What about 3D drivers for XP new driver supports only vista
Hey! Why do the new drivers support only vista? What about the majority of gamers who are still using XP? Is Nvidia trying to do favors to ms by trying to force us to downgrade to vista /thumbsdown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I don’t want to scare off the normal people who have been taking an interest in us lately but please, please understand what we are talking about BEFORE you correct us.
Last I check (and you have no idea how much I would love to be wrong on this), the new stereo drivers are vista only

sorry guys i was confused by the OP saying "Hey! Why do the new drivers support only vista?" i saw drivers and assumed he meant just generic drivers, not stereo.
right well seeing as vista is the current OS, they obviously make it for that first, i suspect they will come out for xp too. also their high end cards support directx 10 which isnt on XP so they have another reason to create them for vista.
you do have to move with the times and upgrade eventually, and like any company nvidia would prefer it if every1 moved on and didnt cling to an old OS so they only had to support the latest current one.

Vista is not the current os in the world the vista usage has barely touched 10% of all os.
XP is still the predominant os.
Vista still has many issues. many people i know uninstalled vista from their systems and installed XP. /whistling.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />

Screw "make it for Vista first", the problem is that there hasn't been a stereo driver for 2 years (if you discount leaked betas on other sites).
And after that 2 years the only working system is for a $600+ monitor and anaglyph only? Not to mention the cost of Vista.
So we buy a $150-300 8800/9600/9800 video card, then a $600 monitor, and then shell out for vista?
JUST TO GET DRIVERS?!?!?!?
Seriously, come on. What if you have a few hundred already invested in a very nice 3D rig (Head mounted display, Dual Polarized Projectors, DLP shutterglasses, direct-view dual system), a very smooth capable and clean XP machine, and you want better performance than offered by the top of the line 7 series card?
YOU HAVE BEEN SCREWED OVER!!
Instead of spending $100-150 to get an 8800GS or 9600GT (after rebate at newegg.com), you are facing a ridiculous compounding of costs. A complete new stereo rig, Vista OS, that is another $700-900 above and beyond the cost of just the video card.
I am guessing you don't play in real 3D? Maybe you don't get what it is all about. (and no, regular shutters and anaglyph are not real 3D, I use a passive polarized dual DVI LCD system with 1280x1024 for each eye, and it cost me ~$250 to set up, and works great, just not at all with my freaking 8800GT, so I had to sell it and hold onto my 7900 card. :( :( )

going to vista is an upgrade, it is a much better operating system than xp
