The Talos Principle
I've been having a lot of fun with this game and it works with 3D Vision pretty well right out of the box. Water reflections can look odd but, at least so far, there hasn't been a lot of water anyway so no big deal there. What has been driving me nuts is the convergence. I have to lower it quite a bit. No biggy - just fix it and save it, right? Well, when I save it the convergence suddenly switches back to default! The game doesn't seem to be able to remember that I've seen the NVIDIA lack of information display when the game starts up, too, so I have to control-alt-insert every time the game starts. What's up with that? Why can't 3D Vision remember what it did with this game?

I have this problem. Normally if a game does not have a profile this happens, but nowadays a profile often gets created for games. By the way, I have fixed a couple of minor rendering issues (force fields looking wrong from a distance for example) - but that was ages ago, so I am not sure what state that's in. If I get time I might revisit it.

This problem of the convergence resetting when saving a profile was discussed recently - adding the mystery stereo setting to the profile should fix it. If you haven't already, be sure to check out TsaebehT's guide which covers this issue: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/836462/3d-vision/guide-how-to-tweak-global-base-profile-settings-disable-info-text-fix-profile-saving-issues-etc-wip

This really isn't much of a fix, but I disabled ocean reflections & vibration effects (from blue gates). I also pushed most of the HUD in depth. Also fixed purple gates. I partially fixed torches in the temple. They look ok from afar. But they start to look incorrect once you get close up. fix updated 7/26/15: - Fixed some small issues (candles, laser emitters, electric bots, skybox in the desert at night). Also partially fixed torches (in the desert) and floor reflections. Updated instructions. Dx9 fix: https://s3.amazonaws.com/4everAwake/WIP_The_Talos_Principle.zip Instructions: 1. Download and extract the ZIP file in the directory "..\The Talos Principle\" 2. Run the game and navigate to Options -> Graphics Options. 3. Where it says "Graphics API", select "Direct3D 9" 4. Restart game. 5. In game, press the 'U' key and adjust the convergence to your liking. Press 'F7' to save. 'Caps Lock' key- makes text screen depth. Press this when using the computer terminal. 'Z' key- toggles blue gate vibration effects on & off (default is off) pics: http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/4everAwake/image/55928477e7e5644a480000be/ http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/4everAwake/image/55928462e7e5640e050002b5/

Thanks 4Ever! The levels behind those wooden boards have a lot of water in them so they were looking pretty bad in 3D. Hopefully this will help.

Firing this game up for the first time. I thought there had been a fix for it at Helixmod, but I'm not seeing one now. This thread suggests I'm correct about it having been there at one point: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/787419/3d-vision/the-talos-principle/
Thanks, I see a couple new fixes on Helix site too. Gonna be a fun weekend :-)
Anyone know what's up?

Well, yes, I saw that :p And I may try it. But per that other thread and my own memory, a fix was once hosted at helixmod and isn't anymore. I'm wondering why it would have been taken down, can't see why that would happen unless it caused issues.

I don't know for sure, but I suspect that post you refer to meant "I have seen some new fixes for various games at helixmod", not "I have seen a new fix for this game".

That's possible, fair enough. Another oddity is that this game isn't listed at all in "view 3d ratings" in Nvidia control panel either.

That's not unusual, nVidia often doesn't bother giving a rating to indie titles.

I warmly recommend this game for those readers who haven't tried this game yet. Worth playing in 3D vision this brilliant piece of art plus it is at a very fair promotional price on steam now. Check it out! Cheers

4everAwake - If I run in DX9 mode with your fixes and turn off MSAA from low 2x (default for my system) I get corruption and bad rendering. If I turn back on MSAA everything is fine. In DX11 mode without your fixes the game runs fine with MSAA on or off. UPDATE - Nevermind it appears to be a bug/or driver issue and not your fix. If I delete your fix the game is still corrupt in DX9 with MSAA off.
