Before the latest driver update I was able to play games in 3d at a higher resolution - higher than 1920x1080. I don't remember the exact resultion. In my Nvidia control panel there were 3 options listed under 3D , now they are only 2 - 1920x1080 and 1280x720. HOw to I get the other - higher resolution back?
Thanks!
P.S. I'm quite a novice user in this regard and I admit I did not pay enough attention to the settings, it is also possible that an entire section in the "Change resolution" list is missing. It now has HD 3D and Ultra HD, HD, SD. I think there was another section on top of them that contained the higher resolution. I think it was 2275 X 1280, but I'm not really sure.
I'm using GTX 960
Update: I made a custom resolution 2275 X 1280 @24Hz and when I switch to it the TV says it is now showing in 3D. So far so good. When I set the resolution for a game I get the message that it is not supported.

I guess you are looking for the DSR (Dynamic Super Resolution)-settings which you won't find under the "change resolution"-tab. You can find the DSR-settings under the "manage 3D settings"-tab (nearly at the top of all the settings). There you can modify the DSR factor to your liking.

Looks like that's it. Seems I have enabled it before while following some tutorial.
One more question - is it possible to make 3D work with the DSR on 60Hz instead of 24?
Thanks!

In case you play on a monitor you should activate 120HZ or even 144Hz (if the monitor supports it). In case of 3DTV Play stay on 60Hz and in no case set it to 24Hz!

It is not possible to play on a TV on 1920x1080 or higher at 60Hz - it shows the red message that this is not supported 3D resolution. After switching to 24Hz the 3D works ingame on those resolutions.
But this introduces a lag that is quite noticeable so I'm hoping there is a way to play on 3D on the TV at 1920x1080 or higher at 60Hz.
It seems I can only play in 3D at 60Hz using 1280x720.
It seems there is an imposed check to prevent the games running in 3D at 1920x1080 or higher at 60Hz because when I switch to this resolution the desktop goes 3D (the TV says it is now showing 3D) so it is possible, but something blocks it within the games. I'm hoping there is a way to prevent that.

Totally right! If you are playing on a 1080p TV then you are using 3DTV Play and thus you are restricted to 1280x720 @60Hz, mate!
Right now possible workarounds to get rid of the 720p limit for 3DTV Play is a hot topic on the forums!
But as far as I know the current situation still is that there is no way to go beyond 720p@60Hz with 3D TV Play!

The only official way is to have a Samsung 3D HDTV that supports Checkerboard as an input format. (Samsung calls it "pixel mode")
But then you are trading off full frame images (1080P) for interlaced images (1080i). While that might sound terrible, the end result is actually almost indistinguishable. The bad thing with Checkerboard is that you can not apply any scaling to the image.
