i read in the faq that win2k has troubles with the stereo drivers.
now i AM on an win2k (pro - sp4) system and as soon as i want to
activate the drivers (either enabled or enabled by hotkey), my system
reboots.
is there any way, i can get them to work, any workaround or so?
currently upgrading the os is out of the question because i also work on the system and have several server processes running.
switching to xp would cost me at least a week or more. that's time i don't have.
thx for any advice.
currently:
win2k pro sp4
amd athlon 3200+ with activated cool&quiet flag
gf 7600gs
fw 93.71 with stereo drivers (disabled)

If I were you I would take that week, but skip XP and go straight to Vista and be patient for the dx10 stereo driver release. Forget win 2k support mate. Oh, and buy a decent 8800 card too.

I understand your predicament but am just being realistic. Everyone here has spent money up-grading their system one way or the other. Why don't you purchase a single PC, vista ready which will come with an 8800 card. You can get some great deals nowadays. Ebay is a good example.

OK fair one. I used to get the same problem when activating via hotkey in Flight sim 9 and even 10. I fixed the problem by pausing the sim, activating 3D then un-pausing. This worked for me, try it and report back.

i can NOT click on "enabled by hotkey" or "enabled" without the computer crashing.
there is no difference if there is a game running in the background or not.
