Can confirm it works 98% perfect with 3DVision and 99,9% perfect with TriDef Ignition using a custom profile.
With 3DVision mainly some water refections and the desert heat haze are wrong. But stages, lighting, shadows, effects, even the ccontent of the big displays on some stages and of course the fighters are all rendered perfectly in 3D. Story mode cutscenes are partialy prerendered and playing in mono, but mostly realtime and therefore also in 3D.
And it runs with stable 60 FPS during fights in 3D at 1080p, 4sxSSAA and shadows maxed out (4096x4096) on a single GTX980.

I have always found the combat system in this game a little nonsensical. (especially the counter system) So I was on the fence. But with this news and the fact it works with 3d vision, and my desire to support developers bringing their fighters to the PC, instant buy!.
Lets hope Tekken 7 and Mortal Kombat X both work well too. (those games look amazing)
*edit*
Seems I have had to retract my statement somewhat, apparently its missing core features from the consoles such as online play of all things, that it to be patched in later. Lots of issues being reported as well.
I will wait until at least they make good on their promises of online.

can you share the tridef profile please?
1) In TriDef Launchpad add the game (via its link) and select the generic profile.
2) Start game via TriDef Launchpad and open OSD menu (Num 0).
3) Navigate to Performance menu and disable Power 3D
4) Navigate to Performance->Focus menu and select Modus Fixed 1. Set near projection to 60 and far projection to 100
5)Navigate to Profile->3d Object Detection and check Matrix Names only.
Open submenu and check the following matrixes:
- gShadingWorldViewProj
- gEffectWorldViewProj
- gWorldViewProj
6) Navigate to 3d menu and select Scene depth and Percent in front to your liking for separation and convergence.
6) Leave OSD, that's it. Enjoy perfect 3D!

I played around with it yesterday and it works pretty well but 99.8% is way too high. Water effects are definitely wonky if a character stands in front of the water. Story mode jumps into MASSIVE pop-out mode so you have to watch the story (such as it is) with one eye shut. It's still quite good, though.
There aren't a lot of issues with the game other than people whining because PS4/X1 have some features that PC doesn't. The most worrisome one I've seen is people having trouble with their controllers only being partially recognized. And, of course, no online mode yet.

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. Instead of altering their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views ... which can be very uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.

This is a matter of correct setting for the convergence (Ctrl+F5/Ctrl+F6)
Beside the water problem I noticed a problem with the heat haze in the desert level and characters not showing up in 3D in the menu in modes with 4 persons.
I have corrected my rating to 98% in my previous post.
I'm currently playing with TriDef Ignition because it works perfectly.

Yeah, you can tone down the convergence but doesn't setting it to the point where the story scenes work make it too low for the regular game?
P.S. I need to remember to use control-F8 to actually save fixed convergence, too. I got a lot of mighty poppy screenshots last night!

I have made a hotfix for personal use with Helixmod. But perhaps it is interesting for You, too.
- As I didn't know how to fix the issues with water refraction I simply made the water nontransparent and changed color, reflection and bloom so that it fits to the rest of the environment. So far I could only discover 4 areas with the water issue and only in the Sanctuary it is quite prominent. Usually You can choose the place where You want to fight (besides from the story mode). So I don't think that I will spend more time on fixing this issue. I hope that an expert will have a look at it some time. As Sancturay, Zack Island and Forest use the same shader for water You manually have to toggle with hotkey "b" between 3 different water colors until they fit to the area. In my album You can see which combination is the correct one: http://photos.3dvisionlive.com/3d4dd/album/551d7c0ce7e5643336000181/
- I have also removed a fog that caused issues. I couldn't observe heat haze in the desert. Maybe it was removed by this way, too.
- I pushed the HUD to depth and made 2 presets for convergence (cut scenes/fight). You can toggle between them with hotkey "v". You can customize the settings by pressing the hotkey, adjust convergence/depth and save it with Ctrl+F7.
Download: https://s3.amazonaws.com/3d4dd/DoA5_hotfix.zip
Installation: extract the content into the installation folder of the game where You can find game.exe
BTW: I have tried some profiles that usually can fix refraction issues (Aion, Sims 3, etc.) and also iZ3D but they all turned most elements of the game into 2D. To be able to see the debug UI of Helixmod I had to start the game with TexMod.
Update(3/4/2015): I have missed the issues with the underwater background in depth. It is now disabled (not really fixed). Download the hotfix again.
Regarding the game itself: I would like to understand and master the game and not playing it by button mashing. But I don't have the time for the intense training needed and/or I'm just too old for it ;) So I don't think that I will play the game very often and spend time on really fixing the issues...

My original display name is 3d4dd - for some reason Nvidia changed it..?!
P.S. Too old!? Oh come on, I'm pushing 50. Practice still makes perfect. (Or at least not-so-terrible.)

Just to be clear, are we talking about Dead or Alive 5? (I haven't heard of the franchise before so don't know anything about the games).

Yes, DOA 5 Last Round. Maybe the OP should update the thread title.
I'm having a blast playing this game with my sons in 3D (though using TriDef currently)! It runs butter smooth with 60FPS at full HD with AA/Shadows maxed out on a GTX 980.
This is another example how much better a game can look if played in 3D, even if the graphics (mainly the stages) are a bit out of date. And of course the girls in 3D are a feast for the eyes.

Dead or Alive 5 is a free to play game, it's kinda like Mortal Combat. EDIT: (Oops not FTP)
