Problems using 3DVision with external monitor with MacBook Pro
I am having trouble getting OpenGL quad buffered stereo games and applications (e.g. Doom 3) to run in stereo. I am using a MacBook Pro laptop with a GT 650M card (332.21 driver) and have connected it to a BenQ XL2420TX 24" monitor via a display port cable (mini DP to normal DP) and I am disabling the monitor on the laptop. Stereo is working fine in the 3D vision tests and DirectX games. However when loading an OpenGL quad buffered stereo application it does not render in stereo. The glasses activate as the application starts, but the game is not in stereo. I can get it to get to render in stereo if I after starting the game also start the 3DVision stereo test application and then Alt-Tab back to the game, but as soon as I close the test application the game goes back to mono. It is also random every time I Alt-Tab between these two programs if the eye swaps or not. Seems to me that there is some kind of driver bug here that prevents the game from rendering in stereo. Is there anyone else who have had something similar happen? Btw, I have tested doing the exact same thing with my desktop computer (GTX 780) using display port connection and there it works just fine.

3D Vision and G-SYNC are not supported on nVidia Optimus (hybrid Intel / nVidia GPUs) since the data lines go through the Intel hardware. Only the older Macs with just an nVidia GPU are supported. Some non-Apple Optimus laptops have certain ports connected directly to the nVidia GPU which is supported.

Greetings from the future, devestedt. I'm sad to report that we still don't have hovercars :-(
