lol, it would be awesome to use a stair stepper with a VR version of "The Stairway to Heaven"
El Camino Del Rey or the Hiking Trail on Mount Huashan might be awesome VR experiences also.

Yeah Conan I did read that. Gabe responded in a tweet but still doesn't really answer the question.

Say what you want about AMD but if it wasn't for them and mantle I doubt there would have been the direct X 12 performance boost we should be getting in games soon.
That any everything DMan said.
The only mistake they have made recently is not putting HDMI 2 on there fury cards and touting them as 4K.
Not good for people gaming on 4K TV's (unless you have a Panasonic with displayport), which is probably higher than people game on 4K monitors. Also no good if you go through an AVR too.
The new hit man is supposed to be fully directX 12 game that actually performs better than direct X 12.
Closed ecosystems in companies like apple work well as they have support from the people who have the keys.
Nvidia lock it down this amazing tech then forget about it, leaving it to rot away.
I'd take open standards over closed standards with no support any day.
Congratulations on the preorder. I can't wait!
People are going crazy as someone has found something in the portal VR demo....

Valve announce 'the lab' set in the portal universe for free!
http://www.destructoid.com/valve-announces-free-vr-experience-the-lab-set-in-portal-universe-347167.phtml
I guess we'll find out next week.
Might be the VR equivalent of Wii sports or Nintendo land at least but my hopes are high.
How old is the portal tech demo? At least a year.
They've had loads of time to do something big.

At least a reassuring news! Room Vr will start with the Lab and will make everybody allright about it. Why not trust the guys whom behind Portal and Vive ?

Yeah, I agree, this is the news I've been waiting for.
Valve don't like to hype up games either. I get a feeling this is going to be bigger than it sounds after its revealed.
Free too which is a bonus.
So now we get job simulator, fantastic contraption, tilt brush and now the lab!
4 games is a good deal.
Just need to buy hoverjunkers and audio surf and I'm set for a while!
I still want to try star wars and battlefield 4 in VR, even if it means I have to go through fighter pilot like training to get over any motion sickness, like they do to get used to G's!
Will the VR headsets be able to use 3D SBS? Will we be able to use the helix mod 3D fixes in VR?
Could someone answer that question please as I keep asking if but never get a response.
Surely someone must know?

Interesting... I see NOW you come here and ask the exact same questions I put a while ago when I said people shouldn't jump on the "hype" train and just buy VR 'cause is the latest new toy... but instead wait and see what the level of Software Support will be...
I remember you actually addressed some ugly language toward my person including swearing and other things...
So, you are not going to get an answer from me even if I had one....let alone helping you with anything...
Let's just say I have a doze of antipathy towards you...
:)

So you don't know either? Just trolling eh?
The difference is, to me, it is not a deal breaker if VR doesn't support nvidias legacy 3D tech.
It would be good to have though.
It'll be a shame if all the 3D fixes are left in the dust once VR takes off.
As little as I think of you on a personal level, I'd hate all your and the rest of the communities work to go to waste, as you all do a great job.
I wouldn't ask for your help with anything Helifax but thanks for pointing out you wouldn't anyway!
Doesn't come off as bitter and twisted at all!

Why on Earth would VR need to support 3D vision? VR is already stereoscopic just like 3D vision. Do you want your 3D to be 3D or something? I think some folks are confused. VR displays a 3D VR image across 2 eyes for a stereoscopic 3D effect which is what 3D vision does with the glasses.

@Astrodave
Actually your misinformed it is VERY POSSIBLE and has HAPPENED. There is already games being converted to VR similar to 3D vision. Its just a matter of hacking FOV and emulating mouse controls to head tracking. There is a software called Vorpx for this.
Also just cause its VR display does not mean it can not be used for standard stereoscopic 3D gaming.
Basically it doesn't use the fullness of display and pretty much "projects" a 16:9 output of game onto screen.
If you look at xbox support on oculus rift. Same thing.

Anywho, NVIDA has opened a VR Section of FORUMS lets all move there.

Vorpx developer has stated he will add in vive support as soon as he gets his hands on one.

That's the head tracking and warping covered!
We also now have our own Nvidia VR forums! :D
I'm not sure head tracking will ever work properly in games not designed for VR: AFAIK, Mouse movement would never be able to account for head roll (mouse can only be mapped to pitch and yaw). This would kill immersion :(
