I suppose it means 3d Ready...

One possible way I have seen its using the IZ3D drivers with side by side output...but with a samsung 3dtv I dont know if the philips one will support this becouse apart from hdmi 1.4 3d format the rest of them are optional to be supported

There is also Nvidia 3d play that is meant for this cases (geforce + any 3dtv) so I assume that in general hdtvs wont be supported by 3dvision. Nevertheless its anounced everywhere since march but there is nothing tangible...not release dates nor real user reviews

So seeing the swamp 3d hdtv pc gaming is maybe its wise to wait longer...? /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Side by side is one of the mandatory hdmi1.4 formats. (supposedly designed for TV/cable/satellite broadcasting but can also be used for anything else)
What is optional is the manual override that allows enabling 3D mode even when the hdmi1.4 3D metadata isn't present.

I'm thinking about buying the exact same TV, mainly for use with nVidia 3D Vision.
Did you ever get a definite answer? According to all specs here (http://www.3dmovielist.com/3dhdtvs.html), it should be compatibly, but at this cost, I'd like to be 100% sure before buying.

In the end i preferred to wait, when i see one model reviewed by someone of the street (commercial reviews usually beautify the results)
and some practical compatibility tests (3d drivers / 3d movie players / games) i will start thinking about buying one again.

On the other hand the 3dtv play launch keeps being postponed (nvidia 3dtv play software finally to be available in september)
and the highlighted tv models are the new ones from panasonic so... ("Supports all HDMI 1.4 3D TVs any and any compatible 3D glasses system, including Panasonic® VIERA® Plasma HDTVs")

If you venture to buy please come back here and ilustrate us with your results /turned.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':turned:' />
