Using 3D Vision with regular DLP projector Does the emitter refuse to transmit in 60Hz?
Hi,

I got my 3D vision glasses to work with my standard DLP projector- well - sort of.
When I run the Test Stereoscopic 3D program, the emitter will send out sync information and the glasses will
graciously accept the input, except this will work at frequencies exceeding 60Hz, at sixty the emitter will only
send out momentary pulses and no sync.

I even made a custom resolution at one hertz higher, 61Hz which my projector accepted and the glasses worked, briefly anyway.
That makes me suspicious that the exactly 60 Hz option has been purposefully deactivated from the emitter capabilities.

85Hz ok, 61Hz ok, 60Hz no chance.

Now, this sixty hertz issue is kind of crucial to me since I'd like to play around a bit with 3D in 60Hz before forking out for a new projector,
I just bought this 1080p projector a month ago, see, and I just don't have the $10K to buy the forthcoming 1080p 120Hz projector.

To sum things up, is 60Hz purposefully deactivated? Maybe I am just being paranoid.

What would be even nicer though in addition to 60Hz is if I could scrap the VGA cable and just go with my HDMI connection.
As of now I have both a VGA and HDMI cable running parallel up to the beamer.

60 hz is just to low this only gives 30hz per eye, even if you get it working it will more than likely give you a head ache or severe eye strain

I'm kind of tolerant when it comes to flickering, I am used to 60Hz 3D from my previous pair of ancient shutterglasses,
just looking to put my expensive nvidia glasses to reasonable use waiting for true 120Hz projector prices to drop.
It was a shot in the dark for me, buying the glasses beforehand knowing there was little or no hope of getting them to work at 60Hz.
But since my previous glasses worked A-O-K @60Hz with my old 720p projector, I thought, why not, maybe this 120Hz "requirement" will end some time soon.
Or perhaps it will take so long, I will have a 120Hz projector by then.

I can't blame you for that I myself went ahead and bought a 720p projector knowing that it will be replaced when 1080p 3d ready becomes affordable

Anyway, I have struggled with this thing so long now that it is obvious for me I have to throw in the towel and buy a 120Hz projector,
no matter what, since I am sure that the industry will not allow official support for 60Hz, it is kind of taboo to include such support, it seems.
I don't care any more, I'll fork out the dough when I have it and see you in 120Hz heaven when summer comes...
