Greetings!
I´m having some difficulty playing Metro 2033.
The native resolution for my PJ Acer 5630 BD to play in 3D is 1280x720 @ 60 hz.
Im not able to play @60 because the game forces it to @120 and there for not compatible for my PJ.
Ive trying forcing the refresh rate in nvidia control panel but it when the game starts it goes to 120 , then back to 60 on the desktop.
Im aware this is a game option but ive trying searcing steam and official forums and no luck.
Has anyone been able to play it using my PJ?
Or is there an option to force refresh rate in theis particular game.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
i have the exact same problem. i am using a 144hz DLP Beamer and over EDID it tell Windows that at a resolution of 1280x720 it supports 120hz. So Metro starts with 120hz and then i can not activate 3dvision because only 60hz are supported. I tried RivaTunter and NVidia Inspector to force 60hz but that doesn´t work. Editing the user.cfg and setting vsync on/off doesn´t make any difference.
Any ideas how i can start this game with 60hz ?

Hi,
I used to have this pj.
Maybe try to install teh h5360 edid instead then you should be able to have 120hz 720 3d, 'm pretty sure i used nvidia glasses for this though instead of the dlp glasses as its a 3dvision edid and not 3dtvplay.
If you have 3dvsion glasses you are good to go ;)
I honestly cant remember so your dlp glasses may work but i dno, it was along tme ago.
I tried a game that i cant remember the name but it was 3dvision ready and wuld'nt work with 3dtvplay, same issue as above so it des ndeed work with these games that force 120hz 3d.
Second post down ;)

Edit.
Tobe honest if i dont do somethng for more than a few months the info is lost in my brain, it may work it may not lol

Have you activated 3DTV Play?
I don't own the W1070 myself but I've read a ton about it (I'm thinking about buying it), but I've read it operates in 120hz for 60fps content, instead of 144hz which is for 24fps. I know people have successfully used the projector with 3DTV Play.

Changing the refreshrate at Windows desktop doesnt make any difference, doesnt matte if using 3dvision or tridef. The game looks at the maximum supported refresh rates per resolution and that ist 120hz @ 720p with this beamer.
3D Vision with this beamer only works with activated 3DTV Play. i have also read a ton of articles about the beamer. There are so many details you have to know about it. The Beamer always shuttered Content with 144hz, that has nothing to do with the selected refresh rate in windows or games. With 24p Movies you have an excelent 3D quality with this 144hz beamer, because there is absolutly no tearing, blurring, ghosting or anything else. The limitation wit 720p@60hz and 1080p@24hz comes with the 3DVision Driver and has to to with the HDMI Bandwith. So if a game starts with 720p@120hz, you cannot activate the 3DVision Driver. And until now i havent find a way to force a game starting with a refreshrate i like to.
For Bioshock Infinite, you'll need to look into Tridef. 3d vision doesn't work for it.
Got a Benq 1070 here , Bioshock Infinite works perfect
Without a Edid you get indeed a red message because it switches to 120HZ
Solution for me was
-Use custom resolution utility
_Export your Edid (backup)
-Import your Edid , remove all resolutions and keep only 1280x720 (60Hz)
-Export your changed Edid
-Now Import your customized edid (the one with only 1280x720 (60hz)
-Now go to the map of custom resolution utility and select (restart64)
Some more information:
I got my Benq 1070 hooked with HDMI and Iam using 3dTVplay.
I got a HP monitor connected with DVI
Once you removed all resolutions besides the 1280x720 (60HZ) , the red message wont appaer
DSR:
This one took a while to figure out.
I couldnt enable DSR to take the resolution to 1920x1080 / 2540x1620
Wat I find out was that i needed to do the following
*While running the projecter
* I needed to unhook my HP monitor
*Apply the custom EDID
*Do the restart of the displays (restart64)
After that I could finally select DSR
Kind regards

It's useful information that pertains to this thread, so why not?
Hopefully someone will see it, that does not know about it and save themselves the time that EnergyCorse wasted coming up with the same solution that has been posted in other threads and has been used for years by others.
There is no such thing as a necro on this sub-forums.
More people need to post in existing game threads, instead of starting their own "my game no worky thread"
