Origin crashing with helix mod (dead space 2 and mass effect 3)
So i wanted to test these two games with the helix mod. But every time i start the games, it says they stopped working and i have to close the program. I tried to turn off ingame settings in orgin but it doesnt seem to make a difference. What am i doing wrong? I played both like 6 months ago with helix fixs and they worked fine. But after reinstalling them and applying the mod again they wont work for the life of me.

Helix Mod is sensitive to overlay programs of any form. AfterBurner, Steam overlay, et. al. Is there an overlay associated with Origin that you can turn off?

I feel like a dumb ass, but i figured it out. i forgot i downloaded this msi afterburner software so i can view the stats on my phone. I guess i needed to exit out of that software along with msi afterbuner all together. Got it working now. Thanks (why does it always seem like when you make a post on a forum asking about something, you figure it out 5 minutes later)

Also you don't need to completely exit MSI Afterburner. Just look in your taskbar for the on screen display section of it, right click and show, then use the + icon and add the exe of the game, make a profile where the application detection level is 'None'.

Cookybiscuit, I wasn't aware of these issues concerning Helix fixes. I've been playing Farcry 3 in 3D using Helix fix and I had a few crashes ( FC3 has stopped working). Not many times, but it happened sometimes and it was annoying. Maybe these crashes had to do with me keeping MSI Afterburner on. I like to have this software on, as I have a G19 keyboard that has little LCD screen and is compatible with Afterburner, so I can monitor my GPU stats. I am going to try to follow these steps you've provided to be safe. So, I just add the exes for Dead Space 3 and Farcry 3 using MSI on screen display section, make a profile these games with none detection level?

Shoudn't this also work? With Precision X or Afterburner need to checkmark a box in the advanced options of Precision X or Afterburner. The Check box text you are looking for is: Enable compability with modified Direct3D runtime libraries.
