Fresh start

I don't think there's anything more to be said here. Flugan has decided he does not want to be part of 3dmigoto any longer, and the appropriate steps to remove his contributions will be made. There's no point punishing the regular users by removing the existing fixes immediately. That would be petty, and punishes no-one except the users who had no part or fault in all this drama. Once the new assembler is ready, these can be updated. I'm sorry to see it come to this, but this seems like the end of discussions. Let's sink this thread now, anything from here on out will bring nothing useful.

Pirateguybrush you don't decide when a discussion is over. There seems to be a conconsencus but DarkStarSword still needs to make his decision of either giving me the splash screen or rewriting the assembler from scratch including the hash function. He can obviously find the hash function somewhere else which is the beauty of open source as long as he stays away from my code.

Flugan, you have made commits to an open source project. I don't believe you're entitled to "demand" a splash screen, or for your code to be removed. You have made the request, and DarkStarSword has stated that he will replace your code. In the meantime, I see no reason to take down existing copies of the fixes.

Edit: Wow, while I typed this I wound up a full page behind I've added an attribution for you on the MGS5TPP page - If I had known you wanted that acknowledged from the start I would have done so initially and I apologise for that oversight... but I have also revoked my family sharing access from the shared account and will purchase it myself. I have removed the Lichdom Battlemage fix from the blog temporarily until this is resolved one way or the other - if this blows over I am happy to reinstate it with an attribution to you in the blog post, otherwise it will wait until it no longer depends on your assembler. Edit: This is my choice, I am not required to do so. Edit 2: This is now reinstated with an attribution. I will update the FC4 fix shortly to remove it's dependency on the assembler, but I remind you that the history of that fix is public and the original version did NOT use your assembler - it was only used for two MINOR effects in the latest update. Edit: Done. For Witcher 3 - you are already attributed quite prominently along with everyone else who contributed, so I'm not sure what else you want there. A splash screen is really pushing it too far, and you have no right to demand one. Crysis 2 & 3 are DHR's fix, so it's up to him how he responds to this. I would remind all shaderhackers that when he contributed code to 3DMigoto it was licensed under the MIT license (and before you pull me up on it, it is dual licensed under GPLv3 every time we compile 3DMigoto) and he does not have any legal right to impose further restrictions retroactively, so you do not have to do anything and are free to choose how, or if, to respond to this.

There is a massive reason and that is that you don't want my assembler to begin with so you shouldn't use it. If you wanted to use it and gave me proper credit I see no problem but you have denied me any credit at all. That is a very hostile move. Removing me from the credits while keeping my code is not good conduct. It just isn't anyway you look at it. We could compromize and just give me credit on helixmod. Avoid the splash screen and I believe everybody could be happy with that. There will also be no need to rewrite the assembler at all. I have remove any demands for a splash screen from the OP. I do hope we can find an agreement. Nobody else get's a splash screen so why should I. While I've had a splash screen in my own wrappeer for a while it doesn't provide that much purpose. It's all about 3DMigoto. I used the splash screen to separate my wrapper from 3DMigoto but there is no need of it in 3DMigoto itself.

It's all about a simple thank you in the blog post no need to get flashy. The OP keps getting modified to try to find a good balance and right now I don't care about any unecessary splash screen. I just want people who go to helixmod see my namee once in a while. I'm currently a bit hypo-manic and this comes across quite clearly in this thread for instance. I should never have mentioned the splash screen but I didn't see what the problem would be at the time.

[quote="Flugan"]Let's get things in order and give credit where credit is due. I have looked through the whole helixmod site and I'm not mentioned even once. Every game I've contributed to should display my splash screen "Powered by Flugan". I should also be given shoutouts in the post. Thank you D-Man11 for clarifying the discussion. If you want to see the actual splash screen just download fluganwrapper from flugan.net I don't want to give anyone the wrong impression of how it looks or anything like that. It clearly does not belong in 3DMigoto as we all can agree I hope. In my oppinion it is pretty discreet but juggling two different builds some having a splash screen and some don't would be a nightmare in practice. All I'm looking for is some recognition and I'm clearly doing it the wrong way. The reason I edit posts is not to hide what I previously typed but to improve the post to make it better fit into the community. This makes the thread pretty confusing to read. I think we are all in agreement that the assembler stays exactly as it is and there will be no splash screen whatsoever. You could say that I'm changing the truth while the fact is that I'm changing my mind.

Thank you bo3b. I think this brings the discussion to a close. And as always the community prevails. Let's make it drop beyond the first page. My contributions have been small but important. You only need to look at the commit graph to see this very clearly.

FWIW, I knew Flugan wrote the assembler that a few fixes used so credit must have been given somewhere along the line. Hope you get the issue resolved to your satisfaction. Pretty sure no-one wants to take credit away or claim credit for themselves instead.
