I was hoping for exactly this, just wish it was in the UK :-( Bargain! I've had my eye on 3 of these or the Dell equivalent. Different ballgame, but the LC49HG90DMUXEN is on offer at Amazon Uk at the mo, but it's still £990 and doesn't support 3d.. I'm tempted but don't want to lose 3d. The LG is a VA panel with up to a 144Hz refresh rate, I don't know if any kind of override would work to enable 3d vision :-( and even if it did I'd expect subpar results compared to a TN panel.

Is this the best 3D monitor to get right now? Price is not bad. Do I need to bring the resolution down to 1080p and the refresh rate to 120hz for it to work with 3D vision or does it work at 1440p at 165hz? I might just order this.

I don't own one, but I'm sure it works at 1440p @ 120Hz for 3d vision and yes, it's the best one. The Dell S2716DG is equivalent, apparently the latest revision of that is A05 and the reflective coating on the screen was changed which improved things compared to the original version. I've seen it posted that the PG278QR has less pixel inversion than the PG278Q, I have never seen any pictures though.

There's also ASUS PG27VQ and possibly upcoming PG27VQR. If they are better, I don't know for certain, but maybe worth considering.
