Resolutions + refresh greater than 1080p @ 24HZ Possible?
Resolutions + refresh greater than 1080p @ 24HZ Possible? Many winters ago when I first got a 3D TV as a monitor a wonderful NVIDIA representative on this very forum told me I was full of it and that I was lied to by Panasonic about the 3D TV I had at the time and it could not do 1080p 30Hz or 1080p 60Hz as the specs stated. Here I am in 2016 with a brand new 4k Samsung UN40JU7100. What is NVIDIA's reason why I cannot use these supported 3D modes (let me guess, Samsung is lying about the specs as well, or is it NVIDIA and its representatives that have lied and the software is indeed stuck with some issue preventing it from going about 1080p 24Hz? Specs for the TV say the following 3D modes are supported: HDMI Resolution Frequency (Hz) 1280 x 720p 50 / 60 1920 x 1080i 50 / 60 1920 x 1080p 24 / 25 / 30 / 50 / 60 3840 x 2160p 24 / 25 / 30 / 50 / 60 So what is the NVIDIA excuse/reason why I can't use 3DTV Play above 1080p 24Hz now?

HDMI
Resolution

1280 x 720p

So what is the NVIDIA excuse/reason why I can't use 3DTV Play above 1080p 24Hz now?

Tis a user to user forum, so you are asking the wrong people. So try.... http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/chat/chat_launch http://surveys.nvidia.com/index.jsp?pi=6e7ea6bb4a02641fa8f07694a40f8ac6 http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3141 Or try these numbers US/Canada: 1-800-797-6530 International English: +1-408-486-2000 Or perhaps e-mail Jen-Hsun Huang Because I have absolutely no idea why 3DTV Play has that shitty "official" refresh cap at 1080P. Also I'm pretty certain that your 3D HDTV can not accept 3840 x 2160p @ 60. Does it have Display Port 1.3 input?

Red_Eagle_LXIX - if you had a 4K LG (passive) TV, you could use something like joker18's great EDID mod (see 55UC970 modat.tif, https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/818183/3d-vision/gtx-970-4k-3d-vision-gaming-success-with-lgub850v-passive-tv-/post/4510149/#4510149). You would use this EDID to override your TV's normal display driver. I am not aware of a similar EDID mod for 4K active TVs like Samsung's, although some forum users have claimed to use an EDID to obtain 1080p60 3D with 3D Vision.

You also can try Joker's EDID mode 3840 x 2160 P /60 and see if it support's frame interlaced @ 4K but you can not have dual display setup. Samsung is not telling the full story. The modes are supported but NVidia doesn't support the SBS or TNB modes. Also to use SBS or TNB with the Helix Newer Mods you must set the 3D mode in NVidia Control Panel to checkerboard to support SBS or TNB at the resolution but if your TV supports hdmi checkerboard you have support at 1080P /60. To use the modes above you must relabel the HDMI port to DVI/PC.

The rep is correct I own a 55HU9000 and the 3D modes are the same but only NVidia 3D frame packaging is support @
1280 X 720 /60 or 1920x1080 /24
The other 3D modes above 1080P are for SBS or TNB which is not supported by 3D play or 3D Vision but you can use HDMI checkerboard at 1080P or use a EDID (Acer) and use 1080P frame interlaced which is support by the TV.
