Little Nightmares

Third version of the fix (yeah, I have skipped the second because I wanted to finish the game): https://s3.amazonaws.com/masterotaku/Little+Nightmares/Little_Nightmares_3D_Vision_fix_WIP_3.7z This time I fixed another lighting shader that appears for a split second when some lights are almost out of the view. I have also half-fixed (so still pretty broken) LOTS of more decals issues. I don't know how to properly fix them yet. In some of them, I have found a slightly better formula, by copying part of another shader. I don't know if I'll be able to fix it completely. Volunteers are free to take the fix and try to fix the decals (use Notepad++ to find the keyword "decal" in all files, because I have given names to all shaders). If after some time no one did... I guess that I'll have to release it on the blog as is, if I don't find a solution. More screenshots: Edit: oh, I forgot to mention that now there are some convergence profiles in F1. Edit 2: also, for those unaware, the fix has to be extracted in the "Little Nightmares\Atlas\Binaries\Win64" folder.

Hey masterotaku thanks for the fix. The game is great. I'm having a crash at the start everytime I remove the ";" to play in SBS mode. GOG version.
I'm having a crash at the start everytime I remove the ";" to play in SBS mode. GOG version.
You're right. The game crashes for me too when I uncomment that line (using and not using GOG Galaxy). I don't know how to fix that, or if it's an UE4 problem or a 3Dmigoto problem. You're right. The game crashes for me too when I uncomment that line (using and not using GOG Galaxy). I don't know how to fix that, or if it's an UE4 problem or a 3Dmigoto problem. I made 3Dmigoto generate a log file, but it seems correct:

Hi masterotaku! I don't see this thread until now (link in my post)
But some shaders will need to be loaded in ASM form, because when dumped they look different and there are some missing shadows (it's like they vanish after alt+tabbing to the game, in a smooth way in 0.2s)
Yes, shadows/lights (that particular pattern) need to be fixed always in asm...even if you ear the beep (ok one) sound...i think there is something wrong with the decompiler Now i see you have issues with decals....there is another pattern for those decals and sometimes a little tricky (need change the xyz order). I will send you a PM tomorrow with the fix i made (i will be out all day, only cell phone access), include: - Decals fix - Lights shafts - Water ripples and water reflections - Shadows and lights - Fog and smoke position - Also made a DOF toggle - also disable those little spot shadows in the character....not even waste time trying fixing, really not noticeable. BTW, this game is amazing.....one of my favorities this year with "What Remains of Edith Finch". This 2 games looks really nice...UE4 rocks!
Hi masterotaku!

I don't see this thread until now (link in my post)

masterotaku said:But some shaders will need to be loaded in ASM form, because when dumped they look different and there are some missing shadows (it's like they vanish after alt+tabbing to the game, in a smooth way in 0.2s)

Yes, shadows/lights (that particular pattern) need to be fixed always in asm...even if you ear the beep (ok one) sound...i think there is something wrong with the decompiler

Now i see you have issues with decals....there is another pattern for those decals and sometimes a little tricky (need change the xyz order). I will send you a PM tomorrow with the fix i made (i will be out all day, only cell phone access), include:
- Decals fix
- Lights shafts
- Water ripples and water reflections
- Shadows and lights
- Fog and smoke position
- Also made a DOF toggle
- also disable those little spot shadows in the character....not even waste time trying fixing, really not noticeable.

BTW, this game is amazing.....one of my favorities this year with "What Remains of Edith Finch".
This 2 games looks really nice...UE4 rocks!

Thanks for the help, DHR. Haha, even a depth of field toggle like I did (now I feel that my work in the fix was somewhat useless, but it was a good practice for ASM and I needed it to play the game yesterday anyway). So what do we do? Your fix is more complete and perfect, and I think it's the fix that should be published. But you want donations for that and my work is halfway done.

Donations definitely would help me get game sooner instead of waiting for a super cheapskate price. If you have truble with it, tell me. I don't know if it's as simple as having an account and someone knowing the email address.

I receive some comment that using SBS/TaB Mode with this game (and also in another UE4 game) produce a Crash/Fatal error. Both users have win10 installed and i think this is a win10 issue. Can someone test (that have win10) try to enable TaB/SBS mode in this game? At least in win7 i don't have a problem using TaB Mode. If the crash happens probably uncommenting this line:
;allow_create_device=2
To
allow_create_device=2
will work.

Thanks zig11727 for testing! I was correct...is a win10 issue. Can you try commenting this line at the end of the ini, like this:
;vs-t125 = StereoParams ;ps-t125 = StereoParams ;vs-t120 = IniParams ;ps-t120 = IniParams
PS: Fatal error...hope no ones dying in the process...jaja....microsoft and his messages.

I managed to solve the problem using a older version of 3dmigoto dll. More precisely the 1.2.34 version. I tried that version because it's the version i'm using in dark souls 3, which sbs/tab feature is working pretty fine. I'm hearing some beeps when the game starts but other than that the 3d is working flawless.

Great that works mrbluesguy! definitely there is something in win10 that produce that crash...Fortunately, 3Dmigoto have a lot of options and settings to play with. At least now we know how to set the d3dx.ini to fix this. In win7 is not necessary.

Interesting result from testing. Those lines were added in the 1.2.44 version of 3Dmigoto, and it sounds like they cause trouble with Win10 for SBS mode. They should be benign, I cannot explain why they'd have a negative effect. Nevertheless, for next build, I'll comment them out by default. They are needed for some specific games, but not for all. Can someone else confirm that commenting out the: ;vs-t125 = StereoParams ;ps-t125 = StereoParams ;vs-t120 = IniParams ;ps-t120 = IniParams Solved a Win10 crash for them?
