The new 3D Vision drivers don't really work with MW2.
1 / 2
I was running MW2 perfectly in 3D, then I installed the new beta NVIDIA driver, and the newest 3D vision driver and the game is completely unplayable.
I'm talking stuttering, freezing and incredibly low framerates (until I turn it off, of course.)
So, I uninstalled everything, reinstalled the 191.07s and now I'm back to perfect performance. (Yes, the sodding crosshair is annoying, but hopefully someone can remove it.)
I don't think these new drivers are working well at all, so if you're not happy, roll back and see what happens.
My rig:
Asus P6T X58 DDR3
Intel CORE i7 920
Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme Heatsink + 1366 Bolt-thru Kit + 120mm Fan
Kingston 6GB 1333MHz DDR3 Triple Channel Kit
Geforce GTX 295
Windows 7 Professional (64 bit.)

I'm thinking Activision is the biggest reason this game doesn't have a 3D Vision Ready rating (being the most anticipated game release of the year, by far), since Nvidia would be absolutely bonkers not to make it one. Kind of sad that they've been officially pushing the hardware for almost a year now, and they can barely set up new games with acceptable profiles, never mind a steady flow of 3D Vision Ready games. I realized about the time when RE5 came out that the only time Nvidia makes a title 3D Vision Ready is when they feel like going the extra mile with marketing and getting lots of publicity. By this point in time, they shouldn't still be treating 3DVR as a special occasion that we only get twice per year. 3D Vision Ready should be the rule, not the exception, if they ever want to get this product past the niche market stage. For shame, Nvidia and all the devs that don't want to work with them (unless they actually ask the dev for money to make it 3DVR, then just screw Nvidia).

Other than the crosshair and some screen level hud items, the game looks spectacular in 3d.

I don't know about you, but I consider any game without a dynamic 3D crosshair as unacceptable and should only be allowed a "Fair" rating at best, especially very recent big-name ones (I don't adjust convergence so the crosshair works as that ruins any sort of realistic depth). All I'm saying is that Nvidia really needs to be doing a better job making big games S3D Ready if they ever want this product to get past the niche, rather than just doing it when they want the publicity as it is now. At this point, dynamic 3D crosshairs should be the VERY least standard to follow. The Nvidia-provided crosshairs are horrible imho, and I think of them more of a crutch to (halfassedly) fix an otherwise broken 3D experience rather than the first option I'd go to, especially in games that don't let you disable the game's crosshair (most of them). I realize in-game dynamic crosshairs fall into the developers' hands, but Nvidia shouldn't be touting that they work exclusively with devs, as if that's how they do it for every big game. No in-game 3D crosshair is the easiest way to tell when Nvidia couldn't get in bed with the dev or if the dev just doesn't care about 3D to begin with.
I'm sorry if the beginning sounded hostile, but I get pretty heated when Nvidia shows me yet again that my $600 investment has been put on their backburner on the lowest heat. I just consider the 3D crosshair THE most important aspect as when you get down to it that is the most important thing that matters to actually play the games. And seeing Nvidia slack on one of the most basic vital features - forcing me to use their crutch of a crosshair - irks me quite a bit.

I'm buying this game tomorrow when it's released in Steam.
So, I have just installed the 1.15 drivers, so it means I should have kept the 1.13 drivers to have better performance in COD MW2???
So, its best to use the standard crosshair or the Nvidia crosshair (CTRL + F12) in order to play this game without lags???
I heard the Nvidia crosshair rocks in this game cause it was made in 3D and it's not flat like in other games but it causes lags every 10-20 minutes... That sucks, hope they fix that on the next drivers.
I would roll back to drivers 1.13 but I heard 1.15 will do a better job in Left 4 Dead 2 than the 1.13 drivers, so that's the reason I'm keeping the new drivers.

I blame the dev for not being able to disable the crosshair. I blame nV for not having decent performance with the 3d laser sight. I blame you for complaining here but not driving to the executives homes and not egging their houses.
That said, it looks great and it isn't that hard to ignore the crosshair. I played through FEAR2 like that and it was one of the funnest times I've had in 3d stereo.

crap!!!! I'm buying the game from Steam, but I don't think I can rename the .exe in this case, only If I downloaded the game from the internet
I hope that maybe things will be different with Steam and I can play the game without sttutering with crosshair enabled.
Yep, I renamed iw3sp.exe to call.exe and now I can enable nvidia crosshair without shuttering. :) Its not as pretty as the one with the profile but it works and like pahncrd said, the game looks spetacular in S3D.

Nvidia offers its twimtbp and a long with that the tools to make games 3d vision ready , if activision cared about that they would of done it , its not like they didnt have the money to do so, and unless a game is made for nvidias 3d there is only so much you can do in driver emulation
compare the driver emulated games to the 3d vision made games , they are incomparable.
i would like to know who messed up more with the game nvidia or activision , honestly my bets on activision.

How does that work exactly?
And why iw3sp.exe?
Just interested! Thanks mate.

I hope that maybe things will be different with Steam and I can play the game without sttutering with crosshair enabled.
