Serious ghosting , please help !
Ive been using the 3d vision kit for 2 weeks now and ive had no problems with it. yesterday I tried playing assassins creed 2 in 3d and got a lot of ghosting , so i tried another game and got the same result...
Then i tried to run the test application for 3d in the nvidia control panel just to see if the problem was in the game and i got some ghosting there as well.
what could be causing this ? is it my monitor, my gpu or the 3d kit ?
my monitor is LG w2363d and my gpu is gtx 570 oc.

Do you have the "enable advanced in-game settings" enabled in the Nvidia control panel? If so you can use hot keys to adjust depth and convergence to minimalize ghosting. Maybe it's a cable that is going bad? You are using the DVI-D port right? Sorry only things I can think of atm, GL.

i have the advanced settings enabled but it doesn't seem to make any difference when i use Ctrl + f5/f6...
unfortunately, ive got only 1 DVI-D cable so I cant test if its bad. (and yes, im using the DVI-D port)
thank you for the quick response. does anyone have any other ideas ?

When using f5 and f6 to adjust the convergence, it will not display an overlay indicating the amount of adjustment. Like the green bars you see when adjusting depth. You can tell/confirm f5 and f6 are working by watching as the adjustment is made with the glasses off, you'll see the images move either closer together or farther apart.

If you are not seeing the ghosting in other games, I'd suspect a simple adjustment is all that is needed.

What i want to know is what changed in my PC that made the ghosting happen in the first place. A week ago, I played AC2 and other games and i got no ghosting at all, and today the ghosting is unbearable...
The ghosting is in every game. I started playing far cry 2 and the ghosting there is bearable ,but still really annoying.
I tried using Ctrl + f5/f6 without the glasses and i managed to get less ghosting (so thanks for the advice on the adjustments) but its certainly still there.

I charge them every day. ill try to charge them for an hour or 2 and see if that was the problem but that is very unlikely.

edit :
i charged them and didn't see any difference. any other ideas ?

Well it sounds a little bit like my experience first time playing 3D.

I did NOT notice any ghosting the first week or so but then i read about some users that had alot of ghosting.

Then i started seeing ghosting in all games after i read that :0) (I have a LG W2363D)

Im not saying this is your problem, but i spend weeks trying to adjust 3D settings to get rid of the ghosting but nothing helped. The monitors are just not capable of showing 3D without ghosting. (The ASUS VG278H should be ALMOST ghost free).

Convergence and lowering brightness levels is the only way of removing some of the ghosting im afraid ...

PS. Have you added any new USB devices or changed the USB port for the emitter recently ?

I did change the emitter USB port in order to fix the problem but that didn't help either.(and i didn't add any new USB devices)
Guess ill just have to deal with it... or wait for some ghost-free monitors to come out.

ALT + F1 to take a screenshot while in 3d.

If you load up a game and provide a screenshot we can ascertain if the problem is normal.

I did notice ghosting after a couple of weeks but now it rarely bothers me.

AMD motherboards suffered a while back and there was a usb hack to improve the ghosting.
