Can I assume nobody has tried Stick It To The Man?

Did you give Chiri's Resolution/Refresh wrapper a try? You'd also have to use it this way if you're using the fix.
It's running on Unity (I'm pretty sure), you might be able to find a way to force Unity games to a certain resolution. Maybe a command line switch or a way to edit the ini.

On sale, $2.25 ...

From what I played of Type:Rider($1.14) it looked really good in 3D too
http://www.bundlestars.com/store/type-rider/
... so does Ethan: Meteor Hunter($2)
Also some cutscenes have high convergence.
You might be able to use that 'auto' convergence thing I was talking about the other day, eqzitara used it here. It's based around using a texture's CRC to call a 'Preset' ... you could use the CRC of the black bars during the cutscenes.
So far the game looks really good in 3D with your fix, there's the occasional extra bits of the textures here and there which are more noticeable in 3D but there's nothing that can really be done about them ... other than the dev fixing the textures.
[s]When you were going through the shaders did you notice if there was one for the cursor, the white circle? It's practically useless when using a controller, it seems like if you put it on/over anything, even if it highlights it, it doesn't actually interact with it. [/s]

Sigh ... yeah, scratch that. I was trying out FEAR2, which doesn't have controller support, so I was running joy2key ... Lol. Oops. :)
edit: did I say 'really good' ... I meant fantastic! :)
i bought this game during the steam sale, and it looks really good in 3D with the shader fix. Im about half way though it now, the game is kind of repetitive but its fun just to see whats next.
Shadow fix doesn't seem to be working for me any more. Pressing U to cycle convergence cycles it, but doesn't fix shadows.
Hi Pirateguybrush. Reading the forums, it looks like they updated the game recently. I'll check it out once I get home from work.
Unfortunately, I don't have a previous Dump(ShaderSource(s)) for this so I can't run my script against the contents of the Shaders vs the new(if any) ones but I did run another script just against just the CRCs of a recent Dump and and the only CRC that was missing was VS36A3FBCB ... not sure if it means anything or not, can't check what it's for atm, and I may or may not have a complete Dump ...

Here's another trick/suggestion for making your game life easier: Always enable System Restore in Windows, and give it a lot of space. On all drives. It defaults at 10%, and I usually set it higher.
The reason this is valuable is because you can revert games that have been auto-updated like this. That can get you back your ShaderCache for example, or revert a bad update by the devs. Not necessarily a fix, but at least you aren't dead.
I used this to recover the Dead Space 2 exe when they botched it by giving free guns and suits. I used this to find that annoying Steam problem and revert it so I can play. I used it to keep UPlay from botching my Watch Dogs install. It also helps when driver installs go off the rails. Easily worth the disk cost.

On Windows 7, you can access and restore individual files/folders using the "Previous versions" tab under the object's properties page. On Windows 8, this doesn't work - but there's a free program called Shadow Explorer that will access these.

I just don't understand Microsoft.

Did you give Chiri's Resolution/Refresh wrapper a try? You'd also have to use it this way if you're using the fix.

You could try moving it to a corner and ignoring it, if it doesn't disappear.
