Nvidia 3D Vision 2, No USB-Controller
Hey Guys, first of all, sorry for my bad english, I'm german. Yesterday, I got a 3D vision 2 from my dad an I was very exited, but there was no USB-Controler/IR Emitter. So now, I'm sitting here with my new 3d vision and no usb-controller. He said, he bought the "only glasses" Version, because it was cheaper, by not knowing, that it actually has no usb-controller in it... Can I only buy this usb-controller, without buying a new kid? Is it possible to only get the usb-controller?

They are always sold together with glasses. Why would you normally buy an USB emitter without glasses? The market for a usb emitter only package would be very small. The first thing I did after buying the kit was to buy an extra pair. You are kind of doing the reverse and it is definitelly more social to have multiple glasses. Worst case try to sell the extra glasses.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?

So, I think I'll buy a kit. Then, I have 2 Glasses and both work. I told this my dad and he said, it's ok to buy 2 glasses for film or sth. Thanks for your answer!

Which 3D Display do you have? Nvidia glasses only work with Nvidia supported Displays. Although they will work with DLP Projectors and a few unsupported monitors via workarounds.

You'll be fine then, it's a 3D Vision supported display. Just wanted to make sure you didn't have a 3D HDTV or something they would not work with.

Actually when I was shopping around for 3d kits myself, I was using ebay...I ended up getting a great deal on mine because it was still new in the box (56 USD). They said it was a new box unopened but didn't mention it included the emitter...so I guess nobody but me bid on it. Either way, I have seen some people who bought kits cheaper than an extra set of glasses, so they bought the kits when they were on sale and decided to sell off nvidia emitters. The 3d vision 2 glasses are compatible with a 3d vision 1 emitter, so compatibility is not an issue. If you only want one pair of glasses, the USB emitters I saw on ebay were going for around 40 USD (this is when I was shopping two weeks ago.) If you do want two pairs of glasses, then shop around for an entire kit, although generally I do recommend buying new from an authorized nvidia seller in case of defects or hardware failure.
