6DB@ you can't use 3D-hubplayer for CM... maybee Tridef..
Anyway.. I couldn't resist it, so here is Hollow Knight in real 3D !
Use 3D-hubplayer and add "-window-mode exclusive" to the shortcut or in Steam's launch options.
This is one of those games where have to adjust convergence till you hit the right spot, I couldn't find a better profile, but it's not an issue anyway..
The game looks and plays great !!

Thanks much man, came here to see if anyone did this and glad to see it, purchasing now. The developers should thank you, got them another sale.

So lately I've been playing a number of paper cutout games. Hollow Knight is by far the best one, IMHO. The backgrounds have so many layers that, at times, it looks full 3D. The game is pretty hard, though.
After playing Candle which is a perfect example, I realized that this subgenre in 3D gaming is one of my (many) favorites.
Thanks for this suggestion. The outdoor areas looked pretty. But indoor areas only had 1 to 2 layers. The game was still fun, though.

Glad you're liking Hollow Knight :). I still didn't finish the game actually. I was stuck in a very hard optional (dream) boss at the top of City of Tears and also waiting for free expansions and then I kinda forgot about it. I'll finish it someday.
Cuphead is also a good layered 3D game (after applying my fix). Although it isn't as good as if the developers had made it with 3D geometry in mind, because texture filtering couldn't do magic for every case. Ori and the Blind forest may be my favorite (as in graphically impressive) of this type of 3D.

Forgotton Anne, is a real gem in this subgenre !
It's a reasonable priced cartoony adventure/ platformer, with very beautifull handdrawn backdrops !
It's Unity 5, and playable out of the box, just use -window-mode exclusive as usual, I also use a dephthack to push some more distance between the layers!
The press' opinion:
“This game is nothing short of beautiful…Forgotton Anne is one of the standout experiences of the year so far and for good reason”
9/10 – GameReactor
“It's a game which will win you over with its huge amount of heart...Forgotton Anne is brilliant”
Recommended – Eurogamer
“Every moment has the potential to be a stunning screenshot. It's really remarkable and potentially eye-opening”

There's a really neat looking game recently announced, called Inmost. It's an atmospheric, story driven, puzzle platformer releasing in 2019.
I'm hoping that it will be 3D like Radical Heroes: Crimson City Crisis
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhVEgxwmlXg
That moment when you're messing around with stuff and get the game you had given up on and played through in 2D to work in gloriously layered 3D... *facepalm*
The game is called RIVE, it's an amazing little side-scroller/platformer/shmup...
https://store.steampowered.com/app/278100/RIVE_Wreck_Hack_Die_Retry/
You have to either create a Profile for it using NPI with the StereoProfile(0x1) and the StereoTextureEnable(0xA3) flags or add it to the Stone Giant Profile and then just tweak Convergence in-game
Edit:
Win7:
NPI > New Profile > RIVE
StereoProfile = 0x1
StereoTextureEnable = 0xA3
Win10:(if Win7 instructions fail to work)
NPI > New Profile > RIVE
StereoProfile = 0x1
StereoTextureEnable = 0xA3
StereoMiscFlags = 0x00000006
Rive.exe > Properties > Compatibility > Disable Fullscreen Optimizations

https://store.steampowered.com/app/683320/GRIS/

It's a rather simple platformer, but the art work is nice.
Thx DHR for making the universal fixes for Unity as well as for UE4.

Oh man, I never even heard of this game before. Looks beautiful. I think things like these should also be posted in the Helixmod blog. maybe not as a fix but as a simple guide to make it work. Whenever I try to buy a game I check the blog first to make sure there is a fix. If i don't see one I may be put off buying it. I'm afraid with some being fixed with the universal fixes and what not I might miss them.
I still think any game playable in 3D should be listed there. Either by a shader hacker fix, Simple guide, or Universal fix someone random discovered. :)

You're right, there are so many titles, that either works out of the box, or works with one of the universal fixes, that you can't find on the blog!
Something should be done about it, but it's rather tedious and forgetable to make a post every time...
Maybe we could do something like a shared post or... does anyone have a good idea ??
Btw Forgotten Anne is an amazing 2D layered game, just buy it :)
