I get home and press the power button on the PC as usual but screen remain black. I see Signal not detected. I reset the computer and see Windows boot then when desktop is about to pop screen goes black. :-(
Reset again and boot in safe mode, 800x600 kicks in but I select 1920x1080. It works but there is a black border all around the screen, look at screen settings (I haven't touched btw) and ratio is set to Full so I don't know why this black border but nevermind, I uninstall Nvidia driver and reboot, download latest driver while at it and do a clean install.
After reboot same black screen when desktop is about to show, I hear the Windows sound.
Damn! I'm glad I have a DP cable at home, I plug it and select DP input and it works! I tried to setup 3D and was able to pass the test! Didn't know 120Hz was possible with DP.
After all this I tried to plug the DVI-D cable and same blank screen result. It looks like the handshake between the screen and the video card is wrong.
So I wonder, will DP limit me in anyway compared to DVI-D I always used?
I have the same monitor and my DVI port stopped working too.
Really!? How it happened? What is weird is it works as I was able to boot in safe mode and change resolution to 1920x1080 but like I said with black border. Maybe it's the Full HD 120Hz that cause a problem? I'm so glad DP is working and that it supports 3D. I had no money to get a new monitor now.

Odd, seems unlikely that it's a hardware failure and more likely something introduced in the driver now that it's confirmed by the both of you.
I'd file a bug report if I were you guys, you never know when you will want to resort back to that DVI connection and it's easier for Nvidia to correct a bug if you know the last known good working driver.

Why on that day the screen was black at wake up is a mystery.

Same thing. Just happened out of nowhere. I also tried many drivers and nothing worked. I was sure the monitor was dead but decided to buy a DP cable and it worked right away. Kind of annoying but I actually needed that DVI port on the videocard for something else anyway. LOL.
I'm guessing it's a faulty input controller/board on the monitor. I'm sure I can get it fixed or replaced under warranty...
I was sure the monitor was dead
Same here and was a bit panicked because didn't have 500$ for a monitor just now and could not imagine a week without access to computer.

There's been similar problems posted in the Driver sub-forum about issues when monitors wake up.
Manuel has stated that they expect to release a fix in the next driver.
With any luck, it will solve your issue.
We believe we are close to root causing this problem and have a fix in the next driver.
Thanks D-Man11, went there and asked Manuel, he replied here.
This is very strange because like I said I had the same driver for months, will try to ask Manuel about this.
