What are your specs for 3d vision
Hi there - relatively new to the 3d vision gang so I'm playing through a few of the "perfect" rated games. Happy to say that most are running well (above 30 fps) on my semi modern pc but I'd like to get more of an idea what people are playing on and what games work best. Iv googled searched but there doesn't seem to be many performance threads. So here's hoping for all your input, I'll start:

Works well: left 4 dead, left 4 dead 2, farcry 2, Alice 2, Starcraft 2, crysis 2, call of duty modern warfare, valve games in general
Doesn't work well (regularly below 30 fps); batman AA, bad company 2, prototype

My specs
M3n78am motherboard
Phenom 2 x6 - 3.4 ghz
Cool n quiet 850 watt psu
Single gtx 480
8gb ram

I'm running:

Core i7 870 (2.9Ghz before TB)
EVGA Superclocked 570
8GB DDR3 1333

My OS (Win 7) is on a SSD and most of my games are on a WD Black 500GB drive.

I can run Prototype in 3D no problems max settings (although no AA, not having AA really doesn't bother me).

I've been running BFBC2 on medium, but haven't played it in a while so I never bothered to push it to high.

Ran B:AA on max settings no problem.

Company of Heroes and Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War (II and II CR) both look absolutely amazing in 3D. These games could be the poster children for 3D. I nabbed some screen shots a while back that really captured just how incredible 3D gaming is, tracer rounds shooting out of the screen, tank barrels sticking out at you, explosions near screen depth making stuff pop out at you as well as into the screen, great stuff.

I can also run Civ 5 on max settings, looks great in 3D! I haven't tried max map size since updating RAM (was at 4GB before). After recent updates the max map size became unstable for me and I haven't bothered to try it since.

EDIT: Like Pixel, I'm using the ASUS HN274H (27" 3D Ready LCD) - love it!

so many good rigs, nice for you /w00twave.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':w00twave:' />
mine is a little bit lower...e6750 as CPU + 4 Gb RAM + Geforce 450GT 1 Gb + ViewSonic 3D 22"
I can run all games in 3D...when Nvidia is pleased enough to issue new drivers for some of them /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I've got a GeForce 480 and i7 980 computer/crock pot. I haven't seen a game yet that gets unacceptable framerate in 3D but I'm fine with framerates until they drop below 20 or so. Also, when I play, I've got everything else OFF. No MP3 player, no Twitter, no instant messanger, no weather bug, just a virus scanner that (hopefully) isn't doing much.

Hello everyone

Finally after five years of upgrading my rig, here are the specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 990X
Motherboard: ASUS Rampage III Extreme
Memory: 12 Gb of DDR3 Kingston HyperX 1600 Mhz
PSU: Corsair 1000 watt
Hard disk drive: WD Caviar 500 Gb 7200/rpm (I'm saving up to get some more disks in the future)
Case: Cooler Master Cosmos 1000
LCD: ASUS VG236 3D monitor
GPU: ASUS MARS II Limitid Edition (Only 1000 produced in the world)

No problem here running all the newest games in 1920x1080 with Ultra settings and everything maxed out. It looks so stunningly awesome in stereoscopic 3D. I cannot imagine playing in 2D anymore. /tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Note. I wore prescription glasses under the NVidia glasses in the start, but it was so uncomfortable that I made the shift to contact lenses.

My specs are in my sig below. /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I play all kinds of games. Been playing games all my life. So I won't list all of them...but I have about 60 games in my steam menu alone.
The only game that really taxes my system in 3d is Just Cause 2. And only if I'm running with 32xCSAA. Two 570's are fast. /yes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Rig specs in sig below. Don't really have any problems with the performance side of things with my rig with 3D Vision enabled, the main problem is the level of support on both sides of the fence by Nvidia and game developers. It seems like the industry is getting more invested in stereo 3D but the actual level of support has stayed the same, or maybe even gotten worst with all of this vendor-specific 3D title support.....

Intel i5-750 (quad core 2.66GHz) overclocked to 4GHz (air cooled)
460GTX 1GB x2 in SLI, overclocked @ ~820/2150mhz
8GB RAM
Win7 64 bit
Intel SSD primary, 2x 1GB RAID 0 secondary

With this rig I have yet to play a game that will go below 30fps @ 1920x1080 with everything maxed. If you're wondering about performance on your machine, just open up Task Manager and watch the CPU usage, along with MSI Afterburner to monitor the GPU usage, and you can see where you may have a bottleneck in the system.

comp is in my sig, and it runs metro 2033 maxxed out with no slow downs. every other new game is consul garbage so ive never had any frame rate issues so far at 1080p 3d. i have not had to upgrade in a year and a half! the physX card made a huge difference in metro. without it i had to lower the AA down one notch to get playable frame rates.

Panasonic VT25 (nice 2d but I returned it due to cross talk)

Acer H5360 720p on 130" screen (the best 3d)

23" Acer LCD monitor (horrible cross talk- sold it)

Samsung 65D8000

Well like most games in 3D vision, you don't have to max out AA to still get smooth edges. But any other tips are pretty much dependant on your hardware so it's impossible to tell you what will work and what won't. I am running everything on highest settings except blur (I think it's blur - been a while since I fired up B:AA) because it doesn't render correctly in 3D vision, and AA since it isn't needed. With the handy benchmark test built into the game, I'm getting around 30 fps minimum, which is completely playable for me.

I can tell you that having 2 video cards SLI linked is way better than only having one, regardless of it's size. I can play anything in my collection at max or near max settings, including The Witcher 2, and that wouldn't be possible with only one 450GTS.
