Thanks for checking. That really sucks man. Maybe we were misinformed and it's not a dual link DVI but maybe an older Single link DVI. Gotta find some pics of the back of the projector.

Way ahead of ya, pictures of it show it to definitely be DVI-I with the the two columns of pins in the middle necessary to accept a dual link connection. In a single link dvi connection theres 2 columns less of pins. Maybe single link dvi cables are so old and uncommon that Acer decided to just stick in a dual link input so they wouldn't have to worry about compatibility i.e. DVI Single & Dual link cables can stick into a DVI Dual link slot, but if it had been a single link slot then people wouldnt have been able to use dual link cables as the pins wouldnt go in.

Could just be a cosmetic thing and those columns arent hooked up to anything, they just allow for pins to go in to avoid consumer frustration with different cable types.

Until someone actually plugs in a dual link cable and tries to force a resolution that activates the second link we wont know if its for show or not.

Edit: http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/03/electronics/aplus/4717276614027-02.jpg There certainly seems to be contact pins in there ^_^

On that french site I linked earlier http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hdfever.fr%2F2011%2F08%2F24%2Facer-h9500bd%2F

People say in comments it is dvi-single link connector.
..Unfortunately, I just talk to a guy from Acer at the IFA and mde said he does not support 3D 1080p 120 hz, and that the connector is the DVI Single Link ... : Sad:

Well he does go on to say that it seemed the Acer guy didn't sound sure *crosses fingers extra extra tight for dual link*

So its a 100% positive that this doesn't do 1080p 120hz?

I think this has way higher resolution and way brighter too. FullHD is only slightly higher than 720p and vastly overrated.

DVI and VGA have nothing to do with the HDMI bandwidth limitation. Obviously if it's single link DVI you'll have a problem, but it would still be possible via VGA. However, Andrew says that the projector can't do it so.... shame.
