Booooo! Battlefield 3 is 3D Vision Ready :( No convergence.

Watcha. Didn't realise B3 was 3D Vision Ready. Gutting. Anyone know if it is possible to unlock convergence? Thanks!

It's fake 3d, try it on tridef if you can, it actually works really well, the airplane scene is one of my top 5 3d moments

what? I'm saying that BF3 3d is fake ala crysis 2 3, at least the effect was completely underwhelming using BF3 ingame 3d. Nvidia rates the games according to the number of issues they have, and since fake 3d has none, they are effectively 3d resdy

@birthright. I missed out 'to nvidia'. I have edited it in. I still can't handle fake 3D - I literally struggle to watch it. Playing B3's intro mission (and Crysis2) felt funny; how gaming in 2D now feels funny.

It was no fake for sure and you could change depth, convergence and weapon convergence separetely! You just had to do it from console. I don't remember commands but i have macroed them to my keyboard. Google can help here. Like i said don't know if things have changed... edit. Default settings was crap.

Yea, def. not fake 3D. You got to adjust everything yourself. http://3dvision-blog.com/6569-console-commands-for-3d-convergence-adjustment-in-battlefield-3/

It's not fake, its just crap. The FOV and gun position don't allow for a very high convergence.

Increasing FOV - Increases World convergence [non-gun] Decreasing FOV - Deacreases World convergence [non-gun] Prob. just need to tweak it.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately the max convergence before weapon doubles is way too low (1.6). The minimum convergence for me seems to be >5. The game begins to toyificate >7. Below 5 and the game feels 'funny', like playing in 2D. Is there a way to stop the gun from rendering like you can in Crysis2?

Oooh! I didn't see that one. I tried the zoom but that's for iron sights which ifs very cool. I could only see 3 settings (convergence, zoom and one I thought controlled depth). Where is the setting for weapon convergence?
>renderdevice.stereosoldierzoomconvergencescale< should be right one to adjust.
Hello mate That's not the one. That controls the convergence when you are zoomed/looking down iron sights. (A very handy control all the same!) It is the default view, where you see the gun at the bottom right of the screen, which is the problem. Increasing the convergence to anything remotely acceptable for 3D gaming causes the gun to pop out far too much. Anything less and the convergence is so low it looks flat and makes my eyes feel funny; almost like they do when I try to game in 2D. :(

Maybe.... #seta g_gunY -0.6 #seta g_gunX -0.1 These console commands were mentioned in the Doom 3 BFG thread, perhaps they'll work in BF3? https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/526210/3d-vision/doom-3-bfg-in-3d-amazing/
