That monitor is NOT supported by Nvidia 3D Vision. In order to utilize that monitor in 3D, you would have to use the included glasses and purchase 3DTV Play software. (Not as good as 3d vision)

Also, I'd strongly encourage you to see the 3D in advance, see one in person before buying. 3D glasses that are included tend to be lower quality and you may be disappointed. Look specifically for high contrast images like torches burning in a dark tunnel, or black images on a very bright background.

3D Vision 2 is just a redesign of the glasses. Bigger field of view to work better with bigger monitors like my 27". The big difference is lightboost feature that some monitors have. There is a huge difference between having lightboost in your monitor or not having it.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.

A second 660 in SLI would be a significant benefit, just FYI.

You want a minimum of 100 2D FPS in games to use 3D [50 fps 3D]. A single 660 or EVEN SLI 660's will not get you there even in games up to this date. Let alone past today. I think you might need to hold down till you get a bigger budget. Going into 3D on a mediocre display/ low end video card will be a headache.

I was running SLI 660s up until a few weeks ago. I upgraded because I wanted better performance, but 660s should handle most modern games at decent framerates - you might just have to drop a few quality settings. Even a single 660 should be enough for something as demanding as Tomb Raider at medium-low settings.

Going SLI on cards and being able to handle only most current games is a real bad idea. Your committing to last generation.

But, when you don't have the money, you just don't. I agree with eqzitara's assessment of performance, but with the caveat of "what do you want to play?" You won't be able to have a good experience in Metro Last Light, or Tomb Raider, but you can play older games easily enough. I'd still rather play in 3D even if I have to skip modern games. Let us know what games you are interested in, and we can give you a more accurate assessment.

I played Metro Last Light on Medium-high settings on my SLI 660s with pretty solid framerates. If you have the budget it's worth upgrading to better cards, but 660s will get the job done for now at least.
