The first Assassin's Creed game is one of the best games to play in 3D, so I'm hoping that Assassin's Creed II will continue with that when it's released next week. Has there been any word on how it runs in 3D?

I am guessing it will be ok, as long as we get a profile for it. I read it is DX9 only.

I don't care... that stupid DRM making the internet connection mandatory to play a solo game makes me boycott that game.
It's a shame, the first one worked great in 3D and i really liked it.

No matter what they do and how strict the DRM, the game will be in the hands of pirates on launch day, guaranteed.

what's sad is i have it for PS3 allready.... i haven't even completed 25% of it. Pasrt one was more visually appealing to me.
I want to start a company where I can provide a software pack for a game. for every console copy you buy you get one PC copy also maybe a small 10 dollar charge, to help cover porting cost. :)

How disappointing. It's completely unplayable at the default convergence unless you're at 15% depth, and even with no convergence at all there's still a lot of ghosting.

Oh dear! I was looking for that game so much :'(
Can You describe what kind of ghosting You observe: is it the "normal" ghosting caused by light/dark contrasts or is it a ghosting caused by dust, bloom or blur post effects (a kind of halo around characters)? Does it help to change in game settings? What about water surfaces and shadows - are there irritating effects?
Can You post some screenshots (Alt+F1)?

My original display name is 3d4dd - for some reason Nvidia changed it..?!
As you can see, looking away from Ezio and into the distance (which is obviously where you'll need to be looking while playing this game) causes two Ezios to appear. Which is quite rubbish.
However, when you decrease the convergence you can get up to 100% depth without there being any problems, as seen here:
[attachment=16182:Assassin...ame03_50.jps]
Before I was doing that at the very start of the game where you're controlling Desmond, and I'm guessing that the lighting caused the severe ghosting. It would appear that once you're actually in the Animus stuff the ghosting goes away. It still doesn't look amazing like that without any convergence, but it's certainly playable now (whereas the ghosting was just too bad at the very start of the game).
Then I tried taking it down to 15% depth and increasing the convergence as much as I could without it looking terrible. I got decent results with that, but it's not particularly great:
[attachment=16183:Assassin...ame04_50.jps]
All in all, after it was pretty much unplayable at the very start while controlling Desmon due to ghosting, once actually controlling Ezio the ghosting almost goes away if you reduce the convergence. This doesn't seem to be a great looking game in 3D, but there aren't major issues for the most part.
EDIT: Ok, after a bit of tweaking I've actually managed to get it looking fairly nice. I'm starting to think that this game could actually look great with enough tweaking of the convergence and depth, but I'm not very good at that so I'll settle for this.
Hmm, I possibly spoke a little bit too soon actually.
