What with the price hike on PC games ?
A little off topic but lately I noticed PC titles are now 59.95 instead of 49.95 for tier one games example Southpark TitanFall Castlevania 2

Because PC gaming is more popular that it's ever been. So the suits are taking notice and asking "Why not?" That and those are all from the old-school publishers who are in a financial crisis due to their love affair with unsustainable AAAA. Desperate times call for desperate measures and they can't afford to live a nickel on the table.

IMO £39.99 for South Park is an absolute piss take. It's really annoying that the prices are being artificially inflated. I can almost understand it from a console perspective when the hardware typically sells at a loss, but on PC it's just bullshit. Specially when so many PC releases are buggy on release. Add to that the day 1 DLC and annual pass additions, and your average AAA game now costs close on double the old £25-30. IMO a £40 game needs to be an instant classic with 50-100 hours gameplay. It used to be that the CoD games sold for £40 and everyone pointed and laughed, now its almost commonplace.

TBH, I think a price hike is a good thing to become common place. Seriously, so what games are expensive at day one. How much is it 6/12 months from now during steam sales. Most developers feel there is so little incentive to release a game on pc that isnt online supported and pc market is finally picking up as of like last few years probably due to age of consoles. Now that new ones are out and being adopted since its harder to pirate we will probably start seeing a lot less releases soon. Maybe prices will slow the tide but I still think we are going to see alot less games soon.

Shop around, look at key selling sites like greenmangaming and getgamesgo (too many g's) they will quite often have much better prices than steam on pre-orders and sales.
