I've looked into it, but haven't tested yet. Hopefully I'll get a chance in the next few days to give it a spin in my cardboard. It looks like a combo of vorpx and gamestream whereby you stream the game (rendered on your PC) and provide remote input from the phone with the addition of vr warping and pseudo-headtracking via the accelerometer.

In their setup guide it states you need stereoscopic middleware capable of side by side.

is there a way to force side-by-side rendering using 3dvision? It seems like the game have to be launched in windowed mode, for videos it should not be a problem to watch them but for games might pose an issue.

There are a couple permutations to do what you want currently. You unfortunately have choices with each have finicky caveats. These are the ones I know are common from research. Likely plenty more.
Choice #1 -- Tridef3D (pay) or Veiro Perception (free) to make the game video 3D side-by-side
Choice #2 -- TrinusVR (pay) or Moonlight (free) to do the UI and controls on the android/iphone device
Choice #2b -- If TrinusVR chosen for the android heldheld you now have a choice to connect to a Trinus PC client or connect to the Moonlight android app to then connect to NVIDIA Gamestream on the PC.
(And that sounds silly but there is likely a good reason for it)
If you have a recent enough NVidia rig I would start with just Moonlight with no 3D and see what kind of performance you can get with just that and no 3D cardboard foo. That is likely to be the best performing as it has less code in the middle of the path and is written by folks on the XDA-Developers forum. They know their stuff.

You can use Tridef and moonlight to stream SBS games to your phone and play your games using a VR headset mount.
Depending on your mobile phone cpu power and wifi antenna, you may need to use a usb ethernet and otg cable to get the best performance for game streaming.

Yesterday with all the OR release euphoria....i decided to test TrinusVR, Moonlight/Nvidia Gamestream and Intugame...i don't know i there are others software similars.
Streaming via Router wifi is a no go (at least for me),. maybe the intranet is not properly configured in my router....the delay and the lost in the video quality is high, so this leave Moonlight/Nvidia Gamestream and Intugame out.....BUT TrinusVR have the option to play via USB.
I do a basic test with Bioshock 1 with TrinusVR and Tridef via USB and the delay is minimum (playable) and fps feels good. The accelerometer of the phone works fine (no delay at all), but the screen shakes a litte (suppose need some configuration). I have to use Tridef in SBS windows mode, for some reason fullscreen produce a black screen in the phone using TrinusVR. This weekend i want to configure depth/convergence with Tridef and some stuff in TrinusVR to actually play a little and do a deeper test. Also i need to buy a usb extend cable, because the phone cable is short.
Also test some android demos and app (VR games, VR videos, simulator, travels tours, etc) in the phone + Headmount VR...there are somes very impressive ones.

Great stuff, I was going to do the exact same thing for my Gear VR. I do not have TriDef though, so I guess I would need to buy that? I assume TrinusVR does the lens warping etc? I think Minecraft has a native stereo SBS mode (it has anaglyph), I could try that, or use Helifax wrapper of course. Minecraft in VR would be cool because it's already low res and blocky so who cares about the VR screen resolution? I guess I will try that tonight :-) Did you use the TrinusVR trial version, or did you buy it?

bleh I still havent got my enchanced cardboard :0 glad it somewhat works for others tho.
My main concern is that I have never managed to make tridef works for me, it always gave me that error initializing stereo message... is there somewhere a list of games that supports native sbs?

Try to use games that use native SBS mode or use the Tridef trial version, or try with OpenGL games with helifax method for SBS image (i wonder if is possible to do this with 3Dmigoto and DX games...of course adding some code...this will be GREAT!!!). Also TrinusVR have a fake3D option, i don't tested yet.
Also important to start the game in windows mode...don't worry if you lower the resolution and the game don't fit the full screen in the monitor or TV....in the phone will be full screen. Also you can use the Xbox controller connected to the PC.

My main concern is that I have never managed to make tridef works for me, it always gave me that error initializing stereo message... is there somewhere a list of games that supports native sbs?
