Asus VG236 LCD Monitor - just received NO GHOST ! - maybe the best choice !
1 / 3
Today, after one year of use of my old Zalman Trimon wich anyway I consider to be a good monitor for playing 3D, I have received my new Asus VG236 with the nVidia 3D Vision bundle and... it really shines !!
After testing it with some games (Tomb Raider Underworld, Prince of Persia 2008, L4D, L4D2, Half life 2 and others), the most important thing you have to know is that THERE IS NO VISIBLE GHOST AT ALL.
So, if the main problem which afflicts the LCD PC Monitors with 3D Vision is the ghosting, with this monitor it is not a problem anymore.
Hope this help someone in taking the right choice !

Ya those are mostly dark games, try some games with light on dark like AC1, AC2, or anything with lots of skyline, Fallout 3, Borderlands, etc. and I think you will see ghosting is still there.

Yep, I've got one, too, and there's ghosting. Borderlands is a real good one for seeing it. Get out in the open air and arrange for a telephone pole to stick up near the top of your monitor.
But... it might not be as bad as others. It would be nice to see an A-League (Asus, Acer, and Alienware) side-by-side review.

When both Nivia 3D Vision and Monitor are setted at 100 Hertz I confirm that there is virtually NO GHOST.
Checked with Vancouver 2010 (where there are bright snow backgrounds), Metro 2033, Fifa online, Bioshock 2, Prince of Persia forgotten sands and other: NO GHOST
Instead, when setted at other frequencies (110, 120) the ghost is visible.

I have read the same 100Hz experience with Acer monitors. Have not tried it on my own yet.

So this ghosting with white on dark and viceversa doesnt happen at all with projectors?
There has been some talking going on about this but i am not sure.
I guess if there is no ghosting it's only with the 700+ euro projectors
