Well the game darkness went away after changing to 1.34 beta driver.
But new problem arises at the beginning of chapter 2.
The game froze at the scene where the two of the are talking inside a restaurant.

Mine has frozen only a couple of times and I'm now on chapter 10. Restart it and maybe skip that cutscene and you'll be fine. I've also had a couple of times where there have been strange artefacts like triangular flickering buildings and all the textures in my house were a psychedelic purple but upon restarting all was resolved.

I was on the fence about buying this game, but I just got it for free from EVGA!
I'm actually impressed so far. It's sort of different in that the gameplay is pretty linear. That's actually not bad as the linearity accompanies a pretty good story with some character development, it's just unexpected giving the sandbox environment. It's sort of a nice change of pace after the disjointed story that is an excuse for repetitive missions that GTA4 and expansions have.
The 3D looks great. I complained about the convergence being locked in the demo and unfortunately it is still locked in the full game, but now I understand why. There are a lot of cutscenes with close ups of characters that would be unwatchable if the convergence was different. This happened to me in GTA a lot, but I just use the keyboard shortcut to temporarily disable 3d or dealt with it. To be "3D Ready," I can see why they tried to avoid this pitfall, but I wish there was a mechanism for Mafia II to control convergence during the cutscenes yet unlock it for the rest of the gameplay so I could get the high convergence look I prefer.

Is there any one else stuck at Chhapter 2 like I did?
It won't even let me skip the movie.
I tried a few times to skip but gave it all up later.
1.34 is full of S^$&T, IMO.
Nvidia please release the driver that works.

Yeah I had some complaints about this game with ghosting with the demo, but it turns out it was due to the way I was tilting the 3D glasses to be more comfortable with my headphones. Mafia 2 just shows more crosstalk when the glasses are tilted compared to other games. Putting the glasses straight on makes it near perfect again though. Its a bit linear/funneled in design (Go here, do this, go home, sleep, end chapter) but the story is really focused and excellent overall. Really enjoying the game so far and I'm sure many others will treat it like a Sand Box game once they've finished the storyline.
