[quote]Rockstar's announced LA Noire for release on PC this autumn.

The PC version is being developed by Rockstar Leeds, will run on "a wide range of PCs" and feature customization, including keyboard remapping and gamepad functionality, says Rockstar.

More excitingly, the house of GTA promises improved graphical enhancements and 3D support for the mouse and keyboard version.

"L.A. Noire is a new type of game that makes players see through a detective's eyes in 1940s Los Angeles," said Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games. "Its unique blend of story, action and crime solving will be perfect to play on PC."

The console version of the Team Bondi-developed crime thriller was released in May, quickly shipping 4 million units to become the fastest-selling new game IP in UK history.

Good news.......in the fact that Rockstar seems to be supporting the PC. NOW GIVE US RED DEAD YOU freakS.

However having gotten through the first half of the game, it's pretty much crap. The game gets so repetitive and boring that I just quit. Think of an old school adventure game, now take out any challenge and puzzles and their is LA Noire. Someone gets murdered. Go talk to people. Doesn't matter at all if you ask the right questions. Case solves itself. REPEAT.

I'm not joking. Everything from the driving, to the shoot outs, to the side missions are really bad. /wallbash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wallbash:' /> /wallbash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wallbash:' />

The facial animations are really cool, but still have those creepy soulless eyes.

The whole game involves looking at faces and you choose if they are telling a lie, truth, or you can doubt them. It's so retarded that if they don't look around they are telling the truth. If they look around you doubt them. If they look around and you have contradictory evidence then you accuse them of lieing. Thats the whole game and it doens't even matter if you get every question wrong. You still solve the case. No wonder South Park made fun of the game.

I have to admit at first I loved it. But 9 hours into a 20 hour game of doing the same thing over and over I starting feeling like I should be getting paid for playing this.

BTW, I loved Heavy Rain.

Despite some of the negatives I read about the game I will get it. It's nice to have a game in a setting that isn't what we always see nowadays.

Bad like Mafia 2 bad or worse? Because even if it's gameplay was a little boring i actually liked it because of the 3d and physX.

Yea, I got the game. It is repetitive and I can only play 1 case a week. I won't get this for PC even though I would have loved for it to have been announced before the PS3/360 releases.

I will get Red Dead however, if it comes on the PC.

Yeah like everyone else that bothered to post about the game I won't be getting this I hope it gets scrapped before release when they notice how few people with 3d systems care about it.

No! Please DONT make the game >3D-Ready< !! Most of the so called 3D-Ready-Games of the last months were very problematic. Please built in some options to deacitivate 2D-Effects which are placed wrong in 3D-Space when playing the game in 3D!!

If you don't like the game that's cool. But I would like to point out that if you have only played halfway through the game, you really haven't played the game. The first half is basically just there to warm you up for the real story. At about halfway through the cases get much longer and some have multiple people to charge with the crime, so not getting the right answers does make a large difference. Plus as to getting questions right, if your just picking one answer without really thinking about it and then moving on, not really caring if you get them right, then your not into the spirit of the game and in my opinion you are not even trying to enjoy it.

You are correct about the facial animations however, they are absolutely amazing. I don't know if it is because they used actors or not, but however they did it I have never seen anything close to it in a game. As far as the eyes go, I don't think Ive ever really seen any game capture them very well.

I don't give a rats ass about the side missions, I only care about the main plot line in games like this. Speaking of plot line, if you only played halfway through you may not realize that there is a much bigger overarching storyline that encompasses your cases, your military service, and also the flashes you get from reading newspapers.

Anyway I find it to be a strong innovative game. And saying it is not a challenge, and then saying it doesn't matter what you do in response to answers to your questions, is kind of a contradictory point of view. The challenge of the game is in getting your responses correct. If you are not doing that then of course it will seem easy, and yes you will get a resolution to your case, although sometimes it will not be the correct one. Also part of the challenge is in how good of a rating you get when you finish the cases. With the way you apparently play you will get very low case scores, and likely will charge the wrong person in the later cases.

Last thing, if you have played halfway through the total number of cases, you haven't played even close to halfway through the game, as the cases get a lot longer with many more clues, locations POIs and suspects etc. As well as the cases haveing much deeper and more interesting backgrounds and stories. Plus you don't stay in homicide, so the cases change quite a bit in vice and arson, where you are usually not investigating a murder directly, although occasionally murders are part of your cases peripherally.

Anyway not trying to be a jerk not every game is for everyone, I just felt like you dismissed a good game out of hand. And I would like to suggest that if you have played about half of the cases, to pick up the game again, as you are just about to start the really interesting parts of the game.

If your saying the game really picks up later on, I may try it again. I put 9 hours in and just started finding the game a chore to play through. If this game supports 3D vision surround, then I would be interested.

AGAIN, WHERE THE **** IS RED DEAD ROCKSTAR /argh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':argh:' /> /argh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':argh:' />

L.A. Noire can be pre-purchased on Steam, no release date is given.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/110800/

It's being called a "Complete Edition" and includes all previously released DLC for the console versions.

(copied from Steam page)
New for the PC Version

NVIDIA 3D Vision (...but we've all heard that before /yes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> )
Enhanced resolutions and graphical performance
Keyboard mapping
Gamepad support

I'll be missing out on the 10% off because I'll only be buying it when the 3D is confirmed.

I will pick this up also if I hear the 3D vision implementation is done properly, which includes having actual control over depth in the game unlike Deus Ex.

Fortunately, I will be playing Batman:Arkham City and Skyrim before I plan on buying this game so I should have an idea of how well it works when it comes time to buy a new game.
