Hello @all, 2 Years ago i bought my 3D-Setup (Zalman).
Until ~6 months ago, it was fun :). But since, most of the new and good games seem to have MASSIVE problems in the 3D-Mode:
-Crysis 2: 3D-Mode is just A JOKE. Nuff said.
-Bulletstorm: many many graphic glitches, unplayable in 3D
-Fable 3: at least playable, but far from the 3D-Quality of the earlier games
-and now even Duke Nukem Forever (3D-Ready?? Hahahahah!!!) : similar to the Bulletstorm-Chaos.
So whats going on at nvidia? Instead of improved quality everthing seems to get worse. The crap goes down !!!

I tend to agree. The total war series used to be great in 3d.. Now all kinds of 2d cheats for effects. I fear for some of the other great games remakes like skyrim oblivion, etc. It all does seem to be going the wrong way. Locked convergences, no options to turn off bad 3d effects. And now we have the new Samsung 27 monitor not even being Nvidia compatible? I have a new 82 inch dlp Mitsubishi that i cant get to run w nvidia and even for my pc/samsung 22 inch monitor I fear that new 3d game content is getting more and more questionable.

Some of the blame is gamemakers who in the hunt for performance makes several effects in 2d. Iz3d-drivers are also plagued by this and it's striking that both stereodrivers sometimes shares the same anomalies. Tridef ignition drivers usually looks best but on the other side sometimes makes the games crawl. I assume it's because of the enhanced correction.

Don't blame Nvidia. Blame lazy game developers who don't care about 3D.

Of course. But nvidia should get active and "support" (better, force!) game developers to deliver better experiences.
As written above, i agree that the overlaid 2D-Effects are indeed one of the most important problems. Is it that complicated to switch them off at the driver-level OR force developers to give such switches in the options menu??
And, more important: when a game is called "3D-Vision-Ready" it has to be (nearly) perfect !
I think the by far most important sector for 3D is gaming. And with the actual tendencies i fear it will end like in 2000, when the first shutter glasses disappeared because of lacking support.

So I guess I'm not the only one having issues with Duke Nukem Forever in 3D? My problem is that all of the lighting/glowing effects seem to float a few feet away from their sources. This is very noticeable on any lamp on a wall, and I first noticed it when looking at the blue glowing nuclear symbol on the floor in the Duke Cave. The blue glowing graphic looks like it's floating a few feet above the floor...
The problem is (obviously) less noticeable when I drop the 3D slider down to ~15%, but that's BS because I play every other good 3D game with the slider at 100%...
But nvidia should get active and "support" (better, force!) game developers to deliver better experiences.
They're already pretty active, from what I've heard. Obviously they can't force them to do anything. The game developers will get a lot more interested when the gamers get a lot more interested. Right now, most the gamers I see posting are pretty clueless and think it's going to be like going to a bad 3D movie. The only way that impression dies is if WE get out there and tell them otherwise.

So whats going on at nvidia? Instead of improved quality everthing seems to get worse. The crap goes down !!!
Much much worse...
I saw Pirates of the Caribiëen last night ...and the whole movie was 2d converted to 3d...
Only the beginning tilte was 3d !
I don't feel the same about games however,..I have no complaints...
It's still as good or worse as it used to be...
