I unsuccessfully tried a bunch of other profiles today. I managed to find a different StereoCutOffSetting to use, now there isn't any popping.
I've no idea how well this will work throughout the game, I only tried the very start. The pop up bars on the top and bottom are annoying, and there no way to turn them off in the menu off via a config.

I. Tools Needed:
==============================
- Geforce 3D Profile Manager
==================================================
II. Step 1 - How to export current Nvidia Profiles
==================================================
1. First go to "C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\Drs" Folder.
2. We are interested in these 3 files:
[.]nvdrsdb0.bin - DataBase0 binary file[/.]
[.]nvdrsdb1.bin - DataBase0 binary file[/.]
[.]nvdrssel.bin - DataBase Selector file between 0 and 1[/.]
3. Delete the nvdrssel.bin file. (It will get automatically generated on profile import)
4. Start Geforce 3D Profile Manger and hit [Export SLI Profiles]. Save the file.
After doing the steps above, you will need to open up the saved profiles
The first entry in the extracted profiles is "BaseProfile "Base Profile""
Leave a space below it and copy and paste this profile
Profile "001 The Walking Dead: Michonne - A Telltale Miniseries"
ShowOn GeForce
ProfileType Application
Executable "WalkingDeadMichonne.exe"
Setting ID_0x701eb457 = 0x2241ab21 InternalSettingFlag=V0 //StereoProfile (AKA The Mystery Stereo Setting)
Setting ID_0x7050e011 = 0x7418eed9 InternalSettingFlag=V0 //StereoCutoffDepthNear
Setting ID_0x709a1ddf = 0x4b1cd968 InternalSettingFlag=V0 //StereoCutOff
Setting ID_0x70edb381 = 0x24208b5c InternalSettingFlag=V0 //StereoTextureEnable makes prompt 2D
Setting ID_0x708db8c5 = 0x5dad3477 InternalSettingFlag=V0 //Convergence Setting Value
EndProfile
Then use the profile manager to re-import the profiles.
Note: For me, it was playable like this. Though, it would definitely be better without the black bars :)
You can adjust the frustrum to make the bars better, but it also stretches the image.

So I tried to edit out the back bars using ps_3_0 and dcl_texcoord v0. It worked, but then some of the button prompts failed to appear. So it seems that the black bars need to stay.
Maybe someone will look at this game eventually.
According to How Long to Beat, it's 4-6 Hrs long.
Thanks for the tip, I'll try it next time, might it be usefull for the other Telltale games as well ?
To those of you who haven't played this game yet, just buy it !! It's worth every penny !

Great game, luckily the black bars only reared their ugly heads a few times.
I'm play The Walking Dead 1 atm and this altered profile makes the game very playable without a fix.
No idea about any others.
Great work D-Man11 !!
It's so good that I've just replayed the first 2 chapters (It's only a month ago I played it :)
IMHO it's allmost perfect if you set the depht to around 25-50%, and compensates by ading some more convergence.
That makes the shadows better, pushes UI a little to depht and a beautifull toyification, remember also to hit frustrum...
HIGLY recomended title !!

I don't touch the convergence, I leave it at the default value that's in place when I launch the game. Nor do I adjust the frustrum, I don't like the way that it stretches the image. I just let the black bars be ugly the few times that they pop up. My depth is at 100% and the game looks great for the most part. I really like the way that the second game menu screen looks now. lol, it only took me the better part of a day weeding out all of these profile settings.
I wish Nvidia would release the details and steps for making profiles.

I think fixing the black bars and red death tint would simply be a matter of putting the shader at W=1 or W=0, whichever is screen depth. The shadows might be fixable by another profile setting, like Aion and Protype profiles do for some games. The game is definitely playable now vs what it was before.

umm....., part of the problem seemed to be with the default profile that Nvidia provided for TWD 1. It seems that the stereo cutoff was causing issues and no one was aware of it. So I never played the game because I didn't like the fix, it seemed awkward.
