Perhaps so! On my Viewsonic, I often have extreme difficulty determining where the cup is placed once they pull the flag and the putting begins. All looks like one contiguous green and blurry enough, or the camera is just too low, perhaps for enhanced depth, to see where the hole is. If the first one to putt does sink it, then I see where the ball disappeared and from the perspective, can tell about the following putts.

streaming starts off ok for a minute or two and then becomes a slideshow for me. It's not my bandwidth though because i watch the usage and it nowhere near tops out, not even an 8th of my 8Mb d/l. of course its not my system because theres barely any usage on cpu/ram/gpu when this happens.

As for the parts that i saw... It was OK but a bit underwhelming. I think golf is a bad sport to introduce 3d with because of the distance in most of the shots, you cant really give a good strong depth effect most of the time. And with the video not being HD quality, a lot of depth of distant objects is blurred together. They've still got some work to do if they intend to deliver 3D video live over the internet, IMO. I really could care less if i'm watching it live, and agree that we should have better control on buffer settings. And when it gets to the point where it's looping the broadcast and the streams no longer live, why not just automatically switch the buffer behavior to not put such a priority on catching up and focus on getting more than .25 FPS. Or, better yet, just make it downloadable.

I really feel bad for those of you that are not able to watch the broadcast without issues. I have had no trouble at all with the streaming. I thought that the picture quality today was near HD for the most part. Once in a while, one of the cameras would not be set up properly. But overall, I thought today's broadcast was the best yet. Hang in there guys. Hopefully, you will get everything sorted out. ;)

I'm not really a golf fan but just checked it out. Quite fun seeing the ball and grass and sand flying everywhere :P Apart from the images sometimes freezing for 1 or 2 secs (which happens with normal broadcasts too so I think it's not a bandwidth problem) I have had no problems whatsoever.

I never did get this to work, tried the above Hot Fix and it gave me an error as I'm running Win 7 and not Vista. I did an in-place upgrade from Vista to Win 7 so that may be the cause of my problem with residual codecs, not going to reinstall to test the theory for this but I'll try and get it sorted next time a live 3D event comes around. I didn't get any indication the stream was buffering at all, it really seemed like it didn't even recognize my internet connection. Didn't spend a lot of time trying to get it to work this week anyways, been too busy playing with my GTX 480. :) Thanks anyways for your updates and help trying to get this to work.

some good news, it seems that some people in the HD commuity are able to record the 'hd' 3d streams and put them up for torrent download.
the bad news is the masters file he put up is 7gigs :)

    here is a sample screen

could be good news for 3d broadcasts in the US and of course, the world cup.

I also tried to save the .asf stream using directstream I think it was.
I thought everything was ok but ended up with a 4 gig or so file that played for 20 seconds than stopped unfortunately don't know what happened there. /down.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
