Hi all ... :0)

I was wondering if anyone in this forum could recommend a FULL HD projector for 3D vision ?

On the Nvidia site all the projectors recommended are only 1280 x 720 ?

Thanks ... :0)

1280 x 720 @ 60
1920 x 1080 @ 24hz -----UNPLAYABLE FOR gaming.

If you dont mind just 1280 x 720 @ 60 hz go with acer 5360
1920 x 1080 @ 24hz go with optoma hd 33

Yep, three years old, and the Acer is still the best option for 3D gaming. You can get them for like ~$450 these days vs $1500 for the 1080p/24hz projectors. Just buy the Acer, and if a 1080p 3D 60hz/eye projector ever arrives in the near future, put the extra money towards that one.

I came across a projector that was full 1920x1080P@120Hz over DVI-D the other day and linked it. Another user pointed out that there were several others as well and that he had one, but that unfortunately Nvidia did not officially support them with the consumer 3D Vision.

These projectors are quite expensive. But for a relatively small amount, a person with some work can setup a dual projector passive rig.

I own an Optoma HD33 myself and am very happy with it. Sure going back from 1080p to 720p feels a step backwards, but for most games the 3D is so amazing, it makes more then up for it.

I am considering a 120hz monitor with vidia Vision for games like Starcraft II and such which cannot be played unless behind a desk. But many games benefit from a 3D projector, there is simply no beating Arkham City in 3D on 100".

Not NVidia's fault on the cheaper <$10K projectors they won't handle 1080P 3D @ > 24Hz.
I'd stick to the 5360 for gaming right now, the newer 1080P projectors all have terrible input lag in 3D, and I own one (BenQ W7000)

Got nothing to do with NVIDIA.

Home Entertainment Systems are on HDMI 1.4 at the moment, the maximum speed/data transfer supported on that media is 1080p at 60hz. As 3D uses double the framerate you are looking at 1080p 30hz tops (24hz in most cases) movies are fine (as they are 24hz in 3D to begin with) but for games you really need 60hz.

DVI or display port supports a maximum of 1080p 120hz, so in 3D you'll get 1080p 60hz. Unfortunately these connections are only on monitors and such (an a few very expensive professional displays/PJs). If you truly want 1080p 3D gaming you will need a Nvidia Vision kit with a 120hz monitor. You can get this around 700USD, but honestly, a PJ, and playing on 100" screen is just too damn cool, even if it's at 720p.

Well it is NVIDIA who hasn't added SBS support, and not all 1080p displays scale 720p that well.

I have an Epson 5010 3D projector, it looks great at 720p. I've tried Trine 2s built in SBS mode @ 1080p and it looked slightly better and I would probably choose it over 720p if it were an option in all games.

I can't understand why it's taking so damn long for Nvidia to add SBS mode feature for 3DTV Play????

So how about 2D gaming and 1080P movies on this DLP ? Will 720P look as blurry as it does on a 1080P PC monitor ?

Im really want to buy this DLP, but im worried that i will be dissapointed in the sharpness of the picture and so on ?

Does it scale 1080P movies down to 720P or can it upscale 2D material to 1080P ?

UPDATE : Ok so i just ordered the damn thing and a 92" projector canvas ;0)

Cant wait till next week ! ;0)

its simple, if you play a 2d game on a hd pj, youwill get 1920 by 1280 but as soon as you go to 3d it halves.. as it only has so much output.

so on a monitor , yes you are getting double the resolution as on a monitor one can get 3d on a 27 inch at 60htz at full 1920 x 1280

and for a online gamer , your going to want that, pj that are affordable simply have too much lag, and you will sniped into obsoletion..

but there is one un arguable idea for the pj enthusiast..

NOTHING replaces a 100 inch screen.. it would be like me saying.. oh you dont need avengers in imax , you just need to watch a much smaller screen but righ tin front of your face. .. not the same.. even though technically theviewing radius is creating a similar effect, nothing can replace that huge size, and the immersive feeling of it.

so its up to us consumers.. buy 3d projectors, and with more demand, comes better and cheaper projectors...

plus you can watch you hd 3d moves on them after..

lets do this!
