Chopper: There are some issues with Call of Duty 2 - nothing serious. The menus and transition screens go wierd - but the game runs well.
I can't play Klingon Academy for more than 10 seconds before getting a reboot of my computer.
:magic: Great to hear we are getting a new driver. I sure hope they get the bugs with Klingon Academy worked out.
No secret, it has always worked with every driver for me. Do you have the 1.02 patch? http://www.fileplanet.com/57224/50000/file...1.02-Patch-(US) Hope you can get it to work, it is awesome in 3D.
I'm not running in compatability mode or anything fancy, it just hasn't been one of my problem games in 3D. I just played through containment in 3D I also use voice command on this game because there is just too much keyboard action for me. With voice command stereoscopic 3D and force feedback joystick, this is about as real as it gets. To bad the AI captain’s main tactic is to collide with your ship. What chipset does your motherboard have? Can you run KA without the stereo driver?

AMD 3200+ (Socket 754)
1GB RAM
MSI Motherboard (MS-7184 I THink, ATI RS480 chipset)
AC '97 (though my wife recently bought me an XFI XTREMEMUSIC online)
6800GS 256MB PCIE
I'm really surprised your able to run all that under XP with KA - KA has a reputation for giving problems in XP.
What is "containment"?
The game runs without the stereo driver - but it's a bit choppy. When I ran it with the current driver in NT compatibility mode without stereo, it ran ok.

That probably explains why I'm not having a problem, I'm running XP with a FAT32 partition because of some old sound editing software I use that doesn't run well in NTFS. If I recall I used a backup hard drive, formated to FAT32 to install this game when I had NTFS on C: and it ran well in XP. Containment is a chapter of the game, I think the first.
As you do not have Doom 3, would you happen to have Quake 4?
I think he tried the Doom3 demo with no problems, I'm thinking if the demo works there is a good chance they fixed it. I hope so I havn't played Doom3 for a long time.

Quake 4 is a popular game, I'm sure they will fix it up by release time.

Antialiasing? Anything?
Compatibility mode?
I think the stereo drivers are just too buggy.
I have the 1.02 patch.

If so, could you confirm whether it still has an unplayable slowdown when stereo is enabled?
This problem only arose in the last couple of stereo driver releases. It's real slideshow material, not the usual 50-75% performance... more like 10%.
Thanks for your time spent testing for us.

I'm sorry to report that the Quake 4 demo was very slow in stereo. I even tried it at 1024 X 768, no antialiasing, no shadows...no luck.
Also, whenever I got out of the game, my computer would need to be immediately rebooted.
Really slow and chunky.
Looked good, though.
As this is a Beta release, and NVIDIA told me they already have another BETA version, I think there is still hope.
I find the ID games have a shadow and artifact problem in stereo. In normal mode, they're fine, in stereo, I getting flashing black patterns.
I don't have this in any other GPU intensive games though. BF2, Fear, COD 2, no problems.
I was concerned it was an overclocking issue, but when the games run in normal mode for lengthy periods, NO PROBLEMS. I think it's all driver related.
Keep your spirits up,
Chopper
