one question for bob or mike:
Is possible with 3Dmigoto use dynamic convergence or toggle a key for different values (like helixmod)??...for read the consoles for ex...
Thanks guys are awesome...
No, sorry, not at present. It's on my list of features to add, but right now we don't have any sort of automatic override.
If you are up for some experimentation, there is an OverrideSettings section that is intended to be like an aiming override. You could conceivably use this to tie it to a given key, like holding down a key while reading the terminals.
Not positive this works, but the section is headed with [OverrideSettings], and is worth a try.

I tried the overridesettings and dont work :(...doesn't matter just close an eye or CRLT-T :)
Hi guys.
I can't launch the 3D Vision. I haven't the green light on the pyramid... I've tried changing the profil, Colonial Marines, AC3, BF4, nothing. I've put the Helix patch as usually, no luck. Other games work though. Weird.
I'm I doing something wrong? Someone can help me?
I want to especially thank Mike_ar69 for this one, as Alien is one of my favorite sci-fi of all time.
Mike did the amazing job of working out the technique required to fix the shaders, all I've done is apply that working example to the other cases and try to be complete about it. The fix is incredible. The game is terrifying and intense, I whimper whenever the Alien grabs me.
BTW, I also have DK2, and played a little bit of Alien using it. The 3D Vision fix is better.
So in any case, Thanks Mike!
Yea, DK2 is completely unplayable due to a few things like trying to read the monitors or camera control being grabbed from you. But in between these issues, there is an amazing VR game that didn't get made :( Everybody who has a DK2 should at least play through the first level though (before you have to read any monitors). It is a truly amazing, I'm on a Ridley Scott set type experience :) It seems like it wouldn't take much to mod the game to fix it. Maybe a tweak that puts you in noclip when the camera control is being grabbed (like an out of body experience?)

Thanks for the fix, I played the game for few hours in 3D before I used my Oculus RIFT and its excellent, however its not even a splash in the water compared to VR, this game with the RIFT is just awesome.

I've got DK2 and played it. I found the VR variant to be feeble by comparison to 3D fix on projector. Everyone is different, but I found it to be too grainy, plus they disable all the effects (probably because they are broken in their 3D). Shadows they set to low, and are still broken in-game, so you get these distracting full-wall one-eye shadows.
For a game where I *really* want to be able to see into the distance to catch movement, the DK2 experience was not optimal.
The presence of being on the station was really great, but I really disagree about the overall experience.

As a DK2 owner, I have to say that even now my vote goes to stereoscopic 3D, on the basis of it's beautifully sharp and crisp graphics. Of course there are those who like depth in 3D, without the pop out effect, but that added aspect really does sell it for me. Having both the alien and the rest of the game's non-player characters emerge from out of the screen is still so immersive, which is why I believe that flat screen S3D still has a future. The corresponding shader fix for this game significantly increased the fear factor in my view. It's true that AI lends itself surprisingly well to VR, and that the overwhelming sense of presence is undeniable, but the resolution still isn't there yet. If the consumer version doubles the resolution, then maybe it's becoming too close to call. Even then, personally I find flat screen S3D a relaxing experience overall, whilst still being sufficiently immersive. If a player wants an intense experience, then VR unquestionably provides it in spades, but a prolonged intense experience can also be a draining one for some. The game itself though is still petrifying either way.

I really must thank you for this 3D fix, I've been waiting a long time for it.
Game looks amazing, except for computer screens, motion tracker, and anything that comes too close. Nvidia advanced controls (depth & convergence) hurt the 3d effect. Am i missing something ?

Yes, something is wrong. The convergence and separation keys work well in this game, and don't affect the image normally.
It sounds like your convergence is turned up too high. If you can't read the monitors, it's too high.
If you used the Alien:colonial marines profile, it should be at a reasonable level to start. If you don't use a profile, it's way too high to start.
