Minecraft Does Minecraft work in 3D?
Wondering if I should try this game and how it rates. I won't play any game that is not 3D enabled.

This game actually did run in 3D correctly when I used to have the TriDef drivers installed. It was pretty cool actually, like running around in a world of legos.

He can play minecraft in 3D with the mod, look up.

Also I'm with him, 3D games now stink without stereoscopic 3D.

his overall attitude towards games that dont support 3d is what i was commenting on. he will refuse to play other games that do not have mods and quite frankly i feel that it is a ridiculous outlook.

Well once you go 3D you never go back. I just love the 3D immersion. As a matter fact I especially love FPS only games. Does that make me a third person snob? It's just what I like.

I am afraid I no longer enjoy playing games in 2D anymore either. (Except 2D games of course.) This is obviously not a good thing. I now find I have to pretend to enjoy gaming on friend's pride and joy (non-3D) gaming systems. I find 2D graphics too flat now. I did try minecraft but because it didnt render in 3D I couldnt get into it.

My loss.

yeah i think it is. i can listen to a mono recording of a song and still appreciate it as a great song. jsut because a game is 3d doesnt mean you cant appreciate it, do you flat out refuse to play games that dont have the best graphics ever? how can you cope that games dont yet trigger your sense of smell? that must really effect your immersion...

Hi Qazax

With respect, I dont think it is fair to compare visual to audio mono for immersion. It is not like for like. The visual systems in the brain vastly exceed the systems for hearing. There is clearly information loss when you remove depth from your visual, e.g. without prior knowledge, if you positioned a mouse and a distant elephant side by side, there is now way of telling which has higher mass etc

Forgive this tenuous link but looking at nature reveals the significance of depth perception - I believe wolves have an established depth system but a limited colour system.

I think a better comparison would be to compare removing depth to colour. I wouldnt bother watching a sci-fi blockbuster movie in B&W but quite happily an arty flick. FTR: although I would prefer to watch a well made 3D movie in 3D I am happy to watch the same film in 2D.

I tried that wrapper and the performance was quite abysmal on my 560ti - it was also rather poor without 3d enabled until i removed the wrapper. An interesting concept but not one i would want to run in its current state :( additionally it seemed to be 'converting' some how so the frame update would lag during mouse movement like them custom 2d-3d conversion of movies knocking about lately.
