I am currently replaying Half-life 2 (Orange box). I installed the cinematic mod and my goodness it looks good.

And what a game! I forgot how good and BIG it is. So well realised and spot on gameplay. I replayed it about 1.5 years ago and I remember thinking then how much I enjoyed it and the reviewers had actually got it right. It is so much better in S3D!

You need to download a file to replace the crosshair in E0 (the first big one) with a fully transparent one. Playing without a crosshair is more challenging but you soon get used to it!

This is defo my favourite FPS of all time!

I agree this game was awesome and now even better in 3D. I recently, over X-Mas, played it for my second time cooperatively over lan with my brother through Synergy. Very fun. Only one of us was using the 3DVison so we traded every once in awhile.

BTW What does the Cinematic mod do?

It enhances the gfx by encorporating the tech advances employed in EP2 throughout the rest of the games though it allegedly improved EP2 gfx with improved textures and models (havent checked it out as I am still in the first game). Its a big download - 10GB! But if you have the space its well worth it.

Best games i found work great on 3D Vision , apart from 3Dready games :

FLATOUT 2 - No problems or glitches, the effect is incredible at high speed with all the objects you hit !
HALF LIFE 2 - A little ghosting, but the overall athmosphere is very nice, the gravgun almost pulls the barrels in your face
STALKER - Using the nvidia settings ruuns great, athmosphere and 3D effect are almost the best in any game
PAINKILLER - Just a little ghosting, kinda creepy...

I also reccomend oldies like Mafia, Serious sam in Direct3D mode, Nfs Most Wanted, Farcry...

Since this is my first post i would also like to add that nvidia is the devil, they screwed the 400 series wich now they will force upon us at high prices. I hate them because they will get away with it because of ignorant fanboys and 3Dvision.

Happy gaming !
i feel the exact same way with call of duty mw 2. i can bare it in single player but in multiplayer but the aiming the way it is i get owned. it's more enjoyable in 2d. With that said i really hope Nvidia works with Infinity Ward for future COD's to be better 3D implemented.

I'm having a blast playing Left 4 Dead 2 in 3D though. Apart from the water section's the game is great fun. Once you've got the convergence right the aiming isn't so bad. Not as accurate as 2d but close enough. :D

3D rocks and hope it gets better and better
problem? this isn't a problem this is realism dude. if you were to aim a gun at something would you do it with both eyes open? or would you close an eye to get a 2d perspective on the target?

its proper awesome, play cod 4 and the sniper mission near the beginning but this time close one eye when aiming

I just bought Metro 2033 and it looks amazing, first game that is excellent at 100% depth. No artifacts of any kind. It even runs okay on my GT 240 @ 720p with High settings. This is my showcase game for the moment :)

Another game I like with 3D Vision is Fallout 3. Too bad there are minor artifacts like glow at screen depth and such. We should start a petition for Fallout New Vegas :D

Allright, I have been playing in 3D now for about 3 Weeks and I've been playing the following games on my acer H5360, which all look marvellous at least!

- Just Cause 2: After Assassins Creed 1, it is THE game to show off the powers of 3D-Gaming at the moment.
- Assassins Creed 1: apart from the missing ground-textures in the kingdom in direct x 10, it is just mind-blowing. Vertigo for the win, if you climb the tower of the cathedral in Acre.
- Need for speed shift: The c*ck-pit perspective is just mind-blowing (no pun intended). You can almost touch and grab the steering-wheel, with the right convergence-settings
- Prince of Persia 2008: Wow, Cell-shading in stereoscopic 3D: It's like a cartoon coming to life, excellent graphics and works perfectly in s3d
- Fallout 3: Looks great, but the game crashes quite often, so can't say much about it right now
- GTA IV: Bought this on steam for 10 $, looks good, unfortunately I had to turn shadows off, which kills a little bit of the atmosphere. But the convergence, especially in the cutscenes... It's like Niko and co. are standing in my room, I just love it.

Yeah, all in all, I am more than content with Nvidias 3D-vision. Actually, the effect is even better than I had imagined before going s3d... I really hope that in the future, more and more games will be optimized for s3d, like Just Cause 2... For me, there is no turning back to "normal" "flat" 3d without s3d... 3D-Vision has really changed my gaming habits, and I am impressed how fast that happened.

btw... Will nvidia finally issue an "official" 3D-Vision Profile for GTA IV in order to be able to play with activated shadows?

I have been going back and testing all my old games out again, and I will be replaying most if not all of them due to the immersiveness of the 3d! Making all my games a new experience in itself is priceless. If I had to choose one, my favorite game right now in 3d is Flight Sim X with Dirt 2 coming in at a close second. You have to turn off the DX10 preview and the Bloom, but other than that I am running all settings on Ultra @ 1920x1080! I think we are going on 5 years since Flight Sim X was released and I am now finally seeing the full potential of this game. I just ordered my second GTX 480 and 2 more 3d monitors so I will be ready for the 256 driver release to rock the 3d surround. This is truly the next level of gaming! Dirt 2 has some ghosting issues or it could have been my favorite. 3d vision combined with a force-feedback steering wheel is a truly awesome experience. Seems the night races have more graphical issues than the day races (hopefully future driver releases will help this). Nvidia, you have really set the bar in PC gaming. Now that my eyes have adjusted to 3d, regular gaming just doesn't cut it. Flight Sim X is more demanding than any other game I have put on my system(I have most current titles such as Crisis, Crisis Warhead, FarCry2, Fallout3, etc.), and this one GTX 480 is running it so smooth I feel like I own a professional flight simulator.

I see lots of forum posts around the web where people are bashing nVidia for the release time of the drivers and the cost, but they obviously haven't witnessed 3d gaming on a 120 Hz 3d monitor. I scoff at these people. Their ignorance may have saved them money, but they aren't on the forefront of technology. They can add as many crappy monitors to their Eyefinity system as they want, 3 crisp 120 Hz monitors in 3d will make them look like a turd in a punchbowl every time. I salute nVidia for this latest bit of technology and truly look forward to fully testing it out. The 400 series cards are a step up from the 200 series cards and they kick the crap out of anything else on the market, so people shouldn't be complaining. Not to mention the fact they came out cheaper than the 200 series cards did when they were brand new.

So far to my shock I have found a solo 280 can run 3d 1080p 120hz fine for the majority of games.

Dragon Age Orign+Awakenings is insane in n3d

BC2 does push a solo 280 in 3d (hence im about to add some fermi's) But optomised for MP BC2 is jaw dropping in3d, I would rate it more intresting in 3d mp-sp than avatar which I got free with the specs. And the Acer 1080p 120 HZ LCD as about the most fun thing you could add to a gaming PC.

I would like to see a list from nvidia soon on 3d TV's that may also support N3d, some have their own IR trans' and glasses which may work with N3d drivers and or you could add official N3d glasses all the new systems seem to be active shutter from LG Sony Smamsung and Panasonic and I understand some 3d rated DLP's are not N3d ready so it would be nice for Nvidia to try and support this systems if possible. As some gamers will opt for a 40" LED tv for games not 1-3x 23.6" screens.

Left for dead is a different game in 3d as well I prefer it in 3d and found it dull in 2d!

For those buying N3d and fermi I would recommend Battlefield Bad Company 2 as being the stand out 3d title at 1080p and Left For Dead being something very different in 3d than it was in 2d.
