3D Vision does not work since upgrading to the GeForce 260.99 driver and 3d vision 260.81

Hi – I have just upgraded to the latest drivers (GeForce 260.99 and 3D vision 260.81) from GeForce 258.96 etc.

When I attempt to run in 3D mode I get an error dialogue that says:

Runtime Error!
Programs: C:\Pr...
The application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information

There was no problem before the drivers were upgraded and I have just reinstalled the older drivers and 3D is working again,

My PC has Windows 7 64 bit and a GeForce GTX 480 card.

I did all the usual un-installations of drivers before the upgrade.

I have never had any problems upgrading before – does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Doesn't 3DV require that the drivers be installed from the bundle now? There is no 260.99 3DV bundle yet for whatever reason. 1.37 is the latest CD and it is bundled with 260.89 graphic driver and 260.81 controller driver. I doubt that the 260.81 controller driver will work with the .99 graphics driver. We will just have to wait until they release the newest 3DV full driver CD with the new drivers compatible with 260.99...

Oh yes, it does ! No problems here.
I'd suggest you try again, as the USB Controller driver is rarely updated.
Seems like you are another one who DOES NOT read the Release Highlights released with every driver  .
Click the link to the "Knowledge Base Article".
Just install the 3D Vision driver 260.99 and the nVidia Graphic Driver 260.99 from the 260.99 WHQL pack and ignore the rest.
For the rest, figure it out for yourself... you can't be a noob with that kind of a System !

Well I have been installing everything from the 3dv full cd downloads since about August when they changed everything. I read on another thread where nvidia says that you have to do it that way now. So you are saying that I can just download the whql graphics driver and everything i need is back in there like it used to be? Nvidia is really making things confusing these days with 3dv. They don't even have a 260.99 full cd 3dv pack yet even though the drivers are obviously out and inside the 260.99 graphics driver file.

Hi

First off, we had an FAQ describing the change in R260 to try to make it easier for you. Essentially you can update your USB Controller driver once, and you may never have to update it again. You can then update the graphics driver as much as you want and you get all of the new 3D Vision features there. Please read this FAQ.

http://nvidia.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/nvidia....amp;p_topview=1

Now to your specific points, are you install these two drivers?
260.99 WHQL Certified GPU driver http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista...hql-driver.html

Personally, I have just installed this on my Wndows 7 64-bit system with GTX 480 SLI and it works fine.

Andrew, I assume the 260.99 whql driver has everything I need in it then without installing the .81 3d driver separately? I haven't installed anything yet as I am still researching these drivers. I read somewhere that these drivers cause the 4xx series cards to run 100% full blast even in windows and that is not acceptable to me and I won't install if that is the case. Do you know if this is true?
Oh yes, it does ! No problems here.
I'd suggest you try again, as the USB Controller driver is rarely updated.
Seems like you are another one who DOES NOT read the Release Highlights released with every driver  .

Maybe we do read them and we just want to make sure before we have any issues. Try not to be such a **** about this stuff. We are just trying to help each other out. Not all of us who have splurged on a nice setup can afford to replace parts. I know plenty of people who replace drivers by the rules, drivesweeper or not, that still have issues. Oh and by the way "You heard that here first"

Just install the 3D Vision driver 260.99 and the nVidia Graphic Driver 260.99 from the 260.99 WHQL pack and ignore the rest.

For the rest, figure it out for yourself... you can't be a noob with that kind of a System !

Oh and by the way "You heard that here first"
Andrew, I assume the 260.99 whql driver has everything I need in it then without installing the .81 3d driver separately? I haven't installed anything yet as I am still researching these drivers. I read somewhere that these drivers cause the 4xx series cards to run 100% full blast even in windows and that is not acceptable to me and I won't install if that is the case. Do you know if this is true?
Hi

Please read the FAQ, it explains it all on what drivers to install.

Again i run 260.99 right now, and WIndows isnt broken for me. Im running GTX 480 SLI.
