To nVidia: OpenGL Support? Coming Soon?
  1 / 2
OK, I admit, I want to play IL-2: 1946 in Stereo 3D! /yes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I can play it with the iZ3D drivers in DX8 anaglyph mode but I have been spoiled by the 3D Vision experience. Since you already have OpenGL quad buffered stereo support, I don't think it would take much to add standard OpenGL support for all of our OpenGL based games.

I hope someone at nVidia reads my suggestion. Thanks for listening! /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Second that.
I've been begging Nvidia for OpenGL support for 3DVision since the beginning but it feels like water on a duck's head ...it beads and rolls off.

Anyway, it's good news that the iZ3D works in DX8, I wonder why the 3DVision driver doesn't also work in DX8? Did you try?

Man I have been waiting for this for the longest. All I want is to see the Dawn Ultra Nvidia demo in stereo 3D (I've got the... erm... patch).

Nvidia why don't your own demos work with 3D Vision? Come on now.

I want to play X-plane (only works in opengl), IL-2, and Blade of darkness (only playable in opengl using windows vista).

Also doom 3 and the expansion, supported very well by the nvidia driver in the past.

Add me to the list of people who BOUGHT this very expensive product with an eye to opengl support, which Nvidia stated would be available sometime last spring, if I recall my reading correctly.

It's almost November. What I don't get is that opengl support was damn near flawless under the old shutter glasses (waay back when it was supported).

Come on Nvidia. Throw us a bone here. I don't understand why opengl support isn't a HUGE priority for this product, given it's level of support from developers in the past, present and I'm sure, future.

Yes, it's opengl, as is all of ID's legacy from glquake onward.

Ah, yes. Quadro. Most of us don't have quadro cards. Probably because that's a workstation card and not what most gamers would have purchased to go with thier setups. I suppose I could use some sort of reg hack to get it to work - but that doesn't really solve the problem does it? While I may look into this as an interim solution, it is not the support I envisioned when making my original purchase. Nor does that solve the issue of having opengl support for typical users of 3dvision.

But thank you for the reminder.

Sad - I remember when the product was released during interviews about the technology Nvidia had claimed that they planned to implement opengl support in a future driver release. Nothing about quad buffered this, or quattro that.

Guess I should have gone with IZ3D's product.

*bump* for some official response please. It's a valid question that I believe deserves an answer.
