Look throughout this thread. DHR posted a "patch" to my existing fix at some point in this thread, which helped him and a few others that experienced a higher than expected FPS hit from installing my fix (which I never experienced myself, so I could never test/verify).
Is that the one? I installed it over top 1.2 version of your fix and it helped the framerate, but the crosshair is now 2D.

Yeah, that's it. Unfortunately it does disable some of the tweaks I made for the HUD in order to save on performance.

Disable threading on i7 4790K will give you an extra 14fps with maxed out graphics in the first 3D scene. (In front of the unisersity entrance.)
With my GTX 1080 SLI
i5 4670K = 28fps

Could be usefull to go in your BIOS settings here...
BTW my i7 is only @ 4.3Ghz. I've just receive it. My BIOS kept my i5 old settings.

Interesting. Good find. Hope you enjoy playing this game.
You may have read a few people mention an issue with crashing. If you happen to start to experience that, would you mind attempting the steps outlined in Helifax's Win10 optimization guide found here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/989334/3d-vision/how-to-make-your-windows-10-box-quot-optimised-quot-for-gaming/
I'm curious to know if it will work, but am pretty well done with this game so can't be bothered to test it myself, but if you or anyone who reads this and plays this game (that also experiences the issue) could try it and report back we'd all be greatly appreciative!

Edit: nevermind - I see you aren't using stereo2mono
[s]Hey DJ-RK, I've got a user asking me about the framerate issues in this game. He's using SLI 1440p, so my guess is that this will be down to the performance hit that stereo2mono incurs at high resolutions on SLI. Sounds like he is using DHR's patch and the nvidia laser sight for now, so nothing urgent, but if you are interested this is how I solved a similar problem on Far Cry Primal - the idea is to downscale the depth buffer before using stereo2mono so there is less data pushed over the SLI bus, and to make sure that stero2mono is used as few times as possible:
https://github.com/DarkStarSword/3d-fixes/commit/7e804faba0e804956e72b419834d6f14e987359c
The discussion in the related bug report may be of interest:

I'm happy to look at the performance issues in this game at some point since I have an SLI system and should be able to reproduce it, but I'm not going to have time to do that for a while.[/s]

It would be very welcome for you to take a look at this if you ever did manage to have the time for it. In addition to the performance issues (which is fairly hit and miss, I certainly didn't experience any) if you could manage to fix the couple of remaining issues (tile light clipping and screen space reflections), it would take a very nice looking game to top tier status. Heck, it would probably prompt me into a 2nd playthrough. Also, I somehow imagine this game would be up your alley, so I think you'd quite enjoy it. It would certainly be a good learning experience for me to see how you manage to fix those areas which troubled me... but, it's already in pretty good shape, so if you don't ever get around to it then it's not a big deal.

Has anyone else tried this recently? I'm on windows 10 (dual boot) and haven't tried windows 7 yet but I'm having a strange problem.
In compatibility mode, the game works fine, but I'm trying to get it working with the fix.
I'm currently trying it with 3d tv play and the latest fix from helix mod.
In checkerboard mode with the custom SBS shader set to over and under in the ini file, the initial launch and the menus are fine, but when in the playable sections of the game it seems to revert to a mode where it looks like standard 3d vision viewed without the glasses, i.e. I see double images for everything.
I know I need to do more troubleshooting but wondered if anyone else was having problems?

I once had that issue you mentioned, and I had to reboot the computer. Windows downloaded some updates and messed it up. After rebooting it worked.
In case it helps anyone else, I'm not sure exactly what step fixed this (although there is clue) as I'm a bit impatient, but here's what happened. I appreciate this is a bit convoluted!
I tried a full clean install of drivers, just in case I'd cause the problem by messing around with SLI profiles etc.
After much black screens and rebooting, I got my various 3d options back.
The issue then became that in the menu screens it was clearly working in top and bottom as per the SBSShader settings, but as soon as I went into the playable sections it was actually going straight to checkerboard mode, but also the shader fixes weren't being applied so things were broken. At this point the fix was activated to an extent, as the shortcut keys still worked, apart from the F11 for the mode overrides.
I'd already updated the 3dmigoto to a newer version at this point (and before) as I assumed there were performance improvements I could take advantage of.
Basically I updated 3dfix manager to latest version as I do use this very useful tool. I uninstalled the fix (not for the first time) and reinstalled, but this time I didn't update the 3dmigoto version, I stuck to the one included.
This fixed it. Everything runs in top and bottom mode and the shaders are all fixed as per the readme.
ps - apologies for my poor english, I've been drinking beer :-)

I'm trying to get this working with the 3dmigoto upscaling feature, has anyone else done this already?
The game launches and everything seems ok, you can really notice the difference in resolution, but so far I just seem to get a shimmering mess when I put my glasses on with line interleaved.
I'll play around a bit more as the static parts don't seem to suffer too much and it looks absolutely amazing, but thought I'd ask before I waste too much time.

The game launches and everything seems ok, you can really notice the difference in resolution, but so far I just seem to get a shimmering mess when I put my glasses on with line interleaved.
I'll play around a bit more as the static parts don't seem to suffer too much and it looks absolutely amazing, but thought I'd ask before I waste too much time.
