Thanks mate, but this drivers is a stand alone one, it doesn't come with the 3D Vision drivers, it's just the Graphics cards drivers, right? If so, does it work with the 3D Vision drivers from 260.63 or it's USB controllers drivers? I know that sometimes drivers don't match, if they're somehow different, like GFX 260.89 and 3D Vision drivers 260.63???

So, you have a Samsung 3D Plasma, right? So, you can adjust convergence and depth in the Nvidia flying logo test, but you can't during games? I didn''t understand this quite well, or you can't change settings such as depth and convergence in control panel but you can using keyboard hotkeys such as Ctrl + F5, Crtl + F4, while gaming in 3D?

Weren't you also unable to try 3DTV Play with the older beta drivers 260.63 using your Sammy Plasma TV? Just now with these new 260.89 you were able to try it out?

I guess Nvidia will only release the official WHQL driver, once all 3D TV's are fully compatible. Let's hope so.

Just let me know how did you install these new drivers. Did you just installed it over the older ones, did you have to reinstall the 3D Vision drivers?

Nobody told me if I must uninstall Nvidia graphics and 3D Vision drivers before installing the Tridef drivers, or they work together, I mean I can choose which drivers will load a game and stuff like that???? I really don't want to keep uninstalling and reinstalling Nvidia drivers to try out these Tridef drivers, big pain in the ass. I play a lot of games that require Nvidia drivers, physx and stuff like that.

Have a good one!!!!!

I think 3dtv play is intended to support 3D framepacked mode, that i imagine will be the "pure" mode for 3d.
Andrewf ...so geforce 8800 series (3d vision "ready") are not supported by 3dtv play??
Give us a final world plz!

I also tried the IZ3D driver to and found it be quite good but I have not tried the Nvidia 3D vision or the 3DTV play software. if some one has tried the both of them and can let me know what's the key differentses between the both in preformance, visual quality and value for money? That would be great.

Now i have installed the 260.63 drivers and its the same,3dtvplay works with my Fullhd plasma C6970 ,and here the same,i cannot adjust any 3d setting in the game, with that nvidia logo i can adjust convergence and seperation.
ctrl+f4,f5 dont works for me in games and in the control panel it was fixed by 15% depth and is not adjustable.
I hope they fix it soon.
I have allways installed driver over the other, not new clean install iss needed,i have win7 32bit.

I've installed the 260.89 beta drivers but still no 3DTV Play for me. At least now bluray3D playback works for me using PowerDVD 10 mark II 2213, with former 260.63 beta drivers, it didn't.
Son I guess it's an improvemnt. I think they will figure out a way, I just hope it doesn't take to long. I bought this TV with 3DTV Play in mind, not just bluray3D.

I can also control convergence and depth in the Nvidia flying logo test, and If I try to run the setup wizard, it seems my 3D display and the setup goes fine in 3D, but at the end of it, it just tells me that I'm now ready to watch 3D videos in my TV, but that I need to upgrade to 3DTV Play. If I set my resolution to 720p 3D and set the game to the same resolution, my TV goes into 3D mode, glasses syncs, but game starts in 2D.

Waiting, and waiting.....................

Actually all three stereo drivers (nVidia/iZ3D/TriDef) can be installed at the sane time and co-exist with no problem. It's though a good idea to activate only one at a time, or you get quadruple-view /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

- nVidias 3D driver can be set to off on game start in the control panel (Ctrl-T nomally switches it on and off)
- iZ3D driver can be switched off through the Windows tray icon of the iZ3D control panel
- TriDef 3D driver is only activated if the game is started through the TriDef lauch panel

Nobsi,

Thanks for the help mate!!!
I've just installed the 14 day trial for Tridef 3D drivers.
I've realized that it's not like Nvidia drivers cause it doesn't work for all games, I've tried Just Cause 2 and it didn't work for this game. Got the message that this game doesn't support 3DDX9, something like that.

I've tried Left 4 Dead 2 and it looked a lot worse than it looks with 3D Vision drivers, weird and dark somehow, didn't like. The hotkeys to control depth and convergence are very complicated combinations of keys and a hassle to adjust, Alt + Shift + ] WTF??? At least I found a way to customized those hotckeys in Tridef menu and make it easier to adjust.

The 2 games that I tried Tridef and liked was GTA IV Episodes and Mafia 2, but I cound't control depth in Mafia 2, not that I could tell a difference, I only noticed pop out, convergence increase and decrease, but the depth was always a little flat to me, no matter how much I tried to increase it.
GTA IV episodes was deffinatelly the best one, good convergence and I also could adjust the depth to make the game look really good in 3D.

