Ok so I used to own a 6970 and loved 3d gaming but the frame rates were unplayable on the newer games like bf3 so I decided to get the most powerful graphics card around (gtx690) as I heard good things about 3d vision and that I could get 80fps on bf3 in 3d. I have a 55 inch samsung 3dtv and 3 x Samsung 27inch 3d 120hz monitors (S27A950) all of which worked no problems with my ATI card, I could even have the 3 monitors doing 3D as one with the 6970.
I have tried all of my monitors and tv with the 690 and 3d vision doesn't work. I checked around and it seems you want us to have a cheap non-3d monitor and buy your kit so basically you want me to downgrade my pc to play 3D? If you want to earn money from 3D gaming (which is understandable) charge a yearly fee to enable 3D vision, I am fine with that even with ATI and tridef I had to pay yearly but there is no option for me to play in 3d with nvidia at all and Im regretting buying this card now.

Well maybe you should have checked if your monitors/TV are 3D Vision supported before buying the new GPU. You need to do an EDID override for those monitors to get them to work in 3D Vision. There's loads of info how to do it if you just google it.

Agreed I should have done research but I would never have thought that any company wouldn't allow 3d on 3d monitors/tv, Im sure anyone wanting to do 3d gaming would never guess that you wouldnt be able to do 3d on 3d monitors what would make anyone google it?

It is a ridiculous situation but Nvidia make royalties/license fees/whatever on all certified displays sold so its in their best interest to keep everything else locked out. Customer focused interests are at the very bottom of the pile just before paid taxes i think!

Yeah for sure, I don't even mind paying the price for a nvidia kit even though I dont need it, its just the fact that its not even possible with my monitors which are way better than anything in the supported monitor list. 1000 bucks for a gpu and get crapped on as I have not paid enough to enjoy 3D. 3D is the future of gaming, anyone that has played a decent 3D game like Dirt 3 (awesome on ati) will know that 3D is the future and if nvidia dont sort this out my next cards will without a doubt be ATI and it wont be long before others agree.

I don't know about your tv but a lot of TV's are supported by 3DTV Play and more is added all the time. If your TV is not supported you can contact Nvidia support and wait.

I'm guessing VG278H would work to some extent using HDMI 1.4a but that is hardly 1080p 60fps.
Tridef does not support HDMI framepacked on a Nvidia card.
I've had very little success with Tridef.
I have watched all kinds of 3D content on the mentioned monitors as well as used my PS3 in 3D with the later so they are definitelly 3D monitors.
Please agree that not all 3D monitors work with all computers with a clear division between Nvidia and ATI.

One thing you are right about is that my tv is in the supported tv list, I obviously couldn't get it to work as I am going through my pioneer home theater receiver which isnt in the supported receiver list zzz,anyways Im not too interested in gaming at 30fps on a tv due to the limitations of hdmi at 60hz, I could do 30fps with my 6970.

Neither of the monitors mentioned will work on ATI in 3D with 120hz shutter glasses.
ATI clearly require more intelligent monitors through either hdmi 1.4a or DVI.
Your monitor supports a lot of 3D modes so I have a hard time believing that you can't get tridef to work in one form or another.
