Vesa disconnected
What is it about today that all of a sudden when I enable 3d and set HDMI checkerboard in the NV CP for 3dTV Play that now I load any game and i get the BIG ANNOYING RED... "VESA DISCONNECTED" error? Nothing has changed on my system? Everything I search using Google points to problems in the past with this... like 2010 or something... Yeah I used to be there too and I too like many of you got the rollermod and the hardware hack thingy etc and used that and was 100% happy in fact more than happy cause I had FS 30fps 1080P and now that's gone but I can live without it... but NOT if that red message comes back.

I don't know why it's happening to you all of a sudden, it happened to me last year as soon as I hooked up my emitter. You either have to get a VESA cable or make one, that's what I did last year. It needs to know that the emitter is connected and you're not just running a hack or a mod, those hacks are what initiated the check in the first place because people were in effect stealing 3D Vision/3DTV Play.

Yeah it just came up all of a sudden... maybe since I updated drivers a week ago or so I can't say for sure... though I havn't tried 3Dtv play in a week. But either way I thought once you buy an official 3d vision kit that you get 3DTVplay for free simply by plugging in my emitter. That's what I did for a long time now. So if what you say is true I have to get a VESA cable... then plug one end into my emmitter and.. what about the other end? My tv(and likely every other known TV) accepts HDMI, PC, RCA, and Coax... Ive never seen a modern tv that has a "vesa" plug.

I got a new HDMI cable recently... and I switched my plugs on my video card so that my native monitor is the main DVI port(closest to the motherboard on the card) and my 3dTY plug is now the second... would that do something? I mean when I use 3d I still just go into CP and check off the TV and unchecl the monitor and apply so I am using one display... i dunno

If your tv is HDMI 1.4, then uninstall the EDID override. 3DTV Play supports checkerboard now. If your TV is HDMI 1.3, you'll need to get the VESA cable or build a sync signal generator like Roller described.

Funny thing is when I went to run Tomb Raider last night right after I left the reply, my 3D was set to 3D Discover and I couldn't get back into Generic DLP, there was a Windows update that ran when windows started yesterday maybe something in that screwed it up. My setup has always been complicated, whenever I do a driver update it's a chore. I have a DVI to HDMI cable going into a splitter/switch then to either my Onkyo 5.1 Receiver or to my 3DA-1 3D Adapter(converts other 3D signals such as SBS to CB) and from either of them to my Mitsubishi DLP (HDMI2/3 was originally 2 for 2D & 3 for 3D). Since it's a 3D Vision supported device I've always been able to use native CB, without the need for 3DTV Play, but plugging straight into the TV loses any chance of using 5.1 sound and when plugging into the switch 3D won't enable. So I found out through some intense trial an error that if I plug straight into the TV during setup I can enable 3D(as Mitsubishi DLP), shutdown, plug back into the splitter/switch, boot back up and then it's either set as or I can set 3D as Generic DLP. So yeah either way just like you something happened to me yesterday screwing up my setup and I had to go through all that bs again. Have you run the 3D wizard again? Or maybe try reinstalling drivers, not sure. I thought I was going to have to reinstall drivers, I've had windows update overwrite my drivers and screw everything up on me before, but all I had to do was run the wizard in the aforementioned method and everything is fine again.

I know windows update wanted to install ""nVidia - Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1" a lil while back. I declined and hid it at the time after a quick search showed a few people were having issues after it installed. My system is working fine atm, so I decided not to install it. So perhaps you got the same update and it caused your problem? check your windows update history.

Nov 19,2012 that WDDM was installed by windows Update on my system. I can't find really anything bad about it on google but then again I can't find anyone claiming that its necessary either.
