I purchased an Asus GX74 -3D Laptop with a Geforce 560 card in it in Nov. I am also having problems viewing the 3d video editing in Vegas Pro 11 using clips from my Sony TD-10 3D camcorder on the one and only monitor(screen).I have tried the different drivers mention in this thread.
Any other suggestions? Thanks

Not from me, the only laptop I saw where Sony said it worked on an ad was their Sony F series 3D laptop. I even removed my other monitors and had my primary as the only monitor, and still had the same issues described earlier. Move'n on and waiting for them to catch up in a year or so.

It is really frustrating that Sony and Nvidia can't or won't work on getting a solution to the problem. I am a computer teacher and I can't believe that they don't want to fully support 3D video editing.
There are some threads in the AVS Forum in the 3D section on Vegas Pro 11, maybe they will have some ideas.
Thanks for your time. /thanks.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thanks:' />

I can't say it will work with your setup, I don't know, but Power Director 10 is a heck of a lot easier to use and does actually work giving you some 3D playback direct from the editing screens. Heck of a lot cheaper too. It's a tad quirky but does work. Cyberlink has some great free stuff you can plug in. There's a good thread in the AVS forum there too. I've actually ended up using PD10 for just about all my editing, as I'm a run of the mill hobbyist for vid.

Problem is related to External Monitor Preview?
In OPTIONS | PREFERENCES | PREVIEW DEVICE the Stereoscopic 3D Mode is on LEFT AND RIGHT?
Be aware that with standard Nvidia Drivers you will get a message, on 3D EXT Preview, that the application is not rated, you have to press CTRL+ALT+INS to remove this message and get the EXT Preview working, but isn't so easy, you have to tried 2 or 3 times before getting 3D Preview working.
Check also in the Nvidia control panel that 3D Vision is on and refresh rate is 120Hz.

Finally it works! Thanks for your help. I had the preview set to side by side, not left right. /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thumbup:' />

Well, I've solved that problem, so I will write the solution, because there's nothing really helpful in the internet.
If you want to edit a stereoscopic video and see the stereoscopic image in real time on external monitor, and you're gonna use the shatter-glasses, you HAVE TO buy a Quadro card. I've got a Quadro 600 in additional to my 9800GTX, and it worked well. But before that I've tried to enable stereo-output with Geforce, and it showed me black screen due to this famous driver's bug. The newest beta of 300x driver doesn't have this issue.
Geforce showed stereo-image, but it didn't allow to use the mouse, because in that case the 3d-output works via full-screen direct3d, and pressing the mouse works as minimizing the application. Oh, and 3d-display must be the primary display in the system (you can change it in "set up multiple displays").
After adding Quadro (paid only $200) I had many troubles of understanding the stuff. What I know for the moment:
- sony vegas 3d output and stereoscopic player (not full-screen) work via "quad-buffered opengl" (you have to set it in options of stereoscopic player);
- you don't have to set the 3d-display as the primary;
- you don't have to buy an expensive "nvidia 3d vision PRO" kit;
- you have to set up the method of displaying stereoscopic video for this "quad-buffered opengl";
- somehow I've managed an usual "3d vision 2" (glasses with built-in emitter to monitor) with "quad-buffered opengl".
Set your 3d-display to 120 Hz mode!!!
Go to nVidia Control Panel, then 3D Settings > Manage 3D settings
In Global Settings find 'Stereo - Enable' and set it to 'On', find 'Stereo - Display mode' and set it to 'Generic mode' (either with '3d vision' or without, I don't know the difference yet).
That's all! Now you can choose "quad-buffered opengl" in stereoscopic player, and if will work fast, it won't take 10 seconds to open and close the application. And you will see the real-time stereoscopic picture in Sony Vegas on external display.
But!
At first try I couldn't manage to work it with usual 3d vision. And PRO is expensive, so I've find a clone of PRO kit ($120). And it worked. But the last time I couldn't run them, and noticed that usual 3d vision work instead the pro-clone.
