You only need to download 3d tv play which is 40 dollars. Look at requirements. You need hdmi 1.3-1.4cable(you can have a dvi adapter for card), and compatible nvidia card. Keep in mind 3d will halve your fps. So your comp better be able to handle it.

So I need to buy a 3D Vision emitter ? That really doesn't make any sense then.

No, you need only the 3D Vision kit. Forget 3DTV Play, Nvidia crippled 3DTV Play in a way that affects all Samsung HDTVs so whatever you do, pass on 3DTV Play.
To get full quality software only 3D gaming, get the free trial of TriDef and/or iZ3D 3D drivers. They are the equivalent of 3DTV Play, only full quality and non-crippled. That will give you a full six weeks to see if Nvidia decides to uncripple 3DTV Play.

As i read the Nvidia 3DTV Play requirements, you only need the 3DTV play ???

It say´s you need the Nvidia 3D emitter, BUT ONLY if theres not a built in 3D emitter in your TV ...

And i assume its built in your new TV ?

Quote :

3D Vision USB IR emitter or notebook PC with Built-in 3D Vision IR emitter.
NOTE:When using 3DTV Playâ„¢ software to connect to a 3D TV, 3D Vision active shutter glasses are not used. Instead the 3D TV manufacturer's 3D glasses are used

Ok so you DO NEED the Nvidia 3D emitter ... My bad .. ;0)

Supposedly there is, but there is no point to downloading until the next driver release. I have 3D Vision which defaults to 3DTV Play upon setup, that's why I have first hand experience with the nature of the bug in 3DTV Play. The difference is that with 3D Vision, there's a workaround, a way to bypass the bug. With 3DTV Play, there is no workaround, you're stuck with bad picture quality. This bug is why people with 2010 Samsung, Mits, or LG TVs go with TriDef or iZ3D instead of 3DTV Play.
For those who are considering 3DTV Play, Nvidia is currently evaluating whether they will fix the bug, or leave 3DTV Play as it is right now. Nvidia won't announce their decision, we'll only know when we see the next driver release. If you want a non-crippled Nvidia 3D solution and don't want to wait, you'll have to obtain a Nvidia IR emitter which will probably cost you around $170 or so in the USA.
