Acceptable stereoscopic 3D for Alienware OptX 2310?
2 / 3
[quote name='Calistus' post='1122439' date='Sep 26 2010, 02:17 AM']I've got that set up, I'm thinking it's the video card's driver or the stereoscopic 3D driver.
Just to start clearing things up, here are pictures of what's going on:
Dumb question but do you have the 3Dvision kit with the transmitter and glasses? I only ask because you didn't mention them.
If so, is your ir transmitter plugged in with the green light on? Looks like the error I get on my laptop when I forget to plug in the transmiter. Another thing it could be is when you run the setup wizard, are you choosing your monitor or does it say 3d vision discover. A couple of time I just hit next next next and my monitor wasn't selected by default.

The transmitter works fine and the light changes, glasses work, I select the monitor properly as seen in the top left of one of the images. I've gone over all the basics with the hardware, I'm almost certain it's the monitor settings/software.

Are you using the Dual Dvi cable that came with the Alienware or your old cable, if you are using your old cable change it
Also are your Applying the chages in Nvidia Control panel

Hmmm...the only thing I can think of is maybe something went wrong with the setup wizard? You can try doing that again.
Also, maybe try plugging your IR transmitter into a different USB port? I know I've had issues with USB ports in the past causing weird hardware issues.
When you run the setup wizard are you able to see the different shapes closing each eye and the 3d image of the box in the corner?

Retried setup wizard a good 15 times. No luck changing USB port. Different shape effect is only partially applied during the test (I can still see a faded but apparent overlay of the shape that's supposed to be missing).
