SuperDepth 3d
  9 / 16
Is there a guide for "dummies" for how to get this to work? All I downloaded so far is the stuff from Blueskydefender github but I have no idea what to do next. Read the readme but doesn't really say how to get this working. I have no idea what reshade is. Can someone please post a step by step guide for 3D vision owners? I'm also using the Acer 4k mod if that makes any difference. thanks.

They changed things up a little from when I grabbed ReShade 3 when zig(link) told me how to do it, it was a zip file... now it's an exe/installer, I haven't tried dgVoodoo2 this way yet but it *should* work... Download ReShade 3.0(beta 9) from http://reshade.me/ Run ReShade Setup > Select Game > Select Rendering API(10+ when using dgVoodoo2?) Copy SuperDepth3D.fx to the game's install directory(and dgVoodoo2(DDraw.dll,D3DImm.dll,D3D8.dll) if < d3d9) Run game and Press Shift+F2 in-game to view the Config If there's no SuperDepth3D Config in the drop-down Menu click '+' and Create one *should look similar to this: *tweaking the settings is a bit more complicated, but fairly self-explanatory, some games work really well out of the box, others require a certain Depth Map. If it looks odd/off turn Depth Map View on, sometimes it's inverted and needs to be flipped. *I saved a copy of the SuperDepth3D.ini with certain settings preset, checkerboard, depth, etc. that way I don't have to set them every time. I just have to copy it over to the folder, that said it's never showed up in the drop-down menu for me but once I enter it manually it uses it.

This is very nice piece of software and tons of games are supported with a little tweaking and it really doesn't look bad at all. Thanks BlueSkyKnight

The only thing that is slightly weird is that the world seems to blow out in the bottom half and it kinda looks like your always running uphill or something. I remember back in the day when Gears of War 3 had an SBS mode and it looked similar. Is there a way to adjust for that effect? I wouldn't mind a little more halo if I could get rid of that bowing out effect near the bottom of the screen. It's still amazing either way and almost looks as good as geometry 3D.
... almost looks as good as geometry 3D.
Sorry to say this, but NO IT DOESN'T... It' a TON far from it. It does look GOOD though;) I am also very happy, because now I can finally stop doing any Geometry 3D fixes since we have this awesome tool ;) Also, I find it funny, how everyone thinks that NVIDIA CM is crap but this one is awesome! (Even comparing it to geometry stereo - Geometry Stereo is the REAL stereo, everything else is a SIMULATION/EMULATION). I still find Nvidia CM superior in certain areas! But what this tool gives us is the ability to tweak the shader to our NEEDS/WANTS rather then being locked... And for this A BIG BIG KUDOS! Comparing NV-CM and SuperDepth3D Side-by-side you will see they don't differ that much by default! But, lacking the ability to configure things in NV-CM makes is a lesser solution:) (Since here you can play with the formula for the depth-map and eliminate some of the issues). This reminds me, I need/will probably update my wrapper with Reshade 3.0 when is out of the Beta version:) So, everyone will be happy then ^_^ Yeyeye!

I was just super excited since there's no way to fix older/<d3d9 games and I've never had much luck with dgVoodoo2 and 3DMigoto... sure I'm not a huge fan of fake 3D(especially halos) but I still think it's awesome, it's user/community created, it's also extremely versatile(d3d8-11/OpenGL, even more so coupled with dgVoodoo2), fairly easily configurable and it's unrestricted... I can get the same amount of Depth as 3D Vision by editing the cfg file even higher than the in-game slider.

Keep in mind. If you have any problems. Please tell me. I am constantly working on this. The only way I can make it better is feed back. Also tell me if I made a mistake. The reason I added the 2nd Blur Type was to try to protect Details in the image. Blur Does not blur the output image but the Depth Map itself. This is done in the hopes it Limits/Mask the sharp halo effect. As of right now update 1.8.9 is in the experimental stage because a some users seems to have a problem with a few games I don't own to test. When the problems are solved. Then I will Push this as the main update for reshade 2.0 and 3.0. Shader 1.8.8 is Working well right now. Thats Depth Map 2 on 1.8.9 for rehsade 3.0 for Doom. It's kind of wonkers For me I had restart doom like 2 times before it allows me to even interact with reshade. There will be issues keep in mind Reshade and my Shader are still under Development. When Problems are found please report them.

Can someone explain these modes to me? Will these modes make some games look better/worse than the standard Nvidia mode? Will these modes make some games run with higher/lower framerates than the standard Nvidia mode? Standard mode, compatibility mode, TAB mode, SBS mode, huh??? Lol

CM/ Compatibility Mode = this No matter what format/mode you use, the image still needs to be rendered twice in full frames. TAB/TnB = Top and Bottom SBS/SbS = Side by Side and are stereoscopics formats, you can Google them.

First of all, thank you BlueSkyDefender for making this. I saw the Doom screenshots and decided to finally try this out(thought it would be more complicated to set up). I am now able to play Doom in 3d(not enough gpu power for Helifax's fix). I agree with Conan481's comment on the 'bottom half blow out', feels like I'm stuck crouching. I then decided to try GTA V, and noticed something odd. When driving in 1st person mode, the windshield affects the 3d image. Looking forward (through the windshield), everything is in 2d, while in a convertible the sides show a 3d image. I decided to shoot out the windshield, and where the glass was gone it then rendered a 3d image. I don't know if this is even possible to fix, just wondering if anyone else had noticed it.

I would recommend some of you try this out before dismissing it right off the bat. True, the 3D fixes made by some of the people here are top-notch, but the flexibility of being able to tweak with this tool makes it far superior to the CM mode we get from Nvidia. I love playing Witcher 3 in 3D, but no way I can get acceptable framerates on my 4K 3DTV using the 3D fix. With some tweaking, I get excellent 3D using this shader with minimal impact on performance. At minimum, we have another alternative for games to try when 3D is broken and no one is making a fix for it.
