Could someone explain WTF is going on.
I try to get 3d to turn on with some exe i wanna run in 3d...never mind what it is.
anyways. i start by launching inspector and creating profile and adding the exe to it.
the i apply and exit.
then i delete the nvdrssel file and run progile manager and export.
but after that strange things happen.
i open the file with notepad++ ....no sign of the profile.
i open inspector and look at the profiles...no sighn of the profile.
what in "god´s" name is happening ?

@Metaloholic ...deleting nvdrssel.bin is basically resetting the Drs/Profiles, you'll need to export the Profile with GF3DPM before deleting nvdrssel.bin ...export them, copy it, delete the bin, export them again and add it to them.

ok, stupid of me. i did again like you said but the geforce profile manager did not agree with me when importing,
allthough i had deleted the nvdrssel.bin file before importing back. i really don´t know what is
that programs problem. tryed admin, download again.. but i was managed to import with inspector.
but i did not get 3d on. but i realized it´s propably because the exe tried to run was flash...stupid
yet again.
but it´s possible to run this flash in chrome, can i make chrome to work in 3d vision ?
what i am trying to achieve is run this inputlag testes so that gpu is transmitting same frame sequential
signal than when playing games. As i have 3 projectors that one is "different" and "same" in paper and
in real life but i suspect it has different signal processing so different input lag, especially i suspect
the interpolation feature i use in movies from bluray is also different, but i can´t run this inputlag meter from my desktop player as it plays only blurays.
so is it possible to run chrome in 3d vision ?
i tried adding the chrome.exe under rise of the tomb rider profile ( don´t ask why, it was the first that came into mind as it has compatibility flag) but as the chrome starts it seems atleast try to start the 3d vision but it won´t turn on.
one other question, if i choose 3d to be on allthe time from nvidia control panel, why it´s not ?
it only kicks in when games are started, what does that option mean if it does not work, or
is that it´s all the time on but there needs to be DX aplication running ?

hi folks i'm trying to get this to work with final fantasy xiv online: a realm reborn (an mmorpg). as it stands, I use tridef power3d mode in the directx11 version of the client and I don't like tridef's results.
I followed the guide word for word. I navigate to program data, delete the nvdrssel.bin file, run Geforce 3D Profile Manager, delete nvdrssel.bin again, export > success, edit my file, delete nvdrssel.bin again, import > success, but then I have a problem. for me, the
Setting ID_0x709adada = 0x07f58257 InternalSettingFlag=V0
the line Setting ID_0x00161903 = 0x00000000 to activate ffxiv's 3d works, ctrl+t now works in game, but the CM line never "sticks." 3d compatibility mode never shows up in the ctrl+alt+insert information in game. ctrl+alt+11 does not work for me. suspecting that it erased this line, I then exporting again (properly), and sure enough, the profile is back to defaults without the CM line. (side note, even in normal 3d mode, only the directx9 client displays it properly--with corrupted shadows rendered at the wrong depth, which is why I want to try CM mode to fix it like tridef's power3d mode does. direcx11 client, however, does not display properly in normal 3d mode. when I ctrl+t it will just jump from one camera to the other instead of showing both interlaced). any idea what's going on here? It might have something to do with the fact that I have a passive 3dtv with an EDID override, but i'm not sure... also, for this game we have to change 0x00161903 from 0x00000001 to 0x00000000 to activate 3d in the first place. so my profile ends up looking like this:
Profile "Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn"

(without the parenthesis notations, of course)
when I import (properly), I am able to ctrl+t, but it never says compatibility mode active, and ctrl+alt+f11 does not work :( what am I doing wrong? please help! really want to see this game in 3d compatibility mode
here is the directx11 benchmark if you need it or don't have the game (it renders in game graphics) maybe you can play with it and help me make a profile I would be eternally grateful! thanks!

oh and if we can't figure this out but someone who stumbles upon this thread is desperate for ffxiv dx11 3d, I have worked out how to get it from tridef. it just takes a LOT of tweaking, a custom resolution, and is a bit unstable (I explain in great detail in this link, I have no idea why it is this way but basically it's good for a play session, then you have to fiddle with it again next time you log in. but man, ffxiv in dx11 3d is extremely beautiful and it's the only way I play it).
https://www.tridef.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6630
that's all we got afaik till we figure out a compatibility mode profile for 3dvision

