I saw the witcher 2 was listed as the only 3d vision ready rpg. I had already heard good things about it, so I decided to pick it up. I go to play it, and there is a good 2 second delay in anything I do, regardless of the settings, while running in 3d. I look it up online, and there are dozens and dozens of website all saying the nvidia 3d drivers ruin the performance of the game. How is it possible that a game which is literally unplayable in 3d be 3d ready? The games like Dragon Age 2 which aren't recommended work 1,000x better than the "3d vision ready" title. What the fuck?

Something is wrong (clearly). I have no problem playing Witcher 2 in 3D Vision (between 45-60 FPS). What are your system specs? Mine are core i5-3570, 2x570GTX, Win 7 64 bit, 314.14 beta drivers. How does the game play on your system in 2D - both with 3d vision actually disabled, and with it 'turned off' i.e. pressing Ctrl-T to deactivate it in game? By the way, Skyrim with the helixmod fix is 3d vision ready as well (since you specifically mentioned RPGs).

I suspect 3dtvplay is at least contributing. I have only used it a few times (to see what it looks like on my tv) and in all cases games run with a lot lower FPS. In particular I remember Witcher 1 did, and I fired up lego batman 2 last week and it ran with lower FPS too. I don't know much about 3dtvplay to be honest, but I seem to remember reading that the hdmi packing and unpacking causes some overhead. All that being said, your GTX 460s could be holding you back here as well (I assume x2 means SLI) - Witcher 2 seems quite a demanding game (I get the lowest FPS of all games I play in Witcher 2), so your cards may be reaching their limits, or even running out of VRAM (which causes FPS to plummet to single digits), although 3dtvplay runs at 720p which should be taking a bit of pressure off that. You could try lowering all settings to minimum to see what happens? I will say that Witcher 2 looks amazing in 3d, it's a game I am currently playing at the moment, so hopefully you can sort this out, or someone else has some ideas.

I play Witcher 2 using 3DTV Play with no issues. i5 2500 and 560 Ti. No delays, 30-60fps. I doubt 3DTV Play is the issue.

Id recommend looking at FPS with vsync off on fraps in 2D. Cut it in half and thats what you should expect with 3d vision. If your playing with uber aa turn it off.

Turn off Ubersampling in the graphics options, I was playing it last night on a gtx580 with everything on max except for uber, 99% of the time as smooth as silk. Oh and turn off any depth of field setting as well, they are arse (in look) for 3d. 310.09 drivers.

Because what you are describing was a known problem on release day, and it was months before they fixed it.

And just to be sure, you ARE playing with the game fully patched right? Because what you are describing was a known problem on release day, and it was months before they fixed it.

I have ultra sampling disable and sync. I have done l the basic troubleshooting. I will check for patches, buti just purchased the enhacned edition from steam so my bet is that its already up to date. Does anyone k ow how 3dplay works? Why does it force you in to 1080p 24hz or 720p?

Active 3d displays over the dvi to HDMI cable didn't focr 24hz, or atleast it did say it was. Why would their be a difference between using 3dvision active from dvi to HDMI and 3dplay passive over HDMI?

As far as I know all 3DTVs using 3DTV Play whether they are active or passive 3D are forced to use the 720p60/1080p24 standards, as they are the HDMI standards that were set in place for TVs. 3D Monitors, and a select few 3DTVs like my Mitsubishi DLP, aren't using 3DTV Play but instead are using 3D Vision which isn't constricted by the same standards.
As far as I know all 3DTVs using 3DTV Play whether they are active or passive 3D are forced to use the 720p60/1080p24 standards, as they are the HDMI standards that were set in place for TVs.

3D Monitors, and a select few 3DTVs like my Mitsubishi DLP, aren't using 3DTV Play but instead are using 3D Vision which isn't constricted by the same standards.
