Can it be a hassle? Most definitely. If you value simplicity and "just works" you are much better off with a console.
Or maybe you should stop making 3D fixes because of people like me complaining?
It's statements like this is why I got turned off from this forums after asking simple questions.
Sorry, just because your fixes requires old drivers, Windows 7, file edits, etc.. etc.. doesn't mean users who consider this a hassle should be console gamers. Matter of fact, if you can't migrate to the modern era with Windows 10, DX12, etc... why even bother? I game at 4k on Windows 10 with modern hardware because THAT'S what PC gaming calls for.
Well, I have no idea why you are here trying to tell us 3D gamers we are doing it wrong. If you are enjoying your setup, I don't understand why you feel the need to take time to tell us how stupid we are.
My comment about console gaming is a simple statement of fact. For anyone who prefers simplicity, console gaming is the clear and obvious choice. There is NO PC gaming that is trouble free.
The tradeoff for PC gaming is that we get to do whatever we want, and not be limited by some stupid corporate dictatorship. If you prefer to do what the corporate authorities will allow, then knock yourself out. I want to do what I want to do, not what I'm allowed to do.
Saying that PC gaming is only about Windows 10, DX12, and 4K is extremely narrow minded. That is not at all what PC gaming is about. It's about freedom. Freedom to set up and play however we like, not limited to current corporate goals.
PC gaming is much, much bigger than the current marketing push. It's the freedom to play old stuff, the freedom to mod games, the freedom to make 3D fixes for games that never expected it, the freedom to play in 4K, the freedom to run dual projector setups. Anything goes, not some narrow definition.
Right at the moment, there is no restriction on playing 3D games in Windows 10. There are some glitches and more things to figure out, but it's on rough parity with Windows 7. This is exactly what I said earlier, which was that it was too early to adopt Windows 10. We are almost a year into it, and it's no longer substantially different. 3Dmigoto and HelixMod both run in Windows 10. On the other hand, there is no benefit either. Windows 10 has literally nothing to offer PC gaming.
DX12 is ridiculous, and I sincerely hope it dies an early death. There are only a small handful of games using it right now- all with major restrictions on what you are allowed to do. It's about control, not about performance. There is no performance advantage with DX12 on NVidia hardware.

Well, for now that's coincidence (Windows UWP games), but Deus Ex Mankind Divided will use it, and I suppose more games in the future. I don't know if it will have a DX11 version. I fear for its 3D fate :( , unless someone develops a DX12 tool like 3Dmigoto or the game has DX11.

I wouldn't worry too much yet. No game developer can afford to skip 40% of the market (Windows 7 users). They need to have a fallback DX11 path.
I expect to see more games have an alternate rendering path like we saw with DX11 options on DX9 games. It's highly unlikely to be an all or nothing approach.
Again though- what is the point? If there isn't a performance advantage, then why bother? There IS a performance bump for AMD cards, so that is probably enough reason to develop the DX12 path, especially for consoles. But for us on NVidia, I can't see anything compelling.

3D Vision with DX12 doesn't work I have a number of tickets with NVidia all unanswered.
TombRaider with DX12 selected in menu with 3D vision enabled your framerate drops 1fps the same with Gears of War both are DX12 games.

With all due respect to you and Mike, when is that answer dated?
The fix we released was like 2 years ago.
Currently it works JUST FINE under Windows 7/Windows 10 in all possible configurations (single GPU, SLI, 3D Vision, 3D Vision Surround) - Latest drivers as well. No hassle, just copy-pasting some files.
You can use edid overrides for a number of 4K TV's out there that allows you to play games in 4K with 3D Vision.
I don't understand what the big commotion is about. You don't like what we do OK. Don't use them and move on.

Why, because I think your fixes have become garbage and archaic? How about you "trow" your fixes away if you don't like comments from users like myself?

Coming here and telling us that we should stop developing fixes is wrong, my friend. You don't pay for our fixes, we don't ask anything in return. We do it for ourselves and also share it with others so they might enjoy it as well (if they are capable of - which clearly not everyone is).
But, thank you for your feedback is noted and remembered.

