They've already been quite upfront about the performance, saying that even their recommended specs might only get 30fps at 1080p. They've later come out and said they've improved performance. But I doubt they'll be supporting 3D Vision on top of that. But I have it preordered (I don't usually preorder, but I spotted a pricing glitch that got me a $15 preorder). So I can report on it, if no-one else gets to it first.

It's a real shame to not be able to play a sequel to a game that worked in 3D Vision before. I'm worried about this same thing with Arkham Knight.

Wait and see. I pre-ordered it too, even that I do not like the Witcher 1 and have so many problems to motivate myself in The Witcher 2. ;) But it just looks so great. Maybe it will 3D vision, maybe not... it might be possible that it is fixable?! I can also report back on launch-day.

I will keep my fingers crossed about 3D but I already purchased the Collector's Edition of the game because I loved the prior two. A mature RPG with an open world larger than Skyrim is going to be a joy to play in, even if it's in 2D.

I'm getting it, I don't see the point in stressing over 3D vision usability any more, if it works it's a bonus, if not it's just another on an ever growing list.

I don't think we should expect out-of-box 3D Vision support here.

I really hope it's the same engine so 3d should be okish. Same as Batman, it's still UE3 so I have big hopes that it may work in 3d. Witcher 2 was absolutely amazing in 3d, so I can't wait for W3.

They are going from a DX9 renderer to a DX11 one so I expect many things may no longer render correctly in 3D anymore.

Gopher here talks about performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94R0Ji39E68 GTX 980 gives you about 60 fps on ultra settings if you dont use PhysX. So game should be playable in 3D Vision on high end PCs
