RollerMOD Samsung UE55D7000 3D Vision
This is my first step into RollerMod.inf so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Let me set the picture....

Earlier this year i bought a Samsung UE55D7000 after lots of research around 3D performance, features, refresh rates. Before the TV arrived i bought a brand new graphics card a Geforce 570 GTX (HDMI 1.4) and along with that Crysis 2 in preparation for my 3D cherry to be plucked. The TV arrived 'BIG DAY' so i installed Crysis 2 and played that in full 1080p60hz 3D glory and was blown away (yes it’s not full 3D as CryEngine uses a false 3D but hey at 1080p60hz i thought it was awesome).

I then thought what else can i play so went through my games and decided a big of Command and Conquer was in order but wait i need 3D Vision bundle, after spending so much on the TV plus extra glasses for friends i wasn’t about to go and spend another $200 on 3D vision, that’s when i noticed 3DTV Play and thought that’s the fella and naively handed over $40 (UK £30) to then install and reliase the pain that everyone else on this forum has been complaining about, yes the dreaded 720p60hz or 1080p24hz… WTF who can game with the lag at 1080p. I managed to run command and Conquer at 720p60z but the screen real estate was reduced greatly.

The Story continues…..

I then drilled through the numerous threads and it seem everyone is complaining about 3DTV Play and the fact the SBS Framepacking (FP) is the cause of everyone’s headache. Andrew from NVidia commented that eventually 3DTV will support Checkerboard (CB) however it not anytime soon.

Along comes RollerMOD.inf…… <superman music here>

Right I thought with the release of Battlefield 3 imitate and with 3D support in the beta options menu it’s time to step up and rid myself of the constraints of 1080p24hz. I bit the bullet and installed Rollermod.inf along with the Russian 3D Vision USB emulator. If you haven’t heard about it enables 3D Vision by emulating the emitter.

There’s a great post here http://3dvision-blog.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=997

The installation went through fine following rollerMOD’s instructions and low and behold I now have the option of Generic DLP and yes 1080p60hz, so I fired up command and conquer and switched the Samsung to Checkerboard mode and that’s when I noticed some 3D issues. Yes it’s in 3D however there is some huge convergence issues, I don’t even know if its convergence issues it just seems as I increase the 3D depth above 0 (0 being none) the left and right eye image seem to mis-align.

When I played with 3DTV Play I didn’t experience any misalignment issues, just the lag..

Sorry for such a long thread however I thought it would be good to paint the landscape first.

Has anyone experienced the same issue and managed to resolve it? I’m willing to try any method to get this working before the big BF3 date!!

Just to note I’m using the latest GeForce beta drivers for BF3 beta, so could this cause the issue?

A simple answer is that the left and right eyes are swapped around(your left eye is seeing the image intended for the right eye and vice versa). I'm using rollermod with a Samsung PS50C7000 plasma (2010 model) and I find that I have to go into the 3D menu on the tv and there's an option called Picture Correction. I select that and then do it again and that correct the left - right sync problem.

There's a simple way to test if its this problem, while viewing a 3D image on screen simple turn the glasses upside down and have a look and see if looks correct.

Thanks EchoVoodoo for the recommendation however this isnt a L/R eye issue, I tried switching the eyes and it goes from a 3D image to recessed 3D Image, you can just tell it's wrong when the L/R eye are switched.

The issue seems to be when i increase the depth more than 0 (default is 15) the left image and right image move out of alignment.

at 1% percent the left and right image are aligned then at 3% depth the images look like major crosstalk images and increase further the left and right image are so misaligned that you see 2 images appear, after that i get a headache /crying.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':'(' />

I tried removing the new drivers and installing older drivers then activating 3D Vision with the 3D Vision emulator and the same occurs.

I'm willing to persist in getting 1080p60hz 3D working on my 55" 2011 Sammy so any more advice would be great.

Note: reading around can i just confirm that i'm not being a plum, i can use my Sammy Bluetooth glasses with 3d Vision to get 1080p60hz CB right?
