Hi there,
i just changed parts on my PC and with a new SSD i installed Windows 10 technical prieview (build 10130) on my machine.
(I5 4690K
8GB DDR 3
GTX 970
Asus 3D Vision (dont know the correct number))
i tried Diablo 3, but the game won't start in 3D and Ctrl+T won't enable 3D either.
Does anyone knows issues and/or fixes with Windows 10?
Or should i wait until Windows 10 is finally released and there will be new Drivers from nvidia?
Sry for my english, its not my native language (and my browser want to "correct" typing)
Greatings

You shouldn't install Windows 10 for 3D (or even 2D) gaming yet.
Wait for others to beta test it for you, and iron out the kinks. Then, if people are no longer reporting issues, consider upgrading.
In my own testing, I have found 3D to work quite well under Windows 10. But that's only with it installed to a second hard drive, and purely for testing purposes. I would strongly recommend against it for a main OS right now. It's just too early.

thanks for your answer, but this won't help me, playing D3 in 3D.
This PC i meant isn't my main PC, i will test Windows and, so the rumors, getting a free Win10 license if its installed, when released.
What Game did you test in 3D?

It's not a rumour, anyone with a valid windows 7, 8 or 8.1 license gets a free upgrade to 10 for the first year 10 is out.

I tested multiple games. But the solution is to not use Windows 10. Go back to 7 or 8.
As for the free license, you only get this if you have a legal copy of 7, 8 or 8.1. If you've just installed 10 on a new system, you won't get a free license.

I think it's pretty obvious why they won't let you upgrade from a preview version to a retail product for free.

There was talk that pirates would get a free W10 upgrade. It later turned out that those rumours were false. Pirated copies will upgrade, but will still be considered pirated.

But it's yet to be verified if you're getting an actual key. MS was recently crowing about how you'd be able to reinstall 10 on your computer, any time you needed, without entering a serial number.
Does that mean it's generating a key based on your hardware combination? And you're SoL if you want to upgrade hardware and take the key with you? It's MS. So it's best to brace for the worst. I expect 10 to be riddled with fine print. I'm not invalidating my 7 serial any time soon.

In Germany (and almost everywhere in Europe) it isn't allowed binding software with Hardware. MS must find a solution, giving the users a key, or licensing otherwise.
What i meant, with the rumor was about, that MS will make a full Win 10 license out of a preview Version for every tester.
i heard about upgrading, that every win 7/8 version may upgrade to win 10, but invalid copys remain invalid copys.
But thats all offtopic.
@TsaebehT
thx, i will try it, maybe its just a Problem with Diablo 3 and not with Windows 10.

I know the temptation will be strong to upgrade to free/new/shiny Win10, but I'd bet money that it's not going to be a smooth ride for 3D users. I expect and predict the drivers from NVidia to have a lot of extra problems and glitches to work out.
Only upgrade if you like to tinker with the computer and your setup. For people who just want it to play smoothly, I don't see any way that's going to happen early on with Win10. Think it through as to which camp you are in.
For my Win7 installation, there is no chance in hell I'm upgrading from a stable system to something on the bleeding edge. I already can barely run GTA5, the drivers are feeble and break things at each release, and I don't want to spend my time debugging even more stuff.
To that end, I disabled the new Win10 nag in the tray, because I don't want and will not give up my Win7 key.
If you want to do the same, look for KB3035583 and uninstall it. When it show up again later, mark it to never be installed via Hide Update.

Definitely, but not until a game ships using it. There's no point in building stuff for a future that may never happen.
