OK I have finally figured out what is causing it. The popmenu.js file will not load while I have set jumbo packets to 4088 bytes in my network adapter settings (which I have set to maximize throughput between my machines). It will load perfectly fine with the default value of 1514 bytes however. I have absolutely no idea why this is so. Haven't had anything else that didn't work with this jumbo packet setting...
