Crysis3 3D Vision - How to increase default maximum depth by tweaking 3D settings???
  2 / 5
@Libertine, thanks!... i try to make the gun 3D, but when i do that (by gun focus option), the gun looks inside the screen over the trees and no matter what values puts its a mess, so i have to maintain 2D.
I try today Crysis 3 with Tridef (i install again tridef to play Bioshock Infinite, and decide to test this game also)....and for my surprise Tridef do dual render. With Tridef the game have some issues, but have real 3D: - Lights probles (minor) - Shadows Problems (minor) - Reflections issue - 2D Crosshair - The Gun looks like 2D image (like 2D sprite...LOL) I post this like an alternative, i have to disable 3D in NVCP and disable the 2D+depth render in-game. Also have to play 720p SBS mode, reduce to HIGH some advanced options, and use FXAA...the game eats CPU and GPU.....i have 45 fps and sometimes drops to 25fps.....maybe using NORMAL options i can increase a little more fps. i attach 2 Screenshots
If Tridef can do dual render why Nvidia can't? Isn't the cvars locked in the 1st place by Crytek the developers, so how can Tridef do real 3D, are you sure its dual frame render? I'll take a look at your pics when I get home. I am at work atm. Very curious about how these pics look like... Anyway, I have Tridef software uninstalled, never liked it at all. But I have it since I own a Samsung S27A950D monitor that has Tridef license, but I had it uninstalled because I was having issues with my 3D Vision games. It's hard to have both 3D choices at the same time. I would start a 3D Vision game and it would start as Tridef, a big mess in my PC, that's why I got rid of Tridef drivers. Tridef has serious performance hits compared to 3D Vision, it's not SLI compatible which is terrible for 3D gaming. The lack of full 1080p per eye and only SBS is something that makes me stay away from this software. I would never sacrifice to play a game in 720p, instead of 1080p, specially using my monitor. Crysis 3 3D quality really sucks cause it's fake 3D, but doing real 3D in 720p in side-by-side mode without SLI woudn't really help much I guess. There's already a big deal of quality difference between frame sequential vs side-by-side, so Tridef is definatelly not a choice for me. Anyway, thanks for the information. I had high expectations for Crysis 3, but what a huge disappointment!!!! I'll just ignore Crytek releases from now on if they continue with that 3D policy. What they're doing regarding this fake 3D is a total desrespect for the 3D Vision and 3D community. Crytek 3D approach to Crysis 2 and 3 is what gives the name gimmick to 3D.... Crysis 2 was at least playable in 3D cause I could tweak the config.cfg file to get more depth, but this is not possible with Crysis 3 anymore cause of the locked cvars, so there's nothing I can do to make this game more pleasent. I hate the fake 3D but I can bear with it if at least I get resonable depth that will be similar to at least 40% depth of real 3D. The maximum Crytek 3D depth buffer is a joke, that 100% looks like 15% of real 3D depth. Such a flat depth that it kills the whole 3D gaming experience. I just wished I could still play games in 2D, so I would definatelly give some credit to Crytek for releasing Crysis 3 and I am sure I would be Wowing about this game, but I am to damn spoiled by 3D Vision and there's nothing I can do to go back to 2D anymore. I don't know how to explain, but in Crysis 3 the fake 3D is even worst than in Crysis 2, cause C3 features to many dark night scenes and the lack of real 3D and proper depth just ruins the gameplay. I get lost most of the time and most of the scenarios are so dark that it's hard to pay attention to any details and other beautiful effects they may have added to the game. C2 had way more daylight scenes so it was easier to stand the fake 3D, I guess. Crysis 3 is really a paradox: It has the best 2D graphics to date and the worst 3D graphics of all games I've seen in 3D... Go figure?????

franco, i have to disable Nvidia 3D and In-Game "3D"...so im using Tridef S3D render, its not Power3D. The performance hits with real 3D its very high, even with 720p SBS mode.....so 3D 1080p/60 FP its too much...i think that its why devs block real 3D. With Tridef the gun looks like a 2D image (in low res).... but the rest of the scene its S3D. I will try to take more screenshots. Edit1: I attach 2 more Screenshots (remember to swap eyes CTRL+W)

I loved crysis3 in 2d I bought vision 2 glasses..crysis3, crap. Excellent rating...! rating system sucks. I give this a big fat F (fail) Borderlands 2, older game. 3D is far Superior than crysis3. I give this an A+ Metro 2033, much older. 3D is the best. I now am playing this again with 3D vision, who cares what the rating is, the rating sucks. I rate this as a AAA+++ for 3D vision. Lots more games to try..

