To The Moon (HUMBLE BUNDLE) + extra 3D gaming goodies
I haven't posted in here for a while, and feel like a heretic having my first post about a non 3D game. Nevertheless, To The Moon is currently available on Humble Bundle, and if you enjoy a quality, intelligently written story please buy it. It was the most emotional 4 hours of gaming life in the past year, and have to admit in it leaving me with slightly swollen and puffy eyes after I played it this morning. https://www.humblebundle.com/ It costs from only $1 (£0.75) minimum amount for steam keys and includes Papo and Yo (which apparently runs very well in 3D) Bit.Trip Runner 2 (again, apparently very good in 3D) Joe Danger 2 For those that aren't aware, Humble Bundle is a charity site. Please pay more if you are willing, to both help the devs and the charity's they are supporting. You get to decide how the money is split in the purchase. Enjoy!

I just ended up playing Bit.Trip 2 for the past two hours. It's GREAT in 3D! So good! By default it's a really deep game where it's like you're looking deep into a mirror but I messed with the convergence so that it's like the front of the stage is poking out of the monitor. It looks really great! Also, for anyone who is decent at games, you should crank the difficulty up to hard mode. I had it on normal and wasn't having much fun. But after switching it to hard it's actually a really great and enjoyable challenge. Try it out!

For those who want to check out Runner 2's 3D, I took some screenshots. Here's how I've enjoyed playing it, popping out of the screen. I can also vouch for To The Moon - that game definitely left me with tears in my eyes.

So what's the verdict on Reus and Surgeon Simulator 2013?

Surgeon Simulator is fun, but reasonably broken in 3d.

Did you try GoogleEarth? Sometimes it 'kind of' works with some 2D games.

Thanks for the tip. Using the Google Earth profile activates the 3D. But now I'm getting some weird effects. I currently have the depth at 3 bars. Increasing the depth makes the effects a lot worse. Also I'm unable to increase the convergence at all. I tried using Chiri's convergence unlock tool, but no help. http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/4everAwake/image/52d0b0fdcb85773e5900003c/

That's kind of typical with that profile (not the weird effects but the having to lower depth and convergence not working), there's so many odd ones that actually wind up doing something to certain games, I remember Hot Chix 'n' Gear Stix worked for one I was messing around with. I made a utility that works off of the renaming method and a list, it renames the exe (and _data folder if present) and then runs it, if there's no _data folder and more than 1 exe in the folder it asks which one to rename. It stores the original name as a variable and as long as you exit properly it'll rename it back to what it was originally, it even keeps track of where it left off on the list, so when it's going through the master list (4000+ exe names) it knows where to pick up again. As it is now it'll ask whether to save the profile to another list or not, I'd still have to finalize it for mainstream use but that also needs a better/smaller list to work off of. If you're interested in messing around with it I could send you a copy of the script and the list, just keep in mind it needs a bit of work ... don't go picking on my code. Lol. :)

See if it is there in the "undefined" section at the bottom: 0x00161903 and the value of "1" disables 3d, so set it to "0". Might be a red herring, but its something else to try.

It looks 2D to me[hand drawn] and not layered like rayman origins. I could be wrong but I don't think you will get results. If you ever run into a game that doesn't initiate use wow.exe / world of warcraft Googleearth is basically only used for games where a game isn't really 3d but will give you "fake 3d" results. Think like Tridef's z-buffer but worse. I could tell you how to unlock the convergence but it serves no purpose.

Yeah I thought for sure Reus was layered, but I guess not. I'm having a somewhat similar problem with another game I just bought (Marlow Briggs-- currently on Amazon Editors list). 3D doesn't turn on at all (green light doesn't come on) no matter what profile I try. I even tried using a debug dll, but still nothing. I opened up all the game config files with notepad, but I couldn't find any settings related to stereo 3D. The store page on Steam says the game is DX9. Its 100% 3D but if its opengl that doesn't matter. See if tridef will launch it, thats an easy way to check for most part.
