I can't believe I am saying this after the last few Lego games, but, in Lego Ninjago, 3D is actually working right out of the gate!
While there are issues, none of them is the black screen problem that Lego Force Unleashed and Lego Jurassic Park suffered from. I know DHR usually looks at the Lego games and this one (I am a little less than an hour into it) seems to be one of the best - both from a gameplay standpoint and the world design. So far, the environments are alive with a level of detail and density that prior Lego games have not offered (I've played them all.)
I'm already sold enough to go see the movie with my son, and I had no intention of doing so before playing the game (nor did I have any history with the Ninjago "franchise.")

Hey DHR,
Bearing in mind that I am not the best judge of this kind of stuff... there is some flickering of buildings in the distance, convergence issues at high depth in cut scenes, but shadows, lights and reflections all seem to be OK so far.
I'll try taking some 3D screens (haven't done it before) and post them.

Yep...seems all the effects are working OK in 3D, except HUD....like the old LEGO games.
The convergence is locked?
(when old LEGO games works out of the box, the convergence was always locked)
Yesterday night i take a quick look...and the game still have some issues, reflections are off and the HUD (like always). Also the locked convergence is extreme!..i think is a litte higher than the previous games were 3D work out of the box.
I will probably fix the game and unlock convergence....and now we have the scene detection (using textures). i can implement that for cinematics that normally need a lower convergence.

Thanks DHR. I actually liked the convergence level in-game - more or less where I would have set it manually, though obviously too much in cut scenes and in some of the flying sequences.

Just try the game....my kid want to play it.
The engine was modified a little....but for good :)) now is easier to fix the know patterns. Also now shadows are improved...some kind of soft shadows...also they add a better Screen Space Reflections effect and AO. Maybe that's the reason SSR is broken in the vanilla game (not modified/fixed).
I fix all the effects: Soft Shadows, Lights, SSR, AO.
and the convergence is UNLOCKED and SBS/TaB supported.
Also this game have more details than any other LEGO game, looks very impressive!....in fact my GPU is in the limit to maintain goods fps.

I will try to release soon....i also add dynamics crosshair (aiming reticle) and dynamics target icons (markers). In general HUD in LEGO games are a pain in the ass....i'm trying to make more stuff dynamics, but sometimes broke others stuff....so i will have to balance stuff.
