I think the new driver is borked check the hardware and driver forums as well
uhhh. Can anyone confirm what I am seeing in other forums. Obviously my 9800gt died and it has been perfectly fine until about 3 days ago. It seems the new driver is causing overheating issues. How do I report this to Nvidia? I am about to buy another one of their cards and don't want to have to worry about drivers blowing it up.

Older gpus are tending to have issues w/ newer driver sets...
Most gtx200 owners have been giving the new driver set great reviews... (beta even more)
Which driver are you currently running?
There was a driver set that had been removed by nvidia for just that main reason.

My 285s have been running hotter lately than they used to, but I chalked it up to them probably being dusty and needing a good cleaning (which I'm planning to do next weekend). Temps aren't getting dangerously high or anything, but when under max performance stress in gaming they are frequently getting up into the 75-80c range, while they used to max our around 72c under the most extreme conditions. Basically, I've noticed about an average 10c jump lately which at times is enough to get into artifacting territory. I always set my gpu fans manually to 100% for gaming.

I guess maybe it could be a driver thing, though, if I'm not the only one experiencing this? I'm using cd v1.23 (197.13).

I know Nvidia said they left the fans at 40% untll the temps hit the 80+ range before they start increasing the fan. I notice my 2 cards running up to 80+ while playing Need for Speed undercover. then the fan kicked up from 40% to 45% idele was 67 and 57 degrees celcius before the load was applied.

So why besides noise would I not want my fans running at 100% while gaming. My surround setup is louder than my GPU so noise is not an issue

I was using the new CD-1.23 drivers
