I'm still having the same problem with the latest GTAV patch: 3D just dies after about 3~5 minutes, and I can't get it back without breaking the shaders. I can't rollback to 331.82 since I am on a single GTX 980. I posted a ticket describing the problem in detail to Rockstar support 2 weeks ago. They sent one reply basically saying "sorry that your game is crashing, try the newest patch and see if it fixes it".... although I never said that my game was crashing, and I have been replying with updates that the problem isn't fixed with each new patch. I haven't heard from Rockstar Support in my open ticket now for 12 days. I'm really disappointed... >_< :(

Just wanted to add my results into the mix: Frames Per Second (Higher is better) Min, Max, Avg Pass 0, 20.013231, 96.359810, 30.176643 Pass 1, 7.334550, 87.838608, 36.056526 Pass 2, 23.350988, 93.556709, 30.829151 Pass 3, 25.173462, 89.885620, 33.690140 Pass 4, 8.764235, 92.626366, 40.208878 That's running in 3d surround. The only problem I've noticed is that the menu flickers, but everything in game looks fine. Also, the game is actually playing 'smoother' in 3d because the frame rate is generally ~ 30fps which I find very playable. In 2d the stutters were very noticeable as the framerate hitched. Results for 2d: Frames Per Second (Higher is better) Min, Max, Avg Pass 0, 13.253173, 122.478096, 62.126637 Pass 1, 40.549965, 135.743866, 76.051643 Pass 2, 39.339317, 102.844498, 71.951180 Pass 3, 39.603462, 122.529182, 70.618279 Pass 4, 10.039782, 164.488403, 76.399361

It just happened to have been around shortly after my current GPUs were made available. The important thing for me was that it was prior to 3D compatibility mode being introduced, which to me signified an abandonment of true stereoscopic 3D. The point I've been trying to make here, is that no matter what driver you have at the moment, GTA V won't run in 3D for the vast majority of people without some kind of problem, although there are very notable exceptions who have managed to find a combination of settings that has worked for them with this game. No one should have to resort to rolling back to get any game working in 3D, and I'm sorry that you're having to even consider it. Just for your information, bo3b created this very useful driver reference thread that enables you to compare and contrast different display drivers. That very first post is updated regularly. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/777954/3d-vision/suggested-driver-to-use-/ I'd imagine that Rockstar are being inundated with tickets from those having problems in 2D. As 3D gamers are a comparatively small subset of the total number of gamers out there, it's vital to co-ordinate efforts all the more effectively. I'll just keep on linking straight back to this thread on my ticket each and every time after every single update, until these issues are solved. As it stands at the moment, I'd be very surprised indeed if anybody at Rockstar can get this game working well in 3D either.

Hey, For them 3D gods here: Is it possible to create separate convergence presets for on foot, driving, flying etc.? Also,I'm looking forward to buy a GTX 970 and I was wondering if the VRAM hits that 3.5GB limit? If yes does the stuttering noticeable? I know it's off topic, but let's make it a 2in1: Is it noticeable in 2D? Also is a single 970 enough for maxed out 3D in 1080p DSR to 720p? I'm using 1080p DSR on my 3D LED TV,if anyone is interested just import this guy's attached EDID using CRU:https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/809855/3d-vision/how-to-get-dsr-with-almost-any-projector-monitor/ Sorry for the novel I just wrote, but I post like only 1 comment per year:)

@Pirateguybrush Has using Maxpayne3's profile worked for you in preventing shadows rendering in 2D, assuming that you're using that profile, and has the text display issue been corrected in your case, but not the grass? An open question is, has it worked for everyone? @Laast Prior to the release of GTA V for PC, is it being assumed that Rockstar were using another game's profile in order to get their own game working in 3D? Yet upon release of their own profile, supposedly optimised by driver 350.12, it still isn't working properly? A rather odd state of affairs, if that's the case.

The same for shaders in stereo 3D. It may work perfectly on a professional system and may be broken once running on a consumer GPU with a regular driver. And again I think it's up to nvidia to solve the problem, Rockstar's shaders and effects are OK in stereo 3D.

@ToThePoint - I haven't done much testing at all, really. From what I could tell, removing the profile fixed the text in one eye issue. MP3 didn't seem to grant any additional benefit. But I've not tested it very thoroughly.

I'll assume bo3b, doesn't have the budget that Rockstar has. So what's their excuse? I won't go as far as to say that NVidia don't care about us 3D gamers, but we are a pretty low priority. In these circumstances, informing NVidia, via the developer that everything is not rosy would be a more productive approach, again, under these circumstances. I've hardly ever seen an NVidia moderator or advisor here. In some ways that's great in that we moderate ourselves. Nevertheless, the first question I'd have to ask them is "Excuse me asking, but are you lost?"
That is a driver's problem. Using Maxpayne3 profile fixes everything (excepted grass above normal). Using MP3 profile causes the shaders to break or the game to crash within 15 minutes without fail. On default GTA5 profile I can play for an hour at least usually, if they break at all.
