Good to know, thanks for the heads up. It's in our budget to pick it up if any shaderhackers want to take a look.

So...the game is render in DX11? For the screenshots, the issues are similar than "The Evil Within", The Void engine is based on id Tech 5 so probably the fixing pattern will be similar.

I wonder if I should wait with my playthrough until I can play it in fully 3d vision... but on the other hand I got recently less radical when it comes to play a good game in 2d or 3d... I think VR did something in this respect. I played the CoDIW campaign, Titanfall 2 in 2d and I was also happy by those games.

Couldn't resist on a 2D playthrough. Damn this game looks like candy:

Hmm... can anyone use MSI Afterbuner and make a screenshot with MSI-A running in the background? I am not entirely sure this is a DX11 game... (especially if is based on ID-TECH 5) Also, it seems people are "happy" playing games in 2D so maybe we should STOP making any 3D Fixes if 2D >> 3D lately... ^_-

Quick file check shows a Direct X folder - game makes use of their "Void" engine. First couple hours with the game are fantastic - up to the standards of the original. But, Stereo 3d is sorely missed. Went back to D1 and played it for an hour or so in 3D, then switched back to D2 and monoscopic... no bueno... dropped the ME: Catalyst profile in the mix and got some uninspired CM, but like dipping a white crayon in water and calling it "milk."

It doesn't look VERY broken (judging by those heavily compressed jps screenshots). It's mostly the shadows shader that makes it look very bad. The only shader that would worry me is the one that corresponds to those artificial lights (screen depth). Things that I see are broken: - Shadows. - Artificial lights. - Water. - Moon. Can you use the latest 3Dmigoto, dump the shadows pixel shader and post it here (and the water vertex and pixel shaders if you can)? If I see something obvious there, I may be able to help.

I think we see a early version (or the transition) of the Void Engine in "The Evil Within"...i'm almost sure all the fixing pattern will work in this game aswell...so if someone can fire up 3Dmigoto and start the game using those lines in the d3dx.ini:
export_shaders=1 export_hlsl=2
Load a stage, quit and upload the ShaderCache folder i can confirm that. If is the same, Shadows/Lights and Reflections can be fixed using a batch fix. I planning to get this game and take a look (if not one already does), but i already have my next project (after finish ME: Catalyst).

It's worth noting that Steam users are reporting significant performance problems. This could mean significant patching (which may break fixes). I'd recommend holding back on investing too much time on it right away, so we can get a sense of where this is going.

Just trying to get compatibility mode to work, and although I can get it activated, it's still flat image, and I can't adjust convergence. I've tried many different profiles but nothing works yet... Have any other games had this problem? And was there a workaround?

It is mostly people that forget to change some settings in the visual options, like super sampling, like HBOA+, different crazy performance intensive shadows. This shows us one of the biggest dilemne, we have nowadays in PC gaming. If you add ultra quality options, people with a standard gpu feel entitled to play everything on ultra. I remember when Crysis was coming out. It's not that people could play at this time on ultra. So I took even years for medium GPUs to run it for them. That does not mean that there is certainly space for performance improvements, however Bethesda stated clearly in a FAQ what people are suppose to do in order to improve their performance. Check my rig and I have zero problems on everything maxed out. Okay, I will run migoto.
