So I am thinking on purchasing a Samsung SyncMaster 2233RZ and the Nvidia 3D glasses kit so that I can play games in 3D. Now I want to run a HDMI to DVI connector from the PS3 to the monitor so I can utilize its 3D gaming support as well. In saying that, my main question is that will the Nvidia 3D glasses work with GT5 in 3D mode?

Wont work Celebrus... Avatar was the older 3D approach, before HDMI 1.4 standard. Besides, that guy managed to get this working on Mitsubishi DLP. With 2233RZ it PS3 games will never work.

Damn, is there any chance that Sony will support Nvidia glasses in the future (I mean they allow me to use my logitech webcam as a gaming mic for crying out loud!) or is the only way to shell out for sony glasses and a sony tv  ?

I just read the post, what the guy has done is something that has occurred to me. Its a very basic idea, Shutter glasses are pretty basic, left eye blank right eye open etc etc.
Too get the nividia glasses to go into shutter mode, a pc that has the emitter connected must be doing something that is 3D compatible. With the glasses working on the pc he then looked at the other screen (in this case DLP) displaying a 3D image and it worked.
This is completely different from connecting a PS3 to the samsung 22", he could have achieved this with any shutter glasses operating in there left eye then right eye mode (it actually doesn't have anything to do with the nividia glasses)
Theirs no way sony will support nividia glasses when they have their own, which makes sense.
As for Logitech its better for sony to support their products then too make them themselves because people like me who own the G25 steering wheel will buy a PS3 over an XBox because the G25 works with the PS3 and not the XBox.
As for the PS3 does anybody know if it works with any 3D tv or only with sony's?

You can use any of the new 3D TVs to play PS3 3D games. Samsung, Sony, LG...all work.
You can also use older Mitsubishi DLP TVs to play PS3 3D if you buy this adapter -
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003S3RKZ4/ref=as...ag=cnet-2639-20
Finally, in the future you will be able to play PS3 3D games with many 720p 3d projectors, once optoma releases this adapter in January 2011.

For xbox 360, there are only a handful games available (Avatar, Invincible Tiger, Infinity on XBL...and upcoming Crysis 2 and Call of Duty black ups). These games work on all of those displays + more...they actually can work on samsung 22 inch 3D monitor if you use an HDMI video capture card to your PC and have 3D vision.
I do again state that there is no point of playing 3D on consoles thus far. Reasons:
-Retail games tend to run in 1280x360 resolution per eye...looks like crap
-There is no depth or convergence adjustment options
-no good games (GT5 and Killzone 3 are only decent games which you would want to play but can't on PC)
