*Shrug* Guys can do whatever you want. Im not big on anyone spending money but do what you feel is right I guess. I'd rather you try to contact some PR at 2Kgames/Irrational first however.
I think you miss understand me eqzitara. I plan on spending a lot of time if necessary on this, but no money (at least not much). A campaign to raise 'money' can be about promotion, rather then a realistic outcome (such as ebay sales, when people sell there body for work). Its exposure, nothing more. My main attack will come through communication, and trying to communicate through the best channels possible to achieve the best effect.
I'm sure a few well written messages to key places will be critical to success. I also have friends in smaller game review sites (that have been featured by larger games advertisement campaigns) which I'm sure would jump at the chance to write up something interesting on such a development. Stuff like that has a habit of floating up to the larger websites before to long.

Nvidia sends a 3d display to "sponsored" game developers who they or at least did at the time.

Probably a nvidia 3D vision 1 monitor (24 inch?) which is collecting dust somewhere at the desk of a secretary.
Contacting them first is maybe not a good idea imho. Takes a way the suprise and also give them the oppertunity to refuse.
An action like this is wat some company did when they send an expensive phone to Cliffy B. with one number on it. But it helped that the company who sent the phone was rather big.
ps: can someone tell how much a Asus VG278H costs in the USA?

Well I personally won't vest in it financially [time is worth more to me anyways]. Just wait till Helix releases a final build, he says his peace on this. Then let me know a week ahead and I will start looking into recording the formats. Which I was planning to do regardless.
@schmeltzer
$450-$500. Was $450 on amazon a week ago(?) I recommended it to someone but its currently out of stock from them amd sold via third party.

Don't worry, it will be targeted. Everything should coincide within a short time frame, one week at most, so that the buzz around it pings up on google. But the more prongs to the attack the better.
- OR demo (patch sent to closest contact to Ken Levine possible, or directly if achievable).
- Spoof/Joke (real if necessary) fundraiser for 3D system.
- review sites and tech sites stories (i can almost guarantee a good selection of lower level review sites, will speak to friends tomorrow).
- ig forum contact via quick deployment, thread with all info, pics and links (with as much support and comments from people on here as possible, please get your 2K accounts active if you want to help).
Then if all goes well, I will contact the UK national press with the outcome. Who knows.
Anyone else can help, chime in!

I wish more was known about Nvidia's involvement, past and present.
I really don't think that Nvidia ever did very much, most of the burden was placed on the game developers I thought.
I remember with Assassin's Creed Revalations, 3D Vision users were encouraged to report problems to Ubisoft.

Nvidia hands them a display / paycheck / good manual and says figure it out. TBH, the manuals/nvapi are amazing. I actually think the 3D vision as a software is amazing, just severely dated [I really think there havent been many changes since creation besides things like passive/checkerboard. Resources went into stupid directions but never wound where it should].
Quality control as far as NVIDIA is non-existent. They made it seem like a pay day, so developers treated it as such.
Anywho went off topic enough with this [I am a talker]. Should probably do this in a diff. topic. Im sure helix doesnt want to shuffle through this.
@schmeltzer
Enthusiasm is one thing but do not take it on yourself to pay for it all by yourself. That serves no gain. Tbh, Im optimistic about results of this idea. Which is why I plan to do videos but still... optimistic.

Pretty much agree with prior points. ForeverSeeking, if you still like the idea in the new day, make a new thread to do further talk. Great idea by the way, I've thought for a long time that we need some sort of evangelist to show good quality to people. Pretty sure I'm going to try to talk MaximumPC into letting me visit their offices with my projector in tow, to give an example of how good it can be (sister magazine of Rift, SF based).
Pretty much, we can guarantee no one will see these threads. We just did this campaign with low traction on people who care. People who don't care or are actually haters will never find it- with one caveat, we need to not use real names. Let's call him BigK so that google searches don't show up.
It seems like setting up a campaign to 'buy' a monitor to send would be good, because it's all about the publicity. People at BigK's level are almost always inundated with requests and PR, and spin, and people trying to get their attention. To break through their protective shield requires something unique.
Here's a good example of that sort of thing, which is what made me think of ViewMaster.
http://youtu.be/Xg1pzEF3HTw
My only concern with just a monitor is that we all know that the computer matters almost as much. If it's misconfigured, the experience will backfire. Setting it up is not hard if you are motivated, but these people are the opposite of motivated. A monitor is one thing, but a gaming laptop is getting borderline madcap.
The Oculus video is good regardless, and he might get a chance to see it. I'll take a look with the high-convergence and let you know.
I have one more idea to throw into the new thread.

mostly looks good, but sometimes it seems to be a matter of chance? see the first two screenshots, 1st one, the renering is wrong (the cog and the "please wait" thing), but 2nd one it's normal -- I restarted the game (not just loaded the last checkpoint). I tried started the game serveral times, sometimes it's rendered correctly, sometimes it isn't~ don't know whether this issue is 3D Surround specific or not~
the last three screenshots I bumped up the convergence, simply amazing, but for screenshot and sightseeing purpose only, since anything near the front (inclduing hands and guns) will be totally out of screen and in separated images.

One thing I noticed. And this probably will interest Helix more than others but:
- If I am using the first WIP he released I never saw the issue with things loading incorrectly,
- If I am using the 2nd WIP he released, sometimes I get some shaders rendering wrong.
No this is not specific to 3D Surround. It affects 3D on either single or multiple displays..

The fix updated.
Link
Unpack it where BioShockInfinite.exe located (delete old files and ShaderOverride folder if you use previous version).
1. fixed broken effect by HUD fix.
2. crosshair dynamic 3D.
3. water reflections.
4. fixed bug with shades when some objects become 2D. if this still happens(but i think it should not), you can use a hotkey F10 to reload shaders.
Know issues:
1. SSAO (ambient occlusion) should be on NORMAL or below.
2. distant lights cutoff.
3. some reflections can be 2D.
4. water reflections cuts at right corner.
All minor issues should be fixed by now.

I tried started the game serveral times, sometimes it's rendered correctly, sometimes it isn't~ don't know whether this issue is 3D Surround specific or not~
the last three screenshots I bumped up the convergence, simply amazing, but for screenshot and sightseeing purpose only, since anything near the front (inclduing hands and guns) will be totally out of screen and in separated images.
epenny size =/= nerdiness
One thing I noticed. And this probably will interest Helix more than others but:
- If I am using the first WIP he released I never saw the issue with things loading incorrectly,
- If I am using the 2nd WIP he released, sometimes I get some shaders rendering wrong.
No this is not specific to 3D Surround. It affects 3D on either single or multiple displays..
