Yeah the only things that a major issue in 3D now is the sky and light around candles/torches and other flames. Not only does the flame lighting look off, but it really cuts the FPS down too, especially during some cutscenes. But 90-some percent of the time, the game runs great in 3D, as said, just about exactly like the first game.
[/quote]
I agree.
"high" settings with 2xAA (dx11) works great for me. depth = 60% /convergence = till the close camera views are correct.

I checked it today myself, and you're right, setting it to high removes all the annoying texture swapping, I almost couldn't believe walking around the city without the incredibly annoying floor texture swapping, the game now looks beautiful in 3d. I have dx11 on, and no problem at all, other than the sky, the game is almost perfect in 3d, right now I consider the game rating as good or even very good, if someone manages to fix the sky it's should be rated as excellent /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Have to agree.
First impressions on very high were horrible, but in high I have everything cranked to the max 8AA, 16AA, SSAO and high res textures and it runs and looks beautifully.

I also recommend raising gamma to values above default 1 or the game seems too dark in S3D. To correct this, open the dragon age 2 config file, which is located in Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age 2. The config file is NOT DragonAgeConfig, it is simply named "DragonAge". There is an option in there that should say Gamma, and if it's at it's brightest it will say 1. Change that value to something like 1.5 (so it will say Gamma=1.5) This will allow you to go back into dragon age 2, and go to the option screen, and set the gamma from any value between 0 and 1.5 instead of 0 and 1. I personally play at 1.5. Credits for the hint goes to Howfish at Gamepot forums.

I'm having a strange issue. Whenever I enable 3d vision my framerates are getting locked at 30. If I ctrl t, they're locked at 60. This is using dx9 on medium with 2 gtx480s so I know I can get higher fps I made sure vsync is disabled and I changed the refresh rate in the ini file to 120 but nothing changes it. I've checked every place that would change my refresh rate to 60 or vsync but can't fix it. Its annoying trying to play in 3D at 30fps.
I can't try it in dx11 because im still using the older 3D vision surround drivers that keep dx9 games playable (check the vision surround forum if you haven't heard of the issue). I tried the newest drivers last night but they make world of warcraft unplayable in surround.

It's LOCKED at 30, not just drifting around 30? That's really strange. The only guess I can make is that one of the monitor's refresh rates has been set to 60 in the Windows screen resolution advanced settings.

Thanks, just checked that and everything is fine. I'm pretty sure it's because I'm using the old drivers. If I disable 3D Vision in the nvidia control panel, my FPS are in the 90s...but if 3D Vision is enabled in the control panel and I disable it with ctrl T, the framerate is locked at 60. Maybe I'll just update the drivers for now and switch back when I play more WoW again.

Just wanted to say that the new beta drivers released today drastically improved my performance. Now I get 30+ FPS in 3D, DX11, Very High graphics and Very High textures, 2x AA and i think 8x AF. Until I installed these drivers, I had to keep graphics detail at just High setting.

Great, so it's confirmed that it now renders most objects correctly with the Very High Texture pack?

Well there arent a bunch of black spots and stuff in the textures like back when i tried running the game in dx11 very high back when it first came out. The only things that dont render properly is the sky and that glow lighting around torches/candles/fire. My only other gripe is having to keep my convergence lower than i would like because of how the dialogue and cutscenes are. And of course the lack of 2D cursor can get annoying now and then, but i learned how to deal with that many 2D cursor games ago.
Overall I'd rate the game as Good. If only bioware or nvidia would do something about that sky problem, it would be damn near excellent in my book. although, tbh, with the perspective in this game you arent often looking up anyway.
