Ok so been looking for what seems endlessly, only to run into road block after road block on this.
I actually bought a 51' samsung plasma and was going to use tridef to achieve the 1080p 60hz. It ended up getting here with a shattered internal screen (known issue apparently with that model). So I got a refund.
Then I found out the tridef software still isn't true 1080p @ 60hz with hdmi.
At this point, I don't care if it's hdmi anymore lol.
I have a evga gtx 680.
I'm willing to go with dvi. (Is it just any regular old dvi standard cable?)
What TV's out there over 40 inches that are "not" plasma are able to do the 1080p true 60 hz over dvi ?
My reasons for no plasma, they have major issues in general lately it seems.
Without mods, and without tridef.
Is this something we "have" to wait for hdmi 2.0 on ?
If its possible with dvi over 40' true 1080 @ 60, is there any feedback from people who actually have it ? not just speculating and posting stuff theyve read.
If so, do tell, what tv did you get and is it under 700$ LOL

Biggest 1080P is a monitor at 27". You need dvi-d[Displays come with them]
Biggest tv display at 720P is dlp. [They are the best for 3D]
Projectors are 1080p@24hz[Not good enough for gaming] / 720p @ 60hz.
Any of the above is below your price range but they are your only options.
If you want a monitor/tv/projector you need to make sure its on nvidia's 3d vision/tv play supported list.

So basically, there isn't anything that big with DVI, and were all pretty much waiting on the 4k tv's with hdmi 2.0 ? Just to be sure I understand the underlinings of your post lol
(Also I dont mind using 3dtv play to achieve the 1080p @ 60 true either, doesn't have to be 3d vision)

*Shrug* Im happy with 720P projector. I made a big fuss when I got it about it being 720P. Best move I made for me personally [Cant say for you] If a 1080p one came out I'd be happier. I get by fine with nvidia inspector overrides / heavy aa.
Can go multi-monitor.

I've been wanting it for years , maybe a few years ago I wouldve settled for it, I'm sure i'd love it even at 720.
Still, just something inside of me after waiting. I want the full effects of for the first time I spend the $ on a 3d setup.
Thanks Eqz. Guess I'll be waiting another year ish for hdmi 2.0 affordably *cries a bit*

I still think HDMI 2.0 3D HDTVs will launch using a Type B HDMI cable.
4K TVs are only running at 30Hz in 2D via a single link Display port, Dual inputs are needed for 60Hz. (which Nvidia does not support)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6T7pdrOipuI
Now that Display Port is being adapted into 4K TVs, we might see a 120Hz 1080P 3D HDTV via a DP connection soon.
The problem is that HDMI does not currently have enough bandwidth to support 1080p@60Hz. That's why you can't find anything that supports it. TVs typically do not support DVI as it is a 'computer' connection not a 'TV' connection. Like there's a huge difference, I know.
Don't wait- Buy an Acer H5360 projector for $500, and run 3D now. You can make the screen gigantic, like 120". It can be as small as 80", at 10 feet away. The 3D on it is absolutely terrific.
Then, next year, IF they come out with something sensible, sell your projector and switch.
I say, never wait for the future, it may never arrive. And it's nearly always longer than they say.

I can't wait for DLP projectors makers to do something about the resolution, it's such an affordable yet perfect choice for 3D. My DLP TV is incredible @ 1080p ... but everyone stopped making them.
I really wish NVIDIA would get more involved in this instead of all that other useless, well to me anyway, stuff. An NVIDIA endorsed projector that does at least 1080p, or a double wide resolution like 3840x1080p or higher ... surround without bezels ... I can dream can't I? :)

rofl dream away, I sure the hell am :P
Bob, you are the man, I am checking that exact projector out right now. If this works, your getting a cake sir, a (&$%(*$% CAKE :)
I did purchase the H5360 not long ago on sale and its wokring great with the 3dvision2 kit I had earlier. I have literally almost a whole wall as a screen in my living room aprox. 2meters high not sure about the width as I never really counted it, with wireless mouse/keyboard/pad I woudn't trade that for console ;) I'm not using it for competitive bf3 but for games like TR, Maxpayne3, Remember Me, etc. its really great,
Think of where you want to set it up, if you dont have much space or just want to have it set up differently have a look at short-throw projectors like this http://benq.com/product/projector/W710ST/specifications you'll get a massive screen from like a meter away to get my screen big enough I have to have the projector set on the other side of the room which might be inconvenient for some.

If you can try checkerboard 3D on a Samsung, its basically very very close to 1080p, not quite there, but very close. I use a 46" ES7500 at the back of my desk. Love it.
