I've watched Jungle Book 3D bluray last night, I could not come back from the experience. I cannot remember the plot, or whether it was yet another Disney garbage for kids. I only remember that I had to pick my jaw off the floor at some point. It's like I've been in some surreal professional safari, like I was there. i've never seen anything like it. Yeah, sure, there is not enough depth to my liking, but that's the same for every movie. But God ... the image quality, the high frame rate, the purest sharpest 3D.
lol, I'm sure your experience of being there was a lot more convincing, than that of the actor.
go for the c6..dont think twice.
equip your computer with 1080ti gpu and you don't really need the manual interleaved because you get interleaved in 3820x2160 resolution automatically.
if you want to lower the resolution you can do sbs or tb in d3d11 games but most of the time you stick with 4k and you will get no less than 30fps high graphical setting providing you have a powerful computer.

Does this 3DTV Play approach still force use of 24 Hz Desktop for 1080p? Note that this terrible, unnecessary constraint adds around 17 msec lag to input controls (TV displays have more display lag than monitors, already)...
AFAIK, they are not referring to 3DTV Play in anyway, because we all know that it does not support SbS

There appears to be a C6 on my local craigslist, is there anything I can do to ensure it does not have broken filter or whatever common problem some of you were having?

Just make sure it has warranty or bring your rig and test some games. Unfortunetely testing with movies is not really adequate. The good thing about LG is that for a reasonable fee, which I think is under 150.00 you will get a full year warranty directly from LG, even if you're not the original buyer, and this applies to expired warranty as well. Pretty awesome what they are doing...
Or....contact Clevland Plasma from avsforums.com he usually has crazy good prices on new stock within the USA.
BTW, good choice on TV. I think your mind will be blown at how much better it looks then 3D vision monitors, at least better then the 6 different models I've tried...Including the Asus Rog Swift.

I just bought the c6p from a guy on craigslist, looks like the filter is broken, based on the rabbit test and the 3d crosstalk ghosting test. Also tried 3dtv play games in 720 and get ghosting and double images in some portions of the screen depending on how far away the object is.

Ok, I figured out the sweet spot is weird and once I found it I had no problems with ghosting or double images with sbs 3d youtube videos or 720p 3dtv play games. Now to try the edid override.....

congratulations my friend :-)
regarding the ghosting\crosstalk I don't think you should worry about that.
on the rabbit test I can see the rabbit on the black background and in some games where there is a very high contrast (white text on a black background I have some crosstalk).. I think its normal and most of the time I don't pay attention to it.
if anybody here has also the c6 or the e6 and don't have crosstalk - let me know please.
btw, do you have the 55 or 65?

Thanks immersion22 I have the 55, I just got edid working and played assetto corsa and shadows of mordor, both running and looking very nice. Running a 980ti I had to cut the resolution down some for better framerate. I also noticed the input lag is greatly reduced, I don't know which setting changed that through this process but it is quite nice because I thought I would never get used to it. The only negative I have to say about this tv is needing to find the distance sweet spot so I am not seeing double images, but I can live with that.

seems to be between 4 to 5 feet, which is good headroom but the vertical distance where my head is positioned is quite small because I can see doubles on the screen, but it does not seem like too much of a problem since the doubles appear at the very top or bottom and that is not where you normally are not focused on.

Hi gatorkea
I have the E6 (OLED55E6V in my country). Welcome to the club, you will experience images that you did not think possible before, be it movies or games.
There is indeed a big issue with the filters, as many others have commented here. My first TV was only faulty at the top/middle, the second one was perfect. I bought another one because I wanted to have two of them, and I'm now replacing it for the 5th time, always hoping the next one will be good.
In my opinion, if you have the option, try to get a perfect one. The main 3D crosstalk video is all you need to check. It should be gray throughout, no shapes visible.
If you cannot return it or source another one, then I hope you get lucky and find an angle where the broken filter//pattern disappears. For example, all the TVs I've returned could have worked if viewed from 10-20 centimeters "below" the vertical sweetspot, for example if I had installed the TV on a slightly taller table than the usual low TV tables. But I did not want to accept this situation, not at these prices.
If you cannot find such an angle, please return the TV asap.
On another note, I'm becoming quite the 3D movie connoisseur so if anyone has questions I can share my discoveries, we can even start another thread.
Here is the pinnacle of my discoveries so far:
- Due to the inherent difficulties with projecting 3D movies in a theater to allow each viewer to have a similar experience regardless where they sit, and due to moronic Hollywood suits that decided at some point to impose a very conservative 3D depth cut-off (see all the horribly flat Disney/Pixar cartoons starting even as early as "Up"), 3D movies in general have extremely disappointing depth. However:
1. Watching movies on these awesome LG TVs (even non-OLED) provides more depth and more impressive viewing than theaters, paradoxically. I cannot yet determine what's happening, but in addition to the added depth, I swear the frame rate is higher, images are much more smooth/dynamic than at the cinema.
2. There are artists that do not really care about this depth restriction, and are not afraid to make movies as they should be. One such artist is Ben Stassen. If you can get your hands on his movies, you will experience something that you've never thought possible - movies looking like our 3D Vision games, even with a pinch of added convergence sometimes. It's a revelation.
Hope this helps some of you discover the beauty of 3D movies as you've never experienced them (of course, an LG 2016 TV is needed), it has put me off games for a long while.
I'm also keeping an Excel sheet with all the 3D movies ever released, marking the ones I watch and rating them with regards to depth. Maybe I'll share this, once I have seen most of them.

I would like to try some movies in 3d, where do you get your movies from? I dont have a bluray player, I would rather have the digital copy. Also should I do a firmware update? I think I have the original version right now. When I was setting things up I went off of SoundBlstr's advice for settings, the colors do not appear to be deep when in 3d. Not that it looks bad by any means, but it appears to be a little more washed out.

For BluRays, I bought a PS4Pro, you can buy a standalone player as well if you prefer. The movies, I buy them cheap on Amazon, and I have a friend lending me plenty from his 3D collection. You can rip them easily with ripping software.
The best setup is a good quality rip (you can even find them as torrents) on a USB3 drive hooked to the TV. The media player inside the TV is the most awesome thing I've ever seen, you cannot compare it with anything on PC like VLC or PowerDVD. I think it's somehow "plugged" into the TV hardware and does amazing things with the image, some sort of real time processing, looks incredible.
For the setting, I think you just need to set HDR Deep COlor mode for each HDMI port you use. The rest of the settings, I did not changed much. Picture mode on automatic, so the TV chooses based on media being played. HDMI connection used for the PC set as "PC" in the Inputs hub.
If you are not impressed with the colors when watching 3D material, you either already come from gaming on OLED TV or similar, or you are doing something wrong. I was playing games on an ASUS monitor and when I saw the image on the TV I could not believe my eyes. It's too ambiguous when you just say "when in 3D", we need to know the exact context.

Trying to understand how this works, generally when I start up my pc I try 3d vision and it does not work then I restart the pc then it works. When 3d vision is inactive through the nv control panel, my tv(C6P) gets only 3 picture options. When I activate 3d vision I get several options, none of which actually looks as good as the options that work without 3d turned on. Also when 3d vision is on I get noticeably less input lag which is great... but I want to see 3d with the better picture modes, else games look just as good on this tv as it does on my dell 3d monitor.
