Can't select 1080p24 PDVD12
I just downloaded the trial for Power Dvd 12 and can only select the 1080 checkerboard mode when trying to watch 3D content. I have a UN55C8000. When I try to select the 1080p24 mode, it says that the device is not supported and I am stuck with checkerboard. While checkerboard DOES work, 1080p24 is supposed to be even better, and I'd really like to use that.

I think my issues might be on the hardware/display side. When I go to NCP and "change resolution", I only have the choice to select 1080p (native) at 60hz or 59hz. I do have the rollermod installed. I do not see anything for 24hz, 120hz, etc. Is that due to my TV being in PC mode? My GTX580 and Denon 1911 both support the 1.4 HDMI standard and can output 1080p24. Do I need to put my TV in another mode or something?

Update.. I tried applying the 24hz option using control panel > display > resolution > advanced settings > monitor. When I changed it from 60 to 24 the screen appeared to lose signal then a message popped up saying that resolution was not support.

Any help with this guys?

SecretSexyNinja,

If you're using Rollermod you won't get the 3DTV Play features such as 1080p24hz frame packing.
When using Rollermod, you should only play 3D games, cause you have the advantage of playing 3D games in CB mode 1080p60hz which is far better than 3DTV Play and lame 1080p24hz or 720p60hz.
Now, if you want to watch 3D movies and specially bluray3D, you should only use your's TV original inf file, not Rollermod, so your TV will be recognized by the Nvidia drivers as a HDMI 1.4 TV and frame packing 3D mode will be supported, as well as 1080p24hz and 720p60hz. This is the best way for watching 3D movies, not Rollermod. Using Rollermod, Nvidia drivers are fooled to think your TV is a HDMI 1.3 TV, so you only have DLP mode (checkerboard) available which only supports 1080p60hz (not full resolution per eye though).

If you were using older drivers, you could watch movies in Generic CRT mode, and watch movies in 1080p30hz full resolution per eye, and using PowerDVD you would have to choose the 3D Vision Ready display settings and it works. Now this mode is no longer available cause Nvidia has ditched this mode in the newer driveres. Anyway Rollermod only works in PC mode, so you better off with Frame packing mode instead cause you get more colour settings and features and will get better image quality for watching movies as Frame packing is only available in video mode, which is better for viewing movies than PC mode.

Rollermod is the way to go for 3D gaming using a 3DTV, since 3DTV Play/HDMI 1.4 specs have serious flaws like 1080p24 limitation which is not optimal for gaming. But for movies, you can bet frame packing 1080p24hz is way better than Checkerboard.
Checkerboard doesn't accept 1080p24hz, only 60hz, but this mode lacks resolution, it's not full resolution per eye. So, make sure to override rollermod.inf using your TV's original inf file, so you can have Frame Packing mode which is full resolution per eye back and working.

When you decide to play games in 1080p60hz checkerboard mode, use Rollermod again. I always switch between Rollermod and my C7000 original inf file, so I can also watch bluray3D in frame packing mode 1080p24hz.

Perfect. This was exactly what i was wondering / looking to find out. Thank you! I'll test it out and see what becomes of it!

btw, where would I find the original INF for the un55c8000? haha, I thought I'd saved the original but cant find it!

Since you haven't saved your TV's original EDID, when you go to device manager - monitoros, look for Generic PNP monitor option and select it, and it should restore the original EDID of your hardware as well as all HDMI 1.4 features such as frame packing 1080p24hz and 720p60hz modes. If you can't find this option, try to restore your Windows version to a point before you've installed Rollermod, this should work for sure.

Prior to install Rollermod, it's important to backup your's TV/Receiver original EDID. Download a free software called Monitor Asset Manager. After you've installed this software, select create inf to backup your TV's original EDID. Make sure you have already restored your TV original EDID (HDMI 1.4 specs), otherwise you'll create another copy of Rollermod.
