So what your trying to tell us is to use the Old HDMI cables (1.2) and keep them as short as possible?
Im buying the H5360 soon, and the minimum distance from my Computer will be around 6-7 meters!! will i have sync issues??

W4RDY
I'm running 10 meters HDMI no problem, it's a 1,3 HDMI shielded cable. You probably need a shielded cable to get 120Hz working flawless. I've tested an 10 meter unshielded here aswell; and it only works on 60Hz. When i put it on 120hz i just get a black screen.

The shielded cables are usually more expensive. Mine was 60 euro. A while back back there was a lot of fuss about expensive HDMI cables. I always believed it to be true; so i always bought to cheapest cables. The thing with HDMI cables the quality of the cable does matter, but it depends on what your trying to send through it. A cheap cable will do 1080p@60Hz fine will not beeing able to do 720p@120Hz(or 1440P@60hz which is basically the same in bandwidth terms)

Just keep in mind that for extreme lengths(10 m and up) and 120Hz you really need an high quality HDMI cable.

Well my projector sits at about 8 meters so i can not really use a short cable. I am using a vga cable with the pc because if i use hdmi my pc wont recognize the projector, it would say standard pnp monitor or something like that. Funny thing is that it used to work via hdmi with the same cable that now doesnt.
I have noticed flickering but for me what really makes a difference is to keep my room as dark as possible and keep the emiter at about 2 meters from the glasses.

Other issue with HDMI... what about the PS3 ?? have you guys tried to connect the PS3 via hdmi ?? i have tried a dozen cables (1.3 - even 1.4 short, long, everything i could think of) and no luck at all, nothing is detected. Today I have ordered two more cables, I am starting to be really frustrated with this.
I can use my xbox 360 with any of the cables via HDMI and it looks perfect, I have even tried with 3 different PS3 (fat, slim....), no luck.

Well I'm just sharing my test results. I also have a 5m 1.3 HDMI cable now with DVI-HDMI dongle. It also works with all games and videos, including Nürburgring video.

@bartdesign: have you played the Nürburgring video with your 10m HDMI cable? With my 10m cable all my games work fine in 3D at 120Hz720 but only this Nürburgring video goes out of sync a lot.

I have no idea why this Nürburgring video is so difficult to play with the longer 10m cable.

Also I have another problem, I live in Belgium and have a Telenet HD cable set-top box to watch TV. Strange thing is when I connect with HDMI cable (5m or 10m) it looses sync a lot BUT after about 15minutes it does not loose sync anymore and is completely stable !?! This happens each time I try to watch a movie, I always have to wait 15minutes, very odd...

Has anybody tried a HDMI repeater/amplifier like this:

Finally I found some people with the same problem!! Thank god! I've already thought that I'm crazy /shifty.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':shifty:' />
I use a 10m DVI to HDMI, my Acer 5350 is recognized and seems to work without a problem (no screen bugs on desktop) with the cable. "Nürburgring", "Bold", "Skydivers" and "Oldtimers" ALWAYS work perfectly! All other clips (e.g. Heidelberg, Mouldpenny...) have strange colours (mostly green shadows on white areas) and get out of sync from time to time. And in all HD videos transferred from anaglyph like "Coraline" "Journey to the centre of the earth"...I alsp have colour changings (in form of red coloured artefacts especially on faces). "Shrek 3D" runs fine. That is definitely strange strange... but as you have all tested different cables I will do so, too!

Damnit! Even with a short VGA cable the green colours are still in the videos I have mentioned /yucky.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':yucky:' />
Have heard that also Windows 7 64bit which I use shall cause timing problems!? Will install and try Vista 32bit tomorrow...ähm sorry today :-)

I was having the exact same problem but more so with bolt, all other 3d videos ran fine except nurburgring which always crashes the video player for me. I'm using an 8m DVI to HDMI cable but when i swapped back to the VGA cable i noticed it doing the exact same thing.

Eventually, I uninstalled the drivers, did a driver clean and reinstalled and now all videos and games are working fine on the projector on both HDMI and VGA cables.
So....this colour sync thing (especially for 3d videos) and odd ghosting may not be just down to the cables you are using.

