Hi,
I just installed the last driver (1.38) to start playing Call of Duty: Black Ops, but now L4D is almost unplayable. There are serious issues:
a) The graphics has a lot of tearing, shimmering and artifacts. Some objects are visible through walls. The glitches make the scene so distracting that its almost unplayable.
Another weird issue is with the crosshair. The crosshair comes to screen depth when you move, and if you stop, it slowly sinks into proper depth, moving away till it reaches the depth it should be.

Yes I have turned film grain effects off, and everything is set as recommended in 3D profile. My system is:
Asus Rampage II Extreme
Core i7 940 2.93Ghz
GeForce GTX 285
6GIG Corsair 1333
Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty
Samsung SyncMaster 2233RZ
Pc Power & Cooling 1200W power supply

Any help is appreciated. Hope it can be fixed in next driver release

Mine seems to work fine with 1.38 driver.
L4D2 is not working for me though that neither controller or mouse seem to work at the menu options.

I uninstalled the 1.38 drivers and reinstalled the old 1.13 drivers, just to check if it's a driver issue, and yesss Left4Dead 1 and 2 both look flawless and amazing. Too bad i had to reinstall 1.38 coz i'm playing black ops a lot.

NVIDIA please fix left4dead in future releases. It's one of the best games in 3D, but with new drivers it's almost unplayable
Thanks

Yeah, I'm getting some crazy black 'shadows' in the sky in L4D2 with the newer drivers.

I found a fix for the problem. The fix is not in 3D drivers or game settings, but in nVidia display drivers.

Go to nVidia control panel, then to 3D settings, set anisotropic filter to "Application Controlled". Use the in-game settings instead to set the anisotropic filtering to ur preference. This should fix Left4Dead problems. There seems to be compatibility issues by overriding in-game settings and applying anisotropic filter through display driver.

I didn't notice any difference in graphics detail in game by applying this change; however, i noticed that the game looks slighter brighter (it used to be a bit darker if anisotropic set through display drivers). In previous drivers there was no incompatibility or bug caused by applying anisotropic through nVidia control panel.

Now L4D looks absolutely amazing, the crosshair is at perfect depth and everything looks beautiful in both L4D 1 and 2
