Easy switch between checkerboard and 1080p 30hz Frame Packed on Samsung HDTV
I came across this by mistake but maybe it will work for others. Basically, if you follow the steps to install the 3d depth hack described here https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/519243/maximum-depth-hack-go-beyond-100-/ you can switch between 1080p checkerboard and 1080p Frame packed by activating or deactivating the hack. When I turn on the hack, which blocks access to a registry file, and use checkerboard in the 3d vision control panel it results in Frame packed 30hz 1080p. Turn off the hack and you are back to normal 1080p checkboard. If you follow the instructions for the hack, you can switch between the 2 modes with shortcut keys which is very convenient. My TV model is 55ES7500, I assume it will work on just about any Samsung that supports checkerboard or maybe it's just a fluke with my setup.

Thanks for sharing! Does it do any good if the TV doesn't support checkerboard? (UE40F6170) I'd love 1080p30Hz instead of 24p.

No problem guys, I've gotten a lot of help from this forum and am happy to give back when I can. Hopefully this works for you too. 1080p 30hz does seem to increase input lag vs checkerboard but it's nice to have the option. @Skullmonkey, did the evo kit enhance your tv's 3D performance at all in terms of picture quality or input lag? @tamas EDIT: Seems to work in both 3DTV play and checkerbaord modes. It's strange, if I push info on the TV it says 1080p 60hz while in 3D mode but the animation is clearly 30fps. Anyhow, good luck

Interesting, I didn't know you could lock a registry key from the command prompt, pretty sure I even googled it at one point. For years now, I've been plugging directly into my Mitsubishi 3D DLP to activate 3D Vision, and then plugging back into my Onkyo receiver and selecting Generic 3D DLP in the control panel, and gaming perfectly fine with 3D Vision AND most importantly in this case 5.1 audio, otherwise I'd just leave it plugged directly into the TV and then ... One of the last drivers, before the Fake3DBeta drivers, either broke the ability to do this or intentionally removed it ... either way I was forced to lock the registry key to keep both 3D Vision and 5.1 audio. After setting it up plugged directly into the DLP, locking it and then plugging back into my RCVR, Generic 3D DLP was missing but I was able to select CRT(which usually just flickers horribly) and then it was working 'as usual' as could be I guess, one of the side-effects was not being able to take 3D screenshots. ... and then in rolled the latest and greatest fake 3D beta drivers which also broke being able to do it that way, intentional or unintentional I'm not really sure ... but it really sucks having to jump through all these hoops, especially when you have an emitter and a sync cable connected to the TV at all times.[/rant] ... just end rant because I'm not quite sure where I started. ;)

@CeeJayII Thanks for the link to this, sounds interesting. I've tried the above link and I was unable to download the zip file. Do you have another link to get this zip file. I've downloaded the app no problem, but was unable to get the zip file. I also tried "save target as" but no go. I'd like try this out. Cheers!

@CeeJayII I'd say it did improve the picture quality, but not by alot and no change in the lag, the hub is a lot better and faster also the new control is a lot better. But i would wait if i was you, there's a new evo kit being released soon, not sure what it's going to do yet.
