I want to further clarify the HUD issue.

When the game first starts the HUD appears correctly. As soon as you move, the HUD appears corrupted and I no longer see the green, yellow, and blue bars in one eye.

Can anyone else confirm that?

Same problem for me.
Mouse pointer in the menu is also only seen in one eye for me.

I´m using 285.62 drivers.

I just found out what caused the problem with the hud.
Setting AA to FXAAx2 or FXAAx4 causes the colors on the hud to be seen only on one eye.
Select FXAA or none, then it works.

Thanks for the details! I will try that now and also get in touch with the developer.

I love the 3D Vision community! Thanks for the help guys, FXAA was the culprit for me.

I adjusted it down and it works fine.

I created a 3DVisionLive.com gallery for Hard Reset. http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/3DVisionGames/album/4eb305b93785018c10000029/

Hard Reset is now perfect in 3d, minus only one thing I've noticed - volumetric smoke will ghost against your gun.

Crosshair is 3d, HUD is 3d, shadows 3d, everything good except for that. If you've been holding off buying this game and you're a fan of first person shooters...

Hard Reset and BF3 have the same defect. The reflected light off of vericle surfaces looks very different right eye vs left. Not off every surface, but enough to ruin the 3D experience. For example, in the opening scene of BF3 in the subway car: There's an overhead light which reflects light off a verticle surface next to the light. Bright light seen in the right eye, almost no light seen in the left eye.
Only game I've seen this bug previously was Medal of Honor 2010. The fix was to turn down the shaders all the way. There's no such setting for BF3/hard reset, so there's no user fix. This screwup is so severe, it ruins the 3D so if it isn't fixed I'll be playing in 2D. (MoH did not have this defect with TriDef 3D even with shaders turned up.)

I got this game the other day on Steam. It looked great in 3D before, I can't wait to see how it looks with the 3D Vision patch.

Perfect? I don't think so! Checkout this defect, makes the game unplayable in 3D. BF3 has the same screwup. the screen shot is one frame of video, left and right eye.

Hmmm, there might be something wrong with your video settings or driver version. Here is a screenshot I took of that same area and I don't get that defect. I know using FSAAx2 or FSAAx4 can cause some issues so I set my AA to use FXAA but this looks like something else.

Hopefully you will be able to resolve it - the game looks great!

My drivers are 285.62, and my 'wrong' setting is shaders set to either high or medium. With shaders=low, this particular example is corrected just as you say, but there are still many places where the screwup exists. So shaders=low is only a partial fix.
I'll post more screens where shaders=low doesn't fix.
BF3 has the same defect, but there is no fix cause there's no shader setting.

This issue isnt reproducing for me with my shaders set to high. It looks like an issue with FXAA. What level are you set at?

I think it looked a lot better *before* the patch. As far as I can tell, all they did was lock the convergence and now the 3D effect is weak-sauce.

Why do developers insist on watering down the 3D effect and treating us like idiots? We can handle the convergence, really.

In my case this game look just stunning. Great depth and because of dark atmosphere there is no crosstalk at all. I am showing this title to everyone who want to see power of 3D Vision.

Game looks amazing in 3D Vision.

To unlock convergence after the 3D Vision patch you have to go to the Windows task manager, then go to Services, then hit the Services button on bottom-right corner (to go to the extended services mode) and look for NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D Driver Service.
Stop the service.
Run the game.
When you get to the game menu, use Alt+Tab to minimize the game and go to Windows.
Start NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D Driver Service.
Alt+Tab to go back to the game. Converge is unlocked now.

EDIT: if you do what I wrote above, you will unlock convergence but shadows will be broken. Anyway, I think the game looks great with the given default convergence. Playing with depth at 80% here.

Cheers.

The new patch 1.21 is now available and lets you select FXAAx2 or FXAAx4 with 3D Vision enabled and no rendering issues.

Enjoy!
