Quick question Will 3d work in non native res on a 1080p LCD?
Hi, I'm sure lots of people here like me are thinking of buying a 120Hz 1080p LCD this year, but are worried whether their GPU can handle the resolution. What I wanted to ask is whether these screens will still do 120Hz if you drop the res down to a lower 16:9 resolution like 1366*768 or 1280*720?

I think if you set 'aspect scaling' in the nvidia control panel (so the card is scaling a lower res up to 1920*1080 to fill the screen, rather than the screen doing the scaling), then the screen is still working in 1920*1080 mode, but will 120Hz be available? I've read these 120Hz screens only do 120Hz at native res.

I may swap my GTX260 for a fermi card (the cheaper GTX360 version) but I'm still not sure it'll cope with that res rendered twice. Currently on my CRT I can use a nice low res like 1280*960 and have no framerate issues.

I can run 3d at non-native resolutions on my Sammy 2233RZ (non-native res looks crappier in general), though I can't guarantee that would be the case with every rig conceivable.
