Darksiders II 3D support? Darksiders II
Hi,

I'm currently playing Darksiders I in 3D and loving it! Does anyone know if Darksiders II will support 3D as well?

And is there any way of knowing that if a game that is currently not supporting 3D (e.g. Rage - BIG disappointment), that maybe someone (developers or NVIDIA) are working on it or not?

Grtz,

Most developers do not change their games code at all for 3d. If they announce it is 3d vision compatible(rare) or if game is based on an engine that has worked well in 3d in past will help.

Its sad to say but when a game works well in 3d...its most likely luck.

That kinda sucks... /wallbash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wallbash:' /> So is NVIDIA investing in making game-engines 3D friendly?

I'm really enjoying 3D and the other day I showed it to my brother. His words: great, now I HAVE TO buy a 3D system too, because there is no way in hell I'll be able to play in 2D knowing it's so much better in 3D.

I'd hate to see 3D fail...

Unfortunately 3d vision is kind of like a fuse box. Nvidia does nothing for a game besides flick switches. If there is no "power"(shaders/code is not written to be 3d compatible) then you can flick switches all day and it wont matter. Luckily from how direct x is games more often then not have high compatibility. Though this is also the reason why you always see the the same things rendered wrong over and over again(huds/names/water/shadows/fog/etc). Fortunately a person on the board named helix has developed a way that we can identify the 2d shaders(stuff that doesnt show up right in 3d) so we can rewrite the code. Its mainly his work but more of us are beginning to learn. I am getting my book in today so I can begin. Can follow this thread for 3d fixes http://helixmod.wikispot.org/gamelist

Thanks for giving me that link to Helix /cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I have a 3D 27" system now for about 3 months and from the moment I put 3D on I knew right away that I was entering a new
area of gameplaying. Then I found, to my big suprise, that most people on the web are bashing 3D. And when I started some
discussions with some of those people I found out that most of the time, they had NEVER EVER played a single game in 3D.
I almost got the the point where I would say: come to my place, play for a few hours and decide for yourself!!

(But that's not an option since I'm playing in 3D myself almost every single minute, I don't have to work/eat/sleep /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> )

I also am one that is looking forward to playing Darksiders 2 in 3D, the first one was one of my favorite games to play in 3D.

Absolutely awesome splitting a mob in half with your sword, in Stereoscopic 3D.

Man, you have no idea how much I'm enjoying playing this game in 3D, it's brilliant! /clap.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

(btw: if you are into an old-school first-person shootingfeast in excellent 3D, try Hard Reset (not the demo, cause that one doens't render well in 3D).

I can confirm that the convergence is unlocked in Darksiders II. I have been playing this within the last two weeks with the helixmod fix located in the link below and I've had no trouble adjusting both convergence settings. Have a look under installation instructions on the helix BlogSpot page since it explains how to save your custom convergence settings. it says: "F5/F6 - switch convergence/separation settings (I use them for change separation for cut scenes). If you want to save your custom convergence settings press F5(or F6) set custom settings , then press F7 and your settings will be saved in the config file. You can set custom settings for both profiles (F5/F6 keys)." when i press f5 or f6 - two different presets are switching and ctrl+f5 or ctrl+f6 is not working, it is trying to work but perhaps blocked with settings of the preset. and after pressing f7 - ctrl+f5 or ctrl+f6 doesnt work at all

Try changing your settings for adjusting convergence. I personally use the Home and End keys, and it works just fine.

@mistersvin You can edit the dx9settings.ini file and change to the keys you prefer. That is what I have done since the F5/F6 keys is what I have set up in the Advanced Settings in my Nvidia control panel for actually adjusting the convergence. So I can see where you are having a problem. Refer to the link below which explains how to set to your preferred keys. This is worth your minimal time to learn how to do since you can apply this to other game fixes as well. I often customize the dx9settings.ini since I have my preferred keys for changing convergence on the fly especially in games where the camera changes often (i.e. cutscenes, 3rd Person, First Person, Indoor, Outdoor etc......)
