Okay, I read your guide and I was under the impression that GeForce 3D Profile Manager and Profile Inspector were equally suitable and effective, and that the choice between the two of them was mostly a matter of taste.
I guess I could use GeForce 3D Profile Manager.
Although I am using already 3DFixManager which, in my opinion, seems to be a very interesting piece of software. It detected my 3D Vision compatible games and offered to download and install fixes for them, something that nVidia itself cannot seem to do. So kudos to all of you helping me here and also to HelixMod and all the contributors.
When you do say it is not a profile issue, I think of the renamed .exe file. Isn't it correct to assume that the unsupported .exe file runs using a "generic" profile for stereoscopic 3D? If that is correct, wouldn't it mean that the F.E.A.R. profile does something different from the "generic" one such that it impedes the correct activation of the stereoscopic effect?
I am asking questions that in my mind sound pretty logical but I can understand if they might sound silly to you and the other experts.
Cheers!

There's tons of differences between nPI and GF3DPM, nPI throws more inconsistencies into the mix than I'd like... export a Profile, delete the Profile and reimport it and it's broken kind of inconsistencies...
Yeah 3DFixManager is interesting if you're into that sort of thing, Pauldusler's doing a great job updating it and keeping up with people's requests... but I'm old school and would prefer certain things not done automatically for me and would rather gain a better knowledge and understanding of how things work.
Like I said I stripped every Setting out of the F.E.A.R. Profile, except for the StereoProfile flag and FEAR.exe still wouldn't trigger 3D... there was nothing left in the Profile that could've prevented it... better yet delete the F.E.A.R. Profile entirely and FEAR.exe still doesn't trigger 3D.
Renaming FEAR.exe to FEARMP.exe also triggered 3D using the F.E.A.R. Profile and it worked perfectly fine, as did adding another named exe... it's a bug.

What driver version are you guys running? We know that the 381.xx branch has some bizarre bugs for the Creator's Edition, so that branch is at least mildly suspect. Profiles are deeply connected to the driver versions.
It would be worth trying the prior branch, probably 378.92, which has been fairly stable for Win10 use.

bo3b,
I am using the latest driver (381.89) and so far I have not experienced any issue but it's not that I have been doing much testing.
Back to F.E.A.R. and 3D Vision: I am trying to create a custom profile using Profile Inspector, copying Stereo changes from the existing F.E.A.R. profile. So far none of the changes introduced step by step caused the issue, showing the cause of the original problem is a real mystery.
I noticed that in the bottom of any profile, there is a section called "Unknown". The original F.E.A.R. profile has a series of entries there (I guess showing the compatibility info for the user when a stereoscopic application starts) which are absent from the custom profile I am creating.
How do I enter new info at the right address and under the right section with Profile Inspector? It only seems to give the user the chance to change existing entries, and not add new ones?
Thanks!

Interesting, thank you.
Of course I did restart Profile Inspector. I was trying to figure out how to add those very lines you posted to my profile
What I have been doing was to export my profile (as .nip file) then open it with Notepad.
I added this entry to it:
<ProfileSetting>
<SettingNameInfo />
<SettingID>1884862177</SettingID>
<SettingValue>1</SettingValue>
</ProfileSetting>
which was correctly imported into my custom profile but I realized that I could not have non numerical values in the <SettingValue> parameter so I could only take care of a couple of those missing entries.
Where do I insert those profile lines you posted?
Thanks!

UPDATE: Well, I think I see what you did. You exported ALL profiles as a .txt file while I was only working on a single one.
Is there a way to add those information to the .nip file I created?
I tried my luck with this (to convert SettingString ID_0x7049c7ec = "1.0" // Value to .nip format):
<ProfileSetting>
<SettingNameInfo />
<SettingStringID>1883883500</SettingStringID>
<SettingValue>1.0</SettingValue>
</ProfileSetting>
but no dice. The syntax must be wrong. Does anyone know where I can find info about it?
Thanks again.
D-Man11,
yours is, simply put, arrogance. You do not seem to be capable of providing answers to specific questions but rather to copy paste links to other threads or give generic, and often useless, pieces of advice.
When I resurrected this thread, I made the community aware that there was a real problem with the game F.E.A.R. and 3D Vision on Windows 10. Others chimed in to confirm this and to try and find a solution. You had no idea.
It took TsaebehT a single post to figure out what it was and provide an answer. Please refrain from patronizing others, particularly considering that you do not seem to know that much yourself.
My questions were: is there a way to convert the profile info from the .txt file format to the .nip format? Is there a place where I can read about the .nip syntax? Your links do not answer my questions.
I'd be grateful if you in the future avoided "helping" me, thanks.

D-Man11,
thanks for ignoring me "officially".
Before doing that, I see you removed all the "You can lead a horse to water but cannot teach him to drink"-kind of crap from the post I objected to (I wonder why...). Better late than never, although I believe it is a trademark and it will resurface somewhere else. Good think I won't have to witness that myself again in the future.

Meh, the answers I gave you were valid. I never use a nip and export/import whatever I want. But that's just my dumbass. I do not know much myself.
I also see no need to be redundant and rewrite what is explained in other threads. (hence the links, but since you have no need of them, I did remove them)
