Polarized passive glasses
Very fast - no flickering - no ghosting - no headaches.
360 fields per second per eye at 1080P!!!!!!!!!!!!
lasers on LCOS - very fast, incredible colors, low power.
Old news. This TV will be shown at the consumer electronics show this week with more details.
I would not say the future of 3D as a whole but the future of 3D projectors. The interesting part is that it is in essence a dual-head system (similar to IMAX 3D) but with a single backlight and a single lens making it much easier to setup.
My main concern isn't about the price, it will come down in time but the rear projection technology.
Rear projectors have been abandonned in Europe, you can't find them anywhere. they have been replaced by LCDs and Plasmas because they are much slimmer, lighter and you can hang them to walls.
The same technology could become interesting as a front projector with a collapsable silverscreen i can hang to my wall.
