Changing Video Cards for 3D Vision Thanks for the help!
I currently have 2 GTX470's. I just recently ordered a EVGA 670 OC+ 4GB card from Tiger and was wondering if I may have made a bad decision. I want to get rid of SLI (for now) and was wondering if I will get at least equal or better FPS with this new card. I game at 1920x1080 with a AMD965BE processor if that helps. So..
Is 4GB of memory overkill (I can change the order to a 680 if neccessary)?
Because 3D vision usually halves the FPS, would having 4GB of memory fix that?
Should I just run 1 mor 470 in 3-way SLI (I have a 950 watt power supply)?
I did some research online but I value the 3D vision guys opinion more.

I'd be interested to know how you get on, but I think you'll probably have reduced framerates.
Adding another card won't help as tri and quad SLI won't benefit 3d on one screen.
Increasing memory won't increase performance as a rule, since you need shaders, rops and fillrate to render/push more pixels for 3d. The exception to this would be if you're running texture mods, high resolutions and or high levels of AA.
Having said all that, you'll definitely have a cooler, quieter room and with new drivers etc. who knows!? The 6 series are very powerful and I thought about upgrading mine, but I'm not sure there would be any benefit vs. 470SLI plus it's quite expensive. I suppose you'd get rid of microstutter, although it doesn't seem to be an issue for me at all.

Thanks for the response. That seems to be the general consensus on the whole thing. I actually just cancelled the order and am going to wait for the next series. It looks like I would have been losing 3-5FPS and I don't ever see microstutter. Better to save up for a bigger and better series.
