Help with 3DTV Play and Vizio TV 3DTV Play not working with XVT3D554SV...
I'm using a Vizio XVT3D554SV 3D TV. I have a 1.4 HDMI cable connected (confirmed by the control center). It's connected to an m17x R1 laptop using SLI GTX 260m.
I can't get 3D TV play to work on my TV/PC. I'm testing with Just Cause 2, and when I download the drivers and 3D Vision it plays in the Anaglyph 3D (red-cyan), even on the TV, but the glasses don't do anything, and it doesn't display the 3DTV Play logo the way it's supposed to in the control center.
I initially installed the 266.35 beta graphics drivers first and bought the 3DTV Play software standalone for $40. I do not have nor want the 3D vision bundle as I already have a 3DTV and the compatible glasses for it. According to the setup steps I then have to install the 3DTV Play software, the 3D Vision Controller Utility, and the 3DTV Play Update Utility since my TV requires the update to be recognized. I did so, however when starting the install for the controller utility it goes through the set up with the 3D vision glasses, which I don't have. I've tried not doing it, and I've tried selecting the correct shapes without the glasses to bypass it, however in the stereoscopic set up I do not see the 3DTV Play logo as I'm supposed to. I then tried with the 260 drivers as well as tried installing all of it in a different order.
I'm wondering if there is just no way to get this to work with the SLI GTX 260m cards? If that's the case, why? It can get the 3D vision to play Just Cause, and in the Change Resolution it recognizes the model number of the TV as one of the displays, but it does not show me HD 3D as an option as I read on another forum regarding a 42inch version of my TV (another user who had a problem that just cleared itself up, this user however did have a 460m).
I'm also wondering if I need the IR emitter from the 3D vision bundle as I read in the pdf set up guide that the emitter is necessary to activate 3DTV Play licensing or some nonsense, which makes sense for the free upgrade but not for the purchased version that is specifically so you don't have to get the vision bundle and can use the 3D capability from your TV and glasses. If it's the IR emitter that's the issue (I don't know if the other user had the IR emitter) that seems dumb. Is there a cheap/free way of getting around this? Or is it that the 260m just won't work even tho it runs 3D, all the drivers are compatible, and the TV is (sort of) recognized? Even with SLI enabled?
It just seems weird that the cards are processing the 3D image, and the TV is being recognized, but the 3DTV Play logo is not showing up and the glasses aren't functioning. Where is the disconnect? I've also tried turning 3D mode on on the TV itself which doesn't seem to do anything more helpful than two very separate images transposed over each other with no apparent logic behind it, and completely regardless of what's on the screen.

I don't see the 260m on their list of supported graphics cards. I think your going to have to upgrade to at least the 335M.
I will actually be using a desktop with the 560 Ti. Hope it works well on this tv as the card/software is expensive.
