Renaming Steam ".exe" files Steam won't let me rename .exe files for 3d fix
I'm having problems with implementing fixes for 3d issues. Several games list a rename of the ".exe" files for fixes with some 3d issues. When I rename an .exe on a steam game, it tells me that the application is not available and to try back later. It will say this until I put the name back. I've also tried to copy the .exe and just rename the copy to no avail. The last one I tried was MLB 2K12, but I have tried a few. The Helix fix for Binary Domain says to rename it as well. I'm going to try this one now.
If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. I'm assuming that I'm missing something simple, since it seems to be working for some.

the workaround I use is to create a steam shortcut to the renamed .exe, for some reason it will launch it without a fuss. not sure it works for all games though.

OK, I tried the shortcut in steam to the renamed .exe to no avail, however the idea did sound good. Thanks anyway on that.
I do have the inspector, but I have no idea what I should do with it in this case. eqzitara, would you mind breaking that down a bit for me?
Thanks
