My Acer GD235HZ at 1920x1080P@120Hz has a pixel clock of 285.5424 MHZ, just under the 300MHZ of most of those active adapters you've looked at like the Club CAC-1050. The Club CAC-1051 has 330MHZ.
Some reviewers stated their problems were due to using the PC for the USB power supply, but were remedied by using a wall socket USB power supply.
Ooops, the CAC-1050 is only 270MHz and certainly would not work.
I would call Star Tech before ordering theirs, they have a 1-800 number at the bottom of their product page.
Thanks D-Man11. I have a USB 3 PCI express card that has its own 6 pin power connecter, and I use it for my external drive for speed and the reliable power. I will do the same with the remaining USB hub on it for my adapter.
helifax, I hope it works for you, my only issue is that I do not need a mini displayport, I need a regular Displayport adapter. I will buy the same brand.
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Dell BizLink DisplayPort to DVI-D Dual Link Adapter , ACTIVE , Powered by USB Port , Brand NEW , Dell P/N : XT625 (Electronics)
This is just what is needed for Nvidia GTX670 3D Surround Vision. I had read all the reviews of this and other similar products before purchasing.
This one was the best price by a long way. Others have said that there's not enough power from thier motherboard USB ports. My motherboard features a 3x USB power boost, delivering greater compatibility and extra power for USB devices therefore I had no problems from the start. If you happen to have a less powered USB then as advised in other reviews, get hold of a simple cheap powered USB hub and plug it into there.
My System is as follows
Motherboard = Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3
GFX Card = Palit 2GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 JetStream (Factory overclocked)
Monitor = 3x Samsung 2233RZ (real 120kHz refresh) all using DVI-Dual connection
With this DisplayPort to DVI-D, Active Dual Link Adapter I can use the full 3D Surround vision (3d on three monitors acting as one large screen) leaving me free to use the HDMI port for a spare "utility screen"
I've been running this now for two weeks with no problems and smooth running.
Highly Recommened purchase for any one wanting Nvidia's 3D Surround Vision using any gtx660 series (and above) with compatible set of triple monitors.

Hope this helps you;))
Problem is the Club 3D one is not available for some time now...NO IDEA WHY.... And was a bit over-priced if you ask me. I still hope that the adapter I ordered will work;)) Fingers crossed;)

D-man11, I saw that post before I even posted and the adapter he is refering to CAC-1051 I can't find anywhere. None of the Club 3d authorized online retailers have the product. I think Amazon.uk has one and only one from an unknown seller. No information is provided to determin if this is infact CAC-1051 or the CAC-1050. Fun times.

You all have been so helpfull. Although I am prepaired to order from a European site, I would not order from one that would require me to translate it. As a military soldier I have had issues with ordering product from Europe to a military address.

That's one of the reasons I linked Amazon Germany, I thought you'd find it acceptable.
Club3D has an office there, which would explain the availability there and in surrounding countries.
Odd thing is that they list having a North America office, yet I can't recall seeing their brand for sale in the US. Maybe it's just their pro lines.
You'd think that this slightly higher bandwidth adapter would be readily availably worldwide since Display Port 1.2 has been out for awhile.
You should fire off an E-Mail to them, just to see what there response is.

On a side note the USB consortium just recently finalized a new USB 3.1 10Gbps specification.

Hey,
I made a small tutorial / review based on my experience with a Laptop and the adapter I bought today. I thought to make a new thread that I hope will help other people in the future to select a converter/adapter if they need one;))
The link is here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/571045/3d-vision/-tutorial-review-i-want-to-do-3d-vision-surround-but-my-damn-gpu-has-2-dvi-and-1-dp-what-can-/
I also tried to explain as best as possible (without going into detail about terms and technical stuff) about what needs to be taken into consideration when you want to buy an adapter;))
Hope it helps;))

I forot that helifax uses three Samsung 2233RZ SyncMasters.
They do not support 1920x1080P, so their bandwidth requirements are much lower and will work with any of the adapters.
Casp it looks like your solution will reqiuire getting you hands on a Club CAC-1051. Contact Club, let us know what their response is.
Nice guide helifax :)
D-man11, I realized also with his review. I ended up purchasing the 330mhz adapter from Amazon. Your assistance in this matter has been very helpfull. It was specificly helifax's instructions on finding out what pixal rate my monitor's use and your recomendation for the higher 330mhz adapter that clinched it. When I get it I will be sure to post the final results here.
Helifax, thank you for your review. The instructions that listed on how to find my monitor's pixal refresh rate was the most important part of all of this. I now know that my monitor's have a very high pixal refresh rate so most adapters will not work that well for them.
