I'm not certain, but that stuttering thing may just be their performance regulation stuff. If something is far enough away its rendered at 1/2 the framerate in Souls games. What is considered "far away" enough might be affected by resolution. So rendering at 2880x1620, since distant things resolve in higher detail they don't get cuz to 1/2 framerate, but at a lower res they do since they resolve smaller.
That might be it!
Man, Dark Souls III is a cool game and the work Helifax is doing on it is awesome. Keep up the great work dude.

Ye it`s great. I am quite far into it and didn`t find anything broken. It is even better because there is no light effects in this new area and most of the environment is in white and dark colours. This all is very atmospheric. Really well done 3D experience.

Anyone getting complete freezes of the game (or what seems like the Nvidia Driver) when using 375.70 or above?
This is ofc Windows 10 +Anniversary stuff and 3D Surround...
Edit:
Tried an earlier driver (368.39) same results... This is sad...
Edit2:
Guess is a "known issue":

Yeah, don't worry about it... is FROM CRAPPY SOFTWARE company et CO. This will be the last game I'll ever buy from these guys... Their games might be awesome but... the Technical implementation and Support... well IT SUCKS (let's remember DS1 with an awesome lock to 720p or something? DS2 and DS3 also have issues... where is Eyefinity/Surround support in 2016???? Nada.)
It's all over the forums. It's their latest 1.8 shitty patch that "generates" freezes...
I get them in 2D, 3D, Surround, SLI, not SLI and sooooo on.. (all possible combinations). It happens randomly...
GG From Software! If you read this (not likely) but... YOU SUCK GUYS!!! COME ON!! THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! RANDOM FREEZES?!?!?! and no patch since 21th of October? I mean, COME ON! The game worked perfectly until the DLC + Patch, now it just freezes randomly (from 5 to 30 minutes)
SHAME ON YOU! From Software! (or From Hackware by the looks of it -_-)

Yeah, on the technical side of things they are quite possibly the worst developer (who can still make amazing games) that I've ever known. Mayyybe GSC Game World back in their heyday could compete for that title, but since then, it's gotta be awarded to FROM.
That said, I don't think you'll need to worry about buying another one of their titles for quite some time. I'm expecting Sony to buy exclusivity for their next title again.

What is interesting is that people even on PS4 talk about patch 1.08 and game freezing -_- so is definitely not a problem with specific platform but something wrong in the game's code, somewhere:(
Hope they address it soon...

Interesting, is this on Windows 10 or Windows 7? Maybe I should try it on Windows 7 as well.
I never had any issue with the game but M$ pushed lots of updates to Windows 10 since April (including Millennium Edition Update ^_^)

I have no problem during the game. Played the DLC complete the last Days and zero freezes.
The only thing is i cant leave the game over the menu. That gives a Blackscreen. I have to Alt-Tab and kill the Prozess.
Win 10 with all updates.
Maybe a problem with Online Option ? I play offline because of a FOV Mod. Looks much better ;)

After investigation is clearly something related with the latest patch and forcing a different Aspect Ratio in the game:( SAD really...
It seems to work fine for 16:9 Aspect Ration but if you apply a Surround or 21:9 Aspect Ratio is just freezes/hangs randomly...:(
Edit:
Seems it freezes in Single Screen as well without any modifications and 16:9 AR...
Both Win10 and Win7 on multiple drivers.... /sigh
