Hello! I'm just fixing up the configuration of my new PC.
Its ability to use Revelator is the most important factor.
I have chosen Intel platform.
Could You help me with answering two question?
1. I have heard that stereo nvidia drivers do not support systems
based on processors with more than one core
(ex.: Intel E 4300). In this case I would be forced to buy
P4 with one core or even maybe Celeron (I am not sure how is it
with this enigmatic commercial definition of internal memory of
modern P4 - "2 x 1 MB" - could it be as improper for 3D as "dual core").
So, is it possible to use Revelator with for ex. E 4300 or not?
2. Proper Graphic Card to minimalize probability of troubles.
I think about 7300 series - they seems to appear infrequently in posts
about troubles.
Of course I will stay with XP as long as it will make sense and DX 10 question
is not important for me for year or maybe even more.
Greetings for all real 3D admirers!
Not everyone with dual core processors has problems with the nVidia stereo drivers. Also, it is probably a temporary problems to be corrected with future driver versions. Lastly, it is not difficult to disable a core if needed to run in stereo.
In short, I would just get the dual core if I were you. Add the fastest nVidia card you can afford, but beware of the 8xxx series. They do not have working stereo drivers yet (most think the drivers will be working in the next few months though). Also, I would steer clear of SLI solutions as they are less reliable in stereo.

go for the Core 2 Duo - it´s currently the best bang for the buck by far. You can switch one core off whenever you need (option /numproc=1 in boot.ini) and it´s still faster than a P4, let alone Celeron.
Alternatively, register at http://www.mtbs3d.com where you can dl a profiler that can be used to configure single apps to run with 1 core only. I haven´t tried it myself, though.
As for graphics: currently ForceWare 91.31 + 3D drivers work. There are newer versions but more often than not they´re just rubbish. Meaning: 7k9GTX is the fastest card supporting 3D at the moment.
