Extra Glasses - Severly overpriced. Is there a cheap option that works with 3D Vision kit?

$150 is ridiculous for an extra pair of glasses. Are there generic shutter glasses that would work with the 3D Vision/kit emitter? I want a second pair for my wife, but she won't use them enough to warrant another $150 smackers...which did I mention was RIDICULOUS!??!

NVIDIA must have high margins on these glasses, Why is it that oem's haven't been able to produce the 3dvision kits?
Two reasons are holding me back from 3dvision, lack of choices on the glasses with lower prices, and lack of a 24" or 30" hd monitor.
Seems the only way NVIDIA is going to make money on its proprietary solution is to sell the glasses at an outrageous price.

Well you gotta think the 3D Vision kit is $200.00 ... and the IR Emitter definitly doesn't make up for even half of the cost of producing one kit. Granted I don't even begin to express what their markup for profit may be, but I can assure you the glasses probably do realistically make up 3/4 of the production cost of the kit. How cheap a kit is to make I don't know.

I think its yet to be seen how 'technologically' advanced these glasses really are... or at least what makes them so expensive! (The battery or lens perhaps?..shrug).
Im positive they could be made at $100.... I think they are probably just trying to make it worth their while in development. As soon as competitors show up they will probably drop considerably.

On top of that, how long does a credit card process take?
Damn, I ordered a extra kit since the price for just one pair of glasses was damn near the price of a kit and payed for next morning delivery so My gf can enjoy this as much as I do.
I see why many people are starting to get pissed off @ nvidia.

I imagine it's expensive simply because it's such a niche product. The best marketing I can think of would be to bundle red/blue 3D glasses with all video cards so people can try 3D discovery. Although, with all the bugs, that could backfire.

Part of the problem is that it still looks to be very exclusive in who offers them. Tiger/CC has some type of exclusive on internet sales that I hope expires very soon. Solid competition from AMD is the only thing that will probably help, as usual.
If this starts showing up at Best Buy, Amazon (not 3rd party), etc, there would be at least some price pressure.

10 years ago when the revelator shutter glasses and ir emitter were popular they cost about $100 or even less if you got a good deal. I have bought a total of 3 of them cause after a couple of years of heavy use they stopped working.
I hope the nvidia ones are better quality if they charge THAT much for them.
$59 would be more reasonable for the kit, $29 for extra glasses.

I want to get another pair of glasses but the price is holding me back at the moment. However, I guess I don't really have a good reason to get another pair either...and by the time Avatar comes out on Blu Ray 3D, an extra pair should be less than $100...I hope.
