No stereo effect with nVidia stereo drivers
I have tried some games with the nVidia 3D Vision drivers, and none of them gives a 3D effect. My computer also has the iz3D drivers installed, and those games work perfectly with the iz3D drivers. Here's a list of the games I tried: - [url=http://oldunreal.com/]OldUnreal, version 227i[/url]: flat picture, no 3D effect (it works with the iz3D drivers) - [b]Duke Nukem Forever[/b]: crashes to desktop while loading a level (it works with the iz3D drivers) - [b]Quake 3, with the OpenGL to Direct3D wrapper GLDirect[/b]: flat picture, no 3D effect (it works with the iz3D drivers) - [b]nullDC, version 1.0.0 beta 1.6[/b]: flat picture, no 3D effect (it only moves the flat picture in front of the screen with the iz3D drivers, but it does give a 3D effect on a Windows XP system with legacy XP stereo drivers from nVidia: in fact, in 2008 I had used that XP machine to beta test the stereoscopic plugin and shader and report the results to the author of the emulator) - [url=http://devilmaster.altervista.org/tadpsid.html]TADPSID[/url]: flat picture, no 3D effect (it works with the iz3D drivers) I display them on a Sony HMZ-T1 head-mounted display, which tells me that "a 3D video mode is active" every time I launch one of those games, but despite this, the image is absolutely flat. Moreover, the iz3D exclusion list also contains the nVidia 3D test application, which does work fine with the nVidia drivers. Also, how can I decide which 3D mode to choose? Right now, HDMI 3D is chosen automatically, but I also want to try side-by-side 3D (which is what I use with the iz3D drivers and works perfectly). And what are the controls to modify convergence and separation? Right now, almost everything is disabled in the stereo 3D setup screen. The only things that are enabled are the checkbox to enable or disable stereo 3D, a link to "nVidia 3D Play" and the drop-down list to run the test application, the guided installation or the diagnostic image. Good Day Devil Master 1) Please update to the latest Drivers. 2) Most OPENGL games will not work with Nvidia 3D Vision. They stopped supporting them when they moved from "legacy" devices and drivers. The Exception to this is Doom BFG Ed which is Opengl but implements 3D natively. Games that use the Opengl to Dx wrapper need to be DX9 for it to work with 3Dvision/3Dtv play 3) The HMZ-T1 requires 3DTVPlay (Or the original 3D Vision Emmitter) and with this option you either get 720p @60 hz per eye or 1080p at 24 hz per eye.

No. In fact, there are no head-mounted displays at all in that list. But Youtube provides video of people successfully using the HMZ-T1 with the nVidia 3D Vision drivers, so I'm assuming it can be used.

I've known that since the first stereo drivers for Vista came out. I got pretty mad when I discovered that. :-P
Only a little later I discovered the wrapper, which, I know for sure, translates the OpenGL calls to Direct3D 9 calls.

I've googled 3DTVPlay, and it turns out that the 3D Vision drivers do not support 3D in the HDMI format, and that I need 3DTVPlay to view 3D software in HDMI format, on my HMD :-(
But what about other 3D modes? The HMZ-T1 also supports side-by-side mode, and in fact, that is what I use with the iz3D drivers. How do I enable that with the 3D Vision drivers?

(And in case you wonder why I want to use the 3D Vision drivers when the iz3D drivers already do the job: it's because I want to compare their performances.)

Devil Master : 1) You are still on the 200 series of drivers. Currently the most recent Driver is 314.22. Generally it's good policy to Upgrade to the most recent stable version. I have a HMZ-T1 and the 3D vision emitters (I have two kits), and it works fine for 3D using the "3DTVplay functionality) both 3D vision and 3D play are bundled together, but you either need to pay to activate it, or hook up the 3D emitter to activate it. 3DTVPlay has a free trial also. Now only game on your list I have played is Duke Nukem Forever. Do note if you don't have 3DTVPlay activated in some way or form you will still get told that the 3D is active on the HMZ-T1 because it defaults to 3D blu ray mode. Basically if you have a 3D blu ray player (software) and the Nvidia video card you can watch 3D movies at 1080p@24 fps per eye. But to play games you need the 3DTVPlay activated in some way or form.

After reading your reply, I need to ask:
1) do the 3D Vision drivers, by themselves support any other 3D mode, besides an incomplete support of the HDMI 1.4 standard?
2) do they automatically decide which modes to unlock, depending on what kind of video device they detect (so in this case they detect the HMZ-T1 as a 3D HDMI TV and they only unlock the HDMI 1.4 3D standard, for which you are supposed to buy 3DTVPlay even though the HMZ-T1 supports many other 3D modes)?

1) It supports Nvidia's proprietary Stereoscopic 3D with a 3D Vision Emitter, and a 3D Vision Compatible Monitor ( the 120hz output Monitors) HDMI 1.4 is only supported for 3D TVs and a few HDMI 1.4 compatible 3D monitors. 2) I only have the emitter and I didn't buy the 3DTVPlay. On my system it automatically detects the mode depending on what type of device is set as the primary display.
