Hello,
I'm new to 3D Vision and came across this program which looks very promising.
Unfortunately I was not able to get Side By Side for any of my games going after installing the 3D fixes.
I use Steam and would specifically like to play The Witcher 3 in SBS. I also tried using older fixes and changing the display mode by pressing F11 after changing the ini file as it says in the description, but nothing worked. I also tried Outcast SC and The Wolf Among Us with the same result.
3D projectors are probably supported since it even has an own profile with preset SBS, so I'd think this wasn't it. Games with actual Nvidia Vision support (like Rise of the Tomb Raider) work fine for me.
Am I doing something fundamentally wrong?

Seems like im having the same problem as you, although i cant get any game to launch in SBS. Did you get it to work ? or any help would be greatly appreciated

Don't know why it doesn't work for you.
Does it both not work both when installing the fix manually and automatically?
Please try the following steps (I show it on the basis of The Witcher 3 but the procedure is identical for other 3dmigoto fixed games). Let's begin from scratch:
[olist]
[.]Select "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" in the game list[/.]
[.]Go to "Installation" tab[/.]
[.]If the fix is already installed click on "Uninstall 3D Fix" button[/.]
[.]Click on "Install 3D Fix" button[/.]
[.]A dialog appears asking you to restore hotkey backups if any are available. Click on "No"[/.]
[.]A dialog appears asking you to update 3dmigoto to 1.3.11. Click on "Yes"[/.]
[.]Go to "Hotkeys" tab[/.]
[.]Scroll down a little bit to section "General Ini Settings"[/.]
[.]Activate "Enable alternative 3D format"[/.]
[.]Choose "Side by Side" from the list[/.]
[.]Activate "Enable Software Mouse Cursor"[/.]
[.]Click on the "Save" button in the lower right corner[/.]
[.]Go back to "Installation" tab[/.]
[.]Click on button "Play 3D"[/.]
[.]Side by Side should now be active[/.]
[/olist]
Please let me know if this helped.
A little note: SBS is not supported for all games. Keep that in mind! It's only supported for DirectX 11 games using 3dmigoto. In "Hotkeys" tab you can see if a game uses DirectX 11 / 3dmigoto when looking at "Fix Type". DirectX 9 fixed games don't run in Side By Side.

Hi Tim,
yes, it's a bug! Thx for reporting! It's a long time ago that I tested to add local icons. So I think the bug exists for a longer time? Will be fixed in version 1.58.

Thank a lot for such an amazing tool!
May I humbly request a feature?
I want to download all the fixes for all the games in the catalog, just in case some of them will become unavailable in future and because I'm a hoarder.
Clicking games one by one takes a lot of time, is it possible to add button "Download all"?
Thank a lot for such an amazing tool!

Actually I don't see a problem for implementing a feature like this but I don't know if there is a traffic limit on hexlimod's servers. But my assumption is that not many people will use this feature and also our community is small. I will ask Bo3b / Darkstarsword but in my opion I don't see any issues.

Hi Tim!
How did you exactly trigger that bug? I tried but I failed xD. But your screenshot clearly tells me that it is somehow possible.
For testing this I did the following steps (please tell me if you did something different):
[olist]
[.]I downloaded the old version 1.57 and started it[/.]
[.]The update dialog appeared but with normal sized GUI[/.]
[.]I canceled the update and switched to compact sized GUI[/.]
[.]I closed the applation and started it again[/.]

I am closing the application, always in compact mode.
therefore, the application always starts in the compact size GUI.
These are my settings.

the same thing happened in today's update. the only difference is switched back to normal GUI size after the update process is completed.

My guess; the program's opening speed affects the gui's readjustment.
Good point, that might be the reason.
Now I've added an "await" command right after the function for resizing the window is called. This should force a refresh of the GUI before the update dialog is shown.
I remember that I had a similar issue with the program updater - after it finished updating the program I wanted that a text is shown "Update complete - starting 3D Fix Manager" but it was not shown. After adding the await-command the GUI was refreshed and the text was shown. I hope this trick will also fix your issue.
Could you try if this version fixed your issue, please? http://fixmanager.rentus.de/downloads/fix_manager_1.58_fixed_Gui_Size_Bug.zip

Btw when looking at your screenshot with the settings may I ask why you disabled "Optimize Game Settings for Stereo 3D"?
I'm just curious if you experienced any bugs with that feature or you simply want to configure the game settings yourself / keep complete control of this.
The idea behind this feature was that the app configures only those settings for games which should be really optimized for Stereo 3D in my opinion which in general is disabling Motion Blur and Depth of Field. I'm not quite sure if everybody shares my opinion but I don't like Motion Blur in 3D. It's very tyring for the eyes and distracting (if it's not broken anyway). And Depth of Field often ruins the 3D effect.
Additional I look in the requirements of the fix if the shaderhacker suggests to set e.g. shadows to "high" to make the fix work. I automate this as it has to be done anyway.
The other thing I often configure in the fix profiles is that Anisotropic Filtering is automatically set to 16x. I don't see a reason why not because it doesn't affect performance.
In addition I sometimes add other optimizations like disabling Mouse Smoothing - this feature only adds mouse lag and often causes stuttering in Stereo 3D mode. So when possible I configure to automatically disable this. Another thing is the FPS cap in Unreal Engine 3 games. There are very many games which cap this to 62 fps because their developers hate the PC plattform. I remove this cap for 2D mode as we all have a 120-165 hz monitor and want to play with high framerates.
Of course I could also add additional optimizations for graphics settings but those would only match to my system specs or my liking and wouldn't match for other people so I don't do this. It only configures the games automatically right to the extent that 3D works and everyone can enjoy it without issues.

Hi Paul,
Again, thanks for the amazing utility.
I can't remember if this has been raised before as an issue, but I've been playing one game (Subnautica) and I just moved it from one Steam library to another on a different disk.
When I started 3d fix manager again I encountered the following error:
12/11/2018 00:18:55:
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Subnautica\Subnautica.exe
at System.Diagnostics.FileVersionInfo.GetVersionInfo(String fileName)

at FixManager.MainWindow.myWindow_ContentRendered(Object sender, EventArgs e) in C:\Users\Markus Guendert\Documents\Visual Studio 2015\Projects\3D Fix Manager\Main Program\WpfApplication3\MainWindow.xaml.cs:line 229
I wonder if uninstalling a game would cause the same issue? It did render the application unusable as it came up with installation failed on all the games I browsed.
In any case, I worked around it by disabling the cache at statup and forcing it to scan for games again. I seem to remember there is a shortcut/hotkey for forcing it to check the folders again but I can't remember what it is.

I found a minor error.
when first time I open the program, update takes place on the small screen. Progress bar does not appear.

How did you exactly trigger that bug? I tried but I failed xD. But your screenshot clearly tells me that it is somehow possible.
For testing this I did the following steps (please tell me if you did something different):

therefore, the application always starts in the compact size GUI.
These are my settings.
the same thing happened in today's update. the only difference is switched back to normal GUI size after the update process is completed.
My guess; the program's opening speed affects the gui's readjustment.

I wonder if uninstalling a game would cause the same issue? It did render the application unusable as it came up with installation failed on all the games I browsed.
In any case, I worked around it by disabling the cache at statup and forcing it to scan for games again. I seem to remember there is a shortcut/hotkey for forcing it to check the folders again but I can't remember what it is.
