3D vision is a scam

Yes I second this. Making nvidia 3DTV play a perk of owning an Nvidia card could do a lot of good for the company. Even if they wanted to charge a fee for their budget range GPU's, they could have it unlock to a code that is tied to the card.. I would have thought anyway. I only game in 3D on an nvidia 3D monitor, but I'd imagine I would get rather frustrated if I tried connecting it to an unsupported TV, or I need the dongle attached even if I never use it. Hopefully these issues can be addressed with Nvidia 3D vision 3. I definitly think Nvidia need to get more active on the 3D vision side of their business, or risk loosing the momentum they created. P.s. did you get a reply yet Alfar?

All i got was a response saying to update to the latest drivers.. It might help but i wouldn't have any clue if it could since my nvidia 3d play trial has run out... unless theres any other way to test if 3d play works then im out of options. It would be a lot more helpful if it said if 3DTV play is compatible without running a trial or buying it.. Hello, Thank you for your submission. Can you try the latest 313.96 beta driver and see if that helps. This new driver should be compatible with most 3D capable TV/Projectors/Receivers available in the market. Please make sure the TV is the primary display if you are running multiple monitors. You can download the 314.07 driver here: http://www.geforce.com/drivers. Best regards, Ray

Buy an nvidia emitter (with out glasses) on ebay etc, and you get 3DTV play included according the nvidias website. You could always resell if it doesn't work.

looked up the emitter and on its own its the same price as the glasses, im from the UK though so 3d vision isn't really that popular around here. i think the only way im going to be able to test it again is to make a fresh install of windows download the trial and test it again, if that even works. They should really add some test compatibility button that will let you know if it will work :S Well, it does work fine like the diagnostic tests show the seperate images correctly and such just having 3d play work is like a completely seperate thing for some reason..
What an annoying situation. Formatting windows will almost certainly allow you to retry it, but seems extreme. Do you not have a friend with a pc you could test your tv on? Can't see the UK price, but its $40 bucks. I would pay the £30 or so to buy the software over reinstalling windows... You can always sell the software i guess if it doesnt work (dont quote me on that, i don't know!). It wipll be worth it though once its all working nice on your tv!

Okay i bought it hoping to fuck it would work, although very doubtful about it.. bought it, and yay it works lols! wooooooooooooooo Weird though.. the 3d really isn't that great, if at all noticable. i noticed in the slide show 3D looked a LOT better in 1080p than 720p .. in 720p i could see a lot of image overlapping... and being sat further away seemed to have a impact.. I have so far tried counter strike source and global offensive, its poop, not noticable at all just a lot of overlapping images... isn't comparing at all to the 3d quality of my xbox 360? :S I remember using iz3d with the free anaglyph cyan/yellow glasses and the 3d looked amazing on that and had more tweaks than just convergance. Maybe im doing something wrong, idk. edit: just tried call of duty at both 1080p and 720p.. exactly the same, if i am sitting you know, at PC level distance from my TV everything just shows as an overlapping image mess.. if i am sitting at couch distance (where i have no where to put my kb & mouse) then everything lines up perfectly, although not that great of 3D compared to my xbox and movies which look perfect even when i am close to the screen.. As for the laser sights they dont really work, i just see two crosshairs side by side no matter what distance and resolution i set.. i am using top and bottom 3d mode, i have no idea how to set it to side by side. but yeah, anaglyph glasses looked a lot better in 3d that it blew my mind, why is my xbox and movies looking better at any range where as for pc i have to sit so far back i cannot control it anymore..

not sure how to check whether its active or passive.. i tried the checkerboard method but it just displays normally like 2D when i activate a 3D resolution this way. as for the model it is BUSH LCD32911FHD3D

You have got depth set WAY to high, making it all seem very 2D and flat and very hard to focus. Put the depth right back to about 20%. Unlock advanced controls in Nvidia and increase convergence (pop out) until the desired level. Once you're used to that depth level, increase it a little until you find a sweet spot.

it was at 15%, it didnt look good even at 10%, by overlapping images i mean the same thing as seeing two of the laser sights, if i sit close (pc distance) from the monitor i am seeing 2 ghost images of the gun on the left and right. although at a decent distance this is fixed, its hardly optimal for gaming.. let alone doesnt really explain why my xbox looks perfect in 3d at the same distance

just tested assassins creed 3 on xbox 360 in 3d, my face has to be almost touching the screen to make me see the ghost images to the side of whatever im looking at... and the distance between the seperate images is comparable to what ive seen on the PC.. just doesn't explain at all why i have to be quite far back for them to blend into one image to create the 3d picture on my pc yet i can almost put my face to the screen on the xbox before the same thing happens.... idk.. as for the advanced settings i cannot find where to enable them anymore, did they remove it? im using newest nvidia drivers.

I googled "Bush 3D TVs" and it looks like yours would be passive. Remember that your eyes need to level with the screen for the glasses to work. If you view the TV at an angle looking up it won't work. Maybe that's why it looks different depending on where you are. As for the 3D effect, 10 or 15% is definitely too low. Crank it up to at least 50% and see what you get.
