Any news on when the 6-8GB 970/980 will launch? :)
Latest news about gtx 980 Ti are that it is coming sometime in May (between 16-26 to be more clear).
sorry, i've asked today - no news concerning this
Screenshots of the graphics options are floating around online, as are some of the config ini files. No references to 3D anywhere, so it's pretty safe to assume it's not going to have official 3D Vision support.
A quick word to the fixers. You've probably learned to wait a little while before working on a new title by now, but I'd just stress with this one that CDPR have a history of releasing major upgrades to their titles post-release. The Witcher 1 & 2 both got free upgrades to the "enhanced edition", which also covered a lot of bugfixing. It's entirely possible (likely, even) that they'll have at least a few significant patches. So it may be worth holding back a little on any fixing work on those grounds.
I agree that TW3 will probably be borked in 3D. If it's not working I will definitely be looking at it :-) I am sure a few others will too.
That being said it's important to separate out two different issues that might arise (a) It does not *render* correctly in 3D and we have to fix the shaders (b) The game simply does not *function* or run correctly in 3D, along the lines of DAI, GTA5 etc. The latter is by far the biggest problem and is where we will need developers and nvidia to sort stuff out. An example of (a) is Project Cars, and working on this is like a breath of fresh air right now compared to DAI, which was a frustrating nightmare.

Second that! and I and Mike (and Bo3b) know exactly why:)) Not crashes but finding the things that make the engine render correctly in the first place was a nightmare;)) I still play DA:I (MP quite a bit) and it still disables/crashes 2 desktop after 2-3 matches hahaha..-_-
Anyway if CDProject kept at least some part of the WT2 engine (which I expect they had) it is highly possible to have less issues than a game on an engine without "inherited" 3D Vision support;)) I really hope it will not be another DA:I or Shadow Of Mordor (where even the geometry was rendering weird..) I just know that after it is fixed I'll play the "crap" out of this game like I did with the previous 2 and all major RPGs;)) (by Major I mean good)

Who knows what all got broken in 3D when the updated the engine from DX9 to DX11. Regardless, the reviews are fantastic and I look forward to playing this game next week. Which such a huge world it will be fun to play it first in 2D and then later in 3D.

Yeah, you can expect them to patch the absolute shit out of this one. Both previous games were still getting major patches and even overhauls 12+ months after launch. Yet those games weren't as complex as this one.
Hopefully the 'it's safe to attempt a fix' point comes much earlier than that! :D

I remember the first witcher being one of the first titles I played when Nvidia released 3d Vision. Despite being created before 3D Vision it worked quite well. The second was amazing in 3d. If the devs have the same traditions perhaps we can be hopeful at least.

http://mygaming.co.za/news/pc/75508-the-cost-of-running-the-witcher-3-at-ultra.html
Apparently someone played the pc copy and confirmed that ultra specs in 1080p at 60fps require a 980, 4790k, and 16gb ram.
Hopefully, with good sli scaling, those of us with high end hardware might actually be able to max it out in 3d too.
I just imported the profiles from 352.84 driver to my pc this driver has profile for the witcher 3

Some Good news
Metal Gear Solid, Dying Light, Battlefield HardLine and Lords of the fallen are rated excellent in CM mode
Not recommended.... bah... I expected at least a Fair...
But then again DA:I, Lords of the Fallen wasn't recommended either... So we can fix it ^_^ (hopefully easy)

Something i'd like understand. it is the fault of nvidia or CDProjekt for no 3d ready ? Helifax means in other topic nvidia has not worked on the 3d vision since one year with cm mode.

CD projekt are ultimately responsible for their own game, so it's their fault.
But it's Nvidia's fault that they didn't incentivise 3dvision to CD projekt
It's the fault of the average gamer's reluctnce/ignorance of 3d that Nvidia have stopped bothering to incentivise 3dvision to devs.
It's the fault of Nvidia' poor marketing and lack of incentivisation that the average gamer is still so reluctant/ignorant about 3d.
It's basically a vicious circle with everyone partly to blame, and no one wholly to blame.
... To be honest, I'm surprised Nvidia even bother to do those 3dvision ratings still
Well.. the tech didn't "cath-up" to their "numbers" (and I mean 3D Vision) so nvidia stopped developing new stuff for it. What I meant is that the last Feature to implement was about 1 + something years ago...
They still do the rating and release new profiles (CM or otherwise) for 3D Vision so is not like they are ignoring it. But, from the developing point of view they are ignoring it ^_^.
Ultimately is the developer fault for not supporting the technology.
HOWEVER!!!!! The Witcher 2 (advertised as 3D Vision Ready) was broken on release! Yet, there were a number of users who "MADE NOISE" on their forums for 3D Vision ! It was fixed in patch 1.3 (if memory servers).
So, If we ask politely (after the game is released) on their forums, there is a chance (small) that they will add/fix the game!!!
Then again it is possible they will never do it. I've learnt not to rely on devs these days... If you want something done... do it yourself:)
So...there is my POV:)

Politely of course, acknowledging them for their awesome work with Wticher 2, and praising them for their historically generous attitude towards their users.
I suggest that we wait till release tomorrow, we make one thread, and that as many of us as possible try to make a post on it on that first day, so that our pleas are coordinated.

I'm wondering if a day 1 forum assault is the best approach. They have over a million preorders - chances are they'll have a HUGE quantity of new posts on the forums on day 1. It might be better to hold off for a week or two so we don't get lost amongst the noise.
