Acer H5360 projector For those who have one
Has anyone had any stuck/dead pixel type sympton with them? ive got a couple developed on mine now and a new one is coming through that only starts if there is some colour behind it, its near the top so widescreen films dont affect it, the others ive got used to now but this new one is super bright and incredibly annoying.

I tried running the RGB flashing screen videos but to no avail (i know these are for LCD monitors but couldnt hurt to try, lol) has anyone got any ideas on what i can do about it? would buying a new bulb simply fix it? its only had 550 hours out of it so far. Apparently it could be the DLP chip needs replacing which isnt cheap /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' /> if thats the case its a bit of a disgrace considering how much ive used it (typically just out of warranty).

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Yes. Dead pixel dead center after maybe a year. I sold it on ebay got 200 which I put towards a diferent model, its never worth fixing projectors that are less then a $1000.

Mine unfortunately has a stuck white pixel. It's one of the miniscule mirrors on the dlp chip, nothing one could do except replace the chip, but that's not worth it...

Hmm... it's been awhile... but if I remember correctly, it was on the Acer 5360 thread at AVS forumns. There was a link to an article by Gizmodo or someplace. It stated that TI was offering to extend the DLP chip warranty. Might be worth looking into.
