This cool game is finally ready to ship for the PCs.
Little more than a day until the game releases:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/314660/
Using 3DVision Player, I watched the 2D 60fps video from here:
http://www.gamersyde.com/news_our_pc_videos_of_new_n_tasty-16292_en.html
Added some separation to change my tiny monitor into a big projection screen, and I really, really hope that this will be working in 3D.
If it turns out to be incompatible with 3D, I wonder if there is a fan of the series among the people, who have the skill to make a fix for true 3D.

I'm a fan of the series and am planning on fixing it :)
Apparently it's a Unity game so I expect that I can get a WIP up fairly quickly to at least make it playable - depending on what curve balls this one throws...

2x Geforce GTX 980 in SLI provided by NVIDIA, i7 6700K 4GHz CPU, Asus 27" VG278HE 144Hz 3D Monitor, BenQ W1070 3D Projector, 120" Elite Screens YardMaster 2, 32GB Corsair DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Samsung 850 EVO 500G SSD, 4x750GB HDD in RAID5, Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 7 Motherboard, Corsair Obsidian 750D Airflow Edition Case, Corsair RM850i PSU, HTC Vive, Win 10 64bit
Great to hear that :)
Fingers crossed it's not hard to fix or even working "out of the box".
off-topic: I was afraid this game might end up like Trials Fusion - obvious candidate for a fix in my opinion, but unfortunately not so obvious for the others, and no 3D to this day, which is a pity since even fake 3D doesn't work in it. I know that "the fixers" have their hands full and I don't complain or anything. If more gamers want other games fixed, it's understandable.

Well we got darkstar on our side plus this is a unity game so the patterns of fixing are 99% already known.
I noticed this also a lot of steam indie games which are direct x 3D doesn't work at all. This all started with Evolve.
It doesn't help that a lot of the times they just flat out wrongly label them. I've seen more than a few "DX" games that were really OpenGL games.
Here's a first pass at fixing this game. Shadows, halos and fog are fixed:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/DarkStarSword/3Dfix-Oddworld+New+n+Tasty-alpha-0.1-2015-02-26.zip
This is an ALPHA v0.1 fix - there may well be rendering issues left to fix. I'm releasing this early because it should be enough to make the game playable and it will take me some time to play through the whole game. Please report back with any issues you find and where in the game they are.
So far the game looks great in 3D. The menus pop out quite a bit compared to the rest of the game, but the default convergence setting seems reasonable for the rest of the game, so I wouldn't lower it just for the menus.

This adds a convergence preset for the Rupture Farms directory and fixes the blue clouds that were cut off at the edge of the screen:

A big thank you for this, i'm glad the game means as much to you as it did/does to me!
Listening to Abe tell his story in the beginning was tantamount to traveling back in time and re-feeling that initial twinge of 'this is something different, a bit special.' - that feeling is so rare, but one of the best we humans can feel.
I don't know about you guys, but back when this first came out I spent about the first 30min in the 'GameSpeak' section playing the various sounds and words again and again, and i'm sure you all know which 'sound' got the most used (abused?) Well, it certainly had my Grammy (who had got me the game for Christmas) gasping and raising her eyebrows more than I thought humanly possible.
So, yesterday, I find myself doing the exact same thing, only this time I have my 10 year old son as a playing companion and equal opportunity-giggler - no gasp's of 'what have I done!' or raised eyebrows to dampen the mood this go around.
Ahh, nothing like a video game character that can fart on demand, while also creating a visually putrid green colored cloud and then (as in real life) - he giggles, laughs and is seemingly not only satisfied, but PROUD of what he has created; as it stimulates (for better or worse) 3 of the 5 senses. So, you don't have to roll your eye's into the 'i'm thinking' position while also raising your hand in preparation to count off and keep track of the 5 senses and the 3 he stimulates, I will simply meet you more than halfway and list them for you.
1) First, you would HEAR the sound, that's when the giggles start!
2) Next (this depends on your proximity to the initial blast) you would SEE the green cloud.
3) Third (this takes imagination, so, if you have none, you can stop reading right here) The SMELL! - Now, if you are close enough or not paying attention, you may SMELL the fart first before you SEE it, or you may not SEE it at all.
All I know is those 'meech-munchies' he's fond of look like they pack a hell of a gaseous punch.
Anyway, from my son and I both, thank you for taking this generational-bridging gaming experience to the next level, as for me it's LIKE playing the game for the first time as it adds a whole other dimension (literally) to an already stellar title. For my son, well it IS his first time and he gets to experience it as the nearly perfected masterpiece that you helped to create..
Thanks Again!

'FART' (Giggle) - 'Follow Me!' - 'Ok!' ... 'Wait!' (SNIFF-SNIFF) 'NO FOLLOW YOU! - NO WAY!' 'Would RATHER be made into FOOD!'

Thanks for this fix DarkStarSword! I just bought the GOG version & the fix looks great so far (I'm only 30 minutes in). I was experimenting with using the regular Helixmod DLL (the newest one) and I wasn't getting any crashes. Perhaps Steam overlay is causing issues?

Final fix is up - more clouds fixed, vapor, ripple distortion on spirit rings & shrykull lightning, sun shafts (only used once), glass in some menus, more automatic + manual convergence presets:

@4everAwake I haven't checked, but I suspect you are probably right about the steam overlay. I've left it as the injector version for now since that should work for everyone.
