No mods about IL2FB+AEP+PF+4.01 series in 77.77... Someday...?
First of all, thank you for the new drivers and the new stereo modes, thanks.

Nevertheless I have re-formated all HD, reinstalled OS, and drivers, soft, etc (as I do ussually when new stereo drivers come out), and tested the 77.77 with FB, FB+AEP, FB+AEP+PF+4.01,

These drivers only work really well with FB 1.0 (out-of-the-box), after AEP, they don't work fine anymore; if the game runs in Landscape detail Excellent or lower all is rendered at the correct depth but there are black boxes on the terrain that are flashing around. If Landscape detail is in Perfect, the black boxes are gone, but rockets, bombs, lonely trees, and AIRFIELDS are rendered in front screen (foreground) ruining the effect and doing a "little difficult" landing and aim.

As I said, it's a pitty that a game like this, will be "Forgotten" (no kidding here...) on this subject. Maybe the problem is not completely about the drivers, maybe the use of graphic hardware in AEP and PF is not all the "correct" as it was in FB 1.0...(!?). I really don't know, but It wouldn't be the first time a graphic card company has contacted a developer to join efforts/solve problems. Maybe it could be done also for this subject, please?

Nevertheless thank you for supporting the stereo community,

B. regards

I agree with you, and I hope someday these problems will be fixed. But may be difficult to solve because some posts have been about this problem, and I´m sure Nvida has put efforts to do something.

The best Stereo3D for me is playing in Opengl "perfect" mode, but happend what you say (trees doesn´t converge, airfields only seen with one eye, rockets, etc.... kill the inmersion and does difficult some things like landings), and with PF you see artifacts whith the new clouds.

But the Nvidia Stereo driver rocks.

What old drivers should we use then? I have a Geforce FX 5900 XT crad.

You have the same card as me 5900XT. Actually I play it with all the gfx glitches mentioned in Perfect mode... (FB+AEP+PF+4.01)

If you want to play it perfectly, use 45.23 (they do not cover all features of Gforces 5xxx though) no more than FB 1.0 + some patches BEFORE AEP!. It seems that this could work the same with the latest drivers (71.8x 77.77 78.01) but I have not tested.

After AEP there is no point in staying in just AEP or AEP+2.04 or AEP+PF, the problems will remain more or less the same with all these expansions (note: if you use AEP or more recent patches, the 45.23 will do more problems than the newer ones they do not support some features added in the last patches)

This is my recent post over at stereovision.net. Can you comment on it?

"Here are some possible solutions: Use the ED drivers, as described in:

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee/forums?a=tpc...00575#733100575

Or try nVidas 56.72. They are supposed to work with at least IL-2:AEP. I only got the Demo version of Il-2 yet, but I just ordered PF.

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee/forums?a=tpc...09645#756109645

Please tell me if you get any success with any of these, and if you do, can you please tell me:

1: If you are using it with the original Il-2, FB, AEP or PF.

2: What graphics card you got.

/cheers"

Oh, and by the way: The 5900XT card is not compatible with 45.23 drivers at all. Those drivers don´t even recognize the card.

1. The 56.72 produces problems. Only if you use FB out-of-the-box or with some patches before AEP, they work just fine, if you disable Vertex Arrays in IL2Setup, BUT if you want to have the last added aircrafts (spits, mustangs, Mistel...), these drivers or anothers do not work fine. Nevertheless you can get used to the glitches, as I do...

2. Although the 45.23 do not have a reference of 5900xt in the .ini/.cfg file, they simple work, as I had them on my 5900xt based system for long time, but another time, when AEP came, I must forgot these drivers...

Sorry. If I have some news I''ll post here

Good luck!

Some people say that with ED drivers you can play FB+AEP+PF in 3D, maybe this is true. But for me is a no go solution because the ED drivers AFAIK do not make page-flipping mode.

I had played FB and MOHAA with ED drivers, and although it was amusing, there is no return back to it when I tried nvidia-pageflipping mode...

I don't have the games in question, so am unaware if it's a real solution for them, but I can say that the ed activator definately does page flipping.

Really? I have tried it with the old drivers (the dll must be placed in game folder), and with last 4.25. No success. Do you now some demo/game in which they work?

I use E-D.exe in conjunction with the forceware drivers to stop flickering in Painkiller that has been a problem for me since 71.84

>.<
I'm sorry I think I misread your post. You were talking about the ed drivers and I read ed activator. I guess you could try that?

I tried, setting ED-Activator in page-flipping but the ED drivers activate always in interleaved. I should test also the ED-activator + forcewares. I'll try later
