Is the 3d vision kit really nessesary? New user with some questions
I recently purchased a 55" Samsung LCD display. I specifically chose this television instead of the equivalent Sony 3DTV because the Samsung supports checkerboard. I am using the 3DTV Play 14-day demo and have good results from running in 720p/60Hz. There hasn't been much new information about making 3DVision work on Samsung displays other than ancient threads about the rollermod. And I have a few questions...
Since in order to use 3DVision, you have to have the 3DVision kit, but you're not even using the glasses or IR transmitter... isn't the whole purpose just to get a 3DVision license? Is there any way to purchase just a license? Why not offer the choice between 3DVision or 3DTVplay? Or just unlock 3DVision when you buy the 3DTV Play?

If you are going to play on a television, you dont need the glasses/emitter, you will use the television ones, and you will just play with 3DTV play (it is 3D vision but for Televisions)
But, if you are going to use a 120hz 3D Vision "monitor", you will need the 3D Kit (probabily the monitor doesn't come with glasses), with the nvidia emitter and glasses, the 3DTV only allows you to use your own TV glasses for an experience close to 3D Vision, but in 720p
