Funny the same thing has happened with me as well. Was talking to a buddy of mine about it and he is a big Resident Evil fan so I told him about Resident Evil 5 and how awesome it was in 3D and all of this and that and he responded with, “That’s cool … but I just don’t know if I am too into 3D stuff.†Of course I told him he had no idea (He hasn’t even seen Avatar in 3D yet). Long story short he came by the house this past weekend I let him check it out. Sure enough it blew his mind. He left saying, “If they ever get something like that going on PS3 I’ve got to get on it.â€

hmm... in my case it wasn't that bad :D
many people at work won't buy into this (mainly because they don't know exactly what to expect, and because they're past the age/station in life for gaming) but they were definitely interested to know how it performs compared to a movie theatre and what you get actually.
Eventually I think even older and less tech-savvy people will move towards HD and then 3D. The problem - as I see it - is lack of content, and also the fact that in a sense 3D technology is ahead of time. In Europe at least only a few households own a HD capable display, and even fewer are enjoying HD only (or HD predominantly) content. Yet all these PR people and tech journalists proudly proclaim that 2010 will be the year of 3D revolution... that@s like saying people will buy helicopters even before they start buying cars :D

Not true in the UK - Sky HD subs have passed the 2 million mark and i'd imagine not everyone who has a HD display will have sky hd.

Yeah... which is a little more than 3% of the population. Count the number per household (on average a family of 4) and it's still about 12%.
Granted, there are display owners that don@t have sky hd subscription (I'm one of them), but on the other hand quite a few subscribers still have "HD ready" displays. Remember those 1330x720 TV some of which are still kicking about? Well, as far as I'm concerned there's no partial/half-ass HD and full HD, there's only true HD, but that's rather beside the point.
Bottom line, everywhere in the world (except USA and SE Asia maybe) there hasn't been enough HD buy-in to justify the deployment of a even newer technology (true, HD and 3D can and should be combined). Look at how long it took from the moment DVD's became comercially available until the DVD sales overtook the VHS sales.

Good: 120hz,3d,1080p,hdmi,looks just like my Dell (no one knows I got a new monitor),height adjustment, swivels, touch controls, anti glare screen,23.6in, comes with an hdmi cord along with a dvi one also,3yr warranty.
Cons:Dell (mormon owned company along w/ Clear wifi) ,$468 after discount and w/two day shipping, purchased a 3d vision bundle and the monitor got here in a couple days but the 3d vision kit was going to take 30 days so I canceled the kit and got it from Tiger in just a couple days, even after applying the proper drivers the screen still looked washed out compared to my Dell 2209aw and even after using my 2209aw profile which helps a lot it still looks semi washed out towards the bottom half (I'm sure I'll eventually get used to it visually), deep inset bezel about a half inch so it collects dust quick. No pnp (would be great) The base is glossy and you can easily see all the dust that collects.
Conclusion: I think it's great, I have never seen 3d before (other than in comic type books with the paper glasses) and have still not seen Avatar 3d the movie but I am totally sold (I've played Tomb Raider Underworld, Batman AA $12.95 on GFWL, Borderlands and some other random videos) and I cant wait to see what the future holds for 3d via home entertainment and I always figure that if I bought this then that means a lot of other people are doing the same thing which means more funding for research and lower priced tech.
I was going to get the Acer (little bigger , little faster and $100 cheaper) but those ran out quick and I'm not a fan waiting or of the color (though I can see how some might like it, my pc case is bright green and looks like an alien) plus it doesn't have the ability to adjust the height (not a big deal till you need it).

I am not sure that it would work with Playstation 3, but for 3D Blu Ray, it will work if you buy the appropriate player software (for example: cyberlink powerdvd 10 ultra) when it is released and have a blu ray drive it should work.

I have mine for 1 week and I can say I am very satisfied. I want to know your RGB settings, brightness and contrast. I don't have 3d vision, is it worth the cost? And I must say that I have a radeon video card.

Including VAT and shipping it came to about 450 pounds. Still expensive if you ask me, but I wasn't going to wait another month for Acer.

Yeah... which is a little more than 3% of the population.
