Nvidia 3D Vision/3DTV Bluray doesn't work in PowerDVD17 Windows 10 1709 Fall Creators 387.92
  2 / 4
Same issue here with 3D bluray not working anymore, after Windows updating to Fall Creators. I've tried to reinstall the latest nvidia drivers, even with a clean install, but nothing has changed. GTX 970, PowerDVD10 (just updated too).

I have the same problem, after Windows updating to 1709, my PowerDVD 16 and 17 can't play 3DTV, updating for newest drivers 388.18 did not help. After installing older driver version it does not work too and I have had crash switching 3D in nvidia control panel, clean reinstal other drivers do not help! Sorry for my English, I am from Ukraine.)

I have exactly the same as the above post! Fress install Windows 10 Fall Creators version 1709, installed newest drivers and no option to set the 3D on. Installed older drivers and option was there but keeps crashing when trying to enable it.

You can skip the 3D setup and crash by modifying the registry. Easy to do with https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/986926/3d-vision/3d-fix-manager-application-for-installing-3d-vision-fixes-hotkey-editing-support/ or http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2015/10/advanced-3d-vision-configuration.html

I mean even if it doesn't show in NVPanel, is it still usable?

Well I don't know about that. I was just giving advice on how to skip the crash if the 3D option is there in the first place :P

Fall Creators Update v.1709. GTX980, i7-6700K. An earlier driver installed with the update is bogus, and does not work at all with 3D Vision, even though the 3D Vision driver was installed. Crash at Setup 3D. After working, the simple nvidia logo Test Stereoscopic would only run in 2D. Updated to 388.13. This includes a new 3D Vision Driver with the same version. This version works to step through the Setup wizard, Test Stereoscopic works, games work. Your life is still going to suck if you are using 1709 because of these sorts of random Win10 incompatibilities, but at least 3D Vision is back to working. Why am I bothering? FCU is required for "mixed reality" headsets. Even though it's just an app using bluetooth. Microsoft is just abusive.

The Windows game is not as fun. When I update my older machine to unsupported CPU, I'll probably run Win7 without security patches, because that's not how security breaches happen anymore. Right now I'm quintuple booting. I have two machines, my main gaming rig with older hardware has dual boot of Win7 and Win10 FCU. Second machine is powerful gaming laptop, with triple boot of Win7, Win10 AE, Win10 FCU. We have to support Win10 because a lot of people are force-fed the OS by Microsoft. I'm not happy about being forced to do things. AE is OK, once you replace that absolutely heinous Start menu. FCU is a piece of shit. Microsoft has lost the ability to ship quality code.
