Both of these games work fine for me when I set resolution to 720p @ 60Hz, but when I try to use 1080p @ 24Hz the TV automatically kicks into 1080p @ 60Hz and I get the red "unsupported resolution" message. All other games I've tried work as expected, TV pops into 1080p @ 24Hz whenever 3D vision is enabled and game resolution is set to 1080p. I have tried setting the desktop resolution to 1080p @ 24Hz before entering the game with no effect.
Anyone have any suggestions? 720P is fine I guess, but low frame rate (24Hz) bothers me less than jaggy image quality.
Card is a gtx 780, monitor is a 51" Samsung 5500 plasma.

Are you having the same problem in other games? Have you set a specific 3D resolution in the NVidia control panel, and have you set the resolution and refresh rate to match in the in-game menu?

Nope, batman AC and dishonored both work as they should. I have manually setting the resolution in nvidia's control panel, but as soon as the game goes full screen the tv switches back to 1080p @ 60Hz. Both games have been set to 1080p, I don't see any 3d specific resolutions/setting in the game menus.
RefreshLock might do the trick.

Thanks, will have a look at that this afternoon.
The low frame rate bothers me less than the shoddy visuals.
I tried refresh lock, it doesn't play nice with my set-up, screen colors went screwy and then windows crashed.
I did get trine running in 1080p by setting the desktop to 1080p @ 24Hz and then running the game windowed @ 1080p... I don't think it's quite as crisp as full-screen but it's a lot better than 720p.
This is honestly the most beautiful game I've ever played... picked it and trine 2 up for <$4, gotta love steam. Trine is blowing my mind, I can't imagine what they could have improved in trine 2 but I'm looking forward to finding out.
Not sure if this will work with MLL, I unistalled it to make space. Will post back when I re-install in case anyone else is looking for a solution.

Thanks, I'm using Helix for Dishonored another amazing experience in 3D. Haven't done much 3D gaming yet though, a playthrough of Dishonored, 25% of Arkham City, I'm on the last level of Trine, and the first 15 minutes of Metro... it's sure sucked me into gaming again though. I've done more gaming in the last month than I had in the previous year.

Some games require the settings be forced in a config file/ini somewhere, not sure on these two.
You might be able to try one of Chiri's older utilities(or 3DMigoto)

There's some info here about playing in 24Hz:

Finally, here's an older version of RefreshLock might be work a shot.

That first link doesn't seem to work but I'm not familiar with software editing anyway, I took a little c++ in school but creating little text programs that spit out questions/answers is about as far as I got.
My experience is pretty much opposite to what the author of that blog found, if I try gaming with vsync disabled it makes me queasy in about 2 seconds. Screen tearing seems to be a major killer in stereo 3D, at least for me.

D3Dx.rar
I've never really tried gaming at 24Hz ... then again I'm using one of the last 3D DLP TVs that supported 3D Vision, so I'm getting 1080p at 60Hz so there's really no need. :)
If it works that utility's really easy to use ... you just have to edit the included ini, like so.

OK, I can handle that... do I plant the folder somewhere in the program files once that's done then, or is this some kind of peripheral program?

Should check out my channel if your looking for ideas. I record at projector settings so monitor users hate my channel lol [looks low depth]. But since your on a big display you might want to check it out.
