Here's an idea: AMD has a series of video cards that work. Try those. I've been unable to install a WORKING driver for the past 6 months on this video card because apparently my stuff is too old. Even using the older drivers can't be done either. I've tried everything posted on this forum with no luck. It just won't install. Epic phail on the part of NVidia IMO. Hearing that the 3D stuff fell off the face of the earth, i'm actually quite happy I didn't bother investing in it.

Btw, what's "this" video card and what stuff is too old? I have a second PC with a 8800 GTX on it and the latest drivers work just fine.

AMD stopped supporting pre HD5000 cards starting with catalyst 12.7 Nvidia has stated that they'll be dropping support for older cards as well in new drivers, if they haven't already. You might try Tweakforce.com

I've been examining the hardware for some time and think it lacks the game base and commitment to convince me to buy. I have a 32" Active 3DLED display i us for gaming which has the HDMI1.4a standard for packet transmissions and so I'd have to use 720p (which is utterly intolerable) for 60FPS. What I've heard about the plan from AMD 'heresay' of course is exciting, since they intend to support a wide variety of devices, imagine if the community supported the idea and pushed it, that could make for a very different 3D market.

Until TV's and projectors themselves support 1080p 3d with either dual link dvi/display port or using the 300mhz port processors, anything vid card manufacturers do won't help. Why they don't just updgrade to dual link dvi since they already have dvi in everything makes me scratch my head considering the market is WIDE OPEN for the taking as well...

Because HDMI and HDCP are licensing whores. It's because of them that we ever had such a thing as Analog Sunset and the Digital Millenium Copyright Act. How the hell they can get away with punishing/burdening the innocent for the actions of criminals, is beyond me.

There was some question in this thread about not hearing from Andrew, and I thought I'd point out that he is no longer the manager for 3D Vision, he manages NVidia Grid now. (Online searching, I don't know him.) It would have been nice if he'd said "see-ya", but that job change explains his absence here.

Ever go to a restaurant and have a superb meal, only to go back the next the next month and the food is horrible? Inquiring, you find out that the old Chef either quit, got fired or was transferred to another location? Perhaps 3D Vision may seem that way, but it will never be abandoned due to the fact so many technologies use it daily. 3D Vision is just their consumer spinoff of their pro version.

Hi All I apologize if anyone felt as though I was abandoning you. When our forums went down my habit of checking our forums every day went away. Once you get out of your routine its hard to get back on it. So when the forums went back online my habit was broken and I apologize for that. I still work on 3D Vision and in fact I am on a call right now with the engineering team discussing some new 3D Vision features. To some people's quesiton, yes I do now also work on NVIDIA GRID and was at CES 2013 demonstrating that. Hope all is well with everyone

@Andrew, great that you're alive!! I personally (and i think a lot more users) have some questions. I know maybe never get a response, but asking is free :) 1) You/Nvidia are planning to support 3D for some of the new 2013 titles, like Dead Space 3, Bioshock Infiniti, Crysis 3, Metro: Last Light, Tomb Raider, etc... With last big titles we get none support (Dishonored, Far Cry 3, AC3, Hitman......i cry with AC3 for about 10 minutes, really!!) 2) Some of those features you're discussing with your team are add SBS/TB support for 3D Vision/3DTV Play? 3) Any news about Nvidia/3D and Oculus Rift ¿? Thanks and don't get lost!! DHR

@Andrew Fear Good to see that you are still here, knowing that you partake in stereographic gaming. Also, Grats!! on the added workload, I hope there was added compensation as well :P
