EverSpace (space action shooter)
  2 / 2
Its on sale now for $7 at GMG... personally I wouldn't bother with it for VR... I just threw away $13 on Eve:Valkirie for the VIVE and can confirm these space games in first person view are complete yawnfests. Its not convincing at all that your in a ship, and you just wobble your view around while "thrusting" here and there Personally I found it to be completely ridiculous, maybe your mileage may vary (its also completely flat with barely any depth/convergence I might add... it would probably be alot better if you could increase the strength of the 3D). Sadly the developers of Everspace do not think that VR should have a third person option. The game still might be worth the $7 if it worked in 3D Vision I guess.

Works well enough with DHR's universal UE4 fix (some broken reflections and distant shadows, but nothing major). I started fixing the HUD to make it a little more playable and haven't gone back to it since. Could post up what I have so far. Might even fire it up tonight just to take another look (make sure no updates have broken anything). Edit: Tested. Some HUD shaders (ie. crosshair) have been changed since I last looked at this, so my existing WIP is of little use. Would need to update, which would take some time, but it's a bit discouraging to even bother since HUD shaders generally are not a good fit for regex fixes and are therefore not able to be made "future proof" against updates breaking them. In other words, I could do the work to refix them just to have them be broken in the next update, so unless I feel like actually playing the game then I probably won't bother. We'll see, can't make no promises since I currently can't seem to find the time or motivation to do much gaming/fixing these days.

Since I just posted this in another thread, figured I may as well post here in case someone specifically searches for this game. Here is a personal fix I made for myself about a month ago to make it playable. Game is awesome with a HOTAS, btw, just make sure to turn off the input smoothing option in the controls menu, and I personally set my axis sensitivity to 0.5 for any axis controlled by my joystick. Hotkeys for the fix: Capslock: Switch between suitable convergence/HUD settings between cockpit view and 3rd person view (3rd person view by default) F1-F3: Low, medium, and high convergence for 3rd person view F4: Adjust HUD depth (only use for 3rd person view) \: Disable HUD Honestly, I only play in 3rd person view. I literally just added the Capslock hotkey just now as a quick solution to accommodate for people that might prefer the cockpit view. It will switch back to the 3rd person view setting after each jump or encounter, which might be slightly annoying. If you know you will always play in cockpit view, then change the section: [PresetGame] convergence = 1250 z=0.95 to be [PresetGame] convergence = 100 z=0 Download: https://www.mediafire.com/file/1bflxrktzi2z16d/Everspace_WIP.zip
