Whats your opinion on Mafia 2 in 3D vision?
  1 / 4
I just got Mafia 2 today and was very happy to see it being 3D ready. But i must say i am not at all pleased with how it looks in 3D so far. It may be beacuse its very snowy in the beginning and so mutch white, but i see ghosting everywhere. Whats your opinions?

You could argue that a game can be 3D ready and still have lots of ghosting. It might be more due to your local harware / settings. I seem to remember someone posted a custom patch to change some of the colour settings to minimise ghosting. Might help...
Its always going to be hard to minimize ghostings for overly white snow scenes.

My only gripe is convergence being locked but it's not that bad at the locked setting and certainly way better than RE5.

Yeah, this sucks. I have almost no pop out what so ever. To the TC make sure you have the latest 3d Vision drivers. I had some ghosting before I did.

I was actually quite happy with how it looked, always a pain to see convergence locked, and popout is a non starter, but the sense of depth works really well, ghosting wasn't to bad for me.

Ive posted some screenies on my website.

I can understand why sometimes they prefer to lock convergence to try and make the game appear as they intend, but the common sense solution would be to have it locked by default, but have a manual override in the options somewhere for those who want to fiddle.

With screens and projectors varying, how peoples brain/eyes interpret the image differently and plain old personal preference, their should always be an override option.

What monitor are you using? Reducing contrast/brightness on the desktop LCDs can greatly reduce/mitigate ghosting, but I also noticed much more ghosting in Mafia 2 compared to other games. Nothing overt, just subtle bits of ghosting I don't normally get in other games like objects in the middle of the screen.

Also why is the fp so low, is this normal? I have two GTX 760 in SLI and i only have about 15-20fps in 3D vision with everything on normal and vsync and AA off. ?? Thats not playable even

Is it best to enable SLI or should i disable it and have one card just do the physx?

I use syncmaster screen

Note: now its upp to 30, i dont get the fps in this game it seems to change whenever it want to. But i still got blinking screen i 3d vision now.
