For a long time I've looked into 3D graphics pondering possible ways of making 3D easier to have as well as view. After a while I thought to myself, "Why do we always try to cause depth at the eye level? Why not find a way to fool the eyes on the monitor (or other screen/viewer) level? If you flickered two angles of the same object quickly, I bet it would give the illusion of 3D!".
After a while of searching, I found "Wiggle 3D". Apparently the technique has been used for years... but fairly weakly, although there is DEFINITELY something to it as depth is clearly THERE even if quite weak.
If you did this on a driver and/or hardware level so that the images could be flickered at 60hz-120hz (not sure how fast is necessary), could it not provide a 3D illusion for gaming?

This is sorta like the parallax scrolling method wherein objects close to the camera move faster than objects further away... for example...

Speed the wiggle up to 60hz on your still image there and you can see what happens. You get what looks like 2 images, its not a wiggle any more and you lose the depth that the slow wiggle creates.
