My convergence is still locked in the game. It doesn't matter what I set in user.ini for convergence - it's still wayyyyyyyyy too much popout and makes the game unplayable. Alt tabbing and adjusting depth fixes shadows, but that's it.

Using latest drivers and fully updated game. Any tricks? Changing convergence in-game doesn't work.

I don't know about you, but at some point I ended up with two different folders for this game in 'My Documents" - a 'The Witcher 2' folder and a 'Witcher 2' folder. the user.ini file in the second one controls my settings: C:\Users\home\Documents\Witcher 2\Config\User.ini.

The following settings do a good drop of reducing pop-out, although I normally play the game with them at 1.50.

[Viewport]
ConvergenceClose=0
ConvergenceCutscene=1
ConvergenceInside=1.00
ConvergenceOutside=1.00

I'm using:

ConvergenceClose=0
ConvergenceCutscene=0.4
ConvergenceInside=0.4
ConvergenceOutside=0.4

With a big projected image and modified MonitorSize in registry. Gives me lots of depth without too much popout. With standard MonitorSize there just wasn't much depth but even then with the standard convergence settings I couldn't go 100% depth because the absolute convergence was way too high. Lowering the convergence settings in the ini file allowed me to increase depth way beyond the standard settings and having no more convergence than my eyes can handle :) This game really is breathtaking, and I have no 3d issues at all now.

I am using the (0.4 range) above on 100% depth with my 23"

It's too bad there's so much flickering on the right side of the screen when indoors, this game was so close to being perfect.

Press Ctrl-F11 (advanced 3D controls have to be enabled in the nVidia Control Panel). You might have to press it multiple times to get the best result.

Unfortunately some flickering renders beyond the frustum area of the screen, but you are right, I should enable that to have a more pleasant experience.

That's funny... I ended up with two folders the same way. Really messed me up for a second.

i just went SLI with 2x GTX560Ti and to my surprise i still have that 3d vision issue. With 3d vision enabled i get 20-30 fps without it the same. If i disable it from the nvidia control panel then i get 70-80fps. Ultra settings without uber sampling ofcourse. Not sure what to do.
And oh the game is patched to 2.1

I just installed this game and the convergence is locked and world shadows look a little bit off. The readme file says 2.1, is that the latest patch?

They locked the convergence (either with one of the patches, or one of the 3DVision driver profile updates, I forget which)

It's actually not that big of a deal with this game (normally I hate when they lock convergence) as they actually picked a good place to lock it

As for the shadows, it's a wonky bug that comes up randomly. Sometimes I've had to launch and exit the game 3-4 times to get it to start correctly without the flat shadows. One trick is that you can't alt-tab out of the game or it will mess up the shadows.

Another tip i read is that if you *do* alt tab out of the game, the shadows should fix themselves if you re-load your game.

Good Luck!

Thats the shadow issue I have and I have not been able to find a "cure" for it. I switched back and forth maybe 100times and it doesn't matter. You say you have to open and close the game a few times before it is fixed, what do you think may be causing this weird shadow effect? Its just enough to put a strain on the eyes to make it not playable. It's as if the shadows are floating a centimeter above the surface.

i also have problem with shadows and some lights.... In options i have to LOW some options (i dont remember right now, im not at home to see) and work fine (less annoying).

The other problem i found is in 3D mode with the last driver (296.10) i noticed a drop in FPS.... normally i have a 32 avg fps, but with this new driver a i have a 24-25 avg fps.... not playing anymore in 3D. I dont know is the profile or the driver it self (i have a 460GTX 1GB)
