That flicker is what I get in my games. Look at the Nvidia logo at 0:07, that is how moving objects in 3D look on ym OLED. I do have the EDID overrriten properly. Had the same issue before I did the EDID properly.
That is the Nvidia test pattern isn't it? It is set to run at 2160p on my computer. I tried to lower the test pattern resolution to 1080p in case there was some bandwidth issue. Same result.

Seems like the story goes back to 2015? Maybe CRU didn't work as intended to that time.

Changing my input connection to PC fixed the flickering issue. Now I have new issues:
So for some of the games, 4K is too much for the GPU and for my system for Arkham Knight. Across the board, wheneneber I bump my resolution down, I get 3D but its not full screen. for whatever reason in full screen mode, the picture is surrounded by black borders that stretch to the ends of my screen instead of the picture itself
I then thought going to Nvidia CP and telling it to force fullscreen/aspect ratio under desktop size and position would fix it. It fixed the full scren problem but now 3D image doesn't converge when I put on my glasses. It still looks like how 3D looks without glasses. This is for all my games that are not running in 4K.
I thought the EDID override is supposed to let you play at whatever resolution you wish to run on, the issue being that the game won't be as detailed as 4K.

For individual games: GTA V is a problem. i can't get it to launch without it tell me out of memory in the beginning. The fix I found for it was hitting Alt T right before the sirens in the beginning but then I laucnh in windowed and 3D works but the GPU usage is only at 60% so my frames are 20-23 fps and then eventuallt it crashes tell me:
ERR_GFX_D3D_INIT: failed initialization. please reboot and restart game.
I don't have any fixes installed for GTA V
For Arkham Knight I crash but its usual a thread exception error. I suspect its becaues I only have 8GB of RAM. I will be getting 12 GB if all works out by middle of next week
But like I said across all games that run below 4K, the images don't merge when i put on my 3D glasses

Out of the box for the games that work, I notice ghosting/crosstalk for objects futher away from the camera. Is this something to be tweaked under Stereo 3D settings in the Nvidia CP? If so, which settings are most responsible for getting better 3D effects and lessening the crosstalk.
I can defintely see why a lot of people don't bother with 3D. Lots of hassle but I want to get it right. I enjoy 3D. The little I've seen, my games are way more immersive than flat 2D

You will have to get a better Pc/video card. No point to getting a 4k Oled 3D tv to play in a smaller resolution. as far as a I know the the3D retarder is fixed on the panel. You can't full screen a smaller resolution and get 3D since every pixel has to be perfectly aligned with the filter for it work. If you lower the solution the it will shrink the screen for it work.
You could also use sbs mode with 3D fix manager on Dx11 games and use the 3D option of your monitor. But, then again you wouldn't be using the full potential of your TV,a nd not every game supports it. I have an LG 4k Oled 3D TV and it is hands down the best 3D vision experience there is available right now. It blows everything else away. I can't speak for projectors, though.
Do yourself a favor and get better system to take advantage of your nice TV.

Just out of curiosity: The LG OLED supports SbS / framepackaging via 3DTV Play and native 4K passive 3D?
Unfortunately I never saw how that TV performs in 3D - can only speak for projectors and 3d vision monitors. But I would guess that contrasts and colors are much better on a OLED TV than on a projector. It seems to support HDR in 3D, too? However screen size is smaller which brings less immersion + a bit ghosting.
@Muong: you can try the upscale feature for DX11 games for improving performance. You find this option in "Hotkeys" tab of 3DFM. Just tick "Enable upscaling" and click on "save". Keep in mind that this feature does not work for all games - it's more like an experimental feature. E.g. for most games the mouse does not work correctly any more with this - so just use the xbox controller instead. I tried only a few games - e.g. Witcher 3 works with upscale shader enabled.

Aren't there plenty of people that play below 4K and upscale it? I haven't looked into it yet
And while you might be right, why is it that I didn't have any issues before the EDID override with the 720p default that 3D vision restricts you to? My TV gave me full screen 3D at that resolution out of the box

as for the upscaling thing, is that all that needs to be done to get upscale? or are there more tweaks?

Ah yes. My mind has been proccupied with getting it to work without crashing.
What about the ghosting/"seing double" of objects especially those further away? How do you tweak that?
And any way to make the screen more vibrant in 3D. The glasses do tend to dim the image a little

the two games crashing a lot are GTA V and Arkham Knight. they crash wether I have an overclock or not
I did fix the flickering by renaming my output to PC.
if I want HDR to work properly however i need to change icon to hdmi. Game console gives me that flickering as well which sucks. Looks like HDR+3D is not in the books for me

I did fix the flickering by renaming my output to PC.
if I want HDR to work properly however i need to change icon to hdmi. Game console gives me that flickering as well which sucks. Looks like HDR+3D is not in the books for me
Resolution scalling is nothing too complicated, is just a slider bar or a value that you set ingame.
I'm not familiar with GTA V but I google sais the option is called Frame scaling. You need to set it to 0.6-0.7. It should be OK with GTX 1080ti.

