I will give this a try.. Hopefully It works on my vizio XVT3D474SV.
btw, does this only work on passive 3d tv or active 3dtv too?
Mine is active 3d tv and unfortunately, I don't have time to test it till wednesday due to final exam at school. :(

I have a VIZIO M3D421SR; the only option in 3D are SBS, Top and Bottom, and Sensio.

Does anyone have any ideas how I could do better than the 3DTV 720p60hz framepacking or 1080p24hz 3D gaming? Or am I out of luck?

Thanks for any help!!

Edit: Well, it appears that with Tri-Def I can do 1080p at 60hz SBS. Is framepacking all-together a different type of 3D technique than SBS? What am I losing by doing 3d at 1080p using my TV's SBS through Tri-Def as compared to using 3DTV?

Thanks again! This world of home 3D really is something new for me.

You are displaying it at 1080i.If it looks better stick with it.
I been trying to find a projector with 1080i or checkerboard that has been confirmed to work with ddd/3d tv play.

hi guys

Saw that the 3dtv play fix is having the same problem we had with the 800p 3d projector fix, the red writing overlay with an error message on it. i found away to fix it so hopefully it works for you guys to /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

you'll need PE Explorer

once downloaded and installed you'll need to open the file nvstres.dll

Mine was located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\3D Vision"

Go to the button called Resource Viewer\Editor and click it, open the folder bitmap and find 201. open 201 there should be an open file button next to replacement source. download the attached 201.bmp and use it as the replacement source.

go to file and save the file as nvstres1.dll. once saved rename the original nvstres.dll to nvstres.dll.old and rename nvstres1.dll to nvstres.dll

disable and enable the 3d in the nvidia control panel

ill attach the modified nvstres.dll for driver 285.62

Note: this will remove all of nvidia OSD

Enjoy

"The solution created by Texas Instruments maintains both the vertical and the horizontal resolution. This solution thus produces the highest quality and highest resolution displays available for stereoscopic viewing."
IMO I don't believe this to be true. Even using the example given in the PDF, common sense shows checkerboard to have half of the horizontal resolution of a full 1080x1920 image.

The trick to the great image it produces is in the interpolation used to fill in the missing pixels.
In SBS mode for example, you cut the horizontal resolution by removing every other column of pixels. The interpolator then only has the pixel to the left and right to use to "guess" what goes in the middle. With checkerboard every other pixel is removed horizontally also, but each row is alternated between odd and even pixels removed, resulting in a checkerboard pattern, not alternating columns of pixels and blanks like SBS produces. The interpolator now has pixels on both sides and top and bottom to use to restore the missing pixel in the middle.

The image quality of checkerboard is better than SBS or TB for that reason and is very close to true 1080x1920. So until they up frame packing to 1080p60 or release faster HDMI chips, checkerboard is still the best 3D gaming format that is available for televisions today.

This should help a lot of people out, especially given the CRT problems with the latest drivers...

It looks like we could edit the 3D crosshairs to, Great work hatharry! /thanks.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thanks:' />

Hello.
I've been reading all the information the forum but not if the rollermod can work on my lg lw650s passive.
I have tested with rollermod, but only I get the option in which is shown in red and cyan. I only have my tv and passive glasses do not know if I need something more.
If it works in the LG lw5700, in theory should work well on my tv right?
Thanks in advance.
Sorry for my bad English.

My TV is 2011. In the TV remote control comes from the 3D button you can select various options for 3d, and one of them is checkerboard.
Thank you very much.
