Ray Tracing On vs. Off, come spot the difference (other than the halving of the frame-rate) Nvidia f...

Come comment Shit in a Bowl and D-Clam, you really went to such great length defending NGreedia's price-doubling and rename scam because you made the uninformed decision to support such tactics with the allure of RT.
Here it is, the reason you paid $900 for that 60 card (RTX "2070")!
Real smart!
My comment can be found below the video:
"I see no difference between on and off (no really, at least up until 1 min mark where I stopped watching to write this) yet avg. FPS was 60 vs 100.
No wonder Nvidia wanted to delay adding driver-side RT support for SOTTR for as long as possible. This is just fuel for the fire, RT is an absolute failure IMHO, that they physically allocated 33% of the die to this, imagine how much faster the "2080 Ti" (the 2080 in actuality) would have been without 33% of that massive die allocated to RT?
And for $1200 before taxes? LMFAO."

You can view the entire exchange here and judge for yourselves. I call Nvidia out at launch for all of this and I'm attacked by true believers and fanboys, to include Gibson Red, D-Man and Rusty a.k.a "Shit in a bowl".

Yeah, that's what we need, less people calling out Nvidia for this crap and more blind cheerleader lemmings, that's really going to compel NGreedia to reverse trend with the price-doubling (and rename scam).
The delusion is unreal.

I am not sure the game is the best showcase having very few reflective surfaces. You can see the difference in the crowd scene which starts just after 3 minutes - look at the shadows, which are much more realistic IYAM.
But that setting also seems to cost around a third of the FPS. Not sure if that is worth it...

What you have to consider is that Nvidia tries to do the same thing in realtime what CPU bound cinematic renderers do in lots of hours of renderings for 1 single frame. Of course V-Ray and other cinematic renderers are also able to compute Raytracing on the GPU (although still limited) but it still takes several minutes for 1 single frame if you want to have good results. And now Nvidia wants to render 30 or more fps with good results... then you see what happens. Developers either do global illumination, Raytraced shadows or Raytraced reflections. No game does all of these technologies at the same time because it would kill your GPU. Even when doing only 1 discipline (like raytraced shadows in SOTTR) you have a compromise although shadows look really good in SOTTR with Ultra settings (forget about the high setting or the other options presented in the video). Nvidia just showed the future - but for the price they expect for GTX 2080 TI this technology is doomed to fail so far unless price drops and performance gets a lot of better.

On second thought, I don't think you can wipe away Troll tears.
So I guess I'll laugh.

[quote="mayuwatanabe777"]Hello
You have to use the AV1 format of Youtube to show the difference of the games with the Ray Tracing.
The quality is simply excellent.

Glad I'm not so angry at the world and am happy to get on with my life in peace. LOL.
Apart from the general rudeness it's an impressive achievement to be able to write such finely crafted posts full of such endless meaningless ranting. Bravo.
