Microsoft Flight Simulator X
  1 / 2
Hi,
I'm new to this board but I'm a long time 3D gamer.

I spend most of my computer time, by far, with FSX. It works quite well in 3D, except for effects like lights, smoke, stars, sun, moon, etc.
I've seen that any question regarding a fix for that remains unanswered in these forums. /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />

Although I've learnt to live with that, some weeks ago I was told that the iz3d driver works with FSX beatifuly. As I have a Zalman 3D display I tried it and had some awesome night fliying with lights and night sky placed at correct depth. In fact, everything was at correct depth, including smoke. Just an amazing experience. You should see all those lights of the runway at night in 3D when you are aligned for take off.

But now I'm about to jump to a DLP projector system and I'll be bound to the 3D vision exclusively. After having experienced the joy of FSX in perfect 3D I find pitiful to return to the nvidia stereo driver without a fix for that "incorrect 3D object placement".

I know this will remain answered as the other request of this very same question, and FSX will remain as it has always been with nvidia's stereo driver, but I thought that at least I had to try.

If I stand on my knees and beg, will it be fixed? I don't care to do that for this :P

I don't think nvidia even knows what FSX is. I agree with you though, it sure would be nice if they heard our cries...

Hi

I will investigate but sometimes we cannot fix issues inside a game. Are you sure IZ3D is fixing the issues? Did you try turning up your depth on your Zalman to really make sure?

I use FSX alot with a HD 66 it is good but I had serious hard lock ups with 400-500- series cards I am now using a gtx285 and a old driver and I still have to run DX10 mode in FSX. Somewhere there is a driver issue with FSX, a serious one I tried 3 different cards with tech help but will not work. First you hear pops and crackles then wham! hard lock up.I hope Microsoft Flight will have fixed this issue.

iZ3D did not fix this issue in FSX yet, but they fixed it in FS2004(except stars in night sky).
And I know that DDD driver fixed this fsx issue perfectly, unfortunely DDD driver can't support nvidia 3d vision. so I tried in anagraphy mode only.

I'm a long long waiting user for a fix of FSX issue. I'm almost giving up, and waiting the Microsoft Flight will perfectly support 3D vision.. I hope.

Yes, I'm absolutely sure. As I said, 3D gaming is nothing new to me. Certainly, iz3d is quite new to me, and tested it only because of FSX.
I use big amounts of separation to almost match my interpupilar distance. I just can't confuse an object in 3D with one locked at screen depth. Furthermore, now that my demo license has expired and I'm using 3D vision again the difference is clear. I'd happily buy a license if I was not going to build a projector setup with 3D vision glasses.

I haven't tried DDD. Maybe I will for curiosity.

Hi Andrew, we so much appreciate ur response here. There's a huge community behind FSX; more and more of them are moving towards 3D Vision, and all looking anxiously for a fix for lighting in FSX coz basically we can't fly at night at all. Landing at night is almost impossible.

I've been playing FSX for almost a decade, and with 3D it looks just amazing during day flights. I really hope if you can find a fix for lighting. Thanks

whoa, nvidia really isn't aware that their 3D drivers don't work with this game, while everybody else's does? I just assumed they were just ignoring all of the DOZENS of monthly forum posts about this. It amazes me how oblivious nvidia is compared to their own community. This is microsoft flight simulator, for god's sake. The oldest, and one of the most popular, video games.

[/quote]Not a fix. Is that my display uses passive 3d technology and is easily compatible with other stereo drivers. And I tried the 'iz3d' driver and FSX was rendered fairly well, including lights, smoke, dust, etc. Unfortunately has other problems that the nvidia driver hasn't. So the perfect solution would be a fix from nvidia.

About the mouse, there is no more options than learning to aim knobs and switches between the apparent two mouse pointers.

I'm glad too see I'm not alone here. I hope that we can be visible enough over the storm of transient games that come and go so nvidia pay a little attention to FSX.

Yer they need to sort this out! because simulators like FSX where made for 3D ,it changes the whole Experience to something even more real!!!

Please Listen to us Nvida we love FSX in 3D

Are we going to get support with these issues or not ? The reson I got 3D vision was for FSX which Nvidia on there website says works great but at night it is impossible to land at any runway due to the lights , please can we have some info about these issues

Thanks again
