The guy in the video calls it perspective surround, so it might be getting re-labeled or it might be called this for non VR rendering?

What is different in this from normal Surround? I see exactly as I see in normal Surround...

As far as the UI.....
It should be mandated by the powers that be, that all games have a configurable UI.

It has also been added to iRacing, which I think was the first game to add it in with a patch.
There were issues with smoke and dust with the initial release, so they were disabled, but a fix was promised and may or may not have been implemented as of this time.
