I have a loan projector from work
Its a benq M620p
Stereo works, BUT, the flicker is unbearable and makes me feel sick after a few mins. (never had this problem with a CRT monitor at 100Hz, played for hours without a hint of sickness).
The max refresh the projector will allow me is 85hz.
are there any DLP projectors that run at 100hz (at least 1024*768).?

I have a acer projector that runs at 85hz at 1024x768 and I get no flicker at all. Even though the projector supports 85hz I would check that you are actually putting out a signal at this rate. Check the monitor settings in the display properties->settings->monitor TAB and check the stereo refresh rate for that resolution in the stereo settings tab as it might have defaulted to 60hz for a new monitor that has no coresponding windows driver.

make sure IT IS working at 85Hz, set it for many resolutions in stereo control panel. For me and many friends/family 85Hz is almost unnoticeable. Make sure that other programs are not overriding refresh rate from stereo panel. Flickering should be very different from that in medical test image that is running ALWAYS at 60Hz

I use 2Benq projectors PB 6240 with Matrox Dual Head 2Go Adapter in res 2048x768 (2x1024x768) at 85 Hz and this is problemless, flicker at 85Hz is minimally. It is necesarry use in dark room. The tint R/L difference is normal, this is no defect. For 3D stereo this is no problem. I love this setup (and Trackir4).

I get this tint on my Acer too. This seems to be the norm but I have been wondering if it was possible to write some software that will calibate the colours between left eye and right eye. Anyone have any ideas how I could start doing this?

everything was set to 85hz. stereo tab, screen, etc etc
HOWEVER.
I adjusted the seperation down from 100% to 50%, and, although I could still see flicker, I didnt feel sick any more!.
why might this be?
thanks

In real life separation is never more than the distance between Your eyes. So maybe You "overseparated"?

Especially Benq projectors.
With Benq, when in stereo, just go into the settings menu to see what refresh is being current used.
EDIT
Of Course I mean anything Other than 60Hz not 85Hz.
Its not a glasses signal problem or shutters themselves. You can see the tint with the glasses off when you look at the double image on the screen.

From my sight the R/L difference is marginal. in 3D stereo this is binocular no noticeable.
