Will play around a bit. and yeah pretty likely. SLI is becoming more and more of an issue I am probably going to ditch these cards and begrudgingly go for a single 2080 ti
Was not happening in the previous version though..
Edit: Yep it's not SLI in this case. Went back to previous version and it's not a problem in that build. Also messed around with graphics settings and it was still an issue no matter what I did.
(also disabled SLI just in case with a reboot, still same issue. =/)

Everything is working correctly on my end. Were you enabling and disabling 3D a bunch of times? Sometimes shadows cache can be wrong after that. Try disabling that setting.
I tried that area, but with Leon. 0 problems.
Other people, please report this problem here if you have it.

I bit the bullet and bought a 2080ti card today. *sigh*
So I'll remove my old cards, set this up tonight and report back =)
Edit:
Still exists running with a single 2080ti
Oddly enough it's only on the player character model, also occurs with leon regardless of location. Problem does not seem to occur on any other characters or environment but the player model.
I tried disabling Shader Cache, no change. Pretty much running max settings that are not forbidden.
If I roll back to the previous version, problem goes away... wierd.

No, not shader cache. Shadows cache, in the game options.
Also, it the problem persists I want you to hunt that shader.
When you say the previous version, do you mean the one that was in the blog with broken particles?
Sorry that was actually a typo. I must have been thinking about it at the time. I did mean Shadow Cache.
Not sure what build it is now but I think so. Seems to be dated 19/02/2019
For the record I completely reinstalled the latest driver with DDU and cleanly installed the latest fix.
Will see if I can find the problem shader
Edit: Always find identifying the right shader hard sometimes I guess that's one of the reasons I suck at this.
As far as I can guess it seems to be.
86a0f36dfe056930-vs or
18511464de3fd0b0-ps (this one directly references contact shadows regexes)
Character model loses problem shadows and lighting.

I have answered Necropants on Steam. It was a regex conflict in his case.
In 5 hours I'm going to update the fix in case someone else is affected. Same for DMC5 because they are basically the same regexes.

Hello,
For me it's ok. I tried 418.81 that I strongly advise against and then i tried with 417.35 : everything is fine.
With 418.81, I have a kind of tearing when i move the character.
Masterotaku, I will not get tired of watching all these particles that float in the air and that while 3d vision.
Thanks :)
[Edit] Necropants : do not forget to check the box "prevent to download the drivers with windows update" in DDU. I had a lot of trouble when I installed the drivers for this new graphics card.

Fix updated with what I said. It's just a tweak to the regexes to avoid conflicts between them (which I thought was impossible until Necropants said it :p).
If you have the 2019-03-27 version, just grab the new "d3dx.ini".
I had that shadow issue too so I was using the older version, and can confirm the new ini version fixed it for me. thanks for updating!
Can you check if you have "UseOptimizeShader=Disable" instead of "UseOptimizeShader=Enable"? Probably fdrom the old days when the fix needed it. That's how Necropants was getting different shaders, and maybe you too.
I have updated the fix today once again to catch another one of those shaders that affected Necropants. Just get the new "d3dx.ini" from it.

The fix is finished, until/if there's a future solution for stability so I can fix all particles.
I have fixed one SSR shader that wasn't 100% right, now specular reflections are realistic like in RE7, you can use render scale and interlacing (to a certain point in the lower range), etc.
Uninstall the old fix and use the new one.
Now it's time for DMC5.
Is this fix working still? Using the last 3d vision driver now. Interested in getting this game if it is working.
