[quote="helifax"]After investigation is clearly something related with the latest patch and forcing a different Aspect Ratio in the game:( SAD really... With higher resolutions this will happen way faster than at 1920x1080p. 5760x1080 => 5 - 10 minutes. 1920x1080 => 2 hours. But it always happen. You always get the freeze (sooner of later)! ./sigh...

Did more testing and it seems only FULLSCREEN is affected in SURROUND. (You need to Hex Edit the exe to overwrite the Aspect Ratio). Hex Edit + Windowed Mode works perfectly fine. Modified Exe + 1080p doesn't freeze but stutters (instead of freezing) and reverts back to normal after 5 seconds (instead of a freeze). Maybe they do some integrity checks or something so... So there it is:(

Did I get it right that there still is no solution for the freezing problem? I am playing the game on my LG 4K OLED using EDID override and strangely I had absolutely no issues before the Undead Settlement chapter. So I already was in the game for way over 10 hours when the freezing issue showed its ugly face. Somehow the freezing just happened a couple of times during the Undead Settlement chapter but now that I am in the Farron Keep chapter I am literally stuck since the freezing constantly occurs every 3-4 minutes while wandering around the swamp. It even doesn't matter for how long I am already playing. This game with helifax' fix is an absolute stunner so I would really REALLY love to keep playing but it seems there is still no fix for the freezing in sight, right!?

Is not actually hacking, is more like "Game Mode" (like they are advertising for a future update). It relies on modifying how Windows "works". I didn't posted it here, since most people can't copy files or edit ini files, let alone do something to this degree. If you are interested though (and are willing to possibly break your Windows Installation) let me know and I can tell you what to do:)

Did anyone try Dark Souls III using the newest driver 378.49? Just did a 2 hours+ session yesterday and the game didn't freeze a single time (I didn't apply Helifax' "game mode" workaround yet). That doesn't mean the new driver solves the freezing issue for Dark DS III (definitely more testing required) but at least I can confirm that I ALWAYS got freezes in short intervals before installing the newest driver while my 2 hours+ session yesterday using the new driver worked like a charm! Update: played another lengthy session yesterday! Still no freeze! Maybe the newest driver really fixes the freezing issue......

I hope this is the right thread for help with the 3d fix. When I enable 3d vision in DS3, I get this: http://i.imgur.com/WSVmzUV.png When I disable the 3d effect, but with 3d still enabled (ctrl-t), I get this http://i.imgur.com/tS1upKt.png Note that a piece of the armour is to the right of the character, and stays in the same relative position to the camera (not the character). I've tried installing the 3d fix, but all it does is disable the steam overlay so I can't take screenshots. The hotkeys don't appear to do anything, so I'm not sure it's fully kicked off. Are there any known problems with it currently or am I just doing something fantastically wrong?

Just a quick game-related noob-question (can't find any answer searching the net): Every "fire-effect" in the game appears in blue color for me instead of the usual orange-yellow color. I know there must be some stupidity goin on on my side but I can't find any solution. Every bonfire is blue, the lava appears blue and most importantly every fire effect on weapons also has blue color (where I would definitely prefer the usual color). Could it have soemthing to do with the state that my character is in (I never healed the dark sigil due to ridiculous costs). Also it seems my Estus flasks switched colors. The HP-Estus Flask (should be of orange-yellow color) has blue color instead while the Ashen Estus Flask (which should have blue color) appears in orange-yellow color!? Please help! :-) On a side note: Using driver 378.49 (for at least 30 hours now) I experienced not a single crash. Before using that driver I faced constant freezes!

When I was playing DS3, all bonfires/flames would either boot up orange/red (normal) or blue, and remain that color until the game was restarted. I played entire game thinking that was standard DS3 behavior, until a forum discussion revealed that no color change had been made in the game. I believe this issue may tied to the 4K EDID mod (and color coordinates), since only 4K EDID users seem to have encountered this color shift.

It was discussed before in this thread or another thread. It has to do with the EDID override (for some weird reason which I don't know, can't test). :(
