Sure, we can still use the old drivers. And we can also get them as separate parts not part of the bundle.
I don't think they will stop working, even they don't ship them as part of the bundle.

I just checked if we can download the 3D vision driver separately from Nvidia.com or Geforce.com but it seems that downloading is not possible. Although 3D Vision can be selected in the driver list I always get the the message "No Drivers Found".
The only thing I know for sure is that you can't install those Geforce drivers which were released prior to the release of your graphics card. However I'm not sure if the same rule also applies to the 3D Vision driver.
For Nvidia it would be the next logical step to stop 3D Vision driver support for the commercial sector. But as said 3D Vision monitors are still sold so Nvidia will probably wait until they fade from the market.

If Nvidia is profit orientiated - and yes they are - they won't risk another step in the field of 3D. Also VR / AR is very unlikely because they already see that there is not much money to take from. So indeed, let's don't hold our breath there :D.
The only sector where you can make a lot of money with 3D is cinema. And why does it work there? Because people have no other choice - 90% of all movies are shown in 3D only ^^. Nobody complains about this and accepts to pay additional fees for fake 3D ;).

I do believe in glasses free 3D display in the future.
3D gaming will come back sooner or later.
vr is still at the lauch pit and it´s a long way to mass adaptation no matter that there is some better standalone hmd´s on the horizon. I have a feeling a new wave of personal theaters is going to happen in the mean while and it will atleast partially bring 3d back as long as they don´t stop making 3d movies.
as noone really seems to think gamers matter at all. Atleast when looking at new personal movie devices.
all of them lack the frame sequential support.

Did you guys see the gamer nexus metro exodus rtx on/off ?
lol atleast to me the rtx off looked similar or better in most of the scenes if we don´t count some object here and there. Specially the outsides the rtx on made the game look like washedout shit. And we all know what the frames were.
And i could not but laugh about many videos touting "4k extreme graphics" and they have the physX off...
Atleast in older metro games disabling physX was like taking an actor to a scene bypassing makeup.

If so, RTX is really awesome!
I cannot see any reason to say that RTX is bad. It exactly what it must do! Raytraced lighting! And is making things more realistic. (Yeah, I know, games FAKE lighting when rasterizing. What that means, if that you can pull effects that are FALSE in the Real-world... go wonder...)
I think RTX is the future!
(Edit: There is also quite a bit of misconception on how ray-tracing works. Seen a lot of videos, where people have no clue about it, but they criticise, on what they believe... Please don't join that group of "non-informed" people spreading "crap" around, like they did with 3D Vision - back in the day.)
Edit2: Realistic doesn't always mean, more beautiful :) As it is in real-life:) People are more attracted to "surreal" images then real life imagery (since we all see it and is "common").

In 2020 only 12 are planned and mostly animated.
It's slowly disapearing...
Fake 3D is only for real movies, animated are obviously already 3D. Also fakes are quite good now. 3D capturing was painfull and hard to exploit in small theater, were the screens was way to small and 3D was extremely flat. For 3D movies always go to the biggest screen and seat in the back to get the 3D streched to the maximum. Crosstalk in good teather room are almost invisible, you only can catch the projection room separation glass ghosting. And if it's an passive theater some screen may lacking of silver so it had shadow spots. But no crosstalk.
Here in France most theaters have abandoned 3D a long time ago... Was displayed in 3D in night projections only. Then almost nothing now.
Very hard to find movies in VO 3D. Definilty impossible in the second week... And I live in the second biggest town of France !
I'm forced to go in VF 3D projection to get 3D.
In my town we got some premium theaters like IMAX, Dolby (My absolute favorite) and ICE (CGR theater brand). Cost around 16 to 20€ for one people. ICE is smarter, it cost less in the morning 7€ and 12€ in the aftenoon before 19h (7pm).
15€ is 13£ or 17US$

RT is a good think (Maybe not for 3Dvision), but it should be used more. For now it's just a plus like PhysX was. RT allows to calculate behind what is see. I've watch every Nvidia press/keynotes. It is not yet exploited correctly but it could be.
The most valuable is the DLSS filter who add almost 20% more FPS. That's promessing.

Just rechecked how many movies currently are shown in 3D and it seems you are right! Only 3 movies are currently shown in 3D while all the others are in 2D only. I still assumed that most oft the movies were shown in 3D because in the last 5 years I was always forced to watch in 3D because the movies weren't shown in 2D. Or in best case on impossible times like 2 pm only ;).
That said it seems 2019 is the year where 3D fades from the cinemas. When 3D even disappears in cinemas we cannot expect Nvidia to hold the line and provide support for the 3D vision driver for the next 10 years.
