your post mentioned "Neverwinter Nights" as one of the RPG's that work great in 3D. Are you sure it's not Neverwinters Nights 2? The reason I ask, is I cannot get Neverwinter Nights 1 to work in 3D since I believe it is an OpenGL game. Neverwinter Nights 2 works quite well in 3D with the exception of the sky. I would love to get Neverwinter Nights 1 to work in 3D, am I missing something?

RPGS
Mass Effect series especially ME3 is good.
Kingdoms of amalur.
Legends of Grimrock.
Dragon age 1/2[DX9] is pretty good but some people have issues with 2D mouse/hud. There is something helixmod posted and it kind of helps. I only play them at like 70% depth but at that depth its not really a problem for me.
"Hybrids" like dishonored/far cry 3/Borderlands 1/2/Diablo 3/Darksiders 2 are good.

I have some clips on my youtube channel if interested.[of listed borderlands 2 and dragon ages)

Far Cry 3, awesome and immersive
Dead Space 3, outdoor space scenes, wicked
Witcher 2 with Uber Sampling, phat
Trine 2, the best
i must have a look at JC2, again, purchased off Steam, never been installed... too many games.
How did you guys go with Skyrim? only mucked around a little but it didnt seem to pop out as much as other games.
Hi,
so yesterday i broke my cherry lol.
The Nvidia Demo was really amazing after i setup 3d vision and i just wanted to get cracking on and try a few games out.
First impressions were fairly mindblowing. I quickly realised that i need to turn off my dual monitors as that was eating fps after loading up witcher 2 and i had a little fiddle with the depth in-game. One problem i noticed was that even with unlocking the advanced Nvidia controls, i was not able to change the convergence in any game i played yesterday. Also, pressing Ctrl+Alt+Insert to remove the green text in the bottom right corner of the screen was trial and error whether it worked or not. I was able to play around with depth in all the games i played but convergence was an issue (except Trine 2 as the option is there infront of you).
The best results i managed to achieve was in Darksiders 2 (using Helix's mod) and Skyrim which looked pretty amazing. However, in Skyrim there was abit of an issue with the white arrow above a NPC as it was flickering.
I also gave Dead Space 3, Path of Exile, Trine 2 and a couple random games a test to see how 3d worked and all looked pretty fantastic once i started to get a hang of the 3d aspect.
In regards to Witcher 2, this is the game i really want the best effects in as it is one of my favourite games ever but i couldnt achieve the results i wanted. Im not sure if its do with the convergence being locked or my depth but i guess i still need to play around with it.
To be honest with you, i am still a complete noob so yesterday i just literally wanted to play around with the settings and see what 3d can actually do. Im sure after more fine tuning i will be able to achieve the results i want in witcher 2 like those i saw in Darksiders 2/Skyrim.
My eyes were watering up sometimes after looking at text in the bottom, it seemed that when i really decided to up the depth/convergence my eyes found it hard to adjust and i had to turn it down. Im guessing thats to do with crosstalk? Im not sure what the optimum setting is or whether its just a trial and error until you have found a setting that suits you but thats something i need to look into.
Anyways, so far its very impressive and hoping to play around with it more later tonight!
I was never dipping below 30-35 fps so that was nice to see and alot of the time i was on 45-60. Witcher 2 seemed the most demanding game tho by a fair way.

Witcher 2 has convergence locked (but you can change it in the ini.) My advice is, DONT. The witcher 2 is one of the rare games where convergence seemed to be sat exactly right (unless you want to decrease convergence). If you increase it, you will find that arm wrestling mini games etc will be popping past your head! Id advise to just set the depth around 70-90% and should be grand (once you're used to it).
Glad your enjoying it, and finding it impressive. My advice with the watery eyes is, take it easy with depth at first, as you're doing something quite new with your eyes. It will get much much easier on them as time progresses.
One tip i would give is, even though its great to have a fiddle around with the 3D and learn what convergence and depth does and the effect it achieves, don't fiddle around to much! You can end up getting quite frustrating chasing that "perfect" 3D set up for each game.
About turning off your dusl monitor, lol, damn right. 3D really hammers frame rate. Dont forget to use adaptive vsync in nvidia panel and turn off vsync inngame. You will almost certainly always get better frame rates.
Vsync can half your frame rate if its under 60, adaptive vsync only turns on if you need it on, so no screen tearing and smooth.
Adaptive vsync got a load of bad rep, but trust, ive played with it loads, I have not found one game where it isn't the best way to play.
Have another fun night tonight!

A lot of people mentioned turning on advanced settings, but not many mentioned the fact that you have to SAVE your settings in-game, or else your convergence tweaks will reset to the preset NVidia profile. This doesn't apply to The Witcher 2 of course, where you make convergence changes in the game .ini itself.
