I'm looking to buy a plasma tv. The ones im looking at are 600hz so well above 120hz. Will they be compatable with 3d vision?
Have a look at this link to the tv i want..

Typical 120Hz and 240Hz HDTV LCDs only accept 60Hz input, then process the input frames and double or quadruple the output to smooth out fast action. However, these displays are not 3D Vision capable since they cannot accept 120Hz input.
3D capable flat panel displays are typically well marked. If you have to figure out if the specs make it capable of 3D Vision, it probably isn't.

There is currently only one model that is worth purchasing for use with 3D Vision.
Samsung PN50B450 (this is the US model number, I'm positive there is a different model number for non-US). The best way to find out is going to samsung.com and downloading the manual and verifying that it has a 3D Sync Out Port.
It works great with movies, gaming requires some tweaking. Its 50" and runs 3D only at 1360x768.

The funny thing is that in Canada, PN50B450 runs at 1024x768 for some reason.

Yet the PN50B430 is 1360x768 here...but its 1024x768 in USA.
I think someone mixed up the boxes when they were shipping these over from Korea... :)
Otherwise yeah, PN50B450 and PN42B450 are only plasmas that have 3D sync out hence can work with 3D vision. I'm sure others could too if they had that plug but Samsung didn't bother with other models.

You are 6 months too early....
If you dont want to go the DLP or Projector route then you are going to have to wait until the spring/summer to get a flat panel plasma/lcd that supports 3D, and trust me, you'll want to wait.
Yes, the PN45/50B450 does 'support' 3d, but compaired to the samsung 2233 it is CRAP.
I'm all about large screens for gameing (306, PS3, wii)
3 years ago i bought a 720p lcd projector. 104 inches. amazed. ($2,000)
Then i saw the picture quality on the Samsung 650: 1080P, 120 hrtz etc. and had to have it($2,000)
So, less than a month ago i bought the 3d glasses with sammy 2233. Blown away, though, as mentioned above, im allabout big screens, 104 inches and 52 down to 22... wtf
So, i did my research, proved a few retail employees wrong, and purchased the only PN42B450 in my City (Regina), and from all places a Wal-mart.
So, i brought it home, faught will it for 4 hours, then at 2 in the moring gave up.
The next day i found out it was a driver issues, a bug if you will, and when i got home from work that day i had it all figure out and low and behold after 6 hours total i had it working!!!!
So after all this i get Res Evil 5 working (best 3d game i currently had loaded at the time)....
WOW- what a waitse of money, what a pos. No depth at all, serious ghosting, and just overall a BAD TV.. there is a reason what its the cheapest 'brand name' plasma on the market...
now, i would say purchase a dlp or projection, but, imho, with the sony ps3 going 3-d in the summer you know for sure sony will have a flatpanel (i believe LCD) that does hit the 1080p in 3d mode released this spring/summer...
IF memory serves me correct, the Bravia model will be their first production run with it included...

Thanks for the first hand impressions of Samsung PN42...
I own the samsung hl67a750 LED DLP and it works really well with the 3D glasses but I was rather curious about the PN plasma models... Was considering getting another one for my bedroom as they are really cheap now.
Yeah, I will see what happens in 2010. I am really curious how PS3 will do 3D...hopefully it won't be propriatery to Sony TVs.

This is simply not true and VERY misleading, I have the 2233, the PN50B450, and Viewsonic PJD6111
The Samsung Plasma has phenominal depth and popout when brightness/contrast/cell light and color adjustment in the nvidia control panel are tweaked.
I use the PN50 for my bedroom viewing, my 2233 for my office and Viewsonic in my theater
I'm pleased with all, as all have their ups and downs but I like my 50" plasma WAY better than my 22"

I also own the Samsung plasma and am very happy with it. Your missing depth is not a fault of the TV since it only can show what is delivered to it.
It has slight ghosting like I used to have with CRT + shutter, but just played through Avatar (looks phenomenal in 3D) and did not notice it at all.
The TV uses the checkerboard method, which results in some resolution loss (the native resolution for 3D is 1360x768) but has the benefit that it works perfect with the nVidia 3D vision system and also the iZ3D driver (using the DLP license + ELSA Revelator/eDimensional glasses).
So till full HD 3D HDTVs are available sometime next year this is a very good choice, and the current price is unbeatable.

I'd wait, thats what im now doing.
