so what does everyone use for the 3D depth %? for best 3D result im talking about good 3D effects coming out of the screen etc etc with out getting a massive migraine

I usually use about 50% depth. However Convergence is much much more important than depth. With the right amount of convergence per game, even a low depth setting will look stunning. Without headaches. If you want 'pop-out' in games you absolutely must set convergence to do so. Every game has pop-out potential. Convergence is key.

In fact, I'd go further and say that Depth doesn't matter a dam' as compared to Convergence ! After all, all the games are 3D even without 3D Vision( calling gaming without 3D Vision 2D isn't strictly fair !) and some depth can be perceived even without 3D Vision. But for Convergence aka 'POP-OUT' effect, 3D Vision IS required ! And THAT, in my opinion, is what makes all the difference between stunning 3D Vision Gaming and ordinary Gaming !

I'm pretty new to this. Do you have to do anything with convergence if the game loads a profile from Nvidia?
Or do the profiles contain pretty much the best settings?

I always make my own profiles. Even if the nvidia driver has them, unless the game has locked convergence like Mafia2, Metro2033. MOST games are free to tweak at will. Nvidia cannot know how 3d will affect everyone so usually profiled games have either very mild or no convergence at all. Meaning, nothing will go beyond screen depth and in some cases still look flat in extreme distances. Every game I have (other than the two mentiond above) I've made my own convergence prefrence and saved it. Mess with it, get to know your eyes, and you will have a good 3d experience.

Small pop-out, OK... but in some types of games, it's about depth. Like in World of Warcraft - having things pop-out is just darn annoying :)
But.. good things is, everyone can adjust settings to their liking.
Some enjoy massive pop-out, some don't.

Go to your Nvidia control panel, and Set up Stereoscopic 3d. Click on 'Set keyboard Shortcuts'. In there enable 'advanced in-game settings' You'll see an increase/decrease convergence settings. When in game, HOLD DOWN your convergence shortcut to watch the convergence increase or decrease. Use the save feature to save your own profile. Thats it! All you have to do is find the right balance for YOU. :)

Spot on !!
I disagree.
Small pop-out, OK... but in some types of games, it's about depth. Like in World of Warcraft - having things pop-out is just darn annoying :)
But.. good things is, everyone can adjust settings to their liking.
Some enjoy massive pop-out, some don't.
im new to the 3D thing as well and i dont wanna sound ignorant but where can i tweak this convergence u speak about? i though convergence was the same as the 3D depth adjuster that u have set to 50%?!
