Alienware AW2310 problems
I got this monitor yesterday. Did not have much time to test but did some adjustments to contrast (44), used game preset, and made sure overdrive was on as suggested by Andrew. This morning i noticed a blue vertical band right in the middle of the screen. It seemed like half of the screen was normal and the other half had this blueish tint to it. Used some setting on the OSD that can help with image retention, can't remember its name, but after using that everything went back to normal. Turned the monitor off, came back two hours later and had to do the same thing over again. Should I RMA?

I tried modern warfare 2 MP in 3D which suffered of tremendous lag, basically unplayable. I had tried this game with my previous monitor a samsung 2233rz with no problems except for being way too dark. On this monitor which is brighter, 3D looks great on that game and probably in general 3D gaming. Once I get back home I will test a couple of more games to confirm this.

Also the scaling does not work properly. Chose 1:1 in the OSD menu which is basically no scaling and some resolutions fill up the whole screen. Don't know if its a problem with the drivers or the monitor itself.

Anyone with this monitor suffering from the same anomalies?

No. Sometimes I get the blueish ghosting tint(in some games), but it's nothing as your describing and it goes away quickly. I think sometimes the ghosting turns to a blueish/rainbow tint. Really though the ghosting compared to the 2233RZ is 80% less in my opinion.

I do have it on Game preset. Haven't changed anything else. Can't really help you out on this. I'm not sure why your having such problems. I love this monitor and play in 3D everyday on it.

Also they're many threads on this monitor, no real reason to create a new one. /sorcerer.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sorcerer:' />

I did the LCD conditioning for half an hour and the banding/tint is gone!! Went back and played cod6 single and multi and everything was fine. Only issue still present is the 1:1 scaling on non-native resolutions where it fills the whole screen.

Now i'm even happier. Tried some games with bad ghosting especially on light sources ie. fear 2 reborn, mirrors edge. To my pleasant surprise i didn't experience any of the ghosting present with the samsung 2233rz.
