Just bought 3d Vision 2 Kit and facing first problems.
1 / 2
Hello,
Last time, I was asking if my PC will be good enough for 3d Vision - there I am, with the kit.
Everything what do I connect to PC, is recognized by the system (Win 10, 64bit).
BUT, when I try to go through setup wizard, launched from nvidia control panel I'm facing first problems.
Do you remember the test with figures? My glassess are turning on (can see that by that the screen goes more dark) and actually it doesn't matter which eye I'll close, at every each one len, I can see both images.
Second image seems good to me. But im not sure if it should be like that but anyway I can see what I should (what's described above that test picture).
Anyway I tried to run 2 games so far - 3d enables, but at first game which is Civilization 6 i can see like two images , which I guess should be made into one (my glassess are on), and another one is Rise of The Tomb Raider - The screen goes more red&blue, but still I can see everything separately.
Looks like glassess are not detecting anything or something.
Another thing is that, when I change my refresh rate to 120Mhz on my ACER GN246HL,
(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009642)
, the whole screen goes a little bit down. So at the top of the monitor, I can see like 2cm black strap, and can't see the taskbar in the bottom.
Anyone could give me any advice please?
IR emitter is connected in the back of my pc to USB3.0 slot (the only kind which I have),
I am on GF 1060 Zotax 6gb DDR5.

Run DDU, perform a clean driver install. That black strip has me wondering if your monitor has a hardware fault though... does it do that with 3d disabled?

You were right, It had some problems with the lower rate of refreshing.
After uninstalling all the drivers with guru, system rebooted and monitor went to lower hertz rate...
Nothing was the displayed correctly, as I have seen only few colours flickering on the screen...
Disconnecting power supply and connecting it back solved the problem.
I guess the problem occured after updating today the GeForce Expierience drivers.
While it was installing and screen went black for a second I have seen the same thing for a while, but after that it went back again to 144hz I think.
Will install newest drivers now and I'll check if it works on 60hz.

What games are you running?
I notice Witcher 3 on the desktop which might be a good test game because it is stella in 3D. You will need to install the fix though found here http://helixmod.blogspot.co.uk/2016/06/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt.html.
I think you should get away with just dumping the files and folders in TW3's exe directory because you aren't SLIing. If you are running more than one gfx card then obviously follow Helifax's instructions. :)

So you guess that I should ignore the setup wizard from nvidia which is showing me that obviously my 3d is not working properly?
Nevermind about the setup wizard, it works brilliant after reinstalling all the drivers.
Gonna check in game.

My god... Just played a Rise of The Tomb Raider my GF save and it's amazing... Wondered for a while if it is still the same game :D
What is wrong with witcher without fixes ? I can see only something wrong when I set the depth for more than a half.
Remember to eventually adjust your settings to make sure they are giving you the best 3D. For realistic looking 3D make sure the separation between objects that are furthest away matches you IPD (eye to eye distance).
Most games require some fixing. Sometimes certain things can be rendered only for 2D if the game wasn't designed with 3D in mind. Shadows for example may appear as if they are on your screen rather than where they are on the world. There are fixes for most games.

Are you sure you are not running in compatibility mode?
Witcher 3 is pretty broken without the fix, for real 3d.
Also The original problem I experience the same thing with my monitors. What monitor are you using?
I usually have to go into the advanced display parameters and make sure it's running at 120hz to resolve this problem. Occasionally it needs a reboot as well. Also Vsync appears to make this problem manifest.
I have reached the conclusion it's something to do with the Gsync implementation for my monitor because when this happens it keeps trying to turn itself on.

Most games require a fix. You'll find them on the forums (for in-development fixes), or mostly on the Helixmod blog. Always check for a fix before trying to play a game in 3D, you'll save yourself a lot of headaches (literally).

Thank for your suggestions guys, will try to fix Witcher in a while.
By the way, did you experience problems like when you are turning off any game that uses 3d vision, then your screen is just blank black? I have that issue with HoTS only so far. Other games are running and quitting properly.
Indicator lamp on my monitor ACER GN246HL goes light green when it turns into 3d mode, and then on quitting the game it turns back to blue light, but after playing HoTS in 3d, it goes blue, but screen stays black - can't do anything. But music from YT or any other apps are still running there.

Just did that thing, and it looks way better without compatibility mode which I am turning off.
Without compatibility mode I am hitting like 42 FPS, what can I lower to gain more FPS?
For now I am running on 1920x1080 , everything uber, Nvidia HairWorks ON on everything at "4".
Ambient Oclussion is switched OFF, and Sharpen is set to LOW, as I don't like it personally.
What can i decrease what will not affect the graphics a lot and will gave me more fps to hit these 60?
Maybe in Vellen or Skellig it will be 60, but I'm in Toussaint, so I guess there is more of everything :P
Put grass distance to a lower setting and completely disable Hairworks. Disable antialiasing if it's on. Other than that, the rest of your remaining settings don't affect performance a lot. You can also use a lower resolution, but tht will look ugly.

What about the depth which I can controll ? Should even change it if it looks good to me ?
Cause for example I just installed a fix (helix) for Dying Light, and what I can say is that, unless Ill set the depth to minimum, shadows are shown incorrectly.
Should I change the depth in the games that were requiring a fix?
Obviously some of them need it cause they look incorrectly, but some of them even after a fix like Dying Light still have some problems.

According to the helixmod blog post, shadows in Dying Light should be correct (I don't have that game). Have you installed the fix correctly?
About depth, keep increasing it over time to get used to 100%. Then you won't be able to go back ;). If community fixes fix most of the effects, you shouldn't have trouble with 100% depth.
