I'm thinking of pre ordering a 22" iz3d stereoscopic monitor and have some questions about it, and about stereoscopic viewing in general.
A few years back I tried a pair of shutter glasses that a friend of mine got with his graphics card. The effect was really neat but it gave me a headache after only 30 minutes of playing.
While reading about new cool stuff from CES I became very interested in iz3d's coming monitor. I haven't found much info about other stereoscopic monitors and no others claim to be designed for gaming specifically (which is what I will be using it for) like the iz3d. Does any of you guys have any experience with the iz3d and other stereoscopic monitors? I've seen that a poster named chopper has iz3d's 17" model and I read his review about it.
I have also read that stereoscopic doesn't work with SLI, which I found strange since I imagine 2 graphic cards creating 1 frame each would give great performance gains using stereoscopic viewing compared to using only 1 card.
How big are the performance decreases using stereoscopic? How long will one 8800gtx card be enough to play the latest games at highest settings in stereoscopic modes? And yes I also read that nvidia are kinda slow with stereoscopic drivers and that the 8800 series aren't supported yet. The 22" iz3d monitor doesn't ship until may though so I should be fine right?

mjukis, unfortunately I don't have any info for you. If I could get stereo working for my shutterglasses, I would be really tempted to buy one of these, I would love to have brighter image with no ghosting, sounds like this would be great!

Ordered the 22" iz3D today, been looking all over for similar products but this seems to be the only option to get good quality stereoscopic if you don't feel like spending thousands of dollars. And quite possibly this is the best product out there for my gaming needs since none of the alternatives I've found are designed for high speed gaming.
Let's just hope it looks as good in real life as it does on paper (=
I'll be looking about this forum for a reasonably cheap pair of shutter glasses to use now and then in the 4 month wait until the iz3Ds ship.

You can get these from newegg... $40.00. I have these glasses and they are pretty good.
I prefer the wired version because it's cheaper and I don't have to be worried about the batteries and I'm sitting in my chair always when using them so mobility isn't an issue.
I am very interested to hear a review of it once you get it. Too bad you're not in Texas, I wish there were somewhere I could see a demo of this monitor!
That's awesome you're getting it, I hope it lives up to your expectations.
