Grim Dawn - ARPG - Fantastic !
  5 / 5
In a few weeks the Steam summer sales will start, so I think you'll find it a little cheaper. I almost finished the base game, so I plan to buy the extensions then. In the meantime, I fired up old Diablo 3 a few days ago and I could not stop playing since. Beyond the shallow gameplay, this game is simply a showcase of huge impact in OLED 4K 3D Vision locked at 60fps. Just buttery smoothness, toyification awesomeness, with spells and monsters flying around in an arcade frenzy, the likes of which is not seen nowadays. Which is quite sad, by the way ... Grim Dawn is fun to explore, and the monsters/visuals are quite inspired, but it's not something to just play blindly. I had to look up a build immediately, after I died like 30 times at the first boss. One skill versus another, one constelation versus another, etc, makes too much of a difference, you cannot simply pick it up and dick around while looking for treasure :-) While in Diablo, I just created a Witch Doctor as a goof (called it Witch Doctor "Strange" for lolz) and I'm almost through Act 5 with no care in the world, just pure unadulterated stupid fun. And I thought I'd just try it for 5 minutes to see if the 3D still works.

Steam sales don't interest me in this case, because I have the game (plus expansions) on GOG. Already bought and updating, so I can't go back even if I wanted to :). Expect the fix update this week.

Yesterday I refixed the mouse cursor and the HUD, and also a new 2D bloom problem (fixed with different profile settings). The problem with the mouse was a conflict with the iniparams I use, which are changed inside the mouse shader. I found one or two new issues in the DLC, so wait for a few days.

Fix updated: https://helixmod.blogspot.com/2017/10/grim-dawn.html Now it's easier to use. I don't even have to touch my hotkeys at all to play normally. More dynamic HUD and mouse, because they now change with the camera zoom level automatically. I have disabled and changed some hotkeys (the previous numpad hotkeys are now unnecessary). Also, the folder structure of the fix makes it work in both 32 and 64 bits version. You have to unzip it in the root folder, not directly in "x64".

The 1.1.3.0 update changed the shader hashes again. The fix needs an update once again. I'll inform you here and in the blog post when it's done. It may take a few days because I have to finish a fix for a different game.

Fix updated for the 1.1.3.0A version. If it breaks again, at least I know that I can fix it again in a few minutes.
