Freezing, then having to reboot computer. This sucks.
Ok, I could tolerate it 10-15 times, but this bug is NOT intermittent.
Here is exactly what I'm doing:
1. Start Mass Effect
2. As soon as I load my game I press Shift E to turn on the 3D.
3. Freeze
I use the button on the emitter, same thing.
This doesn't always happen, but it happens enough where it's just driving me nuts now.
DEVELOPERS:
1. When communicating with hardware, always make sure there is a timeout, if so can you tell me what it is? Maybe I'm supposed to wait like 60-120 seconds for it to unfreeze?
2. Make sure all your functions/method are encapsulated by a try catch
Hopefully this gets fixed soon. I develop software for a living and if I let a BSOD/Freeze go through I'd be fired.

Uncheck the "Disable 3D when game start" type setting and try again.. I dont get that error on mass effect.
Also be sure to disable 3d crosshair by default.. This worked for me in Half Life 2...

I'll try that, if the problem persists I probably have to reinstall windows.... *sigh* :P
