I don't have the always option in the control panel with the PG278Q (Windows 10, 368.69). It does get stuck in Lightboost often when I play fullscreen video even in G-Sync mode, but I never noticed if G-Sync was on or not at the same time. Could be related.

I didn't check your post history. Do you have a 3D Vision 2 kit? If you have it and play in 3D, it should be there.

Yeah, I have the emitter, but I don't think it gives you that option in Windows 10. Sometimes it will get stuck in Lightboost even with G-Sync supposedly enabled, but I never did notice if it enabled strobing and variable refresh at the same time (usually it happened with fullscreen video so I never tried a game to check).

Hahahahaha.... :(
As long as Lighboost (not ULMB) is working on your desktop, I think you could be able to do the trick.
But if it doesn't work... one more limitation to the list: Windows 7 mandatory (not sure about Windows 8).
