World of Warcraft used to work flawlessly, now unplayable in 3D

Did anyone try the latest .25 drivers? They fixed some stuff, but not all. I do wish to play other games in 3d aswell, those that work better with later drivers. -.-

Ok, I'm not amused anymore. Meanwhile I wrote a Customer Review in Amazon.de to warn other users from buying this product for playing WoW. I would like to encourage you to do the same in your countries. If this post does not have any success, the financial issues for nvidia with reviews in Resellers boards may have! /verymad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':verymad:' />

Nvidia only has so much control in the matter. In the end, it's still Blizzard's game. Nvidia can't force Blizzard to code the game so things display at the proper depth.

It is annoying not being able to play in 3D without using certain addons, etc. But there's no need to be ignorant about the entire situation. Nvidia only controls the drivers, not how the game itself is coded and how it renders depth between objects.

But it inst Blizzard that have broken it, it is the drivers. Put 1.13 on and it works. Update to the latest, it doesn't. So in my book it is Nvidia that need to fix it.

Hah, well in that case I suppose it is Nvidia's fault.

There were 2 problems, one is WoW doesn't align UI properly in 3D, the other one is Nvidia doesn't put UI in 3D if the UI is loaded after the game. This problem existed since launch, where alt-tab back to WoW in 3D will cause the UI to mis-allign. The only way to fix it is to toggle the 3D setting in WoW.

Nvidia fixed the 2nd by putting UI into 3D, which now the problem 1 shows and the 3D setting toggle won't fix it. The only solutions are to allign WoW UI into the screen plane, or in 2d in layman's term, or write a mod to force UI to redraw at screen plane everytime the UI is refreshed.

I didn't use mod, and 3D works perfectly. All blizzard has to do is the lock the UI convergence and all problem goes away.

I wonder what IZ3D people have this problem too.

hi there,
i tried tambono's script last night..and it does work..the only prob was constant drop of fps every second...and the battleground was practicly unplayable...
from like 60 fps with 3d vision on i got about 14-20 with constant "freeze" every second.

I didnt get the problem with alt tabbing out, it works perfect for me on CD 1.13. I understand what your saying, but when I first used 1.13 the game worked flawlessly. I am only going by my experience.

The thing is though, this should of been resolved or at lease an update from someone speaking for Nvidia should put us straight.

The problem is clear, but the solution is not, especially when it involves two companies.

Here is what fixed the problem for me:

In WoW, type /console gxStereoConvergence 1

Let me know if it works for any of you.

It works to line up the UI but you also lose all screen depth. The 3D effect is minimal and it looks strange to my eyes because none of the objects have depth or substance.
To see what I mean, type the command above then go into the Stereo effect options. The top slider will be all the way to the left. Move it over about 25% of the bar and you'll see the depth I'm talking about.

I've lost all hope that I'll ever play WoW with 3dvision again.
