I agree with your assessment and think my best option at this point would be to exchange my 2233RZ for a AW2310. I found an online coupon which makes the purchase price $374.99 w/ free shipping. Based on several opinions I've taken into consideration, I'm going to hold off investing in 3D Vision Surround for now. $1200 for 3 displays on top of the $1100 I've already dropped on the cards is a bit excessive :). Frankly, I'd rather dump the difference into a large 3D plasma or LCD towards the end of the year when the prices dip down around the holidays...

I think the best of both worlds is actually to go with a larger, single display rather than hedging your bets on 3DVS and driver/SLI scaling to improve. If I had the luxury of waiting I might've waited for the 27" Asus 3D panel that's been rumored since January and recently announced, or even considered one of the 40+" 3D capable DLPs.

There's a poster here who is running 3x1680x1050 with the leaked drivers and even though he says most games are playable, he already mentions having to significantly reduce settings in newer games with 2x480s.

GPU utilization is just extremely low in many games to the point you are using both GPU, but utilization is very low, ~50-60% which is very similar to a single 480 in terms of performance. I personally think this is just a driver/Sync issue, but it tends to occur more in DX10/11 titles than DX9 titles, so there may be an API issue at play here too.

I agree with your assessment and think my best option at this point would be to exchange my 2233RZ for a AW2310. I found an online coupon which makes the purchase price $374.99 w/ free shipping. Based on several opinions I've taken into consideration, I'm going to hold off investing in 3D Vision Surround for now. $1200 for 3 displays on top of the $1100 I've already dropped on the cards is a bit excessive :). Frankly, I'd rather dump the difference into a large 3D plasma or LCD towards the end of the year when the prices dip down around the holidays...
