HDMI1.4 checkerboard for all! 3D Vision software fix here!
2 / 20
Right, i'm not sure what the hell is happening here, i chose generic crt as display mode and i'm now at 1080p/30 in 3d with no red error message at all. Is that the current aim?

Thanks for the reply roller and great work btw. I have enabled all 3d modes on the TV a while ago. I did install 1.45 but it does not let me have 3dtvplay at all and the emitter is definitley plugged in, i'll keep trying but thanks anyway.
The prob is in the CD1.45 set up. After you do a clean install of CD1.45, reboot and go to device manager. Look for a yellow flag 'no Nvidia stereo controller'. Then right click on it to 'update software'. Browse to your CD1.45 folder and then load the software. Then reboot and you should be able to go to the HDMI1.4 set up screen. Run the setup prog and after you finish, you should see the 3DTV Play logo, or at least the BluRay 1.4 text. Make sure the 'enable stereo 3D' is checked. If you get this far, install rollermod.inf. and reboot.

Thanks again, in which case i am running in 1080p 3d pageflipping mode and i get no error messages. I never had the yellow flag it installed the usb driver perfectly on the install, i think i'm being thrown off by not having the 3dtvplay or 1.4 hdmi bluray text but i can still choose enable 3d stereo. And i haven't installed the rollermod either. Is checkerboard better than page flip?

I guess I'm a little confused as to what you currectly have installed. Is it 3DTV Play, or 3D Vision? If 3D Vision, what rev? CD1.45?, 260.xx? something else?
3D pageflip is lacking performance but it looks good. If you are playing any type of shooter game, you must use checkerboard.

Today I created a .inf file that allows checkerboard and page flipping mode selection on HDTVs that support these modes regardless of HDMI type or software revision. This solves the problem of being forced into ugly scaled 720P frame packing mode on displays with HDMI1.4 inputs. I just got this working so it hasn't been tested over a wide range of displays, and software releases. My test set up is:
Samsung PN63c7000 2010 3D Ready HDMI1.4, plasma
windows 7/64 bit/home premium
gtx480
3D Vision rev CD1.45
Basically, this .inf replaces the generic pnp Monitor .inf. In effect, it does in software what the Gefen DVI Detective does in hardware.
Be aware that:
1. This is for HDMI1.4 displays only.
2. Tested under 3D Vision with Nvidia emitter attached to computer USB port
3. Tested on only one config described below, should work on all HDMI1.4 Samsungs 3D Ready Plasmas and LEDs.
Instructions:
1. Start by installing CD1.45 and make sure you see the 3DTV Play logo and 'enable stereo 3D' box is checked (nvidia control panel). I had to manually install the nvidia USB drivers via device manager, there was a yellow warning flag on 'nvidia stereo controller.' If your games have already been running in 3D, then you are all set.
2. UnRAR attached file rollermod.rar. Be sure rollermod.inf is by itself in a folder, no other .infs present.
3.To install, go to device manager > monitor > update software > browse my computer> let me pick from a list.
Uncheck 'show compatible HW' then click 'have disc'.
From "install from disc" box browse to the location of the 'rollermod.inf' file. Select it, hit 'OK' then you will be back at a box that shows 'SAMSUNG (EDID Override)'. Click on 'SAMSUNG (EDID Override)' to highlight it then 'next'. It will load and you will get "Windows successful update" dialog then hit 'close'. Reboot your computer, open nvidia control panel. You should see no 3DTV Play logo, instead a box that gives various Stereoscopic 3D dispaly type. Choose 'Generic 3D DLP HDTV' to get checkerboard.
Launch a game that is already set to 1920x1080. From the Samsung remote, navigate to 3D and choose checkerboard mode. You must have checkerboard mode previously enabled on your Samsung TV, checkerboard is grayed out by default from the factory. Turn on your glasses and you should be gaming in 1920x1080 3D checkerboard at 60 frames per eye. The only issue is that the left/right eye toggling may be reversed. To fix, use the remote menu button to go back to '3D' > picture correction. I usually had to invoke correction twice to get it to take, you will instantly see the difference.
Some LGs and Mits TVs also have HDMI1.4 and checkerboard, so this may work on them too, haven't tried.
I will appreciate any feedback.

