I recently received my bundle and have been playing World of Warcraft with it. So far, so impressed. I installed everything off the CD that came with it, and it worked fine.
Then last night I decided to update my drivers. I installed the 181.22 graphics driver and the 1.04 3D driver, and logged back into WoW. Upon attacking something, I noticed that my (default blizzard UI) action bar was not shading out abilities on cooldown like it usually does, so it became difficult to tell when something could be used and when it couldn't be.
I was wondering if anyone had any problems that were similar to this with these drivers or if I was missing something.

Hi
THe first poster said it too - did you install the latest WoW patch first?
Also, we are now uo to CD 1.05 build. I would recommend updating to that.

I installed the 1.05 3d driver kit, with the 182.05 graphics driver.
Again, I did download the patch where Blizzard said they fixed this. I wouldn't be able to play the game without it, blizzard doesn't let you onto servers without updating. And it was working with the old drivers from the CD that came with the bundle.
Perhaps the new drivers have re-broke whatever they fixed, but then again I don't see any other reports of this on this forum. So I'm stumped.

Hi
Can we get a rundown of your entire HW config?
Also, with the CD 1.05 build are other apps working in 3D?

I'm not entirely sure what information you're looking for, but I'll start with what I can provide and hopefully it will be what you need.

As far as other games, CoD4 seems to work okay, with maybe a little bit of ghosting against bright images in game. Generally it's pretty good, though, and everything works as it should. It's mostly just the WoW action bars I'm having trouble with. WoW itself looks okay, with the exception again of some ghosting against bright images in game, it's mostly just the action bars that are causing problems.
Also, if it helps, it seems like the shading for the action buttons on cooldown is moved a few spots to the left and shows very faintly, like a ghost image. So, for example if I hit something that is placed on action button 3, a very faint image of the shading that should be on the button shows up an inch or so to the left of the beginning of the action bar. I hope that explanation makes sense, it's sort of hard to describe.

No add-ons, and I'm not sure what a command line option for graphics is, so I'm guessing no.

He's probably talking about over-ride switches that you can add to the executable to alter things at runtime (ie, switch to opengl instead of directx). If you aren't sure what he's talking about, it's pretty safe to assume you aren't using any.
Something to try as a solution to your action-bar cooldown display problems would be to see if an add-on fixes the situation. I use a pretty heavilly modded UI, so I never got around to playing much with the stock UI + stereoscopic. However, I do use "omnicc" to display cooldown timers on my action-bars, and this has been working fine for me since I started playing with WoW+stereoscopic. Assuming there isn't a bigger problem effecting you, and that there is something going wrong with the blizzard cooldown display, this should at least get you back to what you want until a proper solution comes along.
Here's a link if you want to try it out for the short-term:

Not sure if its what the OP is talking about but for me the NEW drivers makes my bar/map very very hard to see I went back to the older drivers where it dont touch my bar and my map looks normal. This has NOTHING to do with ANY kind of MOD anyone has.

Thanks for the suggestion, it's something I thought about doing as well, and am thinking about even more now. I re-installed the drivers that came with my CD, and now I'm getting an unusual amount of double-vision, which I'm pretty sure is called ghosting around here (just making sure I'm using that term right).
So I'm sort of at a loss. I guess I might just update to 1.05 again and go with omniCC unless I hear of a fix otherwise.

Which old driver did you use? I have tried both CD104 and 105 and have the problem with both. I use Dominos for the action bar replacement and have noticed the CD problem. The normal CoolDown works when it actually 'hits', but on a miss, the icon stays lit instead of dimming until I can use it again. Also my map is totally unusable, the 2 images is extremely far apart and not viewable as one image. I guess I can always go back to the drivers on the CD that comes with the kit, is that the old ones you are using? Thanks

Hey.. I believe 181.20 stereo drivers.,, yep thats the one. Got them on my desktop now. What I dont like is I looked at my FPS it showed 81fps. Turn on 3d 13fps.. OMG thats awful. I turned down some stuff and lmao it went to 10. I hope NVIDIA is reading this. They really need to optimize this game.

Thanks,
Pdq

Hi
THe first poster said it too - did you install the latest WoW patch first?
Also, we are now uo to CD 1.05 build. I would recommend updating to that.
Finally, do you have any WoW add-ons installed?

Yeah, I had already downloaded the latest WoW patch and as such I wasn't having the problem anymore.
I'll try looking for this 1.05 build.
And no, no add-ons.
Thanks, I'll update this once I find this 1.05 build.

Yeah, I had already downloaded the latest WoW patch and as such I wasn't having the problem anymore.
I'll try looking for this 1.05 build.
And no, no add-ons.
Thanks, I'll update this once I find this 1.05 build.

Copied most of that from the Nvidia control panel. Anything else that you need?

Are you using any command line options for Graphics or add-ons for WoW?

Thanks
Rick
