After looking through this forum and many others for a solution to my GF8xxx non stereo woes I've come to the conclusion that it's hopeless. I don't think NVidia intend to release a driver that supports any other headset than their own but I've been using NVidia cards for almost 10 years now and they've never let me down yet. So, in the spirit of technical endeavour, if you answered yes to the poll (both questions) can you please describe what hardware / software combo you're using and how you managed it so we can all get our stereo fix again /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
here's how far I've got:
Hardware -
ELSA 3D Stereo Shutter glasses (S3D)
GeForce 8600GT (M)
So far I've tried:

the nVidia 181.2x stereo drivers + 179.xx card drivers (there are no 181.2x drivers available for my card)

eDimentional Drivers - no luck

TriDef - No luck

iZ3D - Got all my games rendering in stereo for the shutter glasses but the shutter glasses themselves don't get activated
Some Interesting links I've found -

Sorry if this post comes across a bit short and sharp but I've been on this for ages now and can't believe there's no solution.

I went away from shutters quite a while ago. I got myself a passive rig which is supported by either older nvidiastereodrivers (7900GT +169.21 forceware +162.50stereo) or iz3d (8800GTX + iz3d-stereo), both running with winxp. How are the new nvidiastereo regarding compability? Are you also able to run older games in stereo?

It's unclear to me if you know about E-D Activator.
Get it from www.edimensional.com/support_updates.php
Use it with the iZ3D driver but you will have a 50/50 chance of a wrong eye-sync.
You might have to restart the game till it's good. Also w/o the glasses, the games might look like they
will be good, but then once you turn on the glasses, it might turn out that the game loses sync alot.
Better yet, use a hardware switch built-in on some $10 cheap glasses from www.xforce3d.com.
They have a hardware switch to turn on the glasses and a button to swap eye-sync. It's nice
not depending on software for those functions. You have to use a display with an old-style
15-pin connector though. They also have hardware line-blanking mode and sync-doubling mode
as well as page-flipping.
