GTX 970 4K 3D VIsion gaming success with LGUB850V Passive TV

formicro or mocca - I am having difficulty duplicating your success. First, Windows 8.1 Driver signature validation must be disabled to allow EDID driver to be loaded (clarification, for EDID override novices like me). I found 64-bit EDID here (see http://afriendlyfox.com/2013/02/04/massively-improved-nvidia-3d-vision-on-passive-3dtvs-edid-override/, first two versions I tried would not load).
On my LG 55UB9500, HDMI 1 is used for Acer HR274H override, 3D Vision enabled, DVI connection on my GTX980. HDMI 3 is used for 4K Desktop, HDMI 2.0 connection on my 980. When I attempt to play a game using HDMI 3, 3DTV Play intercepts the 3D display mode, telling me that 3840x2160 @ 60 Hz is not supported. If I attempt to disable 3DTV Play in my 4K Desktop (HDMI 3 "display"), 3D Vision is simultaneously disabled on my Acer "display" (HDMI 1). So, I am able to see only interleaved 1080p data, which does not display correctly on my UHD TV, or 2D 4K data.
How did you handle NVIDIA Control Panel/Stereoscopic 3D settings in each display domain? Once the setup is successful, do you need to keep swapping between the different HDMI inputs to obtain 3D for each game?

In one 4k TV review, they mentioned the process of scaling the image down to 1080p caused some input lag. If interleaved isn't scaled, which i assume it isn't, then i imagine the input lag is okay? How is the input lag on your TVs?

It's annoying isn't it ! lol
What games you trying, Raceroom gave me the same type of issue.
I have black screens and allsorts when I switch to 4k output but ctrl+t usually brings up a image and a 3d picture, or alt tab sometimes works, its never a black screen of death though so those 2 options work for me when things go bad.
Are you alt tabbing out of game 1st before win+p ?
The games that don't work for me and reverts back to 3d play and the red error message are games that don't go to desktop or show win+p while in game, seems alt+tab 1st breaks the trick for me if i have todo this 1st and then win+p.
.
Allso I have to press win+P and keep pressing these buttons until you hit computer only which is my 4k output, I then switch from acer edid to 4k and then I turn the tv channel over onto 4k, if I have a black screen or a funky screen the 2 options I mentioned earlier fixes it.
if ITS REAlly bugging you maybe run a copy of win 7 and a game we have confirmed to work if all else fails.
I dno what to say as it drove me round the bend for a few hours but once i got this working it's worked ever sionce and i have deleted the edid and started again just for peace of mind.
Looks like I'm naffed according to Sony manual.

As you can see at 4k 50/60hz i only have output that I've highlighted in txt, so i take it i don't have real 4k (hdmi 2.0 ? )on this sony like you guys have on the lg ?
Notice also it says " supports 4k ", i know what support means sometimes so maybe i just don't have a real hdmi 2.0 tv, grrrr

Yes I do, can you confirm you have the same issue at 4k 24/30hz as at these lower hz resolutions the colourbug isn't present for me.

I can confirm there is no colorbug with 30hz but there is some ghosting and inputlag on my LG 55UC970.
But while testing I found out that if I activate UHD color deepth using my HDMI 3 port the colorbug is gone also using 60HZ.
However when I start some games (Black ops 1, Black ops 2) I get out of range. This might be because of my cable, It is not capable of carrying 4k@60hz 10bits so I get artefacts and I couldn't find yet one that is long enough to connect my TV (7-10m). Dead space 2,3, Brothers in arms look awsome, except for the line and artefacts generated by the cable :).
PS: All this was tested using Tridef not Nvidia but it should be partially valid also for Nvidia

