samsung plasma "ps50a450p1" : can it be used for 3dvision?
Hi

I have a samsung "3d enabled" palsma set with 1080i resolution and 100 MHz of refresh, and I think you heard this question a LOT: can it be used with the 3d vision glasses? and if so, how does the ghosting problems affect this set?

thanx

Yes it does, ghosting out of the box is pretty noticeable, a greenish hue but with tweaking the 3d is amazing!

Have you compared the ghosting after tweaking to a DLP?
The one thing I love the most about DLP is NO ghosting, I just wish it was a bit smaller and I would not mind that plasma at all. /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I have the Pn50b450 and there is a MINOR amount of ghosting but
once you find the sweet spot for the settings, there is literally
hardly ANY ghosting at all.. about the same as the Samsung 22"

Yeah that is my issue now, I got so used to the DLP that even the LCD now looks like to much ghosting compared to it.
I guess I need to try it. :-)

Turn down digital vibrance in the control panel to around 25 percent from it's default 50 it helps alot..

also turn down the cell light of the tv slightly

That last bit isn't very comforting when the Samsung 2233rz has plenty of ghosting unless you play at 6+ feet away, from my personal experience =/

From what I've read about peoples' experience with plasma for 3D, it's about the same amount of ghosting as an LCD. Goes away with distance. I think that's the main reason DLPs don't ghost is because you're sitting so far away that the bright whites aren't as hard for your glasses to filter out. If I use my Samsung 22" at 6-8 feet away, there is virtually no ghosting, but the screen is way too small to use at that distance, and I'm restricted to games that work well with a gamepad. I am counting the days till tax season when I can snag a 60" DLP and a second pair of 3DV glasses, and kiss ghosting goodbye.
