I think if a Samsung can do the 30fps sequential in 1080p, its worth considering just for that, and of course, i'd still really like to see CB.
I think somethings wrong with frame packing on that Samsung though, thats looks like my Sony when i have image sharpening on. I sure as hell don't have that problem on my Sony, 3D framepacking looks just like 2D in a non-3D resolution... and 2d on my Sony looks just like 2d on my Dell 30" aside from the obvious difference in resolution.... that is a fact. Sony doesn't seem to change anything when setting the hdmi input "label" to "PC", nothing changes...
So unfortunately frame packing on certain Samsung models looks like crap. Yet, in an evil twist, certain Samsung models hold the key to 3D picture quality that is arguably better than 720p framepacking along with better modes, like 30fps sequential and the use of 3d vision and its capabilities, like web browsing in 3D. Yet Samsungs, from my Tv buying research, should be well researched before purchasing because of input lag and ghosting problems. There is not a single LED Samsung on my potential Tv list right now, but ill research them more if i run into a good one. I wonder if the un468000 LED has the the framepacking problem.

When comparing FS vs FP consider that it's not just 30fps vs 24fps, when you play 3D games in Frame sequential mode, it's actually 1920x1080p60hz, not 30hz, so it's much better than 1080p24hz.
Sony TV has excellent picture quality, my friend has a 52" 3D Bravia. But I don't own a LED TV and I agree that Sony LED is considered the best picture, but Sony doesn't make plasma. Plasma is much better for 3D, there's no arguing on that. I've seen some BD3D and played PS3 in my friend's house and I can say that his Bravia has far more ghosting issues than my Samsung plasma. Bluray3D is close to perfection in a plasma, but games varies, it really depends, just like using a 120hz display, but with much deeper blacks. in terms of ghosting, I don't see big differences playing games with 3Dvision comparing my Samsung plasma and alienware 120hz LCD display. On the other hand playing bluray3D or any SBS 3D video my Samsung plasma just crushes my LCD display. ghosting is far more noticeable in LCD display and 3D picture quality overall is outstanding on Samsung 3D ready plasma. Games 3D quality it really depends on drivers, not just the actual display, I think.
On the other hand Panasonic has the best plasma display, but doesn't have CB and FS.
I guess FP (video mode) in a samsung TV sucks compared to Sony, Panasonic, no arguing there, but if I can use 3Dvision's CB 1080p60hz 60fps and FS 1080p60hz 30fps with perfect 3D quality to play games in a 63" plasma screen; Why would I care about FP??????
Nvidia, just put a timer on CB's red message, just that. simple code, I don't think this need to be scheduled.
Believe me when I tell you, CB looks almost identical to FS and both look better than FP 1080p video mode, so I can play any game at 60fps an don't even notice that is just half resolution per eye.
Off course some games I'll play in FS that are playable at 30fps and there's a bunch, just to try to see some differences. I can't explain, but first time I tried CB was with Tridef and I didn't like at all. I really want to try Tridef again, cause I'm having the impression that 3dvision's CB is much much better than Tridef, I haven't tried IZ3D though. But nothing beats the green fairy...

Just to set the record straight:
Before I had ever gamed on a Samsung, before I had seen CB mode on a Samsung, I gamed on a Sony 3DTV in framepacking 720P for five weeks. With no frame of reference, I was so unhappy with the image quality, I searched the forums asking if there was a fix for 720P. The answer I kept getting was "that's as good as it gets in 720P." I knew nothing about framepack, nothing about CB, nothing about Video mode.
The Video mode ugliness francomg reports is not unique to Samsung, my Sony was every bit as bad. I put up with Sony 3D video mode for 5 weeks until out of desperation, I found Nobsi's report that Samsung frees you from dreaded 720P/framepack/Video mode. I ordered the Samsung and kept my Sony so I could do a side by side comparison, I had no preconceived notion as to which I would send back. I had both sets, I could send either back for a refund. Sony 720P = Samsung 720P. Both were in Video mode, both looked dramatically better in PC mode. Yes, Sony is capable of PC mode, at least in 2D, and the improvement is just as dramatic as it is on the Samsung (in 2D). Problem is, Sony is forced into Video mode for all Nvidia 3D gaming software, Samsung isn't.
So for anyone to suggest that Sony is somehow immune from Video mode degradation is just plain wrong, I've seen it myself. Panasonic, Sony, Samsung all have optional "PC Mode" because the designers all understand the issue of Video mode degradation when displaying PC graphics. That's why they all offer PC mode.
Anyone who says "Sony looks great in Video mode, Samsung looks like crap" is in no position to judge since they haven't seen Samsung.
Sony doesn't seem to change anything when setting the hdmi input "label" to "PC", nothing changes...
Of course nothing changes. Sony's PC mode selector is not done with input labels. Sony uses the 'scene' option to select PC mode.
Yet Samsungs, ...... ghosting problems.
Another half truth. Both Samsung and Sony exhibit ghosting in 3D games. In BR3D, they have equal amounts of ghosting.
I wonder if the un468000 LED has the the framepacking problem.
Every 3DTV has "the framepacking problem". It's called 'Video mode" and I've seen it on 2 different Panasonics, 2 different Sony's, and 4 different Samsungs's over the last four years.

