3d Vision multi monitor questions Getting 3d Vision on 3 monitors
I am about to purchase a whole new computer, and i am looking into my options. I already have the Viewsonic 120hz monitor, but my question is, if i get 2 more of them and run surround gameing, what is the best setup for that?
I have looked into trying to plug all 3 monitors directly into some SLI setup, but from what i understand, you would need 3 cards, 2 in SLI for 2 of the monitors, and a third one with a different GPU for the the third monitor. This is not ideal, and I understand that it doesn't work that well anyway (Most games not utilizing the surround monitors, only the center one).
The other setup I am considering is utilizing a matrox TH2G and plugging all three monitors into that (I understand that Vista fixes the problems with directx at a 5040x1050 resolution), but I am wondering if the 3d vision glasses will work through the TH2G box and what kind of experience i will have with that setup.
On a side note the reason I want 3 monitors is so i don't have a seam in the middle of my viewing area, if someone can think of an alternate setup that would be helpful also.
On a side side note, if I get a quad sli setup (2x2), can i really run 3-way SLI (2+1) and use the remaining one for physx? or is that over thinking it, and the 2+2 setup will run physx on top just fine?

Triplehead2go will allow you to use it in stereo at, afaik, 3072x768 @ 85 Hz. You have to look into specs of TH2Go about which resolutions are allowed at 85 Hz or more. Sure that if you go a 3x 1024x768 you will have high fps even in 3d, but you will not be in native resolution...(although that is not so bad as you are in stereo, but it can be subjective...).
At least I know it works. Look into mtbs3d.com forums, there are guys that have a similar setup using TH2Go.
Other option is going dualhead2go with 2 projectors that allow stereo: 1. Two new 1024x768 viewsonic 120 Hz stereo-ready projectors (using checkerboard, so half resolution...) or 2. Using two well-kwown stereo working sharp (or other) projectors, usually 1024x768 @ 85 Hz (and make yourself or buy a circuit to synch glasses, see mtbs3d.com forums). Using two projectors you will not have the seam in the middle, at least, it will be much less perceptible...
For the moment I can't think on other options with shutters. Hope it helps
