How do i make games not defualt run 3d stereo mode?
It works fine with most of my games, but there is still all the issues with WoW that makes the game almost impossible to play with the glasses. It doesnt matter what option i change in WoW, the game always starts in 3d Mode and if i alt tab out of the game and come back, 3d mode is renabled.
So is there an option to make all games only load up in 3D mode if i choose so?

If you don't want to use nvidia 3d vison, unclick stereoscopic 3d mode from the control panel, hit apply and there you go!

You only need to push the button on the front of your IR emitter to toggle out of 3d mode.

No, this is NOT true. Your reply is well intentioned, but misleading.
When you push the button on the IR transmitter the 3D *effect* goes away. You see a 2D image and the glasses shut off. This is great for reading the map in Warcraft, and I do it all the time.
HOWEVER, the 3D *mode* doesn't shut off. This is evidenced by the still lower framerate (*1), the horizontal line issue I get in WoW, etc.
To fully turn off 3D *mode*, you need to uncheck the 3D box in the nVidia control panel. This can be accomplished by alt-tabbing out of WoW and adjusting the control panel. What will happen is: your framerate will increase (*1), the display will look crystal clear, and the 3D stereo driver is "disabled".
The button on the IR transmitter is a great "quick fix" to pop the game into a 2D mode for small things, but you are still in 3D driver mode behind the scenes. I've tested this quite a bit and am convinced that if you don't disable the Windows Control Panel driver (the nVidia control panel driver), you won't be truly in 2D mode at all.
Anyone having framerate issues, or the horizontal lines issue that I'm having needs to disable the control panel to get our graphics back how they "should" be in 2D mode. (I also push that little button all of the time when in 3D mode, because I need to check the Warcraft map and then go right back into 3D mode. Great feature, I love it, but it doesn't fully answer the original poster's question.)
--------
(*1 Edit): I did some more testing and want to clarify the frame rate issue. When you push the button on the IR emitter and the display becomes 2D, your frame rate will double. This is expected because you are now drawing only one scene versus two scenes. However, your frame rate *penalty* for being in 3D mode is still there.
Here is what I mean. In Warcraft, open your backpack or your character portrait. (Any 2D element that overlays the screen.) Your frame rate will take a performance hit because you have something open. This is a strange characteristic of 3D mode.
Now, disable your control panel 3D mode. Go back into Warcraft and notice your frame rate. Open your backpack, your character portrait, anything you want. Your frame rate remains rock solid. In fact, opening 2D elements usually IMPROVES your frame rate because there are fewer 3D polygons to draw. 2D elements should SPEED UP your frames, not lower them. This is a strange characteristic of this nVidia vision + World of Warcraft. There is a bug that is reducing frame rate when in 3D mode.
So I wanted to clarify: certainly hitting the IR button gives the appearance of entering 2D and will double your (penalized) frame rate. But you still have the 3D driver running, you still get the frame rate penalty, you still get horizontal lines, and you will definitely still want to disable the 3D control panel driver -- unless you only entered 2D mode to check the map.

Hi nVidia Team!
I can't turn off my 3D StereoMode in World of Warcraft.
If I deactivate and accept it in the World of Warcraft options it changes but if i restart its set ON again.
Same problem if I deactivate the Option directly in the nVidia Control Panel - if I start World of Warcraft it's turned ON again.
I am using the Beta Diver 186.08 with my Geforce GTX 295.
Please help me (sorry if my english aint good :-))

I'm having the same problem as this person. If I uncheck "Enable Stereoscopic 3D" in the nVCP and also disable 3d effects in world of warcraft, inevitably, when I close WoW and open it again, 3d is enabled both in the control panel AND in WoW.
This is pretty much unacceptable, considering I never once told it to enable it. I don't have (and don't plan to have) any 3d vision devices. Never had this problem with previous patches.

Hmm. Didn't know that.

I actually have the opposite problem ...lol
I Want to force the 3D mode on to watch 3Dmovies with a normal flv player over the web but can't get that green light in the emitter to glow... Is it because my emitter is drfective?
How can I force that green light to glow?
thanks

I can't turn off my 3D StereoMode in World of Warcraft.
If I deactivate and accept it in the World of Warcraft options it changes but if i restart its set ON again.
Same problem if I deactivate the Option directly in the nVidia Control Panel - if I start World of Warcraft it's turned ON again.
I am using the Beta Diver 186.08 with my Geforce GTX 295.
Please help me (sorry if my english aint good :-))

Try this? Nvidia control panel -> set-up stereoscopic 3d -> tick box for hide stereoscopic 3d effects when game starts

Anyone have any input on how to fix this?
