[UPDATE RELEASE] For the following Wrappers : [b][RAGE - x86/x64 bit][/b] [b][Wolfenstein: The New Order - x86/x64 bit][/b] [b][Fixes] :[/b] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I) Fixed the following performance issues that were visible under single GPU: a) Sometimes Wolf/Rage would start with very low FPS (5fps) b) Sometimes the framebuffers where not in sync properly. c) Updated the [INSTALLATION] section in the Readme describing WHAT steps must be followed in order for the Wrapper to work properly (both RAGE and WOLF) II) Fixed a rare occasion when under Single-GPU configuration, the separation and converge (read from NVAPI) where too low giving a flat (reported by some users as "Fake-3D") image. The results now are the same with the ones achieved when this problem wasn't present. III) Fixed the RAGE x64 version so now it starts when using SINGLE-GPU configurations. IV) Fixed the ability to ALT+TAB. Now the game will not crash anymore when ALT+TABing. V) Various improvements to eye synchronization. While still not "perfect" overall it should provide better results. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [b][New Features] :[/b] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I) Added ability to toggle/change convergence : a) Both RAGE/WOLF now feature a convergence change mapped to R_Mouse Button (used when aiming) to align the weapon with the world in order to provide proper aiming. b) The HUD has now the convergence locked in order to AVOID HUD convergence changing while aiming. c) You can MAP any button (instead of R_Mouse Button) in 3DVisionWrapper.ini d) You can set any alternative convergence VALUE in 3DVisionWrapper.ini e) If you prefer you can change the button MODE to be a TOGGLE rather than "HOLD" to work one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [b][TESTING] :[/b] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I) Testing was done on two configurations (systems) across GTX500 -GTX700 graphics cards in: a) Single-GPU / Single Monitor b) Dual-GPU / Single Monitor c) Dual-GPU / 3D Surround d) 3DTVPlay and Single-GPU/3D Surround wasn't tested (but reported previously to work) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [b][MISC] :[/b] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wrapper was tested with all other fixed games (Amnesia, Chronicles of Riddick, Broken Age) and was found working will all games : 3D Vision started, both eyes were rendered in stereo 3D. During the test no Shaders were dumped or fixed. As a result I can say the wrapper is "mature" enough. If somebody is really interested I can create an SDK + workflow + documentation for the wrapper (on how to use it to make your own fixes) and release it to the public. [UPDATE RELEASE]

For the following Wrappers :

[RAGE - x86/x64 bit]
[Wolfenstein: The New Order - x86/x64 bit]

[Fixes] :
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I) Fixed the following performance issues that were visible under single GPU:
a) Sometimes Wolf/Rage would start with very low FPS (5fps)
b) Sometimes the framebuffers where not in sync properly.
c) Updated the [INSTALLATION] section in the Readme describing WHAT steps must be followed in order for the Wrapper to work properly (both RAGE and WOLF)

II) Fixed a rare occasion when under Single-GPU configuration, the separation and converge (read from NVAPI) where too low giving a flat (reported by some users as "Fake-3D") image.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[New Features] :
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I) Added ability to toggle/change convergence :
a) Both RAGE/WOLF now feature a convergence change mapped to R_Mouse Button (used when aiming) to align the weapon with the world in order to provide proper aiming.
b) The HUD has now the convergence locked in order to AVOID HUD convergence changing while aiming.
c) You can MAP any button (instead of R_Mouse Button) in 3DVisionWrapper.ini
d) You can set any alternative convergence VALUE in 3DVisionWrapper.ini
e) If you prefer you can change the button MODE to be a TOGGLE rather than "HOLD" to work one.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[TESTING] :
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I) Testing was done on two configurations (systems) across GTX500 -GTX700 graphics cards in:
a) Single-GPU / Single Monitor
b) Dual-GPU / Single Monitor
c) Dual-GPU / 3D Surround
d) 3DTVPlay and Single-GPU/3D Surround wasn't tested (but reported previously to work)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[MISC] :
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wrapper was tested with all other fixed games (Amnesia, Chronicles of Riddick, Broken Age) and was found working will all games : 3D Vision started, both eyes were rendered in stereo 3D. During the test no Shaders were dumped or fixed.
As a result I can say the wrapper is "mature" enough. If somebody is really interested I can create an SDK + workflow + documentation for the wrapper (on how to use it to make your own fixes) and release it to the public.
Just let me know if somebody is interested.

So the game launch without the adds, with the fuckin intro video. What do I miss without "allowConsole 1"? And so I have black or white squares instead message help texts, objective marks etc... Menu is in black and white. Indeed some improvments in sync eyes issue, nice one.

First of all if it starts with the "fuckin" intro movies you "fuckin" didn't read the "fuckin" Readme file. Secondly you prove you "fuckin" can't create a "fuckin" shortcut as the whole "fuckin" point of that is to skip the "fuckin" intro movies so the wrapper "fuckin" works "fuckin" properly and renders "fuckin" correctly, which apparently you "fuckin" can't "fuckin" understand. Thirdly I do not appreciate your "fuckin" sarcasm my "fuckin" friend. Instead of "fuckin" posting that you can't create a "fuckin" shortcut on a "fuckin" pirated version of the game you should "fuckin" learn how to make a "fuckin" shortcut. You should "fuckin" develop some respect for people who want to help others for free (which apparently you lack). And because of this, I have decided that I will NOT release anything public again.

