Three 60" Mitsubishi DLP Tv's?

Okay, I've spent about 3 hours searching the web for info on doing this, and haven't found anything that was even close to what I was looking for. Quite surprising really, considering how epic it sounds...and we like epic

I own a 60" Mitsubishi 1080p DLP TV, and I will soon have my new system built and ready to go. Multi-monitor gaming was a must for me (really the main reason for the build), and I decided to go with nVidia for my own reasons.

My question is: Should I buy another two 60" DLP TVs for a total of three in 3DVS? I'm not worried about the money it will cost (I'm not rich, I just saved up for a longgggg time so I COULD go all out like this and not worry about cost), and I have the space. It just scares me that I haven't seen anything about it on the web, even though I don't see why it wouldn't work, but is there a reason no one has done it and I can't find anything on the web?

The main reason I want to do this, aside from the complete obvious (how kick ass it would be) is that I like the thin bezels the mitsubishi TVs have, and I am really impressed with Mitsubishi's line of DLP tvs. Really incredible sets. Is there anything that you guys can help me out with as to why I SHOULD or SHOULDN'T go with this? Because my finger is really itching to click the "Buy Now" button like something awful!

mits dlp are not supported for 3dvs. go for projectors. get away from hd apsect ratios also. look for 4:3 aspect projectors for a better experience in 3dvs.

what do you mean not supported? straight from nvidias website, it says that surround works with all screens that support nvidia 3d vision. then there's this: Designed to work with the new pure Samsung® and ViewSonic® 120 Hz LCD monitors, Mitsubishi® DLP® HDTVs, and the DepthQ HD 3D Projector by Lightspeed Design, Inc, 3D Vision unlocks crystal-clear, flicker-free 3D stereo imagery perfect for driving new experiences in 3D gaming, 3D movies, and 3D photography. so the mits obviously is 3d vision ready, so that would mean it was compatible with surround, right?

That link leads you back to the basic 3D vision supported displays, not tied to 3D surround. Notice how DLP TVs are listed under HDTV and not projector on that page?

The reason why DLP TVs don't work is because each DLP screen needs an external emitter to sync with the glasses.

LCD's and projector have 1 emitter which plugs in to the PC and syncs with all 3 displays while DLP TVs have that 3D Sync port which every TV uses to sync with glasses... As of now, I don't think Nvidia drivers are able to sync 1 pair of glasses with 3 emitters, even if you do get 3 sets of 3D vision and plug 1 emitter base in to each TV.

That link leads you back to the basic 3D vision supported displays, not tied to 3D surround. Notice how DLP TVs are listed under HDTV and not projector on that page?



The reason why DLP TVs don't work is because each DLP screen needs an external emitter to sync with the glasses.

That link leads you back to the basic 3D vision supported displays, not tied to 3D surround. Notice how DLP TVs are listed under HDTV and not projector on that page?

The reason why DLP TVs don't work is because each DLP screen needs an external emitter to sync with the glasses.

LCD's and projector have 1 emitter which plugs in to the PC and syncs with all 3 displays while DLP TVs have that 3D Sync port which every TV uses to sync with glasses... As of now, I don't think Nvidia drivers are able to sync 1 pair of glasses with 3 emitters, even if you do get 3 sets of 3D vision and plug 1 emitter base in to each TV.

You have to consult with someone. Forum like this is not the place to discuss a project like this:

Basically what you want is either 2x 4:3 short throw, or 2x 16:10 long throw, then choose if you want front, or rear projection.

You end up with seamless cinemascope 3d without the checkerboard 3d pattern Mits TV's employ.
