New member here :) Just got my new 3d vision setup today and so far very impressed! I've heard that Metro 2033 is great in 3d, however when i start the game, my 3d vision doesnt activate like it does for unreal 2004. Is it something to do with dx11 as i dont have that?
Also, what are these convergence settings that ive seen mentioned? Is it the depth wheel thing?

Try running Metro 2033 in DirectX 9 mode instead of Directx 10 (which is the default, I think) and the emitter should activate. I'm not sure why on some computers it won't activate using DirectX 10 mode.

Convergence is locked by default. You have to edit an INI file to enable convergence adjustment. This post should help you.

Cheers Bryan. Got it sorted now. Does this work with other games? I mean is it locked for them too?

The only other game I know of with locked convergence is Resident Evil 5 but, unfortunately, there's no way of adjusting it in that game thanks to Capcom. If a game is playable in 3D then convergence can always be adjusted via the keyboard shortcuts you set up in the NVidia Control Panel, except for rare cases like RE5 and Metro 2033 in which the settings are locked. It's just the creators way of trying to control the user's experience instead of letting us decide what we want. Luckily it's rare. Cheers.

locked convergence is more like an exception. I know that Resident Evil 5 also has it locked, but no other games come to my mind..
but otherwise, as soon as you enable convergence in the driver settings it should work for any game.
although sometimes you have to keep pressed ctrl+f5 or f6 for quite a long time before you can see any adjustments on the screen.
it might help to take off the glasses in order to catch the moment when convergence adjustments start on the screen.

need more info to help get this running in dx 10. drivers, os, card.
try going into the NV control panel and make sure the tab for "hide sterio. effects....." is not clicked (this will force on at start of game), also click the tab for set keyboard shortcuts and enable the advanced shortcuts. have your tried "CTRL T" at the menu? this should toggle the 3d on or off if you choose to hide the S3d effects on game start.
if that does not work try hiding the effects at start and manually activating 3d with ctrl t
Metro is still a bit buggy with the new drivers and 3d. play around with the NV control panel and the hotkeys and you should find a way to enable 3d in dx 10. Just cause 2 is the same way on my system- lots of crashing if i dont let the computer turn on 3d automatically.
