I wrote an email to asus support explaining the issue. If someone can contact asus insurance nvidia could fix it in a moment.

@joserm: It would be worth you trying to roll back to the 331.65 driver, which is the launch driver for your 780ti's. That is earlier than the support for g-sync in the driver, and would make for an interesting test case. The best recent driver is 340.52. I've had the least problems with that one. VultureX cannot go back to these because the 970 is too new. Here is a list of all recent drivers, with some detail about them: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/777954/3d-vision/suggested-driver-to-use-/

@bo3b: Ah, I was actually referring to some monitor infs that could be worth trying.

Hmm, tried a few others, but they all give me out of range or black screen, so it looks like EDID overriding is not going to help me out :(

Out of sync and black screens are probably due to different timing information. G-Sync signal probably piggybacks the standard communication protocol. I would look at the timing data for the monitor under the custom resolution setting and write them down. I would then link up a second monitor and extend the desktop to it thereby allowing independent timing changes on the secondary. I would now mess around with timings on the G-Sync monitor which is linked as secondary, until a picture appears.

Not quite the same issue, but I have 780ti sli on 344.48 and rog pg278q. Not sure if performance is affected, but SLI seems to break 3dvision ENTIRELY. When I activate 3d I see the emitter light up, but I am only seeing one eye worth of 3d. I can tell because the whole image gets a bit dimmer and shifts to the side. Works normally with SLI disabled. Boy do I wish there was some other company making graphics hardware :(

Even my nvidia control panel app is a pain to look at with SLI enabled. @RAGEdemon: thanks for your suggestions, but I think it's a little bit too much unknown tweaking for me, with little chance of success. NVIDIA (or Asus?) should just fix their drivers.

@rowan_u Strange, but it doesn't happen on my end. 144Hz + Chrome works just fine here.
