I don't mind waiting longer if the fix is going to be more polished, good things take time. One great thing about this games is that it does not take much to run so for most people 3d should be really good and 60 fps in both eye should be achievable

Appreciate all the work you guys are doing. I am a 3D evangelist, absolutely love the tech and promote it where I can. Alien Isolation is screaming for 3D, I'm gonna wait for the patch.

some guy on steam forums has managed to increase shadows between 4k -16k, really does help with CM mode in 3d, and changes reflections etc to ultra, ive been using that ENGINE_SETTINGS.XML with Assasin creed black flag profile, and i dont see no halo's, and it really does add some improved nice gfx tweeks.
take a look :D
Pretty nice shots. Alien is arguably the best use of CM so far.
Still not personally enthusiastic though-
those shots all show a lack of depth, which is probably OK on projector, but a bit weak sauce on monitor. Plus no ability to have any pop-out effects, limited convergence. No toyification possible.
Also, you guys keep saying there are no halos and are clearly exaggerating. Anything that is up close to you, and blocks your view will have halos. Crouch behind a box and lean in and out. Look at the edge of the box.
Look at your shot here: See the halo around the monitor on the left?

Look at your shot here: See the halo around the noisemaker canister? If you zoom this to full screen, you can see haloing around the bars in the fence.

I don't personally find the halos objectionable, but it's better if people have a clear idea of what it's doing.
If we did not have the ability to do true-3D, I for sure would have played in CM. But true-3D here is quite a lot better as usual (I get first looks because I need them to fix 3Dmigoto glitches).
Here's the kind of shot that looks just bland and normal in 2D mode, but really compelling in 3D.

If someone can put up the same shot using CM, I think the contrast would be very interesting.
I'd expect to see noticeable haloing around the helmet, but am curious to see how bad it is.
This happens very early, right after you arrive at the station from EVA.

i actually did that part last night, their wasnt halos around the helmet, but what was strange is as the ai moved around to the side of my helmet, their head stretched. wierd to look at but not really an issue as long as u didnt walk right next to them

Can I get a screenshot? Alt-F1 by default, shows up in the \NVStereoscopic3D.IMG folder.
The warping of the outside images is on purpose- and is part of the helmet itself. You can see it in my screenshot there too, the left image (for the right eye) has the spacesuit warped.

Cool, thanks. I'm not sure about the checkpoints, I thought they were only saved when you hit the emergency machines. However I did have it overwrite a save somehow when switching between current save and last prior save, so I don't really understand what they are doing there.
Nevertheless, you probably want a backup of your game saves anyway. Word is:
