FOR NVIDIA SUPPORT: 3D VISION FLICKERING ISSUE Please help us fix this problem.
  9 / 16
Hello,

I have the same flickering problems in SLI mode. Nearly all games (except HL²) are flickering. When I disable SLI there is no flickering anymore and it works fine. I am running driver cd 1.20 and Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit.

My setup:
3D Kit with Samsung 2233RZ
Board: 790 SLI Ultra
CPU: Intel Q9650
RAM: 4GB Corsair
2 x EVGA GTX280
Power supply: 750W Corsair

When I come home I will try to use option 2 in Gaming environment. Last hope to use SLI for me. When will NVIDIA give us a final solution?

Flickering has always been a problem with IR shutter glasses.

Every now and then on this forum, possible causes and solutions are discussed.

I remember an old thread (http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=20906) where program called "ED-Activator" was a common suggested solution.

It replaced the sync signal from the nvidia driver sent to the IR glasses by triggering them constantly on a hardware sync level instead. That solved a lot of flicker problems back in the day.

I know its an old method for old nvidia stereo drivers, but who knows, maybe it still works?

Intrerseting I get no flickering at all, except if EVGA precision is running, then frequent flickering. I can set clocks with precision, close and run ok but if the monitoring software is running duing game... intermittent flickering.

I have EVGA precision not installed. Maybe I should install and disable it? ;-)

I tried a bit with different drivers and options in the Game Environment setup. But flickering in SLI mode is still there.

But I recognized that the flickering seems to lessen when I am playing in a complete dark room without lights. Not really satisfying at all to own a SLI system and can not use it in 3D Vision.

Thinking about selling one graphic card...

Ican report also some flickering.

My situation is as follows:

I have a software for phiotogrammetry which requires the stereo monitor + an extra screen ( i have an LCD with 60 Hz as an extra monitor).
I am using a FX3800 with Vista 64 bits and there is no flickering.

However, I know other people with problems with FX4600 and the same Samsung 22" + extra monitor. It seems that there is some flickering.

Does anyone else have experience with that FX4600 + Samsung 22" + LCD 60 Hz?

Thank you.

Some news from my side. SLI is now working without the white unsteady flickering of the glasses. I have tried all tips from this forum. Additional I disabled two of my cpu cores. Nothing helped for me :-(

Anywhere in the net I read something about light frequencies (in Europe/Germany seemingly 50hz) and stuff like this. I am not a technican, but I forced in Nvidia control panel games to run in 100hz. And the white unsteady flickering is gone...

But now I can see a very light constant flickering, like you are looking in the daylight with the glasses on. I can see it only if i have my big room lights on. On one side a little bit better, but not really satisfying at all.

Now I can choose. Wether single gpu without flickering or sli with 100hz in just acceptable quality. Good Job Nvidia. I think you have to do some homeworks really urgent...

I have this same issue, just started recently... not sure what has caused it. I have a e8400 cpu and a gtx 295...

Whats worse, is that i tried rolling back drivers, and now i can't even install the kit. The emitter light just keeps flashing red when the installation program asks me to plug it in.

ARRRRGGHHH.

Hello All,

I've been pulling my hair out all evening with this issue - especially so because I had it all working perfectly and then suddenly it started flickering as per previous posts.

Eventually tracked this down at to my Asus Xonar Audio Center - which has a neat feature called "Smart Volume" or SVN. When it's on I get flicker city - and eventually the glasses just switch off. When I switch it off - all is OK.

I'm using a 9800GT - so no SLI here.

I kind of think that there may be many different causes to the problems people are seeing - Don't know why a sound card feature would have such a huge impact on the glasses.

Anyway - I'm up and running with WOW now so a very happy, but tired, chappy.

Hope this helps someone out there!

Cheerio,

FryingBullet.

Mine has been fixed by uninstalling EVGA precsion overclocking program.... actually, its just its presence that was causing the flickering...

Now I run evga, overclock my settings, close the program so its not in the taskbar/memory... then i run the game.. the clock settings are still going, or at least the manual fan is...

Do you have an assumption that this problem is mobo related? Maybe PCIe or usb? Can you please explain it a little bit more detailed?

I am using a Nforce 790 SLI Ultra board.
