I'm holding back installing and playing the game until 2K sort out the widescreen issue and until it works great in 3D like 2K said it would be! /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
EDIT: Also, if Nvidia are bringing out new drivers for 3d on bioshock 2, I REALLY hope they fix all the WoW problems on the new drivers so it runs just like how WoW runs on the 1.10 CD Drivers, I am actually using the 1.10 drivers - downgraded from the 1.20 cd drivers because WoW works on them great, and with the 1.20 cd drivers, its awful, I really hope they fix the wow problem and add increased bioshock 2 support together, I really don't wanna be stuck between having to choose the new / old drivers :( new for bioshock and old for wow /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />
Dark Void was certainly a pleasant surprise for me, considering all of the reviewer hatred. /turned.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':turned:' />

Yeah dark void was a fun game... but I wonder if it would have been boring without 3d vision... maybe that explains all those reviews XD
As for bioshock 2... try it with this
http://3dvision-blog.com/bioshock-2-custom...d-vision-users/
It really looks nice... Only thing that will probably make it better is depth but that probably wont happen untill the patch but when will that happen? XD

I'm starting to think reviewers need to get with the program and start reviewing 3d ready games with actual 3d equipment, otherwise their reviews are half formed and irrelevant to anyone that has a 3d kit. They could just mention what is lost by playing in 2d mode in comparison to the 3d experience. It sucks when hardcore reviewers are behind the gaming experience loop.

With what program are they supposed to go with I wonder? There are like 3 or 4 3d ready games out there right now. The great games are great no matter the amount of Ds, while impressive 3d visuals don't make Avatar a good game. At the moment it's nothing more than an added bonus for a niche audience.

The future? Probably. Right now it's mostly crappy, though. (sub-par glasses, sub-par screens, sub-par support) Imagine they tested a 3d advertised game such as Bioshock2 when it was released. They probably would have just slammed the feature, and rightfully so. Cuts performance in half and looks like ass. That's not really helping us.

Yeah, unless they had a brain. I mean, yeah, if they are absolute morons, then they might not realize that the game isn't 3d ready. Somehow I think they might be able to figure things out given some time. ...and yes we do need the exposure actually. Reviewing Dark Void in 3d, which is excellent, would do a lot for 3d stereo by showing that there are major advantages to 3d support at least in that particular game.
Sub par to what? What can you possibly compare it to that is perfect? I have been having the best gaming experiences I have ever had in my entire life because of stereo 3d. Hell, even ghosting can be wholly eliminated by going DLP.
Actually, 3d stereo can make a mediocre game quite decent. It took FEAR 2 from blah to huzzah, and make a good game amazing, it made Fallout 3 into an experience that is unparalleled. The experience of trekking across the broken landscape in 3d was a vast improvement over the flatland alternative.
There is general ambivalence to 3d stereo by much of the gaming public exactly because they don't know what they are missing. Exposure from reviews and reviewers would do a lot to help. It isn't as if every single game needs to be reviewed in 3d, just merely the ones that work well. If the game doesn't work well, then the reviewer can just say it didn't work well in 3d and wasn't reviewed in 3d, pretty simple stuff.

It is the future … but the future isn’t necessarily near. 3D this year at CES and the likes is being pushed the was HD was way back when. Just now people are finally starting to universally adopt HD as the costs have become reasonable for the average joe who isn’t a TV fanatic.
It will be the same way with 3D … limited content that works well for the limited audience that splurges BIG on 3D entertainment. Slowly more people will buy 3D capable displays as they become more affordable. Once this begins to happen then we will start seeing developers put more and more emphasis on 3D compatibility.
For example Bioshock 2. 2K dropped the ball on pc gamers and if you’re a 3d pc gamer you feel even worse. Think is Bioshock 2 is the kind of title that will sell millions across the board because it is just expected to be a good game. Of all those millions of copies sold … I would imagine that the number of people who bought the game ONLY because they expected it to be 3d ready is likely not even 10,000. Also I bet the number of people who bought the game regardless of it being 3d ready, but do have 3d capable setups at home, is under 100,000.
There is the problem. From a business standpoint the demand isn’t there to pump production dollars into something that isn’t going to yield a big return … and the lack of the feature isn’t going to cause any dramatic sales changes.
Inversely games that aren’t expected to be awesome across the board on PC are getting a better 3D treatment. Darkvoid. Horrid reviews, but everyone I know playing it in 3D says it is awesome in 3D and mediocre in 2D. I may just buy it because of 3D. Resident Evil 5 … they made their money with the console release. Most people who want RE play console. They made a PC version … I never would have even glanced at the game … but it was 3D ready. Same with Batman AA … another game that’s style is just more appreciated by console gamers. I never intended on getting it but … supported PhysX and 3D so I did. These games weren’t expected to be as big a success on PC as they were on console, but the developers put a little extra into them for us and I am sure many of us bought the games for those reasons only.
It is easy for us, early adopters, to ask if 3D is the future or not, but we aren’t average. The businesses, for the most part, don’t even hear our voices and if they did hear us ask, “When will you treat 3D like it is the future?†and they will probably respond, “When the average consumer treats 3D like it is the future.â€

