Issue: parallax/separation decreasing as ojects move toward sides of screen.
Anyone notice this problem where there is a sizable change in separation as things get closer to the edges of the screen effecting their 3D positions and sizes? Its really annoying at higher FOVs. Its also very annoying when combined with an older 2D problem, that being how objects get bigger near the sides of the screen due to the way things are rendered on the 2D plane. I know there are some 3rd party programs attached to commercial hardware/software that fix this, but I wish Nvidia created a setting to diminish this effect when using higher FOV with bigger screens.

In my experience, this generally happens to objects that are close to camera - therefore it makes sense they have less separation, as they're closer. I've not noticed it with objects that are far away but to the side of the camera.

I'm thinking that this is the natural 'fisheye" effect of having a higher FOV than what the display has bits so the rescaling is compressing the edges more than the center. If you turn off 3DVision and stand in one place and turn the camera I'll bet you'll notice the effect on a 2D screen as well.

Yeah, I've been complaining about that ever since I got 3D vision. Happens with sleeping dogs in the cutscenes, Street Fighter games in the huds, and most other games with the huds. I've seen some registry entries that maybe use to be active where Ctrl F9 or Ctrl F10 could fix that but I don't think they work anymore. So much toggling and so many problems that I don't even use the 3D glasses anymore :(

Turns out it is the image stretch alone causing all that mess. I measure the separation with a ruler and it stays the same whether in the center of the screen or the side. http://www.3dvisionlive.com/ugc/25424/image-stretch-3d I've been wanting a solution to the image stretch problem for a lot longer than i've been using 3D, but this quite literally adds a whole new dimension to the problem. It really messes up the dimensions of the scene as you can see. I've had some programmers explain how it works in the past, some saying the effect is "technically" correct since thats simply what happens when you rotate a 2D plan across a 3d world. BUT, it is only correct when staring exactly at the center of the screen and your in-game FOV = your FOV to your screen. Even then, it is im guessing meant to orient to center, for a single 2D picture.
