Can't get 3D working on BenQ XL2420G - emitter not detected?
I have a GTX 690, BenQ XL2420G with built-in IR emitter, and 3D Vision 2 wireless glasses. I installed 350.12, including both the 3D Vision Driver and 3D Vision Controller Driver. In the 3D setup wizard there are four options, USB IR Emitter and Glasses, Wired Glasses, Pro Hub and Glasses, and Discover Glasses. There's no option for a monitor with built-in emitter. I tried both dual-link DVI and DisplayPort. How do I get the built-in emitter working?

Try unplugging the monitor for a minute or two, this will reset it. Use the USB IR Emitter and Glasses option.

I tried unplugging it earlier because I read the same thing in other posts and it didn't work. The wizard tells me to connect the emitter and turn it on but I haven't seen a way to turn on the integrated emitter. Do you have the same monitor? Should I see "NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D USB Controller" in Device Manager or is that only for external emitters?

No, I do not have this monitor. http://3dvision-blog.com/6456-problems-with-asus-vg278h-3d-monitor-and-the-integrated-ir-emitter/ See if you have a menu where it shows the emitter status, like in the article I linked. You might try reinstalling your drivers using DDU (Direct Driver Uninstaller) Also, it might be a good idea to try an older driver version, the latest is buggy for some people. EDIT: Are you seeing a Green Nvidia logo in the setup panel? If you are by chance using Vista, it's no longer supported.

The OSD has no emitter status or options, and I'm on Windows 7. Could someone with a monitor with an integrated emitter tell me (A) which choice they use in the 3D setup wizard, (B) whether they have a device named "NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D USB Controller" in Device Manager, and (C) whether you have to run the 3D setup or turn on the glases before the 3D indicator light on the monitor turns on?

I can say from all the past posts that I've read, the answer is "NO", the integrated emitter will not show up in your PC's device manager list. No idea about the monitor indicator light, but if the emitter is activated, you can see it by using a cell phone. http://3dvision-blog.com/4455-review-of-the-27-acer-hn274h-3d-vision-ready-lcd-monitor/

I contacted BenQ support. Despite multiple online reviews saying that this monitor has an "integrated IR emitter", it DOESN'T. I still need a USB emitter.
