Resident Evil 5 PC 3D vision Benchmark
  3 / 3
Tried beta driver 190.38: "...Adds support for Resident Evil 5 tech demo, optimized for NVIDIA 3D Vision..."
The result: now the on screen information tells me that the rating should be excellent - unfortunately I can't see it. The same problems as before: no convergence adjustement, no out of the screen effects.

So I'm still waiting for a statement if the convergence settings are generally deactivated for this demo (and also for the final game!? And for all future games that are "ready for 3D vision"?!) or if it is a problem that affetcs only some users.

Hi there separation works, convergence doesn't. this may just be a demo thing, I am unsure. But no popouts in the demo. Maybe Andrew will shed some light as to wether convergence will work with the game or not.

I truly hope this isn't the beginning of a trend. /thumbsdown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> The control should never be taken out of our hands. It is fine to set the defaults to be the way the developer wants, but after that, we should be able to do what we want with the image.

Andrew I just want to remind you that multiple people are specifically inquiring to you about the lack of any of the effects you were hyping up. Will they be in the final game and will the convergence be correct? It might still require tweaking or whatnot, but if it's good enough for you to be that excited about it I don't see why Capcom would leave it out of the demo.....

No to offend but a simple "I don't know" would suffice if that's the case. Just please don't ignore them as it's a pretty important inquiry.
Andrew,

Any chance you can comment on the lack of "out of screen effects" in the benchmark? Can you confirm if the benchmark is missing popout effects that the retail version will have?

thanks
Its just the benchmark, full game has a lot of pop-up. Thats the benefit I get working on the inside :)

Thank You!
Good to know :)
Does "a lot of pop-up" also mean that individual convergence settings are available in the full game?

This is a really important question. People use 3D Vision with a wide range of screen sizes, which we view from considerably varying distances. Even the distance between left and right eye varies from person to person. All these things (along with personal preferences and even the current 3D Vision depth setting) effect what convergence setting is appropriate. A "one size fits all" locked setting is a very, very bad idea. Simplicity may be desirable in some circumstances, but not at the cost of useability and flexibility.
Cheers,
DD
