Tried searching.... Compatible, alternate Shutter glasses for 3d Vision or only Nvidias? cheaper alt
Most of the R and D costs for these glasses were done years ago....and I want to have a 3d movie night for 2 more people.... I don't want to spend 3-400 more dollars doing this. Absolute lunacy to spend that kinda money for some glasses that others offer for 50 bucks... but are there any that are compatible?
I figured it was just a matter of accepting the right IR freq, but any enlightenment would be very much appreciated!

Shutter glasses all use different IR signals, so they are not compatible with one another. You need a complete set using the same brand of glasses.
Unfortunately, nvidia dropped all support for other brands of shutter glasses when they took the decision to develop the nvidia 3D vision glasses.
If you are using a DLP TV, it is technically possible to use other shutter glasses but you have to say goodbye to all the nvidia software and get the equivalent elsewhere but solutions do exist.
If you are using a 120HD LCD display, you're screwed.
