3D LCD only gets 120Hz signal when sole display connected
I am running a Quadro 4000 with an Acer GD235HZ (primary) via Dual-Link-DVI and a Dell u3011 via DisplayPort. When doing 2D windows stuff the Dell runs at 2560x1600 @ 60Hz and the Acer at 1920x1080 @ 120Hz with no issues.
When I try to engage 3D vision content on the Acer, the glasses flicker briefly, then it produces the error message: "Warning: attempt to run Stereoscopic in non-stereo display mode, please change to a acceptable mode. See documentation for acceptable Stereoscopic 3D modes"
At this point, I can use the Acer's onscreen menu to verify that it is now receiving a 60Hz signal. I tried the "Test Stereoscopic 3D" app in the NVIDIA control panel with every possible combination of refresh rate and the card still sends only 60Hz to the monitor once stereo is attempted. I even used the +/- buttons in that app to attempt to force 120Hz, but the monitor still only got 60Hz.
If I disconnect the Dell monitor, everything works as it should. This is not an acceptable solution of course. Does anyone know the reason this is not working, or even better a way to let me do 3D stuff on the Acer while still having the Dell enabled? Thanks!

The display port (if I'm correct) is a sort of a copy of the primary port...
I think you need a second videocard to run 2d and 3d on one system...
But to be honest ,I do not have any experiance with the Quadro's,so I could be wrong here...

Does windows recognize the monitor in the device manager ?
[/quote]
Both monitors show up as "Generic PnP Monitor" in the device manager. Dell doesn't seem to have drivers available for the U3011 and while Acer does have drivers for their monitor, Windows doesn't want to install them, maintaining that the generic drivers are fine.
SimWright, I suspect the reason it is working for you on two monitors, and not for me, is that your monitors are at the same refresh rate.

I've tested setting the Dell to lower refresh rates and the Acer still works in stereo. Both of my monitors are correctly recognized by the nvidia control panel. I am using the Quadro driver version 197.03.
