You all loved quake when you were young, right? playing on your 33.6 or maybe 56k modems
THEN PLAY IT IN 3D motherfrackers!

you damn desperate dirty 3d whores, look at you. All downloading this ancient game just cuz you need that fix, you crave it! Just kidding, you know I love you guys.

Now, download this source port here!

http://directq.codeplex.com/Release/Projec...82#ReleaseFiles

Then put the exe file in your pre-existing quake 1 game folder! You DO have the game, right? Come on. Everyone still has quake on their hard drives...

Right? Damnit, you're letting me down over here! Fine, you need the shareware? Have the damn shareware!

http://www.quakeone.com/q1files/downloads/...up-beta099a.exe

It's actually a massively improved source port - full framerate animations, fog effects if you want em, replaceable textures if you're into that... Yeah. It's a lot of fun.

I'll be over there, getting killed in the damn slipgate traps. Have fun!

Ehm, when I was young I actually played
Boulder Dash, Rescue on Fractalus!, and thousands of other
games on Atari 800XL (eeeh sorry Atari 800XE, the nicer one) with modded XC12 (Turbo 2000, 4000 - really fast transfer rates) and home made catridges for loader.

There were a lot of games with 3D like feeling, however Nvidia did a strategic decision not to support Atari 800, so that machine is resting now in case.

I realize this is an old thread, but I just had the chance to try this and I wanted to thank the original poster for it. I love the old Quake and in 3D it's even more of a blast. Thanks!
