I've been thinking about buying morrowind again (can't find my CDs, and if i did they're probably scratched to hell and back, an my optical drives bunk anyways) just to beat it in 3D. But after the last few games i've got to play in 3d being so horrible, I thought i'd ask and see what other ppl have to say about the game in 3D first. Does the game work well in 3D? Are there any horrible glitches that or improper rendering that keep it form being enjoyable? What, if any, settings need to be disabled? Thanks
btw, i've thought about try oblivion instead, since its a new game and probably more likely to run 3D, but i never cared for the game, esp compared to morrowind. bu ti guess i'd be interested in hearing about how it runs too.

Oblivion looks great in 3D, some creatures like rats really jump at you, there is a big impression of depth in the streets and lots of objects look great. Probably my favourite game in 3D so far, although I haven't tried many yet.

Outside Morrowind looks fine - especially if you mod it.
Unfortunately when indoors everything feels clausturphobic(?). The roof is too close to your head or something and it makes you want to squint.
It is not worth buying again if you were considering doing that.
I loved Morrowind. Prefered it in many ways to oblivion - except those pesky bird things!
Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Morrowind was so much better than oblivion in a lot of ways. All they had to do was rerelease morrowind with better combat (No missing a gazillion times in a row ;P) and better graphics and it would've been perfect.

Loved both games after I modded them out. I still play Oblivion some to this day. If you look around on the internet you can probably find a good deal for the GOTY edition that has both expansions.

Oblivion is transformed completely with a few mods.
You should never play with mighty epic "oscuro's oblivion overhaul" mod. It is easily the most popular mod out there and makes oblivion like the game it should have been.
All treasures and loot for instance is hand placed. For the entire world. It is the only way to play oblviion period

lmao cliffracers, yeah, they were annoying as all hell, i remember.
And i like Morrowind much better than vanilla oblivion too. I got like 50-70% through Oblivion within the first week it was out and ran into a couple game-breaking glitches where i was forced to go back a long ways and ended up just never beating it that time, and lost the save due to a system format i think. I reinstalled the game a couple times and got different mods to change the things i hated about the game. One of the times i tried playing through with it modded to my liking, i ran into a set of game-breaking incompatibilities in the mods. On top of that i was trying to make some of the textures not look so awful, so i had graphical mods on too and that cut my FPS, which i really couldnt afford to do back then on my x850xt or whatever i was running lol.
I do remember reading about a mod being worked on to bring Morrowind into the updated engine of oblivion.
I think i might just install Oblivion again, get Overhaul mod. Are there any good graphics update/overhaul mods i should know about. because it was a pain to manually replace all the LOD textures and stuff back in teh day.

Mate,
Oblivion looks amazing S3D. 100% depth, minimum convergence is the law for this game. You need to disable shadows and HDR and don’t forget turn off the crosshair… But WOW! does the game-world look solid and real! I rather gushingly :"> wrote in the product of 2009 sticky here about how good Oblivion looks…
As you clearly know there are loads of tweaks for Oblivion. You mentioned OOO but I found it put in too many items which were of a low quality it also really slowed my system down. Each to their own though right?
Defo get the harvesting mods containers and flora. I cant remember the name of the texture packs – I am at work and the thingy lets me browse this forum but not obvious gaming ones so will let you know later.
