3D Big Screen for App Rift Owners
There's a free app on the Occulus Store called Big Screen Beta. It has SBS and Over Under 3D modes. It works pretty well I just watched some SBS Youtube vids on it

It's awesome! An update was just released that brings a hulking dynamically lit IMAX-like theater environment into the app. SBS 3D videos on the screen look amazing. I own many 3D blu ray movies and have ripped nearly all of them to SBS mp4 format using DVDFab. Watching them in 3D using BigScreen VR is virtually the same as seeing them with 3D glasses in a movie theater. BigScreen VR is also available on Steam for HTC Vive users (and Oculus Rift users running Steam VR). This is my favorite app for the Oculus Rift. If you own the Rift or Vive, it's a must have. And it's incredibly free of charge! You can play games in this as well though I haven't tried that yet. I prefer to play 3D games directly on my 27 inch monitor and 3D Vision.

I'm getting pretty high CPU usage on my setup, so playing games on the big movie theater would be out of the question. But it's an amazing app for watching video. Vive BTW. Even Youtube videos are very impressive to me. It really does look like a massive theater (and an OLED one at that). I'm not a huge fan of the dedicated VR devices with integrated CPU/GPU, but in the future, I could totally see myself preferring to watch movies/sports in a virtual theater instead of on a TV screen. Even with current resolutions, I still think it's awesome.

Ps. tried Alien Isolation + mod & CV1 yesterday, scary as hell :)

Nearly all the games I play in 3D are from Steam. I have the Oculus Rift but love using SteamVR for all the cool environments you can be in plus great Steam only VR games such as The Lab. Big Screen VR is also available on Steam. I wonder if running it from SteamVR would make 3D gaming work in Big Screen. Regardless, I still prefer playing 3D games on my 27 inch monitor. When sitting close to it it's as big a screen as I need for gaming.

Hey Guys, I finally got into VR, received my Oculus Rift + Touch bundle summer sale yesterday and I am loving it! It exceeded my expectations! The hype for VR was gone for me for a while after using the Gear VR and testing a few crap Rift Demos in a kiosk, I didn't really like the experience, so I wasn't expecting much of a wwwoooowww sort of reaction, but Maaannnn when the setup demo on the Oculus Rift started! That blew me away!!! It was probably one of the best feelings I had like in gaming and entertainment in general, it's been ages I don't get that excitement like a kid! Immediately purchased Lone Echo, and geezzzzzz this game is such an experience. I hope we could get 3D Vision games to work with Rift at some point, the resolution won't be as good but I think it could be a good alternative for people that don't own a 3D screen and in some cases might also be a good option to completely eliminate crosstalk, like in my case there is a bit of crosstalk depending on the game on my LG TV.
