If you are using EDID overrides of stuff like that, start from there. Disable all your HACKS and see what causes it...
Remember this is HELIX dll and DX9 so we CAN'T change the code of the wrapper since we don't have the source, but is less likely that it needs changing anyway as it works for everyone else...

Oh, I know why the injector version is not working - if you are running the game through Steam on a 64bit OS it will have downloaded the 64bit version of the game, but the Helix injector is 32bit only.
This procedure should work to force Steam to download the 32bit version, but I have not finished testing this myself (My internet is slow - I'm still in the download step):
Go Start->Run and enter:
steam://open/console
This will make a new tab appear in steam. In that console, enter:
download_depot 237850 237851
This will start downloading 8GB of files to c:\...\Steam\content\app_237850\depot_237851. Once that has finished, copy the files from there over the top of the ones in the game directory (which you may want to back up first).
You might find you can use the regular 32bit version of Helix Mod with that version of the game, but if not the injector should work.
Note that you may run into trouble whenever the game is updated as Steam might replace some of the files with 64bit versions - repeating this procedure should fix it.

DHR and helifax - very interesting. The EDID mod IS creating the issue; rather, it is probably the Optimized for NVIDIA GeForce library that the EDID mod enables. With the EDID removed, I am forced to use the TERRIBLE 3DTV Play and its library calls - but the 3D looks great, and the game does not crash.
This is the first game I have encountered where the EDID/Optimized for NVIDIA GeForce mod has created a problem with 3D Vision rendering. Perhaps the issue may be related to 64-bit game and older 32-bit libraries?
DarkStarSword - thanks for the additional suggestions. Where is the file depot_237851 located, after the console command is executed? I much prefer using the EDID mod, with its 60 fps capability and higher resolution, rather than using 3DTV Play...

@whyme466:
- Yes, very interesting that it behaves like that. When you are using the EDID override can you change the resolution or try a different refresh rate? Maybe you can find something that works;)
- Also did you disable "Enable 3D on startup" from the registry? (This setting basically automatically enables 3D Vision when a game starts or the app starts in 2D mode and you need to manually CTRL+T for 3D).
If you disabled try to leave it to ON (Default state). I saw this makes weird behaviour in DX9 games and for me any DX9 game crashes on startup with it disabled, but works fine if enabled;)

DarkStarSword - When I attempted to run game with either 32-bit d3d9.dll or helixmod.dll, I received the following error message:
Unable to load mono library from "F:/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Dreamfall Chapters/Dreamfall Chapters_Data/Mono/mono.dll" (error = 126),
and the game quits. Note that the game is not running on my C: drive. Does "-force32" launch command work with this game?
helifax - unfortunately, the LG's interleaved 3D only displays correctly with Desktop set in native 3840x2160 60 Hz mode, when the EDID is enabled. This means that in-game scaling is the only way to change 3D resolution, and in-game scaling does not work correctly for interleaved display in most games. 3D is enabled upon startup. The only item changed in the Registry is managed by 3DVisionEyeSwapper.exe, performing the following:
1.Open the registry key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D (for 64 bits Windows) or HKLM\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D (for 32 bits Windows).
2.Write the value 0xFF00FF00 (instead of 0x00FF00FF) to the keys InterleavePattern0 and InterleavePattern1.
3.Monitor these keys and when they get changed by 3D Vision service, quickly write back the 0xFF00FF00 value.

I'm using the EDID 4k mod and it works for me. The only thing I noticed is that post processing effects seem broken to me and I've set them to minimum and the game looks perfect.

The 32bit download probably hadn't finished, or failed partway (this happened to me while I was testing it as well). The only other way I know of off-hand to download a 32bit version from Steam is to use steamcmd, but this isn't as easy to use as the main Steam program. If you wanted to try anyway, the instructions are on this page:
https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD#Cross-Platform_Installation
To force it to download 32bit versions, you must run these commands before starting a download:
@sSteamCmdForcePlatformType windows
@sSteamCmdForcePlatformBitness 32
Edit: Hmmm, curiously it looks like the above commands are supported in the Steam console as well, but I haven't tried them and I'm not sure if they work there. I wouldn't particularly recommend using them on your main Steam installation in case it starts replacing other games with 32bit versions.

Little heads up that there is an update coming out soon that includes an engine update and will therefore very likely break the 3D Vision mod until I have a chance to update it (on the positive side, they are adding DX11 support so I'm pretty tempted to switch to 3DMigoto for this update).

Version 5.4 has been in beta for almost one week, and is now moving to the main branch. There are some additional fixes and updates in the latest version. Please see the patch notes below for more information.
This major and long-delayed update includes full German localisation for the final two episodes, along with Unity engine upgrades and support for DirectX 11.
Please note that this is not The Final Cut patch, which we plan to release alongside the PlayStation and Xbox versions this spring. Existing customers will receive a free upgrade to The Final Cut edition, and we plan to sunset previous editions of Dreamfall Chapters.
Patch notes
Version 5.4.1 includes:
German voices for Book 4 and 5, and other localisation fixes
DirectX 11 support. If your video card is compatible, there should be noticeable performance improvements
New startup video and opening credits
Unity engine upgrade. This improves performance and fixes a number of bugs and glitches
Various audio fixes
Fix for pausing game when alt-tabbing out while in fullscreen mode
Fix for rare inventory bug
Fixed stuck head look-at

Patch was pushed today;)
I wonder if the "older" DX9 is still available and if the fix will still work with it ?
