3D Vision 2 Kit Discontinued?
  3 / 3
@Joohan: What model do you currently have, and what model are you considering? If they are upgradeable by adding the DIY board, that might make it easier to decide. The 2ms of latency is nothing compared to a delayed frame which will be 17ms to wait for the next one. 3D Vision 1 glasses do work fine with Lightboost.

True Paul it's simply as that so Joohan listen carefully, it DOESENT matter how fast the monitor is as I cant tell you that my Asus VG278H is probably just as fast as yours but that is NOT the problem mate!
I have a funny feeling we'll be having the same look on our faces as the kid in the Christmas movie after reading "Remember....to...........drink..................your...........................Ovaltine.....?" :|
Great movie, and whereas this is probably true, let's not be negative about this development overall. An nvidia moderator has posted twice after 18 months of blackout, and promised an update on 3DV development. Like I noted earlier, the fact that its not apparently being discontinued is great news in itself. My glass is definitely half full on this one :-)

In the interests of disclosure, the second post may be because of me. After he posted the first time, I PMed him to let him know we're feeling neglected over here, and that information on the future of 3d vision would be appreciated. I was hoping for something more substantial, but fingers crossed.

Kind of a tough call. The monitor you are looking at has the built in emitter. So if you were to change it out later, you'd need to get a pyramid emitter or another built in. The pyramid emitters are not sold alone, the only place I see them is eBay. I'm not a big fan of waiting, because you can always sell your stuff later if you are motivated. And the waits are sometimes a lot longer than expected. Also G-Sync is a brand new technology that is likely to have some growing pains. Something this bold will probably have some early adopter hardships along with the fun. G-Sync also does not seem quite as compelling for you, since you have not previously been annoyed by stutter or lag in current gaming. Since you are not particularly susceptible to lag and stutter annoyances, I'd say the scale tips slightly toward going ahead with your plans for current monitor. But of course, it's your call.

Don't forget that if new monitors are announced/released, the one you're looking at will likely see a price drop.
Don't forget that if new monitors are announced/released, the one you're looking at will likely see a price drop.
Thanks bo3b, I'm not a big fan of waiting either, and the new monitors that come out with G-Sync will of course be priced quite high, just as was the case when the first 3D monitors came out and then when monitors with Lightboost came out. I'll still have my 3D Vision 1 glasses if this G-Sync tech actually will be as important as it seems to be, so I can always use those if I get a G-Sync monitor later on. Pirateguybrush, the monitor that I'm thinking of buying has already seen a huge price drop (299e with 3D Vision 2 glasses included), and the price drop seems to be especially because there's this new tech coming out.
