WHERE ARE ALL THE 120 LCD MONITORS? did they decide to stop making 22" 120hz lcds?
I don't know if anyone else has kept an eye on 120hz lcd's but now that i finally have $200 and thought i might find a cheap 22" 120hz lcd it apears that they are all GONE! It's like they stopped making the 22" models once the slightly larger ones came out. perhaps there was a large surge in people buying these monitors so now they are harder to find and more expensive.

All i know is that i barely use my 3d glasses with my crt because of the ghosting. If i'm going to be forced to spend 300-400 on an lcd then I'd just assume drop $450 on a dlp projector, which if i had that money i already would have gotten one. i think i'm just going to sell the glasses all together to get this tank of a crt off my desk and go grab a good 24"lcd for regular non 3d vision gaming.

perhaps someone can find a supply of $200 22" 120hz monitors, cause i can't. the price is supposed to go down over time right?? they are supposed to get more efficient and less expensive. I don't want crappy 3d ghosting on my crt and i guess i can't afford a proper dlp display so i give up.

I was kind of wondering myself why there haven't been more 120 Hz LCDs, as I had assumed the market would all follow suit after Samsung and Viewsonic with 120 Hz just being the next logical step for normal monitors, replacing 60 Hz as the standard.

But then most people can hardly tell the difference between 60 FPS and 120 FPS, so I can see why monitor producers are sticking with 60 Hz for the most part, probably because it's cheaper. 120 Hz panels will probably remain a niche product for 3D gamers and competitive FPS players that need every extra frame, rather than becoming the next standard over 60 Hz.

Maybe once stereoscopic 3D fully enters the mainstream (if ever), we'll start to see it become the norm, but until then it'll be slim pickings.

I think the ACER 235Hz is an excellent monitor for 3D and not too bad for 2D.
I have been a PC gamer for 20 years and in my opinion 3DVision is the biggest advance in PC gaming since Directx8.
The experience of BatmanAA, Metro2033, CODMW2 and others (Dark Void, Mirrors Edge, Bioshock2)in 3D on my $400 Acer 3D monitor MUCH more immersive and enjoyable than on my $2000 DELL 30" (2560X1600) monitor in 2D.

In my opinion a 3D (120Hz) 2560x1600 30" monitor would provide a better experience than 3DVision surround. It would provide a better aspect ratio and give better overall performance since only 4million pixels would be drawn per frame rather than 6 million.

My current rig using GTX480s overclocked for example results in only 45-55fps (for each eye) in metro 2033 using only dx9, high settings (plays very smooth at these settings but using dx9 very high subtract 20fps and very staccato) . DX10 or dx11 very high give average 30 fps per eye, with some scenes below 20fps per eye, unplayable.

Metro is perhaps an extreme example of a title with very high gpu requirements (and very high image quality, unbelieveable!) but there are others (BattlefieldBC2, JustCause2).
Most other games will run very well in 3DVision with just one GTX400 card.
