Preventing 3D mode from auto-starting World of Warcraft, etc.
I sometimes play in 2D mode still, which requires that I open the nVidia control panel and uncheck the "Enable stereoscopic 3D" checkbox AFTER I start a game. This is because starting a game automatically engages the 3D mode.
Is there a way to prevent this from re-enabling itself when a game loads?
(By the way: I expect at least one reply telling me to uncheck the box that says "Hide stereoscopic 3D effects when game starts". This isn't what I'm asking for. I want the top check box "Enable stereoscopic 3D" to remain unchecked. Yes it does matter. Yes they are different. Despite this paragraph, I still expect at least one reply telling me this.)
Anyone know how to prevent the 3D driver from enabling itself when a game starts -- aside from uninstalling the 3D driver?
It isn't a big deal, I'm now in the habit of loading WoW, Alt-Tab, loading nVidia control panel, unchecking the box, hitting Apply, Alt-Tabbing back to WoW, and neat: I can play in 2D mode with full frames and the screen looks beautiful again. No crappy horizontal lines. *sigh* It sucks that we have to choose between a mediocre picture quality and 3D, and an awesome picture quality and 2D (yes, those of you who bought the Samsung bundle know what I'm talking about.)

You're going to feel dumb when you see this. First of all you can turn 3D effects on and off by hitting the green eye on the transmitter. But the option you're looking for is on the same screen as "Enable stereo effects". There's a checkbox towards the bottom that says "Hide stereoscopic 3D effects when game starts". At that point you just hit the green eye button on the transmitter to turn 3D on.

Wow. As I expected. Thanks for the reply.
And no, I don't feel dumb.
