I'm not arguing about anything...
But it seems like you're trying to start one by saying that phrase that I'm arguing when I thought we all were having a convo. You also seem to ignore everything I even say because your mind is set to depict that I'm arguing when I've given logical statements to your responses :P But ok.
Let's summarize all points:
That asus:
-very limited hdd space. upgrading to a normal hdd maximizes your space out at 2tb. To go over, 4tb ssd is needed which is 1500+ bucks.
-inability to upgrade. soldered cpu and gpu means you will face degradation in a year and a half and machine will eventually become useless because you cant even repaste so components stay in top shape. and when the machine messes up after around 2 years with hardware failures, you'd have to buy a completely new machine. which is another 1500 :P
-lacks sli
-overclocking is questionable given the thin frame and inability to repaste.
-no 3D vision
-vr
the p370sm3:
-maximum hdd space = 6tb. possibility for even more if highly expensive ssds are used which is pointless to get over 512gb on a system drive ssd. it's optimal to use ssd only for system drive while games are on hdd. so your ssd will never degradate any time soon.
-I only have 4 games that need a 1070 card which are a few new games of this year which is only needed for 4k. 1080p games still works fine nomatter the card with 780m being the least common denominator. Every 10000 other previous games (from 1980-2016) play just fine in 4k and below. Emulator and PC games alike.
-3Dvision
-mainline vr questionable
-smartphone vr perfect
-sli surpasses the graphics score of the asus but as stated, not really needed for anything but 4 4k rezzed games. Somehow, a $400 upgrade for 4 games (which isn't necessary) is so terrible compared to a 1500 ssd upgrade for more asus space and 1500 every 2 years for asus replacement. Somehow the asus is magically cheaper with that said lol.
*the qosmio was 3 years old when it was bought for practically the same price is was purchased 4 years ago which is maxed out with poor specs and cant even be ugraded, updated, or maintenanced with repasting. But magically a 10x superior and smarter machine is only worth $400 even though it's still 10x more powerful than current brand new $400 machines because zig says so (the complete logic of zig).

Your Toshiba was a limited run and a collector's item again don't rag on me because you want top dollar for a 4 year old laptop bo3b just pointed out your price is way out of the ballpark so every one here say's the same but you keep throwing specs around about your 4 old laptop without an OS.
Last example
I have a first run PlayStation 1 unopened it is worth roughly $500 to $600 according to a eBay search with sold items today you could purchase a PlayStation Pro with a couple games for the same price and 500 times more powerful for the same price.
This is the last post on this topic for me and the last time I give advice on anything.

Zig, your price projection is fair but a bit low. If you look at completed items on ebay for laptops with a 780m and similar speces, they sell for $450-$600ish dollars. He may be able to grt $650-$700 if he is REALLY lucky. I just sold a MSI with a 770m for $450 that had a 128gb SSD and a 1TB HDD. It was also CPU/GPU upgradeable. I was very fortunate to do so though, it was on Craigslist. No way this laptop sells for more than $700. I'd say $550-$600 is probably fair.

Remember user's want items to work this has no OS this is a gaming laptop so Windows only most buyers don't google Windows 10 Keys cheap they purchase from either New Egg or Amazon this adds another $110 for the average person IMO the item may be in prefect condition but it's no working do to not having an OS most high end old laptops are sold with a OS and working with all these factors $400 should the starting price and also to offer a warranty @ extra $100 is no-no for the price the user is asking you could purchase a brand new laptop or desktop that would run circles around what he is selling with an OS and full warranty.

If you want to sell it fast under-price it. If you want to sit on it for a long time keep it at this price.
I suggest pricing it at 999.99 with free shipping and presenting it as something special. If you just want to get rid of it.
Right now just looking at it as a buyer i am confused to why I would want a laptop at this price. So I would probably message you with questions about the laptop.
I have sold a lot of things on ebay. I normally undercut my comp on ebay when I sell. Just to get the item out of the way.
The only other one I see is this one.

No, sorry, the formatting at the bottom of your auction is unreadable, so I did not dig through it.
Nevertheless, the market is telling you that it is overpriced. The market gets to decide. You can make up reasons why they are all stupid, but the market is the ultimate arbiter. If it's not selling, the price is too high.
Your link there is not compelling. That's someone else who is confused about how much it is worth, and trying to sell at too high a price. Open auctions are meaningless.
When I want to know the actual value of something, I look for closed auctions. Check box on the left.
The auction I posted is the real price. That wasn't a desperation sale, that was an actual auction, looking for actual market price. Only one person bid, at $900. That machine has slightly less CPU, but double the GPU.
So yes, that does set the real price.
If you care to know the actual value, the only thing that matters is closed auctions. Those are auctions that have actually sold, money changed hands at that price. Everything else is wishful thinking.

For all the effort OP put into this thread, he could at least have improved the presentation of his actual listing. Very few people would be comfortable dropping over a thousand dollars on a listing that looks like a phishing attempt out of Craigslist, even if the product wasn't a no-name brand laptop (albeit one with exceptional specs).

Wouldnt mind a laptop like that btw.. but used laptops.. ugh, i've had a few, they often get problems, heating is a huge issue with laptops, yes it might have worked fine for years but that doesnt mean it will continue to do so, especially so if it has run hot (which laptops do). screens and cables (oxidation of the contacts) can be either very expensive or just very complex to fix. For that much money i really would like some warranty..

Remember user's want items to work this has no OS this is a gaming laptop so Windows only most buyers don't google Windows 10 Keys cheap they purchase from either New Egg or Amazon this adds another $110 for the average person IMO the item may be in prefect condition but it's no working do to not having an OS most high end old laptops are sold with a OS and working with all these factors $400 should the starting price and also to offer a warranty @ extra $100 is no-no for the price the user is asking you could purchase a brand new laptop or desktop that would run circles around what he is selling with an OS and full warranty.

bo3b: you do see that the processor and ram is less powerful than mine right?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Clevo-P375SM-Gaming-Notebook-17-3-FHD-Matte-Display-Barebones-Notebook-/112092619361?hash=item1a193da261:g:-ggAAOSwMtxXriIj this is the barebones model with nothing and is 900 something. So no way am I overpriced.... One person in desperation to get rid of the item does not set the standard of price.
zig11727: top dollar would be me selling it for 2700 :P User usually have their own os because they are getting rid of their old machine in trade for the new one. an os is 200. If I had an os to add, it would be +200 and it would infact be fair for me to do so. Makes no sense how you guys are trying to put the price so low of laptops that are still overly less powerful than the item being sold. tsk tsk tsk.

And this doesn't even include the rest of the stuff for functionality nor the emitter and glasses price lol. Yet you're gonna put it lower than a laptop that's way less powerful.

As I stated, more than fair. I see this is the wrong place for understanding hardware and how things really work :P
Model: Clevo P570WM Laptop
GPU: GeForce GTX 980M ~8GB GDDR5
CPU: Intel Core i7-4960X CPU +4.2GHz (12 CPUs)
Memory: 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3L 1600MHz, 4x8gb
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate

That's a different Clevo, not as good a screen, and no 3D. But full warranty. If someone has $1400, what will they choose?

Wouldnt mind a laptop like that btw.. but used laptops.. ugh, i've had a few, they often get problems, heating is a huge issue with laptops, yes it might have worked fine for years but that doesnt mean it will continue to do so, especially so if it has run hot (which laptops do). screens and cables (oxidation of the contacts) can be either very expensive or just very complex to fix. For that much money i really would like some warranty..
