Hello,
I've taken advantage of Origin deals and bought the game
I can only manage to run it in fake3D, and I did not find any place discussing the issue
should I presume ... :) that I've wasted 2€ ?
thanks
Crysis 2-3 isn't fixed and i never heard someone is working on it.
Bo3b told something about difficulties with this engine version. Probably we could never see this game working with geometry 3D unfortunately

All the Crytek engine games have the exact same approach to generating shadows (I know I have looked at all of them), unfortunately I have never been able to fix them. I can fix everything else... I also got Crysis3 in the Origin sale, and plan on having a fresh look in the New Year, using 3DMigoto, but don't hold your breath...

Frankly me personally would have absolute maximum happiness level if i ever would be able to play Crysis 1 in fixed 3D... With no fixes you may play Crysis 1 in 3D only if you turn almost everything - light, shadows, most of effects - all things that make this game look like real.
But Crysis 2 and, expecially Crysis 3 should looks amaizing in 3D.

Used Crysis 1 to test my dx10 wrapper. The approach I used in DX11 didn't work in crysis.
It's currently on a break.
Appears I need to learn from 3Dmigoto how hunting is done there.
What I have come up with so far appears to lack something.
Especially on Crysis that loads new shaders very rarely.
Without Crysis I would probably not consider it an issue.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?
Actually the Crytec engine can render a real stereographic image - however the internal 'cvars' need to be unlocked to do so.
As luck would have it, by the time I'd gotten bored with Crysis2 Crytec had finally unlocked and exposed all the needed .ini and .cfg file settings for this to happen. The same thing I think happened with Crysis3 - a few of us camped out in the Crytec forums asking/begging for the needed settings to be unlocked+exposed so that users could change them, I lost interest in the game so never hung around to see if the issues were ever resolved.
I do recall Crytec had a out of game 'tool' which could tweak many of the settings. The tool is not included with the game and I'd last seen it on the Crytec forums. (along with the supporting forum posts on how to use it)

Hey cool, I hadn't heard about them supporting true stereo. I found this in the CryTek documentation:

No promises of course, but I expect to get back to this for ShaderHackers school.

Great to hear that it could be fixable. If shadows are the big issue, a fix with shadows off would be great at least for me, I'll take 3d without shadows over 2d plus shadows any day. Just wishful thinking on my part though, you guys are doing so much to fix other games that I feel almost embarrassed commenting this. I will try to give a look at the shaderkacker post and see if I could be able to give something back, but I'm terrible with technical stuff.

If you don't mind playing shadows off, I've already got a working disable style fix on the blog:

It actually looks pretty sweet already with those tweaks, water still looks great, sky is still good. Only real drawback is no shadows.

Bo3b, when you turn off shadows in game settings, you disable lighting as well.
Furthermore you have no any sign of shadows from trees leaves. In this case game lookng become unacceptable.
does the fix do the same?

I don't understand what you mean. The fixes described for editing the .ini files on the blog page give you the results seen in the snapshots there. I make no pretense that this is awesome, but it's now playable instead of eye-bleedingly bad.

There is an upcomming game using the cry engine for real 3d. Its Star Citizen and it already supports real 3d (no fake) using the cry engine.
Here is a link on how to enable real 3d:
https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/49857/nvidia-3d-vision-support/p1
it uses the same settings as described on the cry engine page:
http://docs.cryengine.com/display/SDKDOC2/Sandbox+Stereo+Usage+and+Manipulation
so there might be hope for crysis 3?
