Played it a bit and was happy to see true dual rendering and not that crap from Deus Ex or Crysis 2.

You must be playing a different bf3 to me then, where is the depth to the scenery?, where is any depth other than the gun model?, even the gun looks fake, there is no depth, and i have turned the iremitter wheel up as high as it goes which obviously brings shadow ghosting issues in the game scene. There is no 3D menu in the video settings. Sorry, but it's still pants, imho. It looks flat.

[*]There is no built-in menu option for 3D on NVIDIA. Simply enable Stereoscopic 3D from our Control Panel and toggle 3D on / off inside the game using CTRL-T or by pressing the button on the emitter. This was a decision from DICE to leave off the Settings option for NVIDIA
[*]If you want to adjust depth use the hotkeys or depth wheel
[*]Depth is automatically reduced when you are inside a vehicle as designed by DICE.

Just for the sake of being thorough, can someone run the game in both single player and multiplayer and confirm if the rendering is identical or not?
I have to agree with IC3D, save the gun model, 3D looks pretty flat. It does not look like the 3D depth and popout that we are accustomed to in Battlefield Bad Company 2. BUT, I only tried multiplayer...which to me had the added problem of being unstable.

Hi Andrew,
What about ghosting around the weapon and the locked convergence settings? I am using Allienware 2310. Thanks.

Finally.
Looks all right in Singleplayer. A bit of a frame drop but I turned off AA (was 2x) and set the texture detail to medium (was high) and it's running fine now.
Also no ghosting for me (yet) on an Acer GN245HQbmid. But I only played for like 20min.
Only problem I have is that my monitor still thinks I'm in 3D mode after closing the game. (latest Beta driver)

Had a chance to test it out a bit in SP Campaign, I see there's already a lot of feedback:
1) Performance is as expected for me and a bit worst than BFBC2 in 3D, generally around 40-50FPS, drops to 30s at times, rarely capped at 60FPS. GPU Utilization anywhere from 85-90%, not many drops. VRAM usage is incredibly high in this game though like Crysis 2, so you may want to drop MSAA and/or texture detail if you are close to your card's VRAM limits to avoid the choppiness you get from texture swapping. I dropped from 4x to 2x and that improved the jerkyness a good bit, although frame rates are still in the 40s-50s. I may turn off MSAA completely and just rely on FXAA for the campaign if it can get me closer to 60FPS. You can also try closing out FRAPs as that had a somewhat subjective impact on smoothness. Just make sure to close FRAPs before you start the game or you'll get a BF3.exe stopped responding.
2) Overall 3D is Very Good imo. Better depth than Crysis 2 imo at ~60% Depth compared to 100% Depth in Crysis 2. MUCH better than the ultimate example of flat 3D (Deus Ex HR). The 3D effects are not perfect however. The ADS Holo/crosshairs are just slightly off, and I get very slight double image when focusing on targets behind the crosshairs. This could be fixed very easily if DICE allowed adjustments to convergence and probably give a better sense of 3D in the process. Also, there are some shadow effects that are only rendered in one eye. One eye will have a harder shadow, the other will have a softer one (will attach screenshot). Would've been nice also if they made some of the HUD elements 3D and slightly sunk-in screen. Text/subttitles are 2D, but pretty much everything else is in 3D like character nameplates, contextual mission cues etc.
I will probably not even bother to play this in 3D in MP, not on Fermi generation hardware anyways. The framerates are just way too low, and I'm in the 70-80 range a good bit on some of the more intense maps even in 2D, can't imagine trying to cope with 30-40FPS in 3D. Mouse movement is noticeabely jerkier in 3D and less accurate as well.
I wonder if Thales100 original hack will work to unlock Convergence for this game, since that's what it seems to do in some others. Stops/restarts the 3D stereo service and prevents the game from blocking the stereo driver's controls.
Anyway, here's a few pics, like I said overall I think the 3D is Very Good, needs Convergence unlocked to make it Excellent or 3D Ready imo. First pic just shows the 3D effects, second pic shows the shadow artifacting in one eye (check under the balconys on the buildings).

Better than I expected! Second mission of single player where you fly was more impressive now.

Single player was fully playable with same graphic settings than before. Multiplayer with bigger maps twitched some times, but was very much playable.

Yes there is Depth beyond the gun Model. I played the game and I got my usual sense of vertigo while looking off a high building. There is no pop out and with this game I can understand the locked convergence. Other than ghosting (which is an issue with my monitor hoping my Sony HMD will rectify this) I have no issues and am satisfied with thier implementation.
I would definitely appreciate improvement over time though.

I am getting all of those as well: crosshairs are off resulting in double image and strange (but subtle) shadow effects. Attached are a few screenshots which show the problem with the crosshairs:

I have to agree with IC3D, save the gun model, 3D looks pretty flat. It does not look like the 3D depth and popout that we are accustomed to in Battlefield Bad Company 2. BUT, I only tried multiplayer...which to me had the added problem of being unstable.

I can confirm convergence is locked right now, that is expected. Hopefully we can get it added in another patch.

I am getting all of those as well: crosshairs are off resulting in double image and strange (but subtle) shadow effects. Attached are a few screenshots which show the problem with the crosshairs:
