I have an issue that may or may not be related to windows 10 FCU.
I get the "warning attempt to run stereoscopic 3d in non-stereo" message when I start a game. My monitor is and Asus PG278QR and is set at a 165Hz refresh rate. The only way I can get 3D Vision to work is to manually change the monitors refresh rate to 120Hz. I didn't have to do this before. The driver would automatically change the monitors refresh rate and 3D Vision worked fine. I've tried drivers 387.92 and 388.00 and both require me to change the refresh rate. I should also mention that I have a BENQ XL2720T connected via DVI-D that has a max refresh rate of 120Hz. Having this connected has never caused issues in the past.
I'm going to reimage my pc to before the FCU and test it. Hopefully, it's not my monitor causing issues. I'll keep this updated with what I find.
UPDATE
So, I reimaged my pc back to win ver 1703. Updated to the latest 388.00 drivers and 3D Vision worked. I then did an upgrade to win ver 1709 and tried again. I'm getting the now dreaded "warning attempt to run stereoscopic 3d in non-stereo" error again. So, something with this new fall creators update doesn't let the driver switch my monitors refresh rates when trying to play a game in 3D Vision. The 3D wizard works fine as do the demo screens.
Has anyone else encountered this issue with the FCU?

"warning attempt to run stereoscopic 3d in non-stereo" >> i get this message when i'm using 3DSurround when the game i launch is set with AA more than 2x. But it's like this since i get 3DSurround (mid-2016)
In fact, 3DGeforce Experience always set AA more than 2x for all games, because it doesn't think about 3DSurround and i got the error message when i launch the game (which has been set by 3DGeforce Exp.)
but i have another message : the set has been downgraded to 2x to assure compatibility.
so i manually set the game to AA 2x, not more.
i don't think it's related to windows 10 FCU

What happens if you check the checkbox in the Nvidia Control Panel that allows you to force 100 or 120 Hz?
My Windows 10 Pro thinks there aren't any updates yet. I don't know why.
i don't think it's related to windows 10 FCU
This behavior, as I've tested, only exhibits itself with the FCU (1709), not the version before (1703).

I've never had to do this before but I thought I'd try it out with FCU. No luck, unfortunately.
As I've mentioned, the only way to get 3D Vision to work without the error, is to change my monitors refresh rate to 120Hz in the NV control panel. It works after that. So it seems, the refresh rate isn't changing from my standard 165Hz to 120Hz when I start a game with 3D Vision enabled. 3D Vision still works at least, but it's a pain in the butt to have to change my monitors refresh rate in order to enjoy it.
@Manuel G. Have you had anyone else bring this issue to your attention?

I'm always at 120Hz in desktop (for ULMB), and if this happens to me, it will be useful. Like using custom refresh rates at native resolution instead of having to use custom resolutions on top of that. And if the game uses the desktop resolution and refresh rate, I would save some time.

Could you please post what monitor you're having this same issue with?
I am installing FCU right now and will test 3D Sur.round, too.
I will update my post then.
My Rig:
Here is my System:
Intel I7 6850K @4.3 Ghz
ASUS Rampage V Edition 10
2x EVGA GTX1080 SC (Using Standard SLI Bridge since driver 381.89 I cannot enable Surround together with Accessory display by using Nvidia HB-SLI-Bridge)
32GB DDR4 RAM (@2400mhz)
Windows 10 64 bit (Version 1607 - Build 14393.1770)
Nvidia Driver 388.00
My Monitors are connected as following:
3xBenq XL2720T:
Main Monitor on GPU1 DVI Connector
Right Monitor on GPU1 first DP-Connector
Left Monitor on GPU2 DVI Connector
SAMSUNG TV (PS51E6500):
Connected on GPU1 HDMI-Connector
Update will follow.
Update:
Now I am on Windows 10 64 bit Version 1709 (Build 16299.19) and Nvidia driver 388.10 (Still using Standard SLI-Bridge (HB-Bridge do not work with Surround + Accessory Display)
3D Vision WORKS as before (tested so far: Crysis 3 with Real 3D fix, Witcher 2 3D Vision ready and Shadow of Mordor).
What I did after installing the FCU -> Running DDU and removed old drivers and installed latest driver. Anyway I would always recommend uninstall and reinstall Nvidia drivers after applying a creators update.

Hello again , not really something new to say
After fall update no 3d vision for me at least not the real 3d.
Monitor ASUS ROG-SWIFT-PG278QR
Driver 388.00 WHQL
3d vision is working if i test it in the nvidia control panel.
But MrALLroy you say its working if you put your monitor manually to 120 hz
I tried it but nothing happened.
I think something conflicting between the nvidia 3d controller and the new windows fall update
I hope they gonna fix it soon i'm not going back to 1703
Although i already miss my 3dvision

Same here. I can't update the drivers without the 3d vision driver failing to install. It works as long as I don't update and keep the monitor in 120hz (it won't switch anymore when I start a game). I only managed to get it working again on CFU by a complete reinstall of windows 10 from a backup made just after updating to the creators fall update and prior to attempting to update the nvidia drivers. I tried the most recent version of DDU twice as well - no joy. Everything installs except the 3d vision driver which just says 'failed'.

In fact, 3DGeforce Experience always set AA more than 2x for all games, because it doesn't think about 3DSurround and i got the error message when i launch the game (which has been set by 3DGeforce Exp.)
but i have another message : the set has been downgraded to 2x to assure compatibility.
so i manually set the game to AA 2x, not more.
i don't think it's related to windows 10 FCU
