When I try to play Metro:LL in 3DTV play I get an error. Apparently the game always runs at the highest refresh rate possible for a given resolution. Unfortunately that means 120hz at 720p on my BenQ W1070. Since 3DTV play wont support 120 I am out of luck. Nowhere in the game's config file to specify refresh. anyone know of a way to block the nvidia driver from exposing the 120hz option to the game?
Any help greatly appreciated...

Not sure if it'll work or not but have you tried Chiri's Res Tool?:

Might want to use the convergence unlocker here also:

Edit: fixed ... was skimming the comments and mistakenly thought the anon post about using it with the release dll applied. :)
Thanks for the feedback, guys! I tried Chiri's res tool and in Metro LL and it works!! But it is forcing me to a 4:3 aspect ratio and then stretching it. I'm so close! What a great tool.

Cant change it in settings? I think it just gets the game to "launch" at a certain setting. If not.... try this
Start game without the d3dx.dll installed[delete it or move]
Make sure game its at 720P.
Open d3dx.ini
[Logging]
;calls=1
[Device]
width=1280
height=720
refresh_rate=60
full_screen=1
;force_stereo=1
move the file back.
This is kind of one of things I understand but Im not a tv play user so I am not really 100% on anything. Like I might be able to figure out, but I cant actually try anything. Not too many people know of this tool though every TV play user should know of it. So yeah..... It may be something silly, like I dont know why resolution was changing. Could try to comment everything but refresh_rate if that doesnt work since thats all you want to change. Only thing I can advice is to play with it and spend a few minutes and may get lucky. Success rate with it is pretty high.

Was it a steam version of the game you got it to work in? I've copied the files over and it does nothing for me.
<edit>
ah got it... stupidly forgot to remove the semicolons preceding the resolution lines in the .ini file.
