Not Working; 7600GT & XP!
I've got a Nvidia GeForce 7600GT Graphics Card and am using Windows XP. I'm

trying to get the 3d stereo drivers working (for red/cyan analyglyph glasses)

but they arn't appearing in the nvidia control panel.

In system information panel --> Components Tab
STEROL.DLL is there but file version and product name are both unavaliable?

At the moment I'm using ForceWare version 169.21, I'm haven't upgraded to the

latest because the 50meg download is pretty hefty all the time.

I've currently tried

174.76_Stereo.exe = (for windows vista only, dosen't want to install)
91.31_forceware_3dstereo.exe = (Installs alright, but nothing appears in the

control panel)
StereoE16250-[Guru3D.com].exe = (Installs alright, but nothing appears in the

control panel)

and I'm unable to get it working?
any ideas?

There are a few ways for you to try out stereo3d in anaglyph mode. Here are two of them:

Nvidia way:

When you need to run stereodrivers on xp you also need a special "regtweak" to enable the classic menue. The stereodriver settings are in there.

For simplicity you can copy the following lines into a textfile. Then rename that file to "classicpanel.reg". To add the settings into registry, doubleclick the file and answer yes on the question about adding to registry.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NvCplApi\Policies]
"ContextUIPolicy"=dword:00000001
"TaskbarUIPolicy"=dword:00000002
"CplGroupUIPolicy"=dword:00000003
"SedonaDisable"=dword:00000000

To launch the classic panel you should right click your desktop and select "properties","settings" and click the "advanced" tab. If stereodriver is installed you should have the stereosettings among the other parameters.

Newer betastereodrivers have way better support with multicorecpu's. If you plan to run an old one (91.31 f.ex.) you need to disable all but one cpucore.

If you have nvidiastereo installed you need to at least disable the nvidiastereodriver. I can run my comp with both drivers installed but need to disable the one i don't use for the moment.

Install the newest stereodriver from iz3d or mtbs3d.com (now it's 1.08 version). The anaglyph- and iz3d-monitor-modes are free while you have to pay a fee to get support for other solutions. You should also download the documentation of the stereodriver from the site about settings and how it works.

cheers
