The reference is that the nvidia emitter is necessary to access 3DTV Play if you have not purchased an activation license from nvidia. If 3DTV Play worked fine and now all you did was change TVs, sounds like the activation detected a different TV and this caused 3DTV Play to stop working.

i did uninstall it on my old tv as i was having problems with the witcher
now that i have completed the witcher i wanted to reinstall it but it does not work on new tv
does it make a difference if my pc is not plugged into HDMI 1

No. You traded your checkerboard TV for a non-checkerboard TV so there is no fix.

can you please get off your checkerboard horse.
I am well aware that the 2011 model has lost the checkerboard format but i did not even use the checkerboard format when i had the 2010 model.
I was happy with the 720p at 60hz.
the fact that i have a 2011 model is irrelevant to my issue - 3dtvplay clearly can work with TV;s that do not support checkerboard format.
also as far as i was aware full 3D requires 1080P per eye which i thought checkerboard could not do anyway
