If a profile already exists it will override the settings with the values from the nip.
Also, big thx for posting this info! I am really looking forward to play the Legacy of Kain games again (this time in stereo 3D) Always wanted to do this ^_^.

@Helifax:Thanks. What about settings that were present in the old profile but aren't in the new profile? Do those just disappear, like a complete overwrite, or are they merged with the new ones? [not home and curious, otherwise I would have tried it. :)]
@DarkStarSword:I was having an issue with loading a save game in Drakan for some reason it was hanging at about 50%, I didn't look into whether it was 3D Vision related or Win 7 x64 but I thought I'd mention it because you want to play it through.

All the settings from the nip files are written in the driver. If a setting in the driver exists but the nip file doesn't have it is still retained:)

Tsaebeht & Helifax, thanks for the info on the profile stuff. I am going to experiment with nip files.
A question for anyone in general, I got No One Lives Forever (first one) to enable in 3D vision, but the wrapper causes some of the graphics to turn white. It almost looks like the wrapper does not know what to do with certain graphics. I was thinking about using an Nvidia profile that might be able to fix this. If anyone has a thought or an idea what this could be, let me know. Otherwise the convergence and depth can be adjusted and for the graphics that to do display, it has the potential to look pretty good. I also noticed the game uses the "lichtech" engine. I have the same results in AVP2 (Alien vs Predator 2) since it uses the same engine....
Cheers guys.

Got realMyst running with the DX files, modified the nip above(ProfileName/Executable), imported it and set compatibility mode for Windows 7. I'm not exactly sure how/why setting the EXEs compatibility mode to the same exact OS that I'm using works but I've tried it in a few older titles and it's worked ... haven't had much time to mess with it today, spent most of the spare minutes ripping most of my old games with CloneCD(21-day trial) and putting them on my network drive so I can access them with Virtual CloneDrive(free) and not have to get off my ass to switch discs. :)

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get it working - I tried all the wrappers I could find, along with GL direct, etc - at no point did 3d enable (at least, not while the game was rendering more than a few flat white polygons)

@f3likx, I just re-installed Descent 3 + Expansion (GOG Version) and I have it working in 3D. Not sure what you've tried, but here are the steps I did to get 3D to kick in.
1.) Since Descent can use different renderers, I enabled all three but using D3D Renderer
2.) Go to this link for your resolution settings, there is a command line you can use
http://www.wsgf.org/dr/descent3
3.) From the top post in this thread, follow the information and download the D3D11 renderer. There is a link to a D3D11 renderer there. Simply drop DDraw.dll & D3DImm.dll into the Descent directory
4.) I set the game up before I used the dlls and I also deleted the profile using Nvidia Inspector. This will unlock convergence.
Don't worry about the resolution in menu and loading screens. If you set up the command line correctly, once in game, the correct resolution will be displayed. You can then Ctrl + T to enable 3D Vision and adjust your depth and convergence. I just played the training mission and everything seems fine. I have not tried any tweaks or mods but will explore that to improve the graphic fidelity. This game is a classic and because of the 3 dimensional space, this game is a great candidate to be played in 3D. I have included one screen shot to show how it looks in 3D.
Hope this helps!
