I say this because I love 3d gaming - and am obviously a fan of helix, because of his work.
I notice that 3dizzy or whatever, makes regular posts here, about how great various games work in 3d.
But, when I go to the site, I see great videos and no way to log in - both fine I suppose.
But the infuriating thing is, that he gives no knowledge of how he gets these games to work!
(zilch - unless you can give me a link)
And if he is using helix's fix's (!) - then surely he deserves at least one mention!
Are 3dizzy a bunch of show offs? Have you seen the site? What do you think?
I think the point to 3Dizzy’s site is to allow you to see how most games work in 3D ‘out of the box’
I'm not entirely sure he ever does much too them, mod wise, he just generally tweaks the depth and convergence as well as usual in game settings.
I do agree that it’s a bit strange that he doesn’t provide the details of how he reached the results – he’s missing a trick there, since it adds a lot of value and shouldn’t take him too long.
I don’t think that he does it to show off, it’s to provide a helpful service and hopefully allow people to make educated choices on what games to buy and which ones to avoid.

not everyone here uses Nvidia 3D exclusively. I do myself, cuz i prefer the easy life and i have SLI, but others use whatever means they can to play a game they love in 3D.
Think about how much time and effort has been put into getting Skyrim working acceptably. Sometimes the answer is simply to use tridef as Nvidias solution will never work.
I dont visit his site very often, but when I do its to check how a game i am interested in fares in 3D. what ive seen there has influenced a few of my purchases.
Havent been there for a while, but if his site has a lot of advertising on it, I assume its to pay for the hosting and new games that come out?
everyones entitled to their own personal opinions about someone though, so I will leave you to yours !

I only buy 3D compatible games. If I see a video(on youtube or on 3Dizzys site) of a game I am interested in, working with 3D vision drivers, then I will likely buy it. If it doesnt work on the 3D vision drivers or looks crap in 3D, then I wont.
I dont buy soley on the merit of a video I saw though, I also use feedback obtained from these forums to make my decision too.
Its very important to me that a game is emersive, so that means that if a game only 'works' in 3D, when you disable a ton of things, then it probably wont cut it. A video is sometimes worth a thousand words. Seeing first hand how x game looks with y and z disabled, is invaluable.
Like I say though, youtube is full of these types of videos now, and thats usually my first port of call.
Im not a fan of spam, but im not apposed to someone making a bit of money for offering a useful service.
I guess the usefulness is relative and debatable though.

Sheesh, given that you can count the number of websites with decent 3D content on one hand it seems a bit churlish to complain about one of the few people who's producing cool 3D videos in his own time and making them available to you for free. And whether or not he's using 3D Vision when recording, actual gameplay footage of a game running in 3D will generally give you a far more reliable guide to how the game is likely to run in 3D on your own PC than nVidia's abysmal rating system (which seems to categorise games as "fair/good/excellent/3d vision ready" entirely at random).
Cheers,
DD

This is a help forum for nvidia 3d. When I see his posts I think 'oooh good - this looks nice, lovely site' - and then find out
that he's nothing to do with nvidia 3d - he doesn't even use it!
I have no probs. with the site - just the dishonesty of posting here, without making your true intentions clear.
He doesn't even interact with people here 'normally' - he clearly has an agenda. And offers footage that can really wind people up, if the game doesn't work in nvid 3d!
This forum is for solutions, not spamming a site! (but I will stop pestering him now - I think he's got the message)
It's a bit like me, posting youtube links to my 'iz3d or amd eyfinity' 3d vids. It would be a little off, don't you think?

I have been reading this thread with interest as I have some sympathy with the OP. I got on board with 3D Vision after reading a review of 3D Vision in PC Format (UK), then going to the cinema to watch Christmas Carol 3D, then rereading the 3D Vision review. I understood (in the most layman terms) how it worked and accepted the fact some games worked better than others because of how it converted games to 3D.
However, I had no idea there were other 3D solutions until a few weeks later and only then through 3rd party sites. They were simply never mentioned and frankly I didn't (and still don't really) care. 3D Vision is arguably targeted for the off-the-shelf gadget end of the geek market (look at the packaging!) which I belong to. It's packaged like a toy and I love playing on it! The other solutions still seem to belong to a very different audience than me, and like ATI drivers, they're fragile at best /yes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I think it is reasonable to assume games recommended here should work with 3D Vision equipment out of the box. It is the 3D Vision forum. It isn't S3D forum.
@ Ed from 3D Dizzy (an awesome site which clearly works hard to promote S3D) /thanks.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thanks:' />
I propose you make it clear on your threads here if the game work on 3D Vision out of the box and try not to assume people on this forum are aware of any other 3D solution.

It's actually hard to gain you lots information about 3dizzies methods - from his somewhat blank website.
What I mean, is that non of the videos (apart from recent ones) contain any helpful info.
It's as if just because he has a website - he is allowed to spam the nvidia forum with links, and no advice or requests for help!
And that xpadder profile (easily available) doesn't quite make up for this.
I even posted a superior pinnacle profile (free trial for 30 days, or fiver to buy).
I applaud his efforts - but it's a slow clap.
PS. S3d = stereoscopic 3d = 3d with glasses on = dual-eye 3d = 3d! (why the s?)
I played a game in 3d. I played a game in s3d. I hate pedantic, overcomplicaters. As if 3d wouldn't do, here of all places.
I actually rate his website... and so what if he uses more than one solution.
Hypothetically, what if there was a game that you really wanted to play, but nvidia's solution just isnt rendering it properly. However, there was another way to get it to work perfectly. Wouldnt you do whatever you could to get it to work right? Why not take that extra bit of time and effort to get that game running the way it should.
Thats where 3Dizzy comes in - all the info is right there and he has already taken the time to get a game running as best as he can. And even uploaded videos to show you how it looks.
That being said, ive never bothered with using any other solutions. But I dont have ANY problem with a person trying to HELP others who may want to get the best 3D solution available to them.
And as far as spamming is concerned. I think you are being pretty dramatic. I appreciate his efforts and have no problem with his presence in these forums. I love hearing about new games and seeing how they run in 3D.

I fear he is doing just that - and does he offer any help?
Why do you let a video alter your buying choices, if it doesn't use nvidia 3d?
I could pre render or fake a video, and post it here. Is that helpful?

A game could look ace in iz3d or whatever - but bad in nvidia 3d - so of what use is his site, if I own nvidia kit?
Is he a samaritan, or faceless spambot? I feel neither - but he's closer to one, than the other.....

And why do you keep bringing up helix... The two are not related in any way.
