yeah! good news! Keep on trying with the shaders guys!
In the meanwhile, perhaps it could be worth it to verify if this isn't just a kind of post-processed edge blur effect that is causing 3Dvision's shadows issue in ESO...
Just wondering. I'm definitely not an expert but maybe this could help or inspire some tech guys out there. ;)
Cheers!
My 30s look at the shadows in the character creation screen shows that shadows are at incorrect depth, and in particular at too high a depth. So they are not 2D, and hence a bit more subtle, but definitely wrong shadows. I'll have a look tonight to assess what the problems are and if I have any clue, but I will be out on vacation for 3 days starting Friday, so there won't be much to report for at least a week (I am working on AC4 as well).
So guys, is a fix still in WIP?
Yes but with the Workarounds here it is not too bad looking in 3D especially with the new hack I found to increase Convergance..
Best to turn OFF shadows and Water REflection.. are the workarounds..
I know, I play ESO since its release (and before during the beta). Just wanting to know if we could one day activate shadows and reflections with a fix.

Yeah I had a brief look at it last week, and was able to fix one category of shadow problems but there is a FOV dependency for which I can't find any constants or variable to address this without hardcoding (for now). So I will caution that this game is a bit wierd (on first look through anyway) and there are many more shadow and lighting issues to address. It's one of those engines that never exposes a standalone ViewProjection matrix (or even a View matrix), just ModelViewProjection, and that might make some fixes impossible. I may not be able to fix it, or it might not be fixable by anybody, just to be clear. I have about 3 weeks left on the subscription, and along with AC4 these are my 2 priority projects.

Would the shadow problem be fixable for 1st person view at least? For me I like to explore in 1st person but would go to 3rd person for combat. During combat the shadows don't bother me as much because I am focused on the fighting.

Hi - there is no difference, it will be the same shadow shaders unfortunately.

Waooow! Being able to Fix one category of shadow just after a brief look sounds like "One little step for you but one giant step for the community!" to me. :) Do this mean that those shadows are fixable for Vanilla default FOV at least?

I tried the Tridef power 3d & I just can't do it. Its too dim & not much depth. Still have my fingers crossed for a community fix.
Was really hoping ESO would have released a True Fullscreen by now so that maybe we could get a Compatability 3d mode at least.
My fix is looking good (shadows, lights, water, sky/clouds, hud). There are still some lighting issues, and some effects issues, but it's lots better than it was. Might be ready in the next few days if I have time to complete it, or maybe I'll put it out as a WIP regardless (as an MMO there is no way I have played enough to be sure of catching all problems). It's been a really difficult fix actually, ironic for a game that did not look too awful in the first place...

That's great news Mike. Wow even the water!!
You guys who do these fixes are awesome. I don't think anyone expects it to be perfect but I for one appreciate you taking the time on this.
