New to a world of 3D
Hi all,

I built a HTPC last year on a bufdget for watching HD movies on my projector (Optoma HD66). which it does perfectly well!

Now I realise I can watch 3D BluRays etc. from it using the 3D vision kit and the H5360 EDID file, correct?

I have a AMD 4850e http://products.amd.com/pages/DesktopCPUDetail.aspx?id=426

2GB of Ram

And I have just got hold of a XFX GeForce GT240 512mb card for a fairly cheap price.

As far as I understand this will play the BluRay files fine using CUDA? But how will it cope with games and what games could I expect to play using this setup? The system is primarily built for movies and I use a Xbox 360 for the odd game I play but curious to see what the 3D gaming experience is like.

Many thanks in advance.

Stuart.

I'm not really sure one way or the other on how much CPU and/or GPU is needed to run 3D movies, but game performance will be abysmal at best with that setup.
