I have read in this forum and want to ask what I could best choose for 3D.
I had used 3D some years ago with the Elsa Revelator but something my Driver is broken and the NVidia-Panel only shows the Polarized Glasses-Mode. But I cant use it at another reason. I now have a TFT-Monitor.
So I bought a eDimensional-Card in the hope of some 3D but for some reason it doesnt work so good. Firstly even X2 is stucking in framerate. So it wouldnt make fun. Next its flickering more than the old system and desyncs are there too. I have 7800GTX and dont want to buy a new card only to play X2. Crysis or something wouldnt run at all I think.
So this arent good enough solutions I think...
I have some of these Anaglyph-Viewers but didnt tested it till now.
I have read here in this forum that the newer version is the one where at both sides of the monitor are showed one Image and that it merges to one 3D-Image.
Is this technique resulting in a similar framerate like interleaved-mode(thats the one whats edimensional is using for tfts isnt it?)?
But at the end I want another thing I think.
I would like to have 3D. With a good image and if possible no flickering or framerateloss.
I dont like this 3D-TFTs too much. Firstly because I want to buy a bigger tft in future and the TFTs for 3D are not very big. 22" or so is the biggest. And I dont want to buy such a TFT as a second TFT.
And it seems that NVIDIA stopped developing their 3D for selling more Zalmans? Or is this only rumors. Thats another reason a 3d-TFT would be one of the laster choices for me.
So I think the only possibility would be a beamer isnt it? Are there only DLP-Beamer usable?

... i have a projector and a 7900 gto (and CRT) .... which is ok for me ...
.... only DLP Projectors are working , you find a list somewhere
(mine runs in economy mode which should last for 3000 hours - yes,pleease)

You might want to take a look at the Zalman Trimon monitor. The one available now is only 22" but they are supposed to have a 24" and 32" model coming soon. That is the only solution that Nvidia is supporting right now.
The only other passive-polarized S3D set on the market is the iz3D but that is also 22". AFAIK those are currently the only options (unless you want to buy 2 projectors and build a home theater but that is another story).

(correct me someone if i'm wrong) .
with single dlp-projector you need to reverse frames (via hardware or use software -ed-activator- i think,but I havent tried that) .
Its similar to pageflipped stereo on crt but with a big pro : no ghosting :-)

So shutterglasses are only suitable for older hardware expect there are mods somewhere for this.

Dual-LCD-Projectors will cost 2500Dollar I have read. DLP I think will cost a bit more. But what will all this cost used from ebay?

I think the 350 Dollar for the monitor isnt so cheap. Firstly the seller hasnt much buyers till now and sells 6 Monitors at the moment. So I dont know if he really sends the monitor. And on the second hand the shipping cost to germany is 330Dollar :blink: Dont know how that can be. Does it really cost that much to send a monitor this way? With tax and so on?

well the advantage of shutterglasses over the iz3d is that the shutterglasses have much less ghosting. The advantage of an iz3d is the better driver support (the list of games on their site is just the 'tested games list'- many more games work than actually shown on that list. Another advantage is the that eyestrain is eliminated (assuming your stereo settings are reasonable). I have an nvidia 8600gts and the nvidia stereodrivers just refuse to work on it, and the edimensional drivers seem to have some memory leak on my system so they are very slow, but other people with nvidia's up to 7900 and also some with 8800 have had quite good success stories about nvidia's stereodrivers. The memory leak also seems localized to my machine. Hope this didn't confuse you further lol.

well, the weakness of shutterglasses are dark scenes, on the other hand the iz3d monitor seems to be weakest in open areas, especially where bright skies are involved. However it must be said that the actual immersion feeling you get from an iz3d is amazing. Btw the strange thing about the ED drivers is that they seem to work fine for a while and then for no reason you suddenly get huge slowdowns.

Btw the strange thing about the ED drivers is that they seem to work fine for a while and then for no reason you suddenly get huge slowdowns.
At my PC the ED-Drivers are slow from the beginning. I have 2GB Ram what should be enough I think. Other thing is that at my last test the 3d wasnt good. Not really good synced and so on. I dont know how this is happening...

you can use nvidia driver with it (choose planar mirror) or wait some weeks because iz3d driver will support it in the future (and their driver is much better than nvidias one at the moment) .

you can use nvidia driver with it (choose planar mirror) or wait some weeks because iz3d driver will support it in the future (and their driver is much better than nvidias one at the moment) .

I have read in this forum and want to ask what I could best choose for 3D.
I had used 3D some years ago with the Elsa Revelator but something my Driver is broken and the NVidia-Panel only shows the Polarized Glasses-Mode. But I cant use it at another reason. I now have a TFT-Monitor.
So I bought a eDimensional-Card in the hope of some 3D but for some reason it doesnt work so good. Firstly even X2 is stucking in framerate. So it wouldnt make fun. Next its flickering more than the old system and desyncs are there too. I have 7800GTX and dont want to buy a new card only to play X2. Crysis or something wouldnt run at all I think.
So this arent good enough solutions I think...
I have some of these Anaglyph-Viewers but didnt tested it till now.
I have read here in this forum that the newer version is the one where at both sides of the monitor are showed one Image and that it merges to one 3D-Image.
Is this technique resulting in a similar framerate like interleaved-mode(thats the one whats edimensional is using for tfts isnt it?)?
But at the end I want another thing I think.
I would like to have 3D. With a good image and if possible no flickering or framerateloss.
I dont like this 3D-TFTs too much. Firstly because I want to buy a bigger tft in future and the TFTs for 3D are not very big. 22" or so is the biggest. And I dont want to buy such a TFT as a second TFT.
And it seems that NVIDIA stopped developing their 3D for selling more Zalmans? Or is this only rumors. Thats another reason a 3d-TFT would be one of the laster choices for me.
So I think the only possibility would be a beamer isnt it? Are there only DLP-Beamer usable?

The only other passive-polarized S3D set on the market is the iz3D but that is also 22". AFAIK those are currently the only options (unless you want to buy 2 projectors and build a home theater but that is another story).

I think all shutterglasses do run with the (old) nvidia stereo driver ...
(correct me someone if i'm wrong) .
with single dlp-projector you need to reverse frames (via hardware or use software -ed-activator- i think,but I havent tried that) .
Its similar to pageflipped stereo on crt but with a big pro : no ghosting :-)

I think all shutterglasses do run with the (old) nvidia stereo driver ...
(correct me someone if i'm wrong) .
with single dlp-projector you need to reverse frames (via hardware or use software -ed-activator- i think,but I havent tried that) .
Its similar to pageflipped stereo on crt but with a big pro : no ghosting :-)

The Edimensionaldriver are really slow on my pc too. I thought its simply because the framerate is only half of the normal. Even the old game X2 in mainmenuswitch is only some frames per second. Thats really slow for an old game I think...
So I think the iz3d-driver is using directx and glide like nvidia-driver... Because of that nearly all direct-x games should work...

well, the weakness of shutterglasses are dark scenes, on the other hand the iz3d monitor seems to be weakest in open areas, especially where bright skies are involved. However it must be said that the actual immersion feeling you get from an iz3d is amazing. Btw the strange thing about the ED drivers is that they seem to work fine for a while and then for no reason you suddenly get huge slowdowns.

you can use nvidia driver with it (choose planar mirror) or wait some weeks because iz3d driver will support it in the future (and their driver is much better than nvidias one at the moment) .
