BF2 Special Forces & 82.12 The Iron Gater Map
Hi Everyone,

Anyone else having a performance lag in the Iron Gator Map in Special Forces?

I'm using:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+
Win XP
1GB RAM
6800GS 256MB PCIE
XFI XTEMEMUSIC

According to XP, my pagefile is hitting 840MB.

Sadly, I had to reduce my video settings to make the game playable.

I didn't have this problem at all in vanilla BF2 - but Special Forces is a lot more demanding for some reason.

When I'm in traditional 2D mode, the game runs fine - in stereo 3D, my character is a drunken sailor.

Does stereo 3d take more memory somehow?

Would an extra GB of RAM make a difference - or is my videocard just not powerful enough?

Regards,
Chopper

I have attached an image file of what my new BF2/Special Forces settings are.

Originally, everything except the two texture settings were set to max/high.

I also had to turn on all the optimizations in the Forceware driver.

Again - do you think more system RAM would let me boost my video settings?

The good news is these quality reductions have not had a noticeable impact on image quality - so maybe it's a blessing in disguise.

Rename .ZIP to .JPS and you will be able to open the file.
