Forcing Nvidia Emitter On?
I've been using 3D Vision for awhile on my monitor (BenQ XL2411Z), and decided to get a 3D compatible TV. I purchased a Sony W800C (Active 3D), and 3DTV Play and Checkerboard options both work on it. The issue I'm facing is that I cannot get the Nvidia emitter to turn on for my two pairs of glasses. I'm aware that the emitter isn't designed to turn on the glasses if 3DTV play/checkerboard is active since it assumes the TV will have its own set of emitters/glasses, so I tried a number of EDID overrides in hopes that one of them would work on my TV and allow the emitter to turn on. But, alas, I couldn't get it to work. As a test, I was able to run 3D content over my Playstation 3, and run the 3D test application on my computer via the Nvidia Control Panel, and the Nvidia glasses worked fine on the TV. Though, that was rather cumbersome, and I want to play stuff off my computer. So, in short, is there any known ways to simply force the Nvidia emitter to broadcast that the glasses should turn on? Or, is there some kind of way to force the glasses themselves to turn on?

There are a whole bunch of people saying its not possible at all in like a billion threads but... I know for a fact it can but I've only tried it with a projector. Like I can with on my benqw1070 using an acer h5360 edid override. Unfortunately its a shitty option though cause DLP link messed the colors up though a active display won't have that issue. The only reason I can think of this works is because Acer h5360 is a HDMI 1.3 diplay and when 3d vision *thinks* its hdmi 1.3 it will allow it to trigger since HDMI 1.3 3d vision displays are meant for 3D vision at 720p. No idea if there are repurcussions to your colors/sync/whatever. Only projectors are hdmi 1.3 3d vision ready so thats only probably only way. TBH, Im not sure if its okay to use a projector edid override on tv. Id imagine it is fine but no idea. Your on your own as far as thats concerned. OR if its even worth it. 3D glasses arent pricey anymore.

I gave that profile a try, and while the emitter did activate, the 3D output to the TV wasn't anything usable (it had the red warning text of an invalid 3D mode, and the picture was all glitchy). While I've read that the Samsung Active 3D glasses work with my TV (~$20 each, compared to the ~$50 Sony's cost), I merely wanted to use my Nvidia ones since I already had two pairs of glasses that cost me $200 :P . Not the end of the world, but I guess I'll have to buy some more glasses.

Did you try 1280x720@120Hz? You might have to make a custom resolution in the NVCP and set your desktop to it. 1920x1080 isn't going to work on a TV that isn't HDMI 2.0. Also it depends on if your TV's firmware will allow 120 individual frames @720P or if it skips frames. The only way to confirm it, is by using the UFO test from BlurBusters.

Should I perform this was a specific profile, or with the one that eqzitara mentioned?

According to my TV's manual, it supports the following in 3D:

Video (3D):
Frame Packing: 1080p (30 Hz), 1080/24p,
1080i (60 Hz), 720p (30, 60 Hz), 720/24p

Side-by-Side: 1080p (60 Hz), 1080/24p,
1080i (60 Hz), 720p (60 Hz)

Over-Under: 1080p (30, 60 Hz), 1080/24p,
1080i (60 Hz), 720p (60 Hz)
