Cryostasis is a freaky game and will give you the chills but havent seen much blood and gore from playing for a few hours and the 3d is only good with the depth turned all the way down.

Resident evil 5 of course plenty of gore but it hasnt gave me the chills.

Im going to look into more horror games myself I'll let you know what I find out and what the 3d is like.

Dead Space works fairly well, though you might want to play around with the convergence a bit because the default seemed kind of off to me. The laser sight in the game is already 3D by nature so you can still aim at limbs and everything too. Some objects are at the wrong depth, but if I could choose between playing it in 2D or 3D I'd choose the latter.

deathspace may be what you are looking for.
Anyway, some lightspots are doubled. You will get used to it in a short time.
I noticed in 3d main foes have human arms! Didn't notice in 2d.
Also the maggots on the corpses are "beautiful", and tentacles too.

I would say give Aliens vs. Predator (the new one) a shot, in spite of the issues with 3D. Apparently the marine missions are scary as hell. Or go with Monolith's Aliens vs. Predator 2. I would play that one myself if it weren't for that stupid "Client MFC application has caused an error" which prevents me from playing since I switched to Windows 7

Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth works perfect with 3D vision. A little updated but a great game anyway.

Silent hill games. All of them gives the creeps.... I don't know for sure if they works on 3d-vision though.

+1 for dead space, although i have yet to check it out in 3D personally. the RE games havent been scary in almost a decade, unless your really easily scared.

+1 for condemned, although it's a lot more of a "BOO! I STARTLE YOU!" sort of scary than horror.

I'm not sure what Fatal Frame games are on PC or if they support 3D, but I think i'm going to have to look into that actually, cause that would be pretty nice.
