Good point. The original game was also an AMD game and was part of AMD'S 3D "initiative". If internet rumors are to be believed, this is an Nvidia game. So there won't be a push on that side of things either.
So any hope for day-1 3DVision support? (All of Nixxes games with 3d support if i dont mistake..)
I don`t know about Hitman but Thief was great from day one also was TR itself, so there is a huge hope.
I was just talking to 4everAwake, and he pointed out the fact that it uses the Foundation engine, same as Temple of Osiris. As I recall, that game was a mess in 3D, and was never fixed (though I'm not sure if anyone really tried). So chances are, this will be broken out of the box.
First Tomb Raider was also build on this engine and turns out to be great in 3D. I think it depends on who is converting the game to PC.

Temple of Osiris is the most recent game, and therefore the most updated version of the engine we've seen so far. The fact that it doesn't work natively is a bad sign for Rise.

Seeing as how the games are so different, (Temple of Osiris, Guardian of The Light are isometric 3/4 view and play more like twin-stick shooters, and the new TR and ROTTB are 3rd person AAA cinematic action games), they are probably each using their own branch of the Foundation engine that has been tailored for each type of game to better suit its needs. We can only hope that not too much has changed from the last TR engine to break what was one of the best 'out of the box' 3D experiences of recent years. (iirc, only the crosshair was messed up, and they responded to feedback and fixed it with a proper dynamic 3d crosshair by the 3rd patch, within the first few weeks of release). I also don't remember the isometric games being that bad, just shadows and the odd minor effect every once in a while that were rendered wrong in 3d, and I think someone did release a basic fix that disabled some of it.
I think it may be naive to think so, but some of the devs at Nixxes must be 3d fans or at least use both their eyes, otherwise there is no way that the last TR would have been as good as it was. With all the shit that gets pulled these days with cutting corners to make release dates and save on development costs, there is not a chance in hell that it wouldn't have been a broken mess in 3d. Let's just pray that the ones who influenced the 3d before will still be part of the team that is working on the new one.
This is all just assumptions and conjecture and at the end of the day I just hope that if it is broken, at least 3dmigoto will work on it (and not blocked by Denuvo) and one of our talented shader hackers is able to fix it.

Yeah, I just wouldn't count on it working just because a previous game did. Don't forget about Just Cause 3 (runs on an upgraded JC2 engine), or Arkham Knight.
I expect we'll be buying it for the shared shaderhacker accounts, so maybe hold off on any preorders until it's been looked at.

Screenshot of graphics options. It's possible there are more hidden below a scroll bar, but there's nothing visible for 3D.

Saw that twitter screenshot too, wonder if the game has a launcher with options like TR2013. If so then it's possible.
But yeah so far, looks like 4k over 3D vision right now.
Just a warning..
Its got windows 10 exclusive graphic settings. So I wouldnt pre order if you don't have it because it might be nicer by time you have windows 10.

Its nvidia now.
First game that uses Nvidia's VXAO

I'm quite pessimistic after my experiences with Temple of Osiris. CM had almost no depth although I tried many different profiles and also manually changed the values. With 3Dmigoto it took hours (!) until the game started and it always crashed at a certain point in the first level. So definitevly no pre order...

My original display name is 3d4dd - for some reason Nvidia changed it..?!
I hope it will be 3D Vision ready like almost every game with Lara. Since I have keys (like with The Witcher 3 and other games) I will know for sure when it comes out
P.S. I have 3 or 4 spare keys for our honored fixers, special for the case

mistersvin, would you mind passing one of those keys my way? I manage a pool of shared steam accounts for shaderhackers, so a single key will cover any shaderhacker who wants access.
