LCD's have ghosting which pulls you out of the immersion.
I dont know if its just me, but in 3D I find resolution not truly necessary. I usually like high res gaming to cut down on jaggies mainly, but because of the way 3D works jaggies really become unnoticable without any anti-aliasing at all, and normally I have 16xQ supersampling running. I dont know why it works exactly.
I would definitely pick 1 x dlp 720p projector. I dont think you can get much more immersion than a 120" screen with no ghosting.
Or for the ultimate you could put two 1080p projectors one on top of the other for stereo 3d. Or better yet, 6 x 1080p projectors in groups of twos. Bear in mind nvidia definitely dont support multi projectors.. I believe iz3d does though.
I believe this would be the best setup right here. I don't think I have a wall in my house large enough and at the correct angles to make the surround effect work though. Best to build a huge custom screen with plywood and screen paint. Something like a 20 foot screen in total though, dayum /woot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' />
....and then monitors come out later that can do 120 Hz at 2560x1600. How about that res in 3D eh?
Or you could just build a replica of the Hoover Dam and stack 16 projectors on top of each other 16 times in a row for an ultimate resolution of 1,000,000x6,000,000. ;)lol
Though I think in the real world the OP might have a little trouble marketing that. ;) Realistically & practically speaking, 3xLCD 3d Surround or 1 large projector or DLP is still the optimal solution.

Go for a dual passive projector rig using linear polarization. Ghosting is as good as with any shutters+dlp rig and brightness higher than any other solution which makes the immersion unbeatable. The high brightness allows usage of huge screens at home.
Oh, it doesn't work with nvidiastereodrivers though... o.O But doesn't matter: I use older nvidiadrivers+7900gt for older games and an 8800 and iz3d drivers for newer.
I can't tell about the other solutions but the experience given from a dual projector rig will probably stand up quite well in comparison. It's expensive since you need two projectors and of course also the bulb wear is twice as high.
About Mitsubishi DLP :
B1- Also is the Mitsubishi C9 series good for 3d games or the colors are not good and not bright and there is no clarity or ghosting? Or is it worth to pay 300$ more per unit to get a 737 series or 500$ more to get an 837 series? Or it doesn't matter for 3d games? Cause I saw someone complaining about crysis when he had a 60inc C9 Mitsubishi.
i think everyone covered most else... about the Mitsu DLP's... if you're customers are going to do any gaming on these, you MUST get at least the 737 series. the 735's are only 60Hz, whereas the 737's are 120Hz. this is a big difference and the 300$ is worth it for a hardcore gamer. the complainer probably had a 60Hz TV.

If you can wait, I'd wait until this summer since a bunch of new 3D HDTVs are coming out. It would also be nice to know which sets will work with the PS3 after it's upgraded to 3D.

i have a c9 and its colors are great- and fully adjustable. it just lacks some of the bells and whistles of a shiny UI (its all there in the advanced menu). Only the 8 series has more features (dark Iris). i could not see any difference at the showroom floor. If the tv says 3d ready- it will do 120Hz.

When searching for the best 3D experience, you should REALLY forget the Nvidia glasses. I've tried them with the Viewsonic screen, with my Acer 3D projector and also with the Asus laptop. They all have the same amount of ghosting, that doesn't exist with some other glasses (XpanD for example). And they also flicker more than the better glasses out there...
