No it isn't Those glasses are ancient and e-d are outright lying in their advertizing. It's not true that every lcd's works with the glasses either (most do not actually). There are only support for the e-d's if you're using old-school nvidia drivers (winxp, up to 7900 card) and a decent dlp-projector or crt.
I once started using e-d glasses (10 years ago or so) and they worked insanely good at the time. The support now is as close as nonexistent.
It's amazing they still advertize those glasses with such poor support and still haven't corrected the statement about lcd-monitors...

The quality of the e-d glasses is fine and probably par on the nvidiaglasses. You simply cannot use them since they don't work with anything newer.

I'm not familiar with how the acer performs but since it's on the nvidia requirement list i think you'd be fine. It's an lcd though.

For those who use the zalman i've only heard good things. The interleaved image (half res) doesn't seem to disturb in 3d and it's guaranteed flickerfree. The viewing angle is quite narrow and there is definitely a "hotspot" where you need to be for a good experience. The zalman also works for a lot of stereodrivers/players (iz3d, tridef but don't know if nvidia still supports zalman). Even the old school drivers support the zalman.
