Pretty sure we're on the same page... the eye sync 'issue' with ID Tech games using Helifax's OpenGL wrapper is that they locked FPS to 60 FPS, Rage, Wolfenstein, etc. 30 FPS per eye, opposed to the 60 we're used to. He's done a good job of dealing with it with his newer alternative method of delivering frames but that's all he can really do on this end, they need to unlock the FPS on their end like they are with Doom.

PC gaming is in our DNA here at id.
In particular we got a lot of feedback from the PC community with regards to capped framerates, monitor support, multi-monitor support and other PC features that weren’t emphasized in the Beta for various development reasons. So to clarify: At launch the PC framerate will not be capped. Further, the PC version of DOOM will expose a comprehensive set of advanced game and rendering options that will allow players to dial the experience up or down based on their individual desires or hardware capabilities
We also know many of you are interested in some deeper insight into the types of fundamental changes we’ve made to our engine technology over the last few years. In the coming weeks, we’ll be giving you an inside look at idTech 6 engine architecture, our rendering pipeline, our customization tech and other initiatives we have underway to broaden our minimum PC spec even further than our current expectations.
Our current expected PC advanced settings include:
•Manually Lock Framerate (un-locked by default)
•Lights Quality
•Chromatic Aberration Toggle
•Shading Quality
•Post Process Quality
•Particles Quality
•Game F/X Quality
•Decal Quality
•Directional Occlusion
•Reflections Quality
•Depth of Field Toggle
•Decal / Texture Filtering
•Motion Blur Quality / Toggle
•Sharpening Amount
•Lens Flare Toggle
•Lens Dirt Toggle
•Texture Atlas Size
•Show Performance Metrics
•Resolution Scaling
•UI Opacity
•Film Grain
•Rendering Mode
•FOV Slider
•Simple Reticle
•Show First-person Hands Toggle
•Use Compute Shaders
•Vsync (support or triple buffering)

Nice! Film Grain... woohoo! So much better than that gimmicky 3D. Lol... [s]although I am quite curious what Rendering Mode might actually be referring to...[/s] edit: not as curious anymore... :)

It's OpenGL.
I already had my wrapper working on it, but no stereo separation 'cause I didn't get through the trouble of doing it. It was a beta anyway. Until the full release gets out there isn't any real point;)
In any case, I already know how their engine works and what corrections I need to do (if they didn't change it too much). So, is definitely doable;)

Looks solid. I like in your face no cover/high octane FPS style [favorite fps's are bulletstorm/singularity]. Not sure why anyone would hate on it its as true to roots as possible in this day in age.
I really like that they added unlocking/runes. Im sure a diehard will dislike it but its just flavor and if you decide to replay game really adds something nice. I cant think of a single FPS in last 10 years that I regard highly that hasnt at least had some RPG mechanics.
I kind of wish they were focusing on modding rather then MP. Apparently the modding from E3 was just hype talk and its tame... I'll stil buy it but it would of been great. People still make mods of original dooms.

I can get past the RPG elements, upgrading stuff... it can work but did they have to make it so damn bright and colorful? The game looks so intense and vicseral, tearing through demon flesh and then they explode into cute bright little collectable + symbols(among other things)... Lol, really? What's wrong with just having them explode into collectable gibs?
That and the dumb outline when they go into stun-lock... just makes it feel/look dumbed down, arcade-ish and loses any serious horror vibe it may have had. I sure hope there's an option to turn all that crap off, it really takes away the realism of the hellish creatures, environments and atmosphere that they have created.
Edit: watched a different SP gameplay vid that didn't really have stuff popping out of them, it did have the stun lock but I can live with that... guessing the runes make crap pop out of them when you kill them, that's not as bad I guess either... optional as well.

Well..the "plain old boring" Doom will not appeal to alot of new gamers :( They had to do something for the "older" and "younger" gamers in order to "satisfy" both parties;) To be frank, I loved the original Dooms and played them around '95 year but the "new horror" approach on Doom3 never actually make me jump up like the old Dooms have;) If I think about it....it all started with Doom64 (Nintendo 64)...
In any case...looks solid and I will definitely have a BLAST in the game;)) (in 3D Vision ofcouse after we fix it ^_^)

This finally shows the engine is NOT capped at stupid 60 FPS.
This was on Vulkan API and NOT OpenGL or DX.

It's like sitting in the corner on timeout, it's by no means open and immersive like 3D is. That said, you can have both... 3D Vision across 3 Monitors or Projectors... so win win for 3D Vision.
