How about dynamic 3d laser sight I don't know if its possible
While playing First Person Shooting games in 3d (I use 3d vision Discover), the game provided cross-hair doesn't work (It is in the screen depth, and if you hit a target using it, it don't hit at the required point). So, nvidia has provided 3d laser cross-hair, that at some meters depth away from the gun. Its accurate to use it to shoot target. But, when aiming at walls that are too close, the laser-cross-hair, still lies at the same depth and appears as if the wall is transparent. At such case its very difficult to aim.
From this story what I am going to ask, is
Can't we make the cross-hairs depth dynamic, just like a laser point,. Or at the least, can't its depth me manually controlled?

The Nvidia laser sight[sup]®[/sup] is dynamic in some range, you can see it without glasses (that there are two circles that are moving).
However this will never be perfect, correct aiming tool has to be developed directly by game developers.

Good example is RE5 where laser sight is perfect (even with laser :-)

So you must write to company that created game you have license for and ask nicely if they could patch the game to be more compatible with nvidia 3d.

Thanks for the reply. But I don't think the nvidia laser sight's depth is any dynamic. The circles, only slightly increase and decrease in size. just that and nothing more. While aiming at very far or very near target, its quite unnatural to use them.

Did you try multiple games? If it is not dynamic, then something is wrong. It works fine for me and allows precise long and short distance headshots in Fallout 3. If you take the glasses off, you should see the two laser sight targets change separation as you look at objects at different depth. It only breaks down if an object is very close, say a foot or two away.

Just to confirm also btw, it is indeed dynamic. It changes to based on the depth underneath the crosshair and is v.useful in ALOT of games.
