Mass Effect 2.
Just redid this. Confirmed working in multiple copies of me2. No ghosting/fog/shadows/lights.

Before installing TURN OFF DYNAMIC SHADOWS in your configuration utility. Download both files. Install accordingly. Extract both files into your binaries folder. Should look like...
mass effect 2/binaries/d3d9.dll
mass effect 2/binaries/shaderoverride/

If you want to disable crosshair
Edit Coalesced.ini

Change:

(Tag=Reticle, ZOrder=10, Handlerclass="SFXGame.SFXSFHandler_Reticle", PanelResource="GUI_SF_HUD.ME2_Reticle")

To:

(Tag=Reticle, ZOrder=10, Handlerclass="SFXGame.SFXSFHandler_Reticle")

To "enhance your graphics" http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/106/index/2060374/1
(Dont add shadows)
Thanks dude! It almost completely works now. I just get strange halos around objects when the depth is set higher than halfway. Not ghosting, something else.

Great work man, almost working fine but I also get halo issues, I think its to do with fog?

screencap:

And, I guess theres no way to run this game in 3D with lense flares or shadows?

Anyway much appreciated, thanks for your efforts!

I will look in morning. Attach a save of where it is very prominent please, preferably facing it.
Looks like shadows that appear with fog though fog is gone which is wierd, probably is fixable since tridef version doesnt have that issue.

http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/PC_Tweaks_%28Mass_Effect_2%29
do a search for hud. You have to bind it to a key in command ~

I think its Bindings=( Name="k", Command="showhud")
to bind it to k
Its to hard to play without thought to be honest. Just disable crosshair.

Updated DLL's in the first post.
Fixed bug when some games wont lunch(should work with steam version of Dead Space).
Everyone who use old version of DLL should re-download it.

Thanks but the issue is the squad character icons and ammo/weapon icons etc conflict with shepard when using a decent amount of convergence, I'll try and make the HUD toggle, thanks for the info and fixes. :)

Later I'll try to describe how to fix(not disable) shaders, but it's required basic knowledges of shader programming.
I would love to learn more about it! Some kind of tutorial would be great. Or can You recommend a website where a noob like me can learn something about shaders?
I tried to fix the sky of Assassin's Creed 2 with the help of Your fix for ACB as a template but it didn't manage to identify the values I had to change. Unfortunately reloading the shaders with F10 didn't work in this game. So I had to restart the game to see the effects of my changes (they had either no effect or the clouds disappeared completely /sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ) BTW reloading worked in ACB so this issue seems to be specific for AC 2.
I also made some experiments with Dragon Age 2 that also suffers from a sky at wrong depth. In this case disabling the shader for the sky resultet in a black space. Even when I placed an exact copy of the dumped sky shader (without any changes!) in the override folder the sky turned black /huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

But I also had success using the tool:
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit was unplayable in tunnels or during dawn or night time because of numerous lighting issues. After disabling some shaders this issues could be removed. The scenery looks darker but as the road marking and other cars are still illuminated You can still drive without problems. So disabling shaders can make the difference between unplayable and playable in S3D. Compare: http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/3d4dd/album/4f313f703785011e09000003/
I played the game offline to prevent problems with autolog.

BTW it is great that the debug-dll also shows the actual values for the convergence settings. It was always hard to explain unexperienced users which settings they should use for manual convergence adjustment as there is only a scale for depth but not for convergence.
I think that the dll can only read the values for convergence and depth but not change the values? Otherwise this could be a way to make different presets for depth and convergence for different game situations (cutscenes, ego- or 3rd person perspective, etc.). iZ3D drivers already offer this very useful functionality.

I will do dragon age 2 tonight. I plan to do one game a day.

Made the worlds worst wiki page http://helixmod.wikispot.org/ (Will look better when I find someone else to work on it/ I stop being lazy). Games that are listed so far. Assasins Creed: Brotherhood. Dead space 1. Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning. Mass effect 2.

I won't get my copy of Amalur until tonight and will probably not be able to do anything with it until tomorrow morning. I'm looking forward to testing out the fix and see what else is still wrong in 3D.

Unfortunately I could only find one fix with amalur I cycled through all the options like 3 times(as opposed to mass effect where I found 7 fixes). Perhaps some1 will find better results. It helps though since the game wasnt too bad.

Just tried dragon age 2. Unfortunately its probably not worth it. I can get rid of the messed up bloodstains/sky/a bit of ghosting. However you have to play in dx9 and it completely deletes bloodstains/sky. Which is more harm then good. Requires modification rather then deletion. If someone wants it I can remove the bloodstains and the shadow ghosting that appears under the characters but sky box must remain(Dx9 only)

If some1 gives me a save with that mass effect 2 ghosting I will see if it can be fixed.

3d4dd gonna link your post for nfs hot pursuit to wiki. Hope you dont mind.

Dungeon Defenders fix
Man was this game TERRIBLE in 3d. Wierd lines showing around all objects, wierd light orbs, shadows displaying very oddly. All gone. This went from completely unplayable to good. Attached are before and after pics. Follow installation directions extract both zips in win32 directory.

steam/steamapps/common/dungeon defenders/binaries/win32/d3d9.dll
steam/steamapps/common/dungeon defenders/binaries/win32/shaderoverride/

http://helixmod.wikispot.org/
As always 99.99999% credit goes to helix.

PS If anyone wants to run debug and see if they can fix anything else feel free. Just post the new files here and let me know via pm.
Those pictures really came out bad for some reason... Looks better ingame.

Thank You for the wiki page! Good idea!

Found some other examples how the great tool from Helix can help to fix issues (by removing them).
Console to PC ports of games often suffer from missing detailed graphic settings. So there often is no way to turn off disturbing effects. Even ini-files for these games are missing.
I picked out two of these games for testing. They are not really good so I didn't try to fix all of their issues. On demand I can upload the fixes I made so far for these games. My original motivation was to test what can be done by disabling shaders.

Bloom effects:
Often can't be turned off as they don't need much computing power and are favored to coat mediocre graphic quality.
Disabling this pixel shader made Summer Challenge playable in S3D.
See http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/3d4dd/album/4f318213378501f1570000ae/

Static and dynamic shadows:
Often You can only change the quality of shadows but not turn them off completely. I managed to switch off dynamic and static shadows in Winter Sports 2012 that made the game unplayable in S3D before.
See http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/3d4dd/album/4f318213378501f1570000ae/
But there are also some kind of shadows that can't be removed by disabling shaders (e.g. in NfS some shadows on the landscape).

So there is much potential in Helix's tool /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Unfortunately issues caused by water surfaces (reflections, haloes, distortions,...) can rarely solved by simple disabling shaders. This often results in removing the water surface completely or producing strange artefacts. So the best method is still renaming the exe to ofdr.exe, aion.exe, etc. or using the iZ3D driver.

BTW disabling a shader with the debug-dll while running the game can cause strange effects. Nevertheless try to disable the shader using a txt file in the override folder and restart the game. Disabling the vertex shader responsible for the dynamic shadows in Winter Sports using the hotkeys resultet in a messed up image. But disabling the same shader with a file in the override folder and restarting the game removed the shadows without issues.

Hey, my Dead Space launches now but the 3D still looks ****ed up. What driver version are you using?

EDIT: I found that using the non-steam version fixes the issue.

Nice info 3d4dd. Yea I didnt realize when I first used that if a graphic becomes buggy, that you could still remove. I have to look at amalur again I think I skipped some stuff cause of that
