No option to enable stereoscopic 3d in nvidia control panel?
  1 / 2
Hi, I'm really confused. I just bought a 3d vision 2 kit, and my laptop is supposed to be 3d capable. I am supposed to go into the NVidia control panel to enable stereoscopic 3d, but there is no option there for me to do that. I have 3d settings, display, and video, but no stereoscopic 3d option. anyone know what is going on with my control panel?

Same here, just bought the ASUS G750 Series G750JZ-DS71 with the intention of taking 3dvision on the road, and no luck yet. Have tried an external emitter, but it just goes black. Maybe this is relevant . . . researching . . . http://3dvision-blog.com/5532-nvidia-optimus-technology-and-3d-vision-dont-go-well-together/ hopping mad. Welp, the Oculus Rift will still be in 3d off the 880 chipset :p Would a displayport 3d capable monitor work maybe?

@Donny, What is the make and model of your Laptop, it is NVidia 3D Vision Certified?? @rowan, Your is NOT a 3D Vision certified Laptop so it will NOT work Perhaps ONLY with a External 3D Certified Monitor??

I bought the Asus G750JH, (full model is G750JH-DS73-CA), and according to the manufacturer's own website it supports Nvidia 3D Vision. The retailer's site and staff that sold it to me assured me that it is also 3D Vision compliant. https://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/ASUS_ROG_G750JH/ If they market it saying they do support it, but it doesn't, then they're misleading the consumer. Not cool. How exactly does it support Nvidia 3D Vision? Am I missing something? I bought this thing for the 3D functionality, and by the sounds of it so did you rowan_u, so we should be hopping mad. I'm still holding out hope it's something simple though. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make the option for stereoscopic 3D appear in the Nvidia control panel? Best regards.

The Other guys laptop has a NVidia GPU but is NOT or from what I saw on the website NOT 3D Certified.. Lets goto your Device Manager and look under Display Adapter, Screenshots will be Most Helpful if you could post them it helps a lot.. So Post a Screenshot of your Device manager Open "Display Adpater" and under Monitors lets see what Windows Recognises them as.. You should get Both those items in the Device manager in 1 Screenshot.. WE can go from there..

Hi The_Nephilim, thank you for responding. In device manager under display adapters the only item is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M. Should I drill down and pull any further useful info that may help? Thanks.

Install the latest drivers from the nVidia site.

Yeah, chances are good they just installed the drivers on the machine and didn't include the 3D Vision drivers along with them. Once that gets done, you'll need to run the little test app to get 3D Vision up and running.

It will go into 120hz mode at least, but absolutely no 3dvision support. Terrible. If you're using a laptop, odds are it's using Optima. This means the HDMI port is hooked up to a secondary Intel chip, instead of the nVidia one. Unfortunately this means you can't output 3d over HDMI.

Another thought: Is this same issue going to prevent G-sync from working properly also? Another another thought: Is this same issue going to add latency to Oculus Rift?

It would almost certainly affect G-Sync. No idea about the Rift, though it's possible.
