Another Missing Topic?

Where did the topic discussion "A little late to the party - have questions regarding edid override?" go? In this thread, I attempted to clarify some of the steps in using the 4K (and 2K) EDID mods with TVs. Do EDID mods violate current NVIDIA policy now? If 3DTV Play were updated to support HDMI 2.0 (plus other changes like allowing 60 Hz Desktop with 24 Hz displays), we users would not have to resort to things like EDID mods. By the way, the mod works perfectly with the superb helixmod.blogspot library of fixed games... To whomever removed this discussion, is an update for 3DTV Play planned to work with the only new 3D displays being manufactured today (besides HMDs) - HDMI 2.0 OLED 4K TVs? By the way, I have purchased a 980, two 980Ti's, and plan to purchase a high-end Pascal card - only because this EDID path exists to replace the outdated 3DTV Play! Note that 2160p in-game resolution settings for some games (like Rise of the Tomb Raider) easily require 2 980 Ti's. Since 4K 3D displays require more GPU processing than Surround setups, I would think NVIDIA would encourage adoption of 4K 3D displays...

Well considering most EDID Overrides completely circumvent the need to actually purchase 3DTV Play, it would be kind of stupid of them not to remove posts about them... that's like your neighbor teaching classes on how to break into your house on your lawn. Lol.

You used to have a support ticket open for 4K 3DTV Play didn't you? Any further developments? I keep bugging them to update 3DTV Play, you would think that they'd be embarrassed by the 1080P 24Hz limit of it. Not to mention that 3DTV Play does not output Line Interleaved, SbS or TnB. Who buys a high end GPU/SLI and 3D HDTV to play at 760P? Definitely not the way it's meant to be played or should be played.

What is the big deal you can't purchase the glasses or emitter kits NVidia also stated according to another user there is no plans to update 3DTV play and the activation server is that working or is it still a six month trail ?

I don't think it's a big deal... at this point 3D/3D Vision needs all the people it can get on board, but as far as the topic goes you really can't blame them for doing their job...

Common... don't be silly what are they protecting? 3Dvision kit is not produced anymore, they are not even present on the market. You can only get them by chance so Nvidia doesn't make any money. They don't offer any solution for passive display and what is offered for active is a joke... 720p. Perhaps they would like to cut the possibility of SBS/TB for us. People are just trying to create something they can't buy.
You used to have a support ticket open for 4K 3DTV Play didn't you? Any further developments?
None. I opened support tickets and contacted NVIDIA tech support by phone multiple times. I own a 3DTV Play license, but it is unusable for anything other than 720p gaming. If NO official solution exists, why remove information about a great work-around? It appears that NVIDIA is deliberately trying kill 3D Vision by restricting its applicability to only older DP/DVI displays and projectors (isolating VR, providing 5 yr-old TV support)...

Well with the VR threads being moved, it's likely that a moderator deleted it. The only other possibilities are 1. the poster asked that the thread be deleted or that his profile/existence be removed. In which case, they sometimes will only remove the posters name from the thread. But other times will delete the whole thread. (I've seen this happen several times) https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/514173/forum-feedback/deleting-account/ 2. the poster was mistakenly taken down after being flagged for spam This happened with a thread on Space Engineers, or at least I think that's what happened. PirateguyBrush and I were responding to his posts. Then the thread disappeared but could be found on the last page of the forum. Only now, every post by ProgNoizes was missing. Then a few weeks later, the whole thread mysteriously returned. edit: there used to be a bit of a dumping ground on the last page. Threads that are dumped there get marked as being posted 46 years ago. They cleaned it up, because there's only a few there now. "tridef and 3d vision " was dumped there. The thread started by davegl1234, was posted 10/28/2015 I only became aware of the dumping ground because I looked at the last few pages to get an idea of how long the 3D Vision sub-forum had been around. (since 2005)

In my message history, I can see all of the remaining thread discussion, but the original posting and his/her follow-up response is missing. Interesting... chtiblue - I will try again...

Is the user name/profile still accessable? try to enter a sentence from what you see in you history into the search, that will tell you if the thread is still around somewhere. Yah, that Space Enginers thread was bizzare because the posts by ProgNoizez were all missing leaving just the ones by Pirateguybrush and myself. I thought we were giving him pretty solid feedback. I thought he deleted his account due to frustration, this was in Nov or Dec. Then in Dec or Jan, the guy resurfaces and his thread pops back up. Also his profile was gone/inaccessable during the this time. The only thing he ever said about it was
FYI, those posts were hidden for some time which i didn't know,, so that's why.
I can link to the topic, but original poster information does not exist. By the way, my file upload is no longer completing (I had no problem with upload in earlier message thread). I have tried twice now...

Google is the only Browser that seems to upload for me anymore. I've been uploading it 3 times, then deleting the other two once one completes. If I only try uploading it a single time, it doesn't seem to go through. Pain in the 4$$
