Sweet! For the most part, I am happy with my Acer H5360. I also have one of the last year of Samsung DLP RPTVs before they went out of production completely. I'm very satisfied with that set too.

Now TI needs to refine the DLP tech a little to maybe up the contrast ratio a bit (make blacks look more black instead of dark grey) and reduce the rainbow effect a little more on the front projectors (even though I barely see it and have to really shift my eyes around to see it most of the time).

hard to believe that good old DLP is still king for 3d- and its way cheaper too! Amazing.

System:

Intel I7 920 overclocked to 4ghz

Asus Rampage Extreme II

2 Ge-force 480 in SLI

GTX 295 PhysX Card

12gb ddr3 2000mhz ram

Intel SSD in RAID 0

1000w Sony surround sound

NVIDIA 3D Vision

3d displays tested:

Mitsubishi 65" DLP 3d HDTV (good old 1080p checkerboard since 2007!!!)

Panasonic VT25 (nice 2d but I returned it due to cross talk)

Acer H5360 720p on 130" screen (the best 3d)

23" Acer LCD monitor (horrible cross talk- sold it)

Samsung 65D8000

Is true 1080P 3d supported with DLP yet? Previously, it was only checkerboard mode which provided somewhat of lesser actual resolution (at least on 1.3 HDMI devices), even though it looks effectively 1080p

as far I'm concerned, static resolution not really counts , percieved (motion) resolution counts.

There are some professional projectors and if we had hacker community we'd already have it, but I'm not concerned , havin bigger problem with on-off contrast myself I want to solve.

Perhaps you should relax your screen size expectations a bit then! You gain brightness and you can slit closer! /wave.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Very nice. But, imho, the future of 3D Vision is in the screen technology where you are not forced to wear the uncomfortable glasses that also make the scene darker, and you're not forced to turn off game effects, otherwise, 2D still wins.

I like the perceptual depth in pc games. Let's hope that budget advances 3D technology further and better before 2015. 3D is ok, not too bad now, but has a long way to go yet. The shutter glasses, anaglyph glasses have to go.

Nippon Ricoh jumps in with mere 2 billion :
Earlier this year, the Ricoh Company announced that they were launching a projection systems business with the goal of achieving sales of 150 billion yen (nearly $1.8 billion) in FY2015.
exciting times! Laser is rather relevant both autostereo and military grade 3d / VR.
