Bought a Benq MX710 projector
Got this thing cheap, it only had like 500 hours on it. Things I like 3D looks great, no ghosting Picture quality is excellent Color range is very nice, I can change the background color to compensate since the wall I project on is brown It has x2 VGA and 1 HDMI You can control it from your computer over usb or ethernet Things I don't like It seems to be limited to 1280x720 @ 120hz for 3D, I was unable to get 3D to flicker at other resolutions You have to manually enable 3D every time the resolution changes as it loses sync with the HDMI VGA has better color, my preferred connection, but its much darker than HDMI It has wireless but it needs a special dongle to make it work I hooked my Edimensional dongle up to it on the VGA and I was able to get the ED glasses to work with it in 3D. I tried to use these to get 3D out of the projector with 1920x1080@60hz but it didn't work even though the ED glasses were flickering. I think it may be that the sync dongle can't go to that high of a resolution, the highest I've ever got was 1600x1200. Does anyone know if I can force this projector into other 3D modes? I tried the 3D tv play thing but I wasn't sure what it was supposed to do. I have the full 3D vision kit with the pyramid. So far I'm impressed with this projector and its proving to be a good replacement for my mitsubishi diamond pro monitor.

Ok I was able to get this projector to do 1920x1080@60hz with a combination of a VGA cable, the ED dongle and by removing all EDID hacks. It is listed in the device manager as a generic plug and play monitor. I can add any resolution and refresh rate I want but what's strange is that this projector seems to be only able to do 60hz and 120hz. Everything else won't sync, and what's weird is that when the ED dongle is activated the 3D will activate automatically with 60hz. But 120hz seems to be locked and I can only activate sync by enabling 3D with the projector controls.

I rly dont understand what you are trying to tell us, if you want it work at 1080p/120Hz/3D Vision - you are doomed, we are all in the same boat and have been waiting for such a devise for years

You are trying to do downsampling resolutions if i understand you correctly? Projector is native 1024x768 so trying to run "native 1080p" is not a good idea. Instead put projector to 720p120hz where 3d vision works. Then go to nvidia control panel -> change resolution -> create custom resolution and put 1920x1080p in there. You shouldnt have to change anything else if you desktop was set to 720p120hz while doing that. Now you have usable 1080p downsampling 3d resolution in-game. If you are using 3dtv play, this wont work.
