Ok I just bought the ASUS VG278H monitor for larger screen and Nvidia 2 with Lightboost from Newegg as an upgrade to the 23" Alienware Optx. When I watch blu-ray or DVD movies it's crystal clear. When I game in 3D or 2D mode it's crystal clear.
What I am experiencing is during Netflix streaming or YouTube streaming the dark black parts of scenes seem like it's washed out, kind of like a blur, the picture is very poor. Is this the result of this black light bleeding? Happens when scenery on the screen is dark or dark to light changes.
I've tried multiple settings to see if anything would change this or diminish it to no avail. I followed some advice from a tech site.
Contrast to 60
Blue to 85
Brightness to 40.
Tracefree to 60.
All the Splendid presets do not improve it one bit.
Anyone give some advice? Which settings do I turn down to show me the black light quality on the monitor?
My spouse wanted to view this video she heard about and the dark background showed all these flaws and I thought it was just poor video quality from the source even though it was 1080p. It can't be my premium cable internet speed service I pay to have the highest bandwidth COX offers. Then I started to see it in Netflix streams, even on newer movie titles. When I watch it in smaller screens it's not so prominent but when it's full screen it varies bad to horrible.

I just purcased Asus VG278H here in Norway. I used UDPIXEL, turned my brightness and contrast all full, I did not see this oval shape lightbleeding thing on my monitor. All nice and black /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> You got me a bit of worried for a moment here /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I had an 24" monitor before, and have to say; 27" is just perfect for 1080p when come to read and surf the internet. The text on screen is just perfect. On the 24" monitor I had before, I had to size up the text size, so I could read it clearly without hazel. I do not need to do it here on this 27" monitor. Thats the first thing I noticed. But on the other side, it's just so big. I'm looking forward to play an game to see how it is /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

if your emitter does not work unplug all cables and power then hold down the power button 30 seconds
plug in the power only and switch it on then add your other cables 3d emitter works now
(this method does a reset of the internal hardware)
i had this with several screens (had to rma) the quality assurance of asus in non existant and they dont care
the issue is well known for over a year and still exists, this plus horrible backlight problems on some units and they did not change a thing! DONT BUY ASUS PRODUCTS!

Well same bleeding here too, from top and bottom (i feel sorry for asus no more respect from me anymore to asus monitors). Thought i have 3 year exchange warranty :) so i'll do it like that i'll wait for 2,5 years and then i'll create RMA and exchange it to better monitor on the market. :)
