Hello,
I signed up for the evga loaner program to test 3d vision. They sent me the monitor and glasses, however the glasses did not come with a single cd, no installation cd nor was there a demo cd. No need to fret, i could just download the newest driver off of nvidias website... WRONG! The newest driver the 1.07 version i believe it is, would not work at all. In fact the newest driver couldnt even pass the test 3d application test found in the nvidia control panel under set up stereoscopic 3d. Hell it wouldn't even run the set up wizzzzzzzard.... wowwwwww. Every time i tried to run the test the glasses would flicker in sync with the flickering green light on the transmitter. I would keep getting a warning sign... Warning attemp to run stereoscopic 3d in non-stereo mode or something to that effect. Seriously nvidia? Seriously?
So, four and half hours later i finnally fixed it by uninstalling the 1.07 driver and installing the first driver version 1.0. This driver can be found here:
So Five and half hours later i finally got it up and running. The directions that came with the glasses were shoddy at best. The instructions left out some key points like oh i dont know... maybe the fact that you have to install both the geforce driver as well as the 3d driver... Who knew it would have taken me six and half hours of troubleshooting before i got it up and running. Did anyone else have this problem, i know im not the only one. This is a great product and the 3d really looked amazing, but seven and half hours of troubleshooting should not have happened if nvidias quality control was up to par.

Yeah I didn't have a problem at all. Usually the setup program won't run if the primary display isn't 3D ready (120hz.) I just ran the 1.07 setup file. It updated the graphics driver, rebooted, installed the 3D driver and entered the setup program. Not sure why you had issues, probably due to lack of documentation? We all received a quick-start guide with our glasses (came in a green and black foam box) that detailed the driver installation process.
For future reference though, the 3D vision drivers are tied to a specific nvidia driver. If one us updated, the other is updated at the same time. Maybe it's EVGA's fault for not including the proper documentation.

I guess most people see the "Launch.exe" file and run it instead of using device manager to install it. The problem with your installation was between the keyboard and the seat.

It took you 5.5 hours to figure out how to properly install the drivers? Really Chav3z? Seriously? And then you come on this forum bitching about a product you didn't even pay for? I found nvidia's documentation on the product and installation to be adequately verbose. I guess they need another version for the sub-80 IQ users.

Tough crowd here. Thanks OP for at least reminding me to delete myself from the EVGA loaner program since I just scored 3D Vision on Ebay. But honestly OP if you downloaded the drivers off the web site there is nothing that isn't explained right on the download page. This is coming from somebody that only got the product today and never had drivers loaded until 1.07.
I have the Sammy DLP that isn't "fully" supported (thanks to Samsung) and I can say I am pretty impressed with Nvidia's product right now. Not so impressed with the limitations I see in the few games I've tried. I've "only" got a 9600 GT (which I would like to keep since it is passive cooled which is nice for an HTPC), and I can see that I may run into problems. . .

"Your" welcome.
Are you friggin kidding me. First off i signed up for the loaner program for the sole purpose of testing out a new product. If you wanted to have someone test a product dont you think you should give them all the necessary parts to do so. Second of all, technically i am paying for this item. I get to use it for two weeks and i have to pay to ship it which will probably be between $30-50 to ship. My whole purpose for this post was to see if anyone else had troubles with the 1.07 driver. To answer your question i sat there for hours troubleshooting, seriously... Maybe if i was given all the installation cds in the first place i wouldn't have ran into any problems. In no part of the quick start up guide did it say anything about installing the nvidia driver first, what it does say is to install the 3d driver, but if you install just the 3d driver you get a non functioning error message mess. Dont even tell me the quick start up guide is as clear as day. No installation cd, coupled by unclear directions and a supposedly new driver that doesn't work had me very frustrated. Why you even responded to my post in the first place makes me greatly question your iq score. I was really only looking for people with similar problems, not donkeys like you.
P.S. Having received a product with missing components and having to listen to all the idiots on this forum has left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not be purchasing this item for those two reasons. Nvidia 3d FTL!

Why don't you call Nvidia tech support next time instead of spitting piss and vinegar all over the forums as a first resort.

What ever happened to people offering help on the forums? That's what they're there for. A little less bashing and a little more helping would be nice. ;]
People need to know what they're getting themselves into before they fork over $600+. Me calling tech support solves nothing. The public has a right to know about problems people have run into. That is my sole reason for posting on this forum. Does anyone else have any more stupid questions for me?
Really, a new product came out that might take you hours of troubleshooting? No way, it cant be. ROFL!

