New 3D TV question
Hi all, I have a new 4K 3DTV arriving on Thursday. I am hoping to play my 3D bluray movies through my PC. I am very confused by the software available. I just have PowerDVD 11 Ultra, is this all that is required?

Excuse my ignorance, but why would Nvidia say that I need 3dtv play. Is this just for games?

PowerDVD should work without it, I believe.

I had thought you needed 3DTV Play too. Not sure why, maybe to complete the HDCP chain.

Thanks guys. Worked a charm. I want 4k output from my gtx 780. Hdmi only lets me output at 30hz. Will a display port to hdmi allow me 60hz?

I don't believe 3d supports 4k output.

HDMI 2.0 is required for 4K 60Hz. Your TV probably doesn't have HDMI 2.0. DisplayPort 1.2 HBR2 can do 4K @ 60 Hz with SST, but I don't think there are any DisplayPort to HDMI 2.0 adapters.

My TV is HDMI 2. Unfortunately there are no GFX cards that currently support HDMI 2 hence 30hz at present. There is a converter box due apparently, I'll hang fire!

Remember to play with the separation in PowerDVD or the TV to get great window-to-a-world 3D from your movies. Same with games, but using depth and convergence.

It will push the entire image forward or back a bit, but you'll lose part of the image on each side of the screen, and it won't increase the actual depth of the scenes themselves.
