BIOSHOCK 2 Patched! Per 2K forums.

It sucks that PC games are rarely released with first day buyers in mind. I understand that you cannot find every bug in a game but a lot of the bugs being reported on the forums are too obvious to forgive. I will set this game aside until they patch it again.

In other news, I tried Mount and Blade in 3D today and it is fantastic. Tomb Raider Underworld as well. I guess I'll play these during the weekend.
Mount and Blade is great. I also played Dark Void for the first time today. It is excellent in 3d (almost perfect) and actually fun. I actually think it is a game that wouldn't be half as good in 2d.

In any case, I have plenty of games to play until Bioshock gets properly patched.
I think the flashing stuff is more driver oriented. I rolled back from betal 196.34 to whql 196.21 and the artifacts reduced considerably ... but not totally. I will keep playing with drivers until I find one that likes. I may see what happens with 182.50 ... those were also so reliable in everything except physx titles.

Good luck! I'm going to wait for the custom crosshair as the current one is pretty distracting depending on the weapon.
Well, I havn't gotten that far to have anything but the rivet gun. So far its okay ... okay ... not good. Like I said somewhere else. Playing at minimum depth really ... doesnt do 3D justice.

And as far as 182.50 fixing the artifacting ... I will never know ... can't install 3d Vision drivers with that driver :( Off to try one of the 185s or something

I might have to try that Dark Void. I don't have plenty of games to play until they patch BS2 ... just ME2 ... and I want a patch for that more than BS2! ... B ... S ... 2 lol

Well, so far I havn't found a driver where there are no polygon artifacts popping on screen, but I found one that isnt half bad. 195.81 has the least so far. I might see one every 5 - 10 minutes.

I refuse to play any game in S3D where I have to keep depth at a minimum. That ruins the 3D effect for my tastes. Guess I might be waiting a long while to play this game apparently.

Sadly it's true. :( With min depth most stuff at any considerable distance doesnt look 3D at all.

Are there different versions of the game out there? So far 3 of my colleagues are reporting that the 3d in Bioshock works flawless with no patch installed whatsoever (two of them are professional reviewers). I asked about shadows, about crosshairs, issues with atmospheric effects etc. and they all said everything works just fine. Just as good as Batman or Avatar in fact, and nothing has to be turned off in the settings either.

Well, I used to use these but quit cause I didnt like how they performed in Batman AA ... my phsyx card will downclock on them and the game will start running at 10-15 fps lol. Newer ones I can force full clocks.

how do you guys not notice the physics animations running at half or a quarter of the framerate in bioshock and bioshock 2? That's what always broke the game for me. Kill someone, and suddenly their body starts moving around all choppily and breaks any immersion I had built up.

Glad I didn't buy this stinker. Can't even fix the widescreen, after the first game had the same issue? Textures somehow look WORSE, aside from the passing of time? Amazingly sloppy work, right there.

They have not even fixed the widescreen cropping in this patch, let alone the 3d.
I have a 360, ps3 and pc, and the pc is getting the raw end of the deal on nearly every game nowadays, unless it is made by capcom.

Not really. Still got a lot of people who do good for PC. Valve being a big positive for PC.

Also Capcom (already mentioned) and surprisingly EA is usually pretty good.

EA has gotten A LOT better lately. To the point where I no longer have to black list anything they release anymore. :D
