Is it because it is because the multiplayer will block due to anti-hack stuff?
I tried to use superdepth3D in another multiplayer game (Miscreated) and it did not work.
BlueSkyDefender your shader is amazing. It is a solution that should have been available for 3D usage from the beginning as a fall-back scenario for EVERY game. In my opinion this is the best thing that has happened to 3D since 3D Vision exists (I do all my gaming in 3D from the last 10-12 years, I cannot game in 2D anymore, I really can’t). I am all for true 3D, but if you take your time and learn how to correctly set-up your shader for each game you can have an even better experience for most games (just a little bit worse 3D but better effects and overall performance, and antialias usage possible in EVERY game that I tested). I am already using it as my primary 3D solution, not to speak that it opens up a world for AMD users.
I thank you again and would like to ask you to please work in giving us a full frame solution (i.e. Frame Packed). That would make SuperDepth3D a near perfect solution (that and full API compatibility, DX12 mainly, but also vulkan).
Thank you again. Amazing amazing solution!!!, I cannot really express how amazing SuperDepth3D is.

The Problem is that Reshade does not support The Depth Buffer at Frame Packed resolution.

So Ya I did test both.
As for Dx12 and Vulkan I am not sure if the maker of Reshade will be working on that. I only work on the Shader not the Wrapper.

I'm still having a difficult time understanding...
What games am I supposed to use this "SuperDepth3D" mode for? How do I enable it?
There's quite a bit of technical jargon/info in here but for the average 3D Vision user, well, at-least myself, I have no idea how to make this work, if I need it, what games I should use it on, etc. etc.
If I can use "SuperDepth3D" to finally allow me to play my 3D Vision games at 144 Hz (72 Hz / eye) then this is the most awesome thing ever :)

i've just tested it with GTA 5 but the ground is completely curved ; i'm using Alternate DM 12 like said here https://github.com/BlueSkyDefender/Depth3D/blob/master/Game_Settings.txt .

What was that zig?? You mean it's possible? Is it on a per-fix basis? I was under the impression it was a hardware/software compatibility limitation.

Spinelli1, it is supereasy to enable and use. Basically:
- You must understand how to use reshade’s latest version (3.0) in your games. You can learn how to do this in https://reshade.me
- After you know how to reshade works disregard all the shaders that people use and use just “SuperDepth3D.fx” (search for the latest version link somewhere in this forum)
There you go. SuperDepth3D working!. Now you want it to look good, as it may seem at the beginning that it is a mess. This is due to the “Depth Map” parameter. You must learn how to configure the “Depth Map” parameter for each type of game (this is the “new” parameter for us 3D Vision users, as I assume that convergence and separation are perfectly clear for all of us already)
As for what games you can use SuperDepth3D in. This is the fucking amazing thing, practically all of them! (I am going through the unplayed OpenGL catalogue, as I could not play them properly before). The most updated list should be this https://reshade.me/compatibility (in the description it describes some limitations, reshade does not have access to some game’s depth buffer, this would mean that SuperDepth3D will not work, I assume).
As for the 72hz thing if you have a device that can understand 72hz SBS/TB there you go! (in my case I had to do an EDID override with CRU utility https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU)
I would recommend the TopDown 3D mode, as opposed to Side by Side. I do not know if it is a placebo effect but I believe that we should minimize vertical axis loss of resolution, as we already have vertical axis perceived loss of information due to the “2D + Depth Buffer” 3D solution.
Sounds great but...
- What is TopDown mode, SBS mode, TB mode, etc.?
- Should we use SuperDepth 3D for games that already work good with standard Nvidia 3D Vision? Or do we only use it for games that don't work good?
- Are we supposed to use the Helix Mods when using SuperDepth 3D?
- How do the Nvidia 3D glasses (3D Vision 2 in my case) adjust their strobing to suit 72 Hz per eye since you said you can succesfully use that?
- Is SuperDepth 3D true 3D like 3D Vision or is it "fake" "pop-out book" 3D?
- Can someone please list the differences/benefits/drawbacks to Nvidia 3D Vision VS SuperDepth 3D?
- Does anyone have any comparison photos between standard 3D Vision VS SuperDepth 3D?
I have a Dell S2716DG monitor which is very similiar to the Asus PG278Q ROG Swift. It uses Nvidia Lightboost strobing for Nvidia 3D Vision.
richydemars, that will not happen once you customize correctly the depth map.
I recommend you do your own custom map, the recommended are a mess, and show lots of distortions. Use the "Show Depth Map" option and use a custom map, and change near and far parameters until you see the full scene in grayscale
Edited: I was doing some testing with GTAV and It is a little tricky, but here you hace it!:
- Custom Depth Map: Custom 2
- Near: 0.030
- Far: 5.000
There you go!, GTAV in great 3d, full graphic effects and 72fps (with 3dvision I was struggling to get more than 30fps in many scenes due to 3Dvision's CPU 3-cores usage limitation)
thank you ! it works very well now and the performance are amazing . Now i can reconsider playing GTA5 on 3d (with a easy access to reshade 3) , even if 3d vision is better in terms of geometry .
It should have a community sharing for custom depth settings in https://sfx.thelazy.net/games/ .

DSR 2K with all max settings (with FXAA) : 100% GPU usage and solid 60FPS ! Unexpected with GTA5 even if my eyes must get used to this 3d perspective that lacks convergence.
A huge plus is that I can now use the best graphics mods using reshade and ENB without crash .
Congratulations for the talent behind this shader.
But nothing is worth Skyrim SE or Witcher 3 in real 3D ... sorry for Amd users ;)

@Spinelli1: Both SuperDepth, Tridef Power3D, and the similar NVidia Compatibility Mode are using the depth-buffer technique, which is "fake-3D" or the cutout style you mentioned. This is also used in some native games, like Crysis 2 and 3.
You can get pretty good results, especially with SuperDepth, easily the best of the group.
Whether or not it's worth it, is a personal decision, based on what is most important to the person playing. All the 3D techniques, including geometry/true-3D have tradeoffs. Sometimes even for specific games, where one technique is not available or does not work well.
For myself, I only play in true-3D, and don't care for any depth buffer solutions. All of the HelixMod and 3Dmigoto mods use this technique, so if it's on HelixModBlog, it's a true-3D fix and should look pretty terrific.
Best bet is to play around with the different options, and see what you prefer.
I think that as a general rule, everyone agrees that true-3D is the best experience when it's working, so maybe that is the best place to start, and try other solutions for scenarios where performance is insufficient or there is no true-3D fix.

So the maker of Reshade is considering making his work Open Source There is a vote going on at the forums. I guess when it comes down to it. This mabe our only chance to keep 3D alive for newer games that run on newer apis.
With newer APIs like DX12 and Vulkan coming around the corner. We maybe able to re-adapt his work to the newer apis.
To me crosire is a outstanding programmer and his work can be valuable to us as a community.

A huge plus is that I can now use the best graphics mods using reshade and ENB without crash .
Congratulations for the talent behind this shader.
But nothing is worth Skyrim SE or Witcher 3 in real 3D ... sorry for Amd users ;)

With newer APIs like DX12 and Vulkan coming around the corner. We maybe able to re-adapt his work to the newer apis.
To me crosire is a outstanding programmer and his work can be valuable to us as a community.
