I develop a few applications by 3D graphics/game engines such as OpenInventor, OGRE or Unreal. Can I enable 3D stereo effect simply by NVIDIA control panel while an application is activated?
Our system equips with elements as below:
Shutter glasses: StereoGraphics
NVIDIA graphics card: Quadro FX 3450/4000 SDI
Driver: 163.14 (7z SFX)
OS: Windows XP

I am afraid I do not know anything about the Quadro or StereoGraphics glasses.
Most people use the Edimensional shutter glasses.
The best graphics card that has the most compatability is the 7900 series of Nvidia cards.
The drivers I have most luck with were the 91.31 stereo and regular drivers pair.
I recall playing Unreal in 3d so hopefully you can activate the 3d in similar games based on that engine. I do not know anything about the other engines you mentioned. Sorry I cannot be much help.

Thank you, it is helpful. Here is a further question.
As long as we have Edimensional shutter glasses, 7900 series of Nvidia cards and associate drivers, does it work for LCD monitor? Or does it work ONLY for CRT monitor?
What is the min. refresh rate is required? (60Hz, 85 Hz....)

Once you are using LCD, you are in big trouble. It's just not going to work well with LCD shutterglasses.
Fortunately, there are other solutions like 3D monitors and HMDs. Maybe NVIDIA will support 3D HDTVs too, but there is no word on that.

Only CRT monitor, 100Hz is recommended, 85Hz will do, 60Hz is not good.
(eDimensional has a 3D driver for use with LCD monitors but it is no good from what I've heard)
Use 91.31 ForceWare + 91.31 3D
or
163.71 FW + 162.50 3D with these registry changes:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies] "ContextUIPolicy"=dword:00000001
and (from Likay's post):
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies]
"ContextUIPolicy"=dword:00000001
"TaskbarUIPolicy"=dword:00000002
"CplGroupUIPolicy"=dword:00000003

IZ3D, which will display Direct3D content. Monitor and company name are the same. About $1,000. Has a smattering of not-too-lengthy reviews around the web.
ZM-190M LCD monitor by Zalman, the same people who make the computer cooling devices. I do not know yet what all the requirements are for this one (they haven't written back yet). Also, there have not been any real in-depth reviews on it yet. It was speculated at a show when it was first presented this year that it would be around $500.
Both use simple polarized glasses (but different technology) to see the stereo effect and would probably be easier on the eyes than shutter glasses.
If anyone finds more info on this or any topic related to viewing stereo using LCD, or has information on viewing real-time stereo while modeling in a 3D content-creation program, please post here.
