My tv is Philips 46PFL8505H (Link to my TV) so i just wounder if i somehow can get 3D working? I did buy a pair of Nvidia 3D vision glasses and transmitter etc. And i have a Zotac 560 TI AMP!
I know my TV isent on the list of approved tv's or so but there are other philips models (Like 46PFL8605H withs seems to be allmost the same as my tv?) so i wounder why mine arent supported? It got the same connections and everything. No DVI just VGA but i got HDMI 1.4 etc just like the one supported on the list.
I did send a message to nvidia (Found a link in a moderators sign and followed that one to make a message asking for support for my TV) but on my "issue" page it just says STATUS: Closed Submission and i havent got any answer or anything.

Sounds like you may need a edid overide, try roller11 edid or edid download link to website.
These edid overides fool the drivers into working on none supported 3dtv's
Oh, and i take it you have some phillips 3d glasses as you cant use the nvidia glasses for 3dtv's i believe.

I dont have Philips 3D glasses yet. Only Nvidia 3DVision glasses and stuff. But iam gonna buy Philips aswell. Is it any risk to the TV doing what is says in that link you gave me? And if it is and something bad happens dose insurance cover it? I did buy 3 years insurance on it so.
I just wish Nvidia had more TV's supported. And are faster to add support to more TV's
Oh and also. Its possible to game in 3D play? What the diffrence between 3DPlay and 3Dvision anyways?

Hi,
Sadly the nvidia 3d vision glasses you have are no good for your 3dtv as you will need phillips 3dtv glasses for their 3dtv's.
No it won't damage or affect anything with your tv, its just a driver for windows.

No worry about damage to the TV.
The Nvidia website is incomplete regarding TVs that are supported. For example, most people in this forum who are gaming on HDTVs are doing so on Tvs that are not on Nvidia's 3D Vision list.
The difference between 3DTV Play and 3D Vision is which 3D modes are supported. 3D Vision supports only frame sequential and checkerboard mode. 3DTV play supports only frame packing mode. Problem with frame packing is that it cannot do full framerate native resolution. 3DTV Play is for convenience and used by the "casual" gamer who is satisfied with poor image quality. 3D Vision is prefered because it offers good image quality native resolution at full frame rate via checkerboard mode. The disadvantage of 3DV is that many brands of TVs don't support CB mode.
Report back as to whether or not your 3DTV supports CB mode and we will be able to assist you.

You may need to go into the 'help' section of the TVs internal guide, see page 23 of the manual. All 3DTVs support at least one 3D mode, framepacking. Other 3D modes may be supported depends on the brand. Framepacking is the worst 3D mode for computers, so you want one of these other optional modes. If you find this data, report back.

Ive been looking in every menu and stuff inside the Help section in my tv but cant find anything. The only thing it says about 3D is how i connect the 3D emitter for the TV's glasses nothing more /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />

Could be that it supports only mandatory frame packing. Unusual because all other brands support optional side by side and over/under because SBS is used in many applications. I'd call Philips if I were you.

So is it possible to get it working somehow?
Thanks in advance

You'll never find useful 3D info in any spec sheet. I looked at the users manual and it also had no 3D info, normally this is where you'll find which 3D modes are supported.

You'll never find useful 3D info in any spec sheet. I looked at the users manual and it also had no 3D info, normally this is where you'll find which 3D modes are supported.

Could be that it supports only mandatory frame packing. Unusual because all other brands support optional side by side and over/under because SBS is used in many applications. I'd call Philips if I were you.
