Upgrading 2x570sli to one GTX 780 with 3D surround v1
I have 3D surround working on 2 570's in sli. This gives me 1.28G working video ram for my games. I use the V1 3d emitter and 3 identical ASUS 120 mhz monitors. My main use is iRacing - a race driving simulator.
Questions I have, if I upgrade to one 780 :
Can the new 780 work with the V1 of the emitter/glasses or do I need the monitors with the emitters built in? That would be a deal breaker for me as it would add 3 new monitors and a new 3D vision kit to the upgrade.
What performance gains could I realistically expect?
With 3G of ram in the 780 will my games see all 3 Gig, or is it only seeing 1.5 G due to the 3d use?

Performance should only be marginally better, the 780 is about 10% slower than a Titan.
Supposedly the 780 can run Nvidia Surround off a single card, like the Titan. Unless Nvidia are screwing us over with drivers, then theres no reason the older emitter and glasses wont work.

Nvidia began supporting surround + accessory display via a single GPU with the release of the 680 and driver 301.
If you look at the surround page, it seems to imply that the 580/590 are capable as well as the 670, 680 and 690. I think the 580/590 can not support the 4th accessory display though like the 6XX GPUs

That's the bit that got me concerned. It implies that you need the 3D Vision V2 capable monitors. I need to be sure if it supports the V1 emitter and glasses. The way that's worded I have real doubts.

The only thing that you would need to buy if you are going from 570s SLI'd to a single 780 GPU for surround, is a DP to DL DVI active adapter. Some of the newer 3D monitors have display port, allowing the user to avoid the adapter.

I think your main concern should be bottlenecking, depending on your cpu/motherboard.
The only differences with the V2 glasses are that they have a longer battery life, larger lenses and are reported to be more comfortable.
3D Vision 1 and 2 glasses/emitter are cross compatible with eack other and both new and old monitors.
Lightboost, is a technology built into the monitors.
Are there 780 benchmarks out? I really cant recommend a card without benchmarks/user feedback.
The 600 series were a mess for the first 2 months. Early adopting a 680 was a headache.
Keep in mind if you buy 780 and you want SLI down the line you are gonna probably need new power supply. I think its 500 watts just off of 2 gpu's.

Yea they are. On average 8% slower than Titan at stock speeds. The Gigabyte factory OC model is faster than the Titan. Obviously the Titan overclocks too, but that shows how little you get for your extra $350.
Some review sites are getting pretty lucky with them and getting overclocks dangerously close to 690 performance. Good things come to those who wait.
Nvidia really screwed over Titan owners. On the plus side, GK110 for everyone. Woopie.

Keep in mind that these are K20X rejected chips and may not overclock well depending on the quality of the GK110 that you receive. At least that's the way I understand it from reading this post.

Yes I am panicking about mine being a bad OCer, hence the obsessive data collection :)
