Maggi, I want only the mirror and the glasses. I have a 19" TFT monitor and I have plans to buy another one.

whooops ... sorry for missing that part ... :o

anyways, polarized glasses are also available from that product page under "accessories", but maybe even at a local optician in your home town could get some for you ?

as for such a semi transparent polarizing mirror, I have no idea where to get those, but it shouldn't hurt to ask the guys from planar.com whether they could offer to sell a mirror on its own

Cheers,
Maggi

You can not just get the mirror and glasses and use (2) 19" LCDs of your own.

The planar display utilizes two 17" LCD displays and the mirror (in the middle) which can be moved up and out of the way for 2D work.

The complete system is patented.

Redline, I don´t understand.
Are you saying that it is impossible to find this mirror in 19" size because it is only made in 17"?.
I suppose that the displays are the same than any other TFT, with nothing special. And I suppose that with my two 19" TFT displays and a mirror of 19" size I can do it. Only I need to make a base to support the monitors in this angle, and put the mirror in the middle. Isn´t right?.

Why I can´t get the mirror and glasses?. Why you say "the complete system is patented"?.... I´m not going to sell it... I want to make for me.

The mirror is just an ordinary semi-transparent mirror (also known as a beam splitter or one way glass). The bigest problem I saw to setting this system up was making the frame for it.

Also, planar are working on a larger wide screen version last time I checked.
