Tried it with Day of Defeat - Source, which is basically the Half-Life 2 engine with HDR lightmaps and blooming. Worked for about 20-30 seconds then froze. Tried it three more times and the game kept freezing after the same amount of time.
The 78.01-drivers works quite nicely with this game, but the Screen Depth and Backplane commands will always result in a quick return to the desktop. I didn't get to test wether this still is the case, but the fact that there has now been introduced more problems does not make me optimistic.
I'm running Windows XP on a X2 4800+, Quadro FX 4500 (similar to 7800) and 3GB RAM.

Just as an experiment, try removing your activator software (e-d.exe or whatever you use) and then try adjusting with the backplane command in game. I had a similar issue with COD2, until I realized that the activator was conflicting with the NVIDIA Fx command keys.

Do the glitches look the same as they do in my previous posts (see attached picture files for Doom 3)?
Do you get these glitches is 78.01 as well (I do)?
One more thing - I just want to point out that when NVIDIA sent me the beta, they indicated that it was unstable, and there is ANOTHER beta - but it doesn't match with the driver on the NVIDIA website.
However, my requests to get that version went unanswered.
So, let's keep the bug reports coming, and I think we will have to take comfort in the fact that NVIDIA has not forgotten about us.

78.01, with the autoexec.cfg tweaks is glitch free, but really slow.
82.12, with the autoexec.cfg tweaks still shows shadows broken but on top of that crashes on exit and displays some garbage (fat flickering black bars) even without stereo enabled.
(Ps: No chopper your gfx errors don't look like mine - only the shadows are messed up here)

Thanks Chopper!!! I will give these a go and report back this weekend.
edit: for those of you with laptops (like me), the 82.12 driver you need is here:
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=8398
Please read that site for instructions on how to install them.
Then you will be able to install these beta stereo drivers.
Please people, report your Nvidia card model to know what is happening.
Doom 3 with or without autoexec.cfg tweaks run here with broken shadows and very very slow with 82.12 combo. Before 82.12 I had 71.89 (better than 78.01 for me).
Pacific Fithers crash if I press ctrl+t.
Other games run without differnce like before: lock on, far cry, half life 2, etc.
Seem that the optimization of some games gives problems with another ones, like seen with different combo drivers. Today I still prefer 71.89 combo with my 6800 Nvidia card.

Thanks Chopper, Doom 3 and Fear are much better for me with the 82.12 combo. I did get some flickering in fear but fps is much better then with 77.77 or 78.01, I will try BF2 tonight and post back. I'm optimistic that the next official release will be awesome. Thanks again Chopper and NVIDIA.

Here is the 82.12 BETA Stereo Driver. It will only work with the BETA on the NVIDIA website.
I reviewed the messages NVIDIA sent me, and when they sent the original file, they did not request that it stay private.
It was only when I asked if it would be ok to distribute, that they said they "prefer" not.
I guess once they are on written record, that's the answer they have to give for a BETA, and I'm being a nervous ninny.
Rename *.zip to *.exe and it will work.
Now...PLEASE....will someone check my Doom issue listed below (artifacts)? Can someone else duplicate the problem?
Users with a 6800GS PCIE would be most helpful.
Also, see if you can get Doom 3 to work with Shadows on. How did you install the driver and/or how did you get the shadows to work?
I don't want to have to RMA my card if I don't have to.
Thanks,
Chopper

I should be working, but these must be tested!
And to any nVidia staffer reading this --- Please relax. 3D Stereo users knows to expect some "issues" once in a while. Or all the time.

tested it with GTL:
- got a lot of flickering (which isn´t there with 77.77)
- with Player- and Wheel-View it's not playable in stereo, like with 77.77 (flickering)
nForce II, 6800 GT, XP Prof.

In addition to Doom, can someone test Battlefield 2 Special Forces?
In particular, can you play multiplayer with the "Gator" map?
It's the one where everyone is fighting onboard a carrier.
Wierdest thing - the game runs blazing fast in my setup, but on this map - my character was running around like a drunken sailor.
I have an AMD 3200+, 1GB ram, 6800GS (256MB) PCIE.
The level runs fine when I CTRL-T back to 2D mode, so I don't think it's a lag issue.
The HD also isn't on, so I don't think there is hitching going on.
Ideas? Experiences?
I do admit, it does look like a graphically intensive level - see what you think.
