Grainy Texture (Horizontal Lines) When In 3D Mode Samsung 2233RZ 22-inch Bundle
11 / 11
I purchased the 3D vision glasses with the Samsung 2233, and get the exact same scan lines. At first I thought it was just the shutter glasses until I took them off and found it was the display image itself. In some games it's not that noticeable, others it's quite obvious.
I wish I had of found this thread before I purchased it.
Hopefully the issue can be fixed by a driver update or a workaround.
Bump.
Nvidias lack of reply to this is a disgrace.
I sense it is a hardware issue that COULD be remidied with modded drivers.
The lines still show some of the real colour through. This means that if some drivers could be made to make every other line slightly darker (less gamma or whatever), the problem would appear to be non-existant. This is a hacky way of doing it, but would probably get rid of or reduce the effect.

Hopefully they find a way to work around, the more I use 3D the more noticeable the scanlines are. It's getting to the point where I don't use the glasses much at all, I'd rather have good IQ than 3D.

It seems to be a combination of things. I have tried this on multiple computers.
And the lines for me are only on the right hand upper quarter of the screen.
Seems to only come on in 120hz mode, or when in 3d games, which probably forces the 120hz mode.
I'm leaning towards it being the 2233rz monitor since, it is happening on different rigs.
Another thing that is weird, but in games not only is it only the right top part of the screen, but there is 2 green vertical lines also very feint.
Some games worse than others.
Samsung is supposed to be sending me another monitor.
If that doesn't work, i'm just gonna send this back to where I bought it from.
The 3D is great and I love playing it. But problems like this should have been worked out a long time ago.
And i'm almost inclined to say it's the monitor not being able to handle a high refresh rate.
I too have this problem. I get lines across the whole screen when playing any game - whether 3d vision is enabled or not. I'm using the ViewSonic FuHzion VX2265wm with an 8800 gt on windows7 64-bit.

Hello, did you guys try the new Alienware or Acer 3d monitors? is there grainy texture problem there? How about 3 alienwares or 3 acers in surround mode, is there grainy texture there too?
thanks

Try lowering your desktop resolution. I've had the same problem with my ViewSonic.
@ 60Hertz image clear but 3D will not work
@ 100-121Hertz i get the grainy look with horizontal lines
Seems it is too much data for the monitor or the cable to handle
Lowering the resolution from 1680x1050 to 1600x1024 and it fixed the issue!
Currently running at 100Hertz as 120Hertz creates too many random white pixels across the screen kinda like artifacts.
This also happens to me, whenever my monitor is 100 Hz or more, the screen is full of lines and ghosts!
then i turn it back to 60hz and the image get clear again...
Does anybody know the solution?
My configuration is:
Monitor Samsung 2233RZ - Motherboard Asus Sabertooth x58 - Processor Intel Core i7 950 - Memory (2X) Crucial Technology 6GB (3x2GB) Ballistix Tracer DIMM 1600 Mhz - HD Western Digital Black 1 TB - VideoCard Geforce GTX 570 PNY 1260Mb DDR5 - Power Suply Corsair TX 650W - Kit Nvidia 3D Vision
I realize this thread hasn't been posted on in awhile and most of your problems have probably been solved. However the thread was helpful in my troubleshooting as I was experiencing the same issue with my new Viewsonic 2268wm when working with my 295 GTX and 3d vision kit.
The first day I hooked it up, everything looked great at 120hz, in 3d or 2d! The next day I had the lines described by the OP and could not get rid of them no matter what I tried (that's how I found this post).
Long story short, I've found a solution that is working for me:
Everytime the lines appear, unplug and replug the monitors power (turning it off and on doesn't do enough). I'm guessing changing the hz rating above 60 needs more power and my power-strip is limiting it somehow. I've hooked the monitor up directly to the wall outlet and haven't experienced this problem again.
