Trine 2

Great news about the patch, I wonder whether it reaches depth in the amounts of 0.6, I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Thanks , tried that but alas no it did'nt work, no matter what, sli does'nt go over 55% in 3d although it works fine in normal 2d sli and in 3d with tridef, just seems tobe locked at 55% for some strange reason.

Hey mocca! This worked for me:

Install nvidia inspector, then click on the little tool icon to open the profiles window. Find the Trine profile. Then at the top of the window, click on the "add application to profile" button. Then locate your Trine2_32bit.exe and add it. Done! gave me full SLI and instantly doubled my framerate. with AA maxed got 95% GPU usage on both cards at 60fps!! /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

God knows, tried multiple drivers, everything else works but 3dvision/sli and this game is having none of it for me.
Thanks for the tip though, it was well recieved :)

I don't know how long the demo for this has been available, but there is a demo available now.....definitely check it out if you haven't already.

All I can say is wow, Trine 2 probably deserves a new rating category like '3D Vision Masterpiece' as '3D Vision Ready' just doesn't do this game justice. Everything is perfect in 3D and its obvious the devs hand-tailored the settings and designed the levels so you can use max seperation values and still maintain very comfortable viewing. Biggest thing I noticed right away was much more depth in every scene, both into the distance and in front of the main action layer.

Big kudos to FB and their devs (hiekkama) for such a perfect implementation of 3D. I look forward to your future efforts with hopefully more similarly stunning games in 3D. :)

One thing I noticed, and also with Trine 1, does this game support rumble on Xbox 360 wireless? I made sure rumble was enabled in the settings, but didn't seem to get any rumble effects. I believe the Knight should get rumble effects when blocking, or when large rocks are rolling around the screen.

I completely agree.

Someone mentioned nVidia should use Trine 2 as a demo or bundle? Again, I completely agree.

I turned off 3D to see what how the other 99.9% live, and it is really quite underwhelming! This is the game to convert those 3D haters for sure. :)

I use motioinjoy and a ps3 controller set for xbox360 emulation in wireless mode and rumble works just fine, I'll have to check about specific effects and get back to you, but I don't think there is rumble when blocking.

Yeah I'd agree it should be bundled with any of the 3D Vision products as a showcase title. But I thought you might come around with regard to the graphics in 2D vs. 3D. /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> Its just not nearly as impressive without the 3D effects, but in 3D its amazing and really demonstrates the importance of that 3rd dimension.

Yes, especially if you like the kind of synthetic/cartoony/hologram effect you get in certain games. It just really tickles your brain. What separates Trine 2 however is not just the quality of the 3D, but also how its fully integrated even with the UI elements, contxtual pop-ups, subtitles, mouse cursor, story cut-scenes. Also, the level design and interactive objects/puzzles clearly had 3D in mind as its all just very cleverly done even though most of the action is occurring on a static 2D plane.

Overall though it will still come down to whether you enjoy this kind of side-scrolling puzzle platformer. In that regard, you may still enjoy Batman AC, Skyrim, Witcher 2, BF3 etc. more, but in terms of pure 3D effect and use of 3D, Trine 2 is the best example I've seen by a good bit.

But as I mentioned, there is now a fully playable demo available on Steam; I think the download is just under 1GB. I'll buy the full version eventually, but I'll be honest and say I'm just not terribly fond of these type of platformers and still have to play through the 1st one first.

Just downloaded the demo. WHOAH!!! Holy **** this game is beautiful!! Dare I say it's the best looking game of 2011?? Seriously, the game is polished to the hilt! The special effects and lighting are simply AMAZING!! I want the disc, so I'm ordering it from the UK.

Hot damn! Another STUNNING 3D adventure game!

Well, I checked and I am getting rumble when being hit, not when blocking, yet nothing specific to falling rocks and environmental effects, but you should be getting something overall, if you're not, then it's probably not working for you.

As for rumble, it should work. There seem to be issues with some pads, though. Does it help if open %APPDATA%/Trine2/options.txt (just copy-paste that path explorer) and change line
setOption(inputModule, "VibrationForceMultiplier", 1)
to have some higher value, such as 2. It supports values up to 5.
