I am using the box retail version, coming with Steam. Well, tell you what, 3D Vision WORKS with this one under DirectX 9.0, no needs to cry out about this. You can see nice 3D effects BUT unfortunately ghost effects are very strong, especially under enlighted environments. This game is indeed designed for AMD users, that's so true. I'm sure if a Nvidia could add a profile, maybe ghost effects could go away. More, you need at least a video card with at least 1 Gb VRAM to fully use a resolution with a fresh rate of 120HZ.

Modified version of helifax's method works, in DX11, even with steam version. Credit to him.
There are a few tweaks I would recommend though:
1. Download this exe I found using google which bypasses steam and use it with a LEGITIMATE version of the game. Just unzip into the main deus ex folder, overwriting any files.
http://www.mediafire.com/?evpyudi3k3sgxhy
(I hope this is allowed?)
Additional optional step: Using NV inspector, add re5dx10.exe to the Deus Ex: Human Revolution profile, for better performance.
2. Start the game using re5dx10.exe
3. As helifax says, in the options, disable ssoa and keep shadows at "normal".
4. Play as you would any other 3D Vision game.
There you have it. Thanks to the community, an almost perfect S3D solution.
Why would Andrew ask us to post on their boards if all that was needed was a 3D vision profile for the game, like any other game. The cynic in me would say that nVidia knew the solution all along; they just wanted to make a big ruckus on the dev's forums to give ATi's version bad PR. It kinda worked. Everyone thinks that ATi paid the devs to not support nVidia 3D vision, when in fact, a quick tweak of a profile made everything work. (If deus ex had the exact same profile as resident evil 5, it would have worked without any messing around). It seems like nvidia deliberately withheld supported profile to make ATi look bad.
Basically, it accomplishes this:
nVidia's message to any dev or publisher is that if they ever intend to support ATi and advertise on box and intros, they better do nVidia 3D Vision too or else their forums will get swamped by us 3D Vision zombies.

Well they sorta guaranteed around 30 hours of gameplay.
Personally I beat the game in...13 hours on Normal including, I believe, all the side quests. And I looked around at every nook and cranny explorable in the game. I'm trying on the hardest now and seeing what that yields. That's pretty much the only letdown for me so far.

Def. didnt explore every nook and cranny in 13 hours imo/talk to everyone. Takes 4 hours to explore each major city. You may be surprised on second playthrough how much you missed. In china I was 2/3 through augments from exploreing/hacking/quests.

Hello all,
First of all I want to say the following: 8 Pages with almost no information in it!!!!! Most of the people wine and troll around here about how they were screwed!!! I only say this: PCs were the first mediums for gaming when the "console" concept wasn't even thought yet. PC gaming is for the PASSIONATE and people who know more than just "surf the web, watch youtube and mess" So, PLEASE, I BEG YOU EVEN, don't TROLL around here unless you have some USEFUL information!!! If you want to have the luxury to wine and troll sell your PC and buy a console so that you have that privilege.
I apologize for this to the people who contributed in making this game playable on nVidia 3D Vision (Sorround) systems as I am not referring to them.
After all "Sharing is Caring"!!!!!
With this in mind I want to add the following information to the community:
=======
Intro:
=======
Deus Ex ... enabled a new step in ... Human Revolution
Now to be enjoyed in 3D Vision Surround while playing in DX 11 and take advantage of all the cool features like Tesselation for example, and also enjoy SLI.
============
How-To Guide:
============
In order to be able to do so, follow these steps:
1. Locate your installation folder. For Ex: "C:\Deus Ex HR"
2. DO NOT SET "StereoMode == 4" in registry!!!! This will cut your FPS in half. So leave it as default to 0. The convergence will be available for manual tweaking once you are finished.
3. From "Windows -> Start" write "cmd" and hit enter.
4. Issue the following command whitout the quotas: "cd DEUS_EX_INSTALL_DIR" and hit Enter. Ex: "cd C:\Deus Ex HR"
5. Here issue the following command : "mklink /h re5dx10.exe dxhr.exe". This will create a hardlink and will "force" 3D Vision to load another profile, in this case for Resident Evil 5 in DX10 mode.
6. Create a new desktop shortcut that will point to the new executable file. Ex: "C:\Deus Ex HR\re5dx10.exe".
7. Play the game using this shortcut.
8. Once ingame navigate to options and DISABLE SSAO, as it produces weird effects.
9. Be sure NOT TO SET shadows higher than NORMAL as it will be rendered incorrectly in 3D. Everything else can be maxed out!!!!
THIS IS IT!!!
The game will render "almost" everything in beautifull DX11 while in 3D. There still are some minor issues with lightning and some shadows.
With a little effort nVidia will make this game 3D Vision Ready in the future driver release if they want to.

