Visually best Final Fantasy game in 3D Vision (emphasis on summons)
Somehow I never played a Final Fantasy game until this day although I was always very impressed by those awesome looking summons which are normally incorporated into the game mechanics. Now that FF-XV just released today I was having a look at some trailers and videos and was blown away by some of the game's summons. Since there are already numerous reviews popping up for the game I learned two things: 1. Although there are some rumors there is no PC-version for FF-XV on the horizon. 2. It seems while the summons in FF-XV are awesome looking the developers managed to cripple the summoning-system itself. It seems the summons in FF-XV are completely random in the way that you have nearly no control over them since you can only activate them if a prompt is popping up which in turn isn't really controllable by the player. Even the type of summon seems to be random to a degree. Why I can see the developers' idea behind this (those huge creatures can't be tamed or be controlled. They enter the battlefield on their own behalf and they strike WHEN and WHERE they want) the whole system seems to foil the very definition of a summon in my view. Generally I think this system is making the summons feel more like just a cut-scene during the campaign where you are actually not summoning since you have nearly no control over the huge creatures and you can't incorporate those summons into your play-tactics as everything seems to be totally randomized. Most importantly the satisfying feeling of being the one who actually summons those creatures by his will is totally gone. Now back to my initial question: Looking at helix-page I see quite some Final Fantasy games being fixed for 3D Vision (as far as I know there never was an "out-of-the-box-3D-Vision-Ready"-certified Final Fantasy game). Since I am totally new to the series I am quite confused now by the games' weird names (Final Fantasy X/X-2, X2-Remake HD etc. Also some of the fixed games are Multiplayer only (FF XIV). As I am definitely most interested in those awesome looking summons in glorious 3D Vision (I hope the summons are also rendered in 3D and they are not just 2D cut-scenes) I would like to know which Final Fantasy game you think is the overall best Final Fantasy game that can be played in 3D Vision. As I said I am laying a strong emphasis on the overall visual quality and the 3D-quality of the summons in particular. Thanks in advance........

As I understand it, the movie ends where the game begins. ATM Amazon still has it for $10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGl_2gYrfM0

Final Fantasy X is my favorite Final Fantasy, so you can guess my answer :p. Summon cutscenes and overdrives are fully 3D. But the game is limited to 30fps except for menus.

FFVII & FFVIII here for some reason as final fantasy games. (old games - kinda work in 3D Vision if you take into account they have 2D background - Like Resident Evil 1 & 2 & 3) FFX was OK - story-wise and works good in 3D Vision. FFXIII looks also very good in 3D Vision. Story is... not to my liking. It's interesting but can't attach to it for some reason.

[quote="masterotaku"]Final Fantasy X is my favorite Final Fantasy, so you can guess my answer :p. Summon cutscenes and overdrives are fully 3D. I saw a poll on gamefaqs where they asked for the Final Fantasy game with the best summon animations and Final Fantasy X won that poll by a mile. So I guess I should have a look at FF-X. Since the base game of FF-X is really old I would like to know how much it differs in visual quality from FF-XIII. Also it seems that FF-XIII was released at the end of 2014, while the PC HD-Remake of FF-X - which is basically the older game - has been released just a few month ago in May 2016 so I wonder how its visual quality in 3D Vision holds up against FF-XIII which is the newer game while at the same time has been released on the PC way earlier than FF-X HD Remake. Since I am most interested in those summons and the overall visual quality of the game it seems FF-X HD Remake would be a no brainer if the late PC release also means it is the most advanced in terms of overall visual quality but since its core is the older game I really would like to know how it visually stacks up against FF-XIII in 3D Vision.

FF XIII has summons in it (haven't played XIII-2 or Lightning Returns to know about those), so I'm guessing that would probably be overall the best graphics, although I did find the whole animal/vehicle transformation part of them a little ridiculous. XII had some really amazing visuals in it's summons, and IIRC it's system was somewhat similar in that you did not directly control the summoned creature (so sometimes they would disappointingly not pull off their big limit break move). Been thinking we might see SquareEnix release an HD update of XII next, but at the same time I wonder if they might not bother since it never seemed to be one of the more popular entry in the series (as much as I did kinda enjoy it, I could never stay interested long enough to actually beat it, which was a first for a FF game). I haven't tried and PS2 emulators recently, but I think I heard PCSX2 might have stereo 3D support, so that would probably be a solution.
