I have bought an Acer 23inch last week and am really happy with both 2D and 3D....only lacking thing about it is that I would have bought a projector so increasing the size to 100inch :)
to be honest dont know what all the fuss about the Acer was about since its working perfectly well in both 2D and 3D and quality is fantastic

-The fuss? Just try that DLP setup eventually ;)
Good idea would be fixing the screen first ( SILVER!!).

Ladies and Gentlemen, I've settled with the ASUS VG236HE (the newer edition). Originally had the original ASUS 3D monitor but it developed a row of dead pixels within a week of ownership. Had this new one for a few months now and now complaints...
Of course, know not to touch the screen at all costs. If you need to clean it, turn it off first then wipe it very gently.
But thanks to all who replied and shared their knowledge!

I also have an ACER GN245HQ, which is nice because of the built in 3DVision support and the included set of glasses. But what I really hate about this monitor is the extremely long time it needs to detect a signal and to switch on. It's practically impossible to read the POST (bootscreen) because of that. Other than that, I'm quite happy with the monitor.
