for some reason, I've the latest version of the game as well as the latest drivers and STILL 3d is broken. And get this - to top it all off, it worked the first time I tried it, then when I loaded a savegame BOOM shadows aren't stereo.
Not sure if its this but make sure you have turned your 3D on before you load your game. If you load a game without 3D on and then turn it on once you are in game the shadows and lights will be broken.

I had this happened before and had to disable 3D in Nvidia control panel then re-enable it and just ran thru the whole process of qualification for 3D again. That fixed it. Fundamentally, what I did was to restart the 3D service. Hope this help.

awesome! I just bought this game.. DLing now!! :D what settings are you guys running the game under the configuration tool? I have a gtx580 superclocked, good cpu etc. Just wondering if certain effects aren't need / hamper the game or don't work well with 3D

Just turn off ubersampling as the frame rate hit isn't worth it. Everything else is just a matter of taste - I turn off all the depth of field settings because I dislike it and don't think there is a need for it when playing in 3D.

okay great, thanks! So blur etc should work fine? I guess I can just test it when I install it. Been creeping on this thread for a few months waiting to see if it was going to get fixed

All visual settings seem to work fine. Personally I have Bloom and Motion Blur disabled. The Bloom is way too bright in this game and eliminates the far detail. The motion blur is really irritating imho.

I've been using these settings which seem to work better for the close up items (not sure about the inside convergence - I'm just starting out in the game - does the tent at the beginning of the game count as inside?)
These settings, used with maximum depth, to me, give a more realistic, cinematic perspective.
These low convergences avoid the "toyification" effect which make the characters and settings look like table top models.
Still provides some pop-out effect.
This method of setting convergence in an .ini file is outstanding and avoids having to adjust on the fly as camera position and perspective changes. Glad we learned about it from a user on this forum. Hopefully future games will adopt this method.
I am playing this game with my somewhat old cpu/mobo and 2xGTX480s in sli, see sig.
Turning ubersampling and SSAO off and setting draw distance to low everything else max (aa on) I get pretty good fps of 38-60 per eye @ 1920x1080. (except prelude to war where fps 24-30)
The visual experience of this game using 3DVision is outstanding.
Plays well with game controller, which allows an enjoyable slow walking that is great, though continously variable velocity should be implemented for a more smoother navigation.
I am using cheathappens trainer to easily shorten combat when I just want to advance through the excellent story.
I have asked for a "bullet time" cheat (or potion)to enjoy the combat in slomo (it looks great when you activate quick menu, but the menu is in the way).
Outstanding!

I am also using low convergence, 0.7. My rig is not all that so I have had to lower res to 1440 900. It still looks good though. I wish there was a way to make environment shadows appear at greater distances.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention I turned off SSAO. This is the first game I own that has such a setting and I gotta say, it's completely retarded! How anyone thinks that having a dark blurry outline around your character is a good thing is beyond me!

Guys, I'm having some lock-up problems. Usually during a fight the game freezes and I have to ctrl+al+del to get to the windows menu, then I press esc and return to the game, which unfreezes. Now if I start the task manager and return the shadows break. Anyway, wanted to ask if anyone else has got such lockups. I have a 560Ti card, 280.26 and 1.35 patch for the game.

Guys, played again for a couple of hours and every 5-10 minutes I got a game freeze. Alt+tab helped, but as I said broke the shadows, which was fixed only through a quickload.
This freezing is quite frustrating (the game just pauzes and doesn't resume until alt+tab or ctrl+alt+del), I even tried re-installing, but with no effect. I thought my GPU could be overheating, so I tried setting the fan speed to a 100% to test, still no results. Has anyone experienced something similar. I am using a couple of mods for the hud, ui and Geralts hair. I've been using them before, but didn't experience such issues.

for some reason, I've the latest version of the game as well as the latest drivers and STILL 3d is broken.

If its not that I have no idea!

awesome! I just bought this game.. DLing now!! :D what settings are you guys running the game under the configuration tool? I have a gtx580 superclocked, good cpu etc. Just wondering if certain effects aren't need / hamper the game or don't work well with 3D

I am using:
ConvergenceClose=0
ConvergenceCutscene=0.5
ConvergenceInside=0.5
ConvergenceOutside=0.5
These settings, used with maximum depth, to me, give a more realistic, cinematic perspective.

Tried these settings and I really agree. Very nice cinematic feel to it. I'll play the rest of the game this way.

Hey, hey, hey, hey-now. Don't be mean; we don't have to be mean, cuz, remember, no matter where you go, there you are.
