New 3D projector coming..
Just in case anyones thinking of jumping aboard the 3d bandwagon by getting a H5360 projector or an Optoma one theres a new Acer model coming out
http://www.avinteractive.co.uk/news/29648/acer-launches-sxga-resolution-projector

So the articles about the Acer P5403 seem to indicate its native resolution is 1400x1050 and is capable of 120hz. It remains to be seen if the 120hz feature is restricted to 1280x720 or lower resolutions. Nice jump in lumen count though /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Perhaps they'll strip out the networking features for a cheaper consumer model.

IMO,
looks like a presentation data projector refitted with 3d, a flop for gaming, Because of

1.lumens and
2. price .

DLP_Link usually means lumens discarded on 3d for something laughable like 1/3 or 1/4 of rated output, I'd count with 1100 lumen in 3d mode .

IR + LED is the most interesting , look for those.

I got that impression too that it was more on the presentation end of things from the way its being marketed & given that the P5 prefix in an acer model seems to indicate "Professional" usage. I'm more excited about the prospect of manufacturers bypassing the limitation of HDMI 1.4 bandwidth for 1080p@120hz by reducing the resolution to 1600~ or thereabouts. Cheers for the advice on fabric by the way, getting some small samples first and comparing them to see which to go for.

Already 1/2 way through my H5360's lamp life /pinch.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':pinch:' /> I really need to stop using it for everyday use but its soo comfortable gaming/browsing on a couch. No eye strain either /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
