No sound! Not sure where to post this...
Well, I had to format my computer because it was all buggy and junk. When I reinstalled everything and got it up and running, I realized I did not have any sound. At first I thought maybe I had not installed a driver or something, but I have installed everything that is possible to install on the CD that came with the mother board.

I have a nForce 570 SLIT-A v.5.1 Motherboard with a GeForce 7300GT graphics card. I run Windows XP Professional with Media Center. I have a Dual Core processor that is 3.40 GHz and I have 1 GB of brand new RAM. (New because I discovered my old RAM was causing all the crap I had after I formatted it. Now works fine.)

Please let me know if anyone can help.

make sure onboard sound is enabled in the BIOS.
try updating the motherboard drivers at manufactors webpage.
make sure volumen is turned up in volumebar in Win XP.
make sure sound isn't muted or speakers unplugged.
(slightly wrong forum - we game with 3D glasses or 3D monitor/projector - You should try it when You get Your sound fixed /geek.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':geek:' /> )

I tried to check the volume control and all that, but it said I didn't have any active mixer device installed. Could my "sound card" be fried or something?

Thanks for the reply,

I don't think so. If it is You should get a free new one from the manufactor for sure.

The driver You should install:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf570_...intel_8.22.html

The forum You should ask in (this is about 3D visuals so I don't know a lot about sound, sorry):
http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showforum=34
(they know the answer for sure :) )

and maybe here too:
http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/nvidia-nfo...eries-vf72.html

If all else fails then You can buy a cheap X-Fi soundcard which probably will give You better sound. But try the forum I linked to - they should know.
