Since there does not seem to be a topic for this here yet, criminally....
The game is now released.
Fix is up.. (thanks Masterotaku)
https://helixmod.blogspot.com/2019/03/devil-may-cry-5.html
Game is ok in CM (set to dx11 in config file) but sometimes cut-scenes make everything go black. Using latest driver. *edit* fixed by turning off full screen optimizations on the executable and / or recommended config file changes. Although the Game sometimes temporarily loses depth. Apparently this is related to AA.
As it stands the Masterotaku's work is completely playable and enjoyable in real 3D but I personally get a lot of crashing behavior in mission 12

I was waiting for masterotaku to create the thread. Here's what I've done so far:
[.]Copied RE2:R fix files to DMC5 untouched[/.][.]In the game directory's dmc5config.ini, set the following:
TargetPlatform=DirectX11
UseOptimizeShader=Disable
UseVendorExtention=Disable

[.]UseVendorExtention otherwise appears when DX11 is used. Enabling both that and UseOptimizeShader didn't noticeably affect 3D visuals (I'm using the latest pre-release 3Dmigoto DLL files to enable them)[/.][.]Some Steam research shows that using DX11 may prevent a game launch crash. DirectX11 cannot be set from the in-game menu[/.]
[/.]
Starting the game puts you in an area with no requirement to do anything (like RE7/RE2), so that's good. The character looks ok but everything else looks wonky based on what eye it is. I assume TAA is doing that. Setting AntiAliasing to FXAA or 1 makes it FXAA_TXAA.

Shit. I read (https://www.resetera.com/threads/devil-may-cry-5-pc-performance-thread.104077/) that you can choose TAA or FXAA + TAA. I guess I'll have to figure out how to fix it. I hope a suggestion Helifax told me a few days ago for a different game can work...
As I said on Discord, the preload didn't cover the Deluxe Edition content, so I have to download 6GB with my super slow speed.
Setting StereoFlagsDX10 to 8 instead of 0x4008 removes these issues. It works probably because of TXAA info I saw in some DMC5 cshaders. While RE2 only has it in cshaders, DMC5 also has it in pshaders. I searched for "temporal" in each game's ShaderCache folder to find them.
I don't think it will be 8 in the final fix. For example, I see double-ghosting in one eye that I saw in RE7, which I know 0x4008 fixes. Or maybe effects will have to be disabled if we don't figure out how to fix/disable TXAA.
I'm going to finish comparing shaders between the RE2 fix and DMC5 next. It should help winnow down the manual fix porting work. For now, here's my d3dx.ini file. The changes I made are wherever a "2019-" comment is and the [Profile] section.

Apparently Capcom leaked their exe without Denuvo accidentaly, in a different branch. I downloaded it now just in case it disappears. They say the CPU is a lot less of a bottleneck (see an example there), and loading times are lower.
CPU usage is usually a problem for 3D, so I hope I can do some comparisons before Capcom patch this out.

Another piece of Capcom crappy port.
In this game I can't even go above 3840x720 resolution. The engine simply refuses.
I feel like vomiting around Capcom games. I don't know a SINGLE capcom game that isn't locked at some weird resolution or something...
(This is even worse then RE2. Same engine, but at least there they didn't enforce some shitty resolution lock).
Never was a fan of DMC, but I said to give it a try.... Refund incoming for this broken piece of shietty tech (The game might be awesome, but their tech is crap).

Ahem (it's a joke!), almost as Helifax said. I'm just where you start controlling Nero :p.
First results after working on it for a bit more than an hour: https://u.cubeupload.com/masterotaku/DevilMayCry5007.jpg
Thankfully, there's a pixel shader where I could disable TAA blending. There's a tiny amount of pixel shaking, but it's hard to notice, and much less when you move.
The basic regex is doing its work, but I need to fix shaders properly, like in RE2. I have also copied the vignette toggle to the new shader.
What I need is time. I'm using an alpha version of 3Dmigoto that can use vendor extensions and minimum precision. So I can't just distribute this, until the official version is released.

No, as a long time fan of this series and having finished all the games. It's easily the best DMC game since 3. (which was the best.) Character action games being probably my favorite genre.
I need to finish the game and then replay it on the higher difficulties to make my final verdict.
But I was underwhelmed in the first few hours. It gets better, and it's imo a return to form for the series.
I'm not a big fan of Nero, which might contribute to why I didn't like the opening hours of the game either.
I did like DMC as well, but this game is easily better. Feel helifax on his frustrations as a surround user, but this series is one of those where you absolutely need a solid 60 fps in gameplay so I never considered it for this game. It's also so damn clean and beautiful and performance in CM mode is great. I have much better performance in this than resident evil 2, but more simple environment design probably accounts for this. The character models look better though, and it's animated so damn beautifully I can't think of anything better in this regard at this point.
On that note the one problem in CM is the depth can change randomly to 2D for the whole scene. particularly when you are close to certain geometry. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

For now I made toggles for TAA, barrel distortion, and vignette. None of them can be disabled in the ingame options in this game. A step backwards compared to RE2, for distortion and TAA.
How can anyone like barrel distortion? It makes the game look like lower than native resolution. Ugly.

The thing that worries me at this point is in graphics options there only seems to be TAA and FXAA+TAA. WTF!
Game is ok in CM (set to dx11 in config file) but sometimes cut-scenes make everything go black. Using latest driver. *edit* fixed by turning off full screen optimizations on the executable. Although the Game sometimes temporarily loses depth. Havent found a solution yet.

How are you getting compatability mode to work. I tried editing the profile by adding in
"Setting ID_0x709adada = 0x37f58357 InternalSettingFlag=V0" (which works well in Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Just Cause 4 and Far Cry 5 by the wall - all with high convergence}, but ti does not work.
I tried Compatabilty Mode Unleashed both on the latest drivers and 418 drivers which also did not work.
Any suggestions?

How are you getting compatability mode to work. I tried editing the profile by adding in
"Setting ID_0x709adada = 0x37f58357 InternalSettingFlag=V0" (which works well in Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Just Cause 4 and Far Cry 5 by the wall - all with high convergence}, but ti does not work.
I tried Compatabilty Mode Unleashed both on the latest drivers and 418 drivers which also did not work.
Any suggestions?
