OK, took me awhile to figure out, but I have an answer for being able to use Alias Isolation with our 3D Fix. I even made a new build of AliasIsolation, but it turns out that is unnecessary. To use Alias Isolation mod, enable the CS flag in the profile. Set StereoFlagsDX10=0x00004000. Or use the Max Payne 3 Profile. Normal, without TAA. Specifically look at the monitor/computer stand. The horizontal bars are very distracting. After, with TAA mod: Now the bars are cleaned up. More noticeable when moving. Set StereoFlagsDX10=0x00004000. Or use the Max Payne 3 Profile.

Normal, without TAA.

Specifically look at the monitor/computer stand. The horizontal bars are very distracting.

After, with TAA mod:

Now the bars are cleaned up. More noticeable when moving.

Working fine here. Check that you completely uninstalled the prior fix, and play with different settings. That looks like planar reflections. Try to narrow down settings that might be going wrong on your system.

bo3b, thank you for getting that going. I am always amazed at the work you do. With Alias Isolation working (which is very nice) I seem to need vsync running in some form to avoid tearing/stutter, and cannot go over 60fps. I am running 2 1080 cards in sli and at 60fps they are really not working hard at all. Its fine like this but just wondered if anyone could comment on the under utilization and if there is something that can push this a little harder. heartfelt appreciation for what you do for the 3d community. G.

G.
Glad you like it. And thanks for the original post, as I did not know that Alias Isolation existed. It's always fun to share. :-> For this and SLI, I don't have a good answer. It might work, but also might not. The author of Alias Isolation said that he did not think SLI would work. It's also possible that it works, but is too slow to use because of how TAA works. It's alternating frames, which might end up on the other card and need an expensive copy back. I think the vSync is also required, because it needs the full frame to add jitter, which fixes the aliasing. If it tries to do that with a tearing frame, it will be mostly broken because it compares to the prior frame to create the TAA effect. Might be OK, but I'd expect it to generate artifacts. You might try running a single 1080, because this game has good performance. It would be worth seeing if you can get better utilization with a single card.

What about Nvidia's "Smooth Sync" for SLI, does it not work with 3D Vision? It seems like it would be a good solution for this problem, if it does.

In the other thread I posted, that obviously led you here, there's a link that says....... Alias isolation Antialiasing mod that also removes the famous barrel distortion. This breathe new life to this gem, the magic that the author created is amazing. It was said that not even the devs could solved this problem as it concerned the engine itself. But 2 years from release we get to replay Alien Isolation again in all it´s glory. Or a quick Google found a post by the author Alias Isolation: an anti-aliasing mod (self.alienisolation) enviado hace 6 meses * por aliasIsolation I wrote a mod for Alien: Isolation which adds temporal anti-aliasing. It works by hooking subroutines in the game, injecting extra code, and replacing a few shaders. The mod does all of its work in the memory of a running process, which means that no tinkering with the game's files is necessary. SMAA (Enhanced Subpixel Morphological Antialiasing) which shipped in the game isn't enough to remove the high intensity aliasing on edges of shiny surfaces, so there's crawlies everywhere in the game. Temporal anti-aliasing blends multiple frames together using a content-aware filter. This allows it to remove the shimmering of moving edges at a reasonable cost. The mod implements an algorithm similar to Unreal Engine 4, Uncharted 4, and Inside. The source code and binaries are on github: https://github.com/aliasIsolation/aliasIsolation/releases Check out http://imgur.com/gallery/kDDfD for some comparisons between the built-in anti-aliasing solution and the mod, and the README for more details. You can tell if it's working by using the built-in on/off settings. ctrl-delete off, ctrl-insert on. You should see a noticeable difference, including it removing the barrel distortion that the original game has. The main purpose of TAA is to remove temporal artifacts, not necessarily smooth everyhing to the nth degree. For sharp edges you see bright pixels crawling as you turn your head. TAA fixes that crawling/bright pixel problem. This TAA is far superior to what is built into the game.

The monitor panel is the same but all the guts are different after the gsync mod. In the control panel it shows up as Nvidia G-sync 241910.
