Good point. The whole point of G-Sync becomes pretty moot if you can drive it at a high framerate to begin with. G-Sync's best purpose is for cards that struggle with that resolution and would otherwise be bumming along at 30 - 40 fps and producing lousy motion.

You do if you plan on playing in 3D. I'd expect you'd need two at a minimum, if you wanted to play things like AC4 or Watch Dogs. Because the benefits of GSync to a lower resolution won't apply, you'll need to be pushing large frames at high framerates.

I have the 780 ti classified, and have played around with gedosato scaling from 1080 to 1440 resolution, not sure how reliable this is for testing but it does take a hit, but I was able to play most games just fine, but I had to lower some settings. Dead space in 3d with 1440p took like a 20-50 fps hit depending what was happening on the screen. The scaling though doesnt make the game look much better imo though. I really do want this monitor.

So it's actually been confirmed by end users that 3D will be in actual 1440p? I know there's that one guy who was leaving comments, but I always like to have actual confirmation from the field before I believe things like that.

G-Sync is a miracly guys, when talking 2d gaming and I dont care about 3d any more so for me this was the best hardware upgrade ever :)
When playing Crysis 3 maxed out with my GTX 780 I sometimes dip around 30 fps and sometimes over 70 + but I cant really notice the dips, so good is G-Sync actually, it's a damn miracle as I said.
All butter smooth without tering/stutter crap together with perfect 8bit colours and great contrast this screen just rules, go get it as it's the best thing ever come out :D
@Paul!
Yes F*CKN YES for the thousand of times, IT DOES 1440P 3D, Wft how many questions about the same same same over and over, read the F*CKN FAQ!!

Im only interested in this for the 3d at 1440p. G-sync to me is completely unimportant I don't really notice fps drops with sli titan blacks. I reckon 1440p in 3d will give them a run for their money tho, looking forward to getting my hands on this. My games already run butter smooth as it is. Watchdogs maxed out is awesome they where right when they said its a next gen game.

Fine setup you seems to have, so im sure those badboys will power 1440P in 3d damn nice :D
I guess 3d in 1440P will look frikking awesome, such a high rez. To bad I cant seem to come over the fact that those glasses takes away so much details/clarity/contrast, I mean it darkens the picture a lot but I would be the first in line to see how it would look on this awesome monitor with this perfect colours and contrast is has.
So you go ahead and order it allready and report back, okey mate ? :)

haha im off on holiday next week so it will have to wait until after I get back in a couple of weeks. it still is not available yet in my country. You are right tho the glasses do take away a little bit of clarity in 3d. I still cant get over the graphics in watchdogs, as of now graphical wise I would say watchdogs is at the top with sweetFX enabled
I've been looking into this GedoSato thing, and it is kinda confusing on how to set it up, was trying to get it to work with dead space.
Keep us informed - Actually playing DeadSpace in 3D also.... 3D Vision = AWESOME

. For me as you call it 2d gaming is all I ever need as I got more then plenty of deapht so give me g-sync right now and im in heaven :D
What do you mean? What depth?
Also, what is the benefit of gsync? I have seen the diagrams but don't get it. Say I was playing a game in 2d, maintaining 100+ fps throughout. How would I 'experience' it?
Thanks!
Hey Andy!
I mean that I got deapth without using those glasses, aka 2d mode, the deapth is of course not the same as what people call real 3d but I have allways feelt that looking at a flat screen with 2 different pictures for your eyes using those glasses are NOT correct 3d as it's still a flat screen. So it aint natural to yaour eyes, if you will have real 3d go outside and use your eyes, thats real 3d :D
As I said earlier, the novelty did weared of for me and as we all can see now, no one wants it annyway this so called 3d and thats fine by me, better without it mate and here are g-sync for ya!

Man, please do not talk for everyone - I LOVE playing in 3D and I am sure I am not the only one - Hear my words - 3D is not dead. If there is demand, there will be someone to provide the tools.
Asus are not stupid so why did they made a 3D vision 2 monitor???

3DVISION was in the process of dying out; however, there is atleast a chance of Oculus Rift reviving 3dvision, as NVidia is discussing using some of their 3dvision code to help them get up to speed on VR quickly. This could filter back to better 3d support.
