3D Vision install loop problem- blank screen on startup
Had a problem so I removed the drivers to reinstall. When restarting after installing the Nvidia display drivers on CD 1.20 (which worked fine for me before), Windows symbol and welcome screen show up, display reports 1080p (not no signal), but then it goes totally blank.

I think it's trying to auto-install the 3DVision drivers, which is the next automated step of the install CD image when I run it, but it's not working somehow and getting stuck there. How did you resolve? I've tried de-install, safe mode works then I can run driver sweeper, but then reboot/reinstall and it happens again. Also Vista is trying to auto-load a driver for my GTX285 after the reboot and it doesn't ask me so I can't stop it. Any ideas?

Yep I get this, I do have 2 monitors hooked up.
Nothing is ever easy when it comes to drivers being installed or 3D I tell ya.
One day I will be able to just turn my PC on without having to troubleshoot something in regards to Graphics drivers etc.
This is mainly the case when running dual screen setup anyway.

I wish it didn't try to automate the 3D setup once you have done a new driver install.
We don't need this much babying Nvidia /verymad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':verymad:' />

Yes, I use a small touchscreen as my secondary monitor. Always has worked fine w/ 3D Vision on the main and using the other to launch programs, etc.. Anyway, I disconnected it as well as an HDMI switcher I have in-line, and went PC direct to monitor, and it worked. Of course it had worked the last 4 driver upgrades w/o having to go through that chore.

Oh, and it lost the ID on the Mitsubishi monitor this time, after all was working well, when I reconnected the HDMI switch. So it wouldn't run the 3D Vison wizard since it thought my 1080p signal was actually 1080i because the switcher was screwing it up. Again, worked before, with this same Nvidia driver. Anyway, I solved that with an EDID minder that keeps the PC thinking only the Mitsu monitor is directly attached. The DVI Doctor did that trick: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product....=1&format=2
