ION & 3d Films
I've just built a mini-pc to use for watch 3d movies on my projector without having to connect my big pc with cables running along the floor. I used an Aeopen de7000 with an ION chipset which I assumed would work okay.... However the latest drivers remove 3D Vision from the ION chipset. I can get an old 28x.xx driver to work on win 7 (trial), but it's not compatible with the version Power DVD that I have or Win10 that I've installed... Anyway to get 3d Vision working with ION and the lastest drivers?

That uses a really old chipset from the GTX 9xxx series that is no longer supported by 3D Vision. You can get the New Drivers and W10 to work with it for 2d use via some workaround. There were a couple of threads in the driver feedback sub-forum where posters got the new drivers working on W10 with some of the old motherboards that had integrated Nvidia chipsets that were part of the southbridge. Like the Geforce 6150SE nForce 450 GL finding the threads, they are buried somewhere within the last few months of new topics and will likely require you to look page by page. But 3D Vision is likely out of the question, though it might be possible to migrate the inf for your GPU into the new driver prior to installation. Most people use the GTX 720 for a dedicated HTPC because it's cheap, runs cool, low power consumption and supports 3D Vision.

No problem with 2d in win 10 the driver is officially supported and installs and runs fine. The problem is (and I realize I stupidly left out the important info in my first post) that the stereoscopic tab is no longer in the control panel with the newer drivers. I've got 3d vision working fine under win 7 (trial) with 28x.xx and Power DVD 11 (trial) so it seems like quite an arbitrary decision to remove 3d functionality. Just a bit irritated that the two pieces of software I've paid for won't work...

Try to add the GPU inf to the drivers prior to installing or check Laptops2go to see if anyone has done so already. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKiS9uTqjGA
