Flugan is having another but calmer manic episode

Hi again, No matter how many times you get locked up against your will for an unknown period of time it is never really fun. It is something I will have to deal with the rest of my fucking life. Being autistic doesn't help. Don't treat me like shit as you have done in the past! Just think about how me and DarkStarSword have contributed to the DX11 success while both suffering from mental illness. I consider my illness to be more severe but I'm not here to judge. DarkStarSword has also gone through hell and back. I can't really code locked inside a mental institution. I do want some attention and support as what I'm going through needs all the mental support I can get. This prison is my safety net but it can be difficult being locked up for long durations. As I wrote in the RTX 2080 thread I have mostly had problems using the RTX with 3D at all not without lack of trying. Just when I was about to record some 3D videos I ran into corrupt videos. Which might be solved following a different procedure. Everything was put on halt as I was quickly put into prison. WIP: flugan.net I don't have anything in 3D because of timing issuses with being locked up and flawed recordings. I mostly focused on 2160p60 recordings. Not sure how to record HDR videos of for instance Forza Horizon 4. Might be able to buy a HDMI 2.0ish capture unit to capture HDR but I have not made the research yet. Could be a solution for capturing XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 as well. Help me with this topic if you can. I will leave you for now but will be following this thread regularly. I will probably become more active in general as I will probably look a few times a day as it can be booring in lockup.

Hi Flugan, Your 4K videos look good. I don't know either how to record HDR (is this supported by Geforce Experience at all?) Does your GTX 2080 run ok in 2D mode? I heard a lot of things that the 2080 / 2080 TI are faulty. Also I hope you feel better very soon. How long do you have to stay there? Wish you the best.

I am sorry to hear you are having some trouble. As far as capture cards go, I have only found one that supports HDR so far and that is the AVerMedia GC573 Live Gamer 4K. Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/AVerMedia-GC573-Live-Gamer-4K/dp/B07DHSZC4K

Good news, should be out sometime next week. Getting new medication as iinjection twice a month. Might remove the need for getting locked up at all. I’m happy with 2D performance. I’m doing a lot of vsync right now and. Some games are more like 30fps. With modern motion blur it looks really well. 2080 was a necessary upgrade for 4K. Bottlenecked on final fantasy XV. That game looks amazing but 8GB caused major stuttering. With some caching the texture swaps resulted in silk smoth performance. 32GB ram helps here.

Flugan, best of luck to you. While you're in "prison", there is a great book that ought to be available to you,- released in 1926, but still very relevant today. Over 15 million copies have been sold worldwide, making it one of the best-selling books of all time. Even in 2011, it was number 19 on Time Magazine's list of the 100 most influential books: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_to_Win_Friends_and_Influence_People I think reading it might help you a lot. At least, it provided me with a lot of insights, and comes highly recommended by many... :)

Hi, I could probably say a lot but I just want to say that I'm finally out and no longer having a manic episode. My set of medication should be much improved. My day to day quality of life should have improved drastically while hopefully removing or greatly reducing the amplitude future manic episodes. Great news. I was released on the 20th. Currently I have no set plans.

Having a RTX 2080 founders edition is not ideal for 3D gaming. My VG278H is connected to my old upgraded computer now with a GTX 980.

Sup Flugan. I have mental shit too, and have been locked up as well. I know we've talked in Steam before, long ago, but not about mental stuff. Finding a way to be (safely) aggressive helped me a lot. Being in mid America, I can go shoot guns at a range and really get some emotions out. I know in Europe guns aren't a thing, but I've also done some boxing and MMA at a local gym, and it does wonders. (A good punch to the face can actually be a balm, and let you know who you are!) Anyway for some reason, getting aggression out really helps us guys with depression and anxiety. It really does. I think the modern, western, society rebukes the natural aggressive nature of men, and as a consequence, makes us alpha males really sick. In other words, do something aggressive.. maybe try punching some stuff (that is safe to punch) or find other guys to spar with.. LOL.

Lack of DVI and my 2016 LG 3DTV is pretty much only good for 3D Blu-ray. As soon as you increase separation you get terrible ghosting. 3D is taking a step down being paired with the worse computer but with the GTX 980 it's far from terrible. I had trouble finding a way to do 3D gaming along with having my 4K 55" TV front and center within my surround sound system. It's a mess to work with. I can place my monitor in front of my TV but that is far from perfect.
