Call of Duty Ghosts
I have preordered Call of Duty Ghosts after reading this information on the GeForce website http://www.geforce.co.uk/games-applications/pc-games/call-of-duty-ghosts It states; 'This time around GeForce GTX-powered PCs receive the definitive Call of Duty: Ghosts experience thanks to NVIDIA-exclusive technologies and features, such as TXAA Anti-Aliasing, 3D Vision, SLI and PhysX, which adds incredible effects to Activision's next-gen first-person shooter.' Then I download a new driver and it says 3d vision profile added for ghosts = 'fair' some objects rendered at wrong depth!?! How can this be? Black ops was 3d vision ready, battlefield 3 was 3D vision ready and now we just have talk and no walk in both of these new games. Is 'fair' the definitive call of duty ghosts experience? It's sure looking that way with current 3D vision support in the big games being released at the moment. I've also read that nvidia have a team at infinity ward 'working hard' for nvidia card owners. Well I don't think they are working hard enough IMO. Get helix over there or chiri. People who can give your customers what they want. TXAA and FXAA makes colours washy and blurry. I might as well just turn down the sharpness on my TV to get the same effect. (Panasonic ST50) I always use 4xMSAA as it looks a lot better in my opinion. A bit of 'jaggyness' but keeps strong colours and sharpness. Physics can be rendered on the CPU . (That doesn't do much in games anyway) 3D should be a priority as it's what differentiates you in the market place IMO Nvidia don't have any hardware in the next gen consoles so games with 3D Vision Ready support is crucial to keep you in front of the competition. I tried battlefield 4 today, looks good apart from shadows and light effects only working in one eye. Do we have to wait another 3 months to get a patch to fix it? (Like battlefield 3) Wait for helix mod to fix it? I'm getting fed up with the lack of support for 3D vision in games and would really like to know if Nvidia are actually doing anything to improve the situation. If 2 people can make games 3D Vision ready, why can't Nvidia? I paid my 3DTV Play license for gaming solutions, not problems, shortcomings and hopes that 3rd party individuals will rectify what should have been ready in the first place. When it works it works well. I love 3D vision ready games and play them every day. People don't want to be copying .dlls and shader override folders into games. 3D Vision needs better support and a more streamlined process making it easier for people to use. It's like nvidia are making it as hard as possible for the uneducated gamer to get a decent 3D gaming experience, which will only devalue and cost nvidia losses in sales as a consequence. Nobody wins, this is not how it's meant to be played. My comments might sound harsh but they are 'fair'

@GibsonRed: 100% agree! First of all --> English isn`t my mother tongue ... please be patient. After 20 years of gaming I wanted to quit playing computer games last year. I felt too old and bored continuing this kind of hobby. But just before selling all my computer stuff, I ordered an used Acer 245 3D Vision Monitor. I felt like reborn. In my first 3D Vision weeks I thought about being infected with massiv "New Toy Syndrom" sickness. After this inspiration I started a 3D Vision discussion thread @ ComputerBase Forum to share information, screenshots, 3D Vision game support, modding, 3D Vision hardware and beyond ... (--> check my signature). This thread evolved to one of the biggest discussion threads around 3D Vision in german spoken forums with 100.000 klicks and about 1.300 postings at this time. In western europe 3D Vision seems like to be less than a niche product. No reporting about this toppic in computer magazines or on computer websites. Computer Journalists aren´t willing to give it a try. So our little 3D Vision Fanboy Community is reliant on this discussion thread to share 3D Vision aspects in our mother tongue. At this time we`re discussing about the lack of 3D Vision support @ BF4 and fear the 3D Vision future @ DX11. Thx Helix, eqzitara, chiri and others ... you keep our hobbie alive. If 3D Vision dies, my way its meant to be played comes to a dead end. After discovering 3D Vision I stopped pre ordering or buying games which didn`t support 3D Vision. Battlefield 4 or COD Ghosts with deficient 3D Vision support --> Not on my computer System. I stopped giving any cent buying computer games with grotty 3D Vision support. So far, over and out. I invite You to visit us in my discussion forum to give an opinion about 3D Vision and beyond. It would be enriching to share 3D Vision attitudes across the borders. Maybe we`ll see there, greetings from Western Europe, ronrebell.

