this game on hold because of the single GPU issue, and I'll buy Lords of the Fallen instantly if you revisit it.. Thanks :)

Lords of the Fallen wasn't that bad! It had one major location where it was broken:) But, when I can I'll revisit that one as well;) Just don't know when exactly:) I'd rather work on new games, but since Shadow of Mordor so far seems to be a no go... there are hardly any games that I am interested in and not attended;)

A few screenshots: - Particles fixed: - Fog - God Rays - Screen Space Reflections - Particles on certain weapons and armor (I took screenshots with the Black Cerberus armor and that weapons especially since they have lots of particles). - One minor thing, some dust/fog can look a bit weird sometimes (not position, but I thing one sampler is still mono somewhere). Except this, is darn perfect:)
Lords of the Fallen wasn't that bad! It had one major location where it was broken:)
Really? I played all the game while I fixed the remaining specular lights and decals issues, and I only saw some smoke as broken (only appearing on one eye). But I may remember wrong.
since Shadow of Mordor so far seems to be a no go...
I assume you're talking about Shadow of War. The actual Shadow of Mordor has some broken decals (white signs on columns/walls), similar to the problem Lords of the Fallen had. I didn't have much time to experiment with it before that fateful day of SSD death. I wonder if the HUD disappearing problem when motion blur and FXAA are disabled keeps happening with the newest drivers (I made a "fix" for that, disabling the effects in the shaders. It's available in the game thread).

But then again, that was like 2 years ago ^_^ So, thank you for revisiting it and fixing it :)
