I played up till the end of act 2 on the original release but I haven't been able to bring myself to start a new game as of yet. Looking to try this weekend.

PLEASE read the instructions carefully, its a bit more to do just to copy the fix, e.g. the part with the portrait fix sript (0_SetupCharpic_DOS2-DE_3DV.cmd)

I found an issue that affects coop / split screen in 3d, where the "info popup" is partially covered by a wood texture, covering part of the description. See https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1557839631
As mentioned this is not a problem when playing solo. See https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1557839203
Any idea what is causing this issue, shall i add more infos?
By the way awesome job of bringing this title to be played in 3d happy to donate for this! :)

Yes I have exactly the same problem with the wood texture blocking the view in the hud like on your screenshot. But I have the problem in normal solo-game too. Without the 3D-fix the problem is gone (no wood texture) but then of course the 3D is a bit broken (therefore the fix ;-))...

We can skip this texture but i dont know if this is used in any other situation, hence plase check if skipping it is ok:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/losti/d3dx.ini
If you have made some changes in your d3dx.ini and dont want to lose it, you can add this @ the end of it to skip the texture and try it:
[TextureOverride_WoodTexture]
Hash=78fd478e
handling = skip
It worked Losti! Thank you! The wooden texture has gone. Now I know what this wooden texture is meant for. It' s the background of the title of the inventory item. Now without the wooden texture the name/title of the inventory item is overlapping with the name of the item in the background. Problem when the wooden texture is activated is, that the name/title can be written in only one line, or if it's a longer name it will take two or three lines. Therefore the background-texture (wood) should adapt to the length of the name and be only one line when the title is only one line; but it doesn't. Say the title is only one line long, but the wooden texture is two or three lines long/big so it covers some area of the description underneath the title.
I think the fix you made now (eliminate the wood texture) is still better than before, because the title is now overlapping with another title (so two words are mixing) but it's still possible to read the name/title, even if it's hard because it's overlapping. But it's still better than text being totally blocked with a wood-texture. Now we have at least a chance to read the text. Thank you very much!!! Sorry for my bad english, I hope you get what I meant...

[s]it does not seem to work on my end ..
I play Definitive Edition and put the d3dx.ini into below folder but it did not work, the wood texture is still visible.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Divinity Original Sin 2\bin\DefEd\bin
I am sure i am doing some beginner error here, can you advise on proper d3dx.ini placement or usage?
Still kind of new to the topic any help is appreciated, many thanks @ Losti @ 3D_Mike![/s]
edit: nevermind issue solved by doing reinstall of the fix + replacing d3dx.ini file
