I had to upload my Texture folder , FXAA, INI's and (Control Panel only for Nvidia's high end Cards users) settings .
All credits for Textures goes to Skyrim modders ( there are to many mixed HDTex-mods to remember which ones are which!!) I just collected the best textures in my opinion. I guess you will figure it out how to install these rars!

All texture needs to be put in the main Texture folder in your Game/Data/Textures directory

Meshes folder in Game/Data directory

Four FXAA files in the Game main folder

Skyrim.ini , SkyrimPrefs.ini in you Users/user name/My Documents/My Games/Skyrim directory
And last but not least if you are going to install Textures, you have to download/install all archives to make them work properly.

I'm getting a steady 50-60 fps with 3D Vision in Skyrim (with some mods, mostly graphical ones) with my two 460's. On the other hand, I get the same frames in BF3 in 3d Vision as you get in Skyrim. Weird. What Processor do you have btw? I've got a i5 2500K @ 4,2gHz, so maybe one game is more gpu dependent and the other is more cpu dependent?
I have the exact same processor, OC'd to the exact same speed, actually! So yesterday I reinstalled Skyrim clean. When I first started playing, performance was still sub-par. However, after installing some of my favorite mods, it started running silky smooth again! I really don't know what it was. I started by following the STEP mods, and I think MAYBE it was the iCCC + ENB mod that improved my performance so much. Or perhaps it was because I installed the 4GB mod AFTER I installed everything else. Or, it could have been that I DID NOT install the Skyrim Enhanced Shaders mod. I also reduced shadows from ultra to high, and reduced AA to 4x. I'm going to put them back up to max to see if they were the culprits behind my low fps.

Also, as far as the ghosting, I was able to GREATLY reduce it by adjusting my convergence/depth. I hardly notice it anymore. I didn't realize you had to HOLD ctrl+F5/F6 for convergence adjustment (3d newb), and for a while I didn't even know what adjusting convergence did. Many thanks to a previous post that has instructions on how to adjust depth/convergence to your liking (starting at 25% depth, max convergence - then reducing convergence till you get what you want). I'm running Skyrim with about 10 of my favorite mods now, in 3d, with silky smooth performance :) :) :) It really is amazing in 3d, and I no longer regret my spending splurge of another GTX 580 and the VG278h monitor.

Now, if we could find someone to fix that moon and water . . .

Oh yeah, I reduced shadows to high as well...forgot that part...they seem to be the most CPU-intensive item and dropping it to high definitely bolstered my framerates and I hardly notice the difference. You can also bump up iBlurDeferredShadows from 3 to 4 or 5 which will blur them a little more if your shadows look a bit too pixelated to you. As for the moon and water, we DEFINITELY need a fix for the water but the moon...are you talking about how it seems like it might bump into a castle tower or mountaintop? Cuz I kinda like that...makes me feel like I'm in the middle of some sci-fi movie...I haven't used any of the moon size tweaks for that very reason...

Those screens look great Pixel* /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Also FYI everyone, Steam quietly updated Skyrim at some point today so the .exe now flags LAA. That means you no longer need to use the 4GB Mod/launcher anymore unless you have some other mod that depends on it. You also shouldn't have to add or modify the Skyrim profile in Nvidia Inspector anymore to get the profile to recognize Skyrim.

The sky, stars, aurora have been fixed with Dorkirt's mod. If you want to use a 3D Sight, you can download one that looks like the original cursor. I made a few before I realized there was one already on Skyrimnexus and you can find all of those files posted there, just search for 3D Vision. You'll also want to disable the in-game crosshairs and floating quest markers in the game options settings.

There's still a few problems with 3D overall:

Nvidia 3D Crosshairs tend to break in dungeons, in combat. Apparently this is a known issue, hopefully Nvidia is able to fix or workaround this issue.

Water is still broken with no fix available atm. We will probably need the Creation Kit or a fix from Bethesda for this.

Convergence/depth can be limited in 1st person due to arms/weapons showing. Adjust to your taste, or use some of the workarounds to move the camera forward to hide your arms/weapons. Alternatively, you can play in 3rd person and adjust depth/convergence similar to a 3rd person action game (Batman, Assassin's Creed etc).

Inventory 3D weapon/item can seem out of focus or uncomfortable depending on your depth/convergence settings in 1st/3rd person.

Perk constellations can be out of focus depending on your depth/convergence settings in 1st/3rd person.

Map is 3D while icons/markers are 2D. This can make it difficult to determine where icon markers correspond to locations on the map and to navigate unknown pathways.

