Can't update 3D Vision drivers 191.07 to 195.39
Hi

I've just tried to update my Nvidia drivers from 191.07 to 195.39 - both GeForce drivers and 3D Vision drivers. When the update is finished the test application and games I try to run just show a black screen with occasional flickering and stuttering sound. Only a system restore back to 191.07 will let me play games again AT ALL. It's not just with 3D Vision enabled it goes mentol - it's with or without 3D Vision enabled.

I have experienced this the day I got the 3D Vision as well. I needed to update my driver and suddenly I couldn't run any games without the "black flicker" and stuttering sound. I had to reinstall Windows. I refuse to do that again! I can't believe that Nvidia on purpose releases such broken drivers, so it must be something with my system - or else many others must have the same problem, I just can't find them...

I have tried uninstalling everything Nvidia, but somehow that doesn't work neither. Not everything is removed properly as I still have the "NVIDIA Control Panel" context menu. And when I try installing the 195.39 GeForce driver the control panel shows that 3D Vision is already installed even though I uninstalled it. Furthermore when I try to plug in the 3D Vision Controller during the setup wizard my computer asks for the driver. I press the "Search automatically for update driver software" button as per the [url="http://nvidia.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/nvidia.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2412&p_created=1245978377&p_sid=aQXoTjMj&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MjQsMjQmcF9wcm9kcz0xMzImcF9jYXRzPTAmcF9wdj0xLjEzMiZwX2N2PSZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPWFuc3dlcnMuc2VhcmNoX25sJnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9Y29udHJvbGxlcg**&p_li=&p_topview=1"]FAQ[/url]. Total fail. Driver not found. Hooray! So therefore: System Restore.

Now the burning question is how do I update my drivers without breaking everything? I seriusly don't think waiting for a WHQL driver solves this, so I might as well just try it with this beta version.

Thanks.

Forgive me sillyness if I am reading this wrong, but why are you trying to install the Vision BETA drivers of 195.39? offical Released ones are still 191.07 at the mo.

Does your card work with he 191.07 ones ok?

No problem installing the beta drivers 195.39, I'm using them with Windows 7 x64.
You can't install drivers over other former drivers. You must first uninstall the drivers you are using. After doing that run driver sweeper and clean all the remains of the former driver. Download Driver Sweeper, analyse and clean Nvidia display. After doing that install the new 1.15 drivers which are the 195.39 drivers and the S3D drivers.
You must always unistall the drivers and then use Driver Sweeper before installing new drivers.
If you always do that you will not run into issues.
