3DTV Install Fails
I just purchased the 3DTV app and have attempted to follow the online instructions for installation but I have been unable to complete the process. The 3DTV Play Activation Utility gets though the System Check and License Agreement but, immediately after displaying "Preparing to Install", reports "Install Failed" with a big red X. Below this, there is an info box with columns for "Component", "Version", "Status" and under each heading it says "3DTV Play Activation Utility", "266.7", "Installed" in that order. The first time that this happened, I closed the utility and a window popped up asking for the license number. I entered that, but then the utility immediately locked up and I had to use Task Manager to shut it down. Afterwards, the Windows Control Panel/Programs page showed 3DTV as being installed and the program "C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\3DTV\3DVSerialize.exe" was present. However, double clicking the file, which the documentation says should launch the program manually, does nothing. I have since used Control Panel to remove the 3DTV app and driver to attempt a reinstall. However, the reinstall always fails as above reporting "Install Failed" at the same point and displaying the same columns and information. However, I have never had the popup window for the serial number return. Any guidance on where to go from here would be appreciated. 3DTV Play has a 5 activation limit, so you do not want to be uninstalling it necessarily. Although, you can get it reset if the need arises by calling Nvidia. When you are installing the drivers are you installing the 3D Vision portions? 3DTV Play is tied into these, they must be installed. Being that 347.25 has just been released, it may be a driver issue that I'm not aware of. I'd suggest trying some of the previous driver releases. Are you trying to game? or watch movies?

Thanks for the input D-Man11
When you are installing the drivers are you installing the 3D Vision portions? 3DTV Play is tied into these, they must be installed.
I'm not clear on what you mean by 3D Vision portions. As you noted, I did an install of the latest WHQL drivers before starting the 3DTV install thinking that being current on drivers was a prerequisite. After that, I started the 3DTV install which simply consists of clicking the link that downloads and starts the 3DTV Play Activation Utility. That utility bombs out almost immediately after displaying "Preparing to Install" and before I am given any install options. When installing drivers, there is an option to select custom install. Most people do this so that they can choose not to install portions of the driver that they do not use. Some chose to not install the 3D Vision drivers because they are utterly useless if you have no intention of stereoscopic gaming. The same can be said for GeForce Experience or the Audio drivers. Anyhow, just wanted to confirm that it's installed. The reason I asked game or movies, some drivers break 3D movie playback. To reinstall a newer or older driver I recommend DDU (Direct Driver Uninstaller), it works great. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/550192/geforce-drivers/wagnard-tools-ddu-gmp-tdr-manupulator-updated-01-22-2015-/ To find older drivers, select Beta and older drivers. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

I had issues installing 3d tv play too just yesterday, I solved them by doing a clean driver install, that is when you're going to install the drivers, choose custom install and check clean install.

I tried all of the advice listed above and nothing worked. I've since spent the last couple of hours in the Nvidia support chat room trying everything they could think of and nothing worked. They've informed me that the are escalating this to a level 2 issue and will contact me later by email. I'll post anything that results.

Hmm, you are connecting via a HDMi connection, correct? What driver are you currently on? Are you reading the patch notes? I recall one recently mentioning 3DTV Play install issues. What do you see in the NVCP under the "set up stereoscopic 3D" tab? If you see a green 3DTV Play logo, it's installed and working. You just need to check enable and complete the setup wizard. Nvidia has a 3DTV Play User Guide in pdf format that's available http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-overview.html Perhaps it's installed but for whatever reason the Display is not being recognized. You can try an EDID override from another display. http://3dvision-blog.com/tag/edid-override/ http://3dvision-blog.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2026

Hello, I'm having the same issue. I've got GeForce GTX 660 with 347.25 driver (the same driver as op) and Windows 10 TP. And I'm figuring it's the "3DVSerialize Application" that is the reason. It just won't start. It is in the Process Explorer, but it never shows up. You can start several instances simultaneously with nothing showing on the desktop. Looking forward for the op's new posts.

What display are you using? You should post this problem in the Windows 10 feedback thread. https://forums.geforce.com/default/board/33/geforce-drivers/ And also send a ticket to support. http://nvidia-submit.custhelp.com/app/answers/list submit bug
