Emagin Z800 Visor deliveries in June July

Also pay attention to their showing of Z800 3D at E3.
Keep an eye out at the E3 newsletter: http://www.e3insider.com/index.aspx

I would give it a go but it would be $1100 not $899 once I've paid duty and VAT on importing it to the UK...so I'd have to be pretty sure about it as a product.

Can I ask anyone that goes to E3 to try one out and post their opinions or if someone buys one and posts their results.

Thanks

I wonder what games are being shown..
It doesn''t look like headtracking is enabled, i hope they are demoing it with stereo though.

"With a list price of $899, the Z800 3D Visor won't come cheaply. eMAGIN says the unit should be available through its retail site and at select outlets this June. eMAGIN also has plans to release less capable versions of its visor at lower price points later this year. Next year, eMAGIN hopes to release a version of the visor that will run at a resolution of 1280x1024"

I love it when the marketing department of whoever make these things say " the equivalent of a 105-inch screen at 12 feet.", or in the case of I-glasses (http://www.i-glassesstore.com/iglassespc-3d.html): "Virtual Image Size: 70 inches at 13 foot!".

What they really mean is "equivalent to a 9 inch screen at a foot away" and "Virtual Image Size: 5 inches!" /devil.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Well, how else would you put it? The display is less than 1" diagonal, it's magnified and focused at 10 feet. The magnification factor and focus is what's setting the virtual image size, so certainly an adjustable focus system could have a variable virtual image size, but I don't beleive either of the systems you mentioned have variable focus.

That's why they don't say "equivalent to a 9 inch screen at a foot away" nor do they say "equivalent to a 90 meter screen at a football field away"
