Alright. When 3d vision installs onto you computer it has no way to know how big your projector is. It guesses(probably 80). So if you have a bigger screen you are probably fine. BUT if you have a smaller screen you get less depth. You are pretty much fine as is unless you still want more depth just paste what I said earlier. Set value to "100" which will make your former 50% what your current 100% is. You want more then 100% go past 50% till you are happy. Any thing else contact me via pm and Ill be happy to help.

Thx! I saw that email of yours with the .bat file, but I guess I am ok at 100% with 100", reason I got confused is I had to set my PS3 to screensize 10" in order to get decent 3D for uncharted (weird eh). PC games seem fine to me, though I guess I can always give your parameters a go and see if it improves further.
I fixed the convergence btw, mapped it to the + key and you have to hold it for a bit of time in order to see the result. Alan Wake looks fantastic now, thanks to 0 convergence on the main character!

How are you guys finding AW? Is it worth getting or is it still too broken?
I got DE:HR based on what the good folk here said it was like and it was exactly as described. Which is gutting as you notice the suprising amount of anomolies when you 'fix' the depth, which you have to do.
However I remember the pre Helix era fix for ME2 which removed the flares combined with the rather severe floatingpoint wassnane command. I found ME2 enjoyable dispite the occasional remainig split textures because there anomolies weren't in your face all the time.

Absolutely worth it. Some minor anamolies remain, and cutscenes are in 2D (these are video and not rendered) but the thrill of experiencing this game in 3D (with a good surround set) is fenominal. My depth is set to 100% and after some tweaking found converging on the main character to provide the best result (I believe it's called the doll effect or something). Yesterday one of the ghosts in the game jumped out of a door and it scared the crap out of me. Though other games have better depth/implementation (Batman, Dungeon Siege III etc.) the nightmarish theme of the whole game makes it one of the bes games to experience in 3D even though the implementation isn't (yet) flawless.

You can play like this? the answer is yes, but with lights and shodows render bugs (much less than before).
There still some shadows and light/halo that render at screen depth, and some light that broke textures in some parts. Personally (may vary depending on taste) with the shadow and light problem that render at screen depth is an important reason for not playing in 3D.....for me is very annoying to my eyes. I test the game with 100% depth and increasing the convergence (not too much) and play the first 10 minutes of each episode (i finnish the game in 2D)
The game in 2D is also amazing....worth getting. The only bad thing if we want to play AW:AN and AW2 in PC, we have to wait a lot. After the patch 1.04 and noticed the 3D still broken, i play the 2 DLC in 2D, also amazing.

I don't know what the chances are of getting any more 3D fixes on Alan Wake, but it really needs some. I've started a new thread over in the support forums at Remedy:

Sorry to bring this up but the game is on sale so I was wondering if with the 3d fixes that were done, if the game is at least decent enough to play now.
Thanks

When i played it a couple months ago through Steam i experienced a few problems in the beginning that convinced me to try 2d, which i used for awhile, but then went back into 3D. Luckily i did, because there were very few problems after that and the 3D really helped make the huge landscapes feel like their actual size and it complemented the combat effects as well. I almost stopped playing in 2D due to boredom, but it got better about halfway through and the 3D definitely helped. javascript:void();

I agree, plays quite well in 3D. Thankfully you can adjust depth and convergence to your preference. Looks pretty sweet and graphically, this game is quite impressive. The landscapes to feel huge and gives you a great sense of scale for wilderness travel...

The most annoying glitch is that where the flashlight is aimed depends on whether or not you see the ring of light that's "projected" onto the surface in both eyes, although the beam of light is fine. I'm not exactly sure but I think it was fine if aimed at the ground but at a wall it was only seen in one eye, or vice versa. Other than that game looked extremely good in 3D, I would suggest using a gamepad ... oh that and dodging! :D

Its a real crying shame they never did finish 3d support for this title. I was one that bought it under the '3d ready' banner they had for preorder but never played after finding out later on. Its actually a very good game that i've only now just started playing. If the shadows were in order i could tolerate everything else :( the game is just beginning to played stereoscopically!
Hopefully the nextgen consoles will have some kind of certification spec down that demands good 3d support throughout and we'll have a sequel that looks the part..
