Same here, if they only work for 20 mins they are next to useless. Maybe the new driver will help.

I still think you should give Tech Support a try. If nothing else, at least maybe you can initiate a RMA to test if maybe it's some sort of crazy hardware malfunction of the emitter or something. At this point, unfortunately, I don't see any other option. In any case, I think you'll have more luck getting help from actual nvidia tech support than depending on a forum member who happens to have put @nvidia in their forum name.
Hello all

I am getting nervous here about using my Nvidia 3D vision glasses.
last week i bought a new computer and put all the parts together myself, here is the specs:

- BFG GeForce GTX 285 OC
- Intel Core i7-920 / 2.66GHz Processor
- ASUS Rampage II Extreme Republic of Gamers Mobo, ATX - iX58 - LGA1366 Socket
- Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 - 1Tb intern.
- 6Gb Performance Vitesta+ DDR-III ( 3x 2GB) RAM
- ASUS DRW 20B1LT DVD+RW Drive
- LC Power Legion X LC1050 V2.9 1000W

Running Windows Vista Business 64bit.

then i went and bought the Nvidia 3D Vision and Samsung 2233RZ bundle to play with.
I had no problems installing neither the Hardware or Software for this.

BUT whenever i play with the glasses, it seems like after 20-40 min my computer just shuts down completely and restarts itself right away, this did NOT happen to any of my games before i started using 3D glasses. ( btw, 1 time it even showed a blue screen with some white text for 1-2sec and then shut down)

this has happened for me ever single time i play, so please HELP :)

I Am really wondering what the hell this could be, i dont know much about computers hehe. But i dont think my expensive hardware is fond of this (doesnt it damage it?) :o

All help apprecietaed! Thanks.
Sounds like overheat for me. That BFG OC card can generate a lot of heat in very short time. Also the PSU may have problem switching between different power output modes.

I always had overheating problem with any case I used, so this time I got Antec Skeleton, and it worked perfectly.

Got exactlly the same problem. BUT, before i used a 64 Bit System everything worked fine.

I just changed my 32 bit Vista to a 64 bit win7rc1 and now every game crashes with a bluesscreen and a restart.

Maybe Nvidia f***** up the 64Bit support?!

The other thing I would certainly try is swapping memory around if you can, even if its just to remove one memory module. When I have a machine that just goes lights out, its been memory chips not seated or incompatible with the MOBO or OS.

Windows 7 is still a beta release, you cant expect that to work yet. Microsoft lets the world do their debugging by releasing stuff about 2 years early.

I know that win 7 is beta, but it really works great, love it. :)

I fixed my bulescreen problem.

I use dualview, and after deactivating my second tft all game seem to work.

I tried it several times ...

Hello Bondoman,

I originally thought that your motherboard wasn't happy with your RAM timings, but since you are able to play games on high settings without 3D vision, I guess that's not a problem.

The specs for your BFG card requires 12V with a combined current rating of 42A. Your power supply has 4 12V rails, two of them are rated at 20A and two at 36A. I would suggested checking and making sure that you did NOT use the two rails rated at 20A since that only provides 40A. You may want to use a 20A and a 36A rail, so that you add another gfx card in the future.

Good Luck!

Hi there.

I know it’s an old thread but I just want to say: I have the same problem, but on 20 computers.

Bluescreen and lock are different: complete system shutdown is another ball game. And I am sad to say its seem to be related with hardware compatibility.
I have 20 computers for my office: All same setup (see at the end of the post); All 20 computer shutdown after 20 - 30 mins. (When doing 3D gaming) In latest game (like AION) with the latest Driver, now it shutdown when entering a specific area.

Watt and Heat are not an issue, I tested them extensively. In ASUS forum, I bump in some folk with the same shutdown issue. No help from nVidia or Asus on the topic.

I normally would have thought that someone who manages to reproduce a faulty hardware issue on 20 computers would have raised their attention; but no.

Setup:
Motherboard: ASUS P5N32-E SLI PLUS
VideoCard : GeForce 8800 Ultra
OS: Windows Vista 32 bits
Memory: 4x 1GB Kingston / DDR2 PC2-5300
Power Supply: 750w (From Asus Calculator, my requirements is 600w)

Hmm. I have an Asus motherboard too. Have a look at my latest reply in this thread:

You see I have multiple issues with my 3D Vision. After lika a maximum of 30 minutes I get a bluescreen. And right from the start my 3D Vision enables and disables itself all the time. That hasn't happend with RE5 though. But with games like Batman, NFS Shift och Left 4 Dead it happens all the time.

Hey AntiKrist!

I have progress a little in my investigation. I manage to reproduce the shutdown event, something I wasnt able before. In Aion, a specific quest let me enter a zone. As soon as enter the zone and turn to view the landscape, the computer shutdown.

Before, the shutdown was *random* but the pattern was: older game shutdown less, older driver shutdown less. New driver with new game shutdown more. In World of Warcraft, it was even worst, a specific class will trigger more shutdown. (Rogue vs Shaman) All this lead me to beleive that a specific advance feature / effect create that shutdown.

I have no clue how this is possible, and it's not one physicial component that is broken as I can reproduce the bug on all 20 computers. Actually, I did on 7 and assume my 13 others will gaves the same result! =)

But clearly, something with the Asus - Nvidia Motherboard + NVidia Card trigger the shutdown. And the result is a 3k rig cant play a normal 3D game. And no one care. =)

The only driver I didnt install was the nforce_winvista32_15.01_international.exe (for the mobo) and the other version you can get via Windows Update. Both lead to a blue screen as discussed here.

Only advice from nVidia was to disable Windows Update. (?!?)

Here is my thread on Asus:

I also tried this guy advice. I will keep you posted.
