Check out tridef...I'm able to play just about any game in 60hz 3d in resolutions from 1080p to 4k. Hopefully nvidia will update 3d vision as well but for now I'm happy with tridef.
I did check out tridef...I only dabbled in it, but I would have thought that games that are built with 3D in mind would just work out of the box. I tried to play Tomb Raider, which looks amazing without tweaking on my 3dvision monitor, but it really just didn't work.
Is there a lot of tweaking you need to do? Do the tridef definitions give people the ability to fix weird UI issues in games?

I also would like to see 3DTV Play support HDMI 2.0 3D.
Plus I'd like to see Dual Passive Projection supported via HDMI. It can be done on using Radeon GPUs.
I'd like a 3d bluray to work but they dont seem to have the ability to fix things anymore.
Have they lost a lot of programmers/talent or something ?
No 3D bluray, no new games with 3D, poor SLI support on release day new titles.
It's weak sauce! Especially 3D when the oculus rift is on the horizon. Now would be the time to give it another push surely!?!
I bet it's just one line of code that needs changing!
its time they give something back!

Guys, This is the response I got from Nvidia on 1080p 60hz 3D:
Hi Bart,
Due to the competitive nature of this business and general company policy, we are not able to provide any information on future unannounced NVIDIA software products or features. Once any new 3DTV Play functionality has been officially announced by NVIDIA marketing, we would be glad to answer any questions you may have regarding this product. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. Please check back on our website peridically for new product information at a later date.

I suggest that you contact Nvidia and let them know that you want this feature! I'ts really silly that they don't have it yet as their is no reason for not having 3DTV play 1080p 60hz on a HDMI 2.0 display.

Still not possible yet. I most likely got a canned Nvidia response, and I suggest you open a support ticket and complain as well. The more people that complain the better the chance Nvidia can get off their laszy ass and do something for us.

Such bullshit. I invested a ton of money in a Panasonic VT25 and 3DTV play a few years ago. What a WASTE!
They really blew it with 3DTV play. You are limited to 1080p24 or 720p60. Must be a limitation of HDMI, because there is absolutely no use for 1080p24 for gaming. Of course 720p60 3D looks like ass upscaled, even on my high end Panasonic plasma. It just makes stuff like jaggies and other graphical issues more pronounced.
Playing 3d games in 1080p60 is great though, too bad the TV manufacturers and Nvidia ruined it with the whole 24hz thing. Don't even get me started on Sony's pathetic attempt on PS3. I would love to get a remaster of Motorstorm Pacific Rift 1080p60 3D. I wonder if the PS4 could handle that though.
Yes, those modes were selected as the possible modes on Blu-Ray 3D, and no, that is NOT the limiation in HDMI; only the minimum required! nvidia have specifically chosen to cripple their driver to this subset of the modes HDMI's 3D extensions can (and do) describe. The closest to a rational explanation they might have is that frame packed mode always switches to 3D automatically, but that's a driver/firmware issue in the first place and a mere inconvenience for the user. As far as I know, there's pretty much only one 3D HDMI device that actually prefers one of these (720p60 frame packed on HMZ-T1) over 1080p60 top&bottom. Even broadcast TV uses half-SBS rather than mess with their distribution formats.

I recently bought an LG 4K TV (UB950) and look forward to upgrade my Livingroom-machine to a NVidia card. Just need to decide how much money I'll throw out of the window (970/980) ;-)
Theoretically it should work! Just need to bypass my only HDMI 1.4a capable AVR by connecting a cable directly from the GPU card to the TV's HMDI input...

HDMI 1.4b was released on October 11, 2011.[142] One of the new features is that it adds the ability to carry 3D 1080p video at 120 Hz – allowing frame packing 3D format at 1080p60 per Eye (120 Hz total).[143] All future versions of the HDMI specification will be made by the HDMI Forum that was created on October 25, 2011.[39][144]

Any experiences?
Otherwise, I'll keep updated about my future steps..

mag81- suggest you get at least 980, since 3840x2160 creates a considerable processing load for the GPU(s), and use the LG EDID override discussed at https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/818183/3d-vision/gtx-970-4k-3d-vision-gaming-success-with-lgub850v-passive-tv-/7/.
By the way, you may consider contacting NVIDIA support and requesting an update to the ancient 3DTV Play product. See https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/809649/3d-vision/please-add-hdmi-2-0-support-to-3dtv-play-/post/4474215/#4474215 for more information. This may be the only option available for those with active 4K 3D TVs (like Samsung's), unless someone can create a EDID mod with 4K active display timing.
