anyone interested in playing Alien Isolation in VR? Thanks to Bo3b it's possible.
I know we have a bunch of VR aficionados here and I think you'd be happy to know that our own Bo3b has released a great VR fix that while incomplete, make the Alien Isolation experience that much more terrifying! One of the top trending threads on Oculus VR sub reddit today! Congrats! https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/6m6my2/alien_isolation_vr_mod_playable_but_limited/

I would have loved too, but this is one of the few games I actually still get motion sickness on. (used to happen all the time before I started 3D gaming. So I imagine in VR it will be even worse for me.... Oh, and I always get stuck so apparently I am shit at it. XD

I tested my friends pimax with Alien isolation with vorphx I don't know. I followed the instructions and man it Was horrible. I tried project cars, the cocpit looked pretty decent but the road Was Horrible. I don't have quite big hopes from Oculus or vive as i tested once the Vives funpark Thingy and it Was super awfull in graphics. maby the pimax is asscrack device but ill say when i Powered my power Plant, it Was like jumping from 70 year old Lada into a ferrari. Visually the dual projector setup cleana the table 10/1 Is there any better way to try Alien isolation than worphx ? I had to uninstall the 3d vision fix to try it with vorphx

No, this is not VorpX related at all. I had the same problem with VorpX, could never get it right. VorpX is a strange thing, I've never gotten anything to work worth a damn with it. But some people swear it's awesome. My mod is a standalone mod that uses 3Dmigoto and the Alien fix that Mike_ar69 and I made. So the stereo is absolutely spot on, no broken effects. Installs just like the Alien fix. Only weirdness is that you need to set to anaglyph mode, and change game settings for VR resolution. It's not a perfect VR fix, I'm just releasing it now because a different mod is supposed to be coming out in a couple of weeks that will probably work better. This mod has the proper sense of scale and presence that you expect. Playable, but imperfect. Reportedly works on Vive using Revive as well. @necropants: That getting motion sick on the normal game is because they stupidly set the FOV artificially low, like 64 degrees or something terrible. They did that to make it seem more claustrophobic, but it's retarded. It makes some people sick to have it that narrow.

It replaces all the files. You set anaglyph in the NVidia Control Panel. It's called 3D Vision Discover in the popup. FOV is set in game settings. Check the Readme Install file for details, but best bet is to follow the VideoSettings.jps files that show the settings. There is a special FOV I made called Rift-FOV. (95 degrees)

Very well done bo3B! I remember you mentioned this a few months ago where you said we shouldnt get our hopes high. This is what you were talking about right? Where you join VR and 3d Vision? This might be a long shot, and I dont mean to disrupt your thunder, just an idea, but I've been thinking why you and all the shader hackers dont form a company to provide middle ware solutions between game- and hardware developers? Similar to what tridef aimed for. Im sure if all you guys joined forces to be in the middle of stereoscopic gaming there might be a future for virtual gaming. Instead of every game developer who has to program according to a certain platform, they come to you guys who know enough before they even start their pipelines. If you could get the guys from tridef to join forces im sure every angle of a challenge will be covered to have a broad perspective in this dilemma us stereo gamers find ourselves in. It is you guys who unlock the potential to ultimate gaming. Please, if you dont have a son, make one. And teach him everything you know. Your knowledge cant be buried with you one day! xD Very well done!!!

Nice man, thank you for releasing it and your 1.5 years dude! The realtime IPD adjustment in Nibre's mod I hope is going to open people's eyes to what simple changes in separation can do for 3D scaling differences. I know after using 3D Vision for so long, I can't stand when my scale Is off even just a little bit. So how are you guys liking VR now? Do you use it much? Have you overcome motion sickness? I notice the PSVR community is still raving over PSVR, after taking a break from following PSVR reddit I've been checking in the last week and many are still raving over it and I saw many "just got my psvr and its game changing" threads popping up. The rate of 3D knowledge growth is pretty encouraging. I see people letting others know to calibrate the IPD setting for new users and to correct scale problems so that's good. I noticed a couple comments indicating that the scale of some games is different than others, presumably for the same IPD setting, which isn't great.

[quote="Metaloholic"]How do you know what is the proper scaling setting ? Not at all sure though.

So, the real question is this a pre-cursor to something bigger? You've essentially gotten a 3D Vision fix working in VR for this game, correct? Is that utilizing something specific to this game, or is this going to be possible for other/every DX11 3D Vision Ready game via 3DMigoto?
