I am not happy at all with this game myself. It runs VERY poorly for me compared to BC2 and looks cartoonish. It also feel like CoD in its mechanics. BC2 felt so different and realistic compared to CoD. I've only played for 20 minutes so far and my K/D ratio is like .3 maybe because of this. HC is wayyy more HC than BC2. One round and you drop to the ground. Just like real life I suppose. Not liking it so far but maybe with some more hours it will get better.

That's simple. U lose, because u don't know maps yet. :)
All I know is the sights on the guns need to be adjusted. Until that is done the game is unplayable in 3D in my mind. Performance issues aside; this is the one major issue.
It just needs to be pushed forward a bit.
It looks ****ing sick in 3D, I hope they take the time to do that.

Think alot of us are in the same boat, the ones that are generally happy with bf3 running performance are not using gtx580's which I'm really starting to suspect this is the problem.
I'm really hoping it is a simple driver issue thus a fairly quick fix is on the way on the next release of nvidia drivers,
Strange no andrew@nvidia input, maybe he's on holiday? Would be nice to see if they can replicate the problems in house.
Would be great for some feedback if your around ??????
I don't have loads of stuff on my machine but what I do have ( iracing / b2bc / rfactor / mafia2 ) I run maxed out in 3d vision surround no problems
With bf3 I know something's not right when I turn off the graphical options that can be & run the others on the lowest and it makes pretty much no diference to performance,
Even switching to single screen only provided a minimal increase in fps ( all tests whilst 3d vision was on, I prefer not to play in 2d anymore )
Looking at bf3 in 3d though and it really looks phoniminal, I'd happily make an exception and run on lower settings for smooth gameplay with this title although I've never had to sacrifice shadows/details before

Yeah sadly the ability to adjust convergence would be able to fix this crosshair/ADS problem very easily, and probably give more per-object depth in the process. I'll probably hold off on the campaign until Convergence controls are patched in or maybe wait for Kepler as I know I would much rather play this game at full 60 FPS per eye rather than the ~40 I'm getting now.

Unfortunately it sounds like this does not work or have any impact on Convergence, judging from the comments. Sitting in a SWTOR queue atm, but may try messing with it later.

i've updated Battlefield 3 to patch 2, after update in the main menu was added "enable stereo effect" but nothing happend when i switch stereo on... i've read few pages of this topic, but did not found that somebody had the same situation.

With 460 1GB SLI I'm also getting pretty terrible performance. I was getting 90+ percent GPU utilization on both cards in 2D and minimum 40fps with everything on Ultra settings, now with 3D on MEDIUM settings I get anywhere from 50-80% and I'm lucky to even hit 40fps at all, and it's very erratic at that. Certainly something is not right here (on top of the crosshair and convergence issues).

What FPS were you getting in 2D? What's your GPU utilization and FPS in 3D? A single 580 is probably not enough to play this game at playable levels in 3D, but we're talking about poor utilization on 2 and 3 card set-ups, which would be a sign of driver issues. A single GPU running at 100% utilization and getting poor framerates in this game doesn't tell us anything other than a single GPU isn't enough to play this game in 3D Vision at high framerates, which really wouldn't be much of a surprise since a single 580 only gets ~50FPS with Ultra settings in 2D.

Finally got around to testing. Here are the results.

If you want to get convergence to work, try adding this line in regedit.exe
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo 3D
Here:
StereoConvergenceEnable REG_DWORD 0x00000001 (1)
This seems to do the trick here for me and it looks like they didn't finish the 3D Vision. The shadows are not rendered at the right depth. Almost 3D Vision Ready... The motion blur works though.
Hopefully we can find a way to get the shadows to work...
EDIT: You might have to change "StereoVisionConfirmed" to 0 as well.

Mate I'm sick to death of these driver issues with these high end games. BF3, Batman AC, JC2, etc all these games require gpu usage to be in the 90+% mark to run at 60fps with all settings on high. same problem with crysis 2 dx11.
stereo service stopped -> always 97-99 % gpu usage
stereo service running -> 75-85 % gpu usage (rapidly fluctuating) -> poor framerate, stutter
it took nvidia a year to fix gpu usage in lost planet 2 dx11. but tesselation is broken now. the huge monster in the benchmark is flickering.

This did not work for me. Have you actually tried it yourself?
