Obviously Arkham Knight will probably never be fixed, but I did want to share what I have found to be the best possible existing solution if you want to play in 3d. (These are based on the suggestions offered above, so thanks guys).
Use the Warhammer: End Times Vermintide profile for compatibility mode.

This mod is a pretty elegant solution to adjusting the FOV on the fly. Why is this important? Because the haloing around objects is worse the closer the object is to the camera. Increasing the Field of View enables you to push more convergence while minimizing haloing than you normally would.
Adjusting the convergence any at all WILL create some haloing around Batman, but since he is farther away from the camera using the FOV mod, it can be kept at tolerable levels while still achieving a limited sense of depth.
Sounds like it's been put in the too hard basket. If it's doable it's obviously too time consuming. The game produces different shaders depending on graphics card I heard so it's a nightmare.
To be perfectly honest, I think it is more in the "real life is a bitch" and "lack of motivation and/or time" baskets. Mike was the one who was driving this fix, and enlisted my help to solve the tile lighting issue - but I personally don't have any real interest in the game beyond the technical challenge and therefore very little motivation to push it to completion (and that is even disregarding my mental health issues which just compounded the problem). If Mike was still active in the community I am absolutely certain this would have been finished long ago, but his real life issues (which I'm aware of, but is not my business to divulge) took him away, and my real life issues have since taken me away as well.
If another modder has the motivation to take over and drive this to completion I don't think either Mike or myself would be upset (but, given Mike's involvement no donations can be asked for this game). We both regard this as unfinished business and would like to see it completed, but I'm not sure that either of us will end up being the ones to do that.
I updated the WIP a couple of months ago to correct tile lighting on non-Kepler graphics cards (600/700 Kepler cards use different shaders to 900+ Maxwell/Pascal cards) so I could record a video of it on my 980 to include in the video response to EAC (just before real life took me out again), which is here:
https://github.com/DarkStarSword/3d-fixes/tree/master/Batman
Mike had started updating his scripts to generalise some cases that were causing issues, but that was never completed before his real life issues took him out, so that would still need to be done, or substituted for ShaderRegex. I don't have a copy of his scripts.

Hi DSS!!
Nice to see you around. Hope you are OK/better....best wishes to both of you!!
Seems that you re-fix the clipping/culling i saw in the previous WIP version....very nice!!! Amazing job DSS and mike!!!

I can finish the fix if not one else is interested...now with Regex will be easier if some issues remain. HUD is at screen depth, so that will be the first thing to do.

Thanks for the clarification DSS and to mike and yourself for your work on it thus far. DHR you would be my hero if I finally could put this series to bed complete in 3d. Lets just say any subsequent donations from me to any of you guys (minus Mike due to his stance on things) would be a gesture of thanks for your entire body of work to this community and not this game specifically =x

Good to hear from you guys! My best wishes for both of you! Always a joy to see this community greatest wizards are still there...even if they go silent from time to time due to personal reasons!
Speaking of greatest wizards: Hail DHR for picking this one up (unfortunately I already played it in 2D almost 2 years ago when I got to the point where I was certain it will never be fixed)!

I also been waiting for this game for 3 years by now..LOL
The real heroes for this fix is Mike and DSS!
DSS's fix for clipping/culling is a very advanced fix.
Yesterday i play like 10 minutes to test...there are still some minor issues.....i will convert all those 1100+ manual fixed shaders to Regex, so we will pass to have 1128 shaders in the ShaderFixes folder, to only have like 50....also this will extended the fixing code to more shaders that probably are not fixed (probably this will fix the remaining issues)
Also having too many shaders and that big d3dx.ini lead to crashes when hunting...happens yesterday like 10 times, even a simple mark for the HUD lead to a crash.....not good when you are fixing shaders.

Haven't had much to say/been playing many games of late - but if you guys can get this working fine in 3d it will be immensely appreciated. I was enjoying this game but stopped playing because it just felt too flat compared to the others, without 3d.
Keep up the awesome work guys, you really are amazing.
Now that you mention it, I seem to recall this game having some weird issues when replacing certain shaders (I think rain might have been one of them... something that affected the background/skybox anyway) that required a full game restart to resolve. It didn't make any sense at the time, as I was able to confirm that it happened even when replacing a shader with a binary identical copy of itself. I have fixed a number of shader management issues in 3DMigoto since then, and it might have been one of those, but something to keep an eye out for.

Hi DSS!!
The crashes are because of that big d3dx.ini and too many shaders....i suppose is something related that when you mark or dump a shader all stuff are reloaded again (like pressing F10) and get stuck in the process....too many lines to reloead plus the 1100+ files to compile at once.
Yesterday i convert those decals fixes (1100+ fixed shaders and 3.000+ lines in to 1 Regex (30 lines) and no more crashes when hunting!! (YEAH...Regex is a powerfull tool) Now the game start even faster, 10 - 15 seconds compared to the 1 minute was taking previously.
Update:
The remaining issues was: Some classic Halos, Some bad models and some PS shadows/lights/reflections....This game have the same shaders than the game "Get Even" (except of course those CS Lights/Shadows)....so i know how to fix the models and PS shadows/lights/reflections.
Now all this is covered by 5 Regex... I'm now playing and fixing some variant of shaders not grabed by the Regex, way less work that fixing one by one all those thousand of shaders.....also fix the lensflares/bloom that was disabled in the WIP...and make a quick HUD fix.
