Thanks Pirategybrush!
It's working beautifully now!
Use the Prototype profile, then have put the shadows on low and fiddle with the convergance.
As it's all white there is some pretty back ghosting, but I solved that by fiddling with the contrast.
Time to kill some red dudes!
Don't waste your time the prototype profile doesn't work again I think the game is OpenGL do to it is Steam Play game.
On the GOG version of the game the prototype profile doesn't work.
If it was OpenGL, it wouldn't be working on the Prototype profile. Yet we have two confirmations that it does. (T_L_T and the Steam forum user who initially reported it)

It looked decent with the Prototype profile but the performance tanked for me. It went from me getting 120fps in 2D without the profile, to ~45fps stuck in both 2D or 3D with the profile. It looks cool in 3D but not at the expense of a smooth framerate unfortunately.
I feel like what we really need is just a way to force 3D vision to kick in on the default profile.

Can't get this game work in 3D :( Using fix from Helixmod. Under Windows 10 (364.51 drivers) 3D works, but game looks very broken - all shadows are off-place. Under Windows 7 (364.51 drivers) 3D won't even kick-in, no matter how hard I try - I've set 3D to be enabled Always and run game in full screen. When I press CTRL+T I see that image doubles on screen, so it supposedly renders in 3D, however, glasses doesn't work and receiver is OFF.
Any help? Thanks.

If dx11 it might be a full screen issue, you can try 3DMigoto to force it.
