3D-games that "come out" 3D mostly just goes into the screen, which ones come out?
Hi there;
I started playing games 3D some time ago but was disappointed most times - yeah, it's a nice effect, but... pffrt. Then I noticed what might be the problem - I've noticed it when I tested Assassin's Creed Brotherhood: In this game, some things came "out" of the picture! I've never seen that before.
The thing is: The screen is the front line, everything in the game is "behind" the screen, nothing comes into your direction. Therefore you don't feel like beeing "in the game" but still like watching it from a distance. Brotherhood was the first game I felt the effect, and THAT was great!
My question is: Why is Brotherhood "real" 3D and other games only ... (don't know how to call it)? Are there other games that come out? Because with such effects it's great.
P.S.: It's not "3D ready", because Resident Evil 5 also only "gets in" :(

Go to your nvidia control panel, setup stereoscopic 3d, set keyboard shortcuts. Enable advanced settings, then set a Convergence shortcut. Convergence allows you to make almost ANY game pop out of the screen! Other than games that have a "locked" convergence (RE5 is one, Metro2033, Mafia2). You must Hold Down the keyboard shortcut until desired effect is achieved.
Also, in-screen depth IS 3d! Nothing in real life pops through your eyes does it? LOL. But out-of-screen effects are fun, so give convergence a shot on all your games. You'll find that most games can be set up for a GREAT pop-out effect!

You seem to have godlike knowledge, can you help me with a problem that occured just now: Some games are started in 3D always although I disabeld this in the control anel - not many, but StarCraft II and Mafia II. This is not so bad, but since a minute ago Firefox (!) starts in 3D! WTF?! Do you know how to prevent applications to start in 3D?

As far as I know, Firefox has had bugs with enabling 3d just watching regular videos. I wouldn't know much though since I don't like firefox and use IE, which I have no problems with. However, this latest beta driver, seems to kick the 3d in randomly sometimes and the monitor stays bright. Only running the Stereoscopic test in the control panel a few times seems to remedy that.
Some "3d Vison Ready" games will kick on 3d even if you have the little "hide 3d effct" button checked. You might have to literally hit the disable 3d button to completely disable 3d if you don't want it to kick in.
There are always bugs in drivers. Until human beings reach perfection themselves, drivers will have bugs (not to mention everything else in life). We still have a few million years of evolution to go before that happens. /tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':tongue:' />
