if you are looking for a graphics card with good performance, I'd recommend getting a GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB instead of the new 9600 GT (I don't think there is a 9800 GT card - yet). Here is a complete review with a lot of benchmarks comparing the new GeForce 9600 GT card with a few 8800 cards:

PS. If you do get the 8800 GTS card and are using Windows Vista, do NOT install the latest BETA drivers (169.28), but instead get the last stable (WHQL) driver release (169.25). After replacing my old 8600 GTS (which was OK for non-stereo but just couldn't cope with requirements for playing games in high detail at 1680x1050 in 3D stereo) with a new 8800 GTS 512MB model, I have experienced several "blue screens of death" while using the latest BETA drivers on Windows Vista. I've now reverted to the last stable release (169.25), and so far (knock on wood) things are working fine.
EDIT: It looks like the first 9800 cards are planned for release in March. I wonder how the 9800 GX2 will perform compared to the 8800 GTS. And, even more important, will there be working 3D stereo drivers for the new 9-series of graphic cards?

Well I'm tired of such unconfirmed release dates. I think people just make it up on their own to fool others and they don't even give a reference/source of such news.
So now I give you guys a new CONFIRMED date. The new stereo drivers will be launhed on 21st march. I have tested beta of these drivers and they work well with crysis, bioshock and cod4.

It's just unfortunate that Zalman is ruining it's credability by sending people emails with confirmed dates and then not meeting them.

This is the latest email i got from zalman last night if anyone is interested. Christ they can't even get their own support web pages to work properly so what chance have we got.
Anyway for those who are interested. This came from Zalman Support (ygjung@zalman.co.kr )
Dear Valued Customer,
We would like to first thank you for your interest in ZALMAN. I apologize for the lack of support at this time and would like to provide you with accurate and prompt information, but we are unable to determine from the support inquiry which cooler and motherboard you are referring to (we are in the process of fixing the support inquiry form). If you are talking about the new Trimon Vista drivers, we are working closely with NVIDIA to deliver them to you as soon as possible and ask for your patience in advance. We do have an imminent expected release date, but I do not want to “tease†you with it. It is very soon – I will tell you that much. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. I will notify you personally when it is released. (granted that it is the Trimon Vista driver you are looking for)
Best Regards,
Support/ZALMAN
The trouble is that they have been telling people the same crap for ages. They ask for our patience ? are they kidding how many months do they expect us to be patient.

if you are looking for a graphics card with good performance, I'd recommend getting a GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB instead of the new 9600 GT (I don't think there is a 9800 GT card - yet).

Oruq

Well I'm tired of such unconfirmed release dates. I think people just make it up on their own to fool others and they don't even give a reference/source of such news.
So now I give you guys a new CONFIRMED date. The new stereo drivers will be launhed on 21st march. I have tested beta of these drivers and they work well with crysis, bioshock and cod4.

It's just unfortunate that Zalman is ruining it's credability by sending people emails with confirmed dates and then not meeting them.
The nvidia head of stereo development said in a bbc interview that Zalman drivers are going out "in a couple of weeks". That interview was on February 21 or 22nd.
Well if he is messing people about it isn't helpful or appreciated. At least when me and Oruq have posted dates we have based this on emails from Zalman Support where they specified a date.
