So did the 3D have true dual rendering like we are used to like Metro 2033 or is it pseudo-3D like Crysis 2?
[/quote]
Good question, from earlier slides/interviews DICE indicated dual rendering and "explicit 3D stereo rendering" but an official confirmation would be great. The only way they could really fall short of excellence here is if they lock convergence or have a lot of 2D icons like unit markers....

Anyways here's link to 3D slides for BF3 from earlier this year: http://bf3blog.com/2011/03/battlefield-3-supports-3d/

Big change there is some ini file where you can turn on 3d again...

Yeah wouldn't exactly hurt if you elaborated a little bit on this point (sorry for the attitude, but I'm still very very upset over BF3 not supporting 3D at the moment)??

In your opinion i suppose. I'm not saying bf3 is a bad game i'm saying it aint all that. I have seen recent screenshots of the game mainly from multiplayer and single player campaign, some looked quite good some ok others looked not so good. The frostbite engine is not one of my favourites if i'm honest but yeah it can look good in all fairness but from what i have seen it can be rather mediocre. It has a very washed out look to it a lot of the times, glow worms in the mini map lol. I will get a copy for sure, i mean why not it has guns and it's a shooter game so it's not allways about the graphics. The sound is good i like that but i don 't think it looks as good as crysis or crysis 2, maybe some decent graphics mods would improve that, crysis 2 can look mediocre at times but the game has more of a decent color gamut than bf3, some screenshots of bf3 mp look to have a sort of blue hue/tint over it or is that weather effects in game?, bf3 can look over bright and even quite bland. Ok i know screenshots and vids don't allways do a game real justice so in all fairness i can give a better viewpoint when i try the game out on my pc. But as things stand right now and from what i have seen in screenshot from last night and today it looks mediocre, but as gamers know it's the gameplay that is most important. Battlefield 3 in name but bad company in design and looks and gameplay imho. But, shall see for myself later in the week or later on in the festive season?.

Still convinced it's mediacre ?

Hi

Allow me to explain.

Battlefield 3 is implementing 3D support natively inside its engine. So our driver does nothing to automatically convert the game in 3D.

What that means is we require the game engine to have 3D built in.

Unfortunately, DICE and EA are not providing this in the day 1 patch.

I would encourage you to express your concern with DICE/EA as well, since ultimately they are the ones doing the work to add 3D.

Stop trying to shift the responsibility for truth to someone else. The truth is that Nvidia advertises that a game will be fantastic in 3D when 3D doesn't even work. The fact that it does not work isn't Nvidia's fault, but telling people it is 3D Vision ready when it isn't sure as heck is.

Andrew - would you mind clearing up one issue I have that I can't find the answer to elsewhere please?

Will 3d vision in BF3 only work with DirectX11?

The official BF3 info talks about 3d under the banner of DX 11, and this is getting me worried as I run a gtx 295 which is obviously DX 10.

Many thanks if you can clarify this for me.

Indeed, it works but with some bugs:
Some shadows are at wrong depth, too much convergence and not enough depth.

In the Beta, there was the convergence setting.

Yes, in the solution i posted you can adjust depth and convergence using the Nvidia 3D Drivers, as you would normally do in any other game.
