Elder Scrolls:Skyrim plays well in 3D
  2 / 2
I am pretty sure they are all 2D, then head roll just completely moves them. Not sure why people are recording/playing with it on. I mean shadows are broken, its not playable with it out. Either A they dont know how to turn off or B dont notice. Its kind of irritating to see everyone in comments praise how good it looks and not mention shadows. Nor can they see it.

Haven't played skyrim for a couple of weeks. Fired it up yesterday and............the sky is messed up again. I had Helixmod installed. Tried reinstalling it a couple of times, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything anymore (the shortcut keys for different convergence settings don't do anything either). Anyone know what's up? Did a patch break the fix again?

Start game and alt tab. Delete d3d9.dll. If it says its in use then Im not quite sure. It it lets you delete, its either not installed properly or you need to reinstall latest version of DX9. I keep hearing there is a way to play skyrim in dx10. Not sure if its true because alot of people sort of... dont know what they are talking about. Anywho make sure its running in DX9.

No, there's a DX10 folder but it's there for other reasons. There's no DX10 renderer.

Hi Eqzitara, Thanks for your helpful tip. As it turns out, I cannot delete the dll because it is in use. By playing around with convergence I managed to "push the sky up" and now it seems to render properly. However, when I do that, I lose a lot of depth on the ground. It all feels kind of unfamiliar. Something must have changed. Btw, I used to be able to select between different depths for the UI with the V and B key (iirc) but those don't do anything anymore. The UI is rendered at screen depth.

The Old School, pre-Helix days fix for Elder / Fallout games was to raise the mesh for the sky using the game's editor. Those fixes should still be floating around. Skyrim one might still be on the Nexus.
