Beside that, I am still confused why they make such a fuzz about the 120Hz. Nvidia on their end should leave it up to the user to decide what grade of flicker they can stand but pro'lly they are afraid of the press turning down the product and harming the reputation.
On behalf of the TV Set makers I do not see the reason for not implementing native 120Hz input in every latest model.
HDMI1.3 gives enough bandwith and all better panels can do 120Hz... I could not imagine anything more easy than simply push the signal through to the LVDS driver to allow for maximum bandwith/refresh rate when you select input through HDMI at native resolution with no overscan and picture processing.... with the 32 TVs start at 600,- EUR allready that would ba a massive push for that technology...
Also had the Wicked 3d Sli that offered 1024 x 1024 and the Wicked 3d glasses from Metabyte and there is no comparision to those. Two Voodoo 2's could offer 1024 x 768 and one offered 800 x 600 but the key with Wicked 3d's is some of them offered 12 megs of ram instead of 8 -- and because of the added ram, 1024 x 1024 was possible with their innovative forcing resolution feature that they had. That was one hell of a platform back in the day.
Edit:
Hehe, here is a link with all the Wicked 3d goodies from the past:
The feature that offered 1024 x 1024 was called, Resolution override:
This is the most stunning feature of the drivers apart from the stereo3D functions. You can not only define your custom resolutions, you can force virtually any game into this resolution. This way older Glide-titles from the Voodoo-1 era which seemed to be stuck at 640x480 forever now work in 1024x692 on a Voodoo2 or 1024x1024 on a Voodoo2-SLI configuration. This is especially important for stereo-applications since the vertical resolution is cut into half here.
Need for Speed 2 SE which only supported 640x480 in the past is a nice example. Now it flies at 1024x672/1024x1024, the right stuff for resolution junkies.
Asus recently showed a 23.6" 1900x1080 120Hz LCD at a recent exhibition. No official word yet on when/if it will hit the market.
LG has also been rumored to be developing a 24" 1900x1200 120Hz LCD, but again, no official word on when/if it will it the market.
What we have here is a case of chicken-and-egg syndrome. No LCD maker will invest in mass-producing larger 120Hz LCDs until it is proven that 3d Vision is going to catch on, but 3d Vision won't catch on until LCD makers start mass-producing larger 120Hz LCDs. :"> *Quandary.*

Yeah, that really was "wicked 3D"... the later drivers even allowed for SLIing 2 cards of different manufacurers that was indeed great.... I am stilöl not sure about the 1280x1024 since I owned 2 Miro Highscore² which each had 12MB RAM onboard at that time and I do somewhat recall I paid the premium because of a higher resolution . .. as said I will find out once I have time to take on that archeological Win98 project...
concerning the 24''ers I have found some news but was not posting them because its in german... http://www.prad.de/new/news/shownews_tft2404.html
Anyway, manufacturer is CMO, which is not surprising.
What I tried to express in my previous post is, that I do not understand the fuzz and what'S so special that they will start shipping 23.6'' Full HD panels with 120Hz support in Q3 when 37''ers and up have been around for 2 years or so... Looking at the price difference between 50/60 Hz LCD TVs and those with double refresh I would even go as far as caliming that all newer panels used fTVs can do 100/120 Hz and the limitation lies just in the picture processing circuitries.
And regarding the "hen/egg" problem: every review I've been reading so far states a huge benefit for 2D applications starting with smoother mouse movement and ending at superior movie playback quality. As the news say Chi Mei are also working on smaller panels for notebooks. So I would asume stereoscopy is by far not the strongest motor behind the growth we can expect. Wait another 2-3 years and every panel will have 120Hz - the problem is everybody around here wants to have it now...

Exactly, the picture processing circuitry inside a true 120Hz "3d-ready" LCD monitor (re: 2233RZ, Viewsonic Fuhzion) is different than the circuitry inside the standard "120Hz" LCD TVs that Sony, Samsung, etc are putting out now. Those 120Hz TVs accept *only* a 60Hz input signal and then interpolate the frames to output a 120Hz (or even 240Hz) image..... which is not the same thing as accepting TWO full 60Hz signals and outputting both at 60Hz for a total of 120Hz. The latter takes a whole different kind of circuitry -- you could almost think of it as two separate monitors inside one LCD.

I would love to be able to tell you about new monitors coming out, but unfortunately I can't. Trust me though, whenever we have new announcements we will be sure to get involved and let you guys know.
Here is a Video from Jon Peddie that touches on 120hz being "the production standard" or replacement for 60hz.

I wish it was true in every case, but in this case... Once you go small you'll never go back. The 3D surrounds you so much that you stop noticing the size of the screen and start to have the feeling you are inside the game.

Agreed. I have no regrets. I'll take 22" of stereo 3D goodness over 30" of regular 2d display ANY DAY.
That said, if/when a 24"+ 1900x1200 120Hz monitor does hit the market, I'll certainly be one of the first to upgrade. :)

Certainly a customer and actually can't wait for this technology to mature. 6 months ago was strictly a 2d gamer and now a 3d stereo gamer moving forward -- to see this improve instead of being limited to just a 2d plane of existence.

Yes there is a market for 1920x1200 120hz but so far no produklt. Please send a 1920x1200 120hz product suggestion to the manufacturers, hopefully one will make a decent one eventually.

concerning the 24''ers I have found some news but was not posting them because its in german... http://www.prad.de/new/news/shownews_tft2404.html
