For now, you will have to set up a custom resolution in nvcpl and then force the game to use that (so you get an unsupported mode message), then define the timing for the glasses to match that custom resolution, the next version should have additional DLL patching option so that the custom resolution step isnt required

Anytime that 3DTV Play is enabled, the emitter is deactivated and only acts as a product key. Would it be possible to brute force the emitter on and use Nvidia's glasses?
I was curious, because it might be possible to use Checkerboard + Nvidia's glasses on some TVs/3DHD TVs.

Generic cases like 3DTV Play (HDMI Frame packed, Checkerboard, Line interleave), DLP-link, "Generic CRT" do not even use the timings defined in these tables. You would have to patch out a couple of detection methods in nvSCPAPIXX.dll so that it matches your monitor to a LCD Flat panel that the emitter timings are made custom for. This is complicated manual work and out of the scope of this tool.

Ah, so just to be clear, this tool has no effect if using generic CRT mode?
How about if I used CRU to spoof a 3d compatible display such that it is the display being shown under the 3d vision control panel settings? Would the tool work then?
From what you've said this tool actually adjusts the encrypted timings in the registry that are associated with the display, rather than overriding emitter controls?

I have a feeling that using this tool combined with other utilities and custom resolution tweaks somehow we may figure out ways to make 3D Vision work on non 3D certified displays. Am I on the right path?

Awesome news! It would be really cool if we figure out enabling 3D Vision on ultra wide screens or 32' screens with minimal or no ghosting, like XG32VQ or PG348Q. Users have tried activating 3D no non supported screens but ghosting is severe. This tool would definitely alleviate that.

The tool will help and is actually a massive development IMHO, but don't expect miracles in terms of support of other displays. There is a very good reason why the only certified displays are all TN panels.

There's also an actual PHYSICAL incompatibility with the 3d vision glasses with some IPS screens... the polarizers on the screen need to match the polarizer in the glasses and not be 90 degrees off (or random in the screen) otherwise you will just not be able to see the screen with the glasses on and active (try using your phone while the glasses are shuttering and you will see what i mean).
There's also an actual PHYSICAL incompatibility with the 3d vision glasses with some IPS screens... the polarizers on the screen need to match the polarizer in the glasses and not be 90 degrees off (or random in the screen) otherwise you will just not be able to see the screen with the glasses on and active (try using your phone while the glasses are shuttering and you will see what i mean).
