Setorius,
There's already a "solution." It's called download the latest [beta] drivers 285.38.

I have no idea what you're talking about, this game looks great. Outstanding actually. And I have high standards, I run dual GTX 590's Quad SLI, that can handle anything in existence now and for the next 4 years. Rage looks as good as any game I've seen, almost on par with Crysis 2 (DX11 and Hi-texture pack) and Battlefield 3 beta. There's no empirical evidence that this game was designed *for consoles*, in fact the opposite has been stated to be the case by id. I could careless if I have to dig through more video options or not, if a game can already tweak itself to take advantage of my hardware on the fly, more so does it save me the trouble of having to slog through it myself, and I'm very old school. Again, it depends on the way the game is coded.

What hardware are you running on?

Arioch,
I haven't seen luke warm reviews from PC *critics.* The critical reviews I've read have been 80 or so and up. Some in the 90's with an overal critic score of 85. That's quality. If 3D is your measure, then that's a principled reason to pass then I guess.

This is what metacritic says: http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/rage

That's what the critics say, and as far as the "user" reviews are concerned, on the PC, I can't take them seriously considering I don't know what setup they are running it on and their level of competency. Critics on the other hand, know better usually. Though they are hardly omni-competent, they no better to throw a review out there stating "this game has massive graphics problems and texture pop-out," when a solution, on the day of realse, exists.

I hope that helps.

No, I'm not stating anything like that. I'm talking about the image [2D] quality of Rage.

They better be working with ID. If this engine isn't supported, all future Bethseda games will not run in 3D!!! They are using ID TECH 5 for all future games.
Neither Bethesda nor id have ever said that, it was just some people on forums speculating. Skyrim does not use id Tech 5, it uses a modified gamebyro engine, basically the Oblivion engine but heavily upgraded, and Bethesda have said that same engine will be used in future games (which means Fallout 4). Bethesda just put a ton of work into that engine, there really is no need for them to switch engines. Plus it would mean everyone at Bethesda learning a new engine, and the engine would probably need adapting. ZeniMax buying id really has no effect on Bethesda.

Work on Skyrim began years ago so obviously we knew it was ID TECH 5, but other companies that are under the Bethseda banner will be using ID TECH 5 like Prey 2.

Prey 2 wont be ID TECH 5 - the game is build on idTech4 because real development of Prey2 starts before the fifth one was even finnished.

Well on the bright side I just bought Portal 2 for 15 bucks and it's amazing with 3D Vision. DLC is suppose to be out today I think.
Just did the same thing on Steam today, I can't wait to get home and try it. I heard we should disable SLI for this one.

The problem is this game is designed FOR CONSOLES. And IS NOT pc compatible, that's all. Whatever your PC is, the game will look like **** with these dirty textures pop-up.
On no.... another knobheads poor comment.

I dont think it looks "outstanding" , there are too many horrible low quality models and textures in this game.

If most PC critics vis. the hoi polloi regard Rage to be one one of the highest graphics standards on the platform, then it is highly probable that it meets that standard.

P: Most PC critics regard Rage to be one of the highest PC graphics standard.

Q: Therefore, Rage meets probable high graphics standards vis. hoi polloi users.

P --> Q

It's pretty simple folks, and I concur with their assessment. That's an ipso facto reason to regard Rage as a graphically high product.

We are investigating with the Rage developers if its possible to add support for 3D in a patch, but I want to caution everyone there there is no confirmation or no news that a patch is coming with 3D support.

Confirmed that this game DOES NOT work with 3D Vision. It is an OpenGL game, which is half the problem with it on ATI cards.

And its a pretty neat, although linear, shooter. The driving is very arcadey and feels a bit like interstate 76 with auto aim. I won't go into the details about the textures, but they are bad. I have the config that maxes out the texture resolution and up close they are horrible and blurry. Objects are best viewed at a distance of ten to twelve feet.

The lighting is also prebaked and static. Multiplatform development has hurt this game. I hope the promise of a high res texture pack is true. It needs one.
