I have just started playing Starcraft 2. Apart from the cutscenes, it looks great in 3D btw! I noticed the mouse curser trying to go 3D. It was 3D for a bit but when I clicked on a floating unit the mouse went back to 2D (well 3D but very close to screen depth). Any thoughts on how to get it to stay 3D?

There may be a bug, we will have to investigate
That would be great.
During the cutscenes the game goes 2D, which is fine BUUUUT the screen flickers from one perspective to the next. It looks to me like the screen is try to go 2D from 3D but cant decide on what eye to stay on. What is weird is the closer objects seem to have the most vergence. I guess this is why they turned off the 3D - no worries. I turn off the 3D from the menu to solve this issue but its a shame.
Also, in game whenever a story character pops up to talk to you, the 3D briefly flickers off and on.

I have the same problem. Also the smaller window on the left side of the screen, where the character talks, is most of the time completely garbled. This does not happen, when an older save game with a previous version of the game is loaded, so it is likely something, that was broken with 3D vision in the 1.3 Update of the game.
This is with SLI on or off, Windows 7 64 (266.85 WHQL driver)

Hi
This isnt a bug. Blizzard disabled 3D during the cutscenes.

Not the cutscenes, they are 2D of course. But this happens during the 3D gameplay, whenever some character speaks to you, then this small window on the left shows the speaking guy or creature (head), in this moment 3D flickers off (flash in the glasses) and on again, which is quite distracting and not fun. Also the speaking character(head) is not visible at all.
This is with the game default values for 3D. If you put 'convergence amount' (in game) to zero, the speaking character becomes visible, but the off/on flash happens nevertheless. In previous versions of the starcraft.exe (version 1.1 or 1.2) this did not happen, so this is a bug, they brought in with patch 1.3

Any update on the '2D' mouse? It really tries to be 3D dynamic, it really does. Every now and again, maybe once in four games the mouse becomes 3D. When it lasts it's glorious. But click on a flying unit or HUD and it gets stuck just behind screen depth.

Did the 3D mouse work once upon a time then?
It sure did.
The 3D mouse appears to work for me in SC2, only it randomly turns itself off and on for no apparent reason, so one minute I can see my cursor fine at a decent depth, the next minute it'll go double vision on me, but then again, I seem to get this issue on a lot of games atm, even the Nvidia crosshair refuses to render at anything other than 'far' depth for me making it double vision on me if I look at anything close with it.........

Really a pity, game worked perfectly before, IMO almost 3D ready. A showcase 3D vision RTS it was.
