Samsung PN50C490, does it work with 3D Vision?
  1 / 3
Hey guys I was just wondering if this screen works with nvidia's 3D vision. I was comparing this tv to the mitsubishi 60" dlp and in my opinion this one just blows it out of the water when it comes to viewing angles / color. The mitsubishi on display seemed very, very, very opaque in comparison.

Thanks!

Thats the new elcheapo 720p samsung 3dtv plasma, right?

There seems to be a problem with Samsung plasmas with the current beta drivers. If you own the tv, post your 3DTV model to this thread:

Edit: Nevermind, I see what you are saying now! So 3DTV play is basically 3D vision for HD Tv sets.

Alright, thanks for the info, I'll be on the lookout!

Yeah for gaming 720p is the only res one can use for 60Hz and gaming in theory.
And the price...
50" 3D plasma for under 1000$ and now there is a campaign with 2 classes. You US guys are lucky.
There is no reviews out so no one knows how good the tv actually is. And no user comments either on AVS forums.

I saw it at Bestbuy display last night. Looks bad for bluray 3D...I don't know how but looks worse and more pixelated than my Acer DLP projector and Samsung DLP 3D TV. But could be good for gaming...

Like all plasmas and specially Samsung plasmas in 3D mode looks very pixelated (plasma pwm noise) when you look the screen very close. But with glasses on and proper viewing distance you dont see it.

Also by default at least my Samsung has ridiculous amount of Sharpen on. This adds even more pixel noise. This can be seen in normal 2D mode too. 3D has separate setings for this.

With computer/bluray use you should use 1:1 pixel ratio (Screen Fit) and zero amount of artificial sharpen (Sharpness=0)
