Quad-buffering for ghosting/crosstalk
Hi,
I'd like to hear your thoughts and experiences with Quad buffering. (for example, I have a Quadro 6000 card that supports stereoscopic 3D displays with double buffering for Left and Right eyes). Given that there is a buffer for Left and Right eyes, it would be presumed (and advertised as such) that this will offer the smoothest 3D visualizations. Does this mean, it essentially will cut out almost all ghosting/crosstalk regardless of the display characteristics?

does anyone have experience with this? btw, I am refering to hardware-supported quad buffering rather than software quad buffering, which apparently is different.

Quad buffer is just a technique to display the images on screen, it has nothing to do with how the driver/display process the images and display them in 3D. So it will not affect anything differently.

If you are referring to OpenGL quad buffered applications, then I can verify that we have multiple systems that are working with no ghosting/crosstalk. However, I had to reduce the refresh rate from 120Hz to 110Hz or 100Hz to eliminate the crosstalk.
