Those who are endlessly ranting about this problem are easily forgetting the fact that MANY games have the famous nVidia logo. Not to mention that many times there have been problems with ATI cards and games whose developers worked with nVidia.
I hate to burst your bubble, but even nVidia isn't a saint.
What happened with Deus Ex is something that could have happened for any other game. Just be happy that it's a rare occurrence, and the green brand is often way quicker than the red one in seizing developers and having the games optimized for nVidia card's owners. You are just lucky to be on the safest side of the problem.
p.s.: no, unfortunately I'm not a butthurt ATI fanboy who came here to rant. It's just that there are things that, sometimes, must be said.

Agreed. Deus ex signed up with AMD. This is same as a game like gears of war signing up with 360. Nvidia can not support this game for 3d(may even be illegal if part of amd's contract.) Only hope is for 3rd party solution.

Personally I'm happy about this kind of stuff. Competition is good for keeping things in balance. Imagine Intel and their possibly higher prices if it weren't for AMD competing in the CPU world.

I just noticed, but is it me or are they removing threads with relation to 3D Vision in the title? Can't find "Please add support for nVidia 3D Vision" or other newer ones...only the ones older than a few months still exist. Any of you guys having luck???

They are not bad, who is? They are releasing a game that is half done. Eidos stated that they support 3D without fine prints. It does not affect all users, but those who have a 3D capable setup which works on demo, and later find out that it does not work after actually buying the game. If Eidos is not to be blamed, than who is responsible? Those who pay for the game?
By native 3D, I hope that it means it works for all 3d setup. Right now, it is native 3D for AMD HD3D. All other setup requires a registry hack which may lead to data lost, and corruption of OS. Who is reasonable if a user makes a mistake and ended up with a broken OS? I know hacking games are illegal, but then why do user needs to hack the game's registry value if it is suppose to be NATIVE?
Asking for a feature in a forum is as good as QQ quietly. NOTHING will be done. In fact, the quote you had explained it, "The in-game stereoscopic 3D option is only intended for the game built-in stereoscopic 3D support which is only for AMD HD3D...". For any other solutions, FIY.

The most important quote is this one :
That is correct, at the moment, only AMD HD3D is supported.
I have not followed the Deus-ex pre-launch press announcements, that was not a game I was waiting for, so I did not pay close attention to it. However I do remember hearing AMD saying they were working with Eidos on Deus-Ex a while ago. So it isn't a last minute decision.
I am not sure exactly what they said, but if they just said they'd support 3D without fine print, it also doesn't mean it supports Nvidia 3D Vision. You can't even argue it's the de-facto standard on the PC because it has the majority of users and press coverage since it is a proprietary system.
Native 3D is a simple but precise term which means the game does the 3D internally. The game developers implemented inside their game engine some kind of system (dual-cam, reprojection, or other, it doesn't matter) to produce the stereoscopic pair of pictures. And that's about it. It does not mean anything regarding display support. The game can support only anaglyph for example, or only Nvidia 3d vision and nothing else, or only AMD HD3D and nothing else, or only Side by side and nothing else... it is still a native 3D app.
Having non-intended stuff working during the beta then becoming broken in the final happens very often. It's usually just a bug fix with unintended consequences. You do remember Avatar the game, Bioshock 2 and The Witcher 2 issues at launch, don't you ? These games were Nvidia 3D Vision ready ! Deus-Ex isn't 3d Vision ready, why in the world would they be responsible for your hack not working. Yes, Nvidia 3D Vision driver installed on your PC modifying the DirectX pipeline is a hack, and by the way hacking your property is fully legal in most of the world (in the US you even have the Fair-Use provisions of the copyright act to guarantee this right even on Intellectual Property)

You must not understand how the game business works.
AMD paid Square/Enix to have exclusive 3D rights for the game. Same as Microsoft paid Rockstar to have exclusive downloadable content for the Grand Theft Auto series. And you know what? Normally, they're always "timed". Meaning, just as Rockstar made the same "exclusive" content available to PS3 owners 6 months after being on XBox Live; Eidos/Square-Enix will probably release a patch that makes the game 3DVision capable in the next 3-6 months. It sucks, I know. But I do believe there will be a patch in the future that will make the game 3D Vision applicable

This comparison is not applicable.
Gears of War is owned by Microsoft studios, so of course you'll never see it on a PS3. Just as Naughty Dog is owned by Sony so you'll never see the Uncharted series on XBox. These are console exclusives designed to help sell each respective brands console.
Eidos/Square-Enix is a third party publisher. One of many who do 'timed' exclusivity deals on their games for certain platforms. Batman:AA had PS3 exclusive Joker maps. In 6 months you could buy the same on XBox Live. GTA IV had exclusive downloadable content only for XBox 360 for the first 6 months of the game's release. After that it was available on PS3
This is most likely the same kind of situation. AMD needs to push their 3D technology and needed a big game to do it with. They paid Eidos/Square-Enix and for all we know, that went right back into the game.
At some point, and I have no idea when, (maybe in 30-90 days or 6 months) but Eidos will release a patch that will provide true support for Nvidia 3DVision. As being a 3rd party publisher they don't want to lose potential sales. But it won't happen until the exclusivity contract runs out with AMD
But to say it won't happen at all, never, is letting your anger get the best of you and not thinking things through.
The dilemma for me is, Play the game now? Or wait for the inevitable patch that will add Nvidia 3D support? I'm gonna try some of it now, and see if it's worth waiting for or not.

I'd agree but I was able to get it at the discounted price now(or as much as i'm going to probably get in the next year) so I bought it now.
so, this game is amd supported, so even though i have a stereoscopic rig, i cant play it because im nvidia ? GREAT VENDOR COMPATIBILITY, GUYS
i dont know what they were thinking, because most people who have stereoscopic 3d have nvidia's kit, not amd, so it would have been wise to include support for BOTH before putting "STEREOSCOPIC 3D SUPPORT" on the box as a feature
anyway, since HD3D doesnt reply on the driver doing the 3d, but the game providing both left and right views, using a hack in the d3d api, nvidia could probably support it as well as their own hack in the d3d api

Personally I'm happy about this kind of stuff. Competition is good for keeping things in balance. Imagine Intel and their possibly higher prices if it weren't for AMD competing in the CPU world.

Agreed. Deus ex signed up with AMD. This is same as a game like gears of war signing up with 360. Nvidia can not support this game for 3d(may even be illegal if part of amd's contract.) Only hope is for 3rd party solution.

I'd agree but I was able to get it at the discounted price now(or as much as i'm going to probably get in the next year) so I bought it now.

i dont know what they were thinking, because most people who have stereoscopic 3d have nvidia's kit, not amd, so it would have been wise to include support for BOTH before putting "STEREOSCOPIC 3D SUPPORT" on the box as a feature
anyway, since HD3D doesnt reply on the driver doing the 3d, but the game providing both left and right views, using a hack in the d3d api, nvidia could probably support it as well as their own hack in the d3d api

The more noise people make there the better.
