What's your favorite game in 3D?
  27 / 35
I don't think I've contributed to this list yet, so here's how I would rate the games I own and tried in 3D Vision. I would also highly recommend an XBox 360 controller for added immersiveness, as many of these games flawlessly support rumble, key mapping, and on-screen contextual visual cues on the PC versions. Games that support 360 controller will have (XBC) next to their names. Some 1st/3rd person shooters have controller support, but kb/mouse have their advantages there:

Amazing - showcase titles to show your friends and relatives in 3D Vision. Very few problems, usually perfect out of the box or excellent with a few tweaks or setting changes. May have a few assets in 2D, or slight problems like shadows, but no disturbing problems like post-process halos or objects rendered at incorrect depths in S3D.

Good - worth playing in 3D Vision always, but maybe not worth showing off. Many of these titles could be showcase titles but limit convergence settings. Some have more serious issues with 2D assets or object rendered at screen depth that prevent them from being outstanding in S3D:

Worth a look - games that have good buzz that I own, but have not personally played in 3D extensively. I just haven't had enough interest in going back to play some of these games in S3D or the 3D effect wasn't compelling enough for me to continue playing through them, but they are all worth a look if you own them:

Supreme Commander 1,2

Half Life 2 and most mods
S3D Wishlist - Great Games that deserve better 3D Vision support. These are probably the best of the worst when it comes to S3D support. I'd play through them again if the devs fixed S3D, but I'm not holding my breath for most of them:

Dead Space 2 (XBC)

Deus Ex Human Revolution (XBC)

Warhammer 40k Space Marine (XBC)

Crysis 1, Warhead (XBC)

The Last Remnant (XBC)

X-Men Wolverine (XBC)
This list only includes games I personally own, I don't own all games ever made so obviously some will be missing. There may be a few more that I missed in my collection, but I was mainly going through my Games Explorer, Steam and Origin games lists. There's certainly more games out there and some may not agree with some of the selections and their placement but these are how I place them in regard to best 3D Vision experience.

Search for ME2 in this forum. Or go to solutiongamings webby. There is a way to remove the lense flare which makes it much easier to play. People like Tritosine have fixed aspects of the game. It becomes very playable. :)

When i tried the DDD drivers with ME2, the lens flares and the selection rectangles were were both brought closer together to the point where i thought they were fine. This was only with limited testing and a long time ago, so take that with a grain of salt.

Very nice list chiz, mostly I agree with you, however I could get xmen wolverine to be almost 3d eady by disabling shadows if I remember well, have a look.

I also agree with Zloth, Witcher 2 is right now (probably until Batman AC arrives) the showcase game for 3d, the kind of graphics only PC can do right now, perfect 3d without issues, and overall and amazing game from beginning to the end, everyone who likes 3d needs to get this game.

    Great list chiz

With some anomalies though: Sup Com and Bioshocks? 2D crosshair and unit icons seriously flaw these games. If you can tolorate those 2D HUD elements (I cannot) shove World in Conflict onto that list. WiCs 3D blows Sup Com away. Fantastic depth, first game I tried 100% depth on and never looked back. Quality game too.

Pesky 2D unit icons swimming around the screen!

Thanks guys, glad you appreciated my list.

@birthright - I haven't picked up Witcher 2 yet or it would be on there for sure, I really should have awhile ago ($30 on Steam a few times now) as I did enjoy the first one. I've heard you guys raving about the 2.0 updates for 3D Vision and definitely need to check it out, just have so many games I have stockpiled and need to play through. And now BF3 on top of that. I will also check out X-Men Wolverine again with shadows off, pretty sure I tried it before with no tweaks and got some nasty UE3 halos and just alt-f4'd it. Thanks for the tip.

@andysonofbob - Yeah I haven't tried the Bioshocks extensively. I know Bioshock 2 had some issues back and forth with 3D Vision Ready-ness. I'm pretty sure the 1st looked pretty good though without too many problems. I never liked those games enough to play through them. Sup Com's 2D unit icons do get messy though I agree, but with low depth, high convergence its not too bad. I will check out WiC too, definitely a nice title and I agree its graphics engine is much nicer than Supcom overall, so if it translates to 3D it should be great.

What? Tomb Raider: Underworld did not make the list?

I've been rotating the following games (in no order):

    1. Tomb Raider: Underworld
    2. Crysis2
    3. Alice: The madness returns
    4. Batman AA

Tomb Raider, Alice and Batman looked even better once I upped the depth to %50 and adjusted the convergence. Alice is likely the most colorful, Tomb Raider has the most OoS effects, Batman and Crysis2 just look real good. (extra credit to Tomb Raider and Crysis2 for many brightly lit outdoor scenes)

Quake III Arena - The Longest Yard level, of course. The laser sight is located on your target in the distance, just like in real life, only better because everything is in crystal clear focus and at over 600 FPS and rockets flying everywhere, and set the rail-gun trail time to about 1000 so you see 3D laserbeams everywhere, its definitely the best in 3d ever. I gotta post this one on facebook / 80063r

Can u link some screen shots? And how can I play Q3 in 3D with Gtx295 in Win 7???

Alice: Madness Returns was the first 3D game that fully made 3D worth buying to me. There is a tangible difference in how you play the game in 3D, and a lot less missing the platform and falling into a puff of butterflies.

I haven't seen Overlord in the list anywhere. The game is pretty lame, but the 3D graphics are phenomenal. 3rd person view and the scroll and zoom are simply amazing. It performs like it was designed from the ground up as a 3D game. Again, the game itself isn't all that great, but I use it as a showcase. Get the character in a room with objects around the perimeter and watch your 'guest' duck when you scroll around in a circle!
