I was wondering if there are any plans for it to be supported in 3d View?
Or, if anyone has any knowledgeable or intelligent guesses about whether it's likely to be compatible out of the box, I'd be grateful for any input.

Can't comment on 3D View, but it's essentially useless for 3D gaming because it can't do native resolution at full framerate 60 fps. Samsung is the only brand that can do native rez/60 fps in 3D with nvidia 3D drivers.

DDude u could get a 60- 65" Mitsubishi dlp for that price. I've seen 72" for less used on craigslist. That has checkerboard, and a much better 3d image. Checkerboard is not full hd, it is only half resolution.
The new 3d tv are not as good in 3d mode. They will have ghosting issues and scaling issues. Even the Samsung is a poor 3d tv. Google cross talk and see how bad each set suffers. Some are better than others, with dlp having zero. Save you money. This generation is has poor 3d and costs way too much for the crappy picture

Asus Rampage Extreme II
2 Ge-force 480 in SLI
GTX 295 PhysX Card
12gb ddr3 2000mhz ram
Intel SSD in RAID 0

Panasonic VT25 (nice 2d but I returned it due to cross talk)
Acer H5360 720p on 130" screen (the best 3d)
23" Acer LCD monitor (horrible cross talk- sold it)
I was eyeing this reasonably priced 32" 3d-ready tv:
