3D Dual projector (passive) + Quadro 6000
Hello I am a complete beginner to this, however I have been bestowed the task of setting up our existing projection setup for my work (WHY ME!?!). We currently have 2 projectors (720p, DVI) that I would like to set up for passive 3D display; the dual projector setup was purchased back in 2007. Sadly, no one ever took the time to set it up. I have a new computer with a Quadro 6000 card (and is the only hope we have of getting this system tow irk), however I have absolutely no idea if it is even possible to set up in this configuration. The 6000 only has DVI-D and 2 displayports (DP). Is this set up even remotely possible? Yes, we do have a silver screen. To be honest, I'm not even sure if this is the appropriate place to be asking this question... If if is possible, what do I need to do to hook my quadro up? Use DVI + DP-to-DVI? Or 2 DP-to-DVI? Should I be using Mosaic to overlap the screens? I have spent quite a bit of time searching, but I find for things of this nature, if you aren't using the correct terminology/language, you have little chance of finding the answer. Thanks so much for your help! I am 100% confused and lost right now.

You`ve got everything under this link. Written by me so you can ask any question (in here). http://www.x-simulator.de/forum/polarized-stereo-3d-using-2-projectors-cheap-foil-filters-t2516.html

thanks skaut! This is a good reference, but my concerns are specifically on the GPU / nVidia side of things; I can't figure out for the life of me if I am able to set up a dual projector system using the DVI-D along with using a displayport to DVI converter, or if I need to get 2 converts and not run the DVI-D, or if it won't work at all. It seems that nVidia is really pushing their 3D Vision product and don't talk about simpler applications like the system I have. I have everything I need in terms of the external components (projects/polarizing lenses/silver screen/glasses), but I am concerned about the actual GPU / software side :S Thanks for your help & insight!

ahh i see in page 18 more details. still not sure about the specifics of the adapter i need to get, or if there is a cable that will split DVI-D into Left/Right sides. i'm a bit slow :S

Since you are using a Quadro card I believe Nvidia has a Dual Output option in the drop down menu. I'd go with the two Display ports out using identical adapter cables. If you were to use the DVI port for one and the display port+adapter for the other, it may throw the timings off and the two images would not sync correctly. For non PC use with Dual Projectors, you can use 2x Optoma 3D-XL, 2x 3DFury or a Geobox 501 to demux to left and right over HDMI. Btw, what are the model # of the projectors? Are they 3D Vision certified?

Only thing you have to do is to plug those two projectors - each one to different post on your card. You can use some adapters like i did - it can be DVI-D to HDMI or others. It depands on what is on the other end (your projectors input connector). Then go to Nvidia display menu, aet up multiple displays - active them two. Then check resolution and refresh ratio ( make them the same) and you are ready. To check how it works get Stereoscopic player demo and start some movie recorded in side-by-side format. Another test is DDD Injector - couple of days trail to see how games works. They already have option to set up Dual Output. Your projectors don`t have to be 3D Vision certificated. On Dual Output you work outside of 3D Vision Drivers. Stick to the plan:)
