DSR with 3DTV Play
  4 / 4
Ok I've read through this and another thread, but I'm still a little unsure what exactly to do in my particular case. I have a 1280x800@120hz projector that gives the red warning about running unsuported resolutions in 3D. I got around that with a 720p edid override but would ultimately like to downsample either 1080p or 1440p and have it run at the native 800p 120hz resolution. Is this possible through hdmi, and if not, can I at least get it to work at 720p 120hz? Thanks.

What seems to be the problem stopping you from doing it?

Hope someone can help me with my actual 3dtvplay setup and DSR. I have an "Acer H6510BD" Projector connected to a GTX970 via HDMI. In 3D mode the projector switch to a 1280x1470x60hz (1920x2205x24hz) resolution. In games i use 1280x720 and 3d works in the above res. It is possible to make DSR with this setup? Have tried different EDID overrides but either there is no 3dtvplay option, or the game dont switch to the 1280x1470 and stay in 1280x720 with no 3d. Also no succes experementing with CRU. Maybe someone have the same projector with the same problmes or any idea. Thanks!

I'm not certain, but I think you can upload it by renaming the file to JPS, then after someone copies it, they rename it back to .inf. A JPS file can only be uploaded to a post that's already made via the edit option for that post. You can not upload it while typing a reply, it has to be an existing post. Edit: name it jpg

You can add attachments to your comments/replies after they're posted by hovering over the the post and clicking on the paperclip icon in the upper-right hand corner, the attachment can take awhile to appear after it's scanned... if it does at all, it can be a b*tch at times... :)

I managed to get this working with just CRU (latest version 1.3). I suspect one reason the EDID mod doesn't work is because it changes it sufficiently that the 3DTV Play software no longer reecognises the connected display as a verified device. But this method worked for me perfectly: Step 1 Under detailed resolutions, delete the 1080p resolution. You can also try copying the 720p data to the 1080p data (making a duplicate) then deleting the 720p data as this may set the "native" resolution of the TV. Step 2 Go into the CEA data under extension blocks. Go into TV resolutions. Delete all the 1080p/1080i TV resolutions. Save it as a 3DTV.bin or something for later. Exit CRU and use the restart programme. Enable 3D and DSR if necessary - I used 2.25 and 4.00 to get 1080p and 1440p respectively. Worked for me. Games look pretty good at 1080p DSR - not as good as native of course, but on a TV from some metres away, pretty good and much better than 720p. Now if only CRU allowed some command line method to one click enable/disable this mod that would be superb. Maybe it does but I cannot find it.
