Stereo 3D with-out the performance hit.. possible, I think so!
My understanding is that SLI works by splitting up the display into lines and sharing the load across each GPU a bit like raid striping , where as if stereo 3d was to use two GPU's it would make sense to have a GPU for each, left and right display, then again if quad SLI becomes popular some sort of video stripping would have to be used, sounds tricky.
As far as I could tell it would just require reprogramming of stereo drivers, I've heard other people say that NVIDIA are working or planning on this to happen. Does anyone have anymore information on this or know if this is going to happen and maybe when?
