I have a 9800GTX +

Works great.
I have a 9800GTX +

Works great.
It depends 1680x1050 is pretty taxing in 3D, and with a 9800GT you're going to be turning graphics options off just to make it playable.

I have 2x280GTX's in SLI and there's games I can't even run max in 3D.

IF you can afford it get a 260 minimum, otherwise you may want to run 3D games in lower than naitive resolution, or with reduced settings.

Yeah, but to be fair, you are kind of a wiener. /shifty.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':shifty:' />

Seriously though, what he says is correct. It will be plenty playable with a 9800, but it would be a great idea to get something more powerful, as 3d will cut frame rates in roughly half.

I have two 9800GT 1Gig cards in SLI and the only thing I need to turn down is AA ( I never use it anyway). Other than Crysis I don't have any game that suffers.

I only really ever use 2xaa myself when using 3d stereo since it is more or less 2xAA and 2xSSAA which looks really good already.

One more vote for the 260. dont get anything less as its way heavy on the GPU, the frames is being cut in half!
I have a GTX 285 and in some games it even bring that to it's knees!

Annyway good luck with your purchase and trust me bro, you will love it, it's the best thing ever and once you go 3D you will never ever go back to 2D again I promise.
So it's definetly well money spent you will have the best time of your life /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

+1 thats for sure as each eye's gets 1680*1050 its feels like you said 2SSAA for free /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I rarely even think about putting on even 2AA as it just looks so clean and crisp. when I got it I just gamed and was in total chock as everyone else and after a while
I got to think about it. what I have played without any AA and it just looks so damn clean LOL!

3D Vision FTW!!

+1 on the 2x260's if you're budgetizing or 2x 275's/285's if you're performance'izing.

Honestly, I don't think I'd even try to run 3dV with anything less than a 260.

basically see how it works for you and then from there go on. If you think you need the added Hardware then go for it.

Everywhere I've read SLi especailly the GTX 200 series kinda say you only see the improvment in highter that 1920 X 1200 resoltions for regular 3d gaming. minus the S3D.

My 2 9800gts in SLI benchmark close to a GTX 280. I love my Eye candy but it's all about the budget

I was tempted top pop up to a GTX 295 but with the price point over over $500 I just can't justify it with a decrease in the framebuffer.
mentally I can't see myself goign down in VRam with a new card I buy. And as i said it works fine for me

Maybe so, but sli 280s are extremely useful when stereo 3d is worked in. It will be nice when 3-way SLI becomes fully supported.

Yeah I guess it would be nice. But not all of us can afford the higher end of gaming hardware. Hopefully i can save some money for a 300 series card in the near future
