3D working on only 2 planes. "Compatable" games are not rendering correctly.
I have been trying to get 3D vision to work on my games, and so far its a complete bust on almost all of them. The problem I am having is that on all of these games the HUD is rendered at the perfect focal point of 0 (no surprise there) and all the 3D content (the game graphics, 3D models, etc ) are behind that focal plane but are completely flat. There is no depth to the 3D models or environments, and nothing pops out of the screen.
This includes games that are supposed to be heavily supported: i.e. Mirror's Edge.
I feel like I am missing something here, I have 1 game that works perfectly: Lord of the Rings Online, and the stuff that came with the 3D kit works (slideshow and demo video). I talked to a friend who has a 3D vision kit and plays WoW and he says that the same thing happens to him on that game. HUD one 1 plane the rest of the game content on another, and the only "3D depth" is the depth you get between those 2 planes, but nothing in between.
I have messed with the depth setting, but it is obvious that it is not working because when you take the glasses off you can see that the distance between the dual rendered objects in the foreground are the exact same as those that are supposed to be in the far distance.
Can someone please tell me how to get games like these working correctly?

That really sounds like a depth thing. I assume you have it set high? Looking at the screen without glasses, how far apart are the two images for very distant objects?
Go to the NVIDIA control panel, set up pane. There's a button there to test stereoscopic 3D. Try running that. It has PLENTY of depth and even comes out of the screen at one point.

Close, I figured it out... basically by sheer luck I just stumbled upon the ability to change the convergence settings... only even mentioned under "keyboard shortcuts" you have to enable advanced keyboard shortcuts and the increase convergence by holding down Ctrl+F6...
The option for changing depth on the fly shows a graphic bar of how much you are changing it. Convergence does not, so you have to tweak it a bit manuall, but you can see the models start to pop out.
