Batman: Arkham Knight - 3D Fix Available!
  37 / 46
I've recently revisited Knight using the Warhammer End Times: Vermintide CM profile and it is a big improvement over all others that I have tried - good depth with little haloing.

I was thinking about this one earlier... I would imagine it should now be a lot easier (or should I say, remotely possible) to fix this with the shader regex engine in place and not needing to patch individual shaders... but I remembered reading through DSS's tile lighting fix implementation (something I've never been able to do on a single game yet), so I wouldn't dream taking this one on myself.

Well, after almost a day, Knight is downloaded and installed. On a GTX 1080 in 3D, in the benchmark, shadows are broken, some effects are broken and some textures are missing/display as a blue shimmering thing. I am surprised that with everything at high in 2D @ 1080p the benchmark gives a consistent 60FPS - I thought the game might be more broken than that, perhaps it is in game.

I might just suck it up and play in CM mode sometime soon if it's not too bad with the vermintide profile

Could any of you guys provide some pics, using the Warhammer End Times: Vermintide CM profile ? Though I guess there might be a tiny little hope for a real fix, using the amazing Shader regex ?

Thanks! Haloing doesn't look bad at all, but lack of depht and convergence, makes me hold the horses for the time being ! I still hope for a miracle though (what has been seen several times in here;)

I fired this one up after nearly a year hiatus... Using the Vermintide profile it does indeed look better than any other option. Haloing is nearly non-existent until you start messing with convergence. Then it looks pretty much the same as any other profile. After about twenty minutes I had to turn it off again... It's such a visually complex game, that the fake 3D just isn't enjoyable. I can't really explain it... compatibility mode works okay in some games, but this one just doesn't feel right. And 2D is even worse. They placed the camera so close to Batman in Arkham Knight it just feels uncomfortable playing. Real 3D wouldn't be 'a nice perk' for this game, it's essential in my opinion. What a shame

I feel you, the Batman games are awesome. I also feel the same disappointment for the Spiderman games. The Amazing Spiderman 1 and 2 both use CriWare, I'm not sure about Shattered Dimensions (edit: this also uses CriWare). But now that they are no longer sold on Steam, they'll likely never see a fix.

^^^ And to further elaborate, I got to thinking, and it's almost like Rocksteady had a love affair with close-up cameras in BAK. I feel like the cameras are too close to the action for much of the game. It's too close to Batman for normal movements, and it's too close to faces during dialogue scenes. A prime example is when you rescue a firefighter. The camera makes this dizzying move as Batman picks the guy up off the floor, and it's like the camera is right there in everybody's face. Yeah, it's artistic, but in fake 3D it's just frustrating. Fake 3D works best when the camera is allowed to distance itself from objects. The closer it gets, the more flat everything becomes. This is especially noticeable in this game because of the camera positioning.

^^^ I wouldn't enjoy the 1st person mode but I appreciate the link to the FOV modification. I might try that and see if it improves the problem. Thanks

Sounds like it's been put in the too hard basket. If it's doable it's obviously too time consuming. The game produces different shaders depending on graphics card I heard so it's a nightmare. Such a mess of a port. =(
