I've been using a Logitech Illuminated Keyboard (original) for a few years now. Its not a "gaming" keyboard per se, but has worked just fine for me. Its more of a laptop style keyboard with low key travel but a great feel if you like laptop style keyboards. Much better than the newer "illuminated" models Logitech has introduced. There's a button that allows you to control backlight, at full blast you can see keys in the dark even without LightBoost. Also after 3 years of heavy usage, the laser etched keys haven't faded into indistinguishability like some other keyboards I've used. Only the N key has shown some slight wear. Lastly, the keys tend to build up less of that gunky residue on wasd and 1-5 keys compared to other keyboards I've used. I bought it for ~$40 from Newegg years ago, the price has steadily increased since then as I know its a very popular keyboard for gamers and non-gamers alike.

Seriously? Some people prefer to game in complete darkness with a gamepad for the optimal 3D experience, having to turn on a light just to make keyboard presses for minor adjustments can be a nuisance.

The backlight luminosity is not blinding, when I first installed it and saw the max backlight setting I was concerned it might not be enough tbh but upon trialling it for real, I have found no issues whatsoever playing in the dark, in 3D, using my first gen 3D Vision.
As I said the luminosity isn't blinding, slightly more might be nicer, but it is still perfectly functional - seeing the keys is no longer an issue for me.
