Thanks for the tips on getting TW2 to work in stereo 3D. Unfortunately I get the white textures on my character's head appearing almost all the time. It looks amazing other than that but I find it too distracting. Another thing I noticed is that at least one cut scene didn't work in 3D - when you meet the Prophet for the first time, after she speaks for a while then gets up and has her vision, there's an out of engine cut scene that I could only view when playing without 3D Vision. While enabled, it just goes to a black screen and you can hit escape to get a dialog box asking if you want to skip it.

Hopefully there will be a fix or a proper nvidia profile especially for the random white textures on the dude's head. And I prefer to play with bloom AND HDR off to eliminate almost all eye scratching, and it still looks amazing in 3D. This is also the first time I've adjusted the convergence settings, I never really investigated how until now, and that is making quite an impact on the 3D experience for all my games.

I'm back. I get the flashy white textures on my character on the main menu, but in game I rarely get them on people's faces or my character.
I do prefer HDR turned ON, in combination with the other settings as I explained before. Game looks awesome in 3D, and HDR brings even a lot more life to this game. Different people, different tastes :-)
Dialogue scenes run with double image if you have HDR On though. I use the "engine.HDR 0" before dialogue scenes. After you type it once, next time you just have to open console and use arrow up to display the command again. no need of typing it again.
And yes, proper NVIDIA profile would be great, especially if they get fixed the random flashy white textures on faces.

On the Graphics menu there is an option called "Video in HD", just wondering if disabling that option would fix the cut scene problem.

I was wondering what the hell was going on with the prophets vision!

I've done a lot of experimenting with the settings and I can remove a lot of the instances where the faces flash white by :

engine.useinst 0
engine.clipepslarge 0
engine.shadowoccq 0

It still happens once in a while though, but not as frequently.
I've also found myself using engine.shadows 0 to remove some of those oddly rendered shadows on buildings.

Its a really strange bug, like you can get your angle the camera a certain way to get the faces constantly flickering and then go experimenting with console commands to try and isolate whats causing it. A lot of the shadow settings seem to fix it, but then if ya change your camera to another angle the white flashes pop up again. I'm aware now that even when shadows are set to off the character still has a small amount of shadows rendered on/around him..maybe if someone could find a way to disable all shadows properly then the flashes would go away.

Interestingly enough I can increase the amount of face flickering there is by adjusting these settings:
engine.shadowaltermax
engine.shadowaltermin
engine.shadowclipsize0
engine.shadowclipsize1
engine.shadowclipsize2

HDR to set to off is now a must for me in this game, its too friggin blurry & bright once ya reach the savannah otherwise.

Again thanks for the info man.
It is me or if you scroll to a close view of your character while a light source is behind his head you can actually see whats behind his head? Like if his head was translucent...

Haven't had that but I immediately used Nvidia Inspector to modify the operation flashpoint dragon rising profile to remove the ambient occlusion flags + disable it. You might also want to try changing the anti-aliasing compatibility flags to 0x000012C4 ..and maybe also disable anti aliasing you might be trying to apply yourself and just go with the in-game 1x for the moment.

--Update--

Did a quick check there, and I get the the translucent effect if I disable sli. Odd!

thanks for all the tips on getting this game to run acceptably in 3d. It looks really good except for the flashing face texture that has been discussed. I am mostly playing as a Ranger so I use the bow for most of my encounters. The aiming cursor unfortunately does not align correctly so that is a slight hinderance to playing in 3d as an archer. Since the game auto-aims for archery it isn't too big of deal unless you want to go into sniper mode.

I also hope that an official profile is released by Nvidia in the next driver release. Maybe they'll release something when the north american version releases in January.

Just as a side note, the mini dice game looks incredible with 3d on!
