Does cyberlinks new update allow for blueray 2d to 3d conversion
just as the title states. I read on this forum that cyberlink came out with there new 3d plugin I have totalmedia right now but if cyberlink takes 2d blueray and changes them into 3d blueray I would be willing to upgrade to cyberlink

Indeed it does not. It probably requires too much processing...although with the new graphics cards like the 470/480 etc., as it can offload the decoding I am surprised there isn't enough CPU power available to do it. Maybe in the next update!

EDIT: Could it simply be that its not legally possible due to HDCP and therefore not being able to modify the signal in any way?

It converts well raw clips from HD cam (1080i) so processing power is not the issue.

I think it has to do with the blu ray format than hardware limitations.

It does convert 2d to 3d blue ray streem file from BDMV\STREAM DIR, but DVD has to be decrypted first, I use DVDFAB 7.
I have dual core 2.8Ghz Pentium which seems to have enought horspower to do real time conversion.
The problem I foud is that Cyberilnk does not play 3D blueray Panasonic demo DVD I have, but 'Total Media Theatre plays the same disk with no problems, looks like Cyberlink is not ready to play all 3D blue ray standards at this point...
To play 3D blue ray on 'Total Media Theatre' I have to use quad procesor, on dual core, audio and video is 'jerky'
