new member (3d newb) needs assistance with wired usb 3d vision glasses driver issue?
I recently installed a new gtx 680 and that's working wonderfully. however the wired nvidia 3d glasses I purchase aren't detected in the setup wizard. sometimes after multiple driver reinstallations, the setup wizard detects it, but says there is no driver. I really need help on this, starting to get frustrated. also after browing through the internets, I read about 120hz monitors, are these required for this particular type of glasses to work? thanks

My friend those 3Dvision glasses will only work with an emitter and a supported 120 hz monitor.

why would WIRED glasses need an emitter? and even without a supported monitor the driver should be detected for the glasses.....or does the setup wizard mean there is no driver for a 3d display? "driver not detected" is pretty vague!

thanks for educating a newb btw

I think the driver is looking for a 120hz monitor, that you don't have...
You can try ..and try,but as long as you don't have a 120hz 3d monitor ,you won't be able to install the drivers..

Do you have a link of the glasses you have ?

Yep those are wired allright...

So they don't need a emitter as far as I know, but you still need a monitor...
And those aren't cheap, especially the new ones... http://www.amazon.com/Acer-GD235HZbid-Widescreen-23-6-Display/dp/B0035KC3R0/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1334392500&sr=1-1
