Can't tilt my head! damn, I knew this might be an issue one day....
1 / 2
So I was playing 'Just Cause 2' and was flying in a hijacked plane and to my dismay, to prevent eye strain, I have to fight the natural urge to tilt my head to the side when performing barrel rolls, or hard cornering!
I noticed a long time ago that if you hold the glasses at a perfect 90 degrees to the screen, they completely black out... So when rolling your head with the corners or turns hurts the eyes... /turned.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':turned:' /> =
Bit of a shame I thought, and perhaps that is one reason why the polarized glasses method might be more suited to flying/motorbike driving....

Indeed. The whole idea behind polarization is to keep enerything on the same plane.
Speaking of "planes", pilots have to fight the ingrained tendency to lean into a curve (from driving cars and centrifucal force) and sit square to the airframe when banking. So in essence, it's more an occupational thing to sit still and watch the horizon move instead, and one you're not alone in facing.

Actually you'll also loose the 3d-perception when tilting your head. At 45° you'll only have a distorted view. So when gaming in stereo you'll naturally try to maintain the best stereopsys by keeping your head completely straight. I can imagine that tunnelrolling can make you tilt your head though. /teehee.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':teehee:' />

Lately I started to get sore neck muscels from wear my 3d vision glasses for 2 long and by doing so I get a headache.
This never seemed to be a problem in the past.
But now I catch myself tensing up my neck muscles and tilting my head up slightly, which seems to do it. I can't seem to keep my head level when wearing the glasses.
anyone else have this problem? I was thinking about wearing a neck support brace to level my head..lol. /turned.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':turned:' />

Had that problem when I first started flying - those helmets do weigh a couple pounds. But you're not used to having to support a weight that throws a bit of angular momentum into the deal as well.
Just reduce the time you're wearing it for a bit until your muscles adapt...

Some people when they game put all their concentration and their whole body into the game.Unfortunately i'm one of those so i duck when bullet ricochet's,jump in my chair when something on the game catches me by surprise tilt my head when i go round a corner etc.
I don't know, maybe i think i can see further around the corner or something.

Gor! I still do that on 2D...
lol, I move my head in the menu's in 3D, just to see if I can get them to move off the side of the screen.. I still firmly believe this tech is all witchcraft.

Is that right !? Even 15 degrees is enough to cause eye strain on the samsung 2233.... Perhaps its the top to bottom scrolling nature of lcd's refreshing...
I have been looking up iz3d because of this... And it has made me once again 'on the fence' about which 3d tech I want to advocate.... But you say that there is no problem on the dlp ???
This is another win for dlp technology... So far, it looks basically ridiculous to buy anything OTHER than a mitsi dlp...

I am sure there is no polarization problems with DLPs but the nature of the tech once you start titling your head the 3d get's distorted, if it's dlp, lcd or even polarized solution. Until the glasses can tell how it is orientated in respect to the screen the problem will exist.