I found myself very intrigued with the interesting results I got yesterday. I've installed your replacemod inf to go back to 3DTV Play Frame Packing and ran a few tests. Well, I guess our friend Austin Tex knows what he's talking about when he says sharpness makes a huge difference creating ugly edges in video mode for 3D gaming. Well, in PC mode sharpness is greyed out, but in video mode, including 3D FP the sharpness bar can be adjusted.
We have 2 picture modes available when in 3D mode, standard and movie. Standard is the worst one and movie is a little bit better for FP using factory settings. I've played Just Cause 2 to run the tests I've made last night. Once I set sharpness to zero, all the way down for both standard and movies picture modes, I could not see any ugliness in FP anymore concerning edges, just perfect 3D quality, really hard to tell the diference from PC mode now. At factory settings Standard picture mode is set to 50 for sharpness and it looks hideous for FP 3D gaming. Movie looks a bit better and is set to 20 for sharpness at factory settings. But if you set sharpness to zero for both modes, all ugliness is gone, you can bet there will no more edges, just crispy 3D quality. I've seen yesterday and I could not believe how good Just Cause 2 looked in FP 1080p24hz after I messed around with sharpness.
I have never thought that sharpness was somehow related to the nasty edges I was viewing in FP video mode.
Roller, just try this out and see for yourself, use your replacemod and go back to 3DTV Play just for testing and set sharpness bar to zero when in video mode and play any 3D game at 1080p24hz, you're not going to believe the difference you'll notice. FP looked like crap with sharpness set to 50, but one you set sharpness to zero, Wow!!!! what a difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sharpness is right below contrast, it's in picture settings, same screen as contrast, brightness and light cel.
I've even tried FP 720p60hz with sharpness set to zero and it made a Huge difference, I mean huge. I've played around with sharpness bar just to see the differences, if you set to 50 it looks horrible, ugly and defected, than if you set sharpness's bar to zero, it looks quite good for 720p. Off course there's huge difference between FP 1080p and 720p cause of the lower resolution, It's very noticeable, but there were no edges, it just looked like 720p in my LCD screen. Saying that 720p 3D gaming looks almost the same as 1080p, that it's really hard to tell a difference is just insane, you must be blind if you don't see obvious difference of high and low resolutions. But FP 720p looked quite good and I was astonished, cause before setting sharpness to zero it looked like crap.
Roller, I think you've never messed with sharpness feature when playing games in FP 3D mode, just like me, and that's why we always thought video mode looked so bad compared to PC mode. Try this out and let us know here in this thread your findings.
Well, I still don't think that PC mode and video mode process the pixels equaliy, I think it's somehow different, but I won't say anymore that PC mode crushes video mode, now I think both look really good for 3D gaming. The problem is and has always been sharpness. I've compared last night for more than an hour just testing FP video mode(sharpness set to zero) vs FS PC mode (sharpness is greyed out) and I have used the same picture settings for PC and Video mode, same brightness, contrast, light cel, dynamic contrast>High and HDMI black levels>Low. I've also used movie picture mode for the 3D pictures I've taken last nigh and that can be viewed with 3dvision picture viewer. I really cound't tell a big difference between Frame packing video mode and FS PC mode anymore, but I wound't say identical though, but either PC and video modes looked pretty nice for 3D gaming.
One thing that made me think that PC mode and video mode are really different in pixel processing is how sharpness affect both modes. You see, sharpness is greyed out in PC mode, but if chose standard picture mode (PC mode) and can see that sharpness is set to 40, but you can't change that unfornately. You can also chose movie mode (PC mode) which has sharpness set to 20, you can't change that cause it's greyed out also. Anyway, If I play games in FS 1080p60hz and try out these 2 picture modes, standard and movie, I can't see any differences regarding edges, it feels like sharpness is turned off instead of set to 40 for picture standard mode and 20 for movie mode.
