Hello guys :) I finally bought this game because it was on sale and had a patch lately. The first thing I want to say is that I'm not disappointed. Graphics, physics, gameplay and dynamic weather work perfectly. Slightly Mad Studios did very great job. With the helix patch, the game becomes even more realistic and immersive. I don't know why the game has not an official support of 3D.
I also want to thank you for your work. In 3D, cockpits of the cars are amazing!!
Unfortunately with the latest helix patch I encounter some minor bugs which are very annoying. Even with reflections on high, MSAA enabled and stretched headlights disabled, the game has bugs inside and outside the vehicles.
These visual bugs affect the bodywork of vehicles, advertising posters on the circuits and drivers shadows on karts.
I enclose few screenshots of bugs that I found until now.

I also noticed that when I only enable FXAA, mirrors display a flat picture. While with only MSAA enabled, mirrors are in 3D but are not at the right depth.
Is it possible to have a flat picture on mirrors when MSAA is enabled?
Thank You :)

Hi - thanks for the feedback. All the issues you post are dead easy to fix, the real problem for me is "finding" them. This game only creates shader files when they get used, so I would literally have to play every car, and every track, in all quality levels. I don't even play the game, let alone do that.
What would help me is if you can do the following:
1. In the d3dx.ini file set these values:
export_shaders = 1
export_hlsl = 3
2. Play the game with the cars and tracks etc where you see issues.
3. When you are done, go to the shadercache directory and zip it up - it will only be about 2MB
4. Attach it here.
5. I can then bulk fix that and create a new update.
Anytime you find any issues - say they release new cars and tracks - just do the same thing and I can fix it.
Regarding the FXAA/MSAA stuff - no I can't make the MSAA mirrors flat, I tried actually but could not do it. I might have another look. I was not aware that FXAA made the mirrors flat, so I could see what is different between them perhaps. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Hello guys!!
Thank You Mike for your help and your quick response :)
So I played with all the cars of the game on the same circuit! The circuits are almost perfect but cars have unfortunately a lot of bugs. Most bugs concern the exterior of the vehicles. Nevertheless, some interiors are totally broken.
I put the shadercache folder on Google Drive because it weighs almost 7MB.

Finally, I post the settings I'm currently using.

Hello!!
It works perfectly with your new fix, Mike, all cars are fixed :)
The game is now playable with any cameras (in car view, cockpit view, chase view...). No major bugs, some shadows renders a bit off as you say in the desciption (mostly when we are in the cockpit view) but the game is still perfectly playable and enjoyable, it's not embarrassing. The rating of the game is between good and excellent. Very good job.
Now, the only thing which is still buggy is mirrors. I have seen that you have fixed some mirrors but lots of mirrors are broken. I don't know if I can help you to patch this bugs but if I can, I will do it.
A big thank you ;) It is a pleasure to play a racing simulation after several years on the Grid series ^^

Great news :-) I'll put a new fix out on the blog. If you see any more of the same issues, just send me the shadercache folder again.
Regarding the mirrors, I'll have another look. If I do find a solution, I will ask for your help again to find the shaders in different cars.
Hello guys :)
With the latest patch, the game is awesome.
Cars are perfect but now, some tracks have some bugs, especially kartings tracks, other tracks seem ok. If you have some time, I found new shaders that are not fixed.
thank you again :)

No problem mike, after more than 20 hours of the game, I have not seen other bugs in the game. Karting tracks are for me the last shaders which are not fixed. Everything else is perfect.

Hi i just bought project cars during the steam sale. I downloaded the fix, but if it rains the water the cars in front of me kicks up is all doubled. Everything else seems to be fine, minus the little rear view mirrors LCD screens in some of the cars, but i know it says thats broken on the page.
I used the fix on the main page but it also says to use flugans wrapper if you are using windows 10. I tried that out afterwards to see if its still there. The menus look alot better with flugans but my shadows are all messed up. But honestly i dont even know if i installed flugans wrapper right since ive never used his before. So i didnt know exactly what to put in.
Can anyone help me with the tire rain problem? or explain how to use flugans wrapper with project cars. Thank you.

Hi - you don't need Flugans wrapper for Windows 10. There is a toggle key for the hud/menus - if at any point they look wrong, toggle that key. It needs to be different for different situations and views. Let me know what car, track and game settings you are seeing the water haloing, I though I had caught all that, but this game has had updates.

Alright i must have read that wrong about the wrapper. I dont know which track i saw it on, but the car was the LMP 1 with the mini LCD screen for a rear view it just doubled in the car. Ive only done 4 or 5 of the career races for that car and it was the 2nd or 3rd track. The track was fine it was just when it started raining half way though the race all the tire rain kick up was doubled. It hasnt rained since then so i havent seen it a second time. I plan on playing the game more tommorow so i will tell you if i see it again. The only other car i have driven it the go-carts and the mustang. Both mirrors were fine it those.
