Question is pretty straightforward - has ANYONE gotten a single unreal engine 1 game to work? The light goes green on the emitter, the game info pops up telling me to disable coronas, my framerate drops to 60... and I get no separation. At all.
Anyone figured this one out? It's driving me friggin crazy!
try renaming the exe to fifa09.exe, worked on a few games with the unreal engine.
Nah, same result - only this time I get the message on screen for fifa09. Still no separation.
I'm playing the original fully patched unreal tournament in d3d at 1280x720, in case that matters to anyone.
i play Unreal Tournament 3 Black edition, works great
did you read the note on your screen telling you what to do? you can still read it by hitting
Control + Alt + insert
i remember it said something, just cant remember, lol
Oh yeah, for sure I'd play Unreal Tournament 3 if it was anywhere near as good as the first one. That's the one I'm talking about.
I know about the hotkeys too, and they tell me that I'm playing the game and that I should turn off coronas and volumetric lighting. Makes no difference, naturally.
Is this happening to everyone? I haven't heard of one person that's said an unreal engine 1 game actually works in 3d - yet there's a ton of them listed in the nvidia compatibility list.

Hi,
I have notes about this game but I didn't post earlier because I know that you're asking about help for using it with the 3d-vision system and not the old 3d system so I knew my help wouldn't help. But now you're wondering why it's on the list so I can tell you that. It's because it did work with the old 3d system and they don't always take game titles off of their list once it's on. I didn't want to blow your mind but here goes... The setup my Unreal Gold game works best under is a win98se with a geForce4 card under driver version 30.87. It can work with newer drivers like 56.64 but then the nvidia LaserSight doesn't auto-range properly which it does under 30.87. I really love it when the LS works right. This is an old DirectX 7 game by the way. That probably has something to do with it not working.
I don't have any of the Tounament games but I tried Unreal 2 recently and the problem it has (besdes a bad sky depth) is that it has both 2d highlighting brackets and a 2d targetting reticle. If you set converge to make the brackets look good, then you have trouble using the game-reticle for aiming. If you adjust 3d settings for aiming, then the brackets look bad. Unfortunately, the LS doesn't work for me. It looks like a darn cool game though.
That's all I have for you, sorry I can't help more.
Update: Got Unreal 2 to work OK with a good auto-ranging nvidia LaserSight using winXP / geForce 7800GTX / 77.77. The trick is to disable HW-TnL but this causes some ignorable surface anomalies. The reason I say OK instead of great is because of those anomalies and because so far I can't get rid of the game's 2d reticle. The option to make the reticle disappear only works on part of the reticle. Some of it remains visible. Maybe a console command or an ini edit will fix it for me.

UT2003 is one of the best S3D games I've played (and I have dozens).
UT3 on the other hand isn't quite as pretty, but definitely works in Stereo. It seems all the fancy new rendering techniques mess up S3D which makes the older games look better than the newer ones.

We REALLY need to find a way to force 3d in games that aren't supported. Someone should figure out some of the unknown 3d vision values in nhancer.
