I'm still having this problem WHAT THE HELL NVIDIA.

You are a goddamn multi-million dollar corporation and you seriously just released defective drivers while not even helping people who already own it. Complete bull.

ok i had this issue also and i got it to work

i had some game's whit graphic laag so i did a update of my drivers wich turn out bad so i removed evrything from the driver's realy evrything that was reading nvidia in my program's only kept my 3d vision video player.
reinstalled whit the new drivers ofc and had the same error so first i just rebooted, dident work, got on this forum try'd some fixes from other peeps wich dident work bhut helped me out.
so from scratch, after install run the setup wizard and pick the 3d vision discover and run tro the setup wizard whit errors and evrything saying hi.
after the wizard you should see that the enable 3d box is marked to be active. leave it there and your 3D stil wont work.
reboot whit these settings so it safe's after pc is rebooted again open the control pannel and turn off the 3d enable and reboot whit that aswel.
naw after reboot go back to the control panel and dont turn it on just start the wizard and pick the one's u need, after it says to turn on the piramid you wil get the error again and the piramid stil wont be bright green (so stil the darkish green wich u get as soon as your pc has bootedup) just this time hit ok and expand the wizard again (the wizard should be minimazed to tray when u get error and u just want to expand from tray) if its back at fullscreen you should notice your piramid glowing bright green and from here on just run forth whit the wizard useing glasses ect and it works :)
hope this helps some peeps

note's

i got 2 screens both run ad difrent resolution and difrent hz, my 3d screen runs at 1920x1080@120hz (the asus 3d screen) and my secondary screen runs at 1680x1050@60hz some philips hd screen bhut not inportant. (that u have to change the refresh rate to 120hz aint a bug u need 100hz or more and its not a nvidia setting so if putting the monitor refres rate to 120hz fixed the issue than nvidia cant realy do anything about it and your pc works fine)
also for the 3d screen use the dvi cable that came whit the screen the first time i tryd 3d i was useing my cable of my older screen and that dident work after looking closer i sa that there was a diffrence between the cable's so seems they save up on copper on cheaper dvi cable's whit not putting all the extra pin's inthere.
also make sure before u installe driver's from the piramid that it is not plugged in your pc, install the piramid drivers-> reboot and than plug it in bhut not sooner

os: win vista ultimate 64bit
cpu: intell Q9650
mobo: asus P5Q Pro
gpu: asus model- geforce 9800x2
mem: corsair ddr2 4x2gig 1333mhz

oky got a easyer way wich turns out to be working just perfect no bug's at all, its just downgrading to version 260.99 instead of useing 266.99, here are the links and detaild info on how to do it, do yourself a favor read it tro the first time rather than following it step bye step from the first shot.

download this driver
download this controller driver

put it all stored somewhere save (considering you probertly hit save it probertly wil be save) and open config screen and open the software thingy where u remove evrything from nvidia
note: dont use a clean install it doesent do the trick for some reason (dont ask why i dont program stuf i just mess around whit things)

once evrything is removed reboot ya pc and let windows install the basic gpu drivers and it wil tell you to restart so gues what, yes u restart your pc again
while restarting unplug the cube from ya pc at the moment your bios is loading, u could also turn off your pc unplug the cube and than start it up

once your pc is booted no more driver installations hopping up (the cube unplugged aswel and dont already start changing resolution's or anything just let it be its not inportant it wil even waist your time) u open the first driver program and install that one (not the controller driver the gpu driver is what u want)
nothing special here just let it do its job install evrything like it should once that's done plain simply reboot your pc again

once its rebooted change the resolution and evrything to your likeing's (i also putten the hz to 120 on my 3d screen and both my screens at max resolution and my second screen is max 60hz so putten that one at 60hz aswel) k so at this point your gpu driver is completely installed like it should be bhut we are stil missing the stereoscopic 3D (yes the cube is still unplugged) so u might wanne try if some earlyer problems u had whit program's like flash being a b*tch or youtube clip's making your pc crash or give ya a flashing screen (great for epileptic peeps, reminded me drowning pool - body's)

if evrything works like it should u run the controller driver (cube stil unplugged) just keep hitting next and accept (just install it like u install evrything eals, dont read anything) untill it says finish (should say something comming down to the fact the driver is installed bhut it couldent find the cube wel yeah duh we stil got it unplugged)
k so just reboot the pc (last time) and this time when its turning off and on (or loading the bios) just plug the cube back in (once again u could just turn off pc, plug in cube nice and gently and start the pc up again)

k so i did the reboot quick plug in stuf and i sa my cube flashing red at first after wich it turnd off totaly and when windows was loaded it was the dark green so yeah u should have dark green nothing special right naw. so open the nvidia control panel go to the place whit the wizard (weee the wizard of oz *cough* oky lets move on) naw u could just run the wizard bhut i just marked the box "enable stereoscopic 3D" and the wizard auto started, just folow the wizard step bye step and your done.

i'f heard rumors about peeps useing the 266.58 driver thats curently on the "market" and they seem to have no problems whit them and i also tryd to find the 260.99 driver again on nvidia... seems like there where to much problems whit it and they took it off there server's so this thread could be kinda outdated already
