I get crazy!!!! :(
  1 / 3
After replacing my Nvidia 3d vision 2 glasses, then the whole computer and now the screen, I am still suffering strong ghosting/crosstalk. But, lets start... around 2 years ago I bought the Benq xl2420 with the nvidia 3d vision 2 kit. I was sooo impressed about that! Then, suddenly I got strong crosstalk/ghosting. So I replaced the glasses, same problem. About a year (and dozends of hours searching the internet for a solution) later, I replaced my computer. Still the same problem and cursing my Benq monitor. now I bought the "ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q G-Sync", primarly to get rid of the ghosting/crosstalk. Buuuuut... its still there. I tried with the old nvidia driver, but its not working with the new monitor. I am really frustrated now, since I love the 3d technology from nvidia, lots better then the Oculus Rift I bought... Anyone an Idea? Is there a fix for the Nvidia 3d driver? It looks to me like a sychnonisation problem with the monitor and the glasses, since I get on the right eye a negativ image of the left picture and the oter way around. ;((((( Please help!

Assuming you are using the "pyramid" emitter and not a built-in monitor emitter (I always get sync issues with my VG278 built in emitter), then perhaps it's a USB issue? It's best if you have the emitter on its own usb hub I think, so there is no bandwidth contention - I had to do this a while back when I kept getting inverted images, but I can't remember where to find the information about what is on what hub in Windows (though it *is* in there somewhere) - perhaps Google to find out. Otherwise, hopefully others here on the Forum will have some ideas...

If I may, I think it is not a hardware problem, but the typical problem of bad implementation on the side of the software. Welcome to the forum, maybe you just need some software mod fixes?! Btw, if you mean with Ghosting the dark double image for example of a tree on a very bright background, then I have this too with my Asus and 3dv2 kit, even after fixes.

Why not post a screenshot of a game you are trying to play in 3D and let us see if we can help you there. Like it was said I don't think is a general thing but rather specific to the game/application you are using;)

Thanks for your very fast replies :) I tried with different USB ports on two different PC's. USB 2 and USB 3. Frontside USB, backside USB and external USB 3 HUB. Even tried with the USB on keyboard and monitor, but of course this didnt work. Yes mrorange, exactly this is the issue I have. But I see it everywhere, not only in this extrem situation you described. I ususally test it in the nvidia systemsettings, where the nvidia logo and the eye is coming to front and back again, and the double image is conspicuous at the first glance. It wouldnt bother me THAT bad if I wouldnt remember the first days when I did not have this problem. The 3d effect was a lot better and it just suddenly startet :/

Hi Helifax I have this problem in every game. WOW, Tomb Raider, Skyrim, GW2, Metro, Borderlands, Kingdoms of Amalur, etc... even in the nvidia systemsettings (nvidia demo scene with the eye and the text). I will try to create a picture through my goggles and post it...

I did look at the jps image and definitely I cannot see the ghosting that you are seeing in the glasses picture... I tested on my 3D Vision 1 kit + monitor and also on my laptop with 3D Vision 2 glasses + monitor... It might appear that is a hardware problem... However did you try to reinstall the drivers? I would recommend: - Boot in safe mode - Run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) - Purge the system of any Nvidia stuff (and reboot 1st option) - Download drivers and reinstall (normal mode) - When asked to reboot, reboot - Configure your resolution and 3D Vision - Run the game and see if you get the same effects... Are you using by any chance an AMD CPU? I remember in the old days I had a lot of ghosting from my bios setting since I was using an AMD CPU and it had something to do with the USB ports (some weird AMD only setting) If that doesnt help....I think either the glasses or monitor has some issues... Also, are you using the original Dual-Link DVI cable supplied with the monitor?

I will reinstall the drivers, even if I had this problem already with my previous system (also Win7 64bit). My specs: CPU: Intel i5 4570 Board: Gigabyte H87-HD3 Memory: 8GB DDR3 GPU: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 770 AMP! I already changed the glasses... and the monitor too... I used the original Dual-Link DVI cable, 120hz is not possible with a normal DVI... now I am using Display Port since the PG278Q only have this one :)

Since glasses + monitor are new, what else did you "keep" from the old system? Have you tried just restoring the BIOS to the Optimized Defaults? (also checking for a BIOS update might help) I know these sound like the typical questions but I am trying to figure out what might be the issue... I think you are using an external emitter right? Have you tried using a different USB cable between the pyramid and the PC ?

After uninstalling nvidia drivers in safe mode with DDU and reinstalling them in normal mode, same problem :) I am using the original display port cable without an adapter. It's one cable from display port at the monitor to the display port at the graphic card. I only kept the tower of the old PC. And my Logitech G15 keyboard. I could try to remove as many USB devices as possible and try again. Had problems with connected USB devices once I overclocked a cpu, but quite a while ago. The BIOS should be as new as the rest of the computer, since I replaced the motherboard when I bought the new pc. But I can give it a try. Maybe some USB settings (even if I already tried some stuff there). Yes I use an external emitter. The USB cable between the pyramid and the PC has been replaced when I replaced the glasses, they gave me a complete new set.

I took the old Sound Blaster X-Fi card from my old PC, but it was working with that card since I had it before the 3d kit. The Logitech G930 Headset and I think the G600 mouse is also from the old PC... And I removed all USB devices now (except mouse and transmitter), but it didnt help...
