It also worked with the splitter. I've just installed the latest drivers again. I have a EVGA nVidia GTX460 videocard. No it wasn't an upgrade from Vista.

The reason I asked if it was a Vista upgrade, is because W7 uses a different detection.
Unlike the hotplug activity under Windows Vista, the default settings are not applied when a new display is hotplugged, and there is no message balloon alert stating that a new display was detected. Under Windows 7, all display connection and detection events are handled through the Windows 7 Connecting and Configuring Displays (CCD) mechanism.

Yeah, something is up with your hardware, as D-Man11 says, with all the certified components it should be plug and play. GTX460 is fine. Current or latest drivers should be fine.
When it's not working, what does it think your projector is? CRT? Unknown VGA?
That's the problem to solve. It can cause all the other problems.
Try direct connect with HDMI, no splitter. Try different cables. Does the pyramid light with a low-brightness green when you boot (some recently are disabled at boot).
Plug emitter into different USB.
Basically, try to narrow down the failure point.

I've tried different cables, I also tried to connect the projector without the splitter, I also tried only a HDMI cable (HDMI > HDMI mini) and a DVI to HDMI. I also tried emitter into different USB.
The computer sees the H5360, the light is (low) green on the emitter. In the menu of nVidia control panel you can see the H5360. But as soon as I want to do the set up there's no projector to be found.
Now I'm really confused and I don't know what to do next.
EDIT:
I found this: http://3dvision-blog.com/4100-how-to-use-any-3d-dlp-projector-together-with-3d-vision/ and I knew that I had an adapter somewhere. I found it but it wasn't the same as on the picture. It looks like a dual dvi connection. I tried it anyway and suddenly it worked!

Removing the id pins defaults you to generic crt mode.
Generic CRT mode does not provide HDCP.
Generic CRT mode has been removed by Nvidia in the past and may be disabled again.
If you indeed have an Acer H5360, there should be no reason that you would need to use this workaround.

Like I said I found an adapter VGA to DVI and it looks like Dual DVI (mine got a lot more pins). I didn't take out the two pins, I just tried and it seems to work. In the past I could keep my 'normal' Iiyama screen on when I watched 3D through the projector, but now that's not possible anymore. Now I have to use only the projector. I just watched Shrek in 3D with my little daughter and it looks great!
But i prefer the way it was, but for now I have to settle with this. I'm glad it's working again.

The problem might be with the EDID override that you used if you used one. Best thing might be to clean out the Display drivers and start from scratch.
How to remove an EDID override
This method will clear out unused/hidden ones
•Start [Select]
•My Computer [right-click]
•Properties [Select]
•Advanced System Settings {Select]
•Environment Variables [Select]
•New [Select] (Under User variables ...)
•Set field "Variable name" to devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices
•Set field "Variable value" to 1.
•OK [Select]
•OK [Select]
•Now go to Device Manager (Start->Computer->Properties [right click])
•Menu option "View" [Select]
•Menu option "Show hidden devices" [Select]
•Monitors [Select]
•Uninstall any greyed-out display device.
•Tick on the option "Delete all driver files for this device" (if applicable)
Now reboot or hotplug or use the driver installation disc for the Display.

I think I've figured it out, well in my case that is. As soon as I want to watch 3D I have to make sure that the projector is the only one. So I have to unplug the HDMI cable, that's next to the VGA on the projector. Then I have to go to the Control Panel of nVidia to switch on 3D Stereoscopic and then I have to run the setup again.
I also cleared out the unused/hidde ones like you said and there were like 5 or 6 unused ones. I don't know if that helped because it did not change anything. I did the same thing yesterday too what I wrote above. To make a long story short, it's finally working and now my next project is, to get the subs working again like they used too ;-)
I want to thank everybody for their input! Thanks guys!
