GTX590 and 3D Vision question
Hey all,

Yesterday I got a GTX590 EVGA Classified. In the control panel under AA there is more choices than with the GTX570 I was running.
It now goes a bit beyond the 4XAA up to 32AA - as it ws on my GTX570. Now it has 'multi GPU' choices up to 64CSAA.
The problem is that when I select any of the 'multi gpu' choices my 3d Vision goes twice as dark as it does with the standard choices.
It also seems to get a bit 'buggy' beyond kust the darkeness level.
I go back to any of the normal AA settings and its all good.
So Im not sure if this is a driver issue or just a biproduct of the GTX590. Im a bit confused because the 590 is multi. But Im not sure it is considered
multi as in 'SLI'. Im thining maybe Nvidia considers multi to be SLI...no idea.
Im wanting the best quality I can get but any benefit is lost in the darkness with the higher settings.

Just looking for some feedback from anyone who might have some thoughts on this. Ive tried several versions of 590 drivers but there is no difference.

Thanks alot, Danny

Just thought of something...
The 590 is 'dual' core not 'multi' core.
Perhaps this is the issue.

Danny, there is no difference in saying that the GTX 590 is dual gpu or multi-gpu. In fact, with one GTX 590 the Nvidia control panel characterizes it as multi-GPU, precisely because it has TWO gpu's on a card. SLI for a GTX 590 means 2x GTX 590's or QUAD-GPU.

Your problem of it darkening with multi-GPU or SLI anti-aliasing modes, could be a bug in the driver.

I was thining it was driver but Ive tried them all. Whenever I enable any of the AA settings to a 'multi' setting the 3d Vision goes too dark to use and I get problems within the game.
On the control panel window where you can adjust Physx there is also 3 boxes you can check. I think one is for 'maximum 3d performance', 'disable multi gpu'....not sure the third. Anyway....nowhere does it say enable SLI or anything. On the physics side I have checked the 'nvidia auto' setting and that seems to dedicate itself to only using one gpu for physics. Could this be whats happening for 3d as well? When I check any of the 'multi AA' settings it is trying to run off only one gpu?
Im kind lost with it. I plan to call EVGA today and get they're take on it.

ANy ideas...please let me know. Thanks

I spoke to a tech at EVGA tonght, We tried a number of things but ultimatley nothing works. He thinks its driver related.
If I enable 'multi XX AA' my 3d Vison goes extrmely dark.
If I run only 32CSAA everything works just fine.

Help please... thx