Try Dead Space 3 + Helix fix and Max Payne 3 in 3D - definatelly AAA+ Crysis 3 really sucks big time in 3D. It is stupid that the Cvars are locked and for what reason??? Isn't enough that we're stuck with fake 3D, and why not give us options like in Crysis 2, so we could tweak the 3D settings and get a more reasonable 3D depth. It would look much better, I mean gameplay would be much better, the looks would still be the same, fake 3D shit!!!! I can't stand such a flat depth, makes me dizzy all the time. DHR, I know how Tridef works, but without SLI and beign forced to play in 720p + SBS is definatelly no way to go. When Crysis 1 come out in 2007, only 9% of users were able to play this game in very high settings, so I don't think the devs locked the real 3D for that reason, but because they were to lazy to make the game 3D ready, so they gave us this shit that console users may like and say wow what a nice 3D, but for us PC 3D gamers, off course this fake 3D tech is a joke. Making this game work in real S3D would drive many 3D Vision users to upgrade to new cards if the game looked beyond amazing in 3D, and I am 100% sure that if we played Crysis 3 in low settings in real S3D it would look light years better than playing the game in fake 3D in very high settings. Don't you agree? I am 100% sure of that claim. I know the power of real 3D and what does to games that look mediocre in 2D like Left 4 Dead for example that when 3D is enabled, the game simply gains life, its a whole different game in 3D. So can you imagine Crysis 2 and 3 in real FS 1080p 3D? It would blow our minds away!!! when using real 3D, there's no need for AA at all cause the feeling of doubled resolution, AA is a feature needed only for 2D and fake 3D (2D + Depth) users. Crysis 3 looks really good in medium and high settings, the differences are not really big, more like lighting details and other stuff. I am sure if we had real 3D we could play Crysis 3 doing some sacrifices that woudn't make a big difference and I am sure we all would be amazed with Crysis 3 in real 3D for sure. This games has amazing graphics and I can only imagine how much better it would look in real 3D, cause I am sure the graphics would looks at least 2x sharper and realistic. There's just no excuse for Crytek to keep using this shit. Metro 2033 is very heavy, and I don't see any fake 3D in that game, actually no other game I've played uses this tech and truly hope this crappy tech stays in Crytek engine for good. I hope there will not be a contamination process with this kind of fake 3D, cause this would definatelly be the end of 3D for good. Fake 3D is gimmick, is what gives 3D a bad reputation among haters.

If you want to play Crysis 3 in Real 3D right now (with their limitations), use Tridef, its the only software at the moment that offer Real 3D for Crysis 3 (and maybe Crysis 2)
That an anaglyph ... those glasses give me a headache. Like I said, I hate fake 3D, so 2D-3D conversion feature is something that I totally ignore. Crytek fake 3D is not as bad as 2D-3D conversion at least. I've tried using my Samsung S27A950D's 2D-3D conversion just for a moment in Crysis 3 and I cound't stand it for more than 30 seconds. It was horrible all the way!!! When I went back to Crytek's fake 3D, there was a huge difference, much better, or to say at least, it's crappy, but not hideous!!! I still ask myself this question everyday: Why 3DTV's and 3D displays still features such an useless feature like 2D-3D conversion??? There isn't a single benefit for such a lame tech. I hate when I go to stores in the they use this horrible conversion features to advertise 3D. I am certainly that most of the gimmick comments and hate about 3D comes from folks that have actually never seen real 3D and only seem this shitty tech, so off course they will hate 3D, I would also.

I guess fake 3d is for consoles, as they may not have the power for true 3d. Full 3d needs 2x gpu power. Graphics card manufacturers should push for real 3d for PC's as it increases gpu sales. If I wanted a half a job, I would have bought a PS3.

Correct, its for consoles, so why da hell Crytek forces us PC users to use such a lame tech when whe have rigs that are perfectly able to provide full dual render 3D? No other game developer makes us use fake 3D. Even games that have not 3D in mind like Farcry 3 accept real 3D with many issues, but the end user always finds a way to make the game at least playbale, like Helix for example. All games, even the not 3D supported ones, let the Nvidia drivers do real 3D, so there's no excuse for Crytek blocking us real 3D, there's just no excuse? In my opinion it's a total desrespect for the 3D Vision community. I still have to find one true 3D Vision user that like that crappy fake 3D. Most 3D users are not even playing Crysis 3 because of that fake 3D shit. They're just ignoring the game. Crysis 3 was made only for 2D PC users, period.
