Hmmmmm..... I'll take any less ghosting in a heartbeat. I need to return this viewsonic to fry's. Hopefully they let me return even though it's slightly past 30 days :P
This ASUS got really good reviews so far.

Do you know if 3D blu ray movies play at 120hz refresh rate?

As I said it's not night and day difference, you probably wouldn't notice unless you A/B them.

Second generation panels will play Blu-ray movies at 120Hz refresh rate. First generation panels will not.

But they wont work with 3d right?
Because its all out of sync and only bottom 10% actually cancles the correct side.
The left eye of the glasses works better than the right, but not great.
100 hz, 110 hz, 120hz doesnt matter.

If you're getting 90% ghosting there is something wrong.
There is some cross talk on all LCD panels, but outside the top 20% of the display, you pretty much have to look for it, it's more obvious in high contrast scenes.
The level of ghosting you see in this review http://3dvision-blog.com/review-of-the-23-lg-w2363d-120hz-full-hd-3d-gaming-monitor/ would be considered "normal".

Not sure if Viewsonic later corrected it but the first generation panels would not play HDCP content at a refresh rate higher than 60Hz. So this means no Blu-ray 3D on the first generation panels since 60Hz is too low for 3D. All second generation panels do not have this problem.

One side note, here are some tips to reduce ghosting:

1) Some monitors display less ghosting at 110Hz
2) Each monitor has different characteristics. All 3D monitors require a warm up period for proper 3D. If you launch a 3D game or movie shortly after turning on a 3D monitor, you will notice that the longer you play a game, ghosting will dramatically reduce as the monitor continues to warm up. The amount of time varies by monitor make and model.

Thanks.
Guess what. Bottom 10% of my screen has the 3d effect.
Guess about the top 90%.
Guess I dare you.
The top 90% is a double image.
$570 for nothing.

No seriously I'm never buying anything Nvidia again.

Never again. Never again.
AMD/ATI all the way.

You might have a bad monitor. It shouldn't be ghosting that badly. Are you letting your monitor warm up?

Most reviews of AMD's 3d solution strongly favors 3D Vision over AMD's solution. Saying mostly to be safe but all reviews I've read always picks NVIDIA over AMD.

I recently spoke with Teresa at Viewsonic. This is what she said:

[Teresa] To be clear, both monitors VX2268WM and VX2265WM will play bluray 3D movies if played with the computer with a Nvidia 3D video card and software that supports it such as Power DVD and will play in 120Hz refresh rate (60hz in each eye).

[Lenson] thanks so much.. you've been a wonderful help... I'm going to go buy a bluray for my computer now and i'm looking forward to sharing this great news with the NVIDIA community

The conversation was a lot longer than that. I asked her over & over again if she was sure and she said she was.

Are they lieing?

Well... you can force it to 110/100Hz instead of 120Hz if you want :D

I never thought of letting it warm up. I'll watch a dvd first I guess.
Will post back with results.

I disabled CIE amd thing or whatever that is. Now only 50% of the screen has "ghosting"
By ghosting I mean my right eye will see both images. The left eye is a lot better.

The demo, the top 50% of the screen was just two pictures.
100, 110, 120 doesn't matter.

50% is still way too much, the reviews on the 3D Vision blog site I linked to above had photographs taken through the lens to show you the level of expected ghosting.
Although reading between the lines here there do seem to be more issues on AMD systems.
Without some sort of conflict, no system should be shifting the timing off by 50% of a frame thats 4000uS.

Download the dpc latency checker and see if you have an issue with DPC latency
