It is weird, I will often go for hours without any flashing only to have it crop up and not go away. It is such a shame and I hope nV figures it out soon. If it is indeed the glasses, hopefully nV will cross ship a new pair with mucho speedo.

Stupid question - what type of lighting is in your room where you are using 3D Vision? How close is it to your 3D Vision glasses?

Lighting is very dim. I have one lamp w/ a 40W bulb about 6 feet to my left, that's the only light I leave on while I play. I've tried turning it off, too, but again it made no difference as far as flashing/blinking.

Have you tried the new drivers? I just tried them. It has reduced the blinking but NOT eliminated it. The worst thing I find is the Medusa demo. That is where I see the most flicker. But it has significantly improved in the 3D viewer for example where I now have virtually no flicker.
I get the problem with all lights off and moving the glasses within 2 inches of the transmitter makes no difference. I am absolutely convinced its related to the driver system, because otherwise it would be consistent with all applications/games and not vary depending on what I was doing.

No, I haven't tried the new 186 drivers yet, but I'll install them this week as soon as I have time.
After all my testing, I'm inclined to think you're probably right. I've thoroughly eliminated SLI, lighting, vsync, distance to the IR emitter, charge of the glasses, USB conflicts, gpu/cpu temperature, gpu load, gpu oc, refresh rate, proximity to any electronics or infrared sources, and psu malfunction as possible causes.... that pretty much leads us to app/game-specific driver compatibility. Although that really doesn't explain why I get blinking/flashing on the nvidia logo test screen. lol

This simply could be a hw problem with the glasses. If you bought them through NVIDIA we offer a two year warranty and our customer support team will be happy to replace them. Likewise if you bought them through an etailer they can help get you a replacement.

I don't think that the rapid blinking you notice is somewhat related to a problem of the glasses or loosing the sync signal form the IR transmitter, or even SLI-related (these may just make it more frequent for some reason). I've noticed the problem on a fee demo systems from Nvidia that I was able to test, and even when I got my own 3D Vision Kit the problem with "white" blinking in the right eye only is present. Not very frequent, but sometimes it happens for no obvious reason... sometimes it is just once in a while, sometimes it starts repeating itself (not using SLI)... and I've found out that if the rapid blinking continues by pressing the power button on the glasses it disappears. So it is probably something related to lost synchronization, but I don't think it is because of loosing the line of sight of the IR transmitter. It is most likely due to some problems in the 3D Vision driver... ;)
And so far with the new 186.18 drivers I haven't seen the blinking problem, but that doesn't mean that it has disappeared. So please also report the driver version you are using.

Yes, but I haven't noticed blinking in the demo so far... using a single GeForce GTX 275. I'll probably try with a slower card - GTS 250 later on today.

From what I'm hearing these new drivers a helping a lot of people. Personally Ive had flashing in all my games for as long as i've had the system, some games it was better (L4D ~every 4-6mins) or Epilepsy inducement mode (Civ 4 ~every 1/2-2 seconds). Today I'm doing a fresh install of Vista x64 and am going to try the new drivers (old vista has the graphics driver crashing ALL THE TIME). Also, do anybody know if you can get two IR emitters working at the same time? I wonder if saturating the room with the IR Sync signal would help.....

Both. I've done specific testing both with and without SLI and found no difference in the severity or frequency of flashing/blinking.

It is weird, I will often go for hours without any flashing only to have it crop up and not go away. It is such a shame and I hope nV figures it out soon. If it is indeed the glasses, hopefully nV will cross ship a new pair with mucho speedo.

Although that really doesn't explain why I get blinking/flashing on the nvidia logo test screen. lol
