Setting up 3D Vision
  1 / 2
Hello there. Been busy setting up new PC. 3D glasses already here, waiting for my graphicscard tomorrow. Maybe this helps for other people too, since not much info to find. How to setup 3D Vision? You need to install driver CD and geforce drivers,...or ONLY the drivers? since it's already included in the new ones. Anything else to know? Since I don'T have a Nvidia card for now,..I probably can't test it yet, but wanna make sure tomorrow is a quick start.

DO NOT use the CD, it has a really old driver on it. Starting with driver 275.XX, the USB Drivers and Stereoscopic Drivers are included in the main driver package. If you do not use any of the GeForce Experience features, then do not install it. Choose the custom install feature and uncheck it. However, there is a setup/user guide on the CD.

It's easy. Just install the last Geforce driver: http://www.nvidia.fr/Download/ Then activate the advanced in game setting: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1038374/3d-vision/newcomer-3d-vision-user-how-to-adjust-3d-vision-in-games-/post/5296374/#5296374 The Geforce Experience software add some interesting 3D recording / sharing. You may not need it, but why not try it. https://www.nvidia.fr/geforce/geforce-experience/ 3DVision setting step by step: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/818888/3d-vision/does-my-laptop-and-tv-support-3d-content/post/4485883/#4485883 Ho, I forget the most important thing, use Helixmod patches ! http://helixmod.blogspot.fr/2013/10/game-list-automatically-updated.html .

My graphics card is finally here!!!!!!!! MY first good one..I don't care that the next ones are coming in 3 months. Anyway,...shops are still open for 2 hours. Big question regarding cable. I read here somewhere that a special dual connector cable with more pins is required. I got ONE Dvi-porst cable, and ONE HDMI cable, that came with my PG278QR. Is that enough? how can I test if cable is proper?

Wow..beeing able to connect DVI now, I was able to try out 144hz the first time. INSTASMILE! Really nice,....but now every game crashes after 10 seconds, with weird graphics errors. I knew I would run into trouble...lol Long way till I can try out 3D for the first time...glasses already here too.

DVI? It's a DisplayPort cable. The PG278QR doesn't have any DVI port. Reinstall drivers with DDU if those crashes happen only in 3D (and also if not). Those crashes aren't normal.

Haha lol, you are right, I missed some technologies. I thought those 2 are the same,..anyway obviously you are right, since it would be hard to write this with a nonexistent connection. Thx for trying to help masterotaku,...but I instantly tested the right thing. It's a zotac extreme AMP...and I immediately tried out to underclock it. Now CPU coreclock is -30,...and now all games run normal. If factory clocks,...crashes after 3 seconds. 3DMARK: 9.827 (GPU score: 10.221) I knew I would have bad luck,...should I send it back? That's why I bough it directly from Amazon. Amazon has no more of these cards now. Buy somewhere else, and send it back? Or would you keep it? I was hoping to overclock a bit,..but that's completely off the table if I keep it.

Trouble with a brand new PC ! Bad luck indeed. My advice: Changed the card, because it will be very hard to sell... If one day you decide to. Amazon are probably the best reseller, and not that expensive. 1080Ti RoundUp (several cards tested at the same time) https://us.hardware.info/reviews/7385/20/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-ti-round-up-which-one-is-the-best-overclocking-results-and-sli https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/3141-the-best-gtx-1080-ti-graphics-cards-designs-asus-vs-evga-msi https://www.gamingscan.com/best-gtx-1080-ti/ https://www.techradar.com/news/the-best-nvidia-gtx-1080-ti-graphics-cards 1080Ti infos: (Mind the warranty time, yours was 5 years !) Try my Trines 3D videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/DugomYT/videos
Thx for the list,...I will return the card,, since I know that 2Ghz could be possible. Also I wanna sell it 100%. Maybe buy a new one soon. The resell point sold it to me. :) I just started Prey the game, and if I press strg+T nothing happens, same in your videos, for me it's a 2D video in youtube. But when I started prey, I got that green message.

When I check coreclock in msi afterburner it says that my card boosts up to 1987-2000? is that normal? Also strange when activating anti-aliasing in Nvidia testapp then I got weird flickering double pictures,...really hurted my eyes the first time..lol

I just downlaoded 3Dplayer demo,..and your video. After intalling codec pack, player runs now...but 2D. I tested all the layout setting..like frame-sequential, but video does not change Update: I tested PowerDvd and it works now. The picture is strange...hard to focus something, could not be playable for me like that...
