Video card selection help
Ok. Need some advice with choosing a video card that can run 3D games smoothly with high video settings. I will link my system specs and my current picks for a card. Sorry for linking instead of typing but im doing this from my cell phone. Thanks in advance for your help.

My system (bone stock):
gateway.com/systems/product/529668220.php

Cards:
newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814143211&cm_re=nvidia_1gb_video_card-_-14-143-211-_-Product

With an upgraded power supply.

Or:
newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500144&cm_re=9800_1gb-_-14-500-144-_-Product

Ill be on a 65 mitsu dlp. Im not overly computer savy so i thought id ask ppl that are, and are familiar with the 3D tech. Thanks again!

Of those 2 the GTS 250 is quicker IIRC. What res is your DLP - 1280*720? If it is you should just get away with a GTS 250. I have a GTX260 core216 (pretty similar speed to a GTS250) and run 1280*960 on a CRT and it copes fine in 95% of games.

If you can wait the new generation card's are supposed to be out next month so this generation should drop in price.A good rule of thumb is get the most powerful you can afford,or the cheapest that will get you by until you can get the most powerful.

Awsome advice. Didnt know next get was coming out so soon. I will gladly wait for the price to drop. Was thinking of going for a gtx 260. Glad to hear they will be dropping. Thanks again.
