Indeed, the game is now running fine.
It seems that our constant "remembering" to the developers of their duty bore its fruits, in the end.

My bad guys, convergence is locked, but nevertheless the game looks great and one could always revert to broken shadows and unlocked convergence with the process hack. Guess rendering the shadows properly actually does require some performance sacrifice, since the option with the hack provides a considerably higher fps(just check out the tavern in Vergen if you don't believe me). I do however the fixed shadows gameplay :)
I would also like to express my gratitude to Nvidia and CDP in sorting the matter, hopefully we also see some performance increase in the future :)

I renamed my .exe just to load the game without a 3D Vision profile to see if convergence would be unlocked.

Nope.

Shadows were still correct though - I didn't expect that.
So it appears that the convergence lock isn't in NVIDIA's profile for the game, but in the game itself.
Shame. I get very little pop-out. Not much depth either. Not compared to Avatar or Alice anyway.
Still, it is in 3D finally. Support for convergence has been pretty spotty in a lot of games - but I expected it in a 3D vision ready title.

Feature request for CDPR ...

Try the process hack, it unlocks convergence and increases performance at the cost of broken shadows.

Looks great - well done fixing the bugs. I played Roches path to the end as an alchemist with botched shadows. Im going to try Iorveths path now as a mage.

Hi All

Just to let you know I do read this thread everyday.

I am glad that 3D Vision is now working for everyone involved as we worked a lot with the developer to try to get this patch out quickly.

With regard to locked convergence, that was not expected and we are contact with the developer to find out more details.

I started playing again last night a long hiatus waiting for the patches. I agree the game looks and plays great now with SLI 3DVision, so thanks to everyone who helped get it right.

The convergence lock is not a big deal for me, but I certainly wouldn't object to having the option to tweak it.

I DO worry that the amount of extra work and headaches supporting 3D Vision seems to require, will put off more and more developers from even attempting it. Is it actually getting easier or harder to get it right with the latest drivers and DX iterations? I guess that's probably a question for another thread, or something that's been answered before (I'm new).

Wow, that's bull eye. I think I'm one of the more 3D hardcores. I got the game and even with CDPR patch 3.5 I'm still not willing to play until its convergence is unlocked.

Also, how about that long time wanted feature of preset convergences?

Could you elaborate?

You put those commands in your user.ini file in your documents folder under the viewport section, where your resolution is.

ConvergenceClose=0
ConvergenceCutscene=2
ConvergenceInside=3
ConvergenceOutside=3

Default convergence for inside and outside appears to be 2 and raising those numbers will increase the convergence for more popout. Obviously there is some trial and error with reloading the game to see how it looks and getting it to your preference.

Oh, you can also carry this out to the tenth digit also, like 2.5 for instance to find your sweet spot.

Awesome! I can confirm it really work in 3D now and it playable!! At some point I lost faith in actually seing this game in 3D vision. Very nice! Thank you nVidia & CDPROJECT for doing it (even if it took 2 months )

Just in time for me to start chapter 3. Playing this game with 3d vision really brings out the amazing graphical detail of this game. Seeing a guard standing behind a fire shimmering in the heat haze with a tent flapping in the breeze behind him is just amazing. Love it. Frame rate is decent also.
