3D Vision 2 IR Emitter not recognized and failure to start
  3 / 3
I got my emitter working again after fully shutting down and restarting my computer. My 5-year old Asus P8P67 WS Revolution motherboard has always had quirks that seem to stem from its USB ports. The Asus Maximus Formula that I had before that had similar quirks. Both motherboards would occasionally hang on startup for several minutes after pressing the power button, then shut off, then power back on and proceed to boot into Windows and work normally. This seems to happen on my "newer" computer most often when powering on after switching between my old Sony GDM-FW900 CRT monitor and DLP projector. I've always used Asus motherboards, but I may go with another brand when I build my next computer later this year.

Well, i switched it to one of the 2.0 usb ports i hadn't tried before, and was able to finish setup and start up a coupel games using the 3d. However, the emitter seems to lose signal every so often, and is the light on the glasses supposed to stay on the whole time they're being used? they kept going off within about a minute it seemed.
See USB power saving settings in Windows...
Already checked those they've been disabled since i setup my computer months ago, but they were still disabled.

Well i managed to play Batman Arkham Origins for about 30+min with no issues, expect a crash when trying to watch the shadowplay capture. Have to say though, it does look pretty amazing. My only question remains: is the light on the glasses supposed to turn off after it syncs with the emitter, or is it supposed to stay on while in use? To that effect, how do you turn them off? Is it automatic after the emitter signal stops?

Also, sometimes my emitter blinks bright green/light green then powers off. What does that mean? I can't tell if these are features or issues, and i can't find the manual for the vision 2 kit online.

Yes, the glasses light is supposed to turn of after a few seconds or less. The button is used to tuen them on and che ck the battery life (which is 60 hours long). They automatically turn off after 10-15 minutes of not being in use by a 3D program. You will see one of the glasses blinking a few times before that. About the emitter, I'm not sure. It' normal green when not in use and bright green when 3D is enabled. Turned off? In my case only after a PC reboot, and then I have to unplug and replug it so Windows sees it again.

I think it's as working as it'll ever be now, so it seems like it is setup and functional. However, last night i was trying to use it and started getting the " Warning: attempt to run Stereoscopic in non-stereo display mode, please change to a acceptable mode. See documentation for acceptable Stereoscopic 3D modes" warning any time i start a game in 3D. Any idea what i means or why it's suddenly showing? It even shows on Batman, which just the other night worked without issue. I had the stereoscopic enabled, so i'm not sure why the message was showing. It was even working for a bit with the warning on screen, but the warning takes 25% of the screen space so i can't bear to play with it showing. On a different not, where was it that you said i can find the 3d patches for games? I remember you said the community is doing a lot of work to make 3d work on newer/unofficially supported games.

"Warning: attempt to run Stereoscopic in non-stereo display mode, please change to a acceptable mode. See documentation for acceptable Stereoscopic 3D modes" This will manifest itself if you are launching the game using an unsupported refresh rate or resolution. Like if you are using a projector that is supported by Nvidia at 1280x720. If you launch the game at 1280x800, you'll get the warning. While the projector might support this resolution, Nvidia limits you to 720P. Fixes can be found at http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/10/game-list-automatically-updated.html please follow any and all directions to the T. Most fixes simply require that you drop a few files into the game folder. Some require additional steps such as "in-game settings" or profile reassignments or game versions or driver versions or ini/config file editing.
