All well and good, except when the laser cursor is enabled there is a huge framerate drop. For example, staring at a wall in HL2 e1 gives me 16 fps (!). Turning off the laser cursor jumps this up to 100+.
I did find one post somewhere regarding this, but have been unable to find it again. The post seemed to suggest it was Vista64 only. Anyone know if later drivers fix this problem? I'm a little loathe to move on as the 185.85 combo are the only ones I've found so far that include the IR emitter driver.
To be clear, I'm only setting the laser cursor on/off in nvidia control panel, I'm not doing anything is game (I don't know the keys to use). On Left4Dead and Hl2 e1 the cursor looks like the normal in game one, but it has a depth in the screen, not flat. I read somewhere there should be an nvidia cursor appear too, but that I haven't seen. So, to get the FPS back up I turn off the laser cursor in control panel, and am forced to turn off the in game cursor as it is 'flat' and appears as two cursors on screen. I hope all that makes sense.
The only other possible issue I've found is that the 185.85 drivers don't have a SLI games compatability list, but perhaps these have been dropped in recent drivers (My last set were about a year old)

Am running using 185.85 drivers on an XPS 1730.

Framerate drops after about 15 min. of play so that makes me think I'm overheating.
Worth a try to turn it off though.
