samsung plasma compatability issues with 3d vision
hi to anyone who can help.
sorry if im posting in the wrong place but im new.
i have a samsung ps42b451b2w 42 inch plasma that im using as my pc monitor,
it says that its 3d ready and i was wondering if i could use this with the nvidia 3d vision glasses,
my pc is as follows intel pentium quad q8200 nvidia 9800gtx+ 512mbddr3 4gb ddr2 ram,
i obviously dont want to buy the glasses etc to find that they are incompatible,
my tv is connected via a dvi to hdmi cable and is connected to hdmi 3 on the tv
thanks again for any help
The TV is limiting your 3d experience but it will work.
That plasma has a resolution of 1024x768 which is the only resolution you can use for 3D. That means you won't be able to watch 3D blurays down the road, and gaming wise, you are stuck at 1024x768.
The fact that you will have to game at 1024x768 makes me believe that your computer may be good enough to run some of the newer games. But be warned, there are some severe green ghosting with this TV. You have to adjust it and change brightness, cell light...etc...to get a decent picture for gaming.
I bought one of these for 500 bucks 4 months ago and I had to return it...after using and seeing what 3D looks like on a Samsung DLP tv...this plasma was unacceptable.

Indeed, it is cheap, it looks amazing in 2d, but the 3d just leaves so much to be desired.

It has to be set to 1024x768 via DVI/HDMI I believe. Good luck, but prepare to be disappointed.
