Yes I remember they have no effect in the BFG Edition. Only the console commands work but I really have no clue what I did to get 3D working. You could mess around with tabbing out of the game or changing some other in-game settings. You could also try some of the hidden nVidia 3D options with http://helixmod.blogspot.ro/2015/10/advanced-3d-vision-configuration.html

Congrats on the new 3D Vision monitor, you're going to love it. As a new user you should be aware that not very many games work well with 3D Vision out of the box. Fortunately, many talented individuals here have sacrificed time and made compatibility fixes. Some of these individuals do accept donations as well. http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/10/game-list-automatically-updated.html In the future, please post in existing game threads, it helps to keep information from getting scattered and harder to find. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/824274/ First off, why on earth would you be using an EDID override for your VG278H?????????????
VG278H (patched to VG236 with EDID override
For Doom 3 BFG, it is very important that you set your desktop resolution to the native setting and refresh rate to 120Hz prior to launching the game (1920x1080@120Hz). Once you launch the game, you must do the same, set the resolution and refresh to 1920x1080@120Hz, it also "has to be" using Fullscreen mode. Now select Quad Buffered Stero. Being that this is an "Open GL game", the Nvidia depth and convergence keys "will not work" Also, if you have been messing around with configs and ini files, it might be best to delete them, as well as any saves and then use Steams "verify integrity of game files" option, to replace them with the default ones. I can confirm that the Steam versions works with my VG278HE on W7 368.39 Also, when using a disc version of any game, it is very important to check for available patches/updates. Perhaps this is why your disc version was not working.

Tried the sep and conv commands...no effect. The only thing that is left now is the question of why the BFG edition with 3D off does not produce the 3D effect like the vanilla version does. And sub-questions are 1) maybe any change of the params in the wrapper ini file would help? and 2) maybe one needs to install some other shader/s to achieve this (info in the ini file but really too complex for me). Helifax could answer these easily so I'm hoping he (or she) will look at this at some point and bring the matter to a close (cannot be done or can, easily or requiring some coding, which may not be worth it). BTW using 3D for a while makes me rather nauseous so this could also be a resolution :-) Perhaps just because I have not used it before.

I suspect you have the VG278HV and not the VG278H since only the VG278HV needs a VG236 edid override. In any case, for the BFG Edition you should follow D-Man11's suggestions and post your results before trying anything else because it is supposed to work without any wrapper or fix and as you can see D-man11 confirmed that it works for him.

It's probably the wrong topic, but now that Kaimastah mentioned about VG278HV model, what's hapen if I change the PCB with VG278HE model? The HV will be recognized as HE or will be a failure, I ask because both external model are the same just like twins and probably the PCB size it's identical.

@D-Man11: Sorry it is a VG278HV, yes. They say it is not 3D but I read some french thread on how to trick WIn 7 in believing it is another model... I took the risk because my Samsung 3d (not working with nvidia) glossy was driving me nuts - and it worked :-) I do not know much about overrides etc - I just used the .inf file they posted there. I have tried all that you suggested re resolution, no joy. The vision dongle / glasses / monitor would not activate at all. Using the helifax wrapper, it all did activate but no 3D (if taking off glasses I cannot see double images for objects farther away) no matter what command I have in autoexec.cfg or console. Maybe Helifax's suggestion re EDID is the cause. But without the override I cannot get the 3D to work - or so I think. I do not know much about overrides etc, as mentioned I just used 'update driver and pointed win 7 64 to the .inf of the VG236. Then Visoon 2 recognised it. So if i revert, no 3D. Thanks for the suggestions!

@Helifax - many thanks for answering! Well BFG worked for you out of the box but with what version of Nvidia driver? If it was a while ago, it is possible they screwed up the support for the BFG edition in the newer versions - so that is why I was asking someone with a BFG version to test for me. Seems nobody bought it lol... Now it is around $4-$5 on Ebay for a Steam key. I had a non-steam version which also did not work BTW, and I thought it may have been the executable.. but no. For you, my main question now is: why do you think D3 BFG does not work with your wrapper, if I turn all 3D off in the 3D menu? The answer must be interesting - but I do not know if the wrapper is very specific to some code that might have changed in the BFG edition. The prob with removing EDID is, as I mentioned, that Nvidia will not recognise my monitor as 3D. I can try to select discover instead of the monitor without changing anything but probably this won't do much At this point I have the original Doom 3 working in 3D with your wrapper so that's nice. It is only that being curious by nature I was wondering why the wrapper would not work with the BFG with 3D off (I thought that would make BFG same as he original from the 3D point of view). And whether some parameters in the ini file or installing some shaders would do anything, using the wrapper with the BFG. THanks! :-) (I also tried the wrapper for l4d2 water reflection, sweet!)

