Discovery on 60Hz Laptop (Asus)
Hi, I have an Asus G51vx X3A laptop and although it is a G51, it does not have the 120Hz screen but rather the 60Hz 1080p screen. Therefore, when I downloaded the drivers for the stereoscopic 3D, I ran into compatibility issues.
First of all, I got the 3D Discovery to work, BUT it was on my CRT screen at a resolution of 800x600 or so. I could care less of resolution, but I want it to run on my Laptop screen instead of lugging around a hefty CRT screen!

I have try every driver east of the Mississippi and nothing works; that is on my 60Hz laptop screen. When I try to enable the stereoscopic feature, it says "this laptop's panel is not qualified for 3D vision".

I don't want the 3D vision though! I want the old fashioned red-blue 3D (discovery). Therefore the Hertz should not matter; Although it will not let me apply 3D discovery because it gives me an error before I get a chance to click discovery.

I would appreciate any feedback any of you may have!

I want to use 3D discovery on my 60Hz laptop screen but can't because it give me an error applying to 3D Vision.

Thanks a bunch guys!

You need to install an older driver, something up to 190.38 (If I remember correctly) as with later ones you get the error on a laptop.

The other solution is to go for the iZ3D Driver that does support free anaglyph, but with some limitations for example there is no DX10 support currently available.

You can take a look at this thread: 195.81 BUG REPORT: 3D-Vision-Discover can't be enabled !
This is my thread for this problem and I will keep it up-to-date.

I'm using the 190.38 desktop driver with a modded inf for now.
I have to do this, cause Nvidia seems not be able to fix their problems with the stereo-driver.
You can try Tridef and IZ3D drivers too, but performance was low compared to the nvidia-driver.

I'm having the same issues after having downloaded the software today as well. If anyone has a link to the older drivers that are apparently not giving this error message about the laptop's panel I would be most appreciative, as i can't seem to find that specific version of the driver anywhere, and all i'm really insterested in using is the old fashioned blue/red 3d.

On a side note, i tried downloading the older drivers from nvidia's site (the ones mentioned here) and all i got after installing them was a message telling me there was a drivers mismatch, and the 3d option had been removed altogether from the nvidia control panel. The discover software is apparently still on my computer, but doesnt do anything if i try to run it.

laptopvideo2go (DOT) com has all of the old drivers and INF files. Don't ask me how to install them though...

As for the old Nvidia stereoscopic drivers, go to the nvidia driver section on the Nvidia site, and view the links at the bottom.

Either way, I have yet to get this thing working and am still trying different solutions.

Much the same, I will be back to post any solutions I find.
