Exactly as you say, the ghosting is due to the monitor, not the glasses. The only difference between the V1 kit and V2 kit is the design of the glasses, the emitter is the same.
The confusion is because when Nvidia announced V2 of 3d vision, they announced lightboost at the same time. But, lightboost is a function of the monitor, not the kit. V1 and V2 kits both work with lightboost (ULMB) monitors.