Compass, subtitles, Menu, UI, standard crosshair are all in 2D. All expected for games that are not "3D Vision Ready", you can disable both crosshair and floating quest markers in the game's options (recommend).

Some fishbowl/warping if you increase FOV. The effect is far more pronounced than any other 1st person game I've played. I have it set to 70 and even objects 45 degrees from center exhibit some fishbowl warping.

Moon is at the wrong depth, very minor issue though imo and there is a workaround from Dorkirt that allows you to remove the moon completely.

Stealth indicator is 2D, there is a mod that allows you to move the position or completely remove it.
It looks like a huge list of problems but the only really annoying one left is the water issue. The crosshair issue is annoying as well, but neither are gamebreaking or frustrating enough to overshadow the game's amazing 3D visuals combined with the immersive gameplay. The default graphics are pretty mediocre, better than Bethesda's past efforts, but with some of the texture mods and tweaks out there you can make the game look outstanding in 3D.

Easiest way to mod Skyrim for those not familiar is to register for the Nexus sites, then grab the Nexus Mod Manager: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/content/modmanager/

Sign in, then start browsing through the mods. You can check out the "Hot Files" for some of the most popular/active mods for Skyrim, or you can check out one of the many compiled lists that give a description of what the mod does and some pictures for comparison. Usually the mods themselves show before/after type pics to help you illustrate the difference. Here's a few lists of the best mods so far for Skrim:
http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/11/25/skyrim-mods-the-20-best-so-far/
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/top/

Here's the mods I have installed, most are texture improvements, a few modify gameplay to make it less tedious (like the stamina/carry mod). I generally stay away from mods that change the atmosphere of the game too much and mostly stick to mods that keep the same artistic direction but upgrade them with higher fidelity assets. I would personally replace the most problematic textures first, then get an idea of how much you want to change the game mechanics with mods before you change them.

The most important ones imo are the Xenius mods, then the city retextures, and after that the ground cover and flora retextures. Really a huge improvement in graphics once you've made a few changes, especially in 3D.

There's also a bunch of .ini tweaks posted on GeForce.com, Skyrim is not that demanding on graphics cards even in 3D but you will experience some drops in FPS in towns or outdoors even on really fast hardware (i5/i7 4+GHz with GTX4x0/5x0 cards in SLI). Here's a list of the tweaks posted on GeForce.com along with the kind of framerate hits they carry:

http://www.geforce.com/Optimize/Guides/five-fast-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-tweaks-guaranteed-to-make-your-game-look-even-better

But ya this game is outstanding in 3D Vision. Just the mix of atmosphere, gameplay, and story-telling make for an incredibly immersive experience in 3D. I've put both BF3 and Batman Arkham City on hold for this game, so it should tell you where the game stands on my playlist. From the general impression I'm getting in other gaming circles, I'm not the only one. I also highly recommend the 360 controller for this game unless you plan to be a dedicated archer.

Dear Chiz,

Wow. Just AWESOME! I had to take the time to personally thank you for this thoughtful and detailed reply of yours. This alone has pretty much solved all of my questions. I modded/tweaked New Vegas to become a phenomenal 3d Vision title and it looks like I will be able to enjoy Skyrim in the same fashion.

This is what forums are for. Very much appreciated.

cheers!

Just remember when using the ini I linked make sure you open it up and edit the parts that are highlighted such as GPU and screen resolution Thanks :)

I am testing some more mods tonight to see if I can better image quality for the pebbles on the shoreline. I will post screenies soon :)

New 290.53 beta drivers have just been released. No mention of 3D Vision improvements (though apparently they did add a few 3D Vision crosshairs that more closely match Skyrim's crosshairs), but apparently they have been working pretty hard on Skyrim performance improvements, saying up to 25%, though mostly in indoor, shadowy areas apparently. So, it doesn't really address our issues with 3D, but better performance is always nice...

Cool. Hopefully these will solve the random drops to 1-5FPS that I and many others are getting.

Thanks Pixel, i've used your links and pics on another forum here in the UK hope you dont mind, i credited you too. Are you using a freelook camera mod to get some of those external shots btw?

Nope, the way you take the pics is liek this.... if you see a dragon hit " ` " thats a tilda on keyboard for console and type TGM for toggle god mode then type TCM this will allow you to move the camera anywhere in game as all the action takes place around you, then press the key for your screenshots, I prefer fraps as its better quality.!! When you re-type TFC the camera zooms back to where you where, allowing you to walk around like normal :)

EDIT: The only reason you use god mode is so the dragon doesnt fry you as you do your camera work:)

Check this for a nice comparison for pebbles!
