3D vision / BluRay playback (Part 2)
Ok, so I tried 260.99_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_english_whql.exe drivers and everything start working fine, both PowerDVD and TMT5 showing 3D on any 3D BluRay I've tried. So what's up with all newer drivers?

I have 430 connected through HDMI 1.4 to Yamaha HTR8063 to Samsung UN55C8000 LED 3D TV.

What exact new driver version and what exact version of PowerDVD and TMT5 are you using?

Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D build 2701
ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 5.0.1.87

I've tried so far:

266.58, 270.51, 270.61 - all the same issue: no 3D in both players over HDMI 1.4 on LED 3D TV, fine in the wizard and test.
260.99 - works fine in both players (used HD Audio from 270.61)

I have Asus GTX430 and Windows 7 SP1 x64 OS.

P.S. My problem is resolved for now but I still want to assist with any troubleshooting possible so ask away if you need some more info.

Thanks!!

Are you using HDMI 1.4 or 1.3 with checkboard? Checkboard works fine, my TV does not support it (and I don't see any reason of using it if I can use a full resolution 1.4 mode). Also it could depend on videochip, I have 430 wich is more then enough for my video, however I doubt it and on OS. I have Win7 x64.

What are your specs?

Thanks!

Using both HDMI1.3 and 1.4: If I use 1.3 via Rollermod, I get 3D Vision and checkerboard. If 1.4 (no rollermod) I get 3DTV Play and 1920x1080/24 Framepacking.
Both players work with both 1.3 and 1.4. I was having probs with 270.61 until I went back and did a clean install, that fixed all probs.
Your TV supports checkerboard, why do you think it doesn't?

Not sure if higher card makes any difference, it shouldn't. I don't think TV should make a difference either.
8000 series does not support checkboard over 1.3, at least I don't see any options to enable it. In TV menu I have only three options: 2Dto3D, side by side and top/bottom. 1080Px24 and 720Px60 switch TV to 3D mode automatically. Technically I can choose that option in PowerDVD but I see only blur on screen, not that I really need it if I can use full HD.

There's a compeling reason for enabling these modes for videos as explained below.
When you hit the 3D button on the samsung remote, do you see seven 3D mode icons, four of which are greyed out? You should activate all modes even if you have no use for these modes, here's how: Connect your PC to HDMI1 and label the HDMI1 input 'DVI PC' : menu > input > edit name. As soon as you apply the label, you will see a marked improvement in image quality in all things 2D, especially your desktop. The TV is emulating a computer monitor in that it goes into 1 to 1 pixel mapping mode. This is very important even if you have no interest in using the four modes that are now greyed out. Either a HDMI1.3 or 1.4 cable will allow you to operate in this way. In fact, you can even use a DVI to HDMI converter cable. I know, I've tried every combination.
If you ever decide to try 3D gaming, you can do so in native resolution (checkerboard) with a 3D Vision emitter. Either way, you will benefit from labeling HDMI1 as above in terms of picture quality and videos.
As to BluRay 3D, it will always automatically go to framepacking 1920x1080 as long as you are under 3DTV Play. Only 3D Vision allows checkerboard.
