Just thought i would say that i took the plunge and bought this monitor and....
...i think its great.
there can be some ghosting, but in normal game play ive only ever noticed it once. strangely the nvidia test screen is by far the worst place ive seen it so far!
I think its quite interesting how different 3D is on a monitor compared to a projector. its more intense on a monitor and i find that it can strain more than with a projector. The slightest head movement makes a huge difference being so close, but sat 10 ft away looking at a projected screen doesnt have the same affect.
I think overall, im really impressed with the monitor. its very crisp and clear, and the 3D is great. most importantly, as someone who has only experienced DLP, ghost free 3D - its actually fine. I couldnt imagine this being an issue.
Im just not sure im used to such close up 3D gaming, so im gonna have to see how it goes. im finding myself wanting to turn 3D off after a while for some releif, which is something ive not experienced during a whole year of playing on a projector. Guess i need to tone the settings down, as they are clearly stronger on a monitor than the h5360.

Just thought I would add. I realised that i had initially put the contrast to 0 based on a post I read somewhere - which is why i saw almost no ghosting.
I realised just how much ghosting this monitor actually has when i turned it back up.
turning the contrast up to 100 makes a significantly brighter 3D image but is completely unaceptable to me due to the ghosting...
it was only after messing with the contrast that I realised just how dark the 3D image needed to be to eliminate ghosting. i think i can get it to a maximum of 25 contrast before it becomes too noticable that it would be distracting.
I tend to play gloomy games anyway, so its probably not that bad.

as i played a bit more, i think I have decided that the ghosting even at 0 contrast is unaceptable for me.
its fine for th emost part, but in bright scenes its very noticable and my eyes dart all over the place noticing a ghost then ignoring it and back to the game.
I think I will be returning the monitor and getting a short throw DLP projector.
pretty gutted, becasue its excellent for the most part - but i dont want to have my enjoyment reduced as soon as things get a bit bright :(

what games are you playing? . I find night and day differences for different games with my Acer 27. Strategy games like total war, civ 5, Ruse ghosting is non issue for me. Some first person games like duke nukem are pretty bad but others like fable are fine for me. I guess it is a matter of personal preference and sensitivity.
I do wish there was a 27 or so inch dlp however that would operate as a monitor. That would solve everything. My 82 inch mitsubishi is a bit large to sit and type at.

any game it seems. just looks perfect when its all gloomy, but when things get bright there is visible ghosting.
I think i will ge gettign a short throw projector about 1m away from the wall to project a 32" screen or something, which I will sit about 2 foot away from.
Not ideal for use as a monitor, but a better gaming experience methinks...

If you go out ghost hunting you are just going to be disappointed. If you actually just play the game and try to have some fun you barely notice it (in all but the most obvious cases).

hi, i own this 27" acer now for 3 days, and i am quite happy with it: ghosting is visible sometimes, especially the crosshair in crysis 2, but in metro 2033 i see no ghosting at all.
otherwise the screen is quite good: responsivness is okey, uniform background light, no dead pixels, the stand is not the best but will be replaced.
the only issue i have is that when i switch back to desktop from a 3D vision enabled game, the screen keeps it 100% Brightness, although i set it to 10% when on 2D desktop at 1080p with 120 Hz. i usually have than to alter to 100Hz and than back to 120 Hz to get rid of the 100% brightness (which is fixed when the display is connected via DVI and a 3D signal is received from the display)
any ideas? drivers and software is all up to date

in a laughable feat of irony, i replaced my monitor with an Optoma gt720... and there is MUCH more ghosting on that than there ever was on the monitor!

I ordered 3 for surround, one was faulty with a dead DVI port, but once it was replaced all was good. Nice screens for non-IPS tech. They look great for 2D and good for 3D. Still ghosting, certainly not worse than some of the other new screens out there, but definitely still has ghosting in high contrast scenes. You want 27" LCD 1080p 3D? This is as good as it gets right now.

Excellent monitor. Almost ghost free for me. I'd recommend to anyone as a 3d monitor.
The only con is it's not adjustable, so I put a little book under to have a better angle :P

I thought DLP was ghost free?
i know my acer h5360 is 100% ghost free!
