I have also erroneously had this error, though only once. Restarts did not fix it for me but re-running the wizard did.
In my case all apps did it regardless of resolution or frequency.

I am running surround on 3 acer monitors @ 6000x1080, off a pair of GTX580's and I think the driver with the issue was the current WHQL one.

I'm not asking nicely. I'm asking very disrespectfully. It's been months and months and your devs are just too freaking stupid to understand the concept of "ease of use" and not spamming the end user with pointless warning messages even though everything is operating correctly.

I'm sick and tired of seeing people complain about:

"Warning: attempt to run Stereoscopic in non-stereo display mode, please change to a acceptable mode. See documentation for acceptable Stereoscopic 3D modes"

Fix it by the end of the week you lazy freaks. Want me to do it? I'll do it for free out of pity. Man you people are so incompetant.

Andrew you're the only one at NVIDIA who does his job properly. Your devs freaking suck balls. 15 years experience my ass. They obviously have never worked directly with an end user before. Next time you hire someone make sure you ask them this simple question.

"Have you worked with the end user before?"

That pretty much translates into "do you listen and fix problems reported by your end user in a timely fashion? A week tops?"

I'm very close to writing a very long and professional letter to the CEO referencing his passion on PBS and I'm going to complain about all your incompetent devs. I'm going to get them in so much trouble. Gonna bring the god hand of your CEO down upon your piece of crap developers.

Jenson,
You've certainly shown yourself to be talented at times on this forum, but it doesn't matter how talented you are, there is no excuse for such manner of speech. Your tone is both insulting and offensive. You have no hesitation hurling insults at Nvidia's devs, yet you don't know anything about them nor do you know their workflow or workload. If that's how you truly feel about someone's abilities, it's best kept to yourself or perhaps expressed in a far more congenial way, but as far as the nature of resolution, I don't think you are going to get anywhere with that sort of tone. I recommend since you have such a difficult time discussing opposing view points that you pick up a copy of Plato's Euthyphro and spend one afternoon reading it.

I know it's insulting and offensive, that was my intention. Sometimes you need to light a fire under someones ass to get them to do what's right.

I can tell you their workflow and workload right now. They are overworked and understaffed and they waste their time with stupid things like 3d vision live instead of making more ease of use features and better game profiles. They spread their resources thin and now everyone of their projects don't get enough attention to push the tech forward. Nothing revolutionay has been achieved with nvidia 3d vision since mid 2010, am I right?

Ultimately the reason I make these posts is because I care. If you care about someone or something you won't sugar coat things.

It's been six months and the top 3 things I've needed are:

1. Stereo mouse cursor, fine if you can't do it fine.
2. Three hotkey presets so I can set depth/conv instantly with the press of a button (2 hours of work)
3. Checkbox that lets me disable nvidia's warning messages while I'm playing the game (1 hour of work)

That's all I've wanted and other people want these features as well. I've been kind and respectful since November.

If they had non-critical source code released, I could do all this myself and I wouldn't be posting like this on the forums.

I'm not going to repeat myself anymore or make anymore posts after this. I'm done. I'm going to prepare a resume and submit to Andrew. I genuinely want to help now. I could be enjoying my favorite games in 3D so much better if I just had the above three features.

Currently not, I'm just saying that the error turns up erroneously under some circumstances.
It's irritating as all hell to have the error sitting over a perfectly functioning 3D image, if for whatever reason the logic that triggers it has an issue and you can't identify it in the short term, why not put a work around in and allow users to turn it off.

Hi

Ok let me try to get more details
- GPU model?
- Multi-display yes or no?
- driver?
- What was the exact message?
-GeForce 8800 GTS 512 (Factory OC) by BFG Tech
-Yes Multi-display, with Primary Monitor being 3D Display and Secondary being a 2D TV.
-Currently running the 267.24 BETA Drivers, Issue showed up on 266.35 drivers rarely, hasn't shown up on 267.24 yet (But they've only been installed for a couple of days)
-Once the Netflix player started up in window after a refresh-from-frozen state, the red message "Warning: attempt to run Stereoscopic in non-stereo display mode, please change to a acceptable mode. See documentation for acceptable Stereoscopic 3D modes"

If it isn't too bold of me to make a suggestion: Perhaps make this message one-time disable, for example, Ctrl+alt+ins to make it disappear once only, then the next time it pops up, disable it again, etc.

We're about to hit the road right now with a band heading to NM, so I'll check back late tonight. Let me know if you need anything else, and thanks for the help Andrew.

To be fair, I agree with Jenson. For example you cannot send a 3d signal to a 3d tv yet (for a game) at 1080p at 60hz (presumably for each eye). I understand the difficulties that are involved but the trial took me from this will be a definite buy to, wtf was that, such a huge dissapointment to me. I hope it all starts working better soon as I would love to be able to game in 3d on my tv at 1080p.

Wil it be possible to get a second trial later down the line though using the same computer, when and if the issues I see have been fixed?

Hi

Its not possible to send a 1080p60 full resolution signal to a 3D TV since the TVs do not support that mode, so therefore the message should appear. No TV supports 1080p60 yet. Most TVs support 1080p24 or 1080p60 in checkerboard or side/side mode. I've already posted that we are going to add 1080p60 checkerboard mode to future 3DTV Play software.

I apologize about the trial, but like all other trial its a one time trial.

That's an unfortunate limitation of HDMI 1.4 and current 3D HDTVs and a problem that can't really be blamed on Nvidia. There's really no one to blame for this other than the HDMI licensing group and their TV manufacturing partners, so once you see HDMI 1.4a, 1.4b, 1.4c, 1.4d or 1.5, 1.5a, 1.5b, 1.5c etc finally support 1080p @ 60Hz per eye you can buy into 3D in its full 1080p 60Hz glory.

Nvidia actually supports all currently available 1080p @ 60Hz formats via DLP checkerboard and 120Hz frame sequential, in fact, they've been the driving force behind true 120Hz input LCDs in the desktop space. True 120Hz displays simply did not exist before Nvidia's re-launch of 3D Vision, and every monitor since including the early 1680x1050 panels were attached to 3D Vision in some way. Again, the reason why you don't see these in the HDTV space is due to HDMI limitations as 120Hz desktop LCDs require DL-DVI.

Warning: attempt to run Stereoscopic in non-stereo display mode, please change to a acceptable mode. I get this from time to time. It really sucks and bothers that hell out me.
Want a solution for that, more simple than restarting your computer? I found myself a easier way that only takes 20 seconds or less...

If you have a SLI system, just go to Nvidia control panel and disable SLI, after that enable SLI again. For some reason, this always works, I mean always fixed the annoying issue and I can play 3D again without this red annoying message. You can just disable SLI and it will work, but I always use SLI, so I disable and enable SLI again to get rid of the problem. It always works.

If you don't have SLI and suffer from this issue, than I don't know how to help you out. But I think sometimes just disabling and enabling 3D mode in the NCP usually works, but SLI tip is more effective.

Hope this helps, it's way better way to solve this issue compared to restarting your PC.
