Its pretty limited by developers and they might not decide they will generate enough $ to justify it.

Exactly. This is kind of like the chess scene in Star Wars. It's pretty cool for table top games, but it's not even remotely doing what VR is doing. VR is attempting to place you in the world. This is putting a limited holograph in front of you. It could be awesome for table top games, but it's hard to imagine much else with it.
