Yeah - best guess is that it was actually affecting someone inside Google - either someone important to yell at the engineers, or someone motivated enough with a bit of free time to fix it themselves. You never know - maybe someone actually saw my report through the API console, but I don't find that particularly likely.
Even so - that's four days of downtime for anyone depending on Google who weren't able to work around it themselves before then. We're not paying Google, so we can't complain too much, but that could represent a lot of money lost for someone who's business depends on them, with no way to even know if Google is working on the problem or not.
I find it a little curious that the blogger.posts.list error rate spiked to 100% for a short time *after* they fixed the blogger.blog.get API. Possibly a server being rebooted and taking a while to fill their caches (since we know that API is timing sensitive, so it might not work at all until the caches are able to fulfil it).
