Hi all. After watching Avatar today and seeing just how good 3d vision looks (Id always thought it was just a gimmick) I have decided to get a 3d setup for my games. I have just 1 quiestion though before i place my order.
when I buy the kit and the monitor to go with it. Can I Use that monitor as my primary screen and also run 2 normal 60hz screens. One on my existing GTX275 and another on an old 7900GTX?

well i'm running my 3d samsung monitor, which i don't recommend due to the ghosting @ the top 20% of the screen, and am running 3 monitor's with th2g for my racing simulator. i'm not sure how it would work plugging the other 2 monitor's you got in the 2 gpu's but i know its def possible w/ th2g or dh2g

I wouldnt be using the other 2 for games. Just general stuff. This ghosting is that with the Samsung SM2233RZ? Because that is the one i was going to get.

Yes. That should be no problem providing your PSU is up to driving both cards.

Yup its with that model. everyone is having this issue and its bad. you have to turn the settings down to compensate for it. I've got a reply from Nvidia saying that its a hardware limitation in the Samsung monitor. They told me to get the new Acer monitor that is coming out Q1 next year. They say that there is no ghosting with this monitor and that i should claim a refund on my current Samsung.
The best advice i can give you right now is this. 3D vision ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!! No denying that. It completely transforms gaming like you wouldn't believe. Games looked really good before but this takes everything to the next level. You're literally in the game with your character. Now i know you probably are waiting to get this real bad and i can't blame you since it's f'ing awesome, but if you could hold out for another month i think its the best choice. I'd honestly wait for the new Acer display to come out and even then, wait for review's of it from members here. I can't really say i trust Nvidia's word to much as they sell a product and neglect to mention that it's flawed and they're aware of it. I know it sucks waiting but being a 3D owner and seeing it first hand, this is what i recommend.
Another option is a 3D projector. They new Acer projector just started shipping out in Europe and I know a member here ordered one and should have it in the coming days. The choice is yours but I'd steer clear of the Samsung monitor knowing what i know now

Is there something more official about this? About claiming a refund and that nvidia recommends the Acer monitor?

I find it hard to believe that someone from Nvdia would tell not to get a monitor and get another one while they have the specific monitor on their 3d vision site. Also i dont think that you can claim refund from a company based on another's company facts.

PS. Phenoxan why have you quoted me? :P[/quote]
well here is the exact copy of what Nvidia has told me via support:
"We are aware of the issue that you are facing. The issue is due to the monitor limitation and NVIDIA is working towards a workaround regarding the issue. However, as a fix I would recommend you to go for the Acer displays listed on NVIDIA website."
"As per our research, the Acer monitor doesn't have that limitation. However, in any case when you buy something and you don't like it, you can just return it based upon the "Return Policy" of the retailer. So, evaluate it within the return policy period."
There it is
What i find hard to believe is that they would sell this the way it is. This is a lot of money for an 80% working product. That's what i find hard to believe

This is very serious if is it true. If NVIDIA knows that there is a limitation on the Samsung monitor, they are obligated to tell us technically what is the limitation in a more official way. Otherwise i call this a fraud from their part to have a non 100% working hardware on their official list, that is supposed to have been tested by them and not the opposite (meaning Samsung tested the 3d vision).
