I think, donation is normal, if you have the money to buy games you probably can donate for playing them in 3D. The improvement of playing in 3D worth quite a lot to us. Several, don't play 2D games no more, only 3D.
Using the knowledge of all the 3D gurus here don't seems to be stealing. It's call learning from the best. Why not share knowledge for the better good ? As team work ?
So I think DHR Universal Fix is part of learning, not stealing. And as he says his "GOALS" are not use this much.
When you write an university thesis, do you have to thanks your kindergarten teacher ? :) Of course I'm kidding, but realy, Helifax don't you have learn a lot from others here right ? I don't say that a thank you is overated but, if you have to inventory all your teachers, it be a long list. You may even have to name books athors as well.
I get that you prefer not demand money, and get paid by cheering, that's good, but people can think differently. We are all different.
There are so few people that can do what you do for us, it be a shame to lose you as we sadly already lost a lot of gurus. Hope you'll still share your works here.
Obviously universal fix is more than welcome here. Why should DHR stop improving "his" work by using guru knowledge ? I really don't get that. Especially if it's a powerful impro...
Really hope that you resolve that peacefully

I'm not able to do any fixes by myself coz i'm into Hard- not Software. So i mostly just follow this community and i'm very amazed about what you, DSS, DHR and others do.
But when it comes to personality ... why are you such an infantile guy? From one post to another you often act like a child. If this is how you react in real life, it can't be easy to get along with you.
For the board here ... just breathe, think and wait a few hours before "doing the Trump". ;)
Please, don't get me wrong. I don't want to offend you. It's just what i see from the outside.

I get this better now. If this is true, yes indeed the universal fix should probably be named by a team name (HelixMod maybe). This way the credit will automatically goes to all of the gurus, the lost even.
I do not know anything about coding but I can understand if someone stole my "baby" and proclaim to be hers. Like been a real father agains the stepdad...
Should we shoot at each other ? Or be together to raise her ? Can't realy say. Utopically call her ours. Even if it's hurt. A lot.
Well can't say much more. Realy hope you'll work together not agains.

In some ways I think we need a 3D Vision Summit - a chance to all get together, learn from each other, share knowledge, run through some talks on fixing difficult effects, discuss the future of 3D Vision and 3DMigoto and most importantly - have a beer with each other and actually get to know one another beyond what we see on the forums.
I'm not even kidding - I've been part of other communities (Linux & open source) that has something like this and you can see how much of a benefit it is, and anyone who has worked in a large international company will recognise the value of being able to meet your co-workers from the other side of the world and actually have a beer with them, because it just makes it so much easier to work together afterwards (upper management and the finance department may need a little convincing).
But I'm not sure who would organise it*, which country we would aim for or how we would pay for it or support those travelling who can't afford it themselves, but it is the kind of thing that I think could really help. It's a huge long shot, but NVIDIA is the most likely candidate to sponsor something like this since they get a real tangible benefit from it - maybe we could all go and hang out in San Francisco with Bo3b and the 3D Vision devs?
* It might be my suggestion, but I'm no Rusty Russell about to found 3DVisionCon - and organising something like this is almost a full time job in itself. Maybe there's someone in the community looking for a way to contribute that has the organisational skills to make this happen? (Hint hint ;-)

Those are fixed.
I understand that you modified some shaders related to the scanner interface? Probably that is why. That shader is used in many other places. By fixing it there, you broke it in other places:)
I would recommend trying the following:
- Backup your shaders
- And copy the shaders from the fix here and see if it still present.
Cheers!
I have of cause used the "clean fix" andwothout Swettfx or other changes still the 1.21 as it was but the problem is still present....hm....
But never mind, i have moved into depth and every thing is fine.
The modificationsi have made for the scanner will only be present if i enable the scanner so this can not afflict other things if the scanner is dissabled. However, its still there without any manipulation on the files but never mind, I have my solution. Its not a big issue and if its only for me you do not have to get through it ^^
//Just finished my propper gamepad behavior for the game. No changes in UI while driving nomad, menue navigation and map navigation.

Hi Helifax,
As a part of the fix, do you override nvidia game profile settings?
I ask be cause when I change some things with nv inspector, such as pre-render frames, etc to experiment with performance, it always resets to "1".
I know in the past, you have included a profile override, but I don't see one with this fix...
If they are being changed, how would one modify the overridden values?
Thanks!

PRF = 1 is needed to load the shaders properly. Im not sure if this is also well with another PRF value. But you can try. Open the d3dx.ini file and go to the [Profile] section or search for "Max Pre-rendered Frames"
You can set the 0x7BA09E = 0x00000001 to 0x7BA09E = 0x00000002 / 3 / 4 ... etc...
But no complaining if something will went wrong ok ^^

BTW, it seems to work perfectly at 3 so far, though no extensive testing has been done.
You guys probably already know this, but I was under the impression that this number was used to tell the GPU how many frames to generate ahead of being displayed. Apparently, that is a common misconception - it's true purpose is to tell the system how many frames can be queued between the CPU and GPU while the GPU is processing current frames.

You are correct;)
At the time, it solved the issue of "failing to stereorize" certain shaders if > 1. I haven't tried it on the latest drivers, but it seems to work just fine with it at == 1 or above.

Interesting. I always set prerendered frames to 1, because years ago I could feel the input lag in Skyrim.
If some of my fixes depend on it (I don't think so, because they are far simpler games thab this one), I wouldn't know.

And what is the result for putting it higher than 1 ?? Any benefit from here?
Interesting. I always set prerendered frames to 1, because years ago I could feel the input lag in Skyrim.
One of the benefits of AFR SLI is that it is supposed to offset this since ideally you can have two frames in flight without the usual latency increase. I'm not entirely sure what the meaning of this is once 3D Vision is in that equation as well.
Yeah, if we actually need this for something to render correctly it would be a driver bug. I'm curious if you can recall which driver version this hit on (maybe a long shot, but I'm wondering if it might correlate to some issues that have me recommending specific driver versions for ABZU and WATCH_DOGS2 in SLI)?

I know in the past, you have included a profile override, but I don't see one with this fix...
If they are being changed, how would one modify the overridden values?
Thanks!

PRF = 1 is needed to load the shaders properly. Im not sure if this is also well with another PRF value. But you can try. Open the d3dx.ini file and go to the [Profile] section or search for "Max Pre-rendered Frames"
You can set the 0x7BA09E = 0x00000001 to 0x7BA09E = 0x00000002 / 3 / 4 ... etc...
But no complaining if something will went wrong ok ^^

What Losti said! ^_^
Indeed! Is all part of the d3dx.ini under [Profile] tag;)

If some of my fixes depend on it (I don't think so, because they are far simpler games thab this one), I wouldn't know.

And what is the result for putting it higher than 1 ?? Any benefit from here?

One of the benefits of AFR SLI is that it is supposed to offset this since ideally you can have two frames in flight without the usual latency increase. I'm not entirely sure what the meaning of this is once 3D Vision is in that equation as well.
Yeah, if we actually need this for something to render correctly it would be a driver bug. I'm curious if you can recall which driver version this hit on (maybe a long shot, but I'm wondering if it might correlate to some issues that have me recommending specific driver versions for ABZU and WATCH_DOGS2 in SLI)?
