Mitsubishi DLP WD-92840 This or a smaller Plasma??
This isn't to replace desktop gaming, it's a lot less hassle, albeit more expensive, than my previous H5360 and screen. Looking through the forums I see some saying I'd get true 1080 as it supports checkerboard. Sure would appreciate some feedback on the Mitsubishi dlp's from users/owners.

If its on the 3d tv play list(though I think you use 3d vision since you are doing checkerboard. Not certain) go with DLP always. Dlp has no/little ghosting. Keep in mind DLPs are BIG so you need room.

3D gaming is all about immersion, and immersion is all about size. Since all Mits rear proj support native res 1920x1080 3D gaming, I say go for the 92".

Thanks for reconfirming the 1080/checkerboard. Was pondering Plasma/LCD/Projector/DLP, as wanted to have multi use.
Plasma great for movies but low res for games and max size is 65"
LCD (w/LED) great for lighter rooms and Sharp's new max size of 80" is cooler than snot.
I had the Acer H5460, but noise and then have to get a screen, mount to ceiling etc., and on a budget, still recommend this route as worked fantastic
Mitsubishi 92", checkerboard, 1080, but size a problem for some folks, as 23" depth.
So, went to Fry's last night to go look at them and they are having a sale from April 27 to May 03, Regular price, $5,999. Sale price, $2,999. No brainer, got it.

I've been using 3d vision with my 67" led dlp sammy for the last two years now, and I couldn't be happier! After playing on my friends 60" lcd @720p it really drove home how great dlp works with 3d, compared to the other display technologies.
