I have a 3d Vision 2 monitor (Asus VG278H) that only supports:
DVI, HDMI, VGA
I want to upgrade my graphic card to a GeForce RTX 2080 but it has no DVI only the following ports:
HDMI 1
USB Type-C 1
Display port 3
HDTV Support Yes
Since 3D gaming (1080px60fps) on my 120 Hz monitor only works through DVI am i screwed? Do i have to give up on 3D if i want to upgrade to GeForce RTX 2080? Is there no way to make it work without DVI?

Active DisplayPort to DVI adapter (has anyone tried one yet with a RTX GPU?), or "just" get a new 3D monitor that has DisplayPort.
If your GPU comes with an adapter, I think I heard people say it's a passive one, which doesn't work. You need the full 330MHz pixel clock.
100$ adapter? So it's like i thought, i must give up 3D if upgrade to Geforce RTX 2000 Series. Getting a new 3D monitor is not an option.
LOL i see that move as golden one. epensive as shit and seems they have some major flaws as people are getting bricked cards out of the box and all sort of problems. besides is giving up on 3d even an option ?

it works on my TV via HDMI, and my SD2718DG that works via displayport...
I have that monitor too... just I don't have a display port to dvi cable.
but yeah with your monitor, and not wanting to spend any more money. There's no magical free solution, no.

It's not even just about more money, the 330MHz pixel clock adapter isn't even available in my country, i can't imagine myself adding shipping prices as well.
Guess it's finally time to say goodby to 3D Vision since it won't be supported on the next gen of nvidea graphic cards.

RTX 2070 Founder's Edition has a DVI port. Maybe some custom RTX 2080 will also include it.

By the next gen do you mean 3000 Series? How do you know it?

Well its not based on money because you could have gotten a 1080 ti with similar performance, less cost and 3D vision with DVI!

There might be cheaper adapters available now, I have mentioned this many times.
I have a DP to HDMI 2.0 adapter that I currently use, it's now possible with the additional power available in the newer Display Port outputs/specification. Scabbing power from USB is no longer necessary. The question is, is anyone making one for Dual Link DVI yet?

Maybe other brands card will include DVI like Asus, PNY etc? I have the same monitor as you and I had this problem with my 1080TI founder edition i had to return it and wait for an Asus card to be shipped. Thankfully all other cards had DVI ports.
