I think it's pretty obvious at this point the guys in charge of microsofts gaming policy are either just completely out of touch or are actively trying to cripple PC gaming because of their flaccid console.

Unlocked Frame Rate, Gsync & Freesync for UWP starting today http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/unlocked-frame-rategsync-freesync-to-uwp-staring-today.html It's a start, but I still hope that their store and it's exclusives are a fail.

Seems like Windows is paving the way for another OS competitor to swiftly capture the market. Win10 feels pretty barebones and featureless compared to Win 7. They literally removed quite a bit of simple functionality. I wish i could go back to Win7 without re-installing everything. Seriously, i think they just F'd up really badly. I for one am seriously hoping for linux or google to take over.

Sure, re-installing a bunch of games can be annoying - but Steam and Origin allow a game directory integrity check and just put the registry info back in without downloading the whole game. I've aquired a copy of Win 10 LTSB and mean to try it for gaming but compatibility with the latest Nvidia drivers puts me off. I don't want to get used to Win 10 and have to take it off when I finally get my 1070 :D Oh, re the original thread topic - what I've had to do with some games purchased from the Origin store apply a cracked exe to them as the launchers stop 3d vision and tridef from working. Seems counter intuitive, doesn't it? Pay for a game then crack it :D Wonder if this would work with MS store games also. Of course, this will likely stop any online play but I don't play much online.

I'm pretty sure the Microsoft Store DRM is uncrackable so far.
Hey guys, I've been testing the Windows Store version of Rise of the Tomb Raider pretty extensively, and I've discovered something. Microsoft has made it impossible to modify files in the winapps folder, where Windows Store apps are downloaded. This means it's completely impossible to install Helixmod/3dmigoto fixes. You can do it by booting into a different OS (secondary drive or live CD) and dropping the files, but as soon as Windows detects the game is trying to launch with unexpected DLLs, it cancels the launch, and subsequent attempts display a warning that the game is corrupt and needs to redownload. So they're cracking down on anyone tampering with the files of apps on the Windows Store, which makes it very difficult to install 3D fixes, and impossible to run games if you do succeed. It's really frustrating, as the WS version of ROTTR is the only version that supports the Xbone controller's "impulse triggers", and nothing I've tried will let me bring that compatibility to the Steam version. So in short don't buy games from the Windows Store if you want to play them in 3D.
It's a good thing Rise of the tomb raider natively supports Side By Side and Top and Bottom 3D, you know? The De facto stereoscopy 3D standard for gaming... If your monitor can't support industry standards, then you are out of luck and I suggest you get a display that does.

hmm never seen Side by Side and Top and Bottom refered to as the De facto standard. Those formats are typically for low bandwidth solutions

Total tinfoil here - I always wondered if it was MS that took PSN down (the first time, not the Lizard Squad time).
