Driver 1.20 - shouldn´t there be suport for Sammy DLP?

Skip the DDD driver, go with the IZ3D driver, until nvidia can fix the problem.

Used to be able to selct it fine.
Can only select Discovery or Samsung 120hz screen, come on man how long has this thing been broken.
And whats funny is every little problem we report on this forum is never replicated in the "lab" or Nvidia tells us it is fixed but never is.
I can tell you never again will I touch a Nvidia product, I'm stuck with it now and have to deal with it.

Staying with the 15's til this gets figured out. They seem too work** (using the generic CRT, which isnt available when my 3D "READY" projector is hooked up)
Anyways, Im sure Nvidia will get it sorted out eventually
**My 6221 ghosts still and has the reverse glasses issue. I haven't had a successful driver update since cd 1.15.
It just doesn't ever get detected, however I haven't gotten into the short cables yet......
I use a 3D Delay Sync Box which eliminates the ghosting (you cycle through colors till the ghosting is gone) and also deals with the reverse glasses issue. The next revision of the nVidia emitter could have this control on it to tune out and eliminate ghosting - would be a good idea, unless they finally get everything to work as it should with future tech anyways
Still liking 3D on this setup, but I would really dig an 1080p Stereo3D HMD with a wicked FOV and smooth as butter head tracking. I cant imagine how kickass an awesome yet to be released Ace Combat clone, with full controls (a glove for in game hand control - ) haha. I guess we will have to wait until someone (apple) starts the ball rolling with a really decent HMD or augmented glasses. Anyways, it WILL come one day, and we shall shart our drawers with glee as we take down giant robots in a massive coop deathwar in glorious virtual reality gaming fun! Gaming will be insane in the future! I WANT NOW!

Based on this thread and others, there are several more types of displays/projectors not detected by the latest driver 1.20 CD. Not just LED based DLP from Samsung.
IMO, each type should have its own thread to reflect the seriousness of the problem. It would be easier for Nvidia to be aware of and consequentially easier to track the bug for each display/projector type that are not detected. This is of course also for the benefit of each type owners.

It would be even more easy if nvidia once and for all removed those [b]stupid arbitrary limitations[/b] in the driver (a.k.a display detection and refresh rate limitation)! We've been repeadetely asking for more comprehensive control panels to improve on display/glasses synchroniosity and did not even receive a comment on this, we've been asking to simply remove the detection and refresh rate lock in CRT mode - no comment either. Using a liottle timer circuitry I can sync the glasses without problems down to 50Hz and lower when in checkerboard mode, so the glasses definately are capable of it - it's just in Generic CRT mode that the USB signal messes up with it....
It is stupid, senseless and I just don't get what's riding nvidia here. Not only does it keep people with not approved monitors to fiddle around with 3Dvision, it even keeps people with "certified" monitors to get the best (if at all) S3D experience!
It almost seems like an idiotic masterplan to drive customers into the arms of the competition. This is the year of stereoscopy and if things do not gonna change in favour of a more open support with 3Dvision they will loose customers big time to the red / IZ3D camp as soon as there are other glasses (Bit Cauldron) around...

[b]BUT[/b] I still say the best "return" for nvidia were taking the advantage over ATi with market penetration right now, higher sales of their 3Dvision emitter/glasses package and more sales of their grafic cards due to [b]universal[/b] support of 3D monitors!
Right now nvidia stumbles hard to get proper support for just a fistful of monitors and needs a new set of drivers for every new model.
What will happen, if we will, and we will, see more and more 120/200/240Hz TFTs, TV sets and projectors touting to be "3D ready" coming out this year an nvidia needs months to cope with a new set of drivers for each one?

In general, I'm of the same opinion with you about the whole thing from a user/consumer point of view. However it's hard to say for sure Nv direction is without business merit at this moment beside the fact that it's seriously in shortage of resource, which is the only main factor in getting customer base riled up recently, that will hinder even the most brilliant business plan.

In general, I'm of the same opinion with you about the whole thing from a user/consumer point of view. We test all products and specifically check for it to ensure it works propely. There are many products that call themselves 3D products we have never seen. Your safest bet is to use our website, which we keep up to date with officially supported products that we have tested.

That's great that finally there's some hope for a real fix with actual user tested QC.
Regarding (2), are you saying that Nv has not been working on the bug to fix the generic DLP (ie Samsung) detection bug at all and all those releases later than 1.15 CD which were trying to detect Samsung DLP weren't even actual?
Besides, regardless of whether the Samsung DLP is officially support or not, they do belong to the "generic DLP" category which is claimed to be supported.

there is not used 3d vision term but in the description there i used that "DDD software or Nvidia graphics card is converting three dimensional material, bla bla bla" creating impression as being compatible with 3d vision.
This tv is on marked and some people may have bought it as 3d vision compatible.

Our Samsung DLPs have been tested and they were working fine since 1.15. However, I think we have found the bug that was causing end user problems and have a beta driver being built to test it.

It almost seems like an idiotic masterplan to drive customers into the arms of the competition. This is the year of stereoscopy and if things do not gonna change in favour of a more open support with 3Dvision they will loose customers big time to the red / IZ3D camp as soon as there are other glasses (Bit Cauldron) around...

[b]BUT[/b] I still say the best "return" for nvidia were taking the advantage over ATi with market penetration right now, higher sales of their 3Dvision emitter/glasses package and more sales of their grafic cards due to [b]universal[/b] support of 3D monitors!
Right now nvidia stumbles hard to get proper support for just a fistful of monitors and needs a new set of drivers for every new model.
What will happen, if we will, and we will, see more and more 120/200/240Hz TFTs, TV sets and projectors touting to be "3D ready" coming out this year an nvidia needs months to cope with a new set of drivers for each one?
As said, the first cross-compatible technology available will win this race - and all I can add is that ATi just opened low level driver accessability for IZ3D shutter drivers and Bit Cauldron emitters in their latest Beta drivers... It would be a pity an a shame if nvidia had swallowed Metabyte and 3Dfx in vain on that matter - so they better open up their architecture, I say, and, now.

[*]We are having an issue related to DLP detection in our driver. I have a Beta driver that I believe will fix it, and I have contacted a few users to participate in the program. Note that the Samsung DLP was never an officially supported product.
[*]NVIDIA 3D Vision works with officially certified products because we have to certify the quality, timings, etc to ensure it works. Our SW checks to make sure the display is certified. Many of you are trying to use products that are not certified and believe that there are bugs in our SW if your product isn't detected. Those are not bugs, and publish our list of certified products on our website [url="http://www.nvidia.com/object/3D_Vision_Requirements.html"]http://www.nvidia.com/object/3D_Vision_Requirements.html[/url]

We test all products and specifically check for it to ensure it works propely. There are many products that call themselves 3D products we have never seen. Your safest bet is to use our website, which we keep up to date with officially supported products that we have tested.

there is not used 3d vision term but in the description there i used that "DDD software or Nvidia graphics card is converting three dimensional material, bla bla bla" creating impression as being compatible with 3d vision.
This tv is on marked and some people may have bought it as 3d vision compatible.

Our Samsung DLPs have been tested and they were working fine since 1.15. However, I think we have found the bug that was causing end user problems and have a beta driver being built to test it.
