Why doesn't 3d resolution adapt automatically to the application?
seriously wtf... why do i have to set my desktop resoltuion to either 720p at 60hz or 1920x1080 at 24hz, then have the nvidia drivers detect my resolution as 1680x1050 (wrongly) for no frickin reason in half the applications i use, so i can't use 3d half the time even with the desktop resoltuion set at something i don't like (i use 1024x758) sertiously is there a way to just have nvidia drivers apply the correct resolution a 3d resolution whena 3d application is used, like their medusa demo, or their 3d video player, or games, why do i have to fath about with my desktop resolution to get their drivers to work, am i missing something or do nvidias drivers just suck?

I assume you're using a TV/monitor using HDMI.

Go to your nvidia control panel/set up stereoscopic 3d and click on 'test stereoscopic 3d' in that menu you will have a 3d resolution/refresh selector. set that at what your TV needs, and when you start a 3d game it will use that setting. hope that helps ya.

hello, yea i've tried this before and it doesn't help, it seems to me that there are two different ways to change the resolution in the nvidia control panel, however again, these just change the desktop resolution, well the first way changes the desktop resolution, the second way, which you specified seems to do nothing, it doesn'tmatter ifi'm set to 1080p at 24 hz or 720p at 60 hz, nvidia programs like medusa demo tell me i am at 1680x1050 24hz and tell me that this s not compatible, thne retarded fing drivers need to stop setting the resolution to 1680x1050then ffs...

what is going on?

for reference i am using a lg 50pz550t avtive 3d plasma display with a gtx 580 as gfx card, thanks

Hmm, well you may have to go into your games/apps in 2d and set up the 3d resolution and refresh for each app. Then re-enable 3d and do your stuff. /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

yea, alright okay, but, alot of apps don't have 3d resolution settings like for exmaple, the medusa demo, nvidia just detects a reolsution i have not specified nor have any way of altering, plus if play game like crysis, which work with 3d, but don't have 3d settings, i have to adjust my desktop to be at a resolution i don't want it to be at..

i simply want nvidia drivers to not be screwed up, wtf is this happening?

I don't have crysis 2, but doesn't it have independent resolution settings in the game options like most games?

i am talking about the original crysis, it actually looks alright in 3d even though it wasn't designed to..., plus the original crysis is more fun to me,. yea crysis 2 has independant 3d settings, but it's not installed right now, might do that later see if ican indpendantly adjust theresolution, however this does not explain, why things like nvidia 3d movie player or nvidia medusa demo, or games that don't have their own 3d settings are detecting an incorrect resolution, fing rididcuolous

edit:

okay, i have now made progress with this and eveythting works 100%, can play 3d game at will by sleecting either 1080p or 720p resolution even if the game has no in game 3d resolution options, also can enable disable 3d at those resolutions by pressing ctrl +t in game, now also the medusa program works fine, now that i've found the config program that alow you to set the resolution, guess it must have been 1680x1050 by default for some reason, anyway now all is well can play 3d games, plus i can set my destktop resolution to anything i want, atleast for 3d games, if i want to use someprograms like nvidia 3d video player, it seems i have to be at 720p , but i am still working on it, thanks
