No. Fraps is fine. Its when your encoding. You need to resize. Like you are recording at 3840x1080 Youtube only accepts 1920x1080. So you reencode to 1920x1080 and then you want to click *stretch* so it fits full screen otherwise it tries to maintain the 3840x1080 ratio [32:9]

I have two good friends visiting from the UK tomorrow staying till sunday, so may be rather silent until then. Please continue any ideas without me, as there are some really good new entries today. Any one that wan't to help, you need not ask permission, you are already cordially invited. P.S. for anyone who thinks or has said it's a long shot, of course it is.... But will be a bloody enjoyable journey whatever the outcome ;-)

@skaut NP. Pm me if you need any help. 3d videos arent really that hard once you know what to do. Its only really one extra step. One piece of advice is. Keep in mind that everyone isn't using your "display". If your a monitor user record at half depth imo. This way its more compatible for other sizes.

I agree that a monitor is probably a better idea (even though I have no doubt that a projector is nicer), as there's more chance that he's actually try it. Setting up a projector has the impression of being a big job that a guy like him may be too busy to bother with. A monitor also seems much less niche and more commercially viable form of 3D There's also a chance that KL is absolutely sick to death of seeing Bioshock Infinite, since he's probably played through various portions of it a million times. I'd suggest bundling another game in the package as a backup. Something like Witcher 2 that is 3D Ready out of the box, so that he knows that excellent 3D is possible from the developer's end, and doesn't require crazy-clever modders like Helix. Great idea overall, by the way. EDIT: Airon, I totally didn't get the tongue-in-cheek nature of your first post ( I still don't really get it). Maybe edit in a smiley or something, as at the moment, I think it would look like a pretty negative comment to most outsiders, which kinda looks bad since the first post explicitly asked that people play nice.

I regret nothing! I'm doubling down. Besides that it's too small a thing and it's not like it's laced with vulgarity. This thread isn't intended for outsiders anyway, is it? As far projector vs monitor, I certainly believe that a projector provides the better experience, and in that sense it's a superior option. But more practically, I'm worried about how that would complicate the set up. They would need a screen (or white wall) and know how to set depth correctly. They might also get the impression that it's good because it's a projector, or that it's only good on a projector. Give them a monitor, and while it might be less impressive, there's less room for error.

My main concern is that if it was a projector, it mightn't even come out of the box, but would gather dust in somone's office. Or that it would be given to the coffee boy, because KL has better things to do on the weekends than fooling around setting up convoluted hardware that he didn't ask for. For example, my Oculus Rift Prototype devkit arrived 2 weeks ago, and it's still sitting unopened in the corner of my room, and is looking like it will probably sit there a few more, until I feel I have time to set it all up.

I agree, it needs to be easy enough not mess up, but also easy enough for them to decide it's worth their time to try it.

You wanna know how to get Ken Levine to pay attention? Get press involved, make an appointment to meet with Ken with the press tagging along, deliver it by hand and stay to help him set it up and play, press covers the event. Bioshock and Ken get free publicity which is worth more to him that an hour of time and a free monitor. If he says positive things with the press around all the better.

mho?, I think overall the idea is great, but from a business perspective, if I were him, I would have given the same response, then have someone or me take a look at the contract I signed and the amount of the check, that put the "Gaming Evolved - AMD" at the beginning of the game. I love this because of the 3D, but there are tough decisions when you have owners that want dividends. I'd still follow up in a month, or whenever, and help where I'm able.

Here is my best idea, and the part that I think I can do. It seems to me that we are all on the same track, it must be easy to see/setup or the likelihood of remaining boxed is high. They aren't motivated to see it, and we need to somehow give them motivation. The game is set in 1912 right? And one of the big entertainments of the time was 3D. Yes, I kid you not. No TV right? Barely radio. Here's what I just won on eBay: Yessss... Stereoscopic projector of the era. Now, we can make up stereocards for this baby from the game. Should be easy to print out on photo stock the right format/size/shape/depth. It will take me a little while to get everything lined up and work out the right settings, but it seems like this has a chance of breaking the attention bubble. I envision shipping this with good shots on top, so you see Elizabeth in a stereocard as soon as you open the box. Everyone knows how these work, and since it's as easy as putting a card in the viewer, I think that at least someone will take a look, and then hopefully take it to KL and say "you gotta see this." What do you think?

Is that so you can view side by side images? Well tech. you are the only one who can do it. Everyone would give you screenshots from there display. Im not sure which size "display" you'd use but you would have to test depth hacks till you find it. Its cool but I imagine it will have a lot of trial and error till you find out.

Yep, they are simply side-by-side, not sure if the lenses cross the eyes, so which is L/R. Here's an example: That will be the part that will take some experimenting and research to find out what 'depth' they used to use, and what makes sense. I know you can slide the bar further or closer, but I'm not sure what parameter that is changing just yet. If I get something sensible, I'll ping you all here to look for your best, most compelling, screenshots.
