Ghosting even on setup wizard?
Hi guys. I bought 3D vision the other day to go with my LG 3D monitor. Even on the setup wizard though, where you see the hexagon and the blue triangle, I can see 90% of what I should be, but I can still see 10% of the "other" image. I would have thought that in this setup wizard, made by nVidia... that the 3D would be at its best. In other games I see ghosting heavily, except Burnout Paradise and Metro 2033 and TrackMania Canyon whose 3D is impeccable. Why am I having such issues? The monitor is 3D and I know that there are ghosting issues with 3D Vision but mine are very obvious if you go beyond 1% depth, so I'm playing most things with the 3D turned so far down that its practically off.

Really difficult to say. You might try plugging the emitter into a different USB port. You can also try changing the infrared environment settings in the setup wizard.

So I went back to the store and got another pair of glasses. They seemed to have already been opened and were in an older style packaging but they were replacement glasses so I didn't moan. But I am now in the same position. I have ghosting even on the setup screen. I have tried in multiple USB ports. In the "game" screenshots after the setup, you can see heavy ghosting. I still see ghosting in the Green Hexagon / Blue Triangle test. If I close one eye, I see 100% of one eye and 5% of the other eye. It's not a lot, but it's enough to be distracting and headache inducing in-game. Surely this isn't how it's supposed to be ? I appreciate some games are made without 3D Vision in mind and may suffer from problems but nVidia 3D Vision Setup Wizard should display 3D correctly, no? How likely is it to be my monitor? It was bought new recently and its an LG W2363D.

Maybe your convergence is maxed out? Try playing with the convergence setting. Because there is no overlay, it's hard to tell whether the setting is maxed or not. You may have inadvertently adjusted it higher without even knowing. Another possibility is your cable, a mediocre cable (cheap) will sometimes exibit random problems. The cable could also be picking up interferance. You are not using an excessively long cable are you?
