NVidia is not working in some cases
  1 / 2
I use NVidia 7600 GT, AMD Athlon 64, 1,81GHz, 1GB RAM, motherboard A8N-E, Windows XP Home.
I tried ForceWare and same version of stereo driver (91.31 and 93.71). Both attempts were with same result. I use eDimensional glasses or anaglyph one.
Problem is that if I use game for instance IL Sturmovik there is no stereo effect when I toggle Ctrl T. If I tried OGL mode, it immediately crashes. It is similar with other game. (If I tried skiing game there appears one little movement of the scene whenever I toggled Ctrl T but nothing more).
However NVidia test application works perfect. The standalone application which was developed with Quest 3D and Blitz 3D also works pretty well.
Please could anybody give me any advice in this case?

Using a 7600GT here too and having not as many problems as yourself.

Every game thta works on other cards works on 7600GT aside from Oblivion, which does crash and reboots computer when stereo is toggled.

Try uninstalling all grafix and stereo drivers, bootng in safe mode and using a cleaning utility to remove all traces of the driver.

Then boot into normal mode, install forceware drivers, reboot, install stereo drivers, and hopefully it should now be working.

I have 7600GT PCIe card, Core2Duo.

My games freeze whenever I hit Ctrl-T to enable stereo.

I tried with 84.21 driver and 84.12 stereo driver.
Actually, with that, one older game did run in stereo, but had flickering
colors. My newer games (GTR2, for example) freeze the moment I
hit Ctrl-T.

RAGE, what drivers are you using?
Do you have PCIe interface for your 7600GT?

Thanks!

I wasnt aware of any 7600GTs without a PCIe interface.

I too am running c2d e6600, overclocked by 40%, 7600GT @ 600, 1500 and everything is rock solid.

Using the 93.71 drivers.

Thanks, Rage! I wasn't aware of any 7600GT PCIe, but thought I would mention it just in case.
I'll try those drivers out.

Also, can you please list the games for which your system works?

Thanks again!

Thanks,
I installed everything form the scratch two days ago (Including windows, nforce driver, graphic driver and respective version of stereo drivers). It means I am not sure if I repeat this procedure that it helps.
I little bit suspect if Windows Home Edition can not make problem or whether some latest update is not necessary.
I am curious that if I toggle Ctrl T for Sturmovik in DirectX mode that happen absolutely nothing. Game ignores it.

Are you absolutely certain you have all post processing effects set to OFF in all your games? Try an old game such as quake2 and see if it works.

RAGE, can you list the post processing effects you're talking about?

Antialiasing (turned off)
Shadows (I have it enabled in-game)
??
??

Do you force all 3 effects of
1. anti-aliasing
2. vertex shading
3. ???

to off in the driver stereo control panel?

Also, I am running in DirectX9. That should be ok, right?

Thanks.

Its nothing in the stereo driver controll pannel. It will be in the game.
Don't tick those options in the sdtereo control pannel, restore them t default and reboot.

Post processing effects in games include HDR, Blur, special lighting, slow motion effects, etc etc.

Some games allow you to turn them off, others don't, but if you are lucky, you can do it via their config ini files.

Check out our main forum for games:

http://forums.stereovision.net/viewforum.php?forum=5&4400

You should find alot of tweaks in there /hug.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Hi Rage,

I used driver cleaner pro to remove my drivers, installed 93.71 drivers and 93.71 stereo drivers.
I tested with the test application, and stereo looks good.
But when I went into GTR2 and tried it, the game froze when I enabled stereo.

I followed the link for game specifics, and others have said they use GTR2 fine with stereo.

Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks.

Sorry matey, I don't.

It could be a dual core issue that other people are having. Can you list your full system specs?

If you have intel or amd dual core, tell me your specs and ill dig out some info for you. If its intel, then we might be able to get something working. If its AMD, then apart from installing the dual core fix and dual core optimizer from AMD, and the windows XP tweak, there really isnt much that can be done about it.

Hi Rage, here are my specs...

Intel Core2Duo 6400
1 Gig Corsair value RAM (667 I think)

MB INTEL BOXDG965WHMKR G965 775
MEM 512Mx2|CORSAIR TWIN2X1024A-6400
VGA BFG 7600GT 256M BFGR76256GTOCE

Windows XP Home SP2

Augidy 2ZS, value

Those are my system specs, forgotten if I should provide any other info.

I have been getting corruption in my registry for my keyboard, so I did a complete reinstall of Windows last night. I don't know if it's associated with uninstalling and reinstalling NVIDIA drivers or what, but this is the second time it's happened in the last week.

I used driver cleaner pro in safe mode to uninstall nvidia drivers before installing 93.71 driver and stereo driver last night.

The test application works fine!

Anyway, yes I have a Core2Duo, so maybe there's hope for using that fix you alluded to?

Thanks, RAGE.

OK, first, install the winxp dual core patch:

http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=60416

Next, install the latest intel chipset drivers:

http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df...x?ProductID=816

Next, turn down all in game settings to the lowest possible they will go. Turn off FSAA and Anisotropic filtering.

Try running a few games now and see what happens.
