Quadro FX 3800 and stereo "10" mode under Linux

We used to have CRTs with polarized filters for use of stereo mode "3", as the CRTs tend to be more and more difficult to found we decided to test the stereo mode "10" with DFP monitors.

I tried during the last past days to reproduce the same configuration i used to have with the CRTs
- Xinerama and clone mode "off"
- first monitor is CRTs with custom ModeLine and stereo
- second monitor is DFP with automatic detection and without stereo

Regarding my tests i have
- Linux RHEL 5.5, xorg 7.1.1
- NVidia drivers x86_64 275.09.07
- Quadro FX 3800 with 3-pin DIN connector board
- 3D Vision glasses with IR hub connected to the 3-pin DIN connector board
- 2 Samsung 2233RZ monitors, we only want 3D on one of them but for esthetic purposes we decided to have the same model for both monitors, only the first one is connected to the DVI port with a dual link cable, the second one is connected with a single link cable on a display port adapter.

I am able to have the stereo working on the first monitor and a correct resolution of 1680x1050 on both monitors only when not using Xinerama or TwinView, ie with two X screens and with all the limitations that come with it.

If i use Xinerama i have both monitors in 1680x1050 resolution but stereo is not available on any of them, i don't found any explanations in the logs.

If i use TwinView i have first monitor in 1680x1050 resolution and stereo is working fine, but the second monitor fallback in 640x480 with every configuration i tried, even with custom EDID files, it seems that stereo mode "10" activate some specifics EDID needs on all monitors and i was not able to bypass it.

So i have two question i was not able to answer through the forum or searches on internet
- Is stereo mode "10" compatible with Xinerama or TwinView to share a desktop on two monitors ?
- If answer is no to the first question, is there a way to have a desktop shared on both my monitors with the stereo mode "10" available on one of them ?

Hello again,

I tried some more configuration changes without success....but found something interesting.

If i unplugged the second Samsung 2233RZ on which i don't want stereo and plugged an not 3D vision compatible monitor all is working fine...strange isn't it ?

It seems that as soon as the drivers detect an 3D vision compatible monitor there is no way to tell the drivers you don't want stereo on it.

Am i missing some configuration parameters i could use ? Or is it planned to have such configuration parameters available in the futur ?
