Yes, the pink/purple, is when they reach the limit of the light wave polarization and start rejecting some of the color. Make sure that the Nvidia Dynamic color range is set correctly, as well as any HDR settings in the TV menu and that you are using the correct HDMI input, if HDR is limited to only some of the inputs. Most displays support it on all inputs now, but it still needs to be implemented correctly. So so confirm that 2D settings are correct, then move onto 3D settings. What type of HDMI cable are you using? Ideally, a 4K HDMI certified cable (8 ft or less) is used for the higher bandwidth signal (HDMI cables have several speed variations).

Whyme466, I'm using a normal cable (short, black) that somebody gave me, not sure what its specs are. I also have a new Belkin 4K 3D ethernet one, in its box, did not try it yet, but I don't think that's relevant here, Lacuna confirmed I have a bad filter, based on the photo I attached) I just wanted to tell you guys that I've now managed to finally test 3D games. I guess what I was doing wrong was that sometimes I did not turn the glasses upside down, and sometimes I was pressing the 3D button on the TV (I had not realised yet that the first 3D option was a fake 3D process, I was assuming somehow that this was a real 3D mode like interlaced, frame-pack or something. Yes, I know, I should have read the manual) Thank you everyone for your kind explanations and guidance! So now I've arranged for the TV to be replaced, but I wonder how many times I'll have to do it, if the problem is widespread... No matter, what's important is that this TV, with your guys' help, has shown me an unexpected side of 3D. I've only known 3D Vision with an ASUS 27' monitor, the one from 2010-2011 with integrated emitter. With this LG TV, I've really been blown away, from the point of view of image quality. 4K 3D in games is out of this world, with the blacks, contrast, color gamut of this TV ... I really have no words. Ok, granted, you cannot really play games exclusively with this setup. There's some input lag, so I would not play shooters with it. There is an insane performance hit as well, of course. Far Cry Primal, Watch Dogs 2, are well below my usual acceptance threshold. (I've only tested with my old 2011 PC Sandy Bridge upgraded to SLI GTX980s, and only the normal EDID override 3D mode, did not try the SBS or TAB modes in the fixes ini which apparently allow lowering the resolution). But for less demanding games like LEGO, especially games playable with a gamepad, wow, what a way to play. It's such a pity that now, when PC hardware finally catches up more or less, TVs will no longer have 3D. Two future versions of Nvidia cards later, in SLI, and this TV with override would be a thing to behold. (same crappy thing happened with laptops a few years ago. When Nvidia came up with awesome hardware allowing laptops to have SLI setups of desktop cards in them, there is not one laptop with 3D!) Who knows, maybe monitors will still evolve a bit, and provide an alternative. For now, if I can manage to exchange the TV and get a good one, I'll be very happy with this purchase. I've watched Jungle Book 3D bluray last night, I could not come back from the experience. I cannot remember the plot, or whether it was yet another Disney garbage for kids. I only remember that I had to pick my jaw off the floor at some point. It's like I've been in some surreal professional safari, like I was there. i've never seen anything like it. Hello guys, I have another question if you don't mind. I've returned the TV and I'm waiting for the replacement end of week. There are people who have faulty FPR filters with 2016 OLEDs. I can't give a percentage, because I mostly did research for LED models. Currently getting a 2016 model LED or OLED with a faulty FPR filter is higher than normal, because there aren't much 2016 models left and I believe that some retailers resells returned TV's or LG repackage and resend them these TVs. Most of the people who bought these TVs doesn't know or doesn't care about 3D, so they will not figure out the 3D issues. If I could afford it, I certainly would buy an OLED model. Only disadvantage is maybe a litle higher input lag. Other than that OLEDs are the best choice for normal and 3D 4K viewing. My advice is to wait for the replacement TV and if there are similar issues, then go for the OLED. Because no one can guarantee that FPR filter will be perfect on the OLED model. But still I believe that getting a good filter with an OLED model is a higher chance.

I hope it will work, the image quality on these TVs is so great compared to any 3D-enabled monitors we currently have, that it's really worth struggling for and wasting time with the returns. If I had not tried this, I would have never known how mind blowing the image can be. I don't think it will totally replace my PC+monitor main setup, but for games with good performance it's totally doable, and the quality is incomparably better. I bought a PS4 Pro because I wanted to test 3D Blurays, and that was a big disappointment, in the sense that I was somehow expecting the Pro to ensure 60 fps in console games. I wanted to play games I was missing out on, like Horizon, or Uncharted 4, but I could not believe it when I realised that these games are still playing at 30 fps even after receiving PS4 Pro patches. I cannot accept 30 fps in gaming, so I will probably mostly use my console for 3D Blurays (and for my secret passion for baseball, MLB The Show received a 60 fps patch). But this type of TV, coupled with a good modern PC, with certain games which can reach 60 fps with the override, will probably be the best setup possible for a long while. I just need to get lucky with the filter. And sorry to say, but that's really a stupid problem to have. I mean, if companies cannot even ensure to install a 3D filter properly, then how do they expect to run a business? Wait, I know. They realised it was too tough, and scraped 3D entirely. With OLED TV you must sit near 1,5 meters from TV for good 3D (OLED limitation). With LED - near 1,2 meters (more FOV).

Hi guys, a small update My replacement TV came, the filter is still not perfect, it has a fault shaped as the letter "T" when looking at it from the middle of the sweet spot, but I've been lucky enough that if I move my head just about 10 cm lower from the sweet spot the T-shaped fault disappears totally, and is not displaced in another area. In addition, I think that the faulty area is less "white" than the faulty area of the previous TV, so the crosstalk is minimal. I've tested it with 3D bluray, 3D rips, 3d vision games with override, and the pinnacle of all tests and the very contradiction of the age we're living in - [u]the Trine 2 demo on PS4 Pro[/u] (awesome 3D, on a console of all things. If the industry had supported this and people had seen this, 3D would have entered a golden age). We cannot see anything wrong with it, so I'm gonna keep it. I like it so much, if I had money I would also buy the OLED version. I've discovered another very exciting thing. If I watch my 3D screenshot collection from an external drive hooked to the TV, with the glasses reversed, the pictures are visible. I've wanted forever to show them to friends, but I never thought this possible if they did not have any Nvidia hardware. The only issue is that they are somehow stretched out over an area across the midsection of the screen, not filling the full TV area. There are no settings I can find to solve this. Do you guys have any idea if anything can be done to display them over the whole TV area? That would be so cool and impressive. And anybody with a 3D TV could watch them. Just wanted to mention, in case it helps anyone, I've been using a 3200x1800 custom resolution in some games lately. The drop of in resolution as hardly even noticeable and the fps gain is pretty decent. Works great in games that don't support SLI in particular. 2844x1600 is also an option but the resolution drop is definitely noticeable there.

Yeah, I lose full screen. It's not a big loss and I'm using my 49" TV as a monitor on my desk, so it isn't a problem. I just sit 3 feet back when gaming rather than 3.5-4.
