I had to sound like a pessimist. But I think NVIDIA 3D Vision is dieing.
The united states no longer leads the world in technology. The public are just a bunch of mindless, ignorant 2D freak heads. The USA's golden age is OVER. It's DONE! If anything the best 3D technology will probably emerge from Japan or China.

As its been said many times on this thread, Crysis 2 uses its own built in SSRS engine for rendering 3D. The current demo that is available does not require a profile for the game to work with 3D Vision or 3DTV Play.
I cannot comment on the final build of the game (since I don't know) if it will allow for SSRD or try dual camera rendering.
Overall though, what do you guys think of the 3D in Crysis 2 multiplayer demo?

dissapoint me.
This pixelshader cut paste job should be used in flight simulators maybe, even then in conjunction with real stereo rendering for close objects.
Just like they can balance the load between 2 different anti aliasing methods (different AA for different distance), they could give us something like that for stereo.
I dont think this redrawing is any good for a fast paced action game.

Well I am hoping for a normal 3D render type in the final release. The 3D in the demo isn't bad but it's no where near as good as we PC gamers have seen in other FPS like Metro 2033 or Bulletstorm. I prefer maximum depth and the demo doesn't have a good sense of that but maybe I am just a 3D snob.
*Edit* Just got done playing a while longer and the 3D technique grew on me. I still think the usual dual frame method would look better but I admit this looked better than I expected.

What do you mean "what do you guys think of the 3D"? 3D Vision is broken as you well know. Remember the 'no checkerboard mode' bug in 3D Vision you promised to fix 6 weeks ago? Until you decide to fix it, no 3D in Crysis2 or any other game.

Hi
Im not sure what you mean by its broken. I have commented that checkerboard mode is coming, but it takes time for us to implement it.
You can still use Crysis 2 with 3D Vision or 3DTV Play.

Is it possible to play a level wherer I'm the only person in the level so I can have a good look around?

Thanks Andrew. Btw. I keep getting the red error message about attempting to run in non stereoscopic display mode even though I've selected 1280x720. Any ideas what that is and how to solve it.
