Dark Souls 1 crash blablabla (3D Vision fix update, fixed a shader)
Yupp, The easiest solution is to: - Unplug your emitter :) - You will see the Windows Desktop (and probably a crash dialog that you can close) - Re-plug the emitter and make sure 3D Vision is selected in Nvpanel not 3D Discover;) - As it loves to default to that one. - Start any other game you want. This is not specific to this game alone but to many others (seems to happen mostly if the game is DX9). I agree, a bit infuriating, but something that you can work around without hitting the "RESET" button ^_^
Interesting...I did have this happen in Sonic Generations as well, but I haven't run into another game with the issue. Unfortunately, unplugging the emitter doesn't seem to do anything and I still have to reset my PC in Dark Souls. Thanks for the input though. Do you think this might be some driver bug?

Probably broken in Win10, but at least in Win7 you can: Windows Key->right arrow->right arrow->r That brings up the start menu, then the shutdown button and chooses the R option for restart.

I'll drop this here in just case it helps anyone else havin a b*tch of a time getting Dark Souls to run in 3D like I was, I was getting this locking up/looping between black screen 3D off/3D on blank/white screen issue as well as the 'small box' issue on my Win10 rig... Right-click DARKSOULS.exe > Properties > Compatibility > Check Disable Fullscreen Optimizations(Fixes Looping) Install HelixMod Fix(Reintroduces Looping) and dsfix > Delete d3d9.dll Install Release version of the HeliXmodLauncher.exe(Fixes Looping), helixmod.dll and add the following line to the [General] section of the fix's DX9Settings.ini: DefModuleName = darksouls.exe Use NVIDIA Profile Inspector to Add the StereoMiscFlags flag to Darks Souls Profile(Fixes 'small box' issue) StereoMiscFlags > 0x6 > Apply Run HeliXmodLauncher.exe and then Dark Souls...

I could fix it by forcing fullscreen and 120hz via DSFix. It seems that the Remastered Edition does not have this issue. @TsaebehT: Dark Souls 2 has the same issue with the loop. But the trick you posted works for this game, too! Thx for the info! I'll add this to 3DFM. But personally I think it's just easier to use the Remastered version of both games.

Fullscreen and 120Hz fixed the need for StereoMiscFlags, I didn't mess with DSfix much when I was trying to get the fix to work... oddly enough though I still can't get 3D to engage with the d3d9.dll in place, I have to use the injector/launcher, and I have to Disable Fullscreen Optimizations.
