Most Telltale games are somewhat broken in 3D (shadows particularly), I believe there's a profile fix to improve them. I think they've changed their engine for this one though, so it's likely to be even more broken than the previous ones.

Just downloaded the demo because I'm definitely interested in this game, but can't even get the damn thing to load. Get a DirectX error. Happens on Win 10 and 7. Only solution seems to be for Win 7 users to install SP1 and evil update, which I already have both. Will revisit this when the final episode has been released.

Episode 1 got so so reviews, people liked episode 2 much better.
Some people are saying episode 3 is even better yet...
"I am literally BLOWN AWAY.
This episode (3) is one of the most amazing things Telltale EVER made.
Wow...Just, wow. It's got everything, humour, tragedy, tension and romance.
Good job, Telltale. I really am happy with the fact I bought this."

@DJ-RK, were you ever able to get it to run?
Sadly no. I actually found the DirectX error I was getting was because of 3DMigoto installed. Once I removed it the demo/game loads fine. I reported the issue in the 3DMigoto thread, but didn't get any response back there. Can't get 3D to kick in at all, no matter what I try with the Nvidia profile, so I assume game is running in borderless fullscreen.
Here's a link to the post in the 3DM thread in case one of the devs reads this and wants to look: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/685657/3d-vision/3dmigoto-now-open-source-/post/5042153/#5042153

I tried using 3dmigoto and setting the ini to full_screen=1, but I couldn't get it to work. I've no idea if I even did it right, so do not rely on my results. It's using the same engine as their prior games AFAIK.

I took a look at this one awhile back, and added some baseline support to 3Dmigoto to handle this game and others like it, but it's not functional at present.
This game engine is different than the prior TellTale games like Walking Dead. This one requires that you have the evil update installed on Win7, and uses some objects from the 11.1 DX11 category. We don't support that well in 3Dmigoto because it's very complicated, and as a general rule we've been able to get away with 11.0 support.
They don't actually need anything in the evil update, it's just the software developers being retarded like usual, making their job easier at the expense of trouble for people who buy the game. Look on the forum for the surprise that people are required to install an optional update.
I've looked at in fair depth, and have it past the first 5 levels of weirdness, but it's crashing still, and I don't presently have any info as to why. None of my logging works for a hint, and of course they also added immediate exit if a debugger is installed. You know, for a single player game.
You can try the allow_platform_update=1 with full debugging. But I don't think this is just a problem on my machine. It would be interesting to know if that helps the Win10 case.
At the moment, we don't have an answer for games that actually require platform_update, including Dishonored 2.

Thanks for this. It also seems to require the allow_create_device=2 (or maybe =1). That will let it get past the error in that log. I'll expect it to fail much later after almost starting.

Doubt it'll help, but here's the debug log with the =1 setting
