Truely none of them impress me atm. Best to save your pennies and splurge on an i7 rig with whatever cards nvidia comes out with next.
Remember, spending money on old technology will only partly work. If you want premium graphics, it comes with a premium price tag. for HL2 im guessing your rig will do it fine, but dont know.
Point is dont waste money on old technology imho. If you cant afford it then save up untill you can?

Thanks for the reply man. I kinda made my mind up to buy the 470 until i read this now i am in two minds again. Funny thing is i built a HTPC for my mum and dad using the ASUS P7H55D-M EVO mobo, top notch ram etc and i am stuck using old tech. Nice!

I'm so over this waiting and waiting for Nvidia to answer question's on TV computability is it so hard to help your customers Nvidia?
P.S. I'm very angry at how Nvidia treat's it's customers like a bunch of blinde school children. That is not the way to do business but Yet you won't ewer money just remeber Nvidia you are not the only one to offer 3D TV software. ( IZ3D,Tri Def ) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!)

Dude, I know it's frustrating, but this is just like the release of a videogame.
If they release it, and it's not close enough to being ready, EVERYBODY would be griping about what a POS they put out.
The delays just tell me they are really trying to get this thing right , so EVERYBODY will be a happy camper.
Just one thing, NVIDIA, please don't change anything that will make me have to go out and buy even more new equipment!

If that is whats actually going on....then say that. Don't say, "It's coming out in September," or "I'll be back next week with news," and then not do what you said you were going to do. Even if you come back and say, "We need to push it back," or "I know I promised to news for you guys but its going to have to wait a few more weeks," I'm cool with that, just show the people who buy your products a tiny amount of respect.

Completely agree.
September is now history, still we wait for even an Update on its progress.
Not really man, I've read in this very thread over and over again and read about other folks saying that they were able to get 3DTV Play to work on a Samsung 3D LED TV and they didn't use any HDMI 1.4 receiver. I have also read about Panasonic 3DTV owners that were not able to enable 3DTV Play logo. And I can guarantee you that the mini HDMI in the GTX 400 series is indeed 1.4 version as it states in the instructions manual and also I have the mini HDMI plugged in to my TV and in the Nvidia control panel it says HDMI 1.4 bluray 3D. I guess you just assuming things, but that's not really the case, everyone has it's own theories about how they were able to make 3DTV Play work on their TV. Some used a HDMI 1.4 receiver, others simply connected the VGA straight to the TV, others only used the primary DVI slot. Believe me, I've read this thread a few times and everyone tells a differant tale.
It's a beta drivers and you got lucky making it work, not my case unfortunately.
I just hope Nvidia releases it by the end of this month as promissed.
I picked up one of the Samsung series 7 58" Plasmas yesterday, as they are going dirt cheap here in Oz, and when I hooked the set up to the same rig that ran my Series 7 55" LCD TV in 3D flawlessly, I got no 3D. 3DTV Play logo showed up, could see the spinning Nvidia logo in 3D no probs, but when I loaded a game, no 3D. So, LCD Sammys work fine with the beta's, but the plasmas currently do not. Hope that gives you some peace of mind :)
For the record, in my opinion, the Sammy LCD smokes the Plasma in terms of 3D. I was loosing WAY too much image quality when the 3D glasses were activated - Plasmas just don't seem bright enough. I ran tests on various 3D Blu Rays and Avatar 3D. The ghosting was also no better at all, contrary to what I've heard from people saying Plasmas have much less crosstalk. Plasma is going to my work and I'm keeping the "old" LCD. Just my experience for those interested :)

Cant believe i've checked back after a month and 3DPlay is still not released, I guess the positive is the longer it takes the the graphics cards/3DTV's drop in price, obviously not good for you poor suckers who bought the hardware pre-emting the release for it to be this delayed. With a working beta in place but no updates from nvidia could there be a fundamental problem they are trying to fix maybe with some of the new 3DTV's comming out??
I find it interesting as Ingmar posted that the beta is not working with the new Sammy Plasma's, concerning as I also have one a 7000 series. I'm still waiting on my bluray redemption so I was extremely happy to hear sony had relased the 3.5 driver to allow 3D BluRay playback on the PS3 so at least I can watch my MvA BD, and the 3D clips ive download work beautifully and have keept my interest untill 3DPlay comes out.
No point pleading, but an update shouldn't be too much to ask nVidia???? some of us need to budget for the hardware.. surely this is in your best interest?

Nice!

Thats not what is going on though....

Completely agree.
September is now history, still we wait for even an Update on its progress.
Poor effort Nvidia
