Any one know how to use 3d vision with quadro fx 1800 or quadro fx 580?
I cant view 3D with my quadro fx 1800 correctly, my 3d vision glasses in left eye is black (shutter on) at all times.
(3D vision driver: v1.11(190.62) and also v1.12(191.03) , OS: Vista and XP)
I found that the below page said about "VBIOS update may be required, contact your provider." in nvidia homepage.

I bought a Dell Precision T3500 with quadro FX1800, but the support center said no firmware for this video card.
But i know hp will release this firmware soon.

Hello Solidview
Just flashed a lenovo quadro fx 580 with a hp vbios.
3d vision works fine now (xp 32 and 64).
After finding the updated vbios in a hp softpack ,it was also available on softpedia....
You need a Dos bootable media,i used a usb stick.
I used nvflash to first backup the original vbios.
i used nibitor just to check the old and the new vbios ,both are nvidia signed .
Then just flashed the new vbios with nvflash.
It is the Video BIOS, but it seems that there are bioses with the same version number, but one with the fix for stereo 3d and the other without. I also had the same problem with FX580 and FX1800 Quadros from PNY, but the FX4800 should not have the VBIOS issue like these two models.

I got the same problem as reported by SolidView and am curious if someone found a solution to this issue.
I'm using an hp quadro fx 1800 plugged into a standard desktop pc running on Windows Vista 32 bit and updated it to Bios V 62.94.90.00.0D . Settings in Nvidia control panel are as supposed to be. Unfortunately, after browsing the internet, I encountered one version only of the hp vbios update. Its docs didn't in particular report to fix any problems regarding OpenGL quad buffered stereo.
@Bloody: to which card does your remark apply, to the 580 or the 1800? If the latter is true, could you please point me to a version of the vbios update that you think solves this issue?
@SolidView: have you eventually been able to get GL active stereo to work with the 1800 fx? If so, how?

HypnoticSpecter, please download and run GPU-Z: http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/1709/...U-Z_v0.3.8.html
And post a screenshot of the main screen here with the details about your Quadro card...
I just purchased a quadro fx580 combined with an Acer 245HQ monitor. My nvidia 3d vision glasses start shuttering whenever a quad buffered openGL application is started, but the screen suffers from terrible ghosting. In XP there is some stuttering as if the videocard and the monitor can not maintain their synchronization. I see the double image with every few seconds a sort of glitch. Then I tried Windows7. It doesn't have the glitches but the ghosting is as bad as in Xp. It's like wearing the glasses gives the same double image as wearing no glasses.
Do you think this will be solved with the HP VBios update?

Which driver are you using? I always experience the exact same symptoms whenever I install the latest Quadro driver (currently at 191.87). I always end up going back to the 190.58 OpenGL driver, served at the bottom of the OpenGL 3.x page (link here). I'm also using the 190.62 3D Vision driver and things are working well (see sig for particulars). Is this a work PC or your own? I ask because, at work where I use this for viewing stereo aerial photography, I get different results depending on whether I'm logged in as a regular user or as an administrator, and that seems very odd to me. I get no flickering in my regular login but there is excessive separation of the stereo frames. When watching the "Fly Me To The Moon" 3D clip (referenced by Bloody here), I can not fuse the end credits and the 3D effect suffers throughout the clip. However, viewing this same clip (with the Stereoscopic Player from 3dtv.at) from my admin login, all frames are perfectly registered and the end credits are perfectly fused. The difference is not subtle and the 3D effect is excellent. I've seen this flickering/synching on other setups as well (we have six of the Samsungs, and I've seen similarly affected 120Hz monitors that have started replacing some the Planar stereo monitors at GIS conferences). Perhaps other Quadros aren't so afflicted but I had this happen with the FX 3700 and 3800 cards.
I can't speak for the vbios update but installing this driver has always worked for me and it might solve your problems too.
Which driver are you using?
Hello Lars, thanks for your recommendations. I work with the latest driver 191.87. I just tested the version you mentioned and get exactly the same results. I tried to install the 190.62 USB driver but is was only for Vista/Windows7, so I sticked with 191.00 for XP.
What I find very stange is this:
at 120Hz I seem to get an unstable image. Even without glasses I can see the display flikker every 2 seconds. Like the monitor can not take the signal or the videocard just doesn't flip left/right pages correctly.
at 110Hz the display is stable, however the synchronization with the glasses seems wrong. Is just drifts all the time. So for a second I see good 3D, then I see doubled images, then I see inverted 3D, doubled again, good 3D again ... and so on ... like the glasses are on 120Hz and the monitor is on 110.
The BIOS version of my PNY Quadro FX 580 card is 62.94.96.00.08 which seems newerthan the HP vbios update that bigben used.
I'm lost here /yucky.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':yucky:' /> .. anyone?

I will try to test it recently. a little busy for testing the suitable video card recently.
I found that not only Quadro FX 1800 and Quadro FX 580.
And also Quadro FX 4800. (vbios version : 62.00.25.01.02 )
but this problem will settle after Quadro FX 4800 (vbios version : 62.00.3A.00.02 ).
a little afraid about if crash when update the firmware to video card.
Can you tell me which version of vbios you using for your Quadro FX 580?
My bad Quadro FX 580 version is 62.94.66.00.11 .
thanks.

Today found one more problem.
I said i found that Quadro FX 4800(vbios version : 62.00.25.01.02 ) cant use 3d vision. (Shutter of one eyes is close)
But i found same version vbios version can support 3d vision today.
This two vbios version is same. But dont know why 1 is ok and 2 is NG.
(1)Dell T5500 with Quadro FX 4800(Windows XP 64Bit) = NG
(2)Dell T3500 with Quadro FX 4800(Windows Vista 32Bit) = OK
I change (1) video card to other PC(Dell T3500), but still NG. (WindowsXP 32Bit and Windows 7 64Bit)
When i use Quadro FX 570 to (1) PC, 3D Vision is ok.
totally no idea what happen about it.
may be the problem is not only the vbios version.

If so, how?
Kind regards!

Thanks for any help!

I'm lost here
