Nvidia 3D Vision Video Player - not working anymore after windows update - refresh rate is resetted ...
  2 / 2
So I installed the latest NVidia driver freshly (I choosed "new installation"), activated "Stereoskopic 3D" and successfully gone through the setup. Then I checked the resolution and the refresh rate. It was set to "1920 x 1080 @ 144 Hz". But as soon as I started the NVIDIA 3D VISION VIDEO PLAYER and loaded a video, it changes back to 60 Hz and there is no 3D Effect. Only my PC monitor is plugged in. So I finally found the bug ... the refresh rate is set back to 60 Hz if the 3D Vision Player is open. I hope there will be a solution for this. NOTE: I recently upgraded to a GTX 1070.

You might have to report this to the Stereoscopic Player developer, Nvidia licenses this from them. http://3dtv.at/Index_en.aspx Otherwise, post an official bug report. And in both cases, give pertinent information, such as OS, CPU, GPU, Driver Version, Display Model, etc.... Plus if you are using 3RD apps/mods/codecs with it like K-Lite or SVP, confirm that they are not the problem. It's the same thing. Nvidia "does not" make the stereoplayer that they offer. They license it. As in Nvidia pays/paid Peter Wimmer money to offer his player to their customers and call it their own. This is how we used to update it, before Nvidia "finally" updated their version that was offered https://3dvision-blog.com/8619-how-to-always-keep-your-nvidia-3d-vision-video-player-up-to-date/
I submitted a bug report now, I hope they will solve it.
With who? BTW, did you try an older driver or two to see if it was possibly a driver regression issue? Or try a different player version with the current driver you are using? It could also be a W10/Microsoft induced problem. Hopefully others on the forum with W10 will chime in. Also, you should mention what build you are on.

The original 3dtv.at version still runs flawless. Tested on Win10 v.1809, Geforce Drivers 419.35 and version 2.5 of both video players. The Nvidia version is a reduced version where several other features like software pageflipping or support for Oculus is missing. Its features are reduced for only supporting 3D Vision but this is obviously not working currently. Instead of wasting a lot of time and hoping for Nvidia or 3dtv.at to fix this bug I would just buy Cyberlink Power DVD 18 Ultimate. It's much more user friendly and does not only support VR, 3D Vision and 3D video streaming from youtube but also HDR and HDR simulation. Best allrounder currently on the market.

You should both file a support ticket on this, perhaps Nvidia can correct their current download and replace it with the newer version if their license allows it. They did say that their player would remain available for awhile, so the least they can do is update it.
