3D Vision causes Glitches When Disabled
so, i was wondering if anyone had a solution to my problem. my nvidia drivers have been causing a weird problem. when i disable 3d vision, FireFox 8.1 stops working. when i mean it stops working i mean the window it runs in turns completely black and the menu's do not Render. currently I'm running Windows 8 developer preview using the 290.36 drivers on a gtx 580(the 285.62 drivers make my HDMI input not recognize my new tv, and older drivers won't work when the 5 day early access of swtor comes out this Tuesday.) i do plan to use my 3d vision drivers a lot when swtor comes out, but right now i don't want them enabled, so when i disable them my firefox starts glitching. i am a loyal firefox user so i don't want to be stuck with another browser.

this issue only happens when 3d vision is disabled in the control panel, if i leave it on, then my tv will always show everything in 3D even my desktop. i want to be able to disable 3D vision and still use firefox. i have already tried disabling the nvidia firefox plugin, and it didn't help. if anyone has a solution to my issue please let me know. thanks in advance.

Errr, developer previews are made so that developers can get a handle on how the OS is supposed to work. You aren't supposed to try and actually USE those things! It still has months of work to go before Windows 8 is ready. Expect to see tons and tons of bugs in all sorts of programs when using that OS.

it just started happening today, but its not just that problem, i'm noticing a lot issues in my windows 7 partition as well. everything was working perfectly fine this week, and then today everything just started happening in the middle of one my regular 2 hour programming sessions. i set 2 hours a day to program, but today i got interrupted. the nivida drivers just started causing problems in both windows 7 and windows 8.

i play my games in windows 7 while i develop in windows 8. the issue in my previous post was the start. other issues involve black screen crashing when loading a game in windows 7 my new tv showing glitching over hdmi in windows 8. black screen flashes in windows 7 every hour or so. 3dtv play doesn't recognize my tv over dvi and it doesn't show up as a second monitor. sometimes windows boots up and my taskbar is stretched so far that it is barely visible on my screen, but switching from dual view to extended view fixes it. I've scanned for viruses nothing popped up, i tested my memory it passed. i only use my system for store bought games and youtube/netflix in windows 7. and developing in windows 8.

but like i said this setup was working fine for the past week. nothing changed. no downloads, not much website browsing other than my usual sites with noscript and adblock plus firefox addons enabled. my video card still has a IPR Warranty. do you think that i should take it in? or will replacing my card not fix my issues? i know there are bugs in windows 8, but windows 7 is giving me problems too. i noticed small issues here or there in the past, i've tried formatting my hard drive and reinstalling windows but they still come back.

Try hitting restore defaults at the top of the page, several times after unchecking the "enable 3D " box. I had a problem where 3D wasn't deactivated, even though it was unchecked, it was rectified when I hit the restore defaults a few times.
