Performance

•The Release 275 beta driver v275.27 can cause significant performance drop in The Witcher 2. This issue has been resolved in v275.33 drivers. Please read this FAQ for more information on this issue.
•Increases performance for GeForce 400 Series and 500 Series GPUs in several PC games vs. v270.61 WHQL drivers. The following are some examples of improvements measured on Windows 7. Results will vary depending on your GPU and system configuration:
GeForce GTX 580:
â—¦Up to 4% in Crysis 2
â—¦Up to 5% in Civilization V with SLI
â—¦Up to 9% in Portal 2
â—¦Up to 13% in Bulletstorm with Antialiasing enabled
â—¦Up to 15% in Batman: Arkham Asylum with PhysX High
GeForce GTX 560:
â—¦Up to 6% in Crysis 2
â—¦Up to 8% in Portal 2
â—¦Up to 14% in Batman: Arkham Asylum with PhysX High
â—¦Up to 15% in Bulletstorm with Antialiasing enabled
•Increases gaming performance by up to 12% for dual-core CPUs in CPU-limited cases.

And,

NVIDIA 3D Vision

•With Release 275 drivers, the 3D Vision Controller driver is now included with all GPU driver installations. This driver package includes v275.33 3D Vision Controller driver. Users are no longer required to install a separate 3D Vision Controller driver or CD driver. For more information, please view this knowledgebase article for more information.
•3D Vision Window Mode support. Please view this knowledgebase article for more information.
•Added support for 3D Vision Photo viewer to now work in Window Mode. When you have opened a 3D picture file check the “View” section for this new option.
•Improved 3D Vision IR emitter and 3D Vision glasses synchronization
•Adds support for new 3D Vision projectors: NEC NP-V300X series
•Added the following 3D Vision game profiles:
â—¦Age of Empires Online
â—¦Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
â—¦Battlefield Play4Free
â—¦Duke Nukem Forever
â—¦Dungeon Siege III
â—¦Super Street Fighter IV
â—¦World of Tanks
•Update the following 3D Vision game profiles
◦Portal 2 – fixed water reflection problem and updated convergence setting to provide a better user experience
◦The Witcher 2 – Improved 3D Vision compatibility for all in-game effects

I am willing to test them when I'll be at home.

I downloaded the new drivers.

I loaded up the Witcher 2 to see if everything was better.... short answer NOPE.

I was in the little camp outside town and entered a house. And everything seemed great, I was so excited that it was fixed. So I went into town and went into the Inn... and everything was as usual. Maybe a 10% increase in performance but still massive FPS drop just like the old drivers... oh well, keep waiting I guess.

I did a clean install of these and the 'use 3d when' dropdown box is back and functional, but i still cant get 3d youtube to work (just a SBS vid) and the darn World of Tanks profile they added still has the 'Out of Memory'. Note this was not an issue till they made the profile for it..

Hi

The fix for Witcher 2 performance that this driver had was a massive perf drop in Witcher 2. Are you saying this driver provides no perf improvements over 275.27?

Everyone that has installed this driver has noted that the indoor frame rate issue still remains - I still get 10 FPS inside the tavern and 45 outside of it. The only improvement I have seen that is you want to play in 2D, you can disable the 3D Vision driver and get decent performance in the game whereas in the 275.27 driver you had to uninstall the 3D Vision driver completely.

If you guys have the game on hand, just have someone walk into the tavern in Act 1 with 3D Vision installed. You can also see this problem at the beginning of the game during the prison cutscene.

Yes I am. The 1.1 patch improved performance overall except the areas where it is still severely crippled, like the tavern in Flotsam during Act 1 and the prison area in the prologue, both during the beginning cutscene and the actual escape part.

Andrew, please take a look at the 3D screenshot I posted. Make a note of the low GPU usage and the sub-10 frame rate there as indicated by the OSD at the upper left of the shot.

Thanks - just wanted to confirm the places where it tanks the most that I have seen - tavern(Act 1), prison(prologue), Loredo's house(Act 1), Solar portion of temple with worshippers around tree (prologue). There are a few more that I can't recall off hand but they are all confined to indoor areas for some reason.

Most of the indoor locations in the game, like individual houses, are fine for the most part it's just the previous notable locations are really bad.

Here is a screenshot to show what I am getting just outside the same tavern - note the high GPU usage and frame rate.

Yep, adding another confirmation for no change with the new driver......still the same huge drop in framerates indoors in 3D with 1.1 patch. 38FPS just outside the inn, 11FPS as soon as i go through the door...exactly the same as before :(
