Hi guys. I am having a problem that I hope someone can help with. I have reciently bought a Sony KDL-46HX800 down here in Australia. I cant get it working though. The tv is in the compatability list on the Nvidia website however it has (USA / JAPAN) under it. Love my luck the only tv in that series I buy is the one thats not yet supported wordwide.
When I hook it up to the pc it only thinks its a Generic PnP monitor. I have tried manually updating the driver and clicking on the Sony Corporation thing and then to the right it has a list of tvs to install but the hx800 isnt in there at all nor the hx900 which is supported world wide.
Can any one tell me how I may be able to use the USA version driver for my tv? I have 3d running fine on my Alienware monitor by the way..

Please let me know if you find a solution,
my brother is experiencing the same problem ...
He will put it on ebay if he cant manage to get the 3D working on PC ...
cheers
[/quote]
Will do.
I just need the .sys file and the ICM profile. It tells you where they are through the device manager and viewing the driver detials about the tv. If someone could upload them that would be great :).

Got in contact with Nvidia directly and apparently I need to use the Sony glasses and not the Nvidia ones. isr2 does your brother have the Sony glasses to try it with? I have them coming as part of a promo Sony is running atm. I'll update this thread when I have tested them.

I'm a fellow HX800 user (KDL-40HX800) from Australia, and also experiencing issues with 3DTV Play.
Bought the TV and a 3D Vision Kit based on the 3DTV Play compatibility lists, yet it just won't cooperate.
• I am using a GTX295
• I have the 3D Vision transmitter connected via USB (tried every port, it is recognised fine and I have installed the controller driver v 260.81 as both a standalone or part of the CD v 1.37)
• I've removed all drivers, and tried on 260.63 beta, 260.89 WHQL and 260.99 WHQL (Windows 7 64 bit)
• TV is connected on 3D vision kit DVI-HDMI cable presently, though I have tried on a Belkin DVI-HDMI, and also via DVI (M)-HDMI (F) adaptor and HDMI 1.4a cable.
• Trying of course with the Provided Sony 3D glasses, which work great with simulated 3D content, PS3 3D Games, and the Nvidia Stereoscopic test demo.
• Stereoscopic 3D page in Nvidia Control Panel has everything greyed out with "Stereoscopic Display Type: HDMI 1.4 Blu-Ray 3D" showing, and the setup application does not mention 3DTV Play until the end when it suggests that I upgrade to it.
As above, my TV is detected as "SONY TV" (Generic PnP Monitor) by my computer, and there don't appear to be any drivers to tell it otherwise.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I know I can't be too far off, as the TV and Graphic card are both supported, but after reinstalling the 3D Vision controller, and the graphic drivers multiple times, plugging things in and out in different orders, relaunching the control panel and restoring defaults, there has been nothing I've been able to do to get anything other than a working stereoscopic test. 3D Videos play in 2D, and Games running at 1280x720 are recognised as a 3D input mode, the TV tells me that and automatically switches, but the driver is still drawing the content in 2D only.

Sounds like your on the right track. I was asked by Nvidia support to set the TV to 1280x720 and launch the 3d setup application which it does but doesn't work cause I dont have the Sony glasses yet. In the setup guide I read for it, it says to set it up that way and then you can set it up for 3d HD i.e 1920x1080 3d..
Have you guys got onto Nvidia support about this? Perhaps they could make a fix or a specific setup guide if they know multiple people are having this problem with the same TV..
