The Witcher 2 - LOW FPS - SOLVED REMOVE 3D VISION DRIVER
If you have a high-end NVidia 3D card and are getting incredibly low FPS / GPU utilization in The Witcher 2, even with the newest 275 beta drivers (specially made for The Witcher 2), the solution for me was:

REMOVE 3D VISION DRIVERS VIA ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS IN CONTROL PANEL

My game went from 5 FPS with LOWEST SETTINGS to FULL VSYNCH FPS with HIGHEST SETTINGS (minus Ubersampling, obviously)

Hope this helps at least one person!

edit: before anyone asks, yes I tried with "Enable Stereo 3D" both enabled and disabled.

Yeah, we know. NVIDIA has said that the fix for the problem will be in the next WHQL set of drivers. NVIDIA has not said when that will be.

We also know that you can just stop the NVIDIA Stereoscopic service if you would rather not uninstall the 3D drivers - which is likely for 3D Vision owners.

How can game be "3D ready" if I can only run it WITHOUT 3d driver\service?
I bought it to play in 3D, but I'll probably finish it before new WHQL release. Not good at all!!! /argh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':argh:' />

This is stupid. Is there a way what about the new beta driver .50? does it work?

That was written BEFORE the 275.33 drivers came out so you've probably already got the drivers NVIDIA was talking about. The drivers did little to help and the release notes blamed CDProjekt Red. CDPR has said they are working with NVIDIA to solve the issue but that the fix might not make it into the 1.3 patch. (Heck, they still haven't got the game recognizing 4:3 and 16:10 ratio monitors yet, do they?)

The moral of the story - do not believe "3D Vision Ready." Not even a little. Get out on the internet and see what people are saying. If people aren't saying much or if they haven't said anything in a long time, pop in here and ask. Just bear in mind that one person's 'acceptable' may be another person's 'turned my eyes into rasins'. (And for pity's sake, don't pre-order! That's never been a good idea.)

Don't give up hope on The Witcher 2, though. The developers worked quite hard on the first Witcher game putting out patches and free content over the course of a year after the game was released. Check in after the 1.3 patch and again after whatever patch comes up next. In the meantime, Steam has just about everything on sale. Go and feast.

Thx for the reply. Yeah it´s a pity i played a bit with the new driver and 3d disabled. I can´t wait to continue my jouney in this game. It looks awesome in 3d but makes no sense with that fps.

Gamecompanys and hardwaredevelopers should be really punished for making false prophecies and put out broken games- it´s gotten worse and worse through the years.
