Anyone had a chance to try this yet? I'm downloading it now, will be finished in a couple of hours. Rumor has it using the same engine as Dying Light so 3D will probably be unplayable as is, but I'll try the Dying Light fix and see what happens.

If it`s using same engine then CM will work great on it. As far as I remember the original one wasn`t that great in quality of 3D fix - some effects been switched off.
Definitely post some screenshots if you get it to work in CM please.

It is big time broken in 3D vision. I applied the Dyling Light fix, but it is not helping (see pictures attached). CM I haven't tried yet.
But what is funny that the fix actually seems to work in the loading screen, just not in the game.

???
Dying Light is not Dead Island.
While I agree Dying Light is miles better... some people will want to play both no? Dead Island is a great coop game as well.
Dead Island remaster actually looks pretty damn good visually. Every texture in game was redone.
This isnt even talking about bloom. depth of field, etc
Shadows were super grainy even on PC.
Tbh, Dying Light does look better visually[obviously] but its really not that much of a leap. Its pretty close.

That said hopefully some of the many bugs were fixed..

If those "definite edition" are running the same engine than Dying Light.... anyone can grab the Dying Light fix and use it as a reference...i put comments in all the shaders.
For shadows and lights is necessary to increase one of the constant buffer # to grab the inverse projection matrix...that's the tricky part.

I would but I did not understand the difference from DX9 (Bob's school) to DX11 games...

This game is currently on sale at Steam for 75% off with winter sales. Since I'm having issues applying the fix to the original version, any idea if the Definitive edition is fixed, or if the fix works with Definitive version as well?
I have the original version which is no longer available on Steam, and there's a fix for original. The fix isn't working for some reason now, but I'm afraid if I get the Definitive edition I'll lose the original version completely? Or will I have both versions available in my Steam library? Thanks :)

The original versions of Dead Island are still in your Steam library after buying the definitive edition.
I haven't tried to apply the original fix to the remastered games but I think it's very unlikely that this will work. I like the definitive edition as the developer took a lot of effort to enhance graphics.
