You may want to consider one of the newer 3D capable 4K UTVs, like Samsung or LG. The key specs are the display's input lag (often very difficult to find), its 3D ghosting performance (also not specified), and the NATIVE 3D modes supported - any 3D input signal is converted to device's native display modes.
240 Hz really does not mean anything - my older plasma VT25 HDTV had a 600 Hz refresh rate (every pixel flashed 10x because of plasma's great decay response of screen/great motion performance).
With HDMI-based devices (every HDTV and UTV), 3DTV Play is the key software app, rather than 3D Vision. Unfortunately, 3DTV Play technology has not been updated beyond the aging HDMI 1.4a spec, and it has a significant performance bug with its 1080p24 mode (one of two HDMI 1.4a 3D modes) - see https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/809649/3d-vision/please-add-hdmi-2-0-support-to-3dtv-play-/post/4461236/#4461236.
I have both Sony and LG UTVs. Discovered very interesting issue with my 4K UB9500 UTV - it does not have a manual 3D format override capability. Instead, it relies solely upon its internal "3D Pattern Recognition" to recognize input format and select appropriate native display modes. Unfortunately, this automated software is not flawless, and fails to recognize SBS format for some games like Wolfenstein The New Order - and it cannot be corrected to use the appropriate format! I have contacted LG tech reps and reported this fundamental issue with an otherwise great HDMI 2.0 display (low ghosting and great display performance in Gaming mode). Note that this LG display would also have difficulty displaying Top/Bottom 3D content, also.

Thats exactly what I'm looking for. So this TV should work well with 3D Vision 2? Would I use the same glasses that I have now? What do you think the quality of 3D be in games and movies? Should I connect it with an HDMI?
Thanks so much for your response.
This is HD version of UHD set that I own as far I know its supports all the 3D modes when the hdmi port is renamed to DVI/PC also hdmi checkerboard is renamed to pixel mode with this TV you will get the full benefit of 3DTV play in its current state and also the TV has hdmi 2.0 so if 3DTV play is updated in the future you can use it 1080@60 full frame mode. If you purchase a Samsung and use HDMI checkerboard you must reverse the eye order when using 3DTV play located in Samsung TV 3D menu options.
I own an older Samsung HD TV UN46C7000 which worked fine with 3DTV. I would download the manual of any TV before you purchase it.
Most e-trailers have a 30 day no questions asked return policy before purchasing I would ask.

Any HDTV or UTV will work with 3DTV Play (3D Vision does not support HDMI connection), using the display's own 3D glasses. Be sure to use high-speed HDMI cable (often labelled as supporting 4K and 3D). 3DTV Play supports 720p60 and (flawed NVIDIA) 1080p24 full-frame display.
Reduced resolution SBS, TB, and checkerboard (Samsung only) 60 Hz display modes are often supported by these displays, as well. However, 3DTV Play does not appear to support these alternate display modes, so TriDef's great, but stagnant Ignition product must be used. I encourage anyone interested in HDTV/UHDTV gaming to contact NVIDIA Customer Care to fix 3DTV Play!

Would you mind trimming your signature down please? It's almost an entire screen of scrolling each time, and there's a lot of unnecessary spaces, as well as unnecessary information (no-one needs to know the model of your headphones or DVD burner, or the fact that your video cards are SLI-ready).

Yep, if you want to do bluray 3D movies, you are far better off to get a blu-ray player instead of jacking around with 3D Vision. Much more reliable, no drivers to break your playback.

You'll find that the best setups are 720p, which sounds terrible, but in practice gives you a better experience than 4K TVs. Depends upon how close you need to sit, but if you can sit 10 feet away from a 120 inch screen, you'll be amazed at how good it is.
ThirdEyientist, I just went through something similar so let me clear some things up and I do have a suggestion for you. You will not be able to use 3dvision with a television, Nvidia gimped us with their 3dtv play software and you will need to purchase that to use with a TV. It uses the TVs built in system and generally will only work with ACTIVE systems, not passive (though there is a hack). That does limit the sets that you can consider. Keep in mind that 3dTV play generally only lets you game in 3D @ 720p, I personally find this acceptable but it isn't as good as a dedicated 3dvision monitor. You should also look for a set that will handle 4:4:4 chroma. That means it will display uncompressed color/luminance data and in my opinion is a necessity. Without it text and other details will be lost in many situations. I've tried with and without and having a set that will do 4:4:4 chroma is a must IMHO. You of course also need something with low input lag and that can be a pain to find as well. And now for the suggestion... For about your price range (they are on sale for $1700 as of now) you can pick up a 58" Panasonic AX800 set. It will work with 3dtv play (and tri-def if you'd like), has low input lag (30-37ms depending on test), has BOTH a displayport and HDMI 2.0 port capable of 3184x2160 @ 60Hz with 4:4:4 chroma, and generally just works great as a monitor (game mode can be enabled independent of other settings). After going around in circles for weeks it is about the only set that supports all of the technologies at the same time. Samsung sets unfortunately won't do 4:4:4 chroma (as of now, the older versions would but are hard to find).
Good luck!

Thanks for compressing your signature. That was getting to me too. :->
The current winner in the projector sweepstakes for 3D is the W1070, or W1080ST for short throw. Especially because you are interested in blu-ray the 1080p will work better for blu-ray playback.
(Other people, please correct me if current best projector on market is something else, I still run H5360.)
Because of Nvidia madness, the 1080p is not used in 3D gaming, you have to run at 720p instead. Otherwise gaming is at 1080p@24 which is usually suboptimal.
That's for 3D TV Play via HDMI. If you can find older frame-sequential 3D Vision Ready projectors they can be easier to set up and use. (Like H5360, or HD66. The H5360BD apparently runs at 120Hz too)
All of these are sub-$1000.

Yep, if you want to do bluray 3D movies, you are far better off to get a blu-ray player instead of jacking around with 3D Vision. Much more reliable, no drivers to break your playback.

I've thought about it some, but I know very little about projectors. What would you suggest in the $1500 price range?
Asus VG248QE 24-Inch LED-Lit Monitor X3
WASABI MANGO UHD400 REAL 4K X1
Titan X X2
Corsair RM Series 850 Watt
Asus Sabertooth Z87 LGA 1150 Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz
Noctua 6 Dual Heatpipe
Windows 10 Home
Intel Core i7-4770K Quad-Core Desktop Processor 3.5 GHZ 8 MB
Good luck!
Thanks for the reply. I'll read up on the Panasonic.... I do like the fact that it has a DP connection. Thats the first tv I've seen with that option.
