I just purchased NVIDIA 3D Vision. Here is a list of things I feel are important for the technology to move forward.
1) 3D Mouse Cursor that operates similar to the 3D crosshair. For example in Dragon Age the mouse cursor is 2D and that causes problems with high depth & conv. It's possible to remove the mouse cursor .cur images from Dragon Age so I could then turn on the NVIDIA 3D Mouse Cursor (if you made it). I am currently trying to learn DirectDraw to render a mouse cursor but I feel I don't have the experience.
2) Not only should NVIDIA record custom profile information for each game, but you should also allow us to save unique convergence & depth for each different FOV in the game. For example in Dragon Age the FOV and cameras change when you are in conversation mode and change again during traveling mode. It would be nice if NVIDIA changed the depth & conv automatically based upon changes in FOV.
3) Please let us define a ON hotkey and OFF hotkey for the NVIDIA crosshair, this way I can automate the use of the crosshair depending on which keys I press in game that are linked to macros in my G15 keyboard. Currently you allow us to toggle the crosshair on/off, in addition please provide the ON with its own hotkey & OFF with it's own hotkey.
4) Please allow us to disable the NOTIFICATION when turning the NVIDIA crosshair on or off. It breaks immersion to have big green text on the bottom that says "Sterescopic 3D laser on......".
5) Please provide an NVIDIA 3D Vision SDK that allows us to access an API that can give us the current FOV of a game, it's name, the current depth & convergence settings. Then allow me to programmtically change these settings from an application I can write in VB.NET & C#. An SDK will take the workload off of you guys and share it with the community.
I am very passionate about your 3D technology and would like to see it move forward.
On a side note, the prices of the 120hz monitors are coming down which is making 3D for PC gaming more affordable.

2., 3., 4., can be done easily by updating registry values. Im telling you for the third time, if you set 100% transparence on the crosshair it'll disappear and you wont get poop up.
Same with depth / convergence presets, its easy but noone did it yet.

You'll have to return it, then. We can't even get them to give us OpenGL support for modern games, never mind games from ten years ago.
There are LOTS of old games on the list that aren't supported by 3D Vision. They were supported by some older solution NVIDIA had before 3D Vision. And yeah, they need to update that list in a very bad way.
(Though I have to say I'm mystified why you would be so hung up on one retro game. The system DOES work very well for most games made in the past five years or so.)

I can't believe you are calling it a RETRO game.. It is less than 8 years old.... When I think Retro I think NES or SEGA era.....
KOTOR is my favorite PC game of all time... I love it and can't wait to play the OLD REPUBLIC MMORPG..... if that game supports 3d then I guess I can deal with 3d vision not supporting KOTOR...
But I haven't heard if it will or not.
KOTOR is one of the greatest games of all time.... I was so looking forward to playing it in 3d.... I am so sad right now....
Just don't call it retro.... It is many many years away from that....
Don't get me wrong. I love retro gaming... I am a NES collector after all....
IF anything. NVIDIA UPDATE YOUR FREAKING LIST!!! IT IS DECEPTIVE AND BASICALLY PLAIN OUT LIEING TO PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO BOUGHT YOUR PRODUCT FOR A SPECIFIC GAME AND CANT PLAY IT!!! I wish I had the time/money to sue you!!!! ---- But I will accept a new nvidia 580 card as compensation for spending so much money on a new monitor and 3d vision and not being able to play the game you said I could... Email me.. We will work out the details.... firestonex@hotmail.com
