Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga 3D Video: Narrated by Recostar S3DGamerZONEs 3D Preview with ful
Hey guys,
It's been a little while since I've posted anything on Nvidias forums and wanted to show you a video I made a few weeks back of Divinity II:The Dragon Knight Saga. Recently,I have been narrating threw all my Video reviews and Previews as this seems to be appealing to the viewers. In this preview I talk about some of the game play elements and 3D effects that you'll come to enjoy and some of the disappointments. Even though this is just a demo of the game I still wanted to be as detailed as I could and talk about certain disappointing elements that are common in RPG games when playing in 3D. For instance , having to much or even to little pop out in cut scenes. The response has been very positive so far and I would like to thank Nvidia for allowing me to post these Reviews/Previews on there forums along with the community for following my work and there continued support, It's greatly appreciated.

As detailed as the video is ,it is all based off a demo of the game ,so no game rating has been given. I'm still hoping you will walk away with a better understanding of what you'll expect when playing this game in 3D.

YOU KILLED EVEN MORE BUNNIES THAN SOLUTIONS GAMING! You people are just horrible - poor little bunnies! (I learned in Asheron's Call never to attack bunnies. Bealzebunny taught me well. Nasssty nasty bunny smite!)

Anyway, I've played the game in full 3D (and you can see a bunch of my screenshots on the Solutions Gaming website) and it's a pretty mixed bag on that front. Those trees will drive you mad when they are around. You'll also get some dialog where the camera zooms in very close to the character forcing massive popout unless you have the depth/convergence set very low. My suggestion would be to switch in and out of 3D. If you're underground or in some castle, put the glasses on. If you get outdoors, take them off again. The expansion, which is included in the Dragon Knight Saga, has the same problems as the first but the setting is such that you'll see them much less often so you'll be wearing the glasses for most of the game.

As far as the game itself goes, it's a good one. Good quests, good characters (particularly Belligar), good action, good graphics, interesting music, and plenty of good humor. It's not a drop-dead, must-buy, super game but it's a nice, solid action RPG that will keep you questing. It would be an excellent game to help fill the summer lull. The music is particularly... interesting. A lot of it is great stuff. Some of it is a bit out of tune or otherwise unprofessional but this happens in places where it makes sense for the music to be a bit amateur, like in a small village. This is the first game I can remember that actually sets the mood by the quality of the music and it works pretty well!

Vids (both 2D I'm afraid):

Oh no, the Dragon Terror Patrol!

P.S. PC rankings are a good bit higher than XBox: http://www.gamerankings.com/pc/998546-divinity-ii-the-dragon-knight-saga/index.html

Hey Zloth !! I wanted to thank you for taking the time to elaborate more on the game . I'm really glad to hear the results are overall very positive. It's a shame about the trees and rivers, It looks like a lot of the game is spent outside,so I'm assuming you end up running into the weirdly rendered trees often, kind of an eye sour. I also noticed the same thing about the "POP out" how sometimes the camera zooms really close and your eyes start to scream, very good suggestion you made by simply turning the 3D off when in cut scenes. I'm glad to hear that the expansion has less problems, it seemed like a really fun game to play. I was enjoying myself thoroughly until I reached the end of the demo. Once you start unlocking more powers that's when things get spicy .

I enjoyed the music, it makes you feel like adventuring. It's to bad I couldn't get my hands on the full game cause I would have loved to do a Review of it. I can't really say if it's a buy or not ,which is why your posting is so valuable as you give so much insight to the game beyond what I could , and again I thank you for it.

Take care ,
