I'm confused. Pleas help.
I have this setup:

My pc has 2 gtx 580 and has to displays connected:

First display is an HP Zr30W connected using DVI and used as my main monitor.
Second display is a SAMSUNG UE55D8000 FullHD 3D Tv.

I wanted to try to play battlefield 3 in 3d on the 3d tv...

I installed the 3dtv play trial.
The problem is that all games start on the first monitor.
On some games I can drag the window on the second monitor but anyhow 3dvision is off and 3d is off.

What should I do?

You need to set the TV as the primary display in nvidia control panel.
It's irritating because it'll mess up your desktop icons.

This one isn't a 3D vision issue, or even an NVidia one, games can technically offer you the choice, but the vast majority just select the primary video card and primary monitor.

I also have another problem, extending the desktop, the image on the TV looks OVERSCAN.

I'm banging my head to understand how to have a full 1920x1080 image on the TV.

I connected the tv using the included DVI to HDMI cable that came with my EVGA GTX 580.

Any ideas?

@ ERP: yep but that's an awful solution. Nvidia shopuld implement the feature on the driver side.

In the same way the profiles kick in when running a certain game, there should be possible to say "run this program on the secondary monitor".

It's pretty easy on the driver side.
I wonder why they don't do that!
A bunch of people would choose nvidia only for that simple feature.

I know there are utilities around but they just make a switch (primary<>secondary) on the fly.

And yes, that messes up the icon positions and window sizes.
And yes, again, I know there is a utility named DesktopOK which can save and restore icon positions.

The way that directX works is that the game enumerates the devices and the displays and makes the decision.
I doubt a driver that lied or forced a particular adapter/display combination would pass WHQL.

On the TV thing, it depends on the TV some have PC modes that prevent the overscan.

Hmm nevermind.. I found a setting of the TV that eliminates overscan completely.

Anyhow I sincerely hope NVIDIA will include the "run on secondary monitor" FLAG in nvidia control panel profiles.
That would be a killer feature!
