I wish they'd be more precise.
I agree. I have nothing to substantiate this idea, but it seems crazy to assume that a retail version of W7 would no longer be usable after 30 days. They are supporting W7 for another 5 years according to Microsoft. I highly doubt that installing W10 somehow triggers a W7 self-destruct sequence. Simply reformatting and reinstalling W7 should be perfectly acceptable. But "rolling back" to W7? Yeah, it makes sense that this could not be done indefinitely. I have a 2006 laptop with a retail version of W7 on it. I started the upgrade process last night. I never use the old laptop so I have nothing to lose. Anxious to see what happens on a disposable piece of equipment before I go messing with my precious desktop PC!
Seems more clear now that this 30 day restriction is in fact for the revert option, not losing your prior license. Sorry for being paranoid, just stabbed in the back by Microsoft one too many times. Should be based on drive space, not time, but I understand they want to push people to Win10 and keep them there. There is a fly in the ointment though, so still be careful with your upgrade and only do non-essential machines until things stabilize. Numerous people are reporting that the rollback option is broken, which means that if this happens to you, you'll bork your original installation and have to do a clean install or restore from backup. Like always, Best to make a full image backup before doing anything with Win10. We definitely cannot trust the software to actually be finished at release nowadays.

Yes, while we think you will love all the features of Windows 10, you will have one month after upgrading to revert back to the previous version of Windows on your device.

Thanks.

Zero problems in Windows 10. Except for PowerDVD (I had the same problem in older Windows versions, crap Cyberlink).

Don't suppose there was an update in there was there? I had asked in the official bug I raised last week for the 3DVision issues we spoke about but as of yet I've had zero response from the call...

@Josh@NVIDIA: Josh, the Win10 drivers have a weird bug in 3D Vision. Some settings from the an NVIDIA Profile associated with a game are not working/read. This is not the case on the Win7/8 branch where the 3D Vision driver is working as before. You can clearly see it here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/858123/3d-vision/windows-10-megathread-please-keep-win10-discussions-here/post/4617866/#4617866 Is this a known bug? or should I fill one? Currently only Witcher 3 seems to be affected. This is regression in fact as drivers prior to 353.x (without the Witcher3 profile) are showing the exact same behaviour (that got fixed once Nvidia added the W3 profile). Cheers!

I have an ASUS laptop with a GeForce GTX 965m and when I try to upgrade to Windows 10 it says "the display manufacturer has not made your display compatible with Windows 10, please check with your manufacturer ". Is there a new driver I'm waiting on or what should I do? Currently updated to driver version 353.62. Thanks for the help!

I've reverted back to 7 (after extracting the W10 key). I did have an image of my Win7 installation, but didn't need it in the end, the revert worked smoothly. And Fallout New Vegas is working in 3D again :) I might have stuck with it had it not blue-screened watching a twitch stream, but for the record I didn't like the OS. The 'Get Windows 10' thing is still there btw.

I have a nvidia 550TI worked fine on Windows 8.1 but after the downgrade (upgrade) to windows 10 I have the problem where my computer randomly turns the monitors off as they aren't displaying anything then a few seconds later the computer restarts. It can happen when using the internet, or when gaming. I have the latest drivers installed but still having the problem. Is it just me? or is this a problem across the board

Upgraded my old laptop to W10, and now it's stuck in an endless crash-after-2 minutes-then-reboot cycle. .. And the start menu won't activate. I think I'm gonna hafta download an .iso with the desktop PC and do a clean install on the laptop. I know that would've been the best way to go, but I was concerned about the licensing issues.
I had the same issue with my laptop. For me it was the Killer N Wireless driver. Once I uninstalled BEFORE upgrading to win10 the problem went away. Maybe this is what you are experiencing? In your case, you can disable the WIFI from BIOS. If it boots uninstall all drivers related to wifi and then re-enable the WIFI. Maybe this helps you out;)
Sorry, didn't see your response until today. I did a clean install of W10 and it's working now. I bet you're right about the Wireless driver though. Even though W10 is now functional on my disposable laptop, I have one persistent bug remaining: It won't automatically connect to my WiFi, and in fact the troubleshooter must be ran before it will connect after each reboot. Other than that, I am actually pleased with the OS so far.

I updated to 10 last night, the nvidia 3d vision test app glitches out for me. So far that's been the only problem encountered with things that worked before for me so far.
