After installing 3D Vision driver version CD v1.23 (GeForce GPU driver v197.13, NVIDIA 3D Vision driver v197.13), playing Battlefield Bad Company 2 (hereafter BFBC2) with 3D OFF introduces a major problem.
In BFBC2 each player has a little nametag above them, so you can see if they are on your side or they are enemy. This tag is normaly right above the player. But with latest 3D Vision driver installed, this nametag is shown way away from the player... here's an example:

This problem was introduced with one of the recent BC2 game patches. They fixed some things like the mini-map but then they broke the markers, which used to work fine. I posted this problem on the BC2 forum and someone said the DICE developers were looking into it. So, hopefully it will be fixed with an upcoming game patch. It's very annoying because it makes it hard to play. You tend to hesitate when you see people, and then blam, too late.

To solve this Disable the 3d check in the control panel and the game will work fine. Yes i'm aware that's playing with no 3d but the problem persists if you just turn off the 3d in game.

If anyone is having this problem, can you list what version of Bad Company 2 you are running? The version is listed in the lower right hand corner of the startup screen, should start with a 5.

Just to add myself to the list. I have this problem aswell and I have CD 1.23 and the game was up to date last time I played. Initially this caused me problems with shooting teammates or not IDing enemies quickly, but eventually it lead me to being able to ID my target based on the skin/model most of the time.
If I remember correctly (been a few weeks since I last played BC2) it was that the icon and names were only rendered in one eye I think. I will check when I get home ... after I cut the grass.

I first encountered this with patch 522174. The subsequent patch that came out with the map pack did not fix it. So, just grab the latest update and you should see this.

This makes it very difficult in close battle to see if it's a friend or enemy.
If I simply install the lates NVidia 295 GTX driver (version 197.13) on top of this, then 3D doesn't work and the nametag goes back to normal.
Any idea why 3D Vision driver messes up this?
Thanks!
