So what's the story gonna be for Blu-Ray 3D? Will it be stable/supported?
Will Blu-Ray 3D support be fully present this summer for 3D Vision/Blu-Ray users?

I haven't seen much in this forum on the future of 3D movie support, and let's be honest: the current nVidia player is...eccentric. Crashes, minimal UI friendliness, yadda yadda, but most crushing of all is a pure lack of content. It will stay that way until this summer, no doubt. But the question remains: What about when that content ARRIVES? From big box office to the red light district, the 3D discs are coming, alongside the PS3 HDMI 1.4 3D format.

I get it: We are in the Beta days of the 3D movement still, and it won't really be a Gold release product until The Big Zaibatsu makes their summer push on the PS3 and goes "mainstream". If you're on this forum, you already classify as an Early Adopter type. Team Green is focusing on the PC Gamer side of the equation, and I applaud that. But to keep the haters, nay-sayers, and trolls from turning this tech that should have been embraced 5 years ago into Economic Roadkill, will require Team Green to allow a certain amount of mix-and-match compatibility. Sony is already about to shoot their console product in the foot by blocking out compatibility with anything but their Bravia TV's. I hope like hell that my new Alienware (which is also a damn 3D 1080p HDTV) and 3D Vision Glasses will work with what will become the de-facto media for 3D Home Theater. It's about selling nVidia Cards in the end, not glasses, and the GPU market could sure use the help this year if they can offer that much more support during the coming trend.

Any news on this from the 3D Summit?

I'm pretty sure both Corel(windvd) and Cybervision(powerdvd) confirmed they'll support 3d vision for 3d blu-ray. Google around a bit and you can probably find it.

Some HDMI chips have upgradeable firmware. Like the PS3. The communication protocol wil be upgraded to 1.4, but it will not have the complete feature set that native 1.4 chips have. Native 1.4 chips have more bandwidth capacity, so the ps3 can talk to other 1.4 devices but not on the higest bandwidths eg. 1080p 120hz. The PS3 can only do 3d 720p max. For 3d resolutions above 720p, an true 1.4 chip is required.
