3d Vision and 3DTV Play together?
I have 2 GTX680s in SLI- 3 Benq monitors output in 3D Vision Surround over DVI. I'd also like to add the ability to output to a 3D projector (instead of the 3 monitors) and play with 3dtv play. I have been successful in switching between the different outputs using Windows + P, but I can't get the Sony Projector (hw50es) to detect 3dtv play. I thought this was due to the fact that i've got a Onkyo reciever in the middle causing an EDID issue. However, according to what Nvidia support is telling me, 3Dvision and 3DTV play are not supported together (switching between the two). They noted I can reinstall the drivers each time when I change between outputs, but obviously this is not realistic. Has anyone found success with a workaround? Thanks in advance for any assistance... Edit: The Onkyo AVR is the NR818 (HDMI 1.4a ready)

lol, it's the same driver for both. I easily switch between a single 3D Vision Monitor and 3DTV Play Projector using an external emitter. Some people report having trouble when they have an internal emitter sometimes. No idea about with surround, you might try posting a second thread in the surround forum as well. AVRs can be a problem, first comfirm that you can get 3DTV Play working with it removed from the chain.

Can't comment on the SLI, but I use 3DTVplay on my Optoma projector through my Onkyo receiver with no problems at all. Mine is the basic NR414 model so you should have no bother with an 818.

I'll have to try it tonight directly to the projector. I know that they are the same driver for 3dtv and 3d vision, but Nvidia support chat told me I had to choose one or the other (3dtv play or 3d vision - whichever output was active at the time of driver install would be detected)....sounds like that may be wrong...*sigh*

Well...turns out it is just the EDID issue. Once I connected my cards to the projector directly, I was able to enable 3DTV Play. Having the receiver in the middle is causing the problem of detecting a compatible display device. I would follow up with Nvidia on this and try to get it solved, but to be honest, i'm not sure it is worth it. I played around with 3DTV Play a bit and the 720p60hz/1080p24hz HDMI limit is BRUTAL on a 100+ inch screen. 24hz is unplayable and the detail lost on the 720p makes everything looks really undetailed imo. I hear checkerboard is better, but I don't believe my Sony VPL-HW50ES projector supports it. I think i'll stick with 2D gaming on the projector and leave 3D for only the monitors unless anyone has any other suggestions to make 3DTV better... Thanks all for the help!
