I have asus vg236h monitor and bundled 3d vision glasses!
how can I watch 3d content on my monitor ? do I need a blu ray player and 3d vision video player?
I dont know where to begin!
Ive checked 3dvisionlive.com site and looked at 3d pictures etc!
watched a few of there videos mostly standard quality not that amzing really!
can someone tell me what I need to get the best from 3d vision!
If you have watched 3dvisionlive then I assume you have setup 3d correctly, so you should be ready to go. In the nVidia control panel make sure you turn on the 'advanced' keyboard shortcuts (Stereoscopic 3D->Set keyboard Shortcuts->Show advanced in game settings->Check box for Enable advanced in game settings). And make sure "Hide stereoscopic 3d effects...' checkbox is unchecked.
Then you need to play games. This is where 3D Vision is best.
You should just be able to just start a game and as long as it is DX9-11 it should render in stereo3d. But that's where the fun starts, because few games are perfect out of the box like that and require depth and convergence tweaks. Some games are not suited to 3D Vision since they render things in 2D and this 'looks all wrong' and possibly hurts your eyes/brain. You need to check forums such as this to get advice on particular games (best to Google actually, as searching on this forum is terrible e.g. "<game name> 3D Vision" is the first thing I search for, and something on this forum usually crops up). Nvidias own rating for how good a game is is often a bit off, and is not really trustworthy.
Basically, you got just dive in.
Finally, games that are excellent in 3d Vision are Mafia2, Just Cause 2, Alice Madness Returns, Metro 2033, Skyrim (with some fixes), Most of the Tombraiders, BFBC2, Dirt3, Race07, Batman Arkham Asylum and City, Fallout New Vegas, Darksiders, LA Noire, Trine 2, Portal 2, Far Cry 2... and a whole list of others.

Some games "lock" convergence so it cannot be changed - checking these forums will tell you which ones. Basically convergence determines how far into or out of the screen objects will be. It's a bit more complicated than that, but that's the essence. Assuming you have enabled the buttons as I noted above under the advanced settings, in game press (and hold) Ctrl-F5 to 'decrease' convergence and make things seem further behind the screen, or press and hold Ctrl-F6 to make things seem further forward, and even to the extent that some 'close' objects 'pop-out' of the screen. There is no really correct value for convergence, its mostly personal preference EXCEPT were some games do not render well in stereo 3d and high convergence in particular can cause visual problems.
Now when you have set convergence (and depth) you need to press Ctrl-F7 to save the settings - it sounds like you did not do that last time.
Re Ghosting - there is a whole separate thread on these forums for your monitor, please go and check it out as I don't have that monitor. However, ghosting is a fact of life still since technology is not perfect, so please keep that in mind. Having said that some games (or some levels on some games) have worse ghosting in high contrast areas - in BFBC2 the snowy levels at the beginning are problematic for instance. There are some contrast tweaks you can do for monitors (I have done so for my Acer) but you don't get rid of the problems in all cases.
I recommend that after a short while you start to ramp up the depth to as high as you are comfortable, the 3D experience is much better. Don't let ghosting put you off, it actually becomes less noticeable (for me anyway) with high separation because it stops looking like a halo around objects and becomes more dispersed in the rest of the scene. Also remember that stereo 3D in games is very different to stereo 3D in movies - movies have both fixed depth and convergence, need to cater to the 'average' and always seem to have low depth. You are in control of your games settings (mostly).

This is a brand new system for you. Did you allow the glasses to get fully charged?
Another common fix is to fiddle around with the "IR Environment" setting.
Have you got an unobstructed view to the little emitter? If there's something in the way or if the emitter is pushed off to the side then that can mess with the signal.

Unless you like that orientation of course. For what its worth, i have almost totally started to ignore ghosting on my first generation 3DTV, which has a lot of it compared to the 2nd gens. I use 100% depth in all games on a 46" TV. The exact parameter behind the depth slider are not static i don't think and are determined by monitor size, althrough im not 100% sure. What important for a realistic 3D look is that your eyes are doing what they would do in real life. For things in the distance your eyes should stare almost straight on, for things close up and/or that pop out of the screen your eyes should cross a little bit obviously. It helps to take the glasses off and see the amount of image separation on the screen for things at various distances to help gauge what adjustment to make.

Excuse me if my english is bad, i just wanna ask this after i buy nvidia 3d vision 2 last month (but just arrived today @my country) and use it with LG 42LW4500 i just know that i only need 3DTV Play Software (Glassess uses from LG). Its okay though but i have another problem at my 3d glassess from nvidia, after i charge it full and i try too turn it on but after a few second its always turn back off. Is it okay or my 3d glassess damaged ? pls give me an explanation for this i will be gratefull. Thanks before and sorry if OOT

It's clearly not 'OK' if they are turning off... However, this thread is not the place to ask for advice, I suggest you contact nvidia tech/sales support. Only thing I can think of is to make sure the 3D emitter is in range of the glasses and is not partially or wholly covered up or hidden - it works through Infra Red and needs clear line of sight to work effectively.

im sorry if OOT but one more question, i found article that says

Ha! sorry for being new! yeah fully charged glasses I have the emitter sat on the base of my monitor nothing blocking Its path and when setting it up with the part that says have you any obstructions etc.. tv remotes,I pick the recomended one as I dont see any flickering.

Ha! sorry for being new! yeah fully charged glasses I have the emitter sat on the base of my monitor nothing blocking Its path and when setting it up with the part that says have you any obstructions etc.. tv remotes,I pick the recomended one as I dont see any flickering.

what do you mean by high separation it actually becomes less noticeable ? I heard that adjusting the convergence can help with ghosting?
Both separation and convergence affect ghosting. For any given game you may want to adjust both of them to reduce it. Personally I don't let ghosting influence my choice of depth or convergence - I set it so that stereo 3D is how I like, and I live with ghosting, which after a while I stop noticing.
Also to be clear, I was referring to how ghosting may be perceived (i.e. how annoying it is), not that it is actually 'reduced' (from a physical technology stand point). I also want to be clear that this is my personal view - others will disagree, but I think a halo around an object is worse than a second image (out of direct eye focus of the thing I am looking at) several cm away. But like I note, I don't really care about ghosting so much.

You really don't want to have to fix ghosting by lowering depth/convergence. That's essentially fixing the problem by turning 3D off.
This is a brand new system for you. Did you allow the glasses to get fully charged?
Another common fix is to fiddle around with the "IR Environment" setting.
Have you got an unobstructed view to the little emitter? If there's something in the way or if the emitter is pushed off to the side then that can mess with the signal.

Excuse me if my english is bad, i just wanna ask this after i buy nvidia 3d vision 2 last month (but just arrived today @my country) and use it with LG 42LW4500 i just know that i only need 3DTV Play Software (Glassess uses from LG). Its okay though but i have another problem at my 3d glassess from nvidia, after i charge it full and i try too turn it on but after a few second its always turn back off. Is it okay or my 3d glassess damaged ? pls give me an explanation for this i will be gratefull. Thanks before and sorry if OOT

It's clearly not 'OK' if they are turning off... However, this thread is not the place to ask for advice, I suggest you contact nvidia tech/sales support. and the image could be displayed abnormally in which case you may need to restart 3D Vision or 3D Play.

Ha! sorry for being new! yeah fully charged glasses I have the emitter sat on the base of my monitor nothing blocking Its path and when setting it up with the part that says have you any obstructions etc.. tv remotes,I pick the recomended one as I dont see any flickering.
