Is there anyway to pay NVIDIA to fix problems with 3D Vision? I'm tired of waiting.
Update 1/24/2011
My original problem was that I wanted to permanently remove the green text notification when enabling/disabling the nvidia 3d crosshair. I finally figured it out, but only half way. I used a hex editor and just removed the text manually from the following dll's:
(make sure you back these up before you hex edit them)
I've managed to completely eliminate the green text with no problems whatsoever. However the black background rectangle still comes up. I'm currently trying to get rid of that as well. Hopefully by tonight or tomorrow i'll never see this stupid notification again and I can turn on/off the crosshair without getting spammed to death.
If someone would like to help me, please do. We're half way to getting this solved.

I've tried messing with it in cod black ops but I'm able to turn it on and off and the green text only shows up once as with turning it on.....Are you saying that it stays onscreen when you have turned it off? Either that or request on nvidias support page to have an option to enable this or disable it in the next drivers.

ROFL!! Suuuuure you do. You just hate making posts day after day, sometimes multiple times in one day, expecting the whole multi-national hardware company to drop everything they are doing to fix issues that bother you. Funny thing is, you're the only one doing it. Doesn't that strike you as odd?

I don't understand why I have to look at that green spam on the bottom, I already know if the crosshair is on/off by looking at the center of the screen.

You can try to contact the 3D-Vision-Hardware support or the Customer Feedback.
But Nvidia isn't able to fix other bigger problems(User-Sync-Timing-Hotkeys against Ghosting-issues, Checkerboard-Mode for 3DTVs) so I guess they won't change a 3sec-message because one angry man is complaining.

O geez thats a ridiculous complaint lol. I thought the message was stuck on his screen. You have to edit code and crap. You made yourself seem like such a special case that I naturally assumed something was wrong. We all have that..... we all don't care. You either got to modify code,IZ3D, or DDD. I dont understand why you need crosshairs tbh. I'm a vanguard and I dont use it. Go biotic use dlc pistol.

Jenson, a simple solution which will definately help you and net me $150. Start a game in 3d vision and then enable the crosshair. You'll then see that green message for the last time. Quickly unplug the emitter cable from your pc and then all the other cables and pick up your pc, open a window and throw it as hard as you can onto the concrete below. I believe that falls into the category of "$150.00 if you can get rid of the green text. (paypal)" in your post so pm me and I'll send you my paypal account info. Thank you very much Jenson.

Hey Jenson: Have you tried texmod to get rid of the crosshair? Run the game using texmod (i'm not too sure texmod will hook onto the annoying message but you can try) and dump the texture with the "awfully annoying message". Edit the texture (make it transparent) using photoshop or similar, save it and run the game through texmod using your modded file. If texmod hooks up on the game it should be possible. No online play is possible though since texmod is detected as a cheat.
Edit: If this works, then hand the 150$ to a good charity organisation.. /heart.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I turn the in game crosshair off using showhud bind to a key. No need for texmod. I wrote a program that turns off the HUD when I go to aim, then switches on the NVIDIA 3d crosshair. Then when I'm done aiming and let go of the right mouse it turns the nvidia crosshair off and turns the hud back on. This solution would be perfect had NVIDIA known how to program a user interface properly.
Imagine walking into a room and when you turn on the light a baseball springs from a coil and nails you in the balls. What purpose would that serve? You can clearly tell if the light is on or off based upon the light in the room. No need for a baseball spring to nail you in the balls just so you're aware of the lights turning on.
This is the same logic as the notification. What purpose does it have? You can clearly tell if the nvidia crosshair is on/off by looking at the middle of the screen. If for some reason you don't see the crosshair, the only other explanation is that you set the transparency to 100%.
This is so lame.
Someone here mentioned it as being a 3 second fix. YOu're right, it should take no longer than 3 seconds for the devs to fix it. Man I really wish they would do it.

It's not ridiculous. Have you played a shooter? The most viable time to have the nvidia 3d crosshair enabled is while you're aiming. That's it. When you're not aiming or walking around in hip fire mode there is no reason to use it. My program turns it on when I'm aiming, turns it off when i'm hip firing. I explain further if need be.
Sometimes being ahead of the curve means everyone else is completely freaking retarded until 2 years later when everyone catches up in logic.
The difference is i'm trying to push nvidias limits, your guys limits so you can have a better gameplay experience. I CARE ABOUT YOU GUYS LIKE THAT! :)

I think when Jenson play his ME2 he wants the crosshair enabled when he aims but disabled at all other times. From other posts he has said he has a macro that automatically enables the crosshair when he right clicks and disables it when he lets go. In my own experience, during ME2 firefights I would switch from the aim view to normal view many times. The constant OSD resulting from the frequent crosshair switching would drive me nuts also.
I, for one, applaud the OP's customising skills and can understand his frustration; he clearly has the technical skills to automised everything else but can't turn off the unnecessary OSD.
@ Jenson
With respect I ,suggest that you look at other threads to see when the nVidia people are most prolific and try to post around those times to get their attention.

The good news is I have it half way solved, no more green text. I just have to get rid of the black, rectangular shadow. :P

I've tried messing with it in cod black ops but I'm able to turn it on and off and the green text only shows up once as with turning it on.....Are you saying that it stays onscreen when you have turned it off? Either that or request on nvidias support page to have an option to enable this or disable it in the next drivers.

Thank you very much Jenson.
lol :P

I, for one, applaud the OP's customising skills and can understand his frustration; he clearly has the technical skills to automised everything else but can't turn off the unnecessary OSD.
@ Jenson
With respect I ,suggest that you look at other threads to see when the nVidia people are most prolific and try to post around those times to get their attention.

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Finally someone who understands!
The good news is I have it half way solved, no more green text. I just have to get rid of the black, rectangular shadow. :P
