Tips on Asus VG278HE ??
In a previous thread I documented that my ASUS 23" 3D monitor quit working. ASUS couldn't find me a replacement so I'm sending it in and they are supposed to fix it. In the meantime, I purchased the VG278HE and just received it last night. This is, of course, basically the same monitor as the VG278H, but without the built-in emitter, which I didn't need. I am really impressed by the lack of ghosting using the Lightboost feature! But I noticed that color reproduction isn't nearly as good as the 23" was. On "normal" mode it is kind of bland and low in contrast. Is this a common characteristic of the 27" monitors for those who know? I have been able to get it fairly good by using the "Theater" setting (there are different settings which affect brightness/saturation etc..) but such a mode cannot be utilized when in 3d Lightboost mode. And when I turned off the game, the monitor STAYED in Lightboost mode and wouldn't return to my previous settings. Is that a monitor problem or a driver problem? I'm using the latest WHQL drivers. Many thanks!

My monitor stays in lightboost as well (VG278H). I find opening a video file in Media Player Classic then closing it fixes it. No idea why. As for colour, I'd suggest adjusting it to your personal tastes with the colour sliders. Mine is: R 100 G 90 B 85 But it's a slightly different model, so YMMV

I've had three, colours were equally terrible on all of them, nothing you can do about it.

I remember for a while I had the same problem with the monitor not exiting 3d mode with my 23", and opening Firefox would fix it. But then later drivers corrected the problem. I tried that but it didn't work this time.
I've had three, colours were equally terrible on all of them, nothing you can do about it.
Hmmm, okay. Good to know. I'll consider it a worthy trade off for the larger size and much less ghosting, but in some respects the VG236H seemed like a better monitor.
