D-man11 not sure what you are asking, since as i stated above by connecting to a USB hub the emitter works fine and connects after windows is booted instead of disconnecting like it did before.
If i was over limit on USB devices i would have same problem or worse after connecting the hub, since i only have the emitter connected to the hub which is in the same USB slot i had the emitter originally plugged into.
Not sure why it works unless the delay in booting up this seems to permit the Emitter to connect properly after windows is loaded.

Hmm, I figured the USB hub you were using is powered. Thus you eliminated the strain on the computers USB hub. The computers USB has a limited amount of bandwidth/power available. So if you had multiple keybpoards, mice, gamepads, external roms, external drives, etc.. connected, you could be overextending it's capabilities.

Thanks for the explination and the link, i will verify my USB's and see but i have not overloaded the USB on my PC, only 5 items connected of possible 12 slots based on mobo i have and two of those are self powered. BTW the Hub is powered, still not sure why the emitter works but it does, after pages of forum reading this one worked great for me.
Hopefully this thread will help guide others with sources of information to find the best solution for them.

I just registered here in the forum because I'm confronting the same problem I just received the 3dvision kit + VG248qe 3D ready monitor from Newegg, and the worked great the first time after restart the emitter went off I though it was a problem of my drivers and I installed a fresh copy of windows 7 and it worked fine like for 1 week and today I'm confronting the same issue I need to unplug and replug to get it working also I updated the monitor driver I instaled the 314 nvidia driver btw Ive got installed a 570GTX super clocked ed. I'm so angry with this issue, also I called Nvidia and spoke with Arun and he never heard about this issue and there was no help for me :( I'm so frustrated with this problem I don't know what else to do.

All, I also have this issue and have been searching for weeks for an answer. I have logged a bug and two support tickets. I can confirm the following in my case:
Windows 7 and 8 x64 do the exact same thing in terms of the emitter shutting down about 5 seconds upon booting into Windows.
I can also confirm that installing 310.90 drivers FIXES the issue. The DEVS know about this but we need more people to raise support tickets/bugs to get them on this. It's very annoying and should be fixed asap.

i am also getting this problem. and the emitter is plugged into the mobo directly.
and the button on the front of the emitter dosent work until i unplug/replug the device
yes the emitter is the nvidia oem black pyrimad
How do I delay the startup programs? because I was trying to do so and got an error and also downloaded the program that someone mentioned here and doesn't work.

Well i have some bad news also, since i beleived the use of a USB powered hub was working then yesterday it stopped and went back to the same issue of disconnecting immediatly after windows finishes loading. I have now put the emitter on my desk to easily access the usb and unplug/replug it every time i start windows.
This is quite frustrating, since if you forget to start it up you go to games and it is in either red/green mode for 3D and in #D discover move in the control panel, you need to shutdown game and re-start it once the emitter connects. I purchased SSD to speed up loading and accessing program now my latest toy (Nvidia 3D Emitter) does not cooperate.
I will open a support ticket on this also, not sur how Nvidia can state they are n ot aware of this when it is all over forums not just here. I have open the question with support and even gave them the link to this forun / thread. Let see

Hsave you checked to see if there is a mobo update for the X58? Doesn't that use a marvell controller for the USB 3.0 support, if so update it. The i7-960 uses the ich10 as I recall for the southbridge, is there an update for it or the CPU itself?

i have the latest drivers and bios for the mobo, the emitter was plugged into a USB2 not 3 and so is the USB hub i am presently using. Sorry i have not heard of an update for the CPU. Unless every one above is using the same mobo and CPU i do not beleive that would be the cause to the emitter disconnecting.

Update:
i have been contacted by support, they have told me they cannot reproduce the issue and are asking me to do a clean install of driver 310.90 with the typical troubleshooting ( which has been done prior to openning this thread, unplug usb, place in USB at back of PC, do not use hub ect.)
Can anyone tell me if they have tried the 310.90 driver and if it resolved the issue? or are they experiencing same with other drivers besides the 314,22 driver

Well I have followed their request to install 310.90 driver did the basic troubleshooting and still have the same problem. This is discouraging to say the least, the only good thing is that I know I am not alone having this problem, the more people list the more chances we have of them working to find a solution.

Hello Gladjag,
I've got the same problem and went down pretty much the same road with Nvidia support, ie trying different usb ports, connecting-disconnecting, driver cleansweep and 310.90 drivers with no luck.
One curious thing that I did find by accident is that if I unplug the emitter and then replug it into the same usb port just prior to turning on the computer the emiiter flashes red during boot but when the computer finishes booting up the emiiter is green and all is as it should be. Maybe you could try this to see if we have some commonality in our problem as well as proving that it is possible to boot to a working emitter.

Hi GreyMatter,
I will certainly try it out, i have nothing to loose. belowe is message i received today from
Nvidia support:
"Your case is being escalated to our Level 2 Technical Support group for further attention. The Level 2 agents will review the case notes to troubleshoot the issue and find a solution or workaround. As this process may take some time and require a good deal of testing and research, we ask that you be patient. A Level 2 tech will contact you as soon they can to assist or point you in the right direction."

I can't remember the Driver version when it started. It happens on both of my Machines. Very frustrating but my emitter was always on the desk for easy access. It actually happens with both of my emitters also.
