Convergence wasn't locked for me. I liked the demo. It's as vulgar as I'd hoped. The game has hardlly any ghosting at 75% depth. I did not do the renaming of the exe and it looked great to me. Sure, SOME of the textures aren't up to snuff, but a lot of them looked as sharp as they should be. As for polygon count.. well it does it's job and the game runs at solid vsync'd 60fps. So f*ck yall who don't like it... I'm blowin me up some pig cop muthaf*kas on launch day. /pirate.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':pirate:' />

Ok, go into Steam and copy the First Access key to your clipboard. Go to www.dukenukemforever.com, click on the First Access button. On the First Access page you put in the key you got from Borderlands. Then it'll give you a key to download the steam duke forever demo. When you've got the new key, go back into Steam, Click on "Add a game" at the bottom, click "Activate Product on Steam", and put in the duke forever key that the first access site gave you. Install.
Hope that helps. /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I've been playing the Demo ...updated my drivers to 275.33 BUT ...
There are floating textures ALL over the place. With all the textures out of place, the only way I can really play it is to turn down depth as far as I can.
Some of you guys are saying the 3D is fine?
Yes, got the game through Steam but I don't see an update for it yet. Maybe I should delete it and retrieve it again?

You can see from the SG video (see my post much further up) DukeForever runs well in 3D, but I did suffer a similar problem, but only after I had alt-tabbed out the game and then back in. After suffering this problem -- a restart seemed to fix it. No doubt you not alt-tabbing, so probably no use but thought I mention just incase.

I don`t like demo performance in 3D. It`s because of strange Vsync algorithm. As far as I know, it`s an Unreal 2.0 engine bug - then Vsync turned ON, small FPS drop below the locked level results in FPS lock at half of this level! And in 2D mode this is not a problem - you get 60 FPS instead of 120, or you can just disable Vsync, but in 3D FPS locked at 60, so any drop leads to 30 FPS lock, which is realy slow and choppy. In 3d mode vsync is always turned on, you can`t disable it. That`s sad, this game doesn`t have such a good graphic to run so slowly. Gameplay is oldschool and funny, so i`m dissapointed in this issue, have to play Duke in 2D.

Well, the issue turned out to have something to do with updating to 275.33 drivers! Reinstalling the game via Steam was no help. So, I went back to basics - installing the 275.33 drivers with the clean install option this time, I honestly didn't think it would help, but you always need a reference point with these things. Voila! No more floating textures ...all in place now!
Nifty game. They really did a great job of keeping Duke ...well, uh "Duke" ...if you know what I mean. It's as someone else mentioned: the 'feel' of the game is very similar to all those late evenings playing and replaying Duke and all the add-ons of yesteryear. If you want to complain about the gameplay or graphics or whatever, just buy a different game.

I hope there's an option to turn that off, because motion blur + stereo 3d is no good in any game.
Otherwise ... it's very old school FPS fun. I'm not sure I'll get it on day 1, maybe later in a steam sale.

If you want to complain about the gameplay or graphics or whatever, just buy a different game.
THIS IS DUKE NUKEM, BABY!
