3d Compatible displays run at true 120 Hz. Can you make windows run always at 120 Hz without stereo
If you have a true 120 hz display it will always run at 120 HZ, if the device connected to it supports it. How cool would it be to always play at 120 HZ without using Nvidia 3d vision. Hold on, Hold on!! I absolutly LOVE NVIDIA 3d VISION, but games like Crysis need monster Computers to play with decent frame rates. These true 120 HZ t.v.'s should run through windows at 120 HZ so while in games without 3d vision there would be absolutly no screen tearing!! Imagine playing on your 60 + t.v. at 120 HZ!! It would rock.
If anyone knows how to force Windows to recognize these DLP t.v.'s that support "True 120 HZ" please list here. Thank You

I can appreciate why 120Hz would reduce tearing on many games, but I don't think tearing is a problem with Crysis.
IIRC tearing is caused by the monitor refresh rate not being as high as the the framerate so motion causes the picture to "break" as the monitor can't keep up.
My computers is fairly "monster" and I never have worry about my Crysis framerates exceeding 60fps. Maybe in 2015. /shifty.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':shifty:' />
In any case, I'd be interested to know the answer to this as well, presumably the TVs and LCDs run at 120Hz always. Andrew?

If you go into Costco and look at t.v.'s side by side and watch moving objects IE: (balloons moving up, end credits moving up or images moving to the side, 120 HZ looks AMAZING. It would be nice to game with such smoothness. My computer is no where close to monster either! (yours smokes mine) In 3d vision I would probably get 25 FPS with 3d vision on. I would just like to play this game with the smoothest possible gameplay. I would rather drop settings to make sure I get 60 FPS.
