Games you have played in 3D recently... and thought were good.
2 / 5
I really liked Avatar a lot. The 3D was second to none and the game was decent. Nothing special, but still reasonable gameplay. If you liked the movie you will like the game. Any 3D fan owes it to themselves to see this game in 3D. I thought FEAR2 looked nice. Also Mirror's Edge was pretty cool.
My favorite 3D game has definitely been Killing Floor. Smooth performance, no 2D sights in the game so they dont conflict with the 3D sights when you turn them on, you can increase convergence as high as you want w/o bad effects. When those crawlers jump at you or a husk shoots right past your head, you really sometimes wnat to duck.
I reckon I'm gonna get that Killing Floor, another guy at work said it was good as well, thanks Steiner :).

I know I'm going to end up getting Avatar one day, it's just that a few guys have said the game plays a bit lame, and for me, it doesn't matter how good it looks.. It's got to have the game play.
I put Fear2 in the sister thread [see 1st post] because of the HUD and cross hair, did you manage to fix this problem or was it just that it didn't bother you ?
I've got Mirrors Edge and will give it a try, N1 mate :).

Dragon Age is amazing, also Burnout and Batman of course. Two Worlds looks really good though crosshair gave some problems but good depth and amazing vistas. Devil May Cry 4 looks awesome but I don't know what to do to turn off shadows, I tried turning them off in options but they're still there.
FEAR2 looks nice but had some problems with lighting and cross hair too, same thing with Dark Messiah, depth is amazing but crosshair gives me headaches.
Any good terror game in 3d? Haven't tried Condemned, only checked Cryostasis but didn't work too well.

Hi Oblivioner, thanks for the feedback :) As for Terror games, some of us have our hopes pinned on this.. http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/108/1082359p1.html. not sure if it will get good 3D support yet though.
If you need one to be going on with you could try Left 4 Dead, I know the 1st one works well in 3D, I've not tried the 2nd one, maybe someone else will come along and let us know how it is in 3D.

I hope too that FEAR3 really takes terror in 3d to a new level. I heard that Dead Space was good but lighting looks bad, the only way to fix it is to lower depth and so it's pointless to play it in 3d. Also metro 2033 seems to be really good but I want to wait and play it with DirectX 11 so I'll wait until I can afford a 470 or 480.
About Left 4 dead, I heard about it being great in 3d but I was looking more for a deep experience with story and all instead of a shooter with zombies, thanks for the suggestion though.
Other games I've tried:
Battlefied BC 2: Overall it's great but lacks depth a bit.
Bioshock 2: Again it's doesn't give the feeling of being there, but good nonetheless.
Overlord 2: Amazing depth, turn shadows off, lighting can be annoying but bearable.
Sonic All stars Racing: someone suggested this one, on my setup it isn't worth it, almost no 3d
Tomb Raider Underworld: really good, one of the best
Grand Theft Auto 4: Looked really good, didn't play it much, just the first minutes of the game, a new patch has been released that fixed shadows and other stuff, maybe that will help with 3d too.
Everquest 2: Looked very good, but graphics are below par, it's an old game.
The Void: Didn't look right, sky was at wrong depth

Dark Void is exceptional, especially if you can turn PhysX on. Looks better than most other Unreal engine games out there in 3D.
Bioshock 2 is good if you play at 5% depth.
Dragon Age Awakenings is great aside from the odd looking party charater portraits. But they are easy to ignore.
I've tried these in 3D recently, but opted for 2D in the end:
GTA IV episodes (framerate)
Assassin's Creed 2 (glowy halos on bright objects & backgrounds)
Prototype (got dizzy with the jerky camera)
Just Cause 2 (framerate)
Metro 2033 (framerate)
The framerate issue is probably due to my single GTX260 setup!
I've been playing a lot of GTA 4: Episodes From Liberty City. It runs relatively well in 3D with enough eye candy turned down. I maintain 60+ in 2D, but I just can't bring myself to play any game in 2D. I also can't get enough of Just Cause 2 and also enjoy MLB 2K10 in 3D. That's about all I've been playing lately.
Burnout Paradise is a favorite of mine, too, but I get too bored playing that even though it's an excellent 3D experience. I also just purchased Trine on Steam and, even though not recommended, I think it's pretty good in 3D and a great game.

I never new there was a Golden eye mod for Source, I have'nt even got round to trying CS source yet [too busy on NFS Shift], but I'll put it on my to do list.. Thanks Nic :).
Drakensang - looks good, some minor issues
Is this game like Oblivion.. I loved Oblivion [although I played it on PS3 as it was a gift]. Sounds interesting though /yes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I'm thinking of getting that JC2, just not sure if it's aimed at a slightly lower age bracket than the 1 I'm in.
Thanks to every1 for the tips, there's some really useful stuff in there :).

FEAR2 looks nice but had some problems with lighting and cross hair too, same thing with Dark Messiah, depth is amazing but crosshair gives me headaches.
Any good terror game in 3d? Haven't tried Condemned, only checked Cryostasis but didn't work too well.

The game is just outstanding in 3D

Bioshock 2 is good if you play at 5% depth.
Dragon Age Awakenings is great aside from the odd looking party charater portraits. But they are easy to ignore.
I've tried these in 3D recently, but opted for 2D in the end:
GTA IV episodes (framerate)
Assassin's Creed 2 (glowy halos on bright objects & backgrounds)
Prototype (got dizzy with the jerky camera)
Just Cause 2 (framerate)
Metro 2033 (framerate)
The framerate issue is probably due to my single GTX260 setup!

Burnout Paradise is a favorite of mine, too, but I get too bored playing that even though it's an excellent 3D experience. I also just purchased Trine on Steam and, even though not recommended, I think it's pretty good in 3D and a great game.

Is this game like Oblivion.. I loved Oblivion [although I played it on PS3 as it was a gift]. Sounds interesting though

I'm thinking of getting that JC2, just not sure if it's aimed at a slightly lower age bracket than the 1 I'm in.
Thanks to every1 for the tips, there's some really useful stuff in there :).
