Faking 3D is a great feature to have finally added but it's not something you build 'excellent' profiles off of because it isn't something that works well across the board, it looks horrible on most 3D Monitors but passable on some larger TV/DLP screens.
I would love to see it added as an optional feature, like the crosshairs, but adding a Bioshock Infinite profile that fakes 3D and rating it 'excellent' when it's been fixed already and is really 'excellent' is just a slap in the face (as the fake 3D 'excellent' profile actually disables the fix, creating the need to remove the profile in order to use it ... which is another process which isn't possible without using 'other' methods) ... and I know you're most likely just the messenger here but when you take a look at the options for 3D on PC, there's only really two main ones, 3D Vision and TriDef.
And then you look at 3D Vision vs TriDef, one has been sitting in limbo (and or ruining things for its users) raking in the cash while it's users have been extremely proactive in trying to fix things and the other has been proactively helping it's users, adding features, fixing games, etc ... the list goes on. Can you guess which is which here?

I appreciate the effort, i really do! But im concerned this "fake 3d" will become standard, which i hope is not gonna happen. Standard 3d is still far superior. looks like this new method uses z-buffer to extract depth info and create 3d map, which is similar to tridef's power 3d.
Anyway, like TsaebehT said, its a great feature. ac3 finally playable and adding ac liberation profile to ac3 profile made it playable too. Much better than plain 2d.
What we'd like:
Toggle on off button for this new 3d method and a way to easily apply it to other games too.
Thanks!

Please add some sort of Forced3D tag when you're using 2d+depth techniques to make a game fake 3d compatible. This is not real 3d. That's incredibly far from "Excellent". You're misguiding people about how incredible real 3d looks. If someone sees those games in such 'excellent' 3D, they won't ever care again for 3d hardware, you're really doing a lot more harm than good with this approach.

I can't run the install wizard for 3D Vison in windows 8.1, all the time have the error "KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE" and need to restart the computer.
I revert back to 332.21 without problems with the wizard. Any idea?

I was so happy to hear about this new 3d support but as the other guys says it pretty much stinks, hmm this does not bold well at all and are not something that we 3d gamers will take to our hearts.
If this is the way forward then you pretty much are asking for 3d gaming to die alltogether and what the nay sayers think from get go that 3d gaming sucks.

Do the drivers FORCE the fake 3d? What about in other games? Is there a checkbox to enable or disable it? I'll never download another driver again if I'm forced into this shit! >:(

I am positively surprised with Assassin`s Creed 4. Works and looks great ! I can adjust Convergence but i get sort of halo around main character (see pic) so i try to keep it low - even that i got great depth. Happy to finally play this game in 3D.
Thanks Nvidia !

It was nice at first to not to be bombarded by bad shadows and lighting effects all up in my face when firing up these games with their new profiles, but after playing for a few min it became clear that this pseudo-3d (like tridef power3d) just won't cut it for us 3d vision junkies. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled that Nvidia is finally giving 3d vision some attention, and I'd rather play these games like this than in 2d, but after seeing what is possible when 3d is done right (or fixed properly) this mode pales in comparison. It looks better on my dlp projector than on my monitor but it still seems like the resolution is being cut down, ie: trees and foliage look very rough around the edges in the games I tested (specifically hitman and ac4) and leave me feeling like I'm playing a game in bullshit 3d mode on a ps3 in half res. Thanks for trying though, Nvidia. Hopefully this is a start of better communications between us 3d enthusiasts and Nvidia, and maybe a little down the line we can get what we really deserve - a built in shader debugger!
Steve - can you please share any more information on what this new feature is doing behind the scenes?

This id like to know too. I still think this is really really great feature, but some kind of on/off button would be helpful and mention in the drivers which 3d method a game uses by default.
Other than that im really happy nvidia now has this z-buffer 3d method too. Its going to save a lot of games!

This is great feedback - thanks. All I can say at this time is that the new profile support is using proprietary technology developed by NVIDIA with the goal to improve the 3D experience for popular titles that either did not work with 3D Vision at all, or had poor ratings. This is our first public release of the technology and we welcome the community's input.
