Hmm, I thought that sample was supposed to work via the native stereoscopic support that's built into DirectX 11 and only available to W8/8.1 and W10 users. You should have been able to run it with 3D turned off in the NVCP.

When I turn on 3D in windows for my HDMI connected monitor 3DTV Play is also enabled.
If I turn off 3D in windows 3DTV Play is disabled.
I'm not sure how 3D support is handled for computers that don't have Nvidia 3D solutions.
Could have done some testing if I had an ATI card but no such luck.
I guess microsoft can't display 3D without interfacing with the graphics driver. It's not like they can bypass it.
