Pixel inversion is annoying. Why does it have to exist? :(
I took a screenshot of it and then viewed it in my VG278HE and of course it went from vertical line interleaved to checkerboard looking.
I'm curious if all of the G-Sync 3D Vision monitors show it as a vertical line interleaved pattern or is it due to the increased resolution of 2560x1440?
It's definitely easier to live with on my VG278HE than the S2716DG.
I have the VG278HE. I think I am going to sell my HTC vive and get the Rog Swift, I have the oculus CV1 so I really don't need two headsets. Hope I am not making a mistake.
I expect you will be OK. The Vive is much more impressive in VR at the moment, but I expect Oculus to do room scale at the end of the year with Touch Controllers. And the Rift is vastly more comfortable and refined than Vive.
Mate - I still have that older Asus (VG278H) at home. I was going back to it at some point when games didn`t work in SLI on ROG Swift. I`ll tell you that it felt like going from PC to Console. No joke. That Resolution drop is deadly and you need some time to get use to with. Also the colours and sharpness of the image is just so noticeable that you can`t resist to have that impression - like you going back to some forgotten generation.
I thing that VG278H had less ghosting in 3D but also weaker contras and brightness of the image, which was making me feel like I`m loosing some quality content.
I still have good opinion about this Monitor thou. I am only judging after using ROG Swift.
I just stumbled over some pretty exciting news! Didn't try it myself yet but judging from what is said in the article this little trick should improve Rift's image quality in a very significant way!

Well I got my pg278q a couple days ago, haven't spent a lot of time yet on it, but damn is it much sharper, and having the extra real estate is nice. Only tried bf4 and assetto corsa so far though. And the only reason I see for SLI is for games I do not have yet except witcher 3, will probly kill my framerate.

People expect Oculus to do room scale when Touch arrives, and I'm not so sure about that. First Oculus has never said they will support it, but the Vive has a huge advantage: the camera. If you play in room scale, sooner or later the cable is going to get tangled. Just activate the camera, put the cable properly and back in the game, 10 seconds. With Oculus, you have to remove the hmd or you're going to pull the headset from your computer in no time. The camera also let's you interact with anyone in the room, avoid mascots, reposition yourself, drop and get controllers again without issues, interact with the computer for whatever reason, etc.
If anyone believes that Oculus will do room scale just as well as Vive, that's because they have never tried the Vive with the camera, it's as important as full room tracking.

Seems to me 3D vision (or at least 3DTV Play) is basically dead. 2016 and no official support for 1080p 60Hz despite HDMI 2.0 being out for several years.
Given the choice on my 65" 4k LG (1080p 24hz or 4K 2D), I choose 4k gaming all the time because its actually way more immersive on a 65" screen.
I have 2 GTX 1080's in SLI, I've given up on 3D gaming but the Rift/Vive shows promise. I don't expect AAA games to be VR ready but VR specific applications are already superior to 3D vision games as far as 3D impressiveness (and immersion).

Exposed123 - have you tried 4K EDID mod with your TV? It supports interlaced 4K 3D @ 60 fps, and your GPUs can handle the display processing load. 3DTV Play is not required.
3D Vision and the great community game fixes look superb on my 4K OLED. I suggest trying some recent games like Rise of the Tomb Raider, Phantom Pain, Witcher 3, and Dark Souls 3 in interlaced 4K 3D before comparing 3D Vision with VR immersion.

Someone said that 5 years ago. Damn - We all must be retarded in here playing more then 500 games in quality 3D every day. Maybe we should start crying or play on consoles like other does.

After several hours playing The Witcher 3 in perfect 3D this week on my 100'' projector screen, 3D Vision is dead ROFL!
3D Vision will die the day Helifax, bo3b, Flugan, DarkStarSword, 4EverAwake etc say so, until then i'm confident that we'll be able to keep playing in 3D.
For me 4k, 8K or whatever will never compare to having real 3d depth, it's two different worlds. Hopefully at some point VR headsets will have such a high resolution that will make 3d vision obsolete, but we're years from that.

I fiddled with that but couldn't get it work. There's some combination in my SLI, Win 10, surround sound system chain that is preventing it from working.

Let's be honest, how many people is that exactly? 10's?
And let's be honest, you needed to be stuck to Windows 7 for a LONG time (I'm not even sure how Windows 10 support is now). You needed to go through some hassles for a 3D fix to work, that doesn't appear to have changed.
The tech moved on, I won't go back or settle with limited 3D, if you haven't seen 4k 60 fps gaming in person then you're missing just as much as you claim others are missing the "3D experience".

Windows 10 support is fine for 3D. What hassles are you talking about ?
I would much rather play @ 1080P 3D than 4K 2D and there are user's in the forum who play 3D @ 4K with a EDID override and I have seen 4K @ 60 fps in person and again I rather play 1080P with 3D.
