Simply giving you an option to disable it is not a solution.
Of course it's a solution, especially when the content of the message is bogus.
We have to fix the problem and determine why it occurs since it indicates a problem.
And what if there is no problem? What if the message is reporting a configuration that indicates no problem whatsoever? Example:
"VESA emitter cable is disconnected or Stereoscopic 3D is off on TV"
That's known as a 'false error message' so the overlay itself is the only problem. We understand that it isn't a problem for Nvidia, but it's a gigantic problem for your customers.

Hi
can you comment which version of World of Warcraft you are using? Burning Crusade, Catacylsm? And which patch do you have?
Cataclysm, and the latest patch.
But it doesn't matter the clients basically the same rgardless of BC/Cataclysm for any given patch level, and it's done this for months.
Somehow I missed this thread when it was current. After reading it, and on top of all of the other bizarre things nvidia is doing, I just keep thinking that someone relatively new at nvidia and in a position to call the shots, is at least slightly insane.
I'm not just saying this to be funny, I mean this in a very serious way.

Time to bump this.
I currently have a viewsonic projector which hasnt been added to the driver yet; the Viewsonic 6553w.
I used moninfo to make the 3d driver think I have a Viewsonic 6531w.
Faked the answers in the set up 3d app.
Now I can watch 3d films with my 6553w but I also have the big red warning.
Having an option to turn the warning off is really needed as asking for the projector to be added to the driver was responded to with 'you should have made sure that when buying the projector that it was a model that worked with 3d vision'
I tried to explain it was a replacement for the Viewsonic 6531w that went tits up but they simply replied with the same answer.
If you cant be bothered nvidia, give me access to the source code and ill add it for you, god, it cant be that hard!

I uploaded 2 photoes from my iphone. I just installed the latest 310.70 last night too and it worked fine. It does seem to be very random and finicky.
I have a GTX 670 and Win7 64 and if you need more info let me know
Hi
Thanks for the picture. Can you confirm this occurs with every game and the message never goes away?
Yes once the message fires once, it will fire on any app launched afterwards regardless of resolution or refresh. Until you restart the machine.

My Blog
I fixed by simply just going through the 3D Vision set up over again. I know it has to do with refresh rates not syncing.
