OMG. Bioshock 2 patched !
  1 / 2
Yep, its hard to believe but a new patch is out. There are many changes including fixing the remaining 3d vision issues. :)

Woohoo! However, I still don't forgive you 2K

EDIT: I have just tried the game with the supposed 3d fix. And to me, there is no difference... There is also no option for 3d in the menu, like there was before... Hmm. I wonder. Someone confirm pls... I have a bad feeling about this.

I'm not feeling too good about this one. What a sack of crap this whole situation has been.

It's because of the whole Bioshock 2 mess that I am now taking any future announcements of 3D Vision support for games with a grain of salt. Please don't screw up Mafia 2...

works ok here...
Crossair works ok,lighting is good...,but this already worked ok here.

They also made some changes for people like me who are a little color blind. (hack system)

What kinfd of problems do you all have,I had only minor shadow problems with patch 1&2,haven't seen any wrong shadows so far. (look at screens please, they are from this patch(3)

Shadows are still rendered incorectly. Convergance has to be set fairly far out of the screen to get rid of ghosting at 100% depth. And there is this weird phenomonom that happens sometimes when I go from one room to another where all the smokeish toned stuff contracts then expands back once I get into the room. I dont know if that was the best way to describe it, but if you play you'll eventualy see it.

Here is a screenshot from my computer of the earlier stages of BioShock 2. This is off the latest patch.

The fog is STILL rendered incorrectly. There is NO difference.

@Ferry, the screens you have taken are from environments without fog effects, and the shadow on characters is STILL rendered wrong.

I have not tried playing it long enough to see any minor glitching or artifacts because I rage quit as soon as I saw the tri-fog.... Nvidia, please step in and do something.

This is 100% a Nvidia vault not the developers, except for letting Nvidia dirty their name by claiming to 'specially' support 3D Vision in this game and not actually delivering. I say this because Bioshock2 plays great with Tridef driver (the last 3 in fact) and has for months, my experience and read the MTBS review.

Well, I just sent 2K a polite ear-full. Not sure what good it will do..... At very most we might get an explanation in person from the devs. At very least, they will ask me what drivers I have been using and blah blah blah... /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />

Tell us how you really feel. /shifty.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':shifty:' /> I still haven't finished the first Bioshock, but I certainly won't be picking this up until it's $5 on Steam.

Of course it won't do any good. If they really gave a crap then the game would've been "3D Vision Ready" like it was supposed to be. I blame both 2K and NVidia because if they were gonna slap that certification on it then they should have ensured that it actually was with the latest available drivers at the time of release.
