Great game!! but sucks in 3D... the shadows and light problems are a big fault. The game has a LOT of light and shadows, impossible to play in 3D right now.

I hope nvidia's next driver add a profile to this game and fix this OR an update from Remedy OR both.

Well, I´ve bought a plasma 3D TV six months ago. Few games blowed my mind with great S3D - Batman (both), Just Cause 2, Fallout series, Skyrim (thanks moders community), The Witcher 2 (after patch, of course) and Trine 2. I tired of this issues and imcomplete compatibility with S3D (3Dvision, etc,etc...). Always the same: turn off dinamic lights, Reduce shadows quality, adjust deph, paralax, convergence, etc, etc...Even in PS3 the 3D is a mess. Never can adjust convergence and the performance is terrible (can u understand Shadow of Colossus with terrible fps, in S3D ?) In this case I preffer 2D at 60fps ! ?We have users with SLI having bad performance in many games using S3D.
Definitly, S3D isn´t a priority to developers. How we say here in Brazil: they are ****ing on our heads. I considering use the technology as excepction, only in games with perfect 3Dvision suport. It´s a shame we have to play games like Dead Space in 2D, because we see ghosts and double lights everywere.

I know what you mean, been playing in s-3d for about 10 years and there have always been problems after dx8 came along. This doesn't mean you should give up on the tech, it's the support that's lacking. Hopefully this will change with the mass integration on next-gen consoles. It was obvious that current-gen consoles were not made for s-3d, even the almighty ps3 couldn't do 1080p in 2d for most games, let alone 720p in s-3d. Yet there are games like uncharted 3, killzone3 and gow collection 2 which are worth experiencing in s-3d.

Well 3D Vision has definitely changed the way I buy games. I simply won't buy games at launch or at full price if they don't have at least good 3D Vision support (online or MMO being the possible exceptions). Its just not worth it to me because chances are, I won't play the game at all in 2D and if a fix or mod does come along, there's a good chance the price has dropped significantly. I just have far too many games already that play great in 3D that I haven't played through yet, so its not worth fretting over imo.

But anyways, Dead Space is amazing in 3D now thanks to HeliX mod! http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=222386&view=findpost&p=1365864

There's at least a few more games now I can enjoy much more in 3D because of that mod, like Alice and Prototype (still working on fix).

Two with 100% separation and two with 3 bars, just so that you can see that the s-3d isn't right even with this little amount of depth:

Hi All

We are aware of the 3D Vision issues with Alan Wake. To be honest, we dont have a rating for the game and did not message the title is being amazing in 3D.

Our next major driver release will rate the game Poor because of the issues in it.

We are hopeful the developer will address the issues in the game.

A) Did they tested it with 0 bars and said "try with 3.... maybe it works".
B) The one on Remedy what tested it was one-eyed.

They will fix this, if not Steam made deceptive advertising saying, and Remedy CEO interview is a LIE.

I have already submitted a ticket on Steam requesting a refund based on the fact that they used false advertising.

To be honest, and maybe I am just getting older, 3D Vision is the only thing keeping me interesting in gaming anymore. I would rather buy a game that is 3D Vision or has good 3D that might not be quite as good as another game that has poor 3D or none at all. For instance, Hard Reset is something that I bought because it had good 3D support. I would have never bought it if it didn't.

QFT also.

as a hobby in my case gamming has kind of hit the "wall".
I dont have much time these days so i have to choose the games i play.(Before money was the problem...)

So 3d has rekindled my love for gaming, and in my opinion proper 3d might bring a breathe of fresh air to the plethora of the same game year after year (ME3, Bioshock 3, GTA5, Diablo 3...pattern?)

Alan wake looked like new decent IP 5 years ago but reading the comments on this thread 3d gets kicked in the nuts again...
Guess its time to look for a new hobby...
