Passive 3D Displays vs. Active 3D Displays Will these make a difference with how 3D Vision will work

That's not logical. How can only horizontal resolution go bigger if 3D needs double horizontal and vertical resolution both?

half vertical pixels but it still use full vertical pixels to make 3D. But you only see half of them. Why these childish pictures sorry but my english isn't good and maybe you can just say things more easly that i can understand too. But seems like active is more for me if that use same gpu üpwer but you get better graphics/resolution and active 3d reduce motion blur too. And there is more better active TVs with lower input lag than passive 3D. Samsung UHD TV are pretty good. But I'm scared about 720p/60hz 3DTV support. How bad it's look on 40-48'' UHD screen?

It's been explained, if you can't wrap your head around it, there's nothing I can do. Like I said previously Full frames are rendered, half frames are sent. Do not confuse 2160i (interlaced)(half resolution images) with 2160P (progressive)(full resolution images)

Active is better for you if you get a monitor. If you get a 3DHD TV, you are limited to 24Hz @1080P if using 3DTV Play.

Yeah but I want big screen and 3D Vision screens are only 27'' and you can't use them with Tridef. So I have one less 3D app option. If nVidia kills 3D then I always can use Tridef and same with Tridef if they close it I can then use 3DTV. It's so hard to choose.
It's so hard to choose.
I can tell you that using 3DTV Play @720P doesn't look very good on the 3DHD TVs that I've used it on. But it might look better on others, each manufacturer has different patents and proprietary technology that they can apply to make an image look better. Try using 1280x720 in a few games with Discover or even in 2D on your current display.

How long you can play games with active 3D before eyes get tired? Right now I use my old 19'' 1280x1024 screen because my 1080p is broken and that's why I think to buy big UHD TV for monitor and just seems like 3D is good extra. So it isn't very good idea try 720p on my 19'' screen because it uses same horizontal pixels like 720p

I can play all day if the game is 3D Vision ready or if it has a very good fix by the community modders. (almost all do)

About that half vertical resolution displayed but fully rendered in passive displays (I don't have a passive TV so I can't test this): what if you use GeDoSaTo to render internally at half the vertical resolution in 16:9 and output at full resolution with nearest neighbor filtering (making pixels have 1x2 pixel aspect ratio)? I guess it should work and you would save 50% of GPU load. If it's perfectly aligned, at every line the TV should get one of those 2 lines of pixels that are the same, and skip the other (which would be wasted at full resolution).

Will test it out and report back.

No luck so far sorry, had a sinus infection since Saturday so only had a quick try with The Witcher 2 (wanted to use a patch-free title to avoid .dll conflicts). Don't think I'm using GeDoSaTo properly though as it didn't seem to affect anything at all. Need to look into it and will have a more definite answer in 24hrs. Will also try a config edit on a game that allows changes to internal resolution. My guess is that it will not work.
