I already bought/have 3D Vision and 3D Play, but both want me to buy some hardware.

What model # is your 3D HDTV? What operating system and GPU driver are you using? Are you saying that have/own a 3D Vision kit? http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-geforce-3d-vision2-wireless-glasses-kit-us.html Are you saying that you've purchased 3DTV Play for $40? http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-overview.html

I purchased 3DTV Play, did not get a 3D Vision kit, but why would I need one? I already have the glasses that came with the TV (Samsung 3D Smart TV UN55D8000)

Perhaps, you should contact Nvidias customer service/technical support. BTW if you are using Windows Vista, support was dropped after driver 306 or there abouts. It's in the driver notes. Drivers earlier than somewhere around 310 only supported 3D HDTVs that were on the supported list. Somewhere around that driver or later, all inclusive support was added for HDMI 1.4 Displays. So, without knowing what driver or OS you are using.....

I'm using Windows 8.1 (Not exactly the best, but whatever.) with the latest drivers from Ge force Experience. When I try to enable 3DTV Play, 3D Vision launches? I'm confused.

Like Libertine said (he has a Samsung 3D HDTV as well), try checkerboard mode. Look through your owner's manual, you might need to rename the HDMI input or use a specific port. I seem to recall Libertine saying that Samsung called checkerboard something else in the manual. I've read posts here about people having problems with W8.1, no idea myself. GL

This shouldn't have any bearing on your ability to activate 3d, but you should know that 8.1 has a lot of problems with 3d in general, and we all recommend Win7 or Win8.
