Our company is specialized in stereoscopic imaging and depending on NVIDIA.
All of our graphicscards are Nvidia. Its the best stereosolution arround!
We are getting behind.... so we would be very happy with a new driver!!!
To all stereo ethousiasts: Please sign en show nvdia stereo is wanted!!!!
Like many others here, I switched to from ATI years ago, largely because of 3d stereo (SO COOL!), and just recently bought an 8800 without checking to make sure stereo drivers were available. I mean...it never occurred to me to check.
I assumed that a company that designs video cards and writes drivers for them would design video cards and then (gasp!) write drivers for them.
This is an area where nvidia can really differentiate themselves in the market, and create a lot of goodwill and loyalty from hobbyists...and they're completely dropping the ball. Now I'm stuck playing games the way I could with ANY video card, and I'm getting bitter, to boot.

im starting to wonder if it's impossible for stereo drivers to work with the 8 series cards .... why else would it take them so long to release drivers? :(

I bought a 8800GT a few weeks ago because the performance in 3D with my ATI card was poor. I thought that native support would be much better... I guess some support is better than NO support at all.
If at least, someone from nVidia could drop by and drop us a hint to know if they are at least working on it or not... only that... no explanations or anything... I just want to know if I should *still* wait or if I should trade my nVidia card for a ATI card or some other 3D solution.
nVidia, at least let us know if you care or not...

Like others, I felt the need to register for this post.
It might be hard to believe, but I'm still running a 6800 GT because I was waiting for nvidia to release a new stereo driver. In fact, I held off on putting together a new machine for over a year hoping that they would release a driver for the 8800 series. I'm glad that the driver is finally out (for some 3d solutions...) but it took forever. Judging from some of the responses here, I wasn't the only one that was holding out for a new driver.
Also, I am going to buy 2 8800 GTS 512MB to run in SLI. Hopefully stereo 3d will play nice with SLI.

Now - my system crashed and i had to buy new parts....
... it´s a shame that i had to buy an old 7950 instead of 8xxx or 9xxx, just because there is no driver available (shutter glasses).
I had to buy a new computer, and a 7950 GX2 card, just so I could use the old stereoscopic drivers that support shutterglasses. Ive already forgotten about the 8800 card that came with it. I am currently using it as decoration since its useless in my 3d computer..
With all the new 3d content on the way, and all the people into shutterglasses 3d, what is nVidia waiting for?
Support only for anaglyph is almost an insult..
Come on nVidia, you can make everyone happy with just a little effort. Adding shutterglasses support can't be that much more work, when you already support anaglyph..

Ouch, I am the extremely upset owner of a GTX 260 card which I bought over a cheaper/faster 4870 simply for it's supposed 3D stereo support for my page flipping HMD setup only to find that NVIDIA dropped support. I will sign whatever needs to be signed to get my $1200+ display to work again! I can't believe this happened. I was using my 7900 for so long that I didn't realize NVidia had simply just decided to drop support for future cards! My oh my, say it isn't so!!

Lol! I thought all these old threads were removed or something? It's like walking through a graveyard. /whistling.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />
And yes, unfortunately you cannot expect any support from nvidia anymore regarding other stereohardwares (at the moment they only support 3d-vision goggles and zalman trimon). Depending on how your displaydevice works you might have success with the iz3d drivers but it's no statement. Myself i'm using both the iz3d display as well as a dual projector rig for which the iz3d works better than anything else.
Check the mtbs3d or iz3d forums for info if you like.

Way to necro a post!
The issue this post is about (lack of support for 8800) has been fixed. You already have a post on your own seperate issue.

Cheers!
