3D Vision health problems Any health problems arise from frequent use of 3D Vision?
So I received my 3D vision kit + monitor 2 days ago and have been having a blast so far. Was wondering though about possible health issues that may arise from 3D Vision. I've read the whole health disclaimer that comes with the documentation, but it just sounds like the sort of thing you'd hear at a cinema before watching a 3D movie, and I imagine there's a world of difference between occasional 3D viewing and regular (often daily) use, so I'm asking you guys about it here, since you've been using 3D vision for some time now.
As is, I have no real health problems to begin with. I'm near-sighted, I wear glasses, but since the Nvidia glasses are explicitly stated to be designed for use with prescription eyewear, I assume there's no problem there. My near-sightedness has been dead-stable since I was 11, so I don't think there's any deterioration there per se. Other than that, I don't have any vision issues, no depth perception problems, no tunnel vision, no cataracts, nothing like that.
Similarly, I haven't experienced any problems with 3D vision so far, aside from slight discomfort when I just started using it. Played Batman Arkham Asylum for 3 hours with some short breaks in between yesterday with 20-25% depth, felt absolutely fine afterwards. No headaches, no double-vision, hallucinations, nausea or anything like that.

apart from that, there has yet to be a single incident (that I know of) on either these or other stereoscopy-related forums where someone says "hey! this 3d stuff damaged my vision!" - the general consensus is that if you are above the age of 6-7 and your settings are not "crazy" you should be fine.

It gave my wife motion sickness (which she suffers from whenever she reads and travels anyway) and I felt well funny the first time I drove after maximising depth. I think both of these are a sign of how cool 3D vision is!
When I looked up the symtoms of eyestrain I realised I probably do suffer it if I am game when I am tired. To be honest I probably do suffer it slightly more than I did before 3D vision but only slightly so.
I found it very hard to play when I lowered the frequency to 100hz, I felt uncomfortable and strangly claustrophobic. 110hz would have been fine apart from the ambient flickering. 120hz is superfine!
I too am short sighted, defo from staring at a screen for so long. Placebo or not my distance vision has improved. I know the retinas are still focusing on the screen but my eyes are tracking distant objects. When I went out on a boat trip to look for whales I forgot my glasses, 2 hours of staring at distant objects later my eyes were much improved...

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Lack of sleep, cause when its good, its sooooo good. You will may experance red eyes the first few times (if you smoke pot disregard as your eyes are red anyways) but this goes away and eyes dont go red anymore after you get use to it. I like watching people who reveiw 3d vision for the first time..............they try not to make eye contact with the camara, funny stuff.

Wait, are you saying your vision has actually improved from it? I thought I noticed something like this today also when I was reading the paper without glasses, but I figured it was just my imagination.

-2233rz : Couldn't get used to it. No chance , really. Gave up after 30-40 min. Tried twice maybe. 90% annoyance, esp. the washed out LCD colors are way below DLP level, resolution hardly makes up for anything.
-Acer PJ :
1. week: eyeballs feel dry, slight tear, then dry , n+1. Definately felt the muscles there started picking up the habit. 60% annoyance.
2.nd : lowered, to 30%, sometimes feels like 2d.
3.rd : feels like 2d. Cool.
Noticed how much of a light eating hog the glasses are, when using LCD, thats because timing is like 25% transparent 75% black.
On DLP its 50 / 50% . This isnt a minor difference...

I would think that's an individual matter. Some people might feel uncomfortable when using it. Personally, I dont like to use it for more than an hour or so. But thats mainly because I dont like to play for more than an hour anyway. Not getting uncomfortable or anything, but I feel thats enough fun. 3DVision or not.
So far I have not noticed any strange symptoms. And as already mentioned by others; most people will get used to it after a while.
If someone have any doubts about it, they should go test it in a store before buying. If it feels terrible I suggest not buying it. After all, some just cant handle it.
But, testing with the usual red/cyan glasses and watching a 3D clip on YouTube is NOT the way to check if you can "handle it".
I tried those paper-glasses and watched a few BluRay 3D movies on my HDTV (not 3D Vision) and I felt drunk after 10minutes. The quality of real 3D Vision is MUCH better and you dont get all the flickering which often occur on converted 3D material. 10 seconds of ok 3D and then a few blinks where the 3D is completely gone due to bad quality. Almost made my head go nuts.
I must say that 3D Vision was even better than I expected, and so far we have only seen the beginning. It will get better. Much better.

When I went out on a boat trip to look for whales I forgot my glasses, 2 hours of staring at distant objects later my eyes were much improved...
