Legend of Grimrock Old School Dungeon Crawl
  1 / 2
This is an old school RPG dungeon crawl that just came out and is on Steam for under $15. If you are old enough to remember and enjoy games like Dungeon Master, Bard's Tale, and Wizardy then this is a game worth getting. Just tried and the shadows don't look so good in 3D. I don't see any way to completely disable them in the config but the rest of the game looked good from my early impression of it. Reviews have been really positive for it so far also.

Did you try to disable them via helix debugger? http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=222386&view=findpost&p=1365862

The game is old school in feel but it is definitely using modern programming tech. There appears to be a number of shaders that affect the shadows to some degree but the only one I could find that removes them completely is the one I attached. Turning it off makes the dungeon really bright though and it loses a lot of its atmosphere. I also bet a number of shaders would have to be tweaked to make it work properly. The game seems fun so far though.

Theres ussually two for shadows one vertex shader/ one pixel. Check if there is a vertex one.

Just saw someone talking about it on IZ3D board. Might not have issues with it.

I might wait to play this in hope of a fix for the shadows in stereo, because the game looks like it'll be even better in S3D. It tends to look a little flat otherwise.

Btw there's a thread about 3D vision on the Grimrock forums here if people want to add their support for the request for the devs to fix the shadows-

I guess I will put this on the back burner for now. I will play some more Amalur when I have free time and next week I will probably replay Witcher 2 when the Enhanced Edition unlocks. I already did the 10GB pre-load earlier Thursday.

I am going to put this up on helixmod site later today. Let me know what you think. Install to main directory.
[attachment=25255:shaderoverride.zip]
Disabled:Bad shadows

Put hud/text into depth a little bit. Game looks good with higher convergence.(till mouse bothers you). Text being 2d makes it hard to read so I put it in depth a little bit.This also does various menu things/character boxes but it looks just as good in depth as 2d imo.(will not work for tridef)
