F1 2010 game save corrupt Turns out to be a known bug - not happy - warning to others
Just loaded up my steam F1 game for it to report my save file is corrupt - everything lost
Maybe im the last to know, but turns out to be a known bug that the save file corrupts sometimes after using research and development.
the fix being not to use R&D

I did try the restore previous saves' from suggestion in link above - no joy

Not a 3D issue, but I know alot of vision users play F1 and wanted to give a heads up to save others possibly losing their entire career to this shi* bug

so until patch AVOID R&D

Hi everyone, I'm updating this thread with a potential workaround:

I can confirm that this issue is with development, will be addressed in the patch, and we'd like you to try the following workaround:

After a practice session where you complete an R&D objective and unlock a new upgrade make sure you then load in to the following qualifying session before exiting the game.

And also, as our technical support FAQ now says:

We believe this only occurs if, after completing an R&D objective, you...
- Retire to the paddock via the Engineer (in the garage).
- Terminally damage your car and select retire to paddock.
- Get disqualified and select retire to paddock.

As long as you progress to the qualifying session before quitting the game this problem will not occur.

If you have a PS3 save game which corrupted somewhere else in the game, and did not involve R&D objectives, please see this sticky.

Caldera.

Thanks for the info, I was just getting ready to get F1 2010. Sounds like a similar bug in DIRT 2, and also DIRT 1. I know the fix in DIRT 2, but it was a bit time consumming. I managed to get all my stuff back, but all that was caused by one single file in the save folder...

Codemasters really need to pay attention to that issue.
