[quote="eqzitara"]EDit 2: OOO.. Shaders dump one level up. Put dx9settings.ini there as well. Newest debugger doesnt work but second does.
Im on a break so Im not going to be looking at game myself[even though I plan to look at some other games soon] and I doubt I can fix those shadows regardless. I only really have a shot if shadows are "off" rather then 2D.
Menu is kind of a simple fix, with some effort.
Just download helix's fix for ME3. Delete his shaderoverride folder. Click O adjust convergence/depth at menu, save with F7. Gameplay save to P with F7. Use xpadder/joy2key for controller[thumb sticks]. I kind of doubt menu itself will be fixed because thats not hud. Thats a physical model put WAAAY to close to camera. [God knows how many textures/shaders then you have to hope they don't use that any of those textures throughout the game][/quote]
I can't get shaders to dump. I have the DLL in the bin directory. If I don't put it there it does not load. I have DX9Settings.ini in the bin directory, but a copy in the CastlevaniaLoS_Demo directory as you suggest.
The following debug DLLs load:
2-10-12
3-4-12
4-1-12
...they create a dumps folder in the bin directory but do not dump any shaders.
The following debug dll doe snot load:
3-5-13.
So what else do I need to do?

Goes in /CastlevaniaLoS_Demo/bin/
Dx9settings/shaderoverride/dumps [dx9settings not needed till you start working] goes in /CastlevaniaLoS_Demo/
Debug goes bin, everything else one level up.

Thanks I'll try it out later (though going on vacation for 10 days tomorrow so actually someone else might get it done before I get back). There aren't that many shaders (well, after playing with RE6 everything seems to have a small number of shaders now) and I found shaders for the smoke doubling, light doubling, water/reflections, and shadows. Unless the game code is a mess, I could probably do the first three, but shadows I do not have much luck with unfortunately. They can be turned off in game though. Game needs separate presets for menus and gameplay as well. The demo is really short as well, so who knows if the full game has different shaders for every scene, but making the demo look good would be a good indicator for the full game.

If your still planning on working on it..
I did seperate the book out. I went to play demo and I thought about it. I really doubt any object gets THAT close to camera. So in theory I figure its possible to seperate by distance from camera. I played the values as tight as I could so I didnt effect other stuff. Can play looser on values so page turning looks accurate after its fixed. The reason I went tight on values is cause Im not sure what supposed to be broken so its hard to tell if I break anything by forcing 2D. Just need to tweak values after game has effects fixed and in theory it should be possible to seperate out.

Hmmm, interesting game in 3D and I had to turn off shadows. Does feel much like a button masher though. It does have high production value with cut scenes and voice acting. The 3D looked pretty good with the exception of some of the problems, shadows, reflections etc...The demo was very short though and was not enough to hook me in. I am on the fence with this one, but depending the reviews and player feedback, this might be a purchase. God, I remember play Castlevania years and years ago, man have we come a long way with technology...and I am getting old....LOL

The demo is not great representation of the game at all.
It was quite a well received game, mostly technical problems, but that should not be a problem to the pc version.
Regarding the demo and several gameplay videos this game looks very promising to me. I've tried to find the shaders for reflections and some (dynamic?) light sources that cause issues but I couldn't detect them... I hope that the game can be fixed nevertheless especially as the following part LOS 2 could be very interesting, too:

yeah i would rebuy it on PC but only with 3d vision working...
i have spent many, many hours on this game but replaying/buying it only for higher resolution isnt enough for me

Demo steam://install/238510 It doesnt look as amazing as I was hoping in 3d. Maybe it needs some tweaking. Im having an issue that keeps 1080p at 24hz rather then the 120hz i get with tridef so dont take my opinion to heart.
