Guys is it worth getting TW2 for the 3D? It is on offer on Steam. I dont have that much moolar so I can only pick certain games
Thanks!!!

It is an incredible game. You will spend countless hours playing it.
Definetely worth to get it - a splendid experience. It's a very good mix of freedom and "always something interesting to do". In Oblivion/Morrowwind the quest setup was quite boring and gameflow somewhat tedious at times, that's totally different in TW2. Still it's not the usual linear bioware rpg experience, but very open. On top of thtis are deep character systems and georgeous graphics. It's hard not to like it. It's not perfect though (world simualtion could be deeper, ususable world space larger and more varied, more unique items, more difficulty - though there are mods for this /smile2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':))' /> ), but hugely underrated in my opinion.
Oh, and the stereo 3d, when set up right, is georgeous, too. My main gripe right now is only the lack of an sdk/toolkit.

I'm gonna need to give this one a try one of these days. I am intrigued, although I couldn't hang with the firt 2 Worlds - controls irritated me and I didn't feel motivated to continue.

These cursor lines where just an experiment of mine and aren't really doing anything (I forgot to remov ethem from my auotexec2.con /smile2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':))' />. The rest of the setup indeed is very cool, very immersive in stereo 3d.
Some accompanying hints:
Set mouse cursor to software mousecursor in the game menu. It's rendered on gui/hud level then.
Disable vsync. This greatly reduces the otherwise existing mouselag with software mouse.
Use nominimap mod from insidetwoworlds.com (or move the minimap more to the right side; I made some mod for this, too, that I still have to publish).
Uselarge inventory icons from ingame menu. This way merchants' menus or chest menus are only slightly cut off.
Try using FXAA by some_dude (just google). It smoothes only one of the two pictures, but nonetheless looks better than without it. It's much faster than the ingame AA solution (whioch smoothes bith pictures athough and looks therewith better).
All in all the game as no real glitches in 3d (some far off shadows on distant terrain, certain water reflections, some transpranceny of solid objects at certain condtions, but all very unoticably). Skybox, shadows, mouse cursor, onscreen icons, lightning effects - all the ususal suspects work flawlessly. Ghosting is very minimal due to high detail graphics merging very nicely and the fact that despite low separation high depth effect is reached by rendering everything on the poput side of things. Also there's almost no fps loss when switching to stereo 3d.

I want to enjoy the game but I am finding this popout only 3D really tough. I am trying it, I really am. It is just a little too painful. I have never found 3D painful, hours of gaming 100% depth. Why do you think Reality Pump chose to do 3D this way?

I miss my 100% depth with a little popout -sigh

Perhaps some calculations/graphic opertaions are faster with rendering things only on one side of the convergence point (popout here). By moving the convergence point via that stereofocal variable one can achieve the usual mix between popout and inscreen depth, but this breaks shadows and lighting in the game. Perhaps they decided to skip some calculation operation that treats shadows and lighting corretcly on both sides of the convergence point and therewith saved some horsepower that especially consoles would lack? Just guessing.

I can live without shadows. Can i use an iz3D driver on my Viewsonic monitor to get the game to work?
I can feel eye strain setting in. For real because I am looking closer than I would normally at the monitor! ouch!

I dont know about the viewsonic , I have a hn274h with build in ir-emitter and it doesnt work with iz3dshutter mode ,interlaced for zalman is ok.
The strange thing is oblivion - for example - works ! With two-worlds 2 theres only a flickering image and no sync.

I have downloaded the drivers, which engages my monitors 3D mode fine, but my glasses do not turn on. Is there a way to trick them to work?
I also noticed the flickering (juddering) but did something and it went away.

Is it just me or does this game seem to be very heavy on the hardware? It looks great in 3D-Vision - even if it still is Crysis 2-like 3D but you take what you get - but performancewise it is sooo slow. Whenever I move the character it feels like he is walking through water (or invisible jam); not even the Witcher 2 ran that bad (after it got patched oc).
Nonetheless..if you got the hardware to play it then it definately is something you wanna enjoy in 3D.

With respect, if you play on a 23" monitor I would warn people against it. It is purely popout which means even at low settings the character might be upto 10 cm out from the screen. Looking this near might cause eyestrain. It certainly hurt my eyes anyway. If you play at the game's 3D settings the popout isn't too severe but that results in very little depth perception.
A real shame. I cant play it like it is, so I guess I am saying avoid :(

The 3D in this game seems to Lag terribly, 13 frames per second, which is weird considering while in the highest settings and resolution without 3D, I've never seen it drop below 60 fps.
