Nvidia really ought to 'crowd-source' the ratings system somehow. Many of their profiles are outdated or even don't load up for the correct game. Ultimately we are still a niche within a niche and i don't expect any future investment outside some kind of '3D+!!!' feature with a new GPU to sell.

Im starting a log of games I play. Only as of three days ago and have a backlog of some games written down I need to go through. Id give access to anyone writing in same format[Which I doubt many will be willing to do. Its a lot of work] or link if not.

I'd argue that they are more than likely, people who aren't nerds for the most part are not going to spend $1000 on video cards.
I wouldn't equate epenny size with nerdiness. I've met my share of clueless multi-Titan owners online...
as fot the topic, yes, Nvidia 3D vision game rating is a mess, but demanding Nvidia to do anything remotely decent to 3D vision is more than a losing cause.
and yes, anyone who bought Nvidia 3D products should know who Helix is and prepares to tweak his/her way to enjoy 3D gaming.

It is definitely in their best interest to know how to go about applying fixes and to the most part it is a joy to do so. (There is certainly a strong community.)
Unfortunately the abovementioned community fixes are not advertised on the box the 3D kit comes in. You have to look for it. You also have to know you can look for it.
I have posted a similar thread topic asking nVidia to clean up their disgraceful act when it comes to dodgy ratings.
I bought the kit after reading a review where 3D Vision got a low 70s/100 score. The article explained (briefly) the basics of how 3D Vision worked. I understood some games worked some didn't, I also saw Christmas Carol 3D so I know the essential lossless visual quality of S3D. As a result I get it is not nVidia's fault that some games work and some don't
nVidia started lying about the 3D quality of games around the time Crysis 2 came out. Case in point Borderlands 2; without Helix, Borderlands 2 looks worse and is far harder to play in 3D than 2D. I think this is morally wrong. When does it become a breach of advertisment?

^I wrote ramblings so I don't get every other post correcting my grammar lol [Admittedly ****** writer]. Thats always fun.
Not to mention, Im trying to not have people flipping out when I give bad reviews to games that I really find mediocre in 3D. Im trying to do compatibility primarily, athestics secondarily. I kind of refuse to give games like Tomb Raider, Trine 2 same 3D ratings as Max Payne 3, Duke Nukem Forever. Ill give explanation when I come to them.

Nvidia won't waste their time and energy helping out 3D vision gamers and giving credit to PC community; they just want to cash in on the few early 3D ready titles (Batman AC, Metro 2033...) and Helix and co's effort.
it's a sneaky but proven successful direct marketing tactic: get your product out with initial assurance of quality, then stop any product support and concentrate on selling the products, using any advertising method possible…like promote 3d vision with a game that they themselves rate as “not recommended”…

I suppose that if anyone with a Nvidia card and a display capable of displaying a 3D image could try gaming in 3D there might be a larger audience and more of a market. However, with the silly restrictions on monitor/model/mfg and the requirement for a 3DPlay 'license' Nvidia was not really 'fishing' with a large enough net to capture a big audience to begin with.
Toss in a few titles that Nvidia partnered in the development and paid for 'TWIMTBP' with 3DVision support that upon release were unplayable its easy to see why Nvidia has stopped wasting marketing dollars promoting the technology.
As far as 'epenny size = nerdiness' goes, there are still a handful of geniuses in the Steam Tomb Raider user forums that are patiently waiting for a Nvidia fix. (one user has a +5000$ 4.8GHZ GTX690SLI rig that can't run the game at all - it just crashes)
While having greater than average number of cells functioning can lead to higher purchasing power, having high purchasing power clearly does not always equate to the number of functioning cells commanding that power.
