DOOM (2016) - 3D Vision Fix
  4 / 40
openGL isn't glide. in 1999 you would select one or the other for your hardware rendering. glide was exclusive to 3dFX, it didn't work on Riva, ATI, Matrox and such. with those you needed to use opengl. then nvidia bought 3dFX, and glide disappeared in favor of directX. all those who remember being wowed by the demo of the game Incoming raise hands? :D
Historically yes! The 3dfx Voodoo cards were different than OpenGL at THAT TIME! After Nvidia bought 3dfx they moved a lot of Glide to OpenGL (as they are part of Kronos group by the way). If you are familiar with both APIs you can clearly see this in some spots;) Current OpenGL has quite a lot inherited from Glide "behaviour" and design;) While is not a DIRECT successor, glide "lives" inside OpenGL now;)

damn i had forgot about voodoo ect. those where the days. you just installed drivers and you were good to go until new graphics card. Played a little Doom. Looked great and runned great on ultra. Firt thing that came into my mind was....." i wish this could be in 3D" and couple hours later.... "yes, Quite what i expected, great looking game with ultra booring content" If helifax get´s the wrapper made there is atleas some point to this game. Glory kill is super idiot design. Ammo run out so fast you kind of have to use that stupid repetive way to kill the enemie. And i gotta tell ya, my eyes are so blurry after that gunning through everything. one does not have any moment to apriace the graphics as the pacing is so fast. Don´t know about the dificulty of this game. i chose hurt me plenty, and in 2.5 hours i died like 1 time because of enemy.

I bought the new Wolfenstein which was fine, but I bought it because I saw the 3D patch. When I realized it was Open_gl I wondered how it was possible. it worked but there was some kind of visual lag that made movement and turning blurry to the point where I couldn't play it in 3D. The game was okay but if I knew it wouldn't work in 3D I could have easily passed it by. So if this game has a 3D fix for Open_gl I'll probably pass unless this game is so incredibly good I'd be crazy to pass it up. In the case of Wolfenstein I could have given it a pass. Right now I'm playing Borderlands 2 with my buddies... in 3D! and I'm in heaven when I am.

This game can run at 60fps per eye, so the frame sequential effect will be diminished by half. I played the Wolfenstein games in 2D because of the half fps loss and fast turns were uncomfortable.

Wolfenstein and Doom are still good games in 2D. No hassle for me to play themin 3D. At the moment I play Battlefield and Battlefront in 3D. It really gives a lot to the Frostbite Engine. But on the other hand I play CoD BO3 only in 2D, especially concerning the competitive aspect. Borderlands and Battleborn definitely profit from 3D and you are not disadvantaged because of their coop nature.

How big of difference is the delay between left and right frame ? Is the difference time bigger when capped@30 fps or something between ?

I can't see any lag but then again, I don't have a high affinity to motion sickness... You seem to be a "lag detector" :)))

Here's the Khronos page for Compute Shader https://www.opengl.org/wiki/Compute_Shader#Dispatch I know that you said that the game required OpenGL 4.3 but I figured you'd be interested in the following :) I updated my OpenGL Extensions Viewer (GLview) and see that Nvidia is still not supporting Shading language version 4.5 But I see a new one listed ARB 2015, these were introduced with 355.97 https://developer.nvidia.com/opengl-driver

Wow, that looks fantastic! It looks to me like perhaps motion blur is stronger on the right hand side image - is that the case?
