Point of information: youll have to go to 9x or 16x DSR for 1:1 pixel ratio. 8x pixel mapping will be 2.9x * 2.9x pixel mapping will will give you worse result than 4x.
4x DSR = 2x vert * 2x horizontal resolution
9x DSR = 3x vert * 3x horizontal resolution
16x DSR = 4x vert * 4x horizontal resolution
There was a post somewhere showing how to do it, try google.

Good point - still for older games it should be okay , doing DSR from 720p to 1440p (4x) for now. I did but I can't seem to find much. Will keep searching though.

Exact multiples are always better. So 9xDSR (3840x2160) is your next step. But I wouldn't go above 1440p for demanding games. 1440p can be very demanding, nevermind 2160p.

Gonna give it a trie this evening for laughs and seeing how fps goes down :)
allways playing at least 1440P native !
In demanding games 1440P, I disable ingame AA and use 2X AA in NVidia CP, for older games I go up to 9X DSR with 25-30 % smoothness and completely disables AA !
In oldies it's very hard to notice any difference, if it's an exact multiplier or not !

Thanks for suggesting this, however I've already tried this tool and it doesn't seem to work for me. I'm using a custom CRU bin that enables my projector to be detected as a 720p projector in order to get 720p DSR to work on 1080p projector. Also it does't work without any modifications as well.

Thanks for suggesting this, however I've already tried this tool and it doesn't seem to work for me. I'm using a custom CRU bin that enables my projector to be detected as a 720p projector in order to get 720p DSR to work on 1080p projector. Also it does't work without any modifications as well.

Iam was trying doing exactly the same (benq1070)
Figured out needed more testing , I did got exactly the same problem that it did not work after applying custom CRU
Will do some more testing in te evening

When you do get it working, I'm sure you know that optimal result will be at 720p x3 or 1080p x2 = 2160p (i.e. 9X DSR) for perfect 1:1 pixel mapping. This is probably why you want to enable 9x DSR huh... it making sense now.
Generally also, Smoothness/blurring is only supposed to be used when utilising non 1:1 pixel mapping DSR factors, which are garbage and ought to be ignored.
At proper 1:1 pixel mapping, make sure you have smoothness/blur set to 0%! Anything higher and it will be doing you a disservice! :)

Yeah, I use CRU to enable 800p on my 720p native projector, and can DSR up to 4x 1600p just fine.
Have you tried ignoring the bin file altogether and simply manually inserting the values?
Here are my values and settings as reference:

I've tried but I'm limited to 3D Vision Discover.
BTW, as I see it, your main issue is going to be the fact that 720p DSR will be upscaled to 1080p, so there can never be 1:1 pixel mapping, only 1:1.5.

Exact multiples are always better. So 9xDSR (3840x2160) is your next step. But I wouldn't go above 1440p for demanding games. 1440p can be very demanding, nevermind 2160p.
