Can a GTX 470 handle metro 2033 at 1920x1080 on medium at 3d? I know right now I only get an average 25 or lower on high in 2d in DirectX 11, but how big of a performance hit would the game be in 3d at normal settings? How much of performance loss does 3d usually have on all games, really?

It usually has around 40% to 50% decrease in frame rates when gaming in 3D.

i played it very nicely on dx10 1280x768, on highest settings, on a single gtx 295.... Pretty good going I thought, frame rate good.
the lower resolution made a huge difference. It was near unplayable on higher res. Great game. Gonna play it through again, when i get a monster screen /devil.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

There is a decent performance jump going from DX11 to DX10 or DX9. Even in DX11, I can get almost 50% performance increase dropping the settings down from very high to high. By all means disable advanced depth of field. The frame rate hit it induces is not worth it.
Oh, I know I am not the only person perturbed that there is next to no customization available in the settings. I bet I could get a lot better performance by dropping down some of the very high settings in the game.

Also DOF is completely redundant if you game in S3D.

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
