That's not what I meant, but I see where you are coming from. But what a kick in the teeth to Nvidia it would be if DX11 games (which are more often than not, broken) are all playable solely due to the community.

The amount of people who won't play "blah blah" cause shadows need to be to be turned off.
The amount of people who won't play "blah blah" Gunsights/ multiple depth/convergence settings are "needed."
Ive honestly had so many of these complaints on helixmod threads/in this forums. These arent new issues. They been around since forever but now people expect them to be taken care of.

lol, guess I'm one who has really low standard. I finished RE 6 in 3D Surround while people keep demanding a Helix fix...
also,
add the amount of people who demand a Helix community fix for every game that has any sort of 3D vision issues...
I think all of these are due to more and more people getting used to the benefit of and take for granted the community effort.

great write-up.
to be perfectly frank, I've never been interested in OR or VR in general: I'm into 3D gaming, but not for the sake of "immersion." I've never fancied myself to be "inside" the gameworld, I love the sight of 3D gameworld and it greatly enhances the overall gaming experience...but I always know that I'm playing a game.
I'd take 3D Surround sight of DAO/TR2013 type of game over first person VR sim any day:)

No thats the point. RE6 in 3D doesn't suck. Like the only reason you werent afraid to try it is because you are on 3 monitors and not afraid to play low depth [I think you do anyways] or if worse comes to worse just 2D on 3 monitors.
Like read the RE6 post by Jeynos https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/539129/3d-vision/resident-evil-revelations/3/. We got someone saying how awful RE6 is in 3D and I honestly get 1 post a week either here or on helixmod threads saying the same. Now I knew helix mentioned it so I never bothered to try it myself and I have people constantly complain it at least once a week. So I safely assume its bad in 3D. Now someone posted a picture of it. It looks gorgeous. Now mind you there might be situations where something is off and its not "perfect". Probably something I'd want to mod myself if helix wasnt interested in it but it looks phenomenal.
The poor guy actually thought there was something wrong with him because he thought it was good in 3D.
Its just a sad realization since I work my ass off, and I will continue to do so. That such a bad level of apathy is going on. Like me and Helifax[WideScreenGamer] were talking and the simpler we make it for people the more likely that when things don't work with a simple drag + drop. They will expect us to figure it out.

I finished it 3 times in 3D Surround. Shadow problems are there but can be easily avoided if you don't freaking "STARE" at them.
As for RE6 and Revelations I can 10000% say safely they use totally different engines;)) While RE6 engine looks like somehow what you expect from a Console/PC game, Revelations is a "Gamboy" port type of engine (very simplistic in design, highly optimized from "memory consumption" point of view with very simplistic calculations).
I fixed both games for Surround (since they lacked support) and the "inside" is totally different.
But back to RE6 I can safely say it can be played in 3D Vision easily.
Best Regards,
Helifax

basically the game has light and shadow issues (in areas where there are strong light sources), so you'll have those in cutscenes and in-game. however, those issues, for me personally, are rather minor; especially in-game, there are only very few areas in which you'll actually notice the light/shadow problems.
for comparison, the shadow in Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is utterly distracting, I have to disable it to get good 3D gaming experience; I don't have to do that with RE 6.
btw, eqzitara, I play with 100% (as per Nvidia CP) in 3D surround; convergence is also adjustable.

I was judgeing based on issues in screenshot and that I hear that there is the same issues with helixmod debugger in RE6 as revelations[Which any issues is very rare]. I assumed incorrectly. I havent actually tried RE6 but I know there were a few people who tried it and were happy.... and the community as a whole thought they were insane.
But this kind of says something. You guys are wide screen gamers and 3d gamers. Each is a backup of the other. You'd like both but you will go either or if you have to. Like you arent afraid. YOU GUYS ARE PRACTICALLY THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO BOTHERED TO CHECK. Instead of spamming forums/helixmod threads. Which is a kudos to you but thats sad for us as 3d gamers/single monitor users. Like I didnt look but I bet money at least one person uploaded screenshots on 3dvisionlive and people would know its okay. This didnt use to happen.
Like should you wait for helix patch if you want best experience? Sure. He said he would just that he is busy right now
Can you play it now if you want to? Sure, its not bad. You'll be missing out a bit but go ahead.
But I have tons of people just keep constantly over, over, and over mention it. They have no idea how it looks, they didnt ask or check for screenshots.

I hate that I cannot do moving (actually anything) n' shooting in RE5.
as the series turn from original survival horror to action-shooter, a more shooter friendly combat system is a nice change.
