Crysis 2 Profile/Driver Support Does what's available for download now support the game?

I bit the bullet and bought a GTX 580 in anticipation of Crysis 2 coming out this week. Do the currently available drivers support the game with a profile for 3D Vision?

So, here's what I did. Opened Nvidia Control Panel, clicked on "View compatibility with Games", and looked for Crysis 2. Not there. I take that to mean no profile.

A gtx 580 will run Crysis 2 smoothly in 3d at max settings. I've already tested it (the demo) disabling one of my 570's and a single one runs it maxed out in 3d. The 3d in C2 is done by the engine not 3d Vision drivers, and only affects framerate about 1.5 percent. It actually looks pretty good, but they could use a little more depth for us veteran 3d dudes.

I don't think it's possible to profile the game. Crysis 2 takes full control. Have you tried the multiplayer demo? When you turn on 3D Crysis 2 knows it, the in game option shows 3D is on when you turn on nvidia glasses.
The only problem I noticed is at long range it takes a while for the iron sight to adjust which throws me off. ANyone else notice this problem in multiplayer with 3d on?

Nathan Camarillo-executive producer for Crysis 2 said Crytek have been working on 3D technology in the game for two and a half years, Crysis 2 experience is 3D end to end, menus are in 3D, front end is in 3D, loading screen is in 3D, in-game cinematics are in 3D, and of course the game is in 3D. Nathan said Crysis 2 is at the forefront of 3D gaming. a natural and immersive 3D. So, here's hoping for good spacial perception in C2.

From my experience Crysis 2 native 3D can be disabled from in game. It will then be recognized just like any other title by 3D vision and IZ3D.

The 3D that the game uses, at least from the MP demo I played, isn't true stereo 3D to me and looks like ass. If we can't use traditional 3D Vision for this game then I will probably pass on it until it hits a bargain bin somewhere.

Not quite sure this is true. When I was playing the demo, anytime I hit Cntl T to turn on nvidia 3d vision all it did was automatically turn on the 3d option in crysis 2's settings. I won't know more till steam freaking releases the game in another 30 mins and me and a million other people try to download it all at the same time...(anger for not being able to preload lol)

I've heard that in the config files there is at least an option to choose between multiple 3D settings. But yeah, I'm pretty certain there was an option in the demo to switch between native 3D and driver based 3D, though I remember something to do with 3D being grayed out in the demo, maybe that's what's caused the confusion online. I couldn't say for sure though because my computer is nowhere near capable of playing that game right now (still got a 8800 GTS 512MB), so I removed the demo pretty quickly.

When the game starts up the text overlay from 3D Vision does announce that it is unknown and not rated by nvidia.
The display does however work in 3D in all the menus and in game with no super obvious problems that I've noticed so far.
The options menu for 3D looks like this:

So far I have not been able to get it to go into any mode other than "Driver".
Toggling 3D-Vision on/off with the hot keys turns the overall 3D on/off and when its on there is no other option.
Ok my findings so far is on my Alienware AW2310 with 3d Vision, disabling in game or with the nvidia emitter / cntrl T is all the same. I can control depth but not convergence wich sucks.
Playing through my Samsung 3d TV with 3DTV Play though crashes the game everytime. I had to disable 3DTV Play in the Nvidia control panel and use the Crysis 2 ingame 3D option set to side by side and it works wonderfully.
So anyone looking to play Crysis 2 on a 3D tv won't need to purchased 3DTV play but if your in this forum, you probably already own the nvidia 3d vision software anyway lol.
NOTE: The game looks amazing and is running super smoothly on Extreme settings at 1920x1080 with 3D enabled on both my 3d Vision alienware and through my Samsung. I am running a evga Geforce GTX465 1gig card if you needed to know.
Man I am drooling over the anticipation of the direct x11 update. If this game looks this good now...holy crap!! This engine has some great effects and I like some of the technical game stuff too, like the cover system is wonderful if you ask me. Kinda like Killzone 2 and 3 but way smother and simpler without the need to press a button to enter cover. When you peek around the corner your character will even rotate his body a little out of cover...great effect. The sound effects are also amazing. I would love to see more developers start using this engine.
The story and presentation so far is also very wonderful. I am really digging this game and was a huge fan of crysis and crysis warhead.
