Increasing available depth? Registry tweak no longer available for Acer H5360 in 1.38

Wow! I just tried the depth hack for the first time and it worked perfectly. I'm using 260.99 (both the 3D Vision driver and the graphics driver) and have only tried the depth hack with GT Legends. It really does make a huge difference, as before I used to run it at 100% and wanted more depth. Now I have it at 20% and the depth is pretty much perfect.

I have a 60" Mitsubishi WD-60737 and sit about 6.5' away from the screen.

@redman223: So that means the depth hack still works since 260.99 is the current driver (CD 1.38 includes the 260.99 drivers). Right!?

I'm using 1.38 and no longer have the "monitorsize" registry key at all. Did you uninstall your old drivers before installing 1.38?

yes, I did. I always remove the old drivers before I install the new ones. But I didn't do the driver sweeper thing. Just removed the old Nvidia display drivers and installed the new CD 1.38. I guess that means the hack is still working........

I find the depth setting is more of a fine adjustment to make an individual game look right. After fiddling around with it a bit, I was playing on maximum depth for a while, however the middle-point of depth actually appears to make the game look a little less 'stretched', so it seems like it's a setting for each game based around the mid-point of the setting wheel and also the FOV of the game to make the game look its 'best'. Also when you're new it might be a little easier to minimize the depth setting, since it's definitely a new skill to watch a screen and instead of always focusing on the center of the screen while sitting still and moving your hands around, you have to do almost the same thing except focus on different spots other than the center, also while sitting still. It's a neat trick and takes some practice, but it really is another huge step towards the holodeck. :)
