displayports, quadro cards 4000, 5000, 6000, s3d material
hello,
this is the first time i've posted here;
i post over in the adobe PPRO and AE forums
however, i am stumped and the web can't provide specific enough answers:
i use windows 7 64 bit, 24gb ddr3 ram, i7-930 2.8ghz processor
and a QUADRO 4000 gpu
i am in the process of getting an s3d workflow using adobe CS5
it seems like the future of s3d material is going back to displaying each eye
through it's own 'port' leaving me confused about why nvidia would install 2 displayports
and only 1 duallink dvi on their high end gpus like the QUADRO 4000, 5000, 6000...
next, i researched how to turn the displayports into ways of being able to display s3d material
yet the active displayport to dvi adapters state that they DO NOT support s3d material...
i understand that displayport is going to replace vga, hdmi, and dvi connectors,
yet the current displayport spec doesn't support s3d which means a user has to continue to use dual link dvi
it seems like nvidia handicapped the above mentioned gpu cards
shouldn't they have made each card with 2 dvi connectors and 1 displayport...
so any advice, suggestions, leads would be appreciated...
