cable needed to get 120hz on HDTV
I connect my computer via HDMI-> DVI single link cable and noticed that I cannot get 120hz, just 60hz. I've read that you cannot get 120hz over a single link cable because of the way in which they transfer info differently. Is there any other cable or way to get 120hz so that I can meet the requirement to use 3d vision on my hdtv?

What sort of TV.
AFAIK there are no TV's available that will take a 120Hz input signal.
You can use 3DVision play if you have a 3D TV that supports HDMI1.4

It's a Samsung 3D HDTV

It doesn't have a DVI input so I can't simply use a DVI-D->DVI-D Dual Link cable.

I see nothing to suggest that that set supports 120Hz input.

You can use the Set with 3DTVPlay or TriDef or the iZ3D drivers in any of the HDMI 1.4 modes.

The TV marketing themselves as 120hz is a bit misleading.

The HDMI standard doesnt allow you to output 120hz over HDMI as a refresh rate. However it does allow you to run in 3D, which operates at 120hz in frame packed mode.

3D Vision works on your 3DTV, many people in this forum are using it with their Samsungs right now. Not sure about the SL-DVI cable, but a DL-DVI > HDMI1.4 will work. Or, you can use a straight HDMI1.4 > HDMI1.4 cable.
People always use Samsung for 3D gaming because it's the only brand that supports 3D at 1920x1080 native rez per frame, 60 frames per second (aka checkerboard mode). When you get your 3D Vision kit I will walk you through the procedure for setting up your rig so you can do 3D gaming at 1920x1080.

I don't think the Samsung LED sets support checkerboard mode, I think it's just the Plasmas.

Nope, Samsung LCDs support checkerboard as well. I have last year's 8000 model and it has checkerboard available.
