Shared Steam Accounts for Shaderhackers

I don't really consider myself to be a shaderhacker quite as yet but just a suggestion. Xcom 2 war of the chosen came out and is now broken in 3d. Now DJ-RK probably won't be looking at it any time soon, but maybe someone else might be interesting to pick up the reigns, the fix still kinda works just some new effects have been broken including shadows. I am going to see if I can track down the problem shaders when I get a chance as I already own the game and this seems like maybe the final version?

I don't have any request for now. In the majority of cases, I want to fix games that I also want to play and own myself (especially of they are on GOG). What are the most important (at least for me) not-on-GOG unfixed games, present and future? Let's make a list: - Prey (2017): not on sale right now (and expensive base price), but it looks interesting. It uses CryEngine 4, I wonder how hard it is to fix. Someone here is offering a Steam key for an interested shader fixer: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/980914/3d-vision/prey-2017/4/ - Dishonored 2: it already has a shared account, but it's currently unfixable. - Resident Evil 7: it already has a shared account. - .hack//G.U. Last Recode: it will be released in November. Unknown status. - Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: with the announcement of FighterZ I'm losing a bit of interest. Anyway, I'll buy and fix this game myself whenever the deluxe edition reaches a good price (I missed that 35,09€ sale that Enhanced Steam says happened in July). - Final Fantasy XV: still unreleased. Hoping it will use DX11. Now the list of games I'm currently working on (some are paused and I will return to them after I fix the others), just so pleople know someone is working on them: - Trails in the Sky 1/2/3 and Trails of Cold Steel: long ass and hard (because I play on hard) games. Fixes are mostly done, but I need to test all locations in ToCS and presumably TitS 3 (this one has at least one fixable reflection shader that I fixed at the start of the game (I'd prefer no to spoil the plot to myself), while the previous two games are simpler). - NBA 2K17: I'm currently procrastinating about finding a way to isolate the very few shaders that need fixing. Most of the issues are fixed with driver profile tweaks. This game uses a very low FOV but distant camera that makes 3D a bit useless, if you know what I mean. - Ys SEVEN: I'll play it once there are officially more resolutions, but I'm 99% sure it doesn't need any fix apart from the StereoTextureEnable (0x00000004 or 0x00000024) tweak. - One Piece Burning Blood: I did most of the fix in just a few hours yesterday, but I found a decals problem that will need more work. Bad port limited to 1080p and 30fps, ugh. - Tales of Zestiria: only shadows remain to be fixed 100%, although they aren't too bad. I would feel bad about releasing this in an incomplete state. - Tales of Berseria: same as above, but also some lighting shaders have some "snap into place (not even the 100% correct place)" (some of you may know what I mean) problems even after solving haloing with the "vPos" method. I don't really know how to fix that. I had only shared the WIP with one person, so here it goes: https://s3.amazonaws.com/masterotaku/Tales+of+Berseria/Tales_of_Berseria_WIP1.7z - Vanquish: stuck with shadows and lighting currently, so much that this game probably has the lowest priority of the list.

I've been backpacking through Azerbaijan/Armenia/Georgia/Iran for a while, hence the radio silence. Back now though. :) If we have any shaderhackers keen for war of the chosen who don't already own it, give me a shout and I'll pick it up. Masterotaku, I agree with your most wanted list. Prey does have a demo, which should be enough to work on a proof of concept fix. If someone can crack that open, then it'll justify picking up the full game.

So now it's waiting for 3Dmigoto improvements (there are more than 80 commits since the last release) or do a fix with less capabilities...

Only with the 1.0.1 you can hunt, mark and refresh (F10)...with newer version you can't.

With the 1.0.1 version, it does not have the Overlay. It also has a much worse Decompiler and no ASM, but you can work around that by dumping files with a newer version, but using the 1.0.1 version for hunting.

It looks like the procedure to enable Steam Guard has changed slightly and now requires a re-login and Steam Guard code, which might complicate enabling family sharing - pirateguybrush and I can get these codes from email if you want this, but otherwise you can just play logged in to the shared account as before.

Murdavs has generously donated a copy of Prey to the shaderhackers account. It's set up and ready to use. Thanks! Reminder that shaderhackers are more than welcome to log into the accounts and just play through games they're interested in should you be interested in a game but unable to work on it.

Sounds good, I'm interested in Prey. Thanks. I've been looking into getting 3Dmigoto to run correctly with it. Older drivers don't work in 3D Vision, giving you a 2D display. Can probably dig up a profile, but easiest is to update to newer driver. I'm using 385.69 as being better than the very latest drivers for Win10 FCU. FCU will cause you problems, avoid, unless you like being the early adopter. With 385.69, 3D works, including CM, and has a profile. CM is playable, but not great, the halos are really common and obvious in this game. Real 3D is terribly broken as you'd expect. Current problem is that 3Dmigoto will crash the game when installed. No answers or hints in the log file or with debugger. If I set hooks=skip_dxgi, that works to get into the game, but of course disables shader hunting and overlay. Debugging this a bit, as near as I can tell, the CryEngine 5 is using their own wrapper to DXGI. Their code is now on GitHub. If this is right, then they wrap DXGI with a C++ object like we do. But when we return a C++ object instead of a COM object, they get an object that makes no sense for them. If they reference a field in their object, but get us instead, they get junk and crash. Not positive this is the correct analysis, but skip_dxgi is suggestive. I'll keep looking.

Thanks for the donation, murdavs, and thanks for looking at the issue, bo3b. By the way, I recently bought Dead Rising for myself, to its shaderhacker account is totally free for the rest of you (if you are interested in playing it after the recent steam guard changes).

Thanks bo3b for making 3Dmigoto to work with Prey....I have Prey installed, so if you need some testing let me know. Using a very old 3Dmigoto version with this game was not an option for me...we loose a lot of features!
