3D With Another Company's Glasses - Help please Help with set up? Lengthy explanation in post..
Hey all -

Hoping you can help me out here.

I have purchased E-Dimensional's 3D Glasses.

I have an nVidia GTS 250 1gb PCI-Express that handles 3D. It's built in to the card.

I do NOT have an IR Emmitter...I AM using the one that came with the E-Dimensional glasses.

I have an issue where each time I go to set up, because I have to choose "I do not have an IR Emmitter" I have to accept the default Red/Blue and the glasses can not be changed to the page flip.

Can someone PLEASE help me set this up properly here? I do NOT have the money for the extra IR Emmitter - I bought the right kind from E-Dimensional to work with Flat screen monitors - please...this is driving me nuts! (Been trying this for the past week....no response from E-Dimensional either on my support request...)

I can get them to work with the Red/Blue, but there is a lot of Red/Blue that shows up in the screen, and I believe that is because Anaglyph is showing. I need help to change it to the other kind...

Thanks in advance,

Im sorry I don't believe there is any way to make your glasses work with 3d Vision, especially since you don't have the IR Emitter (Nvidias One). I have heard of people getting other glasses to work with 3d Vision if someone already had the Nvidia IR Emitter. I think your down the creek without a paddle!!! Sorry :">

Personally, I can only help you if you use an older computer with winXP and an older nvidia card and a CRT or certain DLP projectors because that's where my experience is. If you have old stuff lying around and want to go that route, then let me know. Otherwise someone else will have to help you. Heck, even win98se with a geForce2 can do decent stereo 3d with those glasses. You would have to run older games though. Remember Descent 3? That's pretty good in s3d.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Nvidias support for stereo-3d hardwares went out with the washwater when they introduced the 8000 series of cards (they simply put everything down regarding 3d). :(
If you want to get your e-d glasses going then the best and cheapest way is to get an old 7900GT card and the 91.31forceware+91.31stereodrivers. You'll probably have to get an old crt-monitor as well since most lcd's DON'T work with shutters regardless of what e-d advertizes!
You can try with the lcd you have and maybe you're lucky. The screen needs to support a true refresh rate and most lcd's don't (they have far to great internal lag to display shuttered 3d properly).
Another choice sould be using the iz3d drivers with simple shutter mode and the e-d activator. I'm not sure if this work with the e-d glasses and probably not with the lcd either. Remember that if you go with the iz3d driver the fps from the game needs to be higher than the screen refreshrate, otherwise the left and right eye views will occasionally shift.
I'm sorry but these are simply put no longer supported. :(

Thanks to all who responded on this. Heard from Edimensional finally - they have beta drivers in the works, and I was informed what to do. Thanks to all who had helped me with this, Iondrive, I'll let you know if I need to revert back to the other equipment, and appreciate your offer on the help :)
