Project Cars 3D Vision

No a 970GTX is not enough with all the bells & whistles to run Project Cars with the Tridef generic profile I have a i7-4790K and titan-x and I'm 50 frames and with the rain effects I drop down to 35.

Thanks for the info, and sadly from what I know tridef is not supporting sli... Just as an info: with which version gives you the best perfs: Mikes's fix or tridef?
Thanks for the info, and sadly from what I know tridef is not supporting sli... Just as an info: with which version gives you the best perfs: Mikes's fix or tridef?
Mike's version all the way for numerous reasons: - Tridef no SLi support and no Surround support. - Tridef also does some other "stuff" and I measure the software overhead. It is quite a big impact on performance. - Tridef relies on some internal heuristics which are then ported to the nvidia driver. Mike's fix: - Relays on swapping "bad" shaders with corrected ones at load time. - Will use the NATIVE 3D Vision/3D TV play API and drivers. - Supports nvidia hardware way better than Tridef "emulated" layer - Has SLI and Surround support - Better performance overall! (Now that bo3b fixed and improved the 3DMigoto Wrapper quite a lot it should prove even more effective!!!). But...this is my pov anyway:) Talk it with a bit of salt;)

Mike's version all the way for numerous reasons:
- Tridef no SLi support and no Surround support.
- Tridef also does some other "stuff" and I measure the software overhead. It is quite a big impact on performance.

- Relays on swapping "bad" shaders with corrected ones at load time.
Very impressive job particularly in such a short amount of time guys. Thank you so much. I now choose my games depending on your fixes :) All this to say I am very grateful, however in my case, PCars performances get an unusual drop for 3dvision. Maybe this is due to Vram as mentioned earlier but it looks strange to me since Vram issue usually provide irregular framerate, here it is regularly low (Maxed out except AA I would say 20fps average). Even with lower settings in training mode (so one car, no rain, daytime), with all options set to high or medium (except cars and track quality at ultra and medium SMAA) I get kind of poor framerate with few drops under 30 fps I got an AMD FX 8 core at 4.6Ghz and two OC 970GTX in sli, win7 64, last drivers. I will investigate about GPU usage VRAM usage and exact framerate but such perfs look strange to me, didn't someone said at the beginning of the thread a 970GTX was enough to run the game through Tridef Maxed out at 60fps? Anyway, thanks again.
Try editing the d3dx.ini file and change calls=0, and hunting=0, export_hlsl=0, cache_shaders=1. That will put it into a more release mode, and should help performance a lot. If it crashes, you'll need to reenable those to help us out. @Mike: on the car, that is a default care on Dubai. Just dropping into quick race. I'm a little fuzzy on the details. :-> I'll find the shader hash codes and let you know. Edit: Use this d3dx.ini for performance.

Thanks bo3b will try that new d3dx.ini file because I found that the tracks load very slowly ie. usually takes about 13 secs for a track to load but now it takes about 40 secs or more. Is that normal due to the amount of shaders ? Probably this new .ini file will fix that ? Also I tried the Oculus Rift Dk2 with the new shaders in place but honestly could not see any difference. Shadows are broken in pCars on the Rift currently and the new shaders did not change that at all.

Thanks for trying that on DK2 experiment. Thought there was a good chance they might use the same shaders. Not a slam dunk.
Hi Mike, when are you going to release the next version? are there any chances for better lights in future? p.s. Mike, look at Dubai Autodrome National, there you will find more shaders rendered at wrong depth! 2 kids and studies....wow you are my hero... I am myself working in computer graphics and I sometime do some shaders programing, but I was thinking that with a wife, a kid and a job I don't have time to get involved in shaders fixing for stereoscopy.... I feel ashamed now..... Ok I will get a look at tutorials and wrappers wiki next week end haha. Thx for the tip bo3b, I'll try after work and give you feedback with more precise numbers. Thanks again guys.
