After playing for longer I would say this is 95% perfect. Mike your the man! The only 2 issues I found are: 1. When it rains some of the reflections are off( very small problem might be hard to get perfect) 2. The ghost's that appear at very few segments of the game are 2d very similar to the magic spells on the ground Mike already mentioned. I mean with this amazing fix Zenimax is going to possibly get my money for years. I agree with the other thread where sometimes a thank you doesn't seem like enough & I kind of wish we had to pay like $5 for a fix. Thanks!

OK i have noticed that there are many other meanings in "how to play games in 3D" related to convergence and seperation. The WIP 1.4 for TESO from Mike is with high depth and low convergence i think. The UI needs to be placed more in depth for this "version of playing". I play with high convergence and the 1.4 crosshair is much too far away from me and the UI on screen depth is strange. So i did some stupid investigations how to get this working for me and i changed something in the DX9Settings.ini and implemented my personal settings. This will mean that the crosshair is in the right depth if i target something with a right zoomed camera. For not bothering me all the time i disabled crosshair via this mod (http://www.esoui.com/downloads/info228-ReticleSettingsCustomCrosshair.html) and so it will ony appear if i target something. Infight i can tuely live withou crosshair. So to show you how the crosshair and UI is without the addon i disabled it and made 2 screenshos (thx @ bo3b for telling me how). Rain is rendered at 2d screen depth so that might be what you are seeing, otherwise it might be related to the specular lighting issue on windows. I'll have a look this weekend. 2. For the case that you have in your screenshots with very high conv, low depth, would you prefer the HUD to be sticking out the screen a short distance? That's easy enough. 1. Rain is rendered at 2d screen depth so that might be what you are seeing, otherwise it might be related to the specular lighting issue on windows. I'll have a look this weekend.

I can perhaps provide a depth toggle key that cycle through a few presets (e.g. no hud change at all, the one I have now, a lower depth version (if convergence is high), etc). For the case that you have in your screenshots with very high conv, low depth, would you prefer the HUD to be sticking out the screen a short distance? That's easy enough. Let me know and I will have a play around.

Hi Mike, i like your presets more than mine but i have to scale it with the UI because the low conv. moves the UI much to far from the ground and with the version which have UI-depth the mouse in inventory etc is bothering me with the "on top viewing". So the only version which is profitable is the one where the UI is OVER the ground and the crosshair is changing depth with targetting texture, like it is in games where 3D Vision works well (like tomb raider). So if this is not possbile there wont be any optimum :-) In fact: - the presets you use needs a UI depth, but there will be the problem with the mouse cursor. - the preset i use must not have UI depth because of the UI is too far awa from the ground ==> Both variants are user speific and it would be nice to implement these variants into presets "would you prefer the HUD to be sticking out the screen a short distance" ==> I cant realy get what this means for the "viewing performance" so may be you can give us an example in a preset for that? OK, so I updated the HUD stuff, last thing I am going to do lol! Its potentially complicated but I provide 2 presets:
1. High depth, low convergence: cross hair deep, hud just a little bit into screen. Mouse cursor is at screen depth, nothing I can do about that
2. Low depth, high convergence: cross hair not deep, hud slightly out of screen. Mouse cursor is at screen depth, nothing I can do about that.

Importantly, I made it all configurable, but you will need to edit the A8BE42F2.txt shader file values:


//Bounding box for crosshair <==THE CENTRAL AREA FOR CUTTING OUT A BOX THAT GETS PUT TO DEPTH
def c201, -0.1, 0.4, 0.1, -0.1

//Low depth high conv (x= hud shift, y=x-hair shift
def c202, -15, -2, 0.0, 0.0 <==CONSTANTS TO DEFINE THIS PRESET

//High depth low conv
def c203, 0.1, 0.9, 0.0, 0.0 <==CONSTANTS TO DEFINE THIS PRESET

So to change how it looks for you:
c202/3.x = depth of HUD (positive is in screen, negative is out of screen)
c202/3.y = depth of cross-hair

Ultimately the mouse cursor is at screen depth though, so moving the hud to far in or out can make selecting things tricky.

Mike, I tried the 1.5 fix and it seems there is a major flaw.. when I went ingame the convergance was so far off and uncorrectable.. perhaps I missed a setting in your config??

THX MIKE, now the high conv. UI is working for me :-) I have also tryed to modify the A8BE42F2.txt and its quit simple. For those who dont understand how here is a short walkthrough: Just get some of the DEBUG DDLs from HelixMod ... I am new to the world of 3dgaming, but I managed to play thief and tombraider in 3d. I dont know how to even get ESO to play in 3d. It does not "kick in"... I have put resolution to 720p instead of the usual 1080p I use when not playing 3d. Still its no 3d when I start the game. Pls help me by explaining what I must be sure to have in order for 3d to start.
I am new to the world of 3dgaming, but I managed to play thief and tombraider in 3d. I dont know how to even get ESO to play in 3d. It does not "kick in"... I have put resolution to 720p instead of the usual 1080p I use when not playing 3d. Still its no 3d when I start the game. Pls help me by explaining what I must be sure to have in order for 3d to start.
