you could also buy a mini-hdmi to hdmi adaptor, and then buy a regular hdmi cable-

linking, adapting, extending, coupling, (etc.) hdmi will probably add some negligible jitter, but, generally speaking, if it works then it works completely, with hdmi. Once you have a working solution it's not going to break-down later. An example of a nonworking solution would be when 'sparkles', or white pixels are dispersed noisily throughout the image. There's a reason they're selling these products. Flimsyness with that adaptor might be the worst problem. The quality of the cabling matters as well (e.g. gauge). I say go with your original solution, but be weary that, the fact that that cable's seller says it supports 41xx by 2xxx resolution and 3D probably means nothing. I noticed that seller is not mentioning gauge, though.
Any of these would probably work equivalently-

I can understand that you need longer cables but longer cables sometime create problems with 3D quality. It will work fine for all 2D viewing but 3D can be a problem if the cable is not of good quality. In 3D there are other issues like glasses getting out of sync when longer cables are used. Also to get 3D you need to connect your hdmi cable to dual link dvi out of your graphics card via an appropriate adaptor. I am not really sure if 3D works through mini-hdmi out of the graphics card.

Unless you're getting one of the new 3D projectors that follow the hdmi 1.4 or hdmi1.4a standards, (what I had admittedly assumed), you're going to need a dual-link DVI cable, as imarun says. If so, your cabling issues are going to be compounded, although I think 20 or so feet is not unreasonable at all.

linking, adapting, extending, coupling, (etc.) hdmi will probably add some negligible jitter, but, generally speaking, if it works then it works completely, with hdmi.

Unless you're getting one of the new 3D projectors that follow the hdmi 1.4 or hdmi1.4a standards, (what I had admittedly assumed), you're going to need a dual-link DVI cable, as imarun says. If so, your cabling issues are going to be compounded, although I think 20 or so feet is not unreasonable at all.

That acer is 720p, so I assume it accepts, 720p120. This is fine with a single-link cable, so you should be okay with your cable choice. You may want to check if you can find a blu-ray software that outputs in this form, or for some adapter for the acer that accepts 1080px2 @ 24hz and sends out 720p120, if you're interested in blu-ray 3d.

Unless you're getting one of the new 3D projectors that follow the hdmi 1.4 or hdmi1.4a standards, (what I had admittedly assumed), you're going to need a dual-link DVI cable, as imarun says. I have acer h5360 and I am using it with a hdmi cable connected to dual link dvi port via dual-link dvi to hdmi adaptor. It works fine but my hdmi cable is only 10 feets. So if you use longer cable then make sure that you buy good quality cables.
