  1 / 2
Hey everyone, I have a pretty small room and i'm looking into getting a 3d projector my lcd is bugging me. I have a pretty small room, maby 15 feet. I would like one that can push 720p at 120 hz with a good size, is there any yet that can do 1080p at 120? i don't want to spend more then 700$ unless it's worth it...

3d 1080p projectors will debut this Fall. The panasonic will be offering the cheapest consumer projector but its expected to be more than 2-3,000 dollars. At 15 feet, an acer h5360 720p 3d projector is good. I would have recommended optoma if u had less than 15 feet.

Actually I measured it to be 10 feet, what Optoma model were you thinking of? Anyone who has tried a few to know what one runs 3d better, post what you know please.

The reason I would recommend optoma to you is because it has a shorter throw ratio so at 9 feet it makes a screen 150 inches diagonal. The Acer requires a much further distance for the same effect. I have mine at about 14 feet and the screen diagonal is about 110 inches. If I can make a second purchase I would get the optoma so I can do 150 at such a short distance.

Optoma Projektor HD600X is the only model with 3D and 120hz'

I see why someone who doesent know would prefer Optoma over Acer in a beamer, but I dident have that choice when I bought my Acer but I am more then satisfied with it.

I had the Optoma HD67 and now have the Acer 5360.

I am usually a fan of optoma as I have one in my bedroom and i get ZERO rainbow effect with it - plus its almost silent.

However, The HD67 had terrible rainbow effect, the acer is minimal.
The Acer on full lamp is as quiet as the HD67 on eco (despite what the stats say)
the picture for both is about the same, however Optoma has more tweaks
The throw ratio seemes better for the optoma. but only slightly.

That was all besides the point though, I project a 130" screen at 720p and to be honet I have never felt that I would need 1080p. 720p is crisp and clear and with AA its almost unoticable.
