I just downloaded Rune classic from Steam, and it looks beautiful in full HD, but it isn't running it in 3D. There is no stereoscopic setting in the advanced setting I could find. I loved this game, and it would be a real trip to play this in 3D. Help!

well, since it is directx7, which isn't supported by 3d vision, a workaround has to be found, like a dx8 or dx9 renderer that works with this version, or a opengl renderer converted via gldirect, or something like that.

Rune is in the list as supported. In fact, it is rated as excellent, and I imagine it would be. The game looks great. I played through Rune a few times back in the day, and it would be such a treat to play that in 3D. I loved that game. I wonder if the original Rune works, but somehow the Rune classic doesn't? It's really sad it doesn't work. :(

There is a new display engine for these early unreal games. It runs dx9+ (dx10 i believe) and enables 3D in the first Deus Ex and supports Rune.
Your mileage may wary. I had some artifacts with elements rendering at wrong depth. Primarily light glows. Shadows should be fine (there are almost none).

I don't think that works for the new Steam release, though. Should work for the original CD release!

Well, I asked in the forums if the old renderers would work, apparently not as some of the code has changed. http://www.rune-world.com/content/rune-classic-and-d3d9-renderers
As for the list, which I assume is the one inside the driver control panel, it is fully out-dated, it still has the list of games that worked under the old, pre-3D Vision driver.

Yeah, I started a thread there, with Steam, and here. Thanks for your help. I guss it's just Steam's version that you can't play it in 3D. It's sad. This game would be KILLER in 3D. Tho, I think it would be a bit of a headache...
