Help a n00b out? anaglyph mode not working? read thru the forums and didnt see anyth
Well, first of all... I never knew that this existed... for PC's atleast. I got my sports illustrated in the mail a few days ago (photoshoot is done in 3d, and includes a set of paper 3d glasses) and a few hours later was looking online for photos/movies to play around with.
Then a saw this forum, did some digging around and now have the drivers all installed and ready to go. I'm pretty excited to try a 3d game using the 3d glasses.
so anyway, to make a long story short... I installed said nvidia drivers (the latest drivers... 91.71 I believe, but don't quote me on that number... I can assure you that they are the latest though) along with the nvidia base drivers and restarted my PC.
After getting that all set, I went into the nvidia control panel and messed with the Stereo settings a little bit to tweak the spacing of the overlaid images and such. The test application displayed the anaglyph perfect... looked great. Under the compatible games menu I saw that virtual pool 3 worked and was rated pretty good (and it was a quick install) so I gave it a try.
However, when I launched the game... it worked fine but no stereo image/anaglyph display showed up... it looked 100% normal. I haven't tried anything else yet as I wasnt sure if I did something wrong or whatever.
Please not that Stereo mode IS enabled in the nvidia CP... I even tried the CTRL+T toggle and still have nothing.
my PC specs are the following:
AMD athlon 64 3000+
2 GB corsair memory
500gb hdd
geforce 7800GS agp
XP MCE (SP2)
any ideas? This is kind of a bummer...
and for anyone not sick of my n00b questions already... what glasses would you reccomend that I pick up? I don't want anything crazy expensive as this would be more of a novelty that I'd use every once in a while but it would be nice to have a clearer picture. The red/blue hurts my eyes a bit

I'll give it a shot when I get out of work later. I actually thought about that and tried adjusting it out of game (thru the CP) and didn't notice a difference, although I have nothing to compare it to either.
I'll let you know how it goes... also, thanks for the link. Sounds like it's what I'm looking for.

I have used anaglyph before and it is ok, but you will want to get those eDimensional glasses if you want to not have color distortion from the red/blue glasses. Once you play your games in stereo 3d, you won't look back!

Welcome to stereo3d!
I'd try edimensional shutterglasses from newegg for $40.

As far as your stereo problem...
Just guessing you might try hitting CtrlF4 to expand the separation. See if that does anything. If not, ask again and we'll see if we can help.
