I just want to hang out in a beautiful stereoscopic world
2 / 2
Sounds like Just Cause 2 would be such a great candidate for Steam Workshop, which makes the process of modding so easy (like they did with Skyrim)
Also, is the 'unlock everything' necessary since the official release of the MP mod? (i heard that everything in multiplayer has $0 cost)
Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone has recommendations for a stereoscopic 'game' where I can hang out/live in a beautifully-rendered world.
Trine 2 is my top recommendation when you want to impress someone with 3D. It's a sidescrolling game but I've never see such care to details in 3D.
Please take a look and tell me your impression.

Trine 2 is the first game I show someone when I want to introduce 3D. Never fails to blow people away. Instant converts.
Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

I tried the CtrlAltStudio viewer for Second Life and it works great with 3D Vision!
I'm surprised it's not on the official Nvidia list because I would rate it as Good to Excellent (you get occasional halos but everything renders at the correct depth)
I visited a land with dinosaurs, a neo-tokyo city (with cars you can race), and even sat in a virtual cinema with a dozen other people where they showed HD versions of the latest Hollywood films.
So fun - I highly recommend it!

(it also works with Oculus Rift)
(unfortunately ALT-F1 is not working in the viewer so I can't take a screenshot)

Thanks, but doesn't Assassin's Creed "force" the game on you? This thread is about games where you can hang out or "live" in a world without having gameplay imposed upon you.

Does this allow me to defend the animals against the hunters? :)
You should check out this online game called TERA online. Most georgous graphics in a game I have ever seen. Even just looking at the water physics is simply amazing. That's the only game I've played where I've gotten my breath taken away whenever I go to a new area, from the lush forest setting, to the hidden forest lakes, to the beach, to ancient ruins, and to frozen icy lands, high mountain cliffs etc. Really detailed and beautiful.
You may or may not like the game itself, but if you're talking about scenery, this game definitely has it. In fact, before you posted-- I was already planning on using the OR dk2 (if it ever comes out) just to chill out in TERA.

I suppose it kind of does. In AC, there are gameplay "chapters" which constitute a guided storyline. I suppose you'd have to work through some of them. On the other hand you can also take "time off" and do other things that aren't directly story related, like seeking treasures, scaling monumental buildings, invest in shops, buy paintings, race other characters across rooftops, pickpocket people ;). But what I really meant is that especially the urban environments are rendered beautifully and together with a great soundtrack it's very atmospheric.

Thanks for the tip - I didn't know this game had gone Free 2 Play!
