What's your favorite game in 3D?

The 3D in trine 2 is really nice, but i don't know why people like it so much, there is really no ghosting in the game, but i like much more the expecience of 3D on First person or Third person games, such as Just Cause 2/Batman/Battlefield etc... but yes trine 2 is nice in 3D.
I think it is one of those: to each their own situations. I completely understand why someone would enjoy the experience of a well done 1st/3rd person game, particulaly the stonking JC2. The gameworld looks massive and the vistas go on and on and on - brilliant! I have the superman mod and enjoy loading up a save point. The savepoint is at daybreak, and the checkpoint looks out onto a mountain road. I fly out across the road and off the cliff and as daybreaks the scene opens up and you get the full scope of the Panou islands. I use this to blow people away with 3D. It always succeeds.

But there is something special about Trine 2's graphics. I think the player characters are actually pretty weak compared to the rest of the game and I now skip past the odd steam punk elements. The landscape is stunning. So intricate and detailed. The mist is really fluid, things like the little flowers look like ornaments and many of the wooden objects have that broken down dusty feel to them. I wanted to replace each of those adjectives with organic because that is what the game feels like to me. I think Trine 2 is beautiful.

So far, what I have enjoyed the most is portal 2, tf2, hard reset, dawn of war 2, trine (can't wait to play the sequel), jc2, bf:bc2, sonic generations/allstars racing, and crysis 2 (really can't see what everyone's problem is with that one, the convergence is fine). Next games I'm playing: batman series, fallout3+nv, dirt3 and alice. Can't say I regret one cent of my 3d vision investment so far despite a few games I was disappointed to find out they don't work well (dirt 2, crysis 1, lego harry).

after owning my 3D setup for less than 2 weeks my favs are..

Metro2033 (AMAZING how much 3D adds to the atmosphere, you can tell this game was made for 3D)
Skyrim (AMAZING, will never play skyrim in 2D again)
Trine 2 (only played the demo, but by far the best example of artistic 3D implementation)

Skyrim really? - Did you use special mods or tweaks? Trine 2 is an absolute blast, but Skyrim, New Vegas (pretty much that Bethesda engine) doesn't cut it for me out of the box!

Another title worth mentioning is Dungeon Siege III, excellent 3D implementation. Alan Wake has also recently been upgraded with better 3D Vision implementation, it still has a few issues, but it's an amazing (and freakish) experience in 3D.

I absolutly love skyrim in 3D, it totally adds so much more to the experiance. Sprawling vistas, awesome dungeons, fire reining down from a dragon, all soo much better in 3D. It is modded but it worked beautifully even before that

Currently running:

Complete 3D compatibility mod (with helixs fix)
HD textures
Enhanced night
Enhanced rain/wind/fog
Enhanced thunder
Enhanced fire/smoke/embers
Enhanced snow/ice
SkyUI
Auto Unequip Arrows

I havent tried many games in 3D yet, but just finished playing Avatar: The Game on HMZ-T1 with 3D mode active... wow, I felt like being on Pandora. Ive played this game earlier in 2D on monitor, and graphics was nothing special. But this Sony helmet makes it photorealistic, and huge screen adds alot to immersion. I couldnt care less about quests and shooting, was just walking around and staring at beautiful vistas. Now I need to try Skyrim and Witcher 2 ^^

Yes, Skyrim with Helix mod is very immersive, i have finished Mass Effect 3 in 3D With Helix fix also, and omg i love that game, some 3D problems but the game itself in a 3D perspective is great, every time i saw a reaper "ship" i stopped fighting and keep staring at it.

Witcher 2 is also great in 3D, Just Cause, Mafia II, La Noire, Batman, Hard Reset, Trine 2, Battlefield 3, Playing alan wake with the latest patch i got an acceptable 3D effect, just some specific shaders are bugged but it is much better than the first version of the game. and the list goes on, i really don't know what is my favorite, i love a lot of details in each of those and others that i can't remember right now, i really hope the market keep growing with 3D games, because they are just too awesome i really can't play if not in 3D.

I hear ya man, I find myself playing more and more in 3D, or going on the web to find out if an upcoming games support it. It's hard to go back!

The problem with Skyrim is I have to drop down to 720p for 3D which is a big difference on a 100" screen compared to 1080p, I didn't think the 3D was very good (in terms of depth) but I might give it another shot with the Helix mod.

Too bad Mass Effect series don't support gamepad, I play on a projector in the living room, no chance in using Mouse/Keyboard

Helix mod fixed a lot of bugs and if you adjust the convergence i always use high values, you get a nice experience, well skyrim is already a great experience, with the 3D it just gets better.

About the Mass Effect, yes it does not support but if like me you have played ME1 and ME2, ME3 is a must, so you could try using Joy 2 Key or something like that to map the keyboard to controller buttons and play it on the controller.

What Projector do you have, does it do 1080p 2D? And please tell me do you notice a lot of difference when going from 1080p 2D to 720p 3D in games, even with AA maxed? I also have a projector, mine is 720p Benq W700 3D Vision Ready Projector with a 88´´ screen and I love playing in 3D with it. Havent tried any other display, though.

Cheers

Rayman Origins!!

As much as I love Trine 2 (don't get me wrong), yesterday I bought the full version of Rayman Origins, played with conversion settings, it is MINDBLOWING and way better than the demo!

I'm playing with an Xbox controller so I can sit further away from my screen which adds a lot more depth.

First time ever event, at a certain point a createture came popping out of the screen and I almost fell of my chair SERIOUSLY!

I own an Optoma HD33 (the US model is called 3300 I believe) it's the best PJ I've owned and have seen so far considering the soft pricetag. 2D 1080p is stunning, 3D depth is better then in most cinemas imho. I was a bit worried about the shutterglass technology, but I spend long gaming sessions up till 4 or 5 hours without any problems, headaches or tired eyes. I honestly can't imagine why ppl are spending thousands of dollars on TVs anymore as the sheer joy of cinema at home and games in 3D on a 100" screen wins easily over any normal sized display I know of.

Going back to 720p for 3D is noticable (especially in games with high resolution textures such as Skyrim with the HD pack), but keep in mind you PC needs twice the processing power for 3D and in most cases wouldn't be able to run 1080p 3D for heavy games to begin with, even if it was supported. HDMI 1,4 is too blame for not supporting 3D at 1080p 60hz, not so much the manufacturer of the device. I don't see any movement on that front, unless DVI-I becomes a standard, considering other devices such as amplifiers and media centers are just starting to move to HDMI 1.4, don't count on it any time soon.

Currently playing Gatling Gears. I'm at level 2. It's a topdown-shooter. Right now I'm in the mountains and the snow is falling INTO my screen.
Really 1 of the best 3D I've seen so far.

Gattling Gears is awesome...thanx for the recommend! Just started playing the survival mode and was very impressed...I set depth low and convergence high and all the robots pop out so well!
