3D Fury = Garbage Beware!
  1 / 3
I finally received my glasses (6 months late) and well, I opened the box and took out the glasses to see there very poor construction. they twist with very little force. I do not think they would survive a 3 foot drop. They would not survive small children that is for sure! had to wipe off the fingerprints they came with and there is a small defect in the plastic around the lens. there is space between the frame and the lenses so if a drop of water hits them it will flow down into the workings of the glasses freely. The glasses you get free at a reald movie theater are way heavier and of a way higher quality than these 3D Fury glasses.
I have tried without success to get them to work ghost free on my 27 inch Asus nvidia 3d vision ready monitor. There is so much ghosting that I will never use them and seeing this is what I got them for they have instantly become garbage to me!
If you want to buy them from me p.m. me and you will get a deal for sure but even at half price they are still garbage!
I am in shock at the poor quality and they remind me of the kids birthday gift bag sun glasses you get in a package for 4 for 50 cents and I expect them to last about as long. They look as if a little pressure is put on the lenses they would pop right out of the frames very easily.
I could live with everything here except they don't even make good 3D on a 3D display so what good are they? I really can't say enough bad things about them!

Wow. Seems it's more people taking advantage of the 3d trend and pushing garbage on consumers, giving a bad name to 3d tech overall. Shame on them.

Update : I used them with my optima hd66 720p@120hz projector and found they do not bypass 120hz@720p as advertised. They instead do a strange thing when you put them in 720p@120hz. They make what looks like an over under 3d image but with no 3d. Just two identical images stacked one on top of the other. This makes it impossible to use the glasses with nvidia 3d vision or any 120hz signal on this display. In side by side I could not get them to stop losing synchronization every 3 to 10 seconds just for a moment. So dlp-link glasses out perform them here. I feel quite swindled. The emitter does not fit into an edimentional dongle either. Maybe I can find an extension for the emitter.

Isnt it just for displays that arent 120hz/3D?

Don't know much about these but had a quick browse through their forums and it seems you have to carefully calibrate and fine tune your glasses for each display you're going to use them with. So I'd recommend (if you haven't already) that you go through their forums and try to find a way to do a proper calibration, although the build quality alone as told by the op, suggests these things are just garbage. From what I gather these are supposed to give you a good quality 3D picture with a regular 60hz display? If that's true and they actually work, they could be a game changing product.

This is why I bought them and no as posted earlier they claim 720p@120hz support. They would be great if they worked but who wants to s3d game at 60hz? The flickering at 60hz will give you a headache after a few minutes. S3d gaming at 720x640 is way to low a resolution for 3d.
They don't even keep proper sync to the display. I have been an s3d gamer for over 10 years and no amount of tweaking will give good results. There is only two sets of presets to cycle through so it's not like rocket science or anything dude! I have seven displays in my house and the 3d fury gives unusable results on all of them!!!!! 60hz or not. If you think it's a ground breaking devise you should buy it from me. Buy the 3d fury for what I paid and I'LL GIVE YOU THE GLASSES AND EMITTER FREE! the only display I could use them on is my dlp-link 720p projectors but edimensional glasses work way, way better for them and dlp-link glasses work even better than that. I also have 5 other pair of s3d shutter glasses and a z2800 h.m.d. not to mention duel projectors setup. I am not new here at all. I think you might be from 3d fury because of the way you talk. They even banned me for asking why they have no way of blocking ambient light. Why would they try to make shutter glasses for 60hz displays and not try to block as much light as possible. That is just plain stupid. Stupid is the word they used to insult me on there forum for asking this question. They claim that the only reason to add light blocking to the glasses is for a marketing ploy. So all these people making them this way are adding weight to the glasses for no reason or so they claim. which is of course Stupid to say. I would not ever sell this crap to someone I know because they would bring it back in anger and I might lose a friend. Every piece has parts that knock around and so on. Like I said I really can't say enough bad things about them! Maybe you know better than the guy testing them in hand but probably not eh?

BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THEY DON'T KEEP PROPER SYNK SO THEY ARE GARBAGE!!!!!!!!! Also I have to bend the plastic out of the way so I can plug in the usb power cable

I guess many people here are aware that glasses can't change your 3D format /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
Make me wonder if you ever know what you are talking about.

What you are describing is a typical wrong 3D format sent.

My guess is you don't understand what they are selling and or what I refer to. These devices working together are supposed to add side by side to any display in 1080p@60hz or 720p at 60hz or 120hz + others. It is also supposed to let any resolution bypassd through the device unaltered. So I'm not trying to change any format. the sbs format is sent to the hd fury 4 and it turns it into left right shutter and the glasses can change delay and duty cycle. So I understand just fine!

This has nothing to do with the quality of the glasses which is what this thread is about. I can do all the things the glasses are capable of doing but in all 7 of my displays the quality of the 3d picture is so substandard I fear it will only turn people off of 3d all together. I'm sure I could get a refund but I don't need the hassle and then how could I prove what garbage I was sent. I was truly looking forward to the 3d fury, emitter and glasses and wanted to write a review proclaming how cool they were but found nothing posative to say.

I can get them in sync but they keep dropping out every 5 to 15 seconds or so just for a moment. This is on a display that works with edimensional, dlp-link and nvidia glasses with no problems (Acer h5360) so I know it's not the projector. It will not let 720p@120hz bypass through as advertised. The 3d fury will add sbs to this projector and works with all the before mentioned glasses but the 3d fury glasses have the worst performance. In order to use it for sbs it needs to be hooked up but if I want to use the projector for a 120hz 3d picture I have to remove the devise. This usually ends with some sort of screw up on the 3d fury when I try to add it in again. There is no adjustment to keep it from dropping out of sync. LOL.

I have also tried adding the 3d fury emitter to my edimensional dongle and have gotten it to work but I have the same sync issue as with the 3d fury.

Have you looked at the pictures of the glasses? The quality is laughable.

Are you sure everything from the set you got is working properly? I know you got the kit 6 months late but you might want to return them under warrenty saying they do not sync with any of your monitors. Might just be a faulty set...

whatever 3D format needs its infoframe to be correctly sent to the video processor.. If you want it to auto detect the format.
In many cases, such as computer use, youtube video and others, the infoframes is simply missing. so you should manually select the 3Dformat.

And no, you don't understand properly, because you wrote:

The glasses (what you refer to as "THEY") CANNOT do anything of such kind.

Instead you should have wrote something like: "when i'm sending 720p120 from my STB , the 3Dformat is not autodetected."

And the answer would be : Manually force the 3D mode.

Once again, this issue have nothing to do with 3D glasses. it's a wrong format sent, or missing infoframe so can't be auto detected.

I also don't understand your rants, i think you can get full refund from them anytime, not only their products are well appreciated on AVSforum but it seems they also have great customer service and refund/exchange from what can be read online.

there is no way I'm dealing with oruseye or anyone else from 3d fury. A new pair of glasses would not help me get what I want.

Just to clear it up. Glasses can not change 3d format but the 3d fury is not a set of glasses rather a dongle type devise that is to add sbs to any display by changing sbs to 60hz or 120hz shutter and with there glasses and emitter is advertised as working with any display. It also advertises that it will throughput any resolution. It does not!

So I can get the 3d fury to change sbs@60hz to shutter @ 720p@120hz on my dlp-link projectors but in order to use the projectors for normal 120hz signal the 3d fury needs to be removed and a cable run strait from the computer to the projectors. If I try to push a 720p@120hz signal through the devise it splits the picture into two identical images and squashes them to fit the screen one on top of the other.

I do not need the money but I need to tell the truth. It is like a sickness with me. I am greedy for the truth not for money.

I know it is just killing him he can't just ban me like he did at the 3d fury forum for asking for a way to block ambient light. According to them anyone claiming a better 3d picture by blocking ambient light with there glasses like nvidia is spreading propaganda as a marketing ploy. lol! To the point he got so mad he called me stupid.

Though the stalking is a bit wierd... especially if he doesnt work for 3dfury's company(too lazy to check)
I would listen to his advice about getting a refund.
