Diablo 3 and 3d Vision. An amazing experience
Start by saying.. WOW!!

I have checked a couple of times to see if anyone else has posted anything on these 3d Vision forums about Diablo 3 and haven't seen anything so I decided I would tell you my own opinions.

This to me is one of the best 3d experiences I have had since purchasing 3d Vision over a year ago. I have tried over a hundred games or more including most top titles in 3d but none of them brought this type of 3d experience as Diablo 3 did. Not to say that some aren't as good in their own way.. I'll explain.

Diablo 3 has a similar camera view as lets say and RTS game like Blizzards Starcraft 2. Some people really enjoy Starcraft 2 in 3d and I also have tried it and like to enjoy a game of it here and there. However, Diablo 3 brings a few elements that you only get a glimpse at in a game like Starcraft 2, namely being the Camera view that really ties in those experiences(Think towards the end of the campaign and you only control the few special characters through the zerg tunnels but in Diablo 3, the environment is far more detailed). Diablo 3 has a very focused camera that brings you a lot closer to the action than an RTS. The carefully crafted environments are much more personal and in your face. The atmosphere as well is absolutely amazing. Every time you enter a crypt or an old condemned shack you see layers of 3d surroundings either coming out to you or falling hundreds of feet out of your view to the pits. It's a true joy to experience while smashing monsters into pieces, and I mean into pieces.

This is another place that the 3d REALLY shines. Diablo 3 has a unique physics system where every time you smash a mob with your sword they have an amazing adverse reaction. They might explode into a pile of blood that shoots up at you, or a skeleton might break into 20 pieces to scatter across the room. Not only enemies have this sort of physical property, but also your environment. Almost everything that looks like you should be able to break, breaks in Diablo 3. Countless times a room gets exploded by your friends amazing spell effects and shrapnel, corpses, blood, limbs fly right up to your eyes!

The story! I imagine the experience is great without 3d, but when story elements are happening and you zoom in on segments of the live cutscenes, you feel like a part of that world and for me my quests felt all the more important to help save the village.

Anyway I could go on but it's really something worth trying if any of you have access to the beta or you know a friend that would let you try it.

I myself am truely looking to Diablo 3 as a 3d Vision experience. It's that good /clap.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I run on a DLP 60" real projection that overscans at my custom resolution of 1826 x 1004. Because of this I have not posted any screenshots, i'm afraid stretching across 1920 x 1080 it will not look as good for the majority of you that are probably using that resolution. If someone really wants to see some though i'll play through and take some shots of stuff I thought looked great. But in all honsety, this game looks way better moving(like most games).

Would love some screenies mate! If it is on par with Starcraft 2, I am one happy bear!

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Sounds great, from what I saw of it I can imagine it'd be great in 3D Vision.

Only 2 major concerns for me though:

1) 2D Cursor
2) 2D item names and monster nameplates

StarCraft II addressed these and made it a great title in 3D, so if Diablo 3 handles it out of the box it'll be a must-have title for 3D Vision for sure, instead of just a must-have title I guess :D

I have taken a group of some flashy screen shots but again these do not do the justice of the game in motion.

Going to try and find a good way to post the I have never posted screens on here before.

And to address the person talking about 2d cursor/Item name plates. I was also concerned about this but you will see in the screens it isn't an issue. I do however hope the implement a 3d system for them. For taking screenshots it's alt+f1. The button "alt" in the game brings up all nameplates so every time I took a screen, any item or name on the screen popped up. Worst case scenario and yet they still look good.
