It's an Unreal Engine game, that looks good in 3D, it's not without flaws though, some 'ghosting' (not crosstalk) here and there (depending on convergence settings?). Convergence has to be dropped down to .1 to get the menus to align but then also has to be set pretty high to look good in-game, which puts them off-screen. I tried Chiri's Tool, hoping to bind a trigger or key for the low convergence but it wouldn't work, maybe just use a key for each view in the dx9settings.ini.
Anyway the game is actually a lot of fun, a 'side-scoller' in which you fly a little robot with a tractor beam around solving physics based puzzles, similar to Pid but without the platforming.
It's currently on sale over at https://indiegamestand.com/ for a minimum of $1 you also get a steam and GoG key.
edit:attached a few 3D screens, the one that ends in F7 shows one of the things that happens when you hit F7 when saving convergence. When you hit F7 it cycles through different visual effects, shaded no textures, wireframe, etc. Just thought I'd mention that in case you thought it broke something when you saved the settings.

He was impressed by it. Its wierd how I can remember the strangest details.....
Anywho hes got a good noob guide and wrote about alot of games that would otherwise be glossed over. Like Unmechanical, Y's series, sinemora [they are all 2.5D I believe. Not sure if y's is considered]. I didnt try unmechanical but I've tried like 90% of games he listed and agree with his feedback.

Maybe it was just the demo, but the lack of any perceptible story made me lose interest very fast. It also seemed like there was a lot of unnecessary fetching and carrying to pad the puzzles.

I'm playing this now, and can confirm that it's great in 3D. The game is a real gem, actually. Think Machinarium, but in 3D. The atmosphere and music are excellent, and the puzzles are very strong. One of the best puzzle games I've played in years.
In 2D, the graphics aren't particularly impressive, and even kind of dreary. But in 3D, the levels become really sumptous and spacious. There's a ton of layered depth to the backgrounds that pretty much gets lost in 2D. I hope the devs have realised how much better their game looks in 3D!
As mentioned above, the menu is broken (invisible) unless you decrease the convergence, but this is a pretty minor issue, as you'll likely only need to access the menu twice per game session (to launch the game and then to exit). So don't let that stop you from trying it out.

I don't know ... I found a Vertex Shader [VS45AC79A6] that's part of the menus, the background banner part, and I was going to attempt to do a low convergence fix based on the texture but when I tried to find the texture by using the guide here: http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2012/03/dlls-update.html instead of a TEXTURESLOG.txt full of textures it's just full of this ...
Start logging..
BeginScene
EndScene
BeginScene
EndScene
BeginScene
EndScene
... repeated over an over, I've tried this before with different versions of the Debug and a different game and this is all I ever get. At first I was thinking it was just the other game being difficult but now I'm not too sure.

The best I can do for now, save the following as DX9Settings.ini, and drop the release d3d9.dll, in your Unmechanical\Binaries\Win32\ folder with the Unmechanical.exe. Now you can press 1 on your keyboard to toggle between low convergence for menus and high convergence for in-game and if you want to change convergence you can with either Ctrl+F5/6 and save with F7 (Just F7 no Ctrl) or you can edit them in the ini using this float to hex converter http://gregstoll.dyndns.org/~gregstoll/floattohex/ (enter float value and copy hex value to paste into ini) default is 1551 for the high setting and .1 for the low setting.

That approach could work, I'd normally just fix shader. I dont see the point tbh for a menu screen but its up to you regardless. I know little of game.
-----------------------------------------------------
The explanation of getting textures to show in newest dll is a bit different. Lets see if we can get you results with an older dll...
use this one.

You will need to switch back though for that feature once/if you get texture.

Thanks for the info, I'll mess around with it later when I get a chance even if just for the sake of trying it out and hopefully getting it working on that other game.
So far it's all the 2D stuff, intros and the menu, that the high convergence splits off the screen in this ... I have no idea about later on in the game yet. Either way, binding the settings to a key in the DX9Settings.ini works really well for now, defaults to low so the games intros and menus are aligned.

I finished it last night. The only other 2D element I saw was the end credits. It was kinda weird because the game just froze, and I didn't know why. It was only after I dialled back the convergence that I realised that the game was finished and the credits were rolling over the top of the scene (they were invisible previously)
The only other issue I noticed was in a particular room towards the end of the game (a sort of junkyard room towards the southeast of the final level). Once I entered that room, everything seemed to go 'double vision' - kind of like ghosting, but it seemed to effect most objects. Almost as if my glasses had turned off, but not quite.
To correct this, I needed to dial back the convergence a bit (the scene still had pretty good 3D sense of depth, but the doubling was diminished). I don't quite understand what happened, and whether it was the game's fault, or my computer was just playing up (maybe my convergence had somehow jumped to a super-high level on its own? I dunno)
