The new SolutionGaming website has launched. Solutions / Tips / Screenshots / Reviews
  1 / 2
The new SolutionGaming 'beta' website has launched.

Though very much a 'work-in-progress' project, the base of the site is uploaded and working (with a few niggles)

As well as the A-Z solutions, the site now has a features page, currently reviewing a large selection of driving/racing games, with plenty of 3D and 2D screenshots.

In a more pending state, we have RYMES reviews. Many of you will already be aware of Rymes work in the SLI forums, SolutionGaming will now also host his reviews, currently their are only 4 reviews, which still need designing and screenshots adding. I have a whole host of reviews to add, starting with Metro 2033, all of which I hope will be added in the coming weeks. My thanks goes to Ryme for allowing me to host his reviews and his advice/support during production.

The A-Z is also having a overhaul, with 3D screenshots being added to every game. Infact im also adding screenshots to games that don't currently have a live solution, so the A-Z will double as a screenshot library for all games in 3D. (special thanks must go to FERRY, for the many screen grabs he his provided). The library of screenshots is already very large, so I don't expect much delay in adding these to the site.

No sooner do I upload the site, I jump ship. Im now off to Scotland for a week, and will start the update/fix process on my return.

I hope you all enjoy the new look site, and hope you bare with me while I iron out the layout problems.

All forms are fully working, so please feel free to submit your solutions/tips/comments through the site, or just post any comments on this thread.

Much MUCH better mate! :)

The only niggle for me is the tiled background on the left and right panels. It looks unfinished. Make all the background black like the rest of the page or something. Enjoy your holiday and cudos for including member's reviews etc!

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Not happy.

There are major issues - like on front page, even when I set FF to full screen on 1600x1200 screen, middle frame still needs to be scrolled left/right.
I find this unacceptable.

Also, 'standard' frame scroll bars really break the look of page.
Not happy.

why the hell are you using frames ?
just have it all in the same page as blogs do with their archive month lists
and why do their eyes blink ? do you really have to use gifs everywhere ? gifs look horrible as they are limited to 256 colors.

Wow really guys? The only thing you can do is complain? I'm not sure if you missed the first line of his post but it says

Nice first impression to make on a guy who is trying to make a site to better our community. I thought we here at SLI-Zone/Nzone had more class then that. Though I am not yet a 3dVision gamer I find that this site will be an awesome resource for those of you who have tips tricks and need help to get this technology working at it's peak. My hat is off to Solutiongaming and all of the hard work he has put into the site already. I know it will improve with time but so good so far brother!

Yes ,looks much better... /sweat.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I do agree aboud the background..,it looks a little outdated ,like the walls of an old Doom game.
Maybe you can use something that's more peacefull to the eyes, with less borders (how do I explain this in Englisch ?) etc.

All in all, you did great,...we must not forget it's only one men that puts his spare time in this new website.
Can't wait till it's finished.

Well, this are complaints to make things better!

If someone is trying to make a site which will attract people, he should consider complaints too, and see if it's worth to do something about it or not.

man so much haterade lol.

I think the site looks vastly improved, nice job SG! Can always use more of these database type sites as resources for the 3D Gamer. So few of us guys, try to be a bit more constructive in your criticisms. :)

As for the .gifs, some flash or SL animations would be a lot nicer there, maybe even borrow some code from Nvidia if they have fansite kits they make publicly available.

Don't let the criticism get you down m8. What you do is very beneficial to S-3D gamers. The content is what counts. Interface, touch and feel, are nice but not a requirement from a gamer' site, you can bring it to date at your own pace. For me, as long as I can get the fix for my games to go S3D seamlessly I'm happy, everything else is just bonus.

Yea it looks good mostly. The only complaint I have is the side scrolling for the info. I don't know something about side scrolling make me not want to do it even if the info is important to me. I would rather have an extra long page and read it top to bottom then scroll side to side but that's just what I think.

Well there are critical suggestions and then there is just being outright rude. I have a feeling you can guess which of those two a few of the above posts are.

Good job. Keep up the good work.
All things take time. Experimenting and finding what works
I find that function comes before flashy.

I've added this to my bookmarks and will be adding a link from my site as well

Logged on via iPod, mixed comments. I agree horz scrolling not nice. Gifs not liked, taken on board. Frames being web novice unsure how to layout page with no frames but could reduce number of frames to maybe just v 2.

In otherwords I'll make site simpler. All done in dreamweaver so making blog style, single page hard, wud av no idea how to make searchable content.

Thanks for positive comments, thanks for constructive criticism and comments. Though a little over harsh in places

Nightmare typing this on iPod, will leave till return now.
