Sony Personal 3D Viewer HMZ-t1
Hi all, Could someone help me and tell if I can see a 3D content on my laptop? Or do I need a new card or something else (game console)? I would like to see some movies and download some simple 3D games. If someone could suggest one-two games to start could be nice. After searching for quite long on forums and on the internet I should be able to see the 3D on the viewer connected to the laptop, but samples I find are or two images aside or two images up and down or with different colors around. I wonder what the "real 3D" finally is? :) So I dont even know how to check it. I have AMD Radeon HD 6370M card and a Laptop ASUS with Windows 7 Intel(R) Core (TM) i5 CPU M460 2.53GHz (4CPUs), ~2.5GHz Thank you very much in advance for any advice! Jako

Yes, you can see 3d content on you laptot. After you open an image, and see 2 side by side pictures, go to hmz-t1 settings -->3d -> under 3d display you can choose side by side or top bottom 3d formats. So if you see 2 images sideways, choose side by side and so on. Pics where you see different colors around, you cannot watch.

Also, those displayed pictures will need to be full screen for the HMZ to show properly.

Hi sammy123 and bo3b and thank you very much for your ideas! Yes I do have already tried adapting the display. When I do it the image is completely messy and I can seen in each little screen those 2 images so in final i see 4 with 2 eyes:) But I do not remember if it was in full screen... Now my hmz-t1 is in hands of an informatician and I am waiting what will he say. At first sight without knowing the technology he told me my laptop do not need a special graphic card. But here I have found two links saying that to display a 3D content on a PC / laptop I will need the : NVIDIA 3DTV Play Support ( Le casque HMZ-T1 désormais compatible Nvidia 3D TV Play | HD-Motion http://bit.ly/LgkhOD ) I will check for the full screen soon and if you have a comment it is also very welcome :)

Well, you won't be able to use NVidia software with a Radeon video card. To do this with your Radeon card, I'm pretty sure you'll need the Tridef software which is sort of AMD's answer to 3D. (But, I've only used Nvidia, so I'm no expert)

With Tridef software, you can watch videos, pictures and play games. It works well with hmz-t1. But, you definitely should be able to watch side by side pictures and movies using you hmd. I have one and ive watched so many youtube 3d videos and pictures with it, without external 3d software. Some videos are not watchable because left-right sync is wrong, and you cannot change that within hmz. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSCnhO9L7uw Thats some sony 3d demo, which should work with you hmz. I tried it using nvidia, amd and intel gpus. Put video quality on 1080p and select full screen, lastly put your hmz to side by side mode.

No, you can watch that above video without tridef or any 3d software. Basically you can watch any 3d content thats side by side or top/bottom format. Did you put that video on full screen and selected side by side on you hmz? Did you see double image again, or just one? Its working fine on my hmz, without any 3d software. Hi all, I can confirm without the tridef or any other 3d software I was watching the 3D videos on the personal sony viewer the hmz-t1. The window with the content must be full screen indeed. With the Catalyst Controller for Windows it is easier to setup the extended display - screen of the laptop and the Sony viewer. 3D is amazing! I have lost half of my life without! Now I will try to add a trackIR clip Pro to have a VR experience For the 3D program with the VR I will still need the graphic card Nvidia for one simple 3D environment without interaction aside picking and replacing some objects and Nividia GTX660 Ti for at least for more advanced 3D VR environment (a software but not really a game). Here is the link to the SONY | eSupport - Unable to view 3D content. http://bit.ly/1aHJsTK -> very basic and I thank you people here for quick and very helpful presence and messages.
