1st 1080P 3D READYLCD MONITOR IS HERE! Alienware (Dell) Strikes first $649.00 - OUCH!
5 / 7
Played more on the Alien AW2310 last night. Still working flawlessly on 1.18 drivers.
There is ghosting in white skies but it's really not even noticeable or a distraction. It's still a god send compared to the samsung. Now for last night....
Played
Left 4 Dead - Always an impressive game but the pop out effects weren't impressive at all with the AW2310
Avatar - AMAZING... Simply amazing. If you have this monitor...buy this game.
Trackmania - It works and looks great. There's ghosting in the white sky but its very thin/faint. If your racing it's not even enough to be a distraction.
Shadowrun - Flawless...if you have this monitor buy this game. (response time is shocking)
Serious Sam II - Very little ghosting in the sky sometimes...Looks amazing with this monitor. I still standby you haven't seen 3D gaming until you have played Serious Sam II. Especially on the DLP.
I play all my games 100% depth and I play with the convergence. Scale of 1 to 10...10 being the highest I'd say my convergence for all games is up around 3-4. /sorcerer.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sorcerer:' />

Welp, I just placed my order based on the recommendations here. Ya'll should ask Dell for a commission :) I used a generic 10% coupon code I found by searching for "Dell coupon code" The fact that Nvidia is likely to keep this monitor working and supported is a big part of the reason I'm going with it. I wonder if the reason a number of 3D ready monitors have been perpetually problematic is their fault or Nvidia's..

Got it figured out now, Andrew, thank you! Playing on my own monitor now, rather than my roommates. And it is NICE. Guess I had a bad Dual Link DVI cable, used the one off my old 30" monitor, and everything is now FINE! It's always something minor and easy to miss.

Hi all, new here and ready to take the plunge. I've been out of the pc gaming loop for years and just found out about 3d vision recently.
I bought a new computer just over a year ago with the intent to install a graphics card and catch up on all the great games I've been missing out on (Core2Duo E2200 @ 2.2 Ghz w/ 4 GB of DDR2 RAM). I just swapped out the processor with a Core2Quad Q9650 @ 3 Ghz and installed a BFG GTX 285 OCX card.
ordered the AW2310 + 3d vision kit and it's currently scheduled to arrive on the 28th. very excited to see it in action despite the reports of persistent ghosting issues- it seems that most who have used both the 2233RZ and this monitor consider it to be an improvement. in any case it's the best 3d capable monitor currently available, and I can't afford to drop any more money into this now considering all of the above! but it might be nice to upgrade to a 1080p projector down the line. I'm also interested to see if the 27" ASUS monitor materializes, but can't wait another 4 or 5 months to find out since they didn't release the 24" last year.
and the best part: I've never played any of these games!! planning to start with Bioshock, RE5, Dragon Age and go from there. I was impressed by the graphic quality of these in 2D alone, can't wait for 3d vision!

I received mine today. I will let you know how the ghosting is once the driver page is put back online so I can install the drivers. :)

No problem. :) I will immediately put up a small review once they get the driver page working lol. :) One thing I can say now is that the banner on the top of the page here is the purest black that I have ever seen on an LCD monitor. It is amazing! I don't know if it is my settings or this monitor is just great at what it does. Also, moving windows around when it is set on 120 hz is absolutely smooth as silk! It is almost surreal in how smooth they move! :) I wouldn't trade this monitor for anything! The only other place that I have ever seen things move so smooth is on my friend's bravia tv!

I don't see any little horizontal lines on mine at all, but the monitor was designed with a matte finish on the screen. It is done that way to prevent reflections.

winlonghorn congrats on new monitor. can you tell me if there is any backlight bleeding coming through the top and bottom edges when on a pure black screen?

If you mean very bright white light on the very edge of the monitor, then so far nothing like that at all. Thank you for the congratulations btw. :)

Got it figured out now, Andrew, thank you! Playing on my own monitor now, rather than my roommates. And it is NICE. Guess I had a bad Dual Link DVI cable, used the one off my old 30" monitor, and everything is now FINE! It's always something minor and easy to miss.

I won't be able to until I get home tonight.
New Game Update on the Alien. Street Fighter IV is AWESOME! Not very much popout effect, but the game looks fantastic.

If you mean very bright white light on the very edge of the monitor, then so far nothing like that at all. Thank you for the congratulations btw. :)
