Just got to a section where you have to fight a number of goons up on Central Station Tower. The game became unplayable due to massive, long hitches as you fly/move around. Often of several seconds. Finally it just hung, had to reboot.
I'm guessing it didn't like being able to see large parts of the city as I turn and look different directions.
It was fun up until now, had some hitching issues but I could look past them for the other parts of the game, but this is unbearable.
Getting a refund.
In the meantime, might replay Arkham City and will buy Arkham Origins. They have proper 3D Vision support anyway.

Performance issues might be related to the fact that you all have changed your game profile to get CM to kick in. I am playing with original one and have no issues at all.
Also trying to enforce original profile to kick in with CM doesn't work Helifax. I`ve added this command line: "Setting ID_0x709adada = 0x07f58257 InternalSettingFlag=V0" and nothing. CM won`t start.
Is there another one we can try with ?

Maybe, too late to tell since I've already gotten my refund. But since I have no interest in playing this game in 2D, that suits me fine.
I don't know why nvidia disabled CM mode on this game. It's mostly a simple last instant post-process, nothing to do with 99.9999% of the rendering chain. I find it difficult to believe it could cause problems. So too bad for WB if me having to change the profile is what caused the issue. Nvidia and WB can blame themselves for not supporting 3D Vision. (And WB in particular for treating ports with such utter contempt.)

When adding the Setting ID_0x709adada flag check the profile as it already have a "dummy" 709adada flag. Delete the one wich come by default and add the flag at the end of the profile. After that i need reimport each time i reboot the computer, don't know why...
With the flag and PHSYX OFF (Other Gameworks ON), Shadows Medium, 1080p, It's very playable ( to stay under 4 GB VRAM use -970 SLI here-).... a few slow downs with UMBRA's culling when on batmobile and flying... but playable.
Little TIP Disable alliasing ! Or you will lost A LOT of detail on lights, rain and texture definition, worst FXAA Bluring ever.

Dorkirt - you right, there was a one like this with different another command line. Erasing this and putting the right one worked great. Thanks mate.
The funny thing is that this Compatibility Mode is actually made for Arkham Knight - it shows rating as "Good". They probably will activate this in further release.
I`ve also noticed that AA issue but I guess that is how it works. I always force FXAA in Nvidia menu anyway. Looks better and performance impact is much smaller.
Still waiting for Helifax to answer my question about that profile "resetting" himself after rebooting. Had that issue with Witcher 3 profile where you have to change every line to get it right in game. I bet that everybody plays that and wonder how da hell that is still not right.

I have no idea why the profile resets. Most likely there is something from the nvidia driver that resets the profiles after reset. I have never encountered this issue...
I think you already tried to DDU you drivers and reinstall them?
In any case instead of always importing the profiles you can make a copy of the whole DRS folder and just swap it... Really no idea... :(

The game is glitchy as hell AND there's no 3D!? I can't believe I am ending up with no inclination whatsoever to buy the new Batman. I enjoyed the first 3 so much, but the 3D was what made it especially memorable. Oh well I'm having fun with that Castlevania game in 3D its pretty cool.
Please don't give up on your thankless and frustrating hobby you 3D patchers, I depend on you!

For those of you who still have some stuttering issues. Play with this memory management settings.
Go to:
\your Steam folder\SteamApps\common\Batman Arkham Knight\BMGame\Config
Open BMEngine.ini
Under [Texture Streaming] make the following changes:
PoolSize=2048
MemoryMargin=256
bAllowSwitchingStreamingSystem=True
Also in BmSystemSettings.ini
Change MaxFPS=30.000000 to MaxFPS=120.000000
Remember to set those files (you`ve changed) to Read Only. Game will reset them every time you restart.

I've preordered this game from Steam and then refunded. Now after the latest patch and good reviews about the patch purchased premium edition again for 20 bucks yesterday.
With 8 GB RAM, GTX 980, core i7 2700k@3.9 it works much much better than the first crap version. There's still minor issues with it but as I said much beter. fps is mostly stable and much higher, rare fps dips when driving but nothing bad, can say solid 60 fps.
Played at max settings for an hour, Nvidia options enabled, blur and film grain disabled. No memory leak so far.
So is there still a hope for a 3D Vision fix?

Bad timing for this game again. Even if it is a great game and perform really good right now - people are focused on other, new games. We got Fallout 4, new Star Wars and Just Cause 3 is about to show up next week.
Also this game proved to be messed up more then everybody expected (in 3D) and working with annoying performance issues didn`t help either - so you can imagine that everybody who worked on it abandoned this after all.

It's really shame that this game had big performance issues. I love Batman Arkham series and I was really excited to play this game on 3D. But Warner had done a big mistake, very bad optimization. Now, I hesitate to buy the game but I think it will not have 3D Vision compatibility. Even after many patches, the game seems to be very unstable in 3D. Thank You Warner...
Fortunately I bought Mad Max, the game is awesome in 3D :)
I cross the fingers for Just Cause 3 and 3D patches. I loved Just Cause 2.
