Deus Ex (doesn't work) even though it's listed as compatible
Has anyone been able to solve this? I can't get any separation in Deus Ex (the first one, not the crapty one) at all. Doesn't matter what I do - no separation, even though it's listed as a compatible game.

Been a while since I played DX, but I recall being able to select the render mode on first boot. Be sure you choose Direct3D rendering instead of software or OpenGL. That should solve your problems.

Direct3d by default doesn't work. Neither do the modified and improved dx8 and dx9 renderers.

120hz, FSAA off, AA off, 1280x720, volumetric lighting and coronos on or off and any combination thereof doesn't matter.

Is 1280x720 your desktop resolution? I remember reading that the game render resolution needed to match the desktop resolution for some silly reason.

Yeah, in this case I'm running 1280x720 as desktop res. Can run any res I want, though - ain't CRTs great?

Still haven't figured it out, and I don't expect to.
