You Can Now Install or Move Steam Games to a Second Drive
The sad thing, this has been possible since 2012. Unfortunately, when looking for a solution back in 2014, I overlooked this article about doing it via opting in to Steams Beta and applying "dev" mode to the .exe
https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/09/11/finally-an-in-built-way-to-choose-steam-install-locations/
Instead I used SteamMover https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/760693/
Well it seems that Steam sometine during the past year or two has added the feature that was only available in "dev" mode previously, to their general released Client patches.
Now, they have also somewhat recently released a patch that allows you to move a game between the folders.

Anyhow, for those of you that did not know that these features have been added, I'm sure that you will find it a welcome addition, as did I.

That part of the interface to move games between libraries isn't even translated for me (to Spanish) :p. But yeah, it's great to have it now officially (I haven't tried it yet). Having to use SteamMover was annoying.

Choosing your install location has been available for years. I have Steam games spread over three different drives. Never thought about moving them without reinstalling though - that could be useful.

This is a good addition. I'm surprised they took this long to add this, because bandwidth costs them money, and it'd save people bandwidth and time.
I've been doing something similar for quite awhile. You can move an install folder anywhere you want, then point the installer at that folder and hit Install. It will discover the files are already there and do a verify instead of a full download. BTW, both Uplay and Origin do this now too.
I use that mechanism to move folders from one machine to another, by putting them on a fast USB3 external drive.

BTW, it's worth noting that you can use this technique of just copying the entire game folder to backup your current game.
You know, for when it's actually working before Steam force-feeds you an update that breaks the 3D. You can then restore the game folder and don't do a verify, and Steam will allow you run the old version that still works.
If you are in the middle of a playthrough, do it now. Don't get stuck having to wait for us to make an update to games.

It's also handy for mod switching. For instance, DarkStarSword's mod makes Dead or Alive 5's 3D work a lot better than the default but it interferes with AutoLink, which lets you add modded costumes and slow down the game for better screenshotting. All I have to do to switch between them is to rename a couple of folders!
You do need to be careful with your saves with some games/mods. You may need to rename your save game folders, too.
Anyway... yeah, the Steam Drive location is hugely handy for dropping your most favorite games on a smaller SSDs.
