You might be able to rip the soundtrack from the movie to your harddrive, maybe not if it's cinavia protected. Most 3D Blu-rays also have a 2D version, that you could watch as well as listen to :P

Listen??? I think he meant watch... The best way to describe your question would be: Can I watch a 3D bluray in 2D?

It does not appear that the Asus MX279H is is 3D monitor. https://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/MX279H/ Regardless, unless you have a rare 'autostereoscopic' (3D glasses free) monitor you'll need to have some sort of glasses to view 3D content - unless of course watching lots of 'mushy' and ghosting images appeals to you.

As far as I see, your monitor isn't even stereoscopic. http://uk.asus.com/Display/LCD_Monitors/MX279H/#overview Where do you get the idea that your monitor supports 3D Vision? Here's a list of 3D Vision monitors http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-displays.html The only way that you could watch a 3D Blu-ray without active/passive/anaglyph glasses, is with an autosterescopic monitor edit: lol, I got sidetracked while responding looking at a few of the newer autostereoscopic monitors
