Broken 3D bluray playback since 'fake' 3D driver introduced (unfixable)
  2 / 10
Yeah, I'm still installing the old driver when watching 3D blurays. It's like night and day. A later driver might work but I decided I actually wanted to watch a film after days of working out what the problem was. Still no response from nvidia. Comment on the driver page through the link suggested earlier in this thread. The more people complain the more likely they'll fix it, or at least acknowledge it!

I can confirm exactly the same problem with 3D Vision, and it is driver related problem. Since they put in "fake 3D" driver, everything, not just 3D bluray has become totaly unwatchable on my 3D TV. Picture is ghosting badly and it's blurry expecialy in motion. I have geforce 770 GTX and i5-4670k, LG 3D smart tv, so its not hardware issue. Only solution is to revert back to 327.23 drivers, but that makes new games like BF4 and some others unplayable, 3D bluray movies and other games that use 3D Vision and 3DTV Play, that work with the old driver are just beautiful and work fine. Im hoping they do intend to fix this.. it's a shame realy, but I think its a refresh related issue, because its realy terrible in 1080p-24Hz, and a little less terrible in 720p-60Hz but still annoying and sickening to watch. If anyone has found a workaround with newer drivers, please post it here, otherwise were forced to be stuck with 327.23 for now.

+1 Having the same issue. The latest drivers where 3d blu-ray playback worked properly for me was 337.50. Running on Win 8.1 x64, GTX 690, hooked to a TV via HDMI. Reported the problem a while back, but the problem is still not fixed.

I would just like to confirm that I have this same exact issue with the latest drivers. 3D is completely unwatchable. I got to the point where I thought this was how 3D was supposed to look. Luckily I found this thread.... Downgrading to 337.50 did the trick, 3D back to normal. Btw I have 2x GTX 780 Ti and an i7 4770k connected via HDMI 1.4 also windows 8.1x64 It's a weird issues, fast moving scenes are like blurry or the 3D is way off or something.

Question: Is anyone experiencing this issue while running Windows 7? I'm just wondering if it is an 8.1 issue or not.

It's been 7 and a half weeks since the last nvidia driver and we haven't even had an acknowledgement yet! I have a 1080p 3D projector and a 4k monitor. The nvidia control panel doesn't even have a 4k resolution option with the old driver I need to get 3d to work! I have to keep swapping drivers depending whether I'm watching a film or playing a game. THIS IS A FUNDAMENTAL PROBLEM WITH YOUR SOFTWARE STOPPING YOUR HARDWARE FROM BEING FUNCTIONAL! SORT IT OUT FFS! It took me days to work out what the problem was and after I do the fault finding for them they can't be bothered to fix it! Never mind fix it, they can't even be bothered to acknowledge it. Last Nvidia card I'm getting. I've always praised Nvidia for their superior drivers over AMD over the years but not any more! There's shooting yourself in the foot and then there's committing commercial suicide! They are probably too busy patting themselves on the back for making the over priced under performing 880 GTX and choosing which colours to make the PCB etc. Meanwhile back at the camp we have deal with the shi**y end of the stick PULL YOUR FINGER OUT!

As I feared, new driver is out 343.11 and they havent fixed the issue... going back to 337.50 for normal bluray playback.... big dissapointment, they just broke something, im sure it's an easy fix, as previous versions worked correctly, but they just don't care and ignore the issue.

That's another 4 weeks to wait until they fix it, well, maybe! Go green team! I'm getting a network enabled bluray player and or a media streamer. Nvidia you should be ashamed of your shoddy drivers and feature support. Not being able to watch 3D bluray!!!!! Why the hell did I pay for this 3D TV Play?? I want my money back!

Yea I decided the same, no use waiting for fix, I'm just gonna buy bluray player, NVIDIA failed on 3D completly, gaming is also poorly optimised for 3D VISION, so im just using TriDef 3D, works a lot better.

I can report the same issue as well. Windows 8.1, Geforce GTX 680 and tested on 340.43 and 340.53. I submitted a bug report a couple of weeks ago via online chat and email support. I do get sick of the deniability. They told me they hadn't heard of this issue before despite the fact that GibsonnRed had submitted the issue at least two weeks before I did. I still haven't heard any acknowledgement of the issue. I'm really fed up actually. Interesting thing is that it seems the problem may have started with 337.88 driver..... I think. Instynct noted back in post #20 that he tried 337.50 and it was fine. It was suggested by the nVidia support guy to try 337.88 (the next driver up) but the issue was still there. I haven't had an opportunity to try 337.50 yet but can anyone confirm if there is a difference between 337.50 and 337.88? I have gone back to 320.49. I mentioned to them that when in 1080p 24Hz/23Hz resolution there seems to be a “fake” 3D effect being applied over everything, whether it be desktop or standard 2D movies or even 3D movies. It seems that this FAKE 3D effect is being applied over GENUINE 3D Blu-ray movies causing a variance in 3D depth, mainly in scenes with movement, which is very sickening to watch. I Have also noticed that scene transitions seem to swipe from right to left. It could be that this "fake" 3D effect algorithm is based on movement of objects, ie foreground objects move faster than background, hence why it is more noticeable on moving scenes.

This seems correlated to the introduction of the fake-3D/CM drivers. A couple of things worth trying based on that thought. Enable the advanced options in 3D control panel. Then, when running blu-ray, try hitting ctrl-alt-F11, which disables fake-3D in games. The fake-3D is also not kicking in on games without profiles. Try using NVidia Inspector to delete the profile for your video playback software. That would force fake-3D off.
