No improvement in Quake4, however Porsche Unleashed and Quake engine-based games don't crash, I guess that's a plus :)

Are you sure?!? /fear.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':fear:' />

I had super slow speed in the Quake 4 demo, and with this release, it was full speed ahead.

What type of videocard are you using?

It's funny. I was expecting the boards to go crazy when the word was out about the 91.28 driver - but it's dead quiet.

At first I thought it wasn't popular - but then it occurred to me:

Everyone is busy playing their games!

Chopper

I did go crazy for a while. But after the initial excitement, disappointment followed... again. I get very good results with games such as WoW and UT2003 (improvement over 82.12 drivers).

But I still get a hard lock when I try to enable Oblivion in stereo 3D, and like before I get a hard lock after I´ve enabled stereo 3D in HL2 and I´ve started moving. These drivers SHOULD support my 7900 GS card (according to 91.28 release notes), but I guess they don´t. I hope the final version will be ok...

I have been super pleased with this driver set.

They are by no means perfect, but they have been the best combo for me so far.

The biggest error I could find is not being able to get into Klingon Academy. I think it's a forceware issue - not stereo.

I came up with this suggestion before, but it wasn't really adopted by the group.

I gather that the stereo deveopment team is not the biggest priority - but they are hard at work nonetheless.

Do you think it would be helpful for us to put an itemized bug list for them to review?

We can build a bug thread, and an easy to read final summary can be submitted.

It might make it easier for their programming team to identify and prioritize the problems.

Some screenshots can be tied to the messages in the thread, complete with system specs for each error.

Chopper

Sounds like a great idea. You can put the problems I encountered in the list.

Well, I have a 2,1GHZ 32-bit processor, 1gb of Ram and a 256mb 6800Gt graphics card.
I'm not so sure about the performance issues with Quake4, but I'm defiantely not getting the shadows dispalyed correctly, with or without the 3d settings which I used for 78.01 driver set it still doesn't matter.
Probably if I turn off the shadows everything will be perfect, however playing a doom3 engine-based game is not about playing without shadows, right .

I just found out that I get the same problem with Far Cry as I do with Oblivion and HL2: The pc hard locks when I enable stereo.

Guru3d does not work with download managers.

I normally use Firefox, but when I download from Guru3d, I use Explorer.

That should help.

No joy here with the new drivers, either..

The drivers have to absolutely work with the two follow games for me to continue using them:

Morrowind
Roller Coaster Tycoon 3

Morrowind locks up (though the music keeps playing and other system processes seem to continue running) when the game loads geometry from the hard drive. I have to do a hard reset in order to get out since the keyboard and numlock are locked up). Even turning on full compatibility in the stereo drivers options doesn't help.

Didn't get around to testing RCT3 yet.

If the drivers worked with RCT3, B&W2, and Oblivion, then maybe I could use them once I finish Morrowind. But until then, I'm stuck with the 78.01's as those are the last drivers that actually work with Morrowind. (And of course nothing works with Oblivion and B&W2). It's strange that all these new drivers break the games that used to work with 78.01.

Quake 2 finally works with these new drivers, however.

My specs: Athlon X2 3800+, eVGA N41 SLI mobo, a single eVGA 7800GT, 1gig RAM, 3 HD's each on the SATA buses, 1 DVD-RW on one PATA, 1 CD-RW on the other PATA, Windows XP Pro.

Hey Dudes, I'm getting only lock-ups with this new driver.
When I start the Test app in the nVidia control panel i get a blue screen of death.
I reinstalled all drivers and removed old (82.12) drivers in Safe mode.

These new drivers lock up on everything I do with it??

Im playing BF2 and used 82.12 and they worked ok, but they don't support the new 7900 GTX cards wich I want to buy if this stereo stuff works ok... So I just should drop dead then?

Laterz, peeps.
