3D Fix Manager - Application for installing 3D Vision Fixes + Hotkey Editing Support
36 / 60
Hi, I believe I have a bug
I tried using the scaling and SBS modes from migoto 1.3.10 using 2 games :
-Abzu
-Ori and the blind forest (definitive edition)
3D Vision fix manager does not copy the required "includes" files inside the game's shaderfixes folder. I have to do it by hand. Do you also have this issue ?
Just tried it with ABZU. Works without any issues on my computer. When updating 3dmigoto the application just copies ...FixManager\bin\Release\3Dmigoto\x32 (or x64) folder to the game directory. In this directoy there are all include files.
What was your procedure to install the fix and the Side by Side shader? I just clicked on "install 3D fix" button, confirmed with yes that i want to update to 3dmigoto 1.3.10. Then in Hotkeys tab I enabled Side by Side shader, saved the config and startet the game. It worked.
I also have an even weirder bug in Ori (no in Abzu) : when using the scaling feature 3D migoto displays an error in overlay :
- Unimplemented feature to force screen width in CreateSwapChainForHwnd
- Unimplemented feature to force screen height in CreateSwapChainForHwnd
and fails to scale the resolution I have set. (just keep using the default resolution)
I also got this message in another game. I think it's something which has to be implemented yet and what we see in future releases of 3dmigoto maybe.

I have a GTX1070. I have quite good performance in ABZU, many places where the framerate dips below 60fps, but it's fine.
The reason for trying to use SBS + scaling is to change the output type.
I currently use frame sequential 120Hz using Nvidia's Generic CRT mode, and the Geobox converts this signal to dual hdmi for dual-projectors.
The issues with this system are :
- 50% chance of frame ordering failure when starting a 3D session (geobox does not receive L/R metadata with each frame, it assumes one frame ordering and goes with it), when the frame ordering fails :I get swapped eyes and a 1-frame lag between the eyes (I need to press CTRL+T multiples times to restart 3D vision until it gets it right)
- small sync tear near the bottom of the left eye (Geobox old firmware bug)
SBS ouptut is more reliable :
- frame ordering is predictable and reliable, and in case some game does something fishy with the resolution/refresh rates, SBS will resist.
- perfect V-sync, always
- V-sync is optional, so I could potentially use Adaptive V-sync
- Future proof for variable refresh rate systems (I have neither the projectors nor the Geobox for such a system, but manufacturers were to make one, I could buy it and try to use it through SBS...)
Then I try to use the resolution override in order to benefit from the full resolution.
But that requires the game to render at a normal 1920x1080, while the full screen output to render at 3840x1080.
I know the hardware works since that's the configuration I already use for Tridef. I would like to find how to configure 3D migoto to produce the correct SBS picture.
I still have the Geobox in the chain, I am not trying the direct drive through surround yet (I miss some adapters... I realized that I only have miniDP adapters from my old AMD configuration, and my current GTX1070 has full-size DP sockets)
- Ori and the Blind Forest fails to activate the override resolution, 3D migoto displays an error message
- Abzu does produce the correct output resolution (but there is a bug I have reported in the other thread : the game detects the output aspect ratio is 32:9 and changes the viewport's aspect ratio, the horizontal FOV is doubled)

I'm also using Nvidia Generic CRT mode for my projector (Optoma UHD40) and got the same issue with 50% chances for the sync being correct. Is this an issue of Generic CRT mode?

Generic CRT does not include sync info in-between frames. Back in the CRT days, a dongle was inserted inline and 3rd party software was used to sync the frames and glasses.
Even if it did, you are using DLP Link sync technology and as I stated in the other thread, it does not distinguish between the right and left frames.

I looked in the folder : 3D fix manager/3dmigoto/x64 (or x32), the "includes" are missing :
ShaderFixes\upscale.ini
ShaderFixes\mouse.ini
ShaderFixes\3dvision2sbs.ini
and their associated hlsl files...
When I just install the fix through 3D Fix Manager and try to use the SBS and/or scaling options, 3D migoto reports the files are missing.
I have to download 3dmigoto 1.3.10 release manually from the 3d migoto github releases page and put it in the game folder.
Then for the SBS and resolution override configuration, I used the 3D Fix Manager's options under the hotkey tab. (the "hotkey" tab has grown so much, perhaps it could be renamed "game profile" now ? )

You are absolutely right! The Directory "ShaderFixes" is completely missing in the release version of 3D Fix Manager and I didn't notice this for months or even ever since I created 3D Fix Manager but nobody ever reported this bug!
When creating the release version of 3D Fix Manager I have a script which does some file cleaning and by mistake this script also deletes the ShaderFixes folder... I didn't notice that because in my "uncleaned" version the folder still exists. I'll add the missing files and report back when it's done. You can redownload 3D Fix Manager then. Cool that you found this bug as this is a very severe one.

Thanks for the info D-Man. BlackSharkfr's post sounded like there should be normally metadata for R/L eye and I wondered if they were missing due to CRT mode. So I'll just continue to use CTRL + T workaround to swap eyes.

Now that I use DP on my BenQ I have to deal with this issue all the time and unfortunatly CTRL-T hang if used when I play MWO and MWO only so I have to ALT-ENTER 1, 2, 3 and sometimes 3, 4 and 5 times before it sync corectly. This is so annoying under Windows 10 it takes like 6-7 seconds for each sync so sometimes the match start and I'm trying like 30-40 seconds to ALT-ENTER to get the good sync. That's why I asked if it was possible to have a key combination that would just swap the eyes in a fraction of a second but I think it's not possible, a full sync must be done if I remember correctly.

I would try if 3dmigoto works with MWO and enable "regular 3D Vision" mode via 3D Fix Manager. Then in game press F11 if the sync is inverted. This is currently the procedure I do for fixing the sync for DX11 games. For other games I also press ctrl + t. I've noticed that some games require you to press this key combinations several times until sync is correct. For reverting sync it's also possible to disable / enable 3D via projector OSD until it's correct.

Thanks for your continuing motivation with French translation! C'est fantastique ;D. It's funny that "About" tab is "À propos" in French. Makes me smile every time.
