Aha! So basically the Final Cut Edition will be the FINAL one ?
1x Palit RTX 2080Ti Pro Gaming OC(watercooled and overclocked to hell)
3x 3D Vision Ready Asus VG278HE monitors (5760x1080).
Intel i9 9900K (overclocked to 5.3 and watercooled ofc).
Asus Maximus XI Hero Mobo.
16 GB Team Group T-Force Dark Pro DDR4 @ 3600.
Lots of Disks:
- Raid 0 - 256GB Sandisk Extreme SSD.
- Raid 0 - WD Black - 2TB.
- SanDisk SSD PLUS 480 GB.
- Intel 760p 256GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD.
Creative Sound Blaster Z.
Windows 10 x64 Pro.
etc
No idea how much will change, I just wanted to point out that it still might according to the patch notes.
It does seem that the "Final Cut" will be released as a separate game, so it's probable a good idea to save the game in it's current state if it hasn't patched yet.
I really wish Steam would go back to allowing users to opt out of updates.

Made a bit of testing:
- You can force the game to start in Dx9 "-force-d3d9" as command line argument for the exe
- Current DX9 is broken, nothing works (probably shaders changed again)
- DirectX11 starts in Fake Fullscreen. (not exclusive Fullscreen).
Guess is another game i'll buy on GoG where I can select between what version I can use. This like, Layers of Fears got broken with their late patches...

I was kind of waiting for The Final Cut before updating this again so I didn't end up wasting time after their last update knowing another was coming soon. Let's hope that final means final and this will be the last time I re-fix this game from scratch ;-)

Thanks DSS, I've been waiting for The Final Cut before playing this!
If I can offer a suggestion though, maybe give it a few weeks before you start, and keep an eye on Red Thread's twitter? This involved an engine upgrade, so it's possible they'll release another patch or two to fix any last bugs before they're 100% finished. Personally I'm still holding out hope that they'll add 5.1 sound.

Why can't devs just settle with the first achievement, and use their time on developing other titles instead...
These updates doesn't really add anything valuable to the game anyway !
But none the less, I'm particulary glad that you''l update this one DSS, for some reason I got sidetracked in my first playthrough, and when I returned the game was updated - so THANK YOU :)

Because games often have bugs that need fixing? They also needed to update the engine to get it working well on PS4, so at that point they might as well port the improvements to PC.

So just FYI - there's at least two things I want to add to 3DMigoto before I release this... unless you like having to wait several minutes for the game to launch :-p

We can wait for the 3DMigoto update, or can we ???
Your fixes are allways absolutely flawless, so this is very exiting !!
What about your Unity templates, has they been updated as well ?

Are you talking about the long first launch where lots of shaders are compiling (which doesn't happen the following times if cache_shaders is enabled)? I mean in games in general that have lots of shaders.
Anyway, can't wait for more stuff to come to 3Dmigoto :).

Nope, I'm talking about how slow 3DMigoto is at reading the d3dx.ini file, which in most games is not a problem and you won't notice it, but my Unity scripts generate very long files and this game has the record for the most shaders in a Unity game (about 71,000 shaders and 7000 ShaderOverrides in a 1MB d3dx.ini), which takes 3DMigoto almost two minutes to read - I should be able to reduce that to less than one second (the API we are using at the moment is terribly inefficient).
I also want to finish my stereo mouse cursor that I started ages back, because this game could really benefit from that.
We can wait for the 3DMigoto update, or can we ???
Well, if you want a preview there's always my github - but at the moment that is only the result of running my scripts and doesn't have any of the HUD adjustments or any manual fixes (like fire, god rays, etc) that I will need.
What about your Unity templates, has they been updated as well ?
Not yet - they stuck with Unity 5.4 for this update which the scripts could already cope with. I've started looking at updating the scripts for 5.5 / 5.6 as well, but that will be more involved because they completely changed the format again.

What.. 71.000 shaders in a Unity game, well then scripts do come in handy...
Stereo mouse cursor sounds like a great addition, thats worth waiting for :)
