Hi Everybody,
I was wondering if it is possible to enable CRT Mode with the current set of drivers.. I seen an older post from 2013 that said NVidia brought it back but I don't see it as an option..
I remember I used to use the Matrox TH2Go unit and it would allow me to use CRT Mode but I am unsure if we can still do that??

I can confirm that it's available in 373.06(driver I'm on), but whether or not it's available in the drop down menu depends on the display that is connected.

OK so I am trying to find out how to force it to be detected on my PC?? I was able to before but using the TH2Go unit, I was wondering what other way I could trick it to be detected so I can use CRT Mode..
This is for the future project not worried about it on my current system..

Should be possible if you use an EDID override for your monitor. Something that lies, and says that it is a CRT. Even 'generic CRT' would probably work.

You can force it, like DepthHacks... on my DLP I don't get any options, no Discover, no CRT but I can use a modified version of my DepthHack to override it. The biggest issue is figuring out what Values equal what types of displays/outputs.

@Bo3b, I tried that before and never got it too work, I just retried and selected VGA 1024x768 which still did not work..
@TsaebehT, Yes that would be hard to find out which types of dispalys and such.. wish it was easy..
Setting StereoViewerType to 1 *might* be CRT Mode... I'm not really sure, it flickers a lot on my DLP... 2-8 gave me Discover/Anaglyph. If 1 doesn't work maybe someone could post their StereoViewerType for a CRT setup and you could try that.

where do I inser the number 1-9 after the stereoViewer Type=1?? or where the V is located?? I have it saved as a bat file but unsure where to insert the numeral

You didn't have to do anything with that one... it was already set to 1(0x1, "0x1" and 0x1) in the 3 places it's needed(lines 6, 12 and 13) to be.
I updated it(above) so you can use other values/change them via a variable:
Set "StereoViewerType=0x1"
...the Value will need to be in Hexadecimal format(0x1, 0x2, 0x80000001, etc.) it doesn't do any decimal > hexadecimal conversion. It also doesn't need leading zeroes, 0x1 = 0x00000001, but it does need 0x prefix, 1 = 0x1, 2 = 0x2.
I've tried it on my Win10/3D Vision Discover rig and I can't get anything but Anaglyph [possibly because I don't have an emitter connected to it...?], it may or may not need (an)other Setting(s)... I'm not sure, like I said on my DLP rig it definitely changes something.

Well when I change the variable it does not appear to do anything? I run the stereoTest and it appears to be the same color anaglyph wise?? I must be doing something wrong.,.

Sorry scratch that, 2-8 just gave me plain Anaglyph... old notes. On my DLP it's:
0x1 = Possibly CRT Mode?... screen visibly(without glasses) flickering(low refresh rate? 60/2) with 3D Vision glasses one eye black.
0x2 = Discover
0x110000 = Checkerboard/DLP
0x310000 = Checkerboard/DLP
...still looking for my other emitter to see if I can get anything to happen on my Win10/Discover setup, I had a CRT somewhere but moved recently and have no clue where it is. :/
Edit: Found this searching the forum... old but at least confirms CRT Mode:
Anaglyph:"StereoViewerType"=dword:80000001
generic CRT:"StereoViewerType"=dword:00000001
checkerboard on DLP: "StereoViewerType"=dword:00110000
...now just figuring out what else is necessary to actually enable it, VGA?, emitter?

OK I tried using a few EDID's that where for a VGA Monitor.. I was wondering if maybe I uninstall the driver and start fresh??
But I think because I have certified Projectors it will not recognize CRT Mode?? I did see an old post and I think I had the TH2Go setup and used that to trick NVidia to thinking I had a CRT and CRT Mode was enabled as I used that with my old Projectors..
I also remember they used to take out a pin on the VGA to DVI Adapter to get it working but I am unsure if that will still work as I never got it working in the past either..

To get CRT mode on my projector. I have made an edid which I apply using CRU.
However for my 60 Hz monitor connected on DVI I get CRT mode... I wonder why
