VSYNC fixed in patch:
We have just made public a new version of the PC version of Thief, v1.1 build 4110.1. This patch will be applied by Steam automatically when you next start the game. If your game does not update, please restart the Steam client.
This patch will address the following issues
- Fix for a crash after loading a new game or benchmark, often seen on Intel GPU hardware.
- Fix for DOF issue when peeking through keyholes.
- Fix for stereoscopic 3D inconsistencies in option menus. Forces VSync to be ON and Triple Buffering to be OFF.
- Fix for a bug where “Invert mouse X/Y” would not be saved.
- Minor UI improvements.
- Optimized memory usage.
While we expect this patch to be an improvement for everyone, if you do have trouble with this patch and prefer to stay on the old version we made a Beta available on Steam, v1.0 build 4107.3, that can be used to switch back to the previous version
Step 1: Go to your STEAM library and select Thief in your game list
Step 2: right-click on the game and go to properties
Step 3: go to the Betas tab in the properties menu
Step 4: select version 1.0 and press ok.
This will set you back to the original released version of the game.
We will keep monitoring for feedback and will release further patches as it seems required. We always welcome your feedback!

This game is so bad in SLI and 3D Vision. SLI itself works well though.
Played Tomb Raider too and it was awesome in 3D, but this game is very bad optimized for it...
Well, the overall game isn't that optimized too...Sadly.

While discussing DX:HR I did spend some time improving that game.
You can edit both depth and convergence in the registry as the in-game depth setting won't go far enough.
I found it impossible to use high convergence as that would break when aiming down sight.
My solution to that was to change the convergence to zero when aiming down sight and restore it to the desired value while not aiming down sight.
I never got any traction for that fix as nobody seemed to be interested enough.
This way you can increase convergence without breaking aiming.

I've done minimal testing but because we have both the standard version and director's cut I had to make a few Changes to my DX:HR settings modifier.

Just to be clear this is just for adjusting depth and convvergence.
Getting ironsight to work is another cup of tea and not easily achived as it's patching multiple memory adresses when pressing the right mouse button.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?
@Dugom
There's this key and values:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eidos Montreal\Thief\Graphics
StereoPlaneDepth
StereoSeparation
... but I couldn't get it to stick on my setup, I even locked the key, but it keeps reverting to my 3D Vision settings(50%, I depth hack it to equal 100%/IPD that way I have room to move in games that 100% just isn't enough) The weird thing is in-game I can max the Separation out and it stays maxed, even if I back out of the menu, but once I hit 'apply' it reverts to the NVIDIA setting ... odd. Either way I guess it's worth a try, 1000(decimal) is equal to maxed out in-game.
@Flugan
Nice job! :) Is that just for Deus Ex, or does it apply here also?
@Monitor Users
How much separation are you guys actually getting when maxed out in-game? I calculated mine at roughly 3.8%(2.125"/56.5") of the displays width ... I'm just curious if say a 24" monitor is only getting about .78"(20.5"*.038)

edit: Ahh ... you probably meant '3D Vision' percent-wise, I was talking 'monitor' percent-wise. Oops. :)
Thanks for the reply, it's 3.8% ... 2cm=.78", my 24"(2D) monitor is 20.5" wide (20.5*.038)=.78"=2cm. :) ... either way though that's extremely low! :)
As I don't own Thief yet there is little I can do atm.
My patch changes the registry keys for deus ex and don't change any other games.
Regarding broken shaders I'm expecting my dx11 wrapper can help eventually.
