3D won't start Need help
Hi there.

I've looked trough the 3D Vision faq, without finding my question.

So, this is how it is:

I have enabled stereoscopic 3D inside the NVIDIA Control Panel - I've ran the 3d stereoscopic test and everything is just perfect.
I've got 120 Hertz - 1920 by 1080 pixels and antialiasing is off.
The test application, as I said, is just perfect.
The on/off botton on the IR Emitter works perfect aswell.

This is where I get in trouble.

I cannot do anything from here and on. - When I go into a game and push the on/off botton on the IR Emitter nothing happends.

Even if I go direct from the 3d stereoscopic test and into a game it won't work.

So basic: I can't seem to activate 3D at all, unless I'm in the stereoscopic 3d application test and the setup-drive test.

It the IR Emitter simply won't "get greener", unless it's in the 2 programs above.

Can anyone please help me?

Thank you very much for you help.

Cheers

Maybe you have defective hardware that can't handle a full game in 3D Mode. You could always consider that possibility.

And then again, 3D is often just a gimmick. You can live without it for awhile. So until someone finds a solution to the problem and figures out the cause of the problem, just play al of your games in 2D Mode.

I'm almost certain that my hardware ain't defective. It's less then 14 days old - and alienware.

Btw, I'm running 590 GTX - driver 275.33 , Intel Core i7.

Any other information needed, please say so.

I don't buy your arguement - it won't run 3d in browser mode.. or how to say..

I cannot watch 3D pictures nor 3D movies.

Probably the worst bit of advice I've ever seen posted on a 3D forum. If you think it's a gimmick then why are you looking on the forums?
Back to the OPs problem. Have you tried pressing Ctrl+T whilst in game to enable 3D? It could be that it's set to "hide stereoscopic 3d" in the nvidia control panel.

What game is this? Older games (from before DirectX 9, or was it 8?) will not work with 3D Vision at all. OpenGL games will not work unless you've got a hyper-expensive Quadro card.

Edit: As another test, you might try out the Endless City demo.

There is a difference between "defective" and "worn out".
Maybe it got damaged during shipping, or maybe they made an error when producing the videocard.

I only said that because I figured if he can't use 3D, it isn't really that much a loss. He just has to play it in 2D until someone figures out how to fix it.
