Samsung Syncmaster 2233RZ Ghosting
  1 / 2
Hey

I just got this monitor and experiencing a bit of ghosting while doing the test and games. Like when I run the setup I can see a bit of the triangle in the top row when closing my right eye. When I play left for dead, I'm seeing two of there names above there head. I had the same problem with my samsung DLP and fixed the issue by changing the TV options to PC. I know it's a sync problem for this new monitor. Does anyone have any quick fixes??

My DLP samsung isn't even on the list for supported Monitors. I have 100% no ghosting with it.

Thanks :magic:

There is no way to completely eradicate ghosting while using this tech.

I've been reading posts though and certain people don't have ghosting with this monitor. There has gotta be a fix. It's a depth issue... Many people seeing the same thing, Put that depth at zero and it fixes it. Gotta be a fix... :magic:

The ghosting is caused by a small amount of light from the other eye's image making it into the wrong eye. That is why it goes away when depth is set to zero as there is no separation between the two images.

Hmm, if you set the depth relatively low and the mess with convergence, you can often get a nice 3d effect with little ghosting.

I absolutely love this tech, and I always play at depth 100%-150%. I get ghosting and sometimes it is worse than others. However, I have pretty much learned how to tune it out and it just doesn't bug me anymore unless I remember to notice it. Other people cannot stand it however and aren't able to live with it even in tiny amounts.

That said, there is no fix available to get rid of ghosting completely and have depth set high.

To me, the juice is well worth the squeeze.

Yeah don't get me wrong.. This monitor is amazing and I will continue to play 3D on it. My 61inch DLP is flawless though. I hope they come out with a fix soon.

Thanks :magic:

Which DLP do you use?

I am guessing that there is less ghosting because the DLP tv doesn't have as much contrast. Although there could be other factors as well. I wonder if lowering the contrast on the monitor might help get rid of some of the ghosting.

I'll try that, but you're right. No ghosting in shadowrun "shadowrun works flawless for me on max depth on my DLP" I had the Depth at like 45 and played with the convergence. Thanks man. It's a lot better on the test as well now. Again you're right, even on these settings the experience is still truly great.

I have the Samsung HL61A750 61-Inch 1080p LED Powered DLP HDTV Which is AMAZING in 3D.

Having this new 22inch monitor by samsung makes my life so much better. Amazing experience 120hz in-game and just doing whatever on it out of the game. Very happy. I doubt I'll hop back on that DLP with 3D for awhile. :magic:

Left for dead is working great now too. Do you know if there is a quick fix for sometimes seeing a bright flash of light, when around lights in L4D? Happened to me on my DLP as well. Not sure why it does that.

I believe I read contrast with the 22" Samsung 120hz monitor is locked at 75 and brightness is locked at 100

Lol, I had that issue at first too... make sure when you are installing the software that you state that you are in a room with multiple IR sources. Also, make sure you check your lights (the culprit with me ended up being my desk lamp) and any other IR emitters. Also, make sure your receiver is plugged into a port on the back of your motherboard and not on a hub of any kind.

That figures. Wish they would let us worry about changing settings. Or at the very least give us an advanced mode that unlocks those settings.

Changing contrast helped your ghosting? If so what'd you set it to?

Did you change them in-game or while at your desktop? Are you sure the settings held true once you entered 3D mode? In my 2233rz, it always reverts back to the pre-set 100 brightness, 75 contrast when in 3D. Nothing I can do. Even changing the brightness/contrast in the Nvidia Control Panel doesn't stay when you enter 3D. I really, really wish Nvidia would let us decide which is the best setting. I don't mind tiny amounts of ghosting but in my experiences the only game that has "tiny" amounts is L4D and that game is very nice. Any game which isn't entirely set at night though is pretty bad for ghosting if you ask me, and I have a pretty hefty tested list.....

Yeah you're right. I didn't even think that would happen. Odd. I hope they fix the ghosting soon, I don't see why that's not an easy fix for such a wide issue. :magic:
