you might want to know what is the actual GPU. I have seen many laptop going with big CPUs, HD, etc... but then you get a crappy GPU which basically renders the laptop useless for gaming.

What Genesis said is true.
Dont take it wrong way. Get fraps try the game in 2d. Look at FPS. Cut it in half. That will be what your FPS Max. I will be surprised if it can work at lowest settings in 1080p for BF3 @30fps. Laptops have trouble performing on new games with 3d. Most of us desktop users have videocards as big as our forearms. Hell many of us have 2. For battlefield 3 The lowest video card for 1080p 3d I'd recommend a single 480 which is probably 200-250. Even that wont play game at max-medium.(maybe medium but most likely low)

unfortunately, I have seen a lot of those laptops with really good specs but then they fall short on the GPU. Not to be rude, but that GT540 GPU is nothing good. If you are looking for a good gaming laptop, Asus or MSI would be a good reference. Roughly anything with a 560 mobile GPU would be much better than that GT540. Even an older GPU such as the 260 would be better. The GT540 has only 96 cores, same as a 9600GT way back then. The GTX560M has 192. CHeck the nvidia website, they are listing the mobile gpus and specs.

Cheers mate.
