You installed driver v425.31 and disabled GFE+Windows auto update policy correct?
I believe the PG278QR requires an EDID override as well. I could be wrong there though...

Did you try DDU? If it shows up as a 3D Vision compatible device, all should be good. So are you saying it is not completing the setup wizard? Or are you having trouble with a particular game.
Whenever the checkbox for 3D is ticked in the control panel, you should get a prompt telling you that G-Sync will be disabled. Are you seeing this prompt? Have you tried setting your desktop to 1440@120Hz prior to running the wizard?
I do not have W10, but I know there is a bat to bypass the wizard, if you can not pass it. Perhaps it might due the trick.

Thanks for reply
I have not tried ddu I was hoping that this monitor would work straight out of the box
and not have to fiddle around to much I am not getting the setup wizard so not sure what is happening
as it works fine on my tv in checkerboard and 3d play I am wondering if I am using the right input
there is the larger oblong dvi input as was on my prvevious monitor should I be using this ?
also I do get the prompt that disables the gsync.
Thanks for your help Mark.

I think the driver is acting up, your last install must have been corrupted.
DDU = Display Driver Uninstaller
Or you need to use the bat to bypass the wizard. 3D Fix Manager has the option to bypass it or you can find the standalone version by TsaebehT here in the forums

Awesome, enjoy the new monitor.
You are going to love the step up in resolution, the clarity is amazing at 1440P. (assuming you were using checkerboard at 1080P)

Have you tried DDU?
I would imagine that your glasses are charged.
