Hi guys,
I am pretty new here and sometimes I have seen in some threads that you recommend to do something in Nvidia Inspector. I am wondering when and why it is good to use Nvidia Inspector and how to use it?
Thanks for answers in advance!

By default, you can see all the information about your video card.
You can use the program to overclock the GPU.
You can also adjust the fan speed of the video card.
And yet officially unsupported games from nvidia
it is useful for replacing or adding various profiles.

As far as 3D goes/using nvidiaProfileInspector goes, we use it to either fix a Profiles 3D settings, assign an exe to a/another Profile, delete a broken Profile, etc.
I'll update this post later, after work, with some examples and instructions/some of my findings when using nPI... :)

That would be super great! Thanks ;-)

I am interested only for usage reasons in terms of 3D Vision.

Sorry I don't really have a whole lot of time to write this... but I'll attempt to get the most I can into it... :)
In order to really use nvidiaProfileInspector for editing/creating Profiles you should also save DarkStarSword's updated CustomSettingNames_en-EN.xml as CustomSettingNames.xml in nPI's directory. There's also the Game Profile Settings Wiki Page which explains what a lot of the Settings do.
Most people just use nPI to swap or delete Profiles or enable Compatibility Mode but you can do much more when you tinker with it, like fix StereoTextureEnable(SS2, Red Faction, Blades of Time & Thief <<< I have to update those last 3 posts using nPI but you get the point) values in older games that don't display correctly anymore, enable InGameLaserSight in older games that it works with, etc, etc.
You can create/edit Profiles easily with but sharing them is a bit harder, if you try to export an entire Profile(including predefined settings) it will export encrypted values which won't work when reimported... so if you need to export an entire Profile you have to build it from scratch using the same decrypted settings/values listed in nPI but as far as I know if you just export a partial/edited Profile(export current profile) it will update those settings/values and keep the other NVIDIA defaults.

Do not apologize. I am happy for any help and understand that this take time... I went through all of your videos (great work!) and those links and I think I am getting better image about how it works. Please correct me if I am wrong but for best 3D experience I should follow this schema:
[olist]
[.] check whether game has native 3D Vision ready status => if yes no fix is needed lets play, if no then point 2[/.]
[.] install 3D fix through 3D Fix manager => if problems then point 3[/.]
[.] check Helifax blog game list for other fix which can be installed as "extract and play" => if problems then point 4[/.]
[.] try Compatibility Mode using 3DMigoto => if problems try changings values or point 5[/.]
[.] use nVidia Profile tweaks as:[/.]
[.]sear this forum/Helifax blog for profile tweak[/.]
[.]use Geforce 3D Profile Manger (since nVidia Inspector is not good for export/import) to dump settings[/.]
[.]change settings and import database back[/.]
[.]play[/.]
[/olist]
Is that correct? If not can you change it please?

That Compatibly Mode link wasn't actually my post, that was Helifax... and probably his vids, I've never done any.

That is very interesting. It looks like parallel project to what is going here + it is still alive.
However I guess most "clean", easy and safe (less crashes) way for enabling Compatilibity Mode is via nVidia Profile I guess?
There are no crashes with SuperDepth3D in a matter fact it is easier to install SuperDepth3D then to switch profiles via NVidia Inspector. SuperDepth3D also works with OpenGl which CM doesn't.

But I did mean to put a note in there that SuperDepth3D was fake 3D like Compatibility Mode but better when/if it works(finds a usable depth buffer), you can get more depth out of it, only the first few driver versions that contained CM would work with depthhacks and the last game I tried in CM on my 24" LCD I was struggling to even notice the effect, it's a bit better on my 65" DLP but even there it's lacking when I'm used to playing with my depth set to my IPD.

May I ask why? Have you ever encountered any problems with 3D Fix manager?
May I ask why? Have you ever encountered any problems with 3D Fix manager?
It's just personal preference... nothing against it, I just know how to manually do everything it does and I don't really need a 2D/3D loader because I never really play '3D' games in 2D anymore.
edit:my original comment was in response to yours, that "install 3D fix through 3D Fix manager => if problems then point 3" is 'how' it works, which makes it seem like it's necessary to use 3D Fix Manager above all else to install fixes, which it's not... you can just install them manually
