DLP link 3d glasses
just received a pair of True Depth Firestorm XL DLP-link 3d glasses, although they never lose sync unlike the sainsonic glasses, they have a lot of crosstalk, more so than even using a 3d LCD monitor instead of a DLP projector... is there any way to fix this without getting another pair of glasses?

Return them to the place you got them from and say they're faulty. Personally I'm using Optoma ZD302, and I've heard the ZD301 is decent too. I had one pair of the ZD302s that let in too much red in one eye, and another that didn't sync correctly with one lens. But I sent those ones back and the replacements have been good.

is there any way to change the shutter frequency rate yourself? these may be shutting @ 144hz rather than 120hz, accounting for the crosstalk
is there any way to change the shutter frequency rate yourself? these may be shutting @ 144hz rather than 120hz, accounting for the crosstalk
If that were happening, you should be able to see it, because the two frequencies would beat against each other. You should see it come into zero-crosstalk, then back to bad crosstalk at a rate of 14Hz.

Not sure there will be anyone here with enough variety of experience to tell you that for certain.

I like the estar compared to the sainsonics because I never have to reverse sync the glasses. I do have swap eyes with an EDID override when I use it together with the 3d vision glasses though. Both of them didn't have any crosstalk either.

I am an OPTOMA guy as well when it comes to 3D DLP glasses(i still have 4 pairs of those) and I tested a lot of them including the true depth which are terrible i agree (what i found really annoying was the poor black contrasts). But when one of my kids broke an OPTOMA pair i tried a cheaper replacement since they're quite expensive...I tried the hi-shock dlp pro which i got fpr 30 EUR (VAT included). I hope you can find those where you live because for half the price of the OPTOMAS they're really as good. They are infact so similar that I suspect them to be an unbranded version of the OPTOMAs ZD302...you can check them out there : http://www.amazon.co.uk/ETXCC-TECHNOLOGY%C2%AE-Hi-SHOCK-DLP-LINK-shutter-blue/dp/B00KMSAA0U/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1409741167&sr=8-5&keywords=hi-shock+dlp
