Deus Ex (original) no 3D recognized as Excellent but no 3d
Just downloaded the original Deus Ex (GOTY edition) for my pre-order of Human Revolution, and I can't get 3D to work despite the game being recognized as 'Excellent' on startup. The emitter is green, I can turn on/off the nvidia laser site etc, but I get no separation on the images and so no 3D. I have also installed the d3d10 renderer as suggested here and all that seems to be working perfectly fine, I just can't get actual 3D anywhere along the line. I'm using the D3D render path, native resolution, etc. Help?!? /wallbash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wallbash:' />

I suggest trying the following mods
http://www.helderpinto.com/deusex-ultra-high-quality-mod-v01/
http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-nameless-mod/tutorials/improving-deus-exs-graphics-with-mods
and running in dx9 mode.

Thank you, dx9 mode seems to do the trick.

I'm still pissed at Nvidia for removing DX8 and earlier support. As if they couldn't have just left it in its current state and just not updated it anymore. No, they had to remove it to force people to buy new games and hence new GPUs that support said new games. I wish I'd have gotten into 3D before 3D Vision came along and changed how Nvidia approached stereoscopy. So many old games from 1998-2003 I'd love to play in 3D.

Of course perish the thought of taking 30 seconds to update the old list in the NCP that still shows hundreds of no-longer-supported games. I'm convinced they intentionally continue to leave the old list there to nab any unsuspecting customers that don't bother to check the newer official (and tiny) list on the site and buy 3D Vision for old nostalgic games.

:)
I remember the good old days, dx7 and OGL games running in s-3d. Many games were great in s-3d, due to the lack of post-processing (Giants, Sacrifice,Jedi Outcast, MDK and many more). But the OGL games were awesome, I still regret not having finished Doom3, Q4 and Prey before I moved to a new system. One can still build an old system for these and play them on a CRT with shutters, or on a LCD with anaglyph glasses, but why the bother, when support was present and they simply chose to remove it.
Too bad the http://forums.stereovision.net/ site isn't active. There was a whole community there with screenshots, fixes, etc.

There's a new mod to try out - New Vision. In the comments, somebody got an error because they didn't have DirectX 10! <drool>
