GunFire Games as the developer, in collaboration with IP owner and publisher THQ Nordic have announced the latest Darksiders franchise entry.
Darksiders III releasing sometime in 2018
http://store.steampowered.com/app/606280/Darksiders_III/
ABOUT THIS GAME
Return to an apocalyptic Earth in Darksiders III, a hack-n-slash Action Adventure where players assume the role of FURY in her quest to hunt down and dispose of the Seven Deadly Sins. The most unpredictable and enigmatic of the Four Horsemen, FURY must succeed where many have failed – to bring balance to the forces that now ravage Earth. Darksiders III is the long-anticipated, third chapter in the critically-acclaimed Darksiders franchise.
Play as FURY - a mage who must rely on her whip and magic to restore the balance between good and evil on Earth!
Harness FURY’s magic to unleash her various forms – each granting her access to new weapons, moves and traversal abilities.
Explore an open-ended, living, free-form game world in which FURY moves back and forth between environments to uncover secrets while advancing the story.
Defeat the Seven Deadly Sins and their servants who range from mystical creatures to degenerated beings.
Sit in awe of Darksiders signature art style – expansive post-apocalyptic environments that take the player from the heights of heaven to the depths of hell, dilapidated by war and decay and overrun by nature.

Vigil Games was the original developer that was bought up by THQ and then later disbanded when THQ filed for bankruptcy.
The majority of Vigil employess went to Gunfire Studios AFAIK, hence, it's great that they are in charge of the new game.
Nordic Games, bought the Darksiders IP in the THQ bankruptcy sale and added the THQ name to theirs.

Played about an hour with the UE4 universal fix engaged. There are a few issues... water/reflection/effects, but they all look to be minor and fixable.
I'm really not far enough in to comment too much on the gameplay and the reviews have been all over the map. But, so far, it plays, looks and feels like the first two games and I am enjoying it.

Some reviewers say that enemies are too tough similar to Dark Souls. So that's not good for me. I don't like Dark Souls style gameplay, I'm more of an adventurer who likes to experience games for it's world and unique experiences and avoids too much frustration, but I'll buy it anyway. If it's really like Dark Souls then I'll probably cheat in single player for invincibility. :)

I am playing on "Normal" and haven't had any issues. The game plays like prior Darksiders game, so far.
There is also a "Story" difficulty that reduces combat difficulty.
That being said, I swear a number of the "professional" reviewers were toddlers when the first game came out. If you read between the lines on some of them, you can tell that they didn't play the first two and are trying to skate by and collect a check.
And, at this particular point in gaming history, it seems like any time an enemy/NPC/boss character requires a bit more than hack-and-slash, the game is immediately identified as "Souls-like" or "Souls-lite."
LOL

Anyone tried it in 3D Vision yet?
I am waiting my 2080Ti (Just one for the time being ^_^) and it will be some time until I can try it out;)

I don't know seems actually like a pretty significant step back from the previous entry in the series. Alot of the cool features from that game are gone, and they obviously have a much lower budget now.
Will probably pick this one up when it goes on sale.

Hi Helifax,
I have been playing it in S3D with the UE4 universal fix. There are minor lighting/reflection/water issues, but overall it's working pretty well.

Hmm I am not sure if the UE4 fix does anything here... As most of the things are broken! I tried to run it with the Ue4 fix and I got 95% same results...
(Particles, decals, reflections, lights, etc all wrong). Did you change anything in the fix?
EDIT:
NVM...ignore me please:)

LOL... I was going to reply that you probably have more of an expert's eye... I tend to evaluate things more along the lines of "if it doesn't make my eyes/head hurt and it runs reasonably well, then I'm playing it in 3D!" :)
Hope the NVM means you got it configured to look/run decently.
Also, found that these setting in the NVIDIA Control Panel are really helping performance...
Anisotropic filtration - set to default
Shader cache - On
Thread optimisation - On
MMFA - Off
FXAA - On
Power supply mode - controlled by Nvidia
Texture filtering:
- anisotropic optimisation - Off
- quality - High performance
- negative LOD bias - On
- trilinear optimisation - On

I got it working:)) I just copying the wrong stuff in the wrong place;))
I agree it looks ok-ish, still requires a bit of work to get it in 3D Vision Shape;)
