A checkbox or gamespecific option would be nice for this feature. Perhaps for older games with problems that haven't been fixed by the community. Plus the ability to switch it off, when a fix comes out for a game with problems, so we can use true dual camera 3d. Sound good? I dunno, I'm just a gamer who wants the best possible 3d experience I can have with the hardware I own.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist(DX11) is also playable. Those text issues don`t bother me yet. Overally is good. Nice sense of depth and enviroment without weird effects.

It was nice at first to not to be bombarded by bad shadows and lighting effects all up in my face when firing up these games with their new profiles, but after playing for a few min it became clear that this pseudo-3d (like tridef power3d) just won't cut it for us 3d vision junkies. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled that Nvidia is finally giving 3d vision some attention, and I'd rather play these games like this than in 2d, but after seeing what is possible when 3d is done right (or fixed properly) this mode pales in comparison. It looks better on my dlp projector than on my monitor but it still seems like the resolution is being cut down, ie: trees and foliage look very rough around the edges in the games I tested (specifically hitman and ac4) and leave me feeling like I'm playing a game in bullshit 3d mode on a ps3 in half res. Thanks for trying though, Nvidia. Hopefully this is a start of better communications between us 3d enthusiasts and Nvidia, and maybe a little down the line we can get what we really deserve - a built in shader debugger!
Steve - can you please share any more information on what this new feature is doing behind the scenes?
This is great feedback - thanks. All I can say at this time is that the new profile support is using proprietary technology developed by NVIDIA with the goal to improve the 3D experience for popular titles that either did not work with 3D Vision at all, or had poor ratings. This is our first public release of the technology and we welcome the community's input.
i would like to say thanks for this effort to Nvidia, and support Wozman420 in the thinking that 3D vision user´s really deserve a built in shader debugger
I think of a lot of people feel the same way, if Nvidia can´t fix the problem allow the community to fix it with a shader debugger

Thanks Steve K. and Nvidia for the effort.
I've tried Power3D from Tridef and of course Crysis's version of 3D and i ended up playing in 2D in those games. I don't think this is going to be very popular. Some such as myself theorize that the glut 2D -> 3D conversions in movies and low depth 3D films, which are somewhat similar to the look of Crysis/Power3D are directly responsible for the 3D backlash and the resulting decisions by companies like Visio to drop 3D completely. True 3D films are already a compromise to begin with, but some feel that if we had had only true 3D films, such as Avatar/Prometheus/Life of Pie/Tintin/Spiderman/etc that peoples outlook of 3D would be, its cool, but i just want more...instead of, "3D die already!"
Conversely, one of the reasons for the overwhelmingly positive response to the Occulus Rift is the accurate 3D. I personally think it is the main draw actually, and in part because it is also combined with a large FOV, which makes the size of the objects on the screen, more closely match the distance that the 3D effect is giving the object making it look all the more real. This btw is also why i feel Nvidia should come up with their own large, high FOV [high pixel fill factor] surround screens, because im not sure how much head movement people want to do for all day gaming sessions. Maybe oval shaped and concave or something.

Something like, Ctrl+Shift+T to turn it on/off and never force it on or rate a profile based on it ... you think with all the backlash surrounding Crysis's fake 3D the 3D Vision team would have know this wasn't a good idea to force and base profiles off of ...

Completely agree
Edit
I have just looked at SKAUT's AC4 screeny; this is leaps and bounds better than Crysis2 and 3. I would be happy to play that in 3D. Blacklist looks better too, though perhaps the convergence is a little low. Looking at those two screenies, I would say nVidia's fake 3D is far superior to Crytek's. Which is cool.

Well, i can say is better then nothing. 2D i go play on console ! But i want proper 3D support like batman , metro or witcher 2. IT IS WAY I HAVE 780 ti sli ! IF no proper 3D well it is me last nvidia. 2D i can play on ps4. And if you read forums, you will see that some guys fixing for you, plz give the all tolls they need. I don't care if 3D tv dead, or low ppl talk, but what i care is real 3D its all new dimension in gaming, i don't want put some head display like VR.

Looking at SKAUT's AC4 it looks like the scene is made up from lots of 2D 'ribbons' pushed to depth. If you look at Edward Kenway, he looks flat, almost as if his object wasn't thick enough to render at more depth.
It looks alot like the inventory paper doll of GW2. This sprite is blatenly 2D but pushed forward.

This is a good screenshot, looks very good to me, quite similar to my own DX9 fix, which I won't post lest it be confused for the nvidia solution. But I could play the game like that no problem.
@SteveK
I think this is a great addition to make some games that are currently unplayable, playable. The Blacklist image above is very good (to me). However, my view is like others here - please provide a toggle option, perhaps in the 3d game settings dialog so we can enable "virtual 3D", or whatever it's going to be branded as, in the same way we can enable fancy AO settings and so on. If the option is in there, it will be game specific and clear to people. This will then allow the community to use our own fixes in place of this technology if they become available. Secondly, as others have said, though I believe it to be a long shot, providing helix-like tools so we can do our own fixes would additionally remove a lot of the burden of support from Nvidia - there are crazy people like me who work on these fixes for fun ;-)

anybody tried chirir's nvapi to unlock this convergence? I will but for now it's horrible flat :(
If we can't push up convergence, it is the worst news we can have because no devellopper will bother with 3Dvision...

Takeing advantage of the situation that we have Nvidia`s attention i am going to be a little bit gready.
Can we expect some support with OpenGL games ?
I agree with most of the things mentioned here.
There has to be an option to turn it on/off.
Please don not rate them like real 3d games, better something like 'automatic','improved', 'zbuffer' who knows.
Right now this technique seems like a dead end. Tridef, Cryengine, Sony and many others tried this trick, it never succeeded. I highly doubt that Nvidia will get much more out of this. Still it's a nice feature to have.
In any case, I want to thank Nvidia for giving 3d some attention, but Nvidia 3d support looks like dying on hunger while a table full of food is just a few meters away. I mean, release a built in shader debugger! You have an AMAZING community that has done miracles fixing completely broken games in 3d ( check http://helixmod.blogspot.com.es/ ) for Nvidia 3d Vision. More power to them! Please let this people help you fix games, it's a big win for Nvidia with very low effort and great rewards for you. Let us do the hard work, but give us a hand first!
You have an incredible opportunity with the new g-sync monitors allowing 3d vision for many newcomers for the first time, but this is far from optimal solution. Let us help you!

Tried it in AC Black Flag.. definitely better than nothing and in some ways better than Tridef power 3d which I have been using to play Black Flag up till now. (resolution is better being able to stick with dual dvi vs tridef hdmi side by side, ghosting/ strange shadows are less on Nvidia especially at sea). I end up switching in and out of power 3d on Tridef to sail the ship vs travel on land and it seems you can stay with the Nvidia profile and not mess around as much. That said the convergence is way too low and unacceptable that it can't be increased. Tridef convergence when out of power 3d is much better. Frame rate is not a problem on my rig at least. Not decided whether I will try and finish Black Flag using Nvidia or Tridef.
Anyway like others, glad to see some Nvidia love. Just please don't stop here.
