3D Surround issues with @24hz on HDTV
Hey Guys -

I wasn't getting much help from the game manufacturer websites, and since this has been a problem with a few titles, I figured this might be a good place to post my issue.

Mainly the problem I am having is not being able to play certain titles because I can't specifically set their refresh rates to @24Hz (Gears of War, Trine and a few others). [s]I get the red text when entering the game saying 3D Vision does not support this refresh rate, and that I need to set it to @24Hz.[/s] Problem is, most of those games don't have the ability to do so, yet they are on the official 3D Vision Ready list. Games like Arkham Asylum, Mass Effect 2 and Battlefield BC2 are running fine on my TV.

So does anyone know a fix to this? Can this be setup in the nVidia drivers?

Any help you can offer would be most appreciated.

Thank You

LG

*** EDIT ***

Actually I had it backwards, when I start the game in question it tells me that 1920x1080 @ 60hz is not HDMI 1.4 compatible and that I need to switch the refresh to @24hz. Problem is, when I selct an HD 3D resolution in the nVidia control panel, it already says I am in @24hz. What to do? Hmmmm....

You need to set a valid (read either 1280x720@60Hz or 1920x1080@24Hz) in the game, doesn't matter what your desktop is set to.
A lot of games don't support 24Hz refresh rates, or at least don't expose them to the UI.

Refreshlock hasn't been updated in forever and as far as I know doesn't work with W7 64bit. Now, something like Rivatuner has resolution lock feature and is more up to date.
