Checkerboard on 2012 Samsung

betc, is your ES8000 have "AMP" enabled or disabled? Someone on AVSforum.com said they fixed the input lag in 3D after they disabled AMP. Don't know what that is. Barrent, Helix released his farcry fix.

@Libertine no idea re motion plus, can you find the post on AVSforum.com? i would like to follow that up. I know auto motion plus is an option. @barrent still no noticable lag and i was going for a lot of head shots... anyone else out there with an ES8000 that can weigh in on this discussion?

Owner of a 55es7500 here. I actually asked mocca for advice on avforums before switching from a 55lm8600 to my current tv. I dont notice any input lag on my samsung. My only issue is sometimes the motion iin 3d mode seems to break a little/doesn't seem natural. This happens in sbs movies and only effects games I play on xbox. 3d vision is smooth, no motion issues. I think mocca is quite knowledgeable but perhaps more sensitive to lag than most. With my LG, playing in 3d with trumtion on, input lag was horrible.

I'm really sorry to everybody, my brain is fried with all the tv's i've had so getting mixed up is allways a possibilty with my fried brain :) I see why i returned it now, it was due to the 2d ghosting on moving objects/panning that was only cleared up with Frame interpolation active which imho had too much input lag for a 2d game. http://www.avforums.com/forums/17902741-post1.html .......... Tome a es8000 has loads of blur/ghosting/trialing at 60hz in 2d and so does a dt50, both sets sort there lifes out when interpolation is active but this adds too much inpt lag to games. ...... ;)

betc, what depth do you play games your Samsung with? I use 35%, that seems to be about as far as I can push without any noticeable ghosting or image doubling. What are your findings?

Around ~70% in Crysis 1 and 2, i just like a lot of depth and neither of those ghost or anything, its harder on the eyes the deeper you go. borderlands 2 seems to have lots of ghosting although i havent really played around with the settings. i dont remember seeing ghosting in any game other than borderlands 2 or if you set the depth really high. what games are you playing and i can check them out at 35% and 70%.

I have tried borderlands 2, yes I do get some decent ghosting. The other game is Batman Arkham City, I get ghosting on brights lights in the far background when I push the depth too far, also objects in the foreground that pop out seem to double. I also notice ghosting, less than Batman and quite minor, when pushing the depth on Lego Pirates, Battlefield 3, and Dead Space 2. Would you mind sharing your Tv's 3D picture settings (Contrast, Brightness, etc...) with me? Perhaps that makes a bit of difference.

The 55es7500 I got has been awesome lately. I set the 3D optimization to -1, which decreased ghosting just enough so that it doesn't bother me much. I've been playing Dead Space 3 and I don't know if there is a game with more consistently high contrast areas/3D torture test. I've set depth to 60%, convergence to just around my character and have been loving the 3D. Input lag is minimal, motion blur is good for 3D, and it pop's out when aiming but not to the point of eye strain.

I have a 2010/2011 43" 720P Samsung Plasma. No lag, no ghosting and no checkerboard. I sit 1-2M in front of it. I've been wanting to upgrade to 1080P in a 60-65" but just can't justify it. Besides my 2x570's seem to get a decent workout already I'd have to think of upgrading. I've been wanting to stay with Samsung - 4 pairs of glasses - and with plasma but the Panasonic UV50's sure look good.

I'm not sure, but I think your TV used Bluetoothe glasses and the new Samsungs do not. So you might want to comfirm that before factoring the glasses into your decision.

Hello. Any news on using active 3D TV set for gaming? Have es8000 and es7500 proved to be good for this purpose?
