For me its unplayable with the Community fix: When i look around (especially in Sowjet and the other big Level), i have stuttering all the time, even when i walk around...Clearly a CPU/Driver Issue after my testing:
With the original 3D Mode SBS ( also with 3D unchecked in NVCP) i dont have these Issue, and the workload of my CPU is way higher as with the C.Fix?! Same settings ( i know SBS divide the horizontal Pixels nearly by half) and therefore i play in SBS with 2880x1440 and have even more frames as with the CP with same or even lower Settings. Also tested the Comm. Fix with lower resolution and medium/low Settings, same thing, stuttering all the time....
i know, there are so many unfixed things in the official one, and i would like to do my second
Playthrough with the awesome CF, but at the moment for me the official one is the better choice in
terms of playability.

.. Clean installed the same drivers i currently have 365.10
did not delete the tomb profile, just imported the profile provided with inspector.
Got the game running but it did not look spot on so i thought somethings not right.
I used the geforce profile export/import tool and manually changed the code.
Game kicked in and loaded pretty fast. hit the compatibility key and VOILA. Looks Awsome.
man you guys are wizards !
Is my framerate how expected (980ti) ? ...first scene at the mountains about 30ish ? did not check with software
but you can tell it ain´t pretty high. AA off and purehair.
any advice to bump it up, or is the first scene just so heavy ?
....hmm... upped my gpu a little bit and it´s above 40 and and after the start between 40-60.. closer to 60 so it´s propably about right.

First of all your GPU cannot HANDLE that BIG resolution at acceptable resolutions. IT LACKS the power sadly:(
Secondly, the fix REQUIRES an older version of the game!
-> Try to remove the FIX but run the same BUILD of the game;) I bet your stuttering will still be there.
As for the SOVIET Installation MAP, it is KNOWN to have huge stuttering on some hardware even in 2D and it NEVER GOT fixed;)
Our fix JUST fixes the Stereo 3D rendering NOT THE GAME ISSUES;) It SUCKS that we are stuck with an older version of the game, but I can't do another 200+ hours RUN just to find all the shaders and fix them on the latest version! Hope you can understand that;) It was A PAIN initially to make it work and after 200+ hours I stopped counting time...
My best recommendation is to LOWER setting down until you get better results (or to get better hardware sadly...) Interesting fact: I have played the game 0 to 100% on my laptop with a GTX 880M and while the framerate was LOW in some places I never encountered stuttering... (By low I mean dips below 30 FPS in 3D Vision)
Bottom line:
- The game is VERY Demanding in resources in 2D Alone... in 3D it has to do DOUBLE THE EFFORT! so...
(Besides The Witcher 3, this game is the next one in line for demanding GPU horse-power ^_^)
(All the bold is to highlight/emphasise the facts and is not yelling/shouting or anything remotely to that)

Yup, ok,i dont think about the early version thats necessary for the CF, possible that these issues i mentionend has fixed in later Patches, i cant bench because the official 3D Support came one/two patches later, dont know, its too long ago for Details in my Head. Played the Release Version in 2D for half an Hour, and later to bench, and in 2D CPU Workload was great from the beginning, so i wonder (over 50/60% Load Core 1 to 8)and absolutely no stuttering visible. Im shure tested the official one after Release and i downgraded two times to play with the CF .Beside i have this issue in many other games, as i speak for GTAV (everyone know) so imo is it a Driver related problem...
I and certainly many other members have followed every word in this Thread, eager to have the first downloadable alpha 3D Fix (shame on devs) from you...A Day to remember, you have after weeks/Months of work finished the Fix (way better as the official yet), and one or two days later Devs patches an off. 3D Support in...Man,this was the Theme this year in my little 3D Community, exciter of the year! I shared the Thrill since Release and i wouldnt (and have not longer) played since your fix came out...
Appreciate your work every minute, i know hows the going with Family and Job and a hobby like ours, so can understand even better your sacrifice and devotion. Without you and the other Guys the 3D Vision Scene are condemned..

