PETITION: NVIDIA Driver later then 333.21 causes crashing in several Helixmod games. PLEASE SIGN
  1 / 19
As of 334 series NVIDIA released "increased 3D support" in several games http://www.3dvisionlive.com/content/new-3d-vision-game-support This is a method called depth buffer not normal 3D[geometry] which we see in "normal 3d games". People generally refer to it as "fake 3D." We use depth buffer to fix things in certain games like Dynamic crosshairs/etc. However, as of 334 series some games that we have this feature implemented in now crash. This problem not only breaks several older games but PREVENTS further implementation. Please sign this thread to let NVIDIA know we need this issue resolved. Games that can be effected include ------------------------------ DmC - Devil May Cry[Confirmed] Mass Effect 2[Confirmed] Aliens Colonial Marines.[Unconfirmed] EDIT: Some people think the 337 series fixed this issue. This is NOT the case.

Hmm that is weird....I just tried Mass Effect 2 and Dark Souls with HelixMod and they work properly. Using the 335.23. BUT THEN AGAIN I am using 3D Surround (where the depth-buffer 3D Vision technique is not working directly) maybe that is why it still works for me... But, I agree they should give us an option to switch between geometry/depth buffer stereo3D. so, I SIGN:)

I will have to try 335.23. Had 4 people crash in DMC Had 3 people crash in Mass Effect 2. Edit: Crashes Non-sli/sli 335.23 on single monitor. Probably doesnt effect multimonitors since they don't have depth buffer support.
I will have to try 335.23. Had 4 people crash in DMC Had 3 people crash in Mass Effect 2.
I can also give it a try on a SLI/Non-SLI on one monitor and see if that helps. Edit: Mass Effect 2 doesn't crash for me. But I get a BLACK screen using the latest fix. However, using an older fix everything is working as before...

Where's the petition? This thread itself? If so, consider me signed. It's bad enough that the community has to fix games themselves, but for nvidia to break the fixes with their subpar 'fake 3D' driver just adds insult to injury (or injury to insult, to be more precise)

Signed. Helix compatibility is more important than fake 3D enabled games. This has to be fixed. -- Shahzad

Just tested: DmC - Devil May Cry --> Black Screen with the sound in the backgroud. Without helix fix, the game works perfect (shadows are fixed..LOL....i remember this game have broken shadows) Bioshock 1 --> Working OK (also using Sweetfx) Dishonored --> Working OK (also using Sweetfx) Far Cry 3 and Blood Dragon --> Working OK Using 335.23 / 3DTV Play / No-SLI

Regarding ME2. I was able to solve the issue, by replacing 2 problematic vertex shaders (with older versions of the same shaders) @eqzitara I made an archive using the latest fix and those 2 replaced shader. eqzitara can you take a look and see what exactly is the diff? Been 3D gaming since it started on the PS3, and since graduated to the PC (been PC gaming since 1995, just not in 3D, have had no less than 6 Alienware and Clevo gaming rigs). As a result, if a game is available on console and PC, I simply get it for the PC, as I know HelixMod and the incredibly talented group there, will make the experience something that is out of this world. As someone who has 600 games in my Steam account, PLEASE NVIDIA fix this problem!!! I switched back to Nvidia, from AMD, for two reasons. The first and foremost being the 3D performance, and games compatibility, secondly driver support and the ease of installing them. I have a 780M in my Alienware 17 (3D), and rave about it to everyone. Please do not take away from this by lowering the previous 3D capabilities!!! Thanks!!

I SIGN. But I rolled back to 320 drivers already to avoid all the compatibility and stability issues. We all asked Nvidia in the original feedback for an option to toggle depth buffer on/off so hopefully this will remind them.

Signed. I'm also still on 320 drivers and I would need a very, very good reason to even consider touching my drivers at all, I'm just way too scared to update with the metric ton of threads like this one floating around.
