I thought they were no performance hit because i thought the 3DTV did the work. Like for example those Samsung or Sony 3DTV that does conversion of anything you throw at them...DVD's, television etc.. I thought they had the technology inside and that's what separate them from those monitor we have on our PC.

But when i think of it Wipeout HD was indeed crop down to 720p 30FPS from a native 1080p 60FPS. Was probably the case for Motorstorm too. Or was it because of the limitation of the PS3 HDMI1.3?

Anyway im will pick up the PC version and probably end up playing on my 50'' panasonic in 720p.

I have seen that on Avatar also, another game with perfect 3D that did not have the 3D Vision logo.

On a side note, convergence is locked in the game as default. To unlock it, look for the config.cfg folder inside the player folder in the game directory under Steam. Look for the setting seta r_use_driver_convergence and change the "0" to "1".

The 3D in the game seems to work as well as it did on BC2 before they broke the crosshair.

Dude, you're confusing stuff, the 2D-3D conversion that 3D TV's have is not the kind of 3D effect you want for games, movies whatever. It's just a cheap effect to help selling 3DTV's in a time with little real 3D content.
You can convert any 2D source to 3D using the conversion feature without any losing performance, but believe me dude, it sucks, it's lame effect.

The 3D technology used in consoles like Xbox and PS3 is based on HDMI 1.4 frame packing format, the same used for 3DTV Play, the software that provides 3D in a large screen for us 3D Vision users.
So, off course there's a hit for enabling 3D, and considering consoles are in the limit of their capacities, you can expect less frames, filters, resolution and more pixelized scenarios to make the game playable in 3D.

Arioch,

Thank you very much for the hint about how to enable convergence for COD Black Ops. I thought this would be another game like Mafia 2 and RE5, which are impossible to adjust convergence with 3D Vision. Its funny though that first person shooter games like COD and Metro 2033, convergence doesn't play a big role and usually makes aiming a lot more complicated, cause you can get yours eyes crossed and have a hard time shooting at your enemies, considering every weapon aims different, so it's a hard time to adjust convergence. Anyway there's the possibility for the end user to enable convergence and play a bit with it.
Now, 3rd person games like Mafia 2 and RE5, convergence definatelly plays a big role and makes the game a lot more interesting in 3D. Even so, they have it locked for no reason, and the end user doesn't have an option to enable the feature and that's just sad.
