Asus VG278H - HDCP problem
My VG278H had a malfunction so I RMA to asus, they sent me a new one. But this one while saying VG278H is being recognised as a VG278HR and on Nvidia Control Panel it says that this display does not support HDCP. How do I make him recognize this monitor as VG278H instead of VG278HR? also curious about why VG278HR does not support HDCP? and why it isn't on the list of 3d vision monitors? Because of this I can't play Bluray 3D :(

I believe most (if not all) show up as the HR, that isn't a problem. Maybe you're using an old cable? Try the one that shipped with the monitor.

My old one didn't say HR, I've tried with 3 different cables and 2 computers. My other monitors don't have hdcp problem. My conclusion is that or this monitor because is newer won't work well on windows 7 instead of windows 8. All my computers are windows 7 so I can't test it. Or the monitor is defective.

My monitor shows up as the HR, and I have used it (in 3d) on both 7 and 8, and it registers as supporting HDCP. Perhaps the new monitor needs to be RMAd as well.

So yours is a vg278H but says vg278HR, in the nvdia control panel on the hdcp status is fine. well that removes some of the possibilities I thought of, tks. I'm guessing it's probably defective then. Just to add, the monitor works in 3d well both movies and games, just bluray3d doesn't work since requires the hdcp.

I haven't tried bluray3d, but both my displays (a secondary Dell and the HR) are showing as HDCP compatible in the control panel.
