Hi All
I own a Panasonic TC-P50VT25 and Geforce GT240 and I am interested in buying the 3DTV play software to play Blu-Ray 3D in my Panasonic 3D HDTV. I know that 3DTV play software will be release in mid September 2010 but I do not know if my GT-240 works with 3DTV software. I guess it but I am not sure. Does anybody if it is like that or Should I buy another Geforce video card(for example GTX460)
Thanks in advance

You can play 3D blurays on using any video card...however you need a really fast CPU as GTX200 cards don't support bluray acceleration. Even with I7 most likely 3D blurays will run slow because the programs that play 3D blurays only use dual cores.
HOWEVER...
You may be lucky because GT240 actually supports 3D bluray acceleration. I don't know why or how but its listed for the 3D bluray support.
We need to wait for 3DTV software to come out but by the looks of things you will most likely be able to play 3D blurays on your TV using GT240 better than someone using GTX260 or GTX285

There were a bunch of threads around here of 3D bluray running slow on GTX200 cards. Something to do with PureVideo HD(VP) where the GTX 295 has VP2(2nd gen) while VP4(4th gen) is needed to do 3d bluray real time.
VP4 is present in the following GPUs:
- GeForce GT 240, GT 320, GT 340, GTS 250M, GTS 260M, GT 335M, GTS 350M, GTS 360M (GT 215)
- GeForce GTX 460, 465, 470, GTX 480 (GF100)
If you took a look at 3D bluray requirements 2 months ago, GTX200 cards weren't even listed. However that has changed last week and now they are listed, with a double asterix next to them...http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-requirements.html

My gtx295 accelerates blu ray, i was under the impression that most if not all gtx 200 series had x264 acceleration.

I want to know what the double asterix means...
