I have a normal ribbon SLI bridge and have been satisfied with it's performance thus far in 3D and surround 3D. I know the HB bridge is supposed to help with 4k@60hz and 1440p at 120hz+. Does this mean it would help 3D vision at 1440p cause 3D renders every frame twice? Same question about 3D vision surround. Maybe the answer is obvious to someone with more technical knowledge, seems like it should have a similar effect?

Well you would think but from what I have read thus far SLI makes no increase or helps much with 3D surround..
Now I have not seen recent numbers with the 10xx series cards but who knows mayb e a bit of benefit..
I would like to see some benchs to the contrary to be sure but if we are not posting benchs it is all hearsay..
I believe with the new 10xx series cards you need to use the new Sli Bridge.. either way I would think it wouldn't matter but I think I seen NVidia state this..

Well, I bought the HB bridge. I was doing SLI with 2 ribbons before and there is very little difference between the two. Benchmarks are higher with the HB bridge but by what would amount to maybe a quarter of a frame at 4k. Firestrike ultra with 2 ribbons was 9989 and with the HB bridge was 10010, for instance.

Perhaps there's going to be new SLI bits or some kind of flag in newer profiles that take advantage of the HD Bridge?

Apparently, 2x Ribbon bridges = 1x HB bridge for all intents and purposes.
Also, there does seemt o be quite a difference between single old bridge and HB bridge.

Personal, I have a riser card between my 2 PCIe ports so can't use a hard HB bridge. I was relieved to learn that a soft ribbon bridge x2, which flexes over the riser card, was just as good.
On a potentialy stupid note, I have ordered different brands of similar spec'd 1080s. In theory, SLi and overlocking should work, but it adds another layer of complexity. Let's see...

On a potentialy stupid note, I have ordered different brands of similar spec'd 1080s. In theory, SLi and overlocking should work, but it adds another layer of complexity. Let's see...
