Driver suport duration... Is this just another nVIdia rip-off?
Hi, im a pretty pissed off nVidia user /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' /> . Five years ago i've bough the eDimensional stereo glasses and was really happy to use it. But when I "upgraded" from 6600 to 8800gts and discovered that I could not use the glasses anymore - there was no updated drivers for the 8000 series and up. Why so? I've payed for it and all! Now after a long time of research i've bought the Iz3D screen and its ok to use. Now i'm on The Gathering computerpary and samsung was showing off their 120hz 3D screen with the new nVidia 3D Vision glasses - and again they got my attention. My question is - will nVidia continue to make drivers for this device for a long time or is this just another temporary show-off like eDimensional and Zalman Trimon? /ermm.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ermm:' />

Honestly I feel like a moron even explaining this to you, but that's how fast technology changes. They supported your old glasses for 5 years ? That's great ! Now it's time
to move onto new tech. New and IMPROVED tech, that will likely be supported for a very long time to come. Just enjoy your Iz3d monitor and their great driver and
customer support, and don't hate on Nvidia for doing their job ! Look at the amazing toys they've provided for us to play with. Now go play them ! ;)

Well, technology moves forward of course, but when buying this type of product that depends on updated drivers, there should be updated drivers for as long as we use it (or give us information for when they STOP updating). Coz when buying a such product - they must deliver the service we payed for. The new 3D glasses now suports geforce 8000 series and up to 200 series. Will it suport the next? Pretty enoying to buy a new screen or thing every time someone wants to upgrade! Things holdng back the reason to upgrade is bad buisness for nVidia.

I have bought one Zalman Trimon 22" 3 weeks ago.
I have it perfectly running on vista ultimate 64 with the latest 3D Vision driver.....
The drivers are the same as 3D Vision.... so what's the problem ??
That monitor is great for 3D

What I'm saying is go aaaaaalllllllll the way back to when NVIDIA started 3D then paused and now still going before you start waving your hands around in the air and running in circles.. hehe

If anything, be pissed off at eDimensional since their entire product was relying on another companies driver.

But yeah, technology changes. If you updated your video card at the cost of your 3D drivers then that's you choice.

Now, if nvidia had owned eDimensional and just released a different set of glasses under a different name in order to sell more and force people to upgrade, I would be pissed (nobody buy an Ergodex gamepad, they did that.)

With the drivers that I have now it works on almost any game, so even when there ain't comin any new drivers, it's tons of fun with games that were released until 2009 :P
