Don't see my H5360 in nVidia Control Panel
  1 / 2
Hello, I can't get 3D to work and it used to work just fine. But after a new install of Windows 7, my 3D is not working anymore. When I go the Control Panel of nVidia to do the setup I don't see my projector (Acer H5360). I only see 3D Vision Discover option. I've installed the latest drivers from nVidia but it still does not see my projector. My pc: Core i7 2600K Asus P8P67 EVO 8GB GeiL memory Samsung 840 pro SSD 120GB Buffalo extern harddrive 1TB usb 3.0 + some more harddrives

Is there a drop down menu available in the 3D Vision Discover box that allows you to change it? Do you have 2 Displays connected? The H5360 would need to be set as your main display.

There's no drop down menu and I also tried it as my projector as main display. But still I have only one option and that is the 3D Vision Discover. Once I've tried this (but this time no luck, so still no 3D): Here's a guide for using the 3D Vision hack with Nvidia GPU's on 120HZ Active monitors. 1.) Download and install the latest Nvidia drivers. 2.) You need to disable Windows from fetching drivers from windows update else it will download drivers you don't want and won't work (System > Advanced System Settings > Hardware > Device Installation Settings > Never install driver software from Windows Update) 3.) Download http://kostasoft.com/downloads/3Dvision.zip and install DSF-KitSetup make the .bat of init_x64 a .txt (Or open in notepad) and remove this line /i /s from it, do remember to make it a .bat afterwards. 4.) Run the init_x64.bat file 5.) run the enablestereo.bat ; You'll notice it tries to install a driver and fails so you then download nvidia drivers version 285.62, extract them to desktop and cancel the installation. 6.) Go into device manager and find NVIDIA stereoscopic 3d usb controller, right click and update driver software > browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer > Have Disk... > Browse to "C:\nvidia\DisplayDriver\285.62\WinVista_Win7_ 64\E nglish\NV3DVisionUSB.Driver" (alter as appropiate if you selected to extract the driver files somewhere else). Let it install those drivers which it should do successfully. 7.) Download this inf download/file.php?id=122 and install it in a similar fashion to the Nvidia 3D Vision USB Driver 8.) Restart your PC 9.) Run enablestereo.bat 10.) Go into Nvidia Control panel, you should see your monitor is 3D Vision enabled, to see the 3D effects you'll need to run your monitor in "Frame Sequential"

Well, this happens because the system does not believe you have an H5360 installed. What was your thinking behind doing the 3D Vision hack you describe there? The H5360 is supported directly by the OS and NVidia, there is no need for the extra stuff. (I use an H5360) It has to be recognized as Acer H5360 though in the Change Resolution section. If that's not working, then stereoscopic won't think you have a 3D caliber display available, and only allow Discover.

Obviously the OP has a non certified display and also does not have an Nvidia emitter. lol@complaining.on.Nvidia's.official.forum.that.the.hack.you.are.using.no.longer.works.

maybe try another higher quality cable and / or reinstalling older drivers may help. I had an H5360 and it can be picky with low quality VGA cables.

Thanks everybody for the response, but like I said, the first time I used my 3D it worked like a charm. Then I installed Windows 7 again and then the trouble started, that's why in my desperation I tried all those steps and guess what, it helped!! But now I have a complete new setup (new motherboard, cpu, memory and ssd) and ofcourse a new install of Windows 7. Again I have the same problems! Tried all those steps again but no luck. I've invested quite some money in this so I would really like it to use it again. What else can I do?

Maybe because the problem lies here with nVidia? As you can imagine I'm not l.o.l.

If you have the Nvidia 3D Vision emitter and an Acer H5360, it's basically "plug and play". No hack needed. Do a fresh install of the drivers and delete the display driver profile, reboot, good to go. The only reason that a person would be messing with those old drivers and workarounds, is because they do not want to buy an emitter. In later drivers, Nvidia made it impossible to use the emitter emulator. Hence, you're problem atm.

I found your old post...
In my case the videocard is connected to a HDMI splitter because I want to switch my computer and tv to the projector whenever I want. So for the 3D I don't use DVI. Again it used to work just great before the new install of Windwos 7 and I was very proud of my setup here. Beautiful 3D on a huge screen (2 mtr 20 by 2 mtr. 00). But now I just can not figure out what the hell happened :-( I just got a message of a new driver from nVidia, I am going to install this and see what will happen. Nothing changed unfortunately :-(
The HDMI splitter you are using should pass the Display EDID data, it obviously is not. Use monitor asset manager with the projector connected directly to the projector and find the appropriate EDID listing. Select the option to create an .inf file, rename it to H5360 and save it to your desktop. Now reconnect the HDMI switch and perform an EDID override. http://panam.acer.com/acerpanam/monitor/0000/Acer/AC501/AC501faq10.shtml This should replace whatever your GPU is seeing as a Display and make it see the H5360. But this will not work, if you do not have a Nvidia emitter to activate 3D Vision.

You obviously do not have a Nvidia 3D Vision certified projector or it would simply work. Or, you simply do not have a 3D Vision emitter to activate stereoscopic gameplay.

If you have both, there is no reason that you can not get it working with newer drivers, unless you have an old 6 or 7 series GPU. So have you comfirmed it's operational without the HDMI splitter in the chain? Windows 7 is different than Vista in the way it detects Displays, was the W7 install a result of an upgrade from Vista?
