Just tested this new game Depth Hunter - its an underwater spear-fishing sim, with in-built native support for 3d vision. Looks very nice, screenshot attached. The game is not for everyone, but just taking a swim after a hard day can be relaxing /rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Description:
Depth Hunter offers 25 exciting missions in which players will hunt different fish species and face the difficulties of breath-holding spearfishing, an ancient fishing method. Players will also have to fight predators, can find treasures and get the possibility to take underwater photos to capture the beauty of the simulated, detailed and lively underwater worlds they’re exploring also in a free mode. The game supports motion controllers, such as the Razer™ Hydra® system.
Spearfishing and Underwater Hunting are ancient fishing and hunting methods, used to catch fish and shellfish by using a mechanical harpoon. Today, spearfishing is a sports activity in many countries around the world, especially in the UK, around the Mediterranean Sea and in South America. Spearfishers hunt while diving apnoea, holding their breath, so have to coordinate their energy carefully while monitoring their prey, especially in tactically challenging hunting situations.

I loved the diving parts in Tomb Raider Underworld so I was very excited to find a game that offers an experience with graphics that are almost as good as in TRU. The support for S3D is great! The developers also used an interesting tweak that allows high deph and convergence settings for the first person view: objects below a certain distance simply turn to 2D to prevent crosstalk. At first glance this looked strange but I got used to it soon and enjoyed the great depth experience. In a first-person-shooter You usually have to use low convergence settings to prevent crosstalk for the gun in front of You.
A hint: At the beginning I was very frustrated as 90% of the harpooned fishes could escape as did loosen the line when I was told to do that. Then I discovered that it is much better to pull the line as fast as possible (using the XBox 360 controller helped) to catch the fish before the line breaks. If You loosen the line the fish can swim away from You and will escape by this way.

The problem is that you cannot adjust convergence, and you can see the harpoon line comes close to screen and gets 2D again, just like 3D4dd said. this is really strange, looks like the line bends when close to you just like the ground does, if you swim close to the ground you will see that the ground right in your face bends a little it is something really strange, but besides that and the Photographic Camera HUD (that is at wrong deph) the 3D is really good...

Just tested the demo for Depth Hunter 2 on steam and unfortunately the game crashed with enabled 3DVision. Also tried windowed mode and Aion-profile but the game crashes, too. There is already a topic in the steam forum of the game and the developer promised to add 3DVision support. Maybe showing Your interest could be helpful ;)

It amazes me how a company with limited resources can provide a patch for indie game yet a major development house like Ubisoft which was part of the NVidia Watch Dogs promotion doesn't even care.

Causes crashes for anything that might conflict with their overlay. They no longer respect the check box to disable it, so even if you turn it off in the Settings, it still loads.

Thank You for the hint. Unfortunately it didn't help. The problem seems to be the new game engine itself they used for part 2. Quite a shame as the engine they developed for the 1st part was especially designed to support 3D Vision. Now DH2 even doesn't start with 3D enabled :(
