Nvidia 3D Vision n00b question Wondering about the glasses working with discover
I've been trying out 3D games now with some old 3d glasses from my Shreck 2 3D glasses and I've noticed that games have cyan/red tints to them. Meaning that I can't see a full range of color just basically red and blue.
I assume this is normal. I was wondering a couple of things:

1. If I buy some of the Nvidia discover glasses, well I notice an improvement in the visual quality of games or am I still going to see everything in red/blue?

2. If I were to buy the Nvidia 3D vision glasses kit do they work with Discover or do they only work with Vision?

1. If I buy some of the Nvidia discover glasses, well I notice an improvement in the visual quality of games or am I still going to see everything in red/blue?

A: depends on what match the glasses are to the screen in colour, the official discover glasses might be a more 'correct' colour, but probably not much difference.

2. If I were to buy the Nvidia 3D vision glasses kit do they work with Discover or do they only work with Vision?

A: The powered glasses only work with the full 3dVision setup, the discover glasses only work with 3d discover :)

Any sort of Anaglyph glasses (red/blue, red/cyan, blue/yellow, etc) will distort the color, there is no way around it. You are simply looking through colored lenses. However, the 3D effect can be enhanced (less crosstalk) if you have glasses that perfectly match the Anaglyph system. For example, maybe your Shrek glasses use a different shade of blue/cyan that nvidia's discover glasses, so getting the discover glasses would give a slightly better 3D picture, though still with distorted colors (I don't know if this is true, just an example).

If you want correct color, you will have to go with the full setup.

Thanks guys, that answered my questions. A while ago I almost bought the Nvidia 3D vision set because my Samsung is 120hz, but then I found out that it only upscales so I'd still have to by a new TV or monitor. I'm thinking about waiting till they make a 32inch 3D TV.
