How aggresive is nVidia in pushing 3D with developers?
This is mostly a question for Andrew, but anyone can feel free to chime in of course.
How aggressively is nVidia pushing developers to make their games 3d friendly? Is there any possibility of that becoming a requirement of the TWIMTBP program?
It seems that there would be a lot more sales of the 3d vision products after there is a significant perceived value increase in the form of 3d vision compatibility stickers being on the game boxes, or other such marketing and developer collaboration.
Resident Evil 5 is a start, but it is only one game.
I am not saying that every game should be made for 3d, but rather that there are simply no glaring anomalies or glitches as a part of the games being affiliated with TWIMTBP.

This isn't really answer to your question, but don't forget we can make an impact on this as well. I was checking out the Star Wars The Old Republic forums and posted a thread in their suggestion box suggesting they perfect 3d vision for their game. Never got a response directly from anyone working on the game but others on the forum saw it and liked the idea. This technology seems to have gone under the radar a little bit and if more people start to use it then the developers will answer back by fixing these small issues.

A few weeks back I sent Chet a mail about sorting out issues that plague L4D for the L4D2 releease. /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

push or not push - anyway stereo glasses are next step in gaming industry. so i believe monitors are only thing that still stops this technology from being fantastic popular. CRT monitors have annoying ghost effects and CRTs are too rare. and 3d vision ready LCD are too expensive and too sux for a while. after 120 HZ techology spreads over the world and every monitor has 120+ refresh rate - 3d glasses come to every gamer. it's true

Not sure if it was intentional or just happenstance, but Aion's flawless compatibility with 3dV has certainly gotten some attention. I see lots of people on the Aion boards touting the beauty of 3d Vision.
Anyway, yeah, I agree that it would be nice to see nvidia really push 3d compatibility with the game makers. At this point, for me stereo 3d compatibility is every bit as important as the graphics quality, client performance, or sound..... and any game that isn't stereo 3d compatible doesn't stand a chance of getting any play time no matter how good a game it is. I'd love to see nvidia & the major game manufacturers work together to make sure future releases are FULLY stereo compatible, and I'd fully support having that be a requirement for TWIMTBP logo. :)

You're exactly right. The only thing holding 3dV back from the masses right now is the cost of the monitor. It's still too high to be anything but a luxury item for the very hardcore and the well-off. Once the 120Hz LCD prices drop down out of orbit 3d Vision will make its way into every pc gaming setup.

Totally agree. After you play in 3D for a time you just can't back to 2d and 3D compatibily become essential.

You don't have to be well off to afford the monitor. I am not well off for sure, I am a full time student and my wife and I both work full time mostly to make ends meet. We get a surplus of funds around tax season and sometimes through school grants. PC gaming is my hobby though, and so it isn't hard to justify saving some money up for a 3d compatible monitor.
I'm sure costs will go down as 120hz becomes the new standard for PC monitors. /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
