Yo, just thought I would throw this out there. Not trying to brag, but the game runs like butter for me, everywhere. No slow downs at all. Using the new beta drivers as well.

So that's with 3D enabled? What was your frame rates during the prison escape portion?

First I want to thank Nvidia for their efforts with TW2 in 3d, yes it's a 3d vision ready game since there's not a single problem in terms of 3d, such a incredibly beautiful game to be rendered properly in 3d, shadows, lighting, even conversations over their heads at proper depth, this is 3d showcase material, amazing work, best 3d looking rpg I've ever played.

But of course, performance is terrible for me like everyone else. I have finished all the assault thing until you're back again to prison and it's really suprising how well the game works outdoors and the terrible fps on interiors, I'm barely hitting the teens here. Also the terrible performance with the recap using 2d drawings of vizima events is ridiculous, that's netbook material come on.

I'm pretty sure a patch will come and fix all this, it's obvious that it's a driver and optimization problem from both Nvidia and CDP since the game can work quite well at times in 3d, it looks like 3d wasn't tested properly since they wanted the game to work in 2d first and foremost, sadly I'm used to waiting for 3d fixes and profiles and this isn't going to be any different.

Still, the incredible assault part is probably one of the best 3d experiences I've ever had so even with the current performance issues, I can't but be thankful to Nvidia and CDP for their work providing 3d in this game, now let's hope those patches don't take too long.

3D enabled, I didn't have anything running to give me an exact number. I've played computer games for well over 10 years now I can tell you if I had to guess I was hitting 60+ in the prison. I just encountered my first noticeable frame drop when I hit the first town last night and it only lasted a couple of seconds.

No offense intended, but a single 570 should not be able to render this game 60+ fps with options set at least to high, AA on, 1080p, with 3d vison enabled. You would have to be running the game with significantly reduced settings or 3d vision is not enabled. Maybe if you post what your in game settings are, it would help us determine if a specific setting may be causing the issue. Thanks

I just want to put a voice of praise out there instead of all the complaints I'm seeing, I'm playing in 3D with mostly medium settings (ubersampling, SSAO, AA, DOF all off, med textures, etc mostly as suggested by the game for my specs) and I'm blown away by how amazing it looks! It's definately one of the best 3D experiences I've had so far. Yes, framerates drop to ~20 FPS in some areas but I'm finding it's not as noticable as in some games with that low a framerate and for the most part I'm averaging between 30-45 FPS I haven't quite got to the temple yet which seems to giving people trouble so we'll see if it holds out.

My sympathies go out to everyone who is having problems but i'm just thankful we have a driver on launch day that lets us play the game at all and lets not forget this is only a beta that's probably been rushed out so that this forum wasn't filled with comments like "WTF! Pull your fingers out NV! This game doesn't work at all with any drivers!"
All we can do is be patient and wait for a patch from CDProjektRed (which they already said will be coming soon) and further tweaking from NV on their drivers and this will really be a fantastic game.

I think the devs did a fantastic job with the 3D in this game and the game itself is awesome. We just want Nvidia to look at the problem and fix it. At this point, we have a couple of threads full of people mentioning the issue and have yet to have anyone from Nvidia acknowledge it here. Maybe Andrew is sick or something but it would be nice to get a response at least.

No offense intended, but where in my post did I say I was running all options on high with AA and 1080p? First thing I did was hit the detect my system button, then edited from there. I HAVE to play at 720p because I use 3DTV play and if I want 3D it's the only way. After that the ONLY two settings I turned off were AA and ubersampling. Left everything else on, can't give exact settings as I'm at work. From off the top of my head textures and shadows are set to high, motion blur is on, bloom effects on. That's about all I can remember.

I'm thankful because it's obvious that this game has been developed with 3d in mind, and it's been stated that CDP and NV have been working together to make it happen. The only issue here is performance hit in several places, I'm tired of issues with lighting, shadows, ghosting etc in 3d games, some of them never got fixed (two worlds 2, dead space 2, etc) so yeah, I'm grateful this amazing game works flawless in 3d other than performance. That can be tweaked, but a graphic engine that doesn't work properly in 3d, that cannot be fixed.

Thank the game developers for doing such a good job and not taking shortcuts and mixing perspective 2d rendering with their 3d engine, not nvidia. Then again i wouldnt be so fast in blaming nvidia either. I have a hunch that the game does not use the 3dvision driver's algorithm to render the game in stereoscopic 3d. I think the developers have taken a more direct approach in rendering stereoscopic 3d. The reason I say this is because the 3d vision drivers are still being accessed by the game even when 3d vision is disabled. Any1 who says different is talking out of their arses (excuse me french).

As for gratitude for everything being brilliant except performance, thats a bit like ordering a full english breakfast and tipping the waiter for excellent hashbrowns inspite of having burnt toast. I wouldnt slag them off though or you can most definitely expect some1 to spit in your cuppa tea.

Give both nvidia and the game developers a chance and some time. This isnt a a simple "hello world" piece of code we're talking abt where things can be resolved with a click of ur fingers (If you can click that is......I cant:(). Beside's dont know abt where u guys live, but here the weather's bloody brilliant. Go out and grab urself a pint, or try ur luck with one of those lovely lasses out there with skirts shorter than a kitchen towel...... yeah yeah scoff at me now but if u do pull, u will thank me later :)

I have recently bought 2 GTX570s and two extra Samsung 3D monitors, which when you add it up is quite a lot of money. So to be honest I expect things to work when I buy them. I am not going to go out and by a TV for X amount for it to be black n white then go sure wait a few months and they will fix it.. Really would you stand for that service!!!

Now look into the 3d Surround forums, this problem isn't a surprise it been pointed out over a year ago that Directx 9 games and the new GTX 500 series have major problems with slow frame rates, in these forum we were told that this issues will be fixed with the new branch 275.xx drivers. Surprise only getting round to it now for the big release Witcher.... So don't believe for a second Nvidia didn't know about this issue long ago, they only decided to try to fix it now due to a big game release.

The drivers hopefully are a step in the right direction, I just wand Nvidia to be more honest and be ready for big game releases, I have quit playing the Witcher cause I don't want my experience ruined by crap laggy graphics, so I shall wait until I can get decent performance.

My experience of Witcher and the 275.27 drivers..

1. Starts around 30-40FPS after 5-10 mins drops to around 12FPS, indoors and out, if I restart the game even indoors my FPS will jump back to 30-40FPS.
2. With 3Dvision enabled I get 30-40FPS with 3Dvision not enabled I get 25-35FPS??????????

I know this posts very negative, just very frustrated spent lots of money on my 3DVision Surround system, just to be slapped in the face with Directx 9 Games,,,, WHY???

Agree with above posters on does anyone actually test these games/drivers,,, really???