OH so its where the game is running 4K but really its sub 4K but the system sees it as 4K. I guess this negates the need for upscaling then from 3Dfm?
Also should you change convergence settings in Nvidia CP or 3Dfm, any difference in using either or setting it on both?

by 3Dfm you mean 3Dmigoto? If yes, I couldn't obtain good results with that implementation.

Independent where you change the convergence at the end it is the same value. best is to set it up while you are playing, using shortcut keys ctrl+F5 ctrl+F6

That flicker is what I get in my games. Look at the Nvidia logo at 0:07, that is how moving objects in 3D look on ym OLED. I do have the EDID overrriten properly. Had the same issue before I did the EDID properly.
That is the Nvidia test pattern isn't it? It is set to run at 2160p on my computer. I tried to lower the test pattern resolution to 1080p in case there was some bandwidth issue. Same result.
Changing my input connection to PC fixed the flickering issue. Now I have new issues:
So for some of the games, 4K is too much for the GPU and for my system for Arkham Knight. Across the board, wheneneber I bump my resolution down, I get 3D but its not full screen. for whatever reason in full screen mode, the picture is surrounded by black borders that stretch to the ends of my screen instead of the picture itself
I then thought going to Nvidia CP and telling it to force fullscreen/aspect ratio under desktop size and position would fix it. It fixed the full scren problem but now 3D image doesn't converge when I put on my glasses. It still looks like how 3D looks without glasses. This is for all my games that are not running in 4K.
I thought the EDID override is supposed to let you play at whatever resolution you wish to run on, the issue being that the game won't be as detailed as 4K.

For individual games: GTA V is a problem. i can't get it to launch without it tell me out of memory in the beginning. The fix I found for it was hitting Alt T right before the sirens in the beginning but then I laucnh in windowed and 3D works but the GPU usage is only at 60% so my frames are 20-23 fps and then eventuallt it crashes tell me:
ERR_GFX_D3D_INIT: failed initialization. please reboot and restart game.
I don't have any fixes installed for GTA V
For Arkham Knight I crash but its usual a thread exception error. I suspect its becaues I only have 8GB of RAM. I will be getting 12 GB if all works out by middle of next week
But like I said across all games that run below 4K, the images don't merge when i put on my 3D glasses

Out of the box for the games that work, I notice ghosting/crosstalk for objects futher away from the camera. Is this something to be tweaked under Stereo 3D settings in the Nvidia CP? If so, which settings are most responsible for getting better 3D effects and lessening the crosstalk.
I can defintely see why a lot of people don't bother with 3D. Lots of hassle but I want to get it right. I enjoy 3D. The little I've seen, my games are way more immersive than flat 2D

You could also use sbs mode with 3D fix manager on Dx11 games and use the 3D option of your monitor. But, then again you wouldn't be using the full potential of your TV,a nd not every game supports it. I have an LG 4k Oled 3D TV and it is hands down the best 3D vision experience there is available right now. It blows everything else away. I can't speak for projectors, though.
Do yourself a favor and get better system to take advantage of your nice TV.
Just out of curiosity: The LG OLED supports SbS / framepackaging via 3DTV Play and native 4K passive 3D?
Unfortunately I never saw how that TV performs in 3D - can only speak for projectors and 3d vision monitors. But I would guess that contrasts and colors are much better on a OLED TV than on a projector. It seems to support HDR in 3D, too? However screen size is smaller which brings less immersion + a bit ghosting.
@Muong: you can try the upscale feature for DX11 games for improving performance. You find this option in "Hotkeys" tab of 3DFM. Just tick "Enable upscaling" and click on "save". Keep in mind that this feature does not work for all games - it's more like an experimental feature. E.g. for most games the mouse does not work correctly any more with this - so just use the xbox controller instead. I tried only a few games - e.g. Witcher 3 works with upscale shader enabled.

Aren't there plenty of people that play below 4K and upscale it? I haven't looked into it yet
And while you might be right, why is it that I didn't have any issues before the EDID override with the 720p default that 3D vision restricts you to? My TV gave me full screen 3D at that resolution out of the box
For games that can run well in 4K like the old dx9s, how can you make the 3D effect more pronounced. Is that something you set in 3D vision settings and if so which ones, or is that something you set in 3dfm?
as for the upscaling thing, is that all that needs to be done to get upscale? or are there more tweaks?
Ah yes. My mind has been proccupied with getting it to work without crashing.
What about the ghosting/"seing double" of objects especially those further away? How do you tweak that?
And any way to make the screen more vibrant in 3D. The glasses do tend to dim the image a little

If you see double in the distance might be you are not used to high separation, tone it down. Or maybe you are not dead center in the middle of the screen.
Nodadays almost all games have resolution scalling, you can lower it until you get a stable FPS, while still using the 4K resolution.
What kind of hardware are you using? Whith all the craches I'm thinking you hae a really unstable OC or defective hardware.

I just tested Arkham Asylum and WOW evne though i have slight double image, WOW JUST WOW. its like the action is happening in my room. Are most games coded like this when 3D is working properly?
