Viewsonic PJD6210 Review Impressive!
  2 / 4
I really don't know. VGA can handle 120hz fine though. I was doing 1600x1200 on my CRT @100hz through VGA. 1024x768 on this projector looks amazing though. I am playing Avatar now and it's so immersive. Crank up the anti-aliasing and its smooooth.

It runs in 1280x1024 and 1440x???? but not in 3D. 3D is only done in 1024x768. When you get it, I suggest using the nVidia Control Panel to enhance the color and there is an option for edge enhancement, bust it to max. It looks really good. I played Alien in 720p and its nice.

It looks great. :) Most projectors out there are XGA (1024x768) and are a lot more expensive. Check out the pic I added to the original post. iPhone pic, but this is on a 70" screen.

Cool, nice pic it actually does look pretty good.

I'm not using this for my main 3d display, I also have
3 2233's waiting for 3d vision surround, and 50" 3d
ready plasma.. but I think it will be fun to play
games on a 100+ inch screen that literally
comes off the wall !

I shall post in this thread with my impressions
when it arrives hopefully next week :D

sheesh! Rob a bank? :)

Prediction... Once your projector arrives and 3DVision Surround is released you will want to...

1. Ditch the 3 2233's
2. try to find a way to ceiling mount 3 projectors, carefully calculating the amount of wall space required.
3. coming up with excuses to the better half (if you have one) on why the 3 2233's just weren't good enough.

Having a 100" + screen in 3D is a very dramatic difference. I moved to an Optoma from a Sammy 1080P HDTV and would easily do it again. Resolution is not a deal breaker at all.

I wonder if making a wraparound screen with 3 projectors angled the right way would give you a bit more of the IMAX than just one big long screen would or if it would horribly screw your perspective up lol

oh and the reason why the 2233s werent good enough is because the black borders between monitors were giving them a headache of course ^_^

I think if the projectors were angled correctly so that it is the correct angle when you turn your head slightly to it, the effect of immersion would probably be quite awesome.

undoubtedly.... now I just need to find a projector that projects 100+" at <10 feet at 1280x720...unless 1024x768 is really not that bad.. :P Any recommendations? :)

This PJ won't do 100" at 10ft. I have it about 9 ft away from the screen and it maxes at 70" being that close. There is this new Acer found on this thread: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=159497 Very short throw distance. You pay for it though. :P

i like your prediction.. it's funny because you nailed it right on the head.
haha i'm already thinking about getting 3 projectors LOL
the resolution with 3d vision surround would be 3072x768 ? Might be interesting.. I'll just
have to wait until they come down in price a little..

and yeah, the excuses keep coming !! :P lol

What I like about the VS 6210 is that it does 4:3 which is awesome for 3D. (It also supports 16:9) My screen can pull down to a perfect square, so I'm getting a 70"x70" image for games which is pretty impressive in a game with 3D. Feels like IMAX aspect ratio which I think was superior for 3D presentations as opposed to even the 4k Sony 3D RealD projector I have also frequently gone to see at the Alamo Drafthouse which is a much wider aspect ratio screen. The 3D just doesn't "pop" as much on the wider format, imo.

Yeah I was wondering about the aspect ratio and 3d, cause I was googling for a good screen to use with projectors and couldn't decide on 16:9 or 4:3. Also I came across this http://www.smxscreen.com/pro-curve-project...een.html...just think about putting 3d surround onto this one 140" screen that's already cinemacurved for your :o pleasure hehehe

also, what IS a good screen to use? Do pulldowns move during projection or can you make them stay in one spot like a tripod or fixed?
