No, if your CPU was the issue you'd be getting bad performance in 2D as well which you have already stated isn't the case.

3D only usually adds extra demand on your GPU. As I said, for MW1 you need to turn off AA, then it'll run fine on a 260 in 3D.
No, if your CPU was the issue you'd be getting bad performance in 2D as well which you have already stated isn't the case.

That makes no sense, you always get a performance improvement when disabling AA. Are you running the latest drivers? Are you sure AA isn't being forced?

You should be able to tell visually if a game has AA enabled or not.
