Thanks I'll pull this lot down. I am hoping to move back to this game sometime next week (depending on what happens with Watch Dogs).
I will be working on it using the files provided by 3d4dd. I have not been entirely motivated, since the reviews for the game have mostly panned it as a disaster. That may or may not be true, but I fix a lot of games that I don't ever play, and this is likely (now) to be another one. I am finishing off Saints Row 4 right now (and a bit stuck on it), and also got side-tracked with FEAR3 because I like the FEAR games. A recent patch also screwed up the Rome 2 Total War fix as well, so I want to fix that. If we get 3DMigoto working in 64bit, then Watch Dogs is going to the top of the list anyway. This community needs more modders...
Hi, Mike. Have you managed to make any progress on Bound by Flame? Thank you!
Not yet no. I have some specific work pressures right now so have put all game fixing on hold for the time being, but I expect to pick it back up in July-ish.

Sorry for bumping this Mike, I know you are extremely busy..
But.. the reason for bringing it up again is, an ultra nice 3D bundle where "Bound by Flame" is considered to be the best of the lot !
It actually has some rather nice reviews on Steam !
So can you please tell me if you have made any progress on this one ?

I have the game. It is actually not so bad. I played for like 2 hours and lost interest than. I think another game crossed my library. But in 3D it would definitely shine a bit more.

I had forgotten all about this game... I stopped working on it for two reasons (1) it got panned by reviewers and there was not a great interest in it (2) shaders only get dumped as each level is played, not all at the beginning. Since I did not want to play the game, I never bothered finishing it. I seem to remember there were some lighting issues I had not resolved anyway. If anyone else is interested, I can give them my old fix - there is a clear pattern for fixing shadows that is easy to replicate (I think I copied it from Helix's Mars War Logs fix).

I do hope that someone more talented than I, would like to finish what you have started.
But if it's not the case, I might jump out on deep water, and give it a try myself.
Though it was a much easier fix I had in mind for my first attempt :)
Thanks Mike !

I'd be happy to help you :-) I'll explain the pattern, and you can replicate this in the different shaders. I just had a quick look and in the first level there are only about 15 PS and 15 VS, so on a level by level basis it should be perfectly doable by hand. I did read a recent review of this game that actually praised it quite highly, suggesting that it was unfairly panned at release, so it's probably worth completing.
PM me to get a dialog going and I will send the current shaders. This might be a bit "deep end" for a first game (it uses some of the advanced helixmod features), but like I said the pattern is dead precise and copyable.

This game is actually pretty decent, the NPCs have "great voice acting and dialogue".
I played the female and unfortunately she sounded like Dory from finding Nemo. Also her dialogue, unlike that of the NPCs, often was somewhat disappointing. But overall the game is very enjoyable.
Maybe with the new ShaderRegex feature in 3Dmigoto it would now be feasible.
Anyhow, I've been playing it with the shadows off and used the Prototype profile with decent results. The Prototype profile contains the stereo epsilon and stereo matrix settings that can sometimes fix minor/major issues in games.
However, in Chapter 2, the player self shadow on their feet was annoying while in the snow. I disabled the shader, by using the helixblog guide by eqzitara.
