Hi guys, Just wanted to say thanks for the effort you are putting in making fixes for this and other games. For me it's working quite ok on win7 x64 with 352 driver, flugan's alpha 0.04 and 3d surround: game has crashed twice during some 5+ hours of gameplay - once on reload and once during a fight vs wolfs. Did 5-7 reloads yesterday evening when I was dying in a fight and it worked with no crash. I'm running everything on ultra except hairworks=Off and Foliage Visibility Range=High; Projector and game resolution are 1280x720 @60Hz and I've got steady 60FPS so far. I've tried the game in 1920x1080 @24Hz but it feels somehow slow and un-responsive ... first I though I didn't get enough FPS - but I tested with Fraps and had steady 24FPS; than I though my game-pad batteries are drained out so I changed them, but still the gameplay did not feel right. After reading some articles and discussions about this I found out that a lot of gamers cannot play on 24Hz. Do any of you play on 1080p 24Hz? does it feel/work ok?
Almost no one can play at 24Hz, so you are not alone. Some games are almost passable, such as sim builders, or slow moving stuff, but anything fast moving is a no go usually.

Just tried disabling it in Control Panel - bingo. Loaded game 10 times in a row - everything smooth as butter. But enabled back 3D Vision and here we go - crash on second load with complete freeze. Tried disabling SLI, but that makes absolutely no difference. Anyone there, what can I (we) try to fix issue? :/ I just can't force myself into playing this game in 2D, and in 3D it's non-playable at all... Thanks. P.S. Seems like nVidia is doing it's best to kill 3D Vision. This time in different manner. First GTA 5, now Witcher 3...
If i don't mistake mike_ar69 said he manage to understand what's the crash problem and he work on a fix.
Not really, most game crashing issues are just that - the game. However, bo3b and darkstarsword have made a number of improvements to the 3DMigoto dll to improve it's stability and limit any affect it might have on the game. I personally do the shader fixing - the stuff that makes it correct 3D - and I am working on the remaining issues with specular reflections and other lighting issues (with darkstarsword as well). This may be a game that simply crashes a lot and there is not much to be done, but I will say that I have had very few crashes personally, even though I am doing the shader fixes - this game is much better to work with than was DAI or Lords of the Fallen, both of which were nightmares. I guess I am quite tolerant of crashes and restarts...

Btw, since latest driver added CM mode to The Witcher 3 officially, I consider it as a supported title now... Yeah, Helifax, probably you right. "Patience" pill is the only remedy I have :/ And yes, I've tried DA:I way long ago. Actually, that was the first "fix" I've tried to apply. However, it doesn't hurt to try again, since driver was updated. I just wonder, how came some of you, guys, have very few crashes, and some (like me) having them all the freaking time? Is it Windows version, GPU family or something else?.. Is there any common denominator for this issue? Also, I remember someone to talk about "evil" Windows update. Could someone remind me its code and whether I should have it INSTALLED or REMOVED? Thanks.

Just to mention that I have since hours over hours no crashes. I am using th alpha 3 fix. Newest driver. Newest patch and do not die (play in on very easy). ;) Hairworks is disabled and now Overclocking enabled, also no change in terms of volt.

Makes it hard to find problems sometimes. A lot of times the game dev works out the problems, and you get something playable a couple of months after it releases. This is why I am in no rush to play anything just released- they never finish them before they ship. Right now would be an excellent time to play DragonAge while you wait for Witcher to stabilize for example. For the evil update KB2670838- check if it's loaded on your system or not- then try the opposite. Because systems tend to get hammered over time, it's also worth trying a clean-install of the entire OS. You don't necessarily have to wipe your current setup, you could try a dual-boot of a clean partition and see if that fixes the problems. Then you'd know it was your current install.
One thing to test though;)) Does it crashes if Compat Mode is enabled ?
Yes, it does. Actually, I've been playing with CM mode only. It looks pretty damn good, and I'm getting consistent 60 FPS with almost maxed out settings on my 970 SLI. I've tried 0.04 ALPHA version of fix, and game really looks much better. But I've lost 15 FPS at once :)

I have no crashes if 3D Vision is turned off in Control Panel.

I added the 2 DLC packages today and I can no longer run the game full screen . It added to the X64 directory d8input.dll d3dll.dll and dxgi.dll. So beware of the 2 DLC packages. will add follow up
