Now I am confused...
Can someone make a quick video to show this tearing? Use a phone through one of the glasses lenses on the eye you see it the most...
I've never seen screen tearing and that is what puzzles me...
Unless the performance of problems are related to the fix(shaders, settings) or 3DMigoto(where bo3b and DarkStarSword can take a look) I don't know what we can do about it...
The game has some performance issues since is well very graphically complex and this is what is causing most of the issues especially in LARGE areas like the Soviet Installation & geothermal valley!
I doubt nixxies can do anything about it, unless they reduce the LOD dramatically...
But now I am currious about this tearing issues some of you see..

Hi Helifax
You've just replied to, and quoting, a reply I directed towards Pirate, to explain that testing without the fix was not relevant in my case. It was not directed to you, and was not a continuation of my test attempts. I was just merely quickly pointing out that I had first tried without the community fix, then with it.
Regarding trying what you suggested. If I'm not mistaken, your suggestion was to leave v-sync on automatic in the Panel (it was already on Adaptive in my case, I don't have an option called "automatic") and to use triple buffering in game, but I could not find this option in-game. I'll look again, I had to stop for dinner.
Regarding your more recent suggestions, they do not apply. I don't use Purehair, or AA. And the tearing effect I mention is only visible in 3D. I think it's due to screen "patches" loosing depth temporarily, rather than being displaced temporarily as would happen in the traditional tearing effect.
Also, if you cannot reproduce what I'm seeing it's less motivating for you to search for a solution.
But I did not even ask for a solution from you. I was making an appeal to the community, in case other people experience this as well.
The problem, as usual, is that different people have different tolerances (although what I see would be highly disruptive to anyone, I'm sure) , and also different people will enunciate the problem differently, describing the effects differently etc.
So I can see that it would not be so easy to get down to it. For example, if the example in the map I was giving at point 3 cannot be noticed by other users, then there is definitely something only happening in my setup or I can see it quicker then others.
I will try to post results from time to time if I have something worthy, in case others suffer from the same issue, but I don't want to monopolise this thread.
EDIT
And please, people (D-man), maybe don't get so defensive. I have never complained, I've offered compliments several times, in this thread and others. And my setup details are in my signature.

If you are using Vsync = "Adaptative" in the Nvidia Control Panel....use "ON" or "Let the 3D application decide or something like that"
In my personal testing with different games and driver version, using "Adaptative" produce some noticeable tearing and strange effects on screen. If you ask me the adaptative option is the worst thing to use. Change to "ON" an test again.

@Zappologist:
Hi,
The Triple buffering is the last setting in Options->Display under VSYNC (not Graphics menu) ;)
What I noticed is that if I set Vsync OFF in-game I get screen tearing like hell...
The only thing that sounds remotely to what you see it is what I mentioned in the Known Bugs, where SSAO leaves a trail and doesn't MAP perfectly on geometry at certain angles;)
SSAO ON option is the worse... HBAO+ is actually working close to what it should;) but at certain angles it might look wrong..
If you can make a video through one of the glasses's lenses showing what you see I could at least know what I am looking for;)
Also, try to set Pre-rendered frames to 1 in NVPanel and see if this helps?
For Vsync in Nvpanel I have "Use the 3D Application settings"
EDIT:
Are you using Kepler based GPUS or Maxwell? All my GPUS are Kepler based and I wonder if this is not a Maxwell bug in the drivers perhaps? I can't tell..
I finished the game like 8 times now... Every time 100%. (I know it by hearth now..lol and haven't experienced this problem one single time...so I am at a loss...)

But I know that helifax has at least 3 different PCs and that he often will test out his fixes on each one. I was trying to point out that the more information that you give him, the better chance that he might be able to duplicate it.

It sounds very similar to something we've been experiencing in latest drivers in 3d vision with sli setups. I'm stuck with 358.50 because of this. I did not start playing ROTTR but somebody posted issues with this game as well. please have a look at the dedicated thread :

I reported the bug but it did not get acknpwledged by nvidia. hope they will fix it soon

Just a small update
From Helifax' comment about isolating the effect eye per eye, I noticed the issue was caused by a classical "screen tearing" (displacement of a sector of the screen to left or right, compared to the adjacent sector) - but only in the right eye! Which is why it was difficult at the start to understand exactly what was happening.
I've done a full battery of simple obvious tests, mixing it up the best I could. The only condition that removed the severe tearing was to disable SLI.
Strangely, in single card the fix does not seem to work. There is a lingering stationary "white negative" image in the left eye, as if stuck from the first frame of the firecamp load game. (maybe it has to do with the shaders already cached, so maybe a PC restart would have solved it).
I then used the second profile import technique (the full import, not the NIP), then I swithed SLI back on.
Now the issue is less bothering, still happens but I can live with it.
I will do some more tests tomorrow, to see if I can get the fix going in non-SLI. The performance did not seem to suffer much, and the tearing was totally gone, so I think that running single card would be the best solution for me, to play this game. Hope to make it work tomorrow.
Thank you again for the fix.
Poor Helifax, now I appreciate even better what you've been through with this game. Just running very simple basic tests made me waste 2 hours, due to the retarded load times :-)
EDIT
OMG pbareges, you're right! Only now do I make the connection with that post from necropants, which I forgot about. This must be some new driver shenannigans... This is sooo annoying.
Anyway, I think this fix only works with newer drivers. But at least there is the option to play in single card, if I can find a way to make the fix work

Looks like this issue is rearing it's ugly head again. I just have been very busy and haven't had a chance to post up the comparison videos I promised in that thread but I will hopefully be able to get it done soon.

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but the SBS/TAB in latest fix doesn't work for me using 3DTVPlay. It works in other titles as I have indicated in the 3DVision SBS thread, but this fix leaves the SBS/TAB mode in checkerboard format (which my tv does not actually support). The other titles kick into normal SBS/TAB view without checkerboard when pressing F11 to select those modes despite checkerboard selected in 3DVision settings in order to overcome 720p restriction.
No idea why this one is different. Have same issue with Dirt Rally.

Not sure what is going on there. I am not having any issues with TB and SBS with this game, actually I never have with any of the fixes.

@mgriggs22. Does your TV natively support checkerboard?
EDIT: actually, I was just trying to get TAB working with latest official patch without running the full fix (standard profile etc), so perhaps this isn't possible.
Edit2: yep, have to enable automatic in dx3d.ini to get proper SBS/TAB display (not checkerboarded) with latest official ROTT patch, but then the renderer looks completely broken (you can't then enable 3DVision in game because game no longer thinks 3DVision is available). Catch 22

No, my projector does not support checkerboard.
To my knowledge, the official 3D patch from the devs does not support TB, only SBS. Also, if you are trying to run the SBS/TB fix from Darkstarsword with the official patch, I am not sure that is going to work as the game now has native 3D with that patch.
If you are on the build supported by the community fix, then the latest fix that helifax published should do the trick, as long as you have the DX10 stereo bits in the profile as well. If you don't have the fixed profile, then yes, TB/SBS is messed up.

I reported the bug but it did not get acknpwledged by nvidia. hope they will fix it soon
DX58SO2 Intel Board | i7-970 | SLI 2x Gigabyte GTX 970 4GB stock OC @ 1033/1111 Mhz | 12GB Mem | Windows 10 64bit driver 368.22 | 3D Vision | PJ6221 Viewsonic Projector

No idea why this one is different. Have same issue with Dirt Rally.
Not sure what is going on there. I am not having any issues with TB and SBS with this game, actually I never have with any of the fixes.
