why am i getting grainy picture with scanlines with 3D?
What the heck is going on with my setup.
I bought a samsung and 3d vision kit from Futureshop which worked perfectly. I found it alot cheaper at NCIX, so I returned it to futureshop and bought it from NCIX. Now my "new" setup is giving me grainy looking textures with visible scanlines. I have the same drivers and haven't changed anything in my setup but now I see scanlines on every texture. This is really annoying me. Why would my new setup have such a defect. Will Samsung replace my monitor? I really don't wan't to pay shipping to return it to NCIX. Anyone else have this issue? I wen't from playing in cyrstal clear HD 3D to playing on a low res tv with visible scanlines (thats what it looks like) If I didn't know any better I would have written off 3D vision, but I know it can look clear without grain and visible textures. Thanks guys.

Are you talking about when not using them in a game? If i dont want to play a game in 3D at all i will stop the nvidia stereoscopic service before loading the game, otherwise i get full brightness and slight scanlines due to the way the driver/monitor processes for 3d shutter glasses.

Yes it's games only and only when stereo is enabled. When I disable stereo I don't get any scanlines. The thing is that the first monitor didn't have any scanlines in stereo, so when I hooked up the new one and noticed how crappy it looked I was pretty upset. All you guys who have scanlines have a defective monitor. Why would you choose to keep something that doesn't work properly? I'm gonna call samsung to see what they can do.

Please, I am (and I guess the rest of affected people) VERY interested in your experience with samsung, what they say, if they accept a RMA, etc. Please, keep posting here your experiences. Maybe it could be interesting to post your advances in the main topic about grainy texture, only to keep things in the same topic. Only a suggestion though, as you want.
Thanks
PD. Are you REALLY sure that in the first one it wasn't there? In fact, I didn't notice it until some weeks after purchase, I was mainly looking to the 'nice' effect of 3D and looking for eventual ghosting. Only when these effects/concerns faded out a little, I noticed the grainy texture...

I've been asking myselft that same question. I wish I had both at the same time to test it. It just seemed to be noticable the day I set up the new Samsung. I really don't think the first one had the issue, but you might be right that I was so into the 3D effect that I never noticed. I find that if I sit back a little from the screen the scanlines aren't really visible, but im normally used to a 32" monitor and a 110" projection, so I can't help but stick my face closer to the screen  The monitor I have now also has really bad backlight bleeding, so I may start an RMA with Samsung and I'll keep you guys informed.
