i would suggest either the projector or a Mitsubishi dlp hdtv if you are in the states. these legacy sets are very affordable and have huge screens (i got a 65" for 1000$ shipped to my door)- good picture quality, are supported by some 3d blue ray players and work THE BEST for 3d vision. you can do anything these new tvs can at a fraction of the cost- when you hook a legacy tv up to a pc and 3d vision. The Mits also have a converter box that makes them compatible with all the new 1.4a specs.
the new 3d tvs are over priced and do not offer any higher resolution 3d gaming. you are paying more for nothing special. go check them out in person. They are a big let down for me- i was looking forward to buying one- but after seeing the specs and the TV's in person- im passing on this generation and waiting for true 1080p 3d projector or a new HDMI version HDtv. these new sets wont do true 1080p- only half resolution 1080p when hooked up to a pc- which is not any better than the checkerboard 1080p that the DLP Mit's already support. Plus who knows how long you will have to wait for Nvidia to release its software drivers that supports these new tv's- as of today the new 3d tv's are not supported at all- they will not work.
Best projector now is limited to 720p- which might be ok depending on your computers- specs.
You would definitely be best off waiting another year or so for the tech to get better and cheaper if you are dead set on a new TV.

i dont have one- but all the reports are very good for them. my only complaint is being limited to 720p- but it depends on your computer- keep in mind that 3d halves your performance any any game- so 720 might be all your computer can handle with a smooth framerate....
you might want to research if a 720p projector will support 3d blue ray- you might not be able to- im not sure about this- but 3d BD is supposed to be 1080p24hrz- so you might miss out on 3d blue ray- maybe someone else with more knowledge in these projectors can chime in... if you even care about 3d blue ray....

You can still view 3D Blue Ray with the Acer 720p projector. It will just downscale it down to 720p from 1080. You can see in it's specs it says it supports 1080 input. Also if you have a 3D Blue Ray drive in your computer and you use that, then the computer can downscale for you so in that case even the projector won't need to do the downscaling.

What's with that "it's not 1080p so no BluRay for you" ? I've seen that kind of stupidness many times.
You can watch any content of any resolution on any display resolution with a computer if your video player supports it. The picture will be resized, you won't get "the holy greatness of the true native untouched perfect 1080p" but it'll work.

Hey, the darkchip3â„¢ 720p , beats up a lot of 1080p. AFAIK the cheap 1080p dlp pj's are darkchip2, and TV's are not full resolution. Since Im going for 'surround, Im definately going for 720p native, overall perfomance hit will be around 1 fullHD @ 3d, totally worth it . On the other hand, polarised 3d will have its jaggies anti aliased the hell out , i mean its going to beat up 1080p once again . : )))

I watch blu rays on my 720p all the time and they look great. As far as gaming at 720p, download nhancer and turn on 4x4 supersampling and then watch in 3D. Jaggies no more!
