nice update paul, you're so productive ! The Donate button is a good idea i thought about one thing, you could add maybe in ABOUT a list, a special page where there are all shaderhackers with their nickname and a Donate button (or patreon) infos, with the different fixes they released (with dates) what do you think about that ? (it's a huge work i know)

Hi greatxerox,

such a list would be actually a nice overview - also showing how crazy this community is ;). By now there are approximately 550 3d fixes (or more?). An amazing number!

An easy way to send donations would be also useful (just by clicking a button) for the shader hackers. I saw that there are basically three ways to send donations via PayPal:

 1. You can create a donation website via PayPal. The advantage of this is that you just have to type in the amount you want to donate and you're done. Donations are send to the account with the given email adress (no real name is shown of the person who receives the money). The disadvantage of this is that PayPal always wants to have a fee for transfers (even if the person who sends the money is in the same country)

 2. Another possibility is to create a paypal.me domain. This is basically the same as sending money to a friend however the disadvantage is that your anonymity is gone (real name and adress is shown as soon as you click on the paypal.me link)

 3. Old school way: login into paypal, click on 'send money'. Type in email adress. I've chosen this way but linked the send money sub-page directly in 3D Fix Manager. Disadvantage is that you have to type in the email adress yourself.

So the easiest way for sending donations would actually be option 1 or 2. Shader hackers could create a donate website or paypal.me domain if they feel comfortable with it and I could add these links to 3D Fix Manager.

What do the shader hackers think about it?

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to give a quick update. After having been a little bit limited in time the last weeks I've finally started working on version 1.24.

Here are the features which I want to implement or finished implementing:

 • mapping of OEM hotkey to actual character on the keyboard. Formerly if you did press key "]" (for example) on your (english) keyboard for creating a convergence hotkey 3D Fix Manager showed this hotkey as OEM_[number] because the actual character of this key is dependent on your language / keyboard layout. I've mapped this to the user's keyboard layout by now - so this is much more intuitive now when you see the character instead of some OEM label

 • some hotkeys did not work for 3dmigoto because 3D Fix Manager did not set the correct virtual key code. I fixed that by now

 • Automatic depth hack: this will be useful if you're playing on a beamer and want to have more 3D depth (still to do)

 • More Nvidia settings. I want that the user can set more things like shutter frequency of 3D vision glasses (100hz, 120hz -> setting this to 100hz is sometimes useful when your graphics card is only strong enough to produce 100 fps in a game instead of 120 fps), general 3d depth, and hotkeys like Eincrou did in his tool

 • Maybe an export function will also come which will restore the Nvidia Control Panel settings for 3D Vision after updating the driver

Status update: I've implemented most of the things you can change in "Nvidia Control Panel / Stereoscopic 3D" in 3D Fix Manager. It's similar to Eincrou's Tool where you can already set those things like stereosopic hotkeys. However in 3D Fix Manager it's a little bit easier because you don't have to look in tables to get the hex code of a key combination. 3D Fix Manager makes all the things for you and it behaves the same way as setting hotkeys and other stereoscopic things in Nvidia Control Panel. Currently I'm adding an import / export feature for saving / restoring registry settings / Nvidia Control Panel settings. Those settings should then be automatically restored if you update your graphics driver. Just wanted to let you know :). Still have to implement some things for version 1.24 - but release should be soon.

