Great news Andrew.
Nvidia and Acer have been on the ball when it came to delivering 3d vision to a projection environment. Good to see 3DTV Play is doing the same with Acers latest projector.
Anyone find any specs on this puppy? Better contrast/brightness than regular 5630?
EDIT - found press release http://www.acer.co.jp/ac/ja/JP/press/2011/10330
Seems to be same specs as regular H5360 just with HDMI 1.4. Still good for people who don't have HTPC bluray and want to do 3D direct TV or PS3 gaming on their projector with minimal fuss.

3DTV play driver doesn't work with 3d vision glasses and H5360B is supported by that driver, so this projector most likely needs DLP link glasses to work. Won't work with 3d vision kit and glasses...
I personally would still go for the old Acer over this one as it supports both, dlp link and 3D vision(and is 300 dollars cheaper right now), but its good to see that options exist.
Now all we need a 1080p capable 3D VISION based 3D projector, under 2000 dollars.

No. This project will only work with 3DTV Play, and will not work with 3D Vision glasses. Its an HDMI 1.4 projector that has a DLP link signal to connect to DLP link glasses.

I think the 5360 is a little bit better then optoma (microscopic) and it depends some people prefer dlp-link and some prefer 3d vision glasses. Its same product as far as PC goes besides that. However it can play ps3,360, blu ray in 3d without accessories while original can not.

It has yet to be seen if the new projector can play 360 games. Most likely not as 3D monitors which have come out lately with HDMI 1.4 spec can not play 360 3D games since 360 doesn't do HDMI 1.4 3D but good old side to side. I'm thinking projector this will be the same...
H5360BD and H5630 are exactly the same spec wise, but to make it easy for people below are the advantages one has over the other.
H5360BD advantages over H5630
- H5630BD supports HDMI 1.4 out of the box and works with standalone bluray players, ps3 and 3D digital cable, as well as PC 3D content from Nvidia using 3D TV play driver. H5630 needs an adapter to play this stuff (optoma 3DXL, upcoming viewsonic one or VIP 3D Gamer for PS3 only).
H5630 advantages over H5360BD
- H5630 works with 3D vision glassea and DLP Link. H5630BD only does DLP link.
- Can be set up 3D vision surround using up to 3 projectors. H5630BD can not do this.
- H5630 is going to be cheaper and has exact same picture quality

A pity about the lack of 3d vision support, I will hold to my h5360 for pc games and movies and my vip gamer 3d adapter for ps3 games for now, until a cheap 1080p projector gets released.

Can NVidia please explain why this projector needed to be incompatible with 3d vision. Clearly the projector is capable of it.
When I bought the Vision set up and three pairs of nvidia glasses I did not realise that the system was going to be incompatible with projectors going forward. What a waste of money. All the 3d glasses manufacturers are trying to be as awkward as possible so everyone has to buy different glasses. They have gone out of their way to make everything incompatible with each other and anything that has gone before. I didnt see this one coming I have to admit.

Of great interest to me is the inclusion of Colorboost 3D technology. The H5360 uses a 6 segment colour wheel (RGBCYW) but switches off the CYW sections in 120Hz 3D mode and only uses the RGB section. This had a huge impact on brightness and contrast which roughly halves using this mode.
I'm hoping that Colorboost 3D means that it uses the full colour wheel in 3D mode. If true, it's going to look quite special.

This projector was designed by Acer to be HDMI 1.4 compatible and it requires a signal to trigger the glasses. DLP link can triggle the DLP glasses when it detects and HDMI 1.4 signal. The projector does not have a build in IR emitter to trigger our glasses when it receives an HDMI 1.4 signal so our glasses would not work in HDMI 1.4 mode.
So even if we supported it, you would use our glasses when connected to a PC, and then DLP link glasses when you use an HDMI 1.4 source.

how this projector compares to the Optoma HD66?
and why is better the new h5360BD than the old h5360?
