Fix what mate? The fix IS WORKING AS INTENDED! And it still works! Do your research before blaming the fix for not working :) It's the game mate! It crashes on anything higher than 1080p even 21:9 resolution. Better yet BLAME CAPCOM for not giving 2 cents about fixing their game... This is a KNOWN issue since DAY one of the game: https://steamcommunity.com/app/221040/discussions/0/828934089763530513/ https://steamcommunity.com/app/21690/discussions/0/496880203080330915/ Roll back to drivers: 310.90 (bet you can't).
solved! i rolled back to the older 310,90 nvidia driver -> game works perfect now! it doesnt work with nvidias newest drivers for me! -> what a crap, patch this capcom
So.. SHITTY CONSOLE PORT AGAIN! Edit: That is a DIRECTX 9 error or engine Error. I see it seems to work fine in 1920x1080p but not in Surround for some reason... So far, I don't have a solution for this except use older GPU + Older drivers or Stick to 1 screen :( (It crashes in the damn VIDEOS - WMV - that are pre-recorded and not in the actual game). Only solution is to STICK to one screen BEFORE a stupid movie plays. After which it works perfectly fine in Surround. Or download a pirated version of the game:) HAHAHA! That one works! GG Steam for an awesome "re-release" or Capcom or whoever made it...

I only have the "regular" edition (whatever that is now) ;)) on Steam. Is that Gold Edition DLC purchasable? Edit: NVM. I found my answer:
If you already own regular RE5 through either Steam or a boxed retail Games For Windows Live, you can acquire a free Steamworks copy of the base game and then purchase the new Gold Edition content for $14.99.
Well F them! NOT going to buy the same GAME twice! I'll STICK WITH THE PIRATED VERSION WHICH WORKS! ;) (Even if I have the regular edition which is now worthless... pff) Edit 2: Right the so-called "Gold Edition" is RE5 + DLC: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/62118/ Awesome... So, if I probably buy the DLC I get the "Gold" Edition which might work?!?! @masterotaku: What Windows are you using 10 or 7? Also to fully test this: - Start the game - Start A NEW GAME - For us it crashes before the intro WMV. If I run it in 1080p and get inside the game then I can switch back to Surround or 21:9 and works perfectly fine in-game. But it always crashes when it tries to play certain movies...

Windows 7. The mission I loaded didn't have any cutscene. I'll try starting a new game when I'm home. I just started at work now, so you'll have to wait at least 10 hours. By the way, the game should be the same for all of us. You just can't access the DLC.

You are right, Helifax. I loaded a cutscene from the menu at 2560x1080 and the game crashed with that "Unsupported function" error.

thank you for your searchs :) Helifax wrote ' It's the game mate! My suggestion is that you have to memorize which missions have prerendered cutscenes and change your resolution to one with 16:9 aspect ratio just before one of those cutscenes happens.
