I HAVE NOT INSTALLED 3DTVPLAY
Thanks for clarification. Sounds like I would need to de-install 3DTV Play to continue any testing and evaluation of this approach. Have you noticed any unusual ghosting, like I observed with Ignition and its 4K (3840, actually) line-interleaved setting?

Hello Friends, I am new to the forum. I introduce myself, I'm calling Dainok and speak little English. I try to be as clear as possible, even a bit with the help of the translator :P . It seems fair to ask help to you in this forum, you who are definitely more experienced than me. So, I own a gtx 980, and 1 kit 3d vision glasses . and it's a whole year that I try the best 3d tv 4k for gaming, and with HDMI 2.0. (not curved). are constantly searching the internet, but I find that every tv is followed by an obstacle. then I give up, I do not know what to choose, and if you wait. There is choice between 3d passive or active. problems half resolution. or problems of input lag, framerate. and stuff. I now I know that my kit 3d vision, will not need. But at least I want a TV that can offer me a 3d clean (like 3d vision on a small monitor that I had in the past). input lag down, and at least a full 3d 1920 x 1080, 60 fps in game. what do you advise me? can you help me please??

Dainok - until 3DTV Play is fixed/updated, I suggest getting AMD R9-290X, TriDef's Ignition, and the best 4K passive (LG or Sony) UHD TV you can afford. The passive 4K UHD TVs provide great (low ghosting) full-frame (full resolution) 1080p 3D @ 60 fps (HDMI 1.4b), with Ignition set in AMD/HDMI display mode. Catalyst version 14.12 is required for R9-290X. Even if you never view 4K content on this display, the great 1080p60 3D is worth the expense, in my opinion. For example, see http://www.cnet.com/news/4k-tvs-with-passive-3d-finally-a-good-use-for-all-those-pixels/.

I genuinely hate to mention this in this great thread but I made a mental note to stay clear of LG 4K Tvs when i went looking at them back when i assumed they would work with 3DTV play. The LG i looked at had a massive screen door effect problem that made the screen seem like a normal 1080p while all the other brands I looked at were the same (Sony, Samsung and Panasonic), with very fine pixels, as expected. This wasn't any minor problem either, this was a super shitty fucking TV. This problem could have been easily been resolved by now though, as this was a couple years ago and they change every year, or more, but i hope this fix works with other TVs as well and/or i hope they have changed their displays.

Libertine - I have not noticed any display anomalies with my LG. In fact, I thought its display performance was good enough to replace my prior main 3D display, a Panasonic plasma VT25 HDTV (lowest ghosting of all 24 fps HDTVs, great color, great responsiveness with less than 20 msec lag, 600 Hz refresh). The only issue for both my passive UHD TVs has been input lag - even when set to gaming mode. The LG lag has been high enough that, when combined with 3DTV Play's 17 msec delay created by 24 Hz Desktop, 3DTV Play is unusable for me (I will not use 720p)! Note that I must use Sony's gaming mode for all video source (cable box, PS4, PC...) in order to avoid to very noticeable TV video/external 5.1 surround sound system sync problem - if normal TV video processing is used. As part of my initial display assessment, I run TriDef's high contrast 3D test pattern to assess ghosting. By the way, I have owned 6 different 3D displays (3 active, 3 passive - one of the active displays actually 3 screen Eyefinity portrait setup), have two gaming PCs, and have assesed the displays using a game library including more than 100 games.

HDMI Checkerboard mode does not work for either 1080p or 2160p Desktops (NVIDIA 3D test pattern), at least with my UB9500. Only 3DTV Play mode provides good S3D on my setup.
