Is there a way to play W3 with the fix on - gtx980ti- single card - windows 7 ? Is there any driver for this card that works? It's not my setup, but a friend has quite nice CPU in there, and besides wanting to help him, I'm really curious if it's possible to maintain 60fps with v-sync in 3D :) edit: Thanx, helifax :)

Okay, I'm pretty confused now. 3D seems to me to be working just fine in Windows 10 Pro with Driver 353.62. Now, note, I *did* initially have issues where, when I upgraded from Win 8.1 Pro, the 3D drivers were partially automatically uninstalled. I resolved that before I ever came to this forum, just uninstalled everything driver related then reinstalled 353.62. Might've taken more than one try, don't recall. Never detected any problem after that. Don't get "white in one eye", no flickering. And it sure *looks* like 3D to me, but again, I don't know if I'm getting some sort of "fake" 3D as I keep hearing references to, not being sure if I've ever seen the real thing. Based on these posts, I did do the "3D Compatibility Tweak" that is stickied in this forum. Is this the "helifax profile" that everyone talks about? I'm assuming so at the moment. I do note that Witcher 3 does set a value to the setting in the original profile that that tweak changes. Trying the helifax setting, it does seem to be a little better, yes, though not so much that I can't possibly be imagining it. For the purposes of testing, I will continue to implement the fixes that everyone says is "working" and see if it is materially better than the configuration that I thought was working fine for me prior to seeing these posts. I will try to roll back to 347.88 and if I can ever find out what "flugan's version" is, I'll try that too. If either of those is meant to fix a problem I'm *not* having, like flickering or "white in one eye", please tell me so I don't botch what seems to be a working install.

If the green popup (CTRL+ALT+INSERT) shows you "Compatibility Mode: Enabled", press CTRL+ALT+F11 (to enable proper 3D Vision Automatic Mode). Indeed. I do in fact see the problem, and I also do see the potential for it to be significantly better 3D than what I've been getting, so thanks. I'm going to try rolling back to 347.88 now (since I won't be getting SLI anyway, no reason not to that I can think of). Now, since we're no longer talking about compatibility mode, then I'm guessing the "Compatibility Mode Tweak" that is sticked in this forum is NOT what is being talked about when people mention 347.88 needs the "helifax fix". So. I will continue to hunt for all the things that make up this working setup for Windows 10, and once I've found them I will post them here since they're not currently easy to find, but if anyone already has links and can post them all in one post (no such post exists since the working configuration was found), it'd be appreciated.

My fix is actually the custom profile that you will need to import;) It has quite a few parameters tweaked. Without that profile the game will be unplayable on 347.88 or 350.12 drivers in 3D Vision. Follow the steps from the website;) If you have problems importing the profile follow the guide here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/791450/3d-vision/guide-how-to-enable-and-tweak-3d-compatibility-mode-in-any-dx11-game/ (BE SURE TO DELETE the specified files FROM the correct folders. Folder is hidden by default in Windows OS) It should work afterwards;) Happy tweaking ^_^

Excellent, thank you for the links, I had not found those anywhere else even after reading dozens of pages from the various threads. My current problem: I can't install 347.88. It does compatibility check and then says there are no compatible devices. This is with the version linked to in posts 1358/1359 of this thread (seems to be the same link). I did see references to a "modded" version of 347.88... would that be helpful? Or should I try a newer driver version? Note I am running 2x980Ti. Thanks again for any help. EDIT: Ugh. Even the 350.12 driver doesn't list support for the 980Ti. And yup, can't roll back to it either, same "no compatible device" error. Trying 353.06, at least it lists the 980Ti.

Ok, yeah, after multiple attempts, I can't install 353.06 and still have an NVidia Control Panel. I was only able to get it back by going back to 353.62. The last option from helifax's link is 352.86, which also doesn't list support for 980Ti. So looks like I'm out of options... except... zig, in your link, I don't get any options for Windows 10 64 bit earlier than 353.17. Oddly, there is a 353.71 and 353.75. Are these beta versions or something?

So looks like I'm out of options... except... zig, in your link, I don't get any options for Windows 10 64 bit earlier than 353.17. Oddly, there is a 353.71 and 353.75. Are these beta versions or something? [/quote] You can install the windows 8 version of the driver.

