1 / 2
Hello , Does anyone know if IZ3D had released its source code to the public or not and of so does anyone have a copy of that ? Besides what happend to the official users licenses, does the software still work after 30 days if you own a licence from before then shut down business ? RJ

It's only good for old games and did not have OpenGL support. I seem to recall that they posted a workaround for the trial expiration when they dropped support. Google or search their forums. (I'm not 100% on this) Also, as far as the source code, they tried to sell it for $900,000 as I recall. No one bit and it was never released. or was it 600,000?

There was an ultimate edition with a trial reseter shared in their forums, but forum is dead now. If you want, I can upload it. I use Iz3D for some old games time to time.

http://3dvision-blog.com/7891-what-is-the-current-status-of-the-iz3d-driver-open-source-project/ Tried to extort money by mislabeling it 'open-source', and failed. So they took their ball home and ruined it instead. Someone somewhere has the source, but it would require trying to track down original devs to see it could be open-sourced now. It has literally zero value now, so no lawyer will care.

I was hoping to find a solution for DX9 games to provide SBS to vorp X until the day users can tweak profiles themselves into Geometry mode, but it appears that the VR driver crashes while using IZ3D .

TriDef offers every available stereoscopic format output, excluding proprietary Sensio formats. Nvidia offers the same on Quadro, no idea of any imposed restrictions that might prohibit choosing the format of choice. http://international.download.nvidia.com/quadro/product-literature/user-guides/3DVISION_PRO_User_Guide.pdf It's a shame that Nvidia restricts the available stereoscopic formats for consumer GPUs.

Yes i read about the quadro too, but those cards cant be used for modern gaming. And I guess Tridef will probably not work either together with vorp x. I really hope that this https://www.vorpx.com/power-to-the-people/ will become true not too far away in the future. I am not the only one how is yearning for that.

What games need IZ3D that can't work in 3D by other methods (like dgVoodoo)?

We are talking about Side by Side Stereo output. DGVoodo doesnt provide that (would be great though if it could some day though)

I think what i am trying to do might not be possible at all since (i am new to dll injection) they probably all hook into the same spot.

Have you checked YouTube for whatever you are trying. 9 times out of 10, YouTube has the answer. For those other times, you must consult the "all knowing"

I used to use the iZ3D driver a lot back when I had an AMD GPU. I liked it a lot, still use the iZ3D keyboard shortcuts instead of Nvidia's. I had the iZ3D ultimate package on a flash drive. Plugged it recently and my antivirus freaked out with the trial resetting program. There aren't any games that currently require the iZ3D driver unless you are digging for old hardware and found an original iZ3D monitor. Great concept for a full-resolution passive 3D monitor at a time when 3D Vision was completely dead (Geforce 7~8 era). It had 2 panels stacked on top of each other. The read panel produced colour, the front panel controlled polarization. Works great in theory, but the execution was flawed resulting in a lot of ghosting (single polariztion control per pixel instead of one per sub-pixel), and a 1-frame lag between image and polarization layer. (image transmission through 2 separate DVI outputs : which are not Frame-locked on gaming consumer GPUs). I believe Avatar : the game (Ubisoft) was the only game to have a native iZ3D monitor format rendering. There is one thing of note about the iZ3D driver, is that it's performance was completely different from 3D Vision or Tridef. I particularly remember one game which was strangely completely bottlenecked with Tridef, but ran butter smooth with iZ3D. Others which ran smoothly with Nvidia or Tridef mysteriously bottlenecked with iZ3D. Also iZ3D never managed to support SLI.
