The Evil update is not installed on Win 8.1 and can thus not be removed. My guess it's part of the OS. Unless I'm mistaken.

Yes, unfortunately the code in the Evil Update has been incorporated into the OS in 8.1, so there is no way to remove it. That is the also the source of the problems with 3D on 8.1, because they changed the DXGI API in negative ways. The intent of the Evil Update is to give Win7 parity with that 8.1 API for people who need it. But it also causes problems on Win 7 sometimes as well. If you think back 9 months or so before 3Dmigoto was operational, there was a crashing bug that only a few people had, which prevented them from being able to use the AC3 fix. With long and tedious logging debugging, I finally worked out that it was the Evil Update that was causing the DXGI calls in 3Dmigoto to fail. Since then, I've removed the dependency on DXGI altogether, by using an odd override of the Draw method (we are supposed to use the Present() method, but Microsoft ruined that). So it seems like a simpler and more stable approach, and allowed 3Dmigoto to work on 8.1 (DA:I notwithstanding).

I don't think you can expect backwards compatability when writing a wrapper. It is too low level. I wonder if you could do the hunting checks at the same time as updating stereo textures. Hunting is disabled in my wrapper for the moment, planning to rewrite it. The evil update is pretty big as far as I can tell. You once wondered about running both ASM fixes and HLSL fixes. This is possible now using both of our wrappers as my wrapper now works with both types of fixes. If we're really doing it I will probably need to get hunting working again so you can work more effectively. Primarily thinking of refreshing shaders that are actively being worked on.

It is public on my OneDrive link in my signature. Just need to updated to the latest dll. I know it's not the best way to publish but it works. Edit: the reason for PM was to help installing the wrapper if needed.

I tried the latest version from your website under windows 7 and it just quits to desktop 2 seconds later:( I do have the d3dcompiler_46.dll file (from 3DMigoto) near the wrapper... I guess is not working under Win7 ? or am I missing something ?;))

Did you download the d3dcompiler_47.dll from my OneDrive. d3dcompiler_47.dll is there already if you're running 8.1 that's why it's outside the zip file. If you can't see the file I guess I'll have to zip it. Come to think of it I have not tried it much in Windows 7, was using 32-bit secondary boot for 16-bit support.

I am running the FX 8350 with 8gb RAM and a 760x2(dual gpu card) Asus Mars on Windows 8.1. I am more than willing to test for you, however I'm not sure what set of instructions to follow. Please give me a solid set of instructions to follow and I will give you all the feedback you want.

Just finished Inquisition (including Jaws of Hakkon) using Windows 8.1 (i7-4960X @4.3 GHz, 16 GB, OC GTX980). I used 3D Vision mods at 64-bit Games folder in Flugan web site (followed helixmod.blogspot guidance for game). Great 3D, really APPRECIATE the hard work in crafting and documenting all the game fixes! Using 3DTV Play (1080p mode), I could not obtain consistent 3D objects/textures/fixes for more than a minute or so of game play. However, after incorporating a great EDID mod for my LG 4K TV (enabling 3840x1080 for each eye at 60 fps), NVIDIA 3D display support changed to Optimized for NVIDIA GeForce 3D (not 3DTV Play) - finally stabilizing 3D object/texture display on my setup. Occasional Inquisition 3D object/texture errors still happen, but only after loading screen transitions (save game, then simply restart).

I remember trying to get it to run with the fewest amount of additional steps. I've clocked 20h while not really progressing that far into the game and also getting lost somewhere in the meantime. I'm will test the game against newer versions of the wrapper with keybinding support. Only wish I had a good way to set a convergence preset for cinematics. Still recovering from a 8TB harddisk raid 0 failure, redownloading a BUNCH. 3.5 TB recovered and ongoing.
