Awesome! That looks better. On that screenshot, even though your depth setting is much lower compared to your other shots, the stars look like they are at the correct depth and nebula is now 3D instead of 2D. The nebula is just too deep. I think just lowering convergence to where the top left and right HUD elements are set to around screen depth should help but if not, you might need to tweak the nebula shaders (see instructions). Don't forget to save the settings. Ctrl and F7. If you don't need lots of popout you shouldn't need to tweak the shaders! :) Will you increase depth and / or lower convergence and see what that looks like and post a screeny please? However that means I still need to catch more nebula and starfields :) Which training mission were you on in the earlier screenshots?

Mate! Thankyou very much for the screenies! Believe it or not this is cool and expected. Firstly though, are you definitely using the most recent version of the fix? The reason I ask is because the starfield looks slightly cone shaped, with the center area being slightly closer than the outer regions. This looked like the fix looked in the first version and probably explains why the cone shape and the nebula being out of sync. Please will you uninstall the fix using the Uninstall.bat file inside the FORC-FDEV-D-1010 folder and replace with the newest version found: https://s3.amazonaws.com/andysonofbob/Elite+Dangerous+Fix.zip OR Just remove all the shaders from within the ShaderFixes folder and replace with the shaders within the ShaderFixes folder found in the abovementioned link. Once you have done that, please run the docking trainer again and see what it looks like. If the nebula is still out of sync you will need to follow the instructions as per the Helix site to tweak. Or see below... ---------------------- NEBULA TWEAK GUIDE ---------------------- NEBULA Nebula are still out of sync? Do the following: #1 MAKE SURE YOU SAVE YOUR CONVERGENCE SETTINGS!!!! CTRL + F7 Go to where you extracted the fix files e.g. C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Elite Dangerous\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1010 Inside the ShaderFixes folder, delete all the files that end in .bin (They will repopulate next time you run the game.) Temporarily move the d3dx.ini file to somewhere safe e.g. desktop Copy and Paste the d3dx.ini from the FOR TWEAKING NEBULA folder; this will allow you to tweak the shader. Look for following shaders and OPEN them in WORDPAD (or Notepad++ if you have it): df226b8076adab82-vs_replace fb66e38457882d4f-vs_replace Run the game and enter the Docking tutorial. Alt + Tab into WORDPAD, which you should have opened one of the shaders with. Around line 31 or 33 you should see this: o1.x += separation * 1.065; Tweak the number (1.065) in the line by small increments of between 0.005 and 0.2. Making the number bigger pushes the nebula deeper; smaller make it more shallow. Do the same for the other shader. Save the files. Alt tab into game. Press F10 to reload the shaders. Rinse and repeat. Finished? Replace the new d3dx.ini with the original that came with the fix. Restart. :) All the best mate! BTW, whereabouts are you in game? I am at WISE 1800 something and farming the RES there. I am making about 1 mil credits every 15 minutes in my Vulture! :) I just don't know where to go/do now. Any ideas? I guess I should explore so I can find starmaps I have missed.

Sure. I will post when I get back. Sadly the stations do look darker now. I had to remove many station effects because they were seriously borked. I tried to fix them but couldn't. I did mention the darker stations on the Helix site. Someone better than me might have better luck...? I just roleplay stations are just dingier places. I found I got used to them. I have lightboost too. If you like I could tell you which shaders affect the stations and you could just remove them and toggle to 2D when in the station? How do the nebs and starfield look BTW?

Here are some. I have picked a dark station for worse case. Other stations can be lighter; it depends on the paintjob of the station and whether or not a 'light' is on you. At its worse - under the station: In the station: In space entering the station - I think this is cool: It's at its worse when your are underground in the station. Fortunately a light rotates around the ship so you can at least see the components. Until it drifts away... Well I found the few mods you made and omitted them I think the stations look better with the lights and my ship lights are working again now too .. ;) I really appreciate the mod it has been great so far.. ED is a very cool game and I just got a new Vulture with a killer Spec build from the forums..

That's awesome! Thanks. :) Which shaders did you choose to omit? Some borked effects are certainly more tolerable than others. I will put them as an optional. Vulture are awesome. One on one I can take on any ship in a HIREZ zone and have no problem with wings of smaller ships. I have a short tale of woe involving my first Vulture. I wasn't very nice to it. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=195402 Update to the above-linked story: I mothballed the Clipper, stripped it and sold off its guns and equipment and bought and A-spec kitted out another Vulture, as well as an Asp, with the money! :) EDIT Mate I have just tried omitting a couple of shaders and defo much lighter! But for me they are just too borked. But I have re enabled a couple of shaders and I think it is a bit lighter! They are a little dodgy but really far from dodgy enough to worry about! :) I have still disabled bloom because it is 2D and one of the more significant station shaders but have removed two of the disable shaders for lights. I will re-upload.

For what it is worth, Elite Dangerous is on sale for less than a tenner on steam. Great looking MMORPG (or optionally solo) space sim.

I keep getting crashed in 3D. After 10-15 minutes screen goes black - music keeps playing and pc is unresponsive so that I need to reset it. How annoying - I just bought it to play in 3 D :( Anyone else have experienced this?

Did you tweak the nebula depth? Most people (and myself) suffer crashing exactly as you describe it, if they are still in the tweak mode. Does it beep if you press F10? If so, put the normal d3dx.ini back in. When I look for shaders I have to turn off SLI to make it more stable and put SLI back on when I have finished. If this isn't the case the game is known for its sucky SLI support. FD did eventually add it but it isn't the greatest. I have found 2D or 3D, fix or no fix, I get a smoother experience with SLI off. You could try SLI off. The game isn't intensive in the slightest. You should easily get 60+ FPS even with 2.0 supersampling and SLI off on your rig!

Interesting - I have to put the original d3dx.ini back after the tweak? That was not mentioned in the fix. Besides, im running at 1440p (using dsr, xmaa and supersampling 1.0) Btz, my video memory gets filled up within minutes until 12G is fully allocated on both titan x's. Is that normal?javascript:void();
