Official NVIDIA 3D Vision 260.63/CD 1.36 kit Feedback Thread Including 3D Vision and 3D Vision Surro

Ok, I'm getting a lot more ghosting with these drivers, like BFBC2 is nearly unplayable on the lighter maps. The ghosting at either side of dark objects is very prominent to the point I think the glasses are well out of sync with my monitor, could you not provide some way of the user tweaking the sync latencies a touch as no amount of re-booting or dropping my monitors refresh rate seems to sort it?

You would need a simple light background with a dark 3d object as a test screen and some sort of slider adjustment so we can tweak the latencies a bit to lower the ghosting, it can't be that hard to implement surely?

As a 3d vision user do I have to use these CD kits to update my graphics drivers or can I use any of the normal Geforce updates from your site? I find this bit confusing, so any response would be great

Hi,
3dtv play doesn't work well on samsung plasma 63c7000. The setup process goes ok, also the steroscopic test on Nvidia Control Panel works fine. But thats all. Trying a few games, but always get 2d image. Glasses and TV seems to be working fine, but drivers doesnt generate two separate images. It's the same for both supported resolutions: 720p/50Hz and 1080i/25Hz.

Also got some problems with desktop 32bit color resolutions - they are not listed at all in Nvidia Control Panel. Tryied to add them manualy and find one issue - after changing the resolution for one of the standard, user define res. disappeared from the list.

Hey,

its not 3D Play, its just a driverpack with some options to watch 3D blue-ray.
Hey Manuel...

I actually just posted in the other thread. Guess i shoulda put it in here, since it was feedback.

Is the 3dplay supposed to be workin in these beta drivers? It's not mentioned in the notes above as a feature. But it seems some cats have got it workin?

Those last drivers (we weren't supposed to have!) gave me the 3dplay logo in the control panel, but didn't provide any 3d from my plasma even tho the panel switched into 3d mode. A few peeps had the same issue.

These drivers, the 3dplay logo doesn't even come up in the control panel for me, and the key commands are greyed out. It's as if the control panel doesn't see i have a 3dvision emitter connected, as it asks me to 'upgrade to 3dplay now!'

Any ideas?

It is 3dtv play, i set them up earlier today, lovely image, but i have to admit i am getting ghosting at 100% depth on my panasonic

Strangely enough, they do not mention 3dtv play at all in the release, they must have thought it was not that important announcement, well it was to me :)

How are you installing the drivers? Nvidia changed the way the drivers are updated and vastly improved compatibility between different driver updates. In the past, there was the CD Driver that was the only way to get the USB stereo driver to install, but each GeForce driver release would have an updated Stereo 3D driver with profiles along with the updated GeForce Graphics drivers. But updating the driver would break compatibility with the USB driver, so you would have to go back and reinstall the USB driver off the CD.

You don't have to do this anymore, I was able to install just the GeForce driver (with graphics and Stereo 3D driver) and did not have to reinstall the USB driver or run the wizard. 3D Vision worked fine with the updated drivers.

If you're having problems with the USB emitter, try installing these after you install the GeForce driver: http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce-3d-vi...eta-driver.html

That's just the USB driver, its only 2MB and much nicer now as you only need to download the 100+MB GeForce Driver + 2MB USB driver instead of the 250-300MB CD Driver with everything including all the bloat with pictures and such. I was able to install the USB driver and run the medical wizard with no issues with the 260.63 drivers.

Early feedback:

1) The new installer is nice, allows the option to upgrade individual components. Would still like Windows 7 to not auto-install new audio drivers. I have this disabled and Windows still installs it. Would be nice if Nvidia implemented a firmware/BIOS option to disable the audio completely.

2) The new NVCP is MUCH faster, in both pulling it up the first time and also when opening up the game profiles tabs. I know the switch away from XML in the 256 was to facilitate this, but even compared to 256 the 260 are much faster. Now if we can see about having installed games detected more accurately, and also a longer list of games shown in the drop down menu selections.

3) Still have to run some tests on games, but overall performance seems to be a bit better, some games run smoother in 3D with some exceptions where there's no change.

4) Splinter Cell Conviction still has memory leak/degrading FPS in 3D Vision in SLI. FPS will start at 60FPS, then quickly degrade over the course of only 1 or 2 minutes. ManuelG said this was problem was reproduced, but still no 3D Vison profile and no bug fix even though there is an NVCP profile for a few months now.

5) Avatar still performs about the same as a single 480 in SLI in DX10 only. GPU utilization only ~50% on each GPU.

6) Final Fantasy XIV Open Beta does not run in 3D Vision at all. Not sure if this is an application issue or not, but it is possible to get the Benchmark running in 3D with a modified fullscreen DX9 runtime.
Specs and such in my sig, will provide more feedback as generated. Overall the improvements are nice but would still like to see some specific fixes in some of these lingering problems in 3D Vision.
