Getting Stellaris from Bad to Good using convergence
Hi all, Fooled around a bit with 3d in Stellaris, and found that one can make it somewhere between Good and Excellent (depending on how much toyification one wants, and which view in the game is used more) by following these simple steps. 1. Put Depth to its lowest setting. 2. Use the convergence short-cuts to press the background image from the foreground into the background (pressing them down for like 10 seconds or more). In stellaris, the convergence keys will act like a Depth slider. 3. Once the background image is in the background, try and find a compromise between different screens and zoom-settings. Looking at the screen with the glasses off can be useful sometimes. I spend most of my time in the Galaxy map, so I find that it is useful to have that be the most important screen. It's also useful if the images in the Ship creator are viewable. Maybe there are compromises between depth and convergence that will make things even better, but I've yet to find that. As far as I can tell, it's not possible to save these settings, but you have to re-do it for each session. Also, it can be worth it to shrink the UI with the "experimental" UI scaling slider to something like 0,9 (I play in 1440p), as they're a bit in the way otherwise.

Put up some stereo screenshots on 3d vision live: http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/Lammasu/image/58f5f110e7e564a44c000282/ Having problems viewing them myself however. Seem like 3d vision in Firefox is broken, at least for me. Anyone else having this problem? Am on Win 7.

You could use a recent HelixMod Release dll and something like the following in a DX9Settings.ini
[General] PresetsKeysList = 1; ; Tab [KEY1] Key = 9 Presets = 1; Type = 1 [PRES1] UseSepSettings = true SaveSepSettings = true Convergence = 0x3f800000 Separation = 0x3f800000 UseByDef = true
...more on keys here another more in-depth post about it here, once in-game use the key to select the Preset, adjust Convergence and Separation and then Save it by pressing F7, just F7... not Ctrl+F7 edit:I recently played through Blades of Time this way... it's basically 'inside out' 3D :)

[General]
PresetsKeysList = 1;

; Tab
[KEY1]
Key = 9
Presets = 1;
Type = 1

[PRES1]
UseSepSettings = true
SaveSepSettings = true
Convergence = 0x3f800000
Separation = 0x3f800000
UseByDef = true

...more on keys here another more in-depth post about it here, once in-game use the key to select the Preset, adjust Convergence and Separation and then Save it by pressing F7, just F7... not Ctrl+F7
