Is there such thing as a DLP TV that is flawless as a computer monitor and display for 3D?

Agreed that panasonic is better on 3d (on high end brands) but I think samsung is better on the lower ones (less then 2k.) Id go with samsung still cause you can use tridef and 3d tv play. Tridef is superior but has less support then 3d vision.

I had both 55" inch Samsung 7 series TVs - the plasma and the LCD and I ended giving up the plasma as the 3D was just too dark. The LCD pops like nothing else and 3D movies look fantastic. The plasma just wasn't bright enough and was dull in comparison. I found the ghosting on both TVs the same. Can't go wrong with a Samsung LCD - best TV I've ever owned!

To game in 3D checkerboard, you first enable the 'good 2D quality' mode, that allows you to choose 'checkerboard' mode when installing the 3D Vision drivers. Then you choose 'DLP' in 3D Vision setup and finish the install. At this point, you can game in 3D 1920x1080 checkerboard at 60Hz per eye, same framerate as poor image quality 1280x720 so it's smooth.

Via HDMI? Sounds interesting. I have a series 7 Samsung and would be interested to give this a go.
Know of any 3D projectors that can do this? Perhaps the new 1080p Sharp or Samsung DLP projectors will be the answer...?

Hi guys take what ever you want...but...
ghosting goes like this:
LCD>>>LED>>>PLASMA>>>DLP
My advice go see and test the monitor or plasma or whatever...because people are subjective...and so are the products i.e. same product may work different...
so again test them before you buy it...
@Jenson: there is no such thing as all-rounder display. If I were you I would buy a monitor for the PC and a Plasma for 3D experience.

PM me if you want to invoke checkerboard on your sammy, there are some implementation details you must know about.
All DLP front projectors make a horrible howling noise so they are a non-starter.
I've been using the 67 inch Samsung LED DLP as a monitor for 2 years now. I find it great at 1360x768. Much better than the 50 inch smasung plasma I had with same resolution. At 1920x1080 it gets a little weird and is hard to make out a few things but that's cause I sit 12 feet back...
With that said, I don't know how the Mitsubishi DLPs compare. I've heard that the LED Samsung ones were the holy grail of DLP TVs. No rainbow, no ghosting, no bulbs...etc.
