I'm using Windows 7 64bit

I have a HDMI to DVI cable. Here is the link to the cable I have. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001TH7T2U/ref=oh_o06_s00_i00_details

Only bad thing that I'm having is that at 1920x1080 I can only do 24hz.

Thanks for the reply.

1920x1080 at 24Hz is a limitation of HDMI 1.4. You have the option of playing games in S3D at 1280x720, 60Hz or 1920x1080, 24Hz. The former is your best bet for a smoother experience. The PS 3D Display only has 2 HDMI inputs and a Component input. You would need a Dual-Link DVI port to get anything higher than the aforementioned resolutions and refresh rates in S3D.

How about HDMI audio? Has anyone had luck making that work?

Update: Just updated to latest beta drivers. HDMI audio works now :)

It has worked with all drivers since the release of the PS 3D Display back in November in my experience.

Do the Monster transmitter, IR receiver and glasses work with the 24" Playstation 3D display? If anyone has used these together I would like to know it before I buy the Monster kit.

Thanks

I was lurking this thread since it's just about the only one I could find with info on the Playstaion 3d display and nVidia 3D. So, I am just going to throw in my 2cents in about my exp with it.

I just got the display and have a 560ti and after installing the latest drivers (295.73) I went to try to play my games in 3D... and found out they didn't work...

It went through the setup just fine and my glasses turned on but nothing was in 3d.
I found about the .inf file and after about 30 min of trouble installing, I found out on my own I had to change the extension from .txt to .inf. I guess everyone else just did it automatically or you are all software engineers? /tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Well, I finally got the 3d to work but I don't really like it.
First, I have to play in 720p. While maybe good for some games, not good for SWTOR. Because of heavy use of text and menus don't show well in 3d. Though SWTOR does have tons of hologram billboards and effects, which look pretty awesome with 3d enabled.

I was impressed of the 3d at first glance but afterwards I noticed a bad halo/ghost effect on everything and it was just hard to look at for very long, so I just ended up changing it back to 1080p without 3d.

The three PS3 games that are in 3D that I own look great though. (Killzone 3, Child of Eden, and Motorstorm.)

The PS 3D Display only supports refresh rates up to 60Hz. The 240Hz description is concerning motion/frame interpolation which is a "fake" method. The advertised 240Hz may also have something to do with the "simulview" feature but in any case the display only supports a "true" 60Hz.

The display is limited to two HDMI 1.4 inputs and one component input. It does not have a dual link DVI input which would be needed for a full 120Hz if the display supported it.

alright everyone I managed to get my Nvidia GTX 560 ti working perfectly with 3DPlay and the PlayStation 3D Display.
The easiest way to make sure it works and have the easiest setup is simply buying a 5.1 or 7.1 3D surround receiver that is 3D ready or 3D pass-through compatible.
My receiver wasn't even listed on nvidias website but it was recognized on my display properties and I can change the depth and turn on 3D in games by using
the Control + T in game.

I think any 3D compatible receiver will work so the video card never sees the display and only the receiver deals with it

The Display settings just recognizes the display as SONY AVAMP

I also would not use a 3D depth of more then 35 percent as anything more starts to have convergence issues
regardless of how you try and adjust the convergence.

Remember to set your resolution to 24 hz in the display properties to make it work and switch back to 60hz when using 2d so that
you will get a higher frame rate.

Im using a DVI to HDMI adaptor and it works fine.

Nvidia GTX 560 ti (newest driver with 3D Play installed) 295.73 Guess im gona have to buy the 3D play
Playstation 3D Display
Sony 7.1 Receiver Model: STRDH520 anywhere from 140 to 200 bucks.
Its worth it to not have a headatke

a little help please..

I've managed to get 3dtv play to activate with the display just fine using the modded.inf... the problem is that whenever i switch to a 3d resolution, HDMI audio output stops working for me and doesn't work again until i reboot
in non 3d mode... /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />

I've updated all my drivers to the latest and have an SPDIF cable connected to my GTX 275 which is connected to the display via a DVI -> HDMI adapter. could it be that my card is too old to handle 3d with audio over HDMI?? I find that ridiculous since my PS3 manages just fine!

My desk with my pc and speakers are far from my bed (which is right next to the sony display). When I went to relax and watch movies or game in 3d its annoying to not have sound come out through the tv but through the speakers that are all the way at the other end of the room... it totally kills the immersion experience.

thoughts anyone? thanks in advance!

Ok, bought the PS 3d display about a month ago to use mainly as my pc monitor. The test for 3d works flawlessly however, nothing works in games. I have tried the modded .inf file which didn't work, the only way I got it to pass the test is using the standard drivers for the display.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, here's my system build

EVGA GTX560 superclocked
AMD FX-6100
16GB ram
ASUS Sabertooth 990fx motherboard
the rest is nothing important to this

is anyone have problems after updating to latest 301.42 whql?

the .inf method worked perfectly under 290.53, i updated yesterday to 301.42 for Diablo 3 and now 3dtv play options are greyed out. performed a clean install of all drivers.

I'm having problems too...
I can't get 3dtv play to activate.. and when 3d is being used (3d setup wizard/ test utility) the picture is all out of whack.
it shows the 3d effect but there's a lot of flockering and it's stretched. damn... 301 was such a good update too.. love that FXAA and adaptive vsync.
