3D Vision crashes when enabled GTX580 with Acer HN274H
I purchased an Acer HN274H to pair with a GTX 580. I can run 120Hz at 1080p, and the monitor looks great (I'm getting 120fps in a few games like Bioshock 2). When I attempt to enable Stereoscopic 3D or run the Setup Wizard, my monitor flickers a few times and the program crashes with "GeForce 3D Vision Wizard has stopped working." I've tried to do a clean install of the GeForce drivers (and I upgraded today, so I've tried two versions). I've also tried to set the monitor to 60Hz.
I searched the with a few different options, but I can't find anyone that has the program crash when the checkbox is clicked...

System:
i7 860
GTX 580 w/285.62
Acer HN274H w/Acer driver 1.0.0.0
Turtle Beach Montego (for 5.1 Optical Output)
Windows 7 64bit
Secondary Dell monitor
The windows Event Viewer shows the following:
Faulting application name: nvstwiz.exe, version: 7.17.12.8562, time stamp: 0x4e991eff
Faulting module name: nvd3dum.dll, version: 8.17.12.8562, time stamp: 0x4e992849
I've tried:
Disconnecting and uninstalling my second monitor + reboot
Uninstalling the Acer driver + reboot
Backing all settings down to the native resolutions
I am unable to try HDMI because the HDMI socket on the 580 is too far towards the edge for a cable to fit (Corsair 650d).

Hi
I'm running pretty much the exact same PC as you and do not have problems.
I am suspicious of two things:
1) Do not connect that second monitor
2) Do not install an Acer monitor driver.
Try either of those and let me know what happens.
[/quote]
I've got my secondar monitor disconnected and uninstalled. I also uninstalled the Acer driver. I uninstalled W7 Service Pack 1 (someone else had an issue with it in another post). Once that was uninstalled, I was able to use the 3D test screens (looked pretty impressive). I then reinstalled SP1, and it now crashes again...

Hi
There may be a conflict somewhere else in your system. I run SP1 and have no issues.
Can you make sure you are doing a clean driver install? I am suspicious that SP1 is trying to install a GeForce driver behind your back.

Yes, I've been doing a clean install of the GPU drivers each time. Latest thing I attempted was to downgrade to 280.26 (clean install), it didn't work, so I've gone back to 285.62 (clean install). I'm also back to the Generic PnP Monitor driver, I uninstalled and removed the Acer driver.
I don't have anything unusual on my system. The only other card is a Turtle Beach Montego.
Unfortunately I don't have time to do a clean installation before Skyrim comes out tomorrow, that will have to wait a couple weeks. I'm out of ideas. I don't want to run without SP1.

Try disabling the Turtle Beach card for now from the Windows Device Manager. That won't force you to do a driver install or anything.
