sorry mate, your out of luck. There is no 3D stereo driver yet that works with 8800 cards. A lot of us are waiting - and as far as I´m concerned, a 8800 will only be an option once 3D support is stable. :(

I'm kinda surprised at the number of posts about the 8800 stereo support being non-existent when just a little while back a beta driver was released that, with a little tweaking, works with games such as Oblivion - just as well as any other card but with the 8800 power.

I have also played Titan Quest with stereo but there are "block" artifacts which i gather is from the normal native part of the driver, not the stereo part.

Currently, I am playing through Tomb Raidr Anniversary, WITH the blocking artifacts. Its way better than without stereo, but then i'm a stereo nutt ;)

I have briefly tried sam and max too, they also suffer from the block artifacts bug.

As far as I am concerned, the driver is more "working" than "not working". You can find the relevant thread at the mtbs3d forums for info about the release, games that work, and how to get them working.

I guess it comes down to how much FPS in games means to you and what you are willing to put with to get stereo. If the answer is "60 FPS with everything maxed r0x0rz" and "stereo3d pwns" then get yourself an 8800 and see hwat you can get working :P

If you dont mind playign with lower graphics detail in stereo but with perfect stereo, then you are probably better sticking with your current card.

On a side note, Neil is about to make a "world changing" announcement in about a month. A universal stereo driver? Who knows.

awright, I take everything back then: If you´re prepared to live with buggy drivers, spend a day or two reading up some forums and tweak your settings accordingly you might - or might not - get some games to work with full 8k8 glory. Minus some blocky artifacts. >.<
Sounds really good to me.

But no, giving it a second thought I´d rather not trade my 7k9 in just yet. Works flawlessly, has enough oomph for all I care - but then I never play the latest games until they´re patched into something playable (usually a year after release). And concerning the latest drivers from nVidia -

well, I remain thoroughly unconvinced /no.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

hehe

Thats just the way the stereo driver has always been matey. It has never really got out of the "beta" phase.

The normal stereo driver even on a non 8800 card will require some tweaking atleast to get working in stereo. You just can't expect to boot up a new game and expect perfect stereo, especially nowadays with HDR and post processing effects. Some games even just blindly refuse to work in steeo, no matter what you do.

I recommend You try the forum at http://www.mtbs3d.com if You don't get an answer here.
To get troublefree and artifactfree 3D You need a singlecore (disable Dual), non SLI, Win XP, 7 series Nvidia graphics card computer.
The 3D driver for the 8 series are not out yet (shouldn't be long).
A lot of ppl are waiting just like You but that is little comfort.

PS: 3D is amazing /yes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> - artifacts are not /no.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
