Why was this topic (see https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/926969/it-has-begun-first-rift-deliveries-starting-tomorrow-/#4844873) removed from this forum?
Is the technology isolation going to the extreme that no VR discussion can occur in this forum? I noticed that D-Man11's driver description for 364.72 omitted any reference to its VR support...
In the big picture, a game designed for good 3D immersion (for example, no shader problems with shadows, AO, light shafts, and so on) should render well in both VR and 3D Vision environments - independent of the actual display technologies. The powerful, unique 3Dmigoto toolset focuses primarily upon shader repair, and only recently started to consider display environment options like SBS. This forum is the perfect place to blend 3Dmigoto knowledge with emerging display APIs for the various HMDs releasing this year. Note that Sony indicated that PS VR may be supported on the PC in the future, as well.

THANK GOD, the Forum admin moved it to the right place... Is in the VR forums, where it belongs to;)
3D Vision is different then VR and that is why there are forums for each.
Just because one thing works with 3D Vision Automatic + our fix, doesn't mean it will work on VR. Most of our fixes rely on 3D Vision Automatic heuristics provided by the driver and it less likely to work on a VR headset (without the 3D Vision Drivers + 3D Vision emitter present anyway).
So, each should be treated SEPARATELY;)

Its really not a huge hassle for anyone whose interested in 3D vision to look into VR section as well.
People have made it painfully obvious that they want stuff on VR displays... MAYBE it will happen. MAYBE not.
As days come where people get there "kits" lets not turn this from painful obvious to excruciating where people who are "ALL IN" vr. Try to beat it over everyone elses heads. There are a few of these popping up in last few days already.
If people want to show the importance of VR to nvidia... VR section is place to do it. Whether to pressure them to get 3D vision on VR displays or VR SLI ball rolling. Thats the main reason why there was never a modders forum despite being asked.
This is the place to get nvidia to notice about 3d vision.
Thats the place to get nvidia to notice about VR.
TBH, I see 0 initiatize to get 3D vision onto VR besides people coming to modders.

I made two driver threads..
one in the 3D Vision sub forum for 3D Vision users...
and one in the VR sub forum for VR users...
In the VR thread, you'll also see that I made no mention of 3D Vision profiles.
VR and 3D Vision are two different things.

Thanks for the clarification, helifax.
I still do not understand why NVIDIA isn't encouraging (and sharing) more information about the compatibility of emerging Rift/Vive 3D drivers and games, and their interaction with 3D Vision drivers (like Automatic operation and SLI support). I would think NVIDIA would try to break down barriers to encourage broader access to the GREAT 3D Vision library of recent games.
As I mentioned in the other thread, the only new 3D display devices appear to be HMDs or 4K OLED TV (no new projectors, no new monitors), so the future of 3D displays is likely to be with a HMD device...
By the way, I received a notification that my Vive pre-order was being processed over the weekend. I should have both devices next month, but my PS VR will not ship until October, in time for PS4.5. An interesting initial Rift review, see http://www.gamespot.com/articles/oculus-rift-review/1100-6436048/.

Awesome! Thanks for the Link;) I actually read it earlier today;) And the review looks awesome! (Hardware-wise) I was actually never interested in the "launch-software". Everyone who is a 3D Vision user knows by now that with the official support from Developers and Nvidia, our 3D Monitors + 3D Vision kits would gather dust! Nvidia tries to provide the best they can but in the end IS THE AWESOME MODDING COMMUNITY THAT MADE 90% of the games 3D Vision Ready (or as close as we could!)
What I was more interested is the actual hardware;) and it looks awesome! Still not the equivalent of a 3D Vision Screen, or let alone 3D surround - quality wise - but awesome (my 3D Surround isn't going anywhere soon anyway ^_^)
I bet we will be able to get some of the 3D Vision fixes over to VR! (it will probably require to have a 3D Vision kit - for 3D Vision Automatic ?!?! I don't know about the DX version, but I believe I will be able to make a "VR-friendly" version of my OpenGL wrapper for the VR - for the few fixes I made for OpenGL games).
We need to wait a bit, once the hardware can be purchased "freely" (not through pre-orders and the like) and once everything settles down;) Kinda how 3D Vision was at the beginning;)

I do agree we can easly go to VR subforum if needed, not vice versa. People who is looking for the info about VR can miss smth important if postin VR topics here
