ELEX - 3D Vision Fix
  3 / 9
Its really sad to say it, but the game still crashes with your update ! I've tried every thing, even "found" a GOG version, no evil update here either ! This time it crashed just before the intro ended.. then I loaded an old game and there's still some shaders not working correct ! I'll post the log here, in case you do have a moment to look at it.. I'm sorry for all the fuss and trouble for you, I just had such high hopes for this game :/

Hello, I installed the patch, but it didn't worked. I still see shadows at wrong depth. F2, F3 and F4 didn't work. I have the steam version. Has anyone any idea? Edit: I deinstalled the fix and reinstalled it, and also installed newest version of nvidia driver (388.59). Now 3d runs good. But game crashed after a few minutes. I have to see, if this happens again more often. Also Steam-Overlay doesn’t work when the patch is active. The Steam Controller still works, so that is not a real problem.

Hallo together, I was also excited about the released fix, and firstly I want to thank you mx-2 for your work and for sharing the fix. Sadly I have the same problem as some others here, the game crashes after 5-60 seconds with the fix installed. I also use the steam version and have steam overlay deactivated for this game. My nvidia driver is 388.13, but installing another driver doesn't seem to be the solution because some guys here tested several drivers. I hope mx-2 or someone else here who is knowledgeable enough about programming can tell us, which further information from us could be helpful for finding a solution. Does the fix possibly only work with the gog version? Then I have to buy it also on gog, because I'd love to play the game, but not in 2d if there is a possibity to play it in 3d.

I just ported those compute shader point light fixes to ShaderRegex. A new version will be released after some more HUD improvements.
Can you please try the new d3dx.ini with ShaderRegex from my github page and remove all "*-cs.txt" files from the ShaderFixes folder. I guess that the crashes are related to compute shaders. I found some syntax errors inside the manually fixed asm shaders which may be responsible for the crashes. With the ShaderRegex this should be fixed. If it still does not work, try to remove the ShaderRegex section from to ini so that no compute shaders are changed (this will break point lights) and check if it still crashes. Sorry that there is no easy solution as I can't reproduce that crashes.

Sorry mx-2, I have done exactly what you said, but the game still crashes after less than 60 seconds :/ Joker9578@ Read my post in the top, GOG or Steam no difference !!

Hello mx-2, I tried multiple things, but the game crashes eventually after playing a little bit. So unfortunately this makes it unplayable. The game crashes, regardless if 3d vision is activated or not (but the patch is installed). It crashes with or without steam controller. I also tried your corrected d3dx.ini and also deletes the *-cs.txt files, but without success. It's a shame, because the game looks really great with your patch. You've done a great job so far. (By the way, it is even more shameful, that the developers still manage to publish games without proper [or any] 3D!) I hope you will/can fix this. Is there anyway, I can help you fix this? Like giving you log files or something? (Where would they be, or do I have to activate some debug mode to create those?)

I just started playing this. I'm only one hour in (currently at the Separatist's camp). But so far, the fix works great and I haven't had any crashing issues. I have all graphics settings maxed out. I also tested with FXAA, SMAA & no AA. I tried restarting the game a few times, but I'm still unable to get any crashing. The only thing I notice is that if I don't use my native monitor resolution (1920 x 1080), some shaders will be broken (snow, for example). My specs: Win 7 x64 (no evil update) 16 gigs RAM single GPU Driver: 388.59 GOG Game version: 1.0.2846.0 Fix version: 1.2 EDIT: I got the game to crash a couple of times when I had hunting enabled in the d3dx.ini file and the green overlay on the screen. The game loaded ok. But once inside the game world (still in the Separatist's camp), after about 60 seconds, the game started stuttering and I got a an "Out Of Memory" error. I had to hard-reset my computer. But the game runs ok when I hide the green overlay.

Many thanks mx-2 for fixing this game ! I haven't tried the latest fix updates yet but with the first versions of the fix from several weeks ago I didn't get any crashes either. I'm on Win10 with FCU installed and latest nVidia drivers, GOG version 1.0.2846.0.

There is an option that may work with the evil update. read the comments in the d3dx.ini...in the allow_** part.

At least in Windows 10. I tried all the settings there, but the game still crashes. But I got the steam overlay running with "allow_dxgi1_2=2".

Update, just to confirm every thing !! I tried switching back to the original fix with CS on, and WITH allow_platform_update=1, and it crashed as before ! Then I switched back one more time with new d3dx.ini and deleted the CS inputs, and still WITH the allow_platform_update=1, and the game is rockstable :) So it has to be the new fix before it works !! martinprohn@ Make sure that this is what you did, and please report back ! We usually avoid the Steam overlay, as many games dont like it !!
