Silent Hunter 3 & Stereo
Anyone manage to get this game running in stereo?

Any profiles? Any special settings or tweaks?

Thanks in advance,
Chopper

If someone knows please post. The better I find with this game is an immediate CTD when trying to activate stereo...

I haven't played this game since I had my 6800gt but I reinstalled it to see if it was still working with my bliss and the 91.31 drivers and I was just amazed at how much better in 3D it was then with my old card. The only problem I ever had with Silent Hunter 3 was the periscope didn't work with my old card I haven't checked yet to see if the problem is still there. I'm using 91.31 drivers with AA @4x
AF@16x everything else maxed out, except triple buffering is off.
I never got past training on this one, I might play it for a while but it sure seems like a complicated game. Hope you guy's get it working, it looks great with the 91.31 drivers.

This biggest problem I have are the instruments at the bottom of the screen. They limit how far I can go with separation and convergence, and there isn't a lot of consistency between stations (e.g. map station has different separation profile than command and periscope stations).

Were you able to get the NVIDIA lasersight to work? That would really help.

Sorry it has taken so long to reply, I forgot about the control dials, when I first turn the driver on, they are missing; however I can adjust it with ctrl f4 without loosing 3D. I was unable to correct it, without loosing 3D, with my old card and the 78.01 drivers. This also fixes the periscope for me. No luck with the laser site here yet.

I think I figured out how to do it.

The convergence controls work in the end. I had to hit CTRL-F6 more than CTRL-F5.

The lasersight is no longer needed because I'm able to get the cross-hairs to sync up.

It's a complicated game, but it may just be worth it.

It is a pity that the menus at bad depth limit the convergence value, because with a good convergence you feel like you are really inside a close space as an U-boot. But bad z-index of menus keeps convergence to minimums...

I wonder if some mod could change z-index of menus...what do you think?

EDIT: Really someone has fixed the different consistency between stations? It makes hard (impossible) to play with this difference. DIals are impossible to use, except for one or two stations... I use 5900XT with 91.47, maybe a different hardware could do the trick?
