I figured it was worth saying something.

Why should it have stereo 3D support although Nvidia has dropped support for 3D Vision? But if developers do they showed a real confession to 3D. Or another possibility: they use the same game engine as before and just keep all stereo 3D optimizations which were made in the past. When looking at the trailer it doesn't look so much different / better than trine 1-3.

I just posted a thank you on the Steam page. It's super rare for developers or companies to bypass the stonewall of silence that all corporations use. I put in a good thank you to them for their past work. Doesn't hurt to do the same.
I didn't say it there, but I'm not buying Trine 4 in 2D. It's not happening. I could give a shit about a new game engine. Boring!
Talk about a complete waste of time and money, writing yet another game engine that no one cares about. Why didn't they just use UE4 and be done with it? Who knows.

I just did the same.
But, without S3D, it simply won't be the same. The Trine series was, and is, one of the best S3D showcases. I will hold out hope that our community will, once again, rise to the occasion or that, at the very least, there won't be some obstacle to using CM/CMU.
Oh... and I realize this isn't popular opinion and that both 1&2, at the end of the day, were better games, but I loved Frozenbyte's move to break out of the side-scroll mode with Trine 3... riding Pontius' shield, floating into the depths of the screen... ahhh... magic! :)
