Benq projector problem
I have a problem installing 3dvision on a BENQ MW512 projector, I have Windows 7, Dual Athlon and a EVGA GTX550Ti graphics card, now the problem is that I can only
get the projector menu to switch to 3D in 800x600 resolution. I'm extending the displays between the projector and monitor, the projector being the 2nd, when I try
to install the Nvidia 3d setup on the projector it switches back to the native resolution 1280 x 720 which in turn turns off the 3d on the projector, this is driving me
crazy, any thoughts on this would appreciated.

The native resolution of that projector is 1200x800, so I'm assuming 800x800 was a typo?

Nvidia only supports frame sequential projectors at 1280x720 as far as I know.

Turning 3D on in the projector menu is usually used just to activate the sync signal for DLP Glasses.

Are you trying to game or watch movies?

Windows registry is only capable of detecting a single Display EDID. When I use my projector, I disconnect my monitor.

Also I think the 3D Display has to be your primary monitor.

The 3D option on the projector only is available in 800x600 not in 1280x720, soon as i try to setup nvidia 3d it jumps back into 1280x720 and turns off 3d option in the projector, the only way i've been able to see any 3d is with
stereoscopic player using software pageflipping but has terrible flickering, making it impossible to watch.

I want to be able to watch movies.

Which 3D Glasses do you have?

I see that the default EPROM settings for 3D are 800x600 and 1024×768 which are 4:3 resolutions. Since it supports a native resolution of 1280x800, 3D at 1280x720 (16:9) should not be a problem unless it's disabling the DLP Link signal and you are using DLP Link glasses. If you are using the Nvida 3D Vision emitter and glasses, using an Acer 5360 .inf to override the EDID should work, that is unless the DLP Link signal is not being disabled, in which case you may get a purplish tint to some colors with the Nvidia glasses.

Is the BENQ MW512 3D Vision compatible/ready? I don't see it on the list:

Because if it's not 3D Vision ready (you'll know because you either have it in your projector's 3D menu, or you won't). I had the Optoma GT720 and that was 3D Vision ready, but when that broke, I replaced it with the GT750 and that wasn't 3D Vision ready, so I returned it and got a BenQ W710ST. I couldn't be happier. :) If yours isn't 3D Vision ready, you'll need to use 3DTV Play.

But in case it is 3D Vision Ready, have you enabled 800x600 @ 120hz in the Nvidia control panel? (and also make sure the 3D Vision "sync" is enabled on the projector)

Thanks for your replay, the MW512 is not on the nvidia list, I presume its why it won't let me use the higher resolution in 3D.

Sorry I haven't replied sooner, when its running at 800x600 and i turn on the 3d sync, it becomes very bright almost unwatchable, i've noticed if i don't switch on the sync and fire up arcsoft tmm i get limited 3d flashing in and out and not bright, any ideas?
