the beta 82.12 doesn´t work neither with 82.12 forceware or 84.20 drivers. The test images works fine, stereo3d activates perfectly fine in games but then I get hard locks...

I had to go back to 77.77 for the first combat flight sim and a few other older games but I'll be switching back for newer games.

What about Klingon Academy? Is that driver dependent as well?

KA was about the same as with the 77.77 drivers,I still think if you install it on a fat32 partition it will work for you, but DX5 games and lower crashed. Still no go with Starfleet Academy, driver turns on but allot of smearing.
The whole scene is flickering/flashing... (1 sec. Ok, some flashes, 2 secs. Ok, some flashes, 1 Sec. Ok, some flashes - and so on); so it´s ok for a short time-period (not fixed to 1 or 2 secs.), till i get this flashes

With this problem, fast writes has no effect for me.
V-Sync is on.
[post="75649"]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]
I see that problem only in OpenGL based games so far (Doom3 & Quake4) ... also the performance of those two titles is unacceptable.

Looks like we need a new driver ... ;)

Cheers,
Maggi

Well, I installed KA on a FAT32 partition, and I'm afraid I had the same results.

Do you have specific driver or game settings that might be making a difference? Any special compatibility settings? Is there a profile of some kind?

All help appreciated,

Chopper

Did some testing last night chopper, I found that if I tried to force AA or AF on, I would crash when turning stereo driver on. When I run AA and AF on application controlled, vert. sync on, quality and on 1024x768, all is well. I sure hope you can get KA working again.

I thought I almost had it - but no go.

It ran for about a minute, and rebooted.

There is no consistency to the reboots. Sometimes as soon as I hit CTRL-T, it reboots - other times it will last for 30 seconds, and reboot.

Something I did notice, though.

When ships cloak, they turn into a white square. Do you get this problem?

What are your ingame settings? Alternative clipping on or off? Detail levels?

You said you are set for quality in the NVIDIA driver - any optimizations turned on?

Maybe there is an incompatibiliy with the 6800GS versus your 6800GT.

Chopper

No white square problem with cloaked ship. I tried with Alternative clipping and particle emitters on but I did get a crash after about 20 min. The only thing I'm forcing on is Vert. sync.

Interesting that you aren't getting the white square issue. Perhaps there is an incompatibility somewhere.

Why aren't your game settings maxed out?

Woudn´t be a bad thing if Nvidia make a .doc or .txt with new releases, to explain what is corrected and what is corrupted with new drivers. I´m still using 77.77 combo because I have a 6800 TD, and I had to install newer combos to see that they wasn´t done thinking in my video card.

I´m loosing my illusions... seem that Nvidia want (?) but can´t do better.

Using the beta drivers now and offering some feedback. Using 82.12 stereo and 84.21 driver. My GPU is a 7800 GS OC: 3d Hardware - z800 3d driver

1) Oblivion, Battlefront II - Big white borders on the sides with a small clear view in the middle, which appears to be 3d. Pretty ugly

2) Doom3 - Full 3d but anything black on the screen remains and hangs in big ugly blocks. The 3d appears to work though.

3) Half Life - The one worked the best but still problems. Full 3d, but some garbage flashing in the middle of the screen every few seconds.

Later,

DRock

I'm using a different combination as per this thread:
http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=12527

the 81.98 whql driver & the 82.12 stereo works perfectly for me (7800gs AGP)
Well, nearly.
FEAR, HL2, GTL, LFS working all right
Exiting gtl with stereo on results in garbled screen that's all

have you tried Oblivion yet. That's the one I'd really like to work. I'll get rid of the 84.25 and switch to 81.98 and see if I have any better luck. Did you have to do anything special to get it to load? I thought that version didn't support the GS?
