this seems pretty encouraging, seems like a lot of people are not letting the graphics bother them and are just enjoying the presence VR brings. I was tempted to get into VR but thought i'd leave it until things develop a bit, I think the screen door and stuff would bother me. but have to say write ups like this get me tempted to try it out properly. I still dont how fallout 4 will run though!

When I tried the HTC Vive I noticed the low resolution. But I come from a 1440p monitor... Still, head tracking and body positioning was great. I want VR in my life, when there are better headsets.

Its I think DOA when its price is DOUBLE the going price of current VR devices. Reason why PSVR was such a huge success was that it started at a low price point. Rift is now at same price as PSVR but people would rather buy it due to how positive everyone has been about it since day-1. Tbh, I see alot of these manufacturers of VR related devices as trying to get bought out/contracts and really could care less about adoptions of current device like those treadmill devices.

I'll be happy getting a few 3D games going at this point. one reason I have not been playing games much lately is I cant stomach 2D anymore.

I own Vive, Rift, 3D Vision and pledged a Pimax 8K. I love them all, nothing beats the total eye candy of 1440p 3D Vision. Nothing beats the inside of the game presence and scale immersion of VR. I need and use both depending on what Im in the mood for

Even on a rather large projector i think scale is far superior in VR, it can get scarily big even, first time i used VR scale was the one thing that totally took my breath away, nothing comes even close to that with 3D Vision. But i dislike VR for number of reasons, i really dont like wearing a mask that covers most of my head including nose, it's not comfortable, its ok for 10-15 minutes.. FOV is awful, its more noticeable than when playing on a screen even if the screen have worse FOV, this needs to be way better, obviously i want to feel like im surrounded by the world and not like im looking through binoculars.

But we are not comparing apples with apples here. 3D surround will never give us the immersion VR can give us with the motion controls and room scale. For me, gaming is all about the immersion so I think VR is way ahead of any other gaming technology. In comparison, a person wearing a glass with bad vision would not see the real world in "high resolution" and with max details, however, he would be just as immersed and experiencing the situations of real life. I don't think the current resolution is a deciding factor to get into VR at all! Whoever is waiting out there, really I am sorry but I have to say that would be missing sooooo much right now! Honestly, I have to say now that I can live without 3D Vision, yes it would suck, but I can live. Cannot say I can live without VR anymore :D

Hmm what is up with the Yelling? I typed in CAPS just to highlight... bah... keep on forgetting that CAPS is often seen as yelling:( That was NOT THE INTENTION ;) (No yelling, just highlighting ^_^) As with VR, each to it's own I guess. Honestly I could live without Stereo 3D and I give 2 cents on VR... Been there tried it, since DK1, DK2, VIVA and PSVR. Currently, in terms of games, PSVR is the way to GO, but is the shittiest of them all (hardware-wise). Yes, the immersion is there, BLURRY, not focused, lacking detail "immersion"... Or are you talking about "space awareness"? For that, VR doesn't even need to be stereo. Mono would do just fine, as one eye! (You put a helmet - cannot see the outside world, but just focus on what is presented in front of you :) But, like I said, each to it's own thing ^_^
Hmm what is up with the Yelling?
I typed in CAPS just to highlight... bah... keep on forgetting that CAPS is often seen as yelling:(
That was NOT THE INTENTION ;) (No yelling, just highlighting ^_^)

As with VR, each to it's own I guess.

Yes, you are right! You probably would still have some immersion factors with a 2D screen in VR, but the 3D makes it so much better, for instance, if you are in a cliff/high altitude I don't think the perception of depth would be the same in 2D and well, for sure it is not the same in a TV even in 3D! You really feel the altitude and your body react to this feeling as some people that fear altitude really do shit their paints! A good example is a very simple demo that I usually show to people in VR, the Oculus Dreamdeck, which is a compilation of small demos experiences and in one of them you are on top of a building and people get really afraid of the altitude. The last demo is also soooo amazing with a T-Rex that is so damn real and scary due to the 3D effect and sense of scale that blows everybody's mind! It is just what any gamer has ever dreamed of! There is absolutely no comparison whatsoever with any other gaming experience and honestly, the resolution is really not that much of a disturbing problem, you don't notice that much when you are immersed. There is also the possibility to do supersampling which make a bit better, but that's not a factor that would make someone in my opinion trade VR for a flat screen, coz it is just so amazing the way it is already, can't wait to see what the future will bring us. Well, at least that is what I can say about CV1 and Touch controllers with the games library available right now, not sure what you guys have tested in the past. Talking about games, I have to say that in my opinion, PSVR is waaaay far from being the best. There are only two exclusive games that are really good, which are Resident Evil and just now Skyrim and they both will be released for Vive/Rift anytime soon, while there are lots of amazing exclusives on Oculus and lots of amazing VR games on steam like The Gallery Episode1/2 and so many others that haven't yet appeared on PSVR. Not to mention as well that none of the PSVR exclusives have room scale, so even though these two games are amazing, you just lose too much of the experience due to the lack of room scale on PSVR, which in my opinion don't put them on par with other games on Rift and Vive.
