Just Cause 2 with GTX480 SLI Benchmark on Concrete Jungle
  1 / 2
Using my GTX480s SLI on Just Cause 2 Benchmark Concrete Jungle with 3d Vision I'm getting a score of just 25.40fps. If I disable it I get 20.94fps. Everything is on high/very high but post process is off and SSAO is set to low. AA is only set to 2x. Surely with 2 GTX480s I should do better than that? Could anyone do the same benchmark with 3d vision and either 1 or 2 480s and let me know their score please?

I always run legit copies of games, I don't want companies to stop making games for us! I hate piracy and all those that do it but that's another topic.
I have the game running through steam and that automatically keeps the game updated. What benchmarks do you get and what hardware are you running?

I had everything on highest with my 9600GT Green Edition, and I got about 10 - 15 FPS... But that sounds wierd... Try to change the settings in the nvidia control panel from Quality to Performance.

Can someone please send a link where I can download this patch that fixes SLI problems with this game. I'm getting a lot of crashes playing JC2 and I use 2x GTX 280 in SLI. The most comon bug I get all the time in this game is that game's freezes but sound continues. It's very annoying and it happens very randomly, I can play 3 hours and not have a single issue, but I can also play for about half a hour and have 3 crashes. I'm loving to play this game, but the crashes are killing me.

Glad to hear you properly support the industry, /thumbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thumbsup:' />

About the patch, if its registerd to steam which i think all copies have to be ? it should already be fully upto date.

So i'd gues its a issue either with your drivers or the game or your cards?

Im running 8800GTX sli btw, and the main improvement in the patch was to spread the load of the CUDA water feature across both gpu's before it was loaded onto just 1. Mainly Due to the other improvements i can now run the game on maximum settings (minus cuda water effects) @ 1920x1080 and get 30fps+ (in gameplay) B) and before hand i had to run medium settings and only got 30+fps. :mellow:

The fact that your game crashes regualry also points to a game/driver issue i'd gues. Not that this helps much lol.

I also have a issue in this game where my grafics software will just crash causing the screen to go all screwd up /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':confused:' /> only seems to happen in the desert area tho.... :mellow:

i should also point out that i think by the time i got this game the patch was shipped with it, i got the lower fps in the demo. he is the fix list,

* Added benchmark (available from the main menu)
* Localization fixes.
* New MSAA options added.
* Problem with CUDA water while using SLI configurations fixed.
* SSAO intensity tweaked.
* Bokeh option not shown when it isn't supported.
* Helicopter controls functional when re-entering a spinning helicopter in mid-air.
* Improved default video card selection in multi-GPU systems.

Added comandline options:

* Improved default video card selection in multi-GPU systems (override with command line option /dxadapter=)
* Framerate cap command line option (/frameratecap=, default: disabled)
* SwapChain buffer count command line option (/dxbuffers=, default: 1)
* FOV factor command line option (/fovfactor=, typical values 1.0 - 2.0)

My version is non steam version so I'm not sure if the patch is already installed. I know the game runs through Steam anyway.

I see in the web some files that are 18 mb that says Just Cause 2 patch.exe but I'm trying to download it but most of those websites needs registration with credit card and I won't do that. So I'm looking for this patch in Torrent and so I don't need any BS registration in order to download it.

You never had this weird crash playing Just Cause 2 where just the image crashes but the sound continues??? It's very annoying and most of the times it happens during a mission and it sucks to have to play a game and pray to save your progress before the crash, otherwise I have to restart the mission all again not because I was killed, but due to freaking bug.

I'm using drivers 1.25 and I had the same issues with driver 1.23. I also had this crash playing the Demo version, but I unistalled it after I got the full game.

I see benchmark options in the game menu, so maybe the patch was already installed. I also see the bokeh filter option which is on.
I get a 30fps average with all settings maximized, 1680 x 1050, AA and SSAO are Off. Game is playable and sometimes there are some hick ups, but it depends on the actual scene, what is really annoying are the random crashes where sound continues.

I'll try to run the game as administrator and see if it helps.

I get crappy performance with that concrete benchmark with the system in my signature so I know it's an issue with the game or drivers. I have to add I run with all the options maxed with the exception of not using motion blur. The game itself runs pretty smooth though.

From what i can gather CD1.25 is not ment for the GTX480, you are to my knowledge.... ment to download the seperate drivers manualy.

"Note: If you are a GeForce GTX 480/470 owner and are trying to enable 3D Vision, please download the 197.41 GeForce graphics and 3D Vision drivers."

Go into your Nvidia control panel then help->SystemInformation and check that your using Geforce driver 197.41,

197.45 ( the latest ) I dont think properly supports the 470 or 480 yet

Try to turn off the "motion blur" from the settings. This should get the SLI working with JC2. Try and see if that helps you.
I run my 480s in SLI-mode with JC2 and I'm getting good framerates.

This is run on the streamversion of the game with the latest drivers installed.
