SDL (Simple DirectMedia Layer) Based Games and 3dVision?
I wonder if it is possible to have 3dVision compatibility with SLD based games like Don't Starve. As it is not openGL, nor DirectX, according to others, i made a new topic for this. I did this because there were some others complaining that i asked this in a openGL topic. While this game is SDL 2.0 its has support for openGL I quote: "SDL 2.0 now has support for OpenGL 3.0+ with context controls" http://lazyfoo.net/tutorials/SDL/51_SDL_and_modern_opengl/index.php But anywayz, here's the question again :) Thanks in advanced

It's my understanding that SDL does not do any rendering, it just provides an interface to the renderer for things like keyboards. https://www.libsdl.org/ Simple DirectMedia Layer is a cross-platform development library designed to provide low level access to audio, keyboard, mouse, joystick, and graphics hardware via OpenGL and Direct3D. It is used by video playback software, emulators, and popular games including Valve's award winning catalog and many Humble Bundle games.

I suggest that you install MSI Afterburner and enable the in-game FPS overlay, it will show you the renderer in most cases.

If the game is 2D, there is no way to make it 3D. If it can be played in Stere3D, here are a few things to try. http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/03/how-to-change-3d-vision-profile-and.html https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/836462/3d-vision/guide-how-to-tweak-global-base-profile-settings-disable-info-text-fix-profile-saving-issues-etc-wip This game has been out since April 2013 and there are not any pictures on http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/ and the Steam Discussions are non existant, which to me indicates that the Devs are heavy handed and do not want the game discussed. So it probably isn't very good. http://steamcommunity.com/app/219740/discussions/ http://steamcommunity.com/app/322330/discussions/ If it does work in 3D, it would have a layered look like these games. Which most will agree is awesome. http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/s/?ss=Child+of+Light&type=images&x=15&y=9 http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/s/?ss=valiant+hearts&type=images&x=0&y=0 http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/s/?ss=ballpoint&type=images&x=0&y=0

As a last resort, if you can get it to trigger 3D Vision either by itself or via a Profile, you can try an extreme Depth hack, using a MonitorSize in the single digits. So far I've only found one game that this worked in, Legend of Dungeon https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/700536/, but it's also something I don't resort to trying very often.

@D-Man11, you have to look at the right side - General Discussions etc, more and more games do that nowadays.

Ahh, thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't noticed this before. I did find it odd, some devs are delete happy but not seeing any posts seemed extreme :P Searching the discussions for 3D didn't show anything useful. http://steamcommunity.com/app/219740/discussions/0/
Searching the discussions for 3D didn't show anything useful.
It stupidly ignores numbers... so it just searches for Ds. If you search for 3D Vision, it finds Ds and/or Vision... I usually just search for Vision. Even using quotes, "3D" or "3D Vision", just results in post with either "D" or "D Vision" in them.
