Star Wars :The Old Republic MMO with 3D Vision I have posted on Biowares Star Wars: The Old Republic

Do you think Bioware should make there MMO compatible with 3D Vision?

Yes
No

Depends on the person. There's a good hunk of the population (10%? 20%?) with some variation of 'lazy eye' which will make their depth perception pretty bad in real life. With these stereoscopic tricks that work via triangulation without changing focus length, they aren't going to see 3D at all.

You've also got folks that can't afford it. They will want to hate it because they can't have it.

I personally think the biggest problem, though, is bad exposure to 3D - namely, lame 3D movies.

Well I guess we won't be getting any good 3d with this game since EA has decided to dump 3d.
Damn I was so hoping for 3d support for this.

Bethesda has gone on record saying they don't like 3D, either. Yet their games are some of the best in 3D.

BioWare's recent games haven't been doing so well in 3D so, personally, I'm expecting this one to be so-so at best. A 3D pointer sounds very unlikely and, without that, I have a hunch that I'm not going to be able to play the game in 3D very well.

I really hope they will add 3D to Star Wars: The Old Republic. I got a friend who is totally obsessed with that game. He tried the beta test last week.

I was also skeptical about 3D Vision for more than 2 long years. I had tried it in a computer shop, but the thing was, I wore glasses and I shooed it away instantly with a vile thought. How on earth would I find it interesting if I had to wear the 3D Vision glasses over my prescription glasses? No way. And I left the shop in disgust.

Well my friend downstairs in his apartment showed me his 3D monitor and he could not stop play in 3D. It was not 3D Vision, but some 27 inch Samsung monitor with inbuilt 2D to 3D converting. But I got jealous at him and I wanted 3D too. The problem with it, I was not sure if this was a good idea at all. Finally I decided the next day to acquire the 3D monitor and the 3D Vision kit.

Wow, I was blown away when I turned on the screen and got the glasses on, outstanding. But I soon found out how uncomfortable it was, when I also had my prescription glasses underneath the 3D Vision glasses. I then made the decision and I started to wear contac lenses instead. That made it far more comfortable for me to play with the 3D Vision glasses on.

It showed up to be the best investment ever and never had I felt so happy /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> . This 3D vision was just what I needed to give me that incredible experience I really wanted. The funny thing is, I game with 3D Vision at least 60 hours a week, but I never get a headache /w00twave.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':w00twave:' />

Now I cannot imagine myself playing games in 2D ever again, because I now think it's so unbeareble boring and lifeless. /tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

ho yeah, 3D Vision can change your multimedia experience. Have you tried the last Lego HP 5-7 Years ? In 2D, viusals are pure ****,but with 3D Vision, you have know idea HOW it's good... /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
About SWTOR MMORP, it should be compatible with 3D, cause other users have made screenshot with and that's perfect.

I played the beta last weekend, once I got convergence set (it was hella out of whack by default) it was amazing. Force lightning in 3D is awesome, but the trooper gets the better skill effects by far.

It certainly isn't the worse i've seen, but with a fair amount of rendering issues with weird images popping in where they shouldn't and incorrectly having convergence/depth applied and no 3D cursor and 2D nameplates I find it unplayable. 2D nameplates and 2D cursor is the real killer for me tho. I mean, they actually have an option to make the nameplates smaller depending on distance etc, why the **** would they spend time doing that and not just make them 3D in the first place, seriously.

Heck, I posted the issues in their forums back in August. /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Did you replace the nose...errr... thing? If you use the biggest one then your 3D glasses can sit further down on your nose which gives you room for the perscription glasses.

P.S. Sixty hours of gaming would give me a headache with or without 3D! And a backache. And a sore wrist. And a pink slip for missing so much work.
