3D Vision 2 IR Emitter not recognized and failure to start
2 / 3
When I unplug my emitter, it looks like this

So that's probably what you are seeing.
For the green logo to be showing, both the emitter and monitor need to be recognized. Otherwise, it defaults to 3D Vision Discover (anaglyph mode)

I believe you're correct, however i can't even see those options. if i enable it instantly brings up the wizard, and closing the wizard disables the setting.

This just started happening to me, too. I've been using my emitter for four years with no problems, but suddenly Windows won't detect it. Exact same problem as the OP. I assume it died, since all my devices work on all my PC's USB ports, except for the emitter now.

Well i've managed to get it to recognized the device, but when it does that light is off and the wizard tells me the driver isn't installed yet manager shows a recognized driver with no warning. When there is it warning it says device won't start.
A couple of times it was solid red/solid white. I did manage to get to that screen where it recognized the approved monitor, but that was when it said the driver wasn't installed.

sorry to hear that. i might be a bad luck. after a long debate over to whether or not to bother with 3D all this hassle happens.

3D is well worth any hassle.
It's looking more and more like the used emitter you were sold is bad.
Have you tried another cable?
You could also try another driver install using DDU once again.

Yeah i found a spare mini-usb cord lying around so i'll try it. I may give the driver reinstall one last shot, but if it's not working by the end of today i will be returning it and trying a different kit.

WTF I JUST PLUGGED IT IN AND IT'S GREEN! (still on original cord)
I realized i still had my lightboost enabling app still on, so idk if that was causing an issue. Will be attempting the setup now. HYPED
Well, it was definitely working. Was going through setup and got to the part with synicing the glasses and computer crashed. At first the emitter started flickering it's signal, but i replugged it and it started working again, but then the crash happened. Will try setup again, but it seems to be working now.

Well, again it crashed at the screen where it asks about changing the refresh rate for ambient lighting, but once it restarted the computer it was back to not starting.

Try using this: http://helixmod.blogspot.com.es/2015/10/advanced-3d-vision-configuration.html
With that, you can skip the setup process by checking a checkbox.
All though the driver reconizises both my emitter and Asus VG248 screen, I have never been able to go through the setup succesfully.
So instead after a new driver install, I have to do the following:
Enter registry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D and go to the 3D Vision confirmed and change 0 --> 1

Well, i can't get the emitter to connect again now.
Well, i switched it to one of the 2.0 usb ports i hadn't tried before, and was able to finish setup and start up a coupel games using the 3d. However, the emitter seems to lose signal every so often, and is the light on the glasses supposed to stay on the whole time they're being used? they kept going off within about a minute it seemed.
