Non integer upscaling isn't a problem for me when I use 1080p in my 1440p monitor. There is mandatory (sadly) bilinear filtering anyway so there shouldn't be much difference compared to a resolution that is an exact divisor, like 720p.
can you elaborate more on this? I am concerned about using 1080P on 1440P monitor (hence I stil haven't bought the PG278QR yet. So there's no noticable image loss or blurriness in ur case?

After a short while with this monitor, I can't get myself to play in 1080P on it, if the game only supports that, I don't play it !! Your eyes very quickly gets spoiled with the ultra sharp and crispy picture, and there's no going back :)

Well, so much praise for the QR in the thread... I've spent too much time trying everything but crosstalk is a lot worse compared to my Benq XL2420TX so I try to understand why that is happening to me. OTOH I know I'm not alone complaining with bad crosstalk. You must have seen my pictures in the other thread. Now that we are at the end of 2017, any new 1440p monitor worth it? It sucks that I'm collecting all the parts for a new rig and the monitor came early but in the end I'll return it and have no alternative. I really tought the QR would be the top and was happy to jump on it with the Black Friday price. Oh well.

There's a new 27 inch G-Sync monitor from Lenovo that does 1440P@240Hz using a TN panel. $999.99 MSRP seems excessively pricey though. https://www.144hzmonitors.com/monitors/lenovo-legion-y27gq-review/

To that time I compared it side by side with the Asus VG278HR. The VG278HR was superior in terms of ghosting. I set both to the approximate equal level of brightness. Although the BenQ was a good monitor overall it had a really annoying remote control. Although the idea was nice that you can control the OSD like this it was super slow and laggy. Switching through profiles took ages... useless. Before switching to the PG278Q I also compared results side by side with Asus VG278HR. The PG278Q is not worse in terms of ghosting than the Asus VG278HR. So in my opinion Asus produces the best 3D monitors but it's interesting to see how opinions differ. Maybe BenQ did do a better job for 24" panels... I don't know. But 27" was clearly worse.

anyone here knows if the dell s2716dg would be a good upgrade from my good old asus vg278h? I'm not sure what to expect from these newer monitors, 3D-wise... I wouldn't mind if ghosting isn't improved so much, but if it's worse somehow, that would suck. I've already got an external emitter kit sitting on my shelf for when the time comes. ok so I just found out about ULMB, now that's interesting, I think I'll go for it... I may get one for 400cad which seems like a good deal

I have the Dell S2718DG and love it due to the $375 price I paid. The upgrade to 1440P is very noticeable and well worth it. There are a few others that have it as well and like it. There are also others that have bought it and returned it do to issues and instead bought Asus 1440P monitors. So YMMV. Just make sure to adjust brightness and sharpness when viewing a high contrast screen image to minimize crosstalk/ghosting. Be sure that you go into the OSD "others" and "disable" deep sleep, otherwise, there is a known issue with it waking up.

thinking of upgrade my benq 2720z (1080p). Just found out hte PG287QR is $566 on Amazon, still very expensive for a monitor release a while ago, is it still the best choice for 1440 3d monitor today? Is there better options now ? I've been only gaming in 1080p 3D, is rtx2080 enough for 1440p 3d games ?
thinking of upgrade my benq 2720z (1080 res) and eyeing asus ROG swift PG278QR myself. Is rtx2080 enough for 1440 in 3d games ?
Well um if you consider 45 to 60fps acceptable then yes. I do. I have a 1080 Ti and I can hit that range on Witcher 3 at 3200x1800. I hit 50 avg at 1440p. from my understanding a 2080 is the same as a Ti except for the lower Vram For the record the 1080 Ti handles games decently at 4K3D if you don't jack up all settings to ultra.

great I don't have to worry about fps then, what monitor do you use for 1440 3D and would you recommend it ?
