Crysis3 3D Vision - How to increase default maximum depth by tweaking 3D settings???
5 / 5
I have tried with this and wasn`t happy without gun so i`ve changed to this. Very little halo around gun and other objects with quite impresive depth as well. I am preaty happy with it. Will play like this for a while and the i`ll try to add some depth. If anybody would like to play with this setup i will post screenshot from CVar tool. If not i`ll wait till get final setup.

Bo3b is probably going to punch me in the face. [Please don't! ;D ] These screenies look quite good! Crysis303 shows loads of depth even when superimposed (still very layered but more of them). Crysis 3's fake 3D is far superiour to Crysis 2's.
Haha! No worries. When I saw those screen shots before I thought the same thing- this might be fake, but damn it looks good.

YES! Please share changes. Crysis3 does have some decent eye-candy which still looks impressive in 2D or fake 3D. While I've always wanted more depth the desire never out weighed the need to dig through seemingly countless Crysis2 threads for possible changes+experiment to get positive results.

This one is after only small change to convergence so it should be peaty close to last screenshots. From now every time i post other ones i will place them with config as well.
EDIT: no it`s 3D Stereo HUD Distance i`ve changed.
What's about this AMD HD3D Option inCrysis3 configurator?
Does it mean full blown no fake 3d for AMD users?
No this is just to switch CryEngine to theirs 3D format which is way different. Basically you got two steps - one is to create Stereo3D picture (in this case that all fake one) and then use it with supported hardware/software. AMD work through TriDef so to get best results they put this extra option to switch off other because people had problem to do that.

I am considering buying the gear for 3D just because of Crysis3, but first reading this thread I was thinking 'why bother'. Glad I read the rest as it looks like ppl's minds have changed and are pretty positive about the fake 3D, despite the need for cvar settings and whatnot to get good results.
I think I'm going the route of hooking up my computer via HDMI to my TV. I recently purchased the 'wrong' ASUS monitors but the TV is 60" so should be a solid experience.
I'm also a BF3, FC3 and other FPS games... should I continue on my quest towards 3D?

You should definitely get into 3d, it's incredible and you won't look back. Though just be aware that Crysis 3, while not terrible, is not an ideal 3d experience.

From this three games you did mention definitely Far Cry 3 will be your best 3D experience. Think about the other two as a better solution the plain 2D.

Crysis 1 (need to play with medium shaders and shadows off!)
Crysis 2 - NO!
Crysis 3 - is OK. I just bought it. Don't regret it. Way better than 2 but compared to a game which renders 3D well or a fixed game - very poor. I'm sorry, it really is.
FC3 is great!
B3 should be great but the convergence is way too low so it looks flat :(
Borderlands 2 great (with fix), Dishonoured is great (with fix), Skyrim is great (with fix), Civilizion 5 is great, the Batmans are great, Grid 2 is great (with fix), War Thunder is great, Guildwars 2 is Great (with fix). I enjoy Shogun 2 (with 'fix')
Should you go 3D? Yes!
IMPORTANT!!!!
DO NOT compare 3D gaming to cinema. Gaming is WAY better.
REMEMBER: Game dev programmers may be awesome at programming games but useless at playing them; nvidia make great 3D hardware and drivers but are clueless (laughably so) at what is good 3D.
Basically, it does take a bit of time to get to grips with it and please PLEASE ignore their recommendations! I was disappointed at first but that was because I didn't realise it was OK and normal (for many) to set depth to 100% (not 15% recommended - hah!) and realised + or - Convergence settings found in advanced (really nvidia?) are as important as the + or - depth settings! If you are willing to experiment and learn how to set up the 3D you will never go back to 2D.
