nvidia 3d vision driver slows down 3d vision driver
hey guys i was doing some fps testing in games with out the 3d vision driver installed. and i got like 255fps in devil may cry dx10 overall
and when i installed the driver, with out activating the 3d vision, it ran with 121fps overall. why does it take alot of fps while not playin in 3d?
just by having the 3d driver installed. all games droped significantly overall fps. with out having 3d activated. am just wondering because if
3d cuts performance by almost half it would be good to have those 255fps that i was getting with out the 3d driver installed. so that when i play it in 3d
it goes to 127fps IN 3d.. not 60fps in 3d.
i have the latest drivers. iv herd that if you have any temperature reader or overclocking thing it makes 3d run slow? for example*evga precision?

If something wierd happens e.g. I dont close a game properly, my PC's performance drops...
Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

It's not draft once the 3d vision drivers are installed and enabled (no matter if you are using it or not) it enables vsync so you normally get a max of 120fps if you want your higher frame rates then you need to disable the 3d vision completely. Just remember that the monitor only does 120hz so only 120frames ever get to the screen the extra frames are wasited. and you end up with frame tearing and so on.

hey what overclocking software can i use? is the one included in the nvidia control panel any good? or should i uninstall that one and use msi afterburner? iv herd that it does not go well with the 3d vision driver?

Disable 3D Vision in the control panel if you are planning on running any games or applications in 2D. You will get better performance that way that just toggling 3D off with whatever shortcut key you are using.

Just wondering if it turned out that it was vsync?
I had a problem recently where my fps was crippled when i installed the 3d vision drivers.
I bought an Asus 480 and it came with some software called gamer osd, and smartdoctor. I tried everything, different drivers, mismatching drivers, safe mode attempts, finally driver sweeper. Non sorted out my problem.
I reformatted my hard drive, installed the bare essentials. Was getting the fps i was expecting, even with the 3d vision driver installed. I then installed the software that came with my card. the problem reappeared. I uninstalled the programs and found my fps went back to normal.
Someone has told me its because i havent used the 175.13 drivers that came on the driver cd. I cant comfirm this as i am currently using the 175.45's.
If it was the vsynch for you, or if not and it isnt anything like what i have said, hopefully this still helps someone out. Had me pulling my hair out!

yea its the Vsync. i just disabled 3d vision in the control panel and got the framerates up.
and i think iv herd that those programs don't go well with 3d vision driver.

I have just installed the performance tab in the nvidia control panel. I have been having issues with tech support about loading clock profiles and simply getting the settings to 'stick'.... but you might have better luck. I must say that if I use rivatuner or EVGA for instance i get the dreaded flicker... But with this I don't.
Im at level 2 tech support now, sure is slow going, but Im going to see it through. I want to overclock if I can. I wasnt overclocking before because of the flicker..

I have just installed the performance tab in the nvidia control panel. I have been having issues with tech support about loading clock profiles and simply getting the settings to 'stick'.... but you might have better luck.
