Left/Right Shutter software switch? Switching stereo view realtime in Games
Hi All,
I just registered to post this one minor snag Im facing.
Im using stereoscopic capability of Nvidia mostly in pro/semi pro field for 3D visualization.

Well, now the focus is on games, and one peculiar problem is, I cant switch or "invert" the left right views in full screen directX or OpenGl mode for games.
...For viewing pictures etc its possible to switch via software, but for games, Im hoping Nvidia includes a bit of code to do this via hotkeys.

Why?? well for one glasses from E-Dim and X3D dont have this facility builtin for games (for video and picture viewing they do have a software switch).

The reason nvidia should include this software switch is for complete compatibility with affordable 3d projectors such as the DepthQ. (it is the only affordable 3d projector out there that does Flicker-free 3d at 120hz - but it needs to invert the left-right views to stay in sync, hence the need for a software "switch" to display 3d the right way around)

Everyone knows that CRT monitors are being phased out, and the next big thing will be stereo 3d gaming on largescreen projectors.

Hope to see this in the next update soon.

In the short term, just wear them upside down.

For a long term solution, you can hardwire the positive terminals of each LCD to the opposite one. Or even better, att a switch to switch from them both.

This function has been highly requested, as with stereo crosshair fix for playing all fps in stereo, propper shader handling to increase game compatibility to close to 100%, and auto convergeance for max 3d effect all the time.

Unfortunately, these have never been updated, or likely to be in the near future. What happens is that they seem to add some more game "configs" which really dont do anything. Perhaps if they spent half the time they waste on game "configs" on coding these functions, which, apart from propper shader handling, are mostly straight forward, stereo would work like should and start to have have a real base.

Then they could really label games "they way it's meant to be played" :)

We can but dream.
