LED/OLED new compatible displays ?
Hello, I would want to know if there will be any OLED/LED monitor compatible with Nvidia 3dvision in the next few months. Also if it has TV support and HDMI input. I want not to buy a new monitor each 12 months.
Thanks.

I ask because I lost a lot of interest in pc games just with the coming of LCD monitors, because the really poor dark colors reproduction. I also like to see movies, and it is another big reason to prefer the new LED/OLED tecnology (if the darks color/contrast quality is what they promise... I have never seen any with my eyes).

Thinking to buy a monitor to use with my pc, and thinking to use it to play games and see movies, I want to buy the best quality monitor to use for at least 4 or 5 years with the best quality current reproduction tecnology, and I suppose that a LCD 120hz monitor is something... obsolete?

I would not like to buy the Samsung 2233rz monitor and discover in only 5 months that a newer and better monitor is avilable with good dark scenes reproduction... and capable to reproduce TV, and different inputs (hdmi, dvi, vga, etc, etc, etc)... and maybe capable to make me a fried egg in the morning.

In other words, I want to know it this 2233rz monitor is a good choice to buy today.

Samsung 2233RZ is extremely bad monitor that will never realize your use cases.
It has really unquality TN matrix where all colors are bad.
You need LED monitor (but there are no as I know compatible with 3d vision).

But I have to recommend not to buy any LCD tech for 3d vision, you must have DLP tv/monitor/projector.

I must disagree with Trek on this one, the samsung I have gives me fairly rich color and is far superior to my old lcd.

Though like all lcd's it may not be dlp quality, it is not in any way a bad monitor. I game on mine 4-6 hours a day. I would recommend going to a computer store like ncix, or any other place and checking the color and quality yourself. The colors have to be tuned but as soon as they are it is a beautiful monitor. There have been a few bad ones that slipped out. {But hey we live in a society where mediocrity is something people try to achieve.} 20000:1 contrast ratio makes a huge difference, not to mention the 120hz refresh rate.

Don't take anyones word go check it out and see it for yourself. Then you can see the differences. Reading through Treks ealier posts on ghosting and sync issues it's possible he got one of the bad ones. Mine is great and I love it. {Though I will be upgrading to a bigger one when they become available. } DLP's suck huge power, and good 3d projectors are big $$.

Samsung monitor does not have HDMI, I do not know what he meant by tv support.
Samsung monitor can not fullfill his requirements, it is TN monitor, I have also S-PVA monitor and TN monitor will never deliver proper colors and black nor viewing angles.
Samsung monitor has noticable backlight bleeding (in comparision with S-PVA), can never deliver true black.
You upgraded from old monitor so it is difference for you, but I have good stuff and Samsung monitor in nowadays technology is ordinary stuff, not very good.

I have it only because of stereo.

I also think that LCD is a mature technology, even with 120Hz, there is no other reason for it to be that poor. A majority of the owners seem to be content with its performance, more of a reason to think that Trek just be unlucky to get one of the bad monitors. I wonder why he doesn't return and exchange for another bundle.

Regarding DLP's power consumption statement, I must disagree. The Samsung DLP is one of the most energy green compared to other TV technologies, here're some excerpts about its power usage:

http://www.practical-home-theater-guide.co...television.html

"...The LED light pack produce a more directional and effective light source. This leads to more efficient use of the light power. The result is lower electricity consumption than conventional lamp RPTVs; it is also substantially lower than that of LCDs and the power-hungry plasmas HDTVs.

Less power also means that LED-based DLPs generate less heat - meaning they need less fan action; again, this translates to a more quiet cooling system."

From personal experience, my 61in LED DLP runs practically all day and it's always cool to the hand at the ventilation grid while 24in Dell's LCD monitor is always warm. The DLP TV is cool when stand closed up to the screen but the Dell is definitely can warm your face with the same distance.

Buhehe, I have good monitor, but if you stand this Samsung 2233RZ and S-PVA next to it then this is different story.
So you are saying that Samsung 2233RZ is gonna deliver him what he needs?

HDMI input, good color reproduction and so on?

This is also true for other LCDs compared with S-PVA not just the 2233RZ I don't think.

Let just say this, if I didn't have the Samsung DLP TV already I would not hesitate to buy the 2233RZ, in the end, the OP must decide based on the info he gathers here and other fora. I have owned enough S3D gaming gears over the years to know that it is the way to go presently due to pageflipping from Nvidia driver that only works with it and similar LCDs from Viewsonic. On the other hand, a LED DLP TV from Samsung is priced at around 1500USD, beside being an amazing HDTV that it can also be used as a superlative S3D screen with no flickers and no ghosting and did I mention large (61in, 67in)? Just something to consider.

This thread is not about DLP tv which we all know are perfect.
He wants monitor and you are saying that 2233RZ will satisfy his requirements? HDMI input and so on?

This is strong cofee.
