Tried to replace battery, getting an error
I hadn't used the glasses for a while and they wouldn't charge anymore, so I got a new battery to open them up and replace the battery. The battery is fully charged, but when I turn on the glasses the light first shows red for a couple of seconds and then goes green and then slowly dims and turns off. I can't find any info on what the reported error could be with this. The only thing I can guess is that maybe I wasn't careful enough with the glasses when I opened them up and something got disconnected. But I'm wondering if anyone knows what the light indicates.

V1 or V2? V1 have ribbons that run from the arms to the glasses to the main frames and require more delicacy. It sounds like the battery that you installed was dead, you might try pulse charging it. http://3dvision-blog.com/tag/3d-vision-battery-replacement/ http://3dvision-blog.com/350-3d-vision-glasses-might-have-a-battery-charging-issue/ Pulsing can take quite awhile

It's the version 2 glasses As far as I can tell, the battery is fine, the LED comes on without the glasses plugged in to USB. When I first plugged them in they had the blinking amber light indicating that it was charging, and then after a while it went solid indicating it was fully charged.

I already did a search, otherwise I wouldn't have posted a thread. I did some more tests, opened the glasses again and couldn't find any issues, it gets the same light pattern when it's plugged in to USB without the battery plugged in. I tested disconnecting the ribbon (so just the chip) and powered with USB it did the same pattern. So it could mean it's not able to communicate with the lenses/IR sensor, or it could mean that the chip is damaged.

I did it for an entire movie for one pair of my glasses. My glasses had the same light behavior. Otherwise, try a new battery or put the old one back in and try to warranty them with Nvidia.

You had the same light pattern? Again the battery is fine and it should work with the USB anyway

If you had searched the forum and read my post, you would see that. My 3 suggestions are above in post #6 I'll add a fourth.... buy new glasses

Also, here's pics for V2 battery replacement that a user posted for future reference (for the rest of you) http://www.zieluk.pl/nvidia_3D_Vision/index.html

Read what post? What search terms would bring up your suggestion? The only thread I've found that had this issue is this one: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/474900/3d-vision/red-light-then-green-light-for-2-seconds/1/ Which doesn't have a solution. Your solution for pulsing the battery is if the battery is unable to charge because it's depleted, that's clearly not the case because there's nothing wrong with the battery and it's fully charged. It should be able to work when plugged in to the USB anyway

FFS, whatever you do, DO NOT try pulse charging them. Who knows, it just might work. How the fuck do you know that it's fully charged? Have you used a multi meter on the battery to "measure" voltage? Even then, in my personal experience, I've found that multi meters do not fair well, when giving battery charged status. The best thing I found for testing my rechargeable batteries, is this piece of shit https://www.amazon.com/Gardner-Bender-GBT-500A-Battery-Lantern/dp/B000BOBZJ0/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1523654149&sr=8-6&keywords=battery+tester _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ If what you posted is indeed the case [quote="darthviper7"]Your solution for pulsing the battery is if the battery is unable to charge because it's depleted, that's clearly not the case because there's nothing wrong with the battery and it's fully charged. Did you test the old battery? ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ I have 5 glasses, they all work. Three required pulse charging when I bought them and still work. As stated previously, whatever you do, do not pulse charge them, it just might work. I already know it's not a battery issue, if the only solutions you know of are related to fixing the battery (which again, is not the issue) then don't post. This is clearly outside of your knowledge on the subject.
