3D Fix Manager - Application for installing 3D Vision Fixes + Hotkey Editing Support

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who took the time to give a response to Pauldusler concerns. However up until now, only a handful of people have responded, and that's what worries me. Now I could be drifting way off topic here, but maybe not.
In many ways 3D Vision is stronger than it's ever been, due solely to the dedication of some very talented people, but I'll use as an analogy a ship setting out on an ocean voyage. If it has a very clear idea of what it's destination is, it's provisions for the journey are accurately quantified and a course is then charted on how to get there just as safely and as quickly as possible. In doing so, it's chances of actually arriving at it's chosen destination are good. If instead it's simply a voyage of discovery, the ship at least has to have a general direction in which it wants to head, but it's chances of success are comparatively slimmer. If however, a ship ventures out into the ocean with no clear heading, sooner or later it will get claimed by the ocean, and before that happens you'll start losing sailors overboard in rough weather in a increasingly unpleasant journey. Just something to ponder on perhaps.

@all: Thank you very much for all of your comments and appreciation. And also very nice to see you back in the forum helifax and DHR! For me and surely also for others you are like 3D Vision gods ;).
I was a bit frustrated the last days. Not only because of the 3D Fix Manager thing but also because of some private factors in my life. Sorry if my reaction was a little bit impulsive - of course everyone can freely decide if he wants to use this application or not and no one has to to apologize if he doesn't use it. But I'm very happy about what you all said about this application and this surely brings some motivation back :). And thank you Tothepoint2 – a really nice surprise and gesture gathering the people here. Haha and nice that Doom works for you now! :D
@Masterotaku:
I just tried it and you're right - I got the same issue. However I generally just enable vsync ingame and use RTSS. Currently for solving this issue you could export your global driver profile via Nvidia Profile Inspector. First you do the export with 3D Vision on and force Vsync on and then repeat the same procedure with 3D Vision off / Gsync on. Then you can auto apply these 2 profiles when enabling / disabling Nvidia Stereoscopic 3D via 3D Fix Manager. For doing this navigate to „Settings“ tab and there you find „Nvidia 3D Settings“ sub tab.
Under „Refresh Rates and global Driver Profiles“ you see „2D driver profile“ and „3D driver profile“. Here you can add the two .nip files you exported earlier with Nvidia Profile Inspector. I know this is not quite user friendly yet – best thing would be to use NVAPI and directly set those driver related options with the API but I didn’t dive into this topic yet.
What do you mean with scaling options?
@Helifax:
Thx for your appreciation. You already know what I think about your 3D fixes :D. Too awesome! I’m still enjoying your and DSS’s Andromeda fix. It’s very good to see you back around here :).
@ DHR: Thanks for always providing the info where to copy the fix files and the name oft he exe. Although I can get some information via SteamDB it sometimes only provides the path to the general launcher.exe although the path to another game exe is needed in a subdirectory like Binaries\Win64. Then I see in your fix description what is the correct path. So it’s really useful that you provide this information. And of course thanks a lot for the massive amount of your brilliant 3d fixes you do!
Cool that this app helped your friends.
@greatxerox: Thx for doing the French translation! I saw that you recently translated further parts. I just added it tot he app. Great job!

@Pauldusler Very kind, but I hesitate to take that much credit as I reckon almost every responder pretty much gathered themselves, but nonetheless a big thank you to any and all end-users, able assistants and heavy hitters from the 3D fixer ranks alike, for letting you know just how much your work is appreciated around here. As for Doom (2016), thanks, it's definitely fun! As Helifax mentioned, yeah at least as far as I'm concerned, you've already reached honourary fixer status! ;)
As DHR and greatxerox have observed, your 3D Fix Manager is a product of professional quality which often exceeds expectations. It's essentially a corporate level product, done a shoestring budget.
Glad to know that you're feeling at least a tad more optimistic about things as a result.

Apologies if this is already in the software in some fashion, but is there a way to have your 3D driver profiles backed up and restored? (I find GF3DPM and NPI to be very unreliable.) Makes upgrading drivers very painful.
If anyones got any good tips in this regard would appreciate it also.
I really appreciated the work that's gone into this app. I have started to use it a lot more recently. I just don't typically use it for the profile settings or auto install because I always make alot of manual adjustments to fixes to my own tastes and I am worried about these being overwritten. (this could simply be lack of understanding of the program).
I find with most of the options Shaderhackers put into their fixes I usually only find one setting playable in terms of hotkeys, hud depth and convergeance for example, and then we have the issues that can arise from different windows versions, 3dmigoto versions ect. Which leads me to always needed a fine control over how fixes are installed/updated.
However for more global things like control of how stereo works, activation between clean driver updates and registry settings, this app is a godsend for me now and means I no longer have to rely on some of the more outdated tools.

