Hard Reset Redux - 3D Vision
  1 / 2
As we all know Hard Reset "normal" had a great native 3D vision support. The redux version has broken 3D vision. It renders kind of okay, but the crosshair and other effects are weirdly broken. It is DX11 now. So consider this when Steam tells you upgrading to Redux for just 3 EUR. It might not be worth it. For CM mode I tried AC Black Flag SP profile it's OK but no where near as good as the original version. So instead of an upgrade I downgraded.

Same happened to Shadow Warrior when they upgraded theirs engine. It will be sad to see sequel failing to deliver in case of 3D support. Game is starting to look like triple A title. I am so looking forward to it and lack of developers interest in 3D disappoints. Sometimes I`m wondering if they even see how much better those games look like.

Same shit as Shadow Warrior DX11. I've tried it this morning. Shadows at screen depth, some bad lighting, etc. The crosshair pixel and vertex shader is linked to the small blue "screen" of the pause menu. Texture filtering to only give depth to the crosshair should work. As for the shadows, they are the same kind as SW DX11. I don't know how to fix them yet. They must be in a different pixel shader than the one I looked (it had only "return" in the method). The one that when skipped makes the ground be black, maybe?

I bought the upgrade, so I may end up working on this after I finish playing through Rise of the TR.

Its without a doubt a downgrade as far as visuals. Have no idea about gameplay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOHNo2sa9-Y Kind of surprising that this was necessary even to get on consoles since game is like 5 years old.

YEY! ANOTHER REDUX FOR CONSOLES!!! CONSOLIZATION CONTINUES !!!!!! Let's see: - Metro REDUX is INFERIOR to Metro 2033 and Last Light in terms of graphics (remember the POP of objects???) - Hard Reset DX9 is BETTER than Redux on DX11 But hey.... you get DOUBLE the framerate from 200 to 400 FPS... BIG "WIN" !!! -_- Funny 5 years OLD game CAN'T RUN ON THIS GENERATION CONSOLES.... Enough said about how "powerful" they are... ("Consoles" written all over it...) Also reminds me of Dark Souls 2 "Redux" edition... which at least was/is decent and they maintained the graphics (but no ACTUAL improvements)... Smells of "MONEY GRAB" again... what a SURPRISE !!!

I should note that since while no one really noticed. He used FXAA on Redux and FSAAx4 on Original. Which explains the drastic fps change. Possibly some of the greyish tint [I really doubt it was that much]. Though there are alot more then just that which is reduced. This is a better comparison http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1227629

Yes, obviously seems a redux to get some fresh attention for the game and sell some copies. Gaming is becoming like the re-releases on CD/DVD, just to try and make a fresh sale. This said, the original version looks great in 3d and, if you pull down the console and change the convergence, looks even better when you pop out the hud/counter and user end of the weapons. The graphics and environments are also awesome - petty the gameplay is a bit boring.

It sounds promising for future ones as well.
