New Pascal based Titan X announced - available August 2nd
1 / 2
I guess this is a very interesting announcement especially for those of us who already are into 4K 3D Vision and VR of course.
I just had finished planning my new rig and only didn't hit the "purchase"-button yet because I was still waiting for the Zotac 1080 Amp! Extreme to become available again.......I guess now I should wait until this baby becomes available!

The price is definitely a smasher but I`m waiting for 1080ti anyway so this is only little surprise. Was hoping to show up early next year.
Looks like they didn`t squeeze full Pascal potential so we can expect something more after this.

$1200... so >€1300 in Europe? :p
Now that I have a 1080, I'll wait at least two generations until I upgrade again (2x the performance is my minimum).
I'll buy a new CPU sooner probably (Cannonlake).
hello !
same thing, i think 1080Ti will be better for gaming, especially a custom release like https://www.topachat.com/pages/detail2_cat_est_micro_puis_rubrique_est_wgfx_pcie_puis_ref_est_in10098136.html but for 1080 Ti :)
No HBM? What the hell are they thinking?
They are chicken feeding another batch of cards out and holding back as per usual.
Fucking let down.
Do nvidia triple the prices of their cards every two years now or what?
Piss take!
It's like nvidias have forgotten their roots, gamers!
Save your inflated prices for car companies and AI, pricing the kids out of the market is short sighted and not sustainable!

I owned all the titan cards except the Z and the retail price was $1000.00 also I just looked at New Egg invoice for 780ti which was $799.00 how is this triple ?

20% more in price than the previous TitanX. 1200 $/Euro... are you kidding me?
If the Titan X would have been priced, like before at 1000$ then it would have been a good deal. But why an increase of 20% in price (from the current TitanX, launch price) when is only 25% ? better than a 1080?
So price is 50% more than a 1080 and performance is 25%? I don't get it...
Still there will be people out there who will buy one... or 2 or 3... waste of money if you ask me...
If you have the money for it go 2x1080 and get way better performance than a TitanX (at the approx same price).
Definitely skipping this generation.

Talk about sticker shock, it was almost $500.00 out the door in 2005.
Inflation calculator says that $500 of 2005 money is $627 in 2016 money. So right in the ballpark once 1080 gets back to MSRP.
Looks like a useless card for all those that have a Titan X or 980TI or just bouught a 1080. Let us just wait for the next generation.
Didn't they say the new Titan X has a 50-60% performance increase over the current Titan X!?
Where did you read this? Bought even then, it might only be 30 percent over the 1080... in this case I would prefer the 1080 or just wait for a TI version of it, which might have 25 percent over the regular 1080... Nonetheless, the Titan X2 just comes way too early. I can play all my games in 3D vision on ultra and VR games on ultra with my Titan X1.

If it is 30% faster percent than 1080 then it would 50 to 60 percent faster than original Titan x
My 1080 is 15 to 25 % faster than my Titan X which has a custom bios and cooling.
