What is needed for 3D Vision research
Hi
I just wanted to get some information/ advice about going 3D.
I am hoping to start conducting research using 3D videos etc... I was wondering what I need to convert an ordinary PC into one that is able to display 3D films? From what I could read, and at this stage I have almost no knowledge about 3D computers etc, it looks like I need a graphics card and glasses? Would I also need a special monitor?
Also, what is the best product you could recommend, as it is important to have quality.
Thank you.

Probably the latest 27" or 24" 3D Vision 2 monitors since they have a much higher brightness level. If you go with an HDMI connection, i don't believe you'll be able to record videos with Nvidia's drivers. I can with Tridef drivers, which is another 3rd party driver like 3DTV Play. If you connect with DVI, then you should be able to just use the 3d Vision drivers included free with the kit. Someone correct me if im wrong.

46" Samsung ES7500 3DTV (checkerboard, high FOV as desktop monitor, highly recommend!) - Metro 2033 3D PNG screens - Metro LL filter realism mod - Flugan's Deus Ex:HR Depth changers - Nvidia tech support online form - Nvidia support: 1-800-797-6530

Most important fact is 3d DOUBLES your resolution. 1280x720 3d is 1280x720x2 1920x1080x2. If you want to play games that are recent and on good settings you will have to consider getting up to date newest video cards maybe even sli especially if you want to go 1080p 3d.Best options for 3d viewing is either monitor(you should def. get one of the ones that came out more recently because they are always improving ghosting) or a dlp projector(no ghosting but only plays 1280x720 3d) I am a projector fan myself I have acer 5360(500 bucks)+ projector screen(180) +dlp glasses(70)=80 inch 3d set up.

I highly recommend you read my recommendations on video cards if you want to play games on high settings on following resolutions since many people buy cards then don't understand why its laggy. Keep in mind you WILL NEED a good power supply for SLI.Think of lowest as can play highest ingame settings(or close) AT THE MOMENT. Think of highest as definetly can play at highest and has some longevity. This is just a general guide just wrote up cause I saw two people recently buy older cards and it didnt work out for them. SLI usually performs better then a more recent card single. SLI sometimes has issues though. I always recommend getting a SINGLE card. Then when you feel you need to upgrade SLI.

1280x720 3d
lowest(I can recommend)
single 480 or 570.1536 ram
Highly recommend.
single 580 or sli 480 or sli 570.1536 ram

1920x1080 3d
lowest.
single 580 or sli 480 or sli 570. 1536-3072 ram.
highest
single 590 or sli of 580.3072 ram.

If you are on a budget you may want to consider using only 1280x720 because you will be constantly upgrading video cards.
