Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition. 3D ok? Any good?
Thinking of buying Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition.
But I already have the 3D Vision Ready original version sitting unplayed in my steam library. It's from years ago, so I don't mind forking out for the better version IF it still supports stereo and is graphically worth the upgrade.
The steam page doesn't mention 3D vision and I googled but couldn't find clear info.
Anyone try it?

Excellent Game
3D vision is excellent (Definitive Edition)
The Definitive Edition more detail and the city is very dense populated and the graphics are tweaked.
Instant Gaming has the game for $8.21

Initial impressions, world looks fine. Not as nice as GTA V but still pretty good. I put Stereo depth and convergence up full in the settings, which is "10" on both, but it's a bit weak. Next mission marker renders at wrong depth, but otherwise it renders properly, and no need for CM!
I went into the config file in the game's folder and changed depth and convergence both to 25, and it looks much better, plenty of depth. But if you change anything in the advanced graphics options the settings will mess up again, that's ok.
Game is fun, I like the fighting. But the start of the game is cut-scene overload, wish there was more actual gameplay and a bit more open. Hopefully that will get better as the game progresses.

Yeah I didn't like Sleeping Dogs in 3D to be honest. I gave it a go but didn't find the effect compelling enough to use. The mission markers made it impossible to enjoy for me, plus the depth seemed off somehow, even with a hack I couldn't get a real feeling of depth. Interiors worked ok and it did look good in a few crowded street areas, but as said, the problems outweighed the effect. It is definitely worth a try, I just couldn't get to drips with it personally. The game is decent, I found the setting a very nice alternative.

Cool idea to tweak the ini file for higher separation, that's the biggest problem with this game, they locked it low to "be-safe". On projector those settings are fine, but on monitor it's too low.
To fix the mission markers, we can probably do that with 3Dmigoto pretty easily. If you are up for it, give the latest version 1.2.7 a try, and see if you can hunt the mission marker. If you can find the vertex shader for that I'm pretty sure we can point you to the right fix for it.
It's weird that both GTA5 and Sleeping Dogs are good in 3D, and both botched the mission markers.

I tried this on the non-definitive version, but increasing the depth value only seemed to increase convergence, separation was unchanged. I tried adjusting the StereoEyeDistance value but this did not seem to change anything.
Anyone with the original Sleeping Dogs that could test this? I'm willing to buy the definitive version if the hack only works with that!
