Dome - Sphere Fisheye Projections - wide Field of View FOV
Andrew, several papers have been written that a wide FOV will give a better 3D experience than just S3D. Below are some links to some wide FOV solutions - some involving domes and hmd's. Does nvidia have plans to support "fisheye" rendering to support these resolutions with directx or opengl games? I was speculating on getting the veiwsonic s3d projector and a fisheye lens, but if your drivers and software don't warp the scene, it won't be as pleasant. Are any of your people internally using a dome or wide field of view technology of any kind?

This type of product would likely be supported by our Quadro team right now until it becomes more turnkey for the home gamer.

Not for the HMDs but for the POD and similar spherical projection systems, maybe you would need also glasses with special shape, I mean, I know that periferic vision is not 3D, but the part of the image above and below the eyes vision is somewhat tridimensional (although not so 3D as the front part of the image seen by the eyes)

Moreover, although we would assume that the tridimensionality of the periferic (up and down) vision is not worth, I am afraid that the simple fact that you wear dark glasses with thick frame breaking a clean environment perception, would kill the spherical environment feeling quite a lot. Or I am wrong? I have never tested a POD like that with glasses...
