How to fix/disable shaders in games(DLL,guide and fixes).

My thanks to Helix and everyone else thats digging in, those are amazing results. /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

What kind of programming and mathematical background would be required to help make actual changes? I know i little C++. Also, any chance of a OpenGL wrapper out of this? Sorry in advance if thats dreaming a little too big for people's free time...

Here are a couple 3D pics showing the fixes in action. The first two are the updated indoor fixes and the last two are outdoors:

A little off-topic but while I was tagging my 3D pics I saw a couple of my Amalur ones. This is another game that looks great in 3D thanks to the wonderful fixes found here with this tool:

Yep looks really great lol, I will be busy this weekend making new videos and screenshots. Still a few small things I'd like to tweak with HeliX mod but as usual will need more guidance/assistance from the maestro himself. /rofl.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Things I still want to fix/tweak with Skyrim:

1) Adjust separation of arms in combat mode - this will allow higher convergence and better 3D for distant objects without breaking focus too much on arms/weapons at higher depth settings.

2) Push books/parchment back in inventory view - text is broken right now with high depth HUD text.

3) Push lockpick view back - looks a little bit close in default view, may be OK for some people.
I already have the vertex shaders profiled, maybe easier if I just attach them for HeliX to look at when you have time?

Click the guides. I think the second one gives the demo of original shader code and shows the end result of how 2d->3d is achieved at depth range.

Chiz, did you upload Helix's latest version with interior water fixes to the nexus already? Thanks again for keeping everything in one place for everyone.

Yep np, its been a fun project for sure!

Nexus version is up-to-date as of the last 2 fixes HeliX made for Mike/Arioch, if you have a broken shader just re-download the V2.2 version as I'm updating it in real-time. I've just been deleting and re-uploading the updated versions as its not worth a new version I don't think for the real-time shader updates/fixes from HeliX.

This is HUGE!
Water looks fabulous now. I even tried it out with the Realistic Water mod and it works perfect.
Thank you guys for ALL the Skyrim fixes and 3D improvements!

And big thanks again to everyone involved on this amazing project of fixing games thanks to Helix's wrapper!
I would like to help, but I really know nothing about this stuff. I was messing around with Dead Space 2 but I had to forget about it. Too many shaders need modifications and they look too complex to me. I'm gonna look up to Left 4 Dead 2 this weekend and see if I get something useful out of it.

Cheers.

Trust me, theirs nothing wrong with giving up on dead space 2. I tried it and spent like 30 mins....my eyes were hurting.

While you guys are playing around with testing. If you uploaded a before/after picture to 3d live. Id be grateful.
Just finishing up on last pages and would like to get them all done in one shot.

Its a fair-sized download, but worth it if you have not yet taken the plunge with the HeliX mod and want to see what it has done for Skyrim. All credit to HeliX - awesome stuff.

Apparently this mp4 file wont play properly in Nvdia 3d vision player without some third party codecs. Format will be converted to resolve this issue. It works in PowerDVD.

@helix

Its not a big deal and by no means should you try to fix it. Just reporting that when I tried any of the debugs on Fable 1(Probably game is hella old..vs_1_1). It would not dump the individual files. However since the new debug rocks(proper numbering). I just did the dumpall dx9settings and am working that way.

FABLE 1
(THIS IS NOT FABLE 3)

The first fable and ironically the only good fable. Its a super old classic so I just removed stuff that needed to be removed. I dont know how the old shader terms that well so couldn't fix the hud. Which is not to big of a deal. Wierd glowing around characters is gone, trees past a distance that show up in only one eye gone, Bright messed up sky gone (looks normal now). Originals of each shader are included.

Ok made it! ..And that should be the final version! :)
I've fixed the doubling issue and I've imposed a saturation level for colors... now the game should look well I suppose (make me know if you have any suggestion).

There where two vertex shaders for the water, one for the superior surface and the other that simulated the seabed. At first I've tried to fix the superior surface thinking the doubling was a plane's shadow issue but I've not been getting any good result.. then I noticed that decreasing convercence caused the doubling halo to disappear... so at the end I've removed the doubling issue by modifying the old water shader adding a 'slt' instruction, so that it can change convercence value's sign when it is less than the actual vertex depth value.

I attach the complete shaderoverride folder, an image of the final version and an image with the game in its original state (should be good for the wiki..)

@Helix: Great job for skyrim fixes! It's a great game and it deserves this treatment! :)
