Stereo3d, Nvidia, Siggraph, s3d files to watch on your nvidia glasses!
Nvidia at Siggraph, loads of new s3d content to use on your nvidia glasses - Nvidia had resident evil 5 going in S3D, exciting stuff! All you resident evil fans are going to love this, I can't wait to see some more nvidia s3d presentations!

The s3d panel put on by Chopper with crytek, electronic arts and blitz games made history guys! I wish you all could have been there at siggraph seeing all the new s3d content coming. I am going to have to get a water cooled nvidia card to enjoy all this new s3d gaming!

Also for those that love these conferences, and you REALLY have to go because there are so many exciting s3d people and events, make plans to attend siggraph next year and also several game developers are meeting to get some s3d game standards going through the S-3d gaming alliance - s3dga next month at the 3d entertainment summit.

Andrew, I'm going to try and make it to this conference. Will NVIDIA be at the meeting? It would be great if we could meet up. I want to see some more nvidia s3d presentations like the resident evil 5 one you guys did at siggraph and with all the big industry players going to be at that s3d festival it can do great marketing for you guys.

I looked for you at the nvidia s3d presentation during resident evil 5 but I was so caught up in all the enthusiasm I guess I missed you.

3D: what You must Know
Catalog #: 25159, Thursday: 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

After high defnition, what is the next “gotta have” for home theater? That is
the question that has been lingering within the custom installation channel
for the last few years. It seems like 3D may be “it,” or at least a major
component of “it.” Before you jump into 3D, there are many areas that need
to be understood in order to ensure maximum viewing experience. This
panel discussion will cover key topics including:
• Is this going to be another format battle? What needs to be standardized,
who will do it, and how long will that take?
• What are the current format proposals and how can I plan for them today?
° Glasses – active, passive, or none?
° Impact on content distribution – will we need something new?
° Impact on displays?
° Will it be HD or not?
° Where will the content come from and when?
° Where do higher resolutions and virtual reality ft in to 3D?
• What are the primary design considerations?
• What are the timing and cost issues?

Crytek will be up on Monday.

Some more videos. Neil of MTBS reveals that Nvidia is what first inspired him to ditch his monoscope. Without Nvidia, MTBS would not exist- we are all one!

So the Kung Fu game on consoles I wonder if it uses checkerboard output, I'd say it would have to because that is the only DLP/Plasma method with the biggest customer base with 3D ready.
Which glasses do the maker of that game think owners of DLP/Plasma 3D ready tv's have. Like me I have Nvidia 3d vision and no other shutter glasses and these will not work obviously.
I actually don't know who will be able to play this game in 3D and think they have made it just to show it can be done on console.
Another bit of food for thought is not all xbox 360's are HDMI and the only way these DLP/Plasma's kick into 3D mode is by using HDMI 2 input, no other input will kick into 3D.
I can get on PS3 PSN as well they are saying but then this brings me to my next question that my Plasma only kicks in 3D when getting an input of 1360x768 or 1024x768, these resolutions are not available in the dashboard config of the system so would the game kick into the resolution to help :) doubt it.
So many questions but this is the world of 3D nothing freakin standardized to get the ball rolling argghhh@!

Only way I can see this game working on a 360 or PS3 is via HDMI to a DLP that has panel resolution of 1080P and use the crappy looking wireless shutter glasses I see on Ebay that advise they are made for DLP 3D ready TV's. You could than put the IR straight to the back of the TV's 3D synch port and hope the game will do a checkerboard output to the DLP, only way it will work.

I have heard of another method of synching glasses using white light from the TV so no 3D synch port needed on TV's which sounds interesting but I don't get how all TV's could use this as DLP/Plasma 3D ready have a chip on board to decipher the checkboard left/right frames and output to screen. This would mean page flipping would have to be used and than back to the old problem would need 100hz/120hz to be viable.
Well that's a discussion for another day I guess :)

Bullripper, here is a thread that will answer all your questions - as they used to say in the 6 million dollar man "we have the technology" and that andrew oliver did some neat stuff! A lot of s3d displays are supported.
