Did game got updated in-between those fixes ? I am wondering if that is because of game being changed not the fix.
I had very first version of the game because I had auto-update switched off and I had great performance. Didn`t change after updating so I assumed that it is not the case but maybe for someone else it does.

No, there is something wrong with the latest fixes.
I was able to reproduce the issue. Yet, I can't see what change made this performance loss come into place...
I am looking through the SVN commits and can't find something that could affect this...
I guess I have to manually debug this thing...:(

You don't want to know:)) Basically some settings weren't working properly. A bug in the code I added yesterday to be able to toggle the rendering mode: SyncToScreen, etc.
^_^
Now you should have the ability to change between the old way and the new way by changing the parameters in the ini file.
Let me know if now is working like before;))

Yep! Performance is back :) So far it doesn't seem to work faster, but going to experiment with new settings.
Thank you very much, Helifax! :)
EDIT: Forgot to ask. I'm having white flashes in left eye quite often since I came to Theta (no, I'm physically OK :P). Do you have them also, or it only me?

Latest version seems as good as it could be, meaning excellent!
Using it's default values(nothing tweaked) and I have not a single sync problem with perfect(for 3D) performance. Lowest fps I've seen was ~88 I think.
THANK YOU!!

Awesome news!!!
Big thx for the feedback guys! really appreciated!
@Seregin:
Yes, I noticed the one frame white flash from time to time. I am yet to identify the cause of this. I looked through the verbose log and put the debugger on it (to see if I am somehow missing a FBO blit/copy and just presenting a black frame (it should be black not white if this happens). But everything runs smooth.) Plus I also had tried the wrapper on other games and I haven't seen this issue at all... Which means: Sometimes the game engine generates that frame or is found in the main FBO which I copy to my DX FBOs to present.
Currently I don't have any other ideas. Since it happens sometimes (and the wrapper code is executed like 120 times per second) and not every time and only in this game I doubt the wrapper has an issue. Most likely the problem is elsewhere. Since it appears to be random I decided not to dig into this currently;))
Regarding the 3D Vision start:
Actually there are 2 reg values:)
StereoDefaultOn
StereoDefaultONSet
Setting both of them to 0 will start the game with 3D Vision disabled and can be enabled with CTRL+T(default key bind) ;))
Hope this helps;)
Cheers! and enjoy SOMA in "Tru3D" :)

Thanks, Helifax. However, that doesn't do the trick... Both variables are 0, but SOMA starts with all 3D glory enabled... :D Regarding that phantom frame - it's not that big deal, really. Just wanted to know if it happens to others too :)

Damn...
Am I the only one who struggles to make SOMA run flawlessly on SLI system? :( I thought, that game runs good for me. I see eye-sync artefacts here and there, but overall it's was OK. So I thought. Until yesterday evening. When absoletely out-of-nowhere SOMA started to work just FLAWLESSLY. It was OMG moment for me! It became SILKY smooth. But today I've started the game just to find out that magic is gone... After what I've experienced yesterday I can't play it now... :(((((
The sync issue is quite interesting, really. I've found a place in Theta where Steam reports 120 FPS. So, performance question is of the table. Now, when I start strafing ~1 meter left/right (with A/D), my left eye is silky smooth, but not the right one. For the right eye objects move erratically with HUGE stutter. Therefore overall perception of game isn't good at all...
After an hour of fruitless messing with configuration, I've probably tried virtually every possible combination of in-game and wrapper settings. Tried even to redirect Physx to CPU and changing SLI mode to Alternate Frame 1, but nothing did a slightest change... Also tried eliminating all background applications, disabling antivirus, run game without Steam - all the same...
I have quite a capable and recent system with only 2 days old Windows 10 Home 64-bit installation with latest (and the only) nVidia drivers. I just can't think of anything that could cause my issue... :(((
Any ideas anyone? If there is anyone who play SOMA with perfect sync on SLI system - what is your global settings in nVidia Control Panel?
Thanks.
P.S. Please, excuse me for my whines...

Yupp,
I am playing the game in SLI and Surround. (Although 3D Surround acts a bit different than a SLI/Single screen) but I have never ever seen this issue where one eye is OK and the other lags like hell... except lately with any driver above 355.60. But this is on single GPU configs...
Did you try to reboot your PC or reinstall the drivers?
Try the 355.60 driver and see if this helps.
If issue is still the same we can investigate further. :)

Hey, Helifax :) Thanks for quick reply! At least I know what to try next :) Will report soon...
EDIT: I hate to say that, but 355.60 didn't make any difference. Things exactly as they were with latest driver. I've tried to film right-eye "performance" with iPhone's Slo-Mo mode (240 FPS). It looks like s*it, but close to the end of video you can notice that image "jumps" (I move mouse with constant speed). This is what I'm talking about. If you need any more details - just let me now. Also, I don't want you to start digging just for me. Do it ONLY if YOU are insterested yourself, at least a bit...
P.S. Just in case I attach nVidia system information.

Thanks, Helifax. However, that doesn't do the trick... Both variables are 0, but SOMA starts with all 3D glory enabled... :D Regarding that phantom frame - it's not that big deal, really. Just wanted to know if it happens to others too :)
Thanks again. Expect some more beer ;)

That is very strange. Have no idea why it doesn't work honestly:( I tried it and is working correctly for me.
In any case I am really glad everything is working nice;)
Big thanks for the beer;)) I really need one:))
Cheers!!!
Really happy that we can now experiment this game in pure/proper stereo 3D. The stereo in this game really adds a lot to the experience! I am still amazed by the environment and the results;))
Really glad that I was able to help!
