I've yet to see anyone mention that they were able to get a 120/144Hz Free Sync monitor to work. But I do not frequent other forums, so you might look on overclocker's forums. There are plenty of certified monitors to choose from made by Acer, Asus, Philips, AOC, BenQ

Dude, what a question... you have been here for a long time. All 144Hz monitors can run at 120Hz too. You just have to find out if they support 3D Vision. If they have Freesync, it's a huge red flag that they won't. So if it's >120Hz, TN, and it doesn't have Freesync, it's very possible that they are compatible. Search around the internet just in case, after you find a good model that interests you. By the way, you can only play at 100Hz or 120Hz in 3D. You can force gzdoom to enable 3D Vision at whatever refresh rate, but crosstalk is awful (because of the lack of strobing on my current monitor).

I don't give Any interest for Any freesynch or gsynch as i don't use my monitors for Gaming. Like masterotaku said, it's got to be TN... Although they made 3d TVs with Va panels and 3d, it only seems to be TN monitors that work with 3d. Even if you can override them, other panels just don't work well.

Unless it's got the official nVidia 3D Vision branding, it won't work. No question about it.

That's why it's only ever TN monitors that are 3d vision certified. To minimise flickering, I find it best to play in a dimmed room and avoid bright lights, especially flourescent lights. Some LED lights seem ok. Even daylight makes it worse, because you'll probably notice the flickering in your peripheral vision.

In order to get 3D Vision with shutter glasses to work with a generic LCD monitor, you'll need : - 100Hz input refresh rate or more : that's easy to find - Response time as quick as possible : which means a gamer TN panel - Constant input lag : not published by the manufacturer, you'll need to check for online reviews which check input lag and give you the variability - EDID override from a 3D Vision display without emitter (for use with the USB pyramid emitter) - USB pyramid emitter and 3D Vision glasses v1 or v2 (of course) ! - the constant input lag must match the one from the monitor used in the EDID override : I do not know how to find this information, or if it is possible to override this by modifying the display lag in the 3D Vision driver's database. If you fail a single one of these criteria : you will get huge amount of crosstalk, and/or L/R eye swaps. If you match all these criteria : you will get the equivalent of a 3D Vision v1 monitor. (acceptable but clearly visible crosstalk) With the initial random eye reversal upon activation (which you are familiar with when using your Geobox) What you will be missing : display back-light burst mode, necessary for : - 3D Vision 2's "Light boost" - 3D Vision 2's Crosstalk improvements - plug and play (yeah that's the benefit of buying official 3D Vision products) IF you want my opinion, it's not worth the effort unless you already have all the hardware and still want to give it a go. But don't spend too much time on it.

Thank you for everyone from their feed back i will pass this info to my friend. if choosing active solution better stick with nvidia certified. i don´t quite get the benefit of light boost. i just tried the benq and i think the light boost the image is even more awfull. it just increases the annoying flicker. man i can´t keep but wondering how some of us can use these active monitors. The image is quite great but the flickering is unbearable. I get almoust sick of watching it. or im doing something wrong, but i can´t believe it´s that as this ain´t rocket sience. allthough i did not do the setup wizard again but i should not have to ? luckily i have my projector setup.

2- By strobing the image, it avoids lots of crosstalk in 3D. I have seen how bad 3D can look without strobing at 144Hz. 3- Unfortunately, it's limited to 60Hz per eye, so you'll get the same flickering as with a 60Hz CRT. It would have been a lot more bearable if it could work at 144Hz (72Hz per eye) too. In my experience, I'm not bothered by 60Hz flickering, or even 50Hz if the game isn't too bright.

Often, a good place for model specific monitor info is http://www.tftcentral.co.uk They do not list the XL2441Z, but there's a review here http://display-corner.epfl.ch/index.php/BenQ_XL2411Z
