Version 1.67 released

Change notes:

  • New: Added support for 3dmigoto's named variables

  • Changed: Updated 3dmigoto files to version 1.3.14

  • Changed: Improved search for games - for each game all potential install paths found via Registry search, search paths and custom install path are collected first and then searched for the game exe. The first path which contains the game exe is taken as the valid install path of the game. Custom install paths have the highest priorities in search, next is registry paths and the lowest priority is search paths.

  • Changed: "Prioritize search paths over registry paths" option has been removed as it's no longer required

  • Changed: Game search via Windows registry is faster now as some hard disk accesses have been removed

  • Changed: From now on it's mandatory to set the game exe name in fix profiles - otherwise the game won't be found (stricter rule)

  • Changed: When option "Cache detected games for faster app start" is enabled search via search paths isn't executed any more as this would take too much time if a lot of games are installed. This makes editing profiles a lot faster in this case.

  • Bugfix: One version of the helixmod.dll couldn't be detected

Tested it yesterday and it still worked (Win10, GTX 1080). Maybe try disabling fullscreen optimizations (right click on game exe / compatibility tab). Or try disabling SLI. Shadows seemed to be broken. So better leave them "off". Also increasing 3D convergence makes the nebula pop out. This looks weird because the nebula is a simple 2D texture. So play with default convergence (F1)

(win7 only has a few options to choose, i tried them all) Next thing I will try is turning off all extra features on the nvidia "manage 3d settings" , "program settings" page for homeworldrm.exe, doing that now, will edit this with results. Perhaps updates to homeworldrm.exe caused win7(not win10) and 3d vision problems. One thing to note is when the game runs and sets the display into "out of range mode", the 3d vision green light on the emitter does NOT turn on like it should, ever with this game. (but will when running other games, bluray, and the 3d vision test program in the geforce 3d vision setup page) (is it really that impossible to get my forum avatar working, lol?) EDIT, I GOT 3D WORKING. ITS ONE OF THE NVIDIA SETTINGS. Checking out what one now. So far the setting for OPENGL RENDERING GPU must be set to the proper gpu, try one or the other, one causes game to crash, the other will not. The 3d vision green light not turning on is caused by another setting, i am testing now. Ok, The 3d vision light not turning on is caused by the Antialiasing mode being set to something other than APPLICATION CONTROLLED. So the two settings causing problems is choosing the proper opengl gpu(and only one of them), and the antialisaing setting. :D Now i will turn sli and full screen optimizations back on and see if it breaks it. I turned sli back on and full screen optimizations and it still works. (opengl is still set to render on a single gpu, and antialising mode is still application controlled) Thanks for the help guys!

The program I use to make the install setup skips empty folders and I couldn't find an option to include those. The portable zip version of 3DFM is not affected by this issue (I use the portable version). I'll fix this by making sure that the folder is created via c#. So it will be permanently fixed in version 1.69 then. Thx for reporting this!
