I bought the Asus vg236h about a month ago, and noticed the terrible ghosting at the top. More than ghosting really, double images.
I disabled USB2 on the USB controller which I had the 3d vision emitter attached to in device manager. Without a reboot, headed to test image, perfect 3d goodness. Games are the same.

Massive, massive difference. No more top ghosting!

What i want to know is if something like that could cause that much crosstalk, what of the other myriad of components and code in a computer could cause a small amount. Andrew, would being able to offset the timing of the shutters by milliseconds or microseconds help us? It seems like if we could postpone the shutters a tad ,it might help.

In device manager, double click the "Enhanced USB Host" or similar. Go to the advanced tab, it'll show you what's connected to that controller. Once you find the one that 3d vision is running on, disable that Enhanced USB host, that should disable USB2 instantly, least it did for me.

I just tried your fix... and omg!! It works for me!!!!
I was having to run at 100hz in games and playing 3d blurays just to minimise the amount of ghosting.
I am now running at 120hz in games and 3d bluray and they look fantastic!!
I think there still is a very small amount of ghosting present in my games but its very subtle so I dont mind so much.
Hey andrewf@nvidia could you possibly look into why this seems to mostly fix the 20% ghosting at the top issue? Maybe it can be incorporated in the next driver or something...
Thanks again Monkeysocks /thanks.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thanks:' />

In the original ghosting thread, some users found that using another usb controller with video cam or an USB PCI card also fixes the problem.
[/quote]
I found that helped it somewhat, when I had my webcam on while playing, the amount of ghosting was dependent on how much USB bandwidth was being used. Ex: if I had the camera going at 320x240, I'd have slightly less ghosting than not having the camera on. If the camera was going at 1280x720, there would be even less ghosting.
Disabling USB2 was the ultimate fix for me though. I'd say it's pretty damn close to perfect.

Ok I tried that. But when I started a game the glasses seemed to go in and out of sync. But every 10 seconds or so there would be a PERFECT 3d image, for about a second. So yeah, I can see now that it IS possible to have a completely ghost free experience, if only timings were adjustable.
But, I can't get it to run stable with the usb hub disabled. I'll try other ports. /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

When I disabled the USB2 the glasses are getting complete out of sync/flickering. Then I reduced the refreshrate from 120Hz to 100Hz and now its working perfect; even Dragon Age 2 which has a fair amount of ghosting, especially with high convergence settings! Nearly no ghosting, only some on very bright surfaces within dark surrounding. 110Hz also fails... Anyone else got this problem with 120Hz? Is ther any fix for this?

IT WORKED!!!! I can not beleive it. Thank you so much for this easy fix Monkeysocks! I just tested out Fallout:NV (which was the worst for me)and there was no ghosting. I also tried out Mafia 2 and sure enough no ghosting there either. I got it cranked up to about 50% and everything looks GREAT.

When i disable the hub the nvidia ir is on, the glasses run like a dog and it flashes and goes berserk. it does seem to remove the ghosting, but considering im seeing right eye the left its hard to say its not an optical illusion. Strange how it doesnt work at all for me though when it works for you, im using a p6t motherboard.

I disabled USB2 on the USB controller which I had the 3d vision emitter attached to in device manager. Without a reboot, headed to test image, perfect 3d goodness. Games are the same.
