I'd wait for release.... Gearbox's track record with other IPs is pretty horrible. Last 2 games they bought rights were two well known IPs [Duke Nukem, Aliens] and murdered them. As much as I like borderlands 2 they are kind of a shitty company.

That would be terrible if they murdered this, it's such a classic.
Supposedly if there's enough interest, they will make Homeworld 3.

I passed on the Homeworld games back in the day because I preferred in-cockpit space sims rather than space strategy. But at this point I would probably be interested in this.
Can someone explain to me the difference between Homeworld and Sins of a Solar Empire? Is one better than the other?

Homeworld dripped atmosphere. I would say the word 'desperation' summed up the story. It felt almost spiritual - kinda like the new BSG.
<<< Rose tinted glasses off .
I think it would struggle to stand up today though. Especially with the likes of Sins.
However, if you enjoy story driven Sci-Fi gameplay it might be right up your alley.

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

You've really got the nostalgic juices flowing with the Homeworld news and Dyna-Z, D-Man11. I wonder if any other old timers will remember this function ;)
This is one of those rare times when I am scared to be excited lest the disappointment destroys a very dear part of my childhood.

Story driven and atmospheric? Where do I sign up??
Open-world sandbox style games lose my interest pretty quickly. I've never been past the demo of SOaSE.

Hmmmmm, the name Gearbox in this has scared me off. Pre-ordering is a cancer to the gaming industry and needs to end. We end up with sub par products and incomplete software. Developers/Publishers get away with it because pre-ordering works.
I live by the ol saying, bitten first time, shame on you, bitten second time shame on me.

Yeah, I stopped pre-ordering a while ago. I honestly can't figure out what the purpose of pre-ordering is anymore. Used to, it was almost necessary because the box stores wouldn't carry the game otherwise - there wasn't enough demand for a PC game and they would only ship the console versions to their stores. Nowadays, with most purchases a digital download anyways,... why preorder?
