How is the Vive Pro ? Is it worth of upgrading from regular Vive ?
This comes down to how much you are willing to carve out for a considerably better visual experience! Yes, the difference is definitely there and it is a big difference. But of course I don't know if it's worth the ridiculous Vive Pro's price-tag for you. Keep in mind that you won't be able to sell your old Vive because you still need your base stations and your controllers (Gen 2 base stations and controllers not available yet). Maybe this one helps: I instantly preordered the Vive Pro when the preorders started. Then days before release I reconsidered my decision (especially since I also own the Samsung Odyssey which has the same resolution as the Vive Pro) and I decided to cancel my preorder. Although I canceled it and never got a "your order has shipped"-message from HTC the Vive Pro was delivered to me on release day. Of course I tried it and never looked back since. So yes I am very happy with it and would recommend it. It is significantly better than the old vive. But at the same time it also is significantly more expensive than the old Vive (at least by now)!
Oh it gets better! We donated an HMD to Boris the creator of ENB. Hes working on something special for us
That one looks great! Usually I hate modding of games because once you are in for mods you are never satisfied because you are always thinking of even better mods that could exist out there. But then the difference between Vanilla and Modded is definitely night and day here so you really have no choice. In the end you just have to board the modding-train.

I managed to try out Skyrim VR on a friends Oculus Rift and spending a bit of time on it I have to say I wasn’t really blown away. I think this is mainly due to playing it on a projector with 3D vision. I knew the graphics would be an issue in VR but felt I might be able to deal with this as I have with 3D vision, lowering resolution etc. I’m not that fussy but there is a threshold… I just found the visuals uncomfortable in the end, it was too burry for me to be able to play at length, and finding the sweet spot etc. This kind of took away the immersion, the scale is there but without being able to see properly it kind of made it pointless. All I really felt was the incredible potential. Sharpening the visuals up would make it amazing, it doesn’t have to be perfect being but not being able to see clearly beyond 10 feet bothered me a lot. I love the 1 to 1 scale and the use of Oculus Touch. So to be its probably just a generation to early for me, am looking forward to the advancements of VR.

I agree. I don't use my Vive much lately since all the amazing immersion is turned off by the "blurry" vision aka SDE and low res. That's why I can't wait to see how does Pimax 8K turn out, I'm an early backer and if it's half as good as it promises, it will really be mindblowing, so I'm happy waiting and meanwhile lowering my ridiculously huge 3d vision backlog that only keeps growing thanks to you guys.

I'll say this for VR though. I never really believed I could be frightened using VR, I consider myself as someone that has a strong stomach, no game ever has really frightened me and I'm just too old for these silly scares. but three spiders came down from a cave ceiling in Skyrim and I have to admit I jumped and damn near shit myself. I kind of realised I underestimated the power of having the majority of my vision replaced. I had a serious flight or fight moment, and that is something I have never had in 2D or 3D vision, ever. the presence can be frighteningly effective. with cleaner visuals I think I would actually use VR a lot.

That video is from the previous gen Rift, that Sega implemented support for in the game. For whatever reason, those scrubs at Sega, failed to implement support for the Vive or newer Oculus. However, there has been work at implemting Rift support for the newer model. https://www.roadtovr.com/mothervr-mod-alien-isolation-oculus-rift-nibre-zack-fannon/ (actually, this is also for the Vive) For the Vive, I believe bo3b made something, I'll find the thread. edit: found it https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1017632/

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/skyrim-vr-visual-noise-reduction-is-a-must-have-mod-that-increases-immersion-and-fixes-graphical-issues/ I'm not sure if this mod just alters ini settings https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHGv0GYl4Xg 3Dmigoto might be able to be altered to load with Skyrim VR and provide the same hot keys as used in 3D Vision to disable fog, hud, bloom or some of them, but perhaps fog is not a problem in the VR version Hotkeys - "F1": four convergence presets. Change them in "d3dx.ini" if you don't like them. - "F2": HUD depth presets. - "F3": bloom on/off. Not disabled by default. - "F4": fog on/off. Not disabled by default and not intended to be disabled. - "y": blood on screen effect. Not disabled by default. - "v": HUD X axis curvature presets. 0 by default. The other values are 1 and -1. - "b": HUD Y axis curvature presets. 0 by default. The other values are 1 and -1. - "n": general HUD curvature setting. Curvature is disabled by default. - ".": autocrosshair by DJ-RK, but this time as a hotkey. Disabled by default (it can interfere with some menus). - "k": HUD on/off. It's on by default. It will disable all menus, letters, cursors, etc.

That guy did an incredible job, it just works straight away! The performance is even great, I had real issues with stuttering in 3D vision. I could see myself playing it and being able the ignore the visual short falls. what a show case for VR, cant believe they didn't release that officially, with the success of Skyrim VR. sometimes I wonder about the idiots that make decisions in the gaming industry. Games like that make me want to take the plunge and get an Oculus. Skyrim didnt have that impact on me which could be down to lack of modding. I could imagine games like bioshock being great as well.
