At times like this I wish I had a job and not being retired.
I can barely make ends meet.
Is it just me or is the 1000 series really expensive?
My 980 had three monitors, one DP, one DVI and finally one HDMI.
I'm happy that my DELL U2410 had a DP port. It's a flexible monitor.
I can run consoles as old as NES on it with minimal problems.
I'm pretty happy with my ASUS VG278H as well.
I don't have a TV at all as I don't want to pay the TV license fee.
Back on topic my ASUS needs to run on DVI as HDMI is clearly inferior. 1080p24hz no good 3DTV Play.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.

The 1080 Ti founder's edition comes with a display port to DVI adapter.
Hi Zig would that work for 3D at 120hz tho?
I don't know I only own 3D TVs but I assuming so.
I would assume that it would be a passive adapter, just like the one that manufacturers have included for several years now. In which case, it will not work.

I guess it doesn't matter about DVI-D for me now. I just purchased an ASUS PG278QR and I'm happy now. But it still would be nice to have DVI on the non-reference cards so I could use my old monitor for 3D Vision in the case this one needs to be sent in. If these pictures are real, then they will have a DVI port.

I read somewhere that it had been confirmed the DVI adapter supplied is 60hz max.
Looks like they are out of stock world wide anyway, I suggest waiting for mid april when the custom cards start rolling out which will have dvi ports
In other news looks like Vega performance has been leaked and not surprisingly is no match for the 1080ti

There's rumors that Volta is dropping down to 12nm, which should make a big improvement in the performance per watt as well as heat generated.
Volta should be the first consumer HBM2 product fron Nvidia and would feature a stacked memory architecture.
But it's not a true die shrink, it's more like a 16nm tweak.

Anyhow, the speculation has been that we will see Volta before the end of the year.
Recently, references to a new Volta related ID have been found in a driver release, PCI device ID is 1D81 = Graphics Device GV100
Not those "founders" or "reference" versions... Real aftermarket ones like this is coming soon:
https://www.asus.com/us/Graphics-Cards/ROG-STRIX-GTX1080TI-11G-GAMING/
Asus, Evga, MSI and others will have ones with dvi when they release their custom cooler versions.
You will have to wait a week(s) or more for those though but they are coming soon!
Welp....its here with DVI and all

Still, it's getting dubious. Might be harder to find them for the 2000 series then just about impossible in the 3000s. Maybe it's time to update this old Asus before "3D Vision compatible" monitors vanish.
