Which games scream out for auto-convergence? vent your frustration
Many games don't give you good camera control and developers just don't get how important this is to 3d gaming. Nvidia should make their drivers so that the 3d settings optionally change automatically based on scene content. This also should be user-tweakable of course. This is needed in at least three categories of game situations.
So...
Which games would you like to play in 3d that zoom in/out uncontrollably ruining your 3d view since new settings are needed for the new zoom level?
Tombraider: this is a classic example of uncontrollable camera movement always zooming into her face or other body-parts. OK, it's not completely uncontrollable but you know what I mean.
Eragon: this game likes to give you a close-up view of a killing move during combat and it makes the game very annoying in 3d.
Which games do you use alot of controlled zooming in that would benefit from autoconvergence? This includes zooming in with some kind of scope as well as RTS games where you zoom in/out of the battle scene alot.
Thief 1, 2, 3 would all benefit from this, as well as many FPS's.
Starwars, Force Commander
Universe at War needs this feature if you zoom alot as well as
Warcraft 3 and other RTS's.
and finally...
Which games have alot of 3d-rendered cutscenes that need separate 3d settings? This includes alot of adventure games where you do alot of talking to other people.
Giants: Citizen Kabuto has alot of cutscenes since it has alot of story to it.
Scrapland too.
Psychonauts
C'mon Nvidia, give us autoconvergence. iZ3D does, you can too.

Games like Mass Effect or DMC4, sometimes, during cutscenes things are going a bit crazy.
RTS or TBS like Elven Legacy (have to disable the camera effects for the spells) or strategy games like the Anno series. Because constantly zooming in and out can be eye straining.
So it would be nice to have an auto-convergence thingy ! And I'm sure that auto-convergence could be a great improvement over a lot of games !
Or if it's not an auto-convergence tool, at least something that can interpolate between several config (like having a config for the aerial view, and a config for the close-up view, and the driver calculate between the two when needed) ... uh...I don't even know if it's possible or useful to do that kind of stuff :)
