Please add HDMI 2.0 Support to 3DTV Play...
  8 / 8
given the lack of response, I tried the emulator available on the internet that seemed to work for many, but it seems that , despite the fact that the emulator is recognized in Windows Device Manager, in NVIDIA Control Panel, I always have 3DTV Play logo and of course games don't engage in 3D at 1080p 60hz as usual on my Projo W1070 :( Besides, I wonder if this projo accepts HDMI 2.0 ?

I wonder how many cool things could be done if the 3D Vision drivers were open source. Certainly a lot more than what Nvidia is doing now with them. Come on, they probably just need to flip a switch called "unlock potential" to unlock the resolution and refresh rate limits (I have tested that the glasses work perfectly at anything over 60Hz (I wonder if driver modifications could make them work at 30Hz per eye)).

I've thought that too.. Along with how much would Nvidia want from people like us to privately fund that sort of development, which would be astronomical and a very slippery slope... for various reasons. Also regarding the open source idea, if would be amazing but would require a culture shift on their part and I get the feeling that even with 3d vision (or any of their developments) they'd rather keep their cards close to their chest in case the IP became more valuable somewhere down the line.

I heard Samsung are dropping 3D support for their TV's this is really sad. I have a 1080p 3d Tv from Samsung and they are even removing the 3D app content from their Tv's. which makes me believe that they are doing away with it.

It would be nice to step up to the 4k in 3d at 60hz. Getting to that point would be a big improvement and provide a large amount of adoption for a long time. I think people wouldn't mind paying for that type of upgrade because they are going to pay for Tridef since it does support it.

One unofficial - but excellent - solution exists for LG passive 3D 4K TVs - see EDID mod at https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/818183/3d-vision/gtx-970-4k-3d-vision-gaming-success-with-lgub850v-passive-tv-/post/4510149/#4510149 (see https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/918308/3d-vision/3d-vision-with-3d-tv-what-do-i-need-and-what-to-buy-/post/4839226/#4839226 for more information about EDID override).

Hi, I recently bought GTX1080 and a 3D TV which is capable of 4K resolution but has only HDMI 2.0 port and no display ports. So, yeah, add HDMI 2.0 support to 3DTV Play software!

Top/Bottom is more universal than SideBySide, it's the same quality for active or passive TVs ;-)

For passive TVs like LG's C6, TAB is much better than SBS, because conversion to TV's native line-interlaced format is lossless for TAB, while SBS throws away half of the remaining data (so, compute 4K image, but final display resolution is only 1080p). Note that some of the newer games at helixmod.blogspot include recent updates to 3Dmigoto allowing direct TAB (and SBS) display, using TV's 3D conversion mode, without any EDID requirement. I am not aware of any HDR-enabled EDID, but joker18's EDID does support 8-bit YCbCr mode (or RGB full-range), for great black levels...
