Skyrim I know it's doubtful but?

Downloaded the new drivers, and wow lol, those custom Skyrim crosshairs look awfully familiar..... /haha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':haha:' />

But ya at least everyone will have access to them and not have to take extra steps now to use them.

As for performance, did not notice any major differences with these drivers, FPS indoors was never the issue, only outdoors looking in certain directions or in big cities. I suspect that won't be solved via driver however, will most likely need a client/game engine update for that.

I did not play long enough to see if the 3D crosshair breaking in combat/indoors was fixed, will check that out more later. But I saw in the 3D Vision help text there was an advanced setting for 3D Vision Crosshair Depth. Did anyone see a control or setting for that?

Also looks like no NV Control Panel FXAA in this driver, I guess that does not go live until 295.XX is released.

Dear Chiz,

Wow. Just AWESOME! I had to take the time to personally thank you for this thoughtful and detailed reply of yours. This alone has pretty much solved all of my questions. I modded/tweaked New Vegas to become a phenomenal 3d Vision title and it looks like I will be able to enjoy Skyrim in the same fashion.

This is what forums are for. Very much appreciated.

cheers!

Np, glad it was useful, I scanned a few pages and definitely grabbed some tips from others to get up to speed when setting up Skyrim so a good consolidated rundown was in order. But ya, once you get Skyrim all modded up with custom textures, it really looks amazing. I can't wait until the Creation Kit comes out though to fix some of the persistent problems with the game, like UI or effects. Hopefully we'll be able to fix the water too at that point, as not all water has the transparency problem.

Nope, the way you take the pics is liek this.... if you see a dragon hit " ` " thats a tilda on keyboard for console and type TGM for toggle god mode then type TCM this will allow you to move the camera anywhere in game as all the action takes place around you, then press the key for your screenshots, I prefer fraps as its better quality.!! When you re-type TFC the camera zooms back to where you where, allowing you to walk around like normal :)

EDIT: The only reason you use god mode is so the dragon doesnt fry you as you do your camera work:)

Check this for a nice comparison for pebbles!

I'm hoping these problems get ironed out, as I'm using this game as a test subject to determine whether or not I'll invest in a 3D setup. If the water and moon problem still exist by the time I get to building a new PC, I'll probably just invest in a high-quality, non-3D display instead.

I wouldn't base that decision on one game, it wouldn't make sense. You'd be better off making up a list of your favourite games and searching these forums + solution gaming etc. to see what sort of issues there are.
Just my opinion.

These types of cosmetic issue rarely get fixed. Usually you get one driver release with fixes for a game, rarely is there an improved release from NVidia.
The best chance for a fix is probably modders once Bethesda releases the tools.
The Skyrim 3D experience is really good, if you can look past a couple of small cosmetic issues.
IMO you'll never see "perfect" until devs get on board and start doing the bulk of the work.

Honestly, if you're using this game as a test subject then GET 3D!! You'll notice we keep referring to the same issues over and over again...this is because these are the ONLY remaining issues. This game is GORGEOUS in 3D and I swear every time the stars come out at night I just gawk at the sky (though I am using the Enhanced Night Skyrim mod). There ARE a few remaining issues but they only exist in a small part of the game and I find it extremely easy to ignore them and I tend to be a bit nitpicky about computer graphics. I currently have Crysis 2 and Batman Arkham City installed as well...both of which have high 3D Vision ratings...but when I want to show people what 3D looks like in a game, I load up Skyrim.

Boris and me (only as tester) fixed the shader issues for sky, moons, sun, stars, water (water is fixed only by deactivating refraction shader). There is no need for mods scaling the nif files anymore.
Its looking awesome out of the box.

Put the antifreeze patch and also the the shaderinput into the main skyrim folder.

Thanks Boris!
