ACER GD235HZ and GD245HQ NEW 3D LCD MONITORS!
Hey,

Just saw these new 3D monitors on the NVIDIA home page, but I cant find much info on them anywhere... I guess they are very new.

What I want to know, is ARE THEY FULLY 3D COMPATIBLE?
i.e. Any ghosting, like on the Samsung 2233RZ? Or is it crystal clear, with no ghosting, like the new laptop, or DLP TV's?

Can't wait to see some reviews, might be buying one soon, depending on what I hear about them, and when they make it to Australia! :D

GD235HZ and GD245HQ are actually the same monitor, but with different part number for different areas of the world.
They are still not available on the market, we'll have to wait until January/February 2010 at least and probably no reviews earlier than that.

The displays are Full HD with support for 3D Vision, Nvidia used them to demonstrate 3D Blu-ray playback on them (early samples I guess).

I am sure they are fully compatible, but no shutterglass technology is "crystal clear". It wont be. The LCD cannot go opaque then crystal clear 120 times per second. So even if the display is perfect, the glasses cannot block the other eye out 100%. Ghosting is inherent to this technology in the display and in the glasses. Its the sum of both that is what you have to deal with.

I have the samsung 2233rz and with my setup, ghosting is not an issue for me. Its not that bad. Its better than any crt 3d display I ever used. Some people say the 2233rz is horrible. Somewhere in the middle is the truth. The question is, how much more or less ghosting is there over the current 2233rz. I wont spring for a 16:9 display unless its over 40 inches though. I want 1920x1200.
