Enhancement Request : Dev pls read preset and loadable convergences
Dear 3D stereo devs,

Game genres like car racing, fligh simulators, or any other vehicular simulator be it water submersible or space worthy vessel games , and even some first person shooter and definitely some role playing games where first and third person views are allowed , all these genres share a common characteristics : for flight and other vehicular simulators , close view when inside the bumpit (or in first person perspective for other genres) that involves only a small depth range , and external views (or third person perspective) that involves a much larger depth range.

These two different depth ranges require users must constantly adjust and readjust the convergence of these two spaces when they leave one and enther the other and vice-versa.

In all the following flight simulators, MS Combat Flight Simulator 3, MS Flight Simulator 2004, IL-2 Forgotten battles and its add-ons, Lock-On: Modern Air Combat and its addons, Janes’ F/A 18, Janes’ WW2 Fighters, Project 1: Strike Fighters, Wings Over Vietnam, Falcon 4: Allied Force, Enemy Engaged Comanche Hokum, and HEAT, GPL, and other Nascar racing titles, as well as most of the Rally racing titles, when users leaving the inside bumpit view to go to external views , specially in flight simulators, users have to click Ctrl-F6 combo keys approximately from 100 to 150 times in order to get the convergence suitable for external views . The same number of combo keys Ctrl-F5 also needed to pressed when users come back inside view from external (from third person back to first person view, these key presses are often requires less clicks but still it remains a non precise, time consuming that interfere with the immersion feeling) . These click fests are at best big annoyances and at worst I've seen were destroying happy families of wonderful people and many small children.

Please consider provide an enhancement to the two combo keys that you have currently in the stereo3D driver namely Ctrl-F5 and Ctrl-F6 (decrease/increase convergence) to allow the following:

-Set convergence for inside bumpit and save that setting
-Set convergence for external views and save that setting
-From then on, whenever user leaving one space of depth range into the other space of a different depth range, user needs to only push another key (or combo keys) to load the preset convergence for that space . This key can either be just a toggle key for both settings. (Toggling involves most only two key strokes, that beats 150 key strokes any day).

This enhancement will be enjoyed by millions gamers/simmers who will continue to buy graphics cards that powered by Nvidia family of chips until there is no tomorrow. :D

Most appreciative

PS. Did I humbly mentioned please put this enhancement into the coming release 81.85 of the stereo3D driver , pretty please ? /smile2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':))' />

Actually when I think about this more, the convergence reload key should not be toggle (ie . one key shared to load both sets of convergences) but should be separate keys . These two keys (or combo keys) can then be assigned to be the same as that of the games' inside view key and external view key.

By going inside the pit (the previous post replace all my co*ckpit with "bumpit" , I think that's pretty childish and the filter used was damn primitive, what is a bumpit ?) the user click the key or combo keys and at the same time load the convergence setting for that space . Similarly, when going out to external view, the user has to push another key (or combo) which also assigned in stereo3D control panel to be the same key (or same combo) , voilà, there is no discontinuity going from one depth range to another. Everybody will be happy and love the devs even more ...

Please make this enhancement in the coming stereo3d release ... /yes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Hi Devs,

It would be ideal to have these settings and their reloading keys to be saved with the config profile of a game since games have different key strokes for inside and outside views. This way whenever a game is played, users don't have to re-assigned these re-load convergence keys . Another user friendly feature that's worth considering.

Wow, this totally makes sense . I've been so in need of a feature like this one. Nvidia do it please . Perl you da man .

Just digged this feature request that I posted 4 years ago when I was using username Perllog. Amazing it's still in the forum. I'd like to renew this request for 3D Vision setup please.

Good idea guys, I am taking notes. Ideally game developers would dynamically control convergence in their game based upon the views, but I totally understand for games already on the market.
