enabling 3D vision on nvidia monitor
  1 / 2
Hello, The 3d stereo emitter of my monitor don't start :( I have a GTX670 and a vg278H (a very nice screen. It's a nvidia compatible monitor). I update the driver and try to setup the 3D stereo. The nvidia configuration/test don't enable the 3D of the screen: the green light in the top of the screen is always off. Is there something to do for enabling the stereo on this monitor ?

Are you connected with a DVI-D cable? If you are, try using the cable included with the monitor.

Good idea, but I am already using the dual-link dvi cable from my monitor.

It's possible your motherboard has an onboard graphics chip, and you have the monitor plugged into that instead of the graphics card. Mistakes happen, it's worth checking. What version of Windows are you using?

Yes, my motherboard (an asus Z87-A) has a graphic chip. I check but the monitor is plugged into the graphic card. It's the primary DVI port of the graphic card. I'm using windows 7 with no update. I only install the newest driver for my motherboard chipset, audio chipset, etc (all from the asus website). I make a clean install a few days before and there is only java 7.0 installed. No other program.

The graphics driver - is that from the manufacturer of the card/dvd that shipped with it, or is it from nVidia's site?

One dude I was watching on youtube had the same problem. He had the 3d vision setup screen on, and when the 3d mode was supposed to kick in, and his emitter didn't start, he unplugged his monitor (without turning it off), waited for about 10 seconds, and plugged it back in, and the emitter kicked on. Worth a shot I suppose... *shrug

Yes, exactly the same. The wizard begins without problem. The only (and big) problem is that the green triangle and the blue hex are merged. There is no stereoscopic. I have found the good answser (hex and triangle are not merged) to end the wizard (by cheating).

I'd take the monitor back to the retailer and try and exchange it. Could well be faulty.

I am not clear - is it now working? I have the same monitor and I use my old separate emitter (the pyramid) that have from my 3DVision1 set because I have trouble with the built in emitter not always being in sync (sometimes the left and right images flip, which requires you to alt tab out of a game and back in, or turn the monitor off and on etc) - it's fine most of the time, but is annoying, and never happens with the separate emitter pyramid.

I'm sure you've already tried this, but I thought I read somewhere that people have had to completely unplug these monitors from the mains for a while to 'reset' the built in emitter?
