Does DX11 have to be enabled for the 3D option to be selectable?
for me, yes. dx9 + 3D (through IR emitter). the game won't run at all. fire up the game to test because of this thread. remember back when the 3D effect was really bad, I had to lower the depth to the point it's not really worth it due to the performance trade off in Surround. Now, the light/shadow is improved, but the light effect is still off, annoying, not game breaking. Both 3D strength and plane at 100% do make the game look flat; however, for my 3D surround setup, 100% plane + 50% strength gives quite decent overall depth (not just the gun). The game is still quite taxing in 3D surround (670 4G sli), which isn’t that justifiable imo judging from its image quality~

Whenever people are talking about Deus Ex, I feel like we are talking about a completely different game. When I played through it, it seemed terrific to me, good 3D support, no bad lights, decent depth, adjustable convergence. I really don't understand the negative comments, for it's current state. We can all agree that it when it was released that they botched it pretty badly. I'm super curious if I'm missing something though. Take a look at this screenshot that I made, is there anything wrong with it? This is how I played the whole game. What am I missing? http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/bo3bber/image/4f978f4e378501d376000005/ Here is a more recent picture, with JPG compression at 85, instead of that pathetic 50 Nvidia foists upon us to start. (earlier snapshots were all 50) http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/bo3bber/image/516a71a35ec346522100013b/

Ok, still cannot get it to work. I play in 3D surround. When I play on a single screen the 3D is the same old carppy 3D I'm used to in this game. However, I want the crap 3D in surround. When I play the game in 3D surround I notice the following things: 1) I get WAY more depth (twice as much as on a single screen) 2) Light effects are now also rendering in 3D (which they don't on a single screen), but incorrectly. I've tried everything I can think of to make it work in 3D surround but I can't it to work. Any suggestions? I know for a fact that a month ago I had it working (crappy 3D surround).

Though 3D surround provides more depth. like I said, in 3D surround, the lighting and shadow are improved, but not perfect. the game for me just like before, best play in 2D surround (cannot go back to single screen gaming~~"). and my problem with the game is never 3D effect, since it happens; my biggest issue is that, with such mediocre image quality, the game is simply too hardware demanding. I read somewhere that starting with the 314.07 drivers, Nvidia has added Quad-buffered OpenGL Stereo support for Windows 8. Can anyone with W8 comfirm this? Doesn't Deaus Ex have OpenGl native support?

What exactly was I looking for? Everything looked fine, except some lights that covered multiple surfaces were rendering a little off in one eye. Barely noticeable. Depth wasn't bad, but I'd like to crank it higher. Convergence was terrible, really need to adjust that. Any hacks to unlock it?

Alice madness returns not working, Battlefield Bad company 2 not working, Darkness 2 shadows wrong, borderlands 2 shadows wrong, Mirror's edge 2D. Install an old driver and do CLEAN install. IMO. Noone posts driver version so I have no idea whats doing it. These are not noob's for the most case either. I think when you go from a certain driver to another it doesn't copy over it properly. Whenever I hear shadows/lighting wrong in a game that works for everyone else I always say install a different driver with a clean install.
