Dual Head Surround ( Side-by-Side)
Probably I have missed a information about ability to Span Two Monitors in Surround Mode. I remember that this was long time request to Nvidia. Anyway I did that on my Dual Projection (Passive 3D) setup and now I am playing Crysis 3 in 3D. Amazing - like Crysis 2 before. I belive that I can do it the same way with Rise game and othr developed on CryEngine. I also remember that some of Us been using SBS mode in 3Dtv play to play other games. Will have to give it a try. Maybe DDD will serve me after all I paid for it and never used.

Yah, I saw this awhile back in the surround forum and couldn't find any definitive information on it. http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/616188677588482251/ I was calling it Dual view for whatever reason, lol. I tried to get it to work without any luck, so I started a thread, but no replies. I also PMd a few people at Steam and the surround forums before I gave up for the time being. I'll be very interested in any further info you can pass along. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/800591/?comment=4410537 I asked Blackshark in a HDMI 2.0 thread if he thought it would work, but he didn't think so. He uses a Radeon in Span Mode with his Dual Passive setup. http://www.avsforum.com/forum/191-3d-displays/1299974-my-passive-polarised-dual-projector-setup.html

Interestingly, I've seen a few posts mentioning that Nvidia is allowing span again for dual displays. Isn't that how you do it on your Radeon, by using span?
At the moment, I output side by side at full resolution (3840x1080), span is not enough, with dual projection you also want frame-lock so that the pictures are updated simultaneously in both eyes at every V-sync, and in the future when it's available at each adaptive-sync/G-sync update. Unfortunately the frame-lock feature is traditionally reserved for professional cards (quadro, firepro). Simply spanning the desktop on a consumer card will often result in asynchronous updates or 1-frame lag between the eyes. But you can achieve frame-lock reliably if you use Eyefinity. I haven't used an Nvidia card in a while but I believe you'd have to use the Surround feature to get the same quality of sync. Only hdmi frame-packing keeps a constant frame order, which is why only hdmi 2.0 would fully solve the output/input problem.
For Ryse you can edit the ini to use dualhead. http://docs.cryengine.com/display/CRYAUTOGEN/CONSOLEPREFIXR#AnchorRSTEREOMODE

The problem with Crysis 3 was that i couldn`t play it in Dual Head mode like i did with Crysis 2. Strange to was that i had same options activated and the work well on other output configurations. This time thanks to that Surround option i can put this game in SBS mode and play like i did in Dual Projection system. Disappointing is that even that won`t render separated views even if setup say so.

So is span setup in the surround tab of the nvcp? Does it require a GTX 9XX GPU? Which driver are you on? AFAIK span on the Quadro required using mosaic and then a registry hack. http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2941/~/how-to-setup-horizontal-span-mode-with-overlap-on-windows-7 I'm sure you know that dual head support was originally in the GTX drivers and selectable in display devices. Now, it's only a selectable output mode in the Quadro menu.

Yea it is. The span use to be only in three screen setup and now you can do it with two screens. So i`ve end up with resolution 3840x1080 and then activated (through cfg file) SBS mode and been able to play like old Crysis 2. Now i am trying to get DDD in SBS mode so i can force this game to play Real 3D through theirs fix.

I am on gtx680 in SLI and latest drivers (347.25). It is so much fun to play some games on big screen and this way you have full refresh rate and full hd res. Also i am driving full motion car simulator so i need this big screen to keep me immersed. Small screens sucks when car/simulator moves all over the place.

If you want to use Tridef with side by side 3840x1080 without squashing (to keep the full pixel ratio), you'll need to use the resolution override registry keys http://www.tridef.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3325 Your games will believe they run 1920x1080, but Tridef will actually switch to 3840x1080 automatically.

More funny/annoying to me right now is the fact that i`ve lost my activation key or in rage i throw it away and can`t activate new version with trial. Fail.
