I believe this guy says their product is superior but I would like to see proof. Anyone can say anything both the red team and the green team claim to have the best GPUs. As many other Companies claim to have the best product.

I am a show and prove kind of person.

Plus I mean lets be realistic here... They CLAIM to have solved any sync/ghosting issues by going to a RF vs IR setup, and CLAIM they maintained sync with it on top of a N router blasting. However at what level did they maintain sync. Plus with how "crowded" the airwaves are, who is to say that something else may not cause sync issues. plus do you really want to have a radio strapped to your head?

Also, they are using the VESA slot for the transmitter? Isn't that the same one that can control those motorized wall mounts? Hope you don't have one of those if you want 3d... Although I've always thought of those as gimmicky but again being realistic here about possible problems.

Finally, if you look at the non-video link, that fact sheet posted says "removes 'geek' factor" Ummm what? I know that for a long time people have considered 3d glasses geeky, but if you're a manufacturer like they say, do you really need to add that? Let the guys who buy your product to sell to us use marketing gimmicks like that imo. If you don't have anything else to say about it besides adding that in, it makes me wonder if they are really that good.

Who knows, maybe it'll end up a great solution and nVidia will support it with their drivers. But only time will tell and it could end up being a big flop. It sounds good on paper and with his spiel, but most things do there.

One note I notice them saying that is very important, 3D-ready HDTV if you want to to use a HDTV for 3D, so be prepared to drop $3k+ for one of these TV.

It's def a good start.

Interesting Bit Cauldron's website doesn't work.

Well like all 3D news now, I feel it all marketing to sell new expensive "3D-ready" TV units.

Were you expecting much more? I mean games have notoriously been a "minority" if you will, even with how popular the 360 and PS3 are. Movies have always been more mainstream, and Avatar was/is a HUGE success, further pushing the 3d MOVIES into the home. If you saw Avatar in 3d, tell me, do you really want to watch it in 2d? That was a great example of 3d done right and really helped the movie a lot... it didn't feel gimmicky or was only in certain parts like other movies in the past.

No, the 3-pin VESA port is a standard, it's what Mits and Samsung 3D-Ready displays have on the back of them. It's the same thing used by nvidia 3D Vision to connect the emitter to DLPs.

Bit Cauldron isn't ATi's answer to the nvidia glasses, they are a third party company.

The bit Cauldron glasses have one significant advantage : since they can connect through a Vesa 3D sync connector directly to the display, they are compatible with every source. whether they are a Bluray player, a console, a DVR, a satellite decoder or whatever. Whereas the nvidia glasses only work with a PC with nvidia approved hardware.

The tricky part is for displays that don't have this Vesa 3D sync port (typically, CRT monitors and currently available 120Hz monitors) which require external sync through the image source.
Nvidia could support these glasses as well in it's driver if it provides a sync API for the bit cauldron usb emitter : which is exactly what ATi will provide for it's cards according to the interview.
But ATi will only provide the sync, not the transform driver to turn 2D games into 3D, this has to be done by the game developers themselves or by third party 3D drivers like iZ3D's and Tridef's.

The airwaves aren't crowded, there is A LOT of free space available for short distance low power transmission, and there will be even more space when the analog TV emitters will be freed thanks to the switch to digital TV.

Also there is no problem with such small distance devices. All game consoles now come with wireless radio controllers which you hold most of the time so close to "your precious parts". More and more people use wireless bluetooth heaphones to connect to their cell phones too.
Small distance transmissions don't have the same issues as cell phone transmission which have to cover long distances and pierce through concrete walls.
