3d stereo newbieness help us out here, wot do i have to do?
howdy.
i wanna try this 3d stereo stuff, but i dont wanna go broke, especially seeing as it mite not work.
i have a 6600GT with 256mb of memory.
im thinking about buying a second hand monitor (another philips 107E, a friend has one he doesnt use) and a dvi to vga converter, and doing the mirror option.
would the 6600GT be able to handle this?.
could i just use a cheap red/blue glasses on one monitor?
also does this all work on x64 windows, i dont have 32 bit installed. and so its gunna be a B*%& unless sum1 helps me with a trick to put 32 bit back on without nuking 64 bit

Yes just choose the "Anaglyph (red/blue glasses)" in Stereo Type under Stereo Properties in the Nvidia Display window. I did that with BF2 and You can see the pics here (go to the bottom):

Sorry, the stereo driver doesn't install on Win XP 64bit. Donno why.
Dual core and SLI might not work either I think (not sure).
When gaming in stereo the frames pr sec is about half of normal, but it looks awesome.

mmm the driver did install in windows x64, (or at least the install didnt fail) and its under add/remove.
i can just see no evidence that it exists.
then again, everyone else seems to have nivida utilites etc that i dont have?
i believe the 2 philips monitor will work, not sure how the graphics card might handle it, but i will try it.
first things first but, i need a real techie, to tell me how to install windows xp professional (i have discs and cd key), without killing my windows xp pro x64 edition version.
ive got a 200gb SATA2 hdd, in 2 partitions, a 20gb for windows and the rest 180GB for storage (incase windows gets infected with virii, i still have my files)
so how can i chop out 20gb of my storage and install 32 bit on it?
ohh and with the red/blue glasses, does it make the game grey? or is it in full colour still?
