Just recieved my new ASUS VG278 display with the 3D Vision2 glasses...ran set-up with wizard for 3D (using Nvidia 680) and demo's ran in 3D, started up Skyrim and emitter turned on and game ran in 3D fine. Exited the game, came back later to play...game started in 3D, glasses were turned on...BUT Emitter will not come on. Tested/set-up again thru control panel and works fine...but emitter will not turn-on for any game.
Is there a key to press or a swithc I am missing here? Shouldn't the emitter turn-on when the game starts. I can swithc between modes with the CRTL+T keys. but no emitter starts up.
Please help.

Thx for the link, but not having that issue...no error message on this one.
I trtied again after rebooting last night and was able to get it started when running Batman, but not Skyrim.
Maybe its game related..have to try some other games to see.
Check your NVIDIA control panel and the 3D settings. Make sure the "Select when the display is in 3D mode" is set to "Only while 3D programs run" or possibly "Always".
Also, try plugging the emitter into a different USB port.

Was using the latest Beta drivers, so reinstalled the latest certified drivers and was able to run Batman and Skyrim (serious issues with that game in 3D).
Came back to it today and nothing works. The emitter never starts up with any game launched, not even with the wizard in the control panel, and no warning if the OSD.
Have reset the OSD with no luck. I do have 2 other ASUS displays hooked up to the 680 card, and both top out at 60hz, not sure if this is an issue since they go blank
when I launch the game anyway.
What drivers is everyone using that gets theirs to work correctly? I can still return if needed...don't think I should have to buy another emitter to get this to work.
Seems like a driver issue with Nvidia. If I install new/old drivers..seems to work...but only at that moment. Come back the next day and zip.
Hopefully someone can figure this out..or back to the Egg it goes (pity)..really like Batman in 3D.

Have to ask...would it matter if the Nvidia drivers are installed on the C:\ drive and all my games are on a seperate drive (D:\)?
Also, which drivers are working best for everyone? I am using latest certified ones, and I have to reinstall everytime I want to
play in 3D just to get the emitter to turn on.
Also, on the Nvidia control panel, the option to "select when the display is in 3D mode" is grayed out for me.
Is this normal or something that happens with this new monitor and glasses only?
Try unplugging the other monitors from your computer and reboot. NVIDIA's drivers aren't always real good at detecting which monitor is which. If that solves the issue then we can figure out how to get the other monitors back in without messing up the 3D every time you boot.
Skyrim doesn't look good out of the box - especially with that new grass shadow shortcut they did. Go to Skyrim Nexus (skyrim.nexusmods.com) and look up the 3D Vision mod and follow the link to the HeliX mod. Get that installed and the game becomes FAR better.

Looks like it is all driver related. Went back to the 301.10 from current drivers and things seem to work better.
Every game I launch seems to start up the emitter and shuts down when I close the game. So guessing the current
certified drivers are not so good for the 3D.
Now I just have to decise if its worth it. Was a high price just to play a couple compatible games in 3D.

Skyrim (serious issues with that game in 3D[/quote]
This was the case for me when I first tried Skyrim, but then I found out about Helix: http://helixmod.blogspot.ca/2012/03/elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-3d-vision-all-in.html - this fixes up all of the nasty bits and Skyrim is now something I refuse to play in 2D.
If you encounter the following problem on your 120Hz monitor VG278 with 3D Vision: built in 3D IR emitter not starting (green led light does not lit)
Do try this odd but possible solution (that worked for me): while your PC is turned on, keep the DVI-cable connected with your monitor, but disconnect the powercable of your monitor for about 20 seconds. Then connect the powercable to your monitor. Start the Nvidia testapp to test.
I stumbled upon this solution on another forum and since I was desperatly seeking for a solution, I gave it a try. And it worked. Thats why I wanted to post the solution here, to help out other desperate people. Hope it works for you too guys. Good luck.

It may or may not be relevant, due to it being an issue at release. Surely by now the cause would have been remedied.
You might also browse the forum there for that particular monitor.

@sac130e
If you can not get it to work and can not return it, you could buy the external emitter to use as a last resort.

Current drivers work fine, by the way. I'm guessing your settings got reset when you went backwards and fixed your problem.
