So that is what they gonna call it:
" Supports new “3D Compatibility Mode” for 3D Vision that enables us to improve the 3D experience for many key DirectX 10 and 11 games "
Link works for me, though it's for the Arabic version of the driver.
Looks like this is the driver that will bring in the new DirectX changes that Nvidia have been talking about - their 'answer to Mantle' as it were. Interestingly, they don't mention the performance on BF4 or Thief, which are the games they were previously using in comparisons.
Looks like the benefits are mainly in CPU-bound games. 64% in Rome 2! Finding 25% in Skyrim after all this time is pretty good too.
Not particularly exciting from a 3Dvision standpoint though

Its kind of funny but when someone becomes the "top dog" as far as electronics is concerned. It seems there is no innovation till they "have to". Like Microsoft threatened by -> sony/valve. Nvidia -> AMD.

Definitely. Intel -> AMD is of course another good example.
It's great seeing how proactive Nvidia has become since AMD started being competitive recently. The question is, will the VR craze do anything to push Nvidia in the 3D department? Maybe this recent "3D compatibility mode" is evidence that Nvidia are moving (albeit with baby steps) in the 3D front as well.
The download link is dead, it can't work for you!
Misunderstanding. The link you provided works. The download link on that page doesn't. (Though I'll add that it's been 7th of April for almost 15 hours over here)

Exactly, the technology always had the ability/capacity to perform better; but without pressure from competition they were going to do jack about improving their drivers.
