colour/brightness change?
I have the syncmaster 2233rz monitor and was wondering is there any way to change the colour/brightness with it? Tried pushing the buttons on the side while in-game, but says its disabled. The only thing i could change in-game was the sharpness.

If you have an NVIDIA card, right click the desktop, click "Nvidia Control Panel". Once open look for "Adjust Desktop Color Settings" on the left.

I'm at work so I can't see which setting it is, think it's Magic something, but anyways you need to choose custom because you are supposed to be able to change the settings you just mentioned. Anyone who's looking at their monitor, help the guy out. Thanks

The brightness and contrast max
I have the syncmaster 2233rz monitor and was wondering is there any way to change the colour/brightness with it? Tried pushing the buttons on the side while in-game, but says its disabled. The only thing i could change in-game was the sharpness.
I have the same setup, running driver versions GeForce 182.06 WHQL / 3D Vision v182.07 BETA.

When the 3D Vision drivers are installed, the brightness and contrast of the monitor max out during gameplay to compensate for the brightness lost from the glasses being active (each eye is blacked out half the time). Even then, it's still a little dark in my opinion. I sometimes even turn up the gamma in-game when playing WoW to compensate a little more. It does make it more washed out / grey looking, but makes the game a little easier to play. If I'm playing something like Left 4 Dead though, I won't touch the gamma! :D

The part that sucks about it is when you hit ctrl-T to disable 3D mode and the brightness controls are still unavailable (there may be a way to do this but I haven't found it yet). Not only is this annoying because you can't change the levels on the monitor (during gameplay) without uninstalling the 3D drivers, but kinda kills your "night-vision" if you switch back and forth during gameplay. For example, as of the time I write this, there is a bug in WoW that makes the map display incorrectly when 3D mode is enabled, so I've linked a hotkey to hit M and ctrl-T at the same time, pulling up the map and putting it into 2D mode so the map is readable. Now, after playing with the glasses on for a bit, your eyes seem to adjust to the darkness of the glasses, like "night-vision", so when you switch back to 2D mode and your monitor hits you with a full-brightness/full-contrast image, it is REALLY bright, and you have to readjust to the darker 3D mode somewhat.

So anyway, yes, I think it's kinda buggy at this point (it should revert back to user settings when in 2D mode), but do you see why they force the brightness/contrast up? In an ideal situation, your monitor would be whatever brightness you set it at, then twice that when in 3D mode to compensate for the light loss.

I have this problem, hasn't this been solved yet?

I have "Hide stereoscopics 3D..." checked, so when I game a game, it's in 2D mode (I don't need to wear the glasses) BUT the monitor says "3D Mode" and the brightness is maxed :( Only way to play "normally" is to disable 3D completely in the control panel :(

Is there a way to change this? Or a least create a desktop shortcut to enable/disable 3D?
