Able to watch 2d - 3d dvd with Nvidia glasses off on PowerDVD 10 Ultra
This seems strange or maybe I have missed something!
But am able to watch 2d - 3d conversion using PowerDVD 10 Ultra but with the Nividia glasses turned off (or should I say no green light on the side of the glasses).
I am currently running Windows 7 Home P, with 2 x GTX 480, Intel i7 930 @ 4.2, latest 258.96 drivers and watch via Acer H5360 (though also have a dell 3008wfp and Samsung 120hz lcd attached too)
I can load up a DVD - enable the 3d vision (the only one I can select to get 3d in PowerDVD 10 in 3d menu is 120hz lcd option - no option that states or allows me to select Nvidia 3d vision - does this option exist in Power DVD 10 menu?)
Glasses turn on fine and can watch the dvd in 3d - then the glasses flicker very slighly & turn off (i.e. green light on them goes out) after a couple of mins but I can still continue seeing the film in 3d no problem - surely the glasses need to be on to watch in 3d or is this how it should be?
PS - the Nvidia 3d emitter on my desk   remains on

wtf
if the emitter light is ON, that means that its sending IR commands
your glasses should sync to those IR commands, and not turn off
maybe they turned off for a second as you looked away ?
the 120hz options is the correct one for 3d vision
Hmmm - I would have agreed with you, but I have checked this and the light remains off on the glasses and I can still see the dvd in 3d (not in games - but just when converting dvd's from 2d to 3d using Powerdvd 10).
So I think the questions reamins open - how can this be?

same here, the glasses work no matter if the greenlight indicator is on or off. And that is not only true for PowerDVD but for all 3D applications.
First I thought WTF? - I must be wrong, but they are definitely working with no green light at all.
do you mean the green light ON THE GLASSES turns off ?
WELL OF COURSE, IF YOU READ THE PDFS THEY COME WITH, IT SAYS THAT THE GREEN LIGHT ON THE GLASSES WILL GO OFF AFTER A BIT TO CONSERVE BATTERY
they will still SHUTTER, i thought you said that the glasses STOPPED SHUTTERING.

Ok - thank you for pointing this out - I did mean the green light on the glasses turn off - had never observed this before switching to the H5360 and Powerdvd 10. I thought it just odd there is a slight flicker (which never happpened when using the Samsung) when the light goes out but then everything is stable when viewing in 3d.
