$150 HDMI cable claims to sharpen and antialias games [and actually works]

I watched that video yesterday and most of the time i paused the video i saw more aliasing or a worse picture on the non-processed image. Occasionally it did produce a better image, but i also noticed in some of their comparisons that the video looked slightly out of sync, so all the angles of the edges were sightly different, producing different amount of aliasing.

Are you sure Libertine-? By non-processed, do you mean the mCable version?
Would you kindly provide an example?
From what I see, all textures are sharper in all comparisons, though indeed the AA might be worse than FXAA/SMAA.
3Dvision is very demanding, especially 3DSurround, and i wonder if the cable is worth buying it.
it can permit to get a sort of AA without to set Anisotropic or AA in the game.

Heres where i thought the angles of the objects in the scene were at different angles favoring the Mcable. I pulled a screenshot of this into paint.net and overlaid a line on one of the pillar edges and brought it over to the other one and sure enough they are not at the same angles. Not sure if intentional.

I didn't watch the video segment and had forgotten about that, sorry about that. It certainly showed some improvements there, but mainly at low resolution. I would say it even showed some improvements to gaming here and there, but it seemed very hit or miss.

For passive 3D I'm also inclined to think it is a NOGO as it will probably mess the pattern.

I can see this as being useful for consoles, for 150$ you're getting what is essentially a post process AA effect. Is it worth it for a pc? No. You can do the same thing with sweet fx or other injectors for free. In the grand scheme of things FXAA3 and other post AA effects are fairly cheap computationally, so offloading them to an external chip is kind of dumb. I also doubt the quality is going to be all that great and probably blur the image quite a bit, just like fxaa, txaa, smaa etc. Personally if i have enough GPU power to spare, i'd rather super sample everything.
