Is the Acer HN274H the only 27 inch at the moment? Seems like the one to go with.

Samsung has one out as well, although it does not support Nvidia's 3D vision. The Acer 27" model you mentioned is without a doubt the best choice as it has built-in support for Nvidia's 3D vision and can also handle 3D blu-ray movies as well.

I'm not sure if you are stuck on a monitor, but if you really want BIG and no ghosting, the only way to go is a DLP projector. I'd highly recommend the ACER H5360. There are two drawbacks to this: 1) you need the right kind of room with a wall you can project on and the ability to shut out the daylight and 2) it's limited to 720p at this point.
Especially when it's so large, you do notice the difference between 702 and 1080, but I wanted to make sure you considered this as the DLP technology actually allows for 0% ghosting and obviously a projector means a screen as big as you want.

Can't go wrong with any of the mitsubishi DLP TVs, they start out at 60" go up to 85" or so , best bang for your buck imo. I got mine for $799 on a black friday deal and have no regrets, 0 ghosting and the 3d experience just can't be beat, truly amazing pic quality with both games and 3D movies.

What are the options this day in age? Bigger the better, and of course less ghosting...damn you sammy.
Cheers.
