nvidia misleading yet again! War Thunder
Humm always frustrating when it happens... http://www.geforce.co.uk/hardware/technology/3d-vision/games WT is second from top!!!! http://www.geforce.co.uk/games-applications/pc-games/war-thunder It looks like rubbish to me! Ground textures are black in one eye. Water is screwed too. Kinda significant for a flight sim, the ground. Does anyone know a fix? The helix blog page for this game is down. :( or NVIDIA Please remove from the page because you are lying again.

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

I'm not the one to raise nvidia to the skies... :D However: War thunder is supposed to have native support for some devices (pending on and off for Oculus Rift even). Is there a button for 3d-vision or similar in the game-options?

Hmm... it works well for me in 3d vision but still has a few issues (rendering settings on auto 340.52 drivers). (it's especially great on a projector rig with head tracking + depth hack :))I think shadows caused some flickering for me so you might try it with shadows off and there's a slight halo around the cockpit edges but that can be minimized by adjusting convergence. I think the ground level is a little off so it looks like you are too low on the ground but in the air is fine. There were also some maps that had problems with rivers but most work fine and I usually use the test flight option and the mission editor to select map and weather conditions that work well and you can then set up custom scenarios with up to 80+ planes in the sky etc... so you don't just have to get slaughtered in MP play while trying to enjoy the 3d. It also allows you to bind a key to toggle the hud off and you can reduce the amount of text in the icons, so lots of options to play with to get it how you like. I can also confirm war thunder works well with the RIFT DK2 :))), the resolution limit makes things at a distance a little hard to make out but the head tracking and virtual cockpit is amazing. You can turn your head around and actually check your six where it should be. Definitely a leap in immersion. VR still has a way to go but as the resolution and fov gets improved it's going to be a whole new world for cockpit based sims. WT played in 3rd person with 3d vision with the plane popping out of the screen is pretty cool too...

@someskunkfunk: Interesting to hear it works in DK2. Do you use the same graphic settings and need to remvove shadows as well? Anything significant about the graphic settings to make it work?

@bo3b: Actually shadows work fine in DK2 as do the rivers, the only thing I notice so far is the slight halo still around the cockpit edges but it's not too bad. Otherwise I just tick the oculus rift box and can pretty much max out the rest of the settings since it's only rendering 1 1080p image that each eye sees half of and there's no max 2X AA restriction as with 3d vision so that helps with the resolution limitation. Wish Nvidia would remove that 2X AA limit or offer an override for 3d vision if the display is a 720p projector for instance...
