im new to the 3D thing as well and i dont wanna sound ignorant but where can i tweak this convergence u speak about? i though convergence was the same as the 3D depth adjuster that u have set to 50%?!

Go to your Nvidia control panel, and Set up Stereoscopic 3d. Click on 'Set keyboard Shortcuts'. In there enable 'advanced in-game settings' You'll see an increase/decrease convergence settings. When in game, HOLD DOWN your convergence shortcut to watch the convergence increase or decrease. Use the save feature to save your own profile. Thats it! All you have to do is find the right balance for YOU. :)

Pop out is alright but I'm with the max depth massive. Especially FPSs, racers, 3rd person. For FPSs I set convergence so the gun is about the same depth as it would be IRL. Same principle for racers.
I always find max (100%) depth comfortable now, because I am used to it. I find the convergence setting is what decides comfort/headache level. Plus, unless you have a head like a hammer shark, people with greater than 23" displays will find 100% depth settings uncomfortable because the vergance is greater than the space between your eyes.

Is there a reason why this does not work in Portrait mode? I am doing 3d surround (anaglyph mode) and when I move my monitors (3 30") into Portrait mode the "Setup Stereoscopic 3d" option dissapears.
Why in the world would 3d not work in portrait mode? Please let me know if you guys have an idea how I can setup convergence / depth in portait mode. 3d vision will work but I cannot set any of the options....
Also weirdly enough the colors get really washed out in anaglyph mode. For example with the glasses on with 3d vision disabled you can see the greys, blacks, greens, etc. If you keep the glasses on and turn on 3d vision (i.e. batman arkhanam) it turns the greys to green. Is there a way to tweak this?

how do you save the profile? I am able to adjust convergence with ctrl F6 while in a game, but how do you save those settings...from within the game somehow or from nvidia software?

Look in the nVidia control panel. You can select which key will save settings.
If you're playing a helixmod game, this may be different. Refer to the instructions on the mod page.
