Thanks for the update DarkStarSword. In addition to bo3b's advise, for games that are broken with updates or broke their 3DV fixes, you can use cracked versions. If you use reliable sources and reliable group releases and ofcourse with a good AV then you can enjoy those games again. For years me and lots of people are burned because of idiot or greedy developers and publishers. Because of this I usually download an another copy of my purchased games (for most loved ones) and store them for any possible issues. Some examples: - Most recent example was Syberia 3, some people were only be able to play the game with a crack. - I have the Steam version of Mafia 2 and all it's DLCs, but one DLC is shown as purchased in store but refused to show itself in library or work. Because of this I couldn't use some beautiful mods that needed all DLCs. Downloaded a copy of the game and voila, everything works better. I contacted support but no help ofcourse. I'm also not alone in this issue. - Some games run much better with an illegitimate copy or an exe, most known example was Witcher 2. When the game firstly relased DRM was causing huge performance issues, CDPR encouraged people to download a crack till they remove it, lol. At that time they were not independent, DRM was forced by the publiser. - GTA IV's latest update was terrible for modders and also for some regular users, you could downgrade the Steam version, but it was not easy and not very reliable. For years I couldn't use my Steam version because of this, relied on a copy.
Thanks for the update DarkStarSword.
For people who have the uPlay version of this game- take charge of your gaming life, and stopping letting the corporations f* with you. Set the game to not automatically update. Any changes they make are going to be 1/10 as valuable as 3D, don't let them wreck a working fix.
Yes, I will do this for sure. But I figure the most recent update was necessary to get the two DLC running. Thx DarkStarSword for the fix! Hopefully the last one that is needed for this game. At least, if they do not decide to fix stealth mode and introduce body hiding ;)

The game is not working, it does not start due to a new update (1.017) of watch dogs. Since the last 3d fix the game does not start anymore. What can I do in this case? I would be very grateful for your help.

I have tried the eac launcher option, but it does not work anyway. I also tried to delete the d3d11.dll and after this watch dogs starts normal but the problem is that there is no 3d fix afterwards.

Any performance tips in this one? I'm running with fairly high settings at 720p, temporal rendering disabled (enabling it turns things 2d), and 1.3 pixel density to make up for the lower resolution. Performance is 40-20fps in the open world, and I'm getting fairly frequent hangs for a second or two. This doesn't seem right given my specs, which are: 1080TI 16GB ram i5 4690K @ 4.5ghz I'm running the latest driver (397.64), and the latest Windows Insider build (which I'm aware isn't recommended for 3D in general, but it adds haptics to my VR controllers, which I find valuable). Has anyone with comparable specs tried this recently?

WD2 is much more optimized than the previous, and an enjoyable and great game IMO!

Thanks Blacksmith, seems we have similar systems. Do you still have it installed? Would you mind checking performance and letting me know how it's currently running on whatever driver you've got installed?

I just have to tidy up one of my HD's for some space, then download and install it, I'll return in a couple of hours :)

Finally got it installed... I had planned this for a while anyway :) I did remember wrongly about the res., but changing it to 1440p it didn't really ad anything to the story, it runs smooth between 30-50ish in the streets and no hangs, most settings on max! Driver 397.31 and I can't see anything specific, that can explain your issue, if you want me to go in detail with the settings or so, just let me know.

Thanks for testing! [s]If you have time to screenshot your settings, that would be appreciated - maybe I've picked a particularly taxing AO option or something. [/s] EDIT: I've done more testing, and I'm certain it's CPU-limited. I'm seeing pretty similar performance on lower settings, and getting 100% CPU usage on all but one core when it's running.
