Best 3D gaming experiences in recent times!
  1 / 2
Yes, I know we already have those „best personal 3D games“-threads but I think it is time to collect some up-to-date-opinions. We all know that people especially those who are new to the stereoscopic–gaming-community are looking for advice which games stand out 3d-wise and to be honest I think we all like those threads…at least I do ;-) This question should not be restricted to 3D Vision only we should include gorgeous Tridef-experiences as well. Here are some 3D-games that really impressed me in recent times (partially only playable with helix-fix): - Tomb Raider (2013) - Batman Arkham Origins - Far Cry 3 - Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Resident Evil 6

1) Sonic All Star Racing - works perfectly rather surprisingly! 2) Dead Space 3 - with Helix mod (flares off) Both played on 120" Acer 5360 (which was going to be scrapped till I realised it had a 5 year guarantee - Thank you ACER!!) Games run with the Depth.bat faking a 25" monitor and convergence set by aligning on screen avatar with pressing f6 until a perfect 2 rendition is seen - then going 1-3 f6 notches past that to give pop out - people love the pop out effects!!!

- Tomb Raider 2013 (My favourite of the year) - Lego Marvel Superheroes (I am a sucker for Lego games nowadays) - Overlord 2 (I have no idea why this game is not more popular) - XCOM Declassified (OK am currently playing this, but it looks great with eqzitara fix) - Outlast - XRebirth (yes its been slagged off to high heaven for not working, but (with my modest little fix to help) the 3D is really good - Metro Last light - Batman AO - Pinball FX2 - GRID2 I'm gonna stop now though... There are loads of others I think look great but I don't like playing (Remember Me, RE6, Castlevania,...). Whenever we have these threads I always get confused why people complain there are not enough games that play well in 3D...

I really am liking third person games more then first person games nowadays since they are a bit deeper as far as gameplay/story. Not to mention they allow you to go crazy with convergence which while might not be realistic looks awesome. So my lists are a little stacked in favor of third person. Anywho, so many games so I will just say ones not mentioned[obviously though Tomb Raider/The Bureau] DmC Devil May Cry http://www.3dvisionlive.com/ugc/25555/dmc-devil-may-cry3d Remember Me http://www.3dvisionlive.com/ugc/25503/remember-me-3d Enslaved http://www.3dvisionlive.com/ugc/25404/enslaved-odyssey-west-3d Shadow Warrior http://www.3dvisionlive.com/ugc/25557/shadow-warrior-3d Should pick up Shadow Warrior at least when you see it on sale imo. Dev did a good job, great graphics and built in 3D support.

For me there are a lot of games that look great in 3D. Currently, I'm playing Enslaved: Odyssey to the West (eqzitara mentions it in his above post) and it's simply gorgeous in 3D. Games I plan to play in 3D but not had a chance yet are: - Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons [I heard this is a jaw-dropping game to play in 3D and that the story and gameplay are excellent] - Tiny Brains: Another game I heard was great in 3D and has a lot of fun gameplay. - Upcoming (believe it's released tomorrow?) The Walking Dead Season II However, with all that said, there is one game I would truly love to see come to the PC and 3D vision ready. That game would be The Last of Us. Unfortunately, we will probably never see it on the PC. But, wow, couldn't you just start to imagine what TLOU could look like with hi-res textures and it being in 3D vision ready playable with high depth and convergence! Heck, just thinking about it gives me a 3d orgasm. We can dream right?

Good to hear people been playing Enslaved, I really didn't think too many would due to age / Its got a lot of bad press as a port *not really, it doesnt have options but it is scaled up for pc as is all UE3 games*, and nvidia inspector aa makes a huge difference. 1080P @ 2MS-SGSSAA + optional sweetfx = Amazing, my only minor nitpick is self-shadow qualitity. Tiny Brains isn't really "amazing" in 3D imo. I mean it will add to it a bit but meh.

- Tomb Raider (2013) this was my favorite - Shadow Warrior getting one of them blossoming tree limb's sticking 6' out of your screen is fun - Crysis3 while not as fun or deep as the 1st two it has a 'polished' look to it I've bought and installed dozens of games that game play or visually (or both!) I did not play more than a few hours of and somehow did not "hook" my interest in enough for me to finish. I avoided a number of games that might be visually interesting but I ether suck at the genera or don't like the genera. I've actually been quite busy with other stuff so far this winter and its been over a week since I've even fired up my gamebox and screen. (sigh) If there was a "Stereoscopic 3D Game of the Year" I'd vote for Tomb Raider2013 - its what I use now to demo my S3D setup for friends and family that can't seem to understand my attraction to gaming in general and doing it in S3D completely escapes them until the see a demo.

When I bought TR, it worked flawlessly for me at max everything except DOF+MB+HAIR but I didn't finish it, I went to play it again recently and it is a slideshow now. I've appied the 8.1 mouse fix, apparently it started being like this a few driver releases ago for 600 series cards. Far Cry 3 Batman : AO Evochron Merc (I think it was this year it ended up in my pile) Path of Exile I hope Project Spark ends up with a fullscreen mode or something that allows 3d vision to turn on, that has a lot of potential (in the beta). Oh Cube World is great.

@eqzitara - I bought Enslaved for 360 days before the PC announcement, so I'm waiting on a decent sale to pick it up for PC. But I'm definitely looking forward to playing with your fix, so thanks in advance.

My 3D is out of commission for six weeks while I wait for my melted-up Acer H5360 projector to come back from repair. The last games I played in 3D were Outlast, which was fantastic. I also played through most of Deep Black: Reloaded, which looked decent in 3D, but was probably the most difficult and frustrating game I've ever played. Playing on Easy, I gave up on the "Taking Charge" level - it's impossible. Definitely not one of my favorite games, but had to be mentioned. I have some newer games I really want to play whenever I get my projector back. I'm going through 3D withdrawal while playing games in 2D on my monitor.

Tomb Raider and Castlevania. Also really enjoying replaying ME series in 3D. 3D effect is not as impressive as the titles mentioned above, but I just love ME and depth adds to experience

Learning that it had been ported to PC was a great surprise out of the blue. Learning that you had fixed it was another. I'll most definitely be buying it on the xmas sale and playing it soon!

Granted, it's not a major AAA blockbuster but heck, I thought the characters and voice acting were well done. Combine that with Eqzitara's fix along with the game's third-person pov one can easily crank-up the depth and convergence for some gorgeous eye-popping 3D! The platforming and the camera can get a little wonky at times. However, if you have played any of the Prince of Persia games it doesn't take very long to get the feel of direction and movement down.
