Good Day.
over the last two days I have been plagued with issues with my 3d vision setup. I first noticed it in Need for Speed Undercover when i basically ended up with a Frozen screen double imaged and my emitter shuts off, the audio then cycels over and over. ctrl+alt+delete doesn't work and I'm forced to hard reboot the system.
I was using the drivers from 1.23 on a Windows 7 64bit OS with 2 GTX 285s their temps never exceed 90 degrees celcius
Power supply is a Corsair 750W. 8 gigs of ram on a AMD Phenom 9850.
I tried the 1.20 drivers and the same thing happens. I even swapped my system into a bigger case and the same thing happens. It's happening with almost every game I play now, however it doesn't happen at the same point each time (meaning after playing for the same ammoutn of time). In some cases i can go a while and nothing happens in other cases it happens within 2 mins of starting the game.
I reinstalled the Operating system and I'm having the same issue. I have not tried it minus the 3d vision as yet, will do so this evening. I know it may be a bad video card now (if it is I guess my PC gaming life is coming to an end).

Yes i have exactly the same issues, which i have manged to solve whilst learning about overclocking. /pirate.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':pirate:' />
Although is it only when your in 3d when this happens? if thats the case it could be some other problem.
For me i would get the random freezes with recuring audio randomly whislt i did anything like playing a game or browsing the internet although it was resonably rare and certain games made it much more likely... bad company 2 for example.
Anyways...... For me what seems to have fixed it is going into the bios and manual setting the voltages for the cpu, north + south bridge and the ram as i lernt that sometimes the motherboard can under or overvolt the compents... mine was overvolting /teehee.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':teehee:' /> .
Ive had this issue for a long long time now my self so im glad ive got to the bottom of it. Hopefully this might work for you ;)

I'll take a look at that when i gewt in. I'l ldo a reset on my bios to default to see if that helps or not.. maybe recheck my cabling even once more.

Let me know if you get any artifacts or reboots. I just sent my card in which has been just fine for over a year. I got a feeling the new driver may be causing fan issues again. I am sure I will be flamed for saying this but every component on my computer is fine. Less thana week of the new driver and poof my graphics card is down. I was reading in the driver forums people are having similar probs. I racked my brain thinking it was my fault, but aft diagnosing my computer, that is the only thing left that I can come up with.
Not trying to cause trouble, just awareness

Im having the same problem guys since playing in 3D and updating to these newer drivers. My system is a Dell XPS so changing voltages etc is a no go unless i use N-Tune which is unstable IMO. It's bugging me now though because I really getting into this ne 3D gaming.
I initially thought it was my system tempreatures but all seem fine whilst gaming, my CPU cores are around 60 degrees whilst on full load and my GPU's around 60-65 degrees. If anybody resolves there isues with this i would appreciate it if you share your findings.

Im not sure what a dell xps is but regardless of that you cannot enter the bios at boot up?
And msm903 dont just set them to "default" as what im stating is that the "default" or "auto" settings can be wrong by being to high or low.
Just google around for the standerd voltages for the compents and set them manualy.
I actualy managed to lower the voltages from this auto setting to there actual standerd setting which in turn reduced heat whilst retaining the stablity and speed.. /pirate.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':pirate:' />
And just to add..... hopefully this will work for you but im not %100 sure if it is related... although it dose seem that way... it might not fix your problem. + be carefull not to get these settings wrong and make sure you know how to clear cmos. /thumbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Yeah I got what you said, but this is only a recent issue, so I'll try default again, and maybe even try going back to an earlier bios. just to get everything clarified.
I wish I had a monitoring tool I could use to logg everything so i can see the state of the machine when it actually freezes

I've found out my problems through games freezing. My problem boils down to when I enable SLI I notice graphical spikes on BFBC2 load up screen, as soon as i disable SLI it's gone and theres no more freezing issues and crashing in games. Only problem now is that cant use SLI and I have to run 3d vision with only one GPU so my FPS takes the hit.
I was wondering if i should download he older version of PhysX 8.09.04 so I can enable the Ageia card to run physX whilst in game. Anybody reackon this would be benificial? It should in theory take some preasure of my GPU.

