Acer 1230PK 3D Ready, any news? NVIDIA 3d view compatibility?
Dear 3D experts,

I need your help as I am stunned about the lack of informations @ acer site about their projectors.

Browsing around I found an interesting pj piece that is the ACER 1230PK 3D ready wich is possible to be found on the main resellers on the net, one big issue, NO COMPATIBILITY informations available, really no where!

I found something that is written in polish that states it should work but as it's not the NVIDIA 3D VIEW cert list or the ACER one I am really unsure about the choice to be picked.

Do you have more info about it? Here are some tech specs, my computer is ok for running 3d besided the pj:

Are you sure you actually want to go with that projector? It seems vastly inferior to some of the newer projectors out. For exaple the Optoma HD66 has a lumens output of 2800, 500 more than the 1230PK. The HD66 also has better resolution and double to contrast of the 1230PK.

There are some very good, new, cheap 1280x720 projectors that are significantly brighter than that one you mentioned such as the Acer H5360. Brightness is very important for 3D vision as the glasses dim the image alot.

There is also the optoma HD66 which is another 720P projector that is also very cheap and is just a good projector as it is. Its not yet listed in nvidias official supported list, but it is supported to a point.

Thanks mourt,

only issue with OPTOMA is that there's very short availability in Italy, probably some dealers do import it but it will charged with custom fees (aprox 19%) so it will be the same price of the ACER H5360 3D , guessing around 550-600 euros wich is 800$.

I would like to stay in the 500 € target so that 1230PK seems ok for the price, but any other suggestion will be welcome /shifty.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':shifty:' />

I can assure you the extra 50-100 euro will go a long way and you will thank yourself for making the investment.

That projector your looking at is designed for business use. Its not designed for use with games/movies and will definitely not look as good as a true home cinema projector.
