Is GTA 4 3D ready?

Is it 3D ready or are the dev working on it?

Also i have another question while im at it. Does playing a game in 120hz require more video card juice than playing in 60hz?

Almost every game works with 3d vision. How good it works? Thats another question. 3d vision stresses your system like no other. It will cut your frame rates almost in 1/2 with stereoscopic 3d mode turned on

Oh! I didnt know that. I take it 3D vision is GPU intensive...do you know if it affect the CPU a lot?

Go to Tomshardware.com. They did a full review of Nvidia 3d vision. The link is on it's main page on the left hand side. 3d vision stresses out everything on you computer. It works best with a quad core processor. Games havn't came out that fully support 3d vision software (encrypted in games) except for WOW. In the future games that will use code to work with Nvidia 3d vision will fully utilize all 4 cores on your CPU

It really does cut the FPS in half...and maybe a little more. I really like the idea of 3D and i really think it's the future of gaming and movie but personally i will need to wait some more. Maybe later this year i will replay my older games in 3D.

Thx for answering /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Hi

Right now we do not have a profile for GTA4. We are still working with the developer to try to enable the game to work in 3D.

I'd be interested in seeing GTA 4 in S3D as well. Way back when I was new to S3D with my E-D glasses, I was blown away with GTA 3.

is there any light at the end of the tunnel?
i am considering to play sometimes soon and wondering if i need to wait a little more for 3d vision profile or it is very unlikely to happen?

GTA 4 was plenty playable when I tried it. The only thing is that I was not able to play with the high texture settings. It might be possible with 2gb of vram, but on my 3xgtx280s it was not possible at all. Other than that, the shadows were at the wrong depth during certain parts of the day, but not others, it is pretty weird.

Wow, GTA 4 looks very good!!
Why didn't you add it to the list of supported games?!
This can be a game-changer for many of gamers who hesitate to buy 3d vision.

ps
i could play with high textures.. eats almost all of my ~800 mb (GTX 260)

Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't for me... seems to be related to the time of the day.

That is strange. but i am glad i am lucky. GTA4 looks and plays awesome! I definitely do NOT have problems with shadows. The only 3d vision related problem is close shots of the objects in cut-scenes, but it is common problem in the games.
