I've seen a few 3d movies at the theater recently but the Captain EO movie at Disneyland was the coolest 3D I've seen. It really looked like things were close enough to touch them, and most people I've talked to say that the 3D was more convincing than anything coming out in theaters now. It's an old movie too. So what made it look so convincing? Are there any demos out that have that quality 3D? I recently got my projector set up and a lot of games look somewhat artificial, and the 3D gives it a glossy look. Neat but I haven't seen any real feeling of depth, though it improves the texture it doesn't quite look like you're looking through a window.

Its hard to say since I never saw that in theaters. Maybe people are more nostalgic about their first experiences with 3D? For me it was the 1994 IMAX film Into the Deep. That movie had almost holographic quality 3D that blows everything I've seen recently out of the water. You could literally reach out and touch the fish as they swam past your face. Not sure what they are doing wrong on current movies. I find the 3D on games to be more impressive. But sometimes I wonder what is holding them back from making the 3D look like you are *REALLY* looking out a window. Even the furthest background usually only looks a few inches deep into the monitor. I think there can still be improvements with the 3D driver or maybe when games have native support it will look better. I thought the Avatar game was pretty nice.

Metro2033 is the best I saw, too bad I had to put it down until I upgrade on my screen and GFX. But actually 35fps in 3d arent that bad. Looks like you get the smooth motion properties of 60hz?

Lol tell me you are kidding. I literally got back from Disneyland last night, saw Captain Eo and
my wife and I both thought it was one of the worst 3d films we have ever seen. Sure it might have been impressive 25 years ago but by today's standards it looked Horrible. Sooo much cross talk not even funny... Did you happen to see Shrek 4d? A bugs life 3d?? They are no comparison to that crappy 3d in Captain Eo
