Need some help with 3D Vision (new inexperienced user)
Hi there,
I recently picked up a pair of 3D V2 glasses and an IR transmitter off eBay thinking I can set it up for my monitor but so far I can't seem to get it to work.
The monitor in question is a Predator Z35P powered by GTX1080 Ti / i7-7740X
I grabbed the helixmod 3D Fix manager and ran the 3d setup wizard, it didn't work but I still brute forced through the wizard anyway, then I downloaded some fixes via the manager UI and tried to test some games.
From what I can tell trying to run various games it detected fixes for, there is barely any difference between what I'm seeing through the glasses turned on and what is on screen, increasing the depth only made the image worse.
Is my 120Hz VA ultrawide just not cut out for 3D vision or have I missed something?

Do you see the green logo, in the setup tab? If so, you should be good to go.

Are you able to complete the wizard and see Nvidia's test in 3D? You also might try running your desktop at 120Hz. If you do see the green logo and the wizard isn't working correctly, try reinstalling the drivers using DDU and choose the clean install option that Nvidia gives under the Custom install option.
What games are you trying? Windows 10 can be problematic at times, but generally works, if you are using it.

this thread... some guy made it work or, actually, he did NOT make it work on page 5

So a quick update; for some reason the 3D effect works only when the glasses are worn upside down, pretty odd but hey at least it's doing something now.
I was trying to get it working on Vermintide 2 but the 3rd party implementation there is pretty horrible, any depth setting results in bad blur. Got much better results in Witcher 3 however the text has ghosting making it hard to read.
I shall keep testing but so far it's not as impressive as I was hoping, anyway false alarm folks.

Unfortunately, the eye swapper in 3D Fix manager is for Passive displays and will not work in your case. But I'm fairly certain that there is a way to do it using 3Dmigoto, you'll have to search the forums, if having them upside down is indeed an issue for you. I personally like them better upside down, in some cases. (at least the V1 glasses)
The bad blur is likely due to CM (compatibilty Mode) when adding depth

The Witcher 3 has beautiful 3D, your problem, is likely CM again, since CM handles text badly.
Provided that your monitor does indeed work properly and you correctly install a fix, then dial in the depth and convergence appropriately. You will not be saying impressive, immersive will your new word.

It looks like you'll have a hard time making it work with that monitor - good luck, I was about to point you to the same thread as mistersvin21 - read that closely.

VA monitors have subpar pixel response times in dark colors. 3D being reversed means it isn't using Lightboost. If it can use ULMB, it's absolutely better than not using it, but even in TN monitors there is a big crosstalk difference compared to Lightboost.
I think Lightboost has less aggressive overdrive, and that's why it looks better.

A quick search, showed it had G-Sync and was capable of 120Hz. So it might be possible.
