HELP - crash on start to desktop with AC Origin and Rainbow Six
  1 / 4
Guys, I need your help. I think I figured out that if I have 3D vision turned on in the NVIDIA Control menu AC Origin and Rainbow Six, since their last updates, do not start but crash back to desktop. The driver does not matter, since I tried all three last drivers. With 3D vision off in the control menu they start without problems. Can you please check if you see the same behaviour on your rig? Thanks a lot.

Are you playing these games in Compatibility Mode ? Did you change their profiles to support CM ? What Rainbow Six game are you talking about exactly ?

Nothing works... so Ubisoft officially killed 3D VISION... - verify game cache (-) - re-installtion of game and drivers (last three) (-) - turn off overlay Steam, Ubisoft, Discord (-) - starting game without 3D VISION off and turning it on later (-) - different CM profiles (-) - running as administrator (-) Only solution is to play it with 3D VISION turned off in the NVIDIA control menu...

Did you add the CM flags manually in the Assassin's Creed Origins profile or did you add the exe to another profile that has CM ? For Rainbow Six Siege can you check in its profile if disabling the 0x00110992 flag fixes this crash? It's at the bottom in the Unknown flags list. Change it from 0x00000001 to 0x00000000.

For R6 it worked. :) For AC Origin I changed it in the Mad Max Profile also to 0x00000000, but does not work. Tried the AC Unity profile, but I can t find anything change there.

The Mad Max profile doesn't have that flag enabled anyway. Can you test if the game starts with the original Assassin's Creed Origins profile? You can manually add the Mad Max CM flags after.

Okay, I will try again. I think it was not working either. Actually the original AC origin profile is gone now... (need to reinstall driver?) I was binding it to the modified Rainbox 6 profile, but it is also not working.

Yeah unfortunately if you remove the only exe from a profile, that profile gets deleted :( To prevent this from happening you can add a dummy exe to the original profile and it shouldn't get deleted anymore.

That's why it's a good idea to export profiles with Nvidia's profile manager. It only takes a few seconds to re-import the profile.

Did you try disabling any overlays or OSD like Riva Tuner, Overwolf, Discord, Steam, etc? Can you also try removing the exe from its profile without adding it to another profile ? Just to check if the Global profile allows the game to start. If nothing works I think it's a game/engine problem.
