Can't get 3d compatibility mode to work / no updated 3d profiles since 334.89
  1 / 2
I'm struggling with the GeForce drivers since a few months until today with 337.88. I simply can not get 3d compatibility mode to run, because 3d profiles are not updated with all the recent driver updates I tried. Did a lot of driver installs/uninstalls. Cleaned with windows add and remove program, with DisplayDriver Uninstaller, fresh install over Nvidia setup and so on. No luck. 3d profiles still refused to get updated( which means I have no Black Flag profile nor Watch Dogs or BF4 shown in game compatibility list for 3d vision). Obviously, there was a driver bug in pre-335.23 which is shown in release notes 335.23: "Fixed: - [3D Vision]: The NVIDIA Control Panel->Set Up Stereoscopic 3d->View Compatibility with Games page does not show updated game ratings". So I asked SteveK@nvidia and he said he'll pass along the QA team but I never got an answer. Is there anyone, having an idea how to fix it, since I want to play Watch Dogs in 3d ( even it's the inferior fake3d)? Does somebody know where and how the profiles are stored? The funny thing is: NVinspector shows all the missing profiles, but they can't be activated. Any help is really appreciated. On top of that, with each driver install shadowplay states a fault but I don't need it anyway.(770 win7/64)

They're stored here: C:\Users\All Users\NVIDIA Corporation\Drs ... usually something like nvdrsdb0.bin and nvdrsdb1.bin, maybe check the date on them ... see if it matches when you last installed drivers, most likely does as you said NVIDIA Inspector is showing them as updated.
On top of that, with each driver install shadowplay states a fault but I don't need it anyway.(770 win7/64)
This is your problem. When the installer gets an error it will bail out and stop updating the rest of software, leaving you with stale profiles. You need to solve this problem first.

If it's an install error with ShadowPlay you can select custom install and uncheck GeForce Experience ... that's what I've been doing with every driver install since they included it. :)

And that's what I did of course, unchecking GFexperience, so the driver can install without it and without Shadowplay. Should turn out in a proper install but I don't get the profiles.

... have you used a depth hack that locked any keys in your registry?

I didn't find any leftovers in the registry but who knows? Where would be the suspicious locations to find them? And I used DDU(1282) to wipe them out. Nvdrsdb.bins are up to date. I'm getting desperate ;)

I've been using ""Display Driver Uninstaller"" written by a forum user named Wagnard. It's updated regularly and has worked perfectly, the few times that I've used it. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/550192/?comment=4224036

With weird problems like this it can be faster to throw in the towel early and go for a Windows reinstall. You could be troubleshooting this for days and get nowhere.
