Thought I would start a thread on this just announced new game titled Alien: Isolation.
So far, and yes, I know about Alien: Colonial Marines dubious release, but from what I have seen so far and what the developers are saying in what they are attempting to accomplish sounds like the Alien game we are looking for. Can you imagine this in 3D???

"possibly"
Battlefield 4 made a similar statement [almost identical]. Then expected someone to fly down and add support in themselves on their own dime.
----------------------------------
Its kind of interesting that they may have competition from an unexpected opponent, SOMA. I saw trailer and couldn't help but think of SOMA. I hope this game has a little/no focus on weapons. There is nothing more terrifying then helpless in space. Put a gun in your hands, and death doesn't matter. Dieing just feels like your fault.

The first time I watched Alien I was about 7... and scared SH*TLESS! I must say I've always been a fan of the Alien films and I really hope that they manage to pull this off.
Judging by the IGN preview (shown below) this game will be far superior as compared to the earlier crap like colonial marine. For once we get a game with the same mood and atmosphere as the original film and I must admit that I am quite excited!

I'd encourage people to wait for reviews on this one. But if you want to preorder, I can hook you up with a copy for $35. I can probably do this after release too. Send me a PM if interested.
Also, as eqzitara predicted, no Oculus support, was only a demo.
This really REALLY annoys me. It seems the devs wanted some hype off the DK2 media so they mislead everyone into thinking their game would offer direct support.
Why demo your game on tech it's not being released for, and then wait a month before letting everyone know? Whoever made that decision needs their head testing.
I'm really tempted to get it, but I feel too annoyed by the devs to give them my money. Shame really.

So... I am failing in seeing where they specified there will be no 3D or Oculus Rift support?
Is it on their website or something?
If is DX11 I bet we can either enable compat mode or use 3DMigoto to make it playable ;))

Worth pointing out that they don't say no 3d support (though that's probably the case), just no VR support.
Honestly, that makes sense. VR requires a lot more than headtracking+3d to function as a good experience. You can't just slap on the basics for VR support and expect a good result. Better to not do it at all, than to deliver a poor quality experience. And with two dev kits and a just-released new prototype, the hardware is in constant flux, with no consumer version in sight. It would be an expensive proposition to build support for all versions, and maintain it for whatever is yet to come.
