After spending many hours reading forums and web content related to 3D HTPCs - I have decided to jump on the bandwagon. I recently built a PC consisting of all the building blocks required for 3D Blu-Ray and Gaming capability (as far as i know):
TV:
Panasonic 3D TV - TCP50VT25
HTPC:
AMD Phenom II X4 3.2GHz
GeForce GTX470 GPU
LG 10x Blu-Ray Burner
PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D Mark II software
Viewing 3D Blu-Ray:
I have the GTX 470 connected to the TV via the HDMI connection. Any idea why this connection would not produce 3D content on my TV? I am playing the Blu-Ray 3D movie through the PC's PowerDVD software - which i was under the impression would output a 3D signal to the TV.... but it is not. /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Viewing 3D Games:
I am waiting for 3DTV Play to be released (hopefully any day now...) so that I can play my games in 3D. But with the lack of 3D content out there, I am anxious to play my 3D Blu-Ray content. Hoping this will be plug-and-play.... my experience so far has not left me with much optimism.
Please help me find the missing pieces of my setup to get this working!!!

The problem for you with both 3D Blu-Ray and 3D Games from your PC to your HDTV is the same, your PC doesn't know how to output stereo 3D properly over HDMI in a format the HDTV understands, yet. For PC games as you've guessed, you'll have to wait for 3DTV Play. For PowerDVD, you need to wait for a patch from Cyberlink for HDMI 1.4(a) support which will be independent of the 3DTV Play software, but will piggy-back its HDMI 1.4a frame packing abilities.
Basically, once Nvidia releases its 3DTV Play and HDMI 1.4a frame packing is available on the PC, you'll be able to get any 3D content on your PC onto your HDMI 1.4a 3D HDTV. There is a comment in there also from Cyberlink saying their update will not require the $40 3DTV Play software, but I'm sure it will require the updated 3DTV play drivers if that makes sense. Hopefully Nvidia releases it this work week, but it sounds like they're having more problems with it than they expected.

Thank for you clearing that up for me! I guess I am fortunate to only wait a few weeks. From my reading, it appears a lot of people have been waiting for this from nvidia for quite some time.... I'm just anxious to get some 3D content for this TV..

Np, I think a lot of people with own or are interested in buying those 3D HDTVs are anxiously awaiting the 3D Play drivers, because PC games are really the best 3D content available right now by a long shot in terms of both quality, content and # of titles supported.

You need to buy the Nvidia kit (glasses & IR emitter)
then run the two most basic prerequisites as follows
1) Run 3dvison test stereoscopic test. (copy the cd driver from Nvdia site for 3d vision gaming.
2) Run Cyberlink 3dBD advisor.
PDVD 10 does not convert BR or any HD contents from 2d-3d.

2) Run Cyberlink 3dBD advisor.
PDVD 10 does not convert BR or any HD contents from 2d-3d.

His TV doesn't support the Nvidia 3D kit, which is why he needs to wait for the 3DTV Play software.
Chiz,
I just read an interesting article on CyberLink's website - stating that with this patch they now support HDMI 1.4 3d output "connecting in full 1080p stereoscopic 3D to a 3D HDTV".

Chiz,
I just read an interesting article on CyberLink's website - stating that with this patch they now support HDMI 1.4 3d output "connecting in full 1080p stereoscopic 3D to a 3D HDTV".

Unless you forgot to mention but you should have done two most basic prerequisites:
1) Run 3dvison test stereoscopic test (you need to purchase Nvidia kit that includes the glasses & IR emitter)
2) Run Cyberlink 3dBD advisor.
PDVD 10 does not convert BR or any HD contents from 2d-3d.

After spending many hours reading forums and web content related to 3D HTPCs - I have decided to jump on the bandwagon. I recently built a PC consisting of all the building blocks required for 3D Blu-Ray and Gaming capability (as far as i know):
TV:
Panasonic 3D TV - TCP50VT25
HTPC:
AMD Phenom II X4 3.2GHz
GeForce GTX470 GPU
LG 10x Blu-Ray Burner
PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D Mark II software

Basically, once Nvidia releases its 3DTV Play and HDMI 1.4a frame packing is available on the PC, you'll be able to get any 3D content on your PC onto your HDMI 1.4a 3D HDTV. There is a comment in there also from Cyberlink saying their update will not require the $40 3DTV Play software, but I'm sure it will require the updated 3DTV play drivers if that makes sense. Hopefully Nvidia releases it this work week, but it sounds like they're having more problems with it than they expected.
Chiz,
I just read an interesting article on CyberLink's website - stating that with this patch they now support HDMI 1.4 3d output "connecting in full 1080p stereoscopic 3D to a 3D HDTV".
Is this the update I have been waiting for??
