MW2 issues
  1 / 2
Hi all,

after playing Dragon Age in 3D and having been completely blown away by the experience, I went ahead and got myself a copy of MW2. On startup it is rated as 'excellent', but in my opinion at least, it's a far cry from that. I get terrible ghosting (never was an issue with DA:O) and to be perfectly honest, the action is too fast to be actually able to focus on enemies most of the time. In the second snow storm level it pretty much feels like wading through milk with ridiculous ghosting from the very bright camp illumination-

Are you guys using the preconfigured profile settings set up by Nvidia for this title, or are there some must-do tricks like reducing depth/increasing convergence? I'm using the Samsung LCD.

imagine how it is online??

i simply can't play in 3d and its a shame. the sights are all wrong and even with the nvidia target on you have to back out of the settings so it sits right. that and the fact that, like you said, you can't focus quick enough to kill people. in 2d mode i'm usually somewhere at the top for kills, in 3d i'm at the bottom. i also don't think it's that impressive in 3d, not like some other games that completely WOW'd me.

so you're not alone, i'm not playing COD MW2 in 3d either, sticking to 2d. I just hope nvidia works with Infinity Ward and Tyrechard (however the hell you spell that) to make the COD series an excellent 3d experience for real. This is a AAA title and tbh i'm just surprised that 3d wasn't implemented in this game. nvidia's had the tech out long enough, i'm sure they must've pitched it to them. i wonder why they didn't implement 3d for the game. i know us th2g users had problems with Infinity Ward not implementing 3 screen support. The more time goes by the more i don't like Infinity Ward. They turned into just another console company really, damn shame :(

With the latest 3DVision driver 1.19, things have improved substantially. Sniper sights are now usable, I don't get a double vision anymore. Even the normal crosshair seems to work better now.
Ghosting is not a special problem of that game, rather a limitation of the current LCD technology, DLP projectors have no ghosting at all.
IMO the 3D experience of MW is excellent now, even if you will probably get better scores with 2D in MP.

I can say that i am extremley impressed with this game in 3D and would perhaps echo what Badone said in so far as there is no ghosting on a DLP beamer.

I use a Veiwsonic PJD 6211 and the 3D is the dogs twicher on this game.....much better than either COD WAW or MW1.

I've never see 3D on a monitor so can't comment on the ghosting but i very rarely get any ghosting these days.

Is there any way to minimize ghosing on an LCD?

The reason DLPs don't suffer from ghosting is due to the increased brightness of the LCD, and 'false' images penetrating the shade on the glasses, right?

No, it is the short persistence of DLP vs LCD that causes less ghosting.

Unfortunately things have gone worse again. After a steam update for MW2 the double vision on sniper sights is back again, making it useless in 3D.

Very disappointing, for the past 2-3 weeks, the game was very well playable in 3D.

Installing the newest driver CD didn't change that.

Hello NVIDIA, can we get a quick fix on that, I mean MW2 isn't really playable without the sights, so many sniper guns around in this game.

Since the game was updated, the correction NVIDIA made does not work anymore. Even if you use the F12 laser sight, the double vision is very irritating.
