I add myself to this interlaced issue /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />.
It doesn't really bother me, but I don't have a crystal clear image when I'm in 3D. It gives the feeling to play on an old tv screen

Well it does bother me. . . a lot! >.<

Guys - Realy any one got this solved or talked to Nvidia support about this ?

the problem is also that because of the lines and the grain the game colors looks bad and all of the screen looks much more darker then it should be..

According to this thread, it's interesting to see that there are two kind of monitors, the ones with crisp clear defect free images and the ones with interlaced quality ones. I think the owners should take a poll on this issue (yep, it's long weekend and I don't have to go anywhere...plenty of time to browse the net and take interest in things like why the cow's teeth are soooo white /haha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':haha:' />)

Its not Screen related.
it looks like a problem with the 3D vision drivers.
The lines appear only when the IR Emitter is plunged in - they appear also when you don't use the S3D(regular 3d no glasses)

if i plug the IR Emitter out so the drivers wont load the lines are not there any more

I'm bumping this thread since there have been multiple driver releases and the issue has not been corrected or addressed as far as I know.

Has anyone had any luck with this one?

Andrew, do you have any comment on this?

I know you said it may be my monitor but the issue only happens when I have 3D drivers installed and only when a game goes into full-screen mode, which makes me think it's a driver issue. I can play WoW in windowed mode (2D) and the horizontal line problem is not there, but it comes back when I return to full screen mode.

Looks like other people have the same issue.

This thread seems to have been left alone for a while so are there any other/new users that are experiencing the horizontal line issue with their setup?

3D and 2D mode are different in the GPU, driver, and LCD so its hard to pinpoint the problem. I recommend getting a replacement, since you are still under warranty, if you are not happy with the quality.

Do you recommend a replacement of my 295GTX or the 2233RZ? Also please note that this issue disappears when I don't have the 3D driver installed. If it's just the standard GPU driver installed, I can run games in full screen mode with no issue.

Okie Dokie.

Do I RMA directly to Nvidia since I bought the bundle or should I call Samsung?

If I do need to RMA through Nvidia,
1. What telephone number should I call for RMA?
2. How long does the process usually take (just an approximation)?
3. Do I need to ship it in first or will they cross ship me a new unit?

Oh and thank you for the quick replies! It's much appreciated.

I got the lines also in 2D mode, even in desktop in Win7 x64 RC 7100 only, in Vista was ok. But it was solved (in win7) with the new set 186.18. Maybe is only a coincidence, though.

One thing I want to point out for those of us still having this issue:

You can get rid of the lines when playing in 2D mode, but you MUST disable the 3D driver in the NVidia control panel. Simply hitting the button on the IR-Emitter IS NOT ENOUGH.

You must go into the actual control panel and un-check the box that says "Enable Stereoscopic 3D".

----------

At some point in the future when I'm not as lazy, I'll probably buy another 3D LDC monitor and see if this is a hardware issue with the monitor. As it stands now, I have learned to live with two choices:

1. Playing in 2D-mode with a crisp display
2. Playing in 3D-mode with these "interlaced lines" just for fun, every once in awhile

As you can guess, I *usually* play World of Warcraft in 2D mode -- it is just easier. I'd love to play in 3D most of the time, but I feel that a few limitations have kept me away.

Limitations:

1. NVidia drivers keep changing and it seems like they are still working out bugs -- it gets annoying dealing with new drivers this frequently
2. The horizontal-line (interlaced look and feel) is COMPLETELY STUPID AND I'M STILL PISSED AFTER THREE MONTHS OF DEALING WITH IT. Like I said, when I have more free time (not as "lazy") someday I'll try to swap out monitors and see if the 2233 RZ is the root of the problem.
3. WoW's 2D elements still need a bit of work to smoothly work in 3D mode. I've seen improvement over the last three months, but am noticing some newer weird bugs like a screen-stretch issue that just cropped up recently. Oh well, one of these days maybe WoW will look better in 3D than 2D.

All in all I regret buying this 3D Vision product so early in its lifecycle. The reality of the situation has been incredibly disappointing considering this "interlaced effect" or "horizontal line effect". Maybe some us just got unlucky, but in general NVidia and Samsung have provided horrible support on this bundle. Horrible support.

I actually called Samsung early in this process and attempted to do an RMA. No luck. They required that I send them the monitor and wait (without a monitor) for WEEKS while they "evaluated it". Bullcrap. Most companies allow me to supply a credit card and exchange items by mail in a "we send to you and then you send back to us" system (with a credit card as collateral.) Not so with this bundle.

NVidia support is equally lackluster. Andrew sometimes replies to threads, but his advice usually amounts to a "reboot and hold your breath" answer.

Whatever. We are early adopters and overpaid and just have to deal with whatever we got. In general, the 3D has been fun -- but disappointing. Not quite the "magic bullet" a lot of us were hoping for.

The horizontal line issue is really stupid though. I can't believe it isn't simply ACKNOWLEDGED. I am almost positive it affects most of us who bought the bundle -- whether we are savvy enough to realize it or not.

Hi

I'm sorry you do not appreciate my assistance in these forums. I always try to help as best as I can and try as hard as I can to give you definite answers.

You have some issues here and I will comment on what I can.
- RMA: if you are having trouble with RMA, PM me your email address and I can look into it with the support team
- Horizontal lines. This issue truly does sound like a monitor issue, that can be addressed with an RMA.
- World of Warcraft UI issues. There is a thread here that I had referred the user to two different ideas.
