3DTV Play "issues" HELP!
Alright so I have a laundry list of issues since concerning the final 3DTV Play drivers that I was hoping you smart people could help me address.
I have my desktop computer hooked up to the Panasonic VT20 television with 1.4 HDMI cable.

1. When playing a game in 3d mode, the crosstalk aka ghosting increases as I increase the depth (ctrl+F4). I can't increase past 10% without serious ghosting and it's annoying.

2. I cannot play a blu-ray in 3d. I am using the newest Totalmedia Theater and the movie will play, but what appears to be in a scan line interleave mode. I try to switch to a side to side viewpoint for example, yet it is still locked in the scan line look.

3. I understand that the Nvidia software is locked at 720p for games, is this actually a bandwidth issue with the current HDMI standard? I seem to remember playing in 1080p with alternative stereoscopic software, is this something that could be upgraded in the future?

4. I get massive framerate drops in 3d mode for every game I have tried so far. Is this normal?

So there you go, these are the nagging questions I want to have answered. I do hope Nvidia will keep updating the 3DTV Play software, so far I am not really impressed in it's current state.

I'm not the athority on all this but maybe I can throw my 2 cents in for some of your questions.

1) Try adjusting both the depth and convergence and see if you can gain depth while losing some of the ghosting. I know with darksiders I really have to adjust both depth and convergence (popout) to get the game to look really good. This may or may not help with your ghosting issue.

2) I don't use a bluray player on my pc so can't help with this one

3) Yes its a bandwith issue with HDMI not with nvidia. TriDef will do 1080p at 60hz but its actually not full 1080p, its really 720p for each eye. Kinda of misleading as I found out after purchasing TriDef.

4) You will take a small hit to fps in 3D as your computer now displays two images of the game instead of one. But if you have a decent computer you should be able to lower the graphics just a hair and gain the FPS's back. If your taking a huge hit on all games then I would say something else is the issue. Try turning off things like PhsyX or ambient oclusion, I know that helped with my TriDef running smooth in Batman: AA but Batman does work flawlessly with those turned on with Nvidia 3DTV Play. Again, might night be the solution but can't hurt to try.

EDIT: I just read that alot of people have had success with turning off the Nvidia Crosshair to fix framerate issues. Not just Cntrl F12 but actually go into the Nvidia control panel, go to 'Change laser sight' and untick 'enable 3d sight for games'

3. I understand that the Nvidia software is locked at 720p for games, is this actually a bandwidth issue with the current HDMI standard?
No. The HDMI1.4 standard has enough bandwidth for 1920x1080/ 50fps per eye. The prob is that all "A" type HDMI is single link, dual link is required for full res / full framerate 3D gaming. That's why computer monitors can do full framerate, full resolution 3D, they are dual link DVI. HDTV manufactures have announced they will never go to a dual link input such as dual link DVI, displayport 1.2, or HDMI type "B". So gamers will never be able to do 3D gaming at full res/framerate in 3D on a full size display.
I seem to remember playing in 1080p with alternative stereoscopic software, is this something that could be upgraded in the future?
No. Nvidia support has told me that they will continue to deny customers with HDMI1.4 HDTVs access to the same 1920x1080 formats that HDMI 1.3 customers now enjoy.
4. I get massive framerate drops in 3d mode for every game I have tried so far. Is this normal?
Yes. I get about 60% drop.

3DTV Play is the biggest set back in 3D gaming of all time. Reason is that with the creation of 3DTV Play, Nvidia deliberately discontinued 3D Vision setup for all HDMI 1.4 televisions. Result is that if you bought the 3D Vision kit, you find that you can't use it unless you regress back to pre-3DTV Play software, about April 2010. Worse, only HDMI 1.4 people are being punished, HDMI1.3 HDTVs can use all releases of 3D Vision software. You should call Nvidia support at 408 486-2300 and tell them to reinstate 3D Vision software for HDMI 1.4 HDTVs. I've done this and their response was "we won't do that until we get more than one person complaining."

Not sure what this means. I use the beta 3D TV Play 266.35 drivers with both my HMDI 1.4 samsung 3D TV and my Dual Link DVI Alienwareâ„¢ OptXâ„¢ AW2310 Computer Monitor. I don't need to use pree april 2010 drivers. Are you refering to something else?

What resolution and refresh rate can you run with on your HDMI 1.4 set?

I have another issue...When playing a 3d game, I can never get the convergence 100% correct. If I align objects in the foreground correctly, the background is very distorted and vice versa. suggestions?

It's like me, a friend who has the 3d vision on the monitor works fine, but me, on my LG hdtv "certified" Nvidia convergence create much ghosting. It's like 3D Tvplay don't adjust the convergence like 3Dvision..

Nvidia please help us !

Your LG is not Nvidia "certified". Nvidia only certifies Displays used with 3D Vision.

HDMI 1.4 Displays are supported via 3DTV Play if they meet the requirements. The Displays supported via 3DTV Play do not require the manufacturer to pay a licensing fee.

LG knows about the crosstalk/ghosting/colorbug issues that are present in different 3D formats. Some are worse than others, ex. Checkerboard has never been improved by LG.

LG is either unable or unwilling to fix their issues, for this reason, I returned the 47LW that I had.

I returned mine within the 30 day window for returns. After multiple firmware updates the 3D gaming issues were not getting any better, better safe than sorry, so it went back.
