Too high Freq. when Activating 3dStereo Monitor goes unreadable
Hello stereoscopic viewers all over the world.

I have a strange Problem.
I did a fresh install on my computer and tried to reactivate my Elsa Revelator Glasses.
I tried the 91.31 driver from the Nvidia Homepage, had to edit the inf-file because I own a 7600 GT and.......it worked. I still had the reboots when trying to run Thief 1/2/3, but it worked with many of my games including Doom 3 Demo(great effect!).
Then the computer did not boot any more. The Harddisk was defective, partition lost.

So I bought a new one and installed again.
In the beginning I was quite sure I did it the same way.
But when I activate 3dStereo in the Nvidia Graphics settings I get the normal message about exiting all OpenGL and blabla programs (nothing is started) and after that the screen starts to flicker (and no, its not the stereo test screen) showing an OSD with the message Frequency too high.
I can connect to the PC via VNC: alllooks normal, and when I deactivate 3dStereo driver (in the settings still open) the refresh rates drop to normal and my monitor shows a normal screen again.
Does anyone know something about that behavior? I already played with settings and different drivers (162.50 from 3dguru and more) for hours.
If no one can give me a hint, I will reinstall that whole *%&$§?% thing.
And I even think about reinstalling with W98se, hoping to be able to play thief in 3D stereo again (I love this game).

Sincerly,

Aksels

Look for a check box in stereo properties that says something like 'always use stereoscopic refresh rate' and set check off.
