What drivers allow for smooth stable 60fps gamplay in Burnout Paradise in 3D?
I played it on 2x slower PC in 2D, now it stutters weirdly. Either it has a problem with 4 cores, with win7 (played on C2D +XP before) or this is a driver issue.

Despite being 8 years old now, my favorite racing game is still Need for Speed: Prostreet. It is flawless in 3D, and it was made right when lighting effects really took another step, so the dated graphics are not terrible. The driving is not simulator level, but not nearly as arcade as most of the other NFS titles. There's just so much that the game did right IMO. It's just a shame that so many of the cars are old or obsolete now, and there's no chance of seeing newer ones. I still haven't found a racing game better even after all these years. There are several that do certain things better, but none of them are a better overall package.

I disagree with vulcan78 about GRID 2.
It's one of the most awesome looking games I saw. Best driving game in terms of visuals (I concentrate only on tracks, I don't care for cars look or interiors at all).
Driving model is crap - OK, in this, I agree.
I play at maximum separation, from close distance, and on 3D Vision 2 monitor/glasses. It is AWESOME. The immersion of speed is great. (I only play hood cam, last game I used "behind the car" camera was Screamer 2 in 90's, I think) or even bumper cam (practically unusable in Grid 2, unless you memorize track in 100%). The sense of speed is even better in 2D 120Hz, but overall - 3D wins, without a doubt.
And I finished the game (single player) twice now. Plus - on multiplayer - no one seems to know the tracks, all players make stupid mistakes, so it's a game that is "beer friendly" in online mode. That is a great thing, for me. ;)
G:Autosport has driving model fixed, well almost. It's much better than G2 though. I recommend G:Autosport if you never played G2 and G:Autosport. It's cheap now, even below 10$ on some sales. :)

I can attest for NFS: Shift being great, and I heard Shift 2 is just as well, but these are probably not the type of NFS you are looking for, in which case I would suggest Burnout Paradise as an alternative. There's a fix for NFS Hot Pursuit on the Helix site, but it's not a full featured fix so I didn't play more than 1 race with it. There's another fix for NFS Underground, but I don't have that game so cannot attest to it's quality.

I am more a track racer and saw that RACE 07 and GTR Evolutarted were in my steam library. Started them just to see how they would look in 3d and to my surprise they looked awesome ! So i would recommend those 2. Flatout games are fun for 15 minutes but not my cup of tea although they would probably rock in 3d.
