Is it just me or Nvidia 3D vision only has 5 feet wireless range?
My spec
i7 2600k
gtx 580 sli
windows 7 64 bit
nvidia 270.61 driver
acer hn274h 27 inch 3d monitor

Is it just me or nvidia 3d vision only has 5 feet wireless range for 3d mode? It just starts to shutter very bad whenever I go more than 5 feet away from my monitor. As most of you already know, this acer hn274h monitor has built in IR emitter. Is it just me having this problem or is it for everyone? or is this just monitor problem? When I am within 5 feet range of my monitor, everything works perfect but when I try to go further away to watch 3D movie, 3D vision glass starts to shutter really bad or just exit 3D blind mode. According to spec, 3D vision should have 25 feet wireless range or something.

Not just you, I get the same crap with my acer H5360 projector though I'm using the actual Nvidia 3d-vision IR emitter. It's driven me to the point of buying some DLP-Link glasses to bypass the nvidia solution. What I've noticed is this: when setting up 3d-vision and I select the standard computer room setting the range is very large yet prone to dropping. The other settings for an environment with other IR devices drastically reduce the range but make the signal very strong (though the signal starts intermittently dropping out once the 3d-glasses batteries reach 50% and gets progressively worse as it continues to drop.

The room is completely light controlled with no other IR devices in operation.

What setting did you use in the Wizzard? I'm using this "Single-PC in Room" setting.

My Room is 4x5 meters, the walls are painted white.
And the glasses nearly shutter in the whole room correctly(I guess the IR-Signals are reflected by the walls, cause I don't have free sight to the emitter when walking around). So there are more than 5 feet possible.
Maybe your walls are painted black or the emitter is faulty /unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> .

I am 12 feet away from my emitter and it works flawlessly. I have it on the #2 setting, some IR devices.

Do you have a wireless mouse or other IR device that may be emitting interference? Do you have a clear path from your emitter? How do you even get it to use the monitor and why dont you just use the emitter?

I just walked 30ft away from my NVIDIA emitter and it worked fine. (The TV above my computer sure looks funky with the glasses going!)

For me it'll be seemingly fine, but it'll lose sync fairly often at that distance (to me often is twice every 10 minutes) Not terrible but still enough to break the immersion value of using 3d-vision. Tis quite possible my glasses and/or emitter are just gimped but I just decided to skip the hassle of warranty replacement and get €40 DLP glasses that work 100% of the time.

It didn't work. No matter what setting I use, 120hz, 110hz, 100hz, 50hz.. it shutters like crazy when I walk away more than 5 feet from my monitor. Is it because of lights in my room or what? I only have 2 bulb stand light in my room and even if I turn them off, it's still same. I have no other IR device in my house beside this. :(
