Hmmm... Fascinating what you seem to be willing to put up with to have the 'latest and greatest.'
Your Maximus V and X-Fi Titanium both work better under Win7, the drivers are more mature and stable. From what I've read X-Fi Ti doesn't even work except in a compatibility mode.
You've waited for 6 months, 3 driver releases. Microsoft introduced bugs into DXGI that they can probably care less about because they are focused upon mobile. NVidia barely cares about 3D vision, and anyway it's Microsoft's bug. How long are you willing to wait? Your choice of course, good luck.

You're going rather off topic, I don't have any issues with the motherboard and it's utilities or the dedicated sound card whatsoever, I use modified pax master driver suite for it and it works like a charm. But on the topic.
I don't think nvidia is dropping support on 3D vision. As you can see, the rep of nvidia noticed the thread and Iam sure and very hopeful he passed the bug report onto the drivers development team to sort it out. It might be an issue on microsoft's part but I'd rather wait a couple of months more, now that I waited for almost half a year, than do a worthless downgrade, which gives me nothing but more expenses.

Uh, you do know that you don't have to boot off of the main drive for a dual boot, right? Your system spec says you have at least 2 other drives you could boot off of. Dual boot works really well, it's worth using.
For Win7, I have a 2nd game PC that I use only for occasional co-op, and it has Win7 x32 installed but not activated. It says "this windows is not authorized", but continues to run. It will run for 30 days without any notice, and gives you time to determine if it solves the problem.

For those of you running this on windows 8.0.. what sort of frame rate are you getting on avg for 1080p single screen/single cpu(in fraps)?
I've got the 4930k at 4.5 ghz, 780ti for reference..
My fps are 80-120 i think non 3d.. then i have the windows 8.1 bug issue i think with 3d, where i see 17-25 on average.. i've tried forcing vsync off in the nvidia control panel.. but have NOT yet tried switching triple buffer off and back on in game menu (and vsync to application in panel)
If this resolves things (with nearly max settings) for tomb raider, ill be happy.. going back to 8.0 not really an option.. i also see this same behavior in black flag and bf4.

It sounds like you may have other issues, the general consensus regarding TR and the Win8.1 "Bug" seems to only be affecting those with "Externally Bridged" SLI/3DV setups (how's that for descriptive?) and not "Single Slot"/3DV setups.
To add my 2bits to the lot, I too am running Win 8.1 and have experienced the "Bug." I was able to run the game using the "AA Override"function forcing the second card to be used as sort of a dedicated AA solution, sort of like PhysX - this works fairly well, even with max settings, but as others have mentioned, Win 8.1 is at fault here, not NV, oh sure they MAY be able to "fix" it, but they would be cleaning up MS's mess if they do.
So, I have settled upon a dual boot system, not messing around I am using a stripped down Win 7 Pro install, all decked out in NV Themed black and green, works like a charm! TR & For Watchdogs, which is an ALMIGHTY mess on win 8.1, and MUCH better on 7!
You would think that these things shouldn't happen, and I know there is LOADS more money spent on systems the likes of us are using, I mean if you are fairly successful in running 3D vision at all, along with implementing Helix MOD fixes and vender patches etc.. that speaks loads about the hardware you have and, to a degree, your level of PC expertise.
That said, and speaking generally, when done right, a proper 3D setup will BLOW THE DOORS off of even the pinnacle of current console tech, allowing (at least for me anyways) a sense of instant gratification, and this happens, more often than not, on 9 out of the 10 EDUCATED (THAT REALLY MATTERS HERE) game purchases.
In short, if you don't at least expect, and for many of us, enjoy "the pursuit" of perfection (and beyond) i.e. modding, tweaking, registry hunting - searching for that obscure line of code that breaths new life into a game/app, and yes, even admitting defeat and the occasional "poor decision" resulting in a downgrade or even worse "buyers remorse,"
I know, I know, I said it was short!

