Soo, a few things ... did a clean install of 18.4 and neither did the stars on approach appear, but it also broke nebulae for me. All was well again after I copied over the df226b8076adab82-vs_replace.txt from 18.3. With 18.4 the .bin wasn't even generated.
I could make the stars on approach come back by removing the [shaderoverride3] lines in d3dx.ini. Haven't checked if there are any side effects yet.
Hope I could help a bit.

zytrel.

Well the file in the shaderfix for the Nebula was the same. if the bin did not get generated it could indicate other problems but it usually means it did not generate that shader yet..
as for the hash number was it 2358a8525db83aa47?? If sao that was not the problem.. if it was another number I will update the fix too 18.5 and you can fix that line with this one:
[shaderoverride3]
hash=2358a8525d83aa47
handling=skip
that should have been the correct shader to omit if it was another that was the wrong one but only on Number 3 shaderoverride..

Actually, no, the files were definitely different, unless I messed up badly or you secretly updated the files without changing version numbers. I did an md5 and compared the files in question to find out where the changes were that caused the problem.
In line 34 version 18.4 has
"float4 st = StereoParams.Load(0);
o1.x += st.x*st.y;"
While 18.3 only has
"o1.xyzw = v0.xyww;"
The lines I removed from d3dx.ini were:
"[shaderoverride3]
hash=591e4debc3d56509-ps_replace
handling=skip"

Umm yes I checked it and they where different.. so which code worked for you??
yes 591 was the wrong file I will update the file but you can replace Override 3 with the above I pasted in there with the hash 2358....
Thnx for your Input ;)
No problem, thanks for your hard work in the first place. :)
As for the nebula shader, the code from 18.3 is the one that works, so "o1.xyzw = v0.xyww;".

Did a quick test with 18.5. Everything seems in order now. Nebulae are fine and the stars on approach are visible.
Thanks for being so quick about this. :)

Yes I guess the one I omitted in the hash also did the stars on approach glad we caught that.. but now I have to go check a WhiteDwarf because that was part where I omitted..
I can go find one or if you are close what we are looking for is that while looking at the Whitedwarf there is not a tri star looking star with glasses on..
Other then that it should be good and maybe I will test that new code for the whitedwarf maybe that will stereoize it.. the long line light coming out is currently not in Stereo but the rest should be less the tri star looking object..
If it is working it should just look like a single bright white star with vapor trails..

Wait a minute ... no .bin files were generated and there are two source files ("3dvision2sbsps.hlsl" and "3dvision2sbsvs.hlsl") leftover in the folder.
Is that intended? :)
EDIT: well, cache_shaders=0 in the .ini, that explains it. :)
EDIT2: think you uploaded your dev version. :)

ahhaaa I did not even see that thnx for pointing it out ;)
Maybe that will explain the stutters I was getting in game.. I uploaded 18.6 should be good now..
Haha, you are TOO fast. :)
Looks fine so far, only had a quick look though, time to go to bed for me.
If I find anything else, I'll let you know.
And heh, from 18.4 to 18.6 in just a few hours, ppl will think there was massive progress. :)
Have a good one ...
