A new small detail (I've also written it now in the blog): the "Lower HUD" setting has to be "6" or higher. The hit bar of Makoto will look wrong if it's at "5" or less. I don't want to risk not applying the fix to a bigger area, so I won't change the current condition value in the fix.

I'm working on Centralfiction right now. The Chronophantasma fix works for the most part. I had to fix the perfect guard shader again. This time I'll try to make a fix for the TVs that copy the game image. The problem is that it's the same shader as the Hakumen symbols and they need a different correction. I could filter by "r0.z" to make it correct, but once the camera zooms out even a little bit, TVs break again. I wonder if the camera zoom is somewhere in the shaders. It would be useful for character sprites too (they are only perfect when it isn't zoomed out).

I have avoided these games because all the different versions confuse me. Is it not best just to buy the latest one? as this seems to be iterations of the same fighting game. and which on is the latest one? haha

The order is: Calamity Trigger, Continuum Shift Extend, Chronophantasma Extend, Centralfiction. I'm fixing the latest one, which is also the first that can run at 1920x1080 internally. There are also some gameplay changes in each version, and of course more characters. I play them mostly for the story and characters. The story is long, although some games have recaps of the older ones (the second has a recap of the true ending of the first one).

It's taking more time than usual because I'm making extra stuff: 1- This is the first game in the series that doesn't have bloom and HUD in the same shader. So this time I'm putting the HUD into depth. 2- I was tired of the camera zoom out making the characters be at incorrect depth, so I'm making a workaround. There's a "r0.z" value that tells me the depth of the sprites, but it's range is too small to be useable as a multiplier (or I'm doing something wrong). Instead, I'm using it for comparisons with static values to make 9 depth steps (edit: better 13. Some attacks make the camera zoom in. I have just fixed that). It looks good enough. However, some shaders don't have that depth value(like the Izayoi weapon aura. I'll probably have to give up on this one), or use different depth values that I have to find out (character reflection in the ground). I think the character depth thing can be used for the previous games, but I'll wait until I make this one pretty much perfect. Also, the TVs image fix interferes with one of Izanami's distortion attacks, so I'll have to disable that permanently.

Things are going well. Today I discovered and fixed a shader (blue lighting on Noel during certain normal attacks) that needed correction because it wasn't the same for both eyes when the sprites weren't at screen depth. One of the few things left to fix is dynamic depth for character reflections. I need to test the story mode just in case too. I think the fix will be ready this week, or the next if I don't finish checking all game modes in time. But before Vanquish, that's for sure. Work in progress fix for those interested: https://s3.amazonaws.com/masterotaku/BlazBlue+Centralfiction/BlazBlue_Centralfiction_3D_WIP3.7z Reflections are at the wrong depth when the camera zooms in or out. But it's pretty much fearure complete.

Yay! Reflections at the same depth as the other sprites. I was reusing some register that was already in use in that shader. Copy-pasting mistake :p. So, next WIP version: https://s3.amazonaws.com/masterotaku/BlazBlue+Centralfiction/BlazBlue_Centralfiction_3D_WIP4.7z This has sped up my work a lot. I haven't said this before, I think, but you need to assign the game exe to the 3D-Hub profile and play in "full window" mode that you can select inside the game. Exclusive fullscreen gives me a flashing black screen (it may be because of Windows 10).

The Centralfiction fix is on the blog now. The download link is this, in case someone wants to download it directly from here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/masterotaku/BlazBlue+Centralfiction/BlazBlue_Centralfiction_3D_Vision_fix.7z I'm tired :p. The fix has some more fixed things than the previous WIP version, like fixed edge cases for sprites and HUD, and also one more fixed shader for story mode.

Since I have almost a week of free time before Vanquish, I'm updating (not on the blog yet. I'll post again when it's done) the Chronophantasma Extend fix (which should be backwards compatible with the first two games), even with 4 more depth steps than Centralfiction. It's for one of the final bosses where the camera is far away. Now it looks perfect. I have also made those changes for Centralfiction, but they are largely unnecessary. If I update the fix and you don't download it, you won't miss anything. By the way, the Centralfiction SGSSAA method works for Chronophantasma Extend. And woah, sound quality is a lot worse in that older game :p.

I have updated the date of the post containing the fix for the three first games, to make it appear on the front page. I have also included supersampling instructions. Use the Chronophantasma Extend fix for all games (it adds a few shaders compared to the first two games. I don't think it will break anything). The Noel sprite lighting is also fixed now, as in Centralfiction, and corrected the perfect guard formula.

Attention!!!!! The latest BlazBlue Centralfiction started using D3D9EX, so now "DX9Settings.ini" needs the "UseExtInterfaceOnly = true" line. Also, the update has fixed the exclusive fullscreen problem (good to avoid stuttering and input lag), but it also broke the main characters sprite. I have to dump and fix it. I'll post again when it's fixed, and update and push the blog post after that.

Aaaaand done. That was faster than expected. Only one shader was broken (different pixel shader). I left the original in there just in case. Extra depth steps, by the way, although I'm not sure they will be needed. Get the fix from the installation steps of the blog post (or just here). The file should be https://s3.amazonaws.com/masterotaku/BlazBlue+Centralfiction/BlazBlue_Centralfiction_3D_Vision_fix_v1.04.7z

New game patch, fix broken again :p. But it's for a good cause. The game now supports higher resolutions (and I mean internally too), up to 3840x2160. A shame that it came so late, after having played the game a lot. I'll start working on an updated fix right now.
