Will this monitor support 3D Vision?
Hi I found this new monitor a month or so ago when it first come on the market. I've been waiting to see what the reviews look like and so far they are positive. It looks like it should support 3D Vision, i.e. 144Hz refresh etc. But how would I know for sure if it really does or not? If it does support 3D Vision, this could offer a fantastic 3D experience, with the super wide curved screen to expand peripheral vision. https://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-Ultrawide-34UC79G-B-LED-lit/dp/B01LW5CGIS/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1478556955&sr=8-16&keywords=widescreen+gaming+monitor I"m not going to order a new monitor until after the Holidays when I'm going to get a new system, so there's no hurry on this but I'd like to know one way or the other. There is another (short) thread here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/963921/lg-announces-the-34uc79g/?offset=1 Five reasons about why I'm 100% sure it doesn't have 3D Vision 2: - They don't say it anywhere. - It's IPS. At the moment, zero IPS monitors have 3D Vision 2. - It's 21:9. At the moment, zero 21:9 monitors have 3D Vision 2. - It's FreeSync. - Here it says that it doesn't have 3D: http://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/cb596da

Nvidia supports adaptive sync and G-Sync monitors. FreeSync was introduced by AMD and made into an open sourced standard that's included in the Vesa Specification now. AFAIK, Nvidia has yet to write support into their drivers for it. But that's for 2D anyways. There is one user that I think has 3D Vision working on his 21:9 monitor, his post showed a stereoscopic pic, but he did not go into detail. He just talks about getting it to work in Tomb Raider via 3Dmigoto. So I'm not certain if he ever got it working in other games. Hi Thanks for the info, I'll check back later but it sounds as if it's not going to be a for sure thing. When I get ready to commit I'll check again. Maybe I'll just have to give up on 3D Vision, I really want a wide monitor like this. Mike
