Need help with setup Using 3D vision kit hdmi->dvi cable..
I'm trying to use my XPS 15 which has HDMI out or DP running a GT435. I'm hooking up the cable as follows: HDMI-DVI cable HDMI out laptop in to DVI on monitor. (The cable included with the 3D Vision Kit from NVidia)
Issue: No matter what I try I cannot get Windows to detect the 120 MHZ rate of the monitor. Is this not the cable I'm supposed to use? I don't see any instructions that say you cannot use hdmi out to dvi in using this cable...

You can't get 1920x1080@120Hz over HDMI - no chance. Only Dual-Link-DVI has enough data-wires to carry such a big signal.
Maybe you can try to get 120Hz in some lower resolutions (1280x720 or 1024x768) but I don't think that you can pass the 3D-Vision-Whizzard that way.
You will have a bigger chance with the Dispay-Port. There are ACTIVE!! adapters for DP -> Dual-Link-DVI. It should work but I hope it doesn't introduce a lot ghosting caused by the signal-transformation-delay.

I think everyone already pointed it out but just to remind you that 3D Vision displays currently support DL DVI for inputs supporting 1920x1080 at 60Hz 3D mode.
You could use one of the brand new Acer 3D Vision monitors that also support HDMI 1.4 (Acer GN245HQ or Acer HN274H) to connect to your laptop.
We are working on testing a new DP to DL DVI adapter that will work with 3D Vision monitors. I am not sure if the one you referenced in this thread works.
