New RTX 2070 and 3D Vision
  1 / 2
Hi all... need help! I just got a new rig with an RTX 2070 installed. Problem is that the card is apparently limited to 60hz refresh (?) and only features 2 HDMI ports and a mini-USB - no DVI or Display Port. I tried an HDMI to DVI adapter, but the 60hz limitation was still present. Then, tried adding my old 1060 into the mix - leaving the 2070 in its slot, but removing its six-pin and 8-pin power and using the six pin-for the 1060. The 1060 is getting power, but my ASUS isn't seeing the DVI signal. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

A little more info... The Windows error for the 1060 is code 43. I was having issues with the 1060 before I purchased my new rig, so it is possible that this is causing the error, but I wanted to see if, by uninstalling it then updating the driver, if I could get it to work. But, not having done this before, I thought that might be an issue for the 2070 as I assume that I can't have two different drivers for the two cards existing simultaneously. Really confused, as you can tell :)

Really confused.... The RTX 2070 SHOULD have ONE Display Port at least! 3D Vision will NOT work over HDMI! You need either FULL Dual Link DVI or DisplayPort (if your 3D Monitor doesn't support DP directly, you need a DVI to DP adaptor that supports 330Mhz+ Pixel Rate - Club3D or the like). What is your card exactly? (What manufacturer and model?) From the specs: https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/graphics-cards/rtx-2070/ Standard Display Connectors: DisplayPort, HDMI, USB Type-C™, DVI-DL

Sorry Helifax/all... there is a display port (it was hidden behind a rubber cap that took more than a little force to pull off.) Thanks for the tip on the adapter... I will give that a go with my Asus vg278he.

I ordered 2 more and had returned both of them as they don't work. (The new HW and Firmware revision is broken for 3D VIsion). I would go with Club3D or Startech ones as they work!

Thanks all! I ordered the Accell one last night, and just ordered the Startech version - both from Amazon (returns accepted.) So... both arrive on Tuesday - hoping that one of them will do the job! Man... it's tough - just got Anthem going in CMU and it looked spectacular! No 3D for close to a week... no Bueno! :)

Tried both Startech and Accell and neither worked. I could change the refresh rate in the control panel to 120Mhz, but the 3dvision wizard would either crash or allow me to get through a few of the steps (left eye/right eye test) before reporting hardware failure. I think it might be time to pull out the 2070, sell it on Ebay and snag a 1070 or 1080 :(

That sucks. Is it working in 2D@144Hz? Have you tried a different video output? Can you use 3DFix Manager to bypass the wizard or the bat that is here on the forums somewhere? @TheBigDogma I use Advanced3DVConfig Version 1.4 (must be ran as ADMIN) to bypass the NVidia 3D Wizard Setup. http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2015/10/advanced-3d-vision-configuration.html

Thanks guys, Zig,that was the key to getting 3DV to kick in, but I am getting a weird, blurry image (see attached - happens both in AC: Odyssey in CM and Darksiders 3 in S3D.) Any ideas on what might be happening?

I don't see anything wrong with that image you posted. What exactly are you experiencing?

I think it's hardware related or possibly a bad driver install?. The Accell DP to DVI active adapter must be the issue. See post #9 he also has a StarTech adapter that is not working as well. The pic looks fine to me as well.

Yeah... after I posted the pic, I took a look at it and it was fine. But, the actual image on screen is hard to describe - it's like it's 3D but everything is kind of pushed forward and blurry. I have to believe that this is the double-whammy of the rtx 2070 and Win 10 trying to play nice with 3DVision. So... rtx 2070 is going up on ebay, 1070 gets installed today and the rig becomes a win 7/10 dual boot by the end of the week :) The rush of time will not take 3D gaming from me!!!!
