World of Warcraft 3D Vision World of Warcraft Water and Settings
Just a question on what is happening with regard to either Blizzard or Nvidia fixing the water effects on Wow for 3D Vision?

Also with the new slider Bars, what do you think the best settings are for this game?

Thanks

Set water to fair, and use whatever settings you want.
Personally in 3D I usually target framerate and compromise on visuals until I hit it.
After shadows draw distance is the biggest performance hit.

Blizzard have shown no real inclination to fix stereo 3D since the first release, the sky would be an easy fix and it's still broken. The DX11 renderer breaks several things that work fine in 3D in the DX9 renderer, so it's clearly not a priority.
NVidia is too tied up trying to support new titles, they are clearly not interested in fixing minor issues in old titles, even those with 11M subscribers.

To give you some idea of how unlikely the new water effects are to get fixed, at one point the drivers broke 3D in Wow, it didn't work at all, it took both parties 6 months to fix it.

I know about the history, I remember the problem with WOW being broken.
I just want to see if anyone is going to fix it, and also what everyone thinks the best settings for the convergence and seperation bars are.

I dont have any framerate problems now though since upgrading to the i7 and 580.

I run at about 30% on both convergence and depth, but I'm running in surround which usually lets you get away with more convergence.
Usually I'll try to get my character more or less at screen depth at the zoom I'm playing at and just turn the depth to the point it's comfortable.

being a new 3dvision user all i can say is that i think its fantastic although there are a few issues with ghosting and double images but ive learnt to ignore them in world of warcraft as i spent most times in dungeons where its quite dark and the ghosting not so prevalent but ive found setting convergence amount to the first letter "e" in the stereo above the slider and for separation ive set it to the capital "A" on Amount(hope that makes sense)i leave the control in nvidia control alone just use in game one

what i get is a 3d mini world which is breathtaking its like when i went from playing a playstation 1 game to a pc using a vodoo card the jump in detail is renewed my passion for gaming
also the pop out in world of warcraft can be very good, sometimes when characters are on the bottom of my screen they appear to be standing out of my screen on on my destop

3d vision is the best update ive made in a long time hopefully they can iron out some of the ghosting issues and id recommend it to anyone
