Rise of the Tomb Raider 2016 - 3D Vision Fix
  31 / 50
Yep, 2160p is too taxing for the 980Ti on this game. This strange problem is maddening because 1440p still looks awesome and on 2 locations (1 gunfight and 1 temple tomb) I had the 3D crosshair working and without reloading anything, perhaps just after a video, 3d crosshair becomes 2D again :((((??? But I prefer very high textures, max settings and FPS, so I still play in 1440p with 2D crosshair ;)

I wonder why the Depth Buffer returns zero (0) at that resolution... Hmmm

Hmmm
Hey Helifax, funny you should mention your surround res's - I had recently dropped the res down from 5760 x 1080 to 41xx x 768 (can't quite remember the width) in order to play without slow downs on maxed settings. While I love having all the sliders maxed the resolution difference is HUGE! So, I started to look for a way to create a custom res that would be more of a compromise, something more in between the 5760 and the 41xx width. Didn't find much of anything, and have thought for a while now that the inability of being able to create a custom res in surround was a major bummer, but haven't had a game yet (with current rig) that I have needed/felt the need to go lower than 5860/5760. Now, I am sure it's your hardware/display's/config that are allowing the res you mention of 4800 x 900, but this would be a perfect res for me! In short, is there a trick I can use to create/force a custom surround res? I am sure not, but if anyone would know, it would be you. Thanks, still just loving the fix and the game overall is awesome! ~Nutz

Hi Nutz. You can tweak the Surround Resolutions using NVPanel and the Surround Menu. Sadly it doesn't allow you to type in your custom resolution but it provides a big list of resolutions for your monitors. (Some of them are really weird though ^_^). See this post here where I showed someone else how to do it: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/919928/3d-vision/rise-of-the-tomb-raider-2016-3d-vision-fix/post/4823390/#4823390 Cheers;)

Out of curiosity... is the aspect ratio different than 16/9 on your Display? is it 21:9 or something? I had some code there that was looking for 16/9 and above (above meant surround resolutions ^_^ but I think I removed it as it was a "temporary hack")

When I see a 2D cursor, I am using 2560x1440 (16:9 ratio) in-game resolution and full-screen override (with GPU scaling), enabled via NVIDIA control panel - with 4K EDID override under Windows 10. Like chtiblue, I prefer max graphics settings and a little lower screen resolution setting providing acceptable performance.

Apologies in advance for any naivety but I am disappointed that at one point this fix was working and looked flawless. Recently GPU drivers were updated and now the 3D effect just looks wrong. I have since uninstalled the fix (using batch file). Re-installed most recent driver (clean). Imported NIP and extracted most recent fix to game dir. Sill producing strange 3D (like mixed 3D/2D or something, some lighting only visible through one eye). I still don't understand all the Migoto biz... is this something that I need to install? I have visited the link and see similar files in the archive to the fix so am confused regarding this. I have looked back through pages of this thread as well as opening post... I don't see any changes in installation procedure. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. -Brian

It seems that if DX12 is activated in Tomb Raider leaves enable 3D in the game ... Nvidia DX12 and 3D Vision will be incompatible?

There is even a video tutorial on how to use that method. Also make sure you are on the CORRECT game version and not the latest one. Afterwards be sure to disable the Compatibility Mode (CTRL+ALT+F11).

It seems that if DX12 is activated in Tomb Raider leaves enable 3D in the game ... Nvidia DX12 and 3D Vision will be incompatible?

If you read the original post, you would have noticed that this fix requires a special game version. In that version there isn't a DX12 renderer...

1x Palit RTX 2080Ti Pro Gaming OC(watercooled and overclocked to hell)
3x 3D Vision Ready Asus VG278HE monitors (5760x1080).
Intel i9 9900K (overclocked to 5.3 and watercooled ofc).
Asus Maximus XI Hero Mobo.
16 GB Team Group T-Force Dark Pro DDR4 @ 3600.
Lots of Disks:
- Raid 0 - 256GB Sandisk Extreme SSD.
- Raid 0 - WD Black - 2TB.
- SanDisk SSD PLUS 480 GB.
- Intel 760p 256GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD.
Creative Sound Blaster Z.
Windows 10 x64 Pro.
etc
