3D Vision Ready - biggest lie in rating ever Don't buy 3D screens unless you test them
  1 / 3
I hope NVIDIA can see this.

I have bought a 3D kit in 2009(two months after official release of the 3D Vision) a 2233RZ monitor from Samsung and 3D vision. I was very excited at the beginning.
I fired up 3D inside a game. It took me 30s to see the ghosting on the top of the screen as it was for the first time with 3D.
First I thought it was my fault, and searched internet up and down. There was only one person that had the same issue and it was here in the forums.
Since then a long research started including nvidia support team and other user experiences.
There are almost 2 years since nothing happen.
There are almost 2 years since we are getting no official answer neither from NVIDIA neither from screen manufacturers.
There are almost 2 years since we are getting 3D Vision ready labeled LCDs Plasmas LED TVs or monitors.
I would say that half of the guilt is at NVIDIA.
HOW CAN YOU LABEL A PRODUCT THAT IS NOT WORKING AS BEING 3D VISION READY?
I have always associated NVIDIA with a great company that delivers best 3D experience.
I always liked the graphic cards and motherboards. I always liked their promptitude supporting users with their issues.
I like the NVIDIA community.
I don't like the fact that they labeled monitors as being 3D Vision ready when they are not.
When you buy a 3D Vision ready screen it is like buying a broken TV. I have never seen this in my entire life.
What do you want to see at your new monitor or TV... you want to see great contrast great brightness great black levels great you expect a new TV or monitor to make you say "woooow". But unfortunately 3D screens today are far far away.
2010 was the year of 3D boom. Thousands of people bought thousands of screens labeled as 3D Vision ready.
And they starting complaining here on the forums, and they are asking for help.
You need to help them... us...
I know you can

NVIDIA PLEASE STOP LABELING 3D SCREENS THAT HAVE GHOSTING OR OTHER MAJOR FLAWS.
Please ... you are wasting our money...our time...our nerves...

Everybody who wants to jump on the 3D-Vision-Train should read some information before.
The used technics can never be completely ghosting-free, that should be clear before buying.

And the 2233RZ is the first 3D-Vision-Monitor on market - I have an Alienware AW2310 here and have to say that ghosting is not that bad.
There is some ghosting at the first 1 or 2 cm on top of the screen and some high contrast-ghosting but it is not really distracting.
In the cinemas there is sometimes more ghosting visible.

If ghosting is really that bad for you, you should really think about a DLP-projector-solution as it is ghosting-free.

I have seen almost all LCD Monitors rated as 3D Vision Ready.
Yes it annoys me. It shouldn't exist.
That is why you pay for. Do you like paying for stuff that does not work?
Did they mention you are going to buy a monitor that has Ghosting??????!?!
Come on... Let's face it they should label these screens as 3D Ready with Ghosting
If I would have known from the beginning I would have kept my money and waited for something else.

P.S. I think this could go sticky so that everyone should now what to expect to.

Yeah right. And you should never see a bug in any game you ever buy. And anyone should have been able to travel from Europe to North America in perfect safety right after Columbus.

The monitors are 3D Vision Ready. They are not 3D Vision Perfect. If you had done even a little research, you would know that. Don't blame NVIDIA because you didn't bother to find out what you were buying. (And making the topic sticky wouldn't help a bit. Information about ghosting is all over the internet, including this forum. Making the topic more visible does not help people who have their eyes closed.)

I am very pleased with the 2233RZ monitor I've got..!
So are the people who are playing here...the ghosting is minimal...

Zloth is right,we do not life in a perfect world...!
In these 80 years or so,electronics have improved a great deal...but you cannot expect ,that everything you buy is perfect...
Everything needs time, just be happy with what you got...

Hi guys... you are quite funny.
If you have bought a monitor that was flickering for example?
What would you have said?
"oh well we don't live in a perfect world..."
You miss the point

Zloth my friend... in 2009 3D tech was very new.
In fact when Ulrick28 posted the thread with ghosting there were very few people that even bought the product.
He and I were the few who have started complaining. We did not even knew how to technically name the issue.
Now you come and say that I should have document for the errors that the product may have??? When it is advertised to be working???
Man you should wake up.

I think the main issue here is that ghosting is worse (specifically top of screen ghosting) for a significant proportion of users than the majority and we feel that our issue is not acknowledged even when a solution can obviously be achieved (sync adjustment). The longest running problem thread on this forum is the top of screen ghosting and even with that and many users seeking help through the official support system the problem has not been officially acknowledged.

Hi BigDubs,

Agreed.

We won't get that...as Andrew from nvidia said... they prefer to adjust the settings to optimal settings.(aka 3D Vision profiles)
Now from what I have read until now even with sync adjustment you won't be able to do something.
It because of the pixel change time of LCD and LED screens. All manufacturers overdrive pixel transition by overvolting them ...which translates into ghosting for 3D :) ... for 2D you get those amazing 2 ms response time :p ... again false ads.
For example at plasmas Panasonic reduced the phosphorescence decay times in order to obtain ghost free images.
But anyway....let's get Plasmas :D and good ones

There is not a 3D solution in the world (aside from dual-screen HMDs) that doesn't suffer from ghosting to some extent. Even in the RealD movie theaters, with equipment costing like $50,000, there is some ghosting in there (albeit very small). So don't expect a $300 consumer level product to all of a sudden solve all these issues. Even $2000 3D HDTVs have ghosting (although maybe not as bad as the top of screen on Nvidia 3D Vision). Hopefully they will improve this on later models.

Cannot imagine that ! Undertoker..I WAS and still AM blown away the awesome feeling I get in playing a game in 3d.. ghosting or not...
Like playing Dead space now..this games has more problems then only ghosting, but the game is way more fun and imersive then playing in 2d.

What games have you tried so far ?
I gues it's the only ones, with the most problems...?
