Could something be added to disable the Steam overlay DLL on an individual game basis and then re-enable it upon exiting?
Since Steam re-installs the DLL every time it's launched, it's a small pain in the arse in the games where it must be disabled to prevent crashes. Unless the issue has been fixed and is now null. It's been awhile since I've been required to do it, but I haven't played anything new in awhile. So maybe bo3b fixed it in 3Dmigoto?? or is it still required for recent games??

When starting the program, it automatically creates a start menu entry. 1stly, the name of the entry is wpfapplication. You may want to change that. 2ndly, it'll be nice if you give us an option to do that.
On another note, I portabilize all of my games so that I won't have a registry mess. So I coded all my game exe's to read from their registry data from there own folders. With that said, can you make scan button on your program to retry exe names so that your program can do a recursive scan an find said exes in whatever folders you choose so that they can be highlighted in your program? I know there's an individual button to do that but I'd like to save time.
Sorry, that's new to me. The application has no installer so there shouldn't be any start menu entry created. So I don't know what happened in your case. On my machine there is no start menu entry. Which OS do you use?
Search Paths for finding games will be implemented in one of the next updates :)
Oh! And I thought of a way for detection of non-3Dvision 3D! Create a listbox that has a text block. Whatever process the user puts in the textblock, that would make the fixes only activate when that process is active. So say I put in Tridef.exe or TriniusVR.exe, then the program would activate the fixes. But when those processes are no longer running, the 3Dfixes turn off. Like a whitelist if you will.

This is a nice idea and I think it should be possible to implement e.g. with a listener for detecting when one of the processes are startet or running and 3D Fix manager would popup a message "do you want to enable fixes?" or something like that.

I think it would be too difficult to implement this on an individual game basis because the application would have to detect whether you start a game. And after you started it it's probably already too late for disabling the overlay / steam dll (?). Best way would have been if there was a button in 3D Fix Manager for starting games. However I didn't find a central place in the windows registry with information about where the exe-files of each installed program / game is located for calling them (only found the root paths of the applications). I know there are registry keys which tell where the exe is but they are all scattered over the windows registry unfortunately.
However I could make a simple button for disabling the dll by hand or an option where the user can define if the dll shall be disabled everytime 3D Fix Manager is started and automatically re-enabled when the application closes.

If you wanted to make a general launcher for Steam games, this would be fairly easy, because there is a Steam protocol that will allow you launch a game by SteamID. If you make a desktop shortcut using Steam, you can see the mechanism. Only works for Steam, but might be worth considering, as a way to easily support launching.
For what it's worth, I haven't run across the crash with Steam overlay enabled recently, and have not been deleting the DLLs. So, it's possible that they fixed it. I reported the bug, so maybe.

@ Pauldusler: no need for popups. If tridef is open, there's only one reason why. So it should automatically do it once it sees the program you put in. Less things to confirm :)

Do you get it to work properly when you delete the "VK_" prefix?
Maybe "VK_" is not allowed for xbox hotkeys in general? (Sorry, I completely forgot to test this with xbox controller since I use it only very rarely). For keyboard / mouse the prefix works at least.

Ah this idea is great, thank you. I didn't think of that possibility yet :). So at least for Steam games this would work. Will try to implement this.
Another question concerning 3dmigoto: Will you implement a feature for directly saving convergence / 3D separation while gaming? For helixmods you could set this to your liking and press F7 to save current values in the ini file. Maybe I missed this feature and it is already implemented in 3dmigoto? Could only find a workaround by editing the ini file by hand and reload the file in game. Having such a feature would be very comfortable :)

Hitman is my Steam library, too so I will take a look into it (Did not test the fix for hitman yet but looks very promising). I think the problem is that the windows registry still tells that the game is installed in a folder with the little "TM" although you already changed it and 3D Fix Manager still tries to install the fix in the TM-Folder. You can bypass this by defining a custom install path (click on edit in the left corner). Maybe I could define an extra rule that 3D Fix Manager installs the hitman fix in a folder without TM if it finds one. Will look into it tonight :)
