Would my monitor be able to handle 3D and would it be ideal? Do I really need the Light Boost Technology? Thanks a lot.

Nice monitor! But it doesn't appear to support 3D Vision. It's more than just needing 120hz refresh or better, it also has to be certified 3D Vision Ready by Nividia.

For best 3D Vision experience, some of us use 4K 3D TVs instead. LG's 55E6 or 55C6 (2016 models) really should be strongly considered, before they completely disappear (they are no longer being manufactured). Requires a lot of GPU performance, but the OLED display and large-screen immersion are incredible. I think for those 4k 3dtv's it really depends on how tolerant you are to frame rates and graphics fidelity. Which is the exact reason why I refuse to go over 1440p in 3dvision. which even a 1080ti SLI setup will struggle in some scenarios.

In the $500 range, you can also get a DLP projector. Large screen size, zero ghosting.
Not sure if there are any 3D Vision certified projectors still available, but 1080p versions have been working for people while using glasses that come with the projector, and 3D TV Play.
