It's a bug with any indoor area - prison,tavern,etc.

I only had very minor issues in the 'sewer' like area at the start. Companies wonder why people pirate when they release games that large number of people have troubles running despite having more then adequate hardware.

It will happen again once you get to Act 1 and enter the tavern. It's really got to be a driver bug and hopefully Andrew will see the thread about it. I have never seen a game where the indoor environments ran a lot worse than the outdoor ones with 3D Vision. Oh well, hope it gets fixed fast.

I recently bought a 3D Vision kit and monitor specifically to play The Witcher 2 in 3D, when it came out, so naturally I've been very interested in how it performs. At first, I was disappointed with the performance which was around 15 FPS in 3D with 1920*1080 resolution, using the new beta driver on a GTX 460 768M @ 890/1780/1950 clocks, Intel Core2 Quad @ 3 GHz, Win7 64-bit, 8 GB RAM.
However, I have now found a decent balance between performance and graphics quality that gives me 20-30 FPS in the outdoor areas of the prologue, with stunningly beautiful graphics and almost no 3D errors (the only error so far being the poster outside the tent, when being clicked on).
I use the default high setting, turning AA and SSAO off, as both decrease the frame rates significantly. I have tried turning all other settings off/down to min, and decreasing screen resolution, but that has almost no impact on FPS.
Right now, I hope NVIDIA and CDPR will continue to optimize the drivers and the game, as it should be possible to play with 30+ FPS in all areas of the game in 3D to fully enjoy it. The current state of the game makes it barely playable in 3D, but should NVIDIA and CDPR manage to optimize it further, then I would recommend everyone who enjoys The Witcher 2 to try it in 3D Vision as it lifts it to a higher state of gaming experience.

First I have to say that playing this game in 3d looks fantastic. Now if they would fix the drivers (not these crap new beta's) so it is actually playable in 3d that would be nice. Why is it so hard to have decent drivers ready when a new game is released. This is one of the few PC only titles this year, making it highly anticipated in the PC gaming community. You would think that Nvidia would have had better drivers ready, it's stuff like this that makes thier products look like crap. I am running 580's in sli and the wild swings in framerate/GPU usage, especially indoors, should not be occuring and points directly to a driver issue. Looks like I will be setting this game aside until some better drivers come out. Same thing happend with Dragon Age 2, utterly crap Nvidia drivers on release and then they come out with new drivers a couple of weeks later solving the horrid framerate issues. Unfortunatly this game and the drivers were not ready for prime time.

Suffering the same issues as a lot of people here. The outdoor zones run with really high framerates but the indoor zones can get a bit laggy. I'm probably not suffering it as severe as some -
Intel I7 930
GTX 480
6GB DDR3
Noticed a couple of bugged out 'puddles' on the 3D where the puddle and its surrounding textures were raised off the ground like they were floating, most of them were fine, and I only really noticed it right at the start of the game at the camp so far. The developer has put some decent effort into making this 3D compatible - it shows - the floating subtitle text above NPC's heads for their dialogue is correctly rendered at the depth of the npc itself, for example, this is something most games fault with, its little things like that which really shine on 3D. I haven't had any problems navigating menu's etc, other than the mentioned FPS issue, the only other issue is the convergence occasionally is a bit too extreme for me, like if Geralt is too close to the camera (small corridor for example) the convergence can be a bit of a strain, although saying that, its better to have some convergence than the 0 convergence most games seem to use...

Terrible buggy drivers released for this game. 275.27 game starts ok but after 10mins frames rates drop to about 10 but when I save and restart game FPS jumps up to around 30 for the exact same area. Anyone elsse experienced this. When can we expect the next release of drivers I really dont want to ruin my game play experience. No differance in FPS when 3dVision is on or off??????
I really hate getting the latest games only to have to wait a few months for someone to bloody fix the thing.

Interesting... It seems that in may indoor scenes my GTX 590 drops from 705Mhz core to 505-405Mhz (like is being used in generic Windows applications) Because of this I get about 5-10FPS. Not to mention the GPU utilization of 25-30% avg... These drivers really are not optimized for this game...(Install MSI Afterburner and enable OSD to get live readings) Anyone tested the game with WHQL Drivers? Any difference?

It will happen again once you get to Act 1 and enter the tavern. It's really got to be a driver bug and hopefully Andrew will see the thread about it. I have never seen a game where the indoor environments ran a lot worse than the outdoor ones with 3D Vision. Oh well, hope it gets fixed fast.

GTX 480
I noticed the same thing i think
This is my exemple:
And you notice this a lot of more when 3D Vision is actived.
By the way its again out of the topic but i bet this can help PC player to more enjoy The Witcher 2
Like me if you want to inverse your mouse axis or your controler pad ( Invert X or Y or both)
I found this here a solution: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/no_inverted_mouse
I play with XBOX 360 pad and now my Y axe on right pad is inversed :3
This work for mouse too
