Any universal solution for adding second button/key activated convergence setting?
A second convergence setting is a common feature in many of our communities fixes and that's exactly what I need right now. Currently I am playing Killer Instinct and I totally love it. This game looks awesome in 3D Vision with high convergence settings. The only problem are those cinematic finishing moves that use a lot of close-ups. So right now it's compromise-time for me as I don't want to reduce the convergence too much but unfortunately the high convergence renders the cinematic finishing moves useless because of all those close-up scenes. I would like to know if there is any chance I could add a separate convergence setting which could be activated by pressing a key/button when those finishing moves occur. In Documents\NVStereoscopic3D.LOG I found a file named "KillerInstinctX64_r" with the following content: AppName='KillerInstinctX64_r' StereoSeparation=0.16729222 (3e2b4ea7) StereoConvergenceBias=0.00000000 (0) StereoConvergence=2.91376948 (403a7b33) MinRHW=9999.00000000 (461c3c00) (farthest) MaxRHW=-9999.00000000 (c61c3c00) (closest) Texture strategy(0x23): PRTE ESMTE TE Suggested StereoConvergenceMultiplier=5.00000000 (40a00000) Suggested Infinity RHW=0.00010471 (38db987e) StereoCutoff=1 (Far) LaserSight disabled In Game LaserSight disabled DX version=11.2 (WDDM2_2) ====================== Any idea if there is any way to add a second convergence setting which allows for switching convergence by pressing a key/button? How should I do it?

If it was dx9, I would say that this could likely be your answer http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/09/automatic-situational-depthconvergence.html It's awesome in the games where it has been applied. Perhaps 3Dmigoto has a similar feature?

Thanks D-Man! Unfortunately as of now there is no fix for Killer Instinct. It performs quite awesome in 3D Vision out of the box (there are some issues of course)! The lack of a fix also means there is no fix-related ini that I could modify. But it's ok. I'll just sacrifice some convergence so I can still enjoy the close-up finishers and still maintain decent convergence for gameplay!

I should be able to solve this but I got to ask how you get 3D Vision to engage at all? It's probably simple rerlatively speaking.

You could try to install the raw 3dmigoto wrapper without 3d fix. You can then set hotkeys for different convergence levels. Easiest way to do this is with 3D Fix Manager: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/986926/3d-vision/3d-fix-manager-application-for-installing-3d-vision-fixes-hotkey-editing-support/ I haven't created a profile for Killer Instinct in 3D Fix Manager yet but you can easily do this yourself by clicking on "New" in the lower left corner and then type in "Killer Instinct" in the field for the game title. After that click on "Search Steam DB" (some data should be found), confirm with yes and save by clicking on "Profil erstellen" (Just saw that I forgot to translate that button - sorry!). Now Killer Instinct should be listed. Select it and click on the button "Install Wrapper" -> "Install 3dmigoto". After that go to "Hotkeys" tab and click on "New Hotkey". Click in the field beside "Edit Key Binding" and press a key of your choice. Make sure key type is set to "toggle" and enable checkbox for Convergence in Preset 1. Set Convergence to 1.0 or even lower. Save and start the game. Good luck and hope this helps!

Yeah just install the wrapper. I have already tested it and it hooks. (created a thread about it a while ago.) Then simply set up a couple of keys or a toggle which achieves this in the dx.ini. e.g
[Key1] Key = XB_LEFT_SHOULDER Type = cycle Convergence = 50, 299 transition = 250 transition_type = linear
transition settings optional. Or do it the 3dfixmanager way as Pauldusler states
I should be able to solve this but I got to ask how you get 3D Vision to engage at all? I am playing the game on my LG 4K OLED (EDID override), my Acer Predator XB272 and on my Alienware 17M R5. On all those devices 3D Vision kicks in without any issues. I am a very happy user of the 3D Fix Manager just since last weekend (übrigens kein Problem, dass Du den Button für die Profilerstellung nicht übersetzt hast) ;-) I'll go to bed now but doing all the steps you described above will be the first thing to do for me tomorrow morning!

SORRY Necro! I totally overlooked your comment yesterday. After reading Flugan's and Paul's comment I instantly answered those (thinking those were the last comments written in this thread). Now I just headed for the thread to do all the steps and suddenly became aware that you already delivered GREAT SERVICE yesterday. Thanks alot, dude! Will try that NOW!

Looks like I'll be getting the steam version as well as my previous MS Store version. Have been buying a lot of DX12 games lately to test my wrapper. Currently waiting for my salary that should arrive on monday as I currently can't afford the steam version today :(

Just gave it a try and I am blown away! I just followed your instructions Paul and it worked like a charm! Even the value you suggested for convergence turned out to be just perfect! I already was expecting "hours" of fine tuning with swtching between the game and value modifying in the Fix Manager. So I started with 1.0 for convergence and with that value I tried one of the finishers. This value is exactly the sweet spot. In the "finisher-scene" were the close-up is at its strongest 1.0 is exactly the breaking-point were a notch above that value would be too much! The 3D Fix Manager is an awesome tool for this feature alone (beside all the other great features it offers)! Thanks again Paul and check your PayPal! ;-) Also great thanks to Necro and Flugan for your help!

I can't use 3dmigoto hotkey convergence override with compatibility mode. It works while in real 3D mode as expected but not working with CM. Am I missing some specific setting or is it not possible with CM? Trying to use it with AC Origins, set override key to left trigger. Works in R3D but not with CM.

Just wild guessing which value could work :). Btw generally for finetuning you can switch to Hotkeys tab and activate the option "Enable Stereo Overlay in Game". With this you see the current convergence value ingame, set it to a suitable value, pres alt+tab to switch back to 3D Fix Manager and save the value. Back in game press F10 to reload the modified ini file. Thx for the donation!

Well, of course your suggested value for convergence was just a lucky guess but that was the cherry on the cake that made the whole stuff even greater! Thanks for the finetuning advice!
