3D Desktop?
So this was a interesting thought. I was wondering if it was possible in windows 7 to get your wallpaper and desktop in 3D?

Does your Vizio have 2D-3D conversion? If so that will make your desktop 3D. There are a couple of desktop stereoscopic software programs available, as well as screen savers. I've never tried them though.

I've looked for ways here and there and never found any. I'd be interested in a 3D background, maybe with floating icons. Doesn't Windows 8 support this? Thought I read that somewhere, or maybe it was wishful thinking.

Ahhh... one of the benefits of having a passive 3D display - I just load up a 3D image in Stereophotomaker, switch to line interleave and save it. Then change desktop background to 3D image I just saved and - presto - background on desktop is in 3D making icons really stand out. Next step - make 3D icons so they actually pop out of the screen!
