Still not back yet, but one question, does the nvidia 3d test work in the Nvidia Control Panel? What's you hardware specs, motherboard, cpu, etc., and what driver version are you using?
[/quote]
Yes the test with the flying logo works great, with only a little bit of red dots and very good 3d depth, thats the only way I know this stuff works nicely. But if I do the setup wizard, the bars along the top and lower parts are messed up with red and blue.
My rig:
Triple Core AMD Phenom 8650 2.3GHz
4 GB Patriot Ram
Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 (512MB) (2 DVI outs, 1 SVIDEO out, 0 hdmi out)
Win 7 Ultimate x64
mobo is Asus M3N78 Pro
I did a clean install of 280.26
Acer H5360
If I am in 2D 1280x720(60hz) and I switch in NvCpanel to 120hz, is it supposed to look all crazy since its still in 2D or should it be normal looking? This is just at the desktop.
My kit didnt actually come with a dvi->hdmi adaptor so I'm just using the one I've had. I dont know if all DVI is "dual-link" but I thought maybe I had the wrong one.
Also not sure if I am supposed to use the "DLP Sync" plug or not.
I'm currently not using it.
Your upper right box says the same as mine so thats good news, I'm about to go cable hunting in the closet then maybe the store.

Sorry, I meant I wasnt in any games or full screen applications I was merely "at the desktop" in the Control Panel.
The craziness is just like what one would expect changing Hz on a monitor that doesnt support it (blue vertical lines all over the screen) That happens also If I alt tab out to the desktop while in 3dvision mode.
My adaptor has 6 less pins.
I just pulled it out and looked @ it and its missing 2 of the middle rows(6 pins).
Its one of those Monster brand gold ones, but its definitely different than yours.
I'm guessing this is what it is now. That would be cool if all I need is a new adaptor.

Ya, try a cheap adapter first. Makes sense and should work. Glad I could help, so far! the 5360 is great, I use Cyberlinks current Ultra for 3d bluray. Unbelievable.

K, so I went and got the only dvi->hdmi they had @ frys with all 24 pins, no luck.
So now I'm looking @ my hdmi cable box and I see it is 1.3b (@ 25') and I hear alot about the 1.3b not being able to handle the bandwidth. I'm going to dig up a short vga cable, move stuff closer and see if I cant get it to work with all my other cables (short hdmi and vga). Its still the same issue, screen goes wonky when switching to anything using 120hz, some things work a bit, but with serious issues(setup wizard, 3d photo and video players and games (I tried Rusty Hearts on it last night with same results(dont laugh its way cooler game than it sounds lol))
edit: One thing I really cant figure out, that is present in all these scenarios is the video mode switching from 1280x720 -> 1281x720 and back randomly, its like its getting two signals 1 pixel off eh? wierd stuff all in all. hopefully a str8 dvi->vga with do the trick simply.

Ya, it's worth testing the vga and shorter cables. I don't understand where you are seeing the 1281X720, "switching". Are you getting something that displays 1281? Anyone you know/friends have a NV certified 120hz monitor you can test this on?

Its in the resolution display that pops up (from projector). The same box in upper right where the Hz shows up.
In 3D @ 120hz it will randomly and intermittently lose signal(i think) it then goes to Acer logo screen (where it cycles the sources) for about a second, comes back @ 1281x720 120Hz, then its keeps doing that back(1280) and forth(1281). Sometimes, it will start doing it so fast, all you can see is the "Signal Processing" box flickering on and off with the Acer logo. I've been able to make it stop that (for a few moments) by moving the mouse to look away from whatever I was looking at in the game, but it still happens a few moments later. Its like the projector goes crazy and starts swapping between 2 resolutions super fast. Blip..wait..Picture...blip..wait..picture..repeat. lol it sucks.
