Final Fantasy IV remake and Final Fantasy IV: The After Years Stereoscopic 3d?
  1 / 2
hi.............. I have a 3dtv. I know, it's weird. anyway... yet again I am bending over backwards trying to figure out how to hack something to run stereo 3d. please tell me how to make this run in 3d. I have tried it on the obsolete iz3d.exe in windows 7, various versions of tridef.exe on various operating systems (7, 8.1, 10 technical preview), and NVidia's stereo 3d with various NVidia inspector profiles on various OSes to absolutely no avail. I don't understand why this is always so hard. CTRL + T rarely if ever works when I want it to :\ p.s. ... plz tell me how to make DeSmuMe.exe Nintendo ds emulator games run in 3d too. lol--and plz don't say any of this is impossible. if there is 1 viewport creating a 2d image from a given angle it is possible to alter it and have two. thanks. p.s. why not make some side by side solution for opengl games like the dolphin.exe gamecube/wii emulator does... always seems like only directx9 works in 3d :\ anyway... sorry--frustrated with shelling out thousands of dollars in 2015 for 3d and it still being IT work. back on my own topic. plz help me make these spectacular remakes run in stereo 3d. thanks! <3

p.s. just to be clear, I am talking about the "steam" (PC) remake of FFIV (which was a port of it's original appearance on Nintendo ds. pc version is cooler because it's higher resolution, sharper textures, and not the stupid vertical dual screen layout like on the DS emulator) ... and the newly released sequel FFIV: the after years (also for PC, released on steam today--this one was an ios/droid port). both games employ a matrix graphics engine, whatever that means. really hope someone can help me figure out a solution because these awesome remakes of awesome games would be really awesome in 3d.

It's up to game developers to implement stereoscopic features into their games. Nvidia's stereoscopic drivers will work with some games by default, with some being more broken than others. The community has fixes for a lot of games that do not have developer integration. http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/10/game-list-automatically-updated.html Unfortunately, FFIV is dx10. The community doesn't have a fully developed dx10 wrapper. So there isn't a fix for these games. Have you tried to see if you can force dx9 in them? BTW the community has fixes for FINAL FANTASY XIII and FINAL FANTASY XIII-2, if you are interested in them by chance.

3DVision no longer works at all in FFXIII (can't verify XIII-2, but I would assume so). Ever since the last patch 3D Vision will not enable. Major bummer, it looked great in stereo.

yes I've heard about the final fantasy xiii and xiii-2 helixmod patches to force 3d. not really interested in those. 13 was ok, but I've played them all. I am very interested in the ff4 remake and sequal. like... it's ALL I want to play in 3d right now lol. so--yes I have tried to force them to run in directx9--by adding "-d3dx9" to the end of the shortcut or whatever. is there some other way to force directx9 that I am unaware of? because that did not work. as for directx 10, tridef and iz3d both claim to run directx10 games but I have gotten nothing but 2d no matter what I try... someone please help. anything :\

Your other option is to try one of the experiment dx10 wrappers. Flugan and 3Dmigoto both have one, but neither is fully developed. With luck, one of them will get 3D to kick in and it won't be too broken. If working and broken, refer to https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/766890/3d-vision/bo3bs-school-for-shaderhackers/ BTW this is a user to user forum, the chance that someone from Nvidia will read this is ...slim to none.

ok got it! just did a google search for "Flugan directx10 wrapper" and "3Dmigoto directx10 wrapper" and couldn't find anything. any way you could provide me with links to these incomplete wrappers? I would love to test them and post my progress or hopefully results here.

yeesh. looks extremely complicated. I was hoping for a .nip profile for NVidia inspector or just some patch or something. I tried putting those directx 10 d3d files from the one link in same directory as game, didn't work. hope someone can find a way to help get some kind of 3d profile working for these amazing games.

Just placed my dx10 wrapper into my one drive. Take the ini file from root and then dx10 wrapper with probably 32-bit version. Decompiler 47 dll is not needed on win 8.1. One thing possible is dumping shaders. I don't remember the state of all features as you pretty much need to transfer code from dx11 version across. If you want to help testing and collaborate on this wrapper then PM me.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.

progress report: downloaded and extracted D3DFluganWrapperInit, D3D10.dll, and d3dcompiler_47 tried putting them in game's main (32 bit) directory, game's plugins directory, windows/system32, and windows/syswow64. in windows 8.1 and 10 technical preview. with and without d3dcompiler_47. with and without the "-dx9" extension on shortcut. and linked to various NVidia inspector profiles, and not. and all ten thousand possible combinations therein. nothing works. I have no idea if I am putting these files in the proper directory, just a guess. nor do I know how to dump shaders. testing and collaborating on the wrapper sounds fun but I am only interested in this game and lack the time and skills for much else. would really appreciate some help figuring out a profile for these 2 games specifically. the funny thing is i'm pretty good at finding and configuring solutions usually. have gotten ppsspp.exe psp emulator to run in 3d with a special .nip profile based on one someone wrote for dolphin.exe, dolphin.exe (before it's recent stereo 3d additions), final fantasy xiv online (tridef power3d mode), final fantasy xi online (NVidia inspector with pol.exe unlinked from "all play online games" and linked to "final fantasy xi benchmark 3"), pcsx2.exe ps2 emulator (with the GSdx3D_Dlls_rev68m plugin), project64 (on iz3d.exe in windows 7), there's even a 3d version of the snes9x super Nintendo emulator. can't for the life of me figure out final fantasy iv remake (pc version or the Nintendo ds version, desmume.exe, or any other NDS emulator games--more interested in the pc version of the ff4 remake and it's pc sequal ff4 the after years). plz help... and please don't tell me to play the psp remake of 4 and psp the after years those ones are in 2d and not the topic at hand... lol. *afk for 20 years till an ai robot creates the 3 step solution*

perhaps you should try getting compatibility mode to work then, read the stickies.

Unless I have the actual game I can't figure out any configuration. Sometimes the game force loads from system32 folder or requires weird folder arrangement. I have not looked at the code in a while the fact that I don't have visual studio installed yet after a windows refresh a while back.
