Requirements for 3d gaming on pasive 3d monitor
Hi I am currently using an Acer HR274H Passive 3d monitor using an ati card and tridef 3d. I would like to update to a GeForce GTX750 2GB card. My question is the card is 3d vision ready, What would I need to play 2d games in 3d on this monitor. I see that 3dTV Play is available to purchase separately which is alright, but would I be required to also buy 3d vision (glasses emitter) when they are not needed for passive monitor. Thanks for your time Paul 14Nov2014

That monitor is supported by Nvidia's Optimize for Geforce Program so they will natively work with 3D vision when you install the drivers with that GTX750 video card. http://www.nvidia.com/object/optimized-for-geforce-3d-passive-3D-monitors.html You just install the GeForce drivers and the option for 3D vision will show up on your Nvidia control panel to enable, press ctrl+T. You don't need an emitter and you won't need 3DTV play either, it will just work.

The Acer HR274H Passive 3D monitor is supported via Optimized for NVIDIA GeForce http://www.nvidia.com/object/optimized-for-geforce-3d-passive-3D-monitors.html NVIDIA 3D Vision is for use with certified monitors and projectors. http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-displays.html 3DTV Play supports HDMI 1.4 compliant Projectors and 3D HDTVs. http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-overview.html Starting somewhere around driver 306, stereoscopic support was dropped for users of Windows Vista. So W7 or newer is required if using a new driver/display/GPU that came out after driver 306. W7 is recommended since many users have reported issues with stereoscopic gameplay and W8.
