failed to create texture for background_template install driver, after reboot when i turn on glasses
Have been having trouble with 3d vision, everything would work fine, then after a restart, vision would stop working, my screen would have a red tinge. the only solution was to reinstall drivers, which would fix problem unitil next restart. this was a endless loop and ive posted on this problem here; my post's are not regarding the discover problem also on posts below

http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=102668

but now im even having trouble installing the driver at all, getting two error windows on wizard crash

failed to create texture for background_template

&

display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered

this is happening after i install the driver, do the restart, the nvida setup wizard runs i choose my device and screen, then when prompted to turn on glassed i do this, cklick next then crash to the error

my rig is

intel I7
8gb ram
nvidia 295
vista home prem SP1

Im starting to doubt the vision hardware, ive done repeated uninstalls in safe mode, but always get either work till next restart or fail with this error.

Ive also done what i consider to be as good as a format, by using norton ghost to recover to a time before i even had the 3d vision. (complete image on entire bootdrive - always works a treat)

my dxdiag is attached if of any help

any help most appreciated

Have you tried either downloading the driver again or a different driver version altogether.

ive just removed everything again, and then install driver 1.07 from the cd, my 3d is working ! !

BUT not yet done a restart, to see if it stays working

What am im missing out on, if i stick to 1.07 rather than 1.09 profiles? , i7 support ?

after restart NOT WORKING

upon restart, i get message bubble saying "installing driver for unrecogized device", the light on transmitter does not light up

I then go to nivida control panel and it's set to "Anaglyph (red/blue glasses) which is wrong

If i then run setup wizard it starts to work again

so it can't be hardware, for some reason on restart my pc loses its 3d vision settings

any ideas?

I have the same problem since I installed the 190.38 drivers, but only in Vista, it works fine in Windows 7.

What I have found is disconnecting the receiver and reconnecting, then running setup it cures the problem.

Imho I think the 190.38 have created a voltage problem in the ir transmitter.

Don't know if that's it but that is how I get mine working

cheers, just to confirm - you disconnect - then reconnect - then run setup

rather than disconnecting, runnig setup and then connecting ?

When I start Vista I've just made it a habit now, I disconnect and reconnect.

Then run setup to make sure it's working before starting a game.

Doing it this way hasen't failed me yet...

It's just so agravating to start a game then have to shut it down again due to a red screen.

good luck

Sorry, Same symptom different problem.

I might add, When the problem first started I applied a contact enhanser to my transmitter.

I don't know if that helped? But I can control the problem with the procedure I mentioned before.

I hope you find your answer.

the best solution ive found so far is;

when i shut down the pc, i remove the usb cable

then when i turn on, i go to the nvida panel, run the setup and plug in when told to do so.

these works a few times, till eventually i have to remove all drivers and reinstall fresh

the fresh install, works with mixed results, sometimes I get errors while installing, other times i don't

After a ghost image recoverery (as good as a format), the same problem occurs
