Registry Monitorsize Fix Coming Up In Next Driver?
Will the ability for the user to adjust the screen size be added in the next driver release? Like a slider or something in the Nvidia settings like the old old drivers did, and keep the setting instead of it resetting each time a game is launched? I think in the windows registry there was a value like monitorsize+X where X was predetermined by Nvidia. This was way out of wack with my Acer 3D projector months ago, and I had to keep alt tabbing out of the game to go to the registry and then back into the game agian, but this cause some strange flickers and such in some games, and is a hassle. Alt tabbing out and then back in again caused the issues though, not changing the monitorsize.

I don't mean to be rough to any part, but chances are that unfortunately this is not gonna happen.

Well, it should happen! My new nVidia card is arriving via UPS tomorrow (can't wait!), and I'm considering a projector for 3D Vision.

To be unable to adjust this "monitorsize" variable for a projector seems ludicrous. A projector can display an image size from anywhere between 27" to 180" or more depending on location. This variable really needs to be adjustable. Fortunately, there are some "hack" workarounds available. The "Depth Hack", I think?

I have asked about this months ago and I think it was Andrew that said he would relay the message to the Nvidia driver team.

I don't know why this is so hard to implement. Nvidia used to have it in their OLD 23 drivers in the CRT days. I don't understand we can't get this easy fix. It is absolutely annoying how games and apps don't respond correctly after alt tabbing out and then back into them again. I have recieved lockups, games / demos crashing, and graphic glitches from this. And it's absolutely annoying having a projector and then this issue. I use an 80" screen and the larger the screen the less the effect is the way it is written in Nvidia's driver. When the alt tabbing works and I change the monitor value, it makes a HUGE difference in games. HUGE! It goes from "meh" to "WOW"!

And 3D on a projector with this large of a screen is awesome and cheaper than any TV setup. I paid $600 for my projector and 80" screen.

Cmon Nvidia, please add this already.

What does this do exactly?

Didn't Andrew claim to be a Nvidia driver programmer? Otherwise he'd have to have been screwing around quite a bit yes?

Andrew, relay this to the Nivdia driver team member/management responsible for the lackluster feature set: .l. ( maybe wait till lunch, then distract him from him perusal of "Stamp collector's digest". Then give him a good kick right to the groin and tell him that was from me.....Roller11.

There are a number of features present in the old driver that have been removed.

Stereo gamma adjustment and monitor size being the least of those. It's like Andrew either doesn't hear us or can't communicate our wants to the driver team. We are advanced users and we want advanced features. This glasses set was too expensive for me to not be able to do what I want with it.

For projectors it's fixed in 120", so depth is only correct at that size. With a 80" screen the depth at 100% it's a joke.

So can any of the mods please advise if this has been told to the driver sofware team?

It's been reported numerous times and Andrew has said there will be no "fix" for it. It seems they *MAY* implement a screen size window at the 3D setup screen much like the PS3.

I don't have a PS3 so I don't know what a "screen size" window is. But I have not seen a response back saying it won't happen like you noted, I must have missed it. And if that's the case, it's REALLY stupid. Why on earth is Nvidia keeping 3D vision from being fantastic? They are holding it back on their own. The larger the projector screen, the less the 3D effect. I was thinking about upgrading to a 100" screen too. LAME!!!

How I miss the settings of the old pre-3dvision drivers:

The worst thing is the setting is probably just commented out, there's all sorts of old stuff still in the driver when you look through the files...
