It is possible to return because the of law but not to exchange. The product is not on stock anymore, only supplier stock. They will never accept to order one from supplier to change mine. Please excuse my ignorance but of course it will be flickery at 24Hz. I believe projectors have "double flash" to up this to 48Hz or "triple flash" to up this to 72Hz which solves this problem. Also, try creating a custom resolution for 48Hz and 72Hz to see if it helps? I don't have this problem so can't test the but would like to help.

It is my first projector so maybe i'm wrong but it shouldn't flicker like this. The flicker is enough to give you an epileptic seizure, if the technology is like this it shouldn't be on the market. From my understanding double flash and triple flash refer to how fast the glasses and image switch between left and right

It definitely shouldnt flicker at all. Im also using 1080p24hz to watch 3d movies and i havent seen flicker on any of my projectors. Of course i do notice the low hz when im moving a mouse or window or trying to play a game but there shouldnt be any visible flicker.

It shouldn't be flickery but each projector is different. Reminds me of CRT monitors at 24Hz. Do you NEED to have it at 24Hz?

Yes, Double/triple flash does relate to the shutter speed of the glasses. It's driven by the white flash from the colour wheel, which is a function of the refresh rate and the wheel speed in rpm, which is why the pitch changes when in 3d mode as the wheel is spinning faster. Plus some boost brightness and increase fan speed accordingly. I'd check some reviews of that projector, but it sounds like a firmware bug or hardware fault to me. You could try tridef trial maybe at 1080p 30hz, but it's kind of academic. You want to be gaming at 720p in 3d anyway to be honest as it's the only playable res for all sorts of reasons.

So..... I received back my fixed projector. The problems I was having were from the Ballast. It was changed and now there is no more flickering in 24Hz. Moreover I need to make some correction as due to my projector's technical problem I might have unintentionally disinformed some ppl. I was saying that SmartEco is bullshit and doesn't really decrease power consumption and prolong lamp life but this was only true with my faulty projector. Now after it got fixed lamp power is reduced based on what is shown on screen, power consumption measured at the outlet going down significantly, many times lower than economic mode. Same can be said for Eco/Blank button which now gets the lamp power very low.

Well that wasn't too bad of a turn around, I'm happy to hear that it was incident free. [s]strike[/s] You can strike your previous comments by putting [s][/s] on either side
It shouldn't be flickery but each projector is different. This is why different display technologies can have vastly different amount of flicker even though they run at the same refresh rate.

After a few days of tests I can say now that buying this projector for gaming was a very good choice. From a 3D gaming experience point of view my Benq W1300 (110" screen) kicks my 4K TV's ass, even if image quality wise 3D in 4K TV's is the best on the market. I can't say it was easy to reach the point of happiness but eventually I did. The big trouble I had was correct setting (color profiling). After many hours of trying to find the best settings, searching for recommendation online, I still felt something was off. Even if I could hit the correct white, and colors, contrast was not OK and image was washed out. As I got bored of guessing settings I bought a Colormunki Display and calibrated the projector (ICC profile). It was very easy and results are fantastic. Second problem was the feeling of lower resolution but more pronounced only in some of the games, which got me thinking. I found out that what was actually bothering me was Aliasing. So I cranked up Anti-aliasing in NV control panel and low resolution perception is gone.

Good news. Are you able to game at 60FPS? Also, don't forget about 4x DSR - the bets form if antialiasing!

How does the colors compare in 3d before the calibration and after the calibration. Because I get excellent picture when using it in 2d mode but in 3d mode, everything is a lot dimmer in 3d. I can up the gamma to help out with the darkness to compensate for the shutter glasses but they never get even twice as bright as passive 3d. Personally, I think passive is too bright sometimes but that means I have more headroom to address for gradients of blacks in 3d mode.

Yes I get 60fps in the games I play. Using Dsr i found the text looking weird. Before calibration image in 3d had either a green or red tint and was very washed out. Now the only difference to 2D is that the image is a lot Darker which is to be expected but the colors look the same color balance is same as in 2D. I found that for games with dark image is better if you increase brightness in-game and contrast on the projector. Increasing brightness or decreasing gamma point on the projector just gives you a greenish image and you still can't see details in the dark. PS: now during the day I am playing Bf4 Hangar map(combination of dark and light environment). With contrast increased to 70 every detail is visible on dark or lighten images. I only have covered the main window so there is indirect light in the room
Using Dsr i found the text looking weird.
Make sure to only use 4x DSR. Anything lower and its uselessly horrible, as it isn't an exact 2:1 ratio. For the brightness problem, consider a glass bead screen. A lot if us here have one and haven't looked back.
