Hi I would really appreciate some help with this,I have an asus 3d laptop (53jw-ix) and have been wanting to update my nvidia graphics driver to 267.76. The problem is that there does not seem to be a 3d controller driver which is specifically designated for this version of geforce driver on the Nvidia website. I have previously been using the 266.21 3d controller driver with the geforce driver that I have installed (266.58) - the only other 3d controller driver that I see that might work is the 266.58 - but on the Nvidia website it mentions support for desktop gpus but does not mention mobile gpus. I have been really confused by the whole 3d driver issue!

It can be confusing i agree, nVidia have made changes since the release of the 260 and 265 drivers. I'm a new customer of the GTX 5xxx series graphics card and 3D Vision kit. From what i understand all you do is search for the specific product type, look for the whql graphics driver and the product type 3D Vision driver for GeForce from the official nvidia website, that is all you really need. It is the choice of the end user to try the beta drivers, which will have the GeForce graphics driver and 3D Vision driver bundled in the package.

Thanks for your prompt response, my card is a 460m nividia. There does not seem a 3d vision controller on the Nvidia site that seems to be associated with the latest mobile driver that (267.76) is compatible with the 4m series cards. The 3d driver on the Asus website is about a year old.

Ok, i searched your product type on nvidia's official site and the GTX 460m graphics driver is 267.76 WHQL. You are correct, there is no mention of support for the 460m 3D controller driver. But, you can try the 270.51 beta driver that supports your product and the 3d driver is bundled in the download, so that's all you need, but it is a beta, there might be issues?.

If you do not want to test use a beta driver i would suggest you use a windows hardware quality labs tested driver set from nvidia or asus. Select your country - Welcomes to ASUS Techincal Support Portal for United Kingdom & Ireland

I just realised that the (beta?) 270.51 might be what I am looking for (modded for laptops from laptoptogo) - as it seems to improve performance of a lot of apps, games that I use/play and also includes the vision controller driver. Might try it - worse comes to worse, I can just revert/restore. I will let you know how I get on. Thanks again.

Ok, i searched your product type on nvidia's official site and the GTX 460m graphics driver is 267.76 WHQL. You are correct, there is no mention of support for the 460m 3D controller driver. If you are using 267.76 GPU driver, try 267.24 3D vision driver. http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce-3d-vision-winvista-win7-267.24-driver.html
This will be a lot easier in R270.
