Crysis 3 - 3D fix discussion
A little teaser: ... I start to fix Crysis 2, and found the same issue with reflection (but with different pattern in shader), there are one type of reflection that is only a 2D image, not a real reflection. In Crysis 3 is present in water when you look down...in Crysis 2 is present in water and some windows. And damn in this game they abuse of some HDR effects....they go crazy with that effect. I disable a few of them because they really are anoying. Also i found a possible wrapper issue that preventing water to move (movement of the ocean for example) when you start the game. I fix 4 ds related to that (ASM bug maybe?). BUT, if i hit F9 (Hold this key to temporarily disable the fix) and release, the effect of water movement is back and works ok with all others fixes. @flugan / bo3b....any of you have Crysis 2?
Ah, nice, that is looking terrific! I do have Crysis2 as well, and I can take a look. Point me to the right shaders and I can take a look. If the DS is not installed, does the water move? (but look wrong of course)

Looking real cool DHR, great work you've been doing on both Crysis 2 & 3. I've held off playing due to the disappointing fake 3D Crytek implemented on these games. It'll be nice to have real 3D on them, thanks for your efforts!

@Stryker_66 You can still have a great experience with the fix. I'm still looking for water reflections. http://helixmod.blogspot.cl/2015/08/crysis-3-dx11.html

Hi, guys many thanks for the fix! Fix is great on single gpu, however i experience some visual artifacts when in SLI. My config is in the sig, i'm running win 7x64 and driver 350.12 (clean install) in game sttings are Very High. As you can see on the pics, when in SLI there is some blacked textures and missing objects (only in one eye). The game is running at 40-50 fps when in SLI but is somehow laggy, while on single gpu is more smooth even at only 20-25 fps. http://imgur.com/a/i2lvz

i don't have SLI, so i can't test myself....also bo3b reported the same with Crysis 2. And also in the lichdom thread other user report issues with SLI on. So is clearly an issue in SLI with this engine. i'm also using 350.12 driver. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/852684/lichdom-battlemage-cryengine-3-shadows-fixed/?offset=70#4615948 Try changing the SLI bits with Nvidia Inspector....maybe use another profile, try with Tomb Raider and Witcher 3 (this last one remember to disable nvidia fake3D with CTRL+ALT+F11). Please report back.....any solution on this will help any other CryEngine game in SLI.

Ok, there is 2 SLI bits i found to eliminate the black textures and to scale well in SLI: [.]SLI compatibility bits (DX1x) 0x080222F5 (Batman: Arkham Origins)[/.] or [.]SLI compatibility bits (DX1x) 0x000121F5 (BioShock Infinite)[/.] The only problem that remains is when looking/pointing/zooming at specific direction, object or effect (not sure what exactly), the 3D becomes flat 2D. I can't explain it other way, so i made a short video if anyone is interested. https://youtu.be/PEN21f3T9QM

@mihabolil First i want to thanks for testing and uploading that video. Really appreciate! Is possible to configure that video to Side By Side format...i can't reproduce that video in 3D in my system with blue/red format....sorry. But i can see time to time the image is 2D, kind of random Also can you test with those SLI bits and removing the part in the d3dx.ini with "deny_cpu_read=1", including the hash # in the upper line. Those line are in the bottom of the file. THANKS!!!

Hi, youtube is bugged again i suppose, will upload the video somewhere else. I removed "deny_cpu_read=1" and the Hash above it, but it made no difference (or too little to notice). here video direct link https://www.mediafire.com/?uks951tbbd4pzfp

I hate to ask this because i can't test my self... but if this is not working, can you test all SLI bits? Thanks for all the help mihabolil !!

I don't mind telling me what to do, because i have no idea what to look for. Some "F5" ending bits got more black textures (in one eye), others made only my arms completely black (in one eye), others will start the game with some black bits and wrong shadows/reflections and will clear out after moving around. Need to retest ALL bits later and to make complete list.

Can you try with this SLI bits: 0x02506405 Also can you try with MSAA disabled. Try using this command in the config file: r_PostMSAAEdgeFilterNV = 0 (Enable/Disable nvidia's edge filtering/fxaa algorithim), i read in other forum people using SLI report artifacts in 2D, disable fix it....so this worth the try. Thanks for testing!

Hi, SLI bits: 0x02506405 causes black textures in one eye. These are the least problematic and the best for SLI Scaling bits: 0x000020F5 (Anno 1404, Lords of the Fallen, Just Cause 2, Warframe, ArcheAge) 0x000120F5 (F1 2010) 0x000121F5 (BioShock Infinite) 0x0001A0F5 (F1 2011) 0x000820F5 (World Of Warcraft) 0x002121F5 (BioShock, BioShock 2) 0x080020F5 (Dark Souls II, Alone in the Dark: Illumination) 0x080222F5 (Batman: Arkham Origins) The good news is that i found what causes the 3D to become 2D sometimes (: - the key is to set OBJECTS to MEDIUM or LOW! Setting SHADOWS to HIGH or lower resolves the black arms in one eye. Simple fix, but i can't do anything else except disabling the settings - sorry. There is some lights or reflections I'd like to remove but will try it later. I've added "r_ssao = 0" and "r_ssdo = 0" in the config, but I'm not sure if this is the right way to disable occlusion. That's all for now, thanks again for the great fix!
