Resident Evil 5 is getting Steamworks support, losing 3D vision support.

This thread bump reminded me that I have fixed a shader months ago and didn't publish it. I also tried to change the color of the laser (it's faint red) because I'm colorblind and when it's pointing to the ground it's practically invisible to me :(. I could change the thickness, but I didn't manage to change the color (skipping one shader when hunting makes it white, but disabling the shader manually didn't make that effect).
I'll go back to this and publish what I made soon.

Here is the fix I made: https://www.dropbox.com/s/veoa85lwxv17v20/Resident_Evil_5_3D_fix.7z?dl=0
There are 2 actual fixed shaders there (guts and blood, and the column of light that pickable items emit).
There is also an extra folder called "optional", where you will see 4 folders, each one with a txt file inside. If you want to use those files, place them in the "shaderoverride\pixelshaders" folder, which is empty by default.
The optional files do the following:
- Color filter disable: it disables the yellowish color filter of the game. I didn't make this one. Someone else posted it on the internet years ago, I don't remember where I got it.
- Depth of field disable.
- Heatwave disable: it disables the heat waves in the air that appear at a distance. I prefer not using this because it breaks the immersion.
- Blue weapon laser. I have one type of color blindness which makes me see red colors with less intensity. The weapon laser is faint red by default, and it was difficult for me to see it when it was surrounded by brown colors (like the ground). This mod makes the laser visible for me :).
I'm still not going to publish this in the blog. Because I'm near the start of the game and I don't know if there are more issues that need a fix.
PS: to use the weapons laser in the game with mouse + keyboard, you have to use this mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=423179092

I've fixed a fruits shader (it had the same problem as the other two shaders). The download link should be the same, but just in case: https://www.dropbox.com/s/veoa85lwxv17v20/Resident_Evil_5_3D_fix.7z?dl=0
Fixed a water vertex shader in mission 1-2. Same link again: https://www.dropbox.com/s/veoa85lwxv17v20/Resident_Evil_5_3D_fix.7z?dl=0
Saves from other people don't work (it's tied to the account, it seems), so I have to play the game in its entirety.
Woah, has it really been more than a year?
Since I have a new SSD, I installed the game again and resumed the fix (mostly for the hotkeys). I lost some work on hotkeys that I could do again in minutes, with even more features :). I have recycled the DX9Settings.ini from Saint Seiya, so don't trust some comments there, and there are unused hotkeys for now.
WIP fix: https://s3.amazonaws.com/masterotaku/Resident+Evil+5/Resident_Evil_5_WIP3.7z
F1: high convergence.
F2: low convergence.
F3: HUD depth presets. Screen depth by default.
F5: weapon laser color toggle (aiming is easier for some colorblind people like me. The new optional color isn't the definitive one I'll use).
F6: color filter toggle (finally, I figured out a way to make it a toggle). Not disabled by default.
z: HUD toggle.
I could have posted after tidying things up a bit more, but I wanted to post this in case something dies in my PC again and have it easily downloadable again.

Does that mean that I can get rid of that awfull yellowish tint in the game ?
That and the fix are a great cause to replay this game. Thanks masterotaku.
Nice masterotaku :)

Yes. You could with my previous version of the fix, but it was an optional almost empty shader, so you couldn't change it ingame like now. I prefer it the hotkey way, showing things at their default state with options to disable/change stuff.
I'll make that too for depth of field.
Sorry for taking so long, I have been coming and going for over a year with this game. It's mostly because I chose a high difficulty and died twice or more near the end of the chapter I'm in (Sheva dies all the time). I can't assure the fix is complete until I check the whole game, and online saves can't work. But something good can always come out of it, like the color filter hotkey :).
Edit: almost forgot. With "z" you can toggle the HUD.

No need to be sorry, the game isn't going anywhere, And a DOF toggle will be nice too :)
IMO this game can be pretty hard even on normal ;)
THANKS for your work !
Edit: It came to my mind that I have the Gold edition on disc, is that a problem with your fix ?

F4 to toggle depth of field. It isn't disabled by default.
So now F1 to F6 are used, and also "z". I kept the heatwave effect disabling shader in an optional folder. It's an ingame effect that isn't annoying by itself and I don't want to spend yet another hoykey on that.

You're welcome! And I don't know about your version, I didn't know the Gold edition existed in physical form for PC. I have the Steam version. Try it.
Done, it's on the blog. Get the newest version there, because there are some extra shaders.
i just tried it, it's perfect my dear Masterotaku :)
it's a good surprise for me, i had the game installed. it's very clean. Badly i can't really play using 3DSurround because the game crashes when there is a cutscene (it's due to the game itself), so i let using 3DVision)
