3D Vision discontinued?
It has become very quiet around Nvidias 3D Vision in the last months in the mainstream media. I am about to buy a new PC and planned to use 3D Vision with my 3D-Projector. But there are only a few hardware dealers left, who have the 3D Vision Kit in stock. So, I am very concerned about the future support of the 3D Vision system and would like to know: Does Nvidia plan to discontinue 3D Vision? Or is it just the silent gap to the “next big thing” like Light Field Glasses, VR Direct or something else?

Nvidia did it already, but sill support it slightly. 3D comunity at this forum fix games last year or so and do it very successfully. But basicly you have no choice, because there is no better option for 3D gaming than 3D Vision at the moment. Don't worry: all famous AAA-titles usually get their optimization for 3D gaming from 3D comunity at descent quality lvl. the only thing here is delay - you are getting 3D support for biggest part of game after some time - few weeks or monthes depends on fixing complexity and title popularity

There's been no news of nVidia discontinuing 3D Vision. It's not being supported particularly well as Kyson notes, but thanks to the hard work of a number of community wizards, many recent games are supported. Check out http://helixmod.blogspot.com/ to see the newest fixes.

Also I doubt it since Nvidia has just announced 3d vision support for Oculus Rift with their new cards, that's far from discontinuing the product. Besides, they just recently released the compatibility mode and updates profile status frequently, so it looks like they still care for it, all that together with the incredible work of the modders here, I think 3d vision will be around for quite some time.

Wait guys,... did I miss something here? I was also under the impression that Nvidia recently badged 3D Vision as 'legacy.' Was that not official?

Kyson, that is one dumb comment. I guess by your logic it's ok it has been broken for 1/2 a year then! 3D films are amazing on a decent setup just because you don't like it doesn't mean it shouldn't work.

And that's why people don't have a clue of what is 3D gaming: they think they know what it is (often a useless feature) because of all these flat 3D movies.
