I found an old posting (elsewhere, 2003) that seemed to indicate that the ELSA and eDimensional wireless LCD shutter glasses were compatible. Can anyone validate or discredit this?
My ELSA glasses are acting flakey and I was thinking of just getting the eDimensional Spare Wireless 3D glasses ($49.95) VS, buying the whole kit ($99.95) if I was certain they would work with ELSA IR emitter that I currently have.

:'( Well, I guess no one knows or is willing to answer.
I went to the source, eDimensional, and I was told they did not know. I hate wasting money. Does anyone have any ideas on where to go for a definitive answer?

I don't know the answer to Your question,
but in the long run isn't the wired eDimensional the cheapest solution?: no batteries.
You can get the wired eDimensional at 40$ at:

so You save 10$ now and don't have to buy batteries any more. :)
I bought the eDimensional wired system. The dongle also had a connector that my old IR transmitter from my ELSA system could plug into.
I plugged in both the IR transmitter and the wired glasses. I powered things up and verified that the wired glasses worked. I then got out my IR wireless glasses and found that they worked also.
This would indicate that the eDimensional and ELSA shutter glasses and IR transmitters are functionally equivalent.

You can use the eDimensional spare wireless glasses with the old ELSA IR emitter. I have running several such configurations here.
