Crysis DX11 out. Does it allow proper 3D?
  6 / 8
Just finished it after waiting for the DX11 patch and it was worth the wait. The game looks great and gameplay was actually pretty good and better than some of the shooters I have played in the last few years. I also liked the fact that the game was well over a dozen hours for me, considering that a lot of shooters these days only last about half as long for the single player campaign. Sure, its not the greatest game of all time and the 3D wasn't as good as it could have been but it is a worthy PC title IMHO.

What fix? Crytek has their own 3D implementation and that is all we are going to get from them. Their version should work fine if you run the latest 275.50 drivers.

no it doesn't work fine, have you noticed the two vertical lines at each side of the screen where the image is inverted?
and also in the 3d options menu, appears the use driver 3d option

If you are referring to the distortion on the edges of the screen I get after I tweaked the 3D for a better effect. I don't see that when I run the game with the default settings. I just don't think we will ever see anything done to improve the 3d for this particular game. Andrew already posted before in another thread about our complaints about the 3D used that it was Crytek's implementation and that we should contact the developers. From various interviews, including the one I am posting a link to, they feel their method is superior and since they used consoles as the primary development platform, they wanted a method that offered little to no performance loss.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to play this game with normal 3D rendering but I don't think we will ever see it.

rumor has it, windows 8 can run x360 games, then maybe crysis2 gets a HD revamp with stereoscopic 3d instead of their magic carpet 3d.

I installed the hi rez textures and dx11 patch + v1.9. While the difference between dx9 and dx11 is obvious, there is absolutely no difference between hi res and low res textures (hi res = on/off). This is true for both dx9 and dx11. The textures quality is every bit as bad as before the hi res patch on my system.
Comments?

Could you or anyone take screen shots in both hi res and low res so I can compare? Just make sure scene and all settings are identical except for the 'hi res' switch.

is not working for them properly either, i can assure you that they are experiencing the two vertical lines at each side of the screen where the image is inverted but they haven't noticed it

I agree, DX11 64Bit is not working correctly even on 275.50!! Any word from Nvidia on new set of drivers?

DX11 and 3D is working. Problem is hi res textures aren't working. The "hi res = on/off" switch does nothing, textures are always low res.
Could somebody post some pairs of screen captures of the same outdoor scene with hi res on and off so I can see if there is a difference?

I am using 64 bit.

I initially used 275.33 and it did not work. I loaded 275.55 drivers and it still did not work. I uninstalled Crysis 2 and deleted any game saves that were involved in my failed attempts. Then it worked.
