Does anyone know where convergence values are now stored/how to change them without starting game?
1 / 2
Edit found it:
Open nvidia inspector. Find the game's profile you want to change value. Like Mass Effect 2
Look for this entry.
Setting ID_0x708db8c5
Go to http://gregstoll.dyndns.org/~gregstoll/floattohex/
Change hex value to float. Paste float value in column next to it.
I needed it for playing with googleearth profile, will unlock it as well. This is probably useless to most. Im just playing around with something. Not sure if it will pay off yet.

This might help, I've never messed with it after it became part of SLI profiles
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/517181/3d-vision/3d-vision-profiles-with-latest-3xx-beta/
@pbareges:<br>
Thank You for that interesting information!<br>
With older drivers I used Nvidia Inspector to remove/add exe-files from profiles to prevent or force 3DVision to use a certain profile when I started a game - with no success. Changing the entries for the exe files didn't seem to have any effect on the profile 3DVision used.<br>
Now I tried the Geforce SLI profile tool in combination with the 301.42 driver: removing/adding exe-files now seems to influence the 3DVision profile <img src="'http://forums.nvidia.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#">/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':smile:' /> <br>
So I managed to remove the convergence lock for Google Earth:<br>
I exported the SLI profiles with the profile tool and made following changes:<br>
profile "Aion"
....
Executable "googleearth.exe"
Profile "Google Earth"
....
Executable "xxxgoogleearth.exe" Name="xxxGoogle Earth"
<br>
I have decided to add googleearth to the Aion profile as this enables S3D also in windowed mode. Changing googleearth.exe to xxxgoogleearth.exe in the Google Earth profile simply prevents the exe file from being recognized by the Google Earth profile. Maybe removing it could work, too.<br>
Then I reimported the changed profiles.<br>
When I start Google Earth it is now handled like Aion and the convergence lock is removed!<br>
I also added singles2.exe to the Aion profile and I can run this game with S3D in windowed mode (without renaming it's exe to aion.exe as I had to do before).<br>
Adding BinaryDomain.exe to the Mass Effect 3 profile changed the profile from "unknown" (and not working) to "Mass Effect 3" (less issues).<br>
So if You can't change the exe name of the exe file (because of Steam/Origin or using a trainer) now editing the profiles allows to combine the game with any 3DVision profile You want.<br>
I didn't try to use the new Nvidia Inspector version to add/remove the exe files from a profile but I think it should work, too.<br>
<br>
Regarding Google Earth some hints:<br>
- if the hotkeys for convergence don't seem to work drag the globe with pressed left mouse button while using the hotkeys<br>
- I would recommend to set depth to 5% and increase convergence to get depth perception. With higher depth values You won't be able to zoom in as lowering the convergence causes a left/right swap at a certain value.
Save this as Google Earth.nip and import it using NVIDIA Inspector.

Its fine I figured it out. I wrote details. I converted all profiles to text. Played a game/saved new value and converted all to text and found the value that changed. I thought it would be much harder.
Ill let you know if what I'm trying works out. Would be very interesting.

in nvidia inspector. Change value next to it. Tbh can change it to whatever. I edit my topic before either replied lol. I appreciate the help though.
But if anyone wants to try games you may be surprised with results with minimal depth/convergence on some games that were normally not 3d.

Im not gonna chase down each game but its worth a shot if you got one.
It effects nothing besides googleearth.exe or if you cant save a convergence value in a game. All games are convergence locked in the exe and if its a renderer it doesnt matter. If its convergence locked you just use chiri's tool regardless. It might effect what I am testing but nothing else pretty much.
If you know of any "2D" game it can make it 3dish in some games[hard to explain]. It may work in games like that one as well but thats only use you will get out of it.

It worked with Capsized, I just haven't had the time to do any comparisons, locked GE profile @ low depth VS unlocked GE profile @ normal depth, to see the difference between layers.

Google earth is too random to work when its not unlocked. Normally if you use it, game looks busted. You really need to balance it for it to work. Like Elysium Tales looks completely busted. Only reason I knew that unlocking would work is cause difference of depth"planes". Thats cool about Capsized, if you decide to play it again I'd love to see a screenshot. Sadly I dont think many people will bother reading about this/ bothering. These games are just a few "seperate" planes pretty much. So while its very little depth it make a bit of a difference. Not to mention its actually pretty simple imo.

I like them, it's a shame there's not more layers like Rayman: Origins, but hey even a little depth on a 2D game goes a long way, to me anyway.
I've been messing around with profiles, here and there when I can ... mostly out of curiosity, I made a AHK script to manually export every one of them as .nips ... there's 2800+ of them, a little over 1800 of them have that 'convergence' setting, even using the script it took just over an hour to export all 2800+ of the profiles. Lol.

LOL, I guess I cant judge because I do tons of weird testing. [Some of which pays off]
TBH, I realized it works when I saw that video of SNES 3D emulator [BTW whoever linked it, thats not Oculus rift related. It only works on interlaced displays though]. Its same thing pretty much and they are both extremely hit/miss.
I have a feeling if Serious Sam Double D doesn't work in normal 3D, it will by this method if anyone is interested. The ad was funny but game looked real meh.

I tried it on Hell Yeah, it works but unfortunately there are no layers in the gameplay area. The HUD, dialogs, and a few other things are separate and look good but the characters, level, and background are all on one layer, it's a shame. Makes me wonder how hard it would actually be for the DEV to fix it, not that they would but still makes me wonder.

Yea, I actually saw it too and thought it would work. I ran into a weird profile by accident. If you want to try it for shits and giggles. Try gibberish.exe. I wanted a default profile in a game so I just did that and it forced everything into max depth. It was really bizzare. Im not sure if its attached to any games or is just a test or what.
Im not really sure how it works tbh. I think it relies on games Z data only. So as long as game has Z data something should happen.

They must have removed it, there's no profile for gibberish.
I've have seen some really odd names in there, like [Profile "The Tickle People"] and [Profile "Psychadelikon"]
Yeah your right. Gibberish is what I use just for a generic profile [When I dont want to worry about sli or any info on games]
Temp.exe is what I was thinking of. Its says it belongs Nibbles 3D? But in 3D games It always forces it on all same plane. I havent tried it but it may be similiar to googleearth.
