ViewSonic VX2268wm - huge interlacing Huge interlacing appears in 3D mode Active
Hello!
week ago i bought monitor ViewSonic VX2268wm and found 1 strange thing
if switch off 3d stereoscopic feature in nvidia control panel, all games starts in DVI mode with 60-120 herz refreshing depending on sets in display parameters in nvidia control panel. everything looks fine
but if 3d stereoscopic feature is on in nvidia control panel and resolution set to native (1680x1050) in games after launching any game 3D mode automaticaly switchs on instead of DVI mode and picture on the screen have some differences from the picture i have if DVI mode is active. upper-right and lower-left sides of screen have huge interlacing if compare with another sides of the screen (for exanple, center of the screen).
i tryed change cable, drivers, different games, refresh rate in 3d wizzard - this actions changed nothing
i begin think i have diffective monitor
have anyone troubles like this when using 3d mode on the monitor??

Yes, I see the same effect with the same monitor. I don't think it's a fault, I think it's just the way the monitor works when it's in the low response time mode that it needs for the 3D effect to work.

A little while ago I started playing Dragon Age on my older Westinghouse 22" montior and I noticed that every other line was black and I thought that was odd for an LCD monitor. I chalked it up to the game and then went for the Viewsonic monitor/3D Vision set-up and still saw black horizontal lines at every other line. Again, while I thought it was odd since I saw it on my old Westinghouse, I figure maybe it's something that I hadn't noticed before.

With that being said, I'm typing this at work with a laptop monitor and a desktop LCD, both DELL and I don't see any horizontal lines at all. SO, the question is, is this an effect of 3d gaming as is old school 3d or is it 3D Vision gaming? I'll check tonight to see if my old monitor and if the Viewsonic has black lines on the Windows Desktop.

you will not get black lines on desktop. only in games if 3d mode active

I also get the fine horizontal lines if 3d mode is active. I don't mind much, but how do you disable 3d Mode if it doesn't automatically when the game shuts down? I found this thread because I was googling for an answer. I have the lines on my desktop just now.

You can also sign me up to the group who have sync issues with the very top and bottom of the screen in 3d mode when viewing with the glasses. Causes light to bleed through from the wrong channels so I get ghosting. It's not unplayable, just annoying that it's there.

After exiting a 3D application if you still see interlacing run Test Wizard from Nvidia Control Panel for few seconds and then exit...and you should have your screen back to normal without interlacing visible

to avoid 3d mode switching on, simply turn off stereoscopic in nvidia control panel (if yuo play games without goggles of cours)
you CANNOT avoid ghost effects in top and bottom of the screen. this is know issue that cannot be fixed at all. you may low this down by switching to lower refresh rate (100 instead of 120)

I just purchaced this monitor with 3d glasses as a bundle, prior to purchace I couldn't find any mention of this fault, but I can confirm that mine has terrible interlacing with thin horizontal lines and Thicker yellow tinted Vertical lines at set intervals, this is visable across the whole screen though much more prominant at the bottom left and top right corners, If anyone has had any experience dealing with Viewsonic for RMA/returns or knows of a fix to this issue I'd really appreciate some information.

For Viewsonic to sell a monitor that has extreme visual errors across the screen when 3d mode is enabled really makes a huge black mark over there company name for any future purchaces.

Are you guys trying to play in 3d mode without the glasses?

What happens if you put the glasses on?

I've never had any problems with this monitor. Now you've got me curious.
