Compatible tv for gaming: Samsung PS51D550C1M/ UA32D6000SM/UA40D6000SM? Are either of these Samsung
Hi folks,
I'm wondering if either the Samsung PS51D550C1M/UA32D6000SM or the UA40D6000SM will work with the Nvidia 3D Vision kit to use as a display placing pc games in 3D? (I've put links below)
They're not listed under http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-requirements.html and I've looked at the specs on Samsung but am not sure.

I'm already using Nvidia 3D Vision on my pc with an Alienware2310 (and a EVGA GeForce GTX 480 1536MB SuperClocked which also has mini hdmi output) but am getting a new television and thought maybe I could get one that I will have the option to also use for 3d gaming.

Also is there a signal delay between keyboard>pc>tv making response time slower in games?

1. The TV you select better have DVI- dual link support or else it will only do 24 FPS.
2. I may be corrected but i believe tvs at 120Hz aren't actually 120Hz. Its a deception.

Ignore the TVs requirements on the Nvidia website. The list is incomplete and thus misleading. The only TVs that can do 3D gaming in native resolution at full framerate 60Hz are all the 2010 Samsungs, plus the 2011 D7000/D8000 LED Samsungs. Ignore the 120Hz/240 Hz advertizing, it is meaningless for your purposes.

The 3D Vision functionality is incompatible with all Samsung TVs on your list. This is why you must get one of the Samsungs listed in the above paragraph, they are compatible with 3D Vision. Otherwise, you'll be stuck with 3DTV Play.
There is no signal delay with keyboard or mouse.

Thanks Shiftstealth, for your reply. Yeah when I first upgraded from a CRT to my alienware I did some research and discovered the Hz advertised on tvs wasn't the same as on monitors.

Roller thanks for your reply. Do you know where I can find a list of Samsungs made in 2010? What is the problem with being stuck with 3DTV Play? Are you referring to what I read in the system requirements - that the "3D TV manufacturer's 3D glasses are used" not Nvidia's glasses -so hence can't use my Nvidia glasses and would need samsung glasses (if they have them for that model)?

I still want to use my Alienware for general computer use and probably also for gaming in 3D sometimes too but do you know if after installing 3DTV Play I would still able to to do that? I mean would the Nvidia 3D Vision glasses still work with the Alienware monitor or not because the 3DTV Play software doesn't use the Nvidia glasses?

Basically it's the 'C' designation in the P/N, like PN63C7000. 'D' indicates it's a 2011 model. Go to the Samsung website and you'll see many 2010 models.

If you want to do native rez 3D gaming, get a Samsung that I refered to above, plus rollermod_2. Also, I figured out a fix for the eye reversal problem using rollermod_2. I need volunteers to see if it works for someone other than myself.
