Hello everyone. I'm not here to argue, fight, or bicker. Also, I'm not trying to get on Nvidia's bad side. But on amazon I found some glasses and emitter that are supposed to work with 3D Vision desktops. They are RF. Now considering I'm going to use a 3D vision certified projector, I'd need the emitter extended and in front of me. I've already ordered a powered usb extender from monoprice. But, if the option to use RF was there, I'd like that option. I already know about the Vision PRO RF glasses and emitter for Quadro. I'm not talking about that. I have a GTX 580. Anyhow, I was wondering if any of you have heard of this, or have tried it? Does it work? Good? Here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004WWN3OW/ref=s9_simh_gw_p23_d0_g23_i3?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1CJGXKS54M9V1S07KM7B&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846 Also please note: I'm not talking about DLP link. They appear to be active shutter but not enough description.
[b]UPDATE: So, I sent a message to 3DTV Corp and asked questions about this. Here is the reply: "they work fine on my 5360! They work by RF not dlp link or IR and so need their own RF emitter and do NOT work with the nvidia emitter OR VV. However there is no such thing as products that work on pc's without problems! But we have sold over 200 so far and few returns. You do however have to use one particular driver version for the nvidia card and 3d vision and others may not work. For comparison the nvidia pro RF kit is about $700.

I'm not sure its ideal to only use a certain driver. Blah.

I'm wondering whether anybody has experience with these RF nVidia semi-compatible emitter and glasses. I'm thinking that the use of one specific driver is not that bad, ifit's a good driver. The driver version is 260.99. Does anyone know if that one was nice and stable?

I'm pretty sure those only work via a 3 pin connection port. When they were talking about it working with Nvidia, it was via a Quadro card, they have the 3 pin port. So they may work with some of the DLP TVs that had 3 pin sync connection ports, but only with older drivers if even then.
It specifically states on the Amazon page
"BUT The PC-RF kit will NOT WORK with some recent versions of nVidia drivers and so perhaps not with some of the most recent nvidia cards at all. In this case you can go back to a previous version of their 3D Vision Driver and an earlier card if you want to use this unique RF kit"
So unless you have a 3 pin connection somewhere in your chain of hardware, they will not work, no way, no how.

Plus given that new 3D profiles are only rolled out in new driver releases, only working with one particular driver would be an immediate none starter for me.

Thanks for the useful info. I'm new to nVidia 3d Vision. I actually have two cards I could use, a Quadro FX4600 or a Geforce GT240. I'd be only using it for movies, so games profiles wouldn't matter to me.
I didn't think the 3 pin VESA port would output 3d Vision. I thought that port was only for professional Quad Buffered Open GL applications. Am I correct in understanding that TMT5 and PowerDVD only support the USB emitter?

Thanks for the link. I've read it before, but didn't really comprehend it. From a fresh reading it appears that if you have a Quadro card you can connect either just USB or 3 pin Vesa and USB to the Nvidia Ir Emitter.
Am I correct?
Finally, I know the Quadro FX4600 is equivalent to an GTX8800 but the GT240 even though it's a budget card is much more recent. Am I right to use the 240 over the FX4600?
