Uninstalled 3D Vision for Witcher 2 / Reinstalled WILL NOT WORK
Like others here, I had to uninstall the 3D vision component to get The Witcher 2 to work (was getting 5 FPS and only 10% GPU utilization)

After uninstalling, TW2 ran great for the past few days. Today I saw that they posted a patch for the game that 'fixed' the 3D Vision issues, so I first attempted to simply re-install the 3D Vision portion of the drivers without doing a full uninstall / reinstall. When I loaded TW2 it said "Attempt to run in non valid mode" (even though the LCD was in 120hz mode) and I could't get it working, so I finally just completely removed all NVidia drivers through the uninstall function, then restarted and totally installed fresh (even selected 'clean install')

Now, when I first try to get S3D enabled in the NVidia Control Panel, it first makes you run through the "Stereo Setup Wizard" and asks you to look through each eye and pick the shape. However on this screen I'm getting the same red "Invalid Mode" warning (even though, again, it's on 120hz) and the glasses do not shutter correctly (random flickering on both)

I wasn't upset when I found out there was a major bug between The Witcher 2 and 3D Vision and that it needed to be uninstalled for the game to run correctly, because I understand mistakes happen and as soon as it was patched I could just reinstall it and be fine.

Now however I am upset because Stereo3D won't even enable, and when I go into games not only does it say INVALID MODE (even when the LCD is running at 120hz in-game), but they flicker in such a way that the objects depth are very misaligned. Not just reversed, but totally garbled.

I'd really like to be able to use the 3D system that I paid so much money for, even if not for TW2, for any game. It's effectively broken now.

P.S. - Throughout the whole post I'm talking about the new 275 beta drivers that were released specifically for this game

The patch didn't fix the 3D Vision performance issues so you might as well wait for the next driver to be released.

Uninstall the drivers again. Unplug the USB cable from your emitter. Reinstall the drivers and do not plug the emitter in until you get to the 3D vision setup screen that shows the emitter cable being plugged in. I've run into this problem before and that has worked for me. Good luck!

The updated drivers are ONE of the things included in the beta drivers, definitely not the only thing and not even the only 3D Vision thing.

I would do as Fella1 said - only this time put the emitter in a different USB port.

P.S. If you go read the Witcher sticky thread, you'll see that somebody has found a work-around for playing tW2 in 3D with a good refresh rate.

Wilkin - If you had read my post, you'd know that yes, I did.

Fella1 - I will try that tonight, thank you for the suggestion!

I would like to add the following update:

I installed the 275.33 WHQL drivers and the same problem is happening (basically my 3D Vision is now broken for any application. They all say invalid mode)

However - I found a(n extremely inconvenient) workaround - disabling the second monitor will allow 3D Vision to temporarily work as it's supposed to.

PLEASE get this information to the driver team ASAP

Update: I happened to notice while disabling the secondary 60hz screen (so that I could play a title in 3D Vision) that after disabling it, the main 120hz screen was actually BRIGHTER.

Upon further investigation I realized that it's because the ASUS Monitor thinks it's in 3D-MODE now when it's the only monitor active, therefore making it brighter.

Please let the driver team know this, and keep in mind the previous WHQL driver (actually anyt driver before 275.27 beta) did not have this issue whatsoever.
