Jagged Alliance Back in Action - 3D Vision
Hey guys, I'm in the mood for some tactical action, of the "real time" variety. This genre is quite rare, and I only have Jagged Alliance Back in Action in this category. It looks perfect in 3D Vision, but the problem is that the developers did not consider 4K so the interface is so small I cannot see anything. I tried to put 3DMigoto in the exe folder, to try upscaling or SBS but nothing happens. I think it might be because the game might be DX9. The SBS/upscaling features are only for the DX11 version, right? Is there any other solution you guys can think of? Are there standalone products that can upscale games to 4K when they're played as 1080p? So sad that this real time tactical games are not being made recently. It seemed so cool when Baldur's Gate evolved tactical combat from the action point-based system of Fallout 1 and 2 into their "real time + pause" system. But nowadays there is nothing remotely similar to Jagged Alliance BIA :(

Thanks for the reply D-Man, however my issue is not that I cannot run an old game in 3D. It works perfectly fine. And there's almost no info about this game on PCgamingwiki or other sources. It's just that in 4K the interface is so small it's unreadable. And i was wondering if any wrapper feature, or any other program, can be leveraged to address this. But i might be out of luck.

So none of those apps in my post helped? dxOverride/chiri's resolution Have you tried turning Windows DPI scaling on/off? Or the checkbox "Override the scaling mode set by games and programs"
I think it might be because the game might be DX9.
This can easily be confirmed using MSI Afterburner

High resolution displays and DPI scaling issues.

Or "Perform scaling" on; GPU/Display scaling in Nvidia's control panel?

Or the checkbox "Override the scaling mode set by games and programs"

CHiri's override just forces the game into the desired resolution. Forcing is not needed in my case. Due to passive 3D the game must be played in 4K in order to have 3D, there is no other option. I confirm the program overrides the game settings and outputs at the resolution set in the ini. Windows DPI only affects the mouse cursor. The issue I have is the small text of the interface (inventory, vendors, character screen etc) The other options in NVCP don't have any impact. I think that "scaling" only refers to how an application is displayed across the display/screen. Thanks for the suggestions anyway. If I really wanna play this game I'll have to get better at squinting, or buy a pair of small binoculars, for when i need to know if my character has enough points in engineering to use that crowbar :-)
