I've seen many posts about blinking problem, thought I would give my 2 cents.
I have experienced this problem plenty of times. The only reason I have had many experiences going back and forth between blink/noblink is that I've been buying some hardware recently and have reinstalled my OS several times.
I believe the issue is driver-driven (pardon the pun). I first encountered this issue when I performed an upgrade from 1.08 to 1.09 some time back. Doing a driver uninstall + clean install worked that time. More recently, just this week, I reinstalled windows (W7 x64) again and got the blinking problem with 1.10 version (graphics + stereo drivers). I then reinstalled windows and stereo 1.10 a whopping THREE more times and got blinking problem every single time. To top it off, one of the times, i also kept getting BSD with some USB dll (dont remember the name anymore). Within each of those 4 times, i also tried to wipe the drivers clean using Driver Clean Pro, then reinstalled, also tried the older 1.09 version and also tried reinstall with just the 190.38 drivers downloaded separately followed by just the stereo driver from 1.10 CD - blinking every single time.
What finally worked for me (and i dont know if it was just a probability thing or the procedure) is a clean W7 install and then installation of 190.38 standalone, followed by a reboot and a standalone installation of only the stereo 3D driver from the 1.10 download. I had tried this procedure on the previous 4 W7 installs, but ONLY after the initial install of the whole 1.10 package (graphics driver + stereo driver). It seems that when my first driver install was 1.10 graphics+stereo, uninstalling and using driver cleaner then installing standalone 190.38 still didnt fix whatever the problem was with the graphics driver that comes with 1.10. What worked was making 190.38 standalone the ***FIRST*** driver i installed (doing this as RE-install didnt help). Again, i dont know if this is the procedure that works or if i just got lucky that time, but here you have it. I cant imagine 1.10 having a graphics driver installation any different from the standalone 1.10, but who knows.

Now everything runs perfectly for me.
