what about 2k edid? im using the new one for 4k but some titles dont run as well. so if there was a 2k edid for lg 4k tvs it would be amazing. would be even better if it would support multiple resolutions like the old acer edid mod did.

Last week, I tried to make 2k work in 3d but it was not possible on my 55UC970. Real 2K resolution is not recognized by the TV and the one from the original edid is just an upscale to 4K. What you can do to improve performance is use 3840x1440

yep, you have to create custom resolution in nvidia cp and put " no scaling"

I have on my projector 1920x750 which DSR is 3840x1500 and it works properly with games that support widescreen. So probably the games are not limited to a standard resolution.

My 4K monitor sometimes mistakenly comes on in color 3D (60hz) instead of switching to Discover. Anyone know of 60hz shudder glasses or anyway to work around that? As JOker says 4K 3D is amazing... sometimes even worth playing in discover (red/green) for some games over the 1080 3D vision

I'm going to go ahead and suggest a 2844x1600 resolution on a 4K passive to gain some frames. It's 16x9 and the only way I can get the Witcher 3 to run at a constant 60fps on high settings, even with 2x1080 sli. Also, with the way passive displays interleave horizontal lines, I'm more inclined to sacrifice screen width for more screen height. The picture is sharper that way.

But all these custom resolutions are not Full TV screen. I that hoped to play in Full screen mode. 3D Stereo gaming in "windowed" mode - unused for me, especially on little 55" screens ((... In a case with huge screens of projectors it would be still possible to use, but with this small TVs - unusable, imho

I prefer to always use fullscreen 3840x2160 screen size with my LG TV, but I have Pascal Titan X GPU - and I am willing to sacrifice frame rate for improved resolution. Note that the horizontal axis is also associated with the 3D stereo baseline, so increasing horizontal resolution (for example, to 3840) might also improve depth perception. Some forum members, when experimenting with display formats, have commented that TAB looks better than SBS. The LG's interlaced format is basically a variant of TAB. NVIDIA really should update 3DTV Play to include HDMI 2.0 (like their GPU hardware already does), so we can opt to use whatever resolution or display format we want (like Samsung's active glasses formats)!

NVIDIA - really lazy sucks (( 2 whyme466 - I prefer to use fullscreen 3840x2160 screen too... I here think - if I buy the second GTX 1080 for SLI for increase fps in 3D gaming, how much percents is final profit? 15-20% ? Because it isn't enough games can good utilize power of the second GPU

I will say, with games that support SLI, I've gotten 60fps at 4K 3D with minimal to no graphical setting compromises. The only exception is Witcher 3 for me at this point. It seems more demanding by quite a margin than any other game I've played.
