[b]HERE IS SOLLUTION FOR SCREEN ASPECT RATIO FIX FOR PJD6531w WHICH WORKS :
You need to use control panel over network and select 16:9 from it, works perfect!!!
before that go to projector menu setup IP, mask, gatway hook up projector to your network PC
open IE type IP of projector, go control panel where you can setup anything you want...
I tested this using HDMI input didn't try RGB but it should work also...
I went into the control panel, via the network. Under "Picture," there is the same Aspect Ratio selector as in the projector menu. It has only 4:3 and 16:10. Where are you seeing 16:9?

You may need update your firmware, I did this some time ago using files from Viewsonic http://www.viewsonic.com/products/pjd6531w.htm. They have all soft tools to do it.
I loaded firmware 1.47 (the one from their site) however in projector control panel it shows rev 1.02 even after upgrade, I think it's just the bug, and firmware got updated with wrong rev displayed, anyway it works for me after I did it.
I attached the screen cap from my control panel, so you can see that it displays 16:9 option.
Good Luck...

Very interesting. I updated the firmware when I got it, and it never seemed to work. Also showed 1.02 after upgrade. I'll try again from Win XP, if I can get it to boot ;)

I updated the firmware again from Windows XP. Still only have the 16:10 and 4:3 choices. Only difference I can see on your screenshot is RGB in "Singal Type." It's spelled incorrectly on both menus. Your's looks formatted differently...

Not sure what that will do. It seems if the pj was going to offer me a 16:9 option, it likely shouldn't matter what signal it gets. So do you now have the projector showing up in 3D Vision (and device manager) as PJD6531w? I would really like to get this working in the proper aspect..
