Issue with activating 3d emitter
Hi. Hoping to get some insights regarding the issue I have with 3d emitter. It started when I switched to win10 and I have it on 3 different rigs. The problem I have is with activating 3d mode. When it gets activated, the screen "freezes" until I unplug my emitter. Then I plug it back in and often it freezes again. I have to unplug/plug it in multiple times before it starts working properly. And then once emitter goes to sleep, I have to repeat the same procedure. It takes on average about 10 plug/unplug attempts to activate 3d mode for me. Does anyone else having the same?

I haven't used my 3d vision for a while and I've started having problems which I noticed yesterday. It might have been since my last driver update and windows 10 feature update, not sure. Windows 10 keeps setting the emitter to 'sleep' mode. If you go into device manager and scan for hardware changes, it will wake up again straight away but I can't seem to stop it going to sleep. I've done the obvious such as edit power plan settings and changed the USB settings in device manager as well. Those settings seem to be either ignored anyway or at least revert back to default after a reboot. I've just tried creating a custom power plan and will try again.

@rustyk21 In Device Manager go to Universal Serial Bus Controllers Right click on all USB Hubs devices and go to the Power Management tab and uncheck allow the computer to turn off device to save power. After the changes Reboot the computer.

@zig11727 That's exactly what I did last night. Well, I ordered the devices by connection and did that for everything from the emitter upwards rather than doing it for every single hub. When I looked today, the setting had reverted but I just created a custom power plan, did it all again and that seems to have worked in terms of the setting 'sticking' but still having an issue. I just sat and watched, the emitter flashed bright green a few times then it just went to sleep again.. Maybe I'll try the power settings for all hubs and see if that works.

Check this: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/933298/3d-vision/random-bsod-nvstusb-sys-and-reboot-when-3d-vision-usb-controller-is-plugged-and-enabled/post/5126659/#5126659
yeah, I added script as described, but it didn't persist. I need to run it every time I reboot PC. Anyway, it doesn't solve the issue with entering 3d mode.

So you tried the emitter on 3 different systems ? Assuming you've tried different USB ports I would guess it's some software causing your system to freeze... maybe an antivirus since those usually hook into USB ports. Sorry but I haven't seen anything similar on these forums so maybe it's something on your system or a faulty emitter or cable.

So it has never worked correctly on Windows 10 on 3 different PCs since moving from W7. Are you using appropriate drivers from the motherboard manufacturer? What version/build of W10 are you on? Also doesn't that 3D box need to be checked? Are you checking it? https://imgur.com/gLA0HM2 I've read posters saying that they needed to do fresh installs of W10 when 3D was borked/not working

this box is checked. And I don't think its software issue cuz I observed it on fresh windows install as well. I'm starting to think something is wrong with my emitter
