popped into richer sounds today with the intention of treating my self to a new amplifier as mine is a tad old now.
when low and behold on the shelf brand new stock is a onkyo tx-sr 380 3d ready av amplifier.
i asked the clerk if this was capable of handling true 120hz input and he just looked at me baffled.
after googling around i couldnt find much in the way of technical info on this but it is labeled as being hdmi 1.4 compliant.
does any one have or used on of these amps with the acer h5360 or any 3d display?
i cant try on mine yet as my "space" is in the middle of renovation.

I own an Integra DTC 9.8 receiver which is capable of handling video and upscaling as well to 1080p, BUT, it does NOT support 120hz. I had to run an HDMI cable to the receiver for sound only and one directly to my H5360. This way I can get both digital sound and 120hz video.
In my opinion, there are no receivers capable of handling true 120hz video... yet.

If it is HDMI 1.4 compliant then it will handle 120Hz. But it will not do anything with the signal other than pass it through. There is no 3D handling in the Onkyo. All it means by 3D ready in this case, is that it will be able to handle the signal rather than reject it, extract the audio, and then pass it onto the display.
If you had the Acer projector, and I don't know much about it, but assuming it is HDMI 1.4 compliant then it would work with a 3D blu-ray player, such as Sony's 370 (after firmware update in the summer).

I just picked up an Onkyo TX-SR608, which is the big brother of the TX-SR308. It has 6 HDMI 1.4a inputs. I have it passing through the video to an Acer H5360 projector. The onscreen display of the projector shows the video is 120hz, but the nVidia driver won't let me choose anything but 3D vision discover. It says I don't have a compatible 3D vision display. Windows shows the attached display as TX-SR608, whereas if I connect directly from the PC to the projector it shows it as H5360. So again, it's the stupid driver that's preventing me from using this setup, since the 120hz signal is obviously getting through. I can get around it easily with an HDMI switcher, but why should I have to do that? Come on nVidia.

Note that Sky 3D will not work with the Acer.
