Lose all HDMI audio in 3D mode HDMI audio lost when in 3D mode on a Mitsubishi WD-73838
Hello,
I recently purchased a GTX 560 TI in order to get HDMI 1.4a capability. I already had a GTX 295 that was working great for DirectX 10 gaming. I left the 295 in the system though it is now dedicated to Physix. I wanted the HDMI 1.4a compliance to connect my PC to my TV, a Mitsubishi WD-73838. I have the 12.08 firmware installed on the TV so it is fully compliant with the 3D portion of HDMI 1.4a. In fact my standalone 3D blu-ray player works great with beautiful sound. The TV itself decodes the HD audio bit-streams and emits them to the room through its sound projector providing a 5.1 sound field. I do not have an AV Receiver hooked up. All of my devices connect directly to the TV via HDMI.
Here is the problem:
I connect the PC to the TV via the HDMI connector on the 560Ti and configure the HDMI audio. Sadly it only shows 2 channel and Dolby Digital support but that appears to function fine. I can game and I can watch 2D blu-ray movies from my PC on the TV with full quality audio. Until I enable a 3D mode. Both 1080p / 24 and 720p / 60 mode cause the sound to end. The TV goes silent. If I use the TV's remote to disable 3D the sound returns even though I am still running in 1080p/24 or 720p/60. Any time 3D is enabled on the TV and I have a 3D resolution chosen on the PC though the audio disappears. 3D itself is working but without sound.
Here is my hardware and OS:
Motherboard:
Part Number: 170-BL-E762-A1
Part Desc: EVGA X58 Classified 4-Way SLI
Processor, RAM, and OS:
Intel i7 965 processor
6G RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Active Graphics:
Part Number: 01G-P3-1567-AR
Part Desc: EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti DS Superclocked
Secondary GPU card running Physix only now:
Part Number: 017-P3-1296-AR
Part Desc: Geforce GTX 295 CO-OP Superclocked
I have the 3D vision emitter installed so 3DTVPlay is enabled.
When I am running on the TV, I have it set as the only monitor and it is connected directly via the HDMI connector.
Is there a driver which will address this? Is it an EDID problem? I have a Geffen detective somewhere I could program an EDID into if it would help.
Also,
Should the HDMI audio of the 560 TI be capable of 5.1 sound? The on board analog audio of the mother board is and I use it for the regular monitors. I wish to game and enjoy my blu-ray library from my backups on my TV in 3D with full sound.

I found the solution over in other forums. I had to rename the input on the TV from "PC" to "Blu-Ray" Once in blu-ray mode the sound worked fine in 2D and 3D.
