I have the same monitor, and I'm having the same issues. I've tried the "fix" of reducing the contrast to 55, but it doesn't help. I'm getting so much ghosting/crosstalk in Skyrim I can't hardly handle it. Pretty disappointed since I just spent 700 on this monitor (pretty much for Skyrim and BF3). I'm also getting some pretty bad fps drops, which is frustrating, being that I have two 3gb 580s in SLI, and a i5 overclocked to 4.5 ghz. I'm going to reinstall Skyrim and see if the FPS drops are still present without any modding at all. I have a sneaking suspicion it was the 1.3 patch that is causing this.
Does anyone have any other fixes for ghosting and framerate drops? Also, is there a way to revert back to Skyrim 1.1?
What sort of framerate drops are you seeing? I'm running the same monitor in 3D with 2 1.5GB GTX580s in SLI, and an i7 950 OC'd to 4.0 GHZ, so we should be pretty close.

So your advice is to halve his VGA performance and sell his 27" monitor (as well as any speakers or headsets) in favor of a 720p headset with a virtual display? I checked out a few reviews of this thing and they all seem fairly consistent: 1) It's heavy and can really only be be worn comfortably for 30 minutes to an hour, 2) the VIRTUAL 5.1 surround is merely passable (and there's no way to use your own audio), and 3) it's essentially an $800 toy and wouldn't replace either a TV OR a computer monitor.

I'm going from about 50-60 fps normally, dropping to 20-30 when I enable 3d vision (It hits low 20's in certain areas). I think BF3 is running better than this game for me, I and can't figure out why. With two 580s, I should be at about 80 fps, dropping to 40 with 3d (or even better). I am totally reinstalling skyrim now (so I can try it without mods or ini tweaks) and I'm going to see if that makes it any better.

Its not a bug limited to 3D Vision, GeForce, 1.3 or anything else, its the aging GameBryo engine. You can google this and find its a common complaint about Skyrim on the PC. Basically you see FPS drop if you face certain directions or in towns, most likely due to render distance or draw calls for increased number of objects in your viewport. I doubt we will see any improvement here unless they update the engine to make better use of modern CPUs; using more than 2 CPU cores would be a good start.

Yeah, that is strange...actually sounds similar to when I first started up the game in 2D and thought it wasn't performing quite as well as I thought it would, and then discovered I hadn't enabled SLI since my last driver update... I would check out the STEP mod, since he's got a lot of really great mods, and some ini and driver level tweaks that also help (some for visual quality, others for performance). Also, if you use Mod Organizer, it keeps the mods separate from the skyrim directory and injects them virtually when you start the game, so you can enable and disable mods without actually messing around in the data folder. This comes in especially handy when you're trying to nail down what's causing crashes and/or framerate slowdowns. I woud also use the Skyrim4GB mod to let Skyrim use more than 3GB of memory (if you're not already), and check out the 3D Vision mod for some 3d vision fixes (though water is still an issue). As for the crosstalk, lowering the Contrast to 55 actually helped me a good deal. I still see crosstalk occasionally (typically on the loading screen or in areas with lots of bright snow), but even in those 2 areas it's not too bad, and I can't see it at all in general gameplay. Hope these help. and here are links to the mods I mentioned (if you don't have them):

1/ heavy yes, use a £3 hat ( mod widely available online) and it spreads the weight around allowing to play for hours with no discomfort. But out of the box yes it is uncomfortable.
2/ no way to use your own equipment = slide headphones up and use your own sound system ( I use my own 7.1 receiver n speakers)
3/ £800 toy yes won't replace a TV as I wouldn't watch the news on it no, but play skyrim like ure actually there... Let me tell you that's an experience like no other !!!!
It might be 720p but because the OLED screens ( and not horrible led or worse LCD that can't display a bit of black) are so small 0.7 inch the pixel density is amazing ! U can actually crank up anti aliasing full blast and what seems to be a low resolution at first turns out to look stunning.
You're right, I use to think exactly the same as you about the resolution and all that but once use actually tried them, as I said, there's no going back!!!! I owned a kuro 9th gen and the blacks are actually better on the headset !!!! Colurs are very natural, and obviously because you get two screens there's no crosstalk or ghosting AT ALL. Now can you say the same about your " 27inch" monitor ? no... I didn't think so.
Again it won't replace your tv but hey you wouldn't replace ur tv for a monitor either would you? Tv for family and friends, headset when ure on your own and you want 100% immersion and believe me it's more like 200% immersion!
Now before criticising my advice please try it first and then get back to me bikeracer. Ive had crts, lcds, LEDs , plasma and now OLED , so it's fair to say that I know what I'm on about.
Again it's only my advice, I would sell the screen, one of the the GPUs and get the Sony headset.

I would be careful with the amount of mods u try from the STEP guide.
I decided the other day to use them all and well yes it does look a lot better, but even in 720p ( see my previous post lol) I get horrible fps in 3d partly due to the amount of mods I've used but also because as bikeracer mentioned, the game engine is getting old and has been said to use the CPU a lot more than GPU, so sometimes u might be only using 30/40% of ur GPUs ( which translate as using 70/80% of only one gpu) dreadfully optimised! But hey what do u expect from a console port! Battlefield 3 runs miles better for me too as it was designed for PC in the first place ( well at least that's what they say! I doubt it sometimes lol) .
Best mods out there are obviously texture mods that make the world so much more real and natural but are taxing ur gpu memory ( skyrim HD mod anyone lol)

Haha, okay okay, point taken. I'll have to see if I can find a pair to try out at some point. Nevertheless, I think we're looking for workarounds rather than a system overhaul.

Fair one mate,That's why I suggested reducing mods amounts :p well my trouble is that bloody water and if my psu hadn't played tricks on me 2 days ago I'd be testing boris enb series ( which also makes skin and lighting very real if u watch the videos on his website) has anyone actually tried it to see if the water prob has gone ?

I'm going from about 50-60 fps normally, dropping to 20-30 when I enable 3d vision (It hits low 20's in certain areas). I think BF3 is running better than this game for me, I and can't figure out why. With two 580s, I should be at about 80 fps, dropping to 40 with 3d (or even better). I am totally reinstalling skyrim now (so I can try it without mods or ini tweaks) and I'm going to see if that makes it any better.

I'm getting a steady 50-60 fps with 3D Vision in Skyrim (with some mods, mostly graphical ones) with my two 460's. On the other hand, I get the same frames in BF3 in 3d Vision as you get in Skyrim. Weird. What Processor do you have btw? I've got a i5 2500K @ 4,2gHz, so maybe one game is more gpu dependent and the other is more cpu dependent?

enb series smashed my fps when in caves for some reason, so Im just using a custom shader and it looks great :)
I'm also interrested if you can your shader, for now I'm using fxaa with a more realistic color scheme. But I love the render of you screens, and also, the dress of your character which is beautiful did you have the nexus link too? Thank you santa /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
