Hello guys. I got these 3D NVIDIA vision glasses (2), yesterday. They took some time for me to understand, but in that moment I also understood that I wouldn't be able to play Hearthstone in 3D until...
I saw this video: "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUovUAmdO8M".
This guy helped me for hours trying to figure out what my issue were and you should definitely check out his channel. Let me start off by saying that.
Secondly, despite all the time we put in trying to figure stuffs out, we didn't manage to make it work.
Okay, so basically I can use the 3D glasses on everything except in Hearthstone after doing this, even though my glasses get ready and dark when using the "Aion" settings.
(this is the guide I went through - http://helixmod.blogspot.se/2014/05/hearthstone-heroes-of-warcraft.html:
1. Download NVIDIA Inspector: NVIDIA Inspector Download
2. Extract and run the program as an administrator.
3. The main window has a row that says Driver Version near the middle. To the right of that row is a tools icon. Click it.
4. In the Profiles drop down menu in the top-left corner, find the "Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft" profile.
5. On the top toolbar, find the icon to "Remove application from current profile." It's the blue icon with the red X in the corner. Remove hearthstone.exe from the profile and accept the warning message.
6. Now, select the profile for "Aion"
7. On the top toolbar, find the icon to "Add application to current profile." Locate your Hearthstone install folder and select Hearthstone.exe.
8. Confirm that hearthstone.exe appears in the green bar below the toolbar. Press the "Apply changes" button on the top-right corner.
9. 3DTV Play Users: Hearthstone's "fullscreen" mode is borderless windowed mode and will not work with 3DTV Play if your desktop resolution is not already in a 3DTV Play supported mode. To fix this, set your desktop resolution to 1920x1080 @ 24Hz or 1280x720 @60Hz. Revert the resolution back to normal when finished playing.)
To put you up to date with all the things we went through... Here is our conversation:

Kevlin soatrome:
I'm newb with this stuff since I got it today. I'd really want it to work, but it didn't work for me.
I did exactly what you did, (it was pretty simple actually) but since my 3d glasses ain't red+blue/since I got that other version of nvidia glasses - red/blue screen, my glasses can't see that sort of 3d as far as I know.
I didn't say anything else than that it doesn't work. I just said that it didn't work in my circumstance since I use 3d vision and not 3d vision discovery - a different type of 3d vision. That's also why I didn't dislike. I bet your version of 3d does work by changing to Aion profile.
Do you think you could get 3d vision to work? If so, please help. I would be really thankful and you would definitely get a like and a favourite on this vid.
So basically my question in:
Do you know how to make the "3d vision version" with the nvidia 3d vision glasses (2), to work in Hearthstone? I'd appreciate it a bunch:-).
Eincrou Productions Co.:
+Kevlin soatrome
I'm happy that you're jumping into stereoscopic 3D gaming; it's really amazing and you're going to love it.... but it's not well supported by most games, so you'll eventually need to learn a few tricks to get games running well in S3D. If you need help, then ask for it; I'm glad to help. But please don't simply announce that something "didn't work." I have shown other people how to get Hearthstone running in S3D, and they didn't have any problems. It should work for you, too.
"Do you know how to make the "3d vision version" with the nvidia 3d vision glasses (2), to work in Hearthstone?"
This video shows exactly how to get 3D Vision working with Hearthstone, whether your viewing method is a 3D Vision Ready monitor, a 3D television using 3DTV Play, or crappy anaglyph glasses. As long as all of your equipment is set up properly to begin with, the only difference between these viewing methods is the "Stereoscopic 3D display type:" setting in the NVIDIA Control Panel.
The fact that this video shows Hearthstone in red/blue anaglyph is completely irrelevant to making Hearthstone work in S3D with 3D Vision, so don't let that confuse you. As I already explained, I did it like this only because it's impossible to show Hearthstone working in 3D on my monitor in the video. I don't play Hearthstone in S3D like this, I use my 3D Vision Ready monitor to view it properly.
If you can get it running in S3D with 3D Vision Discover, but not with your 3D Vision Ready monitor, then something is not set up correctly with your monitor. Based on what little information you've shared, I have no idea what that could be.
Kevlin soatrome:

Yee, I get that having a post on your vid that says "It didn't work", for starters can be problematic. Sorry bout that - think first, then write, right! My bad.
Okay, that's good news for me since I got the discovery version to work I basically got the other version to work too!
Soo, let's check off some stuff that can't be the problem:
I've pretty much checked every resolution in Hearthstone.
I'm @ 144 Hz when trying to play.
Glasses get dark while starting HS, as it gets when initiating 3D stuffs on the computer, when using the "Aion" profile in "NVIDIAInspector".
I played "Diablo 3" and "Counter Strike: GO" & "Dragon Age II" to work in 3D, successfully.
I even watched some "cough, cough" normal videos in the NVIDIA 3D vision player and made 3D out of them. (I changed the settings so I instead of seeing the video twice at the same time, saw it in 3D.)
Got any ideas?/questions? I'd be more than happy to oblige. :-)
Thanks mate! Fast answer and super friendly!
I play a bunch of HS and I bet it gets much more interesting in 3D. The small things like legendaries and golden cards would give a lot of extra spice to the game!

