Elite Dangerous Fix
  13 / 31
Just a heads up that I've finally been putting in some time with this one. So far completed all the training missions (well, except for the advanced combat one, because I still suck! lol) and fixed everything that was present, which includes: -Specular highlights/reflections off metallic surfaces -Mining laser trail (saw these mentioned before) -Shields causing attacked ship to appear transparent -Fog layer around asteroids (I'm thinking this is was you might be referring to as the RES site?) causing asteroids to appear in one eye only This is in addition to all other halo producing effects (stars, planets, etc), all starfields and nebula pushed to infinity (without any necessary tweaking), and of course, my shadows fix. Basically it's completely 3D ready for the training portions, at least. Another good thing is that it seems that my convergence mod so far works across the board with other vessels, but it does have a few nuances, so it's going to be a completely optional/preferential thing for most people. Now that I've done all the training, I think I'm ready to finally jump in the game and start exploring, and of course I'll continue to fix whatever broken effects I come across.

Well if you need help with the game I can meet you on my Guilds TS server.. they have an Elite channel if you want the info I can PM you the details.. The thing with the rez sites was the fog layer when looking at edge towards either top or bottom it appear in one eye and not the other.. when in the fog it looks ok I guess but when near the edges and looking sideways at it you see the fog layer go above where it is in the other eye lloks really weird in 3D.. I would also love to get a look at the mining laser fix as I worked on that for a bit but could not figure out what to do ;) Let me also point out the WhiteDwarfs need to be fixed at the level of the long vapor trails coming out from it.. I did fix the small ones and the sun itself just could not get the long vapor trail fixed.... Thasnk you DJ..

First off, many thanks for your work on this to everyone involved. I'm just letting you know that in the current version on the Helix Mod page (EDHorizonsv18.3win64bit.rar) Hunting is still enabled in d3dx.ini. Regards, zytrel.

well I cant access the S3 amazon DL hosting site will be a while.. but if you go into the d3dx.ini file and look for the line that stays Hunting change it from a 1 to a zero and save the file you should be good..

It's not a problem for me. But you might put a note on the site and release the fixed one as minor new version. The performance drop was quite noticable for me, and others might not think of checking the d3dx file. Regards, zytrel.

[quote="The_Nephilim"]Well I found my access to the FTP it seems down at the moment tho was probally why I was having issues.. It's essentially never down, and there is never any maintenance. It's not as clunky as standard FTP, which is part of the reason we like to use it. Working fine for me. Just checked. You have to use the weird amazon web address, you cannot get there by going directly to amazon.com. If you are having access problems, it has something to do with your setup. Give me more details. Edit: Cross post. I use Chrome, and it works well.

Did IE ever work for anything? :) But to stay on topic, just a minor one, I noticed I can no longer see the star approaching when jumping to another system. It was fine with the last version with Johnathon's changes applied. Regards, zytrel.
