Its close. It doesnt move convergence correctly. Like if I increase convergence up 1 character model seperates at 1. Shadows seperate at 1.3 (this is an example)

Helix mod 3d vision game fixes

Posted 05/08/2012 11:02 PM
I experimented some more
TBH, I dont think it can be fixed besides doing a ton of work, each shadow is different. I am pretty sure this is what happened with ME3. I can match up convergence so head is perfect, shadows are in sync..... but the rest of the body is off. I think best way is to remove all character shadows but leave normal shadows. You know more then me but just leaving my opinion.

Just writing a quick post, mainly as thanks to a cool modder who helped get word out of Helix's 3D vision fix for me3. He is single handedly fixing some of the nasty textures in me3. The game is strange because some of it looks so beautiful but then you'd find a texture that looks just plain nasty.

If you guys are looking to get the most out of your ME3 3d experience please check out Smarteck's Textures: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/323/index/9735492/1
The textures are compatible with helix's 3d patch. And look stunning in 3D.

He has made over 20 new textures and is continually adding more so please check him out and if you like them follow his thread. I took high qualitity PNS screenshots because JPS does NOT do him credit.

you've right.. I tested it only in the main room when the demo starts... there are other shaders needs fixing, I'm working on it.

Helix mod 3d vision game fixes

I made a post on the Risen 2 forums asking them if they were going to fix the shadow issues with that game when using 3D. I know that thread will get a couple "3D is a gimmick" responses but I would like to know if Deep Silver is going to try and fix it or leave it up to the community to try it.

http://forum.deepsilver.com/forum/forumdisplay.php/473-RISEN-2

For some reason the forum here would not allow me to post the link directly to the thread there. I posted a link to the forum section where the thread was posted. Just look for the one titled "Shadow issue in 3D going to be addressed?"

@eqzitara:
I've updated the attachment in the last post with more shadows fixed. I've removed a doubling light too since I can't fix by only its vertex shader becouse doubling disappear but land shadows become at screen depth... I've cycled through more than 2000 pixel shaders but I can't find the right one. Shadows should work a lot better now, only minor problems with body selfshadowing when the convergence is high... some times shadows can be really time consuming and I've to take a pause...

Yeah i found out I had issues with my hunted release. It seems for unreal engine each "shadow effect" has a pixel shader/vertex shader. I just fixed it in hunted. it had 2 pixel shaders/ 2 vertexshaders. I will go through the pixelshaders and see if I can catch it later.
Don't worry about it, I will take my time with it. I should be able to figure out the rest.

ok great... maybe we should find a pixelshader even for body selfshadowing since its boundary position is correct but internal coords would need fixing... tbh I don't know if the game deserved so much work, I have to agree with you that the game is really boring :) ..I usually like jrpgs or rpgs in general, but the combat system in this game is really not for me.

Doh - I didn't get a single response on my request to Deep Silver to fix the shadows in Risen 2 when in 3D. THis forum will still not allow me to directly link the thread so I can only link the forum.

http://forum.deepsilver.com/forum/forumdisplay.php/473-RISEN-2

FYI - I also couldn't get the game to load my injectFXAA until I did the following:

Install all the files except for d3d9.dll to the game's root folder - Risen 2/

The d3d9.dll goes into Risen 2/system

I wonder if this will be the case if someone comes up with any 3D fixes for the game also.

I'm willing to perform fallacio on whoever fixes GTA4. I'm just throwing that out there. Even if its just the crosshair. /unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I will probably look at it since you dont want something ridiculous like shadows.

Find me a cheat/ save where I can have all weapons.

Thanks a ton. I tried to play around with the mod but wasn't sure what to look for to be honest.

There are a couple of tiers of weapons and a cheat code for each one of them. The first one is "4865550100" which is already on the save and the second one is "4865550150". I uploaded the save to mediafire.

Be warned, this game runs like garbage on the 680.

Also thanks for all of your work with Helix's mod. Its going to bring me many hours of enjoyment. /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
