Texas Instruments checkerboard DLP 3D
Are there any plans for the new checkerboard style to be added to the nvidia drivers? I own one of these new sets, and am very much craving some stereo action on the big screen!

nVidia seemed to have support for their own cards. There are no 8800 drivers and the last real updated which added the remotest functionality was many years ago.

I doubt they will do anything else unless some executive were to wake up and take notice... I personally wouldn't hold my breath.

Have you seen ANYTHING in 3-D on the TV? How does it look? I wanted to buy one myself but haven't yet.

I do not currently have the correct glasses for the TV, and was trying to figure out if I would be getting them by the driver/software availability. DDD has a software suite called TriDef, that is designed for these new DLP wobulation based sets, and everything I've read has mentioned that they are superb quality 3D. Very high refresh (120Hz) and the already great picture quality, combined with the checkerboard interleaving pattern result in very little ghosting. The problem is that DDD's software is currently mostly for 3D movies, of which there are just a few available (some rehashes of IMAX3D films) and a very small bunch of games that you have to pay a liscense for each game to DDD to make work in 3D. I am hoping that NVidia will see the great market these TV's provide, and add the small amount of code to the drivers to use this new, superior, method of interleaving.

TI's document demostrates how the two images are interleaved to send to the TV:

Hello, I am testing one of the Samsung "3D Ready" HDTVs using Peter Wimmer's
Stereoplayer Version 1.2.1 and will likely publish test results later.

For stereo video the system is very impressive. 3D DVD's which only produced low
resolution, spotty 3D on a DLP projector looked much better on the Samsung. The
checkerboard interlacing greatly improved the quality of the video. Test files from
Dzignlight Studios also produced stunning 3D video on the system. (www.dzignlight.com)
It is amazing to watch high definition 3D video on such a big screen! It is fabulous!

It is unfortunate that there are only 8, outdated, openGL games available for the system.
If popular games were available for the system it would be a huge seller IMHO.

It's funny, because I actually think this would be a simpler method to implement than the page flipping methods, because timing is unneccessary. Just a filter to combine the buffer's into one.
