Resolution in RBR? No problem. You only need to edit your "RichardBurnsRally.ini". It's located in the game directory.
[Settings]
ConstantForceMultiplier = -60
Depth = 32
ForceFeedback = true
Fullscreen = true
MinDepthBits = 24
MinStencilBits = 8
ParticleQuality = high
RenderCarShadow = true
RenderQuality = high
RunIntro = false
RunStartup = false
Sound = true
UseCubicEnvironmentMaps = true
UseEAX = true
UseSoftwareAudio = false
UseTripleScreenBuffers = true
WaitRetrace = true
XRes = 1920
YRes = 1080
You only need to set XRes = 1360 and YRes = 768.
And for the correct 16x9 aspect-ratio you need to install the CamHack-tool. Links and Instructions ar in the first post.
Thank you so much :) I am going to give it a shot and back to racing :)

Nice post! great to see i'm not the only one playing RBR in 3d, actually RBR was one of the main reasons why i decided to get a Nvidia 3d vision kit in the first place, a bit of a gamble really as it's not mentioned on NV's compatible list.

As you noted before, attempting to play RBR on a keyboad is a quick way to getting frustrated, as RBR's physics model is based on simulation.
Also you would be missing out on one of the best features that RBR offers which is Force Feed Bk.
Being an old git and avid simulation racer, comparng the FFB to other well known SIM title icon;s like: Rfactor and GTR2 to name a few. RBR trumps them all imo. Mostly due to what RBR has to simulate eg: tarmac, gravel, Snow etc.
Hitting a pot hole in a Subaru @ 160km on gravel will quickly humble the most aggressive petrol-head amongst us. RBR is freakishly realistic when you have a steering wheel attached to your pc and to play it any other way would be cutting the RBR experience in half.

Released in 2004, RBR is still held in high regard in the sim community, some sim sites even claim RBR as the no'1 simulation title of all time due to it's realistic physics model.
If your expecting Dirt2 like game-play forget about it! the mindset here is simulation, that means just the essentials.. you the car the road the trees and the clock, there are animations but nothing that will choke your video card to death. Bells and whistles are kept to a minimum.
I've had fun with titles like CMR2, NFS shift, Sony WRC's, Grid, Dirt 1/2, PS GT's, various PC Sim titles and most recently F12010 all great titles but i always come bk to RBR nothing beats it for sheer pant's crapping sense of speed, going down the narrow mountain road's in France @ 140km is out of it!

I thought this game was great in 2d, but 3D has taken it to a whole'nada level, you won't be disappointed!
You can pickup RBR on ebay/amazon etc for next to nothing these days and when your done with the standard RBR game you might want to get acquainted with a huge MOD pkg called 'RSRBR 2010' there are to many things to mention here about this MOD, but the mod is administered/supported by a huge rally simulation community and widely used for online competition, that's right this mod allows online competition, this was not a feature in the original game. Now you can compare your times and splits with real people in real time.

The RSRBR2010 mod also includes the official game patch's, camhack, 100+ cars, heaps of new tracks and other bells and whistles all in the one MoD Pkg, highly recommended! i haven't played the original RBR since installing the MOD.
The following links are to a video on the RSRBR2010 mod and a link to a SIM community i highly recommend if you wanna take your RBR experience to the next level. There's ton's of info there on improving RBR if your interested, also you will find MOD's like the HDR mod that will give RBR a upto date look with improved colours and contrast etc, a definite must for all 3D users (i find RBR very dull with out it in 3D) and various other guides and tips, see you on the gravel /thumbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thumbsup:' />.

Thanks for the update and I will look into the mod. I need to find a new CD of RBR since mine is starting to crack in the center (getting old). In terms of old games, did anybody heard about an up to date version of GP Legend. This for me was the best F1 (from the 60') simulation ever created. I found a demo that was redone for windows XP since the original would not run on XP, but that is it. I wonder what it would look like in 3D :)

I had the same problem with my TDU-Disc. The problem was the box which was too strong so the disc was under tension all the time. I had luck and got the disc changed in the second year at my local store.
I got my RBR-Disc over Amazon(used one but in good condition) for 6€ + 3€ shipping.

yep, when I bought RBR, I still had an FX5200 in my computer ;), but I agree that I had a hard time taking the DVD out every time. Happened with a couple of other games.

Any idea if somebody came up with the Group B cars for RBR (Delta S4, Audi S1, Lancia 037, etc...). This might have have been the best point for the first colin mcrae :) these cars were the kings of the road back in the 80's.

It seems that www.racersteam.es has a Group B package with an AudiS1 but the whole site is spanish.
There should have been a download on www.bhmotorsports.com too, but this forum is down.
