Yeah I hate to say it but with stfparis17 I do not think any evolution of the fix is going to change anything for him, it's obviously an issue isolated to his setup.
Yeah and performance is kinda awful in this game and SLI doesn't work properly, disabling volumetric rendering is a must.
Maybe this is one of those games were SLI makes it worse? I used to run SLI but gave it up when the 1080ti came out because of issues like that.
I'm running the game in 3d at 1440p and with one 1080ti (slight overclock) and for me the performance is very good, and hardly any crashes. I really could not be happier!

Fyi latest driver (398.82) has completely blown up my W7 computer (BSOD, broken audio,...). I usualy have 0 problem after updating drivers.
Rolled back to an older one, no more problem and MHW runs fine (at least as fine as it can do with its poor optimization and controller bugs).

Possibly I haven't tried disabling SLI alltogether.
SLI still generally works well with tweaks. The profile I linked earlier gets it going with about a 15 fps boost but with some sky flickering in the hunters camp which I can live with.
Kind of think volumetric rendering makes the game look worse in this so I am happy turning it off as well
What sort of frame rates are you getting, good perfoamnce seems to be a bit subjective.
Definitely will try rolling back the driver tonight. Thanks for the tip DJ-RK

Good question about frame rate and subjective performance. I'm not testing frame rate but basing my opinion compared to performance I see (subjectively) on my other 3d games (witch I always run at 1440p).
PC gamer mag online has an article on recommended settings you can turn off without noticing it but improve performance.

Yeah despite rolling back to DJ-RK's recommended driver, I didn't see any change in my performance in fact it may have got slightly worse.
So I'm running the SLI fix and putting up with the odd skybox flickering which gets it pretty close to a solid 60fps at 1440p with volumetric rendering off.

Thank you very much for the fix! The game looks great!
My fps is between 50-60 but unfortunately I get one stutter (~1sec) in 3d every ~2 minutes, that doesn't occur in 2d.
Lowering the grafics (e.g. volume rendering quality) does not help.

A shame to hear. Performance is consistent for myself, and I haven't added any particularly taxing functions to the fix (yet) other than using wildcard searches in regex, which are a little more taxing on the CPU, but your 8700k should definitely be up to the task. Sucks to hear it's a hit or miss with people and this game/fix and I wish there was more I could do to help. :/
A question to all who have played further than me (which is most likely anyone that owns this game): are there any broken effects in other regions than the Ancient Forest? (again, I would expect water to be a prime candidate)

Only thing that's really glaring is the torches and other light-sources as it was.
I have done 4 maps so far and that's the only real issue. In fact most of that is an issue in the Main camp and you hardly see it in the game proper.

Whelp, looks like that tile lighting clipping issue is here to stay. Since you reassured me there were no other issues I decided to focus on that issue this today, and 4-6 hours later (wasn't really keeping track) it's still not fixed, so I got 3 words: "Fuck tile lighting!"
Every single time I've tried fixing that shit has always turned into a complete waste of time. I've probably wasted an entire day (as in 24 hours total)... or 2, or heck maybe even pushing 3 or more on that shit, never with proper result. I feel like I run into this on nearly every game these days, yet I feel like I rarely ever see other shaderhackers mentioning it in their fixes or users complaining about it (not to say I feel like you are complaining, Necro... or rather, that you are in a literal sense by giving your feedback about it, but I don't feel negatively about it. I would have focused on this issue whether you mentioned it or not), so I don't know if I'm just (un)lucky or what.
The few examples I can find on DarkStarSword's Github makes it look trivial, and most of the games I've tried to fix with it have similar resources and/or patterns, but not once has it ever bore fruit. I've seen DHR mention he's fixed tile lighting in a few of his games, but I've checked the shaders and never seen any evidence of anything other than a standard stereo correction in a lighting shader, nothing to correct any clipping that occurs from said stereo correction which is what occurs in tile lighting, so I'm not entirely certain those are true tile lighting shaders or not... anyways, point being there's very few working examples and I've scoured over them countless times, trying to push their square pegs into my round holes and getting pretty sick of never once having one even remotely fit, so next time I come across it I'm probably not even going to bother trying. Grrrr.
Ok, sorry, just had to get that off my chest after being frustrated from losing an afternoon for nothing. /rant
Also, if anyone wants to chime in to share their experience with working with tile lighting CS shaders, whether good or bad, that would be welcomed.

I'm at least reassured that the issue isn't related to the fix. Sucks that you're having issues either way, though. I just had my controller crap out on me in this game again, which has also led to the game to taking almost 5 mins to boot up as well... which is sadly another set of examples of the poor optimization of this game.

That's really weird I am yet to encounter any issues with the controller.
Performance wise i get no stutters just less performance than I would like.
As for the tiles lights, yeah bummer. Like you said I am not complaining just pointing out the only flaws I am seeing. Hopefully someone else will step in and help you out. I actually thought more of the shaderhackers were interested in this game so it's a shame.
I'll still stick to my word and flick you some cash for your effort this week, it's still way better than CM and the issue so far only appears to occur at camps.
hope you and the cat are doing well.

Edit: I have to correct myself. After playing for 2 hours suddenly the stuttering occured also in 2d and stayed present until I restarted the game. So it's NOT the fix that causes that problem. I must test further.
