Sniper Elite 4
  1 / 3
The game is out today! Already available reviews confirm that this one is the best in the series so far! One of my pals plays the game on PS4 and he also says this is the best Sniper Elite by far (and that's meaning a lot since Sniper Elite 3 already was a gem). That means we absolutely need your blessing DJ-RK! ;-)

Agreed, I think SE3 (Sniper Elite 3) was a very nice evolution over SE2 (both in terms of gameplay, but also 3D/visuals), so I expect the same from SE4. I'll definitely take a look at it (probably wait for it to reach a reasonable price, though), however I would also say that if anyone wanted to learn how to fix a game this would be the perfect opportunity and encourage them to try here! Fixing SE3/ZAT was almost exactly the same as fixing SE2 was (just with a couple additions here and there) due to using the same engine, and I doubt that has changed with SE4. When I first got started to learn how to fix games that was with Dragons Dogma, which used the same engine as Resident Evil 6, so I was able to use mike_ar69's RE6 fix as a basis to learn from, and I'm quite certain someone would be able to do the same thing here using one of my previous SE2/SE3/ZAT fixes. I'd be more than happy to provide whatever mentorship I could on the project as well, so if anyone is interested then let me/us know! :)

Sniper Elite 4 has stereoscopic built in. :) I'm really liking how many major releases lately have done this...
Sniper Elite 4 has stereoscopic built in. :) I'm really liking how many major releases lately have done this...
Would be nice! Unfortunately that's not the case. Sniper Elite 4 only has built-in stereoscopic support for the PS4 console version (just like Sniper Elite 3). While PS4 3D support for Sniper Elite 3 was quite good it definitely can't hold up against 3D Vision quality-wise. That means I already would have happily purchased the PS4 version if DJ-RK (our Deacon of Sniper Elite-fixing) hadn't told us already that he will have a look at the PC version at some point! :-)

Thanks for the update, zig11727. I was wondering if it's possible if you can post pics of how the game looks with Tridef? EDIT: BTW, this game is being added to the Shaderhacking account. I can try my hand at fixing it if no one else is interested.

I'll just warn you in advance that I use an advanced method for adjusting the various HUD items (using DSS's texture filtering method) which is a little bit tricky. Also the same with the skyboxes. The rest of the stuff is relatively straight-forward...-ish. lol.

I made a WIP for this game last month using DJ-RK's previous Sniper Elite fixes as a template. But I never posted it because I couldn't get it looking perfect. I'll leave it here if anyone's interested. Use this for cutscenes or for bullet cam. - Adds a convergence preset on the 'Left CTRL' button for use when shoulder aiming (iron sights) - Adds a toggle switch on the Backslash (\) key. Press this to make HUD & UI screen depth. Remaining Issues: - Screen space reflections look incorrect (see second pic). - Some interior lights look incorrect when you get between a certain distance. Not sure how to describe it. But it doesn't look too bad, though. Installation: 1) Download the above WIP and extract it in the directory "..\Sniper Elite 4\bin\ " 2) If using Windows 10, run this game in Dx11 mode (double click on "SniperElite4_DX11.exe" in the game folder. Additional Notes: - When you enter Binocular view by pressing the 'B' key, press the 'B' key again to exit binocular view. Don't press the Right mouse button. - Iron sights & sniper scope depth can be set in the d3dx.ini file - This WIP was tested with all graphics settings maxed out. Special thanks to DJ-RK for all of his great 3D Vision fixes!
