CPU Upgrade for 3D Vision AMD v Intel

There are other small issues, but it will work. However, it's not an easy task to get everything installed. So if you plan on getting a z370 or z390 motherboard, plan on running Windows 10
Prior to buying one, if you own a Z370, you'd want to confirm compatibility on your motherboards support page. To accept a 9900K on a Z370, you'll need to update the motherboard's Bios. So make sure there is one available prior to purchase. The Z390 Mobos have support for the newer wireless feature with more bandwidth as well as better USB 3.1 support integration (native vs 3rd party).

That is correct! A Z370 will not work out of the box, unless you upgrade the BIOS first! A Z390 based Motherboard will work out of the box (but upgrading the BIOS to the latest version is also recommended if you want to overclock!) The i9 9900K uses the lga 1151 socket.
I would say it's not worth for most games. However, a lot of the games I play there is a difference. Games that I noticed a large improvement FFXV, that game maxed out my 7700k. Constant stutters in certain city places. 9900k does not have that issue. GTAV, Being able to hit 5.0 GHZ with 4233 Ram, helped. This game has 3dvision bug though. Deus Ex - Mankind Divided - Got Rid of the stutters in Prague. Also this game is good because it allows you to use SBS. Shadow of the Tomb Raider - See Helifax Above, also allows you to use SBS. For you it would also benefit for emulators since there was a decent increase to IPC.

I'd like to replay that game entirely on 3D but can't stand the choppy gameplay I get at 25 fps on my overcloedk 930

My framerate for gta5 in 4k3d is around the 40's-50's sometimes 60 , it greatly depends on the location and whats happening on screen, with a 4790k and 1080ti

I can get back with you on that, but mostly high/ultra I think. But using a 55 inch screen and no lightboost/ulmb, the framerate dips are more apparent vs a 3d vision monitor of the same fps. BUt 60fps is quite smooth.

Muojo, there is a detailed thread here which deals with your questions in depth. I'd go read it thoroughly, as it will answer most, if not all of your questions... https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/995196/3d-vision/how-important-is-cpu-performance-for-3d-vision-/1/

It seems that Intel is at it again. 9th Gen Processors are getting RO stepping, in place of the current PO stepping. It's suggested that these will be available in about a month. https://wccftech.com/intel-9th-gen-core-processors-new-stepping-300-series-bios-available/
