Questions on upgrade to 3D Vision surround
I'm not sure about that Helifax. The immersion of VR in sim games can't be beaten, even if the actual VR resolution and picture quality is FAR from 3D surround, i concede that to you. It's not the same to be inside the game than looking at the limited size of one or multiple monitors due to the fact that you have a limited vertical size of screen that don't englobe all your view like VR do. Only a setup like The_Nephilim can be better. You can't have something as immersive than that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDn_dyc9jns&feature=youtu.be
While I haven't tried any Sims in VR (not a favourite of mine) I remember a few posters here saying exactly the same thing that resolution being sooo bad is actually counter-productive and it actually impedes you from seeing important things. Immersion might be there. But try this: - Set you 3D Monitor to lowest resolution in a SIM. - Then Set the 3D Monitor to 1080 or 1440 or your max resolution in a SIM. Compare and you will see exactly what I mean:) Resolution is just as important as immersion. Resolution is actually MORE important in VR than 3D Vision since you have those LCD panels strapped to your head.;)
helifax, what are some of the best 3d surround games?
Hmm... any game??? except 2D plaforms, they tend to add the least things to it. In general any 3rd or 1st person game.
