World Cup on 3D Vision? Is there a possibility?
Hi Folks,

Just wondering what would need to happen for Nvidia to have the World Cup (of Soccer) streamed much like the 2010 Masters Tournament. Was waiting for my Alienware monitor while that was going on and didn't get to check it out.

I imagine it would be something ESPN would have to allow since they will be brodcasting games in the US (much the way the Masters worked). I read somewhere that only a certain amount of World Cup games will actually be broadcast in 3D with the US having one preliminary stage game in 3D.

FIFA and Sony today announced something that will likely to please soccer fans: Sony is going to record and then broadcast the 2010 World Cup in 3D.

Before you get too excited, we'll break the news that not everyone is going to see these glorious 3D soccer matches. TechRadar reports that only a few cities will show the games in 3D. Those of you living in, or willing to travel to Berlin, London, Mexico City, Paris, Rio De Janeiro, Rome, and Sydney are a lucky bunch.

The deal will see Sony record up to 25 of the World Cup matches in 3D. The footage will be shown at FIFA International Fan Fests in the cities mentioned above. According to the BBC, there are no definite plans to broadcast the matches live in 3D. However, that is something FIFA has said, "is a possibility," and will be deciding over the coming months.

There's also going to be an official Blu-ray 3D release. Any soccer fans
bummed Sony doesn't have plans to air the footage here in the U.S.? Let us know in the comments below!

ESPN will have a dedicated 3D channel starting with the World Cup this June:

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=4796555

Id like to see the games in 3D live on 3D Vision. I'm thinking now FIFA, if anyone, would provide a stream of games over the internet.

I'm recording it now live the opening, just gonna use capture card it's broadcast on free to air channel here in Australia Sydney.
I also got the State of Origin recorded if anyone is interested in me putting it somewhere, it is rugby league for those that don't know :)

They are broadcasting side by side and I just record it with windows media center and play it back through Nvidia's player fine without any loss as it is the raw file, I'm talking 80 mins of rugby league was 9 gig first half and 13 gig second half.

Just need a tv card is it works a charm, not live but all you would have to do is chuck the live recording to a stream maybe vlc or something then you could use it live with the stereoplayer.

I would be extremely interested in this too. Do you have an FTP or anything? Also, would you fancy doing a live stream for the next games? :D

Guys plz plz plz since I live in Albania there is no chance I can get any 3d broadcast, so if it is possible to u I would appreciate if u record those files of World Cup for watching later on our PC in 3D vision. Since the files are large I would recommend making a torrent out of those or uploading in rapidshare or megaupload.

What do u think? Can u make this little dream possible??

Thnx anyway!
