Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure - 3DV Info and Feedback Thread
Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure - This is a pretty snazzy game (Yeah I said Snazzy) like other games with the "Unity" Engine, Out-of-the-box 3D Vision looks decent, although usually, unplayable. This is the case here, fire up the game and the intro is all 2D cinematics (Awesome though flying over the futuristic city in your hover-car), Then upon reaching the menu, a brick building, your hopes soar, looked great in 3D! Start the game, and with all settings maxed and the FOV option set to 70, you get fairly clean, although "Tunnel Vision" like 3D - Convergence dialed back and the problems became apparent when looking towards the corner of the room, the light source produces haloing and other ghosting issues, turn away from the light source and 3D is perfect. So, I tried the NV Inspector Profile Fix first, starting with Aion, and at first I was very pleased, then couldn't quite get things lined up.. So, went over to the Prototype 2 Profile, this fixes things quite nicely, until you move yourself or the camera view, then you get some nasty flickering as if v-sync was off or set wrong, but changing these settings in game or in NVCP, renders no useful info or fix. Tried Prototype 1, same deal, if you stand still, it's perfect - weird one.. Anyone have a tweak or info to share on this one? I'm warning anyone interested in grabbing this game as a download, it is just shy of 17GB's (Mostly due to Cinematics I'm sure, but haven't played long enough to get the full gist of things) Thanks for reading! P.S. Also, thanks to those in Helix's camp and others like them for making 3D gaming a part time hobby and a lifelong obsession! - Long live S3D! ~Nutz
It's 1 dollar in the Humble Bundle. Best adventure game ever!
Yeah, I enjoyed it! It was tough to find a sweet spot with regards to 3DV - But it was different and quite a fun story to play through! For 1$ maybe some others will feel inclined to tweak the 3D aspect of things, if so, I would play through it again. I'm glad somebody else enjoyed it as much as I did. ~Nutz

OK, you got me. I need more games like a need a hole in the head, but can't pass up SR4 with our 3D fix, and the "best adventure game ever". Thanks for sharing the tip.