@Necropants: Sorry, NPI and GF3DPM are the only ways I currently know of for backuping driver profiles.
Yes, that's still a problem that some customized settings can be lost when installing a driver profile via Nvidia Profile Inspector. When importing .nip files in Nvidia Profile Inspector it will generally reset all settings in the current driver profile to factory default. Then only those settings defined in the .nip file will be set in the driver. Sadly this is how Nvidia Profile Inspector seems to work and I can't change this currently (Maybe pinging the author of Nvidia profile inspector for a feature request?). An option for keeping already customized settings in the driver profile which are not included in the .nip file would be great. Mostly 3D Fix Manager only uses .nip files for swapping profiles (mostly DX9 games need this and the user is asked for his confirmation before installing these). Currently about 100 profiles of 800 in 3D Fix Manager use .nip files. So I can understand if you want to have control about your profiles as you want to keep your own settings. Best way as I said in a previous post would be if I would use NVAPI like 3dmigoto does for changing driver profiles. Also a message window with information which specific settings will be changed in the driver profile would be perfect. But this would be really a lot of (too much) work I think. However generally I'm interested to have a look in NVAPI as it seems to be a very powerful and flexible tool.
@Tothepoint2: I've send you an e-mail as PM doesn't work :)

Version 1.35 released!
Change Notes:
[.]New: On / off switch for Nvidia stereoscopic 3D function in top right corner. This feature is made globally available now because it's one of the most important functionalities (previously it was too hidden in Nvidia 3D Settings tab)[/.]
[.]New: Change desktop refresh rate when application is closed - this feature is available in "Nvidia 3D Settings" tab[/.]
[.]New: Further translations for French version (thanks to greatxerox!)[/.]
[.]New: More detailed message dialog when a driver profile is being installed via Nvidia Profile Inspector. User gets informed about profile swaps and which profiles are affected.[/.]
[.]Changed: Improved performance for loading fix descriptions by caching images in main memory[/.]
[.]Changed: Fix descriptions won't be loaded any more if GUI is set to compact mode as descriptions wouldn't be visible in this mode anyway. This improves loading time.[/.]
[.]Changed: "About" tab title is also visible now when changing to compact gui mode[/.]
[.]Bugfix: User defined game exe is not overwritten any more when doing fix profile updates[/.]
After this update I will scale back a little bit as I want to spend more time in another project. However maintenance and smaller updates for 3D Fix Manager will continue. Especially for fix profiles I'll always make things available for everyone after I have optimized something. For example yesterday I've optimized Dead Space 2 fix profile. This game needs flares and VSync to be off in game settings (otherwise you have a 30 fps cap). Vsync is then forced with Nvidia Profile Inspector for this game - so you have tearing free gameplay and 60 fps. All steps are automated for this game with 3D Fix Manager now.

Nice update, as usual !
Lol Paul, i have to continue french translation now, you make me pressure :D
there is sooooooooooo lines to translate ! i have to kick me to wake me up.
For minecraft, do you think the changes you made are working ? If i uninstall / reinstall, do you think minecraft will use 3Dvision automaticely ?
it's not necessary but do you think to add features from Flawless Widescreen in 3DFix manager ? or integrate all the Flawless widescreen on it, in order to get an "all-in-one" tool ?
http://3dsurroundgaming.com/index.html
there is also the old "WideScreen Fixer v662". i remember than "Sonic generations" fix was unable to work for me, but the Flawless widescreen fix, for the same game, was working.

Thx :). Lol for me it's practicing my French vocabulary when I see your translations. My French really rusted a bit. Mon dieu. Sacre bleu! ;).
For Minecraft it's all a bit weird xD. The fix has to be copied to the java install directory and not to the game directory. However it's possible that the user has 2 different versions of java installed at the same time (32bit and 64bit). For me it only worked when installing the fix to the 64bit directory in C:\program files\Java...\ (not program files(x86)!). 3D Fix Manager will copy the fix to the 64 bit directory whenever possible. I would recommend just to install the Java Runtime Environment 64 bit version and nothing else. Then I would make sure to let 3D Fix Manager swap Profile to Max Payne 3 for 3D kicking in. Also make sure that "Enable 3D in windowed mode" is enabled in "Settings -> Nvidia 3D Settings" tab. The app also enables Mike's Shader pack automatically. Just have another try if it works this time.
For 3dsurround fixes - how complicated is it to install those fixes? Is this only copying the files to the game directory or is it required to set up each one individually?

