Will Silent Hunter 5 be compatible w/ 3D Vision?
I was considering purchasing Silent Hunter 5 next month when it is released. I haven't been able to find out any information on its compatibility or lack of compatibility with 3D Vision. Has anyone here heard one way or the other?

Thanks in advance.

Sadly its a No. Activating 3D justs makes the screen go blank. Still a great game though...

No, doesn't work.
The screen goes black, when you turn the wheel on the IR emitter and turn separation to 0% you can see the 2 images coming from left to right in the screen.

This sunday a lot of people where unable to play SH5 and assassins creed 2, due to UBIs DRM servers which couldn't take the load. I hate their DRM.

Well, actually the problem is with the default convergence not good for this game. It can be improved however and with a little tweaking it can present good results in stereoscopic 3D. I'll post a custom convergence profile I prepared for the game in a bit so stay tuned ;)

Here are the custom convergence files, just double click on the reg depending on your OS: http://3dvision-blog.com/wp-content/files/...ce-settings.zip

Also you should disable the Environmental Effects for best results as they create some weird visual defects in stereo 3D, for example in the water waves around the submarine. Please let me know how these work for you, also have in mind that it seems in the cutscenes the stereoscopic 3D effect is gone (although they do not seem to be pre-rendered movies?!), but after they end it is back again.

Thanks for the tip.
To bad that disabling env effects, takes away so much from the beauty of the sim, I think I prefer 2D with env effects.

In reviews often the simulation of the water is praised to be one of the best You can find in games. What kind of water effects do You loose if You have to turn off Environmental Effects? It is very interesting to me as the presentation of the sea would be an important feature to me...

Well the only issue I've noticed with environmental effects enabled was in the water around the submarine when you are outside and looking at the front, if you can live with that you can leave it enabled... it is nothing serious. Also shadows may be a bit of an issue inside the submarine, but then again nothing so serious so you don't necessarily have to lower them or disable completely.

Thanks for the registry tweak it worked a treat! /thanks.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thanks:' />

Was disappointed when the 3D stopped working after the latest patch and I couldn't get it to work again. /blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

The game looks awesome in 3D!

Also thanks for your review of the Planar SA2311W. I bought one from Speed3d.co.uk and it solved my ghosting and sync issues.

I had tried a CRT (Iiyama Pro 514) which was good and two LCD's (Benq XL2410T and Asus VG236H) not so good prior to buying the Planar.

Any chance you could figure out why IL2 Cliffs of Dover wont work in 3D? /unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

The lastest beta introduced Full screen Anti-Aliasing but it still doesn't work. /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
