So checking the nvidia profile this game rates a fair, does anyone know what engine it's running on? If it's unreal I might buy it since someone tends to do a fix for games based on that one, the pre-order gun tickles my fancy, but crap 3d kills games for me now.

So I checked and it's an unreal engine game, and I've started it up and there are broken lights and shadows everywhere.

They are not letting any publications post reviews prior to release and the sites that ignored that are saying its terrible. Sega is known for getting popular franchises rights and just giving the devloper a very low budget. Its heavily modified UE3 with unique shadow/lighting. I really wouldnt have high hopes considering the nature of the game and that shadows/lighting is a fiew 1000 shaders.

Yeah I'm kinda glad I didn't pay more than $30 for it, it's got some pretty crap textures in places, animations are a bit bodgey and the firearms sound a lot like cap guns except for the pulse rifle. Story seems alright though so far, and they have captured the tone of the movies well.

Strange, mine said 3D Vision Ready which got me excited, but then I saw the shadows... The game also crashed when I pressed 'Q' to bring up the motion tracker a couple of minutes into the Campaign. Not a great start. Only cost me £20 on SimplyGaming though.

Yeah, gave it a quick try and the shadows are broken along with possibly some other issues, all of which are sadly becoming a standard these days with 3D Vision. It would also be good to have a right mouse click mod for ironsights in order to have higher depth/convergence values. Hopefully Helix & co will find a way to fix this.

How can you make a game for 5 years and release it in such terrible state, what the hell have they been doing?

Anytime time I see the name Gearbox as developer, I cringe. Not a big fan, their development style always seem to take the lazy route for certain features. DNF was a super stinker and the only way I would even consider ACM is some kind of 3D compatibility along with a $4.99 price tag...

@stryker Borderlands 1/2 is good. I was watching a 20 minute of a let's play and he ran into 3 bugs in that time frame. Game visually looks very dated, it doesnt hold a candle to other UE3 games that are MUCH bigger (borderlands 2/mass effect 3).

@eqzitara I have Borderlands 1 since I received it part of a package set I got for like $9 on amazon. It had Bioshock 1/2 + DNF and all DLC's + Borderlands 1 GOTY. Couldn't pass up that deal...got it mainly for Bioshock 2 and DNF. I wanted to play DNF to see why it got berated so bad by Duke fans and the press...yeah what a stinker DNF turned out to be...Gearbox didn't do a good job with it...most of the games I played by Gearbox have never impressed me, too consolish. I know there is a lot of positive feedback with the Borderlands series. I did play a bit of Borderlands 1 and the 3D is pretty good with the fix of course. I've only played into for about an hour, I like the robot dude but otherwise it hasn't grabbed me. Does it pick up in the later content? I'll probably go back to it eventually to give it more time...

If you dont like beginning, you probably wont like it later tbh. BL1 felt a little bit "slow paced" in my opinion. I enjoyed it overall though. Im a little biased with BL2 though but... 2 is an improvement in every category especially action but if you have no interest in 1 its doubtful. Though its okay to skip BL1, its not like you will miss much. Playing with someone else also makes it alot more enjoyable. There is a preview of 2 on my youtube channel if you want to see it though. I hate the fact I got suckered into pre-ordering this game. If it was 3D Ready I might play it, maybe, but the graphics look crude at best, the 3D is all shot to hell, there is no atmosphere in the game, and the dialogue is pants. I really wish I could have my money back. Please DONT BUY THIS unless you have played a friends copy first or you had one delivered by Mr P. Bay (you know, that dude with the peg leg and the eye patch)...
