Waiting for tonight's work in progress fix, if DarkStarSword allows me to upload it with an unreleased 3Dmigoto version :). If he doesn't, then wait until the next 3Dmigoto version is released.
On that note the one problem in CM is the depth can change randomly to 2D for the whole scene. particularly when you are close to certain geometry. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
I had that in AC: Origins whenever I looked at a dust cloud, and when I reported that in the CMU thread I was told that using AA was the cause. So yeah, if that's also the culprit here unless they eventually provide a way to turn off AA then I guess you're kinda stuck with it (not something I could live with, abrupt 3D to 2D conversions are too painful and distracting).

Still no word from DarkStarSword, so let's wait for tomorrow. Anyway, I was dealing with some crashing issues. The same ones as RE7 and RE2.
Lock-on and similar HUD elements have now proper depth, thanks to the game having it there waiting for me to unlock it :p.
Visually, it now looks like RE2: everything apparently fixed except for particles, because of crashing issues. And thankfully, this game has a much smaller quantity of shaders to fix. They don't change when I modify settings.

The fix (WIP) is here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/masterotaku/Devil+May+Cry+5/Devil_May_Cry_5_3D_Vision_fix.7z
INSTRUCTIONS. DON'T SKIP THIS STEP:
- In the game folder, open "dmc5config.ini". And set these options in the "[Render]" block:
PCTargetAPIFallback=Enable
Capability=DirectX12
TargetPlatform=DirectX11
UseVendorExtention=Disable
UseOptimizeShader=Enable
The "UseVendorExtention" line didn't exist for me. Create it. It avoids a bug in cutscenes that made them black (it happens without 3Dmigoto, but only if 3D Vision is enabled in the control panel).
- Don't use motion blur.
- Screen space reflections are rarely used, and in a minimalistic way. To be perfect, they need 100% internal resolution. But there isn't much problem if you change that for this game, compared to RE2.
What the fix has:
- Lots of hotkeys.
- Most thing fixed. Same stuff as RE2, except for small mirror effects.
- Automatic low convergence for cutscenes (it accidentally triggers in the boss fight of mission 1).
To do:
- Fixing things related to mirrors.
- Waiting for a 3Dmigoto version that avoids random crashes so I can fix particles and similar effects completely.
- A depth of field hotkey.
- Playing the entire game. I'm at mission 12.
Hotkeys (never the numpad):
- F1: convergence presets.
- F2: nothing.
- F3: HUD toggle, but there are some small things not included yet.
- F4: nothing.
- F5: vignette toggle. Recommended.
- F6: compute shader reflections at full depth toggle. But it affects foot shadows too.
- 4: nothing yet. It will be the DoF hotkey in the future.
- 5: barrel distortion toggle. This effect is already disabled by default, and I recommend leaving it like that.
- 6: TAA toggle. By default it's how it should be, effect disabled for 3D and enabled for 2D. With the hotkey you switch that state. It only disables frame blending, but not the slight shaking (I've seen much worse in other game).
- 7: radial blur toggle. If you want to disable the blurry speed effect of running fast.
Problem you can find: some random crashes. Unavoidable for the moment. It can happen when you grab blue/purple/golden orbs, for example. The problem isn't too much frustrating, usually just trying again will work.

By the way, the fix for now includes all shaders from Resident Evil 2, and things in d3dx.ini that mention that game. Some of them are shared, like the lens flares shaders, but most files will just sit there doing nothing (they won't cause any trouble).
If there's something I don't like about the game, it's that you can't pause cutscenes.
And another thing, the way I fixed the HUD gave real depth to targeting and other dynamic stuff. Most elements already have some real depth so I didn't have to touch it. Subtitles are at screen depth.

I do see a black screen issue, but it's at the main menu. If I wait for the "Capcom Presents" cutscene and quit out of it with vendor extensions enabled, it causes the screen to stay black when I reach the main menu again. There are a few new vendor extension functions I'm seeing, so maybe wrapping those will play a part.

Thanks so much for working on this masterotaku! Will be supporting close to the weekend when I have time to download the game! Was waiting for a fix to get developed before picking it up.
Sekiro is coming out in 10 days, please keep that one on the radar, will support that getting fixed as well!

Sekiro and Nioh 2 are games I want to fix, no doubt. But I will probably wait at least for a 50% discount. DMC5 was a special exception (around 40% discount on Voidu, and me being super excited after waiting for many years).
There is work to do in DMC5 yet (apart from playing :p), and also testing something in RE2 when I have time, and finishing Claire's campaign. And I have a fixing backlog that I want to clear. Maybe people won't care about those games as much as about Sekiro, but it's something that I want to finish and publish when I can.
The list is more or less (not necessarily in this order):
- Tokyo Xanadu Ex+ (fix almost finished, game halfway done).
- Redout.
- System Shock Remaster.
- Turok 2.
- Dead Cells.
- Dragon Quest XI, finishing the game in case there's something else to fix.
- World of Final Fantasy + expansion.
- Final Fantasy Type-0 (maybe later because alt+tab crashes the game).
- Dragon Ball FighterZ stuff (improvements, mods).
- .hack//G.U. Last Recode (unless Schwing. does it first).
- The four DX11 Naruto games.
- The Vagrant (it barely needs more than the profile tweak I told people, but I want to modify stuff).
- Bloodstained, in summer (I already paid the kickstarter almost 4 years ago).
- The Evil Within, to improve the fix (again, resuming the work from when my old SSD died).
- Mary Skelter, which is mostly fancy HUD mods.
And maybe more that I don't remember.

I have a question. Can people without 3D Vision use the 3D fixes to get rid of those annoying option limitations in terms of postprocess effects? Blooms, AA, blurs etc.
A friend just asked. I never tried and am freshly after reinstall, no game to check it on.
