Bioshock 3D Vision DX11

Yep, I'd kick in donations to eqzitara if he'd take my money. But I'd also pay for this if the goal was to develop a community-driven patch that people like eqzitara could use to work on DX11 games. But I'm not interested in paying for a single patch for myself. I want to help the development so it can be released for everyone to enjoy instead.

You are right. This is my first IndieGoGo, and I just assumed it was the same as Kickstarter and included the earlier tiers. I expect we can work it out. I just want to play Infinite in 3D Vision! I'm willing to pay a premium. Why can't Irrational be rational?

Chiri messaged me prior to this and yes, I am donating. Its a step forward. If they can work out one game, maybe games will come easier. Maybe not, I really don't know too much of whats involved. LOL, don't compare me to Helix/Chiri. I am someone who knows the rudiments of shader code, not really a programmer like either of them. Him explaining how he is able to do this is just jibberish to me. I basically learned what I know from reverse engineering Helix's stuff. Admittedly I make good patches but I have no idea what's involved in something like this. I can honestly say though these shots are 100% legitmate if that's what your worried about. They are not tridef/ or made up, the hud makes it obvious to me[3D vision is the only renderer that does that]. TBH, this interests me mainly because he gets it to work much easier then I know how which could benefit us all in future. Like Bioshock infinite was busted as hell, even with shaders Id guess its like a 1000 shaders to fix... It would of been a nightmare. I have no idea if Helix is doing something with DX11 or not, I do not ask because its none of my business. BUT this is a completely different method then what Helix does to fix games, so two different methods theres nothing wrong with. Chiri is not a person in it for greed, he has made many tools that you've all used probably used. Convergence unlocker for games such as Metro Last Light, etc. Tool to get games to load in 3d tv play/3d vision.I am donating for what he has done, more then will do. Ive gotten a lot of game playthroughs using either of his tools. Not everyone can spend XXX/XXXX hours on this kind of stuff for free, people got to eat. Being a professional programmer is his living and if he doesn't get paid... well living gets tough. So either donate what you want to see Bioshock infinite in 3D but also keep in mind if you used his tools.
I won't contribute to this, as I have no interest in replaying Bioshock Infinite, and I don't want to pay on a per-patch basis. I want to donate to Helix too, if he would accept it. $10 per game is a tad high I must admit. Would you consider lowering it to a much more reasonable $5? Perhaps some sort of system where a graded premium can be paid beforehand... something like: $10 per patch Donate $25 = $5 per all current and future patches Donate $50 = $0 per all current and future patches. I want to support you guys, as I am sure the community does, but we don't want to dishonour Helix et al; nor do we want to pay too much towards something which we are helping support, which others make for free... there seem to be principles involved to a degree. Also, there has been no mention of performance figures... Will the patched games run at the same FPS as a non patched game in 3D vision? TL;DL: Cautious optimism.

I think if Chiri started the thread, and was possibly a bit more informative about it, then it may have gone a bit better ... hell, we didn't even get a goofy video begging for our cash! :) Even though I really don't like the 'Pay-Per-Play' model I might be more so inclined to chip in knowing it was someone who was already contributing to the community. Either way, I think it's going to need a hell of a lot more publicity to actually reach it's goal.

I donated to it as well. Obviously free stuff is better but I won't lie, a great game is worth paying $10 to me to get in flawless or near flawless 3D. I never got far in the game because I wasn't able to play with 3D Vision. On a related note, my most anticipated upcoming game is Witcher 3. We all know how great Witcher 2 was in 3D but I am nervous that the new one won't be 3D Vision ready. Who knows how much of their tweaking of the engine will break things in 3D. If I knew I could pay $10 to play that game in flawless 3D as opposed to without any 3D then that money is well spent IMHO.

There is now an option for "Patch + Donation", $25. Done and Done. I did notice something a little worrying however: "Please note that this is a Fixed Funding campaign. Your payment has been processed, but will refunded if the campaign doesn't reach its goal." I wish you guys reach your goal before the time expires. If you don't, all your donations will be returned. Are you sure you don't want to keep whatever donations you get? Everyone donating will be wanting you to keep them! Good luck fellas! -- Shahzad.

