Is Bioshock 2 and Aliens vs. Pred 3 fixed now that they have profiles? via the new driver?

the squeaky wheel gets greased! show support for 3d AVP!!
I tried Bioshock 2 and it works fine but really lacks any real sense of 3d, it has almost no depth and no poput even though I maxed it as much as I can, it improves the experience over 2d but not that much, I hope the patch improves that.
On a side note, can anyone please tell me if I can fix Dead Space lights being on thr wrong depth, it's unplayable for me, also Dark Messiah looks awesome but I can't remove the crosshair, any help?

The fixes remaining from 2K may take more than simple patch work if they are having to work the fixes in based on some kind of change Epic made to the UE3 engine to support 3D Vision better. I don’t anything really these are just random thoughts.
I read that too at mtbs3d, and it makes some sense... They might be doing some 'core' coding for the engine to better handle s3d, in which case they would want to finish that base coding and subsequent 'knowledge' gained from it, before setting off on the bioshock 2 fix-it mission...
This could be good tho, because if they are improving their already great engine with inbuilt s3d, there may be more unreal engine games to come out as '3d ready' out of the box, and avoid issues like the bioshock2 debacle :)

How in the world did you get it to work? Maybe you're not running Windows 7. I know Microsoft says it is NOT COMPATIBLE with Windows 7 and I sure can't get it to run for more than about 8-10 sec before I get the dreaded "This program has stopped working ..." window. But looking around on forums, I see that some actually run it OK under Windows 7 with similar rig configs as mine. There has to be a key ...seems like a great game for 3D, yes.

Can I suggest you post your specs in your sig. Fallout 3 runs happily on my rig. Presummably you have tried all the obvious things... reinstall game, drivers, patches etc
We have to get this working for you because you will love Fallout 3!

Absolutely!
Then there is fair hope to get this running!
Initial and subsequent reinstall of Program gets through configs fine (set to 'high' per default). Intro and "New" game proceeds fine until actual gameplay, as a baby, begins. I can move about, do all the normal things, for about 8-10 seconds, then comes the "Program stopped running" message box.
Latest nVidia drivers. Applied the latest (1.7?) game patch, no change.
Min spec setups, set admin mode, set compatibility for Vista, then WinXP, put into window mode (just as a test) ...all these things individually and cumulatively where possible and it does not change the symptom in the slightest!
Darn - yes looks like a lot of fun. Hate to have to just settle for a 2D install on my XP boot side. Sure hope it isn't the dual-boot killings things but I'm not sure how the game can tell one way or another except through some kind of copy protection (game is retail package, not bootlegged). Would be tough to troubleshoot as I'm not willing to give up my XP partition!

Your system is similar to mine only yours is 32 bit. I dual boot too (I wish I hadnt now as I never use XP; I just didnt trust MS after the Vista debarkle).
Do you have any background programs running like nHance? Or have you changed any global settings in the nVidia control panel. Fallout broke just now, as did the Geoforms screensaver, but after a panic thinking it must be the newish drivers I noticed I had set a global setting in nHancer.
Have you Oblivion? Does that work? And the obvious question, have you ever had it running in windows 7 or has it stopped working since you have plugged in the 3D...?

I'm not using the nHance software and haven't knowingly changed anything in the nVidia control panel, but that'll be something to explore - in case some 'app' changed something ...you know how that goes!
This is a relatively fresh install of Windows 7 (maybe 4 weeks) and was made just to be able to implement 3D Vision, so there aren't too many apps installed. I did turn of real-time scanning in Microsoft Security Essentials, to no avail. Later I will scan my installed apps more closely and see if there's anything I forgot about or can just turn off.
This is my first install and attempt to run Fallout 3, as I've had it sitting around but not had a chance to actually play it. I do now have about a dozen games installed under Windows 7 that are running in 3D. All the typical stuff, I guess ...Tomb Raider Underworld, Prototype, Painkiller, Halo 2, MOH: Airborne, COD4, Just Cause 1, Kane & Lynch, Avatar, Dark Void, etc. But, no, Fallout 3 has never run successfully.
I saw that many folks had problems just installing it! But mine went well there - just can't keep it playing for more than 10 sec, lol.
lumpeh, I haven't tried a nocd crack but might be on the list of things to do, thanks!
P.S. to MODERATORS ...looks like I'm hijacking this thread - sorry - please move these recent posts to a new thread if you will.

