sView: A free and lightweight stereoscopic movie/image viewer
People often ask for a stereoscopic movie player and sView is not very often listed in the answers. There is a reason for this, it is not well known.
I started this thread specifically for sView so the player can get some attention as it is not only free but also a lightweight player and is a good alternative to paid and bulky software.

It's been open source as long as I've been here - I regularly use it in place of 3D Vision photo viewer, because it is much faster to switch between images (once you set up some decent keyboard shotcuts - the defaults are kind of wtf, as is the UI), and better at zooming.
You should also remove it from the "GOM - Optical Measuring Techniques" profile so you can create a new profile and stop the green text appearing after switching to full screen, since it stops responding to keyboard shortcuts at all after pressing ctrl+alt+insert.
IIRC an earlier version triggered 3D in windowed mode, but the current version doesn't do that for some reason - I'm guessing they lucked out with an earlier driver profile that had the mystery stereo setting(tm), but after "sview.exe" found it's way into some unrelated profile without the setting it stopped working and the devs probably just blacklisted it rather than using nvapi to fix the profile.
I do wish escape would exit full screen instead of quitting the whole thing - too many times I've been a couple of hundred screenshots in and pressed that by accident and had to find my place again.

I know this player for less than a year and I always saw it free.

A bit off topic, but porting geeqie to Windows has been on my "if only I had enough spare time" list for years... there's just no better image viewer period. It also supports stereo photos (but not 3D Vision), so that's what I use whenever I'm in Linux.

Kirill seems open to suggestions.

One feature that sView is missing compared to 3D Vision image viewer, is support for the parallax tag embedded in .mpo files generated by the Fujifilm 3D camera. Hence I still use 3D Vision image viewer for actual photos, or first run my own scripts* to convert them to .jps trimming the sides to correct the parallax based on that tag.

These are the keys I'm using - yellow are must change, orange is less important. These are configured via the 'Help' menu (for some reason...):

I must've been thinking about something else then... on a side/anti-3D Vision Photo Viewer note, the 3D Vision Photo Viewer literally hammers the **** out of the DRs while it's viewing an image, to the tune of over 1100 entries(Create/Read/Close/etc) per SECOND...

sView 17.01 introduces support of OpenVR library (Windows build), including head tracking support while playing spherical video (tested on HTC Vive). Controllers are not yet supported - mouse and keyboard should be used for working with user interface.

I posted this in VR general for discussion about using it with a VR headset

I've been using sView for years as my go to 3D image and video viewer. I have two shortcuts in my SendTo folder:
sView - Image Viewer with Target set to "C:\Program Files\sView\amd64\sView.exe" --fullscreen --in=image
sView - Movie Player with Target set to "C:\Program Files\sView\amd64\sView.exe" --fullscreen --in=video
This makes it quick and easy to view 3D images and side by side 3D videos with a right-mouse-click and selecting one or the other from Send to.
Love this program!

You know it's free - you would be able to answer that question a lot faster by just trying it for yourself, especially since I doubt anyone here would have any familiarity with PhotoViewerPro to even answer that. I'm going to say probably not though - sView is focussed purely on stereoscopic images.

This is a great program, but unfortunately you can't use it with SVP to increase a movies frame rate. SVIEW needs to be able to let us change the video decoders so we can use lav video decoder and ffdshow raw filter.
