Are you saying the Max Payne 3 profile works for you now necro? Yesterday I tried it myself but to absolutely no effect. Had the same halos around the characters even with AO, Shadows and Motion Blur disabled!? All I did was deleting the Mortal Kombat X profile from Nvidia Inspector and adding the MK X.exe to the Max Payne 3 profile instead. Is htere anything specific that needs to be done?
Which profile would you say is the better suited profile for MK X?

and you really are saying that this solves the problem with the halos around the characters (which is the only issue I could name by now)? If you are not focussing on it you may even overlook it. Can you definitely confirm that you've got zero halos around the characters gameriam? If yes I will try it again.
If I got you right the MKX profile lets you choose Ambient Occlusion and Motion Blur (I am currently playing that way) but has the issue with the halos around the characters while the Max Payne 3 profile fixes the halo-problem at the price of Ambient Occlusion and Motion Blur which need to be mandatory turned off.
So I would like to know: All things considered which profile gives you the overall better experience?

In my case ... the MKX profile was unplayable, (many isues, awfull appearance)
I Was trying , and find this casualy, i´ve never make an 3d photo... if i reach to make one, i´ll up here for you, it´s perfect , amazing 3d.
By the way , The Ao ive turned off because performance its not nice whith it on my pc. (don´t know in others)
The shadows Ive turned off, because i read in this post that cause conflicts.
The motion blur ive turned off because i hate this effect, (i turn off it on every games)
I will google to learn about making 3d potos , then i will show you the nicest 3d ive seen...

Thanks alot, gamerian. These pics look impressive indeed. Would it be possible for you to take some screenies while actually playing/fighting? While I also have no issues on character selection the "halo thing" appears mainly while actually going one on one. Maybe you can take some screenies from the actual fighting. Best way to do this would be Practice mode (preferably the Dead Wood Stage) where you can take a screenie while both fighters are standing next to each other. The halo Problem should be pretty apparent here (especially on the Deadwood Stage)
When I change to the MaxPayne3 profile absolutely nothing changes for me. Everything looks great but those halos are distracting! For me it seems it doesn't matter which profile I choose!?

Hi again!
I make this ones in dead Wood.
Hope helps.
I think i understand what are you meaning, (i can see Little halo in the sword at the bottom of the screen) is this?
Anyway i tried again the default profile to compare , but default still unplayable (one grey eye).

Thanks again gameriam. Unfortunately I am not at home right now and won't have access to my computer before tomorrow evening. Can't wait to check those screenies out....

Kinda wierd. If I use the Max payne 3 profile its by far worse, but if I use the default I get very similar results to gameriam_nets screens.
I suggest playing around with it a bit on both profiles.
all advanced settings essentially must be off, and shadows.
The halos are faint and non existent on some maps, but they are there.

Didn't you say that the Max Payne 3 profile also works for you now necro (see above)!?
Currently I am using the default MK X profile and I am fine with it (aside from the halos). I even have Ambient Occlusion and Motion Blur turned on as they seem to cause no issues for me.
This evening I will have a look at gameriam's screenies......

No, the Max Payne 3 profile is actually worse than the default one. I notice some more problems with lighting rendered in one eye so I went back to default.

I got a chance to get the game running in 3D with the expanded depth tweak and god damn the game looks stellar!
Turned off all advanced options (except particles at max)
I had Ambient Occlusion on at first but it appears to not apply correctly in 3D so I turned that off too. I also disabled motion blur for the latter images.
Also, ignore the Afterburner overlay. Some captured at 1920x1080, some captured at 3840x2160.

Those pics look absolutely awesome Alo! ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!
@gameriam Your pics also are absolutely brilliant. Thanks again for your effort. If you look very closely you can see the halo on one arm of D'Vorah (Deadwood Stage). As I said it's not always apparent. But if you look closely you can see the black are around her arm. This is the halo effect we were speaking of. Also if you look at the trees in the background you can also spot some black hollow areas next to the tree trunk.

This game would be disgustingly beautiful in 3d with all the detail and post processing on mx. Hint hint. otherwise its nice and playable as it is and still looks good more or less.
If only someone could mod in online that actually works....
