Monster Hunter World

Fortunately Capcom used their older MT Framework engine rather than the RE Engine for this game. Apparently that was the same engine as Dragon's Dogma (my very fix game fix), although that was DX9 and this is DX11 (thank God. I just checked the store page to double check, and saw DX9 listed but that was for the sound card not the GPU, and my heart skipped a beat for a moment) so it will be different but I'm fairly confident it should be within the realm of my/our capabilities.

Ahh nice. Wow they must have really rolled that engine in glitter to get the monster world visuals thats for sure I wonder how similar it actually is.

The game coming out today have you tested this game in 3D vision CM (knowing that there is a profile in the new drivers)? A fix for the true 3D vision will be great

First impressions: Game starts in Compatibility mode and looks good in fake 3D. There is some haloing or blur around many of the models and can make some text or subtitles a little hard to read. Not sure if that can be helped with different graphics options.. A real 3D Fix would be amazing but compatibility mode is usable and ok for now. Tried turning off 3d compatibility to test real 3d and my driver (the latest) crashed so I had to restart.. Pretty good day one IMO and worth getting.

Well, looks like my work is going to be slow to start on this one. My 16 yr old cat has gotten really sick a few days ago, has been at the vet, and just found out a couple hours ago that he's probably got cancer and tonight he's coming home on palliative care. My g/f is going to be staying with me tonight to help take care of him, and spending a lot of time here over the next few days, and of course there's my cat as well that I'll want to be spending as much time with as I can while he's still of this world, so gaming and fixing time will be limited. I got the game downloading now (which given my gigabyte internet connection should be done quick), so I'll probably have a good couple hours this afternoon and I'll see about the shape I can get it in the meantime. Update #1: First hurdle overcome and got 3DMigoto loaded. Was having a crash on launch at first, but seems to be related to the dumping of a HLSL shader. Disabling HLSL dump all shaders on start got it loaded, and will just work with ASM shaders. Would have been nice to get a full HLSL dump as well, but oh well.

Thanks DJ, I went through something similar with my Kitty a few months back and don't think I will ever get over him. On a positive side note the black and white Palico in the game looks almost just like my Kitty so that is really nice for me!! The Haloing, ghosting or blur whatever its called in compatibility mode is distracting me more now with more play but I'll still use it until a fix is made. Take your time with your cat that is most important!

Good evening, Sorry for your pet The animals are so endearing and affectionate. Sincerely Quick return after instalation of the game The 3d mode CM works perfectly and is appreciable and quality The mode 3d vision also but there are broken shadows and especially the decorations are sometimes in 2d (vegetations) Like the game Assassin Creed 4 black flag I shoot in CM 3d mode in 55 fps The game has a crazy charm from an artistic point of view

Yeah CM mode is decent, although the text is completely warped making it a bit unplayable. Might see if I can change the profile to make the txt screen depth for now. *edit* No luck so far if anyone finds the right flag please post it here.

So far fixed: -foliage and other geometry at screen depth -directional shadows using masterotaku's shadow fixing formula Have run into a pretty significant problem, that spot lighting (like the light that shines on your character from the load save selection screen) is controlled by a compute shader, where even just declaring the stereo texture causes the shader to blow up and fill the screen with light (which is the same thing that happens when the shader is skipped, so it looks like the shader is crashing for some reason). Might have to do with the usage of the default texture slots 120 and 125, so will look into changing those to see if that helps (I wonder if I can change them in a shaderoverride for just that shader rather than all). Not sure how prevalent spot lighting will be in this game, though, so might not be a deal breaker... but if there's any day / night cycle (which I would imagine in an open world game) then that probably will involve a lot of usage of spot lighting. All in all not bad progress so far, but still have yet to play test a little beyond the first village and look into some HUD fixing before I release a WIP. Hopefully have time for some of that tomorrow. Awesome. Thanks a lot, hopefully you can get to the bottom of the spot lighting issue. This is a great game, I am very impressed with it.

Little question by activating the true 3d vision mode you will succeed in bypassing some images of   the vegetation that seems in 2d fixed?

Yes, that was the first thing I focused on fixing. At least in the main base and title screen the problem is fixed, but I haven't gotten to venture past that point yet to see elsewhere. Update #3: Didn't have much time today, since today was the day I got to bring my cat home (he stayed for one more night at the vet yesterday in hopes of improving). But what time I did spend I was able to: -Fix spot lights and other CS lighting shaders -Fixed domain shader for water I'm essentially home bound for the next few days with my kitty now (so hopefully that will lend itself to having some time here and there for finishing up the fix). Turns out it wasn't cancer, but he did suffer a stroke and has lost a lot of his motor functions, eyesight, equilibrium and a lot of his wits, but he seems to be improving from the infection he was suffering from (which *only* took the vet 3 days to discover, yay /sarcasm) and he is definitely a determined little kitty, so here's hoping that he can make at least a partial recovery. At the very least I'm just glad he's home and comfortable. Thank you to everyone who expressed their sympathy/empathy to our situation.
