DOOM (2016) - 3D Vision Fix
  35 / 39
Just tested doom with the new patch and fix. I experience some performance issues now - had to reduce from 1440p to 1080p to maintain 60 fps. Is there a way to fix this? Anyway great fix. Now I can set convergence level while gaming - this was not possible before. Thank you helifax.

I experience weird issues in doom.. 1st of all there is some eye sync issue when the camera moves.. it happened to me in other opengl games.. second, when I try to set the convergence I realized that it affects only the player's gun and hands and more distant objects stays in a very high convergence which I think hurts my eyes. thought it may be related to the fps but tried lowering all the graphic settings to low and nothing. I have 1080 ti gpu and riva tuner shows a really high fps in 4k (with weird behavior going down to 0 interchangeably) nevertheless, I have the steam version with the latest 3d fix.. do I have something to do about it?

Maintain 120FPS per eye as shown in-game in order to get 60 FPS per eye in 3D Vision. (and as explained in the readme file) Performance is due to the game update and nothing to do with the fix or the wrapper. (I noticed the same actually:( ) For the record you can't play this game in 4K in 3D as you can't maintain 120FPS. SLI is not really working in OpenGL as well, so only one GPU will be used. Also, there are some problems with OpenGL games and the current drivers (the performance is worse in OpenGL with current drivers. I had to revert to older drivers to get the performance back. I posted it above some time ago.) @immersion22: Don't really understand what you say about the convergence... but yes, it makes sense that if you increase convergence the objects close to you will be affected more then other distant objects. This is how the plane of Zero Parallax works and how 3D works. The Depth is coming from the game and is the developer who put the world at a certain depth. Nothing, I can do about it really...

thanks helifax! guess its a dead end for me.. If I could lower the resolution to 1440p and play with SBS that would be great but I guess no way to do it with my edid override. regarding the convergence, I know how it works and I experienced a lot of games already..but somehow in doom something else is going on.. when setting the convergence on my gun to zero point (no double image), not so far objects seem to be highly "doubled". weird behavior which hurts my eyes.. ill play something else.. thanks again helifax

You can try to see if the behaviour is the same on a regular Monitor with 3D Discover for example. I am not sure the EDID might not do something, the driver or what is happening there exactly :-s

I have had some serious frame rate dips like 30 to 40 fps. Also the decals sometimes appear, sometimes not but we already know this. I cannot say for sure as I have not tested but after closing MSI Afterburner I got the 60fps. Maybe I got the low frame rates without afterburner running too. I'll test...

I have done some testing and :) The problem was low frame rates of 30 to 40 (and the GPU is showing full usage in afterburner) this made the game unplayable as 60 is needed for the silky smooth. But if a video, vlc player or youtube in browser works, then I get the stable 60fps. This works without restarting DOOM it is easy to see. No video 30-40. Play a video 60. I hope if anyone is suffering from the same fps loss as me this will help. I can not believe this is the solution but I just pause a video and then alt-tab into doom. Why... edit. yup For some reason my fps went to 60fps all the time but restarting windows replicated the problem and the solution still works. Take that Nvidia. And thank you for the fix helifax!

Probably a "special" build. I never even tried it on the Demo. Why it doesn't work is simple: The Shader CRC is different, in short the game doesn't know what shaders to modify:)

First of all, mad props to Helifax for developing this fix. At first I had some issues with frame rate locked to 60 despite vsync being disabled in game menu, but turning vsync off in nvidia control panel solved it. The only issue I still have is that some markings on the walls/floor look different in different eyes. Is that is what you call texture clipping? One example is in the starting room yellow triangle on the wall above the fire. I attached other examples as well. Did anyone encountered this and have any ideas how to fix?
