Why is it every game I preorder that's supposed to be 3D vision ready never work at launch. First Witcher 2 and now this. I have to admit that once Witcher was all patched up months later, the game is one of the best 3D vision games out there. Hopefully it doesn't take months for a 3D patch. Mother ****ers.

Hi All

I wanted to officially respond to this thread.

Johan Andersson, the rendering architect of DICE, was at GeForce LAN 6 at our keynote and talked about 3D support in Battlefield 3 / Frostbite 2 engine.

NVIDIA’s latest GeForce 285.62 drivers are ready to support 3D Vision for Battlefield 3. However The retail version of the game and day 1 patch does not have support for 3D.

We expect EA to add 3D support for Battlefield 3 in an upcoming patch but cannot disclose a date yet.

Please feel free to ask any questions and I can try to answer it.
[/quote]

Question 1: Why didn't Johan Andersson mention that this feature wouldn't be ready for release at the Nvidia Keynote?

Question 2: Why didn't Nvidia announce that the feature they were promoting at their event wouldn't be ready for release?

Question 3: What is Nvidia doing to help address the issue of AAA 3d Vision ready games being released with the 3d vision support either missing or broken?

Thanks!

This is a slap in the face.
I did play the beta in 3D for a few minutes before they blocked it, and
all i could see was the shadows and sky that werent at the correct depth, but it
did run smooth on my one gtx480

I asked Johan Andersson why 3d vision support wasn't included with the release version on twitter. His response was..."it will be in an update shortly after launch".

BF3 and no 3D. I can't even begin to describe the pain.

Is iz3d even possible?

I wonder if that is "microwave" shortly or Nvidia "shortly" (aka 3 months) /blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Andrew - Thank you for the clear response, it is good to not have to wonder. Have you seen the game in 3D? Are we talking "it will be worth it to wait" timeframe or "might as well get started" timeframe? Or possibly any hints what we are waiting on (some rendering problem, performance, etc)?

Unfrickin believable! I download the new driver, see a rating of 3D Vision ready for the game. Spend $55 CAD buying the game, and read what? It doesn't work in 3D? What kind of horsesh#t is this? False advertising by Nvidia. Another monumental rip off. I spend well over $1500 on Nvidia 3D Vison equipment, video cards and a projector and Nvidia can't even be honest? No wonder ATI (now AMD) has been able to stay in the game. Why is the PC world so full of companies that do not worry about customer satisfaction? The only real attitude that seems to exist is screw you.

It makes me feel like no one is at the driver's seat a lot of the time. 3d ready has been pretty hit and miss. That is why I have taken to not buying 3d ready games at launch, and making sure they are actually 100% 3d ready before buying them. It is easy to get burned since they make it seem like these games are perfectly ready to go in 3d at launch. That was certainly what it looked like for BF3.

I love 3d vision, but that sort of behavior is pretty aggravating.

Thanks for the official word Andrew.

I went ahead and got BF3 today knowing I wouldn't play MP in 3D Vision anyways. Hopefully the 3D patch is out by the time I get my MP fix so I can play through the campaign in 3D Vision. I don't blame those of you expecting 3D support to hold off though, it'll probably drop a bit in price too.

Well the game is going to be epic weather 3D Vision works right off the bat or not. I don't care, I'm going to play it either way. Besides, the longer you wait to start playing, the further you will have to catch up earning upgrades. This to me is as much of a sport as a hobby. I'm going to get ranked.
