Sony Passive 3D TV...finally got the 3D looking good...settings inside for people with similar TV
I was getting lost of ghosting. With the standard display adapter driver using 3DTVplay and with EDID Override using 3dVision
I tried to create my own INF file for my TV using the instructions here:
http://3dvision-blog.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2042
I don't know if making a custom one makes any difference but it only takes a minute to do so I did it anyway.
Then I fired up the Nvidia 3d test using 1080p 60fps settings and noticed considerable ghosting.
I messed around with the settings on my TV for that input and almost was able to get rid of all the ghosting by adjusting "reality creation", "detail enhancer" and "sharpness"
The setting that reduced it the most was called ("reality creation" adjusts fineness and noise for realistic picture).
I set that to off and that got rid of most of the ghosting.
There was another setting in advanced settings called Detail Enhancer which was off and I set it to "low" for more ghosting reduction. Turning it off or making it another setting but "low" seemed to cause more ghosting.
Here's my full settings in case someone has the same/similar TV and is having lots of ghosting issues.
TV Model: Sony KDL-55W802A
Settings for input (chose game mode, that will turn off most of the unnecessary effects by default)
Then once in game mode, many options are greyed out as default for that input mode, but for the options that remain editable, here are my settings: (most are default)
backlight: 5
Picture: max
brightness: 50
color: 60
hue: 0
color temperature: neutral
sharpness: 50 (was 60 by default)
reality creation: OFF (turning this off made the most difference)
smooth gradation: off
motionflow: off
ADVANCED SETTINGS:
all are turned off by default in advanced settings, leave them all off except for "detail enhancer"...change that to "low"
you will probably also have to do the registry fix to swap the lenses...if it looks like crap, and you wear glasses upside down and it looks normal, then you know you need to do the reg fix, you can find it here
http://afriendlyfox.com/2013/02/04/massively-improved-nvidia-3d-vision-on-passive-3dtvs-edid-override/
Well I hope that helps..I know most people have LGs or Samsungs but I figured it's worth sharing anyway
Thanks

I remember somebody who did the EDID hack having significant issues with ghosting and it was solved by switching to a different HDMI cable. So if you have spares lying around, it might be worth swapping.

Are you by chance skyguy3D?
I haven't checked out the 3D Vision Blog forums in awhile.
It's saddening to see it so full of spam, must be frustrating for Bloody.

Thanks I read that also. I'm using an xbox 360 branded HDMI cable but have a few others I could try. I should probably use that Xbox 360 hdmi cable for the xbox 360 and take the one out of the 360 and try it on PC. I'll give it a shot to see if t makes a difference.

No I am fairly new. I am new to 3d vision blog as well but it looks like there's one real thread on the top of each sub forum and everything under is spam

That would be me.
Nice find on those options darthcervantes.
Still using my LG TV and also a DLP projector to stream from a Nvidia Shield using Tridef SBS. I prefer having my computer in one main room, where the LGTV is, and then send that image to the projector since this way I don't have to use a very long HDMI cord. Wish Nvidia would open this SBS output up so then I could just use 3D vision when streaming remotely through the projector.

@SkySolstice
Yah, when he referred to a colorbug issue I thought it might have been you. I know you had talked about rewriting your EDID, if I recall correctly.
@darthcervantes
Be sure to enable convergence hot keys if you haven't already.

Also, you'll want to use the community fixes for a better stereoscopic gameplay experience.

Thanks D-Man
I checked the box for convergence settings and they work in game. I don't understand how to install the helix mods. I downloaded one and it looks like a direct X file. I could not find a guide on what to do for them here
http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2010/12/how-to-guides.html
do you know of any guides that walk you through how to do it by any chance?
Edit: I think I found it here:

Ignore those guides. The instructions for installing are almost always on the page for the game. Usually all you have to do is extract the zip to the same folder as the game's exe.
