DEAD SPACE 2

I have tried turning of vsync, but then I get awefull ghosting... update.... I thought I was getting ghosting, but strangly turning off vsync doubled my convergence and/or depth ,so I forgot to turn it down...
Turning of vsync works ,gives a little more depth with less doubled images...

Then i think you have the depth too high.

The fog volume thing helps a ton. The doubled lights are still there mostly tolerable around 40% depth, although I usually play at 80% depth. Need to play more to be sure. I think I can compromise at this level for now, but obviously the best solution is a real set of fixes from nVidia.

Go into the game and select "Custom" under video options... this enables the "Custom Video Settings" option below it. (Not sure exactly whats its called). Now you can go in and turn off shadows or adjust other things.

Running steam's exe renamed ofdr.exe just ends up launching deadspace2.exe again. You'll need to find a regular deadspace2.exe and renamed it to get nVidia drivers to recognize what's going on.

So:
1. ofdr.exe fix as above fixes fog volume clipping issues
2. Turn up all the settings, then turn off flares
3. Turn off shadows (unless you're willing to play at minimum depth)
4. I prefer to turn off motion blur and depth of field since those are effects for 2D viewing
5. Adjust the convergence to make the double lighting on the walls less nasty visually (I usually prefer to push isaac into the screen as if I'm looking into a window, but in this case isaac should be popping out of the screen a bit)
6. Adjust depth to around 40%

The game is very playable in 3D now.

I think it is fantastic all the efforts you folks are putting into making this game playable in 3D. I don't have it yet, but now I have a resource to turn to when I do get it. Thanks again! /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I found out ,that it's better to use moh.exe instead of ofdr.exe
Menu looks way better and there is more depth to the game...

Sad thing is there is still flickering...

Because of this ,I rather use deadspace2.exe ,15% depth, high convergence and all setting on high.

Hopefully with all this feedback Nvidia and EA are listening. This is an ultimate 3D showcase type game that could propel more people into investing into 3D. Anyone here post on the DeadSpace forums? Maybe someone could give some feedback to EA.

How much better could the game be from an official profile from Nvidia? They will most likely just rate it fair and tell us to freak off. Maybe with enough pressure Nvidia could do more then they usual do with there profile.

Here's hoping. Still got to finish Just Cause 2 and Crysis. Hopefully by then they will have a patch or something but I'm not crossing my fingers.

I was already using ofdr.exe and I also turned off flare, motion blur and depth of field. Still I can't tell the difference about turning off flares or even depth of field???? What does it change, I mean flares???
It's somehow playable, the biggest problem is the flickering, some weird blinking black shadows arround Isaac. Very annoying. But still better side effect than fog volume. I'll try to play with the flicker issue, until some clever guy here solves this issue. Then I'll be able to honestly say, Dead Space 2 is very playable in 3D. Right now it ain't yet.

How do we get rid of the flickering problem using ofdr.exe profile????? I haven't tried moh.exe, but I guess its the same thing.
