SLI doesn't add up the total ram on your cards. Each GPU has access to only it's own memory, so while both cards may use their own stash of memory, it won't be the same as having twice the memory.
Yup I'm well aware of that :( have been doing SLI for way too too too long. haven't really looked at a benchmark of 690s against 770s. But after spending 2k on the 2 690s..... I can't replace them until they stop working :(
for most games, AA is not needed at such high of resolutions.
Maybe for jaggies in still screenshots, but certainly not when it comes to pixel-creep. That's always visible, no matter what resolution you're using, because the eye is so sensitive to motion.
I personally hate pixel-creep, and even MSAAx4 doesn't always get rid of it. TXAA and SSAA are the only safe bets.

I have been experimenting with seweetfx presets from here http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/1686/ and with 3d enabled a crash to desktop is guaranteed within the first 2mins every time. With 3d disabled the game runs fine.
...2 690s.....
Wait, you use that with 3Dvision? I thought that two dual-GPU cards would make the system think it was running quad-SLI, while 3dvision is only compatible with 2-way SLI.
Was I wrong about 3Dvision not working with quad-SLI, or was I wrong about each dual-GPU card behaving like a 2-way SLI setup?

Never had a problem with it working with QUAD sli in 3D vision. I never really checked to see if there is a performance hit between Dual Sli and Quad SlI in 3D vision. Whatever improvements is marginal at best. .

So you wouldn't recommend it, because of the only marginal improvement?
I've often heard that tri-SLI doesn't work with 3Dvision. I guess I just wrongly assumed that it wouldn't work with quad as well.
Can't seem to find the thread where this was discussed recently, but it was fairly definitive that 3-way scaling is working in at least some games.

In fact currently because of my Surround gaming I have it set up with tri SLI and a dedicated GPU for PhysX. But that was mainly from running the benches off of Batman Arkham Origins.
Yes I wouldn't recommend it because of the marginal improvements and the cost in this case. And if you aren't maxing out on 1 or two GPUS then adding more will not make much of a difference.

Am I the only one with this problem:
When I play Watch dogs with (fake) 3dvision activated, after few minutes I start to get glitches such as fast image offset on the left eye.
Only the bottom of the image is concerned if Vsync on,
if vsync is off the problem is less obvious but it happens everywhere.
It also gives artifacts on the map.
The problem seams to be more intense in area with alpha textures such as fence.
Also when this problem starts, if I set off 3d vision using "ctrl T" everything is good but then if I try to re-activate it, both left and right eyes images are the same (so no 3d) while both emitter and glasses turn on anyway.
I run a sli of GTX 680 with win 7 64
Is anyone is able to run fake 3d for a while with a sli without any issue?

The new driver everything works fine except for one glitch. All spoil distortion around people Who knows how to solve this problem? I've tried various settings of the game. Does not help. GTX-670

You can't "solve" it. That halo around people is a side effect from how the compatibility mode in the new drivers works. All you can do is minimize it by reducing your depth/convergence settings (at the sacrifice of reducing the 3D effect). One way to easily do that is to take your glasses off when adjusting your convergence and stop when the two images of Aiden come the closest to overlapping perfectly.

I did some testings and I noticed with some of the older drivers, the 3D in this game looks less broken than the newer ones. I rolled back to one of my favorite driver 320.18 and the 3D does look much better though.
I do have high tolerance with broken 3D though...lol
Anyone would like to test it out and confirm it? :))
I also tested on Tridef and the 3D is perfect but the performance is kind of laggy though.
