New driver: 320.49 beta
  1 / 2
Have at it (at your own risk) A number of 3d vision fixes here. Nothing major, but nice to see. Some affecting individual games, others affecting general problems (might even help a few people having trouble in these forums, though there's no guarantees) http://www.nvidia.com/object/win8-win7-winvista-64bit-320.49-beta-driver.html

Oh, wow. Im pretty impressed. Compatibility fixes. Starcraft 2 SLI[I ran into it]/ etc. Anyone got the geforce experience patch note for profiles? So we dont have to dl that "thing"? EDIT: hahahahha
Shadowplay wasn't quite ready and got bumped back a bit, but it will be out soon. Sorry for the delay.
Seriously doing this all this stuff during the release of major card series is just giving us disease ridden drivers. I was 90% sure it was gonna get delayed. Well another few weeks till I can download drivers again.

lol, I started a thread and spent too much time reading the patch notes before posting it. I guess there is no way to delete it. Looks like a decent driver, ManuelG replied to a user that a WQHL version could be soon. Try at your own risk........ While not officially released yet, it seems that Guru3D has got a hold of the nVIDIA Desktop 325.71 WHQL driver which is currently only available to Microsoft internally for certification? Anyhow, you can download it from them. http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=379843 Edit: it seems some of the links listed by the OP lead to shitty download sites that require a survey and stuff to get the driver. Post 15 claims that you can download them from Microsoft directly.

Those 325.71 ones seem to be a lot older, and probably don't fix some of the issues people were having with 320.18. I find it all very weird. I'm sticking to officially sanctioned ones for now

HAHAHAHAH X 2 [Falls over laughing] http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/26/nvidia-shield-pushed-back-to-july-due-to-mechanical-issue/ And people think I'm crazy for saying they are a mess for trying to do so much at same time. So yea.... good drivers may take a while since their "hands are tied". Im curious how its going for 700 users or are they getting brunt force of it. I bought like a 600 series a month in and it just had tons of issues for like another solid month. It took them like a month and a half to admit there was micro stuttering.

Obviously you've never worked in a big company before. Missed deadlines and release dates are as successful ones, if not more. Just look at game release dates and how often they're delayed. Also, don't forget that companies are split into different department, divisions and teams. It's unlikely that the hardware engineers who are working on the Shield have anything to do with the software engineers working on the geforce drivers.

No idea what you are talking about. It doesn't surprise me, reread. I been saying that no reason to buy 700 series for at least 2 months and our drivers are going to be screwed up for that long. I probably underestimated that time frame though. Shield is hardware AND software 700 series is hardware AND software geforce experience is software drivers is software shadowplay is software I dont care how big nvidia is. Thats dumb and all planned for same period. Hardware/software have different divisions but that doesn't mean each field doesn't effect the other. Then you need people to run support, documentation[in multiple languages], quality assurance, interviews, multiple factories, conventions, etc. Hence why oversights get through, deadlines get missed, drivers are shitty, issues get missed, jobs get rushed, etc. If you think a major hardware + software addition(s) during the release of a SERIES of video cards, I dont know what to tell you.

My point is that a delayed launch is not a sign of a company taking on too much. It's a common occurrence for most companies. It means nothing, one way or the other. Compared to many other companies (Valve, Google, Samsung, Apple, Sony, for example) Nvidia are actually pretty conservative in what pies they stick their fingers into

Heres a question to do with nvidia sponsoring games. Metro Last Light, how did it run? Did it have right sli flags at release? Does it have unexplained widespread micro stuttering? When was the last game that was sponsored before Metro? Then before that? http://www.geforce.com/games-applications?keys=&sort_bef_combine=%20&sort_order=&sort_by=&page=1 [Call of duty doesn't count nor does UE3 since its built in] People are asking where the 3d vision games are, there you go. As D-man pointed out the person in charge of 3d vision is also in charge of shield/grid.

I know you care deeply about TWIMTBP, but I think you've gotten yourself pretty sidetracked here. Launched delays are very normal, across most industries and most companies. That's all I'm saying. Extrapolate the hell out of this Shield delay to back up your theories if you like, but I'm not biting.

I mostly agree with you Volnaiskra, but there's normal shipment delays and project overruns, and then there are incredible face plants. I mean really, announcing a delay one day before shipping? Really?

Yeah, ok, I guess it is quite a gaffe. I'm actually planning on getting a Shield eventually (particularly for casual gaming lying on the couch, streaming from my PC), but I read that it'll take a while to come to Australia. So I guess I didn't really care about the initial release date anyway. So maybe that's why I didn't see the big deal. But for people all ready to go to the store and buy one tomorrow, the last-minute delay would have been very annoying, I guess.

Not trying to defend nvidia here, but it is a mechanical issue, so it might have taken an extended period of use for the fault to manifest, like pissweak trigger mounting pins.
