L.A. Noire Official 3D Vision thread
  1 / 12
Hi All,

The game is launching today (November 8) and I wanted to provide as much infomration as I can.

First here is a 3DVisionLive.com gallery of the game. It looks quite amazing in 3D: http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/3DVisionGames/album/4eb9517e378501a217000068/

Second, the 285.62 driver does not have the correct EXE name checked into it for the game. We are releasing a driver later this week to address this and other problems.

In the meantime, if you want to creae your own profile to match our driver settings, here are our steps you can follow to set up your profile now before the new driver comes out:

Browse to NVIDIA Control Panel > Set up stereoscopic 3D

Click "Set Keyboard Shortcuts"

Click arrow to "Show advanced in-game settings" and click checkbox to "Enable advaned in-game settings". Remember your hotkeys.

Start L.A. Noire

Change the default convergence up or down (doesn't matter) and then press the button to save the Save in-game settings and make sure you see the green text on screen.

Quit L.A. Noire.

Open regedit

Browse to these locations

Windows 32-bit browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D\GameConfigs

Windows 64-bit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D\GameConfigs

Check to see if there is an Entry for "LANoire

In the LANoire folder, create the following registry entries

D-word (32-bit), StereoConvergence=3eac4a51

D-word (32-bit), StereoTextureEnable=00000023

D-word (32-bit), StereoCutoff=00000001

Re-launch L.A. Noire and you now are matching our 3DV profile. The in-game text still still say its not rated by NVIDIA, but dont worry about that.
Any questions? Please ask. Thanks.

A couple quick questions please. Is the convergence locked and are there any noticeable glitches with the 3D?

    Convergence is not locked.

I cannot find any problems with 3D, it looks great. You may want to play with convergence a bit since some scenes are a bit out of screen too much.

Overall though, this game looks wonderful in 3D!

Good to hear - thanks! This is the expensive part of the year but I don't mind going broke for a good 3D Vision game.

I dont think I saw a curser in the images. Is there one? If so is it 3D or removable? Either option is good.

    Thanks

Thanks Andrew! Good to know that Rockstar treat Stereo3D and PC serious. Especially when Max Pain 3 and GTAV are on the way !!!

Will driver`s update (mentioned by you for this week) change this .exe file as well?

I love Nvidia. Andrew, my brother, I dig you. but really? Come on. This is what it says on Steam:

    -Nvidia 3D Vision Support

It doesn't say: "It'll be cool on Steam in a few days, until then play Modern Warfare 3." Come on man! Really?

And yeah, I get the workaround. But why should I have to? It's a pain in my ass, and I already have a wife that is a SERIOUS pain in my ass. /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> (stop it!)

There are just SOOOOOOOOOOO many things that Nvidia could do to help itself in the arena of public opinion. Coordinate better. Please.

    Hi

I provided these steps since if I didnt, people would ask where is the profile.

The truth is the exe name changed and we are doing a driver release this week to fix it.

So you can follow my steps if you really want the fix, or just wait a few days.

    It's your choice.

The profile update isn't really necessary. It plays just fine in 3D without it. The convergence is locked but other than that no anomilies. I am more concerned about a SLI profile since at this point it does not support it.
I do agree (even though I now have learned to have patience with Nvidia) let's not advertise something if it is not ready. "3D vision in the future" would suffice.

played through this on the 360. Was very stoked to play this on the PC with 3DVision. It's worth it and actually doesn't seem to need a workaround. Playing on Steam and is very nice. for what it's worth....
