Mine turned up a few hours ago....in short...I'm really pleased with this PJ.
Connected it with a 15ft DVI to VGA cable and installed the latest beta drivers and it was recognised straight away with no faffing about.
I've only had chance to try a couple of games incl COD MW2 and burnout paradise, also the nvidia test facility and there's not even a hint of ghosting even with the depth turned up to 100%.
One of the worst ghostings I'd seen on the Samsung monitor was the "fly me to the moon" trailer. I played this as well as the Nurburgring video and it looks just as good if not better than our local reald cinema.
There's plenty of brightness and the rainbow effect is no better or worse than any other DLP PJ I've tried out. I'm quite sensitive to this rainbow effect but when playing games in 3d I hardly notice it.
In the menu I have the 3d option set to off as this doesn't throw up the 3d warning splash screen each time the resolution/refresh rate changes. I'm not yet sure what the advantages of having this turned on but from what i can see so far it works just fine turned off.
Compared to the Viewsonic projector:
I had numerous problems with my VS projector but these could now have been fixed with the latest drivers, I might have had a faulty unit.
Pele, if you have NO issues now with your projector then it's probably not worth splashing out again to get this one unless you want the 1280 x 720 widescreen.
I'd certainly say the Acer locks on to changing resolutions faster and there's none of that strange colour wheel syncing going on.
Compared to the Samsung monitor (not seen the viewsonic yet)
Well, I can't say i'll have a use for this now, i'll probably ebay it. Even with the lower res, the difference in the ghosting is chalk and cheese...a world of difference. 3s vision really does come alive on a larger screen size.
Does the 3D ability of this projector in any way makes it less fit to use for watching normal dvd movies?
It looks just as good as any other 720p PJ I've seen in this price range, when not in 3d mode it's just like a normal beamer.
So all in all, I'm a happy Acer customer (first acer purchase) and can now look forward to playing all the oldies again but in big.

I have a question to the lucky owners of the acer h5360.
when playing 3d games (not just nvidia demo) like batman arckam asylum, do you see the 3d poping out of the screen or is it just a feeling of depth?
I recently saw 3d movies in dolby3d including avatar and there is nothing really coming out of the screen only a feeling of depth wich is very dissapointing compared to imax 3d movies when you feel that you can almost touch things that are coming at you.
thanks,
yoan.

Yes you do get pop out, due to the fact there is very little ghosting you can turn the convergence settings right up! Also, the further you are away from the screen the better the effect is. You can see this by viewing your monitor from the other side of the room, and obviously with a projector you are sitting much further away. I have tested with Batman and during the opening credits you can get the guards guns to poke right out of the screen to the point where you can reach out and touch them

It's good for europeans that Acer H5360 can normally work without vesa cable, because nvidia's glasses ship to europe without this cable and people need to find and pay for this cable additionaly.
2ALL:
Anyone used this projector in 4:3 mode ? (960 x 720)

In the PJ's menu you can choose the 3D mode (i.e. Nvidia 3D Vision). When you choose this option it says something like: "Running under 3D condition now. Don't forget to turn off 3D if you don't want to see 3D images...."
Does that mean you have to turn on and off 3D vision through the PJ's menu everytime you do your daily work with your PC. When using my Samsung 2233rz I never changed anything before or after playing games in 3D. I would really like to know if I have to disable 3D in the Acer's H5360 menu everytime I use my PC in non-3D-way.

I have a problem with this projector. In 3D mode, in some games, I am getting some color shifting. The picture gets purple for a few seconds, then goes back to normal.
This is repeating all the time. Also some parts of the picture get green.
Is this normal?
Also the projector is sometimes emitting screeching noises.
Is my projector faulty?

After some testing I found out, thát the colorshifting problem was due to using SLI @ DirectX9. After enabling single GPU mode on my GTX 295 the colorshifting stopped. Especially in the snow scenes of CoDMW2 I got those artifacts with SLI.
Of course disabling SLI is not a very good solution for me.
The hdmi cable is good quality and 5 m long, so I don't think, it is the problem for the noise. But I will do testing with another cable, which is shorter.
I am not quite sure yet, wether to keep this pj or not. On the plus side, you dont' get ghosting, which is very nice. On the other hand, I don't like the relative low resolution, you have to use.
Perhaps should wait for the announced full HD 3d beamer from acer, that will be released next year.

It looks just as good as any other 720p PJ I've seen in this price range, when not in 3d mode it's just like a normal beamer.
So all in all, I'm a happy Acer customer (first acer purchase) and can now look forward to playing all the oldies again but in big.
Merry Christmas everyone.

when playing 3d games (not just nvidia demo) like batman arckam asylum, do you see the 3d poping out of the screen or is it just a feeling of depth?
I recently saw 3d movies in dolby3d including avatar and there is nothing really coming out of the screen only a feeling of depth wich is very dissapointing compared to imax 3d movies when you feel that you can almost touch things that are coming at you.
thanks,

-will this PJ work withe edimensional glasses over VGA cable, like a regular 120Hz CRT display?
When connecting with hdmi cable, the vga dongle will not carry signal for my shutterglass.
(i have a 7600GT card with 162.50 drivers, and use this setup with CRT)
-how loud is in ECO mode compared for example to Infocus X9? (when viewing standard 2D movies)
-what about 100Hz 3D mode? (for viewing 50i HDV signals i need 100Hz)
-what about 24p? Can it work in 720/24p or in 1080/24p?
Thank you and merry christmas :)
