I was wondering if anybody tried to apply this new dynamic UI element from 3Dmigoto in here. It work so good in other games, like Far Cry Primal.
I don`t know if that will mess up other elements like it happened in Fallout 4 but even in FCP it is jumpy - whole text and other elements adjust themselves dynamically and even that ain`t so annoying as that wrong depth for this UI in here.
That should be too hard:) If no one wants to try it out I can attempt to do it;)
That would be awesome Helifax. I meant to ask about it right before next DLC but I guess anytime is good.
It might be really good improvement to overall amazing looking 3D in there.
I'll try to give it a look;) Can't give an ETA yet but I hope is not that hard and will not take a lot of time;) I might need some texture filtering there though;) so it might take some time until I get to it and then some more until I make it. It is possible it will look so bad that we don't want it;)
Edit:
Either Mike or DSS already tried to set the UI to depth but it doesn't work properly it seems. I think becasue the depth buffer is not scaled properly. You can enable it from the ini file by setting z = 1 or z=2;)

If you can separate the floating text from other parts, like mini map or health bars then you can get pretty good effect - I guess. It is quite jerky in Far Cry Primal but only when subtitles are on the screen - past that it is great and work as desired.
Anyway it`s worth to give it a try - You`ll see yourself if it make any sense to even bother.
I`m more like queries about the results.

Not long after that reveal CD Project RED confirmed that they will be releasing it at this time but the official announcement will be posted later because everything is possible.
They just didn`t want to pretend like kids that They don`t know what people are talking about and in the end releasing it with "ooh look - it actually is June 7".
As far as I know this Developer like to be honest with players and also not treating them like a fools.
Btw. This expansion looks really good. I like this new environment - it`s like from Alice in Wonderland.
Also I am still hoping for that "automatic" HUD fix Helifax - any good happened with that ?

Yeah I looked at the Hud, the code is actually there in the shaders...but the depth buffer is acting very weird:(
I think more time is needed for that:( Now, I only fixed the HUD to be based on depth in one game and DarkStarSword helped me quite a lot there;)) My implementation was working...sometimes:(
So, I don't know what to say:( I think best bet currently is to wait for the expansion to HIT and see if we need to correct any shaders etc;) and then I will take another look at it and I HOPE I can ask DarkStarSword to help me out with it if I run into trouble;)

We all are always worry about this thing when game is already fixed - that Devs will change some graphic elements which will mess this all up. Looks like it is going happened to Witcher 3 as well.
New DLC which is about to be released 31 May will bring new graphic enhancement.
- (In an interview with Eurogamer, senior environment artist Len de Gracia explained that Blood and Wine uses new display methods and optimisations to look better than the core experience. "We just wanted to show that we can actually push it to the limit this time," he said.
It's partly because its setting, Toussaint is an entirely separate map. As de Gracia puts it, "it's like a fresh development. Blood and Wine we literally started from scratch.") -

This doesn't necessarily means shaders will get broken.
Maybe they add new shaders which will need fixing or change current shaders which will require refixing and so on.
I believe they will add new ones specific for that region and not swap them. This translates in having to fix a couple more shaders in the Expansion;)
We will see once is actually out;)

Hi guys,
the update 1.21.0.0 for the upcoming Blood & Wine -Addon has been released and of course it introduced some broken shaders in the main game. They occurred on Win10 with driver 365.19 and on Win7 355.82. I hope that you great guys here will fix the game when the DLC will be released, because 1. the new DLC will be fantastic and 2. it will be much better in working 3D.
Like always i'm counting on you.

Yupp,
Already re-fixed big part of it. To be expected that something like this would happen, especially with a huge update like 1.21.
I am not sure when/if I will release my update for the fix though.
People should start looking more into fixing stuff instead of just "letting us know" or asking for fixes :)
This way they will understand better what is involved in making a fix and perhaps will brag less about how this and that doesn't work on their machine or they like it to be different, or how is not 100% perfect...
Updating an already fix is most of the times very easy...
OK, enough with the babbling/rambling now...

This saddens me. I probably can't bring myself to play the game unless it works in 3d, and although I have been trying to learn it's very slow going especially the 3dmigoto stuff where I don't really know where to start with the syntax. My current work has resulted in a lot of time spent with little skill improvement. I think I reached a bit of an empasse especially where more games where dx 11 only. I've also been reminded how crap I am at puzzle solving and math.
Big shout out to the few that ruin things for the rest of us.... thanks guys.
Maybe this would be a good example to use to collectively level up the communities skill level, I personally learn a lot better if I have a good working example I am interested in. Even if its just a example of a shader before and after and what was required to fix it.
If it's just a case of shaders being replaced and the fix needing to be reapplied I guess I can start there but a hint or two where to start would be appreciated at least.
(I obviously wouldn't expect you too do this helifax, I know you are burnt out at the moment and how dense and demanding some people can be.)

Like always i'm counting on you.
