Tried Portal 2 last night with 3D Vision. Works good. The only problem I saw (and even in 2D) was that you can still see the portal left from one room into another room (as if there is no hidden surface removal). I'm not sure if this is a problem with that particular level or not as I don't see it in the current level I'm in. Rock solid framerates too.

I think that is a new feature to portal 2, so you can always know where your portals are, strange that you dont see it now, though.

It is a feature, and it renders at screen depth thankfully. This game almost works perfectly in 3D for me if not for a strange broken glass texture that does not render correctly.

Yeah, so I've been playing it too. And I have to say it works in full 3D nearly perfect and smooth as silk on my game rig with all the settings maxed out. I like it, the puzzles are really fun and this game has got me laughing quite a bit.

Good job Valve.

Its been really good for me as well with the 270.61 drivers, just the water and broken glass look weird with stereo 3D enabled.

I tried the various shader and effects options but didnt find anything that made it much better. If anyone does know a way to improve it, please let us know.

Other than that its great!

I do see it. It goes away when you go to the next level. I just didn't create a portal yet. :)

Seems like 3D works then.

Tried it out this afternoon. I haven't been this impressed with a game in a while... You can tell Valve really put some special effort into this one.
I bought the 2pack and tried it out on 3dtv play as well as 3d vision surround. Frame rates silky smooth even with 3d enabled, but I have to say
the image quality looks much better on my 3dtv than 3d vision surround. First of all I think the FOV is messed up in surround, and I noticed way more
ghosting on my 120hz displays.. But maybe that's just the nature of it... Athough I think I have may even experienced the same issue as as the other user who
reported the ghosting just getting worse and worse. Disabling and enabling 3d vision seems to help. Will try out on my dlp projector setup tonight to see if it fairs any better.

Nic

Can you get me more details?
- GPU make/model
- Driver version
- display type
- Can you send us a CPU-Z log?

It's a Gigabyte GTX470 Super Overclock
Drivers are 270.61
Samsung 2233RZ

I'm on my laptop at the moment but when I get some free time later I'll get you a CPU-Z log.

I should note I'm running overclocks, I'll try again with everything at stock on the off-chance it works too.

For me, Portal 2 looks great even on 100% depth. Yes, it does have the Quicksave (F6) feature that most FPS connoisseur craves!!!

Great game overall...Well done Valve!!!
