Hi
This issue will likely come down to thermals - the 485m was never designed to work with the Dell. We are looking into it, but I dont have warm fuzzy about it.

Well Andrew your statement is confusing, please fill us in. For one people have this 485m installed and the temps are good.
Second if you look at the following Dell.com search link you will see on Dells own site that the 485m is listed as an option under the 2nd result.(Scroll down)
If it was never designed to work with the Dell why would they have it listed there. We all know its not a option to buy at the moment, but clearly it was going to be lauched or will be. Why else would they even change the site text?

It doesn't come down to thermals, I can use 3D over the Mini-DP->Dual Link DVI adapter on the 485 with NO problem, except on the latest drivers that have that feature GIMPED. Maybe the driver is doing a USB HWID check? I don't know, eventually it's going to get to the point where people start to crack open the drivers and remove the limitations that NVIDIA is placing on its own stuff which really is unfortunate.
You allow projectors to be added to your "whitelist"
Add this card with the 3D panel to your whitelist.
It's the same panel that's being used in the Clevo.

I'm not happy with Nvidia, We got fully working 120Hz screen, ''best'' mobile GPU gtx485m ( ingame maximum temp for me at 68*C ), On the website we can read GPU 3D ready
and Surpise.... doesn't work...
It's like they don't know what they made and no support... yep for prove, no driver doesn't work with gtx485m, we need to mod ourself.

I know someone that has a close friend that works at nVidia and from what I hear they are having financial problems. I also heard MS is now buying nvidia so that would back up the hear say. But really this person works in corp and for sure says the company is not stable at the moment. Obviously details were not expressed but that is enough. That would explain alot, and unfortunatly that also means a solution has a much less of a chance of panning out :(

Financial problems? I don't believe it /rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Maybe if they would fix issues like this more people would be inclined to buy their cards. I own over $1500 worth of GTX 580's...Not looking forward to it.
