I'm creating a game
  2 / 2
It is a 3D game so it's completely on topic, don't be ignorant. As a game developer I can make a game 3D Vision Ready for real. No annoying hardware mouse. Proper crosshair. Hud elements like health bars actually being drawn perfectly at depth for each individual UI element and not the simplistic solution of placing everything on the same depth. Unreal Engine 4 might have some flaws but with complete access to the source code anything can be fixed. Might do an arena shooter with instagib. Each server will host multiple sessions simultaneously. That was a really interesting feature of ricochet. Some games like the starwars MP games focus on 1on1 duels but there will generally be a queue of people waiting for the current session to end. Waiting a long time to be able to play is no fun. There should be a simple ELO ladder fluid transitions from one server to another. Twitch shooters require low latency so keeping latency low is of high priority. At one point there might be LAN events bringing the best players from around the world together to face each other face to face. I'm basically trying to resurrect the 1on1 fps basing it only on instagib with leaderboards and a server infrastructure. I know that games like quake and painkiller might be more interesting with all the item timers and multiple weapons but instagib has a special place in my heart. You have to be on your toes because as soon as you kill the enemy he could spawn anywhere and retaliate before you're even able to spot him. I'm considering making the game much more fast pace than standard arena shooters by drastically increasing runspeed maybe going twice as fast as the current norm. The arenas will be very open ended and you won't be able to hide behind a pillar or a rock. At all times you will be visible but the distances will be long enough to make long range shots hard to hit. The time betweem shots will be significant so you better hit your target or you become a sitting duck for a while. I believe the concept is pretty unique.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?

There are lots of old games which look excellent in 3D. To me, you're game does not sound like a "3D game". It sounds like an arena first person shooter with full 3D support. By the way, I am planning to make a game too. Currently, I am waiting for Source 2 to be released, hopefully, with a large quantity of tools and free art assets. Been waiting one year already. Anyone have news on Source 2 release date? The main thing I like about Valve and Source is that their games are often very mod friendly. My game would be started by me, and (hopefully) the mod community would make it shine. Plus, Valve owns steam. And seems to me, if I were to use Source 2, it might have better (free) marketing on steam. Almost forgot, source games usually look pretty good in 3D, and require not many fixes.
