Weird effect in Max Payne 2 when looking into rooms or through windows
I just got my setup today and, so far, it's incredible! I know what others mean about the ghosting at the top as I can see it loses its convergence, but mine is minimal and quite faint - hardly noticeable. Thankfully it's not an issue since it is in the periphery of my vision. I read that epic thread about the ghosting issue and I was worried, but I consider myself lucky at this point. Now, as far as games go, early on I gotta say HalfLife 2 has me absolutely floored! There are little things in the game that I never noticed before simply because I can walk up to them and examine them in a 3d space, for instance, a printer in a lab spitting out paper. Incredible!
Anyway, I fired up Max Payne 2, got the convergence and depth set to my liking using the hallway of Max's apartment as a reference. But the 3d gets screwed up when I look back through the door to his actual abode. As soon as I walk back into the room proper, it's like the 3d snaps back into the correct view. Same thing when I go into the old lady's place or look out the window. It must be related to how the game engine handles transitions, I guess. Has anyone else noticed this in this game? It's annoying and a real headache inducer, otherwise it looks fabulous. Thank God Half Life 2 doesn't exhibit this, just glorious 3D mindblowingness! I am very happy with this purchase and have to admit was worried yesterday. Not anymore.
Many thanks to all who have taken the time to give their input about this product. /heart.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> /wave.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Hey,
I know it is an old game but I bought it on sale. 3D vision kicks in, but then it is flimmering or sth. So weird. Unfortunately unplayable like this. Does anyone of you guys has the game and can check if he gets the same problems? It is similar for MP1 and 2.

I did play the game a few month ago, and it was flawless in 3D, and actually a very nice oldie :P
I used this mod for it though, don't know if it had anything to do with it ??
Please try it, makes the game more MP 3 :) http://www.moddb.com/mods/payne-evolution/downloads/payne-evolution
If it hasn't something to do with that, I'll try installing it again sometime over the weekend...
OK some more infos on the problem.
I installed the mod which looks really cool. The problem is actually that 3D vision turns itself on and off within seconds. This might be a driver issue or not ( I am using the latest driver). Does anyone had this with 3d vision before and knows how he fixed it (without installing a new driver)?
