3D Vision dead on new Geforce RTX 2000 Series?
100$ adapter? So it's like i thought, i must give up 3D if upgrade to Geforce RTX 2000 Series. Getting a new 3D monitor is not an option.
I think it would be WAY better to spend money on a good, new monitor than a 2080. If you put the 2080 on the monitor you have now, it's going to be overkill.

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. Instead of altering their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views ... which can be very uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.

I received my RTX 2080 thinking i will just have to give up 3D switching from DVI to HDMI. Then found out HDMI can only do 60hz regardless of resolution. So not only i can't play in 3D but i can't play games in 2d at 120hz like before. :( Worst decision ever! I can't be stuck on a 60hz monitor so i ordered a 1440p 165hz Asus 3D monitor (PG278QR). Can't believe i wasted all my money because of a stupid cable. With so much money wasted wish i would be using the new monitor for some 3D Games too but lately i mostly played Multiplayers. Is there any chance for Fallout 76 to receive a community patch? It has the same engine as Fallout 4 and i remember that working well in 3D.

It worked fine on my last monitor.

Depends on HDMI version and the monitor.

I bought a 2.0 HDMI cable but like @rustyk21 said, it also depended on the HDMI version and the monitor. Asus VG278H is a 10 year old monitor, it probably doesn't even have HDMI 1.2. So it will forever be stuck at 60hz on the new generation of graphic cards since they don't support DVI-D.

Hi, picked up a RTX 2080 founders edition as it seemed like a good choice concering loudness and longlivety. I ran trough hell trying to get 3D to work at all and for the time being I have given up. I do my 4K gaming there instead with my LG 55" IPS 3D TV passive. EDID override produced artifacts when rendering. 4Kx2 is also quite expensive on performance. 3DTV Play was crap annoying and I had loads of ghosting. I blame the TV for the ghosting. I can play 3D Blu-ray without problem on my 3D TV along with SBS youtube clips. When upgrading I got a spare GTX 980 so I can pretty much just run 1080p60 3D on my 11 year old quad core. Tried to upgrade the ram beyond 4GB but managed to get some weird DDR2 from ebay that was the wrong physical size even. I forgot to mention that I run my ASUS VG278H monitor there currently. It supports pretty much HDMI 1.4a which means it can run 3DTV Play which obviously means 720p60 or 1080p24. I can't reach 60fps in witcher 3 at ultimate graphics clearly but I might sacrifice some to get a smooth 30hz experience. Did some test with the new tomb raider and the final test was half vsync at 24hz meaning solid 12fps which was still suprisingly smooth. I need a proper dual-link adapter to get it to run on my new RTX card and it is not practical when swithing frequently between 4K and 3D. There was no real golden solution for playing on my TV and the monitor beats the TV latency all the time.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
I need a proper dual-link adapter to get it to run on my new RTX card and it is not practical when swithing frequently between 4K and 3D.
I read a lot of bad reviews about that dual-link adapter (the one with 330MHz Pixel Clock). It keeps shutting the monitor on and off from time to time so it really isn't a good solution. Most of them say it gets even worse after a few months of use. Read the reviews for yourself: https://www.amazon.com/Accell-B087B-007B-DisplayPort-Dual-Link-Adapter/dp/B00856WJH8 If it was a regular cheap adapter i would have no problem with it but at that 100$ price range it's just better to get a new monitor. One that features a Display Port.
