I like the look of it, but that is one seriously busy HUD. If all/most of that renders at screen depth, it's going to be a nightmare parsing it all out.

Just tried pirate copy (for testing, I got preorder). Nvidia's fake 3D sucks obv. Real 3D is broken. Numerous issues, pretty much everything what AC3-4 had before fix. In terms of depth and stereo effect the game is on par with latest AC titles. This means, it will play great in 3D if fixed.
Few screenshots with default conv:

PS: ran little further. I take my words back. It will not be as good as AC4, it will be better! There are TONS of visual effects and HUD elements that shine in 3D.

WOW, thanks for posting these. That does not look too bad at all - shadows and lights are 2D as is bloom, but character markers and stuff are 3D which is a big win. The rest of the HUD can be pushed in a bit, maybe with a bit more attention to the cross-hair, which also looks 2D (the dot thing).
If you can get some outdoor screenshots with other effects (particularly rain and reflection effects in puddles for example), that will help understand what else might be involved. Is skybox broken? What about decals (blood after shooting someone)? I've had trouble fixing decals in the AC games, and am still working on that.

Experimented a bit. Notes:
3D is busted (as the screenshots demonstrate), but much of the hud (excluding things that are constantly onscreen like map and crosshair) is in depth.
The nVidia laser sight seems to be trying. It moves in and out of depth slightly, but not enough, and doesn't converge on close objects enough.
3D Performance on a single 770 with fairly high settings at 1080p is around the 35fps mark. 2d is around 60. It feels fairly smooth and playable even at this framerate.
There appears to be SLI flags in nVidia inspector, but performance seems identical with SLI on and off. Hopefully a working SLI profile comes out.
Playing with a mouse and keyboard is a bit crap. Seems to have some kind of negative mouse acceleration, and trying to drive a car with a keyboard is never a good idea. Swapping back and forth for driving/shooting might be an option, or just stick with controller.

Played the first couple hours, to decide whether or not I want to buy it. A few more notes, with no spoilers:
I played in 3d compatibility mode. It works surprisingly well on my projector (first time I've played a game in compatibility mode on my projector). I would expect it would look a little more disappointing on a monitor.
Feels pretty much like any other modern open world game, but lacks the silliness of something like Saint's Row.
The hacking is a nice addition, but so far it's not been anything particularly revolutionary. Nice to have though.
Driving feels great.
Shooting is fine, I've not experimented with weapons much though.
Based on what I've played I expect to buy it at some point. It's not grabbed me enough to push it's way to the top of my pile of shame though, and at this point that's the only way a game gets a day-1 purchase from me.
What do you say : start playing this game or wait for 3d fix?
If you want to play it, you could comfortably do so with compatibility mode on a projector. If you're gaming on a monitor it's probably worth holding out for a fix.

Both Mike and I are interested in this game, so we are going to take a look at it at least. No guarantees of course, it's a brand new engine. Mike mentioned above that he thought it wasn't too bad off, and has some potential. No way to tell until we can dump the shaders.
Right now, it can't be done, because the game is x64, and migoto is only x32. Since Mike wants to look at the game, I'll be seeing if I can make an x64 that work in it. This is non-trivial work, so we'll see.
As far as play now or wait- only you can decide. No ETA, too many unknowns.
Some screen shots I ran across:

Mostly it's shadows broken, so if we can even just turn off shadows, it will be playable, if not as good.

If you move your mouse really slowly across the table, does the in-game movement slow down until it eventually stops entirely? If so, it sounds like it's the same quirk that AC2 had. Turning off "enhanced pointer precision" in Windows helped with that, so it may help here too.
