Hello,
I have buy a new samsung tv witch i would like to use with my alienware m14x R2 to play games in 3D. It seems like there is some tweak to get 3d vision runnning on that. i have allready tryed some drivers from nvidia but nothing helped to get that thing running. today i have bay a new hdmi cable to be sure that this aint gonna be the reason why there is no 3d sterescopic panel in nvidia controls.
now after two days trying to get 3d vision running i really feel a lil bit helpless...
i hope someone here has a good advice for me how to get that running.
Here some specs.:
Alienware M14x R2:
GeForce GT 650m 2GB
Win 8 Pro x64
Samsung TV:
UE40ES6100W
What i have tried:
New Drivers (310.70)
Restardet after install
TV Selected as mainscreen and also display only on TV after both tries restarded
Changed resolutions (and again restart...)
There is no 720p resolution to chose...
Best Regards
A. V.

Sorry, not much experience with Laptops. Unfortunately, for some weird reason, every Laptop owner has never reposted whether they got it to work and what they did.
So first question is why 3D Vision? You should be trying to enable 3DTV Play, especially since it offers checkerboard formatif your TV supports it.
So a few things. First you have to have the 3D Vision portion of the drivers installed, it will also contain the 3DTV Play drivers. Most of the time, it is better to get the GPU driver from the Laptop manufacturer. As I understand it, they tweak the drivers to comform with their power management and vairious hardware/software installed on their product.
You should make sure your bios is up to date, as well as all other things.
You may need to disable your integrated display in order to get it to work.
3DTV Play is $40 and you can try a free trial at first.
You do not list the Model # of your TV, so it might not even be supported yet.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-overview.html
If your TV is not on the list, you'll need to follow the instructions at http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2774
It is a 3D HDTV isn't it? A 2D 120Hz will not work.

Sorry, I overlooked the model#.
It looks like that is a 2D TV. http://www.samsung.com/es/consumer/av/televisions/slim-led/UE40ES6100WXXC
Also it looks like there are some updates for it in the support section, you might want to check those out.

The playstation 3 worked also with assassin's creed in 3d ;)
EDIT - I get the same message when i try to open 3D Vision Photo Viewer
Isn't that TV a 2D TV. #D TVs have a special demuxer that seperates the right and left inmages, 2D Tvs do not have this.
i am sure that my tv is able to display and to transform the signal as it is needed. Its sue that he is able to display frame-packed video data. so i really dont understand what is the problem.
what is the difference between those two TVs:
http://www.amazon.es/Samsung-UE40ES6710-UE40ES6710SXZG-TV/dp/B007H7292Q/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1356648500&sr=1-1

only the frequency is diffrent but the rest of the specs are the same!
as you maybe not thought the first one is in the list of supported TVs.
EDIT - Is there a possibility to force to use a resolution and also to force enable the panel?
EDIT 2 - And this examples can be played with the tv with AllShare Play (in 3D of course...): http://www.nvidia.in/object/3d-vision-3d-movies-in.html

I see now that they offer it in a 3D model as well. But as I posted before, you'll need to add it.
