Acer H5360 won't go into 3D mode during the Setup Wizard. (It sqeeks) Any new 3D vision compatible p...
First off I'll say that I'm sure this thing is beyond repair because of it's age. I'm writing this to see if anyone has had something similar happen and 'maybe' was able to repair it. Acer won't touch it now. Anyhow, the projector worked great for a long time, then developed an issue where it needed a chip repaired as it was projecting dead pixels. When I got it back from Acer, the colors were a bit off. Red was orange. I was tired of not having it (had it repaired twice)and left as it but did not use 3D vision since it's return. I tried 3d vision last night for the first time in a couple years, Windows and Nvidia detect the projector perfectly, when I click the 'Run Setup Wizard' it properly goes into 120hz, but when it's time to kick on the 3D for the wizard and go throught the tests, the Nvidia IR lights up for 1 second, goes back to dim, the projector makes a slight audible squeek, and then the wizard goes back to the start. Anyone have this happen? Also, which projectors of today if any work with 3D Vision? The more affordable, the better but I'm looking into any and all options. Thanks everyone!

Nice! 1080 3D Do most current games work with 3D vision these days? That projector is quite a bit more than I would like to spend but if 3D vision is still cranking away, I may swoop this thing up today.

If I had to guess on the squeek, I'd guess that the color wheel is binding and not switching to high gear when going from 60 to 120Hz. There are youtube videos you could watch and possibly easily fix it.

Well I have a Optoma HD142x DLP Projector working fine with 3D vision so that could be an option for you as well.. As for the squeak could be the color wheel like was stated but if you open it up the color wheel is right there and you may see the wires close to it that could be causing the squeak or the bearing is shot in it.. There are parts for some Projectors on ebay if your inclined to fix it yourself.. I did for years and the 2nd to last projector right now is beyond my ability to fix it.. I have the Optoma HD142x working fine with an Optoma 720 EDID Override..
