3D projector help
Hi all,

I hope you guys can help me out here. I recently split up with my gf, and unfortunately she took the TV. Harsh. It was hers in the first place, but still... /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

But because I'm now saving a ton of money on romatic dinners and the likes, I have decided to comfort myself with the purchase of a nice projector.

As I'm already using 3D Vision on my PC, I definitely want to get one that offers that option as well, so that I'll be future proof-for upcoming 3D television programmes as well. I'm basically planning to connect my Xbox360 and my HD Receiver to it, so Composite and HDMI input is a must.

What is currently getting me worried is the fact that once the lamp inside the beamer burns out, it's basically just as expensive to replace it as to get a new beamer all together. Is that still true?

So if you guys could let me know some recommendations, I would really appreciate it.

In terms of budget, just fire away, would like to get a good overview of the different price ranges and what features seperate them.

All the Best, and thanks in advance for your input.

Wicked, that looks very interesting and is actually way cheaper than what I had thought. Are there any 1080p capable beamers?

Also, I'm gonna hve to get a good quality screen as well, do you know of any that can be attached to the ceiling and then lowered and retracted with a remote?

Thanks for your help, really appreciate it!

There are plenty of 1080p projectors but none is comptaible with 3D vision and none has Hdmi1.4 inputs.

You'll find many DLP projectors claiming to be 3D ready with "DLP-link" technology.
This 3D technology is not supported by 3D vision (although nvidia could make it work anytime they want, it's just that nvidia does not want to support it). iZ3D is trying to support it, without success yet

Since you intend to plug your game console on this projector, you should be aware that console 3D games do not support the Acer H5360 or any other "Nvidia 3D vision ready" projectors. So your console games will always be 2D.

Ah, that's good to know. So as it is right now, I can only choose to either play in 3D with my PC hooked up to the beamer, or play in 3D once the consoles support it but with a different type of beamer? What a mess...

Ok, so I'd more likely play console 3D in the living room bc I prolly wouldn't move my PC in the first place, so what kind of beamer should I get for that? Would that also be compatible with upcoming 3D TV?
