low convergence in 3d movies - i want things to go out of my screen !
win 8.1 64bit, gtx 980, benq xl 2402z - 3d photos work great, 3d stereoscopic test ( nvidia logo poping out to my face ) works epic, batman: arkham origins ( 3dvision ready game ) works good, but 3d bluray movies suck ( thats the reason i bought 3d kit ), the 3d ilusion is close to 0, what am I doing wrong ? the disc menu with play, scenes, audio and stuff buttons works good in 3d too ( it pops out of my screen ), but video stays inside, i tried to toy with convergence level by smashing ctr+ f5/f6 or moving the wheel with nvidia button on my emitter, no difference, i use total media theatre 6 soft ( free trial )

3D movies don't have the same 3D effect (convergence/depth), so please don't bother. This is perhaps one of the primary reasons 3D in general is in the state that it is: people see a 3D movie and think it is the best implementation of 3D available, then they go: "Why should I care?" There might also be some issues in general with playing 3D movies (BluRay) on nVidia hardware. But in general, don't expect the same wow effect as in games (especially not convergence)

Although convergence is always coded far too low, if the separation (which is adjustable) is increased to the limits the eyes can take, the movie becomes pretty enjoyable. This is because the screen is now at an infinite distance and amplifies the 3D effect. Kinda like the difference between watching a movie on a small tv vs a massive cinema screen... there will be no pop-out but as many a folk here have said, best 3D is when it's within the screen. It's not the best solution, but it's better than the default hard coded separation and convergence I would say.

And I found that for the best experience, I had to tweak both the settings inside the DVD playing software AND the settings on the TV itself - for what it's worth.
