Thinking of buying a new display
I have a ASUS VG278H which I have been using for a long time. Like my older Benq XL2410T both run at 120hz 1080p. I've just tried running my ASUS in 3DTVPlay mode 720p and I got a lot more frames in Witcher 3 just by reducing the resolution. Hardly surprising. In the age of 4K I'm looking for a replacement with 4K, HDR and 3D. Found one such TV with passive 3D. There is no native support for 1080p60 3D. We have 720p60 frame packed, Top and bottom, Side by side, checkerboard and interlaced options all of them with about half the resolution of 1080p. I've heard of EDID hacks to play interlaced which is probably best with a passive display. Not really sure how to pull it off but one thing is true it requires rendering at massive resolution probably making the performance unplayable on my setup. I mean it's 2,5 years old. Not sure if it is rendering at full 4K stereo resolution or basically 4K resolution with interlaced pattern baked in. My guess is the former. 1080p is scaled by a factor x2 and 720 is scaled by a factor x3 so there should be no problem scaling the image from 1080p and 720p framepacked. I found 720p60 to be pretty good probably because I was no longer struggling with framerate. 3DTV has been around for ages but there is still no solution for 1080p60 and I no longer hold my breath for it to happen. I'll have to wait a long time as 4K HDR 3DTVs are not cheap. I know a lot of people play in 720p60 on either a projector or TV and I am happy to know more about the experience both from people with native 720p and TV users with full HD displays. My impression is that 720p should scale better onto 4K resolution than it does onto 1080p.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?

Since you play CSGO in 2D, over 90% of the time, why not get that 240Hz monitor. It's a step down in size, but it will up anyone's game provided that they have decent skill to begin with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQY8hSZ9xNE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fi_CSF-Nedo#t=470.252379
