Yeah, only solution for Arma 3 at present is to use Compatibility Mode.
I don't think people are getting crashes in general though. Make sure it works in 2D first.
One of the first things to try if a game crashes when launched in 3D, is to disable any overlays.
Such as Steam Community, MSI Afterburner, Fraps, etc.....
