What? To play any Blu-ray movie you have to pay for the software. Arcsoft is just charging $20 extra. Use '4THJULY' at checkout for 35% off Arcsoft TMT.

No you didn't get it for free.
The BluRay drive price was inflated to include the disc and an oem license for PowerDVD
The exact same way Nvidia 3D vision drivers are not free, you pay it with the emitter.

Supporting a brand new and heavily patent protected technology like BluRay 3D costs money for the licences, and the licence has to be paid for every product nvidia ships, even if the user does not use it.
This is why Nvidia has never offered free DVD, HD-DVD or BluRay support, it's just too expensive for a product consumers have already bought either with their computer or with the BluRay drive, so why would they start ?

Well if you would have purchased a drive with Arcsoft included then it would be $20 to play the 3D BD.
Why should nVidia pay for this? What do they have to do with Blu-ray?

I dont know why this happend like u said sumthing to do with the ablity to play dvd on your PC unlocked may it be a licance or whatever. Now if i install power dvd ill have the ablity to play bluray on my PC. Dose blu-ray not work like this?. If not them im sorry and no nvidia shouldetn pay for me the ablity to play blu-ray.
If it dose work like it used to for dvd's then this is where nvidia could help us out and make the 3d vision player have the ablity to do 3d blu-ray

Also extremely bummed that Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs is the only Bluray 3D disc out there. I saw that movie and didn't like it very much. Where's Avatar and Monster's vs Aliens and Up? I'm so disappointed. :(

Yes before you had to buy similar software just to play DVDs, then after 4-5 years MS finally obtained license and offered DVD playback for free. Keep in mind, even if MS wanted to pay the license and offer native Blu-Ray support in Media Center or Media Player, that doesn't mean they could without heavy resistance and red tape as they have the constant anti-trust concerns looming overhead anytime they want to increase the functionality of their OS.
If you wanted to be mad at someone, be mad at Cyberlink, Arcsoft, Blu-Ray standards association and everyone else involved for constantly forcing you to upgrade for these incremental features and charging you for the privelege. Cyberlink is the most criminal in this regard as they've already had 3 revisions to PowerDVD since Blu-Ray support was added:

1) PowerDVD 7: Blu-Ray +HD-DVD support

2) PowerDVD 8: Blu-Ray only with some minor changes like BD Live and online updates/interactivity.

3) PowerDVD 9: Blu-Ray uncompressed HD Audio bitstreaming support, WMC integration, CUDA acceleration for DVD and SD (these are actually quite nice)

4) PowerDVD 10: 3D conversion for DVD/SD, more CUDA features, visual remote/mouse support (finally!), and 3D Blu-Ray support "soon".
Each one of these upgrades would cost you $50-$60 from the previous version, its just part of their business model to continuously generate revenue. If anything you should be pleased with the likes of Nvidia as they do NOT charge you for continuous support and updates which are provided free of charge even for older hardware. The latest 258 drivers are a good example of this where we got a ton of new features like 3D Vision Surround for free with just a driver update.
