Read someone in Reddit that tried them at CES and they were great, this is no real VR hmd since fov is low but they would be perfect for 3d vision, i hope they aren't ridiculously expensive.

I Also watched luci related material but i kind of ditched that idea as they are with see through optics as they are ar glasses mainly.
And there was no videos prosenting video playback in the glasses.
I just bought vuzix eye wear as they are damn cheap now. I thought they can't be that Bad as noone ever says anything Bad about them,
Exept maby more contrast would be nice. Though its left to see how will they work with 3D vision as i have an idea how to get them working with it.
By the way the Price of luci is at their site.... vuzix i mean

Yes shurely. I plan to rout traffic through my geobox that i use with my passive projector system.
It acts as a 3D vision "certified" device and it can output active 3D in 720p
Though i don't know does this benefit me in anyway if the device can't handdle 720p@120hz
Vuzix have so great tech section even they were not able to give me a list of supported input resolutions with refreshrates,
So im kind of in the dark. I was intreaged to test.

Hey pls share your experience with the vuzix and 3d vision when you get them, i'm really curious how well they perform, i still use my hmz-t1 (it's amazing it's still doing fine after so many years) but at some point they'll stop working so i'm looking for alternatives.

I wouldn't trust my money with this guys.
[i]"Why do you use the term 4K?

They call the FullHD micro-display 2K so they can multiply by to 2 and get 4K .... :))))

Whoa didn't even read more than the title, so many lies, that explains why it can be that cheap. Still the form factor is quite interesting, but i won't get close to this thing until it's released and has a lot of positive reviews.

BTW, I forgot to mention....
If you haven't seen it, Vive announced newer high res screens.
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1034617/htc-vive/htc-vive-announces-vive-pro-with-2880-x-1600-resolution/
Vive Pro includes dual-OLED displays for a crisp picture resolution of 2880 x 1600 combined, a 78% increase in resolution over the current Vive HMD.
its great that they have added resolution finally. I think thats is the vive 1.0 that vive and oculus should have been in the first place.
To me that is still not at all inticing as i think the low FOV is still so big bummer im not interested.
Im quite certain with pimax releasing the 8k with 200 degree FOV we are going to see atleast next year some competition from the big players and big FOV units no matter pimax delivers or not. For 6-700 hundred the vr experience needs to be AWSOME to get majority of people onboard on VR

ok iWear has arrived. woohoo. LOL
first i just wanna give you something about why i ordered the iwear and what is my current system now.
My current system is basicly what´s in my profile discrition.
Two used Mitsubishi HC5 projectors, quite similar to sony HW55 in picture quality for what i have read, i have never seen HW55 my self so i don´t know. and they are super quiet, even the 2 projectors at normal lamp mode are not any disctracting even during quiet moments.
I use DIY silverscreen and currently polarizers with the projectors

The image quality in my system is awsome, but there is minor fainth ghostish issues when white at black, not actually anything bothering. with Omega filtters the crosstalk is about zero but the omega filtters eat up extensively light with these projectors and the green is cut so it can´t be achieved perfectly even with a 3DLUT box. also my projectors are getting old and other one has a failure that cuold be fixed but i don´t wanna send it to germany ( i have a history with them, i have had like 6 times a projector there. one of my hc´s)
the other projector suffers from something moved in the optical block. the blue is cut from the right side couple centimeters. and is showing as yellow on white.

but actually when whatching this thing is forgotten almoust all the time. wery rarely you see it as it does not show but only on white mostly. but there is problem that can get worse with time.
and 3D vision with geobox (the 3d Demultiplexer that devides the 3d into left and right ) has small flaw,
there is a tear about 4" from the bottom of the screen upwards that is shown in the other eye only.
this luckily only shows when moving the camera, it´s some sort of synch tear. and luckily also is not that noticebyl.
But like i said many times, dual pj rig is so awsome in many ways it´s kind of the lamborchini of projection tehcniques. it doesnt do all but all it does it does to the extreme. So i always compare everything to that.
moving on .....
the box looked like it holds much expensive gear in it. loving the magnet on shutter on the flip top.

I did not have that much time to test the unit but here is my thoughts.
first the weight: Well it was not that heavy, it was not as light i expected but it was not eather heavy.
the comfort: well first i strugled with the head band. it´s kind of wierd that the head band comes to back of your skull like 45 degrees from the eye ear line up. but it has a good quick tightener. atleast for the first hour i did not feel it was too heavy.
the unit has quite small sweet spot to get good line of sight to the screens. there is something at the top
of the unit that is easily seen above the screens if the unit is too high. but this evens out when you tighten the unit closet to your eyes. There is a cascet around you face that you can add to the hmd if you wanna be more "in the dark" it worked really good. so overal the comfort was pretty ok, well not worse that lets say pimax or vive that i have tested quickly once on a fairshow.
compared to my setup. the comfort is about 3 if the dual projector setup is 10
with it there is lots of glasses to choose. and they are super comfy and light. and even the quality ones are under 2 dollar a pop.

