Cheers Blackhole, i've never known we had our own drivers :) i've always just downloaded the newest 3dvision ones. Whats the difference? any noticable improvements?

Ghosting on the Zalman monitor is very low as long as you are at the correct height (or that you tilt the screen until your eyes are properly aligned with the sweet spot, the stand height and tilt adjustment are wonderful to help, such a shame the new 21.5" version does not have it).
However it is not zero : you won't see it under normal gaming but if you display a very very contrasty image you will see some ghosting. The good news though is that it's white ghosting only (light leak), there is absolutely no black ghosting like you can see on some LCD shutter systems (display overdrive overcompensating and going beyond the correct required colour).

I have almost decided on getting the Zalman monitor for a new system i'm building. I don't like the sync issues with shutterglasses, and i've read the iz3d has a poor 2d image. Two questions about Zalman monitors.
1. Is the polarizer screen on the outside? Can it be easily damaged( cleaning... )?
2. Is the resolution loss that bad( not counting text )?

My Zalman has a nice shiny screen that cleans very easily so i'm guessing the polarizer is on the inner part. To be honest i've never really noticed a lack of res or at least it's never bothered me :)

The resolution reduction is definitely visible but it is not a major issue. The only games where it is a little annoying are racing games when you look at the horizon to look for the next turn, it's the only case where you really notice it.
The games are always rendered at full resolution and resampled, so that it produces a 2x or 3x vertical supersampling-AA depending on the driver/game implementation

Just been looking for Zalman 3D monitors for sale in the UK and I can find a 21.5" 1080p one for £300 and a 24" 1080p one for £400. Is yours an older model or refurb or something?

I believe the polarizing sheet in under the glasses. There are no problems with cleaning the screen.
In terms of resolution loss, yes, it is there. Technically the resolution is cut in half, but since this is split between both eyes it is not as noticeable as you would think. In general the image is just softer than it would be in 2D. But it still looks alright and once you get into the game it is not that bad. It doesn't really bother me much, but some people are more sensitive to this stuff than others.

I've just won a Zalman monitor on ebay so am looking forward to giving it a go and comparing it to my Acer H5360 projector. The plan is to use the projector for big screen weekend gaming but use the monitor for day to day gaming if that makes any sense.
