Tridef 3D is a fabulous software .. but it is problem that decrease the FPS to the half becouse it rendering the same view twice with slight different angle
we just now waiting for the game developer to support 3d playing like crysis 2 .. that will make nvidia make a new decision
Actually Tridef does have a mode which renders 3D like Crysis 2 with very a ridiculously low FPS drop, it's their Virtual 3D mode (they just renamed it "power 3D" in their latest release).

Side-by-side support PLEASE! I've been looking to build a 3D pc for months now, and I've been waiting for Nvidia's action on this. If Nvidia doesn't get their act together, I'll be getting an AMD card in my next computer that is certain.

I was thinking about getting a new Vizio 32" 3D TV model- E3D320VX. Will this work good with 3DTV play @ 1080p resolution? I want to get solid frame rates and @ 24fps sounds like the game would be real choppy overall. Is this problem yall discussing with older TV's and any difference with this newer TV. I am sorry but I am new to all of this, but I do appreciate any info or advice. Thanks- Josh.

Good to know, thanks. Should I use different software than 3DTV Play to achieve 1080p60h with the vizio TV, and if so which one?

The problem is with the Vizio, it does not support the native res 1920x1080, full 60 hz format that nvidia 3D gaming software supports (i.e. 3D Vision), so it is unsatisfactory as a 3D gaming display.
To have a satisfactory full quality 3D gaming experience, the only choice is samsung.

UP...

I've tested Max Payne in 1080p24 and 720p60.
720p image is blurred !

And i've got a 42". I dare not even imagine how it is on a 50" +.

Why adding 1080p60 SBS/TopBottom is so difficult ?

Just so you know you're not a lone voice, I want to echo the question. Come on Nvidia!!? Please can you give us an update? These features have all been discussed before and the lack of a straight answer is quite frankly a bit embarrassing. We've heard of roadmaps and the to-do list, but really, sometimes it feels like you've abandoned this forum. Recent developments like Max Payne are clearly big wins, but don't forget, sometimes it's easier to lose customers than attract new ones.

No you won't because you can't use 3D Vision on your panasonic 3DTV.

You are way overthinking this, it's very simple: both 3D Vision and 3DTV play are designed around marketing's policy of "no user intervention" as explained by Andrew back in Jan.2011. He made it clear that nvidia was doing us a favor by eliminating all modes that require the user to manually put the TV in 3D mode. Nvidia considers this a bonus, not a design blunder. This is why Nvidia has ignored requests for these native res modes, and why Nvidia won't commit to adding them (no availability date = no commitment)
depends on what TV you have, MY LG 47LW450U auto sets the 3d mode, regardless of the user not having to mess with settings, it should still be an option to use these modes and not just frame packing.

SBS and Top/Bottom are required. Today they are almost standard methods supported by any 3d technology!
I don't believe it's an hard option to implement...maybe too easy and too effective!

Let's start a petition to ask these features!

Why is SBS and Top/Bottom so important?

As far as I can tell tell they are both inferior to 120hz 1080p.

Wouldn't it be better to choose a display based on what works (3D Vision and 3DTV Play) instead of trying to anticipate the future that might not even happen.

It will probably be a lot nicer if you focus on what works rather than sitting on a display or prefered displaymode that might never work.

Clearly Nvidia is aware of all these formats but have shown little interest in doing anything but framepacking standard beyond their 3D Vision ecosystem.

720p has the same fps as SBS and Top/Bottom and approximately the same number of pixels per eye but obviously the scaling performed is different.
There are obviously some scaling artifacts but the image is complete in contrast to the loss of detail in SBS and Top/Bottom.

Play WoW with default UI for a great example of hard to read text.

As neither format is supported by 3D Vision you'll have to take a 1080p screenshot and convert to SBS or Top/Bottom yourself preferably staying with PNG.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?
