Hello, i wish to share my little problem.
I have 100+ Hz CRT Display (Sony Multiscan E530). Res: 1280x1024 - RefrRate: 100 Hz
3D vision works great for me with games like Assassin's Creed, Mirrors Edge, XBlades. I enjoy watching 3D images with viewer and etc.
But i have problem with other games like Prototype, NFS Underground, Guitar Hero 3 (wich is even on demo game images of new drivers) Picture with this games is flickering but glasses - just dont work.
I tried renaming tricks and etc .. but still no effect.
I think if there is an option for setting RefreshRate for problem games it will work, but cant find such an option.

I tested 3Dvision with a Dell PT1110 monitor (analog) and 3Dvision worked just fine.
When I tried the same with my Barco BG808 projector (also analog) it failed miserably, hence the saga of .inf files and all.
I came to the conclusion that without some modifications within the registry, my analog projector would never work in 3D.
I called support and told them about my dilemna. The response I got was less than stellar.
My monitor is not supported was their response. Well, it's an analog monitor and it displays 100hz - the min requirement states that it is supported. The support representative said that it is not "specifically" mentionned as a brand that is supported therefore it ain't... There are NO BRANDS that are mentionned for support when it comes to analog monitors...
Still - he did not want to support me.

For example, "640x480=1" means resolution and "1" there means 60 Hz,
"3FF" means 150 Hz, "7F" 120 Hz, etc. These meanings may differ for different
hardware.
One of solutions is to replace refresh rates for all resolutions to 60 Hz,
besides one wich you prefer for games (set for it refresh rate you prefer).
When changing of registry was done, you have to reboot.
! Befor replacing it's recommended to backup original values.
Ok - I got 3D Vision working on my Barco 808 projector on a 126" screen.... Woo Hoo!!!!
I get 720p (1280x720) at 100 hz. I stepped it down to 96hz to get a 4 multiplier of 24p. 120hz was a little too much for my projo and the image was a little smeared. but 100 or 96 is great.
It looks gooooood!.
If I don't crank the depth too much, I get no ghosting.
No thanks to Nvidia support team, I had to resolve my problem myself.
It was a problem of polarity. There is two solutions for this problem. If your analog monitor needs negative polarity (-,-) you can get something called a Box1020 (or 1021) which allows you ro reverse polarity. Luckily for me, it happens that my projo has another input that accepts a positive polarity. Problem solved.
I still would like to know where you can change the polarity so that the Nvidia control panel doesn't go into never neverland, but in the meantime I can finally enjoy 3D on a massive screen!!!!

I have a GTX 250 and a 8800 GTX. I'll try both with Vista and Windows 7.

If you see a message "out of range" instead of normal image when run
Setup Wizard, you may do this:
Find in registry parameters "NV_Modes" (there are several of it). They contain
something like:

One of solutions is to replace refresh rates for all resolutions to 60 Hz,

If you see a message "out of range" instead of normal image when run
Setup Wizard, you may do this:

No thanks to Nvidia support team, I had to resolve my problem myself.
It was a problem of polarity. There is two solutions for this problem. If your analog monitor needs negative polarity (-,-) you can get something called a Box1020 (or 1021) which allows you ro reverse polarity. Luckily for me, it happens that my projo has another input that accepts a positive polarity. Problem solved.
I still would like to know where you can change the polarity so that the Nvidia control panel doesn't go into never neverland, but in the meantime I can finally enjoy 3D on a massive screen!!!!
You still need the monitor.inf file that unlocks all the resolution to make this work - otherwise you never get to that rez.

The problem was that Windows 7 uses a generic monitor driver which wont go above 85Hz.
This induced a discernible amount of flicker in 3D mode.
Setting up custom modes through Windows also wouldn't work.
I found the solution here:

This let me create a custom driver using override EDID information which I entered manually.
You only need to enter the refresh values for the given resolutions.
I've now got near perfect 3D, flicker free at 1600x1200x32 100Hz.
ALSO - Note that the 1.18 Installation disc may have problems recognising CRT's (allegedly anyway).
Use the 1.19 full CD download or later drivers.
