Confused: is there a Helix DX11 wrapper?

I've been playing the initial part of the game, and it looks terrific when it's working. For anybody on the fence whether to start playing using the WIP, I'd recommend wait a bit more. This glitch where objects load wrong and are then glowing breaks the game flow in an unsatisfying way. It's not usually too bad to reload a checkpoint, but I sometime have to redo sections. Helix, do you think this glitch is unsolvable? (You have made so many miracle fixes, that I have no sense for what is possible or not.) It's still easily playable with the glitch, if it does seem unsolvable.

I have single GPU and it still can appear randomly. Didn't try to change profile just delete it and it didn't help. First time I saw it i thought it's a wrapper problem, but later find out that this appears without it too(yeah I've played unfixed game in 3D about 20 min to find this out :) ). Probably caused by multiple resources creation(from diff threads). @bo3b: I have few ideas, but don't know yet if some of them will work

I have played the first part and now I have arrived in columbia. So far I've seen a number of "problems". I have no idea how "finished" the wip version is, so I can't tell if it's my pc (3D surround, GTX680 in SLI) or a genuine problem.

I know Im out of my mind to suggest it but maybe Batman AA/AC profile? As we know NVIDIA doesn't exactly use the right profiles. [Borderlands 2] Id normally be the one to try it but I really want to wait till you post it. Its pretty rare I get excited about a game. Ive heard of situations where they needed to make/alter a profile for a game. Such as Witcher 1 which had a weird issue where appendages grew to be a mile long [Fingers,etc] Im not sure whats different on the Alice Madness Returns/ Batman AA/AC profile but they were made to be compatible with a higher-end version of UE3 [Physx]. I dunno, Im just crossing my fingers that the same issue happened in batman AA that lead to that lead to creation of profile. Since its "unique" Like I use three profiles to test games like A,B,C. I dont bother to use alice/batman since the only difference is its profile A with physx. Maybe it sounds like nonsense, but my luck with nonsense is pretty high.... because I generally blame nvidia. I know.. a lot of words. But I really wanted to show its worth attempting. I don't know of many unique profiles and a game that uses a unique profile that is DX11 UE3 screams out to me.

-=Helix=- Dude, HELIX ROCKS!!! SERIOUSLY, MAN!!! THANK YOU!!! I've had this game since day one but refused to play it until now. I LOVE MY KICKASS 3D PC!!!! It just gained at least 3 more years of life, thanks to your DX11 wrapper. I am SO glad someone with the brains and know-how cares enough to do the job that Nvidia should have been doing this whole time. And for free! Like so many of us here, I would pay for this. The fact that it is free is just the icing on the cake (in this case, NOT a lie, ahem). I knew this was coming, but now that it is real, we can all breathe a sigh of relief. The first time I reached out and touched the dial on my ©Pip-Boy I knew there would be no going back. This is seriously the best thing our little club could have been given since the Mass Effect 3 fix. (Yeah, I know it's not done, but still...) Thaaaank Yoooooou!

OK, impressions... Using the second preview Helix patch, I played almost up to the point where I stopped playing in 2D (which was just after meeting the girl). So far I am highly impressed. Quality is at least as good as some games I played unpatched all the way through before having discovered the Helix Mod site (I played the original Bioshock, for instance, with no patch and would not have played in 2D merely due to the imperfections). Many parts are quite superb. I would estimate about 85% of what I saw is "3D Vision Ready." For a work in progress, this is 1000% better than the game was without any modding. It is actually 'playable' in 3D now. Now to the issues I saw (of which I am sure Helix is well aware)... Certain parts glitch on various lighting effects and/or objects, which seems to result in dead spots that begin to fill with tracers (repeating, streaking artifacts of object edges that have lighting that does not correspond to that of the surrounding environment) and/or large, black pixelated areas. This seems to consistently happen with: - water (namely, the scene directly after reaching Colombia) - fire - certain objects, such as ammo boxes of various types (go figure) - waving flags and banners and sometimes with certain characters, such as the large crowd at the raffle. That being said, again, I am still quite impressed. Remember, a week ago, we had a game that 'cannot be fixed' and '3D Vision is dead, go buy an Oculus Rift.' Before this, we had a complete mess that even I could not tolerate. This patch only serves to prove that this CAN be done. So my hat is off to Helix. Progress marches on! Thanks again! By the way, I find it to be rather lame that the Indigomod guys seem to have shut down their production so quickly after hearing of the Helix patch. They had to know it was coming, right? (Perhaps not.) I recall reading Helix's comment about the wrapper over at the blog; you'd think those guys would have been aware of it. Still, why stop after all the effort and contributions, etc.? Ah well. Bummer. Oh, the drama of it all...

@Helix, good to know that there are still some possibilities for fixing it. I think I spoke to soon earlier. When I went back to see the first level on the rowboat it was glitching with the people and oars looking double vision like the unpatched game. Doing a reload from checkpoint did not fix it in 4 tries. Doing a reload from later in the game at the raffle was working fine. So, it may not always be possible to fix by reloading checkpoint. As a debug experiment, since you mentioned multi-threading, I set the CPU affinity to a single core with hyper-threading disabled. This fixed the problem (probably, might be random). When I next tried loading a new game it looked great. Hope that helps. Edit: That definitely helps. I tried two more counter-experiments, where on the same launch I re-enabled the 4 CPUs, and then saw glitches again. Then the counter-counter-experiment of switching out, setting affinity to a single-core, then restart checkpoint, which showed no glitches. Nearly certain that setting affinity to a single core fixes this glitch. (Not a solution, obviously)
Nearly certain that setting affinity to a single core fixes this glitch.
@bo3b: How does one go about setting affinity? Is this done while in the game? I would like to try it out on BI. Can't remember if sure or not, but wasn't there another game that had a similar type of problem? Thanks in advance for any help.

Is it playable single core? Performance wise. I can't imagine it working well for 120hz. Start game. alt tab. alt-ctrl delete. right-click on bioshock infinity. set affinity. Turn off all processors. Select CPU 0 / CPU 1 I'm not saying it works, I'm just saying thats how.

Not a problem, will wait and thank you Helix!

@eqzitara: Thanks for the info.
Right I'm about to give this a go. Is there anywhere official to report bugs or anything? For those waiting for their first play through, DO! the first scenes of Columbia will be stunning the first time in 3D. So wait until the final patch is out. It will be worth the wait. I hope everyone enjoys the game as much as I did. EDIT: Cool, looks amazing! Quite a significant difference to the horrendous 3D of the original. I have an issue where the lighting is dark in my left eye, and right in my right eye... it's a little schizophrenic. Is this one of the bugs you were talking about? I tried re-loading the level to no avail. Haven't tried disabling multithreading as Bob3D has advised. Looks great though, really looking forward to re-visiting Columbia in the 3rd dimention! Thanks again Helix!
