I found a area with a misaligned shader not sure if this is simply just and area that's been overlooked or was not able to be fixed. Screen below. The magical symbol on the floor is at screen depth. Its near the quest for the bandit camp near the first outpost in ferelden where you come across a mage who asks you to investigate a cave. Let me know if you need a save file to easily find this area and Ill see what I can do.

If that does not fix it (I fixed a couple of these) then post up a save game. It's a dead easy fix fortunately.

Thanks for this. Try the v4 fix. If that does not fix it (I fixed a couple of these) then post up a save game. It's a dead easy fix fortunately.

Thank god we have you guys, we woulden't know where to start in fixing it. You are true heroes. Also i noticed that this v4 patch had "GameTime.MaxVariableFps 120" in the User.cfg as oposed to the previous versions where it was "60". Just wondering if it's intended as the in-game display is set to 1080p 60 hz.

Ah, good catch - this is me. I actually do not think it makes any difference, this is an FPS setting, not refresh rate. I was comparing 2D and 3D so set this to 120 and did not put it back. Given that the game is so demanding, setting to 60 might help, but I did not find that to be the case.

Thanks so much for fixing this one. The game is such great fun in 3D, it's just absolutely incredible. I'm alternating between gasping with open mouth at the sheer beauty of the experience and not being able to wipe that ridiculously happy grin off my face :D

I actually have found v4 is quite a bit worse in some places and the glyph issue I mentioned is still there to boot, I am also finding the fix disables itself from time to time while you are running around. (I think this was a factor previously but seems more pronounced now) I think Ill go back to v3 for now but will update this post with screens and a save file shortly.. *edit* updated with screen and save file in area of glyph issue (rename to .DAS)

Switching to 344.65 and back, trying everithing but the game in 3D was still broken. Last thing i have tryed is to set INGAME Refresh-Rate to 120 and NOW IT IS WORKING AGAIN !! Seems that the "GameTime.MaxVariableFps 120" has to be the value you set in game, otherwise the fix did not work correctly. I Have spend a lot of time to find out what it the problem with the actual fix...
Switching to 344.65 and back, trying everithing but the game in 3D was still broken. Last thing i have tryed is to set INGAME Refresh-Rate to 120 and NOW IT IS WORKING AGAIN !!

Seems that the "GameTime.MaxVariableFps 120" has to be the value you set in game, otherwise the fix did not work correctly.

Ähm, i realy often crash the game traveling between areas every second time, so this is normal?

Yes its normal, its the basic problem with the game at this time and is up to Nvidia/bioware to fix. I am finding sometimes on area transitions I have to switch off 3d completely in the Nvpanel

(Based on the attached screenshot). Glyphs = are those where you need veilfire and give you runes on finding them:)

Wait... that is not a glyph... that is a decal...which either is not fixed or most likely the shader attached for it didn't load/kick in. (Based on the attached screenshot).

ah yes sorry, my bad I did mean decal. (symbol). In v4 in that area the reflections or something are now broken as well as are back at base in haven

IT DOESN'T HAVE anything to do with the refresh rate. It just controls how MUCH fps the engine will render. The reason I capped it is to prevent the engine to CRASH in certain locations. As you can see, the engine still crashes in loading screens. Why? Because it is ignored in loading screens. If you leave the FPS counter up you will see the renderer getting high to 200 fps then dips to 30-ish and then crashes to desktop. It is taken into account in the actual game however and thus you don't crash even if you play 6 hours straight in an area no matter how many transitions you have between gameplay and cinematics.
