Should I just buy AMD for 3d lol

they stated that they're not interested in 3d but from what I've seen lately I could play AC4, NFS Rivals, BF4 in 3d with TriDef with which NONE of my 3dvision READY equipment works (acer h5360/benq XL2420T). I suppose that I would be better off with a passive monitor and $2 glasses.

I can use tridef with my equipment (I have a monitor that does both), and I'm not a huge fan. It's less stable and much lower visual quality overall. It's still better than 2d though, and the compatibility with newer games is a little better too. They've been hinting at some kind of 3d vision news though, so maybe give it a little time before doing anything.

yaah I'm not in a rush, but I'm just pissed that all new games that come out in the past month are playable and fixed with tridef but completely broken with 3d vision... ;/ what monitor do you have? Is this this ASUS or whatever it was that supports SBS before they removed it?

Agree with you guys that going AMD may be the better choice as it seems more and more new games get support from Tridef and AMD cards are much cheaper to and Mantle seems to be praised by the devs but then again nvidia or atleast some modurators over here said we should hear more about 3DV soon. I guess I just wait a little longer and see how things will go and until then I will get a new nice shiny PS4 and have a blast with that :)

If Nvidia solves the DX 11 3D Vision Problem, I will buy a GTX 780ti. I promise! Otherwise i am seriously thinking about switching to AMD and Tridef. I would rather stay Nvidia costumer, that you can believe me.

its funny because I've read some time ago (dont kill me I cant remember where) that AMD dropped the ball on the 3D, but Tridef still pushes it. I suppose thats better business model where the 3d provider is independent from the manufacturer since NVIDIA did nothing to support its 3d vision for the last I dont know 2 years? If you exclude the games fixed by the community you would end up with like 30% of the games that tridef has, and I mean those games that matters and now this ratio is 1 (batman) to 10 for tridef. I dont want to push Helix and bug him about the dx11 thing because he can do whatever he want and whenever he wants, there is no obligation. I would gladly pay for 3d support but there is nobody to pay to. Dont get me wrong I'm really grateful about all the games that have been fixed and I've dropped $100 on migoto which I suppose turned out to be a waste. Its jsut that there is no reliable solution available. What monitor / projector can I buy now to support both Tridef/3dvision? I was thinking about getting another 680 but than I thought what for? I can run all games that are out there in 3d without much problem and there is nothing new I'm struggle with. I know that 3d vision is superior to tridef but so is tridef 3d to 2d and currently all games I would like to play are only playable in 3d with tridef.

I am not a Tridef user so forgive me if this question is naive - but why do you need an AMD card to use TriDef? As far as know you don't. If you don't like 3D Vision (for its lack of support/working properly etc), sure get TriDef, but why does that necessitate buying an AMD card in the process when you already have working Nvidia card? Indeed, keeping your Nvidia card will allow you to at least use 3D Vision as well on all the games that do work, so you get the best of both worlds. What am I missing?

The price! The ONLY reason for me to pay more for NV Hardware instead of purchasing a nearly same speed AMD card for half the money IS 3D vision! If 3D Vision dies, this reason is gone. Sorry.

Sorry.[/quote] that pretty much sums it up, while Nvidia has the best cards most of the time, AMD cards were alwasy better when it comes to price/performance ratio. And while complete overhaul of my 3dvision ready equipment would cost more I would do it anyway just for a principle because I feel like nvidia is getting away with their lack of support and we all keep getting 680/780/titans pretty much to enjoy games fixed by the community. So the company that gets our money doesnt gives a fuck. Check the buzz when a green post appear on this forum, its been a while. I suppose I'm just pissed today, I'm not going to get rid of my 3dvsion setup thats for sure, I'll just put up another pc but its still awkward for me to even consider intel cpu / amd gpu combo :) So again what monitor can I get now to work with both 3dvision and sbs for tridef?

I was considering AMD graphics card instead of my recent purchase of GTX770 but thought I might as well make use of the remnants of both camps with an Nvidia brand, ie. 3D Vision and Tridef's while they last. The only advantage an AMD card gives I believe to be 1080p/60Hz frame packing but there aren't any display hardware to support that yet. For 3D gamers, I think the choice is still Nvidia for a while yet. Then we probably have to migrate to the next platform whatever it might be (Oculus Rift and Vorpx which claims to support games with DX9,10,11, link: http://www.roadtovr.com/vorpx-beta-is-live-add-oculus-rift-3d-support-games/).

I have a VG278H, and it works with tridef. But don't rush out and buy one for that - it seems not all of us get revisions that work in side by side mode, it's very much luck of the drawer and there seems to be no way to predict which you'll get.

well I would contact the seller and make sure it does support sbs before ordering if they ship me one that doesnt I would just send it back to them (assuming that now I know that, I suppose many people that did order it wasnt aware of that fact before their purchase). Its still bad that I just cant run it on 3dvision certified stuff. Side note I remember that doom3 didnt work in sbs/tb and there were no strict 3dvision option, as far as I remebmer it was wokring on something like quad buffer, whats that?
