Nvidia Fast Sync
Nvidia Fast Sync is a new technology introduced with the Pascal GPU. I've no idea if this will work with Nvidia's stereoscopic drivers at anytime in the future, it was just recently introduced in the drivers and is available in the Nvidia Control Panel for Pascal GPUs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTYz4UgzCCU longer version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpUX8ZNkn2U FAQ What are the GPU requirements for using Fast Sync? If I have a G-sync monitor, should I enable Fast Sync as well? Does Fast Sync work for all games? In driver 368.39 it's the un-named v-sync option. What are the GPU requirements for using Fast Sync?

If I have a G-sync monitor, should I enable Fast Sync as well?

Does Fast Sync work for all games?

In driver 368.39 it's the un-named v-sync option. In 368.51 hot driver, the name has been added.

Again another HALF-arsed solution:
Note: If SLI, multi-monitor or stereo mode is enabled, Fast Sync option will not be available. Fast Sync will be available once SLI, multi-monitor or stereo is disabled.
Also:
In general, Fast Sync is designed to benefit games that are running with very fast native render rates (3 times or more the rate of the refresh on you monitor).
3 TIMES???? Good luck getting that in any Modern game...

I've read it works also on Maxwell but you have to do the selection in Nvidia inspector. I have sold my GTX 970 so I cannot test.

I think its advertised for the people who are "competitive" gamers. Competitive gamers for online tend to even always use lowest graphical settings to use 120 hz/144 hz displays. They even turn off VSYNC cause of the tiny bit of delay. So I guess this is the solution.

Hi, at the moment for me it was impossible to activate NV Fast Sync method on these games: Quake 4, Doom 3 BFG and DOOM (2106). The DOOM case it's quite strange because I have it enabled and working perfectly on The Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Skyrim and GTA-V...
Also:
In general, Fast Sync is designed to benefit games that are running with very fast native render rates (3 times or more the rate of the refresh on you monitor).
3 TIMES???? Good luck getting that in any Modern game...
According to my experience it's not really true that Fast Sync needs mandatorily at least x2, x3 or more FPS of monitor refresh rate to function, what NV leterally said was: "In general, Fast Sync is designed to benefit games that are running with very fast native render rates (3 times or more the rate of the refresh on you monitor)". I think it doesn't mean that it only works when you reach exactly these render rates (i.e. with a 60 Hz monitor, 120, 180, 240 fps...). In my opinion it means only that NV Fast Sync technology was thought in general to benefits games that are running with a very FPS rate, being "3x the rate of the refresh on your monitor" just an example of it and being possible it works in other situations in which your high-end GPU render faster than the monitor refresh rate. My case it's a good example of this because in most of the games I mentioned before I can not reach X3, X4... or even exactly X2 FPS avg. of the refresh on my monitor but anyway NV Fast Sync works fine on them. Please, does anyone can tell me how to solve this or could confirm that also happens something similar? Below you can find the settings of my current PC.
