3D Vision on laptop
I have a desktop computer with a regular LCD dsplay, and 3D Vision works in red-green mode, just need red-green glasses.
But on a laptop I recently bought, Acer 4741G with Geforce GT540M and Optimus, 3D Vision does not work and says "Primary display's adapter does not support 3D Vision".
I searched around and find out someone said 3D Vision on laptop would only work with a 3D display.
I have two questions:
Does this mean there's no way to get 3D Vision on laptop to work in red-green mode which doesn't require a 3D display just like desktop?
And if I connect my laptop to a 3D TV then will it function correctly?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

This one should help you.

By the way: You will need Red/Cyan-Glasses - not Red/Green. /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Thank you for pointing me that thread, now I see what's going on. So Nvidia indeed disabled Red/Cyan mode on laptop for reasons we don't know.

3D vision would not work through laptop to 3D TV. You can get a laptop with 3d screen. I wouldnt recommend it. TBH laptops A. Cant use compatible videocard(I believe.) B. You will need like one an amazing laptop to run 3d games well. Basically if you can run a game in 60fps in 3d vision u'll get 30.

Yes.
But as you can see in my Thread, they didn't completely disable that.
If you connect a HDTV to your laptop or building one of this "Display-Dummys" you will be able to use the 3D-Vision-Discover-Mode again. It was working fine on my Dell XPS M1730.

What has 3D-Vision to do with DX11?

You can download DX11 simply by downloading the latest DirectX from Microsoft.
You will need Vista or Win7 for DX11. XP is not supported.
But not all GPU's support all DX11-Stuff (Tesselation for example).
DX11 is fully supported by 4xxM models and newer ones.
But this all has nothing to do with 3D-Vision or 3D-Vision-Discover(Red/Cyan Anaglyph).