Well, for the record, the Fallout 3 install finally works on this Windows 7 setup.
After all the apps and background services disabling ...and reinstalls ...to no avail, of all the freakin' weirdnesses I've seen over the years: it seems that Fallout 3 has some quirk about assigning keyboard mapping. In my case, I had assigned the "\" key to the function "Run." When I did this, I didn't notice that the GUI fed me back the character "/" instead. It also shows "/" when you choose "/" ...but something is screwed up in the code that interprets this. As long as I have the character "\" (as selected in the GUI, even though it displays "/") chosen to be mapped - it's crash, crash, crash, within 5 - 10 seconds of playing. Every time.
I've removed that keyboard assignment and am finally rambling around in Megaton, trying to find some ways to get cash ...

First, let me say I absolutely love Fallout 3. It’s one of my all time favorites. However, it may be, for me, the most frustratingly buggy game I have ever been able to finish.
My first play through was a long time ago on Windows Vista 64bit and it was just crash after crash after crash. I trouble shot the game so many different ways. Sometimes the crashes were random and sometimes they seemed to be tied to a specific place. This was particularly frustrating when it happened in a small building and the game would crash everytime I loaded up the save before I could exit the building. Eventually, I would get through though.
I found a lot of resources pointing at conflicts with audio codecs installed and what codecs the game preferred. Saw claims that installing ffdshow fixed the crashing tried it and no dice. Saw things talking about problems with OpenAL. Problems specific to x-fi soundcards. Problems related to .net framework. The list goes on and on, but the majority of the random crashes and fixes people found were related to sound.
Anyway, I finally finished the game and all the DLC and moved on to other games. Then, in January I reinstalled it, now running Windows 7 64 bit, because I had just gotten my 3D Vision setup going and wanted to replay it. Alas, I now couldn’t even launch the game. I would launch it and the computer literally did nothing. No frozen processes in the task manager no nothing. Tried installing the patch, but the patch said it couldn’t find the game. Deleted all of the game files and installed again and still nothing. Now, I have the steam version so what helped me won’t help you if you’re not using a steam copy of the game. For whatever reason deleting and installing the game again never worked, but verifying the integrity of the game cache through steam found problems and corrected them and now the game works.
Weird stuff, but basically I am getting at that this game has a lot of issues, but it is a great game. It was good enough that I fought through all the headaches so I could play it and it was well worth it.
Now I leave you with … “I’m Ol’ Gregg! A scaly man-fish!â€

I'm running on a Viewsonic 3D PJ too and I find it unplayable. Lighting is completely fubared. It's a much better experience w/out 3D due to this.

Lol! After the heck this software gave me getting it to run ...and, in my case, was all along likely nothing to do with Win7 at all even though Microsoft officially still claims it to be 'incompatible' with Windows 7, it'll be a cold day in Megaton before I try reinstalling and playing in Vista, or even - XP w/o 3D, just to see if the keyboard assignment glitch happens there, too!

Yah, interesting graphics in 3D. Reminds me a lot in style of the Stalker series. Do appreciate the open paths.

Sure hope it isn't the dual-boot killings things but I'm not sure how the game can tell one way or another except through some kind of copy protection (game is retail package, not bootlegged). Would be tough to troubleshoot as I'm not willing to give up my XP partition!

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Computers ...you gotta love 'em ...

I suggest you make your way to the mechanic chick next to the bar. She will have a series of quests for you to do that will span much of the wasteland and have you aquiring goodies n cash in no time.

That gal wouldn't happen to be Lucy? Hmmm ...she's in the bar. Seems like an odd personality and even others in the bar seem to think she's got some kind of problem ...I'll go check out her 'family' where she mentioned ...
Yah, interesting graphics in 3D. Reminds me a lot in style of the Stalker series. Do appreciate the open paths.
