How to disable"Warning: attempt to run stereoscopic 3D
Hi,

I have a problem with my configuration.

I have a Toshiba Qosmio f50-10q laptop with 9700 GTS and I bought Acer GD245HQ monitor.

When I bought this monitor I didn't know that there was a "technical limitation with the wires" because I saw that this system is made to use a dual-link DVI cable, but in my laptop I don't have DVI connector only HDMI.

So I bough a HDMI to DVI cable.

And I have used this information: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/7947-...resh-rates.html in order to activate a resolution in 120hz, I only achieve this resolution with 1280x720 but when I run a 3D stereo application I have this warning and I don't know how I can disable it:
Warning: attempt to run Stereoscopic in non-stereo display mode, please change to an acceptable mode. See documentation for acceptable Stereoscopic 3D modes
A screen capture of the error here.

I don't know if exist but i can't find a HDMI to DVI wire(double link) only simple link. Because of this i have a Bandwidth limitation, so the max resolution with 120 hz refresh that I can activate is 1280x720.

So with this resolution I can play 3d games and view video and image 3d stereo content perfectly with the 3dvision glasses, the only issue is the WARNING that i can't disabled.

In the Acer monitor there is a menu option that you can see the input resolution and refresh and with this menu i can confirm i have 120hz refresh.

Any idea of how disable this error?

Thanks

Try pushing the button on the Nvidia IR emitter a couple of times, I had 3D not turned on TV message when I was trying to play around with checkerboard out to my projector the other night via my 360 in Invincible Tiger game.
I was trying to make the glasses shutter by faking generic dlp from my pc to my Samsung Plasma (Checkerboard) to make the glasses shutter to see if the projector could do checkerboard.
Like you though I had the red writing across my screen with the message, I pushed the Nvidia emitter button a couple of times and held down for few seconds and the message then seem to go away.
Worth a try.

No worries, mine stays bright green (3D mode) when pressing it for some reason it doesn't turn 3D on and off.
Must be frustrating for you as like you said you have the rest working.

If you think it is signal related using a HDMI to DVI cord, try using the dual link dvi cord that should have come with your monitor like it does with the Samsung 2233RZ. Use a male HDMI to DVI female adaptor??
Cheap enough to buy and see if it fixes it anyhow, adaptor should be only about 10 bucks or so I'd say.

Help needed.

Today I've bought an Optoma GT720 projector.
Connected it to my PC and I have "Warning: attempt to run Stereoscopic in non-stereo display mode..." message

My configuration:
Win7 x64
Geforce 285GTX
2 monitors:
Primary: Optoma GT720 projector
Secondary: non 3D ready Full HD Sony Bravia (I'm getting message even when the secondary display is disabled).
Nvidia 3D Vision glasses and emitter.
Last drivers.

I configure Optoma for 1280x720@120, choose "Nvidia 3D mode" in projector 3D modes, try to run Nvidia 3D wizard. He recognizes Optoma projector and then gives me "Warning..." message.
Emitter light is green.

Help highly appreciated!!!

Hi

Some of the models of the GT270 projector do not support 3D. Optoma updated only models built after August 2010 to support 3D Vision. Is there any way of you knowing what model you have?

If you can confirm it supported 3D, please follow the steps in this FAQ and see if it fixes your problem.

Hi

Some of the models of Optoma projectors do not supprot 3D unless they were build after August 2010. Can you confirm it was built after that date?

If so, please try these steps in this FAQ to enable it. Yes, the FAQ does say ViewSonic projectors.

I would pay $10 via paypal if someone can figure out how to hack this message out of the driver permanently. It's so stupid because it's clearly doing 3D but warns that it can't.

I found a way to sort of disable it. Edit nvstres.dll with PE Explorer, the same way as you edit it for changing crosshairs as in this thread. Instead of changing a crosshair, change out the bitmap numbered 201, which contains images of letters and numbers and stuff, with a completely black bitmap. Then save nvstres.dll and restart the nvidia stereoscopic service. The result will be that you have no stereo OSD at all. So you can't see your depth settings, nor any profile info, however stereo is still working, and the warning message is not displayed along with the rest of the OSD.

I don't currently have this issue but thanks for finding a work around. This is the kind of simple thing that has annoyed lots of us for ages.
Haven't tried your method yet but next time I want to try checkerboard on my samsung I'll give it a go.

Can you find a way to reverse the left and right eyes next? ;-)

I am still interested in finding a solid way to shut this message off. There is no doubt I am running a "non standard" resolution. What burns me up is I am running the NATIVE resolution for the projector, which is not supported. I have a viewsonic pjd6531w. It does 1280x800 at 120hz NATIVE. Thats perfect for 3d, but not according to nvidia. Its why I bought the device in the first place.
