Just to clarify, this is not just an issue with "sleep". The problem also happens when you manually power off the monitor via the power button. Internally, it is virtually the same thing, but I don't want anyone who has not bought one yet to think that it is only a sleep problem. If the screen is not displaying anything, and the power cord is plugged in, you will have the problem regardless of how it got there, whether it was sleep, or touch-button power off... now that's out of the way, just wanted to report that I got a full refund last week, no problems whatsoever. If you guys really want to get their attention, send back the monitor and get your money back. When they ask why, tell them nicely that the TX models are defective, and that you will purchase another one when the problem is resolved. No reason to get nasty with their support people, they only have as much information as their bosses / supervisors give them, and that information comes from R&D in some round about way. Plus, other manufacturers are going to start popping up making the 3D Vision 2 monitors w/ Lightboost and built in emitters, so.....

well i just ordered the TX and.. bumped into review on newegg's site that lead me to start searching about the problem. and.. already canceled it.
so i posted on Benq facebook page what they are gonna do about the problem and here is the answer:

"Simply contact our RMA dept (866)600-2367 and our service tech will take it. A firmware has been released and all current model
do not have this issue. To clarify: When the PC goes to sleep mode (Energy Saving) power down, the 3D emitter is also powered off.
Since it does not sense connectivity/power, the monitor can be reset or reboot the PC."

My answer:
so i wonder if i will order a new one which i might planning to .. like from newegg or tiger direct or any other store will it have the problem?
because i dont want to start dealing with RMA about product that have a manufacture defect. oh and how do i know if i got the one with the *new firmware* ?

And this simply means that the firmware update cannot be applied manually by the user?! Bummer!

i guess so. the only thing u can do is rma yours and get a new one from them
as they replied to my last comment "We can't comment on other retailer's policy cause we don't know what their condition are. All new XL2420T/TX purchase/shipped from BenQ webstore (Shop.Benq.Us ) will have new firmware."
it seems like the guaranteed that if u buy from them u wont have the problem ..hope so.

What the heck! I bought last March 30 from them, so I guess that isn't one of the new models yet, right?

i dont think its the updated one. but
as long as u dont experience any problem with the emitter you are good ! i dont think that every TX monitor with an "old firmware" get this problem
so if u have it over almost two month and everything work correct so there is not really place to be worried ..and if u will have it in the future i think
they will replace it for you with a new one.

The thing is that I still don't have the monitor because it is still on its way (by Ocean Freight) to the Philippines. I will be very disappointed if I experience the problem since they don't even provide, or for what its worth sell, internationally.

you can ask them @ Facebook on my post there, if the monitors that shipped from your date are might be affected. i hope for u they are not .. and if they are .. hope you get one that works well :)
i know this kind of frustration by dealing with stuff that gonna give you a headache , that's why i want to clear up things for me and for others before buying and paying top dollar from our own pockets.

Though how did you know that not all first batch XL2420TX's produce the same issue?

Effin BenQ! They already replied to my comment on your post regarding the emitter problem and they mentioned that the end-users cannot upgrade the firmware on their own. How will I suppose to RMA this from the Philippines?! It will cost me a lot of money even though I still don't have the actual monitor right now. Would BenQ Philippines honor the RMA, if ever? I remember BenQ USA telling me that the XL2420TX is only for the USA. So what choice do I have?

Does the problem occur if I keep powering off the monitor every time I sleep at night (while the computer is turned ON)?

as they said : "When the PC goes to sleep mode (Energy Saving) power down, the 3D emitter is also powered off. Since it does not sense connectivity/power, the monitor can be reset or reboot the PC."
well if the emitter not working u will have to do hard reset by unplug and plug the power cord. this might fix the problem... and u'll have to do that every time it happens. which is sux.
about RMA in the in your country - "This update requires a specific cable to plug in directly to the circuit board"
u need to call them and ask whats your options. hopefully they can give u service or be guided by Benq USA and just update the firmware! and your good :)

I know. I was the one who asked in that post in facebook. What I want to know is why do some people say that the problem occurs EVEN WHEN NOT IN SLEEP MODE. BenQ said it only happens when the computer sleeps, people say not ONLY in that instance.
