For Skyrim in particular, I'd discourage that as one of your first choices. It is possible to get it all working with mods including 3D, but it's on the far end of the hassle factor.
I dunno mate,
Most people mod Syrim to the nuts anyway and the OP asked for specific mods he should be aware of!
The 3D 'mod' is just one more to add to Skyrim's table and quite a straight forward one if you ask me! Unless you are fussy, you just bung it into the folder! No need to source Nexus stuff and all the other stuff you need to allow the mod you want to function. Also most Skyrim mods have options!
If you can mod Skyrim, 3D is a walk in the park! :)
Yep, pretty much true, I just know there are Skyrim+3D gotchas. Some sky mods break in 3D, some other mods break shadows. e.g. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/706735/any-skyrim-3d-vision-experts-out-there-my-skies-are-all-jacked-up-even-with-helix-mod/
So, much more to read/try/experiment. When the kit is new- best to just play. Modding comes later. Then, you start ShaderHacking. :->

It can look like this with 40+ mods - just uses Nexus no fiddling at all..
If you install a 3D breaking mod, just press uninstall, its that easy..

Another question inc :>
I've got 2 monitors connected to my PC.
Everytime I'm booting my PC and start a game (e.g. Tomb Raider) it'll start Red/Blue.
Even Ctrl T will only toggle normal/RB.
After a while I found out that first I've to choose my displaying device (Acer Predator) in the Nvidia 3D Panel (stereoscopic).
But everytime after booting my PC the default option is again sth like "Nvidia Testview" and I've to choose my 3D ready monitor again...
I hope there's nothing wrong with replying to this thread instead of starting a new one ^.^

Which driver are you using?
I had that problem real bad a few drivers ago.
But on 358.87/W7 64, I've had zero issues.
Use a USB port that is directly on the motherboard and preferably USB 2.0 can sometimes help.
I'm running 359.00
Everytime I boot my PC and I open up the Nvidia Control Panel there is "3D Vision Discover" chosen as default.
It's not a big deal for me to change this to my 3D monitor ... but it's annoying to do it over and over again :/

Nah
I have to do that sometimes too.
I think it's to do with the order in which windows loads the drivers. IIRC, bo3b made a script that got Windows to load the stereoscopic drivers last, so they picked up the 3D monitor?

I had a hell of a lot of problems getting Skyrim to ever work in 3d without crashes and a hell of a lot of broken stuff (thats kinda par for the course of a Bethsoft game though.)
So I'd agree with bo3b its a very bad first choice. Especially if you use alot of visual mods. (which I did)
It's also well known the creation engine will crash when too much vram and memory is used.
As for VR and Dk2.
It sucks, but hold on to the pipe dream its going to save 3d. It's not. 3dvision at this point is far superior.
and guess what, its really not that hard to get 3d games working just fine, unless your a moron with a attention span of an autistic 3 year old.
The reasons people didn't grab hold of the tech this time around are the same reasons VR will fail. People complain about having to wear glasses, and you think they are going to down a freaking helmet?
lol ... just lol
