OK....OK.... so you FINALLY got SLI fixed, not that I'm going to break my arm patting you on the back 'cause it should have been working in the first place! Let me start by spinning a little yarn to help my point. I work in an automotive factory when recently during an employee meeting a remark was shared by management with us that Ford made to our company (we are a "parts' supplier and the company name shall remain anonymous) and the comment Ford made to our management was something like this..."If we (FORD) have a need or a problem you as our supplier should already be working 'round the clock to fix it to its end since WE are the customer". Now to my point. Since I am also a customer and I figure nobody could tell my money from Fords' if they were beside each other in a pile (except my pile would be much smaller) should I also not have the same expectations? Here is what I expect. I expect everthing I buy to work and to keep working for the life cycle of the product.....the punchline....when the H_LL are you guys gonna get to work on drivers for the 3D edimensional glasses now that SLI is fixed. It's reasonable to assume that some of us with SLI systems might be sporting these glasses and you know G_D D_M well that they are not working now because stereo drivers have stalled out at the 78.01 version and video drivers are version 81.95 now. I KNOW you are also aware that stereo & video drivers must match in version to work with the graphics card properly. I grow weary of watching these things sit around collecting dust.......... WHEN,WHEN.WHEN????? /spaz.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':spaz:' />

I have been buying every generation of GeForce since it has stereo3D driver, faithfully . Only because this feature - 3DSTEREO !!
The way it goes with how poor stereo support is with Nvidia, the moment ATI or anybody else provides a stereo3d with their graphics cards I'll be looking into it and I think all other stereo3d gamers will as well .
To keep a faithful following of customers I figure a company like Nvidia and their marketing department should be smart enough to have a good business sense to hire a dedicated developer working on this driver , making synchronising release of both graphics and 3D stereo driver at the same time a normal practice instead of treating it as an afterthougth .
I can see it right now, ATI will have a stereo driver and will start competing seriously to get the market shares with simultaneous release of their drivers . No, probably they even release the 3D stereo integrated within the graphics driver itself, making it 3D essential as a feature . They will probably leapfrog by having a functional OSD for stereo, card makers will be giving out glasses with their ATI video cards like racoons . Gamers/buyers will flock to ATI for the next generation and Nvidia will have to play catch up for a long time, long long long time . Just like Intel now is playing catch up with once its follower . And ATI is no follower in the first place . Get a hold of yourself Nvidia , you have the 3Dstereo advantage, value it like it's your own survival, it may be the only thing that will propulse your company into dominance for a long time /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> . The customers have spoken and if you don't know customers are gods /devil.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> then you are really in bigger trouble than just a late release driver here and there .

and further to this gripe.....nVidia probably won't respond to this post because they already got our money so why should they care. There have been 3 graphics card driver releases since the 78.01 stereo driver release, 81.95, 81.94, 81.85. An obvious violation of hardware support. But why waste time with loyal customers like ourselves when they've already picked our pockets. I am starting to see that this forums is for problems THEY pick & choose to solve, ones THEY want to solve. If this was a post blowing sunshine up their collective AS_ES I'm sure they would have responded by now. Maybe I'll try the edimensional people, maybe they will "lower" themselves and give me some kind of answer "cause it sure doesn't look like I'm ever gonna get one here /thumbsdown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I really think that there is a wonderful opportunity here that Nvidia has once seen it and now only has a dimmed image left of what could be a brilliant marketing success.
The "visionaries" from Nvidia who probably took the cue from Wicked3d/Metabyte couldn't carry the idea far enough, the regurgitation does not seem yet even complete .
Now big director like James Cameron of the Titanic fame even sworn to only make movies in 3Dstereo , and young directors likes Rodriguez routinely come out with 3D movies . People has slowly but warmly come around to see 3dstereo no longer as gimmicks with name like James Cameron behind it (well together with the fact that the extra dimension is magic in itself when working)
The time is now for Nvidia to come up with something new with 3dstereo , give us OSD that works well, LCD stereo mechanism with 3dstereo driver, merge the 3dstereo feature into the main driver, multiple convergence settings and convergence reload with programmable keys (or better yet auto switching convergence between different views , relieving user from having to reload the preset convergence , that is to say preset convergence is going to be implemented which is the topic of another post down below , ie enhancement request letter) , bundle deal with glass makers and card makers to give consumers an even cheaper price of an extraordinary feature/functionality for every card sold, remember 3dstereo has the magical power of reeling in loyal customers for life . Yes I said life , as long as Nvidia has the best 3dstereo feature and support, I will be buying every new Nvidia card that will ever be produced.
The enhancements list may be longer (it depends on what talents a developer has) in order to make the immersion experience becomes even more immersive, but the chance of being the most popular graphic s chip/card maker will also get much better .
I think Nvidia is shooting itself in the foot by letting this opportunity to be slipping by day by day .

