Left 4 Dead 2
I fix others things in L4D2 (target/object markers, crosshair, some models and water halos by profile), except water reflection and a few objects in the back that share the same shader that HUD elements..LOL. The original new profile for L4D2 add a dynamic crosshair, but water halos are not fixed. If you change to prototype2 profile the dynamics crosshair is gone, but water halos are fixed, so is one thing for other. Let me check if i have the fix in my google drive account to upload. Edit1: I upload here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/dhr/Left.4.Dead.2.zip Use Prototype2 profile and extract where .exe is
Made this thread to split the topic off - is there any chance of a fix that gives a stereo crosshair and fixes the water halos?

Donwload and try the fix....it's include a fix for: - Crosshair 3D - Target/objects Icons 3D - Names plates 3D - Water Halos fix (by using prototype2.exe profile) - Some models in the back are fixes, now in correct depth Issues Remaining: - Some objects in the back are in wrong depth, share the same shader (and unique texture) for HUD elements, so it's kind of impossible to fix them. - Water reflections

I'll try it later today (not at home now), but does changing to prototype2.exe profile kill the 3d crosshair?

Ok! The Crosshair it's 3D, but not dynamic...this fix should be used with Prototype2.exe profile. If you want to use the L4D2 profile (with water halos) with dynamic crosshair you have to delete the texture from crosshair of the dx9settings.ini (open the textures.txt file in the Shaderoverride, there you can see the texture # for dynamic crosshair, i made a list of textures...if i remember well it's also used for others HUD objects). i recommend use this fix + prototype2.exe profile....dynamic crosshair it's not that necessary in this game.

Okay, so here's the state at the moment: Under the L4D2 profile, everything looks good except the water and floating character names. It even has a dynamic 3d crosshair. The water has massive halos, and the names float at screen depth. Under the Prototype 2 profile, a lot of shaders seem to be broken, specifically lighting-related ones - but the water is fixed. Your fix puts the floating names at a fixed depth - better than having them at screen depth, but not ideal. Possible to disable them? It also breaks menus and offsets the 3d crosshair though. Really, it's only the names and water that need fixing. Is that possible?

Thats debugger. Not error. https://s3.amazonaws.com/-HeliX-/DllsModPack.zip Use release if you don't want red text.

Let me re-install the game a check again.....last time i play i see only the issues mentioned in the post #3....lights working fine. This game it's contantly updated, so it's a chance that something breaks.

I had a look at this too. Pirateguybrush's summary is consistent with my observation. I ran the game with default profile, prototype (1/2) and aion. The main problem with the default profile (for me) is the water doubling - water reflections are accurate. I prefer dynamic crosshair as well. I had a brief look at the shaders for the reflections problem using the prototype profile, and for the water doubling using the default profile, in the hopes that one might be more obvious to fix than the other, but alas this was not the case - it was not immediately obvious how to fix either of them, even though water doubling is a very common one I have fixed before elsewhere. I only spent a couple of hours on all this, but if I (or anyone else) does look at it again I think trying to fix the water doubling (and using the default profile) is the approach to take. DHR is correct in noting that this game gets updated on steam about once per month (literally) so this could lead to thinks breaking over time. @Pirateguybrush - when I was looking at this, occasionally I had to keep pressing F10 to reload the shaders because the rendering of lights and shadows (and sometimes doors and walls!) was incorrect. F10 is a feature of the debugger and is why you saw red text - this may be what you experienced with lights messing up. Pick up a release DLL at the link Eqzitara gave to eliminate that issue.

Thanks for looking at this, Mike. I just played through a whole vs match (5 maps) with no issues with shadows/lights (not using any patches or profile changes), and I never saw lighting/shadow issues - I only had those on the prototype 2 profile.

I re-install the game this weekend, but i start to fix Deadlight and completely forgot about L4D2...Sorry. Also i forgot i upload the zip with the debuger version...replace with release version. Yep, the constant update of this game was the reason i don't upload in the site, because updates sometimes breaks stuff and really i don't have time to check in every update. When i play the game (with my fix) only have water reflection issues (don't appear to much in game, so kind of minor), the rest was OK. I will check again this week. If this game now (maybe an update fix stuff) works better in 3D, maybe not worth fixing. @Pirateguybrush do you see any issue now? Edit1: @mike_ar69, this game have 2.0 version shaders for many shaders, included effects, so before fixing anything you have to transform to 3.0 version.
