I'm copying and pasting my message to DHR in this thread: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1028048/3d-vision/need-advice-on-buying-a-1080-vs-1080ti-based-on-the-rest-of-my-specs-/3/
After trying his generalized 3dMiGoTo fix for Frostbyte 3 games:
@ DHR: I activated 3D Vision on NFS Payback and found the usual problems - mainly shadows and object rendering at the wrong depth.
Installing the fix you made corrected many of the issues, enough so that it was quite playable. I was really impressed. Unfortunately however, because of my insufficient hardware, it turned the game into a slideshow. I compensated by lowering the resolution enough to achieve playable FPS (in my case that was going down from 1920x1080 to 1200x600 or something like that) but the "screen door" effect was too much.
The problems I saw regarding the fix/game itself was that vehicle shadows were rendering different in each eye (world shadows were okay), and vehicle wheels were really strange: The outer rim was fine, but the center hub sections were 2D, and they rendered at a different angle in each eye, and neither angle was correct for either eye.

^^^ I honestly won't have time to do that for a while. I usually post on these forums when at work. I won't have another chance to play anything until this coming Sunday most likely.
But to give you more detail, objects render correctly after the fix with the exception of the wheels as I already described. When racing and free-roaming, you don't see them much since the camera is positioned behind the car. Screenshot mode is fun though, so if you like to stop and take screenshots (like I do, then the wheels are a big deal).
The car shadows are slightly broken, but not enough to be painful to look at. They aren't terribly distracting, and honestly, if the wheel issue was fixed (which makes customizing in the garage ugly) I could put up with the shadows. You can also use the hood camera and avoid seeing them altogether while racing.
IIRC, there were a few miscellaneous shadows in the world that weren't perfect, but they were definitely playable.
The skybox may or may not be broken. I don't know because this game doesn't have much of a skybox - it's almost completely clear all the time. The moon comes out at night, but I did not test 3D Vision during nighttime. This also goes for any street lights, etc... I can't say for sure because I didn't test during nighttime.
The hud and map are at a good depth and are not distracting. I had no complaints there at all and the selection reticle and map markers work perfectly fine.
I had to turn down effects quite a bit in order to run at a playable FPS once 3D was turned on, so I can't guarantee that all the effects work correctly, but again, I saw nothing that seemed incorrect during my brief attempt.
Right now, with DHR's fix, I would rate Payback as "FAIR." If the wheels were fixed, I'd rate it "GOOD." And if the car shadows were fixed, I'd rate it "EXCELLENT."
As for the game itself, I would STRONGLY recommend buying it (if you like racing games and NFS in general). IT IS A BLAST. I'm giddy with the fact that they brought back the true spirit of NFS during the Underground2, Most Wanted, Carbon, and Prostreet days. It is a huge, huge, HUGE improvement over NFS 2015. It's not without it's bugs and faults, and anyone can pick it apart if they choose to, but I am shrieking with delight in playing it, even in Cyclops vision.

The 2D wheels is probably related to the profile/driver... sometimes Frostbite3 engine games render some stuff in 2D....maybe need some profile tweak.
The Shadows under the car are another type of shadows that are not included in the Universal Fix. Those need a manual fix....i know what shadows are because i see it in Need For Speed Rivals.
But i suppose all the others Shadows, PS Lights and Reflections are fixed?
Some screenshots will be nice....the idea of those universal fixed is to improve them to cover more and more issues, and also sometimes devs goes crazy and change the vanilla shaders of this engines or add custom effects.

@ Skawen: There's a good chance you can find it on sale around X-mas... I got my copy 33% off over Thanksgiving.
@ DHR: Some things have come up this week that's making my week extremely hectic and stressful.. I don't know that I will even have the chance to fire up the game at all until next week. But I am all for helping fix another game if possible, even if I can't personally benefit from it myself (until I buy a new GPU that is.) I will upload screenshots as soon I as can. Which is preferred, .jps files or cross-eyed images?

Guys, I don't know what to say... I know I wasn't going crazy and the fix WAS working, but now I've started up the game in order to grab some screenshots for you and the 3D is broken again. Nevertheless it does seem to work sometimes... I'm uploading two screenshots of the same area, one is where the 3D looks good (which is what I was seeing before) and one where it's quite broken.
I'm not a shader hacker and I don't pretend to know anything about it, but does anyone have any theories as to why it works sometimes and other times it doesn't?
One thing I noticed is that the game has no SLI profile and they recommend running it using a single GPU. The first time I tried 3D with the fix I was running in SLI and 3D worked, the second time I was using a single GPU and 3D was broken. Based on that, I turned SLI back on, and viola! 3D wasn't broken (or at least playable). But LEAVING the system in SLI, I started the game up again and it was broken again, so SLI may or may not have anything to do with it. The results weren't consistent.
Is it possible that the fix isn't always hooking when the game is started?

Frostbite3 engine sometimes do those crazy stuff. Try to use some know, good profile for another Frostbite3 engine...if i remember correctly Battlefield 1 have a good profile.
You can see in the second screenshot (bad 3D) that the world shadows are still working...the fix is working.

^^^ Yes, I did notice that, however this too is not always the case. It's almost like the game picks completely random things to break in 3D every time it's started. Sometimes the world shadows are broken, and other times they aren't. Sometimes objects in the distance, like shrubs, render completely at the wrong depth... it's really weird.

^^^ Yeah, I'm already getting an unplayable 14-15 fps as it is (with 3D enabled @ 1900x1280). This game would be a great title to be able to play in 3D someday, but it's going to take someone else purchasing/working on it... my hardware and time are both too limited. I'm enjoying it in 2D in the meantime at least. Three years ago playing ANYTHING in 2D would've been a tough pill to swallow, but I'm getting more used to it out of necessity.

That's because in the night, those CS Lights are activated.
Use this file to disable, i don't know how will look at night, probably too dark :(
