This may be the bigger news, see my post in the FAQ. StereoMirror means Hi-res, zero-ghosting 3D for the price of a single mirror (less than $50). I think this will replace shutterglasses as the de-facto standard for 3D Gaming since it's far cheaper and far better.
Now, the only reason to go with an HMD is for headtracking. The only reason to get a projector or auto-stereo device is for an audience. Anaglyph and shutter-glasses with a monitor may now be obsolete methods [unless you want to play mulitplayer on the same screen].

I think that the mirror thing is a good idea, but is really more for the hardcore gamer. I LOVE my glasses, but honestly don't play games enough to get that into it. Plus, I don't really want to be restricted by putting my face up against a mirror. I don't even have enough room on my desk for 2 monitors... and the cost for a second monitor is also an issue. It's not $50 for the mirror... it's 200 for the mirror and second monitor. The only other option would be a HMD... but once again, the price is too high. I wanna stick with my glasses for too many reasons. (plus, I play lots of 2 player pc games, and I can hook up 2 pairs of glasses)

MindGame, you have some good points why this menthod may not be the best for you personally. You're right, I am a hardcore gamer and I generally like to play multi-player games over a network as opposed to on the same screen. I also enjoy swinging my mirror back between my monitors and having a dual-monitor expanded desktop (VERY handy). So I get extra benefit out of my second monitor besides gaming, so spending an extra $150 to $200 on a second 17-inch LCD wouldn't be a big deal to me. As for the restriction issue, see my post here: http://www.stereo3d.com/discus/messages/24...97176#POST19604

you need semi transparent mirror, 1 or more glasses (can buy it) with linear polarisator and 2 LCD monitors and up down stereo mode, all this give hires GREAT looking 3D!!! there is no setup that can give as good contrast, resolution and colors !!!!

I tried the side-by-side monitors and single-mirror method last night and it worked great with no slowdown in framerate from previous driver versions. For those that may have had trouble with it, you must be in "clone" mode before pressing Ctrl-T!
Just for clarification to those who may not know, this is different than the up/down semi-transparent mirror method TR describes above. Has anyone actually tried the semi-tranparent mirror method? I'm sure it's pretty bright, high-contrast and low-ghosting, but is it ZERO-ghosting like the side-by-side monitors and single-mirror method? Maybe I'm just picky but I can't stand ghosting at all.

The method of two monitors side by side and one mirror, (no polarisation method, I mean) I'm afraid is a no-go solution for games with use of headtracker (as flight simulations). IMO :(
Or maybe anyone can afirm that you can turn your head -45º +45º degrees without paying excesive attention to your position to avoid loosing of 3D effect and at the same time control your game...? I mean, I have read the post linked before, but

Hi Darkbluesky,
seems to me that this new stereo driver is old crap for Il2 PF.
No joy at all, always AF flying around ad trees at depth screen?
Did you find a solution?
Unfortunately I have a few bugs to report with the new drivers. :(
First, for some games, sometimes the "Planar" stereomirror mode doesn't horizontally flip the second screen, it just shifts the perspective like in Dual VGA mode. This might have something to do with refresh rates being overridden by this game. I'll have to look into it and see if fixing the refresh rates will make the stereomirror mode flip the right image like it should.
Also, in UT2003, garbage eventually starts appearing on the screen, but I'm pretty sure the problem is heat-related since I haven't seen it appear until I hit 80 degrees. Somehow these drivers are causing my card to overheat a little while the old ones never did. But that's probably my fault, I'm slightly overclocked and I still haven't installed my NVSilencer like I should have a long time ago :) .

describe it better, what do you mean???????? do you use dualview mode for your monitors?? new stereo modes require this...

Darkblussky, There is a fix for this. I have a TrackIR3.
When you set up your monitors for the Planar system, keep the left monitor parallel with your eyeline, in otherwords your left eye with the monitor flat in front of you like normal. Angle the right monitor around the side so the angle is 135 degree, with your mirror in between. What this means is that the stereo monitor plane is flat directly in front of you. Moving your head around up and down and side ways then has little effect on stereo merging ( both eyes as your head moves are now just centered on a differnt part of the screen as you move your head ) but a big effect on the Track IR dot movement .
You will need to modify your Track IR3 head movement a bit more like lateral shift from the shoulders than too much head turning, but it still works well. There may not be room for a Hat so dot can go on the forehead.
IMHO the quality of the 3d image is way superior and so much brighter with no ghosting. . Planar will not be for everyone but I am personally overjoyed about it.

Or maybe anyone can afirm that you can turn your head -45º +45º degrees without paying excesive attention to your position to avoid loosing of 3D effect and at the same time control your game...? I mean, I have read the post linked before, but
