How to set up helix mod fix installer
  1 / 2
I don't get how to use the 3dmigoto fixes. It's not inuitive at all. I try to set it to SBS, launch the game and it just has the error message about how 1080p60 isn't available (thanks nvidia). But the game is playing in 720p mode. It doesn't even make sense. Also none of the nvidia hotkeys work. How do I enable SBS mode? I set it in the settings but it doesn't do anything.

You might want to try 3D Fix Manager for most of your issues. I had that error until I started using an EDID override. It tells Windows that you have a 3D monitor and removes the error/limitation. Well that's pretty annoying. I have a Sony Z9D and it's not on the list. At least 3d tv play works, at 720p.

Do any of these mods support full 1080p resolution at 60Hz or is HSBS my best option?

The Acer HR274H one I linked supports 1080p 120hz overall and 60hz per eye. I think that's what you're referring to. You don't want an override called Sony Z9D. You want one that replaces your TV with a 3D monitor. Meaning you want Windows to see a monitor and not a TV, and still be able to use your Sony Z9D TV.     Also, it looks like your TV supports 4K. To have 4K instead, use zig11727's link or this download which apparently supports 4K. It's a zip file with an .inf override in it.

1080p is enough. This isn't a passive tv unfortunately. I'm seeing significantly more crosstalk at 720p60 than 1080p24. 1080p30 hz per eye with black frame insertion in between is probably my best bet. Any possibility of that?

@mattseation22 Does your 3D TV support frame interlaced ? If so use the Acer HR274H 3D Monitor EDID Override.inf this will support 1080P @ 60HZ

FFS, say what model display you have. Some support Checkerboard, that might be an option. Otherwise 3DTV Play at 1080P24 is your only choice for every game except for one that have a 3DMigoto fix that also contains a DLL version that offers SbS/TnB. SuperDepth 3D is also an option.

I said what my display was already. It's a Sony Z9D TV. Unfortunately it is LCD active 3D, so crosstalk is a problem. I was close to buying an LG c6p, but I don't want to be stressed over possible burn-in. TV is my primary usage. 3D Games are just a possible bonus. As far as I can tell the TV only supports frame-packing, SBS, and TB. Anyway crosstalk is less noticeable at 24Hz than 60Hz with 720p. I'm wondering if any of these EDID mods can output 1080p30Hz with black frame insertion to mitigate the crosstalk issue. I'll take the hit to brightness. It's plenty bright already. It's a 120Hz LCD. 2 eyes * (30Hz color + 30Hz black) = 120Hz output. This is what I would like to try. It might not even help. The TV might be doing BFI already at 24Hz. As it is the crosstalk makes it unplayable at 60Hz and almost unplayable at 24Hz for me. Playing GTA V at night and it was very distracting. Every car had 4 headlights.

Im sure your Tv is still 60hz you can check it under native resolution in the Nvidia Control Panel then you can see it will probably go up till 60hz max. This will set your limit to 720p@60hz or 1080p@24hz. I don't know much about EDID overites on active 3D tvs. If your TV support Checkerboard like Zig11727 mentioned, that would be your best bet. You might have to change your Input label to PC or DVI PC mode to be able to see Checkerboard mode under your 3D options. Regardless, you should be able to use 3D fix Manager posted above, and launch any Dx11 games in sbs mode. Be mindful not all games respond well to this. Some games have worked for me others haven't. Not sure what game are you trying to play in sbs, but you can try a different one and see if you get the same error.

Sorry, I missed where you said what model you had. Searching the internet, I came up with the XBR-65Z9D Frame Packing: 1080p (30 Hz), 1080/24p, 1080i (60 Hz), 720p (30, 60 Hz), 720/24p Side-by-Side: 1080p (60 Hz), 1080/24p, 1080i (60 Hz), 720p (60 Hz) Over-Under: 1080p (30, 60 Hz), 1080/24p, 1080i (60 Hz), 720p (60 Hz) So it looks like Interlaced is supported, at least at 1080i (60Hz) Also, it looked like there was a substantial firmware update available that you might check out and see if any of it is important enough to bother updating. https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/lcd-tvs-android-zd9_z9d-series/xbr-65z9d/downloads/00015771 If you can't get 4K to work, if 1080P is decent, you can check to see if the TV will do 120Hz in 2D "without skipping frames", if so you could use a 3D Vision certified monitor for an override, but you'll also need to use Nvidia's emitter to unlock the driver and might possibly need to use their glasses as well. There was a user that did this with his 39inch 4K@30 Sieki for 1920x1080P@120Hz 3D Vision. Blurbusters has a UFO test that combined with a camera, can determine if frames are skipped.

Frame Packing: 1080p (30 Hz), 1080/24p,
1080i (60 Hz), 720p (30, 60 Hz), 720/24p
Side-by-Side: 1080p (60 Hz), 1080/24p,
1080i (60 Hz), 720p (60 Hz)
Over-Under: 1080p (30, 60 Hz), 1080/24p,
1080i (60 Hz), 720p (60 Hz)

Thanks for the help but the crosstalk is just too much for me to handle. I'm just going to have to wait until I can set up my old DLP projector. The tv contrast is too high for active 3d

On my TV I had to turn my sharpness all the way down in order for crosstalk to be reduced to minor. Maybe there's a setting you can change on yours that will help.

Whoa. Thank you. That made a huge difference. I was about to give up. I had adjusted everything except sharpness. Didn't think it would help.
