How to fix/disable shaders in games(DLL,guide and fixes).

Guys, just wanted to say thanks to everyone working hard on making 3d better with Helix tools. A year ago this wouldn't have been possible and now everyone is working together to make things better for the whole community. Not to be sentimental, but this reminds me of the old days, when s-3d was new and exciting and we were searching of ways to edit ini/cfg files in hope of disabling effects and making things better. Times like these lead to the creation of MTBS, which made the community stronger.
Once again, /thanks.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thanks:' />

Guys, I have discovered something, maybe some of you already know it, but some may not. Yesterday I tried deleting some of the shader overrides on the witcher2 and the deleted ones were still active regardless that they weren't in the folder. Renaming the dll to something else did the trick, but also disabled all other shader overrides, which I did want to run. I'm not sure if this is the so-called shader cache corruption. Anyways, I managed to fix the problem rather easily, no rebuilding, no reinstall.
What I ended up doing is simply restoring the deleted shader overrides to their original state by taking the data from the dumps and re-ruining the game. Everything was normal, no broken shaders. After this I deleted the shaders overrides in question and re-ran the game. All was normal still. My point with this story is that from now on, maybe it would be a good idea to include the original single shader dumps in the archives as backup, so that when one could restore the game in case of problems.

Wait...So, after running the "Helix" fix you maintainted the altered shaders? I am xonfused. :)

@sammaz
Maybe I wasn't clear enough, sorry, I'll give you an example:
I have 5 txt shaders in the Pixel shader override folder.
I decided I don't want to use 3 of these and deleted them, but when I ran the game they were still active (first I tried to simply rename to txt1).
So what I did was copy the original shader txts from the dumps folder and replacing the edited in the override folder. Running the game with the originals finally disabled the overrides. After that I was able to delete the shader txts from the override folder and not get stuff disabled in the game. This is pretty much it. So if you have a broken game, find the responsible shader txt in the override folder and replace it with the original txt from the dumps folder. After that you are free to edit the shaders again if you want to.

Just want to say another big thanks to Helix for his DS2 fix. It's awesome.
I didn't know this so this is just a heads up for others. At first I used the newest release d3d9.dll and the game didn't work properly. The lighting was turned off - making a very dark game. I downloaded the older and slightly larger d3dx9.dll which came with the game shadersoverrides on the Helix fix game list page and it worked fine. Sorry brilliantly.

I would like to thank everyone who has helped fix the 3D in non-working games.
I am using Helix fixes in NUMEROUS games and it makes these games mind-boggling in 3D. Dead Space 2 is especially amazing.
I only have one small issue which probably is not able to be fixed but I'll ask anyway. In Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, your allies' floating-text names and objective floating-text does not render properly instead it just shows double-vision. Is there anyway to remove/fix these texts?

Click "I" before playing a game in MP. will push text a bit further into screen.

Thanks that looks alot better, not perfect but it's probably due to my depth being set to 100% and my insane convergence settings (I really like to exaggerate the effects of 3D even if it causes some small issues).

Not really convergence just depth but I agree. I actually prefer the hud in depth a little bit so I hit "I" regardless of single player or multiplayer. Unfortunately though I can tell you how to make it higher it would also effect your hud so its not really worth it.
Multiplayer is so much fun. I am so strange and only play like one character/class lol. I am over level 100. Never changed. Salarian/Infiltrator. I go pistol then I stealth kill with two proximity mines/ 1 proximity + melee/1 proximity + pistol shot. I am like the only one who doesnt use sniper rifles -_-.
Much thanx to helix for me3. Easily got out 100 hours lol... I have a problem.

Could anyone who has the game try an "Helix Mod /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> " for Risen 2? It was said to be excellent in S3D, but this was a hoax. The game has some shadow and lighting glitches and is far away from beeing 3DVision ready. If someone could try to fix it I (and I thing many others) would very much appreciate it. /thanks.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thanks:' />

I have found the problem vertex shader and attached it here. It was easy because it was #2 :)
I have posted some screens here...
http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/sammaz/
In the BEFORE shots you can see a "Halo" effect when the rider is cast against water. It creates a doubling effect.
When I completely disable the shader using :
vs_3_0
dcl_position v0
dcl_position o0
It creates an extreme shimmering on the water. (Posted screenshot of this also)
Can someone suggest a water reflection technique for this?
Thanx!
This is the only 3D issue with this game...it is awesome in 3D...played 2 hours last night.
