I'm planning to use a setup of 3 TV's in 3-way SLI (570) all TV's in 3D mode, so does 3D Vision and 3DTV also support that? Can I use Nvidia's IR transmitter or TV's own transmitter?
Hi, I'd like to know which of these Samsung TVs are supported by 3D Vision and 3DTV?

UE55C8705
UE55D6207
UE55D6507

Samsung HDMI1.4 TVs are known to work under 3D Vision provided you install Rollermod.inf override file. 3DTV Play sorta works, but you're stuck with scaled 720P Frame Packing, no checkerboard.

While there are modifications to allow these TVs to work with 3D Vision, we do not officially support it.
We can support these TVs with 3DTV Play. Our official support list is here. http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-requirements.html
If the TV isnt on our support list, you can send us the EDID and we can add it, instructions here: http://nvidia.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/nvidia.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2774
A couple of other comments:
- I would not recommend 3-way SLI since at this resolution, you are not going to see a benefit. I would recommend 2-way SLI.
- When you say 3 TVs in 3-way SLI, you dont mean 3D Vision Surround, do you? If so, this is not supported. We do not support 3D TVs with 3D Vision Surround.

Does this mean that with a 3D tv you can't get 1920x1080 in games in 2D or just in 3D? I would want to play my games in 1920x1080 in 3D on the tv or else it wouldn't make much sense to go this route.

Most 3D TVs only support 720p60 or 1080p24 for 3D mode. You could play games at 1080p24, but the Hz would be limited to 24hz. That looks ok with RTS style games, not good for FPS.
Some 3D TVs support optional checkerboard modes at 1080p. This isnt full resolution 1080p 3D, but its close. We currently do not officially suppor that with 3DTV Play, but are looking to add support for it.

Regarding 3D Vision, it depends on the brand. Samsung and LG support 1920x1080/60 per frame in 3D (aka 'checkerboard'). All other brands do not so you'd be stuck with scaled 720P, something you definitely don't want.
Just so there's no misunderstanding, these Samsung 3DTVs have been demonstrated to work even though they are not "officially" on the supported list. You must install Rollermod.inf to access all modes including CB.
3DTV Play is another thing altogether. It will work, but only at 720P or 1080P/24 Frame Packing, no checkerboard.

you could save allot of $$ if you go with a DLP hdtv. And the 3d experience is better IMO than LCD or plasma. DLP has zero crosstalk issues. ive seen 73" Mitsubishi DLP's for around 800$ used locally here in Sacramento. or $1000 for a new 65" DLP. these have checkerboard and are compatible with 3d vision, no hacking necessary. the downside is that the DLP is not completely flat- this might not be ok for you.
even better, IMO, is a DLP projector- due to the bigger screen- and native resolution. checkerboard is half resolution- not much better than 720p. I still have a checkerboard 3dtv and 720p projector and i prefer the 720p projector. the bigger screen, faster frame rates and higher AA makes up for the resolution loss. but projectors are not for everyone- as you need a huge wall or screen, and they take more effort to setup. its up to your and your needs. just know that for wide screen gaming- there are better cheaper options than HDMI 1.4a HDTV's
why pay so much for a non HD 3dtv? Like Andrew said- 24hrz is not playable with FPS games.
the only true HD gaming experience is the smaller 27" 3d monitors that run at 120hrz. most if these have varying amount of crosstalk. its up to you if you can live with crosstalk or not. Personally i think it ruins the 3d experience. i had a panasonic Vt25 for a while and i returned it due to the crosstalk issues.
whats best tends to be a subjective thing. everyone has different ideas and design needs- some need thin tv's, others have more space for projectors and such. Others can not stand visual anomalies like crosstalk. some can live with crosstalk and enjoy the most expensive Tv's. Most will agree- with 3d- the bigger the screen the better. this differs from the 2d gaming world which is mostly resolution obsessed. luckily there are allot of options these days.

So you can only run one 3DTV in "3D-mode" on 3DTV Play and 3D Vision? If you are trying to setup three TV's it will only allow 2D? This means that I must get back to the drawingboard.

Yes, that is what I am after.
If that can be done by nvidia hardware/software, next part is how to get those TV's to be in sync with each other. Apparently nvidia's 3D emitter works fine with LCD monitors - why it shouldt work also with TV's?

The only way to set up three screens to view as one giant 3d screen is with monitors and 3d vision. You can't use 3 3d tvs as one giant 3d screen with 3dtv play. But yes those three 3d tvs will work as a giant screen in 2d.

I think what you are asking for us 3D Vision Surround with 3D TVs, which we do not support. We may be able to support individual 3D screens in the future in multi-monitor mode, but not with the content spread over 3 screens.

Can I just confirm that if I install the rollermod.inf patch then I can view 3D content on my Samsung TV using the nvidia 3D vision emitter and nvidia glasses? The reason I ask is that I sat on my samsung glasses last night and crushed them.

No roller mod just opens up the checkerboard option on samsung led tvs. You still need to use your samsung glasses.

even better, IMO, is a DLP projector- due to the bigger screen- and native resolution. checkerboard is half resolution- not much better than 720p.

System:
Intel I7 920 overclocked to 4ghz
Asus Rampage Extreme II
2 Ge-force 480 in SLI
GTX 295 PhysX Card
12gb ddr3 2000mhz ram
Intel SSD in RAID 0
BR RW
1000w Sony surround sound
NVIDIA 3D Vision
3d displays tested:
Mitsubishi 65" DLP 3d HDTV (good old 1080p checkerboard since 2007!!!)
Panasonic VT25 (nice 2d but I returned it due to cross talk)
Acer H5360 720p on 130" screen (the best 3d)
23" Acer LCD monitor (horrible cross talk- sold it)
Samsung 65D8000
Hi

So you can only run one 3DTV in "3D-mode" on 3DTV Play and 3D Vision? If you are trying to setup three TV's it will only allow 2D? This means that I must get back to the drawingboard.

Sorry I dont quite understand your question. You want to use 3 3D TVs, all in 3D?

Yes, that is what I am after.
If that can be done by nvidia hardware/software, next part is how to get those TV's to be in sync with each other. Apparently nvidia's 3D emitter works fine with LCD monitors - why it shouldt work also with TV's?

I think what you are asking for us 3D Vision Surround with 3D TVs, which we do not support. We may be able to support individual 3D screens in the future in multi-monitor mode, but not with the content spread over 3 screens.
What is your use case?

If so where can we download this file?
If so where can we download this file?
Win 7 64 - i7 4770k 4.5ghz - Corsair hydro water cooled - MSI Z87-GD65 mobo - MSI GTX 780ti Gaming twin frozr 3GB - 16GB Corsair Vengeance 2133 RAM - 500 GB SSD - Corsair 760 PSU
Can I just confirm that if I install the rollermod.inf patch then I can view 3D content on my Samsung TV using the nvidia 3D vision emitter and nvidia glasses? The reason I ask is that I sat on my samsung glasses last night and crushed them.
If so where can we download this file?

No roller mod just opens up the checkerboard option on samsung led tvs. You still need to use your samsung glasses.
