Ugh. I was like, yay, I'll finally be able to play gta5 in 3D with my new 970. Surely it's all fixed by now, right? lolnope. I'm plagued by all of the issues described in the last 6 pages. Tons of stereo rendering problems everywhere. Red out of memory message. 3D won't start without alt+enter shenanigans. Truly wish I could just sell this stupid game and forget about it, by now.

Learned my lesson, wont try again.

Just switched to a used 970 last week. I can still run GTA5 without too much trouble. Got the red out-of-mem, but lowered my graphics to 720p to match projector, and it was happy with that. Playing the game itself is nearly flawless, no 3d glitches, no dropouts. Using our fix makes the race markers line up properly. Try lowering your settings, especially stuff that burns VRAM like texture quality. Edit: Also remembered that there are some settings that break the 3D. Can't remember the details, but I know that for example the aiming cursor would be screen depth with one setting enabled. Antialiasing setting? Experiment with them.

I noticed that TXAA is flat-out broken and MSAA causes odd differences in color tone in the left eye, so it seems to be FXAA or nothing. I did have to lower gfx until the mem usage is in the green, not orange. That got rid of the Out of Memory. Even then, when 3D working (after alt+enter of course) all vegatation was fucked. Switched to the MP3 profile, fixed vegetation but broke a bunch of other random geometry, like roofs, traffic lights and such. Really looking forward for another game to take the open world crown so I can move Rockstar to my shitlist where it belongs.

I saw those a long time ago, but not in the last 3 months. R* direct version, not Steam version. I don't need to alt-enter to start, nor change profiles. The vegetation has two problems, one was that on anything higher than 'low', it would draw only in one eye, but SLI only. Setting to low worked fine, but this also was fixed in later drivers. If you are running old drivers for this game, don't. The other possible vegetation problem might be induced by our fix. When adding 3Dmigoto to the game, it would make the vegetation flicker. We think we fixed them all, but might have missed some rare ones. In any case, it is possible to get this working smoothly, and it's worth it. It's really impressive once it's working. R* did piss me off bad with this game though, don't disagree. Their silence on issues, and slowness at fixing 3D problems, force-feeding me updates, and their unbelievably punishing 'support' has also turned from a R* lover to R* hater. No chance am I buying anything R* until a year after it ships. OK. I've had success making the game work after doing a verify integrity on steam and deleting my settings.xml file. this got rid of my Out of Memory error, but I still need to alt+enter in the game, and adjust 3d settings, then it works. however even then the shader fixes don't work for me, with 3dmigoto enabled. markers don't work and there's indeed the flickering grass and foliage in the left eye. that's different than what I was seeing the other time, there was an offset between both eyes like a broken shader, not just vegetation but other geometry. From what I can tell, when it does that it's related to Out of Memory, cause when I force my way around it to make 3D work, that's when this happens. Well anyway, for now I'll try with the GTA profile next time, see what gives.
