EDID-override for Samsung 55" 3d tv
  2 / 3
Just checked my tv. The option in the menue are: 3d and 2d to 3d and i can change side by side or top botton thats it. So i guess my tv is not able to handle the edid hack because of mising features. Yes i play with 3dtv play the resolution set in nvidia panel are 1920X1080@24 hz. Thats the problem the framerates for playing games are too low. 24hz per eye . If i can get 60 hz means 30hz per eye and thats a huge difference for playing games. I thought with the edid hack you get 60 hz per eye and that wold be fantasic.
Did you relabel the hdmi port to DVI/PC ? If you don't the above 3D modes only appear.

i couldn resit and checked it out right away. 1. I have the screen saying: HDMI4/DVi. Irn the Nvidia panel i see monito -_Samsung device: DVD/HDMC 2. Resolution is 1920X1080 @60 hz 3. if i activate 3d than the resolution is: 1920X1080 @ 24 hz (and 1240X720 @60hz normal non 3d ) 4. In the tv setup i can choose side by side or top / bottom. --- nowhere a sign of checkered board or anything like that---- 5. I can make a custom resolution in Nvidia panel. Here i can create 19820X1080 @ 23 hz or @ 24 hz. I tried differnet resolutions @ differnt hz but i cant get a 1920X1080 @60 hz nor 1920X1080 @120 hz in 3d it says not hdmi conform.

If then the case your TV doesn't support the other 3D modes but I would go to Samsung website download the manual and see if the TV support other modes. If not your only option with NVidia is 3DTV play @ 720 or 1080@24hz .

I only know about LG and Samsung's try the custom LG EDID override or the Acer HR274H 3D Monitor EDID Override. The Acer override will only 1080@60 in 3D.

@zig11727 thx for reply, i got the tv installed. How can i use this acer.inf to use the UHD resolution? Does this override work in 4K? Tridef mentioned to use a passive 4k tv to achieve a resolution of 1920X1080 @ 60 hz for both eyes than.

I don't know if the EDID override will work with your TV but if it works with the LG overrides than you would need for UHD the following override The EDID override below will enable UHD 3D. acermod4k.inf
