Hey Gang,
I thought I would share this find. A wrapper that can work with old games DX7 and previous and launches them in DX11.
http://dege.freeweb.hu/
All credit goes to the individual of this DX11 wrapper, I believe the user is Dege.
What does this mean? I managed to get two older games (Clive Barker's Undying and Wizardy 8) working in 3D Vision. Convergence and Depth can adjusted and saved by attaching to a DX11 profile.
Now here is the caveat, there are the usual problems we face as it relates HUD, UI etc...I am only sharing prelimary results because I am purely experimenting with this wrapper. I will continue to tweak settings and profiles to get best results. Old games still have there charm and one of the great aspects of Clive Barkers Undying is the atmosphere and sound design. In the meantime I have attached some screenies to show you how the 3D looks for the two games I mentioned. I also wanted to share this for those that may be interested in playing around with this wrapper. I will continue to experiment with different games and if anything, will offer guides to get best results. Please share anything you uncover as it relates to profiles, game, tweaks etc....
To use, unzip all files to a directory of your choice and launch dgVoodooSetup.exe and adjust settings accordingly. In the general tab, check enumerated refresh rate and enable maintain aspect ratio. All other settings in this tab should be self explanatory. The program saves a master file with settings and is global. The directory can be changed within the program.
In the Glide tab (used for Wizardy 8, I have GOG version which supports Glide as a driver) tab set resolution from the drop down. I selected Voodoo Graphics and also enable anti aliasing. There is a 3Dfx folder in the zip file containing 3 dll's. Drop those into the Wizardy 8 directory. With the GOG version, there are existing files with the same name. I just renamed them before I copied the wrapper dll's for back up purposes in case I want to go back to originals. Then use the Wizardry 3D setup to point to Glide.
Then in the DirectX tab selec the dgVoodoo Virtual 3D accelerated card and set your resolution. There is a MS folder with two dlls that you can drop into the Undying/system folder since we'll be using D3D renderer for this game.Launch the game and set graphic options. Don't worry about window mode at this time. When in game, hit the tab key to enable console and you can use a command setres for resolution. I did this setres 1920x1080 and also fov 115. After this exit the game then re-launch. If you did this correctly, 3D Vision can be enabled. For more information go here for a widescreen file fix.
http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Clive_Barker%27s_Undying
Anyway, all this is experimental and I do have time for some of these old games. In spite of newer games, old school games still hold charm and this is only enhanced when you can play in 3D. If you check this out, share some of the older games you can get working. Based on the Glide and DirectX tabs, I suspect this can be used for any game that is DX7 and before. What the results are for each game will be uncovered by experimentation. I also got the first No One Lives Forever to enable 3D vision, but it has issues. i'll report back with a guide if I can tweak it to be playable.
Have fun!

For games using the idTech 3 Engine such as Quake 2 and Sin, you can set cl_stereo 1 to enable 3D.
cl_seperation to adjust convergence.
idTech4 set r_stereo 1 cg_stereosep/cg_stereoseperation for convergence.
I'll have to give this wrapper a try, I had tried nGlide before but if I could get the emitter to turn on, it would still only show a single frame.
Nice, I was looking into Glide wrappers recently and all I was finding were old(outdated?) versions and considering they ALL seem to have config EXEs or are themselves are install EXEs I was extremely weary to try all of them.
I'd love to replay Clive Barker's Undying in 3D ... locked, stuck, jammmed. Lol. :)
edit: I'm a little curious if we might be able to use both this and 3Dmigoto together to remove/fix things.

I got Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver to work by just dropping the DX files into it's folder(didn't have to run the config EXE), removing it from it's profile and adding it to another(3D-Hub Player, Aion) but the HUD/Menu/Text was off screen due to convergence and that was just the defualt value which was extremely low. I had to set it much higher to get Raziel at least at screen depth ... then I tried dropping 3Dmigoto in there as well but didn't have any luck.
Really wish this just had ini setup and there was a way to isolate the HUD from being stereofied ... wonder if there's any profiles that disable stereo HUDs, it was odd that it wouldn't work on it's old legacy profile though.

