Didn't try CM yet.
Game has huge performance issues with a lot of framerate drops.
Newest driver is absolutely recommended, without game does not run at all.
I hope they will fix those performance issues in the coming days.
To the subtance: it's fun and I like the setting a lot.
Totally worth the 27 EUR. :D
Looks similar to the problems we saw with Mad Max, the shadows in particular look a lot the same.
Dumping shaders works, getting about 1900 shaders. Can't get the game to fully launch with 3Dmigoto installed. Crashes at load screen. Same use of giant Global arrays in the shaders. I'm looking into the crash, but the game itself is pretty unstable for everyone.
Crashes in nvidia driver, doesn't look like it's directly related to us. 1.0.1 version also crashes in same spot.
Game uses Denuvo. Performance sucks because of that. The usual Denuvo induced game stalls. Game launch takes a full minute every time.
Don't be in a rush to pick this one up. They blew it.

I agree this game needs a lot of work. It has potential but in surround there are glitches galore. 3d does not work and SLI is apparently a lost cause. JC2 was the poster child for 3d surround and SLI so not sure what the devs were doing here. It runs great for me in regular surround though maxed out at 50fps. The load times are ridiculous though especially the intro at launch where the devs make you stare at Rico on the beach for a minute without any way to exit out. It is quite fun so far though but it does need a fair bit of polishing.

Couple notes.
It doesn't support SLI:

It's not made by the same studio that did JC2 and Mad Max. Despite being just being called Avalanche Studios, JC3 is made by Avalanche Studios New York, whereas JC2 and Mad Max were handled by Avalanche Studios Stockholm.

So.. AS New York < AS Stockholm ;)
Funny how 2 games are released the same year. One has perfect Surround and SLI capabilities other has no SLI and buggy Surround...
Now I am glad that Mad Max was made by AS Stockholm;)
So guess I'll pass on this game;) Not a fan of the series anyway;) but JS2 was fun:)

Sound like this game is in some kind of "early access" stage.... very bad!...i will wait for devs to patch this game before buying.
More and more devs use customers to test their game, they should pay us instead of charge for an unfinished game.
And yeah...glad that Mad Max was made by AS Stockholm!! Mad Max have excellent performance on release and is suppose to be the same engine.
Here's some info from Avalanche on the differences between the Mad Max and JC3 engines. It's significant, I don't know if it'll be helpful information for anyone looking to fix it.

Ok I am going to translate this to the normal user: C.R.A.P!!!! (with a font of 120+)
What they are saying there DOESN'T JUSTIFY WHY SLI DOESN'T WORK!!! NOT EVEN 0.000001% ! Cool! So they just changed the lighting system to "cluster" mode which is the equivalent of "Tile-based" USED IN FROSTBYTE ENGINES FOR YEARS!!!! and guess what.. all frostbyte 3 based games have PERFECT SLI SUPPORT and scaling!
So, what they are saying there is just "BULLSHIET"!
Their so-called invented technique is also CRAP... it was done before and discarded for various reasons (I need to find that article again as proof)...
Don't get me wrong, I GIVE EXACTLY NADA about this game! I couldn't care less about it! BUUUUUT....to come with that crappy justification?!?!?! Basically they are saying FUCK YOU PC GAMERS WHO OWN SLI...cause we "invented our crappy method" and "oh' our old engine didn't support transparency the way we wanted!!!"
So in the end we got this crap (WITH TRANSPARENCY SUPPORT...YEY) that RUNS LIKE CRAP and NO SLI support! Nice
trade-off;) (This reminds me why I DIDN'T want to go in the gaming industry...damn liars ^_^).
The truth is: They WANT MONEY...THEY HAD A BUDGET! And decided is better spent on something else than SLI or making the game RUN PROPERLY ;) After all SCREENSHOTS don't tell if you have freezes or performance problems;))
Another "esteemed" developer crossed of my list!
(At least indie developers aren't telling lies...)
Again for the "average Joe": At the end of the day I don't give a F if it uses method A or method B. I want my game to work PROPER on my setup...So that "justification" is worthless in any case (unless they want to present it in an academic environment where it makes more sense...)
Honestly I wouldn't have cared about "less or no" transparency in the game if it would run PROPERLY and with SLI support;) (Aka using the same engine as Mad Max which was gorgeous by the way).

I think videogame industry lost the right direction at all...
dont understand the how big sizes of new games (50-60GB of something doesn´t work properly)
There are many games in less than 10Gb with stunning graphics and longer story inside...
Batman saga is a good example for this: how more newer batman is, more awfull performance, more cartoon feeling, and multiplies size as crazy....
What´s the meaning? Textures?, let me doubt...
Invented Denuvo, to break hard drives...
Games are now like a film, Story line full lineal, Point A to Point B, Thats all folks!
each time more as watch tv, only sit push game pad up and ocassionally push another button.
I miss the good times of gaming, in all ways!!
Contents are similar, gamestyles are similar, Mostly are sandboxes, everygames are like Project spark mods...
I can forgive , the poor playability of games, i forgive also games are not original or addictive as before... But... the industry still going "forward"... Without 3d gamers?... i can´t forgive this!!
This 60 Gb of disappointment... i´ll never buy with no 3d options
