Modifying nv4_disp.inf
Hi,

I tried using the nvidia 162.50 drivers on my machine for my new 8800GTS 512MB (G92) but it said the card wasn't supported.

I was just wondering if it's possible to copy the nv4_disp.inf from the installation cd that came with my card and replace the nv4_disp.inf file in the 162.50 drivers to make it work.

Does anyone know if this will work to allow me to try the 162.50 drivers.

Thanks,
Rich.

Hi ribuck

it is probably the wrong subforum to ask. We mainly have problems with Nvidias 3D driver (not Forceware). If You're trying to get 3D to work with Your G92 card, Nvidia will release the 3D driver in a short while I think.

Well it's related to stereo drivers as you need the forceware 162.50 drivers to work with the 162.50 stereo drivers, but feel free to ask this to be moved to a different section.

I'm just desperate to get some form of drivers to work with my new card 8800GTS (G92) card and my Shiny New 22" Zalman.

Well, you are in the best case scenario right now in that you own a Zalman monitor and you own a recommended 8 series card.

Instead of trying to get XP drivers to work with your 8 series card, which is a long shot at best, I recommend getting all your software transitioned to 32 bit Vista and get set for a much more pleasant S-3D experience. You have all the advantages as far as NVIDIA drivers are concerned, so I would sit tight for awhile...smiling like the cat with a feather sticking out of his mouth. :D
