OK the 3D blog never came out, should I return my TV
I have a 40" 3d led samsung un40c7000 tv and 15 days to return it, can anyone tell me if it will work with 3dtv play it was really expensive and I need an answer soon!
I already have 3d vision but do not want to use my mitsubishi DLP anymore for it(different room).
Come on Nvidia will it work and do I have to buy samsung glasses ?

Would be nice for nvidia to atleast pass us a little information as to what is happening with this now, waiting on the supposed blog myself, its just as well that my tv is a fantastic albeit, expensive 2d tv, ot i would be well cheesed off!

Still hoping for an august release for this software, but to be honest, i ain't going to hold my breath.

that has nothing to do with a blog, and the lawsuit will raise prices 12 dollars btw

Yeah to be safe I would return the TV and in the future maybe wait for support before committing to big ticket items with uncertain compatibility. Either way you will have to buy their native glasses, this has already been clarified in some of the 3DTV play documentation because the PC is no longer handling the signaling and synchronization to the glasses. On the PC, the video card is just sending a true 120Hz output and the monitor just renders the stereo frames in time sequential format which is synchronized to the Nvidia emitter.

HDTVs are different due to HDMI 1.4a frame packing standards which can not handle 120Hz, they can only support 60Hz signaling so what they do is they pack each frame differently to compensate. So instead of 1280x720p @ 120Hz, they have to get a little bit creative to work around the HDMI limitation of 60Hz so they "framepack" 2 frames into 1 single larger frame, so for side-by-side it would be a 2560x720p frame and for top-bottom it would be 1280x1440p. Then the HDTV's DSP/motion processor takes that large frame, cuts it in half and displays either one first and synchronizes this to the L and R lens on their own glasses. So you will definitely need glasses that are compatible with your specific TV.

Thanks for your response, I was wondering what the emitter was even needed for anymore, that makes sense.
I had a chance to buy the TV at a huge discount and did, I am fairly confident it will work though because in the nvidia knowledge base
they are already using the un46c7000 which is mine but 6 inches bigger. I also hope it looks better than the checkerboard
of my 65inch DLP which was a bit dim

Thanks goes to HTPCFREAK.
I don't own the newer 3D samsung tv myself but I love a work around :)
---------------------
Got MvA Blu-ray 3D to work on my Samsung 58" using PowerDVD 10 3D Ultra Mark II, but not before some tweaking. Here's how to do it:

1. Connect via HDMI port 1 (DVI) from PC to TV
2. Change source name to PC (ie. go into PC mode)
3. Set PC resolution to 1920x1080 @ 120Hz (not sure if 120Hz is needed, but I don't get underscan in this mode, so why not?)
4. Re-adjust TV settings to turn off Torch mode
5. Start PowerDVD and set 3D mode to "3D Ready HDTV". Also change eye view to "right". Play MvA.
6. For the TV, switch to 3D mode and select the checkerboard setting (only available via PC mode, it's the second from right mode) and switch on your 3D glasses
7. Re-adjust settings to turn off Torch mode (again)
8. Enjoy your Blu-ray 3D movie!

The above should work on any Samsung 3DTV.

Tested on a C2D E8500 with ATI Radeon HD 4850, in Windows XP. It's not Full HD 3D of course, but for that, we'll need new drivers from ATI for this to happen.
-----------------------

I didn't know these new generation 3D tv's had a checkerboard option.
You could follow the above steps and cut out the powerdvd option to select "3D ready HDTV" which is checkerboard output and instead go select generic DLP in Nvidia options.

I think it might work but I know you will get "Turn on 3D synch on TV" or whatever the message is will come up because you don't have any synch cable going from the TV to the Nvidia emitter.
I know it's not how it's meant to be but could be something to play around and test out until 3DTV play comes.
