DLP screen goes blank playing videos? since latest driver?
This isnt particularly about 3D, but i didnt know a better place to post this topic than here since i think most ppl with DLPs attached to their nvidia GPUs are probably using 3DVision:
Every time i open a video file or even a webpage with an embedded flash video player, my screen goes blank for a second or two and then comes back on, like it does when changing resolution or something. VLC used to always make the screen go black when i switched from fullscreen to windowed view, and when i fullscreen youtube videos they always seemed to do it too, but now everything does it, even when in windowed mode, as soon as i open a video file. MPC never used to do the blank screen thing, which is why ive been using it instead of VLC for the past year or two, but now even if does it.
This all started happening around the time i installed the latest WHQL driver, iirc. I dont know if it has something to do with yet another change in how resized resolutions are displayed or what, but its very frustrating to miss the first few seconds of every video i ever watch.

I have had the same problem after installing new whql drivers. It was too annoying so i shifted to the old version again and its running fine. I would very much like to update my driver but again the video problem starts. Please let me know if there is a solution to it.

i reverted to the last driver and its still happening to me. every time i open a youtube video or local video file... so annoying, especially when youre trying to watch something that starts right away and you cant even see it.

I am experiencing this same issues as described in this thread.
I have a GT 430 from Zotac using 296.10 WHQL drivers from Nvidia's site. I have a Sony DLP.
Every time I access any type of video function the screen goes black. I use VLC for videos. However, my screen also goes black seemingly randomly during the playback of any movie.
The "blackness" is almost the same type of blackness you'd get if you were to unplug a monitor, and then replug it in, at which time Windows "rediscovers" it and applies the settings. In other words, if I were to unplug my LCD monitor on my other computer and then plug it back in, it's similar to that effect.
Except for one thing. The audio never stops (it's being carried by mini HDMI) and generally it happens faster.
I don't know what to do about this. I ordered another HDMI cable thinking it's the culprit but that's probably a waste of money.
What are the versions of drivers you're using that have fixed this issue?

Another DLP user here.
Somehow it does not bother me as much as some of you.
Lets hope NV will address this on the next release.
