does 3d vision still exist? getting 3d vision to work on dlp wd65738
I purchased a new wd65738 mits DLP, 2 gtx 460`s installed them and ran my 3D vision using the 258 drivers it worked great. I upgraded the drivers to the 270 version and when i ran the setup wizard it didnt detect my DLP monitor.(was detected as a generic DLP on the 258 setup) I am able to run 3D with the dlp link glasses but its terrible!!!!! I know the tv will do the 3d vision 1080x1920 @ 60hz. I called the nvidia tech support and they told me that model didnt support 3d vision. It does i have run it twice already by reverting back to the 258 drivers. So my question goes out to the Nvidia gurus. How and why would you roll out a new product (3Dtv) but not support 3D vision? I have searched the forumns and found the ini fix by roller. I havent had time to try this work aroiund but I will. I just dont see why I need to do hoops to get what was a fine 3D effect to work again on a TV thast is able to support it. Hopefully you guys will work on the next drivers letting us choose which we want 3DTV or 3D vision.By the way I did drop a huge dollar amount on the 3D vision kit and extra glasses.

We are only end users here, so we ask the same question everyday. Why did 3D Vision support for your TV end with release 258.xx? Only nvidia can answer that. You are far more likely to get accurate information in this forum, we care only about getting results, not implementation details.
Installing rollermod will solve your problem, and it is hardly "jumping through hoops". Takes about 20 seconds plus a reboot, that's it. After that, you have 3D Vision in every release, not just 258.xx. If you need help, just ask.

Roller thank you for taking the time for a response. My sincerest apology if I offended with my post about the hoops remark. I will certainly try your workaround and again thank you for the reply and offer of future assistance

No offense taken, I just wanted to stress that while it may seem like .inf swaps are a lot of trouble, this is not the case. You just D/L Rollermod.inf, install it in a few seconds, then you're doing 3D Vision from that point on, it is a one time only install.
When you said "I called Nvidia tech support..." I thought "uh oh, big mistake". That's what I meant by "you'll get better, more complete info by asking members of this forum". We have found ways around the obstacles that Nvidia has constructed, like defeating their bogus red error message generator. You won't get that kind of help from Nvidia tech support. So be wary when tech support tells you what is possible and what isn't, especially in matters of compatibility.
