important 3DTV Play/3D Vision question resolution related
  2 / 2
They have boards supporting 2.0 bandwidth just fine (though not other sections like 25fps 3D or chroma subsampling); it's specifically the 3D modes that remain crippled. The specification I refer to is the 3D portion of 1.4a, downloadable at hdmi.org after registration; I expect the new part in 1.4b (which does not appear publicly accessible) is simply a specific recommended mode for normal frame rate 1080p.

WTF are nvidia doing by not changing this limitation? haven't they tried gaming on a 3D TV or 3D projector as of late? I'm sure someone might have noticed it and pointed it out! 'hey wait a sec guys, we left the 3dtv limitation in making it look like it's from 2004 instead of 2014!' My phone has a higher resolution than your 'way its meant to be played' 3D gaming resolutions for a projector/TV! You would sell more graphic cards too! (incentive) Sort it out!

such bullshit. I love my Panasonic VT25 plasma, purchased in 2010. I bought it, along with a GTX 580 with the intent of using 3dTV play. It was advertised as being the best with 3DTV play. Guess I should've read the fine print because this is WORTHLESS, and had been since the day I bought it!! 1080p24? That is a damn joke and they know it. I just bought a 970, and I love it too. Guess what? Still not playing anything in 3D on my $2,000 television, because I can't get 6 FRAMES more (24->30) to make it PLAYABLE. Is there not a moderator or anyone who can explain this? It really sucks to spend that much money and not even get any use out of it. 720p looks like garbage in 3d, and 24hz is unplayable. Sad, coming from a company I like, that they release a broken product like this and don't support it.

The Words wrote on page 1st: "Another thread mentioned a limitation of the HDMI 1.4 spec, and I'd suspect it's the cause. They mentioned that the HDMI 1.4 spec allows for 'framepacking' 3D (which is full-res 3d) at 720p @ 60Hz, or 1080p @ 24Hz. They mentioned this is due to the bandwidth limitations." This is bullshit! It is not the bandwidth limitations! Hey guys,I just want to say: your PC connect to a 3D TV or 3D projector via HDMI,you can playing 3D game at 1080p @ 60 Hz!
