I bet there have been some discussions over the years but i think that it's about time we start getting some drivers for geforce that support 3d vision under linux. I don't wanna play any games in 3d mode, but at least something that could let us watch the movies. There are allready some libraries (actually only 1) that try and succeed to deliver 3d vision support for geforce based gpu's under linux, after what..4-5 years cmmon Nvidia, just enable the transmitter on the geforce video cards and let the video players do the rest. I recently bought a 570 about 6-7 months ago, was hoping that with 3.0 release of the drivers something may happen but still nothing. Admit it or not there are A LOT if linux users out there and a lot of them are your customers. When did the customer suport die ? The least you could do is give us an ETA on those drivers...1 month ? 2 ? 1 year ? something. Or simply state that this is something u will NEVER support so we can look into different options. I do hope that this post dosn't get deleted and i get some support here. Thanks.

Any chance with the new "design" some will start to answer my question ? When will Nvidia 3d Vision work for movie players under Linux. Actually players who can use it allready are under Linux, such as Bino, ofcourse only with the extremely expencive quadro cards. How about the usual GeForce users...i did pay a huge amount of money for the 570 back in the day not to mention tbe 3d Display with 120 MHz and the 3d Glasses.

I know that this may be gravedigging, but I am also very keen on getting 3D vision support for us GeForce users. With Steam for Linux kicking off very successfully, there is even more reason for making it work.
I recently ordered a 680, and it would be a pity not use it and my 120hz monitor along with the 3D vision stuff I paid €200 for to their full potential.
I understand that we are a minority, but this certainly does not help improve the situation.

Wait!! What is this library that you are talking about that enables 3D Vision Support under linux? Can you share? I also have been looking for some time to find something like this...

Hmm yeah...damn:P Stupid stupid thing! I was able to make my 3D Vision work with my GTX590 under linux but only in an app that I wrote... besides that..there is no official standard driver or support!
Thanks for the help guys!

Another thing to know! not necessarily Linux related, more like Windows + OpenGL.
Apparently nVidia enabled support or QUAD BUFFER STEREO 3D in openGL some time ago ( a couple of months)
Today I did test it and indeed it is working:
- SLI supported
- FULLScreen support ONLY
- no 3D SUrround support only 1 monitor so far.

Maybe it helps people, as for me now I can play both in Linux and Windows in Opengl stereo 3D ..muhahaha:)))

Does that mean OpenGL games work now or no? Because I tried Tiny and Big: Grandpa's Leftovers a couple weeks ago but it didn't trigger 3D, then I tried both the GL wrappers and they both crashed.
Hi
OpenGL stereo + 3D Vision is supported on these Quadro boards: http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro_pro_graphics_boards.html
On OpenGL the applications need to be written to take advantage of stereo (something called Quad Buffered OpenGL). Games don’t normally do this.
I took this to mean that the game must have native stereo support built in. There was a post from ManuelG stating something to this effect as well. I'll hunt for it.
