The Stereo 82.12 Beta Is Out! NVIDIA IS STILL WITH US!!!
  1 / 5
Hi Everyone,

NVIDIA sent me a copy of the 82.12 beta stereo driver today.

I don't know if they want it released to the public or not, so I am asking them if it's ok to post it here.

So far, it is doing a fantastic job.

It's running on my 6800GS - no driver forcing.

The Battlefield 2 shadow problem is gone.

I'd bet there are a lot of other driver bug corrections too.

I recommend sending an Email or customer feedback submission to thank them for their hard work as I know we all apreciate a much needed driver update.

Regards,
Chopper

Hi All,

In response to what video cards it works with, I know for sure it works with the 6800GS as that is what I have (PCEI version).

Whether or not is supports the 7800 series cards - if the Beta 82.01 video driver supports the video card, the stereo driver should also work.

I've been getting some emails from people wanting me to send them the driver - and I will post it as soon as NVIDIA gives me the ok.

As far as when the formal release is due out, I don't know. I don't really care because the Beta stereo works, and will tide me over until the real thing comes out.

Best wishes,

Chopper

Hi All,

I'm afraid NVIDIA doesn't want me to post the driver yet - and I can't blame them.

It does have some serious instability problems that need to be solved.

HOWEVER, they did tell me that another BETA is ready, and I'm hoping they will send it to me soon.

I think you will all get your drivers soon enough. /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Yes....I'm drunk with power. :magic:

BF2 is fantastic with the updated driver.

There are some issues with Call of Duty 2 - nothing serious. The menus and transition screens go wierd - but the game runs well.

I can't play Klingon Academy for more than 10 seconds before getting a reboot of my computer.

I'm not sure if the backplane controls are working or not - I can't tell any difference when I press the keys.

Are there things you'd like me to test and try for?

Regards,
Chopper :)

I don't have Doom 3.

I only have the demo.

It seems to run fine - but when I get out, I get a bad error that requires me to reboot the computer (the desktop gets all flickery - euch!)

Question : Does anyone know if the crosshair (not the entire HUD) can be removed?

Also, anyone able to play Klingon Academy in stereo in XP?

Chopper
