3D laptop - which projector? help please! Throw distance is an issue
Hi guys, I have an Alienware M17xR3 3D laptop which is great and I use it to play 3D games on. Me and the girlfriend also watch 3D movies on it (we've got 2 sets of NVidia glasses).
However as it only has a 17" screen (and I've got the 3D bug /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ) I want something bigger to play 3D content on and also watch standard 2D TV on too. I have a standard 40" LCD TV (non 3D) which I want to get rid of and replace with a projector (hopefully).
As I only have a small lounge, I have a free wall which would be 160cm x 90 cm viewing area (183cm/72" diag) and I think I'm looking for a projector with a small throw distance (sub 2m) due to the position of the ceiling lights in the room. The size is not massive for a projector but is a lot bigger than a 3D lcd/led.

From reading the forums, most people seem to recommend the Acer H5360, but looking at the throw distance calculator it's outside my ranges.

People also recommend the Optoma GT750 which has a small throw distance and would be ideal, but it is not listed as a supported projector on the NVidia site.

Can anyone give some advice? Would this setup even work?

Thanks

Its supported with 3dtv play but that means you would have to get dlp link glasses, nvidia glasses wont work.

You can however make it work with 3d vision. Just dont ask how on this forum, its not allowed /sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Thanks for the info JoeBe...

I had a search today and found a thread about the GT750, this guy says you cannot get it to work with 3D vision?

I have a GT750E and it works great with 3dtv play. I am projecting a 135 inch image from 7 feet. I ordered the optoma 3d-rf glasses instead of dlp link glasses and there is no ghosting. I have been very impressed with this projector. It is bright too. 3d movies look great too.

Hi 1bert1, sounds like a great projector...

I should have made it clear in my first post that I'm only looking at 3D vision as I don't own a copy of 3DTV play nor do I want to have buy 2 more sets of glasses. The GT750 is listed as a supported projector for 3DTV play, just not 3D Vision.
