Rise of the Tomb Raider 2016 - 3D Vision Fix
  39 / 50
I agree with you birthright, I don't understand why devs don't modify the game. What is surprising is that the game is 3D Vision Ready OMG!!!! @lacuna, unfortunately you will see that for the next destination, after Syria, the game suffers lots of stutter, and it's not depending on your config. With 16gb RAM, GTX 980 and I7 4790K, even with 720p resolution, at some locations, the game drops under 30fps!!! I don't try with the official patch, but I think it's more optimize. The best solution to play in 3D is the unofficial patch which is awesome but which has some fps issues. It's playable but disturbing.
The official patch has the SAME performance issues btw... A bit more optimized (like 5% maybe) but still not near what it should be + broken 3D on top... My recommendation is always to try both and see which one is more to your liking;)

Walked all over it and it`s just at the same quality as Helifax`s fix. Performance is way better as well or maybe I don`t remember what was like before patch but I don`t have any complains at this point. Time to go back and play those DLCs - finally :) Thanks Nixxes !

Would be interested to know if now works ^_^ Awesome! Big thanks for the feedback!

I didn't get the patch until 7am this morning. EST. I had to be at work at 8am so I didn't get to test 3D Surround. I am tempted to leave work early.

Nop, I don`t have Surround but I am positively surprised by this patch. One think to consider thou. It feels like they switch off some elements just to managed with broken 3D. It`s because I felt like this environment use to be richer then it is right now. Maybe I don`t remember or just played Witcher way too long. Also good to know that Devs didn`t forget about this game and finally we got it right. Just when Deus Ex is about to hit Us. Full list of changes: Adds DirectX12 Multi-GPU support. Many of you have requested this, so DirectX 12 now supports NVIDIA SLI and AMD CrossFireX configurations. The benefits of DirectX 12 are still the same, but now you are less likely to be GPU bottlenecked and can reach higher framerates due to the improved CPU utilization DirectX 12 offers. Adds utilization of DirectX 12 Asynchronous Compute, on AMD GCN 1.1 GPUs and NVIDIA Pascal-based GPUs, for improved GPU performance. On the latest Windows 10 version, V-sync can now be disabled (Windows Store version), and behavior of disabled V-sync has been improved (Steam version). Improvements to stereoscopic 3D rendering, including fixes for NIVIDA Surround and AMD Eyefinity in combination with stereoscopic 3D. Improved default settings for certain integrated GPUs. Removes the Voidhammer Shotgun for users that do not have Cold Darkness Awakens DLC or have not yet unlocked it by rescuing prisoners in Cold Darkness Awakens. A fix for a save issue where some game state could get lost in very rare circumstances. This patch force-disables the Steam Overlay when using DirectX 12. This is due to stability issues with the Steam Overlay in combination with DirectX 12. A fix for crashes with VXAO enabled on NVIDIA GTX1080 cards. A variety of other smaller optimizations, bug-fixes, and tweaks.
Awesome big thanks for the full list of patch notes;) I don't think they disabled something in the game just for 3D Vision but I might be wrong;) I will definitely make a side-by-side compare with the community fix & the current patch and look to see if something got disabled;) But I don't think so. While the environment looks very awesome it wasn't as rich as the Witcher 3 one;)) I believed you checked the Geo Valley right?

Yep - the Geo Valley. All way down from the top to second fire camp. I found some weird shadow inside one of the buildings but I tried that at max details when everything is on. One of the effects probably triggered bad shadow respond or it is broken all the time. When you moving Ambient Occlusion changes a bit which looks like Motion Blur and some water reflections are not right when looking from angle. They look alright when looking straight forward at them. All this is on 1440p so it might be perfectly fine at normal 1080p. Other then that it`s magic. All good.

Wait, what? They fixed it? Oohhh. That's unexpected. I told crystal dynamics that I'd buy the game full price (which I have not done in... over 5 years at least) if they ever fixed 3D. Now I'll have to hold my word... 70$, ouch. Should be the most epic thing ever though, right? Hold tight, my poor old 970...

Would any of you guys with a sli setup mind confirming that even with latest nvidia driver (368.69) and latest game patch (published today) you get negative scaling when playing in 3d vision at low res (1080p or 720p) on a single screen (ie lower fps with sli on)? Thanks in advance!

You are restricted to DX11 but that didn`t bother anybody yet. Keep in mind that you have to set proper settings in pre-game menu. Like Exclusive Fullscreen and Double Buffer Vsync.

Yeah, very good news :)), I'm happy they didn't forget 3D community. I'm interested Helifax about the comparison between the community fix and the official fix but according to SKAUT, all shadows are not still fixed :( I bought recently The witcher 3 and I was on my ass when I could play for the first time. Graphics are just wondeful and optimisation in 3D are very decent. I will wait some returns about this new patch :)
