I am considering purchasing Samsung's PN43D490 43" 3D Plasma TV to play PC and PS3 games on; however, this television is not listed on Nvidia's 3DTV Play website as a compatible monitor. Does anyone know whether the list on the website is comprehensive or just a sampling of TVs that work with 3DTV Play? Or, more directly, what are the odds of 3DTV Play working with the PN43D490?
I definitely don't want to purchase a 3DTV that I can't play PC games on, but the PN43D490 is the only decent sized 3DTV in my price range, so I really hope that it is compatible.

If it meets Nvidia's requirements it is no problem getting it added other than a lil effort on your part and allowing time for it to be added. You'll need to follow the instructions here http://nvidia.custhe...etail/a_id/2774
Also just keep in mind that in order for 3DTV PLay to activate you do also need to meet the graphic card requirements as well. To see all supported graphic cards and displays go here http://www.nvidia.co...quirements.html
The list is comprehensive, if it's not listed it will not activate.
The Odds for getting it added are 100% I'd say, seeing that the series is supported already in varying sizes.
FYI 3DTV Play supports 720P 60 or 1080P 24.

I have the same exact set and while I LOVE it, gaming is a mixed bag of results:
The 2011 Samsung 43" plasma works WONDERFULLY with a PS3 in 3D! Granted many of the 3D titles for the PS3 are not all that amazing, I have a tennis game and a two 'prince of perisa' games that really look good in 3D. (motorstorm is another)
Nvidia is so far nothing but frustration.
Don't expect this set to do anything in 3D with a Nvidia card/3D vision driver.
Oddly, I can play Crysis2 in 3D with the miniHDMI-HDMI cable and my PN43D490 WITHOUT 3DVISION (using the games native 3D support) HOWEVER I can't get 3D vision turned on or get it to work at all. I bought a "3d play key" which so far has been fairly worthless (since I can't get it to work).
I do have a 120hz 3D monitor that I'm able to use a vision kit with and play games in 3D. However, I want the HDMI cable to work and I want it to work in 3D with my 3D tv.

I ended up purchasing the set as well and am also very happy with it. This model is very competitively priced--pretty much the only option for those of us who want a large 3D screen but don't have $1000 or so to burn on it.
I haven't had any luck using 3D Vision with it yet either; I can watch the Nvidia test logo in 3D, but nothing else (not especially entertaining). However, I sent the TV's EDID info to Nvidia and requested they add 3DTV Play support, so, hopefully, compatibility will be added for us before too long. In the meantime, I'll just have to content myself with playing Gears of War 3.
