I read that this game does not even support 16:10 correctly, but will be patched later, so don't expect surround to work...

Are you serious? Where did you read that?
Seems odd that they would design a new game engine from scratch and have problems rendering in the most common aspect ratio on the market.... ?!

Since we can play the game by midnight, is there any news on the new driver release ?

A Q&A I ran into when looking to see of Steam preloads:
The patience of the 3d vision community is astounding lol.....
Expecting an update for a game that hasn't been release yet is kind of silly guys. They didn't make game and we don't know when they were given final release of game to work with nor how long it takes. Give it a week.

Mine works fine on the 270.61. 35-50 fps on ultra (everything enabled/etc) except ubersampling (that one i guess is like supersampling so it would kill any card anyway).
Only problem i'm noticing is no matter what option i tried (low/med/high/ultra) the gpu usage stays at 99% making the card run pretty hot (75 degrees). Would appreciate any info as to what the "problems" regarding witcher + 270.61 are. Like i said before if it's only 3d related, couldn't care less.

Did you overlook the part of the original post that states Nvidia has been working with the developer?

I played The Witcher 2 for like 10 min (in 3D) and i think it looks already great. The performance is not the best. /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />
If you look over the battlefield with the sun and all ... stunning!

A Q&A I ran into when looking to see of Steam preloads:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1886338
Q: Any plans for native 16:10 support?
A: Yeah, we'd love to - in one of the updates.
It works 16:10 but has black bars.
