Need help enabling 3d for games (benq1070)
Hi, So I finally got my active 3D glasses and I managed to set it up for movies, using SBS source. Anyway, I just can't seem to get it to work for games. I have gtx 960 with latest driver, I enabled stereoscopic 3d in control panel and still nothing. I play Arkham City in 720@60 and I can't select SBS in PJ settings. I even tried fee trial 3DTV play by nvidia, increased depth and I still can't see it in 3D. I pressed CTRL+T and still nothing When I play youtube Arkham City SBS I see it fully 3D. Am I missing something? How can I play Arkham City SBS 3D? Thanks

3DTV Play is limited to 24Hz at 1080P, contact Nvidia and express your disappointment at the 24Hz restriction and the lack of Side by Side support. http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/chat/chat_launch Or try these numbers US/Canada: 1-800-797-6530 International English: +1-408-486-2000 Games that have native stereoscopic support, like Trine can be played in SbS. Otherwise there are a few games that you can use a community workaround for SbS support. Read this thread. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/912552/ Also, a lot of games do not work well with 3D Vision because game developers do not bother to implement the necessary stereoscopic support. So you'll want to use stereoscopic compatibility patches from the community. http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/10/game-list-automatically-updated.html

If I can't play SBS, how come there are youtube videos of Arkham City with SBS? When I set frame sequential it works but there's no depth, it's really not 3D. Can you tell me what I need to set and do I need anything besides nvidia control panel to enable full 3d experience?

Sure I'm well aware that your projector can display 1080P at 24Hz, but it sucks for gaming. Videos can only be recorded and uploaded in SbS AFAIK, so it doesn't mean that the game was being played in SbS. You need to adjust depth and convergence. http://3dvision-blog.com/111-changing-the-convergence-level-in-3d-vision/ https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/467750/

Also when I set SBS on projector, I don't see split screens like I do on movies. Rather I see one giant image from left to right extended. I feel like I'm doing something wrong.

3DTV Play outputs Framepacked or Checkerboard, it does not offer SbS. You need to set your desktop to either 720p@60 or 1080P@24

Then I get red text on the screen saying that 800at120hz is not 3D compatible....

Also for future reference, if you are having trouble with a particular game, please post in the appropriate game thread if you can not find an answer via searching. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/824274/

That's a known issue with that projector for certain games. The workaround is to use an EDID override or to use CRU (custom resolution utility) to remove all of the other resolutions, leaving only 1280x720. Of course, if someone with this problem were to open a support ticket, it might get fixed. You'll have to use search to find these work arounds.

Yeah I finally figured it out. It seems that I had to set manually resolution in nvidia and monitor 720p@60. After that I had to enable 3d with ctrl+t then hold shortcut for convergence for at least 5 secs. The trick will now be to find the perfect middle so my eyes don't get tired if I set the convergence too big. I tested Arkham City and GTA V and they both work like a charm. Shame that Arkham origins can't display 720@60 but 800@120, so I'll have to look it up for solution. Thanks buddy, you've been very helpful ;)

Here's some other games where getting where getting 720P@60 working in 3DTV Play has been a problem. Lords of the Fallen, Alien Isolation, Metro Last Light https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/793190/3d-vision/can-i-force-a-lower-refresh-rate-on-alien-isolation-projector-won-t-do-3d-at-120hz/post/4381368/#4381368
