Hello all, been a while since I've posted but I've recently came across a game that is part of one of my family's favorite game series, the LEGO themed titles that usually are somewhat playable out of the box. As the title states the game is LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2; ok so what are the issues and what have I tried:
---
The Issue:
3D Vision DOES kick in upon launch but 'flickering' as if the refresh rate is to low, and as a result there is NO depth at all, glasses are functioning but image is the same whether you use them or not. Totally unplayable.
---
What I've tried:
1.) Various resolutions ranging from 1920 x 1080 to 5860 x 1080 - no change.
2.) Various Refresh Rates ranging from 60 - 119 (120) - 144 - no change.
3.) Different Profiles using Nvidia Inspector - no change.
4.) Older Driver - 347.88 to Newer Driver 384.80 - no change
5.) Different OS's (I Don't Use 10) Both Win 7 (x64) & Win 8.1 (x64) - no change.
6.) Checked PCCONFIG.TXT for game (@ C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment\LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2)
a) AllowNVIDIAStereo 1 - Present and set to '1'(ON) by Default
b) Also turned off EVERY non-essential Graphics Option (Bloom, AA, DOF, Motion Blur etc.)
c) No Change
7.) Last but not least, edited the EXE changing the 3 entries of 'nvapi.dll' to 'nvbapi.dll' - which essentially disables (as I understand it) '3D Vision Automatic.'
--- THIS WORKED, BUT ONLY enough to allow actual separation and depth, in other words it is now the status of a 'typical' 'shaders are broken' game - still unplayable, but does 'fix' the initial issue with the unfortunate side effect of causing still other issues.
-----
Any thoughts or questions, please respond below, and thank you for reading my Topic!

@Soulketcher
You know i'm going to fix this game :)) My kid don't skip any LEGO games!!
But this time i made a set of ShaderRegex to fix on the fly, so eventually future LEGO games will be fixed with this!!.....so far the game is fixed with 2 ShaderRegex. (Shadows, Lights, REflections and Halos). I still need to look the HUD, now i know how to make them dynamics.

That flickering issue don't goes away with the "automatic_mode=1" that normally disables the game render. Need to edit the .EXE (change nvapi64.dll to nbapi64.dll in 3 spots).

Thanks DHR - I was waiting to dive into this one. As you know, we don't miss a Lego game in our house, either! :)
Speaking of which - just got back into Lego LOTR - a real gem.
Thank you DHR, you are the BEST! Sounds great for the future with ShaderRegex - as it seems 2 things are constants: 1) LEGO will NOT stop making games; and 2) They are VERY consistent with their engine seemingly tweaking out/adding on to a very solid code base, but it's curious though; considering they STILL make it a point to include the 'AllowNvidiaStereo' option (I know, it's probably just 'there' for the same reason the fixes are predictable) in their config files, and it seems it wouldn't take much to make sure it works BEFORE release, even if it is both convergence locked and set a bit too high/much for even the most seasoned 3D vision user. But I digress, thank you again for looking at this!
---
@ TheBigDogma, love LEGO LOTR, but for some reason, I have a very special place in my heart for 'LEGO Hobbit' - in general, all around fun games!
---
Sort of off topic, have you guys tried LEGO Worlds? Fun game, but has had some issues, was ok 3D wise during EA, then after one update the character disappeared when 3D enabled, I think they fixed it for the official release, but 2 player has issues I believe. I'd have to try it again, but just curious, not a big deal.

Fix is up:
http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2017/12/lego-marvel-super-heroes-2-dx11.html
This fix also include a Set of ShaderRegex for LEGO ENGINE. I test in LEGO Ninjago and LEGO Undercover and works in those games. So fixing future LEGO games will be easier with this Universal fix. There are still some Halos that ShaderRegex don't catch because don't follow a pattern, those need a manual fix...also the HUD, always complicated in LEGO games.
*** ShaderRegex included:
- 1 ShaderRegex for Shadows, Lights and Reflections
- 1 ShaderRegex for Blob Shadows
- 2 ShaderRegex for Halos

very strange if you change the text (3 spots) in the exe and still have the flickering. changing that fix the flickering...
make sure you change it in the 3 spots and use notepad++ (not the normal version)
LOL... yep, confirmed... I am an idiot - forgot to save the .exe after making the changes in Notepad ++ :)
Thanks once again for your work... PP donation on the way!
Hi guys.
I tried this fix and it works perfectly with 1080p. With 1440p (native resolution) or any other resolution, bloom renders @screen depth. Does anyone know why?
Thank you.
Using latest drivers and gtx 1080.
