Yah, that could be the solution that some people need for streaming with a Shield or possibly a Steam Link.

This has nothing to do with 3D vision or even sbs support.

Awesome! That the "one man mod" it works on "Consumer Oculus Rift Software"! But...what does it have to do with 3D Vision or 3DMigoto... ? Oh, NOTHING!
Better move this to the VR section of the forums! Here it will not catch any interest!
Funny how people still post VR stuff in the 3D Vision section. No pun intended. But, from what I see VR is currently a PROPER GIMMICK software wise! Yes, let's use that word. I mean we are bashing 3D Vision for "adopting" Compatibility Mode (z-buffer/depth-buffer stereo) but 90% of the games supported by VORPX are CM MODE! What the hell guys?!?!?! It seems the VR had better PR than 3D Vision! FAKE 3D IS STILL FREAKING FAKE 3D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Want to play all those awesome games THAT RUN on PROPER Stereo 3D (Geomety 3D) thanks to our FIXES, in 3D Vision on VR?
Well, YOU CAN'T!!! Instead use "Virtual Cinema" gimmicky mode...PFF... (Which basically display the same 2D Image on top of 2 RECTs that are displayed in 3D.... I can't see how something can get MORE GIMMICKY than this... CM at least generates A DIFFERENT image for the 2nd eye from the z-buffer...)

Well tbh we all knows whats going on but kind of been ignoring it even though this is probably like the third post in a week. People are trying "attract" [poach] to look go mod for Vorpx. Which would be much more wise if people waited till they actually got VR or actually tried Vorpx..... Hype blinds common sense.
I don't think most people understand that there is little incentive to do so.
Our libraries are here. Our time/effort. Credit goes where its deserved.
Helix developed helixmod
Bo3b/Darkstarsword/chiri/WHOMEVER worked on 3dmigoto.
WHOMEVER worked on patch worked on patch.
Everyone knows these things.
People work on patches to help community and I think above all else pride in work. We often don't even post patches if we aren't happy with it.
Its not even the money. Credit will always go to Ralph and it will always be a product [with harsh drm].
Even IF its possible... no one is going to spend XX/XXX hours on a patch to just be a cog.

So why don't one of you make your fixes work in VR?
That way you can get more people massaging your egos instead of scoffing at the back of the room like a pair of elitist beard strokers who's about to have their favourite past time die off over night.
That way everybody would be happier.
Why wouldn't you want your fixes to work in VR?

Good gracious, man. You're gonnna charm their pants off right here.
Personally think Vorpx is stupid anyways. Aside from the lag, I just feel it's terrible because of locomtion issues. Heck, even Half-Life 2, which had official support and no extra lag, was terrible from my POV. I could never play for more than 15 minutes tops (tried 2 or 3 times).
The only way, for me, any of these shoe-horned solutions are of any interest is if they're playing on a virtual screen (so there's no locomotion issues). It's why Virtual Desktop getting 3D Vision to work would be my dream scenario for legacy games.

Ok maybe a bit harsh in the wording but I think it's accurate.
Nvidia should hire these fixers, relaunch 3D vision and implement their own vorpx that work with 3D vision ready games and the 3D community fixes.
Is it because the people on this forum have amazing talent at fixing things but no business accumine?
thinking about it I would be annoyed if people took my work and made money from it.
Is this what vorpx Ralph is trying to do?
I used to compose music for games back in the day and had to take a few companies to court over using my music without permission.
I've also had producers rip my ideas off before which doesn't feel very good either.
I'm sure all the talented people on here could come up with a vorpx competitor which supports real 3D gaming in VR.
That way they could get paid for it too.
If know I'd pay!
Didn't mean to offend anyone with the last post. Just trying to understand the situation that's all.

If I would have a lot of free time to do this, earn a living from doing this working directly with hardware companies and so on, I WOULD QUIT MY JUST THIS INSTANCE and I would do this!
Sadly, this is not the case...
I am actually glad on what Ralph achieved! And is awesome! I wasn't bashing the guy! What I was saying is that Nvidia made Compatibility Mode for 3D Vision. People bashed it from the first minute. VorpX uses a Virtual Cinema Mode which is basically putting one flat image in a 3D screen (the same thing you can do with a 2D Image in Photoshop and view the image in 3D with Image viewer). Yet no one says HOW bad this looks!
At least CM provided some 3D Depth of objects.... Virtual Cinema is just 2D in a 3D space... Yet no one complains about it...this is because of the current VR hype!
I was attacking the software approach and idea not the guy or his work...
Also when VR kicks in force (this summer) I will be working on porting my OpenGL-3DVision wrapper to VR (limited to the free time I have...)
STOP posting HERE about vorpx, VR or Virtual Desktop!!
This thread is for SBS and TB Mode feature in 3Dmigoto for 3DVision/3DTV play.
Not sure if this is directed at me, but I don't see why Virtual Desktop is forbidden. As far as I'm concerned, SBS 3D Vision support would most benefit Virtual Desktop.
This board likes to often link to an LG that does passive 3D, but that set isn't even available in the US. And you can bet when the European line gets updated again, they'll ditch it too. 3D doesn't sell TVs. It's been established by now.
So why not talk about Virtual Desktop? It does SBS 3D on a virtual screen in VR. This is the best (and far and away most mainstream) use this would have.

Who said they didn't, most are taking a wait and watch approach. There's no need for name calling. FFS the Rift barely launched and the Vive is a month out. Also I'm sure that coders and fixers would like to enjoy/experience a few VR games without being hounded about bringing other games to VR. Why ruin the experience for them? Let them have some peace.
Just like when a new game launches, it takes a while for a fix to materialize. That's if one does, it's purely voluntary.
If and when community fixes reach VR, it will be at whatever pace that the individuals working on it choose, not a moment sooner.
So why the angst? You chose to be an early adapter, no one forced you.
