It's definitely not compatible. Also, passive 3d (which this uses) looks awful.

^Might work on some monitors for some people, but it's an unofficial hack. It's a risk, and passive 3d looks terrible. Wait, save your cash, and get a VG278H

If you are only using 3D 1% of the time then just forget it exists and pick your display based on other merits.
I am going to use the 3d 1% of the time
You might say that now. But once you play games in 3D, you'll likely find out that you'll use it more. I used a 23 inch LG Passive for a lil while, it sucked for 3 reasons: one: it only accepts a 60Hz input, true 120Hz monitors are way more responsive (do not confuse interpolation with input Hz) and are great for 2D gaming in addition to 3D. two: due to the technology used text can be unreadable in 3D.(this might be slightly better on a 27 inch) So when playing multiplayer games, chat can be a problem. You need to understand that you'll never get more than 1920x540 resolution per eye due to the film pattern retarder. three: there's is a small sweetspot for the best somewhat crosstalk free viewing. Move your head up or down and the crosstalk increases dramatically. Note: Passive 3D HDTVs for the most part do not have any of these problems due to the size of the screen, but they do tend to suffer from increased lag
