If any of them simply added a dual link DVI input, wouldn't a bunch of PC 3D gamers get that "special" TV? It seems like a nice distinguishing factor which would make a particular model stand out. And it wouldn't be that difficult to do. Certainly it is something that would attract a lot of attention from the 3D PC community and whatever company chose to support nvidia would break new ground. I'm sure Nvidia would give them some free advertising as well. But all the corrupt TV manufactures are in bed together on the crappy HDMI 1.4a implementation. They all want to resell their "obsolete" TVs again in a couple years. Shame on all of them.

I would be all over this tv.
So, after a few long hours of researching 3d tvs and this forum, I think I'm going to have to wait a bit longer to make the jump to a 3d tv. Currently gaming on the alienware 3d monitor and was really looking forward to getting a bigger screen. Had settled on a plasma, mostly for the reduction in ghosting. But this hacked hdmi 1.4 standard has really disappointed me. I think I'm going to wait it out for a bit longer.
But for sure a 3d Tv with a dual link dvi connection that is compatible with 3dvision and I would be sold instantly. We know you know people Nvidia, make it happen!
You're wrong pal, frame packing format has way better 3D quality compared to checkerboard, side-by-side or top/bottom format. Frame packing delivers 1280 x 720 or 1920 x 1080 per eye, while these other formats only support half the resolution per eye.
Believe, it's better to play games at 720p 60hz frame packing, rather than checkerboard 1080p 60hz.
I don't agree. I just made some modification so that I can play in 720p @ 60Hz or 1080p @ 24Hz framepacking AND 1080p @ 60Hz checkerboard on my new Samsung PS50C7790 HDTV (which I've choosen over Panasonic because it supports more 3D formats). And clearly for me 1080p @ 60Hz checkerboard looks better than 720p @60 Hz framepacking and obviously runs smoother than 1080p @ 24Hz frame packing.
And btw, since checkerboard runs in the more matured 3D vision mode rather than 3DTV Play mode, it doesn't have the problems that 3DTV Play beta currently still has.
