Customer support cant be found anywhere, calls to home office never get a return call.
Andrew disappered then some mod logged in to say I am back to calm the thread down and again nothing.
Andrew hasnt signed in once since he left the orignal I am back message.
Andrew on the last REAL day you were on what happened to all the video file samples you asked me to send you? You never even messaged me back to say thank you for the work to upload the video files so we can squash the Stereoscopic Player bug that squished the video?
Why did you make me upload the sample videos only to be the last day you signed in and then made every user here feel like that bought a defunt product?
If you users believe this thread then I am sorry for you....
Did you guys not like that Andrew got video files? I dont understand ...
Sad as it is, I have to admit you are probably right. Although they are still creating new drivers, it looks like they are just mostly adding profiles to expand the 3D application base. Since we have heard nothing for quite some time, they sure don't seem to care about our problems. No fix for Wow, and no fix for the aspect ratio in videos. If the problem is with the drivers, then it's up to nVidia to fix it, but if it actually is a bug with the player, then it's up the the creator of the player as nvidia apparently cant' create their own app for that. Either way, it's just not happening. If they would at least communicate with us, it would give us a glimmer of hope for the possibility of a fix...

SSSShhhh!!!! Dont say that !!!!
These are user 2 user forums ONLY and someone I know will get really upset.
He might do some thing drastic...
Here's were I come from... I helped Andrew & the 3D team with enough issues since it has come out that I deserve to be able to speak my mind on the forums at least with out being trolled on. And I sent them money for 3 sets of glasses on the first day, I have done more for the 3D community it the past month than any other user here.... PERIOD! Look back through the logs. I can even help more but I see that its useless now as there is no more interaction. Why should I spent my time helping issues for them if they arent going to use the advice? Right?
I was the one who told Andrew that the overscan/underscan is possible even when he said it wasnt... I told him he was wrong and that resulted in getting a DLP hotfix for all users
http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=87363
Then I also let them know which MS update was butting heads with the 3D performance.
I can keep going but what really urks me is that after all ENERGY I put foward to help Nvidia, Andrew & I had a discussion about an extremly rare bug for the stereoplayer bug and he asked me to send him sample x264 movies. For testing as then just after I send the sample to help the DEV team he just up and bounces on all users. Day I sent them was the last day he REALLY interacted here.
I have more to share to help the 3D community but I feel its a lost cause because of they way the users are being treated.
They fixed the red tint issue with samsung dlp tvs.
This has been the only fix that that has come through, thankful for it as I requested it back in Jan.
I always have been a NVidia fan and always will be to be truthful, even though things got real cold I will not say I am going to spend my money elsewhere.
If i wasnt a nvidia fan I would own 3x 3D Vision glasses, geforce 280, geforce 8800 GTX and my old striker extreme. These ar the products that I keep now but have had many over the years.
Im not bother about not offereing support to users on forums, i judt really think they went about it all wrong. Here we are then POOF gone, this is what bothers me. (Read delayed post above) Andrew was workign on specific issues with me privatly for the users here. Then as I said POOF gone.
Its was like a bait and switch effort, and it was upsetting to see as I put alot of time in giving Andrew specfic info.
I did love working with Andrew for the fact is I cared about my 3D community and I love Nvidia. I just wont put my effort in bug finding no more since the interaction is now gone. I helped fix some big issues around here and would like to continue but I wont waste my time either...
Well some people think they can magically fix everything and thats why they are nagging all the time.
Most of us that have been here awhile (this support forum, for 3DVision. I understand I'm not a "long-timer" by any means) are just shocked and disappointed by the sudden shift in support (or lack thereof). When we were considering our purchase/just made our purchase Andrew was here almost all-day, every day. We were able to give input, hear what was going on, see some headway in the development of the software.
We were seeing a proactive community/dev team working together and felt reassured that our purchases would be supported. Suddenly there was a shift there. We're not seeing anything of what we did before. .bugs that should be minor to fix (we're not expecting magic here, be realistic) have gone untreated, with no word at all about anything being done.
Take the aspect ratio issue for example. The developers that actually created the player have fixed the issue long ago. If you actually go out and pay for the original player, the aspects aren't an issue. However NVidia hasn't stepped up in any way to resolve these issues. Not only this, but the forums have changed in a way that can only leave speculation. There is no support offered here anymore besides that coming from other users. The development team seems to have just disappeared. And not only that, but in mid-support for some of us. In the middle of asking us to send them information/files etc. I've got some issues that Andrew was looking into as well. He'd asked me for some information and *poof* support is gone. Those of us waiting in oblivion for a completion to our conversation are a bit irked.
I honestly believe that MOST of the "nagging" I've personally been seeing is by these users, such as myself. We do have expectations. Simple ones. We're in the middle of conversations. . .almost cut mid-sentence. That does leave for some loss of assurance.
The fact that not only is Andrew gone, but that this thread was created and never again responded to (nor any other following) is VERY curious, to say the least.

