The new 3D engine was reconstructed for the latest OpenGL and comes with a better looking post process (like better ambient occlusion, shadow), and support for both Windows 7 and Windows UWP. The post effects can be disabled and players will be able to switch to the legacy texture packs.
Furthermore, these remasters properly support Xbox 360/One controllers, include the Unfinished Business & The Golden Mask DLC packs, and come with numerous bug fixes.

Yep, just read it on PC Gamer. They didn't get permission from SqaureEnix first. BOOM!
The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. Instead of altering their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views ... which can be very uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.
That's a shame. Eidos had nothing to lose, it seemed win win to me. Core design did a shitty job on the early games for the PC. They were alright on consoles.
It would have been nice to see controller support with this remake that was canceled..
Oh well...
If anyone's interested, you can pick up Tomb Raider Legend for $0.97 atm on Steam. Published by Eidos Interactive, it is the first game in the series not to be developed by Core Design, but by Crystal Dynamics and was ported nicely to the PC by Nixxes.
