I used to have a 3D monitor up until about late 2013, in the time I had it I got through quite a lot of the Helix fixed games and other games that supported it. It was great when it worked.
I assume with the movement to DX11 and the like, and the fact that the industry as a whole has moved away from 3D, that there hasn't been much development in 3D Vision since then? Is that crappy pop-up book style, flat 3D the norm now? Is it worth getting another 3D Vision monitor at this point?
Thanks a lot.

Have you looked at the Helixmod blog? Most games are fixed even if they are DX11. There are still a few recent DX11 games that have proper 3D Vision support (Deus Ex MD, Rise of the Tomb Raider, GTA V). The only major game not fixed yet is Dishonored 2, because the game crashes with 3Dmigoto present.
I don't even touch fake 3D, outside of the recent Zelda BOTW fix.

So you mean to tell us you have not tried GTAV in 1440p 3D???
Yet you think 3D would be dead because your haven't tried anything new since 2013???

I can't believe someone would make a statement like that. There are 15 new games on the helix blog every month and then we got updates DSS (Watch Dogs 2) and Helifax just updated 3 patches.
Direct X11 and openGL are supported also Wii U games are supported by our modders.

Total War: warhammer and Arkham knight is still not fixed. I think they are pretty major games XD. Sequel to TW:W is out next month so I will probably try to look at it, but the ground in particular is really weird in the current game and as they are integrated I'm sure it's the same engine.
But yeah I would say at this point Dx11 games are in a better place than the original wrapper. Still think 3dvision is in a better place than it ever has been. thanks to this community.

Can your hope that volunteers of this forum make it possible to make warhammer 1 total playable in real 3d vision?
Total war Attila had exactly the same fault (roads and rivers broken shadows) and now it's perfectly playable!
There must be something ... no? : O)

I forgot about Batman (although DHR is working on it), and strategy games simply didn't compute in my head, lol.
But as a general rule, most games are fixed.
I didn't mean to push anyones buttons, I'm not here to try and shit on 3D vision. When I got out of it, it seemed like the Crysis 3 style of 3D was going to take over, I'm glad to hear that is not the case.

after you'll try 3d vision in 65 inch 4k oled with 1080ti gpu you will throw every other piece of gaming equipment away and never go back. trust me..
I had every VR system you want.. its all garbage compared to 3d vision on good 3dtv..
you see.. people are just ignorant .. there's a lot of misconception about 3d vision's potential.. and with tv manufactures killing 3d for good this misconception will last till the last breath of this tech.
a very sad ending to such unbelievable awesomeness.

Its all preference, i like projectors much more than the tiny OLED's. Granted, i only had 55" but i doubt 65" would have changed anything. It feels too tiny after projector and its almost impossible to get crosstalk free image.
As to VR, I would bet majority of ppl would be more impressed with VR compared to 3d vision. That doesnt make them ignorant. You cant match immersion VR provides, even if it has poor image quality and other limitations right now. Its not garbage, and its only going to get better from now on.

I'd take that over PS4 1080p at 30FPS in 2D any day. In The Last Guardian for example there are lots of places where I can swear the FPS drops down to the 10-15FPS.
1080p at constant 24FPS is still a lot better;)

Yes, its lower resolution. 1080p Top and bottom is also possible these days with 3dmigoto(and tridef), which looks considerably better than 720p60. Not really sure why this is the case since pixel count shouldnt be that much higher. The lower resolution doesnt matter for me, projector -> TV(unless +100"). Its not even a contest really. There is something magical about +100" crosstalk free 3d image.
Like i said, its all preference.

it´s all preference.
Every system has it´s benefits. other though have more than others but also there could be dowsides that are too
much for some, and some won´t be bothered at all.
But one thing is that once you big you can´t go small.
TV is just laugh after bigscreen. allthough you can´t deny the sweet sharp image of a big TV.
