Played the mod tonight and it's working quite nicely - thanks again Losti!
The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. Instead of altering their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views ... which can be very uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.

I am happy reading this. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TESTING and discover several problems here.
The impact of the boost is dependend on the graphic settings and of cause starting performance.
Do not expect 40 FPS here if you came from 20 :-)
I'm trying to make the dynamic depth reticle/crosshair working with other UI mods than VeryUnintrusiveReticle but with no luck. The reticle is being fixed on UI level.
I've even tried to replace the dds within the VeryUnintrusiveReticle pak but to no avail. Even if I open the original dds from VeryUnintrusiveReticle pak, re-save without changing anything and packing again, it doesn't work. Even if the file is exactly the same to a pixel, same size to a byte, the reticle stops being dynamic.
I can't get my head around it.
What makes that this particular mod/file so special?

The texture hash. UI/HUD mods will have other textures. Hence other texture hashes. I only have implemented the hashes for VeryUnintrusiveReticle and vanilla.
Dont ask, i will not implement it for your/other UI mods this is a never ending story. UI mods also can breake the auto HUD changes. Depends on the mods and its texture chagnes. Go with the game it is in vanilla or with 2D :-) Sorry.

I wouldn't dare asking you to do it for me. I'm a modder myself and I know how annoying the requests like that could be ;)
Anyway, I've figured out that it's the hash thing that can be added to d3dx.ini. I've found the proper hash by dumping all the textures in FrameAnalysis and added the texture override. It works \o/

Yeah thats was the right way you went !!! Nice !!
If its a popular mod and may be usefull for others, you can give me the hash and i an add it to the fix for the others, if you can promise that the mod will not breake other things of the hud automation.

It's Star-HUD, fairly popular (about 1/3 of unique downloads of VeryUntrusive one)
There are many versions but the hash is only for the 'STAR-HUD v0.3 (Reticle C2)' version:
[TextureOverrideDot_StarHUD_Reticle_C2-MOD]
hash=608c8e46
filter_index=2
x3=0.0
It's a simple UI texture replace so I don't think it breaks anything. At least I haven't noticed.
