3D Fix Manager - Application for installing 3D Vision Fixes + Hotkey Editing Support

I would suggest the 3dtv play tool with the restriktions is now obsolete. But there is one problem left i have to connect my passiv 3d tv via vga to activate the 3d discover mode. With a hdmi cable the 3d discover option does not exist, if you use a 3D TV as a pc monitor. Is there a possible workarround ?

I also tried the tray tool you suggested but upscaling fps still did not work.

So generally this combination of 3D Vision + Bigscreen Beta is pretty useless due to the following reasons:

 1. "Bigscreen Beta" only works in 3D if you set ingame resolution to the native resolution of the monitor. For me this is 2560 x 1440. The same issue applies for "Virtual Desktop" app

 2. Getting 90 fps per eye in 3D mode (= 180 fps in 2D mode!) in WQHD resolution is nearly impossible for most of the current games. FPS upscaling does simply not work with Bigscreen Beta / Virtual Desktop. Using Oculus tray app does not help.

forget bigscreen and virtual desktop, it was a stupid idea of me to start with this tools. The tools are not much expensive, thats why i said this. I used them before i bought vorpx and tridef. the resolution problem is caused by the hooking conflict. You have to you use the hookless desktop mode of vorpx and thats why you have to use the desktop resolution for the game. But in the regular hooked mode of vorpx you switch to fullscreen and the highly customized game profiles are loaded. You can set ingame any resolution you have setup in the nvidia settings panel in the windows settings. I prefer 4:3 resolutions because i can zoom the cinema display in the vr much higher. Typical i choose 3200x2400 on my RTX 2080 on my Full HD 3DTV and the Oculus Rift. Without Downscaling/Supersampling resolutions the 1k Displays of the oculus rift look ugly. But the regular fullscreen hooked mode of vorpx does not start because of the conflict of the d3d11.dll of the helix 3dfixes with the d3d11.dll or dxgi.dll of vorpx. Perhaps you just need to rename the d3d11.dll of your 3DFixes ? The regular fullscreen mode of vorpx is already working proper with the 3D Vision SBS of Rise/Shadow of Tomb Raider and Deus Ex Mankind Divided, because of the vorpx game profiles are optimized to support it. Nvidia Panel Resolutions: https://m.imgur.com/gallery/SRie8 frame sequential 3D Colour Correction needs another regedit setting. But only the author of the 3D discover SBS idea can help you. You can contact him in this thread: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/912552/3d-vision/modifying-3d-vision-to-support-sbs/24/

I really really love this tool! (And when I don't use it, I get into trouble!) I hate to be picky, but is there a way we could add our own resolution to these lists? (I use Surround 5760x1080 and non of those pre-defined resolutions matches ^_^) Again, sorry for being picky! Many many thanks!

Hi Helifax, I had found a C# Wrapper for accessing monitor data and supported resolutions. Unfortunately I've found it after I had implemented all the resolution support and GUI elements. I don't think I want to change all the things again but adding supported horizontal and vertical resolutions by the monitor to the selection list would be relatively easy done without much work. So you should also see your surround resolutions and unsupported resolutions shouldn't show up any more. To make this work you would have to tick the option "Link profile to display" so that 3DFM knows from which monitor to get the resolutions. I'll upload a beta later today. @Schwing:Not sure what you mean but so far you can either select a resolution from the list or type in a number you like.

Hi Paul, I'll try and recreate these issues but I've had 2 problems over the last few days: 1. Same as poster above, Steam seemed to think a game had been uninstalled after I'd launched via 3dfix manager. This happened twice. The game files were still there, I had to reinstall in steam and it picked up the existing game files. Hasn't happened today though do I'll keep an eye on it. 2. I launched a game (divinity) in 3d mode then came out. I went into the 3dfix Settings > Nvidia 3d settings and modified the 3d depth multiplier. When I tried to launch the game again, the emitter was enabled but the shutter glasses weren't. I tried the 3d vision test and same problem. Rebooted, and still no 3d. Shutter glasses would not activate. I went back into 3dfix manager and I noticed that the shutter frequency was ticked and the sync mode was set to 3d vision lan environment? Very strange. I closed 3dfix manager and then reran the Nvidia setup and changed it back to single IR environment. Everything is fine now. I'll try to recreate this, could be something my end, picking up old config. *edit* just tried to launch divinity and sure enough, the steam install prompt has just appeared again!

