3DTV Play only problem. Screen shows only Right Eye Image.
Hello wonderful 3DVision community!
I come to you in a time of need. I need a 3DTV expert to solve this issue.
It only happens in some games in fact. The issue is that 3d activates but it shows only one eye. How do I know this? Because if I alter my depth and/or convergence settings with the keyboard shortcuts then the screen moves to the left or right. Of course, this means both eyes are receiving the same image so no 3D for me :(
There's a lot of weird facts about it:
In the videogame SOMA (Using Helix Mod 3d Fix) this happens but ONLY if I use 1920x1080 24Hz. If I use 1280X720 60Hz the 3d runs fine. It was the first game that I encountered this problem in.
In the videogame GalGun's Double Peace (Using Helix Mod 3d Fix) it happens no matter the 3D resolution I chose :(.
Important facts to consider:
-This problem occurs before and after installing the 3D Helix Mod Fix so it's not a problem with the fixes but rather with the games.
-I know for a fact that this games and patches work on normal 3DVision because if I use my normal monitor instead of the 3DTV and choose the red/cyan 3D then I can see both eyes. This means this problem is exclusively due to 3DTV Play.
I beg for help! And I want to use this chance to compliment all of your work for us 3DLovers. I'm so glad you exist and I've had wonderful 3D experiences thanks to all of you. In fact, as a Software Engineer in training, I want to join you and learn to work to fix games myself! If you do not know why this happens to me but have some recommendation on what to look for then I might even try to fix it myself.
-What can be causing this problem?
-Could they be related to some setting in the Nvidia Control Panel?
-What do I dooooo :'c

Soma does not use helixmod!!
It uses the OpenGl wrapper from helifax or he also has a variant that uses SuperDepth3D
I'd strongly recommend that you read the included "README" for either variant that you are using. As well as read the associated Game Thread.
To understand what SuperDepth 3D is, read this thread
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/959175/
Here's the Soma thread (read it, don't cheap out and just make a post saying help me)
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/879631/
GalGun Double Peace is probably a profile import issue, dunno, but it is dx9 and using the wrapper by helix.
Also, you should tell us the model # of your display.
Have you tried doing a clean install of Drivers/DDU? That's usually the first place to start when things are being wonky, not sure why but Driver installs have a tendency to get buggy/wonky over time...

Thank you for the reply. I have indeed read both the thread and README files in both Games. I wouldn't be posting this Problem and asking for help if I hadn't already tried all the solutions I could find.
Sorry for calling both fixies 3d helixmod. I usually Google "GAMENAME 3d Helix Mod" when I look for this fixes.
I'm using NVidia 3DTV Play software to play in 3D in my Sony 3D TV using a compatible HDMI cable. This method allow you to use 1280x720 24Hz or 1920x1080 60Hz ONLY as a 3D HDMI signal that is recognized and displayed by the TV. I also believe that this method forces V-Sync on no matter the configuration. I have successfully played Witcher 2, Witcher 3, OUTLAST with their respective fixes without any issues.
I STRONGLY believe that the problem is NOT related to the 3D fixes but rather with the games and 3DTV Play Driver itself. That's why I mention both games even thought the fix creators are different. Remember that in GalGun Double peace this issue occurs when triggering 3D both with or without the fixes. I believe is the same with SOMA thought I didn't try it without the fix. Both games fixes work perfectly with normal 3DVision and I can use all the settings and tweaks that are on the README files (This also works in 3DTV Play because I can see the screen moving when using specific hotkeys for each fix)
As for the two games I've encountered the problem in:
SOMA case is strange. When playing in 1280x720 24Hz it works perfect. When I change the resolution of the game to 1920x1080 and the Herts to 24 the TV recognizes the 1920x1080 24Hz signal and it works in 3D but the screen is zoomed in the top-right corner of the game. When I close and relaunch the game then the signal is still recognized by the TV and the screen is no longer zoomed in but both eyes show the right eye image in both eyes (No
3D) .
In GalGun Double peace this issue occurs no matter the resolution I chose. Again the 3D HDMI signal is still recognized by the TV but both eyes show the right eye image.
I need wisdom. I need someone who has troubleshooted 3DTV Play before (Not only 3DVision).

