The native resolution and refresh of this projector is 1280x800 and it does support that at 120hz. This should be detected but its not, so when you add a custom resolution, for this, everything is great, except that WARNING message that you are not using the right resolution, when you are. Everything is great but that message. If a resolution cannot be added that is OK with that, at least give us the ability to turn that warning message off. Its ridiculous that we have to rig it all to pick a native resolution, but its more ridiculous that we cannot turn a warning off that is completely wrong.

Annoying, isn't it. Those extra pixels held hostage from your viewing pleasure. The only thing you can do about the message is edit the color to a more transparent looking white color from what I've found so far.
You might contact Viewsonic Tech support and ask them about it. Have them resubmit it, with an updated EDID. There's a NEC PJ that has 1280x800 listed as output. So Nvidia does support it.
The other option is to try competing 3D middleware.

I've mentioned this before on threads where Andrew has got involved..
The only way to do it is use VGA (3d vision sees it as a CRT) then wear the glasses upside down..
However, there is a post here about adding a custom res and he doesn't mention probems with a warning message. I haven't tried it yet but worth a go?

Somehow the hardware makers cant get the drivers out ever. I figured a firmware update could fix this, but the firmware fails to install, so I can never get a firmware update for this. I also dont expect nvidia to keep up with every little device. I have had so many devices that have to be overridden due to driver issues is unreal. Then I have had several that have this issue where everything is fine except the message. It just has to be a message that just shows for 20 seconds then goes away.

This is a dumb question, but are you saying that the message goes away? I never bothered to wait.
Regarding viewsonic firmware in particular, look at the thread somewhere on there and the only I linked to on MTBS3D. It looks like the firmware upgrade problem and the 16:10/16:9 problems were eventually resolved by viewsonic in-house.

It would be better if the message would just go away after some amount of time. I need to find some kind of override so that the driver thinks everything is ok, which it actually is. Its an EDID override or something. For vga, I just chopped the pins off a dvi to vga adapter. I dont know if that works for a dvi to hdmi adapter.
