I can get an OPTOMA DW531ST short throw projector for 400 quid but I dont think its certified. It's american cousin is though (gt720)
If it turns out that it is not certified, is there a way of tricking the drivers into thinking its the 720 or something else?
I need a short throw projector for upstairs but Im not really prepared to pay an extra £160 to get the same projector, just because it is a certified US version.
Obviously I would want to use the latest drivers, so this would be a consideration, ruling out any "use a driver from 3 years ago and apply this exe" fixes
Alternatively, can anyone suggest a reasonably priced thort throw projector that comes into a similar price bracket (£400). cheapest I can find the GT720 is £560...

If it has a vga input you can pull some pin(s) on a dvi-vga dongle that will kill the identification process and it should be treated as a 'generic crt' by the driver and work for you.

Surely someone knows if the OPTOMA DW531ST is supported, or if you can get it to work... - Andrew?