You misunderstood completly. You made awesome work and I already said it. I highly respect you. I just report some problems and the bugs I encountered. The f***g word wasn't for you, I never liked intro videos that we can't skip. It's not the first time I noticed your susceptibility. I apologize if I hurts you, that was not the purpose, just to report some issues as I made before. There was no sarcasm here, sometimes language makes misunderstandings... English is not my language. Keep the good work for others then. And I figured what I missed in the bloody shortcut, it was a long time I didn't make one: I wrote: "F:\Wolfenstein The New Order\WolfNewOrder_x64.exe +com_skipIntroVideo 1 +com_allowConsole 1" instead of "F:\Wolfenstein The New Order\WolfNewOrder_x64.exe" +com_skipIntroVideo 1 +com_allowConsole 1 And now all is fine,no missing texts menu, no white squares or missing texts. Thanks again for your awesome work. That's all.

Hi Helifax! Tried out your new profile WOLFINSTEIN ... In general, I noticed frame synchronization has become a little better! (But still not enough for the game on the big screen) sight on the right mouse button and HUD fixed perfectly! Noticed that the game keeps stable 30 fps, only when you first start the game after you restart the PC! When you run the game, it goes back to 5-10 fps! Another problem! In 3D mode, the settings can not get AAA smoothing images! Driver settings, and the settings in nvidia inspector profile WOLFENSTAIN 3D and profile WOLFENSTEIN New Order - or to no avail ... Thank you for your work!

I report that its not a good combo, somehow the eye synch is much worse on sony hmz than on my other displays. Try to use 120hz monitor or projector if you have the chance. For examble on my 120hz 720p projector, its very much playable and looks incredible.

I guess we have finally managed to get Helifax angry... no wonder. Everybody here complains (myself included) that this or that does not work, when the overall gaming experience is incredible (let alone the fact that this is the ONLY way to get all these great games in 3D). To me, RAGE has turned into a fascinating experience thanks to running it in 3D. I can hardly wait to try all the other games. Truth be told, I imagine the wrapper is purely a hobby for him. It should not turn into customer support... On the other hand, most of us have no idea about the technical work involved, so we just imagine everything is easy to do, in typical ignoramus fashion. Please excuse the sometimes childish replies, requests and attitude. What can we do to keep you with us, Helifax? Your work is INVALUABLE! Please let this thread continue. :) Update: Rage x64 now works (with and without EVGA Precision X running). Thank you for updating the README to include the "hide intro movies" warning. Convergence is modified on aim (thank you very much!). However, object/character shadows need to be disabled somehow, because at that convergence level they are partially visible and are broken in 3D. I am trying to disable shadows via cfg. Again, thanks!

I don't want everyone to get me the wrong way or anything. It's not chtiblue's fault that I got angry today. So far I got alot of e-mails asking for help for all the weirdest things like the shortcut problem that he posted. I always encouraged CONSTRUCTIVE criticism like the one mstegaru gave regarding the AIM convergence, but issues like how to edit a file or how to create a shortcut or where can I find the button keycodes are NOT issues that should be posted here as are not related with the wrapper at all (but rather normal PC usage - things that can be found using a Google Search). @chtiblue - I apologize if you weren't sarcastic, for me that phrase sounded pretty sarcastic. @mstegaru - I am glad that everything works out now. Regarding the shadows: - Open RAGE/Shaders/Shadows_53_Vertex_1.glsl file - Find the line "gl_Position.x += g_eye * g_eye_separation*100 * (gl_Position.w - g_convergence);" - You can change it to something like: "gl_Position.x += g_eye * 10000;" or similar. This will "move" the shadows out of the screen so you will not see them anymore. NOT perfect solution but it gets the job done. Yes, this pretty much started as a hobby and some forum members know that I wanted to make a 3D Vision wrapper for OGL for quite some time now (from 2009-2010 actually). All the games so far have pretty much everything fixed (but NOT entirely as one can clearly see). The main reason is it takes A LOT of time to hunt all the shaders and apply fixes for them (as any 3D Vision fixer knows). At the moment the wrapper is pretty much stable and can handle a lot of complex stuff including shader dumping + swapping, convergence swapping on button press, different entry points and so on. I was basically looking for people who are actually interested in trying to fix other OGL games as well. That's why I wanted to make a SDK to release it publicly. I am not saying the wrapper is complete (as alot of other stuff can be added to it) but I think it is sufficient to make any pure OGL game run in 3D Vision. Problem is I haven't seen anyone interested in this.... which made me a bit sad + the regular mails I get...well I decided maybe I should pull the plug...

I as a lurker would like to learn how to work on this stuff. I just don't know how to. I tried to understand whats going on and download the information from https://github.com/tliron/opengl-3d-vision-bridge. But, I then have a hard time since I don't have tools/software to do anything. Basically what I am trying to say. A lot of people would love to help like me. But, We don't know how. I would love to learn. Only if there was a YouTube tutorial for everything. :)

Im glad you didn't take time fix the Penumbra games i voted for then, i doubt many people would have been benefited. Sounds like a pain in the butt. What if you made the software so that people interested in OpenGL games can identify the shaders for you so that you just spend time fixing them?
