How to fix/disable shaders in games(DLL,guide and fixes).

yeah I always test at first with april 1st release. I did try with debug too, no results /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' /> quite curious
my dumbass had left the steam overlay on, unfortunately it didn't help to close it /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />
speaking of which, something has just hit me, I just realized fallout 3 is a GFWL game, by what sort of sorcery do the wrappers work with it? that's a very rare thing.

@Anisotonic:
I've not experimented so much with presets but I remember I had some problems too, if you try an helix fix with preset make me know if it changes presets when you press a key (it doesn't for me).. I'm wondering, could it be a problem of keyboard layout? (US, UK etc...)
@eqzitara:
could you send me a 3dpicture of reflections? Do I have any chance to see water in the demo?

During my lunch break I had a chance to try out the shadow fix for Diablo 3 and it worked in the few spots that I checked that were broken before. One weird thing that I noticed is that the proxylib setting in DX9Settings.ini doesn't work - I even tried a couple different version of d3d9.dll. Not a big deal as fixing the 3D issues is the highest priority but it would have been nice to use the sharpness feature of the injectFXAA I was using.

Actually you are not wrong. I use exactly this trick in a couple of games, Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim. Not sure if it is fluke, but it works.
.....
I am not sure why this aspect of the Helix DLL is not given more prominence, since everyone has been begging Nvidia for convergence presets for years, and here it is, right now. It is quite possible that is does not work for all game fixes since I have only tried it with a few of them.

MAN ........ thats really nice , I tried this out and it works flawlessly !!! Convergence presets in Skyrim ... !!! :-)
Thank you very much Helix and mike_ar69
I used to play in third person and only switch to first person during conversation or archery or when I examine things .
This is very helpful . I had played the whole game with Tridef for that reason (I had mapped "R"-key to "Toggle-Focus/Autofocus" feature in tridef therefore ).
mike_ar69 , I have changed your dx9settings.ini to my needs :

And ... the shadows take half a second to recalculate when switching between presets ... but ... no problem.
Thanks to the community and especially to Helix .... very nice ..
I've rapidly tested presets and it doesn't work for me using for example 'o' and 'p' as presetkeys, but it does work if I declare '9' and '0' as presetkeys!!
That could be a matter of different keyboard layouts... anyway I suggest using numbers as presetkeys, that should works for everyone!
I.e. the ini settings posted by stepsbarto should work for everyone... here below are the only needed lines for a generic game:
@eqzitara:
I've attached a possibile solution for diablo3 reflections but I can't say if it works... I should see a stereo picture retraing the issue at least.

That's interesting, I had noticed a similar thing in Skyrim - I could not use the "-" or "=" keys either (so I ended up using "8", which is one of the Skyrim quick key slots so if you assign something to it it will select it when you change preset). I am going to have a play tonight, see what does and does not work. I will note that key codes are different for upper and lower case letters, so if Caps lock is on that will mess things up.
I also had another thought while driving into work - perhaps we can set >100% separation using this method as well? If anyone wants to try that it would be
interesting, and eliminate the whole editing of the registry for monitor size and so on.

Using the link provided by Helix on the WIKI site (http://gregstoll.dyndns.org/~gregstoll/floattohex/) for converting between the hex values and float values:
110% = 0x42dc0000
120% = 0x42f00000
130% = 0x43020000
150% = 0x43160000
175% = 0x432f0000
200% = 0x43480000
I'm going to try tonight. Using the editing registry trick, 125% works well for me in Skyrim, but it's a pain (I was using Autohotkeys etc etc) so this will be great if it works.

You actually cant even see reflections even in 3d if your model is 2d with glasses off(how I play)/2d. Just disable them in my opinion. They put reflections in game but dont use them.

I'm sorry but sincerely I can't see any issue or reflection in that images... maybe it's my fault but I don't see what I should try to fix. Although the second image is too difficult to focus at for me.. my eyes hurts with a so high convergence level. Do you think it could be better and we could try to improve that.. or I've just to disable the reflection effect? ..Meantime I'm making a page in the blog and I'll eventually update later.

I disabled it. Use the shader i included here http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=222386&view=findpost&p=1410870
Just put into vertexshaders folder.
What I was trying to say is there are no water reflections in 2d. We only see them in 3d due to their is no value in W. Character models overlap reflections in 2d.

It does not work :-( However, depth <100% can be changed in the presets, so that might still be useful for some people.

I click a .bat before playing games to increase my depth maximum. You can use it in conjunction to do what you want. http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=212298
Ok Diablo3 page is up in the blog! :)
I was trying to fix the hud too to put nameplates on characters' head but I think it's a nonsense... the mouse pointer is 2d so I think playing with default convergence isn't an option. The best way of playing it should be with convergence at about 90, as the cursor aligns with characters. I've tried to make a preset but when I press the presetkey nothing changes.

110% = 0x42dc0000
120% = 0x42f00000
130% = 0x43020000
150% = 0x43160000
175% = 0x432f0000
200% = 0x43480000
I'm going to try tonight. Using the editing registry trick, 125% works well for me in Skyrim, but it's a pain (I was using Autohotkeys etc etc) so this will be great if it works.
[General]
Preset1Key = 56 //'8' key
Preset2Key = 57 //'9' key
Preset3Key = 48 //'0' key
DefPreset = 3 //default preset
[Preset1]
Convergence = 0x41fff4dd
Separation = 0x42c80000
UseSepSettings = true
[Preset2]
Convergence = 0x40f60b6d
Separation = 0x42c80000
UseSepSettings = true
[Preset3]
Convergence = 0x43712724
Separation = 0x42c80000
UseSepSettings = true
@eqzitara:

You actually cant even see reflections even in 3d if your model is 2d with glasses off(how I play)/2d. Just disable them in my opinion. They put reflections in game but dont use them.

I'm wondering, could it be a problem of keyboard layout? (US, UK etc...)

this crossed my mind actually, I do use canadian multilingual standard, I'll try with the numpad today and report back
