For questions like this, it's best to try it to see. We aren't always going to get it 100% right, and some things we think are problems may not be.
So, give it a try and see. If you then run into problems getting the fix to work, then it would be time to back up and do everything just as written.
Another approach is to do things just as written, then once you have it known working, try adding in just that one piece that you need.
Please don't hesitate to experiment and let us know what you find out.

Technically it should work. While I personally don't use it I read on EA forums that on some setups it might make the graphics driver less stable. However in the tests that I made, I didn't find anything related to the Audio driver.
But Geforce Experience is definitely A MUST NOT INSTALL or else you will get DX errors constantly... (It seems that GFE hooks directly in the driver and makes it less stable).

Hey guys!
I was gonna try the V5 fix later today but curiosity got the better of me and i installed it this morning. Yet when i try to boot up the game i keep getting a system error: "The program cant start because D3DCOMPILER_46.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
Even though i am staring at the file in the folder in front of me. just copied everything from the download into my game folder where the exe file is. I was running V3 fix just fine when you folks released it the other day, now this? I did however delete the fix and go back to multiple monitor 2D gameplay for the last few days... I am at a loss. Any help would be appreciated, i tried to install both V4 & 5, will try V3 and report back.

That's interesting - the game ships with that DLL which is why we don't put it in our release, but perhaps I need to put it back in afterall...

Hi
I noticed when I was looking at SoM that the uninstaller for the debug version of 3Dmigoto removes that D3DCOMPILER_46.dll file when you uninstall it.
Steam will get it back again if you verify cache; it just takes a while.

Weird cause i have been playing the game in 3K 2D for the last 3 days before i installed V5 this morning, i found the (all caps) file: D3DCOMPILER_46.dll in the folder i received after unzipping V3 from last week, only V3 had that file, V4 & V5 only had this: D3DCompiler_46_org.dll
So for my game i have to have both files... Just glad its working, i wish i knew if the game had that file before 12/20... Anyway runs and looks great now!