I'll just upgrade my entire system in about a year or so. hopefully by then most of these issues are resolved.

I am pretty sure I am having a similar problem, I have not fixed it yet though, as I am pretty sure it is the motherboard dying after years of overclocking abuse lol. I say this because 2 USB ports (first one, then a few months later another one) have died, and they were the ones on the back of the motherboard. If I plug the IR emitter to those USB ports, the light stays red, once I move it to another port, it works fine. I guess I could change the voltages back to stock, but I don't really want to, as I would rather just get a P55 and an i5-750, along with a GTX 480 :)
Then I'll send the mobo back to EVGA to get fixed.

Not everytime your PC freezes it means there's something wrong with Bios configuration, voltages or overclocking stuff. Sometimes games can crash the system, it's rare, usually a game stops working and you can Crtl + ALt + Del and your system remains stable, that's the common thing, It sucks when it freezes with sound loop, cause you have to restart PC.
If several games are crashing/hard locking than most likely your system is unstable, but 1 out of 10, I guess it might be the game.
The last time I had issues such as hard locks in a game was a long time ago when I had some bad ram in my system and it was causing games to crash. It's been a year that my PC is perfectly stable and yesterday I had two freezes playing Just Cause 2 that made me restart my PC after almost a year without similar issues.
I played Metro 2033 and I had few issues, but it was regular issues that the game has stopped working and I could force quit and system remained stable. Bad Compay 2 ran perfectly without any issues, Batman, RE5, NFS Shift, Avatar, and many other games I've played with 3D Visiom worked like a charm.
I still don't know what caused Just Cause 2 to freeze, It might the version I was using, I reinstalled the game today to see if it helps, lets see how it's gonna be now. I hope I don't run into freezes anymore that forces me to restart my PC. I hate that. But I'm sure it's something related to the game itself not my machine at all. I've played over 10 games during a year with the same overclocking settings, all perfectly stable, so my problem is not bad oc settings.
I read that some games have problem with SLI and 3D Vision, I hope it's not the case with Just Cause 2 as this is one of the most GPU demanding horsepower games and I can't run it well with high settings and 3D vision enabled with just 1 GTX 280. 2 GTX 280 in SLI gives me 30 fps average already which is very low for this game and AA is off, all the rest I have maximized, SSAO is off ( I don't know what's that for??).
I also ran into some weird problems with Just Cause 2, sometimes the full screen mode would become window mode for no reason and that's a bitch.
Also, Sometimes while playing the game with 3D vision enabled, the game screen would disappear, but the game would stay on, you can hear it's sound. I would try to bring the screen back hitting the game's icon in the taskbar but I would get a black window, but the game did not stop working, so I had to force quit and start the game again. Its weird, that's all I can say.
It's the only game that is giving me a headache with 3D Vision. I don't play in 2D so I don't know if its just related to 3D or SLI either???

over the last two days I have been plagued with issues with my 3d vision setup.
Has anyone else seen anything similar.

For me what seems to have fixed it is going into the bios and manual setting the voltages for the cpu, north + south bridge and the ram as i lernt that sometimes the motherboard can under or overvolt the compents... mine was overvolting
Ive had this issue for a long long time now my self so im glad ive got to the bottom of it. Hopefully this might work for you ;)

Although is it only when your in 3d when this happens? if thats the case it could be some other problem.
For me i would get the random freezes with recuring audio randomly whislt i did anything like playing a game or browsing the internet although it was resonably rare and certain games made it much more likely... bad company 2 for example.

I'll take a look at that when i gewt in. I'l ldo a reset on my bios to default to see if that helps or not.. maybe recheck my cabling even once more.

Not trying to cause trouble, just awareness
over the last two days I have been plagued with issues with my 3d vision setup.
Has anyone else seen anything similar. [/b]

And just to add..... hopefully this will work for you but im not %100 sure if it is related... although it dose seem that way... it might not fix your problem. + be carefull not to get these settings wrong and make sure you know how to clear cmos.

Then I'll send the mobo back to EVGA to get fixed.

Any thoughts???
