Need similar solution used in Mass Effect 2 for Dead Space
Hi

I have just got Dead Space and I notice the issues are very similar to ME2. In ME2, the shadow-like image doubling which occured where ever there was fog was completely fixed by adding:
FloatingPointRenderTargets=false
to the gamersetting.cfg.

Is there a similar setting for Dead Space? If so where would I find it? (Steam version)

Thanks!

Andy

If there aren't any settings to change to get desired results there is a program called texmod. It only works in dx9 and not with all games. However when it works it enable you to select and dump textures for editing. You can use photoshop and the nvidia .dds-plugin (if you exported in dds-format). When launching the game you start texmod, load your modified textures and launch the game through texmod. It's quite a lot of work though.
Edit: I mean edit problematic textures to simply become invisible. /teehee.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':teehee:' />

Thanks for the reply

but

I dont think that will sort out the problem.

The FloatingPointRenderTargets=false toggle removes a sort of ambient mist that permiated the entire game. Removing the mist type thing made the texture look a little ropey but I dont think it physically changed the textures.

The item textures are ok its just the doubling you get in the mist when behind a light source. This fog is not the localised fog you get in certain rooms etc it seems to be everywhere like a shader i guess.

The solution i posted is to get rid of anomalies by making certain textures invisible. I didn't know the ambient mist messed up the entire game though.

Thanks for the reply,

No offense but although many textures are a bit messed up in the game, it's not (I think) the textures. Have a look at the screenie. I have just started playing DS and I have just noticed it does seem more pronounced on fog. Its like the shadow is cast on the fog but it shouldnt be. (isnt there when 3D is off)

Soz if that is what you have been trying to tell me and I have been a stubborn idiot but I would rather be sure before learning an editing tool if you know what I mean.

It's the volumetric fog! Can this be turned off somehow?[/b]
