Assassin's Creed (1, 2, Brotherhood): Workaround for skybox problem
3 / 4
Great work as usual with these games 3d4dd, bookmarked this thread for when I get back around to the Assassin's Creed titles.
I would also suggest since you've already identified the problematic textures, perhaps submitting a list of them to Ubisoft directly or in a post on their forums, or through AndrewF here so that they can maybe provide alternate textures without having to blank/remove them. Or to just provide an in-game option to turn off these effects/textures.

Good idea, I will contact Ubisoft's support. They said in their patch notes that they have fixed several issues regarding S3D but in fact there are the same issues as in the games before - including the special 3D Vision sky beeing still at wrong depth. So it almost seems to me that the responsible persons for QA didn't have much experience with S3D and testet their "improvements" with 5% depth and not with 100%...

If you keep the clouds with the occlusion/dust fix listed above, the sky depth issue can be lessened by adjusting convergence away from you. I'm at max depth, with the sky to normal. Wait for night time, you should see that the moon is doubled. Adjust the convergence until the moon becomes one. Once it becomes day again, the clouds will blend into the background so much better. This does kill any chance of having pop-out, but it really improves the game play, and helps cut scenes too! Now only if Umod would allow me to play for an hour without crashing.

Hello! I have AC revelations and 3d vision. My Umod not work! I think I do everything right, but I see no difference. I keep seeing the problem of shadows. Can anyone make a video tutorial?

Can You see the differences concerning the cloudless sky and the layer of smother? If uMod works with these textures and the only remaining issue are the shadow blobs then You have to determine the right name for the shadow "texture" for Your screen settings. In my post above (Posted 03 December 2011 - 11:52 AM) I described how to do that.

My AC2's FPS seems locked to 30FPS and the shadow LOD is really close. Is there a way of sorting this out?
Thanks

one question: In multiplayer games Umod is a cheater? pb ban? Thx

I`m not sure if the use of uMod can be detected by the game itself... But changing textures can definitevly provide advantages. Compare my mods of the detective and cat's-eye mode in Batman Arkham City (see). So I wouldn't risk it to use it in multiplayer games.

I also have not very high FPS. I thought that it is the fault of my single GTX 560 ti. Don't know if there is a lock to 30 FPS. I could observe the low range LOD for shadows in every AC. I didn't try to increase it as I don't think that my graphic card could handle it.

It's hit or miss with Umod. I played for an hour and a half the other day without issues, but last night it crashed after 15 minutes. It's a pain, but much better than playing with the blobs and dust!
