Should i buy the Optoma HD67?(I don't have a choice)

I would say this is a mighty fine projector if it is your first entry into projectors and I highly doubt you would have any complaints.
I use VGA and would say this is fine vs HDMI plus the benefit is it leaves you a free HDMI port for another device to plug in to the projector.
For the price of this projector it holds its own so don't worry if you want something that does 2D and 3D you can't beat it.
I have watched Monsters Vs Aliens couple nights ago in 3D and it was fantastic, alot and I mean alot better then any animated 3D films I seen in the theater quality wise.

I can help if you get stuck and the only thing I do different is use the Acer H5360 EDID override monitor.inf which is in one of the posts in these forums to give me the correct sync so I can wear the glasses the correct way up. I am a very happy camper as I only recently discovered this on the weekend, upside down glasses yeh it works and is most part comfortable but doesn't compare to wearing the right way up.

HD67 was meant to be 3D vision ready you are correct there, who knows it still might be down the track but stuff waiting on false hopes with these manufacturers I tell you.

@bullripper
hey, thanks a lot..will order hd66 asap.. and ya i know..optoma had promised a firmware update for one of the previous models but instead went ahead and released a new model, completely forgetting about the previous ones...
and really thanks a lot...forgive me for saying this a lot but i was about to order the H5360 before reading your post...
oh one more thing, is it possible to extend the IR emitter by 35-40 ft(7metres) using a USB to mini USB or a USB extension cable?this is also important as the image will be on the other side of the computer(there is a window behind my PC)..

Well I have some great news, I have just tried HDMI again since I figured out to use the H5360 EID override monitor.inf.
It works, unbelievable am very happy about this as I have an amp that I want to HDMI to then pass through to the projector.

You get more options to in the menu, saturation and tint where as VGA didn't have these options.

Tritosine you make me laugh in a good way dude, just remember some of us don't have choices with these products.
I too was unable to get the H5360 here in Australia so my only choice was get HD66 locally and have peace of mind if any issues or risk overseas purchase and have a fault with it. I got stung last year with the Samsung 2233RZ monitor where the right half of the screen was screwed with a pink colour and dots, major fault. I got it from overseas and had to go through months of pain getting it returned and customs in that country etc it just wasn't worth it.

Yep plug in and install monitor driver and it should be all good.

I can't comment on HDMI to HDMI as I only have DVI ports, I don't see what would be any different though.

The USB extension I only use about a meter extension cord which works fine, I don't think there would be any dramas but you might have to check with someone on these forums that has used a longer extension.

You don't need to use the Vesa cable.

ok thanks a lot man.... just out of curiosity, what are your comp specs and at what settings do you play?
mine are:
Windows 7
AMD athlon 7750 Dual COre Processor 2.70 GHz
4 GB RAM
NVidia GeForce 9800 GT (512mb)
1TB HDD
Creative Sound Blaster Titanium

Currently i'm able to play most of the games on full high. Though this is going to change with 3d vision. Btw, has anybody tried Mass Effect 2 with 3d vision?i'm eager to see if the missiles come out of the screen when fired at you...