I'll be the first to say that there are some jackasses on the forums that instead of just ignoring a post have to put their two cents of bashing in. Bashing is unacceptable in a forum that supposed to be helpful.
Now, if you did read your quick start guide (since you said it did have the QSG,) the first installation step on section 4 says to go into programs and features and remove your old nvidia graphics drivers and install the ones from the driver package.
Sections 1-3 are illustrations of what you should have received in the box, and talks about the equipment. Installation didn't start until step 4. So clearly you didn't read it at all, even before posting the "no part of the guide said anything about the nvidia driver first."
The above statement that you were looking for people with similar problems is complete trash. You started a post that the topic completely bashes a driver update, then proceed to say how lousy they were and provide a link to the original file that came with the glasses.
No matter how you spin it, you came to the forum pissed off and aggravated because you didn't follow the clearly outlined installation steps and you blamed the manufacturer instead of yourself. If you were looking for those with the same problem, you should have said it in your post or in the topic. Starting a thread with "total garbage" really says a lot about your state of mind and attitude.

I must have read that stupid quick setup about ten times. Let me tell you what mine says cause clearly we have different guides.
"Insert the Geforece 3d vision software and manuals cd. The welcome screen displays explaining what is taking place. The install shield is going to install the Nvidia windows vista stereoscopic 3d drvier on your computer." This is of absolutely no help to me. So when the install screen comes up i have to install the 3d driver? Wrong! The install screen is missing a labeling of "step one" and "step two." This is what i have a problem with. Understand?? Clearly outlined installation steps?? Nah i dont think so.
Hell yea i went into this forum pissed off. You would too if you were given a task with some of the worst directions you have ever seen. I would fight this tooth and nail. I know im right. Crappy directions call for a crappy post. That's how that works =/
Edit: I was in fact looking for others with the same problem. Did i not ask that in the original post? If anyone else had this problem? Please forgive me for trying to help out my fellow man by both putting up a driver that actually works and warning people about what they are about to get into. I really feel like a horrible person. Btw, Im done with this post, im done with this forum, and i would never in a million years think about buying this product. This is quite possibly the worst forum on the face of the earth. Yea that just happened, lol.

Sorry about your terrible experience, but all I can say is, it's your loss... Not buying a product because your testing program didn't have spoon fed directions, is a pretty stupid reason. If you feel that's a reason not to buy it, more power to you, but as I said it's your loss. If you downloaded the 1.07 driver CD and had simply ran the launch.exe, it would have given you the spoon fed directions. Could not have been more simple, it installs the graphics driver, reboots then installs the 3D driver. Tells you when to plug in the emitter and goes into the testing app. Although removing the previous driver is not absolutely required, it's always best to remove a previous driver before installing a new one. Hey, what can I say, we are playing games in the best 3D technology available, and your not..
PS: NEVER go into a forum pissed off.. If you hadn't started out by bashing a product to start with, you would have gotten much better responses. There is NOTHING wrong with the newest drivers, the fault is totally yours.
This is the simplest product I've ever installed in my life, I'm unsure about the quick start guide because I never read it. Steps I followed:
1. Connected hardware (plugged usb cable into my computer and 3d hardware)
2. Inserted CD
3. Ran launch.exe
4. Clicked Next button following directions on screen and answering questions until I saw 3d.
Some steps for you to follow:

This driver can be found here:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_3D_vision_CD_1.0.html
Your welcome ;]
So Five and half hours later i finally got it up and running. The directions that came with the glasses were shoddy at best. The instructions left out some key points like oh i dont know... maybe the fact that you have to install both the geforce driver as well as the 3d driver... Who knew it would have taken me six and half hours of troubleshooting before i got it up and running. Did anyone else have this problem, i know im not the only one. This is a great product and the 3d really looked amazing, but seven and half hours of troubleshooting should not have happened if nvidias quality control was up to par.

I think Qazax is a pretty cool guy. eh kills aleins and doesnt afraid of anything.

I've "only" got a 9600 GT (which I would like to keep since it is passive cooled which is nice for an HTPC), and I can see that I may run into problems. . .

2. look in mirror
3. try to figure out what steps 1 and 2 have to do with one another
