Gtx 285 to Gtx 470 Would you ?
  1 / 2
I have the option of getting a Gtx 470, but am currently running a sinlge Gtx 285
and it plays everything just fine. I know a 470 wouldn't be much of an upgrade,
more of a sidestep.. that being said, if money wasn't an issue would it be worth
it in any manner at all ? Maybe min. frames in 3d would go up a little ? Any
thought's would be appreciated cause I can't seem to stop myself from
pressing checkout. lol

a 470 is a bigg upgrade from a 285. i just got one 470 and in comparison to my dual 285's its pretty darn good. of course not as good as SLId 285's but definitely better then one. so id say go for it

I v changed 285 to 480
480 is really faster than 285 with 3d vision

but
temperture and power consumtion is most worst thing

I'm pretty happy with my 285, its got 2 gigs of ram for some reason, which i hear they apparently don't make anymore. I'm thinking i'll wait for the next generation.

Yea iam considering on upgrading my self.

I have 2 x gtx280`s one is a xfx the other is innado or something.

Is it worth upgrading to a gtx470 or gtx480 ? would I get more power etc or would my gtx280`s be just as good ?

Its hard to choose when to upgrade because you tend to regret it and a new version comes out .

the gtx280s cost about 300 when first out which is alot of money and were talking about £400 for a 400 series card.

In your case it's only worth getting the 480, as 2x 280's are still nothing to sneeze at.

In my case, I just ordered a 470 from Ncix !! :D I couldn't help myself after days of thinking
about it, deciding against it, and then thinking about it again.. I just went for it !

I feel like I'm betraying my trusty 285 but Just Cause 2, Metro 2033 and Wii emulation in HD + 3d is
enough of a reason for me to upgrade.. (Apparently the 470 when overclocked is rocking even the 5870)..

I'll report back with 3d vision results when the card arrives hopefully this week !!

Dude let us all know how it turns out. I have one 285 and love it, but yeah with 3d vision it's showing is age. I was also wondering if the 470 is a good upgrade from one 285. All I want is better 3d performance without sli. 480 just a little too much money, but 470 I think I could do. I'm really curious to see how much faster it is than the 285. I've read reviews but only a couple review with 3d vision and still its vague. :)

The results were a bit disappointing taking into account that he is not playing in Full HD resolution.
