Well the anaglyph works better and FSX dosent crash aymore but combat 3 crashes to the desktop still and like most other people that tried with shutters ,,,,well dont work yet. seems that it doesnt activate the IR transmiter??
But this is the beta and fixes are needed and we now have hope.

I tried the same, 1.09 iz3d drivers, CRT monitor, 8800 gtx and my edimensional shutter glasses, but the glasses weren't active. I then found 'e-d activator' from the edimensional website, and you can turn on the glasses using this.

http://edimensional.com/support_updates.php

With it set to 'page flip', I got reasonable 3d in half-life 2, with a bit of jumping, and 3d but more flickery in Titan Quest. That's all I've got round to testing so far, it's late!

I think the 'e-d activator' software takes the refresh rate from your desktop, so when I get some time I'll get the refresh rates increased and synched and give it another run. It seems to be the best 3d I've got since I had an 8800 (18 months +...) :D

Actually, after trying a bit more, I realised the flicking is actually quite bad. I think the glasses flash at the same speed, whether or not your fps keeps up with it. If the two don't agree, everything jumps around. I'd be interested to see what results other people get...

I agree (using a 8800GTS) but try the interlaced mode with E-D Activator doing line-blanking.
It works pretty good because sync is less important. I think the resolution is OK if it's at least
800x600 even though you lose half the vertical detail. The problem with this style of s3d is that
it darkens the display too much sometimes. It depends on the game.

The 10-beta-3 driver has an extra output style: side-by-side with an over/under option. So if you
know that your monitor can do 120 Hz, set your desktop and game if needed to 60 Hz, then use the
E-D Activator in sync-doubling (over/under) mode. It looks bad at first but start a game that you
already know works with the iZ3D driver and try it out. Remember that Ctl-F8 swaps eyes if you need it.
Most likely there will be too much vertical misalignment. I don't yet know if there's a solution for that.
If you're lucky it will look good. It depends on your monitor. Use this at your own risk. I don't really know
if the odd mode will hurt your monitor (must be old style CRT). What happens is the E-D Activator makes
2 vertical sweeps out of each one so if you start with 1024x768x60Hz mode, then that turns into
1024x384x120Hz, but that 384 that used to cover the top or bottom half of the screen is now spread
over the entire screen. It sounds odd and it is odd but it can be good if you're lucky and the vertical
misalignment is not too bad. It's just another s3d option for some of you.

It's nice to have another s3d option but you should know it's just a free trial, then you have to pay $50 to
license it. It does work with Prince of Persia (2008) though when nvidia's s3d driver does not, so that's
one for iZ3D. At least on my setup (winXP-8800GTS).

good luck all.

Prince of Persia (2008) works perfectly for me using 3DVision and the 1.04 and 1.05 Beta drivers, although thats with NVIDIA's shutter glasses and the Samsung 120Hz monitor. Not sure how it works using Anaglyph or 3rd party shutter glasses.

It's nice to hear that nvidia got that game working with their new 3d system but it's too bad us old-schoolers are left out.
Also I want to clarify that for my setup, Prince of Persia (2008) doesn't play well using iZ3D's shutterglass mode because
of sync-loss. It does play well using other modes like interlaced or dual-projector or mirrored monitor mode.

The advantage iZ3D has in many games is that they often have good on-screen-data in 2d (at screen-depth) while nvidia's driver
has a 3d OSD and it can be off-screen after you adjust the 3d settengs. It depends on the game. Yes, many games have a good
HUD with nvidia's drivers but many do not.

My setup:
WinXP-SP3, 32bit single-processor mode
3600 AMD64 X2 CPU
1GB RAM
GeForce 7800GTX 256MB or sometimes GeForce 8800GTS 640MB
old-school E-D shutter glasses with either a CRT monitor or DLP projector (viewsonic-PJ503D)

Riddle:
Q: When is on-screen-data not on-screen-data?
A: When it's off-screen-data.
