necropants, thanks for a detailed description of what you have done to get it working. I noticed one main difference is that when you use the BF4 profile and SLI that you leave the shader cache off, so I gave that a try. It did at least allow me to load into the game properly. I also noticed that this time when I hit Alt-Tab to go to desktop that my monitor changed modes and there was a delay before seeing the desktop. Previously that was not the case. I would not think the shader cache change would cause that difference but I know 3D Vision can be real stubborn with disengaging at times (at least with my monitor).
Now I have not really started the game yet and have only been testing in the very first area when you start, but with SLI I am still getting tons of crashes. It seems my main problem now is when I go back to the main menu. From there I seem to go downhill fast. I have tried to do Alt-Tab while it is loading to the main menu but without the cards displaying I am not sure if I should or of the timing. Sometimes I get back to the main menu OK but when I then load back to the starting area from a save I tend to crash.
But, with shader cache off at least if I do manage to load into the game the 3D works. So far I have not gotten any broken 3D. I either get loaded OK or crash.
With the loading times being so darn long without the shader cache I think I am just going to turn my settings down a tad and try it without SLI. Maybe this will get sorted out in time. I have noticed a few anomalies when running without SLI and using the DAI profile which I do not see when using SLI and BF4 profile oddly enough (like flashing textures in distant mountains).
Which driver are you using? On my Win 8.1 boot I have not yet installed 347.09 due to the many issues others have had and it caused a lot of crashing on my Razer Blade and I had to go back to 344.75. But, on the Win 7 boot I currently am running 347.09. Maybe in a day or two I will try 344.65 or 344.75.

I am using the latest driver at this point as I get better performance, but some have suggested 344.65. I tried that and saw no stability change.
Basically the game always crashes in 3D mode for most of us. If I have 3d vision on at all in the nvpanel I crash regardless if 3d is actually activated or not.
The Alt-Tab trick gets around it sometimes. this works for me most of the time but my 3d is always broken again on zone. So I just typically use it to zone and save the game. Seems most people are having success with it not breaking though.

Hi - you can rename the dlls like this:

Switched to 347.09 and could play without any crash...but after 2 hours, i closed the game and wanted to play again and within 5 times i cant get 3D kick in correctly. Thought this is the driver but before reinstalling the driver 344.65 i give it a try to restart my PC and .... ET VOILAT... kick in 3D in the right way, tryed it 2 times.
May be this is some caching issue? or ram ? So if you run into troubble with more and more 3D faults, restart your PC :-)

That is interesting as necropants mentioned a solution which involved rebooting. Are you using one card or SLI? And which profile are you using? Do you have the shader cache on or off in whichever profile you are using?

Just rebooting is not enough to fix it for me most of the time, hence the long winded and annoying solution I posted. (but it works very consistently)
Interesting regarding 344.65 though with I assume shader cache on. I will roll back and play around a bit more.. I opted with the latest driver cause when I opt to play with single card mode in some areas I get much better performance.
Like I've mentioned its really erratic, just when I thought I had a working process to get it working all the time it will break and refuse to start correctly again. The process I posted earlier is 100% consistent though.

Hmm..currently have various reasons (that I can't exactly say WHY or put the finger on) that is the Denuvo DRM.
Ofc, if you use a cracked version you get the same behavior as the DRM is still there...
Basically, the DRM encodes/decodes DATA. From a lot of testing I see the game is CACHING stuff (somewhere, which I wasnt't be able to find)... Just Reboot and LOOK HOW LONG IT TAKES to load the 1st time. Also check HDD activity.
Now quit, and start the game again. Again Measure TIME and HDD activity and you will see A HUGE difference...
I am also seeing this MUCH MORE PROEMINENT in Lords of the Fallen...
I bet once the DRM (or how they want to call it) is removed ALTOGETHER these problems will go away..
Ofc: this is SPECULATION currently without HARD proof (just testing and observing) that this is the case.

Interesting, and was my gut instinct a few days ago when I really started to try to get to the bottom of this. Like you say no hard evidence but especially since the lords of the fallen has similar issues with different engines, fueling my rant on this a few pages back. These draconian DRM schemes really annoy me, all they do is punish paying customers.
Its kinda wierd though since for me at least, in SLI the problem is far worse.
Is there any change this DRM will be removed?
Helifax, I havent had a chance but I found one more broken shader in crestwood Ill get you guys a save file and screen ASAP.

Thanks for pointing out Losti's earlier post. There are so many in this thread I read that one in a prior review.
necropants, using your method with BF4 profile, shader cache off and SLI are you ever able to go back to the main menu without crashing or 3D breaking? I guess it is not a major issue as it does seem to work ok to just load another save from the current game. When you are finished playing do you usually just Alt-F4 or do you exit to main menu and then exit?

No. it usually crashes but I can get around it about 75% of the time using the alt-tab trick on the load screen but it will still eventually crash.
Honestly unless I am playing in non SLI mode with the default profile. I Just alt+tab out and manually kill the Dragonageinquisition.exe with task manager. (alt+ f4 is probably good too)
I have found I usually get problems with the fix kicking in properly again if I close it down cleanly in SLI mode. This is one thing that lead me to also suspect the DRM earlier, it also takes forever to close otherwise due to shader cache being off too

Broken Shader in Crestwood. Its a pretty obscure place out of the way and I don't think I have seen this particular effect anywhere else so I can see why it may have been missed.
Cheers.

Ok, thanks to both of you for the help. I think that was part of my problem is that I kept trying to go back to the main menu to re-load into the first area to test the SLI solution. I will try killing the process and I think I will play a little further in. I was attempting to get things sorted out before creating a proper character which I would actually play out. About how long does it take to get out of the "tutorial" area and be at a point of free roaming?
Also, just to make sure I am getting this all right: there currently is no solution to have shader cache on with SLI right? Running in SLI the cache must be off right?
EDIT: Losti, I see that you are not running Aero in Win 7. I may try disabling Aero as well. Also, is there any known issue with using MSI Afterburner overlay? I have been using it and it seems ok, but a thread on bioware with tips said to not use any overlays. I have Origin overlay disabled.

CPU: i7 5930K, 4.5 (125x36) with Corsair H100i | MB: Asus Rampage V Extreme (1401 Bios) | GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti | RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB DDR4 2666MHz (4x8GB) | Storage: Crucial MX100 512 GB SSD (OS & Apps), 2 Seagate 1TB Serial ATA HD 7200/32MB/SATA-3G (Data - RAID 1) | PSU: Corsair HX1000W | Chassis: Cooler Master HAF X | OS: Win 10 Pro 1809
Jason, Losti posted his exact config on the last page
was using Battlefield 4 profile with shader cache on.

Honestly unless I am playing in non SLI mode with the default profile. I Just alt+tab out and manually kill the Dragonageinquisition.exe with task manager. (alt+ f4 is probably good too)
I have found I usually get problems with the fix kicking in properly again if I close it down cleanly in SLI mode. This is one thing that lead me to also suspect the DRM earlier, it also takes forever to close otherwise due to shader cache being off too
