Black Ops 2 3D ( Some Issues)
  1 / 7
Posted this on steam and I hope someone here can help me. Playing the campaign on 3D is just Awesome, But I can't seem to fix the problem when scoping with the gun, the sight just seem way off. My crosshair is directly on the target but the bullet seems to hit more to the left of the target. I made a video of it "Skip to 6:23 " to see what I mean. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7lLt8RILbc I was hoping that adjusting the convergence would fix the problem, but it seems that you can't adjust the convergence in Black Ops 2 and bypassing that in Black Ops 1 is easy by adjusting the config.cfg which is not present in Black Ops 2 Also watching the 3D video on youtube is not as awesome as the edited Raw video while playing on Nvidia 3D Vision Video Player. Any info or tips on the subject would be very helpful.

Kind of, sort of. I havent played game but the unlocker that works for other games works for black ops 2 I been told. http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2012/06/how-to-unlock-convergence-in-locked.html Basically increasing convergence will help alleviate that issue, but then if there are guns with ironsights(im sure there are)... will be more difficult. Game looks fun in single player, but I really wouldnt recommend it in 3d for MP.

I would try the unlocker if it would help, I tried 3D on multi and Zombie mode and I can say that the Campaign is much better. I guess they had 3D in mind in the first place. Anyone know why uploading 3D in youtube or in the 3dvisionlive website the 3D effect diminishes a lot from the original video taken. Is the encoder that youtube uses different? or does it something to do with the processing? Thanks for the replies!!! ^_^

Well I'm sure they re-encode them to make the downloads (and storage size) way smaller. Plus the resolution is way down. Plus you had to throw out half the pixels to fit their side by side format. Ugh! The is the old ironsight problem. Stick your finger up about half way between your face and the screen. Now try to cover the quote mark thing in the upper right of this post with your finger. You can't do it! If you focus on the quote mark then you see two fingers. If you focus on your finger then you see two quote marks. When you actually use a scope like that you don't use two eyes, you use one. Unfortunately, 3D Vision makes its two images by making one image a little to the right and another a little to the left. That's optimal for most situations but, in situations like this, not so much because it means the place you are "really" aiming at is half way between what your two eyes are telling you. If you set the YouTube video up to show side by side instead of 3D you can see the problem clearly. In the right frame you're shooting just fine but in the left frame you are way off to the left. The direction you're really shooting is half way between the two - so slightly to the left. The best fix for this is for NVIDIA to give us a 'dominant eye' option. In that case you just tell it to use the right eye dominant and it leaves the camera for that eye in the location that the game is using and only shifts the camera for the other eye. The minus to that is that it looks like you're a little to the side of where you actually are. The plus is that, in a situation like this, you just close one eye and your scope aims true. We've been asking NVIDIA for this for years now, though, and nothing has happened. The other option is to push the 3D way down. The problem will still happen but the effect will be too small to make you miss. Or you could just always aim to the right. A mod that shoves the sight out about 10ft would help a ton, too, though it would sure be odd with a sight. Personally, I would just turn 3D off then turn it back on again when the shooting stops. P.S. To all the men in Black Ops - SHAVE IT OR GROW IT! These guys remind me of Hulk Hogan in his NWO days.

Anyone able to get the Autohotkey RighMouseBind script to work with this? I've tried everything I can think of but it refuses to work. Getting it to work would imo fix the biggest issue in this game (you're forced to play with low convergence and/or depth values or otherwise the ironsights/scopes are broken) and also greatly enhance the 3D experience.

@Joohan, You have so use the Autohotkey RighMouseBind script with helix DLL (the preset are stored in the ini)...This game is dx11, so Helix DLL dont work with this game. And for the other hand this game is convergence locked (Today i will try NVAPI made by Chiri if work)

Yeah, I am using the NVAPI to unlock the convergence. Now that you told me, I remember hearing this game being DX11 only so no wonder it's not working. Hopefully Helix will get his DX11 wrapper ready soon though. Is there any way to get the Autohotkey RightMouseBind script to work with DX11 games btw? Anyone know what exactly are they using DX11 in this for?

No functions from helix's wrapper will work on DX11. Chiri's unlocker will function regardless of DX version. I'm not sure if this is actually true but as of like 6 months ago. Developers/nvidia/amd claim DX11 offers superior performance over dx9 because they can increase GPU usage and reduce CPU usage. I havent really researched it so Im not sure if its bogus. Anywho thats the gist of it. Game doesnt have any DX11 visual improvements but uses DX11 for the performance.

It's about 10 lines of code and I'll do it this evening when I come home.

Taking the gunsight issue out of the equation, are there any major issues with the game in 3D? For instance, do shadows render correctly with high depth and is the crosshair dynamic?

Arioch, these are the issues i found (posted in the other thread - 1 hour playing) - Name Target Markers in 2D (at least for me very annoying, because the icon/circle of the Target Markers is 3D) - Halos in Water - The problem of this thread - Others (minor) Shadows to my sorprise are OK and crosshair is 3D (no dynamic). Playing 100% depth, Game locked convergence and 310.54 Beta drivers

I'd really like to see a comeback of the old cg_drawgun command. I used to play old fps without the gun on screen, and it could be a useful command for 3D gaming.
