7900 GS locks up system when switching to stereo with hot key
I have a new 7900GS card (from BFG) on XP using drivers:

94.24 forceware
91.31 forceware stereo

When I use the hot ket (Crtl-T) to go into stereo 3D, it locks up the whole machine, have to hit the reset key to reboot.

If I turn on the stereo at all times from the control panel, everything works fine, but the hot key won't take me out of stereo mode. I would like to resolve this since in some games I have to go non-stereo to see the menus.

Any ideas anyone?

thanks

Two things!

First, you need matching drivers. You can get the matching 94.24 stereo beta at mtbs3d.com.

Second...there is no second. Have fun!

Well, now I have matching drivers, both are v94.24. System still hangs if I try to turn on stereo with the hot key in ALL games.

More info, everything is new 3 days ago (except XP which had to be 'repaired' since I went from AMD to intel processor).
abit IB9 motherboard
Intel Core2 Duo E6420
1 gb single channel 667 ram
BFG GeForce 7900 GS OC graphics board

nothing is overclocked. bios at failsafe settings. All temps are well below limits.

New system has not had a hang in any other app. Any suggestion are welcome!

Thanks

Isei,

THANK YOU! That worked! Of course now I'm wondering how much of a performance hit I'll see, but if it's bad, I guess I can start experimenting with OCing.

Thanks again!
