Just Cause 2 Fullscreen issue
Hi there,

My problem:
Just Cause 2 is starting in window mode.
When I switch it to fullscreen, the green light on the IR emitter flashes and then it returns to window mode.
But as soon as i plug the emitter out (s3d is still enabled), the fullscreen option works.
If i plug in the emitter while in fullscreen the red text saying something about "not s3d compatible display mode" appears.

It's not the steam version (i allways try to avoid this crap :o)

My system:
intel q6600
asus p5q
2x 2 GB hyperX 1066
gtx280
win7 prof x64
driver cd 1.23

Any ideas?

PS: Metro 2033 runs fine. I LOVE it :)

Hi

This sounds like an application issue. If your c:\[user]\Documents\ folder, there is likely a Just Cause 2 folder. There should be an INI file there you can edit the fullscreen option for.

Thanks for the fast response!

There is a "JC2Settings" (no ending) but i can't open it with any editor.
I'm not sure that's what's causing the problem anyway, because I'm able to activate fullscreen, without the emitter plugged in.

I've tried a few things and one time I got the s3d info box, stating the game is "3D Vision Ready". My music was still running so i tapped out and back in -> 3d was gone, it was in window mode again.
But that was one try in about 50 and I wasn't able to reproduce this.
Thanks for the fast response!

I think this is a bug with the game itself. Every time I launch the game, I have to mess around with the resolution in order to get fullscreen mode to properly enable, so you're not the only one having this sort of issue. Hopefully there's a patch on the way pretty soon.

Try just pressing ALT-ENTER to force it back into fullscreen.

Hey, I'm suffering from the same issue. Finally, I'm not the only one.

I have more than 10 games installed in my machine and they all start in full screen mode. JC2 is the only one that starts in window mode. Hate that crap!!!!!
I've tried going into options, but full screen is already on and if I try to turn it off and turn it on again, it will remain in window mode.

I have to mess arround with the game's icon that stays in my Windows taskbar after I hit alt + tab. Then I keep pressing the game icon's in the taskbar and somehow the game enters full screen mode and I'm able to play it with 3d Vision without any issues.
Besides this annoying bug the game works flawlessly with 3D Vision.

I'll try pressing Alt + enter to see if it helps. I thought the full screen command was Crtl + F

I already tried Alt+Enter :( it just switches back to window

Edit: If I try to mess around with the icon in my taskbar like francomg did I sometimes get the game to switch to fullscreen, but even then it instantly switches back to window mode

I had this problem after tinkering with the resolutions and 3d vision. To fix it, just delete the settings file C:\Users\xxxxx\Documents\Square Enix\Just Cause 2\Saves\JC2Settings. On the next startup the game will rebuild this file and should be full screen.

I had the same issue, plus when I go back to fullscreen the emitter refuses to work.

I solved switching the option that makes games start without 3d, then when the game starts in window I put it in fullscreen and toggle 3d from emitter.
