Yeah, to add my further 2c, my card is a 580 and my performance takes a massive hit in 3D mode (as well as the aforementioned graphical errors which are still occurring). Getting a sub-par frame rate even on Medium quality.

Logan seems happy, yes it must be a problem or certain cards then
( gtx 580's )

Mate I'm sick to death of these driver issues with these high end games. BF3, Batman AC, JC2, etc all these games require gpu usage to be in the 90+% mark to run at 60fps with all settings on high. Instead we get 60% gpu usage and piss poor fps. Why do we bother buying SLI 580s and 3d vision if we can't utilize a 100% of the gpus power?
Seriously, 3D users need to pay more attention to their gpu utilization, most demanding games are suffering because of this.
If Nvidia want to continue to build equity in 3d vision, they will need to get there drivers right. Eg. BF3 in 2d, my gpus are pegged at 98% usage- fantastic! But 3d, it keeps fluctuating from 90% down to 60%. When they are at 90% the fps are a solid 60. And it's a catch 22, I u lower the settings, gpu usage also drops as it doesn't require that much power to run.
Andrew can you please confirm that you can reproduce these issues and something will be done about it?????

Still happy. Been playing since 3:30pst btw my settings are all maxed except only 2xaa and blur is off. Most of the time frames are 60 but dip down into the 40's (which I don't notice in game) forgot to say this is all multi player. Changed my fov to 90, and don't notice any stretching.

You need to clarify what the problem is and better yet, list your specs in your sig. Pretty sure you are running 3D Vision Surround and maybe even 3-way SLI which is a completely different beast than 3D Vision and adds a whole host of potential problems and compatibility issues.
Fact of the matter is, performance and GPU utlizition for BF3 is right where it is and should be for BF3 for normal 3D Vision users, even in SLI. My GPUs are running 85-95% the entire time while 3D Vision is enabled.

What FPS were you getting in 2D? What's your GPU utilization and FPS in 3D? A single 580 is probably not enough to play this game at playable levels in 3D, but we're talking about poor utilization on 2 and 3 card set-ups, which would be a sign of driver issues. A single GPU running at 100% utilization and getting poor framerates in this game doesn't tell us anything other than a single GPU isn't enough to play this game in 3D Vision at high framerates, which really wouldn't be much of a surprise since a single 580 only gets ~50FPS with Ultra settings in 2D.

I find it really hard to belive you are getting that gpu usage with sli 580s in BF3, let alone any game in 3d vision. Im running sli 580s, 980x at 4.5mhz, ssd, etc, etc. all watercooled. single screen.
Chiz my gpu usage is shocking. up and down. Im running latest beta drivers, win 7 64 bit. In 2d my gpu usage is pegged at 95%+, its only in 3d it drops down. In bf3, batman, jc2, most demanding games. Come to think of it, there is no game which utilises 90%+ in gpu usage whilst in 3d.

Its 480 SLI and it shouldn't be hard to believe at all, I have no reason to lie about something so trivial but here's a screenshot for you anyways. /rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> You can clearly see GPU usage is 85+%, only drops when I alt-tabbed out to take the screenshot.
If you are getting lowered GPU utilization in 3D for some games, the reason should be obvious, because you are achieving capped 60FPS per eye and the extra GPU overhead goes unused. This is the same as enabling Vsync and capping framerates, and thus reducing GPU utilization. It could also be a symptom of being CPU limited, but that's probably not true in your case.
You're probably not capping 60FPS per eye though with BF3 though because its quite possibly the most demanding game to-date, similar to Metro2033 with its GPU requirements. I also was not able to max that game out at 60FPS per eye in 3D with max DX11 settings, so I was forced to settle for DX9 High settings. This game is in a similar position.
If you're getting weird performance you may want to try reducing your overclock and making sure your build is stable. You can also try disabling HyperThreading as that's known to have caused some odd problems with Frostbite 1/2 in the past.

I’ve just played BF3 for the 1st time yesterday in 3D, I didn’t want to buy this game till DICE released the 3D patch.
What I can say about my 1st experience playing BF3 is: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW
WTF was that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No words can explain, is just so realistic that I though I was playing a game from the future, it’s AMAZING!!!!!!!
It’s definatelly a 3D Ready game, I haven’t noticed any gliteches or bugs at all, just perfect 3D, totally 3D Ready Title, way to go DICE!!!!!!
COD series now became a joke compared to BF3. Wake up Activision…
playable
I played BF3 with all settings at Ultra and the AA maximized 1080p120hz 3Dvision. I got an average of 40fps, but sometimes would drop to 30, and others go to 50-60fps. But 80% of the time it was 35-40fps. It's not really smooth for this kind of game, but very playable.
I prefer to sacrifice performance over graphics quality.
The game is very well optimized I thought and I've played for 2 or 3 hours and didn't see any 3D issues, and no crashes like some folks have reported in this thread. DICE did a great job..

Cheers johny

Way better than Crysis 2 both in 3d and in game.

You need to clarify what the problem is and better yet, list your specs in your sig. Pretty sure you are running 3D Vision Surround and maybe even 3-way SLI which is a completely different beast than 3D Vision and adds a whole host of potential problems and compatibility issues.
Fact of the matter is, performance and GPU utlizition for BF3 is right where it is and should be for BF3 for normal 3D Vision users, even in SLI. My GPUs are running 85-95% the entire time while 3D Vision is enabled.

Not true. My 580 absolutely chugs to an unplayable level in 3D vision mode, even when I drop the settings down. Using the latest beta drivers, Win7 x64

Chiz i have no problem with gpu usage in 2d, 98% on both. That screenshot is 2d, what is your gpu usage in 3d? Also single seems ok but try caspian on mp.
