Broken 3D bluray playback since 'fake' 3D driver introduced (unfixable)
7 / 10
@Alp
very intersting...i guess 400 series is not anymore supported/improved so maybe the new driver are still compatible but without any changes for the old "fermi", so 460 keeps working fine.
Not a fix after six months...We are fooling ourselves aspecting for a fix soon.
GTX970 would be awesome but with this shameful issue i'll get rid of it as soon as R9-390 will come out...

Weird, for me with this latest driver, even WinDVD stopped working properly. It doesn't have the flickering issue, but doesn't have 3D either. I mean 3D is turned on everywhere, everything shows that the signal is 3D, but the image is not stereoscopic. The other players have 3D, but they also have the flickering :) Again, there's no option but to go back to an older driver for 3d content or I'm doing smth wrong.

Is this why people sue so much in America?
Due to companies having no communication with their customers, broken products, false advertising, they don't care etc
Hell we even had to pay extra for a function that doesn't work!!!
It makes cyberlink and other media player companies look bad, it makes hardware manufacturers making the 3D TV's and projectors etc look bad. It makes the customers angry and for what???
I wonder why 3D didn't take off like it should?
I think I'm going to report them to a consumer watch dog /get councils opinion and get the ball rolling, starting to get annoyed now.
They have had 1/2 a year to fix this and we are still none the wiser.
Maybe if they get sued they'll do something about it.
Just reading CEO of Nvidia talking about how he's excited about pascal. What a joke!
I experienced the same/similar issues and I can say, it's not only the newer drivers, it's a combination of GPU and driver:

Hi Alp,
You've made some excellent observations here and have confirmed something I've known for awhile.
Any nVidia cards up to the GTX 500 series do NOT seem to be affected by this 3D issue, anything GTX 600 or newer DOES. I could be mistaken but I tested a GTX 590 and it did not exhibit this issue with the latest drivers. But when I tested my GTX 680 it did.
when I even move a simple Window on the Desktop, it smears and flickers awfully. Or when you scroll a webpage you can't read anything until you stop for a while. This is absolutely NOT the case with the GTX460 in the 3D Mode.
Yes I get this issue as well.
Do you think I can make a bug report out of the above, since it's a bit hard to explain and they will shut me down instantly by telling, that Windows Server OS is not supported or something?
Yes do so.
To everyone else in this thread, I should re-emphasize that nVidia are definitely working on it. It's all well and good to jump up and down and complain about it, but I suggest be patient. It's probably something not easily fixed but it will DEFINITELY be fixed.

So this is clearly a bug with the drivers and with 600+ series gpu's--- for crying out loud, this is unacceptable, and yes issue is present on all 3D apps NOT just bluray. I realy realy don't see how this is not priority issue, as making a new driver for every single piece of crap game to come out is? WTS ASUS Geforce 770 GTX or trade for Radeon 280X...

Nvidia have had long enough to sort this out but they still haven't.
They are advertising and selling a product that doesn't work.
They are ignoring their customers and not giving any information or timeframe as to when it'll be fixed.
I've got a £1000 (when new) graphics card here that's doesn't work as advertised.
People are paying for 3DTV Play and it hasnt worked for 6 months.
It's not satisfactorily quality as described, it's not fit for purpose and has not lasted a reasonable amount of time.
It breaks the sales of goods act 1979 in the UK.

What makes you say that?
If you had read my previous post (#76) I mentioned that I had received email confirmation from nVidia that they're onto the issue. This was in response to a bug report I submitted. They mentioned that they would keep me posted when a driver would be released that had the fix. In the meantime, it's just a case of being patient.

Why is it not a 'known issue' in the driver notes if they are officially working on it?
You're probably just being fobbed off with a generic reply from customer services.

Be patient he says after 6 months! Are you having a laugh?
It's a 3D graphics card that cant play 3D. We had to pay extra for a license for support, can't you see how ridiculous that is?
We don't even know if Nvidia are working on it for sure. We've had no official info!
There's even moderators posting on other people's thread but on here we've had no response!
I'm a reasonable man, I can wait a few driver revisions or a few months but where do you draw the line?

I had to make an account just to say that I think I've discovered a workaround to fix this at least temporarily. I just watched a 3d movie with Powerdvd14, gtx 970 and windows 8.1 and the latest WHQL drivers.
When I first loaded the movie up it looked like crap and was unwatchable. Then I decided to try pausing the movie, changing the 3d method to 3d checkerboard in the Nvidia settings with Powerdvd still running. After that I switched back to 3dtv play and resumed the movie.
It worked great after that. I don't know if this is an isolated case with just my hardware and components but someone else should try this.

I've not tried it yet on my setup.
Seriuouster what resolution is your desktop at when playback a 3D film.
Did you set it to a 3D resolution first or 2D?
I hope this works.
