Some games have a problem on W10, try this

Solution found :
If you accidentaly update to creators update, do NOT roll back. Because the roll back won't be complete and fullscreen mode is broken afterwards, that means some of the 3D vision games won't work as described above.
Instead go to settings > game mode > and disable everything that is related to the game mode.
Fullscreen should work again and so 3D vision.

I was never able to get XCOM 2 to work correctly under Windows 10 with my setup, but the fix worked great under Windows 8.1 (I maintain dual-boot setup with Windows 10 and Windows 8.1)...

What is "everything that is related to the game mode?" Because the "game mode" page only has the one option, to turn game mode on or off. I hit off then went to Xcom, still no 3d.

Did you turn off game bar? DVR? Also Google Game Mode, for problems and disabling. I've no idea what all is entailed.
I've no idea, I'm on W7 and do not have this game.
I am looking at Xcom 2: War of the chosen which was released today and unfortunately they have broken his fix a bit. am looking at it now. Game installs into it's own directory but most of the fix still works as long as you put the files in the right place, shadows broken though.
Necropants shared this information in another topic. Note that DJ-RK (the creator of the original great fix) is currently unavailable. I wish Necropants good luck - this game's new expansion DLC is getting excellent reviews. (Also, where is D-Man11? We miss you...)

I still don't buy this creators update thing regarding windows 10 and games. I have always had this issue on all versions of Windows 10. If anything Updating to creators update made things a bit more reliable.
Yes, the fix sadly is broken. But don't look to me for hope at this stage. I did take a look and thankfully at least alot of the fix still works, but it will need an update that's out of my current ability level.
They have obviously changed something regarding how the shadows work, and it maybe related to the performance improvements of the game. (it runs alot better in general) the weird thing is with the fix now the shadows are not in stereo anymore, but if you remove it at least the character ones are placed at the correct depth in the world.
I am getting confused because it seems like the shader that controls this is a Haloing/lighting one. it's also kinda hard ot track down as there are alot of shaders in the fix directory and he has labelled some and not others.
theres also a few other new lighting and haloing issues on the main title screen unsure how this translates into the game itself.
Also having a wierd issue with the gun torchlights which don't have a shader I can find for them at all. Its a real shame because apparently this is the ultimate version of this game.

Ah, that is a shame, like you say Necropants. Thank you though for taking a look.
It's also a shame that most of the original shader hackers have moved on. Hope they are all ok.
Love XCOM, over 400 hours on the first firaxis XCOM and over 370 hours with XCOM 2.
Both games are awesome in 3D.
Hopepuflly some light will shine on the problem you are having Necropants and the game can eventually be fixed fully.
I think this is now my third account at the Nvidia forums, all under different names, hardly post at all, but like to read the 3d Vision forums and keep updated.
Thanks once again to all the game fixes and fixers, much respect.

I'm only now finally going through the fist (I put it off because I'm aware of and sensitive of the "Evil Alien" narrative the Shadow Govt. has been trying to train the public with for the past few decades, with a Fake Alien Invasion looming fast on the horizon as the "elites" are running out of time and options with a failing socio-economic paradigm, mounting Black Swan events such as Houston and the threat of societal revolt, they need another 9/11 type false-flag event, and all bets are that this time it will be invoking an external threat from outer space) and I'm really enjoying the mechanics and game overall. It's nice in 3D, but I get fatigued with the glasses after a few hours and I'm also going through The Witcher 3 still so I'm thinking about switching this game back to 2D. But yeah it's nice to see both X-Com's have community 3D support, I will probably pick up the sequel as it's still on sale on Steam.

Nope, it's broken in both operating systems.
Unfortunately with my Job ending this month I don't have alot of time for games in general let alone looking at this game.
DJ-RK would need to get involved I suspect to fix this but he is very busy also and indicated was a bit burned out from the hours he spent fixing it the first time around. So is unlikely to revisit it. I also believe he never owned the game and used the one in the shared account for the fix. It's a shame it's sat dormant on my PC for the expantion because I can't bare to play it in 2D.
For what it's worth the game expac installed itself into a separate directory and if you apply the fix to it some previous elements that are now in stereo by default now actually break with the fix. (character shadows)
A few more shaders mainly shadows and lighting are now broken but things like the HUD and hotkeys still work.

Hi all, I'm having an issue after clean reinstalling the display driver to resolve other problems where I can't get his fix to work anymore as hitting F11 (in conjunction with Ctrl+Alt+F11 to disable compatibility mode or by itself) causes the game to become windowed. I've checked the input keys in the game to see if there is a way to disable this and I've also checked d3dx.ini to see if there is a relevant line that corresponds to this but no dice. I don't remember having this problem before and apparently this is the only game where this happens.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Update:
I believe I've managed to resolve the issue, apparently it may have been coming from the Advanced 3D Configuration Tool" setting "3D Windowed Mode Enabled". I've deselected that and now the fix works.
