Ethics of ShaderHackers having to buy games... A Simple Discussion
Hahaha:) Even better! Awesome! I really didn't knew about it;)
I'll definitely check it up;) The memories with that game man.... ^_^
Hey, but it's Dolphin. Shaders that depend on settings, build... and probably different between drivers and people's PCs. I had posted it here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/949042/3d-vision/dolphin-5-0-is-out-and-its-gobsmacking-in-3d-/3/
Made for a specific Dolphin build (that I also reuploaded). It relies on a lot of "ShaderOverride"s and needs Nvidia profile tweaks.
I tend to donate games to shaderhackers via steam if I see it's a game without a fix that is on their wishlist. Not that I expect a fix, I don't but it's my way of saying thank you for all the hard work that goes into making gaming a much better experience for all of us.

I'd love to donate a game. Helifax, are you interested in any current or upcoming games? I l love the work you've been doing recently, especially with Battlefield 1, which is now one of my favorite 3D vision experiences. Looks like Pirate has some nice deals on games, I'd just paypal him the money for whatever game your interested in, and of course there is no expectation of you working on or even attemptempting a 3D vision fix but it's always great when it happens.
That being said, Dishonored 2 would IMHO be a freaking amazing 3D vision game. I still vividly remeber playing the original and it's definetely one of my favorite new IP's. I just loved the Half Life 2 vibe and couldn't get enough of the open structured mission layout and amazing atmosphere that it created.
That's a game I'd even play in plane old 2d, evnen though I'd have to settle on 4K on my OLED TV :)
@ishiki & Pirateguybrush: By all means, if you two were to coordinate obtaining a copy of either or both of those games (I'm personally interested in Hitman) for the shared account, I'd be willing to take a look. I'm also not opposed to being provided the copy(s) directly, but I generally prefer that if I'm reasonably certain I can actually fix the game first. Again, I don't like to directly ask for stuff like this, but I'm quite happy to speak up when someone expresses their own interest.
Also, in general, I'm very welcoming of people contacting me to make fix requests. I might not be willing/able to do them all (I'll probably turn down most DX9 game requests because I absolutely hate working with Helixmod now), but if someone is waiting on something and no indication anyone is working on it, then by all means feel free to discuss with me on the possibility.
Hey, I will gift
you (DJ-RK)
helifax
masterotaku
DarkStarSword
and a few others (sorry!) at somepoint, (A game a month maybe is what I can afford to give away, and I know who I'm giving the gift this month too).
I know if I was a shaderhacker I'd prefer to own the game myself (no offense pirateguy the shared acct is a great idea!). And when I give games I don't expect a fix. The reason why I'm giving the gift is a small way to say thanks, and it would be a gift to a person I've used their fixes before.
A new fix is definitely a bonus :P. But, I won't be pestering the person I give the game to, and I'd encourage anyone giving games to not pester too much.
But, I don't want to give a game that no one wants to fix/play as that's just a waste of money. I want to get into shaderhacking. But, I've barely had time to play games with my work. So until then I can lightly contribute in another way.

For sure. Bob, Darkstarsword, Helifax, DJ-RK, 4everawake or anyone else who I've forgotten, requests a game I'll send you the funds through paypal.
thanks
I'm going to quickly share my perspective.
I'm not a shaderhacker and is mainly responsible for the assembler part of 3DMigoto.
I buy my own games but right now I'm not buying any games at all.
My economy crashed this year and I'm trying my best to recover.
I have rarely used 3DVision this year.
Regarding russian games I already have an account to add more games to.
I let DarkStarSword borrow my MGS TPP and was amazed how fast he was fixing it.
If I want to play a game I'll buy it.
Good to know that we have some donators to shaderfixers.
What I really want is shader dumps to solve any problem with the assembler.
An assembler bug can hide inside a shader we don't pick to fix.
Another game comes along and suddenly the assembler breaks as we are actively fixing a shader in ASM mode. Otherwise to make sure it always works I need to buy and dump shaders myself for all dx11 titles which I can't afford.
So far it has been good as I'm not aware of any bugs. This is good as in the beginning every new game introduced a new instruction. To cover everything I could gather last time I did major changes I dumped 100+ dx11 games and those were not cheap. 3D Vision is an expensive hobby especially when I was working without documentation and needed help from lots of games.
This year has been tough as I have struggled a lot so far. I'm finally heading in the right direction. I'm saving as much as possible. This eliminates my ability to buy games.
Considering this I sold two knifes for CS:GO then realized the money was locked into my steam wallet and I bought a knife again to reduce my steam wallet.
I'm very against piracy even though some purchases don't benefit the developer.
When I buy a boxed copy of Ignition (1997) it is just a transaction between buyer and seller.
Having gathered 8 game consoles with varying amount of games only 360/PS3 has had first hand sales from publisher. both consoles are second hand.
I remember getting clean deleting pirated:
games, roms, music, movies, manga/anime etc.
steamcommunity.com/id/Flugan
My biggest problem comes from streaming sites.
Here in Sweden it is legal to stream a movie but illegal to download/upload it.
The sites streaming illegal content are illegal but using them is perfectly legal but morally wrong.

What more can you ask for?
I just wish! The devs would do something like this FREELY (just gift us a copy to an account - so we can look it up). After all, it helps their sales (probably by a 0.01% margin ^_^ ) but still;)
It is worth noting that I have had some limited success engaging developers:
After I posted about fixing Lichdom Battlemage on Twitter I noticed one of the people from Cryengine (who is in charge of marketing and community) started following me, so when DHR was stuck on Crysis 3 I engaged him and he sent me a free copy of Crysis 3 to help out.
Another developer that started following me out of the blue on twitter was the Oddworld devs who had found my fix for New 'n' Tasty - when their next game is getting close to release I intend to engage them and see if I can get early access to it to get a fix ready ahead of time.
The devs over at KING Art noticed some of my posts on the BoUT2 forum (unrelated to 3D Vision) and invited me to beta test the final chapter before it was released, which gave me the opportunity to get the fix for that ready ahead of time.
I also got a copy of Submerged from Uppercut Games to play with a UE4 plugin (I know the devs personally and they were willing to put up test branches using the plugin on Steam... I really need to get back to that game, even if the plugin has turned out to be largely unecessary).
I'm also in touch with the devs at IonFX from the modding work I did on Miasmata - Bob Johnson* even mentioned he was going to try out my 3D fix for their game on his projector ;-) They have indicated that they want me to help out get their next game 3D Vision ready when it is a little closer to release (Bob was excited about the prospect of having their individually animated leaves in 3D ;-)
Point is - it (usually**) can't hurt to let the devs know about our work - in many cases they won't respond, but sometimes they do, and that might help us in the future.
* Not to be confused with Bo3b Johnson ;-)
** Except for the developer of The Witness - his reaction to my fix and some other bullshit he did just left a bitter taste in my mouth.
