Among the Sleep

I expect helix to come in here and just flip a desk at that statement. Hes had a load of fun times fixing 100's of shaders with updates. It depends on the scale. I think you may be surprised how many shaders need fixing. And you dont want to do it twice especially if its does something different. More often then not every single shader will change even its crc when they make an engine change. Its up to you what you want to do though. Im game almost always and even I wouldnt though. Borderlands 2 was a minor change and I was pissing and moaning. Though it may of been because Ive grown to dislike gearbox *shrug*

Ah, of course - it would suck when there were a huge number of shaders. I was just thinking about L4D2, which seems to only have 3 or 4.

Back on topic here with Among the Sleep, here are some screenshots of the alpha, as best I could dial it. http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/bo3bber/album/51948cd65ec3464b3e0000a5/ There is something odd with convergence, that reminds me very much of Deadlight, where it's assuming and/or setting a specific convergence that we need to match. From across the room, the lamp is broken into multiple images if convergence is set to match the up close items. As you move closer to the lamp it improves. It's like convergence only works within 5 feet of the baby. Odd. Never seen this before. Remember, this is NVidia automatic mode, no profile, and devs don't even know 3D Vision exists at present. I went ahead and backed it. It shows a lot of promise. You have 2 days to decide!

I just loaded it up to take a look with the debugger...and I can't make it work. No matter what I do, the debugger text won't show. The issues also look very similar to the ones seen in Bioshock. Does that mean it's DX10/11?

When shader model 3.0 games came out, people were able to play them on graphic cards that only supported 2.0 by substituting Swiftshader. Is Swiftshader stereoscopic friendly? Could it possibly be used for some games?

No, devs said specifically that it is DX9. Not sure why debugger doesn't load. Eqzitara might have insight, he knows the most about the different dll variants.

The devs did say that, but perhaps the one who said that wasn't up to date with that side of things.

Just played the game, it's unplayable in 3d... It works on 3 screens though. I backed this game jusr for OR support anyway.

It's out, and 3d is fairly broken (unplayably so). Would be great if a fix was possible.

Hi Depite our efforts to encourage Krillbite studio's devs to fix thoses issues, this game came out with broken nvidia 3Dvision in its final release... I think, we guys, are not speaking the LOUD voice at devs's attention. Would be a good step forward if we could express our awaits more, i mean many more of us! So now, last hope for "Among the sleep" relies on Helix's community geniuses now (as too many often)! Here is my first post on Krillbite's forums back in 2013: "I just gave a try at the alpha with 3Dvision and of course playing such game in 3D stereo really reinfoce the feeling of immersion. This game concept looks promising But at this stage of developpement, the pleasure of stereo 3D is broken as many glitches appear: some shadows looks wrong and some glow effects too. Well, I think this can be easily fixed as many games's engines had been patched by talented modders that tweaked some shaders with "d3d9.dll" to make thoses games look perfectly right in 3D. Yes!! ...this is a community of pationate gamers that is doing the fixing that too many developpers disdain to do. This is a shamefull malfonction of standart game industry. I hope you guys, independant and talented studio are more aware of what path you have to choose to meet your full audience. 3D stereo is not just a gadget or a secondary option in this kind of FP game: 3D stereo is written in DNA of every first-person-view's games, that's obviousness ! I mean that sujective view is meant to embody you in a virtual world. With 3D display, you can feel much more incarned in that character, making you forget you are looking at a screen and rather experience something more natural and organic. It really enhance your game experience, you can feel vulnerability. Many efforts of the developpers already go in that way as the body of the baby already interacts with everything in the alpha demo. So I hope, you developpers will consider this issue very seriously." Yeah, a fix for this game would be worth it before oculus comes out! (if possible) Cheers!
