Batman: Arkham Knight - 3D Fix Available!
Quite shocking to realize that Warner Bros. seems to cheat its customers on purpose. http://www.areagames.de/games/batman-arkham-knight/news/bericht-warner-wusste-monaten-pc-version-batman-arkham-knight-schlamassel-136741/ This article basically says that according to Kotaku's interviews with some quality assurance testers Warner was fully aware of the crappy PC-port and all its bugs. While there were more than 100 QA-testers for the console versions there were only 10 assigned for the PC-port. The consoles' QA teams were that big because they struggled for month to get the game running properly on console. Then comes a citation where it is said that pretending to be totally surprised by the quality of the PC-port seems absolutely absurd on Warner's part because they knew it all along. Those quality assurance testers also say that there were nearly 100 bugs found EVERY SINGLE DAY and that the developers fixed what they could but already being in crunch-time there was no chance to get it all fixed. Also it seems the bug-checking was made using 720p so the PC-port was running more reliable than under 1080p. Warner didn't want to bring in an external team which is specialized on PC-ports because they feared this mess could come to light. Judging from other recent WB PC-ports (Mortal Kombat X - I am looking at you) I am tempted to believe all of these accusations instantly.
Really sad, but I don't need some report to convince me of everything contained within. It's pretty obvious that there was no way they COULDN'T know about the problems and chose to release it anyway.

It's not likely to be fixed in 2D and re-released for at least a couple months, and it's not currently available for sale. So if a fix happens, it probably won't be until after that time.

Is this good enough to get interested in this game ? •Reduced frame rate hitches •Optimized system memory and VRAM usage •Improved performance on all GPUs (requires the latest drivers) •Min Spec AMD GPU is once again the Radeon HD 7870 2GB •More Robust In-Game Settings, including: •Added the ability to change settings for Max FPS to 30/60/90 •Added toggles for Motion Blur, Chromatic Aberration, and Film Grain •Added a “High” Texture Resolution value •Added Texture Filtering option •Added an Adaptive V-Sync option (NVIDIA only) •Added VRAM Usage Meter •Added Mouse Sensitivity Slider & Mouse Smoothing Option •Fixed low resolution texture bugs •Fixed hitches when running on mechanical hard drives (HDD) BTW: Don't pay attention to this thread - some lunatics posted this and confusing the shit out of people: http://steamcommunity.com/app/208650/discussions/0/523890046879516302/

Correct, don't believe until you see it, though adding a 30/60/90 is something that makes you think (and hope) that they actually might have made game performance much better (mostly shows that they might have succeded very good results with tweaks/coding for texture streaming and memory management).

Considering how well it's running currently. I've noticed very little performance problems with my 4ghz i7 and GTX 980. It's been some time since I played it but my impression was good. I'll say let them improve the game and it should work on more machines. Minimum requirement was pretty steep. Finally I edited the ini file for up to 120fps.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?

Mike and I have looked at this one briefly before. 3Dmigoto is working with an extra step of needing a d3dcompiler loader, but is otherwise working correctly. Mike fixed two or three effects, but it's wasn't too playable before. There is some highly unusual lighting being used where the shaders are not directly huntable. Seems like a ComputeShader, so it's extra complex. I'll take a look and see where it currently stands. I think that in that Steam thread he was accidentally running in CM. Should be an option until/if we can make a fix.

Yeah that was a waste of time. Nothing has changed.

Sure it's possible for me too to have very very good performance without the "bugged" Gameworks stuff and maybe some settings reduced but even then performance is not good in a stable way all-the-time. With the -great- tweak tool from Steam it's way better (and TBH very playable for my PC all max,all Gameworks on) still needs fixes to be as good as it should be. SLI perf. is not good and it's better on single (and 2nd gpu to Physx). G-sync make good difference too, I took a video and saw stuttering that in my actual gameplay..couldn't see(I could see some stutter when engine's load stuff and when fps ~50 and below). This was a video with just single 970 (chopped to 720 from 1080p,ofc Afterburner's cpaturing lower ~3fps)

I am anxiously awaiting the re-release of this game, and I sincerely hope the gurus will be able to get 3D working properly. That being said, I don't think it is worth the time messing with it UNTIL it is re-released. This interim patch, which was due in August but is now expected in September, will help those who already own the game, but Rocksteady themselves have implied that the PC version has to be rebuilt from the ground up. It seems likely that any fixes made now would be broken again upon re-release.

I have to say that I am curious how much better could they succeed optimizing it to run fast enough..I mean we speaking about real 3D right? It has to be at least +100 fps on 2D so the perf. cost of 3D would be acceptable and playable..
