Hi all.
I have bad performance running games + 3d vision enabled. Is thare something i am missing? tryed almost every game in last 2 months since i bouth 3D vision kit and 3d monitor monitor.
I will try to explain. Games that i can play on ultra setings on single GTX570 (3d vision disabled)i can't play on ultra with 2 x gtx570 (sli) + 3d vision enabled, evan if 3d vision should drop performance for 30-40%.
I tested my pc with almost every banchmark and it runs excelent with singe and dual graphic card.
Hare is some game settings examples on wich pc can run game smooth with 3d vision enabled.
Hard Reset: medium setting
Battlefield bad company 2: medium settings (3d rady gam, 2 years old)
Metro 2033: normal settings
....
I play on single monitor resolution: 1920 x 1080
games are not playable on higher settings.
My PC:
Intel Core i7 2600k - clocked 4.6ghz
Asus Sabertooth p67
8GB Kingston HyperX 1600mhz
2 x WD Black sata3(64mb) in raid 0;
2 x Asus GTX 570 DCII (SLI enabled);
Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (clean install)
All latest drivers including Nvidia 285.62

2: 3D vision enabled in nvidia control panel, but not using in game - OFF:
Resolution 1920x1080, DX11, vary hight
Avarge FPS: 38
Maximum FPS: 66.14
Minimum FPS: 11.22
3: 3D vision enabled in nvidia control panel, enabled in game - ON:
Resolution 1920x1080, DX11, vary hight
Avarge FPS: 25
Maximum FPS: 68.23
Minimum FPS: 7.84
This results are showing that stereoscopic suport enabled in nvidia control panel drops metro 2033 frame rate evan if i am not using it.
Is this normal that 3d vision drop performance for 50% sometimes evan more?
I will post more resoults as soon as i funish benchmarking.
Your results in Hawx 2 look consistent with what you'd expect from 3d vision - i.e. framerate has halved.
Metro is an absolute pig to run at that sort of resolution and you'll struggle whatever you do, so it might be better to use a different game as an example?
It's known, but perhaps not widely documented, that enabling 3d vision in the control does hit performance, regardless or whether it's on or off in the game. I think it might just be that it forces vsync, but don't really know.
