Nivida 3DTV play software?

Buy the man a beer. What he said.

Nvidia is fumbling this badly, especially after the big PR tour partnering with panasonic. I bought a VT20 already expecting to be ablt to connect my new GTX480; MAJOR kick in the balls to not have the necessary software to finish the job.

I will see if ATI has a solution and RMA the GTX480 to newegg.

so, can we use tridef and iz3d as a replacement for 3d vision drivers?

man, if ATI will support 3dtv's before nvidia, i am switching to them. (cant believe i am saying this, i was very loyal to nvidia not long ago)

and here is another one switching, my sammy, acer h5360 and glasses will be on ebay by monday tea time.
nvidia dont give a f*ck about the fact you have already purchase because they already have your money!
as for support..... pffffft what a joke!
they would rather work on new technology like up coming revised cards, and make more money outta you.

the iz3d solution works well with low end computers. If you want high end 3d graphics better sit with nivdia for now. iz3d has no sli or crossfire support. no dx10 or 11. plus the shutter glass support is only in beta and does not work very well. Of course that might not matter since all of you will only be able to game in 720p or maybe 1080p half resolution. Far from full HD.

I am a secret fan of iz3d and really wish they had the features to run my high end 3d gaming system. I would love to get away from nvidia's proprietary nonsense. but in the end- i just care about what software drivers provide the best gaming experience. try the iz3d for yourself- i did- i couldn't delete them fast enough.

I seriously wish they would release the software so all you uninformed whiners will go away. Perhaps you all should have done some research before you purchase your overpriced under-featured tv.

12gb ddr3 2000mhz ram

Panasonic VT25 (nice 2d but I returned it due to cross talk)

Acer H5360 720p on 130" screen (the best 3d)

3dplay is stopping me from buying tv. But i think i am gonna do it anyway, at least automatic 2d-3d conversation will be there while we cant use proper one.
They are still good TVs even in 2d mode and surely not underfeatured. As for 720p 3d i seriously doubt it will change anytime soon (until next gen of consoles will be released in..2013-15?).

Are you sh1tting me? Did they beat your head with bricks in the nvidia parking lot? How can you drink this kool-aid and still be able to troll on these forums? If I want "high end" 3D graphics, I'll use my PS3, which along with DirecTV is the only real support of the latest technology. This is like buying a GTX480, and there are no games in 3D to play on my Viera plasma. Wait, did I say "like"? I MEAN THAT"S EXACTLY WHAT IS F8CKING GOING ON!!

After completing a lengthy press conference tour with sweaty drones on youtube stumbling over their "value proposition" corporate vernacular, we the end-users and early adopters are greeted with DEAFENING SILENCE!!!

No product announcements, no descriptions, no information, nothing but a ridiculous "coming soon! Until then keep taking it up the ass from us fine folks at nVidia!" on the 3D section of the web site!

Done some research? DONE SOME RESEARCH?!!? I've been researching this purchase decision for 2 YEARS and world cup in 3d alone is worth it!

How about nVidia does some goddamn marketing research, and stop leaving the innovation to third-party vendors who can hack some sh1t up and actually RELEASE it to the public!

At least give us some betas.

Good god, sir, you are a jackass.

LOL! Enjoy your ps3 3d gaming at 720p at 20 frames a second. Have you even seen ps3 3d? its a total joke compared to PC 3d. you either have no idea what you are talking about or have no ability with the English language and are unable to convey a sarcastic tone through your writing.

I can help you by suggesting you check out your local chapter of EAA, or early adopters anonymous.. Im sure they can help you with your nerd rage.

If you had done research you would know that 3dtv play is not released yet and you should also know that unreleased software is prone to delays. get over yourself. the world does not revolve around you.

well at least you guys can watch your one 3d blue ray or play around with the inferior IZ3d drivers.

Avatar : the game on supports your Panasonic 3DTV on any GPU right now (Nvidia or ATI) without having to wait for 3DTV play

1) disbale 3D vision driver or iZ3D driver or DDD driver.
2) configure Avatar to use 1920x1080 resolution
3) set the 3D mode inside the game menu to "side by side"
4) in the TV menus, manually enable the 3D mode and tell the TV the pictures are side by side
-> if necessary tick the "swap eyes" box if the left and right eye view are reversed.

Of course I have. You obviously were not able to deduce that I own one, which is why I informed you that its my 3D resource of last resort.

Agreed. Though PC at this point, without nVidia 3DTV play, is still output in SbS format to 3DTVs in half resolution. You would know this if you weren't a pale virgin troll living in mom's basement (or equivalent - college dormroom covered with cluttered pizza boxes, pitiful coding job with web design startup in apartment littered with AICN and LARPING/cosplay/emo schwag, etc.)

Or, as I mentioned and you have disregarded out of turn, I can make do with PS3 methods and wish for nvidia to follow suit (though with the likes of you as a customer base, why bother to innovate?), and otherwise watch DirecTv's early 3D offerings, which are meager but better than nothing.

Abilor - the release for 3dTVPlay has been Summer since it was announced. I know this because I was working as a contractor for Nvidia representing them on the Panasonic Touch the Future Tour when it was announced. Nvidia is very busy developing not only 3dTVPlay but also getting other driver enhancements STABLE such as 3d Surround. The graphics processor in your PS3 is based on the 7 series Geforce GPU . . .stereoscopic 3d gaming causes about a 50% FPS hit. How can a PS3 keep up with a PC with a modern Nvidia GPU (or two-four of them)? Something has to give. I am not sure why you can other posters have to get personal with each-other (not blaming you but just making a statement). Be patient. I will be worth the wait.

Hi DarthBeavis, it was always quoted as spring as every google search will testify too and even the nvidia site itself.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/io_1268635315649.html

•Can be run on GeForce GPU-based desktop or notebook PCs equipped with an HDMI or DVI connector
•Full support for all HDMI 1.4-compatible 3D TVs, including Panasonic VIERA Plasma full HD 3D TVs
â—¦Enables 1080p24, 720p60, and 720p50 3D formats
•Advanced NVIDIA software and graphics drivers automatically convert more than 400 games to stereoscopic 3D in real time, without the need for special patches.
•Enjoy full HD Blu-ray 3D playback with real-time GPU accelerated decoding and playback on GeForce GPUsi
•Watch streaming 3D movies
•View 3D photographs directly on the 3D TV
•NVIDIA 3DTV Play software will be available later this spring and sold separately with an anticipated U.S. MSRP of $39.99. It will also be available for free for current NVIDIA 3D Vision™ customers

Its just the fact nothing has been said since the initial press confrence and we are now left in the dark as to when this will be released, just a little annoying as there are quite a few proper 3d tvs out now and still no software to properly run the games we all have been on our monitors.

Lets hope its very soon! my panasonic awaits it very eagerly!

True, i let the troll bait me. I'm just with Dave here: there was this thundering, blustering, badass media tour for some great products, and now an empty void. 3DTV was announced for spring, and now it is summer.

Just impatient. I'm perfectly happy with my tv, and understand fully all the technical ins and outs of SbS/TnB vs. framepacking, the max FPS for 1080p 3D, etc.

I don't need to be told by some troll that being an early adopter suggests I'm cavalier or understudied - quite the contrary.

Several other members are up in arms on the AVS 3d forums, also wondering what the deal is.

It would be great if nvidia made any announcement at all. I'd cut them a lot of slack if there was just some sort of update.
