Hello. I have been looking around a bit and have not found a solution to my problem. I have a Mitsubishi WD60638. I am still stuck using older drivers 266.xx in order to support a 1792x992 60hz resoultion. This is the only way I have been able to rid myself of my terrible overscan issue. I can resize the desktop in order to see everything. My problem is that at 1920x1080 I lose a lot of the screen in games. Is there any work around to force this resolution/hz in any of the newer drivers? Or even better, does anyone know of other resolutions I could use instead?

Use the 3D Vision DLP hotfix tool. Reboot and resize your desktop in the Nvidia control panel to 1824x1026 or something close. Hit the lock button to maintain a 16:9 ratio. Be sure to use newer drivers. That'll give you 60 hz.

just run the custom re-sized resolution that you create in the Nvidia control panel in the game- IE- the resolutions must match. its still 1080p they just adjust the timings in the drivers. computer timings and tv timings are different, thats why there is a over scan issue. it is a misconception that the re-sized resolution is not 1080p. like i said, the signal timings are different thats all- i run 1824x1026 but its still 1080p signal. i just make sure to run 1824x1026 in the game also to avoid oversccan issues. enjoy! your DLP is still the best 3d tv you can buy today for gaming.

run the new drivers, they are much more stable.

Panasonic VT25 (nice 2d but I returned it due to cross talk)
Acer H5360 720p on 130" screen (the best 3d)
23" Acer LCD monitor (horrible cross talk- sold it)
I have a 73837 DLP.
Older drivers dating from 5/11 and beyond used to work on my display using 1792x992.
I have reported this problem to Nvidia and appears it's gone no where.
I am currently using 1791x991 which seems to work fine with 280.26 driver.
With this resolution i however am losing a bit of real estate all around or at least 1/2 inch on each side of my display screen.

Do this:
1) Undo all your Resized Desktop Resolutions.
2) Set your resolution to it's native: 1920x1080. And let this be the base for your Resized Desktop Resolution.
3) Resize your desktop and making sure the lock is enabled so it only resizes to 16:9 ratio's. If you fit it in, you should be somewhere near 1824x1026 which should give you just about full real estate.
4) This will give you a resized desktop at 60 hz and not 30hz or whatever the 1768x992 is giving you.
Don't resize from 1768x992, start from 1920x1080 and work down from there.

the custom resolutions are fine and good for 2d gaming but what about 3d? when i set to these resolutions i am not sending a proper 3d supported signal. so im back to losing real estate because im forced to run in 1920x1080 to get 3d gaming but 1920x1080 does not fit in my screen.

Yes it will work. You just need the EDID from a Mits DLP 1.3a TV and override your current monitor profile. I have such a TV and such an EDID.
