For those who do not know, SKY Digital in the UK have launched a 3D channel which is currently at the previews stage, full launch due this autumn. There has been a lot of chat on other forums about this and the pitfalls for setups outwith a standard 3DTV. The 3D format chosen is a Side by Side 1080i image. The set top box has no ability to change this signal or power Nvidia 3D vision glasses directly. Also, the HDMI output has HDCP protection. Basically, the aim is to be able to watch live TV on my Acer H5360 PJ using Nvidia glasses. Ok, so the two options I have considered so far are as follows -
Sky HD box >> HDMI Cable >> HD Fury (takes a HDMI signal, removes HDCP and outputs component/VGA) >> Component cable >> Component Capture Card >> Live feed to either NV Player/SS Player >> Output 120Hz FS through VGA to PJ
OR
Dreambox/DVB2 Set up (more info) >> Live feed to either NV Player/SS Player >> Output 120Hz FS through VGA to PJ
Although option 2 seems shorter, there are a lot more things that could go wrong, one of which being that sky could change their cards again and they may no longer be compatible with the dream box. The costs for each excluding the Sky box, PJ and PC are both around £150
So does anyone think the above options would be the best way or do we have any other ideas?

I have mine set up as per your option 2. I have tested this with the 3D test channel that is being broadcast on the Eurobird 9deg Satellite.
Simply change channel on the dreambox to the 3d channel. Launch the dreambox web control on your pc and click the stream link (This will download in m3u playlist file). Copy the url from this playlist file and paste it into Streoscopic player!
Only problem I have is it sometimes 5-6 times to get it to start streaming. Keeps coming up saying the playback graph has no video stream (Any ideas anyone). Once it starts it works flawless.
Of course my problem now is I don't have the FULL Sky package so I'm not entitled to the sky 3d channel. And even if I was they request the serial number from your 3d tv before they will enable it on your card! Don't think they would accept the serial numbers from my projector/dreambox/pc :P
Apart from that though everything works fine!!!
Matt.
what content do they have?
They have a 50minute(ish) HD Loop player. It has the nurburgring video, a bit of basketball with cheerleaders, a 3d macro video, some adverts for a fiat car, a model photoshoot video, some dodgey mime bloke and a rock concert.
Not sure if they plan on adding any new stuff at any point.
