We also have Sleeping Dogs today for $10. Good review: http://www.mtbs3d.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=13181:sleeping-dogs&catid=38&Itemid=76 Judging from the review and screenshots, this is quite a bit better than NVidia rating of 'good'.

I was looking into get Sleeping Dogs and I had a hunch it was going to go on sale today for 75% off. I downloaded the Demo yesterday and I found the 3D to be completely underwhelming. You can edit the config XML file to adjust depth and convergence, but it's not that great. I did a bit of research on the forums and apparently this game goes into sort of a flat mode when driving vehicles. Since that is a big part of the game, I decided to give it a pass. I understand it is a pretty good game and I was going to buy it, but I find the 3D quality too lack luster for purchase. If anyone can attest to a better quality 3D through mods of configurations, let me know. It is a game I'd like to buy, just not sure if I would be satisfied for the 3D through and through the game. Cheers!

I thought I'd read that the Demo was broken for this game- not patched to improve the 3D. I just bought and installed the game, and played the first chapter or so. It seems pretty dang good to me. I pretty much won't play if it's not S3D, and so I've played quite a number of games. It's possible that I'm not looking for as much depth as others, but I generally will play with depth at 100 on the NVidia scale, and with some added convergence. I like the look of toyified games. It would be interesting to understand why people rate a game like this badly in 3D, when it looks absolutely terrific to me. I had the same problem with Deus Ex. I didn't play it for more than a year after it was released though, so I'd thought maybe they fixed the bugs. I also thought it was incredible. I run the H5360 projector, and it's possible that screen distance is part of this problem. Maybe take a specific shot for comparison. When I look at this shot, it seems terrific to me: http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/3DVisionGames/image/502bef343785016f1200000f/ Good depth as seen to back left corner, shadows are miraculously in the right spot, no single eye problems, red glow from neon in the right spots. Does it seem bad to you?

The 2D hud really hampered the game for me. If I was really interested in game Id probably get over it and reduce depth to like 50%. It is optional to turn off but it was necessary. Someone said that you can key bind to turn it on/off though but I couldnt find it.

@bo3b Thanks for your feedback. I did decide to pull the trigger on it. The 3D effect is definitely there, however, question I can ask here. What settings can someone recommend for the game's config XML file. I can adjust depth and convergence, but are there any other settings. Also, I can't seem to get the game to work 1920 x 1080 @24hz. It works fine at 1280 x 720 @60hz. I tried changing the values including the refresh rate in the XML file to no effect. I've also tried Refreshlock and no go. Any suggestions to configure this game to optimal 3D settings would be most appreciated. I have played a bit of the full version of the game and so far it's pretty good....love the asian theme....

I played it a bit, and experimented with the settings. I did not edit the XML file, as it seemed fairly good with the in-game settings of Depth=3, Convergence=10. Even in vehicles this seemed pretty good to me. The settings are named backwards, which might be part of the confusion. Their "convergence" is actually depth. Here is a gallery with different settings: http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/bo3bber/album/5107a7da5ec346d125000008/ There is almost never anything in the foreground, which is why the actual convergence does not seem to do much. @Stryker- you might try playing with the frame limiter options in advanced settings. I don't understand what they do, but the might impact your 1080@24 problem.

Sleeping Dogs was awesome in 3D, despite a some minor issues. Very good game, a mix of GTA IV and Kung Fu fighting.... Highly recomend it, and 3D is quite good. This game has very good graphics and true DX11 implementation... Ive just edited the XML file to inscrease depth to 15, instead of 10. At 15, the depth is similar to 65% in a 3D Vision game, which is fine for me. 10 is to flat for me as well. Convergence settings are OK, I haven't edited it. I've played Sleeping Dogs with 15 depth and 6 for convergence, and I had lots of pop outs and really liked the 3D in this game. It's not a Crysis 2 type of 3D, I assure you that. The strangeness about the 3D in this game is because it was implemented by AMD/ATI instead of Nvidia. AMD doesn't know crap about 3D, they should just let Nvidia do it, cause they surely do a much better job

Thanks for the sale reminder of Sleeping Dogs! I couldn't afford it before.
Also, I can't seem to get the game to work 1920 x 1080 @24hz. I just spent a few hours with the game in 3D at a resolution of 1920x1080@24hz with great frame rates. What a notable difference from the 1280x720@60hz. This game is up there in graphical quality and the asian theme, open world and story make this a greaat 3D title to the collection. The talent from the 3D community shows once again...
