I just started to use my Viewsonic/3D Vision combo and I don't see any ghosting but I do have what looks to be a common problem here: Intermittent Flashing/Flickering in the glasses.

I get this in movies, pictures and games but its inconsistent. Very distracting.
Hi to all members here! I'm new in this forum and i search for an answer for this problem. I read and I did everything explained in Troubleshooting Flicker but without solution. Any help will be evaluated.
P.S. Sorry for my English !

I have a PDF with embedded 3d Drawings.
I'd like to use 3D Vision to display and interact with the drawings.
I add Acrobat to the program settings in the Nvidia Control Panel.
I checked the Acrobat 3d Settings in Preferences.
I open the pdf. Click on the 3d Object. Select View Full Screen Mode.
3D Vision doesn't kick in.

The supplied 3D Vision demos work just fine, but I can't seem to get anything else to work.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Note: I'm trying to use this as a data analysis system and not for games.

Any suggestions on simple 3D rendering programs that work well with 3D Vision?

I'd like to pass 3D data into the system and then view it.

I've upgraded the drivers to v1.17
Samsung SyncMaster 2233hz
NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT

Andrew,

Can you extend the 3D vision program to be even more effective? For example, a simple thing like not presenting object indicators at screen depth needs to be done across many games and would improve the experience tremendously.

Also, the experience of 3D in theaters is something that cannot be achieved in games right now because all games assume you are viewing the majority of the screen, whereas in a theater the screen extends well into my peripheral vision. When you see the edges of the monitor, it breaks the pop out effect and immersiveness.

Ideally, with a big screen or projector, the screen would fill my entire field of view (including peripheral vision) and the HUD elements would be adjustable to fit inside my primary viewable area. Games need to start thinking more about this to be truly 3D immersive and as we move into big screen gaming ... this should be part of the certification process.

Something like that would require a change in display technology. Most 3D Vision users are using 3D Vision ready LCD displays. Filling their entire vision with the whole display isn't possible yet.

With projectors and 3D TV's coming out this year, it's a certainty. I agree it wasn't that feasible last year, but we're moving into this territory now as 3D hits the living room.

I'd like to know when we might see official 3d Vision driver support for Lord of the Rings Online (www.lotro.com)? While 3d Vision works fairly well with lotro anyway, there are certain incompatibilities that could possibly be addressed by nvidia with a little driver support? I've been patient with this until now, but with 3dV an obvious priority item for nvidia and with lotro one of the most successfull and active mmorpg's on the market it seems a glaring omission from nvidia's support that is overdue to be addressed. I'm not entirely clear on how much driver support can actually affect an existing title's performance in stereoscopic 3d, but to the extent that it can be beneficial I'd really like to see nvidia finally review & address lotro's compatibility with 3d Vision.

Are we ever going to see a power user mode? I don't need my hand held all of the time, thank you. I would like to dictate exactly what sort of limits my eyes can take without being nannied by nV.

I'd like to echo Chris' request for official support for Lord of the Rings Online. I've only recently purchased my 3d Vision setup, and was disappointed to see no support for lotro.

I agree with distant's previous request for support of generic shutter glasses.

I work at an university and we spent quite a bit of money for stereoscopic infrastructure including 30 glasses (Xpand) and a projector (DepthQ). Several students wrote applications to visualize different subjects in stereo, relying on the use of the Nvidia stereo driver. As far as I know, all of these cannot be run with the 3D Vision drivers any more.

We feel that Nvidia led us into a dead end by dropping previously supported hardware.

196.21 results in red warning appearing saying projector must be in in 3D mode (Viewsonic PJD6211). Projector displays 3D just fine at 120hz while warning is up, but sync is reversed. I had to drop back to 191 beta driver to eliminate these problems.

The purpose of this thread is to ask questions of NVIDIA (specifically, this thread isn't around to troubleshoot your particular hardware). If your post isn't a question for the QA program, it will henceforth be deleted.

Are there any plans for a power user settings mode? Perhaps settings that allow max depth to be exceeded, sync timings to be adjusted, allow the glasses to be activated manually and detection of displays to be overridden. Just a few power user options would help a lot of our issues satisfy our preferences.
