trying to use nvidia vision 2 with rog g750js-ds71
hi,
I recently bought the g750js-ds71, after contacting asus they told me the model supports nvidia vision 2 kit.
so i bought it and now i can't figure out how do i make it work, control panel doesn't have the menu of the 3d vision. although the driver of the nvidia controller was installed.
i read somewhere that nvidia hides it if the refresh rate is under 120hz , considering the default adapter is the intel integrated it might explain it, but i can't find anyway do disable it and use nvidia as primary video adapter.
someone please help!!!

If your integrated Display is not capable of 120Hz, 3D Vision will not work with it. Also it will not work unless it is connected directly to the Nvidia GPU.
To use an external Display, the video output must be off of the Nvidia GPU as well. Also you'll most likely need an adapter.
You'll need PhysX installed to see what GPU your display and video outputs are connected to.
Look at the fourth pic down and also read thru the tutorial.

Could very well be, Optimus has been kicking 3D Vision in the, um, for awhile. Hard to understand how freakin' battery saving on gaming laptops is more important than 3D, even to NVidia. Sloppy.
Bring up your NVidia control panel, and look at the Configure SLI, PhysX section. That will show you port layouts. If you only have external connections to the Intel junk, that will be the problem. You might have a connection through Displayport. You need to use whatever is directly connected to the 870M.

To clarify, are you trying to use 3d vision with an external display, or on the laptop display? Because I think the laptop display should be compatible, according to a number of stores.

It looks from the port layouts that the external connections is connected to the intel junk

yes i am trying to use it with the laptop display
If you're trying to use it with the internal display, I don't think the port connections will matter.
Assuming of course, that the screen really is 3d vision ready (which it looks like it should be).
As another test, are you able to set the refresh rate to 120hz?
i know for sure the display supports 120hz but i cannot choose it (in the picture attached)
also it looks like the display connected to the intel junk, i tried to disable it in the hardware manager but it just shows as the display connected to a generic video card

You might contact ASUS to be sure and read them the riot act if they were pretending it's 3D ready.
I contacted ASUS before i bought it , the response i got (have it saved in my email) was pretty clear that the laptop supports nvidia vision. i don't know about the riot act (don't we have it here). but i think i will just tell them if they won't take the useless kit and give me the money back i will sue them for all the expenses and for moral compensation for going all those trouble because of them.
thanks for your help!