It doesn't really work that way with 3d stereo. 3d isn't something you can see a screenshot of and be convinced. Reviewing of 3d ready games in 3d is exactly the sort of exposure we need. The gaming public doesn't know that they want 3d stereo yet because no one is telling them they want it. Until they can read about all the greatness they are missing out on, they will think it is something they can get away with not experiencing. In a 3d ready game, the 3d stereo component is a major feature, whether well adopted or not, and the feature should be included in the review. I mean, they review dx11 mode in games even though the adoption is still extremely small, but it would be unfair to review the game without it. Reviewing games in dx11 then pushes people to want to upgrade. It is actually quite simple.
Also, 3d stereo isn't all that expensive for someone that is willing to shell out for the latest video hardware anyway... and if a person is buying a new hdtv anyway, they can get a 3d ready hdtv for a comparable price if only they know about it. You cat get a 120hz lcd for less than $250 new now too. Until 3d stereo gets better exposure, people won't know they want it. It isn't a tech that is going to be preemptively clamored for by the gaming public. It just doesn't work that way.
The market actually pushes the gamers, not the other way around. Most gamers would be satisfied using what they have forever unless something new and better is shoved down their throat.

I agree completely and that is where it starts with us. Professional reviewers haven’t started reviewing in 3D yet so the only places they can read about the 3D experience is here. Unfortunately they come here and read about how we are constantly being slighted by Devs coughBioshock2cough, and spending hours upon hours trying to figure out how to tweak things for 3D … maybe we should start doing more formal reviews on games that work good in 3D. As it is now we do but not really in any formal manner. Usually it’s us just saying if a game did or didn’t work good in 3D not a whole lot more.
Also there aren’t enough places where people can demo 3d tech. I bought 3d Vision on a whim. I wanted a 120hz monitor for competitive CSS and figured what the hell it’s just 200 bucks when I am already throwing 500 at the monitor … I’ll get the kit too. I had never tried it. Now I love it.

So no word yet on a fix for Sammy DLP yet huh? This wait is getting tedious, and I just passed my 30 day mark to return my 3-d vision kit. Andrew please pop-in and give us some good news!!!!

You have the same TV as me. The latest drivers you can use are CD1.15. You will have to rollback to that driver setup. Let me know if you have any questions on how to do that.
Since we have the tv that we have, we don't have the luxory of using the newest barely functioning drivers

I'm holding back installing and playing the game until 2K sort out the widescreen issue and until it works great in 3D like 2K said it would be!
EDIT: Also, if Nvidia are bringing out new drivers for 3d on bioshock 2, I REALLY hope they fix all the WoW problems on the new drivers so it runs just like how WoW runs on the 1.10 CD Drivers, I am actually using the 1.10 drivers - downgraded from the 1.20 cd drivers because WoW works on them great, and with the 1.20 cd drivers, its awful, I really hope they fix the wow problem and add increased bioshock 2 support together, I really don't wanna be stuck between having to choose the new / old drivers :( new for bioshock and old for wow
Dark Void was certainly a pleasant surprise for me, considering all of the reviewer hatred.

As for bioshock 2... try it with this

But if i'm correct, it won't work for me as the profile is only included on the latest drivers? :(
