I've finally got my setup to stop flickering. Flickering happens now only when I put my glasses as close to my eyes as possible. What i did was use one of the nose fittings that came with the glasses and wear the glasses towards the tip of my nose so that they are not too close too my eyes.

I think everyones vision is a little different so this might not work for everyone, but it really worked for me and I hope it will help everyone else with this problem. I'm glad I don't have to return my projector and the nvidia 3d vision kit :D
So you glasses work better if you have them on the end of your nose rather ?? Now I have heard everything :P

Exactly... I was having serious flickering problems with Avatar and now It is fine with no flickering. Funny thing is if I put the glasses closest to my eyes it will flicker again. I hope this really helps people with this problem and I'm lucky I have 120" projector setup... I can't imagine anyone with a 22" 3d monitor wearing there glasses to the tip of their nose.

I played guild wars without any flickering for hours. Same hardware, same room, same windows 7 x64. Tried different drivers now and it flickers hard.
I think its some windows update made us not happy.
Have anyone tried clean windows 7 x64 install (without updates) and 3d vision 1.20 driver or latest? Is it flickering?

Here are usb logs created in Simple USB logger by Incentives Pro.
"a lot of flickering" created on a 3d movie that caused very intensive flickering.
"nvidia configuration" - 3d used in 3d setup where were no flickering
"recommended" 3d settings set to "recommended" and then tested on transformers game (caused not very intensive flickering)
"transformers" some flickering occured (as remember was done in extra IR settings).

I have tried to uninstall windows updates related to security and "windows update" for some latest months. This does not help.
Tried to remove utorrent, skype and other tray software from task list. This caused flickering to be not so intence in recommended mode (or maybe it was just coinsidence).

Hi guys,

I've been having a lot of trouble with my 3D vision kit recently too.

I've found the solution - Windows Live Messenger. Kill it. Kill it now and your games will work. It's the adverts at the bottom I think.

I've got 2 GTX285s in SLI and I was getting flickering and display driver crashes in all my games.

I was trying everything... new drivers, different usb ports, nothing helped. Eventually I started in safe mode, removed the drivers and reinstalled them. Then I was able to play in SLI in 3d with no problems at all. Then, when I came out of the game I started Live messenger to tell my brother about how awesome Just Cause was, the display driver crashed immediately. The flickering hasn't returned though.

I have a feeling it's something to do with Silverlight, and the fact that Silverlight can play 3D videos. However I've never installed Silverlight. Is it integrated into Windows Live Messenger somehow? The advert at the bottom is flash.

Hope this helps...

Having said that... I've just got a random pop-up saying 'Do you want to keep Microsoft Silverlight up to date?'. Hmm.

Uninstalled silverlight completely. This does not help. I wonder - may 3G interfere with 3d vision emitter?

Nope, just disabled mine, no joy.

Would help if Nvidia would just provide us with an update to say if it's our hardware or not.
I believe people have used USB sniffers and they have determined that somehow the signal is being garbled. When I disable one of my GPUs on my 295 the flickering stops completely, but I lose too much performance :(

It's not only SLI related, because i have one GPU 280. And i have flickering in all games. Even in those I had not before at all. I will try to install clean windows 7 x64 on external hard drive (without updates), old 3d vision drivers and test on game i had not flicker before.

I have also bought the Acer H5360 projector, the 3d vision kit, and an extra pair of glasses and am getting flicker on a single GPU (EVGA geforce gtx 470). Right now, I'm too busy with work and I don't have the commendable patience that many of you have already shown to trouble shoot this. It seems like a multitude of problems can cause the flicker as different people have found different solutions.

I will try to wipe my drivers and reinstall, I will uninstall EVGA Precision, I will try to get it on a unique IRQ channel, but none of that works, I'm returning this system and the projector until Nvidia can get it's stuff together (or another company can.) This system has been out since '97 from a review I saw. Maybe a USB 3.0 system is what's needed.

Additionally, I bought all of this excited to play Starcraft II on it. The game is near unusable in 3d, the cursor doesn't work right, the portraits in the display are headache inducing, in the in game cut scene shadows are in one eye only, etc. If Blizzard isn't supporting this tech outside of WOW, then I don't have a lot of hope for Diablo III.

Either way, as is, it costs too much to have it not work easily. This isn't how you sell emerging tech. It needs to be bullet proof, plain and simple. I guess I'm not 'bleeding edge' enough for this yet. I just feel bad for Acer for having all these projectors returned.

Hello all,

I'm just chiming in with my experience with this issue.

System:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
AMD Athlon II X4 635 Processor
EVGA 9800 GT 512MB
Antec 650W Power Supply

The flickering issue comes and goes. I worked on it for a while with tech support, but they were ultimately not able to reproduce the issue and ended up blaming the problem on my USB ports. I tried rolling back to the 1.20 CD drivers, and that seemed to help for a while, but then the problem came back.
Now I've tried the suggestion of making sure that the IR emitter is alone on its USB hub and connected directly to the motherboard. That seems to have fixed it! I'm not 100% sure, but I think it might have been set up on my front USB port, alone, when it started working before.
Another person commented that he gets flicker when he moves the mouse -- that would make sense if the mouse was on the same hub.

My flickering problem has happened with still pictures, movies, and games, but seemed to be a touch worse in games. Again, that would make sense if actively using the inputs caused the problem. It doesn't make any sense at all for the flickering to happen outside of games -- playing back movies should not tax a modern system.

EDIT: There's nothing quite like the scientific method. I moved my USB mouse to the hub with the emitter and watched a trailer that was clean when the emitter was alone. Result: About 1 flicker every ten seconds. Then I disconnected the mouse and moved it to another hub. Result: The flickering continued. Then I stopped the video playback (leaving 3D mode), and restarted it. Result: No flickering! I'm now a lot more confident that this is the right work-around.

EDIT, to toddmelliott: I also bought this for StarCraft II. Blizzard has announced that they will be adding support, and the latest beta drivers from nVidia have partial support that is pretty significant. I'm going to hang in there and have some faith that it will all work out. Cheers.

EDIT2: Figuring that I'd narrowed the problem down to the USB issue, I tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling the 1.34 beta, with SC II support. That brought the flickering back. 1.33 also flickered. 1.20 does not, as discussed above. Grrrr. I expect that the developers are developing to the USB spec, but doing things that are, in practice, unsupported. I sympathize, but unless nVidia wants to limit itself to particular motherboards, it needs to find a solution that is more universal.
