Well, i was finally able to get my projector working in 3D (sort of). I haven't loaded up all my games yet and only tried NFS Shift, but its working! My impressions so far...
Negatives
Only 1.15 drivers work and only in CRT Mode (which could be a good thing due to no checkerboard)
timing issues as I have to wear glasses upside down and there is very minor ghosting (nothing earth shattering, but it is there)
I have a sneaking suspicion that this is due to not being able to complete Nvision setup when closing one eye and selecting shapes (need a swap eyes keyboard shortcut!)
slight loss of contrast in 120hz mode
Very sensitive to depth changes due to screen size (need selectable screen size to scale adjustments better)
I experience some audible popping coming from my speaker when SLI was turned on.
Positives
Wow, I love gaming on the big screen again! My last projector was an Infocus X1 that had 800 x 600 res and 85hz 3D. The Optoma Totally blows away the X1 as there aren't any color differences between eyes with 120hz and the bump in resolution is very welcome. I am also quite happy to report that this is full page flip and not checkerboard so I shouldn't see any single pixel artifacts. It blows away my 60 inch 1080P Sammy as far as overall experience goes again due to the size. The amount of depth and immersion you experience on this is simply amazing! Even with the drawbacks mentioned above, there simply isn't a substitute for life size gaming and a decent 7.1 surround sound setup!
In short, great experience but a total pain in the rear to get working right. I hope Nvidia is able to spend some more time on their drivers once Fermi is released as this type of setup has SOOOOO much potential and is a much more satisfying 3D experience.

Thats good news Pixel, you must be relieved. I am currently running TH2GO Digital at a reso of 5040x1050. Because of the 59hz bottle neck I am only able to use anaglyph mode. I have it set up well, top end glasses, with little ghosting.
If you were me do you think it would be worth trading that in for a projector? I would love to see the 3D effect from a large screen. Anyone live near Portsmouth, UK, with a 3D PJ?

Which one would be a better choice: OPTOMA Pro350W or OPTOMA HD66 or ACER H5360? Drivers for Optoma available?
Contrast ratio matters or lumen?
Thanks.

I have to reply with the "usual answer"... It depends...
1. If you live outside the US then the Acer is your best bet. It is supported by the current 3DVision driver and appears to be widely available.
2. Both Optoma's are plagued with a flawed detection/activation process with 3DVision and can only be used with driver version 1.15. Even then there are timing flaws that are unable to be corrected in 3DVision that force you to wear the glasses upside down. Some minor ghosting is visible in some game but this is due to the timing issues as i mentioned before. I know this because if i look through the glasses at a fixed position on the screen and turn my head from side to side, I notice ghosting when looking through one side while not when my head is turned in the other direction. I saw that 1.20 drivers were just released but i didn't see any notes about formal support. I will give them a shot later tonight and hope that i will have something positive to say.
3. All of these projectors can only do 3D at 720P, even though the 350 supports a higher native resolution it is useless in 3D games. Don't fool yourself into thinking this is a deciding factor. It isn't.
4. All of them seem to lose a bit of contrast and brightness when switching to 120hz. It can be calibrated out to some degree with projector tweaks as well as gamma and digital vibrance within the Nvidia software, but still noticeable.
5. I watch movies at the native res and 60hz as it offers the best image quality for me.
6. Of course, Optoma has a very strong presence in the US so picking up replacement lamps and parts will be a snap when the need arises.
7. For anyone using an Optoma, I would suggest disabling unused input selections as it drastically reduces the time it takes the projector sense resolution changes like during boot up and in game adjustments.
I wouldn't go back to my DLP Sammy even with the issues i am having simply because gaming on a 130in screen is soooo good, but Nvidia could make it so much better with very little effort on there drivers. Just having the ability to manually select CRT Mode, swap eyes, and fine tune synchronization would completely eliminate all of my issues, as well as issues from other users on other solutions, and make the Optoma projectors a clear choice for US Consumers. Right now... I still have to say it depends on if you can tolerate the drawbacks. At the moment I can but if I have to remain on 1.15 for much longer then I would have to suggest an alternative.

Well, i spent the better part of 2 hours trying to get 1.20 to detect anything except for Discover.... no luck so it's back to 1.15 for me. Man, i sure would like to knew what the heck happened after 1.15 to cause all of these troubles. It's been 5 long driver revisions and the only good thing i can say at this point is that 1.15 installs the way it should. /tearywave.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':tearywave:' />

Pixel, you having any issue with the RBE? man I think my eyes are to sensitive because that crap bother my eyes. I\ve always had LCD projectors and you don't get that issue but trying to use 3D I figured to do DLP, now I haven't setup my PC to do any 3d gaming, this is just from basci cable and blue ray movies, that faint red blue green when u blink or look side to side sucks.. I guess this is with all 1 chip wheels..

I see it on occasion but it doesn't bother me much. A higher speed color wheel would have helped!

Well, i tried using some of the files from 1.15 with an installed version 1.20 and just couldn't get it to work for me. Just kept dumping me back into discover instead of CRT even though CRT was selected. Sooooo... back to the 1.15... again.

But still you have to use glasses upside down in games. In movies and pictures you can switch left and right.
Hope that will work for Optoma Pro 350W also. Let us know.
