This Aint' Avatar XXX- can't watch in 3D mode 3D Bluray Troubleshooting
Has anyone else tried to watch 'This Aint Avatar XXX' with Nvidia 3D glasses on PC? For some reason it displays each of the images side by side instead of 3D mode and the 3D mode option is disabled. This happens with both Powerdvd 10 and Totalmedia Theatre latest versions. Even with PowerDVD set to side-by-side mode in the 3D settings, it still displays the 2 images side-by-side. I read somewhere that the reason this happens is because the 'This Aint Avatar XXX' 3D bluray does not comply with universal 3D specifications. Also tried running Anydvd in the background without any success. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Will the release of the NVIDIA 3DTV Play software fix this problem?

The Blu-ray version of the movie is actually not in Blu-ray 3D format, but just video in Side by Side format that is recorded on Blu-ray media, so it does not require a Blu-ray 3D-capable video player.

Ooooh! Does this mean you can play it through the Nvidia player?

No. Nvidia player won't work. To play this disc in 3D on PC, you need Powerdvd set to side-by-side mode and you have to manually browse and open the file DBMV/Stream/00036.mts

That works but you shouldn't have to do that to play it. Actually some 3D blu-ray players will correctly enable side by side while playing this disc. On PowerDVD the 3D options are greyed out while playing this disc as a blu-ray. Its a bug in PowerDVD and needs to be reported to Cyberlink.

This method also works for playing back recorded 3D TV (side-by-side). Make sure PowerDVD is set to side-by-side in the 3D settings and browse/open the recorded 3D TV file. I use Windows Media Center (Windows 7) for recording 3D TV broadcasts. For those people in Australia, Channel 40 is running constant replays of the AFL grand final in 3D. The broadcast ends today so record it while you can.
