How to fix/disable shaders in games(DLL,guide and fixes).

Alpha Protocol
Game looked pretty good in 3d vision.(Unreal Engine mmm) Just made one small fix that. Light passing through glass causes a wierd image in 3d. Its gone.
extract override and release to:
alpha protocol/binaries/shaderoverride/
alpha protocol/binaries/d3d9.dll
http://helixmod.wikispot.org/
If you have a request of a game (thats not too messed up) go ahead and make it. Plan to do next game on saturday.
Or its very simple to do yourself just follow instructions of first post.

Well I cant really test this one more then I did.... Everytime I exit I lose my settings/saves..
There was some shadowing error and halos in game. The shadows are removed and the halos are gone. However I had to kill some lighting. This one is up to the user to decide if they like more. I tried to find a better compromise but exiting and entering game 10 times and having to get past 5 min intro is a pain. If you want just shadows removed, you will have to figure out which files to delete in shaderoverride through process of elimination since my game is screwed up and took me A LOT longer then it should of.
Extract both zips to main folder.
darkness II/d3d9.dll
darkness II/shaderoverride/
http://helixmod.wikispot.org/
Let me know of any Issues since I couldnt test this one too well.
Sorry mate, your modifications just made it worse. This is like 10min into the game.

Well the problem of Dead Space crashing after launch the game was caused because i use MSI afterburner to show FPS's. Disabled the on screen display and it works. Thanks!

Otherwise this could be a way to make different presets for depth and convergence for different game situations (cutscenes, ego- or 3rd person perspective, etc.). iZ3D drivers already offer this very useful functionality.
I'm also thinking about games profiles which can be changed by hot-keys in game.

I even couldn't find and select some shaders with iZ3D that I could identify with 3DVision...
I think it happens because iZ3D modify shaders before call CreateShader function, that's why you're getting other CRC's for same shaders.

BTW disabling a shader with the debug-dll while running the game can cause strange effects. Nevertheless try to disable the shader using a txt file in the override folder and restart the game. Disabling the vertex shader responsible for the dynamic shadows in Winter Sports using the hotkeys resultet in a messed up image. But disabling the same shader with a file in the override folder and restarting the game removed the shadows without issues.

Fixed in current version.

Good to know that you found what caused this error.
Does your steam version of DeadScapce work correct with the fix(shadows, lights. All settings should ne on instead of flares) ?
I have X3, will check it later.
@All:
DLL's updated(fixed few bugs).
Added fix to "Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning":
- remove halos around around water/effects/fire;
- Fixed highlighted items;
- lights are fixed;
- Fixed water reflection
- optional 3D HUD;
read my second post from the beginning.
I'm planning to make some guide about shaders fixing this weekend as promised.

If someone can change the hotkeys so they work with a keyboard that doesn't have a numpad, i'd try and fix a few games. I can't make sense of the directions to change them.

Really looking forward to this and thanks again for the updates!
I am having some problems with Dead Space though. I was able to get the Steam version working by completely disabling AfterBurner, but it doesn't seem as if the shader overrides are working. I dropped the override folder into DS directory and dropped release dll there too (also tried debug) but there was still a halo around Isaac and some lights were off or only rendered in one light.

Thanks for looking into this. Its probably an issue with Steam version disregarding your override, I recall similar issues with previous attempts to use wrappers with Steam. The debugger does work, but it doesn't seem like the shader overrides are working with either debug or release dll. I looked at the log file and it seems as if the shaders are being read, but for some reason its designating F: when my Steam directory is at D:\. Not sure if that's the problem or not.

"F: " means file name , I'm too lazy sometime to write full description :)
By your log i see that all files from override directory found, but shader crc's from your version of the game doesn't match with mine.
Do you have iZ3D driver or others DirecX wrappers/programs ?
Could you attach "Dumps\AllShaders"(whole folder with all shaders) I'll take a look at shaders from your version of the game ?

Well I cant really test this one more then I did.... Everytime I exit I lose my settings/saves..

I've removed shadows from PES 2012, It was unplayable... now it's awesome!
There is the zip file with the dll (the release one), just unzip on the same folder as pes2012.exe and play!
Be careful with online game...
PS: Added to the wiki
