"Warning: attempt to run stereoscopic 3d in non stereoscopic display mode..." Acer H5360 a
I just wanted to test my new Acer H5360 PJ. So I chose the Acer as my main display device and the Samsung 2233rz as second display device. No matter which application I start (Nvidia 3D vision test application, the game Prototype) I always get this " Warning: attempt to run Stereoscopic in non-stereo display mode, please change to an acceptable mode. See documentation for acceptable Stereoscopic 3D modes"-message. My Samsung is just running fine with 3D vision. I never got this message running 3D vision on my Samsung. I don't know why I got this message now on the Acer H5360 PJ since everything seems to be configured properly. Can anyone help?

Have you got the resolution set for the projector to 1280x720? I get that message when its not! Give it a try!

What I would do is make your PJ your main display and temporarily disable or unplug the samsung display.
Then go in to the control panel and access the test application and make sure it is set to 1280 x 720 120hz then tick the box that says "use this res for all games" (or something like that)
If that doesn't work then reinstall the 3d driver using just the projector and see if the driver recognizes it.

I have not yet tried using both the samsung screen and the projector at the same time so not sure how well they get on with each other.

Still I have no idea what's going wrong with my setup. The resolution is set to 1280 X 720, refresh rate is 120 Hz. I tried it again the way mentioned above and disabled my Samsung 2233rz. I recognized that the resolution in the Nvidia Control panel was still set to 1680 X xxxx . So I changed to 1280 X 720 and checked the box that says "use this resolution for all games". Started the test application and still got the same unwanted error-message.....

So at this point I am still in need of help :-(

I know this is really a bummer, hope that Acer and Nvidia are reading this cause apparently we're not the only ones.
FYI the main thread on this projector is also talking about that issue:

Thanks for everybody trying to help

So, when you install the 3d drivers (latest ones) using just the PJ and it recognises it, does the setup test go in to 3d mode, the bit where you choose which eye sees the square?

I FOUND THE SOLUTION!

All you have to do is download the newest 3D vision driver CD v1.19. The drivers are 195.81. Theses are Beta drivers and you won't find them if you just visit the Nvidia page and look for the newest drivers for your Geforce card. Last time I checked the nvidia page for the newest drivers the page listed 195.62 as the newest drivers. These were the drivers that I already had installed. So I thought I was up to date.

Finally I gave it a try and downloaded the complete driver CD v1.19 (search for "3D vision blog" - there you can download it directly) installed it AND THE UNWANTED MESSAGE WAS GONE!!!

Now 3D has come back to my house...BIG TIME this time!

I don't get it. Launched the 3D vision test application with the flying Nvidia eye and didn't get this hated message (just as mentioned above). Started Prototype and got this message again. Couldn't believe my very eyes and tried the Nvidia test application again.....got the message again.

To sum things up: Installed the new drivers (195.81) and started Nvidia test app (flying eye) --> message was gone, awesome 3D effect

Started a game (Prototype) --> message returned

Started Nvidia test app again --> message returned

ok, as it seems the driver-story was really the solution to our problem. It seems I only got this unholy message again because I used to play Prototype with my Samsung 2233rz and so the set resolution was not compatible to the Acer H5360. After changing the resolution everything was running fine.......

Funny, I tried to install the new drivers and still got the issue. So I went on with changing the graphic card, replacing my quadro 4600 by a Geforce275.
And it worked.
It's just a bummer that nvidia does not properly develop the drivers for the quadro as it is doing for the mainstream cards.
Cause I need these 3D capabilities for work and the tools I use on their end require a quadro card...
Endless story.
But thank you all for your help.

i had that same problem

has any of u got GTA 4 installed on your pc ?

as i found having the Rockstar Games social club running made it happen ! as soon as i closed the the social club program it stoped coming up with that message on all games

its nothing to do with screen rez its to do with the 3D vision drivers not thinking your game is in full screen mode !

most the time its a tab at the bottem of your screen (like the GTA4 social club) making it happen , try to close all programs not needed that have tabs.

Ive just started to get this, about to re-install latest drivers (already have them installed though)

One thing I did notice, running the 3D Setup Wizard, the glasses seem to be reversed, literally turning them upside down would show the 3d correctly...
such as the medical test image... the left eye became the right and vice versa.

Weird its the first time I have had this issue.

EDIT : Ok so my issue was down to disabling my other displays, a reboot sorted it out. Although its the first time this happened

Hi, In my case it was a cable issue. I changed the cable of my monitor from DisplayPort to DVI. I then used the NVIDIA control panel to set my monitor refresh rate from 60 to 120 MHZ. I then enabled 3D again and went through the usual setup, and all was well after that. I think the first generation DisplayPort cables in the market are the cause of the problem. Maybe a DisplayPort cable with more recent certification will also solve the problem. I hope this helps others. Enjoy!
