Words of Wisdom please
Hey guys, hoping that I could get some words of wisdom from some 3d Veterans out there.

I have the Samsung syncmaster 2233rz along with Nvidia's 3d Glasses. Let me first say that I love 3d gaming, I think it's pretty damn amazing and for anyone thinking about buying it I'd say go ahead, it is not perfect but even if you only use it on some games, it can make those games 2x better (for instance i never bothered to play Fear 2 when it came out due to how they ruined it (ie fear 2 felt like it should have been fear 1, and fear 1 felt more advanced than fear 2) but when i got 3d vision, i am now happily playing fear 2 =) Not to mention that the samsung monitor is a great monitor for 2d gaming, very vibrant colors and sharp picture.

Now to state my concerns, I can't quite seem to sit happily with 3d gaming, and the more I keep thinking about it the less I am enjoying it.

1) I've done a bit of forum research, and found that some people have mentioned how dark the screen gets when 3d vision is activated, but not many people mention it. I for one find this to be very distracting, and in some games where bright colors play a big part I find myself electing to play it in 2d instead of 3d. Am I missing something? Does the picture have to get so dark with the glasses on or are there some inside tips on how to make this unfortunate effect less noticeable? Examples would be Fallout 3. Great game, great for 3d, but walking around in the wasteland can be hard with a dark shadow caste over everything instead of it being the bright desert wasteland that it is supposed to be. Also Mount & Blade. Absolutely great game for 3d but I find the the darkness is ruining parts of the game for me.

2) I am wondering if this is the same for all of us nvidia 3d glasses users. When I tilt my head slightly to the right ((bringing the left lense of glasses to be dominate towards monitor)) i find that the left lense of the 3d glasses has a considerable darker tint than the right. If I put the right lense as looking straight at monitor, no change. When I bring left to be in front of the monitor, i find that the entire picture gets darker. Is this normal?

I love 3d gaming and I find myself getting jealous when I read posts about how people play all their games in 3d. I want that feeling to! :) Any tips from 3d veterans on how to improve my 3d experience would be very appreciated, mainly in the darkening of the screen aspect, but in any other area as well! Thank you in advance everyone.

Also I read about how people get excited to have new "profiles" from nvidia through the drivers. Are these profiles simply the message that comes up at the start of a game with tips on how to better do 3d gaming for that game, or am i missing something?

When I was playing in S3D I just increased the gamma in games that were to dark (Including Fallout 3)

First of all try different levels of gamma, brightness, and contrast in the Nvidia control panel.

Turn down digital vibrance..(maybe to about 20%) if that.

Adjust the brightness and contrast of the Samsung monitor until you get comfortable results.

By their nature the shutter glasses are going to make things darker, but you can compensate
by trying what I've mentioned above.

It's honestly not THAT bad.. but I can see how one would be annoyed with it. (Not enough
to give up 3d gaming all together tho)

Have you heard of Iz3d? They have a passive 3d solution that allows for no color, or
light loss.. maybe that would be more to your liking.
