I am looking at using this for a projector setup. I want to sit on my couch and play games. I am curious, how far can/should the transmitter be from me on the couch, and can it sit lower than my eyes? I am thinking case on the ground transmitter on top, and then that will only maybe reach the height of my butt in the couch. Is it ok that its that "low" below the users watching a 3d movie?

(Hmm... don't know much about this Projector jazz..... am just a simple, orthodox PC gamer.... all I require is my kickass PC, Samsung Monitor.... and oh, my 3D Vision glasses /haha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':haha:' /> .)
It doesn't really matter where you put the IR emitter...... there should be a direct line of vision between your glasses and the emitter, with no obstruction in between.

for myself i have my transmitter placed on a shelf above the pc and not visable while sitting, no problems here. I can walk around the room, even have my back to the emmitter and no flickering, its not till i walk out of the room that i get flickering. Should be fine imo

So, what if I had the emitter completely to my side about 8 ft away? It would have line of sight, but it is completely to my side and by my pc? I am trying to not have to move my pc from the side of my couch (at my pc desk) to the front of my room just to use it for movies....

Unfortunately I DID experience problems, but not all the time.
I would expect that with some messing about I could have sorted it, but I had decided to go the DLP link set up since the glasses are much cheaper.
regretting that appriach a little now, as the glasses get very uncomfortable...
