Soul Calibur VI

The eternally misspelled fighting game returns on steam this morning and I can happily report is very good out of the box in 3d vision and made even better the DHR's UE4 universal fix. All the environments i have seen so far look perfect. but I haven't seen them all yet. There remains a couple of issues. * Some character shadows are off. This one is weird because it's not all characters. Example Tira * Reversal edge cut scenes in the fight have some halos. (maybe supers as well.) * Normal HUD issues and convergence popout extremes in cut-scenes. Still, supremely playable in 3dvision on day one. https://store.steampowered.com/app/544750/

Nice. I checked the forum for updates about 40 mins ago, and went over to Steam, saw SCVI was released and thought to myself, "I'm surprised Necro hasn't posted up anything about this yet," came back here and refreshed and sure enough here we are!

Haha yeah I'm not usually much of a SC fan, but this game is actually really nice in 3D. Geralt fans might also want to pick it up, I would say they have done a better job translating him in this game combat wise than the Witcher 3. One thing that really annoys me is this game appears to have all the features I am missing in T7 like saved replays and Online fight request in all modes. and just cause it makes the beautiful backgrounds look like shit. Open the following file: %LOCALAPPDATA%\SoulcaliburVI\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Scalability.ini Add the following & save: [PostProcessQuality@3] r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0 This'll disable just the depth of field effect while leaving the other post-processing effects enabled. YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE YOUR POST-PROCESSING EFFECTS SET TO MAX IN THE OPTION MENU FOR THIS TO TAKE EFFECT. If you want to run the game at the second highest setting for post-processing effects instead, use [PostProcessQuality@2] instead. this also appears to improve things in the in the reversal edge cinematics

I'm drowning in work in progress fixes and games to fix/play, so I'll wait for a sale for this game (I also don't like how stingy they are with DLCs and preorders). Whenever I get it, if no one did it first, I'll try to fix the remaining issues and add hotkeys for random stuff like usual. If you want, Necropants, post shaders here or contact me on Steam if you want me to fix some things "blindly".

@Necropants Probably those issues are related to a custom DOF shipped with UE4 (used in Cinematics and others parts)...i'm seen that shader is some games and is always the same HASH#....so if you have lucky :) ...download the file attached, change extension and copy in the shaderfixes folder.

Thanks guys. Most of the issues that remain actually seem like they are related to the custom armor part's, I have also noticed a few effects that are broken during special moves. (nightmares soul charge). It's hard for me to capture shaders due to the brief time they are on screen. Shadows are definitely broken on most of the Super move and Reversal edge animations. Will try that DHR. (yep no change)

Did I miss setting up a profile or something for this game because firing it up, it is fully broken for me in 3d. One eye not rendering anything even though 3d kicks in after setting the graphic options into full screen. Shaders also seem very off.

You must have. I didn't make any changes, make sure you are using the latest driver. Only thing that's broken is the Reversal edge cinematics (slightly broken shadows) Tiras shadows and a few of the Customization items

Saw the nvidia message start with a good rating.. Character selection still terrible looking but the game-play is ok. Broken shadows as usual and no option to turn them off... Wish they would let that be an option as always.. Probably would benefit from a slight fix.

I've had this up as 4K and I think details are great in this game. Played a session of Arcade mode. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvhjTfc7qK_n9mJBPtLQa-g At least got a bronze with Taki. Now all I want to expand into 3D recordings as well but I don't know how to proceed since ShadowPlay seems to be broken in 3D Vision. I'm getting a serioous artifact section between right and left eye and full width SBS. To get it playing on Youtube I would like to quickly squeze the video to half size and remove the artifact which obviously re-encoding. I'm downloading Adobe Creative Cloud to see if I can get a decent workflow and get minimal artifacts during re-compression. I'm playing at 27" and expecting people to watch at 65" which means I have to adjust depth accordingly. Currently it would be around 50%. Using two MadCatz Tournament Edition Fight Sticks. They are still as good as when they were new. Don't think they will ever break down. Can't imagine playing on anything else the horror. Like a controller, no way. Keyboard is out of the question.

Character select screen is perfectly fine for me, (it's just at screen depth.) and only the shadows on Tira and in the reversal edge cinemtaics is broken and barely noticeable. @Flugan I wrestled with shadowplay recording for a while, there are some bugs. 1. Only 1.7.2 Of the Nvidia 3dvision player works. (new version does not work properly.) 2. You must set 3dvision on then reboot then enable shadow play. Else it doesn't render 3dvision correctly. 3. They also seem to break it with every release of geforce experience in new and interesting ways. Personally I gave up messing with it and would just be happy with a reliable 2d shadowplay recording but even this is tricky. I haven't tried for a while but I remmeber having to do some sort of voodoo ritual to get it working properly.

Check out flugan.net just put it up today. Worked on it for the whole weekend. Did many more videos but I forgot to disable the FPS counter so had to throw them out. The actual website came online just now. I'm having fun right now. It's a bit slow. Play for 20 minutes then spend 2 hours just to upload. I will try to get nice Shadowplay recordings next not sure I can get it to work. thank you for the list of problems.

Shadowplay seems fine to me now. Kingdom Come: Deliverance records fights (and some random things) automatically and those have come out fine.

At last, I bought the game. It's on indiegala for $19.99 until barely more than 35 hours from now: https://www.indiegala.com/crackerjack You can expect a fix from me later on, as always :). Unless I can't contain myself (it happens lots of times), there are other fixes I need to finish and polish first.

In the end I couldn't avoid doing it. - Depth of field toggle. - HUD depth presets and HUD toggle. - Fixed distant shadows (the pattern isn't in the universal fix regexes). - Fixed distant fog. - Fixed the problem in super moves (5008 flag + textureoverride, like in Dragon Quest XI). - Realistic specular lighting, with some manual exceptions for special effects that didn't look good with this. The universal fix is a very good base to start the fix (thanks, DHR). I added some regexes and a few manual shaders. With the things I've seen in 3 hours of gameplay, now it looks perfect, I think. Reversals have a heatwave that isn't perfect, but maybe it's unfixable. I'll try some more things anyway. I know I'm trying to fix too many games at the same time, but this game is almost ready for the blog now. I need to try lower internal resolutions and other settings first.
