Just removed all Nvidia drivers again, uninstalled Service pack 1, and then reinstalled 266.58 drivers including latest 3D vision drivers and the 3D wizard ran OK and all games run fine now.
There is defiantly an issue with Windows 7 Service pack 1 when using latest 266.58 drivers with latest 3D vision drivers.

Guys, there are new drivers out. Go to Guru3d.com and try out the 266.77 drivers, they are WHQL compliant. I am running them with SP1 just installed, and GTX 580s in 3-Way SLi, just got through mowing through a few levels of Crysis with no issues what so ever.
If it happens again, I'd suggest redownloading SP1 completely, as your DL may have been fubared. ::shrug:: Worth a try.

I had 266.77 already installed before installing SP1. Have the same issues, so they don't help at all unless maybe they'r installed after. Crashes mostly and performance issues on some games(under 5fps) seem to happen only on direct3D games, openGL seem to run fine(only tested Wolfenstein:enemy territory).
Since the problem seems to be general, i doubt re-downloading/installing SP1 will fix anything.
Edit: Oh and i doubt 3D vision has nothing to do with it, i don't even have it installed.

Do you have your 3D activated automatically or via a key once you are ready? I could imagine that might make a bit of difference.

I've had the technet SP1 release running on here for several days now, no new issues caused by it whatsoever on a 420m machine and a 8500 gt

There is defiantly an issue with Windows 7 Service pack 1 when using latest 266.58 drivers with latest 3D vision drivers.
Now that's funny!

I am having the same exact problem and suspected the same exact thing. Hopefully there will be some updated drivers in the next day or two.

If it happens again, I'd suggest redownloading SP1 completely, as your DL may have been fubared. ::shrug:: Worth a try.
