3DTV Play Support Dropped in 313.96?
I bought 3DTV Play a couple of days ago and I've been using 3DTV Play with the 310.90 drivers, but after having some crashes with Just Cause 2, I updated to the 313.96 Beta drivers. I was able to play Just Cause 2 for a couple of hours in 3D without any trouble under the 313 Beta drivers, but when I tried to configure 3DTV Play, the options were gone and now it's showing 3D Vision Discover as the display type with no way to change it. I can't enable Stereoscopic because it doesn't detect any 3D Vision hardware on my system. I read the release notes for 313.96 and found this: 3D Vision Legacy Support Notification for Windows Vista Support for 3D Vision under Windows Vista is discontinued beginning with the Release 313 Drivers. 3D Vision and 3DTV Play functionality will not be available with these drivers. So I guess I have to fall back to the latest drivers that don't cause Just Cause 2 to crash, which would be something earlier than the 310 release. I'm running Windows 7, but that doesn't appear to matter. I'm not real thrilled that they took my $40 for a product which has already lost support. Am I reading this wrong, I hope?

I hope it's not the case, probably just an issue on the beta drivers. Hvae you tried a full reinstall?

@clam_Up, im using 313.95 Beta drivers (same driver than .96...only fix the international install problem) and running 3DTV Play without issues. In fact the 313 drivers improve performance for me. Im running windows 7 - 64. Try doing a clean install of the driver, like birthright said.

Weak Sauce....what gives? How long before W7 is phased out? next driver release? It also says "NVIDIA will continue to support basic 3D Vision and 3DTV Play functionality for Windows Vista with Release 310 or earlier drivers. Basic functionality includes full-screen viewing of 3D games, pictures, and movies on 3D Vision monitors, notebooks, and 3D TVs (with 3DTV Play software installed)." What da dell is "basic" 3D Vision? Perhaps they are kicking the consumer side to the curb and plan to support only their professional side? The way I'm reading it is that they're dropping legacy support for 3D Vision all together with the 313 driver release onward, not just 3DTV Play, but "normal" 3D Vision as well. If this is the case, no more nVidia hardware for me again, ever.

Easy guys, it just says they won't continue updating Vista support, which is now pretty old anyway. If all you've got is Vista, you can continue to use older drivers for 3D. If you want to update to the latest drivers, you have to update to at least the 2nd newest version of Windows first. That seems pretty reasonable in 2013. Keep calm and carry on folks.

Have you tried restarting Windows? I'd try that first, the driver could just be stuck in Discover mode like happened to me.

Well, I've finished completely uninstalling all nVidia drivers and performed a clean install of the 313.96 drivers (with several restarts during the process as required), and again I have no options for enabling 3DTV Play. For now I'm going to fall back to the 306 release and hope that Just Cause 2 is stable and that the 3DTV Play problem is due to the Beta state of the 313 release.

This is extremely aggravating. The only reason I upgraded to Vista was the arbitrary decision not to support XP. Now, in spite of the fact that the current drivers install the 3D Vision package, they have put something in to recognize Vista and disable the 3D functions. It worked fine before; why disable it? Incidentally, I tried to perform a fresh/clean install of an older set of drivers and still the 3D Vision functions are disabled.

Do you have more than one display hooked up to the pc? I personally have 3, and one of them is 3D Vision compatible, while the another must use 3D TV Play. The 3D TV Play option AUTOMATICALLY appears when that particular display is identified as the MAIN display. When it is NOT the main display, an option for 3D TV Play isn't even visible. So if this possibility even remotely applies to you, try changing your display priority settings in the NV control panel and see what happens..
