Hmm.. couldn't it be that main difference is only in more aggressive overdrive on Acer?
That might actually be a bigger negative on the Acer actually, the overaggressive overdrive which can lead to overdrive ghosting. Overdrive ghosting is when a pixel produces a weird off-color, looks like shader artifacting but its when the pixel can't switch between two colors fast enough and instead of producing the proper 2 colors (certain light/dark combos probably), it just gives up and produces some off-color. Its similar to the overdrive ghosting some older LCDs exhibited with fast motion but in this case, the pixels are ghosting in-place while trying to switch between two colors.
Here's a good picture of it from 3D Vision blog's review of the Acer: http://3dvision-blog.com/acer-aspire-gd245...monitor-review/
You can see it very clearly if you watch the 3D Vision slide show with that same Tomb Raider scene after setting up 3D Vision.
The big difference however is that with the Alienware, you can completely eliminate Overdrive ghosting by reducing Contrast to 45 or so. This also greatly reduces light on dark ghosting, but the obvious trade off is brightness and contrast. Well worth it reducing it however, as its a really huge difference in the amount of ghosting, particularly the fluorescent looking off-colors resulting from Overdrive ghosting.
For my part, I love my AW2310. Having 2 side-by-side with a 3rd display really had me thinking about going 3D Vision Surround for a second lol. At first I was slightly disappointed by the backlight bleed, the 2D text and color accuracy (came from an S-PVA), black levels and viewing angles along with some of the overdrive ghosting I described above, but my 2nd panel that arrived on RMA (Rev A01) has solved almost all of the problems. I think a lot of the issues like backlight bleed and black uniformity were more an issue with my original panel. I think the MSRP is a bit high at $500, but I got mine with a coupon + BCB for ~$425 shipped and its been as low as $375 shipped with a 30% Dell coupon. For that much I think its worth the price over the Acer. The Acer is also pretty cheap though, you can get it for $370 and 13% BCB at Tiger Direct for something like $325 shipped, which is a great price for the budget conscious person who wants to check out 3D Vision.

ALIENWARE IT IS THEN! So far the feedback I have been getting about the Alienware seems pretty positive, and I like the fact there is a new Revision it shows there also combating the problems that exist and as ExpL0 mentioned who doesn't want something Alienware. Thanks for the feedback and you guys are welcome to continue Debating/Arguing. Hehe.

about the alienware this is what an italian customer said
"I do not recommend explicitly.
The monitor is unable to display homogeneous color across the viewing area. Colors are more saturated on top and less saturated down ... so that an orange hue becomes almost yellow when moved down.
I heard Dell for this problem and after several test and a replacement we concluded that was a fault of the monitor that inexplicably features a single lamp at the bottom! And that makes the problems mentioned.
Finally I was repaid recognizing the project flaw."

The monitors are pretty equal when it comes down to it. Your best bet is to find as many reviews as possible and make your own educated opinion. Just as the case is in game or movie reviews, it's not a good idea to make your choice based on just one person's experiences. That is why I am a frequent visitor to sites like Game Rankings and Rotten Tomatoes. I don't see the problem on my monitor that the Italian reviewer did and in the end, I think you will be happy with either choice. The people that seem to complain about these monitors the most are those new to the 3D experience that are expecting the quality of a IPS monitor for these. I think we are in for a long wait for 120Hz IPS 3D monitors. We don't even have true 120Hz televisions out yet and I hate how descriptions for these mislead customers into thinking they are true 120Hz-capable.

you can decrease contrast on the acer to 100% eliminate ghosting by using the service menu and modifying the R G B settings for one of the profiles, then just switch to that profile

so the acer is still the best choice i think.
