Cool, glad to hear you got it going. I've had a windows update screw me up before too, it sucks. I wound up trying a system restore to the night before, before the update, and then it was fine.

You should also be aware that Nvidia dropped Vista support for 3D Vision/3DTV Play several drivers ago.
Just an FYI, since you mentioned one of your rigs had Vista.

never had problems with it tough...
I clearly spoke too soon..
Rebooted and its broken again this morning.
Can someone tell me exactly which drivers (and which versions) they have installed for the Pyramid in Windows 8 x64 please?
I think theres an old driver hanging around soemhow and its breaking stuff.
I noticed that when I do the test and it hangs, if I unplug the Pyramid the test then un-hangs the PC and continues, so theres definitly something up with communication to the dongle.
Thanks,
Sam

You might go to device manager and try uninstalling and reinstalling the emitter driver vs doing a complete driver reinstall.
You are right about windows update, there was an official mention in the driver forum about certain rigs having trouble with installs. Download and save the driver, disconnect the ethernet cable, uninstall and install.

I've finally succeeded..
Basically yes Windows Update causes problems, the best thing as described above is to be offline it seems.. Get everything cleaned out (I had to manually delete some things as I said in my previous success post)
Install the latest and greatest, and get it all set up but DO NOT test at this point.. Reboot
Now do a 3D Vision Setup/Test.. and itll work..
Also a HUGE point thats not mentioned in the manual.. USB hubs cause problems, I found the magic eye straight into the PC works MUCH better.
Its been working for 2 weeks now!
I think I can finally claim success, CRTs definitely still work (I'm glad I didn't need to buy a new inferior monitor ;) )

Cool. Don't forget to 'unlock' those convergence settings in the control panel and visit the gamelist on http://helixmod.blogspot.com/ for fixes for a ton of games. :D
