Bad Company 2 and 3D vision (not again) Foiled by Nvidia Drivers again
Well, guess what....?
If you are using an older 3d vision driver setup (like lets say CD 1.13 because that is what works with WOW). You won't be playing the new Battlefield game. I realllllllllyyyyy wish they would get this @#$%^ right. Can't use the newest 3D drivers either because I have a Samsung DLP.
Soooooooooooooooooo.....
I installed the newest regular drivers (not 3D vision) and the game works and looks awesome (with great FPS I might add).
Now I am officially no longer using my 3D vision setup.
I am tired of the WOW problem, tired of the Samsung DLP problem, and tired of Nvidia's lack of support.
How hard would it be to give us little patches once in a while.
I feel like I have wasted money. I really like 3D but if this is how it is going to be handled, I'm out.
Nvidia is about to lose a very good customer.
(for you Battlefield fans, I think I got the XBOX 360 controller to work with Xpadder and a few menu changes)

Since "Bad Company 2" is less than a week on North American shelves, why not allow some testing time to release patches/drivers to address the issues as they are listed by the public. There are configurations that extend beyond yours to accommodate. Be patient, Frostbyte 2 is a complicated engine in itself several adjustments may be needed from the software standpoint.

EDIT: People who use controllers on FPS for the PC...I never quite understood.

Have you taken the time to consider what the advantages might be?
In any case, I often use a gamepad when I play on my HDTV for the following reasons.
- Rumble support.
- I can sit in different and more comfortable positions, shifting and moving as I please.
- Analogue movement control.
- Simpler to move around then a keyboard and mouse, along with taking less space in the living room.
- My wife can actually cuddle up to me a lot more when I am just using a gamepad.
- I am actually quite good with a gamepad so gaming isn't frustrating with it.
- In many non-fps games, the gamepad actually gives me superior control.
That said, I don't play competitively, so I don't mind losing a bit of an edge in control, given the other advantages.

Simple: everyone is not you. We don't all think alike and enjoy the same things. Also rumble support, can play sitting on my couch with having a keyboard and mouse in my lap, gamepads have better ergonomics than m&kyb, etc.

That is exactly right!!!!!
As far as controllers, I have been using them since I was 5 (Atari 2600) and they create better immersion. I really don't care if I lose. On Xbox live I am great, on the PC, not so much.
As far as figuring out the Battlefield controller thing, Punk Buster has already banned me for using Xpadder. (Looks like I'll buy the 360 version).
For you mouse guys, I can't use my Battlefield stats to pick up a girl or get a better job.
