Thanks for the tips. It had never occured to me that the side monitors are meant to be interpreted as peripheral vision, and not meant to be looked at directly.
in portrait mode, the side screen stretching is reduced, but to me it somehow defeats the purpose of surround, since the whole view isn't as wide (would be more similar to the 4k feel). to get a real widescreen experience, you probably need 6 monitors~ also, only 3 x 16:10 monitor setup supports Surround portrait mode.
Though I suppose by that stage (6 monitors), you may as well use a projector. Even bigger size, with a fraction of the cost and horsepower, and no bezels (though much lower resolution of course). Hey you guys who use projectors: Do you find yourself focusing on all of the screen, or do you leave the outer portions of the image to your peripheral vision (like surround users do with their side monitors)?
I wouldn't go for 6 monitor portrait setup because it means that I have to stay back from the display while gaming. Personally I love and want to game up close and personal with the display, enjoying sharp and crisp image quality. a 6 screen portrait would give too big a display for close range gaming; furthermore, long viewing distance makes ultra high resolution meaningless. landscape 3D Surround is for me personally the best way to game, it allows me to do close-range gaming with ultra widescreen display:) watching 3D BD movies (or any HD movies) though I'd go for a projector.

I'm using glasses and so far the only thing I've tried that filled up that field of vision perfectly was when watching Hobbit on 800" at about 12,5m distance. I could see just about see the whole screen without movinig my head. Sitting at home in front of my 27" I don't know how I would be able to use three screens without having to move my head around more than I would like.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.

I have one and it's amazing, though you better get hmz-t2 since tht t1 can be hard on your neck, it's kind of heavy. Resolution is low on paper, 720p max, but I can do perfectly fine with that, it can do 1080p at 24p but it's not native, personally I like it but it's a matter of taste. Benefits of the HMZs is amazing image quality with oled screens and no ghosting since it has two seperate screens, and the 3d is great using 3d tv play. It also works great with tridef and console 3d, and it has none of OR issues like blurring or screen door effect. Big con vs OR is the smaller field of view though, still it really seems like looking at a huge cinema screen, yet make sure to block all light with some kind of cloth. Ontopic, I also don't see the appeal of widescreen gaming with monitors, biggest 3d monitor must be 23'' or something, so it'll hardly block all your view, besides I can imagine monitor borders would shatter the immersion, though I have to admit I've never tried it.

the majority of the negative comments on 3D vision comes from people who've never tried it yet believe that they know how it works.

I assume it will come up refunded as a credit on my credit card balance. I'm hoping for a Bioshock Infinite Steam sale in the next week or two to the tune of $25. I clearly missed the boat when it was on the summer sale for $30. But that's hindsight.

I do not know when they will refund it, but there should not be any fees from indiegogo, probably only the PayPal fees that will be lost.

You need to also check Amazon's Digital Game Deals of the Week, it resets on Thursdays. Anyhow, Bioshock Infinite was $29.99 for the last week. Its unfomfortable to wear if you dont mod it some way. I have "goggle mod", basically original chassis is cut down and fit to ski goggles. I dont have any experience with rift but its really hard to find a screen door effect with sony. Picture quality is absolutely top notch. I have 120" screen with projector, i mainly use it the same as a regular 22-27" monitor. Focus on the central area, look corners/sides from time to time if something is happening there. I hate nvidia for not supporting 2 screen surround. Or 2 projector surround to be exact. I would have made such a setup long time ago if it was possible with 2 projectors. 3 is too much of a hassle. I think its possible with eyefinity.

2 screen gaming is impossible. Think about where you aim in (almost) every game. The centre of the screen. You can't aim into/across the bezels. It /might/ be doable with projectors, but even then it would have to be lined up *perfectly*

Not quite. With 3, it has to be lined up pretty well, but a little error is okay. With two, you'll have a seam right up the middle of where you're trying to aim. Unless it was pixel-perfect, it's not going to work well.

I dont remember which edge blend software was used but it aligned perfectly so its possible. Dont have any experience with it though, so cant say how hard it is. I have seen 3d vision surround projectors in action too. Impressive, but i liked 2-way better, more height to the picture. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Td4dSDqpSKo , check that out. Its no fps game but looks pretty damn good. you can see software menu @10-12 sec mark
