720p, even doubled for 3d mode, has less pixel to draw than 1080p, even in 2d. So no way it shouldn't reach 60fps+.

I already tried changing the convergence in there to 25.0000000 but it would seem that 20 is the maximum.

You need to set it to something ridiculous to see a difference in gameplay. Its wierd, I dont really recommend increasing convergence. Like in battle convergence is at 40%. In cinematics its like 80%. On start screen its at 100%. So if you want to higher in battle convergence, you will mess up and make cinematic convergence too high. If you are going to play multiplayer, you can go for it. Otherwise I wouldnt recommend it.

I haven't had any crashes in 3D with this game and I just started Chapter 4. I am on the the 301.42 drivers and have everything in game maxed out on DX11. I did disable MSAA and left FXAA only since the framerate hit wasn't worth the minimal AA improvement, especially in 3D. I noticed at the bottom of the settings page that MSAA added a lot to the VRAM usage so I am wondering if that is causing some people to have the crashes. This is on 2x680GTX cards by the way.
As for the game, it think it looks fantastic in 3D. It's nice to get a game that works great in 3D Vision as advertised after some of the recent disappointments we have had.

Due to driver schedules, our current driver lists the game as Not Recommended, which is an error.
Our next driver release will correct the 3D Vision rating to 3DVision Ready.
When playing Max Payne 3 in 3D, we recommend using SSAO and FXAA (MSAA off) for the best experience.

I'm so glad to hear this.
I'm on chapter 7 now which is so far the most good looking level I've encountered (considering its a bright level, little to no ghosting)
I'm really hoping the constant changing off convergence issue gets fixed.
It looks absolutely insane when its correctly adjusted ( I always use max depth :)
Also I'm only running on 720p (Panasonic 50' plasma)
It just gets so annoying having to correct the freakin convergence everytime u die or reach another small cutscene.
while I'm at it, let me address another small issue.
It is not exactly that bad.
The reticle to my suprise works perfectly, except sometimes when u aim at something and i think another object stands almost in the way of it (hard to explain)
the reticle becomes doubled (or call it double vision if u will... lol)

VT20b uk model, and evga GTX580 only 1.5gb though :(
Mostly use the sony 3d headset for 3d nowadays, the ghosting bugs me on the tv.
Waiting on the next again range of cards before upgrade, thought the 680 was going to be midrange and a higher end would have came out by now, not to be though.

I ran Max Payne in DX 10 with 3D & as of yet have no problems (1280*720 res. for projector).
Just pure awesomeness.
I haven't even tried DX 11 as of yet because the game looks & plays so amazing anyway I forgot.
So MaxPayne3 + 3D= EPIC is a statement I 100% agree with. Thank you NVidia and as always Rockstar games rocks!
(Quad Core, too much RAM, GTS 450)
Scratch that, I just read you're actually supposed to run 3d in DX 11 mode and I tried it out briefly and it seemed just fine and it looked a little better to.

Everyone keeps talking about how great this game is in 3d vision. Its only good in bullet time and cut scenes for me.
The motion blur kills you everytime you turn it kills your eyes. If i could just disable this one feature it would be flawless.
Have tried disabling every setting and vsync on and off, solid 60 fps and same problem. If you look without the glasses you can see the images separate and then come closer as you slow down turning.
Developers or someone please tell me how to disable this one effect so this amazing game will be perfect in 3d vision. And I am not talking about the normal blurring effect in the game and cutscenes, those look fine. Please help!
I am using 3dtv play, which I hope is not the difference. I have had this same problem in other games, like Street Fighter x Tekken, and after disabled, no more blurred vision.
My other specs are an i7 at 4.5, 32 gigs ddr3, gtx 590, running latest 301.42 drivers. Im playing on a 14 foot projector screen, which I also hope isnt causing the issue, however I have never had any issues with any other games in 3d.
Andrew, can you help me?
PS Off subject: By the way, I just registered although I have been around a long time. Would like to send special thanks to Helix, eqzitara, and Mana84, and all the others out there fixing so many games. Helix thanks for making this possible.
