Nvidia support hasn't been any help with this problem, though I'd try the forum. I cannot activate 3DTV play on multiple computers in multiple locations. I first had a remote location in NJ(im in AZ) call me to troubleshoot the 3D activation. Getting the error licensing server unavailable.
So we put the PC on DMZ in the network and disabled any firewalls, same problem. Bought a new code, since the list I had was nearing 30 days(just to make sure that wasn't the issue), and same problem. Tried the newest drivers then reverted to 344.65(ones that had definitely worked before with this setup). I was first using a gt 630 so we swapped for gt 730, same problem. So the remote location swapped the entire computer, same problem. Took those PC's to yet another location(to be sure it wasnt the networkk connectivity), and same problem. So then I tried two PC's here in AZ and same problem. All are giving the message that they cannot contact licensing server. I've been in contact with Nvidia since Thursday, where they promised a 24 hours response and i got none. I keep calling daily but they cannot even tell me what the problem is, only that it is being looked at. I have orders to fill that needs these activated before I can ship these out, so this is incredibly frustrating to deal with.

It almost sounds like your IPs are being blacklisted, unless of course the server is really down ... any idea what IP it's trying to connect to when it activates? Maybe someone could try Pinging it ... you might be able to request another IP from your ISP or try using a VPN/Proxy Server? Other than that maybe someone else can chime in about being able to activate it recently or not.

No idea which IP they are connecting to, but it cant be blacklisted as there are multiple sources. I activate 20-30 of them from my location here in AZ monthly and I had 3 other locations report the same(companies not affiliated with us and completely different locations).

I have the same issue here in Germany... i ve chatted with one from nvidia support, this guy was more then stupid! I Ve told that i cant reach that server and he wanted a screenshot of my mail from the order with that code. Than he asked me if i have the right system time one so one... oh my god!!!
But for now it seems, this is not my problem... I also tried direct connection without firewall. No i will run wireshark to see where is the connection going to. This software to expensive for already bought 700 bucks card :( if it dont work within the nex days i make a refund.

We've only had one other user that has posted here mentioning a problem connecting to the authentication server.
That was in this thread https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/802767/
The user never posted back if it was resolved. So if you have any success, please post the solution here.
Anyway, it seems that Gareth knows about this issue. So I recommend that you PM him. Here's an excerpt from that thread.
"Just to update....
After almost 20 days exchanging emails and information with the support, I get this message:
"Sorry for the delay. I've looked into this issue, and unfortunately, 3DTV Play activation is not currently working. It is being evaluated to be fixed in a future software update, but there is no current workaround available. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Yep they did the same here but ive been trying to escalate this for days. What is the worst about it is they cannot tell if their activation server is down. I can deal with an ETA but all im getting from their support is their standard candid responses. So this must mean their activation server is down, yet its been a week and they still cant tell me? They charge 40 dollars per code.

You might try posting in the most recent driver feedback thread. It's the only thread that is actively monitored by Nvidia personnel.

There's alway's the possibility of this being driver related. It wouldn't hurt to role back to an earlier driver and give it a try. Be sure to use DDU (Direct Driver Uninstaller)

I did do a driver rollback. I tried the latest and 344.65(which i know it has worked on). I have done the DDU and even done all of this on a PC fresh out of the box from HP with no software/card even loaded. Not a driver issue from what i can tell.

Exact same issue, I just re-built my machine after a motherboard failed and trying to set up 3dtvplay I get the error:
{Red X] The Licensing Server is Unavailable. Please Try Again Later.
I am going to click the trial button and hope it gets solved within 14 days.
Definitely only an activation issue as all of the main 3d components (card, TV) are all the same.
I know.. there is a 5 time activation limit on 3D TV Play...
I also know that if you e-mail/contact Nvidia support they will reset the activation limit...
There was a post about this somewhere around here...(but can't find the link to it just now..)
Maybe this is the case?

It seems that nvidia knows now about this problem, we have to wait... but i need it, and i dont want reinstall windows to get a new trial in the meantime :(
Next time i made a snapshot before activating trial time.
Sorry nVidia, this is not ok! First i buy a card for around 700 bucks and then i have to buy again for 50 bucks (in germany its not the same price as in US) for a driver?! And then the driver activation does not work because your server are down?! oh my god!!!

Yea I already talk to them about the 30 day thing since i've had to deal with that many times in the past. It appears like it wasnt to do with that. I agree it is unacceptable that they charge this much for a program they obviously don't support. There are alot of alternatives to Nvidia btw I was looking at Tri-def. If I have to pay for something Id rather it work. My company activates about 20-30 of these a month and these codes are the biggest headache. The 3D has never been a problem its always been the activation. 10% of the activations fail and require an OS reinstallation(sometimes it works with DDU). I call for support on this stuff and I always get the same answer, the tech doesn't know and their backend team will figure it out. One time we had them take 6 months to refund a code because it took 6 months for them to investigate the issue and figure out we need a refund. I know 3DTV is dead but you'd think they'd atleast support the products they sell. More than a week outage for a 50 dollar program and their support still doesn't know its a outage. It takes various email exchanges before they "escalate" it and we are told its being looked at.

I can't even use the trial. The icon is showing the 3dtv play like it should in the nvidia control panel. It shows the 14 day trial is active. But when launching any program(mine and some other games) it still wont initalize the 3D API. Anytime in the past I had this problem I've had to reimage the PC and reactivate it. This still didnt/doesn't work. So I now have 3 customers of mine that cannot use my program because they cannot get passed this simple activator or even use the trial.
