Side-by-side?
The monitor I was using previously before my 3D Vision one had built-in options for rendering side-by-side stuff in 3D correctly.

This new monitor doesn't appear to have such a function, so I have not yet found a way to make side-by-side stuff work. Specifically, I have two blu-ray rips and Sonic Generations that both use side-by-side to pull off the 3D effect. Any way to do this?

Specifically, monitor is BenQ xl2420t and GPU is GTX 670. It's connected by Displayport.

Not sure how helpful this is.

First of all do you still have the other monitor?

Most monitors that lack emitter and does not come with glasses will not render side by side.

This makes the side by side version of sonic generation pretty worthless. I captured a session in fraps once and played it back to see the difference between using 3D Vision and the built-in 3D.

The built-in 3D appeared more stable.

If we are talking 3d movies in side-by-side or half-SBS setup you only need an appropriate player where the nvidia 3d vision video player is often good enough as soon as you have configured the playback correctly (selecting the right input mode).

PowerDVD could probably handle a lot of files. I use it for my Blu-ray 3D and have not tried much else.

The nvidia movie player is not installed by default so you need to download it separately.

I know it's not the same but Sonic generation is fairly decent running at full resolution in 3D Vision with Helixmod.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?

Yes I still have the previous monitor and yes it had its own glasses and emitter. Shame that sbs doesn't work correctly in 3DV, Sonic Generations ran much better in its own method because the framerate didn't get halved (3DV drops to 30fps cuz the game is locked to 60).

Good to know I have options when it comes to movies though, thanks for making me aware of that :). I haven't been able to find a way to force Generations into 120hz mode though so I guess I'll lose out on that :(

SBS movies work just fine in 3D Vision, regardless which (3D Vision supported) monitor you use. If you have a proper 3D Vision setup (meaning a 3D Vision supported monitor/TV, an nVidia gpu which supports 3D Vision and 3D Vision glasses/kit), you can play SBS movies with a player that supports it (as mentioned above, you should try either the nVidia stereoscopic player or PowerDVD and just select the proper input mode). I personally prefer to use PowerDVD as it's easy to use and most of the time detects the 3D format automatically (for some reason the nVidia stereoscopic player doesn't have controls for scrolling the video while in full screen mode which is why I really don't use it much for playing 3D videos, but it has got a lot of settings you can tweak to get the most out of your 3D movies though).

I neglected to mention that I never required any special software before, I could do sbs in Windows Media Player just fine.
