3DTV Play question (Geforce260 with a Panasonic TC-P50VT20)
Hey everyone,
- I have a PC with 2x Geforce260 in SLI and a Panasonic TC-P50VT20 3DTV (Both on the list as compatible with beta drivers).
- I am currently using a DVI to HDMI 1.3 cable to hook up to my tv (i haven't seen any DVI to HDMI 1.4 cables for sale).
- I do not actually own a 3D Vision kit (as i have a 3D TV).
I've tried out the latest Nvidia beta drivers and i can see the "application test" in 3D with no problems (looks great!), but when i try any games (ex: Resident Evil 5) or 3D content from Nvidia's site, I get no 3D at all (doesn't work).
What am I missing?
- Do I need a HDMI-out video card? 400 series? so I can output to HDMI 1.4?
or
- Do I need a HDMI to DVI adapter (along with a HDMI 1.4 cable)? I noticed that none of the converters say which HDMI version they are.
or
- Do I need to buy 3D Vision? (even though i have a 3D TV)?
Appreciate any advice! :) Seeing as anyone at any retail store has no idea what I am talking about. I've tried searching everywhere on the net.

With the setup you have, you would need the 3d vision kit. Or you can wait for the 3dtv Play software that isn't available as of yet. I've been waiting for this for months. Still no sign or word of it. It was supposedly coming out last month, but it never released. Nvidia peeps won't give a date, so everyone is just waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting.

yeah, a beta for people with vision kits already.... so people who are already using 3d gmaes ect on their PCS.
The people who didnt invest in the vision kit because they are waiting for 3DTV play, get NOTHING.
just more waiting :(
who knows it will even come out this year. Tridef is another solution i'm thinking about buying it instead.

Iz3d is a tad better imo but every developer who supports 3d deserves their share so i've got both! :P
And no, no 3d-vision for me either. I run a dual pj setup.
