I have installed 3d tv play and tried it on a Samsung.. I tried EQ2 and Rift.
Neither looked in the slightest bit 3d (I tried at 1080 and the 720 res). The mouse icon was slightly 3d'd i.e. it looked like it was raised off the game and all this did was make the mouse icon flicker slightly and harder to control. None of the game play had any depth, removing my glasses I could see no difference.
Is this right? Is it cack or have I just not done something correct? Has anyone tried eq2 or Rift?
Lastly, I kept using the 14 day trial period on start up, at the end I decided to uninstall yet I still see the 3 settings when starting games. Can I get my money back on this if I can not get a satisfactory 3D image?

Something's clearly not right. There should be an obvious double-image when viewed without the glasses. Does the 3D test from the control panel work? Check that you haven't enabled the "Hide stereoscopic effects when a game starts" option as well.

The test works fine but in any game I do not get a double image. The "hide" part is not checked. I have just installed tri def and that worked fine.. weird.

Did you try looking at 3D pics at the end of setup? I've found that if those are in 3D, games are too. Do you see the "3DTV Play" logo in control panel?
A bigger issue is that 3DTV Play has a severe bug that affects Samsung 3DTVs, it won't do checkerboard mode. So even if 3DTV Play "worked", 3D gaming would be very unsatisfactory. You would have either terrible image quality and good framerate, or good image quality and terrible framerate, no other possibilities. Nvidia is aware of this bug and has promised to fix it next driver release.
I would try the Stone Giant demo. If that doesn't look 3D then you have a problem.

I don't know if eq2 is not 3d tv play compatible, but it works great on normal 3d vision other than some issues with water. It even has sliders for depth and convergence in the options menu.

What's your 3D TV brand, type??? I have a PN63C8000 3D Ready Samsung Plasma TV and it didn't work with 3DTV Play a few months ago. Now I think there's an update that fix this issue. 3DTV Play would not recognize those Samsung 3D Plasma TV's, instead of 3DTV Play logo in Nvidia control panel, I would only see HDMI 1.4 bluray 3D playback, that's all. I was able to go through the Wizard setup and see the Nvidia logo test in 3D, but at the end of the test it would say that I need to upgrade to 3DTV Play and I would see no 3D pics. So, 3DTV Play wasn't working back them with my TV. Nvidia was aware of this 3DTV Play compability issue with Samsung 3D Ready Plasmas, but now I think there's a fix, a 3DTV Play compability update tool that adds these TV's as compatible. I think there's a thread in this forum about this new update tool.
I haven't tried it yet, cause since last October I'm using a HDMI 1.4 Onkyo receiver and it's been working flawlessly with 3DTV Play, so no need to worry about any update, since my PC now recognizes the receiver to enable 3DTV Play and not the TV anymore.
So, you see now why I asked what type of 3D Ready TV you have... I've dealt with this before, it might not be your case, but I suspect it does...

I am running a Samsung LED 55 inch. It all looks fine on the set up.. 3d. Then running the logo test it is fine. I ried it in BF:BC2 and couldn't get it 3d. But what I will say is running at 720 is shokingly poor quality at 55inch. I don't 3d would make up for that.
I have sort of given up on it for the time being. Rift will be my new mmo and if 3d play tv won't do it (at a decent res or at all) then I won't bother with it. A shame really when I have a ps3 sitting there that cracks out 3d with no effort (on my behalf) at all.

Hi
I think the problem is that you may not have purchased 3DTV Play or its not enabled. here are some debug steps:
- When you go to the NVIDIA STereoscopic 3D control panel, does it say 3D Display Type as "HDMI 1.4" or "3DTV Play"?
- Did you purchase 3DTV Play from the NVIDIA store or do you have a 3D Vision kit with the USB IR emitter connected?

I don't know about EQ2.
