Reviews indicate the puzzles are frustrating and poorly designed in many places, so I'm giving it a miss.
Most of reviewers have a pretty favorable opinion about Unravel, despite some frustrating puzzle. Level design seems to be really well done.

Gorgeous visuals. Would be incredible in 3D. Maybe enough to forgive some wonky mechanics. I just have trouble completing these side scrolling games. They haven't been my thing since I gave up my Sega Genesis and took up PC gaming.

Some of them are really awesome like Ori and the Blind Forest for example;) I wonder if this game has the same style/story... Based on the description it sounds very alike;)

Looks interesting. Unfortunately on the wrong platform. I almost never play my Origin games. So I might take a look when it is on sale in one month and costs only 10 EUR.

What exactly don't you like about Origin ?
The way I see it..
+ In origin you can choose NOT to auto update games !
+ The layout looks much more appeling, with large icons.
+ You have an option to hide game icons, thats not installed, and that is NICE !
+ Free games regulary..

I dislike Origin because it's EA.
I hate EA for lots of things they've done in the past and still do.
Unfortunately, they have some great games that are only available on Origin.
Uplay, Rockstar Social Club, etc are not highly regarded by me either.
But it's not like there's an alternative, other than not playing the games associated with them.
I don't like the shop;
I don't like the service: bought several times old games where the support told me to subscribe to an old version of EA, kind of pre-origin. But it did not help. Fortunately, I got my money back.
I don't like to have in general my PC games on different plaforms; I therefore erased all my Windows Live games and bought some of them again on Steam; I also only buy Ubisoft games via Steam, so I can use Steam as a single platform.
I don't like that I cannot buy Origin games on Steam, in order to play them with playtime counter, etc. via Steam.
I don't like that games like Battlefield, etc. have to be started via browser where they download every single time some special plugin.
Overall I do not see the point to have separate plaforms on PC. And it is not even a matter of concurrence, but simply of convenience.
Yeah, the free games are fine, the possibility to hide icons is also okay.
The layout is not for me, I don't like when on my desktop things look like on an ipad.

I agree with pretty much everything he said. Not saying it is better or worse than steam, but having 2 different platforms with different features for different games and different pool of friends is not my thing either. I also think that EA games miss a lot of sales because they are not on Steam.
Now back to the original thread. is the game any good on 3D?

Sorry to add to the 'off-topic' discussion in this thread, but just wanted to say that although I find it pain having uplay, origin, steam etc. I do think that they are forms of competition for steam and that's not a bad thing.
I know you can get steam keys from other sources, but I would be uncomfortable if steam was the only online distribution platform. As convenient as it is to have games in 'different places', sometimes you need to be careful what you wish for.
It wasn't that long ago that steam sales were genuinely terrific, now they're generally poor.
All big companies will try and build up as big a userbase as possible and once in a position of dominance will squeeze them for all they can. It's just a fact of life all those can get away with it, will do it.
That said, I can't see how Origin or Uplay can compete with Steam anyway, as they are publisher specific.
Maybe you could argue that let's have one form of electronic distribution for software and let publishers compete via pricing, but having one place for everything is not always a good thing.

Enthusiastic Steam customer, checking in.
Origin is great.
Outstanding customer service with live chat, generous refund policy in place before Steam offered refunds, the client doesn't suck any more.
I still avoid it where I can because I like to horde things in one place (Steam), but they've lifted their game in a major way.
Ubisoft still suck though. But uPlay's ability to play a partially downloaded game is nice.
Not a fan myself of Origin and while I have it, the real issue for me is that it is EA and the way they try to pigeon hole you on where to buy. I have Origin always offline and the browser launching on games is shit and there overall GUI is nothing to write home about.
Uplay is the all time worst and I will never buy any games that requires Uplay. I've had major problems through steam just to run the dam games I purchased and after Far Cry 3, that was the straw that broke the camels back. It took several days to get it work after purchase. Uplay software is invasive and completely a pile of shit and oh, don't forget PunkPuster that parasite that was difficult to get rid of....ugh.....Since Ubisoft sell through Steam, why the extra hassle and use of system resources with their crap online shitware. Ubisoft is like EA, greedy fuckers who don't give a shit about paying customers. I don't apologize for them and customer is king.
I do agree with rustyk though in terms of competition which can be good for the consumer. The problem is who wants all this different client software which want your attention. Login hassles, cluttered installs, orphan files, conflict with dlls, overlay issues, online only etc...it is a pain in the ass and completely anti consumer.
