Sony â—¦Sony HMZ-T1 HMD support is now available New 3DTV Play Update Utility

I just got my HMZ-T1 and it's really a great device, evne though it could be more comfortable. As a 3dtvplay newbie, everything worked smoothly, installed drivers, the device was detected properly, audio works fine using dvi-hdmi with my gtx 460 and with the 3d vision dongle connected 3d worked just fine, so I'm quite happy overall. A few things though:
1) The depth batch mentioned (I haven't tried it yet, next thing on the list) seem to be specific for skyrim, can anyone provide a batch file that works with everything, I'm used to my old acer h5360 depth hack and even though HMZ-T1 has great depth, I want more!!
2) How do I pull out the forehead thing, I want to try a smaller one but I don't want to force it, any suggestions.
btw thanks a lot Andrew for supporting this device and releasing a profile so fast!

Sure, this should work out as well (ALT+TAB out of the game once stereo 3d has kicked in, activate that batch file and switch back into the game):
The HEX 80 used are my sweetspot it seems - not too hard on the eyes, but plenty of depth.
Two more tips for the HMZ-T1:
1. Cover it with some plastic/cloth and adhesive tape to block as much rest light out as you can - this immensely enhances the picture and immersion (unless you play in a pitch black room anyway)
2. To get weight from your nose and forehead try attaching a horizontal string on the hinges of the backhead plastic band (at the sides, where the plastic hinges are the most robust). Attach to that horizontal string a second vertical string - when you pull this downward a triangular shape is created. Sit on this vertical string and pull it tight, keeping it held with just your weight. With these strings you can - after some short training - keep the device help in place with much more comfort and less pressure on your head.

Thanks a lot bobar, I'll check the batch file when I get home.
I have to agree that I have to find some kind of cloth that blocks the light, it can take a lot from the experience of being in front of huge screen.
Bobarr can you please post some pictures of both your light blocker and your suggested mod at 2. ? I'm no native english speaker and I really can't visualize properly what you mean, I would be very grateful since with this you would basically fix all my problems with this device, mostly the lack of depth and being quite streneus to use it for a long time. I'm currently thinking on selling my h5360 and this would help my decision.

I will look for some good camera to make pictures acually worth using.
In the meantime: I have made good experience with using no head cushion at all (those pads that come in 3 sizes). Also I use a rubberband to keep the device ativce all the time -regardless of head pressure on the forehead pad holder (the rubberband creates that pressure all the time). Also I have removed the nose padding to get more space.
All of this combined (as well as darkend with plastic/cloth and additionally held by that vertical string) allows some very flexible positioning.

I almost get all the weight of the device with the forehead and the nose, so I don't know how can it work without it, I really want to check out those pictures now even more, thanks a lot!

Hi, I've got Sony HMZ-T1 and trying to get it to work.
I have a GTX260 videocard and Win7, downloaded and installed 285.79 drivers, installed 3DTV Play (trial) and the update from the 1st post.
I set Sony as primary display, turned on Stereoscopic 3D in NVidia Control Panel, ran through the wizard and watched beautiful (and totally stereoscopic) slide-show from different games at the end.
BUT, the games still appear flat. Tried on Metro 2033 and Just Cause 2 which are both officially support stereo as I remember.
I used 1280x720 resolution for HMD compatibility and there was a text saying that 3D signal is received at the corner of the view.
What am I doing wrong?

MM... it is hard to say what went wrong ^_^
When you launch the games do you see the overlay text (in yellow right down corner ?)
It is the nvidia stereo mode.
There are shortcuts to that to activate it (CRTL+T) om/off
If this is not there when you start...
Try CTRL+ALT+INSERT (show/hide in game compatibility test)
If you do you probably need to adjust the Depth.
2 ways ; in the nvidia Cpanel (set up stereo.) or while in the game with
CTRL+F4 (more)
CRTL+F3 (Less)

Possible help :
on your MHZ-T1 menu (inside) are you in auto 3D ?
Other thing :
Don't use HMZ, try the steroscopic on you main monitor with Red/Blue/cyan mode (analygraph)
Does this work ?

If no... well it is a PC problem ^_^
if yes... check option on your HMD...

Detect 3d signal ON

it is ON because it displays "3D signal detected" anytime I switch to 1280x720.

@Echo Off
@TIMEOUT 1
@REG ADD "HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D" /v MonitorSize /t REG_DWORD /d 80 /f

MM... it is hard to say what went wrong ^_^
Let us know how it is going for you.
Cheers
And welcome to the club of the red rectangle ^_^
