Deus Ex Human Revolution

Anyways, this supposed to be an action RPG with hardcore fans,so I suppose it will be a lot better half year from now, once modders improve upon stuff. You see, it took TheWitcher2 this long... & Sometime I'll get to play DNF too ;´)
I'm in the process of testing a 3D monitor at the moment, and was disappointed to learn that the game will only support HD3D, which is AMD's 3D standard. With a rig that is designed to use NVIDIA's 3D Vision standard, the 3D was all but unusable. There is also full support for the multi-monitor Eyefinity technology, allowing you to stretch the image across up to five monitors.
I played the alpha and 3D worked, definitely many issues but nothing that seemed like it couldn't be cleaned up by a driver or something. However the above statement has me very worried...

I dont know trito. Witcher was produced w/ 3d vision in mind and was on box. Deus ex went out of its way to support AMD. We shall see.

I was actually going to upgrade videocards for this but if 3d isnt gonna work well I prob wont.

I am concerned about the poster above who made it sound as thought the 3D will be like Crysis 2's non 3D. I have seen movies and screenies of the updated Crysis 2 and it is not 3D despite the rating.

Reviews came out for this game and they are STELLAR!! We NEED 3D support for this game and FAST!!

I'm tempted to go out and buy an ENVY laptop by HP with an ATI3DHD setup just to play this game!! Nvidia needs to move FAST (and I don't mean at the speed they moved for Witcher 2)!!

FYI you can get this game, or many other new games, for 20% off from this website: http://www.greenmangaming.com/?gmgr=xucoqubo

use this coupon: 20SUM-MERSA-VINGS

So that gets you DX HR for $34 + $5 in store credit to use later. Pretty awesome. Whether this game looks good in 3D or not, it certainly looks like its worth a buy, so I figured Id post this info so you guys could get this deal.

Basically, if Nvidia don't sort their act out and ensure that these games FULLY support 3d, I will take my (considerable) business elsewhere to somebody who will. In this case, ATI are the other option.

I have never seen this sort of threat work with any company ever. If you were Sony you might be able to pull this off but one customer? And HOW do you expect them to do that? Pay Square/Enix? Threaten them? Oh, but you want it FAST so having them do it via coding isn't going to work. I guess it's time to start sacrificing goats then....

Doesn't work. There is an option to enable 'stereoscopic 3D' ... but it's grayed out. /argh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':argh:' />
If you boot it up with 3D vision on, it will render everything in one eye black. This sucks ... I want my 3D

If that is the how game reacts when trying to use 3D Vision then it is likely intentional. Since the developers are heavily involved with ATI on the 3d suppport they have probably crippled the game from 3d vision use (probably with an exchange of some monetary incentive). Hopefully someone will be able to hack the game to allow 3d vision use. I suspect that the game would actually render fine if 3d vision use could be activated. Considering the great number of games that work fine and at least work to some level with no official 3d support of any kind it is awfully suspicious that a game would not even allow you to use 3d vision at all.

That is terrible!

THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I DO NOT WANT DEVS ON BOARD WITH 3D!!!!

When they didnt care about 3D we could get our games working, now it is a PR war! This is bad news indeed.

Wonder what is the percentage of "Hd3d" users, or that interlaced bogus.

This is indeed very bad news.
To my knowledge Nvidia has never done such a despicable thing, deactivating stereo support for other stereo rendering solutions.
If this is true, Nvidia needs to quickly do 2 things:
1. Engineer driver to circumvent the lockout. (While they are at it, circumvent Crysis2's lame reprojection stereo)
2. Widely publish the fact that ATI has locked out a significant user base, despite ATI's suggestions of its open 3D standard.

Not sure this is an ATI s trap. My point is developpers have otpimised the game for ATIs graphic cards/drivers (it's not a secret). So 3D stereo is enabled only for users with ATI hardware/software IN A FIRST TIME.

A patch could easily fix it, and that's why Andrew told us to ask devs to support 3DVision. In fact, the bad news is this "Enabling 3D Stereo": seems like "fake 3D" or Crysis 2-like... /thumbsdown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
