Well this is happening much sooner than I thought. Maybe the battle was cut short as 3D TV makers started realizing that uncertainty with the glasses situation might jeopardize TV sales?

Well, it doesn't sound like the TV manufacturer's are on board -- they're still holding on to their proprietary designs for the moment. It's XpanD that has come up with glasses that they purport will work with any standard -- the "universal remote" of 3d glasses, if you will.

But yeah, if Panasonic, Sony, Samsung, et al were truly smart they'd agree on a standard now before we end up with another 3-year HD DVD vs Blu-Ray battle on our hands during which nobody will sell any 3d TVs. But we all know that's not going to happen. ;)

ive been looking all over for xpand dlp-link glasses that doesnt need the ir thing.

anyone know where to get some ? iam from UK would appreciate it if you could help :)
