With tweaking what is the lowest hz that 3d can run?
I see 120hz and also 100hz for crt.

I am getting the panasonic v10 and it can do 96hz. It has this gobbly-gook 600Hz sub-field drive tech.

I know I am pushing it for visual comfort, but for short term 3d I could handle it.

I haven't seen the software/driver is there any flexibility?

From what I heard there are serious issues with getting 3D with anything other than 120Hz. Its not about whether it looks good or not, the driver will not even enable if you can't do at least 100Hz. To make matters worse, there are bugs with the Nvidia Vista/Win7 drivers that will make it so you cannot set proper custom refresh rates. So even if your CRT monitor supported 100Hz+ Vista will only allow you to set up to maybe 85Hz (and thus the Nvidia 3D driver will not enable). I would love to be proven wrong, but this is what I have heard from multiple users. I am not saying that your monitor definitely won't run in 3D, but if you do get it working it won't be a plug-and-play experience.

I run em at 85Hz with no problems, but at 60Hz or below my nVidia glasses won't even trigger (though my E-Dimensionals can).
Cheers,
DD

Hey guys

I have an old CRT than I can get running at a maximum of 85Hz.
Does this mean that if I buy the glasses kit (no new monitor) I will be able to ty out 3D vision?

I'm thinking of trying this and waiting a little while longer to get a 120Hz LCD until they are more competitive and get cheaper.

Thanks
Nick

Yeah, you should be good Dr. Nick (btw HI!!). 85 Hz flickers a noticeable clip (to me), but it's doable.

Awesome, thanks Andy. I might order in the glasses kit and try it out, but I dont think I'll last long with just the CRT before I cant stop myself from buying the monitor.

I find 100 intolerably flickery, and 120 to be the absolute bare minimum on my CRT.

Really?
Could this possibly be a different type of CRT? or do you mean LCD?

I have an Acer 77c, its probably about 6-7 years old I think... If that means anything to anyone
