3d vision nvidia IR Emitter not detected by windows or 3d setup. Blinking red light *HELP*
Hey guys I've just bought a 3d vision glasses kit. but when I plug either the glasses or the IR emitter into the USB, windows doesn't do the device connected 'ding' noise, and the 3d vision setup doesn't detect the emitter. Neither device is listed in windows device manager or devices and printers. When the glasses are plugged in they charge fine When the emitter is plugged in, the on/off switch flashes white for a split second, then sits there with a flashing red light. I'm using the latest release 353.30 have reinstalled drivers with everything unplugged, I have reinstalled drivers with everything plugged in. I always do clean install. Same problem every time. I'm running windows 7 i7 950 x64 geforce gtx 470 3d vision glasses kit Can someone help?

Are you connected directly to a USB port on the PC, or via a hub?

It's also worth mentioning that the GTA 470 will struggle to run games in 3D. You basically have to render 120 frames per second for a smooth experience, 90 being a minimum for a half-decent experience.

Directly to the motherboard. I've tried a usb 3 and usb 2 port on the motherboard, and the usb 2 and usb 3 port in the front panel of the case. All other usb devices work fine. I won't be sticking with the 470. I'll upgrade if I can get this thing working.

You need to have the emitter connected while installing Nvidia's Drivers. If you have done so, try again using DDU (Direct Driver Uninstaller) If you are using Vista, use a driver prior to 313. What display are you using?

What is DDU? Do you have a link? I'm using windows 7 My display is an Acer GD245HQ 120hz I have a 660ti in another computer, so I can put that card in this box, or I can move this screen to the other computer and see if the 3d vision gear works on that setup?

The glasses won't show up as a USB device, the USB plug is solely for charging. The fact that the USB pyramid does not show up in the Device Manager, even with a yellow ! symbol is bad. That means there is a hardware defect of some form. Try a different cable to start with.

Also, you must be connected via a Dual Link DVI cable with that monitor or else it will not work.

I'll do another reinstall today with DDU and see if that fixes it. I saw this glasses kit running and working the day I bought it, so if there is a hardware issue I would think it's with my USB controller on the mobo rather than the emitter itself. I don't think I have a spare cable, I'll see what I can do I will plug it into my other computer to test it's working if the DDU reinstall doesn't fix. Yes my monitor is using a dual-link DVI, and it also functions at all it's listed refresh rates (60,100,110,120)

BTW, do not use the setup disc that came with your glasses. Since driver version 275, the emitter and stereo drivers are included with each new driver version and must match. So you can not use any of the old emitter drivers with any of the newer drivers. Make sure that your motherboard drivers are updated also, especially the USB drivers. Once you've completed the setup wizard, make sure you enable the advanced shortcut keys. http://3dvision-blog.com/111-changing-the-convergence-level-in-3d-vision/ Also make sure to use community fixes for games. http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/10/game-list-automatically-updated.html
