Dark Souls for PC -- 3D Vision compatible ?
This absolutely awesome RPG is finally coming to the PC in August 2012. I've played it on XBox 360 but certainly plan to buy the PC version as it will contain new areas, bosses, equipment, etc. I was wondering if any tech-savvy people who have played it would care to comment, based on what they've seen on the console version, if it is likely to look decent with 3D Vision. I know it's early but here's to hoping...

Loved it on the 360, but the framerate was atrocious at times, so really looking forward to running it on the PC, with the possibility of 3D /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

According to wiki, the game uses the PhyreEngine, which is a sony developed engine.

Ah, some valuable insight. I checked the page and the only games I recognize are Colin McRae:Dirt and Race Driver:Grid. I seem to recall that both of these games looked quite decent on 3D Vision, right ?

If DS works well with 3DVision, it will provide an advantage in PvP since combat is so tactical and judging distance and weapon reach are critical to success.

I have a very weird problem with Dark Souls I Prepare to Die Edition on Steam since I upgraded to Win10. Before it was running just fine. It is like 1/4 of the image is rendering in 3D and the rest is rendering only in one eye. I tried the two different fixes on the Helix Mod page. The pic is not really clear, but you can see the graphic problem where everything renders mixed up:

turn off anti aliasing - worked for me. Or rather, Dark Souls in stereoscopic 3d always looked like that for me if anti aliasing was on. Other than having to turn of anti aliasing, it runs perfectly, in stereoscopic with no frame rate issues and full draw distance everywhere. I've played through that game multiple times on 360, PS3 and PC and must say that the PC version with the Helix Mod stereoscopic fix, is by far the best.

If you aren't already, make sure you use DSfix. It has fixes for anti aliasing problems I think as it has its own override, SSAO, resolution and frame rate unlocks. (must play at 60fps) along with everything else it fixes) I haven't played it for a while, but this game is on my list of the best 3dvision games (after both fixes) of all time
