Basic questions about 1080p 3D
I'm considering buying a projector and nvidia's 3D Vision setup, but I have some basic questions about 1080p.

I read that HDMI 1.4 cant do 1080p at 60hz in both eyes, that it's only 24. Is this a limitation of this setup? Is there a workaround?

Also, I've noticed that, on the supported projector list, in 3D Vision requirements page, there is no 1080p device. So they aren't suported at all? If I settle with 24 fps, how can I know if the projector is compatible with this system?

Unfortunately its a limitation of HDMI in general. The good news is that Silicone Image, the company that produces the HDMI chips announced they had built and were offering samples of the chips about 6 months ago. So we should see them next year. A projector with dual link DVI ( or displayport?) might be able to handle it, but i'd do some research first. I tied gaming in 24hz for awhile and it was actually playable with HL2, which my computer could handle, but when I went back to 720p on accident, it felt like an upgrade due to being smoother. Another way we might get 1080p60 before HDMI gets the upgrade is from TV that will artificially create 60hz by simply displaying the frames more than once. The Sharp LE835u does this and there is no discernible flicker, yet the input lag too high to be usable for gaming. But newer TV's or projectors might have this function and handle it much faster.

46" Samsung ES7500 3DTV (checkerboard, high FOV as desktop monitor, highly recommend!) - Metro 2033 3D PNG screens - Metro LL filter realism mod - Flugan's Deus Ex:HR Depth changers - Nvidia tech support online form - Nvidia support: 1-800-797-6530
