How do you handle donations, people? Do people send the money as friends through paypal? Does paypal have fees for that? I recently received a donation, a few days ago, and for that I made a business account and created a donations button. From there, I received 14.06€ out of 15€.

You don't pay tax if you send money to a friend in paypal, depending the country ;). I sent 10€ for a friend in europe, he received 10€, you just have to not choose the Paypal protection. That's awesome you fixed Styx 2,Edith Finch and Little Nightmares. I will wait a very big cut off on the prices before thinking of them. Good luck and keep us informed ;). I will help too sooner or later. Thank you all the shaderhackers!

I'm all in for more donations, but I wish we just could pay per download, lets say 2-3$ in that way every body would be forced to donate. But I guess it's not that easy to do ! Just sent you 10.51 to split between Styx and Edith Finch. There's no such thing as taxes for sending a small donation to a friend, but some of us have to pay an exchange fee, because of the different valutas, and thats it ! It's just a handfull of guys that keeps our beloved 3D gaming alive, let's show our support now!! THANK YOU DHR :)

Excellent idea DHR, Helifax and others active shaderhackers should be doing this! I'm in for Little nigmares and What remains of Edith finch. A fix for Mafia 3 (you've started early) should raise the funds you would ask because it's a great game after patches and very nice DLC and should look totally awesome in 3Dvision ;) Cheers

I hope your method works, DHR. It's certainly more efficient than saying "I will buy and fix X game for Z amount of money", because some games may be unfixable or have big issues that make them not "3D Vision ready" (like those two shaders I found in Bayonetta, grrrr), and then you would be breaking a money-made promise. It's also different from the Skyrim paid mods fiasco (which was abandoned). In that case, they are additions to a game that can or can't work (alone or with other mods at the same time), that you may or may not like, and you can use a lot at the same time (which could amount to a lot of money). With 3D fixes, it's just one per game and you know what you can expect: a full and great 3D experience.
If you work something out with master Otaku, who is doing great work and loved his recent fix for yoka laylee. I'll also send him 20USD. That's a small price to pay for the hours spent on fixing these games.
I'm holding you to your word! (haha, no. You can totally back off if you want :p)

Thanks! 20.00 USD as promised. Hope more shader hackers gob this route rather then retiring. It's unfortunate when people don't feel appreciated. I don't mind showing my gratitude with donations considering how much I enjoy 3d gaming.

That's what I get for studying web development instead of software development).

Well... DHR the reason you haven't had a thank you from me recently, (or a donation for that matter) is looking like I haven't actually played anything you have fixed, at least for a long time. That said I am perfectly happy to pay for fixes of games I want. but typically in the past I donate games to people as a thank you. (and there is a list I am working through) That said, I think this is a good idea. It allows you too get back something for your work, and allows people to get together and share the load, or outright donate the required amount. Disappointed, that people are just take take take without even a thank you. Generally would expect more of the community here and I assume anyone who actually uses 3dvision is here in some capacity. I hope anyone else among our more talented shaderhackers who maybe getting frustrated (I know it's a lot of work and people can be dicks) consider this route instead of disappearing as well. You guys are the ones that are keeping this technology alive.

I'm very happy!!!! not because the donation, but because the mechanic is working very well...With this i was planning to achiev others objetives: 1) Others shaderhackes adopt this method....because you feel rewarded and that is an incentive. Hope more shaderhackers jump in. 2) Others new shaderhackers appear to the scene, because this reward. This is a direct contribution to the 3D scene. 3) Now with donations, we can buy games earlier.....so we can have a potencial fix sooner. Better for all. 4) Also we potencial kind of know the real dimension of our 3D community (i first thought about 30-40 active users that download fixes, but nopes....more than 300)... we need more active users, if not 3D will be dead very soon.....software can always be tweaked or modified....but Harware no...take time and a lot of money) EDIT*** 5) if this help to 4everAwake to come back to the communty...i hope jump in again. I update the second post with the last donations. So i will upload the fixes (Styx 2, Edith Finch and Little Nightmares) today later night or tomorrow. Edith Finch is really a master piece...amazing game...if you like the genre you will enjoy a lot. I personally recommend this tittle....like i say i start the game and finished in one session...can't stop playing.
