SLI with 2 different NVIDIA graphics cards GTX 295 BFG 2GB & GTX 480 2Gb
i have been usin the gtx 295 bfg 2gb graphics card for a bit and have just gonew out and upgradedto teh gtx 480 2gb, which is much better. but then i read about SLI and was wondering if i can do it wityh my 2 graphics cards and the 3D vision still work? im new to this so dont get it :p many thanks

SLI requires two graphics cards with the same chipset and memory.
So you can't SLI a 295 with a 480.

Plus you need to have a SLI enabled motherboard also....

so is there anything i can do with the older graphics card (within the same cpu?)

You could maybe use it for physx.

I'd sell that card and get yourself another GTX 480. A GTX 295 is a high commodity item since it is as fast as your GTX 480 in DX9/DX10. To use it as a physx card means you'll only use one of it's GPU's (which it sports two GTX 275 chips), quite a bit of waste there.
