I also question whether BF3 will be 3D Vision Ready on Day 1, unless the functionality is included in the Day 1 patch itself. GeForce Lan 6 was only ~1 week ago, with Nvidia 3D Vision 2 launch being featured so prominently you would think BF3 would've been featured in 3DV or 3DV Surround, but I could not find a single mention of BF3 in 3D Vision. I did not watch every single Youtube vid however from GFL6.
BF3 open beta had 3D stereo toggle in options, but it didn't do anything. The build they had at GFL6 was later than the open beta, probably the gold version of BF3 without Day 1/back-end fixes to address open beta issues. I'm not sure if DICE will have 3D Vision ready in time, if they did I also agree with IC3D that Nvidia would've made a bigger deal about it on their many blogs/sites or at GFL6.
Even if 3D Vision works with BF3, I'm not sure I'd even play in 3D...definitely not in MP anyways. BFBC2 had trouble maintaining 60FPS per eye on my 480 SLI rig often dipping into the 30-40 FPS range. BF3 is probably 30-40% more demanding. In Metro outdoors or Caspian, I regularly dropped to 60-70FPS and even had some settings like AO and shadows turned down or off.

It better work day 1 or I'll be stuck playing online only until it's supported. No bleeping way I'm playing this game in 2D. If I have to buy quad 590's so be it. ;P

How are you playing it if it's not released yet?
But if you do get it to work please post some numbers...

Not much time on my hands at the moment for benchmark(running very well with 470) but you can activate BF3 allready with using this proxy 203.232.208.116 port 8080 for example. EA thinks it's ok. But don't take my word on it, do your research. You don't need to use proxy for anything else but for launch date verification, it's quite slow anyway so disable it soon as you got verified :). Then you can play BF3 but not in 3D it seems...Servercount is increasing fast.
PS. Add that proxy to your IE network LAN settings.
Internet Options --> connections--> LAN Settings---> Use a Proxy....---> click Advanced---> add to HTTP. Apply. Close IE.
Start Origin and launch BF3, wait for verification(Battlelog should open after it, at this point you should disable proxy.)

So what happens when you try and enable 3d mode? Do you have to enable it ingame or does it work externally with 3d vision?
Also what about iz3d?

There is no in game setting for 3D anymore(like it was in beta, did not work i know but now it is gone). nVdidia 3D settings do not do anything, nothing works at the moment. Not tested any other driver then Nvidia.

Same results here. Driver released today, no option in game, nothing happens with 3D settings. The game is listed as 3D Vision Ready in the NV control panel. Legit copy of the game. I'm hoping they just haven't released the day one patch yet.

Johan Andersson, the rendering architect of DICE, was at GeForce LAN 6 at our keynote and talked about 3D support in Battlefield 3 / Frostbite 2 engine.
NVIDIA’s latest GeForce 285.62 drivers are ready to support 3D Vision for Battlefield 3. However The retail version of the game and day 1 patch does not have support for 3D.
We expect EA to add 3D support for Battlefield 3 in an upcoming patch but cannot disclose a date yet.
Please feel free to ask any questions and I can try to answer it.

I wanted to officially respond to this thread.
