Got some money...
Thinking about a 3 screen 3D setup. 27 inch screens minimum. Right now I'm using a AMD 6970 card on a 55" LG passive 3D TV at 1080p with iz3D drivers. The iz3D drivers don't do multiple screens. I had tried a first generation ASUS 3D 22". the screen was too dark, too small, and too much ghosting. from what I've read the passive 3D is still better than the 2nd generation active screens. is it? Is an Nvidia card capable of driving 3 3D screens at 1080p? Is the second generation active 3D technology as good as passive 3d? Will an Nvidia card drive 3 passive 3D screens? I'm using a AMD 1100t 6 core CPU on a dual 16x PCI-e mobo with 16Gb ram. I'd like to keep the upgrade under 2 grand. Thanks for the help. John

What do you mean iz3D drivers do not do multiple screens? Wouldn't that be controlled by eyefinity? Nvidia does not officially support passive displays for 3D Vision surround. I had an LG Passive 3D HDTV, I returned it! Too much ghosting and too much lag!

AMD doesn't have native 3D support. So whatever 3D drivers are used; they must be eyefinity compatable. The iz3D drivers are not and the company went out of business. The only other option is the TriDef drivers. They only support AMD HDMI 1.4 with a max resolution of 720p with a refresh rate of 24fps. totally worthless in my opinion. BTW both the lag and ghosting you mentioned was caused by not turning off the 120Hz "truevision" feature. Like you, I was very unhappy with the same issues you had but was fortunate to find the undocumented adjustments in a forum thread to correct the problem. John

Yah, I know all about renaming the input and swicthing truemotion off. Where do you get that they only support 720P@24Hz, you need to get some fresher air or something.

Thank you for the links. Are you currently using a 2nd gen active display?

I'm playing on a triple 3D setup. I have 3 Asus VG278H's and 2 gtx680's. I think it's fantastic but it is (too?) expensive.

$2137.57 from Newegg. That's the upper limit of what I want to spend. It's between a setup like yours or an HMD. John
