Its very strange.

Hi Guys, I have read through the whole thread. I tried to make a custom EDID for my LG 55uf8500 but the display kept flashing on and off. Would anyone be willing to help me?https://www.dropbox.com/s/2cwd1o82vzbb6pe/lg%2055uh8500.bin?dl=0 Thanks

boliviabob - did you try using joker18's EDID, rather than creating a custom EDID? His great EDID mod has worked well with 3 different 4K LG models I have used (most recent is 55EF9500 OLED).

Hi ! I tried yesterday very quickly but it wasn't successful. LG-65UC970V & GTX1080 * disabled W10 digital signature * updated edid (Acer HR274H 3D Monitor EDID Override) There is no signal after boot, if I unplug/re-plug hdmi-cable, I get a picture but it was all wrong, maybe full hd but it wasn't correct + there isn't any other resolution options. It's clear that I have forgot something or made mistake so i'll try this evening with better time. After my try I read user joker18 has same model that I have and he made his own edid-file for his tv, so I have to try that. Are there any more to do than edid-file update & activate 3d stereoscopic from NVDIA-panel ? THX !

Hate to keep asking questions but... Has anyone noticed that their GPU usage is low in 4K 3D? On resident evil 6 my GPUs hover around 50% usage and I get 20-40fps in 3840x2160 3D. Maybe it's just that game. At 3840x1440 it's constant 60fps. PS: I figured out my 3D issue, I bought a used tv with a universal remote. I thought the remote app on my phone was official but turns out a different app was needed to access 3D options. Woops.

Thx whyme466, I didn't noticed that topic, good reading ! Today I updated joker18 modified EDID-file. Update went well and nvidia cp regonized monitor right. BUT I can't use 3840x2160 desktop resolution :( I did 3840x2160 30Hz interlaced custom resolution what works but If I try to make 60Hz progressive, test mode won't work. I have high speed hdmi-cable, 4K 60Hz games works just fine. Tried all hdmi-inputs, what I do wrong ? Edit. THX lohan, I will try that when I home ..

Using Win10 you need to disable Anti-Aliasing when running the test application.

I finally made it work with my LG-65UC970V & GTX1080 and joker18 EDID-file. I don't know why it didn't work earlier, this time I first updated EDID with Zalman 3D Monitor EDID Override, then with joker18 and suddenly there was all resolutions visible, didn't have to make any customize resolution with NVIDIA CP. I have only tested with one game so far, Rise Of The Tomb Raider and results was awful :( Game internal benchmarks (Motion Blur & Pure Hair OFF): 29fps NVIDIA 3D Vision, fps lacking 46fps using SBS from game & tv, fps VERY SMOOTH Also picture was very much brighter when using SBS (I played game 100% using SBS in last 3 weeks and experience then was SUPERB !). I'll try later with other games & different settings (depth was only 15%), Batman Arkham Asylum, Trine 2 I have played FIFA13 few years ago with BenQ 24'' XL2411T NVIDIA 3D Surround and that was very playable, I have to try this too.
29fps NVIDIA 3D Vision, fps lacking 46fps using SBS from game & tv, fps VERY SMOOTH
That makes sense... 3D Vision Render FULL Width&Height Frames will SBS will render Width/2 x Height Resolution. So the CUT in half of the Width will give you that "boost" in performance but lower quality of the image. Same goes for TOP/UNDER but there you lose half the Height of the resolution. Just to clarify things:)

I need second GPU, oh wait, I can't afford it :) My plan is that I will play through all Batman games & Tomb Raider 2013 and those are luckily old games. When I have played those, there is next GPU on the market ;)

helifax - I was not aware that any game/tool used 2:1 (non-square) render pixels to get the SBS/TAB performance you describe. Every game providing native 3D, or support environment like 3Dmigoto or Ignition, that I am aware of treat SBS and TAB (and its related format, line-interlaced) only as an output format, and do NOT change render pixels to improve efficiency/image quality. It would be great if 3Dmigoto could somehow embrace this advanced rendering approach... vision73 - I have cautioned potential EDID users about the large performance needs for 4K 3D in recent games like Mankind Divided, Dark Souls 3, and Witcher 3. I recently migrated to (hybrid-cooled) Pascal Titan X because of these emerging game requirements (it supports great super sampling in Vive and Rift games like Damaged Core and The Assembly, also)...

If you are having FPS issues, try setting a custom ultrawide resolution like 3840x1600 or 3440x1440. It still looks great and is easier on your graphics card :) You'll have to turn off scaling for it to work properly in some games.

I decided to upgrade to a LG 60UH8500 4K 3D display. My 49 incher worked fine but this new display is giving me ghosting issues. Did anyone ever resolve these? If I play Trine 3 in top bottom 3D, I have almost 0 ghosting. When I try 3D vision with EDID override the ghosting is quite a bit greater. Is there a solution for this? I even tried creating my own EDID to no avail.
