Acceptable stereoscopic 3D for Alienware OptX 2310?
1 / 3
I'm under the impression that I have everything set up perfectly, but the setup wizard disagrees.
The general messages I've been getting are to the tune of "stereo mode not enabled".
I get the big red warning that says I'm attempting to run stereoscopic 3D in a non-stereoscopic 3D mode, and nvsttest.exe tells me that stereo mode is not enabled.
I'm using the Alienware OptX 2310 monitor with a dual DVI cable, I've got it set to 120Hz and it's at 1980x1050 (native).

it's off by default
Are you sure about that. Every time I install new drivers, it is enabled by default.
I think it's enabled because it remembers your last settings ,when installing new drivers..not entirally sure tho.
If I'm correct I remember ,I needed to turn it on myself..not 100% sure tho.
If you're talking about the stereoscopic 3D checkbox, that's exactly what's giving me the error that my monitor isn't in stereo mode. Otherwise I can't find any other settings like that in the nvidia control panel.

Have you tried installing the monitor drivers. They should have come with it on a CD. If not grab the latest ones. That may be why the Nvidia drivers are not recognising your display.

I've got that set up, I'm thinking it's the video card's driver or the stereoscopic 3D driver.

Dumb question but do you have the 3Dvision kit with the transmitter and glasses? I only ask because you didn't mention them.
If so, is your ir transmitter plugged in with the green light on? Looks like the error I get on my laptop when I forget to plug in the transmiter. Another thing it could be is when you run the setup wizard, are you choosing your monitor or does it say 3d vision discover. A couple of time I just hit next next next and my monitor wasn't selected by default.
