Once you get set up without overflowing VRAM (either by lowering settings to below your card max, or by having 4G or greater), you might find that you still get stutter. Pretty sure that I just figured out that that last stutter is caused by the hated UPlay. When I am in Online mode, I get stutter, when I'm in Offline mode, no stutter. Might just be that the game itself enables all the online features, but in any case, I care a lot less about the online junk than I do on smooth gameplay. I saw this with a back to back to back test of Online/stutter, Offline/smooth, Online/stutter, Offline/smooth. Please report back here if anyone can reproduce this.

What news - can you provide any source. Are they going to fix it or what ? Holding up on this title - hopefully will get it before GTAV.
Hello bo3b with the recent news about 3d fixes from EQ, are you still going to fix Watchdogs?
Yep, I'm still working on it. I'm very sorry to see Mike and eqzitara stepping back, but it doesn't impact our ability to fix stuff, it just means they won't be doing it. Mike has said he'd like to look at Watch Dogs as one last game, so if I can get shaders dumped, he can have a go with them, and likely get something. In the worst case if Mike is unavailable, I can always disable shadows, and fix car headlights, which are the two big problems here. Current problem though is that the game actively kills debuggers and that makes it difficult for me to debug problems. Amusing that it's trying to prevent my hacking. At present I'm still stuck on getting shaders dumped. If I can't figure out that part, then it's not going to happen, but I haven't given up yet.

New Extra HQ Mod 3.1 for 3d vision Users.

Attention
Do not complain about performance on Ultra Graphics settings
Using high, medium and low is just fine and optimized for best visual quality.

Instructions: Use all files included for best experience

This version contains my tweaked setting with much higher lods, resolutions,
tessellations, particles, and much more whiles using ULtra graphics settings.
This version is really heavy on my system and I cant promise performance gains on Ultra.
I did my best to optimised and I made sure that no unnecessary additions were made. The
mod will still be quite playable using high graphics settings while ultra settings
have the highest noticeable changes on all aspects

Use the included gamerprofile.
Use the included sweetfx as well

Recommended Systemspecs: GTX780TI, I7 CPU. 16GB RAM. or equivalent

List of changes and modifications:

NO AA = FXAA

Graphics settings changes

HMBAO = High Quality downsampled SSAO
No Ambient Occlusion = HMBAO
Low = Vanilla medium optimized by me
Medium = Vanilla High optimized by me
High = Vanilla Ultra optimized by me
Ultra = Uber Ultra optimized for the extra HQ version (Heavy with both Ultra and High textures)

Recommended Graphics settings changes

Calibration = 25 to 35
Max prerendered frames = 1 to 2
Vsync = off
Use High textures and High graphics settings
Antialiisiog for Ultra textures = Smaa or MSAA 2x or 4X

Nvidia Controlpanel

Ambient Occlussion = quality
Anisotropic Filtering = 16x
Antiailising FXAA = on
Texture filtering negative lod bias = clamp for better image quality
Texture filtering quality = High quaility
Tripple Buffering = on

Graphics settings recommendations

Ultra graphics + Ultra textures settings specs = 4GB 780TI or 290X or higher recommended
Do not use ultra unless you have the specs above. Also make a shortcut of the game and go

-disablepagefilecheck -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=4

I believe that you may now be able to turn off DOF and still see it during
cinematics

Beaware that you may even play with Low and medium graphics settings whitout any major
lost in visual quality and huge performance gains.

Beaware FPS will go down when using Ultra textures.

Known bugs from Extra HQ

I remember when watchdogs first came out, my brother was able to dump the shaders using Flugan's wrapper but all the shaders dumped were in asm not hlsl (as I understand it 3dmigoto only handles hlsl code).

@darkyec: Nice stuff, thanks for sharing. Do you not use SweetFX because it is broken with this game now? I would be very surprised if their wrapper is still working on latest version, please let me know. @Wozman420: Yep, all ASM versus HLSL for 3Dmigoto. HLSL is preferred because it's a high-level language, but we will use anything we can. As near as I can tell, in the latest release Ubisoft deliberately blocks wrappers, including Flugan's wrapper, 3Dmigoto, and SweetFX. Not positive though.

Is there any way of converting the ASM dumps to HLSL? I'm sure that it would require a ton of work if even possible though...
Is there any way of converting the ASM dumps to HLSL? I'm sure that it would require a ton of work if even possible though...
That's actually how 3Dmigoto works, it has a built in Decompiler, and thus can use the normal Microsoft compiler after it's been changed. (yeah, it was a ton of work. :-> Chiri did the heavy lifting there, and I've been fixing bugs in it.) It would be possible to use the ASM directly, because Flugan's wrapper includes an Assembler, which Microsoft never provided for DX11. In theory, this should be possible to use, but we need other features like shader hunting and reloading of fixes to make it work. It sounds like maybe Flugan is working on that again. The ASM version is how the HelixMod works for DX9. The main reason I've put so much effort into the HLSL version instead, is because the HLSL is much more approachable, and it should be possible for more people to use it and contribute.
