Using the in-game "net_graph 1" console command, I found I get similar results over an average play session:

No 3D: 100-120
3D with crosshair: 30-35
3D without crosshair: 60 constant

And for reference, playing on:

Vista 32-bit Business
AMD Phenom Quad 9950, ~2.6GHz
896MB Geforce GTX 260
4GB ram

Playing with most options on maximum except those recommended off, i.e. HDR/Bloom.

Bumping this issue. I'll be getting my other 260 gtx in today. Hopefully it will give near playable FPS with the lasersight.

Keep on truckin' Nvidia. I'm sure you'll get this problem fixed soon.

After playing awhile with SLI I see the same issues.

I'm running at 1280 x 1024.

E6750 @ 3Ghz
4GB PC6400
2x GTX260

With Lasersight = 17-30 fps

Without = 40-60

I'm not seeing much of a difference between SLI and Non-SLI. /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />

Hang on, Team Fortress 2 is a Source Engine game. It *should* have its own built-in Laser Sight Crosshair. Half Life 2 + Episode 1 do!!!!

Edit: I just tried Episode 2 and found that it also doesn't have the built-in Laser Sight. I wonder why Valve removed it. Maybe bugging Vavle would be a better option than hoping nVidia figure out a fix? The Source Engines built-in laser sight is better than nVidia's Laser Sight.

In TF2, when you toggle the laser crosshair, it uses TF2's actual crosshair if that's what you mean? On most games I've tried it renders an additional crosshair over the top of the game that lines itself up correctly with the depth, leaving you with a double of the game's own and the Nvidia one. In TF2 however, the actual crosshair becomes depth correct.

Yeah thats what I meant. So the game its self doesn't handle the crosshair then, sorry for the useless post above, and I'm glad you've enlightened me because now I know its nVidia who need to fix the UT3 Crosshair (Messes up big time with Rocket Launcher Alt-Fire!) - I'll create a seperate post for this soon.
