Need help on what to buy for 3d tv / how many 480 cards
Hello there i am looking for input from people who know more then i do, i want a tv that is anywhere 30-42 inches 3d ready with great picture and if i want my 3d to run just fine on it, what should i get 1 or 2 480? just how good is this card? Because i've been hearing that the 5970 ati card is the most powerful on the market

ATi HD5970 is more powerful, but it will only work on games that generate the stereo3D internally (without 3d drivers), so far there is only one that is worth the extra power, that is Avatar and only if your display is FullHD or more (exe. using a custom rig with dual projectors on a giant polarised screen).
3D drivers that transform 2D games into 3D on ATi systems do not support Crossfire yet (iZ3D and DDD)
The most powerful ATi card that I can possibly recommend is the HD5870.

However the Nvidia geforce GTX 480 is a little more powerful, so if you're looking for the most powerful 3D capable GPU on the market, that is the Nvidia 480GTX.
If you are looking for a multi-GPU configuration, at the moment Nvidia is the only choice in Dual-SLI only (Tri and quad do not work)

Well I think one GTX 480 will probably be good for most games. Of course there will be games like Metro 2033 that tax the system, but most games should be fine without SLI. I'm planning on getting a GTX 480 myself, I'm hoping it will be enough. In terms of displays, there is nothing in the 30-42" range. The largest PC monitor is 24". Then you can go to HDTVs but they are in the 60" range and then projectors even larger potentially. I don't know what to tell you. Just look at Nvidias compatibility list and take your pick.
