yes, i finally caved after having it in my shopping basket for 2 weeks and finally hit pay.
It is officially released tomorrow, Pixmania had it for 540€, so it should be in my hot little hands by Friday.
Am I a fool for buying it before there are any reviews: Yes.
But your doing the wider 3d Vision community a great favour! Your taking a hit for the common good ! And hey, it will probably be awesome.
And you can come back here and post about how great it is with no ghosting, and how your eyes don't bung up when you look at the sky....

Andrew, you just opened a can of worms. Now you have to tell us where you got it and/or WHERE WE CAN? If you got in Austin, lemme know where 'cuz that's where I work. :)

yes Tommy, I am still waiting on delivery since they are waiting on stuff, maybe i will get it sometime in 2010 :)
do you want to give us a rundown on how it operates Andrew? does it accept 3d signal through HDMI? how is the brightness on it?
is there any option to image shift or is it a straight shiner?
I heard that it will have a terrible rainbow-effect, like all the other 1 chip dlp projectors. If this is correct, this is a no go for me!! Can you please check for the rainbow effect?
they have sent it out, so hopefully i should have it by wednesday...hopefully...
Good ;) i'm eager to hear how the acer will turn out. But the question still remains; checkerboard or frame sequential? I've read the beamer accepts 120hz through HDMI. That would indicate this is an frame sequential device? Right?
Can't wait to find out. I can't imagine that it would be a checkerboard beamer becuase 1280x720 checkerd will look very bad. That raises another intresting question; are there other beamers that use checkerboard? Or do they all use frame sequential?
I don't expect the rainbox effect to be too apparent, the color wheel spins at 2x speed.

It accepts 3D via HDMI just fine. I ran it this way on our press tour.
Brightness is good for 3D projectors. I like it.
Can you shift the image with the projector menu options.

It is supposed to have the rainbow effect because of the technology being used, but it should not be like "terrible".

You are right ;) Let's hope the rainbow effect isn't that apparent.
