The problem is the refresh rate, does DSR have any effect on it, anyway I am now looking at using an override if that is possible using a 2nd emitter, but thanks for the info.
I know. Im having the same problem if im not using that .bin file. The game will go to 720p@120hz no matter what and disables 3dtvplay. After importing that bin file, there is no other resolutions or refreshrates other than 720p60hz so the game has no choice but launch at 720p and 60hz.
Anyway, i think you can get the game working using my method, or using the edid override for 120hz 3d vision. Ive personally used both and currently prefer latter since i can use nvidia glasses with it.

Have you tried with DSR without using the .bin file, maybe it's DSR which is causing it to work as you said that it didn't work without using DSR. I have never used DSR, how does it work?
Can I use 1080p if I use an override or still only 720p?
@DHR
No, it had no effect setting refresh rate in d3dx.ini but thanks anyway.

Problem with dsr is that it automatically takes highest resolution available and uses that to determine downsampling resolutions. So without modifications its 1080p24hz with 3dtvplay. In theory it could work but 24hz is not enough for gaming. Enabling lowest dsr resolution for 1080p is 2103x1183 and choosing that resolution in-game would probably enable 3d, but only at 24hz. That is why i was already using cru before dying light to remove all other resolutions besides 720p so i could use dsr with 3d vision. Rendering a game at 1080p(dsr) makes a big difference to me compared to 720p and you can go higher downsampling too if your graphics card can take it.
And i dont now why my first boot was failure, second after enabling dsr worked and third one also which i had dsr disabled. DSR is really simple, its located under 'manage 3d settings' in nvidia control panel. You just enable it and new downsampling resolutions will appear on 'change resolution page' and they are available in-game of course.

Ok Sammy, I have downloaded your .bin file and will try what you suggest. I am using a GTX 780ti so I probably cannot go too high in DSR.
I installed your custom resolution file. I am using an ASUS 144hz monitor and Optoma 120hz projector which now has the custom resolution setting. It is now impossible to set only the projector active so I have to clone the displays but when I start Dying Light 3DTV Play is saying that the setting is 1280x720 at 144hz. Also it is now impossible to change the resolution in Dying Light - it is greyed out - although DSR is active. So I can't get it working and now I can't activate my projector any more for some reason so I'm giving up - Thanks anyway.

I knew about that setup but I use a monitor with built-in emitter which was what I used for games before I got the projector so I would have to buy a separate emitter for that to work, I assume - can you have 2 emitters and does it work over HDMI? Is there any disadvantage with using an override apart from the 24hz which I don't use anyway?
Yeah, I've got the same setup: I have a BenQ XL2420TX monitor with a built in emitter, which has basically become a paperweight since getting my projector setup, lol. I use a standard 3D Vision emitter that I had from my old 3DV1 monitor for my projector.
No disadvantages other than the fact that Windows will effectively think your projector is whatever projector the EDID is for, so the resolution/refresh options you have available to you will be based off of that, however that's where using the Nvidia Custom Resolution options comes into play.
I see some mention of people using DSR to achieve higher resolutions (and having some difficulty with it), and I used to muck around with that too, sometimes getting it to work, sometimes not, but then I found it easier/better to just create my own custom resolutions rather than let DSR automatically do that for me, plus it doesn't come with the additional processing overhead that the blur filter that DSR uses. It's a little tricky to understand how the custom resolution option works, but once you get it, then it's easy and there's no finicky mess that comes along with DSR.

HI DJ-RK, bit off topic but I sent you a PM? I'm after a copy of the H5360 EDID override that you're using as I'm really struggling to find one. Please let me know, thanks.

If I recall correctly, the one listed by Bloody is corrupted and doesn't work. There's another by kinggofg on page 3 that's from one of our posters, it has audio information merged into the extension block and he talks about it in a thread here somewhere, so it should be good to go. I got mine 4-5 years ago from some French site that did an article on using it for 3D Vision, I copy and pasted the document into a text file and renamed it .inf

Today i decided to take a deep look using Frame Analysis and NOW shadows/lights are fixed properly.
Now works on any FOV value and Convergence....so cinematics and running are working properly!.
So if the Dying Light "The Following" is running in the same engine...will get fixed properly!!
The fix is up in the blog

Thank you DHR ! That is great news before DLC.
It will be definitely on the same engine. Only thing that might be new are effects and they will get messed up. They probably updated same engine - althou I doubt.
