This game has the potential to be one of the better 3d vision games out there but unfortunately it suffers from shadows rendering at wrong depth. I have tried adjusting settings but to no avail.
Hopefully nvidia fix this or one of the very talented users from this forum...

Again a sad story. Tried it with different settings and also DX9 and dx11 with no luck. Seems that the deferred rendering engine Far Cry 3 is using, causes lighting and shadows are totally off. No hope it can be fixed until the devs do so. And I doubt they will, since its an amd supported game and almost no one with amd hardware is into stereo3d.

I guess our only hope is that the community can fix it.
What a bummer - the game looks great and has a large sandbox for long gameplay.
*edit* Have you tried using different profiles for the game like for Far Cry 2 maybe? The game won't unlock on Steam for me for another week or I would try it myself.

WTF are these devl and nvidia up to, it's a damn shame so many new big games dont have 3d vision.
I bought this great Asus 27 with 3d vision 2 glasses and now more and more games are unplayable!
Feel your pain as this is unexceptable. Well heres hoping that Oculus Rift will be a succes!

Nvidia seems to have strongly diminished support of PC gaming, especially working directly with developers. I cannot think of a single blockbuster which was Nvidia branded this year. Deus ex, Sleeping dogs, Hitman absolution, FC 3 all part of AMD gaming evolved Programm now.
Only exception that comes to mind is Batman, probably because of the inclusion of Physics.
There were some good 3D games but only by accident (skyrim) or by the fixes Helix provided.
Andrew has competely vanished from this forum, this can be seen as a further indication of what is going on.
Hopefully the issues can be fixed otherwise I don't really know.

@BadOne!
Yeah so it seems, what a shame as I have used only nvidia gfx cards for a long time now. Had some great ATI (AMD) I mean :D cards as the hmmm 9700 I think the name was, I really liked the cards but had problems with them, well you know ****** drivers and so but never had any problem whatsoever with nvidia!
Dont know for the future thou if this will continue then maybe I will shift side as they seems to get better and better support for Pc Gaming!
Damn nVidia get you act together NOW!

Another good example of complete Nvidia-absense.
Kinda frustrating though: Not getting any info from them on these forums (yes Andrew, thats directed towards you) is way worse than getting some negative piece of information.
But once again the big green giant stands quiet.

I do not think it's Nvidia to blame in this case. The 3d hype in industry is over and the devs at ubisoft decided to save some money in not supporting this feature. The amd folks ignore 3d because their customers don't care. They are all "flatgamers".
If you want to get an idea, how FC3 could look in 3d: set stereo depth to almost zero (two green bars) and push convergence(f6) until the weapon pops right into your face. It's not the real thing
(I normally play with 100% separation) but I played Crysis this way 5 years ago.
*edit* low separation settings ingame: Dx11, shadows low, ambient occlusion = ssao, crosshair off all other settings as you like

@Zeyed64: Actually I think it is - 3D Vision 2 isn't that old and completly abandoning the product could be seen as a slap in the face of the customers who actually spent a lot of money to buy a decent kit.
Also..Nvidia pays quite a bit of money so they can get their fancy "Nvidia - the way its meant to be played" logo into games - why not just fork over a little bit more cash and get the devs or publishers or whoever is in charge to support 3DV?
Least they could do is man up, get their heads out of the sand and come forward and say something like "Sorry, we fucked up there - things will be better again" or "We arent spending any more cash to support it" or anything really but being totally ignored is the worst option they can choose.
How expensive can one single Nvidia-post be?

I agree. What I can't say right now is which brand my next graphic card will be. With 3d vision forgotten by Nvidia, physx lack of use, I may have to think twice about which card will I get next since Nvidia cards lately add nothing versus AMD. If we get to the worst possible scenario, no dx11 wrapper, no 3d vision support from developers, no marketing for 3d by Nvidia, for the first time in many years I would think on getting AMD cards in my next upgrade.

Made 3 screenshots.
Only the one with low separation has acceptable shadows but lacks -of course- in terms of depth and shows toyification.
Low separation works better with dx11.

I install the game about 1 hour ago and the game have the nexts issues:
- Shadows (very very bad)
- Lights (very bad)
- Some lensflares (bad)
- Crosshair 2D
- Target icons 2D
(Try the game in dx9 mode and helix wrapper)
i dont want to be the guy with the bads news... but i think this game can only be fixed by Helix......i try to do some stuff and change profiles, but shadows/lights are to bad (and the game have a lot of them)...and when you save shaders (dump folder), shaders have none "parameters" and "register" info....so you dont have any info. :(
