Cant get 3D working in browser or any video playing apps in windows.
Had my laptop for about 6 months now and still having no luck getting 3D to work in anything other than geforce tech demos and games. Cant get MKV files to play no matter which app i use and having a go with 3d vids on youtube is also a nono.
Im using Chrome as a browser in windows 7 64bit, also tried with the dreaded internet explorer. My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 7720SE running a 650m. Ive tried xbmc, wmp with codecs, KMplayer and vlc. I updated drivers just now but its made no difference what so ever.
Have spent 3 hours solid this morning trying things and searching google but everything i have found is out of date.
Im in a huge grump now and could really use some help :)
Thanks.

Well, it's not super easy to get YouTube playing 3D.
First off, bizarrely, the only browser you can use on YouTube 3D is FireFox.
Go to this test page and make sure you get all green boxes as a start:

Then set your 3D Vision mode to Always, because otherwise you sometimes have to do full screen to get it to work. It's a little sketchy.
Then, even if that all seems good, sometimes it still doesn't work and reinstalling drivers fixes the snag.
Lastly, right at this moment, it looks like YouTube botched their new software rollout, so all videos you watch using 3D Vision can only use 360p. Lame, but doesn't seem to be any way around it.
Not too sure about MKV files, maybe someone else can comment on those. I know that Stereoscopic Player is by far the best player.

Fantastic all fixed then. Just one question tho. Stereoscopic viewer works great when set to nvidia vision but the videos are double height and stretched out. Any tips?

I agree with bo3b. None of Chrome or I.E. are working for youtube 3D video. They tell that HTML5 is not available for the video. Firefox is working fine.
