Guarantee if the driver breaks my emitter?
I ask this question because I have had to buy two Nvidia 3d vision packs up to now, because the 1st was broken and I don't know the cause. Does Nvidia have a compromise of replace me a new emitter if my existing one is broken due to the continuous plugs on and off every time I turn on Windows to let the OS to recognize it? I mean, this is a problem related to the driver that does not recognize the emitter properly, and I have had this problem since 4 or 5 months ago. I doubt that the unit is designed to practice such thing, so I guess it is possible to be broken some day for that reason. My question is clear.., does Nvidia have a compromise of replace the unit in the case it is broken for that reason, even out of guaranty period?

where do you live? In EU you have 2 years minimum tech guarantee, up to 6 years? Also, if you bought this item on credit card, I believe it is world wide policy to be insured for 2 years (but don't quote me, I know EU law, not US) Also, plugging an item into and back into the computer would constitute standard usage. But if you hand back a bent as hell USB plug, they could argue quite rightly that you were overly aggressive with the product.

I do not plug/unplug the usb cord from the cpu tower, but from the emitter itself, as it is much more accesible for me and I have to do it very frequently. Anyway I don't understand why this has not been fixed yet, as it is not something that happens only to me, but to many people (maybe to all the people, I don't know).

Whats your problem exactly? i used to have a separate emitter, but now mine is integrated. sometimes when it gets stuck on or off, i must change resolution and then it works. Is that similar to your problem? It would seem like driver problems, but unfortunately the tech seems to be on the back burner... anyway, pulling out the micro usb from the back of the emitter should be fine, I charge my glasses all the time, requiring the same connection, and its fine, No reason why it should break your nvidia cable or emitter :-)

The problem is that Nvidia control panel doesn't detect the emitter and only shows the option "3D Vision Discover". I unplug/plug the micro usb from the emitter and Windows 7 recognizes it. It has been happening since the last 5 or 6 drivers.

ah, yeah i had this once, but never again... can you try a different USB port? another thing that may help is stopping usb going to sleep, as i have found that to cause problems with some devices. also, when I've had long problems with nvidia drivers, a full proper clean "registry and all" and reinstall has helped. sorry I cant be more help, i would say update your OS, but considering how god awful the windows 8 user experience is (which I'm using) i'll refrain from that "tip" ;-)

We only provide hardware support while in warranty however we do have some tips for the emitter. 1) Generally try to connect the emitter to a USB port mounted directly to the motherboard. USB ports from the FP connectors or a rear bracked may interfere with the emitters ability to sync properly. Also do not share the USB port with other devices 2) do not use a USB cable more than about 10ft. in lenth.

We can't fix your bug if we can't reproduce it. Please provide as much details as possible including specs, steps to reproduce, graphics settings used, etc..

Thanks for the reply, but: 1) The emitter is connected to one of the four usb ports of the motherboard. I have tried with others of these ports and the same problem. 2) I am using the cord provided with the emitter. I had no problem with old drivers, so it must be a driver problem, not a hardware problem..., otherwise the problem would be with all driver versions. I'm afraid that I'm not the only person with this kind of problem.
