3dtv play 3dtv play will not recognize my supported 3dtv
I have been using 3dtv play with a vizio E3D420VX 42 inch passive display for almost a year now. I decided to upgrade to a vizio E3D470VX 47 inch passive. Now I do not have the 3dtv play icon in nvidia control panel. In control panel it recognizes the 3d display as a HDMI blu-ray 3d. If I re-install 3dtv play activation utility it installs but doesn't walk me through setup and entering the key code. I have tried Ge-force 296.10 Driver WHQL and GeForce 301.24 Driver BETA drivers and used Monitor Asset Manager to manually install the EDID for the vizio E3D470VX. I have also tried installing LG 42LW4500 Passive 3D HDTV EDID which is supported by 3dtv play and roller11's mod (EDID LG) which worked but was labeled in nvidia stereo settings as a zalman which my tv cant display correctly.. None of these have put 3dtv play logo in the nvidia control panel. Any ideas?

I would open a support ticket because they don't monitor this that way. I would return it before the return time is up if you have trouble getting support. I have an avr sitting in the box because I thought being listed as supported with a driver posted next to it reflected a "tested good" status on my avr. Good lookin out guy!

run the 3dtvplay activation installer thingy again (mine is version 266.7 and about 5MBytes (even though i use newer drivers)) as *administrator* and go through it. it will not ask for a key again (it stays in the registry). do *not* open nvidia control panel. shutdown. switch off monitor. power monitor back on. power pc up. check in nvidia control panel for 3dtvplay logo.
if it's not there... then the 47 is not supported and you must request addition with a support ticket. send them your full moninfo base and extension blocks if you do to speed things up.
let us all know how you get on... (does the logo come back when you go bnack to the smaller screen?)

I sold the 42 inch Vizio and bought the 47 inch Vizio the same day so it is gone. I finally got my E3D470VX to work. I tried your suggestion and there was no 3dtv play logo. I had to find the INF for the E3D420VX 42 inch (my old 3d tv) on the internet. I went to control panel and updated display monitor driver manually. I selected "have disk" and browsed to where I had downloaded the E3D420VX INF. Once I had win 7 saying my display was a E3D420VX display I restarted my computer. Then I went into nvidia control panel and saw that my old 3dtv E3D420VX was displayed in nvidia control panel display settings. Then I ran the 3dtvplay activation installer as admin then restarted computer and 3dtv play logo was there. I have found out that if I change nvidia graphics card drivers that I have to go through this all over again. I tried this with my current tv's INF "E3D470VX" but it doesn't work. Thanks for the suggestions!

at least you're working now /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
if you're technically insane - you could maybe use moninfo's merge feature and phoenix edid editor to create a 'best of both worlds' .inf... the base block from the small...and the extras off the large... or vice-versa... i do that for my TVs picture and my receiver's audio - it's the only way to be sure.
i always create a full base+extension .inf for my sammy's and my receiver... this plug n play rubbish is no better than a decade ago.
on driver changes/upgrades:
1) remove 'edid' fake monitor driver with 'delete' checkbox checked
2) reboot and it'll go back to 'plague 'n' pray' generic
3) update geforce drivers
4) stay away from nvcpl
5) reboot
6) update with killer 'fake edid' inf
7) reboot
^that is my procedure and it's flawless every time.
