Well, the game is in the very condition you would expect:
1) 3D Works - Convergence locked:
Nothing new there -
2) Was SO EXCITED for this - played just a few minutes and after the very first cut scene (a very short one with an AT-AT (I think) breaking through a downed tree or something like that -
AND THEN: As with other LEGO titles as of late, the screen went BLACK - and stayed that way.
Tried all the various options and res's from 1920 x 1080 to 5860 x 1080 and ALL with the same result.
Turn 3D off, it's just fine.
3) HUD is a bit different and at surround res's is WAY too big.
UGH I am so disappointed with them, the game LOOKS sweet, gameplay wise and graphically, in 3D IT'S STUNNING.. for about 5 min from initial launch and 2 or 3 after actually taking control.
So, if anyone is wondering, I would hold off on purchasing this, My son and I have a weak spot for these games and there has never been a moment I needed to ponder a purchase, but this is getting all too frequent now for my taste.
You can't tell me they continue to create games with near perfect 3D by accident (I know, the engine is probably used very universally making it somewhat possible - but I am sure that's not the reason), and if that holds true it baffles me why 3 out of the last 4 titles suffer from some seemingly trivial issue that renders these gorgeous titles unplayable in 3D. Sure, some games look/feel more broken to some thus making them unplayable by choice due to personal preference or tolerances. For others, playing the same game, consider it playable, or even acceptable.
BUT - with this issue, it's unquestionably and universally broken for ALL who wish to play in 3D.
I am going to put in a support/bug ticket with the Dev's (TT) and I suggest others do as well, when I finish I will post a link/copy of it. It won't be till the morning as I am getting my son off to camp - but will do so ASAP once he is all set and dropped off.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news :(.

I wouldn't count on TT support... I was in contact with them like 4 years ago related to Nvidia 3D.
At some point I was almost close to work with them as an employee, but decided not to for different and personal reasons. Anyhow... :)
I don't think they will ever support Surround properly and their 3D "implementation" is by accident most likely... There are/were a few guys there that are/were passionate about 3D in that period. Don't know if that is the case currently.
You can try to fill in a bug, but I doubt anything will come to fruition:(
I think Mike (Mike_ar69) is the best bet;)) as he fixed a lot of Lego games so far. I know he is silent lately, but I remember him saying he will come back around July;)
So, you can drop him a PM I believe and see what his opinion is on this game;)
Cheers!

Thanks for the response Helifax,
You are right, I have been through this before with them, I didn't even bother.. Plus getting my son off to camp was more involved than I anticipated (thanks to my ex-wife dropping the ball, nothing new i'm sorry to say - I should have anticipated THAT.) and ended up running around like a chicken with his head cut off - it worked out in the end though.
Anyway, yeah, Mike had figured out a way around this issue in Jurassic World, then Marvel Avengers came out and it was fine, now this. I don't want to bother him though, I am sure he has the game as he likes them with his kid(s), but whether or not he has the time is unknown and perfectly acceptable. With the amount of work he has put into fixing over the years, he owes us nothing but should he look at this one myself and my son would be very appreciative indeed.
@CeeJayII -
Yes, I have tried DX9 but same issue.
Also, I tried using the fix from Jurassic World (which isn't on 'Helix Blog' by the way) to no avail.. I was able to get the red text used for hunting but from there all it did was break the 3D effects that do work in the menu, intro and first few minutes of the game until it starts in one the black flashing.
Just like JW, the screen comes back while collecting coins but STAYS black if you don't/can't.
I also went into the game's config file to make sure the 'allowNvidia3D' option was present and enabled, it was.
I tried everything I could think of.
If anyone has even half a clue as to why this happens and possibly a direction to point me in I would love to try and fix this issue and get this to work. Is it even 'shader' related? Can we use 3DMigoto to override the res/refresh rate for the DX11 version? I am sure this is either not possible for some reason or is incredibly difficult otherwise Mike would have used it to fix JW.
Anyway, that's all I got for now - if I can find or think of anything else I will try it and let you guys know.

Also, I have 10 messages that I can't seem to get at, so if anyone has PM'ed me that's why I can't get back to you. Sorry for off topic, but is it the same reason I can't edit my posts?
It's very frustrating as this is the Only forum site I visit and participate in. The site LOOKS better than it did 10 years ago, but functionality (at least for me) leaves a little to be desired.
Maybe I am showing my age, and with this I am nostalgic, almost stereotypically so:
Back when I was your age (etc, etc..).. things were less flashy and complicated.. they just worked.. ahh the good ol' days.

Hi Guys,
I also tried the Jurassic park fix for dx9 but no luck. I did manage to get convergence and separation to unlock with migoto 1.2.40. I think I forced stereo =1 and uncommented 'allow_check_interface=1' and
'allow_dxgi1_2=1' to get it to work but it seemed to screw it up more even though I could now adjust those params.
The game looks pretty decent without doing anything, just the convergence is a little too high. If only I knew how to unlock convergence and separation without messing something else up.
I am a complete noob when it comes to this so any help would be greatly appreciated.
BTW how do the xyzw constants affect the way the game displays 3d? Does it relate to the perspective planes?? Can you minimise the crossover in say the 'x' plane by adjusting the 'x' parameter?
I did try Assassins creed unity for 3d comp. Nowhere near as nice but ok. :(
Maaaan!!... Hope this helps some anyways.

