Every time I reboot settings default to 3D Vision Discover!

Otherwise I can script something to stop and start the Service. There's also a Recovery tab with options like restart or run another program but I don't think it's actually reporting anything as a failure.

I tried before to set the startup type to Automatic Delayed, but got an error dialog stating the following, The delayed auto-start flag could not be set. Error87: The parameter is incorrect.

Not sure I didn't try it myself, does the start/stop work for you? Probably already tried that as well ... it's been so long, we're starting to go around in circles. Lol. :)

Welcome to the club, guys :p. Since I bought my BenQ XL2411Z and 3D Vision 2 kit in March last year, I always have to unplug and replug the emitter after every reboot, but only if the monitor switched to 3D in the last session.

Apparently there are two different problems, one is when you see "3D Vision Discover" instead of your monitor, and another is when you just see no option because is as if you had your emitter unpluged. I have both problems, sometimes I have only to enter in the CP to change from Discover to my monitor (1st problem), and when I have the 2nd problem I must unplug/plug the usb cable of the emitter to have the option aviable.

Gladjag started a thread about this problem in 2013. With Tsaebeht's help Gladjag and I, along some others worked on this problem pretty hard. To summarize the results back then... 1. If you setup 3D with 3DVision and your 3D monitor selected, but don't actually run anything in 3D, then on the next boot everything is fine. 3. If last time you did run a 3DVision game, but prior to the next boot you unplug and then replug the 3D emitter everything is fine. Otherwise after boot we end up with 3D Vision Discover. As a workaround at Tsaebeht's suggestion I bought a USB hub with power switches so before each boot I can cycle power to the emitter. This saves wear and tear on the usb connector and is also more convenient than reaching around to the back of my computer. Tsaebeht, I don't recall doing a start/stop on the 3D Service (is that what you mean?), but yes I do feel we're treading familiar ground.

This started happening to me too, I remembered something just now. Did any of you go to the 'Power Plan' settings (WIN 7 & 8) and select 'Turn power off to USB ports when not in use?" (something to that effect) I know there has been a lot of Windows Updates lately, patch Tuesday and 4 today. Maybe installing one of those reset/changed this option in the Power Plan settings? I'm gonna test this a little later, but it's a thought. ~Nutz

I've been using a 3d vision 2 kit for the past two years and I've had the same issue since day 1, on all driver versions since then. Every time i reboot i need to unplug the emitter so that it gets detected and then i have to run the 3d vision setup to get everything enabled. I have multiple operating systems installed on my pc and I have a separate install of windows just for gaming, so every time i want to play games i have to go through these shenanigans. I have 3 monitors and a 3d projector plugged in I use the projector for gaming. I've noticed that if i only have one monitor enabled when windows boots up everything works, if not i have to unlplug the emitter and run the wizard.

I'm curious does any one that has to reseat their USB emitter have the issue with the 3D Vision 1 emitter, not a 3D Vision 2 emitter? I just remember at one point only people with 3D Vision 2 kit emitters seemed to be having the issue.

Hi All I have fixed this problem for myself. As a bit of a backstory, I ran the Nvidia 3D stuff awesomely (with my chic black 3D Vision sunnies) for a couple of years when i first got my laptop, toshiba qosmio x870. it wasn't until i started plugging my *huge* tv into the laptop that i *discovered* the crapness of nvidia 3d discover. From that point on, discover became my default setting for all 3d games, much to my annoyance. I tried many approaches to fix the issue, including using the [win button+P] as mentioned on this thread previously through to doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of nvidia drivers but none of it worked. After months of fiddling, what worked for me was inspired by one of the previous posts on this thread relating to bios changes, specifically around the functionality of USB ports. So i delved into my bios and changed two settings. Unfortunately i cant paste the screenshots here, however i have listed the details below and hopefully others can find similar things to change, or workarounds. Lastly, Nvidia need to address this lack of ability to make advanced changes and tweaks to our display settings and configurations within the nvidia control panel / windows. Bios: InsydeH20 Setup Utility v6.02 --- Menu Options along the top [Main / Security / Power Management / Advanced / Boot / Exit] Under [Advanced] Change "USB Power in Sleep Mode" to Disabled Also from this screen go down to the last item ">System Configuration" Once in here change the setting "Power On Display" to System LCD Only I am assuming that changing the above setting tells the system to start using only the native display and driver settings rather than thinking there may be multiple monitors , settings , etc which is when it decides that discover is the better universal option... Anyway, hope this helps some of the others out there... Today, Nvidia Discover discovered... nothing...

I have Samsung 2233RZ monitor + Acer H5360 Proyector using Windows 7 64bits, and nomatter what driver I use I have this problem, plus a 2nd problem (it appears randomly very often) that forces me to unplug and plug the usb cable to have any option aviable instead of a ghost option. Of course both problems occurs when I reboot the computer, and once I have solved I have no problem until I reboot again. Problems don't happen always, but very often, more than 60% of times. One reason that has lead me to prevent buying a monitor with integrated emitter is this reason, because if I have the ghosting option problem in that monitor I have literally no way to solve it (I suppose). Anyway these problems are a very clear example of what is a product not well supported and not finished, and maybe with more entusiam the driver could be much better, and maybe games with much better support. Maybe everything could be much better and Nvidia is only doing nothing about all things related with 3D. This problem is totally unaceptable, specially after 4 years and without any comment by administrators.
