GUI for fixes?
So I was wondering if it would be technically feasible to create a GUI interface to apply fixes. First of all, I don't have much experience with 3D or with fixes posted in this forum atm. I'm only getting my 3D vision today normally. I was only browsing here to get some info about how to enable 3D in witcher 3. So maybe I'll post something stupid, maybe it's been discussed before. I think it would be quite interesting to create a GUI for the changes posted on this forum. It seems some people have been doing fixes for years on this forum, so these people should know what comes back often. Then when the scope is defined (What do we change? How do we change it?) we can define a way to do those things in a program. Then finally, we have to create a way to describe the fixes done and the game, and this way, the program can read the information about a game and the fixes, then apply them. Seems kinda simple, but I'm pretty sure it won't be. At all. And I guess I'll see that in the next few answers saying people already tried and it's so much work. But you never know, maybe nobody got the idea before (yeah I can dream :))

At present, the steps required are usually no more complex than extracting a zip, sometimes changing game settings. I'm not sure it's necessary.

Yep got basically the same answer from Zappologist on the other thread where I mentionned it first. I won't develop a glorified copy tool as I said in the other topic :) I would have deleted this post but I didn't see th option. Kinda embarassing actually :p

Perhaps, if nVidia truly cared, they would integrate the fixes automatically through Geforce Experience.

Well, I can add that as part of talking with NVidia about various problems, there are at least a few people in the 3D team there that would like to figure out some way to make it easier to find and install HelixMod fixes. We talked about the obvious spot of GFE, but apparently the GFE team is presently not able to help here. We are still talking about how this might work, because of the obvious problem that it's not just shaders being replaced, we also have active code running for a fix for aim overrides, presets, even the Helix Lua script. So, it's not a slam dunk, but still a possibility. I'm presently working on getting the 3Dmigoto code stable, because without it being reliable there is no way that they can accept any code we make.

That's good news Bo3b that at least they are interested in keeping the flame alive somewhat. Have they had any discussion with you regarding the current problems with the drivers. GTAV for example was advertised with official support yet 3d still seems to drop out quite often, and this is a disturbing trend with the latest games (DA:I, Witcher 3, Lords of the fallen, ect.) which to me seems to indicate a driver issue Not to mention the core utilization issues.

What would be huge from Nvidia, is if they would release the profile settings. If we knew what each setting did, then we could customize the assigned profile to fit the needs of the game. Instead of having to try multiple profiles before picking one that is presumably the best. It seems to me that if a profile nip was included with each fix. It could automatically import the altered settings each time the game is launched, then it wouldn't matter if Nvidia broke the profile or new drivers were installed. The nip would rewrite it to the needed settings for that particular game each time. I think Andrew Fear actually stated that they would and could release the settings.
Right now we are taking the same approach with 3D Vision profile like we did with SLI. Initially we profile all the games ourselves and require it in our drivers. Eventually with SLI, we allowed end users to select a "mode" to enable SLI and it generally worked well. We'll get there guys, just be patient!
quoted from https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/411942/3d-vision/prototype/post/2886921/#2886921

I am still unsure where to report this BUG in NVAPI....

Exactly, like you are doing it. It would be nice to fully understand each setting, so they could be used to our advantage.
