3D tv's have just hit the stores here in Austalia, so i had to go out and see the Samsung 46" in action, cant say its any better for 3D than my 3D Nvidia setup,
On the samsung you cant set depth or convergence, 2D to 3D isnt much, and Monsters vs Aliens didnt seem any better than the trailer we can download for nvidia, only thing i liked better was the samsung glasses (Samsung SSG-2100AB ) they where lighter in weight, wrapped around your head better, so less light could get in from the sides, and didnt seem as dark was nvidia when activated
Pls nvdivia make your next set of glasses like the samsung version, or at least make a more wrap around version for the people who dont wear perscription glasses

I'm so envious
On that point though anyone else notice the image is darker on an h5360 when it's switched to 120hz even with the 3d off
It seems a lighter image when it have it set to 60hz
Why is that ?
I have seen one of the displays in stores too. The 3D Quality is very good, no ghosting, and not too dark. But what really sucks is the glare/mirror Display. I have seen all the lights from the store and it is very, very annoying. It's like the ones on notebooks today. This kind of displays shouldn't be on an Home Cinema Screen at 3000$ where ist all about display quality. If you buy this display and have window behind, you will be doomed on sunny days, or you will need a very thick curtain. I don't know what they are thinking. Everyone i know hates the reflecting displays too.
I will wait for a pricecut, and non glare displays. Projectors would be even better.

Has anyone bought one yet. I'm keen to get one as they are out down here too. I just want to know if they will work with the Nvidia glasses for gaming. I want to add a 40" for use as my desktop monitor.

I was in a future crap store the other week and saw a samsung big screen 3dtv on display. It was the same glasses from the pic in the post above and i had the same feeling about them. They had an ever so slight feel of junky in your hands but once on your face they are much nicer to wear. Much better pic than my 2233 sammy but expected for a 1080p 4000$ tv. Very, Very good color/brightness and i did notice that overall the pic is less dark as is the tint on the glasses. I did not notice the glare on the screen though, it just looked good. My suggestion, having used my pc 3d setup for a while now and viewing the big screen in the store is wait and buy the biggest screen you can get.
All in all, better than my set up in all ways but price lol. The not being able to control depth and convergence (from what i have read in this forum) would be the only 3d killer for me, once your used to setting it you cant give it up.

Agreed. I don't wear prescription glasses and hate the design of the nvidia glasses. I can see their predicament. If they bundle the glasses with the IR transmitter in a "kit" (which helps to justify the $200 cost as a kit, harder to sell $150 for just the glasses) they would have to have two bundles. The more compact glasses for those who don't need to wear it on top of giant prescription glasses and the giant oversized glasses. They could add just the glasses as a stand-alone but not many are going to buy the $200 kit + more glasses.
