If you are reading this thread, most likely you have been curious and lucky enough to discover the amazing world of stereo gaming.
I have been a stereo player since 5 years or so, when I got my first pair of ED glasses. Ghosting and all, I never gave up. I actually don't own yet an LCD display, except for my notebook, because the glasses seem to work so much better with CRTs. And then there are sacrifices, like the HDR, or the postprocessing effects turned off. But it all cancels out when the stereo driver kicks in and your monitor becomes a real window into an imaginary world.
Now I am a Z800 user and that means going back in time to 800 x600, but who cares if there is no more ghosting and there is so much more light in comparison that I actually sometimes think of wearing sun glasses while playing.
And then, regardless of the glasses, there is the qwest for enough FPS. A unique challenge for Stereo players. While most people play happily enough using mainstream video cards, we stereo gamers have to think big. Big bucks, to get the top of the line hardware that will allow us to cross that magic 30fps barrier, if we are lucky.
30fps in stereo is like... Mach 1 for stereo gamers.
But it is so worth it that I cannot think of going back.
The world is not flat any more. Long live Stereo.
I confess that I was ready to write and complain about the drivers and the support.
But then I realized that beyond paying for the product I never took the time to say thanks for the fun. It's been 5 years since it all begun. Therefore I say it now.
Thank you to you all ... Stereo believers.
Specially to those of you that make it happen and keep it alive.
Please don't give up.

Great post mbellonvidia, my thanks to NVIDIA as well. I got my first expirence with 3D with an ATI card an the ED driver, at the time it only supported DX8 games and only a few of them, I read on other forums how much better the 3D was on an NVIDIA card so after many years of ATI. I switched to NVIDIA now just about every game I own works in 3D. Thanks again NVIDIA

This is on the other hand maybe something to cry about. I´m too concerned about future developments and the ever changing landscape. We have seen the impact from TFT´s and now also facing dual/quad cores, DX10/post processing, x64/Vista developments escalating. Then some future games to be delivered on to that. /ermm.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ermm:' />
Either one can dig a hole and bring your good old machine and some great stereo games and return in 1-2 years time(don´t give up!), or you will have to enter this battle with a blindfold and a heavy wallet. It will be these soldiers that will drive this forward. Are you one of them?
