Creating third party app to fix NVIDIA 3D vision, need help with registry.
I've decided to help NVIDIA by creating a 3rd party application that allows for different convergence & depth based upon different keypresses. You'll be able to save a profile for each game and load it before you play the game you want.

For example:

* When you right click or enter "aiming" the software will adjust the conv/depth optimally and turn on NVIDIA 3D Crosshair. (good for fps, 3rd person shooters)

* When you sheathe/unequip your weapon the game will then trigger new conv/depth settings. If the game allows the hud to be turned off you'll be able to add the hotkey to do so automatically. (good for all games)

* When you are in traveling mode (Dragon age for example) different conv/depth settings will kick in and different conv/depth will kick in when you are in combat mode. Then in cutscene mode maybe we can add a hotkey. I'll try to make the program universal.

Here is where I need the communities help. I need to know what registry values are responsible for:

1. setting convergence in registry along with an example and explanation of converting hex to text/string.

2. setting depth in registry along with an example and explanation of converting hex to text/string.

3. setting the transparency of the 3D crosshair along with an example and explanation of converting hex to text/string.

Once i figure out what registry values control depth, convergence & 3d crosshair transparency in real time I will then be able to make the program.

This is where I'm at so far but the hex values don't make any sense:

64bit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D

32bit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D

Thanks.

Update:

The following two links are very helpful and provide insight to the registry.

The user profiles only save the level of custom convergence, they do not record the level of depth.

And actually the idea of having profiles is to be able to switch between two or three types of settings during the game itself, not before you run it, for example one profile for the cutscenes and another for the gameplay.

We'll fix this. My program will allow you to have custom convergence AND DEPTH based upon different states of the game which are determined by your keypresses.

Yes, my program will take it further and complete it. When you right click to aim for example it will adjust the conv/depth automatically based upon your specification.

When you are in traveling mode it will either know based upon certain keypresses and adjust conv/depth automatically.

I'm not going to autodetect the EXE that is resident in memory. But the functionality you'll get will completely more than make up for it.

I still need someone who can help me with the registry. I could do it myself but it will take time. I'd rather get straight to work on the application.
