3D Vision turns on unwanted
Hello, i have a problem with 3D Vision as it turns on as soon as i run 1080p@24Hz. I had a Radeon 7750 before, and it was only turning on 3D if a running application was sending a 3D signal e.g. PowerDVD or Stereoscopic Player. Other applications running with 1080p@24Hz were still 2D, like MediaPortal or MPC-HC. Now with my GTX 670 it is turning on 3D as soon as i run something with 1080p@24Hz, no matter if it really is 3D or not. Is there any way i can get it to work like with an AMD Card? If not i need to get a R9 280X cause i am not willing to switch 3D on/off manually all the time. Even ctrl+T is not really turning of 3D cause my beamer is still running @frame Packed 3D Mode. Just the 3D effect is gone. Only turning off 3D vision in Control Panel helps, but this is not an acceptable solution.

This makes it easier, but is still not nearly as comfortable as with an AMD card were i don't have anything to do. I still can't believe that nVidia is not providing a better solution for this. Still my favorite for gaming, but for Media PCs? No.

Use regedit to change the StereoDefaultOn key to 0(0=Off, 1=On) 64-bit(32 omit Wow6432Node\?) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D Or save the following as *.reg and run(64-bit)
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D] "StereoDefaultOn"=dword:00000000
... sorry on my phone. :)

Yes. Ctrl+T, unless you reconfigured the keys, will turn it on in-game if it's enabled. So when you start a game with 3D Vision enabled in the control panel, the game will start in '2D' and you'll have to hit Ctrl+T to turn 3D on.

ok thanks that worked fine and i prefer it over the standard setting. but what i hoped for that the monitor doesnt switch automatically in 3d mode diddnt work. when i have 3d turned on in the nvdia driver menue my monitor always switches to 3d mode when i start a game. thats kind of annoying because in 3dmode i have to say goodbye to some features of my monitor like brighter image, blur buster, 144hz and some others. right now i always have to turn off 3d in the nvdidia driver menue, and thats quite annoying and makes the system unstable if u dont reboot after a switch, atleast thats my experience. is there any way to prevent that the monitor switches automatically ind 3dmode? that would be great

That's just the way it works, if it's enabled you can only set whether it starts in 3D with the StereoDefaultOn 'setting' but '3D Vision' is still running, so you can toggle it on/off in-game ... or like Kingping1 suggested, you need a way to fully toggle on/off '3D Vision' but this can't be done in-game ... I've never used 1080p24 so I have no experience with it but if it was one specific app, and not the resolution itself, you could add the app to a profile that disables 3D Vision perhaps, although I'm not sure if in your case that would be just like setting the StereoDefaultOn to 0 though, sorry ... unfortunately there isn't much actual NVIDIA support around here ... well for 3D Vision at least. It's generally just fellow users trying to help each other out ...
