Better 3D Photo viewer? Windowed stereoscopic viewer.
  1 / 2
I am using 3D Vision glases and Geforce 470 (unfortunatly not quadro so no quad buffered OpenGL)
for viewing my stereoscopic 3D photos.
The fullscreen switch with the default viewer ist very anoying! Is there some
better viewer? Or can nVidia fix it somehow? I know it is possible, because
http://videos.3dvisionlive.com/ works in window (even in browser window).

I'm not sure if stereophotomaker works windowed with nvidia 3d-vision but at least it's worth a try.

SPM only works with quadro cards (quadbuffered OpenGL) in window. But thank you for your answer.

ok. I saw the option for 3d-vision in the viewing options. Since other options works windowed i figured there might be a good chance to work windowed with 3d-vision as well. Then i suppouse 3d-vision only works fullscreen no matter what. :(

Actually no. Silverlight switches to a dx mode and goes fullscreen, with limited 3d vision browsing. It's not really windowed but only 'looks' windowed. If you try to browse other pages at the same time you have to alt-tab out of silverlight to do so. However it's still a neat way of doing things, and it would be cool if sites like youtube could do the same thing.

But i can start other programs at same time! I dont have to use alt-tab. I also can run SPM at same time with "Dobuble buffered OpenGL" selected and it makes windowed output. But i dont want to have this site whole time opened.

Edit: I have 1.38 3d vision driver (260.99)

S-view is another. But maybe the problem is the nvidia 3d-vision and windowed modes.

That viewer can't enable the usb-dongle without fullscreen. But it is better than the nvidia one because i can browse through my files without switchting and it can zoom.

That's the problem. If the nvidiastereo doesn't work windowed there's no way applications that uses nvidia api to use windowed modes either without a lot of hacking required. Switching hardware solution is of course another option.

The point is: it actually DOES work in windowed mode with http://videos.3dvisionlive.com/ with newest drivers (only). But no other program supports this mode.

Yeah, it would be nice if the Nvidia Photo Viewer would work in windowed mode (especially with the Zalman, since it doesn't need any fancy hardware acceleration to interlace an image). It is also really annoying that you cannot open multiple images at once. If you could select like 50 photos, and then cycle through them with the arrow keys, it wouldn't be so bad being stuck in full-screen mode. Since I rarely only open just 1 image, I will usually have to open an image, it goes fullscreen. Then I click to window the image, then close the window, then click another image, it goes fullscreen. Really annoying having to repeat this process, even for just a photo set of 10 images. Friggin' annoying. Even if you could just double-click to open an image and have it open in the existing photo viewer that would be better. But it opens a new viewer each time. Friggin' annoying.

@cybereality: sView can actually switch between pictures in the directory with page-up page-down buttons.

I love sView and use it as my primary 3D photo/video viewer. Another tool I use is the CoolIris 3D plugin (IE FireFox). It lets you view .jps files in your web browser. Select a folder with .jps files and you'll see them all displayed as a "wall" of images. The UI will display in stereoscopic 3D, and making a selected .jps file fullscreen will display it in 3D. There is a slideshow option as well. Used this solution as my primary 3D .jps viewer until I learned about sView. Still use the CoolIris plugin when I want to be able to see a visual represenation of all the files in a folder to then select from. Great for viewing non-3D images as well.

Unfortunatly CoolIris does not support MPO files. For viewing all files in folder i am using xnView (disable detection of files on their extention to see jps and mpo).
