Please remove Borderlands 2 from your 3D Vision Site, it is misleading. Why don't you use Guildwars 2 instead? It is perfectly awesome in 3D, even vanilla. The cutscenes and the game's menu are the only things wrong with it and they're no big deal!

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

In some games I have to hold down convergence for what seems like over a minute, before it finally adjusts. So some games you may think are locked, actually are not.
Yes exactly. And how does a new user even know he can adjust the 3D dimensionality of his display? How many new users just accept seeing un-configured 3D as normal? Only Metro 2033 and Battlefield BC2 had their convergence properly configured for me, and even then i remember tweaking it a little bit in both games. Every game requires at least a slight convergence change for me. I just started Fable 3, which had a slight doll-house effect from the outset. Had i been a new user, what would i make of that? The convergence shortcut would likely be disabled, but i doubt anyone would know about it either way.
It would be optimal if Nvidia hinted at what convergence does and of the fact that 3D dimensionality can be changed in their setup program and also made a configuration program that allowed users to play with the convergence and depth with appropriate imagery containing subject matter with known size values, like a human and/or car, with things like trees or mountains in the distance.
On top of all this, I remember that i actually had discomfort when changing the convergence and depth when i was new to 3D, so that just makes it even more important to do all that can be done to make adjusting the 3D as quick as possible. A visual indicator when adjusting convergence and the aforementioned configuration app with more real world imagery and perhaps a walkthrough guide explaining how things work would help.
I am new to 3D. Just got my 3D VG278H this christmas. I love the effect. It was hard on the eyes till I figured out about the convergence. What a difference. I found out about it on my own. This should be a main setting for 3D. Yet they tell you nothing about it. I feel sorry for ppl who dont have the wits to try and make things right and just deal with the eye strain. There definetly needs to be a better INTERFACE for 3D. I thought 3D was the latest thing. I didn't visit these forums beforehand. Now you got me all scared that it's on the way out.

I think a good, simple and to the point visual indicator for convergence would be two eyes on on a horizontal scale that moved away from each other the more you raised the IPD.
IPD (Interpupillary Distance): The distance between the pupils of your eyes. This is an important factor in HMDs as misaligned IPD can result in blurry images and poor 3D effects. Most HMDs are designed with an adjustable IPD to accommodate varying facial structures and eye spacing.

@Sharpzed: 3D isn't going anywhere and personally i think its got a good foothold, even 3D movies.

Yah, 3D isn't going anywhere.
It may not see increased support, simply because all of the haters are dettering wider acceptance of stereographic gaming.
But at worst, it will be simply maintained.
Hi All
I apologize if anyone felt as though I was abandoning you. When our forums went down my habit of checking our forums every day went away. Once you get out of your routine its hard to get back on it. So when the forums went back online my habit was broken and I apologize for that.
I still work on 3D Vision and in fact I am on a call right now with the engineering team discussing some new 3D Vision features.
To some people's quesiton, yes I do now also work on NVIDIA GRID and was at CES 2013 demonstrating that.
Hope all is well with everyone
What a worthless post from a complete idiot. When are you going to hire helix or bring him on as a consultant to school your incompetent developers? I bet andrew doesn't have enough balls to answer this.
