Would you guys please try to debug the issue with 3DM not running on AMD? I cannot release my mod when it's only working on nVidia.
Hmm.. last I checked this was an Nvidia forums and the wrapper was developed on NVIDIA HARDWARE! No offence but AMD should STICK TO CONSOLES and let PROPER GPUS to others (or was that Intel?!?!?! Oh wait...Intel does make so-called GPUS doesn't it ^_^) ;)
No one here has AMD GPUs to even test it on...I've seen all the discussions on github though and from my POV this issues should be ignored... Now before you bash me or whatever, you should release your MOD as it is and state that it works ONLY on Nvidia GPUS.
3D Vision as a matter of fact is different in all regards to AMD HD3D (and Tridef) so I am not even sure what you are targeting... (and the wrapper/hooker was developed on nvidia drivers + hardware so...)
I don't think currently having the wrapper working on AMD hardware is a priority TBH as it was an experiment in the first place... (but I could be wrong as I am not actively developing it).
So...now you can "headshot" me ^_^ ;)

This was working at one point, right? If you can do a bisect on the changes since then, getting it narrowed down to what changed, that would really help.

It was working but only for a guy who had nvidia card and recently switched to amd, so he had nvapi.dll present in the system folder. The fix should be relatively easey as you already know where the problem lies if you looked at my issue report on github.

Your attitude is unacceptable.
First of all 3DM is not just a 3D fixer. Secondly it runs on amd, no problems, as long as it can find nvapi.dll. Lastly I own a Radeon card and yes I bought it just for this purpose, to find out why it's failing for some and working for others.
If it's not your priority, fine, if you want it to be just a 3D fixer.
Mind you, we've spent almost a year developing a graphical mod for Dirt 3 and If I knew 3DM was limited to nvidia cards and It will never be fixed I wouldn't even bother starting it.

And why is my attitude so unacceptable? Because I spoke my mind? I don't think adding specific code for AMD drivers is required in 3DMigoto and only adds "blotware" to an already complicated piece of software. Also, for the record, 3DMIGOTO was developed for 3DVISION by Ciri (original creator) and it was targeted at nvidia hardware. But what do I know... I'm just a "3D fixer"...
If you are clearly so interested in this, why don't you do it? The full source if available on GitHub.
I would recommend making a branch and keep the code separate between AMD and Nvidia version...

So I'm a fanboy because we are actually on the Nvidia forums (in the 3D Vision section for that matter) and you are asking people on the nvidia forums to fix a piece of software for AMD cards on the Nvidia forums, that was developed for Nvidia drivers and Nvidia hardware ???
Like I said, no one here has AMD hardware. How are we supposed to debug something we can't reproduce? I already told you, since you bought an AMD card for this purpose, to try and fix it yourself. The full source code is on GitHub. Built it and debug it on your machine where you can easily reproduce the issue...
I am not even sure why you are interested in 3DMigoto in the first place now... Your mod does what exactly? swap shaders for some effects or something?

I've rewritten about 200 shaders so far, and replaced a shitload of textures. Our mod is atm about 5GB in size uncompressed. My shaders mods change the visual aspect of the game. They add or fix what Codemasters screwed up. Now I'm working on adding screenspace reflections. I would't like it to go to waste.

Wow! That is pretty impressive! And sounds like a ton of work went into it! And I can totally understand why you want it to target as many platforms as possible!
I had a quick idea related to the problem though: If the wrapper is looking and works if Nvapi.dll is present, what happens if (on a machine without nvidia drivers) you copy the nvapi.dll from an nvidia driver and put it next to the wrapper?
The nvapi.dll that comes with 3DM is a proxy. I think you can swap it with a "real" one.
While this is not a fix, this workaround should work;)
(Since it was reported to work on a PC where nvapi was present which means 3DM is looking for it but not actually using it nor does the Windows Os).

Really awesome! Glad to have helped! Now this actually is interesting as well because it can help debugging the problem! I think 3DM is looking for Nvapi.dll and see if it can pick it up or not.
If is not present at all, I am unsure what happens or how much 3DM relies on Nvapi.dll (Except for the Stereo/Convergence, etc functions).
But this workaround should be helpful for the time being;) Nothing to worry about;) Sometimes I do the same I am getting so deep into the problem that I am failing to see the easiest solution to a problem ^_^
