Stereo Windowed Mode Problem with GT540m (Sony VPCF23z1)
Hello everyone!
I am strongly interested in using my GT540M in windowed mode with my notebook VPCF23Z1 from Sony. On the nVidia website there is written, that this mode will work with notebooks having the newest drivers installed. So I installed the driver version 285.62 from the nVidia website. The latest official driver from Sony for my notebook is too old and it does not support the windowed mode.
Now I have installed the new driver and - guess what - it does not work.
When I start for example the 3D-Vision photo viewer it starts in windowed mode, showing an image side by side. If I look into the Control Panel to the Stereoscopic 3D Function, the page look like known from the old dirver. There is not additional panel showing the options for the windowed mode.
Also if I use the Stereoscopic Player, it is still the same result. And if I press the 3D Button, full screen mode is toggled.
So does somebody has an idea what the problem could be?

Have you tried the latest beta driver as the notebook seems to be supported. What is the error message that you get?

Thanks for your infomation!
I mean, the regular 3D mode works very nice and is supported by the driver I mentioned above as well as by the old driver of course. This model has everything integrated, so I do not need external stuff.
But next I will check the Beta driver and give you feedback what happened.

thanks a lot for the hint! So I installed now the Beta-Driver 295.51. And all programs like the nVidia PhotoViewer/VideoPlayer, of course the Stereoscopic Player run now perfectly. I am not sure about Corel WinDVD. It seems that it recognizes the 3D mode but it does not show the movie in 3D - both seems to be one perspective. But I will have to du further tests. Anyway there is one drawback: Normally, the notebook LCD runs on 75 Hz and changes to 120 Hz if 3D mode is activated. This does not work with the new driver. Therefore, the user manually has to change in the display properties constantly to 120 Hz. Of course, this should be fixed.
So, now you only have to tell me how to run Java3D with DirectX in Windowed Mode, then everything is perfect ;-)
