Exactly. And every game would work in 3D if developers decided to implement it on their own, regardless of Nvidia. Tomb Raider is a great example from this year. Skyrim should work in 3D out of the box, without the need for the Nvidia driver to hack it and Helix to patch it.[/quote]
Skyrim requires Helix i thought.
There was an article recently that said that Nvidia spends 1 billion on R&D every year. 100,000 to pay for a programmer salary to fix 3D issues is 1/10,000 of that and seems more than worth it to support this amazing technology. Strange.

It does. I realize there were two ways to interpret my sentence. I meant the makers of Skyrim should see the value of 3D, especially in their own game, and take it upon themselves to support it. So I blame then first, and Nvidia a more distant second.

If we are to assume all devs should support 3D because the tech is there, we should assume they should also support PhysX, as there are certainly more PhysX users than 3D users. This will never be the case though.
The devs don't make enough extra money from 3D to justify their additional time supporting games, so we have to hope for indie devs who like 3D, or we have to hope NVidia threw money at someone, or that the game magically just "works".

They don't read these forums, its useless to ask for answers at the moment. Unless one of forum mods somes forward and posts something, we can say pretty much what we like without it being seen by anyone directly responsible for 3D Vision.
NVidia's licencing fees for 3D Vision has priced them out of their own market. Barely any monitor or TV manufacturers want to pay the 3D Vision fees to make compatible hardware, so the prices stay high, nobody demonstrates it at all, or if they do its not set up well, so barely anyone buys. Plus all other 3D formats look shit so people just assume that PC 3D looks shit too.
We have to hope for radical drops in price, and better NVidia support to the industry before 3D Vision will be anything other than a very niche product. I personally see the Oculus Rift being more popular and a more effective replacement.
