You forgot the part where they added the option to alter the Witcher's hairstyle.

Well tbh I don't think this game is going to be fixed....not now...not later... They started working for Shietbox 390 instead of fixing the damn game (maybe its too hard or dont know). Instead we get dlcs like as* hair, leg hair and cloths not to run around naked.....big dissapointement....really....HUGE

"NVIDIA is also working with The Witcher 2 game developers to resolve the root issue when using 3D Vision. Please check back for new driver release information."
A lot of the outcry is simply about the fact that the game is rated as 3D Ready, a designation less that a dozen titles have and yet the only way to get a decent experience playing it is to uninstall the 3DVision driver.
If not false advertising it's certainly disingenuous.

islamic texture > 3D Vision

Well, this does make sense, at least in the world as it is right now.
A bunch of people like us can rant till the end of time with no real result. Maybe if we cried loud enough in this thread we could make one of the servers scratch itself from all the bytes running around.
On the other hand, if a dozen of mindwashed retards do as much as raising a finger, claiming that something goes against their race/religious belief, no matter how silly it is it will surely be on the news in a matter of days.
Even though I totally and completely despise those who bend before such examples of dead-end evolution, it's only a matter of time before an equally retarded tv stations claims that the game is a racist mess, hellbent on hailing the coming of the Antichrist against the Mighty America and the Catholic Church. Obviously, most people who dare to follow such channels are those parents who will buy their children the game. You can easily see where this is all heading to.
It's happend before, and it's a common occurrence even with movies and anime.
All of this just to say that, if CDP made one good thing, was to instantly fix the issue with the carpets.

Of course, it could be that it's trivial to replace those textures while doing something different to detect 3D will take a lot of work.
Actually, this might be a good time for NVIDIA to tell us just what "3D Vision Ready" means for games. The way it's presented in the compatibility list makes you think the game must be flawless but, as we've seen before, that ain't it. It seems to mean "the game understands that there is something called S3D and tries to do something about it" without any regard to the end result.

Strong statement, but one that one has some truth I am afraid. Not relative to Witcher 2 though, don't flame or inflame something that is not there. religious context is absent in this game, you wanna attack some - go for AC2 or the whole series. otherwise just stop.

Can you define playable? How many FPS do you have in indoor locations?:D
Right, playtested a few saves - I deleted the old. Tried it on 1.1. Medium GFX. I don't have fraps so this is based on if the controls are rapid and movement fluid. Usually I play on über - without SSAO (because there is bleeding, i.e. too much) and anti-aliasing (I don't really see that many jaggies so I rather have the uber sampling on and anti off). I can turn them on without too much FPS loss, but I really don't like the "over the top" SSAO effect, and if I can gain a few FPS by turning off anti-a I rather do that since I am not bothered.
I am off to work soon so I just loaded some of the saves I had.
1. When searching and fighting a wraith in the mountains gravechambers I had an easy flowing experience and killed it easily. The game was responsive and no stuttering.
2. While in Philippa Eilharts house I did notice that I lost some FPS because there was some slight stuttering when turning around - I could not try out any fighting sequence since I did not have any saves handy or missions. Will search for such a place when I get back from work.
3. Tried starting a new game. The dungeon sequence had a slight micro stuttering. No time to play through, will do later.
My machine is a quadcore 4.2GHz watercooled. A 275GTX that I have not watercooled yet (the block is beside me :P ). I turn off just about everything except Commodo virus/firewall - but Windows defender, firewall, securitycenter and all other non essential services are off, including Desktop. Starting the game through the taskmanager.
On medium settings I would say it is playable, but I can see that there is a problem with indoor locations. I too hope that CDP removes the constant check if it would help for FPS. Possibly my high OC helps with the overhead checking for 3Dvision and that is why it is playable for me.

Thanks for the info!!!
I am playing the game on a Quad Core @ 3.6Ghz on a GTX590 in 2D/3D Surround.
Now I have observed there is no difference between 3D on 3 monitors and 3D on 1 monitor. The FPS are the same around 25-40 outside and 5-10 inside. (using ultra settings with ubersampling off). When playing the game with the exact same settings in 2D I get 25-50 outside and 30-50 inside....
One interesting thing I noticed: In 2D if Iset ubersampling to ON I get the same RESULTS like I would play in 3D with ubersampling OFF. (same FPS). Could it be...then when 3D is activated somehow the game turns automatically ubersampling ON? this could explain the loss of performance.....

Apart from this annoying 3D Vision issue, I'm finding fps quite disappointing in 2D especially as the game doesn't use more than 20% of CPU power and 60% of my GPUs. Not to mention having to turn off second monitor when I play it as it doesn't trap the mouse within the game - causing frequent minimising when I accidentally click outside of it.

Hmmm. Just got home and on my way out again (man, do one really have to socialize with real people :P ). That is some terrible FPS for indoors, I would guess mine are the same if I play on uber settings. But it is when you are hit with stuttering and unresponsive keys when the game become unplayable. I'm fine if it is 20-25FPS IF there smooth as butter (but usually a higher framerate gives you less stuttering because having a low one show there is a problem).
What do you think about the meshes? It feels like a cardbox world to me, well sometimes.
I usually modd the crap out of my games so I have to trim my computer, and I know I want the FPS to be above 20 with as little stuttering as possible, then I am fine.
On moderate I would hazzard a guess that outside I got 40+ FPS (it's hard to know above 30) and inside 15-20 (when it's real bad), but with problems with microstuttering - which I hate.
Before the Nvida patches the game was totally unplayable - like 1-3FPS for me. When I turn off the Nvida 3D service it is all fine. Now it works allot better, I could even play with it if I was fine with playing on medium.
I hope that CDP can chunk in the fixes in a patch soon to arrive, wouldn't mind playing in 3D with über settings.
Hmmm, maybe I'll chunk on my waterblock for the GFX and overclock. It is a pretty decent 275GTX. 1756MB mem and 715MHZ core 1550shader and 1260memory. Usually with a waterblock the temp gets over 40 degrees Celsius less!

Well, some performance advice. If you're after fps improvement, disable SSAO, because you'll gain almost double fps. Most game options won't make any difference in performance. Playing at ultra without ubersampling, or playing at medium the performance is almost the same. Also SSAO doesn't make much difference visually.

Cheers!
