I hope you guys contact the makers of your favorite games to ask them to make a VR patch for it. I tweeted at Starbreeze studios for Chronicles of Riddick: Butcher Bay/Dark Athena and am trying to figure out the best way to contact 4A games for Metro 2033/Last Light. Supposedly the "4A Games" logo was spotted on a slide from a Oculus press conference, so thats a good sign, but i bet many other games makers just need a spark to get going on that. It would after all get some sales.
I wonder if the Helix patches could actually help these devs identify areas to fix?!?
Should i mention that to Starbreeze and 4A do you think?
Is it worth someone creating thread about that on the Oculus forum and reddit pages?

Helifax they haven't sold out. The article was wrong.
They updated it to reflect that.
You might still be able to get one if you so wish.
I know dice have a VR team, so that gives me high hopes for battlefield 5 which is supposed to be set in world war 1 era this time, so it looks like a few developers are on board already.
Eqzitara, The portal demo to test performance has a few valve Easter eggs in it. Nothing solid though, as per usual.

I personally am getting both the Vive and the Rift. I have ordered both and I have no plans on cancelling any (Unless something life changing happens). At this point I am looking forward more to the Rift than the 5 though, partially because I have followed the Rift since its conception, partially because I expect it to be a slight bit better when it comes to the FOV and the screen resolution. I will have to try hard not get get the PSVR also.
I've spent 800 bucks each on the Samsung HMZ-T1 and the ST1080 HMD in the past. So a 600 and 800 HMD doesn't seem that expensive to me.
Unlike others I guess I am more interested in what we can do with the tech than what games are currently available. My hope is that enough of both get sold to spur developers to invest a little more into VR.

Hopefully A LOOOOOT MORE they did with 3D Vision or AMD 3D. And by A LOT I really mean a LOT!
1-2 games a year is BOLLOCKS! Developers need to make at least 50% of their games with VR in mind, if not 75% !!!
I really pray and wish for this! But somehow, I am afraid... This is the reason 3D Vision did kick off (as much as it did), because Nvidia promised 3D Vision Automatic will make older games render in 3D! And it did! There are lots of old dx8/9 games that work almost flawless (don't put the HUD being screen-depth into account, but the actual game without the UI).
Unless devs suddenly start to invest time and effort in VR and make at least 50% of the releases VR compatible, I can't see how this will pick-up (and this is from the commercial side of view)!
I really wish they do though! Really really really...
So far I see fancy and BIG potential hardware, but... we are all software consumers MORE than hardware so...
VR has huge applicability outside of gaming though....and there I bet it will be picked up much more! But hopefully entertainment industry will do that too... AND PLEASE NO FREAKING VR MOVIES OR CRAP LIKE THAT!!!! It was 3D Movies that fucked up the stereo3D displays and possibility... Clash of Titans anyone???

VR is going nowhere. The porn industry itself will single handedly (pun intended) keep it alive!
There was a program on the BBC where an investigator reporter went around trying various VR experiences out.
The table 'aid' contraption was particularly disturbing! :D
This video by the way is one of the things that made me knew I had to get the vive as soon as possible.
Watching someone try the demos out for the first time.

I agree, but you could argue that no one has yet seen a 3D movie, not with the 3D we have seen.
Well I ordered my Vive finally, at minute 6:00 according to my pre-order e-mail, so hopefully I'm nearly a month away from getting it :)
I'm surprised about people calling room vr a gimmick and so on, even more here. I'm completely blown away by the possibility of WALKING inside a virtual simulation like being there. I had a DK2 for months but never left my chair. That's why even a simple mini-golf game has me excited yo just move around like i was there. That's the kind of thing that took my interest for games in the first place. I play games to be transported to another world, room vr is clearly the next step for that until we get a real locomotion solution.
People are really comparing room vr with kinect, seriously? Comparing jumping in front a TV to being completely surrounded by a simulation you can walk around and explore? It really sounds like a joke.
Oculus is surrounded by "ifs", regarding room vr, controllers, support, tracking volume, cameras, cables, market segmentation, etc. since Oculus confirms nothing and everything is behind a NDA. Vive is room VR day 1, no questions. That's why I'm going for Vive.
Also I don't like the shady practices of Oculus and Facebook regarding exclusives, walled garden stores and Facebook owning VR, no thanks.
Besides it looks like we'll get Vorpx support on Vive early on, so there will be a few hundred games to check out until we get full VR games for it. https://www.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/48asz0/vorpx_set_to_come_to_vive/
Also I'm surprised that there're a lot of games coming in April for Vive, mostly low tier indie games, but we won't get bored anytime soon: http://store.steampowered.com/search/#vrsupport=101
For example check the latest trailer of A chair in a room: Greenwater for Vive with room vr, it looks fantastic! :

I admit saying this somewhat ignorant, but to me, the mouse and the movements keys have become and i think it might be best if it were kept as an abstraction for most people, such that we don't even think about moving forward, where the brain doesn't even think about the fact that you are pressing a button to move, it just focuses on the fact that you ARE moving. I do look forward to using it for exercise though. I'd like to play Battlefield for my exercise...
I tried the Samsung Gear VR at Bestbuy and i can say that i am every excited for VR.

I think the game trailers look better when you see the player in the shot too.
It gives it more of a sense of scale.
Like audio shield looks crap when you see the screen shots, but when you see it like this.....
