So get this. I had the white flashes issue popping up from time to time... and it seemed especially bad in Silverfall. The depth would reverse and there was white flashes galore.
So, I hypothesized that perhaps the IR signal was reflecting off of many different surfaces creating a lot of false signals. Well.. I put the transmitter on a black surface and put a small black cardboard box over it to completely occlude the IR light. I then poked a small hole in the box to let a little bit of light through. Bam, no blinking for a couple of hours now in Silverfall.
I have now found out I only seem to get the Blinking issue when playing during the day time, my living room where the setup is has a lot of sunlight beaming around.
As soon as evening hits and all through the night I don't get any blinking, I have always selected the 2nd setup option when installing as well the one that says other IR devices in the same room.
I have tested this for the last 2 days in regards to playing during night time vs day time, not sure if this is cause of others blinking but it is for me.
I have thought maybe build a little cardboard box around the back of the IR emitter and put foil over that cardboard just to block the back of my IR emitter.
IR is close to the suns spectrum isn't it? Call me crazy but think I have figured out blinking issue in my regards :)
Sunlight includes a boat load of IR within its spectrum, that's for sure.
If it was sunlight though, wouldn't you need to deal with the receiver on the glasses instead of the transmitter? Of course, merely creating a focused enough beam (as with my fix) might be enough to deal with the IR noise caused by the sunlight but idk.
I generally have pretty good light control, and I had flashes every once in a while regardless of time of day. So in my case, I am thinking it was just caused by reflection, which caused the device to interfere with itself.
That said, I am pretty sure that this device would probably not work at all in direct sunlight.

Okay, working from the theories regarding sunlight and reflection interfering with the signals. I decided to open up some blinds to let a little sunshine through. Lo and behold I start getting flashes whether I am focusing the beam or not. I put a small piece of paper over the receiver of the glasses to increases the sensitivity threshold and the flashes went away as predicted. Even with some sunlight in the room I am now getting no flashing.

Love your work mate, anyone getting the blinking issue can now very easily resolve it to a minimum if not totally get rid of it which is good news from your testing.
ps: Wasn't after any credit for the idea :), just was happy to have someone else keep persisting on getting rid of this stupid issue /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Now back to my major issue of only being able to get Windows 7 64bit with 1.09 driver CD the only setup that doesn't cause endless errors and looping upon boot up of machine and when opening Nvidia control panel. /whistling.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />

I hope you weren't thinking I was serious. I was just poking fun with that. /haha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':haha:' />
But yeah, the very occasional flash might crop up, but I think it is just a product of there being multiple causes for the glitches.

Not at all, and yes I agree its just that kind of product/technology.
Wish they had have used 2.4ghz wireless technology for the communication to the glasses instead of IR, I'm sure battery life would have been comparable.
Benefits also would have been no line of sight needed.

I wouldn't even mind dealing with a wire. Better than flashing. But at least my flashing is finally under control.

Love your work mate, anyone getting the blinking issue can now very easily resolve it to a minimum if not totally get rid of it which is good news from your testing.
ps: Wasn't after any credit for the idea :), just was happy to have someone else keep persisting on getting rid of this stupid issue
Now back to my major issue of only being able to get Windows 7 64bit with 1.09 driver CD the only setup that doesn't cause endless errors and looping upon boot up of machine and when opening Nvidia control panel.

I hope you weren't thinking I was serious. I was just poking fun with that.

I don't even have a setting for pci-e voltage on the evga x58 sli. When I raise the PCI clock at all it kills my drives.
Ah well, only flashes maybe once every five minutes now after my fixes anyway.
