Great. Thanks.
How about glasses? Does this work with 3D vision glasses?
No you can NOT use the 3D Vision glasses because the old school method has no support for the USB emitter. But if you have a Mits DLP, or similar, and yours supports DLP-Link then all you need is either these:

http://www.amazon.com/Sharp-X102-Xpand-Shutter-Glasses/dp/B003FBO7JQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1295972837&sr=8-1

or these:

http://www.amazon.com/Optoma-BG-ZD101-Glasses-Interchangeable-Pieces/dp/B003Q96CCC/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I2515DB0ARZJT3&colid=D7E2C82G9WSI

I have the Xpand 102's, and they work good, but I heard the Optoma's are better. Optoma's don't use a propietary battery and they are said not to have as much trouble sync'ing up with distances ~10 ft. Choice is yours....based on reviews I'd opt for Optoma.

Another set of glasses? Damn, this 3D crap is getting really messy for total/backward compatibility. I currently have Eye3D, 3D Vision and Mits 3DC-1000 kit (http://www.amazon.com/Mitsubishi-3DC-1000-HDTV-Starter-Pack/dp/B003KTN0B4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1295975599&sr=8-1) which works for 3D movies using latest Nvidia driver, I wonder whether the Mits glasses would work for D3 in this case?

If you have the Mits glasses already, I bet those will work since you will be going from you PC into the 3DC kit and then into your TV. You just need to be able to sink them up with your TV and the kit give you that ability.

That sounds good. I think I'm going to resurrect the old silicon soon. Descent games are the only one that I really love to play and there has been none that can compare to that feeling of 6 DOF, and gameplay was just phenomenal. Thanks again and hopefully once setup we can play online.

This profile is from the 163.75 Forceware drivers, which will give you a little more compatibility with games newer than 91.47.

Instructions:

Okay when you install the 91.47 Forceware drivers, only extract them first, then cancel, and then go to the location where they were extracted and overwrite the NvApps.xm_ file with this one. Then go to that directory and run the setup.exe MANUALLY, don’t try to run the 91.47 Forceware file again or you will overwrite your .xm_ file the older one. Install and good luck. Let me know if you have any issues

Guys you will also want to install Nhancer 2.4.5., which will give you the ability to run with one cpu core on the fly. There are some games that you must run with only one CPU core or you will BSOD or CTD (more likely the former). It'll also give you the ability to enhance your games. DO NOT install a newer Nhancer version beyond 2.4.5 as they will not work with the 90 series drivers or the Geforce 7 series. I suggest that after you install Nhancer that you disable auto-update check. Also be sure to have .NET up to date to run Nhancer.

Yes and it works with 3D Vision using GLDirect which translates OpenGL to Direct3D.

Just a little update.

I played a little bit of Descent 3 Retribution Single Player last night. I have never really played this game much at all, only some testing, and I am amazed at how good the quality is in S3D using the older driver. I used 100% depth and it really looked nice.

Is the crosshair 2D if so can you turn it off?

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
