Hello, this is my first post on this forum. I am considering of buying an Acer H5360 projector, only for watching 3D movies. One could say there are no available 3D movies yet, and that would be correct. On the other hand, i have created a 3D rig made of consumer cheap HD cameras and i want to see those videos in 3D. Also there are many samples and some Field Sequential DVDs that i have collected around the net. Currently i have 4 pairs of e-Dimensional glasses connected through splitters to their controller dongle. I have tested that method using an EIZO 17" CRT and it works extremely well for all 4 glasses using VGA connection of course at 120Hz and using E-D Activator to turn on the glasses. Although i experience a little ghosting due to the phosphor the CRT uses to display the image. My question is: Can anyone confirm that e-dimensional glasses and VGA dongle work with the Acer H5360 without problems and whether there is ghosting (if yes how much in approximation) or not?
According to this review (DepthQ DLP 3D Projector - the I/O Glasses (e-dimensional) performed extremely well - look at the comparison table)
My point is, if the Acer H5360 uses the same technology or better (4x color wheel - 2x at 120Hz probably), then the same would apply to the Acer and the e-dimensional glasses. But i am not sure. That's why i need feedback from those people who have really tested a movie with Acer and e-dim glasses.
That guy tested the Acer projector along with the 3D Vision kit and there seems to be some subtle ghosting seem from the right lens of the glasses. How do the e-dimensional glasses compare to the 3D Vision Kit, in movies mainly?
I have attached a ghosting test pattern which i found in MTBS3D

How far 2X zoom in Acer H5360 makes difference? does it also have feature to adjust colors as per wall color like Acer X1261? In Acer X1261 has heating problem in 3D mode, H5360 also has it??
Has anybody compared the performance of Acer H5360 with OPTOMA HD66? pl. post your comments if so....

It is in German, however i translated the forum messages and found out that user "3dimages" reports the system works excellent with zero ghosting at movies using Stereoscopic Player.
Can anyone confirm it?

My 74" pull-down screen is about 10.5 feet from where the projector will sit. I don't know much about throw distance and I've heard the zoom options are limited on the Acer, but would my set up be usable for this PJ? I was able to use an Optoma HD20 from this exact distance perfectly, matching it up to the screen w/ about 1" around the screen to spare.

I can confirm, that the Acer h5360 does work with i-O-Glasses and other "cheap" shutter glasses that come with an analog vga dongle. You can either use DDC signal activated glasses (if your driver still supports them, this works under windows XP but probably not vista / 7), or shutter glasses that sync to the vsync-signal (works with any analog output, regardless of the drivers capabilities). I've compared nVidias shutter goggles to i-O-Glasses (wired) and even my medieval asus glasses (wired to i-O-Glasses dongle): there's hardly any difference in image quality or brightness, crystal clear images without ghosting in truely amazing colors and a remarkably "solid" 3d-effect.

macjaeger, First of all, your confirmation is of extreme value for the 3D community. Thank you!
Have you tested the i/o glasses with the VGA dongle using vsync-signal on Acer H5360 at 1280x720 @ 120Hz ? Have you tested Stereoscopic movies with Stereoscopic Player (apparently you have to use page flipping and the E-D Activator right?) ?. Have you ever noticed ghosting on extreme contrast scenes or the glasses sync up perfectly? Overall, compared to your local RealD cinema, how is the 3D experience? Thanks in advance!

No, you don't. You just plug the emitter to your pc's usb-port, install latest nVidia-drivers (gfx + stereo) and you're all set. You may need the cable if you want to connect the nVidia emitter to a Vesa miniDin port, like on Quadro-cards, or maybe on your 3d-ready TV set.

Im having trouble with mine, I get severe colour shifting into green and purple on all the first person shooters I own , Someone said earlier in the thread that he had the same problem and it turned out to be him running sli, but I have a single nvidia 9800gt.
Im at a loss been looking around the net all night and cant find any clues as to why, Im going to try my dads nvidia card and see if the problem still occurs on that, but if anyone has had a simular problem Id be glad for the help, Thanks.
