I think multiple VR manufacturers is a great thing if the work being done on Oculus support can easily be ported to other platforms. Perhaps even a *gasp* VR Standard would emerge! :)

i think this is only for PS4. Oculus VR will detail the specs of the dk2 and "is possible" the release date of cv1. Next week good week for VR. :)

Thats a huge waste of pixels tbh. Rift shows you can't increase FOV without making crazy sacrifices.

You'd probably only need about half of that FOV to be really sharp/HD to be convincingly realistic, the rest could be a lower/fuzzier ... get some hybrid amBX LED lighting going on inside there(around the edges to complete the wrap around effect)! :) edit: I know I'm saying most of this in jest but a fully wrap around FOV, or at the very least seeming like it does, should be the ultimate goal of(the visual aspect of) VR ... well besides just jacking into our brains. :)

Well even "IF" its just PS4. That really increases the viability of Oculus Rift. TBH, I couldn't really see any non-indie's developing for it for a very long time. But since the games can be multi-platform [Yes, I know they will be different but most of the battle is 3D/interface]. Like games almost always come out on XBOX/PS3 just cause why not, you make more money.
... well besides just jacking into our brains. :)
I really.... REALLY wanna live long enough to see that technology come in. Not to make anyone uncomfortable, but I call myself "wheels" for a reason... I'd give plenty to have the occasional use of a set of legs again, even if they're virtual.
