My 4k 3d play experience with local korean brand 55" TV (which is less than 900$)
Hey guys,
I'd like to share my experience with my 3d play with passive monitor and find my solution to my sli problem.
I'm from Korea, and there are lots of local brand TV/ monitor manufacturing companies who make TV/monitor using same panel LG/Samsung uses. They are not popularly known, even for most of korean locals, but their products are widely used by PC gamers/lovers because they have such a high price/performance ratio.
As an example, I recently bought 55inch 4k monitor made by company called "Wasabi Mango" for less then 900$ including tax.
I had no idea it can be used as a 3d display nor the manufacturer stated.
but, some users in Korean PC commmunity found out it's built with the same display panel from LG 4k 3d TV (which is cost double in korea, actually LG sells u guys cheaper then to us)
They tried 3d play with games and movies and boom! it was quite succesful.
Personally I had success with play 3d movies and games with Tri-def, and after that I wanted to try nvidia 3d vision.
I used innuendo1231b's Acer mod 4k EDID overrried inf.. and seemed 3d works just fine @ 4k resolution.(though, my pc thinks its as a TV? cant choose YCrCb444)
The only problem is in some recent games like Witcher 3 and GTA 5, my second gpu load is as low as its idle state.
I'm using 2 gigabyte's 980ti G1 and had no sli problems in 2d gaming. Graphic driver is the latest one(353.38)
I tried older games ie. Dead space and 2 gpus are seems to working fine.
Does gta5 and witcher 3 not support sli in 3d gaming? I tried to google it but couldnt find similar results with me.
any comment would be greatly appriciated.

I have the exact same problem with 980ti SLI. One card is pretty much at idle the whole time. I think we have to wait for new drivers as this may be related to the same problem that happens with the ROG swift.

Because of inconsistent SLI 3D Vision performance, I have opted to use more PC chassis space for overclocking a single (hybrid water cooled) 980 Ti card, as an alternative. The card is very quiet, and rarely gets above 60 C, with 1253 MHz base clock.

I think most of the problems are with the 900 series cards. Nvidia has been really shit with drivers lately and many people with older cards can simply use older drivers and get better performance. We have EXACTLY ONE DRIVER we can use right now and it's horrible. I'm really hoping the next driver is a big upgrade.
With one 980ti, I can't get much more then 23FPS in 4K 3D with average settings.

So how about results with older games? Have you been able to find games work in sli AND 3d vision??
