[quote="Arioch1"]Helifax, is there a newer version out of the FWS tool for this game? I have the one that is part of the Helixmod V9 download but it says it's for Patch 2. The version number is 2.1.82 - Rev.2 on what I have.
Thanks again for all the work you guys do for 3D gaming! [/quote]

And why I am still using it as REV2. The FWS fix is updated so no worries. I need to send it to Hayden just didn't had the time yet...
@Jason20910:
- Regarding the fix, I simply did not had time to do more testing the last few days...been working/building on a new PC for my Dad. I had my GTX590 + an Asus Maximus V gene +I53570K CPU just laying around and I decided that his GTX295 PC is getting older and needs an upgrage.. hehe
But, I'll do more testing today and I will post it here! so no worries. So far I don't have any issues with this fix.

1x Palit RTX 2080Ti Pro Gaming OC(watercooled and overclocked to hell)
3x 3D Vision Ready Asus VG278HE monitors (5760x1080).
Intel i9 9900K (overclocked to 5.3 and watercooled ofc).
Asus Maximus XI Hero Mobo.

Creative Sound Blaster Z.
Windows 10 x64 Pro.
etc
Ok,
Did more testing and here is what works for me the best:
=================================================
I. Game Settings
=================================================
- Set the resolution and refresh rate to 120Hz and fullscreen.
- Disable V-Sync in game.
- TURN OFF MSAA. This causes a gray foggy effect.
- Post Process Quality should not be higher than "Medium" value of certain elements will render in 2D.
- Rest doesn't matter.
=================================================
II. Windows Settings
=================================================
- Set the Desktop resolution and refresh rate to the EXACT same size you are using to play the game, but use 120Hz refresh rate.
- Disable Origin In-game Overlay.
- DO NOT USE ANY OVERLAY (ex: Msi Afterburner)
- Go to Add/Remove Programs (Programs and Features). Select "View installed updates".
- In the List search for "KB2670838".
- Select it and UNISTALL IT!!
[color="orange"]This is still required, however if you want you can test it with the update installed[/color]
=================================================
III. Nvidia Drivers
=================================================
- Go to http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/ and get the latest version of DDU.
- Run it and completely PURGE the system of nvidia drivers. (Use option 1. The PC
will go to SAFE-MODE and uninstall from there).
- Once the above is done restart in normal mode.
- Get the latest Drivers [color="orange"]347.25[/color] and run the wizard
- Open NVPANEL -> Manage 3D Settings -> Program Settings and select the game.
Use these settings:
- Max pre-rendered frames: [color=orange]Leave default[/color]
- Power Mngmt : Maximum performance
- Shader Cache: [color=orange]ON[/color]
- Vertical Sync: [color=orange]On (smooth)[/color]. If you don't have that option try either ON or Adaptive.
- Rest leave default.
=================================================
IV. Other Fixes required for stability
=================================================
The following is REQUIRED for widescreen gaming, but we believe it helps with 1080p as well.
- In the download link provided below is a shortcut called "Launch FWS.lnk"
- Run the shortcut
- Enable the plugin and leave the App running. (Do not close it.)
- ** Remember to start this application each time you want to play DAI **
V. Wrapper Options
- Once you have installed the patch as explained below open the D3DFluganWrapperInit.ini file:
- Look for :
[code]
[Constants]
x = 0.3 // HUD depth, positve [0 < x <=1] =in screen, 0=screen depth, negative [-1 <= x <0]=popout
y = 0 // Unused
z = 0.0 // SLI WHITE FOG correction! If set to 1.0 SLI correction is enabled!
w = 0.0 // Surround!!! If set to 1.0 Surround correction is enabled!
[/code]
- Set z = 1.0 if you are using [SLI/SURROUND] to fix the WHITE FOG, if you experience it.
- Set w = 1.0 for Surround UI corrections [SURROUND]. (The UI is centered in
Surround and requires different corrections).
- Set x = value - to adjust the WHOLE UI depth.
=================================================
VI. Game Profiles per Hardware config
=================================================
A. Single Screen, Single GPU
- Use default profile
B. Single Screen, SLI
- Using Nvidia Inspector attach the game exe to [color="orange"]Battlefield 4[/color] profile.
- Disable COMPATIBILITY MODE (CTRL+ALT+F11) once the game starts. (Required JUST ONE TIME).
C. Surround, SLI
- Use default profile
=================================================
VII. 3D Vision Global Prerequisites:
=================================================
- Open regedit and set the following key to:
[code]
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D\StereoDefaultOn = 0
[/code]
=================================================
VIII. Run the game with Shader Cache ON.
=================================================
It is possible to run the game with the shader Cache on (which will reduce loading times drastically).
Steps:
1. Make a BAT file and paste this code:
[code]
del "C:\Users\Helifax\AppData\Local\Temp\NVIDIA Corporation\NV_Cache\"* /Q /S /F
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\DragonAgeInquisition.exe"
[/code]
2. UPDATE THE ABOVE CODE WITH YOUR PATHS!!!
3. Start the game using this BAT file.
=================================================
IX. Wrapper Install - Flugan Wrapper
=================================================
- Download latest version from HelixMod Blog (current version is V9)
- From the archive copy ONLY these files & folders:
[code]
ShaderFixes folder.
FWS folder.
"Launch FWS.lnk" file
user.cfg file
[/code]
- Paste it in GameDir/bin folder.
- Download the ATTACHED wrapper version.
- Copy everything from the archive in GameDir/bin folder.
- Start the game.
- [color="green"]This version SHOULD BE COMPATIBLE with Windows 8.1 as well !!!!![/color]
Using Flugan's wrapper I DID NOT encounter any of the following problems:
--------------------
- FIX not loading
- FIX getting disabled
- Crashing on fast travel
- Crashing on loading
- No Problem with either "Continue" or "Load Game" from the main menu.
- Multiplayer works perfect - no crashes, no disable fix, etc
- Tested using Single Monitor + SLI and Surround/SLI.
- No need for the "ALT+TAB" trick.
Using Flugan's wrapper I DID encounter the following problems:
--------------------
- One or two crashes over 10+ hours in a loading screen (but that happens even without any wrapper - game generic problem... just look at the official forums)
- One time when I traveled to Skyhold and while the FIX was still enabled things started rendering very very weird. Quitting to Main Menu and reloading fixed the issue though.
So here you go;)) My magic formula:)) Please try it out and let me/us know IF IS WORKING THE SAME FOR YOU as it does for me;))
Cheers!

