Driver 320.49 apparently fixes the grass problem, if you can run it.
Thanks mate!
That worked but the grasses on ultra seemed to cause hitching? I will have another look because GTA/PC might have needed another restart after change of driver and first run.
Are you having any better luck than I am?
I've not been asked for a video, my most recent reply was "we have logged this information in our system for further review". So I'm cautiously optimistic that they're working on it. I've been providing them with all the info people dig up here - driver 320.49 fixing grass, performance issues, CPU benchmarks, etc. I've asked them if they have an ETA, and if they've been in contact with nVidia. I also pointed them to this thread on the Trine forums, and quoted hiekkama from Frozenbyte on what they did to improve 3D performance. I'm not sure if it'll be relevant to them (I kinda doubt it), but as they're officially supporting 3D they may have made a similar mistake.

@andy - I can't really comment, or help with that. I'm running SLI 970s, and they're not supported by driver 320.49. Bo3b was the one who discovered that one.
On an unrelated note, are people sure the MP3 profile is an improvement over having no profile at all?

I'll add some more data from tests on 320.49. I'm not seeing the dramatic difference between 2D and 3D that RAGEdemon and others noted. This is an i5 machine though, 4 cores.
This is all 320.49, GTX 690 as single card (680) then as SLI. 3D off in control panel, then reboot.
For these tests, I'm losing less than 2x performance loss when switching to 3D.
When I get a chance I'll update for 350.12.
Frames Per Second (Higher is better) Min, Max, Avg for Pass 4 of benchmark.
2D only. Single GPU.
6.831454, 113.662552, 49.067657

Well, that's good news at least. Let's see what comes of it. I can only shake my head at the fact that the Rockstar video editor deviously conceals any evidence. I'm quite sure that it's nothing deliberate on their part of course, it's just a really strange quirk that essentially means that I can't present my case, if there's nothing to actually see.
So, I've set Rockstar the ultimate challenge! Finding someone from within the company that I can talk to directly that actually has GTA V, working in proper 3D, and, as an added bonus, that uses SLI. I've also asked about what setup is being used, and also which driver they're using. This particular challenge, I'd venture to suggest, could prove to be quite an amusing one. I mean someone at Rockstar should be able to play this game in 3D, right?
I'm looking forward to a reply, with eagerly anticipation..
In all fairness, they are being as helpful as possible, so let's see what they say.
Oh, you're recording with Rockstar video editor? That's likely your problem. Try using shadowplay.
This luddite doesn't have Geforce Experience installed with his crappy old driver, which you really should have half expected from me by now. So far, that's an experience I've happily chosen to do without, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I think that they'll just have to take my word for it. In saying that though, the offer I'm sure would be open to anyone who's opened their own ticket with Rockstar, to simply upload their gameplay evidence at any time rather than just wait to be asked by them.

I'm not sure what to do! I have Rockstar version (non steam) and my launcher crashes with 3dvision enabled, without 3d enabled it works!

This is the same as my experience. I have sli 980, i5 and 350.12. I have no issues with performance, just the random disabling of stereo shadows/lights after about 5 minutes gameplay.

Im using 350.12 drivers. 2* asus gtx660Ti in SLI . stock clock. cpu i52500k@4.3Ghz
textures on high frame lock on 45 fps.
I did have some problems but now i have been playing hours rock steady.
turner grass to normal because of only one eye render.
text on other eye i fixed by deleting the gta exe from the gtaV profile.
Game play is awsome. look great and game runs to my liking with pretty steady framerate.
Im really supriced i could still game this game with my setup in 3D

i think i tested those. performance is much better with the new drivers than with older, atleast for me i think. Grass at normal is no biggie when Enjoynig the 135" dual projector passive 3D picture.

* for those having issues running GTA V fullscreen it might be because you are using teamviewer. Turn it off and fullscreen will work fine
* gameplay advice: if you play in first person in car you should turn camera auto center off and set the camera higher when entering a car, it looks far more realistic

I can confirm this.
At my benchmark viewpoint (in the wilds to test impact of grasses)
320.49: I got 35 with grass ultra, 37 Normal.
350.12: 53! Fifty three!
Happy to do without the grass!

So annoying. I guess it must be a motherboard problem.
