I can't say for certain but my guess is no on 3D Vision as FFXI used an uncommon render to texture method, so the entire scene would most likely be 2D with FFXI. The FFXIV bench just came out, but unfortunately its locked to window mode and can't be forced to full-screen from what I can see (haven't bothered checking switches or anything), so as of now its unknown whether 3D Vision works with it or not. Maybe someone in the Alpha/Beta can say more definitively.

I tried the FF XIV open beta. Although I have switched to fullscreen mode and the game uses directx (at least there is message with directx when the game crahses) the 3D vision can`t be activated in this game :'(

Actually, you can. I have not only done it, but I have done it using the windower and gotten the "This application is not familiar to NVIDIA blah blah blah" to go away with it. This was not asked, but I am going to post it anyway...who doesn't use the windower for FFXI? FFXI by itself starts up fine with 3D Vision in Fullscreen mode. You do this first, then CTRL+ALT+Insert to make that pop screen go away. The Windower, on the other hand, will not let you do that. So, you just do something along the lines of renaming the windower.exe to pol.exe and it works.

@Synobis:
Do You also have experiences with the actual FF XIV beta?
Using the anaglyph version of iz3D the game runs in S3D in contrary to using 3D vision. Had the same phenomenon with Shaun White Snowboarding.
But there are some problems with dynamic shadows and background objects beeing displayed at the wrong depth.

sorry to necro this thread... but yes, it does run in 3d with NVidia 3dvision. at least, it did until very recently. and I am here trying to figure out why it stopped working.
my first ffxi.nip profile, back in windows 7, was created using NVidia profile inspector and taking pol.exe association off of the 'all play online games' profile, and linking it to the 'final fantasy xi benchmark 3' profile. after a while, on windows 8 or 10 (can't remember which), that stopped working and I had to figure something else out. at that point I linked it to the default profile generated by ff7.exe (2012) which I had installed and I got 3d again in windows 10.
that worked for a long time, and then a few weeks ago stopped working. so I am stuck on the 368.95 driver until we figure out why. i have tried every single gpu update since and nothing makes this awesome game run in 3d anymore. not the default profile (which never worked), nor the 2 profiles i figured out. please help!!! hate not being able to update my graphics :( but I refuse to play ffxi unless it's in 3d.
i am now in windows 10 anniversary edition (14393, the most recent public release). I am guessing this had something to do with the fact this this is a directx8 game, the implementation of directx12 or Vulcan, and/or the fact that in dxdiag.exe the driver went from wdddm 2.0 to 2.1. (i am no expert, just guessing). i dual boot windows 7 and 10 (because that's the only way to run project64.exe in 3d with iz3d.exe which never worked in windows 8 and up), but i really don't want to have to reinstall the final fantasy xi again in an obsolete operating system. that i'm trying to ditch (so if anyone knows how to get n64 games running in 3d in win 10 i am all ears, but that's off topic).
anyway, is there any other directx8 game that runs in 3d that we could try linking pol.exe to? i don't like iz3d because of the messed up shadows. i prefer proper shadows and messed up bloom effects on the avatars with my method/NVidia 3d vision.
one idea i had was to try to use reshade or dgvoodo to get it to run as dx9 or 11 but that's a bit outside the realm of my skill set and if anyone could figure out a new profile and help us that would be great! *waits 20 years* ...thanks. lol

dgVoodoo2 added dx8 support last year, perhaps try it?
Decided to reinstall this game using private server, windows 10 as usual would not kick in 3d. So I installed fresh copy of windows 7 on a different hard drive, and newest nvidia driver. Profile Inspector does not show Final Fantasy 11 on this list now, does this have to do with the profile inspector version or the Driver?

Also tried installing the same older driver from my windows 10 installation, and used the same version profile inspector, still did not show the ffxi profile. Any suggestions?
