Assassin's Creed III - Will it work?
  1 / 6
This one is definitely the game I am most looking forward to this year. Unfortunately I am so amazed by 3D-gaming by now that I would skip even that title without hesitation in case it doesn't work with 3D vision. Since the title ist rated "not recommended" by default I am desperately hoping for the "Helix-Dead-Space-2-effect"! What do you think?

DX10/11. Not sure about future but as of now, no. Not a huge fan of the series, but im really surprised people arent trying to talk to devs about it. Pretty much the whole series worked well in 3D. The last game they patched iot a few times to increase support I believe. The geforce page lists it as supported but that list is quite trollish. http://www.geforce.com/games-applications/pc-games/assassins-creed-3

I'm with the OP, this game is my most anticipated game this year and the one I most want to play in 3D. I replayed ACII and Brotherhood in 3D this year with the help of Helix mod, and Revelations worked fine as is. Ubisoft has been good with 3D, and the game supports 3D (reprojection) on the consoles, so I'm optimistic. I've got the Digital Delux edition preordered, but I'll face a difficult decision later this week if the game doesn't support 3D very well: wait in the hope they'll add support, or trade my usual preferred 720p 3D for 1080p 2D. But I'm so used to playing games in 3D now that when I occasionally play a game in 2D, I'm distracted by the lack of stereoscopic 3D!

And you had a good framerate ? Revelations ran at 20 fps with 3D enabled, and I have a GTX670... I agree that AC are beautiful 3D games (Top 5 or 10 for me), but the framerate is terrible and get worse with each episode. And I heard that AC3 has the same problem (people are already playing the game on PC, probably not the legit way tho), so I'm glad I didn't preorder.

Definitely still hoping! While I can't go back to 2D I am pretty forgiving when it comes to 3D issues in games. Checking the "not recommended" games on Nvidia's 3D Vision page I found several titles that I played and enjoyed using 3D Vision even without applying any fixes before. I totally liked Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit in 3D Vision without any fixes although that game is rated "not recommended" by Nvidia. I also liked Splinter Cell: Conviction without any fixes (ok, that one had serious issues, but still I liked it). Aliens vs. Predator could be partially fixed by renaming the .exe and that one also is rated "not recommended" by Nvidia........

My framerate in Revelations was certainly lower than the previous games, but I only got drops when up on the rooftops looking out across the city. Looking downward or just walking through the streets, it was fine. It didn't bother me too much. Going right from Brotherhood to Revelations, I also felt the visual quality (other than frame rate) improved quite a bit. 720p 3D, 560 Ti, i5-2500.

AC serie is amazing in 3D... Hope at least if the game have issues, not be so bad. Dont trust Nvidia rating...they put in the profile "Not recommended" and in the geforce page "3D vision"... the opposite...WTF! Come on Nvidia make a team meeting (10 minutes) and reach agreement in there!!! its not that hard. @Krev, Revelations (and all AC serie) its not well optimized (AKA Port) and its very CPU demanding...i also have GTX 670 (Factory OC version) and runs just fine with all max out at 720p (i have 3DTV play). Min = 38 fps / Max = 60 fps / Avg = 48 fps (its fine for me). My CPU its a i7 3770K.

I play at 1080p, and my cpu is a i5 760 overclocked. That's not the best one, but all my games run fine, except AC:R and probably AC3. The recommanded cpu is an old quadcore (my previous cpu), I just don't understand.

Your CPU is fine, try 720p + AA.... for me also ACR have the worst performance in 3D...it's a lazy port, nothing we can do.

Wasn't Max Payne 3 another example of this Nvidia "information mess". I am not quiet sure but I remember the Geforce page saying 3D-Vision-ready for Max Payne 3 while the driver-information in which Max Payne 3 was mentioned for the first time also said "not recommended". The driver that came afterwards labeled it "3D-ready" but it was actually very playable in 3D-vision from the start.......

That is really really sad! After seeing the Geforce-page for Creed III I was almost sure it would be 3D-vision-compatible. And now nothing but dissapointment.....

......but I still have hope. Maybe there is a way to enjoy this in 3D Vision. As I said I am pretty forgiving when it comes to 3D issues.

My thought is it's too early to complain...because the game hasn't come out yet. I suppose it's coming out right now for those of you in North America though. We need a lot of eyes on a lot of scenes to identify the problems, as well as opinions as to whether it's worth it or not. The early tip eqzitara provided us is great, but it wouldn't do us any good to actually complain about a pre-release pirated build we heard about second or third hand. I would urge patience. But then, I need patience because the game won't be released here in Japan until Friday! Anyway, I'm getting my thoughts together to present a post to Ubisoft about 3D Vision problems, but I feel it has to be backed up by what's been confirmed with the paid for release build plus any patches.

What we need now are some reports from users who actually tested this one in 3D vision. The game should be released today in North America so the reports should arrive soon here. Unfortunately I can't try it myself yet since the game is released on 11/22 here in Germany so two more days 'til release. In case helix or eqzitara label it unplayable in 3D vision based on their personal experience (not just some pictures they got sent) I won't look any further!
