I'm comfortably playing WoW using 35% convergence (or so) and 100% depth. I do have to toggle 3D stereo for it work correctly each time I run the game or ALT-TAB out.
What depth am I missing? Any more convergence and objects would be clipped differently in each eye. You can only get decent forward depth in the middle of the screen. Check out Avatar, it pretty much observes that law for effects.

Well for me the load screens like to rip my eye balls out. and then every time i zone or use certan menu's i have to mess with the slider in options. im not running any addons what so ever. This is not how it is suppose to be ! plain and simple FIX IT !!!

On my PC the loading screens are at UI depth. Which menus are you refering to? Let me see if I can reproduce it. If with 'zone' you mean change region/instance with loading screen I can attest that doesn't corrupt anything for me.

On top of the fact that old drivers don't work with the new cards:
Yes, it's pro to reinstall your drivers constantly every time you wish to play a different game (IE Bad Company 2 does not work period with the 1.13 CD release, which was the last one that worked with WoW).

Hey everyone - its time for more action from us to get nVidia to respond and correct the problems. The simplest and easiest thing to start with is to report them to the Better Business Bureau. I just filed a complaint regarding the 3D vision hardware, their claimed excellent support for the game, and the fact that it does not currently work with the game. In other words, the product is defective and they are refusing repair or refunds even though they advertised functionality and then pulled a "bait and switch" - removing the functionality.
In any event, creating the report was fast and easy. Locate your receipt if you have it - so you can get the purchase date correct. You then just describe the problem and how nVidia has ignored you and not made any repairs at all. Submit it, and the organization will follow up with nVidia to resolve the problem. The more people that report the problem the higher it ranks and the more action we get.
Lets put our government to work to protect us from such poor business practices - and who knows - maybe they'll work out a refund for us all OR get a fix made in a short period of time. Either way, nVidia has to respond or the BBB will rate them negatively (which will effect their stock prices) and get their name in the news.

If you read World of Warcrafts support site OR nVidia's support site you will notice that they will refuse help unless your using the very latest video drivers. No where on the sites does it recommend using older drivers. In addition, as said before, the newer video cards won't even work with the older drivers. Newer games require the latest drivers to even function. If World of Warcraft was the only game we played and we all were using the original video cards and operating systems that were out when the product was first shipped - then it wouldn't matter - but that isn' true and so it matters greatly.

I feel your pain and fully agree. If you can get the refund - I think you should. I'm guessing one of a few things are going on:
1) nVidia plans to ditch the 3D Vision product (something they have done in the past) - and therefore won't update it ever again.
2) Fixing the problem would break something else that the consider more important.
3) nVidia needed Blizzard to make changes and we all know Blizzard isn't going to do any major updates until the next expansion.
4) nVidia developers simply don't know it is a problem or can't reproduce it so they ignore it.
5) nVidia has something way more important to them to work on and could care less about fixing drivers for 3D Vision (more like #1)
Given that it is been since November 2009, and 3D TVs are hitting the market like wild fire, I would put my money on #5 - they want the 3D TV business and to hell with gaming and focused on getting more and more support from the TVs, blueray players, and consoles than a PC. Not to mention that ATI is kicking the crap out of them in performance - so they have issues to deal with. However, I don't care about their issues - I only care about mine!

The fact that the old nvidia drivers work and the new ones don't, proves that it's not Blizzard who need to change anything, it's a nvidia driver bug, plain and simple.
If the old drivers were broken too, then I could see a reason for debate between who is at fault.

I believe u stand correct.
they say if it works we don't fix.
unless blizz made a revisit to this specific part of code that controls the 3d effect, then nvidia is the one who should figure out what went wrong at their later releases.
on the other hand if blizz made changes (to support further new hardware graphics cards\monitior etc) then its should be appropriate to inform nvidia about those changes so that they rework their drivers accordingly.
as for my i m a gtx480 user (former 8800 user) i used to work great with drivers 191.07 (for graphics card and 3d glasses)
now the new gtx480 is a completly difrent story.... there is no "old" drivers to roll back to.
i m stuck with a driver version that is considered "new" but unplayable for the most famous game so far.
I hope they fix it soon, they did fix recent games such as Alien vs predator to work, but this game is total of 10 hours of gameplay max, sooner or later we all return to our all time classics WoW.

It took a report to the BBB and multiple posts to support but I finally got a response that puts my mind at ease for at least a while:
Hello,
Thanks for contacting NVIDIA Customer Care.
We have filed a bug report and have been fighting to get the convergence problem fixed in this game for a long time. Engineering and Blizzard Development are still working on this problem. Blizzard hopes to have a fix in an upcoming patch for the game.

So it appears that we are waiting on Blizzard to make a fix as well (probably something nVidia asked them to do since they changed the drivers). I would suspect that we might have to wait till the expansion - but maybe we'll get lucky with a slipped in patch.
Also, anyone who doesn't believe or understand there is a problem I hope the statement above clears things up.
What this does mean is that 3D support for World of Warcraft is no longer "Excellent" but instead "Partial or Poor" - something that needs updated on their website (otherwise it is false advertising) and the BBB of California report might help get that corrected so new users are fooled into a product that doesn't work all that well at this moment in time.

by the way, i have copied and pasted your post to wow forum..i am hoping for a blue answer..
thanks
I have tried 3D vision with a beta 4.0 release (Cataclysm) and it works much differently than the current client does. So they're definitely messing with the code in that part of the graphics engine.

On my PC the loading screens are at UI depth. Which menus are you refering to? Let me see if I can reproduce it. If with 'zone' you mean change region/instance with loading screen I can attest that doesn't corrupt anything for me.
I do agree it seems pretty trivial to fix.

Yes, it's pro to reinstall your drivers constantly every time you wish to play a different game (IE Bad Company 2 does not work period with the 1.13 CD release, which was the last one that worked with WoW).

If World of Warcraft was the only game we played and we all were using the original video cards and operating systems that were out when the product was first shipped - then it wouldn't matter - but that isn' true and so it matters greatly.

unless blizz made a revisit to this specific part of code that controls the 3d effect, then nvidia is the one who should figure out what went wrong at their later releases.
on the other hand if blizz made changes (to support further new hardware graphics cards\monitior etc) then its should be appropriate to inform nvidia about those changes so that they rework their drivers accordingly.
as for my i m a gtx480 user (former 8800 user) i used to work great with drivers 191.07 (for graphics card and 3d glasses)
now the new gtx480 is a completly difrent story.... there is no "old" drivers to roll back to.
i m stuck with a driver version that is considered "new" but unplayable for the most famous game so far.
I hope they fix it soon, they did fix recent games such as Alien vs predator to work, but this game is total of 10 hours of gameplay max, sooner or later we all return to our all time classics WoW.
Ill just stay put and wait for now.
