List of staple features missing from driver set
Thought i'd make a place for people to put down things they think are mind bogglingly obvious features which should be in the current drivers. The Nvidia driver team may be lazy jerks who spend most of their time alt-tabbed away from their work, or might be led by some goof ball who really doesn't care about end users and would rather be tending his collection of 80's porno, or are working productively and thus serving their community. Im sure we'll never find out, so in case it matters, heres some stuff that our hardware is capable of and that Walmart and Ikea don't stock.

1. Side-by-Side support (or top/bottom for passive displays if its as commonly supported)

2. Visual and numerical indicator for convergence.

3. 1080p30, since 1080p60 in 2d is possible, why not?

4. An increase in depth for larger monitors

5. Microsecond shutter adjustment

6. .PNS screenshot option and where to save to

7. reduced gun model size for when sitting close to immersive, large displays. Or something so it doesn't look half as large as tank.

What else?

Left, Right, Center offsets for correct Left/right eye aiming in games without dynamic crosshairs, similar to what IZ3d has had for years. It's been discussed to death a few times here. They could even make hotkeys for it, to switch to whatever offset you need during gaming. Nvidia DO IT!

-Full user access via an "Advanced Settings" page on the control panel to all tweakable settings (frontplane/backplane/timings/screen size etc).

-Ability to have multiple profiles per game so that, for example, you might have one set of convergence and depth settings when in the cockpit in a flight sim and another when in a chase plane view. It should also be possible to assign hotkeys to switch between these profiles (or cycle through them) with an option to have the hotkeys either trapped or passed through to the game so you could assign the same key combo to activating the cockpit profile as the game uses to switch to that view and, similarly, you'd assign the same key combo to the chase plane profile as the game uses for that view. Then when you switched views in the game the appropriate profile would also be activated (instead of having to manually adjust convergence etc every time you change view as you do currently).

-A quality slider in the control panel for screenshots.

-Ability to reassign hotkeys in the control panel for all those functions which can currently only be changed by editing the registry e.g. the key combo to take a 3D screenshot.

-An update to the 3D test app which hasn't changed for the best part of a decade.

-Replace the 3D screenshots in the initial slide show which have anomalies in 3D (i.e. those from Burnout Paradise and Guitar Hero) with shots from games that work much better in 3D (like Just Cause 2, Mafia 2 and Trine). How about organizing a competition where users could submit screenshots for inclusion and then have a prize draw for an extra set of glasses or something amongst those who submitted screeshots which were selected?

Cheers,
DD

Bumping this thread for great justice.

And the ability to make your own laser sights would be nice too. I like the one that's the old Nvidia forceware logo, reminds me of the year 1999.
