Modifying 3D Vision to support SBS
Thank you for the feedback. Call you tell us more about your setup? You tried 3D with a remote client right? I mean by that, your PC server somewhere, and your client connected on a 3D display elsewhere thanks to the network right? Did you tried a game without the need to have a mouse tracking? Curious to check if with games played with a controller it's fine or not.
Maybe I should have been clearer. No remote client or network. I just meant that I tried the SBS/T&B fix with that game on a projector but it caused the mouse tracking to be messed up.

Eqzitara you are replying to me? I was thinking like this schema: 1) PC server with 3DTV in checkerboard mode => 2) Game running in SBS or T&B => 3) Access to the streaming with Moonlight or Nvidia shield on a 3D display we put in the correct 3D format But finally i'm totally wrong no? This idea will just result in a source video is it that? There is no way to convert this source video into a true 3D format? Helifax seems to made it on twitch here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/813363/3d-vision/guide-how-to-record-3d-vision-stereo-videos-over-twitch-tv-and-how-to-watch-them- Nobody is interested on this crazy project lol? Your not going to get it to work unless You use a 3D TV edid override [to make it think its a 3d tv] 3d tv play. Otherwise 3d vision will treat your display like a monitor and monitors dont support checkerboard

I'm already fine with 3DTV play ;). I bought the 3DTV licence, they merit this money. Other people can still use EDID override to make the trick too :). Now it seems that the main problem is how to exploit the signal of the stream no? The step 3 i told isn't so easy and plug and play finally or i dream? I mean by that, using a client (Moonlight / Nvidia Shield) on a 3D capable display (where we choose the 3D format mode) isn't enought right? Windows Nvidia 3D vision software on the client is a must go? Anyone can give some details about this please? I hope i'm not off topic. If it's the case tell me please to not pollut this topic.

Just found this thread and read all discussions. I tried the latest 3DMigoto and I almost achieve my ultimate goal. Just one step away from the final result. What I want to do is to optimize my current VR rendering path. Originally I am playing racing simulator by mobile phone VR headset, using: Game (Assetto Corsa) -> TriDef 3D -> Moonlight -> TrinusVR I want to replace TriDef 3D with 3DMigoto as native 3D Vision should provide better result. I enabled 3D Vision with "Optimized for Nvidia Geforce" EDID, then first try to enable SBS on PC screen first. It works without any problem! (but the game will be in 2D when load into the circuit, it is not in SBS by default, need to manual press Ctrl-T). Then I tried: Game (Assetto Corsa) with 3DMigoto -> Moonlight -> TrinusVR and Game (Assetto Corsa) with 3DMigoto -> Moonlight I found that as long as the game passthrough Moonlight (activated by Nvidia GameStream), I cannot use Ctrl-T to activate 3D Vision. (when I press Ctrl-T, the game can response and enable/disable Traction Control). So may I ask if I can restore Ctrl-T under GameStream mode? Or anyway to force SBS kick in when the game started to render 3D without the need to manual input Ctrl-T by PC's side keyboard? Thanks a lot!
People owning a GearVR and TrinusVR, rejoice! :) With DarkStarSword's SBS/T&B fix, experiencing PC games in stereoscopic VR on your mobile is no more a dream! This is how legends are born. Thank you DSS!
I have a Samsung Gear VR headset and I would like to play my 3D-vision games on this device (especially Assetto Corsa ;-)). Does this really work good on this device (no need for an Oculus Rift?)? I mean: Can you play for example Assetto Corsa with 60 FPS in 1080p (like on 3D-monitor) but watched in GEAR-VR and does the headmovement of the GEAR-VR work like the TrackIR works on my monitor? If the answer is yes: Is there a short "guide for dummys" how to do so? Normally I display all my 3D vision games on 3D-monitors and for headtracking I use Track-IR. I can also use 3D-vision-fixes from helixmod-site (copy the files into the game-directory ;-)) but my knowledge doesn't go far beyond these things. So I fear that it might be difficult for someone who is not in IT-business? (Setting up Servers, IP-adresses, adjust Firewalls, convert to SBS or TB?) What I've already tried so far: - Installed "TrinusVR" software on my PC - Installed "TrinusVR light" software on my Samsung S6 mobile phone - Installed "Package disabler pro" on my Samsung S6 and deactivated "Gear VR Services" - I can already stream the 2D-picture of my monitor via WLAN to my GEAR-VR (at least I tried with the game "Castle of Illusion - Mickey Mouse" (started in windowed mode) but got messages like "resolution is not okay" and I had extreme lagging and very low framerate (7 fps)... But here my knowledge ends. What else must I do to be able to play Assetto Corsa (or other games) on my PC in 3D-vision (I don't have 3D TV play, only the normal 3D vision for 3D-monitors) but watch it on my GEAR-VR instead of my 3D-monitors? Sorry for noob questions but I tried to read through the last 15 pages but I have no clue. If someone could explain step by step what to do it would make me happy. And I don't want to "destroy" my 3D-vision games (by copying or changing files) so that they will only work on GEAR-VR from now on and not on my 3D-monitors anymore. I just want to try it on GEAR VR but then I want to be able to play in normal 3D-vision on my monitors again... Sorry, you 3D-vision-pro's must think I'm a total idiot/noob...

YES TrinusVR can help you to play Assetto with head tracking but NO it is really not easier to setup as not much fellow did so and very scattered info can be found. I tested for 3 nights the "yet optimized combination". as posted on my previous post above, I was using Game (Assetto Corsa) -> TriDef 3D -> Moonlight -> TrinusVR Using Moonlight in the middle sounds silly but it can enhance graphic quality (TrinusVR's built in rendering is not good) For head tracking, TrinusVR's built in TrackIR is not working for quite some time. I need to use OpenTrack (PC) + FreePie IMU apk to get it work. But if you have the Track-IR hardware, may be you don't need to trouble with OpenTrack I suppose? Hope this can help~

Steam are releasing virtual desktop this month that allows you to use the oculus rift and HTC vive as a monitor for your desktop. It says it's supports 3D SBS... http://store.steampowered.com/app/382110/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_3 Scroll down to 'about this software' Does this mean we can get all the 3D vision game fixes working in VR? EDIT: Holy shit!! Check the photos out of the steaks virtual desktop on the link in this post. It's shows the 3D options. One is 3D SBS and one 3D SBS Distorted! I hope this means what I think it means!

Not really or at least doubtful. It most likely can't really split frame packed 3D which is what 3D vision uses then reconvert to side by side. The fact that it goes out of its way to specify side by side 3D video support makes it even more doubtful. It MIGHT be able to split side by side mode which is what Darkstarsword has started adding support into games BUT... Vorpx already allows this so its not a big deal. ------------------------ TBH alot of people are making a big deal of this but virtual desktop has been around since DK1. This is just alot more refined.

Eqzitara, you certainly have a way of managing expectations! :D So the SBS mode the community got working with 3DTV Play won't work with VR? that's disappointing. I thought this was it, no need for vorpx, oh well.

Game now looks great!! So, if anyone have issues with SBS or TB mode using 3Dmigoto in a particular game...worth the try testing using hooking method (hook=recommended).

It was according to a few people on a reddit post. So not really 100% credible. Since the feature could of been taken out or whatever in a year. Its a lot more streamlined. https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/2kq7pg/sbs_content_now_supported_in_virtual_desktop/

If anyone needs to use the SBS method for 3dmigoto and HAS AN EMITTER. Unplug emitter. Download 3d tv play. Install 3D tv play. Replug emitter. Its okay if 3d tv play expires. Mine just did. It gives the checkerboard feature.
