Samsung 3d vision monitor: Help and Advice Troubleshooting, probably in the wrong forum..again
Hey guys, I am new and unsure where to post or who to ask so please forgive my n00bness :).

I have the bundle samsung monitor and glasses, had them for a long time and I think the monitor is failing. I am unsure on the nature of the problem or how to proceed.

In short, the monitor (regardless of what im running) produces what appear to be lots of little dead pixels... 'interactive' dead pixels lol :S. They flicker and vary in colour.

I am assuming it is a reaction to what colour is currently being displayed.. as these interactive dead pixels effectively dissapear under pure white and are altered by a range of different colours.

graphics card temp is stable and the card is merely weeks old.

I have taken screenshots and had nothing on the output and also tried another monitor (standard DVI) and not had any problems. Tried both ports of my card, reseated it in two different pcie banks as well so I am certain it is not my card (gigabyte gtx 470 SOC)

has anyone ever experienced this? can I fix it or is it a warrenty job? could the dual link dvi cable cause this? :(

I was just getting in to crysis 2 >.< looks so amazing cranked to the max in 3d <3

[edit] running on a fresh install on a brand new SSD with the latest drivers (non beta)

Hi,
I am not sure..but it seems that your monitor has "dead pixels". Dead pixels tend to change the color abnormally. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it... Now from what I recall, you can RMA only if your monitor has more than 3 dead pixels or such (stupid policy if you ask me) ...not sure... best to ask the store from where you bought it...

The link of your dual link dvi cannot "make" only a few pixels play "dead". If a link is faulty usually the whole image gets weird...

Best regards.

Thanks for your imput :) I have been playing with it a little and I think it may even be a problem with either transparrency or complex combinations of colours. The dead pixels dissapear under basic colours accross the spectrum (tested with MS paint, oh yeeea)..

I will attempt to record the problem on video or at least take some stills later today when my video equipment gets back.. It's incredibly hard to explain, I have never seen something like this before (ex techie, worked in a shop, dealt with dead pixels etc.. saw things i'll never be able to un-see)
