That depends. Can you project 120 inch no problem? Check out online reviews for the screen at somewhere like Amazon. Also you can buy new at decent prices, so it depends on how much it costs new and what they are selling it for.

It was definitely to close as the perceived depth was lower than when I was watching from the kitchen >3.4m away. I think you should not go too big. should also keep in mind that bigger the screensize lower the brightness and quality.

I have 115" with my BENQ with 3.8 meters and it's perfect. big screensize with enough lumens provieded by the projector is great! Of course i make sure no unnecessary lights are on for maximum result.

It was not only for gaming, with 3D movies was the same. For me at least, in case of very big screen I need some distance to perceive the pop and depth better.

[/quote] Everyone has their preferences and FOV is important for immersion, but if you're only talking about depth and convergence then D-Man is right. You can observe on any steroescopic 3d display, that you'll perceive more depth the further away you are from the screen, but if you change the separation values you can compensate for that. You can't change this on 3d movies though, it's fixed. That's why there's an optimum distance to sit from the screen if you're watching at the cinema. Again, that will be dependent on preference as some people don't like the 3d effect to be too strong.

Hello, ACER have similar new products than HD29H: V6520 and nitro G550... This projectors are build buy Optoma for Acer, and look the same but use different technical choice. The HD29H/HD27HDR seems globaly better than the V6520, but the V6520 have better colors due to his RGBRGB weel. The nitro G550 is largely distributed in France, but there is not any review yet.

After seeing the bend over prices that Acer had for their last two "gaming projectors", No Thanks. Plus Optoma includes Vesa sync ports, other manufacturers do not.

I'm really tempted to order a new projector immediately. I still have some doubts to decide between ordering this exact model (HD29H / HD27HDR), or on the other hand Optoma UHD 40/50. I think could opt for Optoma UHD 40/50 for its color wheel rgbrgb among other things, but some experiences among users, indicate that it is not completely sure that it works correctly with Nvidia 3D vision 2 glasses (I have 2 pairs + pyramid and I would like to use these ). On the other hand...I am not sure if the latest firmware could spoil or disable, the use of sequential frame totally necessary for my personal use with EDID or use with Nvidia 3d glasses. HD29H / HD27HDR seems to have a low input lag, it could even work well with nvidia 3D Vision glasses, however, its lower color wheel and some review with game out of HDR content, do not quite convince me. It is a difficult decision for me. Any advice? Should I opt for this first model mentioned in this thread? Does anyone know other possible current models that work with Edid and 3d vision glasses?

I cannot seem to get nvidia control panel to see the projector as Nvidia 3d vision ready projector after following the steps. I have the correct firmware, I used CRU and changed the name of projector and added a 1920x1080 120hz detailed resolution, then I used Restart64.exe , using windows 10.

You shouldn't need to add a detailed res of 1080p120hz. It should already be there.

Yep , it is named OTM3032 , the 1080p60hz was there on the detailed resolutions section , but not the 120hz so I added it

I did not see it specified in the OP that I needed the EDID from the UHD40/50 so that is my problem.

Still no review for the nitro G550, not a good sign. Maybe, it's just a V6520 marketed for gaming?
