Hi everyone. An update and 2 more questions if you don't mind. The TV model changed to a LG 55UG870V and I no longer use the sound card in my PC, I go straight from the optical port on the TV to the 5.1 speakers. First question: As the TV model has changed and I no longer use audio via HDMI is the Acer HR274H 3D Monitor EDID Override still the right one if not can you suggest one that would work? Second: Where does the TV store the EDID on the PC, the one I need to replace? Thank you.

Suggest overriding your PC's Device Manager's Monitor driver (provided/updated by your NVIDIA display driver) with this EDID mod - https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/818183/3d-vision/gtx-970-4k-3d-vision-gaming-success-with-lgub850v-passive-tv-/post/4510149/#4510149. I also suggest using 3DVisionEye Swapper app (links for this app also found later in this same topic thread).

Only some Blue-rays I run optical out from my motherboard.

I must be missing something, if he's not using the sound card or HDMI, how is the audio output from the PC?

HDMI can carry audio, the TV has an Audio out. He's using the optical Audio out from the TV. I use my motherboard optical audio out, so that no matter which display I choose, I can still use my AVR.

Cheers, I thought that's what was happening. I just got confused when he said "I no longer use audio via HDMI". I have to run optical from a sound card to my 5.1 system as Windows recognizes my TV as stereo, even though it has an optical out. The TV is a few years old though.

Sorry I probably wasn't very clear. I have my PC connected to the TV via an HDMI 2.0 cable from the graphics card to the HDMI port 1 on the TV (Non ARC) I then have an optical cable from the optical port on the TV to the 5.1 speakers control console. I originally had the HDMI connected to port 2 that was ARC on the TV and had the optical cable going from my PC's sound card to the speakers control console. The problem with this was if I plugged my PS3 for instance into another HDMI port on the TV I had no sound as the speakers were connected to the PC. I would love to be able to use my Soundblaster Z soundcard instead of the TV's port but I haven't figured out how to get all connected HDMI devices to use my speakers. BTW I'm using Windows 10 if that makes any difference.

By the way, with my UB9500, I use HDMI 3 (10-bit, UHD deep color) input, enable Deep Color for this input, and label this input as "PC", using LG control panel. The EDID link above supports deep color. Like others, I use a dedicated sound card with optical connection to 5.1 surround amplifier. However, if 5.1 sound can be provided via HDMI (?), this would help ensure complete sync of video and audio data.

Thanks, just tried installing those inf files and both come up with: Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device. Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. Acer HR274H (ACR02B9 EDID Override) The third-party INF does not contain digital signiture information If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit it's website and check the support section for driver software.
