3D on GeForce GTX 690 Linux?
Hi! I got a GeForce GTX 690 here, a BENQ xl2420tx display and Nvidia 3D Vision glasses. On windows this setup works ok with Nvidias demos and even got a bluray running. On Linux, however, I can't figure it fully out. I just replaced the Noveau driver with the Nvidia 319 release and ran nvidea-xconfig with stereo=10. The glasses do now get a signal and go into shutter mode. But nothing I tried seems to be in stereoscopic 3D. Looking in /var/log/Xorg.0.log I see: [ 12.758] (WW) NVIDIA(0): Stereo is only available on Quadro cards [ 12.758] (II) NVIDIA(0): Disabling stereo. Thus that mean, there is no stereoscopic 3D for Linux with the GTX 690 or am I doing something else wrong?

I hope it works. I am concern about the new Valve`s platform. Would love to see it working same way as it does right now.

It says right there: [ 12.758] (WW) NVIDIA(0): Stereo is only available on Quadro cards However there are ways of making your 3D Vision working under Linux if you simulate the driver behavior. I will not get into detail now, but suffice to say you will need to code it in your application. I did saw a project that tried it on all applications but last I checked it only worked with glxgears ...and that was it...:)
