Big thanks for your work on this, masterotaku. I'm not surprised to see that the DX10 flag is 0x4008 again. I had a feeling based on some cshaders' resource names that it would be needed.

Forgive my noobness, I just purchased an NVidia 3D Vision last weekend. What do we do with the files in the WIP archive you posted a download link to? Do we just place them in the RE2 installation directory?
Thanks for working on this by the way, I've been lurking this thread the whole time hoping someone would come up with a 3D fix!

Drop them in the install folder that has re2.exe, modify the nearby re2_config.ini as directed, and then launch the game. ShaderFixes and d3dx.ini are examples what you should see directly in the install folder.
Go to the main menu and change its graphics options as directed. One way to know the fix is working is to slowly, repeatedly press F2 to see if the HUD depth changes. Then set it back to how you like it.

Hmm. It seems the 3D mod is partially working? The game doesn't seem to launch in 3D mode, my IR emitter never turns green. I have all the files in the correct place, and have verified all settings (in game and ini file) are correct. When I say it's partially working hitting F4 disables sharpening and F5 disables vignette. I can't confirm F2 since I'm at the very beginning of the game where you don't have a HUD yet.
Am I missing something regarding getting the IR emitter to activate?

I don't use an emitter setup, but you mentioned that you just bought it. I'd recommend going to the Nvidia Control Panel after right-clicking the desktop. Then going to the Stereo section and seeing if it's enabled and not greyed out. If it is enabled, then playing a game might require hitting the enable hotkey (CTRL+T by default). If it isn't enabled, then you need something like the newest drivers, the right gfx card, a compatible monitor/TV, etc. Someone with emitter experience should be able to help you. Hope this helps get you started at least.

Thanks again for being so helpful. I'll keep fiddling here to see if I can get it to work.

Sorry, I wasn't expecting someone new to try a work in progress fix :p. I had to go to bed and didn't bother saying the usual stuff like unzipping the files in the game folder.
You may experience bugs, maybe crashes. And of course some unfixed effects. I'm only at the police station near the beginning. I'll move on when I fix rain completely.

Thanks alot masterotaku! The game looks stunning in real 3D Vision.
Unfortunately the game constantly crashes when I play using the fix. In most cases it happens when I try to open a door. When it happens the displayed picture instantly freezes (sound keeps going) and I have to manually reset the whole system (even task manager doesn't work at this point).
When playing in 2D everything is running fine with no crashes.
Anyone else here who can confirm these issues?

That's always been caused by the [TextureOverride] sections in d3dx.ini and fuzzy matching more than needed. RE7 has the same problem still, which is a reason why it's still WIP too. The initial versions of those sections are necessary to get things in stereo. Those sections will be improved over time to resolve the freezes and crashes.

Thanks alot Schwing for the quick answer!
If the [TextureOverride]-sections of the fix are responsible for the crashes shouldn't everyone here experience exactly the same? If yes no one should be able to play the game in 3DV by now as these crashes occur by the minute (at least for me).
It seems some guys here (including masterotaku himself) are able to play the game using the WIP-fix. So I guess there must be something I could do to get rid of the crashes!?

I've found them to be occasionally random, but haven't gone far in the game yet. WIP 3 is on Discord, so I'm gonna have to get back to you when I am finished testing it.

I would suggest using the WIP for barely more than checking how it looks. Fixing stability is one of the hard parts. And I already found problems in the WIP 3. I'm still at the police station.
RE7 has only one problematic override for a specific hash. Not using it = really bad performance at some spots. Using it = good performance but random crashes.
