Are 3D vision Kit 2 monitors compatable with the origianl 3D vision Kit?
I purchased the 'original' 3D vision Kit with Emitter and about 20 sets of glasses. We were using a 3D projector from Viewsonic, but I want to switch to a 3D monitor and I was looking at the model from ASUS VG278HE. Its listed as compatible on the 3D vision support site, but all the monitors listed seems to reference 3D vision kit 2 but don't say if they work with the other version of the kit. I would hate to think I would need to buy an entirely new emitter and sets of glasses. So can anyone confirm if the older 3D vision kits work with the new monitors or even 3D tv's that are listed? I will be working from a Linux PC if that makes any difference as well. Any help is appreciated.

yes they are interchangeable.. I have a pair of NVidia 2 glasses with an old gen 1 emitter.. it does state on their website somewhere perhaps check the knowledgebase

Yes, that should work. Be sure to get the monitor that does not have the built in emitter, because your glasses are all going to be using RF signal instead of IR. The NVidia Pro kit uses RF, but the pyramid looks similar to the consumer version which uses IR.

Yes, I have both versions of the glasses as well as two different 3d monitors. (The old viewsonic 22inch and the new asus vg278he) Also, you only need the glasses, not a new emitter, if you own an old emitter from 3d vision 1.
