hello.
i searched google for any relating articles on swtor and 3d vision and didn't find anything so i thought i'd start one myself.
i tried using the 3d glasses and i came to realise that the left and right are switched around.
when i turn my glasses upside down it works but i'd rather see it working propperly.
i haven't come to use it in game yet only the starting menu.
i heard it is not fully operational for nvidia 3d vision.
will it become 3d vision ready?
i sure hope so.
let me adjust what i just say'd
it does work normally in game.
just not in the beginning where you choose servers.
there the switched left to right still applies.
hi there,
i just got my 3d monitor today and this is one of the first i played and its amazing in 3d!
yeah its not '3d ready', i THINK i heard that the lead developer didnt like 3d and it just worked amazingly by accident.. or that might of been skyrim hmm..
..so there are annoying bits like server selection (not being able to see your character properly) & when you set up the 3d just right, zoom in and its messed up again so cut-scenes arn't great.. and the 2d name plates..
apart from those 3 iv found out so far its great!
to answer your problem i'll have a stab at it, you can change the convergence when your in server select when your zoomed in on ur camera BUT when you enter the game the convergence will be off because you zoomed out if that makes sense.
hopefully as there are guna be updates every week they will add a 3d mode like they did with WOW etc.

I wouldn't worry about this. The 3D is just a background thing and not important to selecting the server. Just don't put on your glasses until you actually get into the game and you're good.

That was Skyrim - it also applies to Oblivion.

Zloth...others...how is it in 3d? Anyone have a 2 line summary or some feedback. Thinking about picking this game up.

obviously you have to tweak the depth and convergence..
The game is very good in 3d, so far i have only experienced those 3 issues, the big one being some of the cutscenes are out of focus because they zoom in and out. like i said they might bring a patch out after they have done the initial stability patches to tweak 3d.

The game works really well in 3D with the exception of 1 thing. I have heard of this proble but have never had a game do this. I run 2 GTX470's so in non 3D I can max the setting and retain 60FPS most of the time (I get the occassional dip to the upper 30's in big areas). When I run in 3D, it stays locked at 30FPS in outdoor areas but when I go to caves or shop areas, it jumps to 60FPS. It doesn't go inbetween and it can be really jarring. When I disabled SLI to see if that was the issue, it stayed locked at 20FPS and 40FPS. I toggled V-sync in game on and off and it didn't change anything. The look of 3D is pretty much 3D ready but with 30FPS it seems to feel like it is stuttering (not normal 30FPS). I will admit, I have skipped the last 2 beta drivers due to some really weird issues people are having with them, but it appears there is no mention of changes for this game and I did check to see if I had a SLI profile for the game and I do.
Sorry for the Wall of Text.

Its worth playing in 3D always as the quality of the 3D is very good overall, but has the same issues as any other 3rd person RPG/RTS game with 2D nameplates and mouse cursor. I'd say its very similar to Dragon Age 1 or 2 but with worst graphics. Some people recommend turning off the nameplates and using tab to target to overcome the 2D icons; I just played with less depth and tweaked convergence so that the mouse cursors and nameplates lined up pretty well.

to answer your problem i'll have a stab at it, you can change the convergence when your in server select when your zoomed in on ur camera BUT when you enter the game the convergence will be off because you zoomed out if that makes sense.
hopefully as there are guna be updates every week they will add a 3d mode like they did with WOW etc.
hope that helps in someway
