Hi, I have a simple question which hopefully has a simple answer... I have a Sony KDL40LX903 3D Bravia and my PC has a GTX280 GPU running latest drivers. The 3D test, from the nVidia control panel shows the nVidia logo in glorious 3D however no games are actually working, not Starcraft 2 not World of Warcraft either. I do not actually have the 3D Vision Kit (Big green button) My question, Do I need it? If not what am I doing wrong?

Like me, all you need is for Nvidia to get off there butt and release the stand alone software. Or you can buy 3D vision and play it now (beta)

If you want to go the nvidia route you require the following; (to do what you want you need the nvidia nvision ir immitter usb device)

Long story short, unless you have the 3d nvision kit with the dongle ir immitter, you will not be able to get 3d gaming even with the "unsupported 3d tv inf hack". I have the dongle myself and was able to use the unsupported 3d tv inf hack to get the 3d gaming working. I was in the exact situation you were with being able to do the demo but no games would work. The dongle is just used to turn on the feature, it is not used for the 3d expierence (ie; ir signals). [/b]
3DTV Play is coming some day, and it will remove the needed 3d nvision kit for gaming, however you will need a "supported" tv to get the feature available. This is stupid considering there are soo many tvs out there and you have to wait for nvidia to update. Not to mention that if you run your hdmi through a home theater reciever then they have to support home theater recivers also. I don't think they have accounted for this. The computer will never see the EDID information of the tv, but rather the home theater system. AKA my tv is a "ONYKO" while its really a Sony, so a inf hack is require[b]d.
So basically go with the IZ3D solution for somewhat bugging gaming expierence I have heard. [/b]
