Nobody is suggesting that. But shouting at people, throwing virtual spoiled eggs at them and calling them liars when they were just communicating what they knew as best as they could, won't get us anywhere.

This just tells us what kind of person you are in fact.

Look at his history, it's just pages of him defending nvidia without contributing or asking any questions. Coupled with the horrible drivers and terrible game support, this is beyond shameful. You can be sure my next cards will be from AMD.

So your suggesting we just take it up the arse after bieng lied to and tell them how great everything is?

I think taking ANYthing up the arse for a prostate massage would be more pleasurable than playing Witcher2 in 3D vision with the 1.3 patch in it's state with the broken shadows.. lol.
Sad that you had to sell the game or refund it - but i understand it from the perspective of principle .. hope you at least completed it.

You know I wouldn't buy this game. I didn't like Witcher 1. But that's my personal preference. The only thing I can go by is Solutiongaming website. Yes it has the NVidia 3D logo. It looks fine to me.

http://www.solutiongaming.co.uk/az_articles_v4/witcher2/witcher2.html

I just don't get why this game is so freaking important to you guys. I would understand if someone got pissed off for OpenGl games like the upcoming Rage not working but Witcher 2. Are you for real. Really????? Are we all collectively loosing our minds. Seriously??? Witcher freaking 2. Really. Let's all take deep breath and wake up from this delirium.
Alex1g, Witcher 2 is important because it's one of the few games made by developers with passion - the result is something that excels in it's artistry and design - which has been rare in action/rpg genre of late. And its graphics and attention to detail are truly a showcase; in 2D it is already mind blowing and it is very sad when it's 3D implementation is nerfed so badly when it was already working fine (albeit with degraded performance) in earlier versions.

Anyhow, the 16:10 support + improved frame rates are at least small consolations to continue with act 3 in 2D with the 1.3 patch after having shelved the game for some weeks - in hopes it will be all fixed when and if i replay the game for the varied outcomes/endings.

This thread is truly embarrassing to read. I sincerely hope you acknowledge that this is not adult behavior, and that by tossing words around in this nature collectively, you will gain you no ground. If you honestly have qualms with the developers, contact them in a respectful manor. Highlight the various issues in detail. Send both system information, as well as examples of where your expectations fell short. If the contents are resourceful, "they" will attempt to correct the issue. Understand however, that NVIDIA and CDProjekt Red are of no affiliation, and that complaints should be constructed accurately, and appropriately for each party.

If you do decide to proceed with contacting any organization to aid you in this so called "wrong doing," I certainly hope you have lawyers who speak far more eloquently. Otherwise you may find the results unfavorable.

Many of us are Nvidia 3d Vision fans and enjoy their product (even though it rarely works),
That is a lie. It works quite well on tons of games.
...but 3D Vision does not work as described by Nvidia when playing the Witcher 2.
NVIDIA has not described how it works since the 1.3 patch came out and they have never given a detailed description. From what I read on here, the only big issue it had before that patch was that it slowed down badly when indoors. That fits fairly well with their 'Excellent' rating. I would have put it at 'good', myself, given that you couldn't just toggle off 3D to get around that problem but it's hardly worth going to the BBB over.
...For more than two months Nvidia has claimed that 3d Vision is working properly when using the Witcher 2...
Errr, huh? It was working to specification. It's not NVIDIA's fault that CDPR wasn't using it right.
...and failed to remedy the problem.
They did what they could but there's only so much they can do. I suppose they could do a lot more to fix Witcher 2 if they were willing to break other applications that are using the system correctly but nobody wants that.
...Nvidia also has failed to update us regarding a fix.
They mentioned in their last driver update what the source of the problem is. Any further updates should come from CDPR.
...As ALL of us here on the forum have stated, it is completely broken.
No, the shadows are broken - like they are for quite a few games. Unlike those games, this one does not appear to have the option to turn the shadows off. That is not something NVIDIA can do anything about.
...Many of us bought Nvidia's 3D vision product to use with this game.
This game AMONG OTHERS. Several others, I would wager. The thought of buying a full 3D setup to play just one single player game is laughable.
...Nvidia has failed to deliver on their promise that the Witcher 2 is a 3d ready game.
What promise there is, yeah, I'll agree with that. It seems pretty obvious to me that CDPR is more at fault than NVIDIA but that doesn't change the fact that NVIDIA stuck their name on there. Why would they put their stamp of approval on something that can so easily change?

