NVIDIA 3D Vision bundle vs iZ3D ?
Hi, anyone has the possibility to give feedback on both systems running , let's say, the same games ?

- Which one is the best also considering costs ?
- What about ghost on both?
- Which driver run faster ?
- What about technical support ?
- Future perspectives on both system ?
- Pro and cons for each one ?

Which is definitively the one to consider for buying ?

I unfortunately do not own the iZ3D solution, but I will answer to the best of my experiences with NVIDIA's 3D Vision and what I have read in reviews and seen in forums like these.

3D Vision is definitely the more expensive solution right now if you are starting from scratch at $400 for the monitor and $200 for the shutter glasses and emitter bundle. However, if you already own a 3DVision ready screen (certain DLPs, 100Hz+ CRTs, projectors and 120Hz LCDs), then its just $200 for the glasses. The iZ3D solution is $400 for the monitor and $10 (I believe) for a pair of polarized glasses. With iZ3D, you are restricted to using that 22" (a 24" model is on the way) screen for your 3D gaming, while NVIDIA 3D Vision can be used on a different range of screens.

I think ghosting is an issue on both solutions, and both companies are working to resolve these issues.

I'm not too familiar with both solutions' driver structures, but it seems NVIDIA's solution works much closer to the display driver's rendering path than iZ3D's, and although this theoretically should give better performance than iZ3D's, reviews will give you a much better idea. Both will have performance penalties though.

I can't speak for iZ3D's tech support, but when I had the flashing issue with my first set of 3DVision glasses, NVIDIA's tech support was very helpful in answering my questions and getting back to me, and sending the defective model back in for a replacement was a breeze.

A lot of the old-timers here are very wary of NVIDIA given their track record of dropping support for older 3D tech and never providing promised drivers updates, etc. In its current state however, 3D Vision is receiving decent support from the NVIDIA team, and hopefully when they do drop support, it will be because they are releasing a newer and better 3D solution. I am hearing good things about iZ3D though, but you will have to ask the opinion of someone who owns that solution for what they think.

A specific con for me with iZ3D is that the monitor uses two inputs, so both outputs are your video card are occupied, disallowing dual displays. SLI also does not work with iZ3D. A pro is that you do not need to purchase expensive glasses if you want more people to view 3D content, as each additional polarized glass is fairly cheap. Also, depending on your own eye sensitivity, you might like polarized displays better rather than shutter-based stereoscopic 3D. A con against NVIDIA's is that it will only work with NVIDIA cards. ATI owners are out of luck with this solution.

Check out mtbs3d.com. Go to the articles menu then click on game reviews.

There are quite a few games reviewed here and the reviewers usually give some information on how the game reacts in s3d with Nvidia and iz3d solutions.

Well with IZ3D the support is faster because they are alot smaller. I did own the IZ3d I liked there drivers better but with their monitor the ghosting is awful in everything, the 2d (desktop) is not sharp. Nvision is just WOW if you could have both side by side you would say Nvidia has NO ghosting compared to Iz3d. But they (IZ3D) are coming out with a 26" monitor soon and if it were me I would go ask when this will be launched and you might want to just wait till then. Iz3d are coming out with new glassed to help with ghosting yet its still there. Both have there problems yet for ME.. ME.. Nvidia wins hands down. But go read Iz3d forums.. ask them questions they will no lie to you they are great guys. Just make sure you can return ANYTHING you buy. Buy it and see for your self. Because my views are just MINE. Others love iz3d.

But you would be saving like what almost 1/2 if you go the Iz3d but for me buying Nvision was the better choice.

Yeah, when that iz3d 26" monitor comes out, given the glasses are good, I might be able to give you the comparison you're looking for... :D
