3D Vision under Linux
Hi all, I'm trying to set up 3D vision in Ubuntu Linux with a Quadro FX3700 and an ASUS VG278HE monitor, with nVidia driver 331.67. I found a relevant thread from this forum from 2011 that says that for this to work, I need to add a "Composite off" line to my xorg.conf file [1]. However, when I do this and try to restart X, all I get is a blank screen. The system is not crashed because I can still Ctrl+Alt+F1 to another virtual console, but X never starts up and just stays as a blank screen. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this problem? And can anyone confirm that I'm doing the right thing by trying to turn Composite off in xorg.conf? Thanks, Mike [1] Here's the thread from 2011. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/495102/3d-vision/3d-vision-emitter-blinking-red-w-linux/ Just like the author of that thread, my emitter is blinking red.

Just to be clear, these are the exact lines that I am adding to my xorg.conf file that lead to the blank screen:
Section "Extensions" Option "Composite" "off" EndSection
I don't know anything about Linux or how you'd use the drivers under Linux. But, in case it helps, the emitter blinking red means that the USB driver is not talking to it. This driver may be missing in your install. It's separate from the video driver. Maybe that's what the option Composite is supposed to do.

I know that when you are downloading drivers, Nvidia gives you a choice of Linux 32 or 64 under the OS listings. I looked and I did not see 331.67 listed as being Linux. Also read the patch notes carefully, support may have been dropped for that old of a card in the new drivers.
