haha, dude, seriously amazing find. That is great, I'm going to repost that on the 3D thread on Infinite forums. This is what 3D VR is about! Bless her. Will be buying one the very second the consumer version is out.

Lol. I missed that part the first time.

You miserable old bugger. I'm pretty sure that is just standard banter to get her opening up the video doing something silly. Her face at the end was genuine, i would be very shocked if that wasn't a genuine response. Have you got your rift yet eqzitara? I really want to hear feedback from nvidia 3D users. Maybe you could make a video with your granny too? ;-)

Oh boy!... actually i would pay some money to see the same grandma stoned (or any other grandma) test the Oculus Rift. Great video!! this kind of video shows how tech (any tech) have evolved since....mmm... Ford T...our grandparents never imagine this kind of stuff....amazing!...our children will be lucky.

Ordered in Jan. doubt its soon. 3Dvisionblog got his. Bloody actually said mirror's edge wasnt that impressive which is just a punch in the gut because if any third party rendered game would work it would be that. Got to hope they keep working on it or a new renderer does it well.

Some good commentary on Rift impressions:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jq07JSsQdXw
I frikin NEW headbob wouldn't be that big of a deal! (so many people said, "you can NEVER have ANY unintended movement or the experience will be ruined or you'll throw up..." )
I remember Bloddy said that the Rift wouldn't quite have as much 3d depth as 3d vision setup. I think its because the lenes centers in the dev version don't quite match 6.5cm? I forget, but i hope that changes. I can hardly believe the press the Rift is getting.

You know it occurs to me that they could make a 120hz 3D Vision model if they wanted. Might even end up cheaper as you don't have to have the 3D converter in a box like it has now.

Can't see anything on his site mentioning OR with mirrors edge, what was his problem with it? the device sounds pretty good though. His comments about low resolution, lens aberration and motion blur are all things that were either known about or expected with thr dev kit. I'm glad im waiting for the consumer one, but I'm sure that when the dev kit wrrives for you guys it will be a lot of fun.

Comments.
From what I been reading its kind of like very light 3D effect in games. Im not even talking about just third party rendered games. TBH I dont even think normal S3D is gonna last on the rift. Probably Depth buffer/ Simulated 3D.
Its starting to become a mass market device and if you look at people specs on MTBS its pretty low end like the rift itself is close to alot of peoples computers in cost. Not to mention driver issues/ probably no sli or crossfire support on renders. The gallery game says the biggest issue they are facing is making it runnable on mid tier machines and tbh I think they were just worrying about dev kit.......
I really don't think its going to be that interesting besides games with native support. Like I am excited about anything a developer themselves implements but thats it. The gallery seems really awesome and I definitely will pick up and if doom 3 ever happens. Alot of other games that said support is half ass. Hawken has no hud, which is cool and immersive but is unplayable. Strike suit zero is only giving a 3D hud, game itself is 2D. TF2 which seemed like a real hard amount of work uses 2D hud.
Who knows VR might become my thing but I just don't think S3D is gonna work out, at least as we know it.

46" Samsung ES7500 3DTV (checkerboard, high FOV as desktop monitor, highly recommend!) - Metro 2033 3D PNG screens - Metro LL filter realism mod - Flugan's Deus Ex:HR Depth changers - Nvidia tech support online form - Nvidia support: 1-800-797-6530
