Prototype 2 - looking gorgeous now! The 3D Messiah did it again
Could not believe my eyes when I checked 3D vision live a couple of minutes ago and found some fresh Prototype 2 pictures - now looking gorgeous in 3D. Instantly smelling His Majesty's work I checked Helix page and there it was.....Prototype 2 now fixed!

All hail master Helix! At least, now that 3d support is growing thin, it's great we can get old games working in 3d! It's been a great week with Bioshock and now P2

Yesterday i try the helix 3D vision fix....and WOW!!! now the game looks amazing....this game have broken shadows everywhere and now its perfect. i increase convergence to main character and the 3D its great!! To people playing this game: Has anyone noticed that some textures (a few) in the background sometimes load a little slow... i dont have performance problems.

the main issue I have is the framerate drops, it makes the game look pretty stuttery which is a real shame.

Wow, wasn't this game only just posted about what a complete mess it is? Good to know I've got one more 3D game on my steam back-catalogue to play. Woop.

Yep, it works perfectly now. Great work, but we might have to wait until next generation cards are out to get acceptable frame-rates... I expect only gtx690 sli could only just provide the grunt.

Its not video card related. I lowered my resolution and no increase in performance.

Was browsing the Steam discussions and saw a thread about a lag/stuttering fix and it's working for me. Yes I still play this old problematic game time to time, one of my all time favourites and it's relaxing. :) Very similar to GTA IV mod fix, it reduces lag/stuttering greatly, not completely and also increases fps generally. Hope it works for you too: Create a text file named "commandline" in game's directory and add these lines in it: -norestrictions -nomemrestrict -percentvidmem 100 -availablevidmem 18.0 -refreshrate 60 BTW, Tridef works better with this game for me. If you have it installed, try.

Thanks for the commandline suggestion, lacuna. Your change definitely improves user control response on my setup(overall fps rate does not change much). For 4K display, I had to use "resolution=3840x2160@60" as a Steam Launch option (without quotes). TriDef fps performance is a little better, BUT TriDef profile has some 3D rendering/aritfact problems (for example, street lighting at night). Helix' 3D Vision mod looks superb, in comparison - it is really too bad he is no longer participating in this community...
