The Witcher 2 in 3D Vision Official thread from NVIDIA

Why can't I edit my posts in here? I made some stupid typos and I'd like to correct them... :(

You misunderstand. My disappointment is mostly with regards to cd projeckt not nvidia, though in casses like Dragon Age 2 (which still doesn't work in 2d), my disappointing is with nvidia, and rightfully so. Though I am disappointed that nvidia clearly didn't even test the game before stamping it with the 3d vision logo, which does give them some resposibility for this mess, as they did mislead (and essentially lie to) consumers.
How, exactly, is DA 2 broken in 2D on nVidia cards? I never noticed that...
And "to lie" always implies an intention of a person not to tell or to withhold the truth. Even if I could see a reason to blame nVidia in this case, at most they screwed up, but they most certainly never lied to anyone. They certainly didn't intend this game to perform as bad as it does, did they?
Also, lets not water down terms. Because that'll just hurt all the people who are really lied to and excuse all people who love to lie into someone's face.

Just adding my point of view in here for the 3D ready thing.
Note only the word rendered. All these items are rendered beautifully and perfectly in this game IMO. It doesn't say anything about how well it should run........
In any other case I would agree, but here we have a bug and not a slowdown due to incompatible hardware. It's not a type of problem - "your GPU is not powerful enough to run the game in stereo 3d". It's either good looking shadows or a game-breaking slowdown. How is it that both iz3d and 3dvision (with process stopped) run the game at a great framerate, albeit the broken shadows, but when shadows are rendered correctly the framerate turns to a halt? Regardless of whose fault this is I think that for a company, which has a brand signifying the quality of a product, such as 3d-readiness in this case, Nvidia should have come clean on the issues plaguing the game. And let's face it, this is not a CDP screw up, they didn't make a game specifically for s-3d, this a Nvidia quality check screw up. If the W2 had a native s-3d solution, such as Avatar:the game and it didn't work, then I understand why Ubisoft (game developer) would be the one to blame. Regardless of CDP's promise for naive s-3d, they didn't deliver, so the ball was in Nvidia's court and they didn't stop to check if CDP had inflated it to the max. Now nobody can enjoy the game, since the players are trying to score with an under-inflated ball. This is why this thread has so many pages and people can't enjoy the game. I am hopeful that the patch will fix stuff, but if it doesn't I will be playing with low depth and broken shadows, but at least I won't be watching a slideshow.

Sorry, I can't follow your argument at all. It just doesn't make any sense to me.
How is nVidia responsible for fixing CDPR's code?!
I'm not saying Nvidia is responsible for fixing it, but Nvidia should have done more to prevent the game from coming out like this. Offering a 3d driver is one thing, but stamping a seal of quality and allowing the game to come out like this.... I wouldn't be blaming iz3d if a game had problems with their driver at launch since they don't have a 3d-ready stamp. Nvidia on the other hand has worked with the developer, but hasn't done enough quality check to make sure that the game works as intended at launch. In the end is there any proof that the problem is with CDP's code. I guess the upcoming patch will be the answer.Comparing a Nvidia and a Windows stamp is simply absurd and even in this case you are wrong, I remember MS releasing patches for Vista for XP only games which weren't working.

Usually because they broke some development guideline.
And MS didn't do that because they were obliged to, but to sell more copies of the new version of Windows by avoiding people to state that the games wouldn't run on their new version.
If nV could actually work around this bug located in CDPR's code by some glew code in their driver (remember, the cause of the slowdown has already been described in this very thread by Andrew) they probably would have done that long ago, with the same fix that made the game playable while the 3DVision driver is installed.
@Artox: Did you actually read my previous postings? nVidia CANNOT take over the QA for CDPR. They can NOT make sure, that the code delivered as the final product is working flawlessly. No game producer would allow that to happen. That's something Steam or MS (for the XBox) can do, because they have total control over their platform and can deny anthing being put there, but a Gfx card vendor that just wants to put a logo on the box, just doesn't have the standing to do that.

dude... seriously... stop your fanboyism

Well, someone not bashing around mindlessly is always called a fanboy. I'm used to that. Problem is, that I'm not a fanboy. Why should I be? Of what? A company who's out there to earn money?
The fact is, you're complaining that there's noone from nVidia telling you what's going on. On the other hand you're constantly bickering and bashing everyone who poking his head in here.
I know what I'd do: Never come back here.
Since I WANT to have some people from nVidia to keep us updated, I'm pissed at people like you. And that's why I try to put some reason into people's minds. That's all.

Well, I don't really know, but someone whose only contribution to a thread is a costant flow of replies targated at whoever dares to speak against your beloved developer IS generally called a fanboy. Also, the fact that you scan every topic that seems to bash CDPR for their blatant mistake just to correct people (the other thread about The Witcher 2 where you didn't even try to give some useful info, and you just intervened to flame) speaks more about you than anything else could.
You're probably one of those who bought the game on the first day, and instead of feeling extremely unsatisfied with your product, decided to go on a rampage to somehow vent your frustration. As usual, fanboys don't want the best for themselves, but only want others to shut up and stop talking trash about their favorite team.
You've already made a fool of yourself by replying thousands of times to whoever says anything even slightly against CDPR.Every moment you just look more and more like one of those desperate PR slaves that stalk forums in order to bash all unfavourable opinions directed at their firm's products.
If you are SO happy about what you bought, I don't really understand how you found this thread and keep posting in it. Masochism? Frustration?
"A month has passed and there's no trace of a patch" says someone. I can literally see your frustrated ego inflate, and there you go, trying to justify your wrong purchase in your eyes. "no, I didn't waste my money, everything is going to get better, I know it. Anyone who says the contrary is obviously mistaken. Better start a crusade".
As you said in the other thread, I sincerely pity you and your world of delusion.
If, as you said, you will leave the thread (which, from the BEGINNING, was against CDPR wrongdoings), I'm sure noone will really notice. Please go on, live long and prosper somewhere else.

What you're writing is complete bullcrap, since I said many times that CDPR is to be blamed. You just can't read, that's all. On you, every argument is just wasted.

The fact that many people has a precise opinion, and only you and Zloth are tirelessly defending it should ring a bell, but I see there's no escape from fanboyland.
As I previously stated, enjoy your delusions. Please take your flames elsewhere.

Why?They made some compatibility adaptations in their NEW versions of Windows because the games written for OLDER versions of Windows didn't work correctly on the new versions.

As I previously stated, enjoy your delusions. Please take your flames elsewhere.

So you mean just because 'everyone' but me and Zloth have the same opinion, it must be the right one?
