Ok, I've now got Win10 installed on my secondary drive for testing. 100% clean install from ISO.
The latest Win10 driver on the nVidia site when I went to download was 353.30, and this did not include the 3D Vision driver.
Installing it from the Win8 package worked, and 3D activated in Portal: Mel Stories. I have the helixmod fix installed for this, which should be pushing the cursor to depth. Right now this isn't working, but I've not spent any time trying to fix it.
On checking back just now, I can see 352.62 has been made available for download. I'm getting that now, and will have it installed with more results in about 15 minutes.
EDIT: Windows update is now trying to download/install 352.62. I've uninstalled the 3D Vision driver manually to set myself back to where I was, and I'll see what Windows Update does here.

Ok, Windows update's driver install attempt ended with an error. But I've just installed 352.62 manually, and during the installation process it does offer 3D Vision as a checkbox, as previous drivers do. I've installed it, and 3D Vision settings are in the control panel as per normal.
Helixmod wouldn't kick in for any game initially, but after installing .net framework 3.5, it's now working fine in the 3 games I've looked at.
Next up, I'll test a few 3dmigoto games.
Update: Just played Shadow of Mordor for 10 minutes. The first time I played, it crashed after about a minute or two (possibly because I changed graphics settings not long before the crash). The second attempt dropped to 2d in the menus and wouldn't go back (I've seen this occasionally under Win8 too, but it's rare), and the third attempt played for 10 minutes before I decided to quit.
It's all looking pretty good so far. Drivers are installing just fine, helix and 3dmigoto are working...still quite a bit of testing to be done, but it's a positive start.
I have noticed SweetFX causes some games to crash on launch. So if you use it and find games crashing under Win10, that (or similar tools) may be the culprit.

Edit: Nevermind I figured it out;))

For a brief outline on a clean install, I did it like this.
-Installed a 8.1 clean
-Upgraded to Windows 10 by running the installer on the disk
-Extracted the product key using SIW
-Used this to do a clean install
Bit of mucking about, but it didn't really take that long to do.

When you install Win 10 the first time a hardware profile is saved with MS, you can then do re-installs without worrying about the product key on the same system indefinitely.
If you do a major hardware change or want to do a clean install you'll have to use a recovery install that you create once you've already upgraded to Win 10.

"Once you’ve upgraded to Windows 10 using the free upgrade offer, you will be able to reinstall, including a clean install, on the same device. You won’t need a product key for re-activations on the same hardware. If you make a meaningful change to your hardware, you may need to contact customer support to help with activation. You’ll also be able to create your own installation media like a USB drive or DVD, and use that to upgrade your device or reinstall after you’ve upgraded. "
Edit due to the post below - This applies only if you use the integrated Win 7 / 8.1 Windows Update method, not the downloaded ISO method mentioned below.

Seems there's a caveat. The download link is actually meant for 'insiders' and so while anyone can download 10 and install it, it will not be activated. See the bottom of the article for more details.

I used the following link on my wife's computer and she is not an insider and windows 10 is activated.
I have 6 PCs which are activated using the link below
On my all the upgrades I booted to Windows 8.1 desktop and ran setup.exe.

So you just used your Win 7/8.1 product key, or you installed through your old OS and it was activated when finished?
Microsoft keep talking about Win10 being free 'for the life of your device' which tells me that they give you an OEM Win10 key, whether your Win7/8 is OEM or retail, which means cough up some money when you change motherboard (which I'm planning to do in the next year).
Now that would be fine if I always had the option of just putting Win7 back on but I read today that you have only 30 days to revert and if you don't your Win7 key stops working. Anyone know if that's true? It sounds unlikely to me. It's one of the main things stopping me from upgrading (the other things being forced driver updates and 3D Vision compatibility).

I get the same issue I've always had with my 980ti since the hacked ones (347.88 I think?) which worked fine. Left image doesn't render properly, get a repeating box and major graphical glitching. Even compatibility mode had a constant annoying flicker. Having to play in Win 8.1 to get working 3D for now...

The answer is image your windows 7 update to windows 10 activated it and image it.
This way you can roll back to windows 7 image. I would use true image or Backupper.
I will update my post in 30 days if my old windows 8.1 image isn't activated anymore.
