I was wondering if Diablo III will get much attention from Nvidia and Blizzard Entertainment in so far as improving the quality of the 3D? At the moment it has a rating for "good" with the latest BETA drivers.

About that "good" rating. It's a bit 'dodgy' IMO. If it will look like it did during that beta weekend, then it's a long way before it will be even playable in 3D. :(
Some of the time it's bearable... you have to turn off some stuff etc. but then you walk into a very "foggy" dungeon and everything is just wrong and "all over the place" in 3D. :(
WoW and SC have dedicated options for 3D added to them in the graphics menu and they corrected most of the anomalies in those games. Maybe eventually Blizz will do the same here.

There are some issues with Diablo 3 in 3D but I for one didn't find the errors as much disturbing as the poster above. Yes, the fogging is a tad out of order but the game is (perfectly) playable in 3D right from the start.
Okay..maybe not perfectly but the "good"-rating is well-deserved.

I was pretty happy with the 3d during the beta. Curser at screen depth was the worst thing for me but other than that enjoyable. You want to see a mess try sniper elite v2 in 3d, now theres a train wreak

Sometimes dynamic shadows fail in underground places (close to some light points) but that is not very annoying. Overally amazing 3D experience. Basically close to Starcraft 2 and i recon they will push it to the same quality.

I have no idea what ENAK is talking about, the 3D was almost perfect in the beta for me. Moved convergence so the tops of the tallest objects (trees) were just barely popping out of the screen and you don't even notice the 2D cursor. Other than than, an occasional shadow at the wrong depth. I'll definitely be playing this in 3D.

In the open Beta I played D3 with the shadows off, and the game looked amazing. My friend came over to have a look too and agreed that it looked great.
The improvements I would request are a 3D cursor and maybe to add some depth to the UI.
I can't understand why Enak had a problem with it, I get the feeling the left/right eye settings got inverted or something, because D3 was almost perfect for me other than having to lower the shadow settings. I'll be playing this in 3D until my eyes fall out :-)

Near the cathedral there were 2 crypts or something like that... They both had this "menacing fog". It was sort of like a volumetric effect but it looked completely wrong in 3D. I guess we'll see with the full version tomorrow if it's still like that. There are some screens on 3dvision live but none are from those places.

I'd agree with this assessment, the 3D was excellent once shadows were disabled. If they allow software mouse and push mouse and name/item plates to some depth similar to SC2 it will be even better. I'll also be playing it in 3D all the time, although I may go back to 2D at times if I get tired.

Anyway, shadows and fog should be easily fixed using Helix tools... /happy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Hopefully that's the case, online games like this can run into potential obstacles depending on how diligent blizzard is with blocking 3rd party injectors.

Yeah, most likely if you try using a "fake" DLL with Blizzards Warden software - you will get an instant ban. That ban will probably equal a lost game license and an inability to play any Blizz game connected to your BN account (WoW, SC).

I am hopeful Blizzard will patch in S3D support like they have in SC2 and WOW. If Torchlight 2's 3D is as good as the original, D3 will face stiff compo graphically with regard to 3D. With the right settings, Torchlight's graphics were actually pretty cool, great spell effects and they have had over two and a half years to improve on them.

Yea I'd be very wary of trying Helix on Diablo 3, even the single player is cheat protected like this as well.

When i start diablo 3 my 3d is on however in nvidia settings my 3d is off...how do i turn 3d off completely? When I go into window mode in diablo 3 sometimes its not in 3d, but if i tab out and do something else and tab back into the game the 3d starts again. This is quite annoying as I don't have the 3d glasses anymore so I'm seeing double. I have to keep tabbing in and out several times for the 3d to go away. Any one know how to fix this? Thanks.

I was wondering if Diablo III will get much attention from Nvidia and Blizzard Entertainment in so far as improving the quality of the 3D? At the moment it has a rating for "good" with the latest BETA drivers.
