This is my first topic on nVidia forums, I hope I can give some help (and be helped, too  )
So, onto my problem.
I am using an Intel i7 920 with two 280 GTX in SLI, 4GB of RAM, Windows Vista 32 bit Home Premium, and the latest video and 3D drivers (3D Vision CD v1.04). But I had this same problem also with the old CD (v1.03)...
I am using 3 pairs of nVidia 3D glasses with one emitter, projecting the image at 120 Hz with the DepthQ HD 3D projector.
First of all: everything works fine! Connecting the projector to the PC with a complete 15 pin VGA cable, the Stereo Driver correctly recognizes the LightSpeed DepthQ HD projector, and activate the stereo 3D at 120 Hz correctly. I can see the test image in 3D, I can play Mirror's Edge in 3D etc., and everything works fine.
Just a problem: I don't know why, but when I activate the 3D mode, a text comes on superimposed saying that "I am not using a correct stereoscopic 3D video mode. Please consult instructions to select correct video mode" (well, it says something like this).
This text is very similar to the "suggestions" text that appears when launching games. But the "suggestions" text can be toggled using CTRL-ALT-INS combination, while the warning I receive STAYS STICKED, and it cannot be removed: I am obliged to see it for ALL the time the 3D mode is activated!
Please note that, anyway, I am seeing 3D PERFECTLY, at correct 120 Hz and with my DephtQ correctly recognized.
Now comes the weird part of this situation: I have tried several ways to solve this problem (I consider myself to have quite a "good" knowledge of stereoscopic 3D, as I have tried almost severaly stereoscopic solutions in the past), and this is the only one that I have found:
to connect the DepthQ HD *NOT* using a 15 pin VGA cable, but a cable without the plug-and-play pin activated; this way my PC recognize the projector as a "generic" CRT monitor, and I can play at 120 Hz without the overimpressed warning text.
The only problem is that, if I do not make the projector recognized by the system, I have to use the nVidia control panel to MANUALLY create the 1280x720 @ 120 Hz resolution (in fact, it does not recognize 120 Hz as a supported refresh rate without the full VGA cable), and also I must use RefreshLock (a free software that keeps the Hz locked at specific resolutions) to keep it at 120 Hz all the times (or it will revert back to 60/80 Hz as soon as games start).
I know I can also live with this little "hassle", but without the full 15 pin VGA cable, I am also UNABLE to complete the first setup wizard of 3D Vision (it gives me an error), I cannot launch the test application etc. Only games work perfectly, and this is what really counts. But hey, I want that everything works as it should, as I am shure to have all the hardware correctly installed!
So, nVidia, PLEASE let me know where the problem is... Or at least, give us a little, simple key-stroke to ELIMINATE warning texts that can appear overimposed (without reason also, like in my case).
Hope to hear for a solution, but apart this situation... I have to admit that the sum of nVidia 3D Glasses + DepthQ HD projector is by far the best 3D combination I have used since my beginning of stereoscopic play!
Keep up on the good work of supporting the most recent games in 3D!!!

just to point out new findings: it is true that I can play without the overimposed warning text just by making the DepthQ HD projector un-detectable, but it is not true that I can ALWAYS maintain games at 120 Hz (as without the plug-and-play functionality, the PC does not permit to drive the projector ay 120 Hz).
In fact, forcing the non-recognized projector at 120 Hz through RefreshLock, it maintains the 120 Hz only on Mirror's Edge; for example, in Tomb Raider UnderWorld and in Crysis Warhead, it switches back to 60 or 85 Hz, making the game unplayable!
I have tried several ways, but the only one to fix this is TO MAKE THE PROJECTOR RECOGNIZABLE: this way I can correctly play at 120 Hz (also without the needing of RefreshLock), but I have the usual warning text overimposed...
Just to point out: the correct red warning text that pops out whenever I run in stereo 3D mode with the DepthQ HD recognized is the following:
"Warning: attempt to run Stereoscopic 3D in non-stereo display mode, please change to a acceptable mode. See documentation for acceptable Stereoscopic 3D modes."
No need to say that I AM CORRECTLY running Stereoscopic 3D in CORRECT STEREO DISPLAY MODE. Everything works fine, 120 Hz rock-solid, and overall 3D experience almost perfect. Just that text that I cannot delete from the screen...
PLEASE, NVIDIA, HELP WITH THIS!
(I repeat, I just need a key-stroke combination to leave that text from the screen, at least unless you make the things go OK with the DepthQ projector).

