When I try to enable 3D in Far Cry 2 I get the following error on the screen and no 3D affect:
Warning: attempt to run stereoscopic 3D in Non-Stereo
display mode, please change to acceptable mode. see
documentation for acceptable stereoscopic 3D modes.
I'm up to date on the latest version and other games like WoW and Left4Dead work fine. Any ideas?
GPU Driver version 182.08
Nvidia 3D Vision Driver 182.07 Beta
Viewsonic FuzHion 22" 12Hertz Monitor
Vista Ultimate x64
Nvidia 8800GTX
Intel Core i7 920
6GB DDR3 1600
150GB Velociraptor HD
I uninstalled the graphics driver and reinstalled it with the one provided on the 1.05 beta CD rather than seperate graphics/3d drivers. Still no go.
I ran the game in Direct X 9 instead of 10, and I got 3D! I updated my DirectX drivers to the latest version and I still can't get it to run in 3D until DX10.

I have the same problem with any direct x 10 game. I think it's a driver limitation because not a single dx10 game has worked for me unless I run it at dx9.

Isn't that kind of funny that DX9 works the best. I am a firm believer in 3d Vision and know I had to sacrifice windows XP to use this, but DX9 works great so you know it could easily work with Windows XP. I wonder if theres a way to hack the driver files to make it work in XP......
