Upgrade processor for 3D Vision advice
I have a AMD AM2+ Chipset on my motherboard and currently have a quad 2.3 AMD processor in there. I am seeing that I can put a AM3 processor in there and was contemplating getting a quad 3.4 (they are only $199). Will I notice a significant difference in my gaming. I have a EVGA GTX470OC and 4G of DDR2 RAM.

Any advice??

Stick a Phenom II x4 965BE in there, i'm using ona on an AM2+ board at the min, fantastic processor for the money.

It's currently running at 3.8Ghz and there's more in it yet :P

There are two versions of this processor though, the newer one being a 125w TDP revision, tends to overclock better and runs cooler in general.

But do I get a significant increase in FPS?

I bet yes.

Your current CPU does not match your video card in terms of performance. Changing from a AMD Athlon FX60 (2x 3Ghz) to an Intel Q6600 (4x3.3Ghz) made all my games smoother amd framerates higher with my old 280GTX.
