LOVING Mass Effect 1 in 3d! But, will Mass Effect 2 be as good since it is rated FAIR?
2 / 2
hey guys. I love that you two are here. Tritosine in particular has been around when I felt like this community was pretty small and needed someone to explain things. I use the viewsonic pj6531w projector or whatever the model number is. I know im close...just forget it.
Anyway, yeah I use some 120 dollar projection screen. Don't know exactly what it is but I'm really happy with my setup in 3d. Yeah, i HAVE to have desktop and in game set at same resolution to avoid the warning message. IF you can tell me how to "remove" the warning message from ever appearing...i'll be sure to follow your instructions.
on a side note, I really hope that most upcoming games follow bad company, batman etc and are MADE with 3d "compatability" in mind. It is just 10 times better.

Tritosine rocks, he is the one who discovered how to fix the lens flare issue in Mass Effect 2. Mass Effect 2 has a near 3D ready rating but the dude at NVIDIA messed up the profile with a horrible horrible halo effect. He probably spent a few hours on it then gave up. WHAT A GREAT PROGRAMMER!
So the warning screen doesn't go away even though the 3D is working? Hmmm there has to be some explanation for that or it's just a flat out horrible, horrible bug.
Hmm.... You could hex edit the dll's and remove the text, but you'll still have the dark rectangle that covers the bottom of the screen. This however is not noticeable since our eyes are trained from a young age to block out black strips from the top and bottom while watching movies. I strongly recommend you try it. If you are interested in hex editing your dll's i can show you how in a risk free way, it just involves being thorough.
What's the exact warning message? I'll look it up. Maybe you can even send me your dll's i'll hex edit them for you and send it back.
One of the reasons i'm so curious is because I want to get a projector too but there is no way in heck I want to be spammed with more BS when it shouldn't be there.

Yeah, the issue here is that I'm not NEARLY as tech savy as you guys with all of this. My persistence and years of gaming lets me get SOME things done with tons of time...but I don't edit these things that often.
I guess my question is this....can i just keep doing what ive been doing an enjoy mass effect 2 with your tweaks? I don't mind that i have to have my desktop AND game at the 1200x700 resolution. I can still tweak and do what I need to to get the pretty good result right? ALso, i can't tell you how much im loving ME1 and i will be SO thoroughly disappointed if me2 is so bad in 3d. PLEASE tell me that with the tweaks and things this halo effect is not that bad? Is the halo in EVERY scene of every second you play? Just curious.

The halo is noticeable about 50% of the time. I play with 10% depth and up the convergence up to a point where it's comfortable. I just played a few hours ago actually it was good.

me2 is easily better in 3d , shame about their design decisions though. Why would you want to run the projector at non native res? Run it at native res and enable at least 4x AA.
(Helifax solved the "blasted" lens flare, but he disappeared , but I tracked him down and interrogated for you /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> )
