Guys, with PSVR's launch, tons and TONS of casual gamers are now experiencing 3D Vision quality 3D like many of us have hoped for for a long time. Im speaking of the fidelity of the 3D, not the visual quality. Like not fake 3D, or Cysis's solution unless im mistaken, but full-on 3D. Speaking of Crytek, i'll link to a demo of Robinson, from Crytek for the Playstation (and others?) It looks great, although now that i think about it, hopefully its not compromised the way they did Crysis, ugh. Anyway, check out some of these great comments. Sound familiar?

You know, here's what I never understood about game development: Why in the world wouldn't game designers want to implement 3D Vision if for nothing else, their own personal enjoyment of their labor of love? I understand that development cost money that some may not have, but the big studios - even some who have designed multiple games as 3D Vision Ready, suddenly decide not too? (Case in point: The Arkham series. Three games with perfect 3D Vision, then suddenly the last game is totally buggered.) If I were the developer making and thus playing my own game for hundreds of hours, I would want to enjoy it to its fullest potential, thus I would make it work in 3D Vision.
- I'm sure that is a naive opinion and there's a lot more to it than that.

Let me tell you that the hardest part was switching back to 2D racing, to upload 2D simracingaction on my YouTube channel.

After 2 rounds Nordschleife I got headache, because of missing depth, missing breakpoints in third dimension, and sitting in a flat cockpit. :-(
And yes, these comments look familar to me.

It does seem crazy. Especially with games like Arkham Knight, where you can tell that lots of love went into it by the developers (despite what people may think of Warner Brothers' handling of the game).
Though on the other hand, as I now know from personal experience, your own game is a very different beast to playing someone else's. I put a lot of love into Spryke's graphics, and I enjoy seeing the world get prettier and prettier as the game evolves. But it's a different feeling to loading up a game, putting on the glasses, and walking around everywhere saying "wow" as you discover the world.
I guess it's more of a feeling of wanting other people to be wowed when they see your game, even though you can't be because you already know it so intimately. And of course if you know that 99.9% of your audience doesn't use 3D, then you of course (sadly) have to aim for that 99.9%.
On the other hand, when I did my most recent deep sea world, which has a lot of different elements at different depths, a part of me did really want to see what it looked like in 3D.
Either way, I'm also excited like Libertine about people finally seeing 3D properly.

Some more awesome comments for anyone interested. I just think we have like 15 new 3D Vision forums worth of new 3D enthusiasts and its good to see. In my opinion, THIS is the audience we wanted to reach, and Xbox owners will get theirs soon too. Hopefully the PSVR will act as bar that Xbox devs want to at least be equal with.
This thing is incredible. I mean, absolutely incredible.
edit: thanks for all the fun and nice responses. This is a great sub and I'm so friggin stoked to be part of the fun.
edit 2: I got mine launch day and I keep waiting for this feeling to wear off, but every time a game throws me into its environment I'm so overwhelmed with awe. ->
I plugged my wife in (pun intended) during lunch and even she freaked out. She doesn't play games.

It's astounding. Someone definitely called it out in an earlier thread...even the stupidest looking demos (like the ocean thing on the demo CD) are fucking nuts.
I can't stop thinking about it.

I agree. I not gonna say I probably won't enjoy normal gaming at all any more, but it's just not exciting now. I used to get excited about normal games coming out, and now I'm not that bothered. I do get excited every time I start playing a game in VR though. And the possibilities for exciting experiences in VR seems almost endless, there are so many games that would probably be pretty boring IMO as a normal game that I've been really excited to try in VR.

I just feel like there's nothing new or innovative about 2D games anymore. Everything that could be done has be done and done well. VR gives me something new to experience and be surprised and excited about.
Is this from the launch of 3D Vision??? (pun intended).. Oh no.. wait... It's VR in 2006 with SHITIER GRAPHICS AND LOWER RESOLUTION THAN 7 YEARS AGO!!!!!!!!!! (FFS)
(Rant intended, cause I believe, they are trying to sell us what 3D Vision DID 7 years ago IN A HELMET rather than a LCD monitor WITH LESS graphics... we are talking about COMPUTER GRAPHICS here no? -_-)

3D never would have worked for mainstream though i don't think, not until the majority of gamers had a projector sized TV in their living rooms, which didn't have lag or crosstalk. Most console gamers sit on the cough don't they? With a tiny FOV to the game world. I don't even think 3D on PC is viable on anything that provides a small FOV, yet whats the average display size , still 20" maybe? The 3D community might have been helped with this, now that so many people will understand what you mean when talking about 3D. They have seen it dude, for hours on end, and they can understand what this could do for them when going through a Skyrim: SE dungeon or playing almost any single player experience. They know what to ask for now too.

Since my youtube homepage is filled with Sony VR reactions i've been running into more and more of them. Heres one i thought i'd share. This is really seems to be a massive hit despite the game shortage, at least in terms of establishing VR/3D benefit to gaming. I mean some people are going nuts for this thing. This is a game changer guys, 3D's here to stay, in some form or another. With the PS4pro coming out, they may see how much more real the 3D can look when its not blurry as shit from FXAA and so much jaggies and hopefully will ask for more power to run the next console.
As one PSVR redditor put it:
Reaction to 3D on the TV: "neat, very neat."
Reaction to PSVR: "Holy fucking shit, this is incredible!"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPpYm48An8o
There are TONS OF videos like this on youtube from the release of PSVR. All with amazed reactions. This is so great for 3D. Speaking of 3D, why don't they have a basic 3D mode for the PSVR. It would be great for regular games and could counter motion sickness.
