Stereoscopic 3D Emulation!
  4 / 7
I've tried a half dozen more versions of GSDX and some recent compiled betas of PCSX2 and no matter what I try it still does not work.

Anyone want to help out here? It sounds like it has to be some sort of strange issue considering that someone else is having the same issue with a different emulator.

Well, I can say that I don't get any 3d on my samsung plasma, only on alienware monitor, so there are some strange things going on

Zedr0n,have you updates your graphics card drivers so you have the latest 3DTV Play installed? I had some issues the other day and re-installing sorted everything out for me.

Yes, everything is up to date, I can get 3d on alienware, and I'm not using 3DTV Play, but hdmi 1.4 hack to get checkerboard.

Because 1080p24 is very noticeably sluggish and 720p60 doesn't scale well on 1080p display?
And 3DTV play doesn't have older DLP checkerboard option which was the standard before newer 3dtv's became available.

I have S3D working with PCSX2 by changing to exe to googleearth.exe as specified, but I'm having 2 problems...

1. There are two large vertical bars of artifacts on the right and left sides of the screen.
When I press ctrl+t to exit S3D mode, the artifacts disappear.

2. There is a MASSIVE amount of ghosting.

I'm using an AW2310 monitor @ 1920x1080. D3D internal res is set to 1920x1080, and custom window size is 1024x768, 16:9.

Thanks for your help! /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Sorry to double post, but here is a video (2560x720p) of FFX on pcsx2 in S3D, so that people can see how it looks before they try it out:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dL_bxooFKxw

I still haven't found a solution for the flickering bars on the side, I just run it in windowed mode with two windows covering the sides for now....

Hi, I was wondering, can anyone please tell me how the fatal frame games work in 3d with the pcsx2? I haven't tried to make pcsx2 work in 3d since I have so many games to play in pc yet, but fatal frame should be amazing in 3d and I'm willing to give the emu a try if they work.

I still cannot get PCSX2 to show any depth or convergence at all. I don't know what I'm doing wrong I've tried multiple builds of pcsx2 and multiple versions of gsdx (until I finally found 890). The 3d emitter turns on and so do the glasses with gsdx 890 but the image is just 2d. I have followed all of the instructions and I have clean installed the drivers with driver cleaner 3 times. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

Can anyone zip up their PCSX2 folder minus bios and put it on mediafire or something?

@MirriNigma: I got PCSX2 to work in 3D. Try with this, hope it works: PCSX2

But:
I also can't control the convergence. Tried changing the shortcuts without success.

I noted that neither in Google Earth I can't change the convergence, it just stutters back and forth. Maybe it has something to do with that? Can you guys change the convergence in Google Earth without problems?
Does anybody know where the 3d Vision profiles are saved? How to reset them?

I changed my shortcuts to page up and page down and the convergence does work.

I was able to fix my stereo 3D problem by making the filename "googleearth.exe" instead of "googleearth.exe.exe" (apparently, even with show file extensions on, if you name it ".exe", it messes up.)

edit: -Any- GSDX I've tried now works. Any issues with bars on the side can be helped with use of CYCLE FULCRUM ADJUSTMENT and adjusted convergence. DX10/11 works with a lot of bugginess.

EDITEDIT:

I have been doing a lot of fiddling with this and I have come up with the following instruction set:

1. Clean Drivers
2. Install Clean Drivers
3. Install Clean PCSX2 (beta, SVN, or otherwise)
4. Grab a lot of variants of GSDX from the page I linked earlier
5. Configure PCSX2 to work with your games.
6. Test various GSDX until you find one with the fewest artifacts for the game you are playing.

Details regarding CONVERGENCE, DEPTH, and EXECUTABLE NAME:
Convergence is locked and depth is not if you choose the executable name googleearth
I have tried multiple other games including sc2, wow, avatar, bfbc2, their EXE names do -NOT- work.

I theorize that in order to properly configure DX10/11 mode PCSX2 in 3D Vision Windowed Mode you would need to use an application that has both of those settings. For example, if Google Earth were to add a dx10/11 rendering mode to their software, I would assume that the drivers would work with PCSX2 when they're properly fooled.

How did you unlock the convergence? I can adjust the convergence in any other game, including the Wii Emulator Dolphin (although I had to press the key during half a minute until a change was visible...), but not in Google Earth or PCSX2... /sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

If you can find a compatible application (for some reason, World of Warcraft all but works for me - it just makes the left lens show both eyes' images, and the right eye show right.
Google Earth has a set convergence, and because this driver foolery resorts to the 3d vision settings of google earth, convergence is locked.

EDIT:

This is the compatibility that I have dealt with so far:

Kingdom Hearts, RE:Chain of Memories, and KH2: Final Mix+ will all open, and Stereo 3D will turn on. It will tend to reset itself during load screens, there's artifact-y borders on the left and right sides where they're "pulled out from underneath the bezel". A small patch of land near Sora's left foot will flash in and out. Left eye is FULL of artifacts, right eye is 100% clean.

Fate/Unlimited Codes had NO ARTIFACTS AT ALL in 3D. The menus did NOT over-stretch, and increasing depth was very effective in causing the characters to look 3D. There tended to be some artifacts on the edges of textures in menus, but even the menus had a nice little 3D depth effect.

.hack//G.U. (1-3) work WONDERFULLY other than the fact that they are absolutely BLASTED with archaic post-processing that kills performance and makes the game look bad in 3D (Everyone has their own little mini-blur following them around to look less aliased.)

Melty Blood: Actress Again crashed after the opening credits.

Gundam games are all buggy as hell without 3D on, I didn't even bother if something flawless in 2D like KH/RECOM/KH2 messed up so significantly.

EDIT 2

Apparently one of my secondary plugins had anti-aliasing enabled, when I turned it off there it solved this. I am now playing flawless Kingdom Hearts 2 3D

EDIT 3

There is separation but there appears to be 0 depth in Kingdom Hearts 2.

4

In fullscreen, there is a severe degradation of performance, it appears to be just from being fullscreen rather than being resolution-related.
