Constant crashing in all games - Windows 7 64bit
Hi guys,

I registered so I could start this topic and hopefully get some help on the issues I have been having.

I have Windows 7 64bit and I have been suffering constant crashes in all the games I have been playing with 3D vision activated.

Batman: AA - crash to desktop and BSOD every 10mins or so
Fallout 3 - freeze and crash after about 10 seconds in game
Bioshock 2 - mostly fine but will get an occasional crash after about an hour or so
Mass Effect 2 - this game is the best but it still occurs occasionally

These all happened with a GTX 260 core 216 (overclocked and stock) with the 196.21 drivers and 3D vision 1.2.

Interestingly I just installed a new GTX 285 and the crashes occur in exactly the same places.

I have reinstalled the drivers over and over again (correctly cleaning them) but that hasn't made a difference.

Have there been known issues with the new nvidia and 3d vision drivers? Im going to try version 1.11 that shipped with my glasses to see if that makes a difference.

Note that all these games run flawlessly with 3D vision OFF.

My system for reference
Q9550 oc to 3.9 (max temp of 55c)
evga GTX 285
4gb g.skill ram
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
750w Corsair PSU
Samsung 2233rz
Asus P5Q Deluxe MB

Thanks,
Andrew

I have heard alot of issues with Asus P5Q Deluxe MB, not perticulair to 3D vision.

2nd I would try different RAM ( maybe try with 1 module and different brands )

3rd Reinstall Windows7

I would suspect a number of issues, with solutions including what you mentioned, but I have never had issues like this before. Everything runs fine with 3D vision disabled and I have been running Windows 7 happily error free up until these crashes.

Thats why I suspect it is to do with the 3D vision hardware or software. It really sucks because it is an amazing gaming experience. The crashes are really ruining it.

To add to this I installed the 1.11 drivers with the 190.62 display drivers and the same crashes occured. I am also running a firewire audio interface so I disabled that and used onboard sound to see if that was the issue but it made no difference. I have also found my new GTX 285 is crashing more frequently in Mass Effect 2 now. The display driver crashes and returns me to the desktop then back to the game (at super slow fps).

I had similar issue with games crashing, freezing and causing BSD. First I thought its related with 3dVison, but the same thing started to happen also in 2d.
I reinstalled my drivers - removed 1.20 and installed 1.18a with WHQL certification and problem seems to be gone. Im not 100% sure because I did it only yesterday and didnt play that long afterwards, only around an hour, but no crushes occurred.

Andrew,

Have you tried lowering the OC on your CPU? I say this because when I first OC'ed my CPU (which is the same as yours) I couldn't go above 3.10 GHz without causing BSOD occasionally in Windows 7 and it caused OS X to freeze shortly after booting unless I lowered the OC. It could be a number of things, of course, but this is a possibility.
