Vision3D on a Geforce 8600GT Problem with IR transmitter
Please help! I'm getting very tired of this! I've just spent hundreds of Euros, ordered the 3D Vision kit from Amazon and got myself a brand new 120Hz display in addition, only to find out that after hours of try and error I can still not get anything to work. The problem is quite obvious: The IR transmitter only turns green for a few seconds after connecting it, then the light stays off completely. Hence it is not synchronized with the 3D glasses, hence the whole 3D testing fails.
I already know that the stereo driver must fit to the graphics driver. I started by installing the most recent driver for my 8600 GT, then found that this doesn't include the stereo driver for the IR transmitter, so I had to install that on its own.
Obviously the stereo 3D drivers are not updated by Nvidia to keep pace with Nvidia's 8600 GT driver. The most recent stereo 3D driver I found was 6.14.12.6081 from 9/30/2010, while the 8600 GT driver is from March 1st. So since that caused the problem I described above, I switched my 8600 GT driver to 8.17.12.5896 from 7/9/2010. But although the 8600 GT driver is now no longer younger than the stereo 3D driver that way, nothing has changed at all: The IR transmitter still goes off after a few seconds.
What is the proper combination of 8600 GT driver and 3D stereo driver I have to install? I cannot be trying all kinds of permutations here, and honestly, this is supposed to be much much simpler. Can Nvidia not simply provide a full package for everything with the most recent drivers that work together?
