Well, I tried MaxPayne2 yesterday too, but for me it is far from perfect.
Some ingame sequences are 2d only (maybe the motionblur?), bullettime is 2D only, and mirrors and reflections are 2D only.
When setting the StereoTextureEnable to 0x0000001 everything becomes 3D but it seems that stereo separation is done twice for the effects that didn't work before. :(
Maybe I'll fire up the helix-debug dll and take a look into it.
I tried the game without widescreen mod too, but there is some strange depth shifting between some level doors or boundaries - that's the behavior I know from the past.

What does dgVoodoo do in this case? I'll fix at least the first one someday, after I finish fixing all my planned old games. If the second doesn't work with dgVoodoo... RIP. Because there is usually an easy way to make mirrors 3D.

With the evolution mod. mirrors dont work exept looking straight at. And there is a convergence shift when going from bullet time to normal. And the reflection from puddle at the start of warehouse scene. But thats about all i have noticed.
I don't remember did i left the value ar 0x00000023 or 0x0000001

Thats the same with the original game.
I'm a purist, so I don't like the evolution mod. Additionally the evolution-mod breaks the dynamic crosshair, that was working before out of the box.
@masterotaku:
dgvoodoo wrapper works, but the widescreen asi-loader doesn't work then. And in DX11 there is no 3D at all, but monitor goes into 3D mode and glasses shuttering.
Crosire's Dx8to9 wrapper works together with the widescreen asi-loader and now I'm able to use Helixmod. But there are just a handful of shaders and none of them affect the problematic effects. Maybe I have to dump all of them and examine them.

And they fucked up max pain looks anyways so to me evolution mod
Only enhances visuals.
could you explain to me dynamic croshair ?
I did notice croshair only kind of ”works” with specific convergence
Value.

Are you using the suggested widescreen mod from pcgamingwiki then?
The person (nemesis2000) that made the draw distance mod (and widescreen, and FOV) mod for the old Hitman games linked me this when i asked him about a way to use his mods + my fixes: https://github.com/ThirteenAG/Ultimate-ASI-Loader
I have no idea about how to use that.
I will try to make my own widescreen if I can't make it work with any other mod. In Hitman 2 I was super lucky because the game doesn't hide anything outside of the intended screen area.
About it being flat with dgVoodoo, is that after changing StereoTextureEnable?
I'm downloading the first Max Payne now, by the way.

Yes it is this ASI loader, that is used for the widescreen mod.
Don't know what's wrong there, because sometimes it get's loaded and sometimes not. Maybe a Win10 problem with known DLL's? :(
About it being flat with dgVoodoo, is that after changing StereoTextureEnable?
Well didn't try that before in combination.
Works really good with ASI-loader + dgVoodoo + StereoTextureEnable 0x0000001.
Mirrors, Bullet-Time and cutscenes look good too.

How can I use Ultimate ASI Loader, in general? I didn't find any instructions or documentation, and I want to try it with the Hitman games.
Good too know that it can work with dgVoodoo (even if only sometimes).
How can I use Ultimate ASI Loader, in general?
Please don't ask me how to make those ASI-scripts. I just used the widescreen script for MP2 made by thirteenAG.
Had to rename the ASI loader to "winmmbase.dll" to get it working with the other wrappers(dgVoodoo,Crosire).

I made Max Payne 1 work with 3Dmigoto using the hang fix (it's in pcgamingwiki). Without it, the game displayed an error complaining about DX8. I made my own widescreen mode (with centered HUD) using shaders, and there are very few clipping issues.
However, there is a problem in the game: the opening of rooms, halls, etc, has a weird effect that makes the inside look weird, at lower depth than it should. At 0 convergence it isn't at full depth. I don't know how to fix that yet.
Max Payne 2 is still downloading and didn't figure out how to use the ASI loader yet..

In case this helps, I managed to get Hitman Contracts working with your fix + Widescreen fix by nemesis2000 located at
https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Hitman:_Contracts
There appears to be no clear instructions in how to use the ASI loader. Through experimentation, I got it to work!
Here is what I did.
1.)Installed your 3D Vision fix
2.)Extracted the Widescreen fix to a temp folder and renamed the d3d8.dll -> d3d8_ws.asi
3.)Dropped the d3d8_ws.asi, h3.ini & h3w.dll files to the Hitman 3 folder where your fix and the game exe is located.
4.)Downloaded version 4.20 from https://github.com/ThirteenAG/Ultimate-ASI-Loader/releases and extracted the 32bit version to Hitman 3 Contracts folder where the exe is. This will be file dinput8.dll
5.)Edit the h3.ini and you'll be good to go. I used a higher FOV (1.3) multiplier for my preference and set draw distance to 20.0.
6.)In game I had to use F4 key to set the aspect ratio (which is in your fix d3dx.ini)
I played through 3 missions without a hitch. Keep in mind that you'll have to adjust the settings for your own situation and preference. I don't know alot about the ASI loader and this first attempt is what worked for me on this specific situation. I suspect from my investigation and observations from another ASI example, renaming the dll with "asi" extension hooks the dynamic link library. While I cannot say with confidence this is what to do on all occasions, this is at least a starting point.
Anyway, learning in progress ;-) I will experiment more on other games where the ASI loader could certainly be useful. I'll post any findings.
Hope this helps!

Thanks! Renaming the widescreen mod "d3d8.dll" to "d3d8.asi" and placing there the "dinput8.dll" file made it work in Hitman Contracts. This is better than my widescreen method, to not get clipping. Then I set "w=1" in d3dx.ini. I'll go edit the fix page with this info.
In Hitman 1 it didn't work (the mod is mainly a "ddraw.dll" file). The game works as normal without anything different.
In Hitman 2, the process keeps running and the game doesn't boot. It doesn't bother me because there wasn't any culling to begin with.

Maybe I'll fire up the helix-debug dll and take a look into it.
I tried the game without widescreen mod too, but there is some strange depth shifting between some level doors or boundaries - that's the behavior I know from the past.
