Very quick question What display mode does the 3D Vision setup wizard use?
Hi,

Can anyone tell me what screen mode (i.e. 1920*1080@120Hz etc) the 3D Vision Setup Wizard goes into when you first run it? Currently it's switching my CRT off since it's launching into a mode that isn't supported by my screen. If I know resolution/refresh rate it's trying to use, at least I can try to fix it by adding a custom resolution with the right timing.

I never had this problem before. Dunno if it's something to do with the 1.45 drivers. I did just have to reinstall Win7-64, and haven't been able to get 3D Vision working since then, but I'm also trying newer drivers than I've used before.

Many thanks.

I don't think just creating a custom resolution will work. When it launches it looks at the device to see what resolution is supported, not what it is set at. I have the Acer H5360 and it's EDID is borked. Windows only identifies it as a Generic Non Plug and Play monitor. even with a custom res set to 1280 X 720 at 120 Hz, the 3D Wizard will not work until I override the EDID in Device Manager so the Windows reports the H5360.

As long as your monitor supports the 3D Vision requirements there really should be no problem, but problems do exist. I have only been using 3D for a short while now. My monitor recommended 3D resolution is 1920x1080 120Hz. Whenever i update drivers i allways unplug the emitter before a fresh install of graphics driver and 3d driver. The first thing i do is go into nvidia control panel and set my monitor resolution and refresh rate and then do the 3d setup wizard which will ask you to plug in your emitter etc etc.

Thanks for the replies /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I did manage to complete the 3D Vision setup wizard by running it on my 60 Hz LCD (I can remember which pictures to click on in the medical tests), and then switching from my 60Hz LCD to my CRT (Dell P1130). If I then run the wizard again afterwards though on the CRT, it still switches off, so it's still switching to a mode the CRT can't do for some reason. I also notice the list of resolutions is really small now, like the drivers aren't reading the EDID from the monitor at all. I've added 1600*1200@100 Hz and 1280*960@100Hz, but the wizard doesn's use either of those resolutions.

3D should work though now I've got the wizard to complete, just need to charge the glasses.

I still don't really understand what's going on though, I never had this issue before.

Actually the problem is completely solved with the latest beta drivers, back to having lots of resolutions available and back to being able to run the setup wizard on my CRT.

Woohoo! /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
