Optoma HD66 Questions
So Ive been building this system for the past 5 months. I am about to make the final purchase of 3d vision kit, and need to iron out some details.
My System:
Display Optoma HD66 (not sure of manufacture date or firmware)
Comp:
Amd Phenom II X4 3.0ghz
Foxcon mobo8)
4gb ram
Gtx 470 latest drivers

I am seeing that my projector may have just been officially supported, shame on you nvidia since I bought this in October of 2010 because of what your "official" site said. I work hard for my money and have none to waste. My questions:

Is my display now working correctly? or will I need a hacked Inf?
I need to run a video cord from the pc to the projector, which needs to be 20 feet. is this viable?
I see that I need a specific cable either a dual link dvi or dvi to hdmi cable?
If I need dvi to hdmi will the hdmi end plug into the video card, because my projector only has hdmi 1.3 and VGA.
Unfortunately my gtx 470 only has mini hdmi will this be an issue?
If I need dual link dvi can I get a Dualdvi to vga adapter for the projector?
Which versions of the 3d Vision kit include HDMI to DVI and how long is it?

Sorry so many questions but I don't want to waste any money. I already purchased a 25ft hdmi cable that I see is not going to work. Thanks To everyone around here this is a very good community!

If its on our supported list, it should work.

Yes, just use a DVI to HDMI cable or HDMI cable.

This depends on what connectors your GPU has on it. Can you use DVI to HDMI cables which are available in many places even our own NVIDIA.com Store.

Yes see above, there are many adapters already available.

No Mini HDMI is just a connector size, doesnt affect functionality. We even sell a mini HDMI to HDMI cable on our store. You can buy these at most retailers.

You would need a regular single link DVI to VGA adapter and yes those are available many places. In general I do not recommend these since VGA tends to degrade our cable length. Again we sell this cable on our store

All kits sold in the US contain this cable. In EMEAI the cable isnt included. Its 10ft.

I had an early HD66 that did not have the Nvidia firmware...even though it said it did. I had to use the ACER hack.
However I have since had the firmware update and now it works 'officially' as an Optoma.
I do know that any HD66 you buy new today will have the proper firmware on it already.
Its a very good projector and is plenty bright and crisp. Anyone who complains about only using 1280/720 res have not seen how
immpressive it is in 3d. I run on a 16 x 9 100" screen and it is very very good.
Set AA to 32 if you have the option. Also enable the Geforce SSAA tool.

If you have dlp link glasses you should be able to use 3d tv play(not certain you will have to do some research.) Either way I'd still recommend going for 3d vision kit but still u may have a plan B.
