Thank you for the reply. I don't have the OLED version, many options are not present on my TV. I've tried whqt you suggested but still no luck. 3D in ripped movies seems to work fine, but not with games. A similar thing happene yesterday when I connected the pyramid and I've tested 3D TV Play. FIrst the games were like now, totally broken in 3D, some textures at screen depth, some at depth, very low concergence and depth in general, etc. Then I did something, I think it was setting the resolution to 720p in-game, and it was perfect 3D. Now, after the EDID override I don't know what to do to make games look normal. I've reconnected the pyramid, but that does not change anything in the Nvidia panel, the only 3D option available is the "Recommended" one, 3D TV is not an option, the EDID TV name is greyed out and no dropdown with other options. I'm sure I'm just missing one element, or a step I've skipped. It does not seem to be an issue of inverted eyes. I have the option to swap them on the TV, I did this with no improvement. I've put the glasses the other way around, etc. It's something else, and it's too similar with what happened w-with 3D TV Play when the resolution was not 720p to be just a coincidence. If you installed EDID correctly, Optimized for GeForce mode should be enabled in NVIDIA Control Panel, and the test pattern should look good. For nearly all games, you will only see good 3D with 3840x2160 in-game resolution (same as Desktop setting).

Just one more element, that confuses the hell out of me. I've just tested by looking at some of my screenshots taken on the PC with the Asus monitor, and they also looked very bad, like the games. But by mistake I forgot to turn the 3D on, on the TV. I perceived some depth so was very confused, and as a goof I've turned the glasses around on my head. Could not believe it, but now the images were correct !!! So, with the EDID override, must I have the 3D on only in game, Ctrl+T? And 3D off on the TV? I've tried it immediately, but it still does not work, only the jps screenshosts are correct with this method. What I noob I am :(

You need to do more research on this forum for understanding the logic and usage, almost every question you asked is explained in details in several topics. Also external sites like "3dvision-blog.com/forum" have guides for EDID and 3DTVs. I understand, you're excited to experience it but with little knowledge you'll complicate simple things. First to understand if your TV's 3D filter (FPR) is faulty or not do as I say in my previous message. Go to Youtube, search for black and white SBS crosstalk test or download the video or made a black and white SBS image in paint to test it with a usb drive. It doesn't matter which input you use, if it's faulty every input will show the same issues. 3D option in the remote will only be used in SBS and T&B, so do not use it with 3DV. With 3840x2160 resolution TV automatically activates 3D. But for starter do these step by step to start from the beginning for more stable results with gaming: - Use HDMI1 input and enable Ultra HD Deep Colour from your TV, also set your TV's "Input Icon" to PC. - Uninstall EDID override from device manager, then delete or move the EDID file you use for installation to another location. Just so you know, I’ve started this endeavour by looking at all the TV-related threads in this forum, made a word document with about 8 links (including this one and the one you provided) and I’ve read through them all. But I think many things remain unsaid on this subject, because most people commenting here take a lot of things for granted and consider many things as already known by all. For someone like me, who since 2011 lives and breathes 3D Vision on monitors every day, it’s difficult to learn about the TV aspect of it, because a lot of things about 3D Vision on TVs are already known, some things are half-guesses, and some are assumed. And no matter how hard I’ve searched, I could not find any comprehensive guide out there that would disambiguate this subject a bit. Anyway, when you sent your reply, I had already discovered many things by my own already. But there was still a lot of frustration, because I can only do this for about 1-2 hours per day after work. So I was not making good progress. For the moment, the only thing I don’t seem to get right is playing games with the override. The only way I got games to work was with 3D TV Play with the pyramid, before the EDID hack. I will follow your steps today, and I hope to have better results. The EDID mod and 3DTV Play are mutually exclusive - the EDID driver override does not work with 3DTV Play (and most 3D blu-ray player apps). Simply reloading NVIDIA driver restores the Generic Monitor driver and 3DTV Play operation. By the way, do NOT use 3D button on TV's remote control with EDID active (seems to add ghosting until TV's power is cycled).

