Is there much of a story in this? I liked D3 because the intro, as short as it was, sort of helped take me to another place.

The story builds up through the game. There is not much at the beginning. They`ve opened the portals to hell and all that shit came out killing residents or changing them into more monsters. You getting more lore after reading messages or contacting with some characters during play through.
That was something what I really liked about Doom 3 - environment was telling you more then anything else. All the secrets and unanswered questions about what happened in each area as you`ve been going deeper underground.

Yeah, i loved the PDA stuff and the technicians working on stuff having conversations. I made notes for making a mod for D3 i will probably never get to. I wanted to make an almost VR like experience, slow down the walking speed to realistic values, yet build in a Mirror's Edges movement animation system, not the parkour stuff though, just the nice realistic stuff, like acceleration going into a run, etc for immersion purposes. I also wanted to make a bigger, yet still shadowy, intro hanger level section with more areas to explore. I wanted to ask the Angels Fall First guys if i could use one of their awesome ship models to place in the hanger, with it being worked on, wires everywhere, guys with aninimations using tools on it somewhere that had a few lines of dialogue. If i had more time...

What was there a story ? ROFL ROFL ... What a load of crap. excuse my french.
Even the dev could not say there is. ...just sort of.
Started playing hating the waste of a great engine. At the end gotta say it was sort of refresh to play
Something as straight shooting as doom was. Kind of what i was expecting.
On the other Hand i did not expect to like it in the end.

Hi, thanks shader hackers and 3d gurus.
I have tested this wrapper following the instructions very closely. When in the game, I have no 3D, the glasses are fully blacking out the left eye, and the right eye is shuttering normally. Going Ctrl_T will give me the two images side by side.
When using the uninstall.bat the game then went very very dark, although the brightness settings were default.

I liked the story. If you read all the data logs you collect (and collect all) the story takes an interesting shape.
Doom was never about a Story-driven game (except Doom3). Doom was always like Dark Souls regarding the story... You kinda have to piece it up by yourself and in the meantime survive.
I actually love the new DOOM. Is what DOOM should have always been, not the Abomination DOOM3 was, If I want horror games I play Amensia or Soma games or the old Resident Evil. DOOM3 was so not DOOM. The game was awesome on it's own but it shouldn't have had the "DOOM" in the name.

Try and disable SLI. That being said SLI is not working in OpenGL anyway. You will probably need to lower you resoltion to 720p to get 120 frames per second as well...
The fix comes with a SLI flag to overcome that behaviour...strange that is not working for you...

So the issue must lie somewhere else.......

It was indeed the AA settings! I totally overlooked the SMAA setting. I was of the opinion that I had chosen this one but instead I had SMAA(1TX) active and well just like you assumed holy helifax this was indeed the solution to my little problem!

No idea then. Sorry. Something strange is happening there. Don't know what might cause that though.
Sorry. I thought you said the 3rd page.
EDIT:
Ha;)) I was just replying before you added a new reply;)
Yes, that strange behavior where the image looks like garbage is normally when heavy Post Process AA is used (that generates a 2D texture image and is overlaied over the 3D geometry. It produces those halos and weirdness).
Glad you sorted it out;)
Hope you enjoy it;)
EDIT2:
For Surround I am currently using 3880x768(don't know why the 720p is not available in Surround HUGE list of
resolutions)... Resolution is 100% scale everything on Ultra (except the things that need to be disabled).
Lowest FPS was 95 and normally is 115-120FPS.
I thought you might want to know;)

i tested the 3d also now only with my passive monitor with acerHR274H EDID hack. And wanna report following if it helps anyone.
The info says only OFF, FXAA, SMAA
Everyone using line interlieved 3d monitor i had wierd image because
i had selected SMAA(TX) as i did not know it´s different than SMAA. that was causing me f***up visuals.
The alternaterframerenders True made eye synch better.
But it´s unplayable for me currently because there is still too much flicker, allthough the super annoying 1 frame lag
between left and right was removed with the alternaterenders true flag.
Im sad it´s unplayable for me. but im happy for all playing it as it truly looks awsome visually !
I did not yet get to test with my geobox and projectors but if the monitors 60hz is the limitting factor
i propably get much better results with my projector setup as it inputs the full 120hz 3d vision.
but i tested using false on synchtorefreshment rate as the game was clipping the framerate at 60,
and the bigger framerate helped so it´s propably much better experience on 120hz 120fps in terms of eye-synch.
by the way what was the best driver for this release
edit: hah Lohan had the same mistake

You can be sure of that, helifax! Come on...this is DOOM in all its classic glory infused with just the right injections of "gameplay-benefitting" new mechanics (glory kills I am looking at you...just to name one) and it looks absolutely stunning on my HMZ-T3 (I decided to play it that way. The immersion is just incredible).
The game in 3D already looks stunning by default but I would like to tweak depth and convergence a good measure. Unfortunately the game doesn't react to my hotkeys (I am using custom ones not Nvidia's default keys).
As I said even with the default settings for depth and convergence it looks spectacular but somehow I need to get these hot-keys working!

I remember you were the only one saying that SOMA wasn't working for you, and we asked you to get rid of the Geobox thingy which more likely introduces additional latency and synchronization problems. If you run it on a proper 120Hz 3D Vision Display than you will have no problems with either this game or SOMA.
Having those 120FPS is a must though;)
The game was tested by me on 356.10 and others are using 365.19. Is hard to say which one is best of the two though;) Some people reported 356.19 has low FPS (in 2D -> Drivers section) so...
What do you mean by "is too much flicker" ? The image is flickering or is this the clipping issue that I can't correct without the game source-code?
I find it very hard to believe the game is "unplayable"... Unless you want a 100% problem free solution, in which case: Either give up on 3D gaming or ask the developer to add 3D from there code ... which is less likely to happen...
( All I have done is through reverse engineering, without access to the SOURCE CODE of the game(s)) and is 95% problem free!

Even the dev could not say there is. ...just sort of.
Started playing hating the waste of a great engine. At the end gotta say it was sort of refresh to play
Something as straight shooting as doom was. Kind of what i was expecting.
On the other Hand i did not expect to like it in the end.

Ok, report complete. I will try again shortly. Thanks again, you guys are legends.

I am fully aware that page 3 of the instructions is not dedicated to 3D vision Surround thus I said that I ignored page 4!
I followed all the instructions above to the letter. Even disabled all those "not mandatory"-settings. For AA settings I used SMAA.
So the issue must lie somewhere else.......
It was indeed the AA settings! I totally overlooked the SMAA setting. I was of the opinion that I had chosen this one but instead I had SMAA(1TX) active and well just like you assumed holy helifax this was indeed the solution to my little problem!
HAIL HELIFAX!
