How can they blame NVidia? It's their own shaders that are wrong for 3D, not the other way round. Sounds like lazy BS to me.
Yeah, I know. I just said what they said. Developers are the ones that have to fix their own shaders. When VR takes off, maybe they'll reconsider. The first person mode is there, after all.

Just as expected AreaNet passes the buck to Nvidia. Maybe it wasn't very helpful that someone in the GW2 forum mentioned that the game works fine with Tridef3D and Oculus Rift and so it is Nvidia's part to update the profile. My only hope was that 2D gamer also have issues with the new engine and ArenaNet would offer us the option to play with the old engine. So R.I.P. GW2 ;( I have just started ESO but now I wonder if I should continue to play MMOGs at all. Too bad if there is always the sword of Damocles of an update that brakes a game You have put hundreds of hours into...

I won't be playing the expansion unless they fixed this and have left bug feedback to match, that answer is unmitigated bullshit. It has Stereoscopic options in the UI It's just the shadows that are broken though is it not? any chance for a community fix?

Well, back to ArenaNet on this one. It's up to them to fix the 3D rendering bug they have caused. When they may support Nvidia 3D Vision again is unknown. Nvidia Support Reference #150326-000310:
Hello Cesar, Thank you for the update. As the game developer has updated the patch for the game Guild Wars 2, support for 3D has been disabled, hence updating a new driver will not help this as the game is not supported on 3D. We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused. If there are any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me. I look forward to your reply. Best regards, Saleem, NVIDIA Customer Care

It's just the shadows that are broken though is it not? any chance for a community fix?
Some ground effects are broken, too. I'm a noob regarding shadow fixes. But the results when I have looked at GW2 with Helixmod were quite frustrating: proprietary game engine (not UR3, etc.), newer versions of Helixmod don't work (mouse moves to change the view not recognized by the game any more), thousands of shaders, no parameters, very short PS,... Maybe it could be fixed (Tridef can handle the shadows...). But we would really need an expert to take a look at this.

Today's patch got released (Build 48,276), which fixed most of the rendering issues in stereoscopic rendering mode. Still, a few issues remain, but I'm very happy to see progress.

So have to put shader on medium now. I hope they are going to fix that, only other thing I noticed was the target reticles. Otherwise really nice and unexpected.

Great! Now I have a big excuse to resume the game. I stopped playing after they broke 3D. Now it's even better than before that. Shadows at the correct depth :). After 10 minutes playing, the only remaining issue I saw was the map. Edit: the ground is black at many points with shaders at high.

It's really great that I can play GW2 again (using shaders at medium)! The only (annoying) issue I could observe were the broken target rings. As a hotfix I simply disabled its PS as I didn't want to cycle through thousands of VS to find a way to fix it. I hope Arenanet will fix it in the future. There is still the arrow above the name plate that indicates which target is marked. So far I couldn't observe other UI elements that are disabled by the hotfix. You can download my hotfix here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/3d4dd/GW2_disable_target_rings.zip. Extract it to ...\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\ and additionally to ...\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\bin\.

You're welcome ;) BTW please don't mention Helixmod in the official GW2 forums. ArenaNet is quite restrictive regarding addons, etc., and they could suspect Helixmod to be misused in PvP or WvW :(
