The reason it crashes on loading screen is the same reason it was crashing when entering/exiting cinematics...
The game changes the rendering mode and thus the 3d driver gets confused I guess...
Before I made the fix for the cinematics (FWS) the game was constantly crashing for me in every cinematic and there was no way around it...
Fixing the crashes on loading screen is harder though as I "cannot see" what the engine is doing...
One thing that I found out is that before zoning if I CTRL+T (disable 3D Vision) and ALT+ENTER (window mode) the game loads just fine in the next zone. Once loaded I Fullscreen it again and enable 3D Vision. This works around 70% of time though. (game will not crash but 3D might be borked... but at least I can save after the zoning and quit/reload the whole game).
I don't know if is the DRM. There is defo something wrong within the game engine itself. Like with Lords of the Fallen (where I found out that Apex aka nvidia turbulance doesn't make the fix kick in, and again switching resolutions there helps, but I will post more info in LOTF thread when I can replicate 100% ^_^)
Based on what I've seen there is defo an "incompatibility" between the engine and the nvidia 3d driver itself. Why this only 2 games? Possibly DRM, possible broken driver, possibly un-updated driver (nvidia side) and so on...
One just need to look at the latest driver and Shadow of Mordor to see the instant crash that you get there (with or without any fix..just as long as 3D Vision is enabled....)

Thought I would share what worked for me. Using the latest drivers 347.09 and the BF4 profile, you defiantly need to have shader cache off also. I had a little bit of an issue with some of the shrubs rendering correctly but that all went away after I enabled SLI as I am running 2x680 Classifieds. Also, when I increased convergence that made some of the shadows screwy again so I got it where I wanted it, saved the config, quit the game, loaded back up and all is fine. Game looks awesome! Nice work! Side note, SLI vs. non SLI doesn't seem to matter as far as performance goes, most of the time I only see hard dips in FPS during cinematics.

Well then, after copying all of my windows 7 data and reinstalling windows 7 (which took around a solid 7 hours with partitioning errors and booting errors and whatnot) and trying out 344.65 and 347.07 with the correct settings applied each time and trying out the no 3d on boot registry trick, I'm accepting defeat. I really wanted to play this in 3d at a solid framerate but I guess it just won't happen. Go suck a big one bioware/EA and nvidia for making me go through this due to your incompetence and wasting 20 hours of my life for no reason.

You definitely have Origin in game off?
I was really dubious about the worth of doing a full re-install since everyone seems to have that zone problem.
However, try this. (with registry change to stop 3d vision it from autostarting starting.)
Load into game world.
Ctrl + T to check rendering.
If broke, Ctrl T to go back to 2D
Alt + Tab to desktop.
Click back to game
Ctrl +T to turn 3d back on.
rinse and repeat.
On the rare occasion I have still have issues with rendering, this appears to come right after a couple of tries. Every now and then it will still crash but that method works for me.
Also make sure vsync is off in game and control panel.

Has anyone had any success in getting this fix to work with Windows 8 x64? I get the loading screen then the game quits to desktop - all overlays are disabled in origin.
And thanks for the time and effort for this fix, I'm new to 3D and this game is on my hit-list :)

In particular we did *not* develop or test for
1. Windows 8.1. Windows 8.1 does seem to have issues with the game/drivers
Known Issues
Aside from all the known performance and stability issues with the game, the following are important when playing with this fix:
- DO NOT Alt-Tab out of the game. This is one of the known game issues, but at the very least it might disconnect 3DMigoto so the game fix does not kick in, though more likely the game will crash.
- We have not played the full game yet, and there will most probably be parts of the game that need fixing still, the odd light shader or decal, and possibly some "fog" errors.
- [NOW PARTIALLY ADDRESSED] The skybox when outside has a visible border at the edges. We will try and find a different way to fix this but for now it is what it is.
- Windows 8.1 has lots of issues, and we can't feasibly spend any time working it out since none of us use Win 8.1
We know that there is a CrashToDesktop with Win8.1, but I was under the impression that someone had this working on Win8. Not sure though, you might be the first guinea pig. It's not a good sign that it has the same symptom as 8.1.
Exposed123 is looking into whether he can find the problem on Win8.1, but is just starting to investigate.

Thanks Guys.
