A simple query need a little help starting 3D vision
Hey I'm using a Geforce GT430 and it tells me it is a 3D compatible card. Obviously this is a great thing but I have no idea how to set it up. It came with a 3D installer but when I open it I'm faced by a large list of options and have no idea which to pick. In fact I have no idea how to get it working, the only products I have found relating to 3D vision are 3D kits which show a pair of glasses, a a IR emitter and the packaging. Do I need to buy one of these or just a pair of glasses? When I open the installer it gives me these options: pro hub glasses, wired glasses, discover glasses and the IR emitter and glasses.
Forgive me if I am completely wrong but the discover glasses icon is the traditional red and blue lens glasses of which I have several pairs. The strange thing is however, I don't see how my computer needs any software installed for glasses that use anisotropic filtering; considering the game Minecraft has an option that will simply fill your screen with red and blue when you activate it. Although when I tried my glasses with the option it worked very poorly.
But anyway I'd just appreciate it if somebody could point me in the right direction, so I can get into 3D gaming as soon as possible.

I think the page you are wanting to look at is here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-home-users.html
Or you might check Wikipedia's entry here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nvidia_3D_Vision
To get into the full 3D thing you'll have to get some NVIDIA glasses (now just $99 it seems) and you'll need to get something to display the 3D - probably a 3D monitor which will be another $300 or more. It's also possible to use NVIDIA's "3DTV Play" software to get it working on a 3D TV if you've got one of those.
The 430 card probably won't be up to playing many games in full 3D, though I would hope it would work playing back 3D movies.
The red/blue style of 3D has one foot in the grave, I'm afraid. It might still be possible to get it working but I'm not sure how to do it.
