@D-Man11, 2016 LG LED and OLED TVs are mostly around 35 ms (up to 50), 2015 are a little higher but adequate, before 2015 it's mostly bad (higher than 55), but some models are close to 2015 models with fine tuning to settings.
Personally if lag is under 50 ms then I'm good. S3D experience in 4K blinds my eyes for other disadvantages. Currently only time I use a 3DV monitor is for competitive games and problematic games.
Funny you mention that
I have the Lg OLED55C6T...
Suggest you start with this discussion: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/943900/3d-vision/search-information-about-edid-for-3dvision-on-lg-oled-4k-55ef950v-55ef9500-/post/5069058/#5069058. You really should sit as close as possible to the screen (good 3D across entire screen surface, probably around 4 ft), and you probably need at least 1080 (1080Ti preferred). One of the best 3D gaming experiences possible - see bo3b's suggested ranking: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1041002/3d-vision/i-am-the-new-one-spending-3000-euro-on-3d-rig-need-help/post/5307979/#5307979 (includes great discussion about vergence and screen size).
I've just been using my 3D tv for 3d Movies and playing around with the Lg Settings and there eye swap etc, my suburb is still stuck with ADSL so i cant stream my computer to the Tv so i cant use Nvidia settings etc .. and since i live with my Aunt i can't put a nice compfy single reclining chair in the middle of the living room "though i'd probs put a treadmill there lol" or a large ethernet cable across the floor..
The best seems to be dual projection "Same as a cinema".. probs when i'm 40 and i have a good career "so 50/50 chance" Good thing i don't want a Car collection anymore.. its 3d collection now lol ..
Motion blur reduction is also an important feature that all 3D Vision 2 monitors have (Lightboost). The LG 4K TVs (at least the most popular one) have full 60Hz persistence. Before being a 3D nut I was a motion blur nut, and anything over 2ms persistence is bad for my taste (60Hz persistence without strobing is 16.667ms).
The Asus PG278QR and Dell S2716DG don't have real strobe length settings in 3D and you are forced to have ~2ms of persistence (equivalent of Lightboost 100%), instead of the 1.4ms of previous non G-Sync monitors (Lightboost 10%). That's pushing it for me, but the higher resolution and real 8 bit colors put the PG278QR over my old BenQ XL2411Z.
not sure if i even know what persistence is... since i don't think some people notice, since they are suggesting my passive 3d tv is the best lol
good thing you say the Asus PG278QR is still better then your old BenQ .. the asus is still a lot lower then 16ms of my LG.. so I'll then be able to tell what persistence is when; once i get it, i got hardly anything to compare.. need to see things in real life. the only other 3d i have is my N3DSXL "hacked for more then 200 free games, use 3DS.GUIDE and GBATEMP for info" and 3d Posters /o/ , have them everywhere lol, even the rare Bioshock 2 3d Poster ..though both are "Inwards" 3d , not outwards like dual projection i see at the 3d movies . "my 3ds seems the best inwards atm and is even the rare IPS version of the 3ds"
Anyway i think i have enough info .. First buy this Asus PG278QR and enjoy it, Second wait for Fibre in my suburb and later set up whatever Lg Tv 6 series i currently have at the time to my PC and play on that too. Third ..If i'm luckly and have enough $$$$ buy and setup dual projectors or the Planar SD2220W monitor ..or whatever even is the best 3D in 17 years lol
