I'm so close to pulling the trigger on this deal...

I want to get the 3d setup going sose I can get my game on with Batman and Gears of War. I see that CompUSA has this deal Samsung 2233RZ + 3d Glasses + EVGA Video card
Well, I already have 2 EVGA GTX260's so I could turn around and sell the 9800 GTX right away. This looks like a no-brainer to me, right? What do you folks think? /yes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I'd recommend against it - the monitor isn't up to the job, the top quarter of the screen will ghost and not display in 3d. I have this monitor and severely regret my purchase, it doesn't work as advertised.

Well, that sucks! What about the Viewsonic model? Although every review I've read states the Sammy has a better build and/or quality. I really don't want to take the plunge only to end up disappointed. However, it seems that a lot of people on this forum are more than satisfied with their 3d experience so far.

Not everyone suffers from this. I have no issues with 3D not working at the top of my Samsung.

I can personally guarantee that you will love gaming in 3d stereo. Some of the memebers here now take it for granted, but 3d stereo truly enhances the entire experience of gaming. It can make mediocre games exciting and great games absolutely amazing. Wait until you play some arkham asylum in 3d, damn that's sweet.

Is 3d stereo perfect? Nope... Is the juice worth the squeeze? You're damned right it is!!

Be sure to spend some time getting to know the advances settings and convergence controls after you recieve your hardware. It will take a little while to get a feel for your particular prefrences in 3d. Personally, I like to crank the depth as high as possible and adjust convergence until I get just a little bit of popout from the nearest objects.

I recommend waiting a little bit as Acer should be launching their Full HD 120hz 3d ready monitor soon. If you can't wait, you can't go wrong with the Sammy, which I have myself. Yes, it does have ghosting, but it's nothing to shoot yourself in the foot for. In the near future, I do plan on buying a 3d ready projector as I would like an upgrade in size.

I also have no issues with my Samsung, I don't get the issue up the top of the screen or the other where people say say they see like interlaced lines or something.
Everything seems fine to me.
Surely Samsung and the Nvidia glasses have sold enough by now for there to be only a faulty unit here or there every now and then as normal.
Take the plunge dude, I paid close to $1000 way back to get my kit imported from New Zealand to Australia so I can only imagine the good deals over there.

And I wouldn't bother waiting to go 1680x1050 22" up to acer's 1920x1080 24", 2" aint squat when you use this as a stepping stone to the new screens coming or projector.
To tell you the truth I'd be happy if that new Optoma or Acer (1280X720) projectors that have just come onto market work fine driver wise, detection wise and ghosting wise with Nvidia 3d Vision.

1920x1080 projectors will be nice, but just 100 per cent working 1280x720 HD Ready Resolution will do me just fine :)

So far in the 3-D world I've had
Zalman 22" 1680x1050 (!680x1050 Polarized so lost half vertical resolution, loved it didn't notice the missing resolution and wanted to keep it but had stuck pixel and couldn't get another, and recently I notice the Zalman glasses that I do still have had more ghosting that the ones from the theater when I was watching Avatar which I thought was strange)

Samsung Plasma PS50B450 (3D checkerboard, again loose half the resolution but don't notice. Works like a charm but bit of ghosting but I reckon Nvidia Glasses are to blame :)

Viewsonic 120hz PJ6211 projector I think was model number (owned for a day,was crap put it on ebay and sold as 1024x768 res and other stuff was an issue for me)

Samsung 22" 120Hz (Still loving it and the Plasma for my 3-D needs)

Due to the way the screen refreshes (top to bottom), the top 5 percent and top bottom 5 percent of the screen have a reduced 3d effect, and you're more likely to see double images here.

Thankfully, I've never met a game where this became an issue unless you looked at those parts of the screen instead of the center. Are you gonna move your eyes top to bottom, or move your mouse and change the in-game view?

Still, some people swear up and down this isn't an issue for them. I think it's just not a big issue anyway.

I have the viewsonic model and get the double image at the top and bottom but i can promise you it does not bother me in the slightest. Batman was absolutely sensational in 3d and was worth the purchase for that game alone but now im playing Oblivion, Dragon age, Toca 3, GTA4, TR Underworld, Max Payne 2, World of Warcraft........the list goes on and on...All outstanding. Let us know what what you decide. :D

I've had both Viewsonic and Samsung products in the past and they have both been great. Since I currently have a Samsung HDTV which I love, I have decided to go with the Samsung deal. Should be here in a couple days!

So you are telling me that you get absolutely no ghosting on any game whatsoever, you have a complete stable image on the whole screen, and shed loads of people apart from you got a faulty model.

Plus the fact that i DONT get ghosting at all on Tomb raider underworld or 3d vision certified games? how do you explain that.
