@eqzitara - Sounds like your method could be used for disabling the fake 3d profile without harming the SLI profile, or is that wrong?
@bo3b - I've been playing AC3 quite a lot lately, and I'm really not convinced it's a good candidate for fixing. I say this purely based on the fact that it's extremely poorly optimised, even in 2d. In 3d, I can only imagine it would be a slideslow. This is on SLI 770s.

The performance of AC4 on the other hand has been pretty great for me (in 2d)
And just from the perspective of the games, AC4 is almost universally regarded as doing everything that AC3 did, but better.
Sure, AC3 was high on everyone's wishlist back when it was the latest game in the series, but I should think AC4 would trump it for most people now. I would focus on AC4 first, and treat AC3 as an afterthought, if at all.

I'm not very far into AC3, farthest I got was on the ship. Just testing here. But, the main thing for me is that I bought AC3 to improve 3Dmigoto, and I'm not interested in buying AC4 until it's on sale because I'm a cheapassgamer.
Pretty sure that everything we do here will still apply to AC4, so it's not wasted effort. The bugs we are fixing are legit and will hit many games.
Of note, it runs OK on my SLI 580s, in 3D. Without 3Dmigoto, it's definitely playable for the parts I've seen. I'm running low res though, 1280x720@120Hz for projector. But settings maxed.
Also worth noting is that AC3 is #2 on the most wanted list, so while I agree with you in principle, this is where we can make it all work at present. Down to two shader decompiler bugs, from fatal errors before, and 8 busted ones after that.

I've finally caved in ,and started AC3 in 2D (it was Dead Island Riptide's turn on my 3D backlog, but it does not want to play along nicely).
I definitely do not want to sway public opinion, and enforce my preference, but for me this game is running perfectly smoothly, maxed out (not many graphic options in the menu though), in the first hours (I'm now in Boston).
The production values, actors voices, dialogue lines, the new setting, the more "next gen" engine than the previous ACs, everything for me is simply astounding. This game deos indeed get better with each new iteration. Again, this is just my humble opinion.
I'm almost crying with sadness that I have to play this in 2D, but I think I've lost my hope a little, regarding a DX11 wrapper. Maybe if I can get Dead Island to work in 3D I can hold out for another month, but it will have to be a huge effort of will, now that I've started the AC3 story.
Good luck to our 3D champions, with whatever they work on. You guys are incredible (Helix, Bo3b, Helifax, Flugan and others), and I hope you all know how UNIQUE your contribution is to the 3D community here and in the whole world; forsaken as we are by the developers and Nvidia.
:-)
Edit: I always forget that my bloody signature still doesn't show, so just to specify that I'm running SLI 580s, with 314.22 drivers

bo3b, the ship is very misleading. The intro (up until you get off the ship) is totally fine, framerate-wise. Play about 20 minutes longer, and you'll arrive in Boston. Once you do, you'll see the framerate drop dramatically.
After completing a few missions and getting past the first winter (several more hours), things improve again. But I still can't maintain a smooth 60 in most areas.
As for the fake 3d, I'm finding it's really not too bad. It's a far cry from real 3d, but it's better than the initial impression I got from it, which was really bad.
If it's good for fixing general bugs, that's great - but I would take a look at performance in Boston before dedicating too much time to game-specific shader fixes.
If you're interested in AC4, it's available for about $20 here (uplay):
http://www.fast2play.com/category/3202/assassin-s-creed-iv-black-flag-special-edition-ubishop-download/
Or $30 for a steam version (which launches uplay anyway):

Oh, and I'll send you those files soon.

I played ACIII when it came out in "3D". It was quite uncomfortable on the eyes, but I got somewhat used to it. At that time I had a GTX690 (dual GPU card). Framerates often drop way below 60, that's for sure, but I don't think that alone should keep anyone from playing it in "fixed" 3D.
(And I would hope that with the 2x GTX 780 Ti setup I use now it might run significantly smoother.)
Just played ACIV (Black Flag) in "fake" 3D. While in my opinion the game is better than ACIII, it still was tedious and frustrating enough (outside of the naval gameplay) to not want to replay it anytime soon.

I really loved the vibe, the setting, the treasure hunting, and for the first time in an AC game, I actually liked the protagonist and main characters
............yet I still got bored about 2/3 of the way through and abandoned it. It's the 3rd AC game in a row that I didn't bother finishing. I mean, the mechanics are fun, but I don't know how they expect people to do the same things over and over for ~70 hours, and then again in each yearly sequel.

So I got the game to work for the most part. The game is still missing the reticle and foreground stuff like hands and guns. Can anyone help me finish up making this game playable?

Yeah, Infinite. I'm using helix mod currently and it's great except for what I described above. I tried but failed to complete the last step in eqzitara's explanation. But I'm not sure if that's what's causing it. I'm going to try an older driver and see if that works.

Here's an update on 3Dmigoto-
1) Mike has made a really terrific fix for Saints Row IV. It's looking 100x better than before and better than Compatibility Mode. Details on HelixMod, even though this is a 3Dmigoto fix. Thanks again to Helix and Eqzitara for helping us keep all the games in one spot.
http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2014/06/saints-row-4-directx-11-3dmigoto-3d.html
2) I updated 3Dmigoto itself so that it uses 4 dlls instead of 15, and removed the need for dxgi.dll. This means that the SR4 fix should work fine on Win8.1, and also no longer require that KB graphics fix from Microsoft.
Please let us know if you have any trouble with this fix, it's a lot of changes.
SR4 is surprisingly good fun.

Congratulations on the fabulous progress, Bo3b and Mike !!!
Those two games really deserve the fixes, and will be great to play in 3D.
Many thanks for the unique and invaluable contributions you guys are making to modern gaming.
Fingers crossed and hoping for the best, regarding the work on the 64bits version.
A self-interested "Good luck!" (for all of us baby! LOL )
