Yes its unfortunate that company politics have gotten in the way here to interrupt the end-user experience, but in the end companies do have to look out for their own best interests. Generally with big ticket items like this, its best to do a bit of research before buying, especially if it can lead to the kind of angst, frustration, and disappointment of finding out after the fact that support or features just aren't what you expected.

As for ATI and 3D, best of luck with that, in the meantime you can use DDD with Skyrim in 3D, its just not as good as the Nvidia 3D options (with HeliX mod).

Yes, that is true & I thought I did the research by confirming the monitor was 3D ready. I didn't realise for it to be NVIDIA 3D READY, that it's a while different story. I didn't actually buy the monitor for 3D, but it would be nice to be able to at least play 3D movies (can I still do this?).

What's DDD???? Oh, Tri Def. When I add Skyrim to the launcher and try to play it, I get an error that it's not a Direct X 9, 10 or 11 game or something like that.

Cinder,

Tridef sucks compared to 3D Vision, I don't ever use it.

The S27A950D monitor works like a charm with 3D Vision using drivers 285.52 in Generic CRT mode. Since Nvidia has ditched Generic CRT mode, than you need a new workaround to make this monitor work with 3D Vision using newer drivers. I'll PM you later about this.

Note: You must have a 3D Vision emitter connected to your PC though. You won't use Nvidia glasses, but you need the emitter.

Hmm it would bother me to use the same drivers and never being able to update. As for Tridef lol there are to many games that look better with Tridef then 3d Vision. I like NV better also but Tridef is not going anywhere.

I know it would. You can update drivers and use this monitor with 3DV, no worries. I just don't think here is the right place to talk about how to do this, don't you agree? It's not of Nvidia interest that users can play 3D Vision games with the much superior competitor product S27A950D. I will respect Nvidia in this matter, business matter.

AMD/ATI is still miles away from 3D Vision in games support and better otimization and I think it's going to be like that for quite some time. AMD/ATI doesn't make their own 3D glasses so that's why Samsung supports Tridef which supports ATI HD3D. What sucks is that Nvidia doesn't allow a 3D monitor to be 3D Vision Ready if doesn't use the Nvidia glasses for playing 3D games. Samsung glasses are very very good and much lighter than Nvidias and use a superior tech, bluetooth instead of infrared which means no flickering, so you won't miss 3D Vision glasses, but you must have the kit, cause you always need the 3DV emitter connected to your PC as a hardware dongle. You must use Samsung glasses with the S27A950D and for that reason, Nvidia will never tolerate that players use it to play 3D Vision games even if the user has a 3D Vision kit just like me. I don't agree with that, but I understand their business relations to have taken this decision to not support the S27A950D product despite that it's 100% capable of running 3D Vision games at 1080p 120hz in frame sequential mode with very good crosstalk level and a very bright 3D picture.

I still find a waste that the best 3D monitor out there supports the crappy Tridef DDD and is not "oficially supported by 3D Vision". I am pretty sure this Samsung monitor is the best 3D true 120hz solution in the market, I have no doubts about that. The Asus AG278H is no match for this monitor in my opinion and I've seen both.

If you don’t update the drivers past 285.52 to use the Generic CRT mode how do you get updates to run new games in 3D or does it just automatically work?

You have to update drivers, that's the only way you get new profiles for the newest 3D Vision games. I'm not using Generic CRT mode anymore, since its no longer available with the newer drivers, but there are other ways...

Here is not the right place to discuss this, since it's not of Nvidia's interest how to enable 3D Vision using this monitor as the S27A950D is a competitor product unfortunately, cause in my opinion it is the best 3D 27" monitor in the market.

Googled by "S27A950D nvidia", read the topic through and haven't find a solution, sorry if missed. Is it possible to achieve 3D in any game but Crysis 3? I've got Medal of Honour:Warfighter and Battlefield 4 crashes after start through TriDef. Upgraded my PC to Inno3D iChill GT770 and Win 8 64 bit Monitor with is connected with DisplayPort half of a year ago, maybe something changed since. Previously on Win 7 Home Basic 32 bit and Radeon 5750 everything run in 3D slow but properly on MoH, BF3 and CS:GO %) Any ideas how to fix with drivers, some soft or buying 3D glasses kit from NVidia? Thanks in advance :)
