Qharter inch vertical offset on Vizio E3D420VX
When I enable 3D resolution from the nvidia control panel I end up with about a quarter inch seperation between the left and right eye vertically, otherwise it seems to work fine. though this vertical seperasion puts a bit of extra strain on my eyes and makes any extended play near impossible to endure. it may be the result of a black bar between the top and bottom images that I can see if i put the tv in sbs mode instead of tb mode which nvidia seems to be using. I belive that this bar is making it so that my tv thinks its splitting the image in half but it is really split just a bit off half, giving me that verticly offset image. if this is the case it could easily be fixed with the ability to disable those black bars, or idealy if nvidia could support my tv in a driver release :). thanks -hailey

I also have this TV and tried to use nVidia 3DTV Play to play Just Cause 2 and Starcraft II. It doesn't appear to work. I didn't notice any difference playing these games in 3D. I think all it's doing is creating 2 copies of the same image so when you see it with 3D glasses you're just recreating the original 2D image. When you look at the 3D image without glasses the the 2 images are always the same distance apart.

I don't know much about 3D but when I look at a 3D TV show in 2D I can see a lot of variation in the spacing between things that are farther and closer from the focal point. When playing these games in 3D and looking at the image without glasses, the distance between the 2 images is always the same creating no real illusion of depth.

Hopefully this can be fixed with an update. These TV's just came out but with the price their selling at I'm sure they're going to be very popular.

Second, did you try pressing these keys while in 3D mode? Press CTRL-F3 to decrease the image seperation (3D depth) and press CTRL-F4 to increase the separation.

I did not try pressing those keys, but I did notice that the Stereoscopic 3D section in the NVIDIA Control Panel had the Depth slider disabled.

Yeah. The "Enable stereoscopic 3D" checkbox was enabled but the depth slider was disabled. However, when I enable stereoscopic 3d on my 2D monitor the depth slider is enabled.

BTW this is a passive 3D TV using the same tech as the movie theaters. It is being marketed as "Theater 3D" from Vizio and "Cinema 3D" from LG.

I also am getting black vertical bars on the sides of my screen when in 3D mode. It cuts off part of the view so for example, I can't see my Windows start button or the right side of the taskbar clock. It does this in 720p and 1080p 3D resolutions.

You DON'T want to enable top/bottom (over/under) mode on the TV. Nvidia 3D TV Play is not over/under. It is frame-packed (which technically is similar to over/under but not exactly). This uses HDMI 1.4, and should automatically enable when you play a 3D game (once you have the Nvidia driver setup correct). You shouldn't have to do anything. If that doesn't happen, its probably because your TV hasn't been added to the profile. Honestly, I am not even sure why a profile is necessary. A standard, should be a standard. But such is life.

I'm not sure if my HDMI cable is 1.3 or 1.4. It is made by Sony and said 3D-ready on it so I assumed it would do the trick. The NVIDIA Control Panel seems to recognize my display as "HDMI 1.4 Blu-Ray 3D" as you can see in the picture I uploaded. Does that confirm that the cable is HDMI 1.4?

BTW I forgot to mention that I'm using 2x GeForce GTX 260's (SLI) with driver version 270.51.

I'm also using the demo for nVidia 3DTV Play which will expire in about 5 or 6 more days.

I can tell be your control panel that you either havent purchased 3DTV Play software from us to enable 3D gaming on your TV, or its not working properly. Have you purchased the software?