But now it comes the million dollar question, Why games in 3D are so freaking slow with Tridef, it's unplayable at 1920 x 1080? GTA IV at 1920 x 1080 I would get 9 to 13FPS the most and at 1280 x 720, only 20 to 35fps. Very slow, for just 720p. I have SLI GTX 480, so I don't get this? I haven't been able to try 3DTV Play yet, but I'm sure it should run a lot smoother than these Tridef drivers, what the hell...

Mafia 2 is also very slow, even slower than GTA IV episodes, at 1920 x 1080 is just unplayable, lagging, at 8 to 13 FPS. I can only play at 1280 x 720, but it's also not very smooth, FPS vary between 25 and 32FPS. It really doesn't matter if I turn off Apex Physx, no difference in the FPS. Anyway Physx won't work with these Tridef drivers.

The only way to play games with Tridef is at 1280 x 720 and that's sucks, cause I'm using the interlaced 3D option for my Samsung 3D Plasma TV, so it's half the resolution per eye, so 3D quality is worst than 3DTV Play 1280 x 720p 60hz. 1920 x 1080 would be great, cause even using interlaced option, I would get half resolution per eye, and it would be about the same as 1280 x 720 that 3DTV Play offers at 60hz, but the frames per seconds are limited to less than 15, making games unplayable at FULL HD.

I was very disappointed with Tridef, the performance hit in frames per seconds are just the worst I've ever seen, it's like 100% more than what I get compared to playing games in 3D in my 120hz display. I do hope 3DTV Play is a lot better than these Tridef drivers, otherwise my 3D Plasma TV will work only for 3D Videos and 3D bluray, no 3D gaming.

I didn't find side-by-side 3D options for Tridef, there's only interlaced I think, that's the only one I can use, I didn't see a menu for using other 3D layouts for Tridef.
All I know once I start a game in Tridef control panel, the game starts in 3D, and the only 3D option that works with my TV is the inerlaced option, the 6th one. I even have to swap sides, left and right, to make to 3D effect look right, otherwise it's out of sync. Side-by-Side would be better, but I don't see this option for Tridef. Maybe its because I have the 14 day trial version, don't know?????
[quote name='Nobsi' post='1132246' date='Oct 17 2010, 10:47 PM']Actually all three stereo drivers (nVidia/iZ3D/TriDef) can be installed at the sane time and co-exist with no problem.

Can not comment much on TriDef compatibility and performance, since I normally use either 3D Vision or the iZ3D driver. TriDef would only be my last resort if both other driver would fail with a particular game, but till today there was no requirement.

How does IZ3D driver works, how's the performance hit???

I've tried playing games in my TV with Tridef and a lot of games don't work at all with it, tried F1 2010 and it looked horrible, with stripes in the middle of the screen, WTF???
I really wish I could just stick to Nvidia drivers and don't mess with this stuff, but I'm sick of waiting for Nvidia to release the official 3DTV Play drivers, since the beta ones don't work with my TV. For my 120hz display I will always use the 3D Vision drivers, don't care about IZ3D and Tridef, since 3D Vision are far better and have much better compability with games as Nvidia works close with devs.

I've just tried playing GTA IV Episodes all settings maximized using Tridef drivers + Samsung 3D Plasma and it's unplayable, even at 1280 x 720. I get less than 20fps at this resolution, 1920 x 1080 is under 8 FPS, it's freaking ridiculous. It doesn't matter if I have SLI enabled or disable.
I have even tried playing GTA IV Episodes with medium settings at 1280 x 720, which is unaceptable for me, and the FPS were at 20's. What a joke those drivers are.

Since I've installed those Tridef drivers, my Nvidia drivers are a little bit crazier, I coudn't even start playing Mafia 2, since game doesn't open anymore. I hope it's a momentary Steam bug, I do hope so.
My Nvidia drivers 260.89 are a little bit crazier, even If I disable 3D stereoscopic 3D in the Nvidia control panel, everytime I start a game in 720p, the TV will go into 3D mode, and there will be no 3D, as 3DTV Play don't work me just yet. Then I close the game go to Nvidia control panel and the box for stereoscopic 3D is checked. So it really don't matter unchecking it, since If I start a game in 720p, it will go into TV's 3D mode. Go figure??????

I guess I can't really complain, since 260.89 drivers are beta and must have a dozen of bugs we don't even know about + trying Tridef trial drivers for the 1st time combined with Nvidia beta drivers = a mix of bugs and stuff we'll never understand. Maybe Tridef is working like crap in my system with crapy performance cause of these Nvidia beta drivers or else..... Tridef lacks compability for a lot of games....

I guess I'll just stick playing games in 3D with my 120hz display which works just fine with 3D Vision drivers and just have my Samsung 3D Plasma for 3Dbluray at the moment and hope someday it will be compatible with 3DTV Play.

I guess I'll just stick playing games in 3D with my 120hz display which works just fine with 3D Vision drivers and just have my Samsung 3D Plasma for 3Dbluray at the moment and hope someday it will be compatible with 3DTV Play.
