Dead Space 3 stuck at 30fps with 3D Vision and Vsync enabled??? Why I'm not getting 60fps????
  2 / 2
I think Adaptive VSync is busted on mine. It 'feels' like I am getting screen tearing and FRAPs is recording wierd FPS rates. Daft values like 65. This is with 3D vision on. This was really noticable with Doom3. I had to revert to usual vsync. Any ideas?

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Its same for me andy. It may be better for people who arent constantly riding 60 fps. I leave vsync on in control panel and only disable it if I have to which is rare.

I would love to know what causes the issue on some\most computers, but then again I guess if nvidia knew that then the problem wouldn't exist. I sill recommend new people try it out to see if it helps frame rate issues, you never know!

If you have Vsync on in the NCP, is the option set for all games, or you must select a game that you're playing? And, if the option is set for all games, can I also set Vsync on in the in game's menu, or I must disable it? For example, I set Vsync on in the Nvidia Control Panel to get 60fps for Dead Space 3, if I leave Vsync on in the game's menu, will I still get only 30fps, or 60fps?

As far as I remember setting the game vsync on will result in 30fps on ds3 just try it. Nvidia cp setting are global so once set it will be enabled for all games. Using NVidia inspector or program settings tab in the cp, settings can be customized on a per game basis.

Ok, I understand that if you set Vsync on in the NCP for DS3 I'll get 60fps and that I should turn off the in game Vsync, otherwise I'll get stuck with 30fps as this game limits us to only 30fps with vsync enabled. What I want to know is if I set Vsync on in the NCP for global settings and I also enable Vsync for the games I am playing, is there any conflict problems? Should I only use the NCP Vsync enabled without enabling Vysinc in the in game options for the games I am playing? I am curious about that...

Usually but not always the cp settings will override game settings. There shouldn't be any conflicts, none that I have experienced in any case so feel free to experiment.
