I used a hack to make 3d vision run on my passive display. The 3D algorithm (depth, angles etc) is completely unchanged so it's a fair assessment of the 3D algorithm itself. In EVERY game I tested, tridef yields significantly more natural and realistic-looking results.
I understand that tridef lowers the framerate a bit more than nvidia 3d, but a performance boost doesn't mean anything if the world looks like crap.
Also, tridef features depth-buffer-3d method which obviously performs at about twice the fps of nvidia 3d.
For these reasons, if this monitor doesn't support tridef at 120 hz it would be somewhat of a dealbreaker for me.

GTA 4: Both nvidia and tridef fail to display lights properly at night. The halos of the lights will sometimes only play in one eye, and from behind objects too, causing disorientation. However, tridef has the depth buffer 3d option which looks just as good (but with tiny bit of blur around objects). Under depth buffer 3d ALL glitches are eliminated.
Bioshock infinite: tridef looks more real/natural
