My name is Alex, an NVidia 3D Vision owner since February 2009, and I have created a new website I would like you all to take a look at. It’s called 3D Encounter and you can see it at www.3dencounter.com. It’s brand new, I just started it a few weeks ago, and I would like you all to share your opinions with me.
Here’s a breakdown on what I am trying to do with the site based on the major topics covered:
1) Home Page – Here is where news and new information will be highlighted. Come to the home page and you will see a list of recent and upcoming 3D Blu-Ray releases, the latest news, and a weekly pick of a 3D Blu-Ray Movie, Player and TV.
2) 3D Blu-Ray – Here we have a guide to what is out and coming out on 3D Blu-Ray. Click on a cover and read a description of the movie and a review if I have posted one. This is where I really hope to solicit the opinions of people here on this forum. If you would like, each of you that have seen or own the movies listed can post your own comments and reviews in the Comments section for each movie. I have access to most if not all of the Blu-Rays listed, but I don’t want the website to just be a place for me to post my own opinion on each movie or documentary, I really hope for some interesting discussions and insights into your own views on the movies and their implementation of 3D. Please peruse this section in particular, and if you have any opinions to share in the comments, please feel great encouragement to do so. I would like these discussions to be very lively and this is the section I plan to spend the most time on.
3) 3D Blu-Ray Players and 3D TVs – Currently I only have links to Amazon listings under these two topics. My initial decision when I created the site was to cover hardware along with the software equally, but as I have grown the site, I enjoy the software end of it much more than the hardware so I may actually remove these two sections in the future. Let me know what you think.
4) NVidia 3D Vision – I have the 3D vision kit myself and love it, so this section will remain even if I decide to remove the other hardware related pages. I want people to know about this system and I have a link right on the page to this forum and to NVidias site.
5) 3D Cameras – Here also, I own a Fujifilm W1 and love it, so this page will remain even if the other hardware pages are removed.
6) 3D Books - Only Amazon links right now, but almost 100 books listed. Books about 3D and in 3D. Anaglyph, parallel, and cross-eye viewing books. I like this section and I want to expand it as often as possible. It works as a nice consolidation of 3D books available on Amazon without having to search all the different keywords necessary to find them. Any recommendations for books I don’t have listed are eagerly solicited.
7) 3D News – This section speaks for itself.
8) 3D Links – Small selection of links currently, but it will grow as I spend more time on it.
I don’t have a section on 3D Gaming yet and I’m not yet sure if I should implement one or not. I think this forum lends itself admirably to discussion of gaming in 3D and I’m not sure what a page on my site could contribute. I was thinking that I could make a section for each game where discussion on just that game would take place, much like my 3D Blu-Ray pages. But there are so many games that it could be prohibitively time consuming to implement, and I don’t know what kind of action it would see. If you have any suggestions, or feel you would like to see a section like that, please let me know.
Also, I don’t have any sections of 3D photos or videos. I’m thinking the best way to cover these two topics is to simply link to other sites in the links section. Or perhaps I could create a discussion forum just for people to post their images and videos. Once again, please tell me what you think and if you would like to see such a section.
So, in conclusion, please check out the site and you can post your criticism here or e-mail me directly at the e-mail address on the home page. Also, I would once again like to encourage all of you to check out the 3D Blu-Ray pages and post your comments and opinions on them.

I think we've got three websites focused on the question of how well various games work with 3D Vision in addition to this forum and the list from NVIDIA, I wouldn't worry about that.
The list of monitors/projectors is great! Kinda sad that it only goes to Amazon, though. Is Amazon paying you for this list?? Also, you might want a link to the 3D Vision system requirements so people can check the latest information from NVIDIA.
The links page is good but the rest of the website just looks like an advertising bonanza. No info of any kind, just links to lots of products.

Hi, thanks for your comments.
I agree on the gaming, I may create a page just for links of that nature.
The links are from Amazon only right now as that is the easiest way to link to the items. I will eventually add links to other places for a better pricing sample. The links do make money for me if someone actually buys something. Needless to say, the site is far too young for that to have happened yet.
Your last statement is why I am considering losing the pages on players and tvs. Really, short of linking to information on Amazon or other sites, I don't have any useful information to impart there.
As for the books section, I consider it more of a consolidation of what is available for purchase now, so I think it works. Frankly, it took hours to sift through search term after search term to find these books, and now you can easily look through what is available in a matter of minutes and get more information or buy with a click. I like it.
It's all new at the moment, so as I progress, it will have more and more useful information. If you have any other comments, don't hesitate to let me know.
