PS3 3D Display?
Does anyone know if the new Sony 24in 3D display will work with Nvidia's 3DTV Play software?
Here is the link: http://us.playstation.com/ps3/accessories/sony-playstation-3d-display-ps3.html
The monitor itself is Active 3D, does that make a difference?
I want to you this monitor as my computer monitor as well as using for my PS3.
Any responses would be helpful.

It looks like it will only support 720p at 60fps or 1080p at 24fps from a computer.

I guess what I am really asking is, will this PS3 3D monitor work with 3DTV Play Software or Nvidia's 3D Vision?
Will any 3D monitor work with 3DTV Play Software or Nvidia's 3D Vision?

Technically not necessarily but it most likely will work with 3d tv play. I've yet to come across a 3d tv (which is all it really is) that doesn't. Projectors on the other hand are more complicated (but for no good reason).

3DTV Play will work fine, if it supports dual link DVI @ 120hz then it will support 3d vision as well.

Too bad, as I wrote in the other thread about this monitor, that it only has HDMI ports. I don't believe we will be able to use it with nVidia's software (3D Vision works only with DVI, and 3DTV Play is for 3D TVs, while this is only a monitor).

Ok guys correct me if I am wrong but didnt Nvidia say that 3dtv play will work with all hdmi 1.4 (via hdmi 1.4 cable) displays?
If so then this monitor would work with Nvidia 3DTV Play and also be connected to the PS3 for Gaming.
I say this be casue I want to have 3D gaming on both my PS3 and PC and have been looking for displays with HDMI 1.4 and are on the Nvidia 3D Vision requirements page (Only ACER brand availble in 1080p), and if this monitor will work with 3DTV Play then I will buy it.

Can anyone post a clear answer like "Yes it will work with your PS3 and PC(via 3DTV Play) or No it will work with your PS3 and PC(via 3DTV Play)"
Thanks

I would say NO, it won't work.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play.html

Towards the end of the page:

1) "(...) Works with HDMI 1.4 3D TVs (...)"

2) "(...) 3DTV Play software requires a compatible GeForce GPU, Microsoft® Windows® 7, and a compatible 3D TV (...)"

The Sony CECH-ZED1 is a regular monitor with two HDMI ports, and its own glasses. It isn't a 3D TV.

HI, I have a Sony 3D display. I have it hooked up to my PC and PS3. When I first set up my new Nvidia card which was only a couple months ago, my 3D display played PC games in 3D no problem. I used to play Crysis 2 in 3D. More recently I did a fresh install of windows 8 and updated the NVidia drivers. Now I cant get 3Dto work anymore. Nvidia support was useless and because im using a monitor that isn't one of their recommended ones, they refuse to help me solve the issue.

I have one as well. It's safe to say that this display DOES work. BF3 works fine in both 1080 24fps and 720 60p (until Nvidia sees this post, no doubt). Nothing else does natively, unless you do the hack (generic monitor inf, 3dtv play, etc.) Well, this USED to be the case, the newer versions of the Nvidia driver don't allow the hack ("huh, what do you mean 3dTV Play? I never heard of that program.") For the 3d hack to work you have to uninstall your drivers and in install an old one, like 285.62 old. It shouldn't be hard for this to work, but Nvidia seems to be blocking it for some reason. My best guess is that Sony won't shell out money to be a "supported" model, so Nvidia is blocking it. Hardware-wise, there is NO reason this can't work (we've seen it work). Unfortunately, with the new driver, the 3DTV Play that I PAID FOR is worthless (and has NO interface whatsoever, so it either works or doesn't). Nvidia will ignore this (except for updating the next driver to disallow Bf3 in 3d).
