Nvidia 3d vision 2 wireless glasses kit out of stock everywhere (UK)
1 / 3
My apologies for this post but this really is a last-ditch effort. I have now, today, not taken delivery of my third order of a wireless glasses kit. The last two sellers (CCL online and Scan.co.uk) both had estimated delivery dates that came and then went. After contacting both of the companies they told me they couldn't put a date on when more stock will arrive.
Every other online shop has them listed as out of stock with no expected date for more stock or simply discontinued.
Have the 3d vision 2 kits been discontinued? They're still listed on the nvidia website but none of the six websites they direct to have stock and two of them list it as discontinued.
I was really excited to try this after upgrading my monitor and graphics card recently but it's starting to look like I won't be able to...
Does anybody have any advice?

Contact NVidia tech support - NVidia employees almost never come into this Forum...
I saw this on amazon, though delivery time is "3 to 5 weeks", and it looks like a US outlet as well:

3D Vision section on the web site isn't updated long ago.
You should check Amazon or Ebay to get ur stuff.
And you shouldn't doubt - you did good choice to stick with 3D gaming. Nvidia isn't supporting it actively nowdays, but our 3D community here do all hard work to bring 3D into new game titles instead of Nvidia.

Hopefully your monitor should be somewhere on this list, although the list itself isn't quite up to date. No ROG Swift on there for example.

Try here. May I also draw your attention to the latest discerning customer's review in making sage reference to Helixmod. You should have better luck here. If you've already tried amazon uk and come up empty that's really surprising.

Hey guys, thanks for the swift replies!
Mike, unfortunately the link you posted is a US outlet. Thanks though.
Tothepoint, I was directed to that link and, whilst they do have it in stock, Amazon themselves charge £60 less. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nvidia-Vision-Wireless-Glasses-Kit/dp/B005ZXYE0O
I'm prepared to pay for the kit, of course, but not at over 50% more than the RRP. I've contacted Nvidia support and they are looking into the situation for me, as are Amazon. Hopefully I'll get an answer soon...
Edit: I do have the Asus ROG swift but it's got a 3d vision ready sticker here on the base so I'm going to assume it will work!

If it says it's ready on the sticker then I guess it must be. ;) It'll be interesting to hear if you can get the full 3D Vision 2 kit at the price that you're looking to buy it at. It's becoming apparent that these kits are becoming increasingly thin on the ground.

One further thought. The ROG swift already has a built in IR emiiter as you're already probably aware, so you'll only need the glasses and not the full kit. Unfortunately I can't recall if a 3D vision install disk comes with glasses if you buy them separately. I'm guessing not.

This is terrible news for 3d Vision. Amazon only shows one or two kits in stock, one wants 230.00 other wants 425.00(!). This could be VERY bad news as it will completely stifle new adopters coming on.
I have always believed 3d vision had a chance as long as it could hold on until more people saw the tech. If nvidia has stopped producing the emitter and glasses and appearances that the supply is drying up, so will the chance of 3d vision becoming mainstream.
Very, very, very sad for gamers everywhere if things are as they appear.

Alas, the rog swift does not have a built in emitter: http://rog.asus.com/339252014/gaming-monitors/faq-rog-swift-pg278q-27-inch-g-sync-gaming-monitor/
But I shall continue my quest! The nvidia rep assured me that the 3d vision 2 kit is most certainly not discontinued. I shall look around and see what I can find, I guess...

Brettthefirst, regarding the emitter, sorry, my mistake. I'm sure you'll find what you're after soon enough. It's definitely well worth waiting for though.
Calistoga, if the kit is still actually being continued, perhaps it's that most retailers must have assumed that demand wasn't there any more. As you quite rightly say, it would be very unfortunate if others missed out from all that's on offer, not least because of the community fixes. Looks like consumers are forced to pay a premium for kits at the present time. Let's hope retailers are reminded that the latent demand is still there, so long as the price is right.

When I'm looking for obscure items or trying to find a better price on something, I use "TheFind".
It used to be better, but now it seems like some of the results are biased. Anyhow, it's still useful. It has made me aware of some websites that I otherwise would have never found.
"TheFind" is how I originally found out about the VNS demultiplexer (GeoBox 501) and brought to the attention of people doing dual passive projection over at AVS Science forums.
An example would be...I had a friend looking for a candelabra. They are not real popular in the USA and he could only find a few that he didn't like.
Check out the results for candelabra
Using USA http://www.thefind.com/search?query=candelabra#
Using UK http://www.thefind.co.uk/search?query=candelabra
USA is skewed to electric lighting, UK actually shows lots of candleholders.
Anyhow, here you go Brettthefirst

D-Man, great call on the find, I've just browsed through each page and found one, single result of decent price and in stock. Unfortunately for me the order that didn't arrive today is from a play.com reseller who has had no less than 6 negative reviews posted today about items not being delivered etc. (I swear to God, I'm not new to this, I check these things out before buying every time! Just my luck:/ ) Anyways, I now have one or two leads and, presuming these guys don't take a month to process a refund if they don't deliver, I shall get on that. Thanks for your help :)

Anyone else find the lack of 3d vision kit availability upsetting? As I mentioned earlier, very worrying for the future of the hobby.
What is someone going to do in 6 months when they see a 3d vision setup and want to buy one?

My hope, is that it's due to a new wave of 3D Vision users and it's a simple supply and demand issue.
As pointed out in another thread, Newegg was out and now has them back in stock.
Urgh. Just as an update, the last kit I ordered was from a reseller on play.com who, contrary to his description of "In stock - Shipping now" did not have the item in stock at all.
I've now gotten a refund from that nasty, little cheat and I still can't find any 3D vision 2 kits in stock anywhere (aside from people charging upwards of £160 which I'm not prepared to pay.)
If anybody finds anything please let me know but I'm going to give up for now. Maybe I'll be able to buy some next year or something...
