I am pretty sure that going forward we will see the majority of people using headsets to play in 3D and this will increase exponentially once the resolution improves. I cant believe nvidia havent released yet anything to make 3D vision games compatible. It is ridiculous and amazing how incompetent and blind the nvidia 3D vision division is! I played hours of Raw Data multiplayer today, and hell there is nothing that can beat the fun and experience of VR. The online multiplayer is a blast in VR and for me, that loves 3D it is just the next level! I showed some friends 3D games before and you could see how they were impressed, but maaaan when someone tries VR for the first time it is just so fun to see their reaction coz they are like, "hell this is not something from this world!!!" A friend of mine just couldnt believe how amazing it was google earth in VR and that is why I am sure the future of VR is very bright!
The never ending story :) It wouldn't do much good if NVidia made 3D Vision VR compatible, most games has a UI that needs to be completely redone if those games would be anything but a pretty sight... From my POW I can see some genres benefit from VR, and for that reason I will pick it up eventually, when it gets better ! But for many subgenres I really don't see the point in wearing diving equipment, take point and click adventures, RTS with a massive UI, many of the Indie titles and so on....
No man!!! You didn't understand, let me explain. I don't mean make the 3D Vision games VR compatible in a sense that you will have tracking/movement, etc. All they need to do is make them compatible to be played on a 3D screen like the VR app Bigscreen that you can see your desktop on a big screen simulating a projector just like those old Sony Personal 3D Viewers (HMZ-T2). The VR headsets would be great for that as I can see a much bigger public that owns a VR playing 3D Vision games that they might not have had the chance in the past.
listen johnnie walker, I had the oculus and I had virtual desktop and whirlgig which allow you present movies and such on a big screen as you described.. I will sum it in 3 words - piece of crap.. come see my 65" oled 4k 3d vision and you will burn your headset in no time.. no game ever will be better on this virtual desktop bullshit.. I had both man.. trust me.. besides.. its ridiculous.. why going virtual on screen? buy one and keep your headset..

Mainly because most people don't have a 3D TV or 3D monitor like we do man, hell most gamers don't even know 3D vision exist! There is a bigger public out there that will have only the headset as the only way to play and view 3D content and this public will only increase going forward! Once the resolution improves it will be a hell of a good solution as it has zero crosstalk!

There is a bigger public out there that will have only the headset as the only way to play and view 3D content and this public will only increase going forward! Once the resolution improves it will be a hell of a good solution as it has zero crosstalk!
You’re right.. that’s where the wind blows but I don’t care where the sheeps go..sheeps don’t have standards, they’re lazy, followed, swallow everything put in their mouths.. compromising ..that’s ok..I guess my life would be much easier being like that.. for now I don’t see in the horizon any improvement in VR (update me if I’m wrong).. So thank god I found this community and bless the amazing genius people fixing games here. Without you I would have probably stop playing games.
I dont think your analogy makes much sense, but well... I think most people just choose the tech that they like the most and find more impressive or fun, not really where the wind blows, but more like what is the coolest thing out there for me to enjoy and have some fun. I think gaming would be pretty dead for me too if it wasnt for this community as I could no longer play in 2D anymore. As we all know and think we all feel too that 3D sort of bring games to life, I'd say. You said you don't see in the horizon any improvements in VR, you might not be following the news. There will be soon a Pimax headset with 4K on each eye and that is from a small chinese company as far as I know, so the tech is getting there and I wonder what the big names like Oculus and Valve will bring us in the next versions. There will also be lots of headsets with the Microsoft tech/standards from all the most known brands, HP, Dell, Samsung, Acer, Asus, etc... man the horizon is FULL of improvements! I just wish nvidia would help this community by bringing support to VR, but they just don't care and never cared for this amazing community! I have never seen a community such as this and it is ridiculous the support we get from nvidia. Unfortunately, I have to say it is sort of a crazy relationship as I hate nvidia just as much as I love 3D Vision :D

Yes, 3D never died for us, but for the public it was dead and for nvidia too.

The never ending story :)

It wouldn't do much good if NVidia made 3D Vision VR compatible, most games has a UI that needs to be completely redone if those games would be anything but a pretty sight...

I am sure this would not be that hard as we can do this with 3dmigoto by changing to SBS very easily.
But as I said, the Nvidia 3D Vision division is either dead or incompetent.

listen johnnie walker, I had the oculus and I had virtual desktop and whirlgig which allow you present movies and such in a big screen as you described..

I never said the VR headset would be better than a 65 oled 4K TV to play 3D Vision games, man your setup is good do not worry ;)
What I said is that it would be an alternative option and a good one!
