how to enable the IR transmitter when combined with a nvidia 3dtv projector?
Hello everyone, I have been using the nvidia 3d vision kit for a few years with great succes. Now I have bought the acer 5380bd projector and somehow the IR transmitter wont sent out any signals to the glasses when using 3d(the green light doesnt get brighter). When I use my LCD monitor the 3d works like it should, I have the newest drivers, and the software for 3dtv. The only difference I can see is what the nvidia control panel shows me, it is a 3d vision ready monitor vs a 3d play tv. When I use the installation wizard everything goes as it should except that when using the projector the IR transmitter wont work. Does anyone know what I can do to get it to work? According to the FAQs and KB it should work w/o any problems the way I have set it up. Thanks in advance. My setup I7-920 12gb DDR3 Nvidia Geforce GTX 295(dual DVI) When I use my LCD I use a DVI to DVI cable, for my projector I use the DVI to HDMI converter I got with my videocard, then I use a 10 meter HDMI 1.4 cable to my projector.

Have a try with your projector glasses to see if it works. 3dtv does not need to have the emitter on, nvidia sells it as a software only solution for 3d tv., but requires glasses that work with that 3dtv/projector.

Yes, you need to use the 3d glasses for the display device if you're using 3dtv play. For a projector that would be some DLP link glasses. The emitter only activate in 3d vision mode, i.e. 120Hz output from the computer. You might be able to use your emitter and 3d vision glasses if you use an EDID override from something like the acer 5360.

Thanks alot, I used the Acer h5360 EDID file and it worked like a charm. I used the EDID file from https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/467613/acer-h5360-edid-file/ and followed this guide to get it to work http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/7947-force-dvi-hdmi-resolutions-refresh-rates.html
