Mitsubishi WD-60737 5-star 3d experience with this tv
  1 / 3
I've been playing 3D with my brother's Samsung 2234 but didn't want to buy it myself. Great experience but GHOSTING made me think I should wait for something TRUELY 3D. Reading forums but couldn't find out much about other peoples experiences with other options. Took a chance and got a MITSUBISHI WD60737. Was worried at first. Turned it on. Got it working right away. Immedietly I knew this was going to be VERY different. Absolutely NO GHOSTING WHATSOEVER. Makes games luck TRUELY 3D. Unlike the experience with my brother's Samsung had a real 3D experience. The NVIDIA logo test actuallly POPS OUT of TV and floats TEN FEET across my room. OMG. OMG. OMG. I'm also playing with 8800 GT and I have no problem playing games like Dragon Age or Need for Speed. Alhough frame rate can be a samll issue both me an my brother agree the overall experience is better than his 295 video card because of my AWSOME dispaly. The color and brightness are also far superior with MITSUBISH WD60737. This TV beets them all. If you have been playing 3D with the Samsung you have not had the real experience. NO GHOSTING AT ALL on Mitsubishi DLP. Unbelievable POP OUT. NVIDIA GLASSES work PERFECTLY. Thank you NVIDIA. Thank you MITSUBISHI.

Its the same with the Samsung DLP line that supports 3D.

In general 3D DLP > 120 Hz LCD...when it comes to 3D

Now if only Nvidia fixes the driver issue with Sammy DLPs...

Hi guys,
I'm a noob here. I just got my hand on the Samsung Syncmaster and 3d Vision glasses and I'm so amazed at the 3D effect.
Well, this leads me to thinking of getting a DLP TV but I'm not certain of what brand to choose from, Samsung or Mitsubishi? Samsung has been in the TV market longer than Mitsubishi which means their quality might be better than Mitsubishi. But other hand, I have read a one or two reviews about how great 3D looks on Mitsubishi DLP. I know that Samsung is currently not supported by Nvidia, but perhaps the next driver update will support Samsung(Any news on that?) Need some good advice please!! Thanks

I own a 67inch Samsung and from my research albeit a tad limited.... This series (only comes in two sizes) are the only LED based light sourced DLPs ever sold to mainstream public. Even the current generation Mitsus are still using Lamps. Lamp replacements are about 200 dollars... Samsung only made this line for the 2008 year then dropped DLP completely. :(

The work-around was also a pain in the ass. If going DLP...I vote for a projector if at all viable..

Not talking trash about the Mitsu at all.... in fact going 3D on any off these is bombtasticular.... just, Lamp life is what kills the deal for me.

I agree that the LED one was very nice at least when it comes to long lasting but the DLP lamps are not $200 but only $100 so when you consider the still fairly long life and enjoyment you get out of it, $100 is not a lot...

Id love to buy the 82 inch Mitsubishi.
Problem is that they dont sell Mitsubish TVs in Canada.
LED Samsung would still be my first choice though...but they dont sell those anywhere.

So your choice is decided as only Mitsubishi TVs are avilable for 3D DLP gaming moving forward.

I want to be able to buy a screen locally... is there a better screen for around the same price?

EDIT: I see it is 3d ready.
EDIT2: It doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere around here. lameness.

Seems lamp prices have gone down since I was on the research road... Thats always a good thing! I guess people estimate changing out the lamp only 2-3 times on average over a large life span so factor that in... still a good deal.

Damn, thats cheap!

I paid 2200 for a 67 inch samsung LED in november of 2008.

I have not seen that exact model with my eyes but...yes, for the money that is the best 3D screen you can buy...lol. People that want to play 3D games on big screen TVs need to stock up on these Mitsubishis while they are still available. Who knows if mitsubishi will make 2010 DLPs...and once those 3D LCDs and Plasmas come out and cost 2000+ dollars for a 46 inch you will be wishing you picked up a 60 inch DLP for half the price.

Wow, you paid a few hundred too much, but still a great display, and worth the money. I bought my 61" Sammy in November 2008 for $1700, and they had the 67" for $2000. I wasn't going to pay over $1500, but the guy at HHGregg threw in the stand ($230) for free.

In Canada 2200 was 200 bucks off retail price (2400 canadian) and was absolutely the best deal I could find. They weren't selling these in a lot of places...

Can you tell me which driver you are using? I have a WD65737 and cannot get it to work, can't get the "next" to be active when enabling 3D for the first time. I have tried the current drive and the newer and older beta versions. My graphics card is a GTS 250 which I thought was at least as good as an 8800 GT and even if not that should stop the 3D from enabling.

I set the TV to 3D mode and I notice that none of the available display options include 120Hz, which I would have expected to see - do you see a 120Hz option if so at what resolution?

I've set this up on two other computers with Samsung 23(?) LCD displays and the family love them.

Any pointers to get the WD65737 to work would be greatly appreciated
