nVidia about to announce VR (3D Vision?) enhancements for GTX 980 and 970

While the price points and power usage are fairly impressive after looking at a few performance reviews I'm very underwhelmed with the new 9xx series. If I were still on Fermi (or older) hardware this might be an interesting upgrade however Nvidia seemingly has taken a page from the CPU vendors playbook and just delivered something that costs less and uses less power while giving marginal gains in performance. Maybe there's "3DVisionPRO" hardware and a Barko projector in my future.

Meh, I'm sticking with my 690 until I finally jump on the VR bandwagon - and that'll be after the O.R. has been fully developed and hit the commercial market,... AND we see Nvidia actually make some sort of commitment to the future of 3D. For now I remain skeptical like most of you.
