Resident Evil 2 Remake

When I investigated RE7's resource freezing last year, I found that the game has a list of similar resources that it chooses randomly from to load during a loading screen. So when a few of those are fixed, it's possible to miss the others simply due to them not being chosen for loading. The broken one(s) not being chosen means the game doesn't freeze on that attempt.     This explains why the game loads for you sometimes rather than never. Also I'm pretty sure that the list differs between windowed and fullscreen. I think Masterotaku plays in fullscreen and I play in windowed mode.

Here's a dumb question for all of you: Do I need Geforce Experience to take full advantage of fixes like this?
Unfortunately now I am stuck at the sewers:
The sewers are the problematic area. The bad buffer (eae0e203) is present in that area. If I don't fix its performance issues, fps drops are really really bad. Random crashes can be considered better. If it's another override the one causing the crashes, enable logging, cause a crash and post the log. I'm not at the sewers with Claire yet. I was playing Axiom Verge while downloading the game update and now I'm playing Yakuza Kiwami too. I have faith in you, Schwing :p. The fix isn't getting on the blog until the crashes are fixed or you and DSS say it's impossible.

Haha thanks! Yeah, I agree wholeheartedly. I've been working daily on it and will let you know when it's ready. For that hash, my idea is to look at the shader(s) that are using it to see if they're the performance problem. I remember that monoing a cshader or two helped RE7's performance at one point before the first game update happened.     Is there a place/chapter aside from the sewers that the hash is used in Leon's campaign? I haven't played RE2 before, so please be specific (non-spoilery). I've decided not to leave the gas station until my work is done.

Starting from the moment you control another character for a while, in Leon's campaign. If you want to get some rain crashes, enable the "[TextureOverride_General_Rain]" and "[TextureOverride_General_Rain2]" overrides that are commented. Be even less strict with match_byte_width if you want a lot of crashes :p.
Great work! I love all the fixes i come across on these forums and helix mod! Had one question if the hdr feature is working again in this final fix?
The proper implementation for 3Dmigoto is complete and it will be in the next release. No idea when, but the RE2 fix can be updated to use it when it's out. You'll be able to set UseVendorExtention=Enable in re2_config.ini and see if the in-game HDR option is not greyed out for you.

there is any way to combine your fix with reshade? I want disable vignette(your fix) and add "clarity" (reshade).
I have a pirated version, is it indistinct? unzips the rar the exe directory and the game no longer starts
Doesn't seem to work. I often download "demo" versions as well because I need to see how well the game will run in 4k and 3D because some games are so dependent on CPU that I get massive bottlenecking making 3D unplayable for me. IF the game works I will purchase, I've had to return so much stuff on steam because of shoddy VR games and poorly optomized 3D games that the "demo" route is usually best for me. Looking to buy RE2 but would like to know if anyone is playing with the 4K mod and if it's playable? Im running Titan Pascal, and 3930K processor. Does the game have in game resolution scaling, where I can set a lower rendering resolution for performance (love this feature) as I can then run the game in 1440p and it still looks great in 4K. and does this feature work with the fix?

Thanks Master Otaku, Haven't posted in a while and it's great to see how far you've come as a shader hacker. I remember when you were just fixing basic games and now you're tackling massively difficult AAA gamwes that require so much work. 10 WIP! wow that's some dedication, and amazing achievement!
