Hmm, I randomly stumbled across this thread while searching G-Sync, lol
Anyways, perhaps it might lead to something

@Pauldusler Great your Cinegrey 5D will arrive and eagerly waiting your feedback on the material, especially viewing angles :)
Yah last time I checked Amazon, most of the DLP glasses were not of the best quality. I kinda regret not buying a few more glasses when I ordered from EStar America

I recommend these 3D glasses:

Yes, that's a Windows 10 exlusive feature. There are still not many games supporting it. Mainly only some AAA titles like Battlefield, Far Cry 5, Hitman or AC: Origin.
On Netflix we already find more content with HDR.

The Wave Xtra series is currently the DLP glasses I mostly use. Ghosting is minimal (however not so good as with Andoer G18) but they are not very comfortable to wear.
I also tried the Hi-Shock Black Diamond. Comfort is very good but ghosting is terrible. You always have to look exactly straight forward to the screen. If you turn the head a little bit to the left or right you see a lot of ghosting in the area of the edges. In high contrast scenarios even when looking straight forward there is always too much ghosting (e.g. Dead Space 2, Outast...). Even 3D Vision glasses / 3D monitors do not have so much ghosting like the Hi-Shock Black diamonds. Therefore in my FAQ I've listed them under "Not recommended".

It is possible to put more short-throw lens on Optoma UHD40? Because native screen very small from 3.5 meters distance. I have a screen (white wall) 6 meters wide.

4K3D on passive LG OLED 4K TV 65C6V, GTX 1080 Ti, Win 8.1 64 Pro, i7-7700, 3D-Vision 2 on Benq LW61-LED PJ. HTC Vive. Panasonic Z-10000 3D Camcorder
Thanks for the information on HDR pauldusler.
I think there is not a possible for another lens placement withing the optoma.
It is indeed not that "short" trow as a benq1070.
Think for 6 meters you need almost 5 meters of distance
Got here about 4,5 meter distance for 3,5 meter screen "roughly"

Hi Frank,
Do you mean 3,50m diagonal? Or the width? But even 3,50m diagonal are pretty large. Btw I've received my Cinegrey 5D. For people interested: When ordering it from B&H shop it finally costs 240€ (shipping to Germany / taxes / duty included).
Today I've bought everything I needed to build the frame. This was additional 80€. So finally 320€ in the end. Tomorrow I'll start building the frame - hopefully I won't fail xD. It will be 120" visible screen size + 4cm at the edges for the masking. The Cinegrey 5D has some indentations - I hope they'll disappear when it's installed. At least the manual says so.

Increasing color saturation:
For RGB color mode you cannot set color saturation in projector OSD menu.
However you can still set color saturation easily via Nvidia Control Panel. So if you want a more colorful look please follow these instructions:
Open Nvidia Control Panel (right click desktop / Nvidia Control Panel)
Go to "Adjust desktop color settings" and set "Digital vibrance" to a value higher than 50% to have a more saturated look. My favorite value is 66%.
[/quote]
If you want to gain the ability to control color with the projector, you can also set the color output to
YCbCr444 instead of RGB. This puts the options for color and tint back in the image settings.
Pretty impressed with the image quality with this projector in 3D, been waiting a long time for something like this.

I also posted a review on Optoma's website for the UHD51A (I was surprised they approved it). I mentioned that the projector was great, but had a serious drawback for 3D gamers with the exclusion of frame sequential.

In the meantime I've built a frame and installed the Cinegrey5D on it - that worked very well and the screen looked perfect planar.
But when testing it I recognized that the screen has an extreme hotspot. This means that the picture is very bright in the center and very dark at the edges of the screen. I knew that this material has some kind of hotspot but this is really too extreme in my opinion. So I stucked the sample material (a 20cmx20cm cloth) I got earlier from the Cinegrey5D over the new screen and to my surprise: the sample material has very good results at the edges of the screen! So conclusion is: B&H shop / Elite Screens is selling fake Cinegrey5D material or at least with a huge quality failure.
Now I don't know what to do. Maybe I'll sell the Cinegrey5D at eBay. What a disappointment and waste of efforts. I completely lost my trust in Elite Screens. I'll never buy anthing from them any more. Sending the material back to B&H shop / USA would cost further 50€... no thank you. I would rather burn it if it wasn't fire proof ;).

Oh that's not good at all. The difference in brightness around edges are huge. I did quite an extensive research on Cinegrey5D material, ranging from customer reviews in Amazon and other major retailers, product reviews, and most importantly YouTube videos reviews showing Cinegrey5D in action. I was particularly interested in viewing angles coz I'll be seated close to screen so edges would be at 45 degree angles. None of the reviewers bright up this issue. A few YouTube videos particularly showed viewing angles as commenters were requesting it, and the angles seemed to be very good.
Hmm, maybe you've got a bad product, but I'm suspecting something maybe wrong with your particular set up, especially the angle of projector to screen. Is your projector ceiling mounted or table. How's the lens angle to screen. Check the following page from Elite Screens, "Material Tip" section below as it shows limitations and proper installation for Cinegrey5D:

A quick note regarding Optoma UHD50 - By accident I found a quick fix for the issue of eye reversing every few seconds.
I have a dual OS system, Windows 10 Pro and Windows 8.1. I had this issue on Windows 10. I did a clean driver install using DDU, and the issue was gone. Yesterday I tried to check it out on Windows 8.1 and I had same eye sync issue there. By accident I pressed HDMI1 button on remote which changed my input source, and had to go back to HDMI4K, and I noticed suddenly the sync issue was gone. I restarted the system and again I had eye sync issue, again I pressed another input on remote and went back to HDMI4K and issue was gone. Seems it's a quick fix if anyone encounters this.
I followed same process of clean install of new drivers with DDU and eventually the issue was gone completely.
Hope this helps anyone encountering eye sync problems.
