Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag - DX11 3DMigoto Fix
  8 / 14
Thanks for the screenshot. There will be at least one more update to the AC4 fix, to fix this sort of last remaining problems. Mike has fixed my fix for the stars so that it matches the moon, and it's checked in, but came after the current release. He also made some AA fixes to better handle the different shaders there. If anybody wants to take an early look at those fixes, download the source code from the latest Release Build I made that is not AC4 specific https://github.com/bo3b/3Dmigoto/releases/tag/0.65-beta That's the entire code base, but includes the AC4/ShaderFixes folder that has some fixes. This is a little complicated, but I really want to keep releases matching the code base. Also by the way, if anyone is interested in trying 3Dmigoto against a different game, please use that build. It's the latest and greatest code that we've got and has an absolutely huge number of fixes for the Decompiler.

I'm using the fix posted above. Is there much difference betwixt that and the beta on github? Github I'm sure it's an exciting place to rummage if you know what you're doing, I haven't a clue. Do I just download the beta fix found in there and plonk it in the ac4 folder? Thanks! Edit It's perfectly easy to find. I must have been looking in the wrong place. Soz!

Thanks again for what you guys are doing. I admit I was ready to give up on 3D vision because of the prospect of future games that are almost all going to be DX11 being unfixable, thus unplayable, in 3D. I now am looking forward to future big games like Witcher 3 even more now.

Using 3D Vision Surround, I can´t switch between real and fake 3D. Is it true, that Surround Users can`t switch between this modes?

Surround users can't use fake 3d at this stage. Well they can, but it takes a little work to make it happen. If you're seeing it in 3d surround, you're almost certainly seeing real 3d.

hello first of all i want to thank u for ur work. game looks really nice in 3d. i have a question according the fix ive got the problem that after i installed the fix my gpu usage isnt right anymore. as soon as i play the game my gpu usage starts fallin to 50% and then goes back up to 95%, and that over and over again. doesnt matter if 2d or 3d. that results in big fps drops. cpu usage is around 30% while playing. as soon as i uninstall the fix, the game works fine. gpu usage is normal permanently in the 95% range. ive got the latest driver 337.50 installed and everything else is up to date to. my hardware xeon 1230v3 gtx770 win8.1 thanks for ur help edit:/ maybe i should add that i did all the necessary tweaks. i deleted the ac4 profile with the nvidia inspector and set up all the graphics settings right. physx is deactivated too.

Since I was getting compatibility mode before, I disabled the profile in Nvidia inspector as bob suggested. But now AC4 just displays in red/blue anaglyph. Any ideas? edit: nevermind. I had the 3dvisino discover setting in the nvidia control panel. No idea how it got changed - I probably did it by accident some other time.

That's a bit wierd, I am not seeing that myself, I am getting reasonably consistent GPU and CPU usage as far as I can tell. I'll have another look though. I am SLI 770 though so that's one big difference, and also I am Win7, whereas you are Win8.1. The game works now in Win 8.1 by deleting the dxgi.dll (or whatever its called) but there may be some additional incompatibility. Bo3b knows more about this aspect than me though, I'll see what thoughts he has.

Other people running 8.1 have not seen this. Just guessing, but that cycling sounds like thermal cycling to me. It's possible that the fix puts some extra demand on the GPU in some way that tickles this problem. To figure you it, you'll need to do some experiments. I'd start with stuff like under-clocking your GPU, maybe a different driver, watching thermals when playing, heavy benchmark like FurMark.

I usually do that myself, because my cards often get quite hot.

Make sure you've got "prefer maximum performance" in the global nvidia preferences. Also, why did you delete the AC4 profile? I think that would only be necessary for older drivers that don't give you the ctrl-alt-f11 functionality. Try reinstalling your driver, then just press ctrl-alt-f11 when in AC4 to disable the fake 3d.
