under Section "Screen"
I included the entire xorg.conf file as an attachment.
Ok, so the problem is that no application will run in stereo.
I tried to use VMD (visual molecular dynamics), which will just display 2 images on top and bottom of the screen when set to quad buffered stereo mode.
I also tried to use VR Juggler, which indicates it's unable to render in stereo mode.
The OpenGL/GLX panel in the nvidia X server settings indicates that stereo mode is NOT supported on any of the display modes (the st column).
So now what?
How can I make this insanely expensive graphics board do what's it's supposed to do? /ermm.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ermm:' />
There's nothing physically wrong with the board or anything, cause quad buffered stereo works like a charm in windows.
I'm currently trying to get stereo mode to work on linux using a Quadro FX 4500.
But so far, I have failed to achieve any results :'(
Ok, so here are the details:
I'm running fedora core 6
I'm using a Quadro FX 4500 with g-sync module
I installed the latest nvidia drivers (100.14.11)
I adjusted the xorg.conf file by adding:
Option "UBB" "True"
Option "AllowDFPStereo" "True"
Option "NoFlip" "False"
Option "Stereo" "3"
under Section "Screen"

And how about other stereo modes? Try to set up stereo mode "4". You need 2 equivalent monitors (with same resolution and frequency) and "TwinView" function switched on to "clone". If it works fine, then the problem in your settings. :)

sorry about the late reply, i was on a holiday.
other stereo modes don't work either
both application are still unable to run in stereo mode

May be the problem in a too new Kernel or X-server. I had such situation with SuSE 10.2. All settings was fine, but there was no stereo.... I spent 2 mounth with it and then just changed my SuSE on Mandriva 2007.0 (a little bit older kernel and X). After that I set up stereo in a half a hour!!! Try this. :)

Moreover, disabling "Composite" might be helpfull (check the Xorg log [/var/log/Xorg.0.log ?] to see whether Stereo was forced to be disabled because of "Composite"):
Well, I think you should add the options in the "Device" section instead of "Screen".
Here's mine:
Section "Device"
Identifier "nVidia Corporation G80 [Quadro FX 370]"
Driver "nvidia"
BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
Option "UBB" "True"
Option "AllowDFPStereo" "True"
Option "NoFlip" "False"
Option "Stereo" "3"
Option "ForceStereoFlipping" "True"
EndSection
