Guide: How to Search the 3D Vision Sub-Forum More Efficiently
I'm not sure whether they added the Search Options function recently or I just hadn't noticed it, it does help in searching but it's also broken(Lol?), when you do a search for say 'ambient occlusion', you can click Show to show the Search Options.
From here you can select the specific Forum/Board you want to search as well as Sort Order and Date Range, then just click the Search button and voila! It spits out results for 'ambient occlusion' only in the 3D Vision sub-forum.
Want to view the next page of results? Click the little green next page arrow and voila!@$ ... it's broken. Lol. It spits out the 2nd page of results for the entire forum ... instead of just the 3D Vision sub-forum.
So instead of clicking the next page arrow, we want to edit the url in the address bar. It should look something like this:
https://forums.geforce.com/search/more/sitecommentsearch/ambient%20occlusion/?boards=49&order=relevance
We want to insert the page number followed by a forward slash(2/) in after the search parameters(ambient%20occlusion/) and before the question mark(?) like so:
https://forums.geforce.com/search/more/sitecommentsearch/ambient%20occlusion/2/?boards=49&order=relevance
To view the another page just change the 2 to any other number in the url, voila! a bit better searching. :)

Alternate Method: Click the next page arrow and then add ?boards=49&order=relevance to the end of the url and hit enter. Technically you only need ?boards=49 at the end for the 3D Vision Forums and you can add &order=date-desc or &order=date-asc to sort by date.
https://forums.geforce.com/search/more/sitecommentsearch/dead+space/2/
https://forums.geforce.com/search/more/sitecommentsearch/dead+space/6/?boards=49&order=date-asc

Hey nice find. Guess I'm so used to the forum having the stupidest possible UI that it never occurs to me to drill deeper. Thanks for the info.
I will say though, that there is a far superior search for the forums, using google 'site:' keyword.
Do this instead:
https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#safe=off&q=site:https:%2F%2Fforums.geforce.com%2Fdefault%2Fboard%2F49%2F+ambient+occlusion
site:https://forums.geforce.com/default/board/49/ ambient occlusion
That got me to thinking also, and there is a Chrome ability to add search engines. You can add the normal 3D Vision search above, or you can add my google site specific one as well.
So, this makes it possible, in Chrome, to type '3d' in the omnibox, hit tab, and be getting a site specific forum search.
How about:

Do this:
[olist]
[.]Go to Settings in Chrome.[/.]
[.]Manage Search Engines in middle.[/.]
[.]Other search engines, scroll to bottom.[/.]
[.]Add a new search engine: 3D forums[/.]
[.]Keyword: 3d[/.]

[.]Done[/.]

I'm not certain but I'm pretty sure the forum search just searches the comments, where google searches the entire page. Plus with the forum search you can sort by date, asc/desc didn't really see that on google. So there's pluses and minuses to both.
Ohh, I really like what you came up with for adding a '3D search engine' to Chrome, probably could do something like that in other browsers as well. I think I'll change the title to something else that covers your posts as well.

Yeah that Chrome thing was really interesting.
You can add the Nvidia forum search as a special target to Chrome just like that as well. So you can in principle have both directly from the Omnibox.
