OK. You are another person who has had these setting fail. Not enough detail to get any correlations though- no hardware spec, and OS version. Knowing that it fails is a good tidbit, but we can't solve any problems without details. This is why a forum signature is useful.

I've been puzzled why so many are still having problems running this game in SLI/3D after I posted instructions in this thread. It was only after I freed up Vram by using Reshade to handle MSAA and started to up my settings that things rapidly came off the rails. So as a supplement to my earlier advice of using DX10.1 and AFR2 here is a copy of my settings.xml file which goes into folder C:\Users\yourpcnamehere\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V If you are having problems with loading into windowed mode instead of fullscreen or getting settings to stick then make the settings file read only in properties. (I find it easier to make changes manually then again maybe todays patch might fix some things.) Obviously the file needs to be renamed after you've backed up and then deleted your own settings file. I hope this helps as this game is awesome in 3D and should have no issues whatsoever with these settings. Ultimately it would be nice if our resident Gurus can fix it to run in DX11 and many thanks for their work here once again. I tried both Flowbee_602's settings and bo3b's settings, and neither of them solve my problem. My problem seems to be the most common problem here: I am able to start the game in 3D, but after about 5 minutes of gametime, the 3D effect suddenly disappears. I'm still able to change the convergence/depth settings, as the screen stretches and narrows when I adjust those settings. It seems like it starts to render for only one eye? Alt+entering, then alt+entering again fixes the problem for another few minutes, but then all shadows, reflections, and many other objects start to render at the incorrect depth. Alt+entering again after that does not fix the problem again. I tried the Max Payne 3 settings, both DX10.1 and DX11, the settings.xml above, just about all different levels of quality (took a while....), Vsync on and off, and completely wiping / re-installing my drivers. Nothing I've tried will fix it. I'm using Win7.1, i7-920@3.8GHz, GTX 980, 18GB RAM, and an Acer HN274H (@1080p120Hz). I made an official ticket on Rockstar Support, and linked it to this thread too. Hopefully others with this problem all make tickets on Rockstar to raise the visibility of the problem to Rockstar and Nvidia....

Been through this thread to try to fix my 3D problems. No luck. Single card only - no SLI. Using Windows 10. I originally tried 3D with a GTX 760. Ran into the usual problems of bad shadows, etc. Fixed those by rebooting the PC after changing any graphics settings. Weird artefacts and CTD seem to be fixed after a clean reboot. Zeroyon04, sorry but my solution is for SLI and Nvidia3D only. Non SLI in my experience is far easier. I have seen these problems before but they were due to a sync/registry type problem due to changes in both NVCP and NVInspector conflicting. A fresh driver reload fixed them. I would advise against making profile changes in NVInspector if you want to fix this problem. I would reload driver 350.12 and then use my settings file making sure it is read only and reflects what ever card you are using in the last couple of lines. As soon as I started using higher settings bits of 3D started failing and this wasn't because of a lack of Vram. I intend to move to a single GTX980 as soon as I can afford it but meanwhile I have no idea what issues it has in store.

I am using SLI 980, but it does not make a difference actually, I was "accidentally" running a single card after updating to the latest nvidia drivers and it was the same problem. As others have mentioned, performance is micro-stuttery as well in 3DV, but in 2D it is perfectly fluid. I will post a Rockstar support ticket as well.

Randomly crashes the game. In the event log at this moment appears warning "Nvlddmkm video driver stopped responding and has been successfully restored". The game crashes every 3-10 minutes. I decided to switch from DirectX 11 to DirectX 10 and it helped me. I think the problem is DirectX or last patch from Nvidia Configuration i7-4770K GTX 780 Ti 8GB RAM Windows 8.1 64 Bit

Something is defo broken in the 3D Vision driver lately... For me the only mode which still works correctly is SLI/Surround (where the GPUs are in a mixed mode named Mosaic Mode so is not exactly SLI). I also noticed this weird behaviour of drivers not working correctly in other areas as well (like the OpenGL-DirectX Interoop Layer) and other games as well... I really hope someone from Nvidia is reading and investigate this issue... It all started with from the 340.x branch... Previously the driver was solid... For people with 500, 600, 700 series you could try the 337.88 driver (which is my fail-safe driver) http://www.nvidia.co.uk/download/driverResults.aspx/76094/en-uk

A little while after upating to 350.12 I got a new power config profile added, maybe that has something to do with it? Try reconfiguring your power profile perhaps.
A little while after upating to 350.12 I got a new power config profile added, maybe that has something to do with it?

Try reconfiguring your power profile perhaps.

Anyone noticed that the LOD of objects ( mostly grass but can also be others such as a bucket etc. ) is sometimes rendered wrong for each eye?
