I am going to try and explain this best I can.
When I am using the edid override for unsupported 3dtv's .. I can play games in 3d. Link for doing this is here http://blog.bagearon.com
This works fine .. but because I am tricking the card.. This fix throws my native out of whack.
That is why I was happy to see that it looked like my tv was finally supported .. but as I said .. does not work.
Here is step by step what I did.
1. I uninstalled the monitor driver to get rid of the edid override.
2. Just to be sure it was clear, I restarted computer.
3. Checked to make sure override was clear .. device manager .. monitors .. monitor listed as generic plug and play
4. Ran the 3dplay activation utility.
5. Ran the 3dplay update.
6. restarted computer again.
7. after start up .. I checked the NVIDIA control panel.
8. In the set up stereoscopic 3d section of the NVIDIA control panel .. instead of seeing the 3dplay logo .. I see that enable 3d is checked .. stereoscopic display type is grayed out .. underneath that it says HDMI 1.4 Blu-Ray 3D .. beside that is a link to download 3dTV play.
9. I can run the test stereoscopic test .. which works great .. but that is all I can do.
So Andrew .. am I doing something wrong? Or am I correct and this update just does not work for this TV?
Frankly speaking, there is just problems in our driver to recognize TVs. Long story short, we sometimes dont recognize HDMI 1.4 TVs as such.
We are working on this in house right now to try to fix it.
Can I assume you have 3DTV Play either via the IR Emitter or purchased license?

Hello Roller ... The Edid override works yes ... but because of the way it tricks the card into working .. it throws off my native 1360 by 768 .. to be 1400 by 900. So things do not look as good as they could if I could run in my actual native for this TV.

CoppDog,
Wrong resolution is indeed a problem. Have you tried creating a EDID .inf file of your Samsung ps50c490, then installing it for your monitor .inf file using device manager?

Well I hope a fix is indeed coming soon.. I suggest taking the ps50c490 off the supported list until it actually is supported as it is misleading.

I own Mitsubishi WD-65C10 and it does not support hdmi 1.4 without Mitsubishi 3D adaptor. Mitsubishi released a 3D software update for 738 and 838 series TVs but there is no such software update available for C10 and 638 series Tvs. I got this information from Mitsubishi website (http://www.mitsubishi-tv.com/3D.html#need). It is clearly stated that C10 and 638 series are 3D ready TVs but would need a 3D adaptor for hdmi 1.4 signals.

Does the Notebook Clevo version of 9800m GT 512mb Support HDMI 1.4a? The 3DTV Play support utility says no but i think it may be wrong as i've sent a 1920x1080 120hz+ single over the 9800m GT inbuildt HDMI port before fine Which would be much higher than HDMI 1.4a 1920x1080 24hz(or would it be 48hz? effective) 3D signal?. This makes me think its a very different case to the 9800 GT desktop version and might be miss dedicated a real shame for this strong mobile GPU.
Also newer Nvidia drivers have problem with Clevo M860tu with 9800m GT and 260m gfx cards.. could nvidia please look into fixing this problem.
On Silent mode sound and external video work fine. Same while on battery mode.. but on Power cord sound and external monitor distort with flickering external monitor image and sound. If it works fine on battery mode and on Silent mode(lower fan/power) i think a fix is possible please look into this as 9800m GT and 260m are VERY expensive Nvidia GPU and should be supported longer than a year or so! (ALSO ive had a 9800m GT die on me and had to have it replaced due to manufacturing error recently so i demand Nvidia update suport for these 2 cards on M860tu/alienware etc laptops (which i all think get this audio/external monitor issue as well with the 9800m GT / 260m cards))
Please look into fixing this as well!..
Hope you can help with HDMI 1.4a (also does 3D nvision have any plans to support Side by Side mode in the future? incase i do not have any option with HDMI 1.4a)
Even if there is a option to disable audio over HDMI 1.4a to make it work.. or any thing. please think about it as having the latest HDMI as all will need it eventually when screens shift to 4K and use the HDMI 1.4a standard.. There are already many computers that could support such a resolution just not over the HDMI 1.4a standard due to driver!. So please look into this for future for all GPU.!

Hi
This information is coming directly from Mitsubishi.

It might be possible that they are planning to release a software update for C10 and 638 series TVs also. If that is the case then it is a good news for owners of these TVs.
Hi
Mitsubishi has notified us that these TVs will support HDMI 1.4. I am unsure where you are getting your info?
I own Mitsubishi WD-65C10 and it does not support hdmi 1.4 without Mitsubishi 3D adaptor. Mitsubishi released a 3D software update for 738 and 838 series TVs but there is no such software update available for C10 and 638 series Tvs. I got this information from Mitsubishi website (http://www.mitsubishi-tv.com/3D.html#need). It is clearly stated that C10 and 638 series are 3D ready TVs but would need a 3D adaptor for hdmi 1.4 signals.

Well I hope a fix is indeed coming soon.. I suggest taking the ps50c490 off the supported list until it actually is supported as it is misleading.

So Andrew .. Any word on a possible fix?

Andrew: You did not comment on my previous post. So my question is still the same. Why mitsubishi 638 and C10 Tvs have been added to 3DTV play supported TVs even if they do not support hdmi 1.4 signal inputs? Did Nvidia test any of these TVs before saying that these are supported?
