CANT RUN 3D SETUP WIZARD/CANT ENABLE STEREOSCOPIC 3D please help!!
Hi everyone

I am running an M17x R3 (Core i7 2.5ghz, 2 gb Nvidia GTX 580m, 16 GB 1333 ram, dual 750 gb hdd in RAID 0). I just got it a couple of months ago, and as far as I can tell, using device manager, all my drivers are up to date. (according to the system info in the Nvidia control panel, I have driver version 269.03). Im trying to set up my 3D via the Nvidia setup wizard in the Nvidia control panel, and when the wizard opens up, I lose my pointer. I tried using the touchpad and i tried using a regular mouse. neither one produced a pointer onscreen. I also cant use the keyboard. Neither "Enter" nor the arrow keys did anything. The one and only thing that I can do to produce any kind of response from the setup wizard, is to hit ESC to back out of it entirely. That seems to be the only key that still functions while the wizard is open. I dont know if this makes a difference - if this is how it works on all systems - but when the wizard opens on my system, it takes over the whole screen (covers the task bar and all that). I read a couple of things in other forums about 'mouse lagging' during the setup wizard, but couldnt find many references to mouse function dissappearing alltogether. I did find one where the problem was EXACTLY the same as mine (wizard opens, mouse pointer dissappears, keyboard wont work except for esc...Literally, exactly the same problem), but when the poster found a resolution, they just said that it had "something to do with the mouse". But after playing around with the mouse settings and pointer settings, I still got nothing. Im also doubting the fact that it's the mouse, cause I cant figure how an issue with the mouse could disable the keyboard except for ESC key.

lets see, what else...I made sure my screen res was set to 1080 - it was. I also switched from 60hz to 120hz, which i guess was good to do, as it was going to need to be done to use the 3D function, but it didnt help with the 3d setup wizard. I really cant do anything at all with the 3D now. When i try to set the stereoscopic 3D, it opens up the wizard, which I cant use beyond the initial page that opens, and when I was clicking around within the Nvidia options in the start menu, everything either opened the wizard, or said that I had to first enable stereoscopic 3D...which opens the wizard...and back to square one.

Anyone have an idea as to what's going wrong? How do I run the nvidia 3d wizard without losing the pointer, so that i can actually run the setup? Id really appreciate any help on this one. Ive tried so many things, and ive opened that wizard about 30 times hoping to see that pointer, and its just never there! Getting really frustrated here. Thanks!
