I'll take a copy /w00twave.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':w00twave:' /> if Helix doesn't want it. Of course he deserves it and much more. I've got a code for Resident Evil 5 if interested.
Much thanks for the Kingdoms of Amular fix. With Helix fix and widescreen fixer, I'm playing a game that was both unplayable in 3D and unplayable in Surround in perfect 3D vision ready surround!!! Man I love the community making up for all the lazy Devs out there!! /thanks.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thanks:' /> /thanks.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thanks:' /> /thanks.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thanks:' />
So for the Darkness 2 I still need the the fix even after they said they fixed the shadows in 3D with the patch? Also, the update was supposed to add surround resolutions. (which were never truly fixed by dopefish) Anyone know if it's playable in surround resolutions now?
Again thanks to Helix we can get 3D vision ready games without Nvidia help (or interference)

sorry guys i have a little OT question but as it looks there are some skilled people here maybe you can answer me, is there a way to fake crysis 2 in order to use true stereoscopic mode instead of their native (crappy) mode that is not really 3d but is 2d+depth, as they call it at mtbs.
I know with tridef they are able to override the native support, do you think this can be done on 3dvision aswell?
The only thing crytek has done since release about this matter was to call nvidia and let them change the rating from fair to excellent without a reason and without changing anything... pffff
sadly they will not update this game anymore, so we can only hope for a DYO fix, else i'll play it in 2d.

hey lads, I got a vertex shader that is there twice, same name, same content (numbers 84 and 85). it's for a minimap, one shader is the minimap itself and the other is the icons over it. obviously I can't have two .txt files with the same name in the same folder. is there a way around that? cheers

I've updated the blog with a fix for need for speed underground! :) ..it's so old but still a fun game and I think it's nice to replay it in 3d /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
I don't know why nvidia rated it "excellent" but it was really unplayable to me..

if you rename shift2u.exe to ofdr.exe it became a lot better in 3d!
Anyway I've already started to fix it, but I'd like to know if someone is interested in the fix starting from the renamed exe, becouse starting from the original "shift2u" is a pain with a lot of shaders messed up..
if you are interested in renaming the exe and you have the origin version you could try that: (I've got the boxed one so I've not tested this)

Well, you are talking about something as simple as right-clicking and renaming the executable right? Why wouldn't I be willing to do that if it makes it playable? More power to you on fixing it. I don't have the skills to do so myself. But yeah, I'm interested in what you come up with. I have the boxed version too.

right! If you have the boxed version you can directly rename the executable so that the game uses another 3d vision profile that works a lot better than the default.. if you try that now, you can see that only minor issues remain to fix. I'll give it a try then and make you know if I can obtain something good.

Btw... It's not installed on my PC right now (since it wouldn't work in 3D before), so I won't be able to try the renaming thing right away... But if you get the remaining shaders problems to go away just post the results here and then I'll install the game and give it a go.

Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to -=HeliX=- for these fixes, especially Dead Space 1 + 2, which IMO everyone should play because they're some of the best S3D games around.

Not sure but their may either be issues with 301.10 or 680 card(not sure which one).I am having same issue as 2357minister with dungeon defenders(all three games are unreal engine 2 games, not sure if coincidence). My fix no longer works but when I take some shaders out of folder it works. I know it worked before I upgrading and I checked the files in debug and crc hasnt changed or anything. Pretty odd. Not sure what it is but may be fixed in an update.
If you have dungeon defenders and can confirm if it works for you would appreciate it.(most recent driver with a non 680 card)
update.
Ah I found a solution. For some reason. Just doing vs_3_0/ps_3_0 on new 680 or driver causes crashing. But if you just delete everything after the registers (o#) it works. Hopefully its just the driver.

paste this into any txt(that just has vs_3_0) thats in vertexshaders.

Should solve the problems. Let me know because if next update doesnt fix it I may redo all the files(at least for unreal engine games till I find out if it works for any others)

Hi,
Yesterday I installed the Helix fix for Deadspace 2 (1 of my fave games!) and it looks AMAZING!
Thanks Helix (sure you don't want a free preorder-copy of Darksiders II?)!!

I know with tridef they are able to override the native support, do you think this can be done on 3dvision aswell?
The only thing crytek has done since release about this matter was to call nvidia and let them change the rating from fair to excellent without a reason and without changing anything... pffff
sadly they will not update this game anymore, so we can only hope for a DYO fix, else i'll play it in 2d.
thanks

Anyway I've already started to fix it, but I'd like to know if someone is interested in the fix starting from the renamed exe, becouse starting from the original "shift2u" is a pain with a lot of shaders messed up..
if you are interested in renaming the exe and you have the origin version you could try that: (I've got the boxed one so I've not tested this)

Btw... It's not installed on my PC right now (since it wouldn't work in 3D before), so I won't be able to try the renaming thing right away... But if you get the remaining shaders problems to go away just post the results here and then I'll install the game and give it a go.

Should solve the problems. Let me know because if next update doesnt fix it I may redo all the files(at least for unreal engine games till I find out if it works for any others)
@2357minister
paste this into any txt(that just has vs_3_0) thats in vertexshaders.
paste this into any txt thats in pixel shaders(thats just ps_3_0)

Not sure but their may either be issues with 301.10 or 680 card(not sure which one).I am having same issue as 2357minister with dungeon defenders(all three games are unreal engine 2 games, not sure if coincidence). My fix no longer works but when I take some shaders out of folder it works. I know it worked before I upgrading and I checked the files in debug and crc hasnt changed or anything. Pretty odd. Not sure what it is but may be fixed in an update.

Cool! I have a few patients scheduled this morning so I won't be able to test it out until later. Thanks for the heads-up!!