by the way i could fit my glasses into iWear without and with the face seal piece, but with the seal it was a total hassle as the ear pieces are like wired to curl up. the henges have some sort of spring system to cramp up towards the screens.
Ok overal the the iWear in terms of weight and comfort was not any kind of issue for me.
here we get to the part is kind of bummer. Read to the end, everyone needs to be reminded here that I think all 3d Vision active displays are totally horrible to use and all active 3D is strugling to watch and all 1 chip dpl projectors are straight from hell because of the agony they cause me....i might be little exaggerate there but i wanna put perspective to what im seeing as i test the device.
I put the i wear on, it´s hooked to my PC.
my first thought...hmmm why does this flicker. the unit is recieving the 60hz with 720p and there is small flicker.
i was using the windows 7 basic desktop. ok there is small flicker image lookses ok. unit brightness was at full and i gotta say i turned it down couple notches as it was a little too bringt to me.
well i decide to try something that i know should work. i launch s.t.a.l.k.e.r misery as i had just installed it and tested the 3d works. In game i did not notice the flicker from the refresh
the iWear was shown as a 3D Tv play device and 3D on Stalker worked as it should.
but here comes the thing that made me feel stupid. HUGE rainbow effect...well propably nothing more than i see on a benq W1110 optoma Hd25 or similar 1 chip dlp. I see rainbows constantly as i move my eyes.
If you are good with 1 chip dlp projectors this is propably not at all a problem for you
but for me it´s UNUSABLE as i got always get a headache or i feel like im gonna get one with RBE.
if i had known there is dlp used i would not have even tried iWear but it did not even come to my mind.
then comes the screen:
I noticed Vertical banding. Not that bad but clearly there.
But the most biggest disappointment ( ok this was not, it was the RAINBOWSSSS...) was the color performance of the screen. Or actually it propalby was not even the color but level of POOR black that destroyed the image for me (please read to the end) yes stalker is, especially the misery is really dull looking game (but i also tested DeusEx mankind devided ) but the lack of good black caused the display to has really poor contrast. It was eather washed out or the image had good colors but everything in the dark was one constant black mess. and i would argue the poor black was the issue also on the stalker that it looked so washed out as i did not get it to look any better as turning down eather the hmd´s brightness or ingame settings just made the dark parts of the image one big black mess or everythign was a little washed out.
as you can see from the image when iWear has brightness at one of the top settings look how gray the black was compared to black in the image. it can be seen from the edge of the screen. I did not get that good image with my iphone out of the screens. the image was not as bad as in this picture but it was not a whole alot better eather.

the edges have strange blueish tint that propaly was not there when gaming.
the black was really Gray. Really grey.
I did try to get stalker run through my demultiplexer but i did not get it to work. i Don´t know why,
i might get back on that later but i started to think is there any difference anyways even i dould get it run thtough the demultiplexer as iWear is only 720p ? isn´t the refresh rate anyways 60 hz per eye ?
All and All.
If you have no problem with Rainbows or RBEffect and don´t wanna put 1000€ into a dlp projector for 130 dollar this is a good choise. If i were not RBE allergic i would pick this unit any day over 2D tv. And when comparing this device to any 1000 dollar 1 chip dlp projectors i have seen i don´t think it´s that far away especially when you look at the price, though you can get a used 3d vision monitor with a little more and i would recommend that if you can handle the active 3D, for me it´s horrid. the original 500 dollars for this unit has been way too much.
but compared to my setup even with it´s kinks and current small flaws it´s visually like day and night. 1 to ten...though so is the price compared LOL .... Image size is about the same size.
I propably will give this unit to my friend who has benq W1110 to evaluate and give his oppinnion on this device. after that it moves on.
I would have wanted to check out the Royole moon as it has 1080p displays it would have been more on the par even with the resolution but it´s closer to a 1000 with all the taxes and expensive if i would order one so atleast for now i won´t. And it has oled screens.
first i just wanna give you something about why i ordered the iwear and what is my current system now.
My current system is basicly what´s in my profile discrition.

Thanks for the sharing this. It did seem too good to be true but for FPV should work OK.
Regarding the black you should try switching output format to a limited dynamic range

Read someone in Reddit that tried them at CES and they were great, this is no real VR hmd since fov is low but they would be perfect for 3d vision, i hope they aren't ridiculously expensive.

"Why do you use the term 4K?
Cinego uses dual 2K (1920*1080) OLED microdisplays, providing image quality as good as 4K display. For most 4K devices, the filling factor (ratio of active imaging area to the whole pixel area) of each image pixel is less than 60%. For Cinego, the filling factor is as large as 90%."
They call the FullHD micro-display 2K so they can multiply by to 2 and get 4K .... :))))

"Goovis Cinego uses twin M-OLED 1920 x 1080 displays measuring 0.7 inches with a PPI of 3147. This means the Cinego has 7x the pixel density of larger M-OLED devices such as the iPhone X to provide you a clearer, smoother and more detailed picture quality."

If you haven't seen it, Vive announced newer high res screens.
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1034617/htc-vive/htc-vive-announces-vive-pro-with-2880-x-1600-resolution/
Vive Pro includes dual-OLED displays for a crisp picture resolution of 2880 x 1600 combined, a 78% increase in resolution over the current Vive HMD.
To me that is still not at all inticing as i think the low FOV is still so big bummer im not interested.
Im quite certain with pimax releasing the 8k with 200 degree FOV we are going to see atleast next year some competition from the big players and big FOV units no matter pimax delivers or not. For 6-700 hundred the vr experience needs to be AWSOME to get majority of people onboard on VR

first i just wanna give you something about why i ordered the iwear and what is my current system now.
