I watched the movie last night, I have seen the movie before but it is one of my favourites. But the game the intro I have played seems to hold very true to the movie. I think I will hold off for the fix, only played up to where that first guy gets killed by the alien and just the music was almost enough to make the hair on your neck stand up

@mike : That looks amazing !!! Any chance you could share an early fix for those who have already started playing in CM and wouldnt mind the minor issues, perhaps over a PM ? Its really hard to take a break from this game once you start playing it, as much as I believe that your fix will be worth the wait! (I'm about 5 hrs in)

Come on guys..
This is really bad manners to put it lightly....
These guys go well out of their ways to provide these fixes for us.. Above and beyond what you get from the support guys who develop the games and actually make money from it....
Patience is a virtue my friend....
<please note: I'm not trying to single you out.. ... it's just they get those requests for every-game fix that is in the pipeline & this game has been out less than a week so far!!>
I really wish we could bottle what you guys have... So we could send it over to all other PC game developers...

Once again the screen shots look great!
I can't believe what you've achieved considering how messed up the 3D was to start with.
I'm holding off playing the game and waiting for the fix as I'm sure it will be well worth it. In fact I haven't gone near it since seeing the first screen shots.
GL and Thanks for your effort!

I see WIP fixes posted all the time at Helix, so just trying my luck.
Sure, I'll be patient. And I fully respect the community effort with these fixes, 3D is an after thought for most devs sadly.

There's a specular reflection issue I have not addressed yet, and it affects most surfaces so I don't want to put it out yet. If I can't work it out in the next few days then maybe I will. Remember with 3DMigoto we are constantly fixing and updating the wrapper decompiler as well as fixing the game, so it's somewhat iterative.

Thanks for sharing the status, you are making great progress ! I'll be patient and hold off on playing the game until the release. I'm tempted to play the game all over from the beginning after seeing the screens :D

I have a quick question about Helix.
He has his blog/website and is the coder behind the tools that are used for3dfixes but the community never hears from him. He is like that mystery man from the Cadbury's Milk Chocolate advert - does he use a different alias, has he stopped 3D fixes!?

Pipi, He asked about Helix, not Helifax.
Helix is not active in he fixes community or the forum. But his legacy tools are used every day by the modders here, to bring joy to the 3D gamers everywhere. And he might surprise us yet, if he finds time to work on his DX11 wrapper (though there might be time for a DX12 one already as per Windows 10).
Helix, wherever you are, we love you!

some guy on steam forums has managed to increase shadows between 4k -16k, really does help with CM mode in 3d, and changes reflections etc to ultra, ive been using that ENGINE_SETTINGS.XML with Assasin creed black flag profile, and i dont see no halo's, and it really does add some improved nice gfx tweeks.
take a look :D
Pretty nice shots. Alien is arguably the best use of CM so far.
Still not personally enthusiastic though-
those shots all show a lack of depth, which is probably OK on projector, but a bit weak sauce on monitor. Plus no ability to have any pop-out effects, limited convergence. No toyification possible.
Also, you guys keep saying there are no halos and are clearly exaggerating. Anything that is up close to you, and blocks your view will have halos. Crouch behind a box and lean in and out. Look at the edge of the box.
Look at your shot here: See the halo around the monitor on the left?

Look at your shot here: See the halo around the noisemaker canister? If you zoom this to full screen, you can see haloing around the bars in the fence.

I don't personally find the halos objectionable, but it's better if people have a clear idea of what it's doing.
If we did not have the ability to do true-3D, I for sure would have played in CM. But true-3D here is quite a lot better as usual (I get first looks because I need them to fix 3Dmigoto glitches).