Well well well, we have a well :D so sorry I had to make this joke
I apologize for reviving and old thread, but I had to write this.
Basically I got rid of my two old gtx 670's three weeks ago and waited for my two gtx 970's to arrive, Sadly the retailer managed to deliver only one gtx 970, I'll be getting another 970 before christmas probably, when the retailer will restock the cards...There is a massive shortage of 970's, that's for sure, I had to wait three weeks for at least this one to arrive, but Iam glad I did, the card is mighty powerful.
So here is the beauty pictured when I took it out of the box, smelling very nice and looking quite handsome
http://imgur.com/a/g5xdW#0
It even glows nicely when inside my case, I have the Tt Armor Revo VO200M1W2N Black SECC ATX FT case and it even fits with all the whole lightning theme I got going on in my case and with all my peripherals, because the windforce logo glows blue, like the rest of my case fan led's and it's looking cool when the motherboard led stripes are glowing red in contrast.
Ok now onto the issue I've been having with tomb raider in 3D and why I created this thread back in december last year
So I tried to play The new Tomb raider from 2013 with my new graphics card installed and voila, the framerate is above 30, it's playable, but still not as smooth as I would've hoped it to be, but at least I can play the game and not have such a low fps like I was having with the old graphic cards before.
If I lower some of the settings from ultra to high I can manage to get a stable 60 and it's smooth as butter then, but I want to play on highest possible settings, so the question remains, can somebody guarantee me that if I go back to Win 7, basically make a separate boot just for playing tomb raider in 3D with as highest framerate as possible.
I even managed to get a second ssd, it's only a small one kingston ssd 120 GB but that should do the trick.
Thanks for the answers in advance

Getting 30-40 fps in the benchmark avg 35 with ultra settings (normal hair) on a single 580 in win 8.1.
I have shelved my other 580 for the moment which reduced the number of BSOD a day to much less than 1.
compared to lots of BSOD a day some time ago. Only a single BSOD since removing that card.

I should be getting substantially more fps with my gtx 970, especially if I set the settings to ultra without tress fx enabled....Iam going to try that now.
I tried it on Windows 10 with SLI 970s, and got the same performance as on Windows 8. I suspect a new driver might have finally fixed this.
On WIN 10 ,whoa how did you manage to do that? Is there some preview version avaialble now?
How many fps are you getting with everything on ultra and tressfx enabled at 1080p with that sli setup?

-TressFX kills framerates, I don't use it, and didn't test it.
-There's a Windows 10 technical preview available for download.
-I would expect performance on Win10 and 8.1 to be the same (probably).
-I was getting a solid 60 at 1080p with everything on max (except hair and AA)

Tomb Raider used to work fine for me in Win 8.1 if I just switched to double buffering then back to triple buffering. Smooth frame rates at that point with everything turned on.
There's a new issue where random parts of the screen have this weird delay when panning the camera when using SLI. I found manually setting SLI to AFR 2 fixes that second issue.

For Win7, I have a 2nd game PC that I use only for occasional co-op, and it has Win7 x32 installed but not activated. It says "this windows is not authorized", but continues to run. It will run for 30 days without any notice, and gives you time to determine if it solves the problem.

I have shelved my other 580 for the moment which reduced the number of BSOD a day to much less than 1.
compared to lots of BSOD a day some time ago. Only a single BSOD since removing that card.
Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?

I should be getting substantially more fps with my gtx 970, especially if I set the settings to ultra without tress fx enabled....Iam going to try that now.
On WIN 10 ,whoa how did you manage to do that? Is there some preview version avaialble now?
How many fps are you getting with everything on ultra and tressfx enabled at 1080p with that sli setup?

-There's a Windows 10 technical preview available for download.
-I would expect performance on Win10 and 8.1 to be the same (probably).
-I was getting a solid 60 at 1080p with everything on max (except hair and AA)
Allright thanks for that, Iam going to try it without the tressfx, to see if I can manage to get 60 fps..

There's a new issue where random parts of the screen have this weird delay when panning the camera when using SLI. I found manually setting SLI to AFR 2 fixes that second issue.
