Hi all. I write this to ask if there is any solution or registry cheat to solve the text displacement in most games. I´m using a Nvidia 7800 GTX + Windows XP + shutterglasses with a 19" CRT monitor, and 162.50 combo driver.
There are lot of games with a good stereo compatibility, but a very few number of them with readable HUD icons and text. Some of them can be played, but others can´t without these HUD informations. This problem is present since I know the nvidia drivers (some years ago), but I have never seen any solution, and there is not a lot of requests in this forum to Nvidia to solve this BIG problem.

I'm currently testing the new Zalman edition stereo drivers.
There's this new feature which sounds like a fix for this text problem, at least this seems to be a logical generic solution to this problem :
CTRL F9 - F10 now call a command called "Cutoff near depth" .
Clearly the text problem occurs in games where the interface is drawn at a certain depth, probably the nearest to the viewer: when setting the convergence for a good 3D effect, the interface is the first to slide out of screen becoming invisible.
I presume the cutoff near depth feature is here to prevent the nearest items from being split into left and right images.
I'm trying to fix it for SOE's Vanguard right now to test this theory but can't seem to find the correct depth setting.
I'd appreciate if someone could confirm the "cutoff near depth" feature works somewhat like described above, and if it does, any hint on how to track the interface depth would certainly help.
For example does it make any sense to look for the intereface between -200 and +200 ? that could take a bit of time to locate...

press Ctrl+F10 once
Save your stereo settings Ctrl+F7,
Alt+tab
if it doesn't work, repeat ragingly until it does (lol), or try to alt+tab to a dif window.
It is still erratic and -I don't know why- it seems to only work randomly.
But it does work with Call of Duty 4, Tabula Rasa, Vanguard, supreme commander.. and anything i tried.
The shortcuts are missing from the 177.83 edition.
you have to use a registry word to get the interface back on screen in games atm.
I can't remember the correct parameter just now but it should still be possible.
Please Nvidia don't forget those in the next release.

But I finaly discovered it really worked by alt-tabbing to desktop and back to the game.
A cut-off near depth setting of +1 is generaly enough to unsplit the interface.
Good job nVidia, lots of game have now become fully playable,
... at least on zalman screens.

Can you list some games that this works for?
I tried Fear and Star Trek Legacy.
