75 HZ screen good or not
hi , i have a acer AL1714 screen with 75 HZ max , i installed the 3D program and looks to work fine so i whas wondering if the 120 HZ screen is realy a must ?

i see 120HZ recommed at every place but it looks like i can run it fine with my monitor but i dont know if its good for the screen or not ?
i realy dont wanna waste 450 euro ( 600 $ ) for something that will be lower price soon.
so if i just can buy the 3D vision kit without the screen i would be happy.

but what do u guys say ? 120 HZ is a must ( i think it has just better screen quality?) or 75 HZ is ok ?

thank u for reading this

Sadly your monitor is not supported. Aside from 120Hz there are special requirements that make a monitor 3d-ready. If it is not on Nvidia's list then it pretty much doesn't work. If you are looking to get a 3D monitor on the cheap, check out the Zalman Trimon 22". It goes for $300 and includes glasses. I have one and it is really nice.

What you're using is 3D Vision Discover, the anaglyph version which pales in comparison to the real 3D Vision experience.

If you like it, yeah, that monitor is fine. But I'm just making you aware it's not the same as regular 3D Vision which doesn't use red/blue but a completely different method using electronic shutter glasses and a 120Hz monitor. The reason it's 120 Hz is to display two full images at once to you (each at 60 Hz effectively), and the shutter glasses allow each of your eyes to see the correct, full-color image with no red/blue business at all.

What 3D technology do you mean? You can use the Red/Blue 3D on any monitor, and you don't need the 3D Vision glasses for that. The shutter glasses work completely different and wont work with your monitor. The changing L/R Pictures seem right on an standart LCD in 75HZ but you can't sync the glasses with the monitor.

oooh ok :)

What 3D technology do you mean? the 3D driver from the nvidia website ( NVIDIA_3D_Vision_v197.41_driver )

i heard that the 3D television will be released "soon" so the pc monitors will follow "quick" so is it realy a good idea to buy (new screen and ) 3D vision kit ? or should i better wait becouse the 3D kit and screen will be the same effect ?

In terms of playing 3d games on computer beyond the red/blue glasses system you really need to do a lot of research, in terms of being a public product (instead of a full on nerd product) it's still in it's early days.

Basically what has happened is that technology has finally reached a level to produce the necessary 60 images per eye needed to produce a correct color 3d image. This situation has only existed for a bit over a year despite 3d being in cinema's
(with red/blue glasses) in the 1950's (in other words its taken that long to take it from red/blue to color)

I would suggest you spend the next 6 months (yes 6 months) researching and saving up some money and then I know you will have a fantastic 3D experience.
