Hello everyone,
I received my 3D Vision 2 system today, but I am having difficulties just trying to get it set up. Maybe I've assumed a couple of things, but I leave it to the experts here to point me in the right direction.
Connections:
I have an LCD display with HDMI inputs and an HTPC with a GeForce 610 card connected through the HDMI.
The only cable from the emitter is going to the PC for the USB connection.
Software:
The drivers are up to date as far as I can tell.
When I run the stereoscopic setup, it seems to be asking for a dual link DVI cable between by display and the emitter. I don't have one of these...HDMI connections are available and I am using them as I type this.
The Nvidia USB emitter shows up in the device manager under USB devices, with no issues.
Sooooo...is this a compatibility issue? You can't make this work through HDMI?
If anybody knows what I should try, please let me know. At the moment, I
am stuck, and not sure if the hardware is even compatible...

1280x720 is the highest resolution that is within the bandwidth of single link DVI (165Mhz)
Even if your monitor supports 120hz input and windows is outputing images at 120hz there is no 3D Vision compatible monitor with such a small resolution.
HDMI input is only supported on 3DTV's and already supported 3D monitors like my ASUS VG278H.

What more can you ask for?
When 99.9% of all computer monitors don't work with 3D Vision it becomes quite cruicial to use a supported monitor.
If you are talking about the Samsung LN52A630 TV the answer is that it is quite old and does not support 3D at all.
Thus not supported via HDMI 1.4a framepacked.
That TV has motion plus 120hz and displays interpolated 120hz from at most 60hz input.
When you will be able to get it working.
Also your GeForce 610 doesn't seem to support 3D Vision either and even if it did, you wouldn't be able to play any games in 3D with it because it just doesn't have the horsepower. Don't know if it's even enough to watch 3D movies either really. What's included in this 3D Vision 2 system you're talking about?

The 610's really that bad? I had a 550ti, $100 refurb at the time, and it worked really well in 3D on some of [s]the best[/s] my favorite games, Dead Space 1, 2, and Alan Wake. Then I upgraded to a 670 and am so far very pleased with it.

The 550ti and especially 670 are in a totally different league than the 610. As you can see here: [url]http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gt-610[/url], 3D Vision isn't mentioned in the supported technologies section.
That may be where some of the confusion is coming from...the 610 packaging says it is capable a d the driver a knowledges it.
I feel the real hurdle is in the non-native 120 us refresh rate...
