Samsung vs Viewsonic
Hello everyone, I will be buying a LCD bundle next week and I would like some of your opinions before I make the purchase. Yes I've searched the forums and Google on this matter, what are the changes from the VX2265wm and the VX2268wm? It seems that from what I've researched that the Viewsonic's are better then the Samsung unless you guys have seen them in person, that's something I would like to know... I live in USA so the VX2268wm would cost me alot more but what am I missing out on if i get the 2265? I do alot of design work aswell I would prefer whatever is more accurate color wise.

Thanks if you can give input on guys, I seriously cannot wait for this setup.

The VX2268wm adds OSD controls that the VX2265WM does not have buttons on the front of the monitor for. I have a VX2265WM and it's not a big deal since I tweak all my color and brightness settings in my Nvidia control panel. I have seen this and a Samsung in action and to me the Viewsonic doesn't have as severe ghosting problems as the Samsung but maybe that is all in my head.

Well I haven't seen any of them, but...

The VX2268VM is waiting for me at home, so I'll test it tonight. I haven't tested the Samsung so I can't comment on that.

But I've tested every other 3D solution, including most of the passive screens (also the 46" versions) + active solutions (XpanD/Edimensional/etc) so I can say a bit about the ghosting issue ;)

i have the samsung 2233 and have experienced no ghosting and love cod mw2 in 3d, infact id go so far as to say looks better on the sammy than on my acer h5360.
i have not seen the viewsonic in action so couldnt make a fair comparison, but for me the sammy is sweet!

viewsonic have a ghost effect at top and bottom of the screen the same way with samsung
if you have a point to enjoy 3d stereoscopic mainly i advice you wait for acer monitor
otherwise you have all chances to join this thread http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=89261
make you choice man =)
another side of viewsonic 68 is bad vertical angle of viewing. so if forget about ghosting in 3d and bad angle this monitor is good for me

Well I ordered the Viewsonic vx2265wm bundle from compusa today, I wouldn't be able to afford the Acer or the Alienware + Nvision kit anyway I'm sure there highly priced.. To me this is worth is just for the true 120hz alone and if the ghosting really bothers me then boo hoo =) thanks for the input people.

Good idea. I paid $120 for a 3D Vision kit(EBay-Used) and $229 for this monitor(Buy,com/BCB). I wanted to try out 3D gaming at the lowest possible cost and I'm glad I did. I really do enjoy some 3D games especially Batman. The value equation for me, wouldn't make sense if I paid $200 for glasses and $500 for an Acer display which might be better. $350 versus $700!

If you don't like it you could always return your kit and keep the monitor or sell it on ebay. However if you play Batman, I think you'll be happy.
