3d vision Samsung monitor S27A950D
Hi all,

My first time on here and a bit of a novice when it comes to 3d,so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I`ll start with my basic setup first -

Asus rampage extreme vi mother board.
Intel Core i7 3820 Quad Core CPU (3.60GHz, 10MB Cache, Socket 2011, 130W, Sandy Bridge)
Patriot Viper Xtreme Division 4 Series 1866MHz 32GB Quad Channel Memory Kit
Nvidia GTX 690
surround tripple Samsung 3d Synmaster S23A700D 120hz monitors.

Ok Ive been having problems getting bothe Tridef that came with the monitors and 3d vision that I would prefare.
Basically I`m obviously doing somthing wrong.
Was hoping somone could give me directions to get both 3d vision and tridef working.
Regarding the 3d vision I get the test screen but glasses not working.
With tridef i get the glasses working but only see double screens??
I can get the monitors built in 2d-3d working by selecting on monitors thats about it.
Please if someone can help with the settings or walk through`s I would really apreciate it as this is driving me nut`s.
Please PM me or reply to this thread.

Thank`s

PS APOLOGIES PASTED THE WRONG MONITOR ON HEADING. MY MONITORS ARE THE Samsung 3d Synmaster S23A700D.

Unfortunately the newer Samsung 3D displays < 32" are not supported by 3D Vision or 3DTV Play. Long story short, Nvidia and Samsung went through a nasty divorce when it comes to 3D so Nvidia no longer officially supports Samsung displays directly. There may be some ways to get your monitors to work using EDID override, but if you're hoping for 3D Vision Surround support that's going to be a complete crapshoot.

Personally, I would see if you can return the Samsung displays and pick up 3x3D Vision Ready displays. There's plenty to choose from nowadays.

Thanks for your reply,

The test page for the 3d vision works in surround, does this mean I only need an emulator?

Sorry for Nvidia, but 3D Vision supported displays are really expensive, and not plenty to choose/ nor available. People buying Samsung displays(good price and quality) does not know about this licensing battle and have a bitter surprise when trying PC's 3D. I have the 3D Vision kit and I'm stuck with old drivers that works with my Sammy monitor. USB emulators and other EDID override that I tried did not provide good results.

Presumably tridef is compatible with nvidia cards and also 3d surround (correct me if i`m wrong)so probably stick with the tridef if correct.

I guess it depends where you live, there's plenty of 3D Vision 23-24" displays available for less than $300 which is competitive with Samsung's similar offerings. Last week Newegg had a 15% off sale that brought the Asus 23" kit down to ~$280 with glasses I believe. There was a similar deal on the Planar 23" but it seems that model has since been discontinued. The Samsung displays have always been priced similarly with worst 3D support compared to the Nvidia options.

But yes ultimately the consumer ends up losing, big corporations like Nvidia and Samsung don't care that much though as these are just business decisions for them. Another example of Samsung's stubborness when it comes to this kind of thing is with their Smart HDTVs. Want Amazon Instant Video on your Samsung? Good luck with that....

Ok i really want the 3d vision so will sell my 3 brand new Samsung SyncMaster S23A700D 23" Widescreen LED Monitors boxed on e*** and invest in the BenQ XL2420T 24 LCD Monitors. It`s a shame as i have only taken out of box to test, but had them more than 2 weeks so cant return them.Anyway at least i know there in perfect condition with no dead pixels and no bleeding.
once i get home from my hol`s there will be auctioned off with original receipt and warranty. Can be done with messing around with walkrounds to get them to work with 3d vision.
Thanks for all your help..
