The game runs actually very well in 3D with either TriDef or iZ3D 3D drivers. Only very minor issues.
I actually use the TriDef driver with this game. Night races in 3D are amazing.

Is it possible to install the tridef drivers and choose whether to run a game in either tridef or nvidia? I love shift and want to see an improvement in 3d playing it, I've waiting ages now for EA to patch it!

Yes, all 3 3D drivers do kindly co-exist on a PC and you can select one on a per game basis!
Simply set 3D-vision to "Off on game start" in the nVidia 3D vision control panel and activate it via Ctrl-T in a game where you want to use it.
iZ3D can be activated/deactivated via the iZ3D tray bar icon or control panel and to activate the TriDef Ignition driver a game must be started via their launcher app.

Cheers Nobsi I'm going to install the other 2 today and try Shift with tridef. It does seem odd that the game can look ok in 3d with one driver and messed up with another. How different are the products?

I have now installed the Tridef driver and Shift does look better with it after a few adjustments. But I now have a problem where my FPS is around 30. In the menus and garage it's a constant 60 but when a race starts it drops to around 30-35. My refresh in desktop is set at 120hz and so is the Tridef drivers. I am using SLI (see sig) and MSI afterburner is showing equal GPU usage for each card. The FPS does go above 30 ie. 35 so I don't think it's a V-Sync issue.

Thanks for the reply Mocca but I don't have that process running at all anyway. I've checked when running the game with Tridef and even with 3D vision and the only nVidia processes I have running are "nvvsvc.exe" and "nvXDSync.exe". I have tried Portal 2 with Tridef and that runs at 60fps all the time. It's as if Shift is wasting GPU usage somewhere because if I enable shadows the performance decreases more.

Ah sorry i just tried shift 2 and tridef and im getting around 30-35fps.
The info i gave in other post gets me from a 30-35 fps 40% gpu to solid 60 fps and around 90% gpu usage in 2d mode, lol makes no difference in tridef though, stuck at 60% gpu and 35 fps in 3d no matter what settings or res!

Can you tell me what options do you use in the TriDef ignition? I've tested all and does not work at all. I am using the game profile
NFS Shift 2 (DDD). My image appears side by side. My monitor is an asus vg236 and doesnt appear on the options for that i select (types displays standard).
Thanks in advance.

Have you set "hide 3d when application starts" (or whatever it's called) in the nvidia control panel so 3d vision doesn't enable when you start the game? I had to play around with the tridef settings to get the 3d how I like it and disabled shadows in video settings. Still only getting 35fps though. It would be perfect if I could get it running at 60fps. Looks a lot better in this game than 3d vision at the moment.

Its working now. Great! The problem was that I had shutdown the process nvSCPAPISvr.exe and uncheck the enable 3d stereoscopy option thinking to be necessary do that. And so the glasses and the receiver do not turn on.

Cheers Nobsi I'm going to install the other 2 today and try Shift with tridef. It does seem odd that the game can look ok in 3d with one driver and messed up with another. How different are the products?
