How to fix/disable shaders in games(DLL,guide and fixes).

Thanks Mana84 for the WIP of Bioshock!!!.... when i finish DS3 i will test for sure!! @mike_ar69, i have a fix for L4D2....fix the halos around water and HUD (nameplates, markers and others in 3D)...never upload because i cant fix reflections in some part on water (its beyond my knowledge)...and the game have some models in the background (i fix a few) that share same textures with some object in front, so i think its hard to fix without devs intervention....because if i fix the background i break some objects depth in front. if anyone want to test it i will upload here.

just checked your bioshock fix mana84, amazing job, I would rate the game now "very good", it still has some issues but it's much more playable now, thanks you so much for this! I've posted a few pics on 3dvisionlive if anyone wants to check it out

@Mana84 Great job on Bioshock. I was able to play for a while last night and it's already transformed. I had to launch the game using the -dx9 flag, and had to turn off shadow map (I think that is what it was called) in game. A couple of issues I noted are that certain water reflections (but not all of them) are still off, and in the beginning when you start to walk in the building there is spotlight on a character running away and the spotlight is at screen depth (or its off a bit). I'll play some more and take better notes for you - what debug dll did you use, I can try and identify bad shaders as I go through and let you know what they are.

@DHR Great news. I'm more than happy to test out your fix for you. The skybox shaders are not too distracting so I can live with that if its not fixable, it was the water halos that really messed me up, especially in the swap levels.

thanks for your feedback, like I said its still work in progress... the problem is that every single water cascade/stain/river/stream/something has a vertex and a pixel shader! I'd need some time just to dump all of them, then I should fix them one by one or modify my tool to automatically fix pixel shaders too... if someone is interested and could help me with dumping it would save me some time... The most of water effects should be fixed, but specular reflected lights needs to be fixed in pixel shaders, I fixed a pair of them in the part when you open the first door with the electro bolt and others should be the same... I'd just need others pixel shaders but cycling thousands of them each time I found an issue is a pain... if someone has better suggestion is welcomed ;) Shadows/lights are still in progress, I actually fixed a pair of shaders, but I'd probably need other ones or some related pixel shaders too.

thanks eqzitara, I'm just looking at I am alive fix, but its all based on new helixmod functionalities... I can't understand without a guide :( btw it seems to have different shaders, despite its sharing the same engine (unreal). @mike_ar69: sorry, I forgot to answer your question... I'm using the dll dated 16th of january but I think any dlls dated after april 2012 should be fine with my fix since I'm not using latest debug functionalities.

@mana84, yesterday i do a quick look to Bioshock 1 WIP, Thanks!!...i will wait the final version of the fix :) , Bioschok 1 its amazing. I also have Bioshock 2, but its not the same (tbh i dont like it to much...I play a couple of hours only and quit)...and to top, that f**cking GFWL erase my savegame and now refuse to work with BS2...grrrrr!!! And for Bioshock 1, i have the "no sound issue" (i have to try the stereo mix and/or compatibility mode workaround). @mike_ar69, i will put a link here to L4D2 fix....still water with wrong reflections looks bad.

Hello, another stupid question: what is the unit of the output position register ? Are they in pixel or in screen percentage ? eg: If have a screen resolution of 1000x500 and the position of the current pixel is 500,500 will the o0.x be 500 or 0.5 ? I used a 2 screen configuration for DCS, and I want to try to override the shader only for the first screen => pixel pos < (1920, 1080). And is there no way to have a 64b version of Helix d3d9.dll ?
