Tes IV Oblivion. Sky & water in stereo fix by YoZJ Correct display of water and the sky...

I have found a script to minimize stuttering, but still this game eat more power than desired:

For water I know that I must disable reflections in oblivion.ini. And if you install "Natural Environments/Natural Water" you can play in 3D seeying all visuals reflections (but reflections of buildings and mountains is not well done and disturb a lot... but maybe better than a plain blue boring watter if we play with no reflection). Note that Natural Water overrites the oblivion.ini parameters, but aditional problems occur if it is not disabled reflections in oblivion.ini.
"Regular character only shadows are not perfect but they are definitely tolerable for such a grand game" -> I am not agree. Shadows are usually a very important thing, and this game do not render them correctly. I must disable all shadows to play + reflection problems in water + sky problems = very POOR 3D (at least for me). And also stuttering. So I think that 3D compatibility is POOR in this game. Another thing is if the game is good or not.

This is obviously subjective but, with respect, I find shadows far less important when using S3D. Before s3D I found I needed shadows to help gauge distance; jumping without a shadow was frankly risible. Right now I am in a room with diffused lighting and shadows are not obvious. In Portsmouth it is currently overcast (suprise). The only shadows I see is the diffused darkness under cars, street bins and other wide based objects. Lamp post's and people's shadows are less obvious (excepth when their feet just about to touch the ground). Sure shadows are there but they are worlds apart from game shadows. Much more subtle.
Admitedly when I first played Oblivion without the shadows I was a bit put off. But that lasted seconds because as soon as I moved onto a grassy area I forgot! I havent played Oblivion much since I bought 3D Vision but when I have played, for some reason, with shadows disabled I have never seen the sun rendered in the sky. I wonder if this was intentional?

I can't seem to get this fix to work, the stars are still split in half, and since my character is a vampire that's kinda important.
[/quote]
I also play a vampire and yeah, the nightsky is terrible in 3D...I've made a quick hotfix that allow me to play at night without headache, by painting the skynebula textures in black. It's not the ultimate fix for nightsky in Oblivion, but at least, it makes the game playable and enjoyable after midnight...Try it :put my files in your Oblivion/ Data/ textures/ Sky folder (don't forget to make a backup before overwrite).
By the way, could anyone fix this damn mesh for the stars?! The problem only appears when you modify the convergency (and of course convergency is essential for immersion in this game...).

Got the Steam GOTY Deluxe version of Oblivion. But I can't get the stereo sky fix to work. In fact, I can't get any texture mods to work. They worked fine on an old disk install from years ago... but not this new steam one. I'm trying to play all the expansions and a few new mods, and Nehrim.
Any help out there getting a good sky for the Steam version of Oblivion? /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Ok nevermind. Since no one cares, I got a NIF editor and did it myself. Fixed Nehrim sky as well. Easier than I thought it would be.

When I installed Nehrim and started the game, I got a lot of missing textures. Since Nehrim copies things from your Oblivion install, I assume having a heavily-modded Oblivion caused this. I ended up copying over my entire textures and meshes folder into Nehrim and overwriting anything that was already there. This fixed all my missing texture issues and since the sky box fix was part of my Oblivion installation, it fixed the sky for Nehrim then also.
