Guys, played again for a couple of hours and every 5-10 minutes I got a game freeze. Alt+tab helped, but as I said broke the shadows, which was fixed only through a quickload.
This freezing is quite frustrating (the game just pauzes and doesn't resume until alt+tab or ctrl+alt+del), I even tried re-installing, but with no effect. I thought my GPU could be overheating, so I tried setting the fan speed to a 100% to test, still no results. Has anyone experienced something similar. I am using a couple of mods for the hud, ui and Geralts hair. I've been using them before, but didn't experience such issues.
Don't have this issue with Witcher 2 V1.35 and nVidia driver 280.26. 3d is now perfect and has good performance outside and inside buildings. Just amazing now!

Try lowering TextureMemoryBudget. Yours is 600 which I think means 1200 for us 3D people. On the witcher tweaker the uber setting's TextureMemoryBudget is only 400! I think I read it could cause stuttering.
Oh, why dont you briefly post your specs in your sig? :)

Just posted it in my signature, I could try lowering Tex memory, although these settings haven't caused me any problems before (wen't through the whole first chapter without a freeze). I will test tonight and post again.

A latecomer to the 'thanks for fixing it' party! If I had checked back earlier I would have been playing it last week!
Anyway, it works beautifully in 3D now, though I too am getting the occasional freeze. A quick trip to task manager and back, and it's sorted - it unfreezes completely. I have no idea if this is related to 3D at all, but thought it might be worth mentioning.
The game looks absolutely incredible in 3D, and I actually find the game setting of 3d just perfect for my eyes.

Gigabyte EP45 boards are fidgety with memory modules running faster than 800mhz. I would suggest you downclock your RAM to 800Mhz. (This should not affect your machine's performance at all unless you are into number-crunching some n-body simulations).

Thanks for the ideas, but I doubt I'll be doing any memory downclocking. I've discovered that I'm able to significantly reduce the occasional lock-up by disabling AF from the Nvidia panel. Probably a further reduction of the memory budget will help permanently, but I really do notice blurrier textures when reducing below 600mb. I guess this is the game where I finally see the benefits of having 2gb of VRAM vs. having only 1.

I have witcher 2 patch 1.35 , 3d vision , 200hz monitor. The game has incredibly awful ghosting in the shadows that disappears only if depth is decreased from the emitter all the way down to 0. Even 2nd bar is unplayable there is something very wrong with the shadows.
nvidia driver 280.26
I have tried all game settings from low - high end and disabled / enabled most stuff but I haven't managed to find a solution. Any thoughts?

I´m playing now this game, but I am going to stop and wait until patch 2.0 release. The engine of this game is poor and I must lower the resolution to 1280x800 to have "decent" framerates. But also player movements/animations and control is jerky and not natural. The combat system is poor in my opinion, better than the horrible combat in The Witcher 1, but far away to be fun, and animations are not smooth. Good graphics but poor movement/animations, poor combat, and poor gameplay.
Also need a fix to make possible to read subtitules using stereo without kill the eyes. Need a bigger font and a background black wall to make it easy. But I am surprised that two months after the release we "can play" it in 3D (I thought never would happend).

Not sure where the root of that problem lies (or if other games run fine for you) but if you have an AMD combo you might find the information in this thread useful: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=198407

oh my, some People never stop complaining...
if your machine can't handle full settings, you should lower them. For a 3D display with Ubersampling, you'd need a 590 or two 580 in SLI to get decent frame rates.
That doesn't mean that the engine is poor, it just gives people with strong hardware the option to actually make use of it.
Why do people always expect that a game has to run with highest settings on their hardware and if it doesn't, it's automatically poor?
Also, I can't see anything jerky about the animation. Maybe there is something wrong on your setup, but then I'd recommend to make a movie and publish that, so we can compare it to our own experience. This way we'd be able to see whether it's a real problem on your machine or just your own perception.

I'm using GTS450s in SLI and I can play with maxed settings with the exeption of Ubersampling and I have shadows and lights turned down to 'high' instead of 'ultra'.
I do second the fact that while I'm having fun with the game, it's not quite as epic as I was expecting... Combat is a little dicey, and I'm still encountering some pretty serious sound related bugs and one controller related bug that locks up my machine completely.

Other games run ok the only game that suffers from similar ghosting is mass effect 2

My focus is not on Geralt, i look through him.
With this setting its a bit harder to focus Geralt, but when a fight starts the cam zooms out and its just perfect for me.

Also need a fix to make possible to read subtitules using stereo without kill the eyes. Need a bigger font and a background black wall to make it easy. But I am surprised that two months after the release we "can play" it in 3D (I thought never would happend).

Not sure where the root of that problem lies (or if other games run fine for you) but if you have an AMD combo you might find the information in this thread useful: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=198407

But I am surprised that two months after the release we "can play" it in 3D (I thought never would happend).

oh my, some People never stop complaining...
if your machine can't handle full settings, you should lower them.
I can read the subtitles just fine, btw.

I do second the fact that while I'm having fun with the game, it's not quite as epic as I was expecting... Combat is a little dicey, and I'm still encountering some pretty serious sound related bugs and one controller related bug that locks up my machine completely.
... but definintely having fun!

I have an intel rig but I will check out the thread anyway thanks.
Other games run ok the only game that suffers from similar ghosting is mass effect 2
