ATI Stereo 3D Next Month! Bad news for camp green
Looks like ATI will be releasing drivers in March that allow 3rd party driver developers in on the action. HMM, New DX11 Card, Quality DDD Drivers with autoconvergence, and to top it all off i get a choice on what glasses to use! This is a gamechanger.

Looks like there is a new sheriff in town! One huge reason for Nvidia to open up it's driver/display policy a bit.

Damn I need to buy a new Motherboard processor memory and graphics card. that's what I get for going with a SLI specific board.

Well competition always help in the development of better products. So may be we can expect better drivers from nvidia in terms of widespread support. At the moment they are not customizable at all. Lot of people got screwed because of their 3D display detection algorithm after cd v1.15.

I would love to see drivers which are more customizable at the user level. The user should be able to add displays which are not detected automatically. They are spending lot of time and efforts (and money of course ) to improve the display detection algorithm. But this is a waste, all they need to do is let the user specify what kind of display it is. It may not be good for all users but at least the advanced users can adjust these settings. But I guess the reson for this is that Nvidia want to make money in the certification process. So I guess all the extra efforts and money they are spending in detection algorithms are worth it.

It's a damned good thing. Anything that improves the availability and increases competition and therefore exposure to the public is a really great thing, for both us and nVidia. I am hoping ATi kicks ass with their 3d solution and pushes nV to work a little hardware on 3d vision profiles.

Hey guys, I'm going to sell my 2 GTX 285 and 3D Vision for an ATI card (and bit cauldron glasses) , which one gives similar performance to the 285? What ATI card do you recommend for S3D gaming?

ATi is allowing the use of 3D, however they themselves aren't working on the drivers, they are depending on 3rd party support (like IZ3D) to do it. So I doubt it'll even compete with Nvidia's offer, unless we get an amazing 3rd party driver writer.

I wouldn't be jumping ship anytime soon, that's for sure.
