Lots of changes in Legion, some look pretty decent. Still I'm not sure if it's worth going back to the grind and giving Blizzard/Activision my money.

People are still playing this game???
The LORE and setting is awesome... but the game .... is crap and always was crap. I played it since release for about 6 years until I stopped.
They should have killed Wow years ago and focus on sequel games. I still think Warcraft would we AWESOME if they make it into an RPG series without the damn grind & crap that made it into the MMO... I'd rather play the WHOLE Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Witcher series 10 times over than leveling one character into Wow from level 1 any time... (not to mention the old content is pretty much dead as no one "does" it anymore... )
Anywho, I don't think the devs will do anything for 3D Vision... although if you guys ask politely they might go and fix things back;) It just needs a push from community;)

The game isn't crap, It has some really great game mechanics and awesome Boss encounters that are truly enjoyable.
The crafting and questing sucks.
But what I always enjoyed was the PVP, I've had sooo much stupid fun in this game. Soo many tee hee hee, pee my pants moments from laughing so hard.
Unfortunately bots and cheaters ruined the experience in Warlords.
And looking at the PVP changes in Legion, it doesn't look very good for solo casual PVPers.
As an old school EQ player I just could never get into this game. They stole all the ideas from its precursor and made it extraordinarily simple for the masses.
I tried to give it another shot recently cause of the 3d support but it seems like this is slipping away as well. Seemed like the most optimal way to play while leveling is just dungeon queue. So whats the point of this huge world they have crafted?

Well maybe "crap" is the wrong word.
A lot of aspects of the game aren't properly developed, like questing. Some quests are awesome yet you really need to concentrate on a quest chain alone to understand what is happening and even then the story is more of a hint then a properly fledged one.
I don't know the latest expansions, but story-lines were so inconsistent at times you almost forgot there was a story behind what you were doing (except the obvious which was kill 10 that, collect 20 of that). That's why I said they should have stopped it a while ago and instead make CO-OP RPGs with a solid storyline behind :)
PVP was fun a long time ago (original WoW with proper ranks and Alterac Valley where one battle could have lasted even 24h ^_^) After that, I felt the PVP failing more and more into obscurity without any reason to continue doing it...
I stopped playing after Cataclysm so don't know the current state, but it left a sour taste at the time and that's why I stopped (casual player).

I've played WoW since launch, but dropped it for good when they came up with that pandaria nonsense.
Looking back, I probably would've lost interest right after vanilla, if pvp wasn't so much fun.
Basically, the only way Acti-blizz could ever grab my attention/money again, is with a dedicated vanilla server.

The great thing about vanilla was that a skilled level 50 could take down a 60.
Now a under-geared 100 can't touch a semi geared 100. It's all about gear and less about skill in PVP, unless your are doing arena or ranked BGs. But even then, with all the 3rd party apps that cast countermeasures the second a spell is cast or bypasses global cool downs, skill is often worthless.
Blizzard lost a lot of subscriptions due to rampant/flagrant cheaters. It's good to see them pro-active in Overwatch, but I doubt that it will last. Unfortunately, it seems that they could care less about WoW.

I fondly remember all those ganking rogues, who always expected me to be a frost-specced mage, because one really had to be for MC/BWL. So the most fun part was surprising them with a scorch/POM-pyro/blastwave based instant damage build >:)

You invested 6 years of your life into the game that you consider a crap? Weird.
Imho WoW is awesome and in Legion will be better then ever. Features of new expansions are great and content is top notch. Also disagree about Pandaria. One of my most favourite expansions. But I love eastern settings.

I played vanilla and cant see how a 50 level could kill any of my 60s. Maybe if 50 was a pro player while 60 was a total noobie in crap green gear. Level difference would make 50 miss most of his abilities.

Whatever, a 50 could kill a 60 back then and no he didn't miss that much. And of course I'm not referring to a geared 60.
The thing is now it's Gear>Skill in PVP. The new approach in Legion is horrible imho, but time will tell.
Millions of people played WoW at the start and the number has steadily dropped each expansion because WoW is shit compared to what it could be. It's not a crappy game, but it is by no means a great game. Dungeon encounters are the only thing fun anymore.
What are they at now, 2 million players? I hope Legion turns things around, but I'm doubtful.

IF you are 50 caster you will miss about 50% of your spells on 60.
The thing is now it's Gear>Skill in PVP. The new approach in Legion is horrible imho, but time will tell.
Well, not really.
They revamped PvP system in Legion and in instanced PvP your gear almost doesnt matter since everyone has same template scaled from item level. The difference in power between just leveled 110 in garbage gear and raider in best gear possible will be no more then 10%.
While in any expansion prior Legion it could be up to 200%.
So you can say its the first time in WoW's history gear doesnt matter much in Battlegrounds and Arenas, and its up to skill.

WoW is old game and there are hundreds of new MMOs coming all the time. Every single MMORPG on market had its playerbase decrease after some time. In my opinion Legion makes WoW better then ever, and definetly better then vanilla lol.

Yes. is a bad game overall by design. One that emphasises on GRIND for gear above all else. If this is not a CRAPPY design, don't know what is... First grind for gear. Second grind more for better gear. So, let's say it takes you X hours to get to max level. To get gear to even start one raid you need another 2*X time.
In order to keep the players around for more, why give actual game content when Blizz can make the progression path SLOOWER. Isn't this crap?
Take Witcher 3 for example. Imagine if instead of going to each location to get a schematic you are forced to do a 2h dungeon in a group. You ROLL for the schematic. THEN you need some exotic materials that will take you another 6 hours to gather. Now multiply this by 5 for a full SET. How many hours do you need to get ONE gear set ? Now compare it to how Witcher 3 implemented it. Why? Because the GAME CONTENT is there. They didn't need to make the game last longer by slowing down the progression.
Anyway, on most of the Raids I loved how scripted and unique are. I would gladly play the game again IF they would value SKILL and teamwork MORE than gear. Give the SAME gear to all classes. EXACT same stats and put the accent on co-operation (kinda like Guild Wars 1 did).
Then WoW would be awesome with it's lore and settings;)
I've played the game over 6 years as a time spawn. This doesn't mean I've played it 6 years straight. Maybe that is what confused you.
I don't want to argue over a game with anyone... It's silly and stupid. I get it that you like it! It's a nice game that gets you hooked easily. It takes some time though to realise how "empty" it is though...
Anyway, this is my opinion on this matter and I'll appreciate if you accept it:)

With Legion that whole artifact thing is stupid for casual players.
Also PVE Weenies should stay out of battlegrounds or learn what objectives are and stop being carried.
