Hey guys. I'm a pro cg artist working in computer games and visual effects industry as 3d artist, and an avid gamer too! As soon as i saw reviews about this, it caught my attention.
Now i already went through some threads and saw people's happy reactions towards its gaming performance.
But i would like to know does this technology works with 3d modeling softwares like Maya, 3dsmax, ZBrush and Mudbox?? As i am keen in buying this mainly for my work use.
Can i be able to see stereographic version of the 3d modeling that i do in my softwares, just like it does for games? As when i model and spin the character in my software, its all realtime and OpenGL based, so i am assuming it should work. Though these are just my assumptions.
I would really appreciate if someone has tested this tech in any of 3d softwares i mentioned above, and that it worked. If it did, i'm going to order right away :)
Ooh and lastly will it work with a laptop? which i use for most of my work and games. Here's the config...
Toshiba Qosmio X300
Windows Vista Intel Core2 Duo
RAM: 4 GB
Graphics Card: NVidia GeForce 9800M GTX
Thanks for such beautiful device /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

PS: If someone from NVidia too can shed some light on this, would be just great!

I'm not familiar with the apps you mentioned, but 3d Vision doesn't currently work with OpenGL based games/apps. Stay tuned for future driver updates, though.....

I am an animator and I use maya on a regular basis but I have never gotten it to work with 3d vision. Also I'm almost certain that you can't use 3d vision with any laptops. I do believe there is a way to use 3d vision with Maya but I think you have to have a real workstation card such as the quadro fx series.