I've done the Rabbit test (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqpXQVkiJic) and a crosstalk test (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HHNACo8uX8) and I still can see the images when looking through the eye that should apparently not see anything. They are dimmed and the rabbit on white is almost not visible, but the one on black is visible in gray with a batman-signal pattern across the screen. Is this normal for passive TVs? Or is this a clear indication that the 3D filter FPR is broken? People who have this TV, for you the image for the blank eye is totally not visible? In this case this is messed up and I should change it. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to determine beyond a doubt that I must return the TV. I have a friend who has the same TV but he's not into 3D a lot. i'll ask him to run the same tests. But I really don't know what to expect for this passive TV. Thanks in advance.

I've ran tests on youtube again and I now found the simple blank and white one other people have mentioned (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-izlPgjOxk) When running this test it's more obvious that the filter has a bird/dove shaped dark pattern across the middle screen section, quite big. I imagine anything outside that pattern suppers from ghosting/crossover, translating to a loss of 3D depth and image doubling. I initially mistook this for an off-axis limitation, but I think now that it is the filter. Below image is from my first 55UH850V, the one with faulty FPR filter. If you're seeing something like below image through the glasses then your TV is faulty too. Correct FPR filters will not show large white areas, they will show uniform gray on all screen or maybe very little white spaces in corners/sides. Take photos of the black/white SBS test through the lenses of the glasses and upload them to here, so we can diagnose more accurately.
Below image is from my first 55UH850V, the one with faulty FPR filter. If you're seeing something like below image through the glasses then your TV is faulty too. Correct FPR filters will not show large white areas, they will show uniform gray on all screen or maybe very little white spaces in corners/sides.

Take photos of the black/white SBS test through the lenses of the glasses and upload them to here, so we can diagnose more accurately.

Thanks Lacuna, that's exactly what I was seeing, my pattern is shapped more like a bird / batman sign :-) I'll try to attach it here. I think this confirms that I have a bad filter. Do you think that the number of bad filters is large? I'm wondering what my chances are to get a good one. I hope I only have to replace it once.

Also for crosstalk on a Passive display, it's imperative that you find and strictly sit in the sweet spot for the best experience. Move back and forth from the TV with a static image displayed, as well as up and down. You'll see the cross talk get better or worse as you move in and out of the sweetspot. Sometimes, the lenses in the glasses are not precisely orientated. When you find the sweetspot, hold the glasses in your hand and look through one eye, slowly rotate them clockwise and counter clock wise a little, if the image improves, the lenses are off. Hopefully, this is not a problem anymore and the quality control got better. But if the FPR screen is bad, you need to return the TV.
Also for crosstalk on a Passive display, it's imperative that you find and strictly sit in the sweet spot for the best experience.

Move back and forth from the TV with a static image displayed, as well as up and down. You'll see the cross talk get better or worse as you move in and out of the sweetspot.

My second one was good. I searched many forums and read people's experiences with this model, so I believe around 30% of the UH850V (or UH8500) TVs have bad FPR filters. Edit: Yeah, your TV definitely has a faulty FPR filter, same as mine. Good luck with the next one. Edit 2: Also try D-man11's advice and try with all the glasses you have to be sure. Edit 3: Show your photo to LG Service or mail it to the their support to make them understand better. Some services may have very little knowledge about the 3D issues. I've also get a reply from my friend, who recently bought a similar TV from the same store. What worries me a little is that he's saying that he has the exact same "batman signal" pattern like me. Is this not too big of a coincidence? Yours looks similar but different, if I can say that ... Would you mind posting a photo of the same test, but with the replacement TV? I'd like to have an idea of how a good filter looks like. Thanks in advance. Edit I've tried D-man11's test, and when I rotate the glasses the only difference I see is that the colour changes to pink/purple, but there is no change in the batman-signal pattern. Both glasses the same. I also noticed what he says about a very fussy sweet spot. The problem is that during the black and white crosstalk test, which I think is the most relevant in this scenario, no matter where I move, the pattern stays exactly the same shape. It's displaced a bit, yes, within the screen, but it retains the same shape. I cannot qualify it as "getting better", right? So it's definitely a defective filter, correct?

I've tried D-man11's test, and when I rotate the glasses the only difference I see is that the colour changes to pink/purple, but there is no change in the batman-signal pattern. Both glasses the same.
I also noticed what he says about a very fussy sweet spot. The problem is that during the black and white crosstalk test, which I think is the most relevant in this scenario, no matter where I move, the pattern stays exactly the same shape. It's displaced a bit, yes, within the screen, but it retains the same shape. I cannot qualify it as "getting better", right? So it's definitely a defective filter, correct?
