Finally picked this up and had a chance to play a bit. It does look really good, better than I expected graphics-wise from Bethesda based on their past efforts with Oblivion and the more recent Fallout titles. Installed Dorkit's mod and everything looks good so far so thanks for the work there.

I wasn't happy with the default 3D sight options so I went ahead and tried to copy the Skyrim crosshair using some of the tricks found in previous cursor mod threads:
http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=211376&hl=custom sight&st=0
http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=195958&st=0&p=1210299&hl=lasersight&fromsearch=1&#entry1210299

You guys can see the results below. Works fine and looks pretty good, but does not get the animated pulse when you target an object or npc. I went ahead and attached the nvstres.dll if any of you want to use it, but may tweak it a bit more later.

Thanks again to the threads above on the tips on making custom cursors. :)

Edit: Made a few more sights and added some attempts at bordered crosshair with a wider "box" in the center. The official crosshair is still thinner I know, but I kept my version mostly symmetrical because I just don't have the necessary skill to blend the colors down to 1 pixel. Still, I think they look pretty good, there's quite a few to choose from.

Just unzip the file and drop nvstres.dll in C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\3D Vision

Then open up NVCP and choose whichever 3D sight you prefer for Skyrim.

Guys, I don't know if anyone is playing with Ugrids=7 ( I personally don't have a powerful enough machine), but I definitely recommend it, it makes all the difference in the world. Also increasing the default monitor size beyond the default 100% nvidia setting adds to immersion (as well as the ghosting, so try by 25% instead of 50% if you are not using a ghosting-free solution, which I'm not :D).

I'm using the Ugrids mod and it certainly helps reduce texture and LOD pop-in, but also makes the outdoor FPS issues a tiny bit worst too. There's just some areas in Skyrim you're going to get terrible FPS and low GPU utilization it seems. Not uncommon in MMOs, I guess Skyrim with such a huge world isn't too much different. Like in Whiterun I get 35-40FPS and only ~40-50% GPU utilization facing East, but if I face West toward the blacksmith, FPS pop up to 60. Same indoors or any dungeon....60FPS np. Many seem to think its because Skyrim is only dual core optimized and CPU limited with distant draw distance settings.

I've tried a few other tweaks too, most are just eye-candy with little performance hit but I haven't found anything in the way of performance improving panaceas. The one tweak I did find made a nice difference was to disable Vsync in Skyrimprefs.ini by adding "iPresentInterval=0" under [Display]. This may make gameplay smoother for you overall. Also, if you are using a 360 controller, make sure to increase look/camera sensitivity. This seemed to make my camera view scroll much smoother, as I believe the gamepad polling rate was linked to refresh rate, making camera panning really jerky.

Chiz, don't you get terrible tearing with vsync off, I do take advantage of disabling it in 3rd person games, but 1st person ones seem to tear a lot.
Also what mod are you using for Ugrids, I just edit the Skyrim.ini? Is there any mod that enables on the fly switching without affecting ones saves?

I'm using this water mod http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=711 and improves a lot the water in Skyrim, but doesn´t shows correctly in 3D, this is the big problem still present. Water is beautifull, and there is a lot of water in Skyrim.

I also recomend to use this mod http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=279 to remove the stealth indicator (well, not completely, but only a little dot remains), disable the crosshair in the game menu, and use one of the Nvidia modified crosshairs we all know (I like the grey color).

There is also another "problem". Thanks to Dorkit we can see now the clouds well placed in 3D, but most of us we have monitors (not pjs), and monitors show us a lot of ghosting in some circunstances, and this is one of those circunstances. There is a lot of clouds, and it is neither necessary nor real, and causes a lot of ghosting.

Yes, the realistic water mod is great, but it adds substantially to the problem, as for the sky the only troubles I'm getting are related to the wrong placement of the moon, than again I am using a plasma tv. The only thing I rather dislike about the game is that you can't disable the hud and still get notifications for quests and level ups, or any type of stamina/health/magicka status. I hope someone makes a mod related to that, for example, having a red shader over the screen in case you don't have full health.

AO doesn't work in Skyrim with 3D enabled. I tried it with the new drivers and the previous set with the Fallout 3 compatibility. Weird thing is if you disable 3D in the control panel and then launch the game in 2D, it works.

Not so weird, actually. It is probably a 3dvision setting, which automatically disables AO.

I think that is not the problem cause Batman series always has AO on when 3D Enabled. There is something about the registry i think, i will investigate. What Nvidia is saying about this issue, can you support us pls??
