Nvidia give us checkerboard in the next WHQL driver
2 / 2
Lets all simmer down now lol
Andrew,
I have an nVidia 3D vision kit. I have a Samsung 3D LED TV that does checkerboard.
Now 3DTV Play as you know only does 720p 3D on my Samsung 3D LED TV. When I set a game to 1280x720 my Samsung TV automatically goes into 3D mode and promps me to put on my glasses...everything works perfectly.
Roller has created an ini file that tricks windows and the nvidia control panel to think I have a Samsung 3D DLP tv. What this does is when I fire up a game now and the nvidia 3D vision software turns on, I can manually on my TV remote select Checkerboard as the 3D type. Now I can game in 3D at 1920x1080p on my Samsung 3D LED TV.
The problem is, your software...the nvidia 3d vision software thinks I am using a Samsung DLP 3D TV so it looks to the vesa cable connection from my nvidia ir emitter to my Samsung DLP tv. But as stated I am not using a Samsung 3D DLP tv I am using a Samsung 3D LED TV and thus there is no where to plug in the Vesa cable. Therefore your software gives me the Red error message telling me to plug in the vesa cable to back of my dlp tv.
All roller and everyone else here wants, is for you guys to somehow disable that error message from popping up, if there is no vesa cable connted to the ir emitter.

Hi
Yes I committed to working on the feature and no I did not provide a release schedule. I know everyone thinks its easy and just one line of code, but its more than that.
There are also release planning schedules we need to get involved with - don't forget we support 100 million+ GPU owners with our drivers.
Just because I don't have a schcedule doesnt mean no one is working on it.
Please be patient it will take some time to implement - I apologize in advanced that it isnt a instant fix.
While we're waiting, can you tell us which DLL the error message bmp is in? Maybe we can go in and blank the error message. That would work for a good temporary fix. I know for a fact that is is NOT in nvstres.dll.

If you or anyone else wants me to build the circuit that suppresses the error message, I'll do it for $50 USD. That will include a standard 4 pin molex that connects to any molex power header from your power supply, and a two foot cable with the proper 3/32" connector that will go right into your emitter module. It will take about one week plus however long it takes the postal service, USA shipping addresses only.

Hi
I am confused as to what this thread is about now. It's title is about giving you checkerboard support in a WHQL driver.
Please explain to me more about the red warning message/samsung issues and if its an HDMI 1.4 Samsung.
Yes Andrew, I've created this thread to ask you to give us checkerboard mode in the next WHQL driver. I know about Roller's implementation but it's useless to me since I live in Brazil and I have no one that can make a hardware that suppresses the annoying red message Roller was referring about. Also, it would be much better for us to have checkerboard mode naturally implemented in the 3DTV Play software instead of us having to mod a ini file to fool Nvidia drivers to think our HDMI 1.4 Samsung TV's are HDMI 1.3 DLP/Plasma TV's.
Also, If you guys add checkerboard to 3DTV Play, then we have the choice to play games in 3D using 1080p24hz, 720p60hz frame packed or checkerboard 1080p60hz. It's good to have choices, cause if we use Roller's ini file, we're doomed to checkerboard and the only way to go back to frame packed 3DTV Play is replacing the ini file again. To much hassle, so it's better for you guys to solve this once and for all and give us the choice to use checkerboard.
I know it takes time Andrew, but how long, really??? Last time I came to this forum to request this and you said you're on to it and would consider adding checkerboard in the nvidia drivers was November 2010. Now it's April 2011. So, what do you really mean by it takes time, will it be available in a driver release til June 2011???
