Crash Bandicoot™ N. Sane Trilogy
  3 / 3
@masterotaku What was obvious from the beginning is now accidentally confirmed. Spyro trilogy will be released on PC. Would you be as much interested in making the fix as you were with Crash? I expect it to use the same game engine, and it would be awesome if I could hope for your 3D fix. Crash was SO MUCH more enjoyable thanks to 3D Vision, but I finished it and am too old to even try getting 100% with all the secrets and challenges, so I kind of need the next fix ;) Unravel will have to do for the time being, I don't expect the Spyro game to be released for PC anytime soon. As always they will try to milk console gamers first before releasing objectively better version. edit: AWESOME!

Same for Kingdom Hearts games, whenever (if) that happens.

After dealing with Star Ocean for a long time, I've noticed now that this Crash trilogy uses parallax occlusion mapping too (for some textures)! I've been trying to make it correct for all camera positions for hours and I haven't found a correct formula yet. I suspect that I need to pass the FOV value from shadows to these shaders (I got this idea just now, grrr). Time to sleep for today.

Mmmm, for parallax occlusion mapping, camera rotation is the issue in the VS (using the FOV value doesn't help), while doing it in the PS the problem is that the effect follows the object shape (meaning that it can be stereoized in any random axis here depending on how the object is placed)... I think it may be too hard and I'll leave it like this. Just a few elements use this effect in this game anyway and it would be a small extra nice thing to have. I think I was just lucky with Star Ocean :/.
