I'm planning to buy this projector, but before that I do hope to have some questions answered.
My room is rather small, the max throw distance possible is circa 4m with a wall width of 2.8m max, so was wondering if I was sitting about 1.2m away from the wall screen, how much % of my entire vision can be filled when watching movies/playing games in 3D?
In that scenario, is it possible to immerse in the true 3D environment, like really as though being in the scene itself?

I recently purchased the H5360 and game / watch films in 3D in a similar size room and sit about 1.4m from the screen, the projector throw distance is about 2.3m and that gives me a projected image size of about 1.5m x 0.75m and can see 100% of the action - no problem. Have got it set up with an Ubutto cockpit rig - so driving / racing in 3d means you are totally immersed in the game and flipping the keyboard arm means I can play FPS from the same position - again Just Cause / Tomb Raider / CoD MW / Far Cry etc are cracking.
The H5360 is much better than any monitor - and even though the resolution is lower at 720p the experience is far better - would never go back to a monitor now.
is your peripheral (side) vision still filled beyond the outside margin of the screen?
No - not really, as you right in the action you will notice anything on the periphery - I have a painting on one side and a wardrobe on the other and when you getting the back end out going round a corner or sniping in the undergrowth you will feel as if you are there (particularly if you have got a decent set of speakers and some good cans).
also, what sort of screen is recommended for movies?
I am pretty sure there is a thread already started on screens - personally I don't use one, I project straight onto the wall, which is very, very pale blue and use the option in projector menu which auto adjusts for different background colours and I get a really clean image - good blacks and colours.

First of all: Use this.
For 3d:
"Where the brightness is not enough"
Option 1: Get cheap projection material on ebay and tension it . You can have it for like 60-70 usd including postage. This is only good for smaller screens imho below 65".
Option 2: Get a semi thick MDF sheet , laminated. You have to coat it with white paint again, cause the lamination is not good enough for base coat. Spray "decor" silver stuff on it , the one that contains metal flakes (not some fake*ss grey thing). Alternatively, get some car paint shop to do it for you.
Option 3 ( the best): If you are like me , and have to puke because of the paint idea, this is for you: http://readalert.atw.hu/THE_ULTRA_HIGH_GAIN_SCREEN.pdf
For 2d:
"The brightness is way too much", even in eco mode (1400 lumen , and you want around 800! ) . So your options:
1. Easiest: switch on 120hz mode , this cuts down brightness to 800 lumen instantly at the cost of contrast ( you end up with 1100 contrast), and matte white screen.
2. Project onto dark grey painted screen ( gain factor 0.5 - 0.6 ) this goin to improve perceived contrast, these are so called high contrast screens.
3. (the best) Cut brightness by other means -builtin iris (actually improves contrast, not just percieved), -darkening foil in front of pj (wont improve contrast) and matte white screen.

So I think there should be 2 screens, one for 3d , and the other in front of it for 2d (maybe motorised).
-Read stuff at avsforum , -everything is there, including paint mixes.

my main concern as previously mentioned is whether with throw distance of bout 4m, will my entire (or at least almost entire) vision be filled with the screen margins.
secondly is about the brightness itself. the room isn't completely dark, although i used 2 layers of black colored curtains light is still able to enter, so was wondering if it is necessary to get a screen with >1 gain.
Also, is it possible to place the projector js below the ceiling and project downwards?
lastly is that since i have never tried out any 3D monitors/projectors before, suffice to say i have close to no experience in their effects; but i guess the only way to find out is getting one.

or is there any other nvidia 3D vision ready projectors which are better than this model? able to provide a larger width and height for the same throw distance, better brightness, better experience

I think I would want to watch a 100" 720p screen at 2 meters , minimum. Right now the pj is just above my head with 100". And thats ultra comfortable to me, if anything , a second pj would be necessary If I wanted to upgrade. There will be no 2 pj 'surround, however.
Light blocking: what you want is called blackout cloth. But not the windows are the problem but the walls themselves, they reflect light back onto the screen killing contrast, so you would want to put dark courtain onto walls and blackout cloth onto window ;)
As for "VR like settings", I prefer 3rd person games, with the player siluette popping out of the screen 1-1.5 meters. I even modded 3rd person view into Borderlands and its much better, I think its better because you see more of the terrain, hence more tactical possibilities your mind can explore. I definately prefer this over "VR" .................
- You can't really play FPS games with pop out , so if any game could be played in 3rd person, that would be the best for me LOL.
Any DLP seems to be the more or less the same right now, they are some noisy things though, Im goin to build a box for it, these are called hush box.
