3D Vision 3 wHEN?

Yeah they actually partially implemented 3D Vision into the Oculus, may still be true. The only problem is it did everything but make the game 3D. Wasn't bad for an easy private, high refresh rate 2D monitor for just about any game though. That's kind of what this current conversation was about. How with the rebranding of their VR initiative, 3D Vision to VR has been completely axed. Bo3b said Nvidia never promised it and we were merely speculating it would happen. I just wanted to find some left over evidence that Nvidia actually did promise it and was called Auto Stereo. The UK site is just the one that still has details on this seemingly abandoned step child. No one's disputing Gameworks VR. Just pointing out that Auto Stereo has been taken out back and shot.

Here is the original link, from the launch of 980/970: http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/maxwell-architecture-gtx-980-970 I guess the wording is open for interpretation, but my interpretation was that "Auto Stereo" would only work on "3D Vision-compatible games", which would be 3D Vision Ready games. So, I was only expecting a handful of games, as the rest have anomalies that ruin the experience. Maybe those are still "3D Vision compatible." I stand corrected though, they were/are definitely saying it would convert a 3D Vision experience to VR, which seems to be lost in the change to "GameWorks VR". Thanks for the links.

These guys can't even support or write proper drivers for surround now nor have they ever been able to. What makes you think 3DV3 or VR will be any better? Those technologies are simply beyond the capabilities of nvidia to implement and support atm and for the foreseeable future imo. They will try I'm sure and it will end up frustrating them and their customers like 3DVS does now for customers like me and many others. VR is a major leap beyond what they already can't do.

Dayum. What... what if I dont need that VR helmet? I love games that I see who I'm playing as. I just need to see surrounding that exist around my character in 3D. In a good 3D. But I don't want to play games where all I can see of myself are lowpoly hands. Guh... I dont think someone will understand how I feel.
