It looks like stores that still have 3D Vision kits in stock realized that there's a shortage now and hiked the price. The full kit is now $500 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005XULTG6/ and glasses only is $290 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005WKFT18/. This is Amazon US. The increase is 3 times compared to the regular price.

Well there are those other glasses posted by a user, that will sync with the IR signal from Nvidia's emitter. No idea how they compare, but at least an alternative.
Glad I stockpiled a couple kits. Before 3D Vision ended
"Stockpiled". I had to laugh. No danger of any bunker mentality around here, no siree. That's why I have 2 unopened kits that I bought years back set aside, along with spare sets of glasses. I don't care if World War 3 hits, it won't stop me from playing 3D Vision. I'm set. These 3D Vision 2 kits are definitely getting thin on the ground now, with requisite price gouging taking place, but they are still available at a steep premium. https://www.idealo.co.uk/compare/3015386/nvidia-geforce-3d-vision-2-kit.html

For those of you with stockpiled glasses, be sure to take them out and charge the glasses right now while you are thinking about it. The batteries in the glasses won't last on the shelf, and need to be exercised a bit. Shelf life is like 8 years or so if not used, and you might also have gotten a dead one. Charging and using them is the best way to extend the life of the battery. When you store them, you want to store them with the battery roughly half full. Or cycle between all of your sets to keep them all working.

Good point. In my case, any spare glasses have been given an outing now and again, except those in the kit. It's the emitters themselves that are of even more value to me, since I still use an Asus VG278H with its own built-in emitter. I'll be sorry to upgrade when the time comes.
