Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition - GFWL has been...

finally flushed down the toilet which is a reason to celebrate. One trade off though, the 3D Fix is now broken :(
It still looks pretty good in 3D, but the water is borked for sure and oil flasks on explosions don't look right anymore.
The DSFix does have some new problems though and there is a temporary fix and you cannot unlock the frame rate. Also, there are issues with DSMFix which does not work anymore.
You can find information on the temporary fixes here, but the kb + m has issues for me.

Real shame because this game can look so good in 3D when working properly. Can anyone else confirm or deny this on the new patch migrated to steam. I just want to make sure it's not me....lol

There's a new DSFix here, which allows for the framerate unlock.

For the 3D fix, there are only 23 shaders. It's probably just a matter of finding the new CRCs.
If it was and if someone had a set of unedited 'Source' Shaders ... I know not many people bother with keeping or making Source Dumps, but they could have given my updating utility a shot.

Thanks for your replies guys. I have fixed the 3D issues with the water by simply deleting and then adding the "darksouls.exe" to the AION profile using Nvidia Inspector. Everything looks fantastic now. Hopefully this helps someone else if you run into any 3D issues. With above steps, I can now confirm that Helix's 3D fix is working.

And seeing PS4 videos... they've killed specular reflections, so textures look worse. Similar to the Bioshick remaster. I don't know if I'm going to get the new version, after spending more than 200 hours in the original.

Digital Foundry did a comparison to answer your question and look like the Remastered version is better than the old, shitty version released by From Software. Blight Town is very nice and smooth now.

Yes. It's the most CPU demanding zone of the game, but any current CPU at more than 4GHz can handle it perfectly. When I had the i5 4670K at 4.3GHz, it was sometimes at 55-58fps if I tried to look at the whole area from a corner at the bottom.

Yep,can't say I had any issues in blighttown at all. and I agree with you Masterotaku, it actually looks worse. i'll keep the old version in perfect 3dvision that i can play at 60fps anyway, thanks...

Amazingly (judging by the up until the Undead Burg bonfire) if you turn ambient occlusion off, this remastered edition seems to work almost perfectly in 3dvision out of the box. Fog gates, unkindled bonfires and the full screen effect when you sit at a bonfire render at wrong depth - but that is all I have noticed. Shadows and fog seem fine.
