Quadro, Sony HMZ-T1 and Linux Yes, crossposted, but I must know
Hay,
Here's what i'm looking for:
- a card that can handle openGL quad buffered stereo (i'm guessing this would be one of your Quadro models)
- a card that can output frame packed stereo 3d through an HDMI 1.4a connection to my Sony HMZ-T1
- drivers for this card that work under Linux (i'm using Ubuntu 11.10, but any Linux will do)
How bout it guys, how demanding is this?
Is anyone already doing this and having success?
Any nVidia company lurkers have any sage advice for me?
Not sure how important it is for you to be using Linux at all times, but the price of Quadro cards is insane, so I'd highly recommend just dual-booting Windows if at all possible whenever you need these things. A decent Quadro card will cost you nearly $2000, and those aren't even nearly as good as the GTX nVidia cards.

I need the exact same thing as DharmaSoldat. Linux + NVidia (quadro or geforce) + HMZ-T1 with Frame Packing stereo (HDMI 1.4a). It seem impossible to active a true HDMI 1.4a Frame Packed Stereo on linux with any card in the world...

In what respect are aren't they nearly as good as the GTX cards? In that they're not meant for end-user daily-computing use and gaming? Yeah... that's not what they're for.
