Before 295.73 I played through about half of Dirt 3 with high settings and DX11 mode on (i also tested beta drivers without issues). With the 295.73 driver, the Dirt3.exe stops responding when the game is loading a track. The menu works fine and you can select a track, but before the start race menu pops up the .exe stops responding. The only way to get the game working is to force DX9 by modifying a config file. Didn't have a single freeze after forcing DX9. The game doesn't look as good in DX9, but I am at least playing again.

Yes, D3 crashes with the latest drivers in 3dvision and Nvidia has stated in the changelog that they are working on a fix for the next driver.

Unless I'm completely mistaken Dirt 3 works in DX11 mode on my machine using the latest WHQL drivers.

What are your specs? And are you using 3DVision?
Tried 296.1 driver and it fixed the DX11 crash, but now 3D Vision doesn't work. Forced DX9 and 3D Vision works again. In DX11 mode, the emitter turns on, but the screen doesn't render two separate images. The green 3D Vision game details flashes really quick and then disappears, so something is definitely wrong.

it was in driver prior to 296.10 that they stated that...
296.10 fixed it for me and with a couple of full screen/windowed mode switches at startup(ctrl+enter),i get dx11 working in 3d vision.

Using the 301.24 driver and Dirt 3 is running better than ever! I am able to get really smooth gameplay with settings maxed and it looks beautiful in 3D. I noticed nVidia updated the 3D Vision rating to excellent for the game and it really is looking excellent! I used to get bad FPS hits with a bunch of vehicles on the track, but this isn't happening now. Having smooth FPS in a game like Dirt3 is key to being able to make quick decisions, and I notice a big difference. Kudos nVidia!

yes this game runs really well in 3d. I have been writing to codemasters, asking them to kindly fix the water reflections in dirt 3, and add depth to the markers in the HuD, then the game would be practically 3d ready. it'd be such a shame to leave it as it is, so damn close to perfection. if enough dirt 3 fans manifest themselves for this, who knows, it might not be too late to see it happen.
