Geforce 1080 TI does not have DVI port
  1 / 3
I've been waiting on this card for ever. But I just saw in the Nvidia website: Display Connectors DP 1.43, HDMI 2.0bStandard I have an Asus VGH with 3D vision Emitter built in. How am I supposed to connect my monitor to this card and get 3d? Im worried now.

Luckily my monitors have display port and I currently run 3dvision in surround connected to one card. This is the upgrade I have been waiting for... I wonder if running two of these in SLI I will finally be able to run some games in 3d surround with the performance I want.

The FOUNDER'S EDITION does not have DVI. Only like 2 other boards have been announced. But at least one of them already have announced dvi ports. It would surprise me if more brands don't have it then do tbh.

Most likely Asus will release a STRIX version of the card that will also have 1xDVI port. Having sooo many DP ports on a single card is a bit stupid;) DVI is still largely used.

I'm glad that I bought the S2716DG a few months before the GTX 1080. I avoided all the active adapter stuff.
DP to DVI is digital anyway, no active adaptor required
For DP to Dual Link DVI when using a resolution of 1920x1080@120, you do need an active adapter with an additional USB connection for power. Club 3D has discontinued making theirs, leaving Accel as the remaining supplier. So far, no one has made a newer version that uses the more robust power available in DP 1.3 to make an active adapter without the USB power connector. (AFAIK)

Can anyone confirm that they have gotten this to work through DP to Dual Link DVI for 1920x1080@120? I really want to get this card. But if is not going to work there is no point for me.

I use 2 of them on my 2x980Ti which also have lots of DP ports and only on DVI port. There are moments however when the adaptor (in 3D Mode) fails to work (no video signal on that screen). At which point I just alt+tab to windows and alt+tab back in game and it starts working. For the 1080Ti it is exactly the same (as is the exact same DP port and spec).

BTW, the active adapter is typically around $70-100. https://www.amazon.com/Accell-B087B-002B-UltraAV-DisplayPort-Dual-Link/dp/B002ISVI3U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1488630277&sr=8-1&keywords=Accell+B087B-002B

I think I will wait on a card that has a DVI port.. $100 more is too much for an already pricy card. Or might just get a Nvidia 1080 then.

Just get a 3rd party version. They will most likely have a dvi port and have a fan system that is much more quiet under load. Personally I'm going to pick up an Asus or MSI 1080ti version as soon as I can.

I don't see any DVI port on any third party CARD. :/ https://www.newegg.com/videocards/EventSaleStore/ID-2041834 I would really hate to spend $100 for an adapter. does it have to absolutely be the adapter with usb powered connector? Something like this wouldn't work? https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2W02VR3308&cm_re=active_dual_link_displayport-_-12-996-113-_-Product
