Well 3dtv is going to need the 256 drivers and 3dtv is supposed to be out in mid-summer. So for sure the nvidia surround should be out by then. Hopefully sooner.

in my opinion selling a product with advertising a feature as working that doesnt exsist is a scam.
right now im considering to send my two 470 cards back to get my money return and using a small ati card with eyefinity until nvidia gets there asses up.
still makes me angry that 470/480 gtx cards are sold with the 3d vision surround as a working feature right now.

ALSO, what is this bullcrap I am hearing where even though it requires SLi to run 3 monitors it only uses the first gtx 480 ( or 470 ) for power purposes and the 2nd one is just a display port ? WTF?!?! I will literally freaking go nuts if I've spent $1179 on 2 EVGA GTX 480 SC's to find out running 3 monitors and it only uses the power of one gtx 480 while gaming and the other sits idle.
AND PS, I dont give a crap about 3D Vision, got a 3d samsung downstairs! I just want NVIDIA SURROUND! You know, the one thats supposed to be the same crap as eyefinity.

I honestly think that the 3d vision driver team engineering lead needs to be seriously reconsidered as an employee (assuming it is him/her that is making the boneheaded 3d vision decisions). The 3d vision drivers are in awful shape, the draconian lock down is extremely tiresome and they need to fix them along with add in the features promised (not to mention profiles delivered day and date with game releases instead of a month later).

You might want to research SLI a bit further, because you don't quite have a rudimentary grasp of the technology yet.
The engines are working - it's merely the display output ports that are cycled. Dropping the dependency on RAMDACs and the like for CRTs now allows them to expand on the hardware's digital capabilities, not remain restricted to its analog...

Listen, all I need to hear from a nvidia rep is this. Will our GTX 480 SLi setups fully utilize both gpus for gaming with nvsurround ? I could care less about 3D. Im not gonna sit here behind an LCD and argue with someone talking non-sense.

Hopefully then this forum may turn back into a tech forum. How I miss SLIZone.