Took more time than I thought to add the supported resolutions / refresh rates feature >.<. Going through the results of the API call takes some time for the CPU and blocked the GUI. I've done the code then completely asynchronously for not blocking the GUI. For showing only supported resolutions go to Display Profiles tab and tick the option "Link Profile to Display" and choose the name of your display from the list. Then it takes 3-4 seconds until the supported resolutions show up in the lists. I'll look how I can improve performance here but currently I've no idea any more. However it doesn't matter so much. On next launch of 3DFM the lists are already filled with the supported resolutions because this is done on startup which takes 3-4 seconds anyway. You can download a beta version of 3DFM here. I would be happy about feedback if the correct resolutions / refresh rates show up. Hopefully Surround resolutions are shown, too. At least even DSR resolutions do show up for me. @rustyk21: Yeah you are the 2. person who tells that Steam shows up an uninstall message when starting games. Funnily I haven't changed the code for starting Steam games till many months. Maybe Steam is a bit buggy currently? Which Divinity game is it exactly? I'll try then, too. For starting Steam games I use this command: E:\Steam\Steam.exe -applaunch 308060 (this starts Black the Fall for example). The directory to Steam is automatically detected by 3DFM. About the other issue - I just tested this. After passing the 3D Vision setup wizard the same IR output mode is also shown in 3DFM. When no registry entry for this exists 3DFM sets it to single IR by default. So don't know what's going wrong.

Hi feferito

I haven't tried it with vorpx so far but this is the next thing on my to do list. I only tested VR on "Bigscreen Beta". Here is a short tutorial how to use 3DFM with Bigscreen Beta:

 1. Start 3D Fix Manager
 2. Go to "Display Profiles" tab
 3. In your monitor profile tick the option "Link Profile to Display"
 4. Choose the name of your monitor from the list
 5. Tick option "3D display type" and set it to "3D Vision Discover for VR"
 6. Tick option "Preferred 3D format" and set it "Reversed Side by Side"
 7. In the left upper corner you see some filter options for 3D Fix Manager. Change the filter on the right side from "All fix types" to "3dmigoto". Now only supported games are shown in the list
 8. Install and run "Bigscreen Beta" from Oculus store. Somewhere in the app you can enable Side by Side support
 9. Go to "Installation" tab in 3D Fix Manager and launch a game via the "Play 3D" button.
 10. Make sure ingame resolution is set to your native monitor resolution. Otherwise Bigscreen Beta doesn't work.

ok Paul, i'll try it with oculus and Virtual Desktop 4. Choose the name of your monitor from the list.... I MUST CHOOSE VR-DESKTOP (for oculus), right? 10. make sure ingame resolution is set to your native monitor resolution... AND IF I USE OCULUS, WHICH RESOLUTION I MUST USE INGAME? TNK

Actually I meant the name of the monitor. Didn't know that Virtual Desktop App is listed as a display device? I've tried this app only a few minutes and refunded it then from oculus store. But doesn't really matter if you link the profile to the display. You can skip that step if you like. Linking is only good if you use multiple displays like projector, monitor and TV. Then you don't have to select the correct profile manually on game start. But when only using Oculus Rift you don't really need that. Just make sure that the monitor profile is chosen in the title window bar. I had to use my native monitor resolution for my Oculus. I know this isn't optimal but other resolutions didn't work. I only saw a black screen then. My monitor has a native resolution of 2560x1440 so I had to use that.
