Ugh they reprocessed the shader library for the update that means.
What still works?
And whats not working?

Didn't add to wiki because I have no idea what its rated after fix. If you own game and can take picture and let me know what else is wrong with it let me know. My copy keeps crashing as soon as race starts. I know shader works because of menu though. Did this one because someone tried hard.

Almost everything else still works properly, such as shadows, light sources, etc as far as I could tell. The halo issue occurs when you are near almost all water areas like the tower at the beginning and water areas inside dungeons.

Anyone can check the Fix for Kingdoms of Amalur? It seems the new DLC broke the water and the halos around characters...:( Anyone else can confirm this?:)

I have the DLC, but didn't open new locations yet.
Can somebody give me a save file ?

You don't have to go to the new area to see it HeliX. Fast travel to the Allestar Tower where you started the game at and the problem is apparent there. I will be happy to test out various areas with water if you find a way to fix it and want help testing it.

Sorry, can't confirm that. Still works for me.
I have Origin version of the game and DLC.

You didn't notice any halos around that character standing near the water at Allestar Tower? I wonder if Nvidia did something in their latest 3D drivers like they did with mass Effect 3 - what version are you running? I will install the latest version of the release dll and see if that does anything.

I attached files that I use for this game.
Can you check them ?
[/quote]
Cool, let me try them out and I will post back in a bit.
HeliX, I get the same problem with those files. I really think that this was broken by Nvidia's 3D driver because the game now has a profile and it didn't before when it worked. This was the same thing that caused issues with Mass Effect 3 when they added a profile. I was able to install an older 3D driver before but I can't seem to get it to work now on my new 680 GTX cards. I am currently on driver set 301.10 and it worked with the previous ones, 296.10 where the game didn't have a properly working Nvidia 3D profile.
Unfortunately the game won't launch when I try to rename the game's .exe because of Origin. I wish I knew a way to remove the profile from where Nvidia stores it but I have no idea how to do that.

Try to delete 9D68E0CD.txt from VertexShaders folder.

That works!
Thanks so much for helping me HeliX. I think anyone else that has the new water bug should try removing that file also. Maybe the problem with Mass Effect 3 can be fixed by finding a shader override file and removing it.
I will jump into game and check a few areas and see if that works elsewhere.

For ME3 it'll work only for HALO's.
But ME3 profile from 296.10 causes other problems like smoothed textures and other textures glitches, but it is not related with my fix.
It appears removing this file fixes the water in most areas but I now get halos around the character at the lake in Didenhil where it was working before with that file I removed. Also it appears to mess up the highlights on doors as I am now seeing a halo around the character when I highlight one.
I wish there was a way to just remove the Nvidia profile for the game.
I'm really sorry for bothering you about this - I am not real happy with Nvidia's driver team right now.

Just in new area or all together?

I can confirm this - it happens in old areas also.

Didn't add to wiki because I have no idea what its rated after fix. If you own game and can take picture and let me know what else is wrong with it let me know. My copy keeps crashing as soon as race starts. I know shader works because of menu though. Did this one because someone tried hard.
