i have LCD shutter glasses and a 19" CRT monitor. the 3d effect looks cool, the only thing i dont like is ghosting.

i have take some screenshot in games and edit them. On my system i have nearly no ghosting on this screenshots :D :D :D

nvidias programmer should spend some hours to progamm a shader or somthing witch removes gosting in games!

i cant explaint it so good but i have made some pictures:

Hi Scarab,

I have the same frustration regarding ghosting. I think some people have tried to fix it, but don't know if anything satisfactory has been found with shutterglasses. Please speak up, anyone who does know!

I have pre-ordered the IZ3D monitor which I hope and expect will get rid of ghosting (reviews say it does). It makes sense that it would as long as the polarization of pixels and polarized glasses do their job properly. I am going to demo it in April, it comes out around May. Of course, that is more expensive, but I am willing and able to pay more for a better overall solution.

That doesn't really help you, of course, unless you are interested in considering spending more money for better solutions.

I'm interested to hear if anyone else has a fix for this with the lcd shutterglasses as well, sorry I couldn't help you!

:( i dont have money for an IZ3D monitor :'(

did some nVidia programmers read topics in this forum regularly?
or can we contact them?

are nVidia not intrested in making 3d stereo popular?
with such a shader you can get a nearly perfect 3d sollution for very little money.
everyone want 3d sound and pays a lot of money for it and on one wants 3d graphic?
i dont think so!

/thumbsdown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ATI dont realy support 3d stereo, nVidia can earn a lot of money if they spend a few hours in programming such a f***ing shader.

it works so good on screenshots /w00t.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':w00t:' />

[Sorry, Double Post] If we're talking about the same ghosting, I believe the problem does not result from the software, but from the inability of the monitor to instantaneously turn on and turn off pixels, as well as the inability of the lcd shutter glasses to instantaneously turn off and on the lcd's to blank out each eye.

the problem does not result from the software but you can remove it with software.
i have test it.
i have edit a screenshot and made an "anti-ghost-effect" and if i watch the screenshot in 3d, i have nearly no ghosting.

I understand what you are doing but it will only slightly work with an LCD onitor. On a CRT, it wont have a significant effect :(

No matter what you do, if one frame is bright and the next frame is even completely black, the white frame will take some time to dissapear as the phospher in the screen decays.

I remember someone suggesting a very long time ago, that a black frame or 2 between each picture frame would help. It would infact help quite significantly.

Left eye frame >> black frame >> black frame >> right eye frame >> black frame >> black frame >> Left eye frame...

Ofcourse it would mean a much reduced FPS, but if you have a high enough refresh rate, it shouldnt be a big problem :P

i have upload an edited screenshot. it is from couterstike source and on my 19" CRT i have 90% less ghosting!

may it dont work so good on you system. if you have less ghosting then i have the anti-ghost effect is may to intense.
the jps screenshot is also compressed so that the picture seems a bit unsharp.

It is understandable, thank you.

I would love to test the pics, but unfortunately, I have a 8800 and stereo is not supported on this card yet(!?).

It will be interesting of someone could test it and post results. Maybe I'm undertanding wrong what you are doing :)

Rage!

What have you done, man!

You got an 8800 before the stereo drivers have come out?!?!?!?

I'd be going nuts if I was in your shoes.

Do you have a duel card setup that you can use?

Chopper :magic:

I know chopper, but my hand was kinda forced.

My bro built a new computer and he didnt have enough for a PCIE card so I decided to buy an 8800 early and loan my 7600 to him till he can get his own pcie card.

Ofcourse i can still get the card any time i want, but i cant bring myself to ask him, hes having a ball with his new setup.

Dual setup would be great, but iv recently put a pcie scsi raid card in the other slot.

Som unless some spectacular stereo games comes out that needs me putting my 7600 back in, im stuck with no stereo till there is a propper driver for it :(

I'm gutted, I assure you.

lets get back to topic now.

i can make a tutorial about remove ghosting in screenshots if someone want.
