well, I recently bought the 3DTV Play software, which I'm finding problems activating. when I put the cd-key, the software displays a message "server unavailable, please try again later.".
I've tried disabling my firewall, but the problem persists ...
Any ideas?

Hmm, haven't heard of that problem before.
Make sure you have the 3D Vision portion of the drivers installed.

Called Online technical support @ 866-540-1140 ==> Referred to NVidia Customer Care @ 800-797-6530
Called Customer Care @ 800-797-6530 ==> Nice lady answers, I tell her what my order number, Serial Number, name, email, phone number. She says she needs to call me back in 5 minutes to conference Software Support. We hang up.
She calls back in 5 minutes. On hold for awhile playing a funky and hypnotic soothing song loop over and over.. about 10 minutes goes by and she comes back online apologizing for the wait, asking me to check my email for activation. I check, the key is the same as before. I try the key and it works.
Issue is closed. Customer is happy![/quote]

By clicking the button repeatedly "ok" to send the key, an error pops up....

Just to update....
After almost 20 days exchanging emails and information with the support, I get this message:
"Sorry for the delay. I've looked into this issue, and unfortunately, 3DTV Play activation is not currently working. It is being evaluated to be fixed in a future software update, but there is no current workaround available. I apologize for the inconvenience.

I'm honestly disappointed, bought software that does not work. Update future, but the latest software revision is 2010, it is clear that they abandoned the project. Do not buy this crap.

What operating system are you using? If Vista, 3D support for it was dropped at 310.
What GPU? What Display model?
Some of the recent drivers have had issues with 3D Vision, try an old/legacy driver.
Once it's installed and working, then update the driver after trying and comfirming operation for a lil while.
You might try removing it from the chain.
It could even be your ISP.
I was having trouble for several months a few years ago due to the fact that my neighborhood is in the boondocks and everything is routed through a single junction, so if it has problems there's no back up/ alternative data path. I did some kind of packet check and it was getting terrible results. I called the ISP and they fixed it. Things like Windows Update were failing, downloads were corrupted.
EDIT: what about user account control? are you logged in as the primary user?

Hmm, if this was a widespread issue you'd think there would be more posts with this error.
A fresh installation would rule out viruses.
Do you have any third party apps installed. If so try disabling them using task manager.
Google "tried to write to 0x00090FE8" and see if you can find a fix.
A quick check and I saw where one guy was having a similar issue due to having "opendrive" installed.
same issue also for me not solved yet :( at a moment after a clean installation i can't activate 3dplay tv because it says it is already activated 5 times....

3DTV Play is available for purchase again via Nvidia's store.
Has anyone had any luck activating it recently?