Can you even set your desktop to 120Hz? You're not doing something stupid like trying this using the HDMI connection are you? Have you been able to properly pass Nvidia's 3D setup wizard???? Don't use his wrapper for the BFG Edition, just don't!!!!!!! edit: looking up the VG278HV, it is 144Hz capable. My guess is that you are indeed using the HDMI connection and did not read the owner's manual. 1920x1080@120Hz is only possible via the DVI output using a Dual Link DVI cable capable of at least 300MHz. edit#2 also try using the VG278H EDID so that the screen size is correct in the registry http://3dvision-blog.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2025 5th post

I did have a non Steam BFG edition before and I believe the Steam one inherited the settings from c:\users\..SavedGames\.blah but there was really nothing bad in there except skip intro and enable console. I will delete everything and check integrity with Steam, see what happens. But I had to be sure it is not the driver or the game first. No, enabling the console will have no adverse effects on 3D (in fact, the console can be your best fried in games using the idEngine). The biggest thing with using pure OpenGL for stereoscopic Quad Buffered rendering is, you must use Fullscreen, you must use 120Hz, and you must use your native resolution (both for the desktop and in-game settings) (you can use other resolutions via a custom desktop resolution, but it will be letterboxed) As far as the HDMI thing, we do get users that are actually using it. A few 3D Vision monitors actually support 3D via HDMI 1.4. Such as the VG278H (which has an "internal" emitter). However when using the HDMI connection, these monitors will access Nvidia's stereoscopic drivers via 3DTV Play. The VG27HE, which I have, requires an external emitter. Since you are using the Dual Link connection and passing the wizard without issue, the EDID is not a problem. Other than it's reporting the incorrect display size, the screen size affects the settings in regards to seating distance. It's possible that something is corrupted in the driver install, typically, we all use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to avoid and fix driver installation related issues. I can't confirm the driver you are on, I've no desire to update atm, but I can confirm that 368.39 is working for me. It is possible, if you still have both installations of the game on your drive, that some registry settings from the disc version are adversely affecting the Steam version.

Well I renamed the settings in SavedGames, Doom3 BFG created another folder there with default settings and I verified integrity of game files. I also removed the Helifax files. All to no avail. Fark. In quad buffer (with restart) I only see the left channel and when changing the depth the image simply shifts. I am of course using native resolution at 120Hz and refresh at 120 Hz (tried another res too and 60Hz and came back to the 120 settings to see if it kicks in, no go). Registry? I can search for registry keys, wasn't aware Doom 3 used the registry. Driver version is 382.33 (latest I think). The one I had before (with the Samsung) gave errors when I was trying to enable 3D. I ticked the 'clean install box' when installing the new version. I can use that driver cleaning thing and reinstall this version, I am running out of things to try in fact. If the driver is corrupted why would it only affect Doom 3 BFG? But hey anything is possible :-) I got the VG278HV because the others are no longer being sold AFAIK. They say 3D is dying, no demand, so they stopped selling the 3D models at least in AU, the 'v' advertises no 3D as I mentioned. It may be the monitor and driver combination, but since it is only affecting one game which uses a the freaky OpenGL, after I tried everything I guess I can just play the original Doom 3 again, in 3D. My only curiosity was why the Helifax wrapper would not work with the BFG in 3D off mode as the BFG woudl thus be same as the original. The card / monitor / glasses are all going in 3D, I get the compatibility message on screen lower right (excellent support), so all is great except no 3D. Hehe...well whatever. Everything else seems to work in 3D (well I only have L4D2 to try for now and the wrapped Doom 3) EDIT: I used the DDU and reinstalled the latest driver. No change. I'm pretty much done with messing with the driver. I also installed the bloody GEForce Experience (yuck). Nothing... must be the monitor override or something.
