Yeah, the 660 is reasonably quiet - I'd like for it to be a little quieter myself, but I run water cooling with no fans (on the CPU only) just to minimise noise, so I'm a little oversensitive about it.
Instead of the 670, you could go for the 660 and add another $150 to that $200 you're saving. Use that $350 to upgrade your motherboard/CPU sooner than planned, and hopefully a bit after that you can put in a second 660 (at which point they'll probably have dropped in price)

Yeah spend as much as you can on the card, i went from a 580 to a 690 recently and it's beautiful. If it wasn't a violation of gods law I'd make it my wife.

I find that 3D Vision really benefits from SLI to the point that I would maybe consider two lesser cards than one 1 higher spec'ed one.
At one point I had a single 580GTX and 3D Vision didn't feel nearly as smooth as it did once I had the second one installed. 580's are very strong cards, so it seems the dual GPU is a bigger factor in smooth frames than overall GPU power for 3D Vision. Perhaps it was just my setup, but I can see them optimizing the process of having each GPU cover one of the two angles needed to be rendered and it smoothing out the overall process.
Now I have a 690, and I would marry mine too if Titan and it's twin sister, erm Titan hadn't shown up on the scene (whispering, "All Skyrim hi-rez texture mods" into my ear).. one can dream..

Well i purchased the 670.
I set up the ASUS VG248QE 144Hz 1ms monitor.
Uninstalled ATI *(CCC uninstall, ATI hardware uninstall thru manager, used ATI uninstall tool to find and uninstall all ATI files)
Installed the 670 & updated to 314.22 drivers. Installed GeForce Experience. & hooked up 3D vision.
Very disappointed. Last night and this morning I tested the new monitor with my ATI 6850 in WoW.
At 120 & 144Hz the quality was equal. WoW settings on Ultra In one specific spot I avg 41 FPS.
After changing card out to 670 and logging back in to WoW. I only get 34 FPS.
GeForce Experience found my games but "Can not optimize" any of my games.
My guess is because I'm running an APU instead of CPU. And before anyone ask. Of course the video of APU is disabled.
I've reinstalled the drivers 3 times. Driving me crazy why the 670 is giving me such bad performance compared to my ATI 6850. (also very noticable drop in perfomance in skyrim. Only 2 games I tested so far)
If you are running an APU a 670 will be hugely bottlenerked, plus, Skyrim and WoW depend almost entirely on CPU performance.
CPU performance has nothing to do with the 670. The complete setup is exactly the same from using my ATI. Its truly an apple to apple comparison. Just the video card and driver changed. the ATI 6850 should not out perform the stock overclocked version of the 670. Plus.. the CPU of the APU is not taxed in any way. Its the A10 series 3.8Ghz quad core that will clock itself to 4.2Ghz. WoW on 1080 & Ultra never really taxed my last cpu either. Phen II 3 core 2.8Ghz. I received no jump in FPS going from old cpu system to my current using the same ATI card.
Anyways... thanks for reply but any other ideas?

Get rid of the GeForce experience. You can check out the related thread and see what a buggy mess it was at launch and still is. It was not made with 3D Vision in mind, it targets 2D noob users that do not even realize that manual adjustments can be made. Most of the profiles were made by users participating in the Beta, that was not that long ago. We all know how widely systems vary from user to user, what is optimal on my system, is not necessarily optimal on yours. So yah, uninstall that garbage.
In the Nvidia control panel set it to performance. Are you running DX9 or DX11 in WoW? These newer cards run way smoother using dx11 in WoW.
You can try these macros to be sure
/run print("gxApi: ", GetCVar("gxApi"))
/run message(GetCVar("gxApi") == "d3d11" and "using dx11" or "not using dx11")

Its DX11. Had that setting since the ATI 6850. Its a very noticeable difference to miss.
Sadly my system was built around AMD. Even the MB chipset is AMD. Even though Windows 8 has shown that it kept the AMD MB chipset drivers after uninstalling ATI.. i'm currently DLing gigabytes MB amd chipset drivers to re-install just to make sure. Its taking 3 hours because gigabyte capped DL speed.. grrr
But also remember. Its not just WoW. Skyrim took a big performance hit also. Same settings I used with the ATI.. just video card and driver change.

BTW. Besides having lower performance issue in 2d. The 3D vision does look awesome :)
Just can't wait to figure out why performance is so bad so i can have smooth 3D

It doesn't matter how you look at it, you aren't getting everything out of that GPU because of your processor. I went from a 2320, to a 3570k at 4.4Ghz (at stock clocks they have near enough the same performance), the performance jump was GALACTIC in CPU intensive games, don't underestimate the importance of the processor.
And like I said, WOW and Skyrim are well known to take stupid amounts of CPU and ignore the GPU. Try something like Crysis, Max Payne, AC3 (my CPU idles playing this).
Also maybe your expectations were too high, a 670 is only about 2.5x the speed.

does tests. He also reviews monitors. Id read about it before you get them.
