Fallout 3 white sync flickering in 3d shutters vista 3d vision nvidia sync flashing in vista
While other games like Res.Ev.5 and COD4 feature more some than less ghosting, Fallout 3 "rated as excellent" provokes my shutters to flicker excessively (white flashes on both eyes) everytime one looks at the sky or focuses on enemys or beholds high dynamic light effects. This is escpecially the case on vista.

Even game patches and 3d vision drivers/ graphic card driver updates couldn't solve the issue on this game. Whereas on win7 there're less of these flashes (I bought two extra hdds to install a partition of win7 on them to run along my vista partition (both raid) ). Now where it seemed playable some inexplicable freezes or game halts come now and again to haunt my 3d periphery.

While still being annoyed enough with 3d vision constraining my 3-way sli (gtx 280) to 2-way sli, it bother's me all the more to experience these sync flashes. Other games seem to work fine. EVGA Precision is known to cause these flashes as well when on. Switching off and on the sli configuration wasn't succeding.

I run a XFX 790i ultra motherboard (pain in the a..) with 4 gig OCZ Nvidia sli DDR3 ram (can'T oc it, running at 1200 mhz) and oc'ed quad core q6700, 3.25 Ghz (passively watercooled, mid temps).
Thanks in advance for your help!!

Hey Chris,

I dunno if I can be of much help, since your hardware is quite a bit different than mine so bear with me. My friend had to switch from a 3-way SLI 3x 285 gtx to 2x 285, and he had a similar problem, bright white flashes randomly occuring.

He solved this issue by going into the stereoscopic 3d tab found in the Nvidia drivers, clicking on "run setup wizard" and changing his profile setup from "single computer (far left) to multiple computers (middle option).

Your problem could be a game specific bug, but it is definitely worth a shot. You may also wanna check out a thread I made about common 3dvision problems here.

Another option you could try is either renaming or copying Fallout3.exe to somethingelse.exe

Doing this tricks the Nvidia drivers so it will not recognize the game profile, which has improved FPS and many artifacts people have been having.

Good luck
