Question about 3D capabilities
I have an EVGA GeForce 570 GTX. If I wanted to send 3D movies from my Computer to my TV do I need the 3DTV software? Or can I just use a 1.4 cable directly to my TV?

Thanks in advance.

You do not need "3DTV Play".

1. Plug HDMI into your 570 GTX

2. Plug HDMI into your 3DTV (must be an HDMI 1.4a TV)

3. Enable Stereoscopic output in the Nvidia control panel.

4. Open PowerDVD 11 or the new 12 version

5. Enable 3D Playback within PowerDVD

6. Play 3D Blu-Ray

3DTV Play 39.99 - This is for Playing new and old games in 3D on your HDMI 1.4a TV. It is awesome. Once you try it you won't go back to 2D gaming so be prepared.

Couple more notes...

- Disable any 2ND displays that you may have. Just enable the 3DTV display

- There is a small 3D Icon in PowerDVD next to the "Play" arrow. Click it to switch between 2D-3D. Sometimes it needs to be switched "ON" before watching a movie...Sometimes it does it automaticaly.

Do you know offhand if this will work with receivers as well? I have an ONKYO 260 receiver. I know its supported with 3DTV play. But will it work with the receiver without the software?

Set Powerdvd (Or Windows Audio settings...I forget) to "Bitstream" over HDMI...it's in the PowerDVD Settings.

Let it pass-thru your receiver and it will be fine. BitStreamming out from the PC allows you to get the max quality from your ONKYO 260.

Thans a nice receiver!

supported and compatible are subjective! They removed the poineer vsx-921-k from the compatible list because 3d will not pass through it. That's support!
