Resident Evil 6
  1 / 9
So it is only 4 days until the PC-version of Resident Evil 6 becomes reality for us. I guess there are at least 2 facts that should get our hopes high in terms of RE6 and 3DVision. 1) Resident Evil 5 is a showcase title for 3D-Vision (do not forget to unlock convergence. That is what elevates this title from being impressive to being glorious. Unlike RE5 RE6 will not be 3D-Vision ready by default unfortunately but it is rated good already by Nvidia. So we already know it definitely will be playable in 3D by default. 2) Resident Evil 6 is a DirectX9 title. And while every NON-3D PC-gamer cries out loud in agony because they did not implement DirectX11 with this one we 3D-enthusiasts also cry.....for HELIX! May the might of Helix bless us one more time.....

It may not be as good as everyone was expecting, still it's a very good game with tons of over the top action, I can only hope the 3d gods here can fix it, if it's rated good then the chances are high since it wont be a complete mess.

Exactly birthright! I also liked the REs of old a lot more than that new direction. But it is still a Resident Evil game with all these iconic characters. The action while surely focussing away from the classic survival horror approach is definitely top-notch and well executed. Also the interesting mutations are back and maybe better than ever. I watched my pal for several hours playing the Chris-Campaign (which is considered to be the most hated of the several campaigns because of non-stop shooting) on the PS3 and I even liked that. So I know I will like it. Even more so the Leon-campaign or Ada-campaigns which are considered to be the closest to the old RE titles.....

What do you mean since this game has a locked convergence by default no matter if you have convergence settings unlocked in the NCP advanced shortcuts. How were you able to unlock RE5 convergence settings? At the time I played this game there wasn't a way to do that, even messing around with the .xml config file wasn't doing any changes in that matter. Unfortunately Ive played this game in 3D without any convergence, just depth, and I still liked it pretty much. I might play RE5 again in 3D if you let me know how were you able to unlock convergence for 3D Vision in this very game??? I have high expectations for RE6 cause I saw the gameplay in a PS3 and I was really surprised how good the graphics looked like for a console game, so I expect the PC version to look even better, and considering it's going to work in 3D, it's going to look WAY better than it did in a PS3. I just hope if there are some 3D issues like objects rendered in the wrong depth or in 2D to be fixed by the mighty Helix considering that RE6 is a DX9 title. Keep up the excellent work Helix...

You can unlock re5 with chimi's fix on helix mod. Apparantly it is then a rather pleasent experience. I bought it for £2 the other day and am quite looking forward to playing it the way its meant to be played.

For a few years RE5 was convergence locked at 2D+depth basically. Because they didnt want to fix some stupid things. Id still consider it above Excellent rating with convergence unlocked. I have a 30 min preview of RE5 on youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbP-y1L1eKI&list=PL569DC2F3D0D3EF2A Action starts on part 2.

@francomg When playing this with locked convergence back in 2009 I enjoyed every second of the game just like you. When I did my second playthrough in 2012 with unlocked convergence this time I was simply blown away. So take my advice and definitely play it again with unlocked convergence! Still 3 days until RE6.....you can do it ;-)

OK guys I'll definatelly give it a try, but how do I unlock convergence for RE5? Let me know and I'll be happy to reinstall the game once again just to see the difference in 3D quality. Or is the unlocked convergence a feature that Nvidia presented us with the newer drivers???? I've just started playing Crysis 3 in 3D, so I'll wait a little bit till I try RE6. I'll probally play RE5 again with unlocked convergence now that I know about this. Anyway, I'm pretty sure RE6 will need a few fixes and since it's DX9, we should wait for a Helix fix to come out. In the mean time I'll be playing Crysis 3, unfortunatelly the 3D in this game is really poor(fake), but still better than plain 2D. I was playing Dead Space 3 in 3D using Helix fix and I was completely blown away by the imersive 3D I got in this game, just amazing by all means!!!!!

Oh I see, it's not Nvidia that has unlocked the convergence for RE5, it's a helix fix for the game? I thought was to good to be true that Nvidia decided to give us this present... Once again Helix making the difference as usual...
