I love the DOF in The Witcher 2 (I turn of the cinematic ones for performance issues). Why do you turn that off? It makes everything look like a Trine 2 fairy tale! Normally DoF is the first setting I turn off because you don't need it but in W2, gorgeous. Turn it on at dusk or dawn in Flotsam.

I only feel forced to turn off sun beams because that is wrong depth or something.

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

I just default to DOF "OFF" because of a few other titles that it doesn't work well with. I will give it a try with in-game DOF

Take a shot or two in Flotsam, as you are approaching the market square. Everything looks really murky but in a great fantasy setting way - Timebandits, Jaberwokki style. :)

I don't know about you but I have to lower my rez to 800 to keep frames in the 40 region. Still looks suprisingly sharp though!

Edit

Added screenies. What a suprise the stills don't do the effect justice. Worth a lookie though. Looks much better when the game is moving. Flotsam melts into existance out of the mist. But that's just my opinion.

FYI: Loaded up Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition last night. Runs good. Review would be the same as for the first version.

I just bought the following games very cheap from Amazon.co.uk:

- Just Cause 2
- Deux Ex 2
- HAWX 2
- Rage

I know that Rage, unfortunatly, is a OpenGL game so it dosent work in 3D Vision mode. But about the other 3 games, is there any fix or setup I should know about? Do you recommend them?

Cheers

Just Cause 2 is excellent. Brilliant brilliant brilliant! Great fun and brilliant 3D.

The max depth you can achieve in DE:HR is... OHHHH!! DE2, old game mate. Was OK if I remember. Skybox too near but OK.

Dunno about HAWX2.

Thanks for the quick answer.
Sorry, its Deus Ex: Human Revolution (3rd), not Deux Ex 2. What were you going to say about the max depth?

Cheers

Deus ex download most recent patches I believe. You can play only with depth I hear once you adjust convergence things go bad. Might be a certain depth setting too, I dunno. There is a long thread for deus ex just check out the end. Here are screenshots http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/s/?ss=deus+ex&type=images&x=0&y=0 . Its not amazing but looks good.

@dhr
disaster. I have no idea whats wrong with it. It almost looks like the way its processed. A 3d vision profile MAY actually work for this game. A helix profile will not I believe. Game got BAD ratings so its probably best to leave it dead.

@Badelhas

I did a very quick comparison of vanilla DE:HR's depth with another game and the max possible depth of vanilla DE:HR is about 10%. The thread eqzitara mentions includes a link to a perfectly good, well made 'hack' to extend the depth and convergence. Problem is, again as eq' says is that the convergence must be really low or you get uncomfortable popout with your gun. Also, once you increase depth, you see all manner of glitches which you didn't notice in the low depths - I gave up after about 4 hours worth of gaming because it was too uncomfortable.

I am waiting to see if this will get the Helix treatment once he releases his DX10+ version of his debug...

So, do you advise me not to play the game in the meanwhile? :( What is the programed Helix fix dx10+ version release date?

I here deus ex only works with direct x 9 or 11 I believe. Helix is working on direct x 10. And for some reason I dont think deus ex works with 3d vision on direct x 9. Its up to you I guess. Maybe save it to last then decide.
Helix is real busy with his job. Only does this stuff in free time. No estimates/promises.

DOF is terrible imo. In mass effect 3 they actually occasionally do it on talking characters(for unknown reasons) and it makes my eyes bleed. The good news DOF is a shader. I am hoping helix will remove it one day. I got like 5 games I know of that need DOF removed and if I see how he does it I may be able to fix them.

Added some titles and updated some things.

I like DOF in The Witcher 2 - though it looks like you are using cinematic DOF, which I turn off for performance issues. Is that DOF in ME3? (I haven't got ME3.) It looks completely broken if it is.

As I said before, I usually turn off DOF in every game because you don't need it thanks to 3D. I just like the organic 'effect' in W2. But it is completely optional which is always good.
