3D Vision Setup Wizard crashes
Using 3DTV Play the 3D Vision Setup Wizard crashes with:

Error in Stereo Driver,
NvAPI_Stereo_IsActivate() return 0 after stereo was enabled by default
with Settings->setDefaultStartupMode(true)

I'm using the 285.62 driver.

It's a HDMI 1.4 compliant projector, but not a supported one. 3D blu-ray playback works fine on any of the standard software players (WinDVD, TotalMedia Theatre, etc.). But even with the "Enable stereoscopic 3D" checked in a 3D resolution/refresh rate even the "Test stereoscopic 3D" is not in stereoscopic, and I'm presuming it is because the setup never completed.

I realize game playback in stereoscopic would be poor with 3DTV Play, but honestly I'm more interested in displaying still images than gameplay anyway.

Thanks in advance,
Aaron

I had the exact same problem using an Optoma HD 300x projector. The solution was:
[list=1]
[*]Make a clean install of an older GeForce driver below 280 (use http://downloads.guru3d.com/Nvidia-GeForce-275.50-Win-7-64-bit-download-2738.html ).
[*]Setup Stereo3D using this driver. I needed a faked monitor.inf file for this because the older driver hadn't my projector in the supported devices list.
[*]Update to the newest GeForce driver and setup Stereo3D again.

    Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU.

    The earlier version worked just fine.

    However, upgrading to the new version forces a rerun of the wizard, and the wizard on the new version still crashes. So I went back to the old version again, and I guess I'll stay there for the time being. (Perhaps one day they'll create a new version that does not crash.)

    Thank you again. I've been fighting this for a long, frustrating time.

    You used to be able to work around that error by using task manager to kill setup when the dialog bo was on screen, apparently it's already enabled 3DVision at that point, and doesn't disable it until the dialog closes.
