Emitter not being recognized About 50% of the time
On start-up (windows 7 64-bit (upgraded from vista 64-bit)) quite often my emitter will not be recognized. Sometimes i will get a red light instead of a green, or recently, on the odd occasion i will actually get a blue light. Sometimes i won't get any light other than the little green one on the back of it. The little green one on the back of the emmiter always glows green despite whatever color appears on the front.

The emitter itself seems to be okay, it works perfectly fine and is always detected when i unplug the USB cord and plug it back in. However, it's a bit of a hassle to have to pull this plug in and out 50% of the time i wish to use it. I have no idea why it's not being detected, or if it is some kind of sign that the thing is breaking.

Has anyone else ever run into weird, quirky recognition bugs like this? It's not exactly a huge problem but it certainly makes me wonder why it's happening. I bought this thing and have used it almost everyday for about a month now.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I have had no problems with my 7 x64 install. Upgrading from an older version of windows to a new one will almost always come with strange quirks. If you have the time I'd definitely recommend backing up your files and doing a clean install.

I did a clean install and still have the exact same problem. Unplugging it and plugging it back in still gets it to be recognized but this is seriously disheartening. This is a new system, i have tried different usb ports, i don't get what the problem is.

Hi all, I've had the exact same issue with a brand new system and have logged a bug with Nvidia. Make sure you all do the same as I was on the support chat line and am being told that this is not a reported issue. I know others have reported it but apparently not enough to cause the Driver DEV team to look into it. This issues seriously bothers the *#&$ out of me so hopefully with enough submissions, something can be done. It seems completely random too, as I have times when I get through a bunch of reboots/power off/ons and it stays GREEN. Then, it just decides to stop...

And you did not bother to post in the "Driver Feedback" thread because......? Nvidias driver team monitors the feedback thread and do not necessarily bother to look thru threads in the user to user forums. https://forums.geforce.com/default/board/33/geforce-drivers/

Try the experiment I posted in a similar thread. (no response over there) Try setting the NVidia Stereoscopic service to a "delayed start". That might allow enough delay for it to power up properly. Start menu, type in "services", right click and run as admin, find NVidia Stereoscopic 3D Driver Service, double click, set Startup type to "Automatic (Delayed start)." Just really curious if this might help startup problems.

Any chance it could be a USB 3.0 vs. USB 2.0 issue? I was having trouble with a webcam due to that a while back.

Thanks for the tips. I'll try out the DELAYED START. It's not a USB issue as I've tried in both 2.0 and 3.0 ports; tried on the motherboard headers and the back panel as well. All produce the same results.
