Assuming the HDD has a warranty, take that. USB 2.0 won't be a problem.

Yeah, go for the hard drive. Depending upon the thumb drive, it won't even transfer at 3.0 speeds anyway. I haven't looked recently, but in general you have to pay more to get high-speed flash drives. More to the point, you don't need speeds faster than a slow HD drive anyway. For your connector question, those are Component connectors, not Composite connectors. The connectors are usually tagged with Red, Blue, Green, (White, Red are for audio left/right). As compared to the Yellow connector for Composite. Composite is awful, and you would not be happy. Component is terrific and you cannot tell the difference between it an HDMI. Here's the connector for 360 that you need (it supports both component and composite by a switch on the side):

You could also try this: http://tversity.com/ Can stream almost anything over network. Dunno if it would work in your situation, but it has a free version you can try out. I've used it quite often, and I've successfully streamed 3d HD content over it through my xbox 360 and ps3. However, I concur that a good external hard drive is the way to go.

I believe this might be what you're looking for ... S-Video (MDIN7) to 3-RCA Component Cable for Infocus Projector: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10235&cs_id=1023506&p_id=3044&seq=1&format=2 ... I can't get a good look at the MDIN7 connector, but I presume the 7 stands for 7 connectors like the one you have pictured ... then again the diagram shows 3 connections on the other end and the picture shows 4.

That link is more like it- I'll have to get back there today and take a closer look. The only info I've got is from the diagram pictured above which is pretty generic even though it came from the inst. manual and they just call it a "Component Adapter".Which as you can imagine brings up millions of differing results on Google. But it would be nice if they were the price you listed in that link. Maybe I can stick my phone back there a get a good enough pic. I don't know ... the diagram above makes the end that goes into the TV look like an RCA plug but the diagram in the manual for your TV makes it look like a 3.5mm 'headphone' plug, most likely with 4 'contacts' (red/green/blue/ground for the component one and yellow/white/red/ground for the composite one). ... reminds me of the wires that usually come with camcorders. http://www.amazon.com/Composite-GR-DF430US-GR-DF450US-GR-DF470US-GR-DF550US/dp/B003V8XSU2 if it is you should be able to get away with using 1 or 2 of those depending on your needs, you'll just have to figure out which colors equal which colors. If the composite wire matches the diagram in the manual and the diagram is correct, then: Yellow = Red White = Blue Red = Green ... just noticed that the wire above has male ends and you need female ends, maybe add something like this. You those are them, just had my wife pull it off the wall (am disabled) for me so I can look. But then it hit me... Why not just use the HDMI on the xbox 360? lol And for the DVR... The TV has a built in DVR output...since I opted for the external HDD (just bought an enclosure + a 2.5" 500Gb HDD) I could use that in place of an external DVR unit and save some space. Will move the DVR into the bed room which now had my old TV (samsung 42") and use it there. I'm still going to order at least 1 set of those adapters though...just in case. Thanks again bro! Oh; and I found an AWESOME site for clean 1080p 3d movies (MP4). They're side by side but convert flawlessly. (can't list the site on these forums though...pm)

There is an XBox to VGA cable too. But, yeah, if you don't mind using an HDMI that's going to be a lot easier. Only super old XBox don't have HDMI available. The cables being shown on the back of your box don't match the instruction manual. It can't be an RCA connector there, those only have two wires, and you need at least 4. @TsaebehT: That Red/White/Yellow connector is for composite and Audio. With the 7 pin round connector, there are too many possibilities for screw ups- be sure to get the Red/Green/Blue one if you get one.

BTW, according to the manual here (p.24): http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-55LM6700# That cable comes with the TV. It is the one that TsaebehT found, with what looks like a stereo audio jack on one end. If you use HDMI you can also play the few XBox games that are stereoscopic in 3D on the TV too. XBox has side-by-side output for some games.
