There are too many glitches in 3D and it runs pretty slow to boot. It is a fun FPS and looks great without 3D so don't let that stop you from playing it at all.

Yeah but I have a freakin hard time getting into flatland FPS gaming after using 3d vision non stop. Oh well. for the price I guess it is too good to pass on.

I am in the same boat as you but it is still one of the best looking games out and a fun shooter to boot.

Yes I think it is that bad.. there's a lot of things which don't render at the correct depth, it makes for an overall poor experience if you ask me. But as stated, its still a fine FPS game in 2D... well worth it if you have not experienced it yet.

Yeeeeah... not buying a game as awesome as Crysis over 3d? Thats just odd. Buying anything from Steam is horribad becausee of their stoopid copyright protection bullspit. I hate Steam, badly. the game itself, retail, doesnt have that junk though, thats Steam's fault.

Heheh I take it you haven't got the S3D curse yet? Then you wouldn't understand my predicament. I just couldn't play those 2.5D games since 1995. What's the point when there's no immersion like S3D can give? It's more than an addiction, it's a damn evil spell. The DRM in this case was just the last straw.

If you already saw Avatar (the movie), multiply the S3D effects several times up then you have an idea of what kind of damage S3D gaming can do to a man. /teehee.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':teehee:' />

I admit I will pick an average game that works great in S3D over a better overall game that doesn't. Despite this, the two Crysis games are showcases for what a PC can do and if it's cheap I see no reason not to play them in 2D.

You can turn off the effects that cause the 3D problems and I find S3D more impressive than those effects.

When I tried the demo with 3D, i had to disable so many graphics options that the game ended up looking more like Far Cry than Crysis.
In a conference about stereo 3D at siggraph 2009, a Crytek developper explained that they do not want to use the nvidia driver as it removes a lot of freedom in how to program the game engine.
Instead they developped their own stereo3D engine inside the game (like AVATAR), they made a demo during the conference playing some Crysis 2 footage in real time on a giant cinema screen (there is a video about that conference somewhere at mtbs3d.com)
But Crytek did not announce anything if they would add a patch to Crysis to add the feature or if it would be for Crysis 2 only.

Dito. A lot of games are playable by just turning some eyecandy off. But since it's in 3d instead of 2d of course makes the immersion greater!