Thanks Man, you are the best. It works great on my Samsung UE55C7700 in Page Flipping 1080p@60Hz over my Reciever Pioneer VSX-2020K without Problems. The only thing to do is to cover my Nvidia IR Emitter. Great Man, Great!!! :-)

basicaly from long time ago red overray message did not appear in pageflip mode
in the otherhand in checkerboard always been appeared
BTW roller?
in my case, this moded driver never return to original 3dtv play condition even i had changed to generic pnp monitor correctly
my pc never rollback to original condition
of course i v changed into generic pnp monitor
but s3d condition does not change into state of HDMI1.4
still remain at HDMI1.3
is there no choice but re install OS ?
if all ppl have to do as like me (i mean have to reinstall os again )this is very important matter
any 1 know how to rollback to hdmi 1.4 easily?
it seems to be needed to know how we can rollback previous condition

Try installing this attachment instead of generic PnP. Unrar, then put in seperate folder. Same method as installing rollermod.inf. Let me know.

Now I need help from you. I have two problems:
1. Pageflip doesn't work right, lose sync randomly.
2. When I launch 3D game checkerboard and change Samsung from 2D to 3D, the left/right eye are always reversed, so I must go to samsung menu and apply 'picture correction' to fix. Image stays fixed until I leave game and switch Samsung to 2D. Then must repeat when next game launch. Same problem for you? Left/right eye reversed in 3D/checkerboard? Or is your's normal, no need to use picture correction?
Comments from group wanted.
Thanks,

Thing is, without the rollermod.inf hack, checkerboard left/right order is correct with 3D Vision, reverse happens only after .inf hack. Problem is that nvidia 3D Vision set up does not allow user to choose the order, it is fixed. And Samsung fix is not permanent, it resets everytime 3D is disabled.
Anyway, your info is valuble, tells me the failure is not unique or random.
Funny that the red overlay message doesn't appear in pageflip
The red overlay message only appears for checkerboard mode (Generic DLP), since this mode was originally intended for DLP TVs with no built-in emitter but that had a 3d sync signal port. The nVidia emitter had be to synchronized with that 3D sync signal. Since missing this input signal would not allow the nVidia emitter to work properly, the overlay message was implemented.
Page flipping mode (Generic CRT) on the other hand was originally intended for CRTs, which never had any 3D sync out port. So of course, there was nothing to plug into the nVidia emitter and no overlay message "Missing sync" is implemented for this mode.
And to make it clear:
Samsung HDTVs support the mandatory HDMI 1.4 frame packing modes (used by 3DTV Play) and additional some other 3D formats (interlaced, ceckerboard and frequency(= page flipping))
- Checkerboard mode supports 1080p @ 60 Hz = 60 fps per eye (since every frame contains both views)
- Page flipping (Frequency) mode supports 1080p @ 60Hz = 30 fps per eye (since frames for left and right eye are sent alternating)
Page flipping is visually the best mode since it uses the native HDTV resolution and is full 1080p resolution per eye, but has effectively only 30Hz per eye, so is still to worse for most games (,but still better than 1080p@24Hz frame packing) and works great with the new nVidia windowed 3D
Checkerboard also uses the native HDTV resolution and is the very best compromise between visuals and performance, since it supports effectively 60Hz per eye and looks much better that the 720p@60Hz frame packing mode

Choose 'Generic 3D DLP HDTV' to get checkerboard.

in my case, this moded driver never return to original 3dtv play condition even i had changed to generic pnp monitor correctly
my pc never rollback to original condition
of course i v changed into generic pnp monitor
but s3d condition does not change into state of HDMI1.4
still remain at HDMI1.3
is there no choice but re install OS ?
if all ppl have to do as like me (i mean have to reinstall os again )this is very important matter
any 1 know how to rollback to hdmi 1.4 easily?
it seems to be needed to know how we can rollback previous condition

Try installing this attachment instead of generic PnP. Unrar, then put in seperate folder. Same method as installing rollermod.inf. Let me know.

Glad you like it.:)
Comments from group wanted.

thx 4 ur effort again :)
1.>in my case, same problem happend at first , but after i put IR emitter away long distanc from my tv ,it does'not happen any more , my IR emitter be blocked by wall of my room over the window haha
2.>yes same here ,in my thought , the basic setting of 3d left/right render order is different with nvidia 3dvision setting
Glad you like it.:)

Do you know why the .inf hack (apparently) causes the left/right eye reversal in checkerboard?
