Annoying 3d vision "not detected" message How do I get rid of this?
  1 / 2
I have 3d vision set-up to work with my DLP TV. The setup is GPU HDMI -> TV -> Mitsubishi 3d converter box

The Nvidia emitter is plugged into the PC at the same time. Since the 3D sync plug in the back of the TV is already in use by the 3d converter box there is no way to plug nvidia's 3d sync it into the TV. The problem is that stupid red message saying the VESA cable is unplugged or that 3d mode isn't on won't go away unless it is plugged in, even though the 3d works fine (note I'm using the mitsubishi glasses as of the moment and haven't tried the nvidia glasses which are still charging). Ideally I want a set-up where my 2 Mitsubishi 3d glasses and the nvidia glasses could all be used at the same time but at the very least I don't want to dick with the Vesa cable every time I want to change between the computer and the PS3.

In other words, I want dlp output without it bugging me about the tv being in 3d mode or not.

Have you verified you can even get the NVidia glasses to sync without the VESA cable?
The Mitsubishi glasses will be syncing to the display not the pyramid.

The nvidia glasses won't even attempt to sync the glasses unless the VESA cable is plugged in.

The thing is, the iZ3d DLP drivers work without any special equipment. Is there a splitter for the VESA cable or a way to get the nvidia glasses to sync with the mitsubishi adapter? To be honest part of the justification for forking out almost $200 for the 3d-vision kit was that I thought I was getting another pair of glasses to use with my HDTV so that up to 3 people could simultaneously watch.

Something like this should work, but you would still need a 2nd VESA cable: http://www.nextag.com/Datel-Xbox-360-Heads...te-reviews-html

You just need a 2.5mm stereo to TWO 2.5mm stereo splitter/adapter, unfortunately it seems like these are really rare/uncommon. That 360 headset adapter should work though. But its also virtually impossible to find those VESA stereo cables for sale, you may have to contact Nvidia Customer Care to get one as I believe they did offer them to people in the EU who did not get one included in the kit.

That wouldn't work, the VESA cable outputs the signal into the pyramid, not the other way around.

Ok somehow I managed to get this to happen, although I'm not sure how. Right now the nvidia drivers seem to be in some state where it freezes for like 10 - 20 seconds when I enable 3d, but there is no message complaining about the lack of a 3d signal. However, I can't use the nvidia glasses at all, I have to use my TV's glasses since the nvidia emitter won't go bright green (it is only dim green). It's also very buggy in that it doesn't seem to respond after alt-tabbing out of the game. Also, the graphics drivers have also stopped responding on one occasion.
