Not an exhaustive list, but here are some of the discussions I was remembering. I include broken SLI as breaking Surround because one card would really make a poor experience. It's entirely possible that I overstate the case- I don't have Surround myself. I was mostly thinking of CM 3D breaking Surround, and requiring workarounds. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/730773/nvidia-surround/3d-surround-but-sli-not-working-/ https://esports.geforce.com/forums/topic/679547/3d-vision/official-334-67-driver-thread-for-new-3d-vision-game-support-feedback/12 https://esports.geforce.com/forums/topic/648687/geforce-drivers/-official-nvidia-331-93-beta-display-driver-feedback-thread-released-11-27-13-/6 https://esports.geforce.com/forums/topic/638975/3d-vision/windows-8-1-update-kills-sli-in-nvidia-3d-vision-surround-3d-/ And one from you, ;-) https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/631537/3d-vision/trouble-with-nvidia-3d-vision-surround-and-4th-accessory-monitor/post/4000062/#4000062

Yes:)) Now I get it;)) I thought something was completely busted... I would like to mention that (at least my post) was valid last time I checked for the GTX500 series. So far on the GTX 700 series everything is okish: No weird behavior, I still miss a resolution from NVPanel though (but have a weird one in its place). I don't have a 4th display though to see how that is working...:( Big big thanks for the clarification:D

I use windows 7(64). I'd recommend windows 8 if you can run it without issue, but from the open beta up thourgh early releases (december or january after it came out) on my desktop and from actual release up to about last August when I ditched it on my laptop, I ALWAYS had driver and program compatibility issues. I did like that it took fuller advantage of my SSDs though, so it's not perfect living without it either. Hopefully, a newer computer built from the ground up would not have as many problems, and the performance gains really are tangible. Especially when you're going for 3D, every frame counts.

If 8.0 was faster in 3D, I'd switch in a minute. But it's not. At least according to profiling done by TomsHardware. Do you disagree with this, or have other tests that show it's faster? http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/windows-8-gaming-performance,3331.html

Well, I think it's always more interesting to frame the question as to "should you upgrade?" Can someone, please clarify how is Surround disabled? I am running the latest drivers (on Win7x64) and 3D Surround works perfectly for me.... So I am wondering what are you guys referring to... @Bo3b: I had heard it was good for about 3-5 fps sometime over the weekend, but I can't remember where for the life of me. Your link to Tom's lays it out pretty well, so I'll take your word for it since I'm not about to go trudging through all my history to see. I'm not ready to do testing either, but out of curiosity, any chance that those numbers have changed since the article was written, with 8.1 hitting and all? I don't need it tested like it was there, just curious if it's possible the updates to the OS could increase efficiency to the levels I had heard of. Still, looking back, 3-5 fps seems pretty optimistic and not worth the trouble of dealing with win 8 in either case, so I change my recommendation to win 7 with no consideration for 8. Unless you're into Metro and spending more time dealing with drivers than actually doing anything....
