if you think $600 is too much for you, then it probably is. for others, it isn't. many of us have spent far more than that on stereoscopic display solutions.

you're obviously talking about the GeForce 3D Vision Bundle. the $400 extra that costs over the glasses kit alone is what you're paying for the 2233RZ monitor. it is a pretty high price to pay for a 22" display, but samsung makes excellent displays.

you can't buy the monitor separately, yet, afaict, so there's really no other way to get one.

if you think that's too much to pay, by all means buy a different stereoscopic display system.

if you think that $200 is too much to pay for the glasses / emitter / driver, then don't buy it. i find it to be worth it. it's the first really polished stereoscopic 3D PC gaming solution on the market.

To answer your question: I was extremely cautious about spending $600 on a 3-D solution I had never tested before. I was very worried that it would turn out to be a "gimmick" and I would consider the money wasted.

However, I am very pleased with the end result. I don't know if you play World of Warcraft or not -- but I consider their 3-D implementation to be the best of all the games I've tried with this technology and I play WoW 90% of the time anyway so I'm very happy about that.

I wouldn't play in 2D mode, there is no reason to. 3D is so much better and the game is very playable.

So yes: it is expensive. And yes, I'm glad I bought it. I'm having a blast and am looking forward to my next upgrade to make it even better. I hope they continue this product line and keep improving upon it. This technology really adds a huge "fun factor" to the game.

ditto here.. very much worth it. makes me want to replay old games i have missed out on s3d over the past two years since my z800/ edimensional glasses went defunct. there are some glitches yet but the difference in game play is not comparable to 2d. running and jumping from roofs in mirrors edge, seeing the crazy fireworks in warhammer dawn of war, all in stereo 3d ??.. priceless as they say.

The Unreal engine games work very well with it also.

I'm playing UT2004 and Unreal 2 again now, just because they're so stunning in 3d. Every now and again you find some poles or pipes (especially if unattached for some reason) that ghost, but mostly they work great.

With your rig i guess you could play UT3 in 3d without problem. Did you try it? If so how is it? Im think about upgrading to 3d mostly for this game. Seeing that big tripod in 3d must be awesome.

I have used the , ED-Glasses,Z800, Zalmon Trimon, and Iz3d Monitor/Glasses and thus far I am most impressed with the Nvidia setup. My 2nd choice would be the Iz3d but the issue I had with it is that it does not work with sli and seems to lower my fps more. Nvidia did a great job with the 3dvision and its very impressive. My only complant is that the right eye flickers however based on what I am reading it maybe related two either the SLI setup or mt IR headphones.