Interesting . . . Any chance SolutionGaming might be given a beta to test - we would love to put a video up on our site which would enable the entire community to see how your wrapper performs (even if still in beta) and might also help springboard your quest for funding. PM if interested SG has donated

I also donated and very excited to hear about an Nvidia 3D Vision 2 DX11 fix/patch. Out of the list of upcoming games announced for the next-gen PS4 and Xbox One, at least those known so far, a total of 37 are also slated to be included for the PC platform. Games such as: Batman: Arkham Origins; Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2; Dark Souls II; Mad Max; Mirror's Edge 2; Saints Row IV; Thief; Titanfall; Watch Dogs; Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to name just a few of those upcoming PC titles. I would hazard a guess at least a good portion of those games will probably be DX11 rendering. I'm very appreciative of all the hard work and dedication that Helix, eqzitara, Chiri and many others in this forum for making games enjoyable and playable in 3D that otherwise would not have been. Happy to make a contribution to support a cause that develops better 3D immersion. Good Luck to the team!

shrug* $25 is nothing considering how much I give nvidia and little they do. Chiri made me happy with RE5, RE Operation racoon, LA noire, Metro last light. If you got the money to spare I'd definetly do it, especially if you played Metro Last Light recently. The dev/nvidia got your money for out of the box compatibility, but he is a modder who actually tried to make it better in 3D. I cant think of any reason why I'd have a problem with that. Considering how often I see a "unhappy" post show up every time a DX11 game comes out without support. Its worth the chance imo. I mean A. He's already done alot for us. B. He has already done alot of the work [Look at screenshots] I've said long before Helix came around I'd gladly pay for 3D DLC but I knew developers wouldn't do it. Though I will pay for BI, I hope maybe this can evolve into some kind of membership plan. Regardless $10 or even $25 for that BI patch is a good deal to me imo. Bioshock Infinite: Seriously though, people think I am very picky [I am]. That's gorgeous, if its possible I'd like hud to be 2D[It may not be. I have no idea]. Regardless that's beautiful imo. Seriously I bought bioshock 1 way back when because of "3D Vision support"...... So basically I blew $50. Till mana84/helix patched it and by then it was $5 for BL1+2. 3D is a history of a bad beats for me in the cash department and he's got solid progress showing what he's done. I dont even think Tridef's patch looks that good now and certainly not in its earlier patches of it. That is seriously amazing since its his first patch and still in progress. I honestly thought DX11 would be alot of hurdles but seriously look at those shots. Thats an incomplete first DX11 patch of a game. I would of been very lucky to get it to that point on DX9 game [Shadows/lighting]. That doesnt mind blow anyone else? -------- P.S Helix is from Russia [I only know cause he mentioned it on X3]. Im from USA. Not sure how region got involved though lol.

You guys seriously complaining about 10.00? I would gladly pay that for any 3D game I was interested in. Sure I wish it were free, but give me a break. We've been spoiled by Helix and company for these past years but this is something that CAN SAVE 3D VISION!! Almost all games from now on are going to be DX11 due to the xbox one and PS4. So wither pay a measly 10.00 or chuck your 3D vision setup in the garbage when you play through your backlog of games. We are all crying about the future of 3D vision and this might be the solution. I'm paying and I'm not even gonna use the patch as I've already playing Bioshock with tridef, but hopefully if this succeeds more games will be worked on. PLEASE SUPPORT

great contribution guys! I hope it will open the way to further patches! and even if helix and patchers did a great job for free it does not mean that anyone can afford that...i'm sure a lot of people in 3d vision community are willing to pay a little extra to get proper support for their fav game.maybe next job will be easier because of this one so price could get cheaper ! anyway great job! I hope you reach your fundraising goal (to get the patch obviously!)

I just put 25.00 I hope you guys can give 25.00 as this will help stimulate future patches. Don't think of this as just a patch for Bioshock. This is a DX11 SOLUTION! How much would you pay for that? I tried asking Helix if he would setup a paypal donation page, but he's not interested. It's great that Helix does all this hard work for free but not everyone is gonna be able to do that. I don't mind giving money for someones hard work. Also, what if Helix gets bored of doing fixes? Maybe he moves on and loses interest in 3D vision. Then what? Helix never promised a solution for DX11 but if he somehow comes up with one I'd gladly give him money too. If you guys enjoy 3D gaming as much as me then you'll realize that 10 or 25 is really nothing.

Guys, please stop comparing this to Helix. Helix does his stuff for free (despite frequently being asked to make donations available) and that's really great. But you can't expect everyone to put in 100s of hours of work for free. The world just doesn't work like that, and things like that are generally not sustainable. A world where everything was done by hobbyists for free would be a world where we almost exclusively play crappy freeware webgames because Bioshock, Witcher, and Crysis don't exist. I just put in $70. I really want to see this get over the line. If only to show the devs and nvidia that 3Dvision can be a moneymaker. I hope you guys make it work for the upcoming DLC. btw, was kickstarter impossible for you guys for some reason? Kickstarter gets way more publicity.

I hope you guys make it work for the upcoming DLC. btw, was kickstarter impossible for you guys for some reason? Kickstarter gets way more publicity.
