Need some help, new to 3D.
Hey guys:) Okay, so I got kinda mixed feelings with 3D. When it really works, it looks truly amazing, words cannot describe it.

Though, that`s the catch. I barely get it working at all. Ghosting is so rampantly on almost every game, so it ruins the experience a lot.

For example, some 3D ready games have locked convergence, for me that means the game is not even necessary to even try in 3D. Unless I have minimum depth, the game will have ghosting. And no, Im not talking about top screen ghosting either, it`s the whole screen. Mafia 2 looks horrible in 3D, there is so much ghosting it really kills the experience. I can live with some, but ghosting in every way I see is not really optimal, and I doubt everybody else is playing with this much, because what is fun with that /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />

The screen I bought is BenQ XL2410T and im running this with 480 in SLI. I even tried that program where you mess with the colors, can`t remember the name but it didn`t help much at all.

For me, I always have to set the images next to each other sort of with depth and convergence. So it may work in gameplay sometimes, but when a cutscene comes it get`s out of focus and looks retarded at times. There is never that perfect option it seems. There is some games that work pretty good, like Batman AA and Metro 2033(there is some, but it`s not a gamebreaker at all so I can live with that).

Tried several games, and I basically know what to expect. Yeah, and Resident Evil 5 is like a bad joke, I mean how is it possible to play at all without convergence in that game lol, it`s so much ghosting it looks like I haven`t even enabled the glasses.

Now im not exaggerating, but I can try to tell you how it looks.(don`t know how to take 3D pictures /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />) For example Mafia 2 get`s ghosting around the character, buildings, light poles and several small objects on the screen. And reading around most people think Mafia 2 looks amazing in 3D and so on. I can`t believe they would say the same with me if they saw how it looks for me. Don`t really feel like I explained it so good, but anyway, is it like this for everybody else with 3D monitors? I feel kinda cheated, because I bought this system for 3D gaming, and BenQ XL2410T was supposed to be the best 3D screen out yet. Now is this the problem actually? That the screen is basically to bad for 3D? Read in this forum that you can get 3D projectors and so on that is free of 3D. If the screen is the issue, then I guess I got duped :(

Anyone that have any solutions that helped yourself with ghosting? Really would help if I got some input on this.

Oh boy..another tread about ghosting...,there so much around so I keep it short..

Vsync reduces ghosting, game patches often work,so is turning down brightness.
You can also calibrate your monitor to reduce ghosting.
Or buy a Planar 3dmonitor or a projector .....

Btw you can take pictures of ghosting, just take a picture tru your 3dvision glasses (one lens) and show it here.

Sorry, but I think you may have been duped. Get a Samsung LED-LCD. I think everybody probably gets a little bit of ghosting, but what you are describing sounds awful. Mafia 2 looks good on mine. Resident Evil 5 too.
Once again, sorry, but I have never even heard of a BenQ. Or hopefully, maybe there is just something else wrong and you don't yet have it setup right.
Maybe SLI is your problem. Might try just running it on 1 card.I am running on one 480 myself.Good luck.

Yeah, sorry. I realize many people have problems with ghosting, but usually they can be explained by various things. I for one has tried with or without vsync, messed with the colors in panel and a seperate coloring program. Also tried different hz, but didn`t do much at all. SLI is not the problem either. Also messed with settings, but it doesn`t work. Actually, most games work pretty decent when I can adjust convergence and depth together. Sure, it never gets perfect but without convergence it is impossible it seems. Can`t really understand how 3D ready games are the worst, makes no sense at all, since convergence is basically what makes it work, or else there is to much ghosting. Any way to override ghosting in games that have it locked? I know Black ops had that, that game is almost ghosting free:)

Guess I have to look for other monitors then, if I want a better experience. Which is the best 3D computer screen?
