Final Fantasy XIV 3D Vision fix (Possible??)
I actually set the final variable too 2500 and it has the same separation I need.. so basically this should be set the separation according to each users separation setting??
OK, great! Glad you were able to work out the details there. I made that a little more confusing than it needed to be. The canonical code on the wiki uses 'separation' as the variable name, to more closely match NVidia's term of separation that we use Ctrl-F4/F5 to set. This is also 'depth', but is not as clear The number you are using there of 2500 is essentially random, based on whatever the game needs. It's not related to separation or convergence, it's game specific based on whatever they used in the game to set the far plane. That's why your experimentation was so good, you can dink around with numbers to see what works. As long as it doesn't look bad when you vary convergence or separation, then it's good.

Hey Nephilim, do you know if something can be done with the clouds? I see you made a comment on the helix page about fixing it in the nvidia control panel.... not sure what you meant though

what is wrong with the clouds.. I should have fixed them from before??

// Cumulus Clouds to near infinity float4 stereo = StereoParams.Load(0); float depth = stereo.x; float convergence = stereo.y; o0.x += depth * 2500; If you can goto the fix and look in shaderfixes folder and look for these 2 files: 89956a3b22e3e115-vs_replace 7731b1f1d02a75aa-vs_replace Open them as they are text files with Notepadd ++.. Once in there goto about line 110- 114 look for the above fix see where it is 2500 that is a variable and can be changed,.. It usually only needs to be 1.0 but the clouds had a weird skybox.. But before you change anything are they not showing in Stereo?? IF so was there an update since October when I did this latest 3.1 fix?? IF there was an update they could have changed the shaders.. Also the fix I was talking about in NVCP was to turn Shader Cache OFF in there..

float4 stereo = StereoParams.Load(0);
float depth = stereo.x;
float convergence = stereo.y;
o0.x += depth * 2500;

They do show in stereo but at the wrong depth so it looks blurry and double imaged when I look at the sky with clouds. I don't think any updates changed any of this.

89956a3b22e3e115-vs_replace 7731b1f1d02a75aa-vs_replace OK, lets try something as I don't have a sub right now. goto the shaderfixes folder and look for this code should be about line 110-114: // Cumulus Clouds to near infinity float4 stereo = StereoParams.Load(0); float depth = stereo.x; float convergence = stereo.y; o0.x += depth * 2500; change the 2500 to a lesser number.. if you want measure a far object to see what the separation is you have.. Once you have the separation lower that number and try and make the clouds have about the same separation.. So try and find a distant try or mountain top.. IF you want you can try these too new files just backup the old ones and overwrite these new ones: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AgDOJnMP-19IhG8DWUpm0DhJlkLf I would try the 2nd option first as this would be more universal for all users and not dependent on each users depth setting as the number I modified for the cloud may be too much for you and others as I use about 3" of Seperation so maybe it sets it at that and the rest of your game may be lower in separation..

Also tried modifying that value default 2500 from the original fix, tried several values from 0-3000. When I go too low the clouds look 2d and is just as hard to look at than when it is 3d with double image.

OK what is the amount of separation in Inches on the clouds.. the 2 new files I set should set it to whatever you have your max separation at and there is not adjustment.. Let me know at a far point like a mountain top in inches what the sepeartion is and then the clouds.. Also if you post a screenshot of the clouds make sure there are just a few in the picture and a point we can see the double image. that last shot you sent it was hard to tell where the clouds where as there was so many..

Actually I need to backtrack my statement on double image, I dont think it is double. After looking more closely it just seems that its pushed at the wrong distance or something. I just hurts my eyes to look at. Also I think changing those values also changed some UI elements. I dont know what you mean by separation in inches on the clouds. The cloud problem also seems to appear mostly in the old areas like gridania, limsa, and uldah. There were no real high points in those areas. And there usually arent just a few clouds, its always a lot or none.

Well if you look at the image and it is not doubled without the 3D glasses on it is not in 3D so it will have no 3D effect and be in 2D.. When NVidia 3D Vision runs in 3D there is a double image with no glasses and usually depending on the separation you set in NCP.. I was just trying to find out if there was a difference in the separation between far away landmarks and the clouds.. Well I can try and study the pic you sent me but it looks like it is in 3D.. I do not currently have a sub and there are no plans ffor me to get one currently.. I have an Idea, try to set the 3D to Discover mode that way when you look at the clouds you should see a distinct red/cyan image.. If you can take a screenshot in Anaglyph mode and I can take a look..

Well looking at the screenshot you made the UI elements are not in 3D, Do you use the hotkeys to change the depth of the UI HUD Elements?? you can use the LEFT BRACKET key to change the convergence setting with that key.. it is for nameplates and HUD..
