2017: 1080p+ *projector* for 3DVision?

YES, It can be used with the updated Edid. I am using it in Battlefield 1 and Cod WW II and it really brings more to the table especially with Battlefield.

Wow, that's great. Now as a final question: does 3D in those TVs have a strobing (i.e. motion blur reduction) mode? If they have full mandatory 60Hz motion blur it would be a shame.

No, there is no strobbing for motion blur on LG. I think sony or Samsung implemented this for some models but this gratelly reduced brightness and this does not go well with HDR. TBH I don't see the need for it, motion is very good. It is true I never did game on a plasma Tv and forgot a long time ago how CRT was from motion POV RS422 .. I don't have Win 8.1 but if HDR works under win 8.1 it should work also with the edid.

So LG OLED55E6V ? This is a good choice you think? Gonna use for PS4 Pro and PC for 3D.. Projector above looks good too though.. not sure which would have the lowest latency.?

Necroposting my own thread. Busy holidays with moving flats!
There are no 1080p projectors that will run at 60hz per eye. These projectors can play 3D games and movies (any format, with the appropriate software).
So you mean no one on this forum can say he/she has a working instance of 3DVision on a projector with 1080p/60Hz per eye? It seems, indeed, that HDMI 1.4 projectors reach their limits there. I tried finding Displayport or DVI-D 1080p 3D projectors, but found none up to now, except mega expensive professional ones like the F35 series (https://www.barco.com/en/product/f35-series#specs) There are 4K projectors coming our way, and getting cheaper, but from what I've seen, none of them support high frame rate 3D since the TI chip itself does not. Therefore, I will reformulate my question this way: 1) Is there another 3D standard than 3DVision that could work with most Steam games and an XBox, and give 1080p 60 Hz 3D content? This could be filters, or most probably, dual projector configurations. Has anyone found a way to reliably play 3D games in 2017 (with Vulkan etc) in 1080p dual projector config? What would be the right software combo as of this writing? 2) Is there any reasonably recent (read: that you can find on Amazon) 720p 60 Hz 3D projector that someone here would have made work successfully with 3DVision? I've done the whole "official" list from Nvidia at 720p resolution, and found only replacement lamps for sale, because all this stuff is so old. 3) Is there another active glass standard (DLP Link, or other) that would give the same image quality as 3DVision? Specifically: not too smeared in light, not too dark, and no crosstalk between left and right, like 3DVision can do. Would you have an example of projector using that standard? Thanks again!

They do their own thing with 3D TVs or projectors (I know what modes they can use), and a pure 3D Vision monitor won't work. There were some PS3 and X360 games in 3D, but I don't think they reach 1080p per eye because it would be very demanding. Aside from 3D Vision, some 3D TVs, or VR, I don't know about anything that can be equal or higher than 1080p@60Hz per eye. But I don't know the capabilities of dual projectors. Someone would have to make a wrapper to stereoize shaders, like Helifax did for OpenGL.

For HDMI purposes, the 3D spec hasn't been updated since HDMI 1.4x. Outside of those specifications, HDMI always lacked the bandwidth for 1920x1080x120Hz until HDMI 2.0 came along. There is a very good chance (I hope) that this projector will support 1920x1080x120Hz which will allow us to use it in CRT mode with an EDID override and the 3d vision kit. We probably won't won't be to use itthat way with DLP glasses, not least because of the 3dtv play limitations, but 3D vision will hopefully be a real posisiblity for the first time outside of a monitor. DLP sync/glasses will probably only allow for 1280x720@120Hz or 1920x1080x24Hz as per standard 3d framepacked HDMI specs but as long as we cant get genuine 120hz input then the options are open. I'm watching this projector with huge interest. The key is what input modes it supports. It's always frustrated me that the current crop of full HD dlp projectors are all clearly interally capable of 1920x1080x120, but the HDMI interface was the bottleneck.

So you mean no one on this forum can say he/she has a working instance of 3DVision on a projector with 1080p/60Hz per eye?

It seems, indeed, that HDMI 1.4 projectors reach their limits there. I tried finding Displayport or DVI-D 1080p 3D projectors, but found none up to now, except mega expensive professional ones like the F35 series (https://www.barco.com/en/product/f35-series#specs)

There are 4K projectors coming our way, and getting cheaper, but from what I've seen, none of them support high frame rate 3D since the TI chip itself does not.

Therefore, I will reformulate my question this way:

1) Is there another 3D standard than 3DVision that could work with most Steam games and an XBox, and give 1080p 60 Hz 3D content?

Yes, they do have that working with a Geobox 401 (Demux) and twin passive projectors. Blacksharkfr has that setup I believe. Not sure if he gets 3d vision working perfectly or has to use the the AMD 3D equivalent, can't actually remember what that's called right now.. Not powervr?
