You're more like a 3D 'Pimp Daddy,' and you know it!
And those contacts at NV are your, (consults urban dictionary) I believe the term is 'Bizz-Nitchessss?' - Yes - it is:)
It is I, but a lowly slave, a slave to the one true god above all us dregs, he shows us the way but ignorance and laziness have begun spreading like a 'mind controlled' cancer; and we few among many have sworn to stay true, true to the best form of next-gen visual stimulation, our own, Nvidi'Heli-Bo3b 3D Vision!
We are refugees from a 'Civil' War, of sorts: Nvidia Creates nice tech, deemed industry leading, and has a good rep. NV dropped the ball one too many times, the community absorbed some mistakes over the early years, but these incidents numerically are well within acceptable failure % range -
But today, we the community, armed with the many scraps NV has left us, as each of the various sub-dept's were getting less and less funding, and as a result, most of the features that we, Nvidia loyalists, have come to use, love, except and eventually even DEPEND on, are longer being supported either officially (3D vision) or unofficialy, (SLI).
Combine that with the current state of AAA Games (or any ...), like (GTA)V and Batman AK - which both behave eerily similar, and it adds up to not an answer, but another question, THE question.
Why, in the YEAR 2015, DON'T we have flawless symmetry between the major game developers and the drivers of the GPU's they run on. I know you can't expect them to prepare for every PC config, and all the other tired arrogant arguments, but I DO expect them to maintain & support the core products they produce.
Either way, people are starting to wake up a bit and corp's all over the world have felt the balance shift, just a tad, but it was enough. Next, the gen. public will gain some momentum, I say good-4-them.

Hey friends, I haven't followed this thread for quite a while, so please forgive me for my stupid question.
Could anyone tell me where we stand at the moment with the turning off 3D bug? Or is it somewhere explained on the last 20 pages?
Thanks a lot guys and please don't be mad that I am not going through all last 30 pages. :)

I don't believe there is a specific "fix" to prevent it from happening. But, it has been stated a few times throughout this thread that if the 3D drops out, you can go into the options menu and either change the refresh rate, or turn VSync On/Off, and 3D will be restored.

Hi, I still got the same problems : crash in 3D after 10-15 minutes playing ...ethen with the latest drivers 353.30...Its' so frustrating, because 3D is gorgeous, but what is the fun playing with the stress to not finish the mission ? I have to play ten times a mission hoping to succeed it ...
I sent 3 support tickets to Rockstar, useless, I lost my time :-) Such a pity that it 's a game 3D vision compatible, not working and there a plenty others, not 3D native, working with helixmod fixes ....
Could we hope a solution, by rockstar, Nvidia or the people working on mod fixes ? I hope so, I cross the fingers, it's a must to play this game with 3D ...Still hoping and waiting for a solution. Thank you...

I think there is a good chance we'll get a resolution to the crashing bug, I've reported that to both R* and Nvidia with easy to reproduce steps. I've been taunting the R* support to actually try it instead of doing the stupid try-this-try-that bullshit support they give, and might have broken through. Given that's 100% reproducible now, I think it's only a matter of time.
For the 3D dropouts, I know for sure that NVidia knows about this problem and has been looking at it. No ETA or other details, but they've seen it in GTA5 and are looking.
In the interim, I can play without crashing by lowering my settings as described above by me and ToThePoint. I'd rather play with low settings and no crashes, but everyone is different.
There is no solid solution at the moment, these are all compromises.

I decided against buying GTA5 at release date and I´m still happy about that.
It´s horrible reading these troubleshooting madness amd I dont want to play 3D Vision this way.
Its a shame Nvidia and Rockstar whats happening to 3D Vision. I wont spend any Cent to rockstar without stable 3D Vision support.

What I ended up doing yesterday that made the game stable without crashing:
This on single Screen and single GPU (880M):
- in nvidia inspector -> overclocking
- I set my GPU base clock and Boost GPU clock -39Mhz (from 954Mhz stat is stock).
- Voltages were left the same.
I was able to play 2h (with all settings cranked up) and no crashing. Previously it was crashing after 5-10 minutes with "Stopped responding message". 3D Vision still dropped though.... But settings-> change refresh rate -> Apply and back in business.
Maybe someone else can try something like this and see if they get similar results?
PS: This is on the hotfix 353.38

Not to be harsh, but I don't believe anything unless you can pass Bo3b's GTA5 Stability Challenge. We've had at least 30 other suggestions in this thread alone on things that seemed to help, but didn't pan out.
Now that we have a stability test, we can do proper QA on our experiments.
It's easy, just use your settings that you think are working, and let it run overnight with 200 benchmarks in the loop. If you can pass that, you are really onto something.
Use the commandline.txt from http://sg.bo3b.net/gtav/crash/commandline.txt
Quick question, will sli still work on GTA5 with this driver? I mean I know scaling will definitely not be as good but if I'm losing 10-15% performance then I can live with that if 3D Vision works without crashing.
Sorry but I completely missed your question to me a few pages back. As you perhaps might have read earlier in this thread, SLI works for me on all of my games including this one, but worryingly it didn't work for bo3b when he decided to install the driver that I'm currently using, in order to try to run GTA V.
As I've mentioned on other threads, I've deliberately not updated either Win 7 or 8 on my dual-boot rig since their installation, as I didn't want to add unknown variables that might have had a negative impact on my system's gaming functionality for want of a better term. Whether or not that actually made the difference between bo3b's experience with GTA V in SLI and my own, is still unclear, and I wouldn't necessarily recommend not regularly updating your own operating system, but I've certainly been happy with my decision so far. SLI scaling for me was at roughly 60%. Not brilliant, but just enough to make my game playable on very high settings and at a decent enough frame rate as well. So working SLI definitely paid for itself on this occasion. As bo3b has already advised, it's probably best to hold off committing just yet and simply wait and see if he get's any significant response through his own enquires.
3D works well on my GTAV on the newest drivers. I'm running Win 8.1 with the Asus Mars 760x2... However... it seems to periodically de-sync a little bit, causing odd ghosting every few seconds.
I was intrigued to read your comment. Is the intermittent ghosting bad enough to put you off playing? Because aside from that, using the newest drivers, that sounds like a pretty good result. Fancy a go at the GTA V Stability Challenge? Should you pass, bo3b will be happy to send you a signed certificate to mark your success.

Hi
tried the BM thingy using Bo3b's file. Left if running overnight.
When I came down in the morning my PC had returned to desktop. I couldn't find the log files.
Any idea?
Great! Thanks for giving it a try. That seems likely that the settings there were successful at 200 full runs, as otherwise you have a crash box waiting.
You can find the benchmark files here:
C:\Users\bo3b\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Benchmarks
The top one will have the accumulated runs, and will likely be the full 200.

Not to be harsh, but I don't believe anything unless you can pass Bo3b's GTA5 Stability Challenge. We've had at least 30 other suggestions in this thread alone on things that seemed to help, but didn't pan out.
Now that we have a stability test, we can do proper QA on our experiments.
It's easy, just use your settings that you think are working, and let it run overnight with 200 benchmarks in the loop. If you can pass that, you are really onto something.

I was intrigued to read your comment. Is the intermittent ghosting bad enough to put you off playing? Because aside from that, using the newest drivers, that sounds like a pretty good result. Fancy a go at the GTA V Stability Challenge? Should you pass, bo3b will be happy to send you a signed certificate to mark your success.

tried the BM thingy using Bo3b's file. Left if running overnight.
When I came down in the morning my PC had returned to desktop. I couldn't find the log files.
Any idea?
