I fired it up on my DLP and still couldn't get Quad Buffer to work when disabling my custom EDID(3D Vision DLP TV + Onkyo RCVR)... probably because it sees it as having a refresh rate of 60Hz, even though it doesn't when 3D kicks in... One thing I noticed is the resolutions in the Options were missing the 120Hz entries, for instance on my 3D Monitor it looks something like this... 1280x720 1280@720@120Hz ...for each resolution, not sure if you're getting the same or not, and when I did enable Quad Buffer 3D it was just like when I tried it with Discover enabled, only one view is visible.

Quad buffer opengl has very strict whitelisting. Edid overrides aren't enough. Only certain monitors are supported by nvidia in this mode, and if you haven't had success, it's down to the monitor. I tried for years to get this running on crts and dlp projectors that support 120hz. Quad buffer never starts. On a crappy AMD card quad buffer works everytime. It also doesn't support 3dtvplay or interlacing. I gave up and just bought old doom 3 and used helifax's patch.

One hack that does work, is if you have a display that supports 3d over HDMI (frame packed), you can enter that as a custom resolution in doom 3 bfgs console, and trigger frame packed 720p 3d, which is full resolution per eye. You have to know the exact resolution that triggers your display, which you can test in custom resolution in the nvcp.

Whoa lots of info, thanks everyone! Seems like BFG 3D is dead in the water for me unless I use SBS with the projector and Steam link - but I only have wireless from router to the lounge room (stupid me, I put in new coax throu the walls some yrs ago but not CAT6 ! Arrgh double brick house, wont be breaking in the wall again (and no ceiling in the lounge so impossible) I'll try to tweak the 3D on the projector a bit using the local Doom BFG as I recall it was awful. Myy time is limited unfort, hence lack of knowledge re 3D soundback for Doom3 and wrappers for 3D (awesome!!) Yes I have onboard Realtek so I'll try 3dSoundback... EDIT DOOM# already seems to have surroundhmm sound...hmm I was about to try to patch my monitor with hardware EDID but really.. not now, maybe when it gets older :-) I don't think my monitor supports 3D over HDMI... EDIT1: I have no idea what I did but now my 3D has ghosting...Everywhere. Eg in the test application I see double outlines, less than without glasses but before this I the image was crystal clear. I'm lost... I will turn the PC off and try again tomorrow. I hope my glasses didn;t go bad suddenly. Basically there is no proper separation of left and right anymore. I run in native, 120Hz. Wtf... EDIT2: Did a System Restore to the time before I used DDU. 3D is again crystal clear. No more fkin around with the EDIDs, at least until i play some 3D - LOL

Umm this may not belong here but in DOOM3 original with the wrapper all windows are *very* wavy. Brigning depth to zero fixes it but then no 3D. Is there anything I can do about it? This is in my autoexec.cfg... seta com_allowConsole "1" seta r_displayrefresh "120" seta m_strafeScale "15" seta cm_drawNormals "1" // Better Normal maps shaders, (Better gfx !) seta image_filter "GL_LINEAR" // Better 3D, needs HIGH ress to BLUR them a little ! seta s_QuadraticFallOff "0" // Upper the Environmental sound !!! seta s_numberOfSpeakers "6" // Do this Even if your don't have 5.1 sound ! seta r_mode -1 seta r_aspectRatio 1 (0 = 4:3, 1 = 16:9, 2 = 16:10) seta r_customHeight 1080 (Your screen height) seta r_customWidth 1920 (Your screen width) seta g_fov "100" seta r_multiSamples "8" seta r_maxAnisotropicFiltering "16" seta stereoRender_interOccularCentimeters "6" seta stereoRender_deGhost "0" seta stereoRender_convergence "22" (should I ask this in some other forum eg the 3d wrapper?) If your house wiring is decent, you can use powerline adapters. https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Powerline-Pass-through-TL-PA9020P-KIT/dp/B01H74VKZU/ref=sr_1_4 I use these and get 150Mb throughput. They are marked as 2000Mb by the marketing scumbags that rule our world, but you'll never get that. It's basically 100 base-T networking through AC though, which is pretty good.

