Did you check the separation? To have depth, you must have separation. Things in the distance should be no farther apart than your ipd. Convergence also needs to be set accordingly. Simply saying that it was flat without physical measurements means little. My first assumption would have been the eyes out of sync as well.
I would bet money that the reported screen size was way off in the registry. Thus resulting in poor 3D in relationship to your distance from the screen. I've had this happen a few times when EDID overrides corrupted/ did not install properly for whatever odd reason.

I meant more the display standard - there should never have been active and passive, only one.
What was the point of the tight licensing policy? It just ended up working against the tech becoming more widespread. Surely what they want is is more people to have more reason to buy their hardware, not to lock down how people can use it?
I'm stuck with Nvidia now because I like gaming in 3d and, although I prefer passive, I like all the options to be available, I use 3dvision, Tridef, SBS - whatever works best with a given game. Point being, if Nvidia made thier tech more accessible, surely that would result in more sales?

It is indeed sometimes very difficult to set correct separation and convergence especially on the Projector because the size of the screen. I have 280cm screen and I am 3m away from it.
With my 55" TV it is much easier to find the balance.
For some games on the projector I have to go with Separation higher than IPD and lower convergence but for others I go with low separation and higher convergence.
I generally don't use ingame FOV below 75. But there are games where I use much higher. For ex in black ops 3 I need to go over 100 otherwise I get sick. It is the only game that gave me motion sickness in 3D, except oculus but that's a different sotory.

Is it said anywhere that if we "play by the book" the separion should be measured from screen to be the ipd value of your own ?
I have found out that time spend with 3d gaming increases ones capability to push more on the separation,
at the beginning i sued max 30% of the range now i can go sometimes to 50 or more but then the separation on screen measured is propably closer to 20cm already.

If you compare the depth certain games produce there's a big difference. Some games definitely lack depth. I got this idea while playing Fallout 4 and started googling. In added link you could see the retina would receive light coming in from almost any angle from the direction your head is pointing. The cornea controls and focuses the light entering the eye. (people who start wearing glasses late in life is usually the result of a damaged cornea. Playing sports from a young age stimulates the eye muscles because you focus on an object and for that reason sports people are less prone to wear glasses) Just some basic stuff.
Now if you think about it, the light entering the eye isn't necessarily focused only on a small dot on the retina. Light is guided to the Macula by the cornea. Biology/science claims the Macula's size is around 5.5 mm (0.22 in). But once light isn focused symmetrically on the macula it causes some strain on the mental part of the illusion. I believe your brain could be trained to adapt just like everyone here trained their mind to go past the default depth of 3d vision. The only unnatural thing in this whole "setup" I believe is eyes physically di-/converging. But since the screen in front of you stays the same that couldn't happen. When you play around with two monitors perhaps...or train your brain to diverge your eyes to focus on the two outer screens in a surround setup? XD even so, it might not be a bad thing because its just your brain and eye muscles receiving some really odd & intense exercise.
Have you ever thought how a creature like a fish perceives the world? Or chameleon? A chameleon cant perceive depth when it is idle and thats why it keeps moving forward and backward to change the angle the light enters the eye to help perception. If you think about it, nVidia schemed all the gamers would go crazy to buy a 3d vision setup. They dont make money of monitors so they wanted a slice of the pie from the companies that do produce monitors. If gamers did go crazy about 3d vision the companies who produced 3dVision ready monitors would have made big bucks as a result of their connection with 3d vision. nVidia makes billions of us consumers. Instead of licensing the consumers with an additional charge for a 3d Vision license they made it all complicated by asking 3rd parties for a couple extra million to make it compatible with their setup. Instead of trying to control the monopoly they should have put the consumer first. A business plan will never succeed if you make money the priority instead of the consumer. Good news, 55UH850V (55UH8500 US) works with the [b]joker18[/b]'s EDID override (thanks so much joker18). After fourth installation and restart finally Nvidia detected the TV as a 3D Vision Display. Tried Driver San Fransisco in 4K 3D and works good.

You need UHD color deepth activated on the TV. Also it seems you did not use the proper HDMI port.
This Edid only allows 4:2:0 color so find in the TV manual which HDMI supports YcrCb 4:4:4.
Re-export it using correct settings when you have the time. ON my TV is HDMI 3 and has the text 10 bits. Don't use ARC or HDCP 2.2

Thanks for the EDID and the info [b]joker18[/b]. I'm currently trying to RMA this TV because it has abnormal crosstalk, just terrible, bottom, top, corners filled with double images. I believe I have a faulty panel.
If they send me a new TV I will dump the original EDID again.

