I'm planning on buying the MSI GT-60 laptop with the 670M GPU as soon as it is out. However, the problem i am facing here is that i am not sure whether 3D Vision works via VGA port. I have been reading about people saying dual link DVI is nessecary, but i don't see why it would be. Can anyone please elaborate? I have a compatible screen, the Hannstar HS233 with 120Hz.

Dual link DVI is nessecary. A VGA port simply can't handle that much data.
HDMI will also work but the current version of the HDMI port doesn't have quite enough bandwidth. It can only get 24Hz at 1080p resolution (and you'll also need to buy 3DTV Play software).

What do you mean by "can't handle that much data"? I thought VGA is more of an analog port? Does the refresh rate actually matter there? Either way thanks for the answer!

VGA can easily handle it, problem is nvidia actively blocked the generic crt mode on newer drivers.

CRT Mode? I'm using a Standard 23Inch TFT with 120Hz... I just don't understand why this wouldn't work
Bump; So is there seriously no possibility to connect my 1920x1080 120Hz screen to _ANY_ current _HIGH-END_Laptop? After searching for seemingly forever, i haven't found a single laptop with DVI-D and up-to-date hardware. The only laptop i found that is close to what i am searching for is a Schenker Laptop that doesn't have the 6xx series GPUs nor Ivy-Bridge nor Nvidia Optimus.
Why is everyone still using VGA if it's so obsolete and bad?
EDIT: http://www.hdmi.org/manufacturer/hdmi_1_4/3d.aspx
Apparently HDMI 1.4a actually DOES support 1080p 3D. However, i do not know whether this is supposed to mean 1920x1080@60Hz and therefore 1080p 3D at 30fps or if this actually is supposed to mean 1080p@120Hz?
EDIT 2: Upon further research i discovered another thread saying that DisplayPort 1.2 is the way to go. However, i can't seem to find any information regarding the DisplayPort version in the specifications of any High-End-Laptops. Anyone have a pointer? I am searching for a Laptop that has something along the lines of: i7 Ivy Bridge, GTX670M / GTX675M, nVidia Optimus, DisplayPort 1.2, but apparently there is nothing like that at the moment.
EDIT 3: So, there are different opinions spread across the internet regarding HDMI 1.4a and 120Hz@1080p. Is it actually working now? Apparently someone even got a positive answer from nVidia Support regarding HDMI 1.4a and 3d Vision @1080p/120Hz.
EDIT 4: Is there a way to convert HDMI 1.4a to DVI-D? The bandwidth shouldn't be the problem, but for some reason i can't find any cable that supports this, the only one i found was DisplayPort 1.2 to DVI-D

If anyone comes here like me looking for answers to the MSI GT60 2od. The laptop has HDMI 1.4, however 120hz was only supported in 1.4b. You need to use the displayport.
If you monitor does not support display port, get a "DISPLAYPORT MALE TO DVI-D DUAL LINK FEMALE ADAPTER". You can get them for less than $10 on ebay.
If you have a monitor with HDMI 1.4b or 2.0 support, you might be able to go displayport to HDMI, but I've never heard of anyone succeeding with that.
