Hi, /w00twave.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':w00twave:' />
Do you guys got the water reflections in the launcher disabled, in order this water fix to work?
Water fix does work with or without reflections enabled, no prob.

@ chiz & Laast & Dorkirt: Thanks so much for Your great work!!! Now finally for me the time has come to start playing Skyrim "wholeheartedly" - enjoying the graphics, gameplay and stories instead of trying to discover (or desperately ignore) issues in S3D /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':biggrin:' />

My original display name is 3d4dd - for some reason Nvidia changed it..?!

So should i delete the meshes folder (previous 3D mod) and only use chiz & Laast & Dorkirt 3D mod ?

Should the v.1.2 just be extracted to the skyrim folder ?

Thanks ;0)

Yes, you don't need any prior s-3d mods. I assume that by "the meshes" you are referring to the initial mod, which offered a temporary solution by removing the sky, moon, clouds, etc.
Regardless if I am correct you don't need any previous 3d mods, just the ones mentioned by chiz in his mod on skyrimnexus.

Happy to see you guys are enjoying the mod, make sure to adjust the settings as you prefer. I tested my default settings at various depths/convergence too to make sure they were still at least somewhat compatible but you can tweak to your tastes.

Great work chiz - 3D UI is fantastic!!

I notice the aurora now seems a little too low in the sky. It appears to 'hang' now but unfortunately it is rendered in front of distant mountains. Would be awesome if someone could push it out a bit.

Failing that, would it affect Chiz's HUD if I reinstated Boris's mod?

I guess I could try it

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Thanks again guys, glad you are enjoying the new UI as much as I am. :)

@Artox - I will check again, I have a feeling there is a way to fix it but will result in making the water completely opaque again to the water's surface. The problem is I'm pretty sure that's 'DefaultWater' so changing the values there will make the water totally opaque in a lot of other places.

@3d4dd - and everyone else who has made 3D mods for Skyrim and other games, like yourself! :) I just wanted to improve, simplify and consolidate all the mods on Skyrim because I know its unlikely Bethesda ever will put out an official 3D Vision patch. Obviously I'd welcome that over all else. But there's countless fixes ahead of what I did from Dorkirt, Boris, the Stealth indicator and most importantly HeliX for his mod and tutorials.

@TheSleeper - yep basically just those 3 mods for 3D vision compatibility + official HD texture pack and you're in great shape. I will bundle them in a single download I think now that Dorkirt has given his blessing. Add a FXAA/SMAA injector or ENB shader mod and any other custom textures that you want on top of that, just keep in mind any water mods with .ESP will most likely break the 3D Vision Water mod.

@Andysonofbob - yeah Arioch said he meant to type 50, so I'll change that again, if you want to mod it yourself its simple, just go to \\Skyrim\shaderoverride\vertexshaders and find: 9AEFA2A7.txt

Find:
def c197, 15, 0, -150000, 0 //change 15 to adjust depth
change to
def c197, 50, 0, -150000, 0 //change 15 to adjust depth
You could just change the aurora depth to 300 but that pushes it out into space as far as the moons and stars. You need something in between to make it appear like it is really hanging in the sky like it should. 50 worked for me but if that isn't to your liking just push it out more.

OK guys, I went ahead and made a single mod download package with Dorkirt's permission: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9718

I also created a new file because the other one had issues and didn't allow for comments (created during high traffic time).

For new people picking up this thread, this download should cover all major 3D Vision compatibility issues and includes:

Uses -=HeliX=- mod to push 2D UI to 3D depths to improve comfort and compatibility.

Ports Boris' ENB 3D stereo fix moon and aurora depths to -=HeliX=- mod.

Includes Dorkirt's 3D Vision Compatibility Project skybox fixes.

Includes chizow's 3D Vision Water Fix using Creation Kit.
You can see pictures using this mod here: http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/chizow/album/4f36e75a3785015014000004/
Youtube 3D HTML5 vid here (may still be processing): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xboODcwH25s&feature=html5_3d

Awesome news, will really help minimize problems and streamline the whole process. Btw I did check for leftover water mods and didn't find any, but I am still getting problems with the water, too bad if it will have to go full opaque. Were you able to recreate the problem on your machine?

Making water opaque means fixing water (for now). So it is not a "problem". Transparent water and 3dVision can't work together until we find another way to tweak refraction effects (modifying shaders maybe?)... /turned.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':turned:' />

I understand, but the current solution by chez is no panacea in my case as I still have some problems. I haven't tested in these areas with your mod, but I'll try this as well. The reason I don't use your mod is that the water is too calm for me in some areas, specifically rivers and near the watermills, but this is my problem, not yours :)

Hi Artox yes I was able to reproduce it but not as severely. It seems to be certain angles at a distance. If you check out the youtube vid after ~6 minute mark I'm at that spot west of Riften and you get the slight shore silhouette render only in one eye. When I was testing the water fix there was a trade-off, some of that slight one-eye silhouette at distance or more translucency for refraction under the water surface. There is a fix but it will make the water completely opaque meaning it will be like staring at chocolate milk. Also since that water is "DefaultWater" the change will apply everywhere it is used including a lot of close-up areas (thieves guild) where the extra translucency was nice.

If you like, I can upload an alternate file for just the water .esp to make it more opaque, or you can load up my mod in the Creation Kit and change the values to your preference. I detail how to get to WaterType and what values to change here: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=215250&view=findpost&p=1367208
