I just ordered an HP Pavillion DV7, Ivy Bridge with i7-3720QM, GT650/2GB DDR, 1920x1080 screen.
(It doesn't have the 3D option like the HP Envy.)
If I purchase the USB shutter glasses, will they work on the laptop screen?
I'm just not clear on what is required to get 3D to work with these glasses. Since they don't hook through the emitter box, is there anything else that is needed to get 3D using the USB glasses?

If the laptop does not have a 3D compatible display, the USB 3D Vision glasses will not work with it. The wired glasses still require a supported 3D Display on the laptop as well.

Is the 3D display something that is explicitly licensed through Nvidia?
What is the possibility that a new laptop would be compatible if it was not advertised to be 3D compatible?
