Name your favorite games you wish you could play in 3d
Maybe this thread will help developers figure out that they should pay attention to details that make good 3d gaming possible. Also it's good to remember old favorites that they should make new versions of.
One of the most unique action/driving games is an old game called Rocket Jockey. That game was a real blast and still would outshine the gameplay of many modern games if only more people knew about it. It's an old DX3 game and I can't play it in 3d since it's so old and has no hardware mode. You fly around on a rocket and fire-out grappling hooks to swing yourself around vertical poles for extra tight/fast turns while competing in one of three types of contests: rocker-war, rocket-racing, and rocket-ball. Imagine spiderman on ice-skates with a rocket on his butt in an ice arena and you get the idea. LOL. /haha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':haha:' />

I have a dream of playing Undying in 3D, please tell me nVidia that you can fix a profile for that game couse it's one off my favorites, one off the best game ever :)

Clive Barker's Undying works with older stereodrivers! No matter the halfcrap graphic i would say it's definitely a gem!
I'd like to play aliens vs predator 1 in stereo... I recall the graphic always messed up for me. The second works good but d--n.... :(
Aliens vs Predator info:
I just checked my notes and it turns out that I only tried the demos of AvP 1 and 2 with the same good results. 3d is good, HUD is 2d, use alot of pop-out so that it makes the game-reticle usable (hic-los settings, Hi-Convergence/Lo-Separation). My notes don't say anything about the nvidia LaserSight working so it probably doesn't. I would have to try it again to verify. The trick is that I was using a win98se computer with a GF4 card and driver 30.87. I think it's worthwhile to keep around such and old system. It helps sometimes as recently when I tried some "Lord of the Rings" games. When I installed them on XP, I had no sound from the voice-actors. It's probably an easy fix if you know it but I just used the win98se computer instead.
Since AvP 1 works with driver 30.87, it should also work with the same system using video driver 56.64 and stereo driver 61.76 in PCI mode and not AGP mode. That's one thing I've learned but it's not always true. As you might have guessed by now, I like to test games more often than play them and I usually stop testing once I find a good video card/driver/OS combo. That's why I didn't bother testing 56.64/61.76/PCI mode since I just happened to test 30.87 first and it worked fine so I decided to move on to other games.
It's an older game so I didn't test it on XP so I can't really help you there. I'm sure you know about compatability modes already. Maybe someday there will be a wrapper that emulates a GF4 but I doubt it.
I didn't try this much since I don't generally like games that are very dark and in cramped spaces like the demo I tried, but maybe you can tell me if it's a blast playing as the alien and running on walls and stuff. Which is more fun to be: marine, alien, or predator?
oops, upon rereading your post, it looks like you already knew it can run in 3d but it keeps getting screwed-up. Oh well, maybe someone else will be glad to read this.

Lol! About avp: Playing as a babyalien rules when it comes to funfactor. However: Playing as marine is a pure thrill experience! /yes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Predatorcampaign is imo not the best.
The problems i had (with different drivers but maybe a 5900ultra or so, maybe too new i know...) was that the drawn textures remained on the screen when the scene moved. When loading and enabling stereo i had a proper image for a short while but when i moved around everything turned into picasso...

Likay,
By Picasso, do you mean like candyland. I've seen games where what happens is that all surfaces get new textures and it makes me think of a candyland because of all the bright wrong colors but the 3d shapes are still in tact. If that's what you remember, then you were using a driver that was too new or else your card was in AGP mode when it would have been better off for that game in PCI mode. When I get that effect, then I switch to driver 56.64 in PCI mode with 61.76 stereo driver (56.64/61.76/PCI) or else I just use driver 30.87/30.87/PCI and then it most likely will work. Of course this doesn't help you if you don't have a dinosaur system you can run. Oh well.
oops, rereading your post I see that your problem was different. I have a hunch about that but it shouldn't be right. It sounds like you need to shut off motion blur in the game but that game is too old to have motion-blur so it must be something else. Oh well again. Looks like I have to do more prereading instead of rereading. /whistling.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />

My notes say that Neverwinter Nights has great 3d so if you like Baldur's Gate 2, you might like NN also. You might as well get the Diamond edition. Note that I'm talking about NN-1 not NN-2. My notes say that NN-2 only gave me problems. Either one eye has a stuck view (77.77) or else it's dual-mono (162.15). Of course NN-2 might work OK with newer drivers under vista/3d-vision but I don't have that so I can't test it. (Hey Nvidia, give free systems to testers!!! They can do good work for you. Maybe base it on the number of posts they've made.) I can only tell you what I've tried. It was winXP with a 7800GTX and driver 162.15.
I tried Baldur's Gate 2 with no luck so I haven't even checked the notes since I know it didn't work for me. Although I do think that there is a chance that someone else might have gotten it to work. I'm not holding my breath. There's lots of other things to play anyway.
Some other old RPG's that work in 3d are Might and Magic 7, 8, and 9, but 7 and 8 use sprites so the monsters look like cutouts in 3d space. Still kind of neat though.
Crusaders of Might and Magic also works in 3d and looks like it could be fun because it looks like it has a good number of spells available to you. These are all old though so I only tested them on my old system (win98se/GF4/30.87) so they might not work for you on your newer system.
