Interesting discovery for those with ghosting......
Hi All,
Like you guys I suffer from really bad ghosting in all games. I have the samsung monitor and I suffer from top and bottom 20% each ghosting in EVERY game.

However........I just download the avatar demo and to my surprise there is ABSOLUTLY no ghosting at the top of my screen.
I have even set my depth to 100% and still ZERO ghosting!

Usually when I set depth to 100%, the image in the center of my monitor is spread really wide across my screen.

If someone here who is tech savvy could explain this I would be very interested, because it seems to me, that if every game ghosts apart from Avatar there is every possibility that these ghosting issues that everyone is suffering from could be game/driver related and thus maybe a fix of some kind?

That would certainly be exciting if so. Some have posited that it could be related to sync-timings being very slightly off.

I think it's just the colour palette in certain games makes the ghosting show up less, but I can still see it at times in the avatar demo. A good example is the bright jungle bits in Far Cry, you see very little ghosting there. Basically any time there's bright things next to dark things, you see ghosting. When the whole scene is bright (like avatar), you don't see it.

It's useless to fight the ghosting too hard ... there are a few things to do like lowering refresh rate to 110Hz, messing with lowering contrast, etc ... but the monitors are at fault.

I went to a Fry's locally where they seem to be demoing 3d vision on DLP's now in the TV section. Practically zero ghosting. Clearly there are ways to do this properly.

With any luck I will be picking up a Mitsubishi 3d ready DLP sometime this or next month. I can't wait. /w00t.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':w00t:' />
