Hello,
my problem is that I cannot activate steroscopic 3D.
In the NVIDIA Control Panel is no function about that. On my Tower-PC everything works fine.
Only on my laptop, which have a GT540m, I do not find it.
I tried a lot of drives, but nothing helps me. When I want to install the driver, I am not able to install the 3D drivers, because they are not listed.
I want to connect my laptop to my 3D TV.

Are you plugging in the stereo emitter into your laptop? I found that this was necessary for my laptop (msi gt683 with a 560M card in it) before it showed up the stereo settings. I also had to make sure that I was outputting *only* to the 3DTV and not the laptop screen as well. It's a real PIA actually and everytime I do it I have to mess about with something but it always works "in the end"...
**Edit - one last thing - make sure you are outputting to your TV through the nvidia card; if your laptop has on board graphics (e.g. Intel HD) it might be selecting that for output, and then 3d vision can't work.

Laptop video drivers are always a little bit dicey. Where are you getting these drivers? NVIDIA? Your laptop manufacturer?

I downloaded the drivers from the official NVIDIA Page. My laptop is a Packard Bell EasyNote TS11.

I select that dthe laptop only use the NVIDIA GPU. But maybe there are some problems with NVIDIA Optimus. In the BIOS I can only select the switchable mode or the Intel graphic.

- I don't think that I have a stereo emitter. (I don't know what that is :D) maybe you can show me a picture.
For 3D TV Play I just need the 3D TVPlay software, and a 3D-television. y TV is in the list with compatible TVs.
- My output is only on my 3D TV. My Laptop-Display is not active.
On my Desktop PCs I can also install the 3D Vision Driver. This is the only thing which is missing in the installation on my laptop.

Not having a stereo emitter explains it then I think. The stereo emitter is the infra-red emitter that comes with the Nvidia 3D Vision kit (emitter + glasses). What also comes with the kit is a license to use 3DTVPlay - software that is used to convert the video signals to HDMI 1.4 compliant so they can be sent to a 3DTV. Since you have not mentioned this, I am guessing you do not have 3DTV Play either? Without a 3D Vision Kit, you need to buy 3DTV Play separately - it costs $40 and you can get it from nvidia's website (nvidia.com). Without purchasing 3DTV Play, you cannot output 3D to a TV from your laptop. In my case, plugging the emitter into my laptop 'proves' that I bought the 3D Vision kit (it operates as a hardware dongle) and hence that I have a license to use 3DTV Play (which gets installed with the 3D Vision drivers).
EDIT - I just read your post properly (looked initially on my iphone which chopped some of the message off - sorry). You do know about 3D TV Play, but have you bought a license to use it - on both desktop and laptop? If not, then I am not sure why the stereo items appear on the desktop and not the laptop, but as Zloth posted the laptop drivers are more finicky than the desktop versions.
EDIT EDIT - If you look in Windows Control Panel at the installed applications, look to see if the 3d vision driver has been installed. I've had the problem in the past when the Nvidia control panel did not display the stereo drivers, or show them in the 'system info' list, but the windows control panel did show that they were correctly installed.

I use the trial of 3DTV Play.
But I think, that I had to activate the 3D Option in the NIVIA Control Panel.
But the entry for steroscopic 3D is completely missing.
In the NVIDIA Control Panel are only this options:
- 3D settings
- Video
When I install a graphic Card driver on my desktop PC there are a few more (3D Vision Driver etc.) things which get installed.
When I install a graphic Card driver on my Laptop there only the driver and PhysX get installed.
The 3D Vision Controller and the 3D Vision Driver are missing everytime.
In my Windows Control panel is ony the 3D Vision Controler listed. Not the 3D Vision driver. The last one is missing.
I reinstalled the driver a lot of times and I tried a lot of driver verions. Nothing helps.
Or is 3D Vision not necessary when I have 3DTV Play?
Edit :D hmm It doesnt work. I tried it, and thats no 3D.
I think I need 3D Vision :O
Uhm I think I also need the 3D Vision Kit also for 3DTV Play lol...

Last thing I can think of is to manually install the 3dvision driver:
- Go here: C:\Win7(werever you have it)\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\301.42(or whatever version you have)\WinVista_Win7_64(whichever one is relevant)\English
- There should be a series of subdirectories, one of which is NV3DVision
- Go in it, and there should be an executable called 3DVision_301.42.exe
- Run it manually by double clicking it.
- Then check Windows Control Panel, for installed applications.
If this does not install correctly, then I'm afraid it's up to laptop/nvidia support...
I already tried the manual install.
In the Windows Controll Panel is the sterescopic 3D driver now.
But there is still no steroscopic 3D option in the NVIDIA Control Panel :D
When I restart my PC now, 3DTV Play opens and after I press ok, to continue the trial I get this error:
"The adapter of the primary display doesn't support 3D Vision" (I translated it from german to englisch)
But my Primary Display is my Television :O And my tv supports 3D

The 'adapter' of the primary display is not referring to your TV, but to the *graphics adapter* that is outputting to your TV. This error message suggests that the on board graphics is being used to output to the primary display, not the nvidia card. This seems to be a common problem with optimus technology and there is a whole other thread on these forums about this (which you should check out).
Basically it now seems to be boiling down to making absolutely sure that the nvidia card is being used to output to the TV. I am not sure how to do this, but one complete guess might be to start a game that might kick in the optimus technology to use the nvidia card, alt-tab out of the game and keep the game running, then try and install 3DTV Play while the game is running in the background - I emphasize that is a complete guess, but is something I would try just to see...

I had a similar problem with my ion netbook.
You have to install the Nvidia drivers while connected via hdmi cable to a 3D display.
If not, 3D drivers will not be installed (even if selected), I don't know why.

I've had the problem in the past when the Nvidia control panel did not display the stereo drivers, or show them in the 'system info' list, but the windows control panel did show that they were correctly installed.

You have to install the Nvidia drivers while connected via hdmi cable to a 3D display.
If not, 3D drivers will not be installed (even if selected), I don't know why.

I had a similar problem with my ion netbook.

Yes, I am 100% sure it is the problem with Optimus, Nvidia is so stupid...
