pblnrao,

From my understanding, Nvidia's stereo player is full-screen only app. As soon as you window it, the stereo is gone. I'm sorry to say that's there's no way to do both - windowed Maya and windowed stereo player - at the moment.

Biglars and pblnrao, I'm now working on FX 3700 with Win7.

The driver of video card is 186.30 and the driver of 3D Vision is 186.18 (not CD, but driver only). However, after the driver of video card was installed, there was a warning in installing 3D Vision card. It said that, the driver version of video is newer than the 3D Vision driver. Continuing installation and choosing 'Yes' when replacing file was needed. When the configuration wizard started, the emmiter and the LCD can't be detected. Did you have such problem in your installation and how to solve it? If you can provide me some support, that will be great!

Tao,

After installing the XP Quadro display driver, I unzipped that same 3D Vision only driver to its own folder to view all the files separately. I then right-clicked on both the nvstereo.inf and nvstusb.inf files and selected "install". You may see these drivers install a few other files necessary, it happens quickly. I also right-clicked the two .reg files (can't remember their names offhand) and selected "Merge" to add them to the registry. That's it. After that, I rebooted and the emitter was detected. You may need to play around with a few settings in the "3D Settings" portion of the Nvidia Control Panel to get your app working. I had everything off but page flipping (use block transfer) and stereo enable. I also selected 'single display' and use the generic active display (nvidia emitter). You may need to turn a few other things on of off as well. Do a little experimentation and you should hit on the right combination. Good luck!

Tao,

I too faced the same problem, for that i just uninstalled all the FX 3700 drivers and 3d Vision drivers and players(Uninstall All related to card and 3d vision). Reboot the system and install "NVIDIA_3D_Vision_v186.18_driver" only and its working fine for me....... I did not installed any FX 3700 driver there after.

If u are installing in XP follow Biglar suggestion how to install 3D vision kit as i am using Vista........
unzip 3D Vision only driver to its own folder to view all the files separately. Then right-clicked on both the nvstereo.inf and nvstusb.inf files and selected "install"

As BigLar said, u need to adjust the 3D settings in NVIDIA Control Panel for applications to work......

Biglars and pblnrao,

Thanks a lot for the support!

Today I downloaded the 186.18 quadro driver and used it to avoid the version confilict with 3D Vision driver. I switched the OS to Vista 32, installed video card driver and 3D Vision driver, configuring my app as your mentioned in previous threads. Everythings seems fine, and MOE, the windowed application for molecular graphics, can show pretty stereo graphics !!! I'm feeling very happy now. I will give a detailed description of my installation in another thread.

As a newbie, I learnt a lot from your discussion. Thank you guys again:)

Happy to help! As a perpetual noob, I learn things daily on this site and others like it. I discovered Peter Wimmer's Stereoscopic Player at 3Dtv that displays windowed or full-screen stereo movies in XP (well know on this forum, I also just discovered). Very nice app and an excellent, quick test to make sure you've got things configured properly with your Quadro card.

Andrew,

This is a weird statement, as the glasses drivers are independant on gfx drivers, especially when using external sync signal.. I have the same problem as SimWright with my 3400, but I have tried several ways of solving it and it appears to be the shutting time of the glasses or monitor response is way to slow. Maybe the graphics driver need to instruct the monitor to go into some kind of fast response mode?

I have tried converting nvidia clone mode (to an active stereo signal with "nView Clone mode (with NVIDIA IR Emitter using external DIN signal), and it looks the same as when using direct active stereo.

Using my test equipment here to display a white image on one eye and a black on the other, I can see the separation is really bad. I only get a small strip (maybe 1/5th of the bottom of the screen) with ok separation, and an even smaller part with GOOD separation. The rest is fading black/white or vice versa.

Maybe Andrew can confirm that the monitor is switched into a special mode through the DDC bus somehow? In any case it shouldn't be a GPU issue...?

Hi all

I have installed 190.38 drivers on XP64 + 190.38 3d vision beta drivers forcing the inf installation. The ir emitter is recognized.
I have the 2223 Samsung monitor connected to a Quadro FX4600.

I'm not able to activate any 3d application in a window. For example Stereoscopic 3d player plays only 2d animations.

Do you think is possible to get work some 3d application? Google Earth should work...but nothing happens...no 3d effect.

Cheers

p.s
I have a Quadro CX too and Vista 64...obviously on this system 3d vision works.

Gabriele,
I have installed the quadro xp driver 190.38 last week,it works fine .
I unistalled the quadro xp driver 186.18,then just intalled the new quadro xp driver 190.38,
did the usual setup and all my opengl stereo application worked fine.
I did not have to install the 190.38 3d vision driver ,maybe it is included in the graphic card driver.
