Not sure what he's talking about, there isn't an option. Skyrim will use whatever speaker configuration is set in your system control panel.

Yes but during combat?

btw you can also keybind weapons & spells, open favorites menu, select the spell/weapon and press 1 till 8.. makes it much easier to dualwield spells

I dont know why but if I play this for any length of time I start to feel nauseous. I have adjusted the deph and the convergence but it still takes me to barf city. Fallout did exactly the same so it must be something to do with the engine
[/quote]

Do you easily get motion sickness? It's probably the FOV. It's by default 65 as a compromise between realism and the ridiculously high FOV people are used to from shooters, but can easily be jacked up in the console by hitting ~, and then typing:

FOV #

...where # is the FOV you want. Increase by increments of 5 to see if it helps.

What FOV etc are people running this at then? I currently have default FOV (65?), depth at 70 and convergence increased so my shield is alsmost touching the screen.
Considering increasing fov to 85 or so.

Well, IIRC, the human vision FOV is over 90 degrees wide, over 100 even i think. the reason it looks weird on a display is that its all presented in a small part of your vision. sitting close to a large screen, and filling more of your view with it, makes it better but ideally screens would wrap around us to make full use of peripheral vision.

But i use FOV 90 for the most comfortable setting in this game, in some other i use 100-110.

this 65 degrees being the default FOV in every damn first person game these days is really annoying, but at least most games make it easy to change the values. although, some games arent so easy to change the FOV, and it completely ruins the game experience imo. like borderlands, i loved the gameplay (especially with a few friends), but the default fov was like 50 or so, REALLY made me sick. it was like walking around with 2x binoculars strapped to your face, and they would zoom in to 4x every time you hit sprint. /bloated.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':X' />

FOV doesn't work. It won't stick. You will break it in several scenarios. One is to go to the map and zoom in. Or if you go to the Skills and zoom in to pick Perks. Or it can break going from 1st to 3rd.

We need a fix for this.

Try this one:

1- Go to C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\My Games\Skyrim
2- Open SkyrimPrefs.ini, and search for [General] section
3- Add fdefaultfov=XX at the end of the section. (where XX is the FOV value you want to change to). For example add fdefaultfov=90
4- Open Skyrim.ini, and search for [Display] section
5- Add fDefaultWorldFOV=XX (where XX is the FOV value you put in fdefaultfov)
6- Add fDefault1stPersonFOV=xx.0000 (where XX is the FOV value you put in fdefaultfov)
