Unfortunately the PS42A410 model doesn't have a 3D Synch port on the back of the screen so is not compatible with Nvidia 3d Vision.
I just picked up the PS50B450 on the weekend that has this port and is working fine with Nvidia's 3D glasses, only A450 or B450 have this as far as I have seen.
Are you in Australia as we have the PS at the start of the model number whereas USA have PN I believe, the funny thing is no retailer knows what the hell you are talking about when discussing 3d :)
I had one retailer looking up specs whilst I was on the phone and said the same thing that it has a 3D comb filter on the screen but this has nothing to do with the TV supporting 3D.

Hi
The Samsung PS42A450 has a 3d comb filter which is NOT a 3D Ready feature. Its an image processing algorithm used to clean up analog signals displayed on a digital television. So no, that feature is not related to 3D Vision at all.

Yes PS42A450 is a 3D ready display, just not the other model you asked about in your first post the PS42A410.
If you go to the Samsung website and look at either these below four models you will see in their manual pdf download the 3D synch port on the back of the TV and how to setup 3D is also in the manual.
I originally went hunting for a PS50A450 once I knew I could use it for 3D but found most retailers didn't have that model anymore but instead had the PS50B450 model which is what I got on the weekend.
So the 4 models that will work with 3D are PS42A450 (42inch), PS42B450(42inch), PS50A450(50inch) and PS50B450(50inch)
I got my PS50B450 from JBHifi for $1620 here in sydney so I don't know much you were looking at paying for the PS42A450, I would recommend no matter which size you get in screen that you try and go for the B450 series as it is a newer model and I read a lot of a particular forum where people were having alot of issues with the PS50A450 model. Obviously the jump from A450 to B450 is for a reason and those issues would be sorted out.
Another thing to keep in my mind is the 42inch is native resolution of 1024x768 whereas the 50inch is 1366x768.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks Andrew for the explanation on what a 3D comb filter is for I never had clue exactly what it was used for.

Ok, but why no comment on the 50" Plasma that seems like it should be a good match for 3D Vision? Would like to get some "semi-official" endorsement on that. It can't be as bad as semi-support of Samsung DLP which is discontinued. . .

Just to be clear, according to my research, the following Samsung plasma HDTV models are 3D-Ready (and therefore compatible with NVIDIA 3D VISION):
Samsung PN42B450 (in USA) (PS42B450 in Australia) (PS42B450 and PS42B451 in UK)
Samsung PN50B450 (in USA) (PS50B450 in Australia) (PS50B450 and PS50B451 in UK)
Samsung PN42A450 (in USA) (PS42A450 in Australia, PS42A450P1 in Asia)
Samsung PN50A450 (in USA) (PS50A450 in Australia, PS50A450P1 in Asia, PS50A476 in the UK and Europe)
In contrast, the PS42A410 (note: "410" vs. "450") is not 3D-Ready.
If in doubt, download the user manual, and confirm the presence (or absence) of the 3D Sync connector.
As Andrew Fear said, "3D Comb Filter" is _nothing_ to do with stereoscopic 3D.
One thing to note - there is a noticeable amount of ghosting on the A model Samsung 3D plasmas. The B models may be the same, but I haven't been able to confirm whether there is any difference in ghosting performance...
BTW: I maintain a full list of 3D-Ready displays (monitors and HDTVs) here: http://www.3dmovielist.com/3dhdtvs.html
