Neverwinter (2013 mmo)
  1 / 4
Not perfect in 3D, but still looks good in my opinion. The main problem is too much 2D text. There are menu options to disable some 2D text, but in a mmo, text is often important to read. 2D crosshair needs to be disabled. I will look into that. One good thing about Neverwinter is, unlike most mmo's, combat is action style. In combat, only a small number of special attacks/defends/powers are available, which means no need to stare at buttons while they cooldown. You can look at the battle, and occasionally glance at your healthbar. 3D screenshots.
Why play it in DX9?
DX11 crashed on me while inside a particular building or dungeon. I do not recall the name. Maybe it was a foundry mission. I play in dx9 because it's 100% stable. Surprisingly, my frame rate is the same in dx9 and dx11. Why play in dx11? Another very odd thing ... my frame rate is the same or almost the same in 2D and 3D. There are some places where fps is only 18-25. But it's the same 18-25, in 2D or in 3D. I have no explanation.

Is it already released or in open beta now? And in that case, will there be a character wipe on release?

Technically, neverwinter is still in "open beta" ... but they are already accepting real money payments for in-game items. I highly doubt they will wipe all characters, especially characters of paying customers. wipe Non-paying players? I don't know.

Anyone up to seeing if they can make some fixes on this since its free-to-play? I am willing to risk my account to test it.

Someone tried to move hud into depth but it had issues for him. I could try but I dunno. Problem with mmo's its so much hud. Like push into depth 30%. You make hud bigger [Then depth increases it]. Now huds are filled to the brim in mmo's. So you run into issues. Like Dragon age has a bit of clipping cause its a bit hud heavy. Now a game like tera/this one. It gets wrecked from my experience. If its got a good UI customization. Maybe? It can work out. I mean I can download it but I can tell its gonna be a disaster. Finding crosshair by texture is a REAL hassle in mmo's. [Its got a billion hud textures. So I definetly wouldn't bother.]. i can rip a square from center of hud where it is. I get away with it in shooters but tbh not sure about this game. MMO's are real hud based. Texmod is probably the solution. Its ALOT easier to find textures. Did anyone try to use it to rip crosshair? @partol Sounds like your CPU is maxed out. Could be bad game optimization or just its maxed out. Couldnt say. I would bet money though if you drop your resolution FPS is gonna be the same.

Nvidia says it's 3D Vision Ready on their games page, make them do the work. It's also heavily biased towards p2w imo.

Well the page is "3D vision supported" But I can point at at least 5 on that page rated NOT RECOMMENDED/FAIR NVIDIA loves MMO'S put features on a game that draws 100+ characters/spells/buildings/objects [Not to mention optimization on MMO's]. Not sure why mmo's do business with them. It silly for a few bucks. They add all these features. People set to high/very high. Open beta comes around. Drivers suck, optimization isnt good. People lag....

Well I gave the game a try and the its really good so far, the 3d is top notch with barely any issues other than setting shadows to low, and increasing the convergence makes the crosshair look a lot more bearable to my surprise. Not at GW2 graphic level but pretty decent, and I prefer good old classic D&D setting over GW2 anyway, you can check a few screens of mine here: http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/birthright/album/51b3b2765ec3461f4c00013b/

Hopefully this works for everyone. Had issues with SWTOR. http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/eqzitara/image/51b4129c5ec346224b0001f1/ Hud cant be pushed into depth without issues. I ripped crosshairs. Rules are.. You can be banned[Never happened before but its not my problem if you are]. You don't ask developer for permission. You won't get it and you will piss them off followed by me. I really don't want to be harassed by a dev. You dont link to file unless its to this post. I want everyone to read rules. Install to LIVE folder. Shaderoverride->https://s3.amazonaws.com/eqznew/neverwinter/shaderoverride.zip If I missed a crosshair let me know and Ill either tell you how to fix/or do it. As far as I know there are only four. EDIT: I uploaded a new version that make it only remove crosshairs when 3D is enabled.

I gave it a try, the reticule is gone. But for some reason now (unrelated to fix) I get horrible halos around every player or npc that my reticule is on.

Thanks a lot eqzitara it works like a charm! I also turned off nameplates on characters and the game is almost 3d ready, only NPC names showing around when the mouse is over them but I can happily live with that. I see no halos anywhere though, I use a projector which has no ghosting, so maybe it's some kind of ghosting related to your monitor Kolreth.

Normally, I would try this no crosshair fix, but since I play both Neverwinter and Start Trek online, daily, from the same account, I prefer not to take chances. The in-game crosshair is tolerable, in my opinion. I did recently make a forum request to add a menu option to disable the in-game reticule/crosshair. Please add your support. nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?333142-Option-to-disable-crosshair By the way, I am using Creative Alchemy which adds a .dll file in the same folder as the exe. No problems for 2-3 weeks already. Reason I take a chance with Alchemy is because I had major sound problems with on-board sound. When there are too many in-game sounds, my on-board VIA sound starts to bug or drops some sounds.

Well things are not working that well with that fix after some testing, your own and enemy health show as always full, same with your level progress indicator, it looks full though it's not, shame. I will make a post in that thread Partol, good idea, lets hope we can get the devs add the remove crosshair option.
