Playing 3D video on projector
Hi! I'm trying to play a 3D movie, but still didn't find a proper application for that. I'm using a 3D projector which requieres a software page flipping method (acer p1166). My laptop is a Lenovo legion Y520, it has nvidia 1050 Ti. Any idea how to make my environment work? I tried nvidia stereoscopic player, but it didn't have such feature. :( Any ideas?

You need to confirm that the video output is routed off of the Nvidia GPU, if you are thinking of using Nvidia's Player. Look in the PhysX tab. Try Power DVD Ultra or WinDVD Pro 12, both have trials.

Well, on PhysX tab, every display goes under the integrated gpu. That is not cool. My laptop has only one hdmi output, and its display also goes under the integrated gpu. I tried both windvd and power dvd and none of them work... http://i64.tinypic.com/1ttshh.png The best app, that almost works is Potplayer. The only matter with that it sometimes swaps left and right image every 30-60 seconds. I suspect this problem also roots from that it uses the integrated gpu instead the dedicated nvidia gpu. Anyone has an idea?

Solution=Buy a Desktop/HTPC Or buy a VP-3D1 or BD-XL converter Or a HDMI 1.4 compliant 3D Projector

Damn... I thought a 1050 Ti would have been enough... It's funny when I used a pc with ubuntu, with bino3d app on it and on older nvidia card, it worked like charm. And it didn't need any extra gadgets. But on windows, it simply doesn't. Laptop would have been much better...

It's a laptop integration issue. 3D Vision transmission format requires a very tight communication between GPU and display which tends to break when manufacturers don't follow Nvidia's requirements.
Damn... I thought a 1050 Ti would have been enough...
The problem is, you bought a laptop with battery saving power features. It's made to run lean via Optimus. BTW, are you manually manipulating the Optimus application profile as needed for things like video playback?
