Crysis3 3D Vision - How to increase default maximum depth by tweaking 3D settings???
3 / 5
FYI, the latest Crysis 3 patch apparently unlocked a bunch of CVARS. I can not add some decent depth to the game using the tweaks that were used for Crysis 2. Check this page on how to do it.

You state you "can NOT add some decent depth", but did you mean "can NOW add some decent depth"? Otherwise I don't see the point of the link.
Yes, I meant "now". I fixed my typo in the post.
Thanks for the heads up. Followed the instructions and it works nicely. Only real issue is the halo effect, but a good improvement
Cheers
playing in 3D (vision) Surround.
well, haven't really played the game at all (TR2013, RE6 and even Hunted: The Demon's Forge [Helix/Eqzitara>3] are more appealing in 3D surround) just checked the new patch, still the same fake 3D that manages to turn high quality image in 2D into ugly 3D, with halo around guns and characters to boot.
then...Nvidia actually rate the game EXCELLENT!?!? now I don't think Nvidia's 3D vision rating is careless or random, they're actively trolling 3D vision customers such as myself~

Crysis 2/3, Clive Barker's jericho, A lord of the rings game[Can't remember], Deus Ex are games that are excellent off the top of my head that shouldnt be.
@teardropmina
Let me know if there any issues with Hunted. I played through game three times then helix made his script and I adapted it to Hunted so I basically did a quick run around. I really enjoyed it but... yea. Wasnt gonna happen.

Crysis 2's rating got bumped up to Excellent after the texture pack update. I asked ManualG about it and he said it was to reflect the increased visual quality or something!
So, not random, careless.
@Libertine, thanks!... i try to make the gun 3D, but when i do that (by gun focus option), the gun looks inside the screen over the trees and no matter what values puts its a mess, so i have to maintain 2D.
I think just outside of the gun settings there is a setting i think called "Depth Range Scaling" that i think will put the gun into full 3D. It might be big however (it was in Bioshock 2 and a few other games for me), but you can play with the profile's gun settings you mentioned to make it the correct size and also the "near fov" cvar setting of crysis 3 might help.

Thanks Libertine! i want to finish Bioshock Infinite and will spend more time with this game, the fake 3D on this game its worst that Crysis 2. The bad thing its the high performance hit with real 3D and Tridef. Also want to try those cvars settings.

so far it has been great; only that I wish I could adjust convergence:)
the game is fun no doubt; I actually went quite deep into the game when it was first released; with no proper 3D and triple screen support, I played @2560x1600 at that time. didn't finish the game, must be some 3D surround playable games took me over~

So I've been playing a "non-patchable" version, and the depth is rubbish. Does the added depth in the latest version make it significantly better/worth purchasing a patched version?
I know it's still sub-standard "fake" 3d, but I could deal with that if it had more depth.

Maybe a tiny bit but the more you increase it the more you screw up "the outer image". Like you know cycle frustum feature. You will need to use that.
3D solution gaming had a video up of Crysis 2 using it. Maybe you could ask him to put it up on new site. Id say it bumps it up from a D- to like a D imo. Not really a huge difference in my book. To a non-hardcore 3D user its probably different since it doesnt take performance or minimal. Like fake 3D wont give you much no matter how much you try to get it to give. Its same in left/right eye. Depth is just one side of the coin though, convergence is the other. Then increasing that is where all hell breaks loose [distortion around all objects near/exceeding 2D].
Maybe with a lot of tweaking you can get it manageable but if you are looking for a base line. Deus Ex/ RE5 convergence locked are way superior. Unless you are crazy about crysis I don't think its worth the effort.
