3d Vision wit Pioneer VSX 920 How can you use 3d Vision with a pioneer AVR
Hello to all,
i have Nvidia 3D Vison with a Nvidia GTX 460 in my PC. It is connected to a Acer H 5360. 3D Vision was working perfectly but i was not happy with the Sound because of my old AVR receiver.
I bought the Pioneer VSX 920 and connected the Computer via HDMI with the Pioneer Receiver and the Receiver with the Projector. I bought this one because it should work with 3D Vision regarding the Nvidia webpage.
The Sound and the Picture is perfect, but i can not choose the settings for 3D Vision because the computer cant find the 3D Projecor anymore.
I can chose some 3d options in the Nvidia Settings but not the 3D Vison Settings i had before. None of these settings allow me to watch in 3d.
It is also not possible to connect the Computer an the media receiver parallel because then it finds the receiver as an monitor and its not possible to choose 3D settings at all.
Does anybody has an Idea how to solve this Problem?
Best Regards
Oskar

Hi, it works in general, but then there is no Sound anymore :-(
And the size of the desktop doesnt fit the display and i cant change it in a proper way.
I deleted the driver again and it works perfect - but without 3d vision.
I think the only thin i need is the nvidia 3d vision in the menue 3d settings. But its not there....
No way to put it inside.
Greetings

Today i connected the Receiver with two HDMI cables and tried to use one for sound and one for Video.
But this caused a lot of trouble. Couldnt see anything on the screen and no Sound anymore.
After disconnecting one cable everything was fine again. But i really would like to see 3D with good sound again.
Toslink is not an option because i cant send the sound in maximum quality.
Does anybody has another Idea?

After trying a lot I found a way how it works.
This could be interesting in case anybody use the same system.

I connected the PC with the Pioneer Receiver and the Pioneer with the beamer.
Then I connected the Computer with 2 HDMI Cables with the television. Television was now in the device manager twice.
Overrides the TV 1 (shows as standard Monitor) with the Acer driver for the Projector. This Screen is black now if I choose this HDMI port.
But if I choose the other HDMI Port it works. I cloned the displays. Because the Software realizes the television now as Acer h5360 I can choose 3d vision for this device now.
Because my Nvidia GTX 460 supports only 2 displays I need to change with the software between TV (HDMI2) and Pioneer receiver (allows me to use both in 2d)
or the Pioneer and the TV on HDMI 1(show as Acer 5360) which allows me to use the Projector only but in 2d and 3d.
To use 3D the Acer Projector must be the primary monitor.

This is all necessarily to show the Projector on the page to choose the 3d settings in the Nvidia system setup.
If anybody finds an easier way please let me know.

I have a similar setup. I have the gtx 460, Pioneer vsx 920, and acer 5360. The only difference is that I don't have a tv as well. My problem is that I can only get the receiver to recognize the hdmi signal in 1280x720 if I change the hz to 50. I am using 1280x720 because the acer can only project 3d at 720.

The problem is that when the 3d is enabled it doubles the hz and my receiver looses the signal. I have tried to use the receiver settings to just pass the signal through but nothing that I try works. Does anyone have any ideas?

I was not able to get this to work as it should but I did find a work around. I connected my receiver to the hdmi out on the video card and the second dvi port to the projector using a dvi to hdmi converter. Then in windows I extend the first monitor at a res of 800x600, low because it will never be seen. Then the audio still goes out the hdmi to the receiver. Then I make the the second monitor (projector) my primary. I have tested games and movies in 3d and so far so good.

I had the same issue when I connected 3D ready Mitsubishi TV to PC via 3D ready Onkyo receiver. The problem is that 3D vision setup reads the display information directly from the EDID information stored on the connected display. So when it sees receiver, it is not recognized as a 3D ready display.

I have a quadro 4000 graphics card which allows forcing an EDID on a connected display. So I made a custom EDID with two blocks, first block is taken from the EDID of 3D display (Mitsubishi TV in my case), and seconds block (extension block which tells the sound capabilities of the device) from the receiver EDID. I forced this custom EDID on the port to which receiver is connected. Now everything works as it should. The display is detected as 3D ready and in the sound settings i can enable 7.1 channel surround sound.

3D will still work if you load the EDID of the 3D ready display but then the sound settings will have option corresponding to sound capabilities of TV. You won't be able to activate surround sound.

I am currently using an edited inf andh ave my 3d receiver passing through the 3d vision bu i have no sound, please can you explain which partbof the receiver .inf you added to the new fileand where to enable 7.1 sound,

I am using moninfo to create and collect the EDID info.

Thanks in advance

Any Joy Guys on this one????

Ive got the basic same issue the projector not showing up in the display section

Im going nuts trying to sort this out and have spent untold hours on it, Im starting to beleive its a fault of the of the pioneer amp, anyway hear we go!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!

I have a new Pioneer 2021 AV amp with 3D passthrough and dual HDMI out.

One HDMI out is connected to a non 3d 60" plasma.

The second HDMI out is connected to a Optoma HD67N projector

My HTPC is pluggeg into the amp from a GTX275 via the HDMI

If i bypass the amp everything is fine and the 3d all works through the projector, Once I go via the amp I cannot get the projector to show up in the Nvidia control panel as a dislay, all it shows is a Pioneer VSX 2021 (the amp).

Becase it does not show in the display section it cant detect a 3D dislay availble in the set up

I've tried that but my epson 3010 isn't able to display whatever the pioneer vsx-921-k is trying to output. Everything is fine until I added the reciever. I have a black screen when trying to change to a 3d mode until windows reverts back to a non 3d resolution. My card is a gts450 and I'm running the latest beta available. Thanks!
