I've been looking around, and it seems I'm gonna have to go with the 3DVision. However from what I can see, there are no 1920x1200 120hz monitors around? Is this true, or can anyone else find one. I don't wanna downgrade my resolution to 1680x1050, it's too big a loss in my opinion - I quite enjoy my 1920x1200 res =-P I could probably settle for 1920x1080, but I can't even find that.
Does anyone know when these screens will be available if they aren't already out?

There are none, and there aren't likely to be any any time soon due to bandwidth limitations of the DVI dual link standard.
That said, ask around, a large number of us used to game on larger monitors. We keep our old monitor as secondary monitors or play on them when 3d stereo isn't possible, however, not a single person has said that they would choose to play on their larger monitor instead of playing in 3d stereo.
Besides that, unless you have a very beefy system, anything higher that 1680x1050 is going to seriously tax your system. 3d stereo pretty much cuts your framerate in half.
Let me make this clear though. I went from gaming a 26" monitor to the 22" 2233rz, and I couldn't be happier, and I still even get to use the 26" as a backup if I need it. The only regret I have is not buying it sooner. To think, I almost didn't buy it because I didn't want to use a smaller monitor.
Also, because of the way 3d stereo works, you can't really compare it to 2d gaming as far as size in concerned as 3d stereo makes the world seem much larger than it would on a 2d monitor of comparable size.

There are no LCD HDTVs that accept native 120hz signals. All they do is convert a native 60hz signal into a 120hz image. They will not work. You can use certain DLP HDTVs for 3d, but that is it.

I million times yes, I would prefer to play 3d than play 2d at a higher resolution.
As far as the colors are concerned, they look absolutely great. 3d stereo does a hell of a lot to improve image quality, cleaning up the textures and aliasing quite nicely. Also, the colors seems richer and contrasts better. I was pleasantly surprised by the improvement in general image quality when going to 3d.

it just use only hdtv panel (panel only)
120hz input circuit was developed to use PC only
so
pannel--->use full hdtv panel
circuit---->only just for PC (they made this circuit)
120hz panel + 120hz new input circuit = new monitor was made
they say
it is different from FULL HDTV`s
for example
view spec of it
it`s H frequency scan(bandwidth) is 148khz
it is enough to use 1920*1080@120hz
on the otherhand samsung 2233rz is 135khz
(i`m sorry i`m not good at english)
Okay, I think I get where you are coming from now. You ordered just an lcd panel with a 120hz input circuit and you have to put it together yourself more or less.
So looking at the bandwidth possibilities in a DVI D single link, it has a theoretical limit of 2.6 megapixels and since a single link can support a 1920x1200 display at 60hz, assuming dual link efficiently doubles the bandwidth, then it should support up to 1920x1200 at 120hz without too much issue. Now I am a bit annoyed that I had been told that DVI couldn't hack it at higher resolutions, but hey, I'm still glad I bought it now instead of later. I still have no desire to play on a larger screen if I can play in 3d instead. I can buy a bigger monitor in a year with whatever the new video cabling standard is. ^_^
If someone has any corrections to my logic, let me know.
I do have a concern though. I wonder if the nV software will detect your screen and allow it to be used in 3d.

Gah, I'm torn now. I can understand why 1680x1050 wouldn't be annoying in games with shiny 3D-Ness. However I dunno about general computer usage - I think I might get annoyed by the downgrade in screen size then. But then again...shiny 3Dness...

It's not a downgrade but an immersion upgrade to play in 3d stereo. There are limitations but when tweaked many titles look a lot better than the 2d plane but it's not all wonderful fairies singing and flying around sprinkling their magic pixie dust -- there are limitations and sacrifices but resolution is not one of them, imho. It's tough to explain in words the difference between the 3d plane and the 2d plane -- just that the 2d plane is very dated now and sucks in comparison.

And I'll keep my 30'' Dell for sure ;-) ... and I am NOT going to trade size or resolution for 3D-Ness!
Believe me... I have had shutters (from Metabyte, the very guys who had been working for nvidia afterwards) since the Voodoo II era when I was gaming on my 20'' Sony CRT so I know exactly what I am talking about...
for you It may be worth the 4 inches but EIGHT ... no way, Sir! /no.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Beside that, I am still confused why they make such a fuzz about the 120Hz. Nvidia on their end should leave it up to the user to decide what grade of flicker they can stand but pro'lly they are afraid of the press turning down the product and harming the reputation.
On behalf of the TV Set makers I do not see the reason for not implementing native 120Hz input in every latest model.
HDMI1.3 gives enough bandwith and all better panels can do 120Hz... I could not imagine anything more easy than simply push the signal through to the LVDS driver to allow for maximum bandwith/refresh rate when you select input through HDMI at native resolution with no overscan and picture processing.... with the 32 TVs start at 600,- EUR allready that would ba a massive push for that technology...

The only advantage I've found with bigger TVs is the ability to have more than one viewers enjoy the programming on that Device.
The bigger the screen the further away I sit. Relatively it works out the same for me.
When i first got my 42inch tv for my PS3 i was astonished by the size comiing form a 19inch, however after a few weeks I didn't notice the difference. The screen took up my entire field of view just like the smaller devices.
I guess the differnece comes when you are using spreadsheets or sitting back lookign at a movie, but if i'm actively playing a gmae I don't need those big screen devices.

And as for colors etc, how clear is it? Are the colors as sharp as if you weren't wearing the glasses, or is there some greyscale in there?
I million times yes, I would prefer to play 3d than play 2d at a higher resolution.
As far as the colors are concerned, they look absolutely great. 3d stereo does a hell of a lot to improve image quality, cleaning up the textures and aliasing quite nicely. Also, the colors seems richer and contrasts better. I was pleasantly surprised by the improvement in general image quality when going to 3d.
it is 37" TFT LCD monitor (or 54")
it was Full HD TV pannel
i ordered that monitor
it is DIY product
i will report on this forum about it`s result
as soon as possible..
but i,m not living in America
i live in Asia (i,m sorry i can,t speak english well)
There are no LCD HDTVs that accept native 120hz signals. All they do is convert a native 60hz signal into a 120hz image. They will not work. You can use certain DLP HDTVs for 3d, but that is it.

It is not Full hdtv sets
it just use only hdtv panel (panel only)
120hz input circuit was developed to use PC only
so
pannel--->use full hdtv panel
circuit---->only just for PC (they made this circuit)

Where in Asia if I may ask... and would you be willing to disclose your source?I have a friend who travels to Beijing next week and know some people all over Asia. If its really working, I'd be interested in getting the electronics from your source and track a LCD panel here in Europe (For me 32'' be enough for a "desktop")...

Certainly would be interested myself...
Gah, I'm torn now. I can understand why 1680x1050 wouldn't be annoying in games with shiny 3D-Ness. However I dunno about general computer usage - I think I might get annoyed by the downgrade in screen size then. But then again...shiny 3Dness...
Why must I make this compromise! :-(

I kept my old 26" monitor. That way I have plenty of room for anything i care to do.
