3DVision Fail Exactly Half my screen is completely blurred
When I have 3DVision enabled in the control panel, all of my games launch with the exact right half of my alienware 3dmonitor being blurred out completely. its like its super zoomed in on one location and is showing about 200 pixels or something. I disable 3dvision in the control panel and all the games work fine. If i push the button on the ir emitter to turn off 3d (which it turns off on the left side of the screen that i can see) it still doesnt fix it. I can't play any of my games in 3d. Wow, theres a huge waste of $800. Can I get some help fixing this, or get all my money back so I can use ati eyefinity instead? I was planning on buying a couple of the new fermi's on the 26th, but my only reasoning was for 3Dvision.

That sounds really odd.

Tbh i suggest ringing up dell and trying to get a replacement sent.

Although have you tried.... re-instaling the drivers? Testing the screen/setup on a differnt computer?

dunno what else to suggest.

All i can say is u'll have a not very enjoyfull time on the phone.

Edit. although is the screen complety %100 fine in 2d?

Sorry to hear about your problem, but before you blame hardware and 3d their are loads of software possibilities it could be. Alot of people seem to think you can just plug anything into a pc and off you go, its not always the case as its not a console and sometimes it takes time and or experience to sort out.

Hope you get it sorted

It worked fine for about a week, then one game gave me the error, then another, then another.. then only the 3dvision test images worked, now those even make the screen go bad. Works great with 3d turned off, runs 120fps fine. If Nvidia really thinks its the monitor i'll call dell up, but I have a strong feeling dell is going to call BS.

no help from tech support at all? any ideas? I've tried re-installing drivers, tried old drivers, tried 3 different cables... nothing.

No tech support here, this is strictly a user-to-user forum. It sounds to me like you either got a faulty monitor, or your Dual-link DVI connection is bad. Do you have a different dual-DVI cable you can try?
