Elite Dangerous Fix
  2 / 32
Two good examples are the Alien and Mordor fixes: Alien is a smallish fix, but shows the technique: https://github.com/bo3b/3Dmigoto/tree/master/Alien Mordor is a really involved fix with some more tricky HLSL code using 'if' statements to change behavior: https://github.com/bo3b/3Dmigoto/tree/master/Mordor Ignore the shaders outside of the ShaderFixes folder, those are for my benefit as Decompiler problems. The actual fix is d3dx.ini+ShaderFixes. DarkStarSword has a whole raft of other 3D fixes as well. https://github.com/DarkStarSword/3d-fixes I think the Alien example is probably the best one for your purposes.

@andysonofbob Go to DarkStarSword github 3d-fixes...he put comments and explain how he fix each shader. I'm learning a lot only by reading his comments.

I am getting weird artifacts where the window frame is at. it looks like an invisible frame near the original frame of the window.. I was going to make a video but I am unable as fraps did not have the option to record a stereoscopic 3D Movie for some reason.. it may be driver related.. I dl'd the helixmod fix and put all the files in the folder specified in the readme?? How can I post a JPS image screenshot?? I tried NVidia live but was unable to upload the screenshot??

The other trick you can do is to edit your post, and add IMG links using your posted jps as seen here: Those images suggest that you are running in CM. The top HUD parts have that clipping/bending effect, the halo around the windshield frames are probably up close items, smeared to make the CM work. Ctrl-Alt-Ins to see what mode you are in.

Yeah, unfortunately you will get the same with the sun. For this 'fix' I just disabled the major dodgy shaders which could be removed without too much of an effect on the game and corrected the depth of the nebula and starfields. I don't know how to fix issues like the shadow-like doubling of objects but remove the texture was too much of a immersion breaker. That one is beyond me sadly. Soz. :( I tend to try not to look directly at the sun or planets when mining. And in combat you are only facing it for a matter of seconds. Plenty of other directions to look at in space! :) You didn't mention problems with the nebula. Presumably they are OK for you? I have been obsessing over this one? I can't see for myself atm (at work). If they are 2D will you let me know what system you are in please? Thanks!

Hi again sorry for the double post. Odd. Your starfield and neb look 2D but you seem to be in the training mission. I notice you have the orangy glow on the dashboard which I had to remove. Have you defo put the files in the FORC-FDEV-D-1010 folder? For me its C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Elite Dangerous\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1010 Thanks! ps this is what it looks like for me. Please ignore the asteroids in front of the planet but look at the nebula and starfield compared to yours...

Copy the files and folders from inside the "Elite Dangerous fix" folder into your FORC-FDEV-D-1010 folder. It should look a bit like this screenie. (Without the ShaderCache folder.) I just swapped monitors and I didn't need to tweak the nebula! I did need to adjust and then save convergence settings though because I reinstalled drivers...

Hmmm, very strange. Will you take a screenshot of the folder you installed the fix too please? Also so we can compare screenies, will you enter the Docking training mission and take a screeny facing the station please and rotating until your cockpit is lit and you can see the nebula? Like this... Thanks.
