I have a PN58C7000 that i just received today with the SSG-2100AB/ZD glasses. The TV came running the 1032 firmware.
The results I get for this test depend entirely on what vertical rotation the glasses are in. Only the horizontal line across the center is capable of decently obscuring the opposite eye image. It's very easy to verify by simply tilting your head up and down to look at the various numbers with either eye closed.
In my opinion, these glasses are completely defective, or the sync signal is so aggressively timed that the glasses have insufficient time to darken the lens properly.
Can anyone please verify? Would it be worth trying the 1016 firmware as some others have reported?

You guys complain about ghosting/crosstalk when playing games in 3D using those Samsung Plasma TV's, or also watching 3D movies????

Games on the other hand it depends on the devs, but games that are 3D Ready do look awesome in my 3D TV, like Just Cause 2, Resident Evil and Batman AA. The problem is that other games that are not 3D Ready do look worse in the 3D Ready TV's compared to the 22", 23" 120hz displays. If the 3D is not very well optimized for some game it will have more issues in the big screen and that makes sense.

No, not at all. I made a special point of saying "in addition", not "instead of". In a perfect world, SBS looks identical to checkerboard, so why not have just one mode? In the real world, there may be sone games that do show a difference. For example, with iZ3D drivers the game graphics are identical, but there is a bug whereby the windows 7 spinning circle is overlayed in exactly the middle of the screen in SBS, but not in CB.
Nvidia checkerboard works in every game I tested, every game I care about so I sure don't want it eliminated. If SBS is added, it could take time to get all the bugs worked out so I want to have CB.

Checkerboard is good for us because it's already been implemented by nVidia. It's just some extra logic to switch it on and off. SBS is a whole other can of worms that would have to be developed and tested. In addition, SBS contains the same number of pixels but checkerboard may be a visually superior, if slightly less simple, sampling pattern.
I resolved a large portion of my crosstalk issues by purchasing the xpand 103 glasses. There's something severely wrong with both the 2100AB glasses in my kit. The TV is now at least usable, but still not so great at crosstalk cancellation.

We do get crosstalk when there's too much pop out or high contrast scenes with black background, but that's reasonable I guess. If you had a LED 3D ready TV than you would have more reasons to be pissed off about crosstalk.

I experimented with various modes to see if there is any correlation to ghosting. With my samsung 63c7000 I get considerable ghosting in the opening bar scene in CoD black ops, but only with framepacking, both 24 and 60 Hz. With checkerboard and SBS and page flip, I get almost none. To see this, look at any light, I used the light just above the door in the bar. Can someone colloborate my experiment?

I've tested with test patterns and games. I'm only marginally interested in 3D movies at the moment. I'm sure 3d movies work better as they are mastered to work around the crosstalk problems inherent in stereoscopic 3D technologies today.
I definitely still see ghosting with checkerboard 3D on batman. Mostly red ghosting at lower levels ... it seems the red phosphor doesn't decay quickly enough?

I play only first person shooter games so I don't have batman to compare. If you have CoD black ops, could you compare CB to frame packing? I get about ten times more ghosting on FP than CB. Try the opening scene in the bar, look at the light above the door.

Those Xpand glasses seems very interesting, but I read some user's reviews in Amazon and they say it's confortable and even passes more light compared to Samsung glasses, but they reported that there was no improve about eliminating crosstalk, that it would be the same as the Samsung glasses. What a bummer!!!!

I have a PN58C7000 that i just received today with the SSG-2100AB/ZD glasses. The TV came running the 1032 firmware.
The results I get for this test depend entirely on what vertical rotation the glasses are in. Only the horizontal line across the center is capable of decently obscuring the opposite eye image. It's very easy to verify by simply tilting your head up and down to look at the various numbers with either eye closed.
In my opinion, these glasses are completely defective, or the sync signal is so aggressively timed that the glasses have insufficient time to darken the lens properly.
Can anyone please verify? Would it be worth trying the 1016 firmware as some others have reported?

3D TV quality is not a factor of our NVIDIA driver. We output a frame packed HDMI 1.4 signal and its up to the TV to adjust the 3D quality.
Most reviewers have said that the Panasonic 3D Plasmas deliver the best 3D quality.
I believe the reason why Blu-ray 3Ds may look better because the studio authoring the blu-ray disc specifically tried to adjust color qualities and scenes for a 3D TV to make their content look good. We currently do not have game developers doing that for 3D games (yet).

No, not at all. I made a special point of saying "in addition", not "instead of". In a perfect world, SBS looks identical to checkerboard, so why not have just one mode? In the real world, there may be sone games that do show a difference. For example, with iZ3D drivers the game graphics are identical, but there is a bug whereby the windows 7 spinning circle is overlayed in exactly the middle of the screen in SBS, but not in CB.

Checkerboard is good for us because it's already been implemented by nVidia. It's just some extra logic to switch it on and off. SBS is a whole other can of worms that would have to be developed and tested. In addition, SBS contains the same number of pixels but checkerboard may be a visually superior, if slightly less simple, sampling pattern.
I resolved a large portion of my crosstalk issues by purchasing the xpand 103 glasses. There's something severely wrong with both the 2100AB glasses in my kit. The TV is now at least usable, but still not so great at crosstalk cancellation.

I've tested with test patterns and games. I'm only marginally interested in 3D movies at the moment. I'm sure 3d movies work better as they are mastered to work around the crosstalk problems inherent in stereoscopic 3D technologies today.

BTW, do you see ghosting using 3DTV Play while playing Just cause 2 or Batman AA??? I do hate the 24hz limitation, but those games look amazing in my Samsung 3D Plasma, crosstalk free. It looks way better than my Alienware 120hz display, but I agree that most games that are not 3D Ready do look worse compared to the 120hz display.
I wish I could try those Xpand glasses you got to see how they can improve image quality, cause the SSG-2200 are crap, they suffer a lot from flickering issues.I rarely use the SSG-2100 cause they hurt my head, not comfortable at all.
I've tested with test patterns and games. I'm only marginally interested in 3D movies at the moment. I'm sure 3d movies work better as they are mastered to work around the crosstalk problems inherent in stereoscopic 3D technologies today.
I definitely still see ghosting with checkerboard 3D on batman. Mostly red ghosting at lower levels ... it seems the red phosphor doesn't decay quickly enough?

I play only first person shooter games so I don't have batman to compare. If you have CoD black ops, could you compare CB to frame packing? I get about ten times more ghosting on FP than CB. Try the opening scene in the bar, look at the light above the door.

I would like to try Roller .inf but I won't be able to get rid of the red message, so I'll wait until Nvidia gives us checkerboard.
I was interested about trying out the Page Flipping mode that gives 30hz for 1920x1080 and it's full resolution per eye and you guys said there's no red message for this mode using Roller .inf file. But I read a post where some user said he wasn't able to make 3DTV Play work again, that he got stuck with Roller .inf and his TV wasn't recognize anymore as HDMI 1.4. I was a bit afraid of that also happen to me, I don't want to loose my 3DTV Play feature.
Roller, BTW, I'm using a Onkyo receiver HDMI 1.4 and my Samsung 3D Ready TV is connected to this receiver which is connected to my GTX 480 HDMI input. Will your inf. file also work for my needs, or not??? The Nvidia control panel doesn't see my Samsung TV, it sees my HT380 receiver instead.
