HDMI 2.0 and 3d vision @ SteveK (or anyone from Nvidia)!
I'm grateful for the intervention from Nvidia on this forum, but please please can you tell us something about the future of proper full frame 60/120 Hz 3d on consumer devices? I.e. via HDMI?
I for one am seriously frustrated by the lack of TVs and Projectors with support for a minimum of 1080p 3d at 60 hz. Having a soft (the silicon is out there) limit of 1080p at 24Hz is totally unacceptable for most games.
Also, I don't know what the current generation of cards can actually support and what the future plans are.
I know a lot of it is in the display manufacturers court, but the silence on HDMI 2.0 is totally deafening and I'm quite literally delaying purchase decisions because there seems to be a total lack of information out there, let alone answers on a way forwards.
It might not be a 'big fish' as far as Nvidia are concerned, but the perceived intransigence of the industry as a whole is quite literally costing you guys money.

Totally agree, we need some answers.
We were waiting for some REAL news about Real 3D not this Fake 3D crap.
Please chime in, this is seriously getting frustrating. It is holding me back from purchase decisions I would love to make.
The future of REAL 3D please....

Samsung has supported checkerboard in their 1080p LCDs, but not in their 4k displays, which were initially released with HDMI 1.4 which doesn't have enough bandwidth to support it. But now they are supporting HDMI 2.0 and even come with it apparently. Checkerboard offers the highest image quality we will get until Displayport 1.3a is released and TV's support it, which is only a possibility as Panasonic is the only one i am aware of that currently comes with displayport 1.2a. If Nvidia knows the answer, we'd love to hear any plans toward supporting this if Sumsung will support it as well. Or if Panasonic will support DP1.3, which will do full 4k @ 120hz.
