Forcing Exclusive Fullscreen in DX11 *Without* .dll Mods?
Is there any way to force a DX11 game to run in exclusive fullscreen without the use of .dll mods like 3Dmigoto? World of Warcraft removed support for exclusive fullscreen yesterday, breaking 3D Vision support in the process. Using .dll mods is potentially bannable, so i would strongly prefer to avoid using them if possible, but i would very much like to be able to continue playing in 3D.

Well you may get it to work running in DX9 with 3D fix Manager, there is a mode in the setting to make 3D work in Window mode.. I am unsure what could be done without running Migoto to get it working in DX11.. Why did they kill full screen support?? wouldn't that kill performance?

They also removed DX9 support, so that's non-workable. A blue poster claimed they removed fullscreen because DX12 doesn't support it: "With DX12 there is no longer a Fullscreen option. Fullscreen(windowed) is essentially the Fullscreen now. This isn't something we changed with WoW necessarily but just how DX12 works now." Not sure why that means they have to break things for those of us using DX11 tho >.<

Would it maybe be possible to add an override to NVIDIA Inspector? Similar to how it can be used by default to globally disable vsync? Or does that only work with variables pre-designated by Nvidia?

There is still a DX11 mode, but yes, they added DX12 support with yesterday's patch. I haven't tried 3Dmigoto yet since i'm wary of the ban risk, so i'm not certain if that would work or not even. At some point i may try to set up a fully offline sandbox to see how the client reacts, since there is absolutely no point in risking a ban if it wouldn't even work.

yes, :-( it was really unexpected. At least until they return it (people is complaining about great huge fps loss), but i doubt they will

Someone else with more knowledge might shed some light on this but isn't Direct-X-12 Microsoft's approach to cross platform gaming, the core of this new pipeline? Or only a (Xbox >-< Windows) cross-platform thing? I remember the transition from DX9 to DX11 sounded like the end of 3D Vision. Every time guys talk about DX12 I get a mini heart attack. DX12 doesn't seem to get airborne though.

Yes 3dmigoto works and I had a work in progress fix that had fixed everything but the shadows but I abandoned cause I couldn't get the software mouse to render the mouse in 3D Very glad I didn't spend any more time working this game then ... =/ Not sure you could use it to force fullscreen though I have never had much luck getting that to work.

Nonsense from Blizz devs. DX12 will accept a fullscreen exclusive format but only use windowed, keeping the feature available for d3d11.
