helixmod game list not loading (solved)
  1 / 2
Whenever I click on game list it stays on "loading..." forever, tried with several computers and broswers so it doesn't look like it's on my side.

The Game List is not loading for me as well. I tried on Google Chrome, Explorer, and Firefox. I went to the link provided by D-Man11. Sorry but I don't see how that link can help me to get the Helixmod Game List to load. I'm sure i'm missing something but i'm not a programmer and my computer skills are fairly basic. If someone could explain to me how to get the Game List on the Helixmod site to download it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help.

That link means search the forums............... There's no reason for a redundant thread, the discussion should be continued in the appropriate thread. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1031179/helixmod-blog-screwed-up-solved-the-site-is-ok-again-/?offset=6#5257367 It would make it easier, for those that can help with the matter.

I don't see why you would use the old thread. The symptoms are different there plus the title says its solved. The site itself says to send an email so, now that we've confirmed its everyone, I would just do that. He'll get to it when he can.

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. Instead of altering their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views ... which can be very uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.

Oh seriously, again? @Google - what did you do!?! This time it's the initial request to get the total number of posts on the blog that's failing - that one shouldn't be timing sensitive or anything, so this indicates there is a more fundamental problem. We're nowhere near our quota limit of 10,000 queries / day (we're about 1000 queries/day), so it's not that. I've sent feedback through the API console, but this is Google we're talking about - they don't respond to feedback period. Hopefully this is also affecting someone who works in Google, because that's the only way they ever fix anything (seriously, never host anything mission critical with Google, just don't).

Playing around in the API explorer, it seems that the problem is specific to the "blogger.blogs.get" API I use to retrieve the number of posts on the blog for the progress indicator. "blogger.posts.list" still seems to work, so I can rework the game list (again) to cope with failing to retrieve the number of posts.

As always, thanks for looking at this DSS. It's a shame that things outside of your control, keep borking it.

New version of the game list is live - if the "blogger.blogs.get" API fails it will display the progress as "0/???" instead, but should continue to actually load the game list now.

Looks like Google fixed the problem - the API console shows blogger.blog.get errors dropped to 0 a few hours ago and the game list has started showing the total number of posts again: They of course still haven't fixed the problem with the blogger.posts.list API, so we still are relying on the automatic retry to cope with that.
