How are people getting jps screenshots? The drivers are saving as uncompressed pns so file sizes are very large. Are people converting them or is there a setting somewhere?

PNS files are stereo PNG files, which are actually compressed. However they use lossless compression, so you get the best possible quality. But, yeah, the files do end up being pretty big. Not sure how to switch the file type.

Heck, with a terrabyte hard drive, PNS sounds pretty good to me. Could this be a new setting in the 270 beta drivers, perhaps?

I have the 260.63 drivers actually. I usually take a "if it isn't broke and doesn't have a feature that benefits me" approach to driver updates. Do the latest official drivers save as jps?

Hi
In the registry location for 3D Vision you can add a new D-Word called StereoImageType. 1 for PNS 0 for JPS.
I will not type this again on the forums, so please remember it :)

Alt -F1 let's you take screenshots with a jps extension..
If you have JPG formats, then you can just rename them to JPS
sorry for the silly question but how do you "rename" jpg to .jps?
GTD: A .JPS file is actually just a .JPG file. If you rename Screenshot001.JPS to be Screenshot001.JPG then open it, it will open up and you'll see the two images. Not only is this handy for debugging, it also lets you upload your screenshots to non-3D websites and lets you edit the picture in any old image edit program. This works with PNS/PNG images, too. So just right click the file and change the name! (Though, if you've got the operating system set to hide file extensions, you might need to change that first.)
Andrew: SWEET! Of course, we wouldn't have to remember it if it were an option on the 3D console. Hint hint, nudge nudge, say no more.... well, no more today anyway. /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
For those of you not in the know, this is a lot like the registry change you can do to change your screenshot hotkey as described in the 3D Vision Blog, only this one is a lot easier. Using regedit, go to the same place in the registry (probably HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D\ but it will be HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D\ if you're still running on a 32-bit operating system). Right click on the Stereo3D "folder" and select New/DWORD Value. Name the new value to be StereoImageType and give it a value of 1. Done!
Now this is a change to the registry so you can screw things up pretty bad if you do something stupid. Basically, if you don't know what RegEdit is, don't just start hacking away. Hit Google/Bing/Whatever and do a little reading so you know how to backup and restore.
At 1920x1080, it looks like the PNS files are about ten times bigger than JPS files. They take noticably longer to save, too, and it's not easy to see much difference. But it looks like (Jenson, are you watching this?) you can go up to 999 files instead of just 99!
