Getting tired of having to reload drivers after 3dvision I.R. Times out
Ok, so I went out and bought the 3dtv, compatable NVidia card, so I could run the 3d vision wireless glasses. I have the updated drivers, and on a system with 8core 4Gh. Every time 3dvision I.R. times out, I have to reload the drivers and I am getting seriously tired of it. It wont even come on with the test in the NVidia control panel after a while. There are other forums I could have went too first, but I thought coming to NVidia first with the problem would be the best idea. this set up has cost close to 1000$ U.S. (not including the computer, but is including the 3d tv to run the thing.)

"Every time 3dvision I.R. times out" Huh? Please would you elaborate? I don't have 3dtvplay but have never heard of this issue.

Nvidia 3D vision glasses do not work with 3D HDTVs, unless it's a Mitsubishi DLP that's listed on the 3D Vision supported list. Are you trying to game or watch movies? Movies from a Disc or File? 3DTV Play can be purchased for $40 to unlock Nvidia's stereoscopic gaming middleware. 3DTV Play can also be unlocked by having a 3D Vision emitter connected, thus avoiding the $40 fee. In either case, you need to use the display manufacturers glasses.

To D-Man: You don't need the television manufactured glasses. 3d vision set up I have does work great with the 3dtv I have (when it works. It is NVidia 3dvision ready. Games, pictures and movies work well (both with interlace and side-by-side (the side by side is where the 3dtv comes in), But only when the 3dvision works Sometimes it will come on when it times out, sometimes it doesn't. then I have to try first to unplug and plug in the base (which works sometimes) and if that doesn't work. I have to reinstall the drivers. here is the rig set up: 4ghz cpu 750 gtx ti gpu (which is so far worse than my 640gt when it comes to quite a few games and showing a halo effect (but that's a discussion for another section.) 16GB ram 2x4TB ssd asus 3dtv (NVidia 3dvision ready) Ragedemon: There are times it does come on. but there also times it doesn't (and it usually falls off to the default analygryph in games when it doesn't.

What's the model number of the display?
What's the model number of the display?

the model number is: vg278 ('HE' I think) the vg278h has the I.R. for the 3dvision 2 built in (which is the only difference in the two models) I bought the 3dvision separately. (which means I bought the I.R. and the glasses.). the I.R. times out, blinks and then shuts off. start a game from there and MOST of the time it doesn't come on. shut down the game and tried the testing tool in the control panel and it still doesn't come on. tried unplugging the i.r. and plugging it back in sometimes works, but rarely. sometimes restarting the computer works. the only thing that does work is reloading the drivers which I have to do quite often. so, for 3d vision, I get the monitor, I get the 3d vision2 glasses, and I get a newer card (640gt upgraded to 750 gtx ti (which actually, I had less image and performance issues out of the 640 than the 750 in games even outside the 3dvision stuff.)) but as far as the monitor being the issue. No, the monitor will combine the stereo vision quite well. And as far as an interlaced (or V-interlaced) image/movie/animation (such as the test is in control panel) that has nothing to do with combining stereo. the monitor isn't the issue. I have to admit that I was expecting a better performance from the 3d vision. In the test on the control panel the NVidia symbol really pops out. (which is almost imposable to create in programs like blender or Unity3d (which unity 3d does do the 3d thing quite well with 3dvision depth). But I cant seem to find a game that gets it quite right. the only one that I found that worked well is one that the 3dvision said worked poorly (which was dragonage origins). All the rest, you have to leave the 3dvision on its lowest setting to keep from seeing double. I am at this point, very disappointed in NVidia's 3d vision 2.

A lot of us here have that same monitor and do not have this problem. when you say "Getting tired of having to reload drivers after 3dvision I.R. Times out", do you mean you are rebooting the PC? uninstalling/reinstalling USB drivers? A few things to try... try another USB cord if you have one plug the emitter into a different USB port, preferably one that is on the motherboard. download the lastest USB drivers for your motherboard. go into the "PC" control panel and set the power settings to performance.
