@Having to Uninstall Mozilla Firefox If you're ok with not using any 3D content in Firefox you can either delete the Mozilla Firefox Profile and then add Firefox.exe to the 3DMark Profile or add the StereoNotSupported Flag to the Mozilla Firefox Profile to disable 3D Vision in either GeForce 3D Profile Manager or NVIDIA Inspector, if you're using DarkStarSword's updated XML.

It's depressing this problem still exists. Everytime a game comes along I want to play in stereo and I have 3D enabled in the nvidia control panel, I start to get BSODs. With 3D Vision disabled I get zero. It's only ever happened in W10, which for some reason powers off the emitter completely (no light) rather than leaving it in power saving mode (dull green light), although I don't know if that's the cause. The BSODs almost always happen on the desktop too and usually relate to using firefox, even though I've removed the nvidia 3D Vision plugins from firefox. Another problem in W10, if you have 3D enabled in the control panel, going fullscreen when watching a Twitch stream in Chrome will trigger the monitor to go into full brightness mode, as if you've launched a 3D game. Leaving fullscreen doesn't reset it though. Also since doing the Skyrim SE fix, my Geforce 3D Profile Manager won't import anything anymore.

DDU + Reinstall driver. The driver is fine. What you get there is something related to your particular setup (which sux, because we can't replicate it or offer additional advice). You'll have to figure this one out by yourself unfortunately:( If Win10 gives you so much trouble, perhaps installing Windows 7 on a different HDD or partition will solve this hassle for you;) I recommend giving that one a try:)

I think this is the same issue many of us have due to the 3D vision emitter light going off. You can check this recent thread if you experience this particular problem: http://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/971868/pc-crash-everytime-i-enable-3d-vision-with-windows-10

I remember a LONG time ago, when Win10 was released I had the same issue, but I can't remember what I've done (except disabling the USB stupid power saver feature, connect the emitter on a USB 3.0 port - blue connector port - and install the ASUS USB 3.0 charger APP ?!?! ). My emitter is always powered (never goes completely DARK). So, this is why I don't have this issue. I don't have a GSYNC module/monitors so maybe this has to do with it? I know there is an option in Windows and one in my BIOS though (But I am using an ASUS MAXIMUS Mobo - which is an overclockers MOBO and has lots of options and tweaks, so maybe this is why I have the BIOS option) Although on my Alienware laptop (with built-in emitter) I don't get this either:-s But maybe is something some OEM magic there as well;) In any case, it is related to the power being cut-off to the USB ports. 100% sure!

Thanks. The thing is the vast majority of my BSODs don't happen when launching a game, so I can't just make sure the emitter is awake. They happen randomly just sat on the desktop, usually while I'm using firefox. I remember I looked up the error in the crash dump once before and it was the 3D Vision plugin for Firefox causing the BSOD. I think somehow 3D is being triggered by Firefox, but the emitter being off is still what's causing the BSOD. I've had the same problem across two installs of W10 with a complete HDD wipe inbetween, so I doubt a driver reinstall/DDU is likely to help, plus I'm sure I tried it before. Seems like the only options are a) don't use stereo b) don't use firefox or c) don't use W10. I gave that util a try to fix the fullscreen video thing, but my screen got stuck in bright mode.
Thanks.

Btw you replied while I was typing helifax, so I didn't see your second post. I've just tried moving the emitter to a USB3 port and I've checked that 'enable the computer to turn off this device' is off for every USB hub. I've also looked through the BIOS for any USB power saving options but there isn't any with this board (MSI Z77A-G43). No luck.

Well powersaving doesn't change anything for me unfortunately as the emitter still goes off. Double checked with other devices to see if any port is powersaving but they're not and I also don't have any powersaving features in my BIOS :( So for the folks here, I recommend disabling 3D vision at all times and only enabled when playing games or watching movies in 3D. The important thing here is that these syshangs and BSODs occur if the emitter light is off and you try to start Firefox or any game or video in 3D and sometimes even when you enable/disable 3D vision in the Control Panel (again while the emitter light is off). So apparently, mostly any program can cause a system crash if the 3D vision emitter was offline at the time lol. The thread I linked in my previous post also includes workarounds for this.

Yeah I guess that's the easiest solution, only enable 3D while gaming.
