I saw an animated GIF once that gave sort of an "artists impression" of the 3D stereoscopic effect, showing a jet with the trail going off the monitor, some robo arms or something coming out and someone blowing up a tower and having the shrapnel fly off the screen. I was trying to find it again to show a friend who can't seem to grasp the concept but I cannot remember where I saw it anymore.

Doesn't really give a very accurate impression of what 3d Vision does, though. It really creates depth more than pop-out effects.
Tell your friend it turns the monitor into a "window" into the game world, and that world on the other side of the window is as three dimensional as reality.

There is a lot of sour grapes in the comments section on the video page. It amazes me how people can justify hating something without even knowing what it really does. >.<

I suppose, but it is a shame though since it might keep people from actually trying it and realizing how amazing it is.
Cool thanks. I kept hearing about out of monitor effects.. so it really doesn't do that very much? Someone said that WoW has some sort of dragon flying out of the monitor and landing on top of it or something. I was pretty skeptical about that, heh. It sounds cool though anyway, so I'm ordering the bundle on faith that it will be awesome :)

The Sad part is that the video is a litle misleading.
However it's still a great experience. I just wish i had a larger monitor or even a projector

The "pop out" effect (i.e. an object coming out of the screen towards you seemingly in space) is dependent on game animation. Currently, most games simply aren't animated with stereo 3d in mind, so there aren't a lot of pop out effects in gaming. For the most part, it's more a feeling of looking through a window at a fully three dimensional world on the other side (which believe me, is PLENTY impressive). The 3d Vision glasses are plenty capable of seeing things pop right out of the screen (as evidenced by the nvidia logo test screen), it's just that there are currently very few animations designed to work that way.
Although there are a few pop out effects in games like WoW (the dragon), LOTRO (spiders in FoS), etc. As stereo technology becomes more the norm, I'm sure we'll see gaming animation programmed to take better advantage of it.

You have the pahncrd ultimate guarantee that you will not be disappointed. /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> This is the coolest upgrade I have done in the last decade. For me, the experience difference was like the switch from 2d rendering to 3d rendering back in the day.
