It's surprising that nvidia's marketing is doing such a stellar job of shooting nvidia in the foot. That tom's hardware piece was cringe-worthy - I genuinely thought it might be satire for a time.
They are currently on top, and are releasing something which no one disagrees are the fastest cards in the world, and their closest competitor doesn't have an answer to it for maybe years to come. Yet nVidia feels that it needs to pull this BS.
Not surprised with all the negative publicity.
I don't believe I've ever seen Sora on this forum before, though I could be mistaken. I wonder if he even uses 3DV. He seems to be active on the forum 24/7 - Between his fanboy posts and his huge signature with nvidia related junk links obviously trying to compensate for something, I wouldn't be surprised if he is sponsored by NVidia in some way. Just this morning I was reading about Amazon making an army of employees say nice things about it on twitter:
https://www.sfgate.com/technology/businessinsider/article/amazon-fb-ambassadors-program-pay-nice-things-13182172.php
Very similar to how the Russians used social media to influence 2016 American elections, as well as attempts to influence the upcoming midterms:
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/oct/30/facebook-russia-fake-accounts-126-million
Or curtail any criticism of Israel:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_Internet_Defense_Force
There are very likely many more examples from countries and organisations, both overt and covert, that have not yet been discovered.
It looks like people being compensated in some way to pretend to be a part of a group discussion so they can insidiously influence opinion is the new norm for the world.
I am reminded of Brandolini's law: "The amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it."

I was using 3D stereo before 3DV was a concept, the gimmick faded long ago and the entire concept of 3D and VR don't appeal to me in the form it is in.
Nvidia employee's have to identify themselves before making comments on social media or forums, and there has not been any active programs that i've been aware of since ChrisRay passed away, so to my knowledge the only company actively shilling is AMD who does keep such a program open, and has employee's posting undeclared on social media / forums.
nvidia sponsorships are all above board and properly advertised for those who want to identify who is and isn't.
Someone who is sponsored and declared as such as responsibilities to the sponsoring group, the guy who lost his voided that responsibility.

Nothing about 3D Vision is a gimmick here we are years later and big AAA companies still see importance of adding the feature/compatibility to their titles. Did Nvidia throw it on the back burner over years as far as improvements and progression? Yes
Its still the most immersive and quality image one can get outside of 2D gaming.
Have you played GTAV in 1440P 3D?
Dark Souls 3?
4A Games?
Helix Mods?
Which stereo 3D hardware were you using before 3D Vision was a concept?
I'm curious

I've also experienced Elsa...and no it doesn't touch 3D Vision 2 in comparison.
They've come a long way.
Therefore you are full of shit.
So how about not speaking on 3D Vision if you don't own it???
I gave you a chance but Rage is correct....you're full of it

Only issues the elsa had were driver side, i dropped 3d stereo and any form of taste for 3D during the 3d cinema hype, i don't even play 3DS in 3D because it looks stupid not to mention impossible with a -3 or higher prescription for gasses.
But sure, I'm the fanboy.
oh, I never said I hadn't ever used 3DV btw, i just said it was a gimmick
which it is and always has been hence why you're a minority and get all the driver issues that comes with it.

Sora tell me how 3D vision is a gimmick ?
Magician make gimmicks.
if a technology works as it´s designed it´s not gimmick !
besides you have two eyes what´s the difference of looking at a real world with 2 eyes than into a game with 2 eyes. ultimately you see enough frames per second and you can adjust convergence to match real life.
Only difference is flicker if you use active hardware, and there is alternatives.
3D is only stupid because you did lack proper hardware or was not properly aducated to use it and that´s the bottom line. OR you do not have good stereo vision. It does not make it stupid.
I haven´t game in 2D in 6 years, and why is that. because it´s fucking flat no matter if it´s 4k or 14k

Sora did you mean fad when you say gimmick. Gimmick is a bit harsh if you consider yourself a fanboy.
There are still many dreamers here which keep this alive.
You are stepping on toes. The world is filled with negativity and 3D Vision is a great escape for many.
nVidia burned their fingers badly because they made many poor decisions.
But photo realistic game play is on the horizon.
With this, VR and 4K, the things Helix was talking about before he left might finally become a reality.
Give it 5 more years.
The thing nVidia needs most at this point in time is a VR ready console.
It wont be cheap, but it would bring stereoscopic gaming back.
And like i mentioned before, it shouldn't be limited to a personal based approach. It needs to reach the public audience where middle and lower class people could also experience it.
Instead of focusing on 100 competitive screen manufacturing companies they would go in cooperation with about 3. I believe all they lack are 4K VR headsets. But I guess having 4K VR headset in mass production must be a nightmare. That's why I predict 5 to 10 years. You know James Cameron had his dream for Avatar many years before he finally made it? His reason for not making his movie was because the tech weren't there yet. This is exactly why 3D Vision never made a break through. A while ago some one said the first entry level VR ready GPU should have been the gtx 1070. Simply because it had the adequate power and it didn't cost you and arm or leg. I'm positive that stereoscopic gaming will catch up again. But this time it should be done right from the start.

Depth Perception is a gimmick guys and gals. Time to close up shop and gouge out an eye since it's useless. Evolution got it wrong here. Because some internet troll proved it to us. How dare we use our stereo perception to view content that is already rendered in 3D. /s

I've also experienced Elsa...and no it doesn't touch 3D Vision 2 in comparison.
They've come a long way.
Therefore you are full of shit.
So how about not speaking on 3D Vision if you don't own it???
I gave you a chance but Rage is correct....you're full of it

oh, I never said I hadn't ever used 3DV btw, i just said it was a gimmick
which it is and always has been hence why you're a minority and get all the driver issues that comes with it.

We cant judge you for not taking the red pill. The Nebuchadnezzar only has place for X-amount anyway. Call us minority the Zionists. But at least we are free xD
Do you have some resources?
