DirectX 12

Now that DirectX 12 has been confirmed, is there a chance it could bring back stereoscopic 3d that wasn't available with DX11?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIbEj1CIpuU [Microft as Agent Anderson / Consumers as Neo] They basically said yea, its going to happen. Doubt anyone is moving off Windows 7-8 in next 5 years so it doesnt matter when they plan to push next OS. Hell if next OS is garbage it will be skipped by general public all together. 11.1 has no games as an example and probably never will unless microsoft sponsors games for pc.

If the Xbox One doesn't support DX12, why would any developer bother with it? Isn't DirectX compatibility one of the biggest factors in PC-Xbone ports?

Will require upgrade to the new Windows 9, code named "Want More Money", with the new user interface that ALSO looks like Windows 3.1, this time inspired by the user interfaces of certain underwater exploration platforms.

46" Samsung ES7500 3DTV (checkerboard, high FOV as desktop monitor, highly recommend!) - Metro 2033 3D PNG screens - Metro LL filter realism mod - Flugan's Deus Ex:HR Depth changers - Nvidia tech support online form - Nvidia support: 1-800-797-6530

I'm pretty sure DX support is partly hardware based, but not absolutely certain.

The word on the street is that they "borrowed" some of the best ideas from AMD's Mantle, which would be great for Nvidia users who would otherwise be excluded from those advancements

And that Mantle like instructions are only possible on PS4 because of this. So by incorporating them into DX, Xbox One could have these instructions while still using DX.
I'm pretty sure DX support is partly hardware based, but not absolutely certain.
In past releases of DX, yes there has been older hardware that is incompatible, but the norm has usually been the current gen of available cards is compatible, which should certainly include the chipsets in the just-released XB1 and PS4

wait..85% of the games are still using DX9 and we are talking about DX12 ??? I know DX10 was a "migration phase" from DX9 to DX 11 but still... DirectX version as OpenGL version is not only a "software"... Is also (pretty much hardware)... For example... No matter how much I tell my "game" to use tessellation on a GT 9800 card...it will not do it since there aren't any hardware tessellation units on it.. If Xbox One doesn;t have the hardware to push DX12 instructions we will be stuck with DX11 (like we were until now with DX9 cause of Xbox360) I still think that in the future Linux will be the way to go...but time will tell ofc;)) I really like DX11..but I find that OpenGL is doing alot of stuff better (and alot of stuff also worst due to a huge amount of compatibility layers and so on) If we get automatic stereo 3D support in DX12? well that's "problematic". UDK already has several iterations that support stereo 3D. How many games actually have it enabled? or how many game devs actually bothered to do it... OpenGL Quad-Buffering is out there for AGES...how many games use it? (one: Doom3 BFG from what I am aware of) So, draw your own conclusions... Overall.. I don't think DX12 will solve anything (in comparison with the present)

I've never seen a UDK game that has support and I've seen ALOT. I've seen games with dynamic crosshairs but not 3D support. UE3 "can". I have no idea on what policy aka "payment plan" that is but I've only seen support on multiplatform titles that exceed/equal $50. I have no idea, the reasoning behind this is Epic software uses it for developers to leverage 3D vision support/Nvidia features = $ from nvidia probably. Its all hearsay since 11.1 was DOA but supposedly Direct X 11.1 makes it easier to add renderer 3d support. So will direct x 12 in so facto support that kind of option [if it even does]? I have no idea. Regardless, your still asking a developer to go an extra mile. When they really don't want to be bothered. ------------ I disagree that direct x 12 is reliant on xbox one and I really doubt that xbox one is looking to change when it has trouble enough with hardware system built around 11. Back to the point, its more reliant on Nvidia/AMD. Look at the history of direct x 11 games. It had nothing to do with consoles but more to do with sponsorship. Direct X 12 relies on adoption of the next OS. If it is high enough, nvidia/amd [possibly I have no idea with those whole mantle situation... tbh it seems too lucractive to be sustainable] will adopt it into the sponsorship requirements.
