3D Vision + Quadro FX 4500
Hello,

We have a Quadro FX 4500, 3D Vision Hub + 3 PIN mini din connector and Samsung Syncmaster 2233RZ display.

The new drivers suggest the Quadro card supports the 3D vision hub, however we are getting (what I suspect) are sync problems.

The display successfully flips between the left and right eyes, however not correctly.

To test this, we created a simple opengl program displaying a solid blue coloured image only for the left eye and a solid red coloured image for the right eye (when combined creating a purple image). When viewing the application through a single eye, the top half of the screen displays the correct colour e.g. blue, but the bottom half red. ?!?

Any suggestions on how to solve this would be appreciated!

Thank you.

Regards,

OpenGL does not work for GeForce Cards, just Direct3D.

For the Quadro cards, being professional graphics cards, OpenGL should work (unless things have changed!).

Please tell me ... Does openGL work in 3D vision on Quadro cards? Is it fully supported?
No guessing, please.

I ask this because, if it does work, then I am interested to buy a Quadro card in order to play openGL games in 3D.
My current belief is ... it wont work. But I hope I am wrong.

Hi

OpenGL stereo + 3D Vision is supported on these Quadro boards: http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro_pro_graphics_boards.html

On OpenGL the applications need to be written to take advantage of stereo (something called Quad Buffered OpenGL). Games don’t normally do this.

So I managed to get the sync working by unplugging the 3D sync connection that comes out of the 3 pin mini-din port from the back of the quadro card (leaving the usb connection still active).

However, activating the IR glasses is still very temperamental.

(It is worth noting we have a normal 3D vision hub not the Pro hub as we thought it was too expensive).

Any suggestions for getting the glasses to shutter reliability would be appreciated.

Thanks.
