Hi all,
I am a complete newbie to this NVIDIA community. I am starting a project concerning about creating 3D object taking the advantage of NVIDIA stereoscopic 3D with the glasses. I have install NVIDIA Direct3D 10 and NVIDIA OpenGL SDK 10 and have some sample demos running, it looks cool with Direc3D sample in Fullscreen mode but I dont know why with OpenGL samples it doesnt have any 3D effect?
Can you pls tell me what is the right tool to develop a stereoscopic 3D application and a way to start, I got stuck now. The introduction and tutorial in NVIDIA site seems too high for starters like me.
I am thinking about some settings for normal OpenGL application for instance Qt OpenGL to make it become stereoscopic 3D application.

Unless you have a quadro card you can't get Stereoscopic 3D in OpneGL.

Unless you have a quadro card you can't get Stereoscopic 3D in OpneGL.

Opengl application will not show up in 3D unless it has been programmed to output in 3D. It doesn't work like normal direct3D based games which can turn into 3d when in fullscreen (the conversion is done by 3d drivers). So make sure whatever opengl application you are running can output in 3D using quad buffered opengl stereo. You also need to change some settings in the nvidia control panel to get it working. Look at the following page for details.

I have decided to change development framework to Direct3D.
I have followed some example of DIect3D and was successfully running some apps. When I put the application in Fullscreen mode, the GPU automatically recognized it as a 3D application and the screen shows that it is in 3D mode, also the glasses, everything seemed to work. Opengl application will not show up in 3D unless it has been programmed to output in 3D. It doesn't work like normal direct3D based games which can turn into 3d when in fullscreen (the conversion is done by 3d drivers). So make sure whatever opengl application you are running can output in 3D using quad buffered opengl stereo. You also need to change some settings in the nvidia control panel to get it working. Look at the following page for details.

I have decided to change development framework to Direct3D.
I have followed some example of DIect3D and was successfully running some apps. When I put the application in Fullscreen mode, the GPU automatically recognized it as a 3D application and the screen shows that it is in 3D mode, also the glasses, everything seemed to work. However, I couldnt see the effect of a stereoscopic application, I just looked like normal applications.
What did I forget to do? any help please.

Did you try any other application based on Direct3D to see if your setup can show 3D properly? Which 3D display you are using? Do you have 3D objects in the scene you have created?

Sample 3D applications in Direct3D SDK works just fine. I am using NVIDIA quad fx 380 and ViewSonic GeForce 3D vision ready display and I dont think the1re is any problem with my setup.
