Looking at playing 3D Blu-rays on PC Would appreciate some feedback
I really don't want to spring for another expensive television since my Samsung looks great for regular content. Since I already have the Alienware 3D-ready monitor and the 3D Vision kit I was wanting some advice on what I else I should get.

1. What's a good choice for a Blu-ray internal drive for my PC to play 3D movies?

2. What's considered the top software to get to play 3D movies?

I am looking to buy this when the after Christmas sales start.

Thanks in advance!

Pretty much any 4X BD-ROM drive will do (I think technically a 2X will work too, but I use 4X). You don't need to buy a special "3D Blu-Ray" drive. This is the one I've got, seems to work well:

I think the best program for 3D Blu-Ray is Total Media Theater 3, but PowerDVD 10 is also pretty good.

Arcsoft Total Media Theater 5 is also good. It is much better than Total Media Theater 3. Just give it a try and see for yourself if you like TMT5 or PDVD10.

I got me a LG BD drive installed and it plays BD movies flawlessly. When I try to run a 3D Blu-ray in 3D with Cyberlink PowerDvD 10 Ultra, however, it plays the movie in the upper left hand window and looks distorted. Anyone know how to fix this? I have spent a couple hours trying to figure it out on my own and I feel like I just threw a bunch of money into the garbage...

*EDIT*

I got it working finally. I went into the control panel and disabled AF,AA, and set SLI to single GPU for powerDVD10.exe. I am not sure what exactly fixed it but it seems to be working for now. I picked up a copy of a Christmas Carol in 3D and it looks decent like in the theater but no where near as good as games obviously. I wanted a BD drive on my PC and figured I could use it to watch 3D movies since I already had the other required hardware.

I don't suppose anyone knows of a convergence or depth hack for movies? /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
