GTX 970 4K 3D VIsion gaming success with LGUB850V Passive TV

@Conan481 off topic but regarding witcher3: I play it with a single 980 TI on 4K TV, desktop 3840x2160, ingame resolution set to 2560x1440, nearly everything on ultra (incl. aa and hair works!) and get about 28fps. i really cannot see much of a difference between resolutions (ingame) 3840 and 2560, but its a huge performance boost when lowering from 3840 to 2560! mentionable that TV info says "3840x2160" and not "2560x1440"? maybe its only rendered in 2560x1440 and upscaled to 3840x2160? and I only tested witcher3 for a few minutes, running around in the first village. maybe the performance will get worse when entering city or fighting many opponents? BUT: until now I only tried it with tridef (original profile from tridef). looks good with tridef! will test it with helixmod too.
Has anyone noticed a change in ghosting from when migrating from 3DTV Play baseline to EDID mod?
checked this with the Panasonic: the quality in 1920x1080/24 (3DTV Play) is generally worse, but I can say that ghosting was better (not perfect) before migrating to edid-mod.

If I choose 1440P TV shows 3840x2160 but the image is not aligned with the polarised filter and I don't get any 3d. So for me if I use Nvidia 3D I either have to use 2160p or 1080P. With tridef is a different story as it scales automaticly to desktop resolution and it is very good this way.
Hi guys, anyone here running SLI?
I have second 980 Ti, but I do not normally run SLI - I prefer quiet PC (with single overclocked, hybrid cooled GPU) and find 20-30 fps gaming acceptable. But, based upon your question, I set up 2-way 980 Ti SLI in my PC. Only tested one game - Dragon Age Inquisition (Witcher 3 did not work correctly under Windows 10) - but SLI seems to work. With one 980 Ti, my test game scene averaged about 25 fps, while the 980 Ti SLI averaged about 40 fps, same scene (with some 3D artifacts that did not exist with single graphics card). Used Windows 10 358.87 NVIDIA driver for testing.

Have you tried renaming the HDMI input to PC or Gaming?/ or using a specific input if one is recommended in the owners manual? In some cases Nvidia doesn't handle the second data block of the EDID correctly for whatever reason and causes a "color bug". (just throwing this out there, it might be a thing of the past) It was first reported at analogbit in 2008. Butmuncger/(Mocca) and Skyguy3D found that by using the Zalman EDID the colorbug went away, this is because it doesn't have an extension block. I would assume that Nvidia has fixed this by now. http://analogbit.com/2008/07/02/fixing-dvi-hdmi-displays-due-to-edid-bugs-on-nvidia/ http://www.mtbs3d.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=115&t=13821 The S27A950D is notorious for having bad ghosting if the overdriver or whatever it's called is not turned off.

Yes, Samsungs require that you use a specific input and relabel it to "pixel mode" if it's one of the models that supports a "checkerboard" format. Other TVs might require the user to rename the input to either "Gaming" or "PC" so that post processing effects are turned off. Such as over/underscan, interpolation etc..., this helps reduce lag and ghosting. Models vary, refer to your owners manual. In regards to the colorbug, look at the last two pics in the first post. Disregard his rhetoric about checkerboard on an LG Passive. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/492091/3d-vision/lg-47ld950-3dtv-100-depth-and-no-ghosting-sweet-33-/

Also, it seems like witcher 3 is now working under Windows 10 according to game thread. If anyone with SLI could confirm the Witcher 3 works in SLI that would be amazing and save me the hassle of returning a second 980 and a TV. thanks

Sorry Guys, thanks again for clarification. I am going to take a 3D TV 55, as I said in the past. Your are have suggested to me the model LG55UB850V. I ask itself I have to consider something new, before buying. Reading on this forum, almost every one of you tried different 3d tv. Then it is final? LG55UB850V? (now I also gtx 980 sli, can change something in the choice model tv?) Thanks again :)

But this problem of contrast, brightness, and stuff. This problem is so pronounced? I ask, at this point. What alternative is there, that is not OLED Thanks again

I didn't have UB850V or UB950v but I have the curved one from the same category UC970V (curved) and the Image quality is good, 3d is also very good. Between the two mentioned I would go for 950V because it has better up-scaling. At the moment I didn't see a better affordable alternative on the market. I will switch to OLED when the price is right but until then this LG passive TV is the best choice. PS: now this thing with mediocre blacks and poor and bad contrast is more bullshit than true. Of course they are not good if you compare them to OLED or Plasma but otherwise quite comparable to the competition (it might be cases where is visible in different test but in reallife condition the same).
