Tekken 7: Fated Retribution 3DVision Ready Fix released.
  1 / 9
Practically.... The PC is now with out a doubt the ultimate version of Tekken 7 Thanks especially to Masterotaku for the hours of work and thanks anyone else involved with looking at the game and in keeping this technology alive all these years. You all know who you are. No glory for heroes. =) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgMepE75MDI http://helixmod.blogspot.co.nz/2017/06/3d-vision-fix-for-tekken-7.html The few issues that remain are almost unnoticeable in combat, so I'm calling it 3D ready. It's funny when I first posted this, I had no real idea other than a hunch that the game would even get a PC release. But here we are, after over 20 years and even years after the original post. A very well optimized PC experience vastly superior to the console versions with good low latency feeling online play. And to top it off an actual true 3D competitive fighting game in an actual 3 dimensional space. Well! Electric Wind God Fist me in the face, and smash me through a wall! The King of Iron Fist Tournament brought to life! See you at Evolution Motherfathers. =D

If I am not mistaken no Tekken ever made it to PC... Good PS game anyways.

There's a strong rumor that this time it is. The producer has said it's something they are looking into, and for the first time it's not running on their own engine. (its unreal 4)

In this case, it would be easy to port it, I suppose. Good news. Actually time to sell my PS4 soon. ;)

Well my Prayers just got answered.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4h8o4pWECI It's Unreal 4 and is easily the most graphically impressive looking fighting game at this point. I am positively salivating at the prospect of playing whats looking like the best entry in this franchise in glorious 3D for the first time on PC. Good riddance consoles, I now have no reason to ever get one...

Tekken 3 is perhaps my favorite fighting game of all time, but I feel the majority of players are on console, which is why the cross play is amazing to keep the games relevant for awhile. I actually just picked up Killer Instinct as it was on a spring sale. The game is very complicated as not as natural to me as Tekken or street fighter. In your opinion, what is the greatest fighter on PC? I heard the newest guilty gear is amazing.

@tygeezy: from current PC games, Blazblue is my favorite fighting saga (one of the reasons why I made their 3D fixes). I like the visual novel style of the story, and seiyuus that I know from anime. Also the fights themselves, and how characters usually have unique conversarions before and anfer the battle (also some in-battle sentences). Guilty Gear Xrd (there is a WIP fix from 4everAwake for Sign in these forums) has the same type of fights, but I'm less fond of the cast. About console games, I like the Soul Calibur saga the most, and Tekken comes in second place (or third, because of some Dragon Ball games).

I hear you tygeez and I for one am royally pissed that it's not cross platform. As you can probably tell me my Avatar my favorite fighting game franchise of all time is Tekken. The developers reasoning is, that it's due to the third party policies of Microsoft and Sony preventing it from being CP. Now, before you say, "but but but, killer instinct and SfV are." These are exclusive games to there respective consoles. So theres no politics with connecting Xbox to ps4 p2p. Personally in light of this news I wish they kept this game a Sony exclusive console wise because then at least we would have crossplay with ps4, and lets be honest most of the community for tekken is on Ps4 and I don't see it taking hold in the Xbox. (TTT2 and t6 didn't on xbox360) Personally I think it's stupid for the developer to release on three platforms without crossplay because all they are doing is further splitting the community of a very niche genre as it is. But you know, money.... The other protest that's often given is that Rocket league is cross platforms on PC and both consoles. Well apparently it's due to the fact RL is a server based game and tekken being a fighting game has to be P2p, and the security policies of the console networks regarding p2p are preventing this. So unfortunately we are at the mercy of stupid console wars here... Consoles ruin everything. I am hoping against hope, but especially me living on the ass of the world literally in New zealand the online community is going to be very small. At least this game is going to have a substantial single player campaign so I am still looking forward to playing it on PC. Game will look awesome in 3d if it gets a fix as it's a true 3d fighter. Also as the arcade game is actually based on hardware running windows technically the PC will be the best version and the consoles are the ports.

I can't really blame them for wanting to keep PC out. PC is notorious for hacks and exploits and other "advantages" so it would be a disservice for Sony or Microsoft to expose its players to that sort of thing when people pay to play on their platforms. I can't think of a AAA multiplatform game with functioning anti-cheat on PC aside from Overwatch (but Blizzard is really a PC dev first and foremost so that's an exception to the rule, really). Look at GTA V on PC, the online multiplayer is completely ruined with "modders" and scripters out the wazoo, even though Rockstar has made billions with the title. It's honestly terrible.

oh god. and this is the other battlecry I hear. Honestly, there is just as much hacking, cheating and exploiting on consoles as there is on PC... seriously. Worse is the communities on console tend to be much worse and immature. Boosting and lagswitching in particular is a problem on console fighting games, and rage quiting seems to be much more prevalent in console online. Hell, even For Honor. Here I was happily playing it on PC, oblivious to the fact everyone on console was complaining about the network play. Turns out that it was mainly due to rage quitters crashing the matchmaking. But I had a very stable experience on PC, well the problem existed there too just a better community... Then we have the fact most console gamers play on wifi..... nuff said. Anyway SFV is the best example here. It is cross play with the ps4, and it's not plagued by cheaters online any more than exclusive console games. Actually if I get a bad match or a rage quitter or a lag-switcher 9/10 it's a Ps4 player. My best matches are almost always against PC competition. Really though if a developer is doing their job right there is ways to prevent alot of this behavior. it's definitely a convenient excuse to not implement the feature though. Harada has said they wanted to put it in but Sony and Microsoft refusing to play nice with p2p matchmaking is ultimately the reason it's not.

I'd agree with most everything except for the statement that there is "just as much" of the above on consoles, because consoles that haven't had kernel exploits are not hackable in that regard. As for the immaturity of the players, that comes with the territory with these kinds of games, and in that case PC is better off standing alone with its much higher barriers to entry. It's certainly a pity that it won't happen, regardless.

Game is out and it's beautiful on PC, with great performance. 3dvision is actually by my standards pretty good out of the box. Only issues I see so far on ultra is Hud is screen depth and shadows are out of depth, maybe the odd halo in some stage elements. But I have not yet checked the stages or seen if 3dmigoto will hook. (In'this case for day one I want to be a bit careful as it's got anti tamper) Also have not touched story mode which could be a bit more interesting... I am very happy, so hopefully there won't be any technical hurdles to get this sorted. In 3d vision during Kazuyas win pose he punches you in the face! XD

Good that it's pretty good in 3D already. I'm going to try it in 9 hours and fix everything I can.
