Didn't work out so hot in 3d for me. Lots of stuff at the wrong depth and so on. Disappointed since it was recently mentioned as a 3d Vision title. Hoping either new drivers drop that add some better support, or the final game has some tweaks that help. I'll keep my eye on it since it hinted at some awesome 3D potential, but so far, not very good.

I was disappointed with the 3d performance also. Lots of ghosting, weird graphic anomalies (double white shadow around character when flying over water), incorrect aiming reticle. I also hope that the final game has some tweaks that help it out because I could tell that the game has good potential especially with the feeling you get while flying around. On the other hand, the PC demo in regular 2D mode plays much better than the 360 demo that I tried earlier. The animations and controls are a lot smoother.

guys keep in mind its a demo and it can be made for 3d vision , i wish they would be more clear on that
Plus how do you expect the 3d vision to work that well with it when there hasnt been a driver update in quite some time?

Dark Void has a profile and is rated as Good, although I would not say that about what I saw from the demo. It uses the Unreal engine and thus has the same issues as all other games that come out with it when played in S3D mode... problems with lightning, shadows around objects. Turning off dynamic shadows may help a bit and lowering the depth level to minimum as well, but still I'd say far from deserving a Good rating... but we'll see in a few days when the full game is out if anything will be different.

I tried the demo again this morning and played around with the convergence and depth settings and was able to get the shooting reticle properly aligned by reducing the depth level and changing convergence to get in game-depth. The graphic anomalies improved a little bit but they are still there. This made the game more enjoyable.

Unfortunately I don't have the time to test and modify the demo.
But if it uses the Ureal Engine perhaps the workarounds I've found for Damnation and Rise of Agronauts (both Unreal Engine games) can help to reduce disturbing effects...?
See http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=99854
BTW when I asked in that topic if such disturbing effects can be switched off by driver updates the answer was "no". So if the final game itself will not be changed compared to the demo I don't have hopes that a driver update can solve these problems. But there is still a possibility that game updates can solve problems (Venetica, East India Company)...
Update: Couldn't resist and made a test.
I could remove some disturbing shadows and bloom effects:
Make a backup of SkyEngine.ini in ...\Users\...\Documents\My Games\Airtight\Dark Void\SkyGame\Config.
Open SkyEngine.ini and change the entries to:
[SystemSettings]
StaticDecals=False
DynamicDecals=False
DynamicShadows=False
MotionBlur=False
DepthOfField=False
Bloom=False
QualityBloom=False
Distortion=False
DropParticleDistortion=False
The result is a clear picture with less ghosting and no disturbing shadows. BUT the halo caused by water surfaces remains /verymad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':verymad:' />
Couldn't find out how to turn that off. Any idea?
The best way to reduce this halo effect is to reduce depth to minimum and increase convergence. But this causes the game to look quite flat.
If someone gets the final version of the game:
Please report us if these problems had been resolved!

I just finished playing a few hours of the full version of dark void and I have to say it's pretty damn good, the 3d works really good on it, I didn't notice any of the problems that were in the demo version, like messed up shadows or a halo around objects when near water, they must have fixed it for the full release,anyways well worth it.

Were you able to enable physx to medium or high? It just tells me to enable physx in the nV control panel and it already is enabled.

So by fixing an unreal engine game it can be made really compatible with 3D vision. As these changes were made within the game I still fear that in many cases not a (new) profile but only a game update will solve problems with shadows or the water halo... Let's hope that S3D support of games will become more important to game developers.

Just finished playing the full version and I gotta say this is so far the best game I've ever played in 3D, although I haven't played Avatar: The Game (have played RE5 and Batman tho). They have the convergence absolutely perfect and it even works amazingly with 100% depth. Being only a foot away from the monitor, I have a realistic sense of depth, it's amazing.
Not even much ghosting either. The 3D menus/cursor/text is a nice touch too, adds completeness to the 3D effect.
