Hi,
we've tried out the game with NVIDIA 3d Vision, and it mostly looked really great, but there are some issues we would have to fix before officially supporting it. I can't promise it for release, but it's something we totally want to support.
But its DX9 apparently anyway.
EDIT: BE SURE TO CHECK OUT GAME REVIEWS BEFORE YOU PURCHASE THIS GAME. There are many reports of crashing, severe bugs, underdeveloped content and the like. The good news is that they are working on a patch and players have said that previous games may have been released with many issues that were fixed in patches. Because the game is highly modable, there will likely be a huge amount of mods available in the future changing all aspects of the game.
Tbh, I'm slightly disappointed that anything needs fixing. We have been asking for 3D support on the forums for ages.
Really - why are you dissapointed? The developer has clearly stated they are committed to making this work in 3D Vision. Given everything else they are trying to achieve (and the public expectations) with this release, that's pretty fantastic. Lets see how it pans out, it might be viable for a short term Helix mod, I'm certainly going to give it a go when it unlocks (I am pre-loading right now), who knows it might be straightforward...

That is bloomin awesome!

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

I'm dissapointed because 3DVision support was requested a long time ago. There is a big difference between "We want to support" versus "We are committed to support". There will be an absolute truck load of gameplay changes due to community requests after release so 3D Vision will become very low priority and I wanted to be able to play this in 3D on release, not wait 6 months.
Assetto Corso is an early release steam game and its 3DVision is as good as perfect. It can be done during development if its not completely ignored until after release.

We will reward the devs with more sales if they support 3D, but lets not bite the hand that feeds?
Its not very often we find games which are 3D ready day-1, so lets be patient and thank the devs for being kind enough to acknowledge our request without dismissing it out of hand or even being outright hostile to the idea.

so glad CBJ answered with that response. i have since PM'ed him asking for an update but he hasn't replied. im sure they are flat stick preparing for launch.
honestly, this game is looking awesome and being DX9 im sure Helix can patch over any issues in the meantime.
im in full support of egosoft on this one, not disappointed at all. "disappointed" is either not answering the thread or saying they wont support 3d at all

The proof of the pudding and all that. I was hoping it would work day 1. The fact they know there are issues already means it won't, hence I am dissapointed. Seems rather simple concept to me. I'm not gutted. I'm not abusive. I'm not completely unsupportive of egosoft (being as I bought every version of x-series back to 1999). I am simply dissapointed.

Target boxes are 2D... Oh dear. Rest of it looks OK though, some lighting issues. I only spent 30s looking though lol. Shadows seem to work, and some hud elemants are are wrong depth. I'm going to look at it tonight and will try and fix what I can, but 2d target boxes could only be fixed properly by the dev. I might be able to push them in depth (unless someone else beats me to it).
