Poor 3dvision performance in all Batman Arkham Games
2 / 3

The 'reverting to old drivers' solution mentioned above is probably not a fool-proof solution regardless. The Arkham games, including Origins, are the most frequently played titles on my system. I have playing time logged in all three games (B:AA, B:AC, and B:AO) using the 350.. driver and I am not having any framerate issues whatsoever, gliding or otherwise. While changing drivers may help for some people, the problem evidently goes deeper than that.
Main culprits I would look at are:
A) What OS? (8.1 borks up a lot of games)
B) Game installed to HDD or an SSD? (Seems like the problem with gliding would be texture streaming, which would be slowed down if the game is running off an HDD)
Hey thanks for the info.
I'm on Win 8.1 64 and the game is installed on a Samsung 850 pro 1TB SSD.
I have the gtx 980, the older driver 337.88 is older than my card. I have never installed drivers that old before. What would happen if I did??
Thanks

The oldest driver for a 980 would be 344.XX series 337.88 will not work even with a modded inf the hardware isn't supported with the older driver.
Yeah as others have noted, 337.88 was the last solid driver for this series.
Uh, no.
Again, I'm running the GTAV drivers (350-point-whatever) and all Arkham games run fine. I'm not convinced that something else isn't to blame. My guess is either Windows 8.1 or the 9-series cards in combination with 9-series drivers.
All I can tell you is that W7, a 6-series card, and 350. drivers WORK FINE.

This has to be a driver issue no???
It runs at +120 hz in 2D everything maxed out. Once in 3D the rapid framerate drops start when gliding and running. When fighting in one area it runs very smooth.
Anyone else experiencing this with a 980 latest drivers in Arkham Origins??

I haven't tried reverting to 337.88, but the Batman games are chugging in the open world areas. I noticed the difference on my GTX760, but didn't think it was a driver issue at the time. I now have a GTX970 and the problems persist, so I'm pretty convinced nvidia messed something up in the drivers.

Mine runs smooth in Arkham City 3D Vision with 1080P 3D 8XMSAA Benchmark showing 67 FPS Average.
I had to disable Directx11 Features for High Framerate, but I did leave DirectX11 Tessellation High
I'm even downscaling all three games and still totally playable with no hiccups.
Maybe try reinstalling the 3D driver? Or doing a complete clean reinstall? It's really baffling why people with newer/faster cards are having problems and I've somehow managed to get off scott free. I mean I'm glad things are working okay, but sorry others are having trouble.

I went back to the oldest drivers I could find for the 980 344.75 but was still having the problem.
I did a clean install of the newest drivers and still having problems.
I didn't try Arkham city just trying to get Origins working well. Tried Tomb Raider in 3D and some others and they work just fine.

Ding ding ding! Just leave tessellation turned on for DX11, and disable everything else. Boom, massive framerate gain! But it won't fix the stuttering when moving around, unfortunately. Rocksteady isn't great at DX11.

I have been complaining about this for months now... Ever since the driver next to 337.88.
I have GTX 780 sli and I have terrible performance in 3D vision with every arkham game after 337.88. When using that driver they run perfect silky smooth. Not an issue with 900 series, it is definitely an issue with drivers, also tested on a friends computer with Gtx 680 sli and it is the same thing.

Hi, i was having these performance issue on my 780 with latest driver and now it fixed after installing driver 326.01, but i noticed the phyx no longer have the option High, only normal is available. Is this something available on latest drivers only? am i missing something on normal? anybody using another drive that works with phyx high on win 8.1?

Decided to try out this game again. Now I see the performance problems using DX11 on a Asus VG248QE monitor. Only way I can fix it on 3d vision monitors is to change the maxsmoothing variable to 124 in the bmengine of the game directory.
Also can't figure out how I was able to turn on DX11 tesselation but disable the mvss and hbao like last time either. But the game works smooth with the ini changes.
