What happens if you alt+enter multiple times? In older game versions, when graphics options changes disabled 3D, pressing alt+enter twice enabled 3D again for me.

Don't give up yet! There are still more things you can try. For example, the "full_screen" option in d3dx.ini, the "refresh_rate" option too, using Special K to check the fullscreen state and force it if it isn't enabled (SK screws up the mouse code though).

I get the same issue as whyme466. I've got the Steam version of Grim Dawn with the Ashes of Malmouth expansion. I noticed the version number is 1.0.6.1.
Win10 1703, 398.11 drivers, 4K EDID.
3D just never kicks in (and there's no green 3D Vision overlay). Toggling 3D or compatibility mode doesn't do anything. Also pressing Alt+Enter multiple times doesn't kick 3D in, but does switch between Fullscreen, Borderless and Windowed.
For kicks, I also tried downloading the old version of the fix, but had the same results with that one.
I noticed (in both cases) that a ShaderCache folder gets created, but is empty.
Here's a screen of the settings I'm using (although, I'm sure I'll have to turn down some settings for performance).

I figured it out. I had to right-click on the Grim Dawn.exe file and check "Disable fullscreen optimizations" under the Compatibility tab. As soon as I did this and re-ran the game, everything worked great!
Thanks for the fix! Hope this helps others to get it working.

Thanks for figuring it out, SoundBlstr. What is your Windows 10 version (the update)? I don't have the spring update, for reference. I'll add this information to the blog post after you tell me that.

My version started working after I removed/re-installed masterotako’s great fix - and reset fullscreen setting. I even tried removing EDID mod, and using 3Dmigoto’s newer display options like reversed line-interlaced mode instead, first. I did not need to disable fullscreen optimizations. I am using updated Windows 10 setup (spring 1803 update, 398.36 driver).

I'm on Windows 10 1703 (398.11 driver) and checking/unchecking that "Disable fullscreen optimizations" breaks/fixes things for me.
The fix looks incredible at 4K! And your suggestion of using RTSS to limit the frames to 60FPS really helped with the mouse lag. Thanks for your hard work.

The game (not the excellent 3D Vision fix) was crashing occasionally on my setup (working hours or minutes between crashes). I stabilized the game (and improved input controller performance) simply by enabling Vsync…
With my Pascal Titan X, I generally cannot run 4K resolution at 60 Hz in most recent games like The Surge and Shadow of War (generally 30-40 Hz), so I routinely leave Vsync OFF to improve performance. When I initailly tested Grim Dawn performance, it was also in the 40-50 Hz realm. It appears that, when rendering rates start exceeding my 4K display 60 Hz limit, Grim Dawn can occasionally freeze/crash.

I was trying this game during the free weekend, and it's quite fun. It was working well without a fix, apart from some effects being at the wrong depth. Then I was curious to see if there was a fix for it, and I found Masterotaku's great fix. Thank you!
There is only a problem for me, no mouse cursor...
Anyone tried the fix recently with an EDID override? Is the cursor missing for you too?
EDIT
Nevermind, it was the software cursor being enabled, I took it off.
EDIT2
In fact, this is a big problem because alternate 3D methods like SBS are unplayable without software mouse. I don't remember this issue with other games. Anyone knows if the mouse is invisible only in this game? Maybe something can be changed in some ini to not make it "transparent"? Even if it no longer benefits from autoconvergenge features?
I just wanted the upscaling feature, since the game is very playable without a fix, but the feature is again broken here (mouse is scaled only in an 1080p window, top left).
Is there really no commercial "upscaling" feature available? This is the only way for 4k passive TV users to play games with good performance. I would pay good money for such a program.

I may be remembering wrong, but I think a newer version of 3Dmigoto fixed that SBS + custom mouse cursor issue.
I'm going to take a look today and tomorrow and release an updated fix (but I don't have the newest expansion). Also, I'll make it easier to have the fix working with the 64 bit exe.
In "d3dx.ini", you can see a "hide_cursor" setting, I think. That is enabled and it hides the hardware mouse cursor.
I need to check if I can make a real dynamic depth cursor.

Thanks Masterotaku, but I don't think it's worth looking at this unless you absolutely want to update your work with the new Migoto. I'll play it without the fix because performance is still ok even in 4K if I tweak the graphics a bit.
Indeed, I had found the hide_cursor setting and changed it to 0, and it's visible but of course it's not at the correct screen position for SBS/OU. And for upscaling it doesn't matter because the mouse only works on a 1080p portion of the 4K screen (the known bug). It's a pity that this feature was not fully developed, I imagine it's very hard. I looked on the net and couldn't find anything else similar to this.

The latest update changed most HUD shaders (where I didn't use regex). Easy to fix. But I have to fix the mouse cursor somehow.
I have just bought the expansion, now that it's on a mild sale (15% off, but the previous expansion never went lower than 30%). Be patient, the game will be fixed again :). I have to update my game and play the expansion to check if there are new effects to fix.

For me adjusted from time to time the full screen setting in the video options.
Just check if full screen is selected here.
i hope it helps :)
