I'm wondering how often you guys see flashes/blinking with your glasses? I see flashes/blinking periodically every few minutes (usually in rapid succession for 10 seconds or so) no matter what frequency I go with or whether I turn off all ambient lighting or not. I've also noticed that I continue to see the blinking even if I cover my eyes so I do not have line of sight to the monitor, which leads me to believe it's the glasses/shutters that are causing the blinking, not the brightness of my monitor or any specific game settings.
I've read that each person will experience flashes differently, and the frequency I'm seeing them isn't totally unreasonable. But I'm just not sure if it's normal, or if I have something set wrong, or if there's something wrong with my glasses?

I see them once in a while (every 10-15 min) but it's random.. and certainly doesn't happen in every game.
Can't pinpoint the issue either.
It's a little annoying, but I can live with it for now.

For me it really depends on the lighting conditions. In a dark IR free room at night, I may get them about every 20 minutes. Now, in a bright room in the daytime with a lot of IR devices, I get them once about 10-15 seconds. Also, when I had SLi enabled, it flashed like crazy, maybe every 4-6 seconds. However, once i disabled SLi, the frequency of the flashes dropped dramatically. Other than that I really cant pinpoint the source. One other thing I noticed: at a friends house I had two guys wearing the S3D glasses at the same time they both were getting flashes at exactly the same time based on this it sounds like my problems was the IR emitter. Does anyone know if I can use two IR emitters at the same time to Saturate the room? I don't have any other IR devices in here with me.

I have encountered this problem and I have tested it
1)I have tested at the same time on 2 different days (Lighting the same)
2)The glasses blinked every 10 40 secondes with 1/2 or less battery life
3)The glasses blinked never with battery life charged completly or over 1/2
4)like you said make sure ambient lighting is off, but if the battery is fully charged you should get no blinking
5)Make sure there are no remotes (t.v remotes, wireless cell phones, or anything that uses an infared signal) in line of sight inbetween glasses and IR Emitter

I had noticed the blinking when using the Stereoscopic 3D Viewer then I soon discovered that using extremely large JPS files using 10 megapixel images was the cause. When I resized them to match the resolution of the monitor, the problem went away.
I believe that any flickering problem is related to video card or cpu processing power. Also, if you have a lot of background applications like anti-virus, file-indexing or anything that consumes processor cycles or memory could potentially cause the glasses to skip a beat. (My opinion only, not based on facts)
In games you could try turning down advanced graphics settings or a lower resolution.
Also when I installed the 3D Vision drivers, I had a message saying it was meant for older video card drivers. So I downgraded my video card driver by installing the ones on the disk. They have new 3D Vision drivers available on Nvidia.com which may work with the latest video card drivers.
I still need to try these out, I haven't done so yet.

I just installed a GTX 295 and 3D vision this weekend. So far it's been a terrible experience.
The effect looks cool, but the constant flickering makes me ill both physically and mentally. For my $1000 investment (switched from ati) I'm really not pleased that I would be given such garbage drivers and possibly some hardware conflicts between sli and 3d vision. If this issue can't be resolved I'll be returning every bit of it. It seriously flickers so much I'm afraid it will cause a seizure.

Read all of the posts. You will get flickers when the lights are on
Make sure your glasses are fully charged
I have a 295 gtx in sli and experience NO FLICKERS WITH LIGHTS OFF AND FULLY CHARGED GLASSES
Make sure you have no remotes or anything with an infared light inbetween the glasses and the emitter

I see flashing when playing in the light. Daylight + lights on. Last night i played with 1 light on with no flashing. Normally I play in the dark, no lights and it doesn't flash ever. For me it deff. depends on the lighting. So... I'm really not sure. :magic:

Test application works great - no flickering whatsover.
Just tested in CoD: World at War and it doesn't flicker in that game, but I did notice that (like wow) the glassess just turn off for no reason every 2-3 minutes.
It just flickers constantly in WOW.
Seeing as that's pretty much the only game I play; it's a bust.

This issue occurs when the glasses, emitter, and LCD are out of sync. The problem is generally fixed by charging the glasses fully, as 3D Gamer Ready stated.
Edit:
It can also be a result of signal "contaminating" ambient lights.

Well I've found if I set every possible setting to the absolute lowest it will play without flickering.
BUT, it has to be at exactly 60fps or it flickers. IE, 59fps it flickers and it gets worse the farther you get from 60fps.

Funny thing - I've only had 3 flashes, period, in the time I've owned the glasses. Which is basically since launch. So a couple hundred hours with 3 flashes.
2 8800 ultras in SLI on a 24inch widescreen CRT. Lights on, lights off, TV with remote control on or off, shaved or unshaved, tired or not tired - no problems.
I can force flashes by blocking the line of sight to my glasses. Move your emitter around, and have it close to the glasses.

I can place the IR piece of the glasses 1 inch from the emitter and watch the right lense flash at anything less than 60 fps.
It's not the emitter and the glasses unless mine are just broken.
Seriously. The emitter and glasses are stuck at 60fps and any deviation from 60 fps will cause them to flash rapidly. At 60 fps there is no flashing.
Also, the glasses will be working fine at 60 fps and then just STOP activating the shutters completely. I have to turn the 3d mode off and back on to get them firing again.
I would think it was the batteries but the glasses spent at least 8hrs yesterday being charged and the light indicator shows them as fully charged.

Sounds like you might have a legitimate case for RMA. I get intermittent flashing a little more than I would like, but I've certainly never experienced anything like you're describing. I'd at least hit up nvidia tech support if I were you.

I've read that each person will experience flashes differently, and the frequency I'm seeing them isn't totally unreasonable. But I'm just not sure if it's normal, or if I have something set wrong, or if there's something wrong with my glasses?

I believe that any flickering problem is related to video card or cpu processing power. Also, if you have a lot of background applications like anti-virus, file-indexing or anything that consumes processor cycles or memory could potentially cause the glasses to skip a beat. I still need to try these out, I haven't done so yet.

I have light blocking shades so I've tried it with no light, sunlight, mixed light... none of it removed the nearly constant flickering.
Only IR source remotely close is a tv in the next room behind a wall.
Charged for 2hours before first attempt and they have been on the charger all day as I've been testing and searching for fixes.

Is this working as intended?
It's definitely not being produced by lights.
