Green info/rating text not appearing anymore & thus....no 3D?
  1 / 2
Usually there is some green info/rating text in the lower right corner that appears when 3dvision is active. Now I have 2 games that don't show this message anymore (The Last Remnant & Overlord 2) and when there is no green text there is also no 3D. The Philips 3D TV still states that 3d is active when I start those games, but there is no 3D and no green text and ctrl F3/F4 & ctrl T doesn't work. The first time I started Overlord 2 the green text was there and the 3D worked, but now.....nothing. While the 3D TV still says: 3d is active every time. If I then start Trine 2, everything is fine and dandy, green text and a great 3D game. Overlord 2 in 3D did work the first time I started it, and I didn't change anything between then and when I started it a second time, which was a few moments later having switched of the shadows in the launch setup menu. So....what gives. The games are bought from gamersgate and then activated on steam. I have windows 8 on a 17" RMBPro.

Ctrl-Alt-Insert turns the message on and off. Try that. Pressing the button on the emitter turns 3d on and off as well. Have you gone into the advanced settings of control panel and enabled convergence adjustment (ctrl F5-F6)? Does that work? If you are not actually getting 3D when you were before changing shadows, that's strange. Did you restart the game fully? Did you reboot? Did you double check that you had full depth i.e. hold down Ctrl-F4 until the green bar goes all the way across. Trine 2 I think has its own rendering engine so bypasses that. Are you using 3DTVPlay? Do you have a 3D monitor as well to check this out? What driver version do you have, what graphics card? For when it works again (because it will...) - there is also a fix for Overlord 2 that fixes shadows, water, and a few other bits so you don't need to turn them off: http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/04/overlord-2.html Also, video here: http://www.3dsolutiongaming.com/2013/04/overlord-2/
RMBPro.
As in Red Mac Book Pro? How were you getting 3D to begin with? 3D Vision Kit (emitter), 3DTV Play (software), or a Hack? Did you double check that it's still enabled in the control panel?

The retina macbook pro doesn't have "insert" so I changed that to "ctrl alt Z" The problem is that the green text doesn't appear at all on these games like it does on Trine 2, whether I press "ctrl alt Z" or not. I have 3D tv play and a 3d TV The graphics card is Nvidia GT 650M I also downloaded the helixmode fixes but I can't see the difference when the 3d doesn't work anymore.

Yeah, the HeliX Mod fixes won't work if 3D isn't working, it could be drivers. What version are you running? Is Stereoscopic 3D enabled in the control panel? Maybe try a clean reinstall of drivers? Reseating your hdmi cable?
Why did it appear the first time but not anymore?
I don't think any of us know to be honest. If you've done a clean install of drivers, rebooted, ensured that 3D vision is active in the ctrl-panel, ensured that in that panel it is identifying your TV for 3dtvplay, and the depth is set to 100%, then it is not something any of us has come across. I would suggest you try a few more games and if it happens with all of them, then get onto Nvidia tech support or the Driver Forum (NOT this Forum, Nvidia never come in here, it's just us community users).

Id personally remove all nvidia drivers from control panel[remove/add software]. And find a different driver and do a clean install. Its almost certainly driver related and 3d vision is known for "bad installs." Only other thing I can think of is game is not in fullscreen mode. Other thing is reinstalling 3D TV Play. Trine is actually not using 3D tv play. Its using a renderer of its own. But the other games are using 3d tv play. So it may be something happened to 3d tv play.

Delete the Temp folders as well ( C:\NVIDIA\ ) sometimes they're to blame even during a 'clean' install.

Are you using Paralles with a virtual copy of Windows 8 in your Mac Book Pro to run 3D or are you using Windows 8 installed in a separate partition? I didn't know the Macbook retina display were capable of 120hz? I thought all Macs were still 60hz only? Anyway, does 3D only works with Windows 7/8 or also Mac OS X? Really curious about that since I also have a Mac, but it's a Mac Book Air 2011 model. I intend to buy a new Mac Book Pro retina display next year but I never imagine I could use it for 3D Vision, not in my sweet dreams, since Apple doesn't give a flying crap about 3D and has never even mentioned anything about 3D movies or games.

Makes sense, never heard of any Mac capable of 120hz or 3D... Steve Jobs or the new Apple CEO shares the same love for 3D as it has for Flash.

Now Overlord 2 crashes when I press alt And TLR gives a black screen + sound after loading a game So I can't even play this in 2d Is there something wrong with the 320.18 driver?

There is always something wrong with a driver. You should get in the habit of reading the driver notes PDF for known issues and "not" Nvidia issues. Before even bothering with that, it's always a good idea to read the driver feedback thread and user threads. Be subjective, some issues are caused by users hardware/software and not the driver. https://forums.geforce.com/default/board/33/geforce-drivers/
