I've downloaded the demo but whenever I try to install it I get this message: "error: switch from current encoding to specified encoding not supported. line 1, column 39 in xml configuration" anyone else having this problem?

When I set it correctly(convergence and depth, I get black heaven) :( Hopefully, there will be a fix for this in the final release or I wasn`t messing around to much. Besides that, graphics looked great in 3D and without, combat and so forth I didn`t think so much about. I guess it was what you can expect. Never played the first one because it seemed like a total bore fest, but that`s me.

Depth at minimum worked for me. depth greater than minimum -> black for me too.
The demo is bugged, especially dx11, but looks good in 3D when it works.

I downloaded the demo for Dragon Age 2 .. first for my pc .. because damn right I want to play this game in 3d.
After playing around with the conversion and depth .. I thought the 3d was rather good ... now no controller support was the deal breaker for me.
The mouse and keyboard for this just seem broken and I kept thinking this would play so much better with a controller.
So.. I downloaded the demo for my xbox360 .. and damn was I right .. game with controller is awesome! Also this gave me a chance to check out my 2d to 3d conversion on my samsung 3dtv.
I'm shocked .. Its works pretty good! now not as well as if it was true 3d I know .. but damn if it is not close .. call me impressed.
I never thought I would be picking up the 360 version of this game over pc .. but there it is.

I made a quick album on 3D Live, though there are only 3 shots there. I didn't alter my settings at all while playing.
P.S. We've all got to learn to turn off our UI's when taking screenshots!

Thanks for this post.
I played it on PC first with 3DTV Play on my Samsung LE40C750. Especially the cut scenes were horrible in 3D, could not get them right. Which is strange since in DAO1 they played perfect. After reading your tip to try 2D to 3D conversion I downloaded the demo to my PS3 and well: very impressive! Not very much dept but still convincing enough and the cut scenes play now almost in real 3D.
It's actually the first time that I find good use for the 2D to 3D conversion function.
Still I hope NVIDIA will give us a good profile for DA2 since I prefer to play it on PC.

There's no profile for the demo - or at least there isn't yet. You might be able to change the name of the demo exe to daorigins.exe and get the game to use the old Dragon Age: Origins profile and have better luck. (See eqzitara's post above.)
Playing the game with a console controller doesn't sound so good to me. It may look good at low levels but, as you level up and gain more skills, you're going to miss the PC's better hotbar.
