RE5 - No convergence...

Well I fixed my problem. All I had to do was change the name of my HDMI3 input on the TV to PC. Kinda weird that it would make a difference but someone else said that eliminated their ghosting problem. It worked for me too. Wow I'm really happy about this. Now I can go back and try all those other games that didn't work. I hope someone else finds this information helpful.

Yeah its pretty weird , also try putting your samsung led backlight to minimum that helps reduce ghosting

The game has way too much noticeable ghosting for me when at 100%... which is really the only way i'd play it... guess i'll have to wait for NV and capcom to take their heads out of each others asses and allow us to set convergence... also NFS crap is pissed me off a bunch too... I can't justify telling my buddies to buy these kits when the new and good games come out and nvidia doesn't even make the effort the come here at let us know that "HEY... MORONS... we're working on the drivers to support those... expect them in x amount of time" or "Don't bother with that one because we're just not going to support it at all"

Frustrated to hell with this

Seems that there is a bit of pop out in certain cinematic. Nothing to write home about in that regard. I have to say though, the cinematic look awesome in 3d regardless. I am enjoying RE5 very much. I hope that Capcom continues to make all of their PC games 3d ready. /thumbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
It does, but how does it work, then stop working?? It makes no sense.

I'm re-installing Windows (I'm using Windows 7 RTM x64). I'm going to try Vista x86 and see how we go.

I work for a retailer, been selling these by the truck load! Hopefully I can find the issue so I can help my customers, NVIDIA won't help us tho! I'm the one spending 10's of hours on it!
have you seen any difference after going from 7 to Vista? I also have the 2233RZ with exact problem..... have to turn depth all the way down in RE5 to have no ghosting

Never mind this game, it sucks anyways. That locked convergence-thingy, must be the dumbest mistake ever. For what got' damn reason? There are NONE. They could have locked it in a perfect world, but the game is full of ghosting at every depth possible except the very lowest range which in effect kills.. the 3D effect. And they call the title 3D Vision Enabled! Hah! Batman runs far better than RE5 and still only have a Nvidia-rating of "good", not even "excellent". If ghosting, background at wrong depth, and weird smoke, is what "3D Vision Enabled" stands for I'll sure as hell never buy one of thoose games again. However, I can't stand the fact that one have so lousy control over the character that I'm thinking of not playing it anymore. I can't even strafe while aiming and by default, the main action-keys are so far to the other end of my keyboard that I had to extend my fingers with a couple of pencils and rubberbands.

Moreover, am I the only one that have a somewhat gradual mouse sensitivity? When I move just a little, the respons is ok, even a little bit too fast. But when I want to move a lot, like swapping direction or turn around corners, I find myself out of mousepad for the field of movement I have to do. And when aiming, the guy lags behind by up to a second even with vsync disabled.

as critical as i feel towards nvidia and Capcom for locking the convergence ( mainly capcom?) the game has absolutely NO ghosting on my setup

So if your experiencing ghosting its from you not having a good setup

if i ever have ghosting its so slight compared to other emulated games that its hardly noticeable

NV Said that they were working on unlocking the convergence in the future

and ive played the game multiple times on ps3 , compared to nvidia 3dvision full res on pc , its quite a game , in fact i want to beat it multiple more times because of the great experience im having playing it

I have very slight ghosting, but overall it looks amazing. (I am pretty good at ignoring ghosting anyway)

I am actually quite pleased with the game and the 3d effect, especially with a little extra depth thrown in.

LOL ! Look at this joke.

This guy is talking about Re5 and makes it sound as though there ARE pop out effects..

What a clown, why embarrass yourself like that ? His article is the crappiest thing ever.

And yes, I'm still mad you can't adjust convergence:P

Actually in this case the joke is on you, I quote from the link you provided.
Other than that the game looks great with S3D, unfortunately with not that much pop-out of the screen effect… unless of course you increase the depth level more, when things will improve a bit.
Try reading everything he said.

Interesting how in the blog it states capcom made the convergence level and it SHOULD be fine with users of the 22 inch model 3d sammy

and he says that that particular convergence setting may be Optimal for the 22 but not the bigger screens , i use a 61 inch dlp 3d sammy

can anyone confirm more pop out effect using the 22 inch syncmaster compared to the sammy dlp?

Undeaddevil, this is how the bloger ENDED his article:

"But the holy grail of 3D is 'Out-of-Screen' effects (although a bit more tiring for the eyes and the brain), and Resident Evil 5 is among the first games to exploit out-of-screen effects, making thrown objects and zombie blood appear as if they are literally popping out of the screen."

He clearly states that there ARE out-of-screen effects (no have to correct myself, the effects were even "exploited" by capcom according to the blogger!) and that the effects are so numbered that one can even write a LIST of them: "thrown objects, zombie blood". However, I haven't seen one single out-of-screen effect and by the judge of this forum I don't think noone else has either. Try reading everything he said. Heh.. I guess joke's on you.

nhoj333: I have a 22' Samsung. No pop-outs =) Have you seen any on your big screen?
