I've had this problem for the last 6+ months after updating my win10, previous version of win10 worked fine, so I don't know if it's the OS update or the 3Dvision driver at fault, I've gone through 3-4 driver updates (with DDU) but no joy. Currently on 399.07.
Firstly the 3D test in control panel keeps stuttering but I ignored it because 3D works in games.
Secondly the 3D keeps splitting for 1-2 seconds every few minutes for most but not all games (Rise of the TR, Quantum Break, NFS Payback) but works fine in BlazeRush which is less demanding. So I upgraded my CPU from an i7 4770 to 4790k, also upgraded my GPU from a GTX 1060, 1070 and now 1080, still no joy.
Lastly I also occasionally get black screen freezes (20-30 seconds) upon booting my PC before the desktop loads but ONLY when 3D is enabled, so I usually only enable 3D for a game then disable after.
I also noticed that VR games that run on Unity crash on startup when 3D is enabled (beat saber, battle of kings), couldn't find an answer for that anywhere until I figured out it was 3Dvision was the cause.
All these issues started in the last 6+ months so I suspect it's the win10 update but I wasn't really paying attention back then as I wasn't playing many games then so I can't pinpoint the cause. The 3D test glitching is the first thing I noticed so I think it is the win10 update. Updating again is my next solution but I thought I'd ask here before having to go through that whole process.

Not sure you can troubleshoot this just using the forum.
IMO you need something that needs chatting and iterations of trying different things.
Send me a PM if interested and we can work from there.
If I'm allowed to be shallow I would say the standard thing about using DDU in safe mode and trying different drivers and different versions of windows.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.

Do whatever you want.
I did obviously read your post but the problems were pretty severe and not common.
This is why I recommended trying different drivers and different versions of windows.
It's not like anyone would be able to reproduce your problems and help you solve them that way.
Obviously you're capable of installing drivers/windows without any help.
Good luck hope you solve the problem.

I actually think this sounds like a broken emitter or something related.
I'm not sure anyone is going to be much help here since although not perfect Windows 10 works fine in 3d vision.
You don't seem to mention anything regarding the actually drivers of your system or hardware so kinda makes it hard for anyone to offer anything substantial but If i was troubleshooting the same issue I would start here.
Motherboard bios, network adpator, Chipset, and USB drivers.
Windows 10 is horrible for forcing driver updates on you with updates and one of these things could be bad.
So could also be worthwhile getting a copy of windows 7 setting it up as a dual boot and see if the same problem manifests there.

You were right, I tried using a spare emitter and after an hour of Hellblade it didn't glitch once. The next night I went back to the built-in emitter (VG278H) and it started glitching randomly that night. Next night I went back to the external emitter and again flawless. I don't know why BlazeRush is unaffected or why the built-in emitter is faulty. For now I'll keep the external emitter handy and keep going back and forth, really don't like that capped pyramid on my desk, all it's missing is the all seeing eye, or maybe that's why the Nvidia logo is an eye.
