Disabling Resolutions
I have an issue with 3DTV Play and some games... With my current setup for 3D, I have a DLP Projector that is capable of 120hz, but for 3D it needs to run at 1280x720 @60hz *NOT* 120hz (no exceptions) If @ 120hz, 3D is disabled. For most games, this is not a problem.. however for a few, it becomes an annoyance, and for even fewer it makes it impossible to play. The problem lies within my current example - "Sleeping Dogs". In this game, you cannot choose your refresh rate, you can only choose from a predetermined number of resolutions. For some reason it doesn't allow you to choose from all their available refresh rates, it only picks the maximum supported refresh rate. So my basic question is: How do I permanently remove 120hz as a resolution option on the driver level? I currently never need to use 120hz on my projector.

The better question is how do you get it to enable, so that you can play at 120Hz. If you are connecting via HDMI, perhaps switching to VGA would keep 3D enabled at 120Hz. What projector are you using? What stereoscopic format are you playing in? You can not permanently remove a refresh rate very easily, it's stored in the eeprom of the display and may not be rewriteable. You can try an EDID override. In most cases it would work. But if not, you need an EDID emulator. Have you tried 1024x768@120Hz, it's most likely the stereoscopic 120Hz setting supported by your projector.

Actually the problem is that I need to run at 60hz for games to run in 3D. I'm using 3DTV Play, not 3D Vision. I really don't understand why this is, but that's how 3DTV does it's thing. So my problem is that Sleeping Dogs only has a preset of resolutions, defaulted at their maximum refresh rate available, regardless what I have set in Control Panel, or what I choose in the Sleeping Dogs .ini. I need to run in 60hz. If I run 1280x720 @ 120hz, the 3D Vision overlay pops up saying "3D not supported in 1280x720 @ 120hz, try 1280x720 @60hz or 1920x1080 @120hz." As for the VGA option, I guess I'm not understanding here. I thought HDMI or DVI was required for 3DTV Play, and that VGA was for lower resolutions only? From what I understand, 3DTV Play does not support 120hz timing.

You still did not mention your display model. There are no projectors (other than some $15,000 and up) that support 1920x1080P@120Hz, so I've no idea why you'd be getting a pop-up stating to switch to that resolution, unless you are using an override from a monitor or something. 3DTV Play will support 1920x1080P@24Hz. You're right, 3DTV Play only works over HDMI. I simply overlooked it in your post. As far as VGA, there are a few 3D Vision projectors that work at 1280x720P@120Hz using it. The only time VGA will not support high resolutions (if the hardware is capable) is when you are playing a newly released movie that is flagged with tags supporting Analog Sunset.

Sorry, I meant 1920x1080 @24hz in the pop-up message, my mistake. Also I have an Optoma GT750E DLP projector. I have no issues with *most* games, because you can usually select your refresh rate -or- they default to your desktop refresh rate. In this case, Sleeping Dogs doesn't, other games also have similar problems.
