My 3D PC build

I'll be using the mitsubishi 73" C9 for a monitor, hopefully I can catch it on sale for 1100.

Good to go?
My advice is to go to AVS forums: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/ or google it, and look for the forum which covers those types of displays. You should be able to find a user thread for that TV, where you can read about user experiences with it, or pose your own questions. And find out how well it works with the nVidia 3D format.

But the spec says the C9 is HDMI 1.3. But a new 3D spec has just been created for 3D, which is HDMI 1.4. 3D is still pretty new, and they are still hammering out the details. There are a number of incompatible formats, checkerboard, side by side, etc. HDMI 1.4 is supposed to clear that up. Important - read this AVS thread and it will explain the different 3D formats: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1271054

nVidia 3D is the sequential format and requires a monitor capable of 120hz, to show alternating eyes at 60hz, or at least 100hz.

BTW, you can watch 3D movies with a Blu-ray drive on your computer connected to a monitor, TV or projector which supports 120hz. But you need software which will play 3D movies, such as PowerDVD 10, which costs about $100, though t you might find it cheaper on eBay. There's another 3D movie player for Windows which is cheaper, which I can't remember the name of.

Anyway, the big Cedia electronics show is in late September, and they are supposed to introduce a lot of new 3D stuff. Your best bet might be to wait for that before you buy. But right now, many of the 3D ready TVs on the market won't work with the new HDMI 1.4 spec, or will need a convertor box to work with new 3D blu-ray players. But the Mitsubishi says it works with 3D blu-ray, so maybe its fine. But thats what the AVS forum is good for. People discuss how well these TVs work with 3D, the problems they have, etc.
@ jjgreenwood, do you have an graphic tests comparisons to justify the x58/i7? Everything I've seen just puts it up about 10 fps. Again, I am admittedly ignorant to computers so I could have just been looking at bad studies or whatnot.

I priced the stuff you suggested and from what I see:

The i5 was only 50 dollars more then the Phenom II set up and I gained around 14 fps. The i7 is about 250 dollars more for 10 fps gained on the i5. ???
ah I'm in uk so pricing is different - i7 is £70 more than i5 and x58 is £50 more than that

Hi guys I've been reading and decided to try and switch up a few things and reallocate funds to components that need it the most, check out my newest idea and tell me what you think.
Again this is my first build so if you think I'm missing something just say so!
