So whats the deal with that iPresentInterval command? Because its not limiting my game to 30fps and the game is more stable with it set to 1. Seems so random how one keeps it at 0 and somebody else at 1 while saying it works best for them!

Hello, guys. I have a technical question there. I've just made an upgrade and swapped my ASUS Strix GTX970 SLI for Gigabyte GTX980Ti G1 Gaming. I've read some reviews and benchmarks where 980Ti beats 970 in SLI. Not in every game, not by much, but anyway - 980Ti should be quite close to 970 in SLI, without all the hassle and issues SLI brings (also, I have free slot for another 980Ti now! :D) Right before swapping cards I made a save in Fallout 4 where my SLI setup shows ~35 FPS (3D on). 980Ti shows only ~29 FPS (3D on) in the same place. Quite a difference (18%), especially taking in account that there is no official SLI support in Fallout 4. Today I've tried squeezing all the juice from my rig by overclocking CPU, GPU and RAM. I've added quite a bit to CPU (selecting ASUS Optimal performance profile in BIOS, see screenshot for more details) and raised GPU clock by 60 MHz, which is now clocked at 1300 MHz in boost mode (see screenshot). Also, I've clocked my RAM at 2400 MHz in BIOS (I have 2x 2400 DIMMs and 2x 2133 DIMMs). And after all that I've got only 1 extra FPS... (cries loudly) In despair I've tried reducing all drawing distances to minimum and only reached 970 SLI performance with ~34 FPS... This is very sad news... :| Maybe someone have and idea what could be the bottleneck in my system (full specs in signature)? And if there is anything I could try to improve performance a bit? Without sacrificing graphical fidelity. Attached file has Fallout 4 savegame and screenshots in-game, CPU-Z and OC GURU II. Thanks in advance! :)

Memory overclocking won`t help you at all and CPU will slightly improve stability (more then performance). Your GPU clock can go up to 1450 so feel free to squeeze some more and keep that cooler running at high (don`t let temperature go higher then 80).

Thanks, Scaut. I do remember settings iPresentInterval to zero, however, after that config files were changed quite a few times... Also, I managed to squeeze 4 more FPS by overclocking CPU to 4.2 GHz and GPU to 1361 MHz. I must admit, that CPU overclocking did all the difference... UPDATE: Checked my configuration, and yes, I have iPresentInterval=0 in both INI files.

Mike also mentioned this line as important one: "bComputeShaderDeferredTiledLighting=0". Check if you got that set to "0" as well. Make a lot of difference with light spots.

For the people being unable to load Reshade / SweetFX on Windows 10, I think I just found the solution: we're missing some DirectX runtime libraries. Download and install this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylanguage=en&id=35 For me it went through the install and said that it determined I already had a later version, but it must have installed some files because I'm now able to get Reshade working as well. Enjoy! :)
