I am having a migraine inducing hard time getting 3D movie playback to work. From everything I can find my setup should work for 3D;
TV: LG 47LW5300 (47" LCD passive 3D)
GPU: PNY GTX 670 (332.21 driver and 3DTV Play trial)
Blu ray drive: ASUS BC-12B1ST
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Media player: PowerDVD 11 Ultra
The GPU and TV are connected via HDMI. 3D setup goes with out a hitch through NVIDIA Control Panel, 3D is enabled and a 3D resolution is set (1080p 24hz) and the TV is set as the sole monitor. The 3D test application works fine. There is noticeable depth and things get fuzzy when you take off the glasses. PowerDVD has 3D enabled and the settings are set to "auto detect" for input and type of 3D.
However when I try to play a 3D Blu Ray disc I notice almost no depth to the picture and the little 3D logo in PowerDVD changes from flat and gray (what it looks like when 3D is not enabled) to stylized three dimensional font and in color (what it looks like when 3D is enabled) as the disc works it's way through the menu, previews and then stays on when the actual movie starts. Taking off the glasses makes no difference to the picture quality, there is no fuzziness or double image. This same disc played in the 3d Blu-ray player produces noticeable depth with the glasses and fuzziness without all through the menus, previews and movie (all content is displayed in very noticeable 3D).
I have tried adjusting the depth sliders in both PowerDVD and NVIDIA Control panel to no effect, even on maximum. I have stepped the resolution down to 720p 60hz and still no change.
I really want to get this working so I can use my PC and headphones to watch 3D movies late at night with out bothering the rest of the family. I have a nice sound set up in my PC that goes unused if use the Blu-ray player and TV speakers, not to mention the huge fluctuations in sound volume in most movies these days makes it hard to keep a consistently low volume that won't wake the dead when the action starts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

There's some suggestions here:

... like press the button on the emitter and make sure you're in fullscreen, and/or force full screen.
Well I'll be a monkey's uncle dipped in honey. Something worked after reading that thread.
LG uses passive 3D so there is no emitter involved. However, I did press the 3D button in PowerDVD and made sure the PowerDVD window was maximized and the only window open before putting the disc in. I also set the the display device to "HDMI 1.4 enabled 3D TV (1080p 24Hz)" instead of "auto detect". Once it loaded the disc a pop up came up (which hasn't happened before) asking about going into full screen mode to use 3D features so I clicked OK and BAM! 3D.
Thanks for the help TsaebehT!

[MonitorSizeOverride][Global/Base Profile Tweaks][Depth=IPD]
