• Stereoscopic 3D page in Nvidia Control Panel has everything greyed out with "Stereoscopic Display Type: HDMI 1.4 Blu-Ray 3D" showing, and the setup application does not mention 3DTV Play until the end when it suggests that I upgrade to it.

As above, my TV is detected as "SONY TV" (Generic PnP Monitor) by my computer, and there don't appear to be any drivers to tell it otherwise.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I know I can't be too far off, as the TV and Graphic card are both supported, but after reinstalling the 3D Vision controller, and the graphic drivers multiple times, plugging things in and out in different orders, relaunching the control panel and restoring defaults, there has been nothing I've been able to do to get anything other than a working stereoscopic test. 3D Videos play in 2D, and Games running at 1280x720 are recognised as a 3D input mode, the TV tells me that and automatically switches, but the driver is still drawing the content in 2D only.
[/quote]

Sounds like your on the right track. I was asked by Nvidia support to set the TV to 1280x720 and launch the 3d setup application which it does but doesn't work cause I dont have the Sony glasses yet. In the setup guide I read for it, it says to set it up that way and then you can set it up for 3d HD i.e 1920x1080 3d..

Have you guys got onto Nvidia support about this? Perhaps they could make a fix or a specific setup guide if they know multiple people are having this problem with the same TV..

Exactly same here.

GTX 295 with Sony KDL-46HX800 listed at http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-requirements.html and only working with 3d setup wizard and nvidia logo demo. Avatar work great but using ingame 3d menu, others games dont work with 3d. Any help?

Read that to but it does have US/JAPAN underneath it so the AU model isn't compatable as far as Nvidia looks at it. It hasn't been tested yet. I am thinking that is why it's so hard to setup. Not sure if the Nvidia driver doesn't recognize it cause it hasn't been added to the compatability list.

Just want to confirm that this works and it looks amazing :D... The 3d affect looks better on the tv than my Alienware monitor. Games look stunning as do the short 3d films I've watched.

Just note, make sure you activate the 3d option in the TV before you install the driver as it will be redetected as a Generic monitor again if you install the driver before activating 3d on the tv.

Just as an FYI, we will have an 3DTV Play support update later this week to add support for the Sony KDL-40HX805. Is that your exact model?
