Call of Duty World at War Heat distortion
Hello,

I am very impressed by this game in 3D, but I have had no need to disable glow neither DOF as nvidia recommends; On the contrary I find the effect of heat distortion used around tanks, fires, or simply over the hot terrain (it is used extensively in Peleliu, for example) the most disturbing by far. I have tried several cvars for disabling it, even r_distortion 0, without success. Don't know what more to try, and it is a pity because the rest of the game is almost perfect in 3D...

Does someone know how to disable that?? And do you guys have the same problem than me? Or do you see the heat distortion correctly? If not, how you bare with it?

Thanks a lot

This should be much improved in our next driver release, 186.18, coming soon!

Yep, we verified that with previous drivers (in fact I was the one who found the bug ;) ). Should be fixed in our next release coming really soon!

Hi

two questions for you:

1. What version/patch of the game are you running?
2. Are you using single GPU or SLI?

it is cod waw v 1.4 (in game menu it say 1.4.1144)
I am running 186.18 drivers
I got a single 8800 GTX

I downloaded the full cd again "GeForce_3D_Vision_CD_v1.09_WinVista_Win7_int.zip" too and of course I uninstalled all the old drivers before installing the new ones and turned off my firewall and antivirus during the install so i dont think i did anything wrong.

I also have the newest 1.09 drivers and no names in COD WaW. It really is too bad as this is one of my favorite games.

Here is my specs:

windows 7 RC
2x260s in sli
1 9800gt for physx
i7 920
12 gigs ddr3
COD WaW VERSION 1.4

EDIT: I have the same issue in TF2. No names. This is a game where no names is really unplayable.