Well said, Ron! Btw, same thing here. Without 3D Vision I wont play BF4 nor CoD nor Assassins Creed. 3DVision is the reason (and the only reason for me) that I spent nearly €2000 for nvidia Hardware since Fermi. If 3D Vision dies, I will quit PC Gaming. So nvidia, hire Helix, Chiri or whoever. Or do dev support to keep 3D Vision alive. PLEASE! Best, Sam

However, you could argue nvidia considered 3D Vision abandonware which is why they have left the 3D Vision home page as it is. They cannot say this now though, with the release of Ghosts. At what point is this in breach of advertising laws?

I mentioned in another thread here that I had doubts about the game having 3D Vision support when I saw that comment. I apologize in advance for the following rant. I am not sure we will ever see another 3D Vision ready game released. Over the past year or so the only ones we have gotten were games like Metro:Last Light and Batman:Arkham Origins. Both of those games used engines from prior releases that were 3D Vision Ready. I think we got lucky that the developers didn't break anything in 3D when working on the newer titles. I think this goes hand in hand with the de-emphasis on 3DTV's also in general. I blame crappy console game and movie implementations, as well as bad word of mouth from people based on those experiences and wrongly assuming that 3D Vision would be just as bad. Honestly, the creation of Helix's mod and the game fixes he has done, as well as the work from others that frequent these forums, has kept it alive this long. I do not even know of any games in the works that are confirmed to have 3D Vision support. Right now we are only getting titles that the developers have shown some interest in, like Neverwinter, for example. I still await from hearing from Andrew, the Nvidia person in charge of 3D Vision, to come back and post the supposed features that he was talking to his engineers about. I realize he wasn't exactly overly active in the years prior but when I see things like all of the driver release notes recently do not even mention 3D Vision profile additions or changes then that speaks volumes to me.

Hi, I have joined the forums to contribute to the 3D vision discussions. I have been using 3D vision for about 3 months now and I am completely sold. This is fantastic technology that, if properly supported, adds an incredible immersion factor to the games. This is better than many new graphics features like tessellation or the gazzilion AA solutions. I mean Metro 2033 was an absolutely crazy experience. To see ALL new AAA games (except Batman AO) abysmally fail at 3D support is insulting. This is not next gen, this is a step back. The only reason I see for this is small adoption of 3D Vision. It is somewhat understandable as it requires a dedicated monitor or external IR emitter, which is not very cheap and a farily decent system as the framerate drops significantly. Many people are still not sold on wearing glasses as well, even though they're actually not that big of a deal (maybe cause I wear glasses, they don't bother me much). Still, if features like advanced, performance-heavy AA solutions, giga-textures, ambient occlusion etc. are introduced and supported for high-end systems why would 3D vision not be? It is a better feature than any of those graphical effects. I like the innovations coming from NVidia but to see them abandon 3DV like that is a slap on the face. It looks like studios are also not making things better, because they don't even advertise 3D for titles that look terrific in 3D even though they're not 3DV-rated (Tomb Raider apparently looks gorgeus, yet it isn't even listed as 3D vision ready or hyped up for S3D). anyway, I hope something is done and maybe the Oculus Rift will revive things a little cause this is disappointing. BF4, COD:Ghosts, AC4, SC:Blacklist - shame on you for lack of S3D support.

The reason im asking is to recommend you an alternate solution. Its called tridef 3d, third party software that i use as often as 3d vision. Unfortanetly tridef is not compatible with 3d vision certified screens, but if you are using nvidia 3dtv play with a tv or a projector which does SBS or top/bottom and doesnt require nvidia glasses, you can use tridef too. To be honest ive used tridef much more than 3d vision now-a-days due the wider support on new titles, but its still more of a backup for 3d vision. It seems ghosts is getting a tridef profile soon, one of the employees just wrote on the forums that its almost done. Anyway, if its possible, give tridef a shot. They have 15-day trial for the software.

Very good 3D Stereo in 3840x2160, but after playing near 3-4 minutes video freeze and stopping, sound continues to play. And resolution are skipped to 640x480 after rerun game. Fix from Helixmod site. What to do?
