Hi All

Let me explain my situation to solve my problem that many of you are having and forced into discover mode.

I run the Wizard and on the step where it asks me to plug in the emitter, if I have it already plugged in, the SW fails and its forcing into discover mode (I actually think that is where our issue is).

If I unplug and replug it back in, I can then select Generic DLP mode.

There isnt a lot more I can today, as its the weekend, and the engs are hopefully getting some rest.
Just to review since its buried now, this is where this is left at. Can't somebody else at Nvidia run with this--I thought we had mods monitoring issues here? Holidays and CES are over, how much longer do we have to wait for a resolution?

No workarounds or anything? Then you are the first. Hard for it to work if it won't let it be detected, which has been the case for everybody else here.

At least on the new Samsung DLP LEDs, what model do you have? Need to be keeping track of model numbers, no need to muddy the waters for the rest of us that have wasted all this time and patience waiting for a fix without details. Not all Sammy DLPs are the same.
Bah Humbug. Samsung DLP users get coal for Christmas. With holidays and CES probably nothing now until mid-January at least, after which I will have given up checking these boards for updates and these posts with everything Nvidia needs to fix the problems will be buried.

Oh well, Merry Christmas.
I sure called this one. Seems like not one iota of progress has been made on this issue looking at the new posts from Nvidia today! Sorry but my patience is shot. We gave them all the details they needed and they are right here in this thread and nobody even paid attention. I hope they are going to go over it with a fine tooth comb now but I'm not holding my breath. And give us overrides for crappy broken detection routines!

If we've made any mistake, it's relying on this forum. We have to open and keep open our tickets with them. Unfortunately the last time I tried to ping them, I received no reply, that was 9 days ago. I suppose after that all we can do is return the product to the manufacturer as defective.

I really didn't expect much, as I described over holidays/CES. The slap in the face is that the first responses we get after they come back is like we never told them in the first place their "fix" didn't work. [paraphrase on] "Oh, it isn't fixed? We fixed that in 1.19."[paraphrase off] Not only here, but obviously open tickets that weren't closed. I agree if this continues much longer we need to make sure every single person who posts here also opens a ticket, just in case that makes a difference.

So how long has your ticket been open on this?

EDIT: I did go ahead and open a ticket, after I finally tracked down my box with the serial number on it. I'll see what response I get and post here.

My ticket has been open and kept up to date since December 12th, I bought the product about a week before that. Their response after I first opened my ticket was very quick, but since the release of the non-working "fix", they've been completely silent. A new driver is coming out, it'll be interesting to see what the lag time is for the 3D vision update, and if it mentions samsung DLP or not.

yep, had no problems whatsoever. simply hooked up my computer to my DLP sammy, using the 3d sync out and using a dvi to hdmi cable. went through the setup and chose generic dlp, turned on my glasses and presto! no need for a workaround. i was playing RE5 in 3D in 1080p at medium specs on a 9600gt OC (just a single card). also avatar looks amazing. i hope something i mentioned helps people out.

also on a side note, i didnt activate my 3D on my TV until the "test" screen came up where it shows triangles and hexagons(?)

Still didn't say what model Samsung DLP you had, that's the key here.

Ok, that's not one that others have had trouble with. Thanks for clarifying. Whatever Nvidia is doing with their detection, they've obviously overengineered it to have trouble between a couple different generations of seemingly compatible tech from one manufacturer.

Nvidia support ticket entered on Samsung DLP issue detection: over 48 hours ago and no response, when they claim to respond within 24 hours.

I have also PM'ed Andrew asking for some confirmation that engineering is at least looking at this, since it seems they cannot believe everyone was fixed 100% in 1.19. How else can you explain complete lack of progress on this since mid-December? And now again we haven't heard a thing about it since Monday, at this point a "I'm sorry we dropped the ball" would help a lot.

Not sure what else I am supposed to do besides continue to be upset and frustrated this isn't getting the priority it deserves at any level at Nvidia!

Might as well move on to the 1.20 thread since it is broke there too! See that thread for Andrew's response. They are lost on this one and are asking for someone local to help (which I don't get because nobody is going to be lugging their DLP into Nvidia--maybe Nvidia is making a housecall. Seems like more could be done over the phone than has been (which as far as I know is nothing with anybody that actually has the versions of DLP that don't work).
