How to use 3D Vision on YouTube?
Hey guys, for a few days now I tried to enable 3D Vision on YouTube 3D Videos. Sadly all information on the net about how to enable it are obsolete, especially those informations from the retarded website called 3dvisionlive.com. From what I can guess is YouTube stopped their support of 3D Vision completely. From time to time I see informations pointing to http://www.youtube.com/select_3d_mode to select the appropiate 3D Mode, but by now it just redirects to an normal channel. I also read enabling HTML5-3D Mode on YouTube should fix the problem, but it doesn't. (And for the very rare videos it does, it's 360p only.) So does anyone here know how to enable it or did the whole 3D Vision Thing abandoned by Nvidia?

Fairly grim at the moment. YouTube is rolling out a new variable bitstream technology and a lot of it is busted up, not only 3D. For 3D YouTube, you can still get some to work, but it's tricky. It only works in FireFox, no other browser works, regardless of HTML5. It needs a special plugin. You can't do all 3D tagged videos, because HTML5 does not presently have a way to serve ads. So anything with ads, or monetized will say "html5 not available." Then, for the remaining that do work, you will presently only get 360p. Depends upon your output hardware though- if you had a 3D TV for example, you could go side-by-side at full res, full screen, monetized, and still have it work.

Sounds just as horrible as my attempts to get 3D YouTube to work with 3D Vision

I also have an 3D TV, but it's not connected to my PC and I don't plan on doing so as 3D Vision gives me an better overall experience. But at least it isn't just me having difficulties to make it work.

What Bo3b says is correct, and we are currently waiting on fixes from Firefox: HTML5 and Firefox are required for Youtube3D to work with 3DVision, and to view the videos on 3DVisionlive.com. Often, when FF is updated, there are issues. And there are fewer and fewer HTML5 3D vids on Youtube these days as well. That was why we originally set up the tab on 3DVisionlive - to try to collect decent HTML5 videos on YouTube in one easy spot for you to watch. HTML5 support has really been spotty at best for recent videos, however, and from FF itself. That said, Youtube3D playback is working on 3DVisionLive.com - use latest version of FF, ensure drivers are up to date, and HTML5 is selected as the playback option in the player's 3D settings. The videos are older though and the playback tips out of date, which I will try to address soon.

As mentioned at https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/761414/b/t/post/4260966/, I've found I can make YouTube 3D function by: [olist] [.]Ensuring that hardware acceleration is enabled in Firefox (wasn't by default)[/.] [.]First playing any video from 3DVisionLive.com (uses Silverlight, which engages 3D Vision)[/.] [.]Then load the 3D video on YouTube, click the 'cog' icon, and enable 3D as on.[/.] [/olist] May not necessarily be the answer to your problems, but it more-or-less made it work for me. I say "more-or-less" since videos are only 360p, and 3D Vision isn't engaged until playing a different Silverlight-based video first.

May as well just give up on this. Youtube changes every month and every single time it's gonna always be broken. there are not even that much 3D content available on youtube or the nvidia website to even care. Windowed 3d vision has been broken since 314.22 and heaven only knows how long it's been broken on youtube. More than 6 months I know that much.
