Here is my dxsettings.ini code
The reason I have an extra layer of code under proxylib is for my FXAA config I use to compliment the lighting. I will attach my skyrim.ini, prefs and dxserttings for you. My Skyrimprefs.ini is heavily optimised for shadows too :)
thanks a lot for this. but im confused now.
i just want to play skyrim in 3d with ENB enabled, you know that cool bokeh depth of field and SSAO effects. my question is, does you config enable me to do this?
can i use jasmin ENB with your config for instance?
because i got RCRN and helix running already together and it looks ok, but nothing compared to real ENB mods.

Milamber, thanks so much for sharing your config details. Since I'm new to Skyrim, new to 3D Vision, and just bought a new computer, I was hoping you could clarify the ordering steps when starting from a clean Skyrim install in terms of 3D Vision setup, Skyrim settings, dxsettings.ini settings, Helix setup, image processing mods like RCRN (or Jasmin or Superb or whatever you suggest), and ENB Customizer (if that's recommended). Since I'm used to gaming in Steam by just hitting the "Play" button, I have to confess I'm feeling very intimidated and would be incredibly grateful for some blow by blow guidance. If it matters, my system is a CORE I7 3770K 3.5G, SLI GTX 670 2GB, Asus MAXIMUS V GENE Z77, 16GB RAM, and Asus VG278H 27" monitor.

I have been messing around trying to get ENB working with Helix's 3D fix since I wanted to get SSAO and true HDR in the game. I am also using the Ultra Realistic World Lighting mod because I like the look of the bright days and darker nights so I have been tweaking the ENB to look like it as mich as possible when it is enabled.
I have Helix mod as the base using the proxylib function of DX9Settings.ini to load the ENB .dll. I am then using the proxylib function of ENB to load injectFXAA so that I could use it's sharpening and FXAA function. Here are some screenshots showing the game without SSAO and ENB enabled and the second one is with it on. These were taken with default 100% depth on a 27" monitor. I did not use my increased depth hack for them.

Arioch, could you please enumerate the steps to set this up, so that a newb like me can understand the ordering of the relevant installs for the Helix, DX9Settings, and ENB/URWL?

im also quite new to this - so anyone please correct me if im wrong.
1. when you install helix fix it should contain a file named dxsettings.ini
you can open it with an editor
2. there under general you should add this line:
ProxyLib = x:\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\enb.dll (without spaces after the dot)
x for the drive you got steam installed. and save the changes in dxsettings.ini
3. now when you download a enb mod from sykrimnexus for instance there will be a file called d3d9.dll (or something like that - a .dll for sure)
you put that dll in you skyrim folder (like you would normaly) but first have to rename it to enb.dll (if thats what you written under point 2. and do NOT overwrite helix d3d9.dll)
you could call it whatever.dll but then you would need to put the line in the dxsettings.ini like that:
ProxyLib = x:\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\whatever.dll (again whatever.dll without space, dont know why the forum enters a space in my descrition /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' /> )
4. start the game and hope it works.
as i said im no expert on this, so if i told you anything wrong plz. correct me.

It is a matter of taste sometimes, and I have not tried with a lot of mods, but I have installed some of them and these are a must for me:
- Nvidia 3D Vision Helix mod for patch 1.5 or later (solves 3d problems - of course you must install if you are reading this forum)
- W.A.T.E.R - Water And Terrain Enhancement Redux (improves vanila water a lot)
- Skyrim HD (improves vanila textures a lot)
- Skyrim Flora Overhaul (improves flora a lot)
- Static Mesh Improvement Mod
- Realistic Lighting with Customization
- More Dynamic Shadows and Striping Fixed (just a must for me when using Realistic Lighting with dark interiors option - interiors are totally different - be aware that your framerate will decrease, but I think it worth it)

- SkyUI
- Categorized Favorites Menu
- Immersive HUD - iHUD
Be carefull to install a lot of mods, because some of them are not compatible and may crash Skyrim. Use Nexus Mod Manager to install/unistall mods.
John1213, thanks so much for the directions. If I also want to make Realistic Lighting with Customization work, is there a way to do it?

Also remember to shutdown MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision if you are using them as they cause Skyrim to crash with ENB - you can still use FRAPS though.

If anyone is interested in having SSAO in the game with 3D enabled I have made it work using enb and even have inject FXAA working with it as well. I am going to simply paste here the post I made over at Rage3D. If you have messed with ENB before and understand the proxy function of HeliX's mod then this should make sense to you...
"If you are still interested in what I was fiddling around with I have my settings available if you want them. I set up ENB to basically just add SSAO but this will also add God rays and window lights. I tried using all the other functions but didn't like how the fog was looking at times, especially in rainy weather, so I kept the game's original post-processing for everything else.
I found a decent FXAA injector that has the FXAA tool and high quality sharpening. I set it up to do some sharpening and have the FXAA enabled but you can always change it to your tastes.
Here is a link to my ENB+FXAA files - I would have used Mediafire but that site has been giving me issues lately.
If you are using a different FXAA at the moment just remove them from the Skyrim folder. After that just unzip the contents of the downloaded zip file into your Skyrim main folder:
I already set up the proxy correctly in the enbseries.ini file.
Before you launch the game go into where your SkyrimPrefs.ini file is in your documents folder and make a back-up of it. Then open up the original file and change the following line to read as follows:
sD3DDevice="ENB"
If you don't the game will reset your settings, which sucks if you have any custom settings in there. I could not get the SSAO function to work with the version of ENB that I used until I set the "ForceFakeVideocard" option in the enbseries.ini to "true" so that is the reason for changing that setting.
As is the case with most of the ENB mods you can toggle it off and on in the game by hitting the shift+f12 key combination. I was amazed how much better it made the game look with it on.
There is apparently a bug with the ENB SSAO that makes the water more transparent but it isn't that bad TBH once you see it. You will have to decide if the performance loss of using SSAO is worth the performance hit or not. If you don't like the SSAO or it tanks your performance too much then there is no reason to use the files I uploaded really.
I will say that the SSAO looks awesome in the game and I am definitely going to keep it on my end!"
P.S. - Don't forget to shutdown MSI Afterburner/EVGA Precision before you run the game or it will crash. Those type of programs don't work with ENB apparently.

