Yes, SLI will be broken out-of-the-box, and there is still no certainty that the engine will actually allow 60 FPS in 3D, it may be like Wolfenstein etc. where the FPS cap equates to a 30 FPS 3D limit. We don't know how this game is going to run, Rockstar's assurances aside.
I've urged restraint solely from a moral, ethical perspective (Rockstar has not supported the PC community in the slightest and DOES NOT deserve a day one purchase at full-price) but there is also reason to wait based on the technical uncertainties.
Based on the non-existent optimization of GTA 4 I would not be surprised if this game runs like garbage, requiring day-one patches etc.
Oh and the "we were busy optimizing the game for PC for two years after the console launch" properly translated is: "we were building up hype, waiting for a significant segment of the console consumer-base to migrate to PC and waiting for a pause in the title release cycle to maximize sales"
Would you go and get some happy pills? All your recent negativity is making this forum a chore to read.
YES we all KNOW GTA 4 sucked, its really, REALLY old news.
Max Payne 3 on the other hand was great, so I'm more than willing to keep my doubts at bay until I actually get to play the game.

@vulcan78: And if they do in fact support 3D and 3D Surround directly, I suppose that we should still kick them in the teeth for their prior transgressions?
Sorry, but it's far, far more important to me to support devs that support 3D.
Nobody on this forum is a blind fan-boy for anything or any company. We also don't have mindless hate for any game or any company. It just doesn't matter.
You seem to keep confusing this forum with others where insults are the norm. Please rein it in.

MKX definitely needs more love. It looks so great. The animation has improved immensely, and its got some really slick looking new characters.
Go read the comments here, this isn't an isolated idea, many commenters actually state that although they already purchased the console version, now that they have a PC they are buying it again for the high-def, 60FPS, 3D Vision features.

You are severely overstating the number of people who have previously purchased, who are buying it again. Remember - this game has already shipped over 45 million copies. The number of additional sales they get through people double dipping is incredibly small. You may be reading people saying "I'm buying it again!" or even reading what seems like a LOT of people saying that, but it is in the grand scheme still an incredibly small number of people. You have to remember that the type of person who posts on a video game website is also the type of person who is really, really dedicated to video games - and the type of person who would have probably bought GTAV on PC anyway simply for mods, higher settings, or whatever else. The difference is that the PC version they would have bought then would have been vastly inferior to the one a consumer will get now.
