Blank full screen display in Stereoscopic 3D Video Player
Has anybody got any idea why I can't get the NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D Video Player to work in fullscreen-mode. The screen seems to be black, but the voices can be heard. While switching to the fullscreen mode the glasses blink for a sec and it seems that it almost starts to work.

I don't know if it matters, but I've got 295 gtx displaycard. Games do work perfectly, so it seems there aren't anything from with the glasses though.

I haven't been able to watch any of the 3d-videos from Nvidia site (and don't have others to test with eighter).

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I have Vista 64 bit.

I have the exact same problems, running Vista 32 with a 285 gtx. The screen flickers for a moment and I actually see some milliseconds of 3d video before the screen goes black and the glasses switch back to normal view.

I have the same problem. I have tried downloading many different versions of the program and nothing helps.

I can get to see it in full screen if i set it to monoscopic, but what's the fun in that?

Any help, anyone?
Nick

Hi all. Nice to know that I'm not alone here. Just to clarify... I haven't been able to solve this problem. Tried all the new and old drivers too. Maybe someone from NVidia would care to post a reply and help us or give any pointers on what to do with our problem?

Thanks for the download link. I noticed earlier, that NVidias player resembles a lot like the one in 3dtv.at. Maybe they are basically the same. Anyway... couldn't get it working with that player too.

If you look closely enough at the documentation, they are in fact the same program, but nVidia's version is edited slightly to only work with geforce 3D vision.

I have downloaded the version 1.4.8 (nvidia's version is only 1.4.0) and it gets the same error, so nothing is solved by using this program instead

I don't recall which version of the Nvidia video player for 3D that I have installed in my PC, but I've never had any problems trying to watch those videos from the Nvidia website in 3D Stereoscopic. I watched all of them, I have 1.11 drivers at the moment.
I did have problems with that Medusa demo, but I could actually see it with lots of blinking, white flashes and some times crashes. But this was an isolated issue with just this Demo.

I fixed the problem for myself by making sure my monitor resolution to what I use for 3D... I used to have it set differently for 3D programs, and for general use.

I found a way to bypass this behaviour and be able to watch the movies. I had no luck fiddling with resolution like Dr Nick. Instead I did it like this (tested both on Stereoscopic player 1.5 and Nvidias version:

1. Open the file with the player
2. Switch to full screen and watch as the screen flickers with stereoscopic content then goes black (Alt + Enter)
3. Switch to monoscopic (F4)
4. Switch to Stereoscopic once you see the monoscopic image from step 3 (F5)
5. The stereoscopic view comes back on

That works for me - not a too annoying workaround imho.
