Hello!
When I tried to play Medal of Honor - Allied Assault (GOG version) using the OpenGL 3D Vision wrapper I systematically get a crash.
I did not really find any simple instructions about how to use this wrapper but I guess I just need to unzip the opengl32.dll and the 3DVisionWrapper.ini files found in the x86 folder in the same folder where the game .exe file is?
Anyway if I change from "true" to "false" the Enable 3D Vision setting then the game starts normally.
Also, where can I find a list of OpenGL games tested to work with this wrapper?
At the website http://3dsurroundgaming.com/GameList.html there are only a bunch of them and all new. I am mostly interested in older games.
Any help?
Thanks!
What is the crash exactly? Does it give you a message?
I don't have that game. I didn't even realise is an OpenGL game lol;)

It uses idTech 3 Engine, so it should be viable to make it work with your wrapper.
But sometimes GoG adds there own weird wrappers into old games.
There's two Medal of Honor: Allied Assault games actually, Spearhead and Breakthrough (made in 2003)
The crash I am getting is a generic one saying: "[Name of the exe] has stopped working". It happens after the splash screen. Both with legacy mode set to false or true.
And I don't mind putting an effort to make things work but it has to be proportional to the benefit and, especially, it has to be sensible: not having a read me detailing the usage of a software is, in my opinion, a valid enough reason for moving from "hand holding" to "obscure".

Yah pictures would be nice too, especially with kittens and butterflies.
You should probably give up now and play in 2D, I can see that this is going to be too much effort. It's nice to know that I wasted my time providing links and information.
BTW, try running the game as administrator.

I did check the links you provided, D-Man11.
Sorry to read you feel you wasted your time. I play many games in 3D because, guess what, they usually work without people having to spend hours searching through obscure settings, posts or incomplete documentation (those bad guys at Nvidia even provide a compatibility list for noobies, can you believe it?). But I guess those people (me included of course) do not really "deserve" playing in 3D because, you know, they should have sweated and worked hard for the privilege.
By the way, I hope you approve that I have assembled this PC I am using myself: it would not feel so fair to play on it if I just bought it from Dell or something.
And I already run the game as administrator.

If it crashes on start-up I think something wrong is happening with the wrapper. Unfortunately I can't test it on all the game engines that use OpenGL that are "out in the wild" :(
I think somebody said it before, but you should also try "dgVoodoo" wrapper;)
http://dege.freeweb.hu/
I am not sure if it will work out or not. I will check my wrapper with this game in the future and see where the problem lies, but no ETA currently.
Hope this helps you out!

Well I don't know what I can say, I pointed you in the right directions. It's up to you whether you use that information to try to find a solution. You can complain all you want about about there not being some simplified documentation for this wrapper, it will not help.
This wrapper in most instances, is not just some drop in instant stereoscopic solution for novices. It's a means to and end, in games where it will work, but requires the that user make it work, if even possible with the games files/engine.
Perhaps you should simply use the same method that you used 12 years ago, when you played it in 3D before. It's unfortunate, that the driver support changed from then to now, but that's on Microsoft and their depreciating some things that were present in Windows XP, for both video and audio.
edit:try this, download the demo from 12 years ago and try it, if it works, GoG is the problem. Maybe remove the garbage wrapper that they have, if they do.

helifax,
thanks for the suggestion. Like you said, your wrapper is probably not compatible with the old Quake III Arena engine.
D-Man11,
I am thankful for your assistance because I know you used your time to try and help but let me point out to you that you did sound condescending in your reply mentioning "wasted time" and "pictures with kittens and butterflies". Peace.

Hello Helifax you can add support for Descent 3? I tried the wrapper but there is no 3d effect, the game load but without 3d stereo effect. Descent 3 use OpenGL v.1.2
Thank you.

Ohh! finally Descent 3 in 3d Vision, Hooray! thank you Stryker_66 you are awesome, here the link to tweak guide:

Soooo the DAY HAS COME ^_^
I am glad to announce that version 10.1.Beta of my OpenGL to 3D Vision Wrapper is released today!
So, you might wonder what is so special about it, well TO SUM IT up in as little as possible:
New Features:
- Stereo Reprejection based on the Depth Buffer.
- Full new UI for configuring the Wrapper, Dept3D and Geo3D.
- SBS, TB mode - independent of Nvidia 3D Vision.
- New Splashscreen mode.
- Reworked the Shader Manager and Shader swap routines.
Updates:
- Lots of optimisations and bug fixes!
The above is a big understatement, as the wrapper now almost tripled in lines of code and complexity!
(Still most users don't care, so the "nitty-gritty" is as stated above).
I plan to rework some of my previous fixes, but for this initial release, the following game fixes have been updated:
- Amnesia: The Dark Descent - Depth3D and Geo3D.
- Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs - Depth3D and Geo3D.
- DOOM 2016 - Depth3D and Geo3D.
- No Man's Sky - latest - Only Depth3D and Surround friendly!
The Help and Documentation page of the wrapper is here:
http://3dsurroundgaming.com/OpenGL3DVisionWrapper.html
If somebody wants to try some of the updated game fixes, I am looking for your feedback!
The new fixes are up at http://3dsurroundgaming.com/OpenGL3DVisionGames.html

I know that you hook into OpenGL pretty much at the very start to wrap it to dx11, but would there be a possibility of using a stencilbuffer to mask the odd and then the even lines to add line-interleaved support?

In short, yes, there isn't anything that I wouldn't be able to do, as long as the API allows it ;))
