Has anyone heard any updates regarding the 3D Vision patch? It's been almost a month since they mentioned they would be doing it. I understand that's a short time to implement, just wondering if there has been any news.

From what i hear, they may have a lot of problems to fix to make it look right in 3D. The longer they take, the higher the chances of them fixing stuff like post processing, lighting, shadows, etc, I would guess.

I'm hoping the delay means they are working to fix the shader problems rajkoderp outlined and using Nvidia's stereo texture workaround to fix Nvidia's native 3D Vision implementation instead of simply porting over the horrible AMD HD3D "3D HUD 2D everything else" implementation.

I agree. We want all in-game materials to be rendered in stereo & with correct depth. Only HUD can be excluded from stereo image. I don't care if it's going to take a while, they just have to get it right!

I just tried the game with the new patch for a few minutes.
Well... Definitely better than the old HD3D rendering (the game actually IS in 3D, this time), but it's really nothing to write home about. Even with all 3D settings maxed out in the game (3D Vision driver settings have no effect at all), there is very little depth, and the 3D doesn't feel very natural. I'm pretty sure this is actually some "2D+depth" technique that is being used (instead of real stereo 3D, with two independant frames being rendered, one for each eye)... and not the most convincing implementation of the technique.
But hey, this is still better than nothing, so I guess I'll give my thanks to Eidos/Nixxes anyway!...

I`ve got quite same Stereo3D as it use to be. The same light issue and shadows. Depth is great after setting every stereo option to max (in-game menu). I can not switch on or off Stereoscopic 3D option (it`s red - not active) so i recon it works buy nvidia drivers. This new update didn`t change much in my case. I am also on latest Nvidia Drivers.

Anyone can list the version of the game with the latest patch? My game seems to be still 1.2.633 and 3D is still broken:(

It's working now. Low depth but it's real 3d just need lot more depth. I'm not sure if that other setting work(Stereo 3D Plane). Game version is 1.3.643.1 and i'm using latest beta drivers. Game disables 3Dvision at start and you have to enable it(ctrl-t). Some error every time exiting game...

I can confirm that yes the patch works, and yes it works in 3D. They are using our 3D Vision Quad buffered approarch to render it in 3D.
The 3D to my eyes doesnt look at have as much depth as other games as well.

Anyway, 3D Vision doesn't even turn on for me.
Do we need the Battlefield drivers for this?
