Best way to overclock without rivatuner? or EVGA precision?

i was nt trying to disprove you in any way, i was merely trying to understand the issue in more detail. some screenshots /picture of the problem could help us solve it.

does the problem still occur with SLI not enabled?

I'm starting to wonder if you're trolling me. Yes, it happens with SLI disabled. Physx disabled. Sound disabled. Food disabled. 3d vision + rivatuner based app is a 100 percent guaranteed way to get flashes, and the only way to fix it is to uninstall the app or remove it from active memory by killing the process.

That's really not my question though.

Why don't you read my 3rd post - the 5th post in this thread? Then you'll understand where I'm coming from. But yeah, you're right - I do come off as a bit of a dick. Been doing this too long, I guess. My bad.

In other news, powerstrip does work but it's damn inconvenient. Seems like nvidia has a lot less usermade apps than ati, eh? Sorta sucks, I'm pretty sure that rivatuner has become the universal go-to app for nvidia. Can't find a single other app on majorgeeks, guru3d or nvnews.net

Have you tried Nvidia system performance tool 6.05?
I used it to overclock and run the fan profile. Excellent and easy to use. The only pain is each time updating the Nvidia Geforce/stereoscopy driver the control panel is gone, you need to uninstall/reinstall for it to show again. The biggest convenience is setting the fan profile graphically.

pretty much, rivatuner does the job for any card be it ati or nvidia. for those that are confused by it there is Precision or afterburner. there arent really other programs because those three do everything people need.

its just unfortunate your PC takes issue with the programs.

what i would suggest is look into overclocking using the cads BIOS - you can set the speed of the core, shaders and memory directly in the cards BIOS - this has the added advantage of overclocking the card to the values you set regardless of operating system you boot into or computer the card is in. the obvious disadvantages include the added complexity, the danger of messing with your cards BIOS and the lack of being able to boot without the clocks applied, like you can with rivatuner by booting in safemode etc. Jaafaman is the person to talk to about overclocking in the cards BIOS, but make sure you have researched it first before asking him anything.

im not trolling, and i hope you find my reply useful.
