Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor {3D Screenshots}

You`ll be good with any. DA:I is actually too close to Witcher 3 that`s why you might be better off if you change the pace. Shadow Mordor is like Batman games - sneaking and fighting combined with amazing story. Also with DA:I you have to change a lot in your system to get it right. I hope you`ve forged your patience playing W3 because this game might drive you crazy. The amount of crashes are incomparable to anything else.

Let me hear it one more time - you`ve finished Witcher 3 ?!
I'm going through a complicated time in my life. financially, physically and even romantically. So I'm not exacltly "proud" of how much time I've spent playing TW3 already. I've literally become a hermit and have foregone eaten for 3 days (not in a row) since it came out. Don't judge me :-( :-) next up... DA;I or Shadow of M which has better 3d vision?
Both are really awesome games! I honestly love DA:I very much and is absolutely gorgeous in 3D Vision. Mordor is as well a very nice game! However, for both games you will have to go back to 347.x driver or 350.12. If you don't the 3D Vision fix will either break or not work in DA:I. Nothing we can do about it;( except love Nvidia for breaking more stuff ^_^ So, either games are awesome! DA:I is way longer than Mordor...so depends how much time you want to sink/have available:) I recommend BOTH!

Hi Guys, I am playing this with the 347.52 driver, latest 3dmigoto and the fixes from bo3b's Mordor directory in the 3dmigoto repository. Everything looks great except the icons above bosses which i see double. Also the aiming with the bow shows a double crosshair. Finally, the key bindings do not seem to be picked up. Is there any way i can check to see if stuff gets loaded and is working? Or am a trying a non working combination? Thanks in advance for any pointers. PS I get an d3d11_log.txt showing no errors.

To get this to work better, also include the d3dx.ini file, one directory above. That sets critical parameters that the shaders need.

Hi bo3b, Thanks for your prompt reply. I did include the ini file and edited it for playing and not hunting. Maybe some keyboard hook is not picked up so that the crosshair fix does not get triggered. That doesn't explain the boss nameplates (proper depth, wrong convergence) though. I'll fall back to the fix from the site for now.

If you use any other d3dx.ini file those will be missing.

Yes, thats the one. I changed all the logging flags to 0 and set the hunting flag to 0 as well. The Keyboard bindings are left as is.

Looks like my wrapper works fairly good in Mordor again. Same fix as usually but no longer a strange steam error after ini load but before D3D11CreateDevice. Something strange is happening in that game. It cannot run on my normal wrapper.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!

Overall, 3D fixes look great (at least with 347.52 driver). Noticed that, in main game, when the weather is stormy and raining in various areas, the flashing lightning creates a colored checkerboard pattern on the ground. Additionally, some of the shader fixes do not appear to work in The Bright Lord DLC (Lord of the Hunt is OK).

You must be using a different DLL? The old versions did not support the same keymapping. Try using the latest version here: https://github.com/bo3b/3Dmigoto/releases/download/0.99.50-alpha/3Dmigoto-1.1.16.zip

My bad, the ShaderFixes folder there is not a complete set at present, so that's why it's not working correctly. Let me see if I can put something complete out today, it's actually fairly close. One interesting thing that I ran across is that I'm presently running 350.12, for GTA happiness. And Mordor was completely broken here earlier, no text in Sauron's Army screen, worse, the QTE circle to avoid death was missing. Ran this and saw that it had no profile, which was weird. I had done a full import of shaders though using the Geforce tool. Importing ONLY the Mordor profile here, I now get fixed text, SLI scaling, perfect game. So... I think this might be why Helifax is having more success than us in GTA5 and Witcher, he's been importing profiles and doing other changes, not just relying upon the driver profiles. Just a thought, might not prove out, but it might be that the profiles are being botched somehow in recent drivers and that is the source of the problems. It would be really interesting to export all profiles from various drivers, and import them into a database where we could compare them for changes.

Sounds interesting! A regular diff tool to compare various nvidiaprofiles.txt files would go a long way already. Araxis merge maybe, or the one built into the jetbrains editors. Thanks again for digging into this, I'm playing mordor until witcher gets better and GTA just doesn't hit my spot.

OK, here is an update for the UI elements in the game. And the update is posted to the HelixModBlog as well. This is a particularly challenging game, because the shaders are all over the place and used for multiple items. This is running pretty nicely though. I might tweak it a little more as I play through for one more update. There are lot of small glow effects that are very hard to catch. Hey, awesome! I've been waiting for a UI update, and after completing AC:Unity last night, I was contemplating what to play next. Thanks for answering that question for me!
