I still want to use my 3D Vision! Can I install the 3D Vision driver separately?

I'm not very smart, but I do know that the future can not be foretold, not even by Nostradamus.

I can install the 3D vision manually in my win10 with 430.64 driver. I think win7 is not necessary. Steps: 1. Download 430.64 driver, extract it (C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\430.64\Win10_64\International) 2. Copy the extracted files to another place, and close the auto displayed setup windows (After closed, original extracted files will be auto deleted) 3. Copy NV3DVision and NV3DVisionUSB.Driver to the new driver folder, click setup.exe to install. There should be 3D Vision in the list to install 4. Click 3DVision.exe in NV3DVision to install I think the key is we should reopen the setup.exe after copying those two 3dvision folder, so the setup.exe can detect them. I've tested Sekiro Shadows Die Twice in 3D, and it's perfect. Now the only problem is in 3D Fix Manager, it still warn me that 430.64 driver is not compatible to 3D Vision. And the 3D button can't be on. I think the checking logic should be updated in its next version.

@zuik On the face of it, this looks to be fantastic news for all Win10 devotees. I'm wondering if there can be such a thing as too much winning. Personally, my money's on zig11727 to beat everyone else to the punch to hopefully replicate your own results. Thank you for sharing this, and congratulations!

After the above post I went back and check all is not working in Windows 10 Retested and found the following I have two computers I tested the Windows 10 patched 3D Vision the 3D Vision installs but when I launch a game it Crashes to Desktop and generates a error log file. The two computers used for the test have RTX cards so this could be the reason why it works for the user above. In Windows 7 all is working fine 3D Vision works with games The reason why it's not working is do to the features for RTX in Windows 10 where Windows 7 just has a subset DX12 to run some games that require DX12 but not RTX features.

This is a bit confusing because a few very knowledgeable people have commented that Nvidia removed significant functionality from the basic driver itself, or does that just relate to windows 3d modes/compatibility? I suppose 3d vision itself has always been separate/complimentary to any built in Windows 3d awareness.

I'm using the GTX 970. So maybe the reason that NVIDIA removed 3D vision, is they don't want to support 3D for RTX card? Then maybe other old cards can still use 3D vision.

Whenever you've had a chance to test your games library more extensively, an update on 3D functionality would certainly be appreciated.

[quote="zuik"]I can install the 3D vision manually in my win10 with 430.64 driver. Followed the steps, and indeed the installer did show the 3DVision controller driver (but not the actual 3DVision driver itself). After installation, Nvidia control panel did not have a Stereoscopic 3D tab. Tested 2 games: MK11 crashed during boot. Borderlands GOTY Enhanced booted, but in monoscopic.
