Reload This Page Nvidia 301.42 Problem Sli Gtx 670 3d Broken
I have a problem running two GTX 670 in SLI mode and using the 3D feature. The problem appears to arise when enabling 3D Stereoscopic. On the initialization menu for the 3D, I could tell something is off when it ask me to close one of my eyes and identify the image in front of me. The screen will blacken with the window circling icon, and then it will re-appear again. This effect will reproduce every 15 seconds. It becomes sluggish as well.

After the 3D initialization is completed, I attempt to run Skyrim or The Witcher 2, in 3D Stereoscopic and it comes to a complete halt, very slow. FRAPS reports 6-9 FPS on the menu of the games. Both game fail to boot if I click to start or load a save.

When I go back to the Nvidia Settings, and attempt to mess with the SLI feature, to toggle it off, it will go all black. I am left to forcefully turn off the PC. After resetting PC, I need to reinstall the drivers again.

Currently running latest driver:
301.42-desktop-win7-winvista-64bit-english-whql

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2 @ 3.7Mhz
ASUS M5A99X (running latest BIOS)
G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB ( 2x 4GB) DDR3 1866 @ 1600Mhz
Aligity OCZ 3 240GB
Asus VG278H 3D monitor
Gigabyte GTX 670 2x in SLI mode

What I know so far.

Graphic Cards work great individually, one at a time on the system. Tested playing each game for 2 minutes or so.

When cards are running SLI together, the system is highly stable initially before messing with the 3D capability. I am able to toggle on and off the SLI mode. and play Skyrim and The Witcher 2, BF3.

SLI mode is indeed working since I can see a double improvement under 3DMark11 FPS on different scene and score at the end.

3D Stereoscopic works great on individual graphic cards. All games.

Oddly, I can't feel an actual improvement in FPS using FRAPS for any of the games whether its Skyrim, Witcher2 or BF3. With SLI enable, it still feels like a single card is actually working. Don't know if the drivers still need optimization to have them work better. It could also be me. Anyone else have 3D feature broken for users in this version of the drivers?

I also have problems with the 301.42 driver running two GTX 580 in SLI with 3D. With Version 296.10 everything works fine. Either I can't see the logon screen (horizontal, blurred colored stripes) when windows starts, or I can't activate 3D (doesn't install 3DVision drivers).

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Intel i7 3930K
Asus Rampage IV Extreme (latest Bios)
Corsair Dominator GT 16GB
OCZ RevoDrive3 X2
Asus VG278H 3D monitor + Samsung Synmaster 913V
Asus Matrix GTX 580 Platinum 2x in SLI mode (latest Bios)

Both of us use the same Monitor, maybe the 301.42 driver doesn't work with this monitor? ASUS offers no drivers for it. :( The second monitor I have connected works fine (connected with adaptor DVI to VGA).

Update. Tried rolling drivers to 301.34, and same problem 3D on SLI mode. Games will just drop so bad in frame rate that the main menu is as far as I can go. Aldo notice that this version wasn"t as bad as the newer one. Instead of blacken screen an having me reload the drivers again, it disable sli mode fine after enabling 3D stereoscopic and attemping to run a game.

No, can't be monitor. It works great on single graphic card. The problem arises on SLI mode. Must be drivers.

After searching endlessly. It appeared that the AMD CPU for some odd reason, was causing the issue. Problem resolved replacing mobo and CPU to intel. Got a ivy bridge i5. Very pleased with the update. 3D vision now works with both GTX 670 in SLI mode.

Well its not solved for me. I have 670SLI and a 2600K CPU. BF3 in 3D with SLI runs great (like really great) for a moment, then FPS and GPU usage tanks and it suddenly becomes unplayable, like the driver just stopped working properly. Its not in my head. The FPS in 3D was like 60+fps on all ultra with 4Xaa, which is incredible actually, but suddenly drops hard and just won't run anymore and it stays stuck like that regardless of where I go on the map or the action taking place in game.
