so I can't use this LG as my monitor then since the 3D effect will not be there?
You can use a LG 3DTV as monitor but with LG glasses with the pyramid connected to you PC or buy the Nvidia 3DTVPlay licence. (very late answer sorry)
I'm pretty sure you don't need a pyramid or the 3DTVPlay license. I run my LG 3DTV with one of the EDID overrides, no pyramid and my 3DTVPlay license not installed, and 3D works normally.

Nvidia 3DVision is "frame sequential" (exept if HelixMod patch is set otherwise via .ini).
Nvidia 3DTVPlay is "HDMI 1.4 frame packing".
Your TV accept "side by side" / "top and bottom" or "HDMI 1.4 frame packing" (and sometimes "checkerboard") but never "frame sequential".
I don't know what your EDID does.

I know this was aimed at the OP and his display, but I wanted to point out that there are other 3D HDTVs that support Frame Sequential. Mitsubishi and Samsung DLPs supported interlaced frame sequential.
Also certain Panasonic LCD TVs supported the format as well, to a limited degree.
Minimum game FPS for acceptable “smooth” motion is another area of personal preference. For me, I can adapt to as low as 20 fps in most games, as long as display lag is low and game resolution is high (like 4K) - although 30 fps or more is preferred...
Yes, but that's also subjective, and only true for gaming genre's that's not really frame-rate bound or single player games. Most competitive games I would say you are at a supreme disadvantage running below 60fps on pc, and some fighting games such as killer instinct won't even let you play ranked online unless you can achieve this framerate.
Personally the bare minimum I can tolerate in any game is about 45fps, anything lower and I get motion sickness and headaches.