@zig11727:
I have tested 3D Vision with DX12 on ROTTR a while ago and it seemed to work fine. Now fine translates in it working, the FPS drop was big from 50FPS in 3D Surround to around 30FPS in 3D Surround in Main Screen.
I could start a game as well (can't remember the FPS) but BEFORE [s]during [/s]the loading screens I had to disable 3D Vision otherwise it would drop to 1FPS. This also appears in DX11 (the FPS drop) so I think is something wrong with the engine/driver/combination of both. (But once in-game I enabled 3D Vision again and things were normal).
Did you encounter anything like this?

I believe one key issue is really driving Exposed123's 3D frustrations - NVIDIA really needs to update 3DTV Play to fully support modern display technology, especially HDMI 2.0! Things like EDID mods may be too complex for some users - and these types of patches should not be required to do what 3DTV Play really should be doing...

You are in safe position because you can always switch that off and play in normal 3D. Some games work properly in SLI as I heard so you can always test it out. I think GTAV was one of them.
Anyway - the problem was with picture synchronisation. It had strange de-sync in one of eyes which been making you feel sick. Worse then any of the ones you`ve seen before. Some games had it and others were perfect. That was only when SLI was in action. In single GPU everything worked fine (I`m on one 980ti at the moment and Win10).
Also some early screens had visible vertical line. Something like vertical matrix been split between two different sectors where you had one active and other one, lets say no so much.
New screen have none of that as far as I know and I can imagine you won`t be going for used Monitor.
I had two of them switched from early one to the new model and got it sorted. You have to make sure that you buying proper version - the one that supports 3D Vision. Shortly after they released new model with new panel which didn`t support 3D Vision at all.
I thought that was fixed in drivers, but I could be wrong.

I hope it was but it looks like no one been brave enough (loaded) to buy another card to test it out. I stack in safe zone and I`m happy with it. Hope that our mate here will test it for Us.

OK, I bought the ROGSwift PG278Q a couple of weeks ago. I haven't had time to check it out in games yet (3D or 2D), but when I get time I can test for this.
As mentioned before, I have 980ti 2xSLI. What game would be a good one to test to see if this de-sync problem has been fixed?

GTA5
That had the problem really bad for me.
So did Streetfighter 5.
I'd suggest GTA5 simply because it has somewhat native 3dsupport out of the box.
I am not sure why you guys are feeding that troll, he is clearly deluded. 4k gaming has nothing. NOTHING on correctly supported stereoscopy fix or not. I would argue at this point after 1440p you are really getting into the realms of diminishing returns with a raw resolution increase as well but hey you don't have to use AA I guess, Yay!
I personally can't even bare to play games in 2d anymore. I have simply seen too much....

I have tested 3D Vision with DX12 on ROTTR a while ago and it seemed to work fine. Now fine translates in it working, the FPS drop was big from 50FPS in 3D Surround to around 30FPS in 3D Surround in Main Screen.
I could start a game as well (can't remember the FPS) but BEFORE
duringthe loading screens I had to disable 3D Vision otherwise it would drop to 1FPS. This also appears in DX11 (the FPS drop) so I think is something wrong with the engine/driver/combination of both. (But once in-game I enabled 3D Vision again and things were normal).Did you encounter anything like this?

Later today I will test and edit my post with the results.
I have to roll back to an earlier version the only option when selecting DX12 is side by side on another note I have to reinstall Gears of War from the Microsoft Store I will do this tonight.

I own Occulus DK2 and 3D Vision....
3D Vision is still the prettiest most immersive experience I've had thus far.
4K is just that....a higher res 2D picture, nothing more.
@Exposed123...You doing alot of yip yap here....
I guarantee you if you tried my 1440p 3D Vision heavily modded GTA5 graphics setup you would be singing a different tune.
BTW I just upgraded to Windows 10 and I still experience a flawless 3D Vision experience.
I'm using 1440p 3D Vision for GTA5 and Occulus Home/DK2/VorpX for Planetside 2....words can't explain how immersed I am.
