Sorry , cocked up the quoting above.... Anyway, the halo is usually indicator that power 3D is on which I believe is tridef version of fake 3D, albeit quite effective for some titles.

while you tridef boys playing BI, I replayed Bioshock 1 & 2 the past week. these two came way before I got into 3D vision; and now, with Helix mod, and widescreen fixer and flawless widescreen, they are almost 3D Surround Ready (Helix mod is excellent, issues come from triple screen solutions). it's awesome and couldn't stop until finished both :)

Glad to hear that, I finished Bioshock 2 in 3d even though it had issues, but when it worked, omg, it looked great, I think I'll replay both sooner or later since I didn't play BI1 in 3d, but my huge backlog is calling me lol. I'm one of the few that thinks BI2 is great, it's probably way to similar to BI1 in every way but it's still amazing.

And if you haven't played Minerva's Den, you have even a little bit more Rapture for you. It's hard to find, you have to buy it directly from the lame Games For Windows Live store, but it's easily worth it. Not sure this link will work: http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Minervas-Den/00000000-0000-400e-80cf-00065454085c You might be able to buy it from the GFWL menu in the Bioshock 2 game. My current plan is to try playing Infinite in the Rift, possibly with VorpX. Not a rush for me, but it seems like it has the potential to be more fun than the Tridef solution. Could suck hard too, no way to know until I try, whenever all those ducks line up. I hadn't bought Infinite because of their lack of 3D Vision altogether. Didn't have Tomb Raider, nor Blood Dragon. Helix's Blood Dragon fix pushed me over the edge to buy an AMD Never Settle coupon. You can get these off eBay, 3 games for about $35 is going price. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=tomb+infinite&LH_BIN=1 There is another promo with Crysis 3, for anyone who might want that instead of Tomb Raider. Edit: try to make more sense. :->

http://www.garagegames.com/community/blogs/view/22249 anyone knows if OR supports other 3D formats than SBS?

I think he means it has potential to have a better render support it then tridef. Though I also don't understand Tomb Raider.

Sorry, that was poorly phrased. Did an edit to make it more comprehensible. Mostly, just wanted to let people know about the Never Settle coupons. You don't have to buy a card to get those.

Well, apparently BI already works with Tridef + Oculus Rift, check this incredibly detailed OR review here: http://the-games-veda.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/oculus-rift-dev-kit-review-part-i.html Here's one hour of BI Rift+Tridef gameplay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpfwEIbWn8M Meanwhile, Nvidia is completely missing in action, what a shame.

A lot of writing and I need to read it before saying anything detailed but the rift is a fish eye lens[distorted]. Tridef doesnt have distortion. He may be talking about using rifts tracker or something I can't say without reading it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JGoBYCNH7k

The rift needs it own format. It's side by side but it also needs a "fish eye distortion" as mentioned by eqzitara. The fish eye distortion has to be made through the software which means that standard side-by-side will not work too well. You can see the images sent to the rift duplicated on a standard screen in many rift-clips on the tube. For instance this. My knowledge about available softs (so far made by entusiasts) are some demos + some games but the list increases on a weekly basis. There are also at least two s-3d wrappers worked on. Vireio perception (originally written by Cybereality) is now opensource and has gotten quite some amount of recognition on mtbs3d. VorpX is another wrapper (going to be payware) but it's not ready for release what i know about. I don't think there are any ready mediaplayers yet but a few projects are being worked on. Anyway it's going to be quite an exciting future if it takes off.

Cool! I forgot to mention that the rift also includes a headtracking device. To use headtracking within a game the game itself must be coded for this. Headtracking can be done by injecting the gamecode but is more complicated/requires more work than a stereowrapper. Still possible though.
