Yesterday I had the fall creators update installed.
After that 3D-Vision was gone from the control panel (Win10 forced install of 385.69), so I reinstalled the driver 385.69.
But when starting the 3D-Vision-Assistent I got the error:
Stereo Blit call copied only half of the image, as if it did not
recognize Nv_Stereo_Image_Header and performed a regular
blit instead of stereo.
Then I used DDU to wipe all away and did install my previous driver 385.41 that was working well before. But it didn't help. Same error.
Now I went back to the older Windows build and Nv-3D-Vision works again pretty good.
Anyone else having this issue?

I'm not sure what 3D Vision Assistant is but 3D works fine here with the new update although to be fair I haven't used the Setup Wizard in a long time. I just completely skip the setup by modifying the registry with this tool http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2015/10/advanced-3d-vision-configuration.html
Also I'm using 387.92 WHQL drivers.

You can also skip the Setup Wizard by using 3D Fix Manager :). When enabling Stereoscopic 3D in 3D Fix Manager you are asked if you want to run the setup wizard or skip it by automatically modifying registry. Additionally you can reimport Nvidia Stereosopic settings from a backup then.

That's cool Paul, I know about your 3D manager app but I'm still using that tool to adjust "3D enabled on game launch" and "3D windowed mode enabled" which apparently turns off sometimes. Another option that I was using in the past is "3D mode always enabled". I'm pretty sure it was necessary for something like forcing the monitor in 3D mode permanently.

That's useless in Windows 10. In the Nvidia Control Panel that option doesn't exist, and forcing it elsewhere doesn't do anything.
I haven't used the default wizard for more than a year, after I started using Advanced 3D Vision Configuration (https://github.com/Eincrou/Adv3DVisionConfig/releases).

That option was working for me on Win 7 and 8 but indeed last time I checked it wasn't really behaving as intended on Win10, only partially and with some unexpected effects. Probably has to do with the new DWM.

I didn't think anyone would use these options - at least I never felt the need to use them. But it wouldn't be a problem for adding them to 3D Fix Manager. Are the other 2 options "3D enabled on game launch" and "3D windowed mode enabled" still working on Windows 10? I'll probably add these options.

"3D enabled on game launch" works for sure cuz I use it all the time. "3D windowed mode enabled" works as well but it only affects DX9 (and DX12 lol) games and some apps like PowerDVD, 3D Vision Photo Viewer and sView. Not sure why it gets disabled sometimes on its own. Also "3D mode always enabled" only works if you enable "3D windowed mode enabled". Would be cool indeed if you include them in 3D Fix Manager :]

I've just added "3D enabled on game launch" and "3D windowed mode enabled" options to 3D Fix Manager. Both work fine so far. I'll leave out "3D mode always enabled" when it's useless or causes problems. Version 1.28 is nearly ready - I'll probably release it when the French translation is completed for the application (translation done by community members here).

I can't test "3D mode always enabled" to check if still works for Win 7 or 8. It wasn't useless at all back then but I agree it's better to leave it out since it may cause issues nowadays. In any case those other two options are helpful so many thanks for adding them.

If you're like me and like doing things yourself, you could just use a REG file and a BAT script(techincally I'm using VBS script that automatically checks at LogOn) to update the Registry and Enable Stereoscopic 3D, instead of running the Wizard/Assistant... the nice thing about running a REG file is that it will elevate itself(UAC), if necessary, so there's no need to run the BAT script as Admin...
Just dump your working Stereo3D Key/REG or create a REG file with with your desired Settings like so:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D]
"LaserSightEnabled"=dword:00000001
"LaserSightProperty"=dword:0f04b064
"LaserSightIndex"=dword:0000001c
"LaserSightFile"="DLL:28"
"SnapShotQuality"=dword:0000005d
"StereoSeparation"=dword:00000064
"StereoDefaultOn"=dword:00000001
"EnableWindowedMode"=dword:00000005
"MonitorSizeOverride"=dword:00000015
"StereoDefaultONSet"=dword:00000001
"StereoVisionConfirmed"=dword:00000001
"StereoAdvancedHKConfig"=dword:00000001
Then in a BAT script run the REG file followed by NvStLink/Enable, like so:
UserDefined.reg&&"C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\3D Vision\NvStLink.exe" /Enable
I know this reg-settings for bypassing the wizard, but there was no 3D-Vision at all in no game.
When the wizard isn't working, it is a good indicator that something is wrong with 3D-Vision installation.
I gave the fall creators update a second chance today. Same error came with 385.69 .
Then I updated to 387.92 and everything seems to work good now. :)

Well I'm having problems after the fall update..... initially 3d vision worked but attempting to update the drivers causes the 3d vision driver to fail. Has happened twice now. I can reinstall the OS from back up but wtf ??? The 3d controller is installed as is physics x and the hd audio and graphics driver - but the 3d driver just says failed. Grrrrrrrrr !!!!

I can't quite remember which option it is, but windows 10 has this really annoying problem where full screen video will go "green"when 3d vision is on. The only fix is to modify the registry to make it so 3d vision has to be manually activated.
