But what screen is best suited for 3d vision gaming, the ideal screen seems to differ for 3D over normal use where matte seems to be the norm.

I found matte white screen bad for 3D vision ,way too dark you should get a screen with gain of at least 1.8. Thats not matte white.

any more views and comments regarding screen, also any suggestions for UK to buy a screen from

ive found plenty of online outless selling matte and grey screen but not gloss ?

thanks in advance...
Well I called Da-Lite and talked to a few of their people as well as the people from theprojectorpeople.com The all had the same answer for me. I was told to get the Video spectra model c. I pulled the trigger on this a secong ago. this

It is only a 1.5 gain but they said that that would be plenty bright for my setup. BTW I have mounted the Acer h5350 rom the csiling (upside down) and it is throwing an image about 84 inches wide. I will taper that to about 80 to fit the screen. I have been told this is probably one of the best screens you are going to get in this price range and it is good to get a good screen if your projector is not the best. I also told them that this was a 3d PJ and gave them all of the specs. They did the calculations for me /pirate.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':pirate:' /> I hate math. My 3d kits arrived this morning as well as a logitech z5500 5.1 surround and my new xf-fi card. Sweet bliss. Shame im having to work today and then the family thing after work. Seems like Ill be free to play sometime after 12:00 am. Looks like it'll be a long night.

Ill post back when I get that screen up and tell you guys how it works. (Fingers Crossed) /pirate.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':pirate:' />

Not true. I told them that they drop down to about 750 in 3d. They told me that 1.5 will still be more than enough. /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Plus it is a super quality screen that usually retails for about 720!

1.5 is only enough to compensate for the brightness loss that happens ~800 hours, when the bulb starts to show its age. So thats definately not cool.

How much brightness loss are you expecting at 800 hours? And if this is the case and brightness is so low after 800 hours I will either buy a new PJ or just get a new bulb. But @ 800 hours the bulb should not be that dim dude.

I recently got same projector, i just painted a big square on my wall matte white, works out about 80" screen.

And i dont notice any trouble with brightness at all, but then i havent seen it on one of these high gain screens so im used to it the way it is.

I saw it myself, its 20-30%. As if you turn on eco mode right now ( BLAAAAAAAAA)

Good commercial choice seems to be either silver or da lite hi power, or diy variants ( yes , exists ).

Well I have all my S%$T hooked up and it was a pain in the butt. Running wires hanging speakers ect, ect. Hanging the Da-Lite screen was actually easier than I thought and it looks AMAZING. Even in a lit room the screen is Pretty bright. When the lights go out it is beautiful. the key is not turning on eco and disabling 3d vision. This PJ is plenty bright. I will say one thing though. If you are planning on using any HDMI at or above 50 ft in length you better get a signal booster or repeater because you cannot get the 120 hrtz or whatever on most of them. I bought a pretty niece one and was frustrated to no end until I figured out it was my length. After I hooked up a shorter cable we were good. 3d is just awesome with a 101" screen.
