Thanks guys, I'll try those things first. Can I still use the Advanced tweaks and just turn the planar reflections to normal? The whole not being able to use AA is real annoying as well. I down-sampled but in SLI that starts getting tricky as they haven't enabled it in the driver yet. =/

I haven't tried DSR, but I am using old-school downsampling from 1080p->720p and it works great here.

That improved things a bit (using official profile and set planar reflections to normal) and allowed me to use HBAO+ without the problems I was seeing. Something still must be wrong however, it seems the lighting is off. The fix is definitely kicking in to some degree because its much worse without it.... hmmm. Definitely major ghosting as well I haven't seen it this bad before.

There is something wrong with the light rays or the fog there. I don't recognize that location, is it in the main campaign? We haven't played all the way through, so it's possible you are seeing a shader that we haven't fixed yet. I expect if you disable volumetric lights it should fix that in the meantime. I'd recommend completely removing the 'advanced tweaks', and going back to vanilla to start. That's how we created the fix, and there are always possible conflicts. I don't think they tweak volumetric lights, but I'm not sure what all patches you've applied. But that's just me. I care 10x more about 3D than I do about all the SweetFX, tweaks, color/contrast stuff. So I want 3D to work, then maybe apply other stuff.

I have only just applied the advanced tweak xml that was linked on the helix page nothing else. Ill revert to standard and see from there. (moved everything back to standard and playing just on one screen now) Its actually very close to the beginning of the campaign when you fall down the shaft maybe about 15 minutes into it. *edit* Its definitely the volumetric lights, the problem exists with and without the tweaks. If I turn VL off it goes away. Wierd, Am I missing something here? are they supposed to be turned off to play this? I dont recall seeing a mention about it, If not surely someone else has come across this before?
Not presently, sorry. I've been working on the way to get aiming override for all games, but for some gad*da*m reason in this game when I activate that, it freezes the mouse so you cannot turn. Escaping alien when you can't turn is hard. If you are using controller, this does seem to work, and you could use the binaries from 0.99.6, and set your preferred depth/convergence in the .ini For the blood splash (both human and android), I also see this on occasion. I think these are new shaders later in the game we didn't see before, so I'm adding them. Edit: Bug in one of the shaders for blood splashes. Until we release the next version, rename and drop this file into your ShaderFixes to fix it.
I'll try the file when i get to the game nearest time, thank you! I semi-solved the crosshair problem by using Nvidia 3D crosshair i switch to when i need some shooting =). OK, not sure what's happening there. In general I think it should be working well with volumetric lights. I remember the luggage track, but don't remember it having a light effect like that. This might be an SLI/non-SLI issue. I've been playing with SLI enabled, Colonial Marines profile, driver 344.65 Similar lighting effects: One more just for amusement value: What is your system spec?

Did i miss something? About volumetric lights - i checked fix notes again but i didn't find any mention. It seems i.. well i dunno, but i can swear i saw it :D. Anyway i haven't any broken light near my current save, i will upload save once i get one with that light near. The first time you may see this light after you fall under floor not far from the entrance to the station after space journey. You get your first flare there. You never get this effect far from light source - to have different render per eye you need get close to light source and make "godray" effect to appear. I use 344.75 driver and 780 SLI with default profile

There are similar effects in this area with smaller windows and they work fine. I have tried with Both SLI and single card and it still happens. I also notice in 3d Surround HDBO+ appears to be broken and maligns the shadows, switching it to standard fixes this. Its fine on a single screen. Unsure if this is a SLI issue as well. I'll play around with it. Ghosting and cross talk is awful in this game. I realize this is a hardware thing, but does anyone have any tips to mitigate this? I have tested all this stuff without the mods and downsampling and it still occurs. I've started from a fresh install as well. As noted before the ghosting in this game is massive because of the very black and very white lights. On a projector I avoid this, but on the monitor it's very distracting, but not much can be done about it.

Ghosting is not apparent in that shot true. its really bad in some spots though. I find the best way to get around it is mess with the gamma and brightness and lightboost. So I will deal. Nice work bob3b, Ill check it out when I get home. That's definitely the right spot.
