Version 1.69 released

Change notes:

 • New: VERY IMPORTANT!!! PLEASE READ!!! Added an info that Nvidia dropped 3D Vision support (future graphics drivers don't support stereo 3D any more). A dialog window informing users about this and what to do is automatically shown when starting 3D Fix Manager

 • New: Added graphics driver version check for showing a warning dialog if trying to use 3D Vision with an unsupported driver version

 • Changed: "0x10000102" is now the default value for unlocking CM via 3dmigoto. It seems to have a higher chance to work in current games than "0x10000002"

 • Changed: When updating fix profiles via automatic update the setting "Install dir name" is overwritten at any case now

 • Bugfix: When both 32 bit and 64 version of 3dmigoto where installed for a game updating the wrapper did not work properly (32 bit files were copied to the 64 bit directory of the game)

 • Bugfix: Setting a custom game root path in fix profile did not work if several copies of a game were installed in different directories

 • Bugfix: Disabling 3D overlay was broken for the installer version of 3DFM. The portable zip version was not affected by this

[s]Can we get a simplied version of adding a profile? The current version is a clusterfuck of lots of options that always tell me that the game is not installed (which obviously is, since I can pick the exe filename ^_^). Way to many options there... and all I want is a SIMPLE ADD PROFILE with this exe option ^_^. Spent 40 minutes on this.. same useless result... (And no, my game is not on STEAM)[/s] OK, nvm... I realised I had to add my folder in the search path ^_^ (Pardon my ignorance ^_^)

Hi Helifax, Hehe no problem. Settings in the fix profile got indeed pretty extensive. Two years ago in version 1.0 there were approximately only 10 settings xD. To create a new profile just fill in the name of the game and press button "Search Steam DB". Then all required data should be automatically written into the profile like game exe name, Steam App ID and so on. However I completely forgot to update the DB where the data is taken from. Last time I ran the script for fetching data from Steam DB was on Nov 2018 (oops). I just started that script today... it needs a few hours to iterate through every available game in Steam shop (approximately 70 000 games) and extract that data to my DB. For forcing a particular game to be detected you must set the "Custom Root / Game Path" and the "Game Exe" if not already set. That should do the trick. But adding the search paths is also a perfect solution!

Unacceptable to make "opensourcerers" do their dirty work. Its now so obvious, they officially announced the ABANDONMENT.

i totally agree, Helixmod should be paid by Nvidia for years for their huge work. i think Helixmod helped a lot to sell 3DVision2 kits. Nvidia is lucky (and us too) with this passionate and talented team

I'm totally confused. Geforce Experience shows me an exclamation mark on its icon saying that a new driver is available. But if I open Geforce Experience it says I'm on the latest version?!

hello Paul, yes it's confusing. it's because Nvidia proposes 2 variants of its drivers. game ready & creator release. https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/geforce-419-67-whql-crd-driver-download.html (commentaries to get more infos) for example, my Geforce experience wants to update to the previous version, so strange ! :)

My monitor is 3d and gsync capable, and I don't know if it is possible to activate gsync automkatically when using "Play 2D". I have some games that I have to play in 2D, and always I use 2D is using gsync. Ok, I found how to do that, and it is a very interesting feature of the application, it activates g-sync automatically and "remove" temporally the fix of the game, and later I can play in 3D again just clicking on "Play 3D" button.

Concerning G-Sync it's rather the default behaviour of the Nvidia driver. Just look what happens when you disable "Stereoscopic 3D" in Nvidia Control Panel manually: normally G-Sync should be automatically reactivated. However I noticed that this is sometimes buggy - and G-Sync won't come back automatically. If you ever have this problem you can force reactivation by clicking on "Nvidia 3D Settings" tab. Look at the section "Optimize global driver profile for 2D mode". There you can set the "Monitor technology" to G-Sync and "G-Sync mode" to one of the offered options. When doing so you can be pretty sure that G-Sync will always come back when pressing Play 2D button ;). Probably that's the feature you already found.

Sometimes, hitting "restore defaults" several times in the 3D setup panel with "enable stereoscopic 3D" unchecked will correct things if something is hanging up.

hello Paul ! do you plan to add an automatic process on 3DFix manager in order to give an easy means to use 3DVision drivers from the last 3DVision supported 419.35-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql. and the possibility to use also Nvidia last drivers. i was thinking about a choice in 3Dfix manager options : - Use 419.35 package last 3DVision drivers. - Use very last drivers from Nvidia (no 3DVision support) it's a bit difficult i think. Atm, i've always 419.35 installed, but i'm going to be forced to use the very last Nvidia drivers in order to be fine with VR games. what a mess :( it's a bit boring to install/uninstall Nvidia drivers in order to play 3D Games and install/uninstall "old drivers" in order to use the very last release for non 3D & VR games. i've high hopes on you to find the most efficient way to find a solution.

That would be fairly easy if everyone was using Windows 10 64 bit with a Desktop. But the drivers are different for laptops. Windows 7/8/8.1 are the same, but are different than W10 drivers. Legacy version numbers for the last 9 are... 425.31 419.67 419.35 419.17 418.91 418.81 417.71 417.35 417.22 Plus I'd imagine that there might be some hot fix versions as well? I do not know if Nvidia goes back and merges hot fixes into a driver that's already released. It might mess up the WHQL certification, if they do.
