MSI GT60 with 680M, can't get 3D working?
So I just received my new GT60 laptop with the 680m video card and 4gb of vram. I am using it with an Acer HN274H which supports HDMI 1.4. I am using a HDMI 1.4 cable with "3D support", but can't seem to get anything to start in 3D. I noticed the options for turning on 3d to be missing from my control panel (when compared to the GTX 580 in my desktop), and am wondering if it's simply not being switched on. My 3d vision pyramid (not sure how else to describe it) is showing the Nvidia logo glowing in green, but it isn't lighting up brightly like it does when a 3d game launches on my desktop. It was previously glowing red, but with the new Beta drivers released by Nvidia it has adopted the dull green glow. Any help with this would be.. err... helpful.

I have MSI GT60 403us, with GTX680m i only can play CS source if i put DirectX 8.0, BF3 only can play in window mode and Freezes after minutes playing, CS:GO BSOD, Sleeping Dogs BSOD after 30-40min, i already tried Win8 newer drivers without lucky, the machine freezes at install, next i cant enter nvidia control panel and BSOD for all games... only the default from factory are nvidia control panel functionally. (302.75) I have tried windows7 fresh install with the same results. i bought the laptop about 3 month ago, the only game that i could played was Sleeping Dogs and Alan Wake... but its freezes too after about several minutes playing. i bought this laptop close 2k bucks for gaming, i can´t play anything... only Intel hd saved this laptop, now i can use this only for internet surfing. IM Very disappointed How do you manages those errors?

You're not using 3D Vision are you? You should try one of the other sub forums like GeForce drivers or GeForce 700/600 Series. https://forums.geforce.com/default/board/33/geforce-drivers/ https://forums.geforce.com/default/board/34/geforce-700-600-series/

K, I assumed as much. There's a lot of info on BSOD in those other sub forums. Maybe try this fix, it might work for you. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/566268/geforce-drivers/windows-8-bsod-blank-screen-distorted-display-working-fix-7-24-13-/ Post in those other sub threads I linked above. Where you are likely to be helped. This sub thread is for 3D Vision, Nvidias stereoscopic gameplay solution. GL

looks like Nvidia optimus attacks again, most new laptops with this technology don't support 3d vision if it's not specifically stated, incredible but true.
