If you click on the "Start" cuton and either in run or search type SERVICES.MSC and opent it.
I'm curious if NVIDIA Driver Helper Service and NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D Driver Service show up as started.
Also in run/search type troubleshooting, open it and click on "Hardware and Sound", then click on "Hardware and Devices", then n
"next" and view details. Does it l;ist a problem?
Another way to access this and more is to enable "God Mode" for w7. (maybe Vista and 8 as well?)
Right click on the desktop and select "new" > "folder"
Name the folder God Mode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
Double click the folder
This will enable a desktop shortcut to a menu with a list of a lot of different windows features. So much easier than having to navigate using normal procedures.

Hi Loonybin0,, thanks for your comments, we have been lucky to have such knowledgeable people submitting to this thread.
I personally am still waiting for a tier 2 support tech from Nvidia to get back to me, I am starting to think that that are a myth and don’t exist, been almost 2 months with no feedback from them, I keep hoping that every new driver will be the one to fix our emitter issues, but no such luck yet.
I would like to thank the people that are keeping an eye on this thread and supporting our efforts with detailed suggestions and workarounds.

It's a shame nothing's being done about this, just out of sheer curiosity is anyone having this issue with a 3D Vision 1 emitter? I know, besides my own, the model numbers that were posted were 3D Vision 2 emitters. When I was looking up a monitor in another thread about having to unplug/replug a VG278 monitor to get 3D to work I noticed the monitor came with 3D Vision 2 glasses, might be the same issue ... only hardwired into a monitor.

haha, I saw it on YouTube while looking at Windows 7 stuff. When I saw GodMode, I just had to try it.
Hi D-Man11, thanks for that shortcut, really neat trick.
Hi TsaebehT, I saw that issue also with the Asus Monitor when I was looking up the emitter, it seems to be same problem except they need to unplug the monitor and not like us just can do only the emitter USB. Still is very annoying in both cases.

i have an idea
as nvidia is refusing to take care of their customers
is it not our responsibility as good citizens to warn potential buyers that they should not purchase garbage?
i for one am involved in some rather influential websites. and have been there for a good many years.
i know i can make at least a little bit of a difference in peoples lives not being miserable by HORRIBLE EXPENSIVE investment.
then when nvidia gets their act together we bring the praise.
whatsay?

I say 3D has a hard enough time on it's own, it doesn't need more bad press for an issue that's only affecting a small percentage of users, considering technically we don't even know if it's NVIDIA to blame or the PC's motherboard. Many people were able to rectify the issue by changing USB power settings in the BIOS, and the majority of people aren't even experiencing the issue at all.
This might not even be an issue that they can fix ...

I agree with TsaebehT, we are not really sure what is causing this issue, what is disappointing is that Nvidia is not responding one way or another to this thread or my support request.
I have other friends who purchased this product, add no problems for a couple of days then bam same issue arises for them, so the motherboard cause would have to be a very general one since based on comments here and the people i have spoken with we all have different motherboards and different makes. This one is a head scratcher for sure and if the people who have posted here did not find a solution i wonder if there really is one or not.

well many weeks have gone by and still no fix to this issue, i have not even heard a word or follow up from Nvidia tech support, i guess they are hoping this just goes away and people will give up on it.

I doubt this'll work but have you tried force installing an older driver just for the emitter? I only ask because when I was poking around in all things 3D Vision I noticed there were different USB driver versions located in ...

Hi TsaebehT,
Where can we get older version of just the emitter driver? since all the ones i have are tested with the same results.
Thanks for staying in touch with this thread :-)
Unless something has changed, you'll get an error using an earlier emitter driver with a more recent driver. Starting with driver 275, Nvidia began to include the USB emitter drivers in the install package vs being a seperate download. A matched driver version requirement was coded into the drivers at this time.
Prior to 275, it was possible to use older USB emitter drivers with any driver.
Nvidia did this to stop people that were using the emitter emulator hack from using new drivers.

Update:
well installed latest Nvidia driver and still no luck issue is still there, can someone else give update once they installed latest driver?
Thanks
Hello. I have had this issue since 3xx drivers (I can't remember exactly what release), I wrote a lot of months ago this problem in this forum, with a ridiculous answer telling me that my usb cable was very large, or my MOBO did not supply enough power, or why not to format Windows 7 and reinstall.
I was supposed to be the only man in this world with such problem. What a surprise..., there are A LOT of people with the same problem. I even asked about what would happen if my emitter broke because of so many unplugs/plugs, and somebody told me that it will never happen.
I wonder why Nvidia do not spend a bit of money/time on making the driver a little more polished, instead of answer the easy thing: "it does not happen to me, I do not know anything about that".
It HAPPENS, it is an ERROR, and it is a driver error (it never happened until the arrival of certain driver release), not anything related to your hardware or configuration. Of course there may be a magical "cheat" to prevent this error, but that is not my/your job, it is Nvidia's guys job.
