3D Surround Setup single dlp and big screen vs 3d surround triple lcd
I think the best game experience is a big screen with a dlp projector, since i play games with 3d vision, dlp projector 3D, and a 72 screen, i dont want play anymore in my 22 inch 3d monitor; but what happens with a 3D surround with triple lcd ?, is more inmersive than a single dlp projector with a big screen?, what happens with borders of monitors ?...

3 projectors viewsonic PJD6210-3D and GTX-295 is compatible with 3d surround ?, the total screen size is the triple of a single setup?

thanks

I've been using 3 22" monitors with triplehead2go for surround gaming for the last several months and it's literally as immersive as my 72" DLP projector also.

The monitor bezels don't actually bother me at all.. it would be nice if they weren't there, but they certainly don't add anything in the way of distraction.

I cannot wait until Nvidia releases their 3d Vision Surround drivers in about a week !! :D

You'd think we could get beta ones by now..

Hm, the PJD6210 projector uses VGA input, as far as I know the GTX 295 has two dvi ports (you could use dvi to vga adapters) and an hdmi? port? (someone
correct me if I'm mistaken).. and I don't know if it's possible to go from HDMI to VGA..

So you might not be able to get triple screens on a 295 if all the screens are using VGA inputs..

And yes, total screen size is usually, take 1 of the screens native res and multiply that by 3. So 1680x1050 X 3 =5040x1050.

I'm waiting for Asus to release their 27" 1920x1080 panels so I can get 3 of them for 3dvision surround and connect those to (3) GTX 480s in Tri-SL. I was thinking of getting a projector for the large screen, but I like having that wide fov + 3d, especially for racing games. I just don't have the wall space + throw distance to get 3 projectors. Can't wait :)

im personally waiting on the triple screen thing until we get faster cards.... im not sure if the sli fermi will max out the visual details on the 3d surround (maybe soon though)- and thats what is most important to me. im going for a 1080p projector and a 120 inch screen with insane visual quality. whenever the cards are fast enough for triple at really high visuals- ill go 3d surround projectors! To each there own!

Murry- be very careful with the tri or the quad sli and 3d- the support thus far has been very poor. my quad sli is slower than a single 295 in 3d at the moment....

I love gaming on my 60" but I can't even begin to imagine how cool a triple 27" setup would be, especially for racing games, which have become my favorite genre lately (pair that up with an obutto gaming desk and a logitech g27 or a fanatec wheel for omg goodness lol). Sadly my apartment doesn't have the space for a computer desk but having the PC in the living room with the TV as the monitor has worked well for me so far. The next setup will definitely be 3D surround for sure, unless they come out with a wraparound monitor that is not overly expensive (>$1000) in the next few years, which seems unlikely.

In my opinion the problem is that the field of view is too wide in with 3 16/9 monitors. Thats very unnatural for the eyes. I know setups with 3 4/3 monitors witch is really good. The 16/9 are already wide and setting up 3 side by side will only add to the peripheral vision and the images are very deformed. I have to test it myself to give a final judgement but I think one big screen is definitely better then three widscreen monitors, at costs and in visual experience.

Imo, the main problem with 3d vision surround, 3 monitors, is the cost ... in monitors and gpus to push those resolutions ...

By problem I mean I can't afford it. If you can go for it imo.

Even better ... 3 dlp projectors in 3d vision surround :)

The best I have ever experienced was a Dome Imax. This was even more emersive than 3D Imax because you have litteraly only screen around you. Thats what I call the feeling of beeing in the movie. As far as I know there is no home solution for curved screens and projection. I also don't know any 3D Dome cinema or movie.

That's what I'm going to try to do in my new media room. I'm currently looking at 120" diagonal screens and I am going to use rear projection so I don't have to worry about light levels in the room as much. I wanted 3 screens before 3DVS just to have multiple screens for NFL Sunday Ticket, etc. But originally they weren't all going to be the same size. It was going to be one large screen surrounded by 2 smaller screens possibly not even projectors but maybe large LCDs or Plasmas.

I still don't want to be tied down to the current 720p options so I may still do a 2D projector that can be used as an alternate for viewing on the middle screen. I may even have it set to project larger than 120". Not sure how the masking is going to work or look on all of this yet--there is going to be a lot of blank projection area in some cases.

Another potential disadvantage is that you can't angle the side projectors in without messing up the 3D. Although this is an excuse for a much easier install of the projector surface!
