I'm trying to establish a baseline here. A game that we all agree runs as perfectly as possible will give me a good idea of what 3d gaming ideally looks like.
So far, in all the games I've tried (Alien:Isolation, Far Cry 4, Shadow of Mordor, Styx, a few others) no matter which depth and convergence settings I use, some part of the display is ghosted, if I'm using the term correctly. Its Duplicated. The deeper the depth, the closer to the foreground the ghosting becomes.
TBH I'm not certain whether this is a problem with my eyes or with the 3d effects. I'm hoping this post will clear that up for me. :D
Thanks,

It doesn't sound like you are using the HelixMod/3Dmigoto fix for Alien Isolation, Shadow of Mordor, or Far Cry 4. All of those games are nearly flawless in 3D with our fixes. Styx has not been fixed yet.

Pretty much all games are straight up busted in 3D without our fixes.
There are a handful of actually good games- Tomb Raider 2013, Trine 1,2,3, Batman games (not DK), Max Payne 3, GTA5.
Anything that Nvidia rates as "3D Vision Ready" will work very nicely. All their other ratings are completely wrong.

Its true, without the hard work of a some members of this community standard 3D is not very good by default in most games. But thanks to the efforts of some people it is possible to have very good 3D experience.

There is a hardware-related phenomenon called 'Ghosting'. But if you are using "3D Vision 2(!)" certified monitor and glasses this ghosting should be only marginally perceptible in most cases. (It depends on the picture: sharp contrasts will result in more ghosting, e.g..)
Of course it is a matter of individual sensitivity if and to what degree someone gets bothered by this type of ghosting.

Alien Isolation is the first game I tried (using the inspired Helixmod fixes, truly this is an amazing community) and the game is ghosting like a mofo. My monitor is a
"Sony KDL50W800B 50-Inch 1080p 120Hz 3D Smart LED TV (2014 Model)", and the glasses that came with it. Maybe its not certified? Maybe its the crappy Walmart HDMI cable? Maybe its the dual visual ports on my face?
Out of the above list of games, I own but haven't tried Tomb Raider or Metro Last Light. The others, regrettably, are haunted with ghosts. I'll see if I can figure out how to take 3d pics and show some examples.

Ghosting can be problematic with certain displays etc....anyone sensitive to ghosting may want to consider either now or in the future to go with a projector. Ghosting is eliminated 99% literally. I used to have Samsung plasma where ghosting was problematic. The only way I could deal with it was to adjust the TV settings such as gamma, contrast etc....it helped a lot but did not eliminate. After switching to a projector, ghosting is a non issue. Example, the BENQ W1070 along with a nice size screen will cost you less than you may think. There is also a short throw model W1070ST. The only caveat is you need the right space for a projector. I never regret the change to a projector, best 3D experience to date and amazingly immersive with a bigger screen!
Any game fixed on the Helix mod page or a game that is labeled 3D Vision Ready are worthy "ideal" candidates. This is subjective since everyone's tolerance with technical issues as it relates to hardware will vary.

Some things can help HD 3DTVs with ghosting, such as renaming the output to PC or Gaming.
Some Samsungs can accept a Checkerboard format, I believe they refer to it as pixel mode.
"Sony KDL50W800B 50-Inch 1080p 120Hz 3D Smart LED TV (2014 Model)"
This is almost certainly the problem. Many 3DTVs just don't handle ghosting well, particularly if they're passive displays. Turning down brightness/contrast settings can help.