I'm having a difficult time using this program. I tried reading the website's guide. 1) I'd like to be able to use the extra depth "hack" from this tool so that I don't have to manually go into the Windows registry and adjust the screen size option. 2) I'd like to use the hotkeys but the hotkeys don't tell me any commands I can use them for (eg. increase/decrease convergence, toggle xxxx, etc.). Instead, I only have two keys I can select: x and y. And it can only be used for three things, cycle, hold, toggle? I don't get it. How do I set hotkeys for different functions/features?? 3) What is an x, y, w, z constant in the 3D presets? What does that mean/do? 4) What are the "default values of constant" x, y, z, w? What do these mean/do? 5) What is the cosine and linear transition thing? It says it can enable or disable an animation for different presets. What animation is it talking about? Presets for what? 6) If I click on convergence, I can enter in anything in the box beside it but if I hover my mouse over it, it says to "set convergence as a float value" What's a float value? What does that mean/do? 7) The "Auto enable / disable 3D fixes by Nvidia Stereo 3D state" option stated in the online guide is not in the settings tab as far as I can see but the guide states it is. 8) The program found no games on my drive but when I enabled search paths, selected my steam directory, then clicked "Search Games," Assetto Corsa showed up but Project Cars didn't yet they both have profiles on the helixmod website and they're both in the Steam directory I pointed to 9) After clicking "Search Games," a few (but not all) games showed up that aren't on the helix site: iRacing, rFactor 2, GT Legends. Each of those games give me the option to install something called a "wrapper" and there are 2 different versions I can select: "HelixMod" and "3dmigoto." What do those mean? What's the difference between the two? How do they enhance these games? Help would be much appreciated.
[.]More Nvidia settings. Hi Spinelli1,
1) I'd like to be able to use the extra depth "hack" from this tool so that I don't have to manually go into the Windows registry and adjust the screen size option.
This is a feature which will come in the next update (version 1.24). I've completed implementing the depth hack today and it works flawless on my machine so far. Version 1.24 will roll out probably next week.
Constants are used for different things like switching off a graphical effect in a game or pushing HUD to depth. In most cases you have to read the description of the individual fix to know what they serve to and which constants can be used. Generally all available constants are already bount to a hotkey so you don't have to add them by yourself. The author of the fix already did this for you. More important is to change convergence and 3D depth by a hotkey. For creating a hotkey please read the manual. Or here is a short description to create a hotkey for toggling between two different 3d depths: 1. Click on button "New Hotkey" 2. Left-click in the field "Edit key binding". Now press an arbritrary key on your keyboard. Your hotkey is bount to this key then 3. Set Key type to "cycle" 4. Click on the checkbox "3D - Depth". Set this to 80 for example 5. Click on the button "New preset". A new preset "Preset 2" appears 6. Click on the checkbox "3D - Depth" of Preset 2. Set this to 20 for example 7. Click on "Save" Now when you start the game and press the hotkey 3D depth will toggle between depth 20 and 80. Key type is set to cycle because it will jump to the next value everytime you press the button and begins again when you reach the last value. If you would create a third depth- preset with a 3d depth value of 100 it would cycle the values: 20 - 80- 100- 20 - 80 - 100... everytime you press the button. If you would set key type to "hold" this means that depth 20 is active as long as the key is held down and changed to 80 when you release the button. For changing convergence with your created hotkey click on checkbox "Convergence" and enter a number. If you untick the box this means that the entry in the ini file shall be removed when you click on save.
3) What is an x, y, w, z constant in the 3D presets? What does that mean/do?
See Answer to 2.
4) What are the "default values of constant" x, y, z, w? What do these mean/do?
Default value means that you don't need a hotkey for setting them. They are already set to a value when starting a game and they control different things which vary from fix to fix - But of course you can create a hotkey for changing them while gaming. Often you don't have to modify as it is already well configured.
5) What is the cosine and linear transition thing? It says it can enable or disable an animation for different presets. What animation is it talking about? Presets for what?
Let's assume that you created a hotkey like in Question 2). When you press this button in game and set transition to "linear" 3D depth will not suddenly jump between depth 20 and 80. It will "fade" smoothly over time. When you set it to "cosine" those 2 values will be interpolated by a cosine-curve. First it slowly fades, then faster and to the ending of the "animation" slowlier again. Only a subtle difference to "linear".
6) If I click on convergence, I can enter in anything in the box beside it but if I hover my mouse over it, it says to "set convergence as a float value" What's a float value? What does that mean/do?
A float value is a number with a dot like 30.6 for example. It does not matter if you enter a comma like in germany or a dot like in USA. High convergence in general produce toyification in games and 3D looks much better in my opinion.
7) The "Auto enable / disable 3D fixes by Nvidia Stereo 3D state" option stated in the online guide is not in the settings tab as far as I can see but the guide states it is.
Sorry the manual is not up to date any more. Still have to update it xD. 3D Fixes are automatically disabled / enabled when you click on "Play 2D" or "Play 3D".
8) The program found no games on my drive but when I enabled search paths, selected my steam directory, then clicked "Search Games," Assetto Corsa showed up but Project Cars didn't yet they both have profiles on the helixmod website and they're both in the Steam directory I pointed to
The reason it found no games is because the Window Registry does not know that you installed these games. Some other users reported that their games could also not be found and the reason always was that they reinstalled Windows but not Steam or their games. They did let Steam auto-detect their games but Steam does not create Registry entries for them. If you redownload and reinstall your games you will see that your Steam games will be detected by 3D Fix Manager (because Steam creates registry entries then) Using "Search games" looks if a directory exists in your Steam folder which has the same name as the name of the fix profile. Usually this should work if names match - don't know what goes wrong with project cars in your case. Try setting Search depth to 3 and see if results are better.
9) After clicking "Search Games," a few (but not all) games showed up that aren't on the helix site: iRacing, rFactor 2, GT Legends. Each of those games give me the option to install something called a "wrapper" and there are 2 different versions I can select: "HelixMod" and "3dmigoto." What do those mean? What's the difference between the two? How do they enhance these games?
3D Fix Manager supports detecting some games where there is no 3D fix available. For these games you have the option to install a wrapper: either 3Dmigoto or helixmod. 3dmigoto will only work for DirectX 11 games. HelixMod only for DirectX 9. In general both wrappers provide the ability to create depth / convergence hotkeys like I described in Question 2). 3Dmigoto also unlocks other features like SideBySide support for TVs and projectors and compatibility mode. For example before Outlast 2 had a 3D fix you could unlock "Compatiblity mode" with 3D Fix Manager and 3dmigoto where you could play in fake 3D at least. Let me know if there are any open questions. I definitely have to update the manual sometime :)

