This is just talking about 3D graphics in general, not stereoscopic rendering or 3D Vision. Specifically, middleware that intelligently generates low-polygon models for viewing at a distance. Interesting find, but doesn't mean anything for this game in 3D.

Anything new about the implementing of the 3D Vision for this so expected game (mafia 2 was 3D vision ready) ? ... I cross the fingers the developers will do the job, I 'll already buy it if 3D Vision ready :-)

Apparently the game is locked to 30 FPS!!! Hihihi... 30 FPS on a PC ^_^ Hihihi again.... Steam reviews are all "in flame" over this. Also, any resolution above 1080p seems to make the game crash for some reason... Just look on Steam reviews.

Funny how Steam goes crazy again about an apparent lock on 30 FPS... but what do I care. I just play it and if I don't like stop playing it haha... 50 GB to download, this will take some time.

Reminds me of Dark Souls 1, but that was THEIR first PORT to the PC ever! :)) Is even funnier how Mafia 2 was 3D Vision Ready even^_^)

I never heard of Simplygon. It seems that it's nothing new. It adjusts meshes so that objects, such as those in the distance are drawn with a lower level of detail, thus reducing the overhead and increasing performance. Bungie used it in destiny. It's available in Unity and Unreal. The Witcher 3 used it, as well as Telltales games for several years. https://www.simplygon.com/games https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Engine/Content/Types/StaticMeshes/LOD/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simplygon This IGN video has Creative director Haden Blackman discussing the game. He talks about the engine starting around 9 minutes in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Xtq18Vmh3s

I hope it gets patched to support unlimited fps. How can this be allowed nowadays? I won't ever touch it if it remains 30fps forever >:(.

They announced that they are working on a patch, no ETA http://www.dsogaming.com/news/mafia-3-update-will-add-support-for-higher-framerates-post-launch-pc-improvements-planned/ I can understand 30FPS in a low budget simple platformer, but not in an action game like this.

LOL "right now the game runs at a solid 30 frames-per-second", it's a selling point! Reminds me of this: "Instead of being excited that we invented a way to increase memory of the GTX 970 from 3GB to 4GB, some were disappointed that we didn’t better describe the segmented nature of the architecture for that last 1GB of memory." - Guess Who

Hope that after the FPS removal patch it will run good in 3d and some of our great shader hackers will be interested in looking in to it. Because Mafia series is one of the best this type games.

I don't get why people say its ungly as ps2. Thats a load of crap, our mind just remembers thing much more better looking. It was not that super looking but it definetly was not ugly. Feels a great game, tight story, tight combat. If you play in 2d the 30fps isn not problem atleast to me. Yes its a Little mushy but still its not that Bad, Allthough only reason i can think of why it's put there in the first place is to influense byers to buy more console copies. In 3d the 30fps cap is a deal braker.
