stereographic 3D mode "always" not working
I have a Dell XPS notebook with a built in 3D emitter.

I am trying to use the new always on mode in the NVIDIA control panel and yet it is only active when it senses a 3D program. I have posted this problem to the GeForce M series forum and although it has had quite a few people view, there doesn't seem to be anybody that has a suggestion...

Please check out my other post and let me know if you can help.

[quote]I have a Dell XPS with built in emitter and 3d screen.

The 3d works great and turns on automatically when it detects 3d content. I'm not exactly sure what triggers this but I have a program that is not triggering the emitter to turn on. So, I want to be able to use the new feature in NVIDIA control panel with driver 270.61 that reads "Select when the display is in 3D mode:" and the three choices in the drop down are 1) "Always" 2) "Only while 3D programs run" 3) "Only while full-screen 3D programs run" The "always" selection seems to have no effect, it seems to only turn on when it has somehow detected a 3d program... Is this a bug? Is there a work-around? How do I get it to be "always" on?

I also have another computer, an older HP that has a GT 9800 (I think but it's hard to remember) card which is hooked up to my Samsung DLP. This setup has been working fine for years as the 3d is turned on by the remote and not by the video card. So, to answer your obvious question, yes the program works if I can get the monitor to go into 3d mode and get the emitter to turn on.

If anybody knows of a tweak, hack or utility that will turn on the emitter and put my Dell XPS into 3d mode manually, I'd really appreciate it. Oh, I guess I should mention I am using Windows 7 64 bit and I've had this new notebook for 3 days now, I'm still getting used to Windows 7.

Thank you in advance,

I hope that I am not using bad etiquette by "dual posting" my problem but I am not sure where to turn for my situation...
