Best News: HDMI 1.3 is able to handle with 3D-BD ( PS3 will also support 3D-BD) and the used VideoCodec is VERY efficient, so that a firmware-Update for older players (with HDMI 1.3) could make them 3D-Ready :-)
But of course, not all will make a firmware-update, new players brings more money - AND OF COURSE: you'll need a new 3D-Ready TV !!!

Yes and No ... they will be compatible with this, if they are able to do the specs.
1080p for each eye and HDMI 1.3a ... so: TV's with interlaced 3D don't will get the 3D-ready sign ( because they have no 1080p for each eye displayed ) !!!
ComputerMonitors must be able to take 1080p by 48hz too - how they work with it is another thing ... ( Thinking of Zalman and Hyundai !!! IZ3D will maybe get it, because he uses 2 panels with FullHD resolution !!! )
BUT: It is thing of the developers, how the TV's and Monitors handle with the 3D BD's ...
important is the BD-Player: Players must be able, to send 1080p by 48hz ( 1080p by 24hz for each eye ) to the FullHD 3D TV ... what happens in the panel ( upsample to 240hz, upsample to 120hz - shutterglasses, x-Pol and so on ) is thing of the ProductLine ( Sony will have other ways to display 3D as Phillips and Samsung ... they are very free in the way of working with 3D BD's [ 1080p 48hz ] )
I personally think, that in the computersector a new revision of the new Acer 3D Displays will be 3D Ready ... the Samsung and the Viewsonic will be able to show 3D BD's too, but just softwarebased !!!
And in the TV-Sector: DLP will not longer be supported and run out of the Specs, the new Beamers will be able to show 3D with 3D Vision only and at the End JUST NEWER TV's will become 3D Ready Out Of The Box - don't forget: it's a selling based market with target on MoneyMaking !!!
I said that before: the software players will be the rescue for our today's computer equipment with 3D Vision !!! !!! !!! Without Cyberlink's Power DVD supporting 3D Vision there will be no 3D BD on our Samsung 2233RZ and the ViewSonic Model - until Nvidia releases a selfmade Player that supports 3D BD !!! And that of course must be lincensed to the MPEG4-MVC Codec ... !

Just because it doesn't meet spec doesn't mean it won't work somehow, right? I mean, refresh rates are still king with DLP and nothing can beat it on refresh rates. All you need is a software player to support it. My guess is maybe it wouldn't work with a PS/3 because they won't bother supporting it.

From the press release the Blu-Ray 3D spec does not define any type of display requirement.
The only thing that is mentionned is that the decoder (blu-ray hardware player of software) must be able to read the 1080p MPEG4-AVC-MVC stream, but then can do pretty much anything they want (i guess : provided it supports HDCP encryption).
For display support it will be up to the BluRay 3D player manufacturer (or programmer) to decide which type of display they want to support.
Just as a reminder :
nvidia HAS NOT ANNOUNCED that 3D vision users will be able to play BluRay 3D.
What nvidia said was :
-"We support hardware decoding of H264/MPEG4 AVC-MVC" on a third party software (which you have to pay for)
and
-"We demonstrated it working on one 1080p 120Hz display (which brand and model number was not disclosed in the press release) and 3D-vision glasses"

not likely but I would think one of the companies that makes software bluray players will.

Blu-Ray 3D support will be available from Arcsoft (TotalMedia Theatre), Corel (WinDVD), Cyberlink (PowerDVD Ultra) and Sonic (Roxio CinePlayer BD). These are the companies and software products that Nvidia worked with for GPU acceleration and has announced so far, but no word if some or all of these will support 3D Vision... supposedly they all should support 3D Vision and other more popular Sterescopic 3D display technologies, but we'll have to wait and see that.
As for the 120Hz displays used for demonstrations in front of journalists, Nvidia has used Acer's GD245HQ which is actually the first 1080p 120Hz LCD.
