Ack, that's not going to do. I only have around 50 fps normally, and get a 50% hit now. Can't accept more than that. The new drivers are optimized decent, but the loading screens and maps need deactivating in 3D mode. Either that or bring the separation closer together. Looks like they have more work to do with WoW. Most other games seem good. RealFlight G4.5 is lots of fun in 3D mode, and Dream Pinball works great too. Thanks for the info.

I am having a lot of these same problems. Interestingly I was only have problems with ghosting at the top of the screen. I reinstalled vista from scratch and now am having problems with ghosting across the entire screen. There is definitely a timing issue somewhere.
I've also found that WoW likes to re-enable the 3d vision even if I turn it off. In order to get 3d vision completely disabled I have to disable it in the control panel, launch wow, disable it in WoW, then alt-tab out and disable it in the control panel again. (if I close wow and reopen it..WoW will have re-enabled 3D Vision). Its very irritating.
I also have the issue of the cooldown timers being offset by quite a bit in the default UI. Also, I have noticed that 2D windows in the interface drastically reduce the framerate. I can gain 10fps by closing a gui window. The larger the window, the higher the change in the fps. Not sure if this is due to font rendering or just 2D images in general.

I have the same problem. I can run WOW normal and depending on the area hit extremly high frame rates, yet as soon as I enable s-3d. My performance isn't halved it's pretty much gone. Going from 90 frames to 12. I could live with half, but this is 80% degradation.

As another poster noted, and I suspect, it's probably got a lot to do with what mods you use. Some users are heavily modded and the more mods you use, the lower the fps in 3D, Not really a lot nVidia can do with all the mods out there it's tough to counteract those. Although it would be nice to have everything in 3D, I would much rather have no 3D with maps and loading screens, than screwed up ones. What mods do you have installed anyway? Maybe if we listed the mods we use it would be easier to figure out the ones that most effect the frame rate. I suspect there maybe one particular mod that is the most offending. Although I use several, I have parts of them disabled as I dont' need those functions.

Well I can get around the FPS drop but the DAM flickering. I've tried 2 differnt NV cards, tried Vista 32/64 and Windows 7 (I test alot) and ever 3d/graphics driver and the flickering is the same. Seems worse since last patch.
EDIT: I rushed to the gun to fast. Need to THINK before I type.

Well, not sure what flickering you mean, I have none. You didn't mention anything about your monitor, might be that. My only problem is the double vision maps and random 2D objects. If I reduce the convergence enough to bring the map into view, all 3D effect is gone from the game. Once they get that problem fixed, I'm good.
Good luck with the flickering problem.

Just curious, what kind of video card are you using? Which series / make? I was pretty much in your situation until I upgraded to a new video card. Since then I have had such a hard time playing that unless I am troubleshooting I disable 3d. My flickering has gotten to the point where the 3d glasses will lock in the "open" position. The only way to get it back is to disable 3d by pressing the green button on the transmitter and then turn it on again. Reducing some of the detail in game and dropping the refresh rate seems to help but it still gets pretty bad at times.

Ok in taking out my 280 and putting in gtx8800 my bios reset. So I tried the #3 drivers and lol Nvidia I am sorry. For the 1st time no flickering at all in WOW.. NOTHING. But sticking my 280 back in man flickers really bad. Running around in WOW.. the whole thing turns off. I have to ctrl+t again. Yet the 8800 man NOTHING.. I've just been running EVERYWHERE lol in the city everything cranked not ONE flick. Oh and my FPS.. get this its 23 +.. ??? why is it higher with the 8800 and NOT my 280?
Its Asus ENGTX280. And I was just about to give up. But still I should not have to revert backwards. Does anyone using a 280 NOT have flicking in games?
Andrew.. do the 280 maybe have this problem? Flicking?

I also have a 280 and notice minor flickinger, although in dragonsblight and a few others it's too bad to play with. But other areas like in instances etc there's none. (wonder if it's a 280 glitch with the framerate and flickering)

I'm using the EVGA GTX 260. which should be the same as your 280 but slower. Maybe it's a bios problem with the card, have you tried updating the firmware on the card? I've never like Asus versions of nVidia cards it always seems like they cripple it in one way or the other. I've always been partial to eVGA, they make good cards for the money. At this point however, I dont' see the advantage to paying the extra bucks for the 200 series cards, unless you go for the big one. It may pay off in the future, but for WoW I guess it's a waste.

Good luck with the flickering problem.
