If the option to switch the dynamic output range is not available in the NVCP, there's a bat that can do so. I think it was in the Driver Feedback forum, where it was posted. This should also help with the banding, or it could also be the game itself.

Update
D-Man11, i propably used wrong term, i don´t talk about color banding caused by wrong colorspace or too low bits. there is a banding structure to be seen. like small I shape cells topped above each other that show as a horizontal lines. But this "banding" is not any kind of real deal braker.
I tested all the modes rgb limited/extended and the yc,,,what the hell it is, i never remember the correct letters, there was no effect on the video quality when gaming what so ever.
I tested the unit again just now, and i need to say, for me it´s almoust watchable as there is no active 3d blinking but i see se the RBE flashes constantly as i have a habbit of moving my eyes. But here the deal braker is the somehow distorted colors and the friking super poor black. And you can understand how it destroys the contrast. maby if i would increase the birghtness but the the grays black turns even worse.
i did try this unit today on quickly again deusex and then i watched a bit of underworld awakening.
I would say if you like to watch movies and don´t like the active 3d blinking and can stand of Rainbow effect, a little poor black and don´t wanna buy a passive 3d tv this is viable option.
It´s 3D capable, the sound is ok from the headphones, no active blinking only the RBE effect.
i would say for 130 dollars the movie experience was ok. though i would not wanna use this device maby at cabbin or something i could watch a 3d movie with these. Though personally i would not wanna do that as i watch nowadays ALWAYS any 3d movie with my dual projector setup rather than in the movies as it´s ten times better experience.
If active 3D is not a problem, a 27" 3D vision monitor is hands down much better solution. Visually no comparison.
But personally i still find iWear more "watchable" as i can´t stand the active blanking. I would propably use iWear anytime over 3d vision monitor or 1 chip dlp projector if had to make a choise because of the non active solution of dual screen.
Though if that were the case i had to choose i would definetly cough up the cash for let´s say the Royole moon personal cinema. I have not tested it but it has 1080p Oled displays so i would asume it´s a much better choise, though it´s over 800 dollars but i think if you want´t to watch something in 3D you should be prapared to invest atleas 1000 dollars anyways.

Size wise, it´s kind of funny as all the hmd´s are usually marketed as big screen. like let´s say iwear 120" watched from a specific distance. i tested iwear in front of my monitor. and as i did not have the face padding installed i can see the keyboard with glasses on and the image is about the same size as my 24" inch screen so
i would say watching 27" 3D vision monitor fron half a meter is about same as watching 120" screen specific distance on or the iwear, only the resolution is more better if you have 1440p screen.
Though at the same time if i think about my own SCREEN, it´s 135" diagonally. yes it´s kind of same size as wathching a 27" monitor fron half a meter or the iWear but in the real world when you sit in the reclainer and watch a big screen, and it´s kind of the same size it actually really isn´t.
There is still a huge difference to watch and 135" screen from 4.5 meters than watch image closer to your face that block about same amount of view port and so on can be called the "same size" as the real one.

Nvidia has always had trouble with Dynamic output range. Even though they "finally" implemented a solution, often times, the settings do not take properly.
Try a stand-alone Blu-ray player or an AMD GPU, to see if the blacks are acceptable

Thanks. Don´t was that "amazing" but i tried so no one can blame me LOL
bottom line. i bet no 3D vision user would use iWear over monitor.
Hopefully the Royole moon comes down with price or someone buys one of my projectors so i can try it out.

You can also find Avegant Glyph for 300-400 on ebay which is not as expensive. I got one and it works with 3d vision, it's decent but low fov and hard to set up correctly, on the other hand it's amazingly portable and image quality is reasonably good, but still nothing beats HMZ headsets in terms of image quality and FOV afaik.

It looks like VR displays about to leap into the future, with a new report from Android Police that Google and LG will be unveiling a totally next generation VR display at the Display Week 2018 trade show in late May.

I tried out the Cinego / Goovis G2 and the Avegant Glyph. The Goovis G2 is quite good and I had quite a great 3d gaming experience. Id say its the most immersive 3d game experience Ive ever had. And this is even considering the 4k lg oled passive 3d tv I have. And I am not talking about gimmicky VR indie games, but AAA games with 3d injection.
The sharpest 3D Ive seen is 4k passive fpr. But the polarizer filters that dim the picture and theres always a bit of crosstalk/ghosting. I feel the HMD with the full colors and no crosstalk make for a more immersive 3d experience, even though it was only half resolution per eye. But the HMD still needs high pixel density to have a good 3d experience, unlike the VR headsets where screendoor and blurried images are the norm.
I probably sunk in 20 hrs in the last two days playing overwatch, vermintide 2, gta5, skyrim in 3d with this thing.Note that I am mainly using Tridef and SuperDepth3D reshade for my 3D injection. I sometimes use 3D vision, but I usually get better results with Tridef.
The 3000+ ppi oleds in the Goovis make for good image quality. Much better than the Avegant glyph in my opinion. The dlp projection in the glyph seemed a bit grainy. I had no eye strain even after hrs of use, unlike the glyph. One issue is that altho it is oleds, I feel that it doesnt do true blacks. Even with all black loading screen, looks like the backlight of an lcd. The 3d feels really immersive and its the best Ive experienced. It is only 200g in mass and wearing it for long durations was no issue. I felt the glyph headphone shape was very tight and gave me a headache after prolonged use.
Now the big/fatal issue with the Goovis is the lack of 3d modes. It only supports half SBS, so the image gets really aliased with the half resolution. I tried to get full SBS via custom resolutions whatnot, but it only supports half SBS. At least the glyph supports frame packed 720p for 3D vision. With this issue, I can't justify its $800 price tag. The HMD is standalone from the android device it comes with. Seems the firmware updates are only for the android device. I cant see how the HMD firmware can be updated. Sucks because the 3D mode control is on the HMD itself. So it looks like there is no way to upgrade the 3D mode functionality.

Bad input is the most common problem with these headsets, fuckers don’t understand how important it would be to have some versatility when choosing what to input.

@kakashisensei2000 Well that's terrible news, i was really hoping this could be the best headset for 3d vision nowadays, maybe if it goes half price at some point could be worth it, what a real pity, in any case thanks for sharing. but at this point it looks like good old HMZs are still the way to go.

There's also the new one from Google?LG

I also have the Pimax 4k and while its the best VR headset for resolution, the colors are washed out on the lcd and the refresh rate/ response time is no match for oleds. And the ability to see pixels and screendoor is still there.
I hope the Google/LG 1400+ ppi screen is not fluff. That could be the big game changer and hopefully leads to some new VR / HMD headsets that are worth a damn.

There's also the new one from Google?LG

I hope the Google/LG 1400+ ppi screen is not fluff. That could be the big game changer and hopefully leads to some new VR / HMD headsets that are worth a damn.
