"We have internally tested that the game works with NVISION 3D very nicely."
Holy crap a developer who actually cares and tested?!:P Most either don't bother with 3d vision or just assume it will work straight out of box without them doing anything. Its nice they went the extra mile for us. May not be "3d ready" but I will take it.

As long as they've tested at more than the minimum separation and default convergence, since we've seen 3dvision ready games, which break on higher separation levels or unlocked convergence states. Regardless, it's been a long wait, but such an atmospheric game must be played in s-3d. Hopefully out in February doesn't mean Feb 29th /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Two weeks ago the release was dated for March. I was surprised this week when I heard from the February-release. So I guess it will be the last days of February.
But I have waited so long for this game - I don't mind a few weeks now.

Hopefully everything works correctly. I don't need another UnrealEngine3-like disappointment(DeadSpace, MassEffect2 for example).
Fog, Shadows, water-surfaces or effect-shaders have ever been a weak spot for S3D-gaming. And Alan Wake has a lot of shadows and fog. When the release happens we will see ... /unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I have high hopes for this game. When the xbox got exclusives to it i was crushed, id followed it for several years prior to the horrific announcement. Now that ive got a fairly decent rig im kind of glad it got pushed off as ill get to experiance it fully.....i hope

Ok, so the game runs rather well in 3D. There are some issues with lighting (spotlights and such are a bit off-set), but it all depends on the amount of debth being used and the same goes for some shadows. But it definitely is highly playable in 3D and at least for me SLI is working just as it should be (both gpu's are at 90+ usage all the time depending on the scene of course). Maybe we can fix those small 3D issues with the help of HeliX. The game also looks wonderful (never played the console version as I don't own a console and never will), but it definitely doesn't look nearly as good on any of the consoles as it does on the PC. So Remedy made a really wonderful job with this PC version (and as I've heard it's really not just a port, rather than more of a proper PC game with the same content which was on the consoles, and the expansions are of course included) The menus have all the standard stuff games like this have, but it also has some PC specific options included like AA, FXAA, SSAO, Godrays , shadow quality etc to adjust (even a slider to adjust FOV). Controls work very well, the only thing I found a bit weoird was that you can toggle the camera side from left to right by pressing TAB, so if your setting is on the left side and you press forward, Alan slightly wonders to the left instead of just going straight. But maybe this is included and useful in the game play mechanics later on as I just really begun the game.
Btw, how can I insert .jps pictures here? Imageshack for instance doesn't allow me to upload .jps files?

Well if I have to lower depth because of lighting and shadow issues then I am going to be disappointed. I notice on the Steam page it says "Works with NVIDIA NVISION2 Stereoscopic 3D." I guess maybe they didn't specify how well. The game doesn't unlock for me for another hour so I can't test it yet.

You should have no problems running it with everything @ max if your CPU is decent enough as I'm running it with 460's SLI with everything @ max (well noFXAA, but 8xAA is on)and the performance is just smooth as can be. This game is from Remedy after all, and they if anyone know how to optimize their engines. If I didn't know that this is actually a few year old console game, I would think that this is a PC only game.

The very first scene of the game I am in the streetlamp lights don't render properly. If you are looking for a 3D Vision Ready game this ain't it. I am a bit pissed off right now.

Got it, can most shadows are messed up aswell as some 2d effects.
Allso there's no way in hell i can run this at a solid 60fps with sli 570's, max settings with no aa af and i'm 99% on each card and anywhere from 30 to 60fps.
What the hells in this game that kills my pc so badly :(
Even with low settings i'm struggling to keep a 60fps, if i do'nt have 60fps in a game i do'nt play it, sad really as i'm now sitting here waiting for optimizations.
In a bag, 3d issues and low performance with 2x 570's and a i5 2500k@4.5ghz, even at low setting this runs like rubbish for me, using latest beta drivers, 295.51
It does max out my gpus, there's somethin in this game that eats gpu' for breakfast
