If anyone is interested, you could use the shaders in DarkStarSwords github, and drop them into the game after deleting everything in the ShaderFixes folder.
Probably worth an experiment, and you can help narrow down anything that might still be broken.
Might still require some changes to d3dx.ini.

Hello chtiblue
it doesn't matter - the github-sources are running perfect with the latest update!
Scroll down under the list in the textes for the wd2-entry and only replace the shader-directory.
Just my two cents...

It's working for me by replacing the Shaderfixes folder of WATCH_DOGS2 under "Stereoscopic 3D Fixes"/"Complete Fixes" of https://github.com/DarkStarSword/3d-fixes but the connection line to the hacking target is still in 2D. Il'll try deeper hunting next week...

Hi DSS,
lovely fix you got here with Watch Dogs 2 - thank you very much for your work!
Listen I got 2x1080tis and I get 15 fps in the first map when the game starts.. and with single card I get 20s-30s fps with gpu usage at 50-60%. Is this the CPU bottleneck bug or is there a fix?
Thank you for your time and commitment,
Best Regards,
UB

I had to reinstall Windows 10, so WD2 didn't launch till I patched it. And the fucking new patch broke some 3D effects again...
I hope DSS will run again his script to update the fix one time again ;)
Hi,
so after trying 3dfixmanager and it installed Update v1.4 my fps was good! It worked. Only problem was that the aiming was 2D or something.. then I installed manually v1.5 and fps pooped to 10fps with 2x1080tis and cpu 3930k @ OC 4.8ghz stable. So it seems v1.5 is the culprit of the performance problem.. omw i must start playing games right after the fix is out man. Will there be a fix or should I play with v1.4? can't aim tho not even with Nvidia 3D aiming.

I can confirm this. Unfortunately this is really immersion breaking. have you been able to hunt down the buggy shader? If there was a possibility to disable that line, it would be better because the hacking target is still highlighted anyway.
Btw/ I noticed that the most recent Nvidia drivers 384.76 break the game. It can no longer be started and closes after a short black screen. I installed the previous version 382.53 and it works. So if you have issues, give it a try!

(I see these forums still haven't improved - it just ate my post)
Fix 1.6 is (finally) up on the blog - targeting lines and the 3D HUD are fixed again, as are all scripted patterns like the reflections. I've also re-enabled reflections of glass surfaces since it seems that Ubisoft fixed their bug that was causing artefacts with those.
@skr68 - thanks, added to the release notes. I haven't been keeping up to date with recent discussions - is this driver problematic more generally, or just in this game?
@UB313 - I compared the performance of 1.4 and 1.5 in SLI and found no difference - only the driver version made a difference (382.53 gave ~18fps, 376.33 gave ~44fps). Can you do a quick test for me and see what the performance of 1.6 is like if you replace 3DMigoto with 1.2.54?

For people who have the uPlay version of this game- take charge of your gaming life, and stopping letting the corporations f* with you. Set the game to not automatically update. Any changes they make are going to be 1/10 as valuable as 3D, don't let them wreck a working fix.
For Steam people, you can make a backup of your game directory when the fix is working. If they force an update and break it, you can restore from backup and still play. Steam won't let you avoid updates because they suck, but they don't check again after they wreck it. So you can restore and still play.
Putting the onus on the ShaderHackers to fix broken fixes is the absolute most annoying part of doing ShaderHacking. No one wants to spend their time refixing a game, when there are new ones to be done.
If a game is broken and the fixer has moved on, there is no guarantee it will ever be refixed. Like a fresh fix, someone has to care enough to want to refix it.
Take charge, don't let moron corporations rule your life.
