I have been doing tons of research trying to figure out the best way to get into 3D. The 3D vision system is amazing and I love what it does to gaming. I saw a demo of Just Cause 2 in a local boutique shop and new that this is the future! I thought for sure the gtx 480 was the answer but after seeing some very early customer reviews, I am not so sure. It looks like the 3d drivers for the 480 aren't quite there yet and for current generation games ( just cause, battlefield BC2, dawn of war 2) that a gtx 200 version card in sli is the way to go with better performance and overall value for your money. I checked my current card which is a evga superclocked gtx 275 bought in september of last year, but can't find an exact match for SLI on major online retailers (newegg). The current version available is the 275 overclocked for the win edition with the additional gts 250 for physics. I am mainly interested in 3d gaming and trying to get a decent/great frame rate with a acer 1920x1080 monitor. Is it worth looking for the exact same match to my card in order to do SLI? I have a 650 wt power supply, will that handle the two cards in SLI? Should I give it a month or two for the gtx 480 drivers to mature? Am I totally loosing my mind when it comes to 3d gaming? Thanks in advance for the help!

All you have to do is find another 275.As long as the Vram amount is the same the clock's can differ.Just put the faster clocked card in the primary pci-e 16 slot.
I'm not sure but you will probably have to upgrade your power supply to.We would need to know the make and model and amp's on the 12volt rail's to make sure.
In all honesty i think i would wait for some of the forum member's to give some real world review's on the 400 series.

Nice, thanks for your feedback. I found some cards on ebay finally but still a little leery to buy used computer components. Well then hopefully we can see some 480 reviews. Is there any chance to pick one of these up in the next month if I don't pounce on it by waiting in the newegg site all day tomorrow?

I would wait to hear about specific 3d drivers that will be coming out for the GTX 480...
I have read reviews on EVGA Forums that the GTX 480 only utilizes around 55% of the GPU, while 3d Gaming, thus yielding in poor results for 3d Gaming....
I know that SLI works, VERY WELL with 3d Vision
I would hold off for a few weeks. It's a win win for you. Either the GTX 275 goes down in price or GTX 480 gets matured drivers for better performance with 3d Vision!!
