I just got myself an Optoma HD66 and a kit of 3dvision2 wireless
On the emitter, there is a hole where i can hook a RS232 to 1/8 cable to sync the dlp
I am not sure how that works... do i need it plugged in all the time, is it to re sync my dlp from time to time? can i leave it out completely all the time?
i tried to find some info in the little help book but couldn't find anything.
How does it work?
I did not see any difference with this in or out
I would prefer not using this because my projector is not near my emitter

If I understand your question correctly, then 'no' you don't.
By the way, this is a "user to user" support forum and it's a friendly place, so it's not particularly constructive to demand answers. If you look at the other threads you'll see that we're a generally helpful bunch. If you've bought it new and it doesn't function as supplied then official channels are always an option as well.

That's fair enough :-) The moderators haven't really been active on this forum for probably at least a month unfortunately though.
I believe that connection is for a VESA sync though, which you'd only need to worry about with some of the older large DLP TV's - Mitsubishi etc.. I don't know if you can even buy those displays outside of the US, they've certainly not available in the U.K. anyway.
