Samsung active 3D TV SBS or OU mode not working corretly anymore: (Help)
Hello guys,
I've my Samsung UN55C9000 3D Tv for a while now, and it has been working fine up until last Sunday. Now whenever, I try to watch a movie or video in SBS or OU the 3D looks bad. It kicks in and the glasses turn on, but the image is not that good. I see a lot of ghosting and double images, and some things don't display at the right place. Especially in dark areas the back ground meshes with the foreground.
Looks like something is not alighning right anymore. Kind of looks like if I were watching a 3D content from the wrong angle in a passive 3D screen, Only that I am not, since this is an Active 3D TV. but thats quility I am getting.
I tried power cycling the TV, Using new batteries for the glasses, trying different videos, but I get the same result. I do have a 4k LG 3D TV and every content I throw at it looks amazing.
Not sure what changed, or what happened. Maybe the screen is giving up, or something wrong with emitter.
This TV is way out of warranty. this might not be the right forum, but I was just checking if anyone with Active Samsung TV had similar issue.
Thank you,
It sounds stupid but did you not activate reverse eyes option by mistake?
I did,I also put my glasses upside down. that wasn't it. The 3d still works. it is just out of focus.
Umm ...so like um ...are you talking about when using a stand alone player or um... some PC software?
Sorry. I have a Pc hooked up to it directly. Im trying to watch movies either SBS or OU, also videos from youtube that are SBS do not look right.
Sometimes when my glasses are running out of battery the image looks kind of like this. When I replace the battery it looks normal again. but I already changed the battery and tried 3 different sets of glasses. I'll try a different source and see if it works with a different 3d mode other than SBS or OU.

well youtube videos can be recorded and uploaded in any number of resolutions and never really look good. The majority of 3D stuff on there was using old tech. Some of the GoPro 3D videos are decent looking.
If you are pirating content, it depends on how it was ripped and compressed. Blu-ray are typically something like 18 GB on their disc.
Since it's your PC are you using any type of EDID override? Those Passive overrides are 1080i, not 1080P.
Also make sure that the cable ends are securely plugged in and/or swap out the cable for a known good one.

Thanks for the tips, but I tried on another Active Samsung 3D TV that I have and everything looks good. Youtube videos, as well as movies.
It's definitely a problem with the TV itself. Not sure what changed other than the screen going bad. The 3D effect still there, but it is blurry, the depth in the images is not as good, there are some artifacting, and also a lot of ghosting.
Any Active Samsung 3D users experts out there?

Are you sure, since you are using your PC, that there's not an EDID override causing the issue. Keep in mind that the Acer and Zalman Passive infs, do not include SbS or O/U support.
Have you tried a stand alone player with the TV?

Maybe Windows loading wrong EDID for this TV, whenever you disconnect and connect it, windows recognizing it and keep loading the wrong EDID for this TV.
I had a similar issue years ago, don't know what caused it but Windows changed and continued using wrong EDID for the TV. After unistalling driver with DDU and changing the EDID file location fixed the issue.

Hi,
I don't have any custom EDID on the computer connected to this TV. My main computer is in my room connected to an LG passive 3d TV. This 55' Active 3D TV I'm having issues with is in my living room connected to an HTPC. I don't really play games on it. Just watch movies. I started playing with some of the settings, like picture and 3D settings on the TV and I think it is looking better. Every content I'm using has been tested on my other TV and it looks great. Maybe I am getting too use to my LG TV looking way superior than this other one. I'm still doing more testing on it.
I just wanted to know if someone with similar TV had experience something similar.
Thanks to everyone for trying to help!
