No it is grayed out in the menu , i have firmware 1.0.1 that have some problems, but i dont want to send it to benq, not just yet, dont think i have ever done a EDID override, i did have a benq 600+ and managed it to run 3d vision 2, (installed different drivers for the projektor)the thing is that I fear is that i will have send it in to benq to get the 1.0.3 firmware, (maybe thats why its grayed out ?) will try the EDID override as soon as i figure out how to, a big thank you, i will write back when I figured it out

I've only heard that the Benq has a bug which reverses 3D eyes every 30 seconds on older firmware. But generally 3D should work. When you open Nvidia Control Panel and click on "Set up stereoscopic 3D" - what do you see there currently? Is your projector listed as 3DTV Play device? Not sure why 3D is grayed out in projector menu. Maybe it's only possible to choose if you set 1280x720 @ 60 hz or 1920x1080@24 hz for your desktop resolution. Or maybe if you send a 3D signal in frame packaging format via 3DTV Play when playing a game. For installing the EDID override please follow this tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIhjjcoyX_s

yeah thx, thats what i did on my old projektor, my cord i have only do 4k 30fps but that should be ok for 1080p 3d right ? i did the fix and it looks like it should work but i get a blue screen when the 3d is on the projektor, got some green dots and distortions on the screen, uninstalled my grafics card drivers and reinstalled my drivers and its back to normal, so i guess it did not work...

it is detected as 3D tv Play and i see the hdmi checkerboard. with the overide it was detected as a Generic CRT but it was to much destortion and lost signal when 3d turned on in the nvidia wizard and i dont want to change to the optima because i like the picture of the benq better, but i am kind of out of ides at this point.

Was the image distorted in 2D mode or only in 3D mode with the EDID override? Generally when uninstalling or reinstalling your graphics driver the EDID override is being reset. Concerning lost 3D signal - maybe you need a better cable? I have a 7,5m HDMI cable capable of 4k @ 60hz. 3D works perfectly with it in 1920x1080 @ 120hz. Did you set desktop resolution to 1920x1080 @ 120hz before starting 3D Vision setup wizard? You can also try to enable 3D with 3D Fix Manager (to skip the wizard).

Sorry you're still having problems, I'm interested in this too as still leaning towards the TK800. Inicidentally, the TK800 just had a firmware upgrade to 1.01 which enables manual selection of 3d modes, unknown if that includes frame sequential though. Anyway, I digress. Paul's right, definitely try the desktop at 1920x1080 @ 120hz in 2d. That should eliminate the cable as being the issue. Also, I don't know the menu structure on these projectors, but I think there's a good chance you'll have to enable 'silent mode' which disables the 4k/XPR pixel shifting. The reason I asked about 3d modes was mainly to enquire about frame sequential support, as unless the projector has this you'll almost certainly have to use the 3d vision glasses rather than DLP glasses, but that's not necessarily a problem as we need to solve the other problems first anyway. Good luck.

Also pay attention to connect the HDMI cable to the correct port of the projector. There are 2 HDMI ports and only one of them is capable of 1920x1080 @120hz according to the user manual (page 44) The projector seems to support frame sequential, frame packed, side by side and top & bottom formats. So theoretically 3D Vision should work. Good luck!

But its not the cable now it have to be something els, tried both hdmi ports just because, any ides what that is 24hz ? or is it the cable ? shouldn't be when i get 4k 60hz right ? i only se 120hz at 1280 x 800 1920 x 1080 30 hz (interlaced) and 60hz is the max i can see

It seems to me the EDID doesn't work for you well. You may try others. Tough i can't remember of other EDID files for projectors being reported to work with 3D Vision. But some guys wrote they had success with that projector and 120Hz. Got no time to read through now, but here you are: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/68-digital-projectors-under-3-000-usd-msrp/2929784-benq-w1700-4k-hdr-3d-dlp-projector-25.html#post55603098

So not even in normal 2D mode you can switch to 1920x1080 @ 120hz for your desktop? (with original Benq EDID)? I can't say for sure but another guy in AVS forum confirmed that your projector supports 1920x1080 @ 120hz (and also the manual says that 1920x1080 @120hz is officially supported in 2d mode). However he did not try it with 3D Vision - only regular 2D mode. Are you using any adapters? HDMI - DVI or something like that? How long is your cable? If you can't make it run in 2D mode in 1920x1080 @120hz it won't run in 3D mode either in this resolution and refresh rate. 1920x1080 @ 24hz is for 3DTV Play. It's ok for bluerays but for gaming 24 fps is far too less. Did you succeed to make it work in 3DTV play at least? This should work out of the box without any EDID override.

its the cord and i got the eye switching bug so i will get a fiberoptic cord tomorrow, i have a cinema room and i need like 8-10 meters, this should have done it, got it working but i also get some strange distortions random on 4k 60fps when gaming so had to uninstall it again, cord is the problem got a expensive one for like 110 dollars like, will go for a fiberoptic one for insane 230 dollars, and have to send the w1700 in to benq for the firmware upgrade, thx for all the help, really appreciate it,firmware 1.0.1 wont work with 3d, shifting from working 3d to a pile of shit, i will be back when we upgrade to the Sony VPL-VW360ES or somthing like that, in 3-4 months, and i will be back with a update when if i get it to work, thx guys.

However, as Paul says, the starting point is to get 1920x1080@120Hz working in 2d mode. That is the absolutely the first test you need to pass. You might need to enable silent mode to do that. In a sense, the 3d modes that the projector supports are irrelevant. If you can get 120hz working in 2d and you can get CRT mode in the 3d vision drivers, then you can use the 3d vision glasses and you'll get 3d, regardless of what the projector thinks.
