cleaning projector screen
i received a 2.9 gain draper radiant screen, the brightness is great for 3d, but there was a tiny thin line on one of the corners that i attempted to clean and in doing so created a large dark smudge that just won't disappear. any advice? ;(

I hear you should use denatured alcohol to clean those screens. Did you use water? The problem with water is that it just takes a long time to evaporate, and it will appear dark until it does. As long as you didn't damage the screen by rubbing too hard, you probably just need to wait for it to eventually dry.

i used water, i'm thinking i should have used a high gain paint instead of getting a screen http://www.elitescreens.com/index.php/products/chromaflux-screen-paint/1727-silver-3d-coat-sprayed-58408441#4-gain-chart 4.0 gain at 0 degrees, but 3.0 gain at like 5 degrees. so probably no brighter than what i'm using, there is 2.8 gain paint on ebay @ $30 per quart

Smudges on high gain screens are one of the banes of my existence. I have never been able to repair it, even with paint. The best way that I have found around the problem is to cut a piece out from a corner in a square shape, and stick it carefully onto the affected area with double sided sticky, being careful not to get oils and dirt from your hands on the cut piece or the screen. No, it won't become invisible, but in my experience it's the best thing you can do short of replacing the entire screen. Trying to clean it will only make it worse. I feel your pain :( -- Shahzad.
