I'm getting this periodically as well. Seems to be related to video card as well as driver. On the same driver I'm running now with a GTX 690, I never got the out-of-memory from the driver. Now with a GTX 970, I get it randomly. Try relaunching again, and/or rebooting. It doesn't always happen. If you can, a better bet is to roll back to older drivers that work better for GTA V.

Hello zwierzak You can avoid the annoying "out of memory" message by pressing "alt+ enter" Just when the sirens start. Game allows to switch back to fullscreen (and 3D is still on) without a restart. Just my two cents... Greetings Psykitt

Gamers with the "Out of Memory" message are using the Fix? if yes let me know, because i found that using hooking instead of wrapping fix the out of memory. I can upload a new version. Let me know.

update: "You can avoid the annoying "out of memory" message by pressing "alt+ enter" Just when the sirens start." it works for me thanks For the blue screen "3d TV", like zig11727 suggested, I Tried Crtl-F11 and colors became normal on third ctrl F11 option only (zoomed in) but whatever I saved the profile it only works in this zoomed mode, when I click again ctrl F11 for normal view or black border view colors became blue again... Not found of zoomed view but it's better than blue colors ;)

@Blacksmith56 This is the "hook" version from the fix. In my case if i use wrapper version (original) and TB/SBS Mode i have the "Out of Memory" message always (10 out of 10)....but using this Hook version don't. If you still have the Out of memory message, i think is related to another issue, try the suggestion in the previous post. https://s3.amazonaws.com/dhr/GTA.V_Hook.zip Hope this help Also the Hook version have SBS/TB modes. Remove the ";" in the ;run = CustomShader3DVision2SBS in the d3dx.ini file in the [Present] section. By default the game will start in TB mode. Press F11 to cycles modes. PS: Also i update in the blog

Thanks DHR, unfortunately it didn't work.. Tried alt+enter like suggested and every thing is OK. What a great pleasure in 70" FPS mode :)

Played this game for about 4 hours yesterday, and it was flawless in 3D. No out-of-mem, no 3d glitches, no dropouts, no crashes. On the slowish side, performance is still bottlenecked by CPU. But even though I'm only pulling some 35 fps with a single 970, it's still smooth. In case it's helpful, here are the settings that I used for at least one known good case:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Settings> <version value="27" /> <configSource>SMC_AUTO</configSource> <graphics> <Tessellation value="2" /> <LodScale value="0.800000" /> <PedLodBias value="0.200000" /> <VehicleLodBias value="0.000000" /> <ShadowQuality value="2" /> <ReflectionQuality value="2" /> <ReflectionMSAA value="0" /> <SSAO value="2" /> <AnisotropicFiltering value="16" /> <MSAA value="0" /> <MSAAFragments value="0" /> <MSAAQuality value="0" /> <SamplingMode value="0" /> <TextureQuality value="2" /> <ParticleQuality value="2" /> <WaterQuality value="1" /> <GrassQuality value="1" /> <ShaderQuality value="2" /> <Shadow_SoftShadows value="2" /> <UltraShadows_Enabled value="false" /> <Shadow_ParticleShadows value="true" /> <Shadow_Distance value="1.000000" /> <Shadow_LongShadows value="false" /> <Shadow_SplitZStart value="0.930000" /> <Shadow_SplitZEnd value="0.890000" /> <Shadow_aircraftExpWeight value="0.990000" /> <Shadow_DisableScreenSizeCheck value="false" /> <Reflection_MipBlur value="true" /> <FXAA_Enabled value="true" /> <TXAA_Enabled value="false" /> <Lighting_FogVolumes value="true" /> <Shader_SSA value="true" /> <DX_Version value="2" /> <CityDensity value="0.900000" /> <PedVarietyMultiplier value="0.800000" /> <VehicleVarietyMultiplier value="0.800000" /> <PostFX value="0" /> <DoF value="false" /> <HdStreamingInFlight value="true" /> <MaxLodScale value="0.300000" /> <MotionBlurStrength value="0.000000" /> </graphics> <system> <numBytesPerReplayBlock value="9000000" /> <numReplayBlocks value="36" /> <maxSizeOfStreamingReplay value="1024" /> <maxFileStoreSize value="65536" /> </system> <audio> <Audio3d value="false" /> </audio> <video> <AdapterIndex value="0" /> <OutputIndex value="0" /> <ScreenWidth value="1280" /> <ScreenHeight value="720" /> <RefreshRate value="50" /> <Windowed value="0" /> <VSync value="1" /> <Stereo value="1" /> <Convergence value="2.000000" /> <Separation value="100.000000" /> <PauseOnFocusLoss value="1" /> <AspectRatio value="0" /> </video> <VideoCardDescription>NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970</VideoCardDescription> </Settings>
So your confirming they perform as expected in other games? I'm chugging along in 3d surround so although I'm aware of the 3 core/cpu issue, I suspect my 970s are the bottleneck for me. In the rare cases where there's a CPU bottleneck, I'll always whack up AA to maximum or try and use DSR or anything else just to give the GPUs something extra to do when they're sitting there idle.

