Viewsonic Pjd6211 DLP projector AWESOME 3D! ZERO GHOSTING and amazing 3d performance
I had to take a minute to write about the Viewsonic PJD6211. I've had my 3d vision glasses for about a year now i guess and i have to admit i was ready to sell them because of the horrible ghosting on my crt monitors. I even have high speed crt monitors but yeah i almost never used my glasses because the ghosting messed with me so bad.

I've been a huge fan of projection for years and honestly think that anyone with a basement should have a projection and surround sound setup. It's just where it's at. Anyway the focus board on my crt projector went out and I got a new pjd6211 and i can't believe how amazing 3d vision is on it compaired to the crt crap i was looking at before. I might still get my crt projector fixed for $100 because i still prefer it to the dlp for movies. the crt might not be as bright as the new dlp but for color and contrast and just overall image quality for movies it's still better. But for 3d gaming the new 120hz dlp is AMAZING.

Yes the projector does get noticebly dimmer when you switch to 120hz but if you have a projector setup you should be in a dark/dim room anyway. For me it's still plenty bright. Now to get my 3d performance up. thinking i may need to put in a 2nd gtx260. As awesome as 3d is i just find it can be a disadvantage in some hi speed shooters. but i might feel different if i was getting 60fps rather then 20-30(Bad company 2 medium setting). for racing games though i never want to play another one without 3d vision. I have to reinstall moto gp. motor cycle racing in the first person view where the whole screen leans left and right is awesome on a projector setup.

fyi i got my pjd6211 for $508 with $9 shipping from tigerdirect and then 12% cash back through bing so it was about $465 i believe.

So if your thinking about dropping the money on a 24" alienware lcd i'd highly suggest consider going dlp for about the same cost. i know i'd rather game on an 8 foot screen from my couch then a 2 foot screen at my desk, but that's just me. and at 5000 hours on the bulb in eco mode that a 1000 days at 5hours a day.

Brightness? You know the glasses take away a lot, but what happens if you switch 60 to 120hz? you just adapt, well it took it away, i can't do crap, I just let it go? /wave.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Then comes the shutterglass , there goes another 4/5 ?? /whistling.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />
Dude, we find it unplayable in dark scenes.. Also scenes with big contrast differences ghost for me no matter what. Its the glasses man...
Im going to get a much better screen, matte white sux.

Glad you like the beamer.

Ive had my VS PJD 6211 since August last year and i think its the dogs twitcher.

Perservere with the shooters, you'll get used to it you really will. I play MW2 MP and never finish less than 3rd on Hardcore MP.

I also suffer from shocking performance with BF BC2. I have x 2 8800 GT's in SLi and cant play the damn thing in 3D as they can't cope. But as i refuse to play any game in 3D now, (just seems like watching a black and white TV), will need to upgrade to a pair of 295's. ........ 4## are to expensive for me right now.

Good luck and happy gaming !

Try some of the 3D movies trailers on it, you will think your at your local IMAX !!!!!!! /starwars.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':starwars:' />

That's a little odd. I would of thought they would cope better than that.

I know my GTX470 is quicker, but it runs at a pretty playable framerate at max settings in 3D at 1680x1050.

But i need a new monitor, i've only had the Samsung 2233RZ for less than a week now and whilst i do love the 3D effect and can't play a game without it, ghosting covering half the screen is a little annoying.

Well it could be CPU bottleneck, but as i have a Q8200, these can be difficult to O/C and the results varify in terms of success.

Might give it a go and see.

I have the near identical 6210 and have been nothing short of impressed. Search for my review on here if you're interested.
