PowerDVD 10 adds Blu-Ray 3d support AND DVD-to-3d conversion officially compatible with GeForce 3d V

Hey, thanks alot for the info!
I was going to reinstall Windows today, but now I'll try disabling my SLI first /teehee.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':teehee:' />
Actually, chizow on the EVGA forums did some testing and relayed the following:

You can use 196.34 GPU driver + 196.21 stereo driver OR 197.13 GPU + 197.13 Stereo driver. Either works, already tried after identifying the problem.

PowerDVD 3D DOES NOT work with SLI enabled. You have to disable SLI or you get one eye always shuttered black and the other open, but also you don't get any of the offsetting images on the screen. More observations on this bug below.

You can't set the depth once the movie started. Easiest way to enable 3D that I found is to do the following BEFORE you start playing the movie. Click the 3D Button at the bottom menu bar, click the button to enable 3D, then choose "120Hz Time Sequential LCD (3D Vision)" from the drop down list.
As a result of the SLI bug I noticed a possible explanation as for why we see ghosting on the periphery of our vision, its because the shutters in the glasses are more transparent on the edges. I think eventually as the glasses improve in technology and are more uniformly shuttered and capable of blocking light, we'll get a better 3D experience as a result.

It takes alot of process to do it, but from what i understand one eye is slightly behind while the other eye is slightly aghead if you catch my drift obviously there is probably other stuff that needs to be done.
Anyway thanks guys for the update about powerdvd 10, I have been waiting for powerdvd 10 3d to come out so i can upgrade, I normally upgrade each time a new version of a programme comes out.
I am going to test it on my acer h5360 projector see what it is like :) even if it doesnt work I still have not lost out as I normally upgrade.
I do hope it works :) atleast it will give my old dvd collection a little bit of a nice makeover :)
Thanks for the answer, I'll try the trial version tonight. :)
Is it possible playing B-ray movies with the Samsung 2233RZ? Everybody knows it doesn't have HDMI, only DVID-D. Will it work if the VGA has HDMI??
Should work, I use an HDMI to DVI cable to watch Bluray movies on it using a PS3 anyway, they're essentially the same signal with a different connector and the monitor is HDCP compatible.

Hi every body i just registered to ask some questions
1-does this mean that we will not need a 3d blu-ray drive in our computer when the 3d blu-ray movies are release.
2-did any body try it (what do you think of the 2d to 3d conversion)
3y- does the Alienware 3d moniter work?

This software kicks serious ass man, really. There is not so much pop-out but there is a good amount of depth with almost no ghosting at all. I just tried and loved it.
Currently there is only DVD support for 3D feature. Very soon they are going to support other formats via a patch as their web site states so.
I was waiting for this to happen since ages.
I don't get the option for 120hz lcd monitor, I only get 3d ready hdtv, some interlaced crap, or "no 3d display".
I have SLI disabled and the latest 1.23 driver cd installed. Any ideas? This is on the trial version.
Oh, what the hell is this? It REQUIRES windows 7? Seven and vista are the same damned thing!

I've installed the trial, but I've run into a problem when running a DVD in 3D. Under "Choose 3D Display" I pick 120Hz Time-sequential 3D LCD (Nvidia 3D Vision). I'll see the video in 3D for a split second, then the screen is filled with static.
This problem came up for Blu Rays, when I had the monitor set to a refresh rate of 120 Hertz. I set it to 110, and the problem went away.

do I have to set some preferences. all my dvds come out like someone took the 2d screen and twisted it into the screen a few degrees. everythign on the left of the screen is in the screen and everythign on the right is out the screen.

Anyways, how well is the conversion to 3D?
Any top screen ghosting on full 1080p movies?
What movies have you tried with it? And does the software really separate the objects coming at you from the background?

Any ideas how I can fix this? Thanks!
