3D Vision - resolution reset
I have a problem with the following set of equipment: a single GTX480 card (Zotac AMP!), LG W2363D monitor, 3D Vision glasses. I am using CD version 1.38 (downloaded from the site; the package came with 1.18).

The problem is that any time stereo (or even just 120 Hz refresh rate) is enabled, the resolution (according to the monitor) changes to 960x1080x120 Hz. Looks like every other column is just skipped/doubled. I can see stereo OK, the objects look like they should, in front or behind the screen (except they are more aliased due to the resolution change)... but if there's any bitmap text on screen, it becomes unreadable. This is a problem, since the game I play almost exclusively is World of Warcraft. World of Warcraft is not the only game affected - CoD: Black Ops, Metro 2033, and stereoscopic tests in control panel also reset the resolution, but since these application do not have small bitmap fonts, there the problem is not immediately visible.

The only possible cause of this problem that I can think of is a problem with the DVI cable - it may be interpreted as single link (although it has a full set of pins on both ends); will get a replacement today and see if anything changes.

One other cause of the problem may be that I have a second monitor, 1920x1200, connected to the same card with a dual-link DVI cable as well. I run stereo software full screen, and the monitor used for that is W2363D (otherwise I would not have been seeing stereo at all). I have tried disabling the second monitor in the control panel, and this did not change anything; will also try unplugging it completely today, but even if that resolves the problem, this will be far from the acceptable solution.

If you were using a single link DVI cable, the 3D Vision Setup wizard would fail and not complete. Also your games would go "black" in 120Hz mode. So my guess is thats not it.

Your monitor sounds like it has problems. can you completely remove the working monitor and ensure that the first monitor doesnt work.

Did you ever find a resolution to this problem? I am having the exact same issue with my Alienware AW2310, If I choose HD 1080p 60hz from the resolution menu in Nvidia control panel everything looks fine, but if I do the recommended PC 1920x1080 120hz then the resolution looks like the 960x1080 that you speak of, basically everything is squished in the center and everything is unreadable. Does the same thing in games and I have no clue how to fix it, can anyone help me out?

GTX 470 and Alienware AW2310, most updated nvidia drivers.

Try a different cable, if it'a reporting as 1920x1080 and you only have issues with high refresh rates, I'd bet this is it.
You can have a dual link DVI cable that almost works.
If you're not alread try the one that came in the box they tend to be good.
I have a long Dual Link DVI cable that won't work > 60Hz.

Thanks, I tried a different dual link DVI cable, guess the one I had was too long or something like you said cause its working perfectly now!
