Subnautica
  1 / 2
Game was just released and has great ratings from users. It also looks like it could play well in 3D. Anyone tried it out? ps/ I probably mistyped game's name during search on Helix blog, it appears fix for beta is available. Does it work with recent visual update?

Pretty sure that old fix would have been completely broken when they updated to Unity 5.6. I'm in the process of updating my scripts for 5.6, 2017.1, 2017.2 and 2017.3 - the updates to my extraction scripts are done, but I still need to go in and get any new lighting/flare/etc shaders used in these versions for the template and have asked neovad if he'd like me to take a look at Subnautica for the 5.6 update and see if I can resolve the issues with God Rays and the HUD he hit in that game, but haven't heard back yet.

That's great news, DarkStarSword! Thanks a lot! :) Can't wait to play Subnautica in proper 3D (unfortunately, I've sold my Vive...)

Looks fantastic. I was so impressed I have donated for the first time for this fix. What a difference it makes playing this in 3D! Once I knock the convergence down with ctrl/F5 to get my hands behind the screen, it's absolutely perfect. I love you for this! My wife is gonna hate you for this! "Yeah...I'll come to bed soon babe...just gotta harvest a few more bladder fish...what...because I'll die of thirst...yeah I know I'm such a loser...goodnight..." Thanks DarkStarSword.

thanks DSS for the fix the game fps drops from 60 to 30 in certain areas ..remainds me what iv experienced in gta V *** edit: disabling vsync in game setting gives me 50-60 fps constantly without droppings but now my eyes hurt.. edit 2: temorary solution for anyone expreience this issue: if you want to turn on vsync you have to stay above 60 fps else its gonna drops to 30 fps so just turn off space reflections which are very demanding on fps and you are not losing much graphically. this solved my problem for now and im 60 fps most of the time with vsync on. thanks DSS for an amazing fix!!

Nice fix, pretty game - shit draw distance A draw distance fix is here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1279642367 It does have some impact on performance though. On a 1080, playing at 1080p I was getting 70-100 FPS with everything high and 3d on. Increasing draw distance to max improves the game a lot visually but lowers FPS to 40-70 FPS for me in 3d. I'll try turning off screen space reflections and see what that does.

I was a bit cranky pants the first day as a result :-p And thanks for the donation, I really appreciate it (and thanks to everyone else who donates as well) :)
the game fps drops from 60 to 30 in certain areas ..remainds me what iv experienced in gta V
I didn't mention it in the release notes, but I experimented a little with applying my constant buffer stereoisation technique (the same one I used in Hellblade) to some of the broken effects in this game (the screen space reflections of the Subnautica logo in the title screen, and the underwater light shafts) to test out the viability for creating a Unity version of that, but the downside is that it eats a few fps (because I have to work around a driver limitation) - only about 2 or 3 though, certainly not 30. Long term goal with that experiment is to create something that would more easily allow custom effects to be fixed that my template doesn't work on, maybe even providing a GUI that allows the user to pick matrices and indicate what kind of correction they need to make fixing games more accessible to people who can't necessarily edit shader code. The experiment was a success, but confirmed what I already suspected that certain complications in Unity will make it a lot harder to generalise to all games/effects than it will be for UE4... but I believe it can be done.

Impossible to start the game in 3D mode with the fix installed since today's Windows Update 1803 : Black screen with version number and "Savegame in progress", then Back To Desktop !? Same problem if I start from 3D Fix Manager. I've already try DDU and re-install of 388.31 driver. Nothing is working...

After today's Nvidia Driver Update to 397.64, the game start but with an orange line on top of the screen : "Error opening E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica\ShaderFixes\mouse.ini" and there is no more mouse cursor on the main menu screen, nor in game!
