Its kind of funny you get Elder scrolls to work by telling it its world of warcraft. Since thats what they were going for *SNAP*.
@Blubberduck
MAYB... Probably not

Tbh, I doubt it will force real full screen to function.
--------------
I really wouldn't get too excited even if it does work. I really haven't look into game [nor do I really care for MMO's] but they are ussually hud heavy which makes it hard to play in 3d.
Thats not even considering issues.

No screen shot from me... nda and all.
But what I'm willing to say is:
positive:
only problem in 3D is reticule (drawn at screen depth).
Shadows good
lighting good
shader's good
works in 1. person and in 3.
Name tags 3D
heath bars 3D
Even quest markers 3D
Negative:
Not the best looking game...

I added the profile to World of Warcraft but I still can't get 3D to kick in no matter if I am trying fullscreen, maximized, or windowed mode. What driver set are you guys that got 3D to work using?

I did fiddle around in the UserSettings.xml, but that didn't have any effect (but here are my modifications)
SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D9", hm.... perhaps this is it?
In Nvidia control Panel:
Select when the....
Only when 3D programs run
Remember to add eso.exe and not the launcher or shortcut.
Run as administrator checked in eso.exe properties.
edit: latest beta driver, but I don't think that's the reason why it worked

"Only when 3D programs run" and I think "Always" will work as well but I honestly forget. Fullscreen only won't work.
Though I am stressing you need 3d vision not tv play.

Changing the setting in the UserSettings.xml file to D3D9 made it work. I notice that some of the shadows are off, but not tall of them. I also could have sworn there was a way to disable the crosshair in this game but I am not seeing it.

where do I find the UserSettings.xml file? I can't find it in my ESO files. my path is Program Files (x86)/Games/ESO PTS/The Elder Scrolls Online/game/client. This is where I have my eso.exe but I don't see any UserSettings.xml file?

It's in the Elder Scrolls Online folder in your documents section.
I noticed most of the bad shadows are indoor as I don't notice that many problems outside. The fact that the quest markers and health bars render properly is a deal IMHO. The skybox renders correctly also. So if we can force this game to run in DX9 then maybe some will be able to fix the broken shadows indoors and push the reticle further into the screen.
I might just buy this game after all if the remaining issues are fixable.

Simply mind blowing. Got it to work. Thanks equzitara for the brilliant breakthrough. Thanks to PowerPanda for your helpful suggestions and thanks to Arioch1 for pointing me in the right direction for the UserSettings file. I forgot all about the ESO Documents folder.
The 3D community here on this forum really is impressive. I'm glad I don't have to screw with my 3D Vision set up, it works so well with so many other games. I was looking into different cables, different monitors, trying to get TriDef to work. What a headache.
For anyone else trying to get it to work: In Nvidia control panel set it to: Only while 3D programs run. With Nvidia Inspector, delete current ESO profile, then add the ESO.exe to the WOW profile with the "Add application to current profile" tab. Finally in Documents, i have a folder: Elder Scrolls Online, in the folder "UserSettings.txt" change the line: SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D11" to "D3D9". Thats it, confirmed, works great.
Thanks guys for all your help, ESO in its current state is a really awesome 3D gaming experience, and i'm sure it will just get better as more tweaks are figured out.

Yea, I just got a curse key and just went to download game out of curiosity. You guys should hound dev's. MMO's are messy business and my interest in them is nill but everything has depth as far as hud which I can't stress is amazing.
Though I have no idea what DX11 looks like [it doesnt seem to make use of any features at least yet]. Could be a nightmare, could be better off.
Anywho thats all I will say since I don't want to get my pants sued off.
