I made my donation after I have realized that there will be a free solution, too. To me it is honorable to offer the S3D fix for free but it also is justified to ask for monetary compensation for investing a lot of time and efforts in a project. Even if a cooperation is not possible I hope that there will be a complement regarding the repertory of fixed games.

My original display name is 3d4dd - for some reason Nvidia changed it..?!

I admire Helix for doing such amazing work and even more for releasing it for free. On the other hand I can understand chiri reasons for asking for money. In the end only two people have the means and knowhow to create such a wrapper, so we can't risk to lose any of them. Best news though is that for the first time in many months, I can say 3d gaming future looks bright, together with Oculus Rift and the surge of PC gaming in the coming generation, i think we will be playing in 3d for a long time, hurray!
And as for me, I more appreciate freedom than money :)
Sometimes money provides freedom, and I think that's the point of the Indigomod campaign. For the developers, surely. For us supporters, that's also largely the point. We don't have the expertise to fix the DX11 problem, but we do have a little money to spare, so donating gives us the freedom to tackle the problem in a way that we can. I'm extremely thankful, of course, when HeliX comes out with a fix. On the other hand, the 3D community has been left out to dry for awhile with DX11 games. Bioshock Infinite, a few months. Assassin's Creed 3, about 9 months and counting. This is a developer problem first, and an Nvidia problem second. But the responsible parties haven't solved it. Until the Indigomod campaign, we've had to just pray to HeliX. I'm sure HeliX understands that sentiment, and my post here is intended to encourage the Indigomod campaign to stick with it. HeliX might be the best, but there's a huge appetite for a second!

Every investment made require something back in exchange, which means with collecting money from people you also obtain some obligations to them. And if this not your main project(which gives you profit for life) you can't spend much time on it. That means release delays, people will not get what they expected and start complaining(and when you didn't get any money there will be nothing to complaining about ;)). unhappy people (who payed) are equal to the project dead or much money/time lose. of coz you can spend more time on the project to support it, but as it's not a main project your profit will suffer because of it. Here I mean only small project like mods and etc, not the big work projects. 3D vision community is too small and here only donations may work(i.e pay what you want). Of coz u can always don't get any obligations, grab the money , give what already works and forget about it :D . I hope this is not in this case ;) Honestly i'm interesting what will be with that project, will it be abandon or not. Maybe I'm wrong about all of it and maybe not, only time will show. But this is a bit oftop already and I'll better to stop it :)

I just noticed that the below announcement is now on the Indiegogo website page: "Just to let everybody know, somebody made a similar patch for BI and it is free. I don’t know where to get it and I don’t really care but I am sure you can find it through google. So tell everybody to not pay anymore money. I don’t want the campaign to succeed and you all of you get your money back and live happily ever after. We stopped development and will not spend another minute on it. Just to let you know. Cheers" http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/nvidia3d-vision-dx11-support-patch-for-3d-community-on-example-bioshock-infinite I really hope both of you will reconsider and continue developing your wrapper. It is very much needed and appreciated in this community as well as for the future of 3D gaming.

Chiri, the good people of this board have promised over 4k to a patch you have stated 'may not even get released'. You raised more money than I ever thought you would considering the shaky mission statement and confusing likely outcome of the project and what donations got people. Despite that, you raised a lot of money very quickly, and some people donated huge amounts. Since Helix has said that he has a patch in the works (which was mentioned a few times by eqzitara that he would be doing so in summer) many people have encouraged you to continue to take the money and release the patch. This was for the benefit of everyone here. Now becuase someone else is offereing another solution, you are throwing away all your work and not releasing it for the benefit of the community despite so much good will shown to you guys? I personally find that abhorrent. What a kick in the face to all the great generous people here who supported you. I personally think that this sums up what Helix was saying about not accepting donations. This to me was the cart before the horse. You were just $950 shy of your goal. Why would you shoot it down now? I question the motivations and desired outcomes based on this development. If you really believe in your project, and are proud of your work, you would not just bin it all. Multiple solutions to the same problem occur all the time. Something here doesn't quite add up.

It's confirmed, indigomod has been put to sleep. SG are very disappointed by this decision and in truth don't agree with it. I think their was room for both, as both helix and chiri are obviously very talented people. We had just finished uploading our new vids of the wrapper, yet seems little point now in making live. I will though just for those whom were interested. As much as I don't agree with Chiri's decison, I still respect the work he has done, and would like to thank him for all his hard work. I think it's more disappointment that has contributed to the cancellation, and that he doesn't want to have people losing money when their is a excellent free option available. In Chiri's eyes he is doing what he thinks is right and trying to protect and be fair by those whom have invested. Again I dont agree but respect his decision and wont be giving him a hard time. Disappointment aside, we still have the excellent helix fix which works very well. Our 3D gaming is in good, safe hands. And the communiity remain, contributors remain. Im still very positive

Do you know what is interesting, I have a HMD and Tridef, and after playing some of BI I wasn't really that into it, but yet I donated not just for BI but for the hope that the solution defined here could be used for future and current DX11 games. I was aware that Helix had intentions on working on such a wrapper prior to donating, yet myself and others still donated. I can understand not feeling to continue your work, its your choice in the end, but the response posted was definitely a kick in the face. Seems like it was posted out of being upset more than just the idea that there was another free solution. I am very disappointed about this outcome

The tone of the statement on the funding page sounds negative but that might just be me. It would have been nice to have two ways to fix games in the future. Hopefully Chiri will still remain a part of the community.

Dang, so close, with a week left and only $954 to go!!! I was so looking forward to both Chiri's and elbarterino's Indigo Mod and Helix's fix too. I was also taking eqzitara's advice and I was not going to play Bioshock Infinite until both Chiri's and Helix's mods had been finished. Man, this sux!!!!

I personally think this is where money got the waters murky. If Chiri had done this for free, he would have still released it as it was only for the benefit of 3D gaming. Donations on a successful product would have still been a great amount of money (judging by the generosity here). Either that or payment required for downloading the patch once completed. Now there is the feeling of pressure, as the solution may not be perfect, or the free solution may be better than the paid one. This has caused a rather negative response. But as been expressed by every donator (that I have read) they still want the project to go ahead, and for the work to benefit everyone. If i spent this time on a solution, I would be intrigued how the other (helix) came about it. If the end result desired is purely better 3D gaming, couldn't that have been a great development, two people understanding and sharing ideas on something that is higher than most of us could even begin to understand. But instead of that, we get 'project cancelled, not spending another minute on it... Live happily ever after..' Which I can't help but take a rather dim and cynical view off. If the end goal was to keep 3D alive or to better 3D, all projects would be met with great enthusiasm and praise, even if there is crossover of work.
