720p on DLP pj can't be compared to LCD at all IMHO. 1000 contrast in DLP3d pj, is like those of E-IPS monitors they are selling now, not the some of those 3d 120hz notoriously bad TN panels. Lol. Then comes the motion resolution. Metro is just great.
Actually Im definately going for 3d vision sorround by the looks of it, 2x 470's should fit the bill.
btw im not sure the fullhd DLP tw is better than native 720p . Because the TV involves half resolution DLP chip to start with, by wobbulation, then checkerboard. These are funny things, let me prefer native 720p and not just because of my slow comp. Im going to run 3d vision sorround too. It will be amazing on pj's. Overall perfomance hit will be similar to fullhd @ 3d or better.
Oh and im not sure the DLP tv has Darkchipâ„¢ , because these 720p's are Darkchip3, actually you can modify it for much better on/off contrast.

[quote name='baragon' post='1056193' date='May 15 2010, 06:18 PM']Metro 2033 is an OUTSTANDING experience using 3DVision!
Metro is perhaps an extreme example of a title with very high gpu requirements (and very high image quality, unbelieveable!) but there are others (BattlefieldBC2, JustCause2).
My current rig using GTX480s SLI overclocked for example results in only 45-55fps (for each eye) in metro 2033 using only dx9, high settings no aa, plays very smooth at these settings. However using dx9 very high subtract 20fps and quite choppy, though the models look incredible . DX10 or dx11 very high give average 30 fps per eye if advanced depth of field off, with some scenes below 20fps per eye, unplayable.
Turning on advanced Physx decreases framerate by only about 5-6fps but this is enough to hurt playability.
I am running on somewhat older platform QX9650 but very overclocked and METRO2033 is not very CPU dependent according to some benchmarks by others, therefore I don't think I'm seeing cpu bottleneck.
Most other games run very well in 3DVision with just one GTX400 card. Bioshock2 runs very good using one card, the current SLI profile for GTX400 is not working for this game and apparently for some others (jUST CAUSE2 ran much better using my 2xGTX285s , a GTS250 for Physx and older drives for example).
I am pulling about 720watts from wall during intense gameplay, temps max at 94C for lower card with fans on auto which are only slightly louder than GTX285s + dedicated physx.
Overall I'm very happy with the GTX480s and expect performance will improve with 256 drivers.

Hi,
I have almost the same configuration you have (790 ultra sli [mind you there is a P09 bios!], and X9650 at 3.7GHz with 2 GTX 480 in SLI) on Acer GD245HQ at 1920x1080.
The game is very quick, despite PhysX ON and on DirectX10 (on 11 I get no 3D - who knows why).
However I just started playing, so if you let me know where the FPS drops I can check. Moreover pls tell me how to display FPS in Metro2033 (is there a console like in FarCry2?)

See Csaba ,you dont have an evga card, because you would already use evga precision... Cheers from Hungary!

Haha, yeah well, both AfterBurner and Precision produce de-sync when running in the background with 3D Vision enabled. As of right now, FRAPS is the only way to go.

HM, what does that mean ? The only thing I notice is that convergence remains locked down, after a nice ctrl+f6 rally. Everyone must hack that config file for convergence.

What de-sync problem? I am using the latest version of Afterburner on my EVGA cards and don't see any issues that I am aware of.
