Instructions how to make Skyrim look stunning in 3D
  1 / 2
Although vanilla Skyrim looks great in 3D, many people ask how to make it look even better. Now this process will be easier for you guys. I made an Ultra High-Rez texture pack with already enabled ENB. Just follow my instructions and your Skyrim will get amazing facelift. 1. Download my high-rez textures archive. You can do it by torrent (http://www.gamefront.com/files/22636908/SkyrimUltraHDtextures.rar) which is much faster, or manually from this site: http://images.pub.goha.ru/files2/Skyrim/Ultra%20High-Rez%20Texture%20pack2.part01.rar http://images.pub.goha.ru/files2/Skyrim/Ultra%20High-Rez%20Texture%20pack2.part02.rar http://images.pub.goha.ru/files2/Skyrim/Ultra%20High-Rez%20Texture%20pack2.part03.rar http://images.pub.goha.ru/files2/Skyrim/Ultra%20High-Rez%20Texture%20pack2.part04.rar http://images.pub.goha.ru/files2/Skyrim/Ultra%20High-Rez%20Texture%20pack2.part05.rar http://images.pub.goha.ru/files2/Skyrim/Ultra%20High-Rez%20Texture%20pack2.part06.rar 2. Extract UltraHigh-RezTexturepack.rar to Skyrim folder. Overwrite everything. 3. Rename d3d9.dll to d3d9enb.dll 4. Extract Helix fix (https://s3.amazonaws.com/-HeliX-/skyrim.3DVis.zip) to game folder 5. Open DX9Settings.ini, add in [General] this line (should be first): ProxyLib = C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappscommonskyrimd3d9enb.dll Change the path if you have Skyrim installed in differend folder. 6. Start SkyrimLauncher.exe and make sure every .esp and .esm in Data Files is checked. 7. Enjoy Skyrim in its full glory! Texture pack is based on Texture Pack Combiner (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/20801) which includes all the best textures for landscapes, objects, faces, weapons and armor. Ive also included weather mods Climates of Tamriel, Mintis Lightning mod and Immersive thunder. ENB is Superb ENB-RL (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11318) - one of the very few that works perfectly with Helix 3D fix. I put in performance SSAO - no Bokeh Doh preset. If you want HQ SSAO + Bokeh DoH, just download preset from that site and extract in Skyrim folder. With HQ SSAO you might have graphical anomalies, you can fix them by launching ENB Customizer v2.exe and in "Other" tab turning off Ambient Occlusion. This texture pack & ENB makes Skyrim much more hardware intensive. To play it with reasonable FPS you need at least GTX670 video card. But its totally worth it.

I'll look forward to trying this. Do you know roughly what the VRAM requirements are? I'm thinking I might struggle at 5780x1080 with only 2GB of VRAM unfortunately.

Thanks for this, I'll try it as soon as I can, many times I've seen in 3dvisionlive some stunning screenshots with enb enabled, but all my efforts to use enb mods looked terrible, so thanks a lot!

Agreed, his shots on 3dvisionlive are very impressive. Skyrim looks amazing in 3d and graphically it seems to exceed all games(pretty much) with correct tweaking. It is alot of work and alot of research though. Its nice that mindwork posted his settings because many players are playing it vanilla or with inferior settings. Shots by mindwork and a few others on 3dvisionlive really got me interested in skyrim again. I played it prior to mods and really need to give skyrim another chance soon as I go through my playlist. There is a reason why people have spent more time in skyrim then in all games combined this year. Check it out.

Other mods I highly recommend for immersion: Skyrim Redone: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9286 (MUST HAVE mod. Completely overhauls gameplay. Makes progression more fun, fights more challenging, perks MUCH more interesting and useful, better race and sign bonuses, etc etc etc). Frostfall: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11163 (now you can freeze to death and have to stop at inns or make camps to warm yourself) Realistic Needs and Diseases: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26228 (need to frequently eat, drink and sleep or get penalties) Tougher Traps: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/952 (makes traps much more deadly) Immersive HUD: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3222 (shows user interface only when you need it) Deadly Dragons: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3829 (fights vs Dragons from trivial turn to epic) Vilja: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26393 (by far the most developed follower in Skyrim. Thousands of lines of voiced dialogues) Real Wildlife: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9778 (makes Skyrim animals more realistic and interesting) SkyTest: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10175 (changes to animals behavior. More realistic. And more predators all across Skyrim) Alternate Start: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9557 (now you dont have to start again every time from Helgen. Choose your new path and your new backstory) The biggest immersion turning point for me was playing in Dead is Dead mode. Basically if your character dies its over, you delete him. I cant even tell how much it adds to experience. Just try it. You can read DiD characters stories here: http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1420847-the-skyrim-dead-is-dead-thread-xii/

nice list you have there mindw0rk, thanks for that, I'm always leaning to easy mode on games, however once I get my GTX 670 I may try all this mods with you graphic tweaks, right now I have 3 companions that basioally destroy anything before my axe is out (I'm such a lazy bastard lol), so DiD should be an extreme change of pace, some of those memorials are amazing, so all in all it should feel like a new game.

Completely off topic. Sounds stupid I know but I didnt know there were companion mods. Is there one for a DnD style gameplay/dragon age? Ive always loved party based rpg systems more then solo. I understand the game isnt built around it but maybe something with 3 companions like birth did and a real ramped difficulty mode where you play as a healer/buffer would be awesome (to me) Dead is dead sounds scary combined with Tougher Traps @birthright Lol i can totally see your character. Like 100 pounds and has 3 beautiful amazonian type woman fighting the battles. They find amazing armor and he assures the amazonians that there chain mail bikinis will suffice.

well... u were right .. looks amaizing... sad that ambient occlusion is causing some problems :( with it's effect game looks much better, but somehow it's having some stupid effec on shadows so that's why i tunrned it off. Where can we get presets? In Cusomizer there's a chance to save your prsest. Anyone who'll find some polished presets for Helix mode + Ultra Hight Rez modes, u are welcome to share them :)

This looks familiar somehow... http://www.mtbs3d.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=15683 ;) Personally, I've just been sticking with the Imaginator to mess with the colors instead of dealing with an ENB system. The ENBs I tried just never worked well with 3D. I'll see if I can check this ENB-RL thing out.

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. Instead of altering their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views ... which can be very uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.
