Saving depth setting (str+f7) does not work though it's saved it's not reloaded when you sta
Hi folks,

I would like your feedback on this:

When I save my ingame depth settings of 3d vision via strg+f7 the driver tells me: configuration saved. So far, so good.

It also creates a profile under C:\Users\"yourusername"\Documents\NVStereoscopic3D.LOG. For every game - fine.

BUT... it does not load that profile when I start an new game. It simply uses the LAST depth setting change I made - in whichever game. So lets say some days ago I saved settings for warhammer online (70% depth). So today I play Aion and choose and save 12% depth setting. Then I restart Warhammer Online - I would expect 70%, right? But, no, it's 12% from my last change. It's 12% in every game I load thereafter.

To me it seems that you can save a game's individual depth settings, but the driver only loads your last setting - in whatever game you made this. Concerning convergence this is harder to compare, I will have to do some checks later on.

This happens to me with 1.17 on vista 64bit. How does it work for you?

I think you are mistaking things. Ctrl + F7 is and advanded in game settings shortcut that will only save convergence settings (Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + F6) and cycle frustum adjustments ( Crtl + F11). Depth settings are not controled by advanced shortcuts. Your depth settings will stay the same until you scroll it again using the IR receiver. You have to adjust depth depending on what game you are going to play. Anyway is a lot easier to adjust depth rather then convergence.
I'm using 1.17 drivers but to me it has always been like that. I've never seen depth settings been saved using this this shortcut ( Crtl + F7)

Ah ok, so it's plannend this way, thank you.

But I wonder if this is the best plan actually. Depth settings work always in conjunction with convergence - the both of them are influencing each other. When raising depth, only lower amounts of convergence are bearable, for example.

So, in my opinion this should be changed: A save option for both settings (depth and convergence) should be implemented. The save files I metioned seem to contain separation data (depth). So I wonder if this is planned for the future or was skipped at some point in the past?

Well, we will never know due the obvious lack of people from nvidia caring to deal with such questions (yes, yes, usuer-to-user... lame and no excuse for missing official forums with responses from devs)
