Hello, I recently traded my laptop to a friend with a fairly decent gaming rig to get back into PC gaming. I usually play just WoW/SC2. I see now that they both support 3D, And I have some cash to play with so was thinking of upgrading my current setup to a decent 3D experience. I know right off that I'm going to need some new cards, and probably in SLI. Here's my current system specs....
I'm not very computer savy so if more information is needed let me know. My goal is to have WoW running at least 60+FPS in 3D. I am interested in playing some of the new games that are out and offer 3D so I'm looking for upgrades that will last awhile. Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

I have Asus GTX 260 and I think its a very good card: I am able to play games in 3D with ok FPS:
Your motherboard supports SLI, so you can consider to buy another GTX 260:
Also, you can get a new Processor
[s]You may also increase the Ram too. 2 + 2 = 4 GB[/s] [Sorry, didn't notice the last 2 : ) ]

for those games it looks like you will be OK..
other wise a 400 series or a 580 that just came out, not sure if that CPU will bottleneck a 580 though..
if that 260 cannot run WOW at 60FPS then something is wrong.
another 260 would be OK..
what are your monitor specs, and resolution..??
he already has 4GB Ram
I will suggest Win 7 64-bit if your not already

Those are not very demanding games, add another 260 or step up to a 400/500 series and you should be good. You should try those games out in 3D before shelling out for all the hardware, they are not '3D Ready' meaning there are some minor issues, I believe in this case all the icons / health bars are in 2D at screen depth. This may be a HUGE turn-off for some people.

I am currently using a hanns g 28" LCD 1080p monitor at a resolution I believe thats 1900x1200. Could you recommend a good 3D monitor? And I am using windows 7 ultimate 64bit. I think for the size of the monitor I have puts a strain on my GPU so I'm open to the idea of going smaller.

I was thinking of going into the 400 series with maybe two 480s but not sure if I have the room on my motherboard to fit them. Was also thinking if I couldn't fit them maybe going with one 580 but I'm sure the processor would bottle neck it. How much of a hassle would it be to upgrade the processor to maybe a Intel i7 and would one of those work on my motherboard?

In order to see 3D, a supported 3D display and glasses are needed. I suggest spending most money on a good display.
If you have any money left and you are not satisfied with your current hardware, then spend more to upgrade or replace it.
Your current system looks ok except you could upgrade the video card (or SLI) and/or do some overclocking.

for those games it looks like you will be OK..
other wise a 400 series or a 580 that just came out, not sure if that CPU will bottleneck a 580 though..

If you have any money left and you are not satisfied with your current hardware, then spend more to upgrade or replace it.
Your current system looks ok except you could upgrade the video card (or SLI) and/or do some overclocking.
