All bad news. How depressing. Luckily this game is amazing not in 3D. So I'm buying it anyway tonight. I'm sure they will fix the problems soon. /sorcerer.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sorcerer:' />

From what I read … Blast!

I as well was hoping BS2 would be okay with 3d out of the box, much less a half decent port. I was hoping to play it while I wait for a ME2 3d patch. Alas it seems I have hoped for too much.

Well I bought the collector’s edition from Amazon and it won’t be here till Friday anyway. Maybe there will be a fix by then, but I ain’t holding my breath.

I guess I'll go back to sleep now. Nothing worth staying up for yet.

Another issue I have noticed is that I get very nauseaous when playing BS2. Initially I thought this was due to 3D, and it did in fact happen quicker than in 2D mode, but even in the latter I start feeling sick after about 20min of gameplay. The only other time this has happened to me was with BS1, due to its lack of support for widescreen resolutions and hence the faulty FoV.

While it seems as though nothing is 'cut off' as it were, I still can't rid myself of the suspicion that once again 2K didn't get the FoV settings right for one of their titles... Anyone else notice this?

Well, the fov for that helmet is pretty small. /shifty.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':shifty:' />

I fired the game up this morning and 3D vision was not working. I enabled 3D in the options menu but whenever I push control - T nothing happens. Very annoying for a game which was supposed to be supported out of the box. I will wait for it to be updated. I've already ruined half of Mass Effect 2 by playing it without 3D. I will not spoil BS2 as well!

If I had to guess, the game isn't really putting the display into a true "full screen" mode. It's just making a full screen sized window. If somebody could figure out a way to force the display to truly go full-screen, I bet you could turn 3D vision on.

Edit: oh, that's exactly what the 3-D Vision setting in the Graphics Options does. Durp. Make sure you exit and restart the game when you turn that on. 3-D totally works for me.

Possible to change the setting in the config file maybe. I got the game on steam. I will try it when I get home. I am not sure if I can play withthe config file for a steam game though.

It doesn't seem to be particularly amazing in 3D, but it gets the job done. The lack of a 3D crosshair is the only real problem I've noticed with it so far.

Hopefully an actual profile will be released for it in the next driver update (which I'm hoping will be sometime next week) which will sort any problems out.

Hi All

As previously said, we are working with the developer on a patch for this game to address many of the issues. We dont have a date for it yet, but we will work to get it out as soon as we can.

I'm trying not to get too worked up, but isn't this something that could have been worked out well before launch day considering all of the contact nV has had with the developers? It seems strange that the problems are such a surprise all of the sudden. They should have been squashed months ago if there was actually enough contact going on to justify having a 3d stereo option in the game's menus.

I'm not that annoyed really since it is just a game, however, I am very disappointed. I will certainly be looking at nV's statements regarding 3d vision with a lot more cynicism in the future. If I had known how broken the game was going to be in 3d, I would have waited to purchase it.

From the Bioshock Q&A at http://www.2kgames.com/cultofrapture/artic...k2pcmegafeature
Do you support any special display modes?

BioShock 2 has been designed from the outset to take advantage of NVIDIA’s GeForce 3D Vision displays. Users with compatible display units and peripherals can experience the world of Rapture in full, breathtaking 3D.
And Andrews comment:
We have been working hard with the BioShock2 developers. The game is going to be an amazing one. This is my favorite game franchise and I have been playing this developers games for many years now.
How can it then be that there are so much problems with 3D? I was really looking forward to this game. This is so disappointing.

Give me a break

Ever hear the saying, don't kill the messenger?

What is Nvidia to do? They can't FORCE Bioware to make the game 3D friendly. All Nvidia said was that they were working with Bioware.

Bioware were the ones claiming they designed the game for 3D from the get-go. If you should be upset at anyone, it should be Bioware.

3d is working great here. The only negative is the 2d crosshair which Im sure will be fixed or turned off soon.
Honestly it's a lot better than Bioshock 1, where the 3d broke a lot of effects. It's really nice to see 3d distortion and shadows in a game for once.

If anyone is having problems with the 3d not turning on try alt-tabbing to the desktop and then back to the game. That fixes it for me.

EDIT: ACTUALLY, it looks as if the 3d crosshair is broken as well, probably in the same way as Mass Effect 2 except you can't rename Bioshock2...
