I've been running this rig with windows 7 since late october and running 3d vision with it just fine. I found out today that it is no longer using 120hz and is defaulting to 59hz. Ive tried reinstalling drivers on both the vidcard (EVGA GTX 260), and the monitor (Viewsonic VX2265wm). Also tried using rivatuner to lock the refresh rate but have no experience with it so I really have no idea what i was doing. I did make sure I was using DUal Link DVI as well. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

OK, I got this fixed by going into the nvidia control panel and adding a custom resolution. I didnt edit the timing the first 100 times i tried this, so it wouldn't save it as 120hz, only as 60hz. I edited timing by adding .001 at the bottom right to make it 120.001, which fixed it. I hope this may help anyone who has this issue.

I need to install a monitor driver (.inf file) other then the default before I can choose higher then 85hz refresh rates in a game. I have a lacie electron 22 blue iii connected with a silver serpent cable so I don't get monitor information through that cable, only rgb signals. If I connect it with the original cable i cant get any more then 85hz, even if i install a different monitor driver.

I've seen a few of these posts now where peeps can't get 120hz, or had it and then
lost it.. all with a different configuration of hardware.. which leads me to believe
its a software, most likely driver issue !! maybe something to do with windows 7
as well?
In Vista 32, I had a lot of issues when using a generic CRT to get it to lock refresh rate. The nVidia control panel option never worked. I had to use the tool Refresh Lock. Now that I have an officially supported projector, I never have issues with it not locking to 120hz and do not have to use Refresh Lock.

when i plugged my acer 5360 i couldnt see the resolution for 120hz either just 59hz but i didnt see in nvidia control panel there is 2 different sets of resolutions 1 is for sdtv and hdtv which max's out at 60hz and below which i had to scroll down for was pc would enable 120hz.
