ATT ANDREW- TRI SLI 480= FAIL IN 3D VISION
  5 / 8
Hi Manual, only when 3d vision is enabled. Also it's only when running in 3-way SLI. With dx9 titles I'm getting avg 20fps even when in game menus. It's definately a bug with the drivers. Dx 10 titles seem to work ok however there is no performance increase going from 2x 480's to 3x 480's- I have benchmarked with both and it spat out the exact same result. I monitored the gpu usage also; with regular sli gpu usage was hovering around 80%, with 3-way SLI it's hovers around 48% on all 3 gpus. Now without 3d enabled tri Ali scaling seems to be pretty good.

Manual Im very keen to get this bug ironed out so if you need me to test anything please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the update. I will file a bug with our software team but first I will need the obligatory system specs:

1) Are the Geforce GTX 280 cards running at reference speeds?
2) Which power supply are you using?
3) System memory amount installed?
4) I assume you are using Win7 x64
5) Which motherboard make and model?

As soon as I get this info from you, I will file a bug.
Damn, now see there? Your posting would've been along much more fruitful lines if you'd made the straight comparison and let it lie.

But as long as you center it around your own personal timelines and pepper it with insults and "zings" it gets tossed along with all of the other "hate mail".

Boy, but I'd sure hate to have to invite quite a few of you to anything at all resembling a "social function". I can see you all just pissin' and moanin' 'cause the entertainment's not to your liking, or the dancing bears appeared before the dancing naked ladies...

...if you didn't come through the door bitchin' about being there in the first place 'cause there are other things you could be doing...
It's not an hate mail... Sorry to see that you can only see it in that way. I actually have allot of nvidia stuff, but i do like to see some things changed. Bitching is my right as an paying customer, so deal with it.

Also i cannot understand your OK with this. So you like allot of promises without real follow through? You like to pay for features that are broken? Or do you just like to respond to people that are complaining? Do you actually have Tri or Quid SLI? If not what the hell are you doing here?

Your response seems a bit weird, have fun dancing with the bears though ;)

I remember telling you not to get 3 !!! I bought 2 myself and kept one GTX 280 as a physx card.

3-way SLI will not be optimized for 3D Vision.

Sorry !

How is this a bug?? Nvidia still hasnt realsed a proper driver with TRI or Quad SLI support. were still at "beta" stage which for me no games had any scaling from SLI to 3-way SLI with my GTX 280's.

Its not worth having 3 GTX 480's for 3D Vision. I'll say it if you guys @ Nvidia cant!

mate you obviously don't know what your talking about. If nvidia want to promote 3d vision surround then they better get tri/quad sli working with 3d vision. Cause the truth is only 3-way SLI 480's will be able to give you the beat experience and PERFORMANCE that 3d vision surround will require. Sli 480s will not run 3d surround gaming with eye candy on at a steady 60fps.

So to summarise my point; TRI/QUAD SLI support is immperative if nvidia wants to sell 3d vision surround and maximize there sales!!!!!!!!

And btw I ordered another 2 aw2310's today, they"ll be arriving in the next week.

I think his point is you're insisting on a fix to a feature that's very clearly in Beta support stage in anticipation of the kind of performance you think will be needed for a multi-monitor gaming solution that hasn't even been released yet. And I'd agree with him. Its a Beta feature. Stomping your foot and fussing over it isn't going to do any good, you do realize you're probably one of a few hundred people, at most that are running 3-way SLI 480's and maybe only one of a few that actually care about 3D Vision right? So now that you've ordered 2 more AW2310 that will sit there idle, doing nothing for the next few months until they released the 256 series for 3D Vision surround, are you going to stomp your foot each week too until you get an answer? Just wait until they officially launch the feature, then complain/file bugs, don't do so beforehand especially when support is clearly indicated as Beta.

Incase this is the first post you have ever read, the 3d vision COMMUNITY has been stomping there feet for months and months now about support for tri/quad sli. Just take a stroll through the forum and im sure you will find more posts then you can read about this. So yes i do understand that it is in beta support, however a fix has been long overdue....

I also might add sometimes fussing and stomping your feet is the only way that things ever get prioritised. Anyway, i dont expect you to share the same frustration given you obviously are not a tri or quad sli user.

And as for the 256 drivers, they are slated for an april release (source via nvidia.com)!!!

No its not the first post I read here, from what I've read most others realize it is a BETA feature that impacts much fewer users probably on an exponential scale from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 card users. So obviously based on distribution, you are getting prioritized last, which is probably why its once again...a Beta feature. If you bought Tri or Quad SLI thinking you would have seamless 3D Vision support you clearly expected too much, reading a few posts here would have gotten the point across clearly due to all the problems and foot stomping since January.

And no I don't use Tri or Quad SLI because I'm well aware its support in 3D Vision is currently shoddy at best, so I wouldn't waste money on a 3rd or 4th card until that solution was resolved, that's why I only bothered getting 2x480's instead of a 3rd. :)

Oh and 256 drivers are probably delayed to May, Nvidia had hoped for April, but then again, I'm sure they hoped for Oct/Nov for Fermi release too. Sometimes stomping feet just doesn't matter. ;)

Civility towards other human beings has no boundaries. You can settle issues like this more rapidly, perhaps, by bringing numbers to bear, yes - but take a hint from guys like Ghandi and King when you do. They're more fondly thought of in History than that dude Che.

I have almost 300 pages of posts. Dig all the way back to #1, the point I first introduced myself to the Forum with a problem, and contrast it to what you see posted on a regular basis these days on the Forums.

I dare you.

I guess some of us would just like a little Humanity - and humility - to come back eventually...
