This confuses me, as i have no problems 99% of the time. Someone above is saying that everyones theories are inaccurate. All i can say is that i would notice if there were "wrinkles in the text" etc. It seems that different people are experiencing the game in 3d vision differently. I dont know why this is, presuming everyone is using the same drivers. Must be a combination of hardware and software?
I feel for the people who are having these problems. Just dont assume that everybody are experiencing these. It may be a majority/minority, all i know is for me, i can start the game up 100 times, maybe 99 times it is perfect, then 1 time i experience the depth problems others describe.

What driver are you using. It must be CD1.13 or before. It doesn't work for everyone with 3D vision past that point. /yucky.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':yucky:' />

With all due respect it does work for some people. Sure you cannot adjust convergence which has to be set very very low but the rest of the 3D surely functions for some people.

Constructively, other games which have built in stereo 3D setting seem to have locked nvidia from adjusting convergence using F5 and F6, perhaps this might help WoW?

I have posted screenies (see linky) of the game working (the ones with should in the title are what is could look like if we were able to change convergence.

Just because it works for some people, doesn't mean it works. If it doesn't work for some people it means it's broken.
Bottom line is that it needs to be fixed even if one or two people can manage to get it working. It's great that it works for you but this a thread about how it needs to be fixed and we haven't heard a thing from nvidia since they told us it was a top priority over a month ago and a patch came and went with no mention of it or updates on the issue.

Hi,

I have read this post all the way

I had same problem UI off set, map off set, clock and so on

Solution for me was fast and simple

Win7 64 with GTX 285

Uninstall new drivers, restart, install v190.62, restart

link for drivers: http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_3D_vi...in7_190.62.html

All working fine now.

Without 3d 120 FPS, with 3d 60 FPS /shifty.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':shifty:' />

Hi

Can you adjust convergance with these drivers or will that mess up the map, cool down etc...

Thanks

edit

I have just noticed how old the drivers are - do they adversly affect your other games? Pressumably you install the current gfx drivers but use the older 3d vision drivers?

191.07 are the most recent drivers that work. (CD 1.13)

I've tried everything mentioned in this thread and it refuses to cooperate. The instructions say to alight the actions bars; well, the action bars are not a problem (save for the cooldown mask) it's the chat, map, minimap, quest interface, any addons at all (recount, xperl, etc).

The second you simply adjust the "screen depth" slider (in game convergence I take it) it pops back into place just fine... UNTIL literally anything changes. More incoming chat? screwed again. new quest? screwed again. fart in your chair? screwed again.

Hitting "ESC OPTIONS VIDEO" over and over to adjust the tab is a game breaker and just not practical, convenient or fun whatsoever.

Parts of the UI are now, for some reason, on different layers. It doesn't even make sense some of the things that get bumized, but it sure is a pain.

I was simply using 191.07 lately until I bought BFBC2, and of course I can't run that game with the older drivers... So now I have to uninstall and reinstall drivers everytime I want to play either game - that's ridiculous. Sure it's only 5 or 10 mins, but let's get serious - having to reinstall drivers to play a certain game?

I can understand it getting broken somehow, but having it STAY broken for this long for the single most popular online game on the planet, and one that they PLAN TO SHOW OFF at their booth soon is mind boggling. Especially when it was "top priority to get to the bottom of" quite some time ago now. It's pretty disappointing for the price I paid for this product. I've always been an nVidia supporter but this is really taking it's toll on me, and everyone I demo this system to is well aware of the support situation... it's hard to endorse high price point product, dear nVidia, when I have to explain to everyone why we have to wait and reinstall drivers regularly... oddly nobody in my circle of friends has rushed out and bought it yet besides me at this point.

It would really be nice to have ANY feedback on this issue once again, at least acknowledge that there is some level of concern of this. Many a WoW addict would eat this up if it actually worked with recent drivers. Hell, I just suffered through it for a month until I found this thread and rolled back to old drivers.

Yes mate

Some people (myself included), with very careful tweaking can get it running many others cant.

However

You cannot adjust convergence one bit. Doing so offsets the HUD overlays - the cooldown timer, map points etc are all in the wrong place. For me convergence must be set very low. If you read up to the linky I provided to a similar thread here you will see the difference. The screenies with 'should' in their title are how the game should look - unfortunately, although you cannot see it in the screenies, the map, cooldown etc are off.

If you need any information let me know as I would be happy to help

Andy

This is occurring with the most up to date driver 1.23.

The main problem for me, and yes I registered just to say this is that I can't use convergence... It is very uncomfortable to use any sort of good depth without this control. Like the previous poster, the second I put anything into "screen depth" my map, and hud overlays (like cooldowns), buffs, and basically anything that is part of the UI make it so that my brain starts to bleed as they seperate out.

The solution is to use old drivers, cause it was working the best about a year+ ago, however, if you are like me and have the acer or alienware monitors, or have any interest in playing newer games like BC2, it is impossible for this to work.

It is my recommendation to skip 3d completely in WoW, until it is verified that nvidia has corrected this bug, as it causes massive eye strain (due to lack of driver support for convergence). Because of this I would basically give it a 1/5 star quality rating using any driver since the one from 2008, which doesn't support any modern game. Every part of the UI becomes completely unusable in 3d with convergence.
