3D Vision 2 glasses not working :(
  2 / 3
Hello. I have similar problem, but my story is more complicated. I bought 3D vision glasses and through a month I didn't have a problem with them. After that time I noticed ghosting effect and I decided to contact with Nvidia. I received new 3D glasses, but I had problem with charging... So I contacted with Nvidia again and I received second time new glasses. When I wanted test new glasses today, I had the same problem as before. I can't turn on glasses.... I tried use port USB 2.0 and 3.0 for charging and nothing help.. I'm wondering that can I have a problem with software? My glasses always blinking at charging. After 5 hours charging I can't run them... My specification: GPU: Titan X win 8.1 64 driver: 369,39 monitor: rog swift pg278q motherboard: MSI gaming 7 What I did wrong? Can you give me some advices? Thanks

Will they run if you have the USB cable connected to them? Normally even if the battery is flat you can still use them when connected to the USB (charging state). Does the orange light turn on when connected to the PC via supplied USB cable? (The battery might be dead in which case it will not charge is is completely flat, although this is rarely the case... I only have one pair of 3D Vision ONE glasses where the batter went flat - from 3 pairs, other 2 are still working fine to date. It is possible the batter cable got severed but that normally takes a LOT of usage/flipping to get it there...)

Thank you for reply! I tested in way you wrote. Glasses doesn't work even when I connect them to USB port... Maybe I have a problem with software. Otherwise I think glasses should be charged, because I charging glasses through more than 10 hours... Orange light always blinking when I connect glasses via USB cable. What can I check, try to resolve this problem?

The orange light blinking means that the battery is charging. When it's fully charged, the orange light will be on without blinking. It usually takes less than two hours for me for a full charge.

Problem is that orange light keep on blinking and after 14 hours glasses isn't charged. Is possible that problem is connected with software or voltage in USB?

You can try to pulse charge them by using something where you can repeatedly switch the power on and off repeatedly. I did this for while watching a movie and it fixed my dead pair. The problem is that once the battery is drain below a certain thresh-hold, the circuit board will not pass current except for a small initial burst amount as soon as it's turned on. By repeatedly feeding it these burst amounts, it's possible to get a enough charge back into it, so that the circuit board allows charging once again.

Most newer phones/digital cameras have decent IR filters, which means you won't really be able to get a good picture of the IR LEDs like you could with older/cheaper phones/cameras... When the emitter is on(bright green LED) you can try taking the picture in a completely dark room but even then they're barely even visible/noticeable. ...or try using a cheap/old camera/phone, maybe even something like a 3ds.

Try using an IR remote in front of the emitter. If it's working, it will block remote's signal, so that TV or the device doesn't response. All my remotes don't work when 3DV emitter is active. If you selected the second room option during 3DV test/activation then above method won't work.

If you recently bought the emitter and glasses and they are not working, the most likely culprit is a dead battery. If they sit on the shelf too long and the battery charge drops below a certain threshold, they will not charge. To bring them back up past that threshold, it's possible to pulse charge them for an hour or two. Also if you recently bought them, do not use the included CD. The USB and stereoscopic drivers are included in the main driver package since 275.XX

Hello, I recently got the nvidia 3d vision 2 glasses and have this issue. Can someone explain what "pulse charging" is and how to do it?

Hihi. Same boat got a new pair delivered today fingers were crossed they would charge. Initial signs bad. First pressed the power button nothing. Not even red. Plugged them in orange light went semi-static instantly. So it goes static but half blinks so the light doesn’t fully go on/off. Thought great busted. Pressed the power got red the light started blinking properly knew if they would hold full charge be done in 2-2.5 hours. Came back still charging pressed the power button nothing. I have another pair I got last year they were never charged also they don’t hold a full charge I get like a max of 6 hours use but at least they done something, they only take around an hour and are fully charged but again the light glows half static it has the slightest flickering which I took as they want to charge more but can’t. So with these ones today I have plugged them into my iPhone power adapter for a few hours then plugged the power adapter into a socket pulled the USB in/out fast for a few minutes. I can’t just flick the power switch caus they keep charging for a good 15 seconds when the power is switched off due to the charge still being in the phone brick. So not sure how else to pulse charge them. The brick doesn’t even feel slightly warm like it’s not doing anything at all but running the charging light. Even tried a trick I used on my iPhone 4 that’s battery is so degraded it wouldn’t turn on by holding the phone on the side of a warm cup of tea. Held the glasses with the metal Nvidia shroud and the button on the side of a warm cup to get the battery temp from cold didn’t do anything. Sitting here just looking at them on the table flashing orange.

Full orange is fully charged. Leave them plugged in all night while flashing orange.
