Using your 3d vision in unusual ways the wackier the better :D
Just wondering besides games and the occasional 3d movie what other things have you used your glasses for, for example I recently loaded up the dream aquarium screensaver and enabled 3d and holy sh*t , it's like having a real fishtank! with the added depth and light rays turned up to max, i'm blown away by the realism, I can only imagine how cool this would look on a 50 inch screen.

3dV works great with a few choice Winamp mediaplayer visualizations. See the link below

Thanks for a good find. It looks really good in S3D.

Good popout when the fish are against a black background, they are floating off the screen nicely.
Good find :)

I've used the old e-dimensional shutterglasses to verify the frequency of my monitor that it was refreshing at 59.97 Hz. I enabled the glasses and used an old television as a reference. If you look at the TV and the glasses are shutterring at 59.97, then there should be a narrow dark band across the TV somewhere (or offscreen by chance) and it should be stable. If your monitor is actually off by 1Hz, then the band will slide up or down the screen at 1 Hz. Off by 2 Hz, then 2 Hz band movement, etc. I think some clever person could make an emitter that could trigger your glasses at any freq and then use them as a kind of strobe light for some strobe light applications. OK, not any freq, but some range of freqs. Maybe not though depending on the electronics in the glasses. You might have to just get some of the older kind.

I guess you could make sunglasses out of them with variable darkness but they might not have UV protection.

Also if you find yourself with some polarizing film and don't know which way it's polarized, you could use the glasses to check it provided you know how your LCD glasses are polarized to begin with.

note: the TV should have a trusted signal on it, not just static or the freq may not be precise.

later.

I have some sample programs from the NVIDIA Demoscene contest last year from NVISION. Those look pretty cool! I dont think we ever released them though.
