For the record, I am running dual core conroe E6600 @3.4 with 7600GT severely overclocked and pcie bus at 115. I am having no problems what so ever.
I think this is specifically an AMD problem, not generaly a Dual Core problem.
I know that there is a performance driver, BUT, have you guys ALSO installed the WindowsXP Dual Core update (not a part of windows update) AND the AMD dual core optimiser - Not just the performance patch (there are 2 AMD patches I believe).
These 3 things can be obtained here:
The driver and "optimizer" programs:

Windows XP Dual core Hotfix:

(link and instructions half way down the page)
Now, do you still get the same problems?
Can I ask if anyone with an Intel processor has this problem?

agree'd. my friend came over yesterday to hook up his SLi 7900 setup to my projector rig and had no issues (intel core duo). My AMD has issues unless I switch to a single core HAL. So I agree, this is an AMD specific issue.

I seem to be OK now except for BF1942. The patches did nothing for me. What made the differece with my rig was disabling the dual core optimizations with the reg edits suggested in the Nvidia release notes. BF1942 plays great, but crashs when I exit 3D stereo.

I disagree, I use an intel core duo prosesor on an old P5PE-VM mother board, and there are 3 old games so far that don't run Flyff(online), Yuri's Revenge, and some flash games available on yahoo >.<

Hey RAGEdemon what drivers are you using to get stereo working on dual core ?
I have the following system specs
Dual core Pentium 3.4Ghz
two 512 DDR2 ram
gforce 7600GS pci-e 512 meg ram
windows xp service pack 2.
ASUS P5VD2-MX socket 775 mATX motherboard
Installed the latest matching video and stereo driver's, all I can get to work is the test image.

can you tell us what happens when you try to enable stereo? The more the detail, the more chance we have of understanding it :P

When I go to enable stereo using crtl + T in flightsim fs9 the game stops but the sound keeps going.

Games which are known to work?
Maybe it is a problem with FS9 itself and stereo.
