Help screen going black at 1080 @24 htz
So I reinstalled civilization v and set resolution at 1080 @24 htz and the screen goes black. Tried setting the resolution through nvidia control but it goes black there. No problems running games in 720p and it used to work so Im stumped as to what to do next. Online chat is useless due to support people reading off of a script and not knowing what they are talking about. Any ideas?

When I use 1080P@24, I find I have to go into the Nvidia control panel to the "Change resolution" tab, then select the "1080P, 1920 x 1080" under the "HD 3D" header. I've only used it a few times and both games where I did, there was no adjustment for the refresh rate in the Display Options of the game menu. Then after I was done gaming I had to go back and change the settings in the Nvidia control panel.

You might look in your display manual and see if it even supports that refresh rate. Also if you continue to have problems, you may want to add some additional information to your post. Things like listing your display model as well as your PC system specs are really helpful in getting help. just saying............

Just to clear things up, are you talking about 3d at all, because if you're not I am having the same issue as you in plain 2d. I have MPC set up to switch to 24hz whenever 23,976fps content is played in full screen. The screen goes black for a couple of minutes when switching from 1080p@60 to 1080p@24 , I usually switch to normal tv for 2-3 minutes and when I come back voila the screen isn't black. It's a driver issue, I didn't have the problem when I was running an AMD gpu. However, if you are referring to playing in s-3d at 24hz 1080p resolution, I've never experienced a black screen in 3d mode.
