SBS is not 3D Vision. 3D Vision requires 3D Vision hardware. As for halos and the like, I see zero like in any other games I play on 3D Vision. They actually went a long way to add auto adjustment of convergence to cinematics and other neat stuff like Depth crosshair and the like. Even the contextual UI is at the correct depth. Now I did see some tiny issues on my Surround setup, but I couldn't reproduce it in single monitor;) I think you want to say 3D Excelent in SBS, because in proper 3D Vision, is 3D Vision Ready;) (to avoid any confusion).

The game should definitely be listed as Nvidia 3D Vision when I take out the NVIDIA profile. What's more, it is one of the best 3D games out there. At the same level as the other two previous Tomb Raider's and also at the level of Batman Arkham City or Origins, Trine 1,2 or 3, etc. Once you play in 3D you do not want to play the game in 2D ... you know how to play it in 2D. This afternoon I was able to play 3 hours in a row until I had restarted alone. Do you know if there is any way to know if the patch they got has updated my Tomb Raider? I mean, is there any way to know if I have the game updated to the last patch?

Definitely, both SBS and 3DVision are unbelievably good in 4K. 3DV produces a noticeably cleaner and better resolved image. However, if I up the sharpness and engage super resolution on my LG OLED, SBS gets pretty close. Performance is dramatically superior on SBS. The whole situation makes me happy/sad. Just when I was finally getting over the fact that 3D support was largely abandoned, SOTTR reminded me just how good real 3D can be.

No, it's devinitevly not "3D Vision ready" as the game even can't handle the most basic task: enable correctly 3D Vision and recognize its current status! Some of You are lucky that they have a hardware that by change allows to enable 3D Vision with a more or less complicated workaround. For others like me it's a 5% chance to get 3D Vision running. If You have to try hours to get the game running it is not what I would call "3D Vision ready"...

Having to use a 3d photo viewer trick to launch the game in 3D is not acceptable (and this trick doen't work easily for everyone, I have to alt-tab many times and sometimes the 3D doesn't even kick in). It's not up to ddr0390 to change his hardware or reinstall his OS (he would be stupid to do that), it's up to the devs to properly support 3D vision, which is not the case at this time.

Thanks, Laast3D :) Especially Helifax who found a workaround that offered a solution for some/many players stated that the game doesn't handle 3D Vision correctly. If You have to be lucky to find a method that per chance works with Your hardware (that works correctly with every other game, not to mention ROTTR) then the developers did something wrong. It is very commendable that their game engine supports correct stereoscopic rendering. But the first bug with the missing textures and the remaining bug with enabling 3D Vision seems to indicate that there was no QA regarding 3D, at least in the final phase before the release. It is like building a dreamcar but locking the fuel tank with a slot machine! I don't want to rant about this fact in the official support or steam forum. I don't want to give the developers the feeling that supporting 3D only causes more complaints so that it will be left in future releases. But when I friendly report the fact that 3D Vision isn't implemented correctly and other users respond with "it luckily works for me, so it must be not the game but Your hardware" then I have to state again and again that the game is broken and still needs to be fixed. I'm willing to wait patiently for a real fix even for weeks. But when I get the feeling that the bug never will get fixed because a majority was lucky to find a workaround then it is quite frustrating :(

Anyone here who managed to get it running on a 4K TV using the EDID override? I have an 65 LG 4K OLED EF950V (EF9500 in the US) and usually I play ALL of my 3D Vision games without any problems on this TV (using joker's EDID override). Shadow of the Tomb Raider runs in 3D Vision on my 24" 3D Vision monitor flawlessly but somehow 3D doesn't kick in on my 4K OLED. When I launch the game (Fullscreen-checked, Exclusive Fullscreen-checked, Stereoscopic-ON, VSync-checked, DX12-unchecked, HDR-unchecked) the game launches with a little bit of back and forth switching (black screen with some weird coloured strips). When finally in the title menu the game is fully 2D. Changing this via the options menu again gives me some back and forth switching and the title screen is back in 2D. Any suggestions?

Hi, I just bought Shadow of the Tomb Raider and started to automate Stereo 3D in 3D Fix Manager. I also had the issue of flickering (3d on, off, on, off...). If found a solution to fix this. I'll publish a fix profile for 3D Fix Manager this evening. For anyone interested: When starting the game 3D Fix Manager will change its registry settings in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eidos Montreal\Shadow of the Tomb Raider\Graphics. In this registry key it sets: EnableDX12 = 0 (off) ExclusiveFullscreen = 1 (enabled) Stereoscopic3DMode = 2 (3D Vision, 1 would be side by side) Fullscreen = 1 (enabled) DOFQuality = 0 (off) MotionBlur = 0 (off) RefreshRate = 120 (144hz triggers the flickering!) The fix profile will also skip the launcher when starting the game. I tested these settings on None-SLI on a Asus PG278QR Monitor. Helifax suggested to disable 3D on game launch. This shouldn't be required any more with this profile. At least I guess so :).

lohan_0903 - I was finally able to get normal 3D Vision display (not SBS) to work with my E6 OLED, using the SAME settings you describe. Initially, I encountered the texture color problem in SBS mode, but the devs fixed this problem (and enabled normal 3D Vision under DX11). I am using joker18's latest EDID (65E6V mod 2.inf) - thanks again, joker18 - and driver version 399.24, OC Pascal Titan X GPU. Enabling DX12 (3D On or Off) still immediately crashes game, on my setup. I have created Square Enix problem report, but getting standard response (collect data that is NEVER analyzed - already provided fault module and exception code)...
