Will there be 1080p Projector with 3D Vision support?
1 / 2
Just wondering will there be 1080p/120hz projector near future? There are some tempting 1080p projectors, like Optoma HD33 and Epson3010 but Epson seems to have terrible input lag and optoma is not good either plus both cannot do even 1080p/60 3D and no 120hz for 2D. I really like H5360 but lamp is end of life and i think with next gen GFX cards i could also update my 3D projector but i think there is no better alternative at the moment or is there/soon to be?

You could do a dual projector passive setup by using two Optoma 3D-XLs. There are several threads discussing it, here's a link for one http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1280393
The 3DFury that is releasing soon, claims to offer dual projector passive support when using two 3DFuries just like the 3D-XLs.

Sorry no. We have to wait until the HDMI spec is updated from 1.4a, so that there will be enough bandwith to support 1080p 60hz 3D Frame packed mode.
[/quote]
DVI could do 1080p/120hz. New Acer even have DVI(not sure if it's dual link). nVidia should work harder to get 3D vision supported on those 1080p projectors...

single link dvi doesnt't support 120Hz at 1080p. It's identical to HDMI, and just doesn't offer the necessary bandwidth

3D vision/3d tv play is not supported on optoma 3d xl.
May be a way around it however.

I thought the 3D-XL allowed the GPU look past it for the display EDID, like a receiver does, when it actually works and completes the handshake. Well if it doesn't a Gefen HDMI detective could be put in place after capturing the EDID.

Damn 3dFurys are crazy priced. Hope a 1080p non 3d projector with dvi-d support comes out. Would make it worth it to get one so you can do 1080p60hz 3d. Don't know how it will perform(ghosting wise) though. If one doesnt come out that thing is garbage...400 bucks without emitter or glasses.....
Dual projector is like 300 bucks cheaper with optoma @ comes with 2 dlp glasses to resell.(so like 400) Def don't recommend that.
Though im PRETTY SURE that 3d vision does NOT work with dual projectors. Just in case any1 was planning....though i doubt it since its VERY hard to set up and a strong breeze can mess force you to recalibrate your set up. That and you need to be tech savie and spend many hours getting it set up.

I agree, the 3DFury is pricey. It does have a Gefen HDMI Detective type of function. It also supports a lot more refresh rates than the 3D-XL http://3dfury.com/?page_id=34
Nvidia does not support dual projectors TriDef does.
There is a product out that will take any 3D format that is input and convert it for use over a "Dual HDSDI Cable" costs 4-5k though

Also, did you check out the glasses they are going to be selling with adjustments on the glasses themselves? I wonder if they are a new Bit Cauldron product that is rebadged. (the Monster Vision glasses are rebadged Bit cauldrons)
3Dfury RF Glasses Specifications:
â– Most Advanced 3D Glasses
â– Interference Immunity
â– Work with all 3DTVs
â– Work with all non-3DTVs powered by 3Dfury

â– Control Duty Cycle directly on the glasses.
â– Invert button directly on the glasses.
â– Loaded with presets selectable on the glasses.
â– Full Sharpness and Brightness control.
â– Mini USB connector for Battery (60+ hours)
â– IEEE 802.15.4 (ZigBee radio) Technology
â– Microsecond accuracy

Here's a link to a post, where a user compares the Monster Vision/Bit Cauldron 3D glasses with Expand 103 and Sony 3D glasses. He's able to eliminate the crosstalk comepletely thru adjustments http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=20912072#post20912072

Not gonna lie. I have no idea what that is for. But man does that item look like some1 made it in an electronics class..... I would not invest that kind of money in that lol. My optoma xl is 250 and it doesnt look like that.

It is ugly, it's for industrial use, but as far as I know, it's the only device that will take almost any (Sensio3D is not supported) 3D Format and convert it into any 3D Format. Look at the product features tab. I read a few threads where users were using it for it's support of dual projector setups, it's not HDCP compliant though, due to the HDSDI connections.
