I have just received the Nvidia 3D vision 2 kit to go with my Benq xl2420t monitor, but have some problems.
I have it all setup correctly as far as i know, green light works and glasses flicker on, but when i try to play bf3 it crashes everytime i start the game, works fine in 2d just 3d seems to have the problem.
Also what is the best depth to use, or is this dependant on the person, i tried racedriver grid but it seemed more 2d than 3d.
Thanks i think thats it for now, no doubt there will be other things i need help with /rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Hello mate!
First thing you need to do is unlock convergence. You will need to go to the advanced [it's really not] stereoscopic options in the nvidia panel and unlock the keys to do this.
Hold down Ctrl + F6 to increase convergence. If your depth is at max and it seems 2D rather than 3D I would bet the convergence is at a minimum and you may need to hold it down for a while ~5 seconds.
As to what depth that is down to personal preference. I play at 100% and this is the depth I introduce people to 3D at. We love it.
Welcome to 3D gaming - give it a couple of weeks to learn it and you will never look back!

I have the latest nvidia drivers installed, 295.73 i think it is and thanks for link Eqzitara i will have a look through it.
I Will try them settings Andysonofbob, your probs right, just needs a bit of tweaking and to allow myself to adjust to the new way of seeing things :)
From what i have seen up to now it seems more than just a gimmick this 3D stuff, things have moved on in huge leaps from the paper glasses we used to use :)

Hi Malk12, welcome. Hope your enjoying your new toy. Are you still having issues? I have no issues with bf3/3d vision (not bragging-just stating that the issue may be pc related) are you able to run the 3d test through the nvidia control panel (the big nvidia 3d image with the letters moving in and out) without crashing. What other games have you tried. Also what games do you have loaded up, i ask some some games will be better than others while figuring out the issue. I assume the drivers are up to date.
If your crashing in more games than just bf3 i would suggest going to 3d vision live (3d pic hosting site provided by nvidia) and see if your crashing while viewing pics. Im inclined to think its a heat related issue at this point, or a power issue. If your able to view photos in 3d without crashing id check your temps firstly while gaming and secondly insure your psu is able to provide sufficent power to the gpu while gaming. 3d vision and gaming requires consiterable power and produces much heat in the process.

Good news got bf3 running in 3D, not sure why it started working, might have been some other program i did not close properly. Any way it runs around 35-60fps on medium to high settings with a single gtx570 which is good i guess for 3D.
Temps of card only hover around 57c ingame so heat is not a problem, all other games seem to work Skyrim, Blops, have others to try yet like Dead Island, Grid again now i have settings better, plus some older games.
As for power i have a Enermax infinity 720w so is should be powerful enough to run a single gtx570 with i52500k, i only have 1 hd and 2 sticks of ram.
Fingers crossed i have sorted the problem for good and can now enjoy the games in glorious 3D /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Not sure if any of you have the Benq monitor but how would i turn 3D mode off for the monitor, i know it is ctrl+T for the emitter, but my monitor green light stays illuminated after 3D is turned off, not a major issue but it stops me changing my monitor settings on the remote.

Yes for the emitter it dims from bright green, but my actual monitor stays bright green (3d mode on) and could not figure how to knock it off to use my monitor settings, only asking really as someone may have the same issue.
I sent Benq an email so will see what that brings, thanks.
