it might have more width but it's still a smaller picture on my projector screen... I can make the sq pic much bigger. is it not possible then to just change the fieid of view in the settings in the game after I have the picture filling the hole screen ?? An for that matter does the game not put the same fov into either shape picture automatically I would of taught that it did ??? Jay
???
I take it the ???? is you getting impatient again, thanks for refraining from making a new thread. In most game it's about having more real estate and getting the UI crap off to the sides. Plus most movies are 16:9 http://clutchround.com/csgo-the-ultimate-resolution-guide/ But yah, whatever floats your boat.

I just tested it in game... You do loose some from the side's... but also from from the top and bottom (which shouldn't be the case). There is a FOV slider in the advanced settings an if you increase it by 3 notches this more than compensates giving me a little more than 16:9 at the sides and at the top and bottom.... But this then means I got a way bogger screen size an a better 3d effect. It also seems to play well an is not noticeable when turning etc.... Jay

16:9 probably matches human field of view a little better, also. See https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peripheral_vision#/media/File%3AField_of_view.svg. Nice visuals, D-Man11. By the way, some of us appreciate the breadth of your technology tracking and support. Thanks...

I'm with whyme466 on this, 16:9 is more visually appealing than 4:3. But it's all about user preference, as long as your happy with it, that's all that matters.

Jesus... how could anyone in this day and age even consider 4:3. Also pretty much nothing is designed with this perceptive in mind anymore, you are just asking for pain.

I'm surprised there isn't 4k projectors with 3d support by now since there are ridiculously cheap 4k tvs everywhere, maybe a limitation of projector tech?
The full chip DLP exists, made by TI, but is punishingly expensive at $2K or so, just for the chip. There is a weird hybrid version that uses a 4M micro-mirror DLP to switch multiple pixels in a frame, since they switch so fast. Supposed to be cheaper. Keep in mind though that 4K on a projector really makes no sense, unless you are sitting extra close. You don't want to be paying the 4K cost to push pixels that you can't see.
