Thx for your helping hands and understanding our arguments!
Im responsible for our 3D Vision thread and translated things like importing new profile to a game and so on.
If Id get this tweaking with TR2016 running by myself, I would translate this workaround in our thread for hundreds of 3D Vision Follwers in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. That could be a little contribution from myself to your awesome work.

I can take another look at the hair, but I didn't notice any negative effects caused by the artefact on the physics velocity buffer, but then again I'm on a single GPU, only about 10 minutes into the game and I had to turn off pure hair after the first cutscene with a closeup of Lara's face because that murders my frame rate. It sounds like the worst problems are restricted to SLI, which I can't test until I buy an SLI rig. Edit: I think I see it - a kind of wriggle effect on the hair?
I am seeing an issue with the specular highlights now that I'm far enough for her to remove her hoodie - did you take a look at that already Helifax?

Yes, that is exactly it;) The stuttering, wriggle effect on the hair. Is best seen when you AIM and move the view left/right. You will also see the banding effect from the velocity vector. Is transparent but distorts the image enough to see it.
I looked a bit on the specular reflections on her hair. Found 2 PS shaders. One that it looks like a straight copy and no v0 and no matrix multiplication and one where if I correct things it starts looking better in some angles but wrong in others!
The best results was NOT to correct the specularity in those shaders! I see the exact same type of colour inversion in the GOD Rays PS. If I push it to depth in some angles I get a colour inversion in one eye.
Looking at what vertex shaders are attached to the PS I always find one VS so there is definitely only one VS sending info to this PS shader. Can't explain this colour inversion though...
I think the same colour inversion is seen here with the Hair... Haven't seen anything like this before though...

It seems I missed a couple of posts from above:
It seems there is a bit of confusion floating around and that leaves a bit sour taste in my mouth.
First of all we are not part of the developing team (nor Crystal Dynamics, nor Nixxies) and we don't have access directly to the code.
All of our fixes resolve on a lot of reverse-engineering which is significantly more complicated than fordward programming.
There are rules that we cannot break or alter. For example: if the engine (CPU) decides to send wrong data to the shaders(GPU) there is little we can do about it! (It is true we could hack the engine via ASM and change
the beviour from there - like I do in my Surround fixes, but in practice this is a complex task which requires to know a lot of things in advance, things that we mostly don't know).
I see a lot of discussions pinned on this TressFX/PureHair option. Some people are even comparing the lack of it to PS3 quality. In the same time they basically ignore the fact that a lot of effort was spent in actually fixing
the WHOLE game (in all aspects) which took a lot of time for a lot of people. We did try to fix the Hair option but it seems the engine (CPU) is confused when the game is rendering in Stereo. I don't know if this can be fixed by us.
Like I previous said, this issue was present in TR 2013 as well where the hair would glitch in 3D Vision and that wasn't addressed either so far. Like explained, I think is a limitation in the game engine itself and not something we can
fix!
What is more and the thing that really makes me feel un-easy, is that the fix is not even out and we get debates like this that gives me the impression that are to blame since we don't support it properly (cause it doesn't work)
Dear users! If you want to blame someone don't blame US, blame the developers and go ask them to fix it or better yet implement it properly in stereo 3D. But... they don't care.
I remember a time when even if we disabled the shadows in a game and post a fix (incomplete like that) that made the game playable in 3D Vision, it would be greatly appreciated.
It seems that people got acustomed with the community providing quality and COMPLETE 3D Vision fixes and when something doesn't work, life suddently is less "PINK".
To be frank: We are not employed by Nvidia or any company to do this work! We don't ask for anything in return and never have! I for one, always accepted donations but there was NO pressure or even a HINT from my part
that without it, I wouldn't finish a fix! (Actually I got many more donations over the years from my Surround fixes rather than 3D Vision fixes.)
Now, some of you don't probably understand that a 3D Vision fix is a very COMPLEX piece of software. We do it in our free time, yes! Sometimes we need to make "that free" time and take it from other places (Watching TV,
spending time with friends/family, etc). We do this because we are passionate about programming, solving puzzles, computer games and graphics (each one has his/her own motivation).
Is because of this passion we are releasing the fixes to the community so others can share our enthusiasm as well!
After all "sharing is carring" :)
The reason I wanted to post this is to make people REMEMBER that we have no obligations towards anyone! We could just post a fix and never reply to any questions.
We do reply because we want to help as many people from the community (which is very limited as it is) experiment the same thing as us! And that we believe that through communication and constructive criticism many good things can be achieved!

99% of users here are not agree with this statement. Actually it was only one guy -and he confess it was a mistake. Don't take it personally, there will always be people who don't realize how much work it is to mod/to fix a game!
Instead focus on every guys here who can't wait to play the game with your 3d fix, with or without this damned hair!

Didn't take it personally;) I just wanted to "publish" a friendly reminder/explainer to all the new people around. I don't blame them for not knowing or understanding how things are:)
Many of us are part of this community for a long time and we all know what is what:) but new members always join and I just wanted to explain why they can't have the same demands/expectations from us as they can/could have from the developer of the software/game. ;)
I would also love everything to work out of the box, like everyone else does, but sadly is not working like that... and we have to do with what we can, as best as we can:)
Where is the donate button :-)
Heh:) Maybe it will appear on the page at some point :)) after the fix is released and everything is working as intended;)

Tu put it simply: we love you guys (all the fixers involved in delivering the hundreds of hours of 3d gaming pure fun). In all communities, there are some frustrated, excessively demanding people. Just ignore them, they're not worth any of your precious time. The vast majority of us is truly grateful and admirative for your great accomplishments... You provided us with the best entertainment pieces for years. So "chapeau bas les artistes", you're free to go on, to pause, to stop, to freeze, to deliver awful fixes...we will still love you for everything you've done! Thanks again guys and looking forward to your next releases (no rush!!!!)

