My 3D PC build

Hey guys, I really want to get into the 3d experience and I'd like it if you can look over my build and answer two questions for me.
1) 4gb or 8gb How much memory does 3d vision use... or is it all based on the graphics card? (I'm computer ignorant) I got 4 gigs now and my usage is always around 80% in 64 bit 7
2) Is there such a thing as too much power? Do i stick with the 850 or go higher with 1000-1200? I've never OC'd so I'm not really sure how much power I'd be using.

4gb is fine and 850 is fine but get 2 graphics cards for sli, also you might want an 8x bluray for 3d bluray, h50 cooler will be fine. May as well get an atx motherboard for an atx case.

If you want to watch 3d blue rays be very carefull which monitor you buy. The standard 3d Samsung SyncMaster 2233RZ (the default 3d ready kit) does not support 3d blueray playback.

I second getting another vid card. I have almost the same setup but with dual 460s. My i5 is OCed to 3.6 and I can play most things maxed out with pretty good framerates at 1920x1080 with the dual 460s. 4GB of RAM is def enough.

The i5-760 is another great choice also.
if you intend to do some o'clocking you may need an aftermarket cooling fan for it.
I use an AC Freezer 7 that keeps the Lynfiled at 34c idle and low 60c under load.
It runs cool and quiet.
I wished I could get a 2nd card for sli.
To do that though I need to upgrade my mobo.

You should opt for AMD & stuff in order to spare enough money to buy a 3d ready projector. You can make the screen yourself . Seriously, try it.

I'm definitely going to stick with a rear projector for performance and ease of use for now. I am pretty envious of folks who have entire rooms dedicated to a front projector.

As for the ram I'm going to switch the 8gb with 4.

Q: How important is the timing on ram?
I'm going from 9-9-9-24-2N
To 7-8-8-26

1.5v

I'm no expert on RAM so I can't comment there but I also used the ASUS P7P55D Deluxe for my build (i5 750) and it is a really nice mobo. I'll just reiterate that you'll want another 460 in SLI for max performance in 3D.

I'm no expert on RAM so I can't comment there but I also used the ASUS P7P55D Deluxe for my build (i5 750) and it is a really nice mobo. I'll just reiterate that you'll want another 460 in SLI for max performance in 3D.
