Would you pay if nvidia made deals to release stereoscopic movies?
  1 / 2
Well I was reading about 3d movies that worked topic, and one person there suggested a video on demand setup.

I myself think it's a great idea. Getting nvidia to make deals with companies to sell there videos in a 3d version where we could watch with the glasses. 3d movies are making a huge comeback again. It happens every 5-10 years I know then dies out and goes away. This could be the chance for it to finally make it mainstream!

So lets post our opinions here, if you never request it, you never get it.

If nvidia made the deal and allowed us to buy the movies {like an itunes store deal.} Would you buy them?

My answer....

OH YEAH! I love 3d movies and would probably buy a copy of every 3d movie they released.

I am currently waiting till payday to buy a couple off ultimate 3d heaven. {Encounters in the third dimension and night of the living dead :) }
I will post how well they work when I get them, probably 2-3 weeks as they have to be shipped from us and I'm canadian, eh.

Of course I would pay, I think we all would. We've all spent $600+ on a 3d monitor and glasses, I think we practically *expect* to be able to pay to watch 3d movies at some point.

yep id pay if its in the range of itunes or other vop services.
preferably it would be a mix of normal priced feature movies like ice age 3, up, monsters vs aliens, bloody valentine... and less expensive short movies or independent films.
it would also be cool if it opens up a channel for smaller, independent 3d-studios just like apples store for iphone applications
atm i think it really hurts both nvidia, us and the guys that want to produce stereo 3d content that there is no real distribution channel.

yes I would not hesitate the HD video in 3d is amazing , wheres al the content makers, seems to be a decent market that would only grow larger with exclusive content.

It would be great if more 3d shutter glasses movies were released. I would gladly pay either via on demand or for an actual DVD from nVidia. Everyone who reads this topic and is interested should reply to try to encourage nVidia to make some 3d movie deals!

Mark me down as another that would be glad to pay for new and old stereo 3d movies on demand or to purchase, providing they work well with the player.

We're too small a group, nobody cares about a fraction of 1 percent of people currently owning 3d shutter glasses

I'm afraid that movies are not under nvidia's control. It's all about hollywood.

Some 3D movies exist in 3D dvd form but they are not many.
The big content industry already has plans for releasing 3D movies and for now the plan is the new 3D-Blu-Ray format and nothing else. They are expected to arrive for the christmas season 2010.

More importantly, Hollywood and TV manufacturers (especially Sony) is making sure that as little content as possible is released until they are ready with their own lines of 3D televisions and glasses. They do that by forcing hollywood to use Blu ray and by delaying the official specs for the 3D blu-ray format and not releasing their own 3D games for the PS3 (Wipeout HD and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue) which are already patched and fully working, and shown at many press events.
Make no mistake, it's not about customers, it's not about the movies, it's not about 2D vs 3D, it's only about money.

Im willing to pay but i dont want to just stream the video for a day i want to own it!

We dont need hard copy 3d titles at least let us pay to download some!

nvidia would be smart to do this cause then we can show everyone some 3d videos you actually can sit down and watch with your friends

THEY NEED TO GET THE BALL ROLLING!
