betc I think you lucked out plugging into HDMI 1. I'm sure your tv is the same as mine, less the extra motion plus speed and ultimate black vs my professional black (I think that's auto dim). If you look at the HDMI ports each is labeled - HDMI 1 (DVI), HDMI 2 (ARC), HDMI 3 (MHL). ARC is some audio return for ARC supported soundbars or receivers and MHL is for playing content from mobile devices on the TV with HD pic and sound. Interesting. So HDMI 1/DVI is the only one that works for 3D gaming. Otherwise the 3DTVP doesn't see the 3D TV.
I got the control panel to activate the 3DTVP functions. I just need to actually try it out tonight.
Thanks for all the help and info!

Interesting that the other HDMI ports do not work, I'll have to remember that if someone else is having trouble.
You might need to rename your HDMI input to PC or gaming though, to reduce input lag caused by post processing.

Yeah, I'll be changing the label to PC. I'll get it going tonight. I suspected that the other HDMI ports were the issue, when I kept reading about HDMI bandwidth, and to go with DVI-D.
D-Man11 do you have a Sammy TV?
Anyone else with a Sammy, want to try a different HDMI port and see if it still works?
As soon as I plugged into HDMI 1 I got all the 3DTVP options, even advanced - convergence. Can't wait to check this out. Hope it's not a let down ;) Crysis 2/3 on Xbox 360 looked pretty nice in 3D, and 2D-3D conversion of Borderlands 2 is good.
I really want to see the dollhouse/toy/pop out!! Like Captain EO!! Yeah I said it...CAPTAIN EO!

Captain Eo flippin rocked my young socks off 20 years ago. Its "window-to-the-world" 3D is one of the reasons i knew 3D could be a huge success. Its to bad movies must make so many compromises, if they've just constrain the seating to half the theater, i wonder if they could make 3D as good as EO.

^ Good, I assume we are close to the same age. :) EO was pretty awesome! Apprantly Doug Benson is a backup dancer. A friend mentioned there is an animated movie at Disney World I believe, that has the same effect as EO. He said it was pretty amazing. So how similar will 3D gaming be to the EO effect?

I have an awesome Samsung 2D HDTV, purchased before 3D HDTVs were made. But not a 3D one.
2D-3D conversion is not good for gaming, it's all done via post processing and has terrible delay/input lag. Plus other inherent problems.
Be sure you click on "Set Key Shortcuts" in the Set Up Stereoscopic 3D panel and check the box to "Enable Advanced in-game settings"
Will do! Thanks! The pic quality on the Sammys are super nice. I owned a Vizio before this, and one of the firmware updates reduced the PQ and lowered the smooth motion effect, which I personally like. My bro in law has almost the same tv as me, 3D and all, but 2 years older, he thinks mine looks better and is smoother. Both look great.
I like the 2D/3D conversion for what it is. I turn on all the post processing on this TV, yeah I know what the videophiles will say. The main lag I get is from motion plus, which I have set to manual settings to reduce any lag. I did finally find the game mode hidden away, but have yet to try it, since it says it speeds up games and may cause lag. Which is the opposite of what I thought game mode was for, I thought it disabled all the processing effects to reduce lag. Can't wait to try this out tonight!

Because 3D vision/tridef and i think the Oculus Rift are all fully adjustable, the 3D really should look like your looking through a window to another world, only limited by resolution and current graphics technology. If it doesn't, a setting is probably off.
I think i mentioned this already, but FOV (in-game setting and screen FOV based from viewing distance) plays a part in how it looks because it changes the size of things in terms of how much field of vision they take up; ie, a tree trunk up close takes up a huge part of your vision vs. it being a 10 meters away. How close do you plan to sit from your TV? My 46ES7500 is on the back of my desk, less than a meter away, offering a wide FOV for games that allow you to adjust it.

totally agree with Libertine, you cant get close enough to the TV! i try to make the tv fit the outer rim of the glasses. one of my favorite scenes is getting into the space transport shuttle in Deadspace 3, it really feels like you're there as things seem close to their real size.
just please try games other than Crysis 2/3 and Borderlands 2. personally i dont think they are good examples of depth 3D.
get the Trine 2 demo off steam for free. then you will know beyond any doubt that 3D (convergence/depth) is working as you will be spanked silly by the depth!

Almost there! Found out that I have a splitter going to my receiver, which was causing me the issue of the 3D not activating. So not really an HDMI port issue. Now I need to research a bit to get it to run at 30 hz, get the convergence to work - I did set the key shortcuts, but nothing is really changing in game.
I went through the setup, and I can select HDTV glasses, the 3D demo works fine. I can see all of the 3D options on my TV, checkerboard etc... The thing is when I turn on steroscopic, my TV autmatically turns on the 3D and doesn't give me the option to select what type of 3D to use. The demo looks fine, in game I can't really tell it's in 3D. I'll do more searching on here and get it running hopefully tonight.

Well I have a LG 32" tv I just used a modded INF from 3D vision blog (forums). It shows the TV as a Acer HR274h. So Nvidia 3d Vision works perfect as Passive works great.

The stereo format that is output is selected in the Nvidia control panel via a drop down menu.
Depth adjustment has an overlay indicating the amount.
Convergence does not have an overlay, but the shorcut keys must be enabled. When adjusting convergenge, it can easily take 30 seconds or so before anything begins to move, so patiently hold the keys and give it a lil time. The best way to observe the adjustment, is to peek over the glasses. Simply looking thru the glasses, you really do not notice the adjustment when it begins.
