Hello, have a question about using two monitors. I have done many searches and people say it is possible to use two monitors with this, one set for the 3d and the other just regular.
I have been messing with settings for a bit and no luck.
My 3d monitor is the View Sonic VX2265wm and the other monitor is just a Hannspree HF237. I'm also running a GTX 280 on windows 7.
Basically I want my viewsonic to run the game in 3d and my other monitor to not run it in 3d, so others can watch the game/ect.
Is this even possible? I did some reading and people claim to make it work but never really describe how. Right now when I run a game my main monitor runs in 3d but the other monitor is trying to also, but its only a 60hz monitor so it does this screen shaking thing lol.

I run dual screens, one 3d and one 2d. Right click a empty part of your desktop to bring up the window and click personalize (my method-there are diff. ways) then click display settings, with display settings window open, first click the 2 icon and just below that click the option to " extend the desktop onto this monitor" ( #2 icon for your 2d screen-you want the 3d screen as your primary) and click apply. Both screens can run diff res and refresh rates. PS.........click and drag the icon for #2 monitor to the side of the screen you want to run the mouse curser off of ie the right side of your primary screen. From time to time my settings will screw up and i will have to redo it. If i remember right you have to plug the 3d screen into the proper dvi out on the graphics card too. For some reason if i leave my 2d screen on it causes major flicker in my glasses, i just push the power button on the 2d screen and problem solved. Good Luck
opps should looked at your post slower lol-Nevermind what i said :"> ..................................ATI had the option on my old 1300 pro, it was nice to clone run the movie to the plasma tv back in the day but i think programs would just run on one screen and the other screen would become useless.
For some reason this way is much quicker than loading the nv control panel, which i do use only for fine tuning

Yeah see this works for extended desktop, which wasn't my question. i have that working, what I want is a Clone, so that both monitors show the same image, just one is in 3d and the other in 2d. I want to play Bioshock 2 in 3d, but my girlfriend likes to watch me play the game, but I am not about to spend another 180 for a pair of glasses that will be used every once in a while. So I would like my screen to be 3d and the one she is watching t be 2d, but it causes a flickering problem.
If I could set my monitors refresh rate separately when in clone mode this would work, but I don't know how to make that work.

Any new idea's anyone?
Pretty sure what you want is impossible. Cloned is cloned. The video card outputs the same signal be it 2D or 3D to both ports.
I wonder if it might not work with a second video card though, since that card wouldn't necessarily be in '3D mode' - will give it a try when I get home today.

So ummm yeah. I got it work, but not in the way that I expected. Which just goes to show I don't know as much as I thought I did.
Firstly. I wasn't able to clone my screens when running the displays off separate cards, so I connected both cards to my SLI set to enable this option.
I was thinking I would probably get duplicated 3D on both screens but to my surprise, when I fired up the 3d video viewer or a 3D game, I got working 3D on display 2 & regular 2D on display 1. No idea why the drivers decided to do it that way & I couldn't find any option to switch it around but there you go.
Screenie of settings is attached.
Edit: But my screens are the same and both do 120Hz so maybe this where things are going pear shaped?
