WD-60C9 Choppy Graphics - Help Please
Ok - I just bought a Mitsubishi WD-60c9 DLP tv today. I hooked it to PC via HDMI. I have a Nvidia GTX 260 Video card. I started COD modern warfare and the graphics were unplayable choppy. It like pauses for a split second every few seconds. I changed the resolution to a crappy 640X480 and it went away. I didnt buy this tv to play at 640x480. Please help! Now keep in mind this is without 3d. I plan on purchasing 3d vision in the future. There has to be a solution. Nvidia said this tv was compatible.

PC specs:
intel core 2 quad q9450
4 gigs ram
windows 7
nvidia gtx 260

________________________

I have tried this with all games - same result. very choppy. when I look at my pc monitor it is smooth as silk, and then I look at the TV and its choppy. It makes no sense. The nvidia GTX 260 has the dvi-hdmi connector that came with it, thats what I am hooking the hdmi cable to.

I don't understand what is going on. I can't find any other post with this problem. I really don't know what to do. I feel I made a bad purchase. Please tell me I am wrong /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

P.s. I also don't know what kind of hdmi cable I have. It seems that there is a Category 1 and Category 2 type cables. If I have the "slower" one will that cause choppiness?

You have to realize that using 3d vision usually produces a performance hit of 50% . Games that run avarage fps in 2d, will run unbarely slow with 3d vision turned on.

The gtx 260 is not a very fast card nowadays. And cod can be taxing. The most new games will run bad on it with 3d. Unless your going to tweak your games on low/medium settings. I use an gtx 285 and it still a tad on the slow side for most new games.

So you've got two options:
1. Buy a better card like the gtx295 or wait for the new Fermi.
2. Play older games. They will run fine. Check out the best games thread for inspiration, there are gems in there :)

If you have more questions first use the forum search before asking.

Try a different game that COD. I suspect the laser sight may be impacting performance. Try Left 4 Dead, Resident Evil 5, or WoW

Thanks for all the input guys. I still dont think you understand my problem. I Do NOT have 3d vision yet. I cant get ANY game to run smooth WITHOUT 3d. Looks great on my pc monitor, but TONS of LAG on my DLP. I have messed with EVERY setting on this tv and EVERY resolution possible. I am begining to belive this tv SUCKS for gaming. XBOX360 looks great no choppiness with 1080p hdmi, but pc lags tons. I have to be doing something wrong. This is NVIDIA approved and no one else has any LAG issues. And I repeat I have NO 3D VISION yet. Thanks for any help you can provide. I am about to give up on my PC gaming dream because of this piece of trash TV!!!!!

PS. And I tried turning all image enhancer stuff off IE noise filter etc.

I would recommend getting another HDMI cable and seeing if thats the problem. Clearly it shouldn't be choppy like that.

Is your TV connected in Clone-Mode? Maybe you can try to connect only your TV and no other screens.

Which resolution and refresh rate have you set for your TV in the nvidia control panel? Some interlaced resolutions produce some stuttering(720i, 1080i).
Be sure you have set 1080p(or 720p) @ 60Hz.
On some driver-versions I had the issue that the HDTV was driven with 1080i @ 25Hz which produced some stuttering. I had to set 1080p 60Hz each time when I connected the HDTV. But I never had this issue since 190.38 is out I guess.

OH MY GOD - I SOLVED IT!!!!!! IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!! YES YES YES!!!!!!! /banana.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Heres what I did. I am really suprised no one else had this problem.

I went to Nvida control panel:
Change Resolution:
Under the connector setting I selected HDMI-HDTV (AUDIO DISABLED)
For some reason the default setting HDMI-HDTV (AUDIO ENABLED) causes extreme lag. Maybe its the tv waiting for an audo signal that is not there.

This has been the biggest headache for me. I hope this helps someone who may run into the same problem as me. This TV ROCKS!!!!!! Now I just have to save up for 3d Vision and Paradise will Begin.

Thank you everybody who tried to help. This is a great forum! /clap.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
