But in this case he used Monitor Asset Manager. However this gives a good clue that the Nvidia driver mainly only checks the model ID for unlocking Optimized for Geforce mode.

No, it wasn't 3dtv play. I had optimized for nvidia geforce, just like on this screenshot [url]https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/943900/3d-vision/search-information-about-edid-for-3dvision-on-lg-oled-4k-55ef950v-55ef9500-/post/6001071/#6001071[/url] that worked without pressing the 3D button. I never even had 3DTV Play installed and that PC didn't have an emitter connected, so before the override I saw something like [url]http://i.imgur.com/2awVS7a.png[/url]. I played GTA 5 on it in 4K and remember it was slow. :)
Unfortunately I don't currently have the TV easily accessible to try CRU. Maybe later if anyone is still interested. But if anybody wants to try my EDID with only ID changed, I attached it (remove the .tif extension). I use Windows 7, so it might be different with Windows 10.

Thx John! This seems to prove that just the model ID matters for Optimized for Geforce mode. (at least for you and me ^^). I haven't read much of this really long thread here yet but I guess that as soon as Joker had the EDID prepared and published the majority of users here never tried the model ID way. I must admit that I also didn't know about this hack until I read it on some other topic 2-3 months ago! That hack works not only for Optimized for Geforce but also to force 3D Vision mode (as you can see in my video).

I also only read this thread long time ago, but as far as I can remember, the initial approach was to simply take the original Acer's EDID. It worked to some extent for older TVs, but not for 4K TVs. Then people started trying to merge different blocks from Acer and TV EDIDs. I don't remember anyone taking the original TVs EDID and replacing just the ID.

So I finally got some time to try CRU on my LG OLED. I currently have an LG E6, but my last experience with EDID override where I only changed the ID was with an LG C6. I decided to try to follow my previous Monitor Asset Manager method with the E6 first, just in case, before trying CRU. But it didn't work at all to my surprise. Then I tried to just use my old .inf from the C6. And it worked fine as before.
I compared the original EDID dumps for both TVs, and found that the second half is very different:

So can someone verify which EDID is optimal (or barring that which ones work) for the EF9500? You'd think that'd be easy to find in this thread but it is all over the place. Exactly, they both work the same way. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the actual panel is virtually the same.
