try try and try again 85hz dlp's! cant get them to work...arghhhh
Hi all,

newbie here. Ive spent the last two weeks doing a hell of alot of reading both at work and at home and for the life of me i cant get my 3dvision kit to work with either of my projectors.

i work for a games dev department and we are looking into purchasing some 3d gear but what interested me most was the possibility of using projectors instead of 22" lcd monitors.

I am using a quadro fx570 with a usb 3dvision kit though I have also tried a gtx470 with no luck.

At first I thought they would work with my sanyo xu50 but after some research i realised it would not work with lcd projectors even though it would work at 100/120hz.

I then tried two dlp projectors - an infocus lp550 and a hp vp6110, both of which support 85hz but the HP seemed to support 100 and 120hz also!

Since these projectors are not on the compatibility list i did the dvi adapter pin removal trick and also used modified projector drivers.

but whenever i run the wizard it doesnt show up a compatible display device so i set it up as a generic crt....i noticed in some modes it did nothing and in others i would see some flickering but not any 3d depth.

Am I missing a step in the setup process? when using the quadro card i did also set the correct 3d settings under the manage 3d tab i.e generic crt with usb emitter and enable stereo....have also tried other modes but made no difference.

i did notice when i tried the gtx470 when i ran though the wizard this time the screen would refresh really slow....i mean real slow i could see one frame hexagon one frame triangle etc....

any body have any ideas?

one thing i will try doing next is replacing the 10+m vga cable as i read somewhere that it might be causing some delay? even though ive never had any issues feeeding 720p over it in the last 4yrs i'm thinking there may be some delay sending the higher hz signal down the lead and thus issues syncing the glasses with the display?

i am able to trick the wizard by selecting the right answers to finish so that i can get to the stereoscopic test and settings but nothing ive selected and tested seemed to work.....
