I know this one may come a little early but there is so much revolving around the next Tomb Raider game (especially when it comes to 3D Vision) that I just have to drop this thread now.
To be honest the 2 predecessors are two of the qualitywise finest 3D Vision games you can find (communities' fixes installed of course) so Shadow of the Tomb Raider being playable in 3D Vision would be a serious contender for "news of the year"!
Concerning this there are 2 questions currently that need to be answered. I know it would be difficult to answer these questions by now but still I am very interested in what the community thinks about it.
1. We all remember when the seemingly impossible happened and Rise of the Tomb Raider was made officially 3D ready by Nixxes some time after release. So do you think hope for out of the box 3D Vision compatibility would be justified for the upcoming Shadow of the Tomb Raider?
2. Even more unexpected than the 3D patch for ROTTR itself was the fact that our community fix was even better than the official one done by Nixxes. And to even top that off Nixxes reached out to helifax (who was on the absolute forefront of this fix) and asked him for advice concerning the official 3D patch.
I totally miss helifax and while I noticed there was some controversy here on the forum I never fully understood why he left all of a sudden!?
The question now is: if Shadow of the Tomb Raider is not 3D compatible by default will there be any hope for a fix especially now that helifax has gone silent for quite some time?

I was happy to hear that NIXXES was doing the port again, as their PC ports are generally excellent and I thought they were the ones that included 3D (was it another party that added 3D for them?). how long after release of ROTTR was 3D added?
ROTTR will always be a landmark title for me, as thats where I literally stumbled into 3D gaming. I played it at release in 2D 4k, and decided to play it again year or so later and all my settings were deleted somehow...so while I was setting back up my resolution and everything I saw the letters SBS (which I knew from watching 3D movies). I was like wtf is this, native 3D support? seemed like it would work on my 3dtv (up until that point I thought I had to have special equipment to play games in 3d), so tried it out and was immediately BLOWN AWAY! found helixblog and this forum shortly after and haven't looked back since. Now I just get mad at all the fixed games I played in 2D back then :)
Already have this preordered assuming (always dangerous I know) that it will get 3D like the previous games, really hope it does and gets a level of polish to match or exceed ROTTR graphically on PC.

Yeah. I played Portal 2 the first time in 2D when it came out, and then it was my first 3D game on my vg278h when 3D Vision 2 came out. At one point you're in the robot factory and there's one of the coolest 3D animations I have seen in a game: the turret assembly and boxing line. I must have spent an hour just staring at it from every angle possible. I'm a huge Valve fanboy, their games are like special experiences to me and when they'd release one I'd be sure to fully take it all in. But in my 2D playthrough, I had never even noticed it at all!
That was officially the end of my interest in 2D gaming.

Minutes ago I couldn't believe my very eyes. I clicked the Doom-thread and there it was...a screenie-ridden post by HELIFAX!
Seeing helifax coming back to the forum definitely made my day.
And now "a new hope arises"! Could it be the Master Jedi will grace his "crown-jewel" once more, will work his magic and thus will make the third installment playable in 3D once again.
At least I dare to dream that he has already set his sight upon this holy project..... ;-)
