I use 3D Vision to assemble and edit raw images for the NASA/JPL HiRise project imaging Mars in Stereo in the highest resolution ever. In addition to editing all things 3D working on animated simulations for scientific purposes.
This sounds awesome. I'm really glad when I hear that people are using the technology beyond just games! I'd love to see this project you're working on. Stereoscopic 3D is a powerful format. As a technology, it didn't begin with games, though they proved to be a good fit. I'm sorry you got a somewhat hostile response here, though I would agree that you appear uninformed as to what 3D games there are on offer. You didn't find the poll to address your interests, you told us why, and that's good data. We got 100% male response, and 100% gamer response as you might suggest, which we probably didn't think of. Lots of polls have blind spots like these.
I would have participated but it was made only for people who use this powerful tool TO PLAY GAMES. (Really???) I use 3D Vision to assemble and edit raw images for the NASA/JPL HiRise project imaging Mars in Stereo in the highest resolution ever. In addition to editing all things 3D working on animated simulations for scientific purposes. If a game came out that challenged me and involved more than shooting fake characters in the face, I might 'play' too.
Interesting.... If you do work with NASA/JPL HiRes project(s) my friend PLEASE DO SHARE your results. I've already looked at the Mars Photos that NASA & Nvidia release in stereoscopic 3D like 1 million times now... I am really looking for some HiREs 3D Photograps... Also, Sreteoscopic 3D Simulation projects are even better as you get exactly in my field;))) However.... I simply think you JUST CONFABULATE...(not a word you know? Google it...) Seriously my friend, every day I am talking with specialists who have no FREAKING clue about their specialty.... SO I expect you are the same.... On the other hand, you would not post in these forums if you are the researcher you claim to be and NOT tangled in gaming... If you do have proof to say otherwise, my bad and I apologize... but until then you JUST BLINDLY BOAST about something that maybe you wish you were doing ?!?!?! ^_^. SO Prove it... and give PROOF:)

I have to admit its funny some guy coming in here with a downer on 3D gaming when its a forum dedicated to that sole purpose almost 100%.
