Help active 120hz ...
Hi ... I just got my 3d system for 3d gaming... Am running win8 with i7 3930 and gtx 660ti and just got the big screen LG 55LA7400 So I would like to active 120hz on 3d with 1080p . I know somebody out there can get hack for the lg 3d working with the 3d vision play. Yup can someone help me out with this ... Thanks a lot...

All TVs currently only accept a 60Hz input, there is no hack to change this.

That is a passive TV. It only does 60hz input. The 240hz they talk about is picture interpolation. Not a true 240hz input. I have a passive 3dtv as well. Your only options are 1080p@24hz or 720p@60hz. What that guy did in the article is trick the drivers into rendering the image in interleaved mode, but ONLY because his tv supportes interleave. Yours does not according to the manual. http://www.pcrichard.com/images/manuals/47LA7400-manual.pdf (manual is for multiple models, yours included) Sorry, but 3dtv play is your best option for 3d gaming. but don't be disheartened. I use my 3dtv at 720p60hz for 3d gaming just fine. I can crank up antialiasing, and it looks nice and smooth. And, if you're still upset, for whatever reason, then ditch the tv, and get a true 120hz 3dvision monitor and 3d vision kit. I happen to have both worlds and enjoy both. Sometimes I haul my big ass gaming pc into my living room to play some 3d coop games on the TV with the wife and kiddos. 720p never bothered me.

It's a Passive 3D HDTV using a FPR over the panel, so any format input is converted to line-interleaved regardless. If sent a line interleaved format, it should simply display it with no need for post processing format conversion or the inherent lag associated with doing so. 1080p/720P is converted to 1080i/720i, you can not display a progressive signal in 3D due to the FPR technology being used, it requires an interlace signal to be displayed. So all progressive signals get converted as well as SBS or TnB formats. I've said it before, 3DTV Play not supporting these displays via their native line-interleaved format is bullshit. A good solution for these TVs used to be an AMD GPU with TriDef and it still might be the best solution. I got rid of mine before it could be unofficially supported via Optomized for GeForce.

However paired with TriDef, AMD Radeons work very well. Just like anything, it takes proper configuration to enjoy properly. The bad thing is the performance hit is heavier using TriDef even with a Radeon and is worse with an Nvidia GPU. A lot of people were using TriDef for their Checkerboard solutions as well as Rollermod, before Nvidia pulled their head out and included it in 3DTV Play. TriDef also supports SBS 1080P@30 per eye.
