Wow, Mafia 2 - just WOW max settings+high PhysX=37fps with 3D enabled
Maxed the depth out and could have taken more. Just amazing game to see. The graphics seem a little ruff for the requirements but everything for me worked with this game, even shadows were nice. Highest setting @1600x1050, High PhysX settings (gpu-250gts oc edition-physx only) and i was average 47fps and and a high of 145ish. With 3d enabled my average was down to 24fps with a high of 112-ish. Real game play (fraps) i was getting 37 (with 3d and physx) rock solid fps with no dips that were worth noting. For all the bells and whistles on and maxed settings with 3d on i can live with that. Im going to put a small oc on my 280 and try the benchmark again. I have my 1055t oc to 3.5 but im only using 54% on my cpu's and 70ish% of gpu.

With fraps, cpuid hm, 2x cpu-z, core temp, steam, and doing this review i was only using 27% on each core and 1 core at 78%. 100% of my 280GTX and 50% of my 250 for PhysX and got a "c" rating with 49.6 average fps. Eveything at max but aa was off and af was 1x

Same setting but with 3d turn on i get 27 fps average with 101 max. Same gereral cpu usages reported.

WITHOUT physx, shut off in game settings

With 3d enabled (no physx) my average was 37 fps max of 97 fps. My cpu ran the same as with physx on, my 250 dedicated physx card was showing zero usage and 100% on the GTX 280
With NO 3d and NO physx my average was 76.8 fps with a max of 166 fps with a grade of 'B"

With physX running off the cpu and all the same settings

With NO 3d and CPU physX my average fps were 70.4 average and a high of 166 fps. both lows with ether cpu or gpu had a low of 7 fps.

I just took the oc of the 280 and reran the benchmark with cpu physx off and i got 67.7 fps average and a high of 166
NO oc on the 280, physx on the gpu turned off my average 60.6 fps average and high of 166

Now with physX turned back on dedicated back to the gpu and physX turned on my average fps were 46.1 and a max of 147 fps

What were you fps with this game. I really hoped for better results.

Really? you got that type of performance with just one gtx 280? (i know your 250 is doing physx but still)

I'll need to try out the demo sometime, I have two 460's in sli so if I don't surpass your performance I'll be pretty pissed (my cpu is a phenom x4 955).

From doing some more readings and looking closer all the higher posted scores were without physX turned on. I guess this is not to shabby after all :)
