So, I hope I don't sound like some spamming, broken record but I cannot help it: This is the most impressive stereo 3d game I know of (better than Batman Arkham Asylum, better than Dragon Age: Origins, Two worlds 2 (with its unsual but nice out off screen 3d style), WoW, Avatar, Trine, "you name it"). Had the urge to write this big or with exclamation marks, but the subtle other-worldly beauty of this game would be rather spoiled by such foolishness.
I wonder how it makes the rest of you feel immersion wise - a stereo 3d snowstorm before flawless clouded mountians one can climb on top of and the knowledege of a breathing world full of small details like tiny herbs and large landsights like moutains ranges leaves me awestruck. The spell effects, the shadowplay, all the details of even objects on tables... dive in and never emerge again. I am taking a deep breath of air now and away I am...

I hope people have created threads in their forums so the developers can see the problems your having and that you care. Its nothing for them to expand the sky mesh, they have to bring them mesh into Maya or Max, right click on it and drag it upwards and then resave. If anyone comes in the thread saying how gimmicky 3D is, thats a good time to educate them on the difference between realistic 3d in movies and games too.

Anyone here running Skyrim in stereo on a single GTX460-1GB @ 1080p and can tell me what settings they can run and what FPS they get? Thanks.
I'm running on a GTX460-768MB @ 860/1950 MHz @ 1080p using a Core2Quad @ 3 GHz. I first tried the high setting which would produce around 20 FPS on the bridge outside Riverwood looking towards the town (see screenshot). I found that the medium setting produces around 30 FPS. I have optimized the medium setting by turning off AA, enabling 8xAF, setting Radial Blur to high, and enabling FXAA. This still produces around 30 FPS, which I find is a good compromise between performance and image quality.

460 @1080 everything maxed (and even more with .ini) FXAA, no AA, AFx8 - 30fps

The 3D screenshots on this thread are amazing & I'm frustrated that 3D Vision isn't working that well for me. With 3D Vision enabled the game looks more or less flat, like everything's on a single plane a few inches behind my monitor screen. I've tried adjusting the depth without any significant improvement. It's nothing like the screenshots being posted here, or games like Witcher 2 or Metro 2033, which seemed to go back for miles.
I have the latest beta drivers and a powerful rig with a GTX 590, so I know it's not a hardware problem. I've tried adjusting convergence with the keyboard shortcuts, but I don't think they did anything. Any ideas?

Looks like the convergence is off just a tad, like the foreground objects need to be brought a bit closer together to create a larger variance between the foreground and background.

3d4dd thanks for the fix, now it's also very playable at night, thanks a lot!

Go to Nvidia Control Panel, in the 3D Vision configurations choose to enable keyboard shortcuts to change the convergence, and in the game hold ctrl + F6 until everything gets near the screen (for me it took maybe 5 seconds). If you pressed it for too long and things got out of the screen, hold ctrl + F5 to push everything back. Keep playing with these shortcuts until you get a good convergence. When you're satisfied, press ctrl + F7 to save it, so you won't need to do it every time you open the game.

heres some info i found on the site about .ini changes.
Hopefully in the comming days we will find some tweaks that can fix the water and sky. (though im happy enough with 3d4dd's fix for now)
Changing the FOV
The default Field of View is fairly narrow — between 60 and 75 — which works well for TVs, since you’re sitting further away from the screen, but PC gamers are more accustomed to higher FOVs. Compare the default FOV to a FOV of 90.
1. Go to your My Documents -> My Games -> Skyrim -> skyrim
2. Create a backup of the skyrim.ini file
3. Open the file, then scroll down to where it says [General]
4. At the bottom of this section, add fdefaultfov=XX (where XX is the FOV value you want to change to)
5. Save, exit, and play
Enabling tree and rock self-shadowing
While it’ll cost you in performance, if your system can handle it, you definitely want to enable these two features to add more depth to the world. But don’t take my word for it — without self-shadowing, with self-shadowing.
1. Go to your My Documents -> My Games -> Skyrim -> skyrim
2. Create a backup of the SkyrimPrefs.ini file
3. Change bTreesReceiveShadows=0 to bTreesReceiveShadows=1
4. Change bDrawLandShadows=0 to bDrawLandShadows=1
5. Save, exit, and play

Thanks cragproductions, self-shadowing added a lot to the graphics, although sometimes shadows move too fast for an instant and it looks weird, still I'll keep them, I thought they would hit hard perfomance but not at all.
I can't wait for the texture mods and other enhancements that the tes community will release, the game can look a bit bland mostly in open environments, still I have to agree that this game in 3d is amazing, it gives the feeling of "being there" like few others, the dungeons are simply incredible, I can't wait to get my hmz-t1, better blacks, image quality and the light blockers should give incredible immersion.

Thanks everyone. I tried adjusting the convergence. It made a little difference, but nothing huge. Everything still looks pretty flat. I switched back and forth between Skryim and Wither 2 and the difference is just insane. Any other ideas?

Everything works fine for me except for the crosshair and menu but this is the first game that I think looks better in 2D . It's a dark game and 3D makes it even darker , it just doesn't have the same atmosphere in 3D .

Normally the framerate gets cut in half (seems logic) but not with Skyrim.. anyone?
-edit- the bug seems to be in shadow details; ultra gives 1 FPS @ 3d vision, high 30 fps...
