Not a troll friends, there is still a 1060 in my machine. I know there is a lot of talk about Russian bots and stuff but lets relax. Maybe stay off social media a few days, it actually helps with anxiety and all that.
I returned the product, I didn't open it to make the return process easier. I understand I missed out on something cool, but I don't want to get attached to something that's future is uncertain. Once again, not because I doubt the community's support for 3D but I don't see a strong future for it if it doesn't have the serious financial backing. I understand they keep the drivers updated, but I don't want to get attached to something that the industry doesn't have on their radar.
I think it is extremely admirable that there is still a strong 3D community. The thing is I work in IT and am messing with computers all day, the last thing I want to do when I come home is mess around with my games trying to get them to work the way I want them to. I purchased the product not understanding it wasn't a "plug and play" type of device that would work easily. And the PC community is correct in that once you go 60 fps you don't go back to the above poster :p
If the glasses were about half the price maybe you will see me here again. Really rubbed me the wrong way how I was marketed the product.
I love you. Don't be mad.
Yeah, I am a systems administrator for a security company so I definitely understand your position about not wanting to have to do work when you are home. However 95% of the time it takes 10 seconds to get 3dvision to 3dready status with a zip extraction to the games directory.
Sorry If my particular post came off as harsh and although I do not agree with your position, I can see where you are comming from.
I know one things for sure, 3d gaming with this community has become so important to my experience that if it dies, my gaming days will probably go with it. It changes the game and I literally can not go back...

I think I'd be able to go back to 2D after a long transition if 3D dies (after all I've been playing videogames since I was 2 years old), but I won't do that voluntarily and without fighting back.
I work as a web developer, but I still like modding and tweaking config files at home (almost no social life, yay :p). People tell me that I spend more time tweaking games than playing them (it's false, even if I tweak a lot).
OP should have tried the kit. I was in a similar position when I bought my first one, thinking it would work out of the box with almost every game (it was 2014 when I bought it, before 3Dmigoto existed for DX11 games). I was disappointed when I saw broken effects and reduced fps compared to 2D, but after a few months of not touching it I discovered the Helixmod blog. Then I couldn't stop using 3D and after some time I became interested in fixing games.
Even if google trends shows a dying interest in 3D Vision (https://trends.google.es/trends/explore?date=2009-01-01%202017-10-28&q=%2Fm%2F0c4262k), fixes are being released at a very good pace. I sometimes look at my GOG and Steam libraries and think "what else is there to fix?", and I come up with very few examples.
I buying some antiquated piece of junk that was scrapped years ago?
As someone mentioned there is over 600+ games with support (native/helix). Most of the games are latest AAA titles. Show me any VR which has support for at least tenth (60+) AAA titles games?
I bought 3D Vision 2 Kit for around 60 dollars few months ago and must say that even though this technology is old, nowadays is probably the best 3D tech available (price + support + experience). Not mentioning support for 3D movies...
So stay calm and enjoy it - better support fix makers so they can support us as long as possible.

i've a HTC VIVE, i like VR but i like 3DVision too ! According to my advice, this combination is the best way to play games ! because it's nice to play 3DSurround without to wear a headset. :)
and we can count on Helixmod team to keep 3Dvision still and wonderfully alive ! :)
next purchase in one month for my beloved 3DSurround :)

If it dies entirely I'll have to buy one of those Occulus things.
