3D vision / gtx460 problems
I cannot seem to get the 3D vision hard /software solution to work on my system. That is:

Dell XPS, I7 with Gforce GTX 460
Acer GD245HQ monitor (for 3D, as main monitor) and another Dell 24 inch monitor (not 3D capable)
Windows 7 home

I´ve bought 3D vision glasses with drivers 1.18

What I´ve done so far:

I´ve tried installing the graphics driver software that comes with the glasses, but get the error message: You are running a 32bit version of Nvidia uninstaller

on a 64 bit system"

So instead, I installed the latest drivers (266.58) on the system.
Since the IR emitter stayed red, I also installed the Geforce 3D Vision software from the CD that comes with the glasses (this time no error message)
I skip all parts that warns me that a newer driver would be overwritten.
After installing the USB driver (as automatic part of the CD software installation), the IR emitter turns green.

Strangely, the program that usually comes up to test the glasses does not start (where can I find that for a manual start)?



Then I installed the demo programs.

But when I now start the demo, the demo movie shows me a split screen with two pictures half sized horizontally.
If I use an external viewer, the pictures are also shown with a split screen, this time over each other.
It looks like the hardware is not recognized correctly.

I hope somebody can help..

Download the 3D vision full CD drivers from nvidia and use all the drivers from there, including the display drivers. You'll also see in that archive is the USB drivers for the emitter. Uninstall everything nvidia related and run the 3D vision setup in the archive and install the drivers that way, then manually install the emitter drivers via the control panel->device manager.

Thank you, I did download the "NVIDIA_3D_Vision_Desktop_CD_v1.45_WHQL_International" file, uninstalled all nvidia drivers and reinstalled them, then installed the 3D drivers from that CD download. That process seems to also install the USB IR emitter, as it turned green.

Unfortunately, nothing changed - the system still does not work in 3D. Where can I start the test program that was executed in older versions (the one that tests the monitor, the glasses (with the cube and the triangle pic), and such).

One other strange thing is that if I try to set a display resolution to 1920x1200, 120 Hertz, the monitor (Acer GD245HQ) will not recognize this and not display anything. I believe I´ve connected the correct (Dual link DVI) cable - is there any visual way to verify this? I have seen 3D on this monitor before, just with another computer.

Please download the 270.61 drivers we posted today. These drivers should work fine and include the 3D Vision Controller driver (emitter driver) included with them.
