nVidia 3DTV Play and Driver issue
I have a Gigabyte GeForce GT640 (http://www.gigabyte.com.au/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4255#ov) in a Windows 8.1 x64 PC, connected via a HDMI 1.4 cable, to a Samsung 55" HD 3D Smart TV UA55F6400AM (http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/tv-audio-video/television/led-tv/UA55F6400AMXXY). 1.I had nVidia driver version 310.90 installed and could enable Stereoscopic 3D and watch a 3D BluRay movie. 2.I then installed the trial version of nVidia 3DTV Play and could play COD Black Ops in 3D. 3.The 14 day trial period ended and I uninstalled the nVidia 3DTV Play software. 4.Sometime later I purchased nVidia 3DTV Play, installed it and updated the nVidia driver to version 327.23 5.Now I cannot activate 3D at all. Scenario 1: If I roll back to nVidia driver version 310.90. I can enable Stereoscopic 3D and watch 3D BluRay movies. If I install nVidia 3DTV Play, nothing changes. I cannot see the nVidia 3DTV Play logo in the nVidia control panel, and I cannot play 3D games. Scenario 2: If I upgrade to nVidia driver version 327.23. I cannot enable Stereoscopic 3D, when the wizard runs it does not turn the TV into 3D mode and I cannot complete the wizard. If I install nVidia 3DTV Play, the logo displays in the nVidia control panel, but I still cannot complete the wizard. When attempting each of the scenario’s I removed everything nVidia related in control panel, rebooted, and when running the nVidia install I a selected clean install. Any ideas what I can do to resolve this issue?

Problem Solved! In nVidia driver version 310.90, the only way to enable/disable the Stereoscopic 3D is via the nVidia Control Panel. With nVidia driver version 327.23 installed there is now a new check box that must be checked first, before you go to the Stereoscopic 3D settings in nVidia Control Panel. In Windows Control Panel\Display\Screen Resolution there is now a check box at the bottom to “Enable Stereoscopic 3D for all connected displays”.