Seriously, a donate button is needed. These guys deserve it. For DarkStarSword I just found the link in his signature, which I copy/paste here (if I'm allowed) for others to see it:
https://www.patreon.com/DarkStarSword?ty=h
But for Helifax, whom if I'm correct is the one doing the bigger part of the work for this particular fix, I can't seem to find any links, not even on helix-mod. Is it ok if I write you a pvt message to get instructions? Is this the way?
Let me say this: these guys here deserves support. In anyway we can provide it. I personally don't know a thing about programming, and I couldn't help with the fix in any way. Maybe some of the people in this forum are too young to have a salary of their own, and thus are unable to donate, but for us "adults", we should feel obliged to. Even if it is a small amount, a lot of small amounts could be something.
We spend money everyday for things we don't care much about. And here are these guys... Performing "3D miracles" for free and delivering them to us. Developers don't give a s**t about us 3D players, and if it wasn't for these guys, I think I woldn't even play videogames anymore. Once I've tried 3D, couldn't play 2D anymore.
But please Helifax, DarkStarSword, Mike... don't pay too much attention to people who forget to show at least some appreciation for your work, and only remembers to complain. I'm not speaking about someone in particular, but in general. For 1 of them, I think and hope there is 100 of us, maybe we are just more "silent". And if someone thinks this is "sucking balls", I call it support and being polite.
Cheers from Italy ;-)

No problem but please think before posting, our fixers read this discussion, you would not want to disgust them with unwarranted comments.
@helifax
Could we hope for a fix without Purehair first, and then maybe an update after you find a solution to fix it correctly? Actually many guys can play the game without badass hair effects (even if it would be the cherry on the cake indeed)...
It wasnt my intention to disgust the fixers. I dont even know why someone would be disgusted anyway as we all know the people to blame here are nvidia and the developers. The fixers like helifax are doing their best and i totally appreciate. I am playing in 3D with or without purehair, i did not ask anyone to fix it or complained about the fix, who am I to ask someone to fix something for free anyway. whatever you guys release will be great. I just gave my opinion and said the game looks bad without purehair, well no need to be offended for something like that... didnt mean all the work in the fix will be in vain if there is no purehair. Sorry if somehow it looked like it.

I didn't take it personal and it wasn't targeted at you! :)
I wanted to target it to the general public instead! Sure, I did give an the PureHair debate as an example just because it fit into what I wanted to say: There are things that we can't fix and while we are the first ones who would like to fix them, sometimes they are out of our scope.
The rest of the part was targeted to the mass-audience since we did got this in the past, where some people are expecting to fix every game that is released and to do it like we are the developers;)
While we would LOVE to do that, our time is very limited and sometimes other things appear that are beyond our control;)
It was more of an "awarnes" speech than anything else and it wasn't POINTED to anyone in particular;)
Now a question to other shaderhackers with access to HelixMod:
- I remember that at some point (a while ago) eqzitara gave me access to both the blog and to amazonaws for storing the fixes. While I use my blog access, I think I only used once the amazonaws server to store a fix.
I was thinking to store this fix both on my webserver (as a back-up) and on the amazonaws, but I can't seem to remember even the page to login into (embarrassing, I know). Hopefully I still remember my user/pass or there is a way to recover/reset it.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? ^_^
Edit:
Made a video showing how you can Export/Import Nvidia Profiles with Geforce 3D Profile Manager. Is attached in the Fix thread of the game as well in here:

Yeah, for this particular fix it cannot be understated just how much work Helifax has put into it - I've helped out with a few pieces here and there, and some of my work has been used in it, but I don't really consider this to be one of "my" fixes. Helifax has put literally hundreds of hours into it and the fix simply would not have happened without him. Also, let's not forget that mike_ar69 has also played a critical role in developing this fix (he does not have a donation link, but I'm sure he would not turn down an offer to buy him a game to say thanks).
And of course, credit to the 3DMigoto developers: Bo3b (core dev), Chiri (original dev), DarkStarSword (core dev) & Flugan (contributed the assembler, which my the looks of the WIP Helifax sent me was pretty crucial to this fix - he is accepting donations as well)

I have the Accel adapter and while the emitter flashes quite a few times and starting a 3D app once it starts working I don't lose the sync or have any other problems. It just likes to flash 2-3 times until it actually "stabilizes" and 3D starts. I don't know if you tried it or not, but be sure to disable USB Power Savings (or what is called) under Windows. This will prevent Windows to CUT power to the USB ports and thus making the adapter generate the flashes.
Hope this helps;)
I plugged the adapter directly into a USB wall adapter that I tested works at 1 amp to ensure it was getting enough power. I'm really at a loss as to why both adapters have so many issues :(

Greetings from Austria, Ron.

Heh:) Maybe it will appear on the page at some point :)) after the fix is released and everything is working as intended;)
