How do I shut off the 3d startup wizard?
I enabled the 3d effects so I could play my games in 3d, however, now when I open any application that has an nvidia profile in the driver, I get the "startup wizard" overlay and cannot do anything. this includes chrome, the browser, and my tripp lite activity monitor application. When an application launches in full screen, I can push C to disable the startup wizard, however as the tripp lite application doesn't have a full screen mode, the start up wizard completely ignores the c button and WILL NOT DISABLE. Can anybody tell me how to remove this garbage startup wizard overlay? I have removed and reinstalled the driver with no luck.

I'm not sure what you're seeing, is it the 3d vision setup wizard? After you complete it once, it shouldn't appear again unless you reinstall drivers. If you can't make it go away, a driver reinstall would probably fix it.

I think you might be talking about the help text that shows up when you first launch an app. Green text, lower right corner, right? You turn that off by hitting Ctrl-Alt-Ins. Might not be what you are seeing though, because I don't understand why C would affect it.

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j161/Ig88b1/Untitled_zps73de9bbd.png that is what I am seeing, bo3b sounds right except that it doesn't register ANY key presses, so I can't disable it or get it to move forward. I have already completely removed and re installed all the 3dvision and nvidia drivers.

Try looking under Programs and Features in the control panel, and remove PowerAlert. It seems to be made by a company called Tripplite

Looks like that's related to iZ3D: http://forum.iz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=1589&sid=c78dc6c72198345a8c9de334872a3729 That software has been dead for over 2 years, not sure how you got that. You definitely do not need or want iZ3D. I can't quite understand the connection to Tripplite as well, but that could be a java weirdness. Anyway, this is not what you want for 3D Vision. Assuming you are trying to use 3D Vision. Tell us about your hardware, your monitor/display in particular.

The display (don't laugh) is a Mitsubishi DLP TV that I am trying to get the nvidia card to put out hdmi checkerboard. I was beating my head against the wall, because everything seemed to come together (the PC put out in 3d, the TV went into 3D mode, the IR emitter lit up and everything) BUT I'm still not getting the 3d effects, despite everything looking good, both software and hardware.

You'll need to use 3D TV Play for that.

Some of the older Mitsubishi HDMI 1.3 DLP Tvs are supported via 3D Vision and require an Nvidia emitter to activate and unlock stereoscopic gameplay. Then you can use either Nvidia glasses or the Mitsubishi glasses + Mitsubishi emitter. Some of the very early models required that an adapter/converter be used or that a firmware upgade be installed for 3D Vision compatibility. If it's a later model that is HDMI 1.4 compliant, then it will require that you purchase 3DTV Play as a middleware (as Pirateguybrush has pointed out) to enable Stereoscopic gameplay in games that do not natively support 3D. Off the top of my head, I do know that James Camerons Avatar the Game has checkerboard support built in natively. So when you mention an emitter is it made by Nvidia or Mitsubishi? What model is the TV? If it requires the firmware, it's kinda hard to find.

Bahahah a DLP TV that's just silly ... Oh wait I'm using a 65" Mitsubishi DLP, a 3D Vision TV @ 1080p60! :) Mine's an HDMI 1.3 model, I'm not a 100% certain but I think I may have had trouble with HDMI cables on my setup at first and/or just switched to a DVI to HDMI cable. I'm using an NVIDIA 3D Vision emitter to enable 3D Vision, a 10' DVI to HDMI cable to deliver the signal and DLP-Link glasses to view it. I have to manually enable 3D on the DLP TV, otherwise it just shows the doubled image but doesn't trigger the DLP-Link glasses because it's not sending the DLP-Link signal to the glasses.
