I've got nvidia 3d vision glasses and the ir emmitter on my PC and all the sample pics work perfectly, but I'm a bit thick and thought that I could buy 3d movies and simply watch them /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
So I bought final destination 3D as a tester, but it comes with the 1970's blue and red glasses and it only seems to work with these sh!tty old glasses.
I can see from the screen that it's a different kind of 3D technology and that I can set my computer to suit the type of 3D being viewed, but obviously, I can't change the fact that the dvd is formatted in the blue and red 3D type. (Scuze the non technical language!!)
So at the moment, I've got this amazing 3d computer, which I can only watch 1970's 3D technology on!
Please can somebody tell me if I can buy 3D movies which actually USE the same technology supported by nvidia and what I need to look out for/where to buy?

First, not to ask a stupid question as you did not mention it, but I assume you have a 120mhz 3d vision ready monitor or Nvidia compatible 3d tv? If you don't, then you won't be able to watch 3d in any fashion. Assuming you do, then you will need to purchase software to allow your computer to play the 3d blu ray movie (not cheap, usually around $75-$100 unless you can find it on sale), or have a dedicated stand alone 3d blu ray player hooked up via HDMI. Sorry, but you can't just pop in the disk. If you don't have a stand alone 3d blue ray player, then you will need a program such as Cyberlink Power DVD 11 or Arc Soft Total Media Theater 5 (which I use) that will specifically pay 3d blue ray movies on the PC. You also need a true 3d blu ray movie, not one that uses the red and blue glasses, total garbage. If you want an inexpensive demo disc try picking up one of the Imax 3d movies, there are a couple available for $15-$20 (Tahiti Ultimate Wave, Secrets of the Pharaohs, Grand Canyon). You can also go to a website like Hidefdigest.com and look through their blu ray reviews for the 3d specific titles to get an idea of what is good.

The first movie i got was one of the IMax ones, "ocean paradise" or something like that I think it was. The 3D effects are pretty good and it definitely makes a difference to the viewing experience :)