I'm using 1.20 on windows 7.

For some reason, nurburgring still does not get more than 20 seconds in before crashing the video player.

Hey I have a solution for that one: right click on the link of "NVIDIA 3D Vision Video Player" --> properties --> compatibility --> choose "Windows XP SP3"
I think it is cause of the 64bit Version even though they claim it as 64bit compatible...

Thanks for your hints! Will see how it works after a clean re-install....

I made some tests:

New installed Vista 64bit system made things even worse (compared to Windows 7 64bit), with VGA and short HDMI cable almost all clips went out of sync!!! /verymad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':verymad:' />

VGA cable has a lot of ghosting in both Windows 7 and Vista with any driver version!!!
Short HDMI cable fixed most of the ghosting in Windows 7 64bit: /turned.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':turned:' />

all clips except Rhine_Valley_576p.wmv, Mouldpenny_576p.wmv, Heidelberg_576p.wmv, Do 27 Treffen 768p.wmv work fine.

3D-DVDs (Spy Kids etc.) finally work fine now!

XVID HD Movies converted from anaglyph now work fine, too (Coraline 3D, Journey to the centre of earth, Bob's big break, Final Destination)

Games (GRID, Swat 4) work fine (as they did before)
Does anybody have more ideas why these wvc1 codec clips don't work properly?
But man I'm glad that it's not caused by the projector or by the nvidia glasses! Otherwise all clips wouldn't work, right?!

@dogcam: can you do me a favour and test the Heidelberg_576p.wmv (http://http.download.nvidia.com/video/3d_Video/Heidelberg_576p.wmv) clip? Do you see ghosting (green shadows) at the beginning behind the red "HDD3D" sign?! Thanks

HI Guys,

I am also having this sync issue with my Acer H5360. I have tried both HDMI 1.3b (3m long) as well as VGA cable (that came with this projector) with no luck. I see severe flickering in almost all videos. Games seems to work fine. What should I do to fix this problem?

Thanks
Arun

As everybody has sync problems in different videos I'm beginning to see the pc hardware as a cause!?
@imarum, what graphics card do you have?!
Let's make a new thread to get nvidias attention! /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I am using GTX 260. Yesterday I did a clean reinstall but it did not change anything. Games seems to be working fine with no problems. There is problem in videos, most of the time they work fine but sometime they tend to be out of sync or something and I see double image (I see some greenish/reddish color when this happens which is strange). What do you guys are observing? Did you also see some colors when it become our of sync? Also these colors does not seems to be in the image because when i tried to look at the screen without glasses then there was no colors anomaly on the screen. So its just the glasses which are causing this.

Ok all...

heidelberg downloaded and plays 100% nice and fine with not one instance of ghosting or going out of sync.

I then tried nurburgring again and it was almost unwatchable. The projector seemed to constantly seek for sync with colours fading in and out.
Then tried "fly me to the moon" (i use this to demo 3d to friends and family) and it too struggled to play without going out of sync although not as bad as nurburg,

Really annoying since I know it has worked fine with these drivers and I havn't changed anything I can think of recently.
I'm pretty sure it's not the cable or the hardware as it all worked fine last week!

I have an i7 940 @ 4ghz with 8gb ram, 2 x gtx295 on asus rampage2, win7 64, CD 1.20 . I have three other screens connected including a dell 30" but all disabled in the control panel, might try disconnecting them tomorrow and see if that helps.

Had a theory during my last post that i've just tested and have found (nearly) the cause.

Unplugged all other screens, rebooted and disabled SLI and then all movies play fine without any sync issues at all.
I would say it's more to do with the screens being unplugged rather than the sli because I normally have this enabled for games but rarely have all 4 screens plugged in all the time.
Sorry, not enough time for further testing tonight but certainly something to go on for you guys?

Incidentally, i put 3d movie player in to xp sp3 compatibility mode but nurburg still locks up although it plays a bit longer now before doing so.