+Kevlin soatrome Okay, so other games are working for you in S3D. And your display switches to 3D mode when loading Hearthsone. But Hearthstone is still looks completely flat, and it's at screen depth?
I just tested it with my monitor and it works as expected. What exactly are you seeing?
Kevlin soatrome:
+Eincrou Productions Co.
Yea the screen looks flat.
The only difference is that everything takes slightly longer and that the screen is slightly brighter than usually.
That's basically it.
Eincrou Productions Co.:
+Kevlin soatrome Also, you can't make 2D videos into S3D videos with 3D Vision Video Player. At best you can adjust their parallax and push them into the screen (or pop them out), but the content itself is still completely flat.
If you want to check out some real stereoscopic 3D videos, I have scores of hours of them on this channel (including some S3D Hearthstone videos). +Stereo3DProductions is another dude you should check out who posts stereoscopic videos more regularly than I do.
Kevlin soatrome:
Actually... The screen is flat, although when putting my cursor over the buttons/cards/such in game, the cursor ain't pressing the button.
In other words, I gotta move my cursor to the left of where ever I want to click pretty much.

Eincrou Productions Co.:
+Kevlin soatrome Try adjusting the stereo separation by holding Ctrl+F3 and Ctrl+F4. Does anything happen?
Kevlin soatrome:
I just understood that issue. My depths was @ 100% earlier. I changed it so it got even with the screen now.
Kevlin soatrome:
Now it's flat again.. Heheh.
Kevlin soatrome:
+Eincrou Productions Co. Yepp, I keep doing that. When increasing the depths by clicking ctrl+F3 the screen moves to the left and when pressing ctrl+F4 it moves to the right.
Kevlin soatrome:
+Eincrou Productions Co. Other than that, it's a normal screen. No "blurr", nothing - just flat.
Kevlin soatrome:
+Eincrou Productions Co. Oh and thanks for the video advice too! I'll definitely check him out!
Eincrou Productions Co.:
+Kevlin soatrome It sounds like only the right eye's view is being displayed. I've never had that problem with any game, so I don't know what might be causing it. Did 3D Vision Discover mode have a double image, with one red and one blue, like in this video? Or was it all one color?
Kevlin soatrome:
+Eincrou Productions Co. Yepp, the 3D Vision Discover had a double image - one blue and one red.
Eincrou Productions Co.:
+Kevlin soatrome Alright, then the stereo drivers are correctly rendering the game in S3D, but for some reason your display isn't showing it properly.
You said your display is 144Hz... I don't have any experience with 144Hz displays, but if I recall correctly, 3D Vision only works up to 120Hz. Hearthstone doesn't take exclusive control of your display, even in "Fullscreen," so it will use your desktop refresh rate.
The same workaround I explained at the end of this video for 3DTV Play might work here. Try manually changing your refresh rate in NVIDIA Control Panel to 120Hz and see if that does anything.
Kevlin soatrome:
I probably just started to understand what's wrong.. Ish...
When I downloaded the NVIDIA 3D Vision Video Player, I downloaded a video with two sets of the video covering 50% of the screen each on the left and on the right.
To fix that by some guide, I chose the configuration to side by side show the left part of the video first (translated from swedish but I hope u understand).
However, it didn't work after this either. What happened is that I saw one side of the video. The only time I really saw the video was when choosing to look at the video in fullscreen.
In fullscreen, I couldn't fast forward, change the sound or do anything but watch and the second I removed fullscreen, it got back to being one side of the video again.
Any idea what could be wrong based on that information?
Kevlin soatrome:
+Eincrou Productions Co. Oh and yepp, it's in 120 Hz not in 144. It's apperantly forced there, I can't change to 144 Hz.
Kevlin soatrome:
I'm messing up the information.
I didn't only see one part of the video when I wasn't in fullscreen. However, despite that, it was flat unless I went to fullscreen.
The other information was correct.
Eincrou Productions Co.:
+Kevlin soatrome First, the "NVIDIA 3D Vision Video Player" is freaking ANCIENT. It's literally two years out of date. It's not even made by NVIDIA, it's just Stereoscopic Player with a custom license file. You can copy that file into an up-to-date version of Stereoscopic Player and get full 3D Vision support. Modern versions will let you fast forward and change the volume while in fullscreen.
Get the latest version from http://www.3dtv.at/Downloads/Index_en.aspx and follow the instructions in this link: http://3dvision-blog.com/8619-how-to-always-keep-your-nvidia-3d-vision-video-player-up-to-date/
I'm out of ideas for your issue. It's definitely something to do with your display. Search your monitor's model number on the forums and see if anyone else has had the same problem. https://forums.geforce.com/default/board/49/3d-vision/
Kevlin soatrome:
+Eincrou Productions Co. Okay dude. You helped me more than enough and I'm still very appreciated. I learned a few tricks already:-).
Keep up the good work mate! Merry Cmas. If I remember, I'll get back to you if I manage to fix it.
Eincrou Productions Co.:
Good luck. I hope you can get it solved.

