The Witcher 2 in 3D Vision Official thread from NVIDIA

I dont think there is any danger of it dying.
3DVision support might suffer in the short term, but console manufacturers are committed to it AFAIK, once EA and everyone else has to support it in the console space we'll see better support in the PC space.

Really?? Makes me feel like all the negative people about 3d have ruined 3d gaming.
I hope 3d gaming does not die.. But after this announcement by EA.. I have a bad feeling.

Bad Company 2 is the only good use of 3d EA has made, what on earth do they expect? People to love the 3d when they release it when it is crappy and broken?

I have been teaching for 4 years now and I know I know more about teaching than Ed Balls (the previous Minister for Education) ever did. Likewise, I am fairly confident people on these boards are more knowledgeable about 3D than possibly ALL devs working for EA, CDPR, 2K etc. (Unless, of course, one of them is a 3D gamer, which I seriously doubt.) I reckon most devs might have tried a 3D film, gone m'eh like I did and so I consequently doubt most devs would even know what decent 3D looked like unless it punched them in the face shouting I AM NOT A MOVIE GIMMICK DAMMIT!

My oldest game that works in 3D (3D crosshair included) is Project Nomads (2002). When developers leave games alone but provide plently of options most games work in 3D with little hastle. One of my fav games I show people is GTA4. I have to turn off reflection and shadows (cars still have a simple working shadow beneith them), and use simple crosshair. I also have to use SparkIV to edit out the coronas. Once done the game looks great. I demo'd it to the 6th formers at school and all of them were blown away. Dispite no official support from devs 3D skeptic students became excited about gaming in 3D. Now look at Bethesda's current games...

Consequently, I was totally serious when I said I was happy to hear EA have abandonded 3D support!

I highly doubt that, I also don't think 3d in movies is a gimmick unless it is made to be a gimmick (which anything can be a gimmick so the point is rather moot).

When did EA ever truly support 3D in the first place, with adapting convergence and 3D depth perfecting? I have still yet to see a game that adapts convergence to scenes and provides tools to let you set up the games depth to look truly square in proportions.

Besides they will go back in to making 3D just as quick as they did leaving it once a developer shows the scene what a properly optimised game can look like. And like everyone else, all games are made in 3D so it only ever was a matter of tweaking games to run in 3D, not making them for 3D...

I was hoping for 3d support from EA so that games such as Mass Effect 3 and The Old Republic would not have issues with the lens flares and crosshairs like Mass Effect 2 did.
Mass Effect 2 looks beautiful in 3d if it was not for those things that are completely distracting. I think it is such a shame that developers are not on board with pushing 3d.. It adds such a deeper level to gaming.. I find it hard to play games in 2d now.

Indeed, The Witcher 2 is one of those games, once I played with 3D on and it was working I could not even bring my self to having to play it in 2D... so it is still sitting on my SSD waiting to be played past chapter 2 one of these days if/when? it gets fixed. And to think if I was smart and never purchased on release day I could have waited till it was fixed and purchased it then for half the price :(

Last time I ever believe the 3D ready logo!

Hello mate

tritosine2k made a mod that removed the lense flare! I think it is under his older moniker though. If you also look in that thread you will see another setting that removes the fog shadow issues (at the cost of some image degredation)

Typical... I just purchased Crysis 2 thinking that it's been 3 or 4 months from release, surely 3D will be working now... alas it seems the 1.9 patch breaks 3D... Common... is Nvidia graphics leaders or are they not. This 3D investment is becoming a joke now... I was looking at getting a new 27" 3D monitor from Acer... but with current events I may just scrap the whole idea entirely and just go Samsung as that's a better monitor anyway and the fact that it does not have dual link DVI is increasingly not looking like a bad thing anymore...

Buck up your ideas and your partnerships with gamer developers Nvidia or you may loose all you are striving to create in this sector of the market!

That's strange because with the latest beta drivers with all options set to max with motion blur off on a fresh untweaked version of the game, it is so bad that it's not only unplayable to a point you cant make much of anything on the screen out, but it also it gives you terrible eye strain from the moment you start looking at it.

I'll attach a screenshot on another thread as I should not really be continuing this topic here.
