The settings do not fix the ghosting problem. Its quite a bit more pronounced in fact. As if aiming down the sights wasn't hard enough... It looks like they took out the StereoMode functionality so it only seems to enable/disable stereo
Setting ScreenDist to 0 just flattens out everything.
You are correct in that setting ScreenDist to 0 will flatten everything out, I realized that right after I wrote it. However it is absolutely the cause of the ghosting (as someone else has since noted too). Setting it as close to zero as possible will minimize the artifacts. Also, it can be set to a negative value but there are some issues.

Is anyone finding that r_StereoMode allows you to turn Crytek's lousy screen space reprojection method off and turn Nvidia's full dual image method on?
I have not installed game yet to test.
No, you're still forced to the Crytek rendering method, but adjusting the settings has a HUGE impact on the 3D quality, it is MUCH better. Please understand NVIDIA cannot simply override it, it is up to Crytek to open up the possibility of using other rendering methods.

It would actually be easy to override.
Run game without reprojection stereo.
Let Nvidia 3DVision driver generate the two required images.
The Nvidia driver can generall render any Direct3D content in stereo, as long as devs do not use image-space rendering methods that would break stereoscopy.
Most games without 3DVision profile, which were never actually designed for stereo work well if the devs use standard rendering methods which would not break stereo (certain screen space shadows and lighting methods, skybox too small etc.)!
Clearly Crysis 2 is using standard rendering methods that do not break stereoscopy.
The cheap reprojection method is limiting depth, convergence by creating a "halo" which trys to hide visibilty errors for the method.

Here's my settings. They're actually pretty good, close terrain pops out of the TV and there is a lot of depth. Chainlink fences look messed up close up though. You can aim down the sites clearly without any blur. In fact blur/ghost artifacts are very minimized.
Post if anyone can figure out how to fix chainlink fences, etc. Im starting to think that the 3d stereo crytek created actually is capable of being powerful 3d. Maybe the blurring around depth changes is a bug? It seems really odd to me that the "eye dist" is the cause of the blur artifacts when that mainly just seems to affect the depth of your gun relative to the terrain in front of it.

Each eye sees an area around the gun that appears to be a transparent outline of the same shape where the other eye sees the gun geometry.
The background is filled in on each eye's transparent section but it is not aligned properly with the real background.
In the screenshot below, look at the iron sight at the end of the gun, the tip of the barrel and the near sight.
I only noticed this happening when I started messing with the 3D settings in the cfg file based upon what I've read in this thread. Prior to that, I never saw (or noticed) that "ghosting".

This game runs flawless in 3D for me. Only aggravating problem is the terrible mouse lag. The same thing happens in 2D in triple screen res ie. 5760x1080. Single screen non-3D resolution is the only way i can play this game confortably.

I think the weird ghosting is due to the way Crytek implemented their 3D in the game. I guess we have two options right now, leave the 3D as is or tweak it for better convergence and depth and live with the glitches that come with that. For me, I prefer the extra depth from tweaking and can live with the glitches.

I might have missed it.. but I can't get the game to run in 1920X1080@24 with 3D tv play.. do I assume that no games run at that and i can only use 720@60hz?

Have you heard of refreshlock? Google it, than you'll be able to play any game with 3DTV Play at 1920x1080 24hz. I had to use it with Dead Space 2, as it would not accept 24hz, only 60.

For the most part, but in crysis 2's case you can run it in 1080@60 by using the game's 3d support, just disable 3dtv play. But your tv must support interlaced or SBS 3d modes. I think checkerboard is also supported, but didn't work for me by changing the system config file ... anyone get that working?
I stopped playing it in 3d unfortunately. Even after getting a decent convergence setting, the ghosting bugs were just pissing me off. Oh well, maybe on my second play through I'll give it a go again.

3D as mentioned was unplayable @ 1080. With the available in game 3D settings, when selecting 1080 there was no way to set 24 Hrtz for 1080 except by Vsync.
You would first have to set your display to 1080p @ 24 hrtz first (of course Nvidia Steroscope is enabled already). Go into the game and uncheck fullscreen, and drop the rez below 1024 and then save. Go back to the settings and raise the rez back to 1080, check Full Screen, and Check Vsync and then save.
This activates the 3D. At this point you turn on your 3D glasses. Vsync is what cripples this whole entire thing as it limited your frames to 25 from what i have experienced. So, go back and disable Vsync and then save, and watch your frames jump. My frames jumped to 80-110 average. I also set my Motion Plus to Smooth which helps immensely.
No, you're still forced to the Crytek rendering method, but adjusting the settings has a HUGE impact on the 3D quality, it is MUCH better. Please understand NVIDIA cannot simply override it, it is up to Crytek to open up the possibility of using other rendering methods.

I'll have to check again.
