Can you give me more details?
- GPU make/model?
- Display make/model?
Well, it's in my sig, but sure:

PNY XLR8 GTX570

Asus 120hz LCD (VG236)

Hopefully I can figure out why these games refuse to launch at 120hz at my native res of 1920x1080, either that or I hope other people are having the same problem and it's not just a setting messed up on my end!

Just to confirm that with 2 x Zotac Nvidia 580's in SLI EVE does not work, the screen now activates the shutter glasses but the game doesnt render the 2nd image so there is absolutely no effect whatsoever.

All other games appear to be fine though

To get bad company 2 to work, I had to create a custom resolution in the nvidia control panel. This custom resolution caused massive ghosting in bad company 2 when S3d was active. This was under the beta drivers at the time. Still cant get eve to work.

Just tested:
Crysis 1 DX10
BFBC2

Tried both while the force 120hz game launch option was selected from the stereoscopic setting panel, and while it was unchecked as well. Same outcome.

They still say "attempt to run stereoscopic in non-stereoscopic mode"

As a side-note, BFBC2 still lists refresh rates as 109hz, 119hz, etc.
Ok this helps us a bit more. Can you try this? Please launch the game into a 3D mode and then wait for the message to appear. When it appears open up your monitors on screen menus. There you can find an on screen display that will tell you what refresh rate the monitors are running at. Can you do that and tell us what it says and post a picture?

In post #10 in this thread I already stated that they launch at 60hz, but yes I will include a picture

Please remind the driver team that in the games that give me this problem (*excluding bfbc2) , simply selecting a lower resolution (ANY lower resolution) from the game's menu will result in 120hz and therefore allow Stereoscopic mode to run fine

*bfbc2: I believe this to be a separate issue, one that stems from the game only allowing 99hz, 109hz, and 119hz from the menu

Just out of curiosity, has everyone tried both DVI ports on the graphics card? Do anyone have an accessory monitor attached to their system? If you have a spare dual-link DVI cable, any chance you can try swapping the DVI cables? Have you all checked the System Information panel in the NVIDIA Control Panel to make sure all of the NVIDIA driver components updated correctly.

We can't fix your bug if we can't reproduce it. Please provide as much details as possible including specs, steps to reproduce, graphics settings used, etc..

I do have a second monitor running at 1080@60hz, but like I stated already, over half of my other games run just fine in Stereoscopic 3D. So that shows that the physical setup is fine since those games are able to run 120hz perfectly. As for the actual DVI-D cable, I'm using the one that was included with the Asus 3D monitor - do you still recommend changing ports or swapping the DVI-D cable for a different one knowing that half the games run perfectly with it?

Thanks to everyone who's posting in this thread, trying to improve 3D Vision for everyone!

ok I reinstalled official drivers using 3d vision cd download from nvidia site (recent download).
Now, whenever I press ctrl + t it activates stereoscopic mode on both my alienware monitor and my standard non-3d monitor.
It doesnt matter if Im in game or not. I didnt uninstall old beta drivers first, I figured the nvidia tool would have done that.
Just thought I should mention it. Kinda an interesting 'bug'

Hi

For all of the problems you are having with the recent driver, are you connected to two displays at the same time again?

What do you mean it's "activating" on the second monitor? How do you know? Are you spanning games across two monitors? If no 3D objects are on the screen, how can you tell stereo mode is active? (I say this because the second monitor should only be displaying Windows desktop, not any part of your game [unless it's the rare game that supports multimon])

Andrew: Yes, I am always connected to 2 monitors
pcchip: I know stereoscopic 3d is activating on both because both monitors show the box that says "this application is not rated by NVIDIA Corp." in green.

It doesnt matter what application is running. I open firefox, and press ctrl+t to open a new tab and it activates, on both monitors, and remains even when I close whatever application is running. Also, the green light on the transmitter activates. Please keep in mind I am not running beta drivers with this. This is installing the drivers off the latest download of the 3d vision cd, and letting the installer install/clean up the drivers.

Thanks now just a few follow-up questions:

- If you disable the second 2D monitor, do your games work properly?

- What is the make and model of your second monitor?

- When you are running with both monitors enabled, is the 3D monitor set as the primary display?

- Are you doing any multi-display setting changes before you see this message? For instance, are you running with the 2D set to primary before you play the 3D games, and then you switch the primary to the 3D display and then launch your games. Or is the 3D monitor always set to the primary display?
