3D Flight Simulation Setup Need to define software and hardware required for flight simulation
Hi all,
Would really appreciate all the help I can get here.

Here is the problem:
We would like to simulate some flight stuff we're working on (Marenco SKYe) in 3D.

So the entire software and hardware side is to be defined.

Software wise, we would prefer if there are addons or something for X-plane but other options are welcome.

Hardware wise, the estimate for now is going the nvidia way with the 3D Vision Surround route. For starters we might just do 1 monitor and then move to 3 eventually as necessary. But what would be the estimated computational requirements (what GPUs?) for Full HD 1080p 3D "gaming"/simulation?

The main concern is if there's a possibility of adding to the software. e.g. like an API so that we can implement our own custom flight models.

For a future proof setup you should get a Quad SLI capable mobo and (3) of these projectors...

ACER 9500BD 3D 1080p

These are the only affordable 3D projectors that will allow you 1280x1024 60Hz per eye while gaming in HDMI 1.4 framepacked.

All 3 combined in a 3d surround setting will rival Lockeed Martin's CA facility. (4K DC)
