This patch is a helluva lot better than what we had. First no hack is therefore needed, and second, we can all finely use SLI (for me, I use QUAD SLI). I can't stand having to turn SLI off for some games and on for others.
The SLI support is..meh...
Just out of curiosity...use the hack and rename the game to re5dx10.exe and you will see full SLI utilization. I still get very low fps without doing this... Once I am using the re5dx10.exe scheme I get to 50fps in 3D Surround without the need to lower AAA, or other things. (SSAO is on normal).
As for the 3D..."I told you so". It was kinda obvious that this is what they will do: Make their AMD3D solution available to 3D Vision. Funny thing is that using max depth and 35% 3D plane I get weird lightning problems, shadows etc as they are still rendered in 2D:(
So, I don't think they will modify their 3D rendering any time soon:(

I think we can get that with in game 3D rendering also, as you can see it's real 3D now too, not like before patch. We just need more control.
max 3D plane setting is that closest object are at 0 depth, so some more it so we can make it pop out a bit. And a lot more max depth, i just can't understand why it's so damn low at max? Maybe some FOV adjustment would help also.
What method and settings are you using? I believe you said you are using official native support in the latest patch. What 3D Plane settings? I'm assuming max 3D Strength? Your screenshot showed decent depth/separation for objects in the near-field but that's the problem, it seems like the game only has real 3D in the few meters in front of the camera (gun, close objects, railing in your screenshot), everything in the distance is plastered to a 2D canvas at the same depth. We need to extend depth into the distance....increasing separation values won't matter if it just increases separation uniformly for objects further away than maybe 10m.
Clear example here, that rajkoderp posted over at 3D Vision Blog: http://images.rajko.info/Screenshot-2011-10-20_15.21.35.jpg
You can clearly see objects once superimposed all have the same amount of separation except for the HUD, meaning its a 2D image in stereo.

You contributed to a thread there that came the closest to illustrating the problem with separation amounts. Maybe if someone at Nixxes/Eidos has a 3D Vision kit we can show them some screenshots we've put together here to help them piece together the problem, but I'm not really optimistic. Its sad to see that they've gotten S3D so wrong when this game has the potential to be amazing in 3D. There's also a comment from Nixxes at the end about 3D Vision support details, but nothing about fixing the perceived "lack of depth" problem people are having with the game.

i have the game through steam, when it loads my emitter turns on and i can even enable the 3d cross hair but i get no 3d effect what so ever. not the menu, not the game, nothing. in video settings 3d is red and cannot be selected. anyone else getting this?

With 3d Vision enabled is the game laggy and jerky for me, almost unplayable.
I have 45-55 fps but it looks like 15fps when im looking around.
When i diasable 3D Vision is the game nice smooth.

Question: Does the Depth hack help or solve the problem?
I notice in Jamir's screenshot when taking the glasses off that there is some pretty good separation there if you look at the lines. Im viewing that screenshot 1 meter away from a 46" 3dtv, so that high fov, essentially magnifying the image, might effect my opinion.

Not sure if what you're describing is the same as I'm experiencing but it might be... I don't need any hacks, the game's own 3d options are all disabled and can't be enabled, but 3d vision can be activated as normal. When I am playing however everything seems ok, except when I actually turn around. There is a weird kind of strobing which I think is caused because of the images for each eye not updating in sync. If I close either eye when turning it looks the same as in 2d, no strobing at all, it's very weird...
EDIT: nvm, it seems that the strobing effect was being caused by the display drivers once again setting my focus display to one of my monitors instead of my projector. Stop doing that already /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />

I don't have to stop the stereoscopic service, it works as described without doing so here. However the high convergence/low depth tires me way too quickly :(
