Daniel,
QUAD SLI and 3D vision work great in Directx10 for the GTX 295's. It's only in DX9 where the performance takes about an 80 - 90% performance hit. I suspect it's a profile problem. For those DX9 titles, I just force dual gpu rendering or single gpu rendering whichever is better without having to disable QUAD SLI. Works well, it's a band-aid until they get it right.
How do you know the 256 drivers won't fix the 3D Vision + 3-way/4-way performance? They're supposed to add SLI improvements and extra options. I guess we'll know in a few days, but I really do feel the 197 drivers do not exploit the full capabilities of the GTX 480's and there's more goodies (improvements) around the corner... and I'm not just talking about 3DVS.
i dont know- but i sure hope they do. Ill throw another 480 in the mix. But they dont work for me on my system now.

Just saw this thread, I have pretty much the same setup as you with a ACER 1080p monitor and I get same type of frames in Metro2033. I find that anytime I go outside in the start of the game my frames drop from like 60 to 20-25 and then go back to about 30-45 with the same settings as you. I'll do a run like you have from the start of the game to when he gets snatched and let you know the FPS>

Just tested Batman on the new drivers Danny, they seem good so far, I wouldn't go as far as to say I can vouch for them [don't want to end up in trouble ;)], but there's no problems here at the moment :).

I have posted a new thread to compare settings. I have used Heaven 2.1 and Batman AA as a reference! Danny I will get back to you with my findings on Metro 2033

Hey Daniel, I have posted a few benches in my last post (in the thread) if you could add to that that would be great.
On top of that I did some extensive benches of metro 2033 since I want to start playing this game.
In the opening chapter (from start of the game, where you climb the ladder until you get snatched by the flying demon):
With all settings on max but set to DX10 and AAA I got:
Min 15, Max 61 Avg 38.5 (time elapsed 306717 ms)
With all settings max but Set to DX11 and ADOF off and AAA I got:
Min 15, Max 61, Avg 36, time elapsed from was 294231 ms (for reference)
Not that big of a difference, but it's been told theres not much different from DX 10 and 11. But those are my frames. I had about +/- 5-10 frames with my 3-way SLI GTX 280's. I have a feeling that this game is just not that optimzed 3D or 2D. Just like the Stalker games.

I wonder if new drivers will pull more frames out of our setups. Thanks for the input. ill post some benchmarks in your thread as soon as i have some spare time. Very cool!

I wonder if new drivers will pull more frames out of our setups. Thanks for the input. ill post some benchmarks in your thread as soon as i have some spare time. Very cool!
