How Much Flickering is Normal? Probable Defective Product? Driver Issues?
I just obtained the Nvidia 3D Vision and a Samsung 2233RZ monitor last night. Have been using the 3D Vision for about 5 hours in total.

I am getting the flickering issue with my setup.

There are only a limited number of games I can use the 3D Vision with.

Bioshock, Aion, World of Warcraft and Team Fortress 2 are the games I have tried the 3D Vision with.

Some of the games seem to be worse than others but universally there is flickering every 30 secs if not more rapidly (2-4 times per 10 seconds). Especially in World of Warcraft the problem makes the game unplayable. It seems the right eye of the glasses will rapidly switch on and off.

I have the IR receiver just below my monitor about 25 inches viewing distance. The glasses are fully charged (being charged overnight with the PC on). I'm playing at night with the lights turned off and the monitor brightness set to full.

Currently my system specs are:

Core2 Duo 3.0GHz
4gb Memory
nvidia GTX295
Samsung 2233RZ monitor

All my refresh rates are working properly with the monitor showing 120MHz.

My driver version is 190.62.

I'm running Windows 7 RC7100 x64

Is this amount of flickering normal? Do I have software related issues or should I be seeking a replacement for the 3D Vision?

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Things to consider;

Halogen bulbs, direct sunlight & devices that use infrared can interfer with the ir emiter - this device should be in direct sight of your glasses
make sure batteries are fully charged
Nhancer and One Care installed on your system can cause this
try a different USB port, preferably one that is not being shared by anything else according to device manager - external hubs are a big no no!

I have tryed almost everything:
- tryed all settings of 3d vision (100,110,120hz)
- tryed all the 3 options of the IR configuration
- tryed 6 different nvidia drivers
- tryed 2 os ( vista x64 and win7 x64)
- tryed 2 pc (my notebook dell m1730 and my desktop)
- tryed turn off all lights
- tryed switch differents usb ports
- tryed set all details in games and nvidia panel to very very low

... and i still have big problems with flickering.

I think the IR emitter is bugged, or the drivers sux.

Hi,
have been having this issue on similar hardware config - try to disable multi-GPU in Nvdia Control Panel. I think, 3Ghz Core 2 duo isn't powerful enough for GTX 295.
Can also check, if your graphic card is mounted in PCI-E x16 slot, some motherboards got only one PCI-E slot running at full speed.

if your playing in the dark you should receive no blinking

i usually play with many illuminated lights my remote and my IR wireless keyboard and still no blinking

heres some things to consider

Are you creating a custom resolution under your NV control panel and clicking advanced options and setting it to Reduced Blanking mode?

Also what is your average FPS ? stuttering can happen if you receive low FPS

When you received your glasses for the first time did you fully charge them?

120hz mode will be the best but i dont think you actually have to set it , it might just automatically go to it .

I've done a clean install of Windows 7 x64 and used the latest drivers available on the nvidia website.

World of warcraft still has consistent flickering/blinking/white flashes as does Aion (though less).

Would it be time to seek a replacement?
