The 720p ones have been around for a while now. Does anyone know of an upcoming 1080p?

I have orderd the new JVC X3 (X7 & X9), will be out next week.
There is also the new Sony VPL-VW90 (now out, a bit dark for 3D), Mitsubishi HCXXXX and the great LG CF3D (expensive, but with polarisation).
Its time to say goodbye to the Acer 5360 - was a great year :)
I could be wrong but I don't think those projectors support the refresh rates/specs required for 3d vision. The JVC X3 supports up to 85hz if the specs online are to be believed(was looking at the vertical signal range but nevermind). The 120hz features they have are what are referred to by many as "fake 120hz" where the original images are heavily processed to give the illusion of a higher frame rate.
[s]I'm not fully enlightened as to how dual-hdmi 3d works, but my basic understanding is that 2 hdmi cables go from the source device to the projector, each cable carrying a 60hz 1080p signal, and the projector rejiggles them into a 3d 1080p signal[/s][s]. Not sure nvidia cards are capable of doing that at the moment or in the future.. Gonna read up more about it today.[/s]
So from what I can tell, the new 3d projectors only accept up to 1080p60 signals (specs on the JVC website). Meaning if somehow you got 3d vision working, you'd be gaming at a framerate of 30fps. Watching movies would be grand though as I believe 30fps is more than enough for smooth playback.

From my browsing of the avforums(or was it avsforum) there seems to be a growing realization that current LED products lose a substantial amount of light once you get past (roughly) the 1000 hours mark i.e. The reviewers only experienced the pre-1000 hour period of the LED products, and judged the product accordingly taking for granted that the Lumen count would remain fairly constant had they continued to use it heavily(that was the main draw of LED wasnt it.. nice Lumen count, many lamp hours, low cost of use)
This could just be FUD being spread around or poorly implemented first attempts by manufacturers, will try and find the link.

LED TV = cool buzzword , to give LCD marketing edge over plasma. Its no better than CCFL backlit LCD, no real LED, just stripes of plain white LED's. LED TV is meaningless , wont tell you if it has any benefit at all, like local dimming.
LED DLP = the real deal- seperate Red Green Blue LED's, not stripes, but huge PowerLED's one for each color

Boohoohoo. I'll keep my goliath-killerâ„¢ 5360.
Besides, I think 720p + LED would be better than 1080p+Bulb. 720p + laser would be...
