Resident Evil 7

I'm not sure the exclusivity really does hurt the VR industry when it's this small. The thing with VR right now is that the install base is tiny. Without a publisher (Sony) paying for exclusivity, it's probably not profitable to even develop a VR mode. I'm pretty sure it's a timed exclusivity anyway, for a year.

Hello, guys! Does anybody else have an issue with RE7 that the game won't exit normally? After exit I see black screen and nothing works. I even can't open Task Manager. I'm on recent Forceware drivers and have applied Helifax CM profile. After the last crash Steam lost installation of RE7 and now re-downloading 20 GB anew :((( Thanks.

The black screen issue has been happening to me in lots of games with or without 3D vision enabled but it occurs more often when I'm exiting games I've been playing with 3D enabled. A simple fix is to reset the display either by re-plugging the monitor or by switching to another refresh rate using Hotkey Resolution Changer. This issue has been happening ever since I switched to Windows 10 iirc so now I'm always running that HRC program on Windows startup with two hotkeys enabled, one for 120hz and one for 144hz. Switching to another refresh rate always fixed this issue for me so next time you get that black screen you should try this workaround. Cheers

That's good to know though I've been using Helifax's CM profile in RE7 and I've exited the game several times now without any issues but the black screen has happened to me 50+ times in 20+ games and with at least 10 different drivers, even in old games that have no 3D support. It always seemed to me that it's an nVidia and Windows 10 issue.

Thanks for responces, guys! I've tried disabling 3D before exiting game - that was first thing I have tried :) But black screen still occurs... The only solution I have is to press power button and shutdown PC. This way Steam won't lost RE7, at least :)

Have you tried my workaround with switching refresh rates using HRC? This is the only thing working for me and it happens regardless of the game played and whether or not 3D vision was activated in CP. Forcing your PC to shut down is not really a good long-term solution lol.

Yay! I just found very convenient workaround! Just ALT+ENTER to switch to windowed mode before exiting the game! :) This works just fine!

As for this "fish-eye" effect haven't seen it and I am playing in 3D Surround.. where normally there is something like this on the side monitors (extremities...) Can you show us a picture as we don't understand what you are talking about... :)

The effect of "fish eyes" in this game does not depend on Fov adjustment. You can clearly see the effect, if will stand at the door, and other direct objects. Climb to the bathroom on the second floor of the main house! Look at the tiles on the wall. You will see distortion of straight lines clearly. All geometry in the game a little distorted. The effect is like looking at the world through the lens! For this reason - there is a discrepancy 3D effects, and real objects in the game. The discrepancy is clearly seen on the edges of the screen. The farther from the center of the screen, the greater the distortion. I have not seen this before, not in one of the games. In the game there are pills that make you find that you need supplies. When you take these pills, the effect of "fish-eye changes and vice versa so -! 3D effect is perfect until you finish the ... action of tablets. I will try to take a screenshot ...

Chromatic aberration is not to blame. This is a very different effect. On 3D not as not affected. Pay attention to the bottle edge of the table, audio cassettes! Depending on the camera angle, 3D effect of shifts in different directions with respect to bottles and other objects in the game.
