I’m just starting out w/ 3d so I know nothing… I’m trying to play Battlefield 3 because it says specifically that it’s 3dtv play ready.
My issue is that I get a green hue around all the dark shadows in the game… To describe it correctly would be to say I can’t focus things that are close to me and things that are far from me at the same time. Like my character in the game is near sited or far sited. If I go to the Nvidia 3d test thing that spins the logo I can focus the surroundings but when the logo gets “close” to me it’s out of focus. Why can’t I focus near and far objects separately??? Is that just the way it is??? (That would be crap) I’ve tried other games with the same result.

Hold your finger in front of your nose. Now try and focus on that, and the wall on the other side of the room at the same time. You can't. That's because you're seeing in 3d.
What's happening here is that you're not yet used to viewing things in 3d, and the depth/convergence are too high for you. Enable the advanced shortcuts in the nvidia control panel, and use them to dial things back a bit while you get used to it.

I did. Perhaps I'm jumping in too fast. If the glasses are a bit big could that make a mess of things for me? Are some glasses better than others? Last question... Would a pc monitor be better?
I made the decision to go with the Panasonic because I didn’t know enough about computers to deal w/ 3 screens or 3d. Now I think I may have been wrong. I know the obvious … 120fps vs 60fps 720 and 1080 on and on… but actually that much better in use?

Hold on a sec. Your kind of a bit all over the place. I am having trouble following because one point it seems you are decribing a vision issue/ the other a display so we got to see if we can sort it out. Lets see if we can figure it out before going crazy.
------------------------------------------------------
Display
Let me explain. Every display is different. Its possible its a display issue that just not being described to understanding[no offense. we were all new at one point] and it just sounds like a vision issue. We throw around a term called ghosting. Ghosting is the bane of 3D displays, basically unless you research a display ahead. You cave have a DOA[dead on arrival] 3d display. Start game up in 3D. Close one eye. Do you see a 2D image meaning nothing is doubled. Repeat for other eye.
Example
[img]http://3dvision-blog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/torchlight-stereo-3d-ghosting.jpg[/img]
My main confusion is this "green hue".
If you understand previous example of ghosting and its not that. Does tilting your head change increase/ decrease this effect in both/either eye.
If you have a camera. Point at each lense in glasses seperate. When in game and you can see it.
------------------------------------------------------
Now onto vision
3D does take some adjusting for most. Some adapt right away/ Some cant handle 3D at all or unless limited. Some people have issues with headaches/eye tiredness/whatever when they first start mainly because they expect max settings right off the bat and don't allow themselves to adapt.
Reduction of settings [like depth/convergence] may be necessary for a time. Like you are describing to me you can deal with "pop-out". Like when objects exceeds 2D and comes toward you. If thats the problem you need to reduce convergence in game.
Do this..
[This does not apply to BF3 cause it uses its own renderer...long story. Use a different game]
-Make sure you know what convergence is and how to use. Nvidia control panel->set up stereoscopic 3d->set keyboard shortcuts-> advanced.
Assign keys. and hold down for a few seconds in game[at most 30] till you see screen shift. If you look at left/right RE5 images it sums up what convergence is. Depth is same in both shots but convergence is changed. http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2012/06/how-to-unlock-convergence-in-locked.html
Now go into game and make it so the closest object [Like go right up to a wall or in a Fps your gun] appears 2D with glasses off. If this is an improvement on the issue, it may just be time will cause you to adjust. Think of it as using muscles you've never used. Play like that for a day or two then slowly increase convergence.
Most important thing with 3D especially with vision issues is moderation. Second is patience.