The autoexec.cfg has nothing to do with the wrapper and shouldn't even be in the same folder as the wrapper... on top of that I know for certain some(most?) of those cvars are BFG Ed specific and won't work with the original version of Doom 3, not to mention some of those comments need to be removed from the lines or commented out properly... seta cvar "value" // comment As far as being 'wavy' I'm assuming you mean the way eye-sync works with id Tech game's 60FPS lock... try AlternateFramesRendering = true ...in the 3DVisionWrapper.ini

'Wavy' means the image behind the windows is extremely (and I mean extremely!) distorted, depending on depth (depth=0->no distortion at all). As monsters sometimes come from an adjacent room it would be nice to see them properly :-) plus other cool stuff behind windows such as Mars scenery etc etc Yes, not sure why I have no separator for comments :-) can't recall where I got those settings(will fix the syntax) from but I see to have surround sound in Doom3 already - maybe it is a fake surround activated by that speakers cvar? It seems to be true ie when I turn away (around) from someone speaking the rear speakers take over. And I am not using 3dsoundback... oh well, if ti works, great. I'll try the setting... @D-Man11: That is a great thread but I cannot see the download link... I downloaded the one from here http://3dsurroundgaming.com/OpenGL3DVisionGames.html#doom3 EDIT: I attach a screenshot of the windows effect :-(

I wouldn't recommend using the Superdepth option since it is similar to CM mode (aka fake 3D) but I believe the glass windows were a bit wonky in the BFG edition as well on high separation. Don't remember much about this though you should play around with convergence as well. Also, I'm not sure but I assume Helifax would've specified somewhere maybe in the 3D fix notes if something was broken on high separation or convergence with his fix, but then again he has always made his fixes work perfectly with custom sep and conv values set in the wrapper config so modifying them sometimes breaks some effects.

Yeah I know you're using the non-BFG... which is why I was telling you that some of those settings/cvars in your autoexec.cfg are for the BFG Edition, not the original version of Doom 3, eg stereoRender_*. I'm getting the same wavy effect, there is a slight wavy effect in 2D, which increases with distance, but it seems to be exaggerated in 3D and even more so just in the left eye... The README mentions the fixes but there's no mention of this in the issues... not sure, I can't remember if it existed when I tried an older version of the fix out... edit:the fix's ini and profile were updated with some references to SuperDepth 3D but it doesn't come with SuperDepth. I tried an older version of the fix I had and it did the same thing, so it's either normal or something other than the fix?

Well then Ok at least I know everyone gets it :-). Could you please tell me which settings are useless for the classic doom 3, from those posted? I fixed them now, they look like: seta com_allowConsole "1" seta r_displayrefresh "120" // <--- is this one actually working? seta m_strafeScale "15" seta cm_drawNormals "1" // Better Normal maps shaders, (Better gfx !) seta image_filter "GL_LINEAR" // Better 3D, needs HIGH ress to BLUR them a little ! seta s_QuadraticFallOff "0" // Upper the Environmental sound !!! seta s_numberOfSpeakers "6" // Do this Even if your don't have 5.1 sound ! seta r_mode "-1" seta r_aspectRatio "1" // (0 = 4:3, 1 = 16:9, 2 = 16:10) seta r_customHeight "1080" // Your screen height seta r_customWidth "1920" // Your screen width seta g_fov "100" seta r_multiSamples "8" seta r_maxAnisotropicFiltering "16" seta stereoRender_interOccularCentimeters "6" seta stereoRender_deGhost "0" seta stereoRender_convergence "22" So stereorender are useless - I can use in fact the keys from the Nvidia control panel and the wheel for depth / convergence and 'frustrum' (I assume, for those frustrated with the game lol - nah, I googled it and found out). Any other setting that are useless and ones that I should have and don't? I hope the refresh and resolution ones work, I query the monitor and it says 1920x1080 120Hz... or a link to recommended settings in DOOM3 would also do... NOTE I realise this is now straying from the original topic (BFG abnd driver) so I might stop after this :-)

in the console try this, type clear to remove the loadinginformation type cvarlist or listcvars ....will now show available cvars type condump "madeupfilenamehere" <creates a text file in the game folder now do it again clear...cmdlist or listcmd....condump XXXX Also google it, I'm pretty sure that there's a site with all of the Doom 3 cvars and an explanation for a lot of them.

Ok, thanks for that! Hopefully I'll find time to play with the 3D now...Got the glasses off someone who used them a total of 5 (five) times...
