Tes IV Oblivion. Sky & water in stereo fix by YoZJ Correct display of water and the sky...
  2 / 4
I have posted this already but is this sky problem the same
issue as in stalker and can this be fixed as well. I noticed that in
stalker if I turn my shutter glasses around the sky is in perfect 3d
so it seems logical that this can be fixed as in oblivion can
anyone help here ?

Thanks Mark.

Hey, I just wanted to thank you for your work on this. After I got the convergence settings just right it now works flawlessly (shadows off, water reflection off)

Brilliant!

--EDIT--

Sorry, I didn't look at how old this thread was. A PM would have been more appropriate, my bad.

This work is indeed excellent. I have used it in my version ever since I found it, plus a few changes of my own of course.

I found that the see through water was bright sky blue at night time.. It looked a bit wrong.

I found that the flat 'mat' water was more consistantly good looking whatever time of day

I did the same - I had the natural water plugin installed which I removed, then after applying these textures I adjusted the ini file to remove all reflections. The skybox was the biggest issue for me.

This fix definately works

BUT

[s]it has really caused a performance hit on my rig. I was getting FPS at my test spot of high 30s and now only have 23-25!

Any ideas?

whoops!

My bad

now and again my system slows down and I have to reboot to get it back to speed. Happens once every 2 days or something...

Quality fix - it works

Check task scheduler in control panel, anything in there? Also, windows defender, anti virus etc.. will have an impact on performance.

I can't seem to get this fix to work, the stars are still split in half, and since my character is a vampire that's kinda important.

All I really wanted to fix was the sky not the water, so i took the "meshes" folder and put it into Data, but nothing seems to have changed. Also I wanted to apply this same fix to ShiveringIsles, but all of the file names are the same as the oblivion fix so i can't just put them in the same place...

If anyone was able to get this fix to work could you please fill me in?

I'm currently still working on Fallout 3, but I will probably get back to Oblivion reasonably soon. Once I do, I will see what I can do.

hey, i've been playing through oblivion again in 3D using the sky fix and some other mods, and everythign was going great until i saw screenshots from my last playthrough where i had much better looking sky textures. So i got this mod better night skies or whatever and copied and pasted the textures into the right directory. its supposed to just replace the night textures with ones with better moons and stars and whatever. but now i dont really see any stars at night and rarely the moons and the worst part of all is that now oblivion (as in, inside an oblivion gate) has a day/night cycle instead of the hellish looking sky that i liked.

However, on the plus side, i guess, the night skies inside Oblivion gates look great, they have the new textures.

Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions on how to straighten this mess around? I just copied the texture files into data/textures folder and merged/overwrote when prompted.

*EDIT* Ended up just reinstalling game and all mods except sky textures and im not going to get picky this time!

Btw, I did fix the Fallout 3 issues (http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12600), so I'll see if I can't spend some quality time with Oblivion now. /stud.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':stud:' />

Thanks for all your efforts pahncrd :)

I bought recently Fallout 3 on a steam sale, and just checked the webpage you mention.

Can you please explain a little the part you say:

"Be sure that bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 is set in your ini and that you have a solution for archive invalidation of some sort."

What solution are you talking about? tia.

Also, any kind of short list of mods that I can't live without, models, textures, quests, etc, would be great too :D

Hey, can anyone tell me how to take 3D screenshots in oblivion without having your menu pull up and block the view? I hit alt-F1 and it brings up the view of my inventory/map and character. The only time i can take decent screenshots is when i'm talking to someone because the menu cant be pulled up then. I tried looking for a way to remap the screenshot hotkey and apparently thats a real pain, and i also tried finding a way to disable F1 from pulling up menu in oblivion settings,b ut it doesnt list it

These are the only types of screenshots i can take as it is. I think the dude's expression in the background is hilarious for some reason. Oh and sorry for the jaggies, this was before i forced AA in the NVCP:
