3D Vision PC projector user here - can I use 3d vision for Playstation 3 and The Last Of US?
Hello 3d users! I love 3d vision and have used it with my Viewsonice PDJ6531-w (If I remember that projector model number correctly)projector for the last couple years. I truly love it and the immersion it brings. 1 - With my current projector and pc setup with 3d vision can I plug my ps3 into my projector or "do something" creative to use my ps3's 3d with my setup? 2 - I really want to try playing The Last of US in 3d when it comes out....can I? 3 - Is 3d with Playstation 3 games common? Are most games playable in 3d? 4 - Are PS3 3d games as good as PC 3d vision games such as battlefield/ RE 5/ Tomb Raider etc? I'm only semi 3d savy so please elaborate with detail on any responses ... but happy to have any and all feedback! Thanks!

The PDJ6531-w is only HDMI 1.3 and only supports a frame sequential intput. The PS3 does not output frame sequential. Nvidia 3D Vision glasses activate via a USB driver only when playing a Stereoscopic game or using a 3D Vision compatible video playback/photo viewer on a 3D Vision certified display. Your options to use the PS3 for stereoscopic gaming.... 1.Buy DLP Link glasses and a format converter that can output frame sequential, such as the VP3D1, 3D-XL, 3DFury or some of the 2D-3D converters that can perfom the conversion. 2.Buy a new Display

It doesnt support 3d regardless. http://n4g.com/news/1069174/no-3d-support-for-the-last-of-us PS3 3d is really not that impressive regardless. I think I claim my display was 40" instead of 80" and it was still really flat. Like I think everything is in depth. Like if you played RE5 PC 3d vision without chiri's convergence unlocker thats better then ps3. The system is really not built for 3D regardless. I really dont recommend going out of way for it. Im pretty sure they reduce res. for it.

I might actually dust off my PS3 for this one. The Truck Ambush trailer looks great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShP5xn9Tz90

It does look like a great game, unfortunately I couldn't bring myself to finish the last great '2D only' 3D game I played on the PS3, Journey. The whole time I was playing it I was going ... "Wow! This would look really great in 3D!"

One thing to think of is that many games on console are rendered in the same way as crysis native 3d. It's natural because it's a way to keep fps up in demanding games on hardwarelocked consoles but the 3d-experience suffers greatly. I wonder if it's even worth a try (3d-movies are another business though).

That being said, Shadow Of The Colossus is not only an /incredible/ game, but the 3d is done really well. You owe it to yourself to check it out.
