Any guess of how much it would be? I have the 27” benq but might want this one as well if the price is agreeable with my wallet.
Any guess of how much it would be?
Only see prices for the 1080p model ranging from $349 - $410 excluding the shipping that could be as much as $360 on some deals. It would probably cost around $500 exlc shipping. You already have three 3d displays? Why would you choose a PC monitor over a projector? I have to admit this monitor have a very nice design to it! Have any people from this community been hit by the hurricanes?

In Austria and Germany its listed for 850 - 916€, which is quite a steep price without quantum dot, i think. Another german homepage quoted ASUS at IFA 2017 "around 849€".

I simply don't care for a projector I want 1440p concentrated resolution in 3D....nothing is like it. Not even a projector

The projector is used for 3d movies and in home theater room, not convenient for gaming, the only easy access 3d monitor is the benq 27”. If the new asus 3d monitor is under 500 usd then I might think seriously.
not convenient for gaming
In what way, not practical? I'm still planning this out for a projector setup. (Not a controller type of guy) But just like first person shooters need a mouse and keyboard, a projector needs a comfortable sofa. Combination of sofa, mouse and keyboard seems to be impractical. Operating a mouse & keyboard needs proper ergonomic lumbar support for extensive periods. Also a solid stable supporting surface to operate it from. So I might need to mount a piece of wood on the wall with hinges next to the sofa. It seems the majority 3DV gamers prefer a projector over TV and PC monitor...? Those who owned all three "mainstream" items ofcourse.
....nothing is like it. Not even a projector
Why do you say this? Which projector did you try? 30% of the reason why I want to go this direction is because I want some gamer/friends to bite. We all have a part to play if we want 3DV to stay alive and/or grow. nVidia supposedly already lost millions and wont spend another penny to promote this tech. The fate of 3DV is up to this community. If it weren't for the enthusiasm of the shader hackers, this thread would probably not have existed. Why would Asus have bothered on another 3DV ready monitor if the stereoscopic gamers died? No heart feelings =)

The biggest obstacle for me is that my work/game computer is at my desk/study and moving it to the theater room is a big hassle. Also my main focus is flight sim and racing that need extra bulky gears and moving them around is not convenient. But even so, the few times I did play games on the w1070, pp was uh ing and ah ing and even I myself loving it. The Samsung projector tv is just too bulky i now run out of place to put it after couple moves since I bought it so it is to be decommissioned soon. If anybody on this board interested in picking it up for free let me know.

thoughts on this for 3D? looks like it's $800 . https://www.anandtech.com/show/12019/asus-launches-rog-swift-pg27vq-curved-27inch-lcd i can't find out if the emitter is included or not. what are the other options for >=1440p and 3d vision? is there an upcoming a non-TN panel that will do higher-res 3d?

i've currently a 3DSurround set with 3 x PG278Q, what's your advice if we change the middle screen by PG27VQ curved ? and what about a 3DSurround with 3 x curved 27" ? is it good ? but curved monitors can't be installed in a WGSF Stand v2, right ? http://www.wsgf.org/products/wsgf-ultimate-desk-stand-v2

I finally got the PG27VQ for 3D this weekend. As 3D Vision is dying and 3D monitor stocks are going soon, I wanted to upgrade and keep my PG278QR as a backup monitor. Big mistake. I tested 2 PG27VQs this weekend and both had bad ghosting compared to PG278QR. It was a deal breaker and ghosting was very noticeable. Tested on Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and GTX 1080ti. While I loved the design and it looks gorgeous, but 3D performance is totally busted. Day and night difference with PG278QR. I just got a second PG278QR and looks almost ghosting free. I would definitely recommend staying away from PG27VQ if ghosting is your concern.
