3D Vision Dropped CRT Support??
Hey All, I just found out that nVidia has DROPPED ALL support for CRT Mode and even removed CRT Mode from their drivers.. OK Fine but what do I do know. I use a CRT Monitor?? I guess I am Forced to buy new Monitors know but only problem is I do NOT make Alot of money probally the poorest 3D Gamer alive haha.. But not complainig because I am poor but CRT Mode has worked for me for years and know nVidia is playing like they never had it and just giving all us CRT Users the cold shoulder what was the reason behind this decision?? I mean I can understand NOT Offering CRT Support now but really. my Problem is that I had installed the new Drivers by accident seemed they somehow where put updated during a Windows Update even tho I had Windows ONLY updates checked.. but know CRT Mode switches to Discover mode by itself and before I game I have to go into CP and switch it too CRT Mode.. Now I have tried to uninstall the drivers and use Driver sweeper and CCLeaner still the switch continues.. is there a way to COMPLETELY Remove the remenants of the NEWER Vido drivers?? I was planiing to get some new Certified 3D DLP PRojectors probally the Acer 1261J but that want be for at least 3 months while I save my pennies.. So in the meantime do I have to live with this annoying switch to CRT Mode or can I revert back to the way it used to work where it Styayed in CRT Mode indefinetely.. thnx;;

Users, starting with the first 300 drivers complained of no CRT period. If you are at least getting the option for CRT, they must be reimplimenting it. So you might post in the Beta Driver thread forum, then it can maybe get fixed for the next release. It won't be a problem for you, because I assume you have a Nvidia 3D Vision kit. But anyone gaming using 3DTV Play, should not use a driver sweeper due to the fact that it will erase your key and use up an activation. There have been several users complaining about having a hard time renewing their activations after ususing up the initial 5.

I have a fabulous CRT monitor too (one of the last sold) and I wish I could play with it and my GTX 660 TI. It is a shame Nvidia stopped giving us support for CRT's and force us to buy new hardware. The driver worked with it before, so it is not a compatibility probem, it is a marketing decision problem, and I would agree if Nvidia bought me the new compatible monitor. Can you imagine if Windows 8 would not support Nvidia cards and force you to buy ATI?

hey all I just installed the newest whql drivers the 310.70 ones and CRT support is STILL there who is saying that CRT support was dropped???? perhaps it was NOT working in some beta driver s but nVidia did NOT drop CRT Support so far.. Wonder why when I called nVidia they said they can not help me with my problem since I use a CRT Monitor?? oh wel it maybe a mute point as it might be fixed I will see in a day or so after booting and rebooting a few times..

That is surprizing but good news for you and other crt-users! Personally i've seen so much dropped support from nvidia about older solutions since they introduced their bloody 3d-vision that i'm not astonished about their capers anymore. Assuming that crt-support was gone forever was probably not wrong since it's gone in the later drivers.

Are you sure CRT mode is back with the newer drivers 310.70???? I am using the beta 310.70, and using my TV, the Nvidia control Panel only sees 3DTV Play or HDMI checkerboard, no CRT mode???? Maybe this is only happening with the WHQL drivers, not sure though???? The last driver I've used that had CRT mode was 296...
