3D Vision Surround with diffucult Monitors
Hey at the moment i have one ASUS VG278HE display which supports 3D Vision. Now i had the idea to buy two more of them to have an 3D Vision Surround Set Up, so far so good. But also i plan to upgrade my graphic cards from two GTX480 in SLi to two GTX 980 TI in SLi. But now i the matter with a too liitle amount of DVI-ports, then there is only one DVI port per card, so totally two ports for the three monitors. I know that there will be such converts from DisplayPort for DVI, but they aren't so cheap with 150€. So i had the idea to buy one another monitor with an DisplayPort, the ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q. It has an higher resolution and GSync, supports also 3D Vision. The total rpice of this monitor upgrade will nearby the same, when i buy two more ASUS VG278HE with a DP-DVI converter, or only one ASUS VG278HE and one ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q. The idea of the second way is, that i uses ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q as center monitor and the two ASUS VG278HE (i already have one of it) at both sides left and right. But now is the question will 3D Vision Surround work on this display configuration? Can you help me?

Unfortunately this will not work. I tried exactly this with the ROG Swift as center monitor and two Acer Predator XB270Hb 3D Vision monitors as side monitors. I was planning on switching between using the ROG in 1440p as single monitor and using all three monitors combined in a 1080p surround setup. Unfortunately it doesn't work. I didn't even manage to switch to Surround. It seems the different native resolution is the problem here although Nvidia states that it generally only works with the exact same make and model. I ended up with three of those Acer Predator XB270Hb and am totally happy with them!

Not only will it not work (all monitors must be identical), the Swift is not a good choice for 3D gamers. It looks great on paper, but SLI is completely broken.

@OP As lohan and Pirateguybrush pointed out, (officially)the monitors must be identical, especially resolution wise. You can PM DeadDuck and ask him if he ever got his setup to work, he claimed he had it working previously https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/881308/
