Well it looks like that 32bit version issues are true which means I got to stop unless they fix it. Game freezes at beginning of second chapter not to mention various other issues [Ive had a few crashes, at the time I blamed debugger but I kind of doubt it now] http://steamcommunity.com/app/238320/discussions/0/846963710883503643/ http://steamcommunity.com/app/238320/discussions/0/846963710888304105/ http://steamcommunity.com/app/238320/discussions/0/846963710889516538/ Also notes say this Additional Notes: * 32 bits systems are not officially supported Someone pm me if they fix it in an update. Cant work on 64 bit version. I cant imagine them not supporting 32bit all together even though they said it [not sure if that was just added].

That's a damn shame. Would it be worth posting what you've got so far, so someone else might be able to pick it up?

Thats a bad idea. Me posting my files wont make the game's 32bit version unbugged. Also I didnt fix too much, I mainly just played to see if I ran into game issues. It freezes for me... and everyone else. Not to mention it took 5 minutes to load to first chapter for me with 32bit vers. It has nothing to do with modding. It needs to be fixed by developer. As it stands the 32bit version of the game is not able to be used, developers themselves kind of say so. Need to wait, game has been out for less the 12hrs.

Sure, but the vast majority of us are running 64. I've not tried it yet (still downloading), but would a fix not work on both versions?

No I have Win 7 x64 OS BUT I have to run 32bit. All DX9 injectors are 32 bit as far as I know. No idea about DX11.

Just bought this now on Steam, only $20 too! Can't wait for a 3Dfix to add to the immersion, its rated as the scariest game of all time! Hell is an experiment you can't survive in Outlast, a first-person survival horror game developed by veterans of some of the biggest game franchises in history. As investigative journalist Miles Upshur, explore Mount Massive Asylum and try to survive long enough to discover its terrible secret... if you dare.

How is the game on the system by the way ? Is it heavy and if some body could tell the VRAM usage as well because most of the time i get VRAM limited on my 580 when I crank up the settings :( :(

Yeah I hope it's fixable as it's a shame to play a great horror game in 2D. I will try to hold on for a fix if I can as I have waited for this one since the day it was mentioned in the spring so it's damn hard to wait and maybe play this in 3D will be to scary LOL. But great you guys are trying so keep up the good work and best of wishes.

Just played for just a few minutes and judging from that alone, this game is going to be absolutely terrific and horrifying. This game really really needs to be played in proper 3D though. It would add so much more immersion to an already immersive and impressive game. This is all just from a a few minutes of gameplay though, but if the game continues to as awesome than what I just played, this will definitely be one of the best games in a long time. I'm just so tired of all the shooters and hack'n slash games, most of which are pretty much clones of themselves with nothing new or interesting to offer, so this is definitely something refreshing and it also seems to be very well made with good graphics, atmosphere and gameplay. Hopefully this will be succesfull enough that we would be getting more of these types of games in the future. Luckily there's Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs coming out soon as well, so we'll have at least two good quality horror games to play. Sadly Amnesia is an OpenGL game so 3D support is pretty much out, but hopefully this game can be fixed (and hopefully soon because I can't wait to play this game further, maybe I'll first play it in 2D and if a 3D patch comes up, I'll play it again in glorious 3D, though with games like these the first play through is mostly the most immersive and impressive, as with the second play through, you pretty much know what's going to happen, so I'll try to keep my self from playing this until we (hopefully) get a 3D fix.

They just released a patch which should solve some of the crashing issues. Maybe it will help? Also, it does say: "32 bits systems are not officially supported, but should work if configured to provide 3Gb of user-mode address space. " Maybe increasing virtual memory would help?

I did quick adaptation of UE3 script for this game to test x64 version of dll. The game still may has issues. Download this archive. And unpack it to "\SteamApps\common\Outlast\Binaries" when it ask to replace Win32/win64 folders chose "yes". Keys: Key 1 - changing presets. Key 2 hold - low preset. Key 3 - changing camera UI presets. It works for both win32/win64(test version) .
