3D Vision Not Working For Old Disc Game (Dark Void) Installed On New PC
I'm installing some old disc based games on a new computer with a GTX 1080 graphics card using the 375.63 driver. I recently reinstalled all my 90+ Steam games, and all the ones I tested work fine with 3D Vision. So I started installing old disc based games. Alice Madness Returns - no problems. Avatar - no problems. Then I installed one of my old favorites - Dark Void. The game works, but 3D Vision does not kick in. It didn't even show as having a profile on the first run. I tried using Nvidia Inspector to use the Prototype profile as recommended by Helixmod, but it didn't make a difference. Game ran great in 3D on my old computer. Any ideas for resolving this? I'd love to play through this game again in the near future but only if I can do it in 3D. Thanks!

I'm on 376.68 Win 7 and disc game, and it seems that things have changed here too.
Are you on Win 10 ? that could explain it !
Somehow I can't make it run in fullscreen anymore ??? 3D kicks in anyway and the game looks great...
Has anybody a clue regarding this ? (Unreal 3)
Prototype profile fixes some stereoscopic issues, but has nothing to do with 3D kicking in or not !

It's not working here on Windows 10/Steam version either... it's completely ignoring the Profile(or at least the Stereo portion of it)... at first I thought it might have something to do with the "dark void/" before the launcher.exe but even after removing it and making it the only Profile it wouldn't trigger 3D Vision...
Alt+Enter enables Fullscreen, when is 3D kicking in for you Blacksmith56? Is it at the Launcher or after, when the game starts?

How could I forget that.. Alt+Enter = fullscreen :)
3D kicks in the same second as the "Capcom screen" But it crashed at once, and now I'm back with the old issue..
As soon the emitter lits I hit the emitter button, and the game loads as it should, and after that just hits the button again, and every thing is fine..
I do hope you get it going, it's a nice 3D ready game, with all markers renders correct and the sight is dynamic.

And lots of ram and HD's ;)
I tried a bunch of things but it only worked after I installed Windows 7 Drivers(320.49 & 337.88)...
edit:oddly enough though... I'm not getting a crash when the game starts with 3D on
Also if you want to use PhysX in this game, you need to install the legacy PhysX drivers I think.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.13.0604-legacy-driver.html
Also, since you are using a disc, are there any updates available?

The PhysX downloads are the only updates I see available. Would installing these possibly fix the problem? I'll try this tomorrow. Thanks!
Blacksmith56, yes I'm using Windows 10 Pro.
Thanks everyone for your responses. Much appreciated.
Installing the PhysX driver would only fix it if it was crashing with PhysX enabled.
Perhaps for your 3D problem, try changing compatibility mode in the game properties.
That's if using alt+enter to put it in fullscreen, does not do the trick.
I tried the PhysX update and changed compatibility to Windows 7. Still no 3D. Oh well, at least I got to enjoy playing it in 3D years ago. A truly great game in 3D.

I'll have to give it a second go.
When I tried it, I played for a couple of minutes and couldn't shoot any of the enemies down.
So at the time I uninstalled it and figured I'd wait until I bought a joystick.
It will probably work great with the Wingman or Steam controller that I've bought since.
lol, what da duck.
I installed this and figured I'd try it on my 2D 4K first, so I could configure the Steam controller.
3D is "off" in the control panel and it's starts up in 3D Discover mode and showing Nvidia's overlay. So I tried enabling 3D, running the setup wizard and disabling 3D and it still does it. So I tried "restore defaults" in the NVCP and it still starts up in 3D. Ctrl+t, turns it off, but it shouldn't even be on. I tried some other games and 3D is not on in them, very weird. This is in windowed or fullscreen.
Maybe, I'll mess with it tomorrow and try to figure out what's going on.

Unreal 3 Engine had direct 3D support, and might be turned on. Look for the .ini file that has "AllowNvidiaStereo3d=True".

Pretty sure this is just a Windows 10 issue(borderless window?), it works fine on Windows 10 with earlier versions of Windows 7 Drivers that'll let you install them(worked fine on 320.49 & 337.88)... more recent ones won't, I tried as far back as 364.51, which doesn't let you install it, and as far forward as 337.88, which does.
It's ignoring the Stereo part of the Profile, Forcing V-Sync on/off in the Profile works in-game... some games won't appear to trigger 3D Vision but pressing Ctrl+T will cause a little stutter, this isn't the case with this game, it doesn't do anything.
I tried bunch of stuff, including adding AllowNvidiaStereo3d=True to the ini because it doesn't exist... there was Stereo=True but I'd have to reinstall Win7 Drivers to see if setting that to False would disable it... I tried a couple versions of HelixMod which made it lock up, Chiri's Force 3D/Res, which did something weird(zoomed in to a upper left hand portion(1/4?) of the screen) but never made it trigger 3D Vision, adding the StereoProfile flag to the Base Profile... to name a few.
@D-Man11:Lol... now you know how those people who come here looking for help when they have 3D disabled and it's still being all sorts of wonky on them feel... :)

That was one of the first things I tried, but it's not in any of the cofig files located in the game folder or save folder. It is Unreal 3, but it's not there for some reason
@TsaebehT
You might be onto something there adding it in might do something.
FWIW, Stereo=False, did not turn it off, I saw that and tried it.
Tomorrow, I'll watch the registry settings and see if the are changing with the check box when enabled/disabled, but I'm sure it is because other games are not working.
It might have something to do with "Launcher.exe", because it runs everytime the game is launched and stays open in processes. I'll have a look at associated profiles or perhaps import the Dark Void profile without any others.
