Everquest 2 s3d issues severe ghosting and DX errors
Since July 2011 EQ2 has some serious issues in s3d. The game was great to play in 3d until after some hotfix in July broke the stereo 3d mode. You can play EQ2 with shaders 3 off or on, the off option makes s3d totally unplayable with triple-imaging (see screen attached), while enabling shaders 3 makes the game crash after a few minutes of gameplay with an error like this (attached)- which is pointing to a drive that does not even exist on my PC.
When I submitted a ticket to game support, SOE replied that they dont have a set-up to test s3d (?!) even though 3d is an official game feature (quote ...Like stated before, we have no way to test stereo 3D here. The error you sent appeared to be a DirectX issue that could have been linked to a graphic card issue. unquote).
I was wondering if anyone is still playing this game and whether the above is true for all s3d users or its my setup that is at fault. I love EQ2 in s3d actually, and would be sorry if the issues persist. If they do though, I would suggest that nVidia cuts its game rating from current "Good" to "Not supported" given that SOE does not even have a rig to test out its own game in s3d before they release updates.
