Configure 3D Vision precisely
Hi everyone, I'm trying to understand how the NVidia 3D Vision driver works. I have a project in Unity3D and would like to control, or at least understand, the settings for depth and convergence so I can create an optimal scene for stereoscopic viewing. What do the values for "StereoSeparation", "StereoConvergence", "StereoSeparationAdjustLess", "StereoSeparationAdjustMore" or "MonitorSize" in the registry mean for example? The values for "StereoSeparation" is the Depth from 0 to 100 percent. That I understand. But what actual value would that be? Interaxial distance from 0 to 6 cm or something? The values for "StereoConvergence" seem to range from 1.000.000.000 when convergence is set to match an object at 0 distance to the camera, to somewhere around 1.240.000.000 when it's set to match an object with infinite distance to the camera. The value for "MonitorSize" is fixed at 34, and I can't change it. That value makes no sense either for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rob
Hi everyone,

I'm trying to understand how the NVidia 3D Vision driver works.

The value for "MonitorSize" is fixed at 34, and I can't change it. That value makes no sense either for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

So the MonitorSize value is twice the real world size. Thanks. What about the other entries in the registry, like "StereoConvergence" for example?

[quote="MrWilde"]So the MonitorSize value is twice the real world size. Thanks. I really don't know much about this stuff, I only knew about this MonitorSize value because of the depth hack so I can't really help you further. I suggest you find some info on registry editing, that might help you understand better what all these different values actually mean and how they could be edited.
