A little history. I received the 3D kit bundled with the Samsung monitor for Christmas. At first i was pretty amazed with the technology. After the initial "WOW" factor (maybe 1 hour of gaming) I started to notice some quirks. If it was third person view game, I was seeing ghosting around my character as if there was 3 of him. In a first person game view I noticed a slight doubling around the characters hands or weapon. Also with the Samsung screen the top of the screen was severely ghosting.I also noticed that even with one eye closed i would see this effect. This happens at 120Hz, 110 and 100Hz. I decided to call tech support and see if there was something I had done wrong. Possible set-up problem, driver problem, etc. All of this testing was done at 25% depth, no higher.
The first person i talked to wasn't very helpful at all, just said to play the game at 10% to 40% depth and to not go higher. I told him the ghosting was happening at 25% depth and that the only way to minimize it was to lower the depth all the way. He then put me through to higher tech support and this gentleman was very blunt and matter of fact. He asked if i was seeing any ghosting on the test application. I tried it out and sure enough, with the letters in Nvidia I was seeing ghosting on them. He said i should be seeing absolutely NO ghosting there and his only suggestion was to get a replacement. Right around this time I stumbled upon Alienware's-Dell's newly announced AW2310. I decided to return the samsung and purchased this new monitor and new 3D kit.
So here I am today, new monitor, new glasses and the same problems I was having before. Ghosting in the same places, ghosting still happens with the test application. I am truly at a loss. I mean i was told from Nvidia's tech that I should see NO ghosting with the test application yet here I am on my second monitor and second pair of glasses still seeing tons of ghosting there. I have posted before about this problem and gotten some good info in return yet no real answer on what i can do to remedy the situation or if this is just to be expected with this technology. I have read that certain people have no ghosting unless they dial up the depth really high. Like I said I have never gone above 25% depth. Someone replied about me seeing ghosting even with one eye closed means the 3D implementation isn't working correctly or it could be a sync problem or a problem in general with LCD displays not being up to snuff with 3D gaming. If any of these statements are the truth there is little to nothing i can do about it. I am truly at the point of just throwing my hands in the air and giving up on 3D gaming altogether. I really wanna fully embrace it but I feel in the dark about how i should be perceiving this technology. As i understand it some ghosting is inevitable but the amount i am seeing seems too much and to me at least almost destroys the immersion. Alas, here i am, extremely frustrated /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I cannot help you with the problem with ghosting, but you say that the Alienware screen is as bad as the Samsung? I would be really disapointed if your right
But if you are right i'd try and get your money back for the screen, and mabye.... try and get a 3d projector or DLP tellivision as both these seem to have very little if any ghosting.
Edit: Altough thinking about it, 2 people who have the Alienware screen say it's much much better  than the samsung. So mabye you have a bad component somewhere????

Todays tech isnt perfect, so my recommendation is: get used to it and overlook it or go back to 2d or shut down your computer. Real life is 3d without ghosting!

I have the alien monitor. I'm experiencing 80% less ghosting then on sammy you bought. I know because I used to own one. The only ghosting I get with 100% depth and convergence jacked up a lil bit (In the test) is in the bottom right hand corner (the smaller spinning eye)
As far as games play with ghosting? I'm extremely happy with this new monitor compared to the sammy.
But really man... If you don't want ghosting, purchase a DLP not a LCD.
I also have a 61inch DLP samsung using Driver cd 1.15 and I get no ghosting what so ever in any game.
I'm using full driver CD 1.18 with the alien monitor.
I mean other then that? I don't know... What kinda computer and graphics card you got? I have a really good PC and a 9800GTX+ 1GB graphics card.
I would recommend the alien monitor.. I'm definitely not selling it. /sorcerer.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sorcerer:' />

Could any of you do me a favor and tell me if you get ghosting looking at the letters with the test application? Again, i understand that some ghosting is to be expected but i was told by tech support that i should see NO ghosting there. As of my opinion of the alienware monitor, i haven't really put it through its paces yet. Holding off from giving a verdict until i do.

What about movies/videos - have you downloaded that Bolt trailer and watched it in 3D? anything there.. if the test app has ghosting you have more problems the monitor I would think.. but I wont know.. everything is on my TV

I also get ghosting of the letters in the test application on the Samsung 2233RZ. Consistent with my general experience in games, the ghosting is worse at 120Hz than at 100Hz but still clearly visible and unacceptably distracting at 100Hz.

With movies I think I'm right in saying the depth and convergence are fixed, so if you're still getting bad ghosting with these you can rule out having convergence set incorrectly.

Should see the ghosting I get off the Nvidia test when on my Plasma, I gave up even doing this test as it just was crap.
I also get ghosting on my sammy 120hz on the test but nothing dramatic, they need to just update that test seriously it's boring.
Like someone else said though maybe use convergence option and play a little, just keep holding until it merges I reckon and then go from there.
Still dreaming of a ghost free 3D just work type solution ....
i start to see ghosting around 25% depth on the test app-its not really noticeable until around 30%. I have the 65"Mitsubishi dlp and a 295. i find that in 3d ready games (batman) i can crank up the depth a bit more before i notice any ghosting- but games without full support i have to back off a bit (tomb raider). i think some people are more sensitive to this effect. my wife cannot stand high depth levels and complains about ghosts- however i hardly see any ghosting at the same level and prefer the higher depth. Overall my opinion is that the 3d effect is good but far from perfect. it is too bad that there is a ghosting effect at high depth levels because the 3d effect is simply amazing!
