Projector arrived today. I had no issues setting up (took me about 5 mins to get it working 3d on a white wall). Although I havn't set up my optoma screen yet, I found that projecting about 100" onto my matt white wall was bright enough in 3d. It was a bit brighter than the Samsung monitor which I also have. I did however have curtains closed but there was still plenty of ambient lighting. Only slight problem is that I found that the 84" screen is quite small for 3d and I can't really return the optoma screen since I got it at less than half price.
IDK what games this guy s playing with, I had problems with 90% of games with matte white.
Hell I have problems with ghosting as well.
Oh , hopefully the second acer arrives intact.
I have no problems either I find everything I throw at it is great, gaming movies and recently rugby league broadcast in Australia all looked plenty bright.
Also now have zero ghosting no matter what I'm doing, I'm very content from here on in with my setup.

... then make your own " WHITTE MATE SCREEN for 3D anticipation thread" , cause we ain't talkin about matte white screen here. Thank blacksharkfr for the insight he provides:
A traditional screen (white matte material, or other cheap solutions like using the wall) reflects light in all directions, towards you wherever you stand in the room and also the walls, thje floor and the ceiling.
If you want to focus the light differently (more towards you and less towards the sides) you have to use a screen with different light reflection properties so that the screen acts in a way that looks more like a mirror than a diffusing surface.
The way Tritosine recommends you is the DIY approach, use a cheap screen material and add a coating of silvery-like paint on top of it. It's the cheapest way of doing it but requires you to apply the paint coating yourself.
If you want to buy a finished product directly, there are many projection screen manufacturers that sell just what you are looking for but it's more expensive (prices vary greatly, some are cheap others are very expensive).
The characteristic of the screen you are looking for is called the screen gain. The higher the gain, the more the screen behaves like a mirror and the less light is bouncing to the sides. Most screen manufacturers provide charts that show how much light is reflected according to the angle of reflection.
There are advantages and drawbacks to using high gain screens, make sure you understand them before you decide to buy such a screen, you'll find plenty of litterature on the web and people arguing for and against it.
Oh, and now that I want to buy the second H5360, before I send this one back to RMA ( LOL ) , I found some rather good prices , and look , new spec, says:
brighntess: 2100-2500 lumens ( we measured 2100 exactly)
contrast : 2100 - 5000 (we measured 2600 in user mode because of brilliantcolor and high brightness)
wonder how they measure 5000 contrast with this pj, since in 120hz its 1050 contrast to start with ( im goin to repair that).

Can't do what exactly I don't see anything special to be honest, you seem like your out to prove we shouldn't be happy with our Acer or Optoma projectors and current projector screens.
My optoma is plenty bright enough in 3D, even daytime use with no curtains here but the only thing stopping it is the IR communication with the glasses due to the sunlight and yes I'm happy with Blacks/Whites and colour.
If you are not happy then ok but alot of us a fine I'm sure, sure it's not just your setup that is letting you down.
What I'm meant to look at a screenshot without shutterglasses and go yeh that DepthQ is well worth the it being 10x the price.
Pfff please stop with the whinge man seriously getting old quick!

Again I'm happy and that is all that counts to me, it's all in eye of the beholder.

We are talking about a projector for 2D and 3D here vs price, I think that is what you need to consider more.
Yes we will probably all upgrade in future to something with inky blacks and better brightness but c'mon this can be had for less then 700 bucks in the US.
The beloved DepthQ how much you willing to spend on it, it said 5000 last I looked for the 720P model and that is the point it's only 720P still for that much money, no thanks and no matter how much people want to spin it's better brightness in a 3D context.

???
And what you are trying to prove? Your bat cave setup is up to depth Q level ? What if we dont want a batcave setup like urs?
You get that matte white is destroyed by ambient lightning, and 3d mode on-off contrast is pretty bad to start with do you ?
Yeah its bad!
