You are aware you are choosing between two Alienware systems? Why Alienware when you can just take the parts and build it yourself for a 10th of the cost?

If you are paying more than half price I wouldn't bother.

Well I don't know what you are paying but I wouldn't game on either of those. The 640 in the desktop is utterly worthless unless you are at 720p, a 650ti or 7750 is a realistic minimum for 1080p gaming, and with the next console generation in spitting distance that will change fast. A laptop is never a great idea for a gaming system, no portability because battery life is 0 when gaming, and no power because its a laptop. Also this is a 3D forum so I'm guessing thats what you are planning, both are too slow for it.

Sims 3 in 2d, yes. Anything more demanding than that, probably not. Definitely not good enough for 3d. Spend more money, get a better system.

Are you planning to play in stereoscopic 3D? You didn't say anything about monitor and what glasses you might use. The laptop doesn't appear to support stereoscopic natively. (This forum, for 3D Vision, is for NVidia's version of stereoscopic 3D gaming, using shutter glasses. If you didn't know that, that would explain why we are asking funny questions.
