Preamble: I have had the Nvidia 3D Vision kit for a year. I live in the UK (50hz power supply) but I have been successfully running the 3D Kit without any room flicker at 120Hz - this is due how to the particular light-saving lightbulb I used in my room worked (Apparently it emits at 60Hz - I don't get the technical side, but this is how it is).
The problem: I have recently changed the type of bulb in my room to a much brighter bulb which started causing typical room flicker in my peripheral vision when using the 3D Vision kit - So I changed the 3D Kit to run at 100Hz and that fixed the room flicker happily.
However - I now get a strange new kind of flicker on my screen which only seems to affect lighter colours and shades. In dark areas of games I do not see this effect at all, but in lighter areas everything seems to 'wibble'. The area of the screen I am looking at directly always looks fine, but all the lighter colours on the screen in my peripheral vision consistently shake as if juddering left to right.
This effect can still be observed on screen when not wearing the 3D glasses. If I turn off the Stereoscopic 3D to play the game as normal in 2D then this effect disappears. This happens in all games I play - but only ever in 100Hz.
Does anybody have any ideas what may be causing this or, more importantly, how to fix it? Has anyone else seen this behaviour when running in 100Hz?

The 3dvision drivers were installed as part of the standard Nvidia gfx drivers for the 295 series. I am currently using the latest version (295.73) but this issue also happens with the previous WHQL drivers.
Do you mean I should try installing other versions of the standard gfx card drivers (perhaps the beta's), or are there other more specific sets of 3dvision drivers available?

It sounds like you already know what the problem is; the light in your room combined with the refresh rate. If the problem goes away when you turn off the light in your room then you know what the problem is.

I notice too that the screen flicks something more than when playing at 120hz (it is the con). I must play in a dark room to prevent the screen to flick a lot. After playing 2 minutes my mind practically forgets the flicks.
I suppose people with "nvidia 3dvision 2 + lasts monitors" do not have problems with dark images, so I suppose they will play at 120hz with no flicks. Maybe for you the best solution is to change the bulb.
