I picked up on something that may help folks with the Playstation 3D Display (or any other active shutter setup). I live in Colorado (Cold) and I set my house's thermostat to maintain 65 degrees, so its a little cool inside, but certainly not frigid. Anyway, for about 1 hour after powering the display up, I get TERRIBLE cross-talk and ghosting... to the point were 3d mode is just unusable. So apparently LCD pixel response time suffers badly from being cold. A quick fix is to simply point a space heater at the monitor for brief moment to warm it up... tried this and cross-talk symptom disappears almost immediately.

Obviously people are getting this to work in a few ways like using the inf file, and while i got that to work and i can now choose between 24h and 60hz im still stuck form that point on, do i need 3dtvplay and if so do i need to buy the software, also do i need the dongle in order for this to work with the playstation tv.
I can get the nvidia test thing to work but im stumped form that point forward, can someone give a deeper directions or help out a little
***
After doing some more research, 3dtv play should make this work regardless if nvidia supports it??, it says with 3dtvplay it now works on 3dtv's, so inst the plastation 3dtv the same thing, if i buy 3dtvplay it should work right? but im still confused about the ir emitter thing and if thats need or not

If you read earlier in the thread you'll find a statement by NVidia that they do not support this monitor with either 3DVision (seperate emitter and glasses) or 3DTVPlay (displays glasses).
People are getting it to work with 3DTV Play by using the hacked inf file, but since it's not officially supported, NVidia could close this loop hole at some point.

This is the problem, people shouldn't be forced to do a half baked work around to get it to kind of work. Nvidia shouldn't be advertising their cards as working with 3d TVs if they are either 1. too greedy to support it or 2. too lazy to do the work. I wouldn't have blown the money on this display if it wasn't for Nvidia in the first place. If people are having to mess around with inf files and such to get it to kind of work, it means it shouldn't be that difficult for them to add professional support and make it work properly and take advantage of the sets capabilities. If they "close the loophole" it just proves they are about the biggest douchebags on the planet. If they aren't going to support it, why would they go to lengths to basically BLOCK it from working at all? I already nixed the idea of buying a second Nvidia card and running SLI because of this experience, and if this is how Nvidia typically does business they are in for a wake up call because there has to be a lot of consumers out there they will start felling the way I do. Who knows AMD my be worse and I might have the same experience with them, but next time I buy a card it won't be Nvidia because it's about the only thing I can do as a consumer to spite them.

but like you all said there is a workaround and people are getting it to work, just they dont explain it well enough so its hard to fully figure out, but yeah if it can be done then nvidia are douches for not fixing it, why do they say 3dtvplay is meant for all 3d tv's so all 3dtv's can work but yet it isnt supported, very weird stuff, but like i said if the workaround works then fine, i did the inf thing so thats done, i just dont know what to do from that point on.
the test works but i cant get 3dvisionlive to work and dont know if i should install(purchase)3dtvplay from nvidia
i doubt they will block at as the beta drivers also let you set your pc to recognize the ps 3dtv.
at this point i dont have the patience to worry about nvidia doing something, i just care that you guys got a workaround, bless you all but somoene please help with better directions becuase this seems to be the only place on the net with real answers to this issue.
my laptop has 3dtvplay, doesnt say anything about not working with certain tv's, so not sure why it owuld matter with this one, i undertsand vision might not be supported but 3dtvplay is suppose to work with any tv. this still ocnfuses me.

Using the .inf file to update the driver for the Playstation 3D Display I have been able to play numerous games in 3D without a hitch, however, DiRT 3 and Burnout Paradise will not display at a resolution of 1280x720. All I get when I change the resolution is a black screen which then causes the display to lose it's signal and shut off. This happens with and without 3D enabled. In DiRT 3's case I can only play in a window at any resolution.
If someone has access to these games could you test them to see if it is an isolated case or not. Obviously, considering this display is not officially supported there are going to be some issues but it drives me a bit crazy nonetheless.
System specs include a 460 GTX with the Beta 290.53 display drivers on Windows Vista 64.

