Viewsonic VX2256WM and 3dvision problems
Im having lots of problems with my VX2256WM and 3dvision setup. Since recieving it 4 days ago I have had no luck getting it working. I have managed to get one game working briefly with 3d (just cause 2)but that messed up after switching a few graphics settings and then did not work after that. When trying to run other games (batman arkum asylum)the monitor would not switch to 3d120hz mode and the stereo effect would flicker badly, othertimes it would start in anaglyph mode. Turning the monitor off then on would sometimes fool monitor into switching back into sterescopic 3d mode but not always. Now! and this is the best part.. my monitor is perminantly set to 1024x768 and my nvidia drivers think this is the VX2256WM native res, I cannot run 3d at all anymore becuase of the res. I cannot see the bios screen anymore or post information, the monitor litterally switches on when the windows logon screen loads up. I have tried installing the nvidia drivers and monitor drivers so many times now its starting to drive me a little crazy. I have read that this can be caused by a faulty EDID module on the monitor, is there anyway to fix this?
Im using the dual link DVI, I have tried setting up custom res (1680x1050:60hz)but drivers say monitor cannot function at this res. Im running Vistax64. 4 opteron 280s, BFG Geforce 8000GTX+ OC2, 8 gigs of ram.....Is this monitor faulty?
