I am asking because of this tv http://www.samsung.com/cz/consumer/tv-audi...tail&mode=C
there is not used 3d vision term but in the description there i used that "DDD software or Nvidia graphics card is converting three dimensional material, bla bla bla" creating impression as being compatible with 3d vision.
This tv is on marked and some people may have bought it as 3d vision compatible.
Hi
Unfortunately I cannot control all display partner marketing. That is why we have a logo program called "3D Vision-Ready". We work with display partners to test and certify their product.

I understand all that and the whole QC aspect of what you can "officially" support. What this incident proves is that it would be very user-friendly to be able to override all that when we have previously working equipment that is broken in numerous levels of drivers while Nvidia either figures out the problem or doesn't. If you don't want to support Samsung DLP any more, that is obviously Nvidia's right. But not allowing us to override it in an unsupported way is another thing altogether and is very user-unfriendly.

Our Samsung DLPs have been tested and they were working fine since 1.15. However, I think we have found the bug that was causing end user problems and have a beta driver being built to test it.
Hi Andrew, I'm also available to test the beta driver if you require additional assistance.
I have a Samsung HL61A750 and GTX 295.

Thanks for the update Andrew, and glad to here you guys think you've found the bug.. Basically, since Samsung discontinued their DLPs, it is understandable that it's hard to get the detection to work properly.
I have a feeling Mitsubishi worked with nvidia to get support, and Samsung didn't. While they use identical TI chips for 3D, possibly detection methods were different.
Can you answer this question, is EDID used for detection?
Note that the Samsung DLP was never an officially supported product.
[*]NVIDIA 3D Vision works with officially certified products because we have to certify the quality, timings, etc to ensure it works. Our SW checks to make sure the display is certified. Many of you are trying to use products that are not certified and believe that there are bugs in our SW if your product isn't detected.
So, Andrew, could you kindly give us a heads up that we supposedly can read this statement correctly as:
"nvidia has no plans to release a driver with the often requested user controls over advanced timing / sync parameters to compensate with ghosting on allthough "officially certified" but practically flawed products. Also the driver will at no time allow to activate the glasses on displays we asume worth supporting or until they have become certified"?
If so, it should seem advised to better stop posting suggestions and thoughts about ghosting problems with "3D Vision Ready" TFTs as the Sammy, Viewsonic and , lately, the Dell or not detecting DLPs and CRTs and leave it to see what will happen to 3Dvision....

I use a HL67 LED DLP from samsung and I got the 1.20 drivers and latest Geforce drivers to work only by making my samsung display a clone (and leaving my non 3D monitor as a primary monitor). It allows me to choose generic DLP on the monitor and it mirrors great on the the Samsung DLP even if the non 3D monitor is off.
Just something I thought I'd mention to those that may have a non 3D monitor plugged in to their machine as well as a Samsung DLP.

So you saying I gotta leave the second monitor hooked up, ahhh that makes sense. On the old 1.19 drivers I could do that but then switch the sammy back to primary and disconnect the non 3D screen, but now with 1.20 as soon as I disconnect it switches from Generic DLP to 3D vision discover. Duh, just clone and leave it hooked up, thanks.

Yeah, you got it...that works fine for me.
It seems like they got a proper fix coming. Andrew posted its coming soon... however at this point I'll believe it when I see it. :P

I'm guessing they're working this fix into part of a bigger driver release to go with Bioshock 2. Total random aside, I wish they'd work with Valve to get a driver notifier/downloading integrated into Steam.

I have tested the fix with about 4 Beta driver users already. I'm working on a schedule for NVIDIA.com posting.
Thanks for the patience.
