Fable 3
  1 / 3
I just wanted to let anyone that is interested in this game that Fable 3 works really well in 3D Vision from the hour or so that I have played it using the 275.27 drivers. Shadows render correctly, nameplates are 3D, sky is at correct depth, no annoying halos around objects like the first Fable, and the 3D effect looks pretty good. I saw the warning message about some objects and effects rendering incorrectly but haven't noticed anything like that so far. I don't understand why the game is only rated as "Fair" - it should be "Excellent" as far as I am concerned. While it isn't the graphic showcase that Witcher 2 is, the game runs great with no performance issues.

Great news, I don't know why Nvidia has some weird ratings on their list, I don't think Dragon Age 2, Lost Planet 2 or Crysis 2 should be on fair either.

I'll get this once I'm done with The Witcher 2, this game is so amazing in 3d

Tested Fable 3 with latest nVidia Beta drivers:

3D Vision Surround Support The game looks very good in 3D vision Surround. The game is rated as FAIR, but I do believe this is because they haven't updated the profile. The game should receive at least EXCELLENT

Now the tricky part: From the IN-GAME menu you can not activate the surround options. Instead navigate to the installation folder. In there you will find the "PCVideoOptionsApplet" folder. Use the "PCVideoOptionsApplet.exe" file and select the desired resolution. That is it! The game now launches in Surround

Well...This should be 100% supported since the game is advertised as being 3D supported. Not sure why it is "Fair" either...

The main selling point is it is in 3D on PC.

This is great news. Fable 3 isn't out here yet (Scotland), but I have it pre-loaded to play some co-op with a friend with. Both the Witcher and Fable 3 working great in 3D in 1 week =) Fantastic.

Played some more of this last night, the 3d is excellent, one of the best I have seen to date. Framerate is not as great as I would have expected as it's not a graphical powerhouse, typical of a port, but still runs good with maxed settings. There are some character close ups that are a bit messed up, as they come too close and are right in your face, but very minor issue. Although, one close up did give a laugh, early in the game the Prince was talking to his girlfriend when the game goes in for a close up of her. I thought her boobs were going to put my eyes out. A good diversion until they fix the Witcher 2 3d framerate issues.

I think Nvidia needs to find someone else to rate their games. Some of the ratings they have listed don't make any sense to me but then maybe I am just too much of a 3D snob.

Quite strange:
The Witcher 2 - "3DVsion ready": (at the moment) only playable when You deinstall the 3D drivers...
Fable 3 - "Fair": To me excellent and the best thing that can happen: flawless 3D AND the freedom to manually adjust the convergence settings.
Even if a driver update fixes the FPS problem with The Witcher 2 there still will be the limitation with the locked convergence settings /mad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
So I hope that there will be more games that are "playable in 3D" (Fable 3) instead of "3DVision ready" games (The Witcher 2)!

Tipp: Sometimes I had problems with the reflections of water surfaces. Changing the settings for water quality removes this problem. It doesn't matter which setting You choose as simply changing removes the problem.

In some outdoor areas I had low FPS. But this is obviously because of my old GTX 260 being overtstrained. Switching off shadows helped.

Hello everyone, excuse my English. Today I tried Fable 3. Fable 3 is a great game. I have some problems with 3D. Many scenes are perfect but some (especially in close-ups or when there is plenty of light) I see some split edges. This leads me to a disturbance at the sight while I play. With other games this problem did not happen. I read that there is a way to manually adjust the convergence settings but I find no option that allows me to do this. I installed the 270.61 driver now because I had to uninstall the 275.27 driver because dragon age 2 crash with these drivers. You advised me to install the 275.27 to play Fable 3 with 3D vision? May depend on what the problem? Nvidia will release something to fix it?

I have been having some framerate issues also, mostly in towns. I think it's just a porting/optimization issue as I am running dual 580's and the framerate dips should not be happening. Two of my cpu cores are running 80%+ the other two at about 50%, both GPU's typically 80%+ also, way overkill for what this game should need. The 3d effect is really impressive, the water takes on this 3d effect that actually makes you feel like your really standing in it, have never seen that before in a game. 3d like this makes it really hard to go back to playing anything in 2d.

This might help people with framerate issues in 3d. Turn off the in-game v-sync option as it caps the framerate to 30fps. Havent had to chance to test 3d myself, but enabling triple buffering in the nvidia control panel along with v-sync (but I think thats auto enabled for 3d anyway) fixes framerate issues. There seems to be some bug also in outdoor areas if you have tree detail set to high

--ive also set the slider for "effects" e.g. bloom, aa, blur to off.

By the way.... Fable III works very well in 3D Vision Surround! and I highly recommended it!!!!!!! So far I have not seen any problems regarding the 3D aspect...The experience is "heart stopping"!!! So any of you guys who owns a 2D Surround or even better, 3D Surround GIVE IT A TRY!!!

PS: you cannot activate the Surround mode from in-game. Instead navigate to the installation folder. In there you will find the "PCVideoOptionsApplet" folder. Use the "PCVideoOptionsApplet.exe" file and select the desired resolution. That is it! The game now launches in Surround.
