Hello,
I'm fairly new to the 3D vision and I have been looking around several websites to find my answers. I was not able to find solid answers and thus I ask these questions in here.
I plan on buying a GTX 770 with a BenQ XL2720T. On BenQ's site it says it's Nvidia 3D Vision 2 and lightboost certified but I cannot find it supported on Nvidia's supported devices web page. Is it supported?
On the same web page (nvidia's) it says you need an HDCP compliant device. As far as I could find it requires HDMI. But on many sites I found HDMI is not capable of transmitting enough bandwidth for 3D (120hz). THey said you need DVI-D/I Dual Link.
What type of 3D movies am I looking for to download? I downloaded Avatar but it's SBS (Side by Side), does it work with 3D vision 2?
I searched for hours using google and got a few satisfactory answers, and a few minutes later I found a complete oposite answer on a diferent website.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and answer some (perhaps simple) questions. I appreciate it alot!
Mr_ZioN!

That monitor looks fine to me, though you'll need to purchase a 3d vision kit separately. Wait for more responses as I'm not 100% sure, but it looks pretty safe. The Asus VG278H is a similar price but comes with a built-in emitter and glasses, so it's probably worth considering that too.
Side by side movies are fine. There's a free player from nVidia, which is really just a rebranded version of "Stereoscopic player", and that will play SBS without a problem.
It requires DVI-D/Dual Link for 120hz 1080p.
If you're going to pick up a 3d monitor, welcome to a whole new world of gaming. You won't look back. You'll want to bookmark a few places, these will get you started.

Thank you Pirateguybrush,
I've spend alot of time find the best monitor and the BenQ seems to top it a little bit. I don't mind spending a bit on the Nvidia 3D Vision 2 Starter kit.
I've seen the free nvidia player, but I want to use Plex as I have all of my movies on a home server. If it does not work out I will use the player nvidia provides. Plex seems to work as far as I could test it (60hz laptop monitor).
Alright so DVI dual link is the way to go. What is with the HDCP? It's what I found on nvidia's site. (HDCP-compliant 3D Vision-ready display. Please check the 3D Vision system requirements page for a full list of displays.) From what i've seen it's only with HDMI 1.4.
That's what i've heard more than once past days during my search, and I do not plan on looking back anytime soon.
I've visited the helix webpage already. I have bookmarked both websites, they seem to be quite useful.

It's also worth considering the warranty, too. The VG278H has a 3 year warranty, 100% dead pixel guarantee, and there's an Asus service centre in my area. I can't find the same information on the BenQ. Not trying to push you one way or the other though.
I know nothing about Plex. Maybe it'll work, though I don't understand the issue. nVidia's player should play networked files just fine.
HDCP works over HDMI and DVI, as far as I can tell. I can also tell you that (almost) everyone here (with the exception of TV/Projector users) is using DVI-D Dual Link.

There's two 27 inch Asus monitors. The older one has the built in 3D Vision transmitter and is 120hz. The newer version is 144hz, but doesn't have 3D Vision built in. You need to purchase the Nvision 2 kit separately. It's also only 120hz in 3D mode.

I love my Asus VG278H (120hz model) and have never had any issues in the 16 months I've owned it. 2D gaming looks good on it, 3D games look amazing on it. I have no reservations in recommending it to anyone remotely interested in 3D.
I only wish it had a few USB ports and that the UI was a bit easier to navigate, and that the sockets in the back for DVI, VGA and HDMI were more accessible, but these are just small niggles.
It even worked well on my PS3.
