Hey
First of all thanks for letting us know about the announcement, its good to know this branch of your technology is not completely abandoned. I dont really want to guess whats that about as we will all know when the time comes.
What I would like to do is to give you an idea of what this community might really benefit from, who knows maybe you can elaborate on it at Nvidia and come up with something along those lines.
So to the point. The best thing the community can get is a piece of software that will allow semi-proficient users to fix games by themselves. I mean something that have an actual interface and doesnt require indepth knowledge and a lot of manual labour or complex operations to avoid it.
That's it. I'm 100% sure the community will take care of itself just fine and you wont hear any more whining about 3d vision being not supported. There are plenty of people who would be willing to dedicate their free time to fix games for free, for others to enjoy if they would be able to. I'm not talking about an automatic software that have to be dumb-proof as we can all learn a thing or two (if there are ways to fix some things automatically that's great).
Its a win-win situation, the community gets the tool to fix whatever they want and you dont have to care and throw money at developers to get several titles 3dvision ready per year. I'm sure nobody would want to charge for fixes if such a solution would be available so you would be able to use and promote this on your official website so its available for everybody to enjoy (I'm really sad for people that have bought 3d vision and dont know about helixmod).
I'm not sure if this is possible but hey you are the guys that have invented it and I bet you have many talented people in your team, maybe something like this would be worth considering.
If this was already suggested I'm sorry for bringing this up again but for me this is the first conclusion to the situtaion where nvidia dont want/cant fix games, the devs are not interested as well to make their games perfect but the tech is already there and its been shown that games can be fixed.
Just give us the tools, we as a community can carry it over. I'm really sick of posting on game-dev forums asking for 3d support in their games. I know that we can't start a petition and get even 10K on 3d vision support but that doesnt mean we can be ignored and left alone with what 3 games per year that are playable out of the box?
