jerky 3d image with or with out 3d glasses
I am running ubuntu 10.04 with a quadro 4000 gpu, nvidia's 3d vision glasses an acer GD235hz monitor, and driver version 195.36.24. The gpu and emitter are synced via the 3 pin connector as directed. Through many trials and tribulations (and many edits to my xorg.conf file), I got 3d viz to work, ... sort of. (xorg.conf has stereo set to 10 and composite set to off). Approximately every 2 seconds the image jumps on the screen. It's almost as if the double image is lost for a split second. It is visible with and with out the glasses. Nothing weird is showing up in /var/log/Xorg.0.log and I don't know what else to look for.

What I have noticed is that when I turn off "force full gpu scaling" in Nvidia x-server settings, the glitch goes away and the refresh rate jumps up from 99hz to 120. However with gpu-scaling off, the glasses do not work (as if they are not receiving a signal), even though the emitter is bright green.

Any help would be much appreciated.

xorg.conf and Xlog.0.log files available upon request.

EDIT: Nevermind! I had downloaded the latest driver a couple of days ago and thought I had installed it properly. Just now I looked back at the driver and found that it was dated 2010. Apparently the update failed and I had not upgraded as I had thought. I tried the install again and low and behold everything works.
