3D wizard problem with UHD
It is about a problem with a Nvidia GTX 1080, as player I´m using Power DVD in the latest version. Wanted to see UHD in 3D. First problem was, my old mainboard does not support SGX so a new Intel board and processor with SGX support was bought and the old one replaced. Installed Win 10 and the creators update. Now my problem is 3D is available but if I deactivate 3D (as suggested by Nvidia if it is not needed) I´m not able to activate it again using the Nvidia control panel. If I try to the 3D Assistant tries to start up but crashes instant and is not working anymore. Now I have to uninstall the Nvidia driver and reinstall it then I can activate 3D again. And if I disable it again, as suggested, I´m not able to activate it anymore. Have to uninstall and install the Nvidia driver again. Any hints?

Whenever you install/re-install Nvidia drivers, it a good idea to use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to remove all remnants of the current driver and to boot into safe mode to install the new one. This helps to avoid corrupted installs. AFAIK, there are not any 3D UHD discs. 1080P is the max resolution currently being sold on 3D Blu-rays. So anything above that is up-scaled. But for the wizard, use this solution ttps://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1013278/3d-vision/3d-vision-wizard-no-longer-works/post/5163867/#5163867 Of course, just for 4K 2D Blu-rays, a lot of newer gear is required and it's easier to simply buy a standalone player. https://www.extremetech.com/computing/243463-new-pioneer-ultra-blu-ray-burners-pack-4k-playback-16x-burn-speeds

I think using it everytime is overrated, although thats just my personal oppinnion. Not even clean install option is not needed if you ask me. I have had problems only with the drivers that are crap, and i have used DDU then to uninstall drivers with "just in case" in mind. Normally i just Ram them in "quick install" works 99.9% of time. Im so with D-man11 about the desktop player. Do yourself a favour and buy one and a good one.
