And just a reminder that this is stereoscopic 3D version convert from the official trailer of the movie that looks nice, but don’t expect anything to hit you in the face with this one. Converting 2D to Stereoscopic 3D video does not provide the same great results as when shooting the video in S3D and then providing it in that format, but still it is better than plain 2D so you might as well enjoy the trailer. :)

I'm not impressed at all. It looks just as bad as an automatic conversion can look.
I suggest you don't spread it around too much, or it could cause more bad reputation for 3D.... especially don't upload it to youtube3D unless you fill it with warnings and overlays on the whole length of the video stating it's a 2D to 3D conversion, not the actual 3D trailer (people tend to be very dumb)

I thought it was crap - very slow stuttery - only one or two things showed slight 3d - really not worth it.

As I said you cannot expect it to be as good as a true S3D version, but that is something that we probably won't get anytime soon if at all.

Trailers are usually not that good for 2d to 3d conversion, just because they usually tend to show very fast paced action and switch different scenes very quickly...

The problem is not expecting to be "as good as" or even close to that.
The problem is that when 99% of the converted footage looks like absolute unwatchable headache inducing crap, it isn't exactly "better than 2D" : it's just plain horrible and should not be showed to anyone unless you want to make a point in saying "don't even try to convert 2D to 3D, just enjoy the film in 2D or shoot it in 3D in the first place"

When properly done (this means by a team of professionals manually converting the footage using dedicated tools) it can look very good. I remember seeing the converted Star Wars clip at a trade show and it is impressive. I didn't find the clip on the web, i don't remember the name of the company who did the conversion, it's not ILM, it is a company specialized in 2D to 3D conversion which i had never heard of.

Last night on Letterman (hate the show, but saw they were having Zoe Saldana (sp) on there from Avatar), they played a clip from the movie and said it was in 3D, then they put some, what looked like anaglyph, glasses on. But, the clip was in HD, but didn't look like it was in any kind of 3D.

It basically just looks bumpy to make it look like its popping in some places. Not great. Question though, how come in 3D Vision I can't get it to play correct aspect ratio? It's very squashed.

I'll give it another judge once/if I can play in a decent aspect ratio... Dunno what the deal is.

Yeah I did that for windowed mode and looks correct, but in Full Screen its squashed like crazy!
