whats WRONG ?
hdmi 3d spec indicates only 24 stereo frames per second for 1080p, maybe this changes if you use the new 1.4 high bandwidth mode
full 60 is only supported on 720p sized stereo frames
Hdmi 1.4 does have stereo 1080p60 but it's an optional format, so TVs can claim they support hdmi 1.4 without supporting stereo 1080p60 inputs.
The TV would need to use special high quality hdmi input and output chips that nobody uses (and I think nobody even produce).
No TV supports it, and I suspect no graphics card supports it either through Hdmi ports.
same quality mate, just frame packed, sends the 2 frames at the same time instead of individually, the tv then splits the signal into the left and right at 60fps per eye.
Cheers Dave, that must be my problem. Maybe my card is not compatible as the GT does not have a hdmi out but a DVi one. I am using a hdmi- Dvi cable. What's confusing is that according to nvdia my card should be compatible they must have got it wrong?? Can anybody suggest a card that is compatible and will not break the bank. Not really looking for a powerhouse just a card that can run games at a decent setting.
720p 60 fps
1080p 24fps
1080p is just really for movies.

That is hdmi 1.4a spec, and i wont be gaming at 1080p at 24fps.
The hdmi bandwith at this moment will not allow 1080p at 60fps.

the max res for HDMI 1.4 is 4096×2160@24 FPS.
So, the least we could get out of HDMI 1.4 stereo pairs should at least be 48 FPS right?
Guess we'll find out soon enough.

No use for gaming, so 720p for gaming it is then.

will the "frame" be lower quality?
please, less technical details - more end-user experience difference.

for 720p -
2x GTS250, GTX285, GTX460 ~ these are all the same perfomance
4x MSAA (not crucial ) takes away 50% perfomance in unreal3 engine games ( better ones) thats a bit of a problem .
