Here is an interesting thread. It seems the producer of mass effect has taken noticed of it, Jesse Houston.
Hate that the same "No! 3d costs 5000!" crops up in this thread as well as the skyrim thread. It seems to be just burned into peoples minds that 3d is too expensive, or they want it to be too expensive so it'll fail and they'll feel future-proofed for a while more.

Took notice!? He slapped down the original poster for saying EA was going to make all their games 3D.

You know whats sad, all they would have to do is allow us to set their crosshair transparency to 0, that way it's still functional but then we could use nvidia 3d crosshair. It would take 30 seconds to add a transparency option for the crosshair. I really hope everyone showing their support will change his mind.

Looks like it. Sort of strange is it not? Usually you'd just lock a thread or delete or ban people making dumb dumb comments. My main theory would be that the the PR department decided that the employee who alluded that they would'nt have to make changes for the game to be usable in 3d would bite them on the ass i.e. Shadows and hud elements would still be gimped, but the main section of the game would be "fine" to play in 3d. Theory No.2. would be they didn't like the details about ME1 & 2 being bad in 3d being discussed. Then again the thread was filled with a lot of hate and they might have decided to axe it.

OMFG... They deleted the post.. Hopefully NVIDIA steps in and shows them who is boss. Those who make video cards are far more powerful than those who make video games.... I can't believe it. We live in such a corrupt freaking world...
freak me, life is evil and corrupt.
I wonder if it was Jesse Houston who deleted the post or someone else. Once the words spill out of your mouth you don't drink it back up like vomit... Cowardice.. Complete cowardice.

Reminds me of the Two Worlds 2 forums yesterday.
At about 1.30pm a moderator created a stickied post with a link to the 1.1 Gold patch and its changelog. Minutes later the thread was gone, along with the corresponding front page update over at insidetwoworlds.com. I didn't have a clue what was going on, so I asked in a thread that was speculating on the patch what had happened.
The moderators immediately removed my post! Turns out the patch was meant to be released today (and was!), but someone had jumped the gun and released it a day early. Though deleting a users post to cover up some ineptitude seems a tad excessive. My post didn't have profanity or anger in it, just me neutrally questioning what exactly was happening.
If the post was deleted to preemptively stop an influx of users wondering the same thing, then I can kind of understand that. But I think thats stretching it a bit.

Here is Jesse Houstons original response to the thread that was deleted.
Jesse Houston: "No where In the article does it confirm or deny that it is 3D enabled. It simply says that it's 3D ready, because the models are already in 3D..."

That is so disrespectful to EA investors. Investors are usually not the most tech savy people so Bioware/EA is preying upon that. Crytek however is honoring EA's announcement, Crysis 2 will feature full stereoscopic 3D support. When you say you're gaming is freaking 3D ready YOU SHOULD HONOR IT.
This just goes to show that the ONLY talented part of Bioware are their story & character writers. The rest of them are piles of lying sacks of sh*t.

lol Jenson/Gaxe, you took my post a bit too seriously(over on the new thread!), you will find I quoted Jesse in my opening line, thought you might pick up on that /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I was still serious about my last paragraph though, I think at this stage of development (since the ME3 engine is in use on the PS3 version of ME2) that the most we will get are fixes/workarounds for the previous engines s3d bugs since they won't want to risk introducing any new features that will require a lot more regression testing. Reality sucks! I'd love though if they offered full 3d support though to make my final outing (at least for shepherds story) into the Mass Effect universe nothing short of phenomenal.

Here is the thing. EA said all it titles would be 3D ready. We can hold that against them and we should. Bioware is a division of EA, they should respect and honor it. And if they don't EA investors have a right to know that EA lied.

Id'd say its more of a case that EA are trying to use terms that don't fit properly and making asses of themselves in the process. Currently 3d-Ready applies to hardware: TVs can be 3d-ready, Projectors can be 3d-ready. EA decided themselves to apply the term to software then. It could be argued that they technically are correct, in that their upcoming games consist mostly of standard 3d-models, and so its simply a matter of "flipping a switch" (as they said) and suddenly the 3d models are in stereoscopic 3d.
Where you, I, and many others will be pissed off is where nvidia made the phrase "3d-Vision-Ready" synonymous with games that have all elements working properly in s3d. EA just dropped the "Vision" part and in essence dropped the pre-requisite for having all elements functioning correctly to s3d. Its just as you have pointed out, its a lame lie/half-truth to fool investors.
--Edit-- Might be best to stop posting on the newer thread you created, the naysayers are jizzing all over it. Anything to convince themselves they aren't missing out on anything!
