Sometime installing new drivers over the last one without cleaning might create some problems like this. So you might consider uninstalling all the Nvidia drivers and then cleaning completely using Driver Cleaner Pro or Driver Sweeper. Once cleaned up, try installing all the Nvidia drivers again. Run 3D setup wizard again and see if you still have the same problem.
Did you use the CD drivers ? what version ?
Does windows recognise the monitor ? (ini file)
I used the CD drivers and then updated them (1.18 or so to 1.36ish) without uninstalling the first set of drivers, so I'm going to work on what imarun suggested. It seems to be the most likely problem.
To imarun:
Should I remove the NVIDIA - Display category with Driver Sweeper? I've never used this program before and I'm not sure what's safe.

The other thing i can think of is, install the monitor driver from the aleinware cd
Control Panel - Device Manger - Monitor, double click Monitor, choose the Driver tab, and Update Driver, Browse my Computer, and point it to the cd/dvd drive

A safe and clean graphics-driver-reinstall:
-At first go sure that your windows doesn't install drivers automatically from web(Control-panel/System&Security/System/Advanced System Settings/Hardware/Device-Install-Settings : "Never install drivers from Windows Update").
-or simply unplug your internet-connection.
-Boot your PC in Safe-Mode (hit F8 before windows is starting up - select "Safe Mode" from B/W menu)
-open the Device-Manager - click on "graphic card"
-right click on your Nvidia card - select "Deinstall"
-A security question comes up - check the box near "Deinstall driver software too" - click Yes/OK
-Now restart Windows normally.
-Install the new display driver - restart
-Now install the 3D-Vision driver.
-dont forget to plug in your internet again
I only got a german windows here so I tried to translate all the menu stuff - maybe some things are different on an english windows.
But this procedure works if you really want a clean graphics-driver-reinstall ;) .
