Well, with the help of 3dsg, I just finished a very enjoyable 3d playthrough of Crysis 3. The story was stupid, but it looks incredible. The only 3d issues I encountered were halos and hud depth issues. I played on the hardest difficulty so crosshairs were disabled, but I'm sure they'd be broken if they weren't. Normal hud stuff was fine, but anything with a scope or visor was tricky. I found if you aim between the "two" crosshairs of a scope you'd hit your target (when using explosives), but sniping would have been impossible. For my playstyle though, it worked pretty well. Not as good as real 3d, but better than 2d. But overall, great game, passable 3d. Here's how I made the 3d worthwhile: Following the instructions from here, I adjusted my settings. Crysis 3 doesn't have a system.cfg, so I made one. http://www.3dsolutiongaming.com/wip/crysis-2-wip/ My settings were: r_StereoEyeDist=0.08 r_StereoScreenDist = 0.15 r_StereoHudScreenDist = -10

Thanks. I have to take a look at it. One question tho: there is a space betweene equal mark but not in first line. I remmember that it was an issue with Crisis 2. They change it later and spaces were necessery. So with or without them ?

I`ve been just playing with new Stereo3D options in latest CVar Configurator and i have to say that improvement is Hugh. You have more options then you really need. Also increasing FOV make a great difference. At the moment this is the best "fake" 3D i`ve ever seen. Give it a try - finally this game have 3D Depth i was hoping for.

Hi Skaut Any chance of a screeny or two please? I spent ages tweaking the pants out of Crysis 2 (tweaking the convergence and depth to get the best effect whilst minimising the halos, disabling the currently held weapon from HUD to negate those halos etc.) and it still looked dreadful. I love SciFi shooters and haven't got Crysis 3 because of Crysis 2 and I am reticent to buy it unless the 3D is OK. Thanks!

yeah, some ingame images would be great. I was wondering if the new dx11 wrappers can help with real 3d on Crysis 2/3, Tridef manages to make real 3d work but it has a ton of issues, I wonder if now those could be fixed.

That hollow halo is still there and its bigger when you get into higher separation. That is the case with so called "fake" 3D. Altho it didn`t bother me that much as it was in Crysis 2. It looks less noticeable. Maybe because i got more dimensional view it kind of blend into environment and i had to search for it. I`ll try to get some screenshots.

I`ve been trying to take some screenshots but i can get them by any software i use to deal with. Even trying to record through Fraps make no sense because it records only left picture - you can see halo tho. Let me know if you got any ideas. BTW i am still trying to get them right. There is to much to play with. All the options are confusing so it will take time before i`ll get it right. The worst halo is obviously around weapon and balustrade but there is a option to deal with it (for weapon actually).

Thanks TsaebehT. This are screenshots can show you how much of a Depth you can get but please don't mid this halo around some objects. We know that this have to be there. Only challenge is to make it less visible. I went quite far with all setting so the halo is visible a lot. I will try to minimize it because i want to play this game one more time so i`ll spend some time with it.
Thanks TsaebehT.

Minus the halos those actually don't look that bad for fake 3D, it's a shame they don't render the scene without the gun, fake the 3D for entire scene, and then overlay the gun 'over' it. I'm sure it wouldn't take a whole lot more horsepower to do so and would make it look a hell of a lot better.

There is an option for weapon itself - i just didn`t play with it yet. Just discovered Far Cry 3 Multiplayer. To excited to stop.

When you rightclick (or what ever you zoom/gun-sight button is) it brings it all back so looking down the scope is normal. edit Bo3b is probably going to punch me in the face. [Please don't! ;D ] These screenies look quite good! Crysis303 shows loads of depth even when superimposed (still very layered but more of them). Crysis 3's fake 3D is far superiour to Crysis 2's. @Skaut Would it be possible to try that r_DrawNearFoV = 2 command and find a shot with more depth please? Maybe outside?

I will try to set it like you propose because mine was like r_DrawNearFoV = 80 so quite high. I will also get some screenshots on the outside. There are four options for 3D which i have to play with so it will take some time to set it right.
