Windows x64
Phenom II x4 @ 3.6
560Ti OC edition
samsung 22" 3d monitor
So the other day I booted up as normal, tried to play a game in 3d and found that the emitter wouldnt light up yet the control panel had 3d down as enabled and activated etc. Reinstalled the usb controller in the 270 folder and all was well.
Today i boot up and find after logging in i get a magicbrite screen as if 3d is on. 'fine' i thought and ran the 3d test app to get rid of it then loaded up BC2. As soon as i enabled 3d the framerate tanked - figured it was just the map it was on so i ditched it and played in 2d. Remembering that i found 3d was faster with my 560ti upgrade than 2d was with my 260 i quit the game and ran the 3d test - all the floaty bits were choppy and not smooth at all! it was as if the gpu was doing everything 4 times over.
Did a reinstall of the drivers - no change
did a CLEAN reinstall of the drivers - no change
did a full uninstall of the drivers, booted to safe mode and Driver Cleaned - no change!
I then noticed anything that triggered UAC would cause magicbrite to hit upon confirming the choice as if i was loading a fullscreen 3d app. Selecting any of the 3 'when monitor is in 3d' choices netted me the same result. Indeed setting it to full screen only would snap magicbrite straight back on :(
End result? i did a reinstall of the last 267 betas - no clean uninstall or purge of the 270s - back to normal desktop and 3d test is nice n fluid..
I can't understand why it would suddenly change like this as no new software was installed today bar the reinstall of the usb hub. Prior to that? again nothing was installed that would at boot time and i checked task manager for anyhthing odd loading that would trigger 3d to kick in.
Hopefully all will be well with the WHQL's but i just can't understand why this suddenly happened, i had been running these since the beta was released with zero issue too /wallbash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wallbash:' />
