YAGP ( Yet Another Ghosting Post ) could USB link affect ghosting ?
Ghosting issues have been discussed deeply, but with this topic I'd like to describe another point of view.

I have an ASUS P5W deluxe series, that has included IR receiver. The producer suggests to connect this USB receiver to a determined port to achieve best compatibility and performance. This has nothing to do with S3d, it is only an example to get closer to my ipothesis: [b]could USB link someway affects the exact 120Hz glasses synchronization[/b] ?

I read on this forum and others of people having various kind of problems using USB hubs (me too [url="http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=97141"]had[/url] to disconnect one), this seems to support my theory. And again, USB ports are nowadays widely used (i have 8 on my PC) so that almost all PC have a "front port" maybe with audio in/out too...This added ports are often connected to the motherboard via some case-proprietary cable (maybe a low quality one) that could introduce/interfere with USB latency.

A little out-of-synch between IR transmitter signal (southbridge->USB->IR->Glasses) and video (northbridge->AGP Bus->DVIDL->screen) would [i]for sure[/i] introduce ghosting, as the right eye would see also (part of) the left-eye frame.


Are you using the USB ports embedded in the MoBo or external ones ?

I Maby this is the same problem why some people have thier glasses randomly just turn on and off . This use to happen to me because i changed motherboards ie they have diffrent usb ports. So im jus assuming thats probably the main problem.

It is definitely synchronization problem, it could be ok but for that nvidia programmers have to repair it.
