I have an old generation 120hz monitor (LG w2363d), and I understand that the 3d vision 2 glasses will function with the old emitter, but will there be any benefit other than bigger and more comfortable lenses?

Do the glasses themselves allow for more light and color information to reach the eye?

Thanks!

No they seem to function exactly the same way as 3DVision 1 glasses with older monitors. At least I can detect no difference.

Mail me a pair, and I'll give you feedback for free. On both the glasses and the product. I've got a truckload of games here I could test them with from as far back as 1998. And you can rest assured that they will be tested.

This may seem silly but i have the original emmiter from 3d vision 1, can I buy glasses for 3D Vision 2 and use it without need of buying a new emitter?
Yes, the glasses work with the original emitter. They also work with the original 3D Vision monitors as well. I think the only difference is the brightness of the 3D Vision 2 monitors.

A very important improvement would be more ovbious adjustment of convergence settings. I actually posted my own subject on the matter.

I almost sold my 3dvision 2 glasses kit because after 2 months of using it off and on I was not impressed at all by the 3d. I adjusted depth to almost max and the games still didn't look that 3d. Then I found out about the convergence adjustment and increased it until WOW, now thats 3d. The picture actually looks 3d.

Also please let game developers understand the importance of convergence settings and not allow them to lock it. I know some games have it locked especially first person shooteres because of the HUD but game developers can easily account for this when making games so that users can increase convergence to their liking.

I wonder if this test has been completed and, if so, why this is still a sticky topic?

$2.89?? Jeez, that's not even close. That's about how much it would cost to have the manager email one of the developers and have the developer read the email. Figuring out where to put the checkbox, making room for it, translating the checkbox label into umpteen languages, moving the checkbox again because it didn't fit when translated into German, then testing the checkbox in WinXP, WinXP 64-bit, Win7, and Win7 64-bit (and some of the server OSes?) will cost a bunch more. It's probably going to cost at least $500.

Hello,

I agree with supcaj.
You're asking us to help you, but you don't listen to us.

I will speak about 3DTVPlay since i have a Panasonic 3DTV, but some points are true for 3DVision too.

- Unlock the convergence settings for "3D Vision Ready" games.

- When adjusting convergence, add a "bar" on the screen (there is one for depth) because sometimes it's difficult to cancel bad manipulation and/or to remember the setting.

- Add the checkerboard 3D format as it already exists in the 3DVision driver, for HDMI 1.4 TVs that support it.

- Add 1080p60 SBS and/or TopBottom. Just look how many are the threads about this feature on the forum (and on google!).

- If possible, and with 3DTV manufacturers cooperation, add a "1080p30 framepacking" (true 1080p @ 30fps per eye) since it would be fast enough for some games (for example, Batman AA, GTA4 are "almost" smooth at 24fps, 30fps which is +25% would be awesome ! )

And please, don’t answer by “When it’s done”.
I don’t want to wait 12 years like for Duke Nukem Forever, and be disappointed.
Do better ! /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

I've downloaded the HDMI 1.4a 3D specs, and

"1920x1080p @ 29.97/30Hz (Frame Packing)" is mentioned in the "Primary 3D Video Format Timings" part.
So i guess every HDMI 1.4a 3DTVs would accept this input format.

Am I Right ?

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. Instead of altering their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views ... which can be very uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.
