Nvidia 3d Surround Problems
Hi! I have a problem with enabling 3D Surround on 3x ASUS VG278HE (only DVI) connected with 2x ASUS 980Ti STRIX 2-Way SLI (2 Cables with DVI and 1 Cable Display-Port). To connect the third Monitor at the Display-Port I bought a Activ-DL-Display-Port Adapter from Club3D (CAC-1051 3D Stereo 330MHz). Surround is working properly @ 5760x1080 at 144Hz/120Hz, but enabling 3D-Surround doesn´t work (black/flickering Screens or error messages). If I connect only one Monitor at the same time 3D-Mode works without Problems on all three. Does anyone expierienced the same problem? Is it a Driver/Win10 Problem? I heard the Club3D Adapter should work with Nvidia 3D-Surround. My Rig: ASUS Rampage V / 2x ASUS GTX980Ti Strix 2-Way SLI / 3x ASUS VG278HE 144Mhz / 16GB DDR-4 3000Mhz

You should be fine with that adapter. It very well could be a W10 or Nvidia driver issue. One thing to try is reinstalling the driver using DDU (Direct Driver Uninstaller). Often if the driver failed to install properly, DDU will do the trick.

I don't have any problems (except the known ones: unable to setup custom resolution in surround/ list is empty, shortcut keys not working yata yata ya...). Under Win10 I had no issue with enabling 3D Vision Surround. I only have problems with the 353.62 shietty driver NOT rendering correctly... I see you have 980Tis so I can't tell you to install older drivers :(.. But try DDU and a clean reinstall of drivers..

First of all, thx for your reply. I cleaned my system with DDU (my old graphic cards were still listed here). Afterwards I reinstalled the Nvidia 353.62, but unfortunately that did not solve the problem. I think it´s a problem with Win10 in conjunction with the 980Ti´s and the driver. I am going to wait for the release of the new Nvidia driver, I hope they will bring it up soon and fix the problem. Nevertheless, thanks for your help!

After selling one of my 780 I tested with same adapter on single 780 using 2 DVI and 1 DP via adapter. I tested this, because I wanted to quit SLI and using single 980ti @ Surround. This didnt work really good and I mostly got this failure "use correct cable ". So I sent this Adapter back and will stay @ Single 780 @ single monitor. I dont wanna throw too much money for 980 Ti Sli to Nvidia, because the lack of 3D Vision support, but thats my mindset. In your case I would buy 2 980ti Gigabyte G1 , each of them got 2 DVI and with these cards you dont need this adapter.

Hi For 3D surround you need to use 3 DVI or 3 DP Connectors.. If you want to use the 2 DVI and an DP Adapter get a DP to DVI Dual link adapter that is the only adapter that will work.. check here: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/surround/system-requirements

Hi The_Nephilim! I have a DP to DVI Dual Link Adapter (Club3D DP to DVI-D Dual Link 3D Stereo 330MHz CAC-1051). But also with the new Driver 355.60 no chance to get the 3D-Surround enabled.

It should work, it has a 330MHz bandwidth. 1920x1080P@120 is 285.5424 MHz Perhaps the one you had was faulty or it was a driver issue.

Ya, it "should" work, I agree, but it didn't for me. I tried this route on the Witcher 3/Helifax post in the Surround Forum. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/839311/nvidia-surround/-how-to-wticher-3-3d-surround-benchmark-solution/ I had 3 of the Club3D Active Cable (CAC-1051), and even powered them with 3 X IPAD 2.1 amp chargers, to eliminate the potential of not enough juice from my MB. The monitors I was using at the time were VG278H X 3. I fiddled for days, and got surround to work for maybe 10 minutes, but kept ending up with "incorrect cable" errors on the monitors, not all at the same time either. I sent them back to Amazon and got my money back...and went and got BenQ XL2720Z's for DP. ...then had to start traveling and haven't played a damn game - 1 more month and I'm going to crawl in to my back room and play some GTA V - maybe.... Drivers tested during that process: 350.12 and 353.06, yup, used DDU. Hi, I am having the same issue. I am also on Windows 10. My setup is 3x Asus VG278H monitors and a single Geforce 1080. I have one screen plugged DVI and the 2 others using an active DP to DL DVI adapter (Accell B087B-007B, the exact one NVIDIA told me to buy). I have error messages from the screens telling me to use the cable that came with the monitor (which I am doing). Also when no signal go to the screens (when in single-screen resolution), one of the side screens flickers. Also, 3D mode stay stuck on after a game ends. Finally the IR emitters seems to do a little more noise than before. Previously, I had dual Geforce 680, all screens plugged DVI and 3D surround was working. Tryed all of the above: DDU and reinstall the latest graphic drivers and plugged the USB part of the adapters with a separate power bar. I contacted Accell a few times and they are not providing any support; nothing yet after more than 2 weeks... I am still trying solutions with Nvidia, but so far no luck. Anyone have further ideas for this? If nothing works, I am also thinking of switching to 3 BenQ XL2720Z to remove the need for adapters. Since I had 3 built-in IR emitters and would go with a single external one for 3D surround, I wanted to be sure 3D surround would work before making the costly change. Sorry to revive an old thread but this still seems an unresolved issue. Thanks :)

I recommend just using three Dp cables. This is what I use into the primary card and have no real problems. (980ti has three ports for DP doesn't it?)

If that happens, set your resolution in Windows/Game to 100-110-140HZ. AVOID the 120HZ. You will get rid of this issue... Others than this, you can safely unplug the monitor from the adaptor and plug it back in. NV-Surround will not break as the GPU is still "seeing" the adaptor as the monitor;) Is not 100% bug free solution, but works 95% of the time;)

Thanks for the quick replies!! :) It's true if I unplug the monitor or if I turn it off when it has the incorrect cable message and then turn it back on, it won't keep the incorrect cable message and works fine. However the bad part in my case it's that I have this incorrect cable message every time I boot my computer or start a 3D game. For me, changing the refresh rate from 120 hz to 110 or 100 in Nvidia control panel got me that incorrect cable message each time when applyed unfortunately .

fwiw, I gave up on the adapter cable approach even after making sure it had plenty of voltage. The BenQ's with 2x980ti - 3xDP in card 1 works fine :-)
