Lets make a list of solving common 3D killer problems e.g. removing annoying 2D reticles
Hi all
I have some hugely potential 3D vision games which are ruined by things which should be easily rectified - like removing 2D reticles. The Nvidia tips seem to overlook these issues. Obviously games like Fallout 3 and Oblivion have useful menus for this which is great.
But games like Half-life need to have their config file edited. e.g. Half life 2 games. Edit the config file and change the crosshair switch from "1" to "0"
Would it be possible to post any known solutions for any of these problems.
A couple of games which are spoilt by unremovable 2D icons.
BIOSHOCK - Recticle - why no option to remove it ala Fallout Oblivion etc
World in Conflict - if only you could remove the unit icons but recall them using ALT - F10 unfortunately removes HUD

Agree!
Just recieved 23" acer gd235Hz and 3D vision this week.
Bioshock in 3D is outstanding experience which is diminished by inability to remove 2D reticle.
I have played this game several times two years ago on a 30" 2560x1600 dell2008 LCD.
But using 3DVision the game is much better even at half the resolution and with somewhat less brightness and less accurate color reproducetion!
The 2D reticle is distracting especially if dept is set to very high (100%).
Nvidia should work with developers to insure option to remove 2D reticle and other 2D on screen effects.
Despite this problem the game is amazing in 3D. Everyone with 3D vision should revisit this game which is available on steam essentially free with preorder of Bioshock2!

I say what good gamming is to some ( 3D ) may not be for me or others... nothing personal here ;). First off I wish Nvidia would take out 3d drivers that is placed inside the reg video drivers so I don't half to take the time to D/L & install them on my system. To me it is Junk that I don't use. In away it is like spamming my drivers where by way of getting something I never use. Just like E:mail spam that I get and half to remove. Nvidia should give you a choice..If you want 3D drivers let there be a selection box to pick drivers with or with out the 3D drivers. Look how many selection you make for driver download, so what is one more to add to the list. Lastly Nvidia please fix the darn limit for the 85 refreshrate for win 7. This way I don't have to mod DVI plugs to allow me to boot to a none PNPmonitor so I can pick my own refresh Hz...........CHEERS

Solution:
Patch to 1.4
If you have the 'mouse won't aim' problem then go into controls in the main menu and hit 'defaults'
To turn off the in-game crosshair open up the console (` key) and type \HUD_CROSSHAIR 0
Or to permanently remove the crosshair create a file called Systemcfgoverride.cfg in your Far Cry folder and add the following line to it-
Fix for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Now looking great in 3D!)
To remove the 2D halo/coronas from GTA:SA. Taken / paraphrased from GTAForums

You can edit the textures in models/particle.txd to make them transparent ingame. The headlight texture is "coronaheadlightline", replace it with a pure black image of the same size. I think "coronastar" is the image used for stoplights, you can make it black as well.
To do the above you need to download the .txd editor which I have attached (I hope)
Extract it anywhere, run it, OPEN TXD and point it to your GTA:SA directory --> models/particle.txd
Find and export the abovementioned files to desktop (or where-ever) and edit them both using paint. Save and then import them back (still using txdworkshop). Save and GTA:SA is now totally 3D.
Only drawback - at night, break lights do not work (they work during the day though).
I understand the above fix also works for Vice City! :)

Problem:No in-game setting to disable crosshair
Solution:
Patch to 1.4
If you have the 'mouse won't aim' problem then go into controls in the main menu and hit 'defaults'
To turn off the in-game crosshair open up the console (` key) and type \HUD_CROSSHAIR 0
Or to permanently remove the crosshair create a file called Systemcfgoverride.cfg in your Far Cry folder and add the following line to it-
hud_crosshair = "0"
Btw Far Cry is awesome in 3D.

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