Does anyone know why the game crashes when using BF4 profile and 3D Compatibility mode in Win 8?
I have to use this method since the fix doesnt address Win 8 support - just keen to play it in some form of 3D.

Great stuff Helifax.
I find it interesting that your setup is exactly the same as mine bar the flugan wrapper. So people asking for my configuration just refer to helifaxs setup post =)
Testing the flugan wrapper now.
I was tempted to play around with it when he posted it up here a few days ago but he didn't give any instructions on how to use it =/

Are you on windows 7 or win 8.1? Did you remove KB2670838 Windows Update ? I tested it on 3 different machines:
2x780Ti Surround+Single Screen, GTX590 (Sli card) Single Screen and 880M and I don't crash on fast travelling or have any problems...
Are you sure the save-game is not corrupt ? (Does the game crash if you remove the wrapper/fix ?)
Are you using the latest drivers ?
Not all the crashes are generated by the 3D Vision driver (or fix) so I am not sure what might be the problem... You might need to do some testing on your setup and see what is going on... I suggest initially to remove the fix and just have normal 3D Vision installed and see if that crashes the game. If that does you need to investigate and make the game WORK in that scenario basically. Only later add the fix on top :D
Also be sure you UNINSTALL the previous FIX (Run uninstall.bat) and start with this fix clean!
Aso be sure that Origin In-game is disabled!!!

I am on Windows 7 64-bit and I removed that update last week. I am currently using 980GTX in SLI on the new 347.25 drivers. I started from scratch using DDU and using a fresh install of the drivers. I will see if removing the fix gives the same results. I am sure it's probably on my end but wanted to give feedback regardless.

- If you have Intel RAPID STORAGE tool/driver UNINSTALL IT (from Programs aka Add/Remove Programs) under Windows. (Apparently this made the game crashing for quite a few people).
I just tested this and seems to make a difference.... After this loading, traveling crashes should be fixed ?!?!
I really hope it helps;) Just let me know if it improves stuff:)

- TURN OFF MSAA. This causes a gray foggy effect.
- Post Process Quality should not be higher than "Medium" value of certain elements will render in 2D.
- Rest doesn't matter.
=================================================
II. Windows Settings
=================================================
This is still required, however if you want you can test it with the update installed
=================================================
III. Nvidia Drivers
=================================================
- Get the latest Drivers 347.25 and run the wizard
- Open NVPANEL -> Manage 3D Settings -> Program Settings and select the game.
Use these settings:
- Max pre-rendered frames: Leave default
- Power Mngmt : Maximum performance
- Shader Cache: ON
- Vertical Sync: On (smooth). If you don't have that option try either ON or Adaptive.
- Rest leave default.
=================================================
IV. Other Fixes required for stability
=================================================
- Set z = 1.0 if you are using [SLI/SURROUND] to fix the WHITE FOG, if you experience it.
- Set w = 1.0 for Surround UI corrections [SURROUND]. (The UI is centered in
Surround and requires different corrections).
- Set x = value - to adjust the WHOLE UI depth.
=================================================
VI. Game Profiles per Hardware config
=================================================
A. Single Screen, Single GPU
- Use default profile
B. Single Screen, SLI
- Using Nvidia Inspector attach the game exe to Battlefield 4 profile.
- Disable COMPATIBILITY MODE (CTRL+ALT+F11) once the game starts. (Required JUST ONE TIME).
C. Surround, SLI
- Use default profile
=================================================
VII. 3D Vision Global Prerequisites:
=================================================
- Open regedit and set the following key to:
=================================================
VIII. Run the game with Shader Cache ON.
=================================================
It is possible to run the game with the shader Cache on (which will reduce loading times drastically).
Steps:
1. Make a BAT file and paste this code:
2. UPDATE THE ABOVE CODE WITH YOUR PATHS!!!
3. Start the game using this BAT file.
=================================================
IX. Wrapper Install - Flugan Wrapper
=================================================
- Download latest version from HelixMod Blog (current version is V9)
- From the archive copy ONLY these files & folders:
- Paste it in GameDir/bin folder.
- Download the ATTACHED wrapper version.
- Copy everything from the archive in GameDir/bin folder.
- Start the game.
- This version SHOULD BE COMPATIBLE with Windows 8.1 as well !!!!!
So here you go;)) My magic formula:)) Please try it out and let me/us know IF IS WORKING THE SAME FOR YOU as it does for me;))
Cheers!