I am a dedicated gamer to new tech like Surround/Eyefinity and 3D. I have nothing to do with nVidia, AMD, Eidos, Square Enix or any other producer, developer or software company that was involved in the development of this software (game).
The guide described here is my doing (I didn't copy/paste it from nowhere so, please show some respect if you want to give it further).
If you choose to follow the steps described above you are doing it on your own, all I can provide is technical help regarding to my method. It will not fry up your PC or cause any damage.

THIS WORKS!!!
The combination of these two got (almost all) the issues solved, and I'm running in DX11 on the Steam version!! This has made it more than playable and I'll finally be enjoying the game. Just to be perfectly clear, there are still some issues that I will list, but overall this is great stuff:
-issues with certain lights still, some are rendered in only one eye or rendered in both but slightly incorrectly, but overall this is a massive improvement
-the biggest problem is there is some pretty severe ghosting at times, any tips to help minimize this? Some of the lighting issues seem to be because of this ghosting too
-implementing this fix on the Steam version will cause you to lose your saved games (luckily I have been waiting for a fix to play too far)
-Cursor is in 2D, minor issue (crosshair is in 3D)
But like I said this is now more than playable and hopefully some of the issues above can be mitigated.
THANK YOU to you two for your efforts! /thanks.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thanks:' /> Time to sink into this game finally. :D
edit: one slight modification to the install procedure for the Steam steps, you have to remove the profile or executable from RE5 before it will let you add it to DE:HR in NV Inspector but that's a trivial task. This fix also cleared up the mouse input lag I was having before.

Tried it, and while with 3D enabled the game is playable now, I have to play a little bit longer to judge. In any case, with this method the HUD is still rendered incorrectly and has severe ghosting. Also, after launching the game using the patched exe, my savegames were not available, so if someone wants to play in this way, you gotta start from scratch.
Thanks for the hard work finding a reasonable solution, but I'm still waiting for an official word from the devs or NVIDIA.
[EDIT] - Just to add that using this method you can keep your savefiles:
It works on Steam too:
get the AvP demo impostor workaround by Bloody: http://3dvision-blog.com/aliens-vs-predator-multiplayer-demo-fix-for-3d-vision-users/
rename dxhr.exe to re5dx10.exe
rename avp.exe to dxhr.exe
rename avp.ini to dxhr.ini
edit dxhr.ini to read: program=re5dx10.exe
run as normal and the RE5 profile is loaded
the run as Setup option in Steam might start the game actually now, but one can change all the options from within the game anyway

Maybe you don't notice it as much as some, or many it's a setting i'm using since I play with everything max. All I know is I get terrible lag and if you search on google i'm by no means the only one.

I've maxed out everything and I'm succeptible to lag (I very much see the difference between VSync on and off lag wise in every game). And believe me, there is no more lag on my system than with any other game when VSync is active.

Played for a solid hour and a half with the above fixes and although it is certainly more than playable, there are still some issues to sort. On top of what I mentioned earlier, there is a serious problem when in close-up dialogues with people, and I also noticed it once or twice when doing a close-up takedown move on an enemy. Sometimes the dialogue scenes will be shown in 2D with one eye blacked, and other times two different scenes seem to be imposed on each other. I'll give the other workaround a few posts up a try tomorrow.

I'm definitely reading all your efforts and it's nice to see the community rallying to try to make the game work.
Unfortunately a profile will not solve all issues in the game. We need support from Eidos to implement support for us as they have AMD to make this game work in 3D.
I tried all of your tricks and I still see many issues in the game.

nVidia's message to any dev or publisher is that if they ever intend to support ATi and advertise on box and intros, they better do nVidia 3D Vision too or else their forums will get swamped by us 3D Vision zombies.

Hi
While I respect your opinion I don't think our message is swamp the boards as zombies. Early on I knew users would want support for this game in 3D and I knew it would support from the developer. I was trying to be proactive to let our users know we still need the developers help.
If you look at ay game we work with, we always work with developers to support 3D Vision, but we never tell them don't work with someone else. That's bad for gaming.

Hello all,
First of all I want to say the following: 8 Pages with almost no information in it!!!!!
=======
Intro:
=======
Deus Ex ... enabled a new step in ... Human Revolution
Now to be enjoyed in 3D Vision Surround while playing in DX 11 and take advantage of all the cool features like Tesselation for example, and also enjoy SLI.

How-To Guide:
============

Enjoy and Happy Gaming!!!

THANK YOU to you two for your efforts!
edit: one slight modification to the install procedure for the Steam steps, you have to remove the profile or executable from RE5 before it will let you add it to DE:HR in NV Inspector but that's a trivial task.

My apologies if you feel used.
