But.... Why??? The original one looks better than the Redux one anyway...
I'm confused...[/quote]
It has some gameplay changes, I've heard. And from now on, it's more likely that people will buy this version, I think.
And hey, why not accept the callenge of fixing it :p? It will help future games with that engine, like Shadow Warrior 2.
Why don't all the 3D user's sent the devs a e-mail and tell them we are disappointed they the new version is a water down version of 5 year old program that doesn't have 3D support.
A little off topic I think the steam timer is a little too fast.
I e-mailed flying wild hog and told them how disappointed I was.

Well, in all fairness, I bought it for $3 before release on the promise of improved visuals.
Now I'm on the fence about bothering because if what's shown by the video is, in the end, the true situation then clearly it's a downgrade and not worth bothering, but I'm hopeful that there's more to it. I've dug for more details on this, and apparently AO *is* in the game, seems to be working for some, but not everyone. The developer says it's dynamic as opposed to pre-baked, so could be a bug. Not so sure about the missing lighting effects, again, could be something to do with the dynamic nature. Blurry textures have already been addressed as using a different AA method. Gameplay improvements DO actually sound like good additions, so I'd really like to see the visuals situation improve.
Anyway, I'm waiting on this one to see if any updates/fixes come down the pipeline before I commit to anything, both for the sake of not having to refix anything, and also for the purpose of debating if it's worth my time. ;)

The effect is subtle. Cycling thrugh shaders, when I skip the AO shader (in other games and this one it gets stuck in a fixed position so if you move the camera it's visible where it was making an effect), I see that it's there and working. I guess that modifying the shader can make the effect stronger.

The dream is dead: "Sorry guys, but we don't plan to add 3D Vision support or a different AA algorithm."

Hmm... a "told you so" doesn't do justice here...:(
Yupp, stick with the original version as the REDUX is a broken and poor gimmick (2D and 3D wise - another money grab scheme). I don't get it why developer don't look to others and try to follow their model. I don't say be 100% CD Projekt Red but at least try to mimic it!
These days, gaming has become a MONEY grab and the "Entertainment Industry"... Gone are the days when people crafted games for FUN and PURE gameplay... Everything is now translated in MONEY and investor PROFIT and so on. Sad really :(

I'm also going to add that a fix is not as simple and straight forward as I had hoped it would be. No shader headers. Shadows fix is dependent on FOV multiplication (or conversion to projection space), and even though I'm pretty certain I tracked down one of the matrices, the results were not coming out correct, and I decided that it simply wasn't worth spending any more time over.
