Love 3D ... but shooters get harder! Am I the only one who sucks more at games when they are 3D?

Hahaha I love this 3d Vision stuff. Got the Alienware OptX for the refresh rate for competitive cs and css and the 3dvision kit as an afterthought. But it is truly awesome. One question though …
Do you guys have the same problem as I do with FPSs just being much harder to play (not uncomfortable just … harder … like I suck at aiming now)? Maybe I have spent too much of my life in 2D worlds lol.

ya thats a common response, wait to you try mp lol. It gets more comfortable the more you try. I found my stats sucked far more after getting 3d but i dont care so much because it is so cool.

I wonder if it is because we arent used to it... I have spent an insane amount of time in 2d fps shooters, and have only had 3d vision for about a week. It might be harder to aim in general though, since the crosshair jump back and forth, and the eyes have to "align" to see people in front or behind where you are actually looking... Makes you wonder if a person had played equal amount of 3d and 2d, which of the two he would be better in.

Maybe so lol with that depth perception go dropping nades on peoples heads over walls lol.
Either way its still fun, but I don't see me playing much CS or CSS with 3d. Just single player games. Just got ME2 so I may give that a go. I know ya gotta hack it to remove the 2d crosshair that is in your face when you play lol I will chase that tonight!

Its easy, just switch an ini file. Game itself is very good, exept being a bit consolish at times. Like when you want to change your mouse sensitivity, and realize the choices are "low medium or high" xD
edit: for the record, I run low sens with 200 dpi on the mouse... low sens players dont get any love from devs...

I took a huge skill hit in TF2 when I first started playing in 3D, especially since the 3D crosshair made the game unbearably slow so I play without it usually. Now I'm used to it though and I can't tolerate playing without 3D; it just feels better and I feel gimped when I go back to 2D. I'm biting the bullet and playing BF: Bad Company 2 in 2D but I can't wait until it's released and has an official robust profile with a 3D crosshair and everything!

ITs a matter of keeping at it.
I got better playing 3d over 3d now COD4.
One thing a lot better is picking out people from distance..
Not going back to flat lands! lol

I have more problems in fastpaced games (trackmania for instance) when playing in 3d. However stats aren't that important as the 3d-experience itself. :P

3D lowers your ability in games because it forces Vsync to be enabled. This adds additional input lag over the omnipresent input lag already happening on your samsung 2233rz. If you wanna be at the top of every server - use a CRT at 120hz without vsync. If you wanna be near the top, disable 3d and disable vysnc on your LCD. If you wanna be at the bottom.... 3d!
Still though, 3d for singleplayer games is almost a requirement for me.

For me, depends on the game. Sniping in TF2 became attrocious, but playing Demo or Soldier got alot better. Shock combos in any given Unreal Tournament Game are impossible to miss now, no change in sniping or hit-scan based guns. Using the dual G18's got sketchier in Modern Warfare 2, but sighting down rifles became easier and more intuitive, not to mention how easy it is to nail a Noob Tube shot now. Distance judgement is a snap. Half-Life 2 is a tad easier to aim with now, but CS:S took a hit.

It takes a Village to raise a Child, but only 1 Idiot to raze the Village.
3d helps me with mp sorta. I've had 27 kills as Navi while playing Avatar online in TDM. I also do very well with RDA w/o using the nade launcher. The game becomes clear with 3d, and I notice enemies easier. The xbox controller makes movement better in 3d mode. It takes practice sorta. I recommend using one. 3d has its ups and downs but I enjoy the extra challenge it adds to mp.

i just have the anaglyph 3d and it rocks I can only imagine 3d vision. and on mw2 its about the same skills for me. sometimes harder cause anaglyph looses color and i cant spot at far away when sniping or not.
