3D Vision Setup Wizard problem
I'm trying to get 3D Vision to work - using a GeForce GTX 280, with a Samsung Syncmaster monitor, on Windows 7.
I've followed the instructions in the 'quickstart guide' that came with the 3D vision package (essentially uninstalled my current graphics drivers, installed the ones from the cd, then installed the 3D vision driver) - now after the 3D vision driver has installed it says that the '3D Vision Setup Wizard' will automatically run and continue the installation.

However, the monitor simply goes black and i get a 'no signal input' error flashing on the screen. To get out of this i hit Alt F4 and my desktop reappears. This suggests to me that the setup wizard is running, i just can't see it because the screen gets disabled, or something.

Using the Nvidia control panel I've gone to the 3D Vision Setup Wizard in there and tried to run it but i get the same problem with the monitor apparantly turning itself off...

Has anyone else had such a problem on Windows 7? I understand this is all beta software so might not work properly anyway, but I've heard of people who've successfully gotten 3D vision to work on Windows 7...

Any help is appreciated, thanks

edit:

I have also tried it with the v185.85 drivers for Windows 7, but I'm still getting the same issue. I'm on Windows 7 64 bit.

I found somebody on here who apparantly had the exact same problem. Just in case anyone stumbles accross this thread, this might be the solution:

I have been using my old monitor cable to connect it to my pc, however the guy I messaged has said if you use the cable that comes with the monitor it solved it. (my problem is I've only got this thing as a test from a client and they didn't give us the cable :() oh well...

I agree its most likely the cable.

For 3D you MUST use a DVI-DL compatible cable. This is not your normal DVI cable as the pins for the dual channel part are typically missing in your average cable.

Hi All,

I 100% guarantee most black screen experiences during the setup wizard are as a result of not using the Dual-Link DVI cable.

Everyone needs to make sure they use that cable in the box.

Hello.

I have the same problem and this is my cable set-up:

Dual-Link DVI Adapter --> HDMI --> Dual link DVI plugged into the monitor.

I am getting the "no signal" message and I guess it's because the HDMI?

Thanks,
Seb

You can step DVI-D down to HDMI but not back up, HDMI doesn't use as many pins as DVI-D.
