Pinball FX-2
  1 / 2
Available on Steam with a free-to-play-for-a-limited-time-feature, works fantastic in S3D, and has some fun tables (if you are old like me and remember what a pinball table is...). Only rendering 'issue', although it's minor, is that the dotmatrix screens are set a bit far back in depth, they could be a tad closer. If this is DX9 and anyone cares, it should be easy to fix that with Helixmod dll.

Damn is it pricey, I guess thats the cost of "licensed" material. I am gonna feel bad splurging on a $10 character for borderlands 2 but 9 for maps in pinball is expensive. Though Star Wars/Marvel is very tempting.... Its a bit lame that they dont give a deal on the non liscensed packs. I feel no need to buy them.

Yeah, I had not paid much attention to the cost I guess... There seems to be between 3-5 tables in each pack, and I did quite like a couple of them for the time limited period I was allowed. I think I will get one pack and hope I make the right choice (!) - $9 is not bad for a one off since it does actually look almost perfect in S3D... I'll report back if I end up regretting it...

It's free to try on steam - you get to play each table for about 3 minutes before it times out.

Pinball games are ideal for S3D with the fixed perspective, and the added depth really makes the gameplay so much more involving, with the playfield feeling more physical and defining the ramp and bumper elements much better. I've been waiting a long time for Pinball FX to come to Win 7 and for Pinball Arcade also. Let's hope the latter also works as well in 3D.

I have the first ZEN pinball on my 3ds. LOVE it! Used to have this arcade in my town back in the day, Planet Pinball. They did have tons of video games, but the main attraction was the 100 pinball tables they had lined up in a special room. I spent hours and probably hundreds of quarters playing pinball. :) Pinball fx2 will be a no brainer buy for me.

You can even create your own table if you know how.

This game is so much fun in 3D. Set Reflections off and its almost perfect. Tried a few settings... I found 100% depth with super low convergence worked the best for me. This is the opposite of the way I usually game in 3D but it works great. Highly recommend.

There's also a pinball game that's recently been greenlighted on Steam with some classic tables. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=95907686 http://pinballarcade.com/

Ooh, gonna have to try this. Never really thought about 3D for pinball, but of course it would make a massive difference. Keeping track of the action at the rear of the table always becomes tricky in (2D) pinball games, as it gets so crowded. 3D should help with that a lot.

It's pretty solid. Just been playing trial. I think I will buy a pack. After I buy the games that come out this week = / [Like 1 dlc + 2 games is pricey] Price seems a bit steep but its pretty high quality and its not like it has competition to compare it to. Have to turn off reflections in-game but then its perfect from what Ive played. I barely played but prototype's profile seems to either fix/improve reflections. I kind of found them distracting in 3D with this title regardless. I played a few of them on trial times, I recorded a clip on blog if interested but tbh, demo is free.
