The quality was pretty good as for the cable I had to use component out then an adapter at the XR10X

Nice, thanks. I hate to ask so many questions... BUT, did the quality look comparable to what you might expect if you were able to hook up via HDMI?

The quality was pretty decent. The XR10X was a drifferent story not even close to todays projectors.

Is there anything in specific that you are trying to do or just shopping

Well, in a nutshell, I am trying to find a CHEAP projector. ~$400 for the VS 6210. What I want it for is 3D Vision and to play Blu-Rays on it but I'm worried about the HDCP if I got a PS3 VGA cable (HDMI to VGA).

I just picked up this projector (PJD6210-3D) and the 3D Nvision kit. However, since this is a DLP projector it is requesting the VESA-3 cable be used, but the PJD6210 doesn't have a VESA-3 port.

Is there an adapter I need to get or something?

Sorry to burst your buble there is no HDMI to VGA.
VGA to DVI is ok but not through to HDMI.

You would have to get a box that does it and I think they don't come cheap.

I have the PJD 6221, pretty close but again not the same model. I have stayed at the cd 1.15 drivers because any updates screws everything up. The projector wont let me use generic CRT, it doesnt detect as a 3D ready if I update. Sigh, I also have to use a VGA sync box as well to get rid of ghosting and the reverse eye problem.

"3D ready" seems to be a loose term just thrown around by these companies. But when it works it WORKS awesome!

By the way, about the Vesa thing. You shouldnt need to use a VESA cable with these projectors at all. Just the nvidia emitter.

I did, but ViewSonic only has generic drivers listed on their site:

Are there more specific drivers out there for 3D setup?

And I did also update the emitter drivers from Nvidia to 1.20.

Mythiasis, I am VERY VERY interested in knowing how the projector performs once you get it working. Would Windows 7 have anything to do with it not working properly?

The projector itself runs fine. I have it running in 1600x900 in the proper 16:9 aspect and everything looks great. The only problem I'm having is with the 3D Vision kit.

Game-wise you lose a bit of color intensity and clarity that you get with monitors; but movies run from my PC look amazing. I just need to move my 720w stereo speakers around a bit and I have my own private theatre. ; )

Are you playing Blu-Rays on it? I am so close to getting the PJ but my Blu-Ray player is a PS3 and I'm concerned it will downstep movies to 480p, making Blu-Ray pointless...

Not yet. I need to update my PowerDVD software since I haven't used it in a while. But I do have a BluRay player on the PC. I'll play with it tonight and let you know how things go.

Thanks! Hope you get the PJ working with 3D Vision so I can bug you about that next. ;) Did you try an older driver, 1.15 perhaps?

Not yet. But I'll try it tonight. It seems someone earlier in this thread could only get it working with 1.15, so I'll try it.
