ive recently relised that the graphics card i have( GTX 550 Ti) supports 3D, and have recently purchased a 3D BluRay player for my PC, my question is is it possible to hook up my 3D TV and use that rather than having to get a new monitor so i can watch 3D movies, ive snooped around the graphics setting and it apears as thou it wants an IR reciver/sender to be pluged in which would normaly come with the monitor, but seeing as this is built into the TV im not sure as the setup process dosnt give me the option to use a TV as an output, im using a 46" LED LCD Sony Bravia 3D TV.
any suggestions are much appreciated

What software are you using for Blu-ray 3D playback?
What model# is the TV?
Is it HDMI 1.4?
I'm pretty sure if you are using Arcsoft TMT 5 or Cyberlink PowerDVD11/12 and it's HDMI 1.4, all you need to do is select the appropriate option in their drop down menu.

Assuming your TV came with 3d glasses and its own emitter, you should have no problem. Connect the card to the TV via HDMI or DVI and go. The TV should handle the 3d signal and deal with the glasses on its own.

I was also wondering about this - but I'm playing a game on the computer using SLI 465's (2) - will the computer still send the correct signal to my Vizio 47" LED/LCD 3D HDTV? the tv does have glasses as well. I just hope that it doesn't screw things up with the driver/computer as I'm currently unemployed (like quite a few other people these days) and can't afford a new "anything" atm /sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

It should work. At the very least, it will not harm anything to try. The signal from the HDMI port to the TV should contain the raw signal needed for the TV to interpret the 3d. It definitely will not hurt anything.

Believe it or not you have to shell out other $40 to nvidia to purchase 3dtvplay which does nothing else than unlocking features already present in the driver.

Yes, but not for 3D gaming as 3D Vision does not support 3D modes of your Sony, but you will be able to play BluRay 3D and such. Only Mits and samsung support 3D Vision gaming.
