3D disables Aero - can't watch YouTube 3D
I'm just wondering if anyone else still has the same problem or if anyone has a fix for it as Nvidia's tech support seem unable to help.

The Problem for me:
When I enable 3D and change my monitor refresh rate to 120Hz, aero stays on. I can then check on the Stereo HTML5 Checklist on the 3DVision Live site and pass the checks. As soon as I attempt to play a 3D video (not Youtube), view 3D photos or even run the 'Test Stereoscopic 3D' option in Nvdia Control Panel, Aero is disabled and I can't watch 3D videos on Youtube. All other 3D applications (games, 3DVision Live vidoes/photos etc) work fine even though Aero is disabled. The only 3D process that doesn't disable Aero is the 3D setp wizard?!

I have been through the problem with tech support and tried various drivers, old, new and beta. Currently using 285.62.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks for the support and help with the enormous rush of answers!
FWIW, as of now I still have this problem, even with 301.24 driver, Firefox 12, all Windows updates etc. etc. etc.

I saw your other post on this as well. I have exactly the same problem. I *cannot* get 3D Vision to work on YouTube, no matter what I do. Following every instruction for browser, version, HTML 5 setting, driver version, etc etc I have never yet been able to view a 3D Vision YouTube video. I can view 3DVisionLive.com, Solutiongaming.com and Phereo.com in 3DVision just fine. The Aero thing does not bother me, I usually have it turned off to save a bit of VRAM, but turning it on or off makes no difference to YT.

So I have given up on YouTube 3D. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone, and that the implementation of 3D on YT is very clearly a pile of c**p.

Can you guys give me some youtube video examples that are not working?

I suspect this may be some expectations that do not match exactly what is supported here, as not all videos on YouTube will support 3D Vision, it has to be uploaded in a certain format in order for it to work with the 3D Vision Kit.

I suspect this may be the reason since, 3D Vision live is working for you which uses the exact same method to show 3D Video as YouTube

Josh - Thanks for the quick reply. I will dig a few out tonight when I get home. Could I ask also that you provide a link or two to videos on the YouTube that you are certain *should* work (i.e. when you go to YouTube.com you can see 3DVision rendered videos)? Thanks.

Depth is a little funky, but its activated and working:

Depth a little funky on this one too:

If you open a video and it gives you a HTML 5 error its because the video was not uploaded in the correct format, and with the amount of videos on youtube, you are likely to see alot more of those than functioning 3D videos. Which is why we have a YouTube channel on 3DVisionlive

Yep - I can verify that all of these do work in 3D Vision for me full screen and all. So the problem is the upload format it seems. Thanks for working through this.

The Youtube videos don't work for me and anything else in 3D still disables aero as soon as 3D kicks in. Re-read the start of my post explaining MY problem.
