JUST bought a 480 graphics card and want to use 3d also. WHAT DRIVER?
PLese help me out. The driver on the nvidea site that is current and dated 5-10-2010 works fine, but will it provide 3d abilities? I remember when I used my last card, a 9800 GTX + I had to NOT use the current driver and use some older one in order for 3d to work.

What driver would I use now that I have the 480? I want to use 3d abilities like I have, but I won't miss out on current updated drivers will I?

Any direct links or specifics and help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you all !

Use 197.41 driver. I don't have a link because I'm on my iPhone but it'll tell you on the download page which 3d driver to use with it. I think it's also 197.41.

You want the 197.75's, just download and run them as normal [remember to delete your old drivers first]. The 3D drivers are bundled inside.

Hope this helps :).

Wait so those drivers also install 3d vision for the 480? How about if you have a physx card like a gts250?

So far all of the GTX480 drivers only support the GTX480. No Physx card support for other models yet, though some people have got it working. Nvidia is working to have all cards supported in a single driver package with the next release. Should be some time soon. 256.** as far as I'm aware.

well I downloaded that driver and my computer keeps saying it needs to install a driver for my IR emitter. I called galaxy tech 's tech support and they are recommending i try the 197.41 driver instead. I am currently downloading that.

1-Why with the driver most of you recommended does it say I need to have a driver installed for my emitter?

2-If this continues should i just use the driver on the cd that came with the glasses?

3-Wouldn't doing number 2 above keep my from using the most current drivers for games and work against me?

4-Why is my ir emitter flashing red?

1. Just install the latest NVIDIA Driver for 480 GTX 197.75.
2. Install latest 3DVision Drivers. When asked: keep newer files.
3. Proceed the 3DVision Setup.

You are ready to go!

Yes this process works fine for those who are having IR emitter problems with the new drivers. Just choose "No to All" when you install the 197.41 3D Vision drivers and it asks you if you want to overwrite the newer files.
