I would much rather play a game on the PC so I can easily edit, mod, upgrade etc etc the game. Oblivion on PC was much better than on console, there were so many user mods I added that made the game 100 times better than console, I concur with all your thoughts.

I have the 73 inch mits DLP as one of my s3d solutions. This is not just an issue for us Gamers. AT siggraph I heard several stereo3d movie people, like the folks that made coraline and cloudy with a chance of meatballs, monsters v aliens, etc etc. Making the movie look nice and have headache free stereo3d on a large theater screen does not necessarily translate well when you take it home on your smaller tv, they said the s3d settings are not necessarily dymanic and won't be as good and can even perhaps cause headaches that were not experienced watching it at the theater. I think siggraph even had one of the Executives from Sony talking about this on one of the siggraph panels. So now we have this problem with us gamers, What works on a 22 inch screen and is developed and optmized for that, won't work on a small Head mounted display or a large 70 inch DLP or even a 10 foot CRT projection screen like I have with my sony CRT projector. That is why we need an independent stereo3d Gaming Standards group like Neil is proposing, that is not tied to any 1 piece of proprietary hardware. I have hmds, tv, pc monitors, projectors, etc etc etc, Stereo3D games developers needs to think of all these solutions when trying to design and optimize thier games if we are all going to get the premium experience we all want and pay for@!!

While I agree that no convergence control sucks, I believe this game is auto converging. At least it appeared to be switching convergence levels between camera angles. SO if this is the case, I can see why they did it, you will adjust convergence for one angle and that screws up the rest. Not a trend I wish to see, unless its offered as a menu choice. STILL, this is one of the best games Ive seen in 3D yet! I couldnt seem to adjust convergence in Batman either?!

i have to say , it really looks like cutscene graphics all the time with 3d vision its pretty good.
Ubelievable. Just had a look at the screens, and most of them are from the first cutscenes available in the game where there are no ghosting, or at least not much. Fact is that even in these director-made shoots one can see some ghosting. But it bugs me severly to see that these shoots are not representative of the game, that these shoots was made with the clear motive in mind of seducing the customers. And even so, despite their hard tries and perfect camera angels zoomed in on close objects, they couldn't capture one single pop-out, yet they move forward and press the pop-out statement. Really really low moral standards if you ask me. And one gotta ask the question, did they really have to lock the convergence settings? Isn't that just shooting oneself in the other foot? But I guess they like being crippled. I mean c'mon, putting out lies in the public statements is one thing. Making the character unmovable and unplayable is just dumb (..find myself shooting at big enemies at the same time I count-down both my clip and the seconds left to my own death since I can't freakin move but the monsters sure as hell do and they have a big appetite too). But they even lock the gamers only chance of making his gaming experience somewhat improved, now that's just superdumb. Did they sit down at the developers kitchen table and asked: How can we fu*k up the pc gaming experience as much as possible?

I'm also very disappointed with RE5 played in S3D because of the lack of convergance. Blocking convergance was a bad call, the game has awesome graphics and it looks beautiful in 3D but it doesn't look to real cause of that problem we are all complaning about in this thread, it's not full 3D, only half.
After playing Batman for a few days in S3D I can say to all of you it kicks ass in S3D, it's way better than RE5, it's pure 3D, has great convergance. When you die in the game the Joker pops out of your screen to laugh of your death, it's very funny and freaking awesome. This is by far my best 3D gaming experience together with Left for Dead, COD5 and Dead Space.
I don't have any ghost related problems at all like many of you are claiming. It must be a hardware problem on the computer, it's not 3d vision, At least it doesn't happen to me.
Some folks may think that Batman doesn't have convergance cause it takes a lot longer to apply than most of the other games, you have to hold the key you assigned to increase convergance for at least 10 seconds to start seeing the difference, than you can increase how much you want. Batman literally pops out of the screen, amazing, this game was made for 3D, it's 100% 3D stereoscopic, no issues at all, it's perfect you can't even compare Batman with RE5 in 3d experience and I thought RE would be the best 3d experience. Batman is a masterpiece in 3D, its perfect!!
Well, Left for Dead kicks ass in 3D, way better than RE5.
Someone said that Street Fighter IV doesn't have convergance, yes it has!! You just have to adjust it, it's not locked like RE5.
Let's all hope that Capcom will release soon a patch or maybe NV a new driver that will unlock convergance in this great game that RE5 is.
I haven't tried Need for Speed - Shift, I hope it looks great in 3D.

Ok i have just finished RE5 on the PC and i can confirm that even though it is locked the game does look very hot (but your eyes hurt a little at 100%) yeah there is ghosting but to be honest after 5 mins it goes away, except against bright back ground you see it.
Fighting the bosses in 3D is something and the detail in the graphics is unreal - ok i prefered batman it is true the effects seem to be better (eye of the beholder??) but in no way should RE5 be dismissed, in Capcoms defense there is a LOT of cut scenes and i understand why they did what they did, it would be too frustrating changing convergence every 5 mins. It would have been nice to give us the option of the fixed or change it yourself and of course everyone would be happy and i hope in a new patch it will come.
Dont hesitate buy it i assure it's worth it, it's not quite the holy 3D grail we have been waiting for, but the futures bright, the futures 3D....

And I honestly dont understand either how he gets those effects? Maybe he works for nV or Capcom that would explain it, heh.
On my samsung 22 there is some ghosting when increasing depth and it simply ruins the game and no popout.
and on my DLP there is almost no ghosting though a little visible when increasing the depth and still no popout.

It is nowhere near as goodas TRUW and i get lots ot ghosting above 10-15 % depth.
very poor,..has got no where near my expectations !
If Bloody reads this,.....can i ask you to please have a go on your 6211 and let me know if you also have this problem....cheers

I haven't tried Need for Speed - Shift, I hope it looks great in 3D.
