I purchased a 56" dlp TC which happened to be 3d ready about 2 years ago. Finally got around to building a new computer this year, so I thought hey why not get 3d vision. I purchased the 3d vision set up, and extra set of glasses, and 2 geforce 460s. End result? $1,100 TV, $2,500 PC and the only thing that is 3D is WOW. Every other game is rated as "good" or "marginal" and completely and utterly unplayable. I also have powerdvd 10 ultra 3D with cloudy with a chance of meatballs, my bloody valentine, and resident evil afterlife all on blu ray 3d. Not a single one of the films works in 3d. Nvidia 3d Vision won't even attempt to activate with powerdvd even if I set it manually. After months of research and troubleshooting the most progress I have made is that if I change settings in power dvd and 3d vision I can get it to display in 3d...and which point the nvidia driver goes crazy crashing and recovering and somehow manages to freak up the sound once it stops crashing. All in all that means for almost $4,000 you can either have 3d or sound but not both. Nvidia's part in 3d is a complete lie. It doesn't work at all. I can take my 3d movie else where and play it no problems but with Nvidia 3d vision I am 0/3 on movies and about 1/25 on video games. Congrats Nvidia, you have become a corrupt lazy company who would rather rely on lies and advertisements then dependable working products...like everyone else in America.

I have to admit I'm not impressed with Nvidia at the moment, I got a samsung 2233RZ monitor and the 3dvision bundle from scan computers and was told the samsung monitor was the best. Yet I've had alot of ghosting issues and nvidia support at first said they hadn't seen any issues about ghosting in over 2 months and then said it's my monitor and that the first 3d monitors have some issues, so they couldn't help....Noone was telling me about issues when spending £350 quid, so not happy at all....

Codebreaker - the NVIDIA system is working fine, why are you blaming them for Samsung's ghosting issues?

Sorry to say! it's nvidia blaming the samsung monitor, I blame nvidia software..And how you can say nvidia's system is working fine when you have a forum with people having problems doesn't sound like it's fine to me...

wow, great response fan boy. "ohh it doesn't work, must be your fault" I mean sure, you could offer specific facts to counter my specific facts (it doesn't work)...but really why do that when you can just blame me while providing zero substantiating information.

Sorry that you're having problems but if you search these very forums you'll find plenty of instances where people have successfully used the nVidia 3D vision setup with all sorts of strange configurations. Unfortunately, a lot of them are completely unsupported by nVidia. I have personally used mine with an older Mitsubishi DLP tv with wonderful results. DLP seems to have some of the least ghosting of all options. I have not, however, tested PowerDVD on the DLP as it was not my TV I tested my setup on. I can offer you the advice of trying to run Slysoft AnyDVD HD a long with PowerDVD to see if that allows it to play properly. This really does sound more of a software issue than it does with the hardware. Try looking for some of the 3D trailers that are available for download in SBS format and use the supplied 3D Vision Player to test that out and see what kind of results you get. As for the games try running with SLI turned off and see what kind of results you get. From reading I think that SLI can cause some strange issues at the moment.
As for you Codebreaker, you can play ignorant all you want... a little research reveals that ghosting is an issue with most of the current LCDs and will most likely continue to be. The 2233rz was one of the very first monitors that supported 3D vision. Blame your salesman if you think you were misled, and if you bought it online then you are your own salesman so guess where that blame gets laid as well. It's not the software's fault that the monitor can not refresh its screen fast enough. See above for my thoughts on your best options for a display.

Mrlindstrom, you basically just proved my point. I'm not saying its impossible to get it to work. I'm saying Nvidia doesn't make it work. Nvidia is selling a product, but isn't really supporting 3d at all. Yes, the problem is software...but it is nvidia software. I can clearly see the nvidia drivers crashing over and over and restarting in my error log. This happens with all versions of the nvidia drivers. Ya, it looks phenomenal when i play wow...but that is the only thing it works with. My point is Nvidia should be coming up with the fixes, not other people...that's why I paid them. I dint pay you or other forum people to support the device, I paid nvidia. Why aren't they using the money they are getting to support their own products? This is a horrible trend in the US. Companies aren't investing money back into the product they make anymore.

The current problem is that this technology requires a lot of technical expertise, time and patience. It's never been a plug & play experience. I just started playing Mass Effect 2 and it took lots of research to get it into optimal condition with the help of people from this forum. But once you have it working it's totally worth it.

Hate to say it but I have the same setup as the op Monitor wise and mine is awesome,
I have heard many different probs and to be honest alot are user error.. keep trying mate as I said it is very good
See, this is what is wrong with the world these days. I point out Nvidia is charging money for a product, which everyone fully admits has problems and only works based on support by enthusiasts...and no one sees a problem with that...
Well, good luck in 20 years when things like your car only work by posting on forums for months looking for enthusiasts to help out...since obviously companies are no longer expected to support their own products.

Um, dude, there are already car enthusiast forums out there for people to help. I know of NOTHING in human history that was made perfect. If it's man made, there are problems.
I love 3d vision, (2233rz user here) best graphics upgrade I've ever done. Sure there's a bit of ghosting in some areas, but after the monitor has warmed up and the game is colorful.. I hardly notice at all. Someday, I'll upgrade to a better monitor and have an even better experience. But to expect something to be problem free? You're living in a fantasy land. /rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

As frustrating as the set up can be, I can also say that when it gets all set up it's spectacular. I get annoyed with the software at times too, but on the flipside I am watching movies and games on a 3D projector for under a grand including the computer and two pairs of glasses. That's unheard of for any other 3D set up. PC versions of consoles games are always so much cheaper too which further saves me money.
But, I really do wish they'd work on the drivers to work with less errors. I actually had great luck when I first got it though even on a non-certified CRT (before I got a projector) and on Vista. Had some recent issues on Win 7 but I think I have it ironed out. I blame NVidia for an iffy driver release.

It's all well and good all these other customers replying, but were is nvidia support, are these not support forums? any how for all those who think I'm in the wrong, how many here actually read up on their own hardware before buying? I did my research online at nvidia and got my gear as a package from scan computers as I always do while building a pc. They told me it was better than the viewtek one and I had no reason to miss trust them as in the past the gear has always been spot on. Now nvidia support scan computers and get alot of trade from them as they are a big computer business. I've writen to both and get can't help from both. So my point is if thats the case why the hell are they selling samsung 3d monitor if it has issues with 3d vision? nvidia should stop supporting the monitor if it doesn't work properly as they know it not to and scan computers should stop selling it bundled with 3d vision, so both companies know theres problems with this monitor, but still sell it and support it with 3d vision or not as the case maybe.
