Current state of 3D?

As I noted earlier, you have no prayer of being able to play 1440p in 3D with a single card. You need to get past your misunderstanding of SLI. Nearly everyone here uses it. It's a natural, and superb fit for 3D. And, I asked you before why you are so concerned about SLI, and you ignored the question.
Well, I understand SLI now, but the last thing which is making me wanna go around it, comes down to price...
No manufacturer makes a single card (at any price) that can outperform a high end SLI setup. Simply put you need the performance to keep your average frame rate above multiples of 60FPS or your going to be turning down "eye candy".

Well you "could" get a Dual Gpu single card they perform great in 3D as well. These are the #90 series. Like 590. 690. 790. At least as long as they plan to do one for the 800 series [890]. But the fact is its going to cost you like $1000 in videocards minimum to perform till the next card cycle[1 YEAR] where you will have to upgrade again. If you want higher then 40fps. I have 2 680's and I can go all the way down to high 40's in some games. Thats at 1080P. They were literally the best cards when I bought them less then 2 years ago at $1100
Well, I understand SLI now, but the last thing which is making me wanna go around it, comes down to price...
Well, that's another spot where SLI is actually quite a lot better than a single card. In terms of value, the performance received for $ spent, SLI is also far better. Let's go back to my favorite graph: Note that the GTX690 still outperforms every other card. Including the just released Titan Black. $1000 for GTX690 goes faster than $1000 on Titan Black. You also have the option of lesser&cheaper cards that in SLI will outperform anything at the same price point. Or spend more for even more performance. It's quite a bit like the guns in Borderlands, where after awhile you just spend how much money you think is right. GTX 760 at $250 apiece, $500 for SLI. If you go to 3DMark and look at the Vantage results, you can see that 760 SLI can get to 55,000 on the above graph. So $500 worth of video cards can be about as fast as the older GTX 690. http://www.3dmark.com/search#/?url=/proxycon/ajax/search/gpuname/3dmv/P/NVIDIA%20GeForce%20GTX%20760&gpuName=NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760&mode=basic Mostly it depends upon how much you want to spend, you can hit pretty much any price point with SLI. At this late date, I'd still wait to see what Kepler brings, whether it's better performance, better features, or even better prices on older cards. But, I definitely would not hold price against SLI- it's the other way around.

Alright, well in that case, I will wait for Maxwell, and I will see - I will either SLI 860 or 870...At this point, that's the best choice for me...I am fine waiting. I wanna have guaranteed performance for 60FPS minimum at all costs on 1080p 3D screen (because of Oculus Rift) which surely I will have, if I wanna have 60FPS on 1440p 3D gaming. I am curious to see first how GTX 790 will do...probably it will outperform everything ;) 2 870s will do me a perfect job...
