Has any one got 480 and 3D vision piece so he/she can share his/her experience ?
I mean how well games running on 480 ? How noisy it is while using 3D ?
Is it sufficient to have one card or just be prepared to get another in SLI ?

There are already some other threads like this but,
Only a selct few so far have a 470/480 due to them being hard to get hold of.
I'd also imagine it is very noisy at %100 load if the reveiws are to go off.
Your 3rd question would depend on the game, for something like bad company 2 maxed out at 1920@1080 i'd imagine u would. Not sure on that tho... i wanna know for my self /sweat.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

if you're willing to go SLi, a gtx200-series SLi sounds more appealing than blowing money on two of these hot items (literally). I mean, you can get 2 gtx260s for pretty cheap now days...
And btw, all but a small percentage of games run great on a single gtx260/275/280. A gtx480, let alone 2 in Sli, is only going to help you out noticeably in games like... Metro2033 and other hogs. My gtx260 runs games fine in S3D, GTA4, Dragon Age, ME2, whatever, all with settings pretty much maxed (cept gta4 of course, but thats a given since its very vram dependent). In fact, the only game thats made me wish for more GPU horsepower IS metro2033, and that games is by no means worth the expensive upgrade.

I recieved my first eVGA 480SC last night. I will be posting a detailed review and stats on games in 3D with it in comparison to the 2 285s I was running in SLi.
In a nutshell I am happy, but I will be going sli.
I like to run everything at max settings and all and there are some games that 2 285s couldnt maintain 60fps in 3D. However the 480 can't maintain 60 in these same games either. It is interesting the results I got with the 480. In gaming it is on par with the 285sli as far as the numbers it puts up. Actually in things like Vantage I score higher with 2 285s and in a lot of games I see higher fps peaks. Yet, the 480 maintains better minimum framerates and still doesn't slack on the high side either. In the end the 480 provides MUCH more smooth gameplay compared to my 285s, and in the few DX11 games coming out it is adds some very nice eye candy.
edit: i havnt overclocked it any past the factory oc, there is a lot of evidence these things overclock very very well ...

That would be a great read for me. I never go SLI; I simply cannot afford that luxury. I also worry about my CPU because it is getting a little dated but again I cant see me upgrading that for a long time yet...
I agree with Steiner, most games I play run well enough - except GTA4 - but I am only ever use 2xAA unless the game is very old to keep the FPS steady.
I was interested to read you said the lower end FPS had improved because that is a biggy for me. It might not sound like much but if the game dips to a minimum of 27 FPS on heavy scenes, a few more FPSs makes a big difference. So I am looking forward to your single mode 480 post mate!

I've had a 480 for about a week and got my 2nd for SLI on Tuesday.
In a nutshell, if you were running 2xGTX 200 in SLI with 3D Vision, a single GTX 480 is a side-grade. There are some games that will run better and there will be others that run worst. It really depends on how well the game utilizes a single GPU in stereo 3D mode.
If you were running a single GTX 200 card with 3D Vision, a single GTX 480 will be a pretty big upgrade and will probably be enough to make you happy. If you were already running 2x200 in SLI, it wouldn't hurt to get 1x400 first but be ready to get another, as I don't think you will be satisfied.
If 2x200s in SLI isn't enough to max your games out at 60FPS per eye (this is why I upgraded), then you will not be happy with anything less than 2x470 or 2x480. I personally think 2x470 would be a great compromise and they're much easier to get. 2x480 if you're willing to spend and wait for better availability, but its still not going to be enough to cap some games at 60 per eye in every game with everything cranked up (BFBC2, Metro 2033, Just Cause 2), but it'll still be an excellent gaming experience with frame rates in the 40-50s and of course, much better than 2x200s. You can turn down some in-game assets (especially any AO setting) to get it closer to 60 but for the most part its not needed.
Overall I'm extremely pleased with the 3D Vision results with 2x480 SLI....32xCSAA in Dragon Age capped at 60FPS per eye.....60FPS capped in AC2 in the middle of Florence.....40+FPS always in Dawn of War 2 maxed out with 200 units on-screen....just a brilliant gaming experience.
For noise, not a huge concern unless you leave it on Auto fan profile, if you use something like Precision or Afterburner just set a user-defined profile and keep the fan at 70-75%, at those speeds its very similar to the GTX 200's sound profile.
For those hoping to run 3x1080p in 3D Vision Surround......better hope for some better Tri and Quad SLI 3D Vision drivers or be prepared to turn down a lot of IQ settings.

It would stand to reason that when they do release surround in full that they have that all squared away. Being that tri will be absolutely necessary to keep good fps in anything i 3x1080 3d ... me personally i am fine with 1 monitor lol

I have a 470 that I have not installed 3d vision yet but it's playing Battlefield BC2 with everything at full 1920x1080 120hz almost butter smooth and my fan is set at 72 which is not nearly as loud as my 360 which is near the ground and not next to my head like my comp is and the temp is at 69c.
The sound and heat are no different than the previous Nvidia cards I have owned.

I mean how well games running on 480 ? How noisy it is while using 3D ?
Is it sufficient to have one card or just be prepared to get another in SLI ?
