Hallo again i m quite new in 3d gaming and the questionmarks on my head are endless. First of all i would like to know if i really need the nvidia3dtv play to perform 3d gaming or if it is just a kit for better or much bettrer performance. I aslso would like to know if the only 3d resolutions are 1080p at 24 hz and 720p at 60 hz and if these hz reffer to framerate. Furthermore i cant adjust the stereoscopic depth in the nvidia control panel - i think for that i might need the nvidia 3dtv play but its not clear to me yet. It is quite clear that games which are made for 3d have the 3d option in their settings panel but there are so many other games which are compatible for 3d and i dont know how to play them in 3d. I could use a lot of help there though i know there are many posts here explaining the procedure. So far i ve tested the tomb raider 2013 in 3d and i was amazed but it didnt open again after an update in windows 10 - for that i think i ll work a solution but any suggestions are wellcome. My hdmi cable i think is 2.0 because i bought it recently but is there away to be sure? I ve done i lot of reading about 3d gaming in the web before i podt all these but nothing is clear yet so sorry for any odd questions. Finally is sonic all star racing transformed compatiblke to 3d? In conclusion i need to know what exaclly to do to play i game on 3d and have the besr performance.
My opperating system:
Intel core i7 4790
2 Gtx 970 in sli
16 gb ram
Samsung 55 inches tv js8500 4ķ 3D as amonitor
I couldnt thank you more for any advices suggestions and explsnations...

Yes, you do need 3DTV Play and yes those are the only 2 resolutions that you can use.
Thanks man for your time..... I trully hope nvidia could at least give us 60 Hz at 1080p soon because now with the new monitors and the new cables and ports this is possible. Thanks again.

There are almost no games with a 3D option in the settings, Elite Dangerous is one but you need to be able to display SBS. There a few games which are 3D Vision Ready which is perfect 3D including Tomb Raider 2013. This site is not up to date but you can see in the Nvidia stereoscopic panel the rating for a game in 3D.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-games.html
For the rest of the games you almost always need fixes from this site to play in decent 3D.

Hope this gives you some information.

if you have a Samsung your TV might support HDMI checkerboard . This would enable you to play at 1080P also the eye are reversed have to go into 3D menu of the TV to reverse the eye order.

Hallo to you and thanks for your reply. I ve heard that what you say is possible but I ve also noticed that it is not recomendable because it causes some issues. I dont know what issues exactly but i dont want to do something that harms any of the products i own. Do you know anything about all this that could help without causing damage. Thanks again.
What Issues ?
This is only way to 1080P via hdmi.
I own 2 Samsung's 3Dtv and use that for 5 years on 46c7000.
This doesn't harm the TV any way.
Thankjs again for the reply. So you play games in 3d like this? Is the outcome what you hoped to be? If you are certain about all this I should give it a go because I cant play in 720p though the game runs smoothly there and in 1080p the framerate is too low. Can i ask you something else? If you are playin games in 3d do you use the nvidia 3d vision kit? Is it a must for 3d gaming? Thanks again.

Nvidia's 3D Vision kit only officially worked with Mitsubishi DLP rear projection 3D HDTVs which were HDMI 1.3 and basically projectors in a box.
HDMI 1.4 compliant displays are supported via 3DTV Play. 3DTV Play is available to purchase for $40.00 but is free if you have an Nvidia emitter. Nvidia's emitter will only function as a product key, it is deactivated/inactive whenever using 3DTV Play. So if you are using 3DTV Play, you are required to use the Manufacturer's glasses/emitter or compatible 3rd party glasses/emitter.
If Checkerboard is a supported format on your Samsung, it will be called "pixel mode". So look in your owner's manual to see if your TV has it and follow the directions. It may require that you use a specific input and/or rename the input. (read the manual) Checkerboard is an interlaced format, so it doesn't have the 24Hz limit that Nvidia imposes on FramePacked at 1080P.
So the short answer is no, it is not possible to use Nvidia's glasses with your Samsung HD 3DTV.

As per D-Man11 said the hdmi port must be renamed to DVI/PC on the TV and the Samsung name for hdmi checkerboard is pixel mode.
My two Samsung TVs support it 46c7000 and 55HU9000
When using either 3DTV play or Hdmi checkerboard the 3D glasses from the TV must be used.

I m still checking about the pixel mode though i m not sure if it is supported. My tv which i use for pc monitor is samsung UE55JS8500 if you know anything about it. As far as the nvidia vision my question was if i can use the complete kit to my samsung - nvdia 3dtv play (which now i m in trial mode), the emiter, and the glasses - for 3d gaming. I will come back when i have done some more research about the pixel mode. Thanks again.
