Perfectly put, Bo3b, as always!
And I feel there is another key aspect helping self-govern our little corner of internet here: pragmatism/practicality/common sense.
We all love 3D, and we all discovered all too soon that this little handful of shaderhackers, coders, testers, contributors here are the only chance for us to continue enjoying our primary pastime. (with some help from Nvidia since the driver still works).
So we come here to:
1. Let's admit it - primarily to get the fixes for our games
2. To get assistance on how to run/install the fixes for our games
3. To give verbal and/or financial encouragement - to ensure we keep getting fixes for our games
4. To learn new things or share the things we know about 3D tech, how to run/install fixes for our games, etc.
I think basically this list covers it conceptually. The first two points deal with pragmatism, the last two points with the empathy mentioned by Bo3b (the lack of which really is the bane of sanity on the net)
If any of you come here for other things, for drama, to vent frustration in a toxic way, to throw vitriol on sensitive subjects, etc. Please go do it elsewhere.
But I trust that our little comumnity will always self-govern and auto-regulate somehow, like it always did. Sometimes I imagine that we are like a small Danish/Norse village by the sea (like in Babette's Feast) where everyone knows what everyone else is doing, what things they like, and what they're working on, and our houses are all within hearing distance from one another.
Anybody showing toxic behaviour, just for the sake of disruption, not out of a personal unavoidable need, is easily called out, then cast away from the village.
Please people, tone down the drama, care less about "getting personal points" and "I'm better than you" or "I certainly told him/her". Care more about sharing the 3D passion, enjoying the fruit of the coder's labour (which they give us for free, for God's sake!), and show empathy to your fellow 3D lover.
Did not mean to make a long post. Sorry.
edit: After my post, I've seen the exchange between DSS and DJ-RK in the "3Dmigoto now open-source" thread. If that does not restore our faith in our community (and to some extent, in internet etiquette and collaboration) I don's see what will.

I sincerely wish that all the toxic BS will stop now, it used to be the very best forum on the web.
We are humans, and all humans makes mistakes, but it's also very human to be able to forgive !
We actually are capable of showing some empathy in here, I would say much more than most other forums !

Let's all move on - together, and hopefully restore this place to it's former glory !
Edit: Zappologist@ I love your little imagination, I live in a small Danish village with 8 houses, and you describe it quite well :)

Both fixes have the same files! but with different names...98% of the game is fixed with ShaderRegex, so this is some kind of "universal fix" for void engine....i don't know if more games will use Void engine in the future, hope so....i like how looks.
