Hello Andrew,
Few days ago you confirmed the bug within Optimus drivers. You encourage us to make settings in NVCPL because that was solved?
Or you just forgot about it?
Awww...I've been following this thread for a while and so far I still sees no solution :( I couldn't run L.A Noire at all because of this so called Nvidia Optimus technology ;(

so, I am not the only one with extremely laggy interface...I was wondering why it was impossible for me to run the game on very low resolution with lowest graphic options and still get only 10 fps /verymad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':verymad:' />
With an old Core2Duo and GeForce 450GT I can run Skyrim at 35 fps at least with 3D Vision on higher settings. Dead Island is not a problem too.

Wait... Andrew, could you please explain the 23 value of StereoTextureEnable? It used to be just an on/off toggle on the legacy stereodrivers afaik. Actually can't you give us a list with every option we can set in the registry and the possible values plus explanation? Would be fun to try and make our own profiles, and if they work it might save you some work /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

1. run regedit.exe
2. go to L.A. Noire profile ( Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D\GameConfigs\LANoire )
3. delete Time (Name: Time, Type: REG_DWORD)
4. set StereoConvergence to 0x408a8cf8 (Name: StereoConvergence, Type: REG_DWORD, Data: 0x408a8cf8)
5. copy the hacked nvapi.dll to the L.A. Noire installation folder.
6. freely change convergence value using your keyboard shortcuts.
I could make some screenshots with awesome convergence, but I don't know how.
btw: my hacked nvapi.dll disables the convergence API, so any game where you put this DLL in can't set a hard coded convergence value anymore. I don't know if NVidia approves this, but I'm happy..

L.A Noire is running fine in my PC, the 3D is actually pretty good, better than I expected and the game doesn't seem to have a 3Dvision profile so far. The game is rated unknown under 285.62 WHQL drivers. Pretty good 3D support without profile, that's impressive.
The game has great graphics, I've only played for an hour yesterday, but I thought it had more action, it gets boring sometimes.
I'm not sure convergence will play a big role in this game, I've tried that in Mafia 2 using Tridef drivers, and got tons of ghosting and other 3D issues. This game is very similar to Mafia 2 in 3D implementation. I'll try this fix to see if it helps unlocking convergence.

I changed in the NCP, for my system to run this game "single GPU only" and as far as I can tell, the stuttering that I was getting has stopped and it runs at the full 30fps.

Well, the hacked DLL intercepts any call to "NvAPI_Stereo_SetConvergence". But lately, I also had no luck using this trick on Deus Ex HR. Maybe there's another way for a game to block the convergence. It may directly write into the NVidia parameter texture etc.
NVidia should now best and it would be NO PROBLEM FOR THEM to add a user-offset to the hard coded convergence value.
I don't own BF3 but once I'll buy it there will be a battle field in stereo driver debugging as well..

thx i tried that ..stuttering is gone but can 30fps be so blurry? I mean looking around when the background is scrolling it seems the lines are doubled... really not worth any 3D vision ready mention if this cannot be improved....hope this is fixed in next drivers

I'll try this fix to see if it helps unlocking convergence.

btw: my hacked nvapi.dll disables the convergence API, so any game where you put this DLL in can't set a hard coded convergence value anymore. I don't know if NVidia approves this, but I'm happy..
Hello. I'm wondering if there is a way to get this .dll to unlock convergence in BF3. I tried putting it in the BF3 install folder, but no DICE (Pun intended). I would hate to direct the topic in this direction, so if you feel like it might, feel free to PM me on here.

I changed in the NCP, for my system to run this game "single GPU only" and as far as I can tell, the stuttering that I was getting has stopped and it runs at the full 30fps.

thx i tried that ..stuttering is gone but can 30fps be so blurry? I mean looking around when the background is scrolling it seems the lines are doubled... really not worth any 3D vision ready mention if this cannot be improved....hope this is fixed in next drivers

Here's a fixed nvapi.dll for the new driver http://www.multiupload.com/ZF9IUE97KN
Just copy to exe-folder like the previous version.
