Projector beam interfering with infra-red emitter?
Hi guys. So I have been having some pretty serious flickering issues with the glasses when I use my projector.
Now let me paint you a picture

This is my setup at home. The top half is the living room with the acer H5360 projector and the below part is the kitchen/computer corner. There is a big doorway that separates both rooms, and the projector screen covers when it is in use.
Now after some experimenting with the emitter at the computer - the viewable distance to my monitor is quite massive and has ZERO flickering with my glasses. Up close or further away, and even at different emitter heights as well (emitter on the ground and me standing, etc) it works perfectly.
However when i move the emitter to sit on the coffee table in the living room I will get flickering and this will happen probably once every 5 secs or so. Which is bearable, but very annoying.
I've tried positioning the emitter into several different places in the living room, and it still happens, even when i believe the light from the projector isnt going anywhere near the emitter.
Some other points to know:
The cable setup is identical in both rooms. I have a USB extender cable that is permanently plugged into the emitter so i can easily move it from one room to the other and my projector is on a little stand thats about 40cm off the ground.
My theory is that somehow the light from the projector is interfering with the infra-red and causing the flickering as both object kind of face each other. And it seems like the only variable in the equation.
Has anyone else with a projector had this issue? and what kind of distance to you have between yourself and the emitter?
