3-way SLI support
Does 3dvision scale accordingly when using 3 or 4-way SLI? Last time I knew 3 or 4 cards only scaled as good as 2 cards.

FYI, I just read third card gets used for physx. So the answer is NO, 3dvision does not support 3-way sli.

Hmm that doesn't sound right, dunno. But if that's the case, I do believe that's the case, anything from a 8800GTX up can be used as far as I know for a dedicated PhysX card.

Thinking about it PhysX cards are not linked via the external SLI cable, it's more likely the 3rd card plays a dual role, but it never becomes a dedicated PhysX card.

How about a link to where you read this?

BTW OP, there is a SLI forum, this question would be better asked there.

Since we're talking primarily about 3dvision support, IMHO this is the best place to ask. Here are the relevant links:

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that you posted in the wrong forumn. My thought was that you would have a better chance of getting an answer there.

Yah, after looking at that thread, I do recall reading about this.

If 3D vision supports 3-way SLI then I will open up the box I have sitting under my desk and add a 3rd 680 to my machine. However, I am sure that the 3rd card is relegated to physx judging by information of the web and nvidia driver releases.

If I can't sell this 3rd 680. I will put it in my machine and end this debate for good.

Well that review is fine and I'm sure 3-way SLI is great for multi monitor gaming. But when you put 3dvision into the equation, that third card is utterly useless.

I am on 3-Way SLI since gtx480 and i play every game witch equal GPU efficiency. Third card gives you effective power - easy seen betweene 2-way and 3-way sli. New games in S3D need three cards to go maximum - althou i agree that there is no game at the moment which can efficiently use gtx680 in 2-way sli even in 3D Surround. So there is no poit to go 3-way sli if you got gtx680 (till Unreal Engine 4 i think).
