Took the leap of faith and coughed up the cash to get 3D vision along w/ the 2233rz LCD.
Never looked back once, this stuff is amazing!!!
Been reading a lot of posts here, and one thing caught my eye. People are talking about convergence and pop-out affects. I'm thinking that by pop-out affects we are talking about stuff that looks like it is coming out of the screen at you and not the depth going into the screen.
I tried playing w/ the convergence settings in batman aa, but all that happens is that I start seeing double image of everything and the images move further apart as I keep increasing.
So I'm confused with the purpose of convergence.
I read many posts saying that Batman is amazing for pop-out affects, but although Batman looks fabulous in s3d, I don't really see anything coming out of the screen at me...
Am I doing something wrong with the settings? Am I misunderstanding what people here mean by pop-out?

For decent pop out effect you need to enable the key short cuts in the nvcp under 3D, then use F5 and F6 along with the depth slider on the led emiter to find a reasonable (to your liking) pop out effect. When I did mine I got some pretty decent pop out, that good one of the guards guns was nearly touchin my nose.

Same for me too. I played batman and it looked awsome but i did not have the great, fantastic pop-out that others have described. I do have the advanced settings enabled to allow for convergence but i just get the tearing effect after a certain point and have to reduce convergence, also lowering depth to allow for an increase in convergence-helps- but still not achiveing the same pop-out results as others have said. Best convergence results for me have been with the "Test steroscopic 3d" option in the nvcp. Now, are my standards too high after seeing the test screen or am i still missing something?

here is how I usually do it:
for 3d person view games good starting point is to adjust convergence centered on your "avatar" or "hero" that you are playing. take off glasses and adjust convergence until the avatar on the screen looks "solid" (as it normally looks when you play the game without 3DV enabled). Play for a while with that setting, so that you can adjust and see how it works for you, remember that popout will happen occasionally, only when objects come close "to camera". After a while try to increase convergence a bit more and see if that works for you. If you overdo it will just mess up the picture.

Maybe you just don't recognise the pop out effect. Try moving your finger to batman, when you have popout you can put your finger through batman, and it will appear double. If your not touching the screen while batman and your finger are both in focus you are experiencing pop-out. Sometimes it's not that easy to see. But it is certainly there ;)

Yeh, I guess that's probably it. My perception of what is pop out.
Like i tried your test, and by playing with convergence I got it where I am not touching the screen and my finger and batman are in focus. I guess my brain isn't thinking still that it is coming out of the screen. :(

I have just received my 3D Vision and was having the same problem. Games looked 3D but inside the screen, not popping out. I then enabled the advanced hot keys in the NVidia control panel, loaded up Batman and hit Ctrl+F6. You need hit it 50+ times but trust me you won't believe what you see!! I feel sorry for all those console fanboys that fight over whether PS3 or 360 is better. Compared to this they are both SNES graphics.

Doesn't Batman become like a real mini world all of the sudden?
I just keep zooming and looking around, the freakin joker looks so amazing.
I mean, the whole world is just something else....fighting also is more immersive as you can see and not imaging the depth and separation between the enemies and your character....words cannot describe it....in fact, pretty much every game becomes a world...can you tell I am enjoying gaming since I got the glasses more than I have done it in years? /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
