II. Step 1 - How to export current Nvidia Profiles
==================================================
(Believe it or not Nvidia inspector doesn't export properly the profiles)
1. First go to "C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\Drs" Folder.
2. We are interested in these 3 files:
[.]nvdrsdb0.bin - DataBase0 binary file[/.]
[.]nvdrsdb1.bin - DataBase0 binary file[/.]
[.]nvdrssel.bin - DataBase Selector file between 0 and 1[/.]
3. Delete the nvdrssel.bin file. (It will get automatically generated on profile import)
4. Start Geforce 3D Profile Manger and hit [Export SLI Profiles]. Save the file.
5. Open the file and search for your DX11 Game entry.
6. Once found APPEND or REPLACE in the settings section this entry:
Setting ID_0x709adada = 0x07f58257 InternalSettingFlag=V0
so it looks like this:
Profile "Dragon Age: Inquisition"
ShowOn GeForce
ProfileType Application
Executable "dragonageinquisition.exe"
Executable "da3.main_win64_final.exe"
Setting ID_0x005f5a32 = 0x00000003
Setting ID_0x00666665 = 0x00000001
Setting ID_0x00a06946 = 0x080116f5

Setting ID_0x701eb457 = 0x2241ab21 InternalSettingFlag=V0
SettingString ID_0x7049c7ec = "????" InternalSettingFlag=V0
SettingString ID_0x704d456e = "?????ê????????a??????????????????" InternalSettingFlag=V0
SettingString ID_0x7051e5f5 = "??" InternalSettingFlag=V0

Setting ID_0x709adada = 0x07f58257 InternalSettingFlag=V0
EndProfile
7. Save the file.
8. In the "C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\Drs" folder delete the nvdrssel.bin file. (if it got generated).
9. In Geforce 3D Profile Manger hit [Import SLI Profiles].
10. Start the game. 3D Compatibility Mode should now be enabled.

I believe I have now taken the correct steps, however I get the error message when importing the file after adding the setting: ERROR:
There was a problem importing the settings from disk.

Did you do this?
You can confirm that you followed Helifax's directions correctly, by immediately importing the exported profiles, before they are altered. If there's no error, then that part is ok.
To confirm that you followed his directions properly?

to clarify: I did not fully read all instructions and failed to delete the nvdrssel.bin file. I ahev now corrected that action. I was able to export - add the line - an import the .txt file with success. But now, when I press CTR + F12, the sight does not display. The screen says "LASER SIGHT = ENABLED", but nothing displays

You can now use Nvidia Inspector to confirm that the setting is added.
Note: once profiles are imported, if Nvidia inspector is running, you need to close it, then re-open it.
Or else it will not pick up the new changes.
Do you have keyboard shortcuts/advanced in-game settings enabled in the NvCP?
I do not have this game, or I would check.
A quick look, shows that this flag is missing in the Halo 2 profile, you'll need to add it also

You can look this setting up here if you want

Nvidia Inspector messes up sometimes when importing, I always use GeForce 3D Profile Manager
You have been very helpful. thank you very much. I get the laser now, but I think there is still one problem. The laser sight registers above where the projectiles are firing from. See illustration: (+) = laser, PEW = prjectile

PEW!

Also there is a "change 3D Laser Sight" option in NvCP.
Make sure that it is not set to transparent, you can also choose different crosshairs.
Where the weapon shoots can be dependent on the convergenge and depth that you are using. In some games, this is not a problem.
In games where it is a problem and you are using Nvidia's laser sight

Maybe I am not cut out for this - but it was my original understanding that this mod remove the games (+) bulls eye so that the laser can replace it and that the line of code (the setting) added to the profile moves the laser down to match the projectiles. REgarless, thank you once again for helping me today - It is greatly appreciated

If you are using mouse and keyboard, you can try this

GUIDE: How to bind a custom convergence/depth setting to Right mouse click [Gun sights/Sniper]
If you do not use the above ^^^
You can instead use the right mouse button to turn the laser sight on and off

He said that he is tweaking the convergence to where the weapon is off screen. If it is tweaked this far, it will definitely shoot off to the side. Thus it seems he compensated for that.
I've no idea about your height issue.
Are you using a modified FOV?
DSR?
Dunno

Looks like I have a bit more reading to do! I am not using a KB/M, but the first resource you provided seems to be what I need. I learned very much today about tweaking the profiles and adding lines/settings, for this I thank you very much (I wish I had known some of this sooner, but never reached out to the message boards). Cheers and thank you once again - Jesse

A lot of guys simply play without a site, it can become somewhat second nature, especially in games where the bullet impacts dead center of the screen. But if ammo is an issue, a sight is almost a must have.
You might try removing his LaserY adjustment and try this
Lower the depth very low, like maybe 5% or 10% or 15%.
Now adjust the convergence as desired using the weapon for reference and not things in the distance.
Sometimes this is a better alternative in FPS games, which I'm assuming this is. I can't remember, I played it a little on a friends XBox when it first came out. I was a Playstation user, so I never played some of these games. Metal Gear Solid FTW

Yah, importing with Nvidia's profile manager can be a huge asset to have in your repertoire. It's super useful for SLI users testing different cool bits(settings). But it's a godsend to 3D users, testing different profile settings.
Lots of useful info in these forums, but it can be hard to search.
This helps
