3d Vision not working for youtube.
I have a Asus Vg278h with 3d vision 2 glasses, windows 7, and the first gtx titan. When i first got these 3d worked for everything including youtube. I stopped using my pc often for over a year, just recently played some 3d games just fine, but i cant get 3d vision to work on youtube anymore. I have the latest drivers, I just installed them yesterday through 'Geforce experience' 340.52, despite that this tells me my drivers are outdated https://www.3dvisionlive.com/3dv-html5-detection. I made sure it was a 3d video on youtube (it was nvidias own 3d announcement), 3d was enabled on youtube, i made it full screen 1080p. Didn't work. Tried to set 3d mode to always on in the nvidia control panel and that didn't work. The emitter doesn't turn on at all on my monitor except when i played 3d games. How do I make this work on youtube and outside of games?

There are approximately a million threads on this subject. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/769043/youtube-in-3d-not-work/ https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/767751/3d-vision-refuses-to-work-with-youtube-nvidia-3d-vision-live-website/ https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/679636/how-to-use-3d-vision-on-youtube-/ https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/761414/youtube-3d-not-automatically-engaging-nvidia-3d-vision/
There are approximately a million threads on this subject.
Thanx for the links, I, like the OP, have this problem. I tried a few methods mentioned, some of them here, on this forum. But I never got it running. Eithter it's not working at all, or maximum 360p which should be called ICSS "(I can't see s...) ;) . If anyone finds the solution to this problem, but the one that is working NOW, please share the info or the appropriate link to actually helpful thread. Now = latest Nvidia drivers, latest web browser version/s, latest flash or youtube state. The last one could be important, for example they said they allow 60fps videos now, and yet NOTHING 60fps works besides the 2 videos they shared during the announcement. So please don't rush to assume people are lazy and didn't do their research. I gave up after half an hour and 4 different "working" (for others, not me) solutions, so forgive me, but I don't want to read another 10 solutions, loose another hour, when there's a risk that it all will be in vain. Thanx. PS. Your nickname. So I should just say "I'll wait for a movie" instead of this post ;)

There are some "solutions" in those posts, but in short: it's pretty broken, and it has been for some time. Don't count on a fix any time soon. There's not a huge amount of decent 3d content on Youtube anyway. You could probably play it in side-by side mode, download the video (downloadhelper extension for firefox) and play it in the nvidia player, if you were desperate.

If you can do side-by-side, outside of 3D Vision (3D TV Play, or just full screen side-by-side on a 3D TV), you can get better 3D from YouTube. But, it's totally broken. In one of those threads, I talk about how Google has switched 3D to HTML5 rendering, and as part of that, they have ruined it. The only resolution allowed is 360p for 3D done that way. Also, any 3D video that is monetized with ads is not allowed to play via HTML5, so no 3D. If you have a side-by-side video that is not marked as 3D, then it can play at 1080p. Not 100% broken, but close.
BOB if you were to monetisde videos does it mean that it will only play in firefox and no long in google chrome?
That's entirely possible, but I'm not sure. It's possible that FireFox is still using the Flash player for 3D, and hence it works, whereas the new and 'improved' html5 rendering is completely trashed for 3D.
