Has anyone fix the emitter problem?
If I don't use the 3d function, after a while the emitter flashes a couple times and turns off. I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to work again. Then go into nvidia control panel and set it from 3d Discover to my ASUS 248QE. It's a HUGGGGGGE pain to do between games ect. I end up not using it when I could because it has become such a chore...

When you say it turns off, you mean the light goes out completely? That's not supposed to happen. It's supposed to go to a dull green when 3d isn't running. Have a look in device manager to see if power saving is enabled for your USB ports, since it could be USB powering down. Do you have the emitter plugged into your mobo and not a USB hub? It could also be a faulty emitter.

You may have a setting enabled in Windows Power Options that is configured to cut power to any devices that aren't in use or idle, look at the attached pic. Might be this, might not be, but it's as good a bet as anything else. ~Nutz

Windows power options was my first guess as well when I first bought the product, but changing the setting never made a difference. After about 5 min of not being used the light flashes 4-5 times and just goes out completely. I had a similar problem with my mouse in the USB 3.0 ports. The only available 2.0 ports are on the front tower hub where the mouse works, but plugging the 3DV2 emitter into a port didn't make a difference.

I can't help with your problem but I just wanted to report my findings. My emitter will turn off in the same way. Blink a couple times after a while and the light will go completely off. But it will come on and work just fine when needed, with out a reboot. So I don't think it's abnormal for the light to go completely off after a while (power saving). Perhaps this may help to eliminate the emitter being the issue? Have you update all the drivers for your motherboard? Chipset and USB mostly. Also, have you googled the specific model of your motherboard and seen if there is a common issue with the usb ports for that model? I don't know if any of this helps at all but I hope you get this solved soon.

All my drivers are up to date, Asus Maximus 7 Formula w/ Intel i7-4790k @ 4.386Ghz Asus GTX 980 ROG Poseidon Platinum @ 1400Mhz / 12.12mV Asus VG 248QE 144hz over DisplayPort 1.2 ROG's TrueVolt USB / Asmedia USB Controller Driver V1.16.15.0 Running on Windows 8.1 Power settings are High Performance Advanced -> USB Settings - USB selective suspend setting - Disabled At this point I have checked all this, googled similar problems with fix's that didn't apply to myself and no reports of USB problems with the M7F mobo. After 5 min of startup the emitter blinks 5 times and turns off. After that the settings in my nVidia Control Panel will revert the 3d settings from Asus 120Hz 3D LCD to -> 3D Vision Discover. When this happens the emitter is un-responsive, the dial does nothing, the logo is our, and the button does nothing. If I unplug the emitter the USB ding sounds. When I plug it back in the light will come on, I'll have to open up nVidia Control Panel and apply a new display type... Then my monitors with refresh and if I start my game within the next 5 min it will stay on untill it goes into standby again. From the time I started this reply it has happened twice. I have my hesitation RMAing this emitter will solve the problem, too me it seems very software based. Someone dropped the compatibility ball when writing drivers perhaps. Should I considering sending a E-Mail to Asus & nVidia?

I have 2 emitters that I use across different Asus Maximus boards, laptops and different hardware. Not once I encountered any problems with them:-s I think you have a faulty emitter there... I would talk with Nvidia Customer Support, maybe they can share some light... In any case I would RMA the emitter. Best case, the new one will work, worst case the new one will do the same and then you will defo know is something else playing tricks...

I have the same problem. This problem seems to Windows 8.1. Windows 7 will not have this problem.

I have an emitter built into my monitor, and for a while now it's been switching to 3D Vision Discover. I suspect it's a driver issue, try an older driver?

After reading Zayou's post I searched around and found a lot more problems with 8.1 and 3DV2. Apparently when the 3d emitter powers down, and the setting is still enabled in the nvidia control panel it reverts to Discover mode. I looked around in all my settings and came to the conclusion I would have to probably un-install my drivers and reload with custom settings excluding 3d Vision discover.

8.1 has had a lot of 3D problems, I'd stick with 7 or 8 for best results.
