At the moment I currently own a Passive 3D setup IZ3D.com I bought it without researching and i've had for about a week, I am still able to return it and probably will.
It seems though from reading these forums that the Active Nvidia 3D Vision Solution has a better method for producing 3D and with little to 0 Ghosting... In theory. From what i've been reading, yes people have been getting problems with ghosting, flickering and massive Performance hits (WoW) but it seems to me that all these issues have to do with either the users hardware or the Drivers/software and has nothing to do with how the 3D is produced.
For me however I chose a Passive setup to avoid that mess on perpose, but I think im realizing that the Ghosting and the eeh monitor clarity when not in 3D may not be worth the passive setup.
Everytime i play wow im constintly messing with the settings to reduce the ghosting but the only thing i can do is "Focus" the ghosting to my charater. What i mean is that my charater is clear and 3D and nice, but the as i look into the distance the ghosting starts from my charater at 0 progressing to annoying at the draw distance. This is because from what i was told is because the passive glasses arn't filtering the image completely and thus this solution at the moment is flawed.
That long intro asside what i want to know is
1. Is ghosting at 0 or close when the games that do work are working for you? Does the ghosting appear when you Zoom in or Zoom out (assuming you can)
2. How much control do you have over the 3D settings? Can you adjust the Convergance in game?
3. The bundled kits monitor does it look really nice? If it wasn't a 3D monitor would you buy it? Hows it look non 3d?
4. Can i pick the bundle up in stores? lol
The worst experice I had with my current monitor is Supreme Commander. I Zoom in and out like crazy and so the ghosting was so bad it was un playable
System specs are...
EVGA 8800GTX (Which I heard (on this forum) Works perfect)
EVGA 680I MoBo
2 GB ram
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
As far as systems specs go i believe i should have perfect 3d out of the box (aside for the software issues plaguing some games)
If anyone can comment, Answer any questing, Tell me of your experience. I'm probably gana order this after i get some responces and return the one i currently own.
Also the games I play and/or want to play with 3d and would like to know how well they work with this system
WoW ( I heard has some really werid issues with some and others are perfectly fine I really don't NEED 3D for this game)
Supreme Commander ( not sure how RTSs and 3D is with 0 ghosting but hey worth a shot)
Crysis (It's soooo pretty)
Halo 2 ( ehh Why not?)
UT ... Newest one ( Fun games)
Left 4 Dead ( Others have had ghosting issues with this too, Unfortunatly i never got to see if they ended up finding a solution or anything)
Thanks for reading this any help would be awesome. :D

1. Ghosting is "near-zero". I see some ghosting in WoW, but it doesn't detract from the gameplay. In general, this 3D experience is very cool, and it should get better over time as WoW gets patched, etc. Even now, with the quirks, I will only play in 3D mode.
2. You have limited control over the 3D, but it seems to be enough. The 3D technology works pretty well so you don't need too many control knobs.
3. Yes and no. The monitor looks very colorful and sharp -- in 2D MODE ONLY. Right now, I am having horrible problems with a grainy texture / horizontal line issue in 3D mode. Others have had this same problem. I bought the Samsung SyncMaster 2233RZ monitor bundle from TigerDirect.com. I like it well enough and won't return it -- but I honestly can't recommend it until they fix that grainy problem.
I mean: what if this is a problem with the monitor itself and a better monitor comes out in two months that fixes this problem? I'll be kind of screwed and you can buy the better monitor. I might even be tempted to upgrade at that point.
On the other hand: if this is just a driver issue causing the horizontal lines, then it will be patched out eventually. And I can be patient and just put up with it in the meantime.
A $400 monitor seems like quite a gamble if it has problems with 3D mode... considering that you are buying it primarily for the 3D! My recommendation is to wait and see if this problem is with the Samsung monitor (I think another company is making a compatible monitor that will be available soon?) I hate to be a naysayer, and if you are hell-bent on playing in 3D this technology works pretty good. But this grainy texture issue seems ridiculous considering the cost of the monitor.
To answer your second question: the monitor looks beautiful in 2D mode. This is one reason I will not be returning it. I console myself knowing that at the very least I have a very beautiful 2D display (so I'm not sacrificing anything by using this monitor.) And I can put up with a slightly annoying 3D display because the 3D technology itself is so freaking cool.
4. Not that I was able to find. I ordered from TigerDirect.com. Shipping is lightning fast and I love tigerdirect, you can safely order from them if interested. They also have a 30-day guarantee, so you have nothing to lose by giving it a shot.
In general, I'm 80% pleased with my purchase. I am happy enough that I won't be sending it back and I'll just put up with this grainy texture (horizontal line) issue. I hope hope hope they can patch it out with a driver update. I would be 100% pleased in a hearbeat and call you a fool for not ordering today if this grainy texture problem wasn't here. It just seems so weird that a bundled hardware product would look like this.
I just posted a more detailed post on this problem in another thread. You can check that out too.

