New Setup - Games Help
I use a Z800 HMD for my 3d viewing and I just upgraded my PC to a dual core and switched graphics cards from the 7800gs to the 7800GTX. I am using software and drivers 91.31 (As far as I know last verion to support my HMD) and some games are working great in stereoscopic but a couple that were working before with my old system now crash and lock up the new system when the sterescopic drivers are engaged. They are Half Life 2 and Dark Messiah. Any thoughts why these games would no longer work with this setup? Using XP service pack 3 DirectX 9c.
Doom 3, Tron 2.0, Elite Force II, Jedi Knight games work fine.

Thanks for your help.

dual core maybe?

there are posts around here somewhere on how to disable the second core. I would try that.

It's a brand new PC with fresh OS all patched up and latest SP.

Lots of good things to try in there. i didn't realize dual core was such an issue. Sounds like for some games I need to disable 1 proc. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

BTW I finally broke down and bought the IZ3D so I could play the newer games in 3D. Cool, but still not half as cool as an HMD. Boo to NVIDIA I say!
