Bought the game today via Steam. Have triple screens but only use 1 monitor in 1920x1080 to achieve 60 FPS in 3d vision and all maxed out. 3d vision only works if I start with DX12 enabled... Strange! Tried Helix mod but it doesn’t work for me (game crashes) ... Strange again! With official 3D support it looks incredibly good but shadows are at screen depth and therefore unusable. Is this normal (broken shadows) or is the problem on my side?

Sounds like a problem your side. That said I seem to have trouble getting to get this game to start in 3d from memory and have to jump through a few hoops but its been so long since I tried it out. Shadows where not screen depth but it still wasn't as clean as Helifaxs fix.

The Helix fix only works if you are using build 610 of the game. You have to go into Steam properties where beta settings are click the drop down arrow and chose 610. I have used both the fix and Nixxes 3D update to play it. Only problem I had is with the sky box being off in Soviet installation at certain times of day.

Thank you guys, I really don’t know what’s the problem on my side. Concerning Helix mod I did exactly everything (switch to build 610, change profile...), but game always crashed (black screen, had to restart my PC). Only when I reverted from beta to actual version the crashes were gone... The Official vanilla game gives me wrong shadows (so I have to turn shadows OFF) and for example the footprints in the snow (right at the beginning of the game and later on in Syberia) are rendered on one eye only (so it looks a bit distracting). I have latest NVIDIA driver. What could be the problem? Are your tracks in the snow rendered correctly for both eyes?

This sounds like you didn't enable the "Stereoscopic 3D" option in the launcher (in DX11), and instead you're using what the drivers try to do in 3D.

3D should work natively without any fix at least on DX11 as it's never been supported on DX12. Check if the proper 3D setting is enabled in the Launcher and DX12 is disabled. I don't remember if there are any other 3D in-game options besides separation/convergence but you might want to alt+tab or toggle 3D on and off if it still looks broken in DX11. Don't forget to restart the game after changing any significant setting.

Also be sure that desktop resolution and game resolution is same and try disabling DSR if enabled. Weak but sometimes useful advice, if you have any overlay OSD softwares running (MSI afterburner, Fraps, etc) try disabling them.

I think the Nvidia Profile got updated at some point after this fix was released, once the official 3D Vision fix was patched in. In order to get this fix to work you'll need to swap the profile with the old one:
Profile "Rise of the Tomb Raider" ShowOn GeForce ProfileType Application Executable "tr2_x64_final.exe" Executable "rottr_uap.exe" Executable "rottr.exe" Setting ID_0x00a06946 = 0x080002F5 Setting ID_0x00a08746 = 0x00000400 Setting ID_0x00a25fc4 = 0x80000001 Setting ID_0x1033cec2 = 0x00000002 Setting ID_0x1033dcd3 = 0x00000004 Setting ID_0x10834f06 = 0x00000001 Setting ID_0x70092d4a = 0xb19c3534 InternalSettingFlag=V0 Setting ID_0x701eb457 = 0x2241ab21 InternalSettingFlag=V0 SettingString ID_0x7049c7ec = "웬ꑌ" InternalSettingFlag=V0 SettingString ID_0x7051e5f5 = "籬鸙" InternalSettingFlag=V0 Setting ID_0x708db8c5 = 0x21ca1ff1 InternalSettingFlag=V0 Setting ID_0x709a1ddf = 0x4b1cd968 InternalSettingFlag=V0 SettingString ID_0x70b5603f = "榛鳈⏙ꢗ" InternalSettingFlag=V0 Setting ID_0x70ccb5f0 = 0xddfac45d InternalSettingFlag=V0 Setting ID_0x70edb381 = 0x20208b6c InternalSettingFlag=V0 Setting ID_0x70f8e408 = 0x80b671f4 InternalSettingFlag=V0 Setting ID_0x00c96f61 = 0x0000000f InternalSettingFlag=V0 Setting ID_0x003846a8 = 0x0000000f InternalSettingFlag=V0 Setting ID_0x00A0694B = 0x0000000f InternalSettingFlag=V0 Setting ID_0x709a1ddf = 0x4b1cd968 InternalSettingFlag=V0 Setting ID_0x709adada = 0x37f58257 InternalSettingFlag=V0 Setting ID_0x709adadb = 0x3F6C5C19 InternalSettingFlag=V0 Setting ID_0x709adadb = 0x3f6d4ac2 UserSpecified=true Setting ID_0x702442fc = 0x1c224e00 UserSpecified=true EndProfile
Alternatively, you can track down all the settings in the profile (using Nvidia inspector) and put them to 0 until you find the one that makes the game crash.

