I hate Acer's website!!! They really should fire whoever is in charge of it! Couldn't download an owner's manual yet. But there is a new driver/EDID listed. if I had not dropped a load of cash recently on a PB278Q and an oculus rift, I would have hit the purchase button by now.

Looks great, but I'd really advise against it. If people are struggling to run 3d on the swift at "only"n 1440p, gaming in 3d on this thing would be a total slideshow.

Why are you unhappy with the PB278Q? For what reasons would you rather get the Acer? I have an Acer H6510BD and a GD235HZ, while I have no problems with them, I'm no fan. I do love my VG278HE though and I am an ASUS fan.

I do have A 39" Seiki with a 3840x2160@30Hz resolution. An old room mate traded it to me for money he owed for bills. The thing is, it looks great when using 4K resolutions, but anything lower produces a soft image that isn't very crisp. So I wonder how it'll be on the ACER using 1440P or 1080P.
the acer 4k model doesn't support 3d.
It has "Nvidia 3D Vision Ready" tag on it from Nvidia. And the page itself clearly says: "This monitor is 3D ready!" Where is your source of information?

Check the specs. It doesn't support 3D because it only has a 60hz refresh rate.

Actually, the Acer product page says it has a 144hz refresh rate. Scroll down and click the "ultra fluid motions" button. http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/series/xb0

Bandwidth required to push a 4K 30Hz signal is about the same as required for 1080P at 120Hz Using CVT Reduced blank timings 1920x1080P@120HZ = 285.5424 MHz 3840x2160@30Hz = 262.92 MHz HDMI 2.0 has enough bandwidth for a 4K 60Hz signal. Displayport has the bandwidth as well.
