I have a single 480, and I've been having some issues in games lately. With GTA 4 I had to turn object distance to 20 to keep the fps above 30, and in Just Cause 2 if I keep shadow detail at low, I can max out everything else (AA off) and maintain a solid 30fps in the first two benchmarks (with vsync on). Is there a better combo to maximize performance? There are a ton of options and I don't really feel like going through every single option, I just did that with GTA and its a PITA.
Turning off the advanced nvidia options doesn't seem to raise the frame rates very much either. Too bad the game can't make use of a dedicated physx card.

Oddly enough, this is the only game I can't run well in 3D vision. Even with just about everything turned down, I never get past 30FPS and it dips from there. I read somewhere about a VSync issue with the game but it doesn't apply to everyone. To answer your question, just google Just Cause 2 Video settings and you will find a few optimization guides online.

LOL well that too. It doesn't help that the community has been screaming for a patch and they have been totally mum about it. It's such a shame too as the game is beautiful and there's alot of fun to be had. But it just feels like the developer has just abandoned the title...with the exception of the less than stellar DLC.

I have the 30fps bug too, though I do have vsync enabled in the control panel. However, I also have triple buffering on, but it seems like its not working, so far this is one of the only games I can think of that doesn't work well with triple buffering. You would think all games would come with some sort of fps limiter so that vsync wouldn't be an issue (RE5 had it but I never got it to work right).

Honestly this game is coded so badly it's just rediculous. I've had to mess with so many different settings just to try and keep the game from dropping below 60fps as much as possible. Then I enabled v-sync and tripple buffering and it seemed to run ok. But just ok. The city area's are just horrible and the draw distance is a mess.
