3D on LCD Edimmensional glasses
hi, this setting (vrex interlaced) makes interlaced 3D mode in 3D nvidia accelerated programs/games etc. As far i know, Its only way to use ed glasses at LCD monitor. To turn it on, install latest stereo drivers and there is simplified way to use it, just go to 3D config window and choose it.

i guess you'r using ED software, ok, for me only 1/10 games worked properly on it, thats why i described a way to use this glasses in interlaced mode ONLY with nvidia drivers, now works 95% of games.

Show all viewer types registry key was used for older drivers that didnt display all viewer types  :D
[post="44306"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]
I looked for this setting in the stereo properties, and there was nothing at all about interlacing. there is a button under "Screen Resolutions and Refresh Rates" that says "advanced Timing". when choosing this, there is an "interlaced" mode that I tried to play with, and was far more frustration that it was worth. is this what you are talking about? I see no other options on the video or stereo properties.

if you have installed nvidia graphic driver and the same version of stereo driver, click right on desktop --> properties-->settings tab-->advanced
-->geforce xxxx tab-->stereo properties, there is "stereo type" list, and choose VREX.

do not change anything with your display settings, leave normal settings (not interlaced!)

There is no such option. where is says "Stereo Type", there are only 2 options: "DDC VGA Glasses (IO Display)" and "Anaglyph (red/blue glasses)". I looked in the manual for the nvidia drivers, and it only mentions those 2 modes of display. Nothing is mentioned about interlaced. Do you have another driver version than what I'm using (once again, I'm using the 71.89 driver pair).

Does anyone else see the option for interlaced that tomruman is refering to?

if you cant see nothing more, add dword to registry: "ShowAllViewerTypes" (should be in HKey_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Nvidia Corporation\Global\Stereo3D\), and set it to 1, after this you'll see all modes.

All this is described by many people in stereovision.net forum (go to support forum)

I did as you said, and it did add the full list of display types. cool. I then switched it to horizontal interleaved, turned on the e-d controller to reverse interlaced, and started the Nvidia demo. it is doing the same thing it was before. the bottom looks 3d, then fades to double at the middle, then fades to inside out 3d at the top. identical to how it was before. any other ideas?

try to change resolutions, it is essential here; use max or desktop resolution. Try also to change stereo separation, maybe you are not experienced in 3D, to lower separation use ctrl+F3, (more ctrl+F4), or convergence (ctrl+F5 and ctrl+F6)

well, I am experience in 3d... I've had the glasses for something like 3 years. I tried every resolution, and it's still doing the same thing. perhaps your method only works with some LCD monitors. anyone else able to make this work???
you're right, we only need nvidia flip feature - but still there isnt such a thing that is suitable here...no setting can horizontally mirror the screen...you can do nothing with this...

3d image - of course its true 3D stereoscopic, nvidia drivers are sending two different images to monitors. I recommend you try this.

as for this system, its very simple - you have 2 different images rendered in computer via stereo driver, and they are separatelly on 2 monitors. Mirror is only for one thing - for one eye to see only second monitor, and system is adjusted in a way to see both screens in the same position.
[post="40556"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]
I have the same exact problem with my Samsung 710N LCD monitor and 6600GT. Maybe it has something to do with how the LCD redraws. Bottom is perfect, middle is doubled and top is reversed.

Thanks,
Ryan

Yup, latest drivers. Here is a description of my problem:

I recently purchased the edimensional Wireless glasses. Running just the nvidia drivers, I get stereo on the monitor, but no 3D with the glasses on and working (ie I can still see both images). It seems like the Glasses and LCD are out of sync. If I run the E-Dim driver (games to oslow) or the E-D.exe with nvidia, I can get some 3D, but it only works in the test app and Far Cry. Even so, the bottom of the screen has a good 3D effect, but the top does not (again, both left and right images can be seen by both eys). Is there hope for my setup? I have tried many combinations of E-D.exe options. Here are my specs:

78.01 Stereo and Vid drivers
Samsung 710N LCD Monitor
Leadtek 6600GT
AMD +3000
MSI K8N Neo4-F

I can get nice CRT for next to nothing on Craigslist, but they are too heavy to caryy on the subway!

Thanks,
Ryan

1. i saw similar effect with ED on LCD in page flip mode; in line-sequential on my Belineas (15 and 19inch) it worked fine, check it on another LCD...
2. you have ED module connected directly to computer?
3. what mode do you have sellected in nvidia stereo panel?

A good solution for me to see stereo3D with LCD monitor is using anaglyph glasses (good glasses, not glasses done with bad papers). I´ve bought a plastic glasses and the stereo is good enough to play. Only some ghosting and some colors not very well, but the whole result is better than using shutterglasses with LCD.

Only two monitors with a mirror can be better, but you need a good mirror, two monitors, more space in the desk, and a good nvidia driver (actual driver supporting this system has bugs for me).

I´ve experienced that anaglyph is a good system to play some games (other games doesn´t work very well).

i think there are 2 good solutions - z800 HMD and 2-monitor setup; , 2-monitor setup is quite bulky but give high resolutions, and z800 is ok for for all applications; projectors give giant stereo, but its expensive and require quite big room; anaglyphs are useable only for 10% of games for me, ghosting is HEAVY no matter what glasses i've used; after using my eyes see unnatural colors for some time, its unpleasant. having experience from all stereo setups - ... my z800 from cyberworld is arriving at friday :D :D :D

Mopheta, could you please list the games which do work well with anaglyph and those that do not? Perhaps in a new thread?

I think it would be very useful for people. (Myself included) :)
