I have right now 2 pairs of anaglyphic glasses
1 pair is the red/blue type
the other pair is 3d but its a clear type that shows 3d images in a movie
will both of these work?
I don't think the clear ones will. You will be able to get the anaglyph ones to work though. Just make sure you set it to anaglyph in the NVIDIA stereo control panel.
do these drivers for the stereo affect performance on a 6800GT card?
Yes, the stereo driver affects performance of all cards but don't be discouraged yet, you will not notice or care so much about fps when your playing in stereo unless it gets real slow and choppy.
If you are looking for shutter glasses you might want to look on e-bay. I recently got a pair of X3D glasses from e-bay for around $30, because I wanted to try the PC gateway software that comes with it. It is the same exact glasses and dongle that I got from ED for much less.

Basically the clear ones (I'm assuming you got them from a theater or something?) are polarized glass, with one eye turned 90 degrees from the other. Ever tried to look at your watch (assuming it's digital) with one of those, in one eye it's black, and in the other eye, it's fine, then tilt your head 90 degrees, and it swaps, now it's the other eye that you can't see the time with. That is the same effect in movies. In a projection style movie, they shoot 2 versions of the film, one slightly pivoted from the other, and shoot it on the same screen so it looks like double vision. Well one of the projections project light that is 'flipped' horizontally, and the other flipped vertically using a liquid crystal filter. This way your left eye only sees the light that is flipped to the alignment that passes though the left eye glass, and same goes for the right eye. This way, your eyes both get a different image, one pivoted a little from the other, giving your brain some 3d aspect information to process and hence the 3d effect. That's why it's called sterio (meaning 2). So unless your monitor can send out polarized light in 2 directions (I don't believe that they exist, however something similar does exist), it will not work, and if you have an LCD monitor, you'll end up with a single view of the screen (remember the watch experiment?). Hope this informed the many of you who read this.

I pay my city for easier transportation and my rights.
I pay my complex manager for my home.
I pay Cox for easier access to information via internet.
I pay Staples for easy service in finding Office Supplies.
I pay my cell phone company for easy calls from anywhere.
But exactly who do I pay for an easier life and how much does the premium package go for?
I have right now 2 pairs of anaglyphic glasses
1 pair is the red/blue type

will both of these work?
Also Is using 3d stereo worth it for games like city of villains?
do these drivers for the stereo affect performance on a 6800GT card?
I am also considering getting shutter glasses if 3d stereo is worth it
