Call of Duty Original in 3D Vision COD1 - How to?
Hello

Seeing the last iterations of the COD series I have been trying to re-play Call of Duty 1, the original one, because I have nice souvenirs, specially because I played it in 3D with a CRT and the old nvidia drivers and edimensional glasses.

Unhappily I tested it with the 3D vision drivers and the samsung 2233RZ and it does not work (it does nothing when trying to activate). Does someone know how to make it work with 3D vision? Other DX7 games work. And I have my best memories of CoD series from COD1 and 2. Please, someone could help me, please?

Tx

If I recall correctly, the original call of duty was based on the quake 3 engine. Hence opengl. Hence no 3d luv. Even though you could do it before, apparently Nvidia forgot how.

Not played Call of Duty 1 for quite some time, but I recently played CoD 2 which is amazing in 3D, beats a great deal of the newer games.. Ive got a little preview of it in 3D here if you wanted to see how it looks.

have you tried gldirect? you drop it in your game directory and it converts the day from opengl to direct x, i use it quite a few older opengl games (does not work on newer games) but i have not tried it with call of duty.

Thank you

I have installed GLDirect 5 (in Win 98 compatibility mode, otherwise it does not launch) but when I configure the driver and click Apply it says that the OPENGL DLL is in use. Please exit any applications that may be using it"

I use Win7 x64 (people says it works) and I don't know which program could be using opengl, it is a fresh boot. Could someone help me please?

Tx
Thank you

Hi,

I installed it in another WIn 7 x64 os and running with Win98 compatibility it does not give me the error, I can click Apply and it does not say nothing, but at the same time it does not create any file (opengl32.dll) in the program folder! There are only two files opengl32.dx8 and opengl32.gl5 which are created by the installer not the program itlsef. I have even tried to copy and rename to opengl32.dll and put them to COD folder but the program crashes.

I have read the user guide but apparently there is no need to copy any file to the game folder, nevertheless "everybody" here tells that I have to copy that file... Please could someone help me a little? I am lost now.

Thank you

I have found GLDirect in sourceforge, which is the source code and it includes the build of opengl32.dll, I guess you were referring to that file. I tested it but CoD crashes when loading. What a pity...

I found also TitaniumGL (another OGL -> DirectX) wrapper but it does not work for CoD neither... Shiro321 or other, could you test COD1 with GLDirect? Maybe is a problem of my system...

Thanks!
