Noob question - SBS mode on Asus VG278?
Okay, so I'm suuuper embarrassed to ask this question on a dedicated 3d board... but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to activate side-by-side mode on my vg278. Been through all the menus a million times... does it support it?

Why do you need SBS mode anyway?

I'd also like it so I could view 3d youtube vids posted in sbs, or even stuff people on this forum post in sbs... seems to be the default way people share 3d images, and even the example pics all over helixmod are all posted sbs... how to view those other than going in sbs mode? So am I to understand that 3dvision glasses don't support it at all? I will most likely just switch to my Vive once I "get the hang of" Elite, but it just seems like too complex a game to learn (with wayyyy too many keybindings) without being able to see my keyboard/flightstick.

Last I checked Elite Dangerous fix did not require SBS, it should work with normal 3D shutter glasses. It supports SBS for people who have 3D TV's, using DarkStarSword's SBS/TAB shader mechanism, but does not require it. The vg278 does not support SBS. A 3D certified monitor will not support SBS. You can only get that through 3D TV Play. For images on the web, we used to use 3DVisionLive as the source, but NVidia has stopped supporting 3DVisionLive, so it no longer works in any browser. Because of that we went to SBS (or more accurately, multiple format with links). We use SBS with right eye image on the left because that's what 3D Vision normally takes, and you can easily do cross-eye viewing on these. I don't play games cross-eye, but I do all web stuff that way.

@Nerdjitsu, If you want to watch SBS videos from Youtube, first download the videos then you can use Tridef Media Player to watch them with Asus VG278 and 3D Vision glasses.

But yeah, will be moot when i dload the fix anyway. Re: sbs, I guess I expected it would be more common cuz my 3d playstation monitor came with it as a button, and just seems like a pretty basic way to do a 3d image that shouldn't be too hard to tack onto a monitor as an extra option... but perhaps I'm grossly simplifying a complex process in my head. I've tried at length to do cross-eyed, but just can't... which strikes me as odd, cuz I'm really good at those "magic picture" stereograms, seems like a similar principle.
