Max Payne 3 crashing in 3d
  4 / 4
this really sucks, that game was awesome, i've finished it already, and loved it, unfortunelly i had to do it in 2D... that is really the problems with 3D Gaming... they release a game, and if you really like it, you will probably have to play it in 2D, only in a near future (sometimes never) 3D will be working...

OFFTOPIC: BY the way anyone else noticed that the framerate count in that game using Msi Afterburner/EVGA precision is totally wrong? when the game is at 70/80 fps the framerate count is at 350 lol.

How do you know that the game is actually running at 70/80 fps?

ok 3D crashes so much for me.. this is awful. Lol is this another "Made for 3D"? You know its reasons like this more and more are pulling away from NV 3Dvision. They POST/SAY one thing yet we the public suffer with the problems. Did ANYONE test this 3d before launch? Not that hard to do. And yes some of us to test. Takes time but in the END it pays off. So if you want this game for 3D DONT BUY it.

Sad but true :(. I bought a GTX 680 to get the best 3D Vision Gaming expirience, but instead i am waiting for nvidia to release a bugfix driver... day after day :(.

Try out the 302.80 driver (for Windows 8, but seems to work without problems on Windows 7). It did fix the crashes for me. Battlefield 3 no crashes as well.

No game is perfect in stereoscopic 3D, and there are bugs/glitches here and there, imho, but i have completed max payne 3 in stereoscopic 3d, and i'm sure others have as well. i'm doing another play through right now on hardcore difficulty in stereoscopic 3D, my only gripes are the odd render effects here and there, although i have noticed a blank screen with sound in the back ground once, and a couple of times i noticed weird graphical glitches. You could try deleting the graphics xml file from within the Rockstars Game folder in your documents folder, this will reset the games video settings, there were a cfew times i was messing around with the in game video settings on the fly which caused a lock up. But, imho ithink max payne 3 is one of the best i have played in 3D. Battlefield 3, Crysis 2 and other games have no real stereoscopic 3D depth to the scenes and levels often appear quite flat and lack any real 3D depth, well, this is what i have noticed. I'm using a GTX 580 1.5 gb with the latest whql driver.

Has anyone with a GeForce 6xxx series gpu completed max payne 3 in stereoscopic 3D?

well, can't you fell the game framerate? well i have a 120hz display and i know when a game is running at 120fps certainly that was not a case, 60fps is also very different, so it was something between that, like 70/80...

can't you measure the aproximate framerate by the game flow?

well i do and i know maxpayne framerate is totally overestimated by afterburner/precision on my computer (GTX 680) and also my brother computer (560ti)both the fps count is totally wrong.

i did some testing using 8x multisampling and the fps really droped down to lower than 30 fps and the evga precision was showing 69 fps lol.

i didn't completed it in 3D because the 3D is crashing the game to me, 10 minutes of gameplay and the display drivers crash...

a lot of people is having this same issue. you are lucky that you don't i know the game is working good in 3D but after some time it crashes, that was the reason for me not to finish it in 3D, but i did finished it in 2D, awesome game by the way.

I can confirm that the 3D crash issues on GTX-6x0 cards have 100% been fixed in the new beta driver 304.48.
Played through chapter 2 and 3 without a single crash now (all settings to max, MSAA off and use of SSA0), that was really epic.

There are only some minor 3D issues in the game remaining (e.g. face shadows in cutscenes) that hopefully get fixed in a game patch.

im not finding that....i just used the new betas and made it past the original crash point (beginning of the nightclub shootout) only to have a crash shortly after making it through the kitchen area. And also it is very annoying that convergence resets after EVERY cutscene (and they happen a lot)

awesome but too late, xD already finished the game and the story was the main point to me, but good work to nvidia btw.

those drivers are awesome, a lot of fps increased in tons of games, specially when 3D Vision is on, in comparison to the 301.42 that i was using before

Hm, I don't have neither problem with the new drivers any more. Totally fixed both problems for me (GTX-690)
