Took the plunge into 3d few questions, please help :)
Hi Guys,
I bought myself a system which is good enough for 3d,
i7 2600
580 gtx
LG W2363D 23" TRUE 120Hz 3D Widescreen monitor
it will all arrive in a week and im just confused about a few things..
a)do i have to install 2 drivers? 1 driver for the graphics card and 1 for the 3d vision?
b)when upgrading a driver, is removing the older one first from the control panel sufficient? or do i have to use some sort of driversweeper?
c)the conditions I play 3d games in, am i able to play in a normal lit daytime room? or are optimium conditions the darker it is, the better?
Thank you so much for any answers on these questions :)
a) No. The newest drivers have everything you need.
b) For your first install, I'd say driversweeper would be a good thing. After that Nvidia has a new updater so that you don't need to "sweep" your drivers.
c) Well darker is always better, even in 2d. But, 3d monitors are really bright, and I've never had a problem playing midday, and my house has lots of windows. Plus,
most games have a brightness adjustment anyway. /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy 3d. tip: After you have everything installed and working, go into your nvidia control panel, and under "set up stereoscopic 3d" make sure you set up your keyboard shortcuts. Enable advanced in-game settings and set your convergence control. Convergence is most important when adjusting your 3d view to your liking. Especially if you want "pop-out".

I think the 'brightly lit room' issue comes from the Asus monitors, which are pretty glossy. It doesn't have anything to do with 3D.

No, you will also see reflections in the glasses or extra light which affects the 3D when a room has light.
Eh? I guess if you get the light shining down on your face, you could see the reflection of your face in the glasses. Are those the reflections you're talking about almostinsane?

i've got the asus, works fine if the sun isn't pointed at the screen, i play with lights on fine works great....could use more video card power and/or games support....I've got 1 460 and an extra slot, but I might need a bigger PS or a hole in the side for an extra cord...plus price is down to like $130 too but why must I get matching 460????

To make the programming easier, of course. It's clearly been hard for them to get even that working. Watch the tech gaming tech forums and you'll see SLI and Crossfire cause issues pretty often. They both seem to be getting better but if you start mixing things up so one card is better than the other....
