3d Vision with Asus Rog Swift and SLI (ETA for FIX)
6 / 17
I had a Swift that I picked up back in August of last year, and 3D vision worked fine with 2x780Tis in SLI. I had to RMA that Swift as it stopped working properly, looked like crap unless using ULMB - the text was all fuzzy and what not. When the new RMA came in, 3D vision still works.
I have used it in a few games - Elite Dangerous being the most popular of them that some may recognize here. In SLI mode. Latest drivers. I installed the Swift monitor drivers as well. There's no black lines or any other stuff - other than the regular incompatibility issues with some games. ArmAIII, for example, won't launch with 3D vision enabled.
However, I can't enable 3D vision with SLI enabled. I have to disable SLI, enable 3D vision, and then enable SLI and it works. Both cards are used, 3D vision is on, and no issues other than the aforementioned known compatibility issues with certain titles. In order to go back to non-3D vision I have to disable SLI, and then disable 3D vision, and then re-enable SLI.
But if you guys are having problems with visual line issues, I don't see that. I just can't enable 3D vision unless I do it in single card and then enable SLI.

I decided to just stick with my Asus 278H for now. I read up on the huge Samsung 4K TV thread over at Hardforum and took the plunge on a 48" 4K 3DTV. I will probably still use the Asus for 3D gaming on the PC and use the TV for 4K gaming and everything else. I will see how the Oculus Rift and other similar devices pan out to see if that tech is worth spending money on. Hopefully the issues on this monitor get resolved for those of you that purchased it.

Of course you're not experiencing the 'only one card being used in 3D+SLI' issue....you're using 780Ti SLI. This problem is only being experienced by users of 900 series onwards so I don't know what you're complaining about lol. That's nothing compared to the issue we're facing here....

It is not 900 only issue. I had the same problem with 600 series. Thing is that some games perform well in SLI wit ROG Swift and for some of them you have to set frame rate restriction to get the image right (not fuzzy).
I`ve made a list of tested games which works well in SLI - but don`t remember where. GTAV, Max Payne 3 works great for example.

Did you even read what I said? I'm not complaining. First, it's not just 900 series. The OP of this thread has a Titan Black which uses the GK110. Guess what the 780Ti has?
Second What are you talking about only one card? I have two cards in SLI, SLI only works with two cards. I have two 780Tis in SLI and use 3D vision and don't experience the issues. I'm saying, in order to GET 3D vision to work I have to enable it in single card mode and then enable SLI.
Honestly, not even sure what you are talking about. I get that you only care about your problem and are selfish about that as you only want your problem fixed but there are users with non-900 series card in this thread and they are having issues other than your issue which I'm guessing your problem of a single card working in SLI with 3D vision. Such as the black lines issue.
If you'll notice, the topic and OP say nothing about 900 series only, and again you'll notice the OP has 3 Titan Blacks which are the same GPU as the 780Ti, and he doesn't mention 900 series.
I was offering info on how my SLI runs with 3D vision and what steps I had to take to get it working.
So keep "lol"ing genius.

Can you explain that. What i see is that you starting game with SLI "off" and then after starting game you switch that to "on" to get 3D to work or SLI to scale properly. I am confused. Please explain a little bit more.

I don't think this method would be possible, a dialog box should open asking you to close the open applications before SLI will become active?

That`s why i asked him for explanation because that wasn`t make any sense to me.
Also as we all learned some unconventional approaches are more effective then we suspect and maybe he already found one.

As far as I know anything before the 900 series will not suffer from this problem as long as you roll back to one of the older drivers. There's another thread where a 780Ti SLI user already confirmed this. Users of 900 series and onwards can't do this as that older driver came before the 900 series was even launched, and thus is not compatible.
Regardless, you really thought no one tried this little "trick" of yours before this?? If you even paid any attention in the slightest about what's been happening, you'll realise this has been a serious problem for a long time for many of us. No simple trick would fix this. Even Nvidia are having a tough time and are taking a long time to come out with a fix. And FYI I've already tried your supposed fix a long time back and it never worked.
So yeah a huge LOL to that. And I don't see anything wrong with 'lol'íng as long as there's something to lol about.
Another possibility is that you haven't actually tried with many other games, as some games work for me too in SLI+3D, while most don't. So perhaps you should try it with more games first and see if you really totally do not get the only-1-gpu-is-used-in-SLI+3D bug.
And for the rest of you non-900 series users, try rolling back to the older drivers like I mentioned and then see if it works.

TitanX SLI owner here, windows 7 latest driver. One strange anomaly I had with a game that someone may be able to explain. Dirt Rally was working with only one card scaling until I applied the Helix Fix, then I got correct scaling with 2 cards, not sure why?

I've been using SLI 2-way with 980Ti's on an ROG Swift at 1440p for a couple of months now, and I've been playing Deus Ex Human Revolution and Batman Arkham City in 3D at 1440p with no issues. Seeing this thread is the first time I've heard of a problem. Is the problem you guys are talking about that the NVidia Control Panel *says* SLI is enabled but benchmarks show it's running on a single GPU? Or is it that you can't get the control panel to enable SLI at all? If it's the former, i.e., an "invisible" problem, then I can't swear I don't have it, maybe a single 980Ti is enough to get good performance, but Control Panel shows SLI is enabled and I get 1440p resolution and good framerate with no graphic issues.
BTW, I'm assuming when fraps reports 60fps in 3D, that that is actually 120fps divided by 2 because the 3D requires two separate images. Is this correct? If it's not, then for some reason I'm limited to 60fps in 3d at 1440p. Still looks great though.
The only real bug I'm experiencing is that every time I reboot the display type in Control Panel resets to 3D Vision Discover, and the glasses and emitter won't activate in that mode. I have to go into Control Panel and reset the display type to "Asus 120Hz 3D LCD" after every reboot to get it to work properly.

Of course you're not experiencing the 'only one card being used in 3D+SLI' issue....you're using 780Ti SLI. This problem is only being experienced by users of 900 series onwards so I don't know what you're complaining about lol. That's nothing compared to the issue we're facing here....

I`ve made a list of tested games which works well in SLI - but don`t remember where. GTAV, Max Payne 3 works great for example.

Thanks ManuelG, Do you happen to have an ETA for when you may get this ETA :D

Exactly!
