1 / 2
I'm going to be settings up a display at our computer store to demo 3D Vision, but I need more than what Nvidia provided in terms of marketing collateral so I'm making our own. Being as there is nothing better than verbal imagery, I've decided to use simple "phrases" everyone who tries it will understand and (hopefully) repeat when seeing it.
In that regard, what was the first thought that popped into your minds when 3D Vision first blew you away? Thanks in advance if I don't reply.

My first reaction to 3Dvision, holy ****ing s***, but that would look kinda weird on a banner or sign. How about it needs to be seen to be believed or seeing is believing? I'm horrible at this.......

Hey guys, this technology is about a decade old. LCD shutter glasses have been in stores since late -90.
If you are saying that "OMG This is teh High-tec! Hail to 3Dvision!" then you have been living under a rock.

Wagon and automobile uses different technology, 3Dvision and for example eDimensional shutter glasses (from late -90) uses the exact same technology, when speaking of how S-3D image is produced.
Nvidia is just blocking competitive LCD glasses with their drivers software, that's why they (old shutter glasses) aren't working anymore.

I tell you what, I just installed vista and got everything working... took me forever.
Anyway, I am installing the drivers tonight and I have TF2 and L4D installed... still need to install COD4 and COD:waw. When I get done seeing this, Ill give you some slogans.
My friends and I are pretty good with this kind of thing.
Just off the top of my head though.
- See your media in an all new D
- Playing your favorite titles in a whole new light

When I got this display and ran some 3d stuff through it, I said, wow, very nice.
I have been doing 3d shutter glasses for about 8 years with CRT displays and this setup is significantly better than that. I also found the driver install to be way easier and less buggy than before. 120hz refresh at fairly high resolutions was something you could simply not do with a crt. This eliminates the flicker problem to a great degree. The glasses are of a higher quality than prior low end versions also. I was afraid I would not notice any improvement over the mitsubishi diamond crt in 3d, but it was clearly better.

When I first saw it, I was like " WoW, this is amazing and destroys Iz3d" (I have both the Iz3d and Nvidia's 3d vision)..
Also, there have been time while playing that I've thought certain pop out's look just like a hologram !

With a shadow behind the "INTO" or some other effect to give it a 3d look, not the usual red/cyan cos that would give a false impression of what type of 3D it is.

I still sometimes say WOW and AMAZING, "that is just amazing" when I try something good on my projector.
For a demo, I suggest a RTS game a just tried recently: Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2.
The reason is because the tutorial has snow falling in it and some eagles show up too. Snow looks great in 3d.
Rain and underwater bubbles can look great too but I think snow is the best.
On second thought LOTR-BFME2 might not be such a good choice because of the 2d pointer problem, the 2d-text-label problem, and the 2d-health-bar problem. Oh well, you probably want something more modern anyway.
Would you want a 3d video compilation of various games? If yes, then what format would you like it in? 720x480 interlaced? I know that's low res by today's standards. Just ask and maybe someone can do it for you. I'm not really setup for recording 3d games but I know others like Likay are. I can't really volunteer his help of course but I know he's made some 3d videos.
Do you want others to recommend games for a demo too?

Sorry your wrong, 120hz lcd's are new technology and this is the first time in history these two techs have been paired together creating a great HD 3d experience, 3d in the quality, resolution, without eyestrain is only possible due to new lcd and dlp technologies.

- come SEE your old games in a NEW way
- 3D in your living room
come to think of it... i suck at this too.

I've sent the visuals with the slogan, "Game-up Two Fold with Nvidia Three D" to the press.
I'll post some video of the reactions and what not in the coming months.
