A good starting point is to make sure 3D Vision is enabled right before launching the game regardless of driver version. If you update drivers you will end up with 3D Vision disabled until you enable it.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
Ok...apparently re-installing it on Steam made it work. Full 3D Surround glory! AWESOME!
PS: at full stereo separation and strength I see some weird shadows;)) hmm its not perfect...
The game does get some weird shadow/lighting effects,but at 50 or 70 % it's pretty playable.. :)
So far I have only tried using a single monitor connected by dual-link DVI running at 120hz 1080p.
Latest drivers 310.70 and 3D Vision enabled.
I then finally got it to work on my ASUS VG278H.
To summarize, tested single monitor, single driver version, 120hz.
Latest version of the game.
I had no luck changing the registry before it started working properly.
From reading this thread it seems like it could be picky wether to work or not.

wahts my mistake?
Control + T to turn 3dvision off and on...
Hard to tell what your doing wrong on this side... :)
ok i got it on steam sale yesterday.
3d vision is checkable for me -> sadly the game has some serious rendering errors,
not really recommended imo
? it's almost 3dvision ready for me on 50% depth...
Not recomended ...? isn't that to harsh ?

It's all very subjective,
I don't have a fresh screenshot available so I will refer to one you posted earlier.

Check the lightning on the roofs in left eye image which is very different from
lightning in right eye. The lightning on the red "balls" are also quite different between eyes.
My take is that there are shaders that are not behaving well in 3D.
There is no way to explain these differences as the correct way to render 3D.
Have you noticed how the 3D setting is somewhat inverse to what you expect.
The lower one is depth and the top one changes convergence.
Ended up with fairly low depth and high convergence when trying our settings.
I have so far played less than an hour.

Playing alot of Farcry :)
When I have time, then I will play some more and post more pics,so people can judge for themselfs.

AFAIK that's because it is not native quad buffered 3D on nVidia. It is the 3D vision driver which is converting it to 3D even though the Stereoscopic option is enabled in the game. That's why it only has a rating of fair or whatever instead of 3D Vision Ready. The in-game option simply represents whether 3D Vision driver mode conversion is on or off. It doesn't make the game natively render 3D. On AMD the game outputs quad buffered stereoscopic 3D natively.
DOOM 3 BFG is an example of a game that natively supports both AMD and nVidia quad buffered output without any TriDef/3D Vision conversion.

So can we activate 3D mode using the 3DTV 310.70 drivers from Nvidia? I still want to play this game on my TV in my living roomm and wasn't able to check the 3D option in the settings.

i dont know how it works for you - but for me almost everything is rendered wrong in this game.
all the lighning is broken, the fog is broken, shadows are broken -
you cant even disable stuff to get rid of this...
its one of the worst games ive seen in 3d vision

im not at home right now - will post screens as soon as possible.
the fog has the same wrong distance effect like in assassins creed revelations when you enable 3d fog.
dont know if you have the game - but the 3D fog feature in revelations is broken and it looks exactly like in hitman.
the shadows seem fine most of the time but there are some levels where they look like in skyrim without helx mod fix.
