I decided to throw here all the stuff related to the availability of GD245HQ/GD235HZ/AW2310 in Europe (particularly UK/Ireland) since it doesn't really concern US users.
To sum it up:
- Acer UK, Amazon, PC World don't even list the product.
- Overclockers UK: pre-order available since Dec/Jan, still no update.
- Dabs: ETA varies regularly between 1-2 days and 3-4 weeks. After a few iterations I decided to give up (now it's 3-4 weeks again).
- Novatech: They promise to get 100 displays on the 1st of March.
- Scan: My last shattered hope. They were to receive some today, but the date has been pushed back again to (al least) 26th of February, i.e. another 2 weeks. I've been already waiting for a month (some probably were waiting for 2-3 months), placing and cancelling pre-orders and wasting a lot of time. No more. I never thought I'll say this, but I decided to go for AW. I might have picked the lesser (and the more expensive) product, but it's my humble way of showing the mid finger to Acer executives who are ignorant enough to consider Europe one big countryside. I'm old enough to realize this achieves nothing in the end, but what the heck...
I invite you to do the same if you've been waiting too long.
In part I still regret my choice (mainly because 3ms vs 2ms), but I hope AW is not as bad as some people suggest. At the very least, I hope to be able to stick with it until much better products will be available (e.g. 27-30", <1 ms response, IPS/AFFS technology instead of TN) that will put both AW and Acer to shame. That however is not likely to happen anytime soon.
Although there's no turning back from my decision, I'm still curious if anybody in Europe actually managed to get their hands on GD245HQ (testers/reviewers don't count) , and if not when will than happen. So keep the posts flowing folks...

I emailed dabs, they said they have got a date and it's the 5th of March but the site isn't being updated properly :)
I am almost 80% gonna buy the AW to because, like you I feel it's very unprofessional for Acer to be holding off this long. That review of the AW being the better monitor even helps sway me more. It's a very painful procedure :(

For my country the first Acer GD245HQ displays on the market are expected early March, but they were previously supposed to be available as early as February... I believe there was some delay from Acer and that is why the shipments got delayed. If any of the local Acer distributors ordered the monitor on time they should also have it in Europe in early March I suppose...
oh and overclockers are saying somewhere around start of march in their forums
Hmmm... I for one don't believe until I see it (not that it matters any more to me, within 24-48h I will be enjoying my new Alienware).
I'd be very surprised if they become available in the EU before 1st of March, or rather March 15th.
The other day I was browsing several local Acer websites, and so far only Acer Germany listed GD245HQ (but still not available for online purchase).
I still don't get it why Acer is so nonchalant about losing market share to Alienware/Dell... perhaps they think 120 Hz and 3D gaming is not that big of a deal. Or maybe they got their attention elsewhere.
Luckily enough for them AW is not exactly widely available either, not to mention the price...

I spoke with Misco Italy (a large IT eSupplier) and they claimed it would be available from 15 March. They did not know however where this information came from. IMHO next week is CeBIT in Germany, so probably that will be the official launch in Europe.
