There is no z buffer depth or something like that on ps2 games, making it impossible to play them in 3d.

Not yet. With the attached patch I could activate stereo mode in pcsx2 in 720p, but there's no W depth info in all the shaders. If someone could fix the shaders in PCSX2\plugins\GSdx\res\*.fx it should be stereo. I can't do that at the moment.

But I am sure that back in PSEmuPro (before ePSXe), I chatted with an author of GPU plugin on IRC and he sent me a modified version of GPU plugin with z-depth implementation. Then it enabled PSEmu Pro to PS1 games in S3D (using 3dfx Banshee and 3d Revelator at that time)!! So I believe it is also doable for PCSX2! /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Also, old version of GSdx plugin seems works with 3D but newer version aftward removed the feature somehow:
Also wonder about the possibility of getting jpcsp (PSP emulator) to work on S3D as well! Too bad it is quite slow. May be due to written in java?? /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Some years ago I got Stereo3D working with PCSX (and the Iz3d driver), see thread: http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-PCSX2-in-stereoscopic-3D
I have attached an anaglyph image, sorry for low quality.
With an old Beta version 976 and an even older version of the gdx plugin, it worked back then, so its really only the shaders, I guess... Haven't bothered since then, because the gdx plugin was at a early stage then and had a lot of bugs, errors and speed problems. All is much better today, but 3D is still missing. Hopefully there can be done something in the shaders. I asked also the coder of the plugin but got no answer.
PCSX2 in 3D would be sooooo awesome! /spaz.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':spaz:' /> If only there was a Kickstarter project to fund... /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I really cant wait for 360 to be emulated, if it ever gets emulated. Games run DX9. That would add a HUGE library to 3d vision and would be quite a boon.

Hi e-ghost.I got very interested in the psx emu you've got working in 3d.I have a 3d extreme glasses(similar to to 3d revelator).Could you post a link in with the emu configured for playing in 3d?.There is a planty of good games in the Psx one and would be amazing to play them in 3d.Thank you in advance.

Sorry I lost that special PSEmu Pro GPU plugin long time ago due to disk crash. I don't have it anymore la. (I missed that too! Soul Calibur look so great with S3D back then!! After the pirate boss win, his twin blade fly cycle around him! Superb 3D!! /wallbash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wallbash:' />
Just barely remember so I could be wrong but I believe the GPU plugin that support S3D was from Lewpy, as I remember I IRC chatted with him before. He wrote the best Glide API GPU for PSEmu Pro and ePSXe. But Glide only work on 3dfx card and I was using 3dfx Banshee back then. Not sure if there is anymore "glide wrapper" still works nowadays..... /blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

so sad I lost the 3D-enabled GPU Plugin of PSEmu Pro. It may give us more hints on how to solve the limitation to PCSX2 also since they are similiar.....
two more articles I found about z-depth from Lewpy:
Unfortunately, the PSX architecture does not pass the depth information for the primitive's vertices to the GPU. So perspective-correct texturing is not possible, nor is improved hidden-surface removal via z-buffering, nor is mip-mapping/ansiotropic filtering (functions that requires depth information).
PS1 didn't had z-buffer, or just really bad that you had flipping polygons on eachother and glitches like that.
There's definitely depth on PS2. Boulotaur on Gaf got GeDoSaTo working with PCSX2 and you're capable of enabling SAO through it which requires a depth buffer to work.

Yes I read many article said PS2 and PS1 has no z-depth so impossible to emulate in 3D.
