mp4, heres the type of video I download http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3qxjFAGgWM
it saves itself as mp4.
I watched a youtube vid of a guy using adobe media encoder to change format to microsoft avi and that worked for him, but when I download adobe media encoder it wont work, I get the adobe updater when i click the exe.

Hehe, well, I just tried it and got exactly the same thing. It's a codec problem. Odd thing is, other playback programs (SMPlayer, Windows Media Player, and Quicktime) all display the side by side just fine. So somehow, someway we need to divine the right codecs and convince the player to use those. FFMpeg can probably convert it to a format that the NVIDIA player will understand but that will degrade the video.

Yeah, I'm one of them. Now I can't even get videos I recorded myself a couple of weeks ago to work.

What you have to do is go into the options, select decoder, then pick the right codec for the video and audio you are using (it won't tell you which one is having a problem). It's a MAJOR pain.

I've the same problem, but with Stereo Player (http://3dtv.at/Downloads/Index_en.aspx) I can see the downloaded videos.

I haven't got the last version, I don't remenber which one. It's the test version.

Downloaded with aTube Catcher (without conversion)

The forums are actually supposed to be for user to user help with some additional announcements from NVIDIA and maybe a little support if they've got some time. There's no dedicated support staff to answer questions, though. That's better handled here.

Downloading YouTube 3d videos for playback with nvidia 3D Vision Player is not something that we currently support. The funtionnality that we recently introduced is live streaming of YouTube 3D videoclip using a special FireFox HTML5 in-browser plug-in.

Zloth is also correct in saying that these forums are user to user forums enabled to let users exchange tips and tricks among themselves. Some of us like Andrew are sometimes taking a break from our official duties to help clarify key observations in the forums, but that is done on an irregular basis due to business travel or other obligations.

The core value of these forums is the knowledge that some enthusiast users like Zloth and others have gathered and willing to take the time to share with others, which is much appreciated!

Best regards,
Patrick

Yes, but that doesn't work for a lot of 3d vision users and there is no answer anywhere on the web on how to get it working , either by Nvidia or youtube.
I have latest firefox, latest Nvidia drivers, opted into youtube's html5, pass the checklist........error html5 is not supported.
And going by these forums, I'd say it's the minority of 3d vision users who can actually get youtube 3d to work.

You can't go by the forums. Nobody is going to log in to ask why it IS working for them. That's not to say that it IS working for the majority of users, either, I'm just saying we can't really tell.

It is possible to view downloaded YouTube videos in the NVIDIA 3D Vision Video Player. I know because I've done it. Then it stopped working after awhile. Maybe because I installed the free DivX codec? Maybe because I was fiddling around in there? Is it the audio or video that's wrong? I have no idea.

Well, if you download Stereoscopic player its exactly the same as nvidia 3d vision player except stereoscopic player has way more options /thumbsdown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> and stereoscopic player isn't free but it is soooooo much easier to play 3d content on than 3d vision player.
I have a couple of 3d movies that play fine on Stereoscopic player but crash 3d vision player /wallbash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wallbash:' />
I feel short changed with a sub par 3d player and not able to watch 3d youtube vids.
Games are fantastic don't get me wrong, but for 3d media, which i thought i would be able to see after forking out a fair bit of cash on this 3d kit, i feel let down and disappointed /thumbsdown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I'll have to try that one next. I tried the CyberLink thing and it was long on glitz but short on functionality. I remember having the same problem a year ago when I tried it - forcing it into 3D was possible but way too hard.

The ideal solution would be if the freeware players got into the 3D scene. I doubt NVIDIA is very interested in making picture/video software. It's really not their "thing" to be making software like that.
