Starcraft 2 fps problem I get exactly 30 fps no matter what settings using 3d vision
When I run starcraft 2 without 3d vision I get 60-70 fps. But with 3d vision I get exactly 30 fps all the time no matter what settings I use. Anyone got a fix or even a possible reason for this?

Thanks

Enabling 3d vision forcibly enables vsync.
So if it's running at <60 fps with 3D vision enabled you'll see 30fps.

Hello mate

I have just checked and my FPSs are variable - ranging from 33 to low 50s. I have tried this with v-sync off and on and with reduce mouse lag off and on: all variable FPSs.

Is your mouse 3D?

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Strange that it's exact but getting half the frame rate in 3D is normal for GPU-bound games.

It not only is exact, is exactly constant it sits pegged at 30 no dips no rises. Well I take that back when it first starts or after Ive changed settings or something the fps is actually like 6 then jumps to about 15 then to 30, all of that takes about 30 seconds, which seams long, but once it hits 30 it stays there no matter how big the battle.

Oh and andy I guess the mouse is 3d, I thought about trying to change that but couldn't figure out how. How can I change it?

Oh and yes I have tried toggling vsynch even tried to force it off in nvidias panel, but didnt change anything, oh and yeah I have tried toggling the reduce mouse option in game.

The really weird thing for me is that it stays at 30 fps no matter the settings even with all settings on low, unless I drop the resolution down to 1024x768 or something ridiculous like that.

Thanks for the responses

I believe 30fps is related to v-sync and buffering. I was experiencing something similiar in 3D vision and it was because of some bad settings in the nvidia control panel.

Try this ...

In nvidia control panel --> Manage 3D settings --> global settings
Triple Buffering = on
Maximum pre-rendered frames = 3
Prefer maximum performance
Threaded optimization = on

Also, I recommend to disable the 3D Laser Sight.
Set up stereoscopic 3D --> Change 3D Laset Sight
