Problem on 3D Vision Surround Setup with DisplayPort
  1 / 2
Hello, last time i bought two more Asus VG278HE. One is still mine. So now i have three og tehese monitors and want to build a 3D Sorround Setup. But tehere are still some problems. Any game oder also the test won't work, they crah wenn i try them to start as 3D Vision Sourround. If i use only one monitor 3D Vision will work. Ther problem only exists wenn using all 3 monitors. The monitros are connected to my two GTX 980 Ti in Sli over: left and right monitor over Dual-Link DVI Center monitor over an Diaplyport to Dual Link DVI Adapter (CLUB 3D CAC1051). What can be the matter of that? My computer have 12 GB RAM , an i7 980X und an ASUS Rampage 3 Extreme. Maybe is the RAM too small? Or is tehere a problem with the SLI-connector, i only use the small bridge for one contact, is there maybe required to connect both contacts per card?

Older games mean DX9 games? Are you using Windows 10? I have the exact same issue under Windows 10, but work perfectly fine under Windows 7:) So stick to Windows 7 if you play DX9 games in 3D Surround.

I also tried to chnage the connectots but that no influence to the problem. It is alo existing on newer games, but i use Windows 7 and 10. So maybe i can try that on Windows 7.

Right Monitor on DL-DVI on LOWER CARD (PCIE-1). Also, are you running the refresh rate at 120Hz in Windows? If you use 144Hz in Windows and try to use 3D Vision in a window (viewing a photo or using Stereo Player) you will get that error... You also need just one SLI bridge connected not both. Normally I use the one that is closer to the case.

Okay, that partonally worked. On the moment all three 3 monitors are connected on the upper card. Now wehen i start a game 3D don't work correct, this error is incoming: "Warning: Your requested AA setting has been downgraded to 2x AA due to resource constraint. If you don't want to see this message again you either reduce AA in the app or disable stereo or surround." Edit: I have changed the connections to yours, but also the same problem.

The warning is a known bug and has been reported. I think the workaround is to use a different method for anti-aliasing
The warning is a known bug and has been reported. I think the workaround is to use a different method for anti-aliasing
Is NOT a bug BUT a limitation from and "older era" of GPUS. Basically, it says no matter what AA level you set it will be reverted to AA 2x. As a result, you can set it to 16x AA it will still work at 2x AA. This, will not break or crash the game engine in any way... Basically, if you use games in 3D Surround YOU CAN'T USE multisampling ANTIALISIANG HIGHER THAN 2x. Other POST-PROCESSING AA is OK.! To the OP: Mate your description is very vague... Did it work? Were you able to run your games in 3D Surround?

I still consider it to be a bug, because the warning appears even if you turn AA completely off everywhere in many games. It is very annoying.

To exemplify it better: In Witcher 3 you have Hair AA and Post-Process AA. Even if the PostAA is turned off (which doesn't causes this issue anyway) but you set Hair AA to 4x you get that warning and it will still run at 2x. Some games allow you to disable "some" of the AA not all of it:(

No, 3D Vision don't work out of that. After that warning the monitor goes to visualize the duplictaed screen for shuttering, but the glasses dont work correct. They will be dark a bit, but don't shutter, so i see the duplicated screen for 3D on the monitor without the shutter effect.

Okay, now i tried a clean reinstall of the driver on Windows 10. But also when i try to congigure 3D Vision i get the error: "Warning: Attempt to run 3D Vision in a non stereo mode.... Will there be someting i can do anymore? Edit: The problem is that shit CLub 3D 1051. It says to transfer with 120 Hz, but it can't. Edit 2: Now i tested to connect only the monitor with the Club 3D CAC converter and use 3D it don't also work alone. The glasses and the display have different frequncies, so i see thrugh the glasses the picture for both eyes, so the shutter effect don't work correct.

I have a suspicion out of this problem. I found that thread here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/865281/nvidia-3d-surround-problems/ At the moment the converter is connedected to an USB Hub with 4 other devices. So far i tested it to connect it directly to the mothervaord, it hasn#t also worked. Bur there are 7 another devices also connected to the mainbaord. I think that would be an electrical problem. There will be not enough juice for the converter, so it can't transmit the full 120 Hz. Would it be possible to use a separte USB-power-supply?
