Is my system powerful enough?
Hello,

I have a dual core 2.5GHz CPU, 4GB RAM, and a GeForce GTS-250/512MB running Windows 7 attached to a Mitsubishi 3D Ready DLP TV. Is this system powerful enough to run 3D Vision? If anyone with a GTS-250 could give me their impressions of 3D Vision that would be great.

Unfortunately the case and motherboard for my HTPC won't allow for upgrades.

Thanks,

DoP

Yes, it should be powerful enough as long as the games you play would still be playable at roughly half the fps you get currently. If not, turning down the visual bells & whistles (AA, Anisotropic, etc) can help lessen the hit from 3d mode.

Oh, yeah, I just realized you said GTS 250 not GTX. Not sure about that, I don't know much about the GTS line. Nvidia's system requirements for 3d Vision do list it as compatible, though.

In general, the rule is cut your fps in half and if your games would still be playable then you're probably good.

I don't think one GTS-250 has the horsepower of two 9800GT. /no.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
