Seeing how I cant really contribute making a fix for a game I was wondering if I can do something else to improve the state of our community fixes.
What I could do would be to design (maybe even develop although I would have to cover the costs of that so if there are people able to do so within the community I would use a help with it) the community site for 3dmigoto.
Here is the preview of something I had in mind for list of fixed games:

and here is the page for a specific game (those only differ with the game-picture used within):

I would also be able to host the site as well as all the fixes.

It's a very friendly design, looks professional, more easy to use, I love it.
But, the actual site is still quite functional, i'm used to deal with it.
So you decide, the play.
That's a really nice mockup, and I like the idea.
I have a few questions/thoughts though.
-There are easily over 100 fixes on the blog, and the formatting for the writeups on each one is not standardised. Therefore, automating the process to move all the information over would be difficult or impossible (I imagine). How would you handle the data migration? Manually?
-A lot of the comment threads on the blog contain valuable information for resolving problems, fixing performance issues, getting fixes working on specific configurations, etc. Would it be possible to bring those over in a redesign?
-I'd feel more comfortable having the site hosted somewhere independent if possible, perhaps Amazon. That way if you get hit by a car next week, there's no risk of losing everyone's fixes and hard work
-Blogspot makes it simple to post new fixes. Would you be able to create a backend interface to allow new fixes to be posted easily? I feel it's also important to have tiered levels of access, so we could have admin users with access to edit any posts, and "normal" shaderhackers only able to edit their own.
-Are you confident in your ability to design the site in a relatively secure manner? Quite a lot of people visit/use helixmod fixes, so I'd think we'd need any new site to be fairly protected against attacks.
-I feel like we'd need Helix to be okay with his fixes/work being moved to a new location. 3DMigoto isn't as much of an issue as it's open source and the main developers are active on the forums, but I don't know if we could move Helixmod-dependent fixes without Helix's approval.
-Love the idea of linking to both the forum thread and the original helixmod blog page. This could be a workaround for the comment thread issue, though it would be much better if those can be brought over so people don't have to look in 3 locations (new site, old site, forum) before they find what they're looking for
-Having a "tip jar" section on each fix seems like a reasonable idea to me. Individual fixers could decide whether to put a link to their paypal/patreons if they wanted, and there could possibly be a "community" tip jar to put towards site hosting costs.
