Hatred - 3D Vision
  1 / 4
A couple of weeks ago i see in DSS Github account a WIP for Submerged (DX11 - Unreal Engine 4), he fix shadows. So i try with the game "The Park", the game was using similar shaders that Submerged and fix shadows, also lights and Halos in effects.....i stop fixing because i found a nasty reflections in water puddles (The game is still in my To Do list) This weekend i try with Hatred...this use a different version of UE4 but the pattern for shadows is the same, so i fix: - Shadows - Lights - Decals (a lot of decals, like 60 shaders only in decals....this need a fix in VS and PS) - Halos in some effect (UE3 was a nightmare with the halos in effects) - HUD, i try to make crosshair dynamic....but i can't found a shader with the depth buffer. The game use a compute shader for a Lights type of effect, that i fix tweaking the profile, but produce a cut-off in certain lights (car lights for example). I don't know how to fix Compute shader, there is a new world for me there. well...is not that bad, because is not present always....you can see it in a few places. Also i found the same reflections type than "The Park", but here is used in a few places....nothing serious. Some screenshots: I will be putting a WIP to test this week. There is no thread for this game, so maybe no one is interested.

Yeah, I experienced the same thing fixing XCom 2, which is using UnrealEngine 3.5 and computer shaders for lighting, and experiences clipping on the sides the further you get away from the light source. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a solution to that myself. If you happen to find an answer, I'd love to hear it!

This looks kind of crap to me. Not your fix, the game itself. Seems like a shitty attempt to be "edgy" and "controversial", with little actual substance. Looking up a few reviews, this seems to be largely the case. Of course people should be able to create and play whatever they like, but a game about senselessly killing innocents seems pretty tasteless, especially given the state of the world (just look at what happened in Brussels today). From reading around online a bit, the devs also seem to be neo-nazi sympathisers. For that reason alone, I'd personally recommend pirating it if you have to play it.

Yes, i remember that cut-off light in Bioshock Infinite, but is kind of different, although visually is similar. This is produced in a compute shader, DarkStarSword fix the cut-off it in Batman AK and ROTTR. I want to take a deep look at those Compute shaders DSS fixed (there are all kind of similar). Another good news, is 3Dmigoto SBS and TB mode works perfect in Unreal Engine 4 games, tested in Hatred and The Park. @Pirateguybrush Is just a game...there are games with a lot more gore and violence than this game, and is "normal", but this game don't. Of course, this game clearly is not for kids or people with no formed criterion, like any other violent game. The game have some very nice level design (with a lot of details) and art style...is not the best game of his category, but is fun and is hard (even in normal)...when the police, special service and military guys arrive is really fun....like GTA but in this game all the buildings/objects in the scenario can be destroyed, so is a total mess.

It seems pretty well-established that the developers are Neo-Nazi sympathisers. Call me crazy, but I don't love the idea of giving money to anyone who'd support the Nazis. As I said, you're all free to play (and buy) whatever you like - and you should be. But personally, I find the concept of paying racists for a game that's primarily about shooting innocent civilians to be in poor taste.

I would really prefer we kept politics and ideological/ethical discussions away from this board. It's a slippery slope....

Anyone that have the game, try the fix and report back ** WIP ** Fix: - Shadows - Lights - Decals - Halo in effects - HUD/Crosshair in depth Know Issues: - The tile light (compute shaders) - Some reflections Presets: - "8" key for Menu and Cinematics - "9" key for gameplay...recommended (convergence used in the screenshots), but you can use any convergence - "L" key to cycle HUD depth Instructions: - With Nvidia Inspector, change the stereo flag to this: "StereoFlagsDX10 = 0x00004000" (DSS Custom XML for Nvidia Inspector). This fix part of the compute shader, some nasty lights effect that without this flag render in one eye (game impossible to play in 3D). - Extract where .exe is located https://s3.amazonaws.com/dhr/Hatred.3DFix.zip If you want to use SBS or TB mode, uncomment the [Present] section in the d3dx.ini for this mode. F11 to cycle through different modes. I tested the game using NO-SLI, 364.47 driver and game updated (update #15). **Edit I forgott to mention that i modded a few thing that really this game don't need: - i remove all the red outlines from main character, NPC, guns, etc....really not necessary - i remove a white transparent stuff in main character and NPC, also really not necessary You can see it in this picture (from internet)

** WIP **

Fix:
- Shadows
- Lights
- Decals
- Halo in effects
- HUD/Crosshair in depth

Know Issues:
- The tile light (compute shaders)
- Some reflections

Presets:
- "8" key for Menu and Cinematics
- "9" key for gameplay...recommended (convergence used in the screenshots), but you can use any convergence
- "L" key to cycle HUD depth

Instructions:
- With Nvidia Inspector, change the stereo flag to this: "StereoFlagsDX10 = 0x00004000" (DSS Custom XML for Nvidia Inspector). This fix part of the compute shader, some nasty lights effect that without this flag render in one eye (game impossible to play in 3D).
