IL2 Battle over Stalingrad DX11.
With the new DX11 version the old 3D bugs returned. After spending most of the day on it I've now got it working using 3DMigoto v1.2.9.0. Again thanks for making these great tools. The only things I think I've lost are the nice God Rays and the Clouds in Water Reflection as I've just skipped rather than fixed the troublesome shaders. The clouds were the main problem but removing the shaders that were messing up seems to have sorted them out nicely. Clouds are the best I've seen especially when a heavy shower passes by. I've used keys F1 for internal and F2 for external covergence/seperation settings. Turn off SSAO. I was worried about how DX11 was going to affect the game in 3D as War Thunder in 3DVision was ruined by the developers when they migrated it. Now that IL2 is fixed for 3D I'm going to start spending again as this game is stunning. I've attached the relevant files for anyone that might need them. They should be unzipped into the IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\bin\game folder. If they check out ok for others rather than just myself perhaps you could put them in the appropriate place and of course fix amend change etc. as appropriate. Here is the link to the files - https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/14510-nvidia-3d-vision-fix/?p=421832

Little chance of finding it cheap and worth a joystick if at all interested. It is as hard or easy as you make it. If you don't know what it is the videos available on their site are well worth a watch. It is more simulator than game and certainly the best looking. Has been developed over many years now.

Yes, I have had this game since its early beta access. Its really blossomed into a great WW2 flight sim. I'll check out your fix. Did you fix some shaders as well as disable? This DX11 version sure boosted the Frame rate by a country mile. I use my old (and I do mean OLD) Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2. FFB joysticks are a rare breed these days but I have had this one for about 18 years or more. Combined with Track IR and my 46 inch TV, this game is brilliant :)

@chitblue Wings of Prey is an old game, but is more arcade/easier than this game and can be set to be played in a more sim mode if you want. It has a demo Or, Ace Combat Assault Horizon basically flies for you. If you want to play this game with a controller, you'd need something like the Steam controller. But for this you'd be better of with a good joystick with twist for rudder control or get rudder pedals. BTW, did you guys see that Logitech bought Saitek from Mad Catz :) Edit: @chitblue, sorry they are broken in 3D. Prey-clouds are 2D, Ace-ground trees/bushes are 2d

Thanks for the suggestion D-Man11. Are those games 3dready because I don't see them on helixmod?

Combined with Track IR and my 46 inch TV, this game is brilliant :)
I'm not good enough to fix shaders as I can't understand what the assembler is doing and where the parameters fed into the shaders are coming from or even refer back to. I got lucky here basically because I was able, by trial and error, to narrow the problem down to 7 shaders from a bigger list by a process of elimination and testing how the shaders interacted. Eventually the only loss was the Godrays which were really nice but even in the DX9 version they looked a bit off in 3D. The water reflection of the clouds was no loss really I just took them out because they just distracted slightly. Like the Godrays in DX9. Your eyes catch little anomalies, I think they were slighly at the wrong depth perhaps. You can find the shaders skipped in the d3dx.ini file and even re-enable them just by removing the ; at the start of the line. I've labelled them but bear in mind that the shaders interact and can cause problems elsewhere. This is where I got lucky. I've noticed how the later 3Dmigoto versions give more and more options for fixing things but a lot of it is way above my paygrade despite the efforts of our gurus. I would dearly love to fix War Thunder as I spent about £2000 on this game only to have the developers ruin it almost overnight about a year ago. I am going to try again using the more advanced features of the tools but I'm pretty much shooting in the dark. I am delighted however to be still able to run the DX11 version of IL2 BOS, BOM(Battle over Moscow) and the soon to be released BOK(Battle over Kuban). The attention to detail and graphical quality is outstanding and absolutely at the leading edge of current gaming technology. I totally agree about the FB2 stick and have about 4 of them as they stopped building them years ago and was worried about finding replacements in the future. However I recently swapped to the Thrustmaster T-16000M. It doesn't have Force Feedback but the accuracy is unbelievable. Great if you fly in competitions i.e War Thunder (starts crying again).

Wings of prey looks great too EXCEPT Skybox sadly makes it very annoying... If somenone could fix it, it could be a very good 3Dvision flying game

"Flying Tigers: Shadows over China" Thanks for that! I missed your post and was wondering about it's 3D just last week. Will pick it up now.
