Pardon me but why dont you put the fixes in the same place other helixmod fixes are stored? I think they are on amazon servers right?
That is correct. They are on Amazon servers.
The reason I put fixes on my website, is because:
- I made the site originally to store and display 3D Vision Surround Videos.
- Later, I started developing my OpenGL 3D Vision wrapper.
- Since all the games I fixed with my wrapper are not in any way related to HelixMod (Helix DLLs or 3DMigoto) is to avoid confusion (and stop people coming on HelixMod to ask about stuff related to my wrapper or my fixes).
- I store my fixes on my website, because is easier to maintain them as I have full access to the filesystem and so on.
- I think some of the 3DMigoto fixes are backup as well on HelixMod as well, not sure about the OpenGL fixes though.
- The last reason I wanted to keep my domain and the files, is that there are various links all over this forum that points that way! (Which is just the domain, that I should be able to take with me when I decide to change the server providers).
- I find it way more practical like this, to be able to quickly share different bits of information around;)
If you look here:http://3dsurroundgaming.com/ScreenShots.html
Most of the DX fixes are stored on HelixMod ;) A few updates I made are stored on my site since:
- I can't edit a post that another user made and sometimes I need to do that, as you have clearly seen.
- I don't want to make the confusion between my fixes and some of the more "hardcore" fixes and fixers released there. (I know my alias is Helifax and a lot of people though/think that I am Helix - founder and developer of HelixMod - which I am not:( I've stuck with this alias since around 2003 and I didn't want to change it, because I got used to it ;) )
- Other new fixes I made I also stored them on my website because I know where to find them (instead of thinking is this game fixed made me initially? Can I modify the helixmod page for this fix, if I changed something... and so on..) This way I know that everything I "touched" is in one place;)
Hope this answers your questions;)
