I play without the fix. I think many of the issues it dealt with have been fixed/reduced. With some tricks and tweaks (scattered throughout this thread), 3D works quite well.
Whether the game survives the transition to "buy to play" remains to be seen.
Do you still enjoy the game and how you can compare it to Skyrim experience ? Two different approaches to the game but still - this is same world and I hope it has the same feeling. I couldn`t get much from my beta test experience.

I personally play it a lot, but I can absolutely not guarantee that if you liked Skyrim you'll like ESO. I think within the constraints of an MMO, the Elder world has been implemented quite well in the environments, the quests, crafting and all that. The bigger question is whether you like the gameplay. And that's substantially different from Skyrim. I do have to say the game has a huge amount of content you can complete solo. When you run out of that, though, there's either forced-group content or multiplayer for the end-game and IMHO neither is a big success. Unless you already know people to play with, grouping is problematic and multiplayer doesn't receive much attention. Especially the servers. occasionally lag terribly. The introduction of buy to play will come with a complete overhaul of the progression system though and it is hoped this will keep the game interesting for longer.

Thanks. I have to give it a try. Although I am teased by DA Inquisition where we have community support for 3D. Weird choice but that's what I have right now in my head.

Not sure if anyone still plays this in 3D. I just installed the helix fix for the game but for some reason out of nowhere the colors on the screen will turn to red, blue and green then all the sudden the screen will go fuzzy. Has this happened to anyone else? And yes i have switched it to the wow profile and run it in dx9. I've attached a screen shot so you can see what it looks like. Sorry its in 2d but it wouldnt let me take one in 3d for some reason but it looks the same in 3d. The 2nd image is how it looks when its fuzzy.

Thanks for the fast response helix! There was a few patches recently. Not sure if that might of done something. Edit: I decided to switch it back to dx11 to see if would do the same thing and so far it seems to be running fine. Let me know if you find anything.

(Remove the game from Wow profile and put it back to the TESO one).
- Copy the above profile in a file with .nip extension
- Import it with Nvidia Inspector
- Play the game and HAVE FUN;))
Hope this helps;))
PS: this was on my Laptop with no SLI/Surround stuff. I don't know what it looks like in 3D Surround/SLI but last I checked everything was perfect as well there;)

Hey folks!
Thanks helifax for sharing this trick! Very usefull as i used to have weird shadows with w.o.w profile and Dx9 and plus my 3Dvision did not kick in at all after last game update 2.0.14. Now, with your custom profile, everything is working back again as expected.
Arthane, you did just copy and paste code in a blank page, don't you? xml error should be comming from inapropriate tabulations in text format when you paste from the forum. So you should try to export the TESO profile from nVidia inspector first. Then, open this newly created file and change only the value 1881060439 corresponding of the line 46 in helifax's file. Save the modified file and then import it into nVidia inspector. Voila, it should work.

Regarding to the update notes the new DLC coming march 2016 will prevent You from running the game in Dx9 and forces You to use Dx11 :( I have tried the game in Dx11 with compatibility mode using the profile for Sniper Elite 3. I have also changed 'SET PreferExclusiveFullscreen "0"' to 'SET PreferExclusiveFullscreen "1"' in UserSettings.txt (don't know if really necessary). It works but of course isn't nearly as good as the fixed Dx9. So I will try to complete the main story and "finish" the game for me before the update arrives...

The pattern for fixing it in DX9 was pretty consistent (not easy to work out mind you), so you could have a crack at simply transferring it to DX11, unless they introduce new graphical "improvements" that mess with lighting or whatever.

This seriously sucks. Playing this game in 3D has been one of the few things I have been getting enjoyment out of lately while I have been fighting depression. The game has too many issue in DX11 mode to enjoy the 3D experience. Oh well, that's pretty much par for the course with my life lately :(

I'm sorry for You and I can understand Your frustration. For me it might be the straw that breaks the camel's back regarding MMORPGs. I really like playing it but being forced to make updates that ruin Your builds and familiar gameplay or even mess up S3D (what also happened with GW2 some time ago) is very annoying. Just too bad if You invest dozens/hundreds of hours in a game and then the developers takes it away from You with an update. I think I will focus more on offline games in the future...
