How-To: Wticher 3 - 3D Surround - get good SLI scaling
This is no spam! But because it involves:
- 2D/3D Surround
- SLI
I will also post it here:

Nvidia c ri ppling kepler cards to make the 900 series more attractive is known for quite some time now.
I really do not know who else can support Ng reedia , after everything that happend . After 3.5 gb sc am f iasco , nvidia has keeping sec ret until last m0 ments,, and as you can see a new sca ndal with Kepler drivers , which are del ibe rately decreased performance especially in games Witcher 3 , Project Cars only to promote Maxwell and Kepler convinced users to upgrade . After thousands of complaints in the whole net and their forum ,they had released Kepler fix driver 353.06 with which the individual cards received up to ca 10 fps more in the witcher 3 etc ...
Classic software sc ams PC gaming has always been sh ady . For example i am using Fermi chip , the old GTS 450 graphics card and only with the 344.47 icafe drivers i have the best fps on average 3 fps more in all games , for example the dark souls scholar of first si n even +6 fps, in Unigine valley 120 poents higher scores , only this version of the driver , the others are a disaster .
NVIDIA is by far the most vicious companies in the world , Intel is a little baby compared to them .
Even old Fermi is affected, and M anuelG knows that,

Hatred gameplay and performance test on my old faithful single Ge Force GTS 450 gpu.... Game version 1.0 Very nice descent performance and nice game settings... Keep in mind that i am recording with Bandicam so i am losing a few extra fps. I am usually hovering about 26-27 fps. There are some fps droops though..Game is poorly optimized and very demanding quite sad for this type of game. Game is using 99 percent of gpu core and 1016 MB VRAM checked in MSI Afterburner 4.0..But for 150 eur gpu back in 2010 this is still very good it is playable.
"...on my old faithful single Ge Force GTS 450 gpu" - what the hack are u talking about ? are u sick or some kind of a conspiracy believer ? go buy a new card or just relax and get some fresh air. Everyone knows they do so: no money from us - no money for development, i agree with that. But as for The Witcher 3, i didnt get any fps boost on my GTX670SLI with the newest or previous drivers (Kepler, right?) i get my 35-45 fps on very high/ultra using 3D Vision, this is quite enough for me.
This is a quick how-to make Witcher 3 Work in 2D/3D Surround and get SLI to WORK properly.
- Tested on 2x780Ti and 2xTitans(Classic)
- In Surround normally you see 50-60% load per GPU ?
- Is your FPS bad? around 15-25 fps?
Then you need to do the following:
- Make sure you PLUG ALL YOUR MONITORS in ONE GPU!!! (not 2 monitors in GPU1 and 1 monitor in GPU2).
- That is right! Make sure you plug all 3 Monitors in the SAME GPU (primary GPU)!!!
- Result you will get 40+ FPS in 2D Surround:)
- SLI scaling will be 80-90% per GPU.
(You might need adapters for all 3 monitors though...)
- This is a BUG in the driver regarding Surround THAT IS FOR A LOONG TIME! But only now I noticed this behavior in an explicit way!
Experiment away and let me know if is working for you:)
Out of curiosity, what was the last good known driver that still allowed you to have the displays connected to both GPUs while maintaining good performance?

Well.. This is the only game that does this;)) and is related to the SLI bits it uses. If I use different SLI bits I get perfect scaling but flickering as hell...
Also in other games like Lords Of the Fallen In SLI all effect render perfectly... In Surround some effect render in one eye as it renders in single GPU (unless you put all monitors on same GPU) then SLI works perfectly...
There is ONE important thing to note:
- In normal SLI: You have one GPU that makes the "present". The other one just renders (internally)
- In Surround (2+1 Monitors) both gpus must make the present + rendering (internally)
- In Surround (3) one GPU makes the present while the other GPU just helps the rendering (internally). I expect this is why the difference;))
Like I said 99% of the time this isn't an issue;)) however 1% it is like I discovered;))

What about 3-way or 4-way sli? Nvidia control panel does not allow all 3 monitors to be connected to one GPU. Does anyone have any success with 3d surround at playable framerates, as there still seems to be a surround sli bug at least on my kepler 780 ti's. Anyone with maxwell cards, especially 980 Ti's or Titan X's have any decent framerates on 3d vision surround please let me know? This is a game that I would either hold off playing until the sli surropund hopefully gets patched/nvidia driver fixed, or I would upgrade to a suitable maxwell gpu to get 60fps in 5760x1080 in 3d vision surround.
Great work with the 3d fixes by the way. Much appreciated.
