Has anyone with 3D Surround (SLI) been unable to launch the game in fullscreen when 3D Vision is enabled? I tried multiple times and multiple configurations and I was forced disable surround to get the game to launch in fullscreen.
No problems with 3D Surround (SLI ofc).
What OS are you using?
When in Surround mode the VRAM detected by the game goes up to 8GB for me. When in SLI it shows the 4GB as it should. Very strange. I will try DX 10 when I get home with surround

Using the Max Payne 3 profile fixed the text in one eye issue for me. It also seems to have better performance than the BF4 profile I was trying before for my SLI setup.
I am about to go to work so hopefully someone else can try that profile and share their thoughts.

1080 GTX 8GB SLI | I7-4770K@4.5GHz | 16GB RAM | Win10x64
Asus ROG Swift PG278Q | 3D Vision 2
That profile seemed to have the same effect as no profile, for me. It fixed the text, performance was the same as without a profile (even on SLI), but the other issues remain.

I don't get it.
Just install 350.12 then in the nvidia control panel add gta5.exe under the list of installed programs and then set Force Alternate Frame Rendering 2.
You do not use Nvidia Inspector at all.
If you have deleted the profile already without backing it up reinstall 350.12
It needs to be set for gta5.exe not for the global setting as a profile exists but doesn't seem to set AFR 2 in program specific setting. see attachment
Everything is perfect 3D and solid 60 fps.

The bug where the 3D just stops is very annoying. Any solutions yet? As I understood correctly, deleting via Nvidia Inspector the profile is for SLI issues? Deleting the profile via control panel too and the "Force Alternate Frame Rendering 2" is also only visible with a SLI setup. Correct me, if I am wrong.
What is weird in the NVidia Inspector, there are two profiles: 1) Grand Theft Auto V and 2) GTA 5...
After being incredible thrilled by the quality of 3D in the beginning I am a bit disappointed now.
awww, b03b, I was counting on you! Oh well. I'll keep my fingers crossed and enjoy 60FPS although FLAT gameplay. I really hope these fixes get done. Thankfully, they really aren't anything major, the game is still playable, and it seems like they could easily be fixed by Rockstar, or even a righteous Forum member.
I just want it noooowwwwwww, though. Lol.
What are you seeing that is sufficiently game-breaking that you'd want to play in 2D?
I have seen only a very small number of effects that draw wrong, and it's still not completely clear if we can fix them with just different settings. The two I've seen are light reflections off of floors, and the yellow object markers. In races, the checkpoints are unbearable.
If someone else wants to take a look at fixing problems, hint, hint- you can get a good start at wiki.bo3b.net.

We played for about three hours without seeing the broken shadows problem. One hard crash to desktop. In general, it was performing very well. For a day-one release.
Keep in mind that there hasn't been an actually smooth game release in something like five years. This is part of being an early adopter. The only way to get a smoother experience is to do something mainstream like PS4 or 2D@1080p, no SLI. As a bit of a fringe, I'm not at all surprised we get some early problems, although the broken text with SLI is a real surprise. They obviously played and tested in 3D- and not one machine they tested with had SLI?
Please report the bugs to R*- politely. 3D support out of the box, even with glitches, is a real surprise.
If people can update their signatures, it would really help to see if we can correlate problems to different hardware configs. Having to ask all the time is a real drag. Top right "My Account", then middle right "Settings", then on left "Signature".

I have the shaders breaking or 3D disabled every 5 min after I launched a game... 3.4Gigi of Vram loaded. This is totally game breaking as I don't want to play it in 3D ;)

Another thing I stumbled across is commandline parameters you can specify.
https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/202518358-Available-Command-Lines-for-GTAV-on-PC
An interesting one there is -fullscreen to force full screen mode. Might help to get around that weird startup problem. Haven't tried it, just reporting its existence.
Another interesting thing there is you can run the benchmark from the commandline params. So, an enterprising soul could make a batch file operation to run through different settings with benchmark, and get a stack of data for the 3D use case that might be helpful. Having it automated makes it a lot easier to try a ton of variants.
Edit: BTW, if you run the benchmark before finishing the first mission with Franklin and Lamarr, the benchmark will crash.
Edit2: The benchmark is pretty good. Should be very helpful for comparisons. Results found in "C:\Users\bo3b\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Benchmarks\"

From my experience:
- 2x780Ti in 3D Surround = I don#t have any problems whatsoever. Games starts and works in 3D. I never loose the 3D Vision rendering (aka breaking). No crashes, or text or grass rendering in one eye either...
- 1x880M single Screen = game disabled proper 3D rendering and then crashed after around 15 minutes or so (during the 1st car mission with Lamar). Don't have other 3D rendering issues though.
In both cases never switched profiles or made modifications to official profile...
=> Again 3D Vision Surround is acting differently vs SLI vs Single GPU... (in this case for the better)
As a side note: This is the 3rd DX11 game that acts weird in 3D Vision (Others are DA:I, LordsOfTheFallen)...
I am beginning to see a pattern here.. hmm:(

Not necessriy 3D specific but a couple of problems I encountered while trying to get the game going
- couldnt launch the game (gta 5 has stopped working message). Installing the latest driver did not solve this for me, nor did temporaily disabling the gpu. What worked was completely uninstalling comodo firewall. Many people have reported the same. I suppose I could've hunted down a specific setting but by that time I wasn't feeling very adventurous
- memory leak causing crashes within minutes. Fixed that by enablng the page file. Apparently this game is really finicky about ram, and I'm wondering if that may be causing some other inexplicable issues. Try adjusting the page file and see if that helps with anything else.
