Need for Speed 2016 - 3D Vision
  3 / 5
Imo there is no Z-buffer access on ReShade 3 SuperDepth3D. It's not compatible / no depth map / no 3D. It does not work for me. There is a recommendation to use DM4 (depth map 4) for NFS but there is not depth. I tried to create my own DM but no way, no depth. https://github.com/BlueSkyDefender/Depth3D/blob/master/Game_Settings.txt Btw. NFS sale for 15 bucks https://www.origin.com/deu/en-us/store/need-for-speed/need-for-speed/standard-edition

For Nvidia 3D Vision compatiblity mode I've added nfs16.exe to the "Star Wars Battlefront" profile (Nvidia Inspector). Additionally, I've activated compatibility mode (Geforce 3D Profile Manager) based on the following instructions: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/883659/star-wars-battlefront-2015-3d-vision-thread/ Both games use Frostbite engine. CM mode looks great in Need for Speed as well. -> 2D no fun -> 3D much fun

Update: The 3D Vision shader fix for SW Battlefront works for Need for Speed as well. Compatiblity mode (Z-buffer) and real stereo 3D (geometry 3D). Aaaawesome ;-) https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/883659/star-wars-battlefront-2015-3d-vision-thread/

^^^ Wait, so does this mean it's working in real 3D now? Do I need to change the NFS profile to SW Battlefront in NV Inspector? Or no? Many thanks!

Hello WarLordY! I changed profile to SW Battlefront and copied fix files to directory but 3d looks bad. Can You post steps what you take and game setting ? Here is pic how it looks to me:

I use the highest settings. The 3D quality is perfect and super intense (geometry 3D). If your system is too weak, so use the compatiblity mode because it looks good, too. Attention: The "Stars: Wars Battlefront (2015)" profile made by Nividia will NOT work (graphics issues) the same for the Need for Speed profile made by Nvidia. You need to swap the SW Battlefront profile manually as described by Helifax in the SW Battlefront thread: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/883659/star-wars-battlefront-2015-3d-vision-thread/ 1. Install Need for Speed. 2. Extract the Star Wars Battlefront 3D Vision fix into your NFS folder. 3. Swap the "Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)" profile with the profile created by Helifax (app: GeForce 3D settings profile manager) 4. Add NFS16.exe to the "Stars: Wars Battlefront (2015)" profile (app: NV Inspector). 5. Start Need for Speed, start a race, adjust the 3D convergence and you will love the game ;-)

Thanks WarLordY for the additional clarification. Unfortunately it is not working for me either. Something has changed however, because when in Stereo 3D mode it displays the menus in 3D and the car wheels and tires in 3D, but nothing else. So modifications have taken some effect, but not in a good way. I have installed the HelixMod fix for Battlefront in my Nvidia .exe folder. I have modified the Battlefront profile using the profile manager. I have removed the NFS .exe from the NFS profile in NVidia Inspector, and added the .exe to the Battlfront profile in Inspector. I have disabled Origin in-game. I'm at a loss for what else to do.

Bumping this just to keep it from heading into obscurity... Anyone have any ideas on my quandary listed above? Is there some obscure thing that I needed to do that is second-nature to most 3D gamers and I can't remember what it is? Many thanks

Thank You WarLordY, now it works :) @ SnickerSnack did you disabled Vsync and Antialiasing and after that try to restart game, because now it look like this:

^^^ I'm at work now and can't try until tonight. Does Vsync and AA make the difference whether 3D kicks in properly or not? CM mode works fine other than halos at certain angles, but I'm just not satisfied with it. When I change to stereo 3D (after applying the fix outlined above) the only thing rendering in 3D are tires and wheels. Everything else is 2D which, of course, is super weird.

Yes Vsync and AA need to be off before you run the game otherwise 3d kicks in with strange effects.

Welp, it's still not working. I dunno... I have disabled AA and V-sync in the graphics options in-game and I have also ensured that they aren't still activated on the NVCP level. Here's what I'm getting: Notice the fuggled text on the loading screen - all of the text is like that. Also, you don't even have to go cross-eyed for the second pic - the wheels/tires are doubled in each side and one is light and the other dark. Sigh, any ideas? To reiterate, here's what I have done: Exported my profiles using NVidia Profile Inspector ---> replaced the Star Wars Battlefront (2015) profile with the one from the Star Wars Battlefront thread. ----> Imported the profile document using NV Profile Inspector. Downloaded the shader fix from the same thread and extracted it into Need for Speed 2016 folder, specifically the one with the binaries. I have used NVidia Inspector to remove nfs16.exe from the NFS 2016 profile, and added the nfs16.exe to the Star Wars Battlefront 2015 profile. I have double checked that Origin in-game is disabled. I have double checked that V-sync and AA are both turned off. .... Have I missed anything or done something wrong? Thanks
