(I have written a long article but it was eaten by an access denied because of security reasons !? so as a short version:)
Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China
- game uses Unreal Engine 3 BUT runs in Dx11 (compare Bioshock Infinite). Forcing Dx9 like here (http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Batman:_Arkham_Origins#Force_DirectX_9_mode ) causes crash.
- disabling dynamic shadows in ACCSystemSettings.ini (folder C:\Users\...\Documents\My Games\UnrealEngine3\ACCGame\Config ) removes some issues but especially halos caused by fog are very annoying. AllowNvidiaStereo3d=True has no effect.
- I have no experiences with 3Dmigoto fixes (and atm no time to learn it)
- so my only solution was to use the CM. I don't know if there is a profile for the game in the actual drivers (still using 344.75). Tried https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/791450/3d-vision/guide-how-to-enable-and-tweak-3d-compatibility-mode-in-any-dx11-game/ and found ID_0x709adada = 0x07f58257 to offer the best results. This value is also used by Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry. So You can add ACCGame-Win32-Shipping_exe to this profile using Nvidia Inspector (see http://helixmod.blogspot.de/2014/08/guide-how-to-get-depth-bufferfake-3d-to.html).
(WTF?! I can't post the name of the game's exe file correctly with "." insted of "_" without getting an error message from the forum board!)
Important: game has to run in a 16:9 resolution (not 16:10 etc). Otherwise therea are black bars that mess up the CM.
Issues with CM: "3D halos" quite obvious with higher convergence settings. Hints for key presses and outlines when hidden in the background sometimes mess up CM. Only played about 30 mins so there may be more issues coming.
So the game is playable with CM, but it would be great if it could be fixed. I think it should be worth the effort especially as there are 2 more parts of ACC coming.

Awesome work zayou!
Is there any chance that we can get you to put your fix for this on the Helixblog, along with your fixes for NBA 2K14 and London 2012?
Thank You so much for the fix! I just hunted the shader for the halo issues from sequence 6-12 as I couldn't continue to play in CM and played in true 3D (just disabling shaders causing issues). In CM the 3D halos are just to big in comparison to the characters that often are quite small.
Looking at Your fix I could add some halo shaders I discovered in sequence 6-12 (see attachement). I couldn't check them all in the game but I hope the way I fixed them is correct...
I had a strange issue with dad5d67a167ee401-vs_replace.txt that disables DoF: every time the character was moving the screen got darker (the faster the movement the darker the screen). So I had to remove this fix and set DepthOfField=False in ACCSystemSettings.ini (folder C:\Users\...\Documents\My Games\UnrealEngine3\ACCGame\Config).
I would suggest to set rasterizer_disable_scissor=1 in d3dx.ini as this removes issues with parts of the red color marker that are only rendered for one eye.
Did You already take a look at sequence 3 and 5? There are still a some issues with water reflections (which are fine in other areas like sequence 9). There are also halos caused by flames and GUI overlay for floors that make noise when You sprint. They have similar VS but I don't know how to transfer the fix for the halo caused by fog to these VS. These shaders are also in the attachement. Maybe You have an idea how to fix them or we could ask in the 3Dmigoto thread.
BTW Cheat Engine is a very useful tool if You want to hunt shaders of effects like dust clouds that are only visible for (split) seconds. The speedhack function allows You to extremely slow down the game. The speed You can cycle through the shaders with 3Dmigoto is not affected by the speedhack (in contrary to Helixmod).

As an Unreal game, perhaps look at Helix's Bioshock Infinite fix to see how he fixed shadows?
Sorry for my late feedback but I didn't have the time to play until today.
It's awesome how You managed to fix the remaining issues, especially the water reflections! It makes so much fun to play the game now in real S3D compared to the CM. Thank You so much for Your work. I'm going to play the game again now in its full beauty and looking forward for the next episodes of ACC!
