I bought few days ago a new 3D monitor (Asus VG278H) and i am not able to install the 3D vision drivers.
After many searches, it seems that my graphical card Nvidia GeForce 540M is able to manage 3D vision technology.
My problem is that on many laptops (as mine Asus X53V) this graphical card is run in addition with an Intel HD graphic card (Intel HD graphic 3000) using PhysX/Optimus technology.
When i try to run the driver installation, it says that no compatible material has been found. SO i came to PhysX configuration in Nvidia parameters and it says that my monitor is plugged into the Intel HD graphical card and i ca not change this setting. (see attachment)
I tried many things as uninstall and deactivate Intel HD card but the Nvidia seems to be able to run without it.
Some 3D vision utilitaries says also that no 3D monitor is plugged on my Nvidia card (as an error message)
I have wasted many hours on this topic without finding any solution, so if you have an idea about it i would really appreciate it :)

I am having a similar problem. I am running the VG278H with a Quadro 4000 card in Windows 7, 64bit. The emitter not recognized and does not turn on, and the monitor shows up in Device Manager as "generic pnp monitor running 60Hz."
I attempted to install Nvidia Graphics Driver version 275.97 and the System Check returns the following message: "NVIDIA Installer cannot continue. This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware."
I attempted to install the Nvidia 3D Vision Controller and the following message appeared: "The InstallShield Wizard has successfully installed NVIDIA 3D Vision Controller Driver but failed to detect the driver service. Please check the device connection."
In the Nvidia Control Panel (Windows 7) under 3D Settings, Manage 3D settings, I set all the 3D settings to "ON." there is no "Set Up Stereoscopic 3D screen" wizzard, nor a "Test Stereoscopic Cd drop down menu and no access to the hardware setup test and the demo disc does not display in 3D.
I wrote to ASUS several days ago, but they have not replied.
The monitor works good in 2D, but I already own several excellent 2D monitors.

This is an update to my previous post. I telephoned the ASUS support number, which is not toll free. The tech told me to press the menu button on the monitor and go down to "System Setup" and then continue to the bottom of that menu list to "All Reset"(requires that you continue to a second "page") and select "yes." Nothing changed. In System Setup, there is an item, "3D IR Mode," which is grayed out. The tech told me there was nothing else to try except return to the seller or to them for repair.
I'm sure there is nothing wrong with the monitor because it works fine in 2D. I do not believe ASUS telephone or e-mail technicians know anything about their products and I do not believe they have any interest in assisting customers. A defective ASUS motherboard I purchased nine months ago which never worked, and which I returned for repair or replacement still has not been repaired or replaced, nor has my money been refunded. I expect that if I attempted to return this monitor I would never see it or my money again.
