MKV stereoscopic flag support for Nvidia 3D Vision Video Player ?
Hello,
as far as I know, The Nvidia 3D Vision Video Player does not embed any mkv splitter. It relies on directshow filters present on the computer to open files, and most of the time, on the Haali matroska splitter ( in fact, it the the case on my system ).
The matroska specification contains a great feature : you can mux two video streams in a Mkv container, and set for each stream a stereoscopic flag that indicate 'Left Eye' and 'Right Eye'. It also offers the flag 'Botheyes' when the video contains both left and right eyes side by side.
The problem is that I do not think Nivida 3D Vision Video Player is capable to identify those flags through the Haali splitter, so that it can't automatically get the left eye video stream and the right video stream from a unique mkv file that woud contains both streams.
Mkv is really a widely spread container, and the stereoscopic flag from its specification is an elegant way to identify video streams contained by a unique file. Moreover, it is really a better solution than having two video files or a side by side video ...
Nvidia team, can you add this feature ? Please ... :-)

Basically the nVidia version is just a branded version, just like the Zalman Stereoscopic Player that came with my monitor.[/quote]
Thank you for this information. I will do that too.
