nvidia 3d bad information to consumers to increase sales
2 / 2
researching is great, as long as the info is presented in a mannor in which it can be understood by the average consumer. Nvidia has a long history of complaints in regard to the implimentation of Nvidia 3D Vision, from gathering the required components (gc, screen, cables) and then how to fix problems once everything is hooked up.
When i bought my kit i was sure that i had bought everything i needed only to find out that the GC i had would only work for 3d video playback............thats funny as after replacing a gc i find that the screen is not certified for bluray 3d playback............another "hidden" fact that nividia "forgot" to mention.
My point is i do agree that you really need to do your homework here as N is not very forthcoming in ALL the facts regarding their 3d method.
Once the dust settles ill probley use my sammy to hang on the bedroom wall as a reg tv screen, i will purchase a bigscreen 3d tv to play all 3d content on. Nvidia has forced my hand as i no longer trust or can relie on their tech to work as advertised, they have really shot them selfs in the foot here and have no one else to blame when their tech is left at the wayside for more practiacal applications which dont sell on lies and missinformation.
Im not going to run out and start buying ATI cards (they do have some wonderfull cards) because of poor 3d advertising, read the ati forums and they have their own problems too, ill stick with Nvidia cards, at least untill they drive their 3d into the ground. If you go back 20 or so pages in the 3d forums (one year or so ago) you will see the these same issues and to date not much has changed in regards to how they will adress this issue............only once the whole forum is up in arms wil you see any type of responce to anything from Nvidia............through the mods, never in any offical capacity.
More people will complain, some will go to the BBB and complain (may have some effect-was done befor) but for the most part i see Nvidia letting this tech die at this point and letting the tv manufactors blaze the trail into the 3d frontier.
yea, OP is sort of correct. There isn't much obvious information clearly available in straightforward places that clarifies everything with regards to 3d. However, almost all information can be found, many times through forums, by searching online. There are these forums, then there are the hardforums, 3DVision blog forums, avsforums, blu-ray forums, cyberlink forums, etc. Many places to look for answers, but sometimes it takes some time and patience.
I find it interesting to read in the forums for questions about how, or what happens or as it goes. But when something as clear and odjetiva minimum requirements must be available to the consumer, the sales page.
Dual DVI GRAPHICS CARD with minimal requirements.

I understand your point and appreciate your response. Ultimately, I would much rather have a poorly-supported advanced technical capability such as 3D than have nothing at all because the product cannot live up to a standard desired by the 'average consumer'.