Okay so Im a lil confused about all this. Im new to this 3d on pc thing, so forgive my ignorance but the first day i plugged the display up, i loaded crysis 2 wit every thing maxxed out and selected the 3d option. I got two images side by side.so i pressed the 3d button on the tv till it went SbS, turned on the glasses and voila 3d, or what i thought was 3d... also loaded up some Sbs vids on the net (vudu, youtube) and those were 3d too, (oh and a 3dxstar vid worked fine too;). So basically my question is was that not true 3d cause it looked fine.to me, but cant get 3dtvplay to work.

I have been successful with the following games that I have tried in 3D with either 3DTV Play or native 3D support...
Alice Madness Returns
Borderlands
Bulletstorm
Crysis 2
FarCry 2
Halo: Combat Evolved
James Cameron's Avatar(while certainly not the greatest game in terms of gameplay variety it is simply incredible in 3D)
Mafia 2
Metro 2033
Renegade Ops
Sega Rally Revo
Skyrim
Sonic Generations
The Witcher 2
Tomb Raider Underworld
...and unsuccessful with the following games as they will not run in 720P with the modded .inf driver file...
Burnout Paradise
Call of Duty Black Ops
DiRT 3
Like I said before if someone has access to those games could you attempt to run them at 1280x720, 60, to see if it is an isolated case or not.
Some other info I would like to find out if it is the same for others using the modded .inf driver is the name of the monitor in the nVidia Control Panel(it list as the DENON, Ltd DENON-AVAMP in mine) and also the available resolutions that are listed(I have 1080P listed in the HD 3D section and also 720P but the refresh rate only goes up to 59 in 720P although I think that is a Windows error of sorts, in the HD, SD section the closest thing to 720P is 1176x664 which is not supported by 3DTV Play).
The strange thing is I have successfully ran numerous games in 3D at 1280x720 and a 60 refresh rate.
I should also add that my other monitor, HP w2408, and HDTV, Sony 34XBR960, runs all the games I have at all available resolutions without a problem with my GTX 460 under Windows Vista 64.
I really hope they add official support for this display in the future.

After further testing I have come to the conclusion that the source of my problem is in fact the 59 Hz refresh rate at 720p.
I have found other users with the same problem concerning the modded .inf for the display as it refuses to allow a full 60 Hz option. I have also tried other .inf drivers with the same results of being limited to 59 Hz at 720p.
After uninstalling the modded .inf, rebooting, and allowing windows to install a driver for the display it shows up correctly as the "SCEI Monitor" which does have a 720p and 60 Hz refresh rate and plays all the games I was having a problem with just fine at 720p or any other resolution. This, obviously, does not allow for 3D play hence the need for the modded .inf driver in the first place but it did narrow down my problem with a few games.
Still, the puzzling thing is 95% of the games I have tried so far using the modded .inf driver and 3DTV Play have performed perfectly fine.
Looks like the the only way this will probably be solved is if the display becomes officially supported at some point which has been stated that there are no plans to do so, at least yet anyways.

Did anyone managed to get 2D refresh rate to at least 120hz? thanks..
[/quote]
This monitor does not support 120Hz refresh rate in 2D as it does not have true 120Hz input signaling capabilities.
I have the 285.66 display driver that came along with my EVGA GTX 560ti Superclocked and manage to play Mass Effect with a degree of 3d.. I can run all of the tests and the spinning nvidia logo / name definitely are 3d, but what I can't do is modify any of my settings. Also, the overlay and game profiles are missing.. even when I launch a supported game the hotkey to show the profile overlay (ctrl + alt + insert) does nothing.
I'm running everything at 720p 60hz through hdmi
If only I could change the depth and see game profiles now..

This monitor does not support 120Hz refresh rate in 2D as it does not have true 120Hz input signaling capabilities.
