3D in 1920*1080 with 60hz for each eyes?
Hi all, With actual beamers you can render a 1920*1080 with 120 hz, but it seems ( didn't tried yet) that there is no way to have 3D in full HD. Is it true ? Lot of people are talking about HDMI limitations, others about TV limitations..etc... I'm lost and i don't if it's worthy buying a full hd 3D beamer if i can only render 3D in 720. I'm actally playing with most games in 3D but only 720 because of my beamer which is HD ready. Will it work with a full hd 3D beamer?? Thanks a lot PS: Computer is ok to handle 3D in full hd. i7 with 2* GTX TI 660 in SLI

You can have full HD 3d with a 3d monitor over DVI. For projectors (I think that's what you mean by beamer?), you are limited to 720/60 because of HDMI limitations. It still looks good though, from what I'm told.

Can't be done. It's companies just being cheap, not wanting hassles, and/or wanted planned obsolesce. There aren't any projectors that do this. The HDMI revision supports 1080p@120hz and 1080p 3D@60fps as optional. And Silicon Image was seen selling this 325mhz part as soon as a year ago for 6 dollars. A couple of TVs actually have been using this chip and have 1080p@120hz as an unsupported resolution. Unfortunately, Nvida is too lazy to support anything but the bare minimum requirements for HDMI with 3D Play. So don't expect them to update to 1080p@60fps until HDMI 2 is released (and even that's being optimistic since Nvidia has clearly abandoned 3D as being niche). Obviously D-DVI could handle it, but projectors companies once again elect to save a couple pennies and go with VGA (even though nobody uses VGA and even if some Luddite did, they could purchase a VGA to DVI adapter for a couple dollars). Although even if they did, Nvidia likes to extract ransoms from everyone in the chain. So unless the projector manufacturer paid the extortion fee to Nvidia, it wouldn't be allowed to officially work with 3D Vision anyways. I think there are DIY solutions out there that allow you to use two beamers to create a 1080p 3D @60fps using polarized glasses. But that's obviously not an Nvidia solution. Maybe one day Nvidia will care about 3D again. And actually visit this sub-forum. Until then, you're free to criticize with impunity. And hope that HDMI 2.0 magically solves all the issues that really aren't real issues with HDMI 1.4.
