I'm having the same problem as the OP, I was getting bad ghosting/double vision (especially with white colors) I thought it was due to me recently changing drivers multiple times, so I even did a complete fresh OS install with no luck. I was even getting some ghosting when I had the 3d disabled...
I'm going to try unplugging the monitor today.

Sorry to reply to such an old thread. I've just setup 3d vision 2 surround for sim racing.
I also immediately noticed the ghosting (particularly with high contrast - trees against the sky background) mostly on the centre monitor, but also with the side monitors
I believe this is due the the TN panel and my low seating position giving me an upward angle looking at the monitors.
Running latest drivers, Win 10 home, GTX 1070, 3 x PG278Q, iracing/assetto corsa.
Lightboost enabled
I noticed this problem reinstalling 3d vision, where the setup app (showing the square in the left eye, and triangle in the right eye) was also ghosting. Only affecting the right eye, I could see both the triangle and square at the same time..
My solution was to alter the Contrast (with lightboost active) away from 50%. Higher and Lower numbers both improve this, and I think 17% contrast looks the best.
In sim, there is now almost no noticeable ghosting, 3d surround looks amazing. I could possibly achieve another solution by adding spacers to my VESA mounting, to tilt the monitors downwards so they're pointing more directly at me. But so far I'm happy with this.

Yes the only solution is to Lower contrast (I have mine to about 18%) and I am very happy with it now.
Another thing that improves things is go into NCP and overide the Gamma to .95. I also use 98,95,95 User color I think from memory, and then I think it looks great with minimal ghosting.
and yes this is a situation where the 3dvision test setup app wizard actually helps as you can adjust till there is no image bleed.
Lowing the contrast that low actually makes this monitor look much better in 3d mode so don't worry.
