Greetings. I've got an old Toshiba Qosmio with a 3D screen and built-in emitter. I love it but its GTX 560M is behind the times. I've been looking for a more recent laptop with a 3D screen and so far I've only seen used ones on eBay with the most recent GeForce card being the GTX 780M. Does anyone know of a company that still offers 3D screen with built-in emitters and current GTX cards? Thanks in advance!

I don't know of any current ones unfortunately, and you have to be careful because some of them are being marketed as though they support 3D, but they actually only support HDMI 3D and don't have a built in 3D screen :(
My laptop (Alienware m17x r4) is also a few years old now, but as it is a model with an upgradable GPU I'm starting to think about looking into that option rather than replacing the whole laptop. Need to find out exactly what is involved in that though - making sure I get a GPU that supports 3D Vision, and that my laptop can power and cool (I saw a reference in one upgrade that a power mod may be required).

If you want to upgrade the GPU in the laptop the best one you can get is a GTX780M or GTX880M. The 880M is basically equally to 780M but features 8GB of Vram ^_^.
Any of the 900M series WILL not work with the Panel. The manufacturers didn't turn on the Build Option for 3D Vision when they build them. (I guess is cheaper without it). I wanted to upgrade my 880M to 980M recently and noticed that everyone says it will ignore your 3D Panel (Stereo option is missing unless you connect external monitor).
I know it sux:( but well...the 780M, 880M still provide good power in 3D;) I am able to play all the games at 1080p in 3D with framerates around 30-40 at DECENT max settings (not overkill settings like in Witcher 3 with the foliage rendering distance set to Max, but to med/high).
Hope this info helps;)

Well, I finally got myself a Clevo P570WM3, with a GTX 880M. Problem is, Clevo doesn't have 3D support for the GTX 880M in its BIOS as of yet--so support for it is neither in the Prema Mod BIOS (I contacted Prema to confirm 3D is not yet supported for the GTX 880M).
Now, my information on the status of 3D support for the GTX 880M in Clevo's BIOS may be outdated...can anyone running the latest stock BIOS from Clevo and a GTX 880M confirm this?
Looks like I'm out of luck on the 3D front unless I swap out the GTX 880M with a GTX 780M. Unless anyone has another idea?
Thanks again for all responses from the community! :)

That is very weird;( I am not running a Clevo but an Alienware. I can dump the vbios from my card, but I doubt it will help you or work in a Clevo...
Just let me know if you decide that you want my vbios;)

Toldja to buy my p370sm3 but noooooo xD
Just wait for one of the vr headsets. Side by Side is better than nvidia's type of 3D anyway.
Or you can get the external kit. External kit works. Just not the internal. Have fun with the external though, nvidia hasn't even fixed it's problems of disconnecting at the wrong times and it's been reported for years :P

Thanks for the offer guy. :) I think what I'll do is just get a GTX 780M and sell the GTX 880M which should get me back some cash. There's not that much difference between the two despite the slightly faster clock and double memory on the GTX 880M. (At least from what I've seen on NoteBookCheck.com's list of current GPU's.)
When that starts getting old then I can get another for SLI. And after that, well by that time VR gear should be more popular...

LOL. Sorry guy. :) Despite the graphics card anomaly the other offer was better. No slight intended.
