GTX 470 SLI
Firstly, could anybody tell me whether a Corsair TX750 would be a sufficient power supply to run two GTX 470s in SLi?

Secondly, does anybody happen to know if there might have been any benchmarks released suggesting how good the performance is in 3D with two GTX 470s?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Here's a link below with some good info for you. I'd say it would be a good idea to get a more powerful psu. It'd sure be a shame to damage some components by taking a chance. It just doesn't seem that 750w is gonna cut it for sli.

I'd certainly love to see some stereoscopic benchmarks, but I'm afraid I will be disappointed with the results.

You should be OK with a 750W for 470 SLI, there's someone over at EVGA running a pair of 480s in SLI on a TX850W. Nvidia recommends 550W total system power for 1x470, so another 215W for the other 470 puts you right around 750W. Nvidia specs are typically conservative however and slightly overstated.

As for 3D performance with 2x470's, I personally think that's just about perfect for 3DV @ 1080p with max detail/settings and 4xAA in most games. There's still a couple that may bring that below 60, like Crysis, Metro2033, BFBC2 but for the most part you should see locked frames at 60+ and an overall excellent gaming experience. Having used GTX 280 in SLI and currently running a single GTX 480, the 280 SLI still struggles and drops below 60FPS in quite a few games. The single 480 is sometimes better and sometimes worst depending on the game. I plan to get a 2nd 480 as a result, but 2x470 is probably sufficient as the 470 is ~30-50% faster than a 280, which should be enough to maintain 60FPS in 3D Vision for most games.

I would be pretty damn happy with around 60fps in most games. I generally don't care about frames per second too much - I can happily play any game at around 25fps.

That really depends on what kind of game you're playing. 25 frames may be fine for Metro 2033 but it can be stuttering for Just Cause 2. It really depends. Street Fighter IV you need at least 50 to make it playable, but it's a light game anyway. It depends on the game itself, if the gameplay is smooth and not the actual frame rate count the way I see it.
