Hello,

My name is Rino, otherwise known as Recostar, and I'm the owner of S3DGamerZone. We are a website dedicated to getting reviews out in 3D on the newest games that get released. We are here trying to push 3D by giving developers a standard based on the expectations of 3D enthusiasts.

Our goal here, as gamers ourselves and people that are creating media, is to make sure that when developers make their games, that they keep 3D in mind.

We are here to draw the attention of 2D gamers that may still feel that 3D is gimmicky. -This isn't low-depth console 3D, but full-1080P, mind blowing 3D that you have to see for yourself to really experience and understand the differences.

We want to bring the voice of the community together and make that voice as loud as possible, so loud that developers won't be able to turn their heads away from us.

We are here to find out what makes good 3D content and bring that to the world.

We believe that for developers to take note of 3D that they need to see that there are websites that are focused on reviewing games on their stereoscopic performance, along with the game itself. Why would developers care about stereoscopic 3D if when they look at the community, they see only a handful of websites, and none of these are dedicated to reviewing games in 3D.

It's been a long, hard road for many of us 3D gamers struggling to play the games we love. We have grown accustomed to games with 3D effects rendering incorrectly, at wrong depths, or receiving patches that make games worse to play in 3D (a certain Elder Scrolls game we all love to play- or loved to play- before the patch was released). If ever there was a time to make a difference, that time is now and I'm going to give it everything I've got to make it possible.

Here is a list of things you can expect to see on S3DGamerZone.

1. Live 3D Streaming - You can check out the JTV Beta stream I have currently set up to stream live 3D in SBS. All videos will be uploaded to YouTube right after the stream is finished. Here is the link to Mass Effect 3 being streamed to JustinTV. Link is Here (SBS 3D video in crossed eyed mode). ( Please keep in mind that this was a beta stream so not everything is running 100%, but for the most part it works very well.)

2. Weekly Game Reviews - Currently S3DGamerZone is scheduled to release a game review every Friday. The games will be rated on their stereoscopic performance, along with the quality of the game itself.

3. The Extra Round - We are currently building this area for community contributed content along with official S3DGamerZone overviews and rundowns. The show is designed to give the gaming community a quick overview of what they can expect when playing the game in 3D, along with a general idea of the type of game it is. No review will be given to games on The Extra Round, unless it is community-contributed content.

4. Comparison Videos - Every review or episode that is created at S3DGamerZone will have a 2D VS 3D comparison video. These videos are designed to give 2D gamers the chance to see the difference that 3D makes in their games. Being able to show your friends, family and co-workers a video displaying 2D and 3D at the same time is a viable tool that will help make 3D a regular part of their lives.

Our Mission Statement

Best 3d game review ever. You put a lot of work into that. You should definetly post it on bioware forums. Ignore the haters, I think you can get a lot of new users to 3D gaming(as long as they have display capable of viewing 3d content)

Hi, Eqzitara. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've been working with Reco for the past few months to build content for the site, and we're glad to finally release it to the world.

This mini-review is only about the S3D performance using only 3D Vision. The REAL review, which reviews the game itself, plus the S3D experience, uses Helix's fixes.

It's an epic 13+ minute review that will be available for everyone tomorrow. Keep an eye out for it!

HSBS is Half Side-by-Side. We're actually testing out Half Over-Under format now, because we're not entirely sure which gives higher visual quality. Everything available for viewing on the site right now was uploaded in HSBS, but the official ME3 review we're releasing tomorrow is HOU. Let us know if you have any opinion about which looks better.

Yeah, I'm having the exact same problem with the HTML5 player not activating 3D Vision. I don't think any annotations are on the video, which still causes problems for the HTML5 player (COULD YOU FIX IT ALREADY, YOUTUBE??!!!). I'll talk with Reco about it tomorrow.

Download the 1080p Youtube video for playback with the 3D Vision Video Player, sView, Stereoscopic Player, etc. by downloading the video from Youtube with this link:

It will be a file called "videoplayback.mp4" but you can rename it to whatever you like.

I'm not sure what you mean in the first sentence. Yeah, it's 1080p, but the video is 30FPS. I wish I could record stereoscopic gameplay at 60FPS, but an unknown bottleneck prevents it.

The Rapidshare account is slow as hell for everyone. We upgraded it to Premium today, but it guess unregistered users still get piss poor DL speeds.

Here is a link to download the 1080p youtube video. The file will be called "videoplayback.mp4", but just rename it, if you want.

Thanks, andy.

I think it's a bit hard to see on the website, but we already have an hour of Mass Effect 3 preview videos available. They're all visible here:

http://s3dgamerzone....3d-previews/pc/

I especially recommend checking out The Toyification of Mass Effect 3, which is the last video on this page:

http://s3dgamerzone....od-preview-7-9/

As for more reviews, the Mass Effect 3 official review will be released in a few hours. For next week, another review is already done and slated for release. And another, for the week after that.

We have plenty of content ready for you guys, so keep an eye out

Ahhh

Why are these in the preview section? I thought, with regard to a review site like yours, previews are for games etc which aren't out yet.

edit
Not that you are asking or anything... but I think first impressions are crucial for a new site. A site is only as good as its content. If someone was to chance upon the site they might not take it as seriously as they should, with the small amount of reviews etc. I would seriously consider putting everything you have up, if it is at a publishable standard of course, and then add a review a week.

"There are countless moments in this comparison video that leave my draw on the floor in contrast to how inferior its 2D counter part is"

Might want to change draw to jaw in that. It's the 3d vs 2d for ME3.

The 3d Logo type screen at the end of that video is really well made by the way :)

Well tech. the defintion of preview is inspection of product before bought / generally known.
Its fine thats it preview imo especially since they are trying to give a preview of 3d gaming to people who don't have nvidia/iz3d/tridef yet rather then us current users.

I like your video settings (convergence/depth for videos). Often people go too light or too heavy on settings.

Yeah, I guess so.

I just naturally slotted the site into the gaming genre instead of tech. Completely overlooked the preview section as a result - D'Oh!

I remember when IGN first started up, heh. I think they've got a pretty good amount of content for the first week. It'll obviously continue to grow. Maybe shoot for 2 reviews per week since you have a backlog of games to review...

Having launched a lot of sites, this is actually a large amount of content. I doubt people won't take it seriously, but maybe you could put a list of what you're going to review in the following weeks. Some people may get to it, look at the reviews, not see their game, and leave.
