So I just bought the 3D Vision Kit, Samsung 2233RX. I debated the Acer 1080p monitor for quite some time but my 22" barely fits in my hutch as it is. Also, I didn't want my games to take a performance hit by playing in a higher native resolution. 1680x1050 has served me fine so far.
My question then, is whether or not I will be able to watch the upcoming 3D Blu Rays on my 22" 1680x1050. Yes the monitor and video card are HDCP compliant, but with all the news swirling about nvidia debuting 3D blu ray with the new 1080p 120hz sets, noone has said whether the 3D effect will be supported by smaller 3D Vision compatible monitors.
I hope the answer is yes. I don't think the downscaling in resolution will be a problem for me. I just want to watch 3D movies this summer with my new expensive kit as well as play games, and not have to try to return my new monitor for a larger one.

I think on the lower end display already out 3d blu-ray will play ok via nvidia 3d vision ... and if it dont iam sure someone will come along and make it work :)
Acer has already tested a 3d blu-ray on its h5360 and working well from what i read.
Lets hope sony dont force something on us that is not needed.

You got a source on that? I would be very interested if that worked.
Also, I think Samsung only had exclusive on Monsters vs Aliens for a few months. Then it will go on sale.
I bought Journey To The Center Of The Earth on 3D Blu Ray, only to realise when opening it that it uses the cyan/red glasses that were included rather than left/right imaging.
Are there any Blu Ray discs available at the moment that support left/right nVidia type set up?
Also, how are you meant to know if it's left/right or cyan/red when buying?

There is only one 3D BluRay out now, Monsters vs Aliens, but it is exclusive to the Samsung bundle. I believe the logo on the top of the box says "BluRay 3D". Just look for this logo:

But, of course, you won't get maximum quality from movies in 1080p (whatever).
