What's your favorite game in 3D?
  5 / 35
1. Avatar by far. Not the greatest game but the 3d made it worthwhile. The 3d was unbelievable!!!
2. Batman AA. Incredible.
3. Tomb Raider Underworld and Legend. Simply beautiful.
4. Resident Evil 5 Very good.

After that I have have mixed opinions. I love 1st person shooters but not with 3d vision. I have trouble with the whole aiming thing being accurate enough and it gets very frantic and my eyes get crazed after awhile but I have to say:

5. Half-Life2, Half-Life2 Episode 1 and Half-Life2 Episode 2 are incredible in 3d. I played Episode 1 and 2 during x-mas with my brother over lan cooperatively with Synergy and we had a blast. Unfortunately only one of us was in 3d and we had to take turns with that. It's amazing how older games like Half-Life 2 look so great in 3d.

6. Bioshock. A little crazy sometimes (by that I mean that I need to take a break every now and then, my eyes get tired)

7..... Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 looks great but I just can't get past the whole aiming/frantic thing so I'm playing that 2d

Same with Borderlands, Vegas 1 and 2, Left for Dead

Mirror's Edge annoyed me because I found the stark bright whites to be too much to bare to continue playing in 3d. I tried turning down the contrast but I felt that it compromised the look of the game. I simply liked it better in 2d but wanted so much to play it in 3d. Great game BTW.

Overall I am happy I bought the glasses but I wish I wanted to play all the games in 3d.

i feel the exact same way with call of duty mw 2. i can bare it in single player but in multiplayer but the aiming the way it is i get owned. it's more enjoyable in 2d. With that said i really hope Nvidia works with Infinity Ward for future COD's to be better 3D implemented.

I'm having a blast playing Left 4 Dead 2 in 3D though. Apart from the water section's the game is great fun. Once you've got the convergence right the aiming isn't so bad. Not as accurate as 2d but close enough. :D

3D rocks and hope it gets better and better

I had eyestrain too with my first setup. The reason of this is because your playing whit too much separation. You can obtain the same or better result without eyestrain with the proper setting. You should take a look at the link in my sig.

It's a draw between Batman: Arkham Asylum and Painkiller. Painkiller is THE best FPS I've played in 3D.

Dragon Age has looked the best from what I have played. I've attached some JPSs. Only catch is the 2d cursor, but you can adapt pretty quick.

I have played most of the game you mentioned, thanks a lot...

my list:

Prototype. It was my first 3dgame and i remember it as one of the most impressive. you can almost catch the people.
when you fly trough the city, you feel like flying. AMAZING

Gothic 3: Pretty old game, but the fields and the castles and the caves, are incredible inmersive in 3d.
much more impressive (to me) than Risen (i´ve just tried it)

Need For Speed SHIFT: 3D very very well done.

Assassins creed: game=7 3d=10.... the only thing i need to say is this... without 3d i played this game one year ago, one hour.... i was bored and uninstalled it. With 3dvision, i gave it a second try and took me one week finish it and happy with it.

Batman: i´m playing right now and at the moment is very good 3d implementation.

If u havent tried these ones, you should.

Titan Quest easily (sooo cheap on Steam)
Burnout Paradise for depth (and much better than a good rating, no real problems for me)

Far Cry - awesome 3D effects throughout

notes-
Patch to 1.4
If you have the 'mouse won't aim' problem then go into controls in the main menu and hit 'defaults'
To turn off the in-game crosshair open up the console (` key) and type \HUD_CROSSHAIR 0
Or to permanently remove the crosshair create a file called Systemcfgoverride.cfg in your Far Cry folder and add the following line to it-

hud_crosshair = "0"

So far.. Street Fighter 4. Only came across one level (yet) that doesn't render correctly. Everything else looks great.

NFS Shift is good too. Makes me want a TrackIR because I keep moving my head to look to the apex, or trying to see around stuff. I'm undecided how much crap I want to strap to my head to have immersive gaming though /teehee.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':teehee:' />

1. Unreal Tournament 2004. 3D absolutely SMASHES on this old game, particularly when you're in a vehicle using the drivers view, you see the interior of the Scorpion, and the horribly mangled gibs bounce all over as the blades cut through fools. Nametags appear at screen depth, which will drive some people nuts, just not me I suppose. A <50% depth game. But it feels new again. *EDIT: I redact my previous statement about UT3...in 2D this game looks best with in-game brightness set to 5-6, anything more is washed out and cruddy looking. In 3D it jumps right out at you when you hit 6-7, particularly the hologram transparencies. I forgot to compensate for the shading of the shutter glasses...*

2. NeoTokyo mod for Half-Life 2. A >50% game, take a walk through Red-Light and enjoy the sights. The in game reticle auto-adjusts itself without any parallax at all, and the Optical Camo looks very cool. Very few people play this mod, but it IS free if you have HL2.

3. Modern Warfare 2. A <50% game. The guide says to turn off Depth-of-Field, but when aiming down the sights, it pops far more dramatically when you keep it on. Try 3rd Person Tactical for a real 3D effect.

4. WoW. While I'm happy that Blizz put in-game 3D settings in the UI, they don't pair up well in conjunction with the nVidia settings. Use one, or the other, not both, for ye shall be losteth forever if you tryeth. The in-game 3D Hardware Cursor will take your framerates and poop on them, and the cooldown clocks still don't like to show up. Other than that, Onyxia is STUNNING when you are standing beneath her tossing MOAR DAWTS, This game does 3D exquisitely. Stand in front of Alexstraza and enjoy the jiggle physics :)

I hope like hell that Starcraft2/Diablo3 will also be 3D optimised, and that we will see games BUILT around 3D, since it is the buzzword this year after CES. PhysX may be ignored, but the PS3 and 3D Vision may claim at least 10% of the market, which is enough to keep it alive... aside from the, ahem, Adult industry...

Give "Devil May Cry 4" a try. Very well ported, runs smooth with (except AA - at 8x) highest options enabled on GTX280 Sli/I7-920 with great effects. I ran just the benchmark and watched.... WOW!
Will try Avatar now ;)
