What's the best 30" monitor for 3D Vision? Are any of them really any good? I'm having trouble finding 120Hz 30" monitors, let alone 240Hz 30" monitors..
Anybody have any experience with a 30" monitor?
Edit: I should note that my CRT Samsung 19" monitor is ghosting a bit.. I've taken photos of it with a capture duration 1/2 the refresh rate (0.5 * ( 1 / refresh rate))and it's showing that the monitor is still glowing a small amount from the previous refresh as it starts to draw the new refresh.. And I'm almost positive that's causing the ghosting.. Must be some material coating they put on the inside of the monitor to increase the brightness / contrast that's retaining a slight glow from the previous refresh to the next refresh.. That'd be my guess... The higher I crank the refresh rate on my Samsung CRT, the more copies of layered ghosting I get.. In any case, I'm looking at a new monitor..

There are no 30" 120Hz LCDs. 120Hz LCDs come in 22" & 24"; Asus has announced a 27" available this summer. Currently, the choice is either a small LCD or a giant DLP or projector -- there's no in-between right now.

One major thing to note about the 27" is that it is still 1080p, for example the iMac has a 27" monitor which is 2560X1440. I wouldnt mind a 30" 2560X1440 120 hz monitor. I'm sure it would be just as taxing as 3D surround so it should be possible.

Ya, that's exactly what I was hoping for..
I've seen some 240 Hz TVs and was thinking that 2560x1600@120Hz wouldn't be too much to ask for, but I guess it is.. Apparently DVI isn't even capable of going up that high with 120 hz refresh..
Decisions decisions....
I guess I'll be waiting for that 27" monitor.. Hopefully the anti-aliasing will pick up where the resolution doesn't reach..

I have been enjoying pc games for 2 years on 30"2560x1600 dell 2008. With enough graphics horsepower to drive such an ultra high def display (gtx285x2zSLI) the experience is sublime. It has only recently been surpassed by the acer245Hz 1080p@120hz monitor which provides an incredibly immersive experience, though I do miss the larger actual field of view and extra detail of the 2560x1600 display.
I have been considering 2 more acer 2453D monitors for 3DVision surround. However I doubt that even the 2 GTX480s that i plan to purchase will give good framerates for 6 million pixels (@120hz?). And I don't like the idea of a 48:9 aspect ratio.
I have also been excited about the upcoming large format true120hz tvs. However it seems that, althougth these displays are 1080p, they will only do 720p in 3D. I think that 720p presented in 50" display will certainly lack detail and tend to be pixelated despite aa.
Hopefully some of these TVs will support 1080p @120hz through HDMI 1.4 (which is capable of supporting such a signal).
An excellent alternative would be a 30" 2560x1600 display @ 120hz, which I would instantly purchase. I can only imagine enjoying 3D vision with such a display the detail, depth, and immersiveness would completely envelope your head and mind.
I recently showed dark void to a helicopter pilot friend of mind who had to take the glasses off after a short time because the flight sequences were so intense in 3Dvision.
