The difference is that it uses a TN panel, but it also has G-Sync. The plastic bezel is 1/16 inch thick, the on screen image border is 1/4 inch. So 5/16 compared to 14/16 on my VG278HE It's a decent monitor, I like it. It's often on sale at NewEgg, Dell sometimes offers it on sale with a gift card. Thanks for the info, guys. Has anyone had both the PG278Q and the VG278H? How would you compare the general image quality? I feel like my VG278H is a little subpar when it comes to image quality, but not sure if it's worth the upgrade (especially at the $1000AUD asking price of the PG278Q - sheesh!)

Mate - I still have that older Asus (VG278H) at home. I was going back to it at some point when games didn`t work in SLI on ROG Swift. I`ll tell you that it felt like going from PC to Console. No joke. That Resolution drop is deadly and you need some time to get use to with. Also the colours and sharpness of the image is just so noticeable that you can`t resist to have that impression - like you going back to some forgotten generation. I thing that VG278H had less ghosting in 3D but also weaker contras and brightness of the image, which was making me feel like I`m loosing some quality content. I still have good opinion about this Monitor thou. I am only judging after using ROG Swift.

Does the Asus PG278QE have Lightboost strobe length adjustment? The Dell S2716DG doesn't :(. My old BenQ XL2411Z can have lower motion blur. If only I could use 3D Vision 2 with ULMB....

You see that something happened but the picture stay clear and bright as without. Enough said that it hurts your eyes to look at sunrise in Witcher 3.

That's pretty good. The VG278H feels like playing with sunglasses on

I have the VG278HE. I think I am going to sell my HTC vive and get the Rog Swift, I have the oculus CV1 so I really don't need two headsets. Hope I am not making a mistake.

I had spare money saved for VR but I didn`t go for it just because of low resolution. Games with insane texture`s resolution shine on this Monitor. The amount of details you see is devastating. Withcer 3, Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Far Cry Primal with Textures DLC are amazing looking. You showing that to other PC player and you feel like you talking to Console user.

Pixel inversion is annoying. Why does it have to exist? :( It's like I'm using one of those CRT shaders for emulators (vertical scanlines). Even then, the resolution increase from 1080p is noticeable (and my XL2411Z had a checkerboard pattern :p). MGS Ground Zeroes looks super sharp and clear. SKAUT, how does your monitor look in 3D when there are bright skies? Regarding crosstalk. With my S2716DG in 3D I have to reduce contrast from 75 (default and max value without color clipping) to 57 to reduce crosstalk greatly (also necessary for Retroarch with black frame insertion, or else colors sometimes change with movement).

Black Flag had quite annoying ghosting but Witcher 3 and Dragon Age Inquisition had minor regardless better, greater lightning. ROG Swift is super bright and lot of people been complaining about crosstalk on it but I just can`t find any game which will annoy me beyond limits. Maybe I`m super tolerant or ignorant but ghosting is not on the list of my complains. I found one spot on my matrix with Pixels anomaly, I bet that is the Pixel Inversion. I hope you not referring to those vertical lines which are gone on new matrix from the same model. Anyway it is small (One centimetre square) and barely seen in 3D. Only when I have some flat picture in 3D (like map or menu) then I can see it. It is in the bottom corner so no a big deal. I really would love to see someone giving a try with this Dell as alternative to ROG Swift. EDIT: I`ve just played Witcher 3 for a good half an hour in a few areas constantly switching daytime. I just can`t see shit - there is no ghosting, crosstalk whatever you call it. I was really trying to be an asshole about it and pick on everything but no, nada. I will try to help you as much as I can`t so you won`t get disappointed if you go for it. So ask me which game you want me to test. At the moment Witcher 3 is real showcase of quality on ROG Swift.
