Hi

Just so we overcommunicate, yes this is fixed, but will not be in the first release of the R270 driver. We will let you know when this is in a driver you can use.

Andrew, he new beta is a step backwards in this regard. My brightness is now locked at 100% from start up. Randomly after 1 hour or so the screen goes black and the brightness goes back to the normal 50%. What's really annoying is before a resolution change would solve reset the brightness, but now its locked at 100% until whenever it feels like changing.

The only way i can stop this is by unplugging the 3d is receiving and restarting. Really burning my eyes! Just a heads up as i really would like this fixed as its a real pain as i use my computer all day pretty much for work.

Cheers.

Guys, I have this monitor Alienware 3D display AW2310. I don't understand what do you mean about 100% brightness locked??? If I disbale dynamic contrast using the touch screen side panel I have brightness unlocked and I can set it to whatever my likings. Right now I have brightness set to 65% and I can change up or down whenever I want. If I enable dynamic contrast then it's locked at 100% or during 3D playback or 3D Games which is expected.
So, please let m know what you guys mean by this issue cause I don't seem to suffer from it???

Andrew Fear, Please tell me checkerboard will be available in the next WHQL drivers for 3DTV Play. Please give us the great news. Also, since Crytek will add DX11 implementation for Crysis 2, do you think they might let you guys use your drivers for real S3D with Crysis 2????

Hi

What they mean is when they quit a 3D app, the brightness is locked at 100% even though they are only running 2D.

Checkerboard support will not be in the next WHQL. This feature is going to take time for us to implement.

Well, that doesn't happen to me. As I've already told you, once I disable dynamic contrast, I don't have this problem anymore. I play games in 3D and brightness is locked to 100%, once I quit a game, the brightness is unlocked at the settings I keep which is 65%. So, I really don't understand why you guys have this problem and I don't, since we have the same Alienware display????

seriously??? Francomg, there's a little more to a computer then just having a alien-ware monitor. Drivers, software, differing hardware configurations. Are you trying to suggest that just because someone owns a dell and it never crashes, that means NO other dell of the same spec should ever ever crash? Glad the drivers work for you, they do not work for me and for an unknown percentage of other people using this monitor with an nvidia graphics card.

Thanks Andrew for communicating this all to dev guys and ensuring its eventually sorted out. Cheers!

Sorry, I didn't express myself correctly. I was just stating that not everyone that has this display suffers from this brightness issue. I am also having a strange issue with PDDVD 10 mark II not displayng bluray3D after updating to newer patches, sucks. Good lucky

My eyes burn considerably less today. Thankyou Andrew and dev guys, problem seems to be fixed (even after playing just cause 2 which had 100% failure rate. Will respond if any issues, otherwise i'll be enjoying my more normal brightness settings for work :-)

I´m using last 275.33 WHQL driver and this problem is still totally present with my Samsung 2233RZ monitor. I suppose this thread is stopped because people is bored waiting years for a fix and now directly do not write about, since the promise of the fix seem to be not done.

I suppose Nividia is /wallbash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wallbash:' /> with the problem but need more intelligent people to solve.

hey andrew, this problem seems to have reared its ugly head again in the new drivers 290.53 (i havnt played 3d game in a while so might not be new)

When playing metro 2033 (which is simply unbelivable in 3d) on exit, the aw2310 screen stays at max brightness. Is it possible for a fix? its really annoying as even when i turn nvidia 3d off it still stays on 100% max brightness and is locked.....

Cheers for your help
