WoW players: post to get 3D cursor fixed:
Well, I've been going back and forth with Blizzard support for about a month trying to get the 3D cursor fixed and the support rep said we might have better luck getting the developers attention in the bug forums as opposed to support tickets.

If you play WoW, put up regular posts on the following support thread!

The more we post on there the higher our chance of the devs putting a higher priority on this issue. The squeaky wheel gets the oil.

I'm more bothered by the framerate hit I take when using vision 3d in Warcraft... especially because it's only because of the 2D elements on screen. It doesn't make sense.

If I hide all UI elements (alt-z) my framerate can skyrocket to like 90 to 120 fps in some areas. But if i have several mods that put 2D things on the screen (healbot, Carbonite), or even if i use no mods but have a lot of 2D buttons up or my bags open or anything my framerate can slow to a crawl, sometimes in the teens.

going from 60 fps to 12 just cus you open bags or use mods that put 2D buttons on your screen is clearly a bug.. hope they're trying to fix it.

Well, another patch revision and still no fix.

*bump*

Whoever plays WoW in 3D, please help the thread on Blizzards bug forum grow so they fix the problem!

Patch 3.2 is out. 3D cursor is now working again! WoW no longer changes FPS when hiding or opening interface windows.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for posting about that changes in patch 3.2. Everyone should know that this patch makes a huge difference in 3D playability, and now there is no way I could go back to playing WoW 2D.

Also, great job with the 1.10 drivers.

I just played wow and i have 3.3 (so patch 3.2 is included) and i DO NOT know how to make my mouse 3d. Can someone help me? Everyone says that "YAY! 3d cursor is fixed" lol WHAT 3d cursor? An option in game? An option through the 3d programs? It really sucks that i cant get the mouse to go 3d but it appears that others have found a way to. Plz be specific as I'm new here and thanks all...great community.

I am more concerned about UI issues with WoW and 3d vision. UI objects seem to randomly cycle between 3d and 2d. granted i am using addons but it should take that in account.

There is an option "hardware cursor" in the video setup of wow, disable it.
