Automatic Screenshots for 3D Vision
  1 / 2
Hello there, I wonder if anyone has a sulution for the following problem: Some applications exit when pressing a key. With 3D Vision it seems impossible to take a screenshot from such an application. Using the program "Killkeys" doesnt help because its also blocks the keys for the 3d Vision screenshot function. ( Windows 7). "An Automatic Screenshot function" may be like every 2 or 5 seconds could help and some tools can do that, but for 3D vision there seems to be no solution. May be a hack or so ? RJ

When pressing any key or a specific key? Any key might be hard to do unless I can figure out some obscure key that won't trigger the app... what 3D apps are we talking about here? Personally for games that don't work well with the default(Alt+F1) I use/made an AHK script that remaps it to another key/button temporarily while it's running and then restores it when it exits. A timer would be fairly easy to do but again it would probably need to use some obscure key that somehow doesn't trigger the app...

You can rebind the key http://3dvision-blog.com/3053-modifying-all-3d-vision-control-key-combinations-as-you-need/ There's also an app that has a rebind feature https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/827162/

Fortunately i found 1 key which did not make the app exit so at least i can take screenshots now :-) Still cant configure stereo seperation like in a normal application, but that tool helps a little there. One funny thing, on WIN XP the stereo config keys were still working while "Killkeys" disabled keys for an application. Thanks for the Links, that Table was very helpful, you can even configure one single key for a function...

If you are using the pyramid, you can dial the separation with the wheel on the back. If you hold the button on the front, and turn the dial, it changes convergence. So, no keys necessary for that method.

Hello guys i just ran into another problem. I can not record a video sequence from the application with Geforce experience because the only key i can use is "PRINT". Experience doesnt allow to use the "PRINT" key. In WIN XP i used the tool "Killkeys" which allowed my to block keys within the app but still having them availiable for the stereo drivers so i was able to use them for screenshots ect. Now on WIN 7 "Killkeys" blocks the keys systemwide. And in Experience you only can store the video by pressing a key. Automatic saving does not exist. anyone knows help ?

You'd have to pay me to install GFE... Lol. I'm not sure where it stores the bindings for recording but I'd try installing AutoHotKey, saving the following as something.ahk, run it and then try remapping the record button in GFE to F24 using the PrintScreen key...
SetKeyDelay, 100, 100 PrintScreen::F24
If it works, you can remap it to something else in the script... if not, you can try lowering the function key number.

I tried that, now GFE accepts the printkey but the application to capture does not (exits) :-/

So what's the name of the game/application? If I have it I can try to figure out another obscure key that won't make it exit...

You might be able to launch it from GFE, not sure if that'd help or not...
