A few problems with 3d vision.
  1 / 4
Just got my asus 120hz monitor with 3d vision today, i was hoping it would be as simple as everyone says it would, install latest drivers for 3d and graphics card and away i go. no it wasnt like that
Im getting the error

Error in stereo driver
NvAPI_stereo_isactivated() Returned 0 after stereo was enabled by default with settings > setDefaultStartupModeTrue

when i installed the 3d driver, i kept getting the error "Please install an earlier driver"... Iv download aload of different drivers and install but no use. Any ideas??

Also when the tests do start up. when i shut my right eye i see the shape, when i close my left i see 2 transparent shapes. Is this my problem? i had a go on 3d vision on a friends pc and i never had this problem....

Also on the one occasion i got mass effect 2 to load in 3d, there was a 3d effect but the glasses didnt work and they where on.

Anyone got any ideas? advice?

also im getting

Warning: attempt to run Stereoscopic in non-stereo display mode, please change to a acceptable mode. See documentation for acceptable Stereoscopic 3D modes

I have a 9800GT on latest drivers from nvidia and latest 3d drivers.

anyone ? :(

Hi

Gutting you are having such problems with your setup. It will work and it'll be so worth it mate! :)

I used to get this message. What I did to fix it was change the default resolution setting to the next one down and set FSAA to 4x and 120hz. To do this go to the nVidia panel then "Test Stereoscopic 3D...".

Have you done the obvious and uninstalled your old drivers. Make sure you remove the nVidia display drivers from the control panel.

Lets us know how you get on.

What the version number of the video driver and from the 3d driver ?
..they should be compatible, cannot use different version.

To be sure ,better use the 'CD' drivers.

Cool! Quietly hopeful from what you have just posted... Both drivers (graphics card and 3D vision) should be the same. Ferry's link is the one you want mate!

That link was for the 64bit version of windows...

i will have to download it tomorrow morning. Bandwith issues atm. I will report back then.

I can get all my games loaded up with 3d vision. bioshock 2, everyone says that is perfect but to me its ugly. I see 2 images and i cant get them lined up. switching glasses off makes the images go further appart and putting them on makes them go closer but not by much.

Im on windows 7 64bit if that helps.

the drivers you gave me work perfectly! i can see 2 clear images when i close my left and right eye, still fail on the medical test though.

Gave mass effect 2 a whirl, i still see 2 images, one solid one transparant. I turn depth down to get them to go into 1 images but it gets to a point where i cant go down any further. When i increase depth everything just goes all double visioned for me.
