Confused: is there a Helix DX11 wrapper?

Unfortunately, I already have maximum pre-rendered frames set to 1 in my global settings, so it doesn't seem to be that.

Someone said it only happened to him in Bioshock Infinite with SLI. You could try it, your rigged out enough to get away with it. Not sure why it would happen in SLI though *shrug*. It was mentioned somewhere earlier in this thread though.

hmm, I wonder if it only happens with SLI in Metro Last Light as well? I'll try both games and report back.

I've uploaded a screenshot of the shadow bug I was talking about. In each case, the shadow is abruptly cut as shown, but only in one eye (the shadow is fine in the other eye). Once you start noticing it, it occurs quite a lot. I'm assuming it's been happening on your systems too, but that you don't have my keen graphic designer's eyes so you missed it :P As for the other issue (objects disappearing on the edge of the frame as you pan the camera), I can confirm that disabling SLI *partly* alleviates it, but the problem is still there. It still occurs, but even further to the edge of the screen (you'll only ever notice it if you're looking there). I tested in Bioshock Infinite helix mod and Metro Last Light. Same story in both (problem exists in both SLI and single GPU, but worse in SLI). The reason it's particularly noticeable at the baptism is because it tends to glitch out the water reflections there when it happens, so you see large light areas popping out as you pan. I can also confirm that (apart from the abovementioned bug), the water at the beginning of Bioshock Infinite looks great in single GPU mode. As others have said, it's broken only in SLI.

Some of these issues are listed on the post he made where that has the link to the fix: Know issues: 1. SSAO (ambient occlusion) should be on NORMAL or below. 2. distant lights cutoff. 3. some reflections can be 2D. 4. water reflections cuts at right corner. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/570351/confused-is-there-a-helix-dx11-wrapper-/?offset=165#3886860 I know the distant light cutoff is what it looked liked in Far Cry 3 running in DX9. I think he stated that he can't fix that problem. I know dropping SSAO to Normal fixed the shadow issues I was noticing.

oh, ok. Perhaps I misunderstood his post. He wrote "All minor issues should be fixed by now." at the bottom of that post, so I took it to mean that I could use whatever SSAO I wanted. At any rate, I'm sure he'll fix what he can, when he can. I'm happy to wait till all the DLC is out anyway before I replay the main game.

Just to clarify, is there gonna be a DX11 debugger that works just like this: http://helixmod.blogspot.se/2012/04/how-to-guide-remove-effects-from-game.html I mean will you be able to remove effects/shaders in DX11 games? I'm not even a 3D gamer but this tool is brilliant for removing HUDs and unwanted effects in games

Ctrl-F11 by default.

The biggest issue i have noticed is in Hall of Heroes - Asian boxers display. The snow or other particles looks like huge triangles and fly all over this place. Hard to see anything. It is pretty similar to that effect when you overclock your GPU and it overheats. Also i got all the wrong shadows and light effects mentioned before. Not a big deal tho - i know WIP.

The only downside is that for some games the framerate drops as well (Far Cry 3 for example), but it's worth a try just in case. I will also say that for some games the framerate improves, so it's a pot luck all round...

Thanks guys. Changing frustrum does help a bit, though it breaks the aspect ratio and makes everything fatter. Togging laser sight didn't seem to change anything. Anyway, it's a minor thing. Like I said, it happens throughout Metro Last Light, but I played through that whole game and only noticed it a few times. Bioshock Infinite is so special that I'd recommend those who haven't played it to wait until Helix says his mod is ready. But it's certainly playable in its current state - especially if you don't have SLI that breaks the water at the beginning.

I hate to bump this thread but has there been any word at all about this wrapper? I really just love 3D, but I was just watching some youtube videos earlier and getting excited about some new games coming out. Then i thought about how most of them wont be working in 3D and it kind of got me down. I hate to sound impatient, because i know these things take time. But i just hate the thought of not being able to play some great games in 3D. Im playing throught the bf4 campaign now and it just doesnt feel the same in 2D. I keep switching back and forth between 2D and 3D and just feel like im missing part of the game. I really wish 3D vision was the standard.

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. Instead of altering their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views ... which can be very uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.
