Has anyone else got an interest in a PC port of Dark Souls?
Might come to nothing but only found out about this today.
Sorry to clutter the forum but I like this sort of thing :-)

Knowing the relationship between Atlas and Sony, and the difficulty to simply get it on the XBOX360 this go around...I don't see it happening. When Demon Souls came out, Atlas previously made a firm commitment to Sony exclusive content, similar to Kojima, so it would be near impossible given the open connectivity nature of Demon Souls & Dark Souls on the PC. The risks would be too great, and the network code would need to be entirely rewritten. Something that the benefit doesn't align the efforts. As tremendous as the title is, it would struggle to captivate the same audience on the PC. The simplicity of the console gears heavily in the game's favor. [/i]

So we must hand it over to our tame PC tweaker. Some say he sticky tapes a block of uranium to his dinner before eating it and that he sucks moisture out of ducks. All we know is, he's called Hooks.

I'm sure what you say is factually correct, if slightly depressing. You know I have a 360 as well as the PC and I've been so tempted to buy the game, based on what I've read. We'll have to see what happens, but I think it would be a bit of a coup if it ever did go ahead.

Not sure that's 100% correct, the reason Demon Souls was PS3 only was that Sony published it. They then didn't want to fund a sequel and Namco stepped in, so Dark Souls was free to be on any platform which is why there's a 360 version, and why there could be a PC version.
I also think the game would find an audience on PC, assuming the controls can be transferred to mouse/keyboard.
However, the big reasons (IMO) why it won't happen is piracy, and just that most people who want to play it already have.
