Battlefield 2 Topic (91.28)
I would like to say some things about Battlefield 2 in combination with the new stereo drivers from nVidia:

-shadows are not correctly rendered in 3d, goes to one eye;
-the laser sight flickers against the sky;
-nametags not rendered in depth;

Do you think the game is playable at this moment?

BF2 is one of my favorite games in stereo!

I don't use the lasersight anymore because it destroyed my FPS in Secret Forces.

Which shadows are you talking about?

Can you upload some .JPS files? (CTRL-F1 will capture).

The only real bug I see is there is a black ribbon along the top of mountains and terrain. It looks like a shadow - but it isn't supposed to be there.

What is your AA setting? Try putting it on 2 or 2Q and see if that makes a difference. The older driver versions needed this to have correct terrain.

Describe your hardware.

Chopper

Hi. I have the very same problem in BF2 in stereo mode.
I uploaded some .jps images into web.

I just tried changing Anti-Aliasing settings to 2 and 2Q. didn't help.
My graphic card is 6800 ultra 256mb. I had the same problem with older drivers.

Any help to my problem would be nice.

I have the exact same problem. I don't think there is a cure.

The game is very playable, though.

Have you tried Special Forces?

How has the performance been for you?

Chopper

Performance in stereo mode is great! I can barely see lower frame rates, well.. maybe it goes to 20-30 if artillery hits near me. But usually in normal mode and stereo mode average fps is 40-60 and its okay for me.

I don't mean BF2 vanilla. I mean BF2 Specialforces. The Gator and Warlard maps in particular.

SF is a bit more system resource demanding than normal BF2, because it has more objects in the maps.. or something.. I have to use low/medium settings in SF but BF2 runs fine with medium/high settings.

Performance drop when using stereo mode is pretty much the same in both games.

How do you get Laser sight into Battlefield 2?

Its impossible to aim without it. Especially when looking down the barrel of the gun.

Only problems with battlefield as far as I see is that all overlays and the gun are double. But that sort of bodges up aiming.
