Need a new monitor
I was using the ASUS VG278H monitor, however it got sprayed by a cat which resulted in vertical lines and a grey bubble at the bottom. So now I'm researching for a replacement. I would love to have picked up another of the same model but it looks like they are no longer making them also I'm not seeing much available with the built in emitter. So far it looks like the closest replacement would be the ASUS VG278HE and adding a vision kit. I can't really afford anything much more than the $500 range. Does anyone here have any suggestions as to what my new monitor should be?

Personally, I would wait. There are a few new monitors coming out which should or may support nvidia 3d and also have gsync: http://3dvision-blog.com/tag/asus-rog-swift-pg278q/ e.g. the BenQ XL2720G I would say to keep using your old monitor for a month or so longer and get a newer screen. From what I have read, the VG278HE had problems that at least my VG278H didn't have (e.g. highly noticeable "checkerboard" pattern in 3D and uniformity issues). As for the vision kit, you already have the glasses you just need the dongle. Look on ebay for a second hand on (without glasses) as it may save you money. Both v1 and v2 will work identically with your v2 glasses.
