Gothic 4 Any plans for final release? The demo has some issues with 3d
1 / 3
I just tried the demo for Gothic 4. The world in itself looks lush and if full of vistas and natural wonder but the effect with 3d vision suffers as shadows are not laid on the objects but in the closer plane. the same with some effect from fire and the like.
Its a shame if there will be no fix for this in time for release as I think the game itself could be good. The fighting is fast paced and pretty fun with tactical elements.
Anyone heard anything about 3d vision support for this title?

I really doubt there will be a fix for this anytime soon. Even with these 2D 'shortcuts' in their rendering, the game recommends a GTX295 or higher. Sure is pretty without the 3DS effects, though!
Yeah, it's definitely bad in 3DS. The sky is all 2D, too, so it hovers at screen depth.

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

I don't know about being JUST like it, though I expect it to be fairly similar. The demo is definitely worth getting.
Edit: BTW, the demo is a bit... different. It starts out doing the starting area like most demos do but, after awhile, it goes into fast forward. A dungeon you go into starts easy then suddenly starts sprouting much harder critters and much fatter loot. You end up fighting mighty high level stuff - dumbed down to level 5 or so.

That is fantastic news. I also loved Risen. If that is so, then i'm going to get it now.
