I wonder if their new "Shader Cache" function can be leveraged for 3D fixes, maybe just for shader detection. Or maybe it reveals more about shader processes and can provide ideas for future fixes. But it is really disapointing from nVidia to claim to have such a strong "Pro DirectX" stance, without actually doing anything for 3D Vision. When DX12 hits, will any game be fixable? Let's hope it will not be needed (maybe VR settles things a bit)

Whoa ... 'theoretically' that could be used to fix games, just replace the cached shader with the fixed shader ... and voila! ... O.O

That shader cache thing is very interesting indeed. I wonder if it was partly done to help us fix games? We've been asking for their assistance in enabling this, so it's very possible! Can't wait until the "team" get their hands on it! The potential risk (as I see it) is people using it to cheat, which may cause them to kill the feature, or for it to be disabled in multiplayer titles. As for the new driver's effect on Watch Dogs, it appears to be minimal over 337.81 and 337.50. There is absolutely no detectable performance difference with SLI enabled and disabled (for me at least), and the 3d situation appears to be the same as before.

ah I checked the russian video and unfortunatley most of the things are true, the ccars do deform but need higher impacct speed and the engine smoke is kind of good in motion. I had the 81 installed previously and I havent noticced anything with the 'new drivers'

I had 337.50 drivers installed and already have a %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp\NVIDIA Corporation\NV_Cache\ folder with bin/toc 'sets' in there. The oldest being from a month ago today, I can access the older files but everything that was created today is locked ... and the filenames are useless as is ... ceb0d3f9641e36c995aa79c71f8b46c0_fce8395f8fd8a84b_15f74c7777689be5_0_1 ... as well as the contents ...

Its almost certainly encrypted to the point there is nothing you can do with it.

Looks like there's two files created for each game, TOC and BIN. We can probably assume TOC is Table Of Contents, as it looks like this is quite a small file.
On an related note, with Watch Dogs and Wolfenstein not supporting SLI, the only games on my "to play" list that would use the second card are Witcher 2 and AC4. Perhaps it's worth selling my second card while it's still reasonably new.
Really? Almost everything I play takes at least some advantage of SLI. Though I wouldn't worry. I would think that an eventual working SLI profile for a game as massive as Watch Dogs is practically guaranteed.

If your not using latest driver for Watch Dogs there is a good chance your fps is cut even more then half [no sli, and whatever reason the main card isn't running at full]. BOTH games require latest nvidia driver. No idea why it took till now to get the driver out. Wolfenstein you had to download the "leaked" drivers/international though its WHQL now. Watch Dogs supports SLI [pretty damn well from what I can tell] I didn't look into the loads cause EVGA precision wouldn't display them for some odd reason... but I got a massive increase from disabling/enabling sli. 35FPS on High -> 60-55FPS Ultra [2D]. I cant speak for 3D vision/Depth buffer. Wolfenstein does as well KIND OF. Game is really unoptomized and I didn't look into how much of the second gpu is used but it does. TBH, I think the engine/optimization is kind of shit for PC at least ------------------------------------------- Long story short, if your getting shittier performance in Watch dogs then you'd expect. Drop your resolution. If FPS does not increase... start looking at your CPU. It has the highest CPU requirement on a game thus far. No way would NVIDIA ever sponsor a game that didn't support SLI... Would be such a headache as well since they are given with cards.

I'm only running an i5 3470 @ 3.2ghz, but there are several reasons I doubt it's the bottleneck. For starters, dropping settings from High to Low results in significant performance increases. Given much of that load is on the GPU (AA, detail level, shaders), the fact that performance improves would suggest the GPU is the bottleneck. I've tested on both low and high settings, and SLI appears to affect neither. Forbes has run benchmarks, and seems like they're seeing similarly low levels of scaling. http://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2014/05/26/watch-dogs-pc-benchmark-results-multiple-amd-and-nvidia-cards-tested/

Going from high to low could change things related to CPU such as shadows. You need to change resolution to determine if its CPU related. http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/guides/watch-dogs-graphics-performance-and-tweaking-guide Is where I'd go if I wanted to hear SLI feedback. TBH I only played for 5 mins and it seems everyone agrees SLI increases performance but many are complaining about stutter *shrug*. No point of playing an Ubisoft game for like 1/2 months imo.

But hey, if you're seeing performance increases with SLI, would you mind sharing some numbers on that? My "benchmarks" have just been standing in a particular place at a particular time of day and eyeballing the fraps counter for an average.

I updated afterwards. Im too lazy to do actual comparions. ------------------------------------------------- Going from high to low could change things related to CPU such as shadows. High to low also changes shader setting which is very CPU related cause it effects like everything. http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/guides/watch-dogs-graphics-performance-and-tweaking-guide Is where I'd go if I wanted to hear SLI feedback.
