I haven't used my 3D Vision for around 2 months but wanted to get back into it. I installed it on my Windows 8 and noticed the "Hide stereoscopic 3D effects when game starts" is missing. Is this feature not included for Windows 8, buggy driver, or did nvidia remove the option all together?

PC specs: i7 4790k Processor 4 Ghz, Windows 10 64-bit, 18 GB of RAM, a GeForce 1080 Ti GPU, and Oculus Rift.
Please bring it back!
The simple reason is, that majority of time I play in standard 2D mode, which leaves me with two very inconvenient options:
a) 3D always on: every time I launch a game or even restore from minimized, I have to hit Ctrl-T to disable 3D
b) selective 3D enabling: requires accessing Nvidia control panel which takes 4 clicks to do. This is by far the worst option because it has to be done twice - before you start the game you would like with 3D and after your done with it. So its total 8 clicks.
If the option is not brought back. Alternative solutions could be to include 3d on/off in game profiles. Or create a desktop or taskbar widget that turns 3D on/off with one click.
Should we start a user poll?

I doubt it's the users here they worry about. It's probably the user who turns 3D off, forgets, then calls up NVIDIA support because "3D Vision is broken" or worse yet, goes out blathering to the world about how 3D Vision works for a few days but will then break.
I really don't have a problem turning 3D off all the time. One keystroke is just not a problem. There is one exception, though... Sword of the Stars 2. This game just so happens to have the same exe name as another game (Mars Attacks) and, if the 3D kicks in, the game is completely porked. Even when you turn 3D off, the menus are all in the wrong place. You've got to get the 3D turned off while the company trailers are showing or you're doomed. This game doesn't start up very fast, either.
There's already an option to save 3D settings. Why can't that also include whether or not 3D should be enabled for a game?

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. Instead of altering their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views ... which can be very uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.
I would also love to have this feature back, i noticed a few drivers ago but was when i used a beta set, hoped it was just that set of drivers which i promptly took off because Sleeping Dogs ran like crap with them, since updated to see if it helps with performance in the new need for speed game (which it doesn't, heard its the game at fault though) and that option is still missing.
Some games dont work at all with 3D anymore, like some of the older Lego games, it would be so bad that i had to restart PC and disable 3D in the control panel in order to play it, havent come across any games like that recently (its that range not supported error) but now with it coming on every time automatically, im usre to find some more :(
I only play a few select games in 3D, i dont bother with FPS's because its not very effective, it works best with 3rd person games, and some of these i dont play in 3D because of the performance drop, so mostly i have the 3D off anyway. Like ZlothX said, it can mess the game up even if you're not using it.
Please add this feature back Nvidia :)

Yeah, bugged me it was removed. I have two shortcuts, one to enable and one to disable 3D: C:Program Files (x86)NVIDIA Corporation3D Vision
vstlink.exe /disable

I thought the reason for removing the option was so tridef could'nt work thorough 3dvision emmitter and glasses as tridef used that option to work through a nvidia setup ;)
If so it was a silly thing todo as it forces people to buy none nvidia cards possibly.
It's affected me as i could of got a 1.4 pj instead of a 3dvision 120hz one

thanks man! works like charm! :)
now i have my one click on/off "widget", or almost..
ideally it would be just one "button-shortcut."
but I can live with this solution perfectly fine.

I miss this feature too, and also enable 3D only when full screen (to stop it randomly turning on with some 3D websites, or sometimes even non 3D websites).
I get the notion that they are slowly removing Nvidia 3D from the Geforce drivers bit by bit.

I just upgraded to 314.22 and the "Only while full-screen programs run" is back.
So I'd thought I'd refire this thread. I need to get over and post in the driver feedback thread.
