Not sure what that will do. It seems if the pj was going to offer me a 16:9 option, it likely shouldn't matter what signal it gets. So do you now have the projector showing up in 3D Vision (and device manager) as PJD6531w? I would really like to get this working in the proper aspect..
My (win7) device manager shows Generic PnP display driver, Viewsonic driver did not work for me!
In my projector menu I don't see 16:9 but it works from network control panel. I gues they screw up software for menu, but they can still streem setup data from network...
I sugest to clean up your dispay registry data, just search and delete manually the whole block as below
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\DISPLAY]
-reboot your PC and let windows install generic driver, best method is use RGB connctor connected to projector with modified adapter with removed 2 pins for EDID data, so projector will not write any data to registry when installs generic driver.
Then reboot PC switching to HDMI, during first boot, projetor writes to registry 2 EDID blocks which enabled 16:9 aspect controlled only from network, this souds wired, but it works!
I'm not sure if this step is neccesery but this is what I did...
You coud also try simly copy my registy (from last post) to text fille rename to display.reg and run, if you have generic driver alredy instaled.

If the projector receives a signal from a computer than most likely you can achive 19:9. From other sources than a computer than only 19:10. I brought this projector because on Viewsonic website it say that it can show 16:9 without scaling. From DVD player or tuner only 19:10. Now I am stuck with this white elephant. Maybe a firmware update can fix this but not likely.

My concern is that by using a generic driver, 3D Vision may not recognize the projector as 3D Ready. I once got it to run at 1280x800@120Hz, but the ghosting was too much.

I'm using generic driver with res 1280x720 120hz with " absolutly zero" gosting. I was playing with RGB and moded connector before , and got it working 1280x800 with very poor result, I had unstable (flickering) picture and excessive gosting, this was when I had Viewsonic driver installed...
This projetor is designed and works best in 3D mode with res 1280X720x120hz. Viewsonic Monitor driver has more to do with color profile setup, beside does not give you proper aspect ratio!

Wahim, so you have 3d mode working fine 1280x720x120hz using win7 generic plug n play driver? Are you inputting HDMI into your projector or vga(with the pin hack trick)?

I'd really like to get this to work, if it works. There has to be something else to it...

So I gave this another go. I deleted the registry block, removed the driver, rebooted with VGA to a pin-disabled DVI adapter.
Windows added the PJ as a Generic Non-PNP device. I reconnected HDMI and rebooted, still not there. I tried importing your registry keys, which took, but didn't seem to do it.
I'd really like to get this to work, if it works. There has to be something else to it...
Thanks for any reply!!!
