3D Movies? A Question for a Consumer
My question is this: I know there are movies made for 3d specifically, but my question is: What will happen if I watch a normal movie with the shutter glasses?

Will it lend depth to movies?

Basically it boils down to: Would something like Avatar, when released on DVD, render well through the shutter glasses?

I'm considering the investment, but I want to know what the glasses will do outside of a gaming environment. Will they have any effect on current movies? Is there a special movie player I put normal DVD's through?

well if you are using just the regular red/green glasses then the movie will just look red/green lol but im not 100% sure as to the effect they will have on regular dvd's although im pretty sure it will have no effect, if anything it may make your eyes hurt or degrade the movie quality since it is not a 3d dvd specifically.

You're clearly not bright enough to see "shutter" next to "glasses" meaning that I was NOT talking about red/BLUE glasses. I was talking about shutter glasses. Do any movies support the use of shutter glasses for the purposes of rendering in 3d, or do they all use the filtered light effect since that is more marketable?

You are clearly not smart enough to even ask a question!
Why would using 3D shutter glasses lend depth to a "NORMAL" movie? Think before you flame!

Agreed. How could you post such a ridiculously stupid ass question and then dare to call someone "not bright enough". Get the hell out of these forums freakin retard.

For thunder ,the Shutter glasses are for Field sequencial 3d only. And using the 3d player from Nvidia and must have 120 HZ on your DLP Tv or Comp Monitor or DLP projector . So NO it will not add depth at all, only screw up what your watching.
