Batman Arkham asylum detective mode non 3d?
Running batman, looks absoluty stunning, I have increased the depth of field to as high as possible before it gets blurry, and increased convergence for accurate pop out.
The game looks and runs amazing but when switching to detective mode the pointers to in game features are 2d, meaning it doesn't point to the item, but will point to the left and right of it ( as your eyes create double vision.)

Is there anyway to correct this, or was this just a flaw when designing the game for 3d?
Thanks for your help.

Hi

This was a problem that existed in the game that would need to be fixed by the developer.

We will work to address it in the next Batman.

The GOTY edition is a different build I think. It may not have been patched like the original.

The original may be patched up to v.1.1

Ok just checked on it. The GOTY on steam is only v.1.0. It's not patched and steam considers them two totally different games. Thank god I bought the original at retail.

but i've read that v1.0 goty edition includes all the patches and is identical to the patched normal version. The normal version needed to be patched to include pysx etc, goty came with that automatically. If you ever install it again or play on it, it would be good to confirm or not whether this was fixed within the game. I would have thought that its more likely you didn't notice it, or perhaps your depth of field wasn't set to high, so it didn't create to much of a problem (i have mine on the max setting before it becomes blurry. Either that or i'm being screwed for downloading a legally paid for version of the game!

Anyway thanks for your input dude.

The Game of the Year version is older than the patched up original version!?!? That makes no sense at all. You might want to ask what's going on inside the Steam forums.

no its not, version 1.0 of the original did not contain pysx, 100%... so the goty version 1.00 means 1.00 of goty version, aka its a different game, and there are no patches for it as all the patches were included.

thought that was what you were asking your guys, whether there was a difference between the original and GOTY.

I will ask our devtech team about this. As far as i have read, and understand the patch 1.1 added pysx etc to the original.

The goty had this patch already included, and is considered version 1.0 of that version as there was never any further patches added (As far as i understand). Can anyone confirm that they have the original batman, patched up to 1.1 and have detective mode running in 3d? or is the detective mode cursors being generated as 2d only as i have? not that it really matters greatly any-more, i'll probably have completed it beforehand! would be interested to know anyway.

I have Batman GOTY 1.0 (Non-Steam version), and Detective mode works correctly in S3D mode, crosshair and everything else is 3D. The only 2D elements are lines and text about people condition (see screenshot). Forceware 260.99

yes that is what im talking about, the 2d cursor which point to objects of interest, people etc. Fair enough, case closed i think, although for nvidia to call this game "nvidia ready" when clearly it was not designed 100% with 3d in mind is a bit poor. This game should be moved into the "excellent" rating on nvidia list. Nvidia ready should be for games that are 100% compliant with 3d, such as just cause 2 which is amazing.
This way people who buy nvidia 3d ready games know its really 100% 3d.You should inform people of the fact that objects are rendered at wrong depth (eg the 2d circular pointer in batman detective mode) in the profile as well.

It would have saved me a lot of time as i tried to solve this issue, as i thought it might be a problem with my set up, as i thought nvidia 3d ready meant it was 100% completely compatible with 3d. If i had known that this game wasn't i would have just accepted it and carried on playing (as it still looks fantastic in 3d)

Cheers for the responses guys, and thanks bercut for the images your uploaded! very kind.
