I bought this game because it was recommended by a friend. Looking at it, I did not think that 3D would work. But upon install I looked at the install folder and saw "Unity".
So I added -window-mode exclusive to the launch command and used 3DHub Player.
It now worked in 3D, but....
The camera zooms in and out abruptly at times and I could not get a decent setting to work. So it made me think of The Undergarden, where I had weird issues and couldn't find a profile to work. So I made my own and it works with the camera maxed out and zoomed in and then cutscenes are not borked. So the game is playable using this custom profile that I made.
Profile "001 Old Man's Journey"
ShowOn GeForce
ProfileType Application
Executable "Old Mans Journey.exe"
Setting ID_0x701eb457 = 0x2241ab21 InternalSettingFlag=V0 // MysteryStereoSetting
SettingString ID_0x7049c7ec = "1.0" // Value
SettingString ID_0x704d456e = "Play with 70% depth and do not adjust convergence. Custom profile by D-Man11"
SettingString ID_0x7051e5f5 = "1" // Compat
Setting ID_0x708db8c5 = 0x5c776d4b InternalSettingFlag=V0 // StereoConvergence
Setting ID_0x709a1ddf = 0x4b1cd96b InternalSettingFlag=V0 // StereoCutoff
SettingString ID_0x70b5603f = "D3D" // API
Setting ID_0x70edb381 = 0x24208b44 InternalSettingFlag=V0 // StereoTextureEnable
EndProfile
Perhaps a shaderhacker could do something with hotkeys for the camera/convergence and cutscenes and make an actual fix.
But 3D is better than 2D, so my while my tweak doesn't give the best 3D effect, it's acceptable. Part of the problem is that there are many layers and the ones where the character is positioned are stacked very closely. But the other layers are spaced very far apart, so a Depth Hack like Blacksmith used in Forgotten Anne will not work here. (which BTW was genius, thnx Blacksmith)

Anyhow, enjoy! It's a gem!
Note: to import this profile, follow the directions for exporting/importing here
BTW, that 001 is there because I put that at the beginning of all the custom profiles that I make. It makes it easier for me when I upgrade divers. I import all the 001 profiles over into the new driver profiles. 001 puts my custom profiles at the start, below Nvidia's "007 Legends"

I bought this awhile back and planned on playing it in 2D while away from home via an old laptop. For some reason, I looked at the game files and saw Unity, so I skipped playing it until I could try 3D at home.
I was surprised it worked, it looked like one of those games that wouldn't.
A huge problem is the software pointer in the game pops way out of the game at times. Using stereocutoff fixed this. The other thing is the extreme variances in the camera from being zoomed way out to way in.
It's dx11, so it could be fixed with 3Dmigoto using the automatic crosshair fix and the auto presets
At least I think so..., but I'm not a shaderhacker, so I've no idea really. My profile makes it playable, but if it's possible to fix, it would be a real treat visually for what little it offers gameplay wise.
I also know that DSS made some type of auto convergence, that I think is different than what I linked above, it was used in DOA Venus Vacation and Life is Strange: Before the Storm (I saw it in some ReadMe notes)
