3D on projector
  1 / 2
I have an Acer X1261 projector which is 3D ready
When I found out that call off duty black ops was 3D ready (I play xbox 360) I went and purchased the Nvidia 3D vision glasses in hopes to experience 3D gaming
It comes with a black hub thing that i don't know what is for, and all of the instructions are for PC ONLY.
I know that my projector is compatible with this because when i go in the menu of the projector, I can turn on the 3D mode and change it to "Nvidia 3D ready", so it will work
I just have NO IDEA how to set it up. I connected the hub to the xbox 360 but the light on the hub does not go "light green" like it should, it just blinks orange
I cannot connect the hub to the projector as there is no USB port

Please help!!

How can i get this going??

Thank you very much in advance

I think you are missing two requirements /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />

The instructions are for PC ONLY for a reason...

Good luck. And btw a computer seems to be required still.
Also they are using a TV, not sure if your projector has a ir sync
port or w/e.

Edit: Spelling... My crappy keyboard crapped out on me.

Yea i have come across that and it helped. Thank you for your reply
Is the PC just for configuring the Ir transmitter or do you need it there all the time?
I do have that 3D sync input on my projector but the package i got does not have that cord included which VERY annoying because it was a special version for avatar on PC i got real cheap through work
I've been looking for it but cannot find it.
Do you do know where i could get one?

Thank you once again

My kit had that cable /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' /> Not sure where you could get one.

I think you have run into a brick wall any way. Since what is
said in that link it seems you have to be in 3d mode
(ie looking at a 3d picture in nvidia 3d viewer thing) then
swap inputs. And afaik the only input on that projector
that will support 3d is the vga input(AFAIK). So there wouldn't be
any where to swap inputs to that would support 3d.

If there was someway to keep the IR emitter on (bright green)
you could do it with the projector.

Hopefully someone else knows a way to do it. Good luck.

Mastra90, I'm sorry to tell you again that your projector is not compatible with Xbox 360.
All the packaging and official websites clearly say this projector with 3D vision are only supported on PCs for a good reason.
The Acer X1261 requires 120Hz frame alternating input for 3D which the Xbox 360 is incapable of providing.

Call of Duty Black-ops on Xbox 360 outputs the picture as side by side in a conventional 60Hz frame-compatible image.
No front-projector on the market to date is known to support side by side 3D, only hdmi1.4 3DTVs do (as well as a few professional hardware).

The trick mentionned in the older thread only worked on Samsung and Mitsubishi rear-projection DLP televisions which supported the checkerboard 3D input.
No front-projector on the market to date is known to support checkerboard 3D, at all.
The additional Vesa cable was connected to a special port "3D-sync" at the rear of these RP-TVs. This cable was only included in the USA/Canada 3DVision packaging because the compatible TVs were not sold overseas.
The old 3D games (Invincible Tiger and Avatar) supported checkerboard output to allow this trick, Call of Duty Black-ops does not support it.

If you want to use this projector with your Xbox, you'll need a converter box to change the image format from side by side to 120Hz frame sequential, Optoma sells one but I do not know if it works with Acer projectors, I think it only works with Optoma projectors.
Also the Nvidia glasses will be unusable with this system unless you can connect the Vesa cable to the converter box, the Optoma box has this connector on the box but other brands may not have it, otherwise you'll have to use DLP-link compatible glasses and use the DLP-link mode of the projector.
