Survey-Voting: Nvidia should start a: "Nvidia 3D Vision2 PRO VIP memberships" =>for (Ha...
Hello Nvidia and 3D Vision2 Fans, =>Why did Nvidia stopped with support and developing for 3D Vision2 ? One main reason i can think off, but didnt asked: 3D Vision2 support and developing, gives Nvidia and Graphic partners, too much extra cost and no profit at all, because the main reason could be: The number of 3d Vision users, is much lower then 5-10 years ago ??!! But of course: 3D-StereoScopic CAN NOT Die, because it has very much similar thechnics as VR! But VR has a bright future, but the future of 3D Vision2 and other 3D stereo-scopic technics, are (still) very unsure (YET)!?? WHY ?? One of my favorite and future (Serious) Game setup is: One main player with a VR set, is playing a VR/3D game and other players/viewers can view the same 3D scene, with a stereoscopic screen, but the camera is controlled by the VR Headset. Oké, the television manufacturers, stopped with producing new 3D televisions (I could buy and save two 3D televisions: 55inch UHD 3D Oleds!), BUT 3D stereoscopic is STILL VERY MUCH ALIVE in the consumer market for Home cinema's AND (Serious) Gamers !! So (future) consumers for 3D televions, are Home cinema fans, who dont want to darken the living room for the beamer/projector! In this Dutch beamer webshop, you can count that, from all 98 beamers with a minimum resolution of 1080p, 45 (46%) beamers still support 3D Steroscopics!: https://www.beamerwebwinkel.com/ AMD has about the same 3D technology: HD3D and AMD is still supporting this, for the profesional market: (just hit control-f and type hd3d and this gives one hit on the folowing page): https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/radeon-pro-software-settings In the first place, i want to ask you, 4 very important questions and your opinion and answers and how they can be solved??!!: 1] How much money, on a monthly basis, are you willing to pay for the "Nvidia 3D Vision2 PRO VIP membership" ?? I would be willing to pay about €10,-to €20 a month, this depends of the monthly cost for Nvidia and graphic partners for supporting 3D Vision2 software drivers AND the number of members! 2] How much money are you willing to pay, for special (new) software plugins/drivers for 3D Vision2? I would spent a maximum, for about €200,- 3] How much MORE money are you willing to pay for a High End Nvidia grapic card, with 3D vision2 enabled, both software and hardware? I Would spent about a maximum of €500,- higher pricetag,(eg total €1500,-) for a highend Nvidia grapic card, with 3D vision2 enabled! 4] How can we pursue manufacturers of 3D TV's/Monitors/Beamers end/or Projectors, to continue developing 3D? =>By selling 3D capable screens to, at least 3 diffent types of markets: A] Continue develop 3D, for the consumer market for (High end) Home cinema's (i have one too!). B] For Hardcore Gamers (as myself)! (gamers who spent much more money (+€ 3000 or more) for the fastest hardware then a average gamer!!) C] The professional market, including the serious gamers!! So I'am very curious, how do you think about this 4 questons and what's your opinion and/or solutions. I can tell two very good 3D examples: 1] I played Obduction (see Cyan.com) with my two friends on my 3D home cinema and Obduction gives allmost 100% perfect 3D stereo scopics with the Unreal4 engine in DX 11 and Nvidia 3D Vision(2)!!: AND the 3D beamer screen was about 110 inch diagonal or allmost 8 feet wide! 2] If i sent a UHD side-by-side computer-signal (60Hz) on my Oleds tv's, with a special 3D Plugin software: Then the oled-tv is capble of creating a 3D resolution, wich is twice as high in megapixxels for one eye, then compaired with the standaard 3D Bluray technics (1080p/24) !! AND 12,5% more Megapixel for one eye, compaired to 2560x1440 at 120 Hz I want to say again: I'am very curious, how do you think about this 4 questons and 4 solutions and what's your opinion and/or solutions/idea's. I've mused that Nvidia currently discontinued 3D Vision so that they can re-implement it at a later date when Display manufacturers and Game Developers run out of ideas of new features to implement. High Resolution, HDR fail in comparison to what Stereoscopic gameplay brings to immersion. Perhaps VR will keep growing, but if it slows/stalls out, then 3D could be the fallback. But this time with many more developers on-board after their learning experience with VR. (crosses fingers and hopes for 3D Vision 3 in 2025) ;)

I love your optimism :) The fundamental problem with 3D with glasses is that everyone sees the 3D image differently depending on where they sit. This means that manufacturers and media makers absolutely have to ensure the worst possible angle accepts the 3D without headaches etc. This means that all movies and media are intrinsically filmed / made with absolutely minimal levels of convergence and separation. This "leave no man behind" approach inherently leaves the majority of viewers dis-satisfied with the experience, and having the feeling of being sold a gimmick. And they would be correct - 3D as they are spoon fed is absolutely a gimmick. Only properly setup 3D per a single viewing angle from a specific viewing distance can be proper 3D, and truly "WOWing". Unfortunately, this means that glasses 3D is intrinsically flawed for multi view livingroom TVs and projectors and theatres. The only place it can really be a success is gaming monitors, but that too will be a hurdle if AMD (and Intel if their discrete graphics cards get off the ground), don't join the club and everyone pushes it together, rather than using the tech to kill competition. I have never known nVidia to work with competition - their entire business model is to fragment the market as much as possible, to try and lock in users onto their tech. GSync - RTX - PhysX - CUDA - 3DV etc, until they are forced to otherwise. If we want open tech, we are going to have to rely on perhaps AMD, who have never shown great interest in 3D. Future: Imperfect.

I think the greatest benefit of 3D stereo scopic computer graphics: All object on different camera distances, are IN FOCUS! Which is NOT true for the most of the 3D Movies, especialy when the movie is recorded with a 3D stereo scopic Camera! Only objects on the same camera distance, are in Focus, other objects are not!

Lets be realistic here.... You're chasing a pipe dream...Nvidia 3D Vision is never coming back. A sub based membership would be lower than pond scum to charge people who have already invested in a 3D Vision ready GPU+Monitor+Emitter Kit How can we move forward if we continue to post unrealistic threads?

The only chance is to support bo3b and DSS, not NVIDIA !!! NV will give a fuck of us what is understandable ref. the count if users using 3D-Vision those days. Hopefully bo3b will relase his tool for playing 3D-Vision games (fixed with migoto) with VR headset and adress more than us (3D-Vision users) to give him a signal that we are enought for a support ref. a standalone 3D-driver!! Everything else is a waste of time. Major players dont care about + 1 Million of profit or not if the main buissines will give them 100 millions or more. THIS IS REALYTIY i speaking from the real live here, i am confronted with this nonsence every day...
