With original profile, race's checkpoints are broken. Are they broken with MP3 profile too. I remember first days I played multiplayer with MP3 profile, checkpoints were not broken?...

It is good to know that you've got it working so well. What I'm trying to establish here, is what are the essential variables that are required, that one cannot afford to do without? If 350.12 is an absolute prerequisite, then it's simply tough luck for me in that case, although rather confusingly some are actually getting this working with older drivers too. Maxpayne3's profile works for some, but not for others. One can only assume that those who have the latest driver, may perhaps be using the wrong profile in that case. Right from the outset, I had hoped that a patch alone would resolve the issues that I'm getting rather than an NVidia driver update, but I guess that isn't the case. Can I just ask though, as I've installed GTA V on Win 8 as you have, is do you regularly update your OS? I have internet security and antivirus bang up to date of course, but not a lot else really, simply because I've never needed it to be. Whenever my game crashes it's almost always due to this file, nvwgf2umx.dll. Apparently, that's caused problems for those playing GTA V in 2D as well. I'm assuming that it might have something to do with the updating of .NET Framework, and that switching to automatic OS updates could perhaps resolve the matter. Edit: Just tried updating .NET Framework to version 4.5.2. It made no difference.

I don't have 3D breaking after x amount of time. The only problem I have is huge framerate drops in 3D and the menu flickering. Text is fine also using the standard GTA V profile too. The difference is that I use 60 Hz as my 3D mode which means both passive and checkerboard should have no problems with the 3D problems that I've read.

I was holding off on playing after reading about the issues with the game on this thread. I finally decided to jump into Los Santos and I have had a great experience so far. I am on 350.12 using the default gtav profile. 3d looks great and I have had no 3d breaking or crashing after many hours of play. My only issues are: objective markers are heavily doubled, not at the right depth. When I pause the game the image behind the menus flashes, in my left eye only, really bad. If those two issues get fixed, then I would consider this game as 3d ready as they come these days. As for my in-game settings: everything at its highest setting (grass on ultra with no issues), vsync on, fxaa on, msaa off. My system specs: Maximus hero vii 4790k @4.8ghz sli msi 980 gaming @1531mhz 16gb gskill @2400mhz All under a customer water loop windows 8.1 3d vision with Sammy dlp checkerboard

The fact that you've got 3D running using 900 Series cards in SLI bodes well. With everything maxed out, how are your frame rates doing, and is your SLI scaling doing as well as you'd have expected it to?

If you are wary of switching out to other drivers, and I totally understand that, you might try making an image backup of your system as is. Then if you try stuff and it's not better, you can always restore back to exactly where you were. A bit of time, but hey, you need a backup anyway right? And external drives are dirt cheap nowadays. For my scenario, I've had very good luck in the sense that I get no 3D droputs, and no crashes, it's completely playable. I've played for multiple 5 hour sessions with no glitches. Could just be luck too, but I'm using the same settings I posted earlier. Other people have used those and had dropouts, so it's not some setting in that list. If (when?) I get a glitch, I'll let you know.
That file you get crashes for is a nvidia geforce dll, probably the main graphics driver.
I'd realised it was driver related, but that's okay, I'll just live with it. However, any data points are always welcome.;) I've never played GTA at all before, let alone realised that a 3D version would be out on PC this year, so this would have been a bit of a bonus if it had worked completely for me. If the Witcher 3 is in fact playable in 3D, and if I can get it to actually work on my current setup, then that's really all that I could have asked of my rig. I always vowed that I would never turn my system upside down in order to get one single game working, and that approach has served me well. I've got enough playable 3D games on my rig to last me for years. The plan was always to start over afresh with a brand new rig with 980ti's minimum, but I'd imagine I'll wait well into next year now, and just see what's on offer then. Windows 10, stackable VRAM, latest NVidia drivers and all that. OFF-TOPIC I've actually still got a functioning Windows 98 PC. It's got a whole host of DX 7/8 and 9 games including Battlezone 2, I-War 1-2, Star Trek: Bridge Commander, the list just goes on. I've still got a very nice Iiyama Vision Master Pro 514 22" CRT monitor @2048x1536, but someone else is using it, so I'll probably get it when it's broken. I have an E-Dimensional 3D kit on standby anyway. I'll never forget just how good the USS Enterprise looked floating in front of my monitor. Awesome.

I spoke too soon about no crashing. Crashed midway through a mission :( Although I was running afterburner for the first time so I wonder if that's the cause. Using the afterburner monitoring I established that I am running fairly solid at 60fps. Both cards are utilized between 35-45%. My i7 has HT disabled, and my usage is spread across all four cores around 75-95%! Cpu killer. I am still roaming only the city so there is the possibility that ultra grass is broken elsewhere on the map.

As you say, with any luck it's just Afterburner that caused your little glitch and that it's just a one-off. Performance wise, maxed out settings at around 60fps sounds pretty healthy, along with functioning SLI. That all sounds very encouraging indeed. But what about that grass, dare you venture out into the countryside?
