Will SLI kill ghosting ? 2 x GTX 580 Sli ...
So i have been reading a bit all over the web ...

I really like 3D gaming alot but i suffer from EXTREME ghosting in Resident Evil 5 / Medal Of Honor MP wich are 2 of my favorite games ...

I have tried EVERYTHING to solve this ghosting problem with no luck at all ( actually its getting worse the more i fiddle with it )

So from what i have read people with a SLI setup dont suffer as much with ghosting as people with a single GFX ... ?

Is there any truth to this ? And would be a good idea to get a second card ?

I am now playing with a single GTX 580 and a LG W2363D 120 Hz LCD ....

SLI will make no difference to ghosting, it's a function of the way LCD's refresh and the timing of the emitter.

If you're one of the people with "abnormal" ghosting, AFAICS reading the threads, some motherboards seem to introduce additional latency to the USB traffic.
A lot of people suffering seem to be running Athlons.

I've used 3DVision on 3 different i7 1366 boards, without issues.

From what I have read ghosting is caused by the monitor not the GPU. With that in mind adding a second GPU would make no impact on the ghosting effect. You may want to do some research into a new monitor which I'm sure the hardcore 3D guys around here could help with. Look on the bright side, a new monitor is probably going to be cheaper then a new GPU.

Having read the Severe ghosting thread and seen some of the images, some people clearly gave a problem which is above and beyond "normal" a fault of the screen ghosting.
I get some ghosting, but it's not unacceptable and if I go look at the reviews on 3DVision Blog, it's inline with the pictures there.
I've seen pictures from other users here where it's basically a double image at the top of the screen, those people seem to be running AMD boards and recently several of them have posted that plugging in various USB perifierals has "fixed" it for them.

Ok so i played around with the Hz ...

Turning it down to 100 Hz 1920 x 1080 instead of 120 Hz 1920 x 1980 actually removed all the Ghosting ... ;0)

The downside of this is the games are not as fluid ;0(

But better with a little hickups than terrible ghosting ;0)

Samsung 2233RZ 1680x1050@100 hz has exactly the same ghosting (in my case) than using 120hz. The only different is brightness (more light using 100hz, of course, and then more vivid colors. The downside as said is the smooth lost, I suppose because most games are designed for 60hz, not 50hz. I have to test with different games using 100hz.

Did you remember to turn down the Hz to 100 in the Nvidia Change resolution ?

And then in the steroscopic settings ... ;0)

I forgot the first time and i didnt change anything about the ghosting ...

So its important to remember that ...

Of course I changed and forced 100hz in the testing of Nvidia 3d in the Nvidia control panel. Also 2233RZ OSD gives information about what resolution and refresh rate I´m using in each moment. Also increse of bright when using 100hz is visually noticeable, but no difference here about ghosting.

The new Acer 27" ( when released late feburary ) should really do something about the Ghosting/Croostalk. Im gonna buy that one. Cant focus on the game when there is ghosting so im selling my LG W2363D
only after 2 weeks of fun :0(. Did not know the ghosting was this bad when playing 3D. I can remove it with doing a 100 Hz but why should i when i takes the fun out of playing games ...

Nvidia really released a product that was not EVEN close to be finished ;0(. I waste of money ...

You will always have Ghosting on LCD technology. It's just to slow for 3D to work well.

Plasma is a good improvement. But still some Ghosting.

If you want Zero Ghosting then you have to use DLP Technology.
