This is weird but I can't get the 3D vision to work on GTA V...everytime I start the game, the 3D vision is disabled and hitting CTRL+T to enable it doesn't help. Does anybody have the same problem?
Yes, this has been happening to a lot of us. It's hard to get 3D to 'stick'. There are a few things I've found you can try. Haven't found anything that works every time yet. Setting 3D on requires game restart. So does changing vsync. Try setting the right resolution and frequency (119 is OK), and have 3D OFF to start. Set to Fullscreen, then accept changes. Might need a restart. Once it is working full screen, you can THEN set 3D on, and it will often work. If that didn't happen, next to try is alt-enter to force full screen. Try this like 5 times. I've had it 'stick' after 3 tries. If you have multiple monitors active, set it for a single primary monitor. With multiple monitors live, I could never get it to 'stick'. If that doesn't work, try creating the commandline.txt file in the game root, and add '-fullscreen' to the settings. Edit: Also found that setting Windows Aero to ON makes it work better. 5 launches in a row with it sticking in full screen properly with 3D enabled.

There's also the yellow place markers during missions that only converge the closer you get to them, but that isn't as big a deal for me.

However I don't think the 3D is all that great...there are lots of problems with text rendering in one eye only and lots of ghostly images and stuff it makes me dizzy, also the game just randomly turns off 3D after a while, usually after 30 or so minutes and the worst of it all, it locks the game at 30 fps...Iam really disappointed at the 3D, I hoped for a nice smooth experience, like I had in crysis 3 and the new tomb raider, but I guess it needs a lot of tweaking... Thanks for the help anyway.

Try it out and see if it helps:)

Would you mind listing exactly what settings you are using? Including any 3D settings you set in the nvidia control panel. But I must say the 3D is gash...Max Payne 3 had lovely 3D effects and I had zero problems with it. The problem is Iam not using a single gpu, as you see from my signature, so the problem might be elsewhere, but it isn't in my computer, because I even did a clean install of windows before I installed GTA V so the game will work flawlesly and it does, but the nvidia 3D vision is clunky to use and get it working properly...as I mentioned I had to do 3 restarts of the game before I got the 3D working properly... Based on my experience with Dragon Age Inquisition (which had the exact same problem) I managed to improve this by setting in NVPanel the Vsync to Adaptive or On(Smooth). Try it out and see if it helps:)

Thanks for the tips, I will try them out right, be right back with the results.

I don't know what you are taking but I can say that 3D Vision is clearly great in this game.
Like I said it numerous times.. disable MSAA. It will remove the weird one fog and stuff...
Ghostly images - sounds like you have a hardware problem there my friend... nothing to do with the game..
There is no 30fps lock As I can get up to 60fps in 3D on 2 computers...
The 3D Vision disable seems to appear only on single GPUS.. I've encountered it just once on my laptop after around 1 hour.

Turning of MSSA removed the gray Fog in on Eye for me like mentioned before, but had 3D disabling and crashing in SLI.

Would you mind listing exactly what settings you are using? Including any 3D settings you set in the nvidia control panel. And if you did set any in the nvidia control panel did you add gtav in the program settings and adjust anything specifically for gta or are you just using global settings?

Iam not using MSAA, I have the fxaa disabled aswell as the txaa when I tried out the 3D, however when Iam playing without the 3D enabled I use only the 2xTXAA.
I have all settings on default/global in the nvidia control panel, I haven't touched anything in there and Iam running the game on 1080p with everything maxed out but have the advanced settings all turned off.
As I said, all problems are solved (text, crash,...) if you set GTA5.exe with Alternate frame rendering 2 when using a SLI, excepted some grass shaders which are still broken (not a game breaker). I played a few hours and I can say that the 3D is absolutely stunning and the game runs smooth on my system.

@3rr0r007 Will you screen shot your graphics settings so I can compare mine to yours? Did you remove the GTAV.exe from the profile?

Did you remove the GTAV.exe from the profile?

Here I always have 3D disabled or shaders broken after5 min playing... single GTX970 I tried: remove GTA5 exe from profile, put Vsync to adaptative, kill GTA launcher after loading a game... WTF I'm stucked and really disapointed...

@3rr0r007 thanks for your reply, but my post was prolly a bit misleading. I was hoping for helifax to to post his Settings. @helifax could you?
