1) Make and model of notebook
ASUS G53JW-3DE

2) NVIDIA GPU model
GeForce GTX 460M

3) What 3D mode are you trying to use (3D Vision/3D Vision Discover/3DTV Play)?
3D Vision and/or 3D Discover - both won't work as Nvidia control panel won't even show the Stereoscopic option. This is weird, as 3D Discover should work even on regular 60Hz LCD laptop monitor, right?

4) Are you using internal LCD panel that supports 3D Vision or external 3D Vision monitor? If external, please provide the monitor make and model and how it is connected (DVI to DVI, DisplayPort to DVI, DisplayPort to HDMI, HDMI to HDMI).
Internal LCD monitor. Nvidia control panel shows it as cPATH Laptop, with refresh rate 120Hz. I noticed though that the monitor shows as "Generic PnP Monitor" in Device manager. When trying to enable 3D (by attaching external monitor, it makes Stereo options to show up) I saw the message saying "this panel is not eligible for 3D"
or something similar.
Could it be that the NVidia driver looks at the monitor's max frequency
and if the driver reports below 120Hz then 3D gets disabled?
I think that I saw the monitor reporting a number like 119.9 Hz or similar somewhere in the system, is the Nvidia driver perhaps not comparing it directly to the required 120 Hz, without rounding the value up?
Unfortunately couldn't find the native LCD monitor driver from ASUS.

Strange thing is that it did work for me before on this laptop, in full 3D Vision mode with Nvidia shutter glasses, before I installed one of the newer Nvidia drivers, replacing original Asus ones (I believe Asus has Nvidia driver versioned 260 or something close). I tried to downgrade back to original Asus driver, but it didn't reenable 3D Stereoscopic in Nvidia Control Panel. Anyway, again 3D discover should work, right?

5) Device ID of GPU. To get the Device ID of your GPU, please do the following:
-Open your Windows Device Manager
-Double-click on the "Display Adapters" icon
-Right-click over the icon for your NVIDIA GPU
-Select "Properties"
-From the Properties window, select the "Details" tab
-From the drop down "Property" box, select "Hardware Ids"
-Copy the first line shown and paste it into your report. It would look something like this:

Mine hardware Ids are:

Nvidia display adapter:
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DD1&SUBSYS_20431043&REV_A1

For those trying to use 3D Vision discover, please be aware that 3D Vision discover is only supported when using external LCD monitor. It will not appear for internal LCDs per OEM requests. If you would like support for 3D Vision Discover on internal notebook LCDs, please request it from your OEM maker so we can add it on future drivers.
