Hello guys!
Just wondering what kind of FOV you like in games with 3d ?
E.x what you have it in Far Cry 3 ?
In Far Cry 3 I like to have it at around 100 percent and think that 90 is the lowest I can handle.
Anything lover then 90 is a no go in games 3D or no 3d!
Finaly it seems that the devs gives us pc gamers proper support like FOV whitch anyone can agree is a must for us Pc Gamers :)

Like the hmz-t1 is 55 degrees fov(I think)
Occulus Rift is 90 degrees fov
He has 70 degrees FOV covered by his display.
I have a projector but I never really checked my FOV but in games I like 80
Right, the size of the display plus the viewing distance equals to 70º in my setup.
I run away from scale model effect. I prefer a lot more to aim for life like sized objects. Being more a simmer than a gamer, it has always been my preference for stereo 3D.
And a requisite to achieve this is to match display FOV and game FOV.

I prefer a 90° FOV in my games. Sadly, it's not possible to change the current FOV in many games. I think it's because the casual gamer won't notice it.

You may clip our wings but we will never forget how it was like to fly
Yeah me to as said earlier, 90 is the lowest I will go and about the games that not have the FOV option you can try google for a XML File fix or try widescreen fixer but you probably know that allready :)
Agree it's a shame for the games that not can be fixed as a narrow FOV can make you feel dizzy/sick even infront of a monitor so heres hoping every dev do a FOV option as we are not some fuc.. console gamers :D
Have seen ppl even like 110% in FOV and Far Cry 3 has it for an example but such a wide FOV feels to me like a fish eye hehe!

I like about 80 to 90 depending on the game. Any more than that looks "fisheye" to me. I cut my teeth in online fps games with quake, which had a default fov of 90. so.. yeah.

I hate that fish eye effect! I've hated it since the friggin' Air Warrior days of the late 80's. The moon should look round, not pear shaped! I tend to push the FoV down from the default.
Oh, and that whole motion sickness thing is probably true. And it's also probably true that some people will get sick if FoV is too high. And some will get sick when the refresh rate is too low. And some people will get sick if the frames/second are too low. And some will get sick playing any game that isn't pure 2D. Motion sickness in video games has been a mystery for years and I'm sure I've heard at least a dozen cures that worked for somebody.

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. Instead of altering their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views ... which can be very uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.
True guys, it's a preference what FOV you like so whatever floats your boat I guess :)
Agree tho that to high gives the fish eye effect as said earlier and to low feels like playing in a box!

Isn't the point of 3D to make for a more realistic experience? Whatever floats your boat, I guess, but 90 degrees FOV is pretty ridiculous and unrealistic unless you are sitting inches away from your screen.

We have just about a 180 degree fov in real life so what really makes for a more realistic experience, 55 or 90? I'd say 90.
I hope they give an option to take away the fisheye effect and one to lessen it for those with very wide monitors that don't wrap around. If people kept their eyes centered in the screen and didn't move them around it would be totally realistic if the rendered fov matched your screen fov, but we don't keep our eyes still, so i wish they would get rid of/lessen it. In 3D it is especially weird looking.

90 degrees is more realistic in the sense of how much of your enviroment you could see if you were there. But 90 degrees shrunken to the 40 or 45 degrees that a monitor use to cover isn't realistic at all in terms of emulating how we perceive the world. So, what is better depends on what you are after.
Anyway we are living a relatively primitive era in regard to screens. A 27" is still ridiculous compared to our massive FOV. I guess in the future images will surround us. But no so soon I guess.
High FOV head mounted displays will be good temporary solution, at least for those of us who don't care wearing one.
Projectors are also a good interim. I love mine.

Well say if you have your FOV at around 45-50 same as console games I heard, then infront of a monitor as you sit close feels like you going crazy and 90 FOV is the lowest I can go and feels nice but if you like to sit close and only see such a narrow FOV and be happy then go on, I cant understand how you can play so thou!
Yeapp ZlothX my walls are curved haha ;)
E.x 50 cm away from my 27 Asus and 90 FOV feels damn nice :)
