As for the glasses - yes you will need manufacturers glasses, the one from nvidia will not work - for example I'm using BenQ D5 glasses for 3DTV Play. On a side note it is actually possible to enable 3D Vision for BenQ W1080ST+ so you can use the nvidia glasses, but you can't get rid of the red tint, how to do this also in that post and I can't say it will work for your projector.

This should work provided your projector supports 3DTV Play.

how is the 3d? worth blowing 1000$ on it or id rather spend it on cinema and women lol?

After using a monitor first, the projector is definitely worth it, can't go back to the monitor for 3D. Not saying spending it on women is a bad idea at all :) .