Additional comments about my unsuccessful testing:
Note that LG's HDMI 3 input offers the best 4K color performance of all 4 HDMI inputs - (still cannot figure out how to post pictures in this forum - this site's web form tool does not allow direct cut and paste like TriDef forums). YCbCr 4:2:2 for 8/10/12 bit input, YCbCr 4:4:4 and RGB 4:4:4 for 8-bit input (4096x2160p @ 60 Hz). Also note that these are 2D specs, not 3D specs.
I also used Ignition to test my 980 and LG UHD TV, using several DX9 games I already had loaded on my PC (overclocked i7 4960X, Asus P9X79 Pro, 16 GB, 960 GB SSD, and so on). I used DX9 games like Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2, Bound by Flame, and Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2, to minimize performance issues associated with rendering large 4K data frames. Using 4K 60 Hz Desktop, I configured Ignition to provide line-interlaced data to the UHD TV. This mode worked, with only a slight color/brightness shift - but unusual, unacceptable 3D ghosting also appeared, which is NOT present with other 3D input modes like 1080p SBS @ 60 Hz (4K 2D display is solid, so cable bandwidth is not an issue). This ghosting might also be present with 3D Vision, if I could get formicro's setup approach to work...
By the way, I also removed my 980's stock cooler (EVGA dual fan ACX 2.0) and installed Arctic's Accelero Hybrid II-120 cooler yesterday. This cooler appears to work well (quieter, cooler than stock cooler), but I still prefer the original Hybrid design that I have installed on my R9-290X. The new backside cooling approach takes more time to install than the individual heat sinks on the original design. The original Hybrid design also includes a separate cooling fan for the memories and other board components.

Not sure what the source of the ghosting is (note that UHD is reporting 2160p @60 Hz 3D signal - perhaps NVIDIA 347.25 driver issue for 4K signals?). I was already using 3840x2160 for both Desktop and game settings (4096 spec cited above is simply max size spec limit for this UHD TV, a mode I am not using). Sorry for confusion created by my 4K reference.
The process of removing the EDID mod also requires several steps - disconnect extra cable, remove EDID Acer 274 display driver, AND Windows 8 multi-monitor configuration information. Even then, I now have difficulty viewing consistent 3D with NVIDIA's 3D Test application (no problem before EDID override testing).
NVIDIA really needs to update 3DTV Play, making it more like Ignition's plug and play for supported displays. HDMI is an open standard - which has evolved over the past 5 years. Every new display connection should not turn into a science experiment. Many users like me would be content with 1080p60, even without full HDMI 2.0 support! See https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/809649/3d-vision/please-add-hdmi-2-0-support-to-3dtv-play-/.

formicro - how did you set up 3D Vision for your HDMI 2.0 display, after creating EDID Acer "display" and enabling its 3D Vision? On my setup, 3D Vision is coupled for both displays and prevents 4K 3D display. Note that my HDMI 2.0 display was already set up to work with 3DTV Play, before adding Acer display - with Acer as primary display, and HDMI 2.0 as secondary.

Like i said in my first post, all happened with a bit of luck , i didn't try to achieve that.
To sum it up :
Hdmi 1 to DVI on GTX 970, Acer Edid override ==> 1080P 3D OK
Ran 3Dvision config tool, all OK
Hdmi 3 plugged to Hdmi on GTX 970, Res set to 4K
In display options, set display "only TO LG TV"
And woot, 4K Interleaved 3D .... Seriously i have no idea what fucked up the drivers to achieve that.
Important things to note : HDMI3 is hdmi 2.0 compliant
I use drivers 347.25, the trick doesn't work any more if i update it.
If i launch services.msc, i can see that nvidia stereodriver service is DISABLED (WTF)
I HAVE NOT INSTALLED 3DTVPLAY
Anyway , launching a game on hdmi 3 in 4K res launches it in 4K 3D interleaved mode, i can adjust the depth with ctrl+F4, but i have no green nvidia 3D messages compatiblity
Strange, strange, stranger, but working ...
So i'm really sorry mate, but i can't provide you a trusted method because i don't have any clue how all that shit happenned ... But the truth is, thre's no hardware limitation that prevent Nvidia to release a 3Dtvplay version allowing us to select 4K interleaved gaming ....

So I tried to use the Acer passive Edid and than add a custom resolution. But unfortunately I get no signal when I setup 4k res. I got some image with some different setup in timing section but it was all messed up.
Could the Acer edid be modified to support 4k res?

Could the Acer edid be modified to support 4k res?
