3D Vision 2 Color distortion
Hi!

My name is Laszlo. Sorry for my english.
I have a BENQ MW512 projestor a pair of DLP Link glasses and I bought a 3D Vision 2 Wired glass.
When I watch 3D with the DLP link, I need to enable 3D sync in my projector. When I enable it, the brightness is bad without the glasses because in 3D sync mode the projector use the white color to sync, thats why 3D sync mode disable the brillant color (6 color wheel). Its OK.
But I hate it, so bought a 3D Vision 2 wired glass. With the nvidia glass I dont need to enable the projector 3D sync option. The screen is bright and good.
BUT:
In 120Hz mode there is some color distortion when I watch thru the glass. The white is pinkisch, the skin is blurry, and where is a color transition it has lines.
In 3D sync option the problem is the same. I change cables to VGA, DVI, and HDMi 1.4a but the problem is the same.
When I force it to 119, or 121Hz the screen is very good. No color distortion just fine pic. But in games or full screen video playing it goes back to 120 Hz and color problem again.

How can I force it to 119Hz always?! Or how can I solve the color problem? Maybe it is some delay problem I think.

I found the name of problem: color banding or posterization.
So i have color banding with 3d vision in 120Hz but no banding in 119 or 121 Hz or under 120 Hz. But in game it goes to 120 Hz and banding again.

I have a similar red posterization problem using nVidia 3D Vision Wired Glasses and an Acer H5360 DLP projector. I've been using DLP-Link glasses, which work fine, but the screen is very bright due to the DLP synch signal.

I thought the color problems were only present with the wired glasses, and have heard that the 3D Vision 2 glasses fix that problem.

How did you force your refresh rate to 119 Hz? I'd like to try that with my wired glasses.

You can create new resolution. Open NVIDIA control panel, go to Display/Change resolution. There is a button: Customize... and here You can create a resolution: 1280X720 119Hz. After that in the top of the list will be the custom res. But when You choose it and enable 3D (change 3D always on), it will swap lef and right eye. But You can swap it in the video player. It works only in windoved mode. I use Stereoplayer and when I load a movie I choose right eye first in side by side mode. But when go in full screen it change refresh to 120Hz. :( But I can see the 3D works.

Can you select 119 Hz when attempting to run the nVidia 3D test application? If so, I wonder if selecting Apply this refresh rate to all games would work.

I can select 119 Hz in test application and it runs 119 Hz. But "Apply this refresh rate to all games" button hides. I can only apply it when I chose 120 Hz. I wrote to Nvidia and the said my projector don't compatible with 3D Vision. I wrote to Nvidia that the Acer customers have this problem too but they send me the same answer: my projector don't compatible. They can't understand me. Or they don't want to help me. Maybe I will buy a wireless kit. Maybe it will work because in other forum I read it.
