Could my laptop do 3D Vision?
Hi all. I have the Samsung Series 7 Gamer NP700G7C-S02UK. This is not advertised as a 3D capable machine, but I've noticed that the screen can do 120Mhz refresh rate. It's got a GTX 675M inside. There is a 3D version of this laptop available, but it's got an ATI card in it. I suspect the screen may be the same in my machine as in the 3D ATI version though, which is why I'm thinking that 3D may work if I just go and get myself a 3D Vision 2 kit. Any thoughts or advice?

I highly doubt that your current screen works with 3D Vision. You might be able to run 3DTV Play using the HDMI port but that is not exactly the same thing. 3D Vision requires close cooperation with Nvidia to make the make the 3D Vision glasses sync with the monitor and thus enable the whole 3D Vision subsystem to run on the monitor at all. If your computer was supported by 3D Vision it would be branded as such and probablly come equiped with a pair of glasses. This is my take.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?

Thanks for the reply. That's a bit of a shame. I got excited when I saw that the screen could do the 120mhz refresh rate, because I thought that was the only requirement of the screen for doing 3D Vision.

Isn't 3DVision driver nowadays in all nVidia display drivers? I mean you can test it by: 1. clicking mouse right button on desktop and choose NVIDIA Control Panel. 2. Select Stereoscopic 3D -> Set up stereoscopic 3D 3. Then check is your monitor in Stereo 3D Display type Default setting is 3D Vision Discover what uses anaglyph glasses (different lens colors). I got there also Vievsonic 3D 120Hz LCD what uses nVidias 3D glasses and emitter.
