3D Vision Weekly Questions Bugs, Questions & More

Andrew,

It's been a year now and the first 1080p 3d vision ready monitor (from alienware) still refreshes from top to bottom like the Samsung, which causes noticeable and significant ghosting on the top and bottom of the screen in high contrast areas. I assume the technology must exist to drive more rows of a screen simultaneously, which would vastly improve on the ghosting issue. Why aren't these kinds of screens being manufactured and what is nVidia doing to address it?
Are there any plans for a power user settings mode? Perhaps settings that allow max depth to be exceeded, sync timings to be adjusted, allow the glasses to be activated manually and detection of displays to be overridden. Just a few power user options would help a lot of our issues satisfy our preferences.
+1 This si what we desperately need. It would allow so much more user to user debugging, plus it would make the system for more useable. Is there a reason its being withheld?

Hi nVidia, a quick question related to Dragon Age:Origins.

I played the game with driver version 1.13, and it was perfect, just brilliant. At some point recently I updated to 1.17 for Avatar, and now in DA:O the Party portraits down the left side of the screen look very odd - I have to close one eye to see them solidly.

My question is - is this planned to be fixed? As I love playing DA:O in 3D and really don't want to revert to old drivers.

Thanks,

Sunny.

Dear nVidia,

we use a Miracube G240S monitor with a quadro FX 1700 graphic card. Miracube told us that we have to use the stereo 3d driver for games, but the only driver we were able to obtain was the stereo driver for XP (91.31). This driver is not compatible with our system and crashes. Therefore I wanted to ask which driver you would suggest for this system ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi guys,

I've just read about the Nvidia 3D Vision kit.
I started looking what's needed for compatibility and found I would need a new card (I have an 8600), but it's a good excuse for an upgrade!

Then I discovered that OpenGL games are not supported - and reading through the forum posts it appears they are not going to be.

I only play first person shooters and not one is on the list...
According to the magazine article, there is software support with another make of card, including opengl.

Is there any point waiting for Nvidia to provide proper opengl support??

Robert.

Hi,

I have a portable DELL M6400 with a Quadro 3700M, which is listed as compatible with 3D Stereo for Quadro.
The 3700M only has a DisplayPort and a VGA video outputs.

The question is : how am I supposed to connect a 3DVision-ready screen to the portable to be able to use a Quad-Buffered OpenGL application in 3D Stereo, since it seems that no current 3D Vision Ready display has a DisplayPort input, and none of the DisplayPort to DVI (simple or dual) adapter support 120Hz ?

EDIT: found the answer : get a docking station where the missing connectors, including a DVI-DualLink port are replicated.

Will 3D Vision work with the new Samsung LED 3D HDTVs that have just been released?
These are the tvs I'm referring to: http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=sr_nr_...p;rnid=15784691

Hi there,
I was wondering whether there is a limit to the number of glasses you can have connected to the one emitter and if there is what is the limit.
Cheers

There shouldn't be any limit on the number of glasses you can use at once, as long as they all have a clear line-of-sight to the emitter.

BUG: 3D-Vision-Discover can't be enabled on Laptop-Panels.
3D-Wizzard doesn't start and brings this error: "This laptop's panel is not qualified for 3D Vision".
Not qualified??? Red/Cyan-glasses doesn't need a special Display!!! The Laptop is a Dell XPS M1730 and is powerful enough for 3D-Vision-Discover.

This Bug is introduced with v191.03 and is still there with v197.13 . v190.38 is the last driver that works.
I allready started a thread to record this problem.
