Getting started with programming for 3D Vision
Hello nVidia Community!

My name is Jacob, and I'm a grad student at Brown University. My research has recently led me into developing some 3D applications, and I'm trying to get started. I'll start off with what I've done so far, and then provide a list of my questions.

I have purchased a 120hz Samsung display, IR brick and 3 sets of glasses (direct from nVidia)
I have gotten the setup working on a set of 8800 GTXs, looks brilliant! (games work fine)
I have installed VS2005 (VS8), OpenGL and the "nVidia OpenGL SDK"

After trying to figure out where to start for a long time, I read somewhere that stereoscopic OpenGL is only supported on the Quadro, so I picked up a Quadro 4600. After getting this up and running with the IR brick (3D games and videos work, a bit choppy, but work), I was able to get a sample piece of code working (using GLUT_STEREO, both fullscreen AND windowed). This doesn't appear to be using any nVidia libraries at all, just simply the OpenGL stereoscopic capabilities.

My questions are:

Is it possible to develop for OpenGL using a GeForce card?
Are there nVidia libraries that I can be using that making programming easier/more up to date? In a sample project I found somewhere, there was a StereoI.h file, but I'm not sure what that was or even if it was official.
Are there any tips in general for getting started programming for stereoscopic OpenGL? At this point I'm just kind of hacking things together, and I'm just kinda looking for some pointers as to how to properly start (preferably using a GeForce, if possible).

Thanks!, and I look forward to being a part of the community!
