I *think* you're seeing the broken glass reflection I posted about earlier - does the artefact move from side to side as you walk forward and back? That's broken on all settings for me, though it looks a little different on medium / high than it does on very high / ultra because medium & high use a 1/4 size depth buffer and the artefacts are in a different position, while very high/ultra use a 1/2 size depth buffer. I might just kill all the shaders responsible for that until Ubisoft fix their bug.

Release v1.4 is up on the blog: http://helixmod.blogspot.com.au/2017/01/watchdogs2.html I've finished the main story line in the game now, so there shouldn't be much left to fix... provided Ubisoft doesn't go and break the reflection fix again @_> - HUD kill switch will now also kill target lines and object highlights - Fixed footprint decal on sand (didn't notice this was broken because it was invisible) - Fixed road line decals hovering a few millimetres above surface - Returned security lasers to correct depth (was caught by the heat distortion fix) - Added spider crosshair and weapon heat guage to auto adjust list (this also moves the Jumper / Quad Copter turbo gauge to crosshair depth - seems ok to me) - Disabled white light glitch fix that caused problems in at least one air vent in the final mission - Removed artefacts in screen space reflections caused by a game bug in 1.09

THanks DarkstarSword! How is the game overall? Worth playing through the main story?

Thanks for the updates, DSS ! Hey guys, I have a general question on 3D Vision performance. At first it seemed good, on my old Win7 PC, with settings mostly on medium. I was seeing some stuttering/fps dips mostly when driving in the big city. Now I have a new Alienware Aurora R5 (i7-6700 4Gz, SLI GTX1080, 32Gb RAM, Win10 Pro) and I have the impression that the game is more sluggish, definitely driving around is more stuttery as before. I also can hear a strange high pitch noise in this game, I thought coil whine but could be the fans or liquid cooling. It stops if I enter the options menu with Escape, it even changes pitch depending where I look with the mouse in game, as if the number of polygons in the line of view would impact it. Are there any of you who have similar systems or who experience similar things? Would my hardware still not be enough for 3D Gaming at this moment? Thank you in advance

The GPU worked perfectly fine and is not a danger to the card or any electronics inside your PC. It can just be a bit annoying;)

Thanks Helifax I've never heard this before, I will make more inquiries to try to confirm it's coil whine, there are some people on the Dell forums complaining about horrible fan noise, but I first thought about coil whine because the sound pitch/intensity seems to be directly affected by camera movement in this game and I don't think a fan would adjust RPMs down and up real-time, in a split second. If there's nothing I can do, I'll have to return the PC :-( It's simply too noisy, it cost 3800 eur and it's advertised as super-silent, but everytime I play Watch Dogs 2 my wife wants to leave the room. I was very torn between buying this system and building one myself. I guess Dell must cut some corners somehow, so probably they got cheaper components , don't know. But I don't think I can be sure not to have coil whine if I build the PC myself either, right? I only have like 10 days left to return it, I think. Don't know what else to test, I'll look it up on the net. Strange that it only seems to happen mostly in this game.
Thanks Helifax

What sort of performance are people getting with this game btw? I love the 3d patch - thanks so much - but am finding I can't get close to a locked 60fps at 1080p with 3D on, even with my single GTX1080 and 4790K. Is anyone managing that with SLI, or should I just accept the 30fps lock and stop worrying? Even on the Lowest preset I still get a variable 30-55. BTW the patch plus the recent Steam sale tipped me into buying this. It's a really fun game I think.

Not really better for me with Titan X (9xx) SLI :/ Sometimes I get around 45 50 fps, sometime around 25 35 SLI doesnt seem very well managed for this game but still it adds (but could be way better)

It needs another update. It has no more CTDs but it has slow downs now - no matter what settings I use.

Strange that it only seems to happen mostly in this game.
That system is awesome;) And Alienware doesn't really cut corners (except for the thermal paste which IS CRAP and would replace that ASAP) Have 2 Alienware systems currently and had 3 more before and for laptops the thermal paste was always bad - average at best ;) Coil wine is not something they can "control". Is in the hands of the GPU manufacturer and even then, IS NOT A MFG defect. All components require a frequency to work. That frequency can easily be translated in vibration. Sometimes the vibration they make is within our hearing spectrum;) but most of the times is not (and we don't hear them). Try other games, apps where it stresses the GPUs/CPU and see if you get it;) Try it in WD2 without 3D Vision. You can always ask Alienware to swap your card and tell them the reason (Coil Wine - to levels you can't tolerate). I wouldn't return the system if you like it;) The same can happen even if you build your own one;) Is like the CPU chip lottery - some chips work better then others;) On my 780Ti there was only one game (can't remember which) that made the GPU "wine" all other 99% 3D Vision Apps were perfect;)) What was special there... I don't know;)
