Indigomod - DX11 wrapper by Chiri and elbarterino - Bioshock Infinite

mbloof, disable one of your cards. You'll notice no performance difference. And most 3d-vision monitors with HDMI do not support SBS or TB. TVs do, but not 3d-vision monitors. Mine does, but I'm very much in the minority.

Tridef doesn't support hdmi on Nvidia cards.
It does if your monitor can handle side-by-side input. Most don't, I got lucky. That's how I've already played Bioshock Infinite in 3d.
Actually, if your monitor has a HDMI 1.4a (SBS or TB) input Tridef will work fine (this is how I'm currently playing Bioshock) however the (dual) DVI-D and other 3D input methods may not work. Its rather doubtful that it will drive a 3DVision emitter.
While their 'power 3D' looks about as fake as it gets, the current default profile (and using their real 3D solution/settings) for BI looks pretty darn good. BOTH of my 570's are 'singing' (YES, SLI DOES work) and I can maintain >60FPS fairly easy with high-very high picture quality settings. It'd be nice to use the 'ultra' preset in 3D but was unable to in 2D @ 1080P/60FPS so I don't mind.
Granted, I have to manually set the output to SBS and hit the S3D button on the TV remote every time I start the game up but so far it appears fully functional.
Back on topic - the 'DX11 wrapper' may be just what the DR ordered for those stuck with 3DVision specific hardware (or not enough CPU+GPU(s) to drive the Tridef solution) but I'll likely upgrade my setup to dual 780SC's before donating to a project with questionable needs+requirements+results.
OpenGL supports SLI. At least the indicators show it running...However I get ALOOOT more performance IF I DISABLE one GPU....funny....
SLI will not work if the APP doesn't use it (specially coded support). nVidia themselves said it... Ofc you can do some nice tricks with Inspector but so far the real deal is in the APP
As for the wrapper...I have high expectations of it(in general). It proves that DX11 shaders disassembled, can be reverse engineered and re-loaded on the GPU. It opens the door to alot of things...even for Tridef. You would be amazed to see that...
As for 3D Vision VS Tridef performance:
Bioshock Infinite:
3D Vision running on a GTX590 (2 GPUs power equivalent around to a GTX 680) on 3 Screens (total resolution 5040x1050 without bezels) on an i5 3570k @ 4.6Ghz everything on absolute maximum (except AA which is capped at 2x by the driver) I get 60fps constant (capped again by the driver) but unplayable 3D ofc.
on Tridef I struggle to keep the 60fps on my TV which is 1080p same settings same computer but 1 GPU (which actually gives better performance than 2)
Like I said, Tridef is awesome as an alternative but is not the "real deal". I am really sad since I would love to see it at least close to 3D Vision in terms of performance..but sadly is not...:(
If you can add support for the Rift and get the word out to enough people, it may increase donations. That being said, there are a number of people working on various rift wrappers already, including for Bioshock Infinite. That could make it less valuable.
I really don't have any faith in either of the two Rift wrappers. One is depth buffer and worked on by one person for a consumer release. The other had a lot of issues and its currently not working it has a lot of drama it seems as well.

I'd love to get any news on how the wrapper currently works with AC3 (after the latest updates), and Chiri's appraisal of the difficulty in fixing that game. It's the "other" major title of late to be DX11 and completely broken, and unlike Bioshock Infinite, I've not yet played it (much). I've donated $200 so far (and will kick in more if it's getting close in the last day), but that's what I'm really hoping for a fix for. I'm fully aware this campaign is only for BI at first though, don't worry. I'm not "expecting" a fix for AC3. I'd just like to know how likely it is.

If you are at $200 another $50 buys you "+ future stuff"

I found the 3D very underwhelming - very low depth I think (and I'm not generally as fussy as others are). It just didn't feel like real 3D (and I'm pretty sure I was using the default profile) And my performance was pretty poor, even on two Titans. BI's trademark stuttering between areas got really bad (10 times worse than I ever experienced it in 2D on a single 680). Plus there were visual glitches on the water.
I don't know whether this wrapper will significantly improve my experience in BI, but I'm hopeful that it will, because as it stands, I definitely don't like the idea of relying on Tridef for all my next-gen gaming.
btw, I'm not speaking from a 3Dvision fanboy perspective here. I genuinely really wanted to love Tridef. I was particularly interested in the 'dominant eye' feature (which should allow you to squint while aiming, ending the need for separate gun sights convergence settings). I'll give it another shot if I need to, though if this wrapper is a success, hopefully I won't need to in the first place (changing cables and monitor setups to use HDMI was annoying anyway)

Well let's try and get on Reddit and mtsb3d (or whatever it's called), and Steam, 2k forums, everywhere we can, and promote the crap out of this thing.

Nvidia should have to pay the rest, as they have not qualified people to make this job (or simply they do not have any bit of interest). It is incredible some people have to do this.

Will the creation of a Bioshock Infinity patch generate any income at all for nvidia?
I can only see 3D Vision users benefiting.
ATI does nothing to get games to run in 3D.
Tridef will probably do anything they can to make games run in 3D to keep attracting customers.
When people stop buying tridef will they have the Resources to keep fixing games.

To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!

Any suggestions how a I can contact NVDIA and ask for them to donate the last 1500 bucks? I think they gave up on 3D vision based on the fact that it's not profitable for them to push it further.
But maybe they can donate as a gesture to us 3D gamers.
