What is the best 3D Video Player and how to use it?
1 / 4
I just got the 3D Vision 2 yesterday and I'm trying to play some 3D videos and movies but no video player is running them correctly! I tried Media Player Classic, KMPlayer, PotPlayer and more.. none of them get detected by the 3D Vision,
The only 3D Video Player that works is Nvidia 3D Video Player.. which is sucks now because it doesn't have a lot of important features and doesn't even support subtitles!
So is there anything except Nvidia 3D Video Player can play 3D Videos and can get detected by the 3D Vision? "Games are working fine BTW"
I have 3D Vision 2 & ASUS ROG SWIFT PG278Q.

For 3D Blu-ray discs Cyberlink's PowerDVD Ultra or Corel WinDVD Pro.

Stereoscopic player.
Try the demo. I think its only problem is actual blu ray disc[since encrpytion/liscensing shit].
It sounds like your interested in an actual player. Nvidia 3d video player was actual a lite rip of the stereoscopic player that was liscenced to nvidia. Its easily the most robust player.

Thanks guys! Actually PotPlayer worked when I set the settings of "3D Video Output" as "Stereostopic 3D (In Win8 or newer)",
There is an option "Nvidia 3D Vision" there but it doesn't work! which is weird.. I guess it must be working on 7 or lower then.
And I just tried Stereoscopic player it's great ! Thanks again :)

Does anybody else have problems with Power DVD? I'm using Win DVD currently which works but it hasn't been updated for the latest blu-rays.
I can't get Power DVD to display movies in 3d although 3d vision is working and even displays the interface in 3d. Tried contacting Power DVD customer service they wanted me to install a bunch of software for system diagnosis.

Stereoscopic player reads 3D Bluray, open the BDMV \ STREAM \ SSIF \ .ssif file.
If you don't want to buy the full version ($40), use the CST lisence file from Nvidia Player on the latest Stereoscopic player version.
How to update 3D Vision Player
Install the latest version of Stereoscopic player:
http://www.3dtv.at/Downloads/Index_en.aspx
Then replace in the software folder, the nVidia license (C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Stereoscopic Player):
http://www.mediafire.com/?4rn40oq1mq1b0dp
Please note, if like me you have a full license of Stereoscopic Player, do not replace your license in the installation folder, copy rather the Stereoscopic Player files to another folder (like C: \ Program Files (x86) \ NVIDIA Corporation \ NVIDIA 3D Vision Video Player) prior to crush the license. In order to keep both operational software.
If necessary, here the old 3DVision Player (v1.7.5), which has the nVidia CST license.
http://fr.download.nvidia.com/Windows/3d_vision_stereo/3D_Vision_Video_player/NVIDIA-3D-Vision-Video-Player-1.7.5.msi
------------------------------------------
For PowerDVD:
Try to enable 3D during the playback. (via the pyramid or CTRL + T ). 3D Vision must be turn on, in the Nvidia control panel.
In Power DVD there is a 3D icon, try to click on it. You must have the Ultra version for 3D playback. (either 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 or 15)
All that info that dugom just talked about is in my first link, plus the answer to your question about sub-titles.
People are lazy, a link is to much. They never want to read more than what they look for. :)
For Subtitles in 3D, I use Windows media player with ffdshow.
Subtitles from Bluray 3D have mostly wrong or moving space placement. I hate that.
--------------------------------------
Here's how to adjust 3D subtitles with Windows media player (SBS):
If you haven't already, download and install ffdshow:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow-tryout/
Now run an SBS 3D video, his subtitle file (.srt) should be in the same folder and have the same name (exept the extention).
In the bottom right in the taskbar, a red icon will appear (rectangle), noted FFV (for Video), double click it.
Then go to "Subtitles" (down elevator) and select it, then in the "Placement" tab set the "Vertical position" of 93%, check Stereoscopic, put the "Parallax" under the "s" of ffdshow (Alignment) maybe a little bit more if you watch movies in 16: 9 (without black bars), then in the "Font" tab set the "Scale Y" at 200%, the "Body" 15 , and "Shadow" to 0.

If you use the codec packs K-lite:
http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm
It may be useful to use the Codec Tweak Tool to select ffdshow:

To prevent ghosting (Crosstalk) use the rabbit pattern to set your 3D:

One everyone forget is sView. It is free and very lightweight.
I just saw it was updated looking at the version history page but that new version is not showing on the news page. I wrote to Kirill to fix this. I will have to test that latest version soon!
Will start a thread only for this player and will invite Kirill.

If you have a NVIDIA graphic card with NVIDIA 3D Vision support on your computer or laptop? WinDVD Pro 11 automatically enters Exclusive mode to play high-definition video files in 3D mode, greatly optimizing your 3D playback experience.

You could try checking their forums for a solution.
