Actually, you should use the first file (the modified file 55UC970modat.inf); I believe the second file is the raw data file for the specified TV... This driver override is required EVERY time you update your NVIDIA display driver (after using DDU first to remove old driver). Fortunately, the Windows 10 security signature override is only required one time (unless you change EDID). I suggest changing RGB dynamic range to "Full" under Change resolution, and changing Scaling to Full-screen with Display scaling, via NVIDIA Control Panel. When Vive/Rift being used, change Desktop to 1080p (to minimize GPU resources used for TV display), then revert back to 2160p Desktop when through using HMD.

It seems I am close but not quite there! Here's what I did so far: 1. Disabled the Win10 signature validation. 2. Succesfully applied the EDID override. Now the LG is listed as "Acer Passive 3D-LCD". Also instead of the usual 3DTV Play the control panel shows the "Optimized for Geforce 3D"-icon. Resolution is set to 3840 x 2160 and refresh rate is set to 60Hz. 3. Downloaded the "3D Vision Eye swapper" over at bloody's blog and launched the executable. Got a warning saying I shouldn't launch this exe did it anyway and fired up Mortal Kombat X and Doom (since I don't know of any other steps that should be done prior to launching a game). Now when I launch a game the TV definitely is showing something that looks like a 3D image but nothing changes when I put on the glasses provided by LG. With the glasses put on I see the same double-image as I do with the glasses off. I even instinctivly reached for the left side of the glasses to turn them on ;-) Just as was said here I left the TV's 3D options untouched so 3D is basically turned off. But even when I tried the TV's 3D button I just could switch between 2D -> 3D conversion, over-under and top-bottom with no option really enabling 3D. So it seems the 3D picture is there and all the hotkeys for depth and convergence are working flawlessly but somehow I don't get the 3D to kick in when I put the glasses on. Any idea?

When I launch 3DVisionEye Swapper, I do not have any warning messages. Did you use ZyZyX's version of Eye Swapper? If you turn on TV's 3D via button, you need to restart TV and not touch 3D button, to minimize ghosting while gaming. In-game resolution MUST be 3840x2160, unless the game is one a very small number of games that work correctly with the EDID mod. It sounds like you need to change your in-game resolution (along with the unfortunate performance hit). By the way, helifax's great Doom fix works well with the EDID mod, no other actions required beyond installing his mod...

Yes I am using ZyZyX's swapper and I only got the warning the first time I launched it. Since then I can launch it without the warning and I even get this icon saying something like "eyes swapped"! Also I am using 3840x2160 @60Hz. Could you please confirm once more that the TV's 3D options should be left totally untouched which the TV names "3D turned off"! So should 3D really kick in although the TV is in its "3D turned off" state?

Is it possible to gradually drop down resolution from 4K to Full HD when using EDID override ? If so can you tell me if it does look bad or just like on normal Full HD TV. I assume it`s bad since this isn't native resolution but who knows - maybe look even better then regular Full HD. Point is that I don`t want to invest in second GPU yet, waiting for 1080ti and some games struggle on 1440p so I would like to have a choice to drop down res if game/gpu won`t keep up. I`d like to get that LG 4K OLED 55 or 65 inch.

When a Line Interleaved format is input into a Passive 3D HDTV, it just works, you do not need to turn on 3D in the TV's menu. If the image appears flat, try putting the glasses on upside down, if it then works, it indicates that the eye sync needs reversed.

The TV 3D options do not come into play at all, unless you were using 3DTV Play which is not what you are doing. The Nvidia driver just knows to send the data for the alternating lines from each eye (as a single 3840x2160 image/frame). The double image sounds like an eye sync issue to me as well. You can attempt the registry tweak on post 110

As D-Man11 indicates, the EDID/NVIDIA driver combination provides native interleaved 3D signal. Note that TV's 3D button seems to activate some type of internal ghosting compensation that seems to make game ghosting worse. SKAUT - as I indicated, most games will NOT let you drop down from 4K, because interleave format only works correctly with native resolution. For example, I had to use 980Ti SLI to get acceptable frame rates (above 25 fps) for Dark Souls 3.

Some games do allow for downsampling/rendering at lower resolution but displaying at 4k (Guild Wars 2, does for certain), but they're few and far between. Generally options are limited to either 4k60hz interleaved via EDID or 1080p/24hz and 720p/60hz if you have 3DTV Play.

No success so far. I even installed the new drivers 368.69. When it was done I noticed the Nvidia Control Panel still gave me the "optimized for Geforce 3D" icon and it also still listed "Acer LG TV" under the "setup multiple displays"-tab and "Acer Passive 3D LCD" under the "setup stereoscopic 3D"-tab. Shouldn't the detected display got reset after driver installation? It was said here before that the EDID override needs to be done everytime you update the Nvidia drivers!? Still I did the EDID override again but to no avail. When doing the "set-up 3D" step and you get this QR-code like picture where you should be able to identify the protruding rectangle this one looked some kind of wavy to me with a strip at the top and the bottom of the QR code protruding while the middle (where the rectangle is located) remaining in the background (really hard to describe). But in the end it looked just the same as before. It looks like the stereoscopic image is there but when putting on the glasses everything remains totally flat and looks exactly the same as it does with the glasses off!

Did you use DDU before installing new driver (and clean driver install)? If so, the Monitor driver is always reset to Generic Monitor loaded by your driver, and 3DTV Play reappears as 3D source. You will need to use Device Manager to again override Monitor driver, then re-enable 3D using the Control Panel (like you describe above), and re-enable keyboard shortcuts. The only time I have displays like you describe is when a game does NOT provide line-interlaced 3840x2160 video to display.

I did not use DDU this time but will reinstall the driver using DDU when I get back home tomorrow. Unfortunately I am not at home right now. Thanks alot for all the support!

I just began to read through the first 4K 3D Vision related thread. It's the massive one which contains way over 20 thread pages. At the beginning there is always mentioned that you have to connect your TV with your PC in two ways (one EDID overrided connection and additionally another HDMI connection)!? I don't know if this is still neccessary!? Also someone mentioned that you should use a specific HDMI port especially on an LG TV. I only connected my LG's HDMI1 port to the HDMI 2.0 port of my Titan X. @whyme: which HDMI port do you use and is a second HDMI connection between LG TV and PC indeed necessary or is the single connection sufficient?