There are a couple of games that have a setting "more or less" called "Disable3DVision". If that one is in the profile 3D either doesn't start or works very strange...
Try to experiment a bit will all the setting from the profile (remove one by one but leave the CM one inside until you see which one is giving you a hard time). :)

oh man lol. I should have mentioned that i'm pretty newb. TsaebehT I'm not sure what you mean when you say I can see what's going on. if I had to guess, maybe the StereoNotSupported setting ID? is that the one I should delete from the list helifax? or maybe i'm just completely confused lol.
anyway, while googleing setting IDs and what they mean, I stumbled upon this thread:
http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2016/08/final-fantasy-xiv-realm-reborn-v10-wip.html
where basically he accomplished what I was trying to do. except he has a bunch of .dlls I have to copy to my game directory, and re associate the ffxiv_dx11.exe to the witcher 3. just 2 things I don't like about this. a diff profile means different game optimizations, maybe not noticeable but another thing is his profile dims the lighting, and totally disables the shadows. which is cool, because they were rendered on the wrong depth (that's why I was using tridef power3d mode which is the same as 3d compatibility mode as I understand). so I like that this guy made the dx11 client work in 3d, oh and also he already has compatibility mode working on it (probably some witcher 3 setting) ... but what I don't really like that the shadows are disabled, because I want to see if 3d compatibility mode fixes their rendering depth like tridef's power3d does. and I don't like that everything is too dim.
Essentially I am trying to get the native "Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn" profile to make the dx11 version of the client (C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\game\ffxiv_dx11.exe) to work in 3d, with compatibility mode active--to see if it fixes the shadows like tridef power3d mode does in the dx11 client. I will try omitting items in the list to see if 3d kicks in as helifax suggested, but i'd still have the issue of the disappearing Setting ID_0x709adada = 0x07f58257 InternalSettingFlag=V0 (the compatibility mode fix). any help would be greatly appreciated! the link to the benchmark is at the end of my first post if anyone wants to try to help make the dx11 client work in 3d with compatibility mode, thanks!

What is the current state of compatibility mode? Does it still work? Does it work in 3D vision discover mode?
I read some older posts claiming Nvidia "broke" compatibility mode.
Yes it still works, I'd assume it works with Discover since the pics in the OP show it doing so.
...not sure where you read that they broke CM, they broke the ability to use DepthHacks to get greater separation/Depth out of CM but that's all I can remember them breaking.

I'm trying Original Sin for the first time. Geforce SLi Profile Manager does not work, throwing up an error.
For future reference, you have to do precisely what T says in the exact order for it to work:
1. export the Profile with GF3DPM
2. delete nvdrssel.bin
3. export profile again
4. add the custom profile to the correct section
5. import profile.
This worked for me at least. Since GF3DPM no longer works normally, perhaps we should add this info to post #1. The latest iteration of the tool is 6 years old now, and can be fond here:
https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2625/kw/Profile

I can confirm the original post still stands.
Geforce 3D Profile Manager still works as intended to this day. If it fails, is because one thing: User Error. :)
I have some other information that I want to add to the original post though;) Which should make the whole thing easier;)

that's all we got afaik till we figure out a compatibility mode profile for 3dvision

Try to experiment a bit will all the setting from the profile (remove one by one but leave the CM one inside until you see which one is giving you a hard time). :)

anyway, while googleing setting IDs and what they mean, I stumbled upon this thread:
http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2016/08/final-fantasy-xiv-realm-reborn-v10-wip.html
where basically he accomplished what I was trying to do. except he has a bunch of .dlls I have to copy to my game directory, and re associate the ffxiv_dx11.exe to the witcher 3. just 2 things I don't like about this. a diff profile means different game optimizations, maybe not noticeable but another thing is his profile dims the lighting, and totally disables the shadows. which is cool, because they were rendered on the wrong depth (that's why I was using tridef power3d mode which is the same as 3d compatibility mode as I understand). so I like that this guy made the dx11 client work in 3d, oh and also he already has compatibility mode working on it (probably some witcher 3 setting) ... but what I don't really like that the shadows are disabled, because I want to see if 3d compatibility mode fixes their rendering depth like tridef's power3d does. and I don't like that everything is too dim.

I read some older posts claiming Nvidia "broke" compatibility mode.
...not sure where you read that they broke CM, they broke the ability to use DepthHacks to get greater separation/Depth out of CM but that's all I can remember them breaking.

I can confirm the original post still stands.
Geforce 3D Profile Manager still works as intended to this day. If it fails, is because one thing: User Error. :)
I have some other information that I want to add to the original post though;) Which should make the whole thing easier;)
