Can't get 120Hz to work!
Hi guys, recently bought my 3D Vision kit (cost me a bomb eventhough the new ones are cheaper *sigh*). The monitor I'm using is an Alienware OptX AW2310.
The monitor only came with an HDMI cable, no DVI-D Dual Link included in the box. So I went to bought one (around $10, not sure if it's cheap or expensive).
So my main problem here is that, from what I see, the monitor only works @ 60Hz max.
There is an option to set it @ 120Hz (Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display\Screen Resolution\Advanced Settings\Monitor\Screen Refresh Rate),
but the screen resolution ended up ugly, like it was in 720p! Also when playing games even without 3D, they looked in 720p eventhough the setting's in 1080p!

I'm sure the cable that I bought is Dual Link, which is similar to this:

So what seems to be the problem here? Please help :)

It' probably a bad cable.
Not all cables with all the pins in the connector are actually wired dual link.
Are you absolutely positive it's a Dual Link DVI cable?
Also long cables >6ft seem to be a crap shoot.
One of 2 things happen with bad dual link cables, either you get nothing at all, or you get random pixels doubled up horizontally.
Surprised there was no Dual link DVI cable in the box.

Yeah, you probably just need a Dual-Link DVI cable.

Thank you for convincing me it was a cable related problem. I changed the cable to a more expensive one and got what I paid for :D
The problem has been solved by buying a more expensive DVI Dual Link cable :) Thank you guys!
Also, the monitor is a clearance unit, don't know how it ended up not having a DVI cable.
