I have updated the initial post here and mad a little script making it easier for you:

Script driven Installation:
- get http://www.share-online.biz/dl/ENIN68SP1X
- start 3D_driver_Changer.cmd (make sure you are system admin but DO NOT START as admin via right click!!!)
- follow the description!

Great job Losti! Yeah and rcedit was exactly I was looking for :).

I have tested your method and it works like a charm so far. At least 3D Vision test demo ran without issues - I have to test some games yet.

I tested the following scenarios:

  • User installed a Geforce driver where 3D Vision is missing. He wants to keep that current driver but have 3D Vision back
  • User installed a Geforce driver where 3D Vision is missing. He wants to update to the latest version and have 3D Vision back

1. scenario: (readding 3D Vision driver to current driver)

  1. I installed 3D Vision controller drivers in Windows Device Manager.
  2. I adjusted FileInfo via rcedit of the 3D Vision driver DLLs
  3. Then I installed 3D Vision drivers with the setup.exe

Result: 3D Vision works

2. scenario: (updating to latest version and have 3D Vision back)

  1. I copied the 3D Vision Controller driver folder into the extracted setup of the geforce driver
  2. Installed geforce driver (I've chosen quick setup because most users do)
  3. Checked if 3D Vision controller driver have been installed - yes it was!
  4. Adjusted fileinfo of the 3D Vision DLLs
  5. Ran 3D Vision setup. Installed like a charm.

Result: 3D Vision works

I'll add an automation in 3DFM for this. The user can then decide if he wants to automatically download and install the latest graphics driver (and have 3D Vision) or keep the current driver version and re-add 3D Vision.

@Paul: In another thread, it seems there is a problem with Windows 10 May update (build 1903) and RTX (possibly GTX as well) with this methods. Everything will work, but the driver will crash when trying to run 3D Vision. Maybe you can also test it as well ;) I don't have the May update yet (and I am not in a hurry to get it tbh)

Its working with 425.31 as zig reported. Hey paul the device mamager is a great idea. I used a 3D driver having 3D driver install for the first Time. Than and for any Update it just needs the version correction for the 3D driver to get the Installation to work.

I managed to get 3D working on the latest driver with your script. But for some reason the drivers (neither the new nvidia nor the 3D setup) did not install automatically when I press the button. It opened a window in my games-folder that let me choose a file instead. So I manually installed the drivers when prompted in your script. I ended up with "the driver does not match to 3D Vision" or something like that. I tried it again after DDU and this time I closed avast antivirus and the MSI-afterburner before and when installing 430.86 I did not choose "new install". Don't know what made the difference but this time it went good. Edit: 3D working tested on Sniper Elite 3.

Yeah think Antivirus Problem i think. The new install does not have to do anything with the changes of the version Nummer for the 3D vision Files. If you get the version not Match error the version numbers for the files where not beeing applyed. The Script is only a little bit more confortable. In case of any trouble the manual way should do the Trick.

In windows 10 with Mai Update you Crash 3D games having an rtx Card and this Type of Installation. Reported by one User we do not have a second prove for this.

Solution is simple, system image your current iteration of Win 10 (1703 here) and indefinitely defer 1903 update, which is another bug riddled mess to begin with: https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/brd8rp/windows_10_may_2019_update_megathread/ If I could do PC gaming on Linux I would've switched yesterday.
