not a good monitor, ghosting level is high (sry, but i cant stand ghosting, it ruins the experience) , and takes too much time turning on or changing signal, color isn't as vivid as other competitors, if you are planning on getting this monitor, you can get the samsung monitor for almost the same price, or a bit higher, but it totally worth it, im telling this because i had this monitor (acer) a couple of months ago, i ended up returning it and bought the planar one (lovin' it) it uses the same screen as the samsung one. and with the money i saved i finally got my gtx 580 direct cu 2 /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Not sure what pancake master is talking about, but the Acer is a really nice monitor. Sure, there is some ghosting, but I wouldn't say it was "high" by any means. The boot up time is annoying, and it doesn't display the POST, so that is a valid point. I've heard good things about the Planar, I'd like to try that one out next. But even if the Planar is better, I don't think the Acer is bad by any means.

Agreed. Anyone complaining about ghosting on this thing hasn't seen an earlier 120 Hz LCD like the Samsung 2233rz I used to own....yeesh.
The boot up time I also agree with....I just tested off/on and it's 17 seconds. Way too long. Aside from that though it's an absolutely gorgeous monitor with relatively little ghosting compared to some other LCDs. The only way I really notice ghosting with it is when I'm 2 feet away or less and in a very bright white room - watching any movie from 6+ feet away results in zero ghosting. Also, unlike with the 2233rz, I am actually able to play Portal 1 and Mirror's Edge without a mess of white ghosting everywhere.
Of course if you're comparing it to something like DLP or projection, it's going to look bad for ghosting, but most LCDs will.

Yes finally in stock. Just ordered mine from amazon. From what I read over on hard forum re the samsung 27 this is so far the best choice for Nvidia owners who want larger monitor. The 3d discussion there is scary! http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1608858&page=12

The Samsung 27" doesn't support 3D Vision and the Planar is only 23".
If you can come up with an equally priced 27" 3D monitor that supports 3D Vision then we're talking but your advice makes no sense at all.

FYI.. I just got my hn274h yesterday from Amazon/Tiger and regarding the posting issue, mine shows bios boot splash screens imediately (provided i have not powered off the monitor, in which case it takes 17 to 20seconds to turn on). Maybe they changed the firmware or something else in this latest production run. My manufacture date is week 21 , 2011 and the edid revision is 1.3

Some ghosting is noticeable for a first few minutes but after that I have to look hard to notice
Overall I'm very very happy with these monitors
