Dragon Age Inquisition

Hey Guys, I just wanted to report the fix is working beautifully here! The game looks really really nice. I only tested it for about a half hour (in the area before the very first boss fight) but I didn't have any crashes or anything 'weird' happen. I also ran it with PrecisionX (wanted my fan profile) and had no problems. I have everything set at High in 5760x1080 and am getting an average of about 42-3fps with dips which cause a slight stutter when they happen. I'll try the BF4 profile tomorrow and report back....Mike you were saying on Helix Mod the scaling is better with it? I'm with you, I'd rather smother game play with the occasional blip. There are so many of us (all the forum creepers) who can't thank the 3D dream team enough for all the time and effort you guys put into this fix. The game really shines with it. Hopefully we can get some performance love in the next patch. Oh and before I forget, SLI seemed to be working normal for me since GPU usage on both cards was consistently in the 90% range...is there something I'm not getting regarding about the borked nature of SLI in this game?

Master H can i just copy the files from V6 into the DAI folder or do i have to uninstall V.5 first? Any luck with the Skybox removal? If not it's OK... :') Oh guess what? I can get 28+ fps now in 3D Vision! Which means i can play it in 3D! Not sure if V.5 was responsible or if the Overclocking takes the credit. or maybe selecting the GTX 470 for cuda instead of both cards? Also turned off AA in CP... Virtual reality PRF was set at 4 before, set that at 0. Thanks again! I really hate to ask this here but my fav PC game Halo 2... What are the chances of a fix?

Just a hint: What helped me against CTDs and other crashes: Disable "Origin in Game" in the Origin settings. Since I did this, I got no more crashes at all. Before that I had CTDs nearly every 15 min. Sometimes cause and effect is really weird.

Part of the update involved removing some shaders and these will stick around if you just overwrite.

Ähm, one question. Is this normal or a thing we have to live with if we want 3D: the loading times are much more than normal isnt it ... if the fix is applied ?
Ouch! You definitely have Origin in game off? I was really dubious about the worth of doing a full re-install since everyone seems to have that zone problem. However, try this. (with registry change to stop 3d vision it from autostarting starting.) Load into game world. Ctrl + T to check rendering. If broke, Ctrl T to go back to 2D Alt + Tab to desktop. Click back to game Ctrl +T to turn 3d back on. rinse and repeat. On the rare occasion I have still have issues with rendering, this appears to come right after a couple of tries. Every now and then it will still crash but that method works for me. Also make sure vsync is off in game and control panel.
Yep origin and vsync off. So I tried to boot it again. Took a solid 10 minutes to get to the menu. It keeps getting worse. (the .bins were already cached). Then I loaded into the game. Surprise, surprise, some more 2d shlt. Then I alt-tabbed and clicked back in and it crashed. Fantastic. Another 10 minutes later it loads again a bit faster but still much slower than before. Every alt tab just breaks some shaders while fixing others. Unfortunately there's always something big broken. Once it's my character model, another it's the trees in the background, another it's the floor. This is all with the driver 3d driver registry setting modified.
Ähm, one question. Is this normal or a thing we have to live with if we want 3D: the loading times are much more than normal isnt it ... if the fix is applied ?
The fix doesn't make the game load slower. That is the Shader Cache being turned off in the nvidia driver. Caching shaders means the driver stores them in a "place" and next time the game is loaded it loads them directly from there as a bulk rather than compiling/loading each individual shader and thus shortening the load time. In our case we want to swap the original shaders with our modified shaders every time the game loads them and thus the driver shader cache must be turned off.

Back in 2013 when i all i had was 3DTV Play on my 40" 3DTV, it took Skyrim like 5+ minutes to load for 1920 x 1080 @24hz output! Maybe it has something to do with rendering the game on such a large display? Also, whenever i use MSI Afterburner it automatically prevents Origin in game... Wait, so V-Sync is not supposed to be used? I thought it is better with 3D Vision? I just started using V-Sync again with Triple Buffering in an experiment to get more fps, i think it helps...
