Thanks a lot guys, at least I confirmed something is wrong with the Bioshock itself....or my savegame.
msm903, thnx I'll load the attached savegame and post the results shortly. 3 questions....When you load your own savegames (ver 1), do you notice these same graphical errors? Or is it just my savegame that caused this in your PC? When you loaded my savegame, did you notice that the security cameras have "double light"? Did you also notice in some water filled rooms that the reflected image on water is double?
Before playing Bioshock, I had updated it to ver 1.1. I played ver 1.1 until I reached that savegame, and everything was normal. One night as I loaded that savegame, Bioshock crashed, and the graphics never returned to normal. When you crash in Bioshock, all settings are lost and returned to default. The puzzling thing is that I set the graphics options EXACTLY as before, but Bioshock doesn't look same anymore, trying different settings for hours. More wierd, as you can read in my post, I checked and replaced my PC components...all work fine.
I'd appreciate if you load my savegame once more and take a second look to answer the questions above.....I'll be able to find out exactly if this issue is not related to any PC, just the game itself.

I'll try it when I get home. But my Savegames load and play fine no errors of any sort. I took a quick glimpse of yours (I did this this morning while getting ready for work, my wife almost killed me) but when I did I had most of what you saw. As soon as I loaded it I was able to see the drastic difference between the two save games.
Have you tried a basic install on Version 1.0 with a new game just for testing purposes?

I loaded your savegame and played for long. The "double-image in fog" is almost unnoticeable in this level, because this level doesn't have much fog in it. There are still places with some fog if you find, you can clearly see the double image glitch...especially the double-image of weapon is easy to see. Just find a place with dust or fog and look at the wrench or weapon with a shadow image of it.
Also, loading your savegame, I saw the same security camera light glitch...the security cameras have double lights slightly apart. I also saw the same double-reflection images on some water surfaces. Not all water surface reflections have this problem...only some places. The "fog shadow" issue is not specific to Bioshock only; games like Far Cry 2, some places of COD4 etc suffer from the same problem....where there's dust or fog, objects have double image...one the object and another a dark shadow beside it.
I already tried long time ago installing a clean Bioshock, testing both versions 1.0 and 1.1, but same results.
Let's see what's your feedback after taking a second look at my savegame.

I'll have to see what happens when I get to the later stages. Yes the way the game is made it's hard to render the fog especailly when you are outside the fog about to enter it. Once I turn off Shadow Maps, Hight Detail Post Processing and Distortion it works great for my current levels.
The saved game you gave me is dstarically different compaired to waht I'm experiencing. I'll see what happens in later stages :(

I also have "High detail post processing", "Distortion" and "Shadow maps" turned off. I turned them off before even playing the game, coz it's the 3D recommended settings. But I still see two lights from security cameras, shadow/double-image of objects in fog and two reflected images on some water surfaces.
But do you see these artifacts in your savegames? I mean you haven't reached the point where fog increases dramatically, but I think you should be able to see security camera and reflection glitches. Look for it in your level; I'm sure you'll notice it. Also, try finding a place with some dust or fog and look at your weapon; you'll see a shadow of it...kinda double image.
Let me know of results. We'll find out if this is a common issue with game or something else is missing.

Yes there are glitches in the game, however I've allways had those glitches it's strange for me looking at reflections also, but I just don't focus on them and unless I'm looking for them I don't see them. Everygame I have with 3d vision has glitches here and there :( I know that's not what you are looking for.
However as yet I have not seen the drastic difference in my savegames as I've noticed from your screen shots. That may happen when I get to your stage. I don't think they are using volumetric mist, but instead just a shader to represent mist.

I don't spoil the game story for you, coz you haven't reached Arcadia yet (point of my savegame), but I just say that in Arcadia something happens that fills the whole level with a fog or mist. That fog will destroy the whole fun of playing Bioshock in 3D, and it will make all Bioshock 3D glitches too obvious to ignore. This happens exactly at that savegame point, which is my last savegame.
When I crashed after loading that savegame, I lost my Bioshock settings. After setting up Bioshock as before, and loading it again, I immediately noticed the difference before and after the mist. The crash coincided with that fog-filling point. This led me to believe that something is wrong with my hardware or 3D setup after crash. Now I have come to the conclusion that this is a known issue with Bioshock and 3D vision, after finding that you and others have same issues with the game. I just gave myself headaches changing GPU, glasses, monitor etc....maybe I should have asked you to load my savegame earlier lol.
I've also concluded that when I was playing Bioshock before that point, I was so concentrated and busy playing the game that I failed to notice the glitches  . Same thing with Far Cry 2 which I finished a month ago...didn't notice the fog glitch in that too....now I see it.
The most annoying ones are the fog double-image and the security camera double light. Now all we can do is to make a request to Andrew for fixing these issues in future driver releases. I hope Andrew has the time to read my posts, though he hasn't dropped a line for long despite my requests. But he does great job as he fixed major fog issues in COD series.

msm903, thnx I'll load the attached savegame and post the results shortly.
Thanks

Thanks,

I'll have to see what happens when I get to the later stages. Yes the way the game is made it's hard to render the fog especailly when you are outside the fog about to enter it. Once I turn off Shadow Maps, Hight Detail Post Processing and Distortion it works great for my current levels.
The saved game you gave me is dstarically different compaired to waht I'm experiencing. I'll see what happens in later stages :(

Look for it in your level; I'm sure you'll notice it. Also, try finding a place with some dust or fog and look at your weapon; you'll see a shadow of it...kinda double image.
Let me know of results. We'll find out if this is a common issue with game or something else is missing.
Thanks a lot

Yes there are glitches in the game, however I've allways had those glitches it's strange for me looking at reflections also, but I just don't focus on them and unless I'm looking for them I don't see them. Everygame I have with 3d vision has glitches here and there :( I know that's not what you are looking for.
However as yet I have not seen the drastic difference in my savegames as I've noticed from your screen shots. That may happen when I get to your stage. I don't think they are using volumetric mist, but instead just a shader to represent mist.

Cheers.
