Unlike it states, it DOES NOT support all 3D Formats. No Checkerbuard or interleaved 3D support.

It does not allow for 3D passthrough with the current model. OP states that it will not passthrough a 720P 120Hz 2D signal.

It does allow a VGA Display to be HDCP compliant. They also have a couple of other models that do the same, but with no 3D conversion.

Where it seems, that it may shine, is a dual passive projector set-up.

Due to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, it may be illegal to use this device in certain countries. That's if the firmware is altered to allow HDCP to be removed. Otherwise, it is perfectly legal.

And the fact that it is 3D technology that is meant for displays and projectors means that it is direct competition to the 3D Vision equipment. People might see the 3D Fury setup and think "wow, that is an affordable way to game in 3D" and "sweet, I can just use my crappy old monitor/projector/tv and see stuff in 3D" when in reality if they shelled out the extra money and got the nice active shutter glasses and a projector/monitor/tv that works with 3D vision they would have the 3D experience they paid for.

Well my question is what does it do with a 30hz side by side signal. Since 24hz seems to be a limitation of hdmi 1.4 and no projector offers dvi-d. Does it downconvert to 24hz or does it somehow offer it straight 30hz framepacked.

Many posters on these forumns use 120Hz 3D projectors to game on 100, 120 and 140 inch screens.

The are quite happy sacrificing 1080P and opting for the immersion that such large screens offer.


Besides, it is capable of 120Hz 1080P 3D. You just need 2 3D Furys and 2 projectors for a passive set-up.
Then depending on the polarizing filters you use, you may need a silverscreen.

Note: you can also use 2 Optoma 3D-XLs to demux a 3D signal into seperate left and right feeds.

Ah, I see. Personally, now that I am used to the 1080p 120 Hz active glasses setup, I am worried that the drop in Hz or resolution will stand out like a sore thumb. I am hoping they come out with a projector that has a d-dvi input and runs @ 1920x1080 120 Hz 3D and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Seems like if the video cards and computer can put it out, it would be a shame to limit it at the projector. And running something like 3D Fury in between my pc and my display seems really pointless if I could just get a projector that does 3D imaging on it's own.

So as promised, a quick follow up:

Yup i agree, the glasses look cheap, it's true, they don't look stunning but i like them, i found them confortable to wear and performing better or nearly as good as Bitcauldron (i find them better on 60hz plasma, and a bit inferior on CRT PJ)
Since i don't plan of going out to a party with my 3d glasses, i'm happy with them (as i said, i don't care about the overall look, only the perfs)

One bad thing is the USB connector on the glasses, i had to try 2 differents macro USB cable to get one to fit correctly.
Also, i had to return one pair already, the board was moving inside but they replaced it

Anyway, i'm happy with this device and the 3D effect i'm getting is spectacular in all way.

This is all correct, i would say, that this device is made to add today HDMI latest features to prehdmi and prehdmi1.4 display.
The DRM removal thing is needed to connect today source devices to RGB/YUV/DVI-D displays of any tech (CRT, plasma, DLP, led, lcd) sold before HDMI was implemented (or correctly implemented)
Some people are using the DRM workaround for recording purpose.
and you can do 1080p144 or 720p288 in dual projector

I would not ever sell this crap to someone I know because they would bring it back in anger and I might lose a friend. Every piece has parts that knock around and so on. If you actually read my post properly, you would have noticed me saying that they might be total garbage. Your post was the first time I've ever even heard of this product and I only mentioned that they might be a game changing product IF they actually work properly with 60hz displays (which doesn't seem to be the case). I would not ever sell this crap to someone I know because they would bring it back in anger and I might lose a friend. Every piece has parts that knock around and so on. Like I said I really can't say enough bad things about them! Maybe you know better than the guy testing them in hand but probably not eh?



BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THEY DON'T KEEP PROPER SYNK SO THEY ARE GARBAGE!!!!!!!!! Also I have to bend the plastic out of the way so I can plug in the usb power cable

If you actually read my post properly, you would have noticed me saying that they might be total garbage. Your post was the first time I've ever even heard of this product and I only mentioned that they might be a game changing product IF they actually work properly with 60hz displays (which doesn't seem to be the case). So not by any means do I work for 3D Fury nor do I want to buy them from you.
