You should be fine. The new glasses work with the old kit and vice-versa. I have a v1 kit and both v1 and v2 glasses, the IR protocol has not changed.

It sounds to me like there is a problem with the V2 glasses. I think orange blinking light means that the battery is not charged, so all I can suggest is that you try and charge the glasses. It might be worth just leaving them plugged in for hours if you haven't already tried. Beyond that, I would google the problem further or try and return them if they are in warranty.

Seems pretty normal. Plug them into a known powered spot and let them charge all night, and the orange light should go out. You can charge with a phone charger too. Make sure that they are still charging if the computer or hub goes to sleep. I killed a pair by connecting them to a hub that turned off the power when the computer went to sleep.