Hi!!
- Unlocked Convergence
- Shadows/Lights/reflections/Halos in effects fixed with 3Dmigoto (DX11)
- The game now don't have that black screen when you play
- HUD probably need texture separation

Shadows and Lights are fixed using an aproximate fix, using the projection matrix cause the entire shadows flicker like crazy (shadows are fixed, but flicker). This game have a fixed FOV, so no issue using the aproximate fix..works perfect!....tested in game and cinematics.
I will try to fix more stuff this weekend....my kid is desesperate to play this game in 3D and the next week start winter holidays.

I'm a fan of Lego, Star Wars and S3D gaming....so i must play this game in proper 3D :)
Now i fix shadows and lights using the Inverse Projection Matrix, i have to grab it from the VS and use it in the PS. Also i improve the HUD, is a hard one....because if you fix one thing, but broke another, even using texture separation. this game have a lot of HUD elements on screen...GRRRR!!!
I will re-install the Lego Jurassic Park, i bet all the patterns are the same.
Also now with the unlocked Convergence, i can use 1080 Top and Bottom Mode without issues.

Da da da daaaaa daaaaaa, da da da daaaaa daaaaa, da da da daaaaa daaaaa, da da da dauuummm!!
Awesome work, where would us poor 3d gamers be without you guys.
Has anyone had a go at VR yet? I would love to believe the hype so far.
Thank you SOOOOO MUCH DHR!!!! You are gentleman and a scholar, also a pretty damn good shader hacker!
I know, this (Star Wars) is were the movie themed LEGO games started, the last LEGO SW's (Part III) 'The Clone Wars' left a little to be desired in my opinion, but the 'Original' Trilogy and especially 'The Complete Saga' were literally 'game changing' it gave my son and I an instant connection, because, let's be honest, who DOESN'T like LEGO's, and for that matter 'Star Wars?'
So here was a very fine Children's Oriented game that had many adults excited to play as well..it was also easy to learn to play, beautiful graphics, some satire.. and that delicious (fans know what I am sayin here) LEGO 'Clicking' sound that so perfectly mimics reality when building things, also, on the flip side, a similar but distinct sound when pieces break apart (mostly when you battle other lego figures or your own character 'breaks')
So, thank you again, when my son gets home from camp he will be so happy!
Thank you for making this possible, my father and my son's grandfather died recently of cancer, we were very close, so it's been a very trying time, my son received a scholarship to go to the camp I mentioned, and his only hope for when he returns is for me to have this game up and running for us to play together.
So, when I say thank you, I mean that very whole-heartedly, to some a game may be a trivial non-essential part of life, but being able to build and maintain various PC gaming rigs and to have half a clue what to do to solve most issues is my talent, one of the few things I can create and share with my son better than the average joe.. so to me it feels good to be able to enjoy a game like this in surround and 3D as it takes both of us to a different place for a while, that 'immersion' is very therapeutic - and even if it's only an hour or two, we can laugh and gawk at just how amazing a properly calibrated 3D experience can be.
That's the kind of joy, and awe that you, DHR, and all those like you help to create and so selflessly, AND in a world where 'time is money' and everyone KNOWS 'you can't get something for nothing,' and that 'money doesn't grow on trees,' and lastly 'There is no such thing as FREE.' to top it off.
Thank you Again,
If there's anything I can do to help, let me know.

This game have new mechanics that make the game even more fun....today morning i play 2 hours with my son and the game is amazing....so you will have a very good time with your son also.
The only thing i can't make looks perfect is the HUD....fix one thing, but broke like 2. So i will leave that way.
I will probably upload to the blog tomorrow. In the meantime, you can test unlocking the convergence (the game will look a total mess btw):
1) Make a backup of "LEGOSWTFA_DX11.exe"
2) Open the "LEGOSWTFA_DX11.exe" with Notepad++ and search for "nvapi64.dll". You will found 3 of them in the same line.
3) Change "nvapi64.dll" for "nvbpi64.dll" in the 3 spots
4) Save and close Notepad++
5) Start the game
This fix the black screen and the locked convergence.
Cheers!!!

Sent a little thankyou for you DHR, I know I cant help with shader hacking and fixes in general as do not have time to learn properly but will help out where I can.
If there is a steam pool account where people can gift games for fixes I would love to help out there as well. Please send or post the account details so anyone interested can do the same. It would be great if all people using these fixes could contribute in some way to help this scene grow as it would be very sad to see it dissipate because of lack of support by those whose benefit from all the hard work you guys put into it.
Personally I spend hours and hours of my spare time designing Jewellery on CAD for my business and know just how many hours can get eaten up when troubleshooting, sometimes just to get one tiny step closer to the goal.
Warm Regards to all the champions of 3d Gaming, without you guys it would be a sad state indeed!!

@CeeJayII -
Yes, I have tried DX9 but same issue.

4) Save and close Notepad++
5) Start the game
This fix the black screen and the locked convergence.
Cheers!!!
