Edit: Found this step by step guide for 3D for my particular model: http://www.3dglassesunlimited.com/mitsubishi-wd73737-dlp-3d-ready-hdtv-73-inch-p-101.html seems you need the adapter despite getting "DLP-Link Glasses" but not the emitter. Also according to them DLP Link glasses aren't as good as IR glasses. And damn I didn't realize the emitter is MORE expensive than the adapter...so I'm calling it quits on that whole thing. Just going to get 3D Vision, a graphics card, and call it done.

Nice post Vertigo, very informative. Do all 3D Ready Mits DLP (and Samsung for that matter) do the DLP link function? If so that would be nice since an emitter is not required.
Based on your research, seems the 3D Vision kit is the way to go. Works with the Mits and with a 3D Ready monitor with minumum complications, minimal extra boxes and compatibility issues. Only unanswered question is if it works with PS3 console. I'd also like to know if Blu Ray 3D works with the 3D Vision kit on the Mits, I never tested when I had my Mits last summer.
BTW, do you have a computer permanently hooked up to the Mits?

From what I've read, 3D Vision shouldn't work for the PS3 since from what I understand the PS3 doesn't output checkerboard (someone correct me if I'm wrong?), and it's the adapter that would convert the 3D signal from the PS3 to the checkerboard format the TV would output to the viewer. But I've read some people's accounts of leaving their PC on, playing some 3D content in loop to keep the emitter going, then switching inputs on the TV to the PS3 and enabling 3D. It seems to have worked for them in some cases but I forgot what model TV that was, I think it might have been a Samsung. And no, my PC is usually connected to a dual monitor setup (non 3D) and would be connected to the Mits whenever I want to 3D game. I figure I have this 73" TV in the other room, better to utilize that as a 3D monitor than spend $500+ bucks on a 21 inch 3D monitor.
Edit:
So I got the kit, and it works (and looks) amazing on the TV. So so awesome. I actually had just bought a new monitor prior to this purchase (about 2 weeks ago, a 27 inch samsung) but it's only 60Hz. I'm thinking about exchanging it for a 23inch 3D Asus monitor so that when the Mits TV is in use, I'll have 3D capability in my room. Only issue is downgrading from a 27inch monitor to a 23...but I think it shouldn't be a big deal. I'd actually prefer to spend the money on say a 30-40inch 120hz HDTV, but I'm iffy on using 3DTV since it currently doesn't support checkerboard with 1.4 HDMI, and I want to guarantee that I will be able to have 1080p@60FPS on my other viewing source. I did come across a few articles mentioning this mythical 27" Asus monitor: http://www.myce.com/news/asus-3d-monitor-is-worlds-largest-29992/ announced almost a year ago... does anyone know if this is available anywhere or was it canceled or something?
Thanks for all the help though, 3D gaming is an incredibly immersive experience. Crysis 2, Mirror's Edge, Mass Effect 2, Arkham Asylum, Grid, The Witcher, Dragon Age, Fallout... just too many games to list just look too damn cool and are completely enhanced by 3D Vision.

I would hate to speculate, but I can tell you that Andrew has promised CB will be implemented in a release at some point in the future (not necessarily the next release).

Can we rely on you putting a note in this thread once CB is available in the 3D TV Play driver?

Glad I could help out. Your feedback this proves that rollermod works on LG as well as Samsung, something that had been assumed but not tested until now. Thanks for letting us know.
