As long as you're using a 15-pin monitor connector with a CRT or 3d compatible
projector, they should work.
As long as the nvidia-vista stereo driver puts out page-flipping 3d-game video
like before, it should work.
It should also work if it puts out horizontally interlaced 3d video.
If the nvidia-vista stereo drivers only put out anaglyph, you could still use the glasses
for field-sequential 3d-dvd's and horizontally interlaced 3d jpeg images.
As usual don't expect them to work on an LCD monitor.
You can buy the glasses and not use the CD it comes with.
For people who love s3d, it's not a big deal to keep an old PC with windows 98se/me/xp
and a geforce2 or 4 and play their choice from 100's of games in good s3d with an
autoranging lasersight and good heads-up display because the screen-depth feature
works like it's supposed to. So don't get hung-up on the phrase "install the latest drivers"
because sometimes the older ones are better. It depends on the game. I upgrade/downgrade
versions all the time because some games work with some versions and others work
better with other versions.
Sure, if you want to play the newest games on the newest video card on the newest OS,
then you're stuck with vista and the newest driver, but anyway, to each his own.
So, would these inexpensive glasses work with an 8600GT, Vista, a CRT monitor that can do 120 Hz, and the new 181.25 drivers? If they won't work with the latest driver, is there another older driver which would work?

nope they would not - I have an nvidia 8600GTS and it has no support for "legacy" shutterglasses. The new nvidia ones are the only option :)

If you run XP and CRT and a older NV graphics card then its a good deal. But try to listen to others who have been around and know about this because lol have tried to get it to work. For older games if thats what you want you will be happy.
