Nvidia Stereo Drivers for 8800 Series!
Here is the thread for it on http://www.mtbs3d.com/ :

http://mtbs3d.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=133

Please test this if you have an 8800 series, and also see if the dual-core problem still exists.

Here is the download link: http://www.mtbs3d.com/downloads/

I guess you should sign up for it, can they fix the crappy sig? It looks like a clown is leering at me, and it doesn't make me think "stereoscopic 3D" in any way.

Something cool and flashy would be nice, maybe with polygons shooting out of an Alpha channel part of the picture or something.

You will need the Beta 97.94 ForceWare driver from here to have the Stereo Driver pair:

In the advocacy section of the website (in Member Benefits), we have a signature with a transparent background.

Freke has a really nice signature that he made. If you can use most of the elements in the transparent signature (logo, text, etc.), please feel free to design your own.

While our web team is very talented, I did receive feedback that gamers like to design their own work too. I look forward to seeing what you can come up with!

Don't kiss (kill?) the messenger! :P :D .

Although this doesn't mean much to me now, when the 8600 ultra series come out (or a 880GS /smile2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':))' />, I will be ready to upgrade. I was looking at a 7900GTX or a 7950 OC for 3D, but this is a much better solution for less money, I couldn't see spending all that money when I already have a 650mhz 7900GS :magic:.

ENJOI! /wave.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> And don't forget to post how well they work out.

Update:

They don't work. Very dissapointed >.< /no.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> :'(

BSOD (nvdisp.dll) or crash when booting games when stereo is on toggle mode.

Medical Test shows black screen. nvidia animation test locks the computer.

Tried with a veriety of driver settings, even with all compatibility checkboxes ticked (and rebooted). Also tried some advanced settings with nHancer.

Sorry nVidia stereo devs, this driver is not working at all.
From what I have seen on the MTBS forum, everyone is having the same problem.

Hi Rage,

I'm going to have more testing done tomorrow - I think there is a possibility that they work for AMD CPUs because all the people reporting problems are using Core 2 Duo's.

With 8800's so few and far between in the stereo community, we don't have a full sample to work with to get a diverse testing ground.

I think it's all very promising.

Hi there!

I just baught a geforce 8800 gts 640 mb, and cant wait to try stereo 3d on it.

I have installed the drivers, but I can't find any stereo 3d options anywhere.
Is there a way of going back to the " classic" options in the screen prefrences, instead of the new nvidia control panel?

Thanks! :)

Please tell me you are using an AMD CPU!

Also, can you confirm the classic control panel option isn't available from the VIEW top menu bar?

It's weird, because when I modded the INF for the driver to work on my 7900GTX, it had that option.

OK, can you try it with one core only? Does it make a difference?

(need to change my sig)

I just bought the Intel Quad core 6700 CPU for doing 3D rendering and I also have an 8800GTS 640MB card. I will give the beta driver a try in anaglyph and pageflipping, but from what other people have said, I don't know if it will work.

Intel Quad Core Extreme QX6700
ASUS Striker Extreme motherboard
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS + ATi Sapphire Radeon X850 XT (yes, in the same computer; nVidia TV out stinks, but ATi rocks with it!!!)
4 GB GSkill DDR800
5x HDDs (three 320GB (RAID5); two 1TB; one IDE 320GB; total 3TB)
2x Cooler Master 6 HDD coolers (primary usage drives)
2x PSU's (primary 600W psu, secondary 350W psu modded solely to power the ATi card)
32-in Samsung HDTV

Yup, i also did some littering on the MTBS-forum and here i am again...
And yes regarding stereodrivers: The new beta drivers don't work on the 8800 series...
Strangely though they seems to work with elder series..
Seems like we have to wait for a while for another driver...

Lol: but it was fun while it lasted and of course i'm a bit disappointed.
Seen from the good side: At least the hopes for stereogaming on 8800GTX doesn't seem that far away! :magic:

Keep up the good work Nvidia. We're still cheering for you. /clap.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