Tried that. When I try to download the inf file... Error: The requested address '/infs/345series/34788_win8x64/nv_dispi.inf' was not found on this server I also tried to install the 353.75 from the Windows 10 64 bit list. When I downloaded that .inf, instead of downloading as a file, it came up as a browser page. In IE, all the line breaks were removed. I tried cutting and pasting that into the Display.Driver/nvgb.inf file via notepad (deleting previous content, of course) and the installer wouldn't even run. I pulled up the same page in Pale Moon, which did not strip line breaks. Saved that into Display.Driver/ngvb.inf, again via notepad, and the installer ran, removed previous drivers, but then failed to actually install the 353.75 driver. EDIT: Using Right Click, "Save Target As...", I was able to save the 353.75 nvgb.inf file without needing notepad. Still failed to actually install though, in exactly the same way as it did via the Pale Moon/notepad cut and paste method.

Tried the 350.12 driver with inf (in this case nv_dispi.inf instead of nvgb.inf). Came up as non-compatible. I'm going to try one more thing. When I tried 353.06, I didn't use CCleaner to erase all previous installation files first. Will try that now. If that doesn't work, then I give up... my computer can apparently ONLY work with the 353.62 driver.

Sigh... so I figure I'll go back to playing Deus Ex: Director's Cut until this problem gets fixed, as Witcher 3 is such a huge game I doubt I'll ever have time to play it twice (at least not for a few years), and I want real 3D working for that run. Except now I realize 3D isn't working in DX:DC either. There is no profile for the Director's Cut, only for the original game. And I see that flugan made some sort of fix for it at some point, but the link doesn't work anymore, and as it hacks the registry it may well not work in Windows 10. So... does anyone know how to get 3D working in DX:HR now under Windows 10? Is there a registry setting I can do? There's a bunch of threads about it but none have even had an update in 4 months. If there is no quick answer here, I guess I'll start a new thread about it. EDIT: And Fallout New Vegas isn't working in 3D either! Looks like it *wants* to work but one of the lenses is much darker than the other. Sigh. I just want to play ONE game with real 3D so I can actually taste what it's supposed to be like, and I can't :( Will try Witcher 2 next I guess... EDIT: Witcher 2 is looking pretty damn nice as far as 3D is concerned, way better than I was getting in DX:HRDC or in Witcher 3 in compat mode. So I guess I now know what true 3D is supposed to look like, and yeah, I gotta say, I don't want to continue with Witcher 3 until I can play it this way :) Nice stuff. EDIT: Looked through old threads for optimal settings for Witcher 2, and yeah, I'm now in "holy frikkin' crap" mode as to how awesome the 3D is in that game. I'm guessing I could get it working in Dragon Age Origins too, but Witcher 3, DX:HRDC and Fallout NV are all problematic. Here's hoping the next driver works better than this one for all of those. I will note, very oddly, that even though I'm not supposed to have SLI with 3D on my ROG Swift, when I turned SLI on, my frame rate in Witcher 2 did improve.

@Qwinn: So, the actual problem here is that you are running Win10. As a new-to-3D guy you wouldn't necessarily know that Win10 is a presently a disaster for 3D, especially with newer cards like your 980ti. 3D Vision is in a bit of a fragile state- it's not well supported by NVidia, so being an early adopter guarantees that you get to spend a lot of time dicking with settings and installs. Stuff has been getting fixed, but at a glacial pace. ALL of your problems can be solved if you roll back to 8.1. It depends upon what you find the most interesting, spending your time on Win10 workarounds (I understand it, it's like puzzles) or playing with 3D fixes that are 100% solid on Win 8.1. Everyone is different, but unless there is something compelling in Win10 that you just gotta have, using your prior 8.1 install is going to give you a stunning 3D experience that is easily worth the 'downgrade'. IMO of course. To answer a prior question, the Flugan wrapper is an alternate wrapper to 3Dmigoto. 3Dmigoto is used to fix DX11 games. HelixMod is used to fix DX9 games. Everything is posted on HelixModBlog, and all fixes get sort of jumbled into being called 'HelixMod' fixes regardless of tool. On 8.1, Flugan's wrapper can work better than 3Dmigoto in some games. For the most reliable and trouble free 3D experience, Win7 is still superior. I care vastly more about running 3D smoothly than the OS, so I have no plans to ever 'upgrade' my primary game machine to Win10. YMMV.
