No way am I buying a shooter with a 2D crosshair! Wouldnt even download a free one...
If it does have a 2D crosshair, can you turn it off? That's cool, I'm happy to play without it.
Thanks
Andy

Crosshair is fine in RE5. RE5 is 3D vision optimized. The game looks great, but had locked convergence. I just bought it on Stream even though I already have it. It's a great co-op game, but way too short IMO. Cheers.

I've gone for it! Shame about the convergence but I can handle that far more than a 2D crosshair!
Nice one. :)

Yeah, it's really pointless to lock the convergence. I would love to be able to achieve more "pop-out" in the game, but since I can't adjust it it really lessens the overall experience of playing the game in 3D. I have a 65" DLP and I love increasing convergence beyond the defaults in pretty much every game.
I liken it to the 3D film "Toy Story 3." A great film, but because there was hardly any separation the 3D effect was hardly noticeable and certainly not worth the extra money I paid for it.

Resident Evil 5 crosshair is projected at targeted object depth, similar to a laser sight. I have read that if you use an Xbox360 controller you can disable the big crosshair completely and use the red dot of the guns' lasers for aiming similar to what happens when playing this game on consoles, although I have not tested it so I can't assure it works.
If you have a Mitsubishi DLP TV you should be able to play RE5 with the iZ3D driver and unlock convergence completely.
RE5 is almost perfect with the iZ3D driver, there are a few bugs with some reflections on the water, the intro cinematic video does not work and the sniper rifle aiming is a pain (I don't care i never used it in the game)
The only thing you need to do is to manually activate the ingame 3D stereo mode in an .ini config file located in your documents folder because the game does not detect it automatically.

Anyone having a problem with this game and DirectX 10 mode? The shadows are all messed up for me. I don't really play the game anymore, but I'm just curious what the problem is. With the locked convergence I think it's just too disappointing in 3D.

Everything I've read says the IZ3D driver doesn't work with the NVidia glasses. I've downloaded the drivers but haven't bothered installing them yet. I guess I should give it a try.

The iZ3D driver cannot communicate with the nvidia glasses, you need additional software to do that.
The good thing about DLP RPTV is that the TV does the sync (which is the hardest part), the iZ3D driver works perfectly with DLP RPTVs. Then Generic 3D glasses work immediately but for 3D vision glasses you need additional software on the computer to tell the Nvidia emitter to fire up via USB. You can try with the nvidia driver simutaneously (for some people it works, for others it just crashes), you can try the stereoscopic player or the stereo photo viewer trick (used to play console 3D games with 3D vision glasses, it may work with 3D vision too, who knows).
There are also a bunch of guys at mtbs3d trying to code some software to manually enable/disable 3D vision without using the 3D vision driver : http://www.mtbs3d.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=3130

I installed the IZ3D driver and used the 3D DLP output module and it works great. I just enable 3D Vision once the game starts which syncs the glasses to the TV and the IZ3D driver enables me to adjust convergence. I'm still disappointed with this "3D-ready" title. I still can't really get any good pop-out, but the added depth is great. Now I need to come up with $50 to buy the license. :)
