I've been using the 3D vision for about a year. Several months ago, a funny thing happened. After months of not using the emitter, I plugged it in, and it blinked red. I hadn't seen that before. Needless to say, it wasn't working. I turned off the system and turned it back on- it didn't help. I unplugged the emitter and plugged it back in. I couldn't find any similar problem posted on-line.
Then I simply plugged the IR emitter into a different USB slot, and it was good as new. I played Left for dead 2 for a few days... then life came back and I unplugged it from the system.
Today I plugged the emitter back in to watch a 3D movie. The on/off button was green. All good, I thought. I put on my glasses and turned on the movie- 3D was off. I went to the 3D setup, and it wasn't recognizing the emitter. I looked at the emitter- the on/off button was no longer lit up. I unplugged it and plugged it back in. Green light. After like 10 seconds, the light went out. I plugged it back in, same thing. I push the button, but nothing happens. After 10 seconds the light goes out every time. The setup does not recognize the emitter, but windows seems to try and install software for it.
Is the Emitter broken?
I am running Win 7 64b, 4G RAM, Phenom 2x4 965 black, Monitor is Viewsonic VX2286
THANKS!

I uninstall the driver under "universal Serial Bus controllers... The light on the on/off button turns green again (but it doesn't work). I reinstall the driver (windows searches and installs it), and the light turns green and then turns off again as before. And of course it doesn't work, and the driver is again listed under universal serial bus controllers again.

Yeah, that was the first thing I tried. It's strange that the light goes completely out. Pushing the button doesn't seem to do anything. reinstalling the driver doesn't seem to do anything. But when I un-install the driver, the green light magically turns back on (although the emitter is still not recognized).

The power light on the back of the emitter turns off just like the button of the front... Is the USB power connection shutting off once the emitter is recognized by the system????
