The Amazing Spider-man 2 - what are chances of good 3Dvision support/patch?
1 / 3
I really liked The Amazing Spider-man game. TASM2 is out in a couple of weeks, and I was wondering if anyone had any idea what the likelihood of it playing nice with 3DVision is, either out of the box or with an eventual community fix.
I just looked into TASM1, and it seems it is completely busted and unfixable for 3DVision, which makes me a little nervous for the sequel.
Anyone have any predictions/inside knowledge as to what the prospects are?

It's DX9, so in theory a fix might be possible. It'll probably depend on how broken it is, and how good the game itself is. If it turns out to be a crappy tie-in, I doubt anyone will fix it. If it's well-received and possible to fix, it's more likely.
There's really no telling until it comes out and we see how it looks. I wouldn't preorder it unless you want to risk having to play in 2d.

Hmmm, well I'll remain cautiously optimistic. The main complaints about the previous game were 'unrealistic' web-swinging, and shoddy porting/optimisation causing crashes. It seems the devs are taking the task of improving on the original pretty seriously, so maybe we'll get something special.
Again, I just worry it will use the same engine or whatever as TASM1, which by all accounts was completely busted and unfixable for 3DVision, regardless of the motivation of the community: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/523325/?comment=3708956
...I just really want to swing through Manhattan in glorious 3D :)

Yep, me too. I posted a thread about this a week ago. Seems like a great game for 3D. I'm hoping for a community fix, but at the least, maybe a CM profile.
Again, I haven't seen any way to request CM profiles from NVidia. Does anyone know how they prioritize fixes?
I'm not gonna request this one until we know it's completely buggered and the community can't fix it, but when the time comes... I'm of the mindset that fake 3D is better than no 3D.

Trust me, I know how silly my question sounded ;)
But it was my understanding that the 'CM' feature was still game-specific right? I mean, it can't just be added to whatever the heck we want.... right?

Nah, I wasn't poking fun at you ... that's them hard at work 'prioritizing' ... I too thought that they're doing specific things by creating profiles, but I haven't bothered looking at them ... who knows it could just be one flag for fake3D and the rest are game specific/SLI flags that are just attached to the usual profile ... you know 'filler' to make it look like they're actually doing something. Lol. :)
Some people have had luck adding games to 'CrappyMode' profiles, the few I tried didn't work but I got sick of other issues and wound up rolling back drivers anyway.

They say they're creating specific profiles, but several people have tried adding games to the AC3/AC4 profiles and had success. So they might be optimising for performance or something, but you should be able to get it working easily enough.

Okay, good to know. I'd like to try this for Need for Speed Shift 2 as well... Is this done through NVidia inspector? I still haven't downloaded the beta driver, but I'm kinda feeling the itch to just see if it works. Might try to use the profile for NFS Most Wanted, since NVidia lists that as one of their CM profiles.

Some games you can get away with just renaming the game's exe to match the profile's exe, not sure what that is for AC3/4 off the top of my head though.
