Deus Ex Human Revolution (Directors Cut) - no 3D?
  1 / 9
Hi, Anyone had any luck getting 3D Vision working with Deus Ex Human Revolution - Directors Cut. I'm getting no 3D at all. The game has an in-game stereo 3D setting, tried with that on and off, also tried turning DX11 on and off in the launcher. I notice the game has an AMD splash logo, so I'm guessing the stereo 3D it supports isn't 3D Vision, but I still expected to get some separation. Btw if there's already been a thread about this game before, sorry, but the forum search is completely useless (can't search by subforum). Btw I also own the non-directors cut version if that works. Thanks.

Hi, I'm currently playing through "DeusEx Human Revolution Directors Cut" in surround 3D mode with nVidia 3D Vision 2 glasses and three Asus VG278HR screens. I must say this game have one of the best support of stereoscopy. I'm playing on single GTX 780, had no problems setting it up, everything on max settings if I recall correctly, I could tell you which exactly settings do I use a bit later. But in general it works, and it's beautiful.

Thanks. Odd that I'm not getting any 3D. Do you have the in-game stereoscopic 3D setting turned on, and are you using DX11? I guess I can try new nvidia drivers.

Hi If I remember correctly, I had to turn off 3D activating automatically in the 3D vision control panel, thus allowing the game's renderer to control the 3D. All the best!

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

I have 3D within the game myself. By default I don't have it set to turn on 3d by default. 3D is still low outside of the HUD for me. :( to change the defaulton you have to do a registry change (Just in case you aren't familiar) for Windows 7 64 bit it's HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Wow6432Note/NVIDIA Corporation/Global/Stereo3D and the Key is StereoDefaultOn Set it to 0 for Off. After doing that you will have to manually turn on 3D for most games. For Deus EX toggling it on in the settings accomplishes that.

To get the 3D fully working, you have to download that slider program from Flugan that unlocks the 3D sliders. Then use one of the old project flugans and place it in the directory. You will get an error box when you start the game. Just close it out and the game will still start. Now you'll be able to change 3D depth and convergeance by using the hotkeys.

Deys ex registry tweajer. Handles both Director's Cut and standard game. http://1drv.ms/1fbZdBn It only changes depth and convergence if you've managed to get the game running in 3D in the first place. Refresh rate might affect ability to run 3D and it has to be enabmled in nvidia control panel. Make sure to do ctrl-t to activate if it did not activate at first try. The second file is my attempt to have zero convergence while ironsight. To use it you need to locate the 5 memory adresses that store convergence thus currently not user friendly.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?

Thanks guys. I think 3D was working, stuff like the interface was at a different depth from the 3D world, just there was very low depth for the actual environments. With that DXHR 3D Settings tweaker (and I also did that nvidia default-on registry tweak) I was able to get something looking vaguely decent, but even with the depth slider at full, there still only seems to be about half the amount of depth I'm used to (I usually have the nvidia setting at 100%). I tried varying the screen size and didn't see any difference (actually it doesn't seem to be updating when I hit apply). The other thing I noticed was shadows and some of the lighting effects were at the wrong depth. TBH the game doesn't look that great in 3D right now. Since the directors cut is quite new, I'm gonna try updating my drivers.

need to place flugan dx11 .dll in game folder in order to change depth and convergence with hotkeys for correct 3D effects.

Hmmm... I got the flugen beta5 download, dropped the D3D11.dll into- E:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Deus Ex Human Revolution Director's Cut but I don't see any difference. Shadows are still at the wrong depth and total depth seems low. I also notice as soon as I hit any of the 3d vision keys for depth/convergence the game switches back to almost zero depth (only the HUD looks 3D, the actual environment is completely flat).

No, that beta5 download is for Flugan's DX11 wrapper, it doesn't work on DXHR. You want to use his link from four posts up for the Deus Ex fix.

Do you mean the DXHR 3D Settings.exe ? I already have that in my DXHR:DC folder, and yes it gives me a lot more depth (without it there's almost none), but it still doesn't feel like a lot of depth, and there's definitely some 3D effect at the wrong depth, can't tell whether it's shadows or reflections or something. My save is stood in the foyer after the surgery cut scene (i.e. after the tutorial), and that scene looks nasty in 3D. Around the big pillars on the floor there's effects at the wrong depth. Same with the sofa just in front of where you start.

I don't know if the new betas work but the first one before the beta names work. Turn up the settings with the DXHR 3D settings.exe. Then drop the dx 11 wrapper into the game directory (it allows you to use the hotkeys and the maximum and minimum settings set by the DXHR 3D settings.exe). I would just make a video or just send you the files but my laptop is in the RMA process and I'm stuck with a windows 8 desktop :( When I get the laptop back and if you are still wanting this at that time, then I'll send it over. You are still gonna have to use the effects fixers along with this to fix the shadows and what not.
