Yes. The emitter is the same with both glasses and is universal. 3D vision 2 uses a different usb cable though [micro-usb]

But as far as I know, Lightboost also works with with 3D Vision 1 glasses, so the only "real" difference between 3D Vision 1 and 2 is the glasses (in 3D Vision 2 glasses the lenses are a bit bigger and the overall design is a bit better and they should also be a bit more comfortable to wear and to use with headphones, or at least that's what I've heard). I myself only have the 3D Vision 1 glasses (wired ones) and a monitor which doesn't have the Lightboost tech, so I can't comment on the differences between the two. I'm quite happy with my wired glasses (they're quite comfortable to use with headphones as they don't have a battery which makes the frame a lot thinner and lighter so they're basically like normal sunglasses and quite comfortable to wear) and they also don't need the infrared transmitter as they're connected to the pc simply by plugging them into an usb port. So if your monitor has Lightboost, you're good to go with either generation glasses and even if you don't have Lightboost, both glasses should work fine. I've heard from many people that own both, the 1st and 2nd generation glasses and many seem to prefer the 1st generation glasses over the 2nd. But all of that is up to ones personal preference of course. I've decided to use my wired 1st generation glasses until they break or if something comes out that has some significant advantages over my current glasses (as the small "improvements" on the 2nd generation glasses don't really make me wan't to waste money on a new pair).
