Hello,
I come to ask what you think about 3D VISION
I'm asking myself if it's really worth it to buy it with my configuration, does the 3D is impressive? The review i've seen on the web are globally positive.
My configuration :
GTX 970 asus strix
i7 4790K
Monitor Benq 24" XL2411z (compatible 3dvision)
8GB ram
I would use it for GTA V, Civilization V, the assassin screed (the 3 first not unity) maybe arkham, and test it on more old game like age of empire 3, and some mmorpg like GW2 or Final fantasy XIV.
What do you think? Does my configuration will be able to hold it at good settings and enough fps?
I heard that you logically experience a fps drop. (for most recent games of course).
I have the money to spend, and i like improve all the time my gaming experience mais i don't know enough the technology and i wonder if i would have a real utility to buy it?
Thanks in advance for yours answers.

I have a similar set up to you and the answer is absolutely yes, you won't go back to 2D. Your performance should be minimal if set up correctly. To make the most out of 3D Vision you need to understand how to set it up correctly. For some reason Nvidia hides the advanced settings for showing the keyboard commands to adjust convergence and depth which can literally make the difference. When I say difference I mean significant difference. Out of the box settings for many games are merely unimpressive and in some cases, the developer locks the convergence settings which are conservative and unimpressive. 3D gaming is not the same as movies which I am sure you will discover.
Anyway, the other thing you will find is that many games are broken. The good news is this awesome 3D community, there are tons of things you can do in terms of fixes, tweaks, mods and game setups to make the most out of the technology. When you have time, look over this website to give you a better sense

A list of game fixes are also here
http://helixmod.blogspot.ca/2013/10/game-list-automatically-updated.html
Anyway, if you do get it you simply won't got back to 2D. I have a GTX970, AMD 9450 & BENQ W1070 setup on 120 Inch screen and even though I've had this set up for awhile I am still blown away any time I load up a game that is properly set up. I've never had this kind of immersion in gaming until now.

Hi there - I agree with Stryker, your setup is great for 3D Vision, so go for it :-)
As Stryker mentions, lots of newer games don't work well in 3D Vision "out of the box", but the community fixes most of them, found at the helixmod.blogspot site mentioned above. Since you mention GTA5, it's worth noting that although this game does look great out of the box, 3D is unstable right now and turns itself on and off, so not the best game to introduce yourself to 3D. You mention the Batman games - these are all fantasic in 3D, and a *must* play. AC3 and AC4 were fixed by the community and look great. Since you mention MMORPG, lots of these look good already (I played Secret World and Marvel Superheroes), but the community also fixed Elder Scrolls Online which looks great. We recently fixed Dragon Age Inquisition, which I think looks great, though there are some 3D "on-off" issues with it as well, but it's 90% stable and more than worth it. FarCry3 and FarCry4 also both look great. I could go on and on, but hopefully others will chime in.
Since you say money is not an issue, you might consider getting a second 970 for SLI (assuming your motherboard supports it). SLI itself has it's own set of issues though (in 2D, let alone 3D) so you might be potentially adding to frustration if you go for both at the same time. However, SLI generally matches very well with 3D Vision as it almost removes the FPS drop from having to create 2 stereo images since one card is used for left image and one for right image.
But the first step is to go out now and buy 3D Vision! Then come back here and you will get lots of help from the rest of us :-)

It is worth it even if you only play one game that really supports it you will be blown away because my god when it works it really works! Also batman games are great for 3d....I also look at it like this you have dropped 95% of the money down that can run 3d great even if that wasn't your goal so the last little bit is a drop in the bucket but damn does it impress! I also didn't build my rig for 3d gaming just wanted 144hz and i stumbled onto 3d and was on fence but said screw it im a game enthusiast its my hobby here is another little bit to see what it is and :) :) :) JUST DO IT! You can always still play in 2d just adds another option that is amazing!
I would also recommend sli if u want all bells and whistles turned on for games in past year to run at max settings for 3d(This is something u can easily do after testing 3d easy to just turn down a few options and decide if those are worth sli :)

I'm also as wild-eyed an enthusiast as you get, so clearly I'm biased in favor of 3D, but damn I've never had any experience as good as 3D Vision when it's dialed up. That includes Rift DK2.
Since you mention Civ5, you would be well served with 3D Vision on that game alone. It looks absolutely fantastic in 3D, and really enhances the play.
Not gonna lie though- it tends to be tweaky and fiddly, so if you just want a smooth out-of-box experience 3D Vision is not that in general. Civ5 and Batman and Tomb Raider are that way, but other games will require some fiddling.
Also try to find a new kit if you can. There are some that have been on the shelves for a long time, and the batteries in the glasses are dead. If it's a physical shop, open them on site and charge them a bit to be sure they come on.

I think guys that you convince me! :) I'm not a big fan of modifications and long setting to play the game at the optimum but if it worth it i would take the time to optimize i guess!
Unfortunatly I thought about a 970 SLI but my motherboard isn't compatible (I didn't thought about SLI when i bought it 3 month ago) anyway, i see there is a big community here and there so i guess i will no be alone if I have issue.
Thanks again to take time to help my decision!
