3DStereo drivers for 7900GS WinXP need confirmatio Want to buy 7900GS, running WinXP
Hi,
does anybody has nVidia 7900GS with 3DStereo drivers working?
If so, which drivers (versions) are you using?
If not - what whould be your bet - will it work?
I have to buy older nVidia card for my company and we want to test some 3D stuff on that (Z800, iZ3D) and I've run to problems with 8800 GTS on WinXP, wasn't able to get it running (no tricks helped, e.g. different / same driver versions, registry hacks). So now I'm facing the problem to "pick the right card that will do it".

Check my thread, I set up 3D over a year ago and don't remember exactly what I was using: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=32547 Be sure and check in a few pages for instructions on driver setup.
Be sure to try Guru3D.com for their stereo drivers. I think the 162.50 beta is good, or the 171.23_beta_WinXP_32bit drivers with the "162.50 stereo" drivers installed along with it.
You probably will need to copy the string for your video card into the correct place in the inf file, it is pretty straight forward if you have a look in the .inf files.
Go to MTBS3D and try the latest iZ3D 1.09 drivers (shutter or shutter-like HMD support still has some issues due to lack of sync signal), they should work on any card if you still have some 8800GTS.
I had an 8800GTS and was able to follow a tutorial on MTBS3D.com to get stereo (the display flickered like mad and had two images, but I had no shutter glasses or HMD to try it with.) You might try there to see if you can get the proper drivers and setup (I didn't have to remove any pin to get mine working, but I can't remember if DVI worked).

162.50 drivers + 162.50 stereo drivers
Working with Z800 just fine.
