Maybe, if that display works in side by side mode. If you can get it working, it will almost certainly only work over HDMI, and you'll have to play at 720p as 1080p/120hz isn't supported over hdmi.
There's a free trial, if you want to test it.
EDIT: I had incorrectly assumed the monitor had a 3d emitter built-in. That is not the case. Given this, I'm doubtful you'll get it to work.

Well, I feel it's fine without dynamic shadows (other shadows are fine) in 3D. It would be better with them of course, but I think the game looks great in 3D as is.
Whether it's worth a particular price to you, I don't know. I didn't bother trying Dark Souls until it came up as a $5.00 sale on Steam. Once I played it, it quickly became one of my favorite series, and I didn't hesitate to pay full price for Dark Souls 2.

Actually it doesn't have to be side-by-side. I'm running top-bottom to get more resolution out of the image. And yes, you can play 1080p through HDMI, but depending on your mode, it will be cut in half and upscaled. For example, I choose 1920x540 (top to bottom - upscaled to 1080p) so that I'm only losing fidelity with respect to my vertical res instead of horizontal res. HDMI will output 1920x1080@60p in TB/SBS mode. It's just not the "true" resolution. The overall pixel count (with no upscaling) is actually higher than a true L/R 3D image at 1280x720@60fps.

I wrote that post while half asleep, my apologies. You won't have to run it at 720p (as shaderhacker rightly points out), but you will need to use side-by-side or top-bottom.
Shaderhacker, I'm curious. Why should the two methods be different in terms of image quality? Side by side and top/bottom bottom are both using the same number of pixels all up.
stop saying switching off shadows is fine its not
definately not going to pay 50 euro when i cant play with shadows :/
Well it depends on your perspective. To me as a big Souls games fan I didn't want to wait any longer to play the game, and playing it in 3D with some of the shadows missing is way better than playing in 2D or waiting months or maybe forever for a fix.
Also I paid £20 for the game.

Thanks. Pretty sure my monitor doesn't support either of those modes. AFAIK it's just a 120Hz monitor and relies entirely on 3D Vision drivers to do 3D. Can you combine tridef and 3D vision, having them both running so tridef will fix the 3D and 3D Vision will turn the emitter on?

Of course, they might not be significant enough to stop many people wanting to play the game immediately, which is totally fair enough.
But for me, I am definitely waiting for dynamics shadows, because I have seen this, and now I can't unsee it:

I feel this is something important worth noting.
The dynamic shadows in the game look really, absolutely wonderful.
Throughout most of the game, the only light sources that produce dynamic shadows are your torch and bonfires.
Throughout the game (having completed it) there were only, realistically, about two places that having a torch really felt useful - especially at the expense of no longer having an off hand weapon - and one of those two places are an optional mini-dungeon.
The game looks super damn delicious with dynamic shadows, but even with them turned on, you don't see them very often and when you do outside of torches and bonfires, it's much more subtle and less noticeable.
That game is awesome in 2D with ENB. That game is super great in 3D with shadows off. The game would be best in 3D with dynamic shadows, but currently that isn't gonna happen.
If you use an ultra greatsword, I recommend you try playing in 3D with it, because seeing that fucker popping out of the screen at you while you run around looks SO cool!

Also, I just think this shot shows off the 3D well, I've really liked it for a while.

I just wanted to chime in here and mention that I was able to have some success running 3dvision and tridef at the same time on dx9 games with an Asus Vg248qe over DVI to boot.
However this is also the problem, the performance hit was go bad I had to abandon the idea.
I really wish nvidia would step its game up I am considering just getting a tridef supported monitor as it seems to have way better support for new releases. Fake 3d one one card is still better than no real 3d support in 3dvision =/

What you see in that gif almost never happens though. Of the 100 hours I've put into the game so far, probably less than 10 minutes was me fighting with torch equipped (almost all in the Gutter). Generally when you want to light a sconce you crack a butterfly, light the sconce and extinguish your torch, or you clear out the enemies between the bonfire and sconce and then run through with torch. Once they are lit the sconces do not cast dynamic shadows and nor do the vast majority of other light sources in the game.
Progressing through a regular area with torch equipped is very risky and the game isn't dark enough to need it.

But, if someone does want to play with lighting closer to the original reveal, ENB allows you to disable ambient lighting and makes torches a lot more important. I've been playing with it for a while and stuff gets really dark and you really do need a torch. It's really cool.

Not from what I'm seeing in practice.
Side-by-Side seems to involve more pixels to filter (960 horizontal > 540 vertical) than top-to-bottom.. it seems to be blurring more of the image.

Tridef shadows outside and torches both work. Game is 3D-ready with newest Tridef Beta. :)
