This game could have been fantastic in 3D, great sence of speed!
BUT the makers decided to lock convergence......
If only we could increase convergence a bit more then it would have been
insane.
The makers must let us deside whether we use it or not, also because we all have different
size screens and preference of depth and convergence.
Isnt there a way to unlock this,?or maybe we could all ask the game makers to give us
something to unlock it, like i sayd it would give a much much more immersive experience.

This was the reason I didn't buy it, same with RE5. I think whomever made the decision to lock convergence didn't have a clue of what stereogamers want. Probably first time sitting thru a 3D demo in his life and the clueless executive said "well that doesn't look good, lock it guys". I've witnessed too many important decisions made by irresponsible executives that ultimately doom their companies.

If that were the worst thing about the game I wouldn't mind so much, I actually think it looks pretty good with convergence as it is, just go up to around 60 depth. What did stop me playing this al together was losing my saved game after half a season of 30% races + practice and qualifying. That and all the AI bugs make this game a big flop.. At least until they patch it.
Do agree though.. Why lock convergence, it just seems pointless.

It's the same reason convergence is locked in Mafia II: to make sure the cutscenes don't look horrible at high convergence (like they do in GTA4). Otherwise a camera setting that looks amazing for the external car camera would be completely unviewable when switching to the in-car view, inside your trailer, or during the interview sequences.
What really needs to happen is for Nvidia to add something in the SDK that let's developers switch to a predefined locked setting for certain parts of the game and switch back to the user defined settings for the rest.

Last time I tried this (I think post F1 patch) convergence was no longer locked. I made those floating menus pop out of the screen so far I was swiping them out of my face. Still a heap of ghosting, but yeah, convergence seems adjustable now.
