Currently you can try out the game via open Beta (Multiplayer only). Unfortunately 3D doesn't kick in for me when playing the beta. But here's definitely hope the final retail will have at least playable 3D out of the box (just like the predecessor if I remember correctly).

The game is officially out now. Unfortunately 3D doesn't kick in when launching the game (just like the BETA). The emitter is brightly lit just like normal when 3D Vision is active but it's 2D only.
When you press the 3D Vision enable/disable key you get a 2D image that's just slightly shifted every time you press the key. When 3D Vision is active you have full control over the depth-slider it just doesn't do anything as the game is 2D only....
Could the missing 3D have anything to do with the Denuvo Anti-Tamper that is used for this game?
Any idea?

This might be related to StereoCutOff so first thing you need to do is check the game's profile, see if the exe is properly set and then change StereoCutOff to "0x00000002 Use StereoCutoffDepthNear". Once you do that start the game and check if it has depth. If you don't see any effect just alt+tab and try some lower StereoCutoffDepthNear values until you find a correct one.
Lastly if none of this works, set StereoCutOff to 0x00000000, start the game and decrease depth and convergence to the lowest possible values and work your way up from there. I really don't recommend this setting but it might work in this case.

Also maybe try using the MKX profile, it's the same engine is it not?

Thanks guys for all the help!
Unfortunately it's still 2D only for me! I tried the MKX profile to no avail...2D only! Then I tried everything Kaimasta said 2 posts above...also no success! This d... game just doesn't want to be displayed in glorious 3D (which is a shame when thinking of all the Netherrealm 3D awesomeness of the past like Mortal Kombat 9, Mortal Kombat X, Injustice - Gods among Us). I can't believe there is no way to activate 3D Vision for this game.
On a side note: As I said, while the game is 2D only the emitter is brightly lit and you have access to depth and convergence settings (although there is absolutely no 3D involved here as there is just one solid 2D image displayed) But when you increase convergence by pressing the corresponding button the image is constantly shifting to the side so both fighters get out of your field of view.

Maybe try installing a release copy of 3DMigoto for the depth/convergence unlocking tool included. You could even try just dropping my old MKX fix in there, not with the expectation it will fix any of the shaders (guaranteed they will be different hashes), but that might be good enough to at least unlock the 3D-ness for the game.

Even the MKX fix doesn't fix anything here!
Correct me if am wrong but there is one option in the settings-section that maybe has something to do with the "no 3D"-issue. Via the settings screen you can select on which of your connected displays the game shall be displayed. I'll attach a screenshot.....
P.S: I also tried the game on my Alienware M17X 3D Vision laptop (with no additional displays connected) but still 2D only!

GREAT NEWS!
Today driver 388.31 came out (including an official profile for Injustice2) and now 3D Vision kicks in!
The Game is even rated good. You just have to set shadows to "Low"!
This one looks very playable and very good by the way (judging from the couple of minutes I already gave it). Super moves have some minor issues.

As said before some supermoves (found just one so far) have some issues with double-images. The same issue can be found in the character equipment-editing mode. I'll add a screenie so you can see for yourself....

That's interesting, at least it's kicking in now must have been a profile issue
Sounds similar to the MKX problems. I can't really buy games at the moment, but I might eventually pick this on up, maybe DJ-Rk's mk fix can be re-purposed for this game. Although I still want to look at Xcom 2 before anything

If it's the exact same engine, then I might try killing 2 birds with one stone and see if I can update the MKX fix using the new Regex engine, and that may in turn fix Injustice 2 without me even owning it. Been meaning to go back over my catalog of fixed games since I know a few of them have since become broken, and hopefully Regex is the answer for a one time fix.
Just a heads up/reminder: Shadows in MKX were a completely different beast than in any other games which I could not figure out how to fix, so I wouldn't get my hopes up too high for those.

Great DJ-RK! I was hoping for you to chime in here ;-)
To aid in your quest I'll attach some screenies of Superman's Ultimate attack that has major issues (look at the very strange vertical line in the first screenie. Looks almost like two separate images...)
As I said before this game looks gorgeous in 3D Vision and is definitely playable in 3D even in its default state. Also not all super-moves have issues. To be honest so far I only tested Superman and the Flash. Superman's ultimate attack has major issues while the Flash's supermove has none!

I will be surprised if this is not the Mkx engine as it's the follow up of that game from NRS and there was some concurrent development I suspect. But at the same time unless we can confirm it I wouldn't say spending time retooling Mkx is a good use of your time DJ-RK. So I do not know for sure if it is.

Hmmm, you guys say that Injustice 2 could probably work with the Mortal Kombat X fix... But why? Shouldn't it be better to try with the Injustice 1 (Gods among us) fix (which has been posted on helixmod.blogspot)? Or do I get something wrong?
