Important: report this 3D bug to Nvidia if you are affected
On Windows 10 (at least the 1803 update), all drivers after 391.35 broke the ability of fullscreen optimizations to make 3D Vision work in DX11 borderless windowed fullscreen games. For example, with the 411.70 drivers I couldn't find any way to enable 3D in the PCSX2 emulator.
I have reported the bug to Nvidia today. If you are affected too (try other DX11 games in borderless fullscreen mode comparing the 391.35 drivers to newer versions), tell Nvidia. With Pascal or older GPUs we can still use the older drivers, but Turing and newer will be screwed forever if this isn't fixed.
I want to be able to play PCSX2 (and other non exclusive fullscreen games) in the long term and this bug is dangerous.
Some games that you can try:
- PCSX2.
- Shantae Half-Genie Hero. In the blog post I wrote a workaround for the bug.
- Dead Cells. My fix isn't ready, so it will be flat, but you'll see that 3D Vision will be enabled in borderless fullscreen mode only with the older drivers. It has exclusive fullscreen too.
- Turok. Borderless fullscreen works in 3D for me with the old drivers.
- Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.
- Final Fantasy XII.
- Skyrim SE.

I wonder if this is related to Windows 10 Borderless Fullscreen refresh rate issue being reported as "working freesync"...

It seems that indeed PCSX2 emulator doesn't work with 3D Vision anymore.
It starts in borderless fullscreen, but alt+enter does absolutely nothing...
Using 411.70.

Last night I was in the mood for Trine 2. When I ran the game 3d initiated but had no effect. But for some reason somewhere along the line the registry key "StereoDefaultOn" was changed to 0x00000000 (0). So I had to enable 3DV every time I entered a game. With Trine it didn't want to work. When I changed it back to 0x00000001 (1) everything was sorted. (have no clue how this got changed) Probably not related to this problem but worth a go if you guys haven't tried it already.
Btw, do you guys know where to find registry values for keys like "SaveStereoImage" currently on 0x00000470 (1136)..? I want to change this to F4 or F5 instead for Ctrl+F1.

Honestly I cannot remember that 3D ever worked for me in borderless fullscreen mode for DirectX 11 games. I always set it to exclusive fullscreen and also automating this in 3DFM. Skyrim SE never worked for me in borderless fullscreen. How did you make this work exactly in older drivers?

I'd check but my Win10 rig was mostly older WinXP hardware, first NVIDIA kicked me in the nuts by dropping Driver support for the 500 series a few months back(April?) and then after a couple hard lockups about a week ago it just sh*t the bed...

I didn't do anything special. It suddenly started working when I updated Windows 10 to the 1803 update, I think.
Kaimasta has already told me that he can't do it with the drivers I mentioned. It may be related to my monitor being G-Sync capable. I need some tests from someone that has that, like Necropants.
Try the 391.35 drivers, people. Please.

Wish I could assist but I don't have this combination Masterotaku. I'm on win8.1. If there are other things you might want to compare please ask.

uuuh borderless fullscreen mode in dx11 never worked for me period. I just assume it was a thing... Dx9 does in some games not all, you are probably right that it's monitor related I have been using these gsync monitors for along time at this point.

There were a few dx11 games that worked in Window mode. It seems that this was due to the fact that they were originally released in dx9 and were a mix of dx11 and dx9 draw calls.
World of Warcraft was one of them.
Anyways, that's a lil bit off topic...
....back on topic...
bo3b was able to get Borderless Window working in the Telltale games for Windows 7 users, if worse comes to worse, perhaps it could be extended to W10.
But by all means, if you have W10 and can duplicate this, please submit a "driver regression" bug. These are typically the easiest for Nvidia to fix, since there is a last known working driver.

That's the form I filled yesterday. Although I should have mentioned more games in it.
Borderless fullscreen is helping me a lot in Nioh (for fixing). Alt+tabbing in exclusive fullscreen makes it crash after a few seconds, but borderless never crashes.

I discovered an stupid thing:
Games pseudo-full-screen like Dungeon Hunter (w10 store) doesn't work in 3D vision, BUT if you disconnect the ir emitter so anaglyph is activated you can play the game in anaglyph stereoscopic 3D. This is a shame, why can we use that ugly 3D but no nvidia glasses? The game looks spectacular but is difficult to play in anaglyph.
