Any advice to make 3DTV Play less of a pain?
I've used a 3DTVPlay + W1080st projector setup for a few years. In Windows 7 it used to be fairly simple to get it working: -switch sound to projector speakers -turn on projector + controller -turn on glasses and play game after Windows 10 + updates it has transformed into this debacle: -switch sound to projector speakers -turn on projector + controller -turn on controller companion so I can navigate windows on projector -switch display from duplicate screens to projector only -restart windows -wait for Steam to startup -turn on controller again -toggle 3DTV Play off and on -turn on glasses and play game If I don't do all of this crap it doesn't work, at least not with most modern games. The projector will switch to 3D mode (but only show 2D image) as long as it is set as the only display but 3DTV Play won't activate unless I do the rest. Any ideas?

You might try Steam's Big Picture mode, they added support for multiple controller versions. Previously, support was limited to the Steam controller or XBox 360 (limited support). It's made specifically for couch playing http://store.steampowered.com/bigpicture/ If you use your PC somewhat exclusively for gaming, you can boot Windows directly into it. https://steamcommunity.com/groups/bigpicture/discussions/1/864958451556578063/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFrL6-OhN94 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uy9-OUTeE7A Also Steam offers a Beta client that often will have the latest features available for testing purposes. It's good to check the updates now and then for anything new coming soon. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/SteamClientBeta#announcements

Could get 3DTV Play to work with the HDMI connector going through my reciever for sound and into my VG278H monitor without any reboot at least. Doesn't really help you but shows that 3DTV Play can work without a reboot.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?

I already use big picture mode for launching games. It doesn't change the fact I have to go through all those other steps though. Having to restart and toggle is more of a recent thing, some kind of a glitch I assume. At the time I think there was some windows update and I had installed the 3D fix manager and messed around with some setting that put windows in test mode. I don't remember if I did that to try and fix the problem or if one of those things may have caused the problem. Regardless I don't want to have to reinstall windows again since I just did that a few months ago. Updating the nvidia drivers didn't help but maybe a full uninstall of the drivers would be the next thing to try. When I say 3DTV Play won't activate unless I do those steps I mean it won't turn on in game. The 3DTV Play setting in the control panel is still on as long as the projector is the only display.
