Helix's patch for revelations does not work on Steam version. Just as an FYI.
Aww, how come? Is it becuase steam is autoupdated to a newer version of the game? Loved AC1 in 3D and was looking forward to continuing the adventure at some point in 3D

It's just Revelations & steam, right? Not 2 and Brotherhood?
@foreverseeking: Most likely, it's listed as "Assassins Creed: Revelations -=HeliX Ready=- 1.02 ONLY" over on http://helixmod.wikispot.org/gamelist
On Tomb Raider if you go to properties and the updates tab, the box with either keep it up to date or don't update had a bunch of other versions in there, betas etc. I wonder if AC:R does, or if there's a way to roll it back.

Yea steam auto update. A lot of people keep trying it on steam = / .Its one of those games where all the shaders change each time it was updated. He had to redo it twice so its kind of nuts to have to do it again.
Just buy boxed. Its probably just as cheap tbh.

Ya know, pretty sure its still legal to crack a legal copy of the game, no doubt they will be out there, clear conscience since you own it.
Done it with Steam version of GTA SA before, it auto updates to V3 which doesn't support mods or multiplayer properly.

You would have to pirate entirely. Download full game. Cant reverse an update.
Missed earlier question
Just revelations.
2+Brotherhood will work on steam.

How so? I'm basing this off my one example but I just used a downgrader that essentially works as an update exe.
I imagine Uplay would complicate things though.
I guess if you tried to update the Steam version to the older 1.02 it would say the newer one is present, unless maybe you rooted around and deleted a few files to get it to stop recognizing it.
Its possible. I dont think many games have downgraders. Im sure there are circumstances where you can I just imagine they are few and far between.
Dead Space 2 is the perfect example. I downgraded the .exe (by using an older one on the net) to remove DLC you get which unlocks everything first time around.

Aww that's a shame. I'm guessing patches don't normally screw around with the shaders then? Thanks for the input though, when I come to play it I will likely just suffer 2D as have already bought it on steam and the obsessive in me wants to complete it on there.
It may work but its a risk. Not sure how often a game update is just an .EXE change
I think rarely if ever, but it worked with DS2 (played it till the end). Worth a punt with Assassins creed though, can always restore the original .exe with a backup if it doesn't work.
