So I'm interested in experiences of people who tried it: how good is it for 2D (desktop/watching movies) and in 3D (how much ghosting, and how bad is top/bottom ghosting on it)?

Me too! I read it has a sharpening effect, but is it as bad as the Acer GD245HQ?
The 3dvision-blog have a picture, but is white text on black background and I can't see anything wrong with it:

The sharpening/overdrive effect is most notorious with black text on grey.

Can someone take a picture with black text on grey background? Thank you :)

From what I been able to gather around the web, its an ok monitor.
Its main problems are:
1) Unlike the ACER there is no way to turn off the Overdrive (Not even in the Service Menu). This may or may not (Depending on the user) make 2D use a pain in the arse.
2) Its ability to show Black (And shades of Black) is badder than all the other 120 Hz Monitors.
That being said - With Thru-mode enabled (Its off by default) the monitor got the best Input Lag there is (0).
Frankly, all these 120 Hz monitors got good and bad things about them. If you ask me, there aint simply such a thing as the BEST 3D monitor.
My advice:
If you are a first-time buyer, buy a 2nd generation 120 Hz monitor.
If you already own a 1st generation, wait for the 3rd generation 120 Hz monitor.
And of course, going to your local hardware-pusher to actully SEE the monitor in action with and without 3D will ALWAYS be the best option. So get looking!

1. it seems its too much sharpening and not overdrive that makes these 2D problems
- here's an experiment to show that OVERDRIVE does not cause the DISPLAY SHARPNESS
enter service menu
switch OD to OFF
go to Reset, hit the 3rd button
the sharpness should go away, and brightness should increase
switch OD to ON
go to Reset, hit the 3rd button
the brightness should decrease, sharpness doesnt come back
exit service menu (but dont restart the monitor)
go to http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/sharpness.php
notice that there's no oversharpening (the image is uniform gray when looked from distance, no blocks)
play a 3d game
notice that there's no ghosting (OVERDRIVE IS ACTIVE)
all in all, they goofed up with this monitor's firmware

2. I thought this LG W2363D where among the best in this regard
- On W2363D I can distinguish almost all shadow of dark grey except for the 1-2 darkest shades. This is a good shadow detail results and W2363D maintains a lot of detailing in dark scenes in games and movies. This is positive.

While the Asus VG236H for instance where unacceptable
- The display was equally unable to separate very dark grays from absolute black. As a result, we had a difficult time seeing what was happening in the Blu-ray version of Watchmen’s opening fight sequence.

Plan on getting it, as ASUS GD236H is not available in this area and PG276 is vaporware...
So I'm interested in experiences of people who tried it: how good is it for 2D (desktop/watching movies) and in 3D (how much ghosting, and how bad is top/bottom ghosting on it)?
