3DTV Play Activation not working.

Bah. This is getting REALLY old. Nvidia should offer some kind of solution to bypass this for people that paid for the software. I don't want a refund, I want to be able to use the software the worked fine until I had to recently reformat. Either make it free or give us some kind of work-around. The software clearly still works once it's activated a single time.

When Windows 10 drops and people want to do a clean install following the free upgrade, Nvidia is going to be wishing that they had addressed this issue in a timely manner.

Is this Nvidias way of killing 3D off or are they just really inept as a company on the whole? Heads should roll for this blunder! Over a month and all we get is, we're working on it!?!

VR has stolen the little interest 3DTV functionality had and that software itself hadn't been updated for several years to begin with. I doubt they wanted the served to go down, but I don't think they care much that it is either. It'll be interesting if the clean Win 10 installs that will be hitting next week will spur anything. Then again...how many people even paid for the software? When you Google it, it automatically tries to add "trial reset" for what it's worth. Might as well just add it into the drivers or just get rid of it openly.

It's pathetic. It's just pure complacency. I hope AMD do go under so Samsung or apple buy them out, or if Intel got into the performance graphics game. Then nvidia would have to earn their money and prove their worth. They are greedy pigs and couldn't give a rats ass about 3D. They are too busy looking at an nvidia powered car dash board with their virtual reality helmets on quaffing about how great their pascal engineering sample is performing streaming to their nvidia shield. It's a crying shame, it's sacrilege, someone somewhere worked really hard on this tech and some Charlie big bananas in the company won't give it the man power it deserves. This is a company making ridiculous amounts of money! They might as well delete the 3D section of the forums because nobody is going to able to use it if they don't pull their finger out of their well fed arses any time soon!

If that were true, they wouldn't say they were trying to bring the server back up and were working on it. They wouldn't say anything. For corporations today, they never, ever talk about bad news. It's always silence. I don't think they realize how much this harms them.

You almost have to wonder if there's something else going on? Perhaps, the activation server was hacked/infected. When the forums were hacked/infected, it was a long time before they were back up.

They are under attack 24/7, and the forum mods have a daily grind of culling the stupid "Nvidia is a cheater" spam. You can see this happening all the time as different threads no longer support clicking on most recent message- that's broken when a spam message gets deleted. That server was never going to be getting any attention, and was likely an easy target.

If you can't get it to activate using an Nvidia Emitter, there's a problem on your end. What display are you using? Are you using an AVR? Have you tried a different USB port? What GPU and OS are you using? Driver version? Is the emitter showing up in device manager?

Nvidia are probably waiting for someone from the community to fix it. They sell hardware for servers but can't get their own server working. You couldn't make it up.

How do you activate with IR emitter? Also, how do you test it? I don't see 3DTV play in Nividia Control Panel. Do you have to have a compatible monitor connected with HDMI? Anyone used a virtual monitor with fake EDID?
