SOMA: 3D Vision Support Thread
  17 / 35
Quick update: I played around 30 minutes in SLI/Single Screen and is working perfectly fine. Using 355.98 on Windows 10. So... I wonder what happens there... Out of curiosity are you using Steam overlay ? Try to disable it or any overlay and see if things go better. The only overlay I am using and I know it works is from Share (Ex:Shadoplay), comes with GFE beta... This I know it works. I had weird experiences with others so maybe this is what you are seeing?

Yes, I'm using Steam overlay for FPS. However, I've tried to run SOMA without Steam at all (renaming Soma_NoSteam.exe -> Soma.exe) and things were exactly as with Steam... What is worst in my situation, is that i KNOW how SOMA could run and that my system IS CAPABLE of doing so... :( Have you looked at video i've posted in my previous post?

I can see the strobe-ing image, but that is what I expect when you are filming a 60hz refresh rate monitor with a 240fps camera;) You see how the screen refresh. Or... this is not the problem? Can you elaborate the problem? Except this I found everything fine. I know the place, that is in the lab with the proto ark yes? I played that one a few hours ago and everything was OK. Out of curiosity are you using VSYNC ON in game? try to set it to OFF. What happens if you record with Shadowplay? does the video come out OK?

Pretty sure this one eye-lagging problem is driver related in recent drivers. Same problem that is really obvious with single card does happen for me in SLI. Currently using 355.82. It's most obvious during cutscenes, but I think this happens at other times. I've seen this in GTA5 for example, for just a moment. Best bet is to switch to better, older drivers. At a minimum, try 350.12.

With my setup, including verion 3.6 Beta of SOMA patch, I am experiencing hard crash Outside Omicron, after throwing switches to provide power to terminal. After about a minute or so after activating the site power, I get the following error message: Shader Compile FAILED:ShaderID:984 followed by some type of program dump (sometimes see ID:975, also). In order to proceed, I had to remove the entire patch. Has anyone else experienced this problem? By the way, I am still having difficulty running EVGA's Precision X 16 app with SOMA mod, also. I usually must disable Precision X 16 before playing SOMA (fortunately, the game does not require heavy GPU loading, so cooling is OK). The SOMA mod looks great and performs well, in general! Thanks for the great effort.

I want to see which one it is:) I haven't got that far with the second play so it might take a while. Regarding Precision X... Use MSI Afterburner (is way more stable than Precision anyway) and use the following settings in RivaTunner Server:

@Bo3b: thanks for explanation and suggestion. However, with 350.12 drivers SOMA won't event start (black screen and nothing happens)... @Helifax: when I see through right eye, I clearly see one main object, and then there is slightly less opaque copies of that object displaced with something like 10 pixes or so (when moving, in static everything is OK). In my video (closer to the end) you can see that image "jumps" a bit (few times) - when this is at 60 FPS, it very clearly visible. I really don't know how to describe it better... Double-objects perhaps is best explanation I can come with... As to VSYNC setting - I've tried all possible variations of in-game and nVidia Control Panel settings. Also tweaking Windows Display Options in the process. Nothing I've tried did a slightest difference...

All I see is a constant flick... which is cause by the refresh rate as mentioned above. Without a PROPER video or screenshot I can't see what you see. Can you make a recording with shadowplay(or fraps) and share it? I try to understand what you say but I haven't seen this issue, like never:)) and I am trying to understand what is happening there. Is this problem appearing only in that location? Does it appear in previous locations? (Load an older save-game).
helifax - thanks for the MSI Afterburner/RivaTuner suggestion. Autosave file (without .jpg):
I just tried your savegame. Everything went fine. I was able to reach Omicron just fine. No crashes. Also are you using the latest version (3.65) or a previous one? (You can find the actual version in the splashscreen in the title bar). Try to disable overlays (including Steam). That is a shader compilation problem and any type of overlay might interfere with this. For the recording this was tested on Windows7, 355.60 drivers(880M) and Windows10 355.60 drivers(2x780Ti). EDIT: I made a quick Beta patch to the wrapper to see if it still generates this error you are seeing. Try to run the game with the attached wrapper. (Just replace the opengl32.dll with the one from the attachment and tell me if the problem goes away;)).

Interesting. Still getting crashes. Yes - using latest version (per splashscreen). No overlays running (like Steam), no other programs running. I am using Windows 8.1, with driver 355.82, i7-4960X, GTX 980 Ti.

@Helifax: sync issue is omnipresent. No matter how many times I load savegame or restart my PC. The place in video is just where I did last save on a day when everything worked PERFECT for the first time... OK, I see my video is very bad :) I do agree. I've tried to make recording with FRAPS (the same day), however, when I hit record button everything starts to stutter as hell, so I decied video of such quality would be quite useless... As to Shadowplay - never used it before. Gonna try and report.

Windows 7- to 10, different driver sets. No crashes, no sync problems. Like you said it worked before until the next day. Something tells me something changed in your machine. Windows updates? or new software? You just updated to win10 but on Win7 worked correctly. Perhaps try to set up Win7 on a different partition and see if is the same? I really have no idea as I cannot replicate any of the issues.
