Ok, I've searched the forum and googled but I've found little in the way of solid advice/evidence as regards SLI and 3D Stereo, despite the FAQ saying that from 77.77 Stereo is supported in SLI. So the question is, does it work ? And if so, what driver combinations should I use ?
I currently use a 7800GS with the 162.50 drivers (forceware & stereo) and it works a treat, but I'm in the market for a new laptop and am considering one with two 7950GTX in SLI. Will I be able to get stereo working on these in SLI ? I won't be using the LCD for stereo, but rather a VR920 (www.vuzix.com).
I don't want to go for a laptop with an 8xxx card since there is still only sketchy stereo or non-existant support for these (AFAIK...).
So, should I save my cash and go with a single 7950GTX Go (I'm assuming I'll have no issues with stereo with this) or should I go dual with SLI ?
Your advice would be much appreciated. Thanks chaps.

I would very much recommend not buying any 7 series card at this time. If you are going the NVIDIA route, their next driver release is going to be Vista only, and it will support DX 9 and 10 - Zalman monitors only, though (for now).
SLI is not supported yet, but I have been getting very playable rates with my 8800GTS 512. That's a mid-range card by today's standards. I'm using the iZ3D drivers for now, and I'm able to play Bioshock in 1680 X 1050 in stereo mode no problem. The NVIDIA drivers should have similar performance.

Thanks for the mtbs3D.com link Neil. I've signed up over there, and have already found a wealth of other useful information, so I'll hold off more questions for now. /wave.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
