Hi,
I have some drivers from last year installed and I am enjoying Dead Space 3 in 3D, which is almost excellent for me. I have read that with the newest drivers Dead Space 3 3D rating is "poor".
Is it worth to update the drivers? I am also playing Tomb Raider in 3D @high settings with GTX 560 and average fps about 40 and I hoped the update would improve my fps.

Hi, provided that in Dead Space 3 you apply the Helix tweak, the game works wonderfully with either drivers
http://helixmod.blogspot.it/2013/02/dead-space-3-3d-vision-fix.html
Thanx for the answer. I installed the newest beta drivers (314.14) and it did spoil 3D in Dead Space 3. I applied Helix tweak, but I don't know how to explain it - all the objects, lights and shadows rendered correctly, however I felt uncomfortable playing. I guess there was a problem with convergence for me, although I used "U" key to adjust it. So finally, I decided to go back to old drivers: 310.64
It's not perfect but my eyes can stand 2 hours of playing with no problems.
As to Tomb Raider - 314.14 drivers helped with the well-known crash issue but only raised my FPS in benchmark by 1 frame.

I strongly recommend you keep using the Helix Mod, all you have to do is change the convergence yourself, the Helix mod does not fix it in stone. If you have not already, enable all the nvidia hotkeys in the control panel, by selecting the 'advanced' option, then in game press and hold Ctrl-F5 to reduce convergence (which is probably what you want from the sound of it). You can even save it using the Helix mod by pressing F7 when you get the settings how you like them 9it will save to the currently 'cycled' view when pressing the U key).

Thanx for advice. I will use it next time I have a problem with convergence. I have already finished DS3 and I don't intend to play the DLC cause it's too scary for me. :)

Convergence settings is something it must be done by each player, never use a pre-configured convergence settings. It's a very private setting. Enable advanced shortcuts in the Nvidia control panel, and mess around till you find your sweet spot, then saved by hitting F7 using the Helix mod. Don't ever use a pre configured convergence setting or you'll get tons of headaches. Every person's eye is different therefore everyone has to adjust it's own convergence settings.
This has nothing to do with any drivers at all, you must adjust tne convergence settings yourself. Problem solved...

3D_happy, I see that you have finished the game, however:
my experience:
I discovered some kind of glitch between DS3 and 3Dvision, and maybe that's the origin of your "convergence" troubles: sometimes 3D vision is displayed with focus planes not in perfect position (the image perceived is more flat, and sight is somewhat painful): you see 3Dvision on, yet it's not the perfect image (with correct depth proportions, just like it should be like seeing the scene from a window, Clarke out of the screen) I was talking about: U keypress won't do the trick; mostly you have to quit and restart the game, sometimes the "perfect" 3D vision comes on after a while of gameplay
I'd suggest to go for Awaken too, altough it's the price that's scary :-) for a tiny episode...
And case you'd be interested in the three coop missions, just let me know :-)
