Dead Rising 2 Performance with enabled 3D Vision
  4 / 7
I am having the same problem.
When i have 3d enabled my fps falls to around 20fps in crowded areas. During these moments my cpu is at 30% load and my gpu is around 35% load. Then when i go into a less crowded area my fps goes to 60 and my gpu load is around 70-80percent. My cpu always stays around the 30% mark.
When i disable the 3d my fps are around 120fps at 70-80% gpu load. However when i enter a new area with a lot of zombies my fps will go down to around 50-60 fps at 30% gpu load. But then after around 2-3 seconds, it will go back up to around 120fps again at 80%gpu load.

My dead rising 2 run very bad, slow down´s when much zombies are in the area but only when 3D vision is enabled :( AA is off and AF is 8x, all other settings: high. @ 1680x1050

my pc:

intel core i5 - 750
GTX 480

anyone else with this problem?? Is one gtx 480 to low for this game??
try turn zombie texture to medium. if it's still slow, tone down the shadow quality and AF as well.
I'm finding it works well with the blur off when in-game (knocking zombies about etc). However, when it goes to cutscenes it breaks horribly! I seem to be getting a double image in the left eye. I have to squint out of my right eye only just to watch the scene in 2D.

Is anyone else getting this problem, and have you found a fix in the settings maybe?
cut scene is broken. we need new driver for this 3D-ready title.

I have no issues running @ max with 3d vision enabled at full graphics everything max'd

This game is very cpu dependant though and I've noticed some of you guys are lacking on the cpu side but have awesome gpu's.

I'm not running anything special:
AMD 955 BE
4 gigs of ddr3 @ 1600 7-7-6-18
2 9800 gtx+ ssc OC'd to 778
120hx monitor @ 1680 x 1050

it should be something else since I don't see i5 750 that much "lacking" compared to AMD 955 BE.

when you say 'running awesome' what exactly do you mean by awesome?

im STILL getting rubbish framerates...25-35 in busy areas with...
GTX 295
i7 860 2.8
4 gigs ddr3 1600
newest geforce drivers that supposedly enable a sli profile (260.89 /and brand new 260.93)

absolutely sick of bloody sli graphics cards... spending more time messing about trying to get games running than playing recently and not upgrading to a new card until the next wave come out (a 480 shouldn't be that much better than a 295 to warrant spending that much money)

Nearly all new games are running very poor....
medal of honor - single player 30-40 fps (for a below average looking unreal engine game... WTF!)
lost planet 2 - frame rate all over the place...20-80 fps (no matter what settings i put game on)

Good job i've got a 360 and ps3 to keep me sane

Hey, at least you guys can play the game. Everytime I play in 3D, when I quit the game I get a black screen that says "mode not supported" (from my tv, it must be altering the resolutions). If I play in 2D this doesn't happen, so it is obviously a 3D thing and yes I have the newest drivers. I dunno, all my other games work but this one (and I am up to 44 PC games so I am pretty sure the game is messed up) I will say the install was a nightmare. The only thing I can think of is it appears when I play in 2D it throws it into windows mode when I quit for like a half a second. Anyone else experiencing this or should I just give the game away (in 2D it is boring).
Thanks for help in advance

Man I wish i read this thread before buying. I installed the new drivers and saw Dead Rising 2 on the 3D ready list so I immediately bought it. First problem, my wireless controller wouldn't connect. Go that fixed thanks to the steam forums, http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/show...5120&page=2, (note that windows 7 64bit users need to use the older x360ce.App-2.0.2.62 version to get it to work)

So then I start up a game and instantly get horrid fps. The PC settings are lacking, and the HUD isn't great for 3D. Too many icons rendering at screen depth.

win7 64bit, GT470, and 3.0 dual core E8400. (I was thinking my CPU could be the problem, but now I am thinking its just a bad port)
