If people can't understand (I don't think many don't) that you can only release what you make for yourself, i hope you have the strength to sort of politely ignore them (thats not aimed at anyone btw). When communicating by text, there's little way to understand if your, say dead tired or on the edge of patience, where if in person, the asker would understand just by the look on your face that you've done all you can. Perhaps there is a better way to "officially" designate the patches as being final or the fixer being done with them. It may suck having one issue ruin your experience from time to time, like the "big gun" issue in BL2 for me, but in the long run I think it would help more than hurt. I don't see this issue going away if not unless 3D Vision's decline takes it away...
I read some comments to Helifax and i understand the reaction. Like someone saying "As i said before,". When you say "As i said before", it seems like the only purpose for that is pointing out a mistake or flaw, or complaining that you must repeat yourself, at least IMO. I think the most people should realistically ask for is "can you give me a clue as to where I CAN try and figure this out myself"?
Makes me wonder how long it would take to learn the basics of programming to actually fix basic things.

So I just picked this up and Dark souls 3 and while after applying the fix DS works perfectly this game won't even start in 3d mode.
I made sure to carefully read the read me and apply all the recommended settings.
Is this a problem others have experienced? maybe I missed something stupid but I don't think so.
I've tipple checked all the settings in the read me and it should be correct. Am I missing something?
I am using the latest driver.
*Edit*
It's working in 10 but not 7, I'm just playing on a single screen but in SLI mode.
I have a feeling that maybe that windows 7 issue is happened to me but also in SLI as well. But I am not getting any out of memory error. I guess Ill try toggling the full screen option in 7 and see what occurs.
But otherwise unless anyone has an simple quick answer I will just play this one in 10

Strange, but is working perfectly fine under Windows 7 here (up-to-date) with SLI enabled and such.
Yes, stick with Windows 10:)
Currently I don't see any point in sticking with Windows 7 (I keep it around just for testing purposes) but I find things work way better in Windows 10 (SLI/Surround/Single GPU).
Maybe I forgot to update the wrapper version in the fix? I know there was a bug in Windows 7 that prevented the fix from starting, but I fixed that. Probably forgot to update the wrapper...hmm need to check;)
Thanks for letting me know.
Edit:
How do you find the fix ? :)

I actually have some issues preventing me from commiting to windows 10.
* I hate the fact it's a big piece of spyware and all the telemetry they use. I am not "Conspiracy theorist" but it makes me a bit uncomfortable
* I actually have a really annoying problem where a CMD prompt will occasionally flash on the screen stealing focus from my games, and minimizing them since I play certain titles competitive and it leads me to have lost a match or two which really annoys me. All troubleshooting on this issue has lead nowhere and I can't seem to isolate what process is doing this and when I try a SFC scan it reports issues but says was unable to fix them. No problems of this nature in 7 at all
* My sound card driver no longer works in Dolby surround in 10. (option no longer there)
* I also use this machine for music production and have some issues in 10 here with my audio interface and drivers which haven't been updated yet.
* some of my fan profiles go haywire with my Asus motherboard software and it's a known issue.
But the CMD problem is the deal breaker for me at this point.
As for the fix. Really good work, thank you. I get a solid 120fps on max settings so I can't complain. The only thing I have noticed is some of those lights (little dots) are appearing at screen depth but it's honestly nothing I am too concerned about.
And the dark souls one is pretty much perfect from what I can see so I really can't wait to sync my teeth into that one.
I have just returned from Russia and recovering a little, but in the next couple of weeks I intend to take a look through your Steam wish list ;)

Awesome necropants!
Thanks for the feedback.
I will try to see what is going on on Windows 7:)
Those little dots are like lens flares or lens dust? If so, those are 2D on purpose, as they are supposed to be at screen depth (the monitor acts as a lens) ;)
Or maybe you are referring to the yellow tiny dots on some bodies/ organic objects, like corpses? Like specularity?

Thanks, I think I fixed it. (in 7)
Uninstalled the fix and reapplying it, and then toggling the full screen on and off in the .ini appears to have done the trick.
The issue I was seeing with thew lights is no longer there.
It's not perfect I do see the ambient occlusion off at times and some of the depth not quite right on some effects, but I assume this is just how it is reading your notes and frustrations =)
*Edit*
Ok something definitely funny is going on.
So I make the adjustments to check my surround performance, and put my screens in surround mode and I notice although the max I can set the game is 720p in surround all my previous problems practically disappeared!
So while still in surround screen mode I turn back the aspect ratio and set the game to 1080p on a single screen within the game, and BANG. perfect 3d vision.
Is 720p the max you can set the game in surround? Kinda wierd.

I had no issues selecting Surround up to 5760x1080. What you need to do though is to select a different Aspect Ratio. And ofc, you need flawless widescreen for the game to work in Surround Aspects;)
The 3D should be perfect as DS3. The same light clipping should appear here as in DS3 (to some extent). Is basically the exact same issue in both game engines that make the 2D Rect clip in 3D Space;)
Don't know about the other issues, but kinda sounds like an overlay is trying to hook the game as well (Steam, MSI, etc). So try and see if you have any other programs that have overlays opened and close them?

Ok this is weird then. Cause with the aspect ratio options available I still don't get anything over 720p.
Also now I see what its actually supposed to look like there was something seriously wrong with things for me before.
DS3 fix is almost perfect and I see now the clipping issues you are talking about exist but are extremely minor to what I was experiencing in doom.
It seems this is a connection with me running a three screen surround setup but playing alot of games in single screen anyway in SLI. I have seen this kind of thing happen a fair bit in 3dmigoto fixes.
Once I enabled surround and fired up the game once all the rendering problems with certain elements at the wrong depth, went away. Then flicking back to single screen it was fine.
I going to play a bit disable surround and test and see if I can get it to fail again.

Yeah, definitely sounds strange what is happening there and I don't have any idea what might cause it.
Is strange that you don't get any other Surround resolution except 720p (Maybe a driver reinstall will solve that issue?) I remember for me it was a weird aspect ration 25:10 or something around there that actually had the 5820x1080 resolution (the Bezel corrected one). The normal 5760x1080 I couldn't find in the list.
The clipping is directly influenced by the convergence value. You will see that if you push the convergence down the clipping will be better or almost go away;) The default value (the fix comes with ) should be a good equilibrium;)

helifax - great work with Doom. Would it be possible to include a Top/Bottom format option, in addition to the Side by Side format currently being used? For interlaced displays (like passive LG 4K 3D TVs), SBS creates another display resolution loss, beyond the resolution lost to interlace format. An OpenGL wrapper using Top/Bottom format would introduce no additional resolution loss for these interlaced displays, however. Thanks for your MANY contributions to this 3D community, also.

Hi whyme466,
Currently the wrapper doesn't have this option. SBS format is actually a side-effect of the 3D vision driver not initialising the hardware if the Nvidia profile "magic flag" is not set:)
There is a plan to expand the wrapper to support SBS/Top-Bottom in the future though;) But, I cannot say when I will get around to do it:)
