Things dont pop out more really, its all to scale. If you scale the image up, it pops out more by measure, but it is the same to scale, so it has the same affect. You sit close to a monitor, further away from a screen, so its all relative.

Same as the depth limit i guess. How nvidia treat a projector the same as a monitor. Even though its
5 times the size. Brightness isn't a problem since i don't have time during the day to play
so can only play at night.
Was going to get a normal projector any way before i found 3D. So i'm happy either way.
Didn't want to start anything. Was just wondering those of you that do have both, which
one you preferred for 3D. What you have said scstudios has confirmed my suspicions that
the pop out on a projector is around the same level of a monitor just it's spread out
over a larger surface so it doesn't look as 'in your face'. Also you can't get as close to a projector
screen for obvious reasons...

I myself prefer the projector. As someone else said it feels less like looking into a fish tank. However when i play on my projector i always wish for higher res than 720p as on the monitor it is very noticeably sharper.
If you want to see what kind of pop out your projector is capable of i highly recommend the geoforms program on the nvidia site. Mess around and get used to the controls with the mouse. Then reduce the size of the blobs in the middle untill all parts are within the screen, then slowly pull the image out of the screen with the mouse (make sure all of the image stays centred and never near the edges). I litterally had the blobs about 20cm from my face and 1.5meters out of the screen. It is by far the best example of pop out i have seen. It litterally feels like the image is actually in the room, more so than the usual "wooo look its sticking out the screen".
