Please move to 285.79 and see if you still have issues.

The beta drivers are a lot better, in that the game is actually playable now, but I still sometimes spawn without a visible gun and it up to a few seconds or so for it to appear. I also had a problem where I tried to go prone but instead my gun just disappeared, but when I moved I was now prone and my gun was back.

This game now looks even more incredible! The 3D is EXCELLENT! Much more depth than Crysis 2 and everything works (sky, ground, water, lighting, shadows, etc.). It takes a performance hit, but I can live with it. Again, I'm using the GTX 590 so I had some fps to spare. Also seems like the issues people are having are with single cards.

What about ghosting?. Please go in a bright open area and look carefully whether you notice a halo around your weapon. Should be more visible if you increase the depth. I turned 3d off because of it, it is troublesome for my eyes to deal with this effect. I feel that if the two images were more precisely alligned, it would be far less bothersome for one's eyes to play in 3d, especially for longer gaming sessions.

Thats most likely your display, not the game.

Well, if you have the convergence unlocked, you can actually play with it and allign the two images so that you bring ghosting to the very minimum. I have 3 Allienware 2310s that are supposed to be 3d vision ready and listed as such on nvidia's website. What would be a ghost-free monitor?

hey photios,

I actually hadn't tried MP until a few minutes ago. Dropped into an unranked server for a bit and 3D Vision worked fine, however, the 3D effects did seem much flatter overall compared to campaign. I didn't get any crashes or weird framerate drops however. I was in there for about 15 minutes just practicing flying for a bit. I also noticed the depth wheel seems to have less impact on separation in MP and is much less responsive, so perhaps its a case where they reduced/locked the allowable depth options in MP compared to SP/Co-Op. Maybe a competitive advantage concern perhaps? Whatever the case, I still got similar performance compared to SP so I probably won't bother playing MP in 3D much at all.

chiz,
Well, I got the game to not crash in 3D Multiplayer and played for about 2 hours straight, so I call that good. Just set my graphics settings on Auto. I think running the game in Ultra is too difficult with this hardware and/or driver itteration and either is not optomized or runs out of resources to allocate. Also framerate on Ultra is just to erratic in 3D even for 2 GTX 590's. I got 60 frames on Auto.

There is ghosting in every 3D application. It's inherent in the design (even passive glasses). The ghosting isn't so bad that it detracts away from the immersion. I'm moving so fast as I can't tell much anyway.

Maybe when they unlock convergence it will be better... but I don't think I've played any game without some sort of ghosting. I played for a bit and noticed some of the zoomed gun sites are a little off but overall it seems very much like BFBC2 as far as 3D effect goes... In this game though, I'd rather play in 3D since I can sneak around a lot more... especially on the big open maps. Some maps I think won't benefit though because of the slower refresh and fast paced nature...

A dlp projector. I have an acer h5360. No ghosting, just 100 inch pure 3d. Btw, I cant get convergence activated in this game (but in all other games). How do I do it?

On the AW2310 you can try reducing Contrast to 45 or lower to help reduce the cross-talk/ghosting. This also completely eliminates the overdrive artifacting (weird burnt colors) you may see near the bottom of your screen.

On desktop LCDs cross-talk/ghosting is always going to be an issue compared to some of the other options out there like DLP/PJs, but those have some trade-offs too when it comes to resolution and 120Hz modes. Always a trade-off in the 3D space atm.

Supposedly the new Asus 27" LCD does a lot better with ghosting/cross-talk however, due to LightBoost and the fact the backlight is synchronized with the glasses for each eye and not always on for both eyes. I know AndrewF has personally commented on improved cross-talk/ghosting on it, but you can read some of the published and user reviews if you want feedback from someone less vested (not to say Andrew's input is unreliable ofc).

I have an acer h5360 and keep getting the "attempt to......" warning in red. I am displaying it in 720 at 120hz so it shouldnt be showing that, Also It is totaly unplayable because of lag. I have a high end pc so this should not be a factor

I use the 27" acer monitors

A bit of ghosting for 1st 5mins or so but then pretty much unnoticable

Re.bf3. As its not a nice smooth gameplay experience I'm shelving it untill some optimisations come along

Anyone know how to set it to dx10 (or dx9) mode ? That my be temp work around

I don't have much doubt it will be sorted hopefully on next nvidia drivers now they can build a part of the driver around 3d use

Turning down details/res & it not making much diference to performance is a big sign that drivers no good ( or software no good or both )

Spec

I7 2600 @ 4.6ghz
2x. Gtx 580's 3gb versions at 940mhz core clock
16gb ram
3x 3d ready 27" acer monitors

All water cooled

Yup, reducing the contrast to 55 really does help quite a bit. There is very slight amounts of ghosting but overall I am quite happy with the monitors performance.

Honestly the light boost thing is kind of ridiculous, at least on this monitor. Why would they think making it brighter while having tons of ghosting was a good idea? Seems like they're not ready for it.

Back on topic though, it does seem like the sights are slightly misaligned behind the object they are intended to be on. I wasn't even sure the sights were working correctly in 3D until i took a closer look but they are indeed like BC2. It's certainly not game breaking but it could be adjusted a little bit. Also the little X that comes up when your shot connects with someone is at screen depth and needs to be inside the screen.
