Can we expect a fix before weekend?

Two months I would say based on past, and it will then break other things just to ensure it is unplayable.

I think the biggest reason 1.3 too so long is because the 3D Vision fix wasn't the only thing in it. 1.3 had a huge changelog.

If they just go back to only fix 3D Vision, I don't think it will take them over a month again. I'm having my doubts they'll fix it but if they do decide to I don't think we're looking at another month+.

I seriously doubt they spent much time working on the 3D Vision portion of the patch. They probably followed Nvidia's suggestion on the call to check to see if 3D Vision was running or whatever it was. My guess is someone there did a quick check to see if the performance was fixed, which it was, without ever checking to see if it broke something, which it did. I can't see how you miss the shadow issue if you did even just 10 minutes or so of checking locations in the game.

My feeling is Nvidia can't fix this with a driver and it will fall on the developer's hand, who apparently think it is "working as intended" from the last post I saw from them.

Well, if nVidia doesn't have enough influence on CDPR to make them fix this problem, this would indeed be a very disturbing sign and I would be more than disappointed. For now the only thing we can do is waiting and hope for the best. At least, nVidia has already realized that we're not happy...

Hello people!

I have a small suggestion. Since it seems "some" of the people @ CDPR are so incapable of a proper fix I suggest the following:

- Have 2 installations of witcher2. Play outside with patch 1.2.
- Play inside with patch 1.3.

Now something good I saw is the disappearance of the white dots on the right screen in Surround. THe bad: SHADOWS!!! even in 2D when using Surround I have horrible RESOLUTION wise shadows, like they are forced on low instead of high or ultra profiles. Having a surround setup I CANNOT CHANGE to a lower 1 monitor resolution!!!!!!! I'm stuck with 5040x1050 which is not even bezzel corrected...
Using the latest betas on a GTX 590...

It seems this patch broke more than actually fixing something..... Oh and btw 16:10 aspect DOES NOT WORK in surround resolutions...
The crappiest patch EVER!!!

Like I said before...about 1 month ago...IT WILL NEVER BE PROPERLY FIXED...this game I mean.....Sorry but this is the case... So go go buy the x360 port which they seem to be so happy about it!!!

Best Regards,

i email CD Project asking for my money back if the game is not fixed. They are selling a 3D Vision ready game. This is a shame.

I did the same thing (only to tw2support@cdprojektred.com). Anyone living in a country with basic consumer protection laws is entitled to a 100% refund if it turns out that an advertised feature is missing from the product. Buying a "3D Vision Ready" game with the intention of playing it in 3D Vision, only to find out that performance and/or visual fidelity is broken, have purchased a product with an advertised feature missing, and are thus entitled to a refund.

Should CDPR manage to solve the 3D Vision issue (which most likely will be 9-12 months from now, considering the patching timeframes of The Witcher 1) then you can always buy TW2 again at such time from the bargain bin at your local shop, thus saving a lot of money and frustration. It's sad, but the way CDPR handled this is simply both wrong and illegal (in many countries).

Actually this is a pretty good suggestion, I have two windows partitions so I will get one with 1.2 and another with 1.3, I'll have to move saves from partitions but that will only take a few minutes rather than waiting for months for a real fix. The big problem for me is to free 40gbs since I uninstalled the game when I lost hope for a fix long time ago. In any case, big thanks!

If this patch would only be about graphic things, this might even be a viable solution. But since the patch is also drastically changing the gameplay, including quests etc., I don't think it's a good idea to go back and forth with the same save game. You'll almost certainly ruining the saved game.

Is there a chance this is related to 64 bit Windows 7? Just made me think because there were problems originally with 3d vision and 64 bit Windows 7, but 32 bit was supposedly ok.

I've got 32bit Win7 and am also experiencing faulty shadows in 3D.

I would like to repeat a question asked earlier here: Is there anyone out there who isn't having this shadow problem in 3D? If so, please post your specs here also.

This is a very important inquiry. If CDPR wasn't just straight up lying when they said they tested the 3D Vision as working in the 1.3 patch then that would mean someone out there should have it working right (unless CDPR's test setup is extremely unique which wouldn't make it a very good test setup).
