Vizio XVT3D474SV not being detected as HDMI 1.4 3D Can't play 3d BD or enable 3DTV Play
Hi -

I have a Vizio Model XVT3D474SV TV in my basement, attached to a Zotac Mag (ION based), and am running the latest beta drivers (290.53). I've fiddled around with everything from 'Perform Clean Installation', changing the order I power things up in, to reinstalling Win7 Home Prem x64, to using uber expensive you-know-the-brand HDMI cables (I know, I know, and I've returned them and went with the better-value Mono.... cables w/Return path + Ethernet support -- the very latest standard).

The thing is, this TV is not being detected as HDMI 1.4 compliant 3D-capable. I did the 3DTV Play trial, and also tried connecting my 3d Vision emitter from my upstairs PC (big gaming machine with 2xGTX 570's from EVGA) , and every time, I get no option to enable 3DTV Play. I also for grins ran Cyberlink/PowerDVD's "3d Readiness Checker Tool", which gave me a "pass" on all items for 3d Blu Ray playback, including CPU, GPU, Video Connection (HDCP), BD Drive, EXCEPT a big red "FAIL" on "3d Display: XVT3D474SV"). Which would tell me the ION is at least capable of 3D BD playback thru PowerDVD's ClearVideo support.

I read on nVidia's release notes someplace that support for the XVT3D474SV came about in the later of the 290.xx series drivers, so I am running those. There is no AVR or anything between the PC and the TV, and otherwise, acceleration works for 2D BD under PDVD, and I get pristine 1080p output.

Obviously I'm not looking to game on an Atom/ION combo, but would like the option to play back 3D blu rays.

I have this TV's big brother, the XVT3D554SV, upstairs connected to my machine with SLI'd 570's, and 3DTV play worked beautifully from day 1 up there (albeit the choice of 720p@60 or 1080p@24 is kind of frustrating given I can play both eyes at full HD 60 via PDVD up there in 3d) that's why I bought the smaller unit for the rec room.

Any advice?

If you want saved System Information files or anything, let me know. Also let me know if there is a better forum than this to ask this, I couldn't find one specific to 3DTV Play, just 3dVSurround and 3dVLive.

Anyone? Is there a more formal channel for tech support via nViidia that I should be looking for?
