So I happen to be one of those people who thought buying a Playstation TV would be a great idea for using with 3DTV Play. Obviously it doesn't work, and that was fine because I didn't do enough research. Now, I'm just about ready to pull my hair out. I just bought a new receiver with 3D passthrough because I have read that others have been able to successfully use 3D with this TV if there was a receiver in between. So, I made sure that this receiver was supported for sure. Now I found out that the computer doesn't recognize this receiver at all. My computer still recognizes the monitor at the other end (SCEI Monitor). I have gotten nowhere.

Did you buy 3DTV Play? It's $40.
Do you have a Nvidia 3D Vision emitter? If so, 3DTV Play is free as long as it's connected.
That monitor is officially "unsupported" by Nvidia!
So if you try an "unofficial" workaround, it will not work unless you have one of the first two things mentioned!
I am using the trial. I realize that it is not supported, but I had seen that when other people had plugged their pc into a receiver, it would detect the receiver and not the monitor. This would enable 3DTV play to work. I guess this receiver is different.

That treceiver is on the 3DTV play supported list.

An AVR if working correctly will allow the GPU to see the display on the other side, so that the GPU can offer the propwer resolutions and timings.

okay, so I'm seeing the AVR while my other TV is turned off. Is there any way to stop the computer from auto detecting the display when I turn it on? This might trick the software into letting me use it.

So, I've figured out that when I switch to the receiver with the monitor at the other end off the 3D options are no longer greyed out. Anyone know how I could get the computer to only recognize the AVR and not the TV?
