Locking topics that mention competitors? Better hurry and lock all those ones talking about Xpand glasses and such. How about a mention of where you all have been? When we might see a driver update to fix some of the issues that people are having? Oh no, can't have people talking about a possible better alternative.

I am in the process of getting a ATi card, and looking forward to it actually. I'm sure they won't lock this thread cos I said that. They usually only lock and close useless and pointless threads. Oops my bad, this one probably will be closed then.

I must admit that I too am a littel annoyed with the lack of communication and driver/profile updates as of recently. It's been more than a month since the launch of a major title (ME2) and there still is no support for 3D Vision. If Fermi doesn't absolutely shred the current Cyprus chip, I think I will have to consider crossing over to the red side of life...

Even the forums are proprietary... go figure. I have created another thread on MTBS3D if you want to continue the discussion.
I agree that it's lame for nvidia to lock a thread simply because it has a comparison discussion of their competitors' products, but I also recognize that this is a proprietary forum and this is big business -- if they want to censor their forum, they are entitled to do that.
I think it's a bad move, though. Makes it look like there's something they're afraid of. You don't shut down a conversation if you think you're going to come out on top, you know?
Anyway, for now I'm remaining partial to Geforce 3d Vision. But if ATI can put forth a better solution (perhaps one that doesn't include blinking/flashing every few seconds....AHEM), I'm certainly open to new ideas. I wouldn't hold my breath, though.

What is going on lately nV? It is getting hard to recommend 3d vision with the kind of support we've been getting lately coupled with the draconian control you have taken over the hardware and drivers. I mean, why lock out the ability to increase depth over 100%, that's just petty. Also, how can we count on you to make profiles when it takes a month to get profiles for top tier games. Get someone in charge of 3d vision that can actually do the job, because whomever is handling it now is just pushing people away. You marketing teams cannot fix the kind of damage that is being done to 3dvision.

The biggest thing that is really starting to make me regret the extra $200.00 I dropped on the 3D Vision kit is the lack of profile releases. It would be understandable if they simply would allow users to create profiles themselves. To be honest, even with nVidia making the profiles themselves, I can’t see how allowing users to make them too is a bad thing.
I am almost starting to feel like we are being treated in the same manner Infinity Ward has treated us. I prefer PC gaming over console gaming because it is so much more customizable … or at least it used to be.

if i had a penny for every post that nv has altetered or edited or deleted.......................well i wouldn't have enuff for a small coffie but it is getting very annoying..........so i will have to start double posting everything over at MTBS so that it will see the light of day. Nv is shur working hard to keep real, proper, relivent AND truth from being read here its too bad that they dont spend the same amount of time getting fixes or working with partners to do what they said they would do.
I am thinking that the tide is about to turn and nv knows they are stuck with a bunch of soon to be worthless tech
ps Mabey we should start up the "why andrew doesnt come in here anymore" thread

Seriously, I mean I swear, some of you really sound like a bunch of whining babies.
First of all, as said, this is an Nvidia forum and they have a business to run, to come in here and knock Nvidia and then say you are going to sell your NV stuff to get ATI stuff, that's just childish. The grass is always greener, huh?
How can you get so excited about the possibility of ATI having some form of 3D? They have terrible driver support and NO experience with 3D whatsoever.
Nvidia continues to push the envelope with their technologies, refusing to simply rehash old technology into utilizing DX11. 3D vision by Nvidia is some of the best 3D I have ever seen, and I have seen quite a few solutions that don't hold a flame to Nvidias 3D. You also have to keep in mind that the technology is failrly new as far as implementing it into NV's drivers and creating profiles for the newer games is just another rung in the ladder of the things NV needs to keep on top of.
NV makes no secret of what displays are compatible and yet people bitch and moan when they spend a ton of money on a display that is cleary not supported (even if you think it should be based on specs) You guys need to just settle down and let the technology evolve and mature.
Am I totally absent minded about some of the issues with 3DVision, not at all, I am a retailer of all NV products and 3DVision is just as hot at my shop as it is in these forums, but when I sell a kit I make it very clear what can and can't be done, and what to expect and what not to expect. Some people go with it, and some simply wait till it matures a bit, no big deal. It's all about proper information and researching.
Now, think of everything NV has to keep track of in their drivers alone.
They have to write drivers that support multiple OS's, a plethora of GPU's spanning 10+ years that work in SLI on multiple chipsets, updating multiple game profiles, plus network/sata/raid support and the list goes on and on.
All I am saying is take it easy, getting mad in HERE isn't going to solve anything, these are user-to-user forums not "BitchAndMoanAtNV.com"
Lastly, have some respect for the moderators, they are not paid by Nvidia and plenty of people dedicate their precious time (all time is precious, life is short) to help people that, for the most part, refuse to research the products in question BEFORE they buy. Then their own ignorance turns into Nvidia bashing, because lord knows their own actions arn't to blame, oh no, they all need someone else to blame..
This isn't in response to anyone in particular, just my observations of the forum since the merge. I really liked it when SLI zone was it's own entity, people where a little more dignified, professionlal and it tended to have more of an "elite," certainly more knowledgable and respectful user base.
Most of you long-timers in here know what I am talking about..
