Drivers for OPTOMA 3D Ready Projectors and others Petition for support Optoma 3D Ready projectors
due to nvidia and optomas bad (lack of) support for my dw318 i have not bought 3d vision kit.
i have also come to the conclusion that pc gaming on a projector is not the way to go, having tried
battlefield bad company 2 at 1280 x 800 on my dlp optoma it was not anything like the experience
when playing at 1680 x 1050 on my samsung monitor from 2 feet away.
dont get me wrong ps3 gaming and film watching on the optoma is great but serious fps pc gaming
should be done on a monitor, and until there is zero ghosting and problems i am not investing all that
money on a monitor and glasses kit.
it will be interesting to see what kit becomes available for the ps3 when that becomes 3d enabled
Yeah im also looking forward to the PS3 3d Vision in summer 2010

EDIT: It is going to be expensive though. You have to buy a PS3+ Glasses+ 3d ready TV

So, you never really state what it is about gaming on the optoma that makes it worse for you than a monitor. I have just the opposite opinion so am curious. I use the 1.15 drivers and the experience for me is much better than gaming on a monitor.

I said it before and I'l say it again. They have your money and they don't give a rats butt about your problem. They clearly know about the problem so you don't matter to them.It would be very easy to fix. Maybe Optima hasn't given them enough cash or free projectors. When the new iz3d driver comes out I heard there will be support for eyefinity. :) It will need xpand or reald glasses but I have some allready.

It likely has to do with the almighty $ and licensing costs to be 3DVision certified. It makes sense since the last update we saw from Andrew on this topic was, "go pester Optoma because we need their help." Right... Thats why 1.15 works as well as it does because Optoma was "helping". Can't wait to see what IZ3D and DDD have up their sleeve. Who knows, maybe 3DTV Play will mark a direction change for team green since it appears we might be able to use non Nvidia glasses with some solutions...

Just another negligence and persistent indifference to customers by 3D Vision team of NVidia.
They have betrayed users of LCD and CRT monitors by not including checkerboard/intelaced modes to reduce much crosseyed ghosting (and do not want to do it, while it's technically easy), and can act with others similarly.

And everyone wonders why I want to smash my glasses on video!
Because they are garbage to me and I want unvidia to know that!

It is now my greatest hope that unvidia ends up the same as Voodoo and that the company that picks up where they left off have a conscience!

I have done this all before and they dropped support before.
They are imho thief's and liars. There is no reason for me to believe otherwise. Yes I think that there lack of response is due to the fact that they know they are scum and have no intention of helping us because Optima isn't shoveling cash into there pockets. It's not like we matter. We are just customers.

How dare they remove support after people had it working and leave them stuck with an expensive display (now unable to return it) with no support. That should be illegal!!!

I @$$ume that that 3dplay software will enable you to use the projector but you would need new glasses if I'm right.
expand 102 or103 $150usd that are out of stock or reald ce5 $450usd.

Sorry for my laughing

I have ce5 glasses working on a optima hd66 with nvidia drivers but I need the emitter plugged in and I need to use drivers cd1.15 crt mode. There is no ghosting at all.

What sad about all this is, more we complain about poor support, less support we have from Nvidia, each new driver eliminates displays which use to work with older drivers.
Nvida - is it any room in your business for listening of customers?... the people how at the end pay your wages...

I've posted a guide to get the optoma to work with cd 1.23 at http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=164029. It's quite straightforward.

I still have 10 days to return the mail back the glasses and/or the projector. I sent something to Optoma's tech support and they sent nothing back. I saw the video of that Optoma guy demoing NVIDIA glasses with the HD66 projector, heh. Should I just return the projector?

IZ3D has added driver support for this in their latest beta. Doubt it will work with NV glasses though...
