I started Far Cry 4 but I could only set 1920x1080 60Hz. What am I doing wrong?

This guide is only for UHD 40/50. But as far as I know at least in 2D mode 1920x1080 @120hz should work for UHD 51. If it doesn't then maybe you are using an AVR which is blocking 120hz signals. Just connect the projector directly to the PC. EDIT: I just saw your second screenshot. 4K is generally limited to 60hz as HDMI 2.0 does not allow for higher bandwidths.

OK thanks. I will test that. But if I connect the projector directly s.PC then I get no 5.1 sound. Then I only have the sound over the projector speakers. I have this AV receiver: Yamaha AV receiver RX-V385

Are you sure that the Optoma UHD51 can not 3DTV Play?

I'm looking for a projector that supports 3DTV Play and SBS. Maybe the Optoma UHD350X?

Optoma uhd 51 supports 3dtv play - your first Screenshot proves that?. 3dtv play however ist limited to 720p@60hz. Uhd40 only supports frame sequential 3d mode.

I think the UHD51 supports 3DTV Play with 1920x1080 @ 120Hz? So I do not have to set "Generic CRT"?

Why would you think this? Nvidia simply never updated 3DTV Play to support this. Your projector only supports 3DTV Play 1280x720 @60hz and 1920x1080 @24hz. As stated earlier the guide of this thread is meant for UHD 40 and not for UHD 51 so you don't need the Generic CRT mode. In fact Generic CRT mode is not supported by your projector because it does not support frame sequential 3D mode format.

Yes, it also applies to UHD 50. UHD 40 and UHD 50 seem to be exactly the same projectors but named differently depending on the country you live. But UHD 51 is another model and unfortunately the difference to UHD 40/50 is too big. I really don't unterstand why Optoma removed frame sequential 3D mode for Optoma UHD 51. It would have been the perfect projector for gaming and movies. Maybe they want that people buy both projectors (UHD 40 and UHD 51) lol ;D.

I believe the UHD40/50 came out first. There was an outcry by many people to support frame sequential stereo @ 120Hz, and so they implmented it in a new firmware. These people had to send their projectors back to Optoma to have the firmware upgraded to support Frame Sequential Stereo. I recall someone from here/AVS forums writing to optoma linking threads demanding frame Sequential support but I could be remembering wrongly. If I recall, this upgraded firmware also applied to UHD60 and UHD65, as well as likely others. The UHD51 came out as a 3D version of the UHD40/50, but the frame sequential people were already satiated, and so there was not therefore the same kind of demand. To Optoma, 3D means one of the inferior SBS/OU/Interlaced/frame packed signals from receivers/bluray players. None of those playes really support 120Hz input@1080p. It just didn't occur to them to add it, nor do they see the relvence of said support. For example, they tout universal 3D support, which all of us know it isn't - The only people who seem to care are us 3DV folk. Optoma's world view of 3D is fundamentally different to our own. I wonder if anyone has written specifically to Optoma to request a firmware update to UHD51 to support 1080p@120Hz. I'd be happy to do it if someone can give me their email addresses past their ignoramous level 1 "support". Edit: So, I have written the following to Optoma: ============ Dear Sir/Madam, There are thousands of us who are interested in frame Sequential 3D support on UHD projectors. From the high demand, we note that this frame sequential support was added to most UHD projectors such as the UHD40/UHD50/UHD60/UHD65 etc to enable 120Hz input at 1080p via a new firmware, even if owners had to send their projectors back to have the firmware upgraded to support this format. This resolution and input refresh rate is extremely inmportant to a huge segment of us projector consumers because it allows us the possibiity to enjoy 3D content such as nVidia's 3D Vision, or allows us gamers to play at 120 fps (120Hz input is the bare minimum refresh one would find in the lucrative gaming monitor market, more commonly 144Hz+). Thousands more of us were waiting with great anticipation for a true 3D UHD projector from Optoma which might also support other (inferior) formats. We thought our prayers were answered upon the release of the UHD51/UHD51A/UHD51ALVE as they touted "universal 3D support". As you know these projectors are fundamentally identical to the UHD40/UHD50 but with the addition of 3D support. It was then with great frustration and disbelief that we discovered that even though the UHD51/UHD51A/UHD51ALVE tout universal 3D support, it does not actually support the best 3D format: frame sequential 1080p@120Hz - the very same support that there was an outcry about earlier, that made Optoma develop updated formware for UHD40/UHD50/UHD60/UHD65 models as mentioned above. There have been many questions on many an inernet forum thread on many websites asking what the hell Optoma was thinking? We are now in a bizare situation where the cheaper non-3D UHD40/UHD50 etc projectors are producing the best 3D at superb 1080p@120Hz input, whereas the more expensive "universal 3D" (but otherwise identical) UHD51 /A /ALVE projectors only support inferior formats such as side-by-side/over-under/interlaced/frame-packed, but do not support the best format: 1080p@120Hz input. Rediculous. We all hope that this is some kind of stupendous mistake, and that 1080p@120Hz input will be added to 3D UHD projectors shortly. A huge number of us await such information on various forums, but dare not purchase anything until we are absolutely certain. Would you kindly let us know when we can expect 1080p 120Hz 3D support on Optoma's "3D" projectors, especially the UHD51 series, as is available on all UHD40/50/60/65 projectors? Thank you and kind regards, The AVS forum community, the nVidia 3D Vision community, and the UK AV Forum community. ============ I anticipate slow, ignorant responses filled with half-truths, missinformation, empty promises, and outright lies; as has become standard practice for the industry. Hi RAGEdemon, thx for writing that letter to Optoma. I also think that one of the problems here is passing the level 1 support. They really don't know what we mean - for them 3D is 3D movies only. Framepacked format here is not worse than frame sequential as 24 hz are sufficient - and frame sequential 3D has the disadvantage that it needs a PC and a "Quad buffered graphics card" which is unthinkable for the living room where only the bluray player has a right to stay ^^ - this is probably what they'll answer you ;). I'm also sure that the first level support doesn't know what 3D Vision is or what it is good for. And maybe they don't even know that it's possible to play games in 3D. Best thing would be if there is someone here who could give you a more direct email address. Unfortunately I don't know one. Btw my UHD 40 didn't need a firmware upgrade. 3D was supported out of the box. I don't know if back in February 2018 when it was first sold needed that. I bought it later in May or so.

Any idea why my PC set to 4K 60Hz has a horizontal interference looking line scrolling up the UHD50? I set it to 50Hz and it goes away. Also don't have it at the 1080 120Hz setting. I haven't tried, skipping the AVR. Though my Firestick is putting 4K 60Hz through the AVR and it doesn't have this line.
