Hehe, that reminds me of an old British sitcom where they had one of those quiz contests. The team if little girls won easily but they protested the judging anyway. Why? "Because we want to win by more!"
My first suggestion is to quit dinking around with your settings and go have fun already! There are a lot of fun little quests in that game (like driving cars down ski slopes) that are a lot more fun than pegging the framerate.
But, if you're wanting to humble some poor, repressed XBox owner by showing that you can get better framerates in 3D than he can in Flatland...
First off, have you pegged it? Assuming you have vertical sync on, you can only get 60fps at most.

You're right, the game is great and still is. I agree that we get a bit obsessed with frame rates, and some people get particularly obsessed with GPU usage. Reading through forums it looks like a lot of people are busy wasting time moaning when they could just be busy having fun.
I might run the benchmarks again to get absolute numbers, but it's clear to my eyes that adding the second card didn't help at all and the 50% usage per card backs that up. It definitely doesn't run at 60fps all the time and never did.
Slight admission in that the last time I actually played it was with the 266.58 WHQL set, but I'm running the latest 270 beta drivers now.
I was just asking the question because it's been bugging me for a while and as far as I can see, everyone with SLI+3D Vision is seeing no benefit at all from SLI in this title.

All the info you need is in my sig Andrew. I've tried 266.58 and 270.new driver and both are terrible for jc2. Rez is 5760x1080 2d or 3d. Game will crash instantly on launch with module nvwgf2um.dll. Only thing I haven't tried is removing all drivers manually and doing a fresh install. I may try a fresh install of the OS on one of my spare drives this weekend and see what I get for some of these problems I am seeing since 258.96. It will give me something to do anyway.

i got 40 average fps with 8x csaa and x16 AF and all the other stuff maxed in concrete bench with one gtx 480
and i got 53 average fps with sli enabled.
All the stuff I've read says that jc2 stopped working for many people after 260.89. Even a fresh OS reinstall did not fix it. Now on the new OS the game won't even start at all period even in failsafe. I might for giggles try 260.89 tomorrow and see if it works just to check.

I would really like to know if this gets fixed. I was thinking of picking up another GTX580 for an SLI setup when I can find one on sale, and my main goal of SLI is so I can have a fluid framerate when running 3Dvision in my games and applications.

Actually I just tried this again and SLI seems to be working.
I'm guessing it's the latest beta drivers that have resolved the problem, because I think when I had the lack of scaling I was actually using the last set of WHQL drivers.
I feel slightly red faced now! :-)
Anyway, thanks Nvidia as it appears the issue is resolved :-)

I'm going to try redownloading the game tonight while I sleep and see what happens. The fresh OS install with the same steam folder ported back over did not fix it.
Well I downloaded all files again except for the really big ones and I am at least back to getting the nvwgf2um.dll fault error now. Andrew any ideas on what that file is?
Hmm, well on a whim I started the game with the full screen option disabled and in windowed mode and the game so far has started every time in windowed mode and then allows me to switch to full screen mode once the game is started. What fps are you guys getting? In 2d surround I am getting maybe 30-40 fps in 5760x1080 with most things turned up at their highest levels with a few mediums in there at 2x AA and 8xAF. In 3DVS I am getting low 20's....I swear I used to get much better fps than this in 258.96, like well over 60 in 2d surround with everything maxed. What fps are you surround guys getting? Same with TDU, very low fps compared to what I used to get. Like 50% as much. I wish I could revert back to 258.96 but sandy bridge won't work on those older drivers and the option to configure SLI/surround is missing in the CP with those...

I get 50% utilisation on each card in this title, whereas pretty much everything else I've tried scales pretty well.
Please Nvidia?

I can't get playable fps in this game in 2d or 3d surround. That and it crashes on startup every time and in failsafe mode 50% of the time. Only started behaving this way after 258.96 was removed for newer drivers.

I might run the benchmarks again to get absolute numbers, but it's clear to my eyes that adding the second card didn't help at all and the 50% usage per card backs that up. It definitely doesn't run at 60fps all the time and never did.
