Are you getting good sli scaling in episodes? Original game had issues with sli scaling and performance. I could not get any fps improvement with sli when I tried it last year.
Also shadows on original game were bad.

What kind of framerates are you getting with sli on and off?
Have GTX480s preordered on amazon but don't know when or if I'll ever see them.

Baragon,

I was not able to be sure if SLI is actually working cause the SLI indicator doesn't show up in the game and I left the SLI visual indicator on in the Nvidia control Panel but it didn't show up.
That's true, the original GTA IV did not work with SLI at all, if you disable it you were gonna get the same frame rate as if you had it enabled.

I think SLI is actualy working in this game cause if I enable 3D Vision and using 900mb out of 1000 in the game's options with all settings maximized I was getting 40 to 45 FPS average, that's really good for 3D Vision. This fps average is what I was getting with the original GTA IV with SLI enabled and 2D mode.
I also disabled 3D Vision to see the FPS increase and it actually double it, the average was over 60fps with max at 100 frames. So it feels like it's working even without the SLI visual indicator confirming it.

Anyway, I will disable SLI and play the game and see if the FPS average drops considerably. I'll let you know here in this post...

I'm dying to get my GTX 480. I live in Brazil so I have to wait until a friend comes to America and get one for me. He's going to LA in the middle of May and I hope by that time it's easier to find this beast in stores or even Newegg. I intend to SLI it with time.

Cheers...

few interesting tidbits, the tv in the clubhouse is a 3d tv and it must be autoscopic...whatever, because your player doesnt need glasses to watch it!!!!! Q-bert 3d is crazy, i earned 4500 points which is 7th place overall. The best is first person view while riding a bike..............smile moment. I tried to play mp in 3d but windows live kicked me out saying my pc was running to slow lol.

Baragon,

Now coming back to your question. Yes, GTA IV EFLC works 100% with SLI. I Turned off SLI and played for a few minutes and the FPS avergare was 30fps. Then I turned on and the average was 50-60fps. It almost duplicates, it's 80% more performance at least. Finally Rockstar, finally............
GTA IV never worked with SLI but I assure the DLC version works like a charm with SLI.

Game is a lot of fun, I'm playing the Ballad of **** Tony, I like the spic guy, angry son of gun. The city looks awesome in 3d and its important to lower the contrast and increase the color saturation in game's options so the game colours and lights will look cooler and more real.

It's a pity that the water looks horrible in 3D cause of the infamous bug that some games such as Left 4 Dead 2 has it, the water reflects in 2D, it's a ghost showtime. It's better to play the missions you got do on the water in 2D, I assure you that. I played a mission where I had to steal a chopter and then fire missiles in a yatch. The double image and ghosting was horrifying but I tried to play like that in 3D even with all the bugs. It was kind hard to tell if the chopter was close to the water or not, the double image and ghosting just blur everything.
After blowing up the yatch I had to pursuit some drug dealers escaping in a boat and it was just impossible to aim at them as I was seeing 3 boats out of 1 cause of the ghosting and double image, so I hit my IR receiver button and finish this mission playing in 2D, otherwise I would not have been able to acomplish that.
When I was flying over the city I turned 3D on again and it was gorgeous to see NY from above in 3D. The game's graphics are far away from the eye candy you see in Just Cause 2, but it's still very good, especially the cut scenes.

The game ain't perfect in 3D but it's a lot of fun. But once in the water prepare to play in 2D.

I played for several hours last night and just love this game. First thing i did was find a chopper for a buzz over the city. After lowering depth to 50%ish and increasing my convergence I managed to get the chopper completely out of the screen, amazing really. This chopper was spinning and turning around right over my keyboard, for me this was the best popout i have gotten with my setup so far with any game. Best gta expearance to date.

No problem Baragon, we're here to help and share opinions.

Cravinmild, I also play with 50% depth but I don't touch convergence cause the character is already getting out of the screen and even cars and choppers get a little bit out of the screen. I would like to increase convergence a little bit more but that will freak up the cut scenes badly.
By increasing convergence don't you get cross eye issue viewing the cut scenes?? The cut scenes are awesome in 3D and it's one of the best parts of the game so I don't want to mess that up. I guess you must be playing multi player, that's why you keep tweaking convergence.
The way convergence is set for this game without tweaking causes cross eye issue in a few cut scenes, so I believe that increasing convergence won't do any good for the cut scenes and it will make the crosshair even harder to aim as you may also get duplicated crosshair.

I wish this game did not have the problem with the water reflection, it sucks having to play those parts in 2D cause of the annoying reflection in 2D that duplicates the image and cause awful ghosting.

The game run's pretty well in 3D with good frames specially if you have SLI, but it does suffer from sudden slow downs, sometimes you are at 60fps and then suddenly it drops to 8 for a few seconds and go back to 60. This happens while driving, in a mission, but it's not to often, but occasionally it does happen.
I think this slow downs happens cause this game uses all the RAM available in our system, I have 4GB and it uses all of it.
If you play for about two hours and then close the game, my system needs at least 45 seconds to come back to normal, it feels like it's using virtual memory, then after 30 or 40 seconds its OK again. The same thing happened with GTA IV original version and it's the only game that has this strange behavior.

I just wish that GTA IV had at least 50% of the eye candy you get in Just cause 2. I'm playing both games, but the graphics difference between both games is huge.

I guess i forgot to add that part Francomg, I did increase convergance an insane amount lol, but the effect it gives you is crazy popout. In every other case this amount of convergence will cause your eyeballs to try and climb into the back of your head in an attempt to avoid the view. Now that i think about it i did almost slap the glasses off my face after getting out of the chopper. I also used the close up 3rd person view while flying. I dont know why it works so well, maybe because the city is set so far away the image doesnt distort like it would normaly with that high of convergance. IMO, its the closest ive seen in real world gaming to compair to the nvidia logo in the nv cp for popout and clarity. I agree this game will have you resetting convergance for a perfect picture all the time. The water for me is not so bad....it looks like trash but its not painfull to view or make my game any harder because of it. My poor cpu wont allow for anything over low settings so this may play a part. Funny you mentioned about the slow response time after closing the game. I had this happen also, seemed to take forever, i walked away and came back later it was that bad.
