Borderlands has "hiccups" when doing 3d...anyone else?
  1 / 2
Hi!
I just tried it and it pauses every so often like hiccups.
I lowered all the details and still does the same, it does not happen during non 3d viewing though.
Only game so far to do this.
Anyone else?

I am running Windows 7 64bit, GTX 295 , 4GB DDR3, Phenom II 720 (4 cores 3.6 Ghz).
I Neither is been handicapped by the gear but I am going to try running single card even though without 3d there is no problem

try this, at the beginning there some areas you can look at that do not cause this skipping issue...weird.

I'm assuming it's a yes but are your drivers up to date? It could be a W7 problem, as I'm running Vista 64 and I have no problems. There was a hiccup problem before I lowered a few more settings (I turned off depth of field), but now it's fine and very smooth at great settings.

I remember what Andrew said about Borderlands:

In the past few months we have seen our developer relations team work with developers to make Batman: Arkham Asylum and Resident Evil 5 look incredible in 3D. And we are excited now to see new titles that are coming – such as Borderlands, Bioshock 2, and Avatar – that should all look incredible in 3D. -Andrew Fear

He didn't specifically say Borderlands would be a "3D Ready" game, but he did say it would look "incredible" which is a far cry from the "Good" rating it currently is bestowed. I'm also crossing my fingers for a big update soon.

Well there are a lot of snafu's about borderlands. I've hoped they made the GUI 3d, but it's still an 2D overlay ;( Also it stutters like hell, and thats on an GTX 285 with 2 quad core Xeons and 16 GB. The game is cleary developed with consoles in mind, because there is no mouse smoothing; mouse movements feel jaggy.

Andrew comments are pure PR. That's for sure. I'm dissapointed.

I have tried another approach, renamed COD4.exe to Borderlands.exe and it runs with best 3D effect, super smooth, no hiccups of any kind. /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Funny, I just realized that after renaming I cannot move with the keyboard only with the 360 pad which sucks.
I can look and shoot with the mouse though...very strange.

Yeah, try it, the skip will go away but maybe you will get my same issue of not being able to move.
I got the problem under Vista 64 too.

I decided to just wait for the patch.

Yeah there is a definite problem with it. Game runs perfect without 3D being turned on. I turn it on and the game crashes, and hiccups until it crashes. A friend of mine has the same problem. It's not Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, because the game runs fine on my computer. Need to put in a fix for this in the next drivers. I hope they do because this game is awesome.

I found a way to get rid of the hiccups, at least for me.

Turn off the 3D crosshair which is on by default. CTRL+F12

Doing this made the game run a solid 60fps without any hiccups.

Hope this helped.
