I'm finally taking this to forums because quite frankly, I'm not sure where else to go. I've been on NVIDIA tech support, even escalated to the office in America where I was told my problem has been recreated in their lab and it will be fixed in the next driver update.
Well, here it is Driver Version 257.15 and I STILL have all the problems I've had. NOTHING is fixed. As a matter of fact. It's worse
When i have 3D vision drivers installed (3D vision doesn't even need to be on) performance in games is drastically lower.
Crysis max settings (AA included) is about 80-90FPS @ 1920x1080
as SOON as i install 3d vision drivers (3D enabled or not) my FPS drops to 1-2 FPS.
Resident Evil 5. No longer playable in 3d. 20fps..insane amounts of ghosting even on the lowest depth/convergence
Batttlefield Bad Company 2.. FPS is dropped nearly in half when 3dvision drivers are installed (Again, doesn't even need to be enabled)
Steam STILL tells me it has no idea wtf a GTX480 is when i try to play L4D2. This is also no longer playable in 3d. As soon as 3d is enabled my FPS drops to 20 and the screen keeps jumping around as if i was shaking my monitor violently.

Yep its just how it is , youll usually gain back a good amount of FPS if you turn it off but there will still be a slight fps drop with the drivers installed
I have a single gtx 275 and i can barely notice the frame drop because of it though so it really doesent affect me.

-too bad , that with all the money you spent , you dont have a secondary pc with 2x GTS 250, and ACER H5360 running 3d in 720p in a nice light controlled enviroment.
Then you could play the Steam release ALIEN BREED today like no other. Ha!

Cut out 1 of your 480 and try 2 way SLI with the remainer, should rip really well, many reports of 3 way f**k-ups are around the web and 2 way success stories.

I would be annoyed too.. but like the other users suggest I would go down to 2 cards and use the drivers before the 257 series. I can't recall the exact version number but the ones before the 257's are pertty tight. I know it sucks but try and be patient with nvidia they will get everything you want working
in time. That's probably not what you want to hear but there is a way you can enjoy your system in 3d NOW if you really want. good luck !!

I'm burned by well... especially with my latest conversation with Nvidia...
My system isn't as pricey as yours but I would have purchased ATI if I had known this would be the response... I got Nvidia for the 3D
I've been around for a while, ATI/Nvidia user and no stranger to SoftTH for surround gaming. ATI's new eyefinity makes that easier.
I purchased a BFG GTX 295 card (I love BFG for Nvidia cards) because Nvidia lists it as the only card able to handle 3D surround on it's own.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dv-system-re...technology.html
I could have 3D surround now if they would just update there driver to allow me to save the 120Hz setting.
I have 3x Samsung SyncMaster 2233RZ monitors I can run 3D on two of them. The HDMI-to DVI-D will not run the 120Hz.
Before you say the cable wont handle it.. it's been confirmed that it will. By Nvidia, BFG, and... when I test it in Windows... I can set up a custom resolution,
and it "tests" out just fine, asks me if I want to save it. When I click "Yes" to save it.. it defaults back to 60Hz in the saved profile.
I contact Nvidia and they say (the first time...) It's a windows issue and they can't resolve it...
I contact Nvidia again... they then tell me it's a driver restriction and it will be updated in a future release... this was many drivers ago...
I contact Nvidia AGAIN... after this last driver release... they say that the 120Hz will never be supported out of the HDMI port on that card unless it's in 3D surround mode... ...So I can't just run the monitor in 120Hz? You will enable it for your driver program for one specific function but that's it? Just enable the #@$% function...
As the OP has stated... a lot of there drivers are causing issues... I don't want to deal with there mistakes all the way threw untill they figure it out if I can just run 3D surround now thanks to SoftTH... which could be done if they would just let me save the "approved by them, approved by BFG, approved by my Os" setting...
I also would have saved 800 bux on two more 2233RZ's I could have had 3 bigger monitors that weren't 120Hz for the cost of one of these... and spent the remaining money on a second card or any thing else... :P Plus the cost of the 3D glasses.
There marketing is very misleading lately. From the April release date, for this card to be able to support it on it's own... leading you to believe that all the out's should work with the appropriate settings to get it to work. I purchased every thing they listed on there site, and my build was budgeted around the ability to do this.
I have the same problem with it cutting frame rates as well. Some games wont even start with out a lot of tweeking... but usually after playing with it a while I can get them up and running (then I start working on the config file for SoftTH, can't complain about that though lol)
I wonder if my first post being this will get me banned heh...?

And that sir is Nvidia for ya, either they are never able to recreate an issue in the "Lab" or they say they have fixed something and the next driver still doesn't fix it or makes it worse.
Lift your game Nvidia your just becoming a joke with 3D vision.

Ok big question here...when you disable 3D do you actually go into the nvidia control panel and disable 3D or do you ctrl+t or push the button on the transmitter thing?
You have to go into the control panel and uncheck the box to enable 3D vision then hit apply or ok for it to fully disable 3D vision and not affect framerates.
If you're already doing that then I'm stumped.

I don't understand, it's when you install the 3D Vision Drivers, or when you enable 3D? I can't imagine why the 3DV drivers would ruin your FPS with 3D disabled. Clarify?

* OpenGL
* Acer H5360 more depth patch for the driver, instead of hacking the registry.
* Saving depth settings in the game profile.
* 3d vision surround. Where is 2 screen support? For my projectors.
* User creatable 3d profiles.
* triple and quad sli support.
I had a similar problem. My fps would drop drastically in all games once the 3d vision drivers were installed. I am using an Asus gtx 480, when i installed the gamer osd and overclocking software that came with the card it would cause massive framerate drops in all games once the 3d vision drivers were installed. Once these programs were uninstalled, my performance was restored.

keep trying bro's- youll get it fixed- and its totally worth it- 3d is amazing. keep in mind that none of this tech is even out yet. i too am eager to get my triple projectors running....
to the OP- 3-way SLI is not supported. take that third card out.

Yeah, unfortunately i've tried everything. The only thing that solves this problem is not using 3d drivers.
