Have you tried a reinstall of RE5? It could also be a DX11 thing. Are you using the new Beta drivers? I am having issues with some of my DX10/11 games with them for some reason.
I am assuming you did a clean install of the video drivers.

i really don't wanna try reinstalling it unless i have to...and yes, i am using the beta drivers but they never caused problems for my 470, but i guess all cards are different

i haven't done a clean install actually, but i'll try now

EDIT: no, that didn't help at all

I'd just like to add that I upgraded from a 260 to a 570 and I'm also getting performance thats not better than with my 260, but only in DX10 mode. DX9 is fine. So you're not alone

Also, every time i start the game (or if i change video options or something else under system settings and return to menu), i have to sit through an excruciatingly slow loading time, with a black screen and a really slow progress bar on the bottom right corner of the screen. But this one only happens in DX9 mode...

that loading bar is normal. its supposed to be there for DX9. you can get rid of it by creating a config file, but i forgot how.
