Ok, then give me an example for one game where the triple buffer setting makes any difference. Last time I checked, you always get a triple buffer in most games, otherwise the framerate would be locked at 30, 60 or 120 fps with discreet jumps between them.

Tweak-guides recommends turning it on - whether the game does or not.
Of course there are conditions - but for 3d , then yes usually.

some of you might find this interesting: i have two DLP 3d displays. one is a 1080p checkerboard DLP Mitsubishi. the other is a acer 5360 720p projector. im locked to 60fps per eye with the projector vsync off, however the checkerboard DLP with vsync off is not limited to 60 FPS at 1080p- in games like batman AA i have gotten way over 60 FPS with in game benchmark, but when i switch to the projector i only get 60FPS in 720P!!!

what do you all think?

Yes this has been my experience as well with Vsync.

This doesn't make any sense. If you use Vsync there's really no reason NOT to use triple buffering if its not enabled by default with Vsync, as you already get the additional input lag of Vsync as soon as you turn it on. Triple Buffering just gives you the chance of a more timely updated frame 0-16.67ms sooner than with just double buffering (frame time between 30 and 60 FPS), so if anything TB+Vsync should result in [i]less[/i] input lag than DB+Vsync.

A lot to read but you really don't need an article to tell you that triple buffering will always get a more timely mouse/input update than with double buffering when Vsync is on. With just double buffering and frames bouncing between 30 and 60, not only will you notice significant lag due to the change in framerate, but the mouse movements will seem lagged/lurchy as well and not smooth at all.

Well at least this discussion has evolved - but don't worry about triple buffer, just try standard double THEN triple. You should get slightly smoother performance with one or other.
Unless you're discussing what it does - then refer to tweakguides and tom's hardware.
