NVIDIA Control 3D Preview Discumboobulated In SLI! Preview works in single adapter mode but not
Good Day NVIDIA Forum Member's

I.m currently trouble shooting a game problem that shows itself by hanging at game startup, "FLICKERING" and, (Windows Event ID 1000) errors in XP Event Monitor for each instance of application hang.

The problem reveals itself with an odd oscillation or "flicker" showing up on the game's flash screen as soon as the game starts. An effect that looks similar to the effect you might expect to see on an old tube type TV with the "horizontal hold" turn up to max. (Not all my games act in this manner) But enough do to know there's an issue. It also is an issue which "only" strikes in SLI mode.

NOTE:
NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL/ADJUST IMAGE SETTINGS W/ PREVIEW window does not function correctly in SLI mode.

I am wondering if there may be a relationship to my dysfunctional SLI problem in certain game play and this failure of the NVIDIA 3D preview image option.
The Preview window shows a rotating 3D image where one may adjust settings and view results in real time. In Single Adapter Mode this image and the option looks and and functions perfectly. However, in SLI mode the image bares no resemblance to the later. The image becomes blocky and all discombobulated and will not run so the entire application becomes worthless. Again, whenever one changes from SLI to single adapter mode and reboots the application works normally. Can anyone explain?

Also,If anyone reading this recognizes my "flickering" at startup issue please be so kind and speak to it here. I've been wrestling with this for weeks. As , I said not all my games act in this manner. UT3 and Company of Hero's worked perfect out of the box while simple 2D Active X games only have a 25% chance at running properly. I have no readily apparent hardware issues but I certainly MUST have a trickbag of corrupt files in my software somplace,...yeah think?

Another Question:
Why would one here a "Found New Hardware Sound Que" when ever one opens the NVIDIA Control Panel?

Thank You,
Bman.

UPDATE
Disregard my post if you like . I've discovered "most" of the problem. Indeed SLI related. Wrong driver installed by MS update. I Installed newest NVIDIA driver and SLI is running like never before! Screw MS and there update engine. Though it's a handy util it can also corrupt a clean install or as here, load the wrong driver and cause one serious grief. However, even with the newest driver installed and SLI running great I'm still having the issue with the NVIDIA Control Panel Real Time Preview. This must be a bug in the software? If anyone else see's this on there PC please post.
