World of Warcraft used to work flawlessly, now unplayable in 3D

I would highly recommend going back to the CD1.13 drivers for WOW. I did that today, went back from CD1.15 (samsung prob still), and it works FLAWLESSLY!!!! I wonder if they will fix this in the new update.

It was nice to play WOW without having my eyes flip and see my brain when I look at the map. Definitely recommend CD1.13

Well - it has been since November 2008 that WoW has not worked correctly with the latest 3D Vision drivers. I think nVidia customers have waited far long enough for a fix - Blizzard places all blame on nVidia (I have emails from support that state this). The last post from an nVidia rep said they were going to make this a top priority to figure out what is going on, but that appears to have been false information.
Can anyone anywhere give any type of status as to what is taking so long to get the drivers fixed? How about an ETA?!? We paid a a high price for the system and expect it to work as advertised, but at this point nVidia is hurting their reputation by ignoring the problem and not giving any way to resolve it.
Moving to older drivers DOES work, but the newer cards are throwing blue screens on Windows 7 boxes when the 3D Vision is toggled. Using the older drivers is getting to the point of not working as well if you have one of the latest video cards. We need a fix!

Not that this will make you feel much better as it is another "promise" of sorts... but andrew did says about a week ago that new drivers were coming in 1.5 weeks so we can keep our fingers crossed.

Took me some hours to set it up but i finally got it working with Wow.
Here are my comments and questions.
1- Why cant i get pass 60fps? I get 120+ all the time even in lagaran.. i know the gpu is rendering twice the images but i never pass 60 :(
2- Wished the hud wasnt on 2d.. my eyes hurt from trying to adjust to the hud each time..
3- Looks amazing.. but needs a little more push. :) since i cant see the hud because my eyes need to re focus constantly i feel it dimishes my gaming performance sometimes :(
i cant go back to the old drives because i have the new acer

It works for me! Everything A-OK. Even mouse curser is 3D. You just need to tweak it using a combo of Blizzard's in-game convergence settings and nVidia's convergence settings. Or something like that.
Whilst tweaking, make sure the mouse is at minimum sensitivity because it is ever-so fiddly and adjusting it the teeniest amount can mess it up...

So I guess this issue still persists in the new driver drop.
Can we get a comment from NVidia on when this is likely to be addressed, or at least a relative priority for this fix?
I would imagine that WOW is probably one of the more heavilly played 3DVision games, it doesn't reflect well on driver testing when something like this issue can persist for months.

I'm curious as to what level of 3D is acceptable to people that say it works. I've tried tweaking it for a long long time and the only way to make it not look broken is with the tiniest amount of 3D where you can barely notice the depth unless you're looking hard and that's depth INTO the screen. When WoW was working correctly, characters were popping OUT of the screen with as much depth as you wanted.
I'm really sad to see that this isn't fixed yet. I don't understand how each patch is breaking games that have worked fine in the past...I'm not sure if it's related to the profiles or the 3d vision code but I rarely get to use my 3d vision now that I upgraded to the alienware monitor that requires newer drivers.
Also I bought the asus g51j 3d laptop and there are no drivers available at all that work with WoW.

As long as i dont alt-tab out of game everything works fine. Map is at the correct depth, i get pop out when my character is zoomed in (brilliant when flying) and have depth set to maximum. Cursor works correctly, there is nothing i can fault.
There is only one time i started the game and things were at wrong depths eg character pointer on map. I also have to uncheck the hardware cursor option at the start of each new wow session.
If i alt-tab in and out of game i can quickly have things back to normal by clicking, not moving, the depth and convergence sliders in the game options.

Mate that isnt good. :(
All I can say is that I had to carefully mess about with the settings. Though it sounds like you have more than experimented with both ingame and nVidia converence settings.
TBH I seem to only have a little popout, prolly less than 10cm out of my 22" screen. But I can assure you it is full depth, which I am fussy about. All the larger objects now look heavy and flying mounts is often breathtaking.
Is there a way I can take screenies? I will show you...

Ok... I have spent literally hours of my life trying to get WOW to work in 3D again. I have tried what is in these posts (it worked for 1 day). I have tried to formulate everything out. None of the theories here are accurate. It is almost like a wrinkle in the picture for text (best way to describe it). The only advice I can give is to use CTRL-T when you want to look at the map and well....anything important. I use Xpadder with my 360 controller so I can map it.
I will create a new post for Andrew to see.

I know there has been posts about tweaking the settings yourself - but the results are still crap and really we shouldn't be doing this work. It is 100% nVidia's fault (they screwed up the drivers) and they just don't care about it. 11 million users of World of Warcraft and they just don't care - so much for opportunity knocking.
I had hopes with the new driver release but it has zero improvements or fixes. Instead, they decided to support Battlefield - the lamest game on the market right now....
I think it is clear nVidia has no plans to fix this problem - I also believe they don't even bother to read the forums. Blizzard doesn't care either - the 3D market is too low.
If your reading this thread - DO NOT BUY nVIDIA 3D VISION - its broke, has been broke for 1/2 a year - and no one cares it is broke. Stay far away from this solution, your better of saving your cash and getting something else (I would recommend an ATI setup at this point).

This confuses me, as i have no problems 99% of the time. Someone above is saying that everyones theories are inaccurate. All i can say is that i would notice if there were "wrinkles in the text" etc. It seems that different people are experiencing the game in 3d vision differently. I dont know why this is, presuming everyone is using the same drivers. Must be a combination of hardware and software?

Mate that isnt good. :(
All I can say is that I had to carefully mess about with the settings. Though it sounds like you have more than experimented with both ingame and nVidia converence settings.
TBH I seem to only have a little popout, prolly less than 10cm out of my 22" screen. But I can assure you it is full depth, which I am fussy about. All the larger objects now look heavy and flying mounts is often breathtaking.
Is there a way I can take screenies? I will show you...
