IR Reciver Hack? Use the IR reciever to recieve IR from remotes to do various tasks?
Hi.

Currently i own a spare small IR remote controler, and i programmed my rooms dimmer to work on a particular button.
My dream would be to control my music on my PC throu same remote.
So with that, i thouth would it be possible to use my IR transmitor to recieve Infrared signals from different sources? (in this case, IR Remote)
If it would recognise some sort of input from IR remote, then the next step would be to convert that inputed information in to music changing action...

I thought the emitter only controlled the glasses with an ir-signal. In this case the actual emitter doesn't recieve ir.

not sure why you would think that the IR EMITTER can receive IR signals, but you could just spend $2 dollars on a USB IR receiver from amazon or pretty much any computer supply place..

Well.. i looked all over internet and it costs more than $2, and its not really a common thing.. And i thouth it would be really cool to use my nice emmiter as a reciever, as it looks good and is already in the center of the screen and all.. i thouth ill save some money and equipement... I suerly dont know if it can recieve IR signals, so that would be my first question.. can it?

Unless nvidia implemented it for future uses (highly unlikely), then no.