profile for Tomb Raider: Anniversary renders hud at screen depth.
NVIDIA TITAN X (Pascal), Intel Core i7-6900K, Win 10 Pro,
ASUS ROG Rampage V Edition 10, G.Skill RipJaws V 4x 8GB DDR4-3200 CL14-14-14-34,
ASUS ROG Swift PG258Q, ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q, Acer Predator XB280HK, BenQ W710ST
profile for Tomb Raider: Anniversary renders hud at screen depth.
Yes, thanks Kingping1, I did not try this profile on Undying and this completely fixes and HUD issues and I must say that Undying is working and looking pretty good in 3D. I know Tomb Raider: Anniversary fixes the HUD for Vampire: The Masquerade and also Tomb Raider: Legend. Prevents the HUD from splitting when adjusting convergence. This profile is my go to when a HUD splits. I made an assumption that profile wouldn't work on Undying since the wrapper is for DX11 games. Next time I won't make those assumption!
Main issue with Undying is the sky is out of depth but not sure how many levels are outdoor. The game looks almost perfect indoor and definitely immersive. Sound design is great and adds to the atmosphere!
Thanks again Kingping1 for the tip!

I briefly tried the wrapper with Deus Ex GOTY, it worked pretty good with the exception of cutscenes. There's an HD mod that should be releasing soon.

BTW I know that you can get 3D to work in Deus Ex GOTY by using options already available in the game.
On Quake 2 I installed quake2xp, I downloaded it from moddb

He has a new release that's been delayed.

set cl_stereo 1 to enable 3D
This is an old game, so it uses gl_mode vs r_mode to represent the resolution chosen.
Values:
0 - 320 x 200
1 - 400 x 300
2 - 512 x 384
3 - 640 x 480
4 - 800 x 600
5 - 960 x 720
6 - 1024 x 768
7 - 1152 x 864
8 - 1280 x 960
9 - 1600 x 1200
A few days ago I was able to set it at 1920x1080, by _sp_cl_vid_mode_8 1920x1080, this command enters a new value for gl_mode 8. But the HD mod changed it, so that it's not working I guess.

Keep in mind that these old OpenGL games only work with drivers that have Quad Buffering available.

Great Stryker_66.Somebody,try Tomb Raider 4(2 or 3),please.I don't have the game right now,but would get It in a hurry if It could work with this wrapper.

I tried Drakkan order of the Flame(DX7).THe 3d Vision green text appears, but I could get no 3d.
EDIT:
-Drakkan OF Flame WORKED after adding It to Prototype profile(had to swap eyes).
-Tomb Raider 4 WORKED GREAT after adding It to Aion profile(That's my birthday best surprise). Thanks Stryker_66.

I was actually in the process of trying this when you edited your post. Picked it up last night in a Gamer's Gate sale for $1.74. Aion profile seems to work quite well, thnx.
Tomb Raider Anniversary is a HD remake of TR 1 and works well in 3D.
Happy B-Day.
EDIT: @TsaebehT it was Tomb Raider 4

Drakan: Order of the Flame has a Legacy profile, remove it from or delete it's profile and it'll work fine in 3D ... pretty sure I remember playing this one on Legacy drivers, the crytal/gem icons being doubled and the menu not seems wicked familiar to me. :)
Edit:D-Man11, what game did you pick up for $1.74?

I've added links for all the games mentioned in this thread to the helix blog game list. At the moment they all point to the top post since it contains most info, but if someone wants to write a single post for a game with all necessary instructions (wrapper, profile switch, etc) I can adjust the link.
For Quake II I linked directly to it's post since it is not using the same wrapper/instructions as the other games.

I had the same issue in my OGL wrapper and I found a ways to make all HUDS 2D and keep the world in 3D. Unfortunately this can't be done except if you are in control of the stereo 3D rendering...
This wrapper is translating older DX/Glide to DX11. From there onwards is the 3D Vision Automatic that does the rest.
Since lately I played quite alot with the NVAPI interface and Nvdia Profiles :)) There is a setting to modify the Stereo Cut-off, which in theory is responsible for the position after which everything is 3D. Prior to this value everything is 2D.
I'll look it up when I get home. Maybe it helps.
