Two questions
  1 / 2
1. I really want to get the bundle package next month (I'm getting a new PC capable of playing actual good games this month) but I have no idea where I can get it in Holland. Does anyone know where I can find a retailer selling the bundle in Holland, or at least shipping to my location?

2. I already have one 22" Widescreen Monitor, but it runs on 70HZ. How does this Geforce 3D Vision work with Dualscreen? Does it just show up on the 120HZ monitor only or does it influence the other one as well? I assume I have to put the 120HZ monitor as the primary screen when working in Dualscreen.

Thanks,

~QK

I run a multi-monitor setup from 2 video cards (3 monitors (including the Samsung 120Hz) + 1 HDTV). For 3D to work you have to set the Samsung as the primary monitor so games will load up on that monitor. For games that use multiple monitors like Supreme Commander, you have to use it in single monitor mode for 3D because the other monitors just cant output the same refresh rate (unless you have TWO 120 Hz monitors, which I don't and can't test, although it would be an interesting experiment).

Hi QK,

The first question was already answered so let me answer the second one.

Yes, you could use two monitors, but they will not be synced together. You need to have the Samsung 3D 120 Hz as the primary monitor to get 3D there in Dualscreen mode. You may get some flickering from the second monitor since the refresh rates are not synced together.

How useful is this to you? Is it something you need?

Hi

Just to verify for you, I tried this in my lab and it works fine as long as the Samsung LCD is the primary display.

Alright, and what if I had two 120HZ monitors, use them in a dualscreen setting, and then play a game like Supreme Commander in dualmode, using GeForce 3D? Would that give 3D on both screens at once, and if it does, would it have any side effects?

So it is possible to run a game in 3D on the primary monitor and use a web browser or another application in 2D?

I dont want to play games in 3D on 2 monitors but I need the second one for surfing or Windows while I'm playing.

Currently, you can really only use the second monitor for passive viewing, not active surfing.

Basically, you have to be running the game in full-screen mode (which is different from maximized windowed mode), and this has the effect of restricting your mouse to the monitor that your full-screen game is running on. So while you could have another app open on the second monitor, you couldn't really get mouse/keyboard focus to that window to interact with it without alt-tabbing and minimizing the full-screen game. So browsing the web is out, but things like having ventrilo open to see who is in channel and talking is possible.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Almost all of these nagging issues he is referring to are OS and Application controlled, they are not GPU driver controlled.

Can't you just test it by running two 3D animations on two monitors at the same time? It should do the same as playing one 3D game on two monitors, I guess.

Anyone? two 3D animations on full screen, each on a different monitor should do the same as 3D games on both monitors as far as I assume.

There is no frequency sync between both displays, so its likely that you will still only get 3D on one screen.
