For those having problems on Win 7, do you have KB 2670838 (AKA the evil update) installed? Are you running 64bit Win7 or 32bit?
For those having freezes when using hook=deferred_contexts, can you try:
hook=deferred_contexts except_set_shader_resources
and report back.
I'm currently installing Win 10 to see if I can reproduce some of these problems.
my experience:
-win7 64bit SLI no evil update:
hook= all except_set_shader_resources= dont launch
hook= deferred_contexts=launch but have low performace and freezes at the minute
hook= deferred_contexts except_set_shader_resources= dont test yet... may be this night

Using:
hook=deferred_contexts except_set_shader_resources
hook=deferred_contexts
I have a game freeze.
Using:
hook=all except_set_shader_resources
All is ok.
Also noticed that i have 5-8 fps drop with this option compared to the deferred_contexts (when the game is working of course)
win7 64bits and Evil update installed
One word: impressive.
- it feels like the game was just made for 3D. The intro blew me literally away - fans ran hot...
- one minor thing is the convergence of the zoom, if it might be possible to include some extra convergence setting for it, this would be a dream-
Can't wait for the fix for MGSV.
Very good job!

Absolutely amazing !!!
Agreed mrorange55 the intro is really something, it made me absolutely breathless !!
Also absorbing gameplay with extremely beautifull Graphics i real 3D, and it runs so smoooooth..
Now I'm happy that I never played these games in the first time..
I cant thank you enough Guys !

Just upload an update:
- Improve lensflares (twaek a little more)
- Now when you use the Visor (any value of the zoom) you will get a very high convergence value...looks very nice!
**edit: see your screenshots...press "P" to recommended convergence value (Snake is in 2D) and the game looks amazing. Press "O" key for cinematics.

I found this code. I actually want the convergence to be low that I can see through the visor (by pressing F) easily. What do I have to change in this case?
[KeyKeyboardVisor]
Key = F
transition = 150
transition_type = cosine
release_transition = 200
release_transition_type = cosine
type = hold
convergence = 75
y = 0.005
Do you mean when you aim?
imo with the gameplay convergence (recommended) is not needed.....you can add in the key override section of the d3dx.ini
I only add the bind to the visor: XB_RIGHT_SHOULDER and "F" key. There are the default keymapping.
If you change the keymapping you have to edit the d3dx.ini
**edit: change this line convergence = 75 to the convergence wanted value, try with 1.5

I have downloaded the fix again and also tried all hook types posted here. None worked. These two:
hook=deferred_contexts except_set_shader_resources
hook=deferred_contexts
Make the game start, but it freezes after two or three seconds, after the loading circle stops suddenly. With the other modes, the game doesn't even start.
Maybe I need new drivers (I'm at 358.50), or to not use custom settings (I unpacked, tweaked and repacked the files for higher FoV and settings. This always worked in 2D)?

I'm on Win 10 and cant get the game to start with any of the .ini tweaks. I hope I don't have to go back to win7, as I just upgraded :(
Great job. 3D is looking mighty fine.
hm... convergence with 1.5 is not reducing it... weird... I attached you a picture, so you know want I mean.

Nice, I didn't realize there was a solution for this game, I do not see where it would matter unless you changed the camera angles, in which case some of DHRs fixes might not display correctly. But I couldn't imagine it preventing the game from starting.

Also for those interested, there's an unpacker available for a lot of older games that I used on The Walking Dead Survival Instinct yesterday to change the FOV. While Dragon unpacker unpacked it, I needed to use a special packer for the game that was made for Bloodrayne.

So actually, what I mean is the first-person view you get, when you press down the right mouse button for aiming and then change to first person view with the weapon. I think it is by default hold "F". I changed it now for me on a special key on my mouse ("I" in my case) in order to avoid mixing it up with the binoculars. I guess to change the convergence for this, we need an ini-element in the sense of "press right mouse button + "variable button". I hope it is a bit more clear now. It's kind of confusing console button mapping. ;)
I thought about sth like this. I don't now if you can simply write a "+"...
[KeyKeyboardVisor]
Key = RBUTTON + I
transition = 150
transition_type = cosine
release_transition = 200
release_transition_type = cosine
type = hold
convergence = 0.5
y = 0.005
