The Witcher 2 in 3D Vision Official thread from NVIDIA

Anyone complaining at this point about nVidia seems to be missing the fact that nVidia HAS SPOKEN and stated that the problem is on the other end. For whoever missed it, CDPR is calling an intensive function to check whether 3DV is enabled every single frame. That needs to be changed on their end, not nVidia's end.
That being said, one has to wonder why they (nVidia)couldn't put the function on an internal lockout within the driver so that it bounces back immediately if the function has been called in the last few seconds instead of doing whatever takes so damn long to begin with.

Well would be nice to play Witcher 2 in 3D because the game really is beautiful in it. I had given up on release and figured it would get fixed with time. Saw the new drivers were out and decided to check in on things. Good to know it is a problem on CDPRs end. Hopefully next patch they can fix the problem. Got Alice to play in 3D now to occupy me. What an amazing game that is.

Its bs in my opinion to shove over all responsibility to CDPR. Its Nvidias 3D ready logo that is on the box! Considering how broken the game is in 3D they could not even have tested it before they slapped it on the box. If the game is broken Nvidia should do everything in their power to push the problem. Considering the lack of feedback or response they barerly seem to care. One thing is sure from this, i will never look at the "3D ready" stamp again as anything significant, its sure has lost its credential to lots of people by now.

CDPR may be the culprit, but nVidia is equally guilty of not even checking the product to see if their label was rightfully used.
It's extremely probable that CDPR didn't have time to send a working copy to nVidia for QC, seeing how many bugs the game has (they probably went into gold phase well before they had finished the finest tests), but that only means that nVidia didn't bother to ask the publisher to postpone the game release date. CDPR had already bought the label, and noone really cared about the game anymore.
That's a shame, though, because things like this are what tarnishes a reputation.

IDK if this was already say (not reading 32 pages XD)
But i think i got a nice augment of my FPS on my GTX580 by changing this on the Nvidia control panel:
(I think in English this option is like "Graphic card electric power settup" or something like that)
And turn it from Automatic mode to High performances on "witcher 2.exe" (C:\Program Files (x86)\The Witcher 2\bin\witcher2.exe)
Well i feel pretty sorry for us 3d vision fans. One thing is for sure, nvidia and cdproject dont care much for us poor folks. The only way they are going to listen to us is if someone actually sue them for false advertising but i don't see that happening

Every now and then I like to check in on the FAQ they have running for the Witcher 2 over at http://en.thewitcher.com/support/faq/.
There is STILL no mention OR acknowledgement of any 3D vision issues there.
Maybe that means they are not aware of the problem.
Maybe they only post things on the FAQ they actually have a solution for.
Either way - it doesn't look good for us suckers that paid for a 3D vision ready game.
It should be interesting when they finally open their forum ... can anyone guess what Sticky #1 will be?

I figure the only way this is going to get fixed in any timely manner is if we all start officially entering in bug reports on CDPR's support page here: http://www.en.thewitcher.com/support/
Like it or not, the number of 3D Vision users pales in comparison to the number of traditional users. We are a minority. They will not focus on fixing bugs that affect a minority unless we also submit a large amount of bug reports and make ourselves heard as a majority. We have to try.
Out of curiosity .. how many of us actually submitted a trouble ticket to CDPR?
Absolutely everyone? I hope.
