Since we are still on the subject here is some info or speculation about PC release - which we suppose to be already aware of (as Rockstar explained long time ago - PC will definitely happen).

I too am in the boat where I've never been able to get into the GTA games... every time a new one comes out, I see all the 10/10 reviews and I'm like now THIS one must be the S#$%H, and invariably pick it up. All my friends rave about it, it's all over the news for selling umpteen million copies. And each and every time I've just been like, I DON'T get it... Kinda shames me, I feel like not liking GTA is part of a missing "Man" gene in my dna, probably on the same strand that makes me disinterested in football, muscle cars and fishing :-D I guess the nerd in me is just too strong and would rather be firing off lasers and dueling lightsabers than simulating anything that could happen in the real world.
More power to all of you guys who love the series, I'm actually jealous... and once again I'll probably pick it up to remind myself of how different I am from all the other kids :-D

Well, as a data point, I'm fairly heavy on the nerd scale as well. I don't get sports at all, including football and soccer, and watching bass fishing on TV makes me think I went to an alternate universe.
But, I love the GTA series. I played Vice City years ago, just because of the controversy, and found it supremely fun. I think the key element is whether you find their humor amusing or not. If you don't find their radio commercials funny, you also probably won't enjoy driving your car on the sidewalk and see people bounce off the hood.
If Rusty Brown's Ring Donuts doesn't bring out your inner 11 year old, it's probably not the series for you.

I dunno, this one seems different at least for me. The past GTA's werent that fun for me to even play, let alone watch. I am actively watching a let's play for GTA 5 its that good. The sandbox elements are fun and all but the past games to me only had that going for them.
The story/characters are equal to just about any RPG.

Well now that you mention it, the radio shows are actually my favorite part of the GTA series, and I've always found them hilarious. What enjoyment I did have from GTA III came from driving around listening to the radio, to the point where I didn't want to get out of the car. I've got absolutely zero issue with knocking the teeth out of virtual hookers and squishing pedestrians - in fact I love the idea of it, I just didn't think they executed it well. The humor definitely isn't the issue for me, I'm certainly not easily offended, and probably am even a bit more crass than the average fella (for example, I'm also LOVING Deadpool right now).
I was thinking about it some more, and besides the "real world" aspect for me, another issue has also been that I've found the driving unresponsive and difficult. Though I've heard it's been made a bit tighter for this one? Though I've also heard people say the difficult driving is one of the things they like about the series, again as an appeal to realism. I've always had the console versions of the games, too, and have found them downright fUgly. And I don't mean because they're on console, I mean I've considered them ugly compared to other games on the same console/generation. All of them run at 30fps or less, with an ugly washed out blur effect, and this only adds to the difficult controls.
But I personally just haven't liked Rockstar engines in general - Max Payne 3 was probably my most disappointing 3d experience on pc. I don't understand how people praise that game's graphics, the engine looks plain and 9 years dated to me. But a lot of this is very subjective, I tend to have different sensibilities and preferences as far as graphics than many people.
I've really enjoyed some of the Saints Row games, and I recently completed Sleeping Dogs and had a blast, so it can't even be the genre that I don't like... I guess I've found the GTA games kind of slow, too. So maybe I just need that extra little "over the top" push... And kung fu helps. I found the driving much more responsive in both of those series as well.

Well I'm gonna head over to twitch/youtube right now and take a look for myself. I hope you're right, I'd love to be in on the next "big thing" rather than scratching my head in boredom on the sidelines! :-D If the pacing has improved and/or the driving feels better, maybe I'll finally "get" GTA! Woot!
