Resident Evil 2 Remake

WIP 9: https://s3.amazonaws.com/masterotaku/Resident+Evil+2/RE2_WIP9.7z - The fix is now compatible with vendor extensions, thanks to Schwing! It now includes a "Mod_RE2.dll" and a custom "d3d11.dll". If you had changed the "re2_config.ini" before for the fix, set these again to their default "Enable" values:
UseVendorExtention=Enable UseOptimizeShader=Enable
I need HDR users to test this. Tell me if HDR works. - Fixed a bunch of shaders for this new mode (the old one will keep working too). Volumetric lighting now fixed in regex. - At last, perfect screen space reflections. There was small problem in surfaces that I didn't notice until now. - Fixed rain in ASM instead of HLSL. It solves a problem where it sometimes disappeared. - Commented the override that caused stability problems for some users. Remember to always uninstall old fix versions with "uninstall.bat". Masterdid, you didn't install the fix correctly. Or you are using a Windows 7 version that doesn't work. Try the new one.

So , with those parameters enabled there is no more problems, but with HDR enabled in settings I get weird effect on moving objects or when I am running I can see stuff with double imaging and flickering.

You may have to wait years if this is the case :(. DarkStarSword and Schwing will be working on fixing in 3Dmigoto some things that I had to work around to make the game work (precision in shaders, and maybe the crashing issues). We'll see. I'll be working with what I have available to me.

Just installed and tested WIP9. Unfortunately the game still freeze-crashes at the exact same point in the bginning of the Alligator-fight in the sewers! Am I right that the fix for this crash-scene isn't part of the WIP9 yet!? Since I play the game on my 65" LG OLED 4K TV I would really like to help with HDR-testing. Unfortunately I am currently suffering from the "HDR option in Windows 10 missing"-syndrome. I used to have this option available but since a few days it somehow vanished from the display settings in Windows 10.

I still am yet to experience a single crash. (apart from of the very early WIP) As of 9 everything is looking great. Unfortunately I am still plagued by the 3d getting messed up on convergence change though, and I really need to use it for cutscene/gameplay.

lohan: I haven't reached that part yet. I used all the time yesterday to fix shaders. Necropants: what if you disable SLI?

You can add some negative values to make the HUD and subtitles pop out, when dynamic HUD isn't used (like cutscenes when DoF is enabled). .
Thanks for this info masterotaku. I see now what you were doing, getting that HUD(and subtitles) to dynamically shift in front of the 3D models. However, in my game, this results in the subtitles "jumping" in and out constantly, making them quite distracting. Also at different convergence levels, the menus start to flicker (F1 cycle) with the exception of the default convergence which appears normal...not sure if this is related. Is there a way to set the HUD and subtitles to a static position? Or toggle this dynamic HUD with a hotkey?

Hey Masterotaku, thanks for your hard work. I was able to get almost through the sewers now with WIP9. I got stuck on a boss that crashes almost always when he smashes something and makes sparks. I pulled a log for you again, hope it helps. https://ufile.io/fofx7 With the WIP9, the rain looks totally awesome now. Really, awesome work.
I got stuck on a boss that crashes almost always when he smashes something and makes sparks. I pulled a log for you again, hope it helps.
Thank you! Yes, it helps a lot. Once again, it was a rain fix: "[TextureOverride_Rain_112_10]", with hash "341ddc75" (line 1525 in "d3dx.ini"). Look for that block and comment it or delete it. It's already the third one from that group that I had to disable because of crashes :(. You can see that the last two lines in your log were:
TextureOverride_Rain_112_10 matched resource with hash=341ddc75 setting custom surface creation mode.
It means that right after doing that, the game crashed. It's a shame that fixing one-eye rain effects causes crashes. We'll have to live with that until someday (if possible) a future 3Dmigoto version can avoid the crashes. I could have just not tried to fix any of them, but I wanted to risk crashes to get the highest number of working effects. Edit: [TextureOverride_Raina4] also causing a crash in a cutscene. @djgrege: line 104, where it says "x=0". That's the default value when dynamic HUD isn't used. Change it to what you want. About subtitles "jumping", that's the dynamic HUD, which by default puts everything to the depth of the depth of whatever is at the center of the screen. If you press ".", each vertex will have its own depth, but it can make some text hard to read. Press it twice and dynamic HUD will be disabled. If you use depth of field, at least most cutscenes will automatically switch to static HUD depth (the default value if you don't press F2) until the DoF effect disappears.

Lohan if you are using SLI , could you share a profile that makes it work please? Also for HDR I did not need to turn on HDR in windows, just turn it on in display setting in-game. and it auto detected for me anyways. It gives me weird effects though , which I am trying to get a screenshot of it, but it seems to happen only in motion.

thx for the new wip ... unfortunately I have the same unsharp optics (see attached) ... I disabled overlay in nvidia experience ... I copied the files directly in the game root folder ... I tried on my 3D Vision ready monitor with 120 fps and with my beamer and 3DTV ... I installed the game again and copied the files without any changes in the root folder ... and have win 10 no updates left ... what else can it be? ... any help appreciated :)

It looks like you are using TAA or motion blur. Disable those! Also make sure you're playing in DirectX 11. I assume you're doing that. On other news, I have just fixed one important source of lighting clipping :). There is still another one remaining.

Yesss, apparently I know how to fix all clipping accurately (perfectly scaling with convergence to never be seen). Edit: update tomorrow, not today. There are things I need to do before uploading it.
