Hi Mike, thank you very much for this update. Amazing Job.
Sorry I didn't came back to you earlier about perfs issues I had, lot of work the last few days and no time to play.
So the tricks in the d3dx ini file, as the alpha 3 (which seams to have the same settings as the ones you mentioned earlier), gave me slightly better perfs but not that much.
I am still surprised by the impact of 3dvision on the perfs of this game, at least real 3d, CM perfs are good (but normal for simple pixel offset).
But from what heard 970sli have some issues with this game/driver.
Anyway, I found settings which gave me kind of acceptable perfs.
A small feedback about the alpha3, I also have the cars lights reflections broken (I mean rendered at wrong depth or something like that).
I only tested on SPA Francorchamp, with MSAA as AA, I will try other races with other settings and keep you informed.
Also the helmet DOF produces some strange results with cars, wheel, driver hands and sometime even the environment being blurred depending on the speed and head position.
Thanks again for your time.
EDIT: I tried few other locations such as Azur Coast or Brand Hatch with different AA settings and I have the same problem : the "stretched headlights reflections" are render at wrong depth.
I can be wrong but I think there were rendered well in alpha 2.

Is there anything I can do to stop the slow loading times after I run the pCars.exe again? First time loading is fine, but when I change a setting, restart the game it just hangs.
Whether I use Mike's d3dx.ini or Flugan's makes no difference. Do any other Win 8.1 users experience the same issue?

Hi - I'm still unable to recreate the brake light problem lol. I used to have it, that's what alerted me to the issues with reflections on Ultra, but now I don't... I'll keep investigating. Regarding DOF, Blur etc - turn them off, I made no attempt (and will not) to fix them. Regarding stretched headlights, I confess I have never turned that setting on yet. I'll have a quick look. Because of working on this fix I am behind in my MBA coursework, so will be leaving it for a few days now. I will be on vacation for a week from next Thursday as well, so will make sure I get the next alpha out before I go.

Does this only happen when using the fix? Uninstall the fix and play in 3D with low separation (so its effectively 2d) and see. It's odd since it happens with both 3Dmigoto and Flugan wrapper, which are very different things. I think I mentioned in a previous post that you could try using the d3dll.dll from DAI (I think that was 64 bit) since the 3DMigoto wrapper has effectively been re-written since then and has a lot of differences.

Oh maybe there is a little misunderstanding, when I talk about the car lights reflections, I talk about the stretched headlights reflections, I mean getting this option off remove the brake lights reflection on the road. So if you never turned it on it's normal you didn't saw the problem haha ;)
I feel bad we take so much of your time....
A very very big thank you for your hard work.

this is : )
i was playing default pCARS.exe
certainly in pCARS64.exe it makes a difference...
That´s the point at all.
in 64 one the fix rules, the only issue is an unprceptible ghosting at car sides (Little stronger in menus.
Conclusión, must use pcars64.exe to use the fix properly.
default pcars.exe doesnt use the fix

Speaking of which, it would actually help me out to get a wider experience with this version of the tool.
It's also alpha state, and we know that it crashes on Mike's system, and of course runs like a champ on mine. Getting some more system info and different users will help me narrow down where the problems might lie.
If you want to really live on the edge, you can try this version:
https://github.com/bo3b/3Dmigoto/releases/download/0.99.50-alpha/3Dmigoto-1.1.4.zip
1) Keep the ShaderFixes folder by renaming it out the way,
2) then run uninstall.bat to remove the prior tool.
3) Rename ShaderFixes back to you get all of Mike's fixed shaders.
4) Then drop in all the files from the new version from that zip file, x64 is probably your choice.
Then, let us know if it works or not for you.
If it doesn't crash for you, you can set the flag automatic_mode=1 in the d3dx.ini, and you will get the HUD back without having to edit the .exe.

Alpha 3 + 0.99.50-alpha/3Dmigoto-1.1.4 Works properly with no crash on my w7 64, non sli pc.
The hud is on.
One question for Bo3b: It´s posible assign a key or a pad button to change automatic_mode=1
for automatic_mode=0 in game?
would be nice for imo.

Whoa! Thanks for trying that out. Bit of a shock to me that it's working properly for you, given that Mike is having crashes, but that's the reason for the experiment. I'm on SLI and so is Mike, and you are running single card, so that removes that variable too. (I try single card periodically too of course).
We will be able to make the HUD on/off via a key/button a bit later on. We won't turn off automatic mode, but we can tweak the shaders to do it.
You'll want to use the d3dx.ini file I made before, it will improve your performance by turning off shader hunting and a few other things. Edit the file to add that automatic_mode=1 flag.

I can still a minor issue like a black shader on far distance (sometimes you can see on mountains and walls)..tt's really no game breaker but I like to mention so you know this issue still existed.
What an awesome team. Thanks again guys. :))

Awesome! Glad to hear it's working for you too. What are your system specs so I can correlate? (please add them to your signature.)
The black shader in the distance is one we know about, and I looked into the shader in question in depth, and I believe that this is some sort of game bug or driver bug that happens in 3D. Mike is less sure about that, but at the moment we don't have an answer.

Rig: Intel i7-8700K @4.7GHz, 16Gb Ram, SSD, GTX 1080Ti, Win10x64, Asus VG278
i was playing default pCARS.exe
certainly in pCARS64.exe it makes a difference...
