For some time I was like you thinking that manually it's better, but after I tried this great tool I haven't installed manually any fix and it's not only for fixes but you can configure 3d vision and if you have more displays then set settings for each one of them. So give it a try and you will be addictive like with 3d vision vs 2d:)

I am new to this but I find the app to be very impressive and convenient. Never did it manually but as they say, old habits die hard.

3D fix manager is extraordinary, Markus (a.k.a Pauldusler) is constantly improving it. I recommend you thoroughly examine the application, you can find a lot of things to make your life easier. Not just for 3d fix installation, it contains a lot of great features. The point is, you must be willing to discover it. Some of the games, I'm constantly playing both 2D and 3D. The program makes this quite practical. Automatically 2d different nvidia profile, 3d allows me to use different profile. It can automatically change the in-game settings. The screen for 2d and 3d brings the Hz value to the desired value when entering the game. But I don't use the HOTKEY part of the program. I'm doing that part manually. (text editor is faster to transfer ideas that come to mind)

Good decision. You won't regret it. I think it's a great interface to use, for both newbies and the more proficient alike. It looks and is, professionally done. It is precisely what Nvidia should have done right at the outset. Speaking personally, I'm really grateful for Paul's unwavering contribution to this community, and I hope that he continues his support for this application for as long as he feels that it's worth his time doing so.

Agree with all the comments, the app is great, easy to use but very powerful. The rate at which Paul adds features and fixes bugs is mind boggling. So in summary, try it now and thank Paul later!

it's very efficient. especially when it comes to automatically adding the proper driver profiles so we don't have to waste time with Nvidia Inspector.

I use it. Good for launching games in sbs mode or any other 3d mode without having to uncomment the .ini file. If you find it useful and it is within your reach try donating s little something to Paul, he puts a ton of work on It and he will appreciate it. I know I did, and still doesn't feel enough.

It's now grown on me, but always made me nervous as I always heavily manually edit my fix installs. I mainly use it after new driver installs so I don't need to go through that shitty setup process. Paul is on my donation list, I'm getting through. My only complaint is it seems to take forever to start.

Thanks for your fantastic feedback about 3DFM. Really motivating to see that it's useful for the community. It's located in "Settings" -> "Application Settings" -> "Detecting installed games". Did you try to enable this option there? It's like Tim said - the app is a bit of discovery :). I've added tooltips to all options - simply move the mouse cursor above them to see a text describing the features. Generally every time you start the application installed games and fix DLLs are searched - this takes some time. But when you enable the cache feature the search mechanism is completely disabled and only the cached paths are applied. This should really boost app start. Disadvantage of this is that results are not necessarily up to date after starting the app (maybe you have uninstalled a game in the meantime but it's still shown in the game list of 3DFM - in this case it's good to manually refresh the list occasionally - there is a refresh button in the bottom left corner). For me the app only takes 2-3 seconds to load with 70 games installed (spread on HDD as well as SSD) without using the cache feature . I guess the app only takes too long to load if there are maybe 500 games installed or so when not using the cache feature? For this scenario I've added the cache feature. Btw also make sure to set "Search depth" NOT higher than "1" in "Detecting installed games" section. The default value of 0 works already good enough for detecting games and takes least time.

Its a great program IMO. I have only just got my home computer system going again and played just one or two games in 3D so far and have already used the heck out of the install/uninstall/download functionality to troubleshoot problems. I'm saving money at the moment, but i am looking forward to donating to Paul (and others) once i get enough to have a bit of stability. My only complaint was also the load speed, but it looks like that has a solution. EDIT: Just downloaded updated it since not having done so in about 8 months or more i'd guess. Wow, lots more options!
