The solution is to wait, I write a single email once a week to nvidia to hurry up the bug fix.[/quote]We had a different thread about the differences and problems with Win8.1, and I did some research that indicates that 8.1 is not in fact faster than even Win7 for gaming. I'm sure Win8 and 8.1 would have very similar BF4 performance. Best of luck. I don't like your chances of a quick fix (it's been a known issue for a long time already), but if this issue is resolved please let us know.

Not that there will be 8.1 support for much longer anyway, MS is forcing ppl on 8.1 to install a new service pack (Windows 8.1 Update, I think they have australians in their naming dept) if they want security patches, while continuing windows 8 patches. I miss MSDOS 3. The fight to get both mouse drivers and soundcard drivers into upper memory became a competition for me and my mates, seeing who could get the largest pool of free memory in the 640k program usable area.

Makes sense. Though I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that fix. 3Dvision is seriously very low priority for Nvidia, and if they took forever to fix this, it wouldn't be the first time. Maybe a dual-boot scenario might be a good option to consider.

So I took Kolreth's advice and tried the Force Alternate Frame Rendering 2. I had to downgrade from win 8.1 to 8.0 and it was worth it. Tombraider was a game i played through in 3D with pretty ordinary frame rates, despite the 660 SLI setup I was running. But now, i havent really seen a drop below 40. Which is WAY better than my original playthrough. Playing through tombraider in 3D with an acceptable FPS is worth the time and effort it took to downgrade. This game is sensational in 3D. Thanks Kolreth. You're awesome

Did you try switching the vsync on and off like a couple others had to do? I had to do that every time i loaded and sometimes after loading levels, but it was the difference between a stuttery mess and buttery, silky smooth. Note: The graphics drivers must between switching modes (i assume thats what its doing when it blacks out the screen for a long while) otherwise it wouldn't work.
