For state of the art 3D TV gaming, I suggest getting LG (passive) UHD TV. Low ghosting - and the various HDMI 2.0 models support interleaved 3840x2160 display (3840x1080 each eye) at 60 fps. My LG is my 5th 3D TV (started using 3D with a passive 3D monitor), so I have been able to compare 3D performance for various active and passive displays from different manufacturers.
EDID mod - see https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/818183/3d-vision/gtx-970-4k-3d-vision-gaming-success-with-lgub850v-passive-tv-/post/4510149/#4510149. Thread also links to EDID for passive HDTVs and important 3DVisionEye Swapper application.
Passive TV EDID mods enable use of Optimized for NVIDIA GeForce for 3D display, rather than 3DTV Play. 3DTV Play has a number of uses, discussed at https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/809649/3d-vision/please-add-hdmi-2-0-support-to-3dtv-play-/post/4474215/#4474215.
