Quake Champions is an upcoming first-person shooter video game developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks, as part of the Quake series of multiplayer shooters.
Guaranteed to support a 120Hz frame rate.
At QuakeCon 2016, creative-director Tim Willits revealed that Quake Champions does not run on the id Tech 6 game engine, but instead works on a hybrid engine made up of id tech and Saber tech, which means a number of the features seen in Doom are not native to Quake Champions, such as virtual reality, Vulkan API, SnapMaps and mod support. Although mod support is potentially planned after initial release.

Unfortunately, most FPS communities suck
Also rampant cheaters, hackers, exploiters, aim bots, etc..., etc..., too often ruin these type of games.
Look at how many people Blizzard banned in OverWatch, which in reality was likely just a drop in the bucket.
I long for the day when they start doing some type of biometric scan for logins and continuous playing. That way they can permanently ban players forever from any and all of their games.

One of the biggest problems with blizzard its how they sell the games in oriental countries (massive bans are from there, not saying there is not any of that in occidental servers). They don't buy it like in occident (one person = one account) the massive bans are because in those countries they don't care about that since they mostly play cyber cafes called "PC bangs". This places buy some kind of special license and with it they create as many accounts as they want so when they get banned just create another account right away. It has to do with they culture as well I guess, very competitive etc...
PD: When I said Quake 2 community I was referring to the modding, mapping, modeling, demoing or what have you. From there were created games like Team Fortress or Counter strike. Never seen anything like that again.
