Annoying 3D Vision + StarCraft II Problem StarCraft II immediately renables 3D Vision after Ctrl+T/D
This post is for nVidia Software Engineers or someone who can forward this problem to the appropriate people (if of course this problem isn't only relevant to myself):
Hello, I have an EVGA GTX 580 SC paired with the latest software drivers of 270.61. I clean installed 270.61 by uninstalling my previous 3D Vision software, running a driver sweeper + ticking the 'Clean Install' box, so that means I have the latest available 3D Vision software drivers, along with the normal graphics drivers for the card.
My problem is just as the title indicates. If I load up StarCraft II without going into nVidia Control Panel (NCP) and not disabling 3D Vision (unticking the 'Enable Stereoscopic 3D' under 3D Settings), the game will not allow me to simply press Ctrl+T to disable 3D Vision for that game. It will disable stereoscopic for a very brief moment of about one second before automatically reverting itself back to 3D Vision enabled mode. This is a very annoying issue that I have been experiencing since the 257.66 (could be wrong) driver that I figured would be fixed but sadly has not, which is why I'm making this thread. I do not like using 3D Vision for StarCraft II as I prefer the higher FPS that 'shields' me from the inevitable FPS drop under particularly busy scenes with large numbers of units.
I don't know if any other users are experiencing this so I do not know if this is an issue that is only occuring on my system, or perhaps is just a problem via drivers or the game itself. Being that nVidia develops their software and has a close knit relationship with Blizzard (always an nVidia Panel at Blizzcon), I figure I have 2/3 shot in having this corrected. I am led to believe that this issue isn't unique to my system/configuration so perhaps I can get the ball rolling for someone to begin investigatng this issue as I of course know nothing about software engineering or the inner-workings of the software nor have any control over it :P

Same thing happens to me. I like how it works in Crysis 2, was hoping it would be the same in Starcraft 2 (i.e. Ctrl+T to toggle on/off 3D Vision automatically results in 3D being enabled/disabled in the Options menu of the game).

Hi
This is expected behavior. Blizzard controls 3D inside StarCraft II.

Have you tried disabling the 3D support from the game Options and not with CTRL + T or hitting the button on the IR emitter?

You know, I tried checking the options (3D Driver Off) and didn't see any Stereoscopic 3D Function mentioned. However, to test your suggestion, I enabled 3D Vision in nVidia Control Panel and checked the graphics settings. Well, what do you know?!

Without 3D Vision on (the way I play SC since I play MP and the FPS isn't as high as i'd like), no such option appears:

If I hadn't had asked this question, I would've never known about this 'hidden' option. Obviously if you turn on the 3D Vision Driver, it's forcing ALL GAMES to have 3D ON, so why does this option ONLY APPEAR in 3D mode? I appreciate Blizzard implementing this built in tool but, I would've never known how to access it haha. At least make it visible in 3D Vision Driver OFF and make it say "Driver does not support stereoscopic 3D/Or is Disabled" to let me know there's an option/preview tool haha. Besides, it would better market the ability to play StarCraft II in 3D!
