Jas.. I have a mini hdmi running out of my gtx460 card to an hdmi input on the tv

Hey Dog,
So I take it your are using the 3D Play software?

But you still need the 3D Vision kit just because you need the emitter to use the 3D play software?

I think that's right!

Now for me to have 3D gaming on my tv I need a new pair of graphics cards or a large single one maybe as it won't run from my 8800gtx's.

To have 3D gaming on a monitor I need to buy a new 3D ready monitor, this one looks like one to get but not released yet Acer HS244HQ, another minefield there picking a decent one.

To be able to do both I need to spend about £600 to £1200, now I wasn't expecting that.

Okay .. I have no idea what I am doing wrong.

I installed latest drivers ... downloaded the 3d play software.. and I still can not get this to work right with my 3d tv.

In the Nvidia control panel .. in the stereoscopic 3d settings .. it recognizes that I have 1.4 hdmi plugged in .. but everything else grayed out.
I have run the set up wizard and done the 3d test .. and this WORKS great! .. but and games that I try to run in 3d will not work.
I also notice that in the control panel that it is still suggesting that I upgrade to 3dtv play .. even through I have already activated it.

What am I missing??
[/quote]Go to device manager>Universal serial bus controllers>nvidia stereo 3d USB controller. Right click to "properites" select 'driver' tab, 'update drivers', then 'browse' navigate to your CD1.xx folder.
Also, see if device manager is reporting an "unknown device" and take the same driver update steps.

Acer HS244HQ released in my area (Hong Kong). HKD3480. But what I worry is:

3D Vision blog, had some coverage of that monitor and they believe that it only supports 3D over the HDMI cable. No support for Dual link DVI.
If that's true, you're restricted to 3D @720P/60Hz or 1080P/24Hz.
i.e. You can't play at the native resolution @60Hz.

Seems very short sighted to me.