No problem there...you were "clearly" understood! Whether we will be "listened" to or not is an entirely different matter........
I fired off an email to edimensional today and if I have to I'll pay for a long distance call but I will not tolerate your neglect much longer nVidia. Why don't you step up to the plate and at least offer up a a "reasonble response" to this post. Please don't make it a post that threatens to ban me from your site just "cause I used strong words that indicate a legitimate customer gripe...or is that it...did I hurt your little feelings? /argue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':argue:' />

FYI they dont really care... the 6800/NForce3 thing with DX games has been going on for a year now and no one from there has any thing to say about it... all i can say is this work it out on your own ... i know that sux but what els can you do :(.... the little people have no say in any thing... all they care is beating ATI in the next card race... hell if they helped the people more with what they have.... they would have a really big coustermer base that ATI well never see.... but as long they sell crap hardwear they will end up like 3Dfx.. and im really dreading that day...

Awe don't worry about stupid spellings brother...thanks for the post...I'm glad in a strange kind of way I'm not the only one as angry as I am about this. And you're quite right IT SUX /thumbsdown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

If they bothered to market the stereo functionality of their cards they WILL HAVE ALREADY beaten ATI in the card race with most of their back catalogue of existing hardware!
They seem to fail to realise that most people only upgrade their cards at the moment when a significantly faster card hits the shelves within their price range.
I myself am 100% loyal to nVIDIA, but i know that most people will just purchase the fastest card they can get for the cash, there and then. (We gamers aren't the most patient bods around!)
On the other hand, if you showed someone the latest ATI card playing game"X", and then showed the same person a mid-range GF running the same app in stereo (albeit at a lower res to compensate for speed loss in stereo) which do you think they would be more impressed by?
I can tell you right now for a fact, it would be the second one, because i've done it myself. I showed some of my mates my partners computer running NFSU2 on her ATI 9700. Fair enough. I then showed them it in stereo on my laptop, which only has a GF440Go. "Wow" was the general reaction. Then again on my main desktop running on a GF6600.
Guess what they are all running now.
I'll give you a clue, only one of my friends is still on a Radeon, and he regrets his purchase.
The moral of the story is, nVIDIA, stop trying to focus all your efforts on marginally beating ATI by a few FPS with each release, when with the proper marketing (and decent driver updates) you can totally hump them over a barrel with what you already have! REAL, VISIBLE and DISTINCT FEATURES which your competitor DOESN'T have an equivalent of, which everyone can instantly recognise. You screamed about SM3 till you were blue in the face, but are you really going to tell us that SM2>SM3 has more of an impact on a games immersion than flat3D>Stereo3D? Most people can't look at a game and tell you if it's running SM2 or SM3 without a direct comparison. Stereo is a touch more obvious.
I am loyal to you just now, and have been since my TNT2 & GF256, simply because you're currently the best at what you do, but don't rest on your laurels. Bear in mind that most people 5-8years ago were 100% loyal to 3DFX until they sat back, and look what happened there.
If ATI pull out decent 3D stereo support, which they are roumored to have started developing for their next range, you could be about to lose a LOT of customers, which would be a disaster considering you started the 3DSt ball rolling.
Conversely, if you get your Stereo wupport + marketing sorted, you would easily nick a good prtion of their customer base BEFORE their current ATI cards are uot of date - they will simply want the stereo function that ATI lacks.
