It's been fun but it is time to go Building a new rig
2 / 2
I cant go back to 2D anymore, the 3D experience makes me high
and is atleast twice more impressive then in 2D.
I only set the convergence and depth once for a game and
then it's time to enjoy s**t out of it ;)
It even made me play old games and some games twice
wich I never did with 2D.
It's truly amazings how games come to live,
so the few flaws I take for granted.
I do play red dead redemption on the ps3 cause
this game is to awesome to ignore :)

I know what he means about wanting to play games not tweak them to work with 3D. Sometimes figuring out how to tweak a game can take a little time. I never minded it much though because I am so anal I will spend hours on end simply trying to make the mouse feel match that of counter-strike source lol

Hey guys (especially MSM),
I just want to apologize for my rant. I was 6 beers and 3 shots of tequila in when I typed that last night. I do agree with all of you and it is nice to see gamers as old as me.
Deep down I know I will be back on the 3D band wagon, possibly even this year. At the end of the day I just want to game before all of my reflexes are gone (a 3d Drooling sim might work). I even like to tweak a bit (not my nips either). I will keep checking in on you guys to see how you all are doing.
Sorry if I offended anyone (Betty White moment)

Really sorry to see you leave or anyone leave. Not sure what 3d equipment you have in the home currently. I am assuming the $200.00 3d Kit and maybe the $400.00 120hz monitor total 600.00 bucks, in that case unless you really need the cash to upgrade your current system not sure why you just don't leave the equipment in storage just in case you want to jump back in a little later down the line. I guess it's me I never tend to sell my equipment even though I hardly use them. I still have my Head mounted Display although i can't use it now.

Yeah I feel for you OP on choosing to leave 3D over tweaking headaches, I totally understand that a lot of people prefer a "it just works, no tweaking necessary" approach and 3D Vision by nature is a very customizable experience per the user's tastes (some people like things converged close to monitor depth so everything looks like toys in a diorama, while I myself prefer to set convergence/depth for more true-to-life sizes of objects).
I think if Nvidia took the Apple approach and everyone got the same experience, I wouldn't like 3D as much because the default convergence/depth on a lot of games is really bad as far as objects being true-to-life sizes goes. Even some "Excellent" and "3D Ready" games I've found to be not quite true to life. If they decided to take a one-setting-fits-all approach and severely limit convergence/depth tweaking, they would have to really, and I mean REALLY step things up and become better at creating good default convergence/depth for each specific game (and they already take long enough to release drivers).
So while I experience the same headaches you do OP, I'm still a trooper for 3D. I'd rather take 5 minutes screwing around with settings EVERY TIME I play something than settle for playing in 2D, at least with games without shadow problems in 3D (shadows are a must for any modern game, 3D or not). Although lately I've been playing around with convergence/depth less and less; I think most of the games I play regularly finally have the "perfect" settings I've been looking for. For instance, I haven't touched TF2's settings in like a year and I play that almost every day.
Also, someone else mentioned it already but I think the lack of built-in 3D crosshair in most games is a worse problem than most give it credit for. I mean this is the most important part of a lot of games, and most times overlaying the crappy Nvidia-provided replacements just doesn't cut it for me. I've gotten used to having no 3D crosshair in TF2 since I play it so much (it does have a built-in one, but for some reason it slows the game way down when you use it), but my biggest pet peeve when playing a new game in 3D, by a VERY VERY large margin, is the lack of a 3D crosshair built-in. I usually just stop playing right there unless I already really like the game; it makes me so pissed that Nvidia can't even get most devs to make such a miniscule change to the code. The game can have an array of anomalees and other problems in 3D, but if it doesn't sport a built-in 3D crosshair OR it has major shadow problems in 3D, it gets put down right away and doesn't get picked up again until Nvidia gets the devs to patch it. It's very possible for Nvidia to work harder to get more devs to patch in a 3D crosshair, and Borderlands is a good example of it. They just have to do a better job talking to the devs and hopefully not ask them for money.
I mean even now, when it's becoming very clear that 3D is the future of games, movies, and TV, devs still don't seem to want to provide such a small yet huge change to their games, either that or Nvidia seriously needs to rethink how they interact with devs.

MSM you are partially right, building the new rig does have something to do with it. I have to agree.
I have been unable to play any game in 2D ever since purchasing 3D Vision. Even games which are rubbish in 3D e.g. ME2 (needs zero convergence and many settings turned down to play) are preferable to 2D. Even at max settings games in 2D sadly lack something with-out the z-axis. I notice that everything is rendered at screen depth.
This is not a good thing.
