Few keys things i have learned:
buy only supported hardware monitors and graphics cards
buy 3d ready games for the best experience (torrent pirated games cause allot of the glasses out of sync and flickering problems)
have a fresh computer free of malware and viruses (helps allot with the glasses sync.)
DLP projectors or tv's offer the best visual quality.
have a clear line of sight from the em-miter
oh dude i didnt even think about that. i wonder how many of the people complaining about flicker and other issues are playing with pirated games
Sup dudes! :)
I've had my 3d vision setup for about 2 months now. Got the Samsung 2233 (cheapest deal out there) and I've had a great experience with it. But, like alot of things pc related you MUST do tweaking for almost every game! Hell I even change some games with Nvidia profiles. I notice that quite a few people on here must not have done much in tweaking convergence especially. Most games with crosshair problems and incorrect depth settings on certain things can usually be fixed with a mix of depth and convergence. For instance Dragon Age, of course the mouse cursor is 2d, so increasing the depth setting pushes the cursor farther and farther apart. So some people would say "oh its broken in 3d don't play it". But put DAO at low depth (for mouse cursor) and put convergence obscenly high and all of a sudden you have real depth! It's just sticking out at you instead of inside the "window", with a perfect mouse cursor. Then hit ctrl-f7 and save it.
In other words I've not found a game with 2d cursors or HUD's that I couldn't fix with simple trial and error on depth/convergence settings. Now, crap like shadows rendered wrong and whatnot...thats all up to the game developers, as things like that need in engine designated depth. But I've never had a problem with disabling a few things.
Bottom line, if you don't mind tweaking and messing around with things then 3d vision is damn nice! If you just want to plug in and expect everything to pe perfect.... yer an idiot. LOL jk. But its probly not for you.

obviously, there have been driver updates and such, and i understand that since its a very limited market it doesnt make good business sense to allocate resources to development.

its still very expensive and glasses based, its not going to receive a solid following regardless of how bitchingly polished it is. People who want it will shell out the cash for it.
for sure they should put more support behind their product, but its not personal - its business.

I love 3D Vision. I bought a Mitsubishi WD-60737 just for 3D Vision, and have been completely satisfied with the experience I have had so far. While it is true that many games do not work perfectly with 3D Vision on release date, most games do receive support post release, and that is fine with me. I can understand the frustration when a highly anticipated game comes out and the 3D is not working right, but to me it is not a big issue, as I know support *usually* arrives within a month of release. This is probably one of the biggest complaints, but I have adjusted my gaming habits to compensate for this by mixing up the games I play. Rather than playing the newest game the day it comes out, I play games that came out a few months ago that I haven't gotten around to playing yet. To me it just makes games better, unfortunately it also takes twice the power, so while a single 280 GTX would normally be enough for every game out there, in 3D is just barely makes the cut, and is way too slow for the newest games.
Guess its time for a new build...and it will be TOTALLY worth it!
I remember when I first bought a 24" monitor, and I had to get an 8800 GTX because of the high resolution. Then I got the 280 GTX for the same reason, it served me well, and without 3D it would last even longer, but I happily made the move to 3D and now I need a 480 GTX lol.

It's not all that expensive. It can be had for $500 including the monitor if you get a 22". Compared to what people pay for top of the line gpus and hardware it isn't exactly a fortune for an enthusiast. If nV makes the experience top notch then people will come... that's how it always works. If, however, they make it suck as they have, then people will simply use that as a justification to never purchase it in their minds.

Worth every single penny I saved. (A £ / day for nearly a year.) This is by far the most enjoyable perchase I have ever made. Maybe my first car, but that quickly became a tool rather than toy...
As a previous poster said you quickly become good at tweaking and sometimes problem solving but its completely worth it. I still gush over S3D and I have had my googles since March!

I love 3d vision on the games it works with. However I play ALOT of games that do thier rendering in opengl. When I purchased my setup it was close to the initial release of the samsung 2233rz and nvidia glasses bundle. In interviews nvidia stated that opengl support was forthcomming.
Then we got opengl support for quad buffered professional apps for users of quadro cards.
Not what I think gamers had in mind when we heard opengl support.
I was an avid user of nvidia's old 3d solution and had elsa revelator glasses, which were great - but then support got dropped, which was not so great. But they had fully functionning opengl implementation which was fantastic.
That was more what I had in mind when Nvidia stated they would support opengl. I'm sure that's what most of us thought.
I like 3d vision so much when it works that I purchased two more 2233's and two 470 cards - both of which should be here Wed. I'm still waiting (over a year now) for that opengl support - just like many (me included) are waiting on thier 3d surround support.
Nvidia seems to have little to say on the matter. We had one nvidia staff person that I'm aware of state recently that he hopes the surround drivers will be out in a "couple of weeks". We got to participate in a feedback thread where people were asked what they wanted to see in future driver realeases (it's stickied here). Of course many of us asked for opengl support, and we still have no word on when or if that support will ever come.
Nvidia makes a great product. They do regular driver updates. Thier response to their community sometimes leaves alot to be desired though. This is just my opinion.

i have used my 3d setup for around 7-8 months now. i built my own rig, and am using win7 64 ultimate.
my experience with this technology has been a very good one, with no issues to report at all tbh.
my only issue is if i play cod mw2 or bf2 my scores arent as good as they are in 2d because of the wow factor, ie shooting some one instead of looking at the scenery.
i hope you do dive in and enjoy as much as most of us has.
one last thing i will say is you MUST tery batman dark asylum cos WOW.
