Hello, what do you mean by "software version of the emitter"?

EDIT: I found the 3DV emitter emulator, but I should test it. I mean, can I use the glasses using the emulator (and the true emitter plugged too)? I doubt it, and without the true emitter plugged, it is not possible to use the glasses, so how to check the drivers with the emulator, if the problem is about sync with the glasses? Honestly, the only thing viable I see, is not to install these drivers under any concept. Period

...and for next releases, to wait until others willing to be guinea-pigs, test them. Sad. But I wonder what developers would do if nobody would like to make the beta-test of their software /ermm.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ermm:' /> ?

BTW, andrew, I unplugged the second monitor, restarted and reinstalled drivers 1.45 and later 270.51 it has not solved anything. I even have plugged the samsung 2233RZ in the other GPU connector, but nothing changes. Of course the GPU is installed in the first PCIex 16 slot.

Do you have some help, please?! Now I can't use 3D Vision anymore...

Try this, it's a software emulator that someone made. It replicates having the 3D Vision emitter plugged in for people that have DLP tv's and 3D Vision play.

(Link PMed to you instead)

I've used it and it works very well. And it would be better than bricking your real emitter with a bad firmware update.

I'm having issues with certain games not working with 3D Vision. I'm posting in this thread because I am using this driver, however I had already installed this driver version before purchasing the 3D Kit, so I don't know if this driver specifically is causing the issues or not.

Some games work great with Stereo 3D mode at 1920x1080:
- AC2:Brotherhood
- Crysis 2 (except the fake 3D shenannigans, for which I think nvidia should code their driver to override & force true stereo)
- Borderlands

But when I try to play other games, such as:
- Just Cause 2
- Bad Company 2
- Homefront
- Crysis 1 DX10

When selecting 1920x1080, these games stick to 60hz mode instead of 120hz, and so the glasses will not shutter at such a low frequency (the 3D effect itself is working at 60hz, but I get the error that says non-supported stereo mode, and glasses do no shutter)
In the case of Bad Company 2, in the graphics selection screen when selecting the refresh rate, they are all listed as RefreshRate-1hz, e.g. 59hz, 119hz etc, and I'm pretty sure that upon selecting 119hz, it only runs at 60hz. Regardless, it doesn't work.

To make things even more confusing, in Just Cause 2 and Homefront, I am able to select a lower resolution and 3D Vision DOES WORK. (But blurry due to non-native resolution)

In the nvidia stereo control panel, I have tried the "Force this refresh rate for all games" to 1920x1080@120hz (by clicking the Test Stereoscopic 3D button) yet the games I listed still only launch at 60hz!

This is driving me nuts as I just purchased this kit and really want to get my money's worth!

Any and all help would be appreciated, thanks!

Thank you. Although I think that is a good thing to test new drivers, except, for testing sync performance, as this is an amulator and can't turn on the nvidia glasses (maybe for other glasses commanded by the 3DTV or projector is possible), so there is always the possibility that the driver goes apparently well, and when you try it in the real emitter you discover that it had sync issues... Although it is good if you have another type of glasses that don't need the nvidia usb emitter IR signal.

I'll keep it anyway, for the future. thank you!

So, andrew, there is no hope for me/us? Do you have an idea if the new version will come in few weeks or if we should "wait" for months? If I knew that, it would help me to decide the next step.

Andrew,

Drivers seem to work fine for me, no major issues yet. As others have mentioned I'd really like to see the separation on screen display use the percentage instead of a bunch of bars.

I do have to say performance on GTX 280s suffers big time with the newer 200.xx drivers. I did an upgrade from the 190.xx and had ZERO problems with playing two instances of Eve running at one time. When I upgraded to the 259.xx and 260.xx drivers both instances would LAAAAAAAG big time. Then when I tried these new 270 drivers I can't even open a 2nd window anymore. Performance in other games is terrible as well.

I have many friends that feel the GTX200 series cards are suffering major performance hits with the new drivers. I think it may be about time to separate the GTX400 and GTX500 series drivers from the GTX200 series, unless it is nVidia's goal to add a bit of "performance drag" to make people buy newer cards... :(

I'm downgrading back to the 190's.

Also, when exiting S3D application, desktop stays at full brightness (as if when using S3D).

With older version, 267.24 all is OK.

I use FRAPS to fix this problem. I just open FRAPS and it brings the monitor's brightness down to normal. This works for me but I'm not sure if it will work for you.

This might have been fixed in the latest patch though.

Andrew are you guys planning to support Final fantasy 14 in windowed mode? i would really love if this could be done as its an mmo and i like having other things open at the same time.

Window mode currently only supprots DirectX 9 games. we will add DX10/11 over time.

Hi Andrew just to clarify, FFXIV is a DX9 title and does work with 3D Vision in more recent drivers with the following results:

1) Fullscreen/SLI OFF: 3D Vision ENABLED
2) Fullscreen/SLI ON: 3D Vision ENABLED
3) Windowed/SLI OFF: 3D Vision ENABLED
4) Windowed/SLI ON: 3D Vision DISABLED*

Based on discussions with you, 3D Vision support for games running in Windowed mode with SLI ON is a known limitation and will be fixed in an upcoming driver release. Tested again with the latest 270.61 WHQL drivers.

Hi

That looks correct based upon the functionality that we currently do not support SLI with Window Mode.
