I know, but all this marketing bull made people believe it's actual 'LED' monitor, and not just simple ol' plain LED monitor, with difference that it uses LED's instead of CCFL for backlight.
There sure is some difference, main in power consumption, and possibly better white colors, but good quality CCFL LCD's can still cope easily with majority of LED backlit monitors.
However, 'proper' LCD (aka OLED/AMOLED) monitors would be way more suited for S3D, but as we know.. issues with current technology.
Some day...

Omar, are you talking about actual LEDs? Like OLED? The life time of the blue led's are not as long as red and green yet and so they wear down more quickly, leading to bad picture quality. I'd still take one...
Heres a good website for OLED news: oled-info.com Also, Engadget has some good info.

RGB LED is much better than AMOLED when it comes to 3D, even if it's edge lit.

Usual marketing crap, which is just LED backlit, or 'real' LED monitor, aka OLED/AMOLED?