Using "Search games" looks if a directory exists in your Steam folder which has the same name as the name of the fix profile.

What is this disc under your table? Can you play in 60 fps with 2x Titan X Pascal + 3D Surround?
Wow cool stuff :). Really like it. What is this disc under your table? Can you play in 60 fps with 2x Titan X Pascal + 3D Surround?
the disc is the 3DRudder, which permits to move only with feets. it's not only for VR games but for all games on PC. it can be used as a pad, keyboard, HOTAS or mouse. look at the dashboard : and the site : https://www.3drudder.com/ there are some videos. it's developped by a french start-up. The VR Unleashed mode makes it possible to deceive the position of the VR headset, which allows to leave the areas planned by the developers and to go outside the game area and "fly" almost anywhere in the VR games, it's funny. For 3DSurround, i reach 40/45 FPS on GTAV using 2x (7680 x 1440p) if i deactivated AA. Drivers don't permit to select more than MSAA x2 , or AA x2 for example, with this resolution. Same thing with THE FOREST, one Titan = 20 fps / SLI Titan = 45 FPS , the SLI is very efficient for 3DSurround !! 3DSurround is very demanding. For example, on Far cry 4, it's not very playable, i needed to put 4096 x 768, but i could put AA, all effects to max, so the game is beautiful and fluid. For XCOM 2, the game is too slow if i put all details to max, but it's very beautiful, i didn't tried a lower resolution. F1 2016 = 40/45 fps but NOT for Monaco championship, because it's in the town. :) But for games with closed environments, like Alien Isolation, SOMA, Outlast, it's PERFECT. The open world games are very demanding now because there are a lot of details. I noticed than all games older than 2 years work perfectly because They are slightly less graphically pushed. Special mention for SONIC GENERATIONS which is wonderful using 3DSurround thanks to the tool from Helifax & Hayden. (flawless Widescreen) If i deactivate 3DSurround, and play using Surround only (Tri screen), all games works perfectly with full details. And for VR GAMES, i set Supersampling to 2, so VR games are nice to play :) even with the low resolution of the Vive. :) New video : :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ve6d2MvRA_s

Version 1.24 is out!

Change Notes version 1.24

 • New: 3D Fix Manager automatically starts with admin rights
 • New: OEM Keys are mapped to the language dependent keyboard layout. So the actual character for the hotkey is shown instead of something like OEM_Number
 • New: Two additional mouse buttons (forward and backward buttons) can be set as hotkey
 • New: Added Nvidia 3D Settings tab where you can easily control all the things which are also available in Nvidia Control Panel
 • New: Depth hack by simply setting a multiplier value. Based on your current monitor size you can exceed maximum 3d depth
 • New: Save your Nvidia 3D settings (like hotkeys and more) in a profile file
 • New: Restore Nvidia 3D settings by loading a profile
 • New: RivaTuner Statistics Server can be automatically closed when quitting 3D Fix Manager
 • Changed: Updated 3dmigoto files to version 1.2.63
 • Changed: Skipping 3D Vision Setup wizard uses C# code now instead of executing a batch file
 • Changed: Minor improvements for GUI
 • Changed: Improved internal organization of program code
 • Bugfix: Some 3dmigoto hotkeys did not work when assigning them to OEM keys because Virtual Key name was wrong

I tried enabling depth hack to see if I could change something in MWO but no. Sometimes I wish I could have a little more depth but there is no control in game and CTRL-F3/F4 do nothing.

3D Vision must live! NVIDIA, don't let us down!

So your hotkeys won't do anything. But there seems to be a command for changing 3D Depth:
It is instead r_StereoEyeDist that controls the depth. I found on my 23" monitor that setting this to about 0.05 (maximum separation of the two pictures of 5% of the screen width) gave a setting closer to what we'd normally think of as 100% depth in Nvidia 3D Vision land.
