Software Developers + ShaderHackers = Community recommendations ?!?!
Hi Guys, Most of us normally use Facebook for various reasons (sharing things, talking with people and so on). While I do have an account it is VERY RARELY used;) Now, in the professional field there is another site that pretty much looks like Facebook (but is PROFESSIONAL) and is called LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/ Now most of us gamers don't know about it:) But some do;) So here is an IDEA:) I was thinking if people could endorse US (shadercrackers and developers) in the fields related to what we do and share here: meaning 3D VISION FIXES. Why I would want something like this??? Well, simple! Agencies and companies use LinkedIn to find new "talent"/employees :) and the recommendations count at least to get to talk with them;) Now VR (and 3D Stereoscopy) is pushing hard;) So, if some of us, get endorsements in these areas we are more likely to get contacted by some companies and we can AT LEAST TALK with them about Stereo 3D (so we raise up awareness). In my profile I made a special tag called: "3rd Party Stereoscopic Fixes (Nvidia 3D Vision)" and I recommend the following people to add it (if they use LinkedIn). My list of people for being endorsed ON SKILLS is the following: bo3b - LinkedIn Profile: PENDING [.]3rd Party Stereoscopic Fixes (Nvidia 3D Vision)[/.] [.]C/C++[/.] [.]DirectX 9[/.] [.]DirectX 11[/.] [.]HLSL[/.] [.]Shader ASM 3.0 - 5.0[/.] [.]Vertex/Pixel/Compute/Tessellation Shaders[/.] DarkStarSword - LinkedIn Profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ian-munsie-47a249100 [.]3rd Party Stereoscopic Fixes (Nvidia 3D Vision)[/.] [.]C/C++[/.] [.]DirectX 9[/.] [.]DirectX 11[/.] [.]HLSL[/.] [.]Shader ASM 3.0 - 5.0[/.] [.]Vertex/Pixel/Compute/Tessellation Shaders[/.] Flugan - LinkedIn Profile: PENDING [.]C/C++[/.] [.]DirectX 9[/.] [.]DirectX 11[/.] [.]HLSL[/.] [.]Shader ASM 3.0 - 5.0[/.] [.]Vertex/Pixel/Compute/Tessellation Shaders[/.] [.]Shader Disassembler from ASM TO HLSL[/.] Mike_ar69 - LinkedIn Profile: PENDING [.]3rd Party Stereoscopic Fixes (Nvidia 3D Vision)[/.] [.]DirectX 9[/.] [.]DirectX 11[/.] [.]HLSL[/.] [.]Shader ASM 3.0 - 5.0[/.] [.]Vertex/Pixel/Compute/Tessellation Shaders[/.] DHR - LinkedIn Profile: PENDING [.]3rd Party Stereoscopic Fixes (Nvidia 3D Vision)[/.] [.]C/C++[/.] [.]DirectX 9[/.] [.]DirectX 11[/.] [.]HLSL[/.] [.]Shader ASM 3.0 - 5.0[/.] [.]Vertex/Pixel/Compute/Tessellation Shaders[/.] masterotaku - LinkedIn Profile: PENDING [.]3rd Party Stereoscopic Fixes (Nvidia 3D Vision)[/.] [.]DirectX 9[/.] [.]DirectX 11[/.] [.]HLSL[/.] [.]Shader ASM 3.0 - 5.0[/.] [.]Vertex/Pixel/Compute/Tessellation Shaders[/.] DJ-RK - LinkedIn Profile: PENDING [.]3rd Party Stereoscopic Fixes (Nvidia 3D Vision)[/.] [.]DirectX 9[/.] [.]DirectX 11[/.] [.]HLSL[/.] [.]Shader ASM 3.0 - 5.0[/.] [.]Vertex/Pixel/Compute/Tessellation Shaders[/.] 4everAwake - LinkedIn Profile: PENDING [.]3rd Party Stereoscopic Fixes (Nvidia 3D Vision)[/.] [.]DirectX 9[/.] [.]Shader ASM 3.0 - 5.0[/.] [.]Vertex/Pixel/Compute/Tessellation Shaders[/.] And ofc me ^_^ Helifax - LinkedIn Profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/octavian-mihai-vasilovici-57a6156a [.]3rd Party Stereoscopic Fixes (Nvidia 3D Vision)[/.] [.]C/C++[/.] [.]OpenGL 2.0 - 4.5[/.] [.]DirectX 11[/.] [.]GLSL[/.] [.]HLSL[/.] [.]Shader ASM 3.0 - 5.0[/.] [.]Vertex/Pixel/Compute/Tessellation Shaders[/.] If you want to write a tiny recommendation to each or any of us, that would also be beneficial;) I know it might sound a dull and weird thing to do;) If you feel that way, you don't need to it! Tis a shame that they sold it to Microsoft awhile back, hopefully they don't screw it all up. But hey for 26 Billion, Microsoft is entitled to do whatever with it.

I don't have a linkedin account yet. If I make one someday, I'll post it here. Although few people IRL know my internet identity.

I've endorsed you and DSS. "3rd Party Stereoscopic Fixes (Nvidia 3D Vision)" doesn't seem to be an endorsable skill, but I think I got the rest.
I don't have a linkedin account yet. Just need to coordinate getting a nice, professional looking picture taken before I even bother.

Thank you guys;) I do encourage you to make one;) See it as a second level Curriculum Vitae;) You don't necesarly need to use it to get a job. I see it more like a "personal agenda" that I keep with "goals and achievements" :) So, is good to keep track of all the major skills and things you develop;) People do use it and you can get various connections and dialogues related to a Professional field;) Not everything needs to be made on a "contract" basis and I bet most of us agree on this;) (For example, we don't have any "contract" to work on 3D Vision fixes, but we do it cause we like it;) ) I have also used it in the past when trying to talk with other professional people:) (It was a developer from Codemasters - best known for the DIRT series). I think is a good idea to at least set one up ;) (Spreading awareness FTW ^_^)
