Any of you DLP guys have sound issues with DVI-HDMI?
Right now I only have the GTX 280, so no native HDMI. I don't have the pass through cable either, so I use computer speakers and connect the computer to the TV via a DVI-HDMI cable. The problem is that the speakers on the TV make a sound from time to time (it sounds like the "back" sound in a web browser, if that makes senses), probably because they are expecting a sound signal, since it is an HDMI cable. I have set HDMI audio to disabled in the Nvidia control panel, but it didn't seem to make any difference.
I want to get a GTX 480 almost exclusively to solve this issue (2x the power and DX11 help too lol), as I would imagine that it will include an audio chip onboard like ATI does with their cards.
Just curious if I am the only one with this issue or if it is widespread when connecting to a TV using a DVI-HDMI cable.

I have the mitsu 65635 and a gtx 260. I have connected it straight to the tv from the pc with hdmi and digital audio to the receiver for sound to begin with. Then I installed a xonar card which means i ran my vid to the audio card via hdmi, then to the tv with hdmi from the output from the xonar card. I am currently using a hdmi straight from the vid card to the tv for video, and hdmi straight to the av receiver for sound (to get dolby truhd and dts hd) and I have not experienced that issue in any setup, hope this helps.

Why didn't you keep the setup from the video card to sound card, then from sound card to receiver, then receiver to TV? Was that causing problems with TrueHD and DTS MA?

Because (in my scenario at least) 3d vision would not work because it detected my display as my a/v receiver, thus not a compatible 3d display.
