Its probably Borderlands 2, if something physx related isnt even on screen but is happening nearby it even seems to effect your FPS. I cant say confidentally its borderlands 2 since your FPS is a bit lower then what I'd expect. Try it on any other U.E.3 game your fps will be a lot higher. Its got some optimization issues especially considering PHYSX especially since its kind of an go ape shit effect in borderlands 2(though its amazing). I run at 720p and have your exact same specs and me dropping to 59 fps makes me raise my eyebrow. In borderlands 2 I can drop to high 40's with physx heavy scene. I can see a difference without SLI on that's for sure ! 3D takes up massive horse power , SLI setup comes into its own . I only hope developers stay with these engines for a few years sick of Good looking games that produce poor quality performance ! Wtf here we go again, no 3D even for the new Tom Raider. Could strangle these devs. This is a worrying trend. Anyway thanks for the headsup Defected!

Wow. That response sucks about Tomb Raider, as I already preordered it from GMG, but keep in mind it might still work or at the very least may be fixable, ie Dishonored. I was going to preorder that one but when I checked over on their forums about 3D Vision it didn't look very promising, which I know most of the comments are just negativity from the (idiotic half of the) community but either way it doesn't look good for the company if they don't respond or show interest in what people want. 3D doesn't take a damn thing away from the people that are so hellbent against it, it's a shame.

Some of the best games in 3D are not considered 3D Ready. The games that are labelled 3D Ready often have locked convergence. Mafia 2 sucked in 3D, but thankfully with unlock convergence tool and disabling a few shaders fixed that problem huge. My point is, I don't get excited about "3D Vision Ready" games since the implementation is usually crap. No wonder there are nay sayers. Wait until the title is out and hopefully a demo is available to actually test in 3D with your preferred settings. Fallout 3/New Vegas, Oblivion, Morrowind and Skyrim are some of the best games to play in 3D, fixes included of course. I find it kind of ironic that Bethesda completely ignores any 3D implementation during their development cycle and then their product ends up being some of the best in 3D! (thanks to the 3D community) I was disappointed with The Witcher 2 in 3D until I used community fixes to get it working the way I like it. Supposedly a 3D Vision Ready title....WTF!!!!!!

I am very, very sad about Tomb Raider... Looks like it will be DX9 though, so some of the clever Helix Modders might be able to do something with it if it turns out to be bad.

@Defected I assume you mean Deus Ex - Human Revolution? If so, you can unlock depth and convergence with this little utility. Instructions: Create this simple batch file (use notepad or notepad++ which is freeware, google it) It's worth downloading because of the extended support of files of this nature. Makes easy for editing and tweaking all kinds of files. Call your file 3D_Unlocker.bat (ensure it is a batch file) Here is the simple contents of the bat file.
NET STOP "NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D Driver Service" PAUSE NET START "NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D Driver Service"
Then to Run it before launching Deus Ex - Human Revolution, follow these instructions and then your depth and convergence should be unlocked so you can adjust. I've managed to get it to acceptable in 3D. 3D Solution The latest patch (18/10/2011) added support for Nvidia 3D Vision to this great game, but also disabled the workaround we posted when the game was released. This solution is specially dedicated to the 3D users that consider the 3D effect offered by the in game settings insufficient. It should work on all versions of the game (DX9 only as we've tested), including the DLC Missing Link, and will enable back Nvidia 3D drivers adjustments for depth and convergence. 1- Create batch file (3D_Unlocker.bat) 2- Run it as admin. It'll stop the NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D Driver Service. 3- Launch the game in DX9. *Important, must be DX9 4- After loading the game, press Alt+Tab and select the .bat file, that should be still open, and press "enter" or "space". The Nvidia Stereoscopic 3D Driver Service will start. 5- Alt+Tab back to game and adjust depth and convergence using the Nvidia drivers, as you would normally do in any other game. I also use this same utility to unlock convergence and depth for Mafia II. I do use Helix debugger DLL to disable Vertex Shader 34 and 53 and Pixel Shader 34. For some reason I have to use the debug DLL to disable these shaders each time I run the game, no biggy because it only takes a few seconds. You can find info on the Helix Debug DLL here and how to use it. Once you've disabled the above shaders, F11 key disables the red message at top. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/513190/3d-vision/how-to-fix-disable-shaders-in-games-dll-guide-and-fixes-/ Mafia II is now pretty good in 3D with adjusting depth and convergence and creating the toyification effect. Learning how to do these sorts of things not only help yourself, but can share with the 3D community. Sorry that my help is limited since I am currently unable to actually fix shaders. I am quite happy though with Mafia II Hope this helps! Cheers

How much performance impact will 3D cause ? I noticed Skyrim on ultra settings runs perfect but when I kick on 3D my frames drop a bit . I understand the game falls to 60 FPS but even 60 can drop to 40 at times on ultra settings . Left for dead I can crank up holding 300 frames easy but when I use 3D my frames drop unless I turn down shadows and textures .

The common belief is that it halves your framerate, but its sometimes less. Like seen in this benchmark of the GTX680 done at 3dVision-blog.com

I think Bloody (the reviewer) had vsync on or something to the the 60fps maximum. SLI works great in most games. The only meaningful values as it relates to this conversation are the games in which both values and under 60pfs, like BF3.
