Hey guys, so angry I signed up to voice my opinion.

DHR, I did not know this. How is the quality? I have read that 3DTV play is very shitty compared to True 3d like 3Dvision and Tridef. How have you found the quality and have you tried Tridef or the 3Dvision using the EDID stuff>? What is the difference?
Is it interleave ? Line reversed interleave?

My TV its not listed in the requeriment list, BUT for some "magical" reason my TV works with the original EDID with 3DTV play (that list is not updated!!!)....thats why i tell you to try 3DTV play 14 day trial and see.
3DTV play use FRAMEPACKING (HDMI 1.4a) (HDMI-TV to HDMI-GFX connection)....so thats why its limited to 720p/60 or 1080p/24. For playing you have to use 720p/60....playing at 24fps SUCKS!! Add some AA to gaming improve a lot this resolutions "issue".....you dont mentions the TV model you have, but all LG 3D cinema have some feature called "Super resolution" or "Super resolution+"....enable that also, name the TV HDMI input in TV to "PC".....and you are ready to GO.
Talking about 3D quality:
- 3DTV play = 3D vision
- 3DTV play/3Dvision > Tridef
3D vision and 3DTV Play are the same....3D vision its for Monitors/TV (nvidia certified) and 3DTV play for any 3D TVs (in theory, because nvidia add the EDID stuff to the software to make this a lot more incompatible..LOL and hard to setup..2x LOL)

Nop...its Framepacking method only.
You can use some Zalman/Acer EDID to enable Interleave mode and you have to manually activate in the 3D menu (Framepacking its automatic) and swap eyes in the same 3D menu...here is the link with info:

DHR, please refer to this https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/520928/3dtv-play-1080p-60hz-for-gaming-works-33-solution-and-questions-/
The 3DTVplay does not support interlaced/interleaved, which means the TV is forced to render the 3D images, thus making the 3D effects shitty at 24hz or 60hz @ 720p. This is not good.
3DVision, the one for the optimized for geforce (polarised acer screens they sell, CAN USE 60hz @ 1080p because it uses interleave/interlaced, which means the computer does the rendering NOT THE TV, so it runs at full 60fps and no input lag.
AMD and Tridef also support interleaved/interlaced input, so my LG TV can do 60hz @ 1080p with no input lag, because it does not render anything. The 3DTV must be FPR style, and all LGs are.

This is why we have both went and bought a 7970 each. I use interleaved, it is the best and no hacking involved.
My days with Nvidia are over. Officially a fan of AMD now, and will be pretty much for all my gaming years to come. Nvidia has really disappointed me and let me down. I got really scared at one point as I almost thought I could not use my LGTV, which I paid over ONE THOUSAND $$ dollars for, as a gaming monitor, until I discovered that AMD supports any monitor YOU want. This is a company that clearly is for the consumer, not just for profits. I will never buy a Geforce again.

With the original EDID, 3DTV Play only works in Framepacking mode (720p/60 or 1080p/24)
With the Zalman/Acer EDID you activate the "Optimized for GeForce" in your TV (i try this with olders drivers, maybe with R310 this is not possible anymore)... when you start a game (in 1080p) with this EDID you can see an interleave image (not 3D processed), go to 3D menu and select "Interleave" mode...go again to 3D menu and swap eyes (L/R --> R/L) and you have a 1080p/60 3D image in interleave mode......using the TV Glasses.
I test this EDID - Optimized for GeForce method....but tbh...720p FP looks better.
BTW.....LG 3D Cinema support: Framepacking, Interleave, SBS, TB and Checkerboard.....and the crappy 2D -> 3D conversion on the fly.
If you have a Passive TV, i recomend using SBS or TB mode with Tridef....especially TB.

Try 3DTV play 14 days trial!! the trial is FREE!! and see for your self (of course if that works in your TV or/and you're ok to change the EDID).
i tell you, about 3D quality Tridef is inferior (SADLY!!) to 3DTV Play/3D vision and more difficult to setup.
Changing EDID its very easy...its not NASA.
I think most of these people are having a difficult time grasping simple things like native format and post processing.
There is no reason for Nvidia not allowing users the choice of a line-interleaved format. They purposely restrict it, to profit from monitor certification under their optomized for GeForce monikor would be the obvious assumption.
DHR are you kiding?. Did you even try Tridef?
Yes, i try with a lot of games (3D and power 3D)....for me the sense of depth/convergence+ its best with 3DTV Play.
Wow, I am not the first person to be really upset at what Nvidia is doing and switching to an AMD card in response.
Over the past few days I have found a few other people who have purchased AMD cards so they can get games working in 3D on their TV. I did not realize this has been known for some time.
Does anyone have stats on AMD sale rates or the rise of their HD3D with Tridef? I have a feeling that they have been experiencing a increase in sales directly attributed to having open 3D to all TVs or monitors of the users choice.
Lol I just found out two of my other friends both now have AMD cards, and I have also found countless users on the net in the same situation as me and turning to ATI. AMD ftw!!! I love my 3D.

DHR, what all of use want is a row interleaved output/input, so we can play our games in 3D with 60hz at 1080p.
Nvidia has LOCKED interleaved, so that we are forced to buy their screens and monitors. AMD and Tridef have INTERLEAVE!!!! This is what all 3dgamers need, an interleave option to play games fawlessly.
Officially now an AMD FAN BOY...I will never buy from Nvidia ever again, I am not the first person, at this rate and the more people buy 3Dtvs and fund out the truth, theya re going to lose a whole heap of customers, mainly males that have children and a wife to FEED, not buy expensive monitors to simply game ON!!

There's a lot of people that simply have 2 rigs, so they can game on either platform. Deaus-Ex as well as the reasons you mentioned, convinced me to build a Radeon based computer for my latest build.
When I played WoW, almost everyone in my guild had AMD GPUs. When I'd question them, they'd always say that they never had a problem with drivers and that I should try AMD out for myself. I laughed and told them no thanks, I've read the horror stories. They laughed and called me a stupid fanboy.
Regardless, Radeon cards have gained ground on Nvidia. Nvidia should simply put a little more effort into supporting their user base instead of turning a blind eye on their qualms.
Gamers can be very fickle. In my opinion, it would be in their best interest to continue to grow a steadfast relationship with us instead of ignoring us. What gives? You'd think that they would have learned that "morale and profits, go hand in hand"

Note how they look at all the software on your PC, you guys that bit torrent copyrighted things, may be in trouble if they are ever forced to turn over member information. Hell, for that matter, there are a lot of companies taking a close look at what's on your drive.
