3D TV Play broken since 376.33? Information Gathering Thread
I've had a couple of recent parties ruined by what appear to be bugs in the 3D Vision driver, but I haven't seen other mentions of it and I need a little more info before I bug nvidia about it, so I'm wondering if anyone else has hit these or similar issues?
This is specific to 3D TV Play - I don't *think* (need to confirm) HDMI Checkerboard suffers from these issues (but that only helps for DX11 titles). Anything listed below as 376.33 also occurs in all more recent drivers including 390.65.
Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing Transformed:
- 373.06 + default profile: Both eyes render, but water broken
- 373.06 + assigned to Prototype profile: Works
- 373.06 + default profile + StereoProfile=1 + StereoUseMatrix=1: Works
- 376.33 + default profile: Both eyes render, but water broken
- 376.33 + assigned to Prototype profile: One eye black
- 376.33 + default profile + StereoProfile=1 + StereoUseMatrix=1: One eye black
Tekken 7:
- 373.06 + anything: Broken 3D (probably missing profile, not a concern), but no green flicker
- 376.33: Wrong mode message
- 376.33 + full_screen=1 + refresh_rate=60 + width=1280 + height=720: green flicker + wrong colours
- 376.33 + 3DMigoto 1.2.71 + refresh_rate=60: Works
3DMigoto gives two solutions for Tekken 7 (force the refresh rate, or use HDMI Checkerboard and the SBS shader), but at the moment my only solution for Sonic is downgrading the driver, but in doing so I break Tekken 7 and other games, and ideally I don't want to be switching drivers with guests over.
Ideally I want to find a game that engages 3D, but is clearly broken without any tweaks in a way that only happens on 3D TV Play (not regular 3D Vision) so that I can point nvidia at it and not have them blame our tools - Sonic is black in one eye after changing the profile, but not before, and Tekken 7 doesn't use a HDMI 3D compatible mode out of the box, and that green flicker could conceivably be related to 3DMigoto's full screen forcing code, especially since we don't see it when not forcing full screen, so I don't have enough evidence to confirm that is a driver bug and not one of ours.

I'm on 368.39 and Transformed is just as you described, I do not have Tekken to test. (tested with 3D Vision)
Looking at my extracted profiles after a fresh install, this game does not have an official profile from Nvidia.
Also looking at Helixblog, I see that it is specified to assign it to the Prototype Profile.
REQUIRED INFORMATION:
Retail Box version: This fix will not work unless you rename ASN_App_PcDx9_Final.exe to prototype.exe.
Steam/Origin version: This fix will not work unless you download nvidia inspector and remove ASN_App_PcDx9_Final.exe from ASN_App_PcDx9_Final.exe's profile [Or sonic all stars transformed]. Then add it to prototype's profile. If you need more detailed instructions CLICK HERE.
edit: I did not experience the one eye issue, so I can't confirm that, but I've been sticking with 368.39 for a long time, because it works good with my system.
Perhaps someone using 376.33 can confirm this issue.

I forgot that I have this game, after entering game's Steam page, I saw that I already have this. :p
If it helps, tested the game with a 4K 3DTV (with EDID override) using 384.76 driver at 3840x2160:
Assigned to Prototype profile, with 3DV fix game works without an issue, no broken effects as far as I can see. Played the Oceanview map, water looks correct, there's no "One eye black" issue.
