Early Metro 2033 3D Screenshots
  1 / 2
These are from -very- early in the game, so there's no real spoilers here. Again, I think the screenshots don't really do it justice, in motion it looks totally different. The frame rate on a GTX 275 is right on the borderline though.. definitely a hardware selling game. These were taking at the "High" graphics setting. "Normal" is a major step down, but a giant boost in framerate. I haven't yet seen how to strike a balance inbetween. I'm using the pulled 196.75 drivers with the fan cranked to 100%.

Hmm, I suppose I was vague. I mean they're from the beginning of the game. This is the finished game.

Looks great. But 3D won't turn on in DX10 mode. Performance in DX9 is very bad. DX10 is much better. (GTX295)

3D won't turn on in DX10!? Are you sure!? So if I have a GTX295 card I can't enjoy this title in 3D?

I seem to be able to. I switched it to DX10 and then restarted the game. I have 3D set to be on by default when a game launches.

Also, I took those screenshots in Dx9. I haven't dont a visual or framerate comparison, but Dx10 seemed to run ok.

Does 3D work with Dx11?
Does the gamework well with driers 196.21 or is it better to go for the dodgy 196.75?

I am considering getting the game late today.

I can't get it to do 3D and DX10 at the same time. I'll hold judgement until the new drivers are out though.

You do need some serious hardware to play this game. Here is what I found:

Minimum System Requirements:
* Dual core CPU (any Core 2 Duo or better will do)
* DirectX 9, Shader Model 3 compliant graphics cards (GeForce 8800, GeForce GT220 and above)
* 1GB RAM

Recommended System Requirements:
* Any Quad Core or 3.0+ GHz Dual Core CPU
* DirectX 10 compliant graphics card (GeForce GTX 260 and above)
* 2GB RAM

Optimum System Requirements:
* Core i7 CPU
* NVIDIA DirectX 11 compliant graphics card (GeForce GTX 480 and 470)
* As much RAM as possible (8GB+)
* Fast HDD or SSD

Enabling Nvidia 3D Vision:
Metro 2033 utilizes NVIDIA 3D Vision with compatible cards and hardware. To play in 3D you will require:
* NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275 and above recommended
* A 120Hz (or above) monitor
* NVIDIA 3D Vision kit
* Microsoft Windows Vista or Windows 7

I have GTX285, quadcore with 4gigs of ram and windows 7 Ultimate. My card just makes the 3d vision specs, WOW. I guess this is another Crysis...

Game does look great in 3D (even though it's not officially supported ?) I have a plain bfg 275 and it's choppy but totally playable but I just went with whatever the game put the settings at and I must have 3d set up to auto start with the games, but the FOV most definitely needs fixed.
It has the wonky aiming system (engine) from Stalker that's for sure.
Great game, cant wait to see what a GTX 480 does for it.

Great 3D screens.

(no fermi count down widget/gadget I guess ?)
