Rise of the Tomb Raider 2016 - 3D Vision Fix
Hey Helifax, just wanted to see if you or any other surround user has noticed this: The First 2 revisions of the fix seemed to be ok, but the last 2 have had a weird lighting issue. It is noticeable right at the main menu, when I upgraded the fix I could instantly see something was amiss, now, it's subtle and may not even be an issue when actually playing. It's not a catastrophe, but my thoughts were "IF this issue is present here, it might be present in other areas. If I go back to the first & maybe the second revision of the fix, the issue isn't there, so it's definitely related to the fix itself. So I am just bringing this to your attention for your own knowledge and to see if it goes any further than the menu. So, I am going to post some screenshots, one with and one without the issue and I'd be curious to see what you make of it. Still though, overall my son and I continue to be amazed at the beautiful world you guys have breathed depth and immersion into, not to mention the few features exclusive to your fix regarding convergence and the custom 'pure hair' compromiser. Thanks again, ~Nutz EDIT: Not sure how to insert pic into post - Also, no game settings are changed or different between the 2 pics. The Pic I just posted is the pic with the issue, it is related to the lamp on the desk and that corner in general. I have to roll back the fix and take a pic that doesn't have the issue so that will take me a bit, but maybe you will see it right off. Be back soon!
I am playing in Surround and I can't see any difference between any of the versions. I think your Nvidia Profile got changed. Try to import the NIP file again. (I can't see any images attached btw).
Just wanted to tell You that in the actual fix d3dx.ini contains: hunting=2 (instead of 0) Is this intentional?
It doesn't really matter. There is no performance impact if you don't enable the shader hunting, as by default is off anyway. @DarkStarSword: Big thx for the info;) I'll just generate all the SHR file then, rename them to bin and that should be it no?:)

It doesn't really matter. There is no performance impact if you don't enable the shader hunting, as by default is off anyway.

With the fix or without it I get exactly the same FPS in both 2D and 3D. The loading time is because of the shader switch the fix does. If you are using PureHair On, try to set it OFF. That is by far the biggest FPS eater.

I think with surround enabled it works with single screen resolutions. It happens with their SBS also. Samething as the bezel corrected resolutions.

Great Benchmark helifax! I do a benchmark with my system, because i want to see how many fps i lost using the 610.1 version of the game + the community fix, and actually the fps are almost the same, BUT with the community fix you have a perfect 3D (without missing lights and wrong effects) I tested in Geotermal Valley, looking direct to the forest in one spot that the game kills fps. Using single GPU, 1080p Top and Bottom mode, GPU is on 98% in both cases: * Official Fix (patch#4) --> lowest fps 29fps * 610.1 version + Community fix --> lowest fps 27fps Also i overclock my GPU to 1.5ghz...but seems OC'ing the GPU don't add more fps, but now the GPU is 88% and CPU is about 70% (i have room for more fps). Lowering the seetings also don't give too much additional fps. Maybe there is some limitation with the engine, or the 3-core issue....who knows!

I've been experimenting on my rig (see sig) and projector. Helix's community fix is awesome for me except for in set action pieces, sometimes I get significant screen tearing (maybe because of SLI). FPS performance is better on the community fix with 3D vision activated but if I run the dev fix on side by side, it produces the best 3D framerates of the 3 options. Also the detail at 1080p side by side is better than 720p frame packed on my projector even with super sampling through a custom resolution (1080p or 1440p). Bottom line, I'm not sure what my best course of action is. This game makes me wish I could achieve 1080p 60hz 3D on my projector like none before it. With our community's fix, on my 3d vision monitor at 1080p, this is the most visually impressive game I've played. Playing on a 24 inch screen after playing on a projector though, not sure I can do it.... Again, big thank you to all who worked on this fix.

Yeah I know that projector trap ;P ... for me it's the same ... rather some losses and playing on 110" than most perfect on 24" :DD ... unfortunately 1080p 120hz isn't possible until projectors will have double dvi ... anyhow ... for me it would be enough at the moment to have normal fps ;)

The FPS drop is significantly less than using 3D vision for me.

Nop ... wasn't an option for me ... perhaps, until now :D ... but the dev fix with 3D vision isn't nice already, can't believe SBS makes that better ;) Also, my fps with devs fix with 3D vision is ok 25-35, with this fps I would play the game if it would looks like the community fix ;)
Hold your horses. Latest version of 3DMigoto also has the SBS option. Is not part of the current release, but if DHR will help we will add it to the current fix:) This way you will be able to use the community fix in SBS mode. Don't know about the FPS though;) Could be the same, could be worse than the official fix;) As you can see we are still improving the fix and tweak it:)

@Helifax here is the d3dx.ini: https://s3.amazonaws.com/dhr/d3dx/d3dx.ini The game will start in TB (reversed TB x7=5), F11 to cycle Remember to copy the hlsl files and replace both dll Also i'm using cache_shaders=0 in the ini...i have less stutter. Waiting for the BIN version :)
