Paramount has stopped producing 3D blurays, which is a shame. If the only way to watch this in 3D is going to the theatres I rather not do it, it would only make it worse knowing I won't be able to have a home copy.

You can't even get them bootlegged. They aren't produced nor released. there is no Bluray 3D for Mission Impossible: Fallout, There is no Bluray 3D for Bumblebee. I doubt they will be releasing a bluray 3D for this.
I hope they do, but I"m not holding my breath.

That blows. I just hope other studios don't start following suit.
btw does 3D Vision do anything with movies? Or is there some Nvidia software that deals with movies?
Some projectionist needs to pirate the 3D version then!
I'll but the 2D copy and watch the pirated version :P
I suppose there is no helix mod for movies
No, there isn't.
But funny you should ask...
I just posted this
Interesting, BlueSkyKnight mentions he is working on a 2D to 3D movie converter based on LGs work. I hope this pans out, it would most likely be a step above all others. I would think that it would allow individual profiles for each movie, like SuperDepth3D for games.
"By the way, what is your goal with 'Dimension_Plus'?"
"It is a 2D to 3D Conversion shader that I need to rewrite It's not a shader people should use right now. It's mainly for 2D Video. It's based on LGs paper on real-time 2D conversion. Real Hit and miss."

It might be a viable solution for stereoscopic movies. Current 2D-3D conversions use algorithms to do the conversion. Some seem slightly better than others, which must be a proprietary thing. Or maybe just my imagination.
But if BlueSkyKnight actually sees this through, it could possibly be a game changer. Dunno
lol@me, if BlueSkyKnight was referring to using this for cutscenes in games :P

Good conversion needs to be done by hand and not automate.
I usually say its no matter 3d always wins even bad 3d, but im not that shure anymore.
Bad conversion is pretty bad.
People Are Lazy and hardware Was not generally good enough. Big companys fucked this one up.

I recall many posters on the AV Science forums saying that the 3D-Bee was the best. It was out of my price range with what I was willing to spend, when there were so many other options available. Like the included option in my LG and JVC TVs. It's definitely not real good, but can sometimes be enjoyable. More so in old Black and White movies.

I wasn't really into 3D movies until recently, probably in the last few months. I always had 3D tv's but for 3D vision. Until I got my LG 4K C6 TV and it blew me away. LG perfected 3D, but by the time they did with the OLED's TV, it was already too late. They discontinued it right after. I think this generation of 3D TVs came out too early, with clumsy tech. If it had came out 2 years ago with 4K TV, maybe we could have had 4K HDR 3D Movies. Nowadays even the 3D conversions done properly look better than real 3D footage, or at least just as good, IMO. This was not the case when 3D first came out; the conversions were crap. sometimes I wondered what was the point of even wearing glasses with early movies? All of the Marvel Movies after Guardians of the Galaxy onward are amazing on 3D, for example.
When we finally got the proper display for it, and the proper technique to make 3D amazing. It is taken away from us :(. I started collecting 3D movies recently for this reason. I have bought over a 100 3D Blu ray movies in the last couple of months. Just got Fantastic beast 2 yesterday from BestBuy, and I'm waiting on Aquaman 3D this week. Most of them don't get released here on the US, so I was lucky to get those 2.. Most of them now I have to import them. The new Wreck It Ralph breaks the Internet is Japan release only and it costs about $70 to import. F that.

I just saw the new trailer for Toy Story 4 and it looks awesome. I sure hope I can buy it in 3D. I have 1, 2 and 3 in 3D that I bought in a set from UK Amazon because it was so much cheaper than the US.
