Now i noticed....i play the main quest + 3 mission without using that zoom/first person feature...LOL Yes, you can use another key for change to first person view/zoom when aiming. Not "I" because i use for ON/OFF lensflares...you can use "G" key for example (Create another custom override). The bad thing is user with controller, like me, can't do this, so the same button is used for 2 functions. BUT because this feature is not when you hold "F", if you override to another key ("G") when you press again to come back to 3 person view, the convergence remains lower.....you have to declare your gameplay convergence ("P" key) and make the "G" key cycle between the low convergence (G) and the gameplay convergence(P). Also i try to push the Hand/gun model only to a confortable view for aiming, but have some nasty effect when the camera is too close to snake or you are too close to an enemie. I will try to do another thing if work.

For Win7 users with issues starting this game, install the KB 2670838 update (AKA the evil update). Seems that with that update installed the game runs OK. One user in the blog, test with the update and works ok for him.

@stepsbarto I suppose you have to use fullscreen in-game option. The game start with borderless fullscreen, change to "fullscreen" and try. The KB 2670838 update (AKA the evil update) is for win7. If you try to install in win10 you may have that message. I don't have win10, so i can't test.

3DMigoto 1.2.27 is out to address the crashes/hangs in this game 1. Download it from here: https://github.com/bo3b/3Dmigoto/releases/tag/1.2.27 2. Replace the d3d11.dll from the fix with the new version, but do NOT replace the d3dx.ini 3. Edit the d3dx.ini and find this line:
hook=all except_set_shader_resources
and replace it with this:
hook=recommended skip_dxgi_factory
"recommended" is "all" with three workarounds enabled. The skip_dxgi_factory workaround is fine for this game, but is not safe to use in all games (overlay and key bindings may not work), hence it is not included in "recommended". I have tested this on: Windows 7 without evil update Windows 7 with evil update Windows 10 I have not tested: Windows 8.0 Windows 8.1 Please report back if this does or does not help (especially report if you are using Windows 8.0 / 8.1).

Looks great runs stable (for short times, I didn't attempt to play any of it - but I'm knocked down from 45FPS in the starting position without 3dmigoto, down to 22FPS with it. I've tested with and without the shaderfixes folder, and it's the same in both situations. Can't compare to the previous version, as it crashes. Windows 8 2x GTX 970

Great! The new 3Dmigoto and new hook value are working well. Windows 7 x64 without the evil update. Glad that I didn't have to install that at the end. Thank you, DSS. Now what I need is a new GPU to get 60fps. My 760 isn't enough for 3D at 1080p. Waiting for Pascal.
That is quite a larger dip than I would expect. Hooking is going to perform worse than wrapping for several reasons, not the least of which is the big lock protecting the deferred context lookup map and my options are somewhat limited to address this - I might send you a couple of experimental side builds of 3DMigoto to try a few things, but I'm also wary of adding too much complexity for a feature that looks like it will only be used in two games.

I'm happy to help out with testing. If it does turn out to be the case that it's a large unavoidable performance hit, it may be worth keeping two versions of the fix on the blog. One for 7/8/8.1, and the other for 10 - with a warning that the former will have a significant performance hit. At least that way, W10 users can use the better performing version, while others can still play at reduced performance.

Hmmm? I wouldn't expect there to be any significant difference in performance between Win 10 and earlier versions - are you saying there is one?

Oh, I thought you were implying the changes in 1.2.27 could be what's causing the slowdown, but on re-reading I don't think that's what you meant.

Just tested with SLI off, and I'm seeing the same performance. Can anyone confirm if SLI is/isn't working for them here? I'm running driver 358.91 (and won't be shifting until I'm done with GTAV, for fear of breaking it).
