EDID for Viewsonic Projector PJD6531w
Would someone please post the EDID inf file for the Viewsonic projector model PJD6531w? I had 3D Vision working perfectly months ago, however the EDID has since become corrupt and now forces all 3D content at 800 vertical lines which NVIDIA won't allow. I've done many Google searches, but surprisingly could not locate the EDID for this offically sanctioned 3D Vision projector. Thank you so much!

Make your own Download monitor asset manager (moninfo) from EnTech Taiwan, it's free. Find the corresponding "real time" entry for the projector. Click "file" > "create inf" and then name the file to your manufacturer and model number. Viewsonic PJD6531W

There could be another solution also. My Benq also forces 800P@120hz even if I set ingame resolution to 720p. The reason is that the Active pixels on automatic values for the 1280x720 @120Hz resolution are (H)1280 and (V)800 (which is wrong). What I did was create a custom resolution on 720P@120hz and I set manually the correct values.

I now have my 3D blu-rays displaying back at the correct 720p. I'm grinning like a big kid again at being reminded of how stunning 3D through a projector on a 92" high gain screen can be. My modest home theater setup rivals Real D and is better than the Digital 3D showing at my local Regal Cinemas IMO. Thanks to all for taking time to help me!

Well... that lasted a week. I performed the recommended actions and at the time thought I had successfully created an EDID that would function with my projector and 3D Vision. Even though I was getting .mkv sbs 3D videos to correctly display at 720p, whenever I would play a Blu-ray 3d dvd or a video game, the projector would switch from 720p to 640x800. This still provides 3D, although at an incorrect aspect ratio and causes small details to become illegible. Now even .mkv files are causing the unwanted switch to 640x800 (I can't see this resolution anywhere in CRU or AW EDID Editor). Would someone be able to tell me why my projector is changing the resolution to 640x800 for 3D, and if possible please provide the EDID for the PJD6531w? A workaround is proving difficult. Thanks for your patience with me on this.

640x800 isn't a standard resolution, did you mean 640x480?. If it's indeed 640x800, the only thing I can think of is that it's displaying an interlaced format. 640x800 doubled is 1280x800. You could try one of the EDIDs from a HDMI 1.3 display in the 3D Vision Blog forum.

Thanks D-Man. It displays games and movies in 3D under the interlaced resolution of 640x800. That explains the shoddy jagged illegible text, I just can't understand why it switches to interleaved and 800 vertical lines when the resolution within Windows 7, NVidia's control panel and the in-game options all show 1280x720. When I lower the in game resolution to 1024x768, I get perfect 3D without the interleaved/jagged lines. The projector is set for NVidia's 3D, not the DLP link variety. I did find and remove a hidden 1280x800 resolution using Powerstrip, but I'm still getting the forced interleaved 3D, only now it displays at 640x720. I did find an EDID for another Viewsonic model on the 3D Vision Blog, but it didn't fix the issue. Starting to Fantasize about a steamroller going over this projector.

It appears that the catalyst to the unwanted interleaved display is switching to 120hz refresh rate while at 1280x720. Does anyone know how to prevent the projector from going interleaved at the higher refresh rate?

Try setting your desktop to 1280x720@60Hz and see if that works. The other Viewsonic EDID you tried was propably HDMI 1.4 not HDMI 1.3

I used to have the same projector and it's a native 16:10 which means that it's 1200x800 resolution. I'll try and find the EDID from the driver disk as I probably have a copy somewhere. If you have later version you can choose between 16:10 and 16:9 in the settings, although it doesn't sound like it will help you much in this case. I never had to use any custom EDID to get 3d vision working, I used one specifically to get it working in 3d vision at 1280x800x120Hz, which is possible. Ragedaemon has/had the same projector as well. PM me and I'll send you the INF files that I have, not sure if they are original or modded though, it was a while ago.

A big thanks to Rustyk for emailing me some edid files to try and fix the issue. An modded Acer edid worked for another week before reverting back to the 640x800 for 1280x720 120hz videos/games. I suspected it might be the 15 foot DVI to HDMI cable, however it works perfectly every time when connected to my 3d monitor. Seems to be an issue within the refurbished projector. I'll update if I ever find a permanent fix. Thanks to all who offered help!
