BF2142 and Stereo
Have you guys been able to get the BF2142 demo to work in 3D?

I'm having a lot of trouble with the cross-hair.

The NVIDIA lasersight doesn't want to line up wiht the gunshots.

Let me know if you have any luck.

Yes, the BF2142 seems to be a bumpy road.
I can´t get the convergence to produce a good stereo, just the separation and the stereo focus is "off screen" if I may say so.

I also sometimes get out of sync with the glasses and leaves me with no stereo depending on certian angles towards certain textures i believe.

Finally, some good news!

I solved the stereo problems. There is a caveat, but I think it will work out.

1. Turn off enhanced lighting.

It's a new toggle in the setup options, and while it has no visual benefit that I can see, my understanding is that this is the Bloom/HDR option.

2. Separate ONLY, do not adjust Convergence.

For some reason, convergence throws the whole thing off. I can't get over how much convergence throws things offf. I wonder what the default convergence is?

Instead, just separate to your heart's content.

You won't be able to use the NVIDIA lasersight accurately, but the vehicle cross-hairs and unzoomed cross-hairs will be bang on.

The caveat is the zoom scope on your gun. This is interesting - when you separate, the aiming dot doesn't move, but the scope does.

So, if you can handle the scope being a bit off centre, stereo works well.

In summary, BF2142 is now a safe stereoscopic buy.

Let me know if you have better luck with the NVIDIA crosshair and convergence. It's really the gun zoom that messes things up for me.

Best wishes,
Chopper

It doesn't work for me yet, even turning off enhanced lighting.

I tryied severals combinations of convergence and separation. No sucess yet.

I'm getting "just the separation and the stereo focus is "off screen" (Like Tolou said).

What may I be doing wrong?
