Just received this monitor today, thanks to Black Friday.
Does it shows as Plug and Play in Windows? I see the nvidia control panel detect it as ROG PG278QR but I try to understand why I don't see the 144Hz option. I use Display Port and a GTX 660 Ti on Windows 7 with latest nvidia driver. From what I can see I could go create it but it is supposed to be listed.
I know G-Sync and 3D don't work together but isn't possible to have auto-switching of those 2 settings? I mean when 3D is on G-Sync is off and vice-versa without having to always go into nvidia panel to change it?
One problem I have and don't understand and is hard to explain is when I come back to desktop after playing in 3D, the mouse pointer if off by a few pixels vertically. When I go over an icon on the desktop I can go over it without a few pixels at the top without hilighting it and at the bottom I can go a few pixel below the icon and it is still highlighted. Understand? Then it comes back to normal later but haven't figured out how. This is annoying.
More observations later maybe! This monitor will be paired to a new rig in a few weeks.

Your problems are because of the GTX 660Ti. You need at least a 900 series GPU to see and use more than 120Hz. It happened to me too with my GTX 760. About the mouse cursor, it sometimes happened to me when I had W7. I don't remember if it stopped happening when I bought the 1080 or when I started using Windows 10. Try changing resolutions or refresh rate, reconnecting the monitor, etc, to solve it "quickly".
As for the auto switching between 3D and G-Sync, it isn't possible. At least ingame. Maybe someone can do a bat script to alternate those settings, or maybe not. Those aren't options that can switch fast.

Thanks masterotaku. I tried looking what refresh rate my 660 Ti could handle and I couldn't find, even on the package I still have and on the nvidia website but that was my assumption too. Before going to bed I even tried to install with DDU and do a clean install.
I forgot to say that this setup is temporary, I will build a new rig with forced Win10 in a few weeks but got this monitor early so I wanted to start using it now.
I wonder if with Paul 3D Fix Manager it would be possible to launch any game already configured to launch in either 3D or GSync?
And about the cursor I'm curious if I could find anything about this, there must be someone else who reported this. I just don't know how to Google this exactly, what word to use to find discussions about that weird issue. Anyway I know it will be fine when I more to Win10 and a higher end video card.

Is it rly the case that anything below 900 series can't do that resolution?
I'd have bet it's rather a question of input-choice. I mean the card can do 240Hz max (excample - on these specs they are equal) https://www.evga.com/Products/Specs/GPU.aspx?pn=5c293ec3-c729-4a91-a80d-2add1f459407 (but that'd be on low resolution) and according to https://www.evga.com/support/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=59486 144 HZ is possible on 1080p for DVI-D "Dual Link", as well as 1440p using DP 1.2(+) - no mater the series. (well, official - you might be lucky with custom resolutions aka OC) Keep in mind, that a DVI-DP adapter prob. not allows such a high frequency. /EDIT: Nv, I do see every 660ti also has DP 1.2 and you prob. used the included cable? Strange then. It should be supported. You might name your exact! model (incl. the long alphanumeric nr), try to find out if it should be supported and use that to get a cheap upgrade option or a reasonable refund. Just for info: have you tried to set a custom resolution - does that at least work? EDIT/
As for the question of 3D or Gsync - sure you can!

3D Vision uses either 100, (110) or 120 HZ - you can't even use 144Hz on 3D.

You may also check the monitors manual 3-3, compare about with also ULMB supported frequency it's making use of. And 3-9 for 165Hz OC ;)

G-Sync

A GTX 660ti should work, if it has/you're connected with DP.
(generally don't mind the missing win 10 info or gpus higher than 600 series generally, these sheets just haven't been updated)
And yes, 3D Fix Manager is able to set 3D, if a fix is available for that game. (Not sure about Gsync - don't see a setting but it might be something to add for future releases)
Can't help on the cursor-problem. Never read about or experienced that.

Hey Teikol,
That is the same card I have, just not the SC one and like you I noticed it is supposed to do 144Hz but why I don't see it is a mystery. I wasn't using the DP cable that came in the box, I thought all DP cables were the same. I switched like recommended but no difference, still no 144Hz option.
About Gsync, what I would like is have Gsync on all the time but when you start a game in 3D it turns off Gsync to enable 3D then when going back to desktop Gsync return. Maybe that's something that could be achieved with 3D Fix Manager because you tell it which game you want to launch in 3D or not.
Cursor problem is a mystery and it is hard to Google. My native language is french so I'm not sure what are the best words to use to do a search about that issue.

There are still 2 versions: https://www.evga.com/articles/00694/#3660 resp https://www.evga.com/support/specs/default.asp?fam=GeForce%20600%20Series, but guess those won't make a difference here, just important for support. Yeah, my mistake on the cable, as i somehow thought GTX 660 would be without DP by default. And i didn't know you already had a dp cable, but good thing to always try another cable in case of a broken cable. So you might just contact EVGA if you want and say you bought the card with the future case of a 144Hz monitor, which doesn't work (but should - 2nd link in prev. post), asking first for help and if rly needs a 900 Series+ they can't so you can ask for a cheap upgrade option or refund. EVGA is prob on top of the goodwill companies, so it's worth a try, because selling a 660 private ... well, except you don't mind money.
Yeah, lacking such a monitor I can't try if does that already in the shadows (as i wrote no option). If not one might ask Paul to include that for next release. I mean you can set it per game using nvidia settings, but 3D Fix still would be faster/easier. https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/51r177/is_there_any_way_to_quickly_toggle_gsync_on_off/
Another (at least temporary) way would be if the is some kind of shortcut. There used to be shortcuts for 3d Vision, but wouldn't be included (on Win10 only?) anymore.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\3D Vision\nvstlink.exe" /enable
"C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\3D Vision\nvstlink.exe" /disable
May something does exist for gsync too? I could on find that for linux: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/310983/how-can-i-disable-gsync-without-opening-nvidia-settings
Search terms, "cusor movement after disabling 3d vision"? or jumping ... I wonder if it might be even related to that glfw bug?

I tested with a 1080 Ti and 144/165 showed up. Like you I believe it should works with 660 Ti as mentioned in the link you provided. But nevermind, I returned the monitor (crosstalk issue) and weill get a replacement and it will go on the 1080 Ti so no more problem. I was just testing the monitor early until I get the 1080 Ti. :-)
Thanks for your help.

Great! So you also don't got that cursor movement with a 1080 Ti?
I am sure it might be handy for some1 with a similar problem. If the error doesn't persist, those hints of mine might be something for someone still having problems. Else one might has to contact the creator giving all the details this post and may more can provide.
Anyway, I hope everything works out now, so happy gaming on your new setup!
