Hi

For anyone who is having this problem, when you quit the 3D app and the monitor brightness is locked at 100%, does the emitter continue to glow bright green or has it dimmed to faint green? If it stays bright green then we probably did not exit from the 3D mode as expected.

The nvidia light is definitely not bright green to show it's still on, it is just regular green. Unplugging the ir transmitter or turning 3d off in the control panel doesn't help, only something such as change resolution gets back control of brightness.

cheers andrew! one game to try it on is just cause 2, im playing the steam version. on the alienware aw2310 it gets locked 100% of the time after this game, although admitted it locks on many other games as well, although with this game its 100% of the time. Its annoying as after playing a game im usually doing word processing and only realise after getting really sore eyes 30 mins later that the brightness is at 100%, it really hurts! having to change the resolution after every game seems pretty lame. Thanks for looking into it.

I just tried JC2 and still couldn't reproduce this. Steam version ya? Have you tried turning off Dynamic Contrast to see if it still happens if disabled?

I was able to find a configuration that reproduces this so I am going to give my system to our software team to investigate.

That's true, I didn't know that till I read this thread. It is locked at 100% bright even with 3D mode disabled in regular desktop use. It's locked at 100% but I guess it really never bothered me since I've never complained about it. The brightness at 100% is ok I guess compared to my old 2233rz display.

Edit: it's simple, just disable dynamic contrast and activate manual brightness and it will unlock brightness. Very simple, just mess arround with the touch screen buttons in the right side of your AW2310 display.

my dynamic contrast has always been set to off, also on standard mode dynamic contrast isn't even selectable as its greyed out, same problem. even tried turning off ddc/ci no avail (its turned back on now) seems to be something deeper then that francomg, though thanks for your help.

Hi

I'm not sure why you saying that. We have raised the issue internally at NVIDIA and will look into a fix.

Hi

Just so we overcommunicate, yes this is fixed, but will not be in the first release of the R270 driver. We will let you know when this is in a driver you can use.
