Shared Steam Accounts for Shaderhackers
  4 / 8
I picked up SW2 for $12US on Steam. I haven't had time to set it up on a shared account yet (that's the time consuming part where I have to create new Steam accounts and mess around with Russian VPNs), but it's sitting in my inventory waiting for me to sort that out.

Although I ran into a brick wall with Hard Reset Redux, I can take a look at SW2 to see if it's equally FUBAR. Is anyone else planning on taking a serious look at it first, though? If so then I'll hold off.

I'll ask if it's okay for me to answer that (who requested it). Not sure if they're planning on looking at it sooner or later - I'll try and find that out too. Oh, and don't thank me - thank our donators! :)

Took a look at SW2, and it's a big pile of nope from me. EXACT same issues and shaders as Hard Reset Redux. No shader headers confirmed, and what should theoretically work, doesn't. Good luck to anyone to try, and kudos to whomever can actually manage to fix FWH's annoying engine.

I requested SW2 - SW1 was awesome in 3D and I'm looking forward to this one too :) That said I'm travelling for the next week or so, and still have a bunch of other stuff in my personal life taking my attention right now (plus other games on my backlog I want to work on first), so I have no idea when I'd be able to look at it - if anyone else wants to take a crack at it in the meantime feel free.
Dead Rising is set up and ready to go.
I'm making good progress for now, although I had to disable the 2D lamp lights. I tried using the TW3 profile, as well as setting the DX10 flag to 0x00004000. Nothing worked, for now. The left eye view is a copy of the right eye for those lights. They are correct only if I set "surface_createmode=1" in the ini, but that breaks too many things in the game. I wish I could apply this to individual shaders, because there are some icons that are stereoized too (phone, items, mission arrow, world globe in the pause menu...)! It can be done by texture, but I'm terribly bad at texture hunting with 3Dmigoto. By the way, in Windows 7 this game needs the evil update to work (KB 2670838). And then I needed "allow_create_device=2" in "d3dx.ini" (so it needs the update for something DXGI related). This game uses DX11, while I was expecting DX9 like Dead Rising 2. I fixed a reflection issue, made HUD presets, convergence presets, depth of field + vignette hotkey, 2D lights hotkey, and approximate lens flares. I tried to give depth to fake water reflections (which are at surface) for fun...but they have the same rotation problem as Skyrim Special Edition. I'll leave them as they are, for now. There is a fire/smoke issue that needs a fix. I dumped the shader, but I prefer to wait until I see it somewhere for longer than 5 seconds in an unpausable cutscene that has been running for over 2 minutes.

Dump out frame analysis, and try to find the 8 character hash for the render target, and then create a texture override like: [TextureOverride2DLights] Hash=c3e55ebd StereoMode=1 Edit: Doh, there I go again by posting before reading your entire post. I just now saw you said you're aware of it, but struggle with how. Well, that's pretty much the only way to fix some of these issues, so no better time like the present to try again! ;)

I tried that with the "analyse_options = log dump_rt_jps clear_rt" and "analyse_options = log dump_rt clear_rt" options. I got two jps files related to the vertex shader and pixel shader of those lights (weirdly, they aren't paired together in the name of the jps). For the PS: 000383-o0=56297efd-vs=e7f2ec0a62c8a70f-ps=14ff9211a6bbe5e1.jps 4KB, all black. For the VS: 000381-o0=7cc18b7b-vs=141053ab9ddef7a9-ps=aa8a2da5219c2820.jps 12KB, all black. With the second analysis, 127KB and showing some horizontal lines. I suppose that I have to use the number after "o0=".
[TextureOverride1] Hash=56297efd StereoMode=1
or
[TextureOverride1] Hash=7cc18b7b StereoMode=1
They didn't work.

OoooooK, it seems that I have to restart the game to see that kind of changes. I've just given stereoscopy to some HUD elements and a mirror that was flat :). However, the jps related to the shader wasn't the one I was expecting. I'll have to search thoroughly for the lights in this case.
