Hey guys,
Wondering if there's a fix around for the shadows being broken when using 3D Vision with SLi enabled.
(tried searching google and on forum, the forum search never seems to show me relevant results... probably a user error...)
I bought it not realizing this issue, I did try to research it beforehand and the screenshots looked good. Two separate shadow paths are rendered for some reason, in some places (I've only noticed it's really bad indoors in the "inn" near the beginning of the human storyline) and it's not playable that way at all. I finally disabled SLi just to see what would happen and it fixes the problem but performance is too poor to play without SLI (OC'd 670s).
Any chance using that nVidia inspector thingy and messing with the profile could fix it? I'm not so great at figuring that out.
Thanks for any help :)

Shadows in GW2 have always been wonky (SLI 570s). But they've never hurt my eyes or anything. They've always just been slightly "below" the intended surface, not really eye straining in any way. Anyhow, Just don't worry about it, turn the shadows off, and have fun. You won't miss out on anything by disabling shadows. In fact, I think it looks much better and brighter without them shadows making everything dark.

Thanks EQ,
Yes they are 100% perfect (again; minus the slight depth exaggeration) when SLi is off.
Turn SLi on, and BOOM they are double rendered again.
Thank you
I dont plan to reinstall the game [no offense].
Can try this and might get lucky. TBH, I barely played game but I turned off shadows.

Is it something that has cropped up in newer drivers? I played a toon all the way through to LVL80 with shadows on low/medium with my old 570SLI rig. High/Ultra seemed to break things.
Are they worse now?

I just logged into the game and didn't notice anything unusual and I have a SLI system. I drop shadows down from Ultra to High as I always have and that seems to eliminate whatever minor shadow issues I experience in the game.

Thanks I will try would I just put those in the GW2 folder? I can't seem to unzip anything into that folder for some reason; I clear the read-only attributes but they don't clear for some reason... ARGH

I couldn't tell you I just downloaded and install the game 3 days ago, looking for that MMOness that works with 3D and it seemed to be a great candidate, and a good game from the reviews.

It does to a point only in that there's less shadows and thus less problems :P However with SLi off I don't experience this strange cross-drawing of the shadows. I've attached a JPS. Note that this same area would look "good" with SLi off, just that it runs at 24 FPS with one card; ouch.

You can see without even looking at it in 3D that the two images have totally different shadow rendering.

Yeh, indoors - I forgot about that. 98% of the game is outdoors and does not have these issues but in tha few places indoors you'll see this. A fairly minor distraction. I don't recall the group instances (mainly dungeons) have different lighting and don't suffer from this.
