Pointless removal of Stereoscopic 3d from mobile GPUs?
I think I was once told that you can use 3D but you have to have an external emitter for it to work. Internal emitters wouldn't work because of what you just said. I wasn't talking about just the 3d for the card though. It doesn't work correctly period (the whole card) without prema's bios or eurocom's modded bios.
Soo... wait a second;) Are you saying...
That:
- I can use a 980M GPU in my laptop
- I can use the Internal 3D Vision Ready Screen of my laptop
- IF I connect and external Emitter????
Are you sure?? Cause if this is the case, I'll buy the first 1080 (Mobile) I will find!!!!!!!!!!!
^_^

-yes, if prema has a bios for your machine (i'm using one in mine as you can see in my sig)
-only if you have an external emitter (internal emitters don't work for the reasons you pointed out).

^external emitter
I haven't tested it myself but that's what prema and a few other users told me before @techinferno & notebookreview that 3d will only work with the external emitter on this card.

Oo,, now that is interesting indeed! Emitters? Yes, I have like 4 around hahahahah:)) 3 or them in the original boxes:))
Hooking an emitter to the laptop is not a problem;) but carrying a 3D Monitor around (especially when the one inside the laptop is 3D) is like a no go...sadly:( (doesn't fit the backpack).

bad news. as i suspected. they say they wont work in our machines :(
Here is what my reseller had to say about it :(
"Unfortunately, NVIDIA stopped supporting 3D the time of the 590M and 680M cards. So while you may have a 120Hz panel in the machine, the 980M card won’t support 3D. As well, the system used one of two cables for 120Hz support. One was used with cards that could support 3D, the other without. As each config had a different bios, if you put the wrong cable in, the unit would give you no video to the panel.
To summarize, you need a matched set of LCD, cable, Video card, BIOS, as well as the glasses and emitter to get 3D on that system. The 980M card will not work, despite what the drivers may loaded."
