Help, please! Removed Nvidia drivers (preparation for installing CD v1.25) restarted in safe mod
I am really in need of help! I just wanted to install the newly released CD v1.25. So I removed the old Nvidia Drivers via the Windows control panel (Windows 7 64-Bit). Just as I always do and just as it is mentioned in the 3D vision manual.
Additionally I wanted to run driver sweeper before installing CD v1.25. Since you should run driver sweeper in safe mode I ignored the restart prompt after removing the old Nvidia driver and went for “msconfig†instead. Under “system start†I chose the option “Start in safe mode†(as far as I know you cannot longer initiate safe mode via F5 in Windows 7). Then I did the restart. …..but nothing happened…just a black screen. My PC seems to run the boot sequence but I don’t know for sure because I see absolutely nothing.
Last time I updated the drivers I did it the same way with no problems.
The only thing that differs from last time I did the update is the following:
After removing the old drivers I directly followed the restart prompt last time. The PC restarted, I then chose “start in safe mode†and did the restart again.
This time I thought I could save one restart and “told†my system it should directly restart in safe mode after removing the old driver (so I could run driver sweeper).

Did you try to press F8 on the startup to enter the advanced boot modes. You can try to start in normal mode instead of the save mode. Be careful with driver sweeper. Don't remove all NVidia files because they can be from the motherboerd driver (nforce)

problem fixed! I just switched to my secondary "monitor" the Acer H5360 PJ. No problem here. Since the Acer H5360 runs in 1280x720 only while my Sammy 2233rz runs in 1680x1050 it seems the problem was "resolution-related".
