Ok my findings so far is on my Alienware AW2310 with 3d Vision, disabling in game or with the nvidia emitter / cntrl T is all the same. I can control depth but not convergence wich sucks.
Playing through my Samsung 3d TV with 3DTV Play though crashes the game everytime. I had to disable 3DTV Play in the Nvidia control panel and use the Crysis 2 ingame 3D option set to side by side and it works wonderfully.
So anyone looking to play Crysis 2 on a 3D tv won't need to purchased 3DTV play but if your in this forum, you probably already own the nvidia 3d vision software anyway lol.
NOTE: The game looks amazing and is running super smoothly on Extreme settings at 1920x1080 with 3D enabled on both my 3d Vision alienware and through my Samsung. I am running a evga Geforce GTX465 1gig card if you needed to know.
Man I am drooling over the anticipation of the direct x11 update. If this game looks this good now...holy crap!! This engine has some great effects and I like some of the technical game stuff too, like the cover system is wonderful if you ask me. Kinda like Killzone 2 and 3 but way smother and simpler without the need to press a button to enter cover. When you peek around the corner your character will even rotate his body a little out of cover...great effect. The sound effects are also amazing. I would love to see more developers start using this engine.
The story and presentation so far is also very wonderful. I am really digging this game and was a huge fan of crysis and crysis warhead.

I installed and started playing the full version (steam) this morning. It just worked and looks great in 3d. Runs fast. I barely notice the slightly cheated 3D, only in some cases of obscuration. I think this is a very promising development in 3d gaming.
Runs fast on my hardware. Gtx570 and projector.

I bit the bullet and bought a GTX 580 in anticipation of Crysis 2 coming out this week. Do the currently available drivers support the game with a profile for 3D Vision?

A cover system in Crysis 2?, are you playing a console version?, can you show a screenshot of this cover system please?, thanks.
[/quote]
I'm playing on PC:
It dosn't work on every surface, but seems to work whenever there is a combat area or situation...very cool. You just walk up to a wall or something and bam your in cover, or crouch if its a low wall. Simple and effective. You can pop up to look or if your by the side/edge you can pop out to the left or right.

I've been playing for a while today and overall I think its very good.
One thing that does bug me a little bit are the artifacts you see around the gun.
I dont know if this is an aspect of their depth buffer approach to 3D but around the gun each eye sees something like a transparent shape where the other eye sees the gun but it doesnt fill in the background perfectly.
In this screenshot its pretty obvious looking at the iron sight and the tip of the barrel:

I been playing it in 3D and man this game looks awesome... i don't really play on my 3d monitor because of the ghosting but with this game idk its just perfect.
this game looks really amazing and with my Sennheiser pc 360 and Asus Xonar Essence STX it feels as if i was inside the suit lol! like when it talks to you really nice sound effects.

Ugggh Why do they lock convergence?! /wallbash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wallbash:' />
3d looks good ... but it could look so much better, if they would just let you tweak it! /verymad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':verymad:' />
That intro movie looks so freaking awesome in 3d though, cutscenes and HUD look great too.
Maybe there's a way to change the convergence setting in some config file somewhere ... oh well, great FPS action for sure.

Thanks for the screenshots. When dynamic cover system was mentioned i thought of third person cover. I don't understand the cover system for first person, surely you would just normally crouch/hide behind objects, why would they have a cover system in first person view?. I'll probably understand it better when i get to play the game. For some reason i can't view the screenshots in 3D with the nvidia 3d vision photo viewer, i posted some screenshots of just cause 2 the other day and they don't show 3d when viewd directly from the forum posts, i wonder what i'm doing wrong?. Although, i was able to view a screenshot of assassins creed brotherhood in 3D from another poster here.

Unless it is dramatically better 3d then what was in the demo De Blob 2 has it beaten.
For the implementation it's Good 3D like looking at a movie 3D. Not what we are accustomed to see in regular video gaming though. I was surprised when I bought the game and tried it.

Kinda like Killzone 2 and 3 but way smother and simpler without the need to press a button to enter cover. When you peek around the corner your character will even rotate his body a little out of cover...great effect. The sound effects are also amazing. I would love to see more developers start using this engine.
