Nvidia 3D Vision/3DTV Bluray doesn't work in PowerDVD17 Windows 10 1709 Fall Creators 387.92
  1 / 4
When trying to watch Bluray movies in 3D with PowerDVD17 with the new windows the 3D nvidia mode is going into loop 3D - 2D -3D -2D and you can only quit from it by doing CTRL + ALT + DEL and Sign off . or else the pc will keep blinking black every couple seconds and you can't really do anything. the sound of the movie actually being played for one second after the first CTRL + ALT + DEL . there is no crash or anything, the TV is just looping from 2D to 3D and back non stop. the TV screen stays black. Other 3D modes works fine like Row Interleaved with no issue at all , only Nvidia 3DTV/3Dvision are having issues. Didn't have issues with 3D like this before the 1709 Fall Creators. PowerDVD17 release a new patch 2101 to fix compability support for 1709 version. The only thing left to fix is Nvidia, there is another bug now that doesn't work which can't play 3DTV 3D Bluray movies at all. Please fix it. It was working perfectly fine before windows update.

No problem here with PowerDVD 16 on Win10 1709 and 388.10 drivers but I'm not using a 3DTV, just a normal 3D Vision monitor set at 120hz.

Same problem. Everything was working properly for years using PowerDVD 14. I watched the last 3D movie one week ago. In the mean time I updated Windows 10 to FCU and updated the driver to 388.10. Now I get the same continuous resolution or refresh rate switching. Tried PowerDVD 17 too, same behaviour. Unfortunately I can't say for sure if it was the driver update, the Windows update or both.

I just bought and installed PowerDVD ultra 17 today for the first time. And I have this problem too. I updated a few days ago the fall creators update because of the requirement for Dolby headphone compatibility. When I set my Nvidia 3d stereoscopic resolution to 1080p@24hz and start a movie, the resolution keeps cycling and it won't start the movie, just endless loop. However, when I set it to 720p@60hz it works. But I am not planning on paying to watch movies in 720p... :) glad to see it is not an issue on my end alone. Hope to see an update very soon.

Experiencing the same problem, screen turning black and back again and again on 3d bluray playback. Tried fresh driver install and going back to older powerdvd versions with no luck.

I have a slightly different problem that only appears on my Laptop: On my Alienware M17x Laptop (see signature) which is a 3D Vision Ready certified laptop, after driver 385.41, I am missing the "Setup Stereo 3D" setting from Control Panel altogether:( This is on the Creators Update! (As I keep on postponing the Fall Creator Update).!

Good evening. I am very happy that I am not alone on this problem, having the same issue, and I bet it came from the newest windows update. I even reinstalled my system with completely fresh installation, and newest NVidia 388.13 version. I can check out the Nvidia 3dtvplay test, it works, when I want to watch a 3d movie in Power dvd 16 and Power DVD 17 it starting too loop with getting 2d 3d 2d 3d, and as mentioned the only option to stop this is ctrl alt del and log off from account. if I watch the same bluray on 2d it plays fine, when turning on 3d STARTS TO LEEP AND SOUND VIA hdmi cable isn't playing anymore. before windows newest build all worked fine. second thing what bothers me what I think came from the windows update again is with multi monitor setup. I have monitor and projector attached to my computer, but computer always thinks my projector is as primary display, I cant turn on my monitor if my projector isn't turned on, and when I turn on projector, monitor turns up as well, as I turn off projector, monitor turns as well, only way haw to make monitor work is if I unplug powered down projector. but still my primary concern is on 3dtv play, please do try to gather information on this issue because I cant live weekend evenings without a good 3D movie..
