Samsung Series 4 PS43D490 and 3D
Hey all,

I have recently got the samsung Series 4 43" Plasma TV. Whenever i change over to the TVs own 3D the image is only about 10% 3D, you can see a slight 3D but hardly nothing at all (Taking the glasses off shows no difference), even the TV itself which usually has a blur effect when in 3D only has a very slight blur.
Is there anything that I am missing with regards to getting the games running into proper 3D?

Side Note: I am not using the Nvidia stereo 3D as it does nothing at all aside from making most games refuse to run.

The fake 3D mode does not work very well as you've found out. Only thing worse is 3DTV Play with it's scaled 720P framepacking and resulting bad image quality. The best thing you can do is trade your samsung xxDxxx for a different samsung that support checkerboard mode so you can do superior native resolution 3D gaming. None of the 2011 plasmas do CB mode so as it stands, your doomed to scaled 720P on a 1080P display.

Yes,but this display is 720p native. I wonder how these 600 hz 720p 3D ready plasmas will do w/ 3DTV Play or 3D PS3 games @ 720p (considering the lack of downscaling?) I have a Samsung 7100 series LED 1080p LCD, and am considering returning it due to it's relative high cost over plasma and still present ghosting on GT5 in 3D (which, like all console games, taps out @ 720p anyway!) Hoping the plasma benefits (and lack of uscaling) results in more immersive PS3 3D gaming experience....
