That's how I started experimenting with 3d...
I didn't use drivers tho...,I just made some screenshots (shifted) ...converted it to 3d and used paper glasses.
That was the way,I found out how good a game could be in 3d !
First game I tried was FarCry 2,and the bridges in the game looked amazing !
For example when I looked underneath a bridge without 3d, I didn't get the "feeling" of realy looking under it..,but with 3d it felt like I was really THERE.. looking under the bridge..!
That made me so excited..,that I bought 3dvision short after that...!

Very nice video for the beginner. Obviously some of the folks in your comment section don't get that a) you are very sharp, and b) that you are speaking slow so as to be CLEAR and CONCISE.

why are the glasses red/blue? I mean, why not yellow/green? Or black/white? Or feusha... uh, fa euuush... I don't know how to spell it.
I'm not that bright.
But seriously, why did "whoever" settle on red/blue?
I'm guessing a little but: The human eye is sensitive for 3 colors and therefore displays emitts these colors: red+green+blue.
For 3d-viewing when using colorfiltering red/cyan makes sense because the eye is more sensitive for red and green than the blue color. It's also a tad easier to make colorfilters where the filtered colors are "next to each other" in wavelengths. Like red and green or green and blue.
Colorcode for instance uses blue for one eye and red+green (amber) for the other. Since the human eye is not so sensitive for blue, the amber filter needs to be made very dark to maintain balance in lightintensity. This makes colorcode a pretty dark experience. This basically only leave a very few "best" colorcombination left: Either red+green or red+cyan(cyan=green+blue).
In my opinion the different number of anaglyph options we see today are nothing else than bad hypes. Colorcode (amber/blue) looks different than anaglyph but is it really better? Trioviz (green/magenta) is another... The last statement is only what i think and i know that opinions about anaglyphing methods varies widely. If i have to live with colorfiltering my personal "best" choice is the Eric Dubois anaglyph algorithm (yes, optimizations in the colorfiltering formulas can make bigger difference than the method itself).
Those who initially chose red/green or red/cyan for anaglyph probably made the best choice out of the experience given.
Cheers!

Since I cannot justify at this time the cost of 3D Vision nor do I have a graphics subsystem that would adequately support it at High Resolution with maxed out settings.

Thanks guys for the support. On some other forums people kind of hit me hard for my slow, monotone delivery but I was just trying to be as clear as possible (especially for an international crowd where English was not their first language). Hell, I even included closed-captioning for the deaf.
Yeah, I recommend anyone that is thinking about getting the 3D Vision kit but can't really afford it to try my free anaglyph glasses. Of course they are not even half the quality of the full 3D Vision setup, but they should give you enough of an idea to know whether you want to spend more money on a real setup. You can also use the Nvidia 3D Vision Discover mode with these paper glasses, so you can gain some experience with the Nvidia 3D driver and how it works.
Red/cyan happens to be the best combination for use with 3D. See, with almost all displays for the past 50 years, we have 3 color channels. Red, green and blue. However we only have 2 eyes. So we need to combine 2 of those channels into one. So the choices are:
Red / (Green + Blue) = Red / Cyan
(Red + Green) / Blue = Yellow / Blue
Green / (Red + Blue) = Green / Magenta
All of these will work, but personally I find Red/Cyan to be the best overall and thats why it became the standard. Some proprietary formats exist (ColorCode, TriOviz, etc.) which claim they solve all the problems with anaglyph, but they are still basically one of the above configurations with minor tweaks. With the properly optimized content, these alternate formats may look better but Red/Cyan still has a wider general compatibility.

Well some people just have a vendetta against 3d for whatever unknown reason (as can be seen in the comments on popular sites like Gizbozo). You could show them a friggin' holodeck, they will find a way to complain. So I wasn't expecting those types of people to convert over-night or even bother watching my video. But there are probably a lot of people that are on the fence, or maybe just don't know enough about 3D to make a decision. So hopefully some of them will be interested enough to get the glasses. I haven't got a huge response, but I am sending out a couple of glasses every day, so there is some interest. And as long as a few of these people wake up to 3D, then I feel I am making progress.

Well, I bought some glasses online and had them delivered, and I tried this out and I have to say I am completely blown away.
If I had bought 3D vision, and gotten the kind of results im getting, I would have been happy!
In Batman AA it is just breathtaking, as well as Bioshock 2 and Wings Of Prey etc.
It is not without its faults, but I am still a newbie and I will be looking much deeper into the whole thing from now on.
So mission success cyber reality, you have succeded in "opening my eyes" to 3D.
I think people have the Vendetta you mentioned, as in all things people hate for an "unknown reason" because of a total lack of understanding, and therefore fear sets in and they start making irrational claims, and doing irrational things like saying your speaking like a retard in your video, and completely overlook the content you are trying to expose them to.
It is the last refuge of the ignorant to do such things.

Great man, I'm glad someone appreciates it. It actually wasn't that much trouble after I figured out how it worked. Previously you needed to use some special program to compile the closed-captioning (with time stamps at every line in a special format). But they have a new beta feature which allows you to upload a standard .txt file with all the text included. Since I scripted the whole video, I already had this text file. So it only took about 5 minutes of effort, but I guess its always that last 10% of effort that counts the most. I also went back and added them to the parallax barrier video now that I saw how easy it was. Not sure if it works for YT3D, I will have to try that next.
Cheers!

I haven't got a huge response, but I am sending out a couple of glasses every day, so there is some interest. And as long as a few of these people wake up to 3D, then I feel I am making progress.
What a bloke! I am sorry you seemed to be getting flack for being considerate. I guess you cant please all people all the time.
Well some people just have a vendetta against 3d for whatever unknown reason (as can be seen in the comments on popular sites like Gizbozo). I didn't know youtube had a closed-captioning feature until now but it's definitely the best way of making yourself understood!
Cheers!

I'm one of the almost deaf people and it's amazing that someone actually made an extra effort of delivering to hearing impaired as well. I just can't do anything more than thumbs up!
