My Crysis 2 always crashes after ca. 2 minutes after i fired up my pc, loaded crysis 2 and started a savegame.
Killing crysis-process and restarting game the same way allows me to play without a single hickup for hours until i shut down my pc.
Funny!
The crash even happens if I played any other game before starting crysis, so it doesn't matter if pc has "warmed up"
or not!
I think it could be a driver related issue or the gamesoftware needs some tweaks...
If it is the powersupply (PSU or GC-voltage) please someone explain how the above described crash could happen
...using .50 atm....btw.: /heart.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> crysis 2=fantastic computer game!
I would just like to confirm that after several hours of experimenting that raising the voltage on my GTX 570 to 1.025 vice the stock 1.013 has cleared up freezing and crashing with DX11 and 3D. whenever I leave the voltage at stock, it happens. My GTX 570 SLI set up is only running at 52% on the CPU and 40% on my vid cards (I'm using 1280 X 720 with my projector for 3D), so the cards are not working very hard, but, the truth is in the results. Increase voltage if experiencing these problems.

I heard that Crysis 2 3D isn't the best /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Is that true?

It certainly has its critics among the 3D aficionados. Here is my opinion. Note the use of the word opinion as opposed to the emphatic statements some use which implies that they are correct and everyone else is wrong.
Crysis 2 in 3D with DX 11 i a very impressive game. If you are the type to activate 3D and play without doing more than tweaking the depth and maybe convergence, then this game will look pretty much as good as any other.
I now buy games based on their ability to work in 3D. Any games that do not support 3D just don't really interest me anymore, however, I am pretty much a play it out of the box type. I don't spend hours tweaking my games, my projector etc.

there's no reason to act like a douche, i'm just trying to help, i had the same problem when running crysis 1, the problem was the psu not providing enough or stable power through the 12v rail, try running OCCT program and checking your voltages
Ya this is a total newb error there. Luckily for us you didn't ask to check if psu is connected to the GC or worse, to check if the "On" button is pushed -_-.
Experienced two Crash To Desktops last night within the first 2 minutes of loading a game. (DX 11 3D)
Found several discussions about GTX 580s needing more than stock voltage to prevent crashes in DX 11 (mostly Crysis 2 but a few posts about other games as well)
Raised my voltage with Afterburner and played for an hour without crashing. Not conclusive, but information for others none the less.

There's indeed a problem with directx11 demanding more than the stock overclocked GPUs voltage can delive (Sorry random douche above this quote, buy underpowered newb psus and stop replying random contraproductive crap, bye).
BTW for those who don't feel comfortable about trying this fix, i had my asus engtx580 dcu II crashing in every dx11 game, bought an gigabyte gtx580 ud and tried it -> same problem (stock overclocked both).
So tried bumping voltages to 1050mV and voilà , i could finish crysis 2 in one sitting and play hours of deux ex or WoW without any problems. Go get afterburner last beta and try it out ! btw this voltage is for MY gtx580s, so go figure out how much you need with yours if you're crashing. There are 580s who can be overclocked like mad, and there are some gtx580 like mine who fall to their default overclock.....this is a shame from the manufacturers side, and i'm really thinking about rma'ing them. I didn't pay for custom coolers that perform bad. I wonder if they would replace them. Any one tried this so far ???
