I've finally gotten around to buying the Samsung 2233RZ after using the 3D Vision glasses with a CRT for over a month. So far I'm quite fond of the combination since I barely notice the scanline effect and can ignore the ghosting at the top and bottom of the screen.
There is one thing, however, that really breaks my immersion: Whenever bright objects are visible on the screen, I see a strage kind of shadow around it. It doesn't really look like ghosting, especially since it also happens with bright objects on a relatively bright background. Since this shadow is at the wrong depth and oddly coloured, it really stands out and is disturbing to look at.
In some cases (for example when you look at a sun in Freelancer) it almost looks like a picture rendered at an insufficient colour depth where there are noticeable "steps" between different colours.
These shadows do not appear in 3D Vision discover mode or with my old CRT.
I've attached two screenshots from Fallout 3 where the effect is visible. It's also very noticable in the "Summer in Heidelberg" movie from the 3D Vision demo movie page, if you look at the clouds right at the beginning.

yeah, i know exactly what your talking about. I actually went into my setting thinking the colour might have changed from 32bit to 8bit but it was still 32. I created a similar post below yours and nobody has answered mine either. I wonder if this is just a common problem. BTW, your screen shots don't show the problem. you can't use a program that takes screen grabs. Or can i view those photos in the 3D viewer?

Yes, these are stereo screenshots, you should view them in 3D. The effect only appears in 3D mode.
