Yes I did see that its not yet listed among the compatible devices. I was hoping to find a support person or a user that can confirm that it indeed works with 3D Vision.

I was looking for the same info, i managed to find a thread from someone who looks like they got it working. details are here http://www.bigscreenforums.com/forum_topic...4524&p=last .

Getting a concrete answer on this topic would be great. Dell is saying it is compatible, however I am skeptical with their response as they seemed unsure at first. It would be great to find someone who can say that they did test the projector and can confirm it works with 3D Vision.

Sounds like it would work like the Optoma hd66 which is really a hack around to make it work.
1. DVI to VGA cable, snap or isolate pin to stop EDID
2. Create a custom monitor.inf file to have 1280x720 (120hz) although I prefer 1280x768 (120hz) for my HD66, and update the monitor to use it selecting non-generic-pnp monitor device type to update.
3. Create custom resolution in the nvidia control panel for 1280x720 (120hz).
4. Select generic CRT for 3D display type in 3D configuration panel.
The above steps could involve you having to reboot to make it stick, but these are basic steps to get it up and running.
I'd say you will be wearing your glasses upside down once you get it working too.
On that note, come on Nvidia please just add the invert stereo tab back in the control panel. This is bloody ridiculous I have purchases your glasses and I have purchased your video card and I use a CRT that satisfies the requirement to use Generic CRT (3D) like you advertise your product is able to do!!!

I am not sure why it would require those modifications. From the specifications and the ports it seems very similar to the DepthQ projector which is supported.
What is the issue I am not seeing? Does the Dell not support a 120hz signal? I am not sure why you would have to mess around in the monitors inf. Seems to me you should be able to force things on the Nvidia control panel as long as the s300 supports a 120hz signal.

I think I may be seeing where the confusion is coming in. Its my understanding and demonstrated by the DepthQ projector that the dell s300 using two vga inputs to perform the stereo. That (2) 60Hz vga inputs used in conjunction with a dual head nvidia quadro card (possibly any nvidia card) and quad buffered stereo. That is a cloned desktop from one pc with a dual head quadro card with quad buffered stereo should drive this projector no problem with 3d vision.
The DepthQ projector is supported and listed on the 3d Vision site. It has no 120hz DVI-D input, it has 2 VGA inputs and one for each eye and both at 60Hz, providing a 120hz refresh rate.

hi
I can confirm this will work but with SEVERE limitations. The reason for the steps above it the 3d Vision won't recognise it as a 3d compatible device otherwise and won't allow you to activate it. the s300 accepts a single 120hz signal through a VGA cable and works when you set it up as a CRT monitor. The BUT is that after spending hours trying to work this out and several (useless) phone calls and emails to dell, it will only accept a 800x600 signal at 120hz and the maximum supported cable length is 2m. I had a cheap 2m and even this didn't work, I had to purchase a premium cable to achieve sync at this length otherwise it was all over the place. also, the glasses do need to be worn upside down as someone else mentioned! This PJ will be getting boxed up and sold to my work very shortly, think i'll need to just invest in the H5360 after all!

I am not disagreeing with your assessment, I am just confused as to why my DepthQ works with 3D Vision using dual vga input, but the dell will not. do you have a quadro card?

no, a gtx295. can you confirm there is definetly a feed down both lines and it's not just running off of 1?

Been a while since I configured the depthq, and I was WRONG. It is a 120hz single VGA connection. So I am sorry, but I have not only been no help, but I have added a layer of confusion. Please disregard my dual VGA comments.

The problem is the throw distance is too far for the room and screen size.
I stumbled upon the Dell S300.

It has a very short throw and is 3D compatible.
The question: Does anyone have an experience with this projector? Does it work with 3D Vision?
Thanks in advance.

This PJ will be getting boxed up and sold to my work very shortly, think i'll need to just invest in the H5360 after all!
hope that helps!
