@all Shader hackers - Please consider following rules when posting fixes on helixmod.blogspot
@all shader hackers:
For adding fix profiles more efficiently in 3D Fix Manager I have a few suggestions all shader hackers should consider please.
When posting new fixes on helixmod.blogspot please provide the following information & consider following:
[.](Relative) path to the game exe[/.]
[.]Name of the game exe[/.]
[s][.]When updating a fix please don't change the download link. Just replace the file - otherwise the download link breaks in 3D Fix Manager or is outdated[/.][/s]
[.]Update: 3D Fix Manager automatically updates the download link and reinstalls the fix since version 1.34 when helix blog is being updated. However this only works when you provide exactly 1 download link to the 3D fix because only then the application knows which is the correct link. So whenever possible please provide only 1 download link as everything is updated automatically then[/.]
That's all :). This would help to add all necessary information to the fix profiles. Thank you.

OK. I'll try to keep that in mind for future updates and fixes. Although it will be a bit weird for versioning files. My latest Skyrim SE fix contains "v7" in the file name because it's the seventh version.

Hmm that's indeed an disadvantage. Maybe you could name outdated fix archive-files v1, v2, v3... and backup them on the server. So only the newest version of the fix has no version number and always keeps its name but you know the current version number must be +1 higher than the latest outdated one.

@Pauldusler: I'm not sure this is going to work. I understand your desire to not have to keep updating things as they change, because there are a lot of games now.
But, being able to manage our fix versions, and keeping a constant name are mutually exclusive goals. For me, it's much more important to know that a fix has a new version, and that people can tell one from the other.
If they are all named the same, then when there are mistakes in a given fix, it becomes a mess to figure out what happened and what the right set of files might be. This is compounded when multiple people are working on the same fix.
Being able to version fixes, even if only by name, is valuable I think.
There are some ShaderHackers who already use your technique, and just replace their older fix with an updated version. That's OK too, as long as it works for them.
Ideally, I really wanted everyone to use GitHub for their fixes, so we could match the history and versions properly, but that didn't happen because for the most part ShaderHackers are just hacking and don't want to spend time keeping things straight. It costs them more time in the long run, but they won't be able to know that without some software experience.
Not versioning files, not using source control, makes it really hard to keep track of a given fix. Like all software, the newest version isn't always the best.
I write this as an apology for not following your rule. I just updated the Shadow of Mordor fix, and changed the file name to reflect that it uses the latest version of 3Dmigoto.
However, I did bump the page to show up on the top of the blog, to show that it has been changed.

Thank you all for providing extra information like game exe and the relative path for the latest fixes :)
@The_Nephilim:
Yes, that's great. I've just added the extra information in the fix profile. This will be shipped with the next update.
@bo3b:
I fully understand you - your method is definitely the best way for keeping track of different versions. I saw that you bumped the page for Shadow of Mordor. So it was no problem to recognize that the download link changed. Is there a way that other shader hackers can bump their thread, too? I did not see a button or something like that for doing this in blogger.

I just change the publish date to something more recent than the latest post. It worked for my BlazBlue CT-CSE-CPE fix. I think I didn't include the exe names in that one, sorry. And it's for three games.

Ah thx. I just tried that and it worked. However I won't bump the blog for every little update - now and then it might be useful for people who did not know / discover the application yet on helixmod.blogspot.
If you have the games still installed it would be cool if you add the missing information please :)

My future Devil May Cry HD Collection fix will also include a separate texture pack download from the same server, and maybe even controller button texture mods. I hope that won't be too much trouble. Sorry.

Ok no problem. I just saw that for Kingdom Come Deliverance there are 2 download links and synchronizing did not work due to this. Second download link in this blog might not be required any more (I just asked Losti in his forum topic). So at least maybe for cases like this the issue could be resolved.
Hmm maybe I could add some filtering for download links or ideally a common naming scheme for download files everyone sticks to would be perfect but I think in practice this could be easily forgotten when uploading a fix.
I think I'll try to filter some download links for next version :).

In the end I have to upload the texture pack to github. Uploading to amazon aws failed multiple times.
So if you can separare github links and amazon aws links, that would be enough for me.