Skyrim spoiled all other games for me. Everything outside Skyrim looks bland and boring :(
Try playing it in DiD mode (http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1377219-the-skyrim-dead-is-dead-thread-viii/page__st__90) with roleplay mods like Frostfell, Basic Needs and others. Brings even more immersion to already the most immersive game
dont know why but your config would not work for me. ENB doesnt want to start at all. And i made the stuff you posted.
probably i missed something...
@Milamber
WOW thank you so much for you config. i love it! its great and works without problems in 3d vision!
thank you so much - now i can enjoy skyrim in 3d with SSAO and DOF
edit: ok there are some problems with shadows and water here and there but other then that its great
edit2: actually i was too fast with this.
when i wrote edit1 i was playing a dungeon and later it was night in the game.
after sunset everything is really out of place and unplayable - its like playing without helix fix.
dont know what im doing wrong.
ariochs config doesnt work at all for me.
milambers is a great ENB mod but unplayable in 3d like all the others.
Is there a mod to enable ALL skyrim animations at 1080p 24hz? Anything below 30fps and the skyrim engine stops alot of animation (such as tree swaying). Unfortunately that sucks for people like me trying to play in 1080p 3D on a 3DTV. Has anyone figured out a way to get all the animations working (other than dropping down to 720p 60hz)?

Since I'm used to gaming in Steam by just hitting the "Play" button, I have to confess I'm feeling very intimidated and would be incredibly grateful for some blow by blow guidance. If it matters, my system is a CORE I7 3770K 3.5G, SLI GTX 670 2GB, Asus MAXIMUS V GENE Z77, 16GB RAM, and Asus VG278H 27" monitor.

I have been messing around trying to get ENB working with Helix's 3D fix since I wanted to get SSAO and true HDR in the game. I am also using the Ultra Realistic World Lighting mod because I like the look of the bright days and darker nights so I have been tweaking the ENB to look like it as mich as possible when it is enabled.

wow thanks gonna try it out!
@imaginequest
im also quite new to this - so anyone please correct me if im wrong.
1. when you install helix fix it should contain a file named dxsettings.ini
you can open it with an editor
2. there under general you should add this line:
ProxyLib = x:\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\whatever.dll (again whatever.dll without space, dont know why the forum enters a space in my descrition
4. start the game and hope it works.
as i said im no expert on this, so if i told you anything wrong plz. correct me.

Is there a dummy's guide, or like a top 5 must have mods for 3D gaming on skyrim?
Is there a dummy's guide, or like a top 5 must have mods for 3D gaming on skyrim?
- Nvidia 3D Vision Helix mod for patch 1.5 or later (solves 3d problems - of course you must install if you are reading this forum)
- W.A.T.E.R - Water And Terrain Enhancement Redux (improves vanila water a lot)
- Skyrim HD (improves vanila textures a lot)
- Skyrim Flora Overhaul (improves flora a lot)
- Static Mesh Improvement Mod
- Realistic Lighting with Customization
- More Dynamic Shadows and Striping Fixed (just a must for me when using Realistic Lighting with dark interiors option - interiors are totally different - be aware that your framerate will decrease, but I think it worth it)
Other mods important for me are:
- SkyUI
- Categorized Favorites Menu
- Immersive HUD - iHUD
Be carefull to install a lot of mods, because some of them are not compatible and may crash Skyrim. Use Nexus Mod Manager to install/unistall mods.

Also remember to shutdown MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision if you are using them as they cause Skyrim to crash with ENB - you can still use FRAPS though.

Here is a link to my ENB+FXAA files - I would have used Mediafire but that site has been giving me issues lately.
http://www.filefactory.com/file/6xu2z2lrt17n/n/ENB_FXAA.zip
I assume you are using Helix's mod so check the DX9Settings.ini file and make sure to set up the proxy line under the [General] tab with:
ProxyLib = C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\enb.dll
If you are using a different FXAA at the moment just remove them from the Skyrim folder. After that just unzip the contents of the downloaded zip file into your Skyrim main folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\
I already set up the proxy correctly in the enbseries.ini file.
Before you launch the game go into where your SkyrimPrefs.ini file is in your documents folder and make a back-up of it. Then open up the original file and change the following line to read as follows:
sD3DDevice="ENB"

@Arioch
dont know why but your config would not work for me. ENB doesnt want to start at all. And i made the stuff you posted.
probably i missed something...
@Milamber