The similar problems (wrong and terrible 3D) was with LG 65UH850V, when I test it in the shop with my PC... I wrote earlier about this. So it is not faulty panel, IMHO...

i have been using 57-60 fov in many games as i have about 4.5m to screen that´s 3m wide, i though it´s about 60 degrees. What kind of FOV values you guys use that game with projectors ?

With my 55" TV it is much easier to find the balance.
For some games on the projector I have to go with Separation higher than IPD and lower convergence but for others I go with low separation and higher convergence.
I generally don't use ingame FOV below 75. But there are games where I use much higher. For ex in black ops 3 I need to go over 100 otherwise I get sick. It is the only game that gave me motion sickness in 3D, except oculus but that's a different sotory.

Is it said anywhere that if we "play by the book" the separion should be measured from screen to be the ipd value of your own ?
I have found out that time spend with 3d gaming increases ones capability to push more on the separation,
at the beginning i sued max 30% of the range now i can go sometimes to 50 or more but then the separation on screen measured is propably closer to 20cm already.
was there a registry key that says what´s your screen size? I believe that also affects how strong the effect is at different separation values.
I propably should try bigger FOV values also.
Popout is great but usually once in a while in game there is something at your face level and if the convergence is too much its annoying feeling and then you begin to avade those situation :D or drop the values.
well never the less 3d is something different. Even at super low values the stereo image just has so much more
info than the 2D.

Your eyes can converge and diverge. Physically. Your vision can also converge or diverge. Mentally. Naturally your not supposed to put too much physical strain on your eyes by di- converging too far too often. The physical rules could be bent to some degree. The rules can also be bent mentally. If you look straight ahead of you your subconscious "registers" all incoming light. You can focus your vision on a point of convergence but at the same time also focus on all light entering the pupil. (when you are caught daydreaming you are usually focusing on all light entering. When you snap back to reality you focus only on one point. When you are daydreaming your vision usually also converge) If I understand it correctly your retina is the part of the eye that receives light. In added link you could see the retina would receive light coming in from almost any angle from the direction your head is pointing. The cornea controls and focuses the light entering the eye. (people who start wearing glasses late in life is usually the result of a damaged cornea. Playing sports from a young age stimulates the eye muscles because you focus on an object and for that reason sports people are less prone to wear glasses) Just some basic stuff.
Now if you think about it, the light entering the eye isn't necessarily focused only on a small dot on the retina. Light is guided to the Macula by the cornea. Biology/science claims the Macula's size is around 5.5 mm (0.22 in). But once light isn focused symmetrically on the macula it causes some strain on the mental part of the illusion. I believe your brain could be trained to adapt just like everyone here trained their mind to go past the default depth of 3d vision. The only unnatural thing in this whole "setup" I believe is eyes physically di-/converging. But since the screen in front of you stays the same that couldn't happen. When you play around with two monitors perhaps...or train your brain to diverge your eyes to focus on the two outer screens in a surround setup? XD even so, it might not be a bad thing because its just your brain and eye muscles receiving some really odd & intense exercise.
Have you ever thought how a creature like a fish perceives the world? Or chameleon? A chameleon cant perceive depth when it is idle and thats why it keeps moving forward and backward to change the angle the light enters the eye to help perception. What makes it even more strange is that it could point both eyes in any direction. Creating 6d vision XXXD
If you think about it, nVidia schemed all the gamers would go crazy to buy a 3d vision setup. They dont make money of monitors so they wanted a slice of the pie from the companies that do produce monitors. If gamers did go crazy about 3d vision the companies who produced 3dVision ready monitors would have made big bucks as a result of their connection with 3d vision. nVidia makes billions of us consumers. Instead of licensing the consumers with an additional charge for a 3d Vision license they made it all complicated by asking 3rd parties for a couple extra million to make it compatible with their setup. Now I don't think they could reverse this method because it might interfere with policies originally created. Now no one is making money and nothing is moving forward. Instead of trying to control the monopoly they should have put the consumer first. A business plan will never succeed if you make money the priority instead of the consumer. A successful business serves, not the other way around. But I guess that is business. That is life. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose =)

You need UHD color deepth activated on the TV. Also it seems you did not use the proper HDMI port.
This Edid only allows 4:2:0 color so find in the TV manual which HDMI supports YcrCb 4:4:4.
Re-export it using correct settings when you have the time. ON my TV is HDMI 3 and has the text 10 bits. Don't use ARC or HDCP 2.2
Normally due to the fact you are using incorect HDMI port, my UC970 mod shouldn't work properly eaither.
This mod has colotbug.

The similar problems (wrong and terrible 3D) was with LG 65UH850V, when I test it in the shop with my PC... I wrote earlier about this. So it is not faulty panel, IMHO...
