I've had 2 hard locks in Firefox thats resulted in me having to restart with the reset button and one driver recovery under Firefox too. Can play for 6 hours straight of BF4/Diablo III no problem on the same system. Disabled hw acceleration in the browser for now..
So no-one wants to comment on my pCars pictures using AC4 CM 3D? They actually look pretty good if you ask me. Not flat and miles better than the current "broken" proper 3D. I am constantly on thier forums asking for proper 3DVision support, but the crickets are a chirping. Without at least this CM mode, I couldn't play it properly in 3D. Whilst I am hoping for a proper 3DVision implementation, I am starting to have my doubts that its coming. Personally, I am thankful to at least have this option. Please check out the shots I posted a link to earlier.
Sorry BazzaLB, I followed the link, but I'm on my work PC which is not 3D compatible. The only way I'd be able to see these would be the cross-eyed method, but that's not available for the screenshots you posted.

Hi guys,
Hi SteveK@NVIDIA,
Can this CompatibilityMode work alongside with the "real stereo3D vision" mode?
I mean: why not adding value to standard stereo3D with this brand new CM mode so every game could benefit the best of both worlds !?
This could solve some "minor" issues in some decent rated games to make them look better. ie: take a look at TESO were most of the stereo broken things are due to post-process effects like (blooms, fake flares, some blur computations (like shadows's edges), etc...)
More generaly, if you look at the things that got broken in most of the games, you will notice that is often because of a post-process effect being computed after 3D renderings and applied ontop of it as a flat layer (blooms, fake flares, some blur computations...). I am just wondering if CM could handle that to give those things some z-buffered depth to fit into standart 3D vision...

... better than 2D imo, I just want the choice to be able to use it on any and every game(DX9-11) because the majority of the games I'd want to actually use it on will never ... ever be fixed(Unity/Indie) ... 3D Vision as automatically on and CM as a choice if 3D Vision looks like crap ... if it could work with Helix Mod even better, could use Helix Mod to disable(toggle?) the HUD elements in games if needed.

I agree, those screenshots look good. How is it in motion? I would think there must be some halos around the car.
I'd also like to see Compatibility Mode as something that could be used for any game, as I think it would be great to have the CM option for new release games. I can imagine that might not be feasible though.

Thats CM and it looks great in motion, but I think thats because the halo effect is less noticeable being as you are looking down the road most of the time. Its miles better than the real 3DVision in this game which is completely broken (although somewhat playable without shadows, but with numerous other anomalies). I doubt they'll fix 3DVision either, so personally, I'm glad this driver has this option. Sure, I'd love the developer to put the time in to do a proper job of it (They are definitely supporting Oculus Rift), but I think its unlikely at this stage.
Don't read this as developer complaint though, they are doing a great job otherwise. This title is really shaping up for us Sim Racing enthusiasts.

Well said BazzalB, it's a wonderfull option I agree as atleast we get something and that they listening so we can toogle it on/off is perfect. Or else it would be crazy. So atleast nVidia did that one right :)

WooHaa! Thanks for posting those TsaebehT, looks fantastic! - I mean, I see the flatness of individual objects, but this is still miles better than playing in 2D.
This makes me wish I could get a similar fix for NFS Shift 2 - a $50 game on my shelf that's barely been touched because it's broken in 3D.

Sorry for my curt reply, I'm still in shock at the recent discovery that nVidia's image quality is so poor only because they made the unbelievably appalling decision to remove the Clamp setting for texture filtering. To see that they're working on this feature for fake 3D instead of fixing Clamp enrages me. How's that going by the way, Steve? Any hotfix coming for the weekend or do we have to wait for the next driver release?
