Thanks, just saw it. Here's hoping they come up with something.
I was wondering if Chiri's unlocker would work? Not sure if it works on these self rendering games?
Cockpit view might come after all :)

I just tried it, it actually works! Looks like crap though, blurry etc, but what it does for me is run the game with the correct convergence, which is what I was looking for. So I think I will use it for that even if it looks a bit crummy right now. I am sure the modders can tart it up a bit. To be sure, it definitely adds to the immersion - I am not used to cockpit view and am finding it quite a challenge, which is not a bad thing :-) Nice find Crusnik8!

mike, with the cockpit tweak all views now work with custom convergence?
Yesterday i try to do some tweak, but nothing works with those 2 views.
Also read some readme file in a folder, and the 3D render works for AMD and NVIDIA. For AMD it's suppose to show a 3D stereo menu in Graphics options and for Nvidia use the 3Dvision/3DTV Play render, also says that depth and convergence shortcut works with this game....maybe is a bug or something in the Nvidia profile.

Hi, the cockpit view uses the correct convergence, but the hud and bumper views still use the wrong convergence. And it's not just them - the cockpit fix adds several new views (helicopter views, side views etc) and all the views that are hud or bumper related (front, back and side being at the same height as hud or bumper) have this issue. So it seems like a clear bug to me. I think I'll post it as a bug report on the codemasters Forum.

everything was fine with tuned depth/conv as mentioned earlier + postprocessing on low but after I launch it today it download some kind of update (can't really find what it was) and now I have texture flickering all over the place ;/ is it just me?
edit: some kind of update was applied for sure as I now have benchmark option within graphic settings menu that I'm sure I haven't had before, unfortunately it looks like it broke the game for me ;/

My system updated too and is running fine. The benchmark was there before though, I can verify that. I noted that it reset all my settings, so it might have turned on postpreocessing again, you should check that.

Devs have struck again!
Bonnet view and first person view are 2D! GRID 2 is only 3D half the time!
Like other people here I also prefer to play in views other than 3rd person, but when I played it in FPS or bonnet view it felt funny, like Sleeping Dogs. I took a screeny of the 4 views and superimposed each. Sure enough the two 3rd Person views are fine but the FPS views are 100% 2D when superimposed! Try it. (Make sure you completely align the road as optical illusions make it look like there is vergence until they are completely aligned.)
Gutting! I wonder if the cockpit view is really 3D...
edit
How did you get the dashboard cam to work. I downloaded the files but I still get the four views...

No wonder editing the convergence didn't seem to change anything in those views. What are the chances of something like this getting fixed? I use a racing wheel to play, so anything but the first person views are too difficult for me.

Have you tried cockpit view? That is what you need. I cannot seem to get it working though. The xml files contain lots of null values - is that normal?
How do you get it to work with 3dtv play. I have set it to 1280X720 in game but it tells me that it is running at the wrong resolution
Before start the game change the desktop resolution to 1280x720, the game override with desktop values.
Yesterday a do a lot of test with those views, i edit the camera.xml files from one car and try to change somes parameters, copy the parameters of the third views to bumper view.....but nothing...so is not related to the camera files (BTW we can change FOV). Also search in general xml files and don't found nothing. Also noticed that in those views, the road is actually working right, but objects in scene don't.....so we don't get the 3D sense feeling. Hope devs do something with this...i miss my bumper camera view :(

Mate,
I couldn't get the additional views to work. When I open the xml files in notepad+ I get loads of 'nulls'. Am I doing something wrong?
Seeing that the bonnet and fps view are 100% pushed back 2D, it would be cool if you could position the 3rd person camera over the bonnet. Is that what you were trying to do?
Also if I change the settings e.g. v-sync on (which seems to behave like v-sync off!) my convergence goes bonkers - so high it breaks completely. I wonder if the setting we are entering in the config files are not activated unless we change the settings. I can't remember the default 3D settings but they were quite a lot lower than the ones suggested above. Can anyone remember them?
Also I would be really grateful if someone could tell me exactly how to use the cockpit view mod.
Thanks!

Those files are BinXML, so first you have to convert (BinXML to XML) with this tool:
Ryder BXML Convertor
http://petar.outer-heaven.net/downloads/
It's drag & drop, when you finish editing...drag&drop the XML file and write "1" option to convert them back to BinXML.

Yes, but don't work....i know this files... i edit some with Grid 1...Also try other stuff, but nothing seems to work with those views (talking about convergence) so i think is related to something global in game or render...also i think maybe is some effect (a shader maybe) in those views that make objects flat (i want to change in-game option to LOW....all options in order to test mi effect theory removing that supposed shader).
If you want the cockpit view you can use a cameras.xml file from GRID 1 (in GRID 1 you have all the parameters for that view)...
i don't have issues with vsync....so i can't help with that :(
Original values are:
stereo=false
separation=0.015 or 0.012 (don't remember exactly)
convergence=0.5

I downloaded the mod with all the cars from grid 1. But I didn't get any additional views. I have also downloaded the two cars which that dude has worked on - again to no avail.
I am probably being a moron. What do I need to do? Is there a special camera key in game? I have remapped the camera button from RB to B on my controller if that might be an issue.
Thanks!
