EDIT: Nvidias article on the GeForce site
http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/nvidia-shield
More table crap... No offence to anyone who is using tablets and stuff... but tablets are not meant for playing latest games and so on... While I liked the idea of the original shield... the shield table and the shield TV seems a bit off to me...
Instead nvidia should focus their efforts on proper GPUs and stereo/mono visualization rather than another embedded mobile android device..
I bet with only 25% of the money and effort spent on this tablet they would have made 3D Vision 100% times better... /sigh

3x 3D Vision Ready Asus VG278HE monitors (5760x1080).
Intel i9 9900K (overclocked to 5.3 and watercooled ofc).
Asus Maximus XI Hero Mobo.
16 GB Team Group T-Force Dark Pro DDR4 @ 3600.
Lots of Disks:
- Raid 0 - 256GB Sandisk Extreme SSD.
- Raid 0 - WD Black - 2TB.
- SanDisk SSD PLUS 480 GB.
- Intel 760p 256GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD.
Creative Sound Blaster Z.
Windows 10 x64 Pro.
etc
It's not really a tablet though. Although you did say table (and technically this thing sits on a table). Can't tell if that's a typo or not.
But, yeah, this initiative is idiotic on a ton of levels. 5 years in the making.
*Rewinds 5 years*
Oh, yeah, that's when OnLive was selling a garbage vision that nobody wanted (and had a ton of flaws).
Well Nvidia may be fashionably late, but they've finally arrived to that party. Could possibly explain why everyone seemed drunk last night (including the hosts on their stream). I mean, would you show up to this party sober?

Yeah, it is an intentional typo (I remember testing OnLive on an Intel Atom 7inch notebook and while OnLive "worked" and streamed my uber game:)) I couldn't really play the game on such a small display and keyboard and felt very very weird...) Hence the tablet typo. Basically what they want to offer is something that is comparable to a tablet (performance wise) and do some software streaming crap and hey!!! This is the new GAMING TREND (or something)...

Can't really believe they dumped 3D Vision and spent 5 YEARS for THIS CRAAAAP !!!!! (Technology wise I mean).
Hardware wise they did some nice hardware in these 5 years with BIG pros and BIG cons....
Still 5 years for this?!?!?! If I would have been at that party last night I would have gotten drunk with the speed of light at the sight of this news!!!
I expected to show at least a Prototype of a VR or something !!! (even if it would have manually soldered together...)

Nvidia!!! Nvidia, please stop it! =D
Oh my god, this guys are soo soo pitiful >_<
Nvidia, just get off the market useless piece of sh1t :D
I have no words, i really...
It's unbelievable, oohh :D
So disappointed. Just sticking an extra 4gb on a 980 would have been better than this.
Just making 3DTV Play work with HDMI 2.0 and its supported resolutions would have been better news.
It would probably take them half a day to implement and would make them loads of money.
They should spend more time on the forums finding out what their customers want instead of pissinv millions up the wall in the R&D department in their own little bubble with their heads up their arses!
What a let down.

You've got to be the dumbest individual in the world if you keep buying games on a device in which the software can be taken away from you at any time.

That's the thing I marvel at. There's a reason the consumer keeps rejecting this idea. WTF do I want to have my gaming content turned into the cable television cartel. This whole streaming "Utopia" is the worst possible scenario gaming could ever take. And that's ignoring the whole lag issue. And how, if VR does take off, it's completely incompatible with streaming on that ground alone. The speed of light is what it is after all.

If Microsoft had their way, everything would be cloud based and require a subscription.

That's one reason I don't play MMOs. All that time and effort and if the game doesn't do well, all the servers will shut down and you can't play anymore. I've learned my lesson with that when I use to play WoKF. Never played another MMO since.
In a way, that's kinda how GFWL was considering when it went down, games stopped working. That ship sunk HARD and everyone swam to Steam.
That steam controller is gonna alienate fighting game players. It could work for every other game though. I'll stick to the PS4 controller for PC.
Where are the VR and DX12 videos?
