The Witcher 2 in 3D Vision Official thread from NVIDIA

Important to note that only outdoor shadows are rendered in 2D. Indoor shadows are 3D but the depth/convergence on them is still screwed up. So the game has two concurrent shadow anomalies.

I hope he is actually reading up on this but it may have just been a "drive-by" posting.

Just curious.. is the shadow problem occuring on which driver versions? WHQL 270, the new WHQL 275 and the new 275 beta?

I'm using 275.50, the one that was meant for TW2.

Nevermind I take that back. For some reason I thought I remembered 275.50 having a special fix in it for when TW2 1.3 was finally released but I was mistaken.

275.27 was the first driver that fixed the rendering issues with the game originally. I am on 275.50 now but I doubt rolling back the driver is going to fix this issue.

Just rolled back to the last WHQL (275.33) and it didn't fix the problem.

Somehow I don't think that drivers will fix this problem and it will be up to the developers. Seeing as they took a long time on the 1.3 patch, are full bore working on the Xbox 360 port, and posted that the issues are "fixed" as far as they are concerned, then we might be SOL.

I wonder if Nvidia payed them any money to get that 3D Vision Ready logo on the retail box. I am sure that it probably helped the game make a few more sales because of it.

I bought my 3D vision setup for Witcher 2. 580 120hz montior and glasses. There is a nice sale for Nvidia. I'm completely happy with 3D so don't regret it but Witcher 2 not working is a real bummer. The blame rests with CDPR in my eyes. Just wish the new drivers would come out soon because the out of memory bug is screwing with me in World of Tanks.

Apparently the patch has been a buggy mess so far, and not just for 3D Vision. Seeing all sorts of problem topics over at Gamefaqs (not my favorite board but at least they're active).

CDPR is sounding more and more like a group of incompetents.

The problems were introduced WITH this patch. They broke shadows when they "fixed" the 3D performance for the game.
