Just a quick question, whenver I have 3D vision enabled my FPS in games take a massive hit (coincidentally to the same fps of a single GTX 560 TI) whether or not I'm actually using 3D or have it turned off via the IR emitter. The only solution I've found is to have Stereoscopic 3D disabled from the Nvidia Control Panel. While this effectively sorts out my problems with SLI it does of course mean I can't play my games in 3D. It seems I can only have 3D or SLI. Any help would be appreciated, probably just a setting wrong somewhere I guess...

Most likely a Vsync issue. What is your display's refresh rate?
Enabling 3D Vision forces Vsync On even if you have 3D Vision toggled off in-game with Ctrl-T. If you have a 120Hz panel this is less of a problem because you're still getting up to 120FPS, but generally you would still want to turn 3D Vision Off to avoid any input lag.
An easy way to turn 3D Vision On/Off without having to go into the Nvidia Control Panel is to go to Start > Programs > Nvidia Corporation > 3D Vision and from there, drag the two shortcuts to your desktop for Enable and Disable 3D Vision.

Thanks for that, I do have a 120hz monitor (Acer GD245HQ). I just find it odd that it goes to exactly the same framerate as a single card, in this case flickering between 18 and 19fps for this particular scenn. Which means that my £D setup is not benefitting at all from the extra card /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' />
EDIT: Also tried forcing Vsync off via the NVCP but made no difference

Yeah 3D Vision has its own frame lock/vsync independent of whatever in-game or driver Vsync. It will cap your FPS to 120 no matter what if you have 3D Vision enabled. It may also have a different SLI profile/setting for 3D Vision which is why you aren't seeing benefit in SLI even when 3D is toggled off in-game. Best practices are to just disable 3D using the shortcuts before you launch a game if you know you won't play that game in 3D.

Well yes but what if I want to play a game in 3D /blarg.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':/' /> I just have to accept that I will not get the use of the money I just spent? :( There must be a way to edit the SLI profile for 3D to get some benefit from it?

Sorry, not sure if I understand your problem here. If you are actually playing in 3D Vision, meaning 3D Vision enabled in NVCP and Ctrl-T to toggle 3D on (2 images), and you are getting roughly half performance of 2D SLI or equivalent of single card performance in 2D, then its working as expected and you are getting your money's worth. Without the 2nd card you may very well be getting even lower FPS in 3D with 3D enabled.
The SLI profiles for 3D Vision while running in 3D Vision are optimized to get the maximum performance while in 3D, not for normal 2D AFR. If you want maximum FPS in SLI the only way that is going to occur is if you disable 3D Vision. There's an easy way to toggle 3D Vision on/off in the NVCP by just placing those two shortcuts on your desktop and clicking on them prior to launching a game. This is really an either or situation, not both. You either get your money's worth while playing in 3D Vision or you get your money's worth while playing in 2D with SLI.

Fair enough, just seems like a bit of a pain to have to keep switching it off or on for games (tend to play two or 3 different games rather than just one long session) Ah well, thanks :)

Which means that my £D setup is not benefitting at all from the extra card
EDIT: Also tried forcing Vsync off via the NVCP but made no difference

Well yes but what if I want to play a game in 3D
Yeah 3D Vision has its own frame lock/vsync independent of whatever in-game or driver Vsync. It will cap your FPS to 120 no matter what if you have 3D Vision enabled. It may also have a different SLI profile/setting for 3D Vision which is why you aren't seeing benefit in SLI even when 3D is toggled off in-game. Best practices are to just disable 3D using the shortcuts before you launch a game if you know you won't play that game in 3D.
