Anyone?
This is a crucial question for me, but here's a somewhat easier version:
If a game runs in a window, does it appear 3D (while the rest of the Desktop appears 2D)?
If yes, is it possible the current 3D output format to be one of the above? (for an active TV/Monitor).

I want to do other stuff (browse the web etc) while having open a 3D window on an external active TV or monitor. All HDMI 1.4a TVs (incl. some monitors) support frame packing and several still support frame sequential. Both formats provide full HD 3D on active displays, plus the capability to display the desktop along with windows with 3D content. Frame packing's advantage is that ensures correct left-right sync at all times.

For a TV, you'll need 3DTV Play. I'm not personally familiar with the ins and outs of it, but there is a free trial, and a list of supported TVs somewhere.

With a 3d vision certified monitor, you don't/can't set up an output format. It's 120hz/1080p.
I should clarify my earlier statement. I've played windowed video in 3d with the nvidia 3d player, nut most games only initialise 3d in full screen.

So it is Frame Sequential! Do you have to press the "reverse" button (or however they call it) at some times (to swaap left-right if it gets reversed)?

- Frame Packing 1080p@24fps
- Frame Sequential 1080p@60 fps

If so, are you able to watch 3D in a window (vs fullscreen)?

Why don't you just download the 3dtvplay trial and try it?
