What is wrong with Nvidia these days?

OK this is getting way out of hand.

I did not mean in any way shape or form to start a flame war.

OK, back on topic.

The video I posted was not mine! It's someone else who is suffering the same problem I am.
Now I'm not going to tell you guys that I'm some sort of computer genious, but what I will tell you is this. My problem has been around since I first purchased these glasses.
I have tried ALL DRIVERS, ON FRESH INSTALLS, I do not overclock on any circumstance, that's memory, gpu, cpu.

I don't have any temp monitoring software, I don't have any system diagnostics running.

It's vanilla windows 7 64-bit. I have tried Win 7 32 bit also aswell as 64/32 bit Vista.

I'm happy to agree that it could potentialy be my motherboard. However, when I switch off multi GPU the problem disappears.

I have just tried putting the gpu in a different PCIE slot and its gone far worse than before. Whats more, you can actually cause the flickering by the mouse.

My monitor setup (samsung 2233) consists of one monitor. The flickering is in pitch black or daylight.

I'm convinced it's a driver or hardware error, but in no way is it enviromental. I've tried everything you can possibly imagine.
I know there are plenty of donkeys out there that haven't a clue, but I really do have quite a good degree of knowledge when it comes to setting up PCs correctly.

TrekCZ thank you for the support, but I need you to keep an open mind. Stating that this is not Nvidia's fault isn't helping anybody. I'll be the first to come on here and apologise direct if my assumptions are wrong and indeed it's me or my hardware at fault. But I don't believe it is. Theres a huge thread on this very problem...........

Thanks for the help guys
Dave

P.S my system specs are

4GB corsair dominator
2.66 quad core Q6700
Water cooling on CPU
Asus P5Q delux M/B
XFX 295 GPU
OK this is getting way out of hand.

When did I say that flickering couldn't be software and that it was all nVidia's fault? First you said people are having flickering because something is wrong with their hardware and that noone else has flickering problems. I came to correct your misinformation and said it could also be software or an outside source completely independent of the computer, hardware or software, such as something causing interference with the IR signal.

You stop trolling, people are here are requring that Nvidia should do something about that, that it is arrogant, bla bla bla, but this is not Nvidia issue. It is caused by users incapabilities.

So title: What is wrong with Nvidia these days?
should be renamed to What is wrong with my setup these days?

Really stop trolling and lying about ghosting, flickering and other things.

So we are back to user blaming companies because they cannot find out that it is THEIR system the issue not the product?

I have installed 3D vision on 2 completely different configurations Phenom 2 and i7 920. With different video cards and 3 different OSes and only once I had flickers and it was due to EVGA Precision. That was it.
So, suck it up and accept is not the product but YOUR system and humbly ask for help but coming here ranting like a mad man and spreading crap is not going to earn you any sympathy.
If you think 3D Vision is that bad then try a competing product for an eye opener...

And Ghosting is all on the LCD so enough of that as well.
BTW, with the DLP I can leave Precision running without flickering, it only happens with the LCD.
Regards

Yeah it works for you so there can't POSSIBLY be a problem....you donut /teehee.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':teehee:' />

I love people like you, your so short sighted it's unreal. Because YOU don't have a PROBLEM then THERE IS NO PROBLEM.
Tell me.....why is there loads of threads about EXACTLY the same issue. I suppose ALL those people have no clue either?

FACT is theres hundreds of different varibles as to why this problem exists through hardware and/or software. I mean, how many different combinations can there be, hundreds? thousands? So theres always a chance of incompatibility wether software or hardware. But in your fluffy white cloud you can see past your own PC.

YOUR NOT HERE. I AM. You have NO idea on my expertise in computers nor do you know how many computers I have tested 3D vision on.
So get off your high horse and open your eyes that there is a problem. Not that I give a damn what you think, but I do care about you spreading FANBOIism lies that it's a user error not manufacturer. Troll

So Genius, just because YOU and some others have a problem THERE MUST BE A HARDWARE ISSUE, right? It goes both ways dont you think?
But...do you have an idea of how extremely tiny the percentage of people with issues is compared to the the ones without issues.
I think you are the one that needs to get off your fluffy white cloud of denial and admit you do not know as much as you think you do ..... you come here crying like a baby and expecting sympathy and you are getting none because most users can see what REALLY is going on.

If you prefer to keep thinking you know it all and that Nvidia is the problem then be my guest, you keep going thorugh boxes of Kleneex while I keep enjoying 3D gaming nirvana!

