Games Crashing After ~15 Minutes When 3D Vision is Enabled (SOLVED)
  2 / 3
I know that 358.50 had problems with displays running different refresh rates. I experienced the problem and there were several posts in the driver feedback thread mentioning it. 359.00 and 361.43 have not had these problems for me.
We have something in commmon. I was using the EDID mod for my passive tv too. Now connecting at 144Hz to a 3D Vision monitor and everytime I start up a 3d game, it bluescreens as soon as it launches the game. Only running the game again after the crash will make it work. The interesting thing is I never had bluescreens before until I started using this monitor and using the higher refresh rate. I got a bunch of different bluescreen errors, but they only show up when having 3D vision activated in the control panel. So I think we both have some problem with the EDID mod interfering with high refresh rate monitors. If anyone else has the same configurations, let me know.
From what I understand, the EDID mod should not affect it going to a new monitor as that INF file is not loaded if it is not connected. The only other two squirly things I've done in the past have been: Lightboost Hack (2D gaming w/Lightboost enabled) - Uninstalled Windowed Borderless Gaming (an application) - Uninstalled Have you used either one of those as well? I should also note that I still have Teamviewer installed... I need it for work, etc. Its never given me any problems with games before. During testing, I have the application and service shut down.

I did use the lightboost hack to see what it would look like but I believe I used it after it was crashing. I can't be sure right now, since I would need to check event viewer for logs of when that was installed if it even showed up and cross reference with the bluescreens date and time.

I've been able to narrow down ESO's problem to DX9. The Helix mod requires DX9 mode and there's a memory leak I experience with it. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to affect other users so I'm unsure why I have the issue. Removing the Helix mod and restoring DX11 caused ESO to use 2GB in-game versus crashing at 3.6GB. EDIT: Alright, random people experience the problem. Some have DX11 issues fixed by DX9 and vice-versa. EDIT2: The issue with Elite Horizons seems resolved. I was able to play it 45 minutes. 3D Vision seems to push system memory of the game higher. On 1080P at 0.85 Supersampling (downsampling) and FXAA, performance is good while the quality it meh. The 3D however is fantastic (other than an occasional star shader against cockpit). ESO still not fixed. ESO and Windows 10 will not do true full screen mode with the default Nvidia profile. Using the World of Warcraft profile as recommended online allows fullscreen but again, causess the memory leak with the game's INI in DX11 mode. I'm unsure if its a result of fullscreen or DX9 at this point... but DX11 regular profile is stable; just no 3D :(

Now I am puzzled >:<
What is happening is that without any add-ons loaded, etc. On my system I'm at 3.2GB memory usage (physical/virtual) the moment I log into Elden Root on a character. If I'm not in a major city, it lasts a bit longer (upwards of 15 minutes). However in Elden Root, ESO craters in about 15-20 seconds. It seems as players load in, it dies. It isn't caused by the Helix mod. I unloaded it and ran with the DX9 modification in usersettings.ini and the same leak occurred. I should also note that my FPS nosedives in DX9 (80 fps DX11, 45 fps same area, orientation DX9), even in 2D mode. DX11 mode in comparison uses 2GB of memory rather consistently regardless of location. I'm at a bit of a loss and I do have a support ticket and thread on the ESO side. I found a few other GTX 970 users with the same problem. Occurs on newest display driver and the most recent previous release. I'll admit, in the brief times it does run though, the 3D does look amazing. Looking at a treant or just wielding a staff and getting a 'behind the character' angle. Its like its going to poke your eye out :) EDIT: The ESO support site recommends resetting desktop UI DPI to normal. I do remember that it brought over some custom scaling off my Windows 8.1 install. I will report if that resolves the leak. A shot in the dark, but worth a try. EDIT2:
Just FYI, I have Teamviewer installed and it doesn't cause any problems with 3D.
Thanks, I can at least rule that out.

Oo...wasn;t aware of that memory leak! I am still using Windows 7 currently for my 3D Surround setup as Windows 10 has major issues with SLi + 3D Surround... but I did notice the major difference between the Dx9 and DX11 renderer....sadly it has always been so:((( Big thank you for the response! I will take a more in-depth look in the weekend;)

Helifax, let me know if you get the leak in ESO DX9 mode as well. I'm starting to lean toward it being a GTX 970 / Windows 10 combination issue. I tried 3DMitogo on ESO. Without any setting changes, the Beta one I loaded failed to load ESO at all. I don't remember the error, but since I'll be going back/forth with ESO support, I removed it for now to keep it clean. In the meantime, I'm playing around with some other games while I wait for ESO support to get back with me. I loaded the Helix Mod for Fallout 4 and reduced res, etc. Runs and looks great in 3D. I got a bit of a sour taste in my mouth when I read those comments though. People complain about the lack of a crosshair, etc. The Helix guys don't have to do any of that... they choose too... and some people post there like their owed something -.- Mleh. I probably should change the forum topic now to ESO DX9 crashes in 10-15s. It seems just lowering settings a bit increases stability in other games overall by miles. Two games confirmed to run fine now; I feel significantly less retarded! I'm going to check out GTA V again with lowered resolution and shadows with some AA thrown in. Btw, you guys have been awesome with the help and ideas.

I have Windows 10 + GTX 970 and I don't have this problem, FYI.
