Ok, so apparently Nvidia is releasing new WIRED 3D shutter glasses with 3D Vision in late June. They will be cheaper at only $99.

Hmmm...could this be the solution some of us are looking for? :)
Hmm, more importantly.. Will you still need the emitter to enable true 3d Vision mode, or will newcomers be able to just buy these glasses(120hz monitor of course), plug in, and enjoy 3d vision without the need to buy the whole "kit"?
If that would be the case, I'd buy a few pair, another 120hz monitor, and hook my kids's pc up! /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

The wire is on the wrong side of the glasses for me or I might entertain buying a pair of these.

Me too, but the wire is 10ft long. That's enough to loop it once around my neck and still have enough slack to get a loop of wire out into the hallway! That should make gameplay much more exciting!! /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
Really, though, I do like this idea. I wonder if they will have inputs near each ear?

1 thing is I dont think you can have bother wireless and wired enabled at same time. 2 different options when enabling 3d vision. It would be cool if you could disconnect the glasses when not in use to store but I doubt it.

I do like the $99 part but that wire would drive me nuts. Forget your straped to your pc and go to the fridge for another beer, watching a movie, sitting back and the dog flys past chasing the cat.
Worst case senario i know, i just hate wires plus, how would you sleeve it?

Step backward in my opinion as well. I have Sony glasses and haven't replaced the battery yet and have played through Metro 2033, BBC2 and tons of multiplayer, I don't even know how old the batter was in them when i got them... They seem to last a long time.
If i were making 3D glasses, i'd make them totally transparent so your vision was mostly uninterrupted, except for the front. I can see my fingers wiggling at ruffly 178 degrees, thats a lot of vision to block.

Personally drilled a hole in the wall behind me, thats where my computer is, a wall apart, behind me. So this would be cool for me, only it has no eye tracking, look nvidia, this is no serious stuff let me tell you what is serious:
1. MEMS shutter element instead of LC shutter element, or some other thin film shuttering element
2. Eye tracking must be very cheap too
3. Demo that Kepler chip running Digital Waveguide Mesh simulation ( ambience, 'space simulation'
cause current stereo audio stuff isn't serious either.

Why would anyone get these when you can get (for a tiny bit more) the wireless ones and emitter? The high cost of entry to 3D isn't in the glasses, but in the monitor. They also even come with a cable to wire them in to charge, doesn't stop you playing with them while they are charging, same thing isn't it? Other than it is still using the emitter. And the battery lasts epic long times, i'm a hardcore gamer, I have 2 pairs of glasses, and I have only had to charge 1 of them 1 time since I got them, I don't work (illness) and I play games almost all day, granted they aren't always 3D, but I do have some really long sessions with 3D games. I've completed Metro, Fable, Dawn of War twice in 3D, progressed a lot on the witcher, and a lot more, and all on only 1 charge between 2 pairs lol.
The only thing I can see these being useful for - Shop display models. Where you can have it wired in and locked down and unstealable =P

The whole world is already transitioning to wireless and NV is going backward ??
Price wise, I just recently picked up another brand new pair of NV glasses (wireless of course) from who else, Amazon for $96, shipped to my door.

they are already integrating eye tracking sensors into transparent lenses, can you beleive that?
The future is now dude, you might see eye tracking integrated into some garbage before you even notice it, well I would want to see it used here.

Not only we want proper glasses, but

nVidia should also buy some cool new quantum computer , and find some optimum values for our eye tracking stuff.
