I had played Pinball FX before on Xbox and now that it's on steam, I got to test it out in 3d and it is probably my favorite game to play in 3d now.
Turning table reflection off brings a near perfect 3d experience, the only thing keeping it from being totally perfect is the dotmatrix, which is at a weird depth. After while you can easily focus your eyes on it, quickly. Turning 3d on brings out so much unseen detail in the tables, you can see every working part! I use view 5 becuase it reminds me of peering into a pinball table at the arcades when I was younger!
If you have never really cared much about pinball or played it seriously, it actually has a lot of depth once you learn the tables. It is a free download on steam, but you buy the tables as DLC (which are all half off during the Summer sale!). It does, however, come with an incredible free table called Sorcerer's Layer

Yeah. This game shocked me. It's some of the best 3D out there IMO. My brain truly believes I'm viewing a real table.
Booted up the game with 3D off once and I couldn't believe how different it was. Stereo 3D absolutely transforms it.
Hoping Pinball Arcade is just as good.
For those of you who have not seen, we have video and screens of Pinball FX2 on SG - rated Excellent

When I play in 2d, I can really notice the 120hz monitor doing its job. The movement of the ball is so silky smooth it surprises me each time. I can also turn my monitor 90 degrees and play vertically (viewing angles arne't great and can't do it in 3d).
None of that compares to the 3d though, it is just too good!

Thank you, kind sir.
I personally love Camera 6 and then set the convergence by merging the bottom flippers into one solid flipper (with glasses off). This has always played havoc with the HUD, but I sucked it up because the table was so awesome under these conditions.
HUD still isn't merged completely together under these extreme conditions, but from my quick go, it does seem like a substantial improvement. So thanks!

I wont be able to test it today. Can you show me a picture, I had to seperate the hud from world via depth because on same shader so extreme settings may effect it. Though I tested pretty high, I doubt I went that extreme. If you give me a screenshot I may be able to fix it.

ALT-F1 in game
it goes into folder.

I think I am misunderstanding though. I just check it out and it remains 2D regardless of convergence setting. I am guessing you want Hud to pop out a little instead. If so I cant do that [or at least it would be too time consuming]. Forcing 2D is much easier especially because its alot of different elements at different depths so forcing everything to be at a similiar non-2D depth is a bit of a pain.

I don't know, maybe I've just screwed something up. I put the three files into the folder with the Pinball FX2.exe. So I don't think I did anything wrong.

It's definitely not pirated. I'm a Steam addict.
Maybe I need to nuke the download and start over. I keep a cluttered desktop. And when I downloaded the fix, I thought I installed the right one, but it didn't work (and I rechecked things). The original shaderoveride folder I installed from had five files. I redownloaded and made sure I installed from the right folder. That only has 3 files. I deleted the original five, but maybe it altered something. I'll give it try later with a fresh start.
EDIT: Did a clean install of it and didn't change anything. Weird. Maybe someone'll figure out the obvious that I'm missing.
I'm just going to assume everyone is talking about the Steam version. I know it was exclusive for quite a while on the Windows 8 store, but I'm sure everybody is running the Steam version lol.

Wow!! I just noticed today when I checked your blog, eqzitara. Thanks so much for it!
First of all the the cursor is fixed on the menu.
Regarding the dotmatrix, on view 5, I set my convergence so that it looks like the very bottom of the machine (below the flippers) is at scree distance and the flippers are nearly screen depth (not sure if this was what Paul33993 did). The dotmatrix is much easier to focus on but it isn't all the way out, which I did read what you said so it's totally fine.
The reflections are also better although for me it depends on the table because some of the reflections are annoying (the Arachnid Attack section of Sorcerer's Layer table is an example of distracting reflections) but World War Hulk looks great all the way!
Anyways thanks a lot for the fix!

Some of the tables are currently 75% off, the rest are %50. Excluding the new table Balls of Glory, which is $9.99
