Hello all. Looking for another 3d adventure. What do you all recommend? Not really interested in Dirt, driving games, sports games, etc. I really like adventure, action, rpg, survival horror, etc.
hmmm maybe tomb raider that everyone here seems to like in 3d????

I picked up Underworld in Maplins for £7 today - bargain! I've heard good things about the 3D experience on it, so looking forward to it.
Anyway, I'm curious about what your experience of Fallout 3 was. I tried it today, and found a ton of ghosting. I mucked around with the anti-aliasing and some other lighting effect, and it seemed to all but disappear. How did you find it? Did you have ghosting problems at first? What did you do to resolve them, if you had any?
As for recommendations, I'm told Batman AA: GOTY is a blast in 3D. Also, I played the opening level of Just Cause 2 this morning, and that was astonishingly good! I don't know if you've tried either of those yet..?

The latest tombraider is very good, assassin's creed 2 is great... Ghostbusters is not to be underestimated, its quite epic, and plays like a movie. Trapping ghosts is, like winston says, a thing of beauty! /w00t.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':w00t:' />
Oh and I failed to mention, Metro2033, which is beyond excellent.

All fine suggestions so far, I would also recommend Batman, Assassin's Creed 2, Prince of Persia 2008 and 2010 as some excellent titles in 3D. Transformers War for Cybertron is also good fun, but make sure to run it with the 60FPS unlocker. I also picked up Ghostbusters in the recent Steam sale and played it for a few minutes and it did look great. Will definitely play through it soon.
AC2 is on sale for $25 right now at Ubisoft btw: http://shop.ubi.com/store/ubina/html/pbPag...Summer_lol_text

No, quite the contrary! Metro2033 a pure fps survival horror with a serious tone. Its linear and cinematic, polished, scary and perhaps the best graphics ever in a game. However you might only get 6-8 hours play, depending on how much creeping you do when your scared /fear.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':fear:' />
Yes, dragon age is good in 3d, near perfect apart from the 2d mouse cursor, which you can learn to compensate fairly well. I found myself swapping to and fro from 2d to 3d simply because of the duration you play it for. But there are no graphics options which need disabling or anything which is great.
Tomb raider is very fun and the levels are very 'adventure'... the story is good too, im now a fan of lara croft.
But yes, I think fallout 3 has to be such great bang for buck now that the issues have been ironed out of it. It plays beautifully in 3d!

Yall ever tried Lost Planet? It actually works really well in 3d. Up the convergence and its beautiful and runs smooth. Pretty fun game with HUGE bosses that look terrific in 3d! I'm also going through Transformers and its a helluva lot of fun. I also installed Sonic Adventure for pc yesterday and it works good! 3d SONIC! :)

please tell me there is SOME way to get the mouse cursor 3d or something? i cant stand 2d mouse use when in 3d. And a game like this ...it must be miserable right?
I'm leaning towards either metro 2033 or dragon age. Metro 2033 is MEANT for 3d but it is short. hmmmm what to do what to do lol

Mate completely agree with the 2D mouse curser thingy, only in exceptional circumstances will I play games at anything less than 100% depth.
However,
with Dragon Age: Origins keep depth at around 25 - 30% and up the convergence and you get the max 3D and the mouse curser only ever doubles at the extreme distance or forefront of the popout. Both extents are rarely used in game so the game remains playable even for fussy dudes like me.
Similarly Prototype.
Fantastic 3D effects with both these games
You might like to consider Torchlight. Once I got over the initial 'disappointment' because you are literally simply hacking your way deeper under the town it became strangely compelling (the tile sets change), the character leveling is cool and I could see why so many people rate it. Also the 3D is mega. Set depth to 100% and convergence so it focuses on your character's head and you even get toyification. The 2D mouse appears to float above the ground and never looks out of place.
At the other end of the scale - Mount and Blade
Nearly flawless in 3D (use nVidias crosshair). Got it and found it a bit too steep on the old learning curve. You start off as a single dude but can end up with massive numbers of different units and settlements. Quite unforgiving though as it aims for realism - which is a good thing.
Left 4 Dead is great in 3D. Not so L4D2 which is a shame (poor water and the torch in one eye only shines in 2 thirds of the screen (other eye is cool). Some maps have very little water and you might not need your torch all that often but it still makes the game feel too uncomfortable for me.
Medieval2: Total War is great in 3D. Dunno if you have played this RTS but it is the daddy of RTSs. Again, not usually my cup of tea but its a brilliant game. I mean brilliant! The mouse is in 2D but for some reason its no biggy in this game. Empire might be the same I cant remember (my rig was not powerful enough to play it with consitenly high frames).
Have you tried HL2? I really enjoyed that in 3D (you will need to search the net to see how to remove the crosshair and try not to get submerge in water as that messes up the water)
GTA4, turn off shadows (cars still show a basic floor shadow), play with the control pad and use auto aim function becuase of 2D curser. Even like this, this game blows EVERYONE away.
Yes Batman AA and Underworld are good too. DId you try Oblivion (remove shadows and get the sky fix tweaks), those oblivion gates look considerably more intimidating in 3D!

Unfortunately not for Dragon Age, it bothered me with the 2D cursor as well so I ended up playing with minimal depth and just adjust convergence. Not optimal but cursor at 25-30% depth or more is so far off its unplayable imo unless you never loot anything and just auto attack.
Metro 2033 is OK. Its 3D Vision compatibility is excellent but as a game its a bit uninspired imo. Totally linear rail shooter where you're just funneled along. No going back, your decisions stick with you and its just too short. Also, it runs frustratingly poorly even on top-end hardware even when you disable Advanced DOF, Tesselation and MSAA (worst implementation seen in any game ever). MSAA that uses 1.5GB VRAM lol, might as well use SSAA instead. I ended up settling with DX9 High settings, all the settings mentioned above disabled just to get a maxed out 60FPS per eye and silky smooth. I found even though I was getting 40-50FPS in DX11 according to the frame counter with the same settings turned off, it was just choppy/microstuttery and unpleasant experience overall. This is with 2x480 in SLI btw.
Anyway, the Steam sale last week would've been a good time to get it. They had it for $25 or for $50 you could've gotten their entire THQ pack which includes Metro, DoW2, CoH and everything else.
If I had to pick between those two games I'd go with Dragon Age despite its 3D cursor/problems just because its the much better game and offers longer playtime. Another thing about Dragon Age, I remember in single-GPU the character icons only rendered in 1 eye, but SLI rendered in both. Not sure if they fixed it newer drivers or a patch but its just something to keep in mind.

Metro 2033
Just Cause 2
Bioshock 2 (finally is decent in 3d still a few prblems but adjusting convergence fixes them)
That is 4 off the top of my head you should give a go.

No, quite the contrary! Metro2033 a pure fps survival horror with a serious tone. Its linear and cinematic, polished, scary and perhaps the best graphics ever in a game. However you might only get 6-8 hours play, depending on how much creeping you do when your scared
It plays beautifully in 3d!

with Dragon Age: Origins keep depth at around 25 - 30% and up the convergence and you get the max 3D and the mouse curser only ever doubles at the extreme distance or forefront of the popout.

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
