Asus VG278HE weird screen effect
Hello, just got one of these monitors yesterday so still new with it, i upgraded from the Samsung 2233RZ 22" 3D monitor which i had no issues with (just wanted a bigger screen) but after playing around with the Asus one last night i noticed this weird effect. Whenever there is movement on the screen there appears to be "cross hatching" for example i loaded up Batman AC and moved the camera around batman and his face had this weird looking cross hatching effect (best way i can describe it) been looking on the web this morning and there is a lot of info about using lightboost to eliminate blur, is that what this is? Another example, i tried Dirt3 and i have the green road lines on, in 2D you can see the cross hatching/line effect quite clearly on the green lines, and in 3D i think its even more noticeable. I also noticed it when scrolling on websites past a picture. I have tried setting the refresh rate to 60/120/144 and it does seem better on the higher refresh rate so could this be some kind of timing issue? Has anyone else with this monitor noticed the same thing? Still trying to get the colour/brightness settings right, any suggestions? Cheers

Just now started finding stuff on the web relating to this and its a common thing by the looks of it, seems to be a case of you end up getting used to it and dont see it after a while so thanks anyway :) But if anyone has suggestions on the best colour/brightness settings for this screen i would appreciate it, just havent been able to get it right so far.

As a fellow user of this monitor, I must say that the color is quite dull. I haven't found any particular 'sweet setting' to make it good. As for your other issue, I'm really not sure. Other than color quality, the image has been nothing but improved since I upgraded.

Got the colour/brightness settings to my liking now but this cross hatching (also known as screen door effect) is very noticeable in 3D, not sure if it's just cause I'm sitting too close or something? (about 2 feet from the screen)

The hatching stuff happened to mine too before I got rid of it, didn't find a solution.
