I just finished playing Mass Effect and recorded some of the scenery in 3D. Many of the environments are amazing looking and they did a really good job with their level design. While i was editing the video, it occurred to me that if i were to see this video before jumping on the 3D bandwagon, of this type of gameplay and setting that i like, in 3D, i'd have gone bonkers for it and would have put a 3D setup on the top of my gaming list. So i then thought about how Nvidia could show this to the average joe without having multiple computer terminals, which i don't think is very ideal really. Seems to me you could have a large screen offering a high FoV [70 degrees +] with a projector displaying it. Move the screen upwards so people can stand under it and space isn't wasted, then tilt it forward a bit so its edges are equidistant to the viewers. Then have a narrow table with a row of 3D glasses and headphones.

Again, this would have blown me away. If i were Nvidia marketing dept, this is what would do at every public gathering where Nivida had a demo both of some sort. It would also advance the cause of 3D in general by destroying a viewers idea that 3D was a gimmick, absolutely DESTROY it! Except maybe for this guy -> /pirate.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':pirate:' /> ...and these poor chaps -> /excl.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':excl:' />/heart.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Don't forget about the double ninja's /ph34r.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> /ninja.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':ninja:' /> or is it just one ninja in two places at the same time, the mystery persists! /blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Yes I agree I think using a projector instead of one or a couple of screens would be very effective.

Yeah, as long as its BIG, for a lot of viewers. I don't think projectors have crosstalk either? Im sure they can afford a bright, 4k projector since they arrange LAN parties on aircraft carriers. Plus they could re-sell it when they were done with it.

That is Tridef, notice the lights are centered. I don't think Nvidia can do that. I got used to the crosshair adn i don't want to bother with turning it off a thousand times for cutscenes.

Tritosine2k PM'ed told me that Andrew used to set up surround projectors in 3D and i guess it was a pain. Well, great news, surround in 3D is way the hell out of reach for most people anyway. I'd just go with a high FoV [aka large]16x9 display with the 3D games recorded at a matching depth/conv level and help get the 3D ball rolling.

3d surround is not so expensive. I was considering it but not enough games that it works well with + video cards = expensive. Acer 5360's were on newegg for 440+ free shipping. $1300 isnt that bad people are spending that on 3d tv's anyways.
Though they are def. a pain to set up on a location. Pack up and do it again. They could always make faux Rear projection tv set-up. with projectors though. That way measurements are done beforehand and they just have to unpack 3 rear projection tvs.

Works great cause of all the in-game cinematics(conversations/etc) and the zoom feature.
Most dlp dont have crosstalk. Some do. LCD/ETC(not so much in the etc category) do.
Also why dont you disable the crosshair/disable hub in me1? Its so annoying.
