Hello all,
I am new to this forum and I need some advise. I have a XFX 750i SLI mother board with a Evga GTX 9800 series graphics card. I am getting a second one in a week from Ebay to do SLI. I also have 4 gigs of OCZ SLI-Ready Dual Channel 4096MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz Memory (2x2048MB) with four more comming on its way. Also I am getting a XFX 850 was power supply also.
My question is that with how small my room is, I have a 47 inch HD TV and I cannot afford the space of a separate computer monitor. I have been looking at this LCD 3D TV from Samsung and it looks like a good candidate. My brother said that Nvidia will have to update the drivers to work with the Samsung TVs sometime in the future. I also was wondering how I would connect this TV to my computer to do 3D also. My brother and I wonder if this means that the glasses would not work for computer. For example, 3D games and such until update is done to support the TV so the glasses would work at all on the Samsung HD TVs.
Samsung stated in the specks that to View 3D, you need a 3D device to project 3D, my 3D graphics card is an example, but my PS3 can do 3D. You need the 3D glasses and high-speed HDMI cable. Here is my issue, my GTX 9800 series only have DVI connectors. Does Nvidia or any other company make 3D HDMI to DVI cables that would work for this TV? The only cables I could find work for DLP enabled TVs. Samsung makes 3D glasses too but I do not know if they would work for the Nvidia stuff.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated,
Steve
