The good thing about the device is that it doesn't have shader issues, works with DX9, DX10, DX11, and openGL, and does not have framerate issues. It's still not as good as 3D Vision when 3D Vision works properly (Batman series), but it is a very good alternative.

The device has no 2d to 3d conversion. It acts just like projector or 3d tv. Feed it 3d material and it will display it in 3d. It also plays any 2d material just like normal screen or tv. But ofc its in 2d. no shader issues, not as good as 3d vision? Im not sure what you meant by that, because like i said the device doesnt have any conversion and you HAVE TO rely on 3d vision or tridef to get stereoscopic 3d to work on games. 3d effect, were it a 3d movie or a game through 3d vision, is really good and natural. Just as good as my 3d vision projector if not better. I actually exclusively gamed on my ski goggle modded hmz-t1 for the past 2 years, its that good. As big fan as i am, i still wouldnt recommend sony hmz to anyone. So uncomfortable, even the t3 model. My modded t1 is much more comfortable than that and i can easily game with it for hours but the weight still sometimes bothers me and at times i feel like i dont want to put that thing on my face. Thats why ive lately preferred to use my projector and id suggest to buy projector instead.

oh yeah, my setup is a 690GTX. The T3 is connected via HDMI to DVI-D and I'm running Windows 7 if that helps. I have the T3 as the only monitor. I already listed my driver version.

Well, 3dtvplay doesnt require emitter, if i remove my emitter and just plug hmz-t1 to my computer, i get 3dtv play trial which is two weeks. You get green 3d vision message, you definitely have 3dtvplay activated. Also when you enable 3d in nvidia control panel, t3 goes to framepacked 3d mode automatically, whether you have 2d desktop, 3d or 2d game on. frame packed mode actually causes me strong eye strain if displaying 2d image, eyes seem "out of synch" and it can look 3d'ish. Also 2d picture on t3 can look very 3d, maybe you are seeing 3d but its in fact 2d image, but frame packed mode and the way device works fools you into thinking its 3d. :D Alright maybe thats a little out there, and it doesnt really matter. Its really great that you are happy how it works!

As long as there isn't any eyestrain dual vision when looking into the background or on the sides of the screen like 3DVision, that sounds good to me.
