Nvidia 3d vision with samsung 3d led monitor (not 3d vision ready)
Ok, doing a workstation build sometime soon. of course it will be an intel/nvidia machine /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Here is my problem. I like samsung displays... always have. I love the way they look, and IMO they always produce a better picture than the competition. I really want to get the new 27" samsung series 9 3D LED monitor...... however, apparently, that monitor will not support nvidia 3D vision, it will instead come with tridef software, and its own glasses. so what i wanna know is if there will be any way to make them work together? Mainly talking about the software, don't care which physical glasses/transmitter i use (unless it affects the quality) but want to use the nvidia 3d vision drivers/software.

btw... the computer will be utilizing an Nvidia Quardro4000 which has 3d vision PRO (if that affects anything?) Also will be using either dual link dvi or display port out. I will be using 3d for a full spectrum of content....Movies/gaming/and any autocad & 3d modeling software that supports stereo 3d

please any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

If is not labeled as 3D Vision Ready I don't think the drivers will recognize it...meaning you will not be able to use it with 3D Vision..unless you hack the drivers....
Currently Samsung offers only SyncMaster 2233rz monitor as 3D Vision Ready..and they stoped producing it...in nov 2010. (is not Led monitor. It uses fluorescent backlight).

I don't know if nVidia will plan to add support for it in 3D Vision thou....

I was also really looking at getting one of those Samsung monitors, but every indication so far is that 3d vision won't work. It looks like a great monitor and it appears the glasses won't dim as much as the Nvida ones do. The tradeoff is being stuck with Tridef for 3d, whose support level and profile releases are not at the level of Nvidia.

that's better than cheapo led anyway, even though the whole concept s*cks.
