3D Vision problems with GeForce 9600M and Acer HD245HQ
Hello,
I've bought a 3D Vision Kit and an Acer GD245HQ and am experiencing some problems.
I'm using Windows 7 64bit on a notebook with a GeForce 9600M (a Samsung r560 aura). I installed the latest graphics driver (197.16) and 3d vision driver from the nvidia homepage.
Setting up stereoscopic 3D with the wizard works fine, up to the test images; they're just flickering, in the same way with or without the shutter glasses, the glasses don't seem to be doing anything at all. The IR emitter is plugged in and glowing green, the glasses are charged.
There are two things I'd like to notice:
i) I can't choose any video mode with more than 75Hz, which is quite strange, because I tried using 120Hz modes with an old CRT before buying the acer one, so the card seems to be capable of it, and the monitor is, too;
ii) As my notebook doesn't have a DVI output, I've connected the monitor using a VGA cable; I couldn't figure out if this might cause the problem, but I suppose I should note it anyway.

Hi
Glad you made the purchase, I know what the problem is.
The Acer HD245HQ is a 3D Vision-Ready LCD that requires a Dual-link DVI connection from the GPU. You are trying to connect it to the GeForce 9600M using a VGA cable which isnt supported.
You will need to use a desktop PC or a laptop with a dual-link DVI connection.

No, you won't be able to do that with the Samsung over HDMI, you can be able to do something with the VGA however, but the only monitor that has a VGA input and can be used with 120Hz over it is the ViewSonic VX2268WM...

I also have got an ACER notebook with 9600M graphics.
That notebook has got a HDMI port in addition to the VGA one.
Will I be able to connect my SAMSUNG 2233RZ via HDMI->DVI-cable and have stereoscopic 3D?
Thanks in advance!
