just would like to let you know, that a resolution of 1600x900 with 120 Hz is running flawlessly at my Benq w1070 beamer over HDMI. It is definitely an improvement over 1280x720!
How to do: Use the Acer 5360 inf and create a custom resolution of 1600x900@120 Hz with the nvidia driver tool! My PC is connected via a 10m HDMI cable to my receiver (Yamaha RX- V673) and the W1070 with a 10m HDMI cable to the receiver. 7.1 sound output over the receiver (HDMI (PCM)).
I am using my 3D Vision kit; I am a big fan of 3D Vision (@Nvidia)!

24ms input lag in their review. Which, honestly, is probably the lowest I can remember seeing for any projector.

Yes 120 Hz. Important: when you have the right driver installed, the beamer will not be shown as 3DTV play device. With the Acer 5360 inf (use Google) the beamer will be shown as a "normal" 3D Vision device, that also supports 120 hz with 1280x720. You have to use your 3D vision glasses with 3D Vision ermitter. Due to the bandwidth limitation of HDMI, only lower resolutions are possible with 120Hz. As soon as you installed the acer drive, you are able to choose 1280x720@120Hz. Create a custom resolution of 1600x900@120hz (progressiv) and you are also able to use this higher resolution for 3D Vision!

How is the final image? Does the W1070 upscale the 1600x900 image to 1920x1080?
1600x900 is not the native resolution of the beamer (you can clearly see it if you are under windows (icons and fonts are not 100% crisp)). But during gaming you can see an improvement over 1280x720. Everything looks a bit sharper and you have less aliasing.

So if I have a emitter built-in to my monitor, this is not going to work? But buying an external emitter would allow it to work?
I'm not sure what nvidia driver tool you are using but whenever I create a custom resolution above 1280x720 @ 120hz, I get no signal to the projector aka black screen. I flashed the acer inf correctly also. What is this Nvidia driver tool you speak of?

i've used it to remove all resolutions except 720p120 and 3d vision still works.

This would be a pretty big deal if it actually works. Wish I could help figure it out but I've only got 3DTV Play. I'd certainly buy a 3Dvision kit for this though.
