Against my will I downloaded NTune to monitor and adjust my fan speeds. I got my replacement 9800GT and I don't want to go through that again. Currently (no games running) my temp on the GPU is 77C. Is that normal? Is it ok to set my fan speed on the GPU to 95% all the time? Any advice or help is appreciated. I just want to play games without thinking about a BSOD.

running it at 100% if you desire is OK but you shouldnt need to go that high.
Idle temps such as yours would be considered high. How is your case setup for airflow? Could you possibly post a pic of the inside of your case. Also waht are the ambient temps in the room where the PC is.
Can you tell me also wher you have the PC located? such as under a desk .

It is actually in the open (should I take the side of the PC off or does that mess with air flow?). When I played WOW tonight (3D vision enabled). I was idle (before game) at 64C, highest it went was 76C. I am feeling pretty good about the replacement card. Grandpa, I am pretty sure the new driver has issues, I am using CD1.13, which uses an older driver (october, 2009) and I have no more fan/heat issues. I actually like being able to monitor my temps. How do you have your GPU fan setup?
Thanks

I'd try Evga Precision if I were you. You can monitor temps while gaming with the onscreen display and you can set up to 10 profiles for various games and such. I usually just have one for the desktop (no 3D apps running) and a second one or two for games, such as 80% and 100% for more graphically intense games.
