Attempting to play 3D Blu-Ray Movie, one eye goes dark
I'm using: OS: Windows 8 Card: GeForce GTX 780 nVidia Driver: 320.18 Software: ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 6 Media: store bought 3D Blu-Ray film ("Brave" to be exact). Monitor: Asus VG278HD 3D: active nVidia Glasses Resolution: 1920x1080 (120) When I play the film, the software recognizes it as a 3D film as I can tell 3D mode is getting enabled. However, one eye goes "gray" and I can not see the screen and the other eye remains visible. I tried enabling and disabling 3D mode through the nvidia control panel and also switching to 60hz from 120. I also tried switching the software (Arcsoft) to a mode for passive displays (it played like normal 2D) and back with no change in the problem. Any ideas? Let me know if I've breached protocol or you need more information.

If you are connected via the Dual Link DIV(d) cable, you'll need to enable 3D Vision in the Nvidia control panel and run the set up wizard. Then use the 3D Vision option in the playback software. If you are connected via HDMI, it needs to be one of the display models supporting HDMI 1.4. Then you'd use the HDMI 1.4 option in the playback software. If it has an internal emitter, sometimes you'll have to unplug the power for the monitor to reset the emitter if it fails to initialize.

I'm connected via the Dual-link DVI Cable and I reran the setup wizard just to make sure. I should mention, all my games look fine in 3D and the youtube and other 3D videos on nVidia website play in 3D without a problem. I'm guessing it's something specific to the ArcSoft TotalMedia software.

Are you setting the "Display" option in TMT6? http://www.arcsoft.com/totalmedia-theatre/tutorial/how-to-set-viewing-environment.html Maybe try setting your desktop to 120Hz before launching TMT6.

I appreciate the help. Unfortunately, TMT6 already set all of my 3D settings correctly automatically. I tried changing them and then changing them back to make sure. The desktop is currently set to 120Hz. I'm currently going through the options in TMT6 but they do not give a lot of nuanced settings.

On a lark, I downloaded Cyberlink PowerDVD trial. It runs without a problem. Luckily I was running a trial of TotalMedia so no harm done. Looks like I'll be buying the Cyberlink software instead.
