Libertine, you can make hardlinks using Link Shell Extension, a bit more convenient. I also used it to make symbolic links so I can have my steam games spread over several disks.

Partol, interesting find, will have to try that when I run into the issue again, symlinks and hardlinks don't always work.

eqzitara, I don't think that trick for steam always works either. With some games either steam or the game checks the CRC of the exe file, which is wrong because it's the launcher instead of the real exe. I do know the 4GB launchers for Fallout and Skyrim etc. used special loaders to have steam first check the actual game exe file but then swap it out with the 4GB version after the check so that one would actually be launched. Perhaps something similar can be done in this case. Or one could of course edit the resource.dat file and remove an offending profile (or all /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> ) and then fix the game entirely using Helix' mod :P
