According to the Physxinfo.com website, here is what the 3 different levels of physx entails:
"PhysX High includes all additional GPU PhysX effects, described and showcased above.
PhysX Medium is less demanding for system resources – amount of physical particles is lowered, chunks from destructible objects are disappearing faster, SPH Fluid simulation is disabled.
PhysX Low - basic CPU physics, similar for PC and consoles. Interesting note: physically simulated clothing and hair for Alice are not part of hardware PhysX content, and are not affected by PhysX settings."
As cool as the fluid simulation is, I would rather disable it to keep the 3D effect as good as I can get it.

Thanks for those details. I think I'll try medium settings next time I start it up.

My 2 cents: one of the best 3D vision experiences available so long as PhysX is set to medium. So much pop-out and toyification...and the game is a blast to play too! Once physx is fixed, this one will be 3D Vision Ready for sure.

Using the settings mentioned above the game really looks great in S3D. As the graphics are very artistic but not very detailed the game gains a lot by using S3D that offers additional depth information (similar to older games or e.g. Dragon Age). S3D also helps a lot playing the 3D jump'n run sections.
Alice 2 is a good example for an unreal 3 engine game working propper in S3D. So perhaps using the profile for Alice 2 with other UR3 games (renaming their exe-files to AliceMadnessReturns.exe) might help to solve issues with water surfaces, dust, etc. (similar to the ofdr.exe tweak)? Unfortunately this trick doesn't work with Hunted - the demon's forge (the game isn't recognized as "Alice"). As the iZ3D driver offers almost flawless S3D for UR3 games there should be a way to solve the typical UR3 issues with the correct driver or profile...

I cant even get 3d to work in this game?
As soon as 3d vision is enabled the game freezes at the title screen...
When i disable 3d vision from nvidia control panel the game works perfect but i dont want to
play in 2d:(
Any suggestions?
(Im using 275.33 drivers)
Btw - has anyone figured out how to get this game to work in surround? (i tried the previous suggestion from the post above - but this
doesnt work)
I had this problem too and here is how I got around it:
Go to the AliceEngine.ini file that is located in your documents folder in a path similar to this - C:\Users\home\Documents\My Games\Alice Madness Returns\AliceGame\Config
Before you do anything to it, make a backup of the file. Then go inside and search for the following command:
AllowNvidiaStereo3d=True
Change the True to False and save the file. Now run the game and make sure 3D is turned on with the in game option and it should work now. The only problem I have noticed with this is if I alt-tab out of the game for any reason, the 3D is disabled and the only way to enable it again is to exit out of the game and restart it.
I am not sure what is causing this as I am on the 275.33 drivers and running SLI but it works now with that tweak.

I cant seem to adjust convergence at all. tried everything already posted in this thread. Using 275.33 drivers. Not sure whats missing. Saw the homecoming stereo pic and reinstalled the game for 3d. Cant seem to get convergence in that game as well.
Edit: Ignore my stupidity. Just had to enable convergence in the nvidia control panel

BTW using the combination of iZ3D driver and 3DVision glasses allowed me to set physx effects to max without issues with fluids being rendered in 2D. So iZ3D can better handle Nvidia physx effects than the Nvidia 3D drivers...

Yep. Nvidia has gotten there last cent out of me UNLESS they change what they are doing and start actually bieng a good company and not just abusing there users. I mean, Dragon Age 2 took ages to get working with Nvidia, and then the next update made it unplayable. Great work Nvidia. If you can tell what i'm saying, i'm saying Nvidia f***ing sucked bigh time recently and have done nothing but provide the worst customer service I have seen in a LONG time.

Have you tried enabling 3d in the config.ini file (I know by default it is set to off)? You generally will need a beasty computer for it to run at a playable fram rate though (unless i've completely lost my mind). Shall report back with the results tonight, as just enabling 3d with 3d vision results in the game often being unplayable. That bieng said that is acceptable as no one ever said it would be 3d ready (cough, nvidia and The Witcher 2).

My original display name is 3d4dd - for some reason Nvidia changed it..?!
AllowNvidiaStereo3d=True

My 2 cents: one of the best 3D vision experiences available so long as PhysX is set to medium. So much pop-out and toyification...and the game is a blast to play too! Once physx is fixed, this one will be 3D Vision Ready for sure.

hahahaha "once physx are fixed"
