Anybody else thinking of swithing to ATI?

The reason i say this is because they are going to have 3d support in the coming months and their cards seem to be more powerful as well as having hdmi 1.4, I don't know what kind of 3d it is but they said in an informational video that it will be able to be used with most mainstream 3d hdtv's which means no more just Mitsubishi stuff =p, as well as being able to use the glasses from the tv.

I currently have a 480 card atm and i love it but its annoying i can not use it with my 3d tv

Why not?
If AMD offers a better way of doing 3d for less then I'd opt for it.
But the fact of the matter may be that AMD may have a lot to catch up with Nvidia in this regard, I'm afraid.

I assume there were a heap of bugs when nvidia's 3D came out but most of them are good now.

Since it would be "a few months" nvidia would be even more down the track with 3D and ATI
would just be starting.

So even if they do bring it out, There may be a lot more glitches then NVIDIA's style. And it would
take time to sort them out.

well seeings someone threw this out there ill respond. I love the idea of two companys offering 3d solutions. Nvidia is proven tech.....more or less and the thought of ATI bringing a 3d to the table also could mean alot of our 3d issues could be solved by the other team. I have a crossfire board myself so now i could look at dual card solutions and to be honest ATI has some pretty nice offerings. From what i read, ATI does not do the 3d magic, another company will offer the software and ati card will render it.....for a price if im not mistaken.

Im not going to run out and buy the first two highend ati cards that do 3d, ill let someone else take that hit and make my choice after that. Still its great if you have a am3 mobo

as much as I love ATi, their 3d support is a ghost and so I can't even consider them.
