SR3 has been sitting in my pile of shame since I picked it up during a Steam sale. I will ignore that game and pick up SR4 as soon as it's on sale (as well) to play it in 3D!
Also glad that Helix and Eqzitara are hosting these fixes.

As bo3b said Saints Row 4 is great fun, so definitely give it a whirl if you have it, or pick it up if you see it in a sale.
I will point out something here, that I mention on the blog, and that is that the fix only seems to work (for me at least) when using SLI. If this turns out to be the same for everyone then that is a big issue we've not seen before.

Tested here on my laptop, 780m no sli and I still see broken shadows and some haloing around characters...
Thanks for the fixes! Hoping you can sort out this non-sli problem, I've also been sitting on this game for a long while, and compatibility mode doesn't cut it for me on this one.

Thanks for checking it out. I'll put some effort into trying to track this down.

Might be worth trying some alternate profiles to see if they make a difference. Prototype worked on SR3 sort of. There isn't anything special about using SR2 profile for this fix, just that the SR4 profile doesn't work at all.

Good idea - I tried Protoype2 and with disabling a few lights to avoid things like lights shining through walls etc, it does not look too awful. Some lights are still off (like traffic lights), but reflections and shadows seem to work. I'll aim to have a non-SLI version by end of the week, but clearly it won't be as nice looking as the SLI fix (though actually not much worse than turning down some of the graphics settings).

@mike/bob
Yesterday i try the SR4 Beta Fix.
1) The game don't crash for me (Using 3DTV Play / NO-SLI / Last whql driver / game updated)
2) Using framepacking mode (720/60) the 3D don't kick in (i see left and right views overlaped, but not in 3D)...happens the same without the fix. So i proceed to override to 720p/59hz using 3Dmigoto, normally this works to enable 3D. This is not related to the fix or 3Dmigoto BTW. I don't know why this game is now not working in framepacking mode.....maybe some patch broke it (i try this game months ago and works fine in 3D FP...yesterday the game install some patch, so i suppose was that)
3) I proceed to test with Nvidia CB Mode (1080p/60), i have to change Post Proccesing to LOW, otherwise the game don't start in 3D....very very strange. Now the game start in 3D, but shadows and Halos are still broken (using SR2, Prototype, Prototype2 and Aion profiles)
I suppose if the fix is not working is because the no-sli issue you mention...at least the game is not crashing.
Thanks!!!

Hi - thanks for trying this out. Everything you describe is consistent with non-SLI yes. My Non-SLI version will be ready by the end of the week, but as I noted earlier I had to turn off a fair few lights because they either shined through objects or would simply not render correctly no matter what I did...
I have not experienced the issue with Post Processing, but I will say that having it on Low makes a nice difference from Off (it adds HDR for a start), but High does not do much more that you can really notice, and performance is better.

I think the default build I made has depth=0 for HUD elements, but it's possible to make it deeper.
Edit the d3dx.ini file, and find the [Constants] section and uncomment those lines by removing the semicolons.
[Constants]
x=0.8 // Mini-map, health, gun-sight
y=1.0
z=1.0
w=0.8
This will cause some other unusual, but minor, problems like tattoos and eyes not being quite right.
Thank you so much mike_ar69 & bo3b for the hard work on the Saints Row fixes. I'll make sure to pick them up soon. Also big big thanks for the AC3 & AC4 fixes. I just started playing AC3 (just 1 hour in), but the 3D looks fantastic thus far.
