This is the first 3D gallery WSGF (widescreen gaming forum) is presenting of this great game, from the beginning of the game in Detroit. All screenshots have been captured running the 3D Vision solution that is posted and being discussed in this thread, in WSGF forums.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution (Detroit) - 3D Surround Gallery

As you can check, there are lots of pop-out effects in an impressive result. This is definetely real 3D, the way it should be in a 2011 PC game.
What you've done there is reduce the depth to near zero, then bumped the convergence so that the lighting sorta lines up. An acceptable work-around only for those that can stand near-zero depth. Personally, I play at 100% depth :D Will be waiting for a better work-around or an official fix before I play this one through.

Why are we assuming it will be fixed to work with 3D Vision. There are so many games that are not 3D compatible and thew developers do nothing to fix it. I suggest we all take this as one of those games and move on to something worth our money and effort.

Well a pessimist attitude NEVER helped anyone... Lol

But in all seriousness... we are "Assuming" because a moderator, representing Nvidia, has said that they are actively working with the developer to make it work with 3D-Vision.

The game is also ALREADY designed to work in 3D... As in... the actually in-game rendering engine natively renders the 3D itself.... So it's not really "one of those games". They actually
put more effort into the 3D than most developers.

I tried that fix and then I finished the game with 2D surround. playing surround with zero depth+high convergence, the game looks pretty much the same in 2D and 3D. furthermore, there's a huge performance penalty for 3D surround. the game is playable maxed out 2D @6090x1080(bezel corrected, 2xGTX580 3G), but not the case in 3D.
as of now, in addition to the "maybe" better 3D fix, Nvidia driver team at very least should work on raising the 2D surround performance in the next driver.

Andrew, ca n you provide any information? How are the negotiations with Eidos/Nixxies going on? Are they going to add support for 3D Vision? or is it to early to put these kind of questions? I am asking in the name of the community so at least we know what to expect...

Best Regards,
Helifax

Thanks for the upload 3Dizzy.

The 3D looks really flat. When Denton presses up against the wall. It reminds me of what happens when you keep your finger on the lower convergence button until nothing happens anymore. It looks like how ME2 looked after lowering the convergence enough to get its lense flares to line up properly before someone modded them out.

If you look at your other videos on You tube there is defo more depth on them.

Is this the quality of the 3D?

Thanks

I hope 3D patch comes out soon coz right now, 3D just looks awful. i am gonna go play crysis 2 first since i haven't beat it yet(I was waiting for dx11 patch and never played it up till now). I hope 3D patch comes out by the time I come again.

That 3D is horrible. Is that the AMD version or the Nvdia "hack"?

If thats what it looks like in-game, prepare for another wave of "3D is just a bad gimmick" users.... holy ****.

There are three problems with this game as far I can gather, none are 3D related:

1. Square Enix pushing console release
2. Lead platform suckage, should been PC then xbox, then once time permits PS3
3. release date pushed back like 4-5 times

Now everything, everything appears hindered by consoles, we got the port, what's especially awkward is that while PS3 positioned as a 3D console, not even tried to use their virtual 3d crapty this time.

& now crapty mega-publisher Square Enix turns eidos montreal into crapty mega-developer. Well, good luck.

I'll just wait for mods for this console ported mass defect.

Anyway, be patient...I THINK.... I am on to something here;))...wish I only had more time...but! still I think I might "correct" some of the issues seen in 3D;))

And now back to the game:

I wonder if the game works properly in 3D on the so called AMD3DHD crap which isn't AMD tech in the 1st place..it's DDD and IZ3D.... AMD should stick to CPUs (which are actually very good and I always was a fan) ATI should stick to create Video Cards (HARDWARE only) and leave the drivers to someone else as for DDD & IZ3D with their once at 6 months update they should collaborate with nVidia or even learn from them...what means to provide ONCE a month a driver update! But noo everyone hates nVidia for a reson...(you can see this in the official thread @ Eidos)

So...I don't think they will be fixing anything for 3D Vision since they are busy with their console ports (or main platform).... It is up to us to do this. The sooner we understand this the better;))
As you are probably aware we have already rolled out two patches soon after release to deal with issues we wanted to address as quickly as possible, after we found out that they existed. We are now looking at additional fixes for issues that some players have been experiencing, and on top of that we are also looking at adding some additional features on the PC side that we noticed some players would really like to see.

These additions are more involved as the first patches, and due to this take longer as those initial patches. We need to test them carefully to ensure we do not introduce any new issues.
Found it over here at their forums. Seems promising too.

lol I do NOT buy that.

When has the PC crowd NOT wanted high resolution textures?

When have they NOT wanted ALL their native hardware features supported?

lol we "discovered" that people would really like us to actually FINISH OUR GOD DAMN GAME before we release it.....so we are working hard (post release) to add these in.

What a joke!
