Gothic 4:Arcania textures missing / turning black in 3d vision
Hi all,
I am having an issue when 3d is enabled with Arcania, steam.
The game worked brilliantly for 6 hours, now I notice some textures, character faces, or entire people all of a sudden turn jet black like they are missing textures.
Also, I report major slow downs which accompany this new behaviour.
I had a large red "out of memory" sign come up on screen after one of these slow down episodes. (the sort of red sign/flag a video card, or monitor would show).

gtx 480 sli

Win 7 64
The bug happens in 3d AND in 2d.
It only happens when 3d is enabled through control panel.
Is not SLI related, both show bug.
With all graphics options disabled, it is still bugged.

I played the game entirely in 2D (as its 3D vision rating wasn't too good), and I had exactly the same problems you've described. By the end, I was restarting the game every hour or so to get rid of those annoying black textures...
IMO, Arcania was one of the worst RPG releases of recent years - it was both buggy and boring. But it's not NVidia's fault - it's just a badly programmed game - even ATI users were reporting the 'black texture' issue on the forums!

If you drop the texture detail to medium it helps with this problem. Most people that have done this, including me, have eliminated the black texture bug completely. Obviously it degrades the image quality some but it beats the creeping death look...

On another note, anyone else notice that when it rains, some sort of haze affect is rendered only in one eye...
