It is still flaky, for example, if I enable, disable, enable, it still freezes the computer.
But at least it's a start!
I do have some more questions, though, now regarding the adjustments.
I'm using Edimensional glasses.
I was playing GTR 2 for about 30 minutes, and tweaking the settings with Ctrl F3,F4
and Ctrl F5,F6.
About 30 minutes into it, messing with the settings, suddenly, I am able to see the depth better than ever before. The depth is exceptional for objects that are close as well as far. I'm amazed at how good everything looks. So I hit the hot key to "save" the settings.
I exit out, start up GTR 2 again, but it locks up. So I reboot, try GTR 2 again, hoping when I enable the stereo again, it will be that same intense sense of depth. Well, now I can't really lock onto the 3d'ness of the image, so I'm kind of seeing double vision. So I adjust the settings more. It's frustrating to have had such an awesome sense of depth, and then lose it.
Any ideas on why that is, if it's just my brains ability to lock on, or is my computer not truly saving and restoring my 3d settings?
I get frustrated because I think the 3d is so awesome, but it takes so much effort for me to get it to work. I think if I knew that the stereo settings were reliably as good as they were for those 5 minutes when everything was just right, I would be highly motivated to save up for one of thos iz3d monitors.
I'm very appreciative of your help just to get it working, thanks!
If you have any suggestions/ideas on these further questions, please let me know.

Every game thta works on other cards works on 7600GT aside from Oblivion, which does crash and reboots computer when stereo is toggled.
Try uninstalling all grafix and stereo drivers, bootng in safe mode and using a cleaning utility to remove all traces of the driver.
Then boot into normal mode, install forceware drivers, reboot, install stereo drivers, and hopefully it should now be working.

Hi Rage,
I reinstalled Windows, I downloaded also all update from Microsoft, I installed NForce driver and Geforce graphic drivers 93.71 and stereo drivers 91.31 but situation is same.
System behaves strange. Test application works perfect but Sturmovik does not work properly. If I run it in OpenGL mode it crashed immediately and whole desktop screen is flickering. There is only way to restart computer. If I run it in Direct X mode the game ignore every attempt to toggle stereo. I try to switch of all post processing however I do not know if I switch off all. But strange thing is that I have seen several times stereo effect in Sturmovik when I plaid with resolution it randomly works for while moment in OpenGL. But I can not say that for some low resolution works. Simply it works some times but I was not able repeat it.
If I install the new system I tried also Alpine Skiing game. At beginning game was not running in stereo mode. But I do not know what happened but it suddenly started to work. Sometimes it happened that it did not work again. (Nothing happened when I toggled Ctrl T). Can it happen that I can get out from stereo parameters and due to these reason stereo stop to work?
I am not expert in gaming mainly I want to use stereo for developing of own applications using of 3Dblitz or others but I need to my system works also for some games.
Before I use ATI with edimensional universal drivers instead of NVidia (rest of hardware was same) and behavior of system was opposite. Games (IL Sturmovik and others) work perfectly but application devolved by Blitz or World Vizard does not work. Now it is opposite.
Can it be any collision between NForce platform and Forceware drivers? Or can be any relevant drivers missing? Do you have any hints?
Thank you very much in advance.

nathansteinke, It might be that your glasses are inverted. This would mess things up quite well. When you think you should be getting stereo and you arnt, flip the glasses upside down and see if you get 3D.
Also, a good idea is to take the glasses off and lok at the double image without the,. Now, look at a distant object and use ctl+f3/f4 to adjust that FAR object till it is about an inch apart on the screen.
Now, look a the clossest object on the screen. Use ctl+f5/f6 to adjust this untill it becomes one, ie touches. This will make close objects at screen depth.
Nof when you put on your glases, you should be getting a good stereo image. It is a good place to start before you do other tweaking.
If you cant get far objects to seperate AND close objects to touch then there is definately something wrong. It HAS to beone of these things.
Radek, I am sorry my friend but I have never played the game. There are a fw games out there which just blatently refuse to work in stereo. Try posting in the stereovision forum. Many more stereogamers visit there than do here.

Rage, I've experimented more with GTR 2 and think I have found a consistently good setting, but will need more experiments to be sure.
Using your recommendations...
I start off from a view in the car. A signpost is about 200 feet away.
I use the F3/F4 to make the two images of the signpost 1 inch apart.
Then I use F5/F6 to make the steering wheel images (which is 1 foot from my "eyes" in the game) about 1 inch apart. If I make them 1inch apart and try that view and the 3d effect isn't so great, I move the steering wheel images 1inch apart in the other way (use F5/F6 so the images meet, crossover, and then separated by 1 inch )
If "W1" and "W2" are the two images of the wheel
W1 <-- 1 inch --> W2
if that doesn't give a good 3d effect, then I will use F5 F6 to swap them so it it like
W2 <-- 1 inch --> W1
and that does look good.
One looks good, the other doesn't give as good of a 3d effect.
Does that make sense? I hope so.

Every game thta works on other cards works on 7600GT aside from Oblivion, which does crash and reboots computer when stereo is toggled.
Try uninstalling all grafix and stereo drivers, bootng in safe mode and using a cleaning utility to remove all traces of the driver.
Then boot into normal mode, install forceware drivers, reboot, install stereo drivers, and hopefully it should now be working.

nathansteinke, It might be that your glasses are inverted.
I hope that helps.

W1 <-- 1 inch --> W2
if that doesn't give a good 3d effect, then I will use F5 F6 to swap them so it it like
W2 <-- 1 inch --> W1
and that does look good.
One looks good, the other doesn't give as good of a 3d effect.
Does that make sense? I hope so.
