Not sure as to why but Nvidia says this game is not recomended, HOWEVER it might be the dam best 3D game I ever played. There is even 3d vision settings built into the game, Slo-mo and 3d is something else. I wish there was a demo for everyone to get to try out with 3d vision. Game runs very well on my older system too. Anyway Was shocked not to see anything new about max payne 3 in this forum.

Im waiting for the steam files to decrypt, and hoping desperately I get to play before I have to leave for work. I have high hopes for this game and it sounds like I wont be disapointed :-)

Running ok now but i had issues at max settings.

Looked like plasma image retention, there was a imprint of a light and a man, rebooted with changed settings and its gone.
Playing in dx10.1 as sli gtx 670 are'nt fast enough for dx11 1080p/60fps 3d.
Great looking game, runs virtually 60fps everywhere so far at around 60%gpu on both cards in 3d of course and with my personal settings /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />.

I was'nt impressed when i seen teh nV rating but things look good :)
Had a full system crash, hopefully it will be the only one but having one 10 minutes in is'nt very reasuring.

So is it really perfect? I remember some of the early reports on Alan Wake said that and it was far from it. Hopefully that is the case and we don't have to really on the 3D community to clean it up.

OHH YES... this is what I've been waiting to hear! /clap.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':clap:' />
I just hope the 3D is as good as Batman Arkham City, That would be "Legend(wait for it)ary" /spaz.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':spaz:' />
and I hope the nvidia SLI driver works good for this games while playing in 3D. Right now I'm using the (296.10) driver.
and running 3way GTX 570 SLI. I'm hoping to put everything on MAX(Payne)settings, hehe /tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':tongue:' /> .
I just bought the game and I'm downloading it right now. Can't wait to bring the Payne!.

Fxaa is the culprit of my crashes i believe and msaa uses way too many resources to make it usable, Gonna have todo some gfx tweaking i think and turn some settings down if i want msaa.

I was hoping my 670's would be enough for max settings on games but its not looking that way with quite a few games i've played, either way its still a big boost over 570's.

There some very serious performance issue with 3D activated (only the latest 301.42 tested atm).
Running a single 570 here, but also 670 is affected from what I read, so I think it's a game or driver problem.
Just to be clear:
2D 1080p -> crazy fps, well above 60fps all the time. 1920*1080= 2.073.600 pixels
3D 720p -> very low fps, around 35. 1280*720*2= 1.843.200 pixeks

I guess that's why Nvidia doesn't recommend to turn 3d on.

Yeah, you're right.
Has Alan Wake been fixed? I haven't checked in a while.

That's very cool to see the game implement 3D vision support via in-game controls. As for Alan Wake, with the update, and (for me at least) playing it at 30% depth with default convergence settings, the game looks pretty damn good. Sure, there's some minor self shadowing issues (shadows appear in just one eye on certain objects), but the majority of the shadowing issues/anomalies seem to be resolved by lowering the shadow quality setting to "low". I tend to prefer playing everything at 100% max depth setting, but I was still impressed.

I really love when a developer, even one such as Rockstar who hasn't been the biggest proponent of 3D gaming, release one of their major titles supporting 3D vision with 3D menu support in-game. This looks to be a fantastic PC (not a port) version of the game!

Crosshair, shadows and shaders are on the correct depth? Screenshots please.
Is framerate really low and what graphics card & cpu you are using?
How movement and aiming works on keyb & mouse?

Sorry, but I'm always sceptical when new game comes out. This could be really good action game, I hope everything works fine.

It would be great to play this in 3D Vision if I actually could launch the damn game. I'm currently on my second download (30GB!!) via Steam and I have a bad feeling it won't help either (as many who have done so are still unable to launch the game). This seems to be a very widely spread issue and it also seems to affect many whom have bought the retail version as well. Sadly people who have pirated the game are happily playing the game but many who actually bought the game are having multiple serious issues running the game. I really really hope RockStar comes up with a proper fix really soon because this is just preposterous.

Edit:
Aaannd...redownloading didn't help at all. Still having exactly the same issues...
