i tried downloading with Video Downloader Ultimate some free app..propably a spyware in myluck :D
got .mp4 video but for some reason the nvidias player does not play it.
i can play it directly on youtube@sbs mode. is there suppose to be a lag between left and right eye constantly ? because thats how i feel ?
I lookes already super good but if there is that delay i can´t game it, for me atleast it´s unberable the lag
Then skip the game fix... if this is unbearable for you...
I can't see any lag but then again, I don't have a high affinity to motion sickness... You seem to be a "lag detector" :)))
I just wondered if if there is something wrong with the video. As when i watched it streight from youtube
I felt acward all the time.
And
IF you watch the video (atleast the youtube version) onwards from the settings part and put the playbackspeed to slowest
The left image shows clearly how the boxes light up at different time when you move up and down in the menus.
Not on every move but often,
I don't know. I hope there is something wrong somewhere and it sucks if im the only one that feels wierd when watching small frame lag.
I hope it's just because if the MP4 that crappy program downloaded...
And I just wanted some advice what to use to download the file so I can try the video with nvidia player as you record it.

This is what i mean. in 1:50 you start to see action. I used the slover speed allowed by youtube 0.25
With that speed you can clearly see from the interlaced 3d picture the left and right channel varying from in synch to not synch. on normal speed on the video i see it constantly.
I propably have too fast brains.
I have a buddy that has immaculate pitch hearing, i always wonder "it must be awfull to hear people sing wron all the time"
https://youtu.be/x2i3TnMnSd8
quality aint great but get´s the job done.
switch this slowed down video to 0.25 and the lag is even more ovious

What are you you trying to prove my friend? Something that I stated from DAY 1 ???
THE WRAPPER IS USING SEQUENTIAL FRAMES!!! SOME SYNC BETWEEN FRAME WILL ALWAYS BE THERE! If can keep 120 FPS in 2D you will get 60 FPS in 3D with LIMITED EYE-SYNC (almost NON-EXISTENT). I am amazed that you can actually see the 8 MILLISECONDS delta time between Left/Right FRAMES...
OH BTW, when you are playing the game YOU CAN'T PAUSE LIKE YOU CAN DO IN A VIDEO (which is what you are doing here JUST TO SHOW HOW THE WRAPPER "SUX")
It's because people like you I CONSTANTLY THINK ABOUT stopping producing any KIND of 3D Fix. PEOPLE ARE SIMPLY NOT satisfied any more.... They always WANT THE "MOON" in their pocket... I remember when people were just happy with a game running in 3D with more than 50% of the stuff simply turned off...
You have NO IDEA how many e-mails/PMS I get with "Oh this doesn't work or that is bad or this colour is NOT TO MY LIKING"... It's getting tiring ONLY TO IGNORE this crap...
Like I kept saying for the last few posts... if is not working for you JUST SKIP IT! GO PLAY IT IN 2D OR PLAY ANOTHER GAME. THIS IS OPENGL NOT DIRECTX. Also, I am not NVIDIA with a FULL TEAM. I am ONE MAN with very limited time to do this...
You want perfection? GO BANG NVIDIA TO ADD OPENGL SUPPORT FOR THE DRIVERS! (I think you will grow old before you see it happen :( )
Sorry if it came out too harsh;) Not my intention to bash you or anything, but I "took" the opportunity to vent a bit;)) TRUST ME!!! If I could make it work better I WOULD DEFINITELY DO IT !!! I literally had to implement the whole thing from scratch! I wasted over 200 hours already trying to replicate the EXACT same frame from a different perspective without any real results... (Go figure why Nvidia said "Not supported"...)
Like I said;) If you have the game, wait for the Alpha fix and try it. If is not working for you, I am sorry but I can't do anything else...so skip it!
Edit:
But "Thank you" for the video and for this "in-depth" analysis... for something that WAS STATED BEFORE, but you chose to IGNORE. Slowing the VIDEO TO 0.25... REALLY MAN ??? HOW DOES THIS REFLECT THE REAL GAME PLAY ???
Do you plan to play the game at 1/4 speed or something?!?!?!
EDIT2:
FIX ABANDONED since it doesn't MEET the time sync when playing a VIDEO at 0.25 speed !!!

Easy there, Helifax. I don't think he meant any disrespect.
He is highly susceptible to it, and can see it on the videos. He was looking for an example to show you what he meant, which is the 0.25 speed test.

