that's just a DVI-D to hdm.
It appears to be a single link dvi connection without the analog sync pins.
the Dual Link DVI cables need to explicitly state so.

120Hz over HDMI don't work. The standard 19pin-HDMI is only Single-Link compatible.

Dual-Link needs additional data-wires that are missing in the HDMI-connector.

The ViewSonic can use the VGA port for 120Hz too, unlike the Acer so go ahead and try it ;)

did you try lowering the resolution to see if you have other options of refresh rate?

Yes. It only offers 56 - 75 hz /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />

Can it be because of drivers? I have got newest drivers to my graphic card (nvidia GeForce 9700m) and downloaded all softwares (Nvidia 3D Vision).

Try adding a custom resolution of 1680x1050 @ 100/120Hz in the Nvidia Control Panel.

Somehow I got lot of 100 and 120hz refresh rates. But always when I choose one of them, it automatically change it to the 75 o.O
