There are numerous threads on the ViewSonic PJD6531w projector dating to the middle of this year (2010). Most of which are embroiled in inf frigging or edid disguising when it should work out of the box.
Can anyone confirm for me please that this projector model is now being correctly detected and can be driven by 3D Vision?
Any other issues with it?
I would like to buy four of them so want to be sure there is some customer satisfaction out there.

Wondering the same thing. I have one, it works ok after ripping pins out of the cable and such. The firmware refuses to update, its unreal that it appears to get all the way through it, and fails at the very end. How anyone can make a projector that has 800 lines and only supports 720 lines in every mode baffles me. The hacks do work and you can get native 1280x800 out of it, but not via hdmi. Any hdmi signal will be stretched to the full native chip lines at 800. More than just annoying, the image gets noticably softer as spreading 720 pixels across an 800 pixel chip does look much worse. Its a big hit to take. I have read one other post where someone actually has a firmware that offers 16:9 scaling in the menu. I assume they have a newer firmware, but if you have 1.02 like most people, it does not appear possible to upgrade the firmware. If anyone has any info, I would love to know how to resolve it. Most of my stuff comes from the computer, so I am not so worried, but it would be nice to use the HDMI inputs. I feel the projector is worthless if that is your intention.
