I am wondering, if I am the only one with that problem. I am very good MW2 player, playing with a clan at high lvl. I have been playing MW2 in 3D for a couple of hours now and while it is a lot of fun in 3D, I don't come close to my usual performance.
Overall even with higher gamma the game is too dark, I dont even see enemies that I used to spot over half a map now. My eyes need to constantly refocus, which makes my reactions slower. Also I seem to pay less attention to the radar with drone active, because I would have to refocus again on that layer.
To me it seems, 3D adds a lot of immersion to a game but since it is affecting performance that much in competetive multiplayer games, I am wondering if this is a single player only technology. It would be sad to go back to 2D just so I can compete again.

these are sacrifices you will need to make to play. Especially in fps games. In reality it's not as easy to aim as it is a 3d game on a 2d screen. with S3D and what your eye and brain must do now you will be at a handicap compared to the regular 3d gamer on a 2d screen. Being ex military I was always disappointed by the way fps games are being portrayed. Unless everyone plays the game in S3D in multi-player you will never become more than an average rated player, there are just some limitations you wouldn't be able to overcome.

I guess that is just the way it is. I hardly play single player games though, so I have to ask myself if it is even worth keeping the Samsung and 3D Vision kit. I mean it looks fantastic, but I am not sure if I would use it over a longer period.

If you are competitive gamer, the sad answer is that you will probably drop 3D in favor of performance. I consider myself to be more of a casual gamer, so I will gladly take the fun-factor of a 3D environment over a bit of disorientation, even if it is effecting my skills (or lack there of). To each his own. Some people may not even like 3D due to the visual options which you are forced to cut back on, or outright disable, but I'm all for it. Absolutely loving my 3D system.

Using a 120Hz LCD and 3D Vision usually has these two scenarios:
1. Play in stereo 3D in single-player mode at 60Hz per eye.
2. Switch to "2D" in 120Hz to be more competitive in multi-player games.
When you are not playing in stereo 3D you also has the benefit of getting up to 120hz instead of the 60hz you get per eye when playing in S3D. So it is not your eyes just having to refocus because of the added depth and problem with image appearing darker - these can be minimized by lowering the depth and increasing brightness. It just takes some time to adjust to this new way of playing games and you can improve your performance to be just as in "2D"... remember that you were not that good when you started playing in "2D" too, it just takes time. Then again there is also some performance hit while playing in stereo 3D mode that if you don't have a fast enough video card and PC in general may also lower your performance as a result of getting lower fps.

Interestingly in games where there is no onscreen crosshair (specifically Killing Floor, which is the only game I know of with no crosshair), I'm actually better at aiming with 3D (without nvidia crosshair).
I did finish Far Cry (1) on challenging in 3D (with nvidia crosshair) and didn't feel like the 3D was hurting my ability to aim most of the time. I think you get used to it.

Well if you have a S3D enabled with the laser sight then that takes away half the challenge especially when the laser sight adjust to more or less the target's depth. While I think you can improve over time playing in S3D for fps I don't think you will ever get up to the level you were at in 2d playing. just too much to over come. no more 25kills and zero deaths unless you are sniping from some secured location.

I found the same thing with COD, i think the reason is your eyes focus, when your do anything in 3d (in real life) you only focus on one thing at once, when playing in 3d your also doing this. Adversely when your playing in 2d its much easier to focus on the entire screen at once. Playing in 3d is essentially more 'realistic' but won't be good unless everyone in the game where to use it

The only thing that will correct the unfairness of playing with 3d while everyone else uses you for a spoung cushion in 2d would be to have the entire room full of 3d users. I co-op mw2 with 2x 3d vision setups and it was..............well the same as playing 3d by yourself but 2x as fun. It would be fun to have the room full of 3d vision users...............wonder if there are enuff copys floating around this forum to get a game going????????????????

In the future it would be great if games could check for 3D Vision users and would group them together, so it would be an even playing field for everyone. That way you could enjoy the beaty of 3D while still playing at a competitive level.

thats really not a bad idea, could possibly make a sigh up sheet on this forum and try and get some going, however theres no guarantee that everyone will be using there 3d if they say they will :P

Sometimes i do better in 3d, sometimes worse. it really comes down to the particular game and weapon sight. On certain games, and on certain depth/convergence settings, using certain sights makes me feel like i'm going bosseyed, and i would definitely say my performance is worse off there.
But then you get the other games, as some have mentioned, ones that have no crosshairs, or maybe a particular weapon that doesnt usually have a crosshair (like a sniper rifle unscoped in most games). Suddenly, 3D becomes quite the performance boosts, when you're running around corners and capping ppl faster than the 2D players can even pull up their sights. Do some close to mid range battles using a semi-auto sniper rifle of any sort in most games and then see how you feel about it lol.
