Congrats and all the best for You,DarkStarSword! Thank You for taking a look at the water issues. I had no idea how to fix this issue and I'm very interested in Your code on github. Regarding the depth of the HUD my intention was to give it the same depth as the characters during the figth. So Your eyes don't have to adapt to another depth level when Your focus switches between the action in the center of the screen and the HUD elements. This is the common reason why in Helixmod fixes the HUD is pushed to depth and not popping out. Also lens flare effects use the same shader as the HUD. So this issue isn't very obvious any more when the HUD has more depth. Personally I will continue to play DoA 5 as I was working on a mod that changes DoA 5 into a "turn-based fighting game" and allows me to play it on a level I could never achieve - at least not without weeks of training ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQJigsPKRrs

Indeed, my trainer allows me not only to win a fight but to master it - as long as I play a game mode (story, arcade, time attack, etc.) against AI. And it only takes 1-2 attempts to master even most complicated combo challenges in the input training ;) BTW: one reason to develop the "tbf-mod" was the fact that I wanted to play DoA 5 while I'm training myself on the exercise machine. So it helps me training in every way XD

Sorry, but the game has to run in windowed mode and in case of directx 11 games (like MKX) this disables S3D :(

Well, I'm slowly gaining some fighting skills. More or less. I managed to beat the arcade mode on hard difficulty and even got a "Greatest" rating in one of the battles. Having 3D in this game is really great stuff. Fighting games are perfect for 3D! There's no pointer/crosshair that needs to be at the right depth. The action all takes place at a distance where stereo vision works well. It has a minimal GUI that, when popped out of the screen a bit, shouldn't ever be at a depth behind a character's flailing limbs. The camera mode lets you take good screenshots. With DarkStarSword's fix, it's Excellent rated for sure.

I've updated the fix on the blog to fix lens flares and tweak the convergence & UI depth presets a little (somehow I managed to remove the convergence toggle in v1). There's also instructions on the blog for making it work with uMod. I haven't had any luck tracking down the shader responsible for the flashing part of the health bar when pulling off a critical - 3d4dd, did you have any luck finding this one?

So the health bar issue turned out to be scissor clipping. I've updated the fix on the blog to disable scissor clipping so now the whole health bar flashes for a critical instead. Not quite what the devs intended, but it looks much better than the flashing part being at the wrong depth :)

They finally added the online multiplayer + achievements so I spent a bit more time in this game. I'm still pretty bad, but here's two matches I managed to win, though I'm pretty sure the other guy let me win one of those rounds: https://youtu.be/NH7eX0E7k3c https://youtu.be/HOOYUvs7T2I Not sure why shadowplay didn't record sound on those :-/

Took advantage of that offer thanks DarkStar I feel the port is pretty awful however, blatant port of the ps3 version, and I spent an hour just trying to get past the "auto save" notification screen. A bug thats existed since launch. I love 3d fighters though and I hope namco will be finally releasing a Tekken game next year on PC and it too gets the 3d love.

The bug you hit sucks - I haven't come across that one personally. I take it you were able to find a solution? The port has received a lot of criticism for a bunch of reasons, but I'm preferring to look on the bright side (plus, having never seen the PS4/Xbone version I have the benefit of ignorance):
[.] The game runs *very* well on PC. The bug you hit sucks - I haven't come across that one personally. I take it you were able to find a solution?

The port has received a lot of criticism for a bunch of reasons, but I'm preferring to look on the bright side (plus, having never seen the PS4/Xbone version I have the benefit of ignorance):
 • The game runs *very* well on PC. A constant 60fps in 3D on my laptop easily
 • The netcode while several months late is very high quality. I have no issues playing from Australia despite the high latency between Australia and the rest of the world. By comparison, Mortal Kombat is unplayable online here.
 • The gameplay is very good and the combat system has lots of depth, and despite clocking up something like 60 hours I still have a lot to learn. I find I prefer this combat system over Mortal Kombat, though I am not familiar enough with Tekken or Street Fighter to compare with them.
 • Good support for an Xbox 360 controller
 • Less gore than MK, more assets
 • Good sound track
 • We can play in 3D, which the consoles will never do :)

I don't really like to reiterate the criticisms because to me they are pretty minor, but they do exist and can't be completely ignored:
 • Bad support for an Xbox one controller (can be remedied with xpadder, joy2key or antimicro - see the guide page)
 • Stupid keyboard bindings (see the guide page to fix or use a controller)
 • Since the netcode was so late there aren't many people online and finding an opponent can be time consuming.
 • There are some lag cheats online slowing the game to 30fps to get more reaction time, however this benefits both players equally.
 • Missing one stage from the PS4/xbone version. A shame, but it is only one stage.
 • Lacking "soft engine" from the PS4/xbone version (watching a side by side comparison I can't tell the difference - skin looks fine to me)
 • Lacking destructible DLC costumes from the PS4/xbone version.
 • Most mods require a crack, and the developers have taken a bad stance on mods
 • The single player story is poorly written, but really that's the case in all fighting games.
 • DLC costume packs are stupidly expensive
 • Unresponsive developers

Honestly my biggest criticism is the enormous price tag on the DLC costume packs, but they're only costume packs so are super important to the game. One of my friends bought me one of the packs out of the blue, which was a surprise as the pack costs 1.6x the price of the base game o_O

Tekken is a a lot more complex, than DOA with a higher dexterity requirement, there are some difficult commands and even basic movement takes a while to master, but It's my favorite fighter. I love the characters and the fighting system. (1 button for each limb) Its probably the most complex fighting game which is why it doesn't get the love the likes of the street fighters do. But that's what I like about it. Yeah the nasty thing about that "auto save bug" is that I worked out its actually to do with my Razer keyboard. I have to unplug the thing to play which is awful. I have heard good things about the netcode, which is promising, especially due to how awful the MK one is, makes me wonder if its as good as tekkens which since tag 2 has amazing online play on consoles. But it doesn't matter cause the problem is try as I might I cannot find a match, They really need lobbies or something you can have the best netcode in the world but if the matchmaking is terrible it does not matter. Oh well still good for a bit of fun.
