Does 3D Vision Support the CRT Monitor?
Can I use 3D Vision glasses with a DVI 2 VGA convertor and a CRT monitor which could be on 120Hz refresh rates to play 3D stereo game?
It's possible theoretically. Did any one try this?

It says right on the box that you can do this.

Yes, it is possible. I have CRT AOC monitor with DVItoVGA reduction and have no problem.

You really got it? I have a CRT with following specs :

NEC Multisync FP1370
--------------------------
640 x 480 @ 60 to 160 Hz
832 x 624 @ 55 to 160 Hz
1024 x 768 @ 55 to 154 Hz
1152 x 870 @ 55 to 137 Hz
1280 x 1024 @ 55 to 118 Hz
1600 x 1200 @ 55 to 102 Hz
1792 x 1344 @ 55 to 91 Hz
1800 x 1440 @ 55 to 85 Hz
1856 x 1392 @ 55 to 88 Hz
1920 x 1440 @ 55 to 85 Hz
2048 x 1536 @ 55 to 80 Hz

My Vista64 recognizes 100Hz at 1280x1024. But i'm not able to switch to anything else than the Anaglyph-glasses...
What did you do to make this work? Any idea why my monitor doesn't work?

I have an old silicon graphics 24 inch widescreen CRT.

You'll have to first make a monitor driver with Rivatuner, then use Refresh Rate Patcher (one or two pages back, the title of that thread being "the solution to dx10 refresh rates or something like that) to force 120hz at the resolutions supported by your monitor.

It's a lot of dicking around. You can also try creating a custom resolution in the nvidia control panel every time you boot up.

I see there is somebody with same experiences ;)
I did actually create my own monitordriver with rivatuner - this was the only way to get the frequences to work properly under Vista.
Costum Resolutions don't change anything and it's not necessary because in windows i can switch to the resolutions and frequencies i need...

ok, i'll try the thing with the rate patcher now!

I had the same problem with the wizard; I think the problem is, that the wizard forces a higher resolution than 1024*768, which at the same time lowers the refresh rate of the monitor;

If I remember correctly, I just cancelled the wizard procedure right after I couldn't select the CRT; After this I could still select the 3D-settings in the nvidia control panel and activate the stereo mode.
