I have just purchased a bfg 6800ultra as a replacement for
my nvidia 6800ultra which died. I am running fsx flight simulator which
was running fine with my original 6800. But I am finding that
when I run fsx with stereo enabled I get a system reboot
every time I have to completely disable the stereo driver
to run fsx I have tried most of the drivers from the 90s up
but with the same result any ideas ?
If you had a 6800 before and a 6800Ultra now it might be the power supply that isn't good for it (The ultra draws quite a bit more current)...
I usually have BSOD's when trying to run stereo with dual core.
It might help if you have some more specs of your system though.
I have purchased a new 600watt power supply I had a four hundred watt
before with my old ultra The only thing with the bfg is that I think it is
overclocked more which is why I purchased the larger power supply
maybe this would be causing the problem. My machine is a p4 3.2
with 2 gigs.
Maybe try all or some of this guide, it works:

Made to avoid BSOD/reboot.
This may sound odd, but I had this same problem with my rig.
Check to see if you have the 3d gunsite option enabled or disabled in the 3d Control panel. If you have it disabled (like I did, and it caused the BSOD), enable it. Turn your transparency option for it up to 100% so you don't see it.

Worked like a charm for me. No more BSOD/Reboots.
