Indeed, I haven't found a way to completely disable AA.

I think the AAA antialiasing option is "analytic" antialiasing that implemented as a post process (like stalker x ray engine) seems to give pretty good results with little performance impact.

Performance seems generally better than stalker game which was often cpu limited since it used only one cpu core.

WOW - this game supports 3dvision from the off, no patching, no messing - just works - another fine game making great use of 3dvision

Developers take note, this is how to release a 3dready game, ie READY ! !

I just got through a session with this game in the Ghosts and Anomaly levels and, I must say, the 3D is outstanding! Obviously, since you are in the dark A LOT, the flashlight effect has to be spot on and in 3D the developers absolutely nailed it. Incredibly realistic feel with the flashlight! Other little things like the floaties in the air, the mist/smoke that hangs in the air all add up to a mindblowing 3D experience. The atmosphere in this game is pushed over the edge by the 3D. I LOVE IT - GIVE ME MORE!

Oh, and changing my res to 1280 x 800 has made the game much smoother at very high with a barely noticeable loss in clarity, maybe a touch more of the jaggies but still gorgeous. Thanks for the tip pahncrd! :D

Ditto on all you said, including the res tip. With 3 oced GTX280s this game runs beautifully in very high and 3D and is BY FAR the best visual experience I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. Huge thumbs up to the devs, they absolutely nailed it!
The game looks amazing in 3d. Between this and Just Cause 2, I am starting to forgive nV for Bioshock 2.

For anyone using the 2233rz, I set the resolution to 1280x800 and the aspect ratio is exactly equal to native. The scaling on this monitor is pretty damned good and I don't notice any difference in fidelity whilst playing in 3d, however I am able now to play at Very High in dx10 mode with 40-50fps.
Thanks for the res tip. It greatly improved the framerates on my 285 sli setup even at very high settings and the game still looks just as good.

Ya'll worshipping this product as if it was the ass of God. To an extent, I do to. But there's really no popout and no matter how much deep I choose the depth seem to be fixed at a low value. This reminds me too much of the latest Resident Evil game, it had too great graphics but there were a huge loss of depth and no true 3D with popouts. I would like to have my convergence point somewhere closer to the action. This game gives me a sense of depth, although not always, but there's something big missing. Bloody, were are your customized convergence settings!?

And about the fps, mine is quite low although I just run the game at mid settings. I have a GTX 295 with a QX6850 processor @ 3 Ghz. I'll try that resolution tip and report back.

Correct - there is no popout and, by default, convergence is locked just like RE5. However there is a user.cfg file that will allow you to change a setting to give you back your control. Did you buy the game off Steam? If so, this info will help...

TWEAKS (Copied from another forum)
1. Adjust user settings

There is two user.cfg

One is located in your:
appdata/local/4agames/metro2033

The other is in your steam folder under: userdata/*youraccountnumber*/43110/remote

If you want to tweak any setting under this you will need to edit one, save it, and then copy it over the other, or edit them both at the same time.

There is a third in the metro 2033 directory but it is not used.

2. Disable autoconvergence

Find this line in user.cfg "r_dbg_stereo_auto_separation 1"

Change the 1 to 0

3. Field of View

I found the original fov to be annoying.

In the user.cfg change sick_fov 45 to 60 for 16:9

Not sure about the other ratios but Anything more than 60 seems to cause some really weird stuff.

After seeing a youtube video showing the differences between advanced physx on and off I finally decided to buy me a dedicated physx card. I am another year away from a complete PC rebuild so I was looking for something that was decent and didn't take up two slots and had low power requirements. I was pleased to find a BFG 9800GT at my local Fry's that not only had 1GB of memory, but it also consumed 30% less power than a normal 9800GT and doesn't even require an additional power plug since it runs completely off the motherboard's power. I can run the game fairly well on high settings with physx enabled now but I am debating whether to hold off playing too much of this until I get a 480GTX to replace my 295GTX.

This game is a 3-D showcase!

Would you be so kind as to please point me in the direction of that mentioned youtube video? Is the difference really that significant? I enbaled advanced PhysX from the get-go, but apart from the occasional cloth simulation and shizzle blowing in the wind topside, there really isn't that much going on. Or so I thought...

Anybody getting a strange flashlight visual bug where when you look up you can see a circle of light on your weapon? It's easiest to see when you have your journal out, and as far as i can tell this visual bug only happens when 3D is enabled for me.
