I am more interested in the white textures part...
Tests that I made:
- Removed the famous "KB 2670838 - The EVIL UPDATE" patch.
- Now I do NOT NEED to ALT+TAB.... Played like 4 hours straight (cutscenes, countless loads/quick travels in different maps). The fix DIDN'T BREAK ONCE! The game DIDN'T CRASH ONCE!
- Using default profiles + HelixMod Settings on 347.09 drivers.
Before with the patch I would get crashes, fixing disabling...but I could work on the official profile (I think because SLI works different in SURROUND !!!! ).

Yes that's what I meant. I have updated my post with the images showing the white textures. also one showing the options screen with the problems.

Hold on, I haven't been playing in surround but I do have a surround setup. Are you saying you are playing in surround all this time?
I will set mine up and see how it acts for me =)

Yupp:)) In 3D surround from day 1 + Laptop (single display + single GPU). BUUUT, even on the Single GPU/Display I saw the exact same problems with the (Windows Update) as I on my Surround Setup.
I did a quick test on the laptop without the Windows Upadate and I see the exact same behavior now (as on the Surround one). Flawless experience !
Why I say SLI+Surround != SLI + Single screen ?
I noticed on Lords of the Fallen for example that the game behaves on single GPU and SURROUND exactly the SAME !!! On SLI + single Screen (Maximize 3D Performance in NVAPEL) the game worked better with fewer broken effects !!! So, in case of Lords of the Fallen Single GPU == Surround in SLI mode != SLI in single Screen.
Based on that I believe the same thing might apply to DA:I (while I haven't tested it lately)... So this is just a speculation...
Nevertheless, removing the shiety KB update fixed stability in the game like RADICALLY !!! (In Surround and Single GPU)
BIG THANKS FOR THE KB REMOVAL FIND ;))
I'll ask Mike to update the HelixMod post with this info once we test it a bit more;))
PS: I've looked in the Screenshot and that is DEFINITELY NOT what I'm seeing;)) What I do see is some armor pieces (metal) sometimes render very white... like there is a problem/mistake in the lighting calculation in the shader... is way to....desaturated / washed out... I don't remember if I tested it without the wrapper though (made way to many tests in the last months to even remember all of them :))) But I guess is normal if I haven't flagged it up;))

CONFIRMED!!!!
It works perfectly in surround on the default profile in SLI! even zoned a couple of times with no crashes... what's going on here?
I won't take credit for the KB2670838 removal as Bo3b originally mentioned it would be the first place to look after losti reported an improved experience after a raw re-install. I just confirmed after testing on a new system build the theory, and isolated it as definitely the culprit. (All the other OS updates should be fine from my testing)
So we are getting to the bottom of this I think.
Is there any chance to resolve this with a single screen? I havent tried in surround to this point cause I like graphics and performance is a little bad.. =(
Just like to reaffirm and thank you guys for your efforts and continued patience with this.

White Texture problem:

So... This is what I meant originally by white textures (and thought you see the same, until you posted the screenshot)
White textures:

(I was right regarding the bad lighting/shader part)
Fixed/How it should look like:

Now, I've done this only in Skyhold, so it is possible that this manifests like this in other areas.... I will keep an eye out as I am playing the game again from zero ^_^ and will pass all the shaders to Mike.
==================================
Regarding the SLI/Surround thingy:
===================================
In Surround @ 5040x1050 I get around avg 35fps. It varies based on screen "load" from 25 to 45 frames per second (even higher). But I calculated the avg at 35 fps in a 3-4 hour session.
Thing is: you need more than 8gb of RAM as I see I hit the wall there and the pagefile gets massive (lucky I am on an SSD RAID-0 array so I don't see any performance impact when the pagefile increases).
Also textures are set on Ultra and not Fade-touched. One thing is on medium (I think vegetation stuff). Just use Geforce Experience to optimize the game and then REMOVE post process AA (if you want as it makes everything blurry). The rest you can leave as it is;))
Also I see now that GFE doesn't make a difference if installed !!!
Since we see this difference (between SLI/SURROUND and SLI/Single Screen) I can say one thing.... NVIDIA driver issue :( DEFINITELY !!!! (currently I have 2 games doing this...hmmm)

Yeah I left my system in surround setup on but fired the game up in 1920x1080 and the problem returned. So definitely a Nvidia driver problem. (or the game interacting with it.)
Is there any official avenue we can report and get some attention to this? (not holding my breath)
I just find it funny how its not an issue with the BF4 profile but then manifests in other problems in game.
I actually cant stand jaggies and generally prepared to put up with a fair amount of blurriness. Has anyone manage to force AA through the control panel or something?
I am pushing it hard though 5760x1080 max graphics
So weird that for once playing in surround actually fixes problems =P

Hehehe...Totally agree... You can leave PostProcess AA on if you like it as it doesn't break anything.. (MSAA is not supported yet though...as it breaks alot of shaders :( )
I like a crisp image over blurry one (even with jaggies) but it's personal preference I guess;))
I think you can use the regular link:
NVIDIA Driver Feedback
to describe the issue;))
I use that one and it seems I am not ignored completely;)) (All the reports were taken into account and fixed... sooner or later ^_^).

Ok cool, low post Process AA seems good enough for me in surround.
Maybe we need to all put in feedback about this. I definitely will shortly but I tend to be a bit verbose and maybe over complicated when trying to describe technical issues.
My conclusion along with the "evil update" the Battlefield 4 profile is not a good idea in general as well. SLI or not. I would say the KB update was causing the crashing and the Battlefield 4 profile was causing the other issues for me. (every profile I tried had this issue in SLI with this game, the few that did not had the BF4 issues)
But ultimately it seems to be Nvidia driver problem with 3D in SLI. These are new games, the KB update was relatively recent. Maybe they need to get up with the play?

I wasn't able to get SLI working at all had gone thru all the steps and tricks everyone tried and finally gave up and was just playing using one card.
After removing KB2670838 I can now play in SLI. everything seems to render correctly and I can actually travel without crashing. :D :D

Yes, please let us know if this is fixed or not. If it's not, please point me to a shader that is causing the problem. This could easily be a Decompiler issue that blanks out a given output.
(I saw this a long while back in AC3 where decompiler mistakes would white out the clothing on people in Boston. Then there was the hilarious purple pants for the Uruks. I almost felt bad to fix that one.)

I just want to throw a wrench in the works here and say that since I deleted the evil KB update, I can't get a game a load properly, can't fast travel on the map, pretty much everything causes a CTD (alt-tab, ctrl-T, alt-enter, fast travelling), and most of the time the game has broken shaders as well. I've done a driver re-install but to no avail. Sigh... Everything was working great for me as well lol. This is in SLI, so I will try non-SLI.
**EDIT
I switched to non-SLI and got it working again after making sure shader cache was always off (even using the batch file to delete the cache was not working for me). Then when I went back to SLI "it started working again". So who the heck knows. It has CTD a couple of time when changing graphic settings, but if I don't do that I was able to load a game, quick travel within Hinterlands and travel between Hinterlands and Haven (and back) with no crashes, though I had one issue with a shader on the UI not showing properly. So all in all not quite a disaster afterall...

Why I say SLI+Surround != SLI + Single screen ?

==================================
White Texture problem:
===================================
==================================
Regarding the SLI/Surround thingy:
===================================

After removing KB2670838 I can now play in SLI. everything seems to render correctly and I can actually travel without crashing. :D :D
I updated the fix on the blog to v8, which should fix this. Please let me know if it does or does not.
