Hegemonia: Legions of Iron (old game) needs a single tweek to be amazing
This is an old game, came out about 8 years ago I believe. Still, I had an urge to play a 4x-type game this weekend and installed it. It's a combination of Homeworld-type space combat and planet development.

Well, all I can say is WOW ! The graphics look amazing in 3DV and the explosions are the absolute, bar none, BEST I've ever seen -- and I've played over a hundred games. The only thing that needs to be done to make the game 3D Vision-ready is an annoying flare on the spaceship engines (if you boot up the game you'll immediately see what I mean). Anyway, just wanted to give people a heads up and ask if anyone out there has the knowledge to correct that flare glitch. From what I've seen of Helix-type fixes, this should be fairly straightforward for tech-savvy people (of which, unfortunately, I'm not part of).

Check it out guys !

No luck...The debugger would not activate because this game is DX8.1...It's an old version of DirectX that is not working with the Debugger.

Damn ! But you've seen what I mean, right ? The flare on the engines ? Shame, isn't it ? The rest of the game looks so beautiful, even more so when you realize how old it is. Thanks for trying, though !

Actually, come to think of it, is there a way to identify the offending code and just remove it ? I've looked around inside the game files and seen some that are names like they could be the ones governing engine flares. Sorry if this question sounds hopelessly idiotic to someone in the know; it's just that it's soooooo close to being awesome.
