Question for people with 3d Vision
  1 / 2
I am curious about what everyone thinks of the 3d Vision and if it is really worth the 600 dollars, not including any upgrades, just the glasses, transmitter, and new monitor. I am a little bit curious but its hard to actually make a decision on something that costs that much that I can't experience first hand.

I don't have it, however I know that in the past (and probably presently) there are some "demo" stations setup in your local computer stores, such as Fry's. Even if you plan to order online you can go there and try it out some before you buy it. Just be aware though that it seems like a lot of things with 3d on a computer in general are very personal things. Also, it seems a lot of people need to ease into the higher depths (aka more 3d) and it may be possible to "screw up" the settings on those demo stations. So what it looks like there may not be exactly what you get at home, and although you may get dizzy or something there (or don't) you may not (or may) at home due to the settings and how they are adjusted.

Supposedly, if it works right, it's supposed to be really worth it. Again supposedly, think Avatar on crack. If you've seen that in 3d that is.

i would pay again for my Samsung 2233rz+3d vision glasses after 6 months testing. Simply i can't go back to 2d gaming.

I'd say it's worth every penny and then some. I'd even say it's priceless. The visual experience it gives is better than drug (not that I've tried any drug, but I do smoke cigar), it's as addictive as anything I know, once you try it you will never forget it and you will crave for it every waking moment.

Try to find a local store that has a demo station setup, that's the only way to know if it's worth it to you or maybe buy it from a store with a good return policy. For me I would buy it again (Fry's had the glasses for $180 and I got the viewsonic monitor for $250-so it was $430 for me).

Well by chance does anyone know of a place with a demo station near Colorado Springs? I used to live in Vegas and had a Fry's there and I love it since I build my own computers, but I haven't been able to find a real good computer hardware store anywhere in Colorado Springs.

Having it i would say its utterly amazing. Completely changes gaming forever. However i can't recommend this Samsung monitor to anyone. It's an 80% working monitor and for it's price is a ripoff. I'm blown away they even sell this the way it is. It's really robbery, they're selling a half assed product at full price. I can't believe they'd have the balls to sell this the way it is.

Get the 3D vision but wait for the new Acer display to come out. That's my honest truthful opinion. Seeing ghosting on the top 20% of the image get's old fast and having to go down on the settings to make it bearable isn't what i payed for now is it.

Ok well since you think the Samsung monitor is a ripoff, any idea about the Viewsonic VX2265wm?

I love my 3D Vision setup, and highly recommend it to everyone. Now that a bunch of family and friends have seen Avatar they have been more curious as to how the 3D looks on my TV. So far everyone has been blown away (I use the Nurburgring video to show the system off). I can't wait to see some world cup games in 3D next year, its gonna be awesome. If you can afford it, go for the big screen instead of the monitor, as then its easier to justify the cost that way (at least to me it is). Then it will be like your getting a new TV, and to add 3D is "only" an extra $200. I guess it depends on who you have to justify it to lol.

i have no idea about the Viewsonic and how it works. Sorry, can only speak on behalf of what i have and have tested and that's the Samsung. If i could do it all over again i'd buy the 3d vision and get a projector.

3D Vision, like someone mentioned, changes gaming like NOTHING else you can add to your system...literally makes you be THERE in the game and not just looking at pretty paintings...it really makes you wonder how you were gaming without it before.
I would go with projection or a Mitsu DLP like I did.

All these opinions are great, only problem is im looking at only having 600 dollars for the 3d vision kit and a tv/monitor.

Get a CRT that's at least 100hz and order the glasses. I got my Dell CRT for FREE. Most people don't want them around anymore. It's holding me over until when Acer ever freaking releases the H5360 projector in the U.S.
