world of warcraft 3d stereo doesn't seem to work for me...
I recently bought some 3d glasses and installed forceware 91.31 (and the 3d stereo package)

With some games (oblivion and age of mythology) it looks just great!
But somehow WoW doesn't seem to like it..
if i run it in directX mode the screen just turns black and some random textures appear at random intervals in random colors...
if i run it in opengl mode it works for around a minute, then the colors turn weird and the "3d feeling" disappears...

has anyone got any ideas

ps. ive turned off full screen glow and hardware cursor (according to a few pages that should be enough..)

Can you be a little more specific? What's your graphics card? What's your monitor?

My E-Dimensional glasses work fine in World of Warcraft. The only things I had to do were turn off "vertex animation shaders" and with it "smooth shading", and turn off multisampling/antialiasing. For me, every other setting is enabled and maximized, including "full screen glow" and the hardware cursor.

Also, you say "when you run it". Does this mean it does this when you actually run the program, or at the login screen, or after you've made it in-game?

Turn everything off and to the bare minimum settings (in WoW and nvidia control panel). Make sure no other programs are running using DirectX or OpenGL. Restart WoW, then try again.

I don't think this will help, but it's easier to help with a simpler config.

For that matter, disable all interface mods. From the screenshot it looks a little like an interface problem.

If it still won't work, open the nVidia config page and go to the "stereo compatibility settings" page and check those options. If they're already checked, that could be the problem too. You might try it with different settings there.

Could also be resolution or refresh rate settings in WoW, though I very seriously doubt it. My vertical sync is off, 85hz 1600x1200, no AA/MS.

ok, ill try turning off some settings, but i doubt its an interface problem since everything works fine until i turn on the stereo thing.

One thing might be worth mentioning: im not using "real" 3d glasses, just some paper-and-plastic ones with one red eye and one blue. (I think its called anaglyphic)

still no difference.
if i play with opengl and turn on the stereo before logging in the login screen (with the stone-thing) looks nice and works (for more than a minute) and i can log in and see my characters also, but if i try to enter the game crashes.
if i turn on the stereo after entering it works until i start turning around and moving around (loading new textures?). then it just kinda turns off and in some cases the colors go weird also.

If this is because of the wow settings, then it must be in the config.wtf file.
Can you please post the contents of your file here? (It contains nothing personal, just the wow settings)

And also, what version of forceware/3dstereo are you using?

Hi,

I also have the same problem with WOW. I tried many things during last 2 weeks, and it seems that it is a problem of 6600 card interacting with new drivers, or new patches from WOW. Because it works on 7600, and 7800 drivers.

I tried running older versions of drivers, but the same thing. I haven't tried going back to 78 though...
