3D Setup Wizard Problem
Hi folks, I have a Geforce 660TI with an AOC 2757 passive 3D monitor. If I start the stereoscopic setup wizard, i get the first screen. When I click "next" now, I get some totally messed up picture with black and green, like the frequency or timing is wrong. Does anyone know whats going on there? Thanks!! Mario

hey Mario, i believe the problem is likely due to the fact you're using a passive monitor. Nvidia 3D Vision requires a 120 hz screen, active monitor. Im guessing your screen is only 60hz, and so you only get a garbled screen. I think you can use nvidia 3D play, but have no knowledge about that, sorry! either that or: a) sell the screen and get a supported active screen b) try out tridef, there is a thread about it on the forum, but doesnt seem great with medium hardware. Sorry i cant help more then that, 3D is worth the effort, i assue you, but Nvidia just dont like passive screens...

i just checked out 660ti benchmarks, more of a low high spec card then medium, but still it sounds like tri def needs every bit of oomph you can thow at it to get smooth fps, and you cant sli with tri def, boo!

Nvidia does not officially support the AOC passive monitor. It only supports the two that are made by Acer via Optomized for GeForce. http://www.nvidia.com/object/optimized-for-geforce-3d-passive-3D-monitors.html

hi all, thx for reply, i only need 3DVision for 3D Bluray Playback over HDMI 1.4, in 3D Games I use Tridef and it works just great! Yesterday I found a solution to get passive working without 3DPlay: - Set the registry keys for activate 3D stereoscopic without go through the setup wizard - Look for the 3D resolutions and correct them if necessary - voilla! You have the 3D resolutions with 720p 60 Hz or 1080p 23Hz/24Hz working with not-Nvidia-supported Displays! Greetings!! Mario

Hi! I think there's a bug in stereoscopic setup wizard since some versions, due to ... -) when I start the wizard it says me to install the hdmi 1.4 television, not the 3d vision panel, as this only activates the quad buffer support for bluray 3d supported applications. i'm not able to play 3d games anyway!! this feature is driven by the 3dplay application from nvidia. hope you understand?? -) on my htpc i have a lg 3d tv set running on a weak nvidia 4xx card. there i'm running older drivers (sorry, don't know the versions) and the setup wizard runs like a charm there, so that powerdvd 3d can fire up. greetings!!
