EDID Override is popular today, downsample EDID override trick?
Hey,
I have a Samsung 3D LED TV 40" F6100 being used as a monitor,I play via 3DTV play and I'd like to get rid of the 1080p@24hz,720p@60hz limit of HDMI using an EDID override.I have a GTX 770, I mention this to clearify that I'm not that guy who tries to play with a Nvidia software using an Ati card:)
I know we can't do anything about those limits, so I'd like to downsample to 720p (The games render at 1080p, but the resolution remains 720p). As you can only downsample to your native resolution which is 1080p currently, I'd like to set the native resolution to 720p via a 720p monitor EDID override, or any other way if there's any.So is it possible to do this? Can I just simply edit my EDID somehow to think 720p is my native res.?
I think it's strongly connected to 3D, so that's why i post it on this forum. Thanks guys.

There have been attempts to do this, but none successful so far. If you find a way to manually edit the EDID to get this working, please let us know. More info here.

GeDoSaTo allows you to render from a higher resolution and display it at your native res.
I have a 3D Vision monitor so I use it to render games at 4K but still play them in 3D. You could do something similar except downsampling to 720 instead.

I've managed to keep the '3DTV Play' option in the Nvidia control panel, but if I enable DSR, I don't get the DSR tab, as the new resolutions shows up under the 'HD 3D' tab. Any idea how to work this out?
