But I didn't update to the latest Windows "crap" version with "Game Mode". (I keep on postponing that). I did try it on both Win 7 and Win 10 with different drivers though... Works until it suddenly freezes... No temperature or any GPU related problem I can see ... and is only this game that does this...HMM... 99% sure is a game/engine problem... grr... Switching drivers seems to make zero difference as well.

Yeah, I expect it has to do with the damn Surround Resolution. It seems it doesn't like running above 1920x1080. On a single screen works fine :( I had the same issue in December but I managed to find a work-around that was caused by WDDM and not by the game.. Now it seems that doesn't matter... grrr...

After billions of hours lol (feels like it) I found out what the problem was. Rehade 2.0.3 is the one that made the crash :( I'll try a Reshade 3.0.7 profile now and see how this works;)

Not sure how many of you are interested in this... Latest DLC works perfectly fine with the current FIX (some god-rays look wrong in certain places - but you can disable them with F2 key if you want. The engine sends "wrong data" there.) I must say... the game with all the DLCs (2) is pure awesome! If you are a Dark Souls fan is A MUST! (If not, you should be one! ^_^). Regarding crashes: - The game seems to do some wierd checks at a point. In 2D, it slooows down to 1FPS and reverts back 3 seconds later. After which you can play for hours! In 3D it hangs here. - I was able to make the game crash less, If I disable any overalys (including SHARE's FPS overlay). - Reshade doesn't seem to matter as well. Is a game check problem - probably some anti-cheat mechanism!

http://www.dsogaming.com/news/dark-souls-3-patch-1-14-is-now-available-full-release-notes-unveiled/
The wonders of playing a fully patched game. No crashes so far. I have the noisy SSAO in lit areas problem. Maybe I'll try redumping and refixing the shader, if the problem isn't the drivers. 9 hours until I'm home, so maybe helifax can provide an answer before that :p. Can't wait to play more! About performance, my GTX 1080 isn't enough to get near consistent 60fps in 3D at 2560x1440, as I feared, so I'm playing at 50Hz per eye. Most of the time I hit that target fps (many times barely getting by, at over 90% GPU usage). Also, I suffer the black screen at exit issue on Windows 10 (as well as in DS1), which can be avoided by using Hotkey Resolution Changer. Thanks for the fix to everyone that contributed.
Did you already try to set the desktop refresh rate to match the refresh rate in game? For me the black screen issue often happens when the refresh rate changes when leaving a game and returning to desktop (e.g. 120 hz in game and changing to 144 hz refresh rate on desktop -> blackscreen). This is the reason I made an option in 3D Fix Manager to set desktop refresh rate to 120hz when playing in 3D mode. So the refresh rate doesn't change when closing the game. This fixes the issue not 100% but blackscreens barely happened again for me since then.

I always use 120Hz (or 100Hz in this DS3 case for consistency) and native resolution in the desktop. Although I have modified the refresh rate timings with Custom Resolution Utility, so all custom resolutions and DSR resolutions will be compatible with 3D and also with the G-Sync+ULMB trick. As a result, I'm always in Lightboost mode in the desktop (not ULMB), as long as G-Sync is disabled.

Is there a way to remove the target lock on light and target health bar? They seem broken in 3D. Game is perfect with the 3d Patch but locking on to targets kinda breaks the immersion. It's a shame because everything else is flawless.

It's at the same depth as the HUD. It isn't broken. It's just less than ideal. Making a dynamic depth lock on is usually pretty hard. If you remove that, you would probably remove a lot of other HUD elements, unless it's done by texture filtering. By the way, I'm holding onto a new update of the fix, with two new fixed shaders that were previously disabled (wave distortion at bonfires, some swords, fog walls, fire, etc. Sadly, they are affected by clipping too, like lighting, so sometimes it looks better with the effect disabled. More hotkeys!!!), but there is a third shader that I wanted to fix and still can't figure it out. I'll also make an HUD depth hotkey, so maybe that's good enough for you, Payne-TK. I'm focused on Tekken 7 but once I have more free time I'll try some more to fix that shader and give the files to helifax so he can publish it.

Hahaha! Since we are talking about Dark Souls 3 consider watching this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4O9rMQ-TlU In other news, I am now in the process of moving and starting a new job, hence my lack of presence around;) So... I'm still around, but very limited on time currently:( Cheers! Helifax
