I just purchased a 3D vision kit and a monitor (Samsung2233RZ). The problem I have is that the 3D kit only has the DVI/HDMI cable and my Samsung monitor only has a DVI input. So the drivers are all downloaded and software installed but when I use the NVIDIA provided DVI/HDMI cable I must use an adapter back to a DVI for the monitor. The set up wizard sees the monitor as a capable when just using the standard DVI cable but when I try to go through the set up the two images are unchanged with both right and left eye so I fail to pass the setup. All other hardware seems to be configured properly i.e. transmitter is green and glasses are fully charged and on. Now, when I switch to the NVIDIA cable DVI/HDMI w/adapter (HDMI/DVI) to run into the monitor I get a problem. When I try to run the setup and enable the 3D, my monitor seems to lose its source as if I disconnected it. Please can anyone help me with this???

You can get DVI-D cables from alot of places, Maplins, Ebuyer, Amazon probably etc

I haven't been able to get 3d vision working with my new 3d-ready Viewsonic PJD6531w projector.
The projector is never detected as 3d-ready in the stereoscopic setup wizard.
This is because whenever the setup wizard starts, it CHANGES the resolution from the one I have selected to 1280x800 @59hz.
The setup program blindly changes from the compatible resolution to the incompatible resolution, for no discernable reason.
No other program changes my resolution thusly.
3d should work at the projector resolution 1024x768 @120hz. This is the resolution I have set.
But even though it is in that resolution when I start the setup wizard, the wizard changes to the native 1280x800 @59hz resolution and therefore incorrectly reports no 3d ready display found.
Using CD1.23, 1.22... all of them.
I have tested this on 2 different computers independently, and 2 different video cards GTX275, GT240
Advise whether this is an NVIDIA issue or a VIEWSONIC issue adn I will pursue it correctly.
Thankyou
Hey try doing a firmware update to your projector. And also make sure you use the 1.25 3D vision CD package from the drivers page be sure to click on 3D vision as the product from the drop down menu if you have a 400 series then vid driver and vision driver need to be DL seperatley ..oh got ahead of my self the reason to use the 1.25 drivers is that i just bought the PJD6211 and it isnt even supported until 1.25 ...although its been advertised as being 3D ready for almost a year now !

Any news on allowing us to change projector screen size? I have a 22" monitor and the depth at 100% is far greater than my Acer projector (feels like double). In the registry, when using the 22" the screen size is set at 22". When my projector is enabled the registry is set at 110", my projection is 80" (im thinking this is why the depth doesnt feel anywhere near as high as the lcd).
All drivers upto and including cd 1.19 allowed me to enter the registry and manualy change my screen size, all cd's since have not allowed me to change this.
It is getting very annoying now, as it feels like my experience is majorly dumbed down for no reason i can think of. I got used to the deph of the lcd, changed to dlp projector, noticed the drastic reduction in depth in relation to screen size. So i changed the registry to 80 inch screen, and was happy that it was now back to the depth i was used to. Now after a good few months this is taken away from me, and now for a couple of months still not given back.
Is there any reason why this is now not allowed to be changed in the registry? It does not make sense to restrict the projector size to one size. Surely there is a wide range of sizes that people are going to be projecting.
I am unable to revert to pre cd 1.20 as i need the 3d profiles of the newer drivers for most of the games i am currently playing.

I've had a lot of trouble trying to get WOW to work well in 3D with the current 197.45 drivers, lots of flicker (very hard on the eyes), cool downs not aligned with spell buttons, map and other windows with different focal points for background, text, pointers, etc. The problem gets much worse if I use any screen or depth affect settings above minimum. Tried all sorts of settings, SLi, no-SLi, single GPU, forced frame rendering 1 & 2, minimum ingame graphics settings. Nothing fixes the problems using the current driver.
I have sort of been able to fix it by going back to last years 190.62 driver, no flicker and cool downs in the right spot, but focus is a bit distorted towards the edges and around windows, still a strain on the eyes. Guess I have to wait for another driver update to play WOW in 3D.
Hopefully someone at Nvidia is looking into this and trying to fix it, WOW is rated as Excelant, but it is definately not. Lucky there are lots of other games to play in 3D.

I had the Samsung 22" monitor, could not comfortably set the depth to 100%, was just way too much for me. With the Acer H5360 though, finding the depth is indeed very shallow, setting 100% depth is not even close to enough now (with a smaller screen <80"). I find increased screen size and increased sitting distance from the screen help, but don't have the room to practically do this, nor really want a huge screen. So, would also like to see an adjustment for projector screen size too, possibly adjustment for distance from screen too (if that'd even be necessary?), just to get the same overall depth control/perception as I used to get from the small LCD monitor.
Apparently simple registry tweaks used to allow this to be corrected/compensated for, so adding a slider or two for screen size (or possibly seating distance?) shouldn't be too hard to incorporate for projectors?

Anyone got 3D Vision working with Acer X1230pk Projector?
(Windows7 64bit)
250 Nvidia Card
I'm able to get the projector running @ 1024 / 768 @ 120hz.
however when ever I Clcik the 3d Wizard, or touch the Enable Steroscope mode check box inthe nvidia control panel the sceen simply Blacks out and the Projector states mode not supported.
the Projector is picking p as non pnp Monitor,
I've read that i should be able to change it to CRT mode.. but I've got now Idea where to start doing that,

Hi Derek,
The 3dvision driver checks the monitor you are using and then changes to a res it thinks is good. I think this is because NVidia wants it to be easy to use. But for many people it makes it impossible.
But what you can try is download an inf file like this one http://rapidshare.com/files/379798716/override_hd66_v1.inf
And install that via device manager for your monitor (use the Have Disk method).
Then reboot and try the wizard.
Since you try a different monitor model, the 3dvision driver should try a different res that may work.
It worked for me for a little while, but then the setup wizard got stuck at 1152x900 for some unknown reason and now it just wont work at all.
For me the wizard picks 1152x900 @120hz on my projector, even on 2 different computers! And so even though it passes the wizard as Generic CRT, the 3d effect stays in discover mode no matter what res and my NVidia glasses don't work :(

Well, it got me to the next stage, it installed the drivers, got past the 'now plug in the IR transmitter'
then it fails to detect the 3d monitor,
The projector will happily switch into 3D mode, and it says its running at 1152x900 @ 120hz,
when i Click the re-discover button with either CRT or the DLP box highlights it simply says Compatible monitor not found.
Looks like I'm stuck at the same point as you :(
Tried all the old driver releases (takes some time installing/uninstalling downloading 280+mb data per release (only got 2mb internet :( ))
but no avail..
so no my Nvidia Glasses dont work either... Guess its not quite ready for the mass market
Derek,
Edit should have added

Thanks for the swift responce, give me something extra to try,
Looking into the inf file, it references Optoma monitor will it matter I'm using an Acer?
also max resolution 1280,800 in a couple places, would it break the inf file if i change the max to 1024/768?
either way.. got something new to try after work tongiht.. Cheers :)
