I have a question about the up and coming 3D Surround technology. I hope this is the right place to ask. /sweat.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I understand that the surround drivers haven't been released yet - this is a question for the future I suppose. I am planning on switching over (I'm currently using a Matrox Triplehead2Go) as soon as the drivers are released.
I am interested in utilizing Nvidia's 3d surround gaming technology when it is released - I have a GeForce EVGA GTX 295 Co-op Edition as seen in this article (http://www.evga.com/articles/00478/). It's stated on this page ( http://www.nvidia.com/object/3DV_System_Re...Technology.html ) that a single GeForce GTX 295 is capable of doing surround 3d. However, the Co-op edition of the GTX 295 cards only has 2 DVI ports. How is it supposed to utilize 3 monitors with only 2 DVI ports? I Inquired about this at www.Widescreengamingforum.com and someone told me it would use an HDMI port for the 3rd screen, however the Co-op editions of the 295 GTX do not have HDMI ports, but the earlier version of the 295 GTX did.
So, my question is - will the co-op edition of the 295 GTX not be able to use the surround gaming technology at all on it's own? Or will there be an alternative way of achieving 3 monitors (such as a dedicated PhysX card for an addition DVI port, etc. For example - I have an 8800 GT Superclocked 512 MB currently setup as a dedicated PhysX card, can I use that for the 3rd monitor? Will I need to find a second 295 GTX co-op edition? Or if I own a 295 GTX Co-op edition, am I completely out of luck?
Thanks to anyone that can shed some light on this subject! /turned.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':turned:' />
