I've googled this and looked forever on some link that would answer this for me, but I didn't find anything.

Will the Avatar Movie come in 3D on nvidia 3d vison?

If by Avatar you mean the Blu-ray that is just about to be released, then no. It is a 2d blu-ray, and you would need to run a 2d-3d conversion program but this would not look very good at all, especially when you have to theatrical 3d version to compare with. The 3d blu-ray version of Avatar has been rumored to be released around the holidays when people begin actually buying 3d tvs.

If you have a blu-ray player in your computer, you will be able to use powerdvd and 3d vision to watch 3d blu-rays when they are released.

Ya apparently Cameron is looking to milky milky the franchise, with rumors of re-releasing the 3D Version with enhancements this summer. Then sometime later they may finally release the true 3D version on Blu-Ray. The only option until then will be to get the DVD version (I actually think the Blu-Ray version includes this) and use the 3D upscaling feature of PowerDVD 10, which kinda sucked imo. You can use the trial for a month to check it out for free, but the feature alone isn't worth it, I'll personally wait until there's some real 3D Blu-Rays before I buy it.

Actually originally Cameron wanted to release it in 3d this year but Fox Said he was speaking prematurely and that there are not enough 3d set ups at home.

Yes, Cameron doesn't care about the money that much, he already has more than he'll ever want, he's not the one who invested the money in the first place, that's FOX. So they're the ones who milk the cow as much as possible.

So you need a new Bluray player for standalone units, but for BD-Rom you dont need to upgrade?

and does anyone know where you can find confirmation that Nvidia 3d kit will support 3d bluray?

PowerDVD designs around nVidia hardware support, so there's no guesswork there as long as nVidia goes in that direction.

I believe nVidia also chairs the committee coming up with the standard, and has obviously pledged support in that direction.

And there's always the occasional Press Release...

edited for the "teaser" excerpt:
•NVIDIA 3DTV Play software will be available later this spring and sold separately with an anticipated U.S. MSRP of $39.99. It will also be available for free for current NVIDIA 3D Vision™ customers

well from what i hear you wont get too see avatar blu-ray untill mid 2011 possibly early christmas but only part of a tv pack.

The reason for this is due to the extra minutes cameron is going to add to the movie then release it in the cinemas then release a standard blu-ray/dvd with extended edition then you will see the blu-ray 3d edition then an extended 3d blu-ray edition.

baisicallywhat lord of the rings is doing as another box set is due out on blu-ray later this year.

It had better be ! Side by side was designed to support 3D inside any 2D video format.
And I'm using it already for my videos by the way ;)
