Bioshock 3D Vision DX11

So Bo3b/Helifax, is this looking good in terms of you guys (and others) using it to fix other games once it's released?
From my perspective as an apprentice shader hacker, it looks to me like Chiri's tool will be at least as flexible as Helix's tool. Looking at the early documentation Chiri provided, the documentation is already nearly as good as Helix's, and with a couple of good example fixes I think it should be possible to figure out how to use it effectively.
I think thats a bit premature. Helix's tool is capable of fixing almost anything imo[dx9]. Theres rarely a situation where nothing cant be done. Tbh, helix pretty much did every major DX9 game since he started. I dont think any popular DX9 game hasnt been done [single player only]not to mention old titles. That's a pretty high compatibility rate to compare it to. Though this seems alot less time consuming. Time will tell. I guess the huge perk is alot of people know the language/whats going on. I think that turned off alot of people with dealing with DX9. I think everyone can agree it looks like a lot of work's being put into this though and well worth the endeavor but I really don't think such comparisons can be made. The results in the 2 out of 2 games has been very impressive. TBH, AC3 looked almost like Space Marine pre-patch and they have results similiar to what I got out of space marine without shaders. I didnt say anything but yea, it was pretty bad off. Getting to that WITHOUT shaders is VERY impressive. If your on the fence. The results are impressive and they are definitely putting in the time.

I've just tried the wrapper with Bioshock Infinite and Assassins Creed 3 yet and for each game, the compatibility had to be enhanced. I will try Crysis 3 and Hitman Absolution next and after a couple more games chances are high it will work out of the box for future games (I speak of the wrapper and not the shader hacks). Of course I'll continue to invest time in developing the wrapper as long as NVidia or the game companies don't do the job right. But to be fair, NVidias driver is a great foundation for basic auto-stereovision and I'm grateful for their work and the steady growing NVAPI. The changes I had to implement for Assassins Creed 3 for example was to protect data structures from simultaneous access because it uses a multithreaded renderer. Also the newest update of Bioshock Infinite introduced multithreaded resource loading, which is the reason 3dsolutiongaming is having a hard time making a video: It doesn't load all patched shaders because of the newly introduced multithreaded access. I'm currently busy fixing this problem. Additionally I'm moving manually made shader patches to generic algorithms which are applied to all loaded shaders. This way additional shaders from patches or DLCs are automatically fixed.

If you don't reach the goal, what happens then? I'm yet to donate (waiting for a paycheck), but will you consider starting a "rolling" campaign so you can get the money without needing to hit the target? I wouldn't expect you to do all this hard work for nothing though, so I hope the target is reached. Also, Crysis 3 uses it's own internal renderer for 3d, extrapolating data from the Z-buffer. If this wrapper can force it to use "real" 3d rendering by some magic that would be great, but I'm not sure that's going to be possible.

Maybe someone can start another topic focused on this DX11 wrapper - to promote it and this all funding process. I tink that some people who might be interested are skipping this one because we mixing informations right here. This was all about Bioshock Infinity. Someone might dont care about this one at all.

The title and OP can be edited to reflect that. :) I really have to check out the screenshots, unfortunately I don't have either game so I won't know just how bad it originally looked. Unless they're comparison shots, or someone else has some 'befores'.

I am trying not to get too worked up about this but I like potential. The thought that Witcher 3:Wild Hunt might be a 3D masterpiece with this tool is exciting.

It's hard spreading the word too when most forums frown upon it, even steam's terms states "Soliciting, begging, auctioning, selling, advertising, referrals racism, discrimination". And most 'mainstream' gaming websites/blogs have already taken the stance that 3D is just a gimmick and that they hate it because they watched My Little Pony in 3D once. Lol. :) Personally I'm just anxiously waiting for SG to get a video up of the first level completely fixed, undeniable proof, and then I'm sending emails to any and every gaming site/blog that I can think of. :)

The screenshots of Witcher 3 I've seen make it look like more or less the same engine as last time (which is fine by me, since Witcher 2 looked sensational)

DX11[possibly 9 as well but not said yet], Tessellation, physx, Fur physics[Don't ask] It would be nice if they kept 3D support even for 9 if nothing major is changed. The only feature that seems DX11 is tesselation from what they talked about but its still too early. Of course its gonna come down to how much nvidia will pay for 3D imo. Though if it doesnt support 3D I'm worried about the mouse. It was software in witcher 2 but there was a lot of complaints which may lead to a 2D mouse[hardware].

Hi guys This thread made my day. I was holding to play the game because the lack of proper 3d support. I will be donating for sure. I spread the word as well at overclockers.co.uk forum as there are a few passionate 3d gamers over there. I can not wait!

Agree best news ever as I was thinking the same as you, holding off for a way to play in 3d. Or to be total frank, dont play it at all if 3d aint possible. Cant seem to play almost any games these days in 2d as 3d have really spoiled me so 2d gaming feels so terrible, flat and lifeless (shrugs) Thanks to people like those guys Helix, eqzitara and the list goes on we can play most games in 3d so I feel very greatful to those guys, the are all heroes in my book :)
