Hi,
the simpliest possibility for 3D stereo is use of 3D shutterglasses (e-dimensional, wired or wireless). With this glasses is possible 3D stereo on 1 CRT monitor.
3D stereo on 2 monitors (2048x768 85 Hz) is possible with use of Matrox DualHead2Go adapters and its software.
I use 2048x768 dual DLP projector setup with this glasses (for flight sims) and this setup is absolutly bombastic.
For 1 monitor is glasses and CRT enough.

MMMM second crt was free!. ohh plus i don't know about expensive 1,000 dollar each lcds, but the LCDS ive seen don't do colour right.
It can become problematic with graphic designing, i've had a case at work where a LCD screen showed a colour, it was printed and it was soo far from base it had to be reprinted (and designed on a CRT).
and why would my graphics card want me to get lcds ? :P
ps. guys thanks for kinda helping?.
but i'm interested in the setup involving 2 monitors using a mirror.
fairly sure my graphics card doesnt have the shutter control thing for shutter glasses.
and i have two monitors here, i heard it was possible to use 2 monitors and a mirror? (without glasses).
this is what i want to try the most, as it only costs a mirror... which has other uses if i give up on 3d.

i dont know what world your living in bojo 17inch LCD's cost $300+ here in Australia brand new retail price and colour and quality is 100times better then CRT's

im living in the world of CRT's in general being alot nicer in colour, and none of that gray/black stuff.
but that's beside the point, the CRT was free.
i mean we can go on and on here, but unless you are going to pay 600 dollars and send me 2 17" LCD's i don't see much point.
Maybe you could help with my questions?.
PS. as i said from business relations, it seems CRT's have nicer colour. Hell there's lots of articles on CRT vs LCD. so im not sure what world you live in mate.

lol well i can't answer your question but i bet you wouldn't have this problem if those CRT's were LCD's.
Someone else read this and tell me whats better with Quality CRT's or LCD's as i plugged my CRT in today to help out another guy on the forums with a problem and it was a real ugly site, I use nothing but CRT's at work and that's all they are good for.

CRT's: Bigger, ugly, pump it up to 70% even 100% to get a decent amount of brightness, game quality is like PS1 on a 34cm TV, great for work purposes.
LCD's: Expensive but not like they used to be, pump it up to nomore then 40% to get a really bright screen, cyrstal clear image, smaller, lighter, wall mountable, can easily get dead dark or bright pixels but look after them and they are ok, can also burn the image to the screen if the screen is unattended without a motion screensaver after a long period of time.
i dont understand what you mean when you say LCD's dont do colour right with
gray/black stuff.
Your Graphics card ain't having alot of fun /fear.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':fear:' />

The Dual Monitor method you're talking about with the mirror needs a "front surface" or "first Surface" mirror, the CrystalCanyons page is great for showing approximate sizes and layout of the monitors/mirror. Normal mirrors just screwed up the picture a bit in my experience.
One thing to remember- it doesn't work too well with curved or different sized monitors. The nVidia Stereo3D drivers do support this method. It is, I believe, slightly less supported than the likes of Shutterglasses.

i have a 6600GT with 256mb ram in it (or whatever you say, i'm probably wrong with terms there).
it has a dvi out, and vga as well as svideo.
Im using 2 crt's, both VGA's (with an adaptor cable on the dvi out). And i've got my desktop runnign quite nicely at 1240X1024 pixels. (span).
so how do i set up my pc to work with stereo3d?.
it seems i need a mirror?. but what kind? what size? all this is vague?.
link to a guide for dual-monitors with mirror would be great.
thanks.
ps. do the monitors need to be flat screens?

i managed to get sum pretty awesome looking guns and fire hydrants in counterstrike source.
however doing this makes the hud and crosshairs go wacko?. that normal.
the guns take my breathe away, even his arms are impressive, but the life stuff goes funky munky.

Let me know if it helps.
Thanks.
