Acer H5360 i bought one

Yes...

Since I'm getting a pair of XpanD DLP-link glasses, they need the sync signal from VGA.. Or maybe it would work If I robbed the sync signal from the DVI before converting to HDMI. It should...

But still I only have one HDMI on the projector and two devices with HDMI.

I kinda got it to work doing these steps:

Ran the wizard with the Viewsonic connected. Set the resolution to 1280x720@120Hz and ticket "use this resolution for all games".

Changed the screen (physically) to the Acer projector without rebooting or changing anything else.

Works for now. Probably stops working when I'll reboot.

By the way, I get some ghosting with the Nvidia glasses on the Viewsonic AND on the Acer. The Acer had no ghosting when I tested it with my own sync dongle and Edimensional glasses. So either the Nividia emitter or the glasses create ghosting... I'll do some more tests with both of them connected at the same time (my own sync box + edimensional vs. Nvidia glasses)
The glasses aren't the problem. The nvidia emitter doubles as a hardware dongle. Without it the stereoscopy drivers just won't give any other choice than anaglyph. When you do have the emitter it does send out a sync signal through the vga port, so if you have the projector connected through vga and for example the e-dimensional dongle then the e-dim glasses will also work. If it's the wireless e-dim's though, the nvidia emitter and e-dim emitter will interfere with one another so that's another problem.
It seems I'm not completely right. I was trying to use my AnotherEYE2000 dongle, however the projector signal didn't get through it. This did work with my previous projector (a Sharp XR-10X), but with that projector I also had a device to clone the VGA port and I had the AE2000 dongles connected to another port than the projector, so I don't know whether it's the device or the PJ that made the difference. Now I also tried my e-dimensional dongle and this does pass through the signal. The glasses are not turned on by the nvidia driver however so I had to use the ED activator to turn them on. Then ingame I had to enable/disable stereo a few times to get parallax correct. (With the AnotherEYE glasses this isn't much of a problem since they have a hardware switch to invert parallax, but as I can't get the dongle to work currently...)

EDIT: I tried using the vga cloning device again but I couldn't get the AE2000's to sync properly through it. Also I forgot how bad the e-dim's really are compared to nvidia's glasses ;) E-dims are much smaller and darker. I wish I could fix my other pair of 3dvision glasses, the battery is drained and the recharge function doesn't work; since I imported them before they were available in europe, warranty wasn't really an option, so I opened them to take a look. Very hard to open though, can't even get everything off as well as someone else on here. But anyway I measured with a multimeter and confirmed the battery was at a way too low voltage. Also I tried to hook up a big battery with about the same voltage as required and the glasses worked; charging didn't work with that battery either though, so I suspect the charging circuit is broken and that's why the battery got depleted. The glasses did charge when I first got them though, so the circuit must have gotten damaged here somehow. The interesting part was that my battery's terminals were wired differently than in someone else's glasses; perhaps that caused the charger circuit to break /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />

finally I received my H5360, im quite happy with it, but i think i've got a problem, whenever i try to go to 3d mode, i can hear some strange noise coming from my projector, i don't know, like scratching, it disappears after a while. And also, i can't go to Empowering control, that "e" button on the remote control just doesn't do anything. All those problems appeared when i connected my PJ to my PC using 10m DVI-D to HDMI cable (Dual-Link). Does anyone have similar issues?

Yes, had similar problems, using a 5m Hdmi cable. These noises seemed to appear randomly. Returned the pj because of that, although the vendor could not reproduce the noises. Now waiting for a full HD pj, hopefully coming soon.

I found the problem dude. :) We just had to disable HDMI->HDTV audio in nVidia Control Panel. All these strange noises are gone now, and i'm very happy. :)

Or you can turn the volume down in the projector menus :-) bit late but hey its another option.

When I started to think in the correct way, it was easier to get to Nvidia Control Panel. :) And yep, you can turn the volume down, I did it as well.

My experience in 3d image quality isn't huge, but I really enjoy what I see. It's a huge size screen in 3D, the response time also isn't that bad, the picture quality itself is nice as well. But there are more 3D Ready projectors coming soon, and it's totally up to you, to wait for them or not. :)

It really isn't that simple. Would I trade my Optoma in for an LCD? No way even with the current driver situation, but for me it's more about ergonomics. I built my entire rig for a BIG, multi-purpose experience:

1. 130in screen
2. 7.1 surround sound
3. Wireless keyboard and mouse
4. Home Theater style case
5. Watercooled CPU to reduce fan noise
6. Nice keyboard stand
7. Comfy loveseat (with a footrest /zzz.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ) I am older than most...

I wanted something that I could jam out listening to music, strum along on my guitar, watch movies stored on my homeserver, as well as game in 3D. This also had to be family night compatible. Sure, I could do all of this on a monitor (and have) but it just isn't the same experience. Same with gaming in 3D. Is 720p good enough? Barely. I would trade up in a heartbeat for a full 1080P system, but I have to say that you just can beat the "bang for the buck" factor of these new projectors! If you have the room and the same intentions that I did, then a projector is the ONLY way to go and I wouldn't hesitate as any 1080P 3D projector is going to be super expensive to start anyway. If your environment isn't as accommodating then it just may not make sense to move to a projector.

The thing is 22" isn't big enough for me but im goner keep it

One thing I would like to know is how big will the pic be if the projector is 5 meters from the wall. Im not to bothered about 1080p as I dont think theres a huge diffrence from 720p to 1080p unlike sd maybe it's my eyes lol, with 3d blu-ray on the way projector is a must for me as there are no DLP TV's available in the uk that do 3D, what other projectors are coming out before March?
Maybe I should wait for a LCD projector /wallbash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wallbash:' />

There is a throw distance calculator over here, just select the HD65 as it is nearly identical to the HD 66. I am not sure what the throw is for the H5360 so check it out. There are also some short throw 3D projectors out from Viewsonic and I think Optoma also announced another model.

I don't know what other projectors are on the way but I am sure there were some announcements at CES.

Hi guys,
just an easy question seeking for your kind answer..

If you connect PJ to PS3 or XBOX via HDMI cable, does the 3D function work (using the NV 3D glass)? How to actualize it?

Thanks..Aeron

it does support the full checkerboard 3d mode (it support others from the consoles, but thats the only one i have tried)
I have tried this with Avatar on the 360.

BUT

i tried to be clever and use nvidia glasses with the 360 through the 5360 (like some people have done with their 3d ready tv)
-pc to projector with vga
-360 to projector with HDMI
-opened 3d picture viewer, glasses are activated
-tried to switch source with remote...
-BLURG! source is locked when in 3d mode! cant change input.

not going to happen :(
