No my mod DOES NOT require any water fix (actually it IS a water fix on its own), and it's absolutely 3D ready (create with CK). Of course, be sure to download the 3Dvision version (not one of the main files!) of the mod in the download section /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Sorry, if I am mistaken, I'll test again, but this morning when I disabled the 3dvision water mod from chez and enabled v. 1.2 of pure waters (3dvision version, or so I think) I had buggy shorelines. I could have tested with the clean 2.1 and not 3dvision ready if 2.1 was released earlier and I had downloaded it. I enabled it through NMM. What was interesting is that if I enable the purewaters mod and the fix from chez I did get the water to show up ok. I'll post again tonight.

I thought that too but I downloaded the file at the top of your link - I guess that was the wrong one. Will also try again later. It's going to be good. :)

@ Chiz - great work AGAIN

I love the map depth of the default but the HUD of the 30% option (less frustam issues). Is it possible to mix and match? If so which bits do I need to rejig?

Thanks.

Happy to see you guys are enjoying the mod, make sure to adjust the settings as you prefer. I tested my default settings at various depths/convergence too to make sure they were still at least somewhat compatible but you can tweak to your tastes.

I'll mainly update using Skyrimnexus and post brief updates here so to minimize how much documentation updates are required:

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9234

I've managed to cut down 3D Vision specific related mods/fixes down to just 3 total, the one above plus these two:

1)3D Vision Water Fix: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=8127
2)Dorkirt's Sky Compatibility Mod: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=789

Looking forward to trying this one. The wisdom on the Helix's thread is well beyond my ken thank goodness the same cannot be said for everyone!

@Chiz what was wrong with Boris's moons? I thought they worked. The starfield, with the moons seem to be by far the furthest entity out by far. Am I missing something?

Thanks
Hiya sorry didn't see this earlier, Boris' moons and aurora were fine/fixed and were the only working fix for those problems actually, but I wanted to port them to HeliX's mod because the potential for more fixes there was greater whereas Boris has not updated his ENB 3D stereo fix for more than a month. There were still a few issues with his mod and we don't have his tools so it wouldn't be possible to keep improving on his mod, while we do have them for HeliX mod ofc. Ultimately its more a housecleaning measure to include Boris' ENB mods with my HeliX mod so you have fewer wrappers, and if you wanted to use another ENB-based shader/FXAA d3d9.dll injector, its now easier to do that. You have HeliX's mod for all 3D Vision related fixes, and a separate wrapper (using proxy) for other enhancements.

Glad you are enjoying the 3D HUD, unfortunately there is no way from what I've seen to decouple the map icons and UI, as its the same vertex shader that controls adjustments to both. I changed the depth to 0.95 to give a little bit better compatibility, but there is a trade-off for sure:

- with low depth value you get better frustrum compatibility, UI appears in front of actors/NPC, but MAP icons still appear too far above terrain and default crosshair is less accurate/usable.
- with high depth value, you get some text/UI that is clipped in one eye, UI sometimes is behind actors in terms of depth but still on top which can confuse your brain. Map is closer to terrain, at 1.00 setting map is perfect. Crosshair is also much better at higher depths, at 0.90+ I found it very easy to replace Nvidia 3D Crosshair and just use default one in 3D @ fixed depth instead.

Ahh no worries.

I cannot believe the difference the 3D UI makes. It maybe static but the whole game feels smoother/better somehow - I guess my eyes don't need to jump back as much. The 60 option is the sweetest for my playstyle and mods - just the right amount of depth for most interactions.

Brilliant!

@Laast - I stand corrected, 3dvision v2.1 is 3d-ready and doesn't require any other mods.
@chiz, great job with the hud, really enjoying it most of the time, especially useful for the map.
I am however having troubles with the water (vanilla+3dvision fix) and here are two images:

Exciting to see things coming together in this thread!... I have removed all ENB series stuff, and am instead using the 3 mods Chiz suggests, inlcuding "Laasts Pure waters"... However, the waters appear very black, and not like the photos shown. Note the waters edges are fixed, and there is no problem at all, just that they are very black.

Can anyone tell me what "pure waters" should look like in 3D ?

As for the moon, and auroras, is there no fix available for them at the moment, apart from the ENB series fix?

Yeah its great, its something that always bothered me in games (I know you too from some of our earlier convos) so it was the first idea that popped in my head when I saw HeliX post the first pics of his brilliant mod with Revelations with his 3D HUD. I really hope Nvidia takes notice of this too and starts recommending to their Devs to use 3D HUD/UI in the future, right now they recommend devs still render these kind of things in 2D but we've seen this begin to change with fantastic 3D Vision games like Trine 2.

But yes, definitely change that depth setting to whatever suits you best, I know for lower depth settings you can use lower UI settings and still get good functionality with map/crosshair and default may be too much. Its only at max depth where things start falling apart and you have to make some trade-offs.

Yes I've ported the 2 major fixes from ENB (moon and aurora) and using either my water mod or Laast's using Creation Kit with Dorkirt's Sky Compatibility mod, there should be no need to use ENB 3D stereo fix anymore. This frees you up instead to use ENB's full shader mod or any other ENB-based FXAA/MLAA mod with HeliX mod's proxy function. You can see details on how to do this here under "Compatibiliy with other d3d9 libraries/injectors: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=9234

I don't think the water can be fixed with Creation Kit so it will look dark like that in either my mod or Laast's mod, you will just get his better water surface textures along with custom water characteristics (waves, direction, reflections etc.) The water issue is a bit more complex I believe, due to the way the Nvidia handles objects/shaders that have no depth info. I don't currently have the understanding to fix this, but HeliX might. I'm not going to spend more time looking into this right now, if someone else wants to I'm pretty sure I have the proper shaders tagged and commented already.

Any chance we can see some of these fixes added to steam creation kit?

I only ask because some of the mods on skyrim nexus really screwed up my game. It literally too me over a month to get my game save back and working without crashing, and was going to give up modding before the steam creation kit and the latest update came around.

Thanks
Both my water mod and Laast's water mod are Creation Kit based. I don't use any custom textures, just change some existing water characteristics for a very small .ESP file. My HeliX mod is also very tiny/lightweight and uses HeliX's brilliant d3d9 wrapper and custom shaders. Also very safe. Dorkirt's mod is just a mesh replacement and as safe as modding goes. Those are the only 3 mods you need for Skyrim right now for 3D Vision compatibility, imo. All links and instructions are in the link below.

Contrary to what is says in nVidia's recommended settings popup I have found all graphic settings now work. Last night I tried turning on all the water reflections to see what happens - very little tbh. Didn't seem to break the water fixes though.

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Are those pics with my water mod? I had thought I checked everywhere but I can check again. The 2nd picture looks like Honningbrew near Riften? Not sure where the first one is.

Yes, these pics are with Dorkit's mod + 3dvision water and 2d-3d hud. The first pic is southward from Windhelm. These discrepancies are seen only from afar, up-close there are no problems. I am however using about 150% separation with the reg hack. I'll check if the problems are visible with 100% separation tonight and report back. Currently I don't have other water mods installed and water reflections are enabled in the launcher. I will also check for any residual mods left behind from times before NMM. Don't bother searching for the first location, the second one is just south-west of Riften, about 200 meters or so from the gate.
