Hey All,
I have 2 Acer X1261P but are getting really old now. I would like to get 2 new DLP Projectors that are 3D vision capable.. I know they are NO new Certified ones so capable will have to do..
Looking around I seen no new threads on this but was wondering what is out now that I could use in a 3D Surround vision setup.. I will be needing 2 with the following capabilities:
1. Short Throw.
2. 3D Vision capable @ 720P
3. Around 4-600 USD!!
4. HDMI 1.4 complient..
it could be long throw but I am unsure what of todays DLP PRojector are capable of using 3D vision without wearing glasses upsidedown.. If that is even possible..
I do not want to buy an older Projector as I already have that. I would like to get some NEW Projectors if possible..
Not sure what to add but I need at least 2 Projectors..

Acer H5380BD now I seen a thread here but am unable to still find it but I read this works with 3D Vision and an EDID hack where you don't need to where the glasses upside down..
Now the cool thing with 3D Migoto and a DX11 game I can reverse the eyes with 3D Migoto so it really will not matter as I only play 2 dx9 games any more..
So even if I didn't use 3D Migoto to reverse the eyes will this Projectoir worek with the EDID hack and not have to wear the glasses upside down.
They are on sale right now for under 400bucks USD and I would really like to get 2 of them.. for one because they are brand new and run at 720P which will be a boost in my Graphics a bit and I think they are short throw too but not real sure either wasy they are new and while the ones I currently have a getting old and falling apart..
I was going to buy 2 new bulbs for the Acer 1261P Proj. but if these new Projectrs will work I may just save for them and get 2 soon..
So what does the experts say???

Hi D-Man11, I know about that Projector central website I was just wondering if that projector will work with 3D vision.. I read it will with a EDID OVeride but am not totally 100% sure it will and I can not find the thread I read before..
So I made this thread in the hopes whomever is using it can tell me for sure if it works or not with 3D Vision..

I bought a H5380BD last year, but sent it back. If you are using the NVidia 3D Vision glasses, you need to swap the eyes. That cannot be done with the projector settings itself. Would likely work using SBS support in 3Dmigoto, that didn't exist at the time I tried.
That projector is normally setup to use DLP glasses and 3D TV Play.

Well this is not good. I looked on NVidia site for Projectors that are certified all I am seeing is older ones.. I did try and locate some used projectors but not having any luck..'
What about the Acer z650 Predator I think it is??
by the way bo3b how do you like the Acer h5360??

How about the DepthQ 3D Projector it says it it 3D Vision certified and it definitely does frame sequential??
https://www.amazon.com/DepthQ%C2%AE-HDs3D2-Definition-Stereoscopic-Lightspeed/dp/B01ESQP92K
Well I am in contact with DepthQ and the Tech guy is gonna try and setup 3D Surround with the DepthQ HD 3D Projector..
I will report if this will work or not so I am crossing my fingers..
just look at Q&A of DepthQ site:
Q: Will the DepthQ® HDs3D2 accept a 120Hz input at 1920x1080?
A: No. Due to data rate limitations of the HDMI connection, it is not possible to send 120 frames per second (60 stereo pairs per second) to the projector at 1920x1080 resolution. However, you can send the projector 1920x1080 @ 60Hz (30 stereo pairs per second) and the projector will double-flash the display up to 120Hz.
When in double-flash mode with a 1920x1080 @ 60Hz input from a computer source, the L>R R>L Eye-Coding will be selected randomly upon projector sync. You may have to use your 3D app to change the stereo polarity (swap eyes) to correct for pseudo-stereo. Exiting the app or otherwise causing the projector to re-sync will again choose a random eye-coding. This is normal.

I looked it was not exactly clear.. that particular question was asked at a Resolution of 1920 x 1080 NO Projector can do that..
it states in the specs it does 1280x720 @ 120 hz and does Frame sequential..
Now the HD1 did have 3D vision certification.. but at the time that projector was over 5grand..
So you need to comprehend what you read ;)

Wrong, every projector can do it. Do you really think that you are watching movies at 24Hz per eye? They repeat frames to obtain 120 frames, which is exactly what that answer states.
The problem lies in accepting 120 frames "input" at 1080P, most can't. Some can, but they are stupidly high priced.
So yah, it's not a matter of him comprehending what he is reading...

The lowest priced projector that I'm aware of that might accept 120 frames input, is that LG Ultra Short Throw that offers a checkerboard format. They would be half frames, if it indeed works at 1080i60.
But I don't think that you can warpalize the image out of one of them onto a curved screen.

hey D-Man I am talking about 3D vision running at 1920 x 1080 @120 hz is a nog go for a Projector with 3D vision.. so Please keep it withing 3D vision.. I am not talking about running a 3D blu ray rez..
There is not 3D Projector that can 3D vision run 1920 x 1080 @ 120hz.. so that is that I don't care what you say ansd if the guy at Depthq is going to run the test and it works well I thinbk I solved problems of there being no 3D Projectors that work properly with 3D vision..
I do not know where you guys get your info but with 3D vision it only runs @ 1280x720 @ 120hz..

Well perhaps instead of simply typing "that", you should spell out specifically what you mean.
Also, once again, as I stated above, there are projectors that "Can" work with 3D Vision at 1920x1080@120Hz Frame Sequential.
Well if you would have read my OP you might have been in on the Discussion.. I am referring ONLY to getting it to work with 3D Vision in Surround mode..
I have never seen or heard of a DLP PRojector that works with 3D Vision @ 1920 x 1080@ 120hz with 3D Vision..Plus there are NONE on the NVidia certified list.. and I am not talking 3D TV Play.. or running with DLP Glasses.. this is STRICTLY 3D VISON.. if you have some magical Projector that can I am all ears..
But moving on I had gotten a email back from DepthQ and he said he had Surround working but no 3D vision but he said it did not light up because he does not have a 3D Vision kit Well Dyh.. he said he will get the kit by Thursday or Fridat, Fingers still crossed..
