This driver doesn't detect legacy Samsung DLPs like the other drivers did. The Red Tint problem is reintroduced.

Hi
We are aware of some 3D TV detection issues with 270.51, I've posted that a few times. The WHQL driver will fix these issues.
thank you and sorry!!
After months of using 1.45 driver without problems I was reluctant to test 270.51, but I did yesterday in a fresh OS install, and just after installation, as some other people report, in the 3D Vision wizard the glasses are already completely out of sync. If I test at 100 Hz they are better, but still suffer somewhat of bad sync. The same for the 3D test in the nvidia control panel, of course.
The worst is that I uninstalled them through control panel uninstall, then as usual I rebooted in safe mode, and cleaned with Driver Sweeper and Driver Cleaner .NET 3.4.6, rebooted in normal mode and installed 1.45 3D Vision CD. Guess what? The glasses suffer of loss of sync (much more moderated than with the 270.51, but still much more than before when I used the 1.45 without having installed & uninstalled the 270.51 previously).
So, at side that nvidia should/will fix that soon (I hope!)...what should I do? re-format the hard drive and reinstall everything? Someone has succeed to really clean an nvidia driver?
I installed all the nvidia drivers by checking the "clean install" option. I have checked and the 3D Vision USB controller is 270.47.
I have a dual boot with another Windows 7 x64 recently installed on a new disk, where I installed the 1.45, and like the last months it works flawlessly. So it is clear for me, that the new drivers messed something up in the OS, that now I can't remove... Note: I can't use restore system, because it does not work with multiple boot.
My current rig is:
Windows 7 x64
Q6600 @ 3.6 GHz (the problem is still there if I remove the overclock, I tested it)
Asus Maximus Formula II
OCZ 8 Gb RAM DDR2 1066
EVGA GTX 285 FTW

I just decided to reformat and reinstall Win 7 x64 from scratch, installed mobo drivers, and the 1.45 drivers.
Result? The loss of sync of the glasses is still there!! I have tested even with the glasses connected to the PC with a USB cable (just in case). The IR emitter is connected, as always, to the mobo directly.
So, I can conclude that the 270.51 drivers has "corrupted" the IR emitter with some new "firmware" or similar (?), making useless a reformat (or even to use a new pc, I guess). And AFAIK the IR emitter does not have a reset button...
So what can I do now if even a reformat does not solve the situation?
Has someone a clue, please? (at side of waiting for a fix from Nvidia, which could take 'who knows how many weeks/months'... /unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ). Note: working at 100 Hz does not solve the out-of-sync problem, it only reduces it eventually becoming less noticeable.
Suddenly, I am out of 3D Vision train... /blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Hi
When you are trying to use 270.51, are you running with your Samsung LCD or Sharp projector? Are you running with both connected at the same time?
First of all thanks a lot for answering and show interest!
No, I am always testing in the Samsung 2233RZ. The sharp projector is not connected now, but instead I have as a second monitor a LG M2294D (which of course is not 3D Ready). Both are connected although the LG is not ON.
BTW, I have uninstalled the 1.45 + Driver Cleaner in safe mode, etc, and installed the 1.38, then although there is more ghosting in the top than usual (nvidia test app) at least the sync (I mean the frame rate) seems to be in sync, I mean, the ghosting does not change with time, as it does with 270.51.
Unhappily if I uninstall it and put the 1.45, the sync problem comes back...

This frightens me and makes me not want to install this driver. If the 3DV emitter gets messed up by Nvidia's crappy firmware updates, it could stay broken for months or even years until they decide to fix the bug.
Whoever heard of a usb device that needs constant firmware revisions anyway. I would suggest that anyone who wants to try this new driver grab the software version of the emitter and try it that way. Rather than brick the only pyramid that you're going to get.

Hello, what do you mean by "software version of the emitter"?
EDIT: I found the 3DV emitter emulator, but I should test it. I mean, can I use the glasses using the emulator (and the true emitter plugged too)? I doubt it, and without the true emitter plugged, it is not possible to use the glasses, so how to check the drivers with the emulator, if the problem is about sync with the glasses? Honestly, the only thing viable I see, is not to install these drivers under any concept. Period
...and for next releases, to wait until others willing to be guinea-pigs, test them. Sad. But I wonder what developers would do if nobody would like to make the beta-test of their software /ermm.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ermm:' /> ?
BTW, andrew, I unplugged the second monitor, restarted and reinstalled drivers 1.45 and later 270.51 it has not solved anything. I even have plugged the samsung 2233RZ in the other GPU connector, but nothing changes. Of course the GPU is installed in the first PCIex 16 slot.
Do you have some help, please?! Now I can't use 3D Vision anymore...

We currently do not support that TV. Please send us the EDID and we can add support for it with frame packging mode. Info here on how to do it http://nvidia.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/nvidia.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2774

Hi,
which 3DTVs will NVidia support in further?
I don't want to buy any further non supported hardware and wait half a year for the possibility of a driver support.
I still have a non supported display, waited to long for a GTX295 fix (http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=190194), bought a gtx570, 3DVision glasses
and I think it's easier for NVIDIA to contact LG, Philips etc. for their EDIDs instead of asking your customer for that.
How about passive systems like the LG xxLW5500-series, the Philips 3DEasy-series or the abovementioned LG47LD950.
The manual of the LG47LD950 said that the HDMI connectors are DVI/HDMI connectors. Is it possible enable 3D line-interleave Mode for the LG47LD950 over DVI like a 3D-Zalman display?
It would be perfect to play @ 50/60Hz instead of frame-packing @ 24Hz.

Hi
We will be able to support most 3D TVs on the market. If its not on our list, we can easily add it.
We currently do support some passive 3D TVs, but not all yet since we havent checked them into our driver. There is no need to output line interleved stereo - the TV supports frame packed signals so you just output 720p60 or 1080p24 and the TV handles converting that signal into the correct display format.
If you have a 3D TV not on our list, please send us the EDID and we can add it. We dont have the LG47LD950 on our list yet, but if you do, please tell me and we can add it.

Hi

thank you and sorry!!

Suddenly, I am out of 3D Vision train...

When you are trying to use 270.51, are you running with your Samsung LCD or Sharp projector? Are you running with both connected at the same time?

Sad. But I wonder what developers would do if nobody would like to make the beta-test of their software

It would be perfect to play @ 50/60Hz instead of frame-packing @ 24Hz.
regards,
Robert
