Well I wish I hadn't bought it now based on it saying 3d vision compatible on the geforce website. It still says 3d vision on geforce.com for this game. WTF? Does Andrew still answer questions somewhere? I thought I saw somewhere that AC3 was going to have better 3d vision support than the rest of them. Every time I actually buy a game based on this info something like this happens.
I tried the "force dx9" fix listed a couple of posts back and it did nothing. In areas like the cave when all the lighting isn't being used the game actuially looks great in 3d. I'm still holding out hope.. especially since there's no refunds.

In NVIDIA all have finally become impudent!!! For last 6 months, have made one qualitative game in 3D!!!
Probably at their drivers greater problems with DX11, same as well as at HELIX MOD...
Constant dances of shamen!!!

Hmmm, right now I can't help getting the feeling that 3D Vision is the unwanted stepchild of Nvidia. Laughable support, false advertising (even now they still say that AC3 supports 3D Vision) and constant absense of feedback on these part of the forums.
I don't think I had one game in the past year that ran well with 3D Vision out of the box - either Helix had to chip in or I simply gave up and played it in 2D.

I do not understand!!! Why in finishing up to mind of profiles NVIDIA 3D VISION, enthusiasts should be engaged like: - eqzitara, Chiri, Helix...
All the same NVIDIA for it of money receives! And not small!!!
Please work this out because AC3 begs to be played in 3D!!!!!!!!
That's so obvious!!
We have to wait a patch (if comes)
Don't wait guys, or we will be fooled. We'd better ask for it massively (check the link below)!
What we need now are some reports from users who actually tested this one in 3D vision.
Yeah, you're right! Just let'em know how many of us awaits impatiently to play their AC3 on PC in 3D!
In case helix or eqzitara label it unplayable in 3D vision based on their personal experience (not just some pictures they got sent) I won't look any further!
Same for me: play it in 3D or don't buy it!

Well, theoretically it is 3D Vision compatible since 3D Vision works just fine in multiplayer. But yeah, it's crappy and infuriating to be mistreated and misinformed like this. It seems like proper 3D support is the last thing on their minds right now and I wouldn't be surprised if it was dropped all together in the near future...

In the minimum requirements it is said that You need a "Video Card: 512 MB DirectX 9.0c-compliant with Shader Model 4.0 or higher". So if You don't have a card that supports DirectX 11 - will the game use DirectX 9 instead? Is there a way to hide the real identity of a video card and pretend to have a card that only supports DirectX 9 so the game switches to this mode...? Often there is a section with AdapterVendorID and AdapterDeviceID in the ini file of a game. I don't have the game. Maybe someone could look for it.

My original display name is 3d4dd - for some reason Nvidia changed it..?!
They've actually changed it to say "Video Card: 512 MB DirectX 10-compliant with Shader Model 4.0 or higher" but also in the readme file in the game folder they include 3D Vision Kit as an optional extra so here's hoping they follow that through.
I do play it quite uncomfortably in 3D but occasionally some shadows, like the sun shining through the windows upstairs in the Green Dragon pub look screen level but if you move closer to them they do actually turn 3D and move to the floor level so it would seem there is something conflicting with 3D Visions calculations. (I'm not an expert by any means so I might just be talking BS)
I used about 20-25% depth and moved convergence to a comfortable level.
I've started a thread on the Ubisoft forums if others want to show their support, as usual, try to keep the thread positive despite the inevitable postings by anti-3D haters.

Why are there 3D haters when its a feature that makes the game look so damn good? Why should it bother them so much when it's not even a negative to them?

The answer is simple! 3D-haters seem to be pretty aware that 3D-enthusiasts's enjoyment of games is way beyond their own enjoyment. Unable to experience the same grade of enjoyment they also can't stand the fact that others got more out of their games!

In fact as it was explained to me some of them are upset that they have to subsidize the cost for 3D either hardware implementations or software implementations for a feature they have no interest in.
