Real-time 3D Mapping using ZED stereo camera
I figured that some of you might find this interesting. It works using Nvidia's Jetson TK1, TX1 and TX2 https://www.stereolabs.com/ ZEDfu is the first real-time 3D reconstruction application for large-scale environments. Using ZED stereo camera, it lets you capture 3D mesh of any outdoor environment in seconds. ZEDfu outputs OBJ files with texture compatible with Blender, Unity and more. Get ZED camera for $449 on stereolabs.com https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFH2yN3rM78 https://github.com/stereolabs/zed-ros-wrapper https://www.stereolabs.com/developers/ https://devblogs.nvidia.com/parallelforall/jetson-tx2-delivers-twice-intelligence-edge/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIShzAzKUWQ

I've got one and it's been collecting dust on my shelf for the past couple of months. It doesn't capture details well, so unless you're scanning very large objects that are very well lit it's practically useless. The obj files that it produces are high poly and have a lot of noise. UV mapping is also extremely difficult to do. I was extremely disappointed. I got mine through my job, otherwise i would've returned it.
