I wasn't going to make a post about this but it was just too big of a coincedence that when I completely redid the old patch/really enjoyed the game it got a 75% off sale.
Anywho, if your at all interested in game its amazing in 3D imo. Should check the videos on the new patch @ http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-bureau-xcom-declassified.html
Ordered from simplycdkeys. Thanks for the link and thanks Eqzitara for the recommendation and the fix!
Slightly off topic, but steam has a lot to answer for. I just went through activated about 20 games I'd forgotten I bought through humble bundle, plus this game to add to the list now!
We need someone to develop some sort of stasis machine so that we have enough time to play through our steam libraries!!

Yup, I know how to get around geo-blocking via vpn, and pretty much every other way, but I shouldn't have to in order to get the same price as other people, and my inherent laziness is greater than my need to play a 3rd person shooter now I am over XX. Yes, I know it's one button press to turn it on, but turning it off again makes it two. Not worth it to give someone my money in a roundabout route when they are ripping off my entire country.

Really enjoying this game.
My super low expectations has left me pleasantly suprised.
Right at the start there are things which are just not explained (turrets and cloaks) but I am just letting it ride and loving the bonkers story
Fab graphics and completely agree with eqzitara's assessment of one of the best 3D contenders. The little things like the classy name plates during down times and 'chunky' graphics really pay off in 3D.
Best £7 I've spent in a while. :)

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Yea, the turrets/cloak is kind of strange.
I think I know what happened though. They are high level abilities and they are "supposed" to be taken from outsider technology. Since both are used by outsiders. I am guessing somewhere along the lines they decided the beginning of game would be too slow paced and gave you high level squadmates. I can see why because the first real mission feels lacking till you level up at least once.

Well its nice to see physx particle effects in 3d thats for sure. I had very wicked effect when using the fix (displaced shadows, textures straped from objects, effects rendered out of where they should be) but its working completely fine with the alt version. Thanks for the fix and for pointing me to this game I would have not picked it up otherwise.

If you change your settings while game is loaded up you need to restart game which sounds like that.
There isnt really a difference between the two files besides crosshair [I made the square bigger because some people have issues with its size].

Here's 2 pics of the problem i mentioned on your blog.
It's possibly the same problem described by tehnace because i also have (displacedshadows.
Sadly for me the altfix didnt change anything.
What exactly do you mean by changing the settings while the game load?
I dont see any pictures.
It means if you change your settings [like resolution, whatever]. You need to reboot the game.
If you press F3. Does Hud depth change? Like the hud should move. If not, you either don't have fix installed or you launched it as DX11 and fix won't work.
-------------------------------------
If your sure you installed it to right folder, you probably set the game to dx11 the first time the game loaded by accident.
steam version
>Right Click the game in your Steam game list.
>Choose Properties
>Choose Launch Options
>type -dx9 in the box
>Click Okay and Close
Non-steam version
Right click TheBureau.exe
make shortcut
right click the new shortcut.
go to properties and append "-dx9" to the target field. Otherwise, if you have steam version, you can right-click on the game, click on properties->general->set launch options and add "-dx9" in the field.
should look like.
"F:\Program Files (x86)\The Bureau\Binaries\Win32\TheBureau.exe" -dx9

The hud disapear completly with F3.
The 1st time i loaded the game i tried the dx11 versions. Then i quit, installed the fix and loaded the same game in dx9.
I will try a fix reinstalation and then reboot a game from the start instead of loading the same savegame. With the -dx9 in the box fix.
Put this file in your folder ..\The Bureau\Binaries\Win32\
https://s3.amazonaws.com/eqznew/d3d9.dll
If you do not see red text at the top of your screen is set to DX11 still.
It should look like this -> http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/eqzitara/image/52280c820f35304f63000080/
If you see red text make sure folder layout is..
The Bureau\Binaries\Win32\shaderoverride\
The Bureau\Binaries\Win32\d3d9.dll
The Bureau\Binaries\Win32\dx9settings.ini
My only other suggestion is if you did the above is to reinstall Direct X 9.0c.
