LG sorted that issue with the blue lifespan. It was a much bigger issue for the Samsung OLED which was using a different method for producing OLED screens then LG WGRB display. LG uses only a white OLED with color filters on top to create colors. Samsung actually used RGB OLED panels and blue had a shorter lifetime.
Anyway I'm on my third OLED and I love them. Way better picture for gaming in 4k vs. my previous 9700 LG 4k LCD. Night and day difference.

When you say this, is it because of the better blacks and that it has less ghosting because there's no pixel persistence?
Still OLEDs lifespan is measured in shelf life isn't it, being that it's organic? Or is it hours of usage? Time to read up on these.
It's a combination of blacks, color, intra-scene contrast that creates such a three dimensional picture is incredible, and thats even without 3D vision :). The instant switching pixel speed also makes a big difference as there is no smearing at all.
It's rated at 60 000 hours half life, and my first OLED is 3 years old and still looks the same as new, also haven't had any burn in issues at all and I use it mostly for gaming and do upto 8 hour sessions.

What about ghosting? I believe there are some limitations - like mandatory distance from screen and an angle - in other case you are getting it? What about brightness in glasses - is picture dim in 3d? Maybe you have seen 3d on a DLP projector and can compare image to it?
What LG tv model do you use btw?

I found an interesting thing when I was testing ROTTR in1440p in Top Bottom (community patch) to see the FPS gain:
When I first put 1440p, interlieved mode 3d vision didn't work of course, so I ran my TV in 3d TB mode and then clicked F11 to have proper 3d in Top Bottom. Working good... And then after checking a while, I switch back my TV to 2D mode and click F11 to return in 3dvision mode and boom game was in perfect 3d interlieved and still in 1440p scaled and it's looking good!
EDIT: in fact it is ROTR that allows ingame upscaled DSR ;)

I had to look at your link, I thought maybe DarkStarSword had refined his TnB and SBS tweaks to the point where he added it to the blog.
Good stuff to be able to play in 1080P without a 24Hz restriction.
Decided to migrate from 4K 55UB9500 (LED) to 55EF9500 (flat OLED) display. I agree with Conan481's assessment - picture looks GREAT! EDID mod works perfectly (including Deep Color support), with slightly better ghosting performance and improved minimum 3D viewing distance for OLED (including off-center angles). I had no change in gaming brightness, but my room setup does require full device brightness (OLED apparently has slightly reduced overall peak brightness from LED).
Beyond one CNET review's reference to 30,000 hour lifespan, I could not find any other reference describing the device's potential lifespan, although I read brighter display settings (and images) can reduce lifespan, while darker images and settings can lengthen lifespan. I plan to treat the OLED like my old plasma displays, by avoiding static images (like Desktop display) and turning the display off whenever I leave the room (also helps avoid image retention/burn-in, while reducing power consumption).
I also highly recommend LG's OLED as an almost perfect 3D gaming display, showcasing the community's superb fixes for games like Phantom Pain and Rise of the Tomb Raider, especially as prices for 2015 models continue to fall...
