I've been able to play games such as portal and FSX in 3d using the 3d discover just fine, but with my new sony bravia, I cannot get the 3d to work when I run a game. I have bought the sony transmitter and glasses and have updated my nVidia driver to 266.58. I have run the 3d setup wizard and it works perfectly, but for any other application the 3d does not turn on. I cannot even use Ctrl+T to turn it on and off. Please help me or point me in the right direction if you can.

As a debug tool, try downloading the free tial of iZ3D and try it using the Sony glasses and emitter. Be sure to choose "custom" when you do set up so that you can choose side-by-side mode. As to 3D Vision, are you seeing the "3DTV Play" logo in the nvidia CP? Is your nvidia emitter connected to your computer via the USB cable?
FWIW, i used 3D Vision with a Sony 55hx800 3DTV. It took some doing, but I finally got it to work. HAve you tried Blu Ray 3D?

Yes, I do have the 3DTV icon in CP, I originally got the 3D vision kit intending to get a 3D Monitor, but got the TV instead. I have the nVidia emitter connected, and noticed that the 3DTV icon went away when disconnected. When I run a game in 720p, the tv will go into 3d mode and the glasses will turn on, but the in game compatibility message does not appear, and the image remains in 2d. I will try iZ3dD and post the results. No, I do not have a 3D blue ray player.
*Edit
The iZ3D did not seem to work. I could not get my tv into side by side mode because it detected a 3D signal. I have, however, been able to enter side by side mode when playing black ops on my 360 as well as when using the nVidia 3D movie viewer after hitting simulated 3d on my remote.

When going through the iZ3D control menu, I can use the drop down menu to select side by side, but when I hit the apply button, nothing happens. I assumed it worked and tried running some games. In some games, when going through the iZ3D setup, I only get single test image, not two, and the program does not change in game. In some other games, iZ3D just makes the program crash altogether. Nothing has worked so far, but I will keep trying and figure things out.

Hi
Ok a couple of questions:
1. Is your TV listed on the 3DTV Play support site? http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-requirements.html Make sure you have any 3DTV Play Update utility installed.
2. When you go to the NVIDIA Control Panel > Stereoscopic 3D > Set up stereoscopic 3D, what is the Display Type listed there. Does it say "HDMI 1.4 3D display" or does it say "3DTV Play" ?
3. When you are playing your games, are you running them at 1280x720?

3DTV Play, but if I run the CP with the nVidia 3d transmitter disconnected, the CP says HDMI 1.4 3D display.
Yes, my games are running fullscreen 1280x720 @ 60Hz
*Edit
In the nVidia control panel, I can run the 3D setup wizard, and the sony transmitter and glasses work. I can see the hexagon and triangle separately with each eye and I can see the floating square in the static. The nVidia 3D test video works works as well. At the end of the wizard though, you have the option to see some 3D images, and when that runs, 3D turns off and I see the 2 images one on top of the other. Unsure why the switch. Just some more info about my predicament. Thanks for trying to help guys, I intend to get this working.

@andrewf: Yes, the 'Test Stereoscopic 3D' animation runs in 3D and my TV does respond correctly to it.
@roller11: I realized after reading your post that I may not have turned off nVidia's 3D in the CP. I tried once again on multiple games, but got the same result as before. iZ3D produces only a monoscopic image on the screen.

I am still suspicious that you may not have 3DTV Play software. Did you actually purchase the software from store.nvidia.com?

I did not purchase the software directly. Before I got the tv, I had purchased the nVidia 3d kit w/ the transmitter and glasses intending on buying a 3d monitor. I got the tv instead ad a cheaper price and saw that I needed the sony transmitter and glasses instead. From what I have read on the 3DTV Play page, the 3DTV software is free if you have the nVidia 3d Transmitter. Please correct me if I am wrong on this assumption.
With this suggestion, my next action is downloading the 2 week trial of the software and testing it out. I will post the results.

Well, there's the problem. I downloaded the trial and it was working just fine. What threw me off was that the 3DTV Play icon appeared in the CP when I had the nVidia transmitter plugged in. I guess I misunderstood the info on the 3DTV page:
'3 – Activate 3DTV Play on your 3D Vision PC: NVIDIA 3DTV Play software is available as a free upgrade for 3D Vision PCs. Download the latest Release 265 GeForce Drivers for desktop GPUs and Release 265 Verde Notebooks drivers for notebook GPUs. (NOTE: the 3D Vision IR emitter is required to activate 3DTV Play software on your PC.)'
I assumed having the transmitter would allow me to use the 3DTV software.
Thank you guys for all your help with this issue and I appreciate the support I got from nVidia. I guess I'll enjoy the 14 days free and eventually purchase the software separately.

Ok so 3D is working that is good.
I am still suspicious that you may not have 3DTV Play software. Did you actually purchase the software from store.nvidia.com?

With this suggestion, my next action is downloading the 2 week trial of the software and testing it out. I will post the results.
