Finally I was able to update the EDID using Powerstrip. I used Geforce 8400GS for update. Now it is working as it should.

Yesterday I tried to contact Acer about the issue, the tech support was useless and was blaming me for computer settings. He did not understand what EDID is. He suggested to do some useless things like factory reset. In the end when nothing worked then he asked me to ship the projector to Acer repair facility. I was supposed to pay for shipping.

Anyways, Powerstrip rescued me from sending the projector.

my 5360 has been working fine for weeks, then a few days ago, the 3d got messed up. The nvidia wizard recognises the projector as the acer5360. window only sees it as a Generic non PNP display. Im going to try fix via powerstrip and the edid dat

pheonix 1.3 has found the acr0701 entry in the registry. Ive saved the dat file.

I need to purchase the powerstrip pin.

The acer uses a round rs232 conector were can i get 1 of those or can the process be done via the hdmi input?

thanks for this thread, ive been fearing the worst but now have a glimmer of hope.

If anyone is looking for the EDID for the Acer H5360, look no further, click here just click on the Acer icon to get back into the 3D world.

Hope this helps.

Maybe Im being a dunce about this but anyways (correct me if Im wrong)...
What sirshibby (and 3dizzy.com) is talking about is a driver file not an edid file.

His fix seems to be for when windows loads the wrong driver, but what a lot of us H5360 owners are experiencing is a corruption of the data thats actually located within the projector so simply updating to correct windows driver wont fix the problem. The .inf file may also work if you try using it to override the EDID of the projector. I've tried all the suggested methods of fixing a ballsed up H5360's Edid but as it happens only the powerstrip method works for me.

Anyways the reason I decided to post this is because people seem to be confusing .inf files for Edid files (which are .dat) and subsequently uploading them, and newbies using powerstrip (like myself) would get confused since they think they have an EDID file but cant write it to the projector.

So my basic message: anyone looking for an EDID file for powerstrip should be looking for one with a .dat extension (I know the post that helped me out had one guy who uploaded the .dat file as a .txt to overcome uploading restrictions).

Then again maybe infs can be used when writing to a projectors EDID, can anyone clarify this?

I had the same problem. It was a hardware defect on the hdmi port. I sent it back and got a firmware update as well.
this is no software issue.

Folks, due to some furious , raging guy called "relaxman" , I got a dead pixel on my 5360 . Damn. He urged me to set 50hz. Now the poor pj gave me a dead pixel in result.

Anyway, aging should be no problem ( 11000 hours is usual at 65 °C , 3x room temperature) , JUST DOn't set custom resolutions, looks like you can DAMAGE the pj!!!

Dear, friendly guy called "tritosine":
The projector is capable of using the 1280x720@50Hz mode.
It's 100% sure. 50Hz is a standard in Europe.
Don't know why you get dead pixel, but you should ask the support.
It's not normal.
And you was who asked me to try some non standard refresh rate, like 90, 95Hz,
etc. with my V700...
