Bioshock 2 : 3D Vision setup How to setup Bioshock 2 for a better 3D effect.
1 / 5
Hey guys,
I'v been playing around with some of the Graphical options in Bioshock 2 trying to find a temporary solution to produce a some what better 3D effect. Heres what i've come up with.
Keep in mind my OS is Windows 7 x64 and im using the newest drivers.
1. Go to : Set up stereoscopic 3D settings in your Nvidia control panel.
2. Under :Chang 3D laser sight, set it so its at the very first one (The small round red circle with 4 corners)
3. Start up Bioshock 2
4. Go to Graphic options and shut off :High Detail Post Processing
5. Shut off :Real Time Reflections
6. Jump into the game and hit CTR + F12 to pull up your 3D laser sight.
7. Set your depth so that the Green bar hits the "T" at the end of "amount". Basically 76% depth. You can also manually set it up while changing the 3D laser sight.
I hope this helps, i know its not a fix but it does seem to make a big difference for me. At least now the laser sight hairs seem to line up.

So you disabled the crosshair, the dynamic shadows are at the correct depth and there are no outline problems with the fog? Impressive, how did you do it?

How did you disable the crosshair and how did you get the shadows to work at the correct depth, what depth % are you playing it? Can you post a jps screenshot so others can see how it is done?

I haven't disabled anything all standard everthing set to max 100% depth il post a jps later on maybe even a stereo clip

Are you using the new beta driver or something, because that seems very unlikely, unless you simply aren't noticing the issues with the fog, dynamic shadows and doubled crosshair. I get the same problems on my plasma, so I don't think it is simply limited to LCDs (I don't think it works ike that anyway)

The in-game crosshair is at screen level and the rendering issues are issues within the engine and not a product of the display device used. Display devices can alleviate things like ghosting, but it won't magically make the crosshair disappear or become a 3d crosshair, nor will it affect the depth level of shadows or other rendering problems. Those are all engine and driver related.
Does anyone else with a DLP have a 3d in-game crosshair (not the nv red one, but the in-game one)? Also, does anyone else with a dlp have none of the rendering issues with max settings? I am going to need conformation.

I have the same DLP HL61/750 and I will go out and buy it tomorrow. I agree with you, I think they are incorrect. I will let you know around 4pm central tomorrow

From the comments I have read so far I'm guessing I'm not the only one experiencing FoV issues? Glad, I thought I was going a bit mental... How do they manifest for you? Feelings of nausea after a while of gaming?

Pls give me some feed back on if this helps.
Thank you,

Like the 1st poster said.. Disable post processing. Everything else can leave on.
May have to Alt+Tab out then back in to get 3d to toggle.
Disable the option that shows your helmet in the menu.
I'm using about 40 percent depth and a little convergence.
It looks pretty good sometimes, but this game really needs AA
and a field of view fix.
Here are some screenies :)
