Last time I tried Steam chat it sucked, but that was years ago.
Dolby Axon and Razer Comms are great crystal clear chat clients, plus they are free. So you might consider them. Razer comms has a somewhat invasive game scanner that can be annoying, just remove that portion from the files once you install it, if it bothers you. It really bugged me because it would wake my sleeping drives that I use for Media Center recording.

I made a quick video showing the fix into action:
- It was recorded on my Alienware M17x with one GTX880M GPU (and obviously one screen)
- It was recorded using nVidia ShadowPlay to minimize the loss in FPS (using Fraps was very intensive giving low FPS since the CPU is already being used a lot by the game).
- It was recorded using the V6 version of Fix.
- Drivers: GeForce 344.75.
You can see it here: 3D Surround Gallery.
(PS you will need Firefox v.31, other versions broke the nvidia 3D Vision plugin -> download link on the site. You can also save the video to your PC -> Right Click -> Save Video).
Hope you enjoy it:)

How is one text chat more crystal clear than another. I was only talking about 1on1 chat conversations and taking into the fact most people have a steam account it would be easy to setup. Chatrooms for more people are doable but less friendly to setup.
For voice skype is usually good enough for most use.

I have not tried either Dolby Axon or Razer Comms as that requires someone else using it.

I havent been playing as much as you guys. I started with what patch 9. Then some update to game and then you had patch 11 lol.
For ME patch 11 .. the game crashes so much more then 9 did. You know traveling it just quits so many times. Loading a game SOMETIMES will quit. But it does crash WITH this patch. NO patch ..never crashes.
Its just text and I dont say this stuff lightly because this must not be easy fixing all this, again thanks so much for working on these games guys..

Have you noticed the same behaviour with both 3Dmigoto and Flugan wrapper?
From what I read in your post the patch 4 of the game made the game more unstable when using wrappers. It sounds like there is some investigating work to be done. If you don't feel like it then fine as it's your machine and you'll be doing most of the testing. In the end you can always play in 2D :)

I agree with Flugan, there has been almost no change between v9 and v11 except to fix a couple of extra decal and fog shaders - the wrapper itself, and the other dependencies, are the same. I have written on the blog the chnage history:
**UPDATE 1/28/15 to v11
- Fixed extra SLI White Fog issues
**UPDATE 1/27/15 to v10
- Updated FWS after v1.04 patch
- Fixed Moon+Stars depth
- Fixed night time water reflections
- Fixed extra decals
- Fixed SLI White Fog for Ultra Settings
**UPDATE 1/20/15 to v9
- Updated FWS after v1.03 patch
**UPDATE 1/15 to v8
- Fixed issue with rendering metal surfaces
So v9 did not change anything at all from v8 except to update the FWS part, and between v9 and v11 only a few shaders were fixed or added. I can't see how that would cause catastrophic crashing. Between v8 and v11 the GAME has been patched TWICE. Since we released the first fix the Nvidia drivers have been updated as well. This "environment" (game + drivers + wrappers + shaders) is a real moving target that's hard to keep up with.
Flugan explains in some detail above his wrapper versions that work best with DAI, and I had success with the (what was called) v1 version.
Can I suggest that you uninstall the fix (using the uninstall.bat) and go back to v9. If you suddenly see stability again then go back to v11 and verify that instability definitley occurs. That will tell me that something is definitely wrong with v11 and I can diff the two to see what it might be. However, I am running v11 with few issues. I *have* noticed more issues since v1.04 of the game came out, so I have to save the game more while playing, but otherwise I can play for extended periods.

If the problems only exist in 3D the problem must occur within 3D only rendering.
The bug can be in 3D Vision itself and occur without a wrapper or fix.
It can also depend on only the wrapper without any fix.
One culpit might be that the stereoManager has to be created before the device and with multiple devices that can become tricky if a device is created outside wrapper control.
The disabling of the whole fix is hard to explain but easy to spot if you have UI at depth especially watching the loading in the lower right corner and hoping it will stay at depth.
My best bet is that something is off in the stereoManager which causes problem with the stereo texture.
The problems must have a reason. I ran into some weird device handling in Shadoow of Mordor.
Devices were already created the first time I saw them. One of the reason 1.2.1 might be good for DAI but I have not tested yet as I just thought of it. A quick test confirms it loaded without breaking.
Regarding CTD they are either from the game, 3D Vision, the wrapper or the fix. I'm not sure the fix applies but we are replacing lots of shaders so there can be reprecursions.

Remember this game has a tendency to crash for simply having 3d vision checked on in the NVcontrol panel, without actually having it enabled in game or using any fix.
I get the odd crash I just live with. My main problem was due to absolutely no consistency in the fix kicking in correctly. Which I resolved in the end.
I wouldn't be so quick too jumping to blame the version of the fix or the wrapper when the game is unstable regardless...

Blame the fix!!! He is the culprit !! Not the Windows updates, not the game engine itself, not the 3D Vision driver....no no no..those are flawless....THE FIX is the culprit !!!! ^_^
Mate, like we said it before use those steps described on page 60-61 for Flugan Wrapper. If those don't work you need to experiment and find what works for you...
Just DON'T EXPECT the game to run flawless!!! You will still get crashes here and there.. WE ALL DO !!!

Hey Folks! Hope all are well. :'D
Forgive me for not doing my homework but i am having some issues with Flawless Widescreen since 1/25.
I'm not running your awesome fix at this time, cant stand playing DAI in 3D Vision on a 24" monitor anymore so i'm gonna get the Asus 27" ROG Swift monitor in Feb. Until then it's 2D across 3 screens...
I still need to use the sweet FWS plugin though. Funny thing is, now the game crashes if i have FWS running beforehand. I have to start FWS after i load my last save game to prevent CTD! Does anyone know if this is related to the recent E/A or Bioware update 3? Not a huge deal but it kinda sucks as i used to have FWS startup with Windows, now i have to manually start it every time... Any thoughts?
