Yup. I used MSI afterburner and in 2D GPU usage is almost 99% most of the time, and in 3D GPU usage ranges from 40% to a max of 60%. My CPU usage is not even close to 99%, so don't see any CPU bottleneck.
I can play with over 100 FPS in 2D but 3D can drop as low as 25. Such BS.
Can anyone confirm similar GPU usage issue with this game?
AcidBong, download MSI afterburner and check your GPU usage in 3D.
Hopefully it's just a bug they can patch.
FYI, I'm using a Titan X and Rog swift.
Yup, same thing going on on my pc. GPU usage takes a huge nosedive when 3d is on. well... shit..

How demanding is the game in 3D Surround ? Min/avg/max fps ? Can anyone give some numbers? :) Thx:)

I second Pirate here- I'm personally bored to tears with everyone's newfound awareness of how much everything in the entire world totally sucks. That there is no good in anyone, all humans are evil. All humans do is destroy everything, ruin the planet and hate on everything. And oh yeah, everything sucks. Did I cover them all? Did I mention that everything sucks?
Here's the thing- if you guys are so keen on learning how things work, then you damn well need to get a better background in history.
Ah, what would you know? You're 55. You're so old that you don't even have all the answers anymore! Best make way for those who still do!
But seriously, that's spot on. Every generation seems to think that they're on the cusp of some great moral collapse of civilisation, just like every generation for the past 2000 years has produced fools who were certain the Second Coming was just around the corner.
Every one is so special that the problems they can see in front of them must surely be grander than the problems of generations past, despite empirical evidence to the contrary.
Despite its many injustices, anyone who thinks 2015 isn't one of the best times in history so far to be a human (especially of the female, Black, Brown, gay, Jewish or Slavic varieties, to name just a handful) is living in a shit-stained fantasy.

I'm using 2x GTX 680 and BF4 profile fixed both the text and grass problems. I seem to be getting 10-15% less fps though and I get some flickering in the ingame menu. I haven't played much so I don't know if there are other downsides.
I just reported the following bugs to Rockstar. Seeing as they're officially supporting 3D, it might be worth others reporting what they find too. You can do it here.
https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
[SLI only]
-Most grass and some smaller plants will render in one eye only. This can be fixed by turning grass to normal, but this sacrifices a significant level of visual fidelity by simply disabling the offending effects
-Most on-screen text will render in one eye only. Removing the game executable from the nVidia profile using nVidia Inspector resolves this issue
[SLI and Single Card]
-Blood decals on the ground pop into an incorrect depth once they are a certain distance from camera. Does not seem to affect bloody skidmarks or blood decals on vehicles, only blood splatter on world surfaces. Getting close again moves them to the correct depth.
-When an enemy is killed, the targeting reticule switches to an X. This X renders at "screen depth" rather than at the correct world depth.
-Convergence setting should ideally allow different values for first-person and third-person views. At present, switching between the two requires a manual convergence adjustment to be usable.
[Misc]
-3D will occasionally become disabled for no reason. Definitely observed on single GPU, uncertain about SLI
-On occasion, many shaders will "break" at the same time, causing the game to become unplayable due to effects rendering at incorrect depth.
Thats a great summary of the issues I have found. I can confirm that on occasion in sli 3d gets lazy in one eye and makes an effect like its shutting off. Maybe thats what you were talking about with the shaders. I had a similar issue in watch dog. Sometimes one eye would just freeze frame while the other eye worked fine.
And text in menus, subtitles and other places is usually only in the right eye. But sometimes only in the left eye. I'll try your nvidia inspector fix.
Even with these issues (which im sure can be fixed) I'm very happy with 3d performance out of the box. I'm getting around 60fps with 3d vision on at 1440p. Its rare developers make such a great effort to support 3d. I definitely want to support them for that.

BF4 fixes the text and grass, but at a significant performance hit. If I had to guess, I'd say it's breaking SLI to achieve those improvements. It also made 3D disable after a while (emitter still working, image goes flat, framerate doesn't improve so it's acting like 3D is still on).

Have you tried to use the DX11 SLI bits from GTAV profile in BF4 profile? I expect that will improve performance (maybe even give it fully back:) )
I am currently downloading the game as I just got home from work... so will be a while until I will be able to see it:)
