Shutters stay on permanently after watching 3D movies and other possible causes
I use the program 3dtv.at (which is also the website, if you want to check) to watch my 3D movies. It seems that whenever I watch a movie, all is well but when I close the player, 3D wont go off.
NOTHING turns it off. Starting and stopping the nvidia test, starting and stopping another 3D app, logging on/off windows, even unplugging the emitter and plugging it back in, the 3D stays on and drain the battery. Only solution is a complete computer restart.
Any one know what is going on? Is there a place (say in the registry) where a setting controls whether it is currently on or not? Most things turn it off when they close but 3DTV doesn't seem to.
3DTV actually takes off windows 7 aero, and I am not sure but it may have happened with other apps that do that. Perhaps it is something involved in that switch over?

Hmmm, sounds like 3DTV isn't getting completely closed. Check your Task Manager and see if it's leaving anything behind.
I'm not sure what you're running but 3DTV's website is here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play.html
Edit: OH! Guess what just happened to me? I went to the Solutions3D website to check what was new, closed my browser (giving me the IE error we've been getting with the latest WHQL drivers)... and the emitter light was stuck on. I actually logged off Windows 7 but the emitter stayed on! That should have ended all tasks owned by my account so I guess this isn't a case of something being left in memory.

I am simply proving the quote in your sig to be true. At first facts didn't meet my views, for you, so I changed your facts /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
But the question is, am I stupid or powerful?
Anyway, problem still happening, anyone else have ideas? Similar problems?

I've had the same on the current beta drivers and the drivers before them, also using the 3dtv.at player.
The glasses will remain on, and slightly flicker until I rebooted my PC. It only happens occasionally.
sounds like a mighty fine solution to me. hope nvidia sorts this out soon. it also happens when i play the game Fuel in window mode. It seems window-mode applications (which will knock win7 out of aero if it is S3D) seem to do this, though that is not completely substantiated yet.

Any help would be great.

Anyway, if you set the glasses behind the emitter, they should turn off after a bit. That should save your battery power.
