Rocksteady studios third and final installment in the 'Arkhamverse' was announced this morning for 4th gen consoles and, of course, on PC. Unreal 4 afaik. Brand spanking new info, so no technical details, but seeing as how the last three Batman games were 3D Vision Ready, I'm hopi.. expecting this one to be as well! LOOKS EPIC!!

I can't wait to see the first game that looks as good as the Unreal 4 tech demos!

Don't count on it, but it would be nice.

Why assumption that its Unreal 4? I would assume 3 since thats what they been using/they know and game has probably in been development for a while. Not to mention I would assume the royalty % would be higher on UE4. Sounds like to much of hassle when talking about a Batman franchise.

You do realize that the Arkham franchise is kind of a big thing, right? ;-)

Realistically I dont see them switching engine. Too little time has passed before UE4 was in a public stage for developers to use. Only UE4 games I know of comming out in that early of a time frame are the "UDK"/budget games, I really cant see them fitting a Batman game in that time frame. But again, we will see.

Hmmm.... well now I'm not so sure. I think maybe myself and others have confused the 'won't be available on previous gen consoles' with ' must be Unreal 4.' I don't remember when U4 was unveiled, but Arkham Knight has been in development ever since Arkham City was released, so that might've been too soon for them to start using it. Oh well, while I would like to have seen it use U4, I suppose U3 may be more hardware friendly, and again, more chance of 3D Vision Ready like the other three Batman games.

Will the game be 3D vision compatible like "Origins" ? I want to know before bying it ;-) Otherwise, is there a chance there will be an helix fix ? Origins was beautifull in 3D and fun to play ...

I read an interview that said it was still UE3, but with additions from UE4. So it's kind of a hybrid engine. Graphics look amazing though. A good step up from the previous Arkham games. Crossing fingers for a 3d ready release. :)

Normally I'd advise against preordering. And I'll remind you all that there is no indication Arkham Knight will support 3D. But Greenmangaming have a 40% discount right now, using the code: 40OFFB-ATAKVC-GMGRB9 This takes it down to $36US for the standard version, or $54US for premium (includes season pass). That's quite a saving, so if you're keen on picking this up you may not see cheaper for a while. It expires pretty soon though, so you'll have to be quick if you want it. Final reminder, we have no indications that it will support 3D. Also while previews have been fairly positive, there are no reviews out yet. So it may suck.

^^ True. But Origins came out after NVidia stopped promoting "3D Vision Ready" and it was flawless just like the previous two Arkham titles. I am hopeful that Rocksteady didn't suddenly get lazy and, after two flawless 3D titles, haven't suddenly changed their methods. I would say that this game has the best chance of any new releases.

Sad news. The just released Arkham Knight driver mentions: "Not recommended for 3D Vision. Some objects render at wrong depth. Some effects render incorrectly." So, they lost a sale. I might still pick it up much later for 20$ if there is a Helix Mod for it someday...

I am very very very very disappointed with both RockSteady as NVIDIA for having failed to support 3D latter BATMAN ... another sale unless you have ... and now I 'm asking if it's worth having NVIDIA without matches natively on 3D ... I'm sunk ! I expected that games like The Witcher 3 or GTA V have top quality 3D and has not been so ... we face the decline of 3D? Play FULL HD 3D and 1080p is much better than playing in 4K because the immersion of 3D does not exist in the 4K ! NVIDIA react !!
