Dude, why? The main thread was good enough to keep track (and an eventual Helix blog post to accompany it), no need to spam with another thread where you are currently putting the horse ahead of the carriage. Edit for context (before I'm villified by new readers): when I had made this post, and the immediate following, the OP was not formulated as it is now (just a placeholder) and Losti said a new version was "coming soon" (hence, no actual change at the time) so it seemed more unnecessary than in its current/edited state, and I don't think I was too much in the wrong to question it's purpose. Then things slightly spiraled downwards from there, as you will see.

Because
Dude, why? YES if there will be a helix post it can be found easier. "no need to spam with another thread where you are currently putting the horse ahead of the carriage" sorry i cant translate this in german, seems to be a proverb? Heli also opened a new thread for his fix as it was near finished. I think there is no reason to be upset. Its just for new users to find the fix. I do not have access to Helix-Blog currently.

I also think it's ridiculous when Helifax does it, especially with adding all kinds of hyperbole as he does so. In this case I would implore you don't follow his example, but you're a grown man so do as you please.

In this case I would implore you don't follow his example, but you're a grown man so do as you please.
I am sorry if that seems "ridiculous" to you, but the reasons are simple: - 99% of the time I am not the person who opened the "existing" thread and I cannot edit the OP Page. - I like to keep the fix and instructions on the OP page, so everyone can find it on the first page, instead of digging through numerous pages of an "old" thread. The only way to do this is to make a new thread where the fix is linked and display on the main page. I believe Losti had the same thing in mind. I am not sure if he was the original OP of the other thread. If giving credits and showing the fix in action is "hyperbole" to you, I apologise. But rest assure, I will not spam this forum anymore:)

Come on guys... what is going on here... I think it is good to open this thread here, since it was indeed a bit difficult to find the fix in the other thread. This being sad, @Losti, did you change something today in the fix? So it is actually better to download the new one? :) Really great fix man. I enjoy the game a lot. It looks fantastic, although there are some bugs here and there...
...
Look man. I'm a brutally honest person (which some people actually say can be one of my best qualities (and sometimes my worst)) with a fairly low tolerance for what I consider as annoying or bad behaviour. I won't go out of my way to maliciously attack someone for it, but I will call them out on it if I feel the situation calls for it, or something presses the subject. I've done it to DHR, I've done it to Flugan, and I've even done it to you in the past, so no surprise there. I've also held my tongue way more often than I've let the beast loose (believe me... especially recently) because I looked at my motivation for wanting to say something and deemed it wasn't necessary or appropriate. So, in this case, it wasn't my intention to drag you into this, but funny thing is when I saw the post I actually thought you had created it (lol) based on your history of doing so, and then Losti name dropped you (pressed the subject) and I had to mention that I didn't agree with times that you've done so either, for reasons which I could expand upon if you so desire, but I'll choose not to do so at present (again, unless pressed to do so) because I don't necessarily feel it will be constructive and it's not my intention to directly attack you. I'll admit that me mentioning the hyperbole part was probably a bit excessive (regardless if I feel is true or not), so I'll actually apologize for that part. I'll also apologize to Losti, as taking a step back I can realize how exciting it is to be part of a major game fix, and can't blame him for being proud of the achievement and wanting to enjoy being in the spotlight for a bit. You've earned it! Also, Losti, you keep giving credit to DHR as being the creator of the CryEngine fix, but DarkStarSword was the one who originally discovered the correct patterns with his Lichdom fix, then DHR (and myself) essentially utilized those same patterns in various CryEngine games after, just the same as you've derived the fixes you've implemented here from DHR's GhostWarrior fix (so, a derivative of a derivative). Normally I wouldn't say much (since, like DHR himself had recently mentioned, most of this all goes back to Helix and his discovering the Nvidia stereo formula and implementing it with Helixmod, which is the basis on nearly ever fix, so if we're giving credit then that's ultimately where most of it goes), but I think CryEngine is just such a nuanced engine that I seriously doubt that anyone else would have been able to crack the code other than him (at least, not anyone else that is within our community), so the credit should go where it is rightfully owned and respectfully deserved in this case.

Great fix! THX to all who were involved into it. I don't know who did the biggest part, but I think it was only possible because many worked together creating this fix and/or by fixing/programming stuff in the past. IMO it would be better if the communication between you guys was less "toxic". You all are doing a great job. All of you earn more respect and money than you get. But there are not many 3d users left today, so you won't get rich or get many thanks from the community.
sometimes it feels a little bit like a "dick-measuring contest" but THIS should not be!!!
That's EXACTLY the sentiment that I have too which caused my reaction to this post (and partially the reason I withdrew from active participation around here for a while). So when I see people creating whole new threads (while the original thread is still there on the first page of the forum), to me it screams "Look at meeeee!!! I'm so cool and special and great and my fix is 2 million trillion percent 3D ready and bestest game evarrr (until the next one I fix, of course). Yipeeeee!" and I'm one to prefer a little more humility than such displays. So, again, sorry for having such a knee jerk reaction to you specifically, just wanted to try to curb the behaviour before we have another overly opinionated and egotistical persona running amok following from others' example.
