3D vision Driver Error
  2 / 3
Ah... Yeah, sorry being dumb. I just assumed that the wired glasses still needed the dongle to unlock nvidia 3D (as usually you need that dongle to activate nvidia 3D. Have you tried another usb port?

Also annoyingly i found an nvidia helpsite sith this problem, but lost it and can't find it again. It was to do with removing the driver for the glasses in the device setting (usb hub) in settings. If you can find that page that guide could help as it was explicitly for wired glases

There is a light on the USB lit up green when i have the glasses plugged in if that's what you mean. Didn't have it before when i had it in another USB port. I'm still getting the error though about the Vision USB driver not being installed.

http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2582 maybe this could help. Its basically the same problem. I would think that either there was a driver failure on the glasses(but the sweep should have cleared that) or the glasses are faulty. If the above link doesn't work, think about getting a refund.

Another little tip i read is to set it to 3D discover and do a test, then set it back to nvidia 3D... I doubt it would work, but apparently has for others.

I don't have that in my device manager. The nvidia stereoscopic 3d usb controller anywhere.

If the glasses were broken and not communicating with the pc, could be the case. When you click in the usb glasses, do you hear that donk sound windows make to alert you a new device has been plugged in?

Dude, found your problem. It's a no go. You need the emitter from what I have read. ' In this case, only NVIDIA 3D Vision wireless glasses can be used with 3D Vision Ready monitors with built-in IR emitters' Taken from the nvidia website. It would appear that wired glasses only work with inbuilt emittors although the wording is weird. Can anyone clarify if that is the case? Looking at amazon.com. It says the same thing.

No, i looked at stuff about the glasses and ready it didn't do that. The light turns light green which means the driver is detected. No light means no driver detected/not working. Full green means it's in use.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0055NDF3G http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/buy-wired-3d-glasses-uk.html The tethered NVIDIA 3D Vision glasses work with NVIDIA 3D Vision laptops and NVIDIA 3D Vision AIO PCs If you are sure the wired glasses should work, then I can't help any more. It sounds like either 1) its not compatible with your system or newer drivers Or 2) your glasses are broken.. Sorry I couldn't fix your problem! Maybe someone else can help, but if you bought these glasses I would ask for a refund and get another pair or a wireless pair (as they definitly work) and 3D gaming is amazing!

They work for all 3D vision ready stuff such as monitors, laptops, AIO's. "Designed for use with any 3D-Vision Ready displays including Desktop LCD Monitors, Notebooks, All-in-one PCs, projectors, and DLP® HDTVs."

Fair enough, as I said the wording was weird. I can't help any more though unfortunately. I Think you may just have a dud pair of glasses.

Yeah, im guessing something is off on the glasses. Got these from Ebay fairly new, so opened a return request. Just have to buy a new pair of the wireless kits on my next paycheck. Hate waiting for stuff, haha :/ Really wanted to use these today. Thanks anyways for every ones help.

It will be worth the wait. If your new to 3D gaming, it's a flippin blast. Don't forget to add helixmod to your site list. Many games look like poop until you use that sites fixes (which are super easy to install). Good luck with your refund!

Doesn't seem too likely that the glasses are broken, they are pretty simple. Always possible of course. Go to Device Manager, do you see any yellow exclamation signs? (indicating bad installs.) On my system under Universal Serial Bus controllers I have a driver: "NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D USB controller" That's probably the driver that is missing. After doing the clean install and registry clear, when you plugged in the glasses did you get the "installing driver" popup? This seems like a conflict between your Syncmaster and the glasses to me. The Syncmaster has a built in infra-red emitter, which does the same job as the little NVidia pyramid emitter. Both are connected by USB. (This is what I use, for reference) Your wired glasses also have an 'emitter' installed, in that they do not require a pyramid to work properly. They do the sync internally, using USB instead of infrared. So, since you have two sync emitters attached, it seems like it might be confused. If this theory is right, try disconnecting the USB from your syncmaster, so that it cannot see that other emitter. The display will still run at 120Hz. You will need to reinstall the drivers once again. Also, delete the NVidia temp directory, C:/Nvidia, as there are numerous reports of that causing install failures.
