Dirt Showdown, Sli Fix And 3dvisision Fixed :)
Hi,
Just got this game this morning, sli was broken, allso 3dvision showed game as unknown.

I have included the sli txt file you need, just use sli tool to import it /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />/

It seems showdown has 2 exe's in sli profile, one was named " rp6.exe", i changed this to " showdown_avx " and then imported teh file, sli is now working and 3dvision shows game as " Good ".

Thanks. I will ask our driver team to make the changes to the SLI and 3D Vision profile for this game.

That's ok, it was fun using what i'd learned here and there to find the fault, gives me something to tell the mates around a beer tonight.

Allthough sli is now working, there are some performance issues, sometimes 60fps sometimes around 40/50 on same level, looks like a driver optimization needs to happen or a patch from developers, it's alittle like the performance issues of the Smelter track on dirt 3 with ambient occlusion on which has low performance and low gpu usage.

Using around 50/65% gpu usage on both cards and a i7 3770k so i have no issues. had to turn a few settings down because of the performance issues.

Tried with just 1 card and get a solid 60fps at my settings in a race 99% of teh time, try with sli and i get anywhere from 40/60fps and some tracks play much better than others.

In Showdowns benchmark i can max everything and 8xaa in 3d with sli at mostly a smooth 60fps, with a single card i'm around 30fps so sli works good for benchmark track lol.

So sadly allthough sli is proven to work good in teh bench i am now using non sli as performance is better in general at everything.

There are a issue with water graphics detail. Put detail of water at normal (not high) and the rest of things on max value and the game runs fine at 60 solid frames.
Sorry for my english.

So now back to using sli.
Water is set to low, when i encounter low fps i just goto in game settings and change ambient occlusion back and forth, seems once its been changed a 40fps level can be back to a solid 60fps.
As it stands i can play perfectly good with sli and 60fps now apart from the odd press of start and change settings it's all good.

As Darren Hodgson found in the DiRT Showdown forum, changing DX1x SLI flag for DiRT Showdown from 0x80100f5 to 0x81000f5 gives great SLI scaling, even with water on High, in every tracks.

Darren Hodgson has some flickering during loadings, but I don't.

EDIT : ok useless post, check here http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=230150&view=findpost&p=1413131 ^^

@ Miguel - Actually I only see flickering if v-sync is off, i.e. during the benchmark. If I enable v-sync for the game then there's no flickering at all. So it does seem like 0x081000f5 is the correct value and that the v301.42 profiles need updating to change the incorrect 0x080100f5 value the Showdown profile currently uses.
