Low FPS with 3D Vision in games
Hi,
I'm using 3D Vision for the first time and have a very huge problem. When 3D Vision is activate i get lower FPS then when it's deactive. It seems that i run againt a FPS wall which is 60 FPS (without 3D Vision in games) and 30 FPS (with 3D Vision is on in games). I can change whatever i want but their is no fix for this problem.
Maybe somebody has a idea and can help me.

System:
AMD X3 720@3200MHz
780a SLI with IGP activate
GTX480
8GB memory
Win7 64bit
197.44 and 257.25 make no difference
Acer GD245HD

Sounds like a possible issue with refresh rates, make sure the games are running @ 120hz

And when you say it runs at 30, it is infact running at 60 it just halves the frame rate for each eye. Your 3d display should be able to run @120 fps (non 3d) and 60fps (whilst in 3d).

Where can i change the refresh rate of the games?
The OSD shows that the monitors runs at 120Hz while gaming.

Strange, if the osd says its running at that.

I may be wrong in that case, but to change the refresh rate of the game depends on the game, some or well i find most dont have the option to change it. You can howerver force it on using the nividia control pannel.

Another way to do this is to bring up ur nvidia control panel, go to the stereoscopic 3d section, click test steroscopic 3d.... then in that window set the res and refresh rate and click apply this to all games.

Might work? hope this helps.

Can you detail which games you're experiencing this with?

For Monitor refresh rate, there's 2 places to check and both should be sync'd to each other:

1) Windows Screen Resolution applet: right-click on desktop, choose your 3D display, click Advanced Settings, then make sure 120Hz is selected.
2) Nvidia Control Panel: Change Resolution category, choose your 3D display, and make sure refresh rate is 120Hz.

There's 2 places to check for Vsync, either in the NVCP under Manage 3D Settings, for Global Settings, you can either force it off or choose application preference. In-game there should be an option to enable Vsync as well. You can disable both of these as the 3D stereo driver will override them anyways with its own 120Hz Vsync when its running.

For in-game resolution settings, some games allow you to choose both your resolution and refresh rate, so if there is an option for 1920x1080 (60Hz) or 1920x1080 (120Hz), choose the 2nd option.

Some games also have FPS caps/limits, although that should not be halved in 3D Vision. Another possibility is that you're either CPU limited or GPU limited and your system simply isn't able to produce more than 60FPS in 2D, so that when you enable 3D Vision, you get roughly half that which would be normal.
