Hello, i am currently having some problems with getting my projector to work with 3D. I have tried VGA to VGA connection, and VGA to DVI with a convertor. On the setup wizard for 3d it either says, 'Zalman display not supported' (Which makes no sense as it is not Zalman) Or 3d ready display not found. After 6 hours of trying to get it to work (No Hyperbole) I just decided to ignore it, skip all the 3d tests and medical tests, and guess what? It worked,(Kinda).
After doing that, i am now able to play WoW and TF2 in 3D, however, Portal 2, CSS, and UT3 i am unable to get working. They both have 2 outlines, giving the impression its working, however they are very shaky, and the 3d does not work, i still see 2 shaking images through the glasses. I would appreciate any help with either getting it to set up properly, or getting these games to work.
Thank you for your time.

Hmm for me VGA gives less trouble than the HDMI, still could be worth a try. I did have a vga cable at first though that just didn't work, it probably was too long for a 120Hz signal to work properly, with a shorter VGA cable it works fine though :)

On the projctor options for 3d there is no option fo nvidia, just dlp, do i use that? Also i still cannot get the setup to work, but all games work now except portal 2

Well if you see my 'sig' I use a Optoma projector and not your Acer H5360 ...
So don't know what option you should set on your projector,..someone else should answer that question...
On the Optoma you have the option to set it to 3dvision...
You don't need to set the projector to a 3d mode, just need to feed it 120Hz.
EDIT: Mine does have a nvidia 3d setting, but I heard it isn't in some firmware version, in any case all it does is change the colors to match the nvidia glasses better and give annoying messages. I never use that option.

Yes, too long of a vga cable will end up giving you a poor signal, I maxed out on a 25 foot vga cord. Also, for whatever reason, about 4 months ago my dvi <dvi to vga adapter> vga to 5360 started giving me odd colors and other issues. In any case, I went from dvi <dvi to hdmi adapter> hdmi to 5360 and it works fine.
I agree with previous posts, don't use the 5360 Nvidia 3d menu option. Ignore it.
I know it's obvious, but make sure you have your games set at native 1280 X 720 for the projector.
Is the projector new? There was a firmware update that I had to send my projector back in for about 8 months ago as I purchased it when it came out. They will do this for free. The primary issue was when I had it inverted, it would shut down.
I use mine a lot so if you still have problems, give us more specific startup process and computer driver details as when this thing works it's great. the blueray 3d with cyberlink is incredible.

Hi, I just bought a Acer h5360 and the 3dvision glasses kit (free duke nukem yay), I hooked it to my Nvidia GTS 250 using a DVI->HDMI adapter -> long hdmi cable -> h5360. Works great in 2D but if I try 3D it switches between 1281x720 and 1280x720 randomly, it displays (92.5hz 120hz) almost like its not getting 120hz. If I turn off the 3D stuff, unplug the 3dvision emitter and then in Nvidia Cpanel change from 60hz to 120hz I get blue line artifact blinkies all over the screen. So it doesnt seem to be able to pull off 120hz in native mode from that example and that cant be right. I thought it was because I used the dvi->hdmi adaptor but you said yours works ok with same. Also anything I try in 3Dvision is plagued by red dots all over (when its working the best that is). Even the setup wizard had crazy red/blue crap all over it (but the 3d box worked and the flying nvidia logo test was simply spectactular and flawless. Had it running in duke nukem, looked kinda cool but feels all wrong and again red dots everywhere... I was able to play maybe 15 minutes before it started shifting from 1281->1280->1281 so fast I had to alt tab out and kill the process.
So far 3DVision with the Acer 5360 had been total fail for me with even the few moments of awesome I did get to see tainted by crazy artifact looking red thingies everywhere. Also, I snapped some screens from inside Duke Nukem Forever and they were flawless so the dots and stuff must be the projector having issues either with 1) my poorly delivered video signal or 2)displaying the 120hz its being supplied.
I'm not pointing finger, i really dont know and would appreciate any insight into this.

I had one 5 meter long HDMI cable that was not good enough for 720p 120hz. Use short HDMI cable (3 meters max) to test if it's cable that is not up the task and after that use different adapter. How long is you glasses emitter cable BTW? it can give all kind of problems too...

When you talk about your output hz, you talking about the square display in the upper right of the screen as it cycles the on the screen?
Just curious, have you tried the dvi/vga option at all?

About the hz, yep thats what I meant the little box that comes up (from proj upper right) that tells you the res/hz when you switch.
I havn't tried dvi->vga I guess I just figured hdmi was better. I just went and found the box for the hdmi cable (its brand new) and its an Inland brand, 25 foot, HDMI gold cable, version 1.3 on the box. I thought it was 10' before but I guess its a bit longer, perhaps that is the issue. I have the projector behind my couch and the computer is in front by the screen with the cable running under a small rug. The emitter cable is the normal length that comes in the 3d kit(about 2 feet(i'm using the shorter one)). I really haven't had any issues that feel like its the glasses/emitter ... since the artifacts show up on the projector output without the glasses, the glasses themselves seem to work ok, if I could just squeeze out the right signal. These cables are a bit pricey so I'm glad you guys can help me confirm before I go buy more that are too long. If I use dvi->vga adaptor and long vga cable... will I still be able to get 720p res over that?

I see that you got the flying Nvidia logo just fine. Good.
Regarding vga or hdmi, I used dvi>vga adapter for a couple years on various boxes and lengths just fine, then one day about 3 months ago, the colors went out of whack (on only that one machine), so I switched to dvi>hdmi. This works and continues to work fine on a 25 foot hdmi cheapo cable. If you can, try shortening cables and see if it is still a problem. If you still get the NV flying logo, it doesn't seem like a wire problem but potentially a game setting. You probably have this installed in position already so probably a pain to try a short, cheap vga, but you may have to.
You're using dvi>hdmi adapter that came with the card?
Regarding the usb wire to IR emitter, yes, usb (2) usually max out after about 30 feet or so, but if your screen is messed up, obviously, this has nothing to do with the emitter.
I usually keep my screen resolution at 1280X720 @ 60 hz, the screen is a lot brighter.
In regard to your "92.6 khz 120 hz" comment. When I test the flying NV Logo and the screen flickers for a few moments while going from 2d to 3d, in the upper right hand corner of the projection, I get a box that says:
HDMI 1280 X 720
92.6 khz 120 hz
At that point in time, I get my 3d flying logo.
When I hit <esc>, in the upper right hand corner of the screen, in the box I get:
HDMI 1280 X 720
44.7 khz 60 hz
At that point in time the screen goes back to regular 2D.
Not sure exactly what that is in regard to but those numbers coming up, but 2d to 3d to 2d work fine with those numbers showing.
If you can get the flying logo, then my guess would be game/program settings, which maybe if you look at or post Duke 3d settings you might find something.
Keep trying, it can be tough at times setting all this stuff up, but darn worth it.

So don't know what option you should set on your projector,..someone else should answer that question...
On the Optoma you have the option to set it to 3dvision...

EDIT: Mine does have a nvidia 3d setting, but I heard it isn't in some firmware version, in any case all it does is change the colors to match the nvidia glasses better and give annoying messages. I never use that option.

I don't have the time this morning but will late tonight.

Still not back yet, but one question, does the nvidia 3d test work in the Nvidia Control Panel? What's you hardware specs, motherboard, cpu, etc., and what driver version are you using?
