I'am about to buy a Full HD 3D 50'' Panasonic Plasma TV set (VT20E in Europe = VT25 in USA).
I have a very powerfull PCHC with a 295 GTX ready to play 3D games on the plasma... and 3D Bluray too with PowerDVD 10 Ultra on it...

3DTVplay will only allow stereo-1080p at 24FPS. This is ver very low for gaming. If you want some useable framerate, you'll have to use stereo-720p (allows 50/60fps). And there is an unknown : since 3DTV play is not available we do not know yet if 3DTV play will allow you choose or if it will force stereo720p straight away when playing games.

You will need the Nvidia 3DTV Play but it is not available yet. Also I think that set supports side-by-side so you might be able to use the iz3d driver as well.

I think that it's because of the HDMI 1.3 output limitation...
With Samsung Syncmaster 2233RZ and new 1080p LCDs, the Nvidia card is using the dual DVI cable... There is no HDMI limitation...
If the 3DTV Play software is sending the 2 videos frames in one time, it's not possible to have 50 or 60 hrtz in 2x1080p resolution because of HDMI 1.3 limitation...
But 2x1080p@24 is possible. The HDMI 1.3 can't go further... But did you ever tried to play in 24p ? Is it really unplayable ? I will try it in 2D...

i would pass on this generation of 3d tvs. they lack 1080p gaming, they are too small and too expensive. 1080p gaming is a non mandatory format in the 1.4 a specs, but tv makers have not figured out that lots of people game on PC not just consul. really 1.3 is capable of handling the bandwidth for 1080p gaming just like 1.4a- there is no real difference in the HDMI bandwidth, it just that 1.4a gave us standards that hardware can automatically detect making things easier for the end user.

the hdmi 1.3 ports in modern graphic cards can all output 1080p@120hz (but no tv out that actually accepts the signal)

2x1920x1080x60 = 248832000 pixels / second

But at 50 hrtz it's quite the same bandwith : 2x1920x1080x50 = 207360000 pixels / second
And at 48 hrtz the bandwith is 199065600... less than 4K x 2K @24p... Perhaps an HDMI 1.4 3DTV set could accept this resolution...
But you are right about Dual DVI : It's the only way to have 3D 1080@60p on big 3DTV... or with displayport...

But you are right about Dual DVI : It's the only way to have 3D 1080@60p on big 3DTV... or with displayport...
