Need Help Making a Decision
Hello my fellow 3d enthusiasts... lol.

Just this past Monday I purchased the 3d vision kit with the 22 inch Viewsonic 120hz moniter. I am simply amazed at the quality and level of 3d with this set. The only thing is.... I absolutely HATE the screen size. it's too damn small.. lol. I know your thinking "well get a projector then"... I wish I could but I simply don't have a room that I can setup to make actual decent use of the thing. So I've been reading on these forums and others that DLP's can do it... I also though I spotted that some PLASMA's can do this also....

That is my question...can anyone confirm that a plasma at 42" would work... does it have to be a certain plasma? The Nvidia website requirements page does not list any plasmas... so that's why i didn't even bother to look into it until now. I would go out and get one so that I can get a much bigger picture....

Thank you all in advance!

sorry bout the thread topic... sorta bombed that... lol

Here's a suggestion for a projector if your room is too small to make good use of it.

In your small room, mount it on the ceiling near the wall above where you want the screen. Then bounce the beam off of a mirror on the opposite side of the room and onto the screen below the projector. This makes the room effectively about twice as long and it means you need a mirror about half the size of the final display. You should be able to sit comfortably on a couch below the mirror. The projector should have a mirrored-out mode that you can use or else just turn the projector sideways and use a second "first surface" mirror so that the final image is not mirrored. But be warned that the big mirror can make your image a little wavy. I can't be sure if you would be happy with that. It's a subjective thing. I don't know about the plasma screen but I thought if you have room for a plasma, you should have room for a projector.

You can also consider ViewSonic PJD6381 Projector when they fix the compatibility with 3d vision. This is a short throw projector that is capable of delivering projected image with big diagonal from much shorter distance than a normal projector would. These are just becoming available on the market and although being marketed as 3D Vision compatible, they still have some issues to fix.

As for big screen TV, as long as it supports 120 Hz signal coming from the PC and not just internally converting the TV signal to 120 Hz it should be ok. And the bad news is that there are just a few new models LCD TVs that are capable of this, besides DLP the ones listed on Nvidia's website...
