I seek appreciaction for months working on a DX10 and DX11 wrapper.
Both are WIP but being able to play AC4 in almost flawless 3D is the current status.
This makes it redundant so far as 3Dmigoto already plays AC4 but is still a breakthrough for me.
I get a mixture of appreciation and people dismissing my work as worthless.
Even if the work is worthless the task is hard enough for some appreciation.

Helix, Had a great Direct X11 wrapper too it was only used on Bioshock .
This doesn't help
Flugan, Every one thank you for your work but now you are saying your wrapper is the best but it only works on AC 4.
Not knowing much about programing I think Bo3b as become the Helix of direct X11. If your wrapper is the best show the user's get it working more games I'm sure everyone would be thankful and donate.
I'm really sorry about your health but everyone has problems. This isn't the place for it.

Just wanted to let you all know that I appreciate a lot all your work: writing wrappers - competition is always good, isn't it - or by fixing games. :)

I keep getting malquoted.
Just pointed out that modern 3dmigoto is by far no1 whille I consider myself a distant second as both Chiri's static and Helix wrapper only work in one game.
Just as with bo3b wrapper both wrappers work with many games but there are not fixes for all games the wrapper supports.
At this point no game have been fixed using my wrapper.
I run AC4 with a fix intended for modern 3Dmigoto.
No point fixing the game twice.
I currently have nothing to show that does not already work in 3Dmigoto. Until that changes I'm not actively push people to use my wrapper. I'm not even up to date if there are any games that doesn't work for hunting in 3Dmigoto.

Lets not get too concerned about things like time and effort and ignore the true measure of a man and not measure our penises. I'll humbly include my own at 11" to start it off.

People will volunteer their appreciation readily and willingly when they can play a game they know you fixed. Once you can offer that, you will instantly get all the recognition those results deserve. Or if you use one of the other available tools to start fixing titles.
Asking people for appreciation because you spent a long time coding something they can't see the benefit of, or play the results of, is a little bit naïve.
I'm sure it takes a lot of skill to write something like a wrapper, and most people here wouldn't be able to achieve the same, but all of us have some sort of talent to offer that nobody else here probably appreciates, and we all have problems to live with in our daily lives. I almost committed suicide about 18 months ago because of depression, but I'm still here and now have lots to live for, and I wish you all the best for the future.
I sometimes want to explain to people who don't quite understand me that I've overcome some massive adversity in my life, survived multiple situations when others would have died, but nobody *really* cares unless they are a partner, close friend or relative. You just have to learn that some things can only truly mean a lot to you alone because you achieved them for your own reasons. The fact other people appreciate what you do is the icing on the cake.

I still desire appreciation in a Don Quixote way as I was fighting a hard battle while bo3b avoided the battle completely. Keept going while there is little chance of success and you keep being way behind.
As far as I know there are games only supported by my wrapper but I've been away a while so I'm not on top of things. One example is titanfall where I've never gotten 3Dmigoto to work.
People take 3Dmigoto for granted but it was lost when I started development and what I want is some appreciation for a daring move where I never knew if I could succeed and problems kept piling up. The fact that I succeeded is a grand finale by itself.
The choice was desparate as DX11 wrappers were dead both of them. I gave it my best shot to have a third maintained wrapper. Spent probably most time dealing with microsoft hook prevention fucking up my hooks regularly.
Basically coming second in Olympic table tennis is still an achievment that deserves appreciation.
Not winning does not make you worthless.

Again you are picking on bo3b for absolutely no reason. He (among others) has done a crap ton for the community and for 3D. Just stop it before you completely alienate/embarrass yourself. Just stop.
Or better yet - somebody just lock this thread, nothing good will come out of this anymore.

How is saying that bo3b did the right thing picking on bo3b?
I clearly took the bad route by writing a wrapper while he did the amazing thing of allowing 3Dmigoto to become open source.
Even if you don't mean things buy it, it is confusing why Bo3b is even being mentioned here!
Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

I don't think Flugan has been intentionally insulting bo3b. He says he has autism, which would account for why he says things that to others can come across as blunt and insensitive.
He states once or twice that he doesn't think bo3b could have made a wrapper from scratch. But unless I'm mistaken, bo3b has said this himself several times.
And when he says that bo3b "avoided the battle" that Flugan fought, he essentially refers to this battle as being quixotic. I had to double-check the meaning of quixotic, and it means "extravagantly chivalrous or romantic; visionary, impractical, or impracticable." In other words, Flugan is admitting that his path noble but fruitless, while bo3b took the sensible route.
He has also said a number of positive things about bo3b in this thread.
But having said that, Flugan, please pay attention to the reaction you're getting here. Your behaviour has arguably become counter-productive. You came here seeking praise from others, and yet you've managed to create the opposite: several people are now angry at you, or have even lowered their respect for you.
andysonofbob is right: mentioning specific people in a critical context puts everything you say on thin ice. If people take it the wrong way, or if they disagree with your appraisal, then it gives them a concrete reason to be offended at you, because it triggers their loyalty to the person you have mentioned.
And I also agree with Mike. Your main reason for doing this seems to be egotistical. You don't seem to care much about the actual projects, because you never finish them. And you don't seem to care much about what you provide to the community, because you haven't provided much. Instead, you mainly seem to care about what the community can give you: praise, recognition. This comes across as selfish, and is why some people are reacting badly to you.
Finally, Flugan, please believe everybody when they tell you that *results matter*! Look back through this thread, and you'll notice two main types of responses:
1. Some people refuse to give you praise, because they believe you haven't delivered tangible results.
2. Some people HAVE given you praise, but ONLY because of the tangible results you have given.
Take a look at DarkStarSword's post. He gives you praise, because he can find documented evidence of a tangible contribution you made. And a number of people agreed with him.
This should tell you something. You came here looking for praise for the mountain of work you did that amounted to nothing. Instead, the praise you did get was for the smaller yet tangible results you delivered.
If you want your audience to appreciate you, you have to give them what they want. They don't want martyrdom. They just want results and usefulness.
