Blank screen in SLI mode
Hi, I am new to the forums and i am having an issue with my sli'd 280s in 3d mode. The problem is that i am getting a blank screen shortly after loading a game when sli is enabled. Im not getting a crash or a BOSD, my computer stays on but i have no display. Sometimes it happens immediatly after loading the game and sometimes it happens 5 mintues into playing. If i disable sli in the nvidia control panel i can play in 3d for hours on end. I am using the newest driver the 1.07. My cpu is overclocked from 2.66 to 3.2, it is a q9400.

Is this normal? I have no problem disabling sli in the nvidia control panel, its really no big deal, but I was curious to see if anyone had any suggestions? As of right now i absolutely cannot run 3d mode in sli. In addition to the blank screen i am also getting a red light on the 280 thats in the main slot.

RMA the card with the red light. It's the indicator it's failed.

Hmm... thats weird because i can play all my games in sli with 3d turned off. But as soon as, or shortly after I enable 3d by hitting the button on the transmitter my screen goes blank and i have to do a hard shutdown.

Im gonna make sure my screen is in 120 hz after i switch over to sli, maybe thats what it was. Ill report back here as soon as i figure out what the problem is. If i have to rma a card i have to rma a card, thems the brakes.

So after running many many tests it turns out my power supply went. I have/had a zalman 850w. This psu has two pci-e 8 pins and two modular pci-e 6 pins. Well both the modular six pins went. I tried both cards using two 8 pins and they both play nice. I can only run one 280 with two of the non-modular 8 pins, its really not that bad and i am in no way complaining. :D My corsair 1000hx will be here tomorrow, thank god. My computer has been finakie with bsod's and blank screens ever since i went sli, which was back in OCTOBER! LOL! Needless to say im glad i figured out what the problem was, thank you nivida 3d! :D