So here I am the next day trying to get it solved by writing in this forum.
Do you have any idea what the problem might be?
Basically when changing the 3D depths ("CTRL + F3/F4") of Hearthstone in game, the screen moves to the left and to the right instead of getting all blurry with two images of the game. It's all simply just flat and changes position when it's suppose to change the 3D effect.
All my stuff is 3D ready so that should not be a problem.
My display is called "ASUS VG248QE" and works flawlessly except for possibly this.
You got any idea what the problem might be folks?

Sorry for not reading the WHOLE MASSIVE Post ^_^;))
But from what I understand: Instead of showing the game 3D you see it in 2D:
- Are the glasses ON & the Emitter ? If yes:
- Each eye has the exact same perspective? You can see in both eyes the same image thus => 2D?
- When you adjust the convergence you say you see the image moving Left/Right in both eyes right?
IF THIS IS THE CASE see this:

The is a BUG in the latest drivers that prevents 3D Vision to work properly in Window Mode.
Revert to 344.65 or OLDER and try again ;))
Also, please leave a comment in the above thread saying that you experience the same thing (I sent that thread to nvidia in a BUG report as well).

Is your ASUS VG248QE connected via Display Port?
It will not work via a HDMI connection.
Are you using Windows Vista?
Support was dropped for it around driver 310.
Did you install the 3D Vision portion of the driver package?
The driver package is all inclusive now, it used to be that there was a separate download for the emitter. "Do Not" use the separate emitter driver unless using a driver "prior" to 275.

@helifax
Yeeeah, it's understandable! I should've wrote some more info, although was soo tired and the fast way out of it was copying our conversation! =) Thank you for starting me off despite that! ;)
Okay so basically the 3D works well when playing other games and watching stuff. The only time I didn't get it to work properly was when trying to "convert" Hearthstone into a 3D game via the Aion profile through the NVIDIAInspector software. Otherwise stuff works well.
This screen movement (ctrl+F3/F4) only occurs in HS.
Exactly, I see a flat picture without anything different than a 2D normal in HS even after the Aion profile change. The screen is slightly brighter, but that's it.
My glasses gets enabled when going into the game (darker) and I always use fullscreen.
Something to add is that I don't use the 3D Vision Discover glasses, so that blue/reddish screen doesn't go with my glasses. I did get the in game Hearthstone interface to get all blue/reddish with 2x blurry images when choosing the 3D Vision Discover type of 3D, but whenever changing to the 3D vision - the one compatible with my glasses, it doesn't get all blurry and is 2D/flat like when playing normally, mb slightly laggy even.

Although I figure I don't, since it works in everything except Hearthstone.

I know that when playing WoW, you need to enable stereoscopic gameplay via an in game menu.
Perhaps Hearthstone works the same way?
@Helifax
I just did that, sadly with no success.
Also I just realised that the only version of dia working in 3D, is Diablo III, public test realm (PTR).
The other version won't work.
Now the only thing working is Dragon Age Inq which works terrible with 3D. God damn it. Aaand vids with the stereoscopic player ofc...
Any ideas? :(

No worries. Thanks for giving it a shot.
Nah Hearthstone isn't compatible with 3D. Although with fixes through NVIDIA Inspector/such softwares, it does apperantly. Just not for me.

I saw this video: ";.

+Eincrou Productions Co.

______________________________________________
So here I am the next day trying to get it solved by writing in this forum.
Do you have any idea what the problem might be?
Basically when changing the 3D depths ("CTRL + F3/F4") of Hearthstone in game, the screen moves to the left and to the right instead of getting all blurry with two images of the game. It's all simply just flat and changes position when it's suppose to change the 3D effect.
All my stuff is 3D ready so that should not be a problem.
My display is called "ASUS VG248QE" and works flawlessly except for possibly this.
You got any idea what the problem might be folks?
Thank you so much in advance.
IF THIS IS THE CASE see this:
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/798087/3d-vision/-bug-report-3d-vision-driver-is-broken-with-release-344-75-onwards-including-347-09-/
The is a BUG in the latest drivers that prevents 3D Vision to work properly in Window Mode.
Revert to 344.65 or OLDER and try again ;))
Also, please leave a comment in the above thread saying that you experience the same thing (I sent that thread to nvidia in a BUG report as well).
