3DV2 options for DVI-less 1080Ti or GT1080Darbee projector?

Well, I can confirm that 3D functions with a displayport connection to my Asus VG248QE, with no need for a $100 adapter. Getting things to work well is another matter, but that's a really good sign. Thanks again! Biggest problem I seem to be having is the well documented big red "attempt to run Stereoscopic in non-stereo display mode" overlay. I followed this workaround here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/977745/3d-vision/how-to-guide-custom-resolutions-and-3d-vision/1/ (But unfortunately that seems to be an outdated method.) Would appreciate any advice on that, but I'll take my other questions to existing, more appropriate threads in the future. Again, thanks! I've seen that "need an adapter" thing in a couple of different forums, so it's a good thing I asked here first!

So am I to assume the problem occurs with the monitor or projector. Hmmm, checks magic 8 ball, "Reply hazy try again" Hmm, gets the same answer when inquiring about the game(s) that are being a problem "Reply hazy try again"
