I still want to use my 3D Vision! Can I install the 3D Vision driver separately?
  1 / 7
I like to use my 3D Vision occasionally. So I was greeted with quite a surprise when I booted into Windows (I use Linux 99% of the time) and could not find the 3D Vision support in the NVidia control panel. After doing some quick Googling, I discovered that NVidia had ripped it out of the latest drivers, forcing me to downgrade to an earlier driver. I would naturally like to keep my drivers up-to-date, while still using 3D Vision. I know it isn't supported any more. So, is there a way to strip just the 3D Vision support out of the last driver package (418.something) and install just the 3D Vision support whenever I install a driver update? If not, I guess I am stuck with 418.something forever.

You are correct. These's alot of discussions about it on this board if you look. The main thread regaridng future of 3dvision support which should still be on the first 1/2 pages needs to be a sticky imo. (at one point it even got locked.)

Did I understand that correctly? I noted that you previously confirmed 3D Vision functionality for driver 425.42 which technically speaking is still on the 418 branch, but 430.64 obviously isn't. This is intriguing to say the least. You appear to have been a lone voice in the wilderness regarding this issue, but I've a feeling that might change in a heartbeat if some other adventurous soul who currently uses Win7 could make an attempt at replicating this...

Still need manually to install the file 3DVision.exe from same directory even if you drop the kit into folder driver 430.64 (the driver install will detect only the USB driver).

Thanks.

Just tested on Windows 7 computer bare install of Windows 7 Pro 3D Vision installs. Well test later and add to post. The following games are working driver 430.64 with 3D Vision once I completely install Windows 7 I'm sure all games will run. Sekiro Ashen (with Universal fix) Redout " " this must be a RTX issue which isn't supported in Windows 7 I suggest we pm 3Dmigoto team and close the thread. NVidia might just waste time patching a loophole in the driver.

On Windows 10 installing the 430 and manual install the 3D vision kit is not working. The Kit will tell you: 3D Vision uses a different version than the graphic driver" or something like that. This is working for Windows 7 ???????? - Extract driver - add the 2 3D vision folders - install driver (only the USB controller driver is shown in the list) - and THAN go to the 3ddision driver folder and run the setup from there?? ==> This is working?? On Windows 7 ??????????

[/quote] All credit should go to harisukro (Thank You) I tried many combo's of 3D Vision drivers on Windows 10 some as far back as 390.XX none of them worked I would always get driver version mismatch error when installing the 3D Vision driver. I think this is related to RTX features which might not be available in Windows 7 this why it works. Once I finish hunting down drivers for Windows 7 and create a system image I will play around with it more.

@zig11727 That's fantastic news regarding the functioning games. Yep, a huge thank you is owed to harisukro. Building a shrine or a statue in harisukro's honour doesn't even come close somehow! "Happy 'harisukro' Day!" I'll enscribe this date in the calendar, for a repeat celebration precisely a year from now. @harisukro Thank you good sir. Future Geforce drivers might not be so kind to us, I guess that time will tell, but I think you might just have rescued 3D Vision from an undeserved fate.
