SOLUTION : creators update - fullscreen mode - 3D vision

Where it works - no change: * Skyrim * Just Cause III * Assasins Creed Rogue * Rise of the Tomb Raider - Native 3d vision works * Farcry Primal * The Forest * Dishonored * Dark Souls II - but crash afterwards and de-installed itself wtf * Lichdom : Battlemage * Sniper Elite III [i][b]Now the question, does anyone have a solution for this? If you accidentaly update to creators update, do NOT roll back. Because the roll back won't be complete and fullscreen mode is broken afterwards, that means some of the 3D vision games won't work as described above.

Instead go to settings > game mode > and disable everything that is related to the game mode.

Fullscreen should work again and so 3D vision.

I made a big mistake, I let MS update my Win10 with the creators update. The moment I saw it I rolled back immediately to the previous built. But since then 3D vision is troubled. DDU and newest driver did not bring any relieve here.

What is the problem?

In some games 3D vision stops kicking in. For now I can reliable say this for the following games (I will update the list after some more testing):

*Rocket League - Helix fix - 3d does not kick in
*Mafia III - CM - 3d does not kick in
* Remember Me - Helix fix - 3d does not kick in
* Deux EX Mankind Devided - Native 3D vision - 3d does not kick in - even if checked / changed via prior options and ingame options
* Fallout 4 - Helix fix - 3d does not kick in
* Mad Max - fix - 3d does not kick in
* The Witcher 3 - fix - 3d does not kick in

(...)

Where it works - no change:

* Skyrim
* Just Cause III
* Assasins Creed Rogue
* Rise of the Tomb Raider - Native 3d vision works
* Farcry Primal
* The Forest
* Dishonored
* Dark Souls II - but crash afterwards and de-installed itself wtf
* Lichdom : Battlemage
* Sniper Elite III

Now the question, does anyone have a solution for this? I might be simple or am I screwed now? It is indeed weird that it works for some games and for others where it worked before it stopped. Thanks in advance for any help.

Fallout 4 works just fine for me here in the Creators Update (Build 1703). 3D Vision kicks in and the fix works just fine. http://helixmod.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/fallout-4.html I hate it that the UI is at screen depth but oh well! Not really a big FAN of this game;)

thanks helifax. Maybe I should re-install the creators update? There might have been some changes when it comes to the fullscreen option of games under Windows. Where can I control are modify this?

But I will try with this hotfix driver now. I think the problem is that some games do not go into proper fullscreen as before, therefore 3D vision does not kick in. The games where fullscreen works normal, 3D also kicks in normally. But I just don't know how to force "real" fullscreen in those games. EDIT : hotfix driver is not helping.

So after googling a bit I found out that the new Game mode destroys fullscreen in games. A lot of people are reporting this: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/W10-Creators-Update-broke-fullscreen-mode/td-p/5983995/page/7. Since I rolled back I cannot disable the Game mode. It seems that the Game mode is not rolled back properly by MS. Some files are still there but without giving you any means to disable it. Some people suggest changing the resolution or the refresh rate of the screen, nothing works for me. Seems I have to go the way back to the creators update in order to disable the game mode which breaks fullscreen in some games.

That is very weird! I have Game Mode ON on my Surround RIG. But maybe it works because I am running 3D Surround (where the driver gets exclusive control over WDDM for Surround and 3D Vision...) I plan to upgrade my Laptop as well and see what happens there;) I'll let you know! @mrorange55: Don't you have a back-up? Always make backups;) At least one per month;) otherwise you're stuck in this update/upgrade "inferno" ! :(

As a result, you get the nice LAG when you open Explorer for 1 second (that is because both the Driver and WDDM fights for control;)) ) I can't remember where I've read it but it is specified that in order for Surround and 3D Surround to work, the NVIDIA driver needs to have full control! (Windows still doesn't let you do Surround/Eyefinity without a NVIDIA/AMD driver).

Phew, that's good to know, because my PC is downloading the update right now. Edit: What the...? I went to mow my lawn when the download was at 75%, and now it's like it never started in the first place! I guess that's why they say it's better to update via ISO.
