Download the newest beta drivers CD 1.44 switch google earth to direct x mode and yer set. However, I've noticed that convergence is locked and 3d really doesn't add much to the experience. /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I can't get Google Earth in 3D, and I would appreciate if someone can help me... I have a new ASUS G73JW 3D laptop with GeForce GTX 460M and 3D Vision. other applications run beautifully in 3D but GE remains 2D in both DirectX and OpenGL modes. do I need to change any other settings? or perhaps GE 3D works only on desktop GeForce? any ideas?
I also have Quadro card on my desktop PC, and GE runs in 3D without problem. but I also need to be able to give 3D presentations to my clients on my laptop. hope you can help, thnx...

OK, just a quick update -- a new driver version 270.61 is released, and after installing it on my laptop mentioned above, GE is FINALLY working in stereo 3D.
thanks, Nvidia,,, hope in the future you will treat everybody the same, and not let some users wait for months.

Hi
If you read the forum postings as well as the driver release notes for previous driver releases, you would have seen that we never claimed Window mode support for Google Earth on notebooks. In fact, I did have a forum thread here on R265 drivers and specifically said there is no Google Earth support on notebooks, thats only in R270 divers.
Also, please use our knowledge base. We publish great information there. We had one on this exact topic http://nvidia.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/nvidia.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2311. Here's the KB article text:

Yes, starting with Release 265 drivers for Desktop GPUs and Release 270 drivers for notebook users, 3D Vision does support running games in window mode.
Currently 3D Vision window mode only works with DirectX 9 games and applications and does not support NVIDIA SLI.
For more information on controlling when to enable 3D Vision window mode, please view this KB article http://nvidia.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/nvidia.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2955
