Best TV for 3D non-gaming
There are many options for TVs including plasma and 4k. What is the best TV for watching 3D entertainment? According to the 3D vision system requirements the only compatible HDTV is Mitsubishi DLP Home Theater TV. That TV runs on a lamp which reviewers have complained about having to frequently replace. http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-system-requirements.html Is that website outdated? I have read about people using nvidia 3D on other TVs. Please share your experiences and recommendations concerning the best setup for watching blue-ray and netflix in 3D. I have a GTX 750 Ti video card. I am looking for a TV that is 40-50 inches. Thanks!

Honestly, the simplest way to watch 3d movies and netflix is to do it through standalone players. 3D Vision/3D TV Play are great for gaming, but you'll have an easier time with video without getting a PC involved.

No one has made Rear Projection DLP TVs since probably early 2013. That being said, there is nothing wrong with the technology, and you don't have to replace bulbs that often (and when you do, its basically like a new TV). Problem at this point is reliable service, as there are more moving parts than LCDs. Pretty much all the Nvidia guides about 3D Vision are old and outdated. And now software programs like ArcSoft for Blu-ray playback are discontinued as well. HTPCs use for the usage you talk about is becoming a hard-niche environment.
