Hi quick question here im currently using a iz3d monitor for my 3d gaming but currently am a little disapointed with the ghosting and pop out 3d effects i seem to get with this monitor/glasses, i orginialy started 3d gaming using edimentional 3d glasses witch had good 3d for the time (great pop out) but unfortually due to driver/gfx card issues i needed a new 3d solution.
Im currently trying to find out from anyone if 3d vision is worth the inverstment over the iz3d - opinions welcome especially from people who have used both 3d setups.

Well, my opinion may not be all that much but at least it should help get this started.
From what I have read when used with a DLP tv the ghosting its pretty much completely gone.
It also seems the Viewsonic has less ghosting than the Samsung monitor for 3D Vision.
I do have some ghosting specially at the very top which is a known issue with the Samsung but it rarely bothers me and I am more than likely getting a big screen because this thing deserves it! :-)

Is the ghosting worse on the top of the monitor, or is it just that they sky is what is creating all the ghosting. It has been demonstrated that mechanically, this display produces more ghosting at the bottom, not the top. I dont think ghosting could be a driver issue. I have the samsung display and ghosting is not worse on the top. It is actually worse on the bottom and there is a test slide you can use to check this. The slide was posted a while back. I just think bright skies against any object will ghost, so I still dont believe anyone when they say the top is ghosting. How could I not have this problem and other people do? That woudl be a massive production quality issue.
For me, the ghosting is slightly improved over a CRT display shuttering. The glasses are better than ones I have used like H3d and elsa glasses. The resolution is easily better than any crt I have used, even crts that handled 2048 resolution were worse due to the blurry quality at that resolution for a crt. I saw a display similar to the zalman at the computer store where it was a lenticular lcd type, and it was horrible. There was massive color shifting between the two eyes, but that could have all been that display being set up wrong.
Also, DLP 3d displays get blamed for color rainbow effects in 3d, but probably no ghosting.

I am used to DLPs so I know how not to look for the Rainbows. As for ghosting, it does not bother me coming from the old CRT which was almost triple image...again you learn to ignore it.
I do not think it is just the sky theory. The fact that yours does not show that does not mean it is not happening...do not center the world around you. j/k
Really, it would not be the first time something like this happens so I would not be surprised.
In any case since i have not paid too much attention to it I will look for that slide to verify it.

Here is the slide. We did this before. Werner Bloos, who I think made this slide, may have more info on what exact ghosting issues this display has. I don't know if it comes down to the display or peoples impression. Meaning I dont know, not saying I am right. I mean I still cannot tell because I havent seen someone confirm using a test that sort of removes peoples opinion. Like when someone says, I see ghosting, that doesnt help. This test can test EXACTLY how much ghosting your display produces. It removes the opinion part. Its science people. I am not saying it isnt happening, I am saying test it and compare to other people, then we will know for sure. If your numbers are horrible, then you should be able to return the display as it would be defective.
Here is the link to the test slide. Its a grey ramp type test. You can test white and black ghosting on the left and right eye.

I feel you didn't get answers to your questions. I too would like to know how those 3 technologies compare. How's the pop out on the 3D Vision? Is it better than when looking at 'crossed eyes' pictures? I hope so, because there's not much pop out at all with those... (in fact, I don't see any; only depth)
