play games in 3d on 2 or more monitors at once? I am assuming each monitor would have to be 120hz and each monitor would have to be powered by a single GPU so you wouldn't lose all of your framerate.
3d is beautiful in 1680x1050 but think of it at 3360x2100 with 2 monitors or 5040x3150 with 3. This would defitnely hit your wallet but if you have the money think how cool it would be in games like need for speed.

Not enough bandwidth with DVI. You are going to have to wait for a card with displayport/hdmi 1.4 before we can do anything like this i think.

But wouldn't running each monitor on its own seperate video card work? At this moment, you probably would only be able to do 2 monitors since they are still working on drivers for 3-way SLI and quad-sli, right? You would need a beast of a computer but if the ati eyefinity can do it, then why not with nvidia sli? I will be waiting for the new nvidia cards to see if they have their own 'nfinity', directx11, and plus I don't want to lose 3d vision.

It's not possible with 3D Vision, as currently it only works on the main monitor, in full screen. It's not currently possible outside of ATI's Eyefinity to run multiple instances of a game in full screen on every monitor, even in 2D, because Vista doesn't allow you to full screen a game in your secondary monitor; it has to be the primary or windowed in the secondary (not sure about W7). I really wish it supported this, TBQH, because it's more than possible with today's hardware.

Not true at all. You can run triple monitors with full-screen games on Nvidia cards or older generations ATI cards and people have been doing this for years (w/ TH2G or SoftTH). Check the date on this video:

Regarding doing triple-head in stereo 3d, I would be interested in this too. From what I understand the Nvidia 3D driver will only enable on the main (center) screen. The peripheral screens could still work in 2D but not w/ 3D. So using the Nvidia driver is probably out of the question, even assuming a 120Hz sync could work across multiple video-cards/monitors. I do know someone got the Zalman Trimon 19" working in stereo 3d triple-head but I can't find the thread at the moment (can't remember if it was with TH2G or what). However the TH2G has bandwidth limitations over DVI so 1680x1050x3 is only supported at 57Hz, which rules out the Samsung/Viewsonic 120Hz monitors. SoftTH could probably handle it but, again, the Nvidia driver will only enable on one screen.

Another option would be the iz3D monitor, which is supported on the TH2G. However this is not with the full 5040x1050 resolution. From what I heard it will only work with 3x1280x1024 due to the bandwidth limitations I mentioned. I am not sure if SoftTH is supported with iz3D.

Third option would be to use the Zalman Trimon 22" monitor in triple-head but with the iz3D drivers or maybe the TriDef Ignition drivers. I have no idea if this is supported but its a possibility. I am actually getting a second Zalman sometime this month and I will test this. If it works I will pick up a 3rd. I am planning on running this with SoftTH, but again this is all speculation that it will work. I kinda feel like taking a gamble though, would be really cool it it paid off.

However the more I think about it, the more I think triple 3D would be a huge hassle and lots of $$$ for very little returns. The fact is that naturally (in real life) your peripheral vision is not in 3D. Only the center, overlapping, portions of your two eyes create a stereoscopic image. So the 2 side screens, for your peripheral, would barely be in 3D and it would just be a waste. Assume you were sitting so the 3 screens filled your vision perfectly, you could only actually obtain 3D on about 20% of the side monitors. Look at the diagram below to see what I am talking about. Only the gray striped box in the middle would be viewable in stereo 3d.

So really it seems like a lot of money and hassle for very little return. That said, I still want to do this just to see if it works. However I think if you had a triplehead setup with just the center screen in 3D and the side screens 2D that would still add a lot to the experience.
