it is ok, u dont have to apologize ) I just wanted this game to be fixed - it is comletely stunning in this genre (gameplay, graphics, music, and even storytelling, +coop) IMHO ! but all the negative reviews are only about "fps drop" "won't start" etc.

I'm poking a stick at the game and I'm gettinig lost fix after load. CTD during load. My testrun is basically doing a lot of loads as quickly as possible. If I we're to play normally I think I would have less problems. While it happens I can see no pattern or reason for it not to work. I've tried different builds but the original appear one of the better ones. Being in windows 8.1 makes it impossible to delete the "evil" update as it is built-in. I've heard of great improvements with it's removal. The game is massive and I have "played" for 12 hours or rather mostly loading savegames. The worst part is it's only working until shaders break. Initially I never noticed the shaders breaking. It really is more visible with depth 100% instead of 40%. I also spent more time playing earlierr reducing the chance of broken shaders. Thank you to all who have tried my wrapper. My plans are to modify and try some different iterations. I can Always bring back 1.0. It is possible to recompile all the bin files but it takes a while and might requires loading the game twice. There might be shaders that don't compile properly but I'm not sure. Come across 3 shaaders I had trouble compiling. But then there is instances where everything compiles fine. I havn't been too active in the thread as I waited for Helifax verdict where he wrote step by step instructions.

@Flugan: I am still using the v.1.0 of the wrapper and 95% of the time I don't have the problem if the fix disabling. Crashing to Desktop while loading might happen here and there... but then again I played in the weekend 6hours straight with multiple loads (and I really mean a lot) and I didn't get either of the issues...But I'm on Windows 7 so who knows...

http://i.imgur.com/Al9b4yi.jpg This screenshot isn't how the fog fix is supposed to be right? Like I should move onto inspector and the BF4 profile? EDIT: inspector finagling did nothing. My only problem is the fog and I've completely run out of ideas after spending 3 hours trying every iteration of steps and commands. I'm pretty close to giving up because I think I've exhausted all the workarounds and tips in the blog, this thread, and of my own. Like I can't seriously think of any other series of steps or combination of files and settings I've missed. I can't even get the game to cache the shaders after it did it one time somehow. How do I even know its working? The fog isnt fixed and none of the hotkeys do anything(do i have to enable hunting mode?) The entire fix wouldn't even launch the game until I got the wrapper, so I assume its doing something, and I have no overlays or anything else to obstruct the exe hooking.

I can't see any 3D in that image though;)) it's plain 2D so I expect you are a 2D user. (No pun intended.) The reason I ask is that at some point I had some esquires about the fog sli fix on the Bioware forums. Are you aware if people are using the 3D Vision patch/fix to fix only the 2D FOG? If that is the case I can put up a separate version only for the Fog fix :) Back to your question: Yes, the fog is currently broken in certain places.... I missed a shader. I've already fixed it and should be part of the next update that Mike will make.

I get some texture flicker, but its tolerable and the game runs fine for me otherwise. I'm worried I'm going to have to shelve this game for another 2.5 months or longer is all.

(Just remove .jpg extension and open the RAR archive. Be sure to remove the existent files from the V10 fix also, before copying this). Let me know if is working. :) PS: This only fixes the FOG in 2D mode, nothing else is touched.

Pretty sure being on windows 8.1 can't be helping. I suspect that update is hardcoded in the OS by default. I hate to sound like a broken record, but not having that update installed was by far the primary factor in me getting a stable game with shaders not breaking. I'd strongly suggest at least dual booting to windows 7 for this game. I find it interesting that windows 10 is a free upgrade. I wonder is Microsoft are once again continuing the trend of one good OS for one bad ;) Really windows 7 is not that hard to come by. I am the systems admin at work and for technical reasons with some of the specialized software we use windows 8 is not an option. I'm still finding most suppliers (even locally) stock OEM versions of 7 pro, with no end in sight.....

I think the fix has gotten less stable, I loaded my game in 2D when it was ready I pressed CTRL T to enable 3D and it CTD. Latest v10 fix, Flugans v2 wrapper and no overlays :(

Latest fix version is V11. It was pushed 10 hours ago or so. It has the SLI fog correction. @Black_Hat: - Does that happen every single time you try ? 100% reproducible ? If it does something is wrong with the fix + wrapper. But from experience I think it only happened once. So what do you want us to do?:)) If you read this thread 62 pages long now you will see all of us get some weird crashes here and there with a 10 to none % reproduction rate... The game engine is unstable... Nothing we can do about it really... If it does happen every time you try it then we might be able to investigate what the issue is.
