Youtube in 3D 3D View Style
Some Youtube videos can play in 3D. However they do not work with the 3D vision glasses. Is there anyway you guys know of to make them work?

Here is a example: LINK
You will see a "3D View Style:" below the video.

Youtube would have to support interlaced video that is compatible with 3d vision.

Until that day, we are SOL. :)

It's way, way, way more complicated than that. In the Youtube 3D formats there's already the type which 3D Vision could use. It would have to be coded specifically for Nvidia and would come in the form of a 'fully-trusted' IE Add-on which would have to be packaged with a software in a setup package. It would need to be 'real' fullscreen DirectX and access the API of 3D Vision to Sync the frames with the goggles. There's no way it could happen as you can guess.

The only way 3D YouTube with 3D Vision could happen is if Nvidia improve their 3D Vision driver. I.e.: Allowing windowed non-DirectX S3D AND sensing S3D content on screen (alternatively allowing the user to flip a switch with a hot-key).

Youtube does support interlaced video (windowed only so far) which works with 3D vision on 3DTVs that support interlaced 3D input.
120Hz pageflipping isn't supported though this is a flash limitations.

Nvidia should develop a plugin to grab the DirectX side by side video feed (I read flash uses directX for fullscreen mode) and convert it to 120Hz pageflipping on the fly for 3D vision on 120Hz LCD monitors.
iZ3D already did it for it's own monitor, nvidia could do the same.

As BlackShark said, its technically possible but I doubt Nvidia will go through the trouble.

well there is a way to get yt3d videos to work...
just download them and play it with stereoscopic player

but to get a really good experience, you need to download the hd version of the videos

I tried to reply to this post about 4 times last night, but the high quality official nvidia forum was broked again

Anyway, download the Download Helped plugin for firefox (required greasemonkey), then download the high quality mp4 files from the youtube side by side 3d videos. Open those videos in Peters Stereoplayer or the official nvidia 3d video player, and you're good to go. I've built up a small collection of crapty 3d videos this way.

Hi there,

I only just got my 3d Vision kit, and am really enjoying it.

I did follow your steps to the letter, bet when it comes to playing 3d videos in either the Nvidia or Peter's Steroplayer, all I'm left with are two videos playing side by side. What kind of settings do I have to choose in the player to make them work for 3d Vision?

Thanks so much and All the Best!

You gotta set the display mode to "nvidia 3d vision" in peters stereoplayer, then select "side by side interlaced" (usually) for the video, then go full screen. That's it.

Well, there seem to be two side by side interlaced options, starting with either left or right... Which one should I choose? As of now, it still doesn't do it for me...

Guys - one little tipp for u all:

Give a youtube-loader a chance !!!

Download the video in highest quality - as u can see (when u open it with VLC or some else video player): the right and the left picture are included in this file !!!
Now try to open this file with the 3D Vision Player ! No chance ??? Convert it with some videoconverter !!! Now open it again with the 3D Vision player ...
It works !!! (Last tipp: if you think the file is rendered at wrong depth - use the function where u can switch between the left and the right picture showing first and second !!!)

IT WORKS FINE !!! (but the video quality is not the best - but often dvd-like !!!)

If you'd like iz3D drivers to support 3D Vision goggles, please log in and vote positively to the poll. Maybe they wouldn't add support themselves, but maybe they could release a small API which would let us know when to shutter the 3D Vision goggle properly and sync with the iz3D drivers.

Thanks!
