Stereo & MSI NX6800GT-TD256 Is stereo available with this card?
Hello,
I just purchased the MSI 6800GT-TD256 card mostly to play games. Even though it was not my original intention, I am wondering if I could use 3-D stereo glasses with this card. There's not much I can find on the Web for this particular card. Would streo glasses work with my Samsung 191T LCD diplay?

thanks for your help,

I have the same card and just got it working in 3d so yes,
I also have a 19in lcd but run 3d on my crt, for 3d in lcd you need the right glasses
but not to sure how well they work on lcd, on a crt the msi 6880gt seems to go great without losing too much fps.

Thank you Mercy - that's a good news. I guess that I would need to download 3-D drivers from the Nvidia site and get glasses that work with LCD monitors. Is it the S-video output that goes to the glasses or can I connect it my unused analog VGA port?

thanks,
Marcel

The 6800 series are the best I have found for 3D, unfortunately getting them to work on an LCD is very problematic. Tomruman, a member of our forum, has found a way to get the NVIDIA stereo driver to work by changing the viewing method to interlaced. Have you taken a look at this thread?

If you have an old CRT you can try it on, you may want to try it on that first, it is much better with a CRT because the page flip method can be used with one. I think E-Demensional is the only company that make glasses that work on LCD's

You will get a dongle that connects to VGA port that you plug the glasses and monitor to. You need to connect your monitor to the dongle to get it to work with the glasses. I don't know if the new ones for LCD have DVI or just VGA like mine.

Take a look at the edimensional website (www.edimensional.com). I have their glasses working with a CRT, but they claim it should work with LCD monitors too.
