I currently have an 8800GT and while this meets minimum specs for 3D I know that I really need to upgrade. I was wondering what the recommendation for a new card would be if I wanted a nice step-up from my current card but not enter into bad price/performance ration territory. I like to stay around $200 on my vid card upgrades. Thanks.

Agreed. This technology is being enjoyed on mid-specced machines at the moment which is great for everyone. This should never be aimed at Elite systems IMHO. Bit like crysis.
I have x 2 8800 GT'S (SLI) and can honestly say that i dont have a problem playing ANY game with the 3D vision.
I think i got my 2nd card for around £70, so if your board is SLI , I would consider this as a cost effective and short / medium term soltion.
I would certainly not be paying out big bucks for a DX10 card right now with DX11 on the horizon.
Usually I don't bother with SLI and just go for new video cards so I limited my upgrade path 2 years ago when I bought an Abit P35PRo and an Nvidia 8800GT. The Abit motherboard doesn't support SLI only Crossfire. For the first time, I'm regretting that decision as the 8800GT has proven to be a fine card for me still but I suspect it won't be enough for 3D. So here I am thinking about a relatively early upgrade.

Im interested in buying the 3d vision and samsung 2233RZ bundle but have a few questions.
1. I am aware of the ghosting issues on this monitor. Do they affect it while NOT in 3d mode?
2. Does anyone here have this monitor and NOT have the ghosting issues? And is it really THAT distracting?
3. How good is the monitor outside of 3d? I am currently using a smasung 226BW which is great.
4. I have a gtx 260 (with core i7 920). I know my framerate will be cut hugely but is it still worth it? Can always get a second gtx 260 to boost performance when I have the cash.
Thanks guys,

Hi
First congrats, I'm glad to see you are considering buying 3D Vision. Here are some answers for you.
1. Some users are experiencing ghosting, which if it did occur, is an issue that only affects 3D mode.
2. My monitor doesnt have any ghosting. Some users can try running at 110Hz which can make their ghosting much better.
3. I love the monitor. If you have tried a true 120Hz display, you will know they are great in just 2D mode since they are really fast response time.
4. You should have a pretty good experience with that setup! Dont worry.
