Further to notifying nvidia customer care about their wrongful belief that 1.16 and 1.17 support DLP and CRT, and recieving the ignorant reply that they do as per http://www.nvidia.com/object/3D_Vision_Requirements.html
I replied "Dear Sunil, please read your 3D NVIDIA VISION forum, the problem I report is global and your incorrect answer that it supports the displays listed in the requirements demonstrates reckless ignorance. Read the forums!!!! In future please research the background of questions before considering replying to them."
To this reply I have just recieved my second answer from nvidia "Thank you for the update. Your case is being escalated to our Level 2 Tech Support group. The Level 2 agents will have to review your case notes. As this process may take some time we ask that you be patient and a Level 2 tech will contact you as soon they can to assist you with your issue."
I hope many others have followed though with the excellent suggestion to notify nvidia recommended at the start of this thread

I reported this to Customer Care when the CD 1.16 came out and haven't received any reply from them yet (except for the initial autoreply). That's why with the CD1.17 repeated mistake, I only gave feedback to the driver quality assurance team and still also haven't received any acknowledgement. In light of your result with them, it seems when users united and voice up our discontent and tell them what's wrong repeatedly and for a long period of time by many people, they may then in a fashion not unlike the movement of glaciers start to understand what the issue is.

No further word /advice from nvidia. The only development I can see is Andrew's return to the forum, whom I believe is the 3D Vision manager, who should be responsible for his teams poor recent performance (not developing features to be competetive with iz3d and tridef, careless driver releases, ignorance of his departments driver ++ failings and leaving customer care effectivly blind so they cannot really help consumers, etc).
It is interesting he has returned as problems in his area of responsibility are escalating on many fronts and given excuses, such as, busy travelling that currently do not seem to be stopping his communications despite still travelling with a busy schedule???
I wish Andrew and Nvidia well in resolving the issues currently plaguing the development of Nvidia 3D Vision and do not doubt Nvidia as a company will offer him and its' consumers a lot of support thoughout this process. I further hope that when the recent poor performance is controlled measures will be instituted to prevent similar issues in the future, as 3D vision was born a great product and has a lot of further potential.

I am forced to use the 1.13 drivers because the last newest ones fail to find my CRT. So, Avatar in S3D has serious issues... Sometimes it's really nice, but most of the time it's riddled with anomalies. C'MON NVIDIA! Sheeeeesh.

1.15 driver works well for Samsung DLP's for all but the most recent games. I am thinking of going Tridef as well that MTBS reports tend to work better than Nvidia (recent 5 game reviews) have more features autoconvergence, convergence presets, better timing control, 2D to 3D conversion, better depth and popout management, and most importantly lack the proprietary cr*p that stops Nvidia's recent drivers working on native 3D checkerboard displays despite claiming they do.

Currently CD 1.15 is the latest that can detect and work with your Sammy. It will work with Avatar though the frame rate is not optimized.
Console => I don't have console so can't help you there.
I believe Tridef doesn't support 64bit OS, and despite its lack of communication with users Nvidia is a S3D provider that cannot be ignored: I have been putting up with Nvidia's issues for the past 10 years or so because they always have been having a viable solution.
Regardless of how Nvidia treat its customers presently, as a business entity it is driven by profit and I believe it will have to transform itself in near future to maintain its viability in the S3D marketplace.
On a side note, I think as a S3D addict it's best to obtain both Nvidia and iZ3D solutions for now while waiting for AMD/ATI coming out with its own S3D solution.

Tridef glasses are compatible with iZ3D new drivers unlike Nvidia's, iZ3D's native solution requires a polarised display but their drivers support shutter and interlaced modes work with Tridef and most other shutter glasses. Interestingly most large display / TV manufacturers and ATI appear tending to Tridef solutions.
It is absolutely dumbfounding how a leading graphic hardware company built on fromer great products, who while not innovating physx and 3D shutter technolgy has advanced these developments but is doing it in ways that alienate or impede many of the manufacturers, developers, existing consumer solutions and consumers that could assist and support these technologies and Nvidia. How long do they think they can lockup their existing customers with henious non-industry standard proprietary restrictions that are actually creating a need for and fostering the development of alternative user friendly solutions that will further damage or destroy Nvidia's already tarnished consumer relations and future viability.

At least it's now clear that it is a bug and nVidia did not intentionally drop generic CRT/DLP support.

This is good news nevertheless.

I just purchased nVidia vision for avatar, I understand that there is a bug on the PC drivers.
why can't my glasses work with xbox360 without the PC trick? (which I can't do since my samsung only has one connection that has 3D enabled)
I just want to try these glasses out with a game.
I finally have the holliday off to play some 3D games without work and college getting in the way,

$200 for 3D glasses is a premium I would rather give it to a company that can support my needs.

If I can't get them to run over the weekend I'm just about ready to return these back and order a pair of tridefs instead.
