@Blacksmith56: yes, the Lightboost % directly controls brightness, but not by reducing voltage, but reducing the time the image is displayed (it's also a wider range than brightness, that's why it can be pretty dark). I recommend you to use 100% normal brightness and adjust the Lightboost % to your taste.
In my case (Dell S2716DG), I can only change normal brightness and contrast, with no way of reducing the strobe length. I got used to it, but I would like to get less motion blur.
NVicious got it right. Hy, at least you have some options!
Knowing this, chances of buying a PG278QR have increased :p.
You misunderstand me..
It doesn't do any visible difference in a 3D game, whenever normal brightness is 10% or 100% :)

Win7 64bit Pro
CPU: 4790K 4.8 GHZ
GPU: Aurus 1080 TI 2.08 GHZ - 100% Watercooled !

And lots of ram and HD's ;)
:/ Sooooooo.... no strobe length option then? This is getting confusing.
The difference (if the option really exists) should be noticeable in testufo.com, if you have a good eye for motion blur and compare at high speeds (>=2000px/s).
I play Dark Souls 3 at 50Hz and it gets pretty blurry in movement. But not breaking vsync is worth it.

Like Nvicious said, Backlight/ brightness seems allways to be 100% in 3D mode and NOT adjustable, and only adjustable light option in 3D is the strobe lenght/ lightboost !

You got me curious so I started poking around on Amazon. Found a review with a similar problem (though only half a second, not two!):

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. Instead of altering their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views ... which can be very uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.
Thanks for this. Yes I am aware, there is a bit of talk about around. But people have fixed it in various different ways, and funnily enough for me it stopped happening for months and only started again when i got this new one. But personally I think in my case it's the cables. As I switched to a different cable from the primary screen I was using and it did not happen at all last night. I will try some of those VESA compatible ones and try hitting up asus if all else fails.
But yes, Masterotaku apart from this little issue I am having it's definitely the nicest 3dvision monitor I have tried.

Form what I understand with TN panels a dead pixel is white yes? Anyone know much about this? I definitely only appeared today.

I don't know anything about the colors, but I had 2 dead ? pixels, 1 blue and 1 red..
They appeared after some days use and where present for 2-3 weeks, and then suddenly disappered again..
Now I haven't seen them for allmost 2 weeks :)
AFAIK
A stuck pixel can be red, blue or green
A dead pixel, is white.
There are lots of ways to unstick a pixel. Specific software or youtube videos or a calibration DVD/Blue-ray
Yeah blacksmith you just had some stuck pixels there. I think other types of panels a dead pixel is Black but for a tn panel it's definitely white. I think theres a cluster of them in my case cause it's a decent sized blob I guess this monitor is going back for an RMA. =/

I've got my new PG278QR hooked up. So far, so good! Finally, a monitor with more pixels than my old CRT!
I haven't even played with the settings yet but ghosting seems to be gone! I use this image to test my ghosting with the harsh light/dark contrast. This one can cause a similar issue (overdrive?) in the lower right where the white of the boat overlays the boat floor but only in full screen mode. My old Asus would show crazy colors in that region. I can tell the new Asus is struggling, too, but I don't think I would have noticed it if I didn't know where to look.
I did disable 3D Vision for a bit and the monitor got a LOT brighter when I turned it off! That seems backwards to me but I'm sure I can poke around in the settings to deal with that.
Installation wasn't too bad but plugging in that display port into the monitor - sheesh.
Unfortunately, at 2560x1440, pns screenshots are often over 10MB which means I have to convert them before uploading to 3D Vision Live. Life is hell. ;)

Congratz, with your new monitor :)
It might have an issue with the backlight, sometimes when I quit a gaming session (3D off cource :) the light doesn't go back to my default setting, but instead it seems to "convert" the lightboost setting to the brightness level...
