Only plausible explanation seems that you are using highest settings in games with high AA, and card is running out for memory...

Except I'm running one of the same games with max settings (other than Uber ((TW2))) along with Nvidia overrides and I'm getting the same results or better.

Do you mean you already tried turning off v-sync? The v-sync setting has no effect when running 3D, v-sync is always on in 3D no matter what your control panel or in-game settings are.
TBH I think most people would kill for those 3D framerates lol. However they're still a little surprising. Most games I tested the drop was less than 50%, but I don't own those 2 games to test.

Thanks for input but Im gonna sell my 680 while price is high and get 2 580's since price is low. There is maybe a 20% increase over when I had a single 580 over a single 680. Im very sensitive about low framerates with 3D vision because at high framerates I am golden. Lower and I have vision issues.

I wish I was hearing better things about the 680 :(
This GTS 450 is getting worked...I hope they do a 690 dual or something.

I used to run GTS450s in SLI. Yeah, TW2 was a workload for them, although I could get 30-40fps with some settings turned down. I can't imagine running a brand new game like Arkham City though! I'm looking forward to a 3GB 690 or something too. The 680 seems like a good card based on reviews I've read but there's not enough separation from what I currently own to make it worth while.
I hope you end up with what you want Eqzitara... I dunno... seems like you're going for a downgrade to me. I would rather put up with it for the time being and hope for a better driver release, and eventually just buy another 680 for SLI.... maybe even a used one since you want to go that route.

Check your GPU usage. For me, while playing battlefield 3, in 3d vision my gpu usage is ony 60-80% despite the frame rate occasionally dipping bellow 30. With 3d vision off I can get 100% gpu utilization. It would appear the 3d vision drivers need refinement. You could sell your 680, but you must understand the drivers are still young and will improve.

FPS is cut more then half in over 3 games I checked(the only ones where I get under 60 fps)
I will probably just get a second sli 680 since I just made a good deal of money just really not happy with the amount of performance gained for $ in 3D atm. I strongly don't recommend them atm.

Well I got my second 680... Smooth 60 fps in witcher 2 now = ). Though I think this is more of a early driver problems with the 680's. I am kind of surpised my FPS was hitting so low only on 720p (no extra aa added). I hope they work out the issues.

So, right now I would need (2) 680's to be assured of getting 60fps in 3DTV play? Dam.
Since I have only 1 PCIe x16 slot I have to get the 690.

Well I talked to one of the techies and they said they'd look into it *shrug*.
If 3d only cost 50% I wouldnt have a problem.(though it supposed to cost less then 50% fps)
65% FPS loss is ridiculous for 3d..
2 580's will get you same FPS in 3d as of right now.

It's disappointing and a lot of people are having bad results with BF3 in particular, but remember what I said about Vsync. In 3d there are specific multiples (framerates) that the drivers/cards/whatever will drop down to in order to make sure that the letf and right images are in sync with each other. It's definitely on this forum somewhere!
Maybe the 680 drivers are immature too, but the point is that with 3d enabled you don't get smooth progressive drops in framerate. The 680 is a very powerful card, but once you hit that performance threshold where it can't maintain 120fps, you will lose a chunk of frames and the GPU usage will drop accordingly. It's by design I suppose but maybe they can do something about it.
SLI is your friend for 3d :-)
