There is one picture where you can see my black shadow problem. (yes shadows are off :) its a different shadowtyp)
I'm not sure, I'll take a look when I get home.
Which drivers are you using? I'm using the 1.13 disc. It might just have to be like STALKER in dynamic lighting mode where I switch between 2d and 3d depending on the problems. My impression of Risen though was that it looked really nice in 3d, but I don't remember using any torches either.

Thanks.
I use disc 1.13 too. The whole game looks awesome, its just in the dark caves ... so i have to use the torch. After droppping the torch its getting better again. Just that you know, i play the game in 3D its okay and far more atmospheric than with shadows. :)

Played the Risen demo last night and was very impressed after adjusting the convergence. I am still shocked at how much better games look when you adjust the convergence to get true depth. The way I adjust convergence for 3rd person view games is to take my glasses off and adjust the convergence until my on screen character appears to be a single image. This gives me a really great depth experience.
The game seemed fun and challenging from what I played. I may pick up the full version. I also get the weird shadow problem when using torches in a cave. When switching 3D off though, the game seems so much more lifeless that I'd rather put up with the shadow problem. Seems kinda strange that torches would still cast shadows even after turning shadows off though.
I may have to reinstall gothic 3 with the latest patch and give it a look based on the positive comments about it in this thread also.

I could'nt agree more. For me the depth is almost the same value (like 65%). But for every game i had to adjust a new convergence setting. Looks really great. So i wonder why NVIDIA hide this option in some kind of way... :)
I find my perfect convergence setting with a different approach.

So you keep depth at 65% all time then play with Convergence...interesting I have been doing depth at minimum and working only with convergence to give me a pop out effect instead of a deep inside the monitor one.
Funny how the pop out with convergence set up looks much more like miniaturized version of the world compared to going with a deeper "mode" setting. :-)
I guess this is a matter of preferences and also the game being played right? /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
BTW, I tried this game yesterday and boy it is a nice one but of course 3D Vision just makes it our own mini real world to explore....I have not been this excited with technology for a while...I show this to everyone I know and the look on their faces just tell the whole story. LOL
I do get a weird effect when carrying the torch like mentioned before so I hope a new profile or driver fixes this but it is probably a game thing.

Yeah, you are right. Hey i'm happy to read about another way to setup your 3DV. I will try your setting later. :) And you are right about the faces. :)
I really hope this game works well in S3D. I love the Gothic series, despite all the bugs, and I am actually going through Gothic 3 right now - I never finished it when I got it a few years ago because of the bugs and how slow it ran then for me. Gothic 3 is an amazing immersive experience so I am hoping for more of the same for the Piranha Bites dev team.
There is a very large patch out there for gothic 3 that you should download. It is fan made patch. It turns the game into something much cleaner. Its a must have seriously....
