Custom 3D Vision Surround on single screen via customized resolution not working anymore?
We talked about this topic about a year ago and I successfully tested it myself on my 4K 65" OLED (test done with Mortal Kombat X). Now that Injustice 2 is out and has native ultra-widescreen support I just wanted to test it in 3D Vision surround using a customized 3840x720 resolution. So I set the custom resolution and started the game. Somehow when the game launches it switches automatically to the native resolution of 3840x2160. Also going into options I can't choose my custom resolution. I then fired up Mortal Kombat X again (because with this game it worked without problems last year) but again the game switches the resolution with the native one as soon as the game launches. When I quit the game I am back at the desktop with my customized resolution. Could it be customized 3D Vision Surround on single-screen is not longer possible or am I doing something wrong? I am on driver 388.31 (current one)

Have to take that back a little but now it's even more confusing. I finally found my custom resolution in the game's options (Mortal Kombat X and Injustice 2). But now it gets even more weird: when I choose my custom resolution (3840x720) the game is displayed in what looks exactly like 1280x2160. So horizontally only one third of the display is occupied by the image in the center of the display while the vertical space is fully displayed. I have absolutely no idea what's going on here.....

In the scaling settings of the Nvidia Control Panel, did you check the checkbox that says "disable scaling done by the game" or something like that? Some games do their own weird scaling. For example, Deus Ex MD was still 16:9 at 2560x1080, and Metro Last Light Redux too.

Indeed I hadn't checked this checkbox. Unfortunately when I did it didn't bring any success. Now my custom resolution (3840x720) is displayed in-game (Mortal Kombat X/Injustice 2) like 1280x720. So I get a small image in the middle of my screen instead of the expected 3840x720 "image-strip".

Try this... In the NVCP choose Change Resolution > Customize > Create Custom Resolution As soon as it opens, change the "Timing" to manual Now enter the desired resolution in the top boxes for Horizontal pixels and Vertical lines, then run the test This will give you the horizontal strip, but as I recall, you need to run the game in a window sometimes or perhaps every time for it to work.

Thanks, D-Man but I have no problems to get the desired custom resolution to work in Windows. The problem only arises when the game is running. Before launching the game or as soon as I quit the game I get the desired 3840x720 resolution.
