Black Desert Online 3D fix..

Thanks again for working on this, shadows still present. I'm starting to wonder if it was the driver. What version are you using at the moment?

It's still night time in game but I don't see any shadows! Game is almost playable except for the film around the character on the ground.

Well if you push the Seperation and convergence up a bit that help with the film around the charachter.. I had made 2 presets for it which can be changed.. read the guide at HelixMod site for instructions..

Well I think I discovered the mystery that has been plaguing me for a while now. I discovered that while holding the Shift Key down while ruinning it seems to disable the fix.. So Somehow when running as I have to press SHIFT + W to go full run it seems to disable the fix.. I will ask the modders what could cause that and maybe this has been the problem why some shadows are returning all the time.. I am glad I dicovered this as it might be the problem and what has been happening to you guys..

OK I made some final changes and released v1.0.10 on the HelixMod site Please use that for now.. it should be basically the same as 1.0.09 with a minor fix on Soft shadows and cleaned up the d3dx.ini file a bit..

I really need to learn how to fix it. What is the syntax you use to turn off shadows?

OK Let me have a look I figured that would happen ;) you can disable the shader by the ini or insert this into the code befroe the "RETURN;" code mark.. o0=0; that disables that shader..

http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2017/04/black-desert-online-3d-fix_6.html This fix 1.0.11 should of fixed the player shadows.. On the guide at HelixMod I show you how to enable Hunting which is required to find the shader in question.. What you do after enabling Hunting=2 you add the 2 and then to find the offending shader use the numpad 1,2,3 keys 1 steps the shaders backwards 2 steps them forward and 3 marks it.. It is really easy just have Hunting on you will notice Green text at the top that should indicate shading is on.. Then step forward until you see the shadows Dissappear that will indicate that is the shader you are Hunting for.. then mark it with the Numpad 3 key you should hear a high pitched tone that indicates that shader was successfully marked.. Now exit the game and goto the shaderFixes folder. look for the most recen shader it should indicate a date and time mark.. so as long as you knew the time and date you marked it that should be the shader you found.. Also there will be a JPS Picture there if you look at that it should show you the picture when you marked that shader.. Then goto the TXT file and in there to copy the numbers highlight the text file right click it then click RENAME then the number will highlight in Bluy click COPY.. Now it is time to work the magic. go into the d3dx.ini file use NOTEPAD++ goto around line 560 you should see some entries like so: [code] ;One eye effect of candles in cave of ancient weapon disabled.. [shaderoverride1] hash=b286c1cdd40325f1 handling=skip ;Branches on Road Disabled.. [shaderoverride2] hash=c0473d8f7610734d handling=skip ;No Idea what this is?? [shaderoverride3] hash=4ae1ce2b020b1e17 handling=skip [/code] goto the last entry in that string and input a new line like so [code] [shaderoverride12] hash= PASTE NUMBER YOU COPIED HERE. handling=skip [/code] Now the number after shaderoverride should be the next sequentail number after the last entry.. which was 11 so enter 12.. that just keeps them in order.. then save the inoi file CTRL + S.. Notepadd ++ is finicky dont close the file with the top right X as that will close thhe file and not save it either close with the TABS of the file open or click CTRL + S.. Once you done that reload the game and the shadows or the shader you found should be disabled know.. I know it seems like alot but it is easier then it sounds.. Hopefully I explained it well and you can do this for future updates only if to fix it for yourself.. Hopefully that help ;)

This fix 1.0.11 should of fixed the player shadows..

Now it is time to work the magic. go into the d3dx.ini file use NOTEPAD++ goto around line 560 you should see some entries like so:

;One eye effect of candles in cave of ancient weapon disabled..
[shaderoverride1]
hash=b286c1cdd40325f1
handling=skip

;Branches on Road Disabled..
[shaderoverride2]
hash=c0473d8f7610734d
handling=skip

;No Idea what this is??
[shaderoverride3]
hash=4ae1ce2b020b1e17
handling=skip

goto the last entry in that string and input a new line like so

[shaderoverride12]
hash= PASTE NUMBER YOU COPIED HERE.
handling=skip

Now the number after shaderoverride should be the next sequentail number after the last entry.. which was 11 so enter 12.. that just keeps them in order..

then save the inoi file CTRL + S..
