One LCD panel and two Hi-Def projectors Two Cards or one Quadro NVS-440
Hi all,
I am new here. Not new to Nvidia graphic cards or multiple display set ups but I am seeking the forums advice for this configuration.
I have a Core 2 Quad system with 2GB Memory and will have a 17" 1280 x 1024 LCD panel as the primary monitor.
I am seeking to have two Hi-Def projectors running at 1920 x 1080. The signal input needs to be HDMI which I understand is a sleeker form of DVI with some added features if available.
I will be running these two projectors with Peter Wimmer's Stereoscopic player in side by side mode. Then adjusting the projectors to display both the left and right eye iamges perfectly on top of each other with polorizing filters on each projector lens.
So, the two projectors are an extension of the desktop for the stereoscopic player only. It will actually be a 3840 x 1080 horizontal span pair of projectors and a single 1280 x 1024 single primary monitor.
Nvidia sales support sugested that I use either a Quadro NVS-440 or a pair of GeForce Cards series 6, 7 or 8.
I am not running 3D apps or games, just 3840 x 1080 wmv Windows Media 9 HD stereoscopic video files. So only outstanding 2D performance is required here.
Next, I will need to convert 2 of the DVI-I outputs from the Nvidia card to HDMI (v1.2x not the newer v1.3) for feeding into the projectors. Do the standard DVI to HDMI adapters work well for this?

I believe iZ3D's 3D driver version 1.08 has dual output.
Pls post when/if/how You get it to work :) because I'm watching 3D videos in 640*480 on a 19" CRT monitor, so You setup will certainly kick a**.

I chose to go a different route than building a system with two cards. I have got an Acer Aspire AS6920-6422 Laptop on the way and also a pair of BenQ W5000 HD projectors. All should be here on Friday. Today I picked up a Matrox Triple Head 2 Go digital version. I will run the dual link DVI-D output of the Acers Nvidia 9500M GS graphics card into the TripleHead2Go. I will configure the Matrox unit to be in dual head mode as a pair of 1920 x 1080 screens. It will be seen by the system as a single 3840 x 1080 display. So I will have the laptops 1920 x 1200 built in screen as my primary monitor and the pair of projectors will be my 3840 x 1080 secondary monitor. I will be playing 1920 x 1080 sterescopic wmv HD v9 files with Peter Wimmers StereoScopic Player in side by side mode. When this is played on the 3840 x 1080 monitor in full screen mode each projector will be playing the left or the right eye view respectivly. Couple this with a giant SilverFabric screen from Germany and some topnotch glass polorizing filters and glasses, this out to be a kick ass 3D experience.
