3D Glasses not working - won't stay turned on?
Hey all, I've done a quick search through the archives and haven't come up with anything, so apologies if this has already been addressed.

I am attempting to set up 3D vision on my toshiba laptop. It comes with everything necessary installed, and the IR emitter is built in. But for some reason, the glasses themselves seem to not be working. Whenever I try to turn them on, the green light comes on for about 20 seconds and then disappears. Even while the light is on, the glasses do not seem to do anything. I have tried this both plugged in (charging) and unplugged, neither works. I have also tried pressing the button quickly versus holding it down for a longer period of time. Again, neither works.

Do I just have defective glasses here, or is there another issue? Thanks in advance for any advice you might have!

What you are seeing with the green light is normal. Has 3D Vision ever been on? Have you gone into the Nvidia Control Panel and run the set up wizard?

First, please note that when you power on the glasses the green light stays on for 20 seconds and disappears. That is the correct behavior.

Thanks for clarifying the glasses behavior, I'm glad that's normal.

I have run the setup wizard, however when it reaches the screen where I am supposed to discern circles and triangles, there is no difference in what I see with the right eye or the left eye.

Edit: Having set the glasses down on the table for a while, I have just noticed the left eye flashing slowly from black to clear, so I guess this also indicates that the glasses are not defective.

Does the green light on the emitter turn bright?

No it does not. I'm actually not sure where the emitter is my laptop (a TOSHIBA Satellite A660-0T4) but I believe it's a small square thing above the screen, on the right hand side. No light comes on there when I start the test. Do all laptops have lights though, or is that just the separate box emitter?

A slow left blink is the indicator that it needs to be recharged. Which is strange if your on button is glowing green as if it has a charge. /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Huh. Well I'll go charge them again for a loooong time and report back if anything has changed.

Well, still no luck. I haven't seen the flashing thing again though.

Anyone have any idea what part of my system is wonky? Is it more likely to be the glasses, or the graphics card?
