I was giving this a go in 3D the last few days, but gave up and I'm playing it in 2D now. Even with the old 347.52 drivers (with the current fix) there's still issues with the menus, and like Torgue67 I wanted to play it on a gamepad, and binding the crosshair fix to right trigger didn't work well enough for aiming.
More importantly the 347.52 drivers crash another game I play regularly (H1Z1) and with newer drivers SoM is broken in 3D (with and without the fix, the fix actually makes it worse). It's a shame because it did look great in 3D.
I've actually had good luck with this game on recent drivers, 355.82. The menus in Sauron's Army are back (might or might not be driver related), and I don't have any glitches with the glow effects while playing.
The fix is imperfect though, in menus/map/army/upgrades there are several glitches. We didn't focus upon that section that hard because you don't spend that much time in them, but I want to be clear the fix is not flawless. Your bar for playability may be higher than mine, but I found the actual game-play to be flawless. I focused upon game-play at the expense of menu glitches.
If you find the menu glitches annoying, you can always disable 3D while in them, or set a key to put convergence to 0. I left 3D active in the menus because Sauron's Army and the collectibles look awesome in 3D, even with some glitches.
Let me take a look with the controller, and I'll add some key mappings for those.

I totally agree with you bo3b, the game does not need to be perfect to enjoy it. What is unfortunate is that the glow effect was partly corrected with the patch of helifax. Now with the 2 latest patches, the glow efffet only appears on one eye and is misplaced. This is quite unpleasant because the bug is in the center of the screen and appears during all phases of fighting. I tried to swich with the game mode, this changes nothing.
My game is updated with steam. I also installed the 355.82 drivers but I'm having the same problem.

@Torque67: I'll give the current fix another clean install and check for that sword glow. I'm nearly certain it's fixed, but it could have gotten lost somehow, or different settings or something.
Edit: This happens when convergence is cranked up very high. It's something really odd with that particular shader, the o0.w is > 10000 for this one. If I fix the fight glow, it breaks fires.
Still looking at it, but in the meantime, edit the 6ebdae5f6cbd2a5f-vs_replace.txt shader and add a line to the end: "o0 = 0;" That will just disable this glow for fights and fires, and I think you won't miss it because there are at least 3 layers of glow effects.

Hi bo3b, you are right, when I decrease convergence, the extra glow effect puts itself the right place. Nevertheless 3D is less impressive.
I tried to add "o0 = 0;" to the end of "6ebdae5f6cbd2a5f-vs_replace.txt" but I see no change, the glow effect is always present, I don't understand why.
You can see below a screenshot of the file.

No, sorry, that wasn't clear. There is an assembly shader commented out there, so it actually goes before the "return" statement, which is the last code of the hlsl.
Anyway, here is the shader with it disabled, rename this and replace yours and it should disable that effect. (caveat- I didn't get a chance to test it.)

Hey Bo3b, or anybody who might be able to help
Sorry to bother you guys with this, I wanted to replay this game after Mad Max since they have similar gameplay, but I have an issue.
The HUD disappears when looking in certain directions. It's impossible to enjoy, because the minimap disappears, and the bow reticule as well, which makes me lose direction or miss shots. It also changes the luminosity or a light shader somehow, everytime it happens, which is very annoying as well.
On Helixblog I've seen mention of this, and you guys seemed to say that this issue was driver related.
I've just tried 355.60, 358.50 and 350.12, using DDU, and the issue still happens.
I would really appreciate some help. Are you guys having success? With what drivers?
Could it in fact be fix-related? I've played it last year and this issue was not present. In which case, does anyone still have an old fix available? Maybe some new 3DMigoto functionality introduced this problem with the new versions of the fix?
I've tried the game with 2 versions already. The one in the main article link, which points to a file called 3Dmigoto-Mordor-0.99.4.zip, and the one listed as the most recent, which points to Mordor_1.1.16_v2.7z.
Thank you in advance

Looks like that problem was narrowed down by PirateGuyBrush as being a setting. FXAA+Camera+Object needs to be on.
Not sure about the drivers, initially I thought they were driver related problems, but it's much less clear now. I tested the 1.1.16_v2 pretty extensively with 355.82 while hunting those UI problems, and it was all working.

Thanks for the reply Bo3b.
For the moment, I can confirm that going back to old 344.65 solved the issue. So I will finish the game like this.
If I don't forget before uninstalling the game, I will probably test this setting to confirm (I did have it on off), once I change to newer drivers. And then maybe you can add both these findings to the blog, searching for this information on the forum is indeed painful, I had not find anything. It's easier on the blog since all info is kept together by game and appears at the top.
Thanks again. I hope there are not many games/fixes rendered unplayable by new drivers, But I'll dfinitely have to keep a log for myself now, in case I want to replay certain games.

there is something weird going on here, I actually tried to run the game and find that shader thats below your combo and its the exact same one bob posted, but neither the file attached by bob nor using Handling=skip in d3dx.ini doesnt disable it...
EDIT: ok I was really stupid and was usign the early version of the fix where there were no keys to switch :) After installing the latest version the cycling work although that shader behind the combo that goes almost in the middle of the screen (which is tiny bit annoying) still persist.
EDIT2: I can pretty much confirm the same situation with the 3-2-15 update having it much less prominent, although I have few things render incorrectly there and experience some flickering.
EDIT3: not sure what fixed it tho, I reinstalled the fix and set everything on ultra (was using high earlier) now that glow is gone (there is very slight effect still visible but you can pretty much ignore it). The shooting works and cycling too. Overall looks like a really great experience. Thank you very much for the fix.

Hey guys, I'm a bit late to the party with 3DTV Play and Shadow of Mordor, but I'd love to give this one a shot in 3D.
Problem is, I can't get the 3D to kick in. I get the message about 3D not being compatible @ 1080p after changing the game's resolution to 1280 x 720 fullscreen, even if I launch the game with my desktop set at 720p. Setting a resolution override in d3dx.ini is ineffective.
From what I can tell, the problem is that in this game, UI elements are rendered at the display's native resolution, which is 1920 x 1080. So it's always creating a 1080p window regardless of resolution settings. But I'm a little confused since I don't see any evidence of anyone else running into this.
I've been enjoying PC stereoscopy for about a month now and haven't run into anything like this til now. Any tips?

I'm not sure if this is a specific problem with 3D TV Play, but I can say that this works correctly for me when running at 720p on a projector (H5360). The in game down-sampling says it will convert from the native display resolution.
If fooling with those setting doesn't work, you'll probably need to remove the 1080p setting from the available resolutions, or at least mark 720p as the 'native' resolution. I'm not exactly sure how to do this because I've never run 3D TV Play, just read about those fixes. I think maybe you can do this with Monitor Asset Manager.

Any tips?
If fooling with those setting doesn't work, you'll probably need to remove the 1080p setting from the available resolutions, or at least mark 720p as the 'native' resolution. I'm not exactly sure how to do this because I've never run 3D TV Play, just read about those fixes. I think maybe you can do this with Monitor Asset Manager.
