Hi, i had NVIDIA Stereo Vision on Ubuntu 16.04 working using the Stereo 10 Option and Composite Disabled in the xorg.conf This did not work on unity/gnome but it worked on xfce4.
After i updated to ubuntu 18.04 the screen stays blank if i have the composite still disabled. I also tried ubuntu-mate and gdm3 instead of lightdm. But always i get either a blank screen if composite is disabled in xorg.conf. If i enable it everything is working except stereo vision.
Has anybody, especially from the nvidia team any suggestion?

Also, I'm 99.99% certain that no one in this forum is using Ubuntu.
If you know of any stereoscopic gamers using Windows, tell them about http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/10/game-list-automatically-updated.html

(Debian, not Ubuntu, but they are related). Pretty sure Helifax used Linux as well... However, I don't do any stereoscopic work on Linux, so have not put any effort into getting it working nor followed any developments in the driver or xorg related to this and don't have any advice for the OP.
Another thing to know! not necessarily Linux related, more like Windows + OpenGL.
Apparently nVidia enabled support or QUAD BUFFER STEREO 3D in openGL some time ago ( a couple of months)
Today I did test it and indeed it is working:
- SLI supported
- FULLScreen support ONLY
- no 3D SUrround support only 1 monitor so far.

Maybe it helps people, as for me now I can play both in Linux and Windows in Opengl stereo 3D ..muhahaha:)))
I remembered helifax doing it, but he had to use a workaround for the USB emitter driver on a school project. I missed his post where he had since made it work with OpenGL games.
I also did forget that you used to work as a Linux Developer.
I hope OP got his problem resolved, anything rendered stereoscopically is a plus :)
