Should I buy Metro LL Redux? I have the LL original and both 2013 original and redux but haven't played them yet.
When I tried the Metro games I had a Sony active 3DTV and there was a lot of crosstalk, i wanna try them now again in my passive LG as soon as I get my new card GTX1070.
I don't see a fix for Last Light in the Helix Mod website, is it good? Is there any configuration that is recommended? Which versions would you recommend original or redux for both games?

Wow, weird, I just posted this in another thread, and here's another person asking.
"I actually have a minor fix that I made for that game which I've never posted before, so I figured I'd share it.
Fix http://helixmod.blogspot.ca/2016/09/metro-last-light-vanilla-version-not.html
Basically, it fixes some minor broken lighting (when you shine the flashlight onto spiderwebs), fixes the position of bloom effects, provides a low convergence toggle on RMB for easier aiming, and maybe a couple other small things that I can't remember."
Guess I probably should put it up on the blog, no matter how minor it may be.
But to answer your question, most people agree that LL Redux is basically pointless. Hardly any difference at all, so save your money.
Edit: Created post on the blog page for the fix. Updated link to the blog page.

Great, thanks for the reply I didn't see the other thread! I will determinately save my money then :)
I think you should put in the blog, yes.
I think actually we should have even games that do not have a fix because are almost perfect, but sometimes do need some specific configuration, like disable some effects should all be in the blog. It is hard to go through threads and lots of posts to find this information.

Both reduxes are kind of pointless. Well not if you are on low hardware. I think both originals have better lightning and atmosphere more grittier. And physics are Also downgraded atleast to me it seems like it. Still i won't say i regret bying the reduxes. Its a different look and metro is one of the few games i played like 4-5 times through already and just started last light original again. Its just awsome series.

Just my .02, but from what I've seen of the Redux, it doesn't look quite as good to me as the original 2033. Not sure about LL. That's just the visuals though, I hear they changed the gameplay and more too. I will play it eventually though.
Like the area in this video, located where the lady in sweeping in the beginning of the game, is now dark. I had never seen such amazingly atmospheric lighting in a video game before that I don't think. Boggles my mind that they messed with this scene.

Both 2033 and LL are console fucked. LL has less differences but the original is still better.
On 2033 the huge difference in lightning can be seen best in the metro scene where you on the resins and the anomaly comes
And blacks out all onboard.

The biggest problem of the Redux versions is the geometry culling in 3D. Some areas are almost unplayable, because sometimes you can't see enemies that are in front of you.
I only have the redux version of Last Light, so I wanted to make it more decent with a fix, for me and for people who also only have the redux version.

Masterotaku you are on a situation i was couple of years ago. You propably Also love metro series, i would recommend to get the original LL as its propably only few bucks, its so worth it for another playtrough. There is some scenes you still drop your eyes.

Hello, the original LL is very hard to find and cost 20$.
I'm still searching for a good price if someone know where to find the original.
Thank you masterotaku for people like me who only have the redux.
(When i saw they were both Redux i bought again the original 2033)
Have you checked g2play and cdkeys.
There has been disqussions about intergrity of These services, g2play Atleast or kinguin
But when there is need you get what you want where you get it.
Or try local stores
