If you check my last post on this I have resolved this issue. I have been fairly disappointing with Nvidia driver support recently though definitely... My point was before bio-wares update yesterday I was completely Stable, after I started getting hard crashes, worse than before. I think they may have actually fixed something in the last update, and my weird workaround became incompatible. My settings are a bit more "normal" now and its gone back to working perfectly. Or it could be related to page file use. (which I cleared.) I'll refrain from further comment, until Helix reports on his findings, and if its still an issue for him, I will put up a post which goes thoroughly into my settings which got this working.

Just working fine for me with my "clean" windows 7 without updates. I have read that an "EVIL UPDATE" causes problems but may be it it another one after Bioware-patch. So: I Updated origin and the game, i used DDU to uninstall driver an installed the lastest. Game will have some broken 3D issues after traveling (some of 1 of 5 times), but CONTINUE a game after a restart works good ... 100% Traveling with ALT+TAB saves me from crashes, i ALT+TAB on the first (black) loading screen and i am waiting for 10 seconds (dont know if this is a must but i do it because it works ^^) NEver run into completely broken 3D, only some effects are broken some times. So: ALL GOOD IN HERE FOR ME °_°

Losti we worked out the update causing a lot of issues is definitely KB 2670838 You probably should update all other windows updates (besides IE 11 which forces it on you) as its kinda dangerous and also means you might as well be using a different OS from the rest of us. I did a lot of personal testing on this using images at every step. Vsync off in game but on in the control panel. I use adaptive (This prevents the game from failing to render certain elements in 3d with shader cache on, and it works every time, as soon as I turn it off I get the problems you describe) This coupled with the KB removal eliminates the incorrect 3d on load issue I was plagued with entirely. When this is done I only ever need to clear the cache if 3d breaks. (it hasn't for the last few days.) And all the other setup as per the blog. But especially the section on registry to disable 3D on startup. (I enable it when in game I do get a seldom crash on area transition, but its gone from every time to exceedingly rare... I'm using the driver released yesterday, from what I can see there are no dragon age improvements.

Helifax, is there a newer version out of the FWS tool for this game? I have the one that is part of the Helixmod V9 download but it says it's for Patch 2. The version number is 2.1.82 - Rev.2 on what I have. Thanks again for all the work you guys do for 3D gaming!

No, I think I had a corrupt page file or something after the update. I cleared it and the problem went away again. It's pretty much working without alt + tab now. In fact if I use it, 3d will break sometimes. The crashes are so much reduced I don't even bother, occasionally it does crash but quite rare and I can load a game up so fast I don't worry about it. More importantly I no longer ever get shader breaking issues. If you have a surround setup also try Spanning displays but then forcing to a single display. (this might be placebo though.) Also, just in case you didn't catch it. We worked out that the default profile is only broken in single display resolutions, its works fine in surround weirdly enough. Basically my Shader rendering problems with SC ON were resolved with a combination of Vsync forced on in the NVpanel, and the removal of the KB windows update. (I use adaptive due to bad performance with "on") I tested all the other updates in small chunks and rolling back with images, and the "evil update" was only that one made any difference. (a huge difference) I think this update also likely influences the cache getting corrupt and needing to clear it, cause I generally don't do this any more either. If I switch vsync off though I go back to getting a few elements not in stereo. If the shaders break Ill clear it, but I haven't had this happen for days. Your mileage may vary obviously and its still possible something else is influencing this in my environment also, I'll, continuing to fiddle with it.

Oddly enough in a few cases if I zone and it does not crash but 3D is broken, a couple of times I was able to Alt-Tab out and back in and re-enable 3D and it worked. Other times it would just crash. Can you write-up your full steps just in case I missed something across your posts? I think I have them all but maybe I missed a step. I am out of town now but when I get back I will try clearing the page file just in case. I am hoping helifax has found some magic fix, but since he has not posted yet I fear he found problems with it.

If you have a surround setup also try Spanning displays but then forcing to a single display. (this might be placebo though.)

Also, just in case you didn't catch it.

(a huge difference)

I think this update also likely influences the cache getting corrupt and needing to clear it, cause I generally don't do this any more either. If I switch vsync off though I go back to getting a few elements not in stereo. If the shaders break Ill clear it, but I haven't had this happen for days.

Your mileage may vary obviously and its still possible something else is influencing this in my environment also, I'll, continuing to fiddle with it.

necropants, I think the surround setup is an important factor as while using vsync does seem to help broken 3D upon initial load for me I still have many crashes when zoning especially if I use Alt-Tab.
