Deactivation of 3d Screenshots
  1 / 2
Hello there, the web isnt very helpful for that theme. I want to deactivate these shit .jps screenshots. Im not using 3d and never will. I want to make normal ingame Screenshots but EVERY screenshot is in this jps shit format. There is NO help to do that. There is no easy menu point to disable. There is no walkthrough on the internet for that. I searched google for about 2 hours and didnt found a possibility. Even the NVIDIA help is not helpful.... Plz i dont want to have 3d screens that i cant use!

Umm, it's pretty simple. When installing the drivers, select the custom install option. Uncheck the 3D Vision portion of the driver. Sorry to hear that you are not using 3D Vision and never will. You have no idea what you are missing.

What do you do to capture screen shots? Steam F12? Nvidia ctrl + alt + F1, fraps or other like print screen button.

Nvidia uses a special hotkey for 3D (jps) screenshots. Don't use that one, just use the general screenshot key one for your system. For example in Steam games I think it's F12. For you, the dedicated printscreen" button (next to Scroll Lock, and Pause/Break buttons) might be enough.

Print Screen should save the image to your clipboard. What program/software are you pasteing the image to? Or is this happening in a particular game?

Print Screen ingame of Guild Wars 2 creates a Screenshot. Since i got this nvidia driver/card with my new pc it gives me jps files. Ingame is no option for 3d cause GW2 is not ment to be 3d. So it has to be something with the driver.

Totally bizarre. If you don't have 3D hardware it definitely should not create JPS. Check your Registry key:
Windows 64-bit: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D] “SaveStereoImage”=dword:0000002c Windows 32-bit: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D] “SaveStereoImage”=dword:0000002c - See more at: http://3dvision-blog.com/83-how-to-take-in-game-3d-stereo-screenshots-in-jps-format/#sthash.7NtZFlkJ.dpuf
SaveStereoImage should normally be 0x470. If it's 0x2C like above, that's why PrintScreen is making JPS.

You said you uninstalled 3D Vision. The better option is to reinstall the driver. Choose "Custom" Uncheck the 3D Vision box. Check "Clean Install" box, this will reset the registry entries.

Why not rename the freaking extension from JPS to JPG??? After all is the same FORMAT..... JPS is just a JPG-STEREO variant... I don't think Guild wars knows how to create proper Stereo JPGs anyway....

Before it was a normal JPG. @helifax and thats the point. It creates a screenshot with 2 times the same. Simply renaming doesnt make it better. Still 2 screens where u cant see the half of the point u wanted screenshot. You have to zoom and cut out the half picture with every screenshot. Can get very annyoing. Ill go check the registry now for what bob wrote. Thx. EDIT: Okay there is no such key cause nvidia 3d is not installed. With command line -bmp it creates bmp screens but still in JPS format :D with 2 times the screen... so im out off possibilies

Could it be one of the many Windows 8.1 related bugs? What happens if you use print screen on this forum webpage? What if you reset the in-game keybinding to another key?

On the GW2 wiki under the screenshots section it says this:
Normal screenshot: Print Screen Stereoscopic screenshots: no key binding by default; one must be assigned in Options.
... maybe you could try setting a(different) key for S3D screenshots, or different keys for both ... it looks like you need an account and or to register to try the game, otherwise I'd give it a shot myself but I'm not really interested in it. edit: looks like D-Man either ninja'd me or Dr. Who'd me there. :)
