Indeed, when is the eta, why did Andrew know nothing about it. WHY IS A 3D VISION READY TITLE STILL NOT WORKING. It doesn't even work well in 2d if you have the 3d drivers installed. This is unacceptable, and they don't seem to want to admit there fault (both companies that is), but where glad to boost how will it would work prior to release.

Count me in as being disgruntled. I made the mistake of buying the game thinking that the 'Nvidia 3d Ready' logo on the retailer box was an indication that the game was ACTUALLY 3D ready. So now I sit 'patiently' waiting for some optimized drivers to make this game playable in 3D Surround without having to resort to lowering the settings. <--- I purposely built a high end machine for games like this and DO NOT appreciate the notion that despite having a premium CPU and 2 PREMIUM Nvidia GPU's, I still can't play this game the way I expect to. At the very least keep us in the loop about the upcoming drivers, when they'll be released (ballpark it I don't expect an exact date) and what to expect from them (more or less)in terms of this game. /thanks.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thanks:' /> Am I being unreasonable here....?

You know this is just sad. Now its clear they either don't read the forums much or they do and just don't want to answer. How hard is it to say .. the game worked fine before launch but something got changed by the devs and messed everything up and then was to late to change "3D Ready" on the box. We would at least feel better but they say nothing. Just remember this next time you read 3D READY before you buy.

Do you know what 3D Ready actually means? As near as I can tell, it means that the game can detect that 3D Vision is there and that it does something with that information. It doesn't mean that it handles 3D Vision well, it just means that it does try to handle it. There's no solid definition that I could find anywhere, though.

You might be right Zloth (I'm Jabberwocky on RPGWatch btw), but Nvidia really should create an official definition for the "3d Ready" logo. It seems pretty much everyone, including myself, were/are under the impression it means "This game runs and look great in 3D. It was designed with 3D vision in mind and intended to be played that way."
... And really that's what it SHOULD mean.
I haven't had 3D vision all that long, but what I am discovering is that the "3D Ready" logo and Nvidia's own quality rating system mean jack squat.

I wouldn't mind Nvidia being a bit more transparent with their plans and especially their issues.
For example, I like Blizzard's recent approach with their regular blog posts on Wow about class changes, potential updates and intentions. This goes a long way in getting ideas flowing and keeping their audience engaged and contributing. Not all of their ideas prove to be successful or even come to fruition, but by approaching their audience openly, I suspect it helps keep speculation and rumors to a minimum, not to mention rage!
You should consider something similar, Nvidia. You have a group of dedicated 3d fans here that can prove to be valuable assets and instead, by keeping us in the dark, you're effectively not helping your cause and encouraging new buyer's remorse. Integrity should be a priority, I say.

It didn't just say 3d ready did it? I thought it also said 3d vision ready? In any case a game that says it is 3d ready is not 3d ready if there is a bug that stops even the most powerful systems running it at a playable frame rate as frequently as The Witcher 2 does. In it's current form The Witcher 2 is anything but 3d ready.

OK, say we're playing catch. I ask if you're ready. You say yes. I throw the ball. You almost catch it. Did you lie to me? No! You were ready, you just didn't catch the ball.
Most games out there are not 3D Vision Ready. Those games have no clue that they are going to get rendered in 3D. NVIDIA is just going to throw the ball at their hands and hope it works out (which it often does). A game that is 3D Vision Ready IS aware that it's going to get rendered in 3D, though, and is going to make an attempt to catch the ball. Witcher 2 almost caught it.
It's not like there's only one toss, though. CDPR can keep releasing patches to try and fix the problem. They did a good job of that with the original Witcher. We'll see if they do as well the second time.

Sorry, but that excuse does not work. 3d vision ready is the highest rating Nvidia can give a 3d supported game. On top of that, Andrew claimed how good it was in advance of it's release. Nvidia should have simply downgraded the rating considering the broken implementation, but they chose to knowingly mislead the consumer instead, and there was no way they did not know.

That’s Nvidia’s brand name to say this game will work pretty good. Other games work pretty well with 3d but no mention on the box and not on the web site because 3D ready logo on the box is a stamp of approval from nvidia. I don’t understand this weird defence of an obvious broken system between developer and Nvidia and broken drivers at the moment.
Let’s leave the Witcher out. Previously it I didn’t want 3d I would just hit the emitter button,,,, this removes 3d from the screen but the FPS still run the same at if 3D was running. Really you take that as ok, while in the past the button worked. You push the button and boom 3d away and FPS increase.
People can't even quickly flick vision off for the inside issues, they have to exit the game,, breaking the experience and the mood.
This is not simply a developer fault.
Also good customer service is to keep people informed with an ETA, then why we missed the ETA and a new one. Let the community know what’s happening. That is the customer service that wins.
People say that the developer must have added something before release to affect the game so badly, will I think if they added it so close then it’s easy to remove edit or fix. Either that or Nvidva never bothered to check the game throughout development but stuck the logo on it anyways
Directx9 games have bad FPS on 500 series of cards which ain’t been fixed yet.

Do you know what 3D Ready actually means? As near as I can tell, it means that the game can detect that 3D Vision is there and that it does something with that information. It doesn't mean that it handles 3D Vision well, it just means that it does try to handle it. There's no solid definition that I could find anywhere, though.
