It only has it for 2D content. If you install AnyDVD in your system, the 3D Conversion will work on your system.[/quote]
i don't know if thats true. I use this with my 73" mitsubishi, which does not have hdmi 1.4 My tv was made in 2008. I would agree that the 3d effect does not have the pop out i thought it would. There are a few clips in movies that you know are suppose to pop out but instead it's just blurry.

If the original media isn't 3d you will NOT have a great experience with "on-the-fly" conversion which powerdvd's algoritm is!
It would be really nice if 2d-movies could be played in 3d but so far no algorithms is up to it. Even manually made conversions have their flaws but usually looks better. I hope they won't stop developing in this area though. Someday someone might find the little golden nugget which will make conversions enjoyable. But as is today we're far from it.

The issue with the Viewsonic 22inch monitor is not that it doesn't show "pop." If you don't use AnyDVD all you get is a screen full of static, like you would see in the NTSC days whenever you tuned to a channel that did not exist. You still hear the sound, but the video is all static. With AnyDVD it works as it should. As was pointed out, this is only an issue with HDCP content. Home movies authored that do not have HDCP work correctly even without AnyDVD. It has nothing to do with HDMI 1.4, but rather if your set has the HDCP enabled at the 120Hz frequency. It appears that the Viewsonic Monitor only does HDCP at 60 Hz, thus commercial DVD's when played in 2D at 60hz have no issues. But when you switch the display to 120hz, the HDCP flag is gone and thus PowerDVD refuses to display the content, but rather only gives you the "snow."

I have not tried it with a BD3D disk. My BD drive is on the way. The only tested way until now was the 3d conversion function of PowerDVD. In 3 days I will be able to verify b33's findings. Curiously enough, the viewsonic is not listed as one of the supported monitors for BD 3d?

more than happy to take a photo of the bluray working on the screen if no one else can get it to work, i had some issues at first but cinema mode fixed them
