I'm trying to run the setup wizard for stereoscopic 3D. I get the message that my Mitsubishi WD-73835 DLP is running an older version of firmware. I followed the instructions for copying the files from the firmware update folder to a flash drive. I have copied these files from 2 different sources (from the CD that came with the glasses and from the latest driver cd download). I have used 2 different types of flashdrives (503MB and a 4gig) and reformatted both of them to FAT32. There are no other files on either drive. The firmware version currently on my DLP is 010.00. I turn of the tv. I unplug the tv power cord. I have plugged in a flashdrive. I plug the powercord in and wait for the green timer light on the tv to quit. Usuall less than a minute. Light on the flashdrive nevers flashes. I take the flashdrive out and turn on the tv. Once on I press menu and then 123. I get a "RESET SERVICE MENU WARNING: RESET SYSTEM DEFAULTS. RESETS ALL SETTINGS BACK TO THE DEFAULTS. To reset system defaults press enter. Press exit to cancel." If I press enter I then have to reset all my devices again and I still show firmware 010.00 version and still get the same message from the setup wizard.
I have tried calling Mitsubishi and they don't know the diffence between software and firmware and claim that it is an Nvidia problem since it's "their software" I'm trying to run.
Computer I'm using is a self-built Quad core (Qx9650) CPU, 9800GX2 x2 GPU's, 2gig RAM, 1200 watt PSU with VISTA 64-bit OS, using 3 10,000 rpm Raptors in RAID 5.
Also just to make sure the USB port is working on the tv I have plugged in a flashdrive while tv was on and the flashdrive lights up like it should.

I know that Quad Core SLI is not supported!!! a 9800GX2 has 2 video cards in it. So with a second 9800GX2 you have quad core GPU. This could be your problem, but I don't know. I have a samsung 3d Ready t.v. that I use for 3d Vision

I have SLI disabled from the Nvidia control panel.
This doesn't seem like a computer problem but a firmware problem on the tv.

I have a WD-73835 running here. I did have to flash the DLP bios as per instructions in the install. The flashing process worked fine with the 1.07 drivers and the TV came back up again after the light flashed for a while. I can now see stereo from the demo application (launched from display properties). However, for other applications, such as Medusa, I don't see stereo. The light on the IR transmitter comes up bright green when running Medusa, so the system *thinks* it's running stereo. I do see the application run (from the stereo desktop icon); it's pretty, but not stereo. The other problem I had was that Medusa did not initially recognize the directX DLLs .. installing the March 2009 DirectX SDK solved this problem.
Two things - 1) Are you sure that your usb key was formatted properly 2) Anyone got any ideas about my problem ?
Setup : Vista 64 on a dell XPS box w/ 2 x 280's running in non-SLI mode. Second card is driving a dell 24" LCD panel. I've tried messing with the DLP resolution, but to no avail, still no stereo in medusa. DLP is the primary monitor in my setup.
