Quad buffered stereo support with Geforce Am I seriously stuck spending more on Quadro cards forever
Hello,

I am a GIS professional using 3D vision with a Quadro FX3700 card, the 22"samsung, 3D vision package on XP 64 bit. I view stereo imagery for resource management and work in this environment every day. The 3D Vision works great, although I am still using XP and had to get a quadro card to make it work. I want to upgrade to Windows7x64, but am stuck because of the aeroglass feature and no support for quad buffered stereo with geforce.

Why does NVIDIA not support quad buffered stereo with the Geforce line? For the price of a Quadro FX 3700 card, I could purchase 2 GTX 480's and put them in SLI.... This would make the most sense to me as a consumer.

Nvidia only supports quad-buffer OpenGL on their professional line. No technical reason, just money. I don't see them changing this any time soon. Sorry.

Offtopic but can't resist: Nvidia employee's are probably well whipped up as well: Click here!

ps: I know you once could softmod 6800 and 7900's to support quadbuffered software. I don't know if it's still possible today.