On the other hand sharpness affects video mode considerably for 3D gaming, if you set it to 20 or any value above that, you can notice the ugly edges, and if above 50 just makes 3D gaming hideous like it needs tons of AA.
So, after running those tests, I still think PC mode and Video mode works differently, but if you set sharpness to zero when in video mode, I don't see that huge difference between PC and video mode, not anymore, both look really good for 3D gaming and that's my overall experience with my testing and findings.
Roller, you must play around with picture settings when in video mode FP, reduce contrast, cell light, sharpness and it will look pretty similar to PC mode, believe me when I tell you this. I was shocked last night of how much difference sharpness makes for video mode, Austin Tex was pretty accurate in his comments regarding sharpness and 3D gaming. I guess sharpness is a good thing for videos and 3D movies, but not 2D/3D gaming. I haven't tried decreasing sharpness when watching bluray3D though, but I've never seen any ugly edges when watching BD3D, but I will run this test today and let you know. BD3D has always looked perfect 3D quality for me, I mean the real ones, not fake BD3D.
Libertine,
I have taken 3D pictures by hitting Alt + F1 while playing games. I've taken pictures of Just Cause 2 in Frame Packing 1080p24hz/720p60hz video mode (sharpness set to zero at all times to eliminate the ugly edges), Frame Sequential PC mode 1080p60hz/768p60hz and also as you wanted to know about checkerboard, I have also taken pictures of Checkerboard 1080p60hz without the annoying red message, cause I'm using Roller's HW circuit red message suppressor for CB.
I've used the same amount of brightness, contrast, cel light, HDMI black levels>Low and Dynamic contast>High when playing Just Cause 2 in FP, FS and CB modes. Video mode has many more features available compared to PC mode, so obvious there will be some differences between those 2 modes and the pixel processing is not the same like Roller pointed out, but the ugly edges problem is gone for Frame packing as I reduced sharpness to zero. FP looks just as good as it looks in your Bravia Sony TV now, you'll see there's nothing wrong with Samsung FP video mode, it was bad call, I'm sorry. Sometimes we need to mess around with settings. You're right, sharpness is bad for 3D gaming. These 3D ready TVs have many features, I'm still learning.
I've seen all 3D pictures that I've taken using 3dvision's picture viewer in my Alienware 120hz LCD display and they don't look the same to me. I think a 3D picture can really show the difference. Roller said it really depends on the display you're viewing, but a picture taken will look exactly how it was taken, the differences will be black colors tons that looks more washed out in LCD, but the pixels and resolution differences are quite noticeable. FS and FP don't look identical, but similar somehow.
I've named each 3D picture with the 3D layout I was using. So, there's CB, FP and FS. I still think FS 1080p60hz is the best 3D quality, it has a few more details compared to FP looking veyy close, but hard to notice, but both FP and FS look very beautiful for 3D gaming. It's really a matter of taste I think. You'll see that Checkerboard look very good and it's far superior to FP 720p60hz, and very similar to FP 1080p24hz. The LCD display will show CB as if it was in a TV, the difference are the black tons, but if the pic was taken in CB (half resolution per eye), it will be a CB pic with half resolution per eye. So, if you haven't seen how CB look, now you will.
I've used Just Cause 2 for testing cause it's one of the best 3D looking game ever. It's a 3DVision Ready Title and Nvidia uses JC2 for marketing 3Dvision in their website, cause this game is close to perfection in 3D. Batman AA would be another big 3D title, but it's mostly dark scenes, that's why I chose Just Cause 2 instead.
FRAME PACKING IN A SAMSUNG TV LOOKS REALLY GOOD, I REPEAT, BUT YOU HAVE TO REDUCE SHARPNESS TO ZERO, ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH SAMMY FP, IT JUST NEEDS MANUAL ADJUSTMENTS.
Here's the link for the 3D pictures testing of Just Cause 2 in FP, FS and CB modes.

