samsung d7000 and 3dtvplay cant get 3d to work on samsung d7000
Just a quick post to see wether anyone can help me here.
im trying to get my ued7000 to display 3d blurays. however i seem to be stuck. whenever i try to enable the nvidia 3d it displays an error message "StereoCLAPI returned invalid video mode (1280x720)"
I believe this is an issue with the tv and not nvidia at the moment.
however ive read through the 3dtvplay documentation that i need to setup the tv to allow it. Samsungs crappy documentation says that to allow checkerboard (which i believe nvidia uses i need to "checkerboard [is] available when the resolution is set to pc and the pc is connected through an hdmi cable"
now it seems im not the only one who doesnt have a clue what this bloody well means because ive phoned samsungs support line and they dont know either "as the tv is a display device it cannot change the resolution". no ****.
anyways im assuming someone in the woprld has managed to set this tv up with 3dtvplay as its listed as suported. if anyone could get back to me i would greatly appreaciate it.

just in case im using a gt440 (i know its not listed as supported but im guessing thats not the problem at the moment) i5, 8gig ram ssd blah blah blah

Are you using Rollermod? If you aren't, why do you care about Checkerboard?

If you want to display BD3D, use 3DTV Play for that and forget about Checkerboard. All you need is PowerDVD or other 3D software and play BD3 in frame packing mode = 1080p24hz, forget about Checkerboard for watching bluray3D. Just choose HDMI 1.4 TVs in PowerDVD settings and you'll watch BD3D in 1080p24hz, which is the best mode for 3D movies.

I do not see your TV listed on the 3DTV Play requirement list. http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-system-requirements.html

To get it added, follow the instructions at http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2774

For the cost of Powerdvd, you could just buy a stand alone Blu-ray player. Then you'd aleviate the ongoing headaches that seem to occur when new drivers release and it no longer works until fixed or you roll back to a functioning driver.

Believe me, you will need 3DTV Play for watching BD3D with PowerDVD or Total Media player. Frame packing 1080p24hz is by far the best 3D mode for watching movies, period.
It's the industry standard for bluray3D.
If you're TV is able to use this mode, why you want to downgrade and watch movies in Checkerboard mode which is not full resolution per eye and only works in PC mode which shows washed out colours and less settings compared to video mode.

I also have a Samsung 3DTV and I always use Rollermod for 3D gaming in Checkerboard mode or Generic CRT (using older drivers), but if I want to watch bluray3D using PowerDVD, you can be certain that I will override the rollermod EDID using my TV's original EDID, restart my computer and have 3DTV Play enabled. I know it's a pain in the ass, but I'm all for quality and 1080p24hz FP mode is way better than Checkerboard for movies. I mean, it's hell of a diference...

In checkerboard mode you'll be converting your amazing bluray3D movie to squished resolution just like side-by-side mode or top-bottom. You don't want to do that, you want to watch a true bluray3D, don't you???

If you're having problems to make your 3DTV recognized as a 3DTV Play supported product, let me know and I'll sent you my TV's EDID and you'll have 3DTV Play features. This is very simple, just like using Rollermod.
