What to disable in NFS: Shift to get the best effect?
Is it possible to adjust make it so that everything renders at the correct depth? I was messing around with some of the graphics options but with no real luck so far. It seems that no matter what there will always be some double vision, like on the tires during the drift replays for example. I even have tried different depth settings, but those really did not make much of a difference with respect to the 3d problems.

The problems are really not that bad, and the game is amazing in 3d, but it seems that older games look way better than the newer games when in 3d mode. I guess its all the new graphic options that are enabled in current games that are impossible to disable, the older games didn't have them so I'm guessing that is why they look better in 3d. Less is more when 3d is enabled...which is disappointing, but I have faith that things will improve in the near future.

Unfortunately there are not many driving games coming out this year....actually there are practically none along the lines of Shift, Grid, and Dirt 2. I think the next Codemasters game will be their F1 game, but other than that nothing has been announced that I know of. No Shift 2, and as far as I know the Race On series of games doesn't have anything new coming out either (a real sequel and not another expansion, its time for a new engine already!).

hmmm, thats strange, i was playing it last night 'out of the box' and it was perfect. no tweaks, no nothing and it was perfect.
extra depth 'hack', acer projector, x360 wheel.... it was a fantastic experience. the latest patch cleared up alot of the horrible handling too.

At first there was no profile for the game with 3D Vision, but the latest driver have one and it handles quite good. If you have not updated the game to the latest version and the 3D Vision drivers you probably should do that now and try running the game in S3D mode again to see if it is any better. Also you can do additional convergence tweaking if you do not like the default settings.

Im sorry mate. This isnt helpful but I too have had no problems with this game. In fact it is the first thing I show to people because it is so good. Two mates literaly said, on separate occasions, that they didnt think it would be this good.

I might have changed a setting but I dont think so. I will have a look after work.

I might have got rid of FOV but I would do that to every game because FOV is redundant because of S3D

I am running version 1.02 of the game and the 1.20 full cd drivers. Its nothing bad, but I do notice a few problems, maybe I have the depth too high?

What are you guys running for depth? 100%?

When you mention profiles for games, are you talking about in the nvidia control panel? Or are you talking about the message that comes up when the game is first started saying the rating that nvidia has given the particular game? So if there was no profile, it would say game not rated or something along those lines right? If thats the case, then there is a profile loaded, because it says the nvidia rating is good when I hit alt+ctrl+ins.

Hello again

I have just noticed some issues which you mentioned. Smoke from the tires. I guess I have never noticed this because I do not play drift and I always use the driverseat view. (Should be the law for this game because it works.) Consequently I rarely notice this effect. So sorry dude - yeah. :(

I always play racegames and FPSs at 100% depth. (Also should be law.)

I love that view as well, BUT...I think that in 3D its a little too far away, so I always use the over the hood view to get the best 3d effect. I would imagine that if I was using a monitor instead of a TV the in car view would be perfect, but as things are, the hood view works best to me at least (and I'm less than 6' away from the 60"). Like I said, the problems are small, but still annoying considering there are so few good racing games out there.