@Pauldusler:
For the Surround fixes, you don't need to install anything actually, just run the tool, select the game profile, configure it and run the game. Is a run-time fix;) (There are other games that require swapping .exe files)
For FWS (Flawless Widescreen): Hayden @ WSGF is the creator of the tool. The only integration I see with WSF is to automatically start the tool and that is it. WSF is automatically as possible: You just select the plugin for the game, configure it and leave WSGF running in the background.
For WSF (WideScreen Fixer): Dopefish @ WSGF was the creator of the tool. I think the latest version is on GitHub: https://github.com/dlrudie/WidescreenFixer/releases
This tool works a bit differently then FWS as you can only have one game profile active at a time.
As for integrating the full engine from either tools in 3D Manager, it will be a big big pain:
- FWS is written in C++ and has a LUA Engine and interpreter for the fixes/plugins.
- WSF is written in C#
- Both of them do real-time code injection and Assembly manipulation.
- I can remember which also has an x86/x64 ASM compiler.
I think it would be just easier if a user just "double-clicks" or makes a .BAT, PS1, etc if they want to make it a bit more auto ;)
The source code fo FWS is also not open source and I don't know if Hayden would be interested in this, without asking him:)

@helifax Because, in the site you speak about Widescreen Fixer v662, the second link goes to this outdated release. As you said, the last release is v3.4 r737 :)
your signature is "Inactive Account" ???

that's strange, 3DFix manager detects my "Assassin's creed unity" but the game hasn't be fixed by Helixmod. Of course, the sheet is empty.
Assassin's creed unity topic : https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/788106/3d-vision/assassins-creed-unity/6/
the game "ARAYA [DX11]" isn't detected by 3DFix manager
maybe it's because the instructions are special
Instructions:
- Extract where Araya.exe is located (\ARAYA)
- In your Steam library, right click on the game and select "Properties" Click "Set Launch Options".
In the box, type "-window-mode exclusive" without the "".
- Start the game, when "Rundll32" prompt appear, press "Yes". This is for the Profile Override needed for this game.

Ah ok so it would be probably the best just to add those 2 programs to the auto start of Windows to have them always running in the background?
Assassin's Creed Unity has no 3D fix but I created a profile for it if the user wants to play it in fake 3D (compatibility mode). Nvidia added a value (0x10000102) for the CM flag in the driver profile at least.
For Araya the instructions do not affect the detection of the game. Do you have search paths enabled and Steam library path added there (because I think Registry detection fails for you)? For detecting via search paths it's enough when 3D Fix Manager finds a Folder "Araya" and inside of the folder it must find "Araya.exe" file - then the game is being detected. So it's always a combination of finding the folder name and the exe name inside of the folder - just to explain how search paths work. So it's also possible to fake having a game installed by just creating an empty folder and a 0 kb sized game exe (both with correct names).

@Masterotaku:
@Helifax:
Great job!

As DHR and greatxerox have observed, your 3D Fix Manager is a product of professional quality which often exceeds expectations. It's essentially a corporate level product, done a shoestring budget.
Glad to know that you're feeling at least a tad more optimistic about things as a result.

Change Notes:
After this update I will scale back a little bit as I want to spend more time in another project. However maintenance and smaller updates for 3D Fix Manager will continue. Especially for fix profiles I'll always make things available for everyone after I have optimized something. For example yesterday I've optimized Dead Space 2 fix profile. This game needs flares and VSync to be off in game settings (otherwise you have a 30 fps cap). Vsync is then forced with Nvidia Profile Inspector for this game - so you have tearing free gameplay and 60 fps. All steps are automated for this game with 3D Fix Manager now.

there is sooooooooooo lines to translate ! i have to kick me to wake me up.

The source code fo FWS is also not open source and I don't know if Hayden would be interested in this, without asking him:)

the game "ARAYA [DX11]" isn't detected by 3DFix manager
maybe it's because the instructions are special
