What's the poing of the maximum depth setting? + top of the monitor ghosting
So like the topic says, what's the point of the maximum depth setting? I find no matter what game I play, if I move the slider up that high the ghosting ruins the 3D experience (and yes, the LCD is warmed up and I'm gradually moving the slider up as I get used to the 3D effect).
Also, any word on a fix for the the ghosting that the Samsung 2233RZ seems to get at the top of the monitor? It's really ruining some games and I'm tempted to see if I can get a refund under warranty, and wait for the 24" 3D LCD's due out this month. I'm honestly quite surprised that the monitor was certified as 3D ready with the ghosting that nearly everybody seems to get at the top of the 2233RZ. While in some games you can ignore it, in others it's awful.
All that said, I'm absolutely loving the 3D so far. Just wish the reviews I read which encouraged me to buy 3D Vision mentioned the extreme ghosting at the top of the LCD!

All the bad rep in these forums about the Samsung really put me off getting 1 so im holding out for the Acer insted /sweat.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
But incase you havent noticed there is a huge discusion on the issue your talkking about here...... http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=89261
I havent read all the info and facts about the ghosting but in my veiw i think its the moniter, As some work and some dont. And Samsung have a habit of changing various manufacturer parts in their screens.
For example...... Currently i use the samsung 226BW 22" (not 3d) which i later found out had 3-4 differnt versions........ 1 of which was reviewd and tested to be a lot worse than the other models. ( a heavy use of the colour blue)
Not sure if its the same case for the 2233rz , but mabye there are differnt models of the 3d 2233rz. Some of which are lower quality? /ermm.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ermm:' />

I got 3D over Christmas and am using the Viewsonic. Ghosting is also a problem though I found two things have made a significant improvement: The latest drivers and altering the Hz. I've found 100Hz eliminates the worst of the ghosting (on games that are the worst offenders), while using convergence can also help (though i've found i've needed to do this less since I updated the lastest drivers).
I agree that that none of the reviews I read mentioned ghosting and there was no other choice in terms of available affordable VDU's anyway other than the Samsung and the Viewsonic (apart form CRT's).
A driver fix for the ghosting would be great - though overall I'm impressed with the 3D, there's no going back to 2D!

Well the thing is that ghosting is related to that LCD it seems. I have it and experience the same issue.
My DLP though I can push it as much as I want a zero ghosting.

Yeah, I've read all through that - I guess my thread was more about if people have actually had success using the maximum depth setting without much ghosting, as currently it's pretty awful.
I guess I may see if I can get a refund as the product as advertised certainly doesn't mention a crapload of ghosting being a feature. With any luck the viewsonic or the 24" LCD's due out soon will be better (although who knows how long it will take to get to Australia). Hopefully reviews for 3D vision with the 24" LCD's will be out soon.
