Best drivers for a 7900GTX?
Hi,

I've had the stereo working on this card before (blue red glasses) a long time ago, and I'd like to set it up again. Only this time, I want to have it so that one image is displayed on one monitor, and the other image on the other monitor. I guess it's like a mirror setup, only I'll be crossing my eyes to get 3D. I had previously tried and tried to find an option for dual monitor 3D, but I could not find it anywhere (I thought that it must just not be possible) and played with red-blue glasses for a while.

Now I want to get back into the amazing world of 3D, so what are the best drivers for my card (a 7900GTX) that SUPPORTS the mirror setup?

Thank you very much in advance.

You need winxp and the 91.31 drivercombo. 93.81 is also very good while 162.50 stereo works with a number of forcewares (latest seems to be with 169.21 for me with dual vga output).
162.50 works better than 91.31/93.81 using a dual/quadcore machine but if you get into trouble with 91/93 drivers you can use nhancer to force usage of one single cpucore.
The 162.50 stereodriver can be tricky with some monitors (no other options than anaglyph is shown) and in this case you need to do a "pinmod" of the vga. It's the monitor edid that needs to be blocked (i figure this is what happened to you since all options but anaglyph is missing).

If you're not persistant using nvidiadrivers you can also give the iz3d drivers a go. They works on almost every hardwares and do support stereomirror setups. remember to disable the driver you aren't using for the moment.

I've installed the 91.31 card drivers, and the 91.31 stereo drivers. There are quite a few modes to choose from, and 'Dual VGA Output (Dep3D)' sounds just what I need, but when I launch the test app my second monitor still displays the desktop, while the first shows the render. What could be up? I've tried anaglyph, which works. I'm going to try the other drivers, and see if that changes anything.

It might be the nview setting.

For the nvidiastereodrivers you need to have it in "clone" mode. Even when using stereomirror or dual vga.
If you use the Iz3d-driver you need to set it at dualview.
