Broken 3D bluray playback since 'fake' 3D driver introduced (unfixable)
  3 / 10
337.50 does work fine without that issue... I'm sick of repoting this over and over again, and they dont fix it. Everyone that can test this, reported same issue in 3D, so I don't understand why they won't do anything about it. It's clearly toaly driver issue. Normal blurays work fine, but 3D is completly broken and unwatchable, if there is any way to watch 3D without the "fake" driver kicking in, please someone explain procedure in details, or how to combine drivers together with older versions of 3D Vision driver, we obviusly need to find a workaround, as nvidia won't even admit there is a problem, yet alone work on it.

I can also confirm, 337.50 doesn't have the issue. Glad I'm not alone, it was driving me mad.
This seems correlated to the introduction of the fake-3D/CM drivers. A couple of things worth trying based on that thought. Enable the advanced options in 3D control panel. Then, when running blu-ray, try hitting ctrl-alt-F11, which disables fake-3D in games. The fake-3D is also not kicking in on games without profiles. Try using NVidia Inspector to delete the profile for your video playback software. That would force fake-3D off.
PowerDVD and TMT 5/6 do not have profile options, and the control function does nothing while viewing a 3d bluray. I can also confirm, 337.50 doesn't have the issue. Glad I'm not alone, it was driving me mad. [edit]: FYI, thoe, for WMC playback, the 337.50 still has the 29/59 ehshell.exe crash bug.

There is a CyberLink PowerDVD profile, as well as PowerDVD 9 and 10 profiles, what is the name of the EXE your version is using? PowerDVD.exe is associated with the first profile. You could also try adding it to a DX9 profile, maybe that would keep it from loading whatever it is that's causing the issue?

Nothing of the above works, I've spent hours messing around with cyberlink profiles, deleting them, trying to get some help from cyberlink support, trying to force compatibility mode, nothing... only thing that works in going back to 337.50 or earlier. I wouldnt mind staying at that driver, if I also didnt play games that require updated drivers. In general I feel that nvidia is doing a very poor job with 3D Vision and 3DTV Play is a joke. There should be an effective 3D driver and tool for managing stereoscopic vision for games as well as other apps, now its all just a big mess, totaly not user friendly. Sad thing is that 3rd party software works better, even tho it just emulates 3D features with no hardware support. Nvidia needs to seriusly consider updating 3D support and software, as a paying customers, we are totaly dissapointed, and might consider AMD graphics cards in the future.

With the latest driver (344.11) If I have stereoscopic 3D enabled in the control panel and I'm using my 4k Monitor (instead of the 3D projector) Google Chrome just opens as a blank window! I thought I had a virus at first and was uninstalling chrome, cleaning out the reg etc, reinstalling chrome, Same problem. Only when I Turned off Stereoscopic 3D did Chrome open properly on my 4K monitor! I also got this reply when I PM'd SteveK@Nvidia: "FYI - works fine for me on a PC with Win 7, PowerDVD 13, latest drivers and 720p 3D projector. Sounds like your issue is specific to 4K display?" They haven't even tested 1080p 3D bluray! Everyone PM him with the problem to try and get this brought to their attention! It's getting worse not better!
Question: Is anyone experiencing this issue while running Windows 7? I'm just wondering if it is an 8.1 issue or not.
I have just tested both 337.88 and 337.50 on Win7 with Geforce GTX 770. And get the same result, 337.88 does not work and 337.50 work.

So what do we have to do to get this noticed and fixed? I filed in the report weeks ago, got no answer, this problem persists from 337.88 up, and they won't even confirm that there is a problem. There are a lot of people that watch bluray with their computers on 3D TV. This needs to be adressed.

does that mean Nvidia want us to roll back to the old driver (337.50)? & just keep ignoring the new drivers?!! this is really disappointing, we are waiting since a long time & every time we was putting some hope on the next drivers updates for nothing our waiting will be ended & there will be nothing special in Nvidia if they are going to keep ignoring this issue, I switched to Nvidia since 6 years now, due to the bad support in AMD drivers & I guess Nvidia is going through the same way... they just got enough customers $$$, & now this is the time for ignoring us

I would go for the media box route if it wasn't for my 7.1 active speaker setup and RME fireface with balanced outputs. Someone made an interesting point earlier in this thread about dropped frames when watching films with their pc and none when they swapped to a media streamer or network enabled blu-ray player. I never know whether to set 2D films to 23hz or 24hz! Either way it drops frames using either setting! (On a side note, how annoying is it to have to disable sterescopic 3D in the NCP every time you want to set 24hz for a 2D film!!) They must have seen this thread! It's so patronising and elitist when they think it must be user error or our configurations/setup and just glance over it and move on! We've done all the testing for them and they can't even give us an acknowledgement. I sent this bug in months ago and still nothing! I thought it was just Mac's that didn't support bluray and 3D. I guess it's PC's now! All the people that would have tried 3D since the last driver that worked and just dismissed it as being poor and unwatchable! What are they playing at?

NVidia doesn't make an appearance here very often. Before SteveK dropped in earlier in the year, we'd gone for just about 2 years without a single mod comment, or other post from someone at NVidia. At a very bare minimum, they consider the forum to be user-to-user support and info, and certainly not something they monitor. Not trying to say it's OK, I agree that it's pretty pathetic that they broke blu-ray in recent drivers. That's actually kept me from pulling the trigger on the new cards, I just can't afford to be tied to crappy drivers. But, that's NVidia's MO. Look at the SLI forums, and driver forums. You'll see the same thing. No corporate presence, no communication. Broken stuff like SLI profiles busted for 6 months. Corporations just suck. All of them. They let their corporate lawyers brow-beat them into not allowing anyone to say anything, and you get this total lack of communication, which is counter-productive to their actual business.

337.50 brought some decent driver improvements, but the problem is, that driver still has the ehShell.exe WMC crash bug. I'm using 320.49 myself right now. Without further testing its the only driver I know that can play WMC without issues. So there's two things that I'm held back with.

meanwhile back at the camp.......................... Two things I want 3DTV play for; Watching 3D films and playing 3D games. Now we have fake 3D games and 3D films that don't work. Talk about a broken product. At least we have a sniff that they are 'looking into it' They need to get some better quality assurance, surely this demands a hotfix beta driver. Either that or a refund!

Do you remember last year when you could watch a 3D bluray on pc with an nvidia gfx card???? Ahhhh, those were the days. Do you remember? When shit used to work properly and everything was not real and faked? Q: How many nvidia employees does it take to fix 3D bluray support? A: none, over 6 months and counting. When I were a lad things were done reyt proper like. People had pride in their work and wouldn't send out wonky, broken, useless products (read drivers) and then IGNORE EVERYONE WHO POINTS IT OUT FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE! WTF ARE YOU DOING TO FIX 3D BLURAY NVIDIA?
