Star citizien TRUE stereoscopic 3D

He's been talking about 3D support for quite a while. Always got the impression he was a big 3D fan. Remember an article a while ago where he even wondered if the initial buzz over the Oculus Rift was from mainstreamers never seeing quality 3D before (specifically compared it to the already high quality that was obtainable with 3D Vision).
Did you make them on 3D Surround or you FOV is maxed out ?
I made the captures with 3D surround. The next update of the hangar (11.2) will have more improvements in 3D (Dual rendering) :) and will solve more issues in Oculus rift. I will comment changes ;).

Can you ask them (if you have a chance) if there is a more 3D options in there. I mean if they support Dual Projection setup. I am mostly after 3D Vison but i also have that 150 inch setup. Would be soo good to see it again in action.

Tried this out today. Looks promising although I have a lot of glitches right now due to running SLI. Looks almost 3d ready even at this rough alpha stage.

Interesting. It seems Chris does not use engine stereo, but make another 3D in order to support Rift. Hm..

Note: Rift support is different to 3d vision support.

Nope. At least, not in any significant way. 3d vision automates the process of rendering the stereo view, while rift support renders the image twice in-engine on the one screen. I've tried a number of rift titles on my monitor and a borrowed rift, and I never saw a situation where rift support guaranteed 3d vision support.

I was led to believe it is somehow tied, because in Assetto Corsa, Rift users have the same issues as us, with broken rear view mirrors and skybox depth problems

It's possible for similar issues to come up because devs have "cheated" to make stuff work in 2d, but the two things are otherwise separate.

I played arena commander with the following setup tonight. HOTAS X52pro TrackIR (for head tracking targeting) voice attack (to give commands with your voice) and nvidia 3dVision! It was so real, I couldn't believe it. Specially with the possibility to look where I want thanks to track ir. In this game with track ir you are able to aim your ships guns with your head. It was the first time I found even the radar usefull. Thanks to the fact that the radar is in real 3d, I could tell now if someone is in my front or in my back by watching the radar. Thanks to voice attack, I didn't need to see anything apart from the action. It was so cool to watch missiles in 3d pass your spacecraft nearby and be able to follow their way with your head and watch how they are trying to get you, while you try to get away. There are still some lights and objects rendering at wrong 3d depth, but overall its already better than most 3dvision ready titles ;-).
