yes searching would have shown that new 3d tv's are a poor value for PC gaming.. its new tech that does not improve anything over DLP.

Intel I7 920 overclocked to 4ghz

Asus Rampage Extreme II

2 Ge-force 480 in SLI

GTX 295 PhysX Card

12gb ddr3 2000mhz ram

Intel SSD in RAID 0

BR RW

1000w Sony surround sound

NVIDIA 3D Vision



3d displays tested:



Mitsubishi 65" DLP 3d HDTV (good old 1080p checkerboard since 2007!!!)

Panasonic VT25 (nice 2d but I returned it due to cross talk)

Acer H5360 720p on 130" screen (the best 3d)

23" Acer LCD monitor (horrible cross talk- sold it)

Samsung 65D8000

Picture quality of Panasonic plasma is much better than Mitsubishi DLP for both normal computer use and 3D gaming. Granted DLP resolution is higher but otherwise vastly inferior picture and viewing angle. I use a 60" Mitsubishi DLP as my gaming monitor.

its a great set in 2d- but what about all the users complaining about ghosting (avs forums)? I have never seen ghosting on my DLP ever at max depth in any game. is the plasma premium really worth an extra 3000$K or so? especially since its only 720p and will be obsolete in the very near future? I noticed a big increase in PQ by calibrating my DLP over factory. I also tried the v25 plasma and was not impressed enough with the PQ and ghosting to keep it.
