3d Vision and Monitor Motion Blur Have any 3d vision users noticed...
If you have a pc powerful enough to run a game at solid 60fps in 3d, have any of you 3d vision guys noticed when in 3d mode you get ZERO monitor motion blur? I noticed when I first started playin 3d games, but never talked about it.
I've discovered that even games that are terrible in 3d, bad shadows and stuff, that if you slide the depth slider in the CP to 1 percent, then play a game in 3d, its still like 2d mode excepth theres absolutely NO motion blur! /shock.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':shock:' />
Sure, we trade off with crosstalk, but of course crosstalk doesnt even come in to play at 1 percent depth.

I don't know what you mean. For me, running in 2d mode at 120hz is the way to remove motion blur. How else you gonna pull off a set of triple 720-degree spinning midair headshots in Counter Strike? Not at 60hz, that's for sure.

BACK in the day I used to do that kind of stuff in quake 2. jump off the high cliff on The Edge 180degree turn and railgun the poor soul at the bottom midair. I used a 20"crt monitor at 120hz or more if I lowered the resolution. /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thumbup:' /> I was sad when that monitor died. zero motion blur with crt's.
If you don't know what I mean by 3d vision removing motion blur try this.
1. Start up a game in 2d that runs at 120fps. While in game SLOWLY pan your camera around and notice that even the best 120hz monitors still have percieved motion blur, however slight.
2. Enable 3d vision. Slide the depth slider in the CP all the way to 1%. This will make the game look (mostly) 2d, but still with each frame alternating with your glasses.
3. Start up SAME game in 3d with yer glasses on. Don't touch your depth wheel or it will snap to 15%. Pan the camera SLOWLY and notice that your eyes will in fact percieve zero motion blur, JUST like using an old CRT monitor.
Maybe I'm just more perceptive to stuff like that. I don't know. But I explained and showed a buddy of mine, and he concurs. Anyway... try that.

I suppose that might be true, it's just that the added mouselag introduced by forced v-sync (required by 3d vision to work) would negate the improved clarity by having no motion blur.

Yes i have noticed this.
I had a 2d monitor Nec 24wmgx3 that had a mode that did a similar effect. When turned on it added a single black frame between frames, it noticeably reduced ghosting but also halfed the contrast. A similar effect is happening in 3d with the glasses inserting the black frame to either eye.
