Please HELP! Downloaded 190.38 but get Error message. 190.38 Driver bundle doesn't work when
Hi, I really need some help because I have installed the latest 190.38 driver on to my Vista 64 PC correctly but when I try and run the stereoscopic driver I get this message:

I try to connect my Infra-Red hardware using the Nvidia 3D control panel but the hardware will not connect.

I have read some older forum posts and it seems if you download the 3D and Graphics drivers separately this solves the problem. However, I am not good with computers so would somebody please let me know where I can find the separate installation files for both the 3D vision software and the 190.38 driver. I have downloaded the 190.38 (3D Vision Software included) driver and it is sitting on my PC ready to install after I remove my current Nvidia drivers. As the software is bundled with the driver, what do I need to do to find the separate 3D and driver installation files from this download? Also, please can you let me know which files I have to click in order to start the separate installations? Should I restart my PC after installing each or after installing them both?

Lastly, does anybody know for sure if doing this will solve the problem? If not, can you suggest what will and why haven't Nvidia patched this problem yet?

Thanks very much to anybody and everybody that can help!

I had the same issue. There is something wrong with the video card driver. Just download the driver from Nvidia again. That fixed it for me.

Thanks but unfortunately I have already reinstalled the 190.38 driver bundle but the problem persists. I downloaded the 190.38 driver bundle through Moziila Firefox. Does it make any difference if I download it with M$ Internet Explorer instead?

Can anybody explain what I need to do to install the drivers separately as described in my first post?

I notice that Europe has no telephone / direct e-mail support for Nvidia products which I find completely unacceptable. They offer support to North America so why do they not support their customers in other countries? Does the money we pay for Nvidia products not count? Does anybody know how I can get in touch with Nvidia Customer support so that they can help me with the 190.38 driver problems that I am having?

Thanks for any help! /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I had same issue, go to NVidia page and download this driver just for graphic card, then use nvidia.com to get the 3D Vision driver, after u click on everything it offers u the 186 something driver, but in the text below there is a link just for stereo driver 190,38 (Some stuff about RE5etc.), after u will choose 3D Vision and system version on main page nvidia, there appears the page with the link.
You have just to download the drivers separately, uninstall the drivers u had before, restart, install graphic driver, restart, install 3d vision driver... worked well for me on Vista.

Thanks very much for your help! How do I download only the 190.38 driver without the Stereo Driver seeing as they come in a bundle together and they get installed together when you click on the downloaded file? When I go to the Nvidia site and enter my graphics card details it only offers me the 190.38 bundle and I have no access to any other drivers for my GTX295 graphics card.

If it is not to much trouble, can you copy the links to each download here so I can easily download them. Sorry to be a pain but I am really bad at anything technical!

Right, well unfortunately none of the 190.38 drivers worked for me so I downloaded the new BETA 3D Vision CD Driver and downloaded the drivers directly from the installation guide. What do you know?! Hey presto, everything is working better than ever! So, if anyone is having the same issues as me, un-install your current graphics display drivers and also the 3D Vision Driver if you have it installed. Restart your PC and the download the new BETA 3D Vision Driver CD 1.10 (I think) from Nvidia BETA Driver menu. Then simply extract the files onto your desktop and click the Installation Application file and follow the instructions. Install the drivers from this download first then restart your PC and install the 3D Vision Stereo Driver. Everything should work fine after this and you should be able to plug in your 3D Vision IR emitter and enable 3D without further issues.

Apologies for the newbie question here. It's probably been covered before but I need to know the current status.

Last few times I have changed drivers in vista 64 I uninstall driver, reboot and then windows tries to install drivers by itself. Not sure where it's getting them from.
How do I stop this from happening? as I'm sure it's messing things up.

In the olden days, we used to unistall, go to safe mode, use some driver cleaning program and reboot etc.
Is it still the case? Surely not after all these years!

Thanks,
