I was wonder the other day the same thing. Where is D-Man11?
I can check my paypal donation if someday he made a donation to get some information (name, email, adress)... If is the case i won't share the information here of course (is private), but i can share the city/country to see if there is a user who live in the same city and try to locate.

It's interesting that he was always so secretive, going as far as to not even revealing his real name to people who he talked to privately numerous times a week. Whatever he was worried about or perhaps hiding from,
1. Could have caught up with him,
2. He might have felt that he was too over-exposed for comfort and gone deeper underground.
3. Or, if he was a part of some witness protection program, he could have been moved.
All pure conjecture of course, but I have always wondered why he was so careful not to divulge any details of his privacy.
In theory, one could be traced by their posting IP address, though I doubt nVidia would share that with us, or law enforcement would use it to trace him simply because he wasn't posting to a community any more :(
DHR, that's a great idea mate.
There is a map of 3D vision user locations in this thread:

Unfortunately, he explicitly refused to engage in those threads with his personal info.

I remember a couple of posts he said he forget his nephew's name. A person who is underground or witness protection would only have contact with immediate family members.

Could be a stint in jail or involuntary mental hold... both the type of thing that can go on for a few months. Usually when someone 'disappears' from being online like this.. its something along those lines ..i.e. no access to computer (or anything)

It feels like people disappear without saying goodbye.
Luckily a lot of the active users are still around.
Trying to get back into 3D gaming again.
Things like games crashing when 3D is enabled in the Nvidia properties are a bit of a pain.
I used to be here very frequently but as I've been away a long time just getting back on the forum could be easier. 2016 was a lot about CS:GO and 2017 has been a lot about understanding MQA. Also spent significant time on wheel support in Forza.
I have also struggled economically as I have no job which has been true since 2009.
I have done things I clearly regret and at the time it felt like everybody was angry at me.
When you have bipolar disorder like me it can be difficult to move on as everybody remembers all the stupid things you end up doing when you are the most sick.
I hope to become more active and perhaps even dust off my wrapper codebase and see why it is no longer working.

To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?
Secretive isn't surprising to me. When I first started getting on the internet in the 90's, you were told that you do *NOT* reveal personal information in any way unless needed. The idea of actually making a Facebook page with your real name, your real friends, your real address... insanity!

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. Instead of altering their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views ... which can be very uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.

I often see the advice given to let those people go from your life and be grateful for the ones who choose to stay, but that is easier said than done, especially when those who do not try to understand are the ones you care about - I have friends who have been forced to shut out their own family members who hurt them, who could never understand what they are going through and who didn't even bother to try, but it is never an easy thing to do.
I know you have had your ups and downs Flugan, and some of that has created friction in this community - and that includes with me, but while it is not exactly the same thing I do have some insight into mental illness from my own struggles with depression so I understand that your actions on a bad day are not reflective of you, and I do not hold a grudge against you for past actions.
I hope you're doing okay :)
You're assembler is getting some good use - I gave it a fairly thorough audit a while back and added support for a bunch of missing instructions and edge cases - it should be able to handle almost anything that shader model 4 and 5 can throw at us (except for one thing with hull shaders that I don't have a test case for, and the debug layer and functions that we never see used in practice), and with ShaderRegex we now even have the ability to patch assembly on the fly ;-)

Haha, about shader regex, Helifax can claim that he was the first (not exactly a regex, but a simpler find and replace, IIRC (or was it place something before what you find mandatorily? I can't check now)). It's what his OpenGL wrapper can do to stereoize games, for example.
About mental illnesses, a good friend of mine has spent months at a time in the hospital because of schizofrenia. He's better now, but his life would have been better without what happened to him.
I just have to say, that among so much common hostility you find on the internet in all most every facet, it's really pleasant that a community like this can at least give me some hope for humanity.
Let's pray he has just taken a break from the internet and is actually alright.
When people have a common interest, goal or love - like 3d gaming - they tend to be very decent to each other.
Most internet discussion is either divisive (politics, opinions etc) or self serving (social media etc) - which does not bring people together.
I tend not to associating internet conversation with genuine human contact, it's like this bizarre proxy that is actually anti human in my eyes, yet I do hope that DMan is well.

Where to start....
I went on a short vacation and came back to find out that my ISP contract had expired and my charges went from $30 to $90 for the same service, so I canceled service. I figured that I'd wait for a promo to sign back up. Which I'm in no hurry to do.
I figured that I would knock out some projects around the house and spend some time outdoors/away from home now that temps are back down under 100F.
I tried to log in awhile back at a friends, but a new account was required and I didn't want to create a new one using their PC.
Thanks for the concern...
PS I went through my e-mails today and Manuel did PM me

Hey, nice to have you back. I was seriously thinking the cause could be ~50% death, ~42% ISP problems or moving around the world, and ~8% that you just wanted to get out of here.
