FOR NVIDIA SUPPORT: 3D VISION FLICKERING ISSUE Please help us fix this problem.
  12 / 16
First I am new here(sorry for my bad English).I have read all the posts about 3D Vision flickering issue and my problem is similar.
I have a single GTX 280 graphic card, Windows Vista 32 bit operating system, Syncmaster 2233RZ monitor, newest Driver. If I play games like GTR2, Flat out2 or Far Cry 1.32, no flickering at all,all perfect but if I try to play COD 2,Far Cry2 or other newer games like Napolien War I have this flickering(depends of mission of the game more or less).I have try all possibilities her described like turned off Riva Tuner, different frequency 100 110 120 and so on,nothing helped.I think it is a Driver problem, because there are games that works fine and other has this flickering.
Also I can't play 3D Videos because I get an ERROR Message when the program starts(I tried with the possibilitie mode), but to look picture no problem at all.

Hello there!

I'm in a club now with Acer h5360 and gtx 260. I tried every solutions as written before, nothing helped. I'm sure this is a driver problem. Today I get some new info about it.
I tried to overlock with nvidia's official overlocker, included the nvidia control panel. If I overlock the card, nothing happened, it is flickering, as before. But... If I underlocked the card,
the flickering goes away..... (I tested with medusa demo). The only problem is that in that way you turned into a slower card with poor fps. So, the developers of Nvidia has to repair the drivers for that,
otherwise many people will send back the glasses and wanted for refund, as I will. By the way... Has anybody tried with other shutter glasses? (cheaper noname glasses)?

regards

Hello,

I also have tried a lot of things (described in a previous post)
1. Use USB Ports which is directly connected to Motherboard
2. Disabled all monitoring tools (e.g. Nvidia NTune)
3. ... and all the others things mentioned in this thread

But nothing neraly not solved my problem, the solution for my problem actually was:
1. Clean uninstall of old drivers
2. In the 3D setup wizard I choosed the first setting (Use Nvidia Emiiter without other IR devices), although I run a lot of other IR devices. (IR keyboard + mouse, wireless 360 controllers, several remote controls, ...)
And this really solved my problem, although I was sure that I have tested all settings in the wizrad before.

I still have the problem with 3D videos in the stereoscopic player that colors shift occasionally (green, red) but the flickering during games has nearly disappeared.

Hope that helps.

Hello,

Today I played several missions of Panzers Phase I an II, no flickering at all, then I played a mission where weather was with snow fall and I have massiv flickering. After that, I change snow fall to dry with the editor of the game and all flickering were gone, I try this several times with and without snow fall always with the same results. So the flickering problem is a driver problem and not USB or IR Emitter or things like that!
I hope that the Nvidia team try to solve the problem because the 2 last drivers for the glasses has not make changes to this problem.

Agree with that. My experience is the same. There is a problem with the driver. The flickering comes when the load of the graphic card higher. I think when the card's processor working harder, the stereo driver lost sync of the expected refresh rate, resulting flicker.
If I use an anaglyph glasses, it works well, but there is no syncing, it is static, that's why works, I think.

At me the only solution is that if I underlock my gtx260's mhz to 200! (the factory setup is 576!), that resulting a much slower fps, like a 50 usd card!!! As I increase the freq, the flickering comes back, as more
frames out of sync.

Dear developers of Nvidia, PLS fix that bug ASAP.

Regards,
George

I might be stating the obvious here gyurmak, but make sure you are not running any overclock programs or monitoring programs, rivatuner, everest, evga precision, etc...... They can cause flickering..

Didn't understand me.... I used overlock program to UNDERLOCK my card, because without it always flickering, as the others wrote also.
The factory mhz of my card is 576 Mhz, but I needed to underlock it to 184 !!! MHZ, at this poor speed the flickering gone, but my fps like
my grandmother's run...
With the factory 576 Mhz I can play with no flicker only when the processor isn't work so much, but with the new games, like MW2, FSX, etc. it is
always flickering with the factory 576 Mhz. (without any overlock prg, or monitoring)

So it's clean now that is a driver problem that has to be fixed by Nvidia's team, 'coz we are all bought these more expensive cards to get good fps in
modern games. But now with 184 Mhz I only can play with galaxian, not the new ones....

i can play during the daytime even with some sunlight coming in my room with no flicker ever since ive picked the option on the setup that says only one IR device in the room , it like blocks all other IR transmissions and it makes it flicker free.

/confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Hello,

I have tested with Riva Tuner, Monotoring program, disabled it, deleting it, that make no difference in flickering, and like written before there are games that
works fine no flickering at all about playing hours, and other ones are unplayable because flickering with the same PC configuration.Call of Duty Warfare 2
is unplayable. In one Mission I walk to the wood its snowing, no flickering, then a script was launch by the program and the flickering begins,I can reproduze this flickering all the time, it is always at the same places in this games.
Also, it has nothing to do with the framerate, I tested it in several games if I have 15 fps or 60 it make no difference by flickering, it is a driver problem!

Hello,

one more thing I wanted to mention, which solved my problem, was that previously I always installed the normal GeForce driver and the matching 3D Vision driver separately (from the NVidia Download site) and installed the GeForce driver first and the 3D vision driver afterwards.
When I did the same with the Full-Driver-CD although the versions numbers seem to be the same, suddenly the flickering was gone (at least for games).
As mentioned before I also changed the setting at the 3D Vision Setup from "Use several IR devices" to "No other IR devices are used" (don't remember the exact names).

I was also very astonished that this was everything, as I tried many many things before and already thought it will never work properly.
I always thought that it had sth. to do with GPU load or USB power but in the end it really just seemed to be a driver problem, although the versions form the Full-Driver-CD and the standalone driver versions seem to have the exact same version.

BTW I'm still using the 1.20 Full driver CD version and have not yet tried to update.

Some more debuging information that might help nvidia to solve this before selling my card.

When i pause the video in nvidia 3d vision video player it never gets out of sync (no flickering).... and i keep seing 3d so the glasses continue to be sync....

When the video is playing after a few seconds flickering starts.... if i pause the video, disable and enable 3d i see the paused picture in 3d... if I push space again to play flickering starts...

So it has to do with the driver.... not the usb.... The usb TX works fine when the card is not rendering new scenes...
So it is
-not the usb
-not the lighting
-not other IR transmitters in my room
-it only happens when new 3d is rendered = driver problem...

Did you try different environmental setup options in the 3d vision setup wizard? The middle one generally works best for me.

Had the blinking for 10 to 20 second intervals at first. Did the second option of multiple IR devices in setup and unpluged second monitor in same color card. No more blinking at all. Does't matter what USB port is used; where my brightness is on the monitor, in the game or Nvidia card setup. I don't know if removing the second monitor has anything to do with the blinking. Need to check that out. Also used Nvidia 197.41 drivers.