In my case the nvidia inspector profile import was not enough and 3d was broken as well. you need to go with option 2 to make this work (full profile import with Geforce 3d profile manager tool) :

I just got the game in the Steam sale, how's the current state of the official 3d support compared to the community patch, is the official patch that broken? Not too eager to mess with versions and profiles i'm just terrible with all that, but if it's really broken I'll try to make it work.

Don`t even go that path. The official support have very annoying elements which never been fixed. Even performance isn't that good to sacrifice quality of 3D. We didn`t see any patch for a long time and I`ve checked last week to make sure and everything was the same - bad performance and broken elements.
Definitely use community fix with previous beta version - way better option.

I think this game might have the best SLI scaling I have ever seen in a game. 99% load on both cards it's a good thing too otherwise at 1440p with the works on in 3D it would be kinda painful.
This might be the best looking 3d vision title yet. (with comminity fix.) Thanks again to all the work everyone did to make it possible. As for the developer, well at least they tried....

necropants would you mind sharing some info regarding drivers and sli bits you're using to get this great scaling....from http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/gpu_displays/msi_gtx1080_gaming_x_sli_review/11, it seems that scaling is very poor, even negative, on single screen at low resolutions. the scaling seems to be effective only in demanding resolution (1440p or 4K), probably if you're playing in surround too.
My personal experience on 720p in 3d vision @ high settings on single screen is terrible : 50fps on avg on 1 gtx 970, 40 fps with 2. I tried several game and driver versions, official and community fix and all give me the same results. 50fps is playable but it stutters from time to time. I don't think i'm cpu bound because usage is not optimal on all cores (6 cores i7-970 oc @4ghz). My personal experience is I find last game versions (so cannot use community fix) slightly better optimized in terms of performance on a single card. less stuttering for me. But i'm still waiting before really playing this, hoping further patches/drivers updates may improve scaling.

I tried both the official and unofficial fix, but not played much. I'm currently in Syria looking at the big temple near the broken bridge, all settings at max except aa (off) and DOF (on). The performance difference is minimal (fps looks similar), actually unofficial fix feels smoother. I'm using the latest offical driver (not the beta one) with a GTX 980, 16 GB RAM, corei7 2700k.
Pure hair option only makes 3-5 fps difference with both fixes for me. So I left it on.
Unofficial fix is way better than the official one. Official one is good enough to play but has several issues as reported before. Unofficial one is so far perfect.
I was worrying that returning game to a previous version and using the big sized shader fix would cripple performance greatly but not happened, as I said game feels smoother for now.
Thanks so much guys for your awesome and massive work, I'm in love with this game because of you.

@lacuna thanks for sharing, I don't know why devs release a 3d vision patch full of issues, either fix it or not. I saw the patch thread on steam forums and they had even modders from here suggesting devs how to fix it properly, but they didn't listen apparently. I've never changed profiles so I don't know if it'll work, i'm just terrible tweaking stuff, I'll check it out after I finish Witcher 3.

I agree with you birthright, I don't understand why devs don't modify the game. What is surprising is that the game is 3D Vision Ready OMG!!!!
@lacuna, unfortunately you will see that for the next destination, after Syria, the game suffers lots of stutter, and it's not depending on your config. With 16gb RAM, GTX 980 and I7 4790K, even with 720p resolution, at some locations, the game drops under 30fps!!!
I don't try with the official patch, but I think it's more optimize.
The best solution to play in 3D is the unofficial patch which is awesome but which has some fps issues. It's playable but disturbing.

Without you and the other Guys the 3D Vision Scene are condemned..
what code did you manually change??? im stuck with horrible 3D! i selected the right version of the game. i extracted the files and put them in the game folder, and i imported the profile with inspector. im lost as to what i need to do. =( . i have been at it for hours. reinstalled drivers twice then i came across your post.

This might be the best looking 3d vision title yet. (with comminity fix.) Thanks again to all the work everyone did to make it possible. As for the developer, well at least they tried....
I have a new game to freak 3d virgins out with...
i7-4790K CPU 4.8Ghz stable overclock.
