My machine used to do this when I had two monitors attached, one 3D ready and the other not.
Just having a single 3D monitor connected ideally already in 120Hz mode usually fixes it. Once you've gotten through the activation piece you can plug the other monitor back in.
The other work around I've used is to kill the process using Task manager when the error is displayed. It appears to enable 3D then disable it when you exit the app, killing the process prevents the latter.

Thanks for the info ERP. Yeah i had a feeling that not having all 3 monitors on durring the 3D drivers install may fix the prob since the other monitors (at the time of the first boot after installing the graphics drivers) are not setup yet for surround vision. So what i did was just not let the wizard install the 3d drivers apon the first boot after the graphic driver install. Was easy since windows needed permision to allow the install to run, so i hit no.
Then i setup the 3 monitors correctly and the correct res and then launched the 3d software install from the downloaded cd. It made it through but i still had probs getting anything other then the default Nvidia 3D demo to run. Any other test in the control panel would do the same split secound on and then off.
Anyways.. i'm in buisness! I was like so "get the F out" when i looked threw the setup menu for Batman and seen there was an option to turn on 3D vision! Doh! I hit that and launched the game totally excited and see some super huge red bar on the bottom of the screen that went across all 3 screens so it was hard to read.. said some settings had to be turned down to play it right in 3D.. should of mentioned one important setting cause batman looked like crap! The picture was super shacky the whole -synctime. So no 3D. Then i went back into the setup menu for batman and turned off v-sync and bamb! Awesome delicious 3D! :) :) Damn is it insaine! Worth the crazy 5k price to play 3D gaming! hehe. WAY batter then i ever expected.. never seen a demo of 3D before.
Cant wait to show it to my wife and daughter (5 years old). The little one has been dying to see the 3D! hehe. Bugging me the past 2 days on and off since i've been messing with it trying to get it installed. I hope now my wife will understand why i wanted to get back into PC gaming when i seen a video of 2D/3D surround vision on youtube! :)
Happy for now.. but not looking forward to installing that again in the near future.
Thanks for the help guys!
Quick question though.. since batman is a 3D ready title and i had to turn on 3d in the menu of the game.. how does one get 3D working for other non 3D ready games??

Welp, i've figured out why the other test demos and the 3D pictures were not working. I have to only have a single monitor i guess. I turned off the other 2 monitors and reverted back to a single monitor with SLI. Then changed the rez to 1920x1080. Then i tested it out and they worked. That kinda is stupid and nvidia should of put some kind of notice that those 3d demos will not work in surround mode.

Well i've installed Battlefield Bad Company 2 and i had a hell of a time getting 3D to start on that one as well.. After about 4 restarts it finally just started.
Sucks that its way too turtle at 3D surround using a rug runing 480GTX SLI and a 3.6Ghz i7 930. 2D is fine though. Gona need to find some settings to turn down to get that working good as it was the main game i wanted to run on the new rig.

Sucks that its way too turtle at 3D surround using a rug runing 480GTX SLI and a 3.6Ghz i7 930. 2D is fine though. Gona need to find some settings to turn down to get that working good as it was the main game i wanted to run on the new rig.
