Samsung UN46D6400 Support No 3d vision - screen not supported?
I just purchased a Samsung UN46D6400 LED TV, and it is 3d capable. I read the compatible 3D HDTV screens and mine is not listed. I installed the most recent drivers and upgraded the screen firmware to its latest version, with no avail.

Is there going to be support for this device or is it a lost cause, because I'd really like to use this screen as my main with 3D capabilities. Please respond ASAP so I can change the monitor and get something that will be compatible with my current setup. Thanks.

Running a GTX 470 with 285.62

Screen info is attached, and EDID revision is 1.3

Thanks for the help.

Adrian

This post shows the value of this 3D forum, to stop people from buying the wrong 3DTV.
The only full framerate/native resolution 3DTVs are some of the samsungs plus the Mits DLPs. The xxD6400 does not support 3D gaming because samsung all but dropped checkerboard mode in 2011.

roller11,

I was able to successfully run the setup wizard with the latest nvidia drivers (not beta) and Samsung firmware, on my UN46D6400. Viewing the compatibility list shows the UN40D6400 as a compatible device, as well as the UA46D6400. These both fall in the same 6400 lineage, but is lost in translation for my screen.

I was planning on giving your EDID mod a crack at it, but am a little skeptical... any suggestions?

roller11,

I found a Sony KDL-46NX720 for sale. It looks like it is compatible with the current drivers, so it must support CB mode... my biggest thing is the comparison of both screen in terms of 3d. Since it is a different brand, have you seen the comparison of the sony compared to a Samsung UN46D7000? If I can still get my hands on a D7000, I'll opt for that, but as of right now, the availability of the 46NX720 is calling my name... just need some user inputs on which to go for.

Thanks again for your help.
