Dark Souls 2: looks great!

It has shadows issue - they render at wrong depth sometimes. But overal game looks great in 3D. You can easily play it without waiting for fix. Design and realistic monsters make it quite an experience. Ive uploaded few screenshots, see for yourself: http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/mindw0rk/image/5359675bcb857776350000db/ http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/mindw0rk/image/53596769cb8577ba1e000064/ http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/mindw0rk/image/53596776cb85778079000044/

Yeah I'll wait for a fix too, can't really agree that it looks great with dynamic shadows and some effects (for instance lighting a bonfire) at the wrong depth. The good news though is that it runs really well in stereo with everything on full.

Great news, thanks for taking a look! I've been very curious, but stuck at work. I'm really hoping to play this in 3D this weekend. I wonder if the problem shadows can simply be disabled using the Helix mod debugger.

I am waiting for a fix too. So I really hope someone is onto it because this game looks beautiful. Be sure to apply Durante's new fix the downsampling and SSAO changes he has applied literally make it twice as beautiful.... (if you have the machine for it)

In video settings, Shadows OFF helps. You might have to quit, change settings, and reload for the change to take effect.

Yo Dark Souls II in 3D is pretty damn tight. Especially when you pair it with GeDoSaTo for downsampling + SweetFx, SSAO, etc etc. I uploaded some pictures to a gallery. It's pretty damn sweet. http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/Alo81/album/535a2675cb85776e39000105/ I disabled dynamic shadows and Depth of Field. Shadows because they're wrong depth, and DoF because we don't need it, we have real 3D duh!

I think we lucked out on this one. Turning off dynamic shadows doesn't turn off the normal environmental shadows in the game, which are correct in 3D. There is that weird effect when you light a bonfire for the first time, but that will only be a few seconds here and there over the course of the game. I don't see any thing else wrong. Granted, I haven't played very far.

As a result, you'll (for the stamina regen example) these green lines just poking through your body if your character is popping out of the screen. There were a few other small issues, but if we were to get a simple 3D fix that allowed the HUD to be outside the screen and shadows corrected, it would be damn near perfect.

GeDoSaTo works with 3DTV Play. I tried 2560x1440 downsampled to 1280x720. Read the GeDoSaTo Readme, configure the ini and leave everything at 60hz. Once it's configured and running properly, select 2560x1440 in the game's menu. With my single 560Ti I got 30-50 fps with GeDoSaTo vs constant 60 fps without. It definitely looks better downsampled, though with my modest hardware I think I'll be playing it in standard 720p 3D.

Seriously, GeDoSaTo is a god send for 3D. I helped Durante during the testing phases of it, and you wouldn't believe how excited I was when I launched Brothers, rendering at 4k, and displaying at a full 60hz 3D! It looked phenomenal.

Is anyone working on the small issues this game has? This is my favorite franchise in the last 10 years at least. The original Dark souls was pretty much perfect with it's helix fix couple with the DSfix. I don't really want to start a play through of this game without the full experience. ;)

in 2D or 3D Surround, the image quality this time seems to be worse than that of the original. I didn't use the downsampling fix, since I played the game at 5760x1080 as it is.

I played nearly 12 hours today with my friend. With dynamic shadows off, we saw almost nothing wrong. The lock-on crosshair is at screen depth. Some boss rooms have a few broken shadows. The stereoscopic graphics get funky when you light a bonfire for the first time. But the status ring effects that Alo81 mentioned appeared to be at the correct depth to me. It's not perfect, but I think it's excellent out of the box. I think this is an example of the Nvidia automatic 3D driver at it's best. The image quality is a little different than the original, but keep in mind that it runs at any resolution with excellent performance (60fps) without mods, which was not the case with the first Dark Souls. Gameplay is fantastic! Very challenging at times, but extremely exciting when you overcome those challenges. Classic Dark Souls.

It's a bit disconcerting not having shadows for you or enemies, or anything that's animated like swaying trees, and it's a shame to lose the shadows from your torch, but I guess it's not a huge deal in the end. I'll probably just play it as is-with shadows off, and if there's a stereo fix in the future I can enjoy that in NG+.
