Viewsonic 3D Ready - The ultimate Insult!
Ok, Ive been recieving emails from other users about the Viewsonic PJ6220-3D and how many people simply can't get these PJs working properly and are not getting any support from Viewsonic.

1- We all know this PJ is simply an 6220 with 3D tacked on as a sloppy firmware update
2- We all know Viewsonic does nothing to support or help their users (im still waiting for the reply to my problems - they did offer assistance but now Im waiting again)
3- We all know that even when it does work, it doesnt provide the user with the 3D experience they paid for (blue ghosting-gamma issues (each eye looks different))

Apparently their is a new firmware, Viewsonic gave me an FTP link, but the firmware had no instructions, I had no idea how to get it installed.

Im going to say this again. VIEWSONIC YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOUR CRAPPY PROJECTOR AND YOUR CRAPPY SUPPORT! NOBODY IS FOOLED BY YOUR TACKY TACK ON 3D!

And Nvidia, you say you have this projector and you have no issues with it. Im now thinking this cannot be true! What gives! Credibility = Zero

I paid over 2000$ (AGAIN!) all in to finally enjoy a proper 3D experience and ITS WORSE THAN MY OLD BENQ AND MY EDIMENSIONAL GLASSES!!!!

WTF! I am really losing faith in this 3D hardware. What now, I have to buy ANOTHER PROJECTOR SO I CAN FINALLY ENJOY A PROPER 3D EXPERIENCE? Im tired of this! Ive spent countless dollars chasing this dream of proper 3D.

VIEWSONIC, had you done things right, I could have suggested to MANY people that they should get this projector, but now everytime I demo it, I get embarrassing results, half the time it doesnt work, half the games dont work, almost NONE work in 1024x768, BLUE GHOSTING, EACH EYE LOOKS DIFFERENT!!! And it makes for an uncomfortable viewing experience, and I have to defend the Nvidia glasses saying, these actually work great, but its the projector, there is something wrong with it, and most people walk away going "yeah, 3D, I dont think so, hurts my brain and eyes" when they could have walked away and gone directly to order one of your projectors! This also reflects very badly on Nvidia's hardware as well.

VIEWSONIC, this community knows what "good 3D" is. We've watched IMAX and REAL3D, some of us had old school setups that worked better than the crap we are getting now. And all Im hearing on this forum is people crying foul over your garbage PJ and your stinky non support. Pathetic.

If Nvidia would support my BenQ, I would take a bat to your Projector and post a youtube video of me destroying it, simply for the satisfaction of all of us here that have be burned by purchasing it.

AND I WOULD MAKE THE VIDEO IN ANAGLYPH 3D WITH CHUNKS FLYING TOWARD THE SCREEN!!!

Viewsonic, the solution is simple. Offer up the firmware AND instructions on how to install it, or recall and replace the problem projectors. Its what any responsible company would do. Listen to your users, a bad name can spread like wildfire, especially in communities like the Stereo3D one.

PS: Viewsonic did get back to me, gave me a link to their FTP, offered the firmware with is called (File:SE9001-T-40 (V1.5).rar) and some crazy instructions which I dont how to figure out. They are also "apparently" looking into my "NO UPC CODE" problem. I think I lit a fire under their ass after my last rant on here.

Here is the FTP Link and access info. If anyone can figure out how to apply the firmware let me know.

NOW, FOR EVERY USER BURNED, PLEASE JUST REPLY "VIEWSONIC BURNED ME TOO"[/b]

Maybe that will get some action happening

I will offer up my thanks to Viewsonic if they do something. If not, I will take this rant everywhere. They will not sell another 3D unit if I can help it. Now cmon Viewsonic, do something, do the right thing

Damo3000 rant complete.

I don't have the projector, but from the PDF available at the link you provided, I'd say you connect it to your PC via a network cable, turn it on (I guess these are the missing steps "1" and "2") and type in the listed address in your web browser. To be sure, I'd connect the projector directly to your PC's network port (not via a router) and temporarily turn off any firewall software.

Ill give it a try soon. I dont really want to bash on Viewsonic. Their product is very close to being perfect and I am SURE a firmware update could solve all the problems. Ill see of their update will work.

I really hope this firmware update works. Please report to us your findings as soon as you have flashed it.
If it solves all the issues with not syncing and the blue ghosting and most important to me the loss of brightness and sharpness in 120hz mode then I will buy one again.
