Once you install the update, a login prompt is the first thing you’ll notice. Nvidia has moved to a user account model for GeForce Experience. The software won’t allow you to do anything until you provide credentials. Nvidia gives you multiple options for logging into GeForce Experience: You can create a free GeForce account, or you can log in with Google or Facebook credentials.
If you don’t want to log in, you can skip GeForce Experience, but you’ll have to download your driver updates manually, and you’ll miss out on the giveaways--Nvidia plans to give out beta access to games, final release game codes, and hardware out to members at random. This month, Nvidia has MSI VR-Ready laptops and HTC Vives up for grabs.

Geforce experience also stops your Logitech steering wheel being detected in dirt rally.
Took me a few installs to work that GeForce experience was the culprit.
Thanks for those wasted hours Nvidia, using your buggy root kit.
Why would I want to sign in for gfx driver updates anyway?
Nvidia have gone crazy.
They could have used this time for something constructive.....

Which version of the Logitech software are you using? I still have an old G27 and a G940 on their 5.10.127 profiler, so I'm wondering if this'll be something I have to worry about when I use them again.

The GFE Beta was like this for quite a while now;)
I don't mind having to log-in (Already have an account for ages there...lol)
Also, I didn't have any problems with it disabling other peripherals, but I am not wild on those;)
I do love Share's FPS counter as is the most reliable one though;) (And doesn't crashes or prevent gamas from starting like other Overlays do).
(One thing to note.... Do not enable "Instant Replay" if you run 2D/3D Surround as it will put your FPS very low ^_^ Single Screen is OK. You can still run the FPS counter in Surround. Just don't enable "Instant Replay" ^_^)
Seems to work perfectly fine on my desktop and laptops;)

Asus Maximus XI Hero Mobo.
16 GB Team Group T-Force Dark Pro DDR4 @ 3600.
Lots of Disks:
- Raid 0 - 256GB Sandisk Extreme SSD.
- Raid 0 - WD Black - 2TB.
- SanDisk SSD PLUS 480 GB.
- Intel 760p 256GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD.

How do I use my current gforce experience without installing the new one. I need to turn shadowplay on but I keep getting prompted to install the 3.0 version. Any idea where the installer is located?

Good to hear that the overlay works well and doesn't cause any extra issues.

GFE is of no use for 3D Vision users like us, there is still no options to select if we want to records in 3D or in 2D and I've been asking this for over 2 years already.
Another sign they don't care of 3D Vision anymore.

At a guess - so they can contact you for prizes. Though I don't know why they don't give you the option to opt out of the prizes and not log in, if that's the case. Maybe for the stream sharing??

Can't remember the software version but I have the Logitech G920 wheel and Windows 10.
The wheel is detected in other games just not dirt rally when GeForce experience is installed.
I've also read it stops some plugins in after effects from working too.
I ain't got time for that shit.
The benefits of GeForce experience aren't worth the woes it seems.

On this note. I have been thinking about recording some of my Fighting game matches especially with the fixed netcode that's due to come out for Mkx.
Have you found any workaround for this at all? Is there a way to have it play in 3d but record in 2d?
Or is their an alternative will OBS do it? How does Shadowplay currently act?

I've read problems like this
get errors like this when GeForce experience is installed.
"After Effects error: plug-in "Element.aex" could not be loaded (126). (48::46)"
What the hell is this software doing which disables plugins and steering wheels?

I could have sworn someone (IIRC, I think it was Helifax) posted a way to record video using shadowplay, and to upload to Youtube or stream on Twitch in S-3D... or maybe I'm just crazy and remembering things I dreamt of! ;)
