Really nice work on this.
The convergence presets are great, and I usually prefer UI at depth, but in this case because of the Hardware cursor, it makes things really awkward, to target the menus and stuff.
Just playing around with this a bit more, I find that the actual best way to get around this in actual gameplay is to use the preset with UI at screen depth then use convergence to align the cursor just above a characters head. Similar to how I would setup an action RPG like POE. You get really nice Toyification this way as well as making the UI much easier to use.
Is there a way to find the value of my adjustment and just set the F1 to use this preset instead? I would still like to use your settings for the other parts of the game.
*edit*
Nevermind I worked it out. Your F4 preset is actually pretty much perfect for general gameplay with the toyification I like. I simply modified the F4 key in the .ini to set Z=0 instead to force the UI to screen depth. Now I find it pretty much perfect and much easier to use the mouse for selection.

Yeah, the presets were absolutely necessary for this game. Tried to think up some better ways to achieve these results, but ultimately this was the best solution I could make. God how I wish auto-convergence was possible! ;)
Oh, and you reminded me that I forgot to mention I have a separate HUD adjustment key set up on the ] key, which allows you to cycle through 5 different HUD depths without changing the convergence. (I also have a HUD removal key on \, as per my usual practice)
Is there a way to find the value of my adjustment and just set the F1 to use this preset instead? I would still like to use your settings for the other parts of the game.
I see your happy with the F4 preset, but in case you want to pursue this further, or just good to know in general, the best way to achieve this is to go into the d3dx.ini file, and set hunting = 1, which will put the wrapper in development mode. This shows you your convergence value on the overlay on the bottom, which you can use to find values to your own presets in any game!
The HUD stuff gets a little bit trickier, obviously. In this game (and most others I suppose) I use the z parameter to adjust. If you take a look at the keys section of the d3dx.ini section you can probably grasp what I'm doing there to create a "combo" with a convergence and HUD adjustment preset, and adjust to suit your preference. If you have any further questions on how to do it, don't hesitate to ask!

Yeah, After I played with it I got it working well, but thanks for the Hunting mode tip. I wasn't aware of that.
I have found a map that has a broken river shader. Its pretty early mission in the game. Are you aware of this? I should be able to provide a save file, I tried messing with your recommended Graphics settings and the problem doesn't go away.

Sure, if you can provide a save, I'm willing to take a look.
Unfortunately this might be common. It's kinda hard to explain, but at first I was fixing all broken effects in the pixel shaders, because although normally you would fix halo causing effects in a vertex shader, I wasn't able to do so in the beginning due to not having the required matrices... but after a while DarkStarSword provided a new tool that enabled me to be able to fix these broken effects in the vertex shader, which I then started to do, but that started creating conflicts because vertex shader can output to several pixel shaders. So what would happen is I'd end up fixing a vertex shader for a new broken effect I'd come across, but I had already fixed one of that VS's other pixel shaders using the old method before, and then that previously fixed pixel shader would now be broken again as a result (because, it would effectively now be being fixed twice: once in the VS and once in the PS).
Hope that makes sense, but essentially tl;dr version is that you may find some broken effects in the early part of the game, and I would be most appreciative with you to help me with tracking them down. :) Thanks!

Perfect, thanks. I've updated the fix. It actually doesn't require any additional files for this one, so if you'd rather not have to redownload, you can just add the following to the d3dx.ini file after line 673 it will fix the issue (just scroll down until you see all the shaderoverrides, and then add this after the last one)

Yeah, I have accidentally done that a few times myself, but without consequence. If someone wants to switch to a different preset while in the Skyranger, best to just use one of the F1-F4 key toggles. Or if they are THAT concerned, then it's a fairly simple task to open the d3dx.ini file and edit that to a different key.

Great work DJ-RK, truly awesome fix.
Unfortunately I am having horrible performance issues and was wondering if anyone else has experienced performance problems.
I am getting serious fps drops down to single digits, when taking a shot using the action cam, also when explosions go off and any glass breaks or buildings are destroyed.
I know it's not the best, most optimised engine, but these major fps drops disappear when the 3dmigoto fix is uninstalled. When the fix is uninstalled I am still getting fps drops but only by about 5 - 10 fps, not the forty to fifty when the fix is being used.
Like I said awesome fix, wouldn't like to play without it.
Anyone else with this issue?

Crikey! I certainly wasn't experiencing anything that bad, at least not with my latest hardware (980Ti, which should be on par with your 1070). Explosions would cause pretty bad FPS drops for a second, but action cam was generally smooth. One thing I suspect is I think the game does a lot of heavy lifting on the CPU, so you might want to do a bit of an overclock on yours.
Also, I had followed this guide for some extra performance: http://steamcommunity.com/app/268500/guides/?browsefilter=trend&requiredtags[]=Modding%20or%20Configuration&requiredtags[]=english#scrollTop=0 Give it a try and see if it helps.
Also, I just checked and it looks like I didn't enabled cached shaders for this fix. Try opening the d3dx.ini file, and locating cache_shaders=0 and changing it to = 1. Might help with some performance too.
