Asymmetrical Separation? This would be a nice option or registry tweak.
When playing FPS games, everyone knows how annoying it is to aim down ironsights with the weapon positioned smack-bang in the center of your eyes. The camera has been separated symmetrically about the line of sight and this is an integral part of the 3D vision driver.

Apparently, IZ3D's drivers allow you to use assymetrical separation, where one of your eyes maintains the center line of sight, and the other is shifted next to it. When you aim like this, you actually get to close one eye during ironsight aiming and look down your gun, and this can be a great addition to immersion, which would appeal to those using 3D for immersion. It is also useful for times when the mouse pointer is at screen depth and the things you are to click on are not, such as in menus, or in strategy games, and you must align the thing you need to click half way between the two "separated" pointers. With asymmetrical separation, you would need to align it only to one.

I understand there would be some downsides to this, and most definitely strain on the eyes (you would only be crossing one eye, which just wouldn't work for distant focal points), so ideally it would be best used as an instance-change, rather than a permanent one.

I've scoured the net for a way to force the nvidia drivers to use asymmetrical separation, but it seems no-one has ever even mentioned it. Does anyone here, dev, mod, user or guest, know how to accomplish this through a registry tweak or script?

It's a great idea, let's see if we can find a way of making it into a reality. If it isn't possible now, perhaps we could petition nvidia to incorporate it into a future driver release?

Cheers everyone, let me know what you think.
