Why does the setup manual only require standard speed HDMI cables for 3DTV Play instead of High Speed HDMI cables which are normally reqquired when using HDMI 1.4a frame packing formats? See:

Hey folks...

i am from Germany and i need your help. I have a new HTPC. This one is connected with an HDMI 1.4 Cabel to my Samsung PS50C690 3D Plasma HDTV. I have a MSI GeForce 450 GTS Graphiccard (Driver 259.xx), Windows 7 and i use PowerDVD 10 Mark II Build 2213. My question is: which equipment do i need für playing 3D Blu Rays on my Samsung 3D TV ?

Do i need the 3DTV Play Software ? Or do i need only the newest nVidia Graphiccard Driver 260.99 ? Then in this Article from nVidia (here http://pressroom.nvidia.com/easyir/customr...sp=release_157) i found tihs words:

(2) Blu-ray 3D DVD movie and HD audio playback do not require 3DTV Play; capabilities are available on HDMI 1.4-enabled GeForce GPUs with the latest NVIDIA desktop and notebook drivers and compatible third-party movie player software, such as CyberLink PowerDVD 10 MKII. Please refer to the 3D Vision System Requirements for list of HDMI 1.4 enabled NVIDIA GPUs and compatible third-party movie players.

I sholud say, that i have 3D glasses - this are include by my TV. I have no 3D Vision Kit.

I didnt try the newest nVidia Graphiccard Driver, then i first asking you about this.

Please help me, then i will watch 3D BRs on my TV.

THANK YOU !!!

Hi

If you want to simply watch Blu-ray 3D movies, you do not need 3DTV Play software. You need the compatible players from Cyberlink, Arcosft, etc.

If you want to play games, look at pictures, or use our NVIDIA 3D Video player, that does requires 3DTV Play software.

I don't see the Samsung 3D Plasma HDTVs (e.g. PS50C6970) in the 3DTV Play compatibility list.

There is no technical reason I can see why they should not be supported.

So is the compatibility list just outdated or do these HDTVs really not work with 3DTV Play?
