Has anyone else had a problem with texture corruption on the right side of the screen in sli? I get some textures turning white in 3d. The odd thing is that enabling the 3d vision crosshair fixes it. Sadly I don't like using the crosshair.
I get that too with my SLI system but there is a workaround for that if you don't mind losing a couple frame per second. Just set the crosshair transparency to 100% - it won't show up at all in the game and you will no longer have that texture issue. I ran around a few areas and the frame rate loss overall is minimal. The most frames per second loss I saw anywhere was 4.

I finally found the perfect balance for this game to run in 3D vision with my SLI setup (2 GTX470's). The last thing I am trying to solve is the blood splatter when I get hit, it makes me go crosseyed. I found a .ini command to get rid of it but it doesn't seem to work (maybe I am putting it in the wrong spot?)

[ScreenSplatter]
bBloodSplatterEnabled=0

The variable and section above must both be added to the bottom of the Skyrim.ini file and set to 0 if you wish to disable blood splatters appearing on the screen. This does not disable blood spurts which occur when you hit an enemy or are hit; it only disables the red splatter effect which is superimposed on the screen to simulate blood getting in your eyes.

Any help appreciated.

Hey guys...without reading through 24 pages of info here....where do we stand in a quick summary with 3d for Skyrim?

Are the night sky issues fixed or modded?

Everything else looking pretty good? We have any major improvements on the horizon?

Thanks...thinking about picking this game up !

The sky, stars, aurora have been fixed with Dorkirt's mod. This mod is now optional however if you also use Boris' ENBSeries 3D Vision fix. Some users still prefer Dorkirt's sky/star/aurora mesh so you can disable those specific ENB shaders if you prefer. [s]If you want to use a 3D Sight, you can download one that looks like the original cursor. I made a few before I realized there was one already on Skyrimnexus and you can find all of those files posted there, just search for 3D Vision.[/s] Nvidia added these Skyrim-themed crosshairs for us in 290.53 Beta. You'll also want to disable the in-game crosshairs and floating quest markers in the game options settings.

There's still a few problems with 3D overall:

Nvidia 3D Crosshairs tend to break in dungeons, in combat. Apparently this is a known issue, hopefully Nvidia is able to fix or workaround this issue.

[s]Water is still broken with no fix available atm. We will probably need the Creation Kit or a fix from Bethesda for this.[/s] Mostly fixed using Boris' ENB mod: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=4350 Still a few minor problems that may be fixed with more shader work.

Convergence/depth can be limited in 1st person due to arms/weapons showing. Adjust to your taste, or use some of the workarounds to move the camera forward to hide your arms/weapons. Alternatively, you can play in 3rd person and adjust depth/convergence similar to a 3rd person action game (Batman, Assassin's Creed etc).

Inventory 3D weapon/item can seem out of focus or uncomfortable depending on your depth/convergence settings in 1st/3rd person.

Perk constellations can be out of focus depending on your depth/convergence settings in 1st/3rd person.

Map is 3D while icons/markers are 2D. This can make it difficult to determine where icon markers correspond to locations on the map and to navigate unknown pathways.

Compass, subtitles, Menu, UI, standard crosshair are all in 2D. All expected for games that are not "3D Vision Ready", you can disable both crosshair and floating quest markers in the game's options (recommended). Use the Nvidia 3D Crosshair instead (Ctrl-F12).

Some fishbowl/warping if you increase FOV. The effect is far more pronounced than any other 1st person game I've played. I have it set to 70 and even objects 45 degrees from center exhibit some fishbowl warping.

[s]Moon is at the wrong depth, very minor issue though imo and there is a workaround from Dorkirt that allows you to remove the moon completely.[/s] Fixed with ENB Shader mod.

Stealth indicator is 2D, there is a mod that allows you to move the position or completely remove it. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=279
It looks like a huge list of problems but the only really annoying one left is the water issue. The crosshair issue is annoying as well, but neither are gamebreaking or frustrating enough to overshadow the game's amazing 3D visuals combined with the immersive gameplay. The default graphics are pretty mediocre, better than Bethesda's past efforts, but with some of the texture mods and tweaks out there you can make the game look outstanding in 3D.

Easiest way to mod Skyrim for those not familiar is to register for the Nexus sites, then grab the Nexus Mod Manager: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/content/modmanager/

Sign in, then start browsing through the mods. You can check out the "Hot Files" for some of the most popular/active mods for Skyrim, or you can check out one of the many compiled lists that give a description of what the mod does and some pictures for comparison. Usually the mods themselves show before/after type pics to help you illustrate the difference. Here's a few lists of the best mods so far for Skrim:
http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/11/25/skyrim-mods-the-20-best-so-far/
http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/top/

Here's the mods I have installed, most are texture improvements, a few modify gameplay to make it less tedious (like the stamina/carry mod). I generally stay away from mods that change the atmosphere of the game too much and mostly stick to mods that keep the same artistic direction but upgrade them with higher fidelity assets. I would personally replace the most problematic textures first, then get an idea of how much you want to change the game mechanics with mods before you change them.

The most important ones imo are the Xenius mods, then the city retextures, and after that the ground cover and flora retextures. Really a huge improvement in graphics once you've made a few changes, especially in 3D.

There's also a bunch of .ini tweaks posted on GeForce.com, [s]Skyrim is not that demanding on graphics cards even in 3D but you will experience some drops in FPS in towns or outdoors even on really fast hardware (i5/i7 4+GHz with GTX4x0/5x0 cards in SLI).[/s] TESVal, SkyBoost and 1.4Beta have improved these low FPS situations considerably on capable hardware. In some cases on capable hardware, near 100% increases in FPS may be realized going from 1.3 to 1.4Beta (30 to 60FPS). Here's a list of the tweaks posted on GeForce.com along with the kind of framerate hits they carry:

http://www.geforce.com/Optimize/Guides/five-fast-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-tweaks-guaranteed-to-make-your-game-look-even-better

But ya this game is outstanding in 3D Vision. Just the mix of atmosphere, gameplay, and story-telling make for an incredibly immersive experience in 3D. I've put both BF3 and Batman Arkham City on hold for this game, so it should tell you where the game stands on my playlist. From the general impression I'm getting in other gaming circles, I'm not the only one. I also highly recommend the 360 controller for this game unless you plan to be a dedicated archer.

Glad to help, but this was more of an assumption, I haven't actually tested patch 1.3, and as you can see here, people have been reporting an increase. Of course this is with DDD, so the safest way would be to test with fraps at a particularly demanding location. I would also like to know if there is an increase/decrease so, please be sure to check-in if you have results to share :), not that you haven't already posted, but better double check before re-installing.

The reflections work great, and at the correct depth - nvidia telling us to turn them off is just lazy testing (big surprise there). In fact, leaving them on actually helps to cover up the real problem.

The shader refraction of objects underwater is the problem - objects are refracted at the wrong depth. You won't get a good explanation of what's wrong because there's such a bizarre mix of working reflection/broken refraction that the effect is hard to explain. Also, in some indoor environments, the light reflection shaders are different than the outdoor environment, and there's some weirdness going on when your weapon overlaps your view of the water.
