Problems with setup with newest Betas 285.38 checkerboarding in setup and reversed in games
So i finally got around to upgrading to the newest beta driver and when i went to make sure 3D was on i had to run the setup again and when it got to the part with the hexagons and the triangles i couldnt do it cause both eyes just showed a checkerboarded mess for both eyes where the shapes were. I tried restarting the PC and the setup but it still did it. I made sure my custom resolution was set right, and that it was on 60hz, and it was.
I selected the same options i always use, and i got past the part with the shapes and the medical test or whatever by answering from memory, so i could enable the 3D and see if it was just the setup that was messing up or games too (the setup seemed to change resolution from my desktop resolution whenever i launch it). So i got into some games and there wasnt any checkerboarding but the left and right images are reversed.

After you do your driver update, you need to run the 3D DLP Hotfix. it's just a little tool that ensures that resized desktop resolutions will display correctly in 3D (especially for the 3D setup wizard). You can download it on Nvidia's site in the support section (google it). Run this little tool every time you do an update on your drivers. Why Nvidia hasn't incorporated this fix natively into each Geforce driver for DLP users is beyond me.
I see you have a Mitsubishi DLP, and I have one too, so regarding the images looking reversed, I notice this happening in DX11/DX10 vis. DX9 games. In other words in DX9 games where "normal" left and right is used, I've had to put my TV in "reverse" for DX10/DX11 games. It could be vice versa for you, depending on what image you selected first in the 3D setup wizard. I've never had to do this before in previous drivers and it seems to be a NEW bug in the drivers.

any chance you have a link to a win7x64 ver of that hotfix? I cant seem to find anything but some older links to a vista hotfix. I know a lot of vista stuff works on win7 just fine, but i want to be sure before i get it.
the weird thing is i've always had to reduce to a custom resolution to fix the DLPs overscan, and I've never had to run this hotfix before.

Get it from Andrews link here for Vista 64bit, it'll work on Win 7 64bit, which is what I use.

The hotfix doesn't enable you to create a custom resolution, it's to enable your custom resized resolution to WORK with 3D Vision.

well yeah, thats what i meant. I set a custom resolution and could always use it in-game with 3D on with no problems. But thanks for the link
