How to start it :)

Hi I just bought a 3D monitor (BENQ XL2420TX) with nvidia 3D vision2 gkasses and I have a couple of question :D First - How the hell turn it on? XD I want to use is mainly for a gaming purpose and some games hasn't got an option to change nothing more than a resolution. I've been trying to use - CTRL+T in games but it shows no effects. Yes I downloaded drivers, yes I installed them and it works but every time when I want to use it I have to open nvidia control panel and change manualny to 3D 1080p ;/. Second - I'm looking for some good Video player for 3D. I tried nvidia's but when I change to fullscreen the movie is in 3D but it shows a narrow bar in the center on the screen even when I'm opening a 1080p clip. Pls help me :) I'm a nevble when it comes to 3D :D

Not all games will play in stereo3D. Most games that do play in stereo3D will have anomalies, some will not. Some of these Stereo3D games that have anomalies have a fix. Check for fixes at http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/07/game-list-full.html Also be sure to "set keyboard shortcuts" http://3dvision-blog.com/111-changing-the-convergence-level-in-3d-vision/ There's also 3D Compatibility Mode https://www.3dvisionlive.com/content/beta-driver-adds-new-3d-mode

Well, I wanted to play Diablo III and that game is supported. About keyboard shourtcuts - I can't turn it ON by pressing (default) CTRL+T. When I start a game in 3d by changing in nvidia panel - resolution - 3D 1080p, and then start a game I can use shourtcuts with no problem, but when I'm starting game in 2D and then I want to use 3D by pressing CTRL+T to change displey for 3D - nothing happens, have to quit and change in nvidia panel....

Have you enabled 3d in the nvidia control panel? Did the nvidia tests work?

DODO, I think the key here is that you say you have to go to Nvidia Panel / resolution, to select "3D 1080p" I don't think most of us need to do this. I'm at work and cannot check exact options, but I think there is a "set up stereovision" section in the Panel. Here you need to set the type of stereovision you want. For me, it mentions the Monitor name, and "3D Vision". Then you set up when you want stereovision to switch on. I usually use "Only when full screen 3D applications run". That's it. Whenever a game which supports 3D vision is started, my emmiter lights up and 3D vision starts. it's only at this point that you can turn it off and back on with Ctrl-T. It has to run first.

I think Diablo 3 has an advanced setting in the in-game ui panel that has a checkbox to enable 3D Vision, just like World of Warcraft. If it's unchecked, you can still get 3D to kick in. But it's doesn't default to 3D at launch. I haven't reinstalled Diablo 3 since reformatting, or else I'd check.

My emiter is also built-in. I don't have those two options (3D TV Play, and "checkerboard") so this may be related to the connection you have between the card and monitor. Are you using the normal PC connection (I think it's called DVI or something) or a HDMI cable? I don't think you should use an HDMI cable.

I am using HDMI cable. Should I go buy DVI dual link for it? I had DVI single link included when I bought monitor but I had an info that this cable is wrong for 3D.

I don't have experience with this unfortunately, but I'm sure you'll get an answer soon from the fine people on this forum. You could also search yourself, on the forum or the net, regarding 3D Vision in general, I'm sure this question has been answered multiple times. I think in general HDMI is mandatory if you play on TV, since there is no other option. But if you have a PC monitor, the other connection is much better and faster. I hope your monitor or video card has such a cable included.

I think that monitor should have came with a dual link cable. Look at this pic to tell http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface#mediaviewer/File:DVI_Connector_Types.svg A Dual link cable will enable 3D Vision and is a better option than HDMI for gaming.

Yeah, you definitely can't use a HDMI cable, unless you're connecting to a TV or projector. Must be dual-link DVI.

They must have shipped it with the wrong cable. You'll need to buy a dual-link cable.
