Just like lots of people, i am confused about what is the difference between those 2 - 3D capable and 3D ready. I know that 3D ready means IR emiter and 3D bundled glasses but, is it possible to modify a monitor which is 3D capable and make it 3D ready?
Since the new Asus PG278Q monitor is 120Hz 3D capable, does that mean I can do 3D gaming? Can I simply install an IR Emitter inside (just like G-Sync mod, but here G-Sync is already integrated)?
I just wanna have a 1440p 3D monitor, i don't care if 3D can't work with G-Sync together. I am loosing my hope waiting for Asus to come up with a new 3D ready monitor when the market is full of 1440p monitors but none are 3D :(

You keep bringing up this display = /
Doesn't matter because there is no proof/confirmation it will be supporting 3D. Its all hearsay/wishful thinking.
Capable = Need to buy emitter/glasses
Ready = comes with.
120hz does not mean 3D support.

No where does it say it is 3d ready nor 3d capable anywhere on their product information page. Where the hell are you getting that from?

I asked Asus why not 3D ready instead of 3D capable, they were like: "
3D compatible is different from 3D Ready. 3D Ready requires the IR emitter and bundled 3D glasses. You can add these at your own cost, but they are not bundled."
So basically if i get the monitor, which does support 3D, i need to get IR emitter and 3D glasses to make it 3D Ready. Now for the glasses OK, but i am not sure if i will be able to install the emitter inside... So, has anyone ever modded a 3D capable monitor with a IR emitter? Is it even possible or it MUST be integrated?

wHuh?? Why would you need to install it inside? Just buy the stand alone IR emitter.

I am not really sure how reliable that site is. They may of wrote 3D vision support because they assumed it to be true. Specifications that really matter are from Asus site.
Emitter sits on your table, no installation.
