I need some help ASAP... Will my current setup work with a new 3d display...
I have an ASUS G74SX-DH71 and it is listed as 3d ready, however, it is not the model that has the 3d screen, just the 3d card (NVIDIA GTX560M). I want to buy an LCD 3D monitor (any suggestions on a godd monitor are appreciated) but I keep seeing that all the requirements mention that a monitor must be connected via DVI-D and not HDMI. My laptop only has an HDMI output so I need to know if HDMI will work with an LCD monitor or if there's some converter that I can use to do HDMI to DVI-D. I have a 3D TV so I could always get the 3DTV Play but I would prefer to get a monitor if I can. I really need to order it today if I'm going to do this because I leave soon and need it delivered so any help as soon as possible would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

HDMI can do 3D but it doesn't quite have the bandwidth to do it well. You'll either have the have lower resolution than 1920x1080 or you will have to reduce the refresh rate way down.
I think there are 3D monitors which accept HDMI. If I remember right, the latest ASUS with the LightBoost thing has an HDMI input. Whether it accepts 3D from the HDMI, however, I can't say. You'll have to hit Google and do some searching.

I have a problem similar to skidive here. I have a dell notebook (XPS15), with a GeForce 540M. It says it is compatible with 3DTV's. But for my needs, a monitor of 22" would suffice. Or a TV of 22". I don't mind the name. The point is: I'm looking for something to play 3D, but that isn't large as a TV 42" (and consequently, cheaper). So the question is: a monitor 3d ready, with HDMI 1.4 would do the trick? And of course, any suggestions of monitors are welcome.
