Not able to run 3D Stereoscopic setup Nvidia 480 Vizio XVT3D424SV
3D TV Game Playing and BluRay movie playing using Nvidia 480 Vizio XVT3D424SV.
Hardware \Software I have:
1. Nvidia 480
2. Drivers 260.99
3. Windows 7 Ultimate
4. Internal BD LG (passes cyberlink Blu-Ray test, but the monitor test fails on cyberlink advisor).
5. 3D Hdtv Vizio XVT3D424SV
6. Driver NVIDIA_3DTV_Play_Support_Update_1.0.0.12
7. HDMI Mini to HDMI on TV port 3 (States HDMI\DVI) on Vizio TV.
8. Nvision kit. Emitter and glasses.
9. Cyberlink PowerNVIDIA_3DTV_Play_Support_Update_1.0.0.12DVD 10.
I am not able to run 3D Stereoscopic setup using my 3D TV. It’s weird, when I initialize Stereoscopic 3D setup wizard it starts with the listed requirements but my mouse goes dead. My keyboard tab won’t work either. I can hit “Escape” on keyboard. Previously I had an Acer 3D monitor and it worked with Dual DVI to monitor and the Blu-Ray playing a 3D movie. Also the game Mafia II in 3D. They looked good with Nvidia glasses and emitter acted properly. (Went bright green as described). Probably not relevant but I do have a Vizio 3D Blu-Ray VBR334 that works OK with the Vizio 3D TV. Oh and my Xbox 360 works in 3D on Black Ops. I want to play 3D games on PC.
I even did a clean install of drivers and same thing.
I am scratching my head. I read all the stuff about 3DPlay software but I don’t think I need it with Cyberlink being 3D and it did play on the Acer 3D monitor using DVI. I am beginning to question whether the HDMI cable (It is Nvision cable that came with 480) won’t work) I am noob so maybe I didn’t explain it too well. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,

Did you installed the usb drivers for the 3d vision emitter ?

When I tried before to configure my glasses, I was in the setup configurator but told me that my usb drivers was not installed !

Try downloading the usb drivers from nvidia website here :

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

I reinstalled USB, it said I had them and gave option to overwrite driver, I said yes, installed, no change.
Still lose mouse and keyboard use when I click run 3d setup wizard. Thank you for trying to help.

Things just happen during an instal that causes issues. I would try to remove everything, and try a clean instal again. Nvidia has made it easy to instal 3d vision drivers by putting everything on a single "full cd" which will do everything needed to have 3d vision up and running with minimal work on your part. Some times you have to instal the drivers one by one even with the full cd so that maybe something you will need to do. If i remember right the order is Geforce drivers> stereoscopic drivers (includes usb driver)> Run stereoscopic setup in the nvidia control panel.

Yes, that is what I am doing. Unfortunately when I uninstalled Nvidia drivers and rebooted the HDMI on 480 was not recognized so I had no video. I held power button to force off, switched to HDMI on MOBO, rebooted, still nothing. I had to remove 480 from PCI entirely. I read up on what you said but cannot find 260 driver for CD install. (I am 64 bit Win 7 BTW) So now I have the issue where I am trying to reinstall 260 driver without 480 and it will not install because it cannot find 480. As I said when I have 480 in it is not recognized on HDMI on Monitor. Any ideas? I'm kinda stuck. I wish I had not returned my DVI monitor, Ill bet it would have come up on that. I will reinsert 480 and try vga on TV & mobo.

Sorry, i didnt look up your monitor befor posting this but if you recived a dual link dvi cable then use this first and see if you can enable 3d vision that way firstly, i would then try for hdmi second once you can confirm that your parts are all in working order.

Have you had 3d vision working befor and this is a new issue?
do you have the tv set to accept the signal given by the gc (not sure exactly but like over/under, left/right,checkerboard-something like that)
Is your tv on the Nvidia compatibity list?
Are you using hdmi 1.4a cables (if needed-idk just asking)

I don't have the 3D Acer monitor I had before.
On that monitor I did have 3D Vision working properly over dual link DVI using this computer.
I wanted bigger screen so I took back ACER to get this Visio 3D HDTV.
On Nvidia site it lists my TV when using an update for 3DTV play. (Of course the update loaded but I think it is not compatible with 260 drivers)
That could be the problem with the wizard.
I can connect all my MOBO connections to this TV, HDMI, VGA, and DVI to HDMI on TV using conversion cable.
I think you are right about this TV being new will not run over HDMI to HDMI 3D,
I am using the Nvidia mini to HDMI that is supposed to be 1.4.
I just cannot get this TV to recognize the 480 and I think it is because I originally got it going over DVI.
So then the HDMI would work over 2D HDMI but not 3D.
I probably should have left it alone.
At least I could play games 2D.
Oh well, bleeding edge bruises.
Thanks again for all of your help.

I have the same television and just ordered a 560 Ti to use with 3DTV Vision and the TV's native glasses. Has this issue been resolved?
