I am just getting into 3D vision and have managed to sort through most problems but I am at a dead end now. I am having an issue in Batman Arkham Asylum were textures seem to be placed differently for each camera eye, for example, if I check the screen with one eye closed a reflection on a window will be differently place than the one viewed from my other eye, so when I view with both eyes in 3D the window looks a mess because two versions of this reflection or texture is being viewed. This is really hard to explain lol. I have disabled shadows and pretty much all other effects but this has not made a difference.
This isn’t the only game I have seen this happen, there are a few areas in Skyrim where the screen is different for each eye, but the effect is more rare so I wasn’t as concerned. With Batman its very noticeable.
I also noticed that 3D seems to hate HDR as well. In Skyrim this is very noticeable and I think its more to do with the ghosting/crosstalk. I can deal with the general ghosting but bright HDR images are very distracting and games such as Skyrim don’t seem to let you disable HDR.
These are probably my biggest problems with 3D. I have made a lot of concessions in other areas but if I cant sort the texture thing out I might call it a day.
I am currently running a GTX580 on a Benq 27”, was going to upgrade to a GTX780 once I know I can iron out the 3D issues.
Thanks if you have any advice on this?

Have you tried turning the glasses upside down to see if the eye shutter sequence is reversed? Other than that, make sure you are able to adjust the convergence via the hotkey. It must be unlocked in the control panel first for some crazy reason.

With Batman Arkham Asylum, is the phenomenon you are describing only with windows, doors, vents, or banners (which are added with PhysX)? Is it pretty minor? Because unfortunately this is an issue introduced many many many drivers ago with that particular game. It's annoying, but pretty minor overall.
If you are talking about a major problem that makes the game unplayable, then you must be seeing something else, and I'm afraid I can't help you.

Thanks for the replies. The convergence setting makes no difference to the effect, they are just different images on objects such as windows no matter what the setting is, so the image just looks like a reflection gone wrong.
Yes the effect is just windows, doors etc. I wouldn't say it was major but to be honest I think it would annoy me throughout the game though, especially if some areas have a lot of those elements.
Thats a bit worrying if it is a driver issue as it doesn't sound like they are bothering to ensure the 3D vision stuff is working properly. The thing I get concerned about with 3D is it feels very ropey support wise, who is to say the next driver will make things even worse. I don't want to get into a major moan about it, I do want to get into using 3D but the tech isnt exactly making it easy.
thanks for the help, I wonder if it is worth rolling back drivers.

I'd say definitely worth rolling back the drivers. The latest versions have been pretty sketchy.
Not gonna lie, 3D Vision support is pretty much only to be found on this forum. People here can generally help get you running more smoothly, but it's not a flawless experience, and requires stuff like tweaking .ini and .cfg files, and dropping Helixmod shaderoverrides into game folders and other PC type shenanigans. End result is typically pretty stunning, but only you can decide if it's worth it.
For Asylum, that one is 3D Vision Ready and should be pretty much flawless. I played it long ago, and did not notice any bad reflections. This is why I'd say going back to older drivers is likely worth the time.
If that doesn't work, give us an example image to look at by taking in game snapshot with Alt-F1. That saves in your Documents/NVStereoscopic3D.IMG/ folder, and you can upload to sharing sites or to 3DVisionLive. You can also attach here, after a post, by using the paperclip icon.

Arkham Asylum has been messed up for over a year, so if you are planning to go back to older drivers, you are gonna have to go WAY back. Like before they had even released 600 series cards.
There again, the issue is very minor. In fact, I just played a little bit of Asylum the other day, and the windows (at least exterior ones) are not translucent, so I'm not sure what anomaly you are seeing there. My windows look fine. The issue is with doors and vent grates, and, like I said, if you are running PhysX you will see weird reflections on banners. This is all when viewing these objects at a distance - once you are close up they correct.
Little things like that pretty much have to be ignored in some games in exchange for the improvement 3D makes in other ways. It's rare to have a game that displays perfectly.
One final thought: Have you disabled Motion Blur on Asylum? Per Nvidia's own recommendations on that game, Motion Blur must be disabled. I have verified that the Motion Blur effect DOES NOT display correctly.... In fact, now that I remember what it looked like, I'm wondering if this is your actual problem.

This won't solve your problem with Batman, but it's an invaluable resource for fixing similar problems with other games.
