After you install both of these mods enable the .esp for the Readius version of the Pipboy remover but do NOT enable the .esp for Readius Pipboy. If you see part of your arm missing in 3rd person view, simply set your armor to a hotkey and then remove and add the armor back after you exit the Pipboy.
This mod makes the Pipboy a nice-looking handheld LCD version, like a PDA, and also enables you crank convergence up in the game. With this mod installed, I have returned my Pipboy FOV back to default and everything looks great now. Well back to Gothic 3 w/Questpack 4.1 and CM2.1 for me - see you wanderers in New Vegas later!

Thanks for this I'll check it out.
I'm also interested however in the questpack 4.1 you mention, I've googled it and it looks that it's mostly in german, any english version available? Also, is there a way to fix the sky being at the wrong depth in Gothic 3?

I have not seen a fix for the sky but it's a minor issue to me, especially since I turn off the in-game crosshair and use the Nvidia one.
The added quests have German voices but someone translated the text into English and the quest text and subtitles will be in English. If you look at post #46 it explains exactly what to install and in what order to make it work. Apparently they are making an English version of the Questpack but there is no ETA on that and I don't have a problem with the German audio, ala Nehrim, and need something to play now. I am only at Cape Dun but I already have done some extra quests and have seen the improvements in the game with items, NPCs, etc. If you want to give this a shot I would recommended making a copy of your Gothic 3 game and doing a fresh install of the things listed there.
For some reason I had to modify the Fallout_default.ini file in the actual game directory because the one in the documents folder keeps get over-written, even when I turn read-only off.
Well anyway, since I prefer to set convergence in 1st person games by trying to make a single image of a held weapon, it cause my pipboy to become unreadable. What I did was alter the line fPipboy1stPersonFOV to something higher like 65. This just makes the character hold his arm out farther. So while this makes the pipboy appear smaller on the screen, it also made it readable with my higher convergence setting.
By the way, I also turned my fDefault1stPersonFOV setting to 70 since 55 looks too small of a FOV for me on my monitor.
How did you get this to work? no matter what i do, i cant use either of those .ini files to change the pipboy fov. I cant change teh default fov either, have to type command in console every time i start playing, which isnt too big of a deal, but i really want to change that pipboy FOV. The weird thing is that the values are actually staying in the .ini, but there is not change in-game.

Hate to play threadcromancer and bring this ancient one back from the beyond, but I just figured out how to fix the pipboy in 3D. I was having this same problem and this is the fix.
There is a setting under the Fallout3 options menu(the one that launches before game start) called shadows. Set your options as follows:
Shadow Quality: Medium
Shadow Filtering: High
Max Interior Shadows: 4
Max Exterior Shadows: 2
This gets rid of that annoying triangle looking shadow thing that breaks the pipboy screen in 3D. You can do like I did and hit the ultra setting and then go into shadows and turn the stuff down. Apparently Bethesda broke the shadows in the game with the latest update. This should take care of it. Let me know if it works for you or not.

This mod makes the Pipboy a nice-looking LCD version and also enables you crank convergence up in the game.

I had to modify the Fallout_default.ini file that is located in the Fallout New Vegas folder residing in the Steam folder.
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps....
Sorry, I am at work and can't remember the exact folder structure.

I have some games waiting around before going for Gothic 3 so I think I'll wait until there's a full english release, thanks though :)
