So get this. I had the white flashes issue popping up from time to time... and it seemed especially bad in Silverfall. The depth would reverse and there was white flashes galore.
So, I hypothesized that perhaps the IR signal was reflecting off of many different surfaces creating a lot of false signals. Well.. I put the transmitter on a black surface and put a small black cardboard box over it to completely occlude the IR light. I then poked a small hole in the box to let a little bit of light through. Bam, no blinking for a couple of hours now in Silverfall.
This is what it looks like. The transmitter is in the box of course. I have not had a single white flash or reversing of depth. :D

Okay, so the most effective way to do it seems to be to just leave a tiny flap of reflective material such as the paper on the inside of the box, instead of having a direct line of sight to the transmitter. The IR signal bounces off that tiny flap and seems to give me a clean enough signal that I don't have any flashes or related anomalies.

Let me know if anyone else has any luck with it.
Please note that it takes some adjustment to get it just right.
I was just thinking, if this helped you out wouldn't that mean that the IR Emitter was creating its own interference from reflected IR?
That is exactly what I figured was happening. My rig is in a corner with white walls around it. It would be ripe for reflecting IR.

I taped a small piece of foil that I cut from a candy wrapper, and that seems to work the best. It takes longer to get it adjusted, but I think that is merely because it is focusing the IR signal a lot more. Well, awesome, no more flashing for moi. Hopefully somebody else has the same luck using this method. The trick is to be patient and get it adjusted just right, and don't forget the foil and to blacken anything that isn't the foil.
A few hours and only once did I get a flash, and that was because I was moving around.
I already posted creating something like this in the official blinking thread, glad to see someone did put it into practice and have success.
I haven't built anything like this yet but was going to due to figuring out I only get the blinking during the daytime not at night time.
Also had same symptoms as yourself.

Okay, working from the theories regarding sunlight and reflection interfering with the signals. I decided to open up some blinds to let a little sunshine through. Lo and behold I start getting flashes whether I am focusing the beam or not. I put a small piece of paper over the receiver of the glasses to increases the sensitivity threshold and the flashes went away as predicted. Even with some sunlight in the room I am now getting no flashing.

So... every once in a blue moon I still get a white flash. It isn't a big deal, but I am wondering how I might quash the flashes completely. In any case, I am going to be running some tests on the on integrated components to see if it makes any difference. I wonder if things are getting congested at one of the bridges. I'll try disabling the nics first, then perhaps sound.

No effect... hmm. I would like to try the technique that includes upping pci-e voltage and increasing pci-frequency, but I have no option for pci-e voltage and upping the frequency made my drives not work.

Focussing the signal this way might help with interference, although interference of this kind should also be handled by some sort of protocol between the glasses and the emitter.
But I don't think you would fix anything regarding depth reversal this way, because the perceived depth results from the way the images are rendered on your screen, not from anything on the glasses. If you "see" reversed depth, then the glasses still work but the way the z-information is interpreted by the 3d vision driver is somehow borked, resulting in a wrong stereoscopic image. Or am I reading "reversed depth" wrong?

Oh, the depth reverses from the glasses accidentally reversing sync. Basically, the glasses mess up a little just before they resync correctly.

Oh, the depth reverses from the glasses accidentally reversing sync. Basically, the glasses mess up a little just before they resync correctly.
