TrackIR 4Pro and GeForce 3D vision compatibility? Does TrackIR 4Pro interfere with IR transmitter fr
Hi Andrew,
I have the TrackIR 4Pro and the 3D Vision kit. Before I hook the TrackIR I just wanted to make sure the signals don't interfere with one another. Do u think they can work together? Is there any comnpatibility issues?

Thanks for ur help

Hi Jeff,

I'm running the TrackIR 4Pro and it appears to work fine for me. So far I have only tested Race Driver Grid, but it looked aweseome inside the car.

There was previously a thread on it here: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=88946

Thinking about buying this...

Andrew or anyone....

How does this work with left 4 dead? is it too confusing to use the head tracking plus the mouse?

I play mainly MMO and FPS so I would love to see how this works for these games instead of car and airplane bum pits

I have not tried TrackIR on any FPS yet.

Andrew:
Thnx for ur support. Can't wait to complete all os and driver installations and get into the bumpit of a PMDG Boeing 747 in FSX with Geforce 3D and TrackIR...or shoot some crazy zombies in L4D...its gonna be freakin realistic and awsome.
Can u also add ur advice and comments on my question about vista 64bit or 32bit on my post here:

Appreciate it

I don't recommend using TrackIR with any FPS game. Some of my favourite games like COD4, COD W@W, FEAR etc are not fun playing with TrackIR and I've tried it. It's not realistic to aim ur gun by moving ur head...afterall if u play fast paced shooters online like COD then u'll have a hard time keeping up with ur enemies.
TrackIR is more fun if u play games in which u have a first-person perspective but without a gun or without aiming at anything...such as FSX. When I play FSX with TrackIR, it makes the game so realistic. Looking around in the bumpit, zooming in and out of gauges etc. It adds a new dimension. The only thing lacking was a quality 3D vision system which nVidia brought us. Thnx to nVidia...it's now As Real As It Gets.

May be I'm a little too late with my question...
I have following concernings about headtracking and 3DVision:
If You move Your head to look out of the side window of Your virtual car, aircraft, ect. You also turn Your head away from Your monitor - right?
But if You do that then You only can see what is on the monitor from the corner of one eye. Seems to me quite unconfortable and unnatural - and don't You loose any S3D effects as You can only see the monitor with one eye?! Doesn't get the polarized eyeglass lens dark when You don't look straight trough it?

Can't imagine how headtracking works with S3D. Could You describe Your experiences, please?

It works well. I have an issue with FSX and SLI and 3d vision, where I get flicker in the glasses but running on one card works a treat. With TrackIR, it's truly amazing - the only side effect is that runway lights, some animations like smoke stacks from buildings etc.. are 2d objects which means you kind of end up seeing double. I'm only really interested in VFR flying so I don't find it a big deal.

Also, in the TrackIR control panel, you can set the acceleration of the POV movement relative to your physical head movements - so you only turn your head a little and the POV moves a lot... it's entirely customizable.

Thank You for Your informations!
So a possible conclusion could be that headtracking combined with a static monitor can not exactly simulate the perceptions of looking around in a virtual environment but is an intuitive way to control the viewing direction and a more confortable one than using keystrokes - until You suffer from a stiff neck ;)

I've found that the TrackIR and 3D Vision work great together. I can still get the S3D effect when I move my head... I always adjust the TrackIR to my liking anyway and it works perfectly.
