HUD Stereo Settings Separation, Convergence - what's diff?
Hi All,

I've been experimenting with the separation (CTRL-F3,F4) and convergence (CTRL-F5,F6) and I'm not sure if there is a difference in how these settings adjust your screen.

As I enhance the 3d effect with the separation settings, my game HUD splits - eventually to the point where it goes off the screen if I choose to.

The convergence seems to do the same thing - but in smaller increments.

Is there a difference between these two options other than quantity or step level?

Is there a way I can go to town with the game depth, but adjust the HUD separately so it doesn't split with the screen?

Thanks in advance,

Seperation is basically the "how crossed your eyes go" part of the driver... At zero seperation you have no 3d, and at 100% you have the maximum effect.

Adjusting convergence is like moving the 3d objects you are seeing towards and away from you, but this also usually effects the HUD layer as well.

For the most 3d Possible, move the convergence so your HUD seems to be far away from you and then increase seperation until the HUD reaches screen depth.

As for adjusting the HUD seperately, you just have to rely on the fact that the game designers have put the HUD at a reasonable depth compared to the rest of the environment, which tbh is quite rarely... who cares about us weirdos anyway i ask you?