Hi Rodri,
I recently had this issue you describe in "Ori and the blind forest" about the pixels only filling a portion of the actual pixels that should have been displayed. "the screen is zoomed in the top-right corner of the game."
Cant remember exactly what fixed the problem though. All I remember it had something to do with these settings in the ini:
;width=1280
;height=720
You could try to put the ";" back in front of the resolution if it aint already (disable). Also try to set the resolution of your desktop to that of the game and see what happens when you launch it. Make sure the resolution in the ini, if enabled, match that inside the game.
OR
If "full_screen=1" inside the ini...
Try to disable fullscreen inside the game otherwise there might be a clash. Its always best not to have a setting active inside the control panel or ini and inside the game at the same time. Overriding settings from NVC causes bugs sometimes.
One of the very first tricks I was taught in 3d Vision is to turn all the settings to its lowest quality or off (apart from resolution). If the problem goes away turn the settings up one by one till you find the culprit.
In all this time I've only seen the one eye bug once when I didn't install a profile correctly with Geforce profile manager. Think it was Masterotaku and DJRK's Skyrim SE fix before nVidia had a profile for the game. It was 2 years ago so really cant remember all the details. Have you followed TsaebehT's advice?

@Rodri: First pass would definitely be to use DDU and reinstall the driver. These sort of stuck vision problems can happen from driver profile glitches. Especially as you are seeing it on specific games, not universally.
I hope you will take up ShaderHacking, all are welcome. You can get some good background from The School for ShaderHackers, in my signature.

@bo3b @TsaebehT I tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything with DDU yesterday as you two suggested. Issue persists unfortunately :(
@KoelerMeester Thanks for the reply! I asume when you reffer to the "ini" file you are speaking about the ini files that come with each of the 3D fixes. I searched for the settings you describe. Changing the fullscreen or ForceFullscreen in the file and/or changing the fullscreen option in the game does not solve the issue :( I couldn't find width or height lines in the ini :(
I Will start to learn ShaderHacking right away.
In the meantime if any of you happen to have Nvidia 3DTV Play and any of this two games please try it and let me know if this is a general issue or if it is just me. Thank you all for the support! Any other suggestions are welcome!

The problem might most probably have been a flag in the profile. Did you use DDU through safe mode? What windows do you use and is it updated? You could try to run it from a different windows or try older drivers.

@KoelerMeester Yes I did use DDU in safe mode. I'm running windows 10 64 bits. Unfortunately I Would have to install a new windows in order to try a different one >.< My windows is updated. You think I should try older drivers? I have no idea which one to try. I need to get to understand each setting in the ini file to trobleshoot them :/
Is there a setting in the files that is known to work well on normal 3DVision but break in 3DTV Play?

Most problems are Windows and Driver related.
Have you tried Ctrl+Alt+F11 to see what happens?
Win7 is reported to be the most stable up to date. But there is an evil update everyone seems to be talking about. You could try a dual boot like J-Enermax did to narrow your problem down a bit.
I got this fixed:
Install Dual Boot option with Win 7 and play the game under Win 7 instead of Win 10 (like before) and the game just works..FLAWLESSLY and OUT OF THE BOX, in full screen mode.
My framerate double under 3D Surround Ultra Setting with High PhysX when I play under Win 7 (I suspect this happen because I played in borderless window mode in order for 3D Surround to work under Win 10 and we all know that borderless window mode kills performance vs. full screen)
Finally, I am happy that my game just works under Win 7. Wasted an entire evening trying to "fix" Win 10 3D Vision shittiness :(
My response: EFF YOU Win10!
I've been using an original Windows 8.1 for the past 4 to 5 years and never had a single problem so far.
Is there a setting in the files that is known to work well on normal 3DVision but break in 3DTV Play?
I highly doubt this. I've been on 3D Vision for 4 years and switched to 3DTVP about 4 months ago. No problem up till date apart from the 1280x720 resolution and Fullscreen over ride in the ini. It is strange that it works in some games and not in others.
Have you tried the other override in the control panel?

You never stated your display model, nor did you state the wrapper you were using for Soma.
If OpenGL, you can not change the resolution while the game is running. You need to set it prior to launching helifax's wrapper.
Also 3DTV Play is 720P@60/1080P@24, I'm sure that must be a typo.
TriDef will allow 1080P@60 and 3DMigoto with certain games
