Problem with Rise of the Tomb Raider and 3D Vision.
Hi
I think that the stereo in Rise of the Tomb Raider might be OK except for one thing.
I always see the menu screen (the image of the desk etc.) superimposed over my left eye image in the game.
I've updated my drivers twice since the game came out, and I've messed with the settings but I have no idea what would cause it to retain the menu image constantly only on the left eye.
I have to add that the menu itself is kind of blurry when I look at it like something doesn't quite line up.
This is disappointing since Tomb Raider 2013 was one of the best 3D Vision games that I've played, and I use 3D Vision with it a lot when I play it.
I see that RotTR is only rated as fair, while TR 2013 was rated 3D Vision Ready.
Anyone have any idea how I can make it stop showing the double image on the left eye?
Mike
PS. In the past I remember getting games to work by applying other game profiles to them.
I wonder if I could apply the Tomb Raider 2013 profile to Rise of the Tomb Raider?
I remember that I had to use a utility from Nvidia that allowed you to make the switch but I don't remember the process any more.
Can someone point me to how to do that?

Yes, don't play it now.
Keep your eye on this thread and wait for a community fix.

In the meanwhile, enjoy another game using one of the many stereoscopic compatibility fixes available at
http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/10/game-list-automatically-updated.html
Also, in the future search for existing game threads and try to ask questions there.
BTW, you might be thinking of Nvidia Inspector, but it is not made by Nvidia. Unless you are referring to Geforce 3D Profile Manager.exe by Nvidia http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2625/~/after-updating-my-display-driver,-i-no-longer-see-nvapps.xml.-did-something

For dx11 games you can try compatibility mode, just read the forum stickies. As far as Tom Raider goes, read the thread I linked.
Hi
Thanks I'll have to be patient, maybe I'll be able to play in Stereo the next time through.
I'll take a look at getting The Elder Scrolls Online to look better using your link.
I'd like to play it in 3D Vision sometimes but it never quite looks right.

Hi Mike,
Yes, just give us a bit of time and "Rise of Tomb Raider" will be as good as Tomb Raider (2013), as best as we can possibly make it;)
ESO looks phenomenal in 3D Vision;) Just be sure to read & apply all the instructions from the fix posted on the blog and you will be golden!
Cheers,
Helifax
There's a giant thread on the front page about this (as people have pointed out), please look before creating a new one next time.
Then why do you do this? Ive seen you create new threads on games to give "impressions" which can be done just as well in the original thread. Thats actually worse since you are doing it deliberately.

Hi
I did work through the setup for The Elder Scrolls Online and it does look really good.
I'll start playing that in stereo now, I am on my second time through that.
Started a new character to play with a friend.
I did play a lot of The Witcher 3 in 3D Vision.
That worked great, and it brings life back to older games like TR Underworld etc.
Thanks for the help.
By the way I did type "Rise of the Tomb Raider" in the search box at the top and nothing happened. Clicking the magnifying glass, or hitting enter didn't elicit and activity.

In fact I've tried to post this about 3 times and it just sits at Waiting for Nvidia something or other andt I get a timed out message.
Ok, so it finally went through three times. LOL

Nvidia's forum servers are terrible.
It's best to copy your post prior to hitting reply, just in case the server logs you out.
Once you hit reply, you'll see a spinning circle/icon in your address bar indicating that it has been sent and is being processed, no need to hit reply more than once, ever.
Then if the server logs you out and the reply didn't post, re-log and paste.

Yeah, the forum search sucks. Generally, Googling "game title 3d vision" will direct you here though, for next time. But in this case, the topic has been on the front page of the forum for a week or so. No big deal, just have a look down the first couple pages next time, especially for a recent release. :)
harrika - I don't make a habit of creating new threads for games that already have one. Sometimes I'll do it for a brand new release, if there's been pages and pages of speculation on another thread for months before a game comes out - that way we can get rid of the "junk", and have a "clean" thread for actual concrete information. But keeping everything together in a single thread makes it much easier to compile information, especially if someone has to try and find a forgotten trick or tweak a year or three down the track. Much easier to read through a single thread, than five.
