I thank DSS and Helifax very much for this fix - it makes the game outstanding. However, I get much more frequent crashes and fatal errors when 3d is enabled and I'm not sure why?
The only possible thing I can think of is that my PSU isn't cutting the mustard - my GPU gets to around 70% in 3d and CPU around 55% (so not overheating) but I wonder if an extra 10% on each from 2d performance and the fans on the GPU spinning up and the case/CPU fans spinning faster are stressing my wattage and causing the game to crash? I have a 550W PSU (but only Aerocool, not a particularly good brand). Has anyone else every experienced this and is the PSU a possible culprit?
This is actually one of the games that never crashed on me, unless I was crashing it. Not sure what the problem lies, but I can say is not the game or the fix that introduces this. Sounds like a general system stability problem on your end :(
All I can suggest is that you make some benchmarking on your system and see what might be the issue!

I know it's not the game, because it doesn't crash in 2d. And I'm pretty sure it's not the fix because this has happened in other games, just not as frequently. Only time my system ever hangs is under gaming load - did it with the 760 and now (less often) with the 1080. Memtest reports no errors, so it's not RAM. It has to be software or the PSU. Guess I can reinstall windows and, if it's still flaky, buy a bigger/better PSU.

Finally I had some free time today and tried to play the game. Unfortunately game doesn't work with 3DV fix for me. Game doesn't even start, closes itself instantly (no visible exe in the task manager). Tried with both 3DV monitor and 3DTV and no change.
Without 3DV fix it works without an issue. I triple checked instructions and everything else, but no luck.
I tried the latest driver and still the same.
Things I tried:
- Clean driver installation
- Closing MSI Afterburner
- Starting game with different resolutions
- Verify game files and reinstalling.
There are people with some problems but none of them has the same issue with me so I'm guessing it's a specific issue to my system.

Game looks not correct to me. Some Shadow or Lightning problem.

Tried more things but still no luck, here's some illegal update about my issue: :)
Downloaded a crack and with 3DV fix it gave "d3dcompiler_47.dll" can't found error. So I put the dll to the game exe folder and this time it gave "0xc000007b" error. Tried without 3DV fix again and it worked.
At least I can get an error code with crack. :)

d3dcompiler_47.dll error you have to install this: (Just choose the right OS.)
http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4019990
I've W7 SP1 x64, NV 388.43, with Afterburner and Rivatuner lauched with OSD, no problem.
You have to install all Redistribuable (usually in Redist folder of the game), like DX and all C++ parts (2010, 2012, 2015, ect). Even try to install x86 one... It could help.

Thanks a lot Dugom, it worked. Installing the KB4019990 patch fixed the issue, now game launches with 3DV fix.
Before installing the patch, I ran the Windows update, but it didn't find this update, also checked previous updates, none of them installed this patch (I think last time I used the Windows update was three months ago). WTH Microsoft, what's your "Windows Update" is good for!
Also, WTH Steam/Hellblade, why don't you give the same error as the cracked exe.
Now I can enjoy this game in peace. :)

So, touch wood, I got the crashes fixed in 3d - no idea why this works but in this directory:
\AppData\Local\HellbladeGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
I added
[/script/engine.audiosettings]
bDisableMasterEQ=true
to Engine.ini
I set anti aliasing to 0 in Engine.ini, GameUserSettings.ini and Scalability.ini (not sure that matters, just wanted to stress 3d performance less) and then, most importantly, I made those 3 files read only.

Uninstall the fix and copy it again.
Make sure that the files are "intact" after you copy them. the "Beeps/Boops" means you have an "invalid" d3dx.ini file.
