Second PG278QR and still sever crosstalk issue
Seriously I don't understand what's happening. How come some of you say it's the best 3D monitor with less crosstalk yet while my BenQ is 10x better? Maybe because you never owned a BenQ? Or maybe you think my setup is wrong? I doubt it because I tested on 2 different video cards, a 660 Ti and 1080 Ti, also tested on Windows 7 and Windows 10. Result is always the same. See https://imgur.com/a/eQdnP Any suggestion before I return it? This is frustrating, I bought on Black Friday at an all time low price and I was sure to get the best monitor after reading some opinions here but I cannot tolerate such crossatlk so I'm afraid I will end up with a refund and no new monitor for my new high end computer I just completed. There is the new PG27VQ but 300$ more with curve and RGB I don't need and no idea if crosstalk will be the same. I wish BenQ had a 1440p 3D monitor.

Try to play at 100Hz instead of 120Hz, if the ghosting disappears then the cause is mainboard or software. If there's no change in ghosting then the second monitor has issues too. For 100Hz go to Nvidia Control Panel and force 100Hz from "Test Stereoscopic 3D".

Same ghosting @100Hz with more flickering. Seems that this monitor process the images in a different way than BenQ. When I look at the ghost image on the ASUS I can see thin vertical line, not on the BenQ, or too hard to see. Instead of focusing always on the same images, the one I linked to and the nvidia demo, I tried to play a game and I know it depends on the map but the corsstalk issue was harder to see and mostly playable but I just can't accept that on some particular map I get sever crosstalk while I don't have such issue with the BenQ. I bet that that issue is there for everyone but some just accept it as it is because either they don't see notice it (playing different games than me) or they simply not much bothered by it.

yep, I had a chance to test PG278Q and S2716DG and they were awful. benq xl2420tx is perfect - no crosstalk issue. So yes, people on PQ278Q maybe just accept this issue because they haven't seen the absence of this issue as in case of benq p.s. mb the only way to reduce crosstalk is to do some brightness/contrast tweaks. Dont forget that benq TX automatically enables lightboost.

@Rhialto you can stop right now with sending those PG278QRs back . Your experience concerning ghosting won't change! With my first PG278QR I was also sure that my unit must haven been faulty since everyone was praising it for being nearly ghosting-free. My second one performed exactly the same in terms of ghosting! I guess the difference in people's perception of ghosting with this monitor is due to different games they use for testing it. The monitor itself is very good and when you test it with a darker game like Witcher 3 you won't notice any ghosting when not focusing on it in very "ghosting-critical" scenes. When I tested my units I was playing Just Cause 3 at the time and this title is "ghosting-critical" all the time because you almost always have the bright blue sky in the background of everything. I am absolutely sure there is no PG278QR around that doesn't show significant ghosting in this scenario...

I tested two just to see if there was any differences and came to the conclusion the technic/process used to achieve 3D on this monitor is different than the BenQ and was not acceptable to me so got refunded. Now my big question is if the latest PG27VQ will give the same results knowing it's also an ASUS one. All 3 monitors use AU Optronics panels so I wonder where the difference is, is it from the panel or from the electonics that makes it 3D? Maybe BenQ engineers designed the electronic boards differently than ASUS, or maybe it's designerd by nvidia and companies just use the original plans. If I could get 300$ more I would immediatly buy one and would be able to compare now that's it's all fresh in my head after many hours testing.

I wish Benq made something like XL2420TX, but this is not going to happen :-(
