Ok, I'll pick this up when it is on sale at getgamesgo or green man, not paying the australia tax we tend to get slugged with on steam (lol $70US, but it's better than the brazil tax).

Just finished.
Visually it is my favorite 3D game(not actual favorite). Graphics were phenomenal. Performance was great, I had no slow downs/frame drops also no loading screens which is a good perk. AA is always a pet peeve for me. I always use nvidia inspector and am a 720P 3d gamer and in game settings make it so SMOOTH. I cant really stress how good/sharp it looks. The non-crosshair related hud looks awesome in 3D as well. If they fix the crosshair I would definitely use that as an excuse to replay it. My optimal 3d settings would make the game mind blowing. Regardless it was a great game for me, 3D added so much and made the whole game more engaging.
Crosshair was a bit of a bummer but it didnt hamper me to much though I can understand why it would be unplayable for many. I played at around 60-70% my usual depth and played higher convergence then usual so crosshair rested at edge of gun when in aiming mode. If I took my time I could nail most headshots, and it costs me some ammo in situations where enemy is far off in middle of fire fight.
My final settings were all MAXED EXCEPT, TESSELATION - OFF (I crashed once then I read it was causing lots of crashes so I turned off), POST PROCESSING - OFF (I mentioned earlier I saw some visual issues early in game and decided to turn off. From beginning to end of game only other issue was in the blood pool scene reflections were off and that lasts like 10 seconds.) DEPTH OF FIELD - OFF.
P.S In case anyone didnt notice, every time you exit it resets your AA settings.

@Eqzitara: What are your depth/convergence settings? Did you go beyond the 100% of the sliders (using regedit)? Right now I am not really satisfied with my current 110% depth/110% convergence-settings.

Lohan, might have missed this but how are people getting more depth? The convergence is low but fine since this game seems to use quite a bit of close up camera sections, but depth could do with a bit more.

absolutely right! Going even higher with the convergence (currently 110%) will definitely be a problem in those close-up scenes. So I suggest I just have to live with it.....which is no problem at all. I just want to get the convergence as high as possible in every game and I feel that I can't go as high in Tomb Raider convergence-wise as I could in games like Batman or Dead Space 2/3.
You get more depth exactly the same way as you get more convergence. Only you have to change the Hex-code for stereoscopic depth this time in the regedit. I am at the office right now and can't check the specific name of the line in the regedit. It is just two lines above the stereoscopic strength-line (convergence) You can't miss it! You can use the same hex-code as you do for convergence (check page 6 in this thread). So if you want to get 130% depth just use the hex-code for 130% convergence that is listed on page 6.......

@all High-convergence-enthusiasts: Please post your depth/convergence settings here. I would like to know if I can optimize something before I really dig in....
Currently I am at 110% depth / 110% convergence. What are your settings?
I think I know a lame solution for people with crosshair issues is to use a macro to turn off 3D when holding right mouse click.
Assign TURN ON/OFF STEREOSCOPIC 3D EFFECT TO -> . (PERIOD)
Then just use this file. http://3dvision-blog.com/wp-content/files/3dcrosshairfix.zip
Just extract alc.exe and launch it before starting game... Again its super lame and tbh crosshair is not bothering me.
Hi eqzitara, could you tell me how exactly do I use/make that macro? The 2D crosshair is bothering the hell out of me...

@lohan
Everyone has different display sizes so if you knew my settings it wouldnt make sense. I use a projector and if you use a monitor you are probably using 300% more depth then me. BUT if it helps you in gun mode(crosshair). Everything past the guns barrel is pop out. I adjusted till crosshair seems to rest on edge of gun.
@joohan
cant really explain it more then it is explained right there.

@Eqzitara
when using my projector (Optoma HD33) I normally used the depth hack for 3D Vision games because the given separation was just too small so even 100% depth on the projector seemed to be what normally is like 50% on a monitor.
In these days I play all my games on the Sony HMZ-T2 and even here I have to use the depth hack to get very nice depth.
Just one more question: Did you go beyond the slider-given 100% (using regedit) for either depth or convergence or did you adjust depth and convergence only within the slider-given range (maximum 100%)?

Im not sure what you mean but I normally use a registry depth hack. I dont exceed 100% I just reconfigure it to think that its 70inch instead of the 80something inches nvidia assigned to it.
In tomb raider there is no need, the depth/convergence allowed is high for a projector since its ment for a monitor user.
@eqzitara any reason for turning DOF off? Does it make much of a visual difference?
DOF adds a fake photographic DOF blur effect which IMHO is counter productive in S3D visuals. I WANT to clearly see things far away. Adding DOF blur is like driving in the fog.

Not to mention games like Mass Effect series. That use DOF for cinematics, like when a character is out of focus they will be blurred regardless of distance from camera. So when they have a character right infront of the camera it really messes me up. My eyes keep trying to focus on the area that shouldnt be blurred but is. I really hated how ME3 looked by doing it the way they allow you to turn DOF but it was pure torture for me to play it with it on.
Anywho, if you are wondering what I am ranting about I took some pictures and talked about it when I removed it from ME3 (helix did actual patch). http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2012/07/mass-effect-3-depth-of-field-blur.html
P.S Playing me3 new dlc right now = )
