I'm a newbie at this so if this is a dumb question please accept my apologies!
I recently got a Panasonic vt30 3d plasma and have been trying to get 3d from my pc to this tv. I thought I'd try out the trial version of the 3d play before buying to make sure it was all compatable.
My gfx card is a gtx 470 connected to the tv via a mini HDMI to standard HDMI cable.I am running Windows 7 home proffesional 64 bit. I am running the latest nvidia drivers 75.33.
Under the Nvidia tab I have the sterescopic 3d enabled, and I can see the nvidia logo in 3D using the test wizard- my tv detects 3D and the glasses that work with the tv switch on. (This is using the resolution 1280x720). So in other words I can get 3d from my pc via the tv.
When I tried to install the trial version of 3d play, the installer keeps saying I do not have a compatable version of Windows- it says I need Vista or above. What gives? I have Windows 7 running, and this PC has never had another operating sytem installed.
I have tried running games in 3D (Company of Heroes and Command and Conquer Tiberium Wars), but despite setting the resolution in the game to 1280x720 and the tv automatically detecting 3D mode, the effect is basically non-existent. None of the shortcuts work so I can't turn the 3D on or off, change the depth etc. etc. Also, when running the game no Nvidia 3d logo comes up at the start- and I understand that this should happen.
Any idea's guys? I am reluctant to shell out for the full version of 3d play if it won't even install properly.

OH! You mean the 275.33 drivers!
C&C Tiberium Wars is fairly old and Company of Heroes is even older. They might be using older versions of DirectX or OpenGL. Have you tried it with anything more recent? Maybe you could try running the Endless City Demo?

Hah, sorry, missed the 2 off there! I know they are pretty old, but I'm working through a pretty harsh backlog of games here! I just thought as Company of Heroes and C & C Tiberium Wars were on the Nvidia list as games with good 3d vision support they were a good place to start. I still can't figure out why the 3dtv play won't install though due to it saying I need Vista or higher running. My question is, as 3dtv play hasn't installed do I actually have proper 3D Vision enabled? I know it is in the Nvidia tab and I can get the 3D test wizard to work, but is it actually fully working in games? As I said, it is the trial version, but as it hasn't installed properly it hasn't even come up with the trial period or anything (I think it only lasts for 14 days before expiration). Anyway, I will try downloading the Endless City Demo and giving that a bash as per your advice. If anyone knows why 3dtv play won't recognise I have Windows 7 installed though, I would very much appreciate it.
Also, I thought there were supposed to be 3d vision specific profiles for games inside the Nvidia folder on the hard drive, but I can't find any, which further suggest I don't have 3d fully enabled in games?

Not getting much advice on this issue. I've tried Nvidia support and they suggested making sure my motherboard bios was up to date (which it is) trying the 280.19 beta drivers (which I did) and trying to install 3dtv play whilst running in safe mode (which I did) none of which worked.
Just to reiterate, the exact message I get when trying to install 3dtv play is "Install cannot continue your operating system is not supported. 3dtv play requires windows vista or later."
I have all the latest Windows 7 updates installed (I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit). I've tried the nvidia drivers 270.33, 280.19 and now the 280.26 ones all with the same error message. I'm half-tempted to try buying the full version of 3DTV Play, but that seems pretty stupid as if the trial won't even install, it's not likely the full version will either is it? I'm tearing my hair out on this one, hasn't anyone else had a problem like this?

Hey, I know this is an older thread but i'm having the same issue. I get "Install cannot continue your operating system is not supported. 3dtv play requires windows vista or later". or it wont even launch and gives me an error message "The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open,"
I'm running windows 7 64 bit with nvidia drivers 285.62. I've tried safe mode and compatibility mode with Vista, Vista SP1 and 2 but that does nothing. Is there a workaround for it? Its an Asus PC with the GTX260 card.

Also keep in mind that 3DTV Play only supports HDMI 1.4 3D HDTVs and only works via a HDMI connection. It will not work over a VGA connection. If you have a HDMI 1.3 TV, you'd have to use an EDID override to spoof a HDMI 1.4 Display.
Nice find on installing 3DTV Play from a seperate drive.
Also, keep in mind, that if you have an Nvidia 3D Vision emitter, 3DTV Play is free, but the emitter must be connected to enable it.
One other thing, 3DTV Play is included in the regular Nvidia 3D Vision drivers. I'm unsure of the steps required to unlock it as a standalone product with the purchased key, but with my emitter plugged in, it activates once it sees a supported display connected.
Here's a list of supported displays http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-system-requirements.html
If your HDMI 1.4 3D Display is not listed follow the instructions here http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2774

I had exactly the same problem, and finally it got fixed after talking to NVIDA support.
In my case, here is what worked:
after several attempts to use the activation tool (which would allways terminate with amessage saying "windows is not up to date" or something like that), I simply reinstalled the trial version of 3dTV play, and it activated my license.

In my case, here is what worked:
after several attempts to use the activation tool (which would allways terminate with amessage saying "windows is not up to date" or something like that), I simply reinstalled the trial version of 3dTV play, and it activated my license.
Counterintuitive, but worked!
