For both gaming and Cad type work I would think the Geforce line would be better. a quadro GPU can be super expensive and does not game well at all. While the geforce card lacks in CAD type enviroment its not as bad as the lack of gameabilty in the quadro series.
But what kind of resolution are you running CAD at? And how much power will you require? As for the 3D vision and multi gpu I have no clue. But you may also have to upgrade your power supply when you get a new GPU.

With Quadro you can also use Quad Buffered OpenGL - professional apps that do support stereo 3D mode (also stereo 3d in a window), but with Quadro you can as well use 3D Vision for gaming as it also supports Direct3D (you can switch between the two). Quadro has the OpenGL support built in its display drivers (needs only the USB driver for the IR Transmitter) and for D3D you still need to install the 3D Vision drivers.

I'm wanting to display CAD in 3D Vision as well as the gaming, I wasnt sure if AUTOCAD is only supported through the Quadro line or not
