Yep, getting them to. Somewhere between once every hour to every third hour or something like that. Quite random, but can usually play for a couple of hours before it happens. Not really crashes, but the game just closes, and I have to restart it. I run in 3d vision surround with HaYDeN's Skyrim Ultra-Wide Fix to be able to use the menus with 3 screens, so i don't know if that has anything to do with it. Sound is set to 16bit 44Khz. I have also tried the Large Address Aware app that some have recommended for 64-bit win users, but it still CTD. Seems like quite a common problem if you look at other forums, not just for 3d vision users, or users with high end sound cards, but accross the board.
I get CTD every hour or so, usually right after quick-travel, while running completely vanilla in 3d mode. So its probably a bethesda thing :)

I thought depth and convergence were the same thing?

Depth changes how far ALL objects are away from each other.
Convergence moves the whole scene toward or away from you as if all objects where stuck together.

So, I hope I don't sound like some spamming, broken record but I cannot help it: This is the most impressive stereo 3d game I know of (better than Batman Arkham Asylum, better than Dragon Age: Origins, Two worlds 2 (with its unsual but nice out off screen 3d style), WoW, Avatar, Trine, "you name it"). Had the urge to write this big or with exclamation marks, but the subtle other-worldly beauty of this game would be rather spoiled by such foolishness.
I wonder how it makes the rest of you feel immersion wise - a stereo 3d snowstorm before flawless clouded mountians one can climb on top of and the knowledege of a breathing world full of small details like tiny herbs and large landsights like moutains ranges leaves me awestruck. The spell effects, the shadowplay, all the details of even objects on tables... dive in and never emerge again. I am taking a deep breath of air now and away I am...
Absolutely not, we need more voices out here shouting about what an incredible unparalleled experience 3d really is for gaming. The movie theaters have really pooped (for lack of a better word) all over the idea of the stereoscopic experience. With their shoddy conversions, weak (to the point of non-existent) depth, ghosty polarized light tech, the public backlash against 3d as a useless gimmick is totally understandable. The exceptionally crappy first batch of 3d-TV's didn't help much either. Our only hope for cultural acceptance at this point are Nintendo, Nvidia, and our voices. :)

Totally agree. No pun intended but Passive 3D is a passing fad. But stereoscopic is the real deal, bringing us one step closer to the holodeck. NVidia needs to set up more demo stations in Best Buys, Game Stops, etc. You simply have to see it to believe it.

People keep saying "i'd prefer holograms...", but i wonder how a hologram is going to make the Titanic appear as a large monstrosity next to you or make the bottom of a gorge appear really far down and your situation on the edge of a cliff feel dangerous.

Even with the 2D stealth counter and the dodgy skybox, the 3D already surpasses anything else I have seen, ie Batman, Just Cause 2 etc. This is quite frankly stupendous. I am gobsmacked.

Anyway, here are some tweaks from someone by the name of Densi
The SkyrimPrefs.ini is located in Documents\My Games\Skyrim. Make a backup as usual.
Interesting variables are as follows, in order of appearance in the .ini and showing their default settings.
bDoDepthOfField=1
bTreesReceiveShadows=0
bDrawLandShadows=0
bShowFloatingQuestMarkers=1
bShowQuestMarkers=1
bShowCompass=1
bMouseAcceleration=1
fAutosaveEveryXMins=15.0000
Comparison of bTreesReceiveShadows and bDrawLandShadows values
Guys I have a slight problem, when I set the convergence higher, I can see the the game being "created" on the right side of the screen. I don't know how to better explain it, but I can see the game being drawn. I will take a screenshot later and post it, but it is quite annoying and breaks immersion, and I'm wondering if anybody else is experiencing it.

Blimey!!! Just played the opening sequences, and the dungeon with the golden claw thingy. HOW AWESOME IS THE 3D?!???
Amazing! Incredible!
Even with the 2D stealth counter and the dodgy skybox, the 3D already surpasses anything else I have seen, ie Batman, Just Cause 2 etc. This is quite frankly stupendous. I am gobsmacked.
I must say... pretty tough to beat the 3D in Batman. The effect looks more amazing in Skyrim because of the perspective. Batman and Skyrim are ='ly amazing. Definatly the way to play videogames.
Now I just quietly wait for Virtual Reality in 3D. Nothing beats controlling the movement of the ingame camera with your head.

WTF?
Anyway, here are some tweaks from someone by the name of Densi
The SkyrimPrefs.ini is located in Documents\My Games\Skyrim. Make a backup as usual.
Interesting variables are as follows, in order of appearance in the .ini and showing their default settings.
bDoDepthOfField=1
bTreesReceiveShadows=0
bDrawLandShadows=0
bShowFloatingQuestMarkers=1
bShowQuestMarkers=1
bShowCompass=1
bMouseAcceleration=1
fAutosaveEveryXMins=15.0000
Comparison of bTreesReceiveShadows and bDrawLandShadows values
bTreesReceiveShadows=0

Obviously having TreesReceiveShadows on gives trees tons more depth.

Guys I have a slight problem, when I set the convergence higher, I can see the the game being "created" on the right side of the screen. I don't know how to better explain it, but I can see the game being drawn. I will take a screenshot later and post it, but it is quite annoying and breaks immersion, and I'm wondering if anybody else is experiencing it.

can you try hitting ctrl + F11 for the frustum cycle (whatever the heck that means) Its one of the advanced keyboard shortcuts
