Thanks for working on this. As others have noted, very few are willing to wait for a game to get patched before diving into a hot release. It's very important that 3d support be in the game from the get go. As for myself, I guess I'm going to wait until the patch ... so please get it out soon!

Ever hear the saying, don't kill the messenger?
What is Nvidia to do? They can't FORCE Bioware to make the game 3D friendly. All Nvidia said was that they were working with Bioware.
Bioware were the ones claiming they designed the game for 3D from the get-go. If you should be upset at anyone, it should be Bioware.
I believe you mean 2K not Bioware. 2K = Bioshock 2; Bioware = Mass Effect 2. I know what you’re saying, but Bioshock 2, which is what this thread is on, has crippling bugs in relation to 3d (How do you play a shooter with a crosshair that is doubled or at the wrong depth?) was advertised by 2K to be 3d Vision ready out of the box. With which the claim was made that nVidia and 2K were working together pre-release on this. Thus I can understand why he said what he said.
Aside, Pahncrd’s does a lot on these forums. The guy has put a ton of work in helping users fix problems that nVidia wouldn’t address. Like the lack of a profile for ME2 for just one example. he is also building a website dedicated to this kind of support (Non-official fixes like .ini and .cfg changes that can help etc).
If anyone has the right to speak freely on something like this he does. Someone has to complain and it has to be heard by all sides or else nVidia and or the developer will see no need to spend resources on fixing things.

I actually don't mind waiting for a profile or patch now and again.
The problem I have with the situations is this, for the game to be as bad as it is in 3d, that means no one addressed 3d problems before the game was released as they would have shown up as an obvious problem. That is fine for a game that isn't supposed to be 3d compatible, but in a game that has been touted by nV and the devs as being a good 3d game, that isn't acceptable.
I can live with waiting, but what happened here? Was all of the 3d stereo work with Bioshock 2 a lie?
You won't find too many people that love gaming in 3d more than I do. That is why it gets so aggravating when things like this happen as it makes 3d stereo seem like something to avoid because of all of the problems..

"im confused. At least you guys get some sort of 3D with this, even if it's faulty. For me, I enabled the Stereo 3D button in the menu, but I get nothing. Flat 2D. The emitter doesn't even turn on on game launch. and when I press CRTL+T to toglle 3D, the engine freezes for a split second, on the bottom right the Nvidia 'no profile for this game' flashes up and then it returns to 2D. What gives?"
This is exactly the problem I am having. This is unacceptable for a game to be marketed as 3d ready. In fact it is probably a breach of the saole of goods act

Yeah the real problem is that the 3d part of the game was just brushed aside, they could have worked to get it done by the release date but it seems like they were worried about other stuff. They ignored and moved the 3d support to sometime in the near future instead of release date...
Sure us with 3d setups are a smaller audience but we deserve to be treated as equals! Where is the S3D Gaming Allience when we need them!? lol
for the record i'm fine with waiting, thanks for your quick response andrew! Looking forward to that patch ^___^

Is 3d stereo the future or isn't it? Treat it like a major feature and it will become one.

Secondly, so what? How is it AT ALL Nvidia's fault that 2K didn't ship with 3D features (Although some people here think the 3D is pretty good, besides the the crosshair). I understand your frustration, my point is simply that you're venting in the wrong place, and to the wrong people. Take it to the 2K forums. Lashing out at Nvidia doesn't accomplish anyting.
Nvidia certainly doesn't deserve your ire because of 2K's faults.

They should have been squashed months ago if there was actually enough contact going on to justify having a 3d stereo option in the game's menus.
I'm not that annoyed really since it is just a game, however, I am very disappointed. I will certainly be looking at nV's statements regarding 3d vision with a lot more cynicism in the future. I couldn't agree more. NV should have had the driver with the profile out on time and 2K should never have let it ship for the PC without proper support.

I think the key problem is that 3D Vision is Nvidia's product, and only they really benefit from its adoption right now. What incentive does a developer have to put a lot of effort into supporting it until it's widely adopted? They really have no incentive to see it become widely adopted either, it's just another thing for them to have to worry about compatibility with.
It's primarily in Nvidia's interest, and therefore up to them, to make this thing work in the early adopter phases before the product has enough momentum to demand support on its own. Without that, it will never leave the early adopter phase and fade into irrelevancy like most of the other 3-D products before it. Eventually 3-D's time will come, is this that time? It's looking pretty questionable.

What is nVidia's fault is saying that this game was going to be great in 3d and they had been working closely with 2k, and then having it be obvious that absolutely nothing has been done to make the game 3d compatible. Hell, you can't even disable the crosshair... that is one of the easiest fixes to make. Something very similar happened with Borderlands as well.
I don't mind that it doesn't work very well. What I don't like is expecting it to due to nV's words and then being disappointed. I bought the game much earlier than I would have.

Game works great in 3D!!! Can't wait for the driver/profile update. Ohhh man I waited along time for this game. Not happy there isn't a 3D profile already for the game, I'll get over it. The game looks great at low depth.(cross hair is a joke lol) Very unhappy it's not allocated with the 360 controller? That doesn't make any sense at all. If anyone needs help with Pinnacle, send me a message. They have a working profile already for the game, works good so far. /sorcerer.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sorcerer:' />

I was dissapointed also with this game at first in 3d. lots of ghosting. playing around with the convergence fixed the ghosting and the game looks great at 100 percent depth. hopefully the patch happens soon.

This is exactly the problem I am having. This is unacceptable for a game to be marketed as 3d ready. In fact it is probably a breach of the saole of goods act

First off, my apologies for mixing up companies. Not sure what I was thinking

I'm not that annoyed really since it is just a game, however, I am very disappointed. I will certainly be looking at nV's statements regarding 3d vision with a lot more cynicism in the future. If I had known how broken the game was going to be in 3d, I would have waited to purchase it.
I couldn't agree more. NV should have had the driver with the profile out on time and 2K should never have let it ship for the PC without proper support.

Same here, I only bought the game this early because the 3D Vision support. I feel cheated.
