So I have the following;
TV: Samsung 40" UN40D6400 - 2011 Model
Drivers: 270.61
GPU: EVGA 896-P3-1170-AR GeForce GTX 275
When I go to play 3D games, the only option available is the 2D->3D setting. I'm new to the 3D lingo, is this the checkerboard mode? The games default to a 1280x720 60HZ mode. I can't get anything higher than 24hz when at 1920x1080. Starting in 1920x1080 60Hz mode, I get the red letterings saying it's not 1.4 3D Compatible. When I am in the 1280x720 mode, I can barely tell if anything is "3D" or not. Nothing stands out too much. I also have to put the TV's perspective almost at max, which when I take off the glasses, I can hardly tell it's in 3D mode.
Is this what I'm supposed to experience, or am I missing something. I'm able to run the tests and it looks nice in the test, but that's about it. I've tried BFBC2, StarCraft II and COD:Black Ops, and like I said, I can barely tell it's 3D.
Am I doing something wrong?
Am is this what it's supposed to look like?

You need 3D Vision to experience real 3D in games. After you get a 3D Vision kit (just the 3D Vision emitter, actually) let me know and I'll walk you through the set up which is undocumented.

Can you buy the emitter by itself, or do you have to get the kit? The glasses will be useless right?

Ops! I just noticed that you have a 2011 model Samsung which doesn't support checkerboard so you won't be able to do 3D gaming at native rez with any Nvidia software. That's because Nvidia, unlike the competition, decided they would not support the universal standard (for games) side-by-side mode. If your Samsung is a given, your choice is to use either iZ3D or TriDef 3D and game in native rez SBS mode, or, get 3DTV Play and game in super ugly scaled 720P framepacking. In any case, definitely get the free trial of iZ3D/TriDef before you get the free trial of 3DTV Play so that you can see just how bad 720P looks compared to 1920x1080 native rez. You must eyewitness the difference to appreciate how important it is to game at native resolution.
Note: In 2010, Samsung had checkerboard in all LED and Plasma models. In 2011, they all but abandoned checkerboard, only the D7000 and D8000 LEDs have CB. No CB in any Plasma models.
