What version of flash do you guys have installed? I'm also running a 260/w7 x64 in a multi monitor setup, got Crazies in 1080p on the other monitor and a trailer for some random foreign zombie flick on youtube with the other in firefox...and no issue with 3d vision getting kicked on /bloated.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':X' /> i've already said this in the other thread but i only experience this issue with any site that invokes silverlight.
running a 260/w7 x64 in a multi monitor setup
version 10,2,152,26 of Flash plugin as per verification from this page; http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
1.45 CD of nvidia drivers too.
*EDIT*
Interestingly i DO get this but only if i view the video actually on youtube.com! embedded from the horror site i was watching it on i had no trouble /bloated.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':X' />
Just to add to this i find VLC survives screen changes on the monitor better than MPC or some other directshow based player.

While this issue does seem to be Firefox related, it's not confined to youtube. I have the same problem over at Vimeo. I think it may be a flash/firefox/nvidia issue. I also am running dual monitors although they're cloned and only one is on at a time, (projector/lcd panel)
I tested it on Vimeo and saw some similar issues, although not quite as bad as on YouTube:
* On YouTube there are issues simply opening a page that contains a video, but with Vimeo, you need to play the video and set it to full-screen before any 3D Vision problems kick in.
* On Vimeo, when there are multiple monitors enabled and you try to play full-screen, it appears to "give up" and return to the desktop after a short while. On YouTube, I find I need to resort to ALT+F4 to blindly close windows while the display is black.
* On Vimeo, when there is only one monitor enabled and you try to play full-screen, I noticed the Adobe Flash Player seemed to appear behind the Firefox browser window after the display briefly went black. Pressing ALT+TAB brought it to the front and the video played with 3D transmitter active, despite there being no stereoscopic content.
You make a good point, right enough that the issue isn't limited to YouTube, although it does seem to be the worst affected I've seen so far.
Could this even be a problem with the Adobe Flash Plug-In for Firefox, or do we think it's more likely to be the NVIDIA drivers?
If anyone doesn't really care about why this happens etc. then the simple thing is just to switch off 3D Vision unless you specifically want to use it. However, for me I want to find the source of this and get the necessary party to update their driver/player/whatever accordingly. This is almost certainly not desired behaviour and, as such is a bug which should (hopefully) be fixed in a future release.

In Firefox, I have the following add-on:
Shockwave Flash 10.2.152.26
It's interesting you say it only happens on sites that use Silverlight. When I tested this problem eariler, I disabled all add-ons except Flash and visited YouTube.com and still experienced the problem. I'd expect Silverlight was out of the equation with the add-on disabled, although it's possible the server does something else weird when it can't run Silverlight. I wonder.
I also discovered that embedding works but actually visiting youtube.com is the killer. Bizarre, eh? I made a basic hand-written HTML page on my local machine and copied and pasted the "embed" code from youtube. It played fine with no strange 3D Vision problems appearing. It does seem to be something to do with the page itself.
I almost want to compare the HTML produced on the IE page and the Firefox page, but there's a lot of javascript in there making it hard to figure out what exactly would end up on the page.

I've created a post on the Firefox Help forum as well in case anyone there can help troubleshoot this.

I have found another temporary solution using Firefox 4b11.
After you've played a youtube video, aero switched to basic. To get aero back without restarting FF, just kill plugin-container.exe in Task Manager. This turns aero back on /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />.

same problem, have SLI'd GTX285 with 3D Vision, newest drivers installed. Youtube in FF3 (also 4b11) switches off aero. It's quite annoying, I even disabled the 3D Vision installed plugins in FF :(
Any help would be appreciated

Hey, good call. So it does! It even creates a new plugin-container.exe whenever it needs it again afterwards so everything still works.

So i have the same problem. It occured at first by updating 3d vision kit from 1.36 to 1.45. I didn't read everything of your posts but maybe the easiest way to avoid that is to simply plug out your emitter. Of course thats not "the" solution, but normally you really don't need it all the time, unless you really enjoy the green nvidia emblem so much that you can't live without it anymore...

Firefox 3.6.13 & 4b11, latest drivers and flash, single monitor. Win7 x64. Desktop resolution 1680x1050 (mon. Samsung 2233RZ)
Just opening video(even 360p) on youtube switches Aero off. Embedded video on other sites switches Aero off only if I go fullscreen.
IE, Opera, Chrome, Safari - ok.
P.S. looks like disabling hardware acceleration in Flash properties solved problem for me.

....but....that's too simple! <facepalm> Ok, guess I'll do that for now.
EDIT: OK, check that, that workaround sucks. I just tested youtube and while the 3D isn't kicking on any more, all of the videos are tinted red now. And I know it's not the videos cuz I'm looking at ones I'd viewed before. Weird. Plugging the transmitter back in gets rid of the red and brings back the 3D mode, sigh.
Weird that it's Firefox too, I hadn't tried the videos in Chrome until now and I see it doesn't cause the issue. What a pain.

Flash Player 10.2.152.26 is the culprit. You can either downgrade Flash to 10.1.102.64, or disable hardware acceleration through the Flash 10.2 settings (right-click any Flash file and select Settings, then click the first tab and uncheck the acceleration option). You might have to right-click a non-Youtube Flash file to get into the settings with 10.2 (e.g., the Nvidia home page splash screen).
I had the same problem that others described. With 3D Vision plugged in, the 3D mode would always toggle when viewing a video on YouTube. With 3D Vision unplugged, a red overlay appeared over the player on Youtube. Again, disabling hardware acceleration with 10.2 or uninstalling 10.2 and installing 10.1 solves the problem. Hopefully it'll get resolved in the near future, and at the same time I hope Youtube will start supporting integrated 3D Vision content within their videos.

That's an interesting observation. I also tested through a number of versions of the NVIDIA drivers and it only seems to happen with 266.35 or 266.58. I'm currently in discussion with NVIDIA through Customer Help to troubleshoot the problem. They've been able to reproduce it so they're going to try to fix it in the next version of the driver.

After you've played a youtube video, aero switched to basic. To get aero back without restarting FF, just kill plugin-container.exe in Task Manager. This turns aero back on

I have found another temporary solution using Firefox 4b11.

same problem, have SLI'd GTX285 with 3D Vision, newest drivers installed.

THIS WORKED! Thanks :)
It just makes me feel dumb I didn't realize this would work by myself :s

....but....that's too simple!
