There has not been a serious update to 3D driver functionality in the 3 years that I've owned the system (why can't I change the size of my projector screen without registry hacking batch files? why can't I hide 3d effects by default anymore? why on earth does enabling 3D on my 3D display mess up gaming & video on my 2D display? why can't I edit game profiles like every other 3D driver?) -Completely ignoring the innovations and implementation of standardized quad-buffered 3D in the opengl drivers and now directx with Windows 8. Instead, they are continuing to push their unsustainble and glitchy driver-hacking 3D method that requires you to buy into their ecosystem.

3D Vision has the best quality for 3D gaming, that's what I am saying. It also has the best support for games in 3D, which is much better than Trider for AMD 3D. SBS is inferior quality, only half resolution per eye, compared to frame sequential full resolution per eye. So, If 3D Vision has the best 3D quality for PC gaming and by far the best support for games, I guess we can say it's a better 3D solution, therefore superior to the competition.

My point is that they are doing nothing to continue to innovate and contribute to the avalanche of standardized stereoscopic products being produced by nearly every other manufacturer and game developer. nvidia's laughably short-sighted business strategy is unsustainable, bad for long-term business in the name of a cheap buck, and terrible for their consumers who put faith into them by buying their expensive products.

With these restrictions, I personally find SBS (960x1080@60hz) far better for playability.

Thank you Nvidia for the useless CB 3d mode addition in the 310.33 drivers. I have a 2010 Panasonic 3d plasma and a 2011 Samsung 3d LCD that don't use CB... WE NEED SBS 1080 3d please. DO it already!

I love NVidia products, I have a GTX670. I have bought 3dvision tv play and tridef aswell. I have a 3DTV, and I prefer SBS (960x1080@50hz), much better than frame packed 3d (1280x720@50hz). I think 3DVision should support SBS (960x1080@50hz) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What about a mode in which (L) eye image is output from one DVI or HDMI output and (R) eye image is output from a different DVI or HDMI connector? This would in principle allow two 1080p aligned projectors with simple polarizing filters to be aligned to give full 1080p 60hz display with relatively inexpensive glasses. -Baragon

I have my GTX 660 games PC plugged into a 40 inch LED TV in my living room, I doubt I'm the only one, what with the Playstation and Xbox being virtually antiques now. Avatar the Game looks sensational in 1080p side by side mode, but the Nvidia 3D 720p games looked nothing like as good, when I had the 3D Play trial. It's like a sad cloud hanging over my home entertainment system, that I have strived so hard to build :(

I agree, if Tridef adds support for Oculus Rift and Nvidia doesn't, it would be the last nail in the 3d vision coffin, Nvidia needs to react and add SBS

You could almost call me a nvidia fan boy. In the past 6 years I've have actively purchased nvidia products. I have recently purchased 2 Gtx Titans. However I'm starting to loose faith with the lack of support and options for 3D vision. The best 3D vision I've seen was a 3x projector setup with a curved screen and it looked amazing. Now you can not buy a new 3d projector that supports 3d vision. They all are 3dtv play instead. All I want is 3 new projectors that will work in 3d vision surround. Please!!!

gaming in 3D surround, I really don't care about sbs/tb support; still seeing there's still people addressing to Nvidia as if they still care about 3D vision customers and will actually do something decent to 3D vision~~" all they care about is to sell video cards and their certified displays. CB 3d support because there are certified Nvidia CB displays.

Nvidia is adding some kind of dual display support for 4K TVs. I'm not sure if that is what the rift needs, I haven't read up on it. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/541301/nvidia-surround/2d-surround-option-doesn-t-show-up-in-nvidia-control-panel/ If not maybe bug Josh, he got this implented for 4K users

Totally agree here. Nvidia drivers need to support SBS, especially now the Oculus Rift is going to be in so many hands.
