replace that graphics card with a gtx260 or higher and it's a completely different story though. Your CPU and memory and everything else should be more than enough, it's just your GPU is a lower performance model, not really suited for running modern games. I think even a 9800gt would be better for ya than that.

Your CPU could probably be overclocked by a good 700-1000mhz too btw, if you or any of your friends know about overclocking. My q9550 went from 2.8 to 3.4 w/o me even needing to touch the voltage.

I said the same thing for the first month. Now I crank it right up, my eyes are fine... They just need practice. I could even do more, but I think they have locked it at 100%.....
Not if you want good convergence (double imaging). My eyes can easily tolerate 100% but there are only but a few games where it actually looks good without distraction, I find that if you sit right in front of your screen (~3 ft away) then 40-70% percent is usually the sweet spot (40% usually being too low but depending on the game, usually FPS, is better).

I played this game for quite a while last night using the new 196.75 drivers and this game is damn near flawless.

Earlier in the thread people were mentioning issues with cloud/sky rendering at wrong depth. Using these new drivers, I haven't seen any issues with this. The clouds and sky are flawless, though the start-up notes for BFBC2 still say Rating: Good, Clouds/Sky render at wrong depth. Maybe they just forgot to update the description.

Also haven't seen any issues with gun sights looking wrong either, which was also mentioned earlier.

The ONLY issue I've seen is that the minimaps that show the position of units (the one that appears in the bottom left, and the one where you select where to spawn) render the unit indicators at depth, but the minimap image is just a 2d static semi-transparent image that is rendered at screen depth. You can still see the indicators, but it messes with your eyes when they're behind the semi-transparent screen-depth map image.

That's the only issue I've seen so far, everything else is perfect. Hopefully they'll fix the minimap issue, as it definitely hurts your eyes to use the minimap. That should be an easy one to fix, as simply drawing the minimap icons at screen depth would solve it. In the meantime, if you're playing on hardcore servers this is a non-issue, since you don't get a minimap on hardcore mode. Kinda like how playing L4D2 on realism mode fixes the most glaring issue, as no nametags in realism = no distracting name tags drawn at screen depth.

This game will definitely become one of the MUST play games for 3D vision.

I also tested the game with 196.75 and there is some very good news for quad sli users!
I plugged in my second gtx295 installed the drivers and gave it a go,
i put the setting all high, v-sync on, 8x aa, and i get an unbelievable steady 60fps,

lucky you. I am forced to run the game in dx9 mode to get playable frame rates into the 40s.

Tried it out earlier and it worked perfect. Didn't have to rename anything. They game itself is fun and while I haven't done fraps on it yet it seemed to be pretty smooth on 2 8800gt sli.

Worked great for me right out of the box but then again, so did the Just Cause 2 demo the first time I tried it.

Game unplayable with 3d vison enabled from cotrol panel, I just get polygons flying all over the page. Running latest drivers on win7 64bit platform with graphics card 295,

a very small movie attached (unable to compress) but you can make out the polygon madness

any ideas ?

Oh ive tried all possible graphics setting, both the presets and avanced custom settings.

note: if 3d vision is enabled in control panel, running the game in 3d mode or CTRL T turning off vision polygons remain, if 3d vision is diabled game run fine

u guys who say the games running perfectly for you: are you guys not having any problems using the weapon sights (rightclicking to aim), or do you just not use them or what? everything is acceptable except when you're lookin down the gun sights, then there's double/triple vision.

@jarvismac, I had some artifacts like that when i first started playing the game. I think it was before i renamed the .exe to something else and lowered the graphics settings (turned AA to 1 and disabled/lowered the other things that were recommended). If you've already renamed the exe and such, the only other thing i could suggest is llowering your clocks if you're overclocking.

Don't wish to sond rude but you do know how to use convergence?? try my previous post settings. I promise you this game is almost flawless, the aiming down sights works just fine.

Edit: sorry read your previous post you did follow what i said! i dont know what else to suggest but why did you rename the .exe? you dont need to

The sights work fine for me. I didn't mess with the convergence at all and my depth is in the upper range.

I don't get how you guys are playing this game in 3D. When i try to run it in 3D by pressing the Nvidia button on the emittter literally nothing happens. When i looked up the 3D vision support for this game on the internet i had found a webpage saying they were adding 3D support later on, similar to Bioshock 2.

Try this ;)
You must disable HBAO (Horizon-based Ambient Occlusion) to get better results in stereo 3D mode and the other thing is to set the AA option to 1x (disable), otherwise you might not see depth in the game! You have to also disable bloom (set bloom=false), but that is done in the settings.ini file, DirectX version in use is also being controlled from the ini file with auto set by default to choose the highest supported (DX10 for 3D Vision). The settings.ini file can be found in the documents folder in a subfolder named BFBC2 and you can edit it with a plain text editor such as Notepad.
I renamed the exe because that was one of the steps i read in a post on the first page. I set my convergence so that my weapon model (when not scoped in) comes together into 1 picture w/o glasses on. Everything looks fine until i, say, pull up a rifle with optic/reflex sights, then i see two sights overlapping each other with the glasses ON, not off. I can adjust the convergence while in this view and get it to where the circles come together, but as i am at different things and down at the ground and such, the scopes spread out. My depth is usually kept around 70%, but i've tried tinkering with it too to no avail.
