Gothic II can now be played in 3D Vision
  2 / 2
Yesterday I played Gothic 2 and thought: "oh man how cool would it be to play it in Stereo 3D?" - and today there is a fix :D. Can you read minds? Thank you very much masterotaku. I'll try this fix tonight :)

I don't read minds :p. I just saw Zloth's necroposting abilities that made me know about this DX11 mode. I sometimes look at my GOG and Steam libraries and think "what classic games are there to fix that I can play in DX11?" (DX9 is a little discouraging). Note to self after seeing you: I have to continue that Spanish translation I promised to do (I made about 1/7 one day and then got busy with stuff, including fixes). If nothing weird happens, I'll publish the fix before the weekend ends (today or tomorrow probably).

I've just tried the gothic 2 fix and it looks so incredible good! With Direct X 11 renderer I thought in 2D mode: wow that looks pretty good now but with stereo 3d I think: "Is this still Gothic 2? Looking too good for it" xD. Gothic 2 is one of my favourite games of all times. Thank you very much for the 3d fix again!

I've just published both fixes on the blog. They needed to be different in the end, due to the HUD shader that needed a different fix for each game. In Gothic 2, your initial convergence doesn't matter. In Gothic, it does. Get rid of the WIP fix now :).

Well, I got the massive "Returning" mod installed and it sounds like it uses the same DX11 setup that the 3D Vision mod expects. I ran it a couple of times to get the settings how I liked them and run through the initial exposition, then I stuck the 3D Vision mod in. Unfortunately, Bitdefender blew a gasket, marked a bunch of shader.bin files as infected, then quarantined the shaders, Gothic2.exe, Gothic2.ini, and even the shortcut I use to start Gothic 2 Returning! AVs can be a major pain at times.

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. Instead of altering their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views ... which can be very uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.
