3DVision CRT compatibility on newest drivers why there is no mention of CRTs on Nvidia site?
here http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-requirements.html should be information that CRT that are capable of 120Hz are supported (like it always been) but instead of this there is list of some "certified" monitors and no mention of crt whatsoever /unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
so... should I buy 3DVision for my Sony 24" CRT or should I not? It's quite expensive hardware to have with old drivers and without further support for new games /fear.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':fear:' />

My Sony FW900 still works impeccably with 3D Vision and the latest drivers. Overall I am getting less ghosting with it than all 3D Vision ready LCDs I tried in comparison.
But some registry tweaks should be made to get it working 100%

The only reason CRT ghosts is the cheap mass produced green phosphor recipe from 1960's, they started to make green phosphor without cadmium -
we lost deep greens, and afterglow issue arised.
You can bet military and tech institutes had special order phosphors, even broadcasters had a set of different phosphors.

3D Vision works fine on my Diamond Pro 2070. Slight bit of ghosting but I can live with it.

CRT are not supported anymore with new driver revisions !
I have a GTX580 and IR glasses. When I lanuch the setup wizard, the software asks to connect
the IR emitter, ok and then it asks to connect the 3pins vesa cable. This cable is only for
DLP video projectors. As the CRT are not supported, I think the wizard guess I must have a DLP
as no LCD screen is connected !
I have post this issue to the nVidia support. Here is the official answer :
"3D Vision is supported with the CRT monitors only using the older 3D Vision drivers and
unfortunately they are not supported by the GeForce GTX 580 cards"
So, issue is closed : CRT are only usable with some old drivers version. These old versions do
not support GTX580 cards. In following driver revision, nVidia decided to drop support for CRT.
Thanks to nVidia ! I just have to buy a 120Hz LCD. Nice except for 16/9 and TN /bloated.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':X' />
No 16/10 (don't dream about 4/3) and no PVA/MVA or IPS. Hard choice.
The newest beta (Sep 26) still supports "Generic CRT" and "Generic DLP" beside "Discovery".
Many customers still rely on this modes (like me), so I think and hope nVidia will not remove them since it would make 3D Vision useless for my equipment.
