I spoke to Ralf Ostertag a couple months ago. There are no plans to support 3d vision or side by side mode with VorpX at this time.

@Ronrebell If you are interested in surround, I always recommend thinking about a projector instead. Good: The resolution is a lot lower, which is good for allowing playable frame rates, or lesser hardware to drive the 3D Vision. No ghosting whatsoever, because DLP switches so fast. 10 foot (3 meter) screen! Monsters are literally life size. Cheaper. A good projector H5360 is about $450. Bad: The resolution is 1280x720 for 120Hz, which is on the edge. It's doubled because of frame packing, so effectively is 2560x720 at 60Hz. In general, I never notice the resolution. New bulbs every 2000 hours are $100. Need enough space to project. But, there are short throw versions.

That's quite possibly comparing the performance of 3d vision to VorpX, rather than VorpX integrating support for 3d vision.
