there is a difference but it's not related to the glasses.
As previously said : 3D vision glasses are not compatible with 3DTVs, if you use a 3DTV you have to use the TV manufacturer glasses. This was made deliberately by the TV manufacturers.

Are there differences of 3D quality among the displays ? Yes.
It mainly depends on the display type. 3D with active shutter glasses require extremely fast displays.
As far as 3D quality goes :
LCDs = bad
Plasma = good
DLP = excellent
