I always have my games at 100% depth (for some reason 95% isnt 3D enough it has to be 100%)
BUT
GTA4, though it look truly amazing (heli over LC is unbelievable) has issues with close objects. I read in a thread here that convergence can sort it out (and lowering convergence did) but for some reason the 3D depth seemed less.
I dont know if it is my eyes just adjusting to 3D or if the convergence does lesson 3D depth - adjusting the convergence happened so gradually I couldnt tell. I tried it many times.
I would be very grateful if someone would point me to a thread which discusses the above.

I don't really understand how it all works either yet, but I notice the same thing, as I move the convergence plane towards the screen, you seem to get less depth. However when you move it away, while you get more depth anything close to the camera seems to look strangely small, like for instance in GTA4 the cars look like little toys, and it can means your eyes can't focus on very close objects. I don't really know where convergence is supposed to be set, but I usually set it quite close to get rid of the miniature effect and just deal with less depth effect. In GTA I set the convergence roughly on Nikos head. In an FPS game I set it on the gun in my hand.
You can get some very strange and amazing effects by moving convergence away though.
I think convergnce is the equivalent of the focus point (focal length) of your vision, but unlike our eyes it doesn't adjust in real time. The iZ3D system has an auto focus system which adjusts the convergence to the depth of whatever you are looking at.

Yes playing with convergence is essential in almost every game if you ask me. I have a hard time explaining in english since it's my 2nd language so i'll make it simple. Click the link at the bottom of my sig.
Oh and btw you will get some serious eyestrain if you play all games with 100% depth. You can get better or similar result with the proper setting. Like making things seem closer to you than when they are at glass level.

That is a useful link - thanks
How do you set the "zero point" (Natural point) so that I can get it is mid way like your guide recommends? Do I just play with the convergence setting to do that? If so it doesnt really pop out of the screen it just doubles the object. Am I doing something wrong?

If it double it's because you either use too much depth or the convergence line (neutral point) is set to high. You need to balance it to fit your preferable need depending of the games. In general if you want real good popout you need to sacrifice the depth a lot. Like 15% depth.

Forgive my noobness but how do you set the convergence line? Does adjusting convergence with Ctrl F5 and F6 (the settings to adjust convergence on my setup) do this?
Also, I read people setting convergence to 30% how do you get the percentage?

Yes you adjust the convergence with Ctrl f5 and f6 but first you need to enable this in the nvidia control panel, 3d stereo setting and then define shortcut key or something like that (mine is in french). But there's no % for the convergence...only depth.
Try making your adjustment and testing using a vertical line in your game and you will find that at some some point the line converge. I can see ppl setting the convergence line at 30% of the screen starting from the above. In rare case you will be able to set it in the middle of the screen unless you use like 5% or 10% depth.
