Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs
  1 / 3
I've done some more research, and this uses the same engine as Amnesia. As it runs on OpenGL, it won't ever be compatible with 3d vision, as I understand things. [s]The original Amnesia was absolutely terrifying, and I'd love to be able to play the second one in 3d. I believe the first used openGL, meaning it could never be in 3d - but I don't know about the second yet. Let's go to their forums and ask for it! I'll add contact details later (probably tomorrow, ditto the Arkham Origins thread - just haven't had the time to research twitter accounts, publishers, game directors and so on)[/s][s][/s]

I agree about wanting to play the Amnesias, and the Penumbras, in 3D but I highly doubt they're going to stop using OpenGL for it. As far as I know the only OpenGL game that 3D Vision allows is Doom 3 BFG edition and that's because Carmack got NVIDIA's blessing. Probably have better luck rallying against NVIDIA, as they're the ones that took out OpenGL support to begin with.

Its doubtful. They have tons of support requests for 3D / Oculus Rift and they basically said not interested. Next version of engine either has full direct x support or optional. I havent read into it. @Tsabeht Its kind of amazing how your icon makes that scene look amazing.

Did some research, forget this. It uses the same engine as Amnesia, so there's no chance of support.

Eh, not their fault really. Better than being directX and being unfixably bad, it's almost better to know it just can't work.

Its not impossible. Could support side by side. I just doubt they would since they basically said no.

I didn't know that was possible - but at any rate, side by side is only an option for relatively few 3d gamers. I'm included in that subset and would love to have it, but it might not be worth the effort.
Its doubtful. Yet they're probably only looking at it like gimmicky crap that their games don't need. Another sad thing is I own all of them so far and have yet to play them because of it.
Next version of engine either has full direct x support or optional. I havent read into it.
So there may be hope in the future.
@TsaebehT Its kind of amazing how your icon makes that scene look amazing.
Yeah it's kinda hit or miss with them, I use Gimp and just cut a larger portion of the area I want, paste is as a new layer and align it with the area I want to draw focus to, crop it to a 1:1 ratio, set the top layer to 50% visibility, create new layer from visible, duplicate that layer, and rearrange them so they follow each of the L & R frames, (Left/Mix/Right/Mix) then resize it to 200x200 and export it as an animated gif. Pretty sure that was one of HeliX's pics. I had one I did of Darksiders, War, but for some reason NVIDIA didn't give it it's blessing. Since Doom 3: BFG is playable in 3D with 3D vision, maybe other openGL games can be played in 3D too. Here's what you all need to do. 1. Stop complaining to Nvidia about openGL 3D on these geforce forums. It is not helping. 2. For each openGL game, go to game forums and ask for 3D support (including 3D Vision). The developers will have to contact Nvidia and ask for quad-buffer openGL support for their game. For games which are already released, the developers will probably have to create a game patch. OpenGL 3D may be a lot of work for developers but it is very little work for Nvidia. All nvidia does is enable quad-buffer openGL 3D for that particular game. The challenge is .... can you all convince openGL game developers to contact nvidia and work on enabling 3D Vision and (if necessary) patch quad buffer 3D into their game?

3D or 2D this is a game that no one can miss..Penumbra and Amnesia is so good that you just have to play them no matter what :) But to play them and this one with 3d would of course be amazing.

On the bright side tripple buffering will work... /shrug Joking aside, definitely getting it.
