Well, I checked out the demo for Shogun 2 today on steam. Gotta say, i'm very disappointed in the 3D support, especially after having played previous Total War games without much, if any, issues. Shadows, fire, smoke, arrows flying through the air, rivers, and numerous other objects/effects aren't rendered in 3D, killing the experience IMO. Sure, I'm still going to get the game because Shogun 1 was one of my all time favs, but I think i'll have to just play in 2D.
I try to look on the bright side, that I'll get smoother framerates with higher graphics settings, at least...

Yeah, first time I actually felt a game looked way better without 3D. On the other hand, this game requires waaaay to much of you`re computer. Everything on high and my 480s lagged like hell without 3D. Guess I have to wait for the release, shame I have it pre ordered. Do not want now, but looks like it is a hassle to get a refund on steam so I have to hope the final version get`s my attention.
