3d vision dongle connected, but no 3d vision option in nvidia control panel
Why is there no option for 3d vision even with the 3d vision dongle connected?

Are you sure you have the 3d vision driver installed? I just built a new pc a few weeks ago, and installed my drivers though geforce experience and had the same issue because it didnt install the 3d vision driver. Downloading the driver straight off of nvidias site fixed it.

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us Starting with Driver 275, Nvidia includes the 3D Vision driver in the main download package. Prior to 275, it was a separate download. The separate download will not work with a driver newer than 275, it will give you an error. There have been issues with the drivers, so depending on what you are looking to play you might have a look at this thread and decide which driver you'd like to try. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/777954/3d-vision/suggested-driver-to-use-/

Well, 3dvision is there when i look up 3dvision on the start menu, or in the "uninstall" section of programs. But it just won't show up in the nvidia control panel...

If you are not, you need to troubleshoot using a single monitor. Once you have it working, then you can mess with surround. What OS are you using? If it's Vista, Vista is not supported. Try plugging your emitter into a port located on the motherboard, preferably USB 2.0 Tell me you are not using HDMI cables for those displays.

Tested with maximize 3d performance, did not work Running win 7 ultimate 64bit Nope, all are connected through their DVI-D cables that came with them. Connected the 3dvision dongle through a 2.0 now and it installed, but still no option in nvidia control panel.

Probably time to try reinstalling the drivers from scratch, clean-install, probably DDU. eqzitara also noted many times that the c:\Nvidia directory can hold corrupted driver unpacks, so it's probably best to delete that too.

Used ddu earlier today, cleaned away the drivers and installed them again, still nothing.

Are you doing like I said before, troubleshooting with only "one" monitor connected. Make sure that you are connected to the Dual Link output. Some GPUs have a single link DVI output. Have you tried an older driver, instead of the newest?

Did you try reinstalling Drivers after you actually got the PC to recognize the emitter? Not sure if it'd be pulling Drivers from Microsoft or NVIDIA. Did you try another USB cable? Are you running the USB cable through anything else like a HUB, if so don't. You should be plugging it directly into the PC.

Or just ddeactivating the 2 other screens? Cause the cable part will take more effort than i care to do :P It's been a long time since the 3d option was in the control påanel, even before i reinstalled, but it used to work great when i had all 3 screen on at once. If you plan to use 3D Surround (based on the image) you need 3 EXACT SAME MODEL for it to work and all connected via Dual-Link DVI or Display Port. You should also be able to set 120Hz Refresh rate when in Surround mode. If either of these are not met 3D Vision option will not appear. I would suggest: - Disable Surround - Maximize Performance so SLI is enabled. - Enable ONE MONITOR at a time And see for which monitor the 3D option appears and works and on which it fails. Hope it helps

I think the 3d vision did not appear cause i cannot change refreshrate when the screens are in portrait surround. And yes i do have 3 identical screens, all uses the same type of cable. Cause i can easily do 3dvision when in landscape surround.

No offense my friend, but FIRST do your own research: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/surround/system-requirements Just put in the mode you are using and you WILL SEE that PORTRAIT MODE IS NOT SUPPORTED!!! (In 3D Vision Surround. It works in 2D Surround though) Why, you might ask..... Well if you knew how monitors and REFRESH rates works...You would know the answer:P (Monitor Refreshes from TOP to BOTTOM when in landscape mode) No WAY you can make 3D Surround work in Portrait Mode... However you can make it work with PROJECTORS: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/470342/3d-vision/3d-vision-surround-2160-x-1280-using-acer-h5360-x-3-in-portrait-any-experiences-/post/3344913/#3344913 Again, do the RESEARCH before ;)) (I, or anyone shouldn't do the the research for you). Please, don't be offended as I AM NOT SAYING THIS TO OFFEND YOU IN ANY WAY;)) Solution: Put the screens in LANDSCAPE MODE => Will work ^_^. Hope it helps;) PS: I see for some reason the tool DOESN'T WORK properly with the GTX 900 Series. Just select the 700 Series. IS EXACTLY the same. And people can CONFIRM THIS. (Now that I think about...is wierd that Nvidia is not showing any valid 3D Surround configs for 3D Surround using GTX 900 series... Hmmm)
