3D vision discover Changing colors
  1 / 2
Is it still possible to change the colour output for anaglyph glasses. I was running in yellow/amber - blue with the drivers released last december. Now with the one I downloaded yesterday I cannot get it to change trying all the methods I know of.

Red and blue is not an option because all I get is a red image and no 3d due to problem with my right eye (red and blue work if it is reversed although gives me bad head quickly) With the yellow\amber - blue I seem to have no problems other than normal colour loss.

I tried the shutter glasses but they made my right eye painfull (cant really explain, it just was not comfortable) I tried IZ3D drivers they work sort of but not aswell as Nvidia drivers I just cant get colors to change anymore (tried older drivers still did not work)

Anyone know how to get this working (previously did it with several registry hacks) or have drivers been chaged someway so I cant alter it even in the registry now?

I can’t give you a direct link, but I was playing around with 3D discover at one time and came across a forum post linking registry files you could run that would change the colors used for 3D. Try searching for something of that nature.

I have the registry files changed thats how I used to do it before, I got those from these forums. But it now just reverts back to red and blue when ever I start anything.

It is still possible but it's more like a torture.

First you have to start your favorite 3D-game. then you have to switch with Alt+Tab to the desktop.
Then you should have a registry file(*.reg) like this:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D]
"StereoAnaglyphType"=dword:00000000
"LeftAnaglyphFilter"=dword:ffffff00
"RightAnaglyphFilter"=dword:ff0000ff
You have to write this settings to the registry(doubleclick the *.reg file).
Then switch with ALT+Tab back to the game and it should be Yellow/Blue Anaglyph.

The StereoAnaglyphType brings back the "full" color.
And Left and RightAnaglyphFilter specifies the color of the glasses.

"StereoAnaglyphType"=dword:00000000 = Full color
"StereoAnaglyphType"=dword:00000001 = 3D Vision Discover Colors(half color with green/yellow tint)
"StereoAnaglyphType"=dword:00000002 = black and white(greyscale)

"LeftAnaglyphFilter"=dword:ffffff00
"RightAnaglyphFilter"=dword:ff0000ff = Yellow/Blue

"LeftAnaglyphFilter"=dword:ffff00ff
"RightAnaglyphFilter"=dword:ff00ff00 = Magenta/Green

"LeftAnaglyphFilter"=dword:ffff0000
"RightAnaglyphFilter"=dword:ff00ffff = Red/Cyan
It is still possible but it's more like a torture.

I have now managed to get it to show as yellow blue, I have to manually edit the registry and leave it open in the background well playing or it chages back to red cyan.

I just get no 3D now because of some very bad crosstalk I can see both images on the blue side filter, the yellow side is fine. Anyone know how to adjust this in nvidia control panel to stop both images showing on the blue. I know it works because blue filter had no cross talk before and I used to get good 3d.

PS Thanks for the help so far.

Are you sure, that you use the settings I posted before? The Nvidia driver only supports exact this three color-combinations. If there are other colors given it simply switches back to Red/Cyan.
And if StereoAnaglyphType is not dword:00000000 only Red/Cyan will work.

So maybe your driver switched back to red/cyan and therefore you get ghosting on the Blue filter.

I have Yellow/Blue and Red/Cyan glasses here and have never had a problem. I'm using the driver v190.38 .

Hi again! Seing the same problem from a guy on the iz3d forums ;)
I've tested the iz3d drivers with amber/blue and it works for me. Colorcode algorithm might be different from a standard red/cyan but since a lot of other users made amber/blue filters working i think your glasses or displaysettings are wrong. Try see if the displaysettings are somewhat nulled or try switching to another display just in case the basecolors of your monitor doesn't match the glasses. I think some of these are the problems since two different softs doesn't seem to work with your setup.
Btw: What glasses do you have? For colorcode one lense is very dark blue and the other one almost brownish.
Sorry, but that's all i can think of.

Stereo must be turned on all the time.
You must start the application and when loaded in Red/Cyan you have to switch to desktop.
Now you must change the registry entries for Yellow/Blue.
And only when done this all you will get Yellow/Blue for this session.

When leaving a game and start it again(or another one) you have to do this procedure again.
Only letting the registry-editor open doesnt prevent the settings to snap back.

I made a small screenshot what it looks like on my system with Yellow/Blue. There should be less ghosts.

Thats exactly how it looks on my screen. The only way I can get it to filter the colors properly is by putting 2 pair of the glasses on and turning the brightness right up to get a picture through the blue filter for 3D effects, but then it makes my left eye hurt because of the brightness of the screen. I know before I had to muck around in the nividia control panel adjusting the colors to get it to work right, but I just cannot remember how I changed them.

Does the image Flint Eastwood posted look allright with your glasses? Since it's already in colorcode3d it should. Otherwise you definitely need to find the error in either the displaysettings or the glasses since the image looks allright using colorcode glasses. Just to be sure: Are you really using colorcode glasses or are they green/magenta or red/cyan?
Colorcode: Dark blue/Amber (more brownish actually), generally very dark lenses.
Green/magenta and red/cyan glasses are more brighter.

I agree with Likay. Go sure that you really have the Color Code glasses:

I got mine in Germany at 3D-Foto-Shop.

Selfmade Yellow/Blue glasses may have brighter filters. And that doesn't work correctly.

For my opinion Red/Cyan glasses are better anyway. But that belongs on personal percepts ;) .

I have the proper colorcode glasses and the image posted does the same ghosting on the blue side, that I am getting with games, I also tried the IZ3D drivers again and get the same ghosting. I dont think the problem is with the glasses more on the side of my settings in the nvidia control panel, I had to alter these before to get it to work properly, But I can not seem to find anything in the color options that work properly, I can seem to remove most of the ghosting in the blue eye but then end up with it on the amber side.

PS thanks for the help so far.

I think this is the problem as well. You can restore the drivers to factory values, be sure vibrance and color temps are at factory levels as well. One other way is uninstall the displaydrivers totally and select remove user preferences as well. It's a pity if you have saved profiles but i think these can be saved. Good pictures to try colorcode is of course on their site.
There are slight riscues that your graphiccards output or the cable has partially broken but this should be visible (strange nuancies) while using it in ordinary mode as well.
Have you tried with another monitor and cable if you have access to one?

I am certain its how my display is showing the colors, because if I mess around with the setting in the nvidia control panel, I can remove the ghosting on the blue filter but I then get the ghosting on the yellow/amber filter.

As far as the proper images on the colorcode website some of them work fine and some have bad ghosting, it tends to be the ones with less colour in the image that work fine.

I also cant even get the IZ3D drivers to work anymore, so it must be a problem with how my display is handling the image, but on the plus side IZ3D are in discussion to add proper colorcode to there drivers (but if it's anything like the time it is taking them to add dx10 never mind dx11 it could be along wait) thats why I would prefer to get it working with the nvidia drivers again, for the updates for broken games.
