This game looks very nice in 3Dvision.
But the game's optimisation is pretty bad so the eye-sync issue is pretty huge (compare to Soma for example) and make the game unplayable (with ssao on low, AA off) although I have a gtx 970 OC... There is no reason why with a static game like that...
So noob question, a fix with Dx render mode instead of opengl render mode would be great if possible, wouldn't it?

You can toggle the alternative rendering mode from the ini file and see if that improves things;) (Like said in the Readme file).
I have no plan on making a DirectX patch for the game. My main and only interest is OpenGL;)
But is very interesting what you say since I played half the game on my GTX880M which is the equivalent of a GTX960 Desktop GPU and the eye sync wasn't that bad if the fps was at 60. Yes, it has some zones where it stutters like hell (mostly in the beginning of the game) but once I passed that I had almost no issues.
Agree the engine is not as optimized as SOMA is which is a shame:(

Game has some nice creepy moments though they need to fix it further (I mean they have to optimize it).
FYI I use "ForceFullScreen = true" and no problems at all (game lacks of SLI support yet no issues with ForceFullScreen = true so ever).
Also I find it a bit..too dark/ too washed out ,maybe it just needs more contrast.(game, not monitor..)

Yes SLI support is not that great although it worked perfectly fine for me;) as I was playing it in Surround.
Agree with the washed out part though;) that is the gamma correction they are doing;) Funny enough, I was able to completely remove it;) (As seen in the screenshots on the main page). It was technically a bug in my wrapper but provided some cool and interesting results :))

I am wondering:
- Did anyone played the game with the 3D Vision Fix? If you did, post here. I am interested in any feedback you have;)
If you haven't at least try it out;) This is one of those "rare gems" that aren't mediatized as much as "Fallout 4" or "Assassins's Creed", but it provides A MUCH more personal and interesting story! ;)

I'm definitely picking this one up, so I'm really pleased to see a fix. But I prefer to wait for early access titles to be completed, and I have a giant backlog. So realistically, I'll probably not play it until the middle of next year, maybe longer if it takes a while to come out of early access.

helifax - thanks for the superb fix - it looks great! Like raoulk, I encountered some performance issues while playing Layers of Fear that SOMA did not have, however. When I attempted to change in-game resolution to something lower than my 2160p Desktop, as part of my testing - the game screen went entirely black - with LG 4K EDID mod override installed. Even worse, I could not access the game screen again to change resolution, even after quitting/restarting game. I had to remove the force opengl launch command temporarily in order to revert back to original 2160p display setting. This has been the most significant issue I have encountered with use of the EDID mod, so far.
I am currently playing Legacy of the Void (via Ignition - 3D looks great, with CPU-based indirect shadows and reflections disabled). I plan to return to Layers of Fear, allowing the developers more time for improvement and optimization.

Big thx for the input;) Yes the OpenGL renderer is not the most optimized one;) It has a couple of "lag spots".
I also encountered the black screen issue, but for me it was related to MSI Afterburner OSD showing on the screen. The moment I Hid it (using the shortcut keyboard key) I was able to see the main menu again;) I think the overlay Hooks on the same spot as I do and is a race condition there;) It hooks after me and breaks my hook;)
Aye, I also look for the full release of the game;) Can't wait to finish the story as it hooked me up so far;))

Glad you like it so far;) I also was/am pretty hooked about the game. That's why I decided to make a fix for it (and to test the Unity5 OpenGL renderer of course ^_^).

UPDATE: 16/02/2016
===================
- Game WENT LIVE today. From Early Access to Fully Released.
- The current FIX IS STILL WORKING FLAWLESS from what I saw!
- STORY is now COMPLETE! So give it a try;)
My FIX still used OPENGL! (As this was an experiment and I wanted to see how much I can get out with my wrapper!... Seems pretty much^_^)
Some EYE-SYNC issues will appear when the FPS is below 60FPS!!! So bear this in mind!
I will not make a DX version of the FIX! But if somebody else WANTS to fix the game in DX mode LET ME KNOW! I can tell you how you need to correct the shaders and so on;)
In the meantime;) Give it a go with my fix;)
Cheers!

With the addition of more rooms and more game optimization, I thought I would try this game again, after this full release. Unfortunately, I cannot get 3D Vision to activate now (Windows 10, GTX980 Ti, 4K EDID mod).
Update: The mod works great (forgot to remove changes from prior testing, so I had activation problem)- the game optimization appears to be improved. Thanks for the great mod, helifax!
