SLI Support
I wish to bring attention to a topic I have just posted in the SLI section of these forums: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=4689

I'm looking to purchase a set of edimensional 3D glasses for my system (AMD 4000+, dual 6800GTs in SLI) as this is something I have dreamed about all my life and I've heard so many great things about 3D gaming and that it truly is the way of the future, plus there is that rumour that Nintendo is possibly including a VR headset on their Revolution console - a big punt but could pay off and maybe replace televisions / monitors as the focal viewing source of videogames.

I am genuinely excited about this, but I'm dismayed that my grunty-and-capable pc can not do 3D stereo gaming because of the lousy driver support. This is a travesty. I don't want to switch one of my video cards off just to use my 3D headset - I may as well tear out my 2nd 6800GT videocard and heave it down the toilet if this is the case.

I invested a lot of faith and money in Nvidia and their product by going SLI; the least they could do is repay that same faith and go all out to please the discerning gaming consumer. As it has been said before on other forums, 3D stereo gaming is a potential goldmine ready to explode and just by word-of-mouth alone it could easily become among the majority of consumers if only more support was lended to it.

Folks at Nvidia, PLEASE do something about this.

Also, the 3d stereo SLI drivers need to be compatible with Windows XP 64-bit so we can play Far Cry etc.. in other words, make it a *total* solution, not a partial one. Thanks. :)

Test results seem to show that the new 7800 GTX gives the same performance as a dual-SLI 6800 setup - so you could skip the SLI and go straight for the new card.

On the other hand, there are no stereo drivers for the 7800 either yet /thumbsdown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

EDIT: sorry re-read your post and noticed you already bought the SLI cards.. guess you'll just have to wait for nvidia to write some proper drivers. Its a shame - nvidia used to produce rock-steady products and drivers, but recent issues with SLI and 3D seem to point to a drop in product quality..
