Optoma UHD 40 / 50 3D Vision Projector (1920x1080 @120Hz)
13 / 13
I would assume that they would apply the HDMI 1.4 type of stereoscopic flags to one of the inputs and have Frame Sequential apply on the other.
You can try phoning Optoma and ask to talk to an engineer/tech. Viewsonic was really good about getting someone on the phone with hands on knowledge
I am using the Edid for the UHD40 on my HD27HDR, and sometimes in games I cannot see the DSR resolution for higher than 1920x1080 for 120hz. Anyone know why this might be? I also cannot play certain games at all, such as Final Fantasy 12 when this happens. I just get the interlaced image with no 3d and it is flickering. Maybe restarting the pc can help sometimes. Resyncing the projector does not seem to fix it.

I am interested in one of these 2 projector models. (Optoma UHD40/HD27HDR)
Could you confirm if your nvidia Vision 2 glasses work correctly with these models?
I would like to connect to my PC with nvidia usb dongle, and the EDID help modified to work in sequential frame, but I still need to solve the question of the glasses, before buying one of these models.

Concerning Optoma UHD 40 3D Vision glasses didn't work properly for me. Periodically I saw ghosting. However another user had zero issues with ghosting + 3D Vision glasses. Still unclear why it worked for him and not for me.
When reading through the topic of HD27HDR it seems like it doesn't work 100% perfect out of the box with 3D Vision glasses but after tuning a bit it should work fine.

I had no real issues with using the 3d vision glasses on my hd27hdr, except that green ghosting that shows up sometimes, depending on the color and brightness of things in the game. It is not really that bad imo. Not sure if glasses related or proejctor.

Just my 2 cents on DLP glasses. Follow pauldusler recommendation (thanks)
I bought both the Andoer G15 and the EXPAND x103 and did a comparison.
The Andoer G15 weights less and smaller. You won’t feel them on your eyes and nose. It also kind of fragile. The EXPAND is bulky
And heavy and very similar to the Nvidia glasses but it’s more sturdy.
The Andoer is more sensitive to the Nvidia emitter and conflicts with it. The results is weird colors and artifacts on the screen.
If I “hide” the emitter behind the computer it is no longer has influence on the Andoer glasses.
The most important difference between these glasses is ghosting.
While The XPAND has ZERO ghosting the Andoer certainly have small amount of ghosting.
in my opinion if you debating which glass to buy - go for the XPAND one which has zero ghosting. Now, I’m going to buy couple more for more viewers.
Some weeks ago I “declared” that the Nvidia glasses work with the projector.
For some reason I now see this greenish ghosting like other users experience so I don’t think you should rely on these glasses.

Maybe we can still optimize the 3D Vision glasses for the projector with the new timing tool for the glasses available somewhere on the forum here. Have you already tried this approach? I will try and report the results then.
My 3D Vision emitter doesn't influence the glasses but they do on my remote control of the projector. For fixing this I set the sync mode of the usb pyramid to "Multi IR Environment" with 3DFM.
In my opinion the Andoer have less ghosting than the Xpand Edux. Never saw ghosting with them. I mainly compared this in high contrast scenes in Dead Space 2 with a bright light sources on a dark background. Interesting that results might differ. Generally the Edux are good glasses but they are totally overpriced. They aren't rechargable and their quality are a bit worse than the 3D Vision glasses which come with comfortable temples but the edux don't.

Interesting that your results are opposite to mine Paul. Maybe there is a variance in manufacturing quality.
When I’ll get the extra expand glasses I’ll comapre them and see if they differ.
My emitter also effect my remote control and randomly bring the onscreen setting. I’ll try the multi IR solution. Thanks.
When I’ll have time I’m also gonna try the timing tool and see if we can use the Nvidia glasses.
I’ll update.
