although the Nvidia equipiment and hdmi1.4 cable could both handle 1080p@120hz,
none of the Pannys in the offing could handle such a signal.
Anyway the first large flat panel company that displays 1080p@120hz gets my $4000.
A 30" 2560x1600 120hz panel would be a great alternative, hopefully we will see one soon.
The problem is that it is not in the HDMI1.4a specs, that only foresees sidebyside top/bottom or frame packing @ 720/60 or 1028/24. Neither nvidia nor Panasonic are to blame to follow these specs.

The only TFTs that seem able to accept Full HD field sequebtial input are the new Sammy 7series. However, these appear to suffer prominent ghosting.

The next best thing to wait for weill definately be Asus 27" offering since
I would not think that a 30" with IPS / VA panel to hit the scene any time. The 2D versions still range in the upper 1k range, and man, you would need a killer rig to ride the 3D wave on those.

Your saying that the new Samsung 7000 series in doing 108060hz? So when 3DTVplay comes out we will be able to run games at full 1080p to each eye. Can anyone confirm this? Wouldn't mind a 40" computer monitor /teehee.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':teehee:' />

Also, when is 3DTVplay coming out?

I have some questions about the new GTX 480/470:

1. Why is there no HDMI 1.4 and what limitations will I be faced with when using HDMI 1.3a and a 3D TV?
This thread talks about HDMI 1.4a, but the new cards have HDMI 1.3a. I`ve read that the "3D part of 1.4a" will be supported, so what is not and what does that mean, if I want to connect a GTX 480 to a AV-receiver?
2. since there`s no Display port, can I use a HDMI-display port adapter? If yes, can I output 10bit colordepth/channel (to an EIZO, that is 10bit capable)?
3. There will probably cards with display port, if the vendors use their own board design. Is display port on the new cards in general able to output 10bit/channel?
4. I read that the new cards cannot output DTS Master Audio and Dolby Digital True HD BITSTREAM via HDMI. Is that true? If yes, how am I supposed to get those formats into a AV-receiver?

Hi

1. Please see our FAQs, there is a question in there related to this and answered. Just so everyone knows, 1080p60 support is entirely HDTV dependent right now. No HDTV supports it, so we dont send it out of the GPU.

1a. We will test this as part of our product.

2. I'm not sure what you are asking, use a DP to HDMI adapter?

3. I dont know the answer but will investigate.

4. I dont have information on that, but I will check.
