  2 / 4
Hi guys! New user here but long time lurker, been here over the years sometimes as I am an nvidia 3d vision user. I was giving up on the whole 3d thing as there seems to be so little support from the developers and nvidia themself whitch is sad. But a friend told me about this new maybe push from nvidia so I have been following what happened over here for the last months and I just couldent belive my eyes when I was reading this and I just had to register and say hello and lets hope this thing is for real, if so my next card will most definetly be nvidia again :)

I have been putting off playing Bioshock infinite, for what seems like, forever now. I've been hoping and praying something like this would come along. You guys have no idea how hard it was trying to avoid the spoilers for this game. I can't wait to jump in and start playing it . Now...if only the Download link would start working :P

I tested new drivers shortly, its "power 3d" feature like Arioch1 said. Seems to be better than tridef's p3d from the looks of it. Pretty good feature, hopefully you can apply that to a lot of other games.

I have tried BF and AC IV, they look good in my opinion but depth isn´t as good as usual, is some kind of Power 3D as Arioch1 said, convergence dosen´t work. Better this than nothing , Well done Nvidia!

In order to play it the way I like it, the gun hud separates way to much.

Enzel is right. Only tried AC4 and Bioshock Infinite so far, and they're definitely using some kind of fake 3d. Depth is minimal, convergence is [s]locked[/s] restricted to a very limited range, and I'm seeing haloing artifacts. On top of that, the performance impact is enormous. I've not played AC4 before today (bought but waited in the hopes of a 3d fix), and I don't have any kind of framerate monitoring software installed. But just eyeballing it, 2d mode looks to be sitting at a fairly solid 60fps, and I'd put 3d in the low 20s. For AC4 and Bioshock Infinite at least, this isn't the fix we were hoping for. It's slow to the point of being unplayable (on SLI 660s, fairly low settings), and looks ugly to the point where I'd rather play in 2d.

I really hope that this new "Power 3D " feature isn't our mid January announcement. I avoid it like the plague on Tridef.

With this many newly "supported" games, we can be certain that it is. And it's awful.

Just tried Hitman Absolution, same deal. It's awful. So far AC4, Bioshock Infinite and Hitman are not fixed, they're operating in this power3d mode - and they all look terrible. In the case of BI and Hitman, BI looks a million times better with Helix's fix, and Hitman looked better before (with some minor issues). Nvidia, what the hell are you doing? EDIT: Same with Saint's Row 4, AC3.

Not the great deal we was hoping for then but it's better then nothing and to see nvidia are actually trying is something I was not expecting :)

I'm not sure it is better than nothing. It looks bad and kills performance. AC4 was the worst affected in terms of framerates, but other games suffered more than they should have. It's nice to see nVidia taking an interest, but the community is coming up with far better solutions than this. Someone who plays Bioshock Infinite in 3d now will get the impression that 3d is just a fad. Someone who played it with Helix's fix would be blown away.

I will just ask one thing - How much performance do I need from GPUs/CPU to get ACIV BF at 60FPS on 3D vision at 1440P monitor??? Given those conditions + max settings and ALL Nvidia shader technologies included, Will this work? - i7 5930K Haswell-E 8-core - Maxwell GTX 880 - 16GB DDR4 RAM Do you think 2-way SLI is needed in this case? Do not worry that the info about those components isn't clear and released yet, but based on the rumors and what companies have predicted to be, just give a "guess" answer...

If the 3D for these games are as dismal as people are saying they are, is it posible to use our tried and trusted Helix fixes for games like BI? Or does the driver screw up the fixes?

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
