LCD 3D Vision Ready + 3DTV Play = Cash the 40$ too ?
Hi all,
First sorry if my English is bad (I'm French)
I have a problem with 3DTV Play
I have a 3D vision ready LCD (Acer GN245HQ), I have the last drivers installed, I have also a 3DTV (Sony KDL40HX800), When I try to install the 3DTV Play activation tool I need a serial to activate it or I just can use it for 14 days.
Why ? I was thinking when we already have 3Dvision it was free ? I read somewhere it was true ... but it seems not
Any ideas ? Other People have had the same issue ? If yes, how did you do ?

It's not free. NVIDIA is greedy and asks for $40 just to enable a feature already present in the driver.

Found this on Nvidia support
"Free Update for 3D Vision owners
o 3D Vision glasses owners can download Release 260 or higher drivers to enable use NVIDIA 3DTV Play software as a free upgrade to play their 3D content on 3D TVs."

AFAIK you just have to have the emitter plugged in to use 3DTVPlay if you already have 3DVision.

You get free 3D Vision and/or 3DTV Play access if you have your emitter plugged into your computer's USB port (miniUSB cable).
In your case, your Sony doesn't support any of the 3D Vision 3D modes so 3D Vision won't work for you, you're stuck with crappy 3DTV Play. Look into TriDef 3D or even iZ3D for an upgrade over 3DTV Play.
