Duke Nukem Forever in 3D are you getting excited?
  3 / 4
Started playing today. I'm enjoying this game! I think the graphics are quite nice. The 3d is perfect, and most textures are sharp enough. It doesn't look like a PS2 game to me at all. It uses Unreal engine 2 which is old now, however it's a really updated U2 engine. Almost looks U3. I love the raunchy humor, and all the little jokes throughout the game.

@francomg: You never played DN3D? Are you that young, or just didn't play games back in the day? Oh, and Doom3 was awesome. /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
What you should do, is find a torrent for Duke nukem 1 and 2 and 3d, get DOSBOX (a bit of configuring) and play the originals. DN1 was one of the first
pc games I ever had. Ran it on my IBM 386 40mhz, gravis gamepad, dos 3.2... those were the days. /happy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Am I the only one getting a very disappointing 3D experience? I have the latest nvidia drivers that include the Duke Nukem Forever 3D vision profile, but all of the lights and glowing graphics look like they're floating a few feet away from the lighting source, and it makes the game painful to look at. I first noticed this in the Duke Cave at the beginning of the game, where the blue glowing nuclear symbol on the floor looks to be floating a few feet away from the surface. Also the lighting graphics of the scones on the wall look to be floating a few feet away from the lamps.

It gets a bit better if I drop the 3D slider to 15%, but most other games I play at 100% and they look fine?

yes, i know what you are talking about, i have the best 3d screen out there, and i too experience a lot of ghosting, my solution was rising the brightness in the game to 7 or 8, also to fix the slow downs, turn off posteffects

No, I'm actually 31 years old, I wasn't playing video games back when Duke 3D was out. I've played SNES and Mario World before that but then I quit playing games for a few years. Maybe that's why I didn't like this new version of DNF very much!!!!! I want to get the benefits of DX11 and new games engines, don't feel like moving backwards.

we're the same age. /tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I can see your point. I would love some new DX11 games that would take advantage of my killer hardware. btw... I still have my NES,SNES,N64,gamecube,wii,genesis,saturn,dreamcast,both gen xboxes, and my ps3 still hooked up. Had to start my sons on the classics, so they could see the evolution of the games and hardware, unlike a lot of kids today who know nothing of past gaming and dismiss it, or are not even aware that or how video games have evolved and changed over the decades. /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I have lots of fun with my boys that way.
And of course the kids pc is also a good gaming machine. Phenom quad core,GTX 285,(my previous gaming machine) that will run anything they want. /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

[/quote]

Th eonly issue I've had is a jumping cursor (happened twice in the entire game), and Duke doesn't always stand on the ground rather he levitates. Did you turn of post processing effetcs?

Also the lighting graphics of the scones on the wall look to be floating a few feet away from the lamps.

It gets a bit better if I drop the 3D slider to 15%, but most other games I play at 100% and they look fine?

Th eonly issue I've had is a jumping cursor (happened twice in the entire game), and Duke doesn't always stand on the ground rather he levitates. Did you turn of post processing effetcs?

Am I the only one getting a very disappointing 3D experience? I have the latest nvidia drivers that include the Duke Nukem Forever 3D vision profile, but all of the lights and glowing graphics look like they're floating a few feet away from the lighting source, and it makes the game painful to look at. I first noticed this in the Duke Cave at the beginning of the game, where the blue glowing nuclear symbol on the floor looks to be floating a few feet away from the surface. Also the lighting graphics of the scones on the wall look to be floating a few feet away from the lamps.
