I think the Assassin's Creed later games aren't made for 3D Vision (Real 3D) I have a beefy system and if I enable 3D Vision (Real 3D) the game is unplayable.
With AC Origins the newer NVidia drivers the game doesn't even load when 3D Vision is enabled there are to many problems to iron out with these games.
And Again Thank you for your effort.

The damn thing is, that 3D is ok in general....if we fix some lights and shadows but....the performance....from 90 FPS to 10 ....
I have seen that there is a massive problem in the GPU load. The GPU will work only @ 30 % or something like that.

OK....good news from here i could get ridd of the massive performance impact that was caused by 2 of the NVIDIA profile settings !!!!
Now only a performance impact in "hard" areas arround 25 FPS is mentioned for some seconds that is likely playable... I was able to double the FPS. This will actually breake my HUD-MINIMAP but I am not able to fix this until my holiday begins...
But you can check the new performance...
get: https://s3.amazonaws.com/losti/NVIDIA+ProfilesACO_398.82mod.txt

Ah and before you ask, this is unfortunately NOT working for ACO or ACS .... but as i told the performance of ACU was much better than for ACO or ACS from the beginning....hence there is an other major problem.... :-(
But i can check the other AnvilNext2 Games may be some of it will be OK with this modification and improvement...like 4Honor ^^ will see
BUT: SEE YOU IN A WEEK i am offline "from this world" for 5 days :-)
Will work n this after my return and than ill chekc if i can doo any other fix for a anvilnext2 game....but not for ACO/ACS i have tryed it, no way here!

Amazing Losti, still haven't played a few of the previous AC so I won't be playing ACU anytime soon but glad to hear you got to fix the performance hit.

The Minimap and the OnScreenIrons will scale with convergence....The unbinding is not working anymore because of the changed profile values for the mini map. Hence i advice you to play the game in the given convergence.
No specific convergence/separation presets added here in the moment....need to doo something in my real live now. Will check back later to this game, checking the fix Integrity and creating conv/sep presets for div. situations.

Can you hunt the shader and push it into depth? I cant remember that i have skybox problems...or i disabled it here for the first time??
If you set HUNTING=1 and hunt the VS (NUM 4/5) until the skybox is disabled ... press NUM 6 to save it to the shader fixes directorx...open it now you can try to put it to invinity with adding this @ the end of the file:
float4 stereo = StereoParams.Load(0);
o0.x += stereo.x * stereo.y:
but have a look @ the declarations @the beginning watching like this:
void main(
float4 v0 : POSITION0,
out float4 o0 : SV_Position0,
out float4 o1 : TEXCOORD0)
{
you need the output register (o) for the line "o0.x +=" that is marked as SV_Position0, mey be its o1, o2....or another value ^^

Welcome to the anvil engine :-) Anvil engine games suffers from that performance issue :-( hence no unvil engine game is fixed so far.
But for UNITY you can get a "OK" perdormance, it hink you have to delete the original profile form UNITY first...i dont remember in detail here....

Note that I have stopped this fix until I have a confirmation that the profile changes will make any difference for you. For me it does but maybe I missed to add DELETE THE OLD PROFILE FORST in the description....can’t remember but this is definitively not the wrong way and should work....if not....sorry :-)

Not sure what to say in a crowded spot early in the game I get 22fps @ 720p 22fps @ 1440p and 17fps @ 2160p.
High settings with MSAAx2. I'm not sure my profile is correct and I have no measurements before the attempted profile changes.
90fps in 2D @ 1440p.
Single RTX 2080 card.
It's bottlenecking on something and it does not seem to be the graphics card.
I maxed out the settings with no FPS difference.
I even enabled soft shadows with no FPS drop.
Losti have you confirmed your profile fix both with and without SLI?
@4K completely maxed out settings I get 5fps in 3D and 30fps in 2D. It is in the end a demanding game.
edit:
Took a look at what GPU usage might tell me.
Found GPU usage to be 65% @ 1440p and 55% @ 720p. At 4K I got a severe bottleneck at the GPU with almost 100% GPU usage and framerate below 1 fps at settings that produce 20+ fps at 1440p.
It is AA that is killing performance @ 4K with FXAA I get 20+ fps but with MSAAx2 I get 17fps and with MSAAx4 I get 5fps and so forth with <1fps with TXAA. With FXAA I get 70% GPU usage. With MSAAx2 the GPU usage is 80%.
CPU usage is 53% @4,4Ghz old i7 8 threads. 70% CPU usage in 2D with 55fps 98% GPU usage and 95% VRAM usage. 95% VRAM usage in 3D as well. Didn't think 8GB would be eaten by this old game that easily. but then VRAM usage started at 24% while pretty much idling in windows as the measured minimum VRAM usage. I think FXAA might be good enough for 4K in 2D and the ideal level of AA in 3D giving the maximum fps.
None of this shows if there is a magic double the framerate option as I would need to reinstall the drivers to get the default profile back. But getting rid of the bottleneck would be nice somehow. At <1fps in the high end the game is clearly GPU bound. It's using more than half the CPU which is almost as good as 2D although then 2D was GPU bound. Not sure if I can manage to CPU bound it the closest I get is 87% CPU usage 95fps and 50% GPU usage. This should make 40fps in 3D possible if the game behaved like most games but in this case the 2D frame rate is cut by 4 or also 3 @4K instead of the expected 2.

Note that I have stopped this fix until I have a confirmation that the profile changes will make any difference for you. For me it does but maybe I missed to add DELETE THE OLD PROFILE FORST in the description....can’t remember but this is definitively not the wrong way and should work....if not....sorry :-)

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?
