So has anyone else been keeping an eye on this? What's your guess? The Emergency broadcast has been taken down and replaced with some plausible deniability.

That emergency broadcast went up Jan 1 or there abouts. Today was the first day that the broadcast link www.bmrf.us/ redirects to a blog type webpage http://www.kxbm.net/article/?10360/all-clear-given-for-black-mesa-evacuation-zone
On one hand I'm afraid it might just be the full release of the Black Mesa mod that made it's way to Steam and was "green lighted" around 2 years ago. But was never available to download.

The first half was released and has a community fix on the HelixBlog, the second half after being green lighted never showed up. Supposedly the reason it didn't show up was because Steam gave them access to the new upgraded Source Engine that they were/are working on.
The thing is at GDC 2015 (Game Developers Conference), Steam is going to announce "OpenGL Next".
Speculation is that in addition to announcing the newest version of OpenGl, Steam will show their new Steam Machines and new Controller.
It's also speculated that they will show off their new Source Engine. But....if they do...what will they demo? Everyone is hoping it will be Half Life 3.

I belive Valve is way further in developement with L4D3 then HL3 and if anything they will show as that. Anyway - Dota2 is running on Source2 already (like a year or so).

From what I've read previously, Dota 2 is using a hybrid of the previous engine and will fully transition to the new engine soon.

It seems that someone found a link to some Morse code hidden on the new page and decoded it.

What a strange way to do a project. No Xen level still, and the key difference from the free mod is that they ported it to the new Source engine. And yet another early access game that may or may not make it. Odd.

Given the quality of the work they've already put in, I'd consider it worth the $20 already. Though I'll still let it sit on my wishlist, as I've got no time to play it now.

Kind of related, anyone else try Half-Life 2: Update? I haven't tried any other mods for HL2, Update was pretty impressive ... water/reflections are still broken but from what I tried of it everything else looked really good.

The game is beautiful - I know it's no surprise, but here are some screenies for you.

EDIT - Added a few more, I just love those banks of servers and other equipment, the 'HEV' Charging stations are pretty sweet too!
