Using the 3D Vision glasses ? You can now tweak your glasses timings

I've released a GUI utility that lets you easily change the glasses timings that are used when you enter a stereoscopic 3d mode on your monitor, so you can change the active time (reduce ghosting) or tweak the delay before the eyes turn on, etc... Wow, this is fantastic, can't wait to try it :-D Any chance of an explanation (in layman's terms) of how you managed to do this? I have a particular interest as I've been trying to get a projector working in 3d mode but there is a 'desync' issue where the timing is out on the glasses v the display. Unfortunately my projector is back at BenQ at the mo for a repair and firmware upgrade.

Very cool. Always exciting to see new tools provided. Has me interested in taking another stab at trying to get a higher resolution than 720P@120hz working on my projector. Every other attempt I've made has failed, but pretty sure at least one or two of them ended in the unsupported mode, and maybe this might help get past that.

It's game changing. It makes custom refresh rates completely playable. Good bye, reversed eyes problem. Even 144Hz is decent. With my monitor, it's better to disable ULMB (which has a more aggressive overdrive) and instead reduce the active time in the glasses to get motion blur reduction again. For example, I got 80Hz with practically perfect crosstalk. You will have to alt+tab a lot to tweak the settings, but the end result is worth it (if you need something else than Lightboost at 100/120Hz).

So any chance of getting a decent write up on how to go about using this? So far I've figured out that my monitor would be the AUS27B1 from the drop down (which I got from loading up CRU and seeing it listed as that there), and I can either try to create a refresh rate from scratch, or copy one of the existing ones (to get the correct pixel settings for the left side), but how do you figure out what settings to use for the glasses timings? Like, z (frame time) seems somewhat explanatory, but what are W, X, and Y settings for? Also, it would be pretty cool if people posted up some profiles/settings that have worked for them on their displays.

you can for example reduce the active time (while increasing the one above it, delay before active, by the same amount) to have less ghosting (but also less brightness) while in 3d, the 4 glasses parameters are "dark magic" even according to the folks who reverse engineered the emitter firmware (i use the same names as them, https://sourceforge.net/p/libnvstusb/code/HEAD/tree/src/nvstusb.c#l212) however this tool is most useful when you create a CUSTOM TIMING in NVCPL, and when you do that, if you dont have a matching entry in the list (which you wouldnt if you didnt use the tool to create one) you would get the "unsupported resolution" warning while in 3d mode and the glasses timings would be all sorts of messed up. This way you get to copy an existing one and migrate/adjust the glasses timings to your new custom display timings. I know a lot of people since 2009 that asked for there to be some tweakable sliders for the glasses to try and alleviate ghosting (especially on the panels back then), and now I've made them so, as i needed it for a project of mine (i added Lightboost/ULMB to a pre-lightboost monitor, and am now attempting to create fully custom display electronics for the new AUO 1440p 27" panels that have come out, and i want 3D vision working on that frankendisplay)

If wanting to share timings with others you should, below your screenshot, click both encode buttons then copy paste the contents of the text boxes next to them, so others can just paste and Decode, instead of having to type all the parameters out.

To invert eyes using my tool, just change the Glasses command order to have RIGHT first then LEFT.
