I was considering upgrading my pc/laptop to a multimedia pc eg Acer RL100 with bluray and nvidia 3D graphics.
I now find that this model projector is not on the approved list despite being 3D ready and still being sold as a bundle with Nvidia glasses etc???
The X1130p is on the list so why the difference??? I rang Acer and they couldn't help!!!
Although I didn't buy it specifically for 3D I thought it would make it last a bit longer due to the spec.
Anyone from Nvidia care to comment??
I've had a look at some threads and it appears to be a recurring question?
I'm happy with the projector and it has only around 200 hrs on the lamp so I don't want to replace it yet. Despite it not having hdmi it is connected to my virgin box and HDDVD player.Yes I know but I've got a lot of HDDVD dvds hence my quest to update to bluray etc.
Any workarounds/fixes for this projector to work with Nvidia???

The only option I come up with, if you want to use 3d vision, is to use an .inf file that makes windows (and 3d vision) think that you have a "supported" model.
I don't know much about this but it seems it's usual among some of the forum members. Browse the forum to see if you can find useful information.
Another option (that I have just think about) is to use it as a generic CRT. I think it can be done when the projector is connected with a VGA cable and the pin that sends the EDID is bend on purpose to avoid display detection. I don't know if this can also be done through .inf file. That would be a lot more convenient.

I have been browsing other forums for info and I came across the viewsonic VP3D1 which I thought would be the answer, however, after checking it out it seems it will only connect to hdmi projectors. I can understand the new 1.4 standard if you are connecting to a 3D tv so would there be a problem using an adapter to a vga/svga projector???
My current setup is a Virgin V+ HD box to older LG HD tv via a dvi adapter.
The virgin cable box has component(rgb) so I've connected this to the projector with a component/vga cable and everything works fine.
I don't yet have a blu ray player but this was on the shopping list until I saw the viewsonic hdmi projectors only???
Anyone out there with a viewsonic box and vga projector who has used an adapter???
