Can't turn of 3d in game or default with driver for GTX 680
I can't play Star craft 2 or League of legends because I can't turn off 3d effect. Ever since I updated to Windows 8.1 my games went into 3d mode automatically. I have tried turning 3D off in Star craft 2 but it did not work, and League of legends doesn't even have the option. It also says my drivers are up-to-date. So, I pulled up the NVIDIA Control Panel where it only has the three trees of "3D Settings", "Display", and "Video"...here is the crazy part, I have searched everywhere in all of them and there is nowhere to turn off stereoscopic 3D. Everyone says to just turn on the "stereoscopic 3D"....it doesn't exist. All i have under "3D Settings" is global settings and program settings where you can modify "features"....nowhere does it say stereoscopic anywhere. Under the "3D Settings" tree are three branches, "Adjust image setting with preview", Manage 3D settings", and Configure Surround, PhysX"....I have searched through them all and no sign of stereoscopic 3D. How in the worl can I get my graphics card (GTX 680) to STOP messine around with 3D?????????

The 3D settings aren't under '3D Settings' they're under 'Stereoscopic 3D'. If you really don't have that section I'd suggest doing a clean driver install ... and if for some strange reason that doesn't work there are settings in the registry that can be changed.

You say that League of Legends doesn't have a 3D option. But did you try just pressing Ctrl-T? That shortcut is a direct Nvidia shortcut for toggling 3D on and off, and should work in every game. Though turning it off at the driver level like you're trying to do in the control panel is probably the best option, as the Ctrl-T method still leaves the driver on, which may still drain some resources. TsaebehT's advice is spot on. But for a more convenient method of turning on/off 3D, try the 3D toggler utility

Seems to be a known problem: http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3367 It also sounds like you don't have 3D on your system in general. If you don't ever need it, you can uninstall the 3D Vision driver. Or do a clean-install driver update, and uncheck the 3D drivers during install.

Here's how to perform a clean install: http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2900/ ... and/or if you want to remove 3D Vision altogether just uncheck the '3D Vision Driver', you might also be able to go to 'add/remove programs' and uninstall the 'NVIDIA 3D Vision Driver' from there.
