The 8800 is DirectX 10 isn't it? So when the driver comes DirectX 10 games will be in stereo on Vista? Or are You waiting for a DirectX 9 driver to XP? I'm going to buy this card when the driver comes.

I bought my computer in december and I have been waiting for stereo-driver since then. I thought I could use same 91.31-driver as with my older card... but no...(should have done my homework and wait for a while more)
Don't want any Vista in my computer for several reasons (you find some up /haha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':haha:' /> ) so i really want a 8800-stereo driver for winxpx86...
ps: (and a long one too...)
DirectX is the link between the software and the drivers.
The drivers are the link between DirectX and the graphic-card.
Just cause the card is optimized for dx10 doesn't mean it can't handle dx9 and elder dx-versions. That's a driver issue as well as with stereo processing.
However Dx10 requires another internal structure of the card (unified shaders bla bla) and therefore elder cards wont support it.
8800 and all future g.boards for dx10 will probably be entirely backward compatible. It's "only" a driver issue as well as with making a stereodriver.
Unfortunately the changed internal structure of dx10-cards forces the developers to start all over with driver programming, even when it comes to dx9.
Add the fact that mr Gates released that Vista thing at the same time...
The driver developers probably have a living hell right now...
So, I know that stereo is not the most high priority.
Just hoping somebody could give a hint about any progress about stereo drivers. (yes, it's spring now and I'm having happy thought as well! :P)
I'm cheering for the developers of Nvidia! but please don't forget us stereofrekz! /geek.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':geek:' />

New drivers seems to be out for the 8800! /smile2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':))' />)
Betadrivers though. Those can be found on the MTBS3D.com site.
Gonna consider myself a betatester for now. lol!
btw: Many and big thanks for those developing these drivers. :)
Please remember to post your results here and at mtbs3d.com. There is a special thread, and this is where the game developers go to see what works and what doesn't.
I'm envious, because I don't yet own an 8800 - so I'm eager to hear how things turn out!
I was able to mod my INF file for success with most games - so those waiting for the upcoming release for 6 and 7 series cards can try that out too.
