Skyrim 3D Vision, Weird effect hurts eyes, how do i fix?
  1 / 2
I set up skyrim in 3d and used the settings it recommended such as water reflections off and shadows to medium, but the shadows at least i think its the shadows give a glow or something that messes with my eyes and makes it hard to see, almost like ur looking into the sun but not bright, how can i make skyrim work properly in 3d?

Skyrim doesn't work with 3D out of the box. Basically 1 out of 2 games that look good in 3D as of last few years were modded for support. Ignore nvidia's pop up crap. Turn everything to ultra then do the following. Download this http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2012/03/elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-3d-vision-all-in.html Do this Shadows are now properly fixed in Skyrim 1.6! Just change bDeferredShadows=0 in your skyrimPrefs.ini to use the old shadow rending method: bDeferredShadows=0 If you want to check my blog that I just started, may be useful. In my comments. Also if you don't know about convergence its in nvidia control panel->set up stereoscopic 3d->set keyboard shortcuts->advanced. Assign keys to convergence. May have to hold key up to 30 seconds in game to take effect. It makes games seem "less flat". http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2012/06/how-to-unlock-convergence-in-locked.html Look at left/right resident evil picture. That explains it.

Well then you are screwed. You install mods to make it render right in 3D. Spend five minutes and read it/do it or you can't. That's what it comes down to.
nope im confused what all this stuff ur linking me i not got a clue, i jsut want skyrimn to work in 3d fine no mods or downloads.
I know at first it might seem a little overwhelming but it's really not and honestly it's the ONLY way to get games looking practically perfect in 3D. If you have any problems getting them to work everyone here will help. Usually it's just a matter of unpacking the dll and shader overrides into the game's(exe) folder, occasionally there's some ini editing in notepad but the instructions are all there with the game's listing. http://helixmod.wikispot.org/gamelist eqzitara knows what he's talking about, unlock the advanced keyboard shortcuts. After you have your depth set, it's global ... default is 15% you'll want to go higher than that, use ctrl+F5 to lower, ctrl+F6 to raise (usually what's needed) and ctrl+F7 to save the settings, the convergence settings are saved for each game.

Do this. 1. Download the fix 2. Extract it 3. Head over to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim 4. Drop the files in there 5. Done. It would take less than 30 seconds.

One thing i didn't realize during my second go with Helix mod was that you need to download the .dll file separate from the other files (all go in the same folder). I assume because it is updated sometimes(assuming again). Everything should look fine except for sometimes the Sky looks wrong. I just don't pay attention to the sky when that happens and it didn't bother me much at all. I also used the Project Reality: Climates of Tamriel mod which may have made it worse or better, i don't know.

46" Samsung ES7500 3DTV (checkerboard, high FOV as desktop monitor, highly recommend!) - Metro 2033 3D PNG screens - Metro LL filter realism mod - Flugan's Deus Ex:HR Depth changers - Nvidia tech support online form - Nvidia support: 1-800-797-6530

Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
