3d doesn't work at all
Hi folks, I'm quite new to 3D gaming and to this forum as well. I purchased a pc with the geforce gtx 760 and learned afterwards that I can play games in 3D. But here's the thing: actually I can't. I bought the Philips 278g4dhsd monitor wich came with 3D-glasses and I actually can see the test image when i set up stereoscopic 3D in the nvidia control panel. So it should work just fine right? But here's what happened: First I tried to play Mafia 2 in 3D, but there's not even an ingame option to switch to 3D. So i can't even activate 3D with this game Then I tried it with Tomb Raider 2013. In the Options you can switch to 3D and so I did. But just when I leave the graphics setting of the game 3D is turned off for some reason. The same thing happens when I select 3D in the pre game menu. A 3D sign appears in the upper left corner of the screen, which is probably a monitor thing, but then nothing. So am I missing something? What can I do to make it work? Some suggestions? Thanks

That monitor is not supported by Nvidia 3d Vision. 3DTV Play software will need to be installed/purchased in order to use 3D on that display.

Yep, it's weird but (3D Vision != 3D TV Play). Since your TV came with glasses, you want 3D TV Play. Try the 14 day trial: http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-14day-trial.html That might not work either, because it's a monitor not a TV anyway. You might have to go the route of EDID override.

Well I don't know if it's not supported. I can actually see the 3D test image. So it seems to work. Here (http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-overview.html) I can choose to "activate 3DTV Play on [my] 3D Vision PC". Since I have a 3D Vision PC I tried to do that, but that's only the link to the latest driver that I'd have to download. The logial conclusion would be that 3D TV Play is, as you said bo3b, 3D Vision or at least part of it. So I already have 3D TV Play, don't I? And here's a new thing. I wanted to play Mafia 2 again today. But suddenly there is this disturbingly huge "PHYSX > GPU"-sign in the upper right corner. And I don't know how to turn that off.
