The visionary business decision that Nvidia made years ago was to buy S3D technology and made it available for free for all users who bought its graphic cards, but the time hasn't arrive until this year where S3D momentum appears to reach critical mass in motion picture technology and related industries ie TV/monitor/bluerayplayers etc.
I can understand that now it wants to reap the profit from its decade old investment in S3D driver technology, however I wish it could be a tad more responsive towards its customers' support need.
Currently CD 1.15 is the latest that can detect and work with your Sammy. It will work with Avatar though the frame rate is not optimized.
Console => I don't have console so can't help you there.
I believe Tridef doesn't support 64bit OS, and despite its lack of communication with users Nvidia is a S3D provider that cannot be ignored: I have been putting up with Nvidia's issues for the past 10 years or so because they always have been having a viable solution.
Regardless of how Nvidia treat its customers presently, as a business entity it is driven by profit and I believe it will have to transform itself in near future to maintain its viability in the S3D marketplace.
On a side note, I think as a S3D addict it's best to obtain both Nvidia and iZ3D solutions for now while waiting for AMD/ATI coming out with its own S3D solution.
I have both Nvidia and Tri-Def products the Tridef drivers them self work on Windows 7 64 bit, haven't tried the iz3d drivers recently but the tridef engine works with no fuss. At first they made you buy drivers per game, then they came out with the engine and I have never had the technical issues that the Nvidia glasses give me.
I will say hand down that their 3D movie player is awesome I see so many post about how th 3D movie player doesn't pop. Try the tridef solution for that you would be amazed at watching something like Beowulf which has no 3D Stereo specific features.
The glasses are not comfortable at all though. You can get the Samsung glasses which are better and still come with the tridef software engine.
Tridef also has the best customer support ever I talked to Wayne from the company and got back a techincal email with 1-2 days of each of my questions or concerns. Best service I ever had to be honest it was always quick. They even responded to REQUEST!!!
Nvidia never had resize working either until I convinced Andrew a year ago that it was possible because Tridef started doing it with no problem and he then corrected the drivers for everybody... =)
Tridef has way less headaches but the Nvidia glasses are so much cooler ...

It's good to hear a positive testament about a S3D product. I've looked into Tridef briefly before and because of its official specs stating only DX9 games and 32 bits OS are supported I didn't consider further.
It seems everybody else is having way better customer support than Nvidia's 3DVision product group.
This chronic problem has always been there with its S3D driver and since business has not been good for them in the last 4 quarters I don't see thing will change drastically immediately. Next year budget is around the corner and with some luck, I hope it can see 3DVision product group as a money making entity in order to pour in some more resources ie to hire one more dev, 1 more technical support & forum liaison etc...
The resize function for Sammies was a godsend, good move!

nVidia, Any updates on CRT and Samsung DLP status?
Will it be fixed in the next driver release?
I have the glasses for 3 more weeks before the return date, if they're not going to work. Then there is no need for me to keep them.
I can use 1.15, but I really got them for Avatar and Dragon Age Origins. Need an update or a patch release.
I know. It's f*cking ridiculous... I can understand if it's a bug, but please at least tell us with no uncertainty that it's only a bug and it's being worked on. I know Andrew has said something to lead people to believe it's possible it's just a bug, but it's nothing concrete and honestly actions speak louder than words. There is no fix as of yet... Seems as though it's just not going to happen.

Its been 2 weeks and I've gotten no where when it comes to nVidia customer support.
As result I have just submitted my return order for 3D vision to Tiger Direct.
nVidia, this has been horrible customer service.
I cannot see myself ever recommending this product to anyone and in fact I'll go out of my way to no recommend it.
Putting in an order for TriDef glasses. Lets see how they work out...
ps.
Very frustrated and disgruntaled former customer of all nVidia products.
I'm affected by this as well.. I have a Samsung HL67A750. I've opened a ticket with Nvidia on the issue, and I think everybody else should definitely do the same. They don't appear to be reading these forums so they may not be aware so many are affected.

