How to fix/disable shaders in games(DLL,guide and fixes).
  37 / 167
@mana84
Arent shadows usually at least two files? Like a pixel shader and a vertex shader? I will attach all of the ones from darkness 2. Helix is the only one who has done shadow work so if you cant understand his files, will probably have to wait for response from him.
I will see if i can sift more examples since I got all of his fixes in a folder.
All of them are relating to shadows. Besides maybe the one in amalur's vertex shader(I believe it is)

@artox/mana84
Yeah I finished the batch files to automatically change the settings. I just wanted to see if it could be done. Which it can.
Basically it changes the depth from mana's setting of 1.0 for higher depth
Or it changes depth to .45 for lower
undoto recommend reverts it back .7

@Mana84
I just tried your patch and it works real good. Definitely like it more then original. Would def benefit from that right click laser sight though. Do you want me to include it on your page? I didn't run into any issues but I play on low convergence that artox ran into.

Added Gothic 3 to gamespage.

hi guys,

could someone try to fix shaders in red faction guerilla steam's version please, it would be great, thank you very much in advance.

yea on high convergence the hud comes nearer to the screen depth and it doesn't help, the constant depth values I've chosen are tested with default convergence value. If someone want to increase convergence, he have to increase c200.x to push object further overcoming convergence point to avoid appearing at screen depth. So at the end:

- lot of depth = increase c220.x
- lot of covergence = increase c220.x (same of above :) )

unfortunately doesn't exist a unique value that is good for all convergence/depth settings, if with your setting the hud is too near to screen depth, you have to increase c200.x to a more confortable value.

@eqzitara: thank you so much for your help with shadows and other! I'll give shadows' files a look later today. Ty for doing batch files, I hope it can help each user to increase depth to their preference easily!
Yea if you wish you can add that right click laser sight to me1 page, it's nice for me... I've tried to edit that page with my account but I think that I can't becouse you are the autor of that page.. no problem though /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
Ah and you could have right that there is also a pixel shader for shadows but there are about 10000 of them in me1, so it's really difficult to found it :(

another thing I missed to say before is that there is another vertex shader for shadows that I've not posted, but tweaking it lends same results as tweaking the other one, and balancing the two is the same for me... it has to be something I don'w know about..

Helix mod 3d vision game fixes

Please help! /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':smile:' />

I just bought Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (via Steam) just because there is a 3D-vision fix for it, but it crashes when i try to start the game.

Every other fix i tried does work, e.g. for Darkness 2.

Does anyone maybe have a tipp how to get this work?
Please help! /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':smile:' />

@chiz In Borderlands sniper scopes were drawn at wrong depth if I remember correctly. Anything you've looked at?
It depends when you played it last I think. Borderlands came out with a pretty big update that made it 3D Vision compatible and Nvidia revised its rating to Excellent as a result. It still had some issues but 3D crosshair and scoped/zoom was definitely fixed from the point I bought it. Scoped zoom basically pushes everything to max separation so its flat, but accurate aiming.

I made a few minor changes to push HUD to 3D for better compatibility and enemy icons/hp bars/name plates are also much more accurate as a result, you can see results here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isJbOFdcdSE&feature=channel

There's still a few issues from the original implementation that I may take another look at. The other thing is ironsights don't line up well at higher depth/convergence settings, so I may take a look at that as well. Scope/normal 3D crosshair work around this by pushing everything to max separation.

@Markus71 I bought AC:Revelations during Steam sale too, haven't had a chance to try it been busy but I will try it in a few and see what's going on with it.

Now i tried the fix i found here : http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=197468&st=0&p=1361452&hl=brotherhood&fromsearch=1&#entry1361452 and it seems to work, but i haven't tried 3D yet.

Could it be that the files i found on http://helixmod.wikispot.org/gamelist are maybe the wrong ones?

You most likely need the fix for Revelations here: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=217120&view=findpost&p=1359426

Revelations and Brotherhood fixes were created before HeliX made his mod and tools "user-friendly" so I imagine there are some differences in the library itself and perhaps the way the shaders are read also.

Ah, sorry thought I read Revelations lol, anyways glad Brotherhood works for you.

I did end up testing Revelations 1.03 anyways however and found some disappointing results. It seems as if 1.03 in the process of fixing some things in 3D, breaks or changes the shader CRCs so most of HeliX's original mods fixes don't work anymore. For example, I can't get 3D HUD with HeliX's mods. I also tried loading up the updated debugger and it doesn't seem like the debugger can read the UI shader anymore, maybe its hidden now idk.

Anyone else able to replicate? Big disappointment if this is the case, I may have to look at rolling back to 1.02 but its Steam version so that may not be possible.....

WAIT.
Before you go crazy. First try to play game without d3d9.dll make sure its not the game itself. Then always go to installation guide/known issues. Did you disable steamcloud for example, some games work with it active some dont. http://helixmod.wikispot.org/How_To_Install
We will gladyly help you with any issues once you do this.

My money is on steam cloud. Also this version is newer. http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2012/02/assasins-creed-brotherhood.html

added POP to wiki. You been busy = )
I hope word of mouth starts spreading us about more so more people can try your games. Its a real good thing I switched to new system, so I can just update wiki if anyone wants to put anything up as I delve into me3. I really like the color scheme(vibrant and full of life) that POP 08 uses and with your fixes it will be good to look at as a game on my list to play after ME3. POP 10 looks like assasin's creed to me lol. I was like oh he uploaded wrong image....wait.
@mana84
Added crosshair file(instructions are are included in zip. I wrote that on the page).If you ever want to update it or whatever just let me know and I will take down the page and let you put it up with you as author(I can give you the html just so you can paste it and be done). Or I can attach files to it. Whichever, I am game.

hi guys,

could someone try to fix shaders in red faction guerilla steam's version please, it would be great, thank you very much in advance.
I took a look at this game a while back and it's sequel Red Faction Armageddon. I couldn't get either of them to work with any version of the debugger. It would crash on some versions and some versions it would run but not debug.

I think that Helix already said that these games are coded weird and can't be fixed but don't take my word on that. Guerilla is not bad in 3D if you turn the graphics down but Armageddon is terrible, maybe the worst I have ever seen. The shaders are a nightmare and there is haloing and ghosting everywhere.

Until someone more advanced than myself can find a fix for what ails these games they are probably gonna stay off the to do list. Sorry.

I've found the pixel shader that is related to the vertex shader that draws shadows (after a lot of searching), but I cannot find a way to fix that..
my idea was to put vertex in correct position to avoid the doubling halo around characters in vertex shader (and this is ok now), then reposition shadow texture by moving coordinates in the following pixel shader:

this is the original code that I have to modify, but I don't understand what I've to move here... I've already experimented a lot but I've not understand how to solve rendering in single eye issue and it's really hard to solve this problem without that intuition..

Helix mod 3d vision game fixes

I think you're pretty close, did you check HeliX's fixes for refraction shader for Skyrim? Pretty sure he did the same, corrected vertex position in vertex shader, then pass that vertex to pixel shader. But VPos was incorrect, so he recalculated vertex position in pixel shader.

If you check his Skyrim water fixes, look in Pixelshaders directory and 20C8D7EE.txt and see if that helps.
