How to activate 3D in Tomb Raider 2?
Hello :)

I know Tomb Raider 2 is old ^^ But still I can't activate the 3D mode in this game. Is the game known to not harmonize with 3D Vision? Or is there a trick, a patch somehow? I'm using the newest drivers under Windows 7 64! Also tried Windows 7 32....doesn't matter!

Thank you in advance

I don't think 3d-vision supports it but the old school legacy stereodrivers did for sure.

Thanks for the answer. Where can I get those? And I think even Tomb Raider 2 was mentioned in the new drivers and it should work good?!

You're looking at the 3D compatibility list, aren't you? For games that are fairly recent (say around 2009 or later) the list is a pretty good one. Beyond that, it's a total joke. The values for older games weren't just for older drivers, they were for a completely different 3D system called 3D Discover. That system actually supported older versions of DirectX and OpenGL.

To get this to work you'll have to download some very old drivers from before 3D Vision existed. I'm not even sure if they will work with 3D Vision.

Thx for the help! I tried drivers from 2008-2010 but they don't harmonize with the 3D Vision drivers ^^ The old Elsa Revelator drivers shouldn't work due to the 120hz TFT because they were made for CRTs.

So is there no patcher or an emulator for this kind of games?

I wish - I would be playing Deus Ex in 3D right now if there was.

There are mods for Deus Ex, which makes it run in dx9. Haven't tested myself, but you make check out iz3d's forums. It works for sure. As for TR2, my sympathies, unless you get an old CRT monitor+shutters+old Nvidia GPU.

Hi!

There is a Tomb Raider New Years Revolution version out now working on Windows 7 64 without any problems (at least officially).

Does 3D Vision work there? Meaning Tomb Raider 1-5 mostly of course!

Thank you in advance ^^

I haven't played tr1 in stereo myself but you had to run it through glidos for compability with legacy stereodrivers. I have personally played TR2,3,4,5,aod,legend and anniversary in xp/legacy drivers so i know that they at least were supported. I believe aod, legend, anni, underworld and gol are supported by 3d-vision but i'm not certain how far "down" in the series it goes. I wonder if the code is rewritten for dx9? In that case chances are good for 3d-vision.
