OLED (LG 55EG910V) - good to play PC 3D games?
I am thinking on buying a new TV, and I wonder if this TV (LG EG9100, or also called lg 55EG910V) can be used to play in a good way with Nvidia 3D Vision. http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/eg9100 I have no experience with 3DTV (I'm not sure if it is called like that), I have always played with my Samsung 2233RZ monitor. Apparently, according to what I have read, OLED TV's have the better quality when watching 3D movies, and I ask myself what could be playing games also, not with the EDID trick that I have read in this forum, but using its own pasive glasses. Anybody have experienced Nvidia 3D Vision in a OLED display? is it a good idea? This TV is around 1900€ at this moment, and maybe it is even a good idea to use as a huge PC monitor, even thouhg it is only 1080p for 55". I am in loved with te utopic pure black dot since the ending of the CRT monitors. Could be this TV also good to use with Tridef software?

This discussion thread also references a 1080p EDID mod, and the 3DVisionEye Swapper application required for both 4K and 2K EDID mods. Both EDID mods enable 3D Vision to be supported using the TV's native (RealD polarized) passive glasses - the support is provided by Optimized for NVIDIA GeForce mode, rather than NVIDIA's inferior 3DTV Play. As mentioned in the referenced thread, TriDef's Ignition works great with the 4K EDID mod, as well (Ignition interface set to Line-interlaced, Swap L/R mode). By the way, the 4K EDID mod generally requires 980 Ti-level GPU performance for recent games like Fallout 4.

There's one huge drawback to OLED TVs, unless they've solved it. The drawback is that the organic material in the Blue Spectrum doesn't have a long life. Only about 17,000 hrs, which equates to about 2yrs of 24/7 use. I did come across this site that shows they are working on solutions http://www.oled-info.com/tags/lifetime/blue_color I'd imagine that the 3D on a OLED would be almost ghost free. LCD TVs/Monitors, ghost because of pixel persistence because LCD crystals are only so fast at switching off and on. OLED TVs do not require a backlight and can be turned off/on instantaneously. Whether they have bad input lag or not is a whole different story. So do your research, too much lag and it's worthless for gaming. You'd probably also want to check if OLEDs would have Image Burn problems like Plasma TVs.

I'm not sure they solved the issue with blue OLED's but I'm sure I read somewhere that one workaround was that they made the blue twice the size. Plus I assume they setup the software to autocalibrate based upon the number of hours usage.
