I got Portal working, sadly when you do the "portals" no longer show in 3D :(, kinda defeats the purpose. Half-Life 2:Lost Coast is looking wicked awesome, shooting that dang copter is so much fun, I chucked some grenades at it even!

But Live for Speed is Great! :)
Doing this does not give me other options, only anaglyph. I´ve test with 162.15 and 162.50 stereo drivers, and there is no difference, stereo3d works but only with anaglyph  mode.

It is curiouse that if I plug the CRT monitor and unplug the two TFTs then I can choose all stereo3d types (now I am with CRT and shutterglasses).

Did you?:

1. Go to device manager to uninstall the card.

2. Use Driver Sweeper from Guru3D.com to remove the nVidia Display drivers.

3. Install the 162.50 drivers.

4. Then switch to the classic control panel by using the SedonaDisable registry trick: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=32542

5. Now install the Stereo 162.50 drivers. This will ensure that you get everything fresh.
Hi mopheta,

regarding the driver, try adding this to your registry ...

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D]
"ShowAllViewerTypes"=dword:FFFFFFFF

This is what Zalman does to enable all stereo options in nVidia drivers.

Oruq

My ShowAllViewerTypes is set to 1 . I just checked. I don't know what that means, maybe the 162.50 is different.

Nubie, as you show in your photos (great work), you have one monitor rotated and the other not. Nvidia drivers doesn´t let us to rotate only one screen in clone mode (you must rotate the two monitors). What have you done to do this rotation in only the up/horizontal monitor?.

This rotation is important because tft monitors usually have view angles to be viewed just in front and with a good margin if we put our eyes at higher position than the monitor. But if the monitor is at higher position than our eyes, quickly the image turns dark, and it is what happend with the up/horizontal monitor image mirrored if the monitor is in his normal position, so it is important to rotate it.

As you can see, the tops of both screens are together, seen through the mirror they both have the same viewing angle.

Since you are looking at the screen through the mirror, you get the exact same viewing angle on both.

My only driver settings are Clone Mode and The stereo driver setting you see here. The top monitor is always mirrored in 2D mode. When a 3D application starts in full-screen the drivers handle everything. I leave the top monitor off when I am not using 3D.

Edit: I forgot to add, you should probably be using Forceware 93.81 (and don't forget to do the driver cleaning I recommended):

Ok, thanks for the info. I have used "Dual VGA with mirror up/dwn", and yes, it has all the sense that using "Planar mirror left/right" gives the "rotation" that we need in only one monitor (I never tried this stereotype with this mirror position). I will try it in two or three days.

Some news, iZ3D will be including Planar support in their 1.09 release drivers (could have been in the 1.08 drivers, but they didn't realize all it needed was a mirrored output for the second display, in fact they will work if your second screen can mirror in the firmware).

This will be great considering the prices on the lineup of great cards out now. A lot of entry-level gaming cards can be had new from $100 now, 9600GSO/9600GT/8800GT to mention a few, really anything G92 based. If the drivers come out I will probably be looking around for a good card under/around $100 (finally can ditch the aging 7900 card for good :) )

Newbie here. This setup has piqued my curiosity.

I have a triplehead display. The left and right monitors are angled slightly inward.

Could I use a single piece of glass that's angled with respect to the center monitor (which is parallel to the wall)? How important is the angle of the glass?

If I'm diagramming this right, the glass would be fine... but the monitors could never be arranged correctly. The perpendicular monitors would always overlap. Foiled again!

Ah, but what if I used a Fresnel Lens to increase the image size? The monitors could be smaller, yet project an image of the same size as the direct-angle monitors. The mind boggles...
