This game is absolutely AMAZING in 3D!!! Why did Nvidia give it a FAIR rating?? With the previous posts i managed to get it working proper, I am glad I did. This game is one of the best 3D games i have played.

I totally agree with the above. It's an eye candy in S3D and absolute fun to play. Just set Physics detail to normal (I also turned post-processing off), enable 3d - all in in-game menu, and you are in for a treat. Increase convergence by nVidia shortcuts to eliminate double imaging too.

Agreed, this game does look good in 3d vision. Problem I'm having is it is stuck at 30fps! Vsync seems to be on twice. Any ideas how to turn it off in games config files?

if you disable the idiot frame limiting (via C:\Users\yourname\Documents\My Games\Alice Madness Returns\AliceGame\Config\AliceEngine.ini) by turning "bSmoothFrameRate" to "False", then the physx will go crazy. Every time alice moves her hair will stand up straight in the air, it looks retarded.

I cannot adjust convergence via in-game keys (the :shortcut: setting from nvidia control panel). do you do it another way? double imaging is severe in cutscenes, less so in real gameplay, but it's there for me.

btw, the game looks decent in 3D vision, there's just too less 3D depth for my taste, very much like DMC4, looks nice, but the gameworld isn't "3D" enough.

No, I use nVidia default keys (Ctrl-F6 to increase convergence) and it works... Once you are able to do that, the double imaging goes away (some cutscenes will be a bit off though) and 3d world gains depth too. Try disabling/enabling post-processing.

I attach a couple of screenshots - first from a cutscene, second from underwater level in chapter 2 - you can hardly see any ghosting and world depth looks ok to me (I play with 75%) /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

You can also adjust convergence with the dial on the emitter. Just hold down the green light and twist the dial. (If you don't hold down the green light, it will adjust depth.)

Well I'm glad page two of this thread started making sense. I was wondering if the first few posts on page 1 were even talking about this game??? I've been playing Alice since release day and I think it's the best 3D game I've experienced so far. In the opening act in London?? Holy crap!!! Talk about toyification! The convergence is not locked. I'm playing at 100% depth and have convergence cranked up (or down - I don't really know what I'm doing, I just move it until it looks good.)

I'm still in chapter one, but so far the only effect that renders incorrectly is the tar from the "Ruin" group of enemies. That isn't a deal breaker for me. It doesn't affect combat. I haven't tried turning down PhysX because everything else looks so freaking awesome. I honestly don't get the complaints people are making about this game. It deserves at least a "Good" rating by Nvidia.

Now if they would just fix the "3D Ready" Witcher 2 crap.

Hmmm..by the looks of the attached pictures this game looks awesome in 3D Vision. I wonder how it looks in 3D Vision Surround..... Anyone can put up a few screenshots?

Thanks in advance.

Dropping the physx down to medium fixes the 2D effect from the tar and still leaves a lot of cool physx effects overall in the game but I guess it is a matter of what you want to trade off. I just finished Chapter 1 and think the game is pretty good.

According to the Physxinfo.com website, here is what the 3 different levels of physx entails:

http://physxinfo.com/news/5883/gpu-physx-in-alice-madness-returns/

"PhysX High includes all additional GPU PhysX effects, described and showcased above.

PhysX Medium is less demanding for system resources – amount of physical particles is lowered, chunks from destructible objects are disappearing faster, SPH Fluid simulation is disabled.

PhysX Low - basic CPU physics, similar for PC and consoles. Interesting note: physically simulated clothing and hair for Alice are not part of hardware PhysX content, and are not affected by PhysX settings."

As cool as the fluid simulation is, I would rather disable it to keep the 3D effect as good as I can get it.
