3D Vision Kit + Asus G73Jw
I just got the Asus G73Jw and I am loving this laptop. My question is in regards to 3D Vision compatibility. When I check nVidia's website, it says the model is supported, however I don't think this LED screen can do 3D. I have the latest nVidia drivers from their website, and noticed that it installs 3D drivers along with the graphics drivers. However when checking the nVidia control panel, I can only select 60Hz resolution. Also, when I look through my Start Menu, there's a 3D Vision menu under nVidia which has an option to "Enable 3D Vision." However I get a message that says "This panel does not support 3D Vision." I'm assuming this laptop only supports 3D output, and that the screen itself doesn't support 3D. The LED screen I have is the HSD173PUW1 and when google searching it mentions nothing regarding 120Hz.

I was hoping someone would be able to clarify this for me, as neither Asus nor nVidia are making it any clearer for me. Thanks!

hi
i have bought a clevo p170hm with the same monitor
so.... ill be quick
your real question is "is there a screen compatible with hsd173puw1 with 120hz capable?"
my answer.... i have manage to put this screen overclocked to 75hz, not tryied more tan this, u can put older graphics drivers to enable it... BUT... i dont say it is safe to your eyes because some games run at more than 30 fps. your screen isnt prepared for 3d at more than 30 fps, so..... it doesnt exists any screen 120hz compatible we can use at the moment. will have to wait and see...
120hz screen uses another plug diferent from 60hz screens... (50 pin connection to 120hz and 40 pin to 60hz)
so... nothing i can do for now.
im trying to create a cable to connect the two but... its not that easy...
