Help With Setting Up Vision 3D Glasses Having an issue with the Wizard Setup
1 / 2
Good Afternoon,
I am having an issue with setting up the 3D glasses when going through the setup Wizard from Nvidia.
The wizard detects my senor and also my 3D ready display which is the Veiwsonic PJD6220-3D. The problem happens when I get to the screen that has you pick which shape you see in each eye of the glasses when the glasses are enabled.
I can tell the glasses are on becasue I get the bright green light on the sensor and also I can see the glasses flashing when I have them on. The problem is that the screen doesn't look any differnet if I have the glasses on or not. I assume at this point, and please correct me if I am wrong is that without the glasses on at this point I should see both shapes together on the screen? on top of each other and when I put the glasses on and block one eye, I should see one shape?
All I see with or without the glasses on is this... I see the blue triangle for about 20 - 30 seconds and then it changes to the orange stop sign shape and it will just change back and forth about every 20 - 30 seconds or so... shouldnt this be changing ALOT faster??
Am I doing something wrong or have something set wrong?
My projector is set at 120Hz 1024x768. My video card is a Nvidia 9600GT. I am using the 186.18 drivers that came with the 1.09 CD. I am also running Windows 7 RC (7100)
I have also tried to turn off the Auto 3D Sync on the projector and that didnt make a difference.

Your YouTube video, at 20 seconds in and at 1:38 in, shows that you haven't enabled Stereoscopic 3D on the "Set Up Stereoscopic 3D" section of Stereoscopic settings. It's the small check box near the top where it says "Apply the following stereoscopic settings". Make sure that is checked and try again. Hopefully that will do the trick!

No, I didn't. I bought the kit at the same time I got the 120Hz projector since both companies state that they work togther. That was the selling point. I don't have a CRT or a 120Hz LCD.

It doesn't make a differnce if that is checked or not. When you first install the drivers and go to that setting, you have no choice but to check that box as the "run test" is greyed out. The only reason it let me now is that I "lied" my way through the test to try it out in a game to be sure.

Did a little more searching to see if anyone else was having this problem and found this post over on Meant To Be Seen. You may want to post over there as well and see how this guy got 3D up and running.

Hi
Your issue sounds like you are having trouble with the firmware on the projector. I will confirm it. We are working with ViewSonic on this issue.
Yes that's the setting. Which setting is causing this problem of weird cycling?
Also, when its set to On what happens?
Well, when its set to On or Auto and I am at that test screen with the shapes and have the glasses connected and on, I see a flickering through the glasses when I am looking at the screen. If I change it to Off, I get no flickering with the glasses are on.
My question I have now is about those shapes in that test screen. Shouldn't I see, with no glasses on, both shapes on top of each other? Becasue I don't. I see each for about 20 seconds or so and then it changes to the other shape. makes no differnce with the glasses on or off or with the Auto Sync 3D setting on the projector.
What would make that test screen do that? I have right now an Nvidia 9600GT and plan on trying out a spare 8800 GTS that I have to see if the same thing happens.
I have now reformatted my computer 10 times back and forth from Vista and Windows 7, both 32bit editions. Only reason I did this was to make sure the system was super clean. Doesnt matter which OS I run, I get this same issue in the test screen.

Yes with the glasses on and both eyes open, you should see is both images. When you close one eye, you should only see one shape, and then you close the other eye, you see the other shape. If you arent seeing that it isnt working.
You can also trying running the stereosocpic 3D test app in the control panel (the floating NVIDIA logo that moves back and forth) and seeing if 3D works.

Hi
Your issue sounds like you are having trouble with the firmware on the projector. I will confirm it. We are working with ViewSonic on this issue.
Please help if you can!
Thanks!

I just had a though, have you tried enabling 3D from the projector's menu systems?

Andrew,
Thanks alot for jumping in. When you say "enable 3d" do you mean by the option for Auto Sync 3D on the projector? It has Auto, Off and On?

Doesnt matter which OS I run, I get this same issue in the test screen.
let me know your thoughts.
Thanks again!
