Exactly same problem

If I can comment on the 3D in Dx11 it seems that if I put low or medium options the game will hold me much longer in 3D. I was able to play at least 45 minutes in a row without being hanged. I do not know if you have to see that if you have to put yes or if Media Frequency in SYNC V. the fps are all the time to 30 and I have no idea whether to put everything in Ultra then I can not with so much load and therefore restart . Test yourselves to see if it works for you as well.
All options To max in dx11 and no crashes for hours of playing

@Chtiblue: yes I have DX12 working, fullscreen checked, exclusive checked, maxed out graphics with AA, blur, and DoF off with SBS 3d on. Runs way better than I expected at 4K, not sure why it might be crashing for you. (1080ti)

I should take note of so many problems with 3D in this game and solve it, right?
If you look at Square/Enix track record they have always address problems with the Tomb Raider serious.
Be thankful that Square/Enix included build in 3D.
SO people who have got this working, what's the quality of the 3d support actually like? Is it 3d ready?
The previous game still had significant problems after nixxes added official support. (but not to make it unplayable.)
