SLI config in 3D? Configure 2 or more GFX cards in steroscopic vision?
I'm looking into the Nvidia Geforce 3D Vision technology, and cost is affecting my decision a bit. Though it would be a bit pricey to buy the 3D-ready monitor with the Nvidia 3D glasses kit in itself, I really don't want to spend another $350 on a new GTX 200 series GFX card.

...but I do have a couple of pretty hefty graphics cards already. A Geforce 9800 GT and a 9600, is it possible that I can SLI the two together and configure them to process the one of the two individual images of the stereoscopic image? Like having the 9800 process the images of my right eye's perspective, and have the 9600 process the images for my left eye's perspective, as if they were processing a single image on a standard monitor setup and not suffer from a severe cut in framerates if I had one card processing both images.

no and keep in mind 3d vision about halves your framerate depending on games you might want more than a 9800 gt , i had one and it did ok but even with my gtx 275 i crave more power but i suppose it depends on your resolution your running also and your processor speed

no, in order for sli to work they have to be two of the same type of cards so you would need two 9800s. But you can run your 9800 as your main and then use your 9600 as a ppu. Depending on what your gonna be playing and on what settings you may want to at least get a 200 series card.
