I've been browsing the web looking for an alternative to nvidia's 3D Glasses. I would love to have friends over and we all enjoy this 3D experience but $120 for a pair of nvidia glasses is just ridiculous. I've seen a few glasses slightly cheaper I'd say about 89 dollars. Now my question is will any active shutter glasses work with this nvidia vision? I am also buying a 3D television by panasonic. Would those glasses work?

Which 3D experience are you talking about, is the question. There are 4, and they have very specific needs.
3D Movies, require 3D tv with a 3D blueray player playing 3D certified movies using the TV manufactures glasses (eg not nividia glasses)
3D TV, as above but you don't need the blueray player but a cable connection to dedicated 3D tv channels.
3D console gaming, requires the 3D TV, the TV manufactures glasses and at the time of posting works best with the PlayStation 3.
3D pc gaming and video/movie watching, requires a compatible computer , pc running vista or windows 7, nividia graphics card (preferably a GTX400 series card) and either the 3DTV Play software (not yet released, but is in beta testing), which will work with the TV manufacturers glasses or the nvidia glasses with just the latest graphic and 3D drivers.
So basically it depends on what it is you want to do (I'm trying to work out how to do all of the above  )

Ok well i have thw nvidia kit, 3d monitor and 470gtx. I watch movies and play games and so far its pretty good. What im asking is do i have to buy nvidia's glasses for an extra pair? Or can i buy a cheaper pair from a different company that will work with the nvidia 3d vision?
