Thanks a lot for the amazing fix to everyone involved. Much appreciated. Maybe the developers added 3D support because of this.... https://www.vg247.com/2016/02/25/rise-of-the-tomb-raider-pc-outsold-xbox-one-digital-31-in-launch-month-report/ and they say piracy doesn't affect sales! Well done everyone, I can't wait to try this fix.

On very High it will simply kill your GPU:( The bad news is that under SLI is out of sync between the left & right eye. But in Surround + SLI is working perfectly fine as is on a single GPU... We have seen this before and is related to a bug/different behavior of SLI between single & multi screens... It was never addressed:( As well as other issues related to SLI + Surround + 3D Vision + Windows 10..sadly:( (Which is why I keep both Win10 and Win7 installed;))[/quote] Cannot even leave it on. The cutscenes drop from 60 to 15 fps with purehair on. During the game it also kill some of the fps, but not as bad as in the cutscenes. In some parts like when i move the camera my fps drops to 10/15 with purehair off, cannot get 30 to 50 fps constant. I wanted to try an old driver, but didnt even open the game, other games i noticed old drivers worked much better in 3d.

Hi all, Please forgive me for what is to be a naive question. I have been following this topic as I have been eagerly awaiting an official release of 3D Vision Fix for Rise of the Tomb Raider. I have never used a fix before and am having difficulty understanding the process of how to implement this given the instructions on the first post in this thread. What I have done/understand thus far... - I have downloaded a .nip and imported it using inspector. - I assume as I don't use SLI I can ignore anything pertaining to the use of "Geforce 3D Profile Manager"? - I downloaded the compressed archive with the "fix". What am I to do with this? - I understand the various recommendations and requirements stated... using an early build, etc. Thanks in advance, -Bri

Since I was getting a black screen when trying to play the new patch, I thought I'd try this fix. Unfortunately, I have to say the older fix was better than this one, unless I'm doing something wrong... I'm running 3d surround and I edited the ini file to put 1.0 in the 3 places mentioned. I unrared the 100mb fix file into the game directory (The instructions didn't actually say what to do with the files but that's what I guessed needed to be done - I recommend adding that step). Here are the problems I'm facing that I didn't have with the original 3d compatibility patch: 1) I have to aim crosshairs about 5 head-widths to the right (this is broken enough that it needs to be fixed or I just can't play with this problem) 2) I'm seeing a lot of halo blur around edges (like Lara's head and bow) that wasn't there before 3) I had purehair turned to very high before but I have to turn it off because her hair appears a couple feet to the right of her head (hilarious, but not a big deal to turn off) 4) FPS meter is broken (not a big deal but baffling) 5) The text boxes are badly warping around the scene in 3d. This happened with the old patch but it seems worse here. I do appreciate the effort involved, but I don't know why this version looks a lot worse than the previous effort.

Ok, I figured out I had to enable ctrl-alt-f11 which fixed the problem. I didn't respond earlier because I was playing the game, but I do appreciate the assistance. And yes, I'm running the 610_1 build. I did find out my FPS in 3d Surround took a nosedive from 30-40 to 15-17 and I don't know why. The only thing I did differently from compatibility mode was turn off truehair. Not sure if this is a known issue with this latest fix. I'm going to have to turn down some settings because that's too low to aim properly. The crosshair was fixed, too, but I don't know whether implementing DSSs crosshair fix in the other thread affected that. Also, the game has blue-screened on me 3 times now. That hasn't happened to me so far in the 22 hours I've played the game. The bugchecks were 0x0000000a, 0x000000fc, 0x0000007e. EDIT: I re-read the release notes on the first page and I see that low FPS in 3D Surround is a known issue with a workaround. I'll check that out. EDIT2: The workaround didn't work for me. I tried the graphics presets and even the lowest preset was only 25 FPS. At this point I would love to try the released patch today, but after removing all these mods, switching off the beta, and trying the game, it was giving me a black screen when starting the game. Now I'm kinda stuck.

On 4800x900 I get around 30-40 fps (with PureHair Off) and 25-35 with (PureHair ON). In cinematics the engine always uses PureHair Very HIGH and it will murder your FPS:). This is also with the alternative SLI bits. With default SLI bits I get really low FPS. Also PureHair likes to glitch a bit in one eye in SLI. One thing to note: Bezel corrected resolutions don't seem to work in the game, but "normal" Surround ones do!

Did anybody try the patch with purehair on to see if there is any improvements or it also murder the FPS in 3D?

First of all let me congratulate helifax and all the others (the names have already been named here numerous times) who were involved in this massively time-consuming fix! You guys absolutely rock! But there is one thing that I especially want to point out. Yesterday everyone who was cheering because of the new fix also didn't forget to pity helifax (and the others involved) for all the time that was put into this fix with the result that exactly at the point of release the game was fixed officially 3D-wise. I tell you the exact opposite. We already mentioned that this is a first. With the knowledge we have now (Mike already did an in-detail comparison between the official fix and the community fix and some others also did it) I tell you that the situation couldn't have been any better. This coincidence turned out to give this community and our 3D wizards in particular the biggest triumph they could possibly achieve. It turns out that all the time that helifax and all the others put into this fix was definitely not in vain but instead gave them the greatest achievement they could get: They beat the professionals who were aiming at the exact same thing: providing the ultimate 3D experience for Rise of the Tomb Raider. So I would say helifax and all of you guys can be even more proud now knowing that you have done it big time. Our fixers have proven time and time again that they are sacrificing their precious time not to make money out of it but because of the passion for 3D and video-games in general as well as passion for this community. Every fix is always also about the feeling of personal achievement. Especially in this regard all those hundreds of hours that went into this fix couldn't have been crowned better than by a simultaneously released official fix that turns out to be the inferior one (although it cannot be praised high enough that there are still studios/developers who care for their customers and for 3D)! So let me again congratulate you for this highest possible achievement that should now feel even a little better knowing that your fix even beats the official one!
