Helix might have a working wrapper.
The problem is the difference between how dx9 treats shaders and dx10.
The recommended way to distribute shaders with dx10+ is precompiled objectcode.
Developers can still compile on-the-fly but I don't know how commonplace it is.
As the shader is compiled it will be nearly impossible to understand and thus impossible to fix.
Correct me if I'm wrong but that is pretty much my understanding of the situation.

Right now that's the holy grail of 3d gaming, we all pray Helix can do his magic once again.

@Asta Storm, i suppose you refer to "3D ripper DX":
3D Ripper DX supports only DirectX 6.x, 8.x and 9.x applications. OpenGL, older versions of DirectX and software renderers are not supported.
There are 2 different software. Helix wrapper is more complex, because act between input and output shaders ON THE FLY. With 3D ripper DX you can save shaders (that's 20% of Helix wrapper), not manipulate on the fly (or before output) like Helix wrapper.

From what point of view is Direct ripper DX and helixmod at all similar when it comes to functionality.
Wrapping DX11 is clearly possible and was for instance done by https://twitter.com/rajkosto

The main topic is if dx10 and dx11 shaders can be fixed at all due to the big Changes to shader
handling starting with dx10. From a post Helix wrote in the BIG thread I'm assuming the answer is no.
If anything is possible it would be very limited or beyond impossible.
I'll stop here Before I extend too far beyond my knowledge.

The reason being was that I wanted to play Dead Space 3 in 3D properly. I figured that by switching off everything in the settings it still looks good in general and has hardly any artefacts anymore. So this time I can bear them.
But still what could be a different approach to accomplishing this? Maybe real-time manipulation of a game in memory the way trainers are working?

As it turns out, DS3 does work with DX9 even though I did not see the debug text on top of the screen. So this game is not affected here. Find the patch at this link.

"Nope, I already said that for now fixing DX10/DX11 games is impossible.
I still don't have time to finish DX10/DX11 wrapper and I doubt that it can be done till summer."

Maybe Helix should consider starting. Kickstarter for writing dx10/11 wrapper. I was under the impression it wasn't possible, but your post suggests it is, but there are time limitations. Well, time is money so maybe kickstarter can help :)

I would gladly pay 100.00 or more if thats what it took. I was even hoping Helix would have a paypal donation link on his site so I could donate money. Helix (and crew) is responsible for HUNDREDS of hours of entertainment for myself and my friends and we would like to show our appreciation. Even if he can't get dx 10/11 working I would still donate money for his hard work. If a kick starter is started, I would be one of the first to put money in. Without Helix mod, 3D and gaming would be dead to me.
Thanks again.
