3Dvision and ViewSonic VX2268wm - huge ghost effect ghost effects on top and bottom of the screen
Hello!
I used 3D vision before on CRT monitor - everyone who use goggles with CRT monitors knows well ghost effect troubles
so i decided to buy 3d monitor with official 3d vision support
well, i am dissapoint much
in the center of the screen everything just fine - greate effect and VERY low ghost effect - actually you will never saw it if you dont seek it. BUT
about 2 or 3 inches from top and bottom of the screen there is... no it's not a ghost effect - it's just absolutely absent of goggles and monitor synchronize. so i see BOTH of frames with 2 or 3 inches from top and bottom of the screen with no any ghost effects - i just see this frames - object doubles in there. especially good to see dark objects on bright background like a dark tree on the sky - i just see 2 trees clearly
i tryed another cable, another versions of drivers, tryed this with another games - the same effect all the time.
is it normal or i have diffective monitor? or may be there are some settings i should know about?
please, help!
thank you!

Sounds exactly like the issue we have with the Samsungs. Not many have the VX, but its interesting to see a similar experience. Apparently its down to the way the screen refreshes itself top to bottom so that when it reaches the bottom end of the screen, the top end has become out of sync and vice-versa. There used to be a timing registry you could edit in the old xp drivers to help mitigate this issue, but this functionality has since gone with the 3d vision product.
The new screens and projectors do not appear to be exhibit this issue so i guess we are SOL for getting this sorted without buying a new display.. :(

This is a well known problem with Samsung/Viewsonic and there are several threads about this that you may want to do a search for. Basically you should call customer support asap and it may come to returning the product.

Can you demonstrate it by video or photo shots taken through one glass lense?
well, it's hard to make video becouse i need make it through the glasses and i think my phone camera couldn't shows this well
but i'll try nearest time anyway
is say true i saw it some later after playing some time. probably after using CRT with goggle when i experienced to "ignore" ghost effects that was just everywhere i can live with it. but anyway this fact dissapoint

refreshing seems to be the real cause of this problem indeed. well it's sad a bit
what about projectors and new display... projector is not a way of solution for me. what about new monitors - as i know there is only 2 models still have 120 hz support. and moth of them have the same issue

Ksyon I totally feel your pain, as you are well aware I'm suffering as are many others from the same problems as you.
I have spoken to Nvida direct and they have said they will put it to the developer to see if it is a possibility to maybe incorporate some kind of sync slider in a future driver set.
We don't know for sure if they will, but if they are in any doubt if it's required, they need only look at the amount of threads popping up like this. Whats more, with Christmas just past and 3D really taking off, more and more people are purchasing these sub par displays. It's going to upset a good amount of people if Nvidia can't come up with something.
Problem is, It's not really Nvidia's fault. Although I'm unhappy that they are slapping stickers and accrediting hardware that is not providing the full experience. The likes of Samung and Viewsonic should not be releasing these displays in this state.

well all we can do is just waiting i see
this effect does not ruin whole the gaming process but i think i probably wouldnt take this monitor if i was noticed about this issue and would wait for something more usefull

I don't think that is an issue with your monitor but an issue with the drivers. I have a CRT and on some games I get that same effect... I think its that the shutter glasses are changing frames a lil early or late compared to the refresh rate of the monitor... but I am not too sure of that either.. but its just something you will have to get use to and most games the bottom of the screen is usually some 2D hud anyway.
