I had noticed whilst playing Skyrim AO was off, but I checked the Nvidia control panel and it was on. For whatever reason, AO doesn't want to work when I'm in 3D mode. To see if it was a fluke I loaded another game that doesn't support AO through the ingame options, Mass effect. Functions fine when it starts in 2D mode, but in 3D mode it vanishes.
Is this normal behavior?
Thanks.

This is the major problem I have with 3d visions "profiles". It may depend on profile attached to game similiar to physx.(Borderlands 2) If people can list games that do support it, you may be able to try profiles of those games. Certain profiles have certain "compatiblity flags" to support certain features/ fix certain issues. I talk about how to use different profiles here. Again, I may not be right. But I've ran into profile issues so much that it just sounds like it though their may be a profile to allow forced AO but nothing else will work right. Generally when their is a major problem with a game(besides it just not working) I blame profile.... and I tend to be right. Especially sinced forced AO was added long after release and they generally don't change profiles once added.
