Beginner's Guide to Understanding and Using NVIDIA 3D Vision/3DTV Play (WIP)

I'm not saying the Guide is a 100% perfect, it's technically still noted a 'WIP' and there's a ton of things I'd like to change and add to it but to address your issues, [i]if[/i] these are actually even the issue here.[url=https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/919380/3d-vision/discussion-about-depth-and-convergence/]..[/url] 1. That's in the Quick-Start part of the Guide... if you're having issues with it or don't understand part of it then you're supposed to read the full guide, just like a quick-start insert vs a full user manual... a quick Ctrl+F of ipd would take you to where I went more in-depth about it. 2. Again that's in the Quick-Start part of the Guide and you're ignoring the note right next to it... I had planned to add a section about adjusting Depth and Convergence, I know plenty of us have discussed it many times, but you'll have to forgive me I was trying to come up with some visual materials to go along with it. As far as actually setting Depth to your IPD, it's as simple as taking off the glasses and measuring it at the screen... there's a fairly simple way to calculate it as well. 3. If your MonitorSize isn't being registered properly, EDID hack or just wonky Drivers, or if you have a small head then 100% may over your IPD, again it can be measured by taking off the glasses and looking at the screen. There are users that say 100% and there are users that say well over 100%... there are users that say IPD and there are users that say well over their IPD... at the end of the day, it's hard to know exactly what to suggest as far as Depth goes, varying personal tastes... varying hardware, Monitors vs TVs vs Projectors... even if I thought it was perfect in it's current state, it's still just a guide, not the 10 commandments, you need to use your own judgement... I think it's safe to say there have been far more unsavory first impressions caused by rocking the default 15% Depth and not properly adjusting Convergence than my Guide. :P

Of course convergence must also be adjusted. meh, there are a lot of posters/lurkers here that use 100% depth on their monitors without eye strain at close distances. Of course convergence must also be adjusted.

Also the convergence adjustments are mentioned in all of the user guides included with the 3D Vision kit.

So first of all HI I recently bought 3d vision, nvidia send me a code but i have no idea on what to do with the code i went to nvidia control panel enable 3d and change resolution to a 3d 1080 refresh 24 that is the max cause i am on HDMI, i play 3d movies with these settings and other software for bluray 3D, but when i try to play batman AC in 3D for example i go to game options and enable 3d already with the configuration i said before (3d 1080 refresh 24 from nvidia´s control panel) access the game and nothing happen, please help, thanx.

Wow, what an awesome guide TsaebehT. Just got 3D vision- never too late to the party right? Took me a few times to read and really understand the difference between depth and convergence but that really makes sense now and your guide is very useful on what is happening when you adjust these. Those visuals would be a great idea but the description alone is great, not something easy to describe. Now onto figuring out shader hacking , etc so I can graduate 3D school and be helpful making fixes in the community (I.e. I'm a developer)

Hi I use a vr glasses with a cell phone. in the configuration of the player for 3d movies has the configuration of how much the left and right images are far from each other: IPD the images: left and right should be as far apart as possible? or should they stay as close together as possible? for the 3d effect to be very visible? thanks
