Will new update (see https://xcom.com/news/en-xcom-2-patch-now-live) change any progress made on the game fix?
I'll test it later on. Admittedly I've been playing a lot of The Division and haven't been working on this, but I did make some progress earlier this week and fixed the fog of war effect entirely. Really the main things that are left are reflections and lighting clipping at a distance (both of which are relatively minor and proving difficult to fix, so I might not bother much more with them), and setting some UI depth convergence presets, and I'll probably put out the full release on the blog this week.

Any progress on this game fix? Its predecessor looked great in 3D (I think isometric game views really emphasize 3D), and reviews have been very good.

Actually yes. Recently this game has returned to the top of my priority list, and I've been playing and fixing any remaining effects that crop up. As is (to the point I've played, at least), the game is about 95% done, with only reflections being broken (which might be beyond my ability to fix, but are not all that important anyway), but the thing that is taking a long time is just about EVERY special ability (of either X-Com agents or aliens) have effects that create halos in them. Again, I could release the fix as is at this stage because all that stuff is only on screen for a couple seconds at a time, and doesn't really detract from the ability to play the game in 3D (like all the other stuff that I've already managed to fix), but as I'm sure you can imagine I'd prefer to have a 100% complex fix ready before I put it up on the blog. I was also hoping on getting a feature added to 3DMigoto to make the changing between convergence values a bit more user friendly (which is necessary since the game likes to suddenly switch from one camera perspective to another, and if you have a high convergence running, that can be really hard on the eyes), but I suppose we've waited long enough for that, and if it ever does get added I can patch it in later. If I had to put a timeframe on it, I'd say expect something within the next week or so, so feel free to grab it now while it's on sale! ;)

Yeah, I hear you. I want this to be done just as much as everyone else! I've got 70 hours logged in this game, all on my first run, which I've read and learned that I haven't done certain things as optimal (as expected in a first run) so I've been holding off on the temptation to start a new game for the sake of getting the fix finished instead of being selfish and replaying it for more enjoyment. I'm glad I've held off this long before posting an official release, because I've recently been able to fix quite a few things that I thought that I would be leaving or disabling, such as SSAO and a lot of the screen space reflections, so I'm sure the wait will be worth it for a more polished product in the end. I've been pretty steadily on this since my last post, logged about 20-30 hours since, but as far as I can tell I'm still a bit of a ways off until the end, and I'm convinced more than ever that this is one that's gonna need for me to play all the way through to be certain, so same ETA as before: another week or so.

DJ-RK - we really appreciate your hard work on this game! As an alternative, you might consider restarting the game (for YOUR enjoyment - this is important), and posting a beta release for now. Several of us would be happy to serve as beta testers, so you can take your time playing through the game...

Try hunting a CS for reflections, if you found one post here. Probably the same CS for reflections used in UE4 games.

Thank you DJ, again. I want to apologised if I sounded too rushy. The game is excellent. I can't imagine what it would look like to play it on 3D. Take your time and do it properly.

Here's a link to that if you'd rather not wait for the full release: http://www.mediafire.com/download/c5gqll54bjpejfi/Xcom_2_fix_beta_2.zip Just make sure that you import the .nip profile to fix one eye rendering issues. Problem is, there are quite a few different ones, and I've managed to fix most of them at this point, but some are proving to be a little tricky. Just came across one where fixing the shader fixes reflections in one level, but breaks them in another. That's always the worst!
Thank you DJ, again.
Oh no worries my friend, I didn't take it as a rush request at all. I'm glad people have been inquiring on the status and/or commenting on how eager they are to play this, it gives me the motivation to keep pushing forward. I just wanted to give an update to show that there has been steady progress... just wish I could get through the game faster, but fixing the game is obviously padding my playtime significantly.

Just thought I'd add my interest in this fix, have been holding off on buying the game until the 3D fix is ready (also not a rush request, I have plenty to keep me occupied until then).