@ RustyK - What driver version, res, and graphical settings are you using? I am running the game in surround with a pair of 970's as well on driver version (Win 8.1 x64) 365.10. For comparison sake: RES: 5860 x 1080 (Bezel Corrected) Using All very High Settings with the following exceptions: Reflection Quality: = Ultra Soft Shadows = Sharp PostFX = HIGH AF = X16 FXAA = ON (But no other AA settings(MSAA X2 CAUSES 3D ISSUES) AMBIENT OCC (SSAO)= HIGH Tessellation = VERY HIGH No advanced settings, Except for the one related to flying which I have set to : ON I don't use the community fix cause when I do I end up with too much flickering. So, my experience with the game as of late: 1) The "USED TO'S": Used to have 3D Dropouts - Results would be a MONO experience with it MAYBE fixing itself. This has not occurred at all since I started playing the game again 2 weeks ago. Also, used to be plagued with severe 'hitches' where, for a sec or two, the game would 'freeze' then resume. This has been nearly eliminated for me, only happening when the action is really intense. 2) The ONLY issue I seem to have is a rare crash that always throws the same error: "A new guard page for the stack cannot be created" - it is rare but most certainly still an issue. 3) Performance: A very solid point to make before I share: Even at frames that tend to dip as low as 18FPS, the game still feels smooth and playable. On average, I am getting 45FPS A good portion of game time hovers around 60 FPS or higher. As hinted at, frames as lows as 19 or 20 - and a really rare 17 or 18 but this is hardly noticed and is usually very brief with no hitching. Always tweaking this game it seems, and always on the lookout for other users with similar config's or with advice/knowledge of more obscure setting tweaks, or Nvidia profile tweaks/swaps. The game is well worth the time invested but getting it 'just right' is something I will continue to strive for; but will more than likely never achieve. @DHR - Gonna try the 'GTA Hook' alt. fix and will report back later. To everyone else, hope my info is helpful just as yours has helped me exponentially over the years to achieve a never-before-thought-possible level of immersion and overall enjoyment for both myself and my son. Thank you! ~Nutz
@ RustyK -

What driver version, res, and graphical settings are you using?

I am running the game in surround with a pair of 970's as well on driver version (Win 8.1 x64) 365.10.

For comparison sake:

RES: 5860 x 1080 (Bezel Corrected)

Using All very High Settings with the following exceptions:

Soft Shadows = Sharp
PostFX = HIGH

AF = X16
FXAA = ON (But no other AA settings(MSAA X2 CAUSES 3D ISSUES)

AMBIENT OCC (SSAO)= HIGH
Tessellation = VERY HIGH

No advanced settings, Except for the one related to flying which I have set to : ON

I don't use the community fix cause when I do I end up with too much flickering.

So, my experience with the game as of late:

1) The "USED TO'S":

Used to have 3D Dropouts - Results would be a MONO experience with it MAYBE fixing itself.
This has not occurred at all since I started playing the game again 2 weeks ago.

A good portion of game time hovers around 60 FPS or higher.
