3D VISION doesn't work
  1 / 2
Well, I'm foreign, my first time here: the problem is that I've spent lots of money with the monitor Samsung 2233RZ and the 3D Nvidia glasses. My VGA, 8800 GTS 320MB was almost retired, I almost bought a new one to another brand, so the 3D Vision gave it a new life. The problem is that I've installed the drivers step by step, I took the medical test, it was 0k, but the hardware test didn't work. At the moment I turn the glasses on the display starts to flick; next step my left eye sees triangles and hexagons mixed, just like the right eye. I've already tried everything: I've changed the refresh ( 100, 110, 120), I've changed the depth (15%, 20%...100%)...It doesn't work. When I put the depth under 15%, the display stops to flick, I can see triangles not mixed with hexagons, but I failure in the medical test. Do I need a doctor? No, it happened pretty much the same stuff with some guys I've invited to make a test with them. What am I supposed to do?

Did you try the DVI cable that comes with the glasses? If that doesn't work, try a different set of drivers.

No, I think the DVI-D/HDMI cable that comes with the glasses is not for 3D aplications. I use the DVI-D / Dual link cable that comes with my monitor Samsung 2233RZ that's made 4 3D. I've already tried the drivers that came with the glasses, and the last one: 196.20 (?)...both didn't work. I'm gonna use 195.20 (?). I hope it works. Thanks.

Sincerously, I'm not sure... but at my specific case I think I'm doing the right stuff: my monitor shall be conected to the VGA by a dual link cable and that's what I'm doing.
Does anybody here know what to do about my problem? I have already tried many drivers and I still don't have 3D. I'm getting really tired. Get a look...181.25 (what a joke) / 185.85 / 190.62 / 196.21 / 195 (?)...my God I bought this glasses to have fun, not to be here asking someone an aspirine for my headache. I have already contacted NVIDIA, I've registered my product, part number, serial number, VGA model and serial, blá, bla, bla, nothing. They didn't return me even a simple "I'm sorry"...what kind of people is this? It's not honest selling a prototype as a final product. I'm gonna try the driver 191.03, if it doesn't work this people will have to refund my money: glasses and monitor. I'm not a clown. I've spend all this week just thinking about this damned 3D glass and those *#>'= drivers.
PS: could it be my VGA? It's a 8800 GTS 320MB. Does it work?
My hardware: M4A785TDV-EV0 / Phenom II X4 945 / Seagate Barracuda 1TB / 8800 GTS 320 MB / 4GB DDR3 1333MHZ /

i think your right about using the cable that came with the screen not the glasses. at least its a easy check /banana.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I also have a Samsung 2233RZ, with a GTX 260, It worked perfectly for me using the cable from the monitor and just plugging it into one of the ports on my GTX 260, so i'm not sure why you're having problems.. only other thing I can think of is that you may need a graphics card upgrade /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />

Have you intalled drivers for both the Graphics card and the glasses? I had the same problem until i realised i did not have matching driver set for card and glasses. When i reinstalled everything worked great...

Máximo,

I saw that you're from Brazil. (saw your post at Clube do Hardware)

There is a forum in Brazil that has 2 big topics about 3D Vision, with more than 2000 posts and with many 3D Vision owners that can try to help you. Take a look:

There was another guy with similar issues here with an Acer GD245HQ (which is what I've got). I found that if you aren't running at native resolution for that monitor (1920 x 1080, but I think the samsung is 1650 x something...), regardless of your refresh rate you'll get the results you're describing. I would make sure you're running at maximum resolution for your monitor.

The Samsung 2233RZ maximum resolution is 1680x1050: yes, I'm taking it. About the refresh rate, I've tried, 100, 110 and 120HZ, they didn't work.

I also have a 8800 GTS 320MB and some strange problems with my Acer 5360. I have massive ghosting from time to time. But it can't be caused by the glasses nor by my projector cause the clips "Nürburgring 24 Hour Race" and "Oldtimers" ALWAYS work perfectly! Maybe it has really something to do with our 8800 GTS 320MB /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Unfortunately I don't have another nvidia VGA to test it...

Yes, all the movies from NVIDIA site runs perfectly with mine too. The one and only answer is our graphic card...

It was not the graphic card, the guilt is called Windows Vista. I've isntalled W7 and I don't have this kind of problem anymore.
