Decline of 3D Vision - Thought you all should know - Dark Times Ahead :(
Thanks, somewhat of a relief. The games I play mostly are from Blizzard. Diablo 3 World of Warcraft StarCraft 2 I'd also like to try Tomb Raider which I seee is a #1 pick from the community. Even though I haven't gotten a chance to try 3D, i've heard fantastic things about the work from the modders here. So from a user who hasn't even gotten to experience your work yet... Thank you!!
I don't know how well the 3 games you listed work, as I haven't played them. But Tomb Raider 2013 is a wonder in 3D, and it works excellent without any community fix. It's one of the games I keep installed to show off my 3D setup. Hope you have fun with your new toys :]

@sdempsey Do not cancel your hardware order (though I would advise an SLI setup maybe later). If it's your first time in 3D, you are about to experience something mind blowing. Use Bo3b's list at the link provided by enthralled, also go to the Helixmod site. These two resources will get you an idea of what games are worth playing in 3D. But also set your depth to 100% (default is stupidly 10%) and add as much convergence as you can stand, than tune it down according to personal taste. Since it's your first 3D experience, even with the sad announcement in this thread you will still have enough games to play until VR arrives or other modders take over. Remember to thank the wonderful people who fixed the games and show your appreciation. I'm sure you will , when you'll see the result (Black Flag is out of this world). @cybereality Things must probably be different in cyber-reality, but here in the real world I have experienced a whole different thing. Either I have not yet found that famous stereo driver you're talking about, or I don't smoke the same weed quality you do (I'll speak with my suplier). Apart from the Batman games, some Lego games, and one or two games here and there (Tomb Raider, Max Payne3, Witcher2, etc), games are a mess out-of-the box. I believe it's a general sentiment in this forum. And it makes us appreciate even more the work of the 3D modding community. I agree that saying "death of 3D vision" is probably premature. But if nothing changes after the last modders step away, I wonder if you could called otherwise. "Zombie 3D" perhaps, since undead are fasionable in the entertaining industry lately. Oh, and to clarify, since I never specifically mentioned in any of my posts: I am not an Nvidia hater. I use their tech, and post on their forums. Without them and their tech my gaming life would have no spice. They could do more, indeed, but ... only money dictates. So I'm thankful for them as well, same as I am for our incredible community. Without Nvidia, there would be no discussion about perfect, borked, or fake 3D.

@sdempsey I currently own 570 games in my steam library I would have to say approx. 150 games are 3D ready or Helix 3D ready I would say another 100 are rated excellent (Tridef or plain 3D vision) That is 250 games right away that can be played also the games are $7 - $15 ex. Castlevania resident evil Devil may cry In the worst case 3D vision is dead you still have many years of 3D gaming and NVidia Fake 3D is better than 2D I currently playing Sniper Elite V2 in fake 3D and I have to say it is excellent.

zig11727 Heck, I even played Sniper Elite V2 in the broken out-of-the-box 3D, and it was still better than 2D and probably better than fake 3d :-)

The fake 3d with the depth hack & holding ctrl F6 slightly can end up with a decent 3d effect. I'm going to be sending a request to Nvidia to make compatible 3d a option on every game. People on here talk shit about it non stop but it its way better than 2d & you don't lose half of your FPS.

Just resumed work on my d3d wrapper. After such a long break I should have som energy getting past some remaining hurddles. Expecting it to grow beyond the current 1,6k lines of code. Wish me luck. Just because we have Three dx11 wrappers don't make my work pointless as each have a different angle. I Believe I'm the only one currently working on a dx10 wrapper as well although development is currently stalled.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?

Truly a dark day for the 3d community. I've been using nvidia gpu's for the last few years solely for 3D vision. I also purchase games based on 3d support & 99% of my games I only play in 3d. My next gpu upgrade will be AMD, better bang for you're buck & without decent 3D vision support, there's nothing to keep me buying nvidia. Have to say a massive thank you to all the modders over the past few years, you have all carried the massive weight of the entire world of 3d vision on you're shoulders, without you're tireless, unpaid, countless hours of work, 3d would have died a long time ago.

I personally prefer playing 2D to "faked" 3D aka compatibility mode. Even in Crysis 2-3, where this "fake 3D" made good enough, i switched off 3D and continued to play this games in 2D. Flat objects with small deep are blowing my mind. Probably it is descent solution for someone with smaller experience in 3D gaming. I cannot play it =)

@eqzitara, @Mike_ar69. One of you told me to re-read his post, but you should do the same with mine. How can I sound ungrateful when I thanked you right at the beginning of my post? Where did I accuse you of anything for quitting the mod scene? I said you had the rights and the reasons to do it. As eqzitara pointed out, I seriously protested when I thought it was time to protest, but right now NVIDIA is trying something after two solid years of totally lame support and no serious updates, so I think we should at least wait before going for the usual amount of all-out attacks from the whole community including me, not just you two. As for the more specific things: do we want to call the Borderlands incident "false advertising"? Fine, but is NVidia the only culprit? No, because I repeat, Gearbox advertised their game as 3D Vision ready all over their websites and forums and they even wrote one of their patches was supposed to fix or improve 3D issues, which obviously didn't happen. As for the broken patches: I've seen several mods getting updated to work with a product and not a product getting patched to work with a mod. This is what I said and I certainly didn't deny the fact that 3D Vision has survived the last two years because of you. Also, I read somewhere on this forum (can't find it right now)that Nvidia was trying to understand why some patches got broken. With that said, I obviously don't know if the issue will be fixed or when. As i read eqzitara didn't want to post here anymore, I made a mess combining generic comments with direct answers to the OP to keep things in order. I apologize. Most of all, I'm sorry you perceived my words as an attack on your modding activity because it wasn't. At this time I just didn't agree with the original message and the ultra bleak tone of several posts. I've never worked for the community and I never said I did, but nothing prevents me from reading guides and try things if I have the time and maybe find out I'm able to do something. Or maybe I'll miserably fail as mike_ar69 said. Thanks again for the great years

I just want to thank the people who have supported 3dVision all this time. I don't know what the future will bring, but your efforts got us this far at least.
