R.I.P 3D Shutter Glasses :( My Shutter glasses won't hold a charge .
Yup, they died on me ..poor little guy. We had some good times together me and those glasses but now little 3D angels are flying them up to heaven as we speak /tearywave.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':tearywave:' /> .
They just won't hold a charge and they won't even turn on. It looks like there's going to be no more 3D gaming or videos for me for awhile. Darn it /pinch.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':pinch:' /> , and i was half way threw editing my video to. If anyone has some tips on how to jump start the glasses so they can charge again that would be great.

If there's no warranty left you should be able to fix them yourself if it's only about the batteries. Some stores sells different sizes of rechargeable phone, camerabatteries etc. In worst case you might have to alter the glasses a bit for the new batteries to fit. Watch the voltage and type of the battery though.
Question: Does the glasses turn on when in the charger? Battery-wear is usually a gradually process. If the glasses broke all of a sudden it's probably something else.

If you are indeed out of warranty it should be a relatively easy fix for you. Here's a link with some great info.

The glasses do not turn on when in charge. When I plug the mini USB into them the orange charge light goes on but the glasses don't even though there plugged in. I have had them charging for up to 12 hours and they still never stop charging and if i push the power button on the side nothing happens. I don't get a green light . Just before they died on me they flickered green to yellow to red and back to green again, after that they could never hold a charge. I'm going to find out today if there covered under warranty and if there not I'm going to attempt to fix them myself. My second problem though is finding a soldering gun. Thanks for the help likay , I have my fingers crossed that there covered.

My old glasses started doing this. I noticed that once I started a game, while plugged in via USB, it took 3-5 minutes for the lenses to turn on while the game was running and the IR tower was active.

I live in the US and know a little bit about electronics. Most electronics sold in US must have a one year warranty. This warrant doesnt usually cover physical damage but does absolutly cover electrical failures in first year. When I contacted NVIDIA about my own broken glasses I was quickly told if my glasses worked when I recieved them then I could not get them repaired. I was amazed and asked about warranty. The conversation changed and I was able to get my glasses repaired for no fee. I did have to pay to ship them though. Believe me. They will try to convinve you the glasses are not under warranty and give you a hard time. Remember, you have a one year warranty for electrical failures and remind the guy on the other end the glasses were not physically damaged and you know your rights. Sad it has to be this way but I think most companies dont stand behind their products like they use to. Dont believe me then read the conversation I had. I cut and pasted it afterwards to remember the lousy experience I had on 6/7/10. The only editing I have done is removed my last name from my lines...

It looks like the supportguy got it round the backfoot and somehow assumed the glasses were physically broken. Of course that makes difference on how the situation is taken care of. I don't think he done anything wrong except for the wrong assumtion. All else is standard procedures.

Yeah, easy to assume that since I say they "stopped working" and never mention physical damage. Problem is assuming that he assumes it isn't under warranty also. Look carefully at his choice of words. Never even acknowledges wether glasses have a warranty or not... Gives me a link when I ask direct questions. Seems simple enough. If glasses fail within a year of purchase date due to an electrical or manufacturing issue then NVIDIA will repair them. There. How hard was that?

[11:50:32 AM] Hi, my name is Subhajit. How may I help you?
[11:51:54 AM] Lester: My 3d vision glasses have stopped working. I purchesed them from Newegg on 7/2/09. I am quite certain they are broke as I have bought a second pair and they are working fine. Broken pair show red light and do not turn on at all when computer goes into 3d mode. Is there a way to RMA product or send it for repair?
[11:52:54 AM] Subhajit: Was the glasses shipped broken?
[11:53:34 AM] Lester: no, i bought them 11 months ago and they worked for first 6 months
[11:55:00 AM] Subhajit: Lester, I am really sorry to inform you that since the glasses was fine earlier and broke later on in this case you will not be able to claim for RMA.
