DOOM (2016) - 3D Vision Fix

I am not planning to play this game right now. I am testing a "non-official" version of the game, so I thought the fix would still work in this version. Is even 50% off now on Steam, so I definitely recommend buying it;)
The "completely different time" is not completely different. At 120 FPS raw input the delta T is 8 milliseconds. Your brain can't perceive this small offset in time, especially if the images keep on changing. Other latency problems are introduced when people use EDID overrides or other muxing equipment like the GeoBox thing and the likes and that is a problem on it's own.
Thanks for your answer. I don't use an EDID override. 3D Vision runs in generic CRT mode. (different Geobox model from Metaloholic, mine has DisplayPort) The display latency isn't an issue in this case, what the Geobox does is similar to the internal processing of a passive 3DTVs, it converts the frame sequential input into the proper (synchronous) output required for dual-projectors. You'd get the same issue if you used a passive 3DTV with 3DTV play. By the way the Geobox can also use side by side (actually I prefer SBS full ratio : 3840x1080, less input lag, no issues with V-sync). I have never tested an 8ms time offset, but I have enough experience with 16ms time offsets between the eyes from when I used to connect the dual-projectors directly to the computer on my previous AMD card. When I didn't configure Eyefinity properly and frame-lock did not activate (same game time but the output scan is not synchronous with a random offset anywhere between 0~16ms), then when I first got the Geobox and tried AMD HD3D, a driver bug caused a constant 1-frame lag (16ms) Whenever the eye views are not properly synchronized, at 16ms I can't watch any content in motion. Even with a halving of the time offset, I doubt the issue would disappear. The problem is not time related, it's motion related. Because the display is synchronous, with a render time offset, any object in motion will jump in depth relative to the rest of the scene and becomes extremely difficult to focus on. Camera pans are even worse, they shift the entire scene in depth (breaks all 3D effect instantly and it takes a second or two to recover your bearings). The amount of jumping and shifting depends on motion multiplied by the time offset. Since Doom is a fast paced, constantly moving first person shooter, it's pretty much the worst possible case scenario. So that means no Doom in 3D for me... :-( Anyway, thanks for everything you are doing for the community. I just hope someday you'll find a way to make the wrapper render synchronously.

You pretty much nailed it;) Is the damn horizontal parallax that makes you "sick" if you change the view fast enough;). Now, playing with a controller is OK, since you can't move that fast around anyway. With the mouse+ keyboard is totally different. It also falls down to how much tolerant you are to motion sickness. Before ruling it out, at least give it a try and see:) If is not for you, is not for you:) At least you tried;) Doubt I will ever make the wrapper render synchronous as I don't have the time to do that on my own (nor do I feel particularly motivated to invest thousands of hours into it tbh;) It works for me as I never had any motion sickness problems ^_^ and other people seem to have no issue as well. So... Is 50%- 50% chances:) Multiplayer and Snapy thingy wasn't properly fixed anyway. Just the Single Player campaign, so that fast movement can be avoided - if you know what you are doing;)) )

I suffer from chronic motion sickness in video games (since I have played in 3d, much less so now, ironically) I don't get it in this game, regardless and FPS are always the biggest culprit for me.

i'm downloading the game and i'll try the fix in a few hours. i'll try 3DSurround on it of course :) thanks to 'Flawless widescreen' @helifax : you are right, 7680 x 1440 is VERY demanding using 3DSurround, especially in "open world games" like Watchdogs 1 or GTA5. With no 3DVision, games are perfectly fluid but TITAN PASCAL is lacking power with 3DSurround 1440p. Games are 15/20 FPS (The forest, GTA5) i think a secondary card should be nice and just perfect, but of course, i'm a little short of money^^ For LIFE IS STRANGE, or ALIEN ISOLATION, it's absolutely PERFECT with 3DSurround, because environments are closed. it's a real pleasure.

Doesn't seem to be working for me. Increasing depth makes things look very weird. It's like objects get cut in half or something. 980Ti and Win10 here.
