I am using HDMI input 1, with TV's Picture settings in Game mode, Just Scan Aspect Ratio, and HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Color. For cable connection, I am using Fusion4K High Speed HDMI 2.0 professional series cable. Note that lower bandwidth HDMI cables still should provide limited 3D display, with more ghosting and other dynamic artifacts. Some LG models (like my UB9500) have special higher-bandwidth input connectors, but I believe any input HDMI connector on the EF9500 can be used.
By the way, NVIDIA's 3D Test app in its Control Panel does NOT work with the EDID under Windows 10, so this independent app (from games) cannot be used to assess your 3D display. It does work correctly with the EDID under Windows 8.1.

I noticed that I can't select 60Hz in-game. It's always 59.94 Hz. But since I remember this to happen also with my 120Hz-monitor (119.XX in-game) which didn't cause any problems I guess this isn't the problem here either.
This is really getting annoying. I really don't understand that a double-image that looks just like 3D is displayed and when you put on the glasses it absolutely looks the same. So the glasses don't change anything when looking at the screen with glasses put on or glasses off.
Even turning the glasses upside down doesn't change anything . Doesn't this mean this double image is by no means a stereoscopic one!? But if this is the case then I wonder where the double-image comes from......

Maybe they forgot to put the Film Pattern retarder on your Display :P

If it says Optomized for GeForce in the NVCP, it will only put out Line Interleaved. So that would not be a problem unless your TV wasn't a Passive model.

I think the EDID is not installed correctly.
You need to see the "Optimized for GeForce" in the NVCP, lile D-Mann11 says.
With that double image and no 3D, press the "3D" button in the remote control and select the interleaved mode manually. Also check Checkerboard.

Yes, it is same model - LG 55EF9500. I have used joker18's same EDID successfully on 3 different LG models: a 55UB9500, a 65UF9500, and a 55EF9500 (using same native 3840x2160 3D interlaced signal). Unless a PC sound setup uses HDMI, a person should not really need to create a custom EDID.

Ok, first thanks alot guys for seeing this through with me!
Somehow I was expecting just that. After the whole EDID override process was done much easier than I initially thought and after everything (aside from the 3D itself) worked without any problems it was clear to me that it would be some unexptected tiny little thing that would get in the way.
After my last desperate posting I did exactly two more things before I gave it another try in-game and was successful finally (I guess one of those 2 things has absolutely nothing to do with the solution but since these two steps were the only steps I did before finally facing success I should mention them both).
1. I reduced my default 100%-depth to something like 50% (although when it didn't work before I also fiddled with depth and convergence to no avail).
2. Reading through the comments here I noticed whyme's comment about the aspect ratio that should be set to "Just Scan". I had it set to "16:9". After I changed that the 3D finally kicked in.
I can tell you 3D Vision on the 4K OLED looks absolutely awesome but I am still facing a problem and that is major ghosting. Is there anything I could do about that? I remember Conan recommended to set the TV's 3D settings to "manual" and then setting everything to "zero" but then it was said here to leave the TV's 3D settings alone and deactivated.
Is there any way to get rid of the ghosting?

How does the ghosting compare if you use 3DTV Play (first, reload driver to restore original settings)? Note that some games cannot run at 24 fps (like Lords of the Fallen and probably Doom) so, with outdated 3DTV Play, you would need to drop to 720p to test...

Do you have any option on your TV named "definition" or "sharpness"? This option needs to be at zero because it causes major ghosting.

Yeah that's what I thought for LG TV.
For my Philips TV I had to modify Joker's Edid to this brand.
Ok, I reinstalled the driver and re-enabled 3DTV Play. It turned out to show the exact type of ghosting that I noticed with the override in 4K. The ghosting appears to the left and right of a specific object. Bright objects obviously are showing more severe ghosting. I'll give you a "Doom" example:
In Doom there are lots of bright lit monitors/displays. These suffer exceptionally from the ghosting. You see the specific object (monitor) but you also see this object in transparent form to the left and to the right of the actual object. Using 3D TV Play in 720p gave me exactly the same type of ghosting.
@chtiblue: interesting find! That would have been my next question to whyme. I was just about to ask him if he fiddled with the picture settings in "game mode" (sharpness, constrast, colour....)
I will instantly give it a try with sharpness set to ZERO!
On a side note: I am almost sure now that the solution to my 3D activation problem was the aspect ratio that needed to be set to "Just Scan" instead of "16:9"! When I did the EDID override again minutes ago everything worked without any problem. Even the QR-Code rectangle (during 3D activation routine) showed the desired 3D effect. The only difference to my unsuccessful attempts yesterday was the TV's aspect ratio that I switched to "Just Scan" today!
Edit: Just gave Doom another try with sharpness set to Zero via TV-picture settings. I couldn't make out any difference, the ghosting is still there.
