Broken 3D bluray playback since 'fake' 3D driver introduced (unfixable)
  9 / 10
Finaly some recognition, 3D bluray works better, it is watchable now, but there are still some issues with 3D itself, so hopping they will clear out all bugs in the future.
You're probably just being fobbed off with a generic reply from customer services.
There was nothing "generic" about the responses I was getting from nVidia. In fact, there were several back and forth email exchanges between myself and an nVidia customer service rep. He definitely assured me the developers were working on it and were communicating with ManuelG, who had received complaints in the forums about the issue. So, lo and behold, the latest 344.75 drivers have fixed the issue. I have tested these myself and the 3D Bluray playback issue is gone. As I said previously, patience was all that was needed, they were actually working on it, and sure enough, it has been fixed.

Telling someone to be patient after 1/2 a year. You're having a laugh right? Where would you draw the line? A year? A decade? It might not have been an issue for you for long but it sure has for me and a lot of the other people on here. Read through the thread, people have been getting feedback from nvidia saying the same things for months to no avail! Anyway, don't take it personally, I was speaking through experience, I wasnt having a dig. I would of preferred it if I was wrong, at least we would have had a fix earlier. I've not had time to test it yet. So it's fully fixed or half fixed? Getting mixed reports here.

I watched a movie with the latest drivers today and it worked great without doing the workaround so I'd say it's fixed.

In other words, it's back to the way it was before the issue occured. Reports of ghosting, more often than not, relate to the hardware itself, ie: the TV or projector your using. I use a DLP projector that is known for having virtually no ghosting in 3D. I wasn't getting any ghosting in my 3D movies before the problem with the drivers and I'm still not getting any now with the new ones. As far as any other 3D issues, there are none that I can see that weren't already there before, ie: minor issues regarding compatibility with games.

@sean my old radeon and my BD player (s790) show less ghosting (titles / written text and dark scene are good tests) and less dynamic false contouring. maybe you need a trained eye to see it or another hardware to make a comparison. Its a fact, im using the same TV. @Gib Anyway yes, its fixed. My fault, talking about 3D quality image its probably off topic. gn8^

Well no it's not off topic, as it's diferent from driver to driver, and also diferent on WinDVD and PowerDVD... overall PowerDVD and 3D Vision are still the worst quality playback, it just doesn't provide as smooth playback as hardware bluray player in comparison, and I have a rig that is more then capable (i5-4670k, asus MAXIMUS HERO VI, geforce 770 GTX) but at least it's watchable now, audio features are good on PowerDVD tho unlike other players.

Anyways it would be interesting to see what your results are like with the new drivers.

Awesome news that this is fixed. I'm going to test it tonight. This has made my day, finally I can watch 3D bluray on my projector and use my 4k screen at 4k resolution without having to swap drivers! Hopefully it will stay fixed! Might contemplate buying a couple of 980's or 970's for Christmas again now!

I can confirm it works for me. Really happy! Just tried avengers, Prometheus and edge of tomorrow. About bloody time too! Don't dare update my drivers now!

It does seem to be fixed in 344.75... I was hoping that it would also fix the subtitles. I have two hearing impaired people in the house and to preserve my hearing (read sanity) subtitles are a must. The subtitle problem started at the same time the 3d playback problem did so I had hoped resolving playback would resolve 3d subtitles as well. The subtitles work randomly, sometimes they and the controls in powerdvd simply disappear. Sometimes the subtitles do not clear and seem to just overwrite the ones that should have cleared resulting in a garbled mess. Anyone else notice a problem with the powerdvd gui and subs/srt?

I can't say I've tried the subtitles to be honest. The only problem I seem to have now is not being able to open chrome with stereoscopic 3D enabled in the Nvidia control panel. It's just a blank screen.
