275.33 Drivers: Trine and Oblivion Fail in 3D Older 2.65 or 2.66 worked flawlessly
I downloaded and installed the 275.33 drivers when they were released, but didn't have time to mess around with 3D so I never checked their 3D performance. I can't remember as it was months ago, and I would really have to do a search on this forum to find out which, but my older drivers that I even refused to upgrade from after newer (not the latest 275.33 though, earlier than them) drivers were released were either 265 or 266. So I stuck with either the 265 or 266 because they never really gave me problems.

Well anyway, I tried four games or apps today, and here are my findings:

Trine: Now 3D vision says I'm running the game in the wrong mode and it is not supported. Even though I'm running the game at 1280 x 720 and the projector says that resolution and 120hz at the top right of the screen. The older drivers, the game ran flawlessly!

Oblivion: Now 3D vision says I'm "Out of Memory" in a constant red text in a box in the center of the screen whenever Oblivion gets into a game. There is a 3D effect but it is not adjustable (convergence, depth) and the only real 3D effect is the error text from the rest of the game. According to MSI Afterburner, which I have not upgraded in many months, the GTX580 is using 360ish MB of RAM for Oblivion. The older drivers never had that problem and the game ran flawlessly.

Tomb Raider Underworld: Runs the same on both driver sets. Looks great.

Left 4 Dead: Runs the same on both driver sets. Looks great.

I dont' understand it. If a game or app can run flawlessly and then not, why doesn't each game or app load the drivers that work great with it? Why do these problems pop up after each driver release? I'm not a driver programmer so maybe I really don't understand the depth of it, but why can't a perfectly good working 3D driver be loaded each time a game loads too?

EDIT: I'm using the Acer H5360 projector. I never upgraded its drivers because it really has no drivers. So that can't be the problem.

If you want trine to work..,then hide 3d vision before you startup the game...
If the game has started ,then turn on 3dvision with the short key or the botton from your i.r. remote.

How do I "Hide" 3D Vision? 3D vision can be manually turned on or off I understand, but the driver has to tell it when to start, am I right? I'm also seeing now that Trine does not make the projector go to 120hz in 720p when it starts. It's stuck at 60hz 720p, the same as the desktop. I forced 120hz under graphics properties so then the desktop was running at 120hz. But then when Trine loaded up, it went back to 60hz 720p. I never made any changes to Trine since it worked with the last drivers, the 266 I think.
