I agree there is no CPU fix in this driver but for future tests, it is not enough to monitor the FPS.
you need to look at the CPU usage and see if it drops when you enable 3Dvision.
To make sure your FPS is limited by the CPU you have to reduce resolution to a minimum to avoid GPU bottleneck.
PS: .53 is not the latest.

FYI to everyone considering upgrading:
Intel have just announced 8700K, a 6 core version of the 7700k.
https://newsroom.intel.com/news-releases/intel-unveils-8th-gen-intel-core-processor-family-desktop/
Unlike the recent Skylake-X 6 core CPUs which used a slower core interconnects and showed dissapointing performance, the new coffee-lakes use the same interconnects technology as the 7700k, and ought to overclock to just about 7700k levels but of course have more CPU cores at the same time.
Likely there won't be any significant 3D vision gaming difference due to the CPU bottleneck bug, but for what it's worth, as of today, I would like to change my recommendation to purchasing a 8700k, de-lidding, and overclocking for max 3D vision performance now and in the future (if the CPU bug ever gets fixed), or even generally non 3D vision gaming and semi-professional uses.
Thank goodness for Ryzen or this would likely have never seen daylight anytime soon :)
Now the wait continues for Ryzen 2, Ice lake, and then Tiger lake...

Any opinion on whether it would be worthwhile to upgrade from a 6600K to 7700K? I can hit 4.6Ghz without any difficulty, and probably up to 4.8 if I really put some time and effort into my OC. General consensus on the internet is that it's not a worthwhile upgrade for regular 2D gaming, but what about in 3D with our current predicament?
I ask about 7700K instead of 8700K because I know my z170 mobo can be made compatible with Kabylake via bios update. Any speculation on whether Coffeelake will also be able to be made compatible due to the similar architecture, or will that likely require a new gen mobo to go along with it?

DJ-RK, it might give ~18% performance increase in single threaded - 4 threaded applications but up to 60% in apps which use multi-threading very well. 18% is more closer to the increase in 3D Vision gaming performance though.
If you can get it for a good price, then I would go for it mate. It all depends on how much you can sell the 6600k for.
Unfortunately, although the 8700k architecture is almost identical to 6700k, AFAIK, Intel have forbidden manufacturers from making their older boards compatible - they are forcing you to use their new boards.

RAGEdemon, any recommendation for a good overclock board with sli to go with the 8700
This propably my cpu, i don't know. Im going crazy with my z77 as the usbs don't Work that good anymore. And i have been waiting
Pretty long now for the 10nm and no news let us expect any MHz monster around The corner. And it would stillbe a decent upgrade to the old 2500k.
Do you think my win10 will survive motherboard and cpu upgrade without reinstalling ? I don't use it but for my apps.
No gaming with win10, im still gaming in w7

Hi Metal-O-Holic!
I upgraded from Westmere which is even older than 2600K, without needing to reinstall or even change anything in Windows 10 except the motherboard installation CD. Windows 7 might be fine too, even though not officially supported, it would depend on the drivers the motherboard manufacturer decides to include!
AFAIK, 10nm has been pushed to the end of next year, but it has been delayed 3 times already and will like be delayed even further. Going to a smaller node doesn't guarantee better performance any more - it might be slight.
I personally feel that 6c12T 8700K would be a great upgrade coming from a 4c8T 2600k.
Regarding motherboards, I used to try quite a few different brands - Gigabyte, A-bit, Biostar, nForce, etc. My last 4 or so have all been high end ASUS boards. ASUS Hero lines are great value for overclocking v features v price IMO.
My only advice would be to try and check out high end AIO/custom loop solutions (mediocre AIO are not worth it) and de-lid the CPU to get the max out of it. This beast will likely last you for the next decade, if not longer!

RAGEdemon many Thanks for you input.
Yeah i was thinking the 2 extra cores will help me Also on video edit ect.
I have a good Custom loop. My radiator is from walksvagen, pretty good :D i only should get better pump with less vibration as the eheim attends to rattle the x9 case abit.
Do you think my ek water block works with these new motherboards ?
I only have 10mm quick connect tubing but it has worked ok to date.
