I would like to get the lcd drivers for edimensional's 3D glasses running on Ubuntu. I am just wondering if anyone has had any success (or a good work around). What would be really great is if Nvidia included these drivers in their next linux release (hint, hint)!
I have a FX1400 graphics card, and a VX922 LCD display, and things seem to work okay-ish in Windows.

hi.
You don't need any driver except nvidia-videodriver (download it at nvivia.com). To get your glasses to work, you just need to set up your xorg.conf (/etc/X11/xorg.conf). Set option "stereo" to 1, 2 or 3..... It depends on glasses type, use manual for nvidia-xconfig (or for driver, I don't remember exactly) for more details. You need just applicatin D, but I advise you to read it all (it has FAQ & troubleshooting).
Another advise: do not use beta, release candidate or non-stable versions of a driver, kernel or X. I did some problems with it.

Unfortunately, when using LCD screens (as opposed to CRTs), it looks like you need custom drivers made by Edimensional (not the Nvidia ones) which are only available in Windows. I contacted the manufacturers, and they told me there might be someone who has done some magic to make the LCD drivers work on Linux. They don't seem to have plans to release a linux version anytime soon.

Good luck getting support from NVidia on this point, they ar trying to sell 200 dollar glasses that leverage people onto Vista.. If it's not their intent to do this, talk to me and tell me their thinking. Because I'm inclined to believe they sabotaged OpenGL3 as well.
