Thank you for taking the time to help me out Fox1966, I appreciate it. I'll try doing as you suggest and let you know. I take it that you are using the Panasonic 3d glasses?

Hey, yes, I am using the Panasonic glasses. :)

I installed the iz3d drivers. launched a game and got "can't find stereo device" and the image was 2D. How do I make it go into 3D?

I'm not an expert, but it sounds like your 3d display device is not set up correctly through your Nvidia control panel.

I'm surprised that no one was able to make a crack to activate the 3DTV play drivers without the IR transmitter ...

I still can not get this to work. iz3d does not give me any option for side by side. I'm totally lost here. If you have time, could you please go over the whole process in a janet and john way.
Maybe its because I have downloaded the latest version and it no longer has these options ?

Many thanks for all your help so far mate.

I totally agree, there are some very clever people out there and I'm sure that it can be done. Maybe they think that it's just a waste of time, as they think that Nvidia will be putting it out very soon.

I'm very surprised and disappointed that Nvidia have not even bothered to explain what is causing the delay. This is neither professional or fair to the supporters of their product.

No idea, all i know is im using my HDTV at 1080p in 3d and its smooth as silk and looks fantastic, and im now happy :D dont even need 3dtv play. Only thing is i need to wait for direct x 11 support to play just cause 2, but playing that at 1080p BARGAIN! if you have a samsung just get tridef people!
[/quote]

I've got a LG LX9500 55", I have watched this thread for awhile hoping someone had the same 3dtv, I've downloaded tridef but in the "display settings" there is only samsung listed as a 3d manufacturer.. So my question is should I use the samsung setting "3D-ready 50" PDP HDTV L/R" or would the "standard display settings" and use "side by side (parallel)? because my lg has checkerboard 3d setting too...

Ok you need to reinstall the IZ3d driver but instead of doing the standard installation do a full installation with all the different 3D formats. P.S I hope this helps /wave.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Does iz3d do full HD 3d bluray as well as games and is it limited to hdmi 1.4 only?

I have a Panasonic VT25, and a Nvidia 3dtv No Play 460 card. I tried the IZ3D drivers with Gears of War 1, Starcraft 2, Metro 2033, and a few others in side by side mode. None of them work. Mostly just crash to desktop. I can get through the stereo test just fine though. Kiwi, I did the same thing during installation, read Jade's message above.

At me TV Panasonic VT25. A video card GTX 295. The stereo mode in games works only in a mode 1920Ñ…1080Ñ…24. And that only in some games, (for example, in FarCry at inclusion of this mode and TV switching in a stereomode - in general the black screen). Too most in Timeshift. A mode 720Ñ€ in games in general unusable - in the middle of the screen the image horisontally flattened and distorted - in all games.

When I run iz3D setup, I get the control center which shows only four choices of output devices, none of which are any type of HDTVs, 'iz3d monitor' is default. When I hit 'apply', nothing happens. Is this normal? When I run the test app, I get 'cannot find 3D device' and no 3D effect. How can I get the drivers to install correctly?

Who can enlighten me here please and point in right direction to get 3DTV mode with my Geforce 9800GTX:

- My friend's working set up = SAMSUNG 3DTV connected through DVI to HDMI cable to GTX 470 card with NVIDIA driver 260.99 - works a treat in 3D mode with gaming or 3D bluray without the need for Nvidia IR emitter. TV goes in 3D mode automatically when he is ticking the box in NVIDIA panel stereoscopic 3D menu and with resolution 1080 @ 24HZ or 720 at 60Hz.

- My SAMSUNG 3DTV connected through DVI to HDMI cable to 9800GTX card with NVIDIA driver 260.99 - when you are ticking the box in NVIDIA panel stereoscopic 3D menu and with resolution 1080 @ 24HZ or 720 at 60Hz -> it goes to the next menu advising to connect your 3D Vision IR emitter (which I don't have).

Now comes the question: is that hardware itself (i.e. GTX 470) which does not require 3DTV Play software and IR emitter to work with 3DTV in 3D mode or something else?
Do I need to get 3DTV Play soft to enable my 9800 GTX or there are some other tricks around presumably staing with NVIDIA?

Rufm you have 2 options.

Option 1
Wait for 3d tv play software release. Was supposed to be released at end of november but hasn't been. When released it will be $40 dollars. No one knows when it will come out.

Option 2
Buy 3D vision bundle.(It includes the 3d tv play software) http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4386845&CatId=5956 $160 dollars. You will lose $120 dollars but you will get it now. Keep in mind the software could come out tommorrow or three months from now. No one knows.

Option 3
Buy 3d vision bundle.http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4386845&CatId=5956 160 dollars. Then sell it on ebay 100 dollars(estimation).

I'm going with option 3. Hope I helped.

Ok I tried installing it again on my PC and realised that you need to do a custom installation, so you can select all the 3D formats. sorry for the confusion /thanks.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thanks:' />

Thanks for your willingness to help. When you go with your 3# option my best guess is that to keep it going you'd need to keep your IR emitter so, you would not be able to sell leftovers for any price. So does not sound as an option at all. First two options - is no brainer mate :-(
