Going to get a pj but am sure which gives the best quality.
Can somebody help me with some good info please.
Does 3dvision 720p page flipping look better than 3dtvplay 720p frame packing?
Trying to work out if i need the 3dvision 2 kit and 120hz pj or other glasses and a hdmi 1.4 pj?
Thanks.
Was thinking of the optoma gt750 for 3dtvplay and gt720 for 3dvision.

As I'm sure you already know, the advantagees lean towards the GT750. With HDMI 1.4 you have so many more choices for sources such as the X-Box, PS3, Cable/Set-top Boxes, stand alone Blu-ray players. Wheras with the GT 720 you'll need to puchase a VP3D1 or 3D-XL for format conversion, if it's even compatible with one of them. Also the GT 750 has a vesa port for 3D emiiter connection, giving you the option for adjustable 3D RF glasses.
Doesn't the GT-750 also do frame sequential? If so couldn't you use an override?

I suppose the gt750 manual is poking me in the eye lol, manual states 3d modes for hdmi 1.3 and hdmi 1.4 and the hdmi 1.4 shows the usual limit of 60hz, wow i'm on the 750 by the looks of it. Best of both worlds, i'm amazed at what can be got for such a small price.
Allways wanted some 3dvision glasses :)
I see somebody on the forum state they needed their glasses upside down, thats a killer for me.
Allthough the manual states it has 3d invert to change left/right frames and by looks of it this covers 120hz fs ?

Can't you just use dlp-link or rf glasses instead of the 3dvision ones?

Hi,
Course i can but that would be too easy lol.
So if a pj supports frame packing and frequency then which is the best 3d option to use, 120hz or fp?

Get RF glasses

Thanks again, 2 pairs of optoma rf glasses here we come.
I'll report back in a week and let you know which is the best, 47 passive 3dtv or a 80" pj display, i like the idea that the 750 says it has zero lag, been chasing input lag ever since my tosh's.
I was going togo sli gtx 680 but i had the brainwave that instead of 2 cards a 47" 3dtv and 1080p i could go huge with a lower res and 1 gtx680 should last a long time at 720p 3d :), all my games will be played on the pj from now on, well that's the plan :) :) :), no 1080p interleaved for me anymore.
Something i've thought about this morning, so if i get the optoma rf glasses then i'll be on teh frame packing bandwagon, i may get the 3dvision 2 glasses allso if the 3d invert covers 120hz as the 3dvision 2 kit is so cheap it would be a shame to not have a pair laying around, def going for the 2x rf glasses first though as this seems tobe the best reccomendation :)
Edit,
Now im torn between the benq w700 or 710st with it's 3 year warrenty or the gt750 with one year warrenty, buying new stuff can be a right pain in the bum sometimes, is i worth losing out on hdmi 1.4 to a 3 year warrenty, only i know this and i find i'm knowing nothing at the mo, so many hours of pj google junk going around my brain.

I have the GT750, its a great kit. One of the most compatible 3D projectors ever released. It supports HDMI 1.4a (so Nvidia or AMD, PS3, Xbox, Blu-Ray Players etc.) also supports side-by-side and over-under so you can watch 3D broadcast TV and use with non-3D compatible PCs and laptops. Can also do frame-sequential, but I'm haven't tried that yet. Supports DLP-Link glasses, and also has a VESA sync port so will work with RF glasses or anything else that supports VESA. Really, this is the best. I have an over 100" screen in my living room and the projector is only 6 feet away. Looks great. Best part: got it on sale for $615. Yeah boy!

I own a Optoma HD300X projector with several RF glasses and using HDMI frame packing it's really really bad:

The shutter signal timing is messed up differently in different video modes (about 2ms in 720p60Hz, about 0.5ms in 720p50Hz, about 1.5ms in 1080p24Hz). Here's a picture from my silver screen in 720p60Hz without correction: http://twitpic.com/71tsav

On frequent resolution changes, the display processor just crashes with frozen garbage on screen. Luckily the remote still works (with no screen feedback tho, because it crashed), so I'm able to turn it off and on again.
Is the GT750 any better? Please look carefully at extreme contrast images (white line on black background) for any ghosting?

i tried 3dtvplay once and it wouldn't let me override aa. with 3d vision i can play most games with supersampling. for instance, 720p + 4x sgssaa results in less aliasing than 1440p.
also, the frames are rendered sequentially but are presented to the projector in pairs, so there has to be a delay for the first frame.
but the projector can't display them both in parallel either, so now the second frame has to be delayed.

Thanks for looking into it :)
When using DLP-Link, there's no impact from the wrong shutter-timing the Optoma produces because the glasses triggering themselves using the white flash sync image. I am just curious if Optoma tries to fix its products or if they don't give a damn about stereovision users. The Optoma RF shutter glasses have about 99.9% light absorption in normal operation, but if you wear the glasses in a angle you have a whopping 100% absorption with absolute no ghosting whatsoever (which is way better then any polarization filter setup I tried so far). So the projector timing is flawed and the LCD in the glasses is slightly misaligned.
I would like to try 120Hz page sequential mode, but how can I switch the NVidia driver from 3DTVPlay to 3DVision using HDMI? (I have a USB-emitter installed etc.)

Please look carefully at extreme contrast images (white line on black background) for any ghosting?

also, the frames are rendered sequentially but are presented to the projector in pairs, so there has to be a delay for the first frame.
but the projector can't display them both in parallel either, so now the second frame has to be delayed.

I have not noticed any ghosting at all on the GT750. And yes, I've looked (ie a black gun on a white background, etc.). Also, I'm using DLP-Link glasses, not sure if it matters.
