Samsung 3D Glasses VS nVidia 3D Vision, need your help! What's the difference between them?
Hey guys,
I have 3D Vision but it didn't support 3D movies yet.
anyway, I found out that Samsung 3d glasses can play monsters vs aliens & others.
So my question is, I'm gonna buy Samsung 3DTV which is (Samsung UN40C7000 40-Inch 1080p 240 Hz 3D LED HDTV (Black) )
that has built in emitter, and their glasses.
What are the differences between them & 3D vision?
Do you recommend me to take the glasses or keep my 3d vision?!
Does Samsung supports Games like nVidia?
I'll be much appreciated if someone could help me out.
Best Regards
Salaam
Unless you plan on buying the $300 Samsung 3D Starter Pack on top of whatever else you plan to spend you won't find a copy of Monsters vs Aliens. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs will hit stores on June 22nd so there is a slight chance that by then that Cyberlink will have updated PowerDVD to be able to play 3D Bluray and maybe even 3D TV Play will be up and running.

It seems you are confusing the displays, the hardware and software.
Nvidia 3D vision glasses do not work on the Samsung 3DTVs
Samsung glasses only work on the Samsung 3DTVs[/quote]
On a forum I moderate another mod has the new samsung 50" 3d tv and has 2x 480's on the way and is about to get or borrow some N3d glasses so he can tell us how the samsung Atuo 3d works vs using the N3d shades and IR. The samsung 3d will auto 3d ati right now its not the same as N3d in a game more of a fake effect that can get it worng but it general works. we are trying to work out how to take scren shots to view in n3d of how the samsung 3d compares!
But we suspect that the n3d glasses will work at 100HZ on the samsung screen. Most screens that work at 100hz+ can work with n3d. The trouble is with the TV's they have so many chips built it to fudge the signal frame double 100hz to 200hz or in panasonics case hex 100hz to 600hz and chips trying to filter the signal that these need to be truned off to allow N3d a chnace to shine on the TV's compared to the dedicted PC screens.

Nvidia 3D vision glasses will not synchronize with the Samsung TV, not matter what frequency you run them at.
The built-in emitter in the Samsung TV only works with Samsung 3D glasses and the TV does not feature a VESA 3D sync port.
The Samsung glasses work better than the Nvidia glasses anyway, at least my Samsung SSG1000 glasses on a Samsung PS50B450 that does have a vesa port and is compatible with 3D Vision and allows actual comparison. The Samsung glasses are clearer (less dark) so provide better colour and contrast via a brighter picture and sync/refresh better and more quickly than Nvidia glasses (turn both glasses away from emmitter and back again and watch flicker rate difference (quite noticable how much slower Nvidia is). I assume the newer SSGs are equal or better and if your TV does not have a 3D vesa port you are currently stuck with the Samsung alternative. The Tridef and iZ3D drivers that work on the Samsung I also find superior for big screen viewing (much better convergance management) and between them most games.

The lighter weight samsung glasses are better in my opinion, other than being lighter, better fitting and wrap around the head, so less light can get in from top/bottom/sides, dont go those awful looking goggles
As above Samsung Glasses = Samsung Tv's
Nvidia 3D Glasses = Nvidia IR receiver
Panasonic Glasses = Panasonic
ect ect ect, not interchangable
But Xpand X103 say they are Universal, just need comfirmation

If you feed a samsung TV (like my 46D7000) a SIDE BY SIDE 3D image it will automatically convert it to 3D (using THEIR glasses).
The only thing you need to to is to support SIDE BY SIDE 3D output!
IS it THAT difficult?!?!??!
To nvidia:
that can already be accomplished using iz3d driver.
Why don't you just implement side by side output in the nvidia driver?!?!?
It's not difficult and it won't harm your business at all!
