Which direction to go.
Hey, I'm new to this forum and I hope you guys can help me with a small problem. At the moment I have a BenQ xl2420t, which supports 3D vision, but is 120hz. I'm planning on replacing it with a 144hz ultrawide monitor. I'm also planning on buying an Optoma GT1080 darbee. Here goes my question, will I be able to experience 3D on the GT1080? It's 120hz. If so, would the experience be worse than using my current BenQ certified monitor? And at last, would the 144hz NOT certified monitor also be fit for 3D Vision? I'll try to help you guys with some information. My PC build is going to be a 1800x with a 1080ti. Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately only certified monitors can run 3d the hz doesn't matter :( I haven't seen that anybody with ultrawide monitor played in 3d.

3D Vision does not support 144 Hz. You need to place link to monitor model you are planing to buy. Peobably it wont support 3D Vision.

Actually I know it's not 3D vision certified, I thought that maybe, by now, there was a way to do it. So should I keep my BenQ? Would the projector run any kind of 3D?

There have been posts saying if a Monitor has G-Sync support then it will work with 3D Vision... not sure if it's true or not though, but there are 21:9 G-Sync Monitors...

1. Leave the old one, buy another, have two. 2. Replace 2420T with 2420Z. It's a small improvement in 2D image. 3. Buy 1440p 16:9 3D Vision supporting model

I decided to keep the old 2420t, buy the ultrawide 144hz and use the old one whenever I want to play 3D games, a 1440p 3D Vision one would be too expensive I think. Thanks anyway!!!

There are some Acer IPS monitors compatible with 3D, but I haven't heard about a single one (IPS or not) that is ultrawide. I have the Asus PG278QR and it's the best 3D monitor I've used (the others were BenQ XL2411Z and Dell S2716DG). I hope we can someday get 4K OLED HDR 3D monitors.

Since I've never experienced 3D vision, maybe a 24 inch will suffice for now.
