Forget every kind of 3D-conversion. It will look like "Clash of the Titans3D" -> crappy 3D /down.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':down:' /> .
But by the way: I have seen now one of the Samsung 3DTVs and one of the Panasonic's. Panasonic's glasses are very heavy - not easy to wear. Samsung has two different glasses. One heavy model which is still better than the Panasonic and a really nice light weighted model, very comfortable. I have seen a part of "Monsters vs Aliens 3D" and the 3D-picture was really good on both brands, but the glasses would lead me to the Samsung.

The panasonic is meant to be the better of the current 3D displays, less crosstalk and way better black levels. Also the glasses let you turn your head more freely without dropping out.
I wonder if you were seeing the Samsung Plamsa model or backlit LED model, I am curious as how the 2 Plasma models compare.

The Samsung was the LED-model. The Panasonic was a Plasma. The Panasonic seemed to be a bit darker. I didn't see any crosstalk on both but I think this needs more time and testing of different movie-scenes.
