Dear, friendly guy called "tritosine":
The projector is capable of using the 1280x720@50Hz mode.
It's 100% sure. 50Hz is a standard in Europe.
Don't know why you get dead pixel, but you should ask the support.
It's not normal.
And you was who asked me to try some non standard refresh rate, like 90, 95Hz,
etc. with my V700...
I found a really detailed instruction about how to read and restore the EDID:
http://blog.komeil.com/2008/06/fixing-edid-dvi-monitors-no-signal.html
I have an Emachines V700, and have problem with EDID, not have 1280x720, not have 120Hz,
etc. The service repaired for me. Now i want to backup my correct EDID for the future,
so i also can solve it, no service is needed.
"Monitor Asset Manager is a great tool to easily see and save the EDID from a "live" monitor, to/from a file"
As i read from the info above all i need is this free monitor manager program, to read the original,
working EDID info from the projector to a RAW file, and buy Powerstrip to upload when needed?
No need to change serial number, checksum, etc. this is only needed when i use someone else's edid file?
I have an old 7600gt, with it hopefully will work the update.
Hello all
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone involved in this thread as it allowed me to save my Acer H5360 wich EDID got corruped ; making it only recognized as a simple monitor in windows.
I had to switch from my GTX460 to my old 8800GT for PowerStrip to access the EDID.
At first try, edid got detected as corrupted and I let Powerstrip try to repair it ; it partially worked ( 'cable too long error') ; my VP got then recognized as a TARGA ACER H5360 ; and sound got corrupted at each boot but all resolutions were already here.
Next I flashed my EDID dump ( backed up from registry ) and everything went fine. Edid is 100% ok now.

You could probably have just uninstalled the monitor from device manager, ticking the box to also uninstall the driver. Then restart and it should be returned to default.

Pirateguybrush ; please read the thread from the beginning.
This has nothing to do with the driver.
The edid INSIDE the edid chip of the projector got corrupted.
