Venetica Another game saved by ofdr.exe
Well I finally got my retail copy of the little known 3rd-person RPG Venetica that was out in Europe over a year ago. While the graphics look dated, it is a pretty fun game so far that reminds me of Beyond Good and Evil somewhat. Unfortunately, this game suffers from serious halo issues and I doubt Nvidia will bother making a profile to fix a lesser known game like this.

However, the wondrous magic of renaming the game's exe to ofdr.exe fixes that problem. The only major issue I have noticed after this is that health bars above enemies are at screen depth but that option can be disabled in the settings.

I don't know if Nvidia reads this but it would be nice if they figured out what in the ofdr profile fixed the halo issue and applies it to Dead Space 2 without breaking other things.

rofl its funny how the existence of such a crappy game with flawed 3d ends up being valuable in other ways :) Its about time we got some access to profile building like with SLI imho as they both equally niche and its users should be expect to be prepared to get their hands dirty.

Sorry but I'm quite new with 3D. Do you only have to rename the game exe? Is the ofdr profile already in my NVDIA drivers or do I have to install something?

You only have to rename the actual game's .exe to ofdr.exe instead of venetica.exe. Until Nvidia decides to allow us to modify 3D profiles, we are stuck doing goofy stuff like that to make some games work better in 3D.

It's currently free after $10 rebate at newegg.com, I'm sure we could just add it to the profile using Nvidia Inspector now if it still works with that profile. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832198092

Saw it before and reminded me of beyond good and evil which I enjoyed. Is it good? I think ofdr still works. I think its either prototype/aion which I use.

I'm not sure, just ordered it myself. I'll try to install it as soon as I get it and give it a quick check, I get free 2-day shipping so it shouldn't take too long.

Ofdr doesn't fix the halos anymore, neither did aion, prototype, etc. The only thing I found that made it playable was to change Full Screen Effects to Off. I didn't play very much of it but it was definitely rough around the edges, no where near the caliber of Beyond Good and Evil.
