Stereoscopic driver for 6800GT
Ok so i bought a pair of red\cyan glasses and i want to play games in stereo 3D but i can't find the right driver.
I have an nVidia GeForce 6800GT from inno3d (256 gdd3\256bit).I have the latest 196.21 divers installed and running Windows XP Service Pack 3.
The question is what driver do i have to install, and what steps i should take to enable 3D stereo.

The latest drivers dont support 3d under XP, Vista/7 only. The old 3d drivers would probably work though.

A 6800 WOW thats an old card bet you have to wind the rubberbands pretty tight LOL

Once you experience the stereo 3D you are going to be hooked

I would suggest upgrade,upgrade,upgrade

Enjoy!

Don't say that! :P
I assume that you play older games and then you'll have more supported games in the oldies as the support is now. Install the 91.31 drivers+91.31stereo and you'll have plenty of stereooptions + games to play. I always save my old 7900 for these kind of occasions. Happy gaming!
Aliens vs predator games (avp2 for example) as well as the old tomb raider (2,3,4,5) games are awesome in 3d even if you can count the polygons. /haha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':haha:' />

Do you need the older glasses (E-Dimensional) for this to work? Thanks.

It works perfectly with the e-d's (the DDC VGA Glasses option) but you need a compatible monitor (crt or compatible dlp-projector). Lcd's are generally too poor to shift images quickly enough to be compatible.
And also: Maximum winxp is supported.

The 6800GT isn't even on the compatibility list for 3DVision, http://www.nvidia.com/object/3D_Vision_Requirements.html

Since the original poster asks for drivers regarding the 6800 this only applies to nvidia old-school stereosolution. It has nothing in common with 3d-vision. Using winxp and 91.31 combo you have a number of different stereomodes to choose from and more games supported than 3d-vision supports today. Old games yes, but still a lot more.

It is definitely outdated, I'm sure you have to run everything on its lowest settings.

I just want to be sure: You mean a 6800 right? Not an 8600 which do not work old-school.
Besides: You need to activate the classic nvidia control panel for the stereooptions to show. The new (at that time new) panel doesn't show any stereooptions.
I think the classic panel easily can be switched to in the 91.31 drivers but if they aren't you need a regfix for this:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies]
"ContextUIPolicy"=dword:00000001
"TaskbarUIPolicy"=dword:00000002
"CplGroupUIPolicy"=dword:00000003
"SedonaDisable"=dword:00000000
Copy everything in the codebox into a textfile. Then rename the textfile to "enable_classic_panel.reg" Doubleclick the file and select yes on adding to registry.
Done! (thank you nvidia for making things so easy....)
