Just ordered the Samsung 2233RZ from amazon and the 3D Vision Kit from nvidia.com. I thought I'd ask a few questions so I know what to expect when it arrives.. Basically I'm wondering if I will still be able to have a good experience with 3D gaming with only a 9600GT? I have the i7-920 stock clock so processor won't be a problem. I have no problem buying a better GPU but I'm really trying to wait until the GT300 line gets released, as I'm very interested in purchasing a high end Fermi card when the do come out (which hopefully will be sooner rather then later) But yeah so - From now until I purchase a new high end Fermi GFX card, while I have the 9600GT with 1GB VRAM will I still be able to have a relatively good gaming experience with 3D enabled? Thanks

Give it a shot first before buying a new GPU. I run a 8800 GTS and I can run most games at high/ultra high @1600x1200 w/ 3D Vision. ...look at my measly specs in my sig. :)

That card is pretty weak to be running 3d vision especially if it's not sli. You should have waited and got a new gpu first. Your setting yourself up for disappointment. You just bought a Porsche with a Kia motor, sure it may work but it ain't the same.

Actually, I think they did the right thing... 3D Vision will sap 40% of the performance... so when they finally upgrade the video card, it's an upgrade... if they got the video card first, then they would get a bump in performance with the card upgrade, get used to having 60 FPS with all the settings maxed, and then see performance degradation from the 3D Vision kit.
Just my 2 cents... but that's how I'm doing it. I have the 8800 GTX, and am actually still running around 30 FPS in 3D mode. It's not bad at all, if it wasn't for the ghosting.

Thanks for the info guys. It is sad that nvidia delayed the Fermi line until Q1 '10 it did piss me off. I really would love to go and buy a really high end G Card right now but I simply can't knowing that Fermi is just over the horizon and I know I will regret it if I do buy one now.. But as for now when I do get my stuff, do you think I will still be able to play most games in 3D without much of a problem of med (or even low) settings? If I could even that would be good enough until I get a new card.. I just want them to be released already..

Believe it or not, the 8800 is actually a pretty big step-up from the 9600 /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Is there anybody on these forums who had experience testing out 3D on a 9600GT? Bah, why am I even asking? I mean what is going to happen will happen weather or not I know beforehand.. Oh well lol.

Your CPU is so much better than mine too though. But yeah, I didn't know what to expect when I got my glasses. I ordered the glasses and bought a used 8800 for $40 'coz it was the minimum GPU requirement, lol. Avatar the game runs AWESOME if I am forcing 3D by toggling it on (how most games work w/ nVidia 3D Vision), but in-game enabling 3D (Avatar is the only game that has a built in 3D mode in the options so far that I know of) causes serious performance hits. I don't know why when I KNOW I can run the game in S3D with great performance otherwise. Sorry if none of this makes sense since your new to 3D Vision and all.