oh wow lol thats the first i heard about the grainy lines while in 3d lol.
The monitor i have atm is really nice in 3D but the ghosting just gets rediculous.
I actually believe i can go back to the store where i bought this monitor and get the bundled kit lol, I'll probably do that tomorrow. The way i figure it i'll never know until i try it.
Only real crappy part is i have to use Vista again, UGH!
Question
1. In WoW when you zoom in and out of your charater do you need to adjust the 3D settings or else you'll see ghosting?
2. In WoW do the Name plates come up as blurry from a far distance because of Ghosting?
3. Do you get a massive performance hit when you enable 3d in wow? I was just reading this post and if your not getting that i think you should tell them what you did or are doing to be able to play WoW so well lol. 1. Zooming in/out seems to work just fine. No ghosting around your character (not much anyway). I only see ghosting in the sky or against white backgrounds. My staff glows, so that ghosts just a bit, but in general I think the ghosting problem isn't a big deal with this technology. It works very well.
2. Name plates aren't blurry because of ghosting, but can be hard to read if they are too far away. Just because they are small.
3. I get about a 50% performance hit. I don't use a lot of addons, and I don't customize my interface much. (I tend to use the built-in action bars, etc.) I think most people are complaining about addons causing a performance hit -- and if you raid and use a lot of GUI overlays you might have that problem too. So I don't think I'm doing anything special, I just have sufficient hardware (not top of the line, just pretty good) and I consider 20-30 fps to be acceptable gameplay considering I have everything turned to the highest settings, 8x Anti-Aliasing, and 3D! If I only get 20 fps at times, then oh well. I'm more concerned about gameplay than getting the highest fps just for show, and the truth is that 20+ fps is playable. I get 30 at times. I could turn down the graphics settings or play with my GUI to try to squeeze out more, but I don't care, it works.

Alright nice, I don't really use much add-ons either, the biggest one is just quest helper i guess...
either way yea i assume the people complaining are the people using like 14251235123 addons or the addons that completely change things, and/or have sub par hardware.
The way the 3d is now for me like said was that i can sorta Focus the ghosting on a fixed point like either my Charater or say a building far away. When i do this however the ghosting will worsen.
For example if i was in ice crown, on my mount just hovering, lets say at the middle of the zone. If i were to "Focus" the ghosting on my charater My charater would look perfect 3D 0 ghosting but the further away from my charater i look i will see ghosting and the worse it will get the mountains or citadels far in the distance will have a fair amount of ghosting.
But whatever I pretty sure Micro Center sells the bundle and if they do i'll have it tomorrow.

Thanks, and good luck to you! I'd love to hear back from you when you try it with your hardware and whether you notice that grainy problem I mentioned.
I think you can't go wrong giving it a shot. I can't wait to get back into WoW and play in 3D some more. Just wanted to come back and post on my troubleshooting.

I actually believe i can go back to the store where i bought this monitor and get the bundled kit lol, I'll probably do that tomorrow. The way i figure it i'll never know until i try it.

2. Name plates aren't blurry because of ghosting, but can be hard to read if they are too far away. Just because they are small.

either way yea i assume the people complaining are the people using like 14251235123 addons or the addons that completely change things, and/or have sub par hardware.
Thanks for the help : )
and GL with your problem as well.

I think you can't go wrong giving it a shot. I can't wait to get back into WoW and play in 3D some more. Just wanted to come back and post on my troubleshooting.