Note that they HAVE removed the 3D Vision Ready rating for the game but there's no way to go out and erase it from all the boxes out there.
...There are countless problems which are detailed in various threads on this page (shadow issues in 3D, performance and framerate issues when using 3dVision, and other problems referenced in the Sticky at the top of this forum).
Eh? The shadow issues and performance issues are mutually exclusive, aren't they? Oh, and I think most of us could easily count the issues. A number is not "countless" just because you are too lazy to count them.
If you would also like to submit a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about Nvidia's false advertising, lack of response to the community, and product issues ... their company info and like to the BBB complaint page is below -
I will further point out that, when making such a complaint, it would be a very good idea to be FACTUAL. If you start lying about how things are working to try and make your point, that would be slander. It's a crime. It isn't likely that NVIDIA would prosecute but they certainly could.

Fact. The witcher 2 is said to be 3d ready. The game is far from 3d ready. Period. There are pages and pages of customers here who also agree that there are too many issues with 3d vision to even use the product with the Witcher 2. Period.

You even said yourself that they have removed the 3d vision rating. Doubt that nvidia wants a public perception of 3d vision to be one where they state something as ready, and then back peddle from that same statement. It is misleading. Fact - this is perceived by consumers as false advertising

Fact. The issues with 3d vision in the witcher 2 have been continuously described on these forums by many of us (don't worry my sensitive friend, I won't use countless - which, by the way, was used for emphasis. I'm sure you can grasp that) In pages and pages of descriptions of the problem. See sticky at top of page.

Fact. For WEEKS this community got no response after pages of complaints describing the issues. Nvidia has exemplified poor customer service by leaving us in the dark after stating a game is 3d ready. Re read that last sentence again.

Fact. We have a right to file a complaint and report them to the BBB. You are pushing this thread I started off topic. Dont waste time arguing anything else in this thread. This is a place for those of us who are frustrated by nvidias stating a product is 3d ready when it isn't and then changing the description after the fact to file a complaint. This is a place for those of us who feel nvidia showed poor customer service by ignoring us to make a complaint with the BBB. I'm sure you understand the phrase "stay on topic".

We now understand that you, with reasons stated above, disagree with our complaints and issues with Nvidia. You are entitled to your opinion in the same way we are. Thank you for your input but from this point on do not derail this thread any further with continuous intent to hijack the topic. Your perspective is clear. While most of us think you are coming from a flawed viewpoint which Is turning a blind eye to blatant misrepresentation by nvidia, we respect your opinion. If you feel that nvidia is acting in a professional manner I encourage you to start your own thread something like, "Witcher 2 is great in 3d vision and was 3d ready. Endorse here if you agree." It would be enlightening to see how short your support list would be.

Thanks for stopping by. Your viewpoint has been made clear. As recommended, start your own witcher 2 specific support thread and let us see where it goes. Move on and all the best to you.

Rather more a propositional fallacy known as affirming the consequent — if A then B; B, therefore A.

Fact A (backpeddling) has not been established into evidence. There are myriad reasons to pull an endorsement, not the least of which is pulling support from the product because it fails to live up to the conditions of the endorsement. Regardless, no reason has been established, but merely inferred through the lens that focuses your complaint.

Fact A (backpeddling) has not been established into evidence. There are myriad reasons to pull an endorsement, not the least of which is pulling support from the product because it fails to live up to the conditions of the endorsement. Regardless, no reason has been established, but merely inferred through the lens that focuses your complaint.

...Fact.

Re read that last sentence again...

As you yourself should do with my opening statement. This is but another example of affirming the consequent.

...Fact.

This violates so many of the basic tenets of rational discusssion in an open, public forum that I thought a visual aid to be appropriate. I think you'll find you've already walked most of its ladder, so now I'm wondering where we're to go now that we're already lower'n whale dung...

"you will gain you no ground"
"Understand however, that NVIDIA and CDProjekt Red are of no affiliation, and that complaints should be constructed accurately, and appropriately for each party." - poor comma usage.

All of this is pretty humorous coming from a guy who condemns other people's communication style. Clue - this is a casual forum and not a place where you practice drafting legal documents. You could use some practice though. lol, too funny

My statement hardly falls under your attempted example of affirming the consequent. There are probably alternative methods to better demonstrate your need to attempt elaborate English instruction.

