The July 21st patch caused some issues but Helifax salvaged the situation
Apparently the 3D Vision fix + Surround fix is broken with the latest patch in KOTOR2. Funny how they said they implemented Resolutions up to 4K but fails miserably in Surround.... I wished they just forgot about the game and DON'T PATCH IT AFTER 10 FREAKING YEARS!!! (But I guess the cow still has milk...) Edit: Managed to salvage the situation. I made an archive that basically enables the game to work properly in 3D Vision and Surround. You can download it from here: http://3dsurroundgaming.com/OpenGL3DVisionGames.html#kotor2 Until I will (If I will) update the fixes to work with the latest official HACK...err fix, you can use this one;)
Yes, I gave a look at the latest version.. Still they managed to f@ck up the rendering pipeline and use some very dodgy crap inside... I will probably NOT update the fix to the current versions. (Talk about Milking a game after 10 years lol... GG Disney). The version above (is the last version before these year updates). It supports 3D Vision properly, 3D Vision Surround. It needs to be used with Flawless Widescreen to enable support for all resolutions. I also made a custom HUD for surround that you can find on my Website;) Sad that after all this year they break more things that actually fix...but hey we now have "Controller support" on a game that wasn't even designed with this in mind:)

The thing about KOTOR II is the original release was rushed and did not meet the developer vision of the game. So a lot of content was cut. (I always felt the ending was very weird). It is strange it took them so long to patch the stuff back in. I think the second game is finally complete at this stage so its a shame it's not getting an updated fix. But I understand.

Hello, I would like to play at least one of the KOTOR games using 3DTV Play on a projector however it seems impossible to get the first one to work in 1280x720 and although this resolution is supported in the latest version of KOTOR 2 the 3D Wrapper apparently only works in a different version where 1280x720 is not supported. Helifax, I would be very grateful if you could make the wrapper work with the latest version or maybe tell me another solution. Thanks.

You can use the original version (posted above) just as fine. I have, nor will, any intention of updating the fix to work with the 2015 patch at any time in the future. This is cause they fucked up the rendering pipeline. To make it work it would mean I would have to considerably change how the wrapper is working making it USELESS in any other openGL game. So, a lot of effort for only one game? Nope. The alternative is a couple of posts above (Post #3) and it works perfectly fine. For the 1280x720 OR any resolution fix: - Download Flawless Widescreen:http://www.flawlesswidescreen.org/ - Once installed, run it and select the Star Works: KOTOR II plugin. - Be sure all the tickboxes are enabled ============== Recommended way: ============== - Be sure to set in Windows the same resolution you will use in game: EX: 1280x720 - Restart WSF. - Start the game. It should now work at the Windows Resolution (1280x720). ============== Advanced way: ============== - Go to Settings->Configuration->Display Detection - Select "Enable Display Detection Override" - and set:
Width: 1280 Height: 720 Horizonta/Vertical Display count: 1 HUD Width: 1280 HUD Height: 720 HUD X: 0 HUD Y: 0
- Hit Save Changes. - Start the game. Helifax, I installed everything necessary including "Enable Display Detection Override" in flawless wide screen. I get the 3D Wrapper splash screen and then 3 error messages about mss32.dll and the the game continues normally however I don't have any stereoscopic 3D probably because the wrapper log is stating that the window resolution is 800x600. Also there are no extra resolutions in the game graphics options. How do I get the resolution to 1280x720? Thanks.

After experimenting a bit I have discovered that it only works when starting the game immediately after FWS has been opened. When starting the game again there is no 3D and when I close the game FWS is also closed automatically. Also it loses the 3D sometimes in the game but alt-tabbing fixes this. At least I can play it so I thank you for all your help. By the way my projector is cloned with a 3D Vision monitor, I don't know if that has consequences. I have discovered that FWS is always closed when I close the game but the icon is only removed from the system tray when I move the mouse to it.

Nothing related to the actual CONTENT of the game... The game is exactly the same... even the savegames are the same...
Are you absolutely sure? There was a lot of talk on RPG codex about this. Or maybe I am getting it wrong and its some sort of additional Patch you can apply, but from what I could gather they were talking about an official patch. *false alarm, looks like I got confused with a fan made content restoration mod, as you were*

I am not using any HACK as you put it, it is a standard set-up. I used to use 3D Vision but have now switched to a 3D projector using 3DTV Play. I checked and the process FlawlessWidescreen.exe is being removed from processes when I close the game but the icon is remaining in the system tray. This doesn't matter at all but is a bit strange.

It is very weird that after 10 years they decided to actuallly patch something in this game but NOT the first one;) (I guess that's because KOTOR was made by Bioware and KOTOR2 by Obsidian).
