I applied the CM compatibility fix and the game now crashes constantly with 3d on or even completely off.
Broke game is broke.
I also notice randomly the game tries to turn stereo on all by itself WTF!

How to use CM Mode with the game
=================================
1. Enable CM mode as per this guide :
or
2. Once you start the game DISABLE 3D Vision (CTRL+T)
3. Load your game.
4. Once the game is loaded switch to Window Mode (ALT+ENTER) and to fullscreen back (ALT+ENTER)
5. Enable 3D Vision (CTRL+T)
The game will work now in CM mode. However, it crashes in several places as follows:
- When you load a game in a DIFFERENT Area/Map
- When you quick travel TO A different Map
(Game is just fine if you load or quick travel in the same map)
- There is a possibility for the game to crash when a cutscene starts/ends.
Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to prevent crashes:
- Disabling 3D Vision doesn't help.
- Switching to Window mode doesn't help and so on...
At least you can use CM mode for exploring or while playing on the same map.
Hope this helps if ypu are dying to play it in 3D.

Hi - the problem isn't with fixing it - I've already fixed the shadows and a couple of other things - it's that it is basically broken at a driver/profile level when running in 3D, and especially SLI+3D. Nvidia/Developer need to do something about this.

Ive been using this method to play and it has been playable but I was getting crashes everytime I load to a different area (These crashes occur regardless of if I am playing play in CM mode or just 2D) It go so bad that my game would crash every time I load to another area out of Haven.
Ive found a workaround that enables me to travel without any crashes
Before you travel to a different zone using the world map or the war table:
1. Ctrl + T to turn of 3D
2. Hit escape go to "Options" then "Display"
3. Change from "Fullscreen" to "Fullscreen Windowed"
4. Exit options applying your changes.
5. use the world map or war table to travel.
6. Go back to display options and change to "Fullscreen"
6. Then use the alt tab trick from Helifax to enter CM mode again.
Hope this helps others as the game would crash every time I traveled until I discovered this little trick. Ive only been using for the last hour tonight but I haven't had any travel crashes since. I have dual 980 GTX but still have to run without sli enabled in this game.
I also turned of Aero in Windows 7 and am playing thru origins in offline mode with cloud saves and origin in game off (not sure if those have any effect but I am leary to mess with it now that I am able to travel).

Well, modifying the in-house developed Frostbite engine for DA:I is more profitable than licensing the Unreal engine, since they can also use it as a base for ME4 and DA4. It's about control and profit, which is usually bad news for quality and creative freedom.
