Is anyone else experiencing a much higher rate of "failed 3D initializations"? The game starts fine but once it loads, it's in mono, even though the emitter is on. If I alt-tab to the desktop and back in it turns on the 3D effect but with the wrong shadows. Sometimes it fails to init the 3D 3-4 times in a row.

I've already tried everything. No, really. I mean it...
After 1.05 I can load savegame many times without crash (same save), but once I play for a while, game crashes after second load (99%). And after first time I die and load game it's 50% chance it will crash even without loading - just out of nowhere (not in menu).
Sometimes after crash I see DWM (Desktop Window Manager) process using 25% of CPU (the entire 1 core) and PC stutters badly. Only restart helps. Sometimes I see nVidia driver crash & recovery message, sometimes it just exists and I can start game again even without restart. There is absolutely NO definitive pattern.
I don't get it... I've played tons of games with 3D Vision and without, and never had such experience as with Witcher 3... Like Zig said: "I'm spending more time trying to make games work than playing this games" Perhaps I need to buy a shaman drum to play this game... :| Tum tum tum tum...

I'm on 1.05 and installed Flugan's update 0.4 update 2; everything seems to work great so far, except hair. If I turn off hairworks it is fixed--is there any work around that will let me keep hairworks?
(sorry if this has been asked; is there a thread search functionality here? can't find it)

Thanks for the response, no problem, everything looks so awesome in 3D.
One other question; I would like to get HUD depth flush with the screen, because I'm using an LG passive 3d TV and it has a bit of ghosting on high contrast things, the GUI against dark backgrounds is a big offender.
I saw a page or two ago someone ask about this and you pointed them to the Constants section of the INI file. I see "x = -0.2" and tried setting it to "x = 0.0" with no effect. Any recommended setting to make the UI flush? Am I tweaking the right value?
Thanks again

I have exatly the same issue. After a while, 3D gets lost, only way to bring it back is ALT-TAB and back, but with broken shadows and other effects.
Plus: 3d is very unstable for me, be it CM or the latest 3d migoto. Normally it *will* crash after the second re-load at least, be it with 3d enabled or disabled (CTRL-T). But it may also crash at random times during gameplay. It crashed in the inventory screens several times (usually when closing them with ESC), but it also crashed once in the middle of a cards game that I was about to win (very frustrating this one, was losing before three times in a row and already happy that I would finally win...).
I have a GTX980 and newest drivers installed under Win7 Pro. Processor is an i7 3770K. 3D with or without 3D migoto will crash as well as with CM. No or at least much less problems with 3D disabled, which is just a shame. I allready tried to underclock the card with MSI afterburner, and change the refresh rate cap to 30 FPS, nothing helped a bit.

I have dozens of crash logs if it helps. I don't think there's anything we can do. I assume that the problem does not happen without 3D? I haven't played it in mono.
The problem is playing it at Death March difficulty and dying a lot :D Yeah.. masochism. At least I have an SSD and it takes less than 20 seconds to get back in game, but still, 20 seconds here, 20 seconds there...

While I was still trying to play in 3D, I got crash logs every 10 to 30 minutes (CM and 3D Migoto). Then I played four hours in a row in 2D, no crash at all.
Speaks for itself, I'd say...

For me it happens in 3D only. Sometimes when I have constant crashing after reloading game I have to switch 3D off in NV menu and go past the area or event and come back.

Today I tried disabling Aero in Windows 7. After that I managed to play for ~2 hours without a crash, and even loaded a game once. And it seemed that overall performance was smoother, menus opened faster etc (placebo?) However, at the end game safely crashed to desktop on inventory open (first time this way). Dunno if disabling Aero really did the trick, or I was just lucky enough... :)

I remember that it was recommended to close all applications before starting DA:I. I`ve noticed that if I have something else running in background then I`m going to get crash a lot faster then normally. Might be worth to try with Aero as well.

GTA V and W3 have brought upon us a new wave of challenges when it comes to proper 3D compatibility. Welcome next-gen. I can't believe we are mostly on our own to solve all of this and nvidia is doing next to nothing. I know it has been like years for this but it's the first time I get to deal with any major 3D issues (and I've been playing in 3D for quite a bit). I'm sort of pissed off really :)

Well, the 3D Vision Automatic driver haven't seen any coding/improving since it was released in 2009/2010. (This does not include the Compatibility Mode that was added last year? or 2 years ago?)
In any case things "evolved" with the new console push and DX11 becoming mainstream. Still.. I remember DX11 games before that worked AND ARE working flawless in 3D Vision (no shiet like crashing or 3D disabling) Ex: DA2, Bioshock Infinite just to name a few). So.. I believe the devs are doing something that is "unforeseen" and the driver crashes:(
