Yeah I'm SOL with the Z800 and the resolution for the VR920 is too low for even me. :(

this is for people like myself who use the matrox triple head to go . if you have never used one or understand what Field of View is or have not seen it then dont call this a bunch of crap. I use 3 dlp projectors in 3d stereo its fantastic but there is limits to the THTG I hope nvidea with their 3d ideas can do something like this , it would clean up alot of loose ends.

Yeah, I've had dual projectors for expanded fov (not triple though ooh la la /haha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':haha:' /> ). It isn't like eyefinity is crap in and of itself, but rather it just isn't much in comparison to 3d stereo unfortunately. But like you said, with any luck nV will create their own version that is compatible with 3d stereo in one way or another.

No, it doesn't work because the TH2G is maxing out the bandwidth on dual-link DVI so it can only do 57Hz @ 5040 x 1050.

Is it theoretical issue or you tried to do that?

Its a limitation of the hardware, so there would be no point for him to try it since he would be RMA'ing the screens straight after.. since the THTG cannot handle the refresh rate

However, have you thought about using Soft-TH with 3 120hz screens plugged in, its not an ideal solution, whether or not it would work with all 3 in S3D is another question but it would be insane if it did...

How can I do Soft-TH for 3 monitors? There are only two connectors on videocard.

Add another video card...

Soft TH doesnt require all 3 screens to be running from one graphics card (unlike the hardware THTG) however this also means you wont benefit from SLI

I may be getting a 2nd 3D Vision bundle soon, so I can give it a go with 2 screens at least but I reckon the driver will be a limitation.

Can you imagine how old of a game you'd have to play to get playable frame rates using three monitors in 3D? (or even better, three DLP TVs @ 1920x1080 each, in 3D)

SIX instances. Damn. I think it'd be back to HL2 at low settings with this GTX 280 O_O

You've got to admit though, in principle it would be awesome, but I guess then things like Vuzix & Headplay (i think thats the name) would have evolved by the time that sort of setup on the latest games is possible, giving you better FOV and improved headtracking etc... things like the VR920 sound good, but dont really cut it hence why it will be on ebay pretty soon

OP, you do know that there is nothing that new about 3 monitors, Matrox Triple Head has done this for a while.

lots of info at www.widescreengamingforum.com

A native solution is an improvement, but if it isn't 3D it doesn't matter much on this forum.

Sounds interesting. Does it mean, with 3 video cards and 3 monitors I`ll get maximum performance (just for 3-monitors configuration, of course)?
Does Soft TH compatible with Triple-SLI or it better to do separately? (I also want to try it with iZ3D. I still didn`t sell some of these monitors.)

Cyber, I think some folks here are misinformed about how the brain works and perception regarding FOV versus stereo3D. Lets end the conjecture:

Wide FOV is at least if not MORE important than stereo3D for immersive gaming. For all of those here that have seen a DOME IMAX film made for the format, S3D on a flat screen without WIDE FOV is not as good to me as a properly done DOME image. But these guys worked with NASA and got the real answers:

http://www.leepvr.com/12periphery.html

To sum it up, those that think S3D is more important that wide FOV, well the science does not back you up - sorry! :(

Its all down to personal preference, forget about science...

I run 3 screens and have THTG Digital, yes its great but I prefer using Stereo 3D in a lot more titles..
now to mix the two, which is basically what the majority of this topic about would be a good leap forward..

Its not a discussion on how the brain perceives things, nor whether 3 Screens is better than Stereo 3D or not so Im not sure why you felt the need to add that to the topic ? To me its kind of 'Off Topic'

In reply to Alex TOPMAN

Matrox (hardware) THTG does support Triple SLI since all information is sent from a single Dual Link DVI output to the matrox box and then split for each screen, the hardware has restrictictions to the configuration of screens available to give an example of this

It would not support 1 30" screen, with 2 rotated 24" screens since all screens must be the same resolutions

SoftTH does however support different screen sizes, but lacks support of a lot of games, things like GTR Evo work like a charm though, however to enable all monitors to work, you cannot use SLI, therefore the first GPU is doing all the hard work...
