I've got the Steam version of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The Medic class is the last one for me to rank up in, and last night I finally get the MG36. I've already unlocked the red dot and 4x scope sights for the Medic class, but for some reason none of those work with the MG36. Doing a simple Google search of this issue resulted quite a few hits showing it's an issue on hardcore servers, but supposedly fixed in the latest client-side patch.
Last night people were saying that the MG36's red dot should be there, so I thought it might be because I'm playing in 3D. So I disabled 3D Vision and tried again, but I got the same issue - no red dot or 4x scope for the MG36! Removing the red dot or 4x scope just leaves me with a blank circle, so I wonder if this is a 3D Vision/monitor resolution issue? I'm running at 1920x1080 on a Alienware AW2310.

I fixed the problem by uninstalling from Steam and then downloading and reinstalling again. The process took a little while, but I've now got the red dot for it.
Is the MG36 red dot only, or can the 4x scope work with it?
