Annoying Blinking problem
From what I'm hearing these new drivers a helping a lot of people. Personally Ive had flashing in all my games for as long as i've had the system, some games it was better (L4D ~every 4-6mins) or Epilepsy inducement mode (Civ 4 ~every 1/2-2 seconds). Today I'm doing a fresh install of Vista x64 and am going to try the new drivers (old vista has the graphics driver crashing ALL THE TIME). Also, do anybody know if you can get two IR emitters working at the same time? I wonder if saturating the room with the IR Sync signal would help.....
You know, I've wondered about that. The blinking/flashing could actually cause a serious concern for anybody prone to seizures. Curious to see no warning attached from nvidia.

No, you cannot use multiple emitters.

I just experienced some flashes, playing DoW : Dark Crusade.
I have had the kit (samsung lcd + nvidia glasses) for some days, and it was the first time I had this problem.
It was only on my left eye, but I had to quit 3D vision real quick as I found it painful.
(I'm running the last drivers).

Okay just got reinstalled and with the test images I can already tell, things are going MUCH better. I'm reinstalling TF2 and L4D to do some more testing but that's a lot of data to pull down so I won't know fully until later. Initial results are good, some of my WiC screenshots that have always given me trouble are behaving themselves.

Did this occur as a result of a new driver installation?

I don't believe that Nvidia has some sort of built-it error codes in the form of flash sequences similar to the Beep error codes in BIOS... :P

No, I don't think so : I still get no flashes playing other games. Only DoW Dark Crusade (but I didn't try this game with the old drivers...)

I just upgraded to the latest drivers 186.18. I now get the white flashes in Stalker Clear Sky. Stalker Shadows of Chernobyl is fine though, no white flashes at all. I aren't using SLI, so that isn't a cause for me. Will go back to the earlier drivers to see if it is still occurring. I'm using Vista 64bit.

I just got my set today. I have the same blinking issues with all the games ive tested thus far. (audiosurf, L4D) Anyone have any luck with a RMA? the blinking hurt my brain  i'm running the newest drivers (186.18), i'm seriously hoping my $200 glasses arn't defective.

system specs:
Q8400
4GB ddr2 1066
gigabyte EP45 UD3
EVGA GTX275
creative x-fi xtrememusic
1tb WD caviar black
corsair HX620
samsung 2233rz

i've also already gotten 2 blue screens from L4D, first one when i changed my video shader from low to very high, the second when I finished a campaign and closed L4D. I'm thinking it has to do with the 3d vision drivers.... /thumbsdown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I've just made a simple experiment - took the TV remote and pushed a few buttons while using the glasses... as expected "white" blinking appeared, because the glasses loose sync from the IR transmitter. This way the blinking problem is more severe, so maybe the whole problem is being caused by some reflected infrared light that messes the synchronization just for a bit, but enough to cause the annoying "white" blinking...

that would not explain the blinking observed only when SLI is enabled for me.. zero blinking without SLI for most games..same room

I don't use SLI and sometimes have the blinking problem too, it is most likely a problem in the drivers... but if somebody gets the problem more often and for longer periods of time it might be coming from some sort of infrared device in the same room that is messing with the glasses synchronization. The most important thing is that the problem is not caused by a defective hardware - for example problematic glasses or something like that.

Hi

Let me try to get to the bottom of the flashing issues.

- 3rd party IR signals. 3D Vision could get interference from other 3rd party devices. To solve this, we have an option in our 3D Vision Setup wizard to select a mode that is compatible with remote controls. try configuring that.
- Lighting. Some types of lighting can cause interefence as well. If you are having lens flashes try, turning off lights near you first to ensure there is no other issue.
- Low Battery. The lens will start to flash when the battery is running out. Try running your glasses with the USB cable plugged in and charing and see if your flashing occurs.
- Dont use a USB hub for IR emitter. Sometimes bandwidth passing over the USB hub can cause some sync problems with the IR emitter. Try plugging the emitter direclty into your PC.

When all else fails, it may simply be a hardware issue. We will investigate and SW bugs that may cause this

1.) I do not own a tv and thus I have no remotes. Also, I unplugged my wireless mouse / reciever and put it in another room.
2.) I play with all lights turned off.
3.) The IR emitter is plugged directly into the motherboard. It is positioned on top of my keyboard.
4.) I charged the glasses for 4 hours and still got blinking. I also tried with the glasses plugged in.

Do I have a defective unit? Should I send for an RMA? Also, why didn't they make the glasses work w/o the IR emitter when they are plugged into the usb? seems like a no-brainer to me.
Just to be sure its not an interference problem, i'm gonna list all the peripherals that are on my desk. Maybe we can find a pattern here for people who are having the blinking problem.

Logitech G11 keyboard
Logitech G5 mouse
Logitech Z2300 speakers
Logitech usb mic (right next to IR emitter)
(yes I'm a Logitech fan)

I'm guessing its a SW bug since everytime I close L4D or Audiosurf with 3D enabled, I blue screen. This never happens with 3D disabled.
