3D Fix Manager - Application for installing 3D Vision Fixes + Hotkey Editing Support
  25 / 60
I just reuploaded 3D Fix Manager both on my website and on HelixBlog. Is it fixed for you now? That was a strange bug. Seems like MonitorSize registry key could not be found on your machine or was set to 0. Then a divide by 0 exception should be thrown but wasn't for unknown reasons. Result of the function was NaN and this value cannot be assigned to a GUI-element -> crash.

Can you implement a feature, like what is shown in this video at 6:45? He allows shortcuts to be added to his app. Something like Afterburner or PrecisionX could be placed there, among other things. In addition to this, would it also be possible to have it only show a shortcut, that is associated with the current .exe being launched. Say if you have a folder for that particular game that contains a walkthrough or JPGs of maps, etc...? Then when you launch a different game, that shortcut is then replaced by the current exe being launched. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=2oOrRNhiF5Q

Yes, currently when I install a community fix, I also screenshot the instructions and place it in the game folder, so that I can reference it, if need be. I also put any game specific notes in the game folder as well, such as "will not launch if afterburner is running", "disable 5.1 and switch to stereo, for better sound", "associate exe with XYZ Profile", "dx10 stereo texture flag needs to be present", "link to current WIP", "best CM Profile to use", "added Steam Launch commands, remove if needed", "edited config files, revert to original, if needed", "uses UE3", "waiting for mod in progress, check link @httP:XYZ". Currently, I always go to Steam first, select the game, select properties, browse local files, then launch the game after checking any notes that I've made. That's why I wish that Steam had an option for notes.

Ah ok now I understand why you wanted to have notes for steam. I could add a notes feature at least for 3D Fix Manager. Would this be helpful to you? Concerning CM profiles: do you have a list where you already tried which flag works best for a specific game? I would add this to 3D Fix Manager then. Currently 3D Fix Manager always chooses a default flag when enabling "Force CM" which might not work and the user has to try another flag. In general a feature for disabling MSI Afterburner is a good idea, too. I remember that some games sometimes produce a bluescreen if MSI Afterburner is running.

Any type of feature that you could implement in this regards would be welcome. I haven't played very many new games. The games that I played using CM, have fixes now. So I don't have a list in that regards. The only game that I've recently messed around with using compatibility mode, is Arkham Knight. It will not launch at all with Afterburner running, but I can alt tab out and enable it after launch. For me, Black Flag works better, but that's not definitive. I've only tried a few alternative profiles with it. Blacksmith56 uses an Open Spread Document to track his notes and suggested that I do the same. But I like to put notes and associated links (like to PCGamingWiki, HelixBlog,Steam Discussions, Forum Thread), in the game file. That way I can easily find it, Steam will not delete these if the game is uninstalled, so they are right there upon re-installation.

Hi greatxerox, I think this is related to how you replaced files. I assume you also copied the whole "Fixes" folder? This can lead to errors because folder names in your old 3D Fix Manager version are not necessarily the same as in the newly downloaded version. I would recommend to delete the whole Fixes folder and copy it from a fresh download (easiest solution) or clean up some profiles by hand. For F1 2017 you should delete everything but the info.ini from the profile folder.

Dear community, I ran into a somewhat crude problem when trying to use the 3D Fix Manager: Although I was generally planning to use this really nice tool for 3D-Gaming, right now I intend to use it to force Nvidia Stereoscopic 3D, since the related option does not show up in the Nvidia settings panel. Sadly, the program keeps stating "No Nvidia driver detected / installed" and "Nvidia Stereoscopic 3D not detected" (screenshots 1 & 2). My setup is an HP Omen 17-an0 running Windows 10 x64 Fall Creators Update which is connected to an eMachines V700 projector via a new HDMI 2.0 cable. I performed an Windows-EDID-update and the projector is successfully recognised as an 3D-capable Acer H5360 (screenshots 3 & 4). The Nvidia-driver's version is 390.77 (screenshot 5), the projector runs at 120 hz in 3D-mode, secure boot is disabled, csm is enabled. Last but not least, the Nvidia Stereoscopic 3D controller is installed (screenshot 6). Do you guys have any idea about how to force the 3D-mode or any advice about my setup? I hope I am at the right place with my questions. Maybe 3D Vision driver is not (correctly) installed? 3D Fix Manager says"Nvidia Stereoscopic 3D not detected" when the following registry key was not found: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D You could try this:
[.]Run C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\3D Vision\NVStWiz.exe (should start 3D Vision setup wizard)[/.] [.]Run C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\3D Vision\nvstlink.exe /enable (this should enable Nvidia Stereoscopic 3D)[/.]
Generally I would uninstall the driver / make a clean reinstall. In Windows Control Panel this should be listed:
[.]"Nvidia 3D Vision driver 390.xy"[/.] [.]"Nvidia 3D Vision Controller driver 390.xy"[/.]
3D Fix Manager says"Nvidia Stereoscopic 3D not detected" when the following registry key was not found:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D

You could try this:

 • Run C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\3D Vision\NVStWiz.exe (should start 3D Vision setup wizard)
 • Run C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\3D Vision\nvstlink.exe /enable (this should enable Nvidia Stereoscopic 3D)

Generally I would uninstall the driver / make a clean reinstall.

In Windows Control Panel this should be listed:

 • "Nvidia 3D Vision driver 390.xy"
 • "Nvidia 3D Vision Controller driver 390.xy"

Short update to the upcoming 3D Fix Manager 1.31: Today I rewrote some parts of the third party ini parser I use for 3D Fix Manager. Now the parser supports to keep invalid lines (not ini conform) and duplicate keys. Also inline comments are kept. Seems like the parser works like it should now. Also the ini file of "Life is Strange: Before the Storm" can be parsed now (one of the few ini files which could not parsed at all by the stock version of the parser). Now I have to integrate the new parser in 3D Fix Manager and do some testings. This opens the door to add some more features like one click activation of software mouse support and upscaler.
