Windows 10 doesn't recognise my 3d projector anymore
I used to be able to Windows-P and switch between my monitors and my projector, with 3d mode available. I know I have an unusual config with multiple displays and SLI, but in the last week or so I've noticed that I am unable to activate anything other than 3d discover mode when running on my projector. My surround monitors still allow proper 3d (on the stereoscopic 3d dropdown) but my projector doesn't. I've tried lots of different things, deactivating surround, rebooting with projector as primary display (this used to do the trick on W7), unplugging my TV, switching inputs between the cards etc, upgrading to the latest driver. I also tried switching display drivers to one of the old EDID overrides I used to use, but it seems that this isn't possible any more due to Windows 10 and digital signing of 3rd party drivers. Is there any way to force the options in the registry or some other way? The projector isn't even being picked up as a 3DTV play device and I'm not sure what's changed. Maybe it broke a while ago with one of the recent drivers or a windows update or something? It's not something I use that often. Thanks in advance.

You might try hot plugging it, then it might get recognized. Is it plugged into a DVI or HDMI port or is it DP to HDMI adapter? It's also possible that it's a Nvidia driver problem and it's not recognizing your emitter as a product key for 3DTV Play. Which driver are you using? Do you have all 6 displays connected?

It's plugged in to the display port using an adaptor. The pc is seeing the projector, it's working fine, just the driver is not recognizing it as a 3D display. It could be a driver issue, I'll see if it picks up the TV as being a 3dtv play device, although I was using the projector as a 3d vision display and that's still available as an option for my BenQ monitors. Was using 359.00 (I think) but upgraded to latest (361.43?) in an attempt to fix this issue. Actually I normally only have 5 connected, I don't use the Asus at all any more. I'll try mucking around with what's plugged in and when.

I had that problem with my Passive JVC, If I use a DP to DVI adapter with a DVI to HDMI cable, it's not recognized for 3DTV Play. But it would work via Optimized for GeForce with an override. But running it directly from the HDMI works for 3DTV Play. 980ti W7 64 359.00 I thought it was because I bought the cheapest adapter they had, it says "Dell" on it, was $6 or because it was DP to DVI instead of DP to HDMI. So you might try running it from the HDMI output.

That's interesting, I'll try it in the hdmi port as I am using a dp>dvi>hdmi adaptor, same as you were. Will still try to get 3d vision mode working and still not sure what's changed but anything is better than nothing. Luckily I still have dual boot into w7, will see what's going on with that.

I have an Epson 5010 3D projector. It’s not being detected properly anymore. I can get the drivers to setup and test. They work fine. Here’s when the problem is. None of my ISO disk images will run in 3D. I have tried KODI and Power DVD. Most state that I don’t not have a compatible 3D display. However my .mkv side by side 3D movies will play in 3D. If I change my projector from Automatic to side by side format. Then I get a complaint from the projector that resolution isn’t supported and I get a black screen. All my files and *.iso work fine on a Asus 3D monitor. The older Cyberlink Power DVD version 7 allowed me to use the keyboard shortcuts in the movie as well. So everything worked. Now with Power DVD 16 (latest version), those shortcuts don’t work. For the movie “Avatar” the disk plays and says to put on your 3D glasses. The disk menu comes up in 3D and then I select to play in 3D. Then the movie plays in 2D. For the movie “Alice in Wonderland” it flat-out states your don’t have a 3D monitor attached. Update your drivers. So I will keep looking into it but this is frustrating. Carl
