James Cameron's AVATAR - THE GAME (Demo) ...a look on "James Cameron's Avatar - The Game
  1 / 6
Hey guys ...

Just for your information: The Demo of "James Cameron's AVATAR - THE GAME" has been uploaded official on www.cokezero.de !!!

Whatever Coca-Cola has to do with "AVATAR" ... i'm downloading this right now and come back, to post my impressions and some pictures in S3D...

In the meanwhile: some of u played the demo allready ??? What are u thinking people ? Good game, or not - and what do u think of 3D Vision with it ???

UPDATE 1 - 16.11.2009 / 22:20

I'm very sorry - but the download-speed is absolutly lame ... im running max @ 34 kbps - and that's not because of my dsl 2000 ( what isn't very fast too ) ^^
I let the download do over-night - posting my impressions tomorrow, when it's done ...
Hope that the download will have finished !!! !!!

At the meantime: Someone else can post pictures in S3D ??? Anybody ???

UPDATE 2 - 17.11.2009 - 17:00

Demo is fully downloaded - now installing and i come back later to post some pics and my very first impressions !!!
...like sombody else said: "Just give me some time to play ^^!!!"

UPDATE 3 - FIRST IMPRESSIONS and PICS in S3D

So, after a hour of playing that demo - it needs to be said:
I'm sorry: but this game reminds me too much on "Lost Planet" to be special ...
Yes - the world looks very impressive - sometimes fascinating - but the most time you just run through little level-doors and shoot on everything, that u see !!!

The synchronization is awesome - but the graphics could be MUCH BETTER !!!
Often it looks very steril, overdrawed and like a comic-adaption - not my style friends !!!

The good news: "Lost Planet" was not bad - this game is like a "LOST PLANET ON PANDORA" inclusive massive big robots u need to kill harder enemies !
The bad news: "LOST PLANET" is MUCH BETTER !!! "AvATAR - The Game" is a rail-shooter - nothing more !!! If i would test this demo with a not by 1 (very good) to 6 (very bad) ... it would just reach a 3+ (middle) !!!

Let's hope, that the full game gives us more story, more interesting charakters and much more fascinating experience ...

So on - looking forward for a good game...

THE 3D-Effect:
With one word - Ok !
It's not that impressive, i hoped it would be ... Yes - it is working good - yes it looks not bad ... but i hoped it would be maked for 3D from the ground up (menu and hud and so on...)
but the world itself works great - just the popout effects are very limited - !!!
And AVATAR - THE GAME is far away from looking as good as the movie in 3D ... but i hoped it would look the same - my hope is falling down :-(

BUT remember: for a computergame the 3D Effect works good - not perfect - not so impressive as all the fans out there hoped - not great ... but good !!

So ... for now: Have Fun by plaing this demo ...

Thanks for the demo link. Download speed was pretty good (~1Mbs). There is a missing txt file or some such that caused an error while install but I clicked ignore and the install went fine after that.

After 10 min playing, I can say the S3D quality is superb if not the best I've seen. Graphic design is of top quality, easily better even than Tomb Raider: Underworld. Gameplay seems to be rich with lots of toys like armor, and land/air vehicles. The alien ecosystem is just out of this world design. To say it's beautiful is an understatement of the day.

Love it. It's a buy for me.

Hey,

Just got it. Its the first game that has lots of S3D systems to choose one. Of course 3D Vision is included. I think this will be pretty solid 3D title. The 3D is just gorgeous. No flaws whatsoever. Its has lots of depth even at lower settings at the 3D slider. I recommend the download.

Here some S3D Pics:

iOnic, when you enabled the 3D Vision, did you have to manually hit the button on the receiver thingy?

I guess my system sucks. I barely got it to play at 20frames per second max. And the ghosting was there I had to force myself to ignore it. Not to mention I'm not fond of the game play anyway, I guess I'll stick to my fps games

Heads up on performance.

The game has a strange bug. When you press strg + t to switch 2d/3d the game performes 100% 2d and only 33% 3d (like 60 fps in 2d, 20 FPS in 3d, measured with fraps).

Now if you stay in 3d and alt+tab to destop and back again your performance in 3d rises (to 30 FPS, or the ususal 50%).

So, if you think the game is strangely slow give alt tabbing a shot. Very strange, but reproducable for me.

Yer'd think for an S3D pimping title they'd have the game running properly at least! :(
