Hey guys!
Just wondering about Windows 8 and 3D Vision, do you like it compared to say Win 7 whitch I use ?
Been reading about how DX11.2 will just be on Win8 so I just wanted to hear about how well Win8 is for gaming and 3d vision in general I guess :)
I know that it will take time for DX11.2 game to come if any will but thats another story :)
Windows 8 is fine, 3d vision works on it as well as it does on windows 7. The windows 8 service pack 1 is coming out soon too, which is generally a large improvement in usability and stability/security for MS operating systems. People bitch about the new interface but I can't understand why. But I've used every version of windows since 1, so it changing UI is nothing new to me.

Okey good to hear guys and about the start menu, yeah I have seen people complain about the lack of it but if I remember the new update Win 8.1 should brink back the start menu and I will look into StartIsBack so thanks a lot guys :)

Alright ooch, same crap then hehe.
Thanks Pirateguy then I will hold off Win 8 a while and by if I upgrade to it I will look into the StartlsBack as you said :)

I didn't say hold off - it's a perfectly functional OS, once configured correctly. That said, there's no pressing need to upgrade if you're already on 7.

I would skip it, unless it comes with your computer and you don't have a Windows 7. Is only way I'd recommend it.
Seriously, who is testing anything for windows 8? Not to mention backwards compatibility gets harder and harder. Its a headache imo. Whenever someone has an issue with Windows 8, its hard to find help just because most people arent bothering with it.
I'm not sure if its still true but you don't see windows 8 mentioned on any steam game pages.

Seems a bit pointless for them to do this. What kind of moron who builds their own gaming system puts Windows 8 on it? More importantly, why would game devs even bother making their game compatible with an OS no one cares for.

Well I'm pretty sure its got real good GPU optimization on the latest DX. CPU's are ridiculously expensive and offers much less for gamin so building a console around 11.1 [No idea what .2 is] sounds good. But yeah... Im not really sure what this says for pc gaming because a direct port of a game would be 11.1[or 2? No idea if article is accurate since I never heard of it]. So it would require 8... No idea if they plan on forcing windows 8 adoption or they don't care about pc.
Yeah, I think windows 7 was better then xp as well. XP was "revolutionary" but 7 is still better. Everything between XP->7 was terrible though imo.

It seems clear to me that Win7 is Microsoft's most fully resolved OS to date, the fruit of them learning from their many mistakes of the past. While Win8 is basically just Win7 with an experimental touch-oriented overlay - a desperate last-ditch effort to keep Microsoft's foothold on personal computing from being even further swallowed by ios and android.
So I'd say the choice is easy: why ditch their most resolved OS for one with teething problems unless you have to? Sounds like we won't have to for a while yet. I imagine that many of us will skip 8 and get 9, just like many of us skipped Vista.
Though I don't get the hulabaloo about the start menu - I can't believe anyone actually ever used it, let alone considered it essential. If you miss mousing around a huge, unresponsive and clunky menu, you need to get better at using your keyboard, IMO.

Go use a Win 8 PC and if you can make it half an hour without puking everywhere then you are more patient than me.
