I noticed that the majority of ppl here own a LG OLED (2016 model) with EDID override
Can the same thing be used on the Sony XBR 65Z9D (this is a 3D TV too)?
If it's a passive(FPR) 3DTV then it may work with EDID overrides. Because passive 3D technology is LG patented. If it doesn't work try making your own EDID override.

I was never able to find working EDID for my Sony 65X900A TV, an early passive/FPR 4K 3D TV (30 Hz limit for 4K 3D) with reasonable display lag. This forum’s EDID mods work great with every LG 3D TV I have purchased, however. Eventually, I replaced this X900A with LG 65E6 (you really need to stop shopping and get C6/E6 before they disappear)...
