When the heck is the new driver coming out?!?!?!?! Over a month waiting for a new dr
  1 / 3
Hey Nvidia, I hate to rant, but seriously all of us are waiting fro a new driver from you guys on both the GPU side and 3D Vision side, esp after your 196.75 came out and failed I would think a new one would be out.

So many games came out since the last release not to mention the fact that Bioshock 2 still does not work with SLI (3d or Non 3d) it has major artifacts.

On top of that BFBC:2 and many other games AC 2 need profiles...

We kept hearing 2 weeks ago that it would be out within the week but nothing is here.
I know that you guys are busy on launching GPU's that should have come out last quarter but it would be nice to see some support on our end!

Sorry for the rant, I would just like to know an actual date, something no one is giving out.
Again sorry I HATE ranting!

In case you haven't heard, nVidia is in the midst of a slight driver emergency and has pulled the most recent WHQL drivers offline and issued a warning against using them. Hopefully we'll see a driver package update as soon as the rest of the world does. Right now, they're busy scrambling to work out the serious bug that plagued the last set.

Me too, they are working great. Just make sure you lock your fan on with a overclocking program. 'evga precision' for instance....

are you talking about "normal NVIDIA gfx driver profiles"?

or are you talking about new stereo driver profiles? if so.. i must have missed the moment when NVIDIA did start packing updated stereo drivers in the installation of a normal gfx driver?
i was convinced that we have to wait a special, separate release for updated streodrivers (which ofc would include also "normal" drivers).

The real kick in the teeth comes when the new set is finally released and we still have to wait for the 3DVision driver package. That always confuses me as to why there is a wait period.
Still looking forward to trying out Bioshock 2 ,not so glad I waited ,an now God of War 3 will likely get played before it

Hey guys, Well we know that 196.75 drivers got pulled, didnt effect me as I run 3 GTX 280's Watercooled. But the fact of the matter is I bought Bioshock 2 more than a month ago and havent gotten past the first 5 minutes due to it having a problem with SLI. On top of that the game has a 3D vision toggle and it doesnt even feature a built in 3D crosshair.

Next BFBC:2 came out and from the DEV side works GREAT. they pathced it on day one. But Nvidia has yet to put a profile on to it and some things dont work because of that (SLI users get this i'm sure).

Lastly a couple of other games have come out like AC2 and they need profiles.

And we have to also wait longer for a 3D Vision CD release which Andrew said would come out a week ago. (he stated this more than 2 weeks ago that a new 3d driver release would be out within 1.5 weeks.)

Again I really hate ranting as Performance is almost always at my side due to the type of system I create but with 3D vision and some SLI issues that seems to be moot and out of my hand.

I'm guessing that releasing a video driver that was capable of destroying video cards may have heads rolling over in the driver department now, that's a pretty major event. They may be implementing a whole new testing methodology to prevent this from happening again. I really hope they can get out of this rut, I've had a long good run with Nvidia but the last few months have been pretty bad. I'm hanging in there but this kind of thing is what made me leave ATI in the first place, it came time for a system upgrade and they just simply did not have their act together.

Same eh.. I was always under the impression that these 'profiles' where gonna be let loose to us to download 1 for each game...

The 196.75 drivers contained 3D profiles for a number of games.

I don't know the exact list, but I do remember:

Just Cause 2 - 3D Ready
Metro 2033 - 3D Ready
Assassin's Creed II - Good
