I am following this forum since a couple of months now and was really waiting that 3dtvplay is being released like all of you guys. I downloaded it a few days ago and the games really work great which I tried (WoW Cata and CoD). I would like to know now if there is also a possibility to let windows 7 run in 3D and normal photos and videos. So if the graphic card (GTX460) could convert the files?
A further question is if nvidia is planning to support 1920x1080 60hz in 3d. It only works in 24hz up to now.

Use the NVIDIA 3D Vision Video Player and 3D Vision Photo viewer that came with the drivers. Look at your progam menu->NVidia->3D Vision

Ok will try later n see if it's working. Thanks

I reread you post and you seem to mention convert normal photos and videos, so do you mean 2D->3D conversion? That is not possible with NVidias own software. Latest PowerDVD has the conversion and some 3DTV's has this built it. The end result is not as good as proper original 3D material. So don't get your expectations up.

Someone needs to sticky the answer to this question.
No it's a hardware limitation of TV sets, when the standards bodies decided to adopt HDMI1.4a, they settled on two primary stereo maodes 1280x720P@50/60Hz and 1920x1080@24Hz, all of the existing chipsets that decode HDMI inside the TV's are incapable of decoding a stereo signal of 1920x1080@60Hz.
Some sets also support legacy checkerboard modes which are about the same number of unique pixels as the 720P modes, but probably scale better for 1080P sets.
What I'm not clear on is whether there is also a bandwidth limitation on the existing physical connections that would require a different cable to use 1920x1080@60Hz.
Since high res/high refresh rates only really come into play with gaming, the only manufacturer with any real reason to push high resolution high refresh rates for stereo 3D is Sony, but I don't see them doing it on the short term.

I use a program called 2Dto3D RedBlue Converter v2.5 for my picture conversion from 2d to 3d. Its not free although if you just click ok or cancel on the registration pop up the program will work anyway.
It will convert any 2D pic to Left and Right images as well as a single Red/Blue image. I then take screen shots of each left and right image with ScreenHunter 5.1 and put them side by side in MS Paint. Then save the file as *.jps
Now you can open it with Nvidia Photo Viewer... Like the other poster said its not as great as real 3d image but it works.
