Bitstreaming HD audio and 3d with Gtx460
This is my current configuration:

Windows 7 64bit
Amd athlon X2 dual core processor(2.7 ghz)
Nvidia Gtx465
8gb Ram
Samsung Blu ray drive
Nvidia IR 3d vision

Onkyo HT-RC270 Receiver, Polk 7.1 tower speakers and subwoofer
Optoma HD67 Projector

Cyberlink Powerdvd 10 Mark II Ultra Max, Powerdvd 11
Arcsoft Total Media Theatre 5

I'm planning to replace my existing gtx465 with the gtx460.
I want to bitstream HD lossless audio from my PC and use 3d at the same time. It is 720p 3d.
I will be using one port for the video to my projector and another other port for my audio to my receiver.
Is the Gtx 460 capable of doing this with the above software?
Do I need to buy a mini hdmi to hdmi cable or can I use a Dvi to hdmi cable for audio?
How does the gtx460 compare to my existing 465?

It bitstreams the audio for my receiver to decode right?

Please help me out.Thanks

Your 465 can do the 3d video to your projector via HDMI and LPCM to your receiver over DVI (with a DVI-HDMI cable). Is it worth buying a new GPU just for bistreaming vs LPCM at 24-bit?

I'm having trouble playing 7.1 with proper bass management and and also I can't apply ex matrix to movies like Lord of the rings.. but gtx460 works properly for bit streaming with Powerdvd right?

Yes, it does. When i play my Avatar bluray, the sound goes to my Onkyo 508 and the 3d image is displayed on my Acer H5360. The Onkyo plays the DTS-HD or Dolby-HD. The gtx460 is the only Nvidia gfxcard that can do that. The rest plays 5.1 lpcm when watching bluray.

Ok thanks and one more thing, since we are using 720p projectors, we don't need hdmi v1.4, right?

Also, is there any way to get the audio in the surround back channels instead of surround channels in 5.1 movies?

The GTX 560Ti can bitstream HD audio as well. The GF114 chip featured in the 560Ti is really just a re-spun version of the GF104 chip used in the GTX 460.
