What is the best 3D Video Player and how to use it?
Hi D-man, does it play the disc automatically in 3D when you hit play? Full frame 1080p on both eyes?
I'll try another Iso and see.
Thanks,
Yes 3D kicks in automatically, playback is 1080@23.976, frames are repeated to obtain the desired stereoscopic refresh using a pull down method

@sebastatu You can try the 3D files at: https://kodi.wiki/view/Samples#3D_Test_Clips .
Btw, you didn't answer my last post. So you are sure you got a proper Power DVD Version? Is the 3D Vision/TV Play Display the first monitor? Did you set 3D Vision as output format?
Then it should work. I did try several iso files. This should not be the problem!

The PS3 is a great 3D Blu-ray disc playback device, it allows you to adjust the screen size for better 3D.
Unless you rip the disc yourself, you can never be sure that it was done properly.
You can try the Corel WinDVD trial or SlySoft's Virtual Clone Drive might help, it's now Red Fox after SlySoft was shutdown by a lawsuit.

I used to use AnyDVD HD, so that I could playback Blue-rays discs over a VGA connection on my projector. It worked great. effectively removing HDMI handshake requirements.

Hi Teikol, Sorry didnt mean to ignore you. I thought I had replied. But I guess I missed it. I downloaded Cyberlink Power DVD 18..
how do I set 3D vision as output format? maybe this is what I am missing. I get to choose between TV mode and Pc mode. 3D vision is enable, 3D blue ray is also enabled in the app.

If it's a trial version of PowerDVD, Blu-ray 3D won't work. You need to buy it.

Does anyone else get microstutter in 3D movies with Smooth Video Project (SVP)?
https://www.svp-team.com/wiki/Main_Page
I've tried StereoPlayer, nVidia 3D Player, and PotPlayer. The higher the FPS, then worse the microstutter. 48FPS seems to be ~tolerable.
This only happens in full screen - windowed is perfectly smooth at any frame rate (even 60 fps per eye!).
I hope someone here might have already solved this problem I'm having. Every time I run PotPlayer or 3d Vision player I have to restart my PC before 3d vision works in games again. sView don't cause this problem but Potplayer seems to provide the best image quality and is far more flexible than other free stereoscopic players. Only down side is the halo on the side of the screen when you push the [s]convergence[/s]parallax into the screen. Does anyone know what causes this bug?
Since I've tried my first 3d movie on my projector a few weeks ago I got carried away. When Avatar was released in 2009 I went to watch this 6 times cause of a fear that it wont be seen at the cinemas again. So I totally freaked out when I was able to enjoy it again in the comfort of my own home! I want to get every 3d Movie there ever was. I never ever thought it could be this cool. Its such a blast seeing everything I missed in glorious 3d again. Especially classics like Terminator 2 and Jurassic park 1993. Also short documentaries produced by IMAX like Under the sea and Deep sea 3d.

With StereoScopic player, there are many output options, even for frame-sequential shutter glasses; e.g. 3DV (default - this only works for me sometimes), software page flipping, quad buffered stereo etc.
Software page flipping ought to work fine, if indeed you use shutter glasses, though unsure if pot player also has these options...

Madagascar 3, Kung Fu Panda 1 and 2 and Open Season are my favorite are among my favorite animated movies.
(I haven't seen Kung Fu Panda 3 in 3D yet, "Best Buy" exclusive, that I'll be buying soon)
It Came From Outer Space is an old 1950s movie shot in 3D, that is kind of freaky to watch because it was filmed in 3D. It shows it's age and is nothing spectacular. But it almost has that uncanny valley feeling at times.

Thanks RAGEdemon. Usually Stereoscopic player gives you a few minutes to test different format's playback. But with the Terminator 2 MVC mkv file they wouldn't allow it for testing like with others. sView and 3d Vision player completely failed which lead me to Potplayer that took me about half and hour to figure out with all the different codecs and confusing settings you could play with.
I believe the MVC format is framesequential. I had to use the build in H.264 MVC 3D Video Decoder to get it running on Synthesized SBS at full resolution. Which is a very cool function since it, as the mode is titled, gives you full side by side. Certain MKV's provide full SBS. In particular I've noticed this major improvement with Ghostbusters 2016. Its on PAR with Framesequential. But Synthesized Views causes the halo on the side of the screen, when you play around with "Offset X", which is not my main concern though. My main concern is having to restart my PC every time a stereoscopic player takes control of the 3d flags which resets only when I restart my PC to be able to play games in 3d again. I will make a screenshot of the flags in the registry after I've used the players causing the trouble and see what changed after restarting. I'm also playing with profiles in nVidia inspector to see if I could get past this nuisance.
Otherwise I would just have to buy StereoScopic player or PowerDVD. But i would be pissed if I do and the problem persists. Potplayer seems to offer more than you could need and its free =)

Awesome stuff. So far TRON legacy was one movie that made 100 times more sense in 3d than it did on a flat surface. But, to me, the short imax documentaries totally blew me away. I'm very fond of nature and these videos take you to real places you might never experience yourself. I haven't seen many VR 360 videos before. Only the white house with Obama on the Oculus Rift CV1 where the camera position slowly moved. But I sincerely hope the VR fanatics could pull more of these 360 videos off in nature. I've had this idea few years ago and it was so cool to find someone who actually achieved it. At the rate at which the greedy morons are destroying the ocean and forests we might only experience certain species and environments in stereoscopic videos one day. It would also have been epic to see 360 or stereoscopic videos from 1000 years ago. So I hope we could leave something for generations 1000 years from now. If earth would last that long =)

KoelerMeester, a short term slution might be downloading CRU. Bundled with it is a "restart driver" .exe. Running that will restart the nVidia drivers, without having to restart your PC. Ought to save you a bit of hassle :)

Thanks for the hint RAGEdemon. Somehow I feel a bit cautious about CRU. What is the worst that could happen using this software? Cause I vaguely recall this messes with the green overlays? Is everything revertible? Im quite noob'ish here since I never quite wrapped my head around this..
