I can't get work tridef in direct3d 120 hz mode with my nvidia glasses and emetteur with my VP acer H5360. I use a dvi/hdmi output from pc and a hdmi input on VP. Anybody can help ? The message is ; "Unable to initialize display stereo player (00300122)" and the message in game is "3D is currently disabled .. Stereo Direct3D error"

I'd suggest asking for help in the Tridef forums.

No, Tridef doesn't work on the H5360. It's 3D Vision style, at 120Hz, frame-sequential. Tridef is snooty and refuses to support frame-sequential, so we are out of luck. If you have the H5360BD version, that one will work, because it does frame-packing.

I don't agree. H5360 work with DLP glasse i have mode in VP setting. You just have to buy glasses like sainsonic compatible from 96 to 144 Hz but i don't have one. So is it possible that tridef work with dlp mode ?

They are right, its not compatible. I think you could get that projector to work with tridef if you were using AMD graphics card. I wouldnt change from nvidia to amd though, tridef is dead anyway, they laid off plenty of their staff and we wont be seeing any more 3d profiles for games.

That it works on AMD is fine and dandy, but that doesn't help anyone here.

Yeah, i may have mixed things up a little bit. Point was to bring up that tridef supports frame sequential but its irrelevant in this situation. Nevertheless, i think murnau gets it now.

Cool. It's hard for me to get a straight answer regarding the support for NVidia in tridef. I see people claim that it's locked out by NVidia, but I'm a programmer, and when I look at their public NVapi for stereo: http://docs.nvidia.com/gameworks/content/gameworkslibrary/coresdk/nvapi/group__stereoapi.html It's clearly allowing for quad buffered stereo if they want to write against the API. This would allow them to use direct mode, which would be the right choice as they would be implementing an automatic mode themselves. This is essentially the same as an OpenGL or AMD output, so I really don't understand why people say it's locked out. Maybe just general anger/hate for NVidia. I'm nearly certain that I could just take a straight side-by-side image and map it to the nvapi to generate 3D Vision output. I'll probably try this in a month or to.

I got one in-depth mail from them but i couldnt find it anymore, here are some of the staff quites anyway from the forums. links in the bottom, but cannot link to specific post, just thread.
Probably won't work, since Bioshock: Infinite is a DX11 only game and nVidia doesn't allow 3rd party access to their QuadBuffer API in DX10/11. DX9 games will work OK, which you've probably noticed. I was going to recommend looking to see if HelixMod had a fix out, but did some reading and I see that his fixes can only work with DX9 as well, so no luck there either. However, there is a possiblity that we may have something that would work with Windows 8 in the future, as Windows 8 provides a native 3D QuadBuffer API. "In theory", this should let us work in conjunction with 3D Vision (and AMD and Intel) at all DX levels, but in practice we'll have to see. I can't give a time frame on when we might have something available (or if it will even work!), but stay tuned.

Before anyone says anything that is incorrect, I thought i'd give it a go. Because the way NVIDIA does their 3D and because of its proprietary-ness, it does not allow thirdy parties such as DDD to use its API calls, etc. Now we got lucky with DX9 stuff as there was enough to go by to get it jury rugged and working. DX11 is a lot more complicated and more obfuscated and hence right now is not doable.

This has been posted before; NVIDIA uses their own proprietary 3D formatting and don't share any of their API's with anyone, let alone possible competition. Yeah, those comments from Tim just seem like bald-faced lies to me, to make NVidia look bad and give an excuse. I cannot square those comments with the publicly available API that I've downloaded and used, so I just think Tim is either lying or just not trying at all.