The CRT and non-Mits DLP (nvidia 3d partner) issue is all the more appalling (appears deliberate) as both Mits and Samsung DLP use exactely the same checkerboard standard, but somehow only Samsung got locked out of recent drivers. This stinks of Nvidia's shoot itself in the head management, like blocking Phyx if ATI graphic is in the system - many ATI owners would have bought a Nvidia card just for Physx and with the plentiful supply of low end Nvidia cards this could be a major source of income in their current time of need and increase developer interest in Physx. But Nvidia chooses to hurt its own technolgy and its broarder development and markets, not to mention consumer goodwill.
How damaging would it be for Nvidia's profits and future viability if ATI owners were buying and being impressed by Nvidia's Physx and 3D Vision technologies?? Similarly, would Nvidia owners be more impressed and satisfied with Nvidia if they could get greater functionality out of their products by opening them to 3rd party software, etc and enhanced industry wide technology development??
In regard to 3d glasses Nvidia currently has one of the best offerings but they restrict it and limit their market, even worse retard their customers use of it by not allowing compatability with other companies hardware and software. How many Tridef and iZ3D customers would like to use Nvidia glasses (at least until RealD Crystaleyes 4 and new Xpand glasses are released). Is the Samsung DLP fiasco a coincidence or is Nvidia stupidly trying to punish Samsung because they are going with Tridef like every other major display manufacturer because it is a superior 3D package, despite Samsung supplying the first 10000 3D monitors by contract to Nvidia, again specified by Nvidia to only work with 3D Vision leaving those who bought these facing a very large hole in the current and probable future functions of their 3d rigs compared to virtually all others, similar to many of those who rely on Nvidia glasses are now suffering. How many consumers are now acknowledging, logging and additively accepting Nvidia's chain of consumer and marketplace abuses. By the time Nvidia (is forced to) throw its olive branch to 3D and Physx consumers how many will really believe that Nvidia ever even tried to win by playing well or fairly "Nviidia the way it is Not meant to be played"!!! or be prepared to give Nvidia another chance to cr*p on their loyal consumers and the industry that they belong to!!
If Fermi's speed, power requirements, thermal management and reliabilty are not clearly superior to other offerings would you buy it or for that matter a Nvidia based phone etc?? I certainly will not. To make matters worse for Nvidia by the time Fermi is released there will be several more and better 3D technologies in the marketplace and as DX11 becomes common will Physx be at all useful or appealling as against physics performed by open standard technologies.

I'm not defending Nvidia in the least for letting 2 driver revs go out with this kind of bug (and I'm real tired of the new q/a thread not even having an acknowledgment that yes they are working on that), but if you think Mits and Sammy use the same underlying tech, I think you are wrong, based on the Samsung specific fixes (resolution, red tint, etc) they've come out with over the last few months. It might be checkerboard, but there seems to be more to it than that.

Turls do some checking, Samsung and Mits use the same Texas Instrument chips for DLP 3D (several differing generations) thus every other 3D system supports them equally (same profile).

Today Nvidia responded to my ticket and has simply said they're escalating it to a higher level and need more time. I'm just glad I didn't get a form response telling me to, ironically, install a newer, broken, driver.

Vhold, good work informing Nvidia and getting them to acknowlwedge problem. FYI I got the following reply from Nvidia last month "Thank you for the update. Your case is being escalated to our Level 2 Tech Support group. The Level 2 agents will have to review your case notes. As this process may take some time we ask that you be patient and a Level 2 tech will contact you as soon they can to assist you with your issue."

Will it be fixed in the next driver release?
I have the glasses for 3 more weeks before the return date, if they're not going to work. Then there is no need for me to keep them.
I can use 1.15, but I really got them for Avatar and Dragon Age Origins. Need an update or a patch release.

When is this issue going to be fixed ?
We want our generic CRT/DLP support ! There's NO reason why
it should be taken from us.
If Nvidia seriously (and foolishly) drops CRT/DLP support, unfortunately
I'll have to find other alternatives for my 3d solutions..
I've submitted a ticket, however have yet to recieve a response.
