Yeah;) I will definitely wait for the Titanium version of the cards and then the OC version from Asus. The current 980 Titanium Overclocked edition give me almost what a 1080 does (7% difference) and this is PER CARD... Now I have 2x980Ti OC ;)) What is even more interesting is that I can OC these cards more than what Asus did (130%) close to 150% actually. So the 7% is even less... But again THIS IS RAW performance and NOT TECHNOLOGY support! I am quite interested in a few TECHs supported with the new Pascal platform;)) Still, If you have a TITAN X or 980 Titanium I say wait at least until the 1080Ti is out;) (I upgraded drom 2x780Ti to 2x980Ti. 2x780Ti = ONE 980Ti. So unless the 1080Ti is 50% better than a 980Ti, I still say skip it.... But I expect a 1080Ti will equal 2x980Ti, if they maintain the trend ^_^)

@helifax Whats your opinion on "FREE" surround helifax. I guess we will see on May 19th when NDA lifts but I dunno it just sounds too iffy to me. I really want to get a 1080 and want to pawn off my 980. 980's are still selling pretty damn well on ebay but I am afraid that soon as 1080's hit stores the price will drop like crazy and I wont get much for my 980. Getting $300 is pretty amazing to me since that covers half the cost. Im half considering selling it a week out and just using on board for a week + playing console.

Sites are beginning to report (admitting all using the same source) that the "Founders" editions are going to be the only cards available at launch. So that info is beginning to look solid. I wonder if it'll be fall before these cards start shipping at the lower prices. EDIT: And there's nothing special about those cards. They're not pre-selected for their overclockability or anything. They're simply reference cards. And the only cards you'll be able to buy at launch:(

I can't remember by hard what is the over-voltage on the cards but this site gets almost what I do: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/70053-asus-gtx-980-ti-strix-oc-review-18.html Mine are also watercooled and max. temperature on them is 65 degrees Celsius. It shows pretty good how spectacular the 980Ti OC edition + manual overclock is compared to the STOCK 980Ti.

Hopefully none of the Pascals have a convoluted setup like the GTX 970 and it's 3.5 + .5 = 4 shenanigans.

@Paul33993 Where did you read that ONLY founder's editions will be available at launch? That just sounds strange.

With a name like Founder's Edition, you'd think that it would have a serial number and come with early access, sound tracks and artwork :P

The problem is fundamentally this: 1.) It does void your warranty. 2.) I'm not paying that premium, just to then rip it off, purchase a more expensive cooler, and void my warranty. Worst of all: What's the incentive for any company to offer the non-reference cards for anywhere near retail. They can slap on a trash reference cooler, have it cost less money, and sell it for more. If PC gamers do what they always do, it's going to be many months before we see cards anywhere near those "MSRP" prices. Back to point one, I swear to you, I once had a warranty that claimed they had a chemical sniffing device that could tell if you changed the thermal paste on your card and the warranty would be voided if you did. Can't remember the brand of that one.

I have purchased EVGA video cards and change the cooler sent the same video card back to them for warranty replacement and had no problems. This come from the EVGA tech sent it back with the original cooler and you will have no problems with the warranty replacement. So it depends on the company and this is why most of video card purchases will be EVGA.

Maybe its just me but I have OCs fail long before heat comes an issue so I really care less about cooling since maybe the 480 series. Then again I never went as far to flash rom - @zig117727 Yeah evga goes out of its way with warranties that the others just don't match. They even introduced the step up program which is pretty nice for people who buy late in cycle. http://www.evga.com/support/stepup/ I would only not buy evga if I didnt have a choice.

Hey eqzitara. What do you think of your vive? My EVGA 980ti SC with an EK water block is running 1504 core and 8000 memory. That's with the standard bios. I bought mine the day it came out so I'm very interested to see how these cards compete is real gaming benchmarks. I've read it's got a hardware scheduler for async compute which is a bonus but I'm worried about the 256bit memory bus for high resolution gaming. I've also read that they are giving the maxwell cards the viewpoint multi monitor tech.
