Experimental update to 3Dmigoto for Win10 problems: https://github.com/bo3b/3Dmigoto/releases/download/1.2.10/3Dmigoto-1.2.10.zip One of the problems we have with development of a tool like 3Dmigoto is the vast array of hardware and software. Win10 brings nothing to the table except for a lot of software changes, essentially doubling our job for no benefit. This is one of the main reasons I argue for a dual-boot of Win7. We only have so much time, and supporting an extra OS means not being able to fix something else. If Win10 brought something worthwhile, like better performance, it'd be worth it. Instead, we get another warmed over unfinished UI from our good pals in Redmond. Nevertheless, there are occasions where I try to see if we can improve our compatibility with other OSes, especially if it helps make our code simpler. This change is one of those. It's a bit experimental, because it's a fairly extreme approach in the code. Still, in my testing of 12 some games both x32 and x64, it was successful on Win10. It also fixed two long standing problems, including an overlay crash. Another part of a project like this is lack of true QA. If you are motivated, you can help us all by running this version of 3Dmigoto against a bunch of games in your library. Win10 and Win7 both are interesting, Win 8 and 8.1 not as much, but all data is valuable. You should be able to drop this in overtop of any given fix and have it still work. Please try this, and report back any and all findings, either good or bad. Thanks in advance.

I agree with you about random links, seems kind of sketchy, since it's his one and only post. But as far as spying goes, almost all software spies on you to certain degree. Why do you think Punk Buster runs all the time in the background once you install it? As do other programs, when they have no need? Steam does hardware and software surveys, as well as monitors your gameplay and time. I imagine that they sell and share this information. I've also, always wondered if they keep information on pirated software. It was interesting to see how many people had torrent software in their surveys. Data mining is big business, just ask Google.

Anyone have any thoughts on the status or current status of Win 10 with 3D Vision? Are there still a lot of problems or issues to note? I am considering the upgrade from Win 7 -> Win 10 but somewhat apprehensive due to incompatibility issues. Let me know of any pains before I do anything...

I am dual booting windows 7 and 10. I am so glad I did. From my tests windows 7 plainly has better performance up to 10fps in some games. The ironic thing is you don't even need to forfeit your windows 7 license. Just clean install a downloaded copy of 10 from Microsoft, you do not need a Key and it disables nothing apart from the ability to customize the desktop colors ... I care not one bit. Strongly recommend following Bo3bs advice and setting up a dual boot. I haven't come across any deal breakers or major problems in 10 yet, apart from not being able to start SF5 in 3d mode with SLI But because of the performance difference I have been gaming on my windows 7 install for the most part. (ignore my sig, I am running latest driver)

Are you saying necropants, that games run less good on Win10? I actually thought there would be a performance boost. Now I am confused.

It's equal or less in pretty much every game i have tried and a bit less stable in general on 10. Was also dropping frames in Sf5 and random slow downs. I don't think you are going to be seeing the proposed improvements in the neaar future. Maybe in a couple of years.
For any given 'upgrade', I always ask two questions: 1) Is there something about the old one that is so broken you can't stand it? 2) Is there something about the new one that is so compelling you just gotta have it? If you can't say 'yes', then what is the point?
I really think to about upgrading this weekend to Win10. 1) Not really broken, but I heard / read that Win10 might handle better weak CPU and strong GPU. 2) Killer Instinct in the Windows Store is unfortunately the most compelling reason for me, as well as Quantum Break in the future; furthermore I would like to have more HDD / SDD partitions, etc. what is not limited under Win7. In the end I am still on the fence and not hundred procent sure...

All other games work like in Windows 7 so I`m happy with that. Go for it but try to keep Windows 7 as second system in any case.

@mrorange55 I would purchase another drive and caddy system. Clone your original drive to new drive upgrade one of the drives this way you always have access to the older OS. I use this system with 3 SSD now one for Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 Also I installed Steam, Uplay and Origin to my F:\ drive this way all the OSes have access to my games. Below is a link for the caddy I use http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Drive-Trayless-Mobile-Backplane/dp/B001CYZC38?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

Why the 8.1, I ask because I have an unused version still in the box that I was going to install and upgrade to W10. Is there a special feature with 8.1 that makes you keep it also?

Yeah I think I will clone my C drive just in case I would have problems with Win10. But maybe I am going to like a lot and will stay with it in the end. thanks
