btw if you get this tv in bestbuy until sunday you get a free surroundsound/dvd system with it. What sucks is bestbuy has a 25 dollar recycling fee and it costs 70 bucks for delivery though, and the tax.

how to connect this tv to a 9800 gt that has no vga output (only dvi and s video)? Through a dvi to vga converter cable or a s video to composite converter cable?

Ive been reading that hdmi to dvi would be the best cable to use but the "pc input" on this hdtv I believe is vga and not dhmi so I dont know if I could just plug it into the other free hdmi inputs on the tv?

Just use the HDMI to DVI cable that was included with your kit. Plug it into the port labeled HDMI/DVI on the TV. Easy.
Hm I'm pretty sure it says 60hz, but I'll have to double check that.. (from what I understand
it's 60hz for each eye with this t.v?)

And yes, checkerboard mode. And for 3d mode, I usually just use mode 1.

And to anyone thinking about buying this t.v -don't expect it to work flawless out of the box, be
prepared to tweak the settings to find that sweet spot. Once you do though, you're laughing..

I read some where there was a way to enable all the picture settings on the TV like you can with the other HDMI inputs, is this true?
Has anybody tips for me with good settings for 3D Vision? I get rid off the ghosting when i push brightness at max but then it looks to bright in colors at gaming.
Can anybody explain me WHY there is such huge "green" ghosting? I want to understand. Could this be fixed with a firmware update from samsung in the future (if an update comes but i think they drop support when new tvs are out :( ) or is this an hardware problem? :)

Btw. i hope there will be any solution to use this TV with 3D stuff that comes in the future. I bought the TV in november last year and it would be very hard for me if there is no compatibility... :(

sorry if my english is poor :">

No one any tips?
Will it work with an external scaler? Would the checkerboard 3D pass thorugh the scaler in the right resolution to activate 3D Mode?

Have your tried some polarised sunglasses over the top of your nvidia 3d vision glasses, don't laugh :)

You can try the energy saver function on high, this should help cut it down a little bit as well.
Turn cell light to 0 or about 2 or 3
I will have a think of what other methods I used to use to cut it down, I'm sure I posted on here last year on some settings.

To answer your question on the scaler, my opinion would be a scaler would break the checkerboard but I would love for someone to try.

It is a damned shame about the ghosting as I was jazzed to have a TV capable of working with 3d vision. /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

The ghosting on this plasma is believed to be caused by the phosphor decay time that is too long.
These TVs were the 1st tries of Samsung with 3D and the phosphors were not specifically selected to work with stereo3D content, they were just the usual phosphors Samsung used in their standard line of plasmas.

On Panasonic's new 3D plasmas, they use new phosphors designed to react very quickly to suppress ghosting.

I have only in the last couple of months for the first time got the Nvidia test without ghosting.
I was playing around in the registry for size of screen and some of the glasses settings in there, plus a combination of adjusting brightness/contrast/colour settings on both the TV and in the nvidia control panel.
Still believe that Nvidia glasses or drivers do cause some of the ghosting though :)

Hmm when they used this normal phosphor stuff then my hopes are gone that the ghosting will disappear in the fututure by tweaking.

@bullripper: are they any chances that you remember wich settings you have changed in the registry? :)

Could there be any chance that the 3D Mode will work with other resolutions like 1280x720 IF samsung would make an firmware update? Or is this bet into the hardware that it will only work with 1024x768 and 1360x768? Maybe if it is an software "problem" maybe we can start a petition so samsung can fix it ... :o

EDIT: Has anybody great popout? Not just 30 cm out off the screen? It where really cool if something is flying out off the screen direct to my face :) Or iss this impossible because of the hardware? :) Sorry for so much questions :(

Yes I've had things come out of the screen a good several feet with this t.v..

I sit about 10 feet away in my living room, and sometimes things appear to
almost reach the coffee table about 2 feet in front of me.

Tom Clancy's Hawx was pretty sweet I recall.. but since I got my DLP projector
I haven't used my t.v in a while.. :( lol
