And what Metro Redux is all about... It was more of a retorical question... Why is Metro LL stil 3D Vision Ready and Metro 2033 (Redux) not 3D Vision Ready both are using the same engine now... In any case I pre-ordered both of them (even if I have the originals + all DLCS) and I will defo see for myself. I am dying to play Metro 2033 in Ranger Mode ^_^ PS: We already know by now that Nvidia's ratings aren't actually good...so who knows...
Can you tell the practical difference between "exellent" and "3D Vision Ready"?
3D Vision Ready means you have no any visual problems - you have real stereo with no bugs. Excellent rating is not predictable really - it may be similar to 3D Vision Ready with small bugs somewhere. Or it may mean compatible mode

Really hope this works in True 3D.. I think the improved outdoor lighting looks considerably better than the original IMHO.. These were two of the best 3D Vision games I've ever played and maybe one of the few games that I'll actually re-play.. So will def buy if fully 3D vision ready if only for the improved lighting and better AI. I love stealth games and Metro also made me jump out of my skin a few times..truly a terrifying game on a large screen projector.... best played alone in the dark....
I see no reason for a PC gamer to pick these up. Consoles? Yes. PC? Barely seems like an improvement.

My understanding is that it's not really a new engine, they've just ported 2033 to the LL engine, and given both games a bit of polish and TLC. If that's the case, they should almost definitely work perfectly in 3d.
My understanding is that they ported 2033 up and it's a pretty sizable improvement, and LL is less of an improvement but still tweaked, and it's still the version which includes all of the DLC. As for why a PC gamer should pick these up, 4A is a great PC developer who has done right by PC gamers. If you haven't played the original games, would like to play improved versions of them for your first experience, would like them to perform better while looking better, and want to support developers doing right by the PC community, I can see all those as being totally valid reasons to support their efforts. On top of that, if it has great 3D vision support, that's just one more reason to support a dev that does their best to support a technology we all love even though they get no Nvidia backing.

So how about it? Im interested in 2033 redux, but wont blind buy. If someone has the game, could you try 3d and test if the convergence is locked too?

I think 26th in north america, 29th the rest of the world. ~500 ppl are playing 2033 redux now so looks like it has been released in NA.
