iARDAs' Screenshot Thread My own collection of 3D screenshots. Uploading daily.
1 / 2
Hey everyone. I will be updating this OP pretty much daily with lots of 3D screenshots.
My steam account is arda371 and I have lots of games. Let me know if you want me to try out a game in 3D and have screenshots. I might not do it right away but i will do it some time for sure.
* Eqzitara is helping me out on uploading the new files to his ftp site. So goodbye to mediafire.com. I will start everything from the scratch and have better Screenshots for the games I had posted earlier. This will take time, a few days, but the list will ONLY grow even more.
** I decided to have my screenshots in lower depth and higher convergence. I believe this will show the pop out effects even more. For each game right next to it I will be writing down the depth that I used and how I altered the convergence.
*** From now on I will also use Helix mods as well for the games that make a huge difference. I will note it next to that game as well.

***** I usually turn on convergence as much as possible within a game.
I am using FXAA when I game in 3D as the performance is better. I am applying FXAA to all of the games out there, and turning off the other AA features. Even a 590 GTX might suffer in 3D especially in some AAA modern games such as Metro 2033 and Battlefield 3.

I appreciate lists like theses. I prefer them to embedded websites anyway. I would certainly be grateful if you kept this updated because such a large collection of screenies is really helpful when gauging the quality of 3D. If you are happy to spend an afternoon building up the list I will add it to my sig.

I will definitely add more 3D screenshots everyday. I will keep this list growing for sure but of course I cant take screenshots for all the games in a short period.
I take screenshots from the games I currently play. I will move on to the new games when I am done with a current game. I am playing Bulletstorm a lot lately and thats why there are so many pictures from Bulletstorm. I am half way through Crysis 2 and will be adding more Screenshots in the coming days.
Thank you for your comment as well
I believe it would be a great guide for people whom are curious about specific games in 3D. Sometimes 1-2 pictures cant tell much about a single game so I prefer to have 30-40 for a single game. I truly believe it would be a nice collection for 3D enthusiasts.
Besides Crysis 2 and Bulletstorm
in the next few days or weeks I will be adding the following games
Battlefield 3 ( Already posted but will post more)
Bad Company 2
Mirrors Edge
Tomb Raider Underworld ( Already posted but will post more)
Witcher
LA Noire
Burnout
Half Life 2
Mass Effect 1
Trine 1
Assasins Creed series
Darksiders
Just Cause 2
Bioshock
Black Ops
Crysis 1
Duke Nukem forever
Fear
Far Cry 2
Hard Reset
Homefront
Portal series
Limbo
Alpha Protocol
Dark messiah
DC Universe
Divinity 2
Skyrim
Titan Quest
Dirt 2
Warhammer Dawn of War 2
Mafia 2
If there are games that people would like to see soon please let me know guys so I could play them first.
I also do believe that having pictures combined under a zip file is a good way to distribute them. In embedded websites I sometimes have problems activating 3D.

Really? I haven't had any trouble on 3DVisionLive in a long time. Might be an SLI or dual monitor thing. (They fixed one of those but I've forgotten which.)
Note that Lara has a 3D laptop computer and she doesn't even need glasses! I expect she simply winks each eye at the correct times so she doesn't need the glasses. She's just uber like that. /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Would really like to see this. Keep up the good work.
Been wanting to play like 9/10 of this games lol. Mirrors edge looks fantastic, I worked with someone to make a quick fix for it and never got around to it. Seems everyones played tomb raider underworld. I have never even played a tomb raider game.

I think it would be great if you would mention if you are using max depth as that will minimis misleading people e.g. Crysis2 and DE:HR max depth is pathetic
Looking at your Crysis2 screenies there is no way of knowing if you used the max depth availiable in vanilla so someone might look at it assuming you just enjoy gaming in low depth and buy the game thinking higher depths are availiable. Does that make any sense?
Thanks!
ps
I personnaly think your screenies, which I can full screen look far better than those uploaded on 3DVisionLive. It might be my setup but they always look wrong to me - the window is too small or something so it messes up the quality.

Mirrors Edge and Homefront SS will be up momentarily.
I agree about the depth in Crysis 2. You dont really have the sense of depth in the scenary but your guns shine in 3D. Honestly besides the guns there isnt really a good 3d feeling in Crysis 2. Same as Homefront. Guns pop up a little but the sense of depth is just mediocre.
I also suffered from the same issue in Mirrors Edge. The feeling of depth was mediocre but I still prefered playing the game in 3D.
In some of the games out there when I turn on 3DVision I feel like hey its not really 3D. many things look like it is in 2D. But when i change that game back to 2D, i say to myself " Ah yeah now i see what was in 3D".. What i want to say is that unfortunately you dont always get the pop out effects in many games.
Lets take Homefront for example. The game does not feel like it is in 3D when I play it, but when there is an explosion right next to me and i see small pieces of rocks getting scattered around, than i feel like I am inside the game and living it, but besides that the entire game feels like 2.5D.. Not 2D nor 3D, besides some guns popping out.

Hope I am not teaching old folk to suck eggs but you should always tweak your convergence. Too little convergence makes the 3D look 'flat'. It sounds like you need a little of this to get depth perception. Try adding convergence to those games you feel aren't giving quality 3D.
It amazes me that nVidia hide convergence becuase for many games it purely chance how the default convergence suites the game's Field of View!
Unless it messes up the game of course. I find it harder to perfect convergence in FPS games because of the gun.

I ADORE tweaking the convergence, however sometimes the left and right signals get messed up. I always try to increase the convergence but I either have bad crosshair, or sometimes the closeby images are doubled although the other images far look great.
I had increased the convergence even higher in Homefront. My Gun's 3D effect was way better but the body of the gun was a double image and that bothers me. I usually set convergence to a level where there are no double images and that is unfortunately sometimes the default convergence level, or maybe a little bit more but thats it.
Here are two examples in Homefront with higher convergence
In the first picture HOMEFRONT10 my issue was the gun looked so out of focus although the 3D effect was great
In the second picture HOMEFRONT11 my issue was that the gun looked just fine but when i aimed down the sights, the gun would become like a double image which made aiming impossible.

I think they thought i was torrenting the game or something. Retards.
I will start everything from the scratch now. I will not add the names bulletstorm or battelfield anywhere in the files and see if the problem still exists...

About lara, probably CrossEye Explains the 3D laptop.

Been wanting to play like 9/10 of this games lol. Mirrors edge looks fantastic, I worked with someone to make a quick fix for it and never got around to it. Seems everyones played tomb raider underworld. I have never even played a tomb raider game.

I will be adding more pics today and especially over the weekend.
However i notice that 3D effects although clear in pictures it is not as great as playing that game in 3D.
I wonder if screenshots cant capture 3D effect as good as the way it is played.

It amazes me that nVidia hide convergence becuase for many games it purely chance how the default convergence suites the game's Field of View!
Unless it messes up the game of course. I find it harder to perfect convergence in FPS games because of the gun.

I will be adding more SS when I play the game later on.
I believe Hard Reset is one of the best FPS games out there which shines in depth.

Hope I am not teaching old folk to suck eggs but you should always tweak your convergence. Too little convergence makes the 3D look 'flat'. It sounds like you need a little of this to get depth perception. Try adding convergence to those games you feel aren't giving quality 3D.
