New Asus GTX 980Ti, three new 27" Asus VG278HE 144Hz monitors, new 3D Vision 2 kit.
Got the latest GPU drivers installed. I got the 5760x1080 surround configured fine. Got my 3D vision kit charged up and plugged into PC. Going through the 3D wizard, I get a giant, red error message, "Warning: attempt to run Stereoscopic 3D in a non-stereo display mode, please change to an acceptable mode."
Doing a little research, it looks like this is a message that would display if the monitor didn't have a high enough refresh rate and if running multiple monitors and one or more being a low refresh rate monitor it won't let the high refresh rate configure correctly. Well, all three of my monitors are identical 144Hz.
So I open the control panel up, which I'm very new to by the way as this is my first NVIDIA card, and I'm looking around to see what I can see. Under "adjust desktop size and position" I see that my refresh rate is set at 60Hz with the only option being 60Hz. Why isn't this showing 144Hz??? I feel like this is the key to my problem, but I'm unsure as how to fix it.
Help! Thanks!

You need to buy one or two Display Port to DVI "Active" adapters depending on which GPU that you have.

Sure wish I knew this before I opened the 3D Vision kit. I would never have bought it. Actually wish I knew this before buying these monitors. Would've just gone with regular and much cheaper 60Hz monitors like I've gamed on for years.
Thanks for your help

Aye, tis unfortunate that the VG278HE doesn't have a Display Port connection. But it is a very good monitor, I've had mine for 2 years and have been very happy with it for 3D gaming.
As mentioned in the other threads, be sure to check out the stereoscopic compatibility fixes at http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/10/game-list-automatically-updated.html

I'd assume he can at least run one monitor in stereo 3D with his current gear. Before you go the buyer's remorse route and cut your losses, I'd try a little 3D Vision gaming on a single monitor. Just to get a taste of what's possible.

It’s really ridiculous! I swear to God these companies are all in cahoots or are the same company with different names. Make a card that requires more stuff other than the card to make it “fully” functional. Make a monitor that requires special accessories to make it “fully” functional. I’m just about sick of playing these companies games (pun intended). It’s too bad I can’t be satisfied with just enough…I want it ALL.
Let me guess, the Helix Mod thing is like the widescreen fixer? Fix games that should be able to do stuff from the factory but can’t without this third party software? Jesus…..

From what I’ve read, I can probably run the monitor in 3D that I have hooked directly to the DVI-D port, but would probably have to physically unhook the other two to do so.
I may give that a whirl if I have time. Going through this shit year after year with upgrades wouldn’t even be that bad if I had time to mess with it all. But one set back means a week’s worth of evenings reading and experimenting to get it to work like it should. My cost per hour for this shit is ungodly high. I have literally not even turned on my new 70” Vizio HDTV in a month. Just don’t have time for it.
But I guess ya’ll don’t need to hear about any of that. :)
Thanks again, guys. Guess in a month or so when my credit card bill has been paid down and my temper has plateaued I will consider a couple active adapters to make everything “fully functional.” *rolls eyes*

Just so I know what to be looking for..... Any active adapter that says it supports 2560x1600 resolution should have high enough bandwidth to do what I want, right?
Thanks again, ya'll

Yah, read those other threads, the correct adapter is mentioned as well as a few not to get.
You might try PMing the poster that just purchased 2 adapters and see how he is getting along with them.
