Went back to driver branch 425 and everything works well. Can someone confirm they can run any game with driver 430 and 3D vision installed from 3DM? thanks!

Some feedback on the new version: I dont have the usb device but use a zalman passive 3d monitor. With 3DFM 1.70 everything worked as it should, I could turn 3d on and off and apply fixes. The new (1.71) version had a pop up saying I could update the driver (as expected) and I let it do the updates (from 425.31 to 430.86). After the update had completed (and the system rebooted), I was missing the nvidia control panel from right clicking the desktop, and when opening it from the taskbar there was no stereoscopic 3d option. I ran 3DFM again and it pointed out that 3d vision wasn't installed and offered to install it. I accepted and after a short while received the error "Failed to install 3D controller driver". I reverted to 425.31 again and my nvidia control panel was back along with 3d settings, but 3DFM still insisted I didn't have 3d vision installed and refused to turn on the 3D setting. I tried to reinstall 3DFM 1.70, but the download link gave an "access denied" message (seems specific to that file as other older versions download fine) so I had to restore the folder from a backup (which now all works well again). Tl;dr it seems the 3d update workaround currently is for usb active 3d owners only and doesn't work for passive setups, the new way of testing for 3d also doesn't work for passive setups, and the ability to download 1.70 need fixing. PS I am using Windows 10 1809 with GTX 1080Ti.

Just tested and I can confirm the bug that this procedure does not work when you don't have the IR USB-pyramid plugged in. I had done some wrong assumptions here that the driver could be installed at any case. Unfortunately I forgot to test the case with the usb pyramid unplugged on my system. However the other thing that you didn't have a Nvidia Control Panel any more after installing the new driver is definitely an issue with your system. You would surely get the same issue if you downloaded and installed 430.86 manually from Nvidia website because 3DFM does the same... just automated. Anyway I'll try to bugfix the first issue still today. Btw just fixed the dead link on helixmod site.

I just did the required changes. Basically it was just removing the re-check if 3D Vision controller is installed which led to the error message. Now only the 3D Vision driver has to be installed in order be able to enable 3D. If you like to test it please download this version: http://fixmanager.rentus.de/downloads/fix_manager_1.71_fixed.zip Yeah, in your case you should use DDU and install the driver then either manually or with 3DFM. In any case 3DFM should install the 3D Vision driver for you if missing. The missing 3D Vision controller is ignored now. I'll release the bugfixed version later today. Will play around with that version a bit till then.

Hi, many thanks for the new version, here is what I tried: 1 uninstalled all things nvidia 2 ran DDU in safe mode and removed anything else nvidia 3 rebooted and reinstalled 425.31 (with "clean install" - probably overkill at this point) 4 ran the 1.71_fixed version of 3DFM The script ran as far as 'installing driver' and I followed the 430.86 installation. When the installation reached the first black screen flash, 3DFM crashed - although the nvidia install continued, and asked for a reboot once complete. After the reboot, the nvidia control panel was missing again (I will probably have to try with a clean install of 430.86). I re-ran 3DFM and clicked the 3d button. It didn't offer to update the 3d drivers but simply said "3d vision is not set up on your machine". I was offererd 2 options - a setup wizard or quick setup. Setup wizard popped up a tiny white box for about 1 second and closed and quick setup didnt seem to do anything. The 3D button remained off, and if I clicked on it again I was given the same two options.

Ok this attempt was a bit more involved: 1 uninstalled all things nvidia 2 ran DDU in safe mode and removed anything else nvidia - at some point I discovered that windows was trying to force install driver v388.13 in the background when no driver was present. I discovered the switch to turn this off in DDU 3 rebooted and clean installed 430.86. Rebooted again although it appeared this probably wasn't necessary. Nvidia control panel was now present 4 ran the 1.71_fixed version of 3DFM, this time I was offered an install of the 3d vision drivers which went smoothly. I then had the "3d vision is not set up on your machine" prompt, I selected the wizard and was offered a selection of devices none of which applied to my zalman setup, so I closed the wizard and ran the setup from nvidia control panel. 3DFM still showed the 3d switch as off (probably because I had turned it on elsewhere) but that was fixed by restarting 3DFM. So far now, it all seems to be working well. I'll try it with some games later to find out, hopefully if I update to 1903 at some point the issues with that fill be fixed. Many thanks for your help again. I'm guessing 3DFM crashing on the first attempt stopped the script in the wrong place and confused 3DFM after the reboot.

Hi Paul, Haven't tested new version yet but wanted to come and say with words that I'm impressed with your knowledge, your work and all the time invested in 3DFM. It's really appreciated. Can't say I'm proud of nvidia, a huge corporation but I'm proud of you, and all shader fixers too!

@thebox147: Ok I just figured out that not the install of the controller driver was broken. It's just the concept of how inf drivers are installed on Windows. By running pnputil the inf driver gets added to the Windows driver store first. And only if the USB pyramid is plugged in it's actually installed then. So I have to check if the driver is added to the Windows store instead of checking if it's actually installed. That would do the trick. I will try this now. Ok issue should be fixed now. Instead of checking if the 3D USB Controller driver was installed I check if it was added to the Windows driver store instead. Adding the driver to the windows store works even when the USB emitter is not plugged in. So 3DFM should work with passive 3D displays / 3DTV Play (everything without USB emitter) + latest drivers now. I re-release the app and push version number to 1.72 now.
