Final Fantasy XI Play Online Stereoscopic 3d
  1 / 2
hi. through much searching on forums I have learned that to make this awesome game run in glorious 3d, you just use NVidia inspector to unlink pol.exe from it's default associasion--"all play-online games" and link it instead to: "final fantasy xi official benchmark 3" the results are pretty perfect, except that the glow effect around avatars looks shifted to the side if they're far away. 2 questions: first, more of a statement. this trick works in windows 7 and windows 8.1 ... it worked for a little while in windows 10 technical preview. but as of build 10041 or whatever (when directx12 was implemented and your directx12 driver was written)--this is no longer the case. the trick no longer works. it just comes through 2d on windows 10 now. and 2nd: does anyone have a better solution? how can I fix / re-align the avatar glow effect. it's annoying. ok thanks!

I doubt anyone here plays that game anymore, I played it religiously for 8 years before I ever had a 3d monitor, I do always contemplate reinstalling to see how it looks in 3d, but that would be a pain.

pointless off topic response to my post. and yes, a ton of people play ffxi here. search ffxi up on the top right there, it's like half the results. ffxi just came out with an expansion--seeker's of adoulin--and has an upcoming 3 part expansion--rhapsodies of vana'diel. and the new artifact/relic/empyrean gear reforging is awesome. it is beautiful. I also play xiv, which is also amazing. but yes back on topic: NVidia please make ffxi pol work in 3d in windows 10. thanks!

and it does look absolutely spectacular in 3d. makes even crafting fun lol. xiv does too btw. I use tridef in power3d mode for that one cuz the default and 3dvision makes the shadow depth look like trash.

This is what I tried 1. select "Final Fantasy XI official Benchmark 3" in inspector 2. clicked add application to current profile 3. browsed to POL viewer .exe got error "This application executable is already assigned to the follow profiles: All Play-On-line Games

You can add screen shots to any of your posts, by using the paperclip icon in the top right. It supports jps files. If you want to improve the quality of the snapshots from the low budget default of 50% jpeg compression, you can edit the registry key to set it higher. I use 85%. Bloody explains it quite well here http://3dvision-blog.com/2343-how-to-get-better-quality-stereoscopic-3d-screenshots-with-3d-vision/ I haven't used it, but I'm pretty sure the app that Eincrou made allows you to adjust the screenshot quality. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/827162/?comment=4518708
