GTA V 3D Vision Support

Its better then Metro Last Light which is a serious/atmospheric game that forces a lap dance on you. ----------------- Its probably true but I won't hold my breath. In a world where nvidia calls Compatibility mode official support [Watch Dogs], I tend to be a pessimist. I guess someone at Rockstar who has weight must be pushing for if its true. Cause its certainly not nvidia.

Yah, I haven't played Last light yet, but that GTA V gameplay video made me blush. I think your right. Because if Nvidia was behind it, they would have mentioned it in their article last week. http://nvisionapp.com/grand-theft-auto-v-pc-five-reasons-youll-want-play/ And then in this weeks article, it's just a rehash of what Rockstar posted. You'd think it would be prominately displayed if they were behind it. http://nvisionapp.com/grand-theft-auto-v-official-pc-requirements-revealed/

Congratulations Rock-star you have "tentatively" secured a new customer. I have played the gta games on console before but I never found them that compelling honestly. BUt I will support any developer that supports 3dvision correctly.

It's the most logical explanation (assuming support is actually real 3D). It's from a period when Nvidia actually supported 3D Vision.

Yeah, but I believe the way they go about generating the 3D image is completely different. If you take a game with Oculus support and try to run it in 3D Vision, it doesn't look any better than the average broken game.

If your display supports SBS you may be able to turn 3D Vision off and may be able to enable OR and, like Eqzitara had mentioned before in the Among the Sleep discussion, you may be able to find and disable the fisheye/distortion Shader ... I never wound up finding it in Among the Sleep but that doesn't mean it's not possible. I never bothered with hooking up to my Mitsubishi 3D Adapter to see if SBS worked but it did the last time I tried it with a SBS video, so I presume it still would.

This is necessary as the screen is some distance away from the viewer and other methods of producing a stereo effect would look wrong. As I understand it, on the rift the stereo effect is achieved pre-projection, by shifting the camera left and right in view-space (i.e. in the world) instead. It still uses an off-center projection matrix, but it is not to add a stereo effect, rather it is to compensate for the misalignment between the eyes and the center of the rift's screen. What I don't know is what nvidia plan to do with their automatic stereo conversion for the rift.

I'm pretty certain this won't be CM mode. CM mode doesn't work in surround right? and they specifically mention three monitor setups.

They said it can run 1080p 60hz meaning it wont be locked at 30 fps. That don't meant it will run easily at 60 fps even on recommanded system. Or will it?
