I'll soon go from HD620 to GTX 1070 Max-Q with my new laptop, so I was thinking of adding a 2-meter-wide 3D window into my living room. Especially for games. My questions are:
1) Are there DLP 3D projectors that:

4) Why does it seem like the technology is dying? You folks and this forum look like the last thing with activity in 2016-2017 on that topic. That's especially weird, seeing that projectors and graphics cards got ever better since 2011, and VR still has a lot of problems, with real solutions like the wide-angle PiMax not usable before another year or so, until next GPUs come out.

The mainstream TV and projector industry will NEVER accept to pay that much for such a small niche market, therefore 3D displays aren't upgraded.

I have the Benq w700, it's great.. can probably be found dirt cheap on ebay etc.. i bought mine with 2 3D vision 2 glasses + emitter for something like $200.. i made my own 75" projector screen for around $100 (special type of paint that works well).

If all works well and i can mount my projection roller blind in my living room the next two days, I will buy the Benq W2000 next week. I've read some reviews and this projector seems to be really great for the money.

I used a 720p 3D DLP projector for a while and liked the immersion of the huge screen and almost no ghosting, but small text is an eye strain to read. I've moved to a LG 3D OLED because the colors are much better, small text is readable and the image is sharper but it has more ghosting.

I think im gonna get an OLED for my PS4 Pro / Switch and possibly to use for the PC too.. i guess HDR would be good to have though for the PS4 Pro..
This is one thing i hate with TV's.. you think you've found one and then it's always lacking something, high latency or lacks 3D, or HDR.. there's really no TV that seems to have it all, always a compromise, sometimes a rather big one.

There were two things that made me switch back from projector to TV:
Very low contrast and brightness in 3D made difficult seing enemies, reading text, following a minimap.... If you properly calibrate it is gets even worse.
My livingroom was always dark and started to hate this.
I don't know why people complain about ghosting in Passive LG TV's. I owned 3 sets in different generations and none of them had visible ghosting if properly setup. Maybe people have defective sets? or use high sharpness?
The E6 C6 series have more or less everything you want in a 3DTV.
Decent inputlag (lower that my Benq w1300 projector), great colors, HDR support, low ghosting.

out of curiosity what do you mean "properly setup" ?
I know the ghosting can be minimized by upping brightnes by so raising the black to grayish and doing the vice versa to white. but im not aware of anything else to do.
for what i tested lg passive tv (950) the image was superb almoust in all aspects but the ghosting was in the degree of "wery good and not anyways disctracting for movies with little separation and not extreme scenes like black on white" but i don´t think it was in the levels of gaming with high separation and lots of black on white. thogh ghosting is something that should define just on it´s own the gaming experience.
those cheap dlp have pretty low gamut

out of curiosity what do you mean "properly setup" ?
I know the ghosting can be minimized by upping brightnes by so raising the black to grayish and doing the vice versa to white. but im not aware of anything else to do.
for what i tested lg passive tv (950) the image was superb almoust in all aspects but the ghosting was in the degree of "wery good and not anyways disctracting for movies with little separation and not extreme scenes like black on white" but i don´t think it was in the levels of gaming with high separation and lots of black on white. thogh ghosting is something that should define just on it´s own the gaming experience.
those cheap dlp have pretty low gamut
