hey...
I have 4 displays connected to my PC: 2 x NON-3D monitors (primary use), 1 x 3D TV and 1 x 3D projector.
When enabling 3D (either in Windows 10's settings or Nvidia Control Panel (NCP)) it seems to enable 3D for the whole system rather than just for the 3D capable displays.
Although I do play games in 3D every now and then, I use it mostly for watching 3D Blu-Rays.
So here's my problem:
3D is enabled. then I feel like playing a game at my desk using my NON-3D monitors... the Nvidia driver knows these displays aren't 3D capable so it displays the game in Red Blue 3D.
Yes, I can go in the settings and toggle 3D, but here's what happens... toggling 3D in the Windows settings at least in my system will give me a 15+ seconds black screen. Using the NCP is even more painful. Every time I try to turn 3D back on it will force me to do the whole setup again. I lost count of the times I've gone through this process.
What I'm hoping for:
[olist]
[.]Force the driver to recognise 3D capability on a display basis rather than system wide --- OR...[/.]
[.]Tell the driver to never use Red Blue 3D. If the display being used can't support Stereoscopic 3D just fallback to good old 2D --- OR...[/.]
[.]Use a batch script to quickly toggle 3D. I currently a tiny program called MonitorSwitcher to... err.. switch monitors (lol) with just two clicks. It does not support 3D configuration, unfortunately.[/.]
[/olist]
thanks for reading! any help will be super appreciated!

Not really sure if there's a way to actually just disable Discover...

Hey, thanks! the commands seem to do the trick. Only strange thing I noticed is that now the 3D toggle in Windows display settings disappeared, but I really don't care.
What I'm really surprised is that, although the screen flicks like you said, it's a 1 or 2 second process. When reading your suggestion I thought it would be 15 seconds - like when using Windows settings. I'm really happy. Thank you.
Still think NVidia is just lazy though. They should add an option to disable Red and Blue. :-)

Yeah, Windows 10 and 3D is just plain wonky at times... yesterday I had the Windows 10 3D toggle, 3D worked perfectly, Profiles were working but I couldn't access the NVIDIA Control Panel and I couldn't take screenshots. So I reinstalled Drivers and now I don't have the 3D toggle but everything else works perfectly. Lol... maybe a restart will get them both to play nice, until something else randomly mucks it up again...

If you wanted to just enable 3D while running a certain player you could do something like this:
@Echo Off
if [%$Min%]==[Min] Goto :RunMe
Set "$Min=Min" &Start "" /Min Cmd /c ""%~dpnx0"" &Goto:Eof
:RunMe
"C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\3D Vision\NvStLink.exe" /Enable
Start /W "C:\Path to\App.exe"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\3D Vision\NvStLink.exe" /Disable
...just edit "C:\Path to\App.exe" to reflect the Player you want to run, it will Minimize itself, Enable 3D, Run the App, Wait for it to close and then Disable 3D again.
