World of Warcraft used to work flawlessly, now unplayable in 3D
Thanks bro!!!!!
That worked perfectly. Except I have to adjust my depth any time it loads but at least it is playable.
You're welcome, whodamanxbox. It's a pleasure to hear that it works for somebody else, too!
I seriously was beginning to fear that I hallucinate when I see 3d in WoW without interface glitches :).
The depth resets for me, too (due to ingame depth, lower bar, setting to the utmost left) - but It's just a turn of the scroll wheel on the emitter, easily done.

Yeah the thing about that fix is that you have to do it every time you zone into an instance...so when you're doing a random daily, people don't really want to wait for you to take a couple of minutes to get your screen settings right before you start tanking or healing for them. I just turned my 3D vision off until they fix it because I'm using the new Alienware monitor so I can't use my old drivers anymore :(

Not to deter from all the helpful advice going on here, but i have a question. Im going to buy the kit exclusively to play wow. I have a mitsu 65" 120mhz dlp. Will i be able to use the older, working, drivers to play wow while the newer ones are fixed? I know that after using the kit i will go out and buy more games, but my concern at the moment is wow. Thanks for your time.

You guys are lucky you can use older drivers, i wish i could. Alienware monitor won't work with any but the most recent. So here i am still waiting on any *official* word of an upcoming possible fix. /verymad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':verymad:' />

Could anyone point me to a region that looks the best 3D? I dont have the 2rd expansion only the 1st one. As you can tell I dont play it now I just want to see some cool bits. Thousand Needles looked cool. A great sense of vertigo. :)

I had a bit more time and got Wow working with the latest drivers, but it still is not as perfect as with the older drivers. The 3D doesnt have the feeling of depth as before hand.
I will revert back to the old driver and wait for a fix for the new drivers or a new driver.

Glad you figured it out!
The 3d depth effect for me is even better with the newer drivers - but it just might be me getting used to maximum depth (playing at 100% finally, mindblowing).
What is worse though indeed is the pop-out effects - with the older driver you were free to push your convergence point deeper into the screen, creating more pop-out. On the other hand this pop-out often becomes too much with close objects and with the interface on it very often collides with the interface elements and breaks then.
In sum this is the best 3d experience I had with WoW so far, but that's obviously a question of personal preference. In any case this bug should be fixed, if not for me, then for countless others who dont know about the workaround, can't get it to work or who simply like more convergence.

Those who are still in the dark with no playable 3D in WoW, here is your last hope.
Use bobarr's method to fix the convergence in game (the ctrlf5/f6/f7) to get 1 action bar, forget about the rest.
Exit the game and open wtf directory of WoW, locate, backup and open config.wtf
inside you should find a line that looks like
SET gxStereoConvergence "1.00000000000000"
copy the above line to it, save then restart WoW.
This is a manual way of fixing the problem where user just can't set the correct value for "screen depth". I don't know if the value 1 works for everyone, but worth a try if anything else has failed.
This method still has problem like the one with the old driver, but less serious when it works.

Thanks for that, I really wan the full fix as I has Warcraft looking like it was little models, it was amazing. Now with the convergence and layers up the spout the effect is decent but not outstanding like it was before.

first please excuse my english. It is not my native language.
I ordered the 3D Vision Kit yesterday (the one with Samsung monitor). It should arrive tomorrow hopefully.
Today morning I found this forum and thread and now I am a little annoyed or unsure. My most popular game is WOW. Especially for this I bought the 3D Vision system. But there seems to be heavy problems. I am running a GTX280 SLI sytem with quadcore cpu.
In the beginning of this thread I read the information to use 190.62 graphic card drivers and the v1.11 driver cd for 3d vision. Can I expect WOW will run and perform fine with these drivers ? Or do I have to do anything other actions?

At first it looks dreadful (many things the wrong depth etc) but the method mentioned in this post sorts it out completely and once you have done it - no worries.
The mouse is in 2D which is a pain but you can lower depth (which just isn't as cool) or just get used to aiming at the center of the two mouse icons.

Any news on this, Andrew?
