The best way for windows 10 install is to use 2 separate drives.
2 SSDs are required
Old OS on original SSD
Disk Clone the original SSD to New SSD
Update either the new or old SSD to Windows 10 after cloning
On the original OS disable thru group policy disable update OS / Windows update (google this)
I purchased a caddy for my SSDs
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817997014
This method is foolproof and you can enjoy your 3D games with the older OS.
Thanks for suggestions, guys :) Makes sense! Will do it this way ;)
ASUS Prime z370-A, i5 8600K, ASUS GTX 1080 Ti Strix, 16 GB DDR4, Corsair AX860i PSU, ASUS VG278HR, 3D Vision 2, Sound Blaster Z, Astro A50 Headphones, Windows 10 64-bit Home
Still bumping, any hotfix coming to deal with the broken decals of update 1.10? :))))
much appreciated
Honestly it doesn't make sense to HOTFIX anything. The expansion is coming Tuesday and we will see then if Mike or DarkStarSword will even buy the Expansion.
If you want a HOTFIX why not try make one yourself;) Is not that hard;))
Until it gets fixed by any other please be patient. (Patience is a Virtue after all).

So if nobody who has the skills to update it buys the expansion, the game will stay broken? That's sad.
On my end the lights and shadows are all messed up, it's unplayable unfortunately :(

There is nothing wrong with shadows and stuff, except a few decals that will be fixed sooner or later. If you get all that things mixed up you are doing something wrong...
The skills we don't lack, as seen so far, it is just the matter of time. It will get fixed:)

I have a spare Steam key for the Hearts of Stone expansion. PM me if you want it.
I'm happy to give it to anyone, though obviously I'd be extra happy to give it to a modder.
I would probably like to have it but I can't use the code as my game is on GOG and not steam. I appreciate the thought.
Hope you can find someone who will appreciate the code and be able to use it.
Still recovering from my upgrade to windows 10. Is now dual booting windows 7 for all games that won't run on windows 10 due to the massive driver bug. Why don't we start a donation drive to get attention from NVidia on this topic. My current rig is recently bought for 18000 SEK and the game I got from a game code. I believe we have people who would spend 3x game cost just to get this bug fixed. If you put it in perspective NVidia have a very dedicated and motivated group of modders and users both in this forum. It all started with Helix hope he is doing well. His disappearance is kind of a mystery to me. He could have said a more proper goodbye and maybe checkback sometime since.
Anyway I've been away helping my mother move house among other things. I've recently become an apple developer and I'm wondering if there is any demand for a 3DVision forum app for iPhone. Been working on yet another Sudoku app for iPhone but I'm currently stuck. Need to take a step back and learn Swift.

Now that I've finished the first cut of the resource copying support in 3DMigoto I think I'm going to have to devote this weekend to updating some of my existing fixes - a few of them have been broken by updates now. I'm not planning to buy the expansion right away (I haven't even finished the main game - heck, I've barely started), but I should be able to fix anything that the 1.10 broke which will hopefully cover the expansion as well.
If someone else wants to update the fix before I get to it feel free though... this hobby of mine has grown a surprisingly long backlog.
Edit: Yeah, like Flugan I have the game on GOG, so a Steam key won't help me. I might ping the devs though - you never know, maybe they are willing to help the shaderhackers who fixed their game?

I will probably end up buying the Expansion, as I am a sucker for Witcher series:))
So, I will probably end up hunting and trying to fix the broken things in patch 1.10 ;)
I don't have an ETA for this though;)

Ok.
I don't have the expansion yet. And I don't have the time to spend running around that much;))
Can you please send me a savegame for EACH of the broken things you see:
- Decals on roofs
- Snow.
- Blood.
This way I can quickly find the new shader and fix it;)
Thx in advance.
