Request: Option to invert left/right sync in future drivers updates
  1 / 3
I've been reading for months through many posts and articles here and all over the net
concerning users having problems with the left and right eye reversed when using 3D Vision
(including myself).

You estimate this problem shouldn't occur, but as you know, it actually occurs depending on hardware,
drivers versions, displays etc.! And in most cases there is no other way to fix it than
wearing the 3D glasses upside down !

So …
With all due respect, why don't you simply implement a checkbox in the Nvidia Control Panel,
under Set Up Stereoscopic 3D, for left and right image inversion?
Or
Why the correct sync wouldn't be set through the 3D Vision Set Up Wizard
according to what is answered for the left and right eye?! Wouldn't that make sense?

Don't you think it would be easier for you and for us users,
to resolve this problem once for all, by implementing such a simple feature?

Look, I've just done the biggest part of the job by making the UI for you in 5mn! /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
As I'm sure that's the time it will take for your devs to implement the code for this!

A simple checkbox would resolve all the sync inversion problems with any combination of GPU,
drivers, displays, software, version of DirectX etc. …

So, would you be so kind as to think about this Left and right eye swapping option
for the next drivers updates?

And please, anyone concerned by this issue please jump in and share your thoughts,
or simply put your "+1" so as to get Nvidia's attention.

Andrew, if you're reading this, I would appreciate if you could forward this humble request
to your engineers please.

Thank you

Not a checkbox, as the eyes could be swapped at any time. A hotkey would be much better.

I'm readin this but we will likely not add this as an option.

I'd rather fix the sync issues.

Can you give me more details on it?

Fixing the sync seems like the right way to approach it, especially since it might prevent new users from running into the problem. But, theres nothing worse than lack of customization. Great thing about options btw, they're optional.

The option would actually be of benefit to DLP link users.

It could always be added as an advanced feature just like you are treating convergence settings. Also a MonitorSize override could be put under advanced settings. How long has it been on the roadmap now?

Andrew, thank you for reading this thread.
My intention was not asking for help to fix my only case, that's the reason I didn't mention any detail about my configuration.
Besides I've been in contact with your support section and they did their best to try to find a solution.

Instead you could fix this kind of sync issue for all users at once with one click.
I'd like to know what's the reason such an evident and essential feature is not already present.
Was it complicated to implement? or didn't you imagine there would ever be any need for this ?

If you don't want to give users this as an option, why not consider the solution through 3D Set Up wizard?
The drivers would set the L/R sync according to what is seen with left and right eye instead of giving you an error !

Sure also a hotkey in addition, but in my case the eyes are permanently swapped.

And yes there should be as well a lot more customization, such as an advanced tab to fine tune sync delay to deal with ghosting among other settings.

Well, your request sounds like you're asking your car mechanic to add a crank to your car, so you can start it, instead of repairing the broken starter motor...

Well my "car" works flawlessly, nothing broken.
I'm just asking for a reverse gear!

Maybe you don't ever need this feature, but others do! /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

If you are using a display that uses DLP Link, you might try the TrueDepth3D glasses, they have a sync inverter on the glasses and are rechargeable. I've seen good reviews so far on them, be sure to check compatibility.
I agree, a sync inverter, where's the problem in adding it? So many displays or games have it built in, but not all.
Ever hear of "User Convenience"? A hot key would be ummmm, wait, too convenient?
I assume the problem is that tards may inadvertantly hit it and turn into sad gaming pandas.
Couldn't the hot-key be left blank, and only work if the user assigned a key?

Nvidia Inspector swapping does not work.
It seems it's only for legacy stereo drivers (XP).

With all due respect. This thread is now two years old, and people (like me) are still having this very exact issue of inverted eyes. Just put in that filthy checkbox please. This is annoying. I am on the verge of returning my 3D Vision Set as wearing my glasses upside down is not an option as it is REALLY easy to fix and annoys the hell out of people. Just look at the web. The forums and blogs are FULL of this problem..
