What kind of cables are we talking about. As far as you have said the card has a mini hdmi slot. Did you get an adapter or does your cables plug directly into the card. Is one cable (male + female i.e. an extention cable?)

I wasn't really expecting male/male bonding. I'm clearly outside my confort zone but it is strange that the projector does not identify itself to your computer. I would expect that using either DVI or HDMI i.e. digital connections.

You are probably the only active poster on this forum that has that particular projector model. Looking at the lists on nvidia's homepage it appears to be supported but if it does not work as intended and you have exhausted any possible user error you personally know of I think it is time to return it and try your luck with a different projector or return it for cash if possible. I wouldn't be satisfied with a 3D projector that wouldn't work in 3D.

All Displays have an eeprom that stores the EDID. Windows automatically aquires it when the display is connected. If it doesn't, it defaults to plug and play. If you did an EDID override, it will use it whenever the display is connected. So if you did an EDID override, remove it. Reboot. Right click on your desktop, select screen resolution, does it list your display? Try clicking on detect. A blank screen is usually due to the display is out of range. Meaning a resolution has been chosen/defaulted to, that the display can not show. What operating system are you using? Which GPU? Does your motherboard or cpu have integrated graphics? Are you using a laptop or desktop?

Not sure how much I can help, Windows 8 is a lil different. This tutorial made by Bloody over at the 3D Vision blog may help. It's for W8 http://3dvision-blog.com/tag/edid-override/ >>>>First you should try windows update, sometimes they release monitor drivers or newer version drivers thru it.<<<<< If it's not being recognized, I'd assume that there may be a problem with your cable(s) or the input/output port. There's an id pin that needs a completed path, if it has an open in the path it defaults to generic CRT/Plug and Play. They make DVI to HDMI cables and adapters, your choice. I use the cable version myself. Try to get one that is labeled "High Speed" So my thought is your HDMI port on the card is malfunctioning or the cable is bad. So that's why I'm suggesting going DVI to HDMI. (and yes, it will pass audio if so desired) That is if enabled and not disabled in the Nvidia control panel.

Also, do you have another display that you can connect using the two cables that you are using now? Is it recognized OK? How about a PS3, connect it, download a game Demo that's 3D, like Killzone or something. Does the PS3 play it in 3D ok?

Woody, Do you by any chance know anyone who owns a geforce card? Just thought you might bring the projector, cables and 3D Vision dongle and try it on another computer to troubleshoot the problem further. I'm talking trying to get the projector to work on a different computer without resorting to any edid-hack.
