Hello everybody, this is leoblab from Italy! This is my first post here :)
I'm very interested in 3D vision technology and now, after years from the launch, I'm happy to upgrade my monitor to a 3D vision 2 compatible one (it's a BenQ ZL2720Z)...
...but where is the 3D vision kit (glasses + emitter)? I'm searching everywhere without any results.
It seems that all the shops (e-commerce shops too) don't have this item anymore.
I sent an email to nVidia asking what is the reason of this situation, but I received no answer.
So, here I am... I need to know if this fantastic feature is still alive or not.
If 'not', is it still possible to buy and use the 3d vision 2 kit (if I find one avaiable)?
Is it possible to use it with all 3d games or not? I read that there are problems with directx 10/11 games, is it true?
I hope to receive your answers soon! :D
Thanks a lot and have a nice day!
Leoblab

Still alive but mainly because a few fantastic people in this community are making sure of it. If it wasn't for

it would likely be dead. A real shame since this should have taken off it rekindled my passion for gaming. Still worth it for the huge archive of playable titles even if support in the future fall away completely.
I got a kit as early as january which was bundled with a monitor. You should still be able to find one on ebay or whatever.

Hi leoblab,
There should be a few UK based retailers amongst this lot that will export to Italia.

Hat tip to D-Man11 for that link.
I prefer an external emitter since I use it to enable 3DTV Play and a 3D Vision Projector as well as my monitor.
Way more options with an external emitter. I'll drag my projector and emitter over to my friends and game using his PC sometimes. I'm pretty sure his wife is getting him his own projector for Christmas.

Thank you all guys! :D
I looked on ebay.it and I finally found the 3d Vision 2 kit at a reasonable price!
Reading your answers I understand that the situation is not so bad.
What are the most common problems with games not optimized for the 3d vision technlogy? They simply don't work in 3d mode or they works but the quality of the graphic/gameplay is not good?
Sorry for all these questions, but I don't want to spend money for something that does't work :P

If you expect it to work everywhere you are bound to be disappointed.
With the combination of 3D Vision Ready titles the last such release was 2013 batman: origins.
This along with user modification on helixmod.blogspot.com there is plenty along with all the games that are good enough without a fix.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?
Thank you very much flugan.
So I suppose that a good number of games published from 2009 to 2013 are 3d Vision compatible, isn't it?
Another thing: is there any problem with directx 11 games?

A huge number of games are compatible, and the list is constantly growing thanks to the community efforts. This includes DX11 titles, largely thanks to bo3b and mike. There's a list at the link necropants posted, if you want to have a look.

It should not be bad if Nvidia makes possible again (as they did some years ago) to use other hardware different with the driver, especially now that they are not selling their glasses anymore. I wonder what would happen if my dog bites and breaks my glasses.

Guys, I can't believe it: I told you I found a 3d vision 2 kit avaiable on ebay.it...well the seller has just emailed me telling that "the product is out of stock and we don't know when it will be in stock again".
Officially, in Italy there is no shop selling this item.
The thing I don't understand is that nVidia has just put on the market the G-Sync technology and the shops are selling lots of 144Hz monitors (which are 3d vision 2 ready)... It seems so strange to me that nVidia is not going to produce the kit anymore...

I suspect suppliers are probably waiting on manufacturers. (finger crossed)

leoblab,
I contacted CCL Computers Ltd today. They have 8 units due for delivery on the 5th of December. As of today, 3 units have already been spoken for, so there are 5 units still available at this time. International shipping to your country adds another six days or so, plus shipping costs.
