3D Vision Games (Curated store on Steam)

We can test things out. Do you know if I can edit the tagline once I put it in? I've been holding off in case we only get one shot.

It might also be easier to just go with a simple grading scale. 1 - 5 stars. Or a Thumbs up/down scale. Like if I reviewed a game: Thumbs Up - StalkerU **** - StalkerU And then put the relevant links to it. It's a whole lot easier to catalog all this old stuff. By including our user ID, we'll at least identify who the score is attached to and it'll show it's not all encompassing. You really can't write a whole lot for reviews. And if you're brief, you start repeating your words in short order. So you begin to sound like a recording. [quote="Pirateguybrush"]We can test things out. I'm writing in a couple reviews now, the character limit is lower than I was expecting. I'm thinking maybe a sentence or two about the game, a note on whether a fix is required, then your user ID? I propose we limit to games we'd actually recommend in 3D with few to no issues, which negates the need for an additional rating on top of the recommendation. The system allows for links to "the full review", so I'm thinking that's where we can link any required fixes/tweaks. Link to the blog/forum page, rather than directly to the fix. I've just done a couple so far, in case we change our minds on the format.

Good idea about using "full review" link to link to the Helix mod. I was actually being incredibly lazy with my review system proposal. The rating/thumbs system was the user's opinion of the game. I don't think we should list any games that would get a bad score solely for its 3D ability. Those would be left out completely.

Damn I wish I would have seen this thread sooner:)) http://steamcommunity.com/groups/3dVisionGames If anyone wants to join the group let me know:) Everyone will be an officer so he/she can update and add other games as well:)

I can definitely plan on deleting mine (in the OP). Because of the three groups in this thread, that has the least investment in it. There's something to be said for yours (since we would ultimately have admin control), but there's something to be said for joining a group that already has 200+ followers. I'm willing to go whatever direction.

Bit of a shame about the group name (because the curator page shows "Recommended 3D Vision Games recommends"), but you've already done so many that it would be a shame to let it go to waste now.

I have a preference for not proliferating pages. We have a small community already, and if we spread it over multiple related pages, we get spread even thinner. That's why I suggested we'd probably use the already existing group. I don't really understand the curator pages and it's relationship to groups though. Is there value in multiple pages? Are we really co-opting that group, or adding value to it? I don't want to mess them up if this somehow sidetracks their group. Hate to see Helifax have to redo that work, but if it's only a couple of hours I still think it would be better to switch to the older group and have a single Steam contact point. If someone was motivated, you could save Helifax the time by copying and pasting his list to the original group. Lastly, thanks for suggesting this Paul33993! Great idea.

From what I can tell, a curator page is a new function added to existing groups. There's not really any value in multiple pages. So in that sense, we'd be adding value to the other group. It wasn't really in active use at all, and the creator is happy for us to do this. I favour it just because the name of Helifax's group bugs me (department of redundancy department), but I also hate to see all the work he's already put in wasted. The reviews seem mostly identical though, so I guess it's not that much work to redo them.

I have no problem with deleting the group either:) and migrate to the existing 3D Vision one. But I don't know who are the officers there and if they will allow us to add the game list;))

I'm an officer, and I have the ability to create new officers. We have permission to set up a curation page there if we want.

[quote="Pirateguybrush"]I'm an officer, and I have the ability to create new officers. We should let anyone who's known here have officer rights. The bigger the database, the more useful it is for everyone. But I think we should settle on a standard review format. Definitely think we should require a Steam ID signature if we're getting into subjective reviews. This way we know who's reviewed what. I'm not advocating we should do subjective reviews, just that if we do, we should self-identify who it was. EDIT: One more important point. Store rankings are based on followers. Even if that group has 250 members, it'll require they actually hit the follow button to become followers. It's a store with 0 followers at creation.
