Hi guys,
Today i attempt to plug my new GTX 1080 on my Optoma GT720 projector in order to play games in 3D vision.
Unfortunately, the gtx1080 only have a DVI-D connector so my DVI-I to VGA adaptator doesn't work to plug my GT720 projector as usual.
My question is : Could i play 3D vision on my GT720 with my GTX1080 with a special adaptator (a simple DVI-D to VGA) or i must put my videoprojector in the dishes ?
I need a signal at 120 hz and a resolution of 1280*720 for my projector.
Please if someone have the same problem and if there is a solution i will be very happy if you share it.
Thanks

Thanks but i was thinking that the HDMI only output 3D vision in 24 Hz ?
Edit : OK i was a noob in 720p i can play at 120 hz, so i will try with a hdmi cable.
Thanks a lot D-Man11
Your projector is HDMI 1.3 and only supports Field Sequential via 3D Vision.
So you have no worries.
You're thinking of 3DTV Play, which is "officially" limited to Frame Packed 1080P@24Hz via a HDMI 1.4 connection.
Hi,
I ve tried with my hdmi cable, it doesn t work.
unable to set a 1280x720 resolution in 120 Hz the projector don't recieve the signal :-(
Do you think i ve to change my cable for a quality hdmi 1.4 cable ? Or the hdmi 1.3 on the projector will be unable to received a 1280*720 *120Hz signal ?

Not sure if it would help or not to try setting it to it's native resolution... then again, it might need to be 720p for 3D?
Native Resolution WXGA (1280 x 800)
Maximum Resolution UXGA (1600 x 1200), 1080p
3D Compatibility 120Hz frame sequential 3D for resolutions up to 720p, 60Hz field sequential 3D for resolutions up to 480i
...iirc I had issues when setting up my DLP HDTV, also HDMI 1.3, using a regular HDMI cable. It was a long time ago but I'm pretty sure it took switching from HDMI to a DVI to HDMI cable to get it to work at the time, the 3D Vision Kit does come with one.

It might be software locked when using HDMI at 720P, my LG projector has this problem.
Have you tried other resolutions such as 1280x800 or 1366x768?
If you are trying a custom resolution, use cvt reduced blank.
If 120Hz doesn't work try 119 or 110 to see if the signal is received.
Hi,
today i recieved my new 12.5 meter hdmi cable certified 4K and 1.4 compatible and all is working fine.
I ve got a 1280*720 at 120 hz signal and the 3D is activated.
So it was my cable who was not able to support the signal.
Thanks for youre help.

Use a DVI to HDMI adapter or a DVI to HDMI cable.
Or, HDMI to HDMI
Or Display Port adapter to HDMI.

Have you tried your desktop or a 2D game at 120Hz.
You cable should be fine, 720P doesn't require very much bandwidth.
