Dead Island in 3D Stereoscopic 3D Game Play Preview -1920x1080
Ever since watching that announcement trailer (HERE), I have been itching to play this game. Well, it has finally come out and unfortunatley it is one of the few games that do not work that weill with 3D Vision just yet. There will, no doubt be another update sooner or later that will help.

In the mean time, I found the game to be very playable using Tridef's 'Virtual 3D Mode'. Trials for the software can be found in the 3Dizzy forums.

In the mean time, have a look at some Dead Island in 3D here:

Smooth streaming, Review and 3D Screenshots on the way....

I concur this game does look pretty decent in 3D. Totally playable and not like Dead Space 2 at all

I can't get tridef to run with my alienware monitor. Are these drivers compatible at all with 3dvision?

In order to play using tridef you need to deactivate 3d-vision. Run the tridef driver in one of the compatible outputmodes for the alienware.
On an extra note: The virtual 3d-mode of the tridef drivers is a somewhat decent substitute in case the usual brute-force 3d (like 3d-vision and other 2-view forcing renderer are) doesn't work too good. It's a bit off the real experience though.

I tried several of the output modes and none of them worked. I lurked on their forums, it seems the alienware is not a compatible display :(

I disagree. It makes the game have more 3D objects and the shadows are automatically fixed. This mode is awesome! And I wish 3D Vision had such a mode. It would make playing games with no profile so much better.
