These newer benq projectors (post w1070) do support sbs/tab at 1080p 60hz, that's why I thought it should do 120hz in 2d at 1080p.
In regards to the firmware, there seems to be some confusion. This model came with an input lag of 49ms, and there were posts online claiming a firmware was to be released reducing it to 33ms. I did some tests on my unit and I think it has 49ms input lag. I have the 1.3 version.
Managed to get in contact with someone from benq.
First person I talked to said that there is a 1.4 firmware version, but could not give more info, and someone else would get back to me.
Second person said there is no 1.4, 1.3 is the latest. They also said that there is no mention of input lag in any updates for this model.
I think they are keeping the low input lag for their newer models (w1120/ht2050a has 16ms input lag, w2000+ has 33ms), so I don't know how helpfull benq will be with any firmware updates.
There dosen't seem to be a problem with using a 10m/30ft hdmi cable.

Meanwhile you can try 3Dmigoto, this is only available in some games
Complementing the info...if you are playing any DX11 game with 3Dmigoto fix, you can always play on "Top and Bottom" mode.
Steps:
1) Change in NVCP to "HDMI Checkerboard", this remove the 720p limitation of the driver, so now you can use 1080 resolution.
2) In the d3dx.ini (shipped with the fix), change "x7 = 0" to "x7 = 5". In my fixes i already change that.
2) In the d3dx.ini, change ";run = CustomShader3DVision2SBS" to "run = CustomShader3DVision2SBS" (remove the ";"). Some recent version of 3Dmigoto need a different change, but there are a few games shipped with that version.
Now start the game in 1920x1080 resolution (also 4K resolution can be used in TaB mode), and you can play at that resolution and 60fps. Since you have a passive 3DTV, you need to use "Top and Bottom" mode to not lost fidelity in the image.
If you tell us what game are you playing we can guide you better.
This don't work in dx9 games, only dx11.
