LG D2342P does anyone have this monitor? Does it work with 3dtv play?
Hey guys.. I was thinking of picking up one of these monitors .. and I know all about the resolution trade off with passive displays.. but I think the comfort of the lighter glasses would be worth the trade off.
My question is .. Does the passive work with the 3dtv play software? Does anyone here own this monitor? If so .. How do you like it?

I saw that review thanks .. I have read other reviews as well that say the 3d effect is great .. I want to hear from someone that actually owns this monitor.
I don't have any faith in c/net reviews honestly.

Well I went out and bought this monitor .. and honestly I was just about to return the thing until I slid my chair back a foot .. and low and behold the 3d looked pretty damn good.

This coming from someone that owns 3D Vision kit with a 120hz Samsung 2233rz monitor.

When I first powered on the LG D2342P monitor, I was happy to see a good clean 2d image .. I had read some reviews of this monitor claiming that the 2d mode made text look distorted.. that is very untrue.
2d picture quality is very sharp indeed. Colour output is also a very good quality and picture is very bright.

I then installed the tridef software which comes with the monitor.. and that is when I was worried that I might have made a mistake by buying this monitor... The install itself was not hard .. but when I got to the 3d set up screen, no matter how much I adjusted the monitor .. the 3d image just looked broken up and like crap.. I started to think that I should have listened to some of the negative reviews I read .. then I pushed my seat back about a foot .. and wow what a difference! .. 3d looked great! .. and bright! .. something I am not used to seeing with 3d since I have only seen it before with the active shutter glasses.

I am now.. I have to say fast becoming a fan of passive 3d.. I know I know .. passive displays half the resolution .. but honestly I really don't notice any resolution loss really .. and the brightness and comfort of the glasses is great. I love not having to charge them, not see any flickering and don't have the weight the 3d vision glasses have.. also I am quite impressed so far with the tridef driver.. I am not getting rid of my 3d vision or anything like that .. I am sure I will still use it.. but passive to me seems the best 3d choice .. I'm sure many of you will probably disagree with me.. but that's my opinion.

So I am very pleased with this monitor and would suggest to anyone to try it out.. but I do warn.. If you are going to buy this monitor you do have to make sure that the vertical angle is lined up with you line of sight .. otherwise the 3d effect does not work... Horizontally you can move around all you want and the 3d effect works perfect .. but stray to far vertically .. 3d is gone.. That being said.. when I am gaming I do not move my head up and down .. so I don't see it as a big deal... Also.. don't be stupid like I was .. don't sit to close..

It's a really nice monitor.. Does not deserve some of the bad press it's getting.
