I had similar situation and decided to slice 60gb off of my non-os hard drive and install win7 on it. That way you dont have to re-install everything and every game, just dragon age. Might be viable option for you too.

Yes, I'd also like confirmation if the fix doesn't work with Windows 8.1 from Bob or Mike. I don't have Windows 7 to test on. I can also test the alpha fix myself. However the link provided by Losti for the github download doesn't seem to be valid anymore.

Interesting... I fixed Dice/Bioware's problem regarding crashing when entering/exiting cinematics for Single GPU/SLI (on single screen) AND MORE IMPORTANTLY in Surround!!! (Where I was crashing on every freaking cinematic...couldn't even create a char!!!)... (Ofc it is in the game's code... -_-). So far 3h in the game from start..counted around 19 cinematics no crash... I actually HAD to exit the game FOR ONCE! ^_^. This fix should address this issue which is present FOR EVERYONE (3D Vision user or not). ------------------- Other news: Hud is almost fixed! Still need to find 1-2 shaders... So almost there:) PS: since people are asking...Don't know about Win8. I'm using Win7 here no problems with the wrapper.

Apologies, but when I fix serious problems, I want the remove the old code variants so there is no confusion. For the Win8.1 problems, as far as I know at present the wrapper itself does not have any 8.1 problems. It's working in multiple other games. The only strange variant is using my system32 hack- but that works in WatchDogs. If someone can confirm that they can run WatchDogs with wrapper on 8.1, that would confirm that is working there.

Ok, on windows 7 it works~ish. I had to restart it so the shadows worked but a lot of things were broken in 3d with a lot of artifacting going on in the snow. But I'm just assuming that's because it's in alpha state. The logs don't show anything going wrong. There are a couple of anomalies, like the annoying driver-signing thing on 8.1 giving an error for a load of d3d11.dll, but it doesn't seem to cause a problem, as the driver continues to run and load shaders like I expect. If you know of a way around the driver-signing junk in 8.1, that might be worth a try, but realistically I think it's fine.

- The wrapper is working properly. The artifacting you are seeing is due to SLI. A bug in the game's code.
- For the second problem... I BET you didn't read the description and I bet you didn't set those settings like there:) Once you do that you will get 100% constant & persistent results.

No direct hate for win8 except the normal one. Lack of start bar, forced on the horrific app dashboard crap and mostly no F8 key so I can go in safe mode.:)) For me Safe Mode is like the second half of windows. Since I am constantly OCcing and doing lost of stuff that requires "clean install removal" of drivers not being able to get into safe mode easy is a deal breaker... (Ps: I know how to trigger Win8 in safe mode on reboot but what happend to F8 ?)

Judging by the current state of BF4 (which is the same) and still have SLI issues and people are reporting the same problems and crashes in Surround... I guess DICE will not patch the engine for DA:I. That's right, DICE needs to patch the engine not Bioware not EA.

I don't know tbh. My fix will actually benefit multi-screen users anyway as is also removing the black-bars that you see in every cinematic. Those nasty DX errors? are part of this fix.
