a rare Mac voice on this forum just wants to know if Nvidia 3dVision Pro works on a Quadro 4000 Mac edition?
And if so does 10.7.3 now fully support it?
The info is all in the advertising blurb from Nvidia and Apple, but there appears to be no OSX drivers anywhere. All roads lead to Windows.
I just want to be able to play back Nuke Flipbooks and Framecycler through a 4000 to an Alienware OptXTM AW2310 3D Monitor.
Last I heard Apple do the driver development for Macs (though this may have changed), they might support OpenGL's quad buffering, I don't know.
The issue we always had with apples OpenGL drivers was they tended to be buggy and they didn't ship driver fixes outside OS releases, meaning we had to artificially restrict which OS versions we supported.

Thankyou for an answer!
I reckon they do support the Quad buffering on my trawling of the web.
Lion seems to fix an awful lot of stuff in 10.7.3
I just want to find someone who knows that:
"Yes, you have a robust 3D Stereoscopic viewing experience on your 3D Stereo-capable display through a dedicated 3pin miniDIN connector"
and it works just as it says above in the specification on Apple and NVidias site.
And with the history of Quadro drivers on the Mac it's a question a want an answer to before plopping down £1K+ on a card, monitor and glasses for 3d work in Nuke.

Linux or Windows isn't an option.
thankyou

I'm in a similar situation, attempting to set up a MacPro with a 3D stereo display. I've been trolling the web for someone--anyone!--to say:

Since your last post, did you set up the system and find that this was so?
Thanks.
(And since the thread is a month old: http://xkcd.com/979/)
