What exactly does "Nvidia VR Support" mean ? How can use my VR Set ?
Hello there, I am an old 3D-Vison fan. With wrappers ect almost any game will work theses days with 3DV. Now i purchased a HTC VIVE and VorpX and ran into a huge pile of trouble. First, most (older) games dont work in VR, and if, only in 2D on a big virtual screen or partly in 3D. Then, VorpX is very CPU hungry. 3DV works so fast on ANY Game and i read about Nvidia saying their newer drivers support "VR" and somehwere here in the forum i also read about a 3DV to VR Conversion, but i dont find anything about how and where to get it . My question is now, what does exactly Nvidia VR Support mean and how can i actually use it. Is there a hidden converter soewhere in the Driver, how do i enable it ? I read about "Auto-Stereo" , but nothing how to use it or where to get it. A 3DV - VR Converter would be great thing. Thanks RJ

You can use side by side rendering in DX11 fixes (which use 3Dmigoto), right? If you can send the image to the Vive directly, that is. Uncomment the ";run = CustomShader3DVision2SBS" line in "d3dx.ini" and press F11 to cycle through multiple modes. I don't have any VR device so that's all I know.

Their Drivers probably do have VR support but like 3D Vision it's up to the Devs/Engines to actually utilize it... For older games you could probably use dgVoodoo2(DX8 and under to DX11) + 3DMigoto for SBS but my experience with the newer(SBS?) versions of 3DMigoto + dgVoodoo2 is they kept crashing when used together. Even so though you're only going to get 3D to the VR display... you'd probably need some sort of warping/distortion shader to adjust for the lenses and something else to to convert the motion/head tracking to the controls.

Last night i found a new "sudden" option in the Nvidia driver settings, called something like "number of prerendered images in VR Mode". In the background SteamVR and Vorpx were active.
