Recently hooked up my pc to my tv - EVGA 680 to Samsung 7500. Everything is good except the 3D gaming not working. It looks like I'll need the 3DTV Play app for this. Currently I am able to check off the stereoscopic settings in the nv control panel. I did the setup wizard, and the 3D shows up there. In Crysis 2 for example I can enable 3D, but I only get a shifted image that looks red/blue in tint and it's not in 3D. Again, I assume I need the 3DTV Play? I'll grab the trial this weekend to try in the mean time.
Thanks!

The red/blue you are seeing is 3D Vision Discover.

3DTV Play now supports the Checkerboard format, check your owner's manual to see if your model has it. If so you'll most likely get better results using it.

And after you oohh and aahh at Crysis 2 you can play a game in real 3D, or play Crysis 3, seriously just get them out of the way first if you really want to play them in 3D and then play a game like Dishonored with HeliX's fix in actual stereoscopic 3D ... and then you can pick your jaw up off the floor. :D

Gotcha, 3DTV Play will replace the anaglyph(sp). Thanks!! Yep TV supports checker ;)
I find it funny I can play actual 3D games on an Xbox 360, HSBS and it's a pain on a computer. I just recently built a new comp and never bothered with the 3D on my older with the 570 in it. Got my long HDMI and USB cables just for this, well and to play on a 60" with 7.1 surround.
Once I have this running I'll def play some Dishonored.
From what I've read the 3DTVP does a slightly better job in faking 3D than the tv's 2D-3D conversion. Obv Dishonored has actual 3D support. Also it looks like Tridef is good to have as well for games that don't run that well under 3DTVP.
Thanks again!

The ES7500 is great, i've never used a better TV for gaming. It's pixels have a very high "fill factor" and you can get pretty close to the screen before the pixels start to stand out. You can enable checkerboard with the "PC" mode input.
3DTV Play offers the same dimensionality as 3D Vision and when your depth and convergence are configured properly, the game should look like you are staring through a window. For a realistic look, set your depth so that things on the horizon match your interpupilary distance and then your convergence so that things up close look the correct size. Keep in mind you FOV plays a part in depth perception, but thats a little more complicated. Or you can go for the dollhouse look or whatever else you like.

Nvidia says dishonored is supported. Its not.
Go to tsaebeht's link. [Im not sure if thats what you were saying. I just have a feeling you were looking at geforce page. I just wanted to make sure before you start game up]
http://www.geforce.com/games-applications
THIS PAGE IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED. It's told more lies then Jame's Bond has STD'S. They will occasionally fix a listing but like after games been out for a few months of you owning it. They seriously play musical chairs on that page with the 3D vision supported. Borderlands 2 is apparently 3d vision supported. I guess I missed that memo when I patched that disaster... [Took me a long time to get it where I want it but looks good now imo. Thats tooting my own horn though]
3d tv play/ 3D vision doesnt have "fake 3d" [besides crysis 2/3]. Its basically got compatible/not compatible games. You mostly can't go wrong with Helixmod games, 3D Vision ready/excellent rated games [Though I'd still check helixmod site for a patch for any game. LA Noire/RE5 as an example require fixes and are 3d vision ready] I guess you can experiment later on or with games you already own. But this is a lesson better learned now then later.
Most important thing you need to know is helixmod site and about depth/convergence as was said above.
I know it sounds like a lot to take in at once. But after a few days its pretty easy to get a game going in 3D. Helixmod may sound scary but its just drag+drop pretty much.
---------------------------------------------------------
nvidia control panel->set up steroscopic 3d-> setup stereoscopic 3d shortcuts->click advanced.
Either change keys or remember them.[F1 to lower depth. F2 to increase Depth. - to lower convergence. = - to increase convergence is what I use]
Depth is the how "long" the world appears
Convergence is just as REQUIRED [Though nvidia hides it in advanced].Its often called Pop-out but its not realy. You can use convergence to make games pop-out. But convergence is really needed to make a game seem less flat [Needs just a little bit otherwise game seems 2D].
http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2012/06/how-to-unlock-convergence-in-locked.html
It pretty much shows why convergence is important. Left/right RE5 picture is recorded with same depth only convergence is added.

Thanks for the info, very helpful. I'll be trying the demo this weekend and mess with some games to see what's up. Wondering what the difference in 3D is comparing something like Crysis 2/3 to Dishonored or some other games that's are in real 3D. Guess I'll find out when I try. Why is the 3D on Crysis considered fake?

fake because there really isn't any depth. However if you play those games first, they look like there is depth compared to 2d. when you compare a real 3d game to a fake 3d game its about the same step up again. Grab Trine 2 demo or any of the other great 3D titles to see full 3D. Witcher 2, Trine 2, Metro (either), Far Cry 3, Max Payne 3, Tombraider, Dead Space 3 (flying around asteroids).
i find the sammy very good for 3d in checkerboard mode, very happy with it so far. pretty sure the series 8 and 7500 are the same. just wish i could be bothered figuring out the 60hz full 1080p 3D (30 fps per eye) for games that don't need high frame rates.

Still having issues getting this working. I am able to get checkerboard mode on my tv, I have the trial of 3DTVP installed, I have the rollermod inf installed for my tv. For some reason I still get the anaglyph image. I went back to run the 3d vision wizard again, and now am presented with the 3d vision kit options - either hub/emitter, wired glasses, discover glasses, and one other. I've tried them all and can't get it to advance. When I originally set this up, before having 3DTVP, I was able to get the 3D to show up during the wizard. I think I need to uninstall the samsumg edid driver, then run setup again. Any other suggestions?

What made you think you needed the rollermod? What year was the TV made? Checkerboard is supported via 3DTV Play now on HDMI 1.4 compliant 3D HDTVs capable of displaying the format.
Rollermod is for 3D Vision and requires an Nvidia emitter to be connected to activate. It was used by people prior to 3DTV Play supporting Checkerboard.

all i do is set the Nvidia 3d display Properties to Checkerboard (i only have two options, 3DTV Play and CB)
start the game
set the input label on the Sammy to PC
hit the 3D button on TV remote
select the 2nd most right option, checkerboard
turn on sammy 3D glasses. no mods, no EDID, no emitter, just a standard install of nvidia drivers.
Yeah, betc's instructions are all that should be needed. Just make sure to have convergence and depth hotkeys noted. ctrl-f3 - f6. ctrl-f7 will save your result. alt-f1 will take a screenshot. The convergence hotkey along with 3 others has to be enabled first in the control panel.

Thought I needed the mod for 3dtvp. Uninstalled and deleted the rollermod driver, shows Gen Pnp in device manager again. Reinstalled drivers. 3DTVP install can't detect my TV. When I launch stereoscopic wizard, gives me the anaglyph instead. What HDMI input does it need to be on? HMDI (DVI)? Which I'll try.

all sorted?
In device manager i see generic PNP. i have my HDMI cable plugged in HDMI port 1. not that that should matter. The only reinstall i usually need to do is the 3DTV Play software itself. that usually bumps the nvidia display properties to show the correct options.
Just say no to anaglyph
