I hope someone is interested working on a helix mod fix for this game. I wonder if a shader mod could be worked on faster than a rockstar or nvidia fix. Do we even have any confirmation other than "The issues are being looked at"? I don't know if I want to count on an official fix any time soon. Then again with possible driver problems I'm not sure if it would help... One fix I would really like to see: Disable shadows. I'm not sure why this was was not an option. Probably the most commonly broken 3d part in this and most games is shadows.. Shadows get messed up here after playing for just a short period, more often than shaders getting messed up. Possibly they are related.. Often shadows get messed up and the game freezes shortly after that. I'm only able to play about one mission before I have to restart the game otherwise shadows and or shaders get messed up and the game will freeze shortly after.
what ??? shadows are ok, u need to turn on soft or sharpen shadows, thats it btw i'd love to set convergence for weapons separately, changing fov is not an option
I do have the shadows set to soft. And for a few minutes the shadows do work fine and look great. However I'm trying to get into Fort Zancudo and every time I get there the shadows break. They break in other places also. What happens is the shadow is showing in different spots in each eye. Not just convergence but significantly different places and breaks the whole thing. Shortly after and sometimes at the same time the shaders go sideways as well showing differences in each eye. However if there was an option to totally turn off shadows it might help.

How is the SLI support in this game? And does it work well with 3D Vision? I have a single 980 right now, and have been on the fence about getting another for SLI for awhile, and I think that this game has made me seriously consider it. This game is gorgeous in 3D but I have to play with everything set to normal (low) to get decent framerates while driving in first person. I am probably averaging 45-60 fps while playing with maybe a few dips here and there and am hoping to run on higher settings with a solid 60 fps. Do you guys think this would be possile? By the way, I am gaming on a 1080p monitor.

Has anyone who uses HDMI Checkerboard method noticed that hud is drawn at wrong depth causing severe eye strain while normal 3DTV play works fine and without issues.

Maybe someone with SLI 980s can benchmark to see. Edit: Scaling in SLI doesn't show to be all that good, at maybe 30%. This doesn't seem quite right, based solely on how the game 'feels'. With single card it doesn't feel playable, with SLI it does. Not sure. SLI scaling is the complete opposite for me. At first I though SLI was running, so I turned it off and then ran the same in built benchmark. I found out I got the same or more framerates with only one videocard. So my problem is I noticed when I have SLI activated, my gpu load is at 40% for both gpus, but when I disable sli, I get 98% gpu load. This means, if I can't get higher gpu load, this game will be stuck at 30 fps while in the city because of my SLI performance. I get 90 fps when I'm running without 3D vision enabled. GTX 670 SLI running at 1920x1080 3D and not getting the gpu load I need. Max Payne 3 profile is slightly slower in performance than the GTA 5 profile. About 10% slower on my computer. From the past, I recall getting 90% gpu load on both gpus when playing far cry 3. The positive I have to say is that new patch did fix the one eye text for me so I'm good with that part.

Based on this review here for SLI framerates, I should be getting 40% boost on my single card framerate. This means I have a serious problem. http://www.gamersnexus.net/game-bench/1905-gta-v-pc-fps-benchmark-graphics-cards Though they were running it at 4K instead of 1080p.

Single card GPU max load at 89%

Pass 4, 14.616720, 64.267632, 39.220707

2 way SLI GPU max load at 69%

Frames Per Second (Higher is better) Min, Max, Avg

I did tweak the afr2 but then I clean reinstalled my driver and have since stopped using that profile two days ago because there was some kind of huge hit in framerate for turning that on with DirectX 11 enabled. If I set it to DirectX 10, there was no hit in framerate with AFR2. I only know of two places to tweak that value, Nvidia control panel for game or general profile. And Nvidia inspector. Also, your benchmarks are way higher than mine in 3D. I can only get half those numbers using your settings. Bo3b, What was the gpu load on both your cards in SLI?

Max of 85% in single card, Max of 69% in SLI. I'll add that to last post. My best guess here is that we are CPU bound. That would also be consistent with the benchmarks run by GamerNexus where the SLI scaling is about the same at 1080p. Are you using DirectX10? That will add another variable that I've not tested. BTW, I also lose about 10% of performance using MaxPayne3 profile.
