ADVICE ON NEW MONITOR PURCHASE NEW MONITOR PURCHASE
I am new to the 3D technology that gets piped through the ole Nvidia card.

I want to purchase a Monitor to take advantage of this, but im not finding clear information on what i would need to make a selection. Or if it is even worth wild to take the step forward.

The biggest worry i have is if i dont get true HD when it comes to playing games at 1080p, i keep skimming across people saying they get dumb down to 720p?

What im considering is two different manufactures,

the new sony playstation 24" 3dtv, which is supposed to come out next month. MODEL NUMBER 98078
and either one of the new samsung 27" models that are promoting high contrast 3d, and has the ability to convert the screne through the monitor in 3d. model number S27A950D AND T27A750

I didnt know if these two monitor were too new to list on nvidias compatability listing or not.

Also not sure if i would have to purchase the NVIDIA 3DTV software vs getting the glasses and kit to enable the 3d vision on my 470gtx.

I plan on getting the 3d vision Kit requardless, that isnt a factor in my purchase.

thanks in advance for any advice.

stephenreal,

The 720p/60 gaming limitation that you are hearing about is due to the bandwidth limitation of the HDMI I/O used by some of the alternative 3D solutions like the PS3.

3D Vision PC displays have been designed based on the Dual-Link DVI interface, which offers much more bandwidth and thus, allowing 1080p gaming 60fps.

You can refer to the following page on NVIDIA.com for a complete list of 3DVision-Ready 3D displays:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-displays.html

I'll let users comment on their model preferences...

Please note that if you connect your 3D Vision PC to a 3DTV and the 3DTV Play kit (using HDMI cable) then you will be facing the same 720p limitation...

First off you would not want the T27A750 it does not have a DVI-D input. The new Sony, dunno, but if it doesn't, scratch it. In the 27 inch range, there are currently 2 models that work. the Acer HN274H and the Samsung S27A950D http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/monitors/LS27A950DS/ZA It's important to note the Acer is Nvida supported, where as the Samsung only works being detected as generic plug and play monitor at this time.

Does this ring true for the new 1.4 hdmi cable?
And that you do have to have DVI-D for nvidias 3d to work at 1080?
