DirectX 9 nice, I really hope it works or it gets fixed, I also played it on 3ds but never finished it since the the circle pad thing was so annoying, so this PC port was great news to me.

As a game, was it any good? I did a little research on this one, sounds potentially interesting.

Its supposedly closest thing to old series and good. Though I am not sure if peoples expectations in a handheld game are lower[because they are] or true. Too much bias for me to tell from what I read. I hope the massive hud that I see in screenshots can be shrunken or map toggleable. It might be possible to make a hud toggle but I hope it doesnt come to that. Not to mention thats probably a 1080P screenshot and is much more dominant on 720p. Its pretty massive and doesnt hug corners, pretty much center of screen.

The game itself is very good. I totally enjoyed it when it was released on the 3DS. This game definitely gives you the full Resident Evil experience. The only drawbacks for me were the main enemy type (jelly-like water-creature. I would have prefered Zombies as the main enemy type) and the weapon upgrade system. Instead of upgrading a specific weapon you apply perks on the different weapons and you can also reapply them. So you don't have to decide carefully how you level your weapons because you can swap those perks (+20% damage, +15% faster Reload, +20% Ammo capacity etc.) any time after you applied them to a weapon. Since the weapon upgrade systems in RE4 and RE5 were absolutely perfect in my opinion I didn't like the upgrade system in Revelations. All in all RE: Revelations is an awesome game that anyone who has the slightest interest in the RE-series should play!

What I've played so far I like it, the dialog is a bit silly at times ... ok downright idiotic at times ... but I rarely ever play games for the story anyway, and sometimes it's even funny. Don't get me wrong I have had games suck me into the story but I usually don't even bother reading documents and the like in games. Just give me atmosphere and good gameplay and I'm pretty content. You do have partners at times but there's been a lot of time spent alone in the game, which I like, nothing takes away from the atmosphere more than some idiot saying "Me and my ..." oh no wait that part made me chuckle. Don't want to spoil it for anyone. Lol. I definitely like it better when you're alone in the RE series, RE4 had me right up to the point where I was 'managing' Ashley. I poked around in the options there isn't a way to turn off the map, etc. on the 3ds anyway. Which 3ds did you play it on? Regular or XL? Circle Pad Pro? I'm playing it on an XL, it's small but I can't imagine playing it at half that size. I actually like the tank controls, w/o the extra pad, and I switched the aiming from first person to third person. I like the whole game in third person much better.

Later when I got the XL I started a new walkthrough without the Circle pad of course. I found the controls with the circle pad to be much better although I als enjoyed my second walkthrough because of the bigger screen....

The demo is almost perfect in 3D, there's the usual HUD and crosshair issues but everything else looked great to me. You guys should definitely check out the demo. I'll attach a few screenshots for you to check out too. Hopefully this will be really easy for someone that knows what they're doing to fix.

Sick. Didnt think there would be a demo. Im still worried how that hud is gonna look on my 720P. I still dont know why it doesnt hug corners. It looks like Dark Souls 2 before helix fixed it all over again. I havent really messed with huds in resizing and stuff but I might have to = / Or maybe I am a big baby lol. Edit: Its not that bad. In some ports 720p huds can be massive.

The HUD really doesn't bother me much @1080p, just the crosshair and there's this 'scanning' thing you do that's like multiple crosshairs ... bugs me that the cutscenes are in 2D just because the weren't on the 3ds. The game seemed to handle convergence well too, didn't break anything as far as I could tell.

Wow, this should of been easiest patch... nope. Seperating crosshair had to be by coordinates = /. Im sure Helix knows a better way but if not and hes reading this, its seperated. If people want to play demo with this go ahead. Im not sure if Helix is interested in game but it basically only needs one fuction. A seperate setting for C [Scanner] or force hud shaders in depth while C is active [1] then when press C again it disables[2]. Problem is i cant get newest debug's dx9settings to work with game which I need for Scanner. I also cant change hud depth because of the "map" but that would of been an optional type thing. So basically here https://s3.amazonaws.com/HelixMods/RETEMP/shaderoverride.zip F2 Disable crosshair F3 Crosshair in depth F4 Crosshair in depth further If no one can figure it out a better solution in like week after game release Ill try to see if possible to sort out that scanner jigsaw puzzle.

Nice one, you beat me to it - I started this last night as well, got as far as putting cross-hair at fixed depth then fell asleep looking for a depth_map to make the cross-hair dynamic. Do you plan on looking at dynamic cross-hair, if so I won't bother? That scanner is crazy as well :-)

Do what you want I got tons of games to do. If I ever post something not on site, Im not happy with what I did pretty much. I honestly never mind anyone taking over anything if they can do it better. Did you figure a better solution to crosshair? I admit what I did was messy but effective. Cant seperate it just by texture since its a "group". Im kind of curious what your solution was. Also cant figure out why newest d3d9.dll is not working properly. [dx9settings] I dont think you will be able to do anything with dynamic crosshair till you figure that out though since old dll doesnt have necessary function. Do a search/replace on shadow with jibberish[whatever] with notepad++. Sort by date and put them in your pixelshaders folder till you find which one. It might not work if they dont use shadow header but I dont see it that often. I actually had a bit of practice with depth buffer crosshair but unfortunately it breaks with convergence. (It does respond to objects) *Not this game*

More importantly, is the game itself any good?
