Completely Fed up with 3D.
  3 / 3
This is a big problem I'm having... even tech support thinks it will work and states the drivers just aren't ready yet... I called 3 different times... Finally I just told them I was only trying to run 3D on that one monitor threw that one out put.. then they told me "Ah yes, that will not work it must be a 3D Ready TV... so even Nvidias tech thinks that there web site is correct... once they "get it" they try to tell me that I must have miss understood... making it my fault... ...how used car sales of them... No luck as of yet with getting them to step up and take care of the problem. Been on the phone on and off all day.

This is no small over site. It even states that you can buy a GTX 295 if you don't have a SLI mobo and make it work 3D surround... so if you don't have the extra expansion slot on your mobo... you are super boned!

Tech support told me to buy TV's ...lmfao... I told them "I" wont be buying any thing...
So far I'm getting the run around and "Dave's not here man" line a lot. I used the Cheech and Chong reference because they must be stoned to think that leaving this problem unsolved will in any way make it go away...

On the phone with them still... Tech, the same one that said it will never work.. just came back and said it "Might" be supported in a future driver...
If the bandwidth isn't there how can it ever be supported? The same person who was telling me that I must have misunderstood is now telling me to just sit on all my stuff and wait because maybe in some fairy tail land in the future they will magically develop a driver capable of pushing more bandwidth over the structurally limited cable.

Now... they are telling me to simply return the products to the store I purchased them from because it makes sense that it can not be changed in a future update... I have the feeling this person is reading from a screen prompt....

Of course we all know what returning open box electronics is like... now imagine a "April" release date for these drivers and buying the product just before then... look now at the calendar and think about what the store would say to you had you even attempted to bring them in lol... Besides that, why would I want to hurt the owner of that building for a mistake some other company made? They couldn't sell them as new any more even if they did take them back so they would have to discount them and sell them as open box and loose there rears on it.

I'll say this... I really don't expect that they will fix the situation. If they do... IF then I will continue to buy there product... I've been a Nvidia user for years... every card I have purchased since some time in the 90's has been their card. I only ever had one ATI card and I wasn't all that impressed with it.
The new stuff is pretty slick though... and I could easily convert over since my MOBO supports both SLI and X-fire, just a matter of what cards I drop in it.

Escalation only works if you have a case number already, which I do now...

I'll update as this progresses. I am on hold with Escalation now after tech finally admitted defeat. In the mean time I looked over the total investment in 3D... the 295 card was just under 400.. we'll say 300 to round down. the monitors were just under 400 (380...something) we'll round up since we rounded down on the card...Nvidia 3D specks set up... about 200... so that's about 1700 bux. What do you guys think is fair to ask for? I really would love for it just to work. I refuse to spend another dime though making it work... that was a huge investment... and if the drivers weren't going to be available at that time I could have waited and got a hold of cheaper screens as the cost falls until they are released... I talked to the guy and said in all reality I just want it to work, I told him I did have a SLI-mobo and left it at that. This person I got on the phone was very polite and understanding, A+ to them regardless of what the results turn out to be. He identified the problem right away and then said he was going to contact marketing ASAP to get the site changed to reflect that it would only work with the HDMI-3D ready TV's for that card by it's self (The GTX 295)

I'm awaiting a call back to find out what the verdict is on what they will do with my exact situation. I will post back with the details regarding what happened unless it is part of the agreement that I can not. In which case I would just post back with "Resolved"

Leaving this up here to show the different levels of support and the impact it has on a consumer and our attitudes, also that a internal update needs to be made as well because the "Screen Readers" at support are also getting the wrong info.

Would be kind a cool if they did something nice and gave a card upgrade or something for all the hassle... of course if they did I would still have to buy a new sound card because my sound card is down there now... but meh... if they took the high road and did that to take care of me I could eat a little more on a different item I purchased (Sound card was about 100 bux too... little over that..)

Note: Sorry for kind of hijacking this thread but it's 3D related and I feel important for every one to know so they don't make the same mistake in the purchase combination I made, when other combination's will work.

Pretty sure you were warned about the shape of 3-way SLI and 3D Vision before you bought those cards by me and others, here and at EVGA.com. But you bought 3x480 and 3xAW2310 anyways. 3-way and 4-way SLI were only in Beta support and even that support level was deprecated recently from their support/sysreq page. As others stated, your best bet is to pull a 480 and run 2-way SLI until you see better official support for 3-way SLI. 2-way isn't perfect either, but its certainly better than 3-way and 4-way, at worst you see no scaling from the 2nd GPU but rarely will you see worst performance.[/quote]

u tell'em chiz.....he was....u said it....and i read it.....and he hasn't even bothered to come back...

on another note...2x 480 work excellent for 3d....

So... no response to that huh? Awesome... my faith withers... as I have not heard back from Tech sense... even though they are supposed to be determining what they can do to fix my issue, weather it be shipping me a new card (Cheaper than paying for my setup I purchased going by there set guidelines... costing about 1,700 bux...), buying back my equipment that will never work right even though they said it would and now realize that it never will.. or telling me to FK myself. At least call me or email me... or even a post here.

I even made a post listing that the info on the site was incorrect and listed how it would work as apposed to how it said it worked now that it's all figured out... no Nvidia bashing just a heads up to help others and save Nvidia from adding to a crowd of people that would want to file a class action...

I'm getting really tired of being the nice guy, trying to help with no appreciation, and getting ripped off at the same time by that same company I'm trying to protect because I had though to my self... meh, crap happens and people make mistakes. This mistake cost me a total investment price of 1700 bux... other wise I probably would have only spent about 800 (I still would have got good gear.. but no need for 3 120hz monitors.) This just might be the straw that broke me and turned me into the a$$ hole that starts the Class Action... I have all summer off of work.. and really... I have the money to burn on it right now, which in the past I never had. Might be worth it just to show them not to walk on there loyal customers.

I remember some one earlier with a Max Head Room icon saying we would vote with our wallets, and I am starting to think that's an excellent idea, but I'd like to follow it up with Nvidia replacing some cash that they conned out of it... (Con meaning to trick some one out of there money by promising something for it that does not exist, and in this case never will..

Or maybe I'm just having a bad day and not seeing any thing from them here, in my mail box, or getting no voice mail from them might have set me off. I'm the nicest guy and will give some one the shirt off my back if they ask for it and need it... but if they try to trick me out of a penny they can fk them self's... Right now I feel like I gave my shirt to Nvidia and they used it as a satchel to pile up money out of my safe and make an escape with it.

Nvidia... are you reading? Do you see what you are doing to your customer base? You're turning them into ATI fans by default because it's the only one left...

End 5am rant... off to bed and not happy this happened to be my last act before heading there. Shape up Nvidia while you still can, or we'll ship out.
