Totally Stumped I'm doing something wrong, but I have no idea what.
Hello Everyone.
I've got a configuration that SHOULD work (I think) but doesn't. Nothing seems to be broken (everything turns on and does stuff) but I can't see 3D.
I've got the following:

Intel i7 quadcore with 14 gigs of RAM

Windows 7 64 bit/ DirectX 11

NVIDIA GeForce GT 330

BenQ MX660P Projector

BenQ 3D Active Shutter Glasses
I've tried viewing content using the Stereoscopic Player with some clips from the website (I tried every setting / Viewing format) and I've tried using some demos of NVIDIA games that are 3D too (didn't work either). I've tried running the projector without the monitor (turned it off in the control panel) and I'm running the projector at 120 Hz. I can see the glasses are doing something... the lenses polarize when I turn them on, and then I can often see the colours shift around a bit - like it's trying to synchronize or something. But the image never goes 3D.
Something that I can identify that seems puzzling/wrong are the settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel. When I go to the Stereoscopic 3D in the "task" tree on the left, the "Enable stereoscopic 3D" checkbox is off. If I check the box (which starts the Setup Wizard) It gives me 4 hardware configuration options and none of them seem correct. The choices are are:

USB IR Emitter with Glasses,

Wired Glasses,

Pro Hub and Glasses

Discover Glasses
The first 3 won't work (they seem to be trying to detect hardware that I don't have) and the last option presents me with a test image that doesn't work.
This is all new to me so please excuse me if I've done something silly - and PLEASE help me find the issue. I've tried for hours now, trying all the settings I could find to change and have done dozens of searches online. I'm hoping its something slap-in-the-head stupid; I won't mind at all if you laugh at me for being a bonehead if you also tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Well, first of all, you have probably noticed it already, but your projector, the MX660p, is not listed among the compatible 3D Vision projectors: http://www.nvidia.it/object/3d-vision-requirements-it.html
Maybe someone worked out how to use it with some tinkering, if you read it somewhere on the net, but it isn't a 3D Vision Ready device.

Actually; I didn't know. I'm sure I saw a list that said that these two devices were compatible. I even spoke with someone from BenQ (twice via email) and they didn't say anything.
What about DLP? Am I correct to believe that DLP and 3D Vision are two different 3D projection standards? Can I use DLP instead of 3D Vision with this hardware?

I'm sorry, but I must admit I know nothing about DLP.
You could instead check if you can use the IZ3D or Tridef drivers to use your current 3D Ready (albeit not 3D Vision Ready) projector.
The last possibility would be to sell your projector and buy a compatible one. Even though the Benq W710ST could be out of reach (it seems really good, but more expensive than yours), there are many others, and 3dvisionblog and some other sites have excellent reviews of the available 3D Vision Ready projectors and a lot of first-hand user feedback.
