Im not sure what the defalt screen size is for most projectorsm but i think they are MUCH larger than people will actually use... and the result, is poor depth.
I can change the registry to fix this - but I shouldnt have to.
I have 2 projector set-ups on two computers. one is 130" and the other is about 60"
the 120" has pretty good depth, but still no where near as good as the monitor I had. (whihc i had to have on about 70% rather than 100% and wanting more)
the 60" setup i have is essentially broken. the 3D effect is very subtle on the default screen size and the only way to get a semi decent 3D effect is to boost the convergence right up - which makes cut scenes and things painful.
I appreciate that Nvidia probably took the ability to resize monitors off for H&S reasons - but for a projector this is ESSENTAIL, becasue quite simply you have no idea or right to guess what size screen they are projecting.
By over estimating as you do - you pretty much break some 3D set ups...

im not asking for much. just a 5 minute coding job to add a field that I can input the size of my screen into, which will then alter the default monitorsize for the projector.
if your worried about it being abused, make it so that the option is only available for projectors. give it a limit (i would suggest 20" - 200")
stick a disclaimer there if you must.
but PLEASE add this, becasue right now I am finding myself using 3D less and less because of the hastle that is involved in getting a decent effect.
I have 2 3D certified projectors and 4 pairs of glasses. with that kind of investment, I should expect thinks to work flexibly enough for its intended purpose.

The problem is, the registry file resets itself when 3D vision is activated.
This means that whatever file you open has to be opened AFTER the game has started.
The wya arround this (which I have seen done before) is to make a file that 'spams' the registry change for a few minutes - this way it will almost certonally kick in after it is reset by the game.
This is sloppy and far from ideal.
All that is required is for the default figure to be changeable and then we have a permanent fix.
Consider also, you have a 3D vision set up that is MOBILE. you are taking your projector arroudn with you. for this set up, you need to be able to alter the screen size depending on your current setup.
This effectively means that any attempt to 'show off' 3D vision is hindered by the fact the drivers omit one simple flexible option...

I really hope nVidia makes this change. I'm buying a projector next month, and can't wait to use 3D Vision on the big screen!
Unfortunately, I've noticed that people have been asking for this feature for years now... For some reason, Nvidia doesn't seem to want this feature in their drivers.

DLP projection is almost definately the best way to experience 3D vision. This is practically their flagship technology that offers the most impressive experience 3D vision can offer.
Suprisingly there is almost no actually support for projectors in the setup.
screen size and distance sat from screen are key factors to determining how much seperation there should be.
Unless we all have the 'perfect' projector set up were gonna have vastly different screen size and seating arrangements than the default set by Nvidia... this can very drastically affect the whole experience... As I said, try using a projector for a small ghost free replacement for a monitor and its almost useless.
Shame - it seems such a small ammount of work for such a large benefit.

You can try a delay in the autoexec.bat ..something like this..and it should work !
PING 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 5000 >NUL (this is the delay) you can also use the program sleep see below

A slider adjustment in the control panel like THERE USED TO BE would be nice also. On the other hand you could just make the registry value stick.
I can change the registry to fix this - but I shouldnt have to.

Of course, as you said, these things aren't very hard. We could just toss together a little app to change them.
