Look Pirateguybrush I already told you I don't have windows 8...I bought win 8.1 when it came out and I won't be buying windows 8 just because nvidia can't fix their bugs.

Yeah, and I already told you that you can install 8 with an 8.1 key. Just perform the initial install with any old Win8 key you find online, then when it comes time to activate just put in your 8.1 key and it'll work fine.
Take a full backup first in case it doesn't work, but it worked for me.
EDIT: Actually, a better way if you have a spare hard drive would be to unplug your main drive, plug in the spare, and see if you can get this method to work. If it works, you know it's safe to do on your main drive.

too much hassle, my only option is to wait for nvidia to release a bugfix. Iam very hopeful, because there are two new games coming , particularly wolfenstein new order and watch dogs, so it would be nice if they include a bugfix in the newest whql drivers.

I suggest people try Manage 3D Settings/Program Settings/Multi GPU Rendering Mode - Force Alternate Frame Rendering 2. I installed the latest beta driver, for some reason decided to mess around with TR's settings some more, this made by far the biggest step back towards Win8 performance for me. I am also on prefer performance for power settings and single display for multi display mode setting.
Time to play this sucker through.

In fact since it was so easy to check I benchmarked with and without AFR2, without avg 18.6 with avg 47.9, max everything except tress fx, DOF and motion blur turned off, 2xSSAO

Pirateguybrush's suggestion sounds like by far the quickest and least stressful option to me. Unless 8.1 gives you something you really require, I'd consider it.
Think of how many months 8.1 has already been around. Now multiply that figure by how low a priority 3d is for Nvidia.....If there's a fix before 2015, consider yourself lucky.

LOL, less stressful he says, Iam not stressed either way, I rather wait than try something that might not even help. I play most of the new games, and they all benefit performance wise from having the newest os like win 8.1, I will not be reverting to windows without a start button, no way, never.
The solution is to wait, I write a single email once a week to nvidia to hurry up the bug fix.

I spent a huge ammount of money on nvidia hardware, this can't be overlooked, it's a bug nvidia is aware of and Iam sure they'll implement the bug fix in the next whql drivers

Try my suggestion half a page up and see if that helps.

If they do, that would be great. If they don't, will you accept the fact that you might just have to downgrade?
Writing a futile email each week about a fix that'll never happen just so you can stay on a terrible OS sure sounds like a silly strategy to me. But hey, it's your life, do what you like.
