Annoying problems with drivers from CD v1.45 and IE
System: Windows 7 Home Premium, 32-bit
GPU-Prozessor: GeForce GTX 260
Driver: 266.58
Browser: IE 8
Display: SyncMaster 2233RZ
Since the last drivers support window mode and 3DVisionLive everytime I switch to fullscreen mode when watching any 2D(!!!) video stream with IE (youtube etc.) I've got the following problems:
- IE crashes and restarts
- Windows desktop design switches from Aero to basic ("application not compatible")
- the IR-emitter switches on
- display brightness is maximized and MagicBrigth locked
When I want to get back to my usual settings I have to completely close any IE windows. The display brigthness is still locked at maximum. So to be able to adjust the display brightness I have to display a picture in fullscreen mode with "Windows-Fotoanzeige".
This means that every time I watch a video on youtube afterwards I have to spend a minute to get back to my usual display and design settings /wallbash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wallbash:' />
That's very annoying! Even deactivating S3D within the Nvidia system settings doesn't help to prevent this strange behavior.
The only solution I found so far is to detach the IR-emitter before starting IE /verymad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':verymad:' />
Do You have similar problems and another solution? Can I deactivate the S3D support for IE (I don't need 3DVisionLive anyway)?
As mentioned in another topic the support for google earth is IMHO completely useless as the convergence settings are locked at a value that only causes ghosting and almost no depth effect.

I've just tried, and I don't find any problem, don't know if it is because I'm using x64, or if it is because I'm using flash 10.2 RC.
If you're still using flash 10.1, you may want to try using flash 10.2 RC and see if it solves the problem (link), if you want to revert back to 10.1, there's a guide to uninstall flash 10.2 on that same page.

I'm using flash 10.2 already.
The problem seems to me that S3D is activated when it isn't supposed to be used (normal 2D videos on sites that are not ment to display S3D content). In earlier driver versions only S3D content in IE using the silverlight plugin activated the IR-emitter. Now IE seems to be per se declared as a S3D compatible application regardless from the content that is displayed in fullscreen mode (or at least flash videos).
The other problem is that the S3D mode isn`t deactivated correctly afterwards: the brightness is still locked to maximum. This problem often appears with the Samsung SyncMaster 2233R so You might not realize it with Your notebook display.
Could You try the following situation please:
Go to youtube.com, choose a video and switch to fullscreen.
- Will Your S3D-System be activated?
- Does Your windows desktop design change to windows 7 basic (window frames not transparent)?

This one is pretty weird. The new 3D stuff on the 3D Live web page is all Silverlight (Microsoft's version of Flash). YouTube uses Flash.
(If the new drivers were causing this to happen to everybody, there would have been a firestorm on here by now. I'm afraid this is going to be a rare-at-best issue - maybe something that just happens to you.)
You might try uninstalling Silverlight completely then installing it again from Microsoft's website.

Uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe flash player (10.1 and 10.2) and Silverligth didn't help /sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Even when there is no Silverligth installed on my system every flash video in fullscreen mode activates 3Dvision /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Update: Found the solution /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
It was the fault of the Cooliris plug-in for IE. After uninstalling Cooliris everything works fine.
