well I ended up taking the samsung back and purchasing the 65 inch mitsubishi WD 65837 dlp. All I can say is WOW! Guys, get ready for this statement... ABSOLUTELY NO GHOSTING AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It doesn't matter what depth I use or what convergence, there is no ghosting on this TV. Everything is perfect except a couple of things. The tv seems to fit the 1080p signal correctly ... in other words its like the picture is zoomed in and I can't see the start button... also seems to have spots that are not quite 100% focused, but I assume that's because the resolution is being stretched... Will keep you updated! Boy have I been missing out!
Grid 30 minutes of S3D... then .. black screen game not responding...
This is becoming more than annoying...
Blue ghosting on entire screen.... magenta also... game crashing... wtf is this ?!?!
Can't believe I spent my money on this kit...

Umm, if you're seeing blue & magenta ghosting are you sure you're not playing in Anaglyph mode?? That would be a problem if you're using 3d Vision shutter-glasses. /ermm.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ermm:' />

Think I got a cracked pair of glasses...or the IR emitter is defective.
At 100% depth ... I tried 120Hz test ... the image tries to converge but after 3 seconds the top of the screen ghosts
Switched to 60 Hz ... during 3 seconds I get perfect image and 3 flickers after which the top of the screen ghosts again
Switched to 120 Hz ...during 3 seconds I get perfect image and 3 flickers after which the top of the screen ghosts again

Can anybody who has ghosting problems try this... refresh switch...

x_phir3 can you explain your test a bit more please, I'd like to try this out when I get home:

by 120hz test do you mean the medical test in the set up process? Or the nvidia logo loop?

How did you switch to 60hz? I thought shutter glasses would only work at or over 100hz.

Let me know cuase I want to try this out.

I meant the NVIDIA logo test.
I set the Depth to 100%
Hit Test buton and a popup comes out with some settings display resolution refresh rates... 60 100 110 120 hz
Then test all refresh rates :)
I get a 3D image for 3 seconds... and 3 flickers and then the top doubles...
But the color ghosting it is still present... I mean I can see blue and magenta ghosting on entire screen
We also got a Samsung PS50B450 (PN50B450 in U.S.) with 3Dvision.

Severe ghosting with the nVidia 3D photo samples,
but NO GHOSTING in "nVidia stereoscopic 3D video player" playing our adult stereoscopic videos!
So it can not be the TVs fault.

By the way it does 60Hz per eye = 120Hz!!

I will check the 3D settings and try gaming today.
I think you didn't pay too much attention to the ghosting while playing ... adult videos :P
Ghosting can be better seen while playing a 3D game or watching photos. ;)

PS50B450 no ghosting most games and movies, ghosting appears media dependent.

That is true!
I just can not figure out what it depends on. My first guess is high contrast parts at extreme close-ups or far-aways.
I played Spiderman3 for a few minutes and noticed that only the lights in the background appear doubled (="ghosting").

The only ghosting in our member videos I found on the PS50B450 was a dark flower pot next to a white floor far behind the lady.
I have not noticed this on our other 3D viewing options. (YES, I do concentrate on my work when viewing our 3D content several times /stud.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':stud:' />)

BTW anyone got a DLP 3D TV from Samsung or Mitsubishi with 3Dvision?
They are meant to have no ghosting at all...

I have a PC with both Vista64 and Win7 and i get two different problems on each one, using the same drivers...

On windows 7, i get the double image on the top 20% of the screen of so, as mentioned before, gradually blending onto one as we look down the screen. However, on windows vista the image seems perfect, but they don't work all the time. Let's say they work for something like 1.5 seconds, then they stop working for like 0.2 or 0.3 seconds, then they work again for 1.5 seconds... etc etc. (these timings aren't accurate, but it's just to explain the idea). The failures aren't random, though, the timing is always the same.

I've had the same problems with both drivers version 1.09, 1.10 and 1.11, if i'm not mistaken.

I tried this using a 9800GT and a GTX285, and the result was exactlly the same on both. The double image problem seems to be easyly fixed by tweaking the timings on the hardware, so it's really bad that this has been a problem for some monts already and there is no solution in sight yet.

This is really frustrating and i don't play any games because of it, still waiting for some solution or at least some comment on NVidia about it.
