Nvidia 3D vision kit & VG248QE - Share your experience
I've got a VG248QE and am planning to get the nvidia 3d kit. The kit is a little tough on my wallet, so before I decide for sure I'd like to hear some assurances, warnings, suggestions.
Everyone had various expectations, higher or lower, this and that, but I'd like to hear everything you are willing to share and have time to do so. Especially if you have VG248QE but other people as well.
Here are some questions, feel free to branch out...
-What game or movie did you enjoy most with Nvidia 3D?
-What can't you use the 3D kit for? (3D movies? Certain games?)
-Does the 3D kit support more 3D games than what's on wiki and Nvidia's site? (http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-games.html)
-Does 3D kit include one or two goggles?
-Do you think I could get the kit on discount on somewhere (which ship internationally) on black friday?
-How is the 3D quality on VG248QE compared to other monitors? I don't really know what matters.

If you use the general search button, there are some threads where people list their favorite games.
Nvidia's site doesn't list them all. There are some games rated poorly (good ratings with lousy results and mediocre ratings with great results). It's a decent general guide, but it's not written in stone.
You absolutely must bookmark:

The 3D community, most (all?) of which post here, have fixed a ton of games that were once unplayable and now are amazing.
You only get one pair of glasses.
I think it's fair to assume that everyone that posts in this forum is pretty blown away by 3D Vision and had their expectation met/exceeded. It really is terrible to go back to playing in 2D.

It's just the way we use the word pair though. Pair usually means set (two). But for glasses, we always refer to it as "I left a pair of glasses over at Bob's."

That link is very helpful, thanks Paul.
What's the difference between kit 1 and kit 2?
If I were to get the USB glasses, I wouldn't need the kit and it works just the same, right?
Maybe too many questions, I had more but couldn't find answer to these or needed more input.

Yeah I know that but don't mind me lol. I'm dumb and read the description wrong on nvidia's 3dvision page. Thought the kit came with 2 pairs of glasses ("Complete kit of 3D Vision 2 wireless glasses and 3D Vision USB IR emitter")

I haven't bought the kit yet so my info could be wrong but the difference with 3dvision 1 and 2 is that 2 is more like an improvement. Brighter and less crosstalk maybe? You also need to purchase the kit because your monitor (which is awesome by the way, just got mine 2 days ago) doesn't come with an emitter, unlike some of the more expensive Benq 120/144hz monitors

Glad you like the monitor as well, I love it as well so far, been 10 days now. There's some bleeding but I can only see it when that areas are blank gray.
I thought I wouldn't need the emitter if I used USB glasses. Isn't emitter just what makes the glasses wireless or is it more?

Yes, pyramid emitter, or emitter built into a monitor is just to make the glasses wireless. If you have wired glasses, you don't need one.
3D Vision 2 glasses have larger lenses, but are otherwise identical to 3D Vision 1. They aren't brighter or less crosstalk. There is also a smooth plastic bezel that reflects light on 3D Vision 2, that some people don't like. I use 3D Vision 1 glasses still, and they are great. eqzitara mentioned in a different thread that he very much prefers 3D Vision 2 glasses over all other kinds he's tested.

Well it looks like ASUS actually put a DisplayPort input onto this monitor, as it doesn't suffer from the DVI-only scenario I'm having for full 120+ Hz 3D. If you can get the kit working I'll be jealous of your 3D, and can only wish mine was working. :(
But good luck.

Duke, I don't have a DisplayPort socket on my GTX 560 unfortunately but I will get a new card in the future. Thanks a lot for the encouragement. I hope you can find an efficient solution. (Maybe the problem for you is indeed the adapter no matter the quality?)
Thanks bo3b, it helps. If that's the case with 1st and 2nd version, I could go either way. Just waiting to get a good deal for one of the wired, or either wireless choices.(Good deals are not often in my country :P)
I don't really know how emitter works. Are there any likely scenario problems with wireless glasses? Something like sync issues, IR insufficiency etc?
Whether wireless or wired, I'll get 2 glasses eventually. Any precautions for this? Either 2 glasses 1 emitter "OR" 2 USB glasses setups work fine?

Changing from 60Hz to 144 has been so great for my eyes - I feel them getting healthier every day
The 3D Vision is as rock-solid a 3D solution as I've ever seen
I just wish there was a more cohesive vision about content for 3D Vision owners (some sort of app store) - I feel like I'm kind of swinging in the breeze
