Abzu is a masterpiece in 3D! Thanks DarkStar and all Shader hackers!
It's one of the most beautiful 3D vision games I've played - and I've played a lot. I played it in 2D when it first released but am replaying it again because of the fix by DarkStarSword, and I'm in tears as to how amazing the visuals, music and sense of atmosphere are. If I'm feeling depressed - which I have been lately as my cat has terminal lung cancer, and I need things to keep my mind occupied - I just turn on Abzu and go to a meditation shrine and the relaxation begins....Awesome stuff!
I wish the developers could experience their own game on a 4K OLED with perfect 3D. It's sad that this is such a small community with the vast number of gamers ignorant of the amazingness of 3D gaming. There are scenes where it's all black and with the convergence jacked up and my lights off, combined with the perfect blacks of OLED - It feels like the character is a hologram floating in my room!
Thanks to all you guys for keeping 3D gaming alive!
Have to give a shout out to Helifax and his great work on the Frostbite engine. EA should be paying you as the only reason I've purchased their games is because of you.
Unravel is also one of my new favorites in 3D! Thanks DHR. This game is also one of the most beautiful games of this generation. Incredible textures and one of the best soundtracks of the year and....it's free as part of Origin Access. The layers of depth make the game so much more enjoyable in 3D - love converging on the character and having him pop out of the screen.

I bought it for £4 exactly after the patch was done. Played it on a 100" projected screen with the 1080p O/U format.
What an incredible experience that was! Truly breathtaking and a fantastic demonstration of why this interactive medium is superior to all other art forms.
After completing the game in 3D, I then tried it on my Acer Predator X34 with Ultra settings @ 100 FPS... I have to be honest, the experience on that overpriced gaming monitor paled heavily in comparison to the 3D one. In fact, I might have never completed the game had it not been for this incredible 3D.
This brings me to that point you mentioned: isn't it a shame that the creators of this game (and other 3D patched gamed) haven't experienced their own games in this incomparably superior mode?
3D gaming is infinitely more superior to what's now the obsession by tech companies, such as variable refresh rate, 4K, and so on. In fact, the two most significant PC experiences (3D and Ultrawide viewing) are the least focus of both tech companies, and the general consumers.
It's interesting that I started Abzu right after playing Bound on a PS4 Pro in PSVR mode. Despite Bound being a very well made VR experience, there's no question Abzu offered an experience that was unmatched by the overrated VR world.
Oh and yeah of course, this is an unbelievably incredible community. I cannot thank the likes of DSS, helifax, DJ-RK, and all the others enough which have made 3D gaming relevant up to this day. In fact, I am hoping to soon support some of these generous hearts via Patron / PayPal.
