How do I connect my shutterglasses? This may be easy..
I've bought a pair of shutterglasses but they dont fit on my nvidia card.

Here is a picture of the glasses, And here is a picture of my 7600GS

Is there a way to connect the glasses to my card?

Thanks.

Yes there is.
It look like You missing the "dongle/box" where You connect Your glasses and the monitor. The "dongle/box" is then plugged into Your graphics card. Here's a picture of what the "dongle/box" looks like if You have the eDimensional glasses:
http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/774/eddonglebm9.jpg
Sometimes You can buy (spare) glasses without the dongle but You need 1 dongle.

I see, thank you.

So normaly that "dongle/box" is sold with the shutterglasses. And there's no way to connect the glasses another way like puting it in the video-out?

No, the dongle/box syncronize the glasses with the CRT monitor otherwise You see no 3D.

you could also try to build one on your own ... :)

there are a few sites offering how to do it and here's one example

These glasses are the old ones from Elsa/Asus. I have one which came with my old elsa Asus v6800 or so. I think it is older than Geforce 1 and 2. The glasses were directly conected to the Graphics card. Later it was replaced with newer glasses, which had the mentioned Dongle/Box with them and work with all VGA Geforcecards (DVI can be changed by adapter back to VGA).

Maybe you could get a cheap Elsa Revelator with this Dongle from Ebay(20-30$? They are realy cheap here in Germany). You woldn't have to tinker and the glasses'd be much more comfortable. That old one looks realy heavy!

for a cheap all in one solution I'd recommend my Razor3D glasses for ~20 Euros ... :)

Sorry I didn't know You once could get glasses without a dongle/box.
The ones at at 79,95 looks just like mine.

The ones at 19,95 are they with a dongle/box???

You can also get some here:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16826504001

They say they work with LCD but is that really true???

Hi Freke,

if you mean the Razor3D that I linked, then yes, they come with a dongle and a very long cable to attach the glasses

I think the Razor ones are cheaper products from ED. So they should 'work' with that ED-LCD wrapper - if at all with LCD.

If LCD is necessarry I'd go with Anaglyph and Nvidia or KindDragon's open Stereo-driver /whistling.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' />

Making one myself looks complex and I don't want to spend a lot of time in it, so I have bought a pair with dongle in germany. Maybe the same, also €19.95 I bought them at http://cyberhaven.de/ Only a shame that I had to pay €12.00 for the transport to Holland  And shipping them to the US would be a lot more than €12.00 but if they do their job, the few bugs don't realy matter.

Thanks for your replies. :)

That was very interesting, but I have 3 questions about it.
1) I see it uses a DIN3 connector, but the shutterglasses I know about (eDimensional and Razor3D) use a jack connector. Is it possible to adapt the device to use a jack connector?
2) What is KindDragon's stereo driver?
3) Is there a site that explains how to build a pair of shutterglasses? (yeah, I know "I can just buy a pair", in fact I already have a pair. But the technical aspect is what intrigues me)

LOL

I bought my Razor3D also at Cyberhaven ... :D

Usually the shop owner is very sraight forward for bundled shipment, eg. back then I ordered 5 pairs of glasses for a few friends and me and the shipping costs stayed about the same.

for the 3.5mm mini jack connectors, you'd need a VGA pass-though dongle as there are linked a few on the "homebrew" page, but to make it short, you'll need for example this page:

http://www.nord-com.net/accot.schulz/Shutt...ptors/PTTR.html

1) no Idea, but it should. There has to be one pin somewhere which transports vSync. I think this one has to be connected to the Shutterglasses.

2) I was hinting at this topic:
http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=38278

KindDragon 'publishes' his S-3D 'driver' here.

3) I have some old Elsa Revelator's which stopped running. I took them to pieces and was amazed how complex they are. There were more smal chips and transistors than I had ever emagined.

-The glasses are naturally polarized in one direction and can switch on an additional layer in 90° to the first --> it gets completly black. They were connected with something like a cable and can dangle down from the glasses on them or moved to a different place. Unfortunatly, I couldn't find anything defect on the glasses. The plastic hull was broken, so it couldn't get back into original form...

I don't recomend to open glasses which are not 100% broken, or try to build ones of your own.

HMD's build with old small LCD displays and magnifiers would make more sense.
