  75 / 167
Hey guys,

Having trouble with Dead Space 2 fix. It crashes my game before any logo's are displayed. I found the fix of Helix Mod site(absoutley awesome)and dropped the files into E:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\dead space 2.

Attached is the log file.
I am using Steam version and switched off 'Enable Steam Community In-Game'

Any help be really appreciated

Cheers

Are you using xfire, fps tracking(fraps), evga precision, etc. If so disable.

Thank you, ya got me thinking, I use AMBX speakers, you know they change colour to whats on screen. Well I do remember this app causing issues with Mass Effect 3. So disabled and tried again and it worked.. so many thanks for giving me an idea...

Hi guys,

Trying the Mass Effect 3 fix and it seems like it only partially works for me. I can see that the shadows are fixed (shadows are doubled without glasses) but the crosshair is not lining up for me in 3D. If I aim down the sights it's never exactly where the crosshair is. It's always to the right or left. Should I be using the nvidia crosshair and how do u disable the in game one? I am playing with lots of pop out and pretty good amount of depth.

Just tried the nvidia crosshair and it's only rendering in 2d? The one in the game has seperation and is rendered in 3D but it's always at the same seperation no matter what I'm looking at in the game. So obviously something is messed up.

@conan
I cant test and am too lazy to rewrite it the right way. Try this, it should knock it off the screen.[attachment=25515:44D42C54.txt] Put in your shaderoverride/vertexshaders folder.
If nvidia crosshair isnt working can't help you.

SELF SHADOWS MAKE ME WANT TO SCREAM....that is all.

@mana84
Have you ever fixed self shadows? I fixed shadows in a game but it seems self shadows / shadows are seperate. I cant seem to find any convergence adjustment that would allow it to work. I am pretty sure that means only thing to do with it is remove it. Just checking before I do it.

This is really weird. The nvidia cross hair works in other games just fine but in Mass Effect 3 it renders 2D. The fix worked for getting rid of the mass effect 3 crosshair but the Nvidia one is also unusable. I guess I can just adjust for the busted crosshair but I would think that I can't be the only one with this problem.

While the 3D crosshair works in the game with the fix. It is rendering at the wrong depth and it's impossible to focus on it.

Download an OLD driver. I am guessing you got me3 to work by deleting nvidia profile?

It might be everyone. Most people are fine with helix's crosshair. It just takes some time to adjust.

I think I found the problem. I'm running 3D vision surround and I'm also using widescreen fixer. This seems to mess up the crosshair. If I play at the default FOV (which is really zoomed in and sucks) then the crosshair works. If I change the FOV then it messes up. I guess this is a side effect of widescreen fixer and not Helix fix.

@conan48:
I got the same problem with mass effect 2 and nvidia crosshair using fullsize windowed mode, in fullscreen worked fine... there's something in the game that messed up nvidia's crosshair in other modes than exclusive fullscreen mode.

@eqzitara:
unfortunately selfshadows can be a big deal... often you don't have access to the needed coordinate system and you cannot fix them... if you attach it here I'll give it a look.

Msg helifax.(not helix) He seems to be ontop of that stuff.

This is my shadow issue. Totally fixed casted shadows however "self shadows" are all over the place.

I'm not at home today, I'll give it a look tomorrow and make you know, I've just fastly looked at the image and the shaders and I think I should (hopefully) be able to fix them.

ty. I forgot to remove the part about v1 texcoord in pixelshader(added but didnt need) and I included wrong vertexshader -_- [attachment=25517:1E350CDE.txt]
The game is The Last Remnant. Game is surprisingly beautiful. Like FPS graphics in a large scale rpg. Figured its time to give JRPGers some loving lol and fix ALL of their games(all one of them). Their is a demo available. http://downloads.guru3d.com/The-Last-Remnant-Game-Demo-%7C-PC-download-2201.html
I will disable it in meantime and fix other issues.
In combat. I got shadows working perfectly. Outside of combat nope.

@eqzitara:
finally I'm here, I've just tried the game demo with your shaders and it seems to be the same issue I had with mass effect 1 and I wasn't able to fix it... I've got some ideas meantime, I think we should find an additional shader to fix that shadows completely.. if you look carefully, you can see a white and a black character's silhouette near his sides, that should be sort of the enlightened and the darkened parts of the character at wrong depth and we should reposition them on the character, but if you try you can't move them with any of the founded shaders. I've not found a solution yet but I'll try to help you as soon as possible, and meantime I'm trying to help DHR with binary domain too..

Don't worry about it too much tbh. I found the game extremely boring lol. I was only going to play through it if I fixed shadows. I forgot how much I hate jrpgs....
