I need Help getting Stereoscopic 3D enabled with my AOC G2460PG
I am new into nvidias 3D Vision and wanted to test it out (even if it might be a bit late for this technologie), but I can not run the nvidia 3D setup. I have a 3D compatible Monitor (AOC G2460PG) with built-in IR-emitter(at least I think so) and I also have nvidia 3D v2 Glasses. Grafic card: Geforce GTX 970 OS: Windows 10 The monitor and the grafic card driver are up to date. I connect my Monitor via DisplayPort. So if I start the 3D setup from the nvidia control panel, it asks me to connect the IR-emitter(and I can not continue). But I am pretty sure my Monitor has a built in IR-emitter: http://i.imgur.com/owhCSbB.jpg My Monitor even switchs automatically to 3D mode when I am in the setup, but thats it then. None of these options in the setup helps me: http://i.imgur.com/rIsFfxT.jpg So how do I enable/configurate 3D with a built in IR-emitter? In the manual of my Monitor, they only refer to nvidias site which isn't helpful at all and I did not find any instructions on google either, I feel like nobody every tried 3D on this monitor. You guys are my last hope, pls help or I wasted my money on thoose glasses...

Welcome to the 3D Vision forums :) Did you buy the glasses separately without the emitter ? What made you think that the monitor has a built-in IR emitter ? From what I searched on Google it doesn't have one.

Look at the picture, what else is this thing in the front?: http://i.imgur.com/owhCSbB.jpg, That is no Power LED or something like similar. I mean they won't build that thing in the front without any use do they? In the discription on the Monitor it says "3D ready all you need is nvidia Glasses". I slowly start to think it really has no built in IR-emitter, but that would be pretty embrassing for me, because you can not buy ir emitter seperatly. Are you sure about that? I mean I found nothing on google either, but only because it don't seems like many people are using this monitor. And of course I bought it without ir emitter, because that thing is pretty expensive, I mean nvidia is crazy for still selling that kit for 200€, I bought the glasses seperatly (used once).

I'm pretty sure the description doesn't say "3D ready all you need is glasses" rofl Unfortunately there's no mention of a built-in emitter on the official AOC store nor on any site that reviewed this monitor. You should've done some research before buying it.. or the glasses separately that is :(

And again what else is that strange thing: http://i.imgur.com/owhCSbB.jpg, any other explanation? I know that there is nothing to find, all I found was stupid review sites, but they never reviewed the 3D function of the monitor. And of course my quote was not quite corret, but look what they wrote on thier site: http://us.aoc.com/product_feature.php?id=21
"The G2460PG is both NVIDIA 3D Vision and NVIDIA 3D Vision 2 Ready so you can transform your experience with immersive 3D full HD 1080p technology. With NVIDIA 3D Vision™ 2 glasses technology and the required NVIDIA graphics card" ... ... ... "It requires the additional NVIDIA 3D Vision 2 Kit for immersive 3D enjoyment. (please visit http://store.nvidia.com/ for NVIDIA 3D Vision and NVIDIA 3D VIsion 2 kit, and http://www.3dvisionlive.com for compatible graphics cards)"
Hmm well as I now read it correctly it says "Kit" which maybe means the Kit with the IR emitter ... Very misleading package then, because on the package itself it just say I only need the Glasses... Well f**k me -_- Okay one last question is the Ir emitter from the Nvidia glasses version 1 compatible with the Version 2? Because that would be a hell cheaper.

Yes if you look at other 3D Vision monitors, they specifically say if the monitor has a built-in IR emitter because that's an important feature they're trying to sell :) And yep both V1 and V2 emitters are compatible with your V2 glasses. Please do come back on the forums if you have any more questions. Cheers

That makes sense, even tho I never noticed that the brightness got adjusted automatically by the brightness around ^^' Maybe I need to turn that on somewhere (the settings of the monitor are just horrible). Strange that this isn't mentioned anywhere in the manual. Well thank you guys, this is a very helpful forum!

Hi, I'm wanting to buy an Aoc g2460pg monitor to use with nvidia 3d vision 2 kit but I'm confused as some retailers websites say it is compatible with 3d when others say it is not. Are all models compatible or should I just buy it from the ones that list it as compatible ? Thanks
