Since a few updates (i'm talking about nvidia updates but keep in mind TF2 is updating almost every day), I can no more play Team Fortress 2 (TF2) in 2D on my 120Hz full hd screen in windowed mode.
Well the game is working, but the screen is shaking horribly, it's like on eye is displayed, then the other, ... Problem is: I'm in 2D, and 3D Vision is not activated.
When 3D Vision is activated, 3D is working fine, fps are good, no shaking.
This is the launch options i'm using for TF2 : -console -novid -refresh 120 -sw -noborder
-sw sets windowed mode
-noborder removes the borders
-refresh 120 forces a specific refresh rate
[-novid removes the startup video of the valve-in-head man]
[-console ... you guessed it!]
I'm currently using the latest nvidia BETA drivers (285.79).
Is nvidia aware of this issue?
Is the issue mainly caused by nvidia or valve?
Workaround is to use fullscreen mode, or maybe use an older driver (not sure though).
Windowed mode without border is really enjoyable since windows vista because it allows a fast alt+tab, without a significant perf. impact.
And that is pretty convenient to configure a background app. such as mumble (ex: change channel), or whatever program you'd like to use without quitting the game...
