I'm having a few issues since I installed 1.11 drivers and maybe I can get some help here.

For some crazy reason, when I have 3D stereoscopic 3D mode enabled sometimes when running a game, right at the start of it, I get this annoying message: Warning: Attempt to run stereoscopic 3D in non-stereo display mode, please change to a acceptable mode. See documentation for acceptable Stereoscopic 3D modes. That doesn’t make much sense cause my monitor is 120hz and all the game options are according to 3D mode, there’s nothing I can change that will make this go away. This happens a lot often with Left For Dead, Street Fighter IV, Grid and COD5. For another weird reason it never happened to Dead Space. Usually when this message pops up in my screen all games I try to run will show this message but Dead Space.

I’m pretty sure this is a driver issue cause I’ve never experience anything like this before while using 1.10 drivers. If this message appears the game will run at 3D mode, but the 3D glasses won’t sync (work) with it, anyway the message doesn’t go away.

Hopefully I figured out a way of getting rid of this annoying bug. I usually have SLI enabled and if this message appears during an attempt to run a game I just disable and then enable SLI and the error will go away and I can play the game in 3D mode flawlessy.

Have any of you experienced this kind of driver issue?? For some weird reason the driver doesn’t understand that my system, monitor are 3D vision ready or something like that, cause if it this message was something related to game options it wouldn’t just disappear if I just enabled or disabled SLI. So far this is the only solution I manage to get rid of this annoying red message that prevents me from playing in 3D mode.

A interesting thing that happened today was that I ran Left for Dead in 3d mode and the message did not show up hopefully but then I forgot to set my VGA’s fans to 100% using EVGA Precision 1.8, that’s the tool I use to control my VGA’s and I really don’t trust Auto fan while gaming. After I did that and went back to the game the annoying red message was there and besides I closed the EVGA application it would not go away. Once again I had to disable and enable SLI in Nvidia control panel and the message went away.
I must run a few more test, I’m not sure there’s a problem between EVGA Precision and these 3d drivers or if it’s something related to SLI, that I doubted cause SLI is 100% compatible with 3D Vision and both are technologies from the same company.

While using driver 1.10 I’ve never experience any problems like this, so maybe there’s a problem between EVGA Precision and these new 1.11 drivers. I will run a few more tests and figure out why this message keeps showing up and freaking my day. I don’t understand why same games like Dead Space are not affected by this issue.
Btw, This also happened once when I had SLI disabled so I don’t think it has something to do with SLI, maybe EVGA Precision, but I need this software, can’t trust auto fan for my VGA’s during gaming.
My PC has been very stable for the last 6 months, no hard locks and no BSOD’s, but for some reason yesterday while I was watching TV and the PC was doing nothing just showing the desktop it BSOD without no reason. After reading your posts I’m start to suspect it has something to do with these 1.11 drivers.

Everytime I restart my PC this message will appear when running a game, not all games, but most of the games I have and the only way I can make the message go away is disabling and enabling SLI again. For some reason this action makes the crazy driver realize that my monitor is running at 120hz in a stereo mode. I've tried all kinds of changes in game options and the message woudn't go away so I figured it out that disabling or enabling SLI eliminates the issue. But it really sucks that everytime I turn my PC on I have to go through this procedure in order to play the game in 3D mode.

I know it's a driver issue cause I've never seen this message when using 1.10 drivers. The only thing 1.11 drivers are better than 1.10 is that white flashes is not much of an issue anymore but these new drivers are way more unstable. If someone found a easier way to deal with that red message please let know. I'm not sure if I'm the only one getting this bug. I've already tried reinstalling the drivers again using driver sweeper but it did not work. It doesn't have anything to do with EVGA Precision I think cause it happens even if I don't run this application.

Usually this error message is being displayed when the game is currently on to low refresh rate, for instance if it is at 60Hz and the 3D Vision is enabled and tries to run. Normally this happens the first time you run a game and it is not properly setup - lower resolution/refresh rate is set by default.

Bloody, thanks for helping out. I know that but this warning message doesn't make sense cause It doesn't matter what changes I make in game options, the message won't go away. Left for Dead for example if I go to game options, everything is correct, the refresh is 120hz and the ratio is 16:10 1680 x1050 resolution. Anyway you don't need to change this manually, when you activate 3D stereoscopic 3D mode it forces the game in 120hz automatically.

