Benq W1100 (120hz) + 3D Vision is it possible?
I've bought Benq W1100 projector that supports 120 Hz (at 1280x720, 1280x800 and 1024x768 resolutions).
Previously I used Optoma HD67 and it works fine with 3D Vision and installed Acer H5360 (EDID Override) driver.
But this trick doesn't work with Benq W1100, I use the same driver from Acer and 1280x720@120Hz, but 3D mode doesn't work.
Nvidia 3D setup master freezes after glasses turning on step.
Is there any solution for this projector?

Hi,

Have you tried this thing with DVI/VGA adapter ?

I'm from France, I'm waiting for my W1100 and I'll test is as soon as I got mine. But I think it's possible to activate 3D vision on this projector by removing the two pins and using a VGA câble.

My advice is to use the 1280x720@120Hz as this mode is the one working on lots of 720p projectors, and its the same ratio (16/9) as 1080p.

If it's working, then don't forget to tell us :D

PS: Sorry for my poor english and I hope that NVIDIA will add this projector in next revision of drivers.

I'm also very curious if this can be made to work with 3D vision. Love the 1080p 2D, 720p 3D combo that the projector offers for 1000 bucks...

I'll try it on this weekend and post the report about results here asap.

I've tested it with VGA cable with EDID pins removed - 3D mode dosn't work :( All is the same as with HDMI cable and Acer H5360 driver.
It seems that 120 Hz (I tested all supported resolutions) is not real 120 Hz mode (moving objects are not so smooth as they must be on 120 Hz).
In 3D mode objects don't appear double without glasses as usual on 3D monitors and projectors.

Too bad that the 120Hz mode of this projector is not working with NVIDIA 3D Vision ...

I've buyed this projector to see movies with my PS3, but as I need to upgrade my computer for games ... buying a GTX580 with a 3D vision kit witch is the same price of the AMD Radeon HD6990 I've planned to buy) would have been great to play games in 3D on a really big screen.

I've already tested 3D vision on a 24" monitor, it's cool ... but playing in 3D on a 100" screen is awesome /biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I've tested this by a friend with an Optoma 720p 3D projector with a GTX580. He is also using his PC to see movies in 3D which is better than the cinéma, but for normal movies, it's not as good as a 1080p projector.

I'm waiting for my projector and I will try to test it with my friend installation, and the decide what I'm dooing for my PC upgrade.

Hoping that NVIDIA will read this post and add the W1100 to the 3D vision compatible list, then they'll get another client /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Hello ! EDID will help 3D to the driver for a projector. To Choose CRT after installation and to pass the test at 60 Hz. To choose 1280Ñ…800@120 in panel NVIDIA. OK!
P.S To remove audi the driver from the list - will disturb.http://turbobit.net/gojm11njfot2.html

Well, let's hope BenQ will add true 120 Hz support in a new firmware, as they did with their W600, to catch up with competition.

And competition comes. Optoma is going to launch (August 2011)
Optoma HD33 and Optoma HD3300 - fullHD 3D HDMI 1.4a.

http://marketing.optomausa.com/PDFs/Datasheets/Optoma_HD33_Datasheet.pdf

http://www.projectorcentral.com/pdf/projector_spec_6343.pdf

I guess NVidia will support it through 3DTV Play, as they did with Sharp XV-Z17000.
Looking at the specs though I believe the price for these Optomas will be much less than Sharp, about the same as BenQ W1200.

the problem is that your method doesn't work with Benq W1100
have you tested it yourself?

If they sell this for more than 1300 dollars (which they most likely will), its a rip off. Still does 720p for anything other than 3D bluray and contrast ratio/picture quality is similar to 720p 3D models. A resolution bump for Avatar and 3 other decent 3D bluray movies are certanly not worth more money than that. On top of that it doesn't support 3D vision (3DTVPlay only) and cant be used in setting up 3D surround.

People can get OptomaHD66 and 3DXL for 1000 bucks so 1200-1300 bucks seems fair price for this.
