Been playing 3d games recently and want to give Dark Souls III a shot. A month ago, I got a new graphics card and installed the helixmod for all three DaS games and got them working. Now that I've moved onto three, the game won't start up in 3d mode and ctrl+t doesn't make it 3d either.
The helixmod site says to swap the profile, but I have no idea how to do that, and there's nothing on the helixmod page or the link to here that says how.

DDU your drivers & reinstall.
There are stickies on this forum explaining how you can swap and import profiles:)
Needs a bit of time to read and willingness to try it out;)

Okay, so I did DDU. I also found out the GEforce 3d Profile thing and replaced Dark Souls III with what's in this thread, and still 3d vision does not activate in Dark Souls III. It works in Dark souls II, but not in Dark Souls III. It just seems to randomly work on some games and not on others.

Something else is wrong there.
For 3D Vision to kick in... you need to run the game in Fullscreen Exclusive (not FullScreen WIndow Mode)
It is possible something else interferes and doesn't let the game start... Maybe the new Windows 10 DVR stuff?

I fiddled around with another game of mine, Hand of Fate, and turned full screen on and off. That fixed THAT game
So I tried in in Dark Souls 3. Nothing changed when I went from windowed to full screen.
Is there a special option somewhere that I can do to change it from "fullscreen" to fullscreen exclusive? I just believe its exclusive, because my screen flashes black for a few moments before booting up the game.

pretty sure its just in the options for this game.
Are you running windows 10? there seems to be no rhyme or reason why but ts a common issue that games won't start in 3D in certain titles. I have a dual windows 7 install exactly for this reason.

This is the newest version of the fix: https://s3.amazonaws.com/masterotaku/Dark+Souls+3/Dark_Souls_3_3D_Vision_fix.7z
I have fixed three shaders that previously were disabled (waves in floor messages, fog walls, when lighting a bonfire for the first time, when resting in a bonfire, fire heatwaves, etc). But there is a problem. They can (and sometimes will always be) be affected by clipping. That's why I made a F5 hotkey to disable them.
Hotkeys (I made some changes):
- F1: two convergence presets.
- F2: HUD depth presets. Screen depth by default.
- F3: HUD toggle. Not disabled by default.
- F4: bloom and sun rays toggle. Not disabled by default.
- F5: fire/bonfire/fog wall cycle with three settings. By default, nothing is disabled. First press, disabled bonfire heatwave. Second press, all of these shaders are disabled.
- c: bow crosshair extra depth toggle. Not used by default. This time only the crosshair is affected.
Put it in the blog post whenever you can, Helifax :).

Okay, so I recently had to reinstall windows, and I did a little experimenting. I played the game with no fix and 3d worked fine. Then, I installed the fix from helixmod (the new one) and 3d didn't turn on. I uninstalled with uninstall.bat and 3d stopped working. I then uninstalled the game to find out that one of the .dll files from the fix was still in the folder after uninstall, which was messing with the 3d.
So, is there a reason why the 3d fix turns off 3d altogether?

Maybe it's a drivers or Windows updates problem. For example, in March I could enable 3D in Star Wars Rogue Squadron (using dgvoodoo). Now I can't no matter what.
