If anyone's curious why I do all the talk about settings/optimizations. Far Cry 3 is pretty much the main reason. If you haven't played it yet or plan to replay it I talk about it. Errr.. Wierd issues are happening. That didnt a month ago.

Big thanks for the AA settings for Far Cry 3, I was surprised how few people complained about this. I too play this game in 720p, in 1080p / 24 it's incredibly slow, I don't know why, and on 720p it has eye bleeding horrible aliasing, to the point that I stopped playing the game, so those settings will help me a lot.

Sigh, wrote instructions a month ago apparently it has some new issues http://www.whoisjimothy.com/public/sweetfx/ His settings look perfect... they still do. Turn on 3d and it breaks. Ill add different weak instructions till I can figure it out. If anyone can figure this out that would be awesome. Seriously, it was jag free.

Wow... My personal solution with wierd 3d vision issues that shouldnt happen. Reinstall driver. Works fine now. Anywho.. If you are like birthright you know AA in Far Cry 3 is garbage especially if on 720p. Using nvidia inspector this is what it looks like at 720P. https://s3.amazonaws.com/ramblings3d/Far+Cry+3/Sequence+01.mp4 [LOL my cd key is in video.... did not notice that. Not that I care. I cracked game so I dont deal with ubisoft] In really heavy scenes I personally can dip down to low 40's in framerate in 3D. I personally decide to cut aa in half which is still very effective instead and I really like to ride around 60 frame rate. Game was a huge mess of jags in my first time, I didnt wait for a better solution and just settled for in-game aa which doesnt work. Was very unhappy, then I gave game another shot with new aa settings and was wow'd. So try it out if you want to play far cry 3.

I really appreciate the NVidiaInspector, SMAA, and SweetFX suggestions. You really have to search around on Guru3D.com to find these otherwise. When playing on a 720p projector, they make all the difference and really gets rid of jaggies. I'm playing through Mass Effect 3 for the first time right now, and this game is incredible when played in 3D using forced SGSSAA, the SMAA Injector, and the Helix fix. It makes me want to replay the entire trilogy this way, with the addition of hi-rez texture packs.

Yup, every UE3 game looks just like that. Soooo smooth, finding jags becomes like where's waldo. Games generally suffer consoleitis but the cost for AA is ridiculously cheap since games generally don't have optimization issues. Its just something you got to get into the mind set of doing. Its part of the reason I got so annoyed at Far Cry 3. That game looks terrible with in-game AA. Not even in 1080P is it smooth. Im waiting to replay ME1/2 on those settings (I recommend waiting, read comments at bottom of me3 helix post and see)

With ME1 I can turn on Override in the Control panel and crank it to 16xQ. Don't know if that's any better than 8Q since I'm using Override instead of Enhance and I don't know if ME renders to the backbuffer, but that's a whole other discussion. At any rate.. looks rather good at this setting unless those thin line aliasing issues bother you (mainly only see it onboard the Normandy).

Just added comments to loads of your reviews. Good luck with the site, enjoyed reading it. Just read the comments from Helix about ME and sounds great. Think I'll wait then do another playthrough 1. I haven't bought 2 or 3 yet but have an inckling that I will be soon.

It took me forever to getting around to buying ME2 (got ME3 right at release)... Ohhhh man, you're in for a fun ride. Especially with all the 3D hiccups worked out at this point.
I'm going through ME2 right now. It is an improvement over ME1 in some ways, but I'm playing through the series as a female Shepard and it really bugs me how they changed the animations (or DIDN'T change) them when playing with a female character. It was fun watching her run around in ME1. In ME2 she runs like a heavy masculine clod. It was such a jarring difference from the first game, when I first started playing, I thought the masculine/feminine animations must have gotten mixed up for a second!

I know what you mean. The conversation posture is all the same as well as far as I know. If you wear the skirt she spread eagles/"Presents" alot when talking to men. Because shepard as a man was very "suave" when talking to females. But with men, shepard is laid back/relaxed posture. Its a bit worse because women take the lead with male shepard. But female shepard is vice versa which makes the presenting even more funny. Seriously I cant play Female Shepard as a paragon. She's very masculine and something about voice actor that doesn't fit Paragon. Might be my own bias on that one though but she only seems to work as a bit of a brute.
