I just bought a Viewsonic monitor and 3d Vision about a week ago and it has been a pleasure to join the world of stereoscopic gaming.
However I seem to be encountering some layering issues in many games, the screenshots seem to describe my issue best.
Civilization: The text in the city names jitter around horizontally when I pan the camera and sometimes land in awkward positions.
Supreme Commander: In one eye the glow effect on buildings is offset, while appearing correct in the other eye. This looks quite ugly when zoomed out.
I have also seen similar issues in other games such as Left 4 Dead 2 where the glow effect seen when a teammate is behind a wall (a white outline of their character) is offset horizontally from where they really are. I have also seen some issues in Half Life games such as Team Fortress 2 where the UI elements have their text offset from their background.
I am also experiencing many of the (apparently well known) World of Warcraft issues.
The number of games I'm noticing this horizontal layer displacement issues in makes me wonder if this isn't a driver issue as opposed to artifacts in each game.
Is anyone else having these issues? Or better yet, have a solution?

It is rather discouraging that these issue are appearing in games that are rated excellent. I would understand if this were just an issue of things appearing on the same dimension as the hud.
In the hopes that this is a driver issue I've downgraded to 191.07 using the video drivers that come with the 1.13 cd. This resolved the issues with WoW but Civ, Supreme Commander and Half Life definitely still have the same problems. I've also tried adjusting convergence but it doesn't seem to help.
Here is a screenshot of the same/similar layer displacement issue in Team Fortress 2 and Portal.

I'm afraid this is quite normal for games with effects that have no 3d info and sit at screen depth. I do not have Civ but in the case of SupCom you'll need to off the 'Bloom Effect' in the video settings. Other than the hud pieces your game will be fully 3d then. As you've discovered the Nvidia rating system is rather poor to say the least! Keep the 1.20 drivers on if your setup works with them as it includes profiles for the latest games (Avatar, Dark Void to name a few) if you want to play them,

I will try to look into this. Can you tell me which Civ game you are using?
We can't fix your bug if we can't reproduce it. Please provide as much details as possible including specs, steps to reproduce, graphics settings used, etc..

Thanks Lumpeh! Indeed turning off bloom in Supreme Commander got rid of the issue with seeing doubles in one eye. While I miss the pulsing glow of building construction, that makes gameplay totally acceptable.
Manuel: I just installed the latest plain version of Civilization IV from steam. If you think installing the expansions will fix the issue I'd be happy to give it a shot, I plan on using them when I actually play anyway. This issue is noticed most frequently when leaving a city- double click on a city to enter, leave the city (esc, I believe) and pan around. Edit:Thanks for the reply!
I've since been unable to recreate any issues I was having with Left 4 Dead 2. Other games I've played have had no problems like, Borderlands, Empire: Total War, Torchlight, WoW (with the old driver). Perhaps I was hasty to blame this on drivers, I may just be seeing more application generated artifacts than I was expecting.
Either way I'm still very happy with the performance of my 3D Vision glasses.
Edit: Here are the Team Fortress 2 and Portal screens I somehow missed in the last post.
As you can see in Team Fortress pic, not only is the text/data layer offset from the window's background, the highlight on the top entry is also shifted out of place in only 1 eye (the gap is in a different spot).
