How do you tweak settings for anaglyph?
I have the 3d Vision discovery anaglyph glasses. The 3D is sort of there but it needs tweaking. There is blue leaking through the red filter. There is little help from the Nvidia 3D Discovery setup wizard which failes when I select that my left eye can see the triangle and the octagon. There are a lot of variables here and no help on where to begin. What should the monitor's settings be on? What should the Nvidia color settings be in the control panel? What is the step by step process in tweaking the settings to get the color filters where they need to be?

It can be changed in the registry, but I can't recall exactly where. Searching the forums would probably find you an answer.

If you have the 3D Vision version specifically, you shouldn't need to change the registry values. In general, that's for different versions of anaglyph glasses, with different tints. Is your monitor calibrated? The assumption is that the monitor will be color calibrated, and if the monitor is way off there is no way for the software to know. At least a reasonable start: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/calibrate-your-display If that's not quite good enough, I'd suggest looking at a 3D picture, then tweaking your red and blue manually in the NVidia CP to minimize the crosstalk.

Excellent. Thank you. I will go with your suggestions. My monitor inst calibrated specific to anything other than the way I prefer things to look which is probably not close to the way they are supposed to look.

I know it is years later, but i still feel i should say something. It is just highly possible the eyes itself don't filter the way they should. Atleast i seem to have that problem... Seeing as how everything was original and adjusted accordingly, there shouldn't be any issues. That and it has nothing to do with software and calibrations and so on. But i had trouble seeing the 3D effects just as i have with nVidia anaglyph/glasses. (Not implying that calibrating colors won't help, they probably will. Seeing as how the issue is that one color isn't filtered enough or it filters too much.) P.s. i just tried that, calibrating the screen. To me with no success, so i'm looking further... I had been asking Nvidia for years to change from their red/blue to red/cyan, because you could not find red/blue glasses anywhere. They finally did and when I tested it on my 4K 2D display, I had close to 100% extinction. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/976624/ In the old days, prior to 3D Vision Discover, you could adjust the colors to match any type of filter/lens. There was a palette in the control panel, that allowed the mixing of colors to obtain any hue desired. Amazon and others sold red/blue glasses, but the idiots that made them, would never use the correct blue tint, thus they were terrible. Now that red/cyan is available, it's much easier to find glasses that work. I even had the same results from the cheap glasses that came with Spy Kids 3D. They work fantastic. Side note about colour calibration : Calibrating your monitor for colour accuracy will not produce the correct result with anaglyph. This is physics : - anaglyph is based on separation of RGB channels, each of them with distinct wavelengths. - colour calibration is based on mixing the RGB channels in order to compensate for the poor manufacturing and settings of the display. (Using wavelengths from other colours to balance the end result in the viewer's brain) When you want to use anaglyph 3D, you'll want the colour output to be 100% controlled by the 3D driver, and any other calibration tool (software or hardware) to be switched off.
