Hi, I am playing Assetto Corsa Early Access Version from STEAM and it looks gorgeous in 3D-vision-surround. Only complaint is that the clouds are a small bit too close. Could anyone of the 3D-vision-Gurus (Helix & Co) make a mod where the clouds are a bit more far away?

At present, DX11 fixes aren't yet possible (only one has been done so far, and there are no fully-developed debuggers/wrappers to work with). You're probably out of luck on this one, as it seems to be DX11 only.

Since this title 3D vision ready I would post the problem on the Steam forum. Remember this game is in the early release program and not even finished. So the problem could be corrected in the final release.

The mirrors are also screwed (left right eye swapped). Both issues have been reported and duely ignored.
On the plus side, it's 3DVision miles better than pCars.
Time has passed, AC isn't in early access mode anymore and although the finished version still has a few minor 3D problems it is still the best 3D driving experience out there. Now I start to go multiplayer and see that the nameplates of the other drivers are 2D at screendepth, which is annoying.
Is it still not possible for the 3D gurus to solve these minor glitches because of the fact that the game is DX11? I thought that the 3D fixes for actual games like Project Cars, The Witcher 3, GTA V are based on DX11 games too? I would be so happy if this almost perfect 3D game could become 100% perfect...

I posted in the morning, but it seems it was eaten by the server.
Can't you just disable the nameplates? I know you can in single-player. Can't you do it in multi, too?
3DMigoto Fix: https://s3.amazonaws.com/4everAwake/WIP_Assetto_Corsa.zip
[.] Fixed clouds [/.]
[.] Added 2 convergence profiles on the Z key. (The low setting is for cockpit view and hood-mounted camera. The high setting is for 3rd person view)[/.]
[.] Moved the HUD into depth. I split the HUD up so that the upper HUD is at a different depth than the lower HUD (good for nameplates). The drawback to this is that the UI looks misaligned.
- To align the HUD & UI, press the X key.
- Also, if you want to change the upper & lower HUD depth to a custom depth: Open d3dx.ini. Under [Constants], 'X' value is for lower HUD, 'Y' is for upper HUD[/.]
[.] I'm unable to fix the mirrors. (minor issue, IMO). I'll keep looking into it, though.[/.]
Installation:
1) Extract the above fix into the directory "..\Assetto Corsa\"
2) (Recommended) In Options menu, click on the 'Effects' tab & disable "Heat shimmering effects".
Let me know if this works or not.

Really apreciated... I mean, REALLY !!! (Never thought someone would even ever work on this title and here you are!:)
However I think mirrors are not a minor issue, but the bigger one indeed :)
I made a lot of tries with profiles in the past and I think their shader are related to other reflections and bloom effects?
One thing I could say for help is that with iracing profile they are rendered like 2D images.
One other is that the right mirror for the 1998 F1 mclaren by virtuasimulazioni is perfectly rendered in 3DVision as of now.
This is all I know.
But thank you again!

@4everAwake: You are my hero!!! Thank you so much for fixing the clouds! They are perfect now!
That you name the fix "WIP" lets my heart beat faster.
Does that mean, that you try to put the nameplates to correct 3D-depth too (I mean that the nameplates are floating above each single opponent car and have the same depth like the opponent cars), or is this impossible?
Concerning the mirrors, like ziozeus said, there is already ONE mirror in a mod-car (1998 F1 mclaren) which shows perfect 3D and not inversed one, but I think the modders did this "by accident". This happened to another mod car too in the past (GP2 car) which showed two perfect 3D-mirrors, but then it was "fixed" in another update and the wrong mirrors reappeared. If you look through the 3D vision glasses upside down every mirror in each car would be perfect...
Even if you can't fix the nameplates or the mirrors: Thank you sooo much for fixing the clouds!!!
EDIT: is it possible that the 3Dfix has a small impact on FPS or is it placebo?

There is almost certainly no way to get nameplates at the depth of the car, since there is probably no depth information in the shader. What can be done is that the name plates can all be pushed into a particular depth in screen so "on average" they look much better - at least you won't get cross-eye images from them being at screen depth.
Regarding FPS drop - you might 1-2 FPS drop but no more than that. The fixes made are very low impact as well. Double check that in the d3dx.ini file you have "hunting = 0" and not "hunting = 1" - the latter WILL degrade performance a lot.

OK, I updated the fix so that the upper HUD has a different depth than the lower HUD (for name plates). Also updated instructions.

I once heard that using the iRacing profile fixed the mirrors, but that was a long time ago during early access. I don't have the game installed right now so I can't check it out but, might be worth a shot. Oh wait, someone mentioned that already. IMO mirrors should be 2D, just like the reflections on the cars, so this is a good solution to that.
Just in case the fix gets updated, I do remember that the digital read-outs in the dashboards looked like they were floating in the air a little bit. My guess is a simple static shader depth offset fix would make them appear flush with the dashboard
I assume the heat shimmering can't be fixed?

From the tries I made and from what I've seen with those, I think reflections in car livery are 3D instead ;)
And take a look to right 1998 f1 mclaren... that's a perfect 3D mirror, and a joy to use.
