blue lines/dots flickering - cable problem
Hi everyone, I've got a bit of a weird problem, its nothing drastic but I'm getting blue dots/lines on my samsung 2233z monitor but only when i use my 10m dvi-d not the one that came with the monitor (its too short by a long way! /pinch.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':pinch:' />) , but the strange bit is that it only happens when steroscopic is on and nothing is rendered to the screen. Its a bit difficult to explain but the times i notice it the most is on CODMW2 on the campaign when its on the movie before you start a mission there's a band at the top and bottom which isn't quite black but its as if nothing is being drawn onto the screen and thats where i see the blue lines, the other time is when its black just as you start a mission and it comes up with the green writing, I even thought about taking a screen shot to show you what i mean but it comes out fine!. If i turn off the 3d (in the control panel) but leave the game on 120hz its fine and i dont see lines, with the 3d on as soon as it goes into the game there's no lines.

I've tried all the different refresh rates (100,110 and 120hz) and they all do the same, I've tried it without SLI and its the same the only cure is turning off the 3d on the control panel or use the super short cable that came with the monitor.

I tried a cheap dual link cable off ebay (£8 /shock.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />!) and it did a similar thing but a lot lot worse and i could see it all the time and it would even do it on the boot screen (before windows loads), so I bought a better one and its fixed everything except for when nothing is on the screen and i cant work out why /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

has anyone else had any problems like this?

Hi Julian. I also have dots & lines, but the are green. It happend sometimes. When it starts, it does not stop, even if stereo is off. I'll try to find other cable(s) to try.

I changed my cable, and it seems that the green dots/lines are away ;) I hope it is fixed.