Thank you all for your fast answers. I will try it again to get it to work flawlessly. Perhaps I really have a problem that my windows resolution is 5980x1080 (Triple Surround) but in game I only want 1920x1080 (Single Monitor) because of better performance (With 3D surround I can't reach fluid 60 FPS, so I prefer single monitor). How do you guys with triples solve this problem? Do you really eliminate the "Surround"-Mode in Nvidia-Driver and change to 3 x "1920x1080" (for each monitor separately) in Windows just to have the same resolution in game as in windows? I thought I can leave my surround-mode and surround-resolution in windows (and for other surround games) and only change the in-game-resolution for games which are too demanding in 3D-surround. But perhaps that causes the troubles. I will try it... And I fiddled around with the Helix-Mod in the past. What can I do to make verything "clean" again? Just select "uninstall" for removal of the Helix-Mod, right? And to reset the profile-swap I could reinstall the Nvidia-driver, this will reinstall the standard-profiles, right? What I really don't want to do is to reinstall the game in Steam, because I would lose my game-progress, right? So many questions! Thank you for helping me!!!

Refer to this thread https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/791450/3d-vision/guide-3d-vision-fixes-by-helixmod-amp-how-to-add-compatibility-mode-to-dx11-games/ It will tell you how to export profiles. Make one set for altering and one that stays unchanged for back up. No need to reinstall drivers........... If you are using "STEAM CLOUD saves", you can uninstall the game and not lose progress. You can also back up the save files to be safe!

Cloud Saves is not necessary (actually I turned it off), Steam keeps saves in this folder: ...\Steam\userdata\ Some games prefer using Documents folder or Appdata folder instead of Steam's userdata folder. When you uninstall a game from Steam, it doesn't delete userdata folder or other save folders.

Thank you so much. At least I figured it out!!! Problem was that I had 144 Hz instead of 120 Hz. Strange! Normally I can use 144 Hz too in 3D vision games. Now I switched to 120 Hz in game and in Windows and now it works!! Best 3D-vision game I think! Although I didn't loose my savegames I will replay the levels just to experience it in best 3D-quality (with shadows on and glorious 3D-effects! Only glitch so far is the avalanche in the first level being a 2D-picture ;-))! Thank you all for helping so fast!

Hi all, hoping for some help... I decided to actually play this game recently but I cannot get it to launch in S3D (except under one circumstance). I did read earlier posts, and have tried the following: - Community Fix (I did everything correctly, I was involved in making the fix, so familiar with the steps) - Removing the community fix entirely and trying the game out of the box. When I did this I reinstalled the graphics drivers to make sure I did not have a dodgy profile (and I used DDU) - Several different driver versions from current back to 384.xx - Several different "game versions" by selecting them in the 'betas' option of Steam - 3DTVPlay does not work either With the Community Fix I just get a black screen. With the out of the box version I don't get past the Nixxes screen before displaying a DXGI error (0x887A0020: DXGI_DRIVER_INTERNAL_ERROR) and a CTD. I get a CTD whether I preselect stereo3d or not before launching the game. The one circumstance where the game will launch into S3D, but is *totally broken*, is when I have DX12 selected, which of course only applies to the developer version (not the community fix). There are no graphics settings that fix anything. I recently got a new 1080Ti (hence going back to try old favourites) but I was dumb and got one without a DVI connector so am using an Active DP-DVI connector (Accel or something). This is working with all other games, so I am not sure if this is anything to do with it, and as I note it does not work over HDMI for 3DTVPlay either. The original Tomb Raider *does* work. I am using the latest update to Windows 10. One final data point - there is an executable in the game folder I noticed called "NvProfileFixer.exe", and running this gives an error that says "An error occurred while attempting to modify the Nvidia driver profile. Stereoscopic 3D support may not be available". Which explains why its not working, but not what to do about it. It does not run in Admin mode, or any of the compatibility modes. Finally - since I got my 1080Ti, whenever S3D is enabled, the computer runs slower, and sometimes the mouse jerks around, it takes about 20s of black screen to switch between S3D OFF->ON, and other annoyances. Any additional nuggets of wisdom would be very much welcome. UPDATE: A bit more searching, seems it might be the Windows 1803 update. Am I basically screwed?

I just uninstalled the game very recently, and I doubt there has been any updates since then, and it had a few shadow issues in some specific locations, otherwise it worked flawless ! My finger is pointing at Win10, though I have no proof, because I never left Win7, and I wont be doing so before it's absolutely necessary :) Why shouldn't your DP-DVI work, when it does with other games... And I asume that you have no dual boot or anything to try... I really hope you find a solution somewhere, it's a great- and fun showcase for 3D Vision :)
