My BenQ XL2410 3d monitor is stuck in 3d mode after installing the new 270 driver. I've had this issue before where it wouldn't "release" after exiting a game, but it would always fix itself after running the Nvidia 3d test and exiting. However, this will not work now. Also, resetting my computer will not work. It appears to be permenantly stuck in 3d mode, which is making using my monitor for regular tasks difficult, as it is too bright. Andrew, can you please make sure this is looked into quickly? Permenant 3d mode can't be good for anyone's eyes, or the monitor itself.

How are you verifying its stuck in 3D mode?
Is the monitor too bright?
Is the emitter bright green?

Yes, the monitor will tell you what mode it's in. 3d mode stays in 100 percent brightness, and you can't adjust it manually. It's too bright to use it for regular viewing when it stays stuck. The emitter, however, does NOT stay bright green.

Thanks, this definitely has something to do with the driver.
happens to me too on acer gd235hz, ive always used the nvidia 3d test (spinning logo) after a game to revert to normal brightness, this isnt doing anything anymore, neither is the "in 3d vision fullscreen only" select box

Well, I found out late last night that I can re-run the entire 3D "setup wizard," and then the monitor will go back to standard mode instead of staying stuck in 3D mode. However, it REALLY sucks to have to do this every time. I hope they address this issue quickly. It's a pretty big bug.

that didnt work for me
but after i killed firefox.exe in task manager, it came back to normal brightness (non 3d mode)
and once, it just came back to non 3d mode after being for half an hour-an hour outside of a game
i dunno, just seems buggy as hell now
bring it back the way it was with pre 270 drivers plz
my samsung 2233rz is now getting "stuck" in magicbrite also. rebooting doesnt help. Running the stereo test can sometimes switch it back to normal, but sometimes I have to do it 5 times. It's only a beta, so Nvidia if you can figure out what the deal is that would be great.

Hi All
We are aware of this issue and are working on a fix.
I have dual monitors. An ASUS 120hz as the main, left monitor, and an ASUS 60hz as the secondary, right monitor.
This problem started after I installed the 275.27 beta, and continues today with the 275.33 WHQL.
Stereo 3D will not run now unless I disable multi-mon in windows resolution settings. After doing this, the Asus is stuck in 3D mode (pressing the info button on the display itself confirms this)
This is very annoying because in order to play any Stereo3D game, I must disable the right-hand monitor (which messes up all my window positions), and then once it's disabled, the main monitor is over-bright and stuck in 3D mode even on the windows desktop!!
Please look into this for me Andrew!
---------------------
Edit: Actually it seems that I have somehow accidentally fixed the issue, hopefully it stays fixed!
What I did was install an 8800GT into my secondary PCI-E slot so that I could run an extra monitor for about an hour.
I unplugged my secondary 60hz ASUS monitor and plugged it along with my temporary third monitor both into the 8800GT. The 120hz ASUS was by itself on the GTX570.
When I pulled out the 8800GT and put my monitors back to the way I had them, I also swapped the cables from top to bottom (not sure if this matters, I tried this before I added this extra card and it did not fix the issue, but I'm listing it now in case it's somehow part of the solution)
After rebooting everything seems fine now, here's hoping it stays that way!

This issue has been described many times in several threads (there may be more):
Then in a thread related to one of the latest drivers (285.27) someone posted this. Saying that it's probably solely the game's responsibility to switch back the monitor from 3D to 2D.
I really don't know now if it's "just" some games (quite a lot!) who don't deal with 3D as they are supposed to or if it's a driver issue. I remember to have read elsewhere in these forums where someone also claimed that for him the issue hadn't appeared until a certain driver-release...
I don't think Nvidia has given any insightful answer on this topic yet... /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />
