Yeah - I know it's an oldie, but also a great Classic IMHO :)
The game runs in Unreal 2 engine.. DX ??? I have the GOG version.
I have installed the Fan patch and trimmed every setting in the ini files, and maxed every option in NV CP. so now it actually looks really cool.
3D is perfect.. but there is a very annoing issue, the skybox is separated in 2 layers, 1 with the stars and that accptable, but the other one is Earth and it's far to close, it totally ruins the sessions in the spaceship :/
I can't get any of the DLL's to hook up for some shader hunting..
Can any of you guys out there help me please...

I did look into this in the past and it's a shame about the problems with the sky box. I was able to launch the game and hook the debugger. The game will load with the red text on the top but the game will crash on loading a level and therefore not able to hunt for the sky box shader. I've tried both the injector and d3d9.dll debugger without success. It's too bad since this game is actually pretty good, especially in 3D. I stopped playing once I hit the planet because I could deal with the slight distraction of stars within the ship etc....but on the planet it's pretty awful background distraction and not really playable.
Blacksmith56, if you want to try what I did, download this
http://enbdev.com/download_convertor_dx8todx9.htm
use 0.36 version and then drop the helix debugger in the system folder. Edit the enbconverter.ini to the following. The game loads with the debugger no problem (red text on top & creates dump folders) but then crashes when I load a level. I suspect it'll crash for you too but who knows, maybe you'll have better success than me.

InitProxyFunctions=1

I was tinkering with the Steam/Vanilla version and so far this is what I've found...
As is:
[.]A few elements that only render in one eye, like the loading screen/icon[/.][.]Sky(Planet) Indoor and Outdoor issue, breaking with Convergence[/.][.]there's a light/glow 2D/screen depth issue
*also this weird unlit(?) square at his feet by the red carpet when you first start off.[/.]
with dgVoodoo2:
[.]Adds another one eye issue, fixable with a custom flag in the Profile[/.][.]Adds a random black screen bug when flying(maybe elsewhere?), fixed by hitting Tab(opening the Console?)[.]Adds the ability to use 3DMigoto
*Fixed the weird unlit square issue[/.][/.]
with dgVoodoo2 & 3Dmigoto:
[.]Was able to fix the Sky Outdoors using an INI ShaderOverride[/.][.]Fixing the Indoor Sky issue via INI ShaderOverride breaks other elements[/.]
So the good news is it's probably do-able but it's beyond what I can do, that indoor sky shader is going to need a fix applied to just the planet and nothing else and I have no clue what I'm doing with 3DMigoto...
There's still that one minor(unless something else crops up later on in the game) one eye issue with the loading screen/logo but that's an issue with the Driver/Profile that I haven't been able to isolate yet, there's DX10 flags but this is a DX8 game...
I did try it with dgVoodoo2 & SuperDepth3D but there was no discernible DepthMap...
Flag added to Profile using GeForce 3D Profile Manager:
Setting ID_0x70edb381 = 0x24208b06 InternalSettingFlag=V0
Well done TsaebehT, thanks a lot for taking a look :)
This is a step in the right direction...
I have dgVoodoo2 running with 3Dmigoto and aded the flag, but it didn't seem to correct the outdoor issue. Instead I got some serious one eye issues with movie clips :/
I can hunt shaders though with 3Dmigoto that is really amazing !
I'm not so sure about what to do in dgVoodoo2, I have copied D3DCompiler_47 to system dir in game, and trying to configure dgV2 in DX8, is there something I have missed here ?

I just double-checked the Flag I added to the Profile and it's still working fine here, I have seen the one-eye issue with other Values... are you sure you added it correctly and using GF3DPM(not NI/NPI)? ...the only other thing I can think of is maybe SLI, are you running SLI? I'm not...
Idk... maybe try removing that Flag and see if you get the one-eye issue without it while using dgVoodoo2?
As far as the INI Indoor/Outdoor fixes, I didn't post them mainly because the indoor(on foot) one caused more issues than it fixed... anyway add this to the d3dx.ini... I had the Hash Values change at some point but I could never figure out why and they still seem to be working here.

GeForce 3D Profile Manager

I just tried installing Advent Revising 2 Full, to be sure that it didn't change anything... it didn't, I didn't think it would because it's mostly movies and tweaked settings but thought I'd make sure.
Like D-man11 said GF3DPM is GeForce 3D Profile Manager... and NI is NVIDIA Inspector and NPI is NVIDIA Profile Inspector... what NI has become.

LOL.. Off cource it is, you confused me with the amount of letters :)
And yes thats exactly what I used !
I haven't got time for gaming today, so I'll take a look at it tommorow, and report in if I make any progress.
Have you tried to simply disable the earth ? (that sounded weird :)

Tis not the Earth, tis some alien planet.
I thought the same thing, that it was too close when I tried the game last year.
But due to the game being a mess, I only played it a little bit.
