You will end up with an activated copy of windows but no license key. So basically take a system restore image asap. http://www.zdnet.com/article/with-a-nod-and-a-wink-microsoft-gives-away-windows-10-to-anyone-who-asks/ It's the second story update.

I didn't want to have to and I tried to resist but it's official I just had to sign into an OS with my Xbox LIVE account ... the price you pay for free. :)

Back to 3D Vision with Windows 10 for a minute... I installed and tried Win10 build 10159 last night and installed the 353.30 Windows 10 drivers. I couldn't see any 3D Vision configuration page in the driver panel. The driver container only contains the 3D Vision USB driver. There is no 3dVision.exe in that whole driver package. So is 3D Vision totally dead on windows 10 with the latest drivers? WTF would they include the USB driver and not the executable to initiate 3D Vision? OR, am I blind and is there a "new" method to get 3D Vision working with the latest drivers on Windows 10? Thank goodness I always have an image ready to get back to my original OS. Anyways, I know July 29 is a ways off still and EVERYTHING windows 10 is still to be considered beta and therefore bug ridden. But I was just surprised to see no way to get 3D Vision working and that would be one heck of a deal breaker for me if it came to updgrading.

They better support windows 10, all the game works features are just weak, subtle and bland compared to 3d vision. I can't see the community supporting physx or hairworks if that was dropped from games, thats for sure. Are they blind or what? Sometimes you have to acknowledge what you've got to know where you are going, but not Nvidia! :D If there is one bit of tech nvidia should still support it's 3d vision. It's crazy not to. They should stay true to themselves rather than following the trends. What was all this talk of Nvidia VR direct (or whatever it was called) when the 980 came out? I thought it was supposed to make 3d vision compatible with VR? (or the other way round) I really hope they bring us a VR and 3d vision compatible format so we can use both without the need of separate 3D and VR profiles. It's all gone a bit quiet on that front, maybe they are planning something big. Is anyone really bothered about streaming and clouds and companion apps and shields etc??? I know I couldn't give a crap about those and just want my games to be the best on the system I bought my nvidia card for! Stick to what you know and do it well! It's the same with companies like cyberlink. Adding naff apps and cloud storage and film streaming etc. I don't want that I want 4k hardware acceleration and dolby atmos decoding to anaologue. Nvidia and cyberlink are investing money into tech no one wants. Stick to your niche or you'll lose your bread and butter clients.

Would have been awesome for something like Pinball Arcade/FX2, but not a whole lot more. Most games would have had locomotion issues that would have bothered/driven away all the most avid neck-beards.

Sorry Bo3b but I think I may have not made myself clear. I don't think Pirates post really applies to mine. I was simply wondering why there was no 3D Vision driver in the last couple of Win10 driver releases? It struck me as odd that they would include the 3D Vision USB driver only. So for now, in order to get 3D working, I've just copied the NV3DVision folder from the 352.63's into the latest installer package. It installs fine, kinda glitches when I first enable 3D (blank screen then it logs me out for some reason). But after that, it works just fine. In regards to Pirates post, I do have a second SSD with Win 10 installed for testing and I agree. I wouldn't adopt it as my main OS for quite some time, even after july 29.

[/quote] I've been using Win 10 and 3D since it was released. Mostly works exactly the same as Windows 8.1 for me. If you don't have the 3D Vision driver installed through the Windows insider build update then just download them from their own link and install directly. That'll give you the option. That being said, the latest drivers (353.3x) seem to have broken the 3D Vision driver for me. I'm seeing very strange behaviour in Witcher 3 anyway (left eye is very dark for near screen graphics, and I get a weird blue/white swirl effect for anything in the distance) so have rolled back to 347.88 which are the only other drivers I can install for my 980 Ti's on Win 10. Those drivers work perfectly for me in 3D though.

Yes, it has a NV3DVision folder. It has a newer 3D driver and 3D controller, I just think they've changed something that affects the 3D Migoto fixes massively under Win 10...

Hopefully they will get their house in order quickly. Apparently, win 10 is launching at the end of this month... If it doesn't have as good support for 3D vision, I don't see many of us migrating.

3D works fine for me under W10, it's the 3DTV activation which is still not up which is more worrying, blame NVIDIA, not MS. In general the performance under W10 is a lot better, Witcher 3 runs visibly faster under W10, and I can enable more options under the Ultra setting.
