Nivida 3DTV play software?
  1 / 58
Sorry for the strange question but does this even exist?
I have recently purchased a new Panasonic VT20 and would like the ability to play 3D blu rays. I heard that nivdia were releasing this software so it could be used to play 3D Blurays and still nothing. I have a PS3 but thats gonna be update later in the year. I am now thinking of purchasing a standalone 3D bluray player but it would be a shame if i spent the money and it was released tomorrow. Any idea when its coming out if at all?
Thanks

I have the panasonic VT20 too mate, waiting on the play software as well, been using tridef at the moment to play my games in 3d on the panny.

Looks lovely but having to play at a low res just now and want the play so i can play in 720p full res.

Bought stardust hd for the playstaion 3, it looks lovely in 3d, nice and crisp.

I have not heard anything about play tv after march, just seems to have dissapeared.

:(

Hi mate
Yeah i really enjoy stardust 3D, it does look very nice. I have not tried to play any games on the PC as i use 360 and Ps3 for that. It is quite shoddy that nvidia have not released any more info as 3Dtv's are readily available. If they are unable to do what they promised or there is a delay, they should come out and say

Well they had all the games running on the panasonic plasmas at all the events back in march using play.

They are maybe waiting till all the major tvs are out, hopefully with the realese of the sony Bravia its just round the corner, my trials with iz3d and tridef run out in 8 days, so you have 8 days nvidia :)

It would be nice to get some sort of confirmation or is that too much to ask?

Its looks like they have hit a stumbling block and cannot complete what they promised.

Yeah, this is getting ridiculous. This is a flagship product, integral to full 3D rollout. I would have thought Panasonic at least would be sending "WTF!?!?!" emails every day to the project managers on this software.

grumble. My PS3 can do this, ATI is rumored to do this.

Help us nVidia, you're my only hope.

I got fed up wth waiting for nvidia and bought a 3D bluray player. Its obvious they are unable to complete what they have promised. What a joke /wallbash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wallbash:' />
Most of the manufactures will not bother with nvidia as they will want to shift their product.

qoute[Looks lovely but having to play at a low res just now and want the play so i can play in 720p full res]

The new viera's coupled with 3DTV Play software allows full 1080p each frame, so you have FULLHD3D frame sequential, not the rippoff prototype crap such as checkerboard.

The play software will allow 720p 3d at 60fps and 1080p at 24fps
Thats what i gathered when i read about it back in march.

I wish nvidia would get their act together and at least update the information and maybe even hint when it will come out, to be honest the longer this goes, i keep thinking it has been put on the back burner, and that would be a healthy kick in the teeth for us that bought 3d tvs with the promise from nvidia of software to play all our games from the pc.

Recently i have been using tridef and iz3d on my panasonic and it makes me realise how poorly implemented nvidias 3d is, there should be an option for auto zoom to keep convergence at a nice level, malke it an option so some games can just be enjoyed without too much hassle, Streetfighter 4 for instance is amazing with tridef, but when you have the convergence set with 3d vision, it never looks right during the ultras and supers if you have it set perfect for the normal plane of fighting.

Nvidia who had a huge leap ahed of a lot of people with 3d have really let an oppurtunity slip from their fingers.

Even charging for play to nvidida customers is ridicoulous, surely the product you sell should have as many options as possible presented to you, like the ps3 just been updated to play games in 3d at no expense to the owner, i wont have to pay as i have 3d vision anyway, but still think its a ridiculous decision on their part, if it was free software and advertisied properly it could put pc gaming back on the map and help ensure nvidias dominance.

Just my two cents.

:)
