I know a few people here have the rog swift monitor just wondering how many of you have noticed the inversion issues when gaming in 3d mode? Its like the image on screen is interlaced made up of lots of lines. Some people probably wont notice it but in some games its pretty bad. Also has anyone noticed rather bad ghosting while running 3d? Im just trying to work out if they all have these issues or some do and some don't?

I got the ROG Swift to go with my GTX 980 last week. I've been playing the hell out of Shadow Of Mordor on it, and tried some FPS games like Borderlands 2, Battlefield 4 and Titanfall.
The inversion lines and patchy ghosting are annoying and for some it will be a deal breaker. I sit a few feet away so they aren't too obvious, but I can tell they are there. Its a shame because 1440 3D should be pin sharp, and to be honest the 3D looks better on my old VG278H (which I sold to my Dad to help fund the ROG Swift).
Other than that I love the screen, and Gsync is really impressive.

See, that's what I thought. When the monitors first starting hitting the US, there was *one* guy in the hardocp forum who gave a 3D Vision review in the monitor's thread and he was absolutely praising it.
So either one of us here won the lottery, or there's some factor involved in getting this monitor to look good.
I also posted this in another thread here covering the same issue, I have no inversion lines, this may be a unit specific issue:
[i][/ROG Swift here and I have been using 3D Vision for about 2 weeks now and have zero issues with inversion striping, vertical or horizontal. Yes there is matte related crystalization, what some owners refer to as a kind of grit on the screen, yes the viewing angles are abysmal compared to IPS but as far as Nvidia 3D vision goes, IT ROCKS. I am absolutely loving it, prefer it over G-Sync.
Games tried so far in 3D vision with this monitor:
AC4: Black Flag
Crysis 3
Batman: AC
It could be the case that the purported issue of inversion striping is unit specific, as many, many have received units that have had issues. My Swift has no dead pixels and 3D Vision looks flawless, Light Boost 2 is also awesome.
So unless youve actually seen these issues yourselves and have inspected one or more other ROG Swift's to confirm the issue isn't unit specific please refrain from saying 3D Vision on the Swift is poor, because it absolutely isn't. i]
you are the first person I have seen that had said this and now I have seen it mines going back to the shop and if the next one is not good im done with it. I have read about people that have gone through 3 or 4 of these with this issue and not one new screen has fixed it. also just today I have noticed very bad backlight bleed yet 2 or 3 days ago it was not bad at all. This monitor is a steaming pile of shit unless they can get it right. Ill be ringing the shop I got it from tomorrow

Hi there,
Logged in just to say, I bought the Swift mainly because the 3D Vision resolution bump. I play mainly in 3D, Batman series, Tomb Raider, Sleeping dogs, etc. And so far I am loving playing in 3D with this monitor. Does it has ghosting? Yes, like my previous VG278H also had. Maybe its my eyes that are defective. But if thats the case I sure don't want to see what you guys are seeing. So far for me I have noticed no problems with 3D Vision.

hmmm maybe not everyone notices the inversion problem I dunno. but I do know my last screen never had it and that was an acer and the 3d on it was pretty good, I actually preferred the 3d on it more then the swift. The inversion thing really does not help, lucky the swift has gsync tho or I would have sold it by now. If I hear that this inversion thing does get fixed I will sell the one I have for one that's fixed.
It seems strange there is such a hold up on the second batch of these monitors its almost like they are trying to fix the issues with the first batch. Next time something new like this comes out ill read in to it a lot more first, mind you I couldn't stay on 1080p any longer I was nice to get away from that

I have no inversion problem with my unit, have even tested it with Blurbustars inversion artifact testar and there is absolutely none, im glad to say :)
But I dont have any 3d vision kit to test it out in 3d tho :/
But the inversion artifacting should also be seen in regular 2d gaming if I understand it correct, have seen that many people have this aweful problem!

It is not awful but its there where it shouldn`t :) and it is only when 3D kicks in so you won`t be seeing this on normal.
Everybody have to know thou - that this is only seen when you are really close to the screen and only on super bright background (like fog, sky). Not a big problem in games like Metro, Batman, Thief, Diablo 3, or even Just Cause 2 (don`t know why).

Black flag assassins creed it is most noticeable when walking around Havana in 3d tho that is. I have noticed it in 2d but it only shows up for like a split second battlefield 4 sometimes on explosions. Yea other games it is hard to notice batman you can on the lights and bright things in the game.
With those inversion lines I feel the resolution may as well be cut in half because if you have those all over the screen you are really only getting half the resolution that you should be.
Im still deciding what do do with my rog swift, I don't think enough people know what the problem is or have seen it for themselves for anything to be done about it. Im still pretty sure all of them have the problem to some extant. Asus have been dead quiet about it I cant see them getting involved to fix it.

Can you check if you have a blurry screen when playing one of this games Witcher 2, Diablo 3, Far Cry 3 when gliding. Also I got Batman Arkham Origins crashing when SLI is on.
On any drivers version which support 1440p (337.88 is first I think).

I have noticed a blurry screen when playing tomb raider not the whole screen tho just lara croft of the girl you play as sometimes the movements are like motion blur which is really weird never saw that on my last screen. That's running the latest drivers too. I want my acer hn274h back haha the rog swift im over it. The acer was rock solid. Im tempted to sell it and get the acer 1080p gsync one

im pretty sure they all have this problem the inversion lines mainly show up on the backgrounds in black flag like on the mountains and that. I have noticed bad ghosting in black flag also other games not so much. Im not going to go through the hassle of changing monitors unless I hear about new ones coming out that don't have this problem. Tomb raider 3d is awesome best 3d I have ever seen. Metro last night I thought the 3d was pretty good too. I just got a store credit of $850 cause the power button fell off my old monitor, not sure what to do haha keep the swift or maybe go to something like that new 34 inch curved lg monitor.

Have given a few other games ago and its not as bad. It seems batman and black flag show the worst of this monitor, probably didn't help that they were the first games I tried in 3d. I think I can live with it now. lucky its got gsync that's the one thing that helps if it didn't have that I wouldn't be so sure about keeping it. The inversion lines are pretty hard to see but they are starting not to worry me as much. Still it would be awesome if they weren't there

I just read this in a sister thread, supposedly there may be a fix/tweak for AC4:
"Hi Vulcan, like Pirateguybrush said, you must use the "Real 3D Fix" for AC4. Out of the box it only shows Fake 3D. So get the fix from here: http://helixmod.blogspot.de/2013/10/game-list-automatically-updated.html, then switch to real 3D and see the difference."
