I just installed the TV tonight, and have the glasses kit from NVidia. I understand that this may be the wrong forum to post in, but have not found any other posts about it, Google searches came up dry, and mistubishi doesn't have a forum of its own. I'd call their support after confirming that no one here has had experience with this:
During one step of the 3d Vision wizard, there's a message that the Firmware needs an update, and has detailed instructions on how it's done.
I have:
Downloaded the most current CD of 3dview, including the graphics driver (1.04)
After uninstalling the NVidia graphics drivers, installed the one that came with the downloaded CD.
Installed the 3d Vision software.
Copied the files *under the TVFirmware folder to the root of my USB key. It's a 256 MB PNY. So if you browse to the root of it, you'll see the folder UI, params.ini, startup1.sh, 5 files starting with V39..., and vxWorks.
I've gone through the steps for the update:
1. Power off then Unplug TV
2. Plug USB into slot on front of TV
3. Plug in, but do not power on the TV
4. Waited for the flashing power light to stop flashing (in another test, waited for 5 minutes after this stopped)
5. Powered on with TV's remote.
6. Pressed Menu, then the numbers 1,2,3
7. Saw the "Confirm Initialize/Reset" message come up, then pressed Enter.
8. Waited for the reset process to finish
Each of my tests produced the same result: the "Next" button on the Wizard never lit up, and clicking it did not continue with the Wizard.
After each test like this, I've restarted the Wizard, but the same result happened, even when re-enabling the 3d view in the TV's setup.
Since the Wizard claims that the firmware is the problem, does anyone know if I got the process to update it wrong, and if I need to reformat the drive to FAT32 instead?. I'm stumped at the moment.
-PC has 3 way GTX 280s, TV is plugged into the transmitter via the 3 pin 3d Synch cable, the transmitter is plugged into the PC via USB cable, and just in case, Glasses are plugged in via USB also.
Let me know if any more detail is needed and I'll gladly supply it.
P.S. saw the activity light flashing on the USB drive on step 4

Hi There,
Thanks for posting, that firmware update can be a bit tricky so let me give you a few pointers on it. Just in case anyone else is reading this, the reason the firmware update is necessary is that the DLPs need this patch to fix an issue where they would reverse the eye polarity for no reason. Most newer models do not have this issue.
- First yes indeed do reformat your USB drive to FAT32. Also, you may want to try a different USB stick. I found that "fast" USB drives didn't work in my lab and I had to resort to an older slower USB stick that worked fine. We dont have a good sense of what the limiting factor is there, so if you can drive a different USB driver please do
- Next make sure you have copied all contents to the root folder of the USB flash drive.
- Can you also list your Mitsubishi TV model number here.
- Finally here's a way to also confirm if the firmware update occured. When you press menu on the remote you should see the firmware version in the lower right hand corner of the Mitsubishi on-screen menu. Note those versions before and after you update to see if the update occured.
Please post your results, I'd love to help you get it working.

Yes, formatting to FAT32 did the trick. I should have known that the TV didn't have a user name to access the drive with :).
The wizard passed that firmware check, but to get it working afterwards, i needed to disable Resize Desktop. Is this planned to be improved sometime? I like the edges of my screen and the NVidia Scaler is greyed out too.
