First to watch 3D Blurays, you need: - PowerDVD Ultra - A good cable, like HDMI 1.4 - The 3D version of the movie See: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/926968/3d-vision/what-is-the-best-3d-video-player-and-how-to-use-it-/post/4847580/#4847580 .

I had the exact same problem with PowerDVD and Avatar when tried to watch 3D movies for the first time. The menu buttons were in 3D but everything else not. This was because I had a trial version of PowerDVD. It started working after I purchased it.

They should have an overlay stating that the trial version doesn't support 3D. If you are using a display that does not require the use of Nvidia's emitter and glasses, the better option is to buy a stand alone Blu-ray player with 3D play back support or a PS3/PS4. Provided that your display uses a HDMI connection

Sometimes it gives a lot of headaches, but it's worth it for me in the end. But to each their own.

I looked up the legality of converting 3d movies to a format you can watch in your nvidia stereo player, and ...... YOU ARE NOT FREE, so just go crawl into the ground and rot, if you can't afford to pay for yet another piece of software to watch your dvd's and blu-ray's. So when you buy your blu-ray drive or computer make sure it includes a copy of a 3d movie player, now you know why the 3d industry is dead, too many people want their $$$ from the pot. AHEM-BLOCKBUSTER-AHEM Don't say you weren't warned, all you movie studios, with all your D.M.C.A legalieze garbage totally destroying peoples desire to purchase the actual disc. NEXT UP, blu-ray. Then, free movies! good by wb, fox, and all the others.. Hello indian movies on nexflix, and soon, no-name movie makers, who sell it for cheap. Gone will be the days of big movie studios... and all the copy-wrong tech that ruined it all. The future will be all based on popularity, content, free... with advertisements. In the same way most websites are basically free to visit, with advertisements. Its your own fault bollywood, you ruined it all with your own legalieze... You "ruled" yourselves into a grave corner.

I did, And I also then looked up the recent ruling on the rights of people (what rights?) when it comes to watching their own movies, and after reading about it... We have no rights to do anything with our dvd's or blu-rays, so unless you pay some rich company their slave money for the hardware or software player, you can't watch your movies in 3d on your pc or 3d tv. So there is no way to watch a dvd or blu-ray movie with opensource or free software, i guess. (this includes the NVIDIA 3D Vision Video Player. Now that I know this I am just not going to buy any movies anymore.... the morons wrecked their own industry,.. thats ok, let them die. So I will change my post. But it looks liek it will take a day or more to get my stuff not hidden...

Just spitballing here... are you watching the extended version? The opening sequence isn't in 3D... meant to give you the WOW effect when it kicks in (like The Wizard of OZ)

My suggestion, if you have enough HDD space: use MakeMKV to get a DRM-free ".mkv" file, and then play it with Stereoscopic Player (using the Nvidia license to unlock the time limit) or sView. I used Power DVD years ago and I didn't like it.
