3d vision glasses are not working

When you try the setup wizard does the Emitter glow bright green? Also, you can not have the emitter behind something or above your head, It needs to have line of sight to the sensor on the glasses.

Bummer, sounds like the glasses might be dead. You might try leaving them charging all night if you haven't already, but make sure the USB port is always on, even if the computer sleeps. I had a pair of V1 glasses I killed by charging them off of a non-powered hub, and when the computer slept, the hub stole the power from the glasses until the battery was completely discharged. Design flaw. Another possibility is that V1 glasses are getting seriously old now, 7 years or so, and LiIon batteries to have a shelf life of about 5 years, used or not. If you can send them back, I would suggest that.

Hello, I had some issues with both gen I's & II's Recently I have gotten a batch of gen II's off of Newegg, out of the 4 I ordered, 3 (THREE) of the 4 were DOA - Sorta.. In a nutshell. bo3b is right, various rechargeable batteries have limitations to them, similar to 'SSD' drives (read/write). I used to work @ Radio Shack back in the day and we explained this as batteries having a 'memory.' In other word's, from the very first time you charge up the battery you are essentially starting a 'countdown to failure' as each cycle actually diminishes the overall 'charge-time' you have before you need to charge it again. Over the years various, 'flavors' of battery tech have come along to try and extend usage & shelf-life while minimizing the deterioration of that usage over time. - 'Flavors' of Battery Tech -NiCad - the most popular choice for hobbies & Early Cellular as well as Cordless Telephones throughout the 80's & 90's - Also the WORST in regards to that degradation & the Overall usage time before recharge. -NiMH (Nickel Metal)Hydride - A hybrid - See Link Below (Interesting Read #2:) -Lithium-Ion or 'L-Ion' - is the current go to & offers the best (mainstream & affordable) usage/recharge ratio. Important to note, if you are comfortable with it (and it's easier on Gen I's) It's cheaper and offers the best chance of you getting a working pair without the hassle of RMA's cross-shipping etc.; to order the battery (Check Link 'NV(3D)Vision Blog #3' Above) for a few bucks (literally $3 or $4) & follow the directions in the guide. I know it seems contradictory to NOT return an item that doesn't work in exchange for a new set, and it sucks to have take apart these glasses (it's not too bad, just making a point) but, what convinced me was reading the feedback of others (NewEgg, Amazon) that had been RMA'ing them (Gen II's) 2, 3 and even 4 times and some got lucky, some gave up. They KNOW this and continue to sell them! So, read the link's #1 & #3 for more detail's. ~Nutz

Ty so much for answers guys. I get my glasses to a service from my city and the guy who was working at them call me right now and said to me "Glasses are fucked up" He used a battery from a phone to verify if they can be charged and he said to me they can't be charged or something like that I dont remember exactly. I dont know what to belive now but I think he doesnt know so much about the glasses because first time when I get to him with my glasses I said to him the battery must be the problem and he didnt know anything about the glasses, he didn't know where the battery was, nothing about nvidia 3d glasses after some hours he call me back and said me "accumulator can't be charged" and now he told me the battery is not the problem, so I definitely belive hes eating bullshit. What I shoud do now ?

It doesn't sound like he actually knew how to do that - I'd imagine he tried charging it from a phone charger, based on what you've said. ImNutz4NvSLI has replaced a battery in the v2 glasses before, he may be able to provide instructions.
Depends upon how handy you are. This is a fairly tricky repair job. I'm fairly handy, and have done some microsoldering, but I still managed to break the connector off the battery while trying to get in. That link you've posted for the batttery will work, but the real problem there is the connector to the glasses, the little white plug. Without one of those, you'll need to cut the wires and solder them or something. I've often wondered for these DOA glasses whether the battery has actually gone bad from age, or whether there is some sort of very low trickle drain that kills them over a long time. If they are just killed from trickle drain, they can be jumpstarted. You can jumpstart a battery by getting into the right side compartment on the V1 glasses, to get access to the white connector. You can then use a charged LiIon battery as your jump battery and probe the two connectors. You do this with short pulses, as Bloody describes, 1/2 second max. Watch for overheating. Jumpstart worked on my battery that I accidentally killed with a bad usb hub. Jumpstart did NOT work on the replacement batteries I got off eBay. Those have just aged out. So in short- ask if the tech got in to see the battery itself. If the battery went to zero the glasses circuitry won't allow anything to the battery for safety. That's the point of the jumpstart. If he already tried a jumpstart in the battery compartment, it's probably aged out. Ask him specifically, make sure he's not lying or confused. The guy from eBay I got the batteries from was similarly confused, and did not even know how to test batteries, and apparently neither did his 'tech'. If you replace the battery with a new one, they'll definitely work, just note that it's a delicate operation, and you'll need to either solder the old connector on, or solder the wires directly.

Hey Bo3b, any chance you could explain how you got into the battery compartment? I've given it a try out of curiosity, but couldn't work it out without forcing anything more than I was comfortable with.

The good info thread from 3DVisionBlog: http://3dvision-blog.com/3237-upgrading-the-rechargeable-battery-of-the-3d-vision-shutter-glasses/#comments Some of the comments are helpful. Also, it's worth trying to see if they work when plugged into USB vs. not charging. The pair I had would run off USB even though they wouldn't charge, so still usable as wired. They seem to be designed with the idea of going from the curved part by the eyepiece, if you can get under that lip slightly. There is less tang there, should pop off easier from that side. The plastic does not seem brittle, I think you won't break anything.
