Hi all,
would anyone be so kind to provide a small guide on what to do after starting the nvidia 3d setup wizard?
I know how to install a modified driver in WIN10 or lastly onto an hdfury device (hardware), but i can't get it to work yet, i suppose i am doing something wrong in the Optoma HD27 settings while running the wizard?
The setup wizards returns to the initial screen after the IR mode selection .. with some interruptions / black screens in between.
Here are a couple of questions i have, I would greatly appreciate it if you find time to answer some .. ?
- Could you provide an INF file that works with Optoma HD27?
- What resolution do you set in the nvidia panel before you start the 3d vision setup wizard?
- What mode do you set on the optoma hd27 before you start the 3d vision setup wizard? (3d vesa - frame sequential, 3d dlp - frame sequential, reverse synch on/off, ..)
- Do you connect the modulator only via usb or do you connect it to the port on the projector as well?
- i have the nvidia glasses btw and would like to use them
let me know if i should provide anymore details?

For using Optoma HD27 with 3D Vision / 3D Vision glasses you can install this EDID override:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-jFOtQ3CCSKYXp2QmpES2JYMlU/view
You should set your resolution to 1280x720 @ 120Hz before starting the setup wizard - otherwise it might crash.
If the setup wizard still fails you can skip it by enabling 3D with 3D Fix Manager. I think it isn't important what you set in the projector menu.
Connect your USB emitter to the PC (not the projector).
In the past I succeeded in using Optoma HD 27 with 3D Vision but for me rainbow color effect was too noticable - so I sent the projector back to Amazon.

thanks! I will try 1280x720@120hz without doing anything on the projector then.
I suppose the projector switches automatically to 3d or prompts with yes/no when getting the signal.
Likewise 3d fix manager seems to be a great app as well, thanks! :)

I was quite happy using the hd27 & ps4, now having the hd27 & pc would not make it more noticeable, would it?
Anyway it would be an achievement already if i manage to get 3d in the first place! :D
Thanks for the help so far, i might have to ask again some more, will try your suggestions ..

I meant for successfully passing the setup wizard you do not have to enable 3D in the projector menu. It's not a requirement.
After I passed the setup wizard on this projector 3D even worked when "3D" was set to "off" in the projector menu. However eyes were reversed and you would have to wear the glasses upside down then. When enabling 3D in the menu (frame sequential) everything worked correctly.
Good luck!
Btw if you think like me that 720p resolution isn't good enough for gaming then there is an option to enable "DSR" in Nvidia driver. With this you can internally calculate games in 2560 x 1440 and output them in 1280x720 with still getting 120hz. Results of this are similar to 8xMSAA. However it's a little bit tricky to make it work on a 1080p projector. There is a howto guide somewhere in this forum.

The setup wizard kept crashing after the IR settings. As you suggested I used 3D Fix manager and now it works perfectly fine awesome!! donated thx!

For DSR the problem is that the Nvidia driver always wants to downsample to the native resolution which is 1080p for you projector and 1080p does not support 120hz for 3D. So somehow we need to make it sample further down to 720p.
There are 2 ways to do it:
1.) Download CRU and delete all 1080p resolutions from the EDID of your projector. Disadvantage of this method is that you are permanently downgrading your 1080p projector to a 720p one. 720p is your native resolution then and DSR works flawless.
2.) Follow this guide here. With this method you create a custom 1080p resolution which is actually a 720p @ 120hz resolution. With this the Nvidia driver is forced to sample 1080p further down to 720p due to the custom resolution. When I tried this method it was absolutely necessary to change desktop resolution to 720p@120hz before starting a game to make DSR work - at least it worked in 80% of the games approximately. I suggest to also add a 1920x1081 custom resolution (+ or - 1 pixel from native resolution). Choose this in game if you want to play in 1080p for 2D mode.
Note: You should only use 4xDSR in Nvidia driver which results in a 2560x1440 resolution. This gives you the most sharp picture.

In some dx11 games, it is possible to use SbS or TnB via 3Dmigoto.
I'm not sure what all the necessary steps are, but I do know that you need to enable it in the ini provided with downloads of games fixed with 3Dmigoto.
