Acer H5360 Projector - Warning message in resolutions other than 1280x720
Hello all togehter!
Like much users, I like some classic games, that do not support the native projector resolution of 1280x720 pixels. The 3D Vision driver always shows a red warning message "Warning: attempt to run Stereoscopic 3D in non-stereo display mode. See documentation for acceptable Stereoscopic 3D modes." in modes like 1024x768. This is annoying.
The fact is, the Acer H5360 works perfectly in 3D Vision 120Hz modes for example at 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x768, 1360x768 resolution. But only in the native resolution 1280x720 without the warning message. I have contacted Nvidia Customer Care and they explained me, that a driver update is the only solution - dependend on how much games/users have this problem.
So I decided to collect the users and "older" games, that do not offer the native projector-resolution 1280x720!
I will make the "start"-entry:
GAME Name - "In-GAME" offered resolutions that work with the Acer H5360 in 3D - GAME Infos
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Titan Quest (Immortal Throne) - 1024x768, 1280x768 - Excellent 3D effect because of stunning 3D-world-depth!

I dont think a driver will help. Right now the H5360 doesn't use a company specific driver at all. It uses a generic Microsoft one. It purely uses the EDID auto-detection etc....It would need a firmware update, not a driver one.

The driver does generate the message because I believe during the handshaking the projector indicates it does not support the resolution (even though in reality it may be working). Also to be clear I wanted to separate 2 layers of drivers
1) The nVidia graphics card drivers (with 3D support) which generates those horrible red messages
2) A display model driver. For example the LCD monitors have very specific files. The H5360 comes up as a generic display so doesn't use a bespoke driver

Confused by that, what is the ideal resolution for this projector ?
dos the resolution I choose effect the ideal screen size ? (reckon i might be asking a stupid question, apologies if thats the case)
For 3D (nVidia 120Hz) the ONLY resolution that seems to be properly supported, is the native resolution which is 1280x720
For 2D and using the desktop I recommend 1280x720 for optimum clarity, but the projector will accept 1080p
My resolution setting screen does not say 1080 is native. I don't know why yours is saying that unless it gets confused when you switch from your monitor to your projector
and plugged in for 1st time yesterday - IMPRESSIVE ! !
question regarding resolution - the recommended resolution is 1280x720
why does my nvidia display panel tell me that
1080p 1920x1080 (recommended)
1080i 1920x1080 (native)

Just got the acer
and plugged in for 1st time yesterday - IMPRESSIVE ! !
question regarding resolution - the recommended resolution is 1280x720
why does my nvidia display panel tell me that
1080p 1920x1080 (recommended)
1080i 1920x1080 (native)
Confused by that, what is the ideal resolution for this projector ?
dos the resolution I choose effect the ideal screen size ? (reckon i might be asking a stupid question, apologies if thats the case)
