BenQ W-1080ST 3DTV Play help
  3 / 3
thank you for the tip even though I already knew. I understand that the community does a remarkable job to make alive a technology more or less abandoned by Nvidia. I already played Dead Space 2 and Dishonored with Helix fixes (which had no problem of resolution ), and it's a incredible immersion. Day and night with 2D . And the games seem to have a better resolution in 720p 3d than in 1080p 2d. In addition, I can have 60fps with my old GTX560ti (pending the repair of my gtx780ti) . Win win !

I have the benq w1070 and this happens to me too sometimes. The way to make it work in most cases is to use a 3d desktop resolution that's the same than the game resolution and it should work. Remember, it has to be a 3d resolution, so check the nvidia panel resolution list and at the top you will see 3d resolutions (720p and 1080p native), and below that normal non 3d resolutions. 720p 3d can be a hit and miss sometimes, but 3d 1080p will work most of the time when you select that same resolution ingame.
I tried it and most games work fine. But Batman Arkham City and Just cause 2 always run at 120 Hz breaking nvidia 3dtv play. Is there any command line option for these games which will force these games to run at 60 Hz? This projector can run at 120 Hz at 1280x720 so it has all the capabilities of a 3D vision ready projectors. It looks like they just did not pay nvidia for 3D vision certification. 3D vision is not so picky about resolutions.
What glasses are you using for the 720p 120hz 3D mode? Will it work with the glasses from Nvidia?

For the 720P@60 that 3DTV Play supports, you would need to use glasses other than Nvidia's. Since Nvidia's emitter is disabled when using 3DTV Play and only acts as a product key, unlocking 3DTV Play for free as long as it remains connected. The W1070 is officially supported via 3DTV Play. 720P@120Hz, requires that the projector supports a Frame Sequential format. When accessing Nvidia's stereoscopic drivers via 3DTV Play, Frame Sequential is not an option. Frame Sequential can only be output when accessing Nvidia's stereoscopic drivers via 3D Vision or Generic CRT and both require Nvidia's emitter to activate. Since it a DLP Projector you can use DLP Link glasses or since the Nvidia emitter is active, you can use Nvidia's glasses. Unofficially, the W1070 can be made to access Nvidia's drivers using either method above via an EDID override from an officially supported PJ.
