1. run regedit.exe
2. go to L.A. Noire profile ( Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D\GameConfigs\LANoire )
3. delete Time (Name: Time, Type: REG_DWORD)
4. set StereoConvergence to 0x408a8cf8 (Name: StereoConvergence, Type: REG_DWORD, Data: 0x408a8cf8)
5. copy the hacked nvapi.dll to the L.A. Noire installation folder.
6. freely change convergence value using your keyboard shortcuts.
I could make some screenshots with awesome convergence, but I don't know how.
btw: my hacked nvapi.dll disables the convergence API, so any game where you put this DLL in can't set a hard coded convergence value anymore. I don't know if NVidia approves this, but I'm happy..

I can navigate the regedit to the LANoire profile but don't see any items named "Time" and "StereoConvergence". Sorry if this sounds noobish but can they possibly be hidden ? If yes, how do I see them ? Also, I downloaded the nvapi.dll in the link. Assuming I can change the items above, do I simply drop the whole .dll into th install folder ? Thanks for any replies; I really want to adjust convergence on this game as the default really sucks.

Actually dropping the .dll in the installation directory should be enough but I'm not quite sure about the settings. In my case I followed the directions from Andrews first post ( http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=215207&view=findpost&p=1322300 ) and then had to do the mentioned changes to actually be able to modify the settings. Maybe a settings save while playing and then a restart of the game also does the trick.

I tried what you suggested and it worked. Thanks for the suggestion. I then downloaded the latest Beta drivers, the ones which rate the game as 3D Vision-Ready, and re-installed the game to see what happens. Everything works and I have to admit it looks pretty good in the game world but there are still serious convergence problems with the notebook, during interviews, cutscenes, etc. I wouldn't call it 3D Vision-ready. Good to excellent, maybe.

This might be a bit off-topic, but I'm curious if this 3D profile would work with GTAIV as well. I think I read somewhere that the engines are pretty similar.
The only problem is that I can't figure out how to change the .exe of GTAIV while still being able to launch the game. Any advice?

as i see you're back from posts on other thread, i really would like to know if we can expect sli support for this game soon as i only have gtx 460 sli and one card is not enough to get a steady 30fps experience in 3d vison...i tried a lot of tweaks (1 card/ sli AFR1/AFR2/ custom profiles from gta iv or forums) but none of them really improved the experience ...

Does anybody know if the game has a blur effect to reduce the impact of 30fps caps. Im considering getting the game but im concerned that the cap will result in reduced gameplay enjoyment.

The profile update isn't really necessary. It plays just fine in 3D without it. The convergence is locked but other than that no anomilies. I am more concerned about a SLI profile since at this point it does not support it.
I do agree (even though I now have learned to have patience with Nvidia) let's not advertise something if it is not ready. "3D vision in the future" would suffice.

Nvidia are the guys who where happy and worked with the developer to ensure the 3d for witcher 2 would be "3d vision ready". It only took three months after its release for it to work, basically don't listen to anything Andrew says and take it as a given without confirmation from other sources. He may be a great guy (I don't know him so can't say) but he is simply unreliable at best.

I came here hoping for a fix, but instead I'll just leave a reply that turning on 3D in LA Noire turns the game absolutely sluggish and unplayable. The 3D looks amazing but taking a couple of steps takes ages. I'm using 285.62 drivers because the latest beta drivers seem to break 3dtv play for me.

i found this to solved the laggy and low fps (limit to 30fps for game devs) of this game. Tested with fraps, now stay always in 30fps (3D or no 3D)
create a shortcut from the file LAnoire.exe and add "-str -npd" to the shortcut (with no "")
%\L.A. Noire\LANoire.exe" -str -npd
Run the game with this shorcut
The game has a lot of performance issues, some times when i press Start (main menu,i play with 360 controller.) and return to game, it impossible to play because the low fps. But if i press Start (main menu) and return to the game 2 o 3 times, the game runs fine (30fps)....WTF.

Convergence fix: http://www.multiupload.com/1QX0ZM4GV3
1. run regedit.exe
2. go to L.A. Noire profile ( Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D\GameConfigs\LANoire )
