Nvidia 3D glasses stopped working.
  1 / 2
I'm using the Nvidia 3D glasses with my BenQ 2420 and it seems the glasses aren't working anymore. I've had them for less than a week and I don't think they are turning on anymore. When I plug them in, I get an orange flashing on the bottom of the glasses, followed by a steady orange light. When I press the "on" switch I get a steady green light for about 30 seconds. But nothing happens with the lenses at this point. I had played a few days with them, and then I left them alone for a few days, maybe 3-4. Thanks for any help.

What happens if you test them with the nvidia control panel...?

Do you see 3d ?

I've gone through the setup wizard before, and it worked great. But since they aren't working at the moment, I tried going through the setup wizard again. I am unable to see 3D in the setup.

Did you charge them tru usb for a long time..they need that !

Maybe you should let them be connected thru usb while setting up,to see if it's a battery problem...

They are connected right now. I've never seen any red blinking lights to make me think they were low on battery. After they weren't working last night, I connected the USB and just left them there to charge for a while. Since I've been on the computer today, a couple of hours already, they have been plugged in the entire time.

I think they aren't getting any info from the IR emitter from your monitor or the IR Transmitter from Nvidia (what your using ?)

If you have a camera and look at the infrared light from the IR transmitter, then you can see if the light turns on when doing a stereoscopic test...

The camera turns the infrared to normal light you can see...!

A little trick I learned...

I'm using the benq xl2420tx with built in IR-emitter.

So I should get a camera, and look at the IR-emitter when it's turned on to see if it's working correctly? Currently a green light appears at the IR-emitter to let me know that 3D is on. I'll go get a camera and see if I notice anything though.

There must be a IR light probably next to it...

See if it goes on and off if you turn 3d on and off...

So I've never used a camera to look at this before, what exactly am I looking for? Is there a different color that I should be looking for? I guess I'm a little confused.

If you test 3d with test 3dstereoscopic in the nvidia control panel...(do not try it with games) then you will see a white light turning on...

the light must be white ,because a camera can't show IR so it shows it in visible white...

I'm not exactly sure where on my BenQ it is supposed to light up, but it doesn't show a white light anywhere when I look at it through a camera. Does it matter how old the camera is? I'm using a digital camera from a few years ago. When I turn on my 3D a little green light appears in the bottom right corner of my monitor to let me know. This is visible without the camera. I'm going completely shut down my computer and monitor, and bring it all back up in the hopes that something really simple might be holding me back. Be right back.
