Cannot Get 3D Vision To Work
  2 / 3
I'm beginning to think 3D and I weren't meant to play together. :(

I tried removing all the drivers in Safe Mode and re-installing them in Safe Mode, first from the CD. Which didn't change anything, then updating to the current version, which also didn't change anything.

If I had to hazard a guess... Something in the background is not running properly or at all. I downloaded the Metro 2033 3D screenshots from this forum and they opened automatically in the 3D Viewer and the IR emitter properly engaged. Just can't seem to get it to wake the hell up during any other instance!! ARG!

I am back on shift work and now won't be able to contact nVidia Level II Tech Support until Monday. So if anyone else has some recommendations for me between now and then I'll give them a try in the evenings.

Thanks for your help. Wish me luck!! I wanna join your club... :(

Finally someone with the same problem. I've been posting on this thread forever with very little response from anyone.

Do you have Batman AA? or Age of Empires 3? Those are the only 2 games I can get working everything else the green text shows up but no bright green light it is driving me crazy as I just want it to work, I can get the videos and that working fine, in fact try this: take a screen shot, and see if that is in proper 3d, even if the game is not. If it is we have the same exact problem.

I'm runnning 196.21 video + 3d.

Windows 7 Pro 64 bit by chance??

Sorry its 5 am here but if you haven't listed your computer specs that would be useful, and I can see if there are any common items we might both have, it might go a way to narrowing down where the problem is

As sad as it is, I am as excited to see that I am not the only one out there with this problem. And unfortunately, I am beginning to give up as the lack of response from the forums and nVidia has not been the most encouraging to troubleshoot what seems to be an endless issue.

Unfortunately I don't have either of those games, I might have to install some other games I have kicking around to narrow it down further as well. I'll also try taking a screenshot to see if that correlates to your issues.

My computer specs are as follows:

Intel Core i7 860 CPU @ 3.1 GHz
Asus P7P55D Pro Motherboard
Corsair Dominator 1600 Mhz (2 GB x 2)
BFG Tech GTX 260 OCX 55 nm
Creative X-Fi Fatality Titanium Sound Card
Western Digital 75 GB, 10,000 rpm Raptor
Seagate Barracuda 7,200 1 TB
Pioneer BD203 Blu-ray Optical Burner
Enermax ELT620AWT 620 W PSU
Samsung 22" 2233RZ
Samsung 21.5" 215TW
Logitech G19 Keyboard
Logitech G15 Mouse
Silverstone TJ07 Chasis
Logitech Z680 Speakers
SpeedLink Medusa 5.1 Gaming Headset

Hope this helps! Keep an eye on this thread as I've been checking it numerous times a day. HAVE FAITH!

Also, late last night I tested the new set of drivers that were released the other day and still he exact same issues occurred. I'll try to do more thorough removal and installation with this new driver set.
Hey,

So I am having issues with 3D Vision. The 3D effect works when I complete the wizard and see the test photos at the end, but then I can never get it to engage. The green light on the IR emitter stays light green and never goes back to the bright green like it does during the wizard. Doesn't matter if I use Ctrl + T or select the On/Off on the emitter itself, nothing seems to work.

I am using a BFG GTX260 OCX and a Samsung 2233RZ.

I believe it to be software based and not a cable or anything because it works during the wizard, but never after that. I have yet to see it in game, CoD:MW2 or BF:BC2.

Thanks for your advice and help,

download standalone 3d Vision drivers for installing USB 3d Vision controller. i was no success with the only video card driver. once u install controller you will be able to install only videocard drivers in future. but i think it's better to install both drivers wanyway

Just for kicks, I through in my motherboard CD and made sure all the proper drivers were installed. Once again, uninstalled my nVidia drivers, booted into Safe Mode, ran Driver Sweeper, restarted and re-installed the latest version of drivers 1.23 (which includes 197.13 for the GTX 260) and still nothing. I downloaded some random demo on Steam and the 3D still didn't engage, so I can verify it isn't an issue with my games.

The screenshot test you speak of TheGeer, do you just mean Print Screen then pasting that into Photoshop or something? I couldn't find a dedicated screenshot key for either BC2 or MW2.

I too am running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. So that might be the common link between us; that and the Asus motherboard.

I think its something like ALT-F1 or whatever it is, its a special key press that takes 3D screenshots. So in any of your games try doing (I think alt-f1, its in the manual or docs somewhere on here) and you will get a 3D "screenshot".

What would be interesting is: is the screenshot in 3D? I suspect it's going to be. I find it interesting that I can take 3D screenshots from what looks to be a normal running game that should be running in 3D but is not. Hope that makes sense, if not I'll try to clarify.

I'm going to try the new drivers and if they work I'll let people know.

Yep you and I have the exact problem, so I think I'll open up another thread and see if anyone else with win 7 64 pro is having issues. That will narrow this down.

Also, something you might find interesting, I reinstalled the beta drivers 197.25. Without installing the 3d drivers (197.13) if you enable 3D, and use the 3d discover as the output module, when you click into 3d mode. Guess what it does it. No it doesn't work with the glasses we have but it does go blue/red on the right channels.

So that I think it narrows down to a driver issue on win 7 64 pro
I removed my drivers with Driver Sweeper and re-installed the 196.21 GPU drivers and the BETA 196.75 3D drivers, still no luck. Works during wizard tests but that is it. When I am in a game, the "Test Stereoscopic 3D" in the nVidia Control Panel, I get nothing. No bright green light on the emitter.

The only thing that does appear odd is that within my Device Manager under USB Controllers I have an Unknown Device; but the NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D USB Controller appears to be fine.

Mitch
Did the unknown device appear after hooking up all the 3D vision equipment? I think it's worth investigating further what it is and what it needs to work as it might be related to the driver components of 3D.

It is definitely something with the driver. The odd thing is it will work with only 2 games and that's it.
