Anyone Else Notice Steam's New 'No Questions Asked' Return Policy for Games?
Basically you have up to 14 days to request a refund AND you can't have logged over 2 hours of playtime, not too shabby ... now if only they'd give me giftable copies of the games/things I already own in bundles. :)

Sad thing is that you can easily log over two hours trying to get a game to run, lol. Did you see the Abuse clause? You can return a game and repurchase it on sale. I wonder how long the process takes. Abuse Refunds are designed to remove the risk from purchasing titles on Steam—not as a way to get free games. If it appears to us that you are abusing refunds, we may stop offering them to you. We do not consider it abuse to request a refund on a title that was purchased just before a sale and then immediately rebuying that title for the sale price. http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds?snr=1_41_4__42

Lol ... I was thinking the same thing, there's been many times I've spent countless hours ironing out an issue ... I wonder if they'd be ok with me returning it, rebuying it, returning it, rebuying it, returning it, rebuying it, and so on and so forth until I get it going? I never really even thought about the getting free games aspect of it ... they should just put a price protection guarantee in place. I'd be fine with it even if it was just Steam Wallet funds.

You can request a refund for nearly any purchase on Steam—for any reason. Maybe your PC doesn't meet the hardware requirements; maybe you bought a game by mistake; maybe you played the title for an hour and just didn't like it. It doesn't matter. Valve will, upon request via help.steampowered.com, issue a refund for any reason, if the request is made within fourteen days of purchase, and the title has been played for less than two hours. There are more details below, but even if you fall outside of the refund rules we’ve described, you can ask for a refund anyway and we’ll take a look. You will be issued a full refund of your purchase within a week of approval. You will receive the refund in Steam Wallet funds or through the same payment method you used to make the purchase. If, for any reason, Steam is unable to issue a refund via your initial payment method, your Steam Wallet will be credited the full amount. (Some payment methods available through Steam in your country may not support refunding a purchase back to the original payment method. Click here for a full list.) Seems pretty consumer friendly. What still sucks is that if a service like GameSpy decides cease and desist, you can be screwed. What happens if UPlay goes bye bye?
Lol ... I was thinking the same thing, there's been many times I've spent countless hours ironing out an issue ...
Yah, I bought Peter Jackson's King Kong yesterday from Amazon. It's DRM free and $5.99 on sale atm. (is hardly ever on sale) http://www.amazon.com/Peter-Jacksons-King-Kong-Official-Movie/dp/B0009WH7DM Dinosaurs, King Kong and Jack Black, woot. Unfortunately, while it looks like the 3D will be pretty good, the game runs at half speed for some reason. At least it does on my rig. I tried for hours yesterday, installing different drivers, compatibility mode, administrative privileges, registry edits, setting affinity, etc, etc...with no luck https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2j3y_ePua7Q

My luck, they'll update something to keep track of it in offline mode too. :)

At least there's a bit of warning, unlike with IndieVania where I didn't know and really lost everything.

Maybe they are just pretending Like GOG did. Dear GOG users, We have recently had to give serious thought to whether we could really keep GOG.com the way it is. We’ve debated on it for quite some time and, unfortunately, we’ve decided that GOG.com simply cannot remain in its current form. We’re very grateful for all support we’ve received from all of you in the past two years. Working on GOG.com was a great adventure for all of us and an unforgettable journey to the past, through the long and wonderful history of PC gaming. This doesn’t mean the idea behind GOG.com is gone forever. We’re closing down the service and putting this era behind us as new challenges await. On a technical note, this week we’ll put in place a solution to allow everyone to re-download their games. Stay tuned to this page and follow us on Twitter and Facebook for updates. All the best, GOG.com Team What idiot thought this was a good idea?

It was back in Sept 2010, they shut down for a few days to revamp the sight.
