I really want to try some air combat with 3D Vision, but I haven't been able to enable 3D mode. Hitting the hotkey in the game does nothing. Tried switching the hotkey in the 3D Vision control panel to a key unused by IL-2, no dice.
I have IL-2 set up to run in DirectX mode. What else do I need to do to get it running with 3D Vision?
Try iZ3D driver! It nicely supports IL-2.
IL-2 with S3D is very wonderful, nevertheless little glitch it has.
I'm using a anaglyph mode of iZ3D, I don't know if iZ3D supports nvidia's shutter glasses.
Thanks, but the IZ3D driver doesn't work with 3D Vision.
I use a PJ (VS PJD6211) and sit about 10 foot away from the screen and the Plane is on my lap......probably the best pop out i've seen on a PJ thus far.

I am very impressed with the 3D on this.

I know this is an old thread but I'd like to know if we can enable support for IL2 1946 also.
No offense, but heroes over europe is an arcade flight game, not the full on WW2 sim that IL2 is - frankly it's probably the only one that matters, but I'm happy to have someone recommend anything better.

***OK; here is how you do it. You have to install the IZ3D Driver. Run the IZ3D settings and make sure:
1. Set to "Enable by Hotkey" (you can leave as Anaglyph mode)
2. Select PROFILES then GAME TAB... Make sure WINDOW MODE is set to FULL SCREEN (this is the key)
3. Uncheck "Show Wizard" or if the wizard comes up just hit "C" and you will see it set to disabled then relaunch game.
4. Of course make sure the game is set to DirectX not OpenGL
For some reason IL-2 1946 launches but 3D Vision doesn't see it 'fullscreen' so you aren't able to switch to 3D. The IZ3D driver somehow overrides this and voila; why NVIDIA driver doesn't do this automatically is beyond me.

I'm hoping there's a way to 'force' 3D on IL-2.
