Right;))
The engine is very "F@CKED" up so to say...
Follow these steps:
- Start game and quickly disable 3D (CTRL+T) before the EA/Bio logo.
- Load the game (in 2D mode)
- Once the game is loaded press ALT+TAB -> game will go to 1280x720 window mode.
- Press ALT+TAB again and it will go back to fullscreen
- Enable 3D (if it hasn;t already)
This will solve the "incorrect rendering stuff". Problem is sooner or later the game will crash for some unknown reasons...Try the meshes set to high (not ultra like above) maybe that prevents the crash ?!?!
I find compat mode actually good in this game but with all the crashes when 3D Vision is enabled....well I don't really use it that much....:(

Thanks soo much i did your tuto "how enable cm with diretx" and it worked =) but yes crashes sometimes. you do the nvidia job lol
one more question i saw in your screenchots you have cm activated + 3d vision discover activated ! (red and green color render) is it better ?

There is absolute no difference between 3D Vision and Discovery mode related to the performance/crashing thingy. I just used Discovery so people can easily see what I am talking about without the need to put on the glasses (to see the image in 3D) and so I could record the video in 2D not side-by-side 3D;))

Trawling through the EA support forums there seems to be a bunch of PC users complaining and have had a response that they are working with Nvidia to resolve, but not a peep on the 3d crashes.
I could actually handle playing this game in CM mode if this is all we can hope for in the near future as it actually looks half decent in this game, but it crashes in minutes and pretty much always when entering a cut scene.
I think if we are to get any attention on this and have a hope of it working at all it may be time to make some noise

Some early progress is being made on a full fix for this, so that's some good news I hope :-)
However, it's a real pain to work with right now. With Helifax's help I have a way to shader hunt and fix shaders now using a second laptop connected to shared files on the network (!), and it's doing the trick. The game has many problems though, not just rendering incorrectly, but things which seem driver related for which there seems to be no shaders directly responsible. Anyway, for now I have fixed the main outdoor shadows, the snow decals that render under the surface, and the skybox, so it's kind of playable-ish, but there are loads of other problems.
I won't be able to work on this for about a week so I have sent everything to Helifax who is keen to hunt down additional problems and see if applying the fixes I have done already will work, or to try and work out new fixes. We already know that 3DMigoto has issues compiling some shaders which might be ones that we can't "find" when shader hunting, so there is likely to be some work on the decompiler.
The upshot is that this is looking positive, but it's going to be a few weeks at the very least, though we might put something "alpha" out if people really can't wait, but that will be entirely 'unsupported' and we would ask for/expect constructive feedback and help with tracking down issues.
I am at work so can't post a screenshot, but Helifax will be able to do that when he pick this up later today so you can see how the game looks with outdoor shadows and decals working (i.e. very nice ;-)

Fantastic work Mike, very promising! No pressure to get it out the door quickly (from me at least), I've personally got more than enough of a gaming backlog, and I think we all understand these things can be very tricky and time consuming.

I vote for putting out an "alpha" for us to test while waiting for a more complete fix. We all know this is a work in progress, but I'm sure many of us would like to test what you have so far. Especially since most of the combat and exploring gameplay takes place in outdoor areas.

I too would like some kind of tutorial to learn how to use 3DMigoto. I have been working on the lessons for Bo3b's School for Shaderhackers for HelixMod. Really great stuff, very helpful. It would be great to have a similar tutorial for 3DMigoto.
Thanks for all your hard work and spending the time you have so far fixing this game so we all can enjoy playing it in a much better state of 3D Vision.

The skills you learn in bo3b's school are important for understanding shaderhacking in general, and the lessons to come will progress into 3dmigoto once you've developed a good base knowledge. It's definitely worth sticking with it.

Well I made a couple of tests and the game+wrapper+3d vision is inconsistent:
- Sometimes the shaders are loaded & used correctly, other times they are not.... (2/10 times they work)
- I noticed the same behavior without 3Dmigoto, basically with just the nvidia driver...
- Then we have the crashes and other stuff that plague the game...
I think the best bet atm would be to wait for BIO + nvidia to update the game + drivers....
Sh@ty crashbite 3 engine that is....

I think it might be wise to wait until they fix their things up with nvidia. Seeing how some updates have broken some of your fixes it might mess something else up, hopefully it wont happen and I bet crashfield isnt the best to work with ;) They have stated in their PC community concerns taht they're "We are aware of issues with certain NVidia graphic cards and we are working with NVIDIA for a solution." so hopefully they can provide something soon.

Yeah I know...:( I spend half a day today trying to find a way to make it NOT crash...no success:( Although what I did find out is that is mostly crashing when switching from normal play to cutscenes/loading screens/new areas...

With the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition, we've been hearing a number of concerns from members of our PC community, including:
"Driver support
Hitching and frame rate issues in cutscenes"
"We've been following these issues closely and are looking into them."

I plan to add some detail for how to use 3Dmigoto in the future, but in general, you use it the exact way that you use HelixMod. You shader hunt using the same keys, you mark shaders with the same keys, you reload shaders with F10.
The differences are pretty minor, like the name of the override folder, and no red on-screen text. The code is HLSL instead of ASM, but is typically a lot easier to decipher.
So, please don't hesitate to give it a try, you should rapidly see how it works.

I'm a french player and rejoiced to know enthusiasts take as much of their personal time for us to have a patch permettres to play Dragon 3d vision inquisition age.
Thank you again !!
ps I hope Witcher III will be in 3D: o)

"We are aware of issues with certain NVidia graphic cards and we are working with NVIDIA for a solution."
