W7 users can use the latest fix for The Walking Dead New Frontier that was posted by Neovad.

It seems that you can not tab out of the game. AFAIK, this is because the Telltale Engine sucks and does not properly build a fullscreen window in W7. bo3b came up with a workaround, but unfortunately, it doesn't rebuild itself properly when re-entering the game.
Also, there's info on Steam about saves not being generated and/or getting wiped. Check Steam discussions for more info.
BTW, this is still currently available on Steam and GoG

I had a copy of W8.1 that I picked up cheap and never used. So I installed it to see if the alt tabbing would be fixed because of the WDDM features that are not available in Windows 7. Unfortunately, there is no difference, once you alt tab, 3D is lost and you must restart the game.
W10 might not have this issue though, because it was said that 3D could be engaged without the fix in dx11 TellTale games. Great game so far, if you enjoyed the Movies and don't mind TellTales lack of gameplay.
