Hey guys, I thought I'd share this cool tip courtesy of zangets. With this I got DSR 1440p to work in 3d on my w1070.
Programs needed:
CRU - http://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU
Analog Way Edid Editor - http://www.analogway.com/en/products/software-and-tools/aw-edid-editor/#dl
Steps:
1. Open CRU
2. Select the desired monitor/projector
3. Click "Export" on bottom left and save the .bin file
4. Open AA Edid Editor
5. Drag the .bin file from CRU into the EDID editor
6. Delete any resolution above 1280*720
Here's how mine looks like:

7. Save
8. Now import it into CRU again
9. Restart the computer
10. Voila!
I've attached my edid that works with w1070 in case anyone wants it. Just rename it to DSR.bin or anything else.bin
Steps:
1. Open CRU
2. Select the desired monitor/projector
3. Click "Export" on bottom left and save the .bin file
4. Open AA Edid Editor
5. Drag the .bin file from CRU into the EDID editor

Thanks, works! Well i just took that w1070 EDID and works fine for my sony hmz too. 1440p or 1080p makes huge difference compared to 720p IQ wise. CM seems to have less haloing at higher resolution. Could be placebo caused by much higher IQ in general but CM seems to look much better at higher resolution.

Sorry guys, maybe I'm being a little dumb here, but what exactly do you do...?
I can see you just deleted all the other resolutions above 1280*720, but how exactly does that then enable DSR??
Are there any other steps?
I use a P5390W (1280*720*120) and would love to get a higher render resolution.
Cheers.
Have you enabled DSR in nvidia control panel?
3D Settings->Manage 3D Settings->Global Settings->DSR - Factors.
Just click it and wait for the dropdown to appear. Takes forever on my machine.
I would recommend 2.25x and 4x which translate to 2D as 1.5 ratio or 2 ratio.

Haha... No...
Cheers Flugan, found it... Will have a play later tonight after work..
Many Thanks....
Cheers guys, got it all working...
I just simply used CRU and deleted or un-ticked every resolution except the following two under (Standard resolutions)
1280x720 (16:9) @ 60hz
1280x720 (16:9) @ 120hz
Rebooted, then enabled the DSR resolutions under Manage 3D Settings.
Just tested with FarCry 4 & Watchdogs, simply selected the new DSR resolutions under options with those games and that was it..
Will have to tune DSR and settings as I'm def pushing my 780xSli to the limits now... prob time for an upgrade, but this is a nice improvement until true 1080p 120hz projectors are mainstream....
BTW: I use an Acer P5390W but use the Acer H5360 inf file as they are pretty much the same projector.
Did anyone manage to make a Edid for 1280x720@120Hz?
I tried modifying the Acer H5360 but NVCPL always whos aditional resolutions.
Sorry but.. what exactly did NV CP do.. ?
thanks for the tip! have any of you guys with 720p projectors noticed any significant difference in terms of quality when playing in 3d vision at higher resolutions through DSR ? In your view is it worth the performance cost?

It looks rather great, but also demanding.. The visual difference to downsampling is rather small but worth it when it's possible..
I use downsampling 1080P in latest games, and DSR X4 in older ones..
EG. Tomb Raider 2013 runs smooth in DSR while Rise of the Tomb Raider has to be downsampled 1080P..
On i7-4790 4,8 GHZ and single 980TI

The difference to 720P in modern games is very very noticeable if you use DSR x2.25 but especially 4X.
To be honest I prefer using TB 1080P which in some instances looks better than DSR (but has more aliasing)
However in Multiplayer games 120HZ that 720 can provide is very welcome.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?
