You find it more laggy because your old setup was better performance wise. http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=614&Itemid=72&limit=1&limitstart=8

Maybe you can sell 1 of your 460 and use the other one for PhysX or use your GTX 580 for PhysX... :)

Ummm... I dunno what gave the other guy the impression that GTX 460s is an "upgrade" from a GTX 580.

Consider the following:

1. With GTX 460s in SLi that's it. You can't upgrade further without getting a new card. No 3-Way SLi, no nothing. With a GTX 580, you can later go SLi, then even 3- or 4-Way, if you're crazy enough or power-hungry enough (3D or Surround/both) to need it.
2. Power consumption of a GTX 580 is significantly less than GTX 460 setup. Thermals are also lower as well.
3. The GTX 580 WILL outperform 460s at high resolution due to it having 1.5GB of vRAM vs. GTX 460s in SLi only having 1GB of vRAM each, which means they only have 1GB to use. Several games at 1080p, and pretty much every game out there that's modern at 1600p, as well as games in 3D, will go upwards of 1GB in vRAM usage very easily.

So the GTX 580 WAS a wise choice, despite what people my lead you to believe.

What games are you playing that you area experiencing worse performance? I ask because, I know someone that recently upgraded like yourself, from a 460 setup to a 580 setup, and he is very happy with the results. There are some games that have "issues", but the majority will work better on a 580 than 460s in SLi.

As an example of the raw-GPU power of a 580 vs. 460s in SLi, I give you this:

http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=187464&st=0#entry1156814

Look at the DX11 Extreme board specifically... find Raptor's GTX 580 single card score (Number 23) and compare it to Zibri's score with GTX 460s in SLi (Number 16). A 3fps difference on a benchmark THAT GPU intensive speaks volumes I think of just how beefy the GTX 580 is.

Have you updated to the latest drivers? It seems to me there's no reason why you should be experiencing very-laggy performance.

Good Info i knew i made a good choice and the only time i get laggy performance is when i enable the 3D, with out 3D games are amazng no lag at all i can even run crysis on max at 1920x1080 which i use for all games, is just the 3D the issue and yes i updated the lastest driver

Edit # well i guess i was wrong i was only playing dead rising 2 and i guess per forums this game is not very well built, so i played metro 2033,mafia 2, batmam aa etc etc all in 3D and no problems runs very smooth, i wish i could get rid of the ghosting thos is very noticeable and annoying

Yeah Vsync is always on (force on on the nvidia control panel) but still bad ghosting especially in bright white areas

I don't know if you can make it work in your gaming area but have you considered getting a 720p DLP projector to game on? There is absoulutely no ghosting present on these and playing in 3d at 720p looks great. I just got my system set up last week and was astonished to finally be able to play my 3d games with absolutely no ghosting. I have the Optoma HD66.

You can sometimes get rid of ghosting using your TVs setting. On my Samsung it's called "Perspective." It's basically a convergence setting. I use that in combination with depth to get an optimal 3D effect. 3DTV Play also has convergence controls, but you have to enable them in the Nvida control center and they don't always work.

And you shouldn't have any issues with a 580. I'm playing Crysis 2 in 3D on a 560 (set to extreme at 1920x1080) and it's very smooth.
