Newer System and 3D?
Hi, I am Planning on getting a Faster machine and was wondering if I get a Dual Core and a nVidia 8800 will 3d Work with this setup??
Or would I still have to disable 1 core and use a 7950 Graphix card??

Option B until they release a working stereo driver for the 8XXX series. I have heard that certain newer drivers may work OK with Dual Core but I am not sure.

It is almost Christmas and still no stereo for the 8XXX series...bad Nvidia...I guess I'll have to put something else on my Christmas list.

I have recently (around 3 months ago?) put together an amd 64x2 socket AM2 on an asus m2n32sli deluxe wireless edition board. For Video and ram I have a single overclocked nvidia 7300gs...ram is corsair 800 on the yellow slots and generic on the black slots....with no noticable difference in speed when switching the order....(Yellow is supposedly a better link to the processor) Generic and corsair ram seem to be exactly the same... both made by micron and both have exact same timings. I also have an Nvidia 8500gt sli which I don't use. Due to the fact that I can't get any 3d stereo drivers to work at all... My system Crashes every time... Even when using mtbs drivers. :( HDD is Sata2 for games ...and an IDE for O.S. .... Bad move as I'm waiting for the IDE to load...and it does take a bit compared to sata2.. I didn't think it would be that noticeable especially just for an O.S. load....Not running a swap file.

I put my case together for around 600 with a donated cd rom drive.. cost was obviously an issue...but I'm a performance nut .... I did the best I could with what I had at the time.

The only complaints I have are few.... the on board digital audio sucks...it skips and or crackles on almost every game. It is disabled and I'm using an old sound blaster pci128 with much better results and crystal clear sound.. The major complaint I have is that the ddr2 memory voltage reporting is wrong... the setting on my system has to be 1.9 volts and clock skew advance 450 or the system crashes randomly.

I don't have any problem with the dual core processor when playing any games.... However when I download and install the AMD dual core optimizer... my web pages freeze up, add and remove programs util. takes forever, and my onboard Audio (when enabled) freezes during game play on Grand theft auto 3.

Other than the Crappy Audio and picky Memory issues... It is a good gaming board.

I say stay with your seven series... don't get 8 until they get the stereo drivers running.......Do your homework on features and price... and good luck on getting your newer system... like any company and technology u will have to adjust, do research, and download the most recent drivers and bios for the best experiences. /yes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Sorry.... so lengthy ...this is a subject I like.

I´m not sure, but... if you disable nvidia 2nd core compatibility with nHancer is like if you disable the 2nd core in windows?. I think you only lose some graphic optimizations for 2nd cores in the nvidia driver, but not the core itself (I´m not sure). I´m not very sure about what exactly you lose in overall power comparison with an utopic 2nd core nvidia support.

Can anybody explain what happend?... Is it really important to have the 2nd core support to activate it in nHancer?.

Well I plan on getting a 570j Intel CPU very Fast CPU ;) and I Plan on getting SLI'd 7950 Vid Cards or maybe just 1 still haven't decided.
For me having the latest and greatest Doesn't matter much as I mostly Play Older Flight Sims: Falcon 4, Janes F/A-18 and TAW (F22 Sim) .

The most recen flight sim I play is LOMAC FLamming Cliffs. even with my current system I get pretty good Frames even in 3D so I decided to go with a Single core CPU and 7950 Vid Card(s). Hopefully Santa will bring me some parts for the new System After All I have been a good boy this year ;)

Good sources say that NVidia is actually working on a new 3d stereo driver for release after the new year. Bad news is that it is going to be VISTA only, does not have post processor support, is for 8 series cards only and won't be support SLI. Hopefully the post processor support and SLI gets added later on. The new driver willl support multi-core CPUs.

I have a question!

Is there any company working on a new verision/generation of 3D shutter glasses.
All that are on the market seem to be pretty outdated, or ?

Any news appreciated!
