Risen 3
  4 / 5
I'm looking forward to reviewing the changes to Risen 3. Currently looking for a small dx9 fix using the prime directive from bo3b shaderschool. Wait what am I saying. The tutorial fix would probably be the simplest such fix. The reason is to be able to test my own wrapper. The one for DX9. If helix can't handle preshaders I might need to work around the problem. It might be stupid to work on a DX9 wrapper but then I'm pretty stupid sometimes when I have time to kill. I'm still pretty bad at fixing shaders. Usually don't know where to start or understand the wall of shader code. I located 5 shaders and I would like to confirm that each disables shaders when disabled. According to Helix typing just "vs_3_0" or "ps_3_0" in either PS or VS disables it. If working with my files take note of the unusual folder structure. Everything goes into Risen 3. not system.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.

Hello :-) If I understand well, a fix is impossible because fix preshaders is too dificult? that's it?

I don't know the status currently. I just managed to get my dx9 wrapper running with the hud fix in portal 2 that 4everAwake provided. This is great news if the limitation is in Helixmod. The game effects are still strange and I'm no closer to solving shaders in Risen 3. The speed at which a pro works is quite staggering compared to a noob. I need to look at how preshaders behaves in the disassembler/assembler workflow. Any idea if risen 3 works in 32-bit windows after latest patch.

I'm currently making a fix for Risen 3. It still has some flaws but it fixes the most annoying things. Available here: https://github.com/mx-2/3d-fix/raw/master/download/Risen3-3d-fix.7z

Yes, I was working on Risen 2 until I got stuck on specular highlights. This issue is now on DarkStarSwords TODO list so the Risen 2 fix will be finished in some time. Last week I got Risen 3 on sale and had a first look on it. The shadows were obviously broken and seemed to be the only thing. But after them fixed, the other things became visible. As I haven't played this game yet, I've only the fixed the issues that are visible in the first 5 minutes yet.

I installed the fix and followed the profile instructions but the game crashes to desktop as soon as it launches. I made sure to disable things like EVGA Precision and STEAM in-game overlay. I am on Windows 7 64-bit - is there anything I should try to get it working?

Well it's apparently Steam-related. I installed a cracked version of the .exe so I could play without Steam being loaded and it works. I only got a chance to run around in game for a short bit but it looks amazing - thanks!

Probably you can try deleting SteamOverlay.dll files in steam directory before launching the game - that helped in case of L.A.Noire

I have played over 12 hours of this game in 3D and it looks fantastic. The only issues of note that I noticed so far are the reticle for the large rifles and shotguns render at screen depth and I have seen the occasional issue on what appears to be a water refraction but that pops up very rarely.
