It all comes down to personal preference I suppose. I prefer to stay in first person mode and increase the depth for more immersion in the world for me. I do not really adjust the convergence much on this game.

Well convergence really adds to the depht in the game. It´s like you can walk right in the screen :0)

It includes a more reliable method of extending your draw distance than the one I posted earlier, as well as some other tweaks. Ambient Occlusion alone makes this game look amazing.

What do you mean by "controlling the first person view"? Are those settings able to keep the convergence up without doubling the hands/weapons?
[/quote]
fNear1stPersonDistance=65 ...moves the viewpoint in 1stperson mode - so removes the view of the weapons and hands .
We really need to adjust the game files to be able to have the weapons in view without doubling up.
I think this will only be possible when the construction pack comes out.

Well i tried these settings and they worked (sort off)
They corrupted shadows and there was no way turning back to the original settings so had reinstall the game on Steam :0(

Why are you guys adjusting the view to hide the weapons? They show up fine for me. I have max depth and have changed the convergence from whatever the default was, maybe you need to try to adjust that? Or maybe your eyes aren't yet trained for the large difference between the background and the close up weapons?

They are adjusting convergence based on what closest thing they see in game that is not the weapons which are pretty much at 0 distance. Its not really "trained" what you have set for convergence on weapons they probably have it set it for enemy who's right up in their face. Some people like convergence more then depth.Like your convergence is x value but their is same x value+5 since they dont have to see weapons.

I think the problem is that the desired convergence is not the same when using 3rd person view and when using 1st person. I personally play in 3rd person view, so I increase the convergence and if I switch to 1st person I notice a very hard doubled hand/weapon. But it is what happend in the real life..., if you focus your sight in something at 4 metres from you and you put your hand in the path, you will see your hand doubled. As close from you as you focus your sight, you will see how your hands became together.

I hope that when the mod tools are released the sky will be able to be fixed. I don't want to buy the game until everything looks alright.

The sky's alright now; the clouds and stars have been fixed, and the only thing that you need to remove is the moon, which isn't that big a deal since you could easily go a whole night in real life and not have to acknowledge the existence of the moon.

I installed the new beta drivers and the 1.2 patch for this game installed itself over steam and for whatever reason this game looks WAY more amazing in 3D now. I don't know if I had goofed up a setting before but now im getting way more depth and way better immersion. Strange, but awesome!

I must admit, this game looks fantastic in 3d. The depth and immersion is reminiscent of the old Edimensional glasses in the days when you didn't need to faff around with every game to get it looking right. Most games literally just worked straight out of the box. Fancy post-processing etc changed all that.
