Tridef is definitely looking good for the Bioshock S3D experience. Thanks for posting the 3D YouTube videos.
Here is another interesting tidbit. A developer, Ralf, is making a new stereoscopic driver for the Rift.
That is interesting here, because his initial game list states that it will support Bioshock Infinite, with head-tracking, in the Oculus Rift.
That all sounds like the way it's meant to be played to me. :->

^Yea, I been following him for a while and I will probably play when I get my rift god knows when. Though there will be plenty of guinea pigs(the tables have turned!) to make experience better for me = ). Keep in mind that his renderer is depth buffer. Which is not like nvidia's 3d but head tracking/wide FOV will be cool. I still think games that are actually supported/helix does will be better. Depth buffer kind of feels like a simulated 3D but I generally regard it much better then plain old 2D. Its like in between crysis 2/3-> and real S3D imo.
@dhr
I hope you dont play on that setting lol. Convergence seperation is almost equal to depth lol. Though tbh, it doesnt look bad especially since you were highlighting issue. It looks like static shadows go bad when they are in the lighting that has issues. Performance also seems pretty good considering.

Well, I went for it. It was time and this has been the catalyst. I bought a new-to-me monitor on ebay for $329 with shipping, refurbished from Acer. It's the Acer HN274H 27" LED. It works with both 3D Vision and DDD apparently. Along with some AMD stuff I don't need. My aging Viewsonic VX2265wm 22" never did have Windows 7 support (Vista drivers for the brightness/contrast, etc) and I had to hack some workarounds to get it to play 3D Bluray (which it handles just fine, but it requires a software hack). It will be nice to have options. So Tridef BSI here I go, with luck...

I read in one of his blogs that he maybe will add some sort of auto-convergence? I am a 3D noob, but that sounds interesting, does it not?
And even if it's "fake 3D" at least it will have less of a performance hit, which is a really good thing for VR.
ps: if the Rift is going to be a hit it's bye bye NVIDIA, hello AMD for me.

Yes i playing with those settings :) Looks great! the depth sense its awesome, first game with Tridef that i achieve good results....the gun its like in your face, but when you get used to it its not that bad. I record to 50fps (not 60fps) to maintain file size a little lower....but yea the game runs 55-60fps all the way.
Yesterday i disable DOF and OMG the visual its impressive....also add a Sweetfx profile and now the game looks really awesome (yep, Sweetfx works with Tridef), textures and details looks very sharp and color are more vivid... really if those lights issues where solved the game will be almost perfect.....i miss the low convergence preset for aiming :(

Isn't that the same approach Tridef takes? Using the depth buffer?
In this case, even if the depth buffer is not as good, at least it works. It seems unlikely that we are ever going to get a 3D Vision version of Infinite.

It's been a while since I used Tridef but here is my problem...
I installed tridef oki doki, I have 3D vision enabled, I configure Tridef as Direct 3D 120hz mode
Tested 2 games in some of them (dx9) it kicks in while in DX10- DX11 games it doesnt kick in all I get is an error regarding connecting to 3D driver..
I am using a 120HZ monitor so no projector..
Any idea on what I am doing wrong? thx:D

Tridef does support depth buffer. Bioshock infinite is using normal S3D though on tridef.
