Soviet Installation was always a problem regarding the FPS. And this was even in 2D. Just for your records: https://steamcommunity.com/app/391220/discussions/0/451852225136159084/ The game has a huge memory-leak/non efficient memory transfer there. As a result no matter what you do, you'll get that. In the latest build they fixed this to a degree. I can get around 50 FPS there in 3D Surround now. 30 FPS in 3D Surround in the 610 build seems right though;)
Metaloholic, you have encountered the 3D Vision CPU bottleneck bug. Just because the CPU does not max does not mean it is not maxed. It all depends on how many threads the game uses. If it only uses 2 threads properly and you have a 4 core system, the CPU usage will never go above 50% usage, even though it is maxing the CPU (2 cores of the CPU are maxed). Now the bug part: turning off MSAA and ensuring that your GPU is always <90% usage through the entire benchmark: 1. Turn ON 3D Vision and pay close attention to average CPU usage. Write this down. 2. Turn OFF 3D Vision and pay close attention to average CPU usage. Write this down. You will notice that with 3D Vision, the CPU usage is significantly less. The only way to mitigate this problem so far is to clock your CPU higher or get a really fast CPU. nvidia says that its a bug in the 3D Vision driver which causes the main game thread on tested games on the CPU to sit idly. They are apparently working on a fix. No ETA as of yet. For what it's worth, I got 60FPS solid in non-Open world areas in Rise of the Tomb Raider. In open world areas such as the soviet installation, I would get 54-60. If the CPU didn't drop in usage, we would get 60 solid no matter where.
can one really say cpu is bottle necking as i get 4 frames lacking similar count on fps when using 2 cores instead of 4 cores ? i know about the core bug but isn´t it suppose to work still on 3 cores ? I can't see your GPU usage in the screenshots mate. Please enable it. Also, they are a tad small, can you increase the font size? Forget the "3 core limit" as it just adds to confusion. This is only one facet of the CPU bug, not all of it :)

Can someone give me an idea of which games have drastic performance boost with sli? I want to purchase a second 980ti. Particularly newer games. BF1?
