Vision 3D top of screen severe ghosting
  22 / 31
There are a lot of theories because there are a lot of causes.

1. The monitor might not have completely erased the old image when the time comes to show the new image.
2. The glasses might not be getting completely dark in time (or may be starting to go transparent too early), allowing the wrong eye to see part of the image.
3. The internal timing may get off whack so the glasses and/or screen are not synchronized. This could be caused by bugs in the driver or the OS just not being able to get to the communication message in time.
4. Infrared interference might be making it so the glasses fail to switch when they should.

And, of course, you can have any or all of the above.

The problem is diagnostics. How the Hades are we supposed to figure out which one(s) are causing the problems? How can NVidia/monitor/os/game support people diagnose the problems? I might be able to root out a few (if you get ghosting when you've got a blue object against a somewhat lighter blue background, then it's not likely to be #1). Without another 3D setup to swap parts with, it's going to be very hard to figure these things out.

That's hardly a new thing in computers. "When I play SuperCoolGame it seems fine for about five or ten minutes, then crashes." Is that a bug in the game? A video or sound driver bug? An OS bug? A bad sector on a hard drive? Some memory (video or main) going bad? The computer overheating - most likely from dust buildup? A video card that just isn't capable of doing what the game is asking? The swap file filling up? Digital protection pulling something stupid? FRAPS/XFire/WeGame interferance? Some virus (or virus scanner) causing craziness?
What driver solved your ghosting ?
I am currently using: 197.90-Quadro-winxp-64bit-english-whql.exe, with Quadro_3D_Vision_197.03_USB_driver.exe. I run XP 64 bit on a quadroFX 3700. Quad buffered openGL stereo in a window doesn't ghost anymore. I tried setting up the newest drivers and everything went back to ghosting an was pretty unstable.... I reverted back to the older drivers and I'll stick with it for a while because it works... why mess with it. I have no idea why it works anymore....to many converging possibilities to be sure of any of it for me. It works, I smile. I will figure out a way to break it again soon enough.

Finally read through the 300+ posts, but did not find any solution to Ulrik28´s problem.

Well i have the very same problem with my LG W2363D monitor 15-20% of my top screen doesnt not show proper 3D effect. When watching with only one eye open in either left or right through the glasses i can see that it "Bleeds" the "shadow" of the image (darker area over lighter area) doesent show true 3D Aka: Ghosting. And i wont accept that it is a hardware problem. The reason i would say something like this is because i have experienced that it can be solved.

This is what i did:
uninstalled the driver again , first in windows true configuration add/remove programs.
Then reboot in safe mode and use driversweeper.
Reboot and run CCleaner.
Download latest full NVIDIA DRIVER v1.34 http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce...ta-driver.html

Open the folder and install driver and then open the "stereo" folder and run this.
If the nvidia usb driver is missing there is also a folder "usb" with this driver.

When i did this it didnt work at all, still had the same problem, but one day my friend came by and i wanted to show him the coolness of 3D and wanted to show him the problem with the top of the screen aswell. He had a game with him called Need For Speed: Shift wich we installed and i did something with the 3D setting that i CANT REMEMBER for the love of god! And the 3D was working properly!!! No ghosting on the top of the screen!

Why cant i remember what i did?? Well i am sure i was using 120hz as it is supposed to be running in.

Anyone know what driver has the best compability for this monitor and also what 3D driver or what it is called? I am all out if ideas, have tried almost everything.
Got any solution for this problem?

Peace

I have the same problem on a Asus VG236H . I've tried 4 different nvidia chipsets on 3 different computers . Fresh Win 7 and Vista , 6 different drivers , all kind of BIOS settings and configurations ,numerous USB cables and ports .
Is this a thing that everybody has and the majority just ignore it ? Is there anybody out there that doesn't have this problem on a LCD display ( Acer ,Samsung , LG ) . I just want to know if its worth the hassle to return this system and get a new one , or should I just get used to the idea because all of them have the same problem .

Anybody found out how to adjust the duty cycle for these glasses ?

I think you will find all monitors do it, there are a few people that reckon theirs doesnt but ita hard thing to prove, i have the samsung 2233rz and it didnt do it when i first got it, but after a couple of weeks i got the seperation at the top of the screen, im fine with ignoring it though, most games there is no need to look up there anyway, lol.

Only take it back if you intend on getting a projector, i hear this problem doesnt exist on projectors and DLP TV's.
