What do you guys think of the GTX 295. I have roughly £200 - £220 to spend on a card. I am currently using a 8800GT but need to change because it is not 3D ready.
Do you think this card will suffice?
I am currently using a E6600 and have 2GB ram. If you can think i can spend less and make improvements elsewhere please say so.
Cheers

Donandy I am running a gtx 295 still, still get great performance overall, but seem to have poor performance using sli on 3dtv play, not sure if thats just with these beta drivers or it might be a problem with the frame packing format that nvidia is having.

Gtx 295 will beat a 480, but obviously not 2 480's sli'd :)

Cheers for the reply dave.
Do you think one GTX 295 will be alright at medium settings when running 3d games/movies?

Lol yeah months back but nobody not even nvidia seems to know when. My motherboard is not able to run sli, so if you was to buy a card with a view to upgrade your motherboard in the future what would it be.

Truely none of them impress me atm. Best to save your pennies and splurge on an i7 rig with whatever cards nvidia comes out with next.

Remember, spending money on old technology will only partly work. If you want premium graphics, it comes with a premium price tag. for HL2 im guessing your rig will do it fine, but dont know.

Point is dont waste money on old technology imho. If you cant afford it then save up untill you can?