Hi bo3b,
Agree with that only:
DAY 1 of release, or even saying anything about the wrapper.... I stated IT RENDERS SEQUENTIAL FRAMES.
Now at 120 FPS that is 8ms between frames. Which translates in 8ms between left & right eye.
Now if you slow the playrate of a video to 1/4 you get 8*4 = 32 Ms and THAT IS WHY YOU CAN SEE IT in a video. Do you play it at that SPEED? NO, You don't...
So this "WHOLE" demonstration is for what ? For something that I stated from the beginning ?!?! I said on numerous occasions and explained in-depth why this is like this... But every now and then, somebody comes with their "demo"... While most of the times I explain it again (like I DID just a couple of posts before... even asked to WAIT for the actual fix and SEE if it works for him) the "video demo" just rubbed me the wrong way...
So, why should I release this? Nope...I maintain my stance.. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!
It works for me and THAT IS FINE! I will play and finish the game in 3D Vision with my "slow brain" as well:)))
I will save the community from "busting" their eyes with my "crappy software", as shown above :)
I didn't even released an alpha/beta/gamma/delta version of the fix and somebody already starts "bashing" it... In a way I find it amusing... and sad in the same time...
As a matter of fact I think I will stop making any "crappy software" 3d fixes at all :) This will also "save" the community on the long run from playing games and WILL DEFINITELY save me A LOT OF TIME (like the 200+ hours on Tomb Raider or the last 3 DAYS working on this game, worth of time...)
Maybe we should let this tech die... like Nvidia wants/wanted...

Helifax, just post it my man. He isnt lieing but he really needs to let it go. It does bother him, but he is like 1 out of however many.
There were a good deal of people with this issue especially with the 60 fps capped games[prior id tech] but it effected people ALOT less on the uncapped games. Not gonna lie, I had some difficulty with the low capped games but SOMA ran great. I mean it sucks about previous Id tech games but this ant one of them and so many people were happy with SOMA so why stop?
@Metaloholic
Just don't play opengl 3d vision anymore.
Yes, what your saying is true but it doesnt bother most people when running at a high frame rate.
Does it suck for you? Yes - theres no solution.
3D vision + opengl ant supposed to happen and this is the only solution and Helifax is only person capable of it.
You've already talked about it on Soma thread. Its not going to get better. Everyones eyes/brains are different as you were one to point out.

That's a pity. The framerate of this game is so fast I thought the alternate-frame technique might work quite well. I was curious to see just how well.
Anyhow, I personally really appreciate all the 3D fixes for games over the years, they've really made a huge difference to the fun I've gotten from so many games. So if you do quit, thanks heaps for the work you've done.

my first post here on the forums (but a long time follower) - sadly it has to be on this topic, but just felt i had to comment..
First off, thank you to helifax and everyone else here who are basically keeping this wonderful 3d vision alive! you guys do fantastic work, and your efforts are loved by the community!
i sincerely hope you will continue helping out the community helifax, and not get discouraged by such ill-timed comments about video lag etc. even if no bad intention was meant, i fully understand why this rubs you the wrong way. why would anyone post about issues even before a patch is released unless presenting a solution? when reporting issues, please have a bit of common sense and think about the timing before you post!
the game has been out for 1 day and already helifax has committed time for making a fix for DOOM, that is nothing short of amazing, and all you can contribute to this is complain about lag?
at this point encouragement is key, show support for the coders, let them know what they do for the community is awesome! i've gladly donated a few bucks to helifax for his efforts here, and really hope he will continue working on this patch and stay with the community! we need you guys!
all the best! cheers

This guys with fast brains......
I downloaded the movie to see what is the big fuss and it looks quite good. Wolfenstein for example had indeed problems with eye sync for me but it was still very playable. But on the game-play I watched now it is barely noticeable.
Helifax, release it for us, the guys with slow brains.

I have a buddy that has immaculate pitch hearing, i always wonder "it must be awfull to hear people sing wron all the time"

quality aint great but get´s the job done.
switch this slowed down video to 0.25 and the lag is even more ovious

He is highly susceptible to it, and can see it on the videos. He was looking for an example to show you what he meant, which is the 0.25 speed test.

Latest 3Dmigoto Release
Bo3b's School for ShaderHackers
Hi bo3b,
Agree with that only:

3D Vision must live! NVIDIA, don't let us down!
@Metaloholic

Anyhow, I personally really appreciate all the 3D fixes for games over the years, they've really made a huge difference to the fun I've gotten from so many games. So if you do quit, thanks heaps for the work you've done.

First off, thank you to helifax and everyone else here who are basically keeping this wonderful 3d vision alive! you guys do fantastic work, and your efforts are loved by the community!
i sincerely hope you will continue helping out the community helifax, and not get discouraged by such ill-timed comments about video lag etc. even if no bad intention was meant, i fully understand why this rubs you the wrong way. why would anyone post about issues even before a patch is released unless presenting a solution? when reporting issues, please have a bit of common sense and think about the timing before you post!
the game has been out for 1 day and already helifax has committed time for making a fix for DOOM, that is nothing short of amazing, and all you can contribute to this is complain about lag?
at this point encouragement is key, show support for the coders, let them know what they do for the community is awesome! i've gladly donated a few bucks to helifax for his efforts here, and really hope he will continue working on this patch and stay with the community! we need you guys!
all the best! cheers
I downloaded the movie to see what is the big fuss and it looks quite good. Wolfenstein for example had indeed problems with eye sync for me but it was still very playable. But on the game-play I watched now it is barely noticeable.
Helifax, release it for us, the guys with slow brains.
