Any suggestion about how to wear the hmz-t1? I've tried everything and although I like it a lot, if I use it for more than 1 hour it really get's too heavy and annoying on my head and neck.

Fitting the HMZ-T1 is quite tricky. It took me 3 days of trying to figure out and find the secret. You need to move the top and bottom headbands as far down and back of your head as possible (almost on back of your neck) in order to ease the pressure from front. The whole idea is to wear the HMZ-T1 straight horizontally and not tilted downwards on your nose and forehead coz that will cause most pressure to be felt on nose and forehead. Most people can't see themselves while having HMZ-T1 on and they don't realize they are actually wearing it tilted and not horizontally straight. I was doing the same until I found the way it is designed to fit

Thanks for all the suggestions, and interesting video Easty, I think I'll have to try something like that. I can get the HMZ to be comfortable enough by doing the same thing Captain007 suggests, moving the headbands down so that the pressure moves from nose and forehead to the back of the head, however no matter what I do, it get's too heavy after an hour or so, so something like your helmet mod looks interesting though I'm terrible at doing stuff like that, but I'll give it a try.

Will be getting my hmzt1 next week. Can't wait to try it out. Just so I'm clear at this point I just need to download the latest beta driver and connect the hmd to my computer and use the update utility from Andrews first post right? I currently use 3d vision with the emitter on my hd66 projector

I am running the latest Beta drivers and the update that Andrew provided at the start of this thread. Everything works 100%. I have a 55" 3DTV as my main monitor and when you switch the HMZ-T1 on, Nvidia control panel recognizes it, changes resolution all automatic. Turn the HMZ-T1 off and everything changes back to my 3DTV settings.
The only issue I have run into, If I restart my PC with the HMZ-T1 activated, sometimes it doesn't load my Sli 570 cards. Now when I do a restart I switch back to my TV. Upon reboot everything works, then turn on HMZ.
When I updated to the latest Beta drivers I had to re-register my 3DTV play activation. Ran the activation utility again and everything was good to go.

I thought I might add my findings on comfort and focus:
I tried all three forehead pads and found that they all kept my eyes too far away from the screens causing anything on the sides of the screens to be out of focus. I used a small piece of weather stripping (Thin foam with a sticky backside)from a hardware store, stuck it right on the plastic where you would attach the forehead pad.
The other problem I found was the nose area on the headset is not wide enough for my big nose. I could not get the headset to sit low enough to be in perfect focus. I used sandpaper and sanded away at the plastic until the nose width was wide enough to fit nice.
Now the headset is in great focus and I can wear it for a few hours at a time

thanks for the reply wolffkran. I've been playing Skyrim in 3d on my dlp projector which has been great but I really hate the loss of brightness that comes from using the shutter glasses. Can't wait to see it on the HMD in full brightness with no change to color.

Actually, I've been using the HMZ-T1 for two weeks with the latest beta drivers (290.36) and without the patch provided by Andrew, and everything seems to work flawlessly... I'm not sure what this patch is supposed to do anyway, maybe I'm missing something, but it doesn't seem mandatory to me.

Hello,
sorry for bumping this thread up, but I am a bit confused and can't find the exact issue I have:
I own a Sony HMZ-T1 and just bought a GTX 970. I do the following:
- Set primary (and only) screen to HMZ-T1
- Enable 3D Vision
- After that, the slide to set up the depth and the option to change key shortcuts are greyed out
- I can anyway do the 3D Test, and it works on the HMZ-T1
- The prompt '3D enabled' appears in my HMZ-T1 even in the dektop, so it detects 3D signal. Desktop changes to 1280x720
- I boot up any game with 3D: DmC, Ultra SF IV, Metro 2033, whatever.
- I set up game resolution to 1280x720
- HMZ detects 3D, prompt appears at the top left.
- However, no 3D is enabled in the game at all. Ctrl+T or the rest of shortcuts don't trigger anything, and it's pretty clear there's no 3D. There is no message displayed at the bottom right either.
- If I boot up the same games with 3D enabled on my monitor (passive technology, which 3D vision detects as 'red-cyan 3D', I have 3D enabled in the games, the help message on the bottom right appears, and Ctrl+T triggers the 3D, and all the other keys work.
What happens? Why everything works on my monitor but not on the HMZ, while the test actually works?

Now I have my monitor at 2560x1600 and switch on the HMD and it automatically switches to the clone mode I had it set to. 1080 24hz or 720p 60hz.
Then I switch off the HMD and it jumps back to the native resolution.. Bonanza!