Skybase my friend, i know what you are saying and if these forums where not user 2 user forums i would completely agree with you. However since these are user 2 user forums, and have been every since the beginning you must accept the fact that what andrew did was something like a bonus and nothing more, unless somewhere in the bundle of your 3D Vision said that you can expect official support at forums.nvidia.com which i really doubt it. In any case we all have problems in our lives and perhaps Andrew has one as well and thats why he fell from the grid, i don't think that's impossible and i don't believe that NVIDIA would chase him off for no reason at all.

Yea, yea we've heard that same thing many times. This is NOT an official support forum... That doesnt' mean they couldn't or shouldn't use if for that. Most manufacturers DO have a support channel in their forums designed to help with bugs and other issues, and so should nVidia. If you read the rules of these forums, they state that they MAY monitor them from time to time and actually respond to users issues which they definitely should do. Its the best way for them to resolve issues with their products and inform the customers of the progress. I don't expect another user to solve nVidia's problems, I expect nVidia to. It just makes sense to me, which apparently it doesn't to some others. Whether it's Andrew or someone else from nVidia, they should communicate with us through this forum as it the most efficient way. Instead of sending the same answer to hundreds of users through email, they could just post it once here since we are already here looking for help. Many of the problems they have fixed were a direct result of this forum, there is no reason for them just to stop helping us in this way. jmho..

This is still a new product, with many difficult obstacles to overcome to truly succeed. 3D has been a very obscure venture for any company and although NVidia is a great company to do it, if their product remains horribly buggy in so many basic areas (ie 3D movies designed for this tech) word will get around. And not the type of word that NVidia needs to get this truly off the ground and successful.
Some of the big issues we're seeing with this device should be remedied quickly. I understand that there are many issues that will of course take time, but for example the aspect ratio in their 3D player makes that part of it very sub-par and amateur-ish. That along with such issues (as I'm having) as some people not being able to even get to every tab in the 3DVision control panel and other basic necessities such as this are only going to hurt this infant product.
It's a lot of money to invest in a product that (at least on the surface) appears to be losing support by the company that JUST introduced it already. Especially when there are other, cheaper alternatives around that have similar capabilities.
User to User forums you say? Fine. But a company that ignores the mass issues that their customers are seeing in a new venture, especially an obscure one such as this, or that simply "turn off" their support visibility to them are putting themselves on a very fine line.
I personally don't see that helping this product succeed, especially in the current economy. As any company. .if this doesn't pick up somewhat quickly, it will be dumped.

I think they just dumped it. Probably the sales weren't too good; then came the crisis; Maybe some manager said: well this just costs a lot of money and doesn't create any profit. In the current situation a company has to concentrate on its core business, and that's graphic cards. I guess, that's also the reason, why there isn't any word about a release here in europe.

I just ordered the Samsung DLP TV to use with my 3D Vision and this doesn't bode well but I only have myself to blame if what you suspected was true: I should have learned from the XP 3D driver abandonment lesson but the 3D luring is just too strong to resist. Oh well, I hope it's still a good TV regardless even if Nvidia molested consumers that way. May be it will be for the better since AMD will have the arena for itself and come out with their own 3D solution.

Me, a troll?? I think you should take a step back there! I am a dedicated nVidia user and have been for many many years. I paid a lot of money (to me) for this technology and expect action from nVidia for it's problems. That may be your definition of a troll, but you are mistaken and I resent that statement.
What nVidia needs it BETTER communication with the users of it's forums.

Many of the problems they have fixed were a direct result of this forum, there is no reason for them just to stop helping us in this way. jmho..
