3D Blu Ray Disc
  1 / 9
hi all

has anyone came across the file structure of a 3d blu ray disc yet? there appears to be an additional folder in it called SSIF with a list of .SSIF files in it. I've done a bit of digging and i've found out that these are the Stereoscopic Interleaved files but i'm wondering if anyone has managed to extract/convert these yet?

Thanks!

Someone evidently did and managed to rip some footage from MvA but no one knows how:

Yes I also have a copy of this but i'm not sure how to extract the Interlaced 3D content, once I figure this out I will post it as a mkv file.

Yes it can but not 1080p when i watch something converted into 3D for some reason!!!! 720p works fine.

Maybe 1080p would work fine also as long as its not being converted to 3D on the fly.

ok... heres where i'm at. I've attached what I believe is the important parts of the file structure of MvsA below. It looks like there isn't an SSIF files for every M2TS file. I'm guessing that this means the numbers which do have a corresponding SSIF file are the 3d parts of the disc (main movie, trailers etc). The SSIF file contains the data for the opposite eye which is played along side the corresponding M2TS file ie. All the M2TS files appear to contain only 2D content which would seem right as the corresponding SSIF file is roughly the same size. I'm guessing that the M2TS file is for instance the left eye portion of the 3D film as well as being the 2D movie, when 3d is then selected the SSIF file is then interleaved as the right eye portion.

So... any ideas where I would go from here to extract the combined/seperate streams?

Thanks!

I tried this earlier but no joy. I made the ISO using IMGBurn and mouted as a Blu Ray using BDDecrypter but PowerDVD 10 doesn't recognise it as a supported format! Also tried VLC, MPCHC and nero to play but still same prob. I'm guessing maybe these programs can't support 3D Blu Ray? I know PowerDVD can convert to 3D on the fly but maybe not play a 3DBD?

Thanks!

yip, I have MakeMKV which is normally ideal for BD to MKV but the prob is it's only picking up the M2TS files ie the 2D content. It won't rip the SSIF files along side it... argghhhh!!!

seems like it! the closest i've came to finding out anything about it was here http://www.aacsla.com/specifications/AACS_...Final_0.951.pdf and that desn't really explain much!

Surely someone somewhere has managed to figure this one out!

EDIT

Having re-read that file, this sounds interesting and may lend a hand to figuring out the file system!
