Good day all,
I am waiting on my first nvidia card in many years, (I have been using ATI cards for a loong time) and my question is will the 3d vision kit 2 work with my 970 card?
thank you

The card itself, of course, has 3D Vision support, but new drivers broke many games (i mean using 3d vision), For example, I use old 332 driver in order to play games using 3d vison. But this driver doesnt not support new cards like 980/970. Importing game profiles into new drivers do not help. So, Im afraid it will be impossible to play certain games in 3d, And as for me I will wait.. to other's experience to decide to buy new cards or not
I love 3d vision, but nvidia is disappointing me

To use 3D vision, u must have a compatible 120/144Hz monitor, not only 3d vision kit
Yes I have an Asus VG278HE
Then go right ahead;)) It will blow your mind away:)) Once you have everything setup (the actual hardware) DO pop-up here so we can tell you a couple of tips and tricks to get the most of your gaming experience;))
Also drivers are not that busted as some around here let you believe. I am using the latest WHQL drivers and 3D Vision is working properly for me in all the games that I have tested. Couldn't actually find a broken one...
Optimizations might not be the same across different drivers that is true but not completely broken :)

Hey trooper, what games do you want to play? You should be aware that 3D support is pretty poor, as nVidia aren't really doing much to support new games these days. However there is an excellent modding community who have fixed an astounding number of games. When 3D works, it's a whole new experience though.
Here's a list of games that work well.

New games often get support thanks to the excellent work of the community, but it usually takes quite a while to happen (several months).
To answer your question, you should base your decision on what you want to play. But with a 970 and that monitor, you should have a pretty good time of it. You may find yourself wanting a second 970 if you want to play the most demanding titles on the highest settings though.

I think PirateGuyBrush has the right idea there. Take a look at the list of games that are fixed in that HelixMod list, and also look a the 3D Vision Ready list from NVidia here:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-games.html
Then, base your decision upon whether there is enough available today, right now.
Do not base your decision upon future games or future support, because NVidia has already publicly stated that 3D Vision is legacy technology.
The modders here will probably try to fix future stuff, but it's getting harder.
Even given those constraints, my personal biased opinion is that that list of games plus the mind-blowing nature of quality 3D is easily worth the investment. Especially since you've got the monitor and card already.

So could u be so kind to try the world of warcraft ? Maybe im doing something wrong, because any driver after 332 breaks shadows and lights

Yeah. If you've got the card and the monitor, you're almost at the finish line anyways. There's enough out there to justify the extra expense of the kit.
