Awaiting 3D vision and 3D projector...

EDID overrides are useful for certain 3D displays that don't initialise 3D properly - you won't need it with the W700. They won't make a non-3D display into a 3D display.
yeah i meant for the monitor, so i guess that doesnt work since its not 120hz etc.
Some people tried to make the 34" ultra-wide monitor work with EDID overrides, but couldn't get anything to work. For EDID overrides to work, it generally has to be hardware that is similar, not too far off from a supported model. Like the next generation hardware, that they didn't pay the Nvidia tax for, but has the same guts. However, I've seen a bunch of people having good success with 4K TV EDID overrides. The slowest I've seen 3D Vision successfully work was 90Hz, for 45Hz per eye on old CRT monitors.

Ok, that's good to know :) Edit: Got the projector + glasses, had some problems at first, thought the batteries were dead, but seems to be working now. Just tried Deus Ex Human Revolution. The 3D is nice, there's not ghosting that i can see so that's really great.. the depth is similar or perhaps a bit less than on the Plasma.. guess i'll have to try Grow Home again to see what the difference is, since i never tried Deus Ex with Tridef.

For Human Revolution in particular, they have a built in 3D, but it's partly busted. It's at super low depth, even on their 'max' setting, something like 15% of normal 3D Vision. On projector this will look mostly OK, because you need less depth on Projector than you do on monitor. But it will be roughly comparable to your TV if it is at distance, not up close. So Human Revolution is not a great test case. It also has graphic glitches that have not been fixed, that are easy to ignore, but not nearly as good as some of our recent fixes. Look for anything fixed by DarkStarSword and nearly anything fixed by DHR for examples of spot-on 3D games. Occasional games are terrific with built-in 3D. TombRaider (2013 or so), GTA5, Trine series, Batman Arkham series. To add a note to bo3b's recommendation list, Arkham Knight isn't 3D-compatible, so don't try that one :)

Many thanks, gotta try Tomb Raider 2013, bought it ages ago and has been on the "should play"-list for quite some time :) There's actually some in-game settings for the 3D in DX: HR that i has missed at first, so now the depth is quite nice.. If you havent tried Grow Home you should try it, it's really great (and cheap), looks fantastic in 3D imo, especially if you like insane heights. Graphics can be a turn off if you don't "get" that style i guess. The Convergence setting seems to work sometimes but most of the time it doesnt do anything, even if i hold the keys for a 30-40 seconds. With TriDef you could always tweak this setting. Now i just need something to project on other than my white-yellowish wallpaper, bet that's gonna make this even better :)

Convergence works in most games, but DX isn't one of them. Sometimes you do need to hold it for 30+ seconds to notice a difference though, so that's not unusual.

I own an Optoma HD33 and Pana Plasma, I play most on my TV (which is in my gameroom) but the LDP Projector is absolutely. There is no ghosting and you can set depth to 100% (as opposed to my TV, where I have to stop at 10%-20% due to ghosting. Shame we still have to play in 720p, but I rather play a 3D game in 720P then a 2D one in 4k.

I agree with you there Shappy, my monitor is 3440x1440 and 34" (ultrawide), but most games i will play on the projector in 720p. The 3D and size is such a huge plus that its hard to ignore.. I havent checked, but i probably get a good boost of FPS in 720p as opposed to 4K.. I dont know what kind of FPS loss (if any) you get with 3D vision turned on.

You can usually expect a 50% framerate loss in 3D, though this varies per game. 720p is a lot less demanding than 4k though, so that helps a lot.

Under Set Keyboard Shortcuts. Convergence key and disabling CM will not work unless that is unlocked.

Thanks and yes i'm aware of that, been doing quite a bit of reading :) 50% loss, wow, that's more than i thought, i guess it renders the screen x 2 so its understandable.

Man, it's been a great 1.5 weeks with Nvidia 3D Vision and the Benq W700 :D Really love 3D, i really dont get people who think 3D is overrated and whatnot, are they seeing the same thing we do?? By pure chance i browsed a Swedish auction site and found a brand new Benq MH741 1080P 3D projector for a really good price (too good to pass up) so i just had to bid on it and to my surprise i won :D Seems like the 3D for this one is getting some really good reviews.. its 4000 ansi so really bright, which i guess can be good for 3D since you lose much of the brightness with 3D. Specs: 3D 144 Hz Triple Flash, Full HD, 1920 x 1080 Pixel, Kontrast 10.000:1, 4000 ANSI Lumen Frame Sequential (up to 720p) Frame Packing (up to 1080p) Side by Side (up to 1080p) Top Bottom (up to 1080p) Could this one work with nvidia 3D vision with that override "hack"? Still too much of a noob to understand what the requirements for 3D Vision on a projector is and what can or can't be done with EDID override.
