Report issues, bugs and suggestions for the next driver version Request "driver related" fix
Hi everyone,

I'm sure most of you have noticed bugs and issues either related to a specific game or to the entire 3D driver. Let's make a list of these issues in an order of priority and request a fix from nVidia for the future driver release. This way, we can also help nVidia find bugs that might have gone unnoticed, and get feedback for existing drivers. Besides, you can provide some suggestions to improve the overall experience. Make sure that the drivers you currently have are the latest. here's my list.

1- Laser sight still doesn't work with Vista 64bit - I can't believe this bug has made it through all the way to driver version 1.07. IT'S A SERIOUS ISSUE. The poll in this forum clearly showed that a majority of gamers use Vista 64bit operating systems, so most gamers can't use this important feature. Without it, some games are almost unplayable. Please nVidia fix this bug ASAP.

2 - Flight Simulator X - When trying to end a flight by pressing escape, the screen goes dark and player can't see the "End This Flight" and other buttons. Same issue when starting and loading a flight. The screen goes dark, not showing the loading progress. Also, when 3D is enabled (but not turned on), running the game in "DX10 Preview" mode, the graphics look really bad.

3 - Left 4 Dead - When "Community In-Game" is enabled, objects in game that can be picked up such as ammo, guns etc (the ones that glow) have thier glow at wrong depth. The object looks seperate from its glow.

4 - Far Cry - After pressing "C" button or "Crouch", and then pressing "T" button or "Night Vision", the 3D is turned off. The player has to manually press the 3D button to turn it on again. Basically, when you are crouching and you wanna turn on night vision, the 3D turns off.

5 - Accurate and realistic depth perception and 3D profile for some games - This is a suggestion. Some games, for example Far Cry 2, L4D, FSX etc have a realistic and accurate depth perception when played at full depth. You can clearly judge distances just as in real life. However, some games like F.E.A.R (the first one) don't look realistic at all even when played at full depth. F.E.A.R looks like an almost flat 2D image displayed a few feet away inside the monitor. You can check whether a game in full depth is realistic or not by standing next to a close nearby object and focusing your eyes on a distant object. You should see the near object double. In other words, you should be able to judge distances realistically. In F.E.A.R, even when you are standing near of an object in front of your face, and you focus on distant objects, you still see the near object single. In other words, you can't judge distances realistically and the depth is not realistic. Same issue with COD series (COD4 and COd W@W). This can be fixed manually by changing "seperation" and "convergance" in driver, but doing this for every game is a pain. And when you play the games that don't need any change, you have to set it back to default. It would be much better if the game profile itself is changed to show realistic depth.

Any new product has its issues in the beginning, so I hope nVidia addresses these issues soon.
Thanks

I would just remap the shortcut for this function. Make it something you wont' need to use in a game and that will solve the problem. They are slowly making progress with the drivers, but it appears they are concentrating more on adding new functionality rather than fixing old problems... Kinda like Microsoft and their operating systems...

For one I wish they would fix the map in WoW, it's really annoying and has actually caused me to develop a disinterest in the game. I think it's about time they addressed this issue, we've been putting up with it long enough.

They also have not been able to fix the aspect ratio issue with the Stereoscopic Player which is getting old. 576P and 1080P videos are the main problem resolutions. 720P seems to be ok, but most of the videos from the download page are 576P only, even though they state that most are available in multiple resolutions. Only 1 of them has more than 1 res available.

I downloaded the current version of the player and they have at least added the ability to open a DVD, though I'm not sure if we will ever be able to get 3D DVD's that will work with this technology. I have several 3D DVD's but can't get them to work properly with 3Dvision which I assume is a timing issue. They are meant for the shutter systems for TV's so I have no idea if there will ever be a way to make them compatible.

Other than those issues, I have no complaints, it's a great system and fun to use. Here's hoping they will do something soon, I would really like to regain my love for WoW.
