grab only one camaras.xml file (for any car) and copy-paste (replace the original) in all folders cars...Backup the entire folders first. I don't like cockpit view so i don't test it....but mike post that work for him.

Yes!
Guess what. It was me being a moron!
I put the folders into the car folder!
Edit
Noooo! Cockpit view is 2D :(
Just superimposed them. There is a teeny weeny amount of separation the further back you go but so slight it isn't worth it.
Gutting.
I guess it is time to get used to overhead cam

I can't edit my previous post...damn forum
Test the cameras.xml with one car before going crazy and copy-paste in all car folders (i include the car list)

I take the "Chase Far Camara View" and change position and target camera view, also increase FOV a little....so now that view looks like the bumper view....the downside is if you crash the car to hard, you can see the side of the car for a moment (the car move in front of the camera)
literally you can put the camera anywhere, even inside the car (cockpit view)

@DHR
You sir are a genius!
Even though it is plainly obvious, I checked to make sure your bumper cam fix really is 3D, and it is.
Thanks! You have basically fixed my purchase!
I am the brother who keeps on wanting... How tricky would it be to use the chase near camera view to replicate the bonnet view?
GRID 2 is now awesome in 3D. Night racing is fine.

i'm not going to lie....i saw it comming...jejeje
I want to make a version for bonnet view and cockpit view.
You might want to push out the bumper cam slightly because it gets hidden when using larger vehicles...

The right way is to change cameras one by one for each car....but is to much job.
Download again (same link), i move the camera a little bit more.
For Bonnet and cockpit will happen the same, and do it for only one camera not ensures that will work for others cars....i will do a test.
Bad news for bonnet and cockpit view....i can put the camera in the correct place, but the entire car now is transparent....i think is because the camera is inside the car or touching the car (like object)....don't look good. And also the position change for every car.
i think the Bumper camera is the best we can do tweaking. I submit a ticket report for this.

Great work, I was going to have a fiddle with this as well, but have not had time. For the cockpit view, the mod first referenced (which I tried) provides cockpit view without the car being transparent - have you checked how they are doing it to see what's different? I also submitted a ticket for the whole convergence bugs (hotkeys not working, bumper/hud cam etc) so hopefully the message will get some attention...

Bumper cam it is then! To save effort could you select say three car sizes and produce bumper cams for those cars which could then be used for similar sized cars? I don't know if this will work but if we imagine a scale for the range of car length in the game, with 1 being the shortest and 6 for the longest. You could design a bumper cam at 2.1 for cars up to 2, 4.1 for cars up to 4.1 and 6.1 for cars up to 6. Have the devs posted any specs for the vehicles? That might make it easier to do.
@Mike_Ar69
When I tried the cockpit cam and superimposed the screenshot, there was very little vergence; it was practically 2D (perhaps a tiny amount of 3D) pushed back. Like Sleeping Dogs: when in vehicles very low 3D but pushed back at depth; when on foot 3D fine. :(

Yeah. Post processing lowest setting. Also only the chase cameras are true 3D, the bumper and bonnet cams are 2D plus depth.