To help you understand. Had I said, " Since 3d Vision is broken, then Nvidia is a bad company. Nvidia is a bad company. Therefore, 3D Vision is broken," your attempted point would make sense. We are simply saying, Nvidia's 3d vision was advertised to work a certain way. Many of us here in the forums feel that we are let down, that we have been misled as to the "readiness" of the product, and we want to make a complaint. Period. As evident in these forums many of us feel this way. It sure seems like the majority of us do. We would like a product which is "ready" to be, well....ready. Since you felt the need to inflate your ego and provide me with an argumentation link...I will recommend you look up False Advertising and Truth in Labeling. Do you naturally feel so small in life that you needed to turn this into an English nitpicking session? Dude, we're just making complaints here and I'm sorry if every sentence is not perfectly thought out to your high standards. My friend, you are obviously the better man : )

Let's move on ....

I encourage you to consider the following. Feel free to answer directly.

1 - Look on these forums at the timeframe it took Nvidia to respond to multiple complaints about 3D vision not working in the Witcher 2 and discover the few week long timeframe where Nvidia left us in the dark. Please state your findings here. How long was the timeframe? 8 weeks? Is this acceptable to you? If so, then....

2 - ... as I advised, start your own Forum thread with your support for 3d Vision working well with the Witcher 2. Please do so. I am curious how far it will go.

3 - Read through the multiple pages of consumers here who have started posts explaining how 3d Vision is broken in the Witcher 2. Does that offend you? Are all of them making this up? Is the lack of response for multiple weeks from Nvidia your version of Good Customer Service?

4 - 30+ pages of customers complaining, in detail, about 3D issues with the Witcher 2 are probably indicative of an ongoing problem. Wouldn't you say so?

@ Righthooks. You are correct, there is nothing else for you to add. When you critique other people's communication style by displaying your own poor writing abilities . . . you did the job for me. My comment was simply a quite humorous observation. I'm sorry if that upset you. It was just a funny thing to see.

As Liam Neeson says in the movie Taken...."Now's not the time for dic% measuring." lol. From this point on let's use this thread as intended. A reference as to where you may file a complaint with the BBB.

I have seen a lot of games that are branded as 3D Vision Ready, that in fact are not. Not sure what criteria they use to qualify them but most of the time it seems like they just slap the label on the box and call it a day. It's kind of like the Nintendo Seal of Quality on old NES games. Just cause you see that shiny gold star does not make the contents good.

Does the lack of support from Nvidia and the general half assed nature of this product deserve a call to the BBB? That's up to you, as a consumer, to decide. After all, that's why the BBB was created. To stop unfair and unethical business practices. False advertising falls under those descriptions as far as I can remember. So if you want to file a complaint, then that's your right.

But all this other arguing nonsense has to stop. It's not helping anyone.

This isn't a very good analogy though because the 3D Vision Ready logo is based on strict criteria and not opinion. The 3D Vision Ready logo is supposed to mean a game will work 100% flawlessly in 3D with no visual anomalies whatsoever. There's nothing subjective about that and opinion never comes into play. A game either works perfectly in 3D or it doesn't. If it's advertised as 3D Vision Ready and is not, in fact, 3D Vision Ready, than that is false advertisement folks. And that is very illegal.

In Nintendo's case, the Seal of Quality was based on opinion (Nintendo's review process), and you never saw people sue Nintendo for false advertisement of a bad SoQ game because everyone's opinion differs. With the 3D Vision Ready logo, these are clear cases of criteria not being met and customers being screwed out of their money based on lies. It's straight up false advertisement at the hands of both CD Projekt for using the logo on their box and Nvidia for allowing them to do it (the unpatched 1.0 gold release at retail should have been 3D Vision Ready, no matter the scapegoat given by Nvidia's approval process). They are both equally responsible.

Where did you get the information that the 3DVision being printed on the retail box means 100% flawless operation? That is a fantasy; seldom is there software that works without any detectable issues. To my knowledge the logo being attached to the software simply means that the technology is supported through the software. Now, it may go as far as being endorsed by NVIDIA, but that does not mean flawless. You have countless systems, configurations, and software preferences that go into account. Troubleshooting, dissecting, and resolving the reported issues simultaneously is next to impossible. In short, the 3DVision logo printed on retail products simply means it utilizes the technology at launch, it does not mean 100% flawless operation. In a perfect world it might, but this is not a perfect world.

What you have said above is...gasp...very accurate. I completely agree.

Still, my point is not that I expect 100% flawless operation...is is that the gameplay is extremely poor. I doubt Nvidia would like the world to see a live gameplay sample of the witcher 2, WITH A 3D Ready sticker on the box, playing in its current unacceptable form. It is far beyond acceptable for what is "3d ready". Furthermore, Nvidia's response time here is not even close to good customer service.
