Deus Ex Human Revolution

Someone still thinks AMD paid for this? Really? Seriously, perhaps publisher paid for the weak excuse. IMO , this again, just goes to show how "over-the-top" and manipulative these publishers are , definitely was a Square Enix job, not EIDOS, publishers have devs on a real short leash FYI. Next up : EA whatever.

Something is really brewing recently... You can tell.

Big old trusty Samsung's flagship 3D monitor no longer supporting 3D Vision, but supporting DDD. Hmmm.....

Now Deus Ex Human Revolution, only supporting DDD.... Hmmmm...

A coup is rising I think.

And good job IMO. Can't wait for a better solution to the endless crap 3D Vision customers endure. I think it is probable that DDD or AMD payed Eidos money to support their tech. Why else would Eidos care?

What do you mean "get real" ?

As in you don't think Samsungs new 3d monitor range is flagship? Or you disagree about Samsung having perhaps walked away from their 'partnership'?

what partnership? They made ONE freaking monitor with the 3D vision logo on it, and it was the worst one out of them all anyway.

Also, I'm pretty sure you'll be playing in 720p on your "flagship" monitor as it only supports HDMI 1.4 /wallbash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wallbash:' />

Nvidia isn't the best for customer service, but the AMD 3D solution is pretty lame. Does AMD even support Dual Link DVI in their HD3D platform?

Played DX:HR with AMD3D at Gamescom... the passive shutter glasses sucking - you see no difference between 2d and 3d.
Hope they support the real 3d with 3d vision soon! nvidia do something...

Samsung's 3D Vision monitor was the first 3D Vision compatible monitor, when it was released it was state-of-the-art. (even if it used the crappy Chi-Mei TN panels)
In most parts of the world, it was the only compatible 3D Vision monitor you could buy for almost an entire year. (the Viewsonic monitor wasn't sold worldwide)
At launch, Nvidia 3D Vision also supported Samsung's Rear-projection DLP 3DTVs (checkerboard + 3D synch plug), Samsung's legacy 3D ready plasmas (checkerboard + 3D synch plug)

Then Samsung felt it could dominate the market and decided not to share with Nvidia. They became Worldwide #1 3DTV seller thanks to a very aggressive pricing policy and relatively good quality/price. (yep, I'm talking about those ghosting LED/LCD TVs we all know about)
Now back to computer monitors they decided they no longer needed the forced cooperation and fees asked by Nvidia and decided to go solo on the Hardware and partner with other companies for software.

Samsung's "flagship" monitor supports full 1920x1080 120Hz frame sequential input through both Dual-Link DVI and Display Port, you just need to figure out how to turn it on on your computer and push the button on the monitor.
I have not read reports about people using Display Port 1.2 (all I read use DVI-DL) so I do not know if the monitor can auto-detect when to activate the 3D mode if using display Port 1.2 (which AMD claims to support)

YES ! AMD supports dual-Link DVI in their HD3D platforms, there are at least three 3D monitors in their official supported list that use it (iZ3D can also force it on monitors that are not in the list, the monitor must have a working embedded emitter in order to work in 3D though)

Two 3D Surround screenshots, first shows a nice 3D effect, the second is pure pop-out effect (click on the 2D preview to download the respective .jps file, you may have to add .jps to the end of the file name so you can use a 3D Viewer to open it).

I can't get it to run in DX9 mode after enabling the registry hack to 4. It crashes when it loads into a level (can get to menus OK) and either just crashes to desktop or gives me some error about 'running out of resources' which is crap (460GTX 1GBs x2SLI). Putting into DX11 I can get into the game but the lighting issue is just unplayable. Help please?!?!

edit: seems it was the AA setting causing the problem for me, setting to Edge AA works ok but the fullscreen AA options seem to cause the problem.

If you want to provide your voice and encourage the developer to support 3D Vision, please visit the Eidos Forums and politely voice your support.

So Andrew, doesn't seems like this way, at least that's what Eidos thinks:
If you want the 3DVision to work with no developer support you should probably talk to Nvidia? Not the developer?
Straight from the horses mouth. Developers are asking for advise, incentives, or support. Or all three. ATI or DDD probably stepped forward and gave Eidos what it needed. Nvidia probably don't want to feed such a trend, they want to be the sugar daddy... They know that if developers have to add support themselves, they would automatically choose the most popular 3d solution...Good old 3D Vison.

So where is the new Eidos 3D thread, for those 3D/Deus Ex fans reading this thread and wanting to add their +1 ? :)

I am not buying this game until it is tested and confirmed 3D ready.

Passive glasses DO suck. Why didn't you use the active shutter glasses that AMD has?

Before I pre-purchased the game four weeks ago I checked if it would support 3D. And everywhere it said - yes, Eidos confirms 3D support. No indication that this would be limited to AMD HD3D. Well, I'll never pre-purchase a game again, that's for sure. If they had at least made sure that it bascially works for the most common 3D systems and put some special effort in AMD HD3D I wouldn't have said anything. But this way I feel cheated. That's would have been the same as if someone had advertised his game for truecolor graphic cards when this was the new standard and then you start the game and it runs only in 16 color EGA. Oops - didn't we mention it? Truecolor is for a specifc manufacturer only.

And actually I don't care if other game designes only supported NVIDIA in the past and neglected other systems. Two wrongs don't make a right.

3D or no 3D the games still broken, 100fps and my mouse lags like it's running at 5fps... started the game played for 3 seconds alt+tabbed to see what the hell was going on with my mouse. Seems it's a PC wide problem with no way to fix... so need to wait for a patch... and to think I ran off to get this game... might as well have bloomin waited.

You must've had some more issues if you spent that much time tweaking...only takes a few minutes not including graphical commands for games which doesn't take much time either imho.
