Gears of war 3 3D on Asus VG278H? Not sure if this is the right place to ask...
Hello! I recently purchased a VG278H and I've been enjoying playing my games in 3D. The problem is that I can't for the life of me figure out how to get Gears of War 3 to work. As far as I can tell, it uses side-by-side images to render the 3D, but I end up just seeing the two images on either side of the screen, no 3D at all.

The same thing happens why I try to use the 360 version of Crysis 2's 3D.

If I'm not mistaken, they use interlaced 3D correct? Is there any way to get that to work on my monitor?

Thanks!

I'm trying to figure that out too.

I got it working with my PS3, DirectTV box as well as my PC. But Gears of War 3 and Call of Duty Black Ops give me the same results, an image that appears to be side-by-side 3d.
I read the user manual of the monitor and it states it can support side-by-side 3d images but I cannot get it to recognize the Xbox 360.

Can anyone figure this out?

Looks like Bloody ran into the same problem with that monitor, if you scroll down and read the comments:

You probably need to contact Asus support or see if they have some forum there. May need a firmware update since it doesn't seem like there's any way to select or force input mode in the OSD.

Do you know if that's the same for every Xbox 360 game or for certain ones
ex Gears of War 3 and Halo CE Anniversary

It sounds like it is every 360 game that does SBS output by default is effected by this based on some of the comments I'm reading. The alternative would be to see if there is a configuration in the game itself to change the output mode from SBS to frame packing, or if there is an option in the XBox 360's dashboard settings? Sorry I don't have a 360 so I can't verify this myself.

As an aside, I guess this could be part of the reason Nvidia chooses not to support other output formats besides HDMI framepacking.

Gears of War 3 and Crysis 2 both do it, but Halo Anniversary works like a charm.
