The Witcher 2 in 3D Vision Official thread from NVIDIA

Thanks, both solutions worked! I ended up going with foreverseeking's method, as it had a smaller framerate hit. I have another issue though - this only happens in certain lighting conditions, and when the camera is quite close. The intro dialogue for the arena triggers it every time. It's hard to describe, but it's as if I get little polygons flickering in and out of existence, all around the characters - faces in particular. It's really weird, and only happens during close-ups - I can trigger it by watching the arena dialogue, or by going to the windows of the first house in the tutorial, and moving the camera reasonably close to Geralt's face (but not too close). It goes away as soon as the camera gets further.

I fixed that, though I have no idea how. I disabled AA, and enabled FXAA in the nvidia control panel - but now turning it back to how it was doesn't cause the problem to come back. Weird, but glad it's sorted.

strange. I had the exact same problem with the flickering polygons, although I didn't have aa enabled in the nvidia panel. I had to delete witcher 2 from the wither 2 nviida profile to fix it.

Not sure who I helped about that earlier but as foreverseeking said that was the problem. I think the guy just used witcher 1's profile instead. I had same issue in Dragonage 2/ Blades of time It has something due to with when models go past 2D and "pop-out". It only happens to some people though, so I have no clue. Might be a sli/non sli -- 600 series/ non 600 series. I have no idea.

Yeah, it's a weird one. I did read a few pages of this thread (the last 5 or so), but I must have missed you talking about it - or it was back earlier on.

Hello everyone! Newbie 3DV gamer here, just bought a full-spec Clevo P370SM3 (4930mx, 32GB, 4xSSD, 2x780M) and am having fun with it! Just a small hint for people playing this wonderful game, I found the issue behind the dancing/flickering polygons in 3DV. Yes, switching to TW1 profile fixes the issue, but since there is a TW2 profile with completely different settings/optimizations, didn't want to lose it. So I tested every single parameter of the TW1 profile and find out which is the one fixing the issue. It's this one: Setting ID_0x70e34a78 = 0x1945b570 Just use NVidia Inspector to export the whole set of profiles into a TXT, then open it, add this line to The Witcher 2 profile (or copy it from TW1), and you're set! A full working TW2 profile as NVidia intended it, but WITH the TW1 fix for the triangle flickering issues on faces/details when cam is close! I went through every single one to find out, so I hope to save people re-playing it in SLI+3DV some time ;-) Now I wonder what that cryptic value does in the driver... does anyone knows? It's worth keeping it in mind if you find similar issues in other games ;-) Enjoy!

I also noticed it's used by many other profiles (hundreds), and it's also used by Dragon Age 1/2 profiles, which someone reported reported having similar issues. Setting ID_0x70e34a78 = 0x1945b570 So it's definitely a tweak worth a try for cases as such.

Thanks for the heads up. I am about 30% through Witcher 2, so this will help.

I already had this line (Setting ID_0x70edb381 = 0x24208b6c) in mine profile. New drivers version tho. I finished game and i remember having some of mentioned glitches as well as very weird ones on the right side of the screen. Like polygons just before they build environment. mike_ar69 - keep an eye on this creatures called Draug. When you kill them you gonna get parts for one of the best armor in this game. There are other enemies which might confuse you called Draugir (they did to me) but i mean the big ones on battlefield. Don`t mind me if you already know that. I didn`t know about the actual best armor in the game which is Oathbreaker's armor and Wild Hunt Armor. They might be useful when you transfer your savegame to Witcher 3.

Setting "pre-rendered frames" to 1 in the nvidia control panel also fixes this issue in most games.

Where polygon glitches when convergence exceeds 2D [pop-out] models. Like it tries to connect to the two(?). Its only bad at high convergence though. Not sure if it always happened or what tbh.

Sorry did a mistake, copy-pasted the wrong setting, that one I pasted was already in the TW2 profile and doesn't fix the issue. THe correct one which is NOT present in TW2 profile even in latest driver, but IS present in TW1 profile and fix the issue with 3DV+SLI in TW2 is this one: Setting ID_0x70e34a78 = 0x1945b570 InternalSettingFlag=V0 Just confirmed it again starting from scratch with a clean install ;-)
