Half Life 2 double image
I just got my 3d vision today and its awesome. Ive been trying to get half life 2 to work but I have just been getting a double image. If I turn the depth all the way down it comes close but its still very blurry and crapy looking. I have messed with the covergence setting but all that did was straighten out my crosshair and left the background doubled. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Only old school tips here but: Have you tried these settings in advanced videosettings:

hdr-none
color correction-disabled
motion blur-disabled

These are for older drivers but if it works disabling these then try enabling the options one by one until you see what setting that doesn't work.

Thanks for the quick reply Likay. I tried all that stuff but it still doesnt seem to be working. I know ive read in these forums that some people said it works perfectly but for me half life 2 has a constant double image. Any other suggestions?

Try clicking the button on the glasses. I know that's a basic "duh" thing but I've seen another user on this forum not know about the button.

It sounds like your glasses are off mate, are you sure that they work as they should ?

This happens to me too. The glasses are definitely on as I tested this by going right from HL2 (with the double-image problem) to another game without touching the glasses and it worked fine; then going back to HL2 and getting the same prob. It's odd because the Episodes work just fine, it's only HL2 itself.

I have this same exact problem, all the episodes and any other games in the Steam engine work great. Just no HL2. I hope someone can find a solution.

I just installed the orange box games yesterday and all games including HL2 work in S3D. Can't help you much except another shot in the dark: reinstall the game?

I haven't played that particular game with 3dV, but in general a lot of doubling/ghosting problems can be alleviated, if not completely fixed, by fine-tuning the convergence settings in each game individually separately from the screen depth. Not sure if you've discovered that already, but if you haven't, go into the nvidia control panel's "set up Stereoscopic 3d" tab and click on the "Set Keyboard Shortcuts" button, then at the bottom of the popup window make sure you have "show advanced in-game settings" enabled so you see the convergence key options.

Try turning the screen depth scroll bar down all the way first, then once you're in game, use CTRL+F5 & CTRL-F6 to fine tune the left-to-right convergence of the renderings until the figures in game look less blurry & doubled (the effect of each single click won't be immediately obvious by itself, but click it several times and you'll see what it's doing). Once you get that set right you can usually turn screen depth back up to better effect with less ghosting/doubling.

Other than that, maybe we can all just pray we see a driver update from nvidia that will give us better/additonal game compatibility someday. .... ..... ..... /tearywave.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':tearywave:' />
