Gt 750

and the:
gt 720

i can't decide between the two.

Dude, if you've got the screen space, I'd say projector all the way! I would have if I had the proper wall space in my house, instead of a TV. 100"...3d... drool worthy.

oh my god thank god someone responded, im going out of my mind trying to decide lmao. Now im stuck between which projector to get. Theres the gt750 and the gt720. the 720 is like 350 dollars cheaper! But its the older version and if i settle on the 720 theres like 5 other projecters that may compete with it so that may open a whole new can of worms. i wish someone who knows these projectors inside and out can make a recommendation based on my budget for me! I want the best bang for my buck.

It depends on size room you have(clear distance from screen to projector available)/ lighting(can room reach near darkness?)/ what size screen you want/do you want to play console games in 3d/blu ray player or just pc?

Describe that and I will hook you up.

Basically I have a "Longthrow projector"(acer 5360) which means it needs to be further away from screen. Roughly 8 feet away equals around maybe 70"ish(google projector calculator)
I use a high gain screen 3.0(3d loses brightness). Image is very bright in 2d. I switch to eco mode for 2d and switch it off for 3d. Using "short throw" cuts that distance in half for the same size screen.(Again look at projector calculator)If you get a short throw you should probably getting lower gain screen.
I can not play console games/blu-ray in 3d UNLESS I buy a Optoma 3d xl. Basically hdmi 1.3 can not play console games/blu-ray unless you have that or similar device. Only hdmi 1.4 can play those devices without a box like optoma.
Console games/ stand alone blu-ray player CAN NOT use 3d vision glasses. You need dlp link glasses(they come with optoma 3d xl)
My set-up without an optoma 3d xl. Just projector $500/3d vision kit $100-$130 depending on version/Screen $200 =$800.
Optoma 3d xl=280 but comes with additional pair of glasses.

whoo! Thanks alot eq!. The room is very versatile. It will be used exclusively by a PC for 3d gaming and movie watching.

viewers will either be approximately 4+ feet away when gaming and 10+ feet away when watching movies.

Room specs:
can reach near dark
8 foot ceiling
the projector can be up to 15 feet away from the wall it will be projecting onto. the screen size can be 90 inches and up. I will be making a screen for the picture myself after the projector is hooked up so i can mark where exactly the screen needs to be.

My budget for the projector alone is up to 950 dollars. obviously the less i spend the better.

like i said earlier i was looking at the gt720 and the gt750 projectors but i am very much open to suggestions
thanks again for the help!

edit: just noticed you added more info, that's a badass setup you have there. I read online that the 750 supports 1.4 hdmi and the 720 only does 1.3 like your own projector. What would the tradeoff be there since i will only be using it with a pc? Does this mean 3d will look basically the same? For example i read that the 750 uses 3dtvplay and the 720 uses 3dvision. i wish i knew how this affects the end result since both projectors are 720p.

hdmi 1.3 = 3d vision
hdmi 1.4 = 3d tv play/console 3d/blu ray players.(can download a inf trick to make let it use 3d vision on some projectors)

Go with the 720
go to http://www.focusedtechnology.com/projector-calculator.html (and see what you need to do.)
See if you can get material sample of what you want to use for your screen. Set projector up then compare. Do you need brighter or not. If you dont know or cant figure it out.Its better to get too bright then not bright enough. Can always set projector to "eco mode".
What I would recommend if you dont mind taking the time. Setting up screen then setting projector on 2d content. Set projector to eco mode and find what you are happy with. Then start a 3d game and turn off eco mode. Make sure you are happy with that. Measure distance and find spot to where you are installing it based on distance. Bam you have a 2d/3d set up.

Thanks for clearing that up, one more question. im a heavy user so does this mean i'll be replacing the bulb like once a year? and is it true that bulbs will cost like 200 bucks?

3000/5000 (high power/eco) lamp life - excellent - better than most
If you arent gonna use 2d. find an optimal position for 3d in eco mode.
If you play on it for 12 hour days(crazy) for 400 daysish. I really dont think you have to worry about bang for your buck. You may have to upgrade it once before wanting to upgrade to something better. Can probably find one for 150. If you buy a DLP TV I believe they have same 5000 hour life span.(Its much less pleasant to replace those I bet.)

When you are all set up check out my links in comment. Many hard working individuals are making 3d vision games better.
