DARK - stealth game coming soon to steam - Hopefully will work in 3D - looks good
1 / 2
Liking the look of this one, but no idea if it would work in 3D. Im struggling to find much info on the developer or engine used for the game apart from this snippet.
[i]RealmForge is a free, cross-platform game engine written entirely in C# and built upon Axiom, the C# port of the OGRE 3D engine. Graphics APIs:

Prototype with a hint of vampire masquerade[only one character, but vampire setting and diversity of abilities just screams it to me] imo.
It has potential. Prototype doesn't seem appealing by itself but diversity of talents really made it fun. This game seems to have a ton.
I saw in youtube a video a couple of weeks ago (Darks Skills or something like that) and looks very interesting, caught my attention (vampires + stealth = nice)
This is the info i found about the engine: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_(video_game)
The game use "Vision Engine 8", is a new and improved version of the engine...so we will see if is 3D friendly... also the game have some cartoon/anime filter and a lot of DOF. For the video requirements this game will be DX9.

I always promise myself never to pre-order games - and I always ignore my own advice.
DARK - has been pre-ordered, obviously will add to SG as soon as possible after testing
Arghhh Dark has Occulus Rift, SBS, anaglyphe 3D options, but no 3Dvision :(
So it's buggy with 3Dvision (shadows, lightss, shaders) but worth to be patch!

SG was so busy working on the indigomod we missed the release of DARK (i was expecting a friday release) DOH !
It's very much a mixed bag at the moment, but potentially fixable
We will have a video and screenshots up later tonight / friday evening
We have had a little play, and found that using the prototype profile improves the game a little.
It's difficult to recommend this game, as currently a number of issue hamper the experience, namely with lights and the occasional depth issue.
The reviews/comments ive seen all seem less than favorable, but theirs something their that will make me persevere with it - at least for the time being anyway.
a video is currently uploading, but won't be available to view till tomorrow evening.

Steam forums is a cesspool at release of a game especially indie.
TBH, any ambitious indie game not using UDK always gets reamed at release on steam. Only exceptions that come to mind is Orcs must die/torchlight. Id give it a few weeks. Its sad to say but indie developers rely on early money / early buyers as beta testers now adays. Ive read the comments and its mainly bugginess, so give the dev's some time. It sucks but you already spent the money and if you play it now it's probably going to be frustrating. A lot of indie games get frequent patches within first weeks of release. Van Helsing was getting slammed at release and like a week later everyone was happy. Zeno Clash 2 which has very flawed game I will admit but it got like 10 reviews criticize its low FOV before game was released. They fixed it within 3 days of release. Reviews were never updated.
Ill check out video when its up. TBH, any stealth/horror game with broken shadows is something I try to stay away from. Ive fixed shadows but not nearly often enough. I really don't mind shadows not being in games besides those genre's. I played dead space 1 without shadows a long time ago then helix's version and yea... was completely different.

3D vision runs with the 3d type: none.
as mentioned, shadow and light, the usual 3d issues.
however, though, regardless of the issues, the game seems flat in 3D and convergence appears to be locked (or it doesn't do anything).
