cool, I picked it up 2 days ago in the steam sale, along with Deus Ex HR directors cut and Castlevania. I've not loaded up RE6 yet, but I will soon. Slightly off-topic, 3D looks better in the DX:HR DC version for some reason. Its not as good depth as most other games, but on my 27" screen it looks acceptable, and you can set convergence in the 3D menu too.

Mike. THANKS SO MUCH. You made my day. Game looks fantastic in 3D. I had horrible issues with the prelude sections with TONS of flickering. I'm now on Leons sections and their is only the occasional flickering type glitch. Some other small lighting issues with spotlights, etc that don't render properly but overall It's almost perfect. Very happy to finally play this game. You mentioned something about possible fixing the shadow/lighting flicker. That would be awesome if possible. I'm running in Surround/sli if that makes any difference.

I also know about the spotlights, but not even looked at them yet. I'll repost when (if!) I have made some progress.
OK guys I'll definatelly give it a try, but how do I unlock convergence for RE5? Let me know and I'll be happy to reinstall the game once again just to see the difference in 3D quality. Or is the unlocked convergence a feature that Nvidia presented us with the newer drivers???? I've just started playing Crysis 3 in 3D, so I'll wait a little bit till I try RE6. I'll probally play RE5 again with unlocked convergence now that I know about this. Anyway, I'm pretty sure RE6 will need a few fixes and since it's DX9, we should wait for a Helix fix to come out. In the mean time I'll be playing Crysis 3, unfortunatelly the 3D in this game is really poor(fake), but still better than plain 2D. I was playing Dead Space 3 in 3D using Helix fix and I was completely blown away by the imersive 3D I got in this game, just amazing by all means!!!!!
Francomg, did you try bumping up the separation in your TV's 3D settings? I tried it with a few Crysis 3 screenshots and it worked surprisingly well. I think there is still a lack of 3D Vision-like difference between near and far separation, but pushing it back into the screen seemed to really help the scenery's 3D look more realistically sized/distanced.

46" Samsung ES7500 3DTV (checkerboard, high FOV as desktop monitor, highly recommend!) - Metro 2033 3D PNG screens - Metro LL filter realism mod - Flugan's Deus Ex:HR Depth changers - Nvidia tech support online form - Nvidia support: 1-800-797-6530

So this issue of mine is a known thing ? Like everybody is experiencing it and mike is trying to fix it, right?
So this issue of mine is a known thing ? Like everybody is experiencing it and mike is trying to fix it, right?
I don't think you explained what your problem is? You said "Yea ther is one with obejects which is hard to explain. Shadows are great tho." but I don't know what that means :-( The issue everyone has is what I logged on the Blog under known issues, and that is excessive flickering in the Prelude levels. I have spent a while trying to work this out but I am stumped - the same shader that flickers in Prelude is used in all the other levels and does not flicker. Because of this, I can't easily disable shadows just for the Prelude either. Other main known issue is spot lights, which I've briefly looked at, but not focussed on yet. **EDIT I have provided a manual toggle so people can disable dynamic shadows in Prelude if they can't stand the flicker. This does not remove all flickering though, only in the dynamic shadows.

Thanks for the images - I don't see anything like that at all. Really not sure what is going on... What nvidia driver are you using?

Like womens extra arm or papers on the ground or those other objects "flaying" of the table. Second screen is about that doble shoulder and head. Also book on the couch. I am on the lates version (331.65).

My point is that I don't get this problem when I run the game, so I don't know where to start to work out what might be going on. Can you do the following: 1. Delete the helixfiles completely and see if the issues still occurs 2. delete the ShaderOverride and DX8Settings.ini files, and see if the problem occurs 3. delete the d3d9.dll file and start the game and see of the problem still occurs If the problem does not occur without the mod, then the mod is causing it. The two tests above will pin-point which part of the mod (fix, or dll).

Also, It seems to only flicker when the image is really bright if that makes a difference. It's like the intensity of a bright light causes the shadows to flicker in and out and get all messed up. Still having a blast with this game. More fun then I thought with all the mixed reviews out there. Thanks again.

I know the cause now of the spotlight problem: the same shader that needs to be corrected to fix all other lights, screws up the spotlights (which start out perfect). I am not sure how to separate them right now... I am struggling actually playing the game myself. I think it looks great, and I like the cut scenes and story, but the I struggle with the controls. If a zombie gets me I have to mash left and right mouse keys really fast, but because I don't play the piano for a professional living I can't do it fast enough, and I always die 9 times out of 10, and it's just freaking tedious and pointless. I could use a controller but I am sure the issue would remain the same. It's a shame because I am interested in the game itself. These key-mashing QTE games are not my thing I guess, I had to stop playing Remember Me because of that as well.

I`ll let you know when i will play it again ;) .....lol
