WARNING: CD 1.23 inhibits GPU fan profile Can fry your card

I installed CD 1.23 and it works fine with some of the test screenies and a game or two but then I tested the fan profile using Ntune Performance 6.05 => NO GO.
In "automatic" control mode, the fans are clamped at 40% regardless.
Temporarily I have to use "manual" mode to set the fans @80%, rendering "Ntune performance" a pretty useless tool and CD 1.23 a dangerous driver set. I'm using GPU-Z to verify fan speed vs. temp.
Anyone else can confirm this?
EDIT: In the Performance tool, the new CD 1.23 seems to have the effect of also inhibiting creating any new profile. This has got to be fixed soon.

Did you use driver sweeper?

I first installed the new CD 1.23 over an existing driver and tested the fan profile, seeing it failed I then uninstalled all (driver/system performance tool) then ran driver sweeper and reinstalled fresh both CD 1.23 and System Performance tool. Fan profile stilled failed ie. clamped @40% @ all temp, I'm stumped big time.

I agree Precision is one of the easiest ways to control your fans and also to overclock your gpu. I use it but it does cause one problem for me. If I am using 3D Vision and have Precision running the 3D Vision Glasses shutters blink and flicker. I have no clue why they do this, but I do know 100% without a doubt in my mind that the problem is related to Precision. I close Precision and the blinking/flickering is instantly fixed. Turn it back on and it is instantly back to flickering. However, I do believe that once you set a fan speed in Precision (65% is what I use and my cards never break 70c) that fan speed stays locked in even after you close the program. I don’t know if the fan speed reverts to driver controlled if you reboot and don’t run precision though as I have mine to run on startup.

Any program related to rivatuner gives me massive blinking. I do however have no problem using the nV performance tool mentioned above.
