The Witcher 2 in 3D Vision Official thread from NVIDIA

I'm Tired, I'm Frustrated, and I GIVE UP!
thank you nvidia and cdproject. thanks again for this terrible support, for just disappearing when we most needed your help, for this nightmare of 3d vision, for all the money i spent in your hardware just that i couldn't enjoy this "3d vision ready" games, for being that careless when you had the game in your hands and dint take the time to test the final product. At least you could have just named your technology nvidia 3d BETA Vision.
Thank you nvidia /no.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Yes, I also will thank you for the great silence. I’m finished with this forum. Now I focus on amazon and write my 1 star review for that great support. Let’s have a look if I can mobilize enough people here in this forum to make a 4 star game to a 3 star or less game. I think 20 people will be enough.

For that it should be cleared if it is nvidias fault or the gamedevelopers fault-the game is great so a 1 star rating is not fair but to substract 1 or 2 stars is ok.

One month later and absolute silence about the issue...however, i give up as well - no biggy, as i do not have the time to play anyway.
Just wanted to throw in my two cents about 3d vision and Nvidia in common, having been an ATI customer in many years and switched to Nvidia because of ATI´s lack of 3D support - and i loved 3d way back then on the ELSA revelator, it was just a flawless experience on my old Phillips 19" CRT.
so, i bought a set (GPU, Screen and 3d vision) in march that year thinking that 3d vision would be by now useable (i hate to be an early adopter and battle bugs and other troubles, my time is too precious for that) - and 3d vision being on the market since 2008 - what could possibly go wrong? /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
first of all: ghosting (any 3d vision user has heard about that one i guess, no need to dive further into that matter) /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> - and then the witcher2 desaster. NVIdia is silent and CDPR is too busy clapping themselves on their shoulders - and their "community"-site is an advertisment/news site.

No communication is disrespectfull to the customer. The Game ist just great i started it without 3d and now i am hooked. Thx Nvidia.
nVidia already communicated that the problem is caused by a malwritten routine in the game and that they're working with CDPR to fix it. What more do you expect from nVidia? They can't force CDPR to release a fix.
That's why this nVidia bashing is childish. Even CDPR bashing is childish, since you have to realize that there are many other bugs and it's their perogative to fix them in the order they seem appropriate.

a) Excuse yourself
and
b) do everything possible to fix the situation in time.
within reason, yes. But again, you're targetting the wrong party here.

Ok-Sorry i didn´t read that-still as a customer i demand a working product and still there is the big fat logo of 3dvision support on the package-isn´t it?
We as customers got trained to accept software wise broken products with false promises.
If you buy a house and the advertisment states with full working kitchen and you come to the house and the kitchen is broken-you could sue the agent.
Why are there differnt laws for only software? Nowhere else companys are alowed to put such broken products on the market- i am not only reffering to the witcher.
Everybode into Gaming could name 100 of examples. Since Broadband Connection most game companys haven´t put a Single Full Working Game.
The frame of mind is-yeah we patch that later.
I started gaming with the commodere 64- so i know what i am talking about. In those days and even early pc days customers would return a product if it where broken so gamecompanys made sure there product is ready.

I was going to buy Witcher 2 now on holiday since I recall its 3D Vision Ready, but no. /unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Nowadays I'm so spoiled with 3D Vision that I play only 3D stereo games and check this forum what games support it.

You write a post like that complaining about how they don't check for and fix their mistakes??
Guys, it is a fact that Nvidia and/or CDP have blown it big time with this, but what I don't understand why don't you use the already mentioned hack/trick to disable the nvidia 3dvision process, alt+tab and re-enable. This allows me to set considerably good pop-out stereo with minimum separation and really higher fps (both indoor and outside)and is quite sufficient until performance gets fixed. Yes shadows get broken, but with minimum separation and the right convergence (yes convergence gets unlocked) you can get most of them to work fine. I am not suggesting this as a permanent solution, but it beats complaining and not playing a great game such as W2.
I remember the days when 3d from Nvidia came at the price of poking around ini files to find out exactly what has to be disabled. The fact that this is a 3dvision ready game means you shouldn't have to do this, but playing it beats waiting and being angry at the world /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
PS.: For me the fact that when predefined settings for the game get disabled stereo works fine means that this is a Nvidia issue, not a CDP one. Then again CDP could have made it easier for them :)

I don´t know about this workaround-i thought it´s only playable with stereo disbaled.
Can you explain deeper. I tryed to alt tab the game but nothing is happening
Amorgeddon, it was explained earlier in the thread. Six steps:
1. Enable stereo through the Nvidia control panel
2. Run services through the run in the start menu or the windows control panel directory
3. Find and stop the Nvidia 3dvision process
4. Run Witcher 2
5. Alt+Tab and restart the process in services
6. Alt+Tab back in the game and play :)
The shadows will be messed up unless you set depth to minimum, so be sure that's the first thing you do, after that just tweak convergence and save the profile.

Just wanted to throw in my two cents about 3d vision and Nvidia in common, having been an ATI customer in many years and switched to Nvidia because of ATI´s lack of 3D support - and i loved 3d way back then on the ELSA revelator, it was just a flawless experience on my old Phillips 19" CRT.

first of all: ghosting (any 3d vision user has heard about that one i guess, no need to dive further into that matter)
yep, next time it is ATI again.

1. Play the Game without 3d like every other dude who didn´t invest a lot in a new gpu, monitor and glasses.
2. Wait until the gods of nvidia finally hear our prayers and answer us unworthy humans.
I mean it´s ok to screw up. Everybody does but then you have to
a) Excuse yourself
and
b) do everything possible to fix the situation in time.
Nobody can tell me that its not possible to fix such a thing in other a month
But it´s all about the money yoo. The Game is allready sold and priority is low on this subject.
it´s a damm shame

No communication is disrespectfull to the customer. The Game ist just great i started it without 3d and now i am hooked. Thx Nvidia.
