DLP with overscan issue with two last driver releases
Andrew: The last two driver releases do not display my tv overscan detection correctly or refused to accept or recognize the force custom setting, namely at 1768x992 resolution (which is the only working res in 3d for my tv display, btw) .
I have to stay with 267.24 for now until the new fix is in place.
A bit of fyi: With the latest beta I could successfully force it to 1769x992 but then everything else displayed in 3d incorrectly, granted it even passed the 3d wizard test setup which really puzzles me!!
Is there anyway I can hack it in some sort of .cfg setting?

Spec: Mits DLP 73837, GTX480 and Window 7 64 Ultimate.

TTry turning off dwm.exe. Use control panel. It turns off the aero effects. Solved some of my issues in the past.

control alt delete into windows task manager. click processes tab, look for dwm.exe. right click dwm.exe and click end process. on my computer it takes two times to get the program to dissapear for good. you will notice windows looks less pretty without aero effects like clear taskbar and windows. they are on by default. just log off and back on the restore the dwm effects when you are done. this was the only way i ever got my old dlp to work with the overscan utility.

Daniel:
Have you actually tried or gone thru this process like myself?
Because it does not make any sense to me why one has to do this and besides when I converted back to 267.24 that still works fine except that it does not have all the latest 3dvision profiles for my newer games. i.e. Crysys 2 etc.
Andrew: Can you address this to your developer team for any fix for future release?

Can you provide more details?

- GPU you are using
- DLP you are using
- Driver you are using
- What games does this not work on
- Did you try the NVIDIA test app?

Can you provide more details?

- GPU you are using = GTX480
- DLP you are using = Mits 73837
- Driver you are using = 267.24 for now. Any thing newer won't work.
- What games does this not work on (with latest beta) = all games (CODBO, Crysyis2, and you name it)and Power DVD U10 does not display 3d BR movies either, the emitter light on but screen is black, 2d and sound is ok.
- Did you try the NVIDIA test app? yes, ran wizard on the latest beta and passed, because I can slide the the test image to the working resolution or 1768x992 but it would not let me however, to custom the 1768x992 for desktop resolution in the change resolution function. The last two driver releases do not detect 1768x992 automatically as all previous drivers did. That's why I'm forced to go back to 267.24 until NV puts a fix in. I also did a clean sweep and re-installed latest beta driver 3 times, still no luck. I spent 3 hours doing this on my memorial day off. :-(

Note: when I was trying to custom the 1768x992 using the latest beta, I could see the desktop background changed to the new resolution accordingly and correctly but the driver kept saying the forced (1768x992) was not the correct resolution or something in that effect and then it forced me right back to the only ones it could recognize such as 1900x1200 or even as close as 1768x991.Weird!

I am also having problems with the 1768x992 resolution when using
a Sony KDS-55A2020 TV and a MSI N560GTX Ti Twin Frozer II card.

On the 275.xx driver (including 275.33) I can only select 25 and 30Hz interlaced for 1768x992.
No 50 or 60Hz in the frequency list.
On the 270.xx I could also select 50 and 60Hz but the driver forced 50Hz always.

I can use and select 1920x1080 at both 50Hz and 60Hz with no problem.
