3D Vision 2 glasses not working :(
  1 / 3
my 3D vision 2 glasses do not turn on, they charge blink orange.. I even left them for ages to charge yet nothing happens when I try to turn them on, no lights at all.. pretty disappointed as they feel more comfortable in comparison to my vision 1 glasses, but they work, do you guys know anything I might need to do or are the glasses just dead? if there is a guide to fix them I will give it a go! thanks

Did you buy them new? If so, perhaps the are under warranty? If used, perhaps you got pro glasses which use a RF emitter, not an IR emitter. These links might help. http://3dvision-blog.com/350-3d-vision-glasses-might-have-a-battery-charging-issue/ http://3dvision-blog.com/8323-again-about-replacing-adead-battery-in-3d-vision-glasses/

Nlawol is trolling. Report his posts and don't reply. Yoyo, we need more information. What graphics card do you have? What monitor? What operating system? What driver? How is the monitor connected? Have you tried connecting the emitter to a different USB port, and not through an external hub?

There's a lil green LED located on the switch that will remain on, once activated. The problem could be with the cable that you are using to charge them with or the USB port might not have enough power available.

Ah wait, I missed a detail. To confirm, your 3d vision 1 glasses work? If they work and the 2s don't, it's definitely the glasses. If neither works, it's probably the emitter.

Front panel ports can often not supply enough power to charge. For V2 glasses, the fact that it's blinking says it's charging. When it's fully charged the light will be off. When you hit the little switch on left temple the light should glow green. If it shows red, or blinks red, the battery is too low. Since it blinks orange during charging instead of flashing red, that suggests it's functional, but it's always possible the glasses are bad.

It seems if the glasses are not used in a while, they get to a state where they can't be charged again. In my case, I've left them charging for over 48 hours straight and all I get is a solid orange light - no green light to indicate that they've charged. Turn them on and they turn off within a minute or so. I just ordered a new pair from Amazon and they have the same issue - apparently they've been on the shelf so long, the battery has depleted itself to where it can't be charged again. I'm returning these to Amazon, but would really like to find a good pair to get. It seems these glasses are hard to find now, and the sellers that do have them are charging over $100.

I have both 3D 1 and 2 glasses. I'm not great about charging them, yet I've never had a problem with the batteries. If the new glasses also did not work, I'd assume your emitter is not getting enabled or it has gone bad. Is the emitter glowing green? Use a cell phone and take a pic to see if the infra red is on. The glasses will shut off automatically after not receiving a signal from the emitter, this is to be expected. http://3dvision-blog.com/3237-upgrading-the-rechargeable-battery-of-the-3d-vision-shutter-glasses/ http://3dvision-blog.com/350-3d-vision-glasses-might-have-a-battery-charging-issue/

NVIDIA 3D Vision glasses use lithium-ion battery technology to provide long life and light weight. You can recharge the battery whenever convenient i.e. when battery is completely discharged, when red light shows or when not in use. It is recommended that you recharge the battery once per month if glasses are not used. Like all lithium batteries in use today, the battery in your 3D glasses will slowly age and after a while it will lose it capability to be charged to its full capacity. For example, If you fully discharge and recharge your glasses 300 times the battery capacity can fall to 80% (that's 6 years before you reach this level if you fully discharge and recharge once a week). The degradation will be slow and will varying depending on your use and recharging habit. The recommended operating temperature range is 5 to 40degreeC (41degreeF to 104degreeF). The recommended storage temperature range is -10 to 45degreeC (14degreeF to 113degreeF). Operating and storage of the glasses outside the recommended temperature range can lead to temporary and even permanent damage to the battery and lens of the glasses. The lithium ion battery in the NVIDIA 3D Vision glasses is a custom design. You should not attempt to replace it yourself or by a high street service provider. Contact NVIDIA or a NVIDIA approved service provider, if you suspect your battery is faulty. For example, if the battery does not give a full day operating time (10hours) after a 3 hour full charge. http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2286/kw/glasses/related/1

Sniff. Sniff. My original pair of NVidia 1 glasses just went belly up. Used them for 6 years straight. Used them so long the nose piece kept popping off, and I had to super glue it on. Used them so long those dumb green temple things would no longer stick. R.I.P. little fella. Unless of course I rip your guts out and put in a new battery. The batteries on NV1 glasses are getting into their last legs, used or not. Li batteries degrade over 5 years, used or not. It's possible to replace the battery as seen on those above links. It's not the easiest job. I have one thing worth looking at though: an eBay auction for original NVidia batteries. http://www.ebay.com/itm/YOKU-Battery-for-Nvidia-GeForce-3D-Vision-Glasses-/201031292995?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ece661843 This is the exact replacement part, including the connector. Now, WARNING. I bought two of these from this guy, both arrived dead. 0 volts, no jump start. 5 year death most likely. The guy was not too unreasonable, but doesn't know jack about batteries and kept arguing with me that he never had this problem before. At the end, we reached an agreement for me to get half my money back, and I keep them just for the connectors. You might try this route, you might not. I can tell you how to get the right temple open much easier now if anyone is interested.

Nice! step by step pics of V2 battery replacement Thanks for posting those. Also, if you are not aware of it, you can find stereoscopic compatibility patches for games at http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/10/game-list-automatically-updated.html
