It's an amazing game with great 3d and really good graphics, at $5 it's a complete steal.

I concur with all this. Awesome 3D implementation. Great deal for $5. Tough on your system though, but to be honest running at medium settings still looks great.

The game was free a while ago, I got an extra Steam code. I'm not certain if it will still work or if I've even got the right thing but if anyone wants to try it. HXF9E-KEWW2-KADH7

2033, probably my best 3D experience. ...and it was the third time playing it... I recommend using direct x 9 and "high quality" graphics, or whatever the second to high option is, with no AA("AAA"). The "MSAA" is not MSAA, its post-process AA and blurs everything. Give it a try of course. DirectX 11 looks almost the same except for the tessellation and depth of field options. You can increase your FOV via .ini edits if desired. 2 .ini files must be changed. Same for convergence.

Oh yeah, loved 2033! Can get pretty difficult though, which is a good thing. It's not cheap difficult, just keeps you on your toes. :) 3d is as good as the best of 3d games.

I like the high difficulty for combat, since although it makes you die much easier from being shot (more realistic), it also makes enemies die more easily so long as you don't hit their armor (also more realistic). I don't recommend it though because it makes the air filters harder to find (i actually ran out and couldn't go any farther in my last playthrough) and you can't take your time when outside, looking at the scenery. Watch out for accidentally switching to military grade ammo.... (aka currency)

This is without a doubt one of my favorite FPS, I don't really like your average/typical FPSs, CoD. Before the modern shooters, when everyone was loving all their WWII shooters, I liked games like Return to Wolfenstein, Condemned, Darkwatch, Breakdown, Doom 3, Geist, Metroid Prime, etc. It's a shame a lot of those games never even made it to PC, therefore will never be playable in 3D. I've never played Metro 2033 in any other way than stealth but it was a lot of fun when doing so. What other game has you charging up your flashlight or your night vision? What other game has a .15 mm air rifle? The Tihar, which needs to be pumped up and is extremely silent and effective. I found that all these little extra mechanics of the game, charging, pumping, the gas mask, all added to a greater sense of immersion over all.

Military/realistic single player games dont work imo. Self plug I know but should check out singularity. Its better then return to wolfenstein or at least wolfenstein[2009]. I think it was you I was talking to in GMG thread but should check out out Clive Barker's Jericho as well. Its sad but I think the single player only FPS's are gonna die out sooner rather then later. I was so interested in darkwatch and hoped it was going to get to PC someday then forgot about it. I actually read a comic thats like it ALOT. Priest.... unfortunately movie industry got there hands on that.

I hope you're wrong about SP, I'm actually getting sick of MP being tacked on to everything, MP in Tomb Raider ... bahahah, that and bro-op, RE5, Dead Space 3. Darkwatch was a great game, too bad they ditched backward compatibility and there's no emulators for it. Sad to see such a great game becoming unplayable.