I never had this issue using 1.10 drivers, this only happens with 1.11, that sucks. Anyway I don't get white flashes anymore with these new drivers but i get the crapy warning message.
If this warning message was related to the game refresh not being at 120hz then the solution I found which is desabling and enabling SLI woud not make a difference, but it does If I activate or desactive the SLI then the message goes away and I can play 3D flawlessy. And it stays oK until I have to restart my PC again and the problem comes back again.

Btw, not all games have refresh rate option that you can select between 60hz and 120hz, only a few have this option. Left For Dead, COD5, and a few other games keeps showing this red warning message but Dead Space never showed me the message. It happens with most of the games but not all games.
Also If I run Nvidia tests, wizard test, everything is setup right, no problem and 3D is enabled 100% according to these tests.

I don't get why I keep getting this message, It doesn't make sense, I've tried to change game options but it won't go away, only messing arround SLI setup will eliminate this issue until I restart my PC again.

For some weird reason, I ran Left for Dead righ after I've turned my PC on and the warning message didn't appear but then I hit Crt + Alt and ran the EVGA Precision application to set my VGA's fan to 100% , after I went back to the game the warning message appeared again and I could only get rid of it disabling and enabling SLI mode. I don't get why I keep getting this warning non sense message??????

If someone has a clue let me know....

I have seen this exact same message sometimes in my games also. It will sometimes happen after I have played the game for a while and I walk away from the computer and don't play for a few minutes. When I come back to play this message will be on the screen and I can't get the glasses to activate. Restarting the game has worked for me in getting rid of the problem. It does seem like a driver problem.

Thanks for sharing your experience, now I'm sure it's a driver issue!! Let's wait for 1.12 and hope they fix this annoying message.
1.11 drivers did a good work reducing a lot the white flashes compared to 1.10, but now we have this issue.
I'll try to restart the game to see if it helps, I think I might have done that once and didn't work that time so desabling or enabling SLI was the only solution I found to get rid of this issue.

I have installed drivers 1.12 and I still keep getting this annoiyng message and the only way to get rid of it is desabling and enabling SLI.
Is anyone aware of a SLI bug with S3D???
I thought this red message bug was related to driver 1.11 cause I don't recall this issue using driver 1.10, therefore it appeared again with drivers 1.12.
I know what this message means, but it's clearly a bug, cause It don't matter what changes I make in game's option, only desabling and enabling SLI solves this issue at least til I restart my PC again.
This annoying red message never takes place while playing Batman, RE5 and Dead Space.
If somehow it appears while playing Need for Speed - Shift and I close the game and run COD5, the message will be there, the same with Street Fighter IV, Grid and Left 4 Dead. Once the message is displayed in one of these games it will not go away until I disable and enable SLI in Nvidia control panel. But if I don't do this trick and play Batman for example, no message, cause for some weird reason this message only takes place with some games but not all games I have installed in my PC.
Can anyone help me to figure out why this annoying warning message keeps appearing???
I always do a complete uninstall before installing new drivers. I always use driver sweeper in safe mode.

I get this message every time I have had my desktop up and running on another monitor or tv, other than my acer 3d display.
The only luck I've had is to reinstall the 258.96 nvidia driver and then the 258.96 stereoscopic driver. This is a solution, but tiresome if you like watching movies from your pc on a different monitor.

In other words, The driver for the stereoscopic 3d stops working properly (and gives you the error message) after having another monitor than a 120kHz monitor active.

I get this exact message when I run the test program in Nvidia setup! I can't make it go away in test or games. I do not have an SLI set up...that I am doing this weekend.
I will have 2x 480 cards after sat.....but this problem is driving me nuts.

I had this problem too. I dont SLI so this might not help but on the test options (with the spinney floaty nVidia tag) I set the default to a lower res: 1440*900. I still play my games on the higher res but that nailed the problem for me...

I just recently have this problem.

I also have an Acer GD235hz.

The only game this does it to me on is Need For Speed: World (at least, so far I've found out).

but the thing is, it didn't do it last week. I assumed they did some update to their video mode.

Now if I don't reboot my machine after getting that message on NFS:W, I will get it on all my other games. Rebooting fixes that.

The only thing that changed on my system, besides windows 7 updates, was an update for my acerGD235hz, which I stupidly accepted (hindsight is making me wonder if that was the cause).

Note:
I have 2x 460 SLI
Only 1 monitor.
