I would like to know too. I found some tweaks somewhere that helped a bit, but it still looked meh and it gave me headaches.

Its fake 3d no matter how you slice it pretty much. But 3dsolutiongaming did a lot of research into optimizing it it.

Video actually seems pretty good considering(im on a 70" projector) and with frustum it looks like that can handle the warping.
Sadly it is still borked no matter how much time you spend on it. As you add depth you see all the anomolies. It really does remind me of the vision you get with a migrain - strangely distorted.
However, uf you can handle low depth gaming, say 15%; it is great looking. Beyond 30% and it begins to suck big time.

I didn't mind the reprojection 3d too much really. I finished the game a couple times. the psuedo 3d is still better than plain flatland. Aside from that, the sharp textures, and parallax textures in the game are just plain awesome. I wish more games used those texture techniques, but with true 3d.

Crysis 1 is really good in 3D and a very good experience. Its not locked down like in 2.
Although i used Tridef come to think of it, but i had assumed it was the same for Nvidia. Hopefully someone will chime in about how 1 looks using Nvidia.
If the visual problems with 3D can be turned off the same way they were with Tridef, i say its a must play. I had originally thought the whole thing would take place in the jungle, which i don't like for some reason. But it turned out to have a wide variety of landscapes and most are huge and sort of magnanimous, especially realistic depth settings (ie, eyes forward when viewing objects on the horizon). Thanks to the graphics plateau that consoles seem to have caused, it still looks relatively good compared to recent games in my opinion.

Crysis 1 okay in 3d. Its real, you got to disable stuff. Its one of those titles that was amazing back then but compared to games now *shrug*. Stuff you got to disable is listed in compatibility list.

Im almost speechless. I just finished Crysis 2. Im just blow away at this game. I can't believe the level of detail I see in the game. There moments where I thought if the resolution were simply increased, the scene would look like real life. Wow. I highly recommend this game, even in 2D. The lighting was spot on. The detail was off the charts. Looking along the coast, the level designers had put buildings almost as far as the eye could see. I personally love urban environments in a apocalyptic setting and this game didn't disappoint. There were burnt out skyscrapers and rubble/debris everywhere. Everything appropriate had seemed to have a bump and specular map.
I played in 2D and spent an annoying amount of time trying to make sure i was using the nicest graphic options. In particular i wanted proper AA, which i LUCKILY found was possible. The only AA in the Crysis 2 options is "MSAA" (wrongly labeled) and "Edge AA", both are post process AAs, they are garbage on my low DPI setup. Using this trick i got some proper AA with a very high framerate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbjr72VYepo This was a huge improvement! I also enabled some sharpness on the TV. To get anisotropic filtering to 16, i used a program called "Crysis 2 advanced graphical options v1.8", which created an autoexec.cfg file in the C2 folder, which i then edited myself because it inserted values of 0 for bloom and HDR, which i didn't imagine was good, although i didn't do much testing on them. Finally, i increased the FOV to 80, which was a major improvement on my 46" screen.
Couldn't believe how good it looked. This game would have been stunning in proper 3D. What a shame.

I must be doing something really wrong because the game doesnt look that good at all to me, also gameplay was just ok, story is non existant and the annoying lack of quicksaves made some levels stupidly hard, really average game in every sense to me

The game looked like ass until i disabled post-processing AA, enable 16x AF, and enabled SGSSAA for its AA effect. Even then, my on-tv sharpening did quite an interesting number on the look. All of those things are set by default and not modifiable via the in-game menu options. Have you tried tweaking anything?
Also, i felt the game was too easy in some cases, but I used the hell out out cloak mode though. Like the game suggested, the suit is designed for hit and run attacks. I followed that mentality. I hate to admit, i eventually gave up on trying to save my A.I. buddies, which i hate doing, but the scenery was so nice i had to stop and stare. I get a real rush out out feeling like im in a cool place.

With the "leaked beta" of crysis2 it was possible to enable dual rendering(real 3d not 2.5d).
I think this was cut down in retail version for some reason.

I don't get it. Native *REAL* 3D is supposedly built in to Cryengine 3, so I have no idea why they locked it out of the game. I have to laugh at their claims that Crysis2 would be the "Avatar" of 3D gaming. No way I'll be buying Crysis3.
