The problem is that ppl are getting FPS in the triple digits in 2D with beastly, often multi-GPU rigs, but in 3D the framerates are sometimes barely playable. Rather than 3D cutting FPS in half, as is what happens in almost every game, it's cut more like 1/4 or 1/3 the FPS, at best. Yes, the game has some pretty awesome graphics, physics and large 64 player matches, but its nothing these powerful rigs shouldnt be able to handle, 3D or not. The game doesnt utilize the hardware properly, therefore there is MUCh reason to complain.

I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned, but if you go into the registry and disable "StereoVisionConfirmed", which let's the Nvidia driver do the rendering, the FPS increase is fairly drastic. Though there are alot of things rendered at the wrong depth. I'm just curious as to why moving a few rays and pixels to different depths would take such a hit on performance with the Frostbite renderings.

To me this game is almost unplayable in 3D. The overall performance is too low in 3D and the texture flickering in SLI on some maps, which will probably never get fixed, drives me crazy.
Perhaps a custom technical approach like in Crysis 2 would have been better for this game, rather than native dual rendering.

for some reason this game doesn't run in 3d anymore!? i am using the steam version, the ingame setting is 1920x1080 @ 119.98... wtf?
i tried setting 3d always on but when i go ingame the 3d is off.
Yes, you guys are correct. The GPU utilization is very lackluster (to my surprise). I'm now running a GTX 690 (which should absolutely handle this game) and it is running no faster than my older GTX 590 in 3D mode (with ULTRA set).
Some maps drop significantly (20fps) like Gulf of Oman (after all buildings have been broken down) or even the new CQ map Operation 925 with so many papers and furniture bits flying everywhere.

I've been switching between my 46" 3DTV using Tridef software and my 27" Asus using 3DTV Play and i noticed that Tridef has full depth when using the helicopter, the jet, in the menu and end-of-game [obnoxiously long were you can't chat /down.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />] stats screen with all the smoke in the background and the death screens [with your hand reaching up]. Not sure about the tanks, since i only blow them up and don't drive them. I read that for tanks it was intentional for it to be flat, or mostly flat, to represent how the real thing operates. I felt that having true 3D in these additional was a pretty huge benefit and i wanted to make sure you all know about it since i didn't catch on to the missing depth, even while riding in choppers, until i switched over to Tridef. Flying jets especially benefits from the added depth. The dimensionality of the 3d effect in terms of how life-like it looks is better in general on the 46" using Tridef, but I think thats just due to the larger screen and possibly due to just only having switched to it, in this game. This isnt a Tridef vs Nvidia post, as if it were, i'd mention that with Tridef, icons are all rendered at screen depth making for a large number of accidental tk's......./confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />......and sights are in 2D and the laser sight doesn't even work. I did however want to let you know what your missing, since we could all submit support tickets, which i think is the only avenue for change with Nvidia.
This all assumes anyone is playing the game still, the server population seems very very low for a BF game.

Yep, i created a user.cfg file and messed with those settings, which you can do in game to. Again, just those mode which i mentioned lacked depth. When running around on foot, the 3D was normal.
Are you saying you have full depth when in the air? It may be hard to tell, i didn't even notice until i switched over to my 46" using Tridef.

I'm late to the party on this, but the lack of 3D support on BF4 (wtf, same engine) made me take a look at the single player BF3 with unlocked convergence
WOW - this is worth the price of the whole 3D Vision kit
I'm so entertained but at the same time, I have to take breaks 'cause it's a little TOO intense. I think we've reached the level of realism where games could start to give us PTSD

Yes, you guys are correct. The GPU utilization is very lackluster (to my surprise). I'm now running a GTX 690 (which should absolutely handle this game) and it is running no faster than my older GTX 590 in 3D mode (with ULTRA set).

The last one is so that I can always see the frames per second. I play 2 meters away from a big 80 inch projection screen, for instance, but if I had a monitor I suppose my setings would be different.
