Why can't you adjust convergence wiith a 3D Blu-ray movie
Just wondering why depth and convergence is locked when playing 3D Blu-ray movies. Is it because it's not possible or is it a decision from the manufacture of the movie. I have gotten so used to being able to pump up the convergence while gaming that I find when watching 3D Blu-rays I want more.

The reason you can change convergence/depth in games is because the image is being rendered in real time. Movies aren't rendered in real time like a game. The amount of separation and convergence is all up to the filmmaker. It can't be any other way.

The best you can do with movies is slide the images horizontally a little : this changes the convergence plane, making the entire picture more in or out of the screen but it does not change the total strength of the movie. (it does not make the image suddenly pop-out, it's useful to do small corrections if the footage is not properly converged.
Stereoscopic Player has this feature but I don't know if BluRay players have it.

You can change Depth, it can be changed on PowerDvD and on a Samsung YV, and i am guessing other tv's too, but as above about convergence

rexford do you use a 3D monitor to play bluray 3D movies or a 3D TV? I can´t get it running.

I use a 3D monitor (Acer 5360 projector and sometimes Viewsonic VG 2230 22" monitor) with Cyperlinks's Power DVD and NVidia's 3D Vision
Edit- I just looked at your specs. I believe you have to have a 8800GT or higher to run 3D Bluray. Not Sure. I had two 8800 GT's and it ran great. Now I have GTX 470 and it runs great.

Not true. You can only change depth when playing a 2D DVD and converting to 3D. Not with a 3D Blu-ray. That's with PowerDVD, cant speak for Samsung YV.

Are you talking about the parallax adjustments? I have tried that and get confused as to how or what that is doing to the screen. It seems to stretch and squish everything.
