Unlucky for me. And many others, who were told, by email, that this driver would be released in April.

Surely there are problems with 3D Surround and i don't believe the performance will be good even with GTX480 SLI. With only single display i am having performance problems with new games. I have GTX480 SLI. First of all we must have stabil drivers for 3D. I am loosing my fate with nvidia and also till i learned that 3d Vision Surround will only be available with a software (like softhTH) how can we expect stabil drivers and good performance. It's all about marketing and show business for nvidia after 200x series. If someone can sue NVIDIA because of writing April release for these drivers i bet he/she gonna win. I can't sue them because i am in a country that no Nvidia officials are represent.

Sorry but i think nvidia fails with this DX11 genre for now. I think ATI fired their ex workers and NVIDIA hired them ... :)

in case you have not yet noticed nVidia is great at overpromising and under delivering - they have a track record. Unfortunately I also keep falling for this and am really disappointed to have 3 acer screens of which i only use one for gaming now.

Me,too having 3 acer monitors waiting and dusting. I am desperate to sue Nvidia :) , like someone did for PS3 and get his money. (removing anotherOS option)

This is one reason I am still running my 285s and I only have one Acer/ and one Samsung. I'm sorry for you guys who decided to get 3 Acers for 3d sorround, the wait just keeps on getting longer and longer. But my question is this, how many new games on the new 400 series in sli can you max out in 3d with the full 60frames per second per eye on one screen now? I don't see 3d sorround yielding 60frames per second per eye on a 5760X1080 resolution format with most of the additional features turned on. I pray I am wrong.

Well I'm sure you have to make trade-offs. Why would anyone expect to be able to play at maximum settings at 60fps? I can't even do that with one monitor with 2x gtx 480's. So you're going to have to lower some settings to get decent fps in surround, I would think. What's wrong with that?

I run Flight Sim X at 30fps and its perfect. You would not see any noticeable difference between 30 and 60frames. Nvidia demo'd 3D surround at Cebit so it must work. There may be an issue with the 200 series cards though.

they were scheduled to release in april. doesnt mean they would come out by then.
theres a million games getting released way past their scheduled release dates (some even canceled outta nowhere, alan wake comes to mind).

now ull probably come in here throwing stones at me but seriously, pretty much like every other piece of hardware/software out there, its always better to wait then to rush a purchase. drivers arent easy to code and unless u want another GPU frying (or worse) driver set i sugest u wait patiently.

once again, even the new date says "scheduled" which doenst mean "will come out even if we have to sacrifice 100 virgins to the devil".

in the end, consumers could've picked up the hardware later and get better availability, possibly lower costs, most likely better drivers and pretty much 100%* less complaints (*humans are never happy, ppl will complain regardless).

Seriously, you cannot tell when a game is going at 60 or 30?

Well, I prefer to have a driver a bit late, but working stable enough, than to have it immediately and have a ton of issue with it ;)

If you have a game pushing out 40fps (not software caped) per eye in 3d on one screen 1920X1080 with all the eye candy on, how much better do you think you will get with 3 monitors in 3d pushing out 5760X1080? 30fps per eye would be wonderful in this case.

Of course for older games that you can maintain 60fps per eye that are caped by the Vsync then you may get your 60fps per eye on all 3 monitors.

30fps per eye isn't bad once the frame rate isn't spiking or dipping regularly.

Oh I did not say 30 is bad, I love Metro and as you may know, you better get use to low FPS running Metro but you I can easily tell 30 from 60.

It depends on what he's flying.
Touring around in a Cessna 172 is so slow that the framerate could be 10 fps, you wouldn't notice the difference.
Jump in the Extra 300S aerobatic aircraft and you instantly see you got a problem.

No, in fact the delays I think reinforced that. It could very well turn into vaporware.

I doubt it will become vaporware because Nvidia would face a very big class action lawsuit, which they would lose, if they did.

My guess is they were intending to release in April, but a last minute unforeseen problem was discovered in the candidate drivers and now they are stuck working to fix it at the expense of bad publicity.

I'm sure the feature will get release, just later than sooner. It's the thing about being an early adopter w/ "bleeding edge technology."
