I am not a big fan of the art style in the game but I see there is a config tool out there that allows you to remove the black cel-shaded outlines in the game. Not only that, but I read that it even improves performance. I am seriously thinking of buying this game now that I hear it works well in 3D. I always wanted a first person Diablo-type game. I wish there was a fantasy game like this somewhere.

Well I finally broke down and picked up the game. One of the first things I did after installing it and patching it up to the latest version is run the config editor program someone made for this game, which can be found here Borderlands Config Editor. I disabled the outline shader, enabled motion blur, and enabled fog volumes for instance. The game runs great and it looks a lot better to me with the outline shader removed IMHO. Kudos to Gearbox for patching the game up to make it a great experience for us 3D Vision users. Been playing the Siren and she is a blast so far. I love the humor in this game! Here are a couple screenshots from the game.

Fun with bouncing bettie grenades:

This makes me jump sometimes when Skags do this:

Ok got it: found the source of general protection fault. It wasn't the config utility....Wow this was evil.

What happened: I was playin on a public server I hosted, then something happened to my internet connection, then gamespy threw me out of my game. Then , as I was getting beaten and can't interact (the game was still running ) I just pressed alt+f4.

Next time the game crashes on player selection screen.

Solution: messed up savegame, 0byte savegame actually ( character is lost) . So , I dont suggest using ALT F4, ever, besides, make yourself a favour and backup your characters guys ... Seems like you can backup your characters whenever you want , and go back in time whenever, absolutely wortth it. Im goin to make a backup every 2 levels now.

Wow, what a fun and addictive game. I just spent almost 6 hours of playing this nearly nonstop and it seems like time hasn't gone by much at all. Even though the shadows can be a little troublesome at times, I find the game to be nearly flawless in 3D. I just got done with an inside area looking for a key in a safehouse and man, how cool that was playing through it in 3D!

Sometimes it's tough deciding on what weapons to use with all the variety there is in the game. I admit that I like the ones with the cool effects even if it is not the best one I can use for that type. Watching bandits die like this and listening to their hilarious comments never gets old.

-you definately should play in coop some bossfights will be hard without coop if not impossible. (half the fun !!!) I used to meet good guys, and if you have the good mate, man, thats EPIC. 2 players is enough most of the time, I think 2 players is the best.
-you can kick ppl anyway, once you are the host, I kick high level guys instantly, but naming the server can help to deter too, name the server in an informative way, like: continent ("europe", "northA" etc) , lvl requirment ( "LVL only 25 +-2" ) .
-they implemented an useful friend system inside the game, so you can make friends with someone and see if guy is online later on, and invite , or they can invite you ! ;)
-there are some tactics that can be only done in coop. Im my siren play, I got an SMG that was very very effective upclose shooting the head. (shoots 4 bullets at once, CRIT hard to miss /haha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':haha:' /> ), but uneffective long range - spreads like shotgun. The sniper guy draws enemy attention, I got up close while phasewalk , and hide behind a cover ( 3rd person view helped a lot). When the enemy started to close on him( not even noticing me), I got out of cover and you can imagine the rest. If theres problem , you can enter phasewalk again and escape . ;) We beat enemy higher lvl than us this way. It was awesome. Its like the future of gaming for me.
-3rd person mod only works if you are the host!

The shadow issue at the safehouse is unique and it never comes back . SPOILER: IDK how you goin to deal with Sledge alone, and elemental weapons are the best for some uses ;) Don't forget the ragdoll either :)

Personally I love Scooter's voice acting ;)

...man , as cheap Starcraft2 sounds ( Sounds like this imho ) , Borderlands is as COOL . Gearbox made something so good, its unbelievable. Terribly underrated. But they don't care, sequel comes, and a new DLC is just around the corner .

This is giving back my faith in game industry, just like mass effect does ;)

FYI , If there was no mass effect, Im not here today ,thats for sure , Im sooo glad.

Steam update today, Borderlands now supports achievements heheh. I always wondered why we couldn't see them as we accomplished them.....seems like they're not retroactively recognized though sadly. :(
