3D with ASUS PB287Q
So I have always wanted to try 3D with PC games, I recently got a ASUS PB287Q, I love it, I have a GeForce GTX 760 in my rig, I am considering buying the stuff for setting up 3D, I was looking at the requirements for a setup and realized my monitor isn't compatible. So my question is if I would be able to set up 3D with it even though it's not on the list, would it be possible? If not why wouldn't it work? What is the hardware difference in a 3D-Ready monitor vs a non 3D-Ready monitor. Thanks! :)

Also will my 760 work with 3D Vision 2?

Your 760 will work (though it's on the weaker side, especially for 3D), but you won't get anywhere with that monitor, unfortunately. The difference between a 3D monitor and a non-3D monitor, is mostly in the refresh rate. You need 120hz for 3D, in order to get 60fps per eye. 3D monitors also need nVidia certification. Unfortunately, there is no way around this.

Hmm, so I have my heart set on doing a 3D setup, right now I have the big 28" 4K Asus monitor, plus 1 cheapo 18" 1600x1080P panel I picked up used, so I assume if I do 3D I would get another large monitor and alternate between using that and and the 4K one as my main screen, so what would be my best option for a cheaper nVidia certified monitor around 28" or smaller?

Probably the VG278H. Though you'll probably need a better GPU setup for newer titles to run smoothly. You could SLI your 760, or preferably sell it and upgrade to SLI 970. 3-way SLI doesn't provide much benefit, so don't go that far though.
