8400 GS -> Samsung UE55" 8000 series no 3D Can´t get it to work
Hi!
I have treated myself to a nice new 3D-TV but I cant seem to get 3D from my PC. I dont play games I only wish to watch movies (MKVs) and Blu-Rays.
I currently have a GeForce 8400 GS wired with a Supra DVI-HDMI cable to the screen. I have the "3D Vision CD for Desktop GPUs v1.44" installed but when I try to go through the 3D-vision setup wizard, and get 4 choices I dont know which to choose ("USB IR emitter and glasses", "Wired glasses", Pro hub and glasses" or "Discover glasses" but non seem to fit my case as I have no emitter etc. I have tried the latter but fail the test later on...
Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? It feels like I have tried everything and Im getting desperate :-(

Well the 8400 gs is an OLD card I don't think it's even 3d compatible.
I can't wait until I'm done with college. So I can cure this empty wallet syndrome, that college has caused.

Hi,
OK, I see, what card whould you recomend for me that works? I dont play games and the only task is 3D movies and I wish it to be as small, cool and quiet as possible?
Also, is it at all possible to get 3D through DVI-HDMI cable? I have heard different oppinions about that

I'd say get a geforce gts 250, or something similar. Pretty cheap now, and will run blu-ray movies no problem.
About your 3d dilemma. You can use "Discover" mode, which is anaglyph(red/blue) for free, but I don't know if it will output to TV. Give it a shot. If you really want to stream 3d movies to your tv you'll need to purchase the 3dTV Play driver from Nvidia since you don't own the 3d vision set. But I think there are alternatives as well. IZ3d, Tridef also have drivers to buy that will output true 3d to a tv. You'll have to do your research, and find out whats best for your situation. /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':biggrin:' />
