Hi Nutz,
I'll have to play around and give you some feedback on GTA5. I'm the same as you in that the performance generally is what I would call 'fair' and I don't seem to get any dropouts or bugs at all.
It does sound like you're getting better framerates than me, although of course it does depend on the scene.
I'll see what Afterburner says!

Gigabyte RTX2080TI Gaming OC, I7-6700k ~ 4.4Ghz, 3x BenQ XL2420T, BenQ TK800, LG 55EG960V (3D OLED), Samsung 850 EVO SSD, Crucial M4 SSD, 3D vision kit, Xpand x104 glasses, Corsair HX1000i, Win 10 pro 64/Win 7 64https://www.3dmark.com/fs/9529310
hmmm I got a really weird behaviour while using the fix. Without the fix I have the out of memory message but alt+enter works and the game proceed to generate well.
When I copy the fix (hook/no-hook version) I have pretty much everything rendered wrong, with main character having the model split off, the 3d is constantly dropping off and it looks like it was CM instead of real3d at times, cant really play it at all.
Im using w10 (last time I checked I was at w7 and it was all fine), with 368.22 drivers.

what the actual fuck I turned 3d off by accident and I noticed that I have those things displaced in 2d :) I was playing aroudn with vorpx earlier so I might broke something myself...
as for the performance on the exact same settings I have around 30 with 3d vision enabled but when I disable it im getting 90-110... so yeah still an issue, although game feels surprisingly responsive for such a low framerates.

Does anybody run this game on I7 6700K or something close to that (like 5Ghz cpu) and can confirm that there is no bottleneck on this ?
I wanna see which cpu can manage with this game and stop blocking gpu. I`ve seen post about the difference between 6 core and 8 core processor where they confirmed that there is no issues with core limitation. I just tested on my 4 physical compare to 8 HT and didn`t see much difference but I am running very old I7 at 4Ghz so I might be way below necessary.

I just ran a benchmark on the game my current hardware is I7-6700K and 1080 GTX upgrade there is only 15% difference in the benchmarks.
My old hardware was I7-4790K and a titan-x.

Are you getting 100% gpu usage or close to that ?

On the average 45% GPU usage measured with After Burner version 4.3 beta 4
My cpu is overclocked 4.6 GHZ
This is the weirdest shit ever. Either game have messed up cpu / gpu management or software doesn`t show properly.
If cpu was real blocker then I wouldn't be able to increase fps by tweaking GPU and that is not the case because I get performance increase when I play with GPU clock.
Thanks Zig.

The problem with this game is that it does not use more than 3 cores, ever. So, multi-core CPUs don't matter at all, the only thing that matters is clock speed.
Previously we thought this was 3D Vision driver related, but I'm less sure of that, I think this is a bug in GTA5 itself. They use Direct Mode 3D, not Automatic Mode, so they are in charge of how 3D is running.
The game is definitely CPU limited, but only in 3D. No 2D results are valid for testing this.
The reason the GPU can have an effect is because the pipeline is stalled waiting for more commands from the CPU. If you change the rendering technique to reduce the number of commands, that will give you a speedup on the same CPU.
The thing that impacts that the most is draw distance, and complexity of the environment. If you reduce the variety of humans for example, you get a much bigger bump than you'd expect.
Stuff like texture quality matters not at all, because it does not translate into more GPU commands, just more data to transfer.
Do you think the 3D is gonna work with any of the mods like https://www.gta5redux.com/news/release-date-trailer/
Might work. Doesn't seem like they do much in terms of shader modifications, so as long as they don't touch the shaders, it won't break the 3D.
If you are interested in this mod, it wouldn't hurt to bring it up with them.
I haven't contributed to this thread in a long time.
CM or forced StereoAutomatic mode should bypass the 3 core limit to make the game "playable" in 3D.
Are either of these a realistic option?

what do you ment "playable" ?
Isnt the 3 core limit just limiting cpu @75% ?
and it´s playable if you got the hardware for it :D atleas RAGEdemon should have it running this mod in fullglory with those rockets

I honest think the game is messed up and it is a shame it is one of the better playing games.
