I updated Drivers to 382.33, I was using 381.89, and it still work perfectly fine... but then again I'm using a 3D Vision Monitor(Acer GN246HL) not an AMD Free Sync Monitor with an EDID override...
As far as I can tell Helifax's Wrapper is working as expected also, it's not a fix... it's a tool used to fix games, it hooks, dumps shaders, etc.

Thanks! Where are these stored?
BTW I uninstalled Nvidia Experience, I hope this does not affect anything. I thought I don't really need it...
A lot of us never even install GeForce Experience, myself included... not sure if uninstalling it would cause any harm, using it sometimes messes with the Profiles...

I have tried that cfg file in c:\user\... saved games - this is where is lives I think in Steam - no go :-(
Yes I am using native resolution and 120Hz and everything. It is probably the monitor and EDID although I am told that if using dual link DVI these don't matter (?)
There is something fundamental that does not let the 3D stuff activate just for this game. Everything else seems to work ok in 3d, wrapper included but only for the original Doom3. And I verified the BFG Steam game so its not something corrupted in the BFG - besides it does the same in the non-Steam (which i removed to test as well - I tried almost everything I could think of)..
Thanks for helping me eliminate causes such as the driver and confirm it is still working. Will try the anaglyph Helifax recommended just to see if it activates (but that will not activate the 3D gear will it? that needs red / green glasses) and check this profile D-Man11 mentions and after that that's pretty much it. If it's the monitor and EDID then whatever, it is just one game whose BETTER version I already have working in 3D :-) When I have time I will try to read more about the wrapper method, sounds quite interesting.
EDIT so the profile is the same... Bah. Starts to be too much trouble for too many people just for something happening to one person only :-) I might remove absolutely everything incl the non-Steam version and all registry keys and reinstall from Steam when i get some time, but I have the feeling that will be just waste of time.

I think TsaebehT was referring to the suggestion in the post above the cfg one. It states that after starting Doom BFG you need to tab out and start the nVidia stereo test application in order to trigger 3D in the game. Might be worth a shot. There are a lot of older games that need to be forced to trigger 3D and running the 3D test application in the background is a common solution.

Yes - tried that before, tried again now. Started 3D test, see 3D, then alt tab start the bfg, 3D geasr still on but see only one channel in Quad buffer. Switch 3D on off, tried other resolutions to try to trigger the damned 3D... nothing.
I assume you see two eye icons left and right in quad buffer when 3D is working. I see only left. Also in game you see a double image. I don't. This, with 3d active, Thanks anyway!
(BTW when using wrapper I even get acknowledgement message regarding support in lower right corner, but still no 3D).
EDIT I even tried another EDID override from here: http://3dvision-blog.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2025&start=20 The ASUS VG278HE EDID Override-Real-time.inf. 3D works but not for the BFG bastard lol...this game hates me. Even with ALT TAB trick, no go, no real 3D even with gear active. Monitor menu shows 3D and 120Hz also, all is as it should be. Except it does not work - haha. Anyway I think this EDID is better as it is closer to my model (27") so I will keep it. only 2 lines are different inside. No idea how they work anyway.
EDIT 2: can anyone post their .inf from their working ASUS (or another?) 3D monitor for me to try? Not sure it will make any difference though. it is just the one game.

Discover/Anaglyph doesn't work, it just displays one eye with Quad Buffer 3D enabled... the thing about this game is I'm pretty sure it's using it's own Stereoscopic Renderer, you can choose SBS, TAB, Interlaced and Quad Buffer(3D Vision)... so yeah you can choose Quad Buffer/3D Vision but the game itself is controlling everything, not 3D Vision...
After Googling a bit it looks like someone else had trouble using EDID overrides with this and had to do a hardware level EDID override...

If the 3D emitter is on in the game after starting the 3D test application then you should load a map and try to change the conv and sep in the console.
I clearly remember that I was fooled in the Main Menu thinking that the game didn't trigger 3D but it was actually working after I loaded a map and changed the values in the console lol.

I can run this game in 3D SBS using my projector and its own galsses (not Nvidia compat) by the way but in the lounge I have a HTPC with Intel integrated graphics so 3D looks pretty bad and performance-wise... bah.. But that's SBS.
I did try the depth and convergence, no effect... will try again
I will look at that hardware EDID thing... thanks!
EDIT: Holy cr*p - this sounds extreme -= see below from that post:
"Make sure you back-up your display’s real EDID data first, and don’t blame me if you fry your screen."
I just bought this for like $550AUD, so really - fry it for a $7 sh*tty game that won't run... I'll think about it :-)

Yah, you do not want to overwrite your eeprom and run the possibility of something glitching in the process and bricking the display. It might not even have a programmable eeprom.

Nice! Will make a note to try this. Yes I can log into Steam from the power PC and the HTPC. But there must be a lag.. I read about all kinds of solutions like this and lag is always there. For most games like not good ...

I haven't really used it much but people say it's decent with the Steam Link as long as you're using a wired connection between the two... so hopefully a HTPC would be at least as good.
Originally I played it on Xbox on my 65" DLP with Dolby 5.1, I didn't have a PC that could handle it at the time... Lol. It was one of the first games I played on my Onkyo/Infinity 5.1 setup and possibly the best, the way the sound from the other rooms is completely silenced when the doors close behind you definitely added to the immersion and isolation, that and the clarity of 5 discrete channels/Infinity speakers... none of that matrixed bs.
