OpenGL wrapper and Play TV
  1 / 2
Just a quick question. Does this wrapper work with play TV? I have tried to launch a couple of Fractional games with it and only get a black screen. Perhaps I am doing something wrong.

Actually it is the 3D vision wrapper that is used for open gl games like Amnesia and Amnesia machine for pigs. Everything goes fine until I drop the opengl dll into either one of these games. Then they just will not launch. I have tried everything in the read me. Can't figure it out.

That would be the wrapper made by helifax. It's not plug and play. It's a means to an end. You need to watch his videos and/or read through his thread. then tweak/configure it as necessary. It also is just available so that you can try it, it is not guaranteed to work with any game. If it can be made to work great, if not, try another game. To find his video documentation for the wrapper.... search Youtube > OpenGL3DVision - Video Documentation Helifax19 Link the game that you are trying.

Thanks for answering! I appreciate that. I am going to watch the suggested video and see if it can help me. I actually haven't tried to get many opengl games to play in 3D. Most games I can usually solve using either the Helix mods or the Tridef software. Opengl is something I will need to figure out. Thanks again for the help! Cheers!!

I am trying to use the actual games fixes. I don't have a lot of opengl games There is a couple I would like to get. Like Soma and another I can't recall the title of. But I wanted to see if I could get the opengl to work before buying them. I was thinking of downloading Rage again and trying that to see if maybe it is just something with the Fractional games.

There are some older OpenGL games that have solutions with the wrapper that already exist. Some of them were made by a guy named Alien-Grey, you'll have to look through his posts to find them. https://forums.geforce.com/member/2087938/ You can see some of his fixes on youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCh75pwWKlN3KDzmzUd2xV_w/videos?sort=dd&view=0&shelf_id=0 There were some for other games as well that I can't remember in helifax's OpenGL thread made by other people https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/682130/3d-vision/-opengl-3d-vision-wrapper-enabling-3d-vision-in-opengl-apps/1/ BTW are you using a 120Hz display? You need to make sure that you launch the game and/or Steam, in administrator mode. If you are using a GoG game, sometimes they have wrappers already in them that need disabled/removed. Also for some OpenGL games, there are other solutions as well. Jedi Academy basically, just needs you to open the config folder and set r_stereo=1. Search the forums for my post on it and a couple of others https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/824274/ Also see this thread for the dgVooDoo2 wrapper that works with old games dx6, 7, 8 and older some older OpenGL games. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/828843/

Well his wrapper switches it from OpenGL to DirectX, because of the way he had to code it, you need to have a pretty good pc that is capable of running the game at 120Hz at all times. If you drop below 120Hz, there are some eye sync issues or when turning real fast. Other than that, it's the only real 3D solution for Rage. There is another option called SuperDepth 3D, it's somewhat better than Nvidia's compatibility mode. Search the forums, read the thread.

Yeah I am using a 120Hz 55" Sony 3D TV. Running the Steam versions of the games in admin. but not Steam in admin. I will try that. I am using Windows 7 as well and a single GTX980 drivers 381.65 You have been awesome and have given me lots of new avenues to explore. Thanks a ton for all the links and the help. I will get this figured out because I can't play in 2D anymore.

I just tried Amnesia: The Dark Descent and it worked fine here... Copy the following from the fix into Amnesia's root directory: 3DVisionWrapper.ini FPSInject.dll Logo.bmp opengl32.dll uninstall.bat Right-click Amnesia.exe and Run as Admin, you only need to do this the first time and any time after a Driver install to create the Profile. Go into Options and Disable ImageTrail. edit:once in awhile it locked up/black screen and I had to End Task in the Task Manager...

Yeah I have read a bit on the SuperDepth 3D. Haven't tried it out yet as I will always try for geometry 3D. I have used the CM mode and Tridefs power 3D in some cases. But it is hard to get use to.

Typically those 3D HDTVs only accept a 60Hz input via HDMI 1.4, the 120Hz specification is for when they use interpolation. Check your owners manual to see if it supports "Pixel Mode", if so, that's what everyone else calls CheckerBoard. It will give you a better experience using Nvidia's Stereoscopic drivers, if the option is available on your model.

Yeah it works with CheckerBoard mode cause I will use that when a fix comes with the SBS option so I can bypass the 720p limitations of Play TV. I wonder if not having the evil update installed anymore would make a difference. But I thought that was a direct3D thing. I am downloading Dark Descent again right now going to try launching out of the directory as admin. as TsaebehT suggest.

In 3D Setup tab of the Nvidia control panel, there's a drop down menu that should allow you to choose CheckerBoard, 3DTV Play supports it.
