3d Vision setup wizard not progressing past "connect IR emitter" It used to work..... :(
Hello,

I have used 3dvision for a fair while. Recently I tried to fix my flickering issue by uninstalling my nvidia stuff, and reinstalling the older 196.21 drivers....

Now, The setup wizard won't progress past the "connect your IR emitter" !!! It just blinks red forever....

I have tried uninstalling everything again and then using driver cleaner professional, but there is no change...

I have tried installing the components separately, and also tried installing the proper cd that came in my bundle... no difference :(

The cd 1.20 launcher doesnt work for some reason, I can double click it but nothing happens...

Anyone know what might be happening here ?? I feel something is going wrong with the drivers. I use windows 7, which installs stuff automatically whether you want it to or not...
I have tried stopping it doing that, and doing it myself. And I have also tried letting it do its thing...

Bah!!! I shouldn't have touched it while it was working (flickering aside)....

Anyone help ???

I had this problem as well, but I fixed it another way. I went into the device manager and found the stereo controller under the usb list. Right clicked it and said install drivers. I had it search my entire C: drive, and it found what it needed (assuming from the driver folder), installed and was up and running form there. I just had to do this a few days ago when I upgraded to the newest drivers.

Not as easy as swapping usb ports, but this may work if the previous doesn't.

Whenever this happens to me (ie installing new drivers that dont have their own 3d vision driver), I just dl and install the newest 3d vision driver and it also installs the USB driver for the IR emitter, and its fixed.

Simple fix for this problem i have found its a windows issue.. "losing" the driver for the emmiter.. just follow these steps... tab out of the wizzard go to controll pannel > hardwear sound > device manager > find the nvidia ir emmiter on the list > right click it poperties > driver tab > update driver > browse my computer for driver softwear > let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer >select all > click "have disk", Now u need to find the file called nvstusb.inf it should be in your driver cd (NVIDIA_3D_Vision_CD) folder called USB driver.. windows will use this and your emmiter will be installed. ! :) hope this helps.
