Passive 3D Stereo using two Projectors Is it worth it?
Hi,

I just recently purchased a second Optoma EP756 projector, so now I have two. I am a little bit torn, part of me wants to set them up in a 2048x768 configuration and another part of me wants to set them up for Passive 3D.

I used to own a pair of shutter glasses but I found that they were a hassle to use - too many wires. That and they gave me headaches. But a Passive 3D system, now that has me interested. Do any of you have a Passive 3D Projector setup? Is it worth the investment? Do you have any tips on buying a SilverScreen, Polarizers and/or Glasses?

If it's worth it is surely up to you! :). Personally i think you have more if setuped for 3D. A dual projector setup is about the best you can get regarding playing in true3D. One more advantage: You don't have to be alone when playing. Buy some more glasses (they're really cheap) and share the fun with your friends.

I have a dual projectors setup and i'm quite satisfied. I bought my silverscreen and filters at Silverfabric in Germany. Polarization.com and Berezin is some other places as well. I paid about 330 euros for my 2000x1500 silverscreen. I used to have camera linear polarizers but managed to fry them though. However it probably works if you put the polarizers a bit away from the projector lens (3 inches or more). I've tried circular polarization but finds no advantages with this. Circular is more expensive and also seems to have a slightly worse ghost rejection. It's told that you're able to twist your head more though but the difference is almost nonexistent.
There are several more notes at the mtbs3d.com site. Check for Jahuns posts and you'll do fine.

Cheers
