why do 3dvision settings revert to default (disabled) with each driver?
Every time I install a new driver, it resets my 3d vision settings. I have to re-enable 3d vision, re-calibrate my glasses, and re-enter all my custom hotkeys. I also have to re-enable SLI. It's a bit annoying. Is there any way to make it remember these settings? It already remembers my custom game profile settings.

Yeah, it sucks. I think someone cobbled together some kind of fix for it, but I never tried it myself.

just export your stereo3d settings: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D\

How about a handy Batch file to fix all these whenever you reinstall? I made and shared a batch file that I drop into my startup folder, so that it gets reset at every boot. Overkill, but at least I never forget. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/544995/handy-batch-file-to-fix-3d-settings/ I just updated that batch file to auto-reset the keys used for snapshot, separation, and convergence. You can edit those default numbers to match your desired setup.

It's a minor inconvenience, and I'd rather the settings were preserved. Hardly grounds to go on an allcaps tirade though.

I'd like to bump into this thread also.. 1st big thanks bo3b for the batch! very handy !!! Next I want to ask again the f_cking question again... "Does anyone have any problem with 331.93 and SLI and 3DVision" ?? - My setup: GTX 590, 3x Samsung 2233rz Monitors, 3D Vision 1 kit Behavior: - 3D Vision OFF, Surround ON => Played Skyrim for like 5h without a crash, CTD etc - 3D Vision ON, Surround ON => Driver Kernel Crash the moment I am done loading a savegame. (Nvidia driver kernel stopped responding and successfully recovered) - 3D Vision ON, Surround OFF (But SLI enabled) => Driver Kernel Crash after about 5-10 minutes IN Skyrim. So far I have tested all the games I could find, others seem not to enter in this driver krashing loop (or at least I wasn't able to grab a crash). Games that are constantly crashing are: Skyrim and Neverwinter (which freezes and all the other possible crashes). I managed to find the modules that are crashing : - nvd3dum.dll (the kernel) - nvwgf2um.dll (3D Vision releated sync/wrapper/handler) I read all the 39 pages on the Official Driver thread and I see people having crashing in Mono GPU (ranging from 570 to 780) with/without Surround and 3D Vision So yet again the question..Anyone having the same behavior as described ? Best Regards, Helifax
Overkill, but at least I never forget.
I wonder if there's a registry setting that gets changed to something on install, wasn't Shinra talking about a 'first run' setting or something to that effect, if so you could add a reg query at the beginning of the batch so it only executes the rest if that setting is reset back to default therefore saving all those unnecessary writes to the registry. :)
