Thank god I got rid of those 970's, it's now months later and the situation is still as bad as it was at the beginning.
NVidia's engineers are not capable to fix these immensely hard to tackle SLI bugs and game developers are unable to write proper code to support SLI. With a code base that is millions of lines of code large and game developers that do not how to implement SLI or simply don't care at all, it's a lost cause and I think it'll get worse as the complexity of hardware and game engines increases. I've happily enjoyed SLI since the days of the 8800GTX, but I'm gonna abandon it here.
These old cards I have now remain remarkably capable with 4GB of vRAM, it really paid off to go against the general opinion that 2GB would be enough. I'm waiting for the next generation and will then just purchase a completely new system all together with a single card, I'm done with SLI and I'm not gonna purchase the latest and greatest instantly anymore, simply because neither software nor hardware is ever released without hidden flaws these days. It pays off to wait a few months.

I hope for DX12, heard its going to be easier for developers to support SLI then. Don't think DX12 has an influence on the Swift problematic tough. Still hope they solve that soon

Im in the process of trying to RMA my swift cause of various it other problems it has, either that or im going to sell it, cant be bothered with it anymore. Gsync im not interested in either NVidia cant seem to make it work. 3d is the only thing that interests me but its getting so frustrating that I cant use it lol. What other 3d monitors are good? I may have to go back to 1080p I don't want to but its looking that way

I had this long post in the Acer XB270HU thread that I deleted because I don't like bringing anything that may seem negative to the forum, but now it's just too appropriate. I got one of those monitors (and got super lucky and received a perfect panel) and it's done what I wasn't expecting... if I switch back to my 1080p Asus for 3D, there's just too many things I'll miss about the Acer that it's done it in for me.
BUT, as I said in the deleted post, everyone has their own personal checkboxes of what they deem essential to gaming (that's the beauty of PC gaming), I'm posting this more as a "Disaster Plan" for anyone thinking it's time to jump ship either now or in the future (for me it was the discovery that 3D Vision forces single core is what sparked the upgrade. I bet it's a factor on why 3D Vision support became lackluster. That's not future proof at all).
Now I see someone with tri Titans in their sig, and I just feel the need to suggest considering the Predator 144hz IPS before they switch to AMD over it. I freaking *love* it (but I want to cap the discussion, at least from me, at this one post. You can find more info on it all over the place). I totally understand anyone who can't go back to gaming in 2D, but all the other features of this monitor trump what my old Asus can provide for my tastes.
I'm sticking around the forum because I'm betting Valve's new VR device and NVidia are going to play nice together. They seemed awfully chummy in some of the Steam Box announcements last year.

Where did you find out this? It would explain why I can get 60fps at 4k (using dsr) in GTA v but with 3d Vision @ 1080p only 50.
I'm seriously thinking of abandoning 3d now so I don't have to stay tied to Nvidia proprietary hardware then maybe try 4k freesync...
All credit goes to RAGEdemon. And in finding that again I see it's actually limiting to 3 cores. At the time I think I assumed only 1 core was being used by the game.

Im thinking of going to the acer xb270hu to be honest but im really just going to miss 3d, the rog swift has to be one of the worst monitors I have ever bought. Honestly im tempted to try and find the old acer monitor that I had the hn274h and buy it again. That was awesome in 3d and no inversion issues at all really solid monitor.

Damn it... Just did the test myself and it's true... As games get more complicated 3d Vision is dead unless this is sorted out, which seems very unlikely, and it's not as if a hardware upgrade is really going to help either.
Maybe time to accept and try 4K.
Just wanted to provide everyone with an update. We are targeting not the next driver branch, which our next driver is based on, but rather the driver branch that follows that for this to be implemented. I don't have an exact ETA at this time but if anything changes I will update everyone.
Manuel... now we've had the latest drivers released (352.86) are we talking the next driver now for a fix, or do your branches cover ranges of 10 (ie the current branch is the 35x.xx branch and we need to wait for the 36x.xx branch?). Also, is this purely a ROG Swift issue or is it a 1440p/DisplayPort issue? I think there are quite a few of us now who are more than a little disgruntled at spending huge amounts of money here (2 x 980 cost me over £1100 and the monitor another £630 to boot) and not getting what we expected. Guess what we really want to know is if it's worth waiting or if we need to do something about it - get a different monitor or trade in the 2 cards for a single Titan X. A single 980 is already struggling in some games maxed out at 1440p - especially in 3D...

I don't think it will be fixed any time soon. I have rma'd my swift due to inversion just to see if a new LCD would make any difference, They put in a new lcd but the job they done it on it I was not happy with as the bezel was not put back to the way it was. So basically I refused to take the monitor back and told them I want a refund. I told them that it has been working properly for a while now.
I couldn't care less if most of the problems are due to driver related issues caused by NVidia at the end of the day I cant use it so I told them I want my money back, so will see what happens.
NVidia need to get off their ass and start fixing some shit. All the seem to be interested in is releasing a pooly written piece of crap driver with a new sli profile for what ever big game is out. With every release lately i wonder can it get any worse but somehow NVidia seem to manage it.
Any how i have had enough of ranting
Come next time round for an upgrade i wont be buying NVidia. Really looking forward to see what amd has coming with the 390x

Somehow i`ve managed to start Witcher 3 will perfect SLI scaling at 1440p. It didn`t work before but when i stat messing with drivers and made a clean reinstall of the latest ones i got it to work. SLi means nothing thou because that de-sync is there and i can`t get rid of it even i try to cut on frame rate through NV Insp.
Other recent game which works great in sli on ROG Swift is Van Helsing 3.

too bad AMD is not 3D vision compatible..... I'm sure many of us would wish AMD was an option but it's not really if you wanna play 3D. I just move along and keep feeding the greedy green monster. LOL.
Rog Swift is still the only 1440p 3D monitor right? I wish we had more options.
