So I've been scouring these forums and other locations trying to figure out exactly what is going on with my setup. Well, I should say my friends setup, as I'm building his computer for him.
I received the ASUS VG278H yesterday and hooked it up to my computer while I was waiting for the rest of his parts to get here. I wanted to make sure there weren't tons of dead pixels and that the monitor even worked, and it did. Got the 3D Vision 2 stuff hooked up, went through the setup and it was working fine. Then I disabled it to try out some other games on it. When I went to turn it back on, it didn't work. Nothing. Go through the setup again and it just doesn't work. At this point, I've built his entire system and have the monitor hooked up to it, and its the exact same issue. The 3D light on the emitter will not turn on at all, yet there is no error message for it in the monitor menu. However, the option to change anything with it is grayed out. I am using the Dual Link DVI cable that shipped. Tried an HDMI cable, same thing. I will say, I remember the glasses flickering darker when I used them initially. They don't seem to do that anymore when I turn them on. Is that something dealing with syncing with the between the emitter and the glasses? Or should the glasses do that anyway? I'm just trying to narrow down the problem.
If the emitter was somehow unplugged or whatnot, I'd have the red message in the menu. It does read as a Generic PnP monitor in the Device Manager, but I cannot find an INF anywhere to switch it to the Asus. (the nvidia control panel does see it correctly though)

There is no .inf for this monitor. Mine works fine and it also shows as Generic PnP in the device manager. If I remember, it will shows as a VG278H in the display properties where you change your resolution.
Did you do a full intall of the latest drivers? It should have installed the 3D drivers, along with a driver that enables the emitter.

So is your friend still your friend after you broke his new gear? /tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
You can use monitor asset manager to pull the active registry edid and make an .inf file
http://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/moninfo.shtm
You can also see if the emitter is activating by using a camera as explained in this thread.

In that thread, he solved his non working emitter by on his projector by unplugging and disconnecting the display.

You linked to the same thing twice. :) If you could link to the thread that explains to see if it is activating via camera, that would be awesome. Thank you.
