I still can find no solution to disable the 2D crosshair in MW3 and just use the Nvidia laser sight. Does anyone know how to do this??? The widescreen fixer doesn't work for me.

I was able to use Helix's debug file to disable the hud, which is vertex shader 1550 according the the debug dialogue. It also disables the menus, but if I just use the debug dll to disable the hud when you need it, it is still quite playable.

If it works nice give me a picture so I can add. If not then don't worry about it. I dont have the game so I wouldnt know.

I bought the game for 5 bucks off ebay. Anywho... I just fixed the crosshair for those interested. http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2012/04/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-3.html

Wasnt tested on sniper rifles. So they may be an issue. Will have to see when I get time to play.

Eqzitara and Helix,

Thank you so much for this fix, I have been waiting for this for a long time. I have COD MW3 installed in my computer since the launch, but have not played it for more than 2 hours cause I coudn't stand watching the annoying 2D crosshair. It was very disturbing to play in 3D that way and having the Nvidia laser sight mixed up together with the 2D crosshair totally ruins the 3D gaming experience.

I can't hardly wait to get home and try out your fix, so I can finally play this game and finish it. I've played all COD since 2007 Mordern Warfare in 3D and I was so disappointed that MW3 wasn't working properly in 3D due to this annoying crosshair issue.

So, to use these files just put them in the game's main directory file right? The file that has the crosshair fixed to 3D mode, what do you mean that it's not dynamic, you mean that it doesn't change size when aiming at enemies???? But is it playable without problems, I mean the depth added makes the aiming possible now like using a true 3D crosshair? If I decide to use the option with no crosshair, will also the menu HUD disappear, where it shows your ammo and guns specs????

What do you mean when ironsights are activated??? I undertsand this option is available when using the Helix fix without crosshair and using Nvidia laser instead, but I don't get what do you mean by ironsights, so that it would be good to disable the Nvidia crosshair when right clicking the mouse. Do you mean ironsights as when you're aiming using the gun's telescopic sights??? So, if using the second option fix with no crosshair, the ironsight right-click fix will also be included right?

Sorry for my english.

First one is just crosshair put into depth. It DOES NOT change depending on where enemy is. If you are looking for the most accurate crosshair this is not it. Basically its at 70% depth. If enemy is at 20%depth(in your face) it will be a tiny bit off. If you played any helix-mod game its the same as those.
Second is nvidia laser sight. I removed the in game crosshair so you can use nvidia laser sight. I also included a file with instructions to how you can play the game with laser sight only engaging when you are not holding right click. That way laser sight will disable when you go into the guns special firing mode.

Installation directory is mentioned on the post.

Thanks for the explanation, so you're saying that the best option is the second one with the Nvidia laser sight and no crosshair right? The Nvidia laser sight would be more precise for aiming at different depths, right?
So, If I use the the no crosshair option that Helix made and also the optional file, once I hold right click, the Nvidia laser sight will be disabled and when just engaging the weapon and releasing right-click, the Nvidia laser sight comes back automatically??? If that's the case, it's awesome.
What do you mean by instructions on how to use the right click fix, I thought by just placing the optional file in the game's directory would already do the trick???

if you want to use the right click method you need to follow instructions included in file. It requires replacing a file in your nvidia folder and turning on a program. It only takes 3 mins if you follow instructions.
Make sure in game you switch to HOLD DOWN SIGHTS (RIGHT CLICK).

Helix and Eqzitara,

thanks for your efforts. I am playing MW3 without the crosshair and I'm also not using the Nvidia laser sight cause it gets mixed up with the gun's ironsights when aiming and they're at different depths. But to me you can use the gun's ironsight just fine, they're not in 2D, it's in 3D, so it's easy to aim and shoot, no problems there.

There's a very annoying issue in this game while 3D is on, that I'm not sure if you can fix, but if you can it would be awesome. Every time there's an explosion, smoke and fire, I get an annoying shaking screen effect and it really bothers me. If I disable 3D Vision than the issue goes away, but once I enable 3D the annoying shaking/flickering effect comes back. Is there a way to avoid this a fix or something like that???
This game has fire and smoke in every scene, so 90% of the time I have to deal with this flickering smoke issue. I only have shadows removed as they're rendered in 2D, is there any other option in the game's menu I should turn off or change something?
BTW, can you fix the shadows issue rendered in 2D like you did to Dead Space 2 so I can play this game with shadows enabled?
