Questions regarding Edid 3D Vision LG OLED and extended desktop.
Hi, I have just installed a GTX 1060 on a Win10 PC, connected via HDMI through a Denon AVR to my LG 65EF950v passive OLED 3dtv, I also have a Dell 24" U2413f Monitor connected via the DP port and use extended desktop setup - Dell Primary for desktop and the LG extended for 3D, Bluray and Games. I've just installed the edid monitor driver found in this forum and 3D vision 4k60 is working as it should on the LG display but I have some questions about my setup and use of 3D modes... Is there any workaround for the 3D display having to be the primary display for 3D to work? I have an onboard intel 530 IGPU, if I connected my Dell to the Intel HDMI and have only the LG display as the only display connected to the GTX, could this work for the Dell as the Primary desktop display under windows? I use powerdvd for 3d Bluray, can I change resolution to 1080P24 with the Edid driver installed or do I have to remove it to playback 3d bluray? Do I need to have 3DTV play for 3d bluray playback? Thank you for any help with these.

Anyone? Just to update 3D does not work using Intel HDMI for the dell monitor, I get 1080p@60 is not a supported resolution message on the LG when playing back 3D bluray, 3D nvidia driver test works but is in 2d (probably because it see's the Intel connected dell which uses 60hz) although normal desktop and bluray use does, I will put th dell onto the gtx dp port and test again tonight.

There are several threads about 4K TVs, try looking through them. You "do not" need 3DTV Play for Blu-ray playback, you do need to enable 3D in the Nvidia control panel though. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/824274/ Prior to playing a 3D Blu-ray, try setting your desktop to 1920x1080@24Hz.

The EDID mod does not appear to compatible with blu-ray players (I could never get it to work, but 3DTV Play works well for player support). Note that I currently use XBox One for 3D blu-ray playback; PS4 also works, but its Bluetooth interface does not work well with IR-based universal remotes, however. With a 3840x2160 2D Desktop (and NO minimum viewing distance for 2D), why do you need another computer screen? The 4K TV makes an outstanding large format monitor. The only other devices I have connected to my graphics card are Rift and Vive (using active DP to HDMI dongles). I reset Desktop to 1920x1080 only when using HMD, to avoid wasting GPU resources. GPU connection order matters (at least with my PC setup), or I can loose visibility of my boot screen.

PowerDVD will work with EDID as it supports interleaved output but I don't think it will work on extended Desktop. Don't use 1080o @24hz. Before watching a movie just set your TV primary.

Thanks Guy's I recognise you all from the other threads I've looked through before posting here :) Ok, I had a play around with this last night, hence me replying now. Firstly to whyme466, yes I need 2 displays as I use the Dell for desktop use, when the TV is in use - watching tv etc.., then when I need to game, watch movies etc.. i switch the AVR to the PC input that has the gtx hdmi connected. Things got a bit messy, I got 3d working and with powerdvd, great but then normal video in MPC-HC (Madvr codec) was all pinkish and I couldn't resolve it. So I restored my PC to a clean state /before NVidia drivers using an image I made and started from scratch and without the edid mod. For now i'm concentrating in getting 3d and 3d bluary to work correctly, then I will back up to a new image and then play around with the edit mod and try to get everything working. I know now I 'have' to make the LG tv the primary display when using 3D, just need a way to quickly swap primary with secondary instead of going through all the display settings to do it, any suggestions for a shortcut key or best tool to do this? Ok, i set the LG as Primary, installed the drivers again and activated 3d Vision, wizard started and put the LG into 3D mode and finished the setup, now the LG display is stuck in 3D mode, ran the stereoscopic test and exited that, still stuck in 3D mode, started powerdvd, LG TV showed 3D now Off, then 3d now on when starting a 3D movie, powerdvd works fine but exiting it i'm still stuck in 3D mode, rebooted PC and as soon as it's booted LG goes straight into 3D mode :/ I then tried re-installing the drivers - selecting clean install, re-ran 3D vision setup again as above and again i'm left stuck in 3D mode :( I searched the net for solutions which are what I tried as above to no avail, any suggestions to fix this issue? Thanks again.

Ok update on this, I have now got a setup that works and decided to use the Edid route, so I created my own EDID for my 65ef950v and after some testing I found that not only are games 3D interleaved but also 3D bluray movies, so now can play 1080p3d blurays at 4k with 3D via Powerdvd (had to change 3D display type from hdmi 1.4 to Nvidia 3d vision display for this to work), which is a great bonus and created a custom 4k@23.976 for movies. Downloaded eyeswapper tool and use a mulimonitor tool to swap displays, resolutions and frame rates and added in disable/enable stereoscopic 3d. HDR games also work with 4k interleave 3D as well :) Thought I would update this thread with my working solution, thanks for the help guy's.
