Also 3D DLP Display normally refers to DLP TVs and outputs checkerboard. Is there a frame Sequential option?

Your right only my Quadro has these options, tested it on my desktop with 460 gtx installed. There is no stereo mode area that allows me to change the display mode. For my Quadro FX 880m, when I change display mode to "3D dlp display" it actually runs sequential for the 3D player and games when in full screen mode.

Nvidia dropped support for people using Windows Vista for 3D Vision or 3DTV Play on their consumer GTX cards starting with driver 314. So maybe they did the same on the Quadro side? Are you using Vista? This thread should interest you https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/541352/3d-vision/3d-movie-player-/

Windows 8 64bit pro on my Laptop and 7 on a desktop. Read the other forum thread thanks for the link D-Man11. I haven't really used the stereoscopic mode much. I just tested stereo features out a couple times, since my projector was 3D ready and wanted to see how stereo looked in games. Capt Proton yes your right its not exactly the right way to enable 3D. Its a weird anomaly that allowed me to enable 3D vision using DLP-Link glasses in games, without using a 3D vision kit. It worked well for me back then. Someone else from another forum posted the same method a year ago, when I was trying to figure out how to enable 3D on my projector. I was lead to this thread because I noticed that the stereoscopic option on my nvidia control panel was gone. I just had to try to figure this out as I know it was working some time ago. And that was the only way I could get it to work for myself. Last night I found that with my laptop with the quadro fx mobile. I can enable stereoscopic 3D from the windows control panel -> Screen Resolution page. "Enable Stereoscopic 3D settings for all supported displays." I did not notice this before. This worked for the 3D vision player, and stereoscopic player. I tried a game but no luck on stereo there. Just a side note, I used the method above because I didn't get good performance from the quad buffer stereo mode. Video was choppy and unwatchable. But with 3D vision turned on, the 3D video was smooth and I could enable stereo in games.

Hi all, Excuse me for reviving old post. I recently got a vivitek qumi q5 like the OP. I really want to try out the 3D stereoscopic. I read about 3D vison and 3DTV and HD3D, TriDef, iz2d. I also ordering a DLP glasses. I have a 6600GT and a AMD Radeon HD 4850 video card. Some posts says it is possible to watch 120 frame sequencial 3D. I know this projector doesn't have HDMI 1.4 So it is be great if someone can point me to where I can learn how to setup the 3D. All i hope for is try watching a 3D SBS movie and try out a game with TriDef. THANKS IN ADVANCE!! GOOD LUCK TO ALL!! bchiu

Like the OP i am not sure if I want to buy the IR emitter and the 3D vision glasses. But I am willing to buy a new video card. I know about the quad buffering thingy. But some say that is not the best way to display 3d. There's another way making it work without a quad buffer video card?

3D support for the 6600GT was dropped a long time ago, if it ever had any. If it had any support, it required using very old drivers(prior to 182 or so) When 3D Vision was launched in 2009, it required a GTX 8xxx series or newer GPU. Only very old games would run very well on that old of a GPU. http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_3D_vision_CD_1.05_beta.html You can see for yourself in the Beta released driver under Products Supported
