Anything new coming out? Just wondering if nvidia has any plans for future tech
I have recently considered jumping ship from my 3d system , i have the 295 card and i wanted the 5970 ati card for one reason. Eyefinity. 3d is great and all but 180 degrees of vision on an fps is a dream! looking left to right just seems so cool. I was hoping that nvidia would develop something like that but where i can look 180 in 3d. Anybody know anything coming out this year? I have looked around but haven't found much yet =\

Yeah they have 3D Vision Surround coming out, it looks like its basically the same thing as Eyefinity, except it supports 3D as well. Of course, it won't be playable in 3D at those super high resolutions (for new games at least) on anything less than SLI Fermi most likely, but it costs to be the boss! At least the option will be there, and it will give a nice benchmark to use for the future. If a game requires SLI Fermi to be barely playable, in 2 years a single card will be able to do it no problem, look how long it took for a single card to max out Crysis.

ATI comes out with their eye-infinity and it's pretty much a small step up from the multi-mon technoogy we've had since the days of Windows 95..
*yawn*

At least 3D surround is a bit more than a small step up from 10 years ago.. Still, not exactly a big leap forward, but considering that ATI has absolutely 0 3D products right now to compete against it, nvidia's offerings are undoubtedly somewhat more impressive.

Its not really that impressive playing in 3d fps if you look and see somebody with amazing graphics still but they see 180 degrees, looking left to right in an fps is awesome.
