3D Vision + OpenGl 3D Vision Drivers OGL compatible

[quote name='Likay' post='545109' date='May 25 2009, 09:33 AM']By the way: BlackQ on the IZ3D forums gave a tip that might work, even for nvidiadrivers. It's an opengl to directx wrapper. I tried it with Prey without any luck though. It might work with your own apps if you watch your programming a tad.

I also would like to hear about when we can expect OpenGL support to be re-added to the drivers. (The Old Drivers had OpenGL support)
I want to play Doom 3 in Stereo!
Edit: New XP Quadro Stereo 3D Drivers support OpenGL, so maybe its on its way? (Then again, these drivers also support all the Shutter Glasses nVidia killed)

So I just installed Prey to enjoy in awesome 3d, only to find out that doh! it doesn't work. Am I missing something, is there a way to make openGL work or is this a feature that we're going to be perpetually be waiting for?

So what you're saying is that it's in their ability to provide support for gaming cards, but they just wont? /yucky.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':yucky:' /> poppybum!

That is the only think I am really disappointed with Nvidia and 3D Vision so far. There are some gems that are OpenGL that I would like to revisit and really, after all this time, I do not see any decent excuse as to why no OpenGL support. /verymad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':verymad:' />

Well, I'm not saying that exactly.
But given the fact they were able to do it in the past, and that they seem unable or unwilling to do so at present suggests something similar to what you've written.
The technology worked before, why wouldn't it work now?
If bit cauldron offers opengl support for games when thier glasses come out, I'm jumping ship. I already own the rest of the hardware.
Edit: I'd like to add that I don't believe we need quad buffering compatability for our "gaming" cards unless that is needed for 3d vision to work. I'm not talking about cutting into the professional market niche with gaming cards. That wouldn't be fair to Nvidia at all. Besides - it's not like you can game using 3d vision and opengl apps with a quadro anyway - at least that's how I understand it.
