I just tried the updated fix and was instantly blown away! With this fix all of my issues disappeared and now the complete game is a thing of sheer beauty!
1) Krypt convergence is fixed and now I can crank up the convergence like I normally do
2) Convergence for Fatalities has also been fixed and now I can go way higher with convergence than the 20-value that was the absolute maximum you could go before if you didn't want to mess things up
3) the convergence auto-switching after a brutality has been fixed.
After spending hours of testing different convergence settings these are my convergence-preferences:
1) While fighting (fix-hotkey F1): 425 (already included in the fix-presets)
2) Fatality-Convergence (fix-hotkey F2): 80
3) Krypt-Convergence (fix hotkey F3): 100 (already included in the fix-presets)
@DJ-RK: You forgot to update the section under "key bindings" in the D3DX.ini. So while the presets are correctly defined under "Convergence Presets" you still get the "old" preset values on-screen when switching via the hotkeys. For example the section under "key bindings" still has the 250,500,700 convergence values for "during fights". So when you switch via the hotkeys those "old" values appear on screen although you are actually switching between 250, 425, 600 (just like defined under "Convergence Presets). Just wanted to let you know...

Nope. I didn't even bother to include the alternate d3dx.ini in this pre-release since it's no longer needed (and better off using the original trigger for the fatals preset).

So glad that you're enjoying this fix without compromise now! And thanks for the heads up. Was pretty tired when I was doing the fix touch up that I knew I was forgetting something, but my brain wasn't functioning enough to know what it was (or have the energy to spend further in tracking it down). There's still a couple minor things I need to refix, like the waves emitted from Kronika's Hourglass being at the wrong depth, that I also didn't have the fortitude to get around to, but will at some point over the weekend before posting it up to the blog.

This is my experience as well. Also it's funny but these are also the exact convergence values which I feel are perfect. I did have to speed up some of the transitions a bit as i think 1000 is too slow, it messes with my brain :P. I used 500
I've personally modified the HUD to be slightly in depth .1 at all times as well. (I know this is more of a preference thing I just always find in 3d anything hud related at screen depth to be jarring but don't often like it pushed too far in unless it's a reticle or such.
I personally need to either turn bloom off or take particle effects down one notch to prevent mild stutters at times atm Ive opted with slightly lower particle effects.
Great fix Dj-Rk much appreciated.

It seems the last update broke the fight convergence presets. While I am still able to dial through convergence presets for Fatalities (hotkey F2) and Krypt (hotkey F3), dialing through the fight convergence presets (hotkey F1) doesn't have any effect (although the on-screen info for the various presets still appears when pressing F1).
Any idea?

Yep, having the same issue. I do appreciate the xtra effort that went into this DJ-RK but if this is going to break like this every-time NRS updates (and it will be alot for this game) I'd prefer it was just standard presets with the fatality/fatal blow auto-Convergence like Masterotaku did for tekken. Never seen a problem quite like this before.

Bummer. I'll try to take a look at this as early as I can this week. Wish I had learned of this earlier this weekend and been able to spend some time today working on this. It's just hard for me to sometimes find the energy to even stay awake, let alone productive, after 10 hour shifts of demolition/construction work. Last week, for example, I literally had no energy to play games at all during the week. Hopefully the new site I'm at this week won't be as physically demanding on me as the last one. I'll see if I can make a stripped down version of the fix that can be used as a failsafe for immediately after updates, and still try to maintain the full featured fix as much as possible... or even better, just build in a toggle between the two.

Sorry, would have given the info earlier but I tested the new update a little late and instantly posted here when I noticed that the fight convergence presets were broken!
Thanks for your continuous support (this game is really testing your mettle with every update - and there are a lot - breaking something)!
I guess it's time for another donation! Check your PayPal! ;-)

Oh, no need to be sorry, I didn't mean that as "you should have told me sooner," I just meant I wish I had time to work on it that day before getting into my busy & exhausting work week, since I might not have been able to look at it before next weekend. Fortunately/unfortunately I've got a throat/nasal infection (yay) and am off work today, so will try to spend some time on this today.

Cheers mate. This is really only testing my patience in the sense that HUD shaders (which are what I use to help trigger the fight preset) are usually exempt from the whole 'updates break fixes' deal, as the HUD shaders very rarely are touched via updates. I've done as much as I can for the fix via regex to mitigate updates being an issue, so it really just comes as a bit of a shock, but it's definitely nowhere near as bad as having to redo an entire fix due to period updates, and if I take it this next step further by providing a static HUD/convergence mode then at least I won't have to worry about updates making the fix unplayable, just losing some optional bells and whistles.

Anyways, sorry for the delay guys, multiple health issues suddenly arose over the past 48-72 hours, and I've only just barely been able to function enough to get through these days. Due to being in an excrutiating amount of pain, and now taking prescriptions for said issues, I'm not going to set an expected time when I'll get to this, but know that it is in the forefront of my mind to get resolved.

Thanks for your patience guys. Had a rough week, woke up one day with a dislocated collarbone, which came a day after getting a throat & sinus infection. Thankfully that's all mostly cleared up now.
Even still, my energy and patience with this game is wearing a bit thin (and also with 3DMigoto, actually, since it's scene detection method is always a headache, and is now made worse with this update), so I've only so far been able to do the bare minimum to get the autoconvergence somewhat working (not all fatal blows seem to trigger the fatals preset, but at least it falls back on the driver default convergence of 20) and nothing else, but I also created a static convergence version, with it's own d3dx.ini file stored in a folder inside the zip. Just overwrite the main d3dx.ini file with that one if you'd prefer to use that version. I've modified the keys accordingly for that version:
F1: Cycles between various gameplay convergences
F2: A toggle switch to switch between 80 convergence and back to your preferred convergence (aka manual Fatals button). Recommended to change this to another key of your choosing that's easily accessible.
F3: Cycle between various HUD depth settings
I fixed broken screenspace reflections on the tournament level (and I think the Cyber Lin Kuei), but there's probably a few other stages with some re-broken effects with these patches (most certainly there is stuff in the Krypt). Feel free to report any and I'll get around to fixing those too, I'm just too tired to go through all the stages right now and I'm also hoping to get a feature added/enabled in 3DMigoto that would prevent these things from re-breaking with updates, so am holding off on doing much more fixing until hopefully that may get added.

Aww man sorry to hear of your troubles.
This is a real shame too the game was pretty much flawless with your previous version, and as I play usually on stick I guess the only option for manual convergeance is Pad with a thumbstick setting.
I think early on they had pretty poor performance with shadows and such as well so they are probably making tweaks to various graphics to improve performance. Also this game will likely get at least 2 seasons of DLC and continued updates just like Tekken has.

All the best to you!
