Andrew I see you stopped lying but it is to late for me

My CRT is working fine @100Hz and 120Hz with 1.25 and the latest nVidia drivers. Nothing has changed.

If anyone is having problems with getting over 85Hz on a 64-bit OS, use the attached unlocked 64 bit driver. Then you just need to add the modes you want in the nvidia control panel (IIRC you need to use GMT timing not auto).

Yes, because the requirements are a 120Hz screen. Also I don't want to spend £300 on a new screen when my CRT does 3D just fine (albeit with a bit of ghosting). It has has better 2D picture quality than any of the LCDs I've owned, including a high quality Dell 2007WFP (with S-IPS panel). I use it for lots of gaming, 3D and non-3D.

Please tell me where I said, to you, that this was a new product or anything about early adoption? In fact, if you think about what I actually said it would indicate that I think otherwise. I say if you look the information is out there pointing out all the cons of every 3D solution. This information wouldn’t be readily available yet if the products were brand new.
If you can't see past the route Nvidia is heading with this product regarding getting money to make a display "3D vision ready compliant" than you're blind to the facts of this technology.
This is basically licensing and it is a fairly common practice across many many different markets and it has little to nothing to do with the technology.
Yep just don't see any logic in what you said at all and again don't try and tell people what they should or shouldn't stick to, you have no idea of my knowledge so just worry about yourself.
First, I specifically said in my post that it wasn’t a digg on anyone. It is widely known that if one wants the least amount of issues when you game then console is the best choice. Lack of variation in hardware and software makes it easy to iron out most of the bugs before release.

I would have done as you ask and “Don't preach you're opinion to me” or “just worry about yourself” except I thought this was a forum where we were supposed to discuss things.

You need to check your temper and attitude before you start taking things as a personal attack and go trying to start a pissing contest on the forums.

Nice piece of history for those who think this is new. ;) http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dstereo_archive.html and an old user guide someone forgot to erase!: http://http.download.nvidia.com/stereo/30...._User_Guide.pdf (November 8 2001). /santa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':santa:' />
Myself i got into 3d-gaming by the introduction of 4x.xx stereodrivers something i think. I recently upgraded to a mx440 from a riva tnt card and with 3d i was truly amazed! You could almost count the polygons in the games but it was friggin amazing 3d! The rig was a philips crt and a pair of e-d glasses. Following cards were 5900ultra, 6800ultra, 7900gtx... Thank you nvidia for those years!
But then came the worthless 8800gtx... No stereosupport so the card entered my bookshelf for over a year before it got into the computer again. I have yet to overcome some agony over nvidia since this.
However: It wasn't nvidia who made this card go 3d. The guy called himself "Kinddragon" and kind indeed he was! The games played in 3d was Tomb raider Anniversary, Flat out 2 and HL2. The configfiles had to be
edited manually but it was all fun at the time. His drivers still rocks my world but now they're quite enhanced and he gets help by others as well.
There's still no support for old schoolers from nvidia and i would never degrade my dual projector rig unless something better and easier shows up. And the 8800? It still lives in my comp but soon have to make way for something better. I think the line of nvidiacards will be broken though.

Nah well stories...: back to Bamsy and Little Frisky /woot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':woot:' />

Well, I am an admitted nVidia fanboy, although I will put them on blast from time to time for things, and have no plans of running an ATI anytime soon (I better not as I just got 2x 480SC), but as I understand ATI has recently or is going to launch their efforts into the 3D market and I believe it is supposed to be and very open. Will be interesting to see what they offer. If you buy into it I would like to see you report on it here, although I don’t know if the thread would be locked/deleted due to it being about nVidia’s competition.

Really I don't need to a check my temper or attitude, you quoted me and then begin to rant about people educating themselves so yes I do take that as a personal attack.

I merely made a comment directed at the mentality of people being more forgiving with Nvidia thinking this is new technology, I said "people" on this forum like to throw the "early adopter" comment around and no where said specifically you so maybe read the context of it again hey.

Licensing is common practice but that doesn't justify it with this product, if you're happy with that progression for the product that is fine.

I said about how I look forward to the day I just turn on my 3D setup and it all works
"If you want/expect things just to come together in a manner such as “buy it plug it play it” and have little to no problems, then you probably should stick to console gaming" again looks like thats at me.

I never tried to start a pissing contest, again you quoted me and then it was a rant.
Build the bridge mate seriously and be more like fish who posted up a solution, I was merely agreeing with the Topic poster and share his frustrations and that is why I even bothered commenting.

ATi's open initiative is mainly filling the technical gaps to help game developers make games with built-in 3D without 3D drivers, as well as helping the developers who make independant 3D drivers (iZ3D and DDD) to convert 2D games into 3D like the nvidia 3D driver does. But ATi's actual participation is quite small.

Almost every single type of 3D output can already be achieved with both ATi and Nvidia GPUs without drivers, with the exception of the 120Hz pageflipping used by 120Hz 2D displays and the Hdmi 1.4 metadata used for automatic detection of the hdmi frame packing for 3DTVs. All other types of 3D displays already work flawlessly.

Yep, Me saying "If you want/expect things just to come together in a manner such as “buy it plug it play it” and have little to no problems, then you probably should stick to console gaming" and following it with a sentence saying "This isn't a digg on anyone" definitly means it is about 100% directly to and about you.

Whatever, you just are in a bad mood or whatever and want to take things as antagonistic. I have blocked you and I recommend you do the same with me. There, no more problems.

.:edit:.
BTW, I used the block function not because I feel you are a horrid member of this community and never want to see what you say again or anything of that nature. I simply know myself and have an extreme inability to let things go. I always have to have the last word, and I sense you may be a lot like me in this aspect, and as such could lead to an unnecessary back and forth that ruins the thread (even though it didn’t have much value anyway) and gets one or both of us warned/suspended by the mods.

Yo MistaP! SCREW YOU! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hahahhahaha I'm just kidding I agree with you but anyway I should have just PMed this but dude. Are you able to use the New EVGA precision for the 480 and 470 with SLI setup???

I cannot see or find where to get this?? I believe it's because they don't have a sli setup for the program yet. I don't think you can use this with SLI. I hope I'm wrong though. EVGA precision 470

I've said it before but...

more competition can only be a good thing. I'm sure and have heard from independent sites, iZ3D and DDD are perfectly good 3D solutions. Had I heard of them until I had bought 3D vision and frequented these forums? No!
I believe nVidia is simply more mainstream. Once ATi release their solution there will now be a second mainstream company selling S3D. If ATi turns out to be better, nVidia will work solidly to improve 3D Vision. Once 3D Vision takes the edge ATi will pull out the stops... Software houses seem to be either ATi or nVidia so once both have a solution these dudes should also take more notice S3D of now.

Crimson I responded to your PM.

Yeah, the 470/480 series version of Precision is working fine for both of my 480s in sli. Displays everything as it should. This version of Precision is a bit different in that it has the core and processor clock locked as linked and only shows you the processor clock. The shader clock is exactly half of whatever the processor clock is set at in precision. I am not sure the reason for this and people at the evga forums have used other tools to change these two clocks independently and had no issues so I am not sure as to the purpose of this.

As far as where to get it ... my copy came on the CD that came with my gpus. I don't think its supposed to be available for everone yet ... atleast I havn't seen it to download but I havn't really looked either.
