Anyone else having 3D Vision activation problems after Windows 8 update?
Sorry, still new to 3D Vision environment. Is anyone else having 3D Vision activation problems after latest Windows 8 update, or is this just a newbie issue? After temporarily disabling 3D Vision to run Ignition yesterday for some testing, then installing a Windows 8 update (13 items), I no longer can get 3D Vision to activate with any of my games - like Alien Isolation. The NVIDIA test pattern still works great, though. I tried re-installed NVIDIA drivers. The PC system security behavior seems to have changed a little. For example, when running an uninstall.bat script now, a new Windows SmartScreen app prevents the script from running, unless I manually allow the activity to occur. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Just curious, have you tried 3D discovery mode, you'll get funny colorfilter 3D but if that works it should work just as well in proper 3D Vision. Somethings obviouosly changed regarding handling of *.bat files. Sounds like the builtin antivirus. You could try system restore to test before and after update.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?

control + t = stereo on or off. Did you try hitting that combo while in-game? Tridef disables nvidia 3d not to activate on default. Regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D. IIRC tridef switches StereoDefaultOn to 0 every time it launches game. No other ideas, always worked fine on win8 for me.

Create a reg file with the following below Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D] "StereoDefaultOn"=dword:00000001 Every time you use Tridef just click on file this will set NVidia 3D to the primary 3D render.

Thanks for the suggestions - especially the creation of a reg file to restore 3D Vision default setting. I did not know Ignition changed the NVIDIA registry setting (so the Windows 8 update created no problems). 3D Vision is again activating upon game launch.

And just so its clear to you, you dont even have to do those registry changes. I have not bothered, i just hit control + t once in-game to activate 3d. Those changes ignition makes dont disable 3d vision or anything, just makes it not to autostart on game's launch. As far as i know, no other issues with ignition and 3d vision. Ive double dipped for a long time with no issues.
