I need some advice for X3: Albion Prelude Mods and tweaks for nice 3D Vision
Has any one got any suggestions for running X3: Albion Prelude in 3D Vision?

I installed an X3:TC mod that removed alot of the hud clutter, MilitaryHUD I think it was (I'll check when I get home). But even with this the 2D HUD is quite distracting.

Does anyone have any further suggestions for mods and settings to use?

In X3:Terran Conflict I would only use 3D for screenshots. 3D simply doesn't work well with the way this game's user interface works. I haven't seen Albion Prelude yet but I'm expecting the same there. (MAYBE we can get a 3D pointer in Rebirth but I'll be surprised if that happens.)

Thanks Zloth,

Yeah, I figured as much. pity.

Albion seems to be pretty good at using TC mods, so I'll have a look for others that may help (increased transparency on the crosshiars would be good).

It's not just the interface. The backdrops like starfields, planets, etc.. are at the wrong depth as well. Perhaps this could be changed by modifying meshes like the sky fixes for oblivion, fallout3/NV and skyrim, but really I have no idea what I'm talking about :P

Hmm, I hadn't noticed any issue with the backgrounds, but I hadn't been looking either.

A pity, with a little work this game would look awesome in 3D.

I didn't find the backgrounds to be much of an issue. If you get into a big sector and look at a gate/station that's far away then you should notice that the background picture is rendered closer than the object.
