Nvidia now has a sub-forum for Virtual Reality
It has separate entries for
Oculus
HTC Vive
VR General Discussion
https://forums.geforce.com/default/board/168/virtual-reality/
I also see that a few of you have already posted there :)
I wondered the same things as both of you.
I can't help but wonder how much support they'll be offering after what a not so wonderful experience 3DTV Play has been with it's lack of support. (excluding hacks)

I've got only one question.
What happened to SLI VR?
Currently VR does not benefits from SLI.
Yet another BS promises from nVidia.
Why you guys gotta be so angry?
There's nothing BS about any of their claims. People don't understand something, then get mad about their misinformation.
Nvidia (and AMD) have a ton of VR initiatives. SLI is one of them. From day one, however, it's always been stated it CAN'T be done at the driver level. VR SLI must have the VR SDK incorporated into the engine (which things like Unity, Unreal, and Source2 have already committed to). The fact the there are no games that have included this SDK into their games probably comes down to two things:
1.) It's early. Things take time.
2.) Speaking of which: There aren't any consumer kits available. Why would you release a build with an early SDK when there aren't even any headset available yet.

Meh, I just question wether they'll support VR 100% or gimp it like 3DTV Play and I want to know what happened to Auto-Stereo.
You were also wondering the same thing not that long ago.

That's not true. I think they may have scrubbed their website a bit, but it was called Auto Stereo. You can see it in one of the sceenshots that was posted above.
They even had a webpage that outlined it in detail. Not only was it going to convert 3D Vision stereo to VR stereo, but they were going to have user settings for head tracking. You would be able to map how you wanted head movement mapped (ie Mouse, etc). It was incredibly ambitious sounding. And a heck of a hype seller for the just released 970/980 line. In hindsight, given Nvidia's driver struggles of late, it was laughablely ambitious.
The only thing we were speculating on was whether or not the Helix mod fixes would be supported or not:(
I think your on the outside looking in on his situation and he has SLI. He also can't run without SLI, or maybe just barely. I started a topic in VR section just to warn everyone not to get SLI for VR.
Yes, VR is new and finally coming retail.
SLI is a PRODUCT. That many people invested lots of money into. $1000 cards.
NVIDIA may have INVESTED towards development of technology. But they have not spent money "aligning pockets" of developers of VR engines.
Frankly if they got support of Unity this would be a non situation since like 8/10 games are on Unity. It is a huge failure on there part imo. Seriously, one engine and its a game changer. Its a big failure on there part.
SLI is not something NVIDIA pays a developer to look into fixing[I guess now we can say adopting] as of now. They EXPECT a developer to get it to work through massive ownership and complaints to developer. This is a whole new situation since its much much more difficult. On the offset, we might see support like 6 months down the line. Which is a bit of a situation for users who bought.
Can't really blame him since there is little information on SLI for VR AND SERIOUSLY gamers find out games have SLI when they come out till today. Heck most people see the day one drivers and it says supported game and try it out and a lot of times its still broke.
Only a real knowledgeable person would know that SLI is not going to be on system for quite a time. Its only really talked about by Cyberreality and you have to know who he is.

I know my GPUs are considered old tech and i'm looking forward to pascal.
nVidia are advertising some crap, but just sitting and waiting somebody to implement it.
If they get SLI working it's a win win situation (for them and for all sli users)
The future will tell
edit: now i see eqzitara already started the SLI topic in the VR section (:
i'll shift my moanings over there
