Is Bioshock 2 and Aliens vs. Pred 3 fixed now that they have profiles? via the new driver?

:[/quote] This was bothering me a bit as I saw some of those folks talking about that, too. Fortunately my Win7 install was pretty fresh and "uncrowded" so far and even removing my X-Fi card and running with the on-board motherboard audio did not affect 'my' problem one way or the other.

For whatever reason deleting and installing the game again never worked, but verifying the integrity of the game cache through steam found problems and corrected them and now the game works.That's absolutely mystifying and sure makes you wonder what was corrupting the cache in the first place! Maybe something for spare moments on a rainy day - lol!
