I don't know why I am wasting the words, but here goes. You still have problems with the dynamic shadows not rendering correctly. The screen shots you shared that supposedly prove you don't do not show any dynamic shadows. However, the shots that do show them show obviously that you have the dynamic shadow rendering issue. The reticle looks good because of the lower depth difference between screen depth and maximum scene depth. Yet, even at the smaller depth there is some doubling since the reticle is still at zero level. The same effect can be created on a smaller screen by reducing the depth and tweaking convergence, and often doing that can make certain games playable, such as RTSs and games with a lot of screen depth items. The larger the screen reported to the drivers, the smaller difference there is between 1% and 100% depth. The smaller screens simply have a much higher 100% depth to make up for their smaller size.[/quote]

So I have been testing and trying to recreate your claimed effects. It turns out that the shadows don't look half bad if the convergence is set low (away from the screen significantyl), but as the convergence gets towards the screen the shadows get more and more wacky. There are still the problems of lighting highlights at screen depth and the reticle at screen depth though. Even though the shadows are still not rendering correctly, the effect is much less noticeable with convergence set well away from the screen. Trying upping the convergence and you will likely see what I mean.

Having screen depth lighting highlights and screen depth reticle is hardly perfect. However, because the depth is so low in comparison and the convergence is set so far away from the screen, the perceived problems are mitigated. It has nothing to do with the DLP screen as I can easily recreate the effect on my plasma and LCD. The problems are still there though, just not as noticeable. The advantage that DLPs have is less ghosting, however, they cannot magically alter the way the gpu(s) render the game in 3d.

I really would like to turn off crosshair. I can't believe there is no ini settings that can be added. nvidia 3d crosshair works fine but with the screen depth one, my eyes cross each other.
Here is what I experience:
- shadows are offset. Check out one of these dead mutants when they end up on a chair or something. half the shadow is flying in the air.
- there are issues with convergence and object collisions (like these partially broken glass windows where you drill go through them - when you have to use remote hack stuff)
- crosshair at screen depth makes you miss shot if you have a lots of depth
- if you use convergence, the bid daddy helmet (sides) is at screen depth and conflicts with real objects popping out of screen.
- I got awful ghosting in the water, whatever the settings... (that sucks real bad)
Now on the good side, it seems bioshock 2 is must less dark than the first. specially with the glasses which are supposed to cut it in half.
I have yet to turn off the 3d option setting in game to see if it really makes a difference.
THEY NEED TO FIX AT LEAST THE OBJECTS AT WRONG DEPTH (like cross hair) or turn them off.
I haven't played with POV yet but will, and report here.

I just don't get the cross-hair problems you guys are having. I don't play with more than 50% Depth anyway, and I always thought it took away from a game when you have 3d cross hairs and reticules. Just me. I have no problem playing the game without a profile, but again I don't need everything to be perfect.

I can very often ignore crosshairs or other anomalies (did that in fear 2 and that one was a lot of fun in 3d), it is only really an issue to me for a couple of reasons.
A-) This game was supposed to be 3d compatible and yet I cannot even disable the crosshair.
B-) The crosshair is huge and obnoxious.
Most of the time I don't use the 3d crosshair, as I would rather not have it in the way, except in certain games where it is difficult to judge where I am shooting.
Besides, if there is going to be a patch that improves the situation I might as well wait for it. /sweat.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
