Yes - I have fixed it. Just doing a last bit of testing on the spikey bits poking out of cars, then will put it up on the blog.

You are the man!! If you want some free driving tuition (I'm a track Instructor) I'd be happy to provide some to you for all your time, if that could somehow be arranged virtually (or if you happen to be near Philly).

I still consider it "beta", so continue to report issues. Quick notes:
- our testing shows that the black shadow is fixed
- our testing shows that the spikey issues with cars is fixed
If this is not the case for you, first make sure you completely uninstall any earlier fix, try it again, then let me know.

I did a clean test of uninstall.bat of all prior stuff, then install this fix cleanly. Looking great!
I ran my test around the Sonoma Short where I always saw problems, and no spikey cars, and no black death sweeping across the land. Driver 347.52.
Then some madman ran me off the road, cuz I was looking at the scenery.
You can now play this game in awesome 3D- which is worth noting is better than the DK2 experience. Rift and VR are getting a LOT of press as you know, but the reality has been less than stellar.
This game in particular is a huge disappointment to the DK2 crowd. I'm not taking any glee in their/my misfortune on DK2, just observing that we can play with it in proper 3D and it's presently still busted on DK2.

+1 for 3D Vision!
Awesome guys!! I knew there was a reason I bought the game but didn't even install it until now:))
Not a big fan or "car" games but I like driving through a lovely scenery from time to time;))
Big thank you again!!!

Hey Mike , Im still running Alpha 3 with the HUD Fix (.exe edit)
So I want to try your Beta. Do I have do delete this edited exe file and should I use the original exe after cooying your beta files?

It actually should not make any difference to be honest, you can keep the modified one going. When the next patch comes out for project cars it will overwrite the exe with a new one and at that point it will still continue to work.
Just be sure to delete the existing (alpha) ShaderFixes folder, that's super important :-)

I wish, just a weekend hobby when I can afford it lol. I think I mentioned this earlier but I am currently having to sell my track car and it will be a few years before I can get back out, so this game in 3D means a lot. Thank you!
The latest version works great, I haven't seen any issues. I went to record a hotlap with FRAPS to share (I have a couple #1 times in the world currently) but it seems to be glitching while trying to record in 3D. It records mostly in 2D and every once in a while throws in a frame from the other eye (which is often distorted/glitched). Is this something the wrapper might be interfering with? Are there any known good 3D recording solutions?

I'm not sure if the 3DMigoto wrapper has anything to do with this, but I would doubt it. FRAPS records raw format and is pretty resource intensive. I use Nvidia ShadowPlay now, which comes with GeForce Experience - when it works its fantastic, full 60 FPS video, compressed on the fly, almost no game slowdown and directly generates mp4. So give that a try.
I have noticed that the FPS counter from ShadowPlay is not displayed in this game (I tried it last night), but did not investigate if it was the wrapper. The best way to check is to rename the d3dll.dll and nvapi64.dll and run the game - of course it will look all messed up, but it will be sufficient to test the recording glitching with FRAPS, and to test the FPS counter (and also recording) with ShadowPlay.
On a related note, have you played Dirt Rally? I did not buy it because I got this instead, but I like rally games. For some reason Dirt3 no longer correctly recognizes my wheel/pedals properly and is constantly stuck in 1st gear...

Let me second Mike there, ShadowPlay is 10x better than FRAPs for recording 3D video. It's not perfect, and will sometimes not start when in 3D, and only records half-SxS 3D, but otherwise doesn't impact the game, which I think is most important. The trick there is to set 3D to Always on, THEN enable ShadowPlay and it will record 3D.
For the frame rate counter, this is something funny with Cars I expect, because our 3Dmigoto Overlay doesn't show here either. I know it's being called, and drawing, but nothing every shows on screen. Overlay has worked in every other game, so this game is unusual.
