So im new to 3D gaming and Dead Space 3 is my first shot at this. So i downloaded the Helix Mod everything is installed correctly. Its just.... Im not sure if I am supposed to be getting this double vision effect. Its kind of hard to explain. I set my Depth to 100% and when i increase my convergence, i get the double vision effect, when i lower it down enough for no double vision the 3D effect just is not that strong. Is there some settings I am missing or some hotkeys I am supposed to be using because everyone praises the mod and the game but I must be missing something. Also, do you have to play 3D games in 720p because my TV refresh rate in 3D at 1920x1080 is capped at 24 which is unplayable. At 720p its 60. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. My specs.

If you don't mind 24Hz, you can uncheck vertical sync and get higer FPS than 24 in 1920x1080. works in some games, some games dont, like Tomb Rider is stuck for me at 24 FPS.

Ghosting.

It has to with contrast and your display. Certain displays are better then others such as DLP has almost none [I use a dlp projector because I cant stand ghosting others use the hmz-t1 or t2]. Try adjusting contrast on your display and you might see a difference.
Games like Deadspace, Doom 3 BFG, Mirror's Edge, etc. Are more likely that you will experience ghosting, if its one of these games don't panic but if its alot of games you might be a bit screwed especially if you bought a very old manufactored HDTV. The "first gen" is pretty terrible. Like I said certain displays are better then others, its not just age. Some displays were just poorly made for 3D.
Doom 3/ Deadspace has a Lot of "piercing the darkness". Like a white lights to black darkness.
Try playing with at like 75% depth. Then play with contrast. If it doesnt work. Revert then try 50, then contrast again.

You could try taking a screenshot of the 'double vision' thing you're talking about with Alt+F1 and then attach it to your post. Screenshots are saved in your Documents\NVStereoscopic3D.IMG\ folder, if it's a .pns file and you can't attach it just rename the extension to .jps, it'll still open fine. Attach it using the paperclip icon on the top right of your post.
edit: wasn't even thinking about crosstalk ... but that should happen regardless of convergence settings, especially at 100% depth.

Id bet money -_o . Maybe he didnt play long enough with low convergence where he ran into opposing colors. As soon as I saw Dead Space/double vision I was 80% certain then when he said dropping depth reduces Im almost positive.
Ive heard it quite a few times about dead space series and like games[doom/jericho/X3/space games]. I test DLP glasses with Dead Space 2 for a reason, plenty of them still get at least a bit on it at 100% depth.
But I can be wrong, if OP doesnt think it is. Follow tsaebetht's directions and give screenshots.
If I'm right. This tool MAY work, pretty much same as playing with contrast but Ive never had to use it.
But like I said, dont panic if its ghosting. This is a pretty extreme game as far as people having it.

The Ghosting is exactly what im talking about. Let me play around with the contrast and do as you said and ill try to get a screenshot up, im new to all this so ill do my best.

Well if its ghosting we wont see it depending on our display. I literally won't because Im on a dlp projector.
Play with contrast/depth. TBH, I dont think any HDTV on the market that's not DLP could get through dead space without ghosting at 100% depth, Im not even sure about monitors. You may have to settle a bit. Dead Space is a real extreme situation. You need to run into it a bit more in other games before worrying. Try to find a middle ground betweem contrast/depth, convergence isnt a huge factor.

Alright, i went into the Nvidia Control Panal, i lowerd the contrast and balenced it with some Digital Vibrance and a tiny bit of gamma. It has helped a little, but i guess i should of been a little bit more specific on the ghosting. Its only his Health and Stasis meter on the back of his suit that im getting the double vision on, and its pretty significant. Everything else looks good, only occasional ghosting on text here and there, but nothing like the health meter. It ruins the experience for me. Its ok though cause the game looks beautiful 2D on max settings at 1920x1080 on the 55inch. Thanks for the input and help though.

then de/increase convergence until both health meter and "ghost health meter" line up.

If you want to save your custom convergence settings press "U" and select required preset, set custom separation/depth settings , then press F7 and your settings will be saved in the config file. You can set custom settings for both presets and for gun preset as well (when holding mouse button 2(aiming gun), set custom separation/depth settings and press F7. Release mouse button 2).

Looking at your screenshots, it's definitely ghosting on your TV, not the Helix mod or the game. When I look at the image on my 3D projector it's normal.
Since the health meter and stasis meter are the big problem for you, your best bet will be to do what Kingping1 suggests, and dial down the convergence so that they are no longer ghosting. This will reduce the visuals, but is one of the only ways to reduce this sort of ghosting.
(There is a weird double light on his helmet though, 2 lights on right eye, one light on left eye. But this is clearly not what you are talking about.)