Hi There,
We have a bug with our latest driver that doesnt properly include the correct settings forthe DepthQ projector. I have tested it myself and know the exact message you are referring to.
There are two options for you:
- Roll back to the CD 1.0 drivers, available here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_3D_vision_CD_1.0.html
- Wait for our new driver, which is coming out soon. This new driver has all of the correct settings for the DepthQ projector.

I just tried both the new v1.05 beta and the old v1.00 CD... and both of them have the same, old problem!
I confirm again that everything in my setup is connected properly, the DepthQ HD is correctly recognized by the system as itself, and it can be driven at 120 Hz with perfect glasses syncronization. Every game works fine. But there is always that big red text overimposed:
WARNING: ATTEMPT TO RUN STEREOSCOPIC 3D IN NON-STEREO DISPLAY MODE, PLEASE CHANGE TO A ACCEPTABLE MODE. SEE DOCUMENTATION FOR ACCEPTABLE STEREOSCOPIC 3D MODES.
I don't pretend you to immediately correct this problem (I know you are doing your best to keep the 3D Vision problems-free, and that can be seen by how fast you are rolling out new driver versions), but at least... please give me a registry manual modification or a patch to CANCEL that text from my screen! I just need this to live with these *otherwise perfect* drivers... (like the CTRL-ATL-INS combination to remove the suggestions)
Really, I can also be happy with a simple .reg file to modify the registry to remove that text...

Hi
Im sorry to hear its not working. Can you report your Operating System (32-bit or 64-bit) and HW you are using?

Hello again Andrew,
I have already reported my hardware on the first post, anyway this is it:
CPU: Intel i7 920
MB: Asus P6T Deluxe
RAM: 3 x 1 GB in triple channel
Video: 2 x nVidia 280 GTX in SLI
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit
Audio: Sound Blaster X-Fi
I confirm that EVERYTHING works fine and with great results (no bottlenecks or errors anywhere in my hardware chain).
Latest sound drivers, latest MB bios, latest Microsoft Vista patches etc. already installed.
Hope this can help you... And so can help me :) Let me know!
We recently acquired a DepthQ projector, an EVGA GTX 470, and the NVIDIA 3D Vision shutter glasses and emitter.
Our configuration includes I5 Quad, 4GB ram running Windows 7 64bit. In addition we are using, the latest graphic drivers download 1.38.
The stereoscopic viewer activates and the 3D demos display correctly, but we receive the following message:
Warning: Attempt to run stereoscopic 3D in non-stereo display mode, please change to a acceptable mode. See documentation for acceptable Stereoscopic 3D modes.
I have checked the forum and tried just about every recommendation, but no success thus far. Does anyone know of a fix or workaround for this issue? Thank you...

I called DepthQ and they sent me an EDID to import. This removed the warning, but for nvidia 3D vision, they still have a problem with the left eye right eye being inverted (so I need to wear my shutter glasses upside down), which is ridiculous. I haven't tried the new NVIDIA Quadro 6000 driver, so I will post if updating the driver works.

Hope this helps!

and thank you very much for your confirmation!
Now I know that my case is not an isolate one... I will wait for new drivers, then.
Again, thank you for reading your customers' messages, this is a real demonstration of "customer care".
Keep up the good work!

Hi
Just to let you know, the 1.05 CD is available now to download. Please let me know if it fixes your problem.

Hi again Andrew,
I just tried both the new v1.05 beta and the old v1.00 CD... and both of them have the same, old problem!
Looking forward to your reply,
bye

Have a good day, bye!
