Far Cry 4 {3D Screenshots}

The Far Cry series is one of my favorites, but I am still shocked/impressed about a number of things. 1. The graphics are amazing maxed with DSR x 1.78. Surprised at how Ethan Carter esque the trees look. 2. The game world is huge & UBI really cleaned up the draw distance & distance detail vs FC3. 3. The 3d CM mode with the AC Unity profile is pretty damn good. I mean of course real 3d would be amazing but CM mode isn't ruining my experience. I like to set the depth to 50% and hold F6 a little so there is no blurriness with the CM mode. Hopefully Nvidia will provide us with at least a real CM mode FC4 profile at the next driver release.

What is your screen NateDogg? 50% depth seems very low to me... Could you put pictures to compare to mine?

It depands - 50% might be good if you use maximum FOV. I had to low down convergence at this poin but after all "toyfication" doesn`t work very well in this game. Max separation then and after adjusting conver i got halo only a bit on gun and great depth. I am really surprised how good this compatybility mode works in here.

I found this forum earlier today looking for how to play Far Cry 4 in NVidia 3d Vision (just like Far Cry 3). I have 2600k @4.8 with 16GB, MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr, Win 7 with latest Drivers and updates. I downloaded nvidiaInspector and added the FarCry4.exe to the Far Cry 3 profile. That is all I did. When I launched the game, I get the 3d Vision pop up telling me that I am running Far Cry 3. Far Cry 4 works just as good (for me) as Far Cry 3. If you wanted to, you could export the Far Cry 3 profile and re-import it as a Far Cry 4 Custom Profile enabling you to change setting without impacting Far Cry 3. The game works perfectly for me in 3d Vision now and I am very happy. All effects, shadows and water are perfect. Thanks for the help and links on this forum.

For sure. But i don`t know if Far Cry 3 profile is better then AC Unity. Definitelly you have to transfer SLI settings from FC3 profile. Anyway - Patch 1.4 is delayed. Might be released these week but until that happen keep in mind that there is USB connection issue. If you getting black screen or crash just switch off some of the usb componets. In my case that was small keypad.

I use 3DTVPlay. If I enable 3D via nvcp but play in 2D via a 2D only resolution, my frame rate is still cut by at least 25% in far cry 4. It also becomes extremely stuttery (Ie frame rate drops very low if moving fast.... Stop moving and goes back up to usual frame rate). Using same settings with 3D enabled in nvcp and its running nice and smooth)

I ended up buying far cry 4. Just played it for a few hours and it not bad. Seems like there is alot more to do compared to far cry 3. I think i might hold off on playing it though until there is a real 3D fix. I tried out CM for unity and idk if its really "better" than 2D its just so flat and muddy compared to real 3D. It doesnt help that im playing in 720p on my projector too. Hopefully one of the magicians on here can get a hold of it because open world games are just made to be played in there full 3D glory.

I don't understand all this "CM is flat" stuff. I get plenty of depth and convergence using CM in Far cry 4 on a 50 inch TV sitting about 3 feet away. CM used to be really flat without monitor depth adjustment, but latest drivers seem to have plenty of depth with CM.

Assassins Creed`s profile couse an issue in FC4 when you tagging enemies. Whole depth is gone when it happends so better avoid taging enemies. You can switch off tagging by gun in game menu but you can not change that when you use the camera. Also for those who wants to skip the opening intro animations. Create shortcut and add this line after quotes (example: "D:\Far Cry 4\bin\FarCry4.exe" -skipintro 1 )

Also looks like drivers doesn`t manage with gpu`s memory very well so the best way to improve performance is to set Terrain details to low which makes berly noticable change to visuals but eliminate annoying stuttering. Also if someone run 1440p resolution it is better to low it down to 1080p just until new drivers show up. Those changes helped me. Everything else in game is set to Ultra (except AA - i`m using FXAA) and i have smooth performance on 680 SLI.

I`ve checked a few different and recent profiles but only Assassins Creed Unity`s profile works nearly perfect like for CM. There is a few moments in game when animals are marked by other enemies and you gonna end up having this weird/flat view. Pass that is all good. Amazing game btw. So many beautiful places to go to and so much to do. Also addition of open world Co-Op is one hell of a adventure and unforgetable experience.
