I'd be very interested in hearing if this is possible because as far as I know its not as the PS3 only supports HDMI in most games. However I think Avatar and a few other games support different output formats so may work.

Even if you manage to get a suitable output to Acer, how would you sort out the issue of having no shutter glasses hooked up?

Not possible now. There is no hardware to go inbetween the two. PS3 will not turn on 3D unless connected to a "3DTV," which is projector is not really. If someone made a frame-packed to frame-sequential converter, it would work. No control of shutter glasses though, as other poster mentioned.

Yeah, there was a trick to get Avatar and Invincible Tiger working in 3D (play a 3D video on a connected PC to obtain glasses sync, then change inputs on your projector to the PS3 channel). Unfortunately, as far as I know, this doesn't work with games using the new PS3 3D update. Seems like this will either need an update from Sony or a hardware solution.

You still have shutter glasses in the way of DLP glasses. They link with ANY DLP enabled telly or projector WITHOUT the need for a transmitter for syncing. I picked up a pair of Optoma DLP glasses and they work well on the H5360 for "regular" 3D.

I am still having problems with the PS3 seeing my projector even when set up in 3D DLP mode and my research suggests that a high speed HDMI cable may solve the problem.

So have you played motorstorm or any other PS3 game on the Acer? Also, what do you mean by regular 3D. I use my PC for everything (games, 3D blurary) but would really like to play with my PS3. thanks.

PS3 3D = HDMI1.4(a), which none of the current 3D Projectors support. So go waste your money on a cable and report back
