The only way that you'll get "full" resolution passive from a TV is using two in a mirrored setup. Film Pattern retarders only send 1/2 of the image to each eye. 3D Vision does not offer a solution for either method. Optimized for GeForce offers line interleaved.

2015 or earlier LG passive TVs, especially flat (not curved) OLED models, with their great black levels. No forum member has reported EDID success with any 2016 model yet... Optimized for NVIDIA GeForce mode (via EDID) is great, providing interleaved 4K 3D @ 60 Hz for 3D Vision supported games, but you may have revert to unmodified Monitor Driver in Control Panel for 3D movie software (blu-ray players).

I purchased a 55UH850V (UH8500 in US) today, thinking it was compatible with 4K EDID Override. But now whyme466 says 2016 LGs doesn't work with EDID mod. Is this true? Is there anyone using EDID override successfully with an UH850V (UH8500)? Damn...

Or am i wrong ? and currently i have the option of using my passive asus monitor to play games with 3D vision using Lineinterlieve mode. Allthough its and edid hack, and its not directly supported my NVIDIA it works just fine. I would assume similar setup can be achieved with 4K panel using edid hack. Ofcourse its just half of panels Resolution for left and half for right but its Hell of Alot more than 1080p splitted into half. I propably need to buy a tv so i Was just thinking i should buy a 4k panel capable of doing passive 3D So if my dual Pj setup does not fit my next address i will be alle to use my tv for gaming

I saw the post below and feel a little relieved now. I will give a definite answer when the TV has arrived.
I decided to upgrade to a LG 60UH8500 4K 3D display. My 49 incher worked fine but this new display is giving me ghosting issues. Did anyone ever resolve these? If I play Trine 3 in top bottom 3D, I have almost 0 ghosting. When I try 3D vision with EDID override the ghosting is quite a bit greater. Is there a solution for this? I even tried creating my own EDID to no avail.
The film pattern retarder sends odd lines to one eye and even lines to the other eye. Each eye gets 1/2 resolution.

Half the horizontal resolution. So you are getting 3840x1080
2015 or earlier LG passive TVs, especially flat (not curved) OLED models, with their great black levels. They only used the edid working for 2014, 2015 models. It should work the same way if there aren't other bugs like fullhd models used to have. I asked for original edid to mod but there were no volunteers.

I wanted to buy LG 65UH850V and have even carried the computer to shop there to connect and check work with EDID Override. The driver is started, but 3D works incorrectly. For example, on the NVIDIA test, a logo in the center of the screen - good in 3D Stereo, but the tunnel around him is flat, has no depth

No matter of its half of 4K its still better than fullhd panel halved. And TO ME passive is the only viable option. Can't watch active, it's horrible to my eyes. Allthough i have not find yet good enough, but i have tested many projectors, one monitor, and few tvs. Gotta check out if i find one of 2015 models. Might be under a rock :D

@RS422, generally with EDID mods eyes are reversed in 3D Vision, you need to wear glasses upside down or make a registry change or replace the glasses's left and right polarized filters with one another.
And TO ME passive is the only viable option. Can't watch active, it's horrible to my eyes.
I agree with this. I'm only using a 1080p passive display and I find the resolution more than high enough for my old eyes not to be able to resolve individual pixels - and direct X based 3d vision games look great to me. It's only the open GL wrapper that goes a bit awry on passive in my experience - like the convergence stops half way into the depth or something. I hold that if the hardware manufacturers would have agreed on a standard (preferably passive because it's cheaper and less eye strain) then home 3d (especially for gaming) would not have died off so quickly.
