GLDirect unlocks 3D Vision support for older OpenGL titles

Relevant to your question: can you run the game in directx mode? At least on Windows 10 the game always crashes at boot for me (I don't remember if it crashes in OpenGL). I was trying to make a fix with dgVoodoo like with other old games, where I fix exactly what you say: HUD going out of the screen.

I don't have windows 10, still using windows 7 64bits. I can start the game using opengl render or dgvoodoo (using glide or directx). I have solved the 1st question using opengl render once I have changed SteroCutoff (using nvidia inspector) to "Use StereocutoffDepthNear). Using dgvoodoo with directx I can play 3D, but with several anomalies (lights, menu, etc). 3D Geometry is not as good as with opengl. Using dgvodoo with glide I get 3D (with some profiles, but wrong 3D geometry, bad lights, etc). Best experience so far is using opengl, but I have to disable fog and some wrong colors in the sky and wrong reflection in the water (for the moment). There is also a problem with menu letters. This is a bit of a mess, but at least I can play.

I got it to work. I had to enable a legacy feature on Windows 10 (mentioned in pcgamingwiki). With dgVoodoo, I saw that characters and some other geometry elements were very insensitive to convergence (recognized as far away by the game, in their "z" value). I made a z filter to fix that. Remaining issues: fire of torches and some leftover HUD elements affected by depth that the fix from another game didn't correct (I'll try cutoff values tomorrow, or I'll do a manual fix). This at least at the very start of the game.

I give up with dgVoodoo for this game. Even after fixing geometry (with some drawbacks), other things are still bad. I can't find a good way to fix torches, blood decals and water decals. Meanwhile, GLDirect shows those effects correctly. Bad things about GLDirect: - Water reflections become 2D after using StereoCutoffDepthNear to fix the HUD. They were correct with dgVoodoo. - The main menu background doesn't appear. - Longer loading times. But it's still better than using dgVoodoo. I think I didn't have OpenGL available in the game, so I used this: http://www.moddb.com/games/severance-blade-of-darkness/downloads/newer-opengl-raster

Yes, I didn´t mention this game needs an opengl raster (the one you say is good, it fixes some fog anomalies) before using gldirect5 to play opengl with 3D Vision. There is also an important problem when using the gldirect5, when I leave the game I have to ctrl+alt+supr to force finish the process of the game. Even using stereocutofdepthnear (always talking about using opengl render) the menu is wrong. It is possible now to read text at least, but with anomalies when trying to navigate through different menus. I love gladiator mod for this game, and the name of the different maps you can choose in the mod is difficult to read because every new text cover the previous.

I have deleted the file "opengl32.dll" to play this game again in perfect 2D using the normal opengl raster (with fog). This game is awesome and very little in space compared to todays games, so I think I am never going to uninstall from my computer..., from time to time I spend a couple of hours playing with gladiator mod in some maps I like. The atmosfhere and mature taste of creators can still fight against any recent game. It is a pity this game can not be played in perfect 3D. If I do not delete opengl32.dll I have several anomalies even playing in 2D. Some colors change, fog is wrong, and the general graphics feeling is noticeable worse than without it. I have no idea how this file works, but it changes other things appart from allowing us to play using 3D vision. BTW, happy new year to all people.
