I believe the recommendation is to use AC2 or AC3's profile.

I have just reinstalled the drivers. [Note to self: bung an .exe onto a profile so the profile doesn't vanish!] I would like to try that enable/disable suggestion. I was under the impression profiles can affect performance. Is that true?

From memory (based on what was said in this thread), I'm not sure the profiles affect performance in AC4, though you'll want to have it on a working profile so SLI is functional. I'd personally try AC3 first as that's closest to AC4 in terms of the engine. I helped out with the testing of this fix, and it seemed to work just fine with SLI on the AC4 profile for me, so...I don't know why the change is recommended. Maybe the original profile breaks some extra shaders or something.

No idea. Just reinstalled the graphics drivers and all now works. I guess I should have reinstalled the gfx drivers as soon as I put the SLI connector on! (I reinstalled yesterday when I had the cards but not the connector.) AC4 runs so much sweeter in SLI. Thanks for your help bruv! :)
I helped out with the testing of this fix, and it seemed to work just fine with SLI on the AC4 profile for me, so...I don't know why the change is recommended. Maybe the original profile breaks some extra shaders or something.
Hi - yes the original profile is bugged. It messes up reflections in a way that means they cannot be fixed (it applies a stereo shift for each eye but in the *same* direction, instead of one being left and one being right). I think it is the depth buffer stuff, the same problem is in Saints Row 4. I've only ever seen this once before in Overlord and the only solution there was to change profile. I tried to avoid this by forcing render target properties to stereo/mono etc but nothing worked. This is what I put in the instructions on the helixblog: "2. This fix requires that you either remove the AC4 profile using Nvidia Inspector, or set it to AC2, else the fix for reflections does not work. If you use the AC2 profile then you will be able to save settings, set SLI bits etc, but this might interfere with playing AC2..." I suggest AC2 because that was 'benign' and did not screw the game up in any other way. Using Aion for example destroyed the 3D rendering completely. Using AC2 allows settings to be saved. I will update the blogpost when I get home to provide the SLI bits that can be set in the AC2/alternative profile.

I'm playing the game now using the AC4 profile and in SLI It seems to work now. Pirateguybrush suggests toggling the 3D to fix the shadows and that worked a treat! The only issues I have now is the target retical for the morter cannon and a funny reflection effect in present day. Is this the reflection you are discussing? If so, I had the same issue with AC2 profile... On my rig config, I am not seeing much difference between profiles now tbh. EDIT The physX smoke shadows are 2D too.
Yeah using AC4 profile requires you to change the separation/convergence to make it snap into action for some reason. Whats wrong with the mortar cannon reticle - is it screen depth? It might be shader I missed. As long as you have the 0.67 version, and not using the AC4 profile the reflections are much much better than if you use the AC4 profile, but they are still a bit wrong. Smoke shadows are also a known issue - in the release notes. I've not had chance to look at that either.

If people are sure profiles don't affect performance, I'll revert to AC2. ;)

I need help, concerning the "windows update" because my windows is a sack of *** and i cant install that update for a month already, doing reinstalls of windows and that sort of things. but it still isnt "applicable to my computer" any help on circling around it, or copying important files, regkeys from that update? Any help would be appreciated

It's needed because of the tool set we are using for 3Dmigoto, so I don't think I'll be able to make a change there that will alleviate the need for it. For your Windows install, maybe give me more information. That patch is for SP1 only, so if you don't have SP1 installed, this patch won't run. Outside of that, I haven't heard of any problems. I don't think it is automatically installed, I think you need to download it directly. Another possibility might be to delete the dxgi.dll file from the 3Dmigoto install. That file is not strictly necessary, and I think might be the piece that conflicts with the non-KB version of the OS. Worth a try anyway.
