NOLF was brilliant. The followups much less so. Pity it isn't 3DVision capable otherwise I'd play it again (and IWar2 Edge of Chaos). Think they were both dx7. Those pictures of NOLF made me think you guys had some 3DVision ready version up and running LOL!

It is possible to play NOLF2 in 3D, I did it a few months back. There is a DX7-9 wrapper if I remember correctly. Can't remember much more than the fact that it was not fantastic for some reason I can't remember...
Yesterday i play a little....try the ini tweak posted by eqzitara and the game looks pretty good....there still some minor light issue (light cut-off) that i'm almost sure using the command "SkipSetScissorRect = true" in the dx9settings.ini will fix this (today i will give a try). Playing this game...i remember the movie Blade Runner (Harrison Ford), fantastic movie btw, one of my old favorities.....i have the "Final Cut" version.
Ill have to check it out. I honestly havent really got to play. Spent too much time on figuring out a solution.
Sure does. Because if it was defaulty made 3D ready, it doesn't have any problems mostly. Sleeping Dogs, Deus Ex HR, Metal Gear Solid 2, Mirror's Edge (with helix fix), etc. all look just fine ("ghosting wise"). Why are you trying to start fights?
Yours is a fairly common misconception, but there's nothing to fight over this. Ghosting is the fault of the display. That's just a hard technical fact. If you've seen less ghosting on 3D ready games, it's merely coincidence.

@eqzitara, btw yesterday i use the SkipSetScissorRect = true command and play like 2 hours, don't noticed more lights cut-off (i pay attention to the same source light i saw with the cut-off stuff). Further in game there are some reflection in 2D (really a minor thing). The game is very linear, but it's fun...3D and the story make this game great. Also first i found the combat mechanics a little clumsy, but when you "get" the mechanics is not that bad, actually, yesterday made some great "combos". Art is nice (remember old Blade Runner movie in some parts). Also memory remix mode is great.

Hi DHR. Where do I input the command SkipSetScissorRect=true? The light cutoff is bugging me too but I can't find a DX9settings.ini as there is no helix fix. Just modded the engine.ini but there is no option for SkipSetScissorRect. thanks

@eqzitara: Thank You for Your override! I've only one issue: when I don't use Your override the casted shadows seem to be a little bit under the floor (more distant than the floor). http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/3d4dd/image/51b0a6015ec3469b4d000062/ When I use Your override they are closer and seem to hover above the floor (closer than the floor). http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/3d4dd/image/51b0a5c25ec3461a3b00014f/ Personally I prefer the original casted shadows with more depth. Maybe it's a matter of taste but to me shadows that hover above the ground are more irritating than shadows that are too deep... Is there a way to remove only the self shadows and remain the depth of the original casted shadows? @DHR: In chapter 8 I've made an interesting finding: With a resolution of 1680x1050 the reflections on the floor were 2D. When I changed the resolution to 1366x768 and Supersampling off the reflections switched to 3D! I really love this game...

@Conan481 I'm not home, but there is the instrucions: - Donwload the last "realease" DLL https://s3.amazonaws.com/-HeliX-/DllsModPack.zip - Create DX9Settings.ini and add this lines and save: [General] SkipSetScissorRect = true - Copy dll and ini where .exe is @3d4dd I'm still don't get the chapter 8....but THANKS! for the tip. Anyone have some micro-stutter (in scenario transition for example, not always) with supersampling enabled? when i disable is all perfect.

I spent an insane amount of time on it and if helix decides to look at it. Any further work will be for naught[especially since Im only improving not fixing]. I think Im giving up on it, game looks great in 3D. I really just need to settle. It just bothers me its just an ini fix because I have no idea what to do with it. Tech. it shouldnt be on blog. Its probably supersampling. AA does stuff in 3d games sometimes. I cant really test it right now. I got one/two more games to mod before I am taking a break [then will be able to play] Try this start game disable supersampling. Exit. nvidia inspector flag 0x080000C1 4XMS 4XSGSS Might be too performance demanding. Im not sure of your specs, if so reduce to 2x

@equzitara: I understand. Thank You for Your efforts and all the other fixes on Helixmod blog!!! The game really looks great has far less issues than many other UR3 engine games. Maybe it is not by chance that there is AllowNvidiaStereo3d=True in the ini file (usually it is AllowNvidiaStereo3d=False). Perhaps it originally was ment to be a 3DVision ready game... Because of the performance I already had to turn off supersampling and use low settings for AA. If someone wants to use very high depth and convergence settings and reacts very sensitive to shadow issues: You can turn off dynamic shadows completely in C:\Users\....\Documents\my games\UnrealEngine3\RememberMeGame\Config\ExampleEngine.ini by setting DynamicShadows=False. As there are still many static shadows and the scenery is often dark or uses diffuse light sources the game still looks very good and natural without dynamic shadows.

@3d4dd Perhaps you are right. The code does do different things if 3D Vision is enabled. It just never made a difference in the UE3 games I tested before but I never saw it set for true before [Maybe borderlands 2 or Batman, dunno]. Perhaps they changed it or something for this game. TBH, Im pretty happy with how this game looks in 3D. I love the hud from short time I played, which is a rarity. Most people started playing it without any shadow fix because it looked good enough to them. So I think Im done though. I might look into it if I'm bored but I doubt it especially if disabling makes it look like a normal UE3 [broken as hell]. I can't complain if more developers use this format for UE3. Seriously, not sure whats in the water but more developers need to look at huds from this game/Tomb Raider. Not only is it amazing in 3D, but Ive actually heard/read people talking well about it in 2D. Looks fantastic. I honestly recommend either game over Metro Last Light for a 3D user.
