I have to admit I have the same problems. The only way I got UT working was to play in openGL anything that uses directx crashes the computer instantly.

Ok, the new drivers were a big improvement for me. Doom 3 finally works! Yes!

Still, however, having issues with a couple newer games.

1) Battlefront II - 3d looks good but there are weird see through borders on the sides.

2) Oblivion - Still not working, the screens in each eye are shoved toward the middle, so big black borders and no stereo effect.

- These may just need settings tweaks, so if anyone has advice I would appreciate it. Otherwise, thanks NVIDIA!

IT is not drivers fault, it's Oblivion fault...
For complete 3D expirience in Oblivion you have to turn off one option in oblivion.ini file, but I can't remember which one. Google for it... anyway, after that Oblivion becomes full 3D but with sideefect of purple water. For that you have to download fix for purple water (google for that too  ). As I've heard, water after that is ok but less real...
I've contacted Beshida software with this issue, but their support is worthless. After completley describing the problem they respodned me to send them complete description of the problem (WTF? :o  )

why do you use hotkey? Did you try to turn on stereo drivers via nvidia's display pannel and the run the game?

Personaly, I've never used hotkey and only on previous drivers I had conflict with runing games...

So far I have been able to get Lock ON: Flaming Cliffs, Total Air War, Doom3, Absolution Quake1.

It appears my problems are fixed with these new drivers!!

I can get absolutely nothing running with these drivers. I purchased a 6500 when my 7800gtx was in for RMA, I got the new card back, rebuilt the computer, and when I go into any game, it will either lock the computer and show a great 3d screen, or just reboot it right away... Here is my hardware:

xfx 7800gtx 256
2 gigs of corsair xms memory (checked clean with memtest86)
ASUS 16x SLi AI Lifestyle board
AMD 4400+ dual core proc
soundblaster audigy 2 zx or whatever it is

All of the hardware works fine in 2d mode, as soon as anything stereo hits the screen, it all comes tumbling down... I hate having all this expencive gear and nothing to do with it. GREAT job nvidia...

Hello,

I have just formatted HD, re-installing WinXP, SP1, SP2, drivers, and put 91.31 set.
Installed IL2: Forgotten Battles (FB) v1.0, tried to activate stereo and crash to desktop. I have played with vertex shaders options, but no success.

When 45.xx, 5x.xx IL2FB v.1.0 was perfect, when Aces Expansion Pack (AEP) and 6x.xx the stereo effect was severely 'damaged', the same with drivers version up to 78.01 and Pacific Fighters addon/game. And now with 91.31 they have killed definetively these games.

It seems to me that the most that we can expect from NVIDIA is to patch stereo drivers for some more or less mainstream games DURING a LIMITED time, then when these games are no more the best sellers of the year they patch the stereo drivers to make stereo possible in the hot new games...and so on.

I think that stereo drivers development is not really supported by NVIDIA and only some NVIDIA worker that likes it make it at extra hours and NVIDIA 'generously' allows him to post them in the drivers section...I can't find another explanation, because if it was really supported by NVIDIA, the only logical options would be two:

1. make them a product with support
2. kill them definetively. Today entreprises do not keep useless costs in their structure, so if such crapp drivers are kept shall be because is a private initiative.

Maybe we should contact with this/these few persons in NVIDIA... :D

You would need something like the directx to opengl wrapper, too bad it isn't finished and only for D3D8.1 :(
I hope there are working new Nvidia drivers soon, I don't care if it takes a 50% performance penalty because of no optimizations, as long as the implementation is clean and it works 100% of the time.
Why is there not an option to switch off all optimizations, call it compatibility mode or something.

How do these 3D drivers work anyways? A program like this could be extremely simple to do, just render a frame with a slightly position/angle shifted camera with all effects etc. on, then render another frame with the camera position/angle shifted the other way. So the only thing you would need is a wrapper that is between the driver dll and OpenGL / D3D that changes those 2 parameters each alternating frame and there is your stereo driver without optimizations of things that are done twice in the frames (setting up all other objects and textures, not sure what else).

Aquamark3, 3Dmark03 Demo and Battlefield 2 works with 91.31.
CoD2(?), America's Army and Fear SP Demo works with a little 3D effect.

I've posted some pics in "3D pictures" http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=17585
