Need for Speed - Payback
  3 / 4
The HUD is like 0.1 depth and yes the road in the map is a little off...i can't change to much, because the same shader/texture is reposable for some icons that already are working dynamic in 3D....so is worst. I don't have issues hooking the fix, not a single time....very strange...maybe is something related to win10 (i'm still using win7) PS: someone in the blog says that the fix also works for NFS 2016 :)

I'm on Win 7 also - so it's not Win 10. Is Rundll32 supposed to come up every time you start? For me it only comes up the first time and never again - I've installed the game twice to check. Sometimes the game starts and 3d just won't kick in at all. Sometimes it kicks in for 1 eye only and I can't ctrl alt insert to see your message. Sometimes it works properly and I can see your message. Very rarely it kind of breaks and game elements are at all different depths. I ran DDU and updated to the latest driver. I have also tried both the origin version and a cracked version of the game. Re the road - I just turned it off, the game is perfectly playable without it. Sorry, I don't have the NFS before this, so can't try.

This game is addicting and visually stunning thanks to the 3DV fix, I can't stop playing. Don't get why the review scores are low but I loved it, too much arcade racing fun. Thanks so much for the amazing fix DHR. BTW, game is 75% sale in Origin store if anyone interested.

Since my aging GPU can't run Payback in 3D Vision, I haven't tried since my initial posts in this thread. But for what it's worth, I was having the same problems that ummester is describing. It was totally random as to whether the game would display 3D correctly. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I'm on Windows 10, but it doesn't sound like that's the issue. Just wanted to let everyone know it's not just him. @ lacuna: I'm so glad you are enjoying it. Yes, it is quite a fun game and I too don't understand the criticism. I think it's a case of so many previous NFS titles being bad, that when a good one comes along, people can't accept it.

@SnickerSnack, as you stated it's a very demanding game, I'm currently playing at 1440p (DSR) with mostly ultra settings (vegetation is High) using monitor. Even my CPU is currently causing bottleneck, GPU usage rises to max in some areas with Vsync on (50 fps limited). Because of the performance I didn't bother to try on 4K TV before, but now tried it because of curiosity and the problems mentioned by ummester also happens sometimes with my system while using TV. There's also a big memory leak issue at 2160p or game uses more than 11GB memory at 2160p. It devours 1080ti's 11GB memory and 16GB system RAM completely in seconds. But no problems with my Benq 1080p monitor and works everytime. I'm using 398.11 WHQL driver. Also for anyone wondering couldn't get upscaling work with 3DMigoto for this game.

I don't know if is the display...i'm playing in a 3DTV, but at 1080p, not 4K. I think this game is very demanding (every Frostbite3 game is) and if you are on the limit you see those issues. Also i noticed those memory leak issues using 3D in every Frostbite3 game... is the engine.
^^^ Interesting, so the problem may be display related?
Or EDID override/passive display related? I take it lacuna's TV is a passive display, or at least requires an EDID to work with 3d vision.

Maybe it's related to OS or display conection type or something else. Or mixture of several things causing issues... If it helps to identify the issue, here's my setup: - LG 4K Passive TV with Joker18's EDID, tried the game at 1440p and it's problematic. 2160p causes memory leak, so no healthy tests were possible. - BenQ 1080p monitor connected with DisplayPort, tried at both native 1080p and 1440p (DSR), no issues. - Driver is 398.11, rest of the info is in my signature. - Background programs are Aida64 and MSI Afterburner, but without OSD (overlay) function (I'm using Logitec G19's mini screen).

I have installed my new GTX 1080 and tried Payback again. Unfortunately now that I have the power to run it, it still seems to be broken. I've disabled Origin in-game, MSI Afterburner, but it still seems to hook differently every time it is launched. Different effects will be broken or fixed each time. Rats!

Try using DDU....there is an option for changing GPU. "Clean and shut down". That seems a driver issue.

yes..there is a chance that some left over remaing... Also you can try disabling the OC in your CPU....Frostbite3 engine is not a friendly engine to OC.

Reporting back... I did a DDU uninstall and clean install of the latest drivers. It fixed some problems outside of the game related to running dual displays. Inside the game, 3D did improve and is playable, but some objects were still at the wrong depth. The car itself rendered perfectly except for the wheels. The problems that still existed were a deal breaker for me. I did not change the CPU clock speed - as fun as 3D is, I'm not interested in going through the steps and nerfing my system that much in order to see improvement for this one game. On another note, since upgrading to the 1080, there has developed an infuriating stuttering within Payback. The FPS is anywhere from 50 to 100, but the constant stuttering feels anything but smooth. It's exactly like the stuttering I would get when trying to run a dual-GPU in SLI before they released an SLI profile for the game. It's puzzling to me considering the 1080 is a single-GPU card.
