I already have an sli rig with two monitors and would like to check out some 3 monitor gaming. I can understand needing more exact specifications for 3d but not for 2d. lets face it the 8800gt's still pack a lot of power to run any game with a very acceptable frame rate. might have to turn off some eye candy but still... they are good cards and should be capable of doing this. i was running borderlands on one card at native resolution with 16x anti-aliasing turned on... my frame rates were a little slow and it was then I noticed that sli wasn't running!
my point is im still happy with my current rig and not ready to shell out for 2 more video cards at this moment if i can avoid it. Maybe running 3 monitors would encourage me to upgrade?
Id like to know before i shell out the money for a third monitor.....
Thanks
Billy
and yes i actually tried to look the answer up and never found a clear answer.. most of the things i saw refered specifically to 3d surround.
