Using the iZ3D Beta 1.13 Drivers with 3D vision glasses

Strange... Just to be sure that I understand Your problem: Is the right lens of the glasses itself always dark (always "closed") even if You don't look at the screen but at the wall, etc.? Or is this impression the result of the monitor and the glasses getting out of sync? Does the image on http://photos.3dvisionlive.com You use to activate the IR emitter look normal (see 4. in my first post)? Or is there already this issue with the right lense?

Hi 3d4dd.No,the the right lens isn't always dark.It only happens when I try to use Iz3d.The images from http://photos.3dvisionlive.com looks perfect in 3d.As you stated,the reason ccould be the monitor and the glasses getting out of sync.Thanks.

Seems to be a sync problem...
Unfortunately You can't set the frequency used by iZ3D in the new diver version (in the beta there was an "force ...Hz" option, now it is only "default"). I'm not sure which frequency iZ3D uses now. I guess it's the frequency selected in the graphic settings for the game. So make sure that the frequency for 3D Vision (see 2. in my first post), the desktop frequency and the frequency for the game are the same. But even if the frequency for the glasses and iZ3D are the same there still can be a phase shift between the IR emitter and the pictures produced by the iZ3D driver. In most cases this results in left and right swap and can be solved by using the iZ3D hotkey to swap left and right again. Sometimes You get other issues (doubled or dark pictures). In this case it often helps to switch with alt + tab from the game to IE with the 3D image and then back to the game again. Or to restart the game.

As mentioned above the newest version of the iZ3D driver doesn't offer the option to force a certain refresh rate any more (e.g. "force 100 Hz"). This caused problems as some games switch to 60 Hz when they run in fullscreen mode. This disables the IR emitter and You can't play them with the combination of iZ3D driver and 3D vision glasses.
Now I have found a new way to force a desired refresh rate and get in the games the same frequency for the IR emitter and the iZ3D driver.

On the one hand the new driver version seems to provide a better and more stable performance and on the other hand I've replaced my GTX 260 with a GTX 560 Ti. Now the sync problems almost disappeared completely.

With the 3DVision driver I had the usual issues with fog and flames causing haloes or doubled images that made the demo in some parts almost unplayable in S3D. Using the iZ3D driver I've had initially the problem that the game only runs in 60 Hz. Riva Tuner helped to solve this problem forcing 120 Hz and now I can play the game in flawless S3D as iZ3D has no problems with fog or flames (similar to UR3 games) /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':smile:' />

After installing driver 301.24 every time I started a game using the combination of iZ3D driver/3DVison glasses the game crashed. So I had to switch back to 296.10 and feared that the new 3xx drivers wouldn't be compatible with my combination of iZ3D driver/3DVison glasses any more.
Luckily 301.42 works again with the iZ3D driver /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':biggrin:' />
New games I play with iZ3D as it offers much better S3D with less or even no issues are e.g. [b]Blades of Time[/b] or [b]Game of Thrones[/b] (set DynamicShadows=False in the file AGOTEngine.ini in the folder C:/Users/../Documents/Game of Thrones/UnrealEngine/AGOTGame/Config).