BTW Roller, log off don't work for going back to 3DTV Play, I had to restart computer after aplying rollermod and replacemod for 3DV and 3DTV Play.

If he pays 40 bucks and get 3DTV Play software and decides to use rollermod will he get CB and FS modes, or does he need to have a 3dvision kit for that, or just having 3DTV Play software for 40 dollars will do it?

Thanks for your fine efforts in this thread, no doubt many have benefited from the great amount of time you've spent tweaking, I know I have.

I own a 2010 Samsung 3d LED tv model no. UN40C7000wf.(240 hz.)
I bought the 3d vision kit because I didn't want to wait for the release of 3dtv play.
I'd like to ask you a couple of questions about using rollermod.inf and 3d vision.
I have been following this thing from the beginning, so you don't have to start from the very beginning.
I'd like to try it out before committing either way.
I understand that there is also an uninstall program.
Do I/Could I/Should I...copy my current files and save them in order to re-install them after uninstalling rollermod.inf?
Where do I find these current files on my system?
Will rollermod.inf have any effect on the operation of the tv or manufacturer internet updating?
Where do I find latest rollermod.inf and uninstall programs?

See attachments. After you use rollermod or restore_14, you will need to reboot for the changes to take affect. And most importantly, be sure to create a system restore point under 'system protection' before you install rollermod.

Roller, you're the one I should be thanking. Thanks to your efforts and mod skills I have a 3DTV Play jailbreak, I'm not stuck with lame 1080p24hz, and 720p60hz. For me 3D gaming must be FULL HD, I don't stand 720p, I'm just to picky for graphics quality since I bought a high end computer. I love 3dvision and playing games in 3D, but I must play at 1080p at all times, that's why frame packing desn't work for me.
I'me very happy with CB 1080p60hz, never thought that half resolution per eye could look so good. It definatelly looks much better than FP 720p60hz, there's just no arguing on that. Native resolution is mandatory for perfect quality 3D gaming, always.
But I must say that my favorite mode is FS 1080p60hz = 30fps full resolution per eye, cause it's the same 3D layout I use in my 120hz LCD display and it's pure 3Dvision all the way. I will play many games like this. I will only use CB in shooter games and heavy action games that really demands 60fps.
You said rollermod doesn't work for 3DTV Play, you mean that if someone doesn't have a 3Dvision kit, and just 3DTV Play software, rollermod won't give them CB and FS, is that right? I would like to have this info, some friends are asking me that...

When you play games in FS 1080p60gz don't you experience syncing issues with Samsung glasses? yesterday I had some problems where Samsung glasses kept blinking and loosing sync, really annoying. I think that since the 3DV IR emitter keeps sending IR signals to sync with Nvidia glasses it interfers with Samsung glasses. I think this doesn't happen to CB mode cause the IR emitter doesn't send any signals, like it does in FS mode as this mode was designed to work with Nvidia glasses, not Samsung.
I've also tried to block the signals from the Nvidia IR emitter, puting one of my speakers in front of the emitter but it didn't help, do you have any ideas?
FS 1080p60hz 3D quality is just outstanding and gameplay was very smooth in Just Cause 2, but these annoying sync issues with Samsung glasses really bugs me.
I really like my Samsung TV, but I do hate Samsung 3D glasses, they are the worst I've ever worned cause even watching bluray3D I experience some sync issues using the rechargeable Sammsung glasses 2200 model, they really suck though they're very comfortable. The Samsung glasses that came with the TV that requires external battery, 2100 model are much better compared to 2200, they don't lose sync as offen, but they hurt the back of my ears if I wear them for more than an hour.
However, I've tried the rechargeable and also the battery glasses, and both had sync issues in FS mode when I was playing Just Cause 2. I really think it's the nvidia emitter sending unwanted signals that keeps interfering with Samsung glasses.
Samsung must make better glasses, I don't see reports of syncing issues with Panasonic and Sony glasses. I've read about other folks complaining about syncing issues with samsung glasses as well.

Francomg, cover the emitter with something more than the speaker, put a heavy item of clothing over it or something, the emitters RF signal is interfering with the one from the TV you are right i've had this issue before.

I have my emitter on the floor under my desk next to my computer, so the desk is blocking line of sight. The emitter doesn't do anything, so it can be anywhere. Once your system is working, you never need to touch or see the emitter.
Try putting a piece of tape over the receiver window of your glasses. I use duct tape, experiment with various sizes of tape to vary the coverage.
I also get sync problems when my non-rechargeable battery is getting low.

I think somethings wrong with frame packing on that Samsung though, thats looks like my Sony when i have image sharpening on. I sure as hell don't have that problem on my Sony,

[*]Panasonic Plasma 3D Ready TV may have the best picture overall, I've seen it and it's a great TV with perfect crispy 3D and almost no ghosting at all. It's a great TV for bluray3D, 3D videos and console 3D gaming.

I have a friend that asked me a question that I cound't provide a fast answer. The guy has a Samsung 3D Ready 2010 LED TV, but he doesn't own a 3dvision kit. I told him he that he will need to buy 3DTV Play software to be able to play 3D games using his Samsung TV.

Thanks for all your efforts.

Where do I find latest rollermod.inf and uninstall programs?
Thanks for all your efforts.
-----------------------
I own a 2010 Samsung 3d LED tv model no.
No.

See attachments. After you use rollermod or restore_14, you will need to reboot for the changes to take affect. And most importantly, be sure to create a system restore point under 'system protection' before you install rollermod.

Rollermod does not for 3DTV Play, I've tried it many times. (:
Thanks for your fine efforts in this thread, no doubt many have benefited from the great amount of time you've spent tweaking, I know I have.
