Will I gain performance if I dont install the 3d vision drivers?
I dont use it anyway, so if I uninstall them (or dont install them in the first place, I understand during a custom driver install you may choose not to intsall it), will there be a significant performance increase?

Thanks

No, no performance hit; it's hardware on the card that handles things discretely, and not doing anything unless being accessed via the instruction set.

Thanks, bobby. i read somewhere that installing unnecessary drivers will slow a system down, and since im not using it, i thought i might squeeze a few fps more.

The stereo driver used to have a pretty significant memory leak issue in a few older driver releases that prompted many non-3D Vision users including myself to disable the service manually in the past: http://www.geeks3d.com/20090810/nvidia-stereoscopic-3d-driver-service-has-memory-leaks/

Its been fixed since then, and while the stereo driver does have a decent amount of CPU overhead while running in S3D, I don't think its a big deal to allow it to co-exist on your system if you're not running in 3D. Still, if you're that worried about it and not using 3D Vision, it doesn't hurt either to go ahead and uninstall the driver and choose not to install it in the future.
