Stereo-In-A-Window on XP - It Works! (thanks Nvidia!)
2 / 4
I have 32-bit XP, a FX 3400, 3D Vision Kit, and a SyncMaster 2233RZ. I am able to get stereo in a window partially working - approximately the bottom half of the LCD is in stereo but the top half is not. I am able to move the window around or just scroll the image inside the window and everything on the bottom half of the LCD will sync in stereo but nothing on the top half. The top half of the LCD looks exactly like it does without the glasses on - I can see both of the images all of the time. Everything works fine on a CRT so I'm thinking my SyncMaster might be bad. Even on the bottom half of the SyncMaster, there is more ghosting than with the CRT.
I replaced the FX 3400 with a FX 570 and it now works!

We bought a 3d vision and 2233rz kit for testing.
We use the stereographics z-sreen plus 3dlabs and quadro 3700,4600 cards.
Thanks to you i got the stereo working under xp quite fast but had some problems starting our software,
as the opengl overlays were not active(overlays on in opengl settings and in the registry) .
I got everithing working after switching to a lower screen resolution and switching back to 1680*1050 mode.
I use the almost the same settings as you.
triple buffer off
I got more positive reactions from coworkers than i had when we tested the planar screen.
First findings -"almost" no ghosting.
-takes sometimes up to 5 sec. to switch to stereo measuring mode ("fixed "centered cursor in the screen surface plane, stereo model moving in the 3 axis).

So your software has a fixed cursor! Could you please mention what software you use, "Stereo model moving in the 3 axis" means the images move apart from each while the cursor remains fixed right?
Thank you in advance!

I have a samsung 2233 monitor wt nvidia 3D vision kit. it works f9 for watching movies. actually i work on a 3D application Maya 2009. which has a stereoscopic option. its working f9 with anaglyph glasses but could not see the same with 3D vision shutter glasses.
I could chk the manual, it is saying that 3D vision kit works in full mode only, while maya is a non-fullscreen application. Do u have any suggestion on this..... regarding required Hardware to work 3D vision with maya.
Note :: Actually I have a Qudro FX 1400 card for Maya. but as 3D vision works with geforce, i got a 9800 GT card and changed it.

most stereo compilation softwares use a stereo fixed cursor to mimic mechanical and analytical plotters.
we use software from Zi.
Most off the time we use the fixed cursor(roaming) mode , but we also have a moving cursor mode.
In 2002 i used virtuozo (chinese software, supresoft corp i think demo version is available ) for a special assingment ,
if i remember well this software had quite a few options to control how the stereo cursor behaved,
fixed,moving,fixed z,ground following etc....
Your GPU is pre-G80 so it won’t work with 3D Vision.
All quadro supporting cuda should work. (cuda computing the synchronisation delay grahic card >< screen ?)
