joker18 - I assume the issue with your 65 in 4K display is 3D field of view, since you are trading resolution for screen size. Because of its larger 3D FOV (shorter relative 3D minimum viewing distance), I am using my 55 in LG instead of my 65 in LG for gaming. Note that, in terms of eye steradians, a 27-in diagonal screen viewed at 27 inches is the same as a 10-ft diagonal screen (same aspect ratio) viewed at 10 ft. It will be interesting to see how you like your new setup, versus the 4K passive display (including ghosting performance comparison, since LG is using circular polarization)...

Now to be honest is not that I am not pleased with my 55 4k TV, image quality and 3d is very good. I didn't know what I wanted for Christmas and I said why not try a larger screen :D I will definitely come back with impressions and comparison but only after Christmas. Santa has to bring it and my wife won't let me touch it until then :))

Merry Christmas!!!! Santa brought me a Benq W1300 :D and I did some gaming last night. My screen is 244cm by 137, impressive in size, a little bit to big at first but I got used to it. I'm sitting 3m away from the screen. Colour and lighting is fantastic, I have no problem playing with some light in the room(made a separate, brighter profile for 3D). Unfortunately I have to say resolution wise it is quite visible difference from what I was used to but it is acceptable. One question: I have very visible flickering coming form the screen when using 1080p 24HZ, is it normal?

Merry Christmas! I would say that you shouldn't be experiencing any flickering. 1080p 24hz is always going to feel a little slow, but you shouldn't see any visual artifacts. Is it the same at 720p?

NO, 720P doesn't flicker. but as soon as I select 1080P 24hz it is like I'm turning on a strobo. Using win 8.1 and win 10. I will try later to see if the laptop gives same results. I tried from the laptop. 1080P 24HZ looks fine until I turn on any 3D mode (Frame Packing, SBS, TB) when I doo this the image starts flashing. Could something be wrong with my projector? There is the same kind of flashing when I turn on 3D in other resolutions but it goes away after 1-2 seconds. LE: I have two other problems not related to 3D and I couldn't find an answer. 1. I cannot select SmartECO- it is grayed out 2. I cannot select ISF NIght or day - they are grayed out.

No solution for the image flickering in 1080p 24Hz until now, every configuration I tried gave the same results. I wrote Benq to see what they say. Meanwhile I found the solution for SmartEco. It is disabled if I chose High Altitude( which at the beginning I thought refers to high placement). I found the password for ISF but unfortunately Benq didn't put inside any pre-calibrated settings so without equipment they are useless. I don't really get why TB looks better than SBS. I know in firmware 1.0 SBS was allowed only on 1080i so maybe it comes form here. Another strange thing, from resolution point of view 1080p TB looks bad on distant objects and Framepacking 720p60 looks bad on closer objects but on distant objects seems to be better than TB.

If you have a second display connected, disconnect it and try again. I know that a few driver's ago, I think it was 358.50, there was an issues when running two monitors at different refresh rates. It would cause the one with the lower refresh to flicker real bad. 359.00 doesn't seem to have the problem. Options being greyed out can sometimes be caused by using user/custom profiles settings.

Thank's I tried also this but no success. What I also noticed while testing that the brighter the image the more flicker I get. PS: I got contacted by Benq they will take my unit in service to check it. [s]I also continued my extensive tests and have to say I either have a defective unit or SmartEco and ECO/Blank (button) are just bullshit. SmartEco power consumption is mostly 279-280W and sometimes goes down to 230W/hour. I keep on the screen black image and cursor for about 10 minutes consumption 280W, did the same for White image and a few words, 280 W Eco/blank button - Surprisingly does not reduce energy consumption. If you have the lamp on normal it stais at 280W and if you have it in Economy it is 230W.[/s] Measurement is done at the outlet. It is very accurate

You should have returned your projector, there is no guarantee that they will not give you back a different "used" projector.
You should have returned your projector, there is no guarantee that they will not give you back a different "used" projector.
+1 Also, EcoMode is usually to enable longer lamp life, not necessarrily less power draw, but this is intrinsically a side-effect. I have always found the option dubious. Why sacrifice your experience, especially when 3D glasses take away 75% of the brightness, for a measly ~25% longer lamp life? to each their own but this option has never struck a chord with me. Also, there are a lot of companies out there who include BS features simply for marketing, and it does reflect in their sales figures. It is an unfortunate reality.

The issue you have does sound very strange. FWIW, I think generally, smarteco modes will dynamically switch the bulb between standard and eco mode mode, so that could affect the power reading. Do you have a 3d blu ray player you can try the output from? Also, have you tried a different cable? Might sound random but I've experienced problems in 3d mode from cheap long run HDMI cables that could perfectly happily carry other signals. Lastly, are you using DLP link mode? Does the projector automatically switch to a 3d mode when you enable it on the pc? If it does and you're using DLP link, the projector will output the DLP sync signal via either the white or one of the red segments on the colour wheel. Doesn't sound related to your issue though, I assume you're seeing the flicker with and without the glasses? Depending on the refresh rates, some need 144Hz glasses, but generally 120Hz glasses won't sync if that's an problem. Can you upload any videos anywhere? Sorry for the ramble, just chucking stuff out there.

Another thing to try, is setting your desktop to 24Hz. That's if you haven't already done so :)

I will try to answer question in order 1. I didn't want to return the projector because I got a very good price on it, and the Sale period ended. If I return it I cannot get something similar with the same money. They should fix it in service. 2. In 3D Economy mode is not the best choice but when watching movies it fits perfectly. 3. Marketing I seen stated dramatic power consumption and even longer bulb life for SmartEco which I think is just Bullshit. 4 I have no Blu-ray player. But I tested 2 PCs and 2 cables one long(main) and one short 5. Projector automatically switches to 3D when I change the resolution to 1080p 24Hz. Flicker is very visible with or without glasses. If the background is white flicker is unbearable. 6. I will try to make a short video. 7. I did set the desktop to 24Hz, One more thing. The noise of the projector changes when I switch to 1080p 24Hz (3D) there is a high pitch noise coming from it and it is different from the usual.

Did you ask the Seller if it was possible to exchange it, I would think that they would honor the sales price on an exchange. If you send it in, be sure to write down your serial number before sending it, then you can confirm that you received your virgin projector back. You also might inquire to the likelihood of getting yours back or if there's an option for repair locally.
