Bulletstorm Demo Madness?
Just can't turn up anything with forum search, so had to start yet another thread to sooth my curiosity.

It does look like some are running Bulletstorm already, but I wanted to try the Demo that's been out for a bit. It just doesn't run worth a darned! Tried some of the tricks folks have said from the full version, like turning off vsync (it did slow down the stuttering a bit. But the main problem is with the 3d effects: there just aren't any to speak of. Sometimes the left lens of the glasses just stays darkened and there's a hint of 3D, but it comes and goes. When the left lens is clear, there's no 3D, that makes sense and most of the time that's the situation.

Using ctl-T to turn 3D Off then back On, I can get the game to at least try 3D (but the left lens is dark) but after a few seconds, 3D seems to turn itself off. Still a lot of stuttering though.

Tried the last three versions of drivers, clean install each time, absolutely no difference. Went back to playing Crysis 2 - plays perfectly, thank goodness!

This has gotta be just the Demo, no? Seen lots of good reviews otherwise (not from 3D play).

I found the same with the demo. Didnt buy the game but apparently the retail version is cool and works.

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

I can calm you. Bulletstorm works pretty fine with 3D-Vision. And its much more funny than Crysis2. There are some small issues with the crosshair, but you can use the Nvidia-Laser-sight if you need it.

But the demo should work in 3D too. The demo has the shadow - double image - image problems of the older UE3 - the full version of the game uses a newer UE3 and works fine.

Those dark-lens problems you speak of could be a driver-problem. I hardly remember some threads here about this issue. I heard it appears with enabled SLI on the latest drivers. If you have a SLI-Config you can try to disable SLI or use an older driver for now.

Anyone who passes on Bulletstorm because of a hosed demo is making a gigantic mistake. It was one of the coolest games in the past 2-3 years, innovative, great graphics and artwork, great 3D, and some new wrinkles that set it apart. It definitely deserves it's "excellent" 3D rating.
I played the demo. It is grossly flawed and not at all like the retail game.

Yeah dude, get the full game. The updates take care of all the 3d problems. The demo just sucks.

Thanks for all the notes guys!

I was hoping that it wasn't just my setup ...which would have meant similar stuff with the full version!

Already checking around now for a good place to buy ...really looks like it could be a bunch of fun!

Best regards to all.
