Yes I am waiting for it, because I have a DLP that worked with the old stereoscopic solution from nvidia (max 85 Hz and XGA) and it makes not too much sense for me to buy another low res even if it is 3D Ready, so I am waiting already for some years, a 1080p 3D Ready projector -affordable-.

LCD resolution , CRT resolution , and DLP resolution cannot be compared apples to apples based on numbers alone, this is a fallacy.
Each have merits . (okay blurry LCD not so much)

Having used projectors with : 800x600, 1024x768, 1920x1080 (60hz) - I would say that yes, resolution can be compared apples to apples.
Now if you want to go more general, and say "image quality can not be compared resolution to resolution" - then yeah, it's not directly comparable.
Brightness, focus, keystone, etc, are all 'big deals' with a projector, and are a 'non issue' in an lcd/crt.
Too bad usual 1080p projectors cannot even display 1080p in motion at 60hz , you know about that?
You don't want any kind of 1080p projector, you want a pulse type projector for 1080p 3D ........
Good luck with that .............

Sorry, only ever used 60hz projectors, always driven by a computer.
I've read that at some resolutions some cap at under 60hz (listed under input/output modes), but I never actually used one that did. But I'm assuming that's what you mean. I could be wrong.

Sadly, everything available is low rez. Now I've been playing the waiting game with this idea too. L'sigh.
Many folks also waiting for a decent projector to come online?

(note : yes, we all know the 'pro' hardware can do it - and we all know it costs more than a new car.)
