Which LCD monitor support 3DBD? Seems none can be choosed by now.

I mean, NVIDIA 3D Vision is just one of the earlier 3D display implementation.
By now the 3D-TV should follow the HDMI v1.4a stereoscopic format right? (those side-by-side, top-bottom, etc).

The monitor should be basically the same, just it must able to recognize those stereoscopic signal besides of page flipping.
How come none of the 3D monitor can support them by now? This should be a firmware upgrade issue right?

This issue hesitated me to get a 3D system by now. The display devices (including monitor and goggle) are now matured or standardized yet.

Hi there, i have 3 x Acer 23.6 inch 120 hz monitors with 3d vision in surround and i have played the "cloudy with a chance of meatballs" 3d blu ray in 3D. The 3D does work and the monitor is supported however i am having other problems which are unrelated to monitor support. So to answer what i think your question was.... This Acer http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....rodid=MO-049-AC is supported for playing blu ray 3D movies.

Dont know if that answers your question or not, or if that gives you some clarity as to wether or not you want to buy a 3d vision setup. If you do buy the setup, only use the 258.96 whql drivers as the 260 betas cause my computer to instantly blue screen when i try to play 3d blu ray disks. The 258.96 whql's do work, but the video is choppy and lags behind the sound. I am yet to post this problem on this forum. Infact im going to do it now!! Any questions give me a shout!

or i should say "if there is LCD monitor can work with HDMI v1.4 stereoscopic format".

3D vision is just one of the earlier 3D display implementation that only supported by nvidia.
by now 3D-BD player are using HDMI v1.4 stereoscopic formats that different with 3d vision.
So if i plug a sony/philips 3d-bd player to acer gd245hq, it will not display 3d at all. only a nvidia-gpu PC can play 3d to it.
so obviously the usage is limited.

You can watch 3D Blu-Ray if you have a Blu-Ray drive on your computer and use software like PowerDVD10 or TotalMedia Theater 3.

I think you will find those monitors only support 3d 120Hz over the DVI output and not the HDMI one. I think they are only HDMI 1.3.

yes that's what I would like to find out. Seems the 3D monitor by now only work with nvidia PC. ordinary 3DBD players are not supported. But I believe the hardware are very similar. just need to add the "HDMI v1.4 stereoscopic format" in firmware level then should be ok? (Acer GD245HQ said will update firmware for this but including their long-living bug of overdrive and brightness still no new firmware released for almost a year)
