Realtime 3D view Can 3D Vision do realtime 3D preview from Camera?
Hi.

Does anyone know how to do realtime 3D view with 3D Vision?
I would like to connect 2 cameras to a PC and show it on the display 3D in real time.

It seems to me that connecting two camera source filters to some nVidia's directshow filters is one way of doing this.
But so far, I have no luck finding any information about the directshow filters.

My guess is,

1) use nVidia's rederer filter and do like 'Set Full 3D screen mode' command.
2) connect a camera source filter to right eye renderer and the other camera to left eye renderer filter.
3) run the graph

Isn't it so simple or not???

Yes, you can do that pretty easy by using two capture cards, along with the Stereoscopic Multiplexer and the Stereoscopic Player - http://3dtv.at/Downloads/Index_en.aspx

Thank you for your info, bloody.

But this third party products seems to me that it is a solution to capture and playback 3D's.
What I want to do is forget about the file creation (at least for now) and just do live (pre)view of 3D image captured by 2 cameras.

I want to do it by only using NVIDIA's directshow filters, if possible.
Thank you for your info, bloody.

I've prepared a short guide on how to do it it the Stereoscopic Player and the Stereoscopic Multiplexer here: http://3dvision-blog.com/dual-camera-rig-l...ignment-method/

wonder if the fuji W1 or W3 could do this................same idea as a point and shoot that can double as your webcam. I see the w1 is listed for under 400$ in some places.

You should be able to do this with pretty much any 2D camera or camcorder that can output video trough standard RCA cable (works with HDMI too, but requires more expensive capture hardware). However for 3D products such as the Fuji it can be an issue, because it either will output 2D trough the video out or not have a video out function at all, unless it has an HDMI that can output according to the stereo 3D specs defined in HDMI 1.4(a) standard... but capturing that might as well be an issue. As for the Fuji W1 I think that it outputs just 2D image over its A/V out...
