460 or 470 GTX enough for 3D Vision with newer games?

it's not like you wouldn't notice the 3d, but just like with 2d, to me, 1fps per hertz would be desireable, or 120fps, @ 1080p, along with good pq settings and AA. I looked at some benchmarks recently and it seems as though highend sli wouldn't be a bad idea, to this end, imo. (Apologies for the sacrilegious benchs.)

If I were you I would pick up a 470 for a couple of reasons. If your going to get a 120hz 3d enabled monitor you'll more than likely love it, and eventually you may want to get 2 more and then have 3d surround! By the time your ready for it, hopefully the price of the panels will come down a little bit. If you watch the auctions on ebay, there's 470's that can be had for as low as $250 if your patient(an a little lucky). One could also say you could do this with 480's but then you really start breaking the bank. Just my 2 cents.
P.S I agree with the others though about SLI, it really shines in 3d. Another reason is so that when/if you do go all the way, you'll need 2 cards anyway for 3 monitors.

Thanks for all the opinions. Looking at the benchmarks and cutting them in half is the way to think about it. Basically, I'd expect Metro 2033 (one of the most taxing DX11 games around) to be ~25fps on a 470 or overclocked 460. I can always scale back the details a bit and go SLI down the road. Looks like I'm going to need to replace my 380W psu. I'm thinking 650W corsair to cover future SLI.

650 W Corsair ? As soon as you switch on, you will hear a big "BOOM", especiallly with 470 SLI /haha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':haha:' /> .
The least you will need is an 850W PSU.... ideally a Corsair HX1000 W.

Trust me, I have had both a EVGA GTX 480 overclocked vs a GTX 295 for 3d Vision and the Gtx 295 wipes the floor in 3d gaming with the GTX 480

P.S I agree with the others though about SLI, it really shines in 3d. Another reason is so that when/if you do go all the way, you'll need 2 cards anyway for 3 monitors.
