Help me figure this out... "Warning: Attempt to run stereoscopic 3d in non-stereoscopic..."
I have an Acer GD235HZ 3d-vision compatible monitor which worked without problems for about a year after which the right half of the screen suddenly stopped working. I sent it off to Acer for repair, it came back, seems to be working just fine again except for one weirdness I'm not at all sure what to attribute it to.

Whenever I'd try to use 3d-Vision with I'm getting a red "Warning: Attempt to run stereoscopic 3d in a non-stereoscopic mode" warning across the middle of the screen while 3d seems to be working in the background except for an irregular, once a second hitching that keeps occuring.

The monitor seems to work just fine in 2d windows at 120 hz, no sign of the hitching. I also found that for some reason setting the monitor to 110 hz in 3d makes it work normally but using either 120 or 100 hz will give the same error. Changing the refresh rate on the monitor to 60 and then back to 120 will often (but not always) get it to work in 3d at 120hz, during which it doesn't seem to have any problems until you stop playing for awhile and then it's likely to have the same problem again.

I've tried a clean driver install, checked the cable... I suppose there's nothing wrong with 110 hz for 3d but what is going on here?
