Good news is that it'll obviously be a very pretty game and will look great on our PCs at 60fps. Bad news is that the console gamers who drive the industry have such painfully low standards :/

Wow, with the obscene amount of money I've spent on my PC this year, I didn't think I'd fail to meet the recommended requirements for a game so soon (not even mentioning the "ultra" requirements)! This baby is asking for a hyperthreaded or 8-core CPU! Next-gen here we come. http://www.miastogier.pl/wiadomosc,24438.html

Im not sure how real that is. Why is CPU spec massively increasing per spec? According to that you need a faster CPU then what we need for 120hz gaming. According to that it requires $275 GPU at ultra which makes sense but... a $550 CPU.

I seriously doubt this game on ultra can tap out a quad core CPU, unless its running insane amounts of physics calculations and interactive destruction - and from the gameplay previews, it isn't doing that. I think this is pure chest pounding, not too far from the specs they posted for Max Payne 3 ultra. In the end they said they tested the game on a high end I7 with 16GB RAM and it worked fine so they decided to say it "supported that spec" which is a bit different to saying it required that spec to run on the highest settings.

I'm sure there's more than a little chest-beating going on. I guess Watch Dogs is the first major 'next-gen' game to come out, so Ubisoft want to hype it up and make it sound like Crysis 4. But on the other hand, the CPUs on current consoles are ancient, so it doesn't surprise me that CPU requirements should dramatically jump up once a game is not designed for them. Especially an open-world game that allegedly has more cars, people, and general activity going on than ever seen before. That's a lot of AI and physics for the CPU to keep track of. I remember reading an article a while ago by the Assassins' Creed 3 devs (also ubisoft of course) where they talked about all sorts of dynamic AI and animation systems that they built. For example, things that read the surroundings and controlled the footsteps of the main character to be much more realistic and in harmony with the terrain. However, they had to actually completely turn off a lot of this stuff in the game, because current consoles' CPUs couldn't handle it. But they built that code anyway, knowing that they'll use it in upcoming games. So yeah, looks like Watch Dogs will include some features that were deemed simply unfeasible in the current-gen.

Now that the release date has been announced (May 27) we should turn up the heat on 3D support! *crosses fingers*

This game does look like it would be awesome in 3D. Unfortunately it will probably end up like every other game. Having fixes. At least it will still be a great game though. And dat DMX. xD

Shinra358 I guess you mean, it will end up having "issues", not "fixes". If it ends up with "fixes", I'll be a happy piglet :-) If this game ends up only half as impressive as it seems, what a game it will be! Ubisoft had big balls to delay it. They did it for Far Cry 3, and what a ride that was... Fingers crossed.

Why would we want to read comments from angry console players? Basically, at this point, they are making a big deal out of nothing imo. Just wait for the launch and seriously who thought ps4 could have a comparable graphics of a really high end pc ubisoft demo'ed watch dogs with? yes i saw the new videos too, they are not as bad as gaf is making them out to be. That one part on the bridge looks somewhat really bad, rest of the video is good.

Not really a concern for pc especially since its nvidia sponsored. It may be crap, run like crap..... but it won't look like crap. Sadly the run like crap is pretty high chance when dealing with Ubisoft + sponsored games. -------------------------------- TBH, people should blame new consoles not ubisoft. People expected them to change everything except games as is were running at 30fps on old consoles. Now people expect 1080p @ 60fps on new consoles. 720p @ 30 FPS old consoles vs 1080p @ 60fps on new consoles = 6 times more pixels per second and sadly can't afford any thing else.

Watch Dogs will be DX11, 64-bit. So if it doesn't work out-of-the-box (unlikely), it's probably going to have to wait for 64bit 3dmigoto to be done. http://kotaku.com/your-pc-must-be-this-burly-to-play-watch-dogs-1558779177
