Far Cry 4 {3D Screenshots}
Made a lot of progress tonight: - Water reflections are forced to render in stereo and are positioned correctly (but there a likely to be more reflection shaders to find elsewhere in the game). - Environment map reflections are approximately fixed (horizontal puddles are fixed, but vertical reflections are not quite right). - Specular highlights are fixed (with a fudge factor - but it seems to work at any time of the day/night cycle). - Clipping on interior lights is fixed. - God ray fix no longer depends on the resolution. - The depth buffer filter I added to 3Dmigoto the other week came in handy again to stop part of the UI adjustment from messing up the enemy sniper rifle lasers :) There's still some work to go before this is ready for wider testing. I know there are several more variations of interior mask shaders to fix on different AA settings (plus the mask clips incorrectly, which isn't as serious but would be nice to fix), and I still need to check the list of broken effects Mike gave me.
Great work bud. It's awesome to see progress being made when Nvidia has sort of just given up on it. Thanks dude. Can't wait for the test release.

Here's an alpha release for wider testing: https://s3.amazonaws.com/DarkStarSword/3Dfix-Far+Cry+4-alpha-0.3-2015-03-09.zip Refer to the included 3DFix-README.txt for a list of what has been fixed and installation instructions - the main thing is to use the Max Payne 3 profile and check that you are using supported settings. Please let me know if you find something broken and where it is in the game. I've fixed just about every thing I'm aware of, but I haven't finished the game (and I haven't been to the Himalayas in 3D yet), so there's likely more to fix. If you find something broken be sure to report what graphics settings & driver profile you are using - ESPECIALLY ANTI-ALIASING as every second effect seems to use a different shader for each AA setting, so I could have easily missed some. I'm interested to hear from people with SLI what profiles works for them (in terms of functionality & performance) since I can't test that myself. In particular, does the Max Payne 3 profile work well for this game in SLI? How about the Far Cry 4 profile with StereoDX10Flags set to 0x00004000? Or are people still using a null profile with the Far Cry 3 SLI bits?

Ok, I played the Prologue and Act 1 and just have to say that this is a complete fix and needs to be put up on the HelixMod site ASAP. I couldn't find even a single problem and all shadows are perfect. Aiming (clicking right mouse button) removes the convergence so that aiming is perfect. Convergence settings are easily adjustable using F5/F6, and all cut-scenes are perfect. It's basically one of the best fixes (and games) I've ever played. Keep in mind that I'm only about 90 minutes in. The only minor issue I'm having is stuttering while moving fast, and sometimes when running. I guess it's loading more map or something since it's a huge open world. Generally getting smooth frame rates other wise. I never touched any settings. Running SLI 680's on Win 7. Anyways, a huge thanks for the fix! I'll report back if I find any problems.

Glad you're enjoying it :) I'm really happy with how the game is looking, but I am still finding more things to fix so it's not quite ready for the blog just yet - but will be soon :) Here's the latest update: https://s3.amazonaws.com/DarkStarSword/3Dfix-Far+Cry+4-alpha-0.4-2015-03-10.zip - Fixed water reflections when camera is tilted (e.g. when gliding) - Fixed soft shadows - Fixed placement of trees in the water reflections (some of them were floating in strange places). Still some minor issues with the wrong tree imposter being selected so sometimes the reflection of the tree trunks won't quite match up, but you'd probably never notice unless I told you. - Forced weapon previews in shop to mono to fix the background & stop them being displayed beyond infinity (only on 1920x1080 and 1280x720 for now) - Fixed various effects in Shangri-La (water caustics, reflections, halos, etc): Best. Thank you, this is great news. No sure about the first step in the install instructIons. How do I use the max Payne 3 profile? never had to do this before.

Does this change the game in 2D at all?? How do I revert back to the original fc4 profile if I decide to so? Thanks again.

Anyone know how to change the convergence override to a keyboard key instead of the Right mouse button?? You used to have to placed a different nvpl file with this for example: ;Example of keyboard configuration [OverrideSettings] Input=Keyboard Action=O Convergence=.01 ;Separation=10 To get it to work. This config settings file is different. Thanks
Also perfect timeing - just a day before hugh DLC release.
Thanks for the heads up - just bought the season pass.
Anyone know how to change the convergence override to a keyboard key instead of the Right mouse button??
We changed how input & overrides is handled in 3Dmigoto recently to be a lot more flexible (and OverrideSettings never really worked anyway). Check the [Key1] section and change the Key= line to whatever you want to use - the comment above that section documents valid key names. You can even change this while the game is running - just press F10 to reload the settings.
