Nvidia - Andrew! Reply already with Witcher 2 3d problems since it is supposedly 3d READY !

Not that it matters much, but Witcher 2 is rated as Excellent and not 3D ready when i checking 275.50 driver 3d vision game list.

But that is not what was sold to us. It was sold as 3d vision ready.

The puropose of these forums is for our voice to be heard. The community has a 27 page....TWENTY SEVEN page thread voicing the issues with witcher 2 in 3d.

Andrew, we love your company's product. PLEASE DON'T leave all of us IN THE DARK.

When is 3d and all the issues described in the HUGE THREAD / STICKY above GOING TO BE FIXED!?!??! IF you endorse something as working with the company so that it is 3d enjoyable/ready (as you stated in the large thread above) ... make it so!!!

if you upgrade the driver, not clean install writh 3dvision enabled from the early driver, the inside levels run good but the shadows in the outside levels are messed up but very playable in my opion.

That's interesting. It just so happens that I installed the beta driver last night to play Alice: Madness returns. I did an express install, which I never do, but it was late and I was lazy. I'll give the Witcher 2 a go tonight and see if I have the same results.

OK, say we're playing catch. I ask if you're ready. You say yes. I throw the ball. You almost catch it. Did you lie to me? No! You were ready, you just didn't catch the ball.

Most games out there are not 3D Vision Ready. Those games have no clue that they are going to get rendered in 3D. NVIDIA is just going to throw the ball at their hands and hope it works out (which it often does). A game that is 3D Vision Ready IS aware that it's going to get rendered in 3D, though, and is going to make an attempt to catch the ball. Witcher 2 almost caught it.

It's not like there's only one toss, though. CDPR can keep releasing patches to try and fix the problem. They did a good job of that with the original Witcher. We'll see if they do as well the second time.
Just happened to visit the main 3D Vision page on this site and it looks like they've updated the blurb about the "3D Vision Ready" logo. Here's what it says: (copied and pasted)

> 3D Vision-Ready Content: built specifically using guidance from NVIDIA's The-Way-It's-Meant-To-Be-Played program. For instance, games that carry the badge ensure menus, heads-up-displays, scenery, and cut scenes are rendered in flawless 3D.

So there you have it people... That's Nvidia's definition of "3D ready." I think the key word in that definition is "FLAWLESS."

Ah ha! Good catch SnickerSnack. I see it now at the end of http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-about.html

That definition makes no sense at all, though. It says that 3D Vision Ready games are rendered in flawless 3D. From what I've seen, Witcher 2's 3D is pretty good but flawless?? That's rediculous. Just Cause 2 certainly wasn't flawless and it's on the list. It was mighty good but it sure wasn't flawless. The Heaven Demo (which used to be on the list) wasn't even close to flawless.

P.S. (Hmmm, were vorpal blades sponsored by Mars Corp.? The vorpal blade went for a SnickersSnack?)

I guess we'll have to wait a month or two for a patch. In the meantime, let's all step outside and enjoy the sunshine. Given most of us seem to spend most days counting duff frame rates on buggy games, I bet we could all do with a bit of vitamin D.

See you outside! Who's bringing the frisbee?

I have been pretty patient with this but its really getting ridiculous. I just finished my first play through and am waiting on a second to play in 3D, WTF is taking so long! Us enthusiasts pay a lot of money to play cutting edge games in 3D but there is no support for it. I will not recommend 3D vision to friends until I see that Nvidia starts supporting games when they release, especially ones with the so called 3D vision ready stamp. Here we are a month later...

Sunshine causes cancer, everyone knows that! It's time to play all those Steam games you bought for cheap around Christmas. /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

It is looking like this will be a long haul, though. CDPR *is* expecting to push out a bunch of free DLCs so they will be spending some quality time with their code. Let's hope somebody thinks its worth it to fix the 3D thing.

Actually, he started showing up over the winter. Before that we got... well... pretty much what you've seen since E3. An NVIDIA rep would pop up every now and again to make an announcement or to ask how some new drivers are doing. Most of the time, though, we were just talking to ourselves.

He only really comes here when Nvidia has a product to promote that 3D Vision is attached to, and is no where to be seen when said product has problems in 3D. What you guys are going through now, I and many others have already been through many times since 2009 (when I got mine) and earlier. We've pretty much given up. We take whatever bones Nvidia decides to throw us, and vow to leave Nvidia's 3D solution immediately if iZ3D or Tri-Def ever decide to make a better supported product.

I'm only using 3D Vision at this point because it's the best of three poorly supported solutions. It would be nice if someone came out with a real 3D solution that's properly supported and has a list of more than just 10 games that work perfectly with it.

Hi All

No one has scared me off, I've just been really busy at work and trying to juggle two kids at home. Its not fair to say that I only post when we have new products. If you check my frequency and number of posts, I'm pretty highly ranked :).

With regards to your specific question, the 3D Vision performance issues will be addressed in the 1.3 patch which should be out today or tomorrow.
