In the d3dx.ini change this:
force_cpu_affinity=1
for this:
force_cpu_affinity=0
This will fix some performance issues - on core CPU used.
I've updated the fix:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/DarkStarSword/3Dfix-MGSV_TPP-0.2a.zip
- Switched d3dx.ini to release mode and re-enabled all cores (oops, updated my release script to stop me from making that mistake again)
- Fixed disappearing menu (it's a 3D menu way closer than all the other 3D menus, so the custom convergence moved it off screen)
- Fixed sand gust decals
- Fixed sandstorm clipping and flickering
- Fixed ocean clipping (only the horizon in this game, in GZ is was the whole thing)
- Fixed specular highlights on rocks beyond 10 meters
- Adjusted subtitles after getting the translator
[s]If someone is starting a new game, can you check if the name + birthday screen still looks ok (comes up at one point while the doctor is talking)? To fix the disappearing menu and still allow for other 3D HUD elements I used a cut-off depth of 48.0 to switch between two possible convergence overrides, but that menu was right around that depth - I think it was a little further and should be ok, but need to check.[/s] The y, z, and w Constants are the two custom convergences and the cut-off point between them.
Edit: It was broken, so I adjusted the cut-off to 57 - it will use the low convergence, but seems like the best compromise for now. Fix updated to 0.2a

Awesome work DSS !
Thus, with Max Payne 3 profil, all maxed out (except dof and blur off), I have wrong shaders in left eye with extra high Ambiant Occlusion.
Anyone else?

Interesting. I was actually just setting StereoFlagsDX10 = 0x00004000, but the Max Payne 3 profile seems to work for me.
What resolution are you running at? The extra high AO fix depends on a texture override, but I couldn't verify if the hash is independent of the resolution because the game hangs if I try to change that. For reference I'm running it on 1920x1080
Are you using SLI or single GPU?

I'running 4k interlieved 3D with single 980ti.
I could try tomorrow with StereoFlagsDX10 = 0x00004000 settings.
note:AO to high works ok but looks ugly in comparison ;)

Have you gotten past the intro yet? because I'm also running 4K interleaved, with 980ti and there is no way you will be running the game with those settings in 4K in the main game anyway. You would be getting less then 20fps in compounds.
I recently tested all the settings and for me I can get from 32 fps to 60fps with post processing on low which basically disables blur, AO, and depth of field effects.
This is one of the best looking 3D vision games now and I'm happy I can run it in 4K 3D and it's still playable. I actually find all the extra effects distract in 3D anyway. They just take away from the nice 3D look and add blurring, and such does nothing for me in 3D.
Was thinking of getting another 980ti but knowing my previous SLI experiences, it will most likely not be working in over half the games I try. SLI support nowadays is a joke. Can't wait for the new Pascal cards!

SLI doesn't seem to work in Ground Zeroes, I haven't tested Phantom Pain yet.
Has anyone tested performance with this fix vs without? I'd be interested to know how the hit is this time, and also whether SLI works.
@chitiblue the AO problem was because get_resolution_from=swap_chain was not reliable in this game. I've changed it to use the depth buffer resolution and am getting ready to release it on the blog.
Edit: Link is here, still trying to decide which screenshots to post:

yep, I'm in 2nd mission on mothership board.
I OC my 980TI to 1460MHZ on core and 7800Mhz for vram.
I played with the 1st fix, all the 1st mission in 4k, at 20fps by night and between 25 to 30 fps on daylight. I hope the a2 fix (with reenabled all cores) will crank up the fps... AO on extra high looks so much better than high AO for me on what I saw on mothership board...

Fix is up:
http://helixmod.blogspot.com.au/2016/01/metal-gear-solid-v-phantom-pain.html
This should fix the AO=extra high on other resolutions and has a couple more lighting shaders fixed that were used in rainy weather.
I pray all the gods that you put your magic hands on Elite shadows :)
