3D in JRPG-gem Trails of Cold Steel (DX11)
  2 / 2
New version, with water fixed in the port and dungeon just after that in the city of chapter 4. Same link: https://s3.amazonaws.com/masterotaku/Trails+of+Cold+Steel/Trails_of_Cold_Steel_3D_Vision_fix.7z New feature: character glasses toggle :p. So now you can see Emma, Machias and other NPCs without them. Press the "5" key to toggle them (not the numpad). Important instructions, if you have Windows 10 updated to the latest version. There's an option that you have to enable in the game exe ("ed8.exe" or "ed8jp.exe" properties), compatibility tab, the one that says "Disable fullscreen optimizations". Check that checkbox, or else the game will crash.

I've finished chapter 6 today, after weeks of being stuck. Expect the official fix soon, because I'm starting chapter 7 now and there are very few extra things to check.

The fix is complete! I had to fix more broken effects in chapter 7 and add more shaders for the no glasses mode :p. Get it here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/masterotaku/Trails+of+Cold+Steel/Trails_of_Cold_Steel_3D_Vision_fix.7z I'll make the blog post tomorrow, with the same link. I'll make a guide about how to make it work with SpecialK (needed for HD texture mods), which is fairly easy (removing ReShade loading and little else). Man, the game was long. Almost 140 hours (OK, I did some grinding and completionist things). Edit: now I have to resume Trails in the Sky (I should publish the fix soon) and the "Tales of" games.

Published! I've reuploaded the fix because I forgot to disable some logging.

I've updated the fix with 3Dmigoto 1.2.67 (no shader changes). By the way, the game now uses the GOG Galaxy overlay (in the GOG version). Disable it or the game will crash 100% of the times you try to boot it. I've also updated the Trails in the Sky fix with that 3Dmigoto version. These updates are minor, so I didn't bump their posts.

I have updated the Trails in the Sky blog post to add fixes for the second and third game. I figured out how to make HUD depth not affect small geometry elements (paintings, some plants, stuff at the side of staircases...). I haven't played the second and third game to completion yet. If I find something else that is fixable, I'll update the fixes.

The sequel to this amazing turn-based JRPG was released yesterday and masterotaku's original fix works almost flawlessly! Just copy the ToCS-fix into the "your ToCSII directory"/bin/Win32 folder, where the exe-file is located and you're good to go. There are only a few minor issues, like the hot springs in the first area and snowflakes not displaying at the correct depth. Please give these hidden gems a chance, if you're not turned off by the anime-style art direction, as the series is much more rewarding than Final Fantasy or Persona in my opinion.

Fix updated, up to the standards I set for Cold Steel 2 and the Sky games lately :). Motion blur (with its own hotkey) and menu image not affected by HUD depth. Also stereoized minimap.
