Yesterday i try the game.... Crosshair/Target icons/action icons are 2D and some type of fog is also 2D (Maybe using chiri's wrapper those thing can be fixed...i will check this weekend).
Overall the game looks excellent in 3D (Those things don't ruin the experience btw). Game have excellent art design, nice soundtracks, and nice atmosphere for a stealth game.
The gameplay for the other hand, still don't convinces me at all (play about 1h 30 min)... It's like playing Dishonored (tbh i expected other type of gameplay in Thief...not another Dishonored game), also the english voice acting is the same guy - i presume - that play the main character in the game DARK (the guy is also using the same tone and accent for this character than DARK, sounds exactly the same)
I don't have the game capped (all max out, except DOF to normal), i'm using 3DTV Play BTW.

I don't know ... after a bit more time with it, I'm not really feeling the immersion ... even with everything HUD-wise turned off ... the screen's edges flash when looking around(at specific areas) and it's lacking contrast, almost seems like there's a greyish overlay at times and there's very few areas that are really 'crisp' looking, not to mention all the 2D elements ... and then there's the issue of 'body-awareness', I get used to or come to ignore that in the majority of FPP games I'm just a pair of disembodied hands, but in Thief I'm a pair of disembodied [s]hands[/s] forearms and [s]feet[/s] ... legs and pelvis. I really liked Thief: Deadly Shadows, I liked being able to switch back and forth between 3rd and 1st person perspective ... and iirc FPP looked just as it should, I didn't feel like I was running around looking like this ...

The game is beautiful on max settings with all the HUD elements off.
I am happy with the 3d except for the fog in the game is kind of bothering me. I mean the fog is even in indoor locations. I wish I could shut it off because I think the 3d would probably be better without it.
Am I the only one that's checked the FPS? Why is it capped at 20 per eye?..
Umm, its not? I checked the fps first thing and its not capped at 20 or 40. I put my settings so i can have around 60fps minimun. If the fps is 40 like you said in you previous post, is it 20 per eye or 40 per eye? Cause i always thought that its 40 per eye.
For example. if i get 120fps in 2d, once i put 3d on its ~60fps. Thats per eye, right? NOT 30(left eye) + 30(right eye) = 60.

Yeah you're right, 3D Vision renders both views from each 'frame', 120hz/2 is 60 frames a sec. per eye. As far as the game/rendering is concerned they happened at the same exact time, they're only displayed sequentially afterwards through the display/glasses.

Same thing for me with 3D on, FPS benchmark:

If only we could turn off VYSNC and still play in 3D.
game is playable with 3D Surround (@6050x1080), but feeling sluggish, too demanding or not optimized? well, Tomb Raider runs smoother with HairFX off, I'd say probabaly the optimization issue.
3D is great, not quite TR, but much better than Hitman: Absolution and Deus Ex: Human Revolution (also AMD stereoscopic 3D titles)

Do you play in 3D surround? Because I have better result in Benchmark avg35fps with my 760Ti OC and i5@3.4Ghz
