its a sad thing. In my town bd renting ends by the end of the year and 3d release i had to buy For a long time now. Allthough would not even want to watch 3d from anywhere else that from disc. Those streams Are crap untill its possible to send full 40Mb stream originally in the disc. I also disslike spotify. Its crap. Its lossy and Dynamicly dull shit. People make desicions like this because they Are lazy. And i think all steaming services should be boicotted just because The Simple fact you Are paying to a operator not the instance is responsible for the entertainment!

Not really surprised with movies, I have yet to see a movies that's really wow'd me in 3D. It's the one 3d tech the mass market has experienced and I can see what it's never taken off there. It doesn't help most of them are just gimmicks and not even using real 3D Games are a completely different story, it's not even comparable.

Yes saddly the conversions Are long way from best case scenario. But i would still watch any movie rather 3d then 2D. The word "gimicky" when talking 3d is kind funny as i don't but i don't find anything gimicky when comparin normal view through couple of eyeballs compared to stereo presented with continous independent streams to both eyes. In real life you can see the exactly same efects and errors than with 3d movies with glasses. Yes there isnt head tracking but tell me what kind movie is where you constantly move your head !

IMAX made decision based on the facts, people dont seem to want 3d for their movies. I agree with them, i felt 3d added basically nothing for movies. I opted for 2D movies 2 times in a row this past week. And I think 3D's pretty neato as some of you know :D They were both 2D conversions and in both cases the option for 3D was there, I just wanted the extra brightness and clarity mainly.

I love 3D, but I recognize it has big problems: - Movies: fake 3D everywhere, nothing compared to 3D gaming. - Games: much better experience, but you need to spend A LOT of money in hardware to play decently, and most PC players in the world don't have the cash or the desire to invest so much. - Glasses: not a problem for some people, but a big con for many other, specially if you usually play with people around you. It is not only the weird aspect of your face, it is also that wearing these glasses make you stay appart from other people, isolated. And you can not do many other things at the same time.

I prefer movies filmed in 3D with good depth and convergence of course, but I would even take a poorly 3D-converted movie over its regular 2D version any day. Remember the 2D to 3D conversion feature in some players and TVs? Compared to that even the worst converted to 3D movies are perfect.

Look on the bright side. If these 3D movies and fake 3DTVs would completely disappear then this tech would only be available for gaming mostly, and who other than nVidia controls the 3D gaming market. Unfortunately nVidia is probably focusing more on VR and its future but unless VR/AR gets better in terms of quality and support without the price skyrocketing, maybe... maybe more people would be interested in 3D gaming and the only Real3D tech worth purchasing. And let's be honest, it is not that expensive to get an nVidia 3DV kit and a cheap 3D Vision monitor. I still remember the days of Left4Dead and F.E.A.R. on 8800 gtx so no, you don't need a powerful system to appreciate Real3D. Plus, 3DV monitors have 120-144hz which is another nice feature ;]

The day before I read another one on this subject by a guy who was very happy that 3Dmovies are finally dead. It was exactly the same with 3DTV's. For some reason many people felt accomplished that 3D and the funny glasses are finally gone

This is where the 3d industry would need to evolve. Im enjoying my setup but its far from what people wanna "invest" into 3d gaming or even i myself would have wanted to put it. Im merely sunked into this Deep pleasure quicksand called dual projection.

I guess you mostly mean this paragraph:
Have you ever gone to the cinema only to find the movie you want to see is only available in 3D? And, not wanting to wait around for the next non-3D showing, you succumb, pay the extra money it costs for a 3D ticket, and don the plastic frames? That inconvenience could soon be over.
Thats not exactly provocative in my opinion and that is the "worst part". Its pretty neutral otherwise. I can relate to that actually. I did find glasses to be inconvenience. Payoff was worth it for the 3d gaming but not for the movies.
