Noob Question - DLP Projector 3dVision
Hi All

Ok, so this is a noob question in terms of never having used a projector at all in my life.

Currently I'm running 3dvision on the Samsung screen, but want something more, I got used to my 30" dell 2560X1600

So, im trying to look at a 3d vision ready projector, but having never used one, am not sure what to look for.
I've looked at the BenQ brand briefly..

So now for the questions...

1. Out of anybody using a projector, is there one you can recommend (model number etc) ?
2. Also, what should I look at in terms of wall size (width and height) required and distance from wall for the projector
3. Although I have a pure white wall, will I need a screen ?
4. I'm guessing a higher lumens level will give me better visuals in a low light room

and finally, is it worth it in terms of the overall experience !

Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas

I have had the Acer H5360 for a couple of days and can recommend it highly. Unfortunalty, you wouldn't be able to get anywhere near the resolution your currenly used to, but to game at that res with 3D vision you'd need the budget of a small country. I have a projection of about 100 inches diag from about 4 meters away. As for experience, its mind blowing!!!

I have the same dell 30" screen and the samsung 22" There's no doubt that gaming at 2560x1600 is nice but I now use the samsung for all gaming because of the 3d.

We're a bit limited in the UK for bigger screen options at the moment due to lack of DLP HDTVs (you'd have to import one) so i've been experimenting with projection. At the moment, from what I've read it looks like the Acer H3560 is a good option, mine is coming tomorrow.

Once you've seen 3D on a 50" plus size screen there's no going back.

At 2m you should be able to get at least a 100cm wide image.

Thanks for the posts so far, Its not the resolution im aiming for its the screen size with 3d vision compatibility.

The plan is to have it set-up for racing games in 3d, it will complement the playseat & g25 perfectly I hope.
Ill take a look at the H3560. Out of interest where did you purchase it from, I can only find it in the ProjectorShop24

Let me know what you think when it arrives and most of all, enjoy !

You might be able to find a better deal elsewhere but we already had an account with pixmania as we used to buy camcorders from them.
