Wolfenstein: The Old Blood - 3D Vision

No, please don't give up on me, Helifax!I am starting the game with the Administrator rights. I do not have any antivirus, or firewall installed, or anything like that. Basically, a clean Windows 8.1. I have just tried the game with a 2D monitor, and "3D Discovery Mode", and it now WORKS in this mode!

I wonder then what is wrong with 3DTV Play.... I didn't had any problems with 3DTVPlay before... Basically the wrapper/driver uses the NVAPI which is part of the Nvidia driver... I am not doing anything fancy there, just setting a DX context to draw into. What you can try is to open the ini file (that comes with the wrapper) and change the following lines as follows:
ForceFullScreen = false ForceWindowModeSupport = true FullScreenDetection = false
Also be sure that you set the same resolution and refresh rate in the game as the resolution you will be using in 3DTV Play. (should help) Ex: 1280x720@60Hz Let me know if setting these values will work with 3DTV Play :)

Because I'm insane (not everyone will get this one), I tried to load the game ten times in a row without changing anything. I used the 3DTVPlay method, and the recommended ini settings. Results: crash at launch: 5\10 http://pastebin.com/AbfPG2na froze after starting a new game: 2\10 http://chopapp.com/#zvxvuk49 (wait a bit for the file to load) loaded normally, and was playable: 2\10 http://chopapp.com/#q9cctv76 (wait a bit for the file to load) crashed at the "Press ENTER" screen in the main menu, after pressing ENTER: 1\10 http://chopapp.com/#5j22mxfk (wait a bit for the file to load) I then tried doing the same with the "3D Discovery Mode" method, and the results were the same - game randomly crashed or loaded normally, but mostly crashed. So, basically, it was only a wrong assumption from me that certain changes I made caused different 'crash'\'load normally' results with the wrapper. I know, maybe it's not much of an input to work with, but that's at least something new. I just hope this will somehow help to narrow down the reasons of crashing. Thank you! P.S: when game loaded normally on the maximum settings, it was giving 3-7 fps, and with the minimum settings - 10-17 fps. Graphics card was about to expload.

Just out curiosity what GPU are you using that you get those framerates ? Also post your full specs: Hardware + OS (language of the OS), etc. Like I said... There is nothing to fix in the wrapper. I know that you want it to work, but some things can't be fixed in software. I don't know what you want me to do since it works perfectly fine for everyone else except you. If you expect some "magical fix" to make it work for you I am sorry but I am not a magician:)

I posted my specs in the first post. It's really weird because on your laptop you're getting higher fps.

I really don't know what is going on there, but something is defo not working correctly. Do you use a legit copy of the game from Steam? with the latest patch? Are you using any custom settings in the game or console commands ?

Yes, yes, and no. Only with the wrapper I'm getting 3-7fps. Without it it's stable 60.

It definitely looks like something is not configured properly. Crashes and low performance usually are related to improper installed drivers in any case. It's up to you to find out what is specific to your setup and why is not working for you.

As a last resort I am thinking... If you can setup a dual-boot with Windows 7 and see if is working there. If is working on Windows 7 but not 8.1 then I can install 8.1 and see why this is happening. (Currently still using 7 across PCs as 8/8.1 has some bugs/weirdness related to 3D VIsion, so it might be related to this ?!?!)

Tested on Windows 8.1 and like I said the wrapper is working. The game is perfectly playable, no crashes or FPS drops like you report. Solid 60fps (30 per eye). Machine: i5-2300 CPU @ 2.8Ghz GTX 650 Stock card. 12Gb Ram Windows 8.1 As you can see this is a very low/mid gaming pc and is working fine. Like I said, I expect something is wrong with your system there. You need to investigate that:)