It is the similar as with ghosting.

There is something malfunctioning, but unlikely Nvidia hardware. Nvidia has nothing to do with almost all issues. Therefore I created my beloved thread about ghosting. Nvidia 3D solution is perfect, has nothing to do with flickering or ghosting, is not obligated to do anything with these issues. But they are anyway willing to help users even if it has nothing to do with Nvidia.

Nvidia is fantastic.

typical corporate bs. Ah there's a tiny percentage of users with problems. We've got their money so tuff!!
Well you enjoy your 3D ghosting, polarising, defect riddled games rofl. I've seen enough to put me off for life :)

waiting forever for patches, profiles, hardware to catch up with weakness that is 3D :D

I just love how developers are embracing this tech rofl!

Yes, this is true. It could be hardware, software, or outside interference messing with the IR signal.

It is important we don't always default to one or the other being what we think the problem is. Flicker isn't new. A friend of mine, when he lived in a dorm room, uses 3D Vision, and if his microwave was running it would flicker(I think later he mutated into the monster from Cloverfield). I initially had flicker, and for me it was EVGA Precision. People have had flicker due to issues with their USB output, like too many items plugged in causing interference with the emitter. People have had flicker come from faulty glasses aswell. Flicker is pretty common and the causes are quite expansive.

I think this tech is too early. I'm going to revisit in a couple of years when the developers, LCD tech and Nvidia tech has gotten to grips with it.

For all those with problems I hope you guys sort it out, for the sake of the money you have spent.

I used to get occasional flickering. I remember I didn't originally have it and that is because when I did the initial setup I chose the first box for no other IR emitters in the room. It worked fine. The second install, I chose the middle, which meant I had other remotes, controllers and such in the room, and that is when I started to get flickering. When I installed a third time, I went back to the first box and the problem was gone. This was all done on the same computer/DLP setup.

Second, the problem I see with Nvidia is their timeframes. They state something will be fixed (or released) by a certain date and it doesn't seem to happen. It eventually does at least. I can understand the concern.

Third, reading some of the posts in the section is sad. if I was Nvidia, I would shut this link down. You guys are arguing over who has a working system and who doesn't. Most of us are just looking for some direction of help from Nvidia or other members here. There is no need for the @#$% I see in this section. Grow up and help instead

If you guys don't, I will sick Crimson on you and he is one bad mutha' (shut your mouth).

Peace

wow, sometimes the vast amount of maturity in forums truly blows me away.

fact: some people have flickering.
fact: some people don't
fact: some people see ghosting
fact: some people don't

I used to have flickering and ghosting. I fully admit I was convinced it was nvidia. But reading through the forums and trying many many things I finally found my problem. My flickering is now gone.

For me it was vista itself. after installing windows 7 mine went away. Although in vista I did use overclocking software,{no matter people say it is safe it does cause strange issues in some things. This is just possibly one} for example my nfs games would randomly crash when overclocked, but never when it wasn't. {ea's fault for faulty programming or mine for messing with hardware?}

The only thing I am saying about this is simply try all solutions and realize it may be your own fault for overclocking or running odd hardware, it may also be some faulty programming on NV's part. these things are built to work in hundreds of different machine's with thousands of different configurations. not all are going to work.

Ghosting I sometimes see in the big theaters watching 3d movies. I must say I have seen none since I got my acer h5360. the 3d projectors are very sweet. I did experience a couple flickers with the new powerdvd 10 in 3d mode, but not in any of my games. I think powerdvd is still new to 3d and trying to work the kinks out. It'll get there.

Anyways..... that's my 2 cents take it how you will. overclocking and messing with hardware will cause incongruities. buying cheaply made mobo's and stuff to save a few bucks will as well.

Peace

Hi All

I areally want to get to the bottom of the flickering issues, and trust me, we read these forums.

What I am not able to do is read all forums and find the solutions that most people have found.

I want to remind everyone of the following:

- Environment flicker. There is environment flicker that occurs because of the frequency of the shutter glasses and ambient lighting. What we mean by this is the monitor isnt flickering but when you have the glasses on and are looking at the area around the monitor, you see flicker. We have options in our setup wizard to help make it better.

- Monitor/glasses flickering. If you have this, I want to know if it still exists or if you have fixed it. If you are in Austin, TX or Santa Clara, CA, tell me and I will try to help get a local repro.
