No idea if this guy is right, but here is what he says Optimal Power is..
Optimal Power:
To further reduce power consumption while the computer is idle and nothing is changing on the screen, the driver will not make the GPU render a new frame; the driver will get the one (already rendered) frame from the framebuffer and output directly to monitor.
There have been updates to the CM profiles
Need For Speed
Dark Souls 3
Fry Cry Primal
Again CM mode is way better than 2D.
I notice this before importing my custom global profile.
Nvidia are so crap. They make billions a year but can't take a poxy resolution limit off their software.
It's piss poor on so many levels.
Someone must be able to do something surely?
Playing 3D games at 720p on a 4k TV. You couldn't make it up!
"Can't wait to get that Nvidia 1080 with HDR enabled HDMI 2.0b and displayport 1.4 which supports 8K so I can plug it into my 4K TV and play 3d in 720p" said no one, ever
They then make real 3D fake 3D. Touting that all games will work in 3D now.
Then they don't make any game profiles! Way to go NVidia.
Don't forget the 'autostereo' for VR which we could use all 3D vision games in our VR headsets. never happened.
The 3DTV Play activations servers that didn't work for 6 months.....
Then they want us to use their VR works!
Hahahahah, they must think we are stupid! :D
Fix your shit before you try and sell us more of the same! It's called good business practice!
Try giving something back, it's called good faith.

NFS CM mode was updated in the 368.22 IIRC. I know we've talked about it before, but it still has unacceptable (IMO) haloing when parked in the garage... which is where I spend 75% of my game time in order to customize.

Use an EDID override and get full 3d vision support. Use Tridef also. Get the best of all worlds. Sure, you still need a Nvidia GPU - but just get one with a cheap cooler, strip the board down and put your own cooling solution on it to counteract the silly GPU boost stuff.

On my setup with my custom profile for Need for Speed CM mode and the one NVidia provides there is no haloing I'm using a Samsung UN55HU9000 and a Samsung UN47C7000 with Acer HR274H 3D Monitor EDID Override. So I can only comment to what I see and again it way better than 2D.
