Ok, i got home. Here is the conversation.
Yes, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX Titan graphics card supports 2D and 3D vision surround please click on the below link and find the specifications of the GTX Titan graphics card.
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/3dvision-surround
Each Titan graphics card is designed to support 4 display and hence it will support 3 display in 2D and 3D surround.
You can connect the first 2 display to DVI port on graphics card and 3rd display to the Display port.

thanks for sharing...but I don't think the answer brings us to the bottom of it yet. since the tech support didn't say that displayport is capable of doing 3D surround.
check this out:

I think you need to know whether 300 drivers (the latest is 320.00) enable displayport to do 3D Surround.

He clearly says that it will support 3D surround and that i can connect the first 2 displays to the DVI port and the 3rd on the Display Port. As for the drivers it says there that starting with version 290 it supports 3d on dp. So yeah, i think it will work.

if the tech explicitly states that 2 DL-DVIs + 1 DP will support 3D surround, then that's fine (I only see the statement that one Titan supports both 2d and 3d surround, which is a known fact from the beginning)
I just want to point out that DP's supporting 3D is different from its supporting 3D Surround.

I understand now what you are saying. It would be lovely if you could do a little research on this as i am doing too, but hell, why not be effective? It would really help me.

At this point, the only way of knowing for sure is trying it. As none of us have tried it...you may be best off going by the nVidia 3d surround guide and trying with an adapter - or going by nVidia's support and trying without.

??? what??? without my "research," you'd be just trusting whatever the Nvidia tech support said.
hell, just forget whatever I wrote, go ahead and do your single Titan 3D Surround.

Let's not fight.
I wasn't aware of the DP doing 3d vs 3d surround thing so that's why i trusted the nvidia tech support.
Really no need to get angry or end the problem like a baby ("hell, just forget whatever i wrote").
What i meant is that i am looking into this problem and i am asking you to look into it too, if you will, just so we could end this problem once and for all and also help others having this question.
Ps: I reopened the question and i am currently waiting for an answer.

290 drivers do not apply to Nvidia 6XX GPUs or the Titan.
Starting with the launch of the GeForce 301.10 driver and the 6XX GPUs, users are now able to run 3 monitors in surround plus an accessory display via a single 6XX GPU. The Titan also supports it.
http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/nvidia-geforce-gtx-680-r300-drivers-released
But I did look in the surround article Nvidia released and it does say
"In 3D Vision Surround, any monitor connected to the DisplayPort output must use a DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter so that all three monitors are using Dual-Link DVI. Adapters are available from the NVIDIA Store, Club 3D, and other e-tailers. In future drivers, owners of BenQ’s XL2420T and XL2420TX 3D Vision monitors will be able to use the two DVI connectors and the DisplayPort connector without needing the DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter, as the BenQ monitors feature built-in DisplayPort 3D Vision technology."

Hello Radu Matei Birle,
Thank you for the email.
With the drivers below R 290 versions, the Display port connectivity even with any adapter is not supported for surround. As the newer cards do not have three DVI ports, its preferable to use the drivers above R290 series and use the Display port to Dual Link DVI connectors to get surround.
Yes, the latest driver do allow 3D Vision using the Display port to Dual link DVI.
Please feel free to contact us for any future queries and clarifications. We are more than happy to assist you.
Best regards,
NVIDIA Customer Care.

Hello again!
Sorry for reopening this question but i do want to ask you one more. It says here ( http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3064/~/does-nvidia-support-3d-vision-over-displayport-1.1-with-benq-3d-vision-monitors%3F ) that NVIDIA supports 3D Vision over DisplayPort 1.1 starting with the 290 drivers. Lower on that page it says that these drivers won't allow 3D Vision Surround via DP.
What i want to know is if the latest drivers allow 3D Vision Surround via DP. If not, would a DP to DL-DVI adapter do the trick?
290 drivers do not apply to Nvidia 6XX GPUs or the Titan.
First off, if you were contacting Nvidia about "Titan" support, they should have told you that the 290 drivers would not even work with that GPU.
Keep in mind that Titan was not even released when those drivers were written, so they are not applicable.
It is not possible to use a driver that was released prior to the GPU being released.
For what it's worth, I've tried using 2 x DVI-D and 1 DP (via a Starlink DP2DVID2 adapter) setup on the primary card in my Titan-SLI setup (with 3 x Asus VG278HE), and the Nvidia Control Panel would not allow Surround mode to be enabled. It insisted that I use the 2 x DVI-D connectors on the first card and a DVI-D on the second card, with text at the bottom saying the monitor on the DP connection 'will not be used'.
Of course, things might be different if you only have the one Titan. The only reason I tried it with my SLI setup was in an attempt to workaround the longstanding unresolved Windows 8 issue.

Just a quick comment to say that I bought the same setup that the OP is looking at (i.e. 3x Asus vg248qe & single titan (evga sc in my case), 3d vision 2 emitter and glasses).
I'm *NOT* using an adapter to convert from DP to DL-DVI, but am using DP natively. From my research prior to buying, it is possible to use an active DP to DL-DVI dongle, but only one that is designed to carry a 120Hz signal. Most don't. I can't remember the term used by the manufacturers to describe this. I paid the extra to get the Asus vg248eq over the benq xl2411t, to get native DP support on the monitor and avoid any potential issues with using adapters. My past experience of active dongles hasn't always been positive, so I'd rather avoid them, especially when paying so much.
3d vision surround works though I haven't tested it much. The performance hit is quite significant. I use it primarily for driving simulators, so response time and high, smooth frame rates are more important to me. Prior to buying, I had been expecting to use 3d (as I had previously on a 720p projector), but instead I now use 120Hz in lightboost mode for driving. Be sure to check out zero motion blur on www.blurbusters.com if you haven't already.
I might experiment more and get 3d working acceptably if possible, as it can add significantly to the immersion when the monitors are placed correctly, and other cars and the track appear life-sized.
Hope this helps.

Really? Thank you very much, this helped me a lot! I know about the performance hit and i am willing to lower the detail settings in order to keep frame rate at a minimum of 100fps.
Thank you again good sir! Know i am sure it works and i am not spending money on some s**t

3D Surround requires 3 Dual Link DVI Connections all the time. The spec was written some 2 years ago. I still own the first GPU to officially support 3D Surround (which is a GTX 590) and the single card to have 3 DL-DVI connectors! At the time 3D Vision was not working on one monitor via Display Port (which was later rectified) On every article dating back to 2009-2010, all of them say the same thing. 3 DL-DVI connections are required, which make sense: you need the exact same timings, frequencies etc on all 3 monitor to synch both between them but also with the emitter & glasses. The tech between DL-DVI and Display Port is a bit different if you look in the data-sheets and this is the reason you need a common ground. The next requirement for future will probably be 3 Display ports:))
Hope this sheds some light into the matter:)
