Acer XB270HU 1440p not supporting 3D vision! UPDATE: Confirmed no 3D :(
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/acer_xb270hu.htm The XB270HU looked to be an awesome monitor and even better then the ROG Swift, but for some reason there is no 3D vision support, but it seems to have all the features that should make this a very nice 3D vision monitor, 144hz, and Gsync. This would have been the a great 3D vision monitor and is using IPS panel and less grainy screen then the Swift. I wonder if Nvidia is slowly going to stop releasing 3D vision monitors? My ultimate monitor would be a 34" curved 21:9 3D vision monitor, and now I'm worried that companies like Acer are going to be dropping 3D vision support for upcoming monitors. Too bad...

The fact that "they tried it" and it didn't work doesn't really mean anything. The monitor has not been released yet. If by chance it is 3D Vision capable, it will never officially work until Nvidia adds the monitor EDID to their drivers. There's a thread already https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/814121/?comment=4471388 As I suggested to the other guy, e-mail Acer if you are interested to get a definitive answer.

Looks like it will be 3D vision ready! WOOT http://store.acer.com/store/aceramer/en_US/pd/ThemeID.35703000/productID.314151300 Lucky I can still return the ROG SWIFT and get this bad boy. BTW, the Rog Swift has the best 3D I've ever seen..........but It has more ghosting in high contrast situations then any other 3D vision monitor I've tried! and no amount of messing with lightboost or contrast will fix it. I've done the whole unplug the monitor, etc and ghosting is still there.

I kind of figured it would after reading Bloody's recent article over at 3D Vision Blog a few days ago. The article was about freesync, in it he mentions using an Acer ХВ280НК with 3D. http://3dvision-blog.com/ You might ask him how the 3D is on it via the comment section. EDIT: In the comments he said it did not support 3D even at lower resolutions.

Bloody is talking about the Acer ХВ280НК 4K G-sync monitor not the IPS XB27OHU. Also, I've been reading that the Acer ХВ280НК 4K G-sync monitor only does 3D at 30hz, which I'm guessing is 3D at 4K res. I wonder if it can also do 2560 x 1440 at 60hz?

3D at 30Hz, yuck. It's good to hear that the XB27OHU might support 3D.. It would be even sweeter if it uses a glossy vs a matte screen. The glossy screen on my Samsung S23A700D, really makes the colors shine.

The acer (according to the review) has a slightly more glossy matte version then the ROG swift. They specifically mention that it has less "dirty" looking grit then the swift.

Newegg has the XB270HU Abprz for $599.00 and shows it as being a 2560x1440 144Hz TN panel with G-Sync and support for 3D Vision and ULMB (Ultra low motion blur) The XB270HU bprz is $759.99 and shows it as having a 2560x1440 144hz IPS panel with G-Sync So the TN panel might actually support 3D, whereas the IPS panel does not?
