no it did not have any affect. i installed afterburner and checked my frames. solid 75-85 frames/s but horribble chogging and eye synch error. even left or right eye separetly is choppy mess. I did not try to update drivers yet.

Whatever you guys are having it is related to your machines. Something is also hooking the drivers like an overlay or ShadowPlay/Share/GFE or I don't know. Also, I STATED BEFORE MSI is NOT showing the actual FPS... but a fake one...
Just out of curiosity, what resolution and specs do you have?
You are on your own. Sorry, never experienced anything like this nor did the others, except you and the other guy.
I know it's easy to blame the wrapper or the drivers, but a PC has other stuff running in the background which could affect this...
Having TeamViewer or the likes running in the background ALSO hooks the display driver and might give you this result...
For me if I enable Share/ShadowPlay I get massive performance drops.... to 10 fps or the likes in all games..

What afterburner is showing is the OpenGL renderer. The wrapper doesn't use an OpenGL WINDOW but a DX9 window. Since it needs to render in 3D is that FPS /2 ....
As to your problem, this thread contains information on this game. If you read it you might find things that will help you find YOUR problem. If not... I can't do anything about it :(
For the record I tested the game TONIGHT at 5760x1080 in 3D Surround. I get 70 FPS as reported by the game and 35 In 3D without any stuttering or LAG...so.. not sure what is wrong on your end... Be sure you don't have any overlays of any kind...
Also if msi is showing 80 FPS you will get 40 in 3D... Not sure what the problem is with the 980Ti though, as the other user reported using the same card... could it be a driver problem? not sure...
Also try to set 3D Vision as being OFF on game start-up (From the Windows registry) and turn it ON after the game starts... Lately I see a bug related to this that cuts the FPS down to 10 fps...

and yet i set it at 95 in game menus ?
why is there a note about remembering FOV but nowhere in the install instructions
is them mentionel where is it needed ?

Every camera has 2 fovs a vertical one and a horizontal one.. Last I leave you to figure out:)
That line needs to be removed from the Readme file. A previous version of the fix required you to pass the in-game fov value to the ini file, but now is not required and the corrections work on every fov level.

i found out something wierd....
There is the tree different options for using 3d vision in the nvidia control panel
select when the display is in 3d mode
always
only when 3d programs run
only when 3d full-screen programs run
i discovered i can´t turn on and off 3d vision if i have the "only when 3d full-screen programs run"
option selected. and doesn´t that mean that SOMA isn´t really running in full-screen like it suppose
to be, allthough i have checked the ini and i have it set ?
Could it be the problem for low frames is that is the case that it really isn´t in full-screen mode ?

I said it many times before:
In Windows 7 there is a BUG in the DX-OGL interoop layer. It doesn't allow you to make a DX9 FULLSCREEN CONTEXT without an OUT OF MEMORY error in which case 3D Vision DOESN'T WORK. The context MUST BE MADE AS A WINDOW or Borderless WINDOW.
This BUG IS FIXED IN WINDOWS 10 DRIVERS!
I have said this on numerous times in numerous topics (probably this one).

See above.
I expect the problem is in your GPU not being 100% used but rather idleing or doing something funky which relates to a driver bug.
Like I said before, you need to do some experimentation and figure what is happening there on your machine.
If you do find out, please share with everyone;) I can also update the readme.
For me (and others) is working perfectly fine.
I personally tested it on:
GTX880 Single GPU -> Windows 10
GT55M Single GPU -> Windows 10 (I get framerates in the 20 in 3D Vision but definitely no lag/stuttering or the like)
2x780Ti on Windows 7/10 in Single and Surround 3D Vision.
All of them are working perfectly fine. More testing than this I cannot do:( And since I can't replicate the issue... I don't know what else I can do:( or advise....

Ok.
updated drivers to latest...great Dirt rally works as butter smooth ,,,besides the point.
no update to how the SOMA works...still a slide show
This is where things get wierd !!!!!!
i decided to fiddle with the picture mode as i found out the game can´t be running in real fullscreen mode
as i can´t turn off and on the 3d vision when i have selected the only when 3d full-screen programs run.
And every other game has worked with this option, if i remember corretly...
But i found a solution to butter smooth gameplay with my setup
I52500k@4.3Ghz/980ti/16GB/128ssd win7
I must have desktop setup to 120hz@1080p
and the game must be setup to same 120hz@1080p
and this is the wierd part....borderless works better than the fullscreen (jerky as hell)
but windowed works butter smooth.
i did try desktop at 100Hz, game 120/100/ about anything desktop 100 game 120 not working.
only the 120/120@1080p widowed works.
only annoying thing is that this is a dark game and there is bars up and down. but
luckily i can mask them out with my GEOBOX.
Horray !!! Looking forward to blow my mind and launch this baby with my updated poormans Atmos audio setup as this
one should have some decent audio track too.

Yes it´s propably driver or install of fix. it´s running great in 2D and every other game has no issues in 2D or 3D.
1080p
"I STATED BEFORE MSI is NOT showing the actual FPS... but a fake one"
shurely if msi is showing 80 fps it can´t be 5 fps. There´s gotta be some sort of reason to it, allthoug
it might show off a bit.

Every camera has 2 fovs a vertical one and a horizontal one.. Last I leave you to figure out:)
That line needs to be removed from the Readme file. A previous version of the fix required you to pass the in-game fov value to the ini file, but now is not required and the corrections work on every fov level.

GTX880 Single GPU -> Windows 10
Sorry!

updated drivers to latest...great Dirt rally works as butter smooth ,,,besides the point.
no update to how the SOMA works...still a slide show
This is where things get wierd !!!!!!
i decided to fiddle with the picture mode as i found out the game can´t be running in real fullscreen mode
as i can´t turn off and on the 3d vision when i have selected the only when 3d full-screen programs run.
