HAHA brilliant. Nice one Dman. A lot of those replies by him were aimed at me, that guy was either grade A crazy or a grade A+ Troll. Either way, funny thread... although at first I, like SnickerSnack, thought with dread that he had returned! It really does look like Xboxone is dead in the water right now without back peddling though.. PS4 V Xbox €399 vs €499 = Xbox is 25% More expensive (and how many familys can justify €500 for a gaming console? No online VS Required online check in (hourly on non main console) Game sales allowed VS Game sales allowed only once or via registered shops Games can be lent to friends VS games can not be lend to friends (can be given, but only one time) 20-40% more power (on paper) vs a lesser specced machine. So for me... MS has literally no chance to succeed unless they give on many of their points, especially outside of the US.

It actually came together better than I had envisioned. I was a little worried that you might take offense, but none was intended. I'm happy to see that you found it funny...sorry for the scare:P

I honestly think PS4 has great potential this gen over new xbox. Its def. appealing to pc designers which should insofacto result in more games of pc/ps4. Microsoft really blew it with indie developers and sony has been great. Its really good that they are making games more compliant with designing for PS4 while at same time easily developed on PC. Development of games requires more time/ resources then ever so multiplatform is the only way I can see games survive going forward [unless exclusive deals]

Hopefully this translates into less exclusive titles, simultaneous platform releases and no more crappy ports. Nothing like waiting a year for a game to finally reach the PC, only to find out that it was a poorly implemented cash grab.

Microsoft may well backtrack on some of their policies in light of the Sony announcement, but I think it will come down to content and the price of games at the end of the day. Also, if the new Kinect does even what the original Kinect is supposed to do, then I still think it has the potential to be a game changer. You say how many families can justify 500 for a games machine, but how many can justify 400 for a games machine? The online check doesn't bother me in the least, I personally don't see what the fuss is about. Some people still call Steam DRM. I'd be surprised if the difference in spec makes much if any difference, as developers tend to aim for the lowest common denominator. Anyway, good on Sony for doing this, I hope MS respond and we all benefit from the healthy competition. I'll probably buy one or the other at some point but hopefully this will boost pc games anyway :-)

[s]I'm[/s] I was a huge fan of Xbox but I feel like ever since Microsoft desperately tried grabbing a slice of Nintendo's Casual Waggle pie they've been fumbling ever since. They ruined the dashboard, they didn't streamline anything, instead made it far more complicated for the sake of 'pretty' thumbnails of sh=t no one cares about and ADs. Kinect for the most part is a joke, again making things far more complicated than need be just for the sake of using your body instead of tapping A. Sony got caught up in it too, and both of them failed as far as I'm concerned. I have Wii, Move and Kinect, and the Wii had the best FPS controls by a long shot ... but no hardware ... and no games. No Doom III, no Condemned, no Call of Cthulhu ... it could have at least handled older Xbox FPSs ... and now that the Wii U has the power and the controls, they had to go and throw another controller into the mix and divide support for the gamepad innovation with good FPS controls. Zombi U for instance, single player can only be played with the gamepad which isn't nearly as good for FPSs, yet the multiplayer can be played with a Wii Remote Nunchuk combo, which is excellent ... but playing MP ruins the SP campaign really fast, because you see just how good it is ... sheesh. I think I just started a rant and didn't even realize it! [/rant] :)
I think Titanfall looked like the most fun.
You know, really thinking about Titanfall ... in 3D has me wondering if it worked how it would work when inside the Titan, the cockpit view is all screens afterall ... part of me would want the claustrophobic 'feel' of 2D on the screens but another part of me would want them in 3D ... but just not nearly as good and clear as the 3D outside of the Titan. I really want it to look like I'm looking at screens either way, like I'm inside something shut off from the outside and these screens are my only window out.

<Looks at titanfall. Damn, Im not into online games but Im jealous... its not dumbed down... Not only that... Its got better then any single player game as far mechanics in a FPS. Good solid game with parkour from mirror's edge/jetpacks from tribes + new stuff... sounds fun... you lucky bastards. Helifax/Surround users must be pissed. Titans would look sick in surround

If only it was a Stereoscopic exclusive title as well.... Then we could belittle gamers posting they'd like it to be in 2D also :P

Titans would look sick in surround
Yes TITANFALL really peeked my Interest. I am Really sorry its a Xbox One Exclusive. Can you image how that would look in 3D on a PC. In terms of Price everyone is saying Sony is undercutting MS, but I doubt the PS4 will come with the Camera or whatever it is as an essential part of the console like the Kinect is part of the Xbox One. That means after I get the PS4 console I still need to add maybe 100 or so more to get the added accessories. Its these little things that people don't mention. The Good thing is the choice though. That choice is missing on the Xbox One. Not sure what is wrong with the Kinect.. it's different way to control, similar to the fact we have game controllers, mouse and keyboard, joysticks/flight sticks and steering wheel set ups for the PC, what is wrong with motion controls. I for one am fed up of the old mouse and keyboard for everything, and game pads are nice but I want something new. I like the idea of motion controls and I hope that it grows. Again Choices.

There's the Leap releasing soon for $79. While it still only has minimal gaming capabilities, it's 100 times more sensitive than the Kinect. Once it releases and more software is developed for it, it might turn into your go to controller for certain games. The awesome thing is that you can turn a projector screen, into a touch screen :P https://www.leapmotion.com/apps http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssZrkXGE8ZA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWDUFB-_KVo
