Extension cable for the VESA Sync cord VESA Cable
Hi

I been looking hard to find something that would extend the VESA sync cable. I seen that it is supposedly a standard 2.5mm audio plug. My first question is extending this cable another 5-6ft going to cause problems. Reason I need an extension is I use a projector which sits behind my lazyboy and the emitter can't get good line of sight with glasses and wig out from time to time. Also didn't make much sense I got a 10ft usb cable but you decided to skimp on the VESA cord at barely over 2ft.

Also why the heck are you using infrared to begin with should of used bluetooth or even a 2.4ghz RF transmitter much more reliable and doesn't require perfect line of sight. These are $150 glasses shouldn't have 3 decade old tech in them. Also a redesign in the comfort of the glasses is I think warranted.

Well, I just got my 3D vision kit last week, and the first thing I needed was a longer VESA cable, since I'm using the Acer projector.

I went to Radio Shack, and they have conversion plugs for 2.5mm to 3.5mm, and for 3.5mm to 2.5mm, so I'm going to use them with a standard mini plug extension cable I have.

Unfortunately, the Shack was out of one of the adapters. It was supposed to come in Tuesday, but the massive ice storm hit St. Louis.

But I assume this solution will work. You can probably order the adapters cheaper online, if your willing to wait.

I agree about using bluetooth or some wireless transmitter. Infrared is a poor solution for something like 3D shutter glasses, compared to a remote, where its fine. But on the other hand, infrared is better then the white flash most 3D shutter glasses use.

Personally, I find the glasses surprisingly comfortable. I guess it depends on the size of your head. Mine seems to be just right for the glasses.

But one bad thing is the price for a spare pair of glasses, $150. I think they would sell more spare pairs if the price was lower.
