You should check PC GamingWiki or Nexxus for a toggle solution when it's not needed.
There are also websites dedicated to no hud gaming that utilize 3Dmigoto to enable/disable HUDs/UIs for gameplay and/or screenshots.
You can disable the HUD from in-game options,
and probably a different flag can be found to put the HUD in 2D, but something like 3DMigoto can also be used to disable it on the fly, yes:)
Still, lately I started to prefer Stereo Reprojection a lot more than before :)
what is stereo reprojection?
Stereo Reprojection is what Compatibility Mode does. It creates the 2nd eye based on the first eye and using the depth buffer.
I have this error "can't not find point entry for convergence &separation patching"? with Metro Exodus

What OS?
What driver?
What version of the tool?
When does it happen?
You'll have to type a bit more than that... :)
In any case restart the game and the tool. It works just fine as it happens that I am literally just testing it now.

The last version is 1.0.18. I would recommend using that one as it has quite a few bug fixes and it supports profiles. I am working on the next version to fix a few outstanding bugs as well;)
Glad you found what the problem was.

It is still there, but the with the environment being so much better/dialed in with increased depth/convergence, it's way less distracting and a small trade off for being able to play in 3D vs 2D. This hack by helifax maximizes CM to a whole new level.
Note: I haven't tried this yet, but that is what I read from following this thread
