Are you sure your TV does interpolation at 3D ?
My panasonic doesn't.
Could the nvidia team tell us if framepacking 30fps is possible ?

Yes, you have to go in the options to enable it (with my tv it is located in the same place where you have 16:9 overscan), I think it was called 24p Smooth Film and substitutes for Intelligent Frame Creation when you are running at 1080p24hz (regardless 3d or not). I hate using it on movies, as it ruins the film effect but in this case it makes the game look like it is running faster than 60hz.
It would be weird if your tv doesn't have it, considering the EU (my) Panasonic models are the most limited, they don't even have wobbling and pixel orbiting, let alone 24hz to 96hz quadrupling, which made me really disappointed once I had bought my tv.

I've tried the Zalman and Acer EDID using my Samsung C7000 Plasma TV and it worked perfectly, cause my TV supports interleaved mode along with Checkerboard and Frame Sequential modes. I see no reason to use these EDIDs, since Rollermod already provides me Checkerboard mode and it looks just like Interleaved mode.
It's a piity that now using Rollermod with the newest Nvidia drivers, I can no longer use Frame sequential 1080p30hz (Generic CRT mode).
I've played more games in FS 1080p30hz than in CB 1080p60hz. I really wish Nvidia made possible for 3DTV Play for having 30hz, instead of just 24. That would be awesome for gaming. It would make possible to game in 3D 1080p full resolution per eye for a lot of games but 1st person shooters.

Hey nvidia, any answer ? /dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Why doesn't Andre Fear or any other Nvidia personel comes here and discuss this possibility in this thread??? Maybe it's because we're not going to see Frame Packing 1080p30hz any time soon, or even 3DTV Play supporting SBS or Under-over 3D modes.
I don't think it's in their interests...

I think some of you are still misunderstanding checkerboard and interleave.
HDMI is limited to a 60 Hz input signal.
In a 60Hz input signal, you can only get 60 full frames.
But in a 60Hz input signal you can get 120 half frames. 120 half frames fit within the HDMI 60 Hz signal by piggybacking.
These piggybacked signals are processed once they pass the HDMI chip, that limits the signal to 60Hz. The processed signal is now split from the 60 piggybacked frames into 120 half frames.
The half frames are displayed at one every 1/120th of a second. You get 60 half frames per eye (not 30). It is the persistence in the brain of the resulting image that makes the half frames for the most part, irrelevant.

3DTV Play may support over/under on some of the new projectors as far as I know. I'm pretty sure the Optoma HD33 uses over/under, I spoofed an EDID from one and the resulting image was a split scren with one image on top of the other since my projector is frame sequential and could not interpret it.

Yes, HDMI is limited to 60 Hz input signal for 1080p, and 120 Hz input signal for 720p.
So, Nvidia could do 1080p60 SideBySide/TopBottom (60 half-1080p images per eye)
And, since it requires the same bandwidth, and it's in the HDMI 1.4a spec, 1080p30 (30 real-1080p images per eye)
We all know it's possible to have SBS and Top bottom for 3DTV Play, so why doesn't Nvidia adds these features??? Because they don't care, they will keep saying it's going to be added in the future, that's it's in their roadmap assigment. I've been reading these promisses since 2010, when Andrew promissed that Checkerboard would be added to 3DTV PLay and this was in June 2010, so come on, do you guys still believe this will take place sometime? I guess this is not a priority to them, cause 3DTV Play is just a spare product, they are more worried about 3D Vision where Nvidia really does a great job in my opinion.
1080p30hz for 3DTV Play, well, I don't think so??? Cause 3DTV's have 2 Frame packing modes, 720p for gaming and 1080p for watching movies. BD3D optimal mode is 24hz, so I don't think they will add 30hz for that, since TV's are concerned with consoles (720p60hz) and movies (1080p24hz), and 1080p30hz is not in their priorities, I mean Nvidia and TV manufacturers.
I had the pleasure of playing many games like Batman AC using my Samsung C7000 3D Plasma TV which supports frame sequential mode in Generic CRT mode/Rollermod (1080p30hz) and it was my favorite 3D mode for gaming in the big screen. Many games that were unplayable at 1080p24hz using 3DTV Play became very playable using Rollermod/Generic CRT mode (1080p30hz).I liked this mode better than Checkerboard (1080p60hz), cause the 3D quality was outstanding and games looked amazing in my TV with 3D Vision's Generic CRT mode.
Now I have my drivers updated using 296.10 and Generic CRT mode is no longer an option for me, so I from now on I only have Checkerboard mode using Rollermod with my 3DTV.
So, I'll really miss the amazing 1080p30hz mode, and the way things are going with Nvidia you guys shoudn't expect having these features added to 3DTV Play anytime soon.
Nvidia has been taking more than giving. Getting rid of Generic CRT mode is something that really made me mad about Nvidia and for what???

Just so you know you're not a lone voice, I want to echo the question. Come on Nvidia!!? Please can you give us an update? These features have all been discussed before and the lack of a straight answer is quite frankly a bit embarrassing. We've heard of roadmaps and the to-do list, but really, sometimes it feels like you've abandoned this forum. Recent developments like Max Payne are clearly big wins, but don't forget, sometimes it's easier to lose customers than attract new ones.
