Half baked 3D marketplace 2011 Warning, Rant inside
Rant: Thanks to this half baked 3d situation,
I can only buy a single decent looking bulbfree projector, the CASIO M series. Guess what, everything else is either overpriced, bust, you name it! Really angry now!
Casio looks cool though, apart the fact that under the hood their 3D firmware is messed up beyond belief, and I dont want DLP Link sync signals originating inside the goddamn light engine, because that light is practically wasted light. So I get this half baked projector with an application in mind, and thats not gaming.
Huge shame really , getting tired of this, polarization dependence, DLP Link , going on my nerves! Nvidia shouldnt deal with polarization dependendent stuff, and they should consider paying for firmware (not the opposite way) so Casio can't mess up this bad, wasting light when the projector is capable 120hz per eye? What the ....

Oh, and pretty sure this won't go on for long before someone rebrands those CASIO projectors anyway, so please get a firmware deal with Casio, & pay up.

Haha, a rambling rant from Tritosine2k, half the time you make my brain hurt trying to figure out what you are implying. Several projectors that I've used, have an option in the menu to turn of the DLP Link function by selecting that you'll be using IR glasses. If it's not an option, contact Casio and bring it up with them. Those LED/Lazer hybrids are supposed to be bright, so not sure what's up there, you can always use a high gain screen. Btw, why would you get a Casio when it uses a green phosphor color wheel, isn't that a step back from what you were looking for? I thought you were looking for a strictly LED projector to release, Nvidia supported, that you could use in portrait surround mode. Couldn't wait anymore? What happened to the 5360 you were using? Are you trying to do a dual projector passive polarized set up now? Of course if you had listed the Model#, that could have shed some light on your situation. Also I thought the Casios were only doing 3D at a gimped 1024 x 768 resolution (very well may be 1280x720). Here's a link for those that read this thread, about the Casio color wheel. http://www.extremetech.com/electronics/83786-casios-green-slim-projector-hybrid-light-engine I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with the technology, it was suggested in another thread that using projectors for surround vision in portrait mode could result in overheating and color wheel problems, the debate is still out on that. But it was suggested, that some of the LED projectors coming out, would be more suitable for such an application. For those of you reading this, Google "edge blending". Also have a look at the video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNU6ITOfzV0

Theres a way to double resolution with these new LED projectors & external hardware!
We might have 2560*1440 by the end of the year powered by RGB LED projectors!!
oh I get you missed my topic about surround stuff:

RGB LED is bad, it has diamond/diagonal formatted pixels and other madness, we can only trust japanese build quality now,had enough trouble with these H5360's .
Casio is better anyway because it has PT120 LED , thats very nice, pocket pj's have small led's and bulb red color is weak. I think phosphor wheel is very very cool tech, it can be upgraded too.
its hot!! Especially 2 projectors with time interleaving, plenty trouble though, you have supress DLP link signal manually, I believe its sorta scrambled now, but resolution mapping would 100% work.
(oh some of my 1337 posts were deleted because I posted too 1337 stuff like New Jersey guido vids)

I also know other people would buy this particular DLP projector too , because its as flexible in terms of placement as a particular megabuck LCOS unit, rare feat among DLP.

Awesome review by Cine4home as usual, I love the fact that they are not afraid to open up a new PJ and look inside. Yah, these still somewhat early adoption times of 3D are a pain in @$$, a lot of the confusion has really put a bad light on it and has maken it appear to be more of a fad/gimmick. As it is, it's still hard to recommend the technology to anyone because of the ongoing trials and tribulations associated with it. Incompatibility between hardware, software and vendors. The way 3DTV Play currently is, a person can't really recommend it, being that there are other solutions available. Hopefully it will improve, like the way some AMD boards now have SLI capability. Only time will tell, but is exciting to see new technology finally coming to fruition in projectors that will only get better. I love 3D 720P@60 gaming on a projector, a large screen just rocks! So I'll be anxiously looking forward to a future post of yours, where you have the kinks worked out. Then I can look into implementing it as well.
