Thank you DJ-RK, I tried it last night, looks very good especially after I added the Reshade preset you indicated. The standard motiuon blur made me sick.
This game is so demanding. Running it on high 1440P is impossible on my Gtx 1080 I get like 24-40 FPS.
I have to use Upscaling to be able to run it at decent frame-rate.

How linear is this game, does it have any meaningful exploration? Is this more like an interactive movie (which is the vibe i'm getting here unfortunately)..

Damn, I wrote a long detailed message about my low fps issue but the stupid forum decided that it's an invalid action, WTH.
I'm getting 20-23 fps in 2D at the beginning of the game, in front of the university, directly looking at it. In 3D 18-20. When looking at the opposite side fps increases to 40-50 in 2D.
My system is GTX 980 with 372.90, corei7 2700k@3.9 GHz, 16 GB RAM, win7.
Currently playing at high settings, lowering settings or making some advised tweaks (like increasing CPU priority) makes no meaningful change.
Even with GTA 5 and JC3 I don't have performance issues like this. I'm getting more fps in 3D with these games than QB in 2D
I know my CPU is old but not weak. Am I wrong? People with i5 getting much more fps than me. What am I missing?
Edit: After removing the 3D Vision fix my low fps issue fixed. Now I'm getting 50-65 fps in 2D, 30-40 fps in 3D when looking at the university.
Reinstalled the 3D Vision fix and fps stuck at 18-23 again, it doesn't matter if the game is in 2D or 3D.
It seems like the 3D Vision fix causing troubles for my system. How can I fix this issue?
Edit 2: Installing newest driver with clean install didn't help, still the same.

It is a pretty linear game. It's not a complete corridor experience, but for the most part you are funneled in the correct direction fowards. Honestly, that was rather preferable to me. My biggest gripe that's kinda related to this is there's a ton of interesting narrative text to find (emails, notes, etc) that really fleshes out a lot of the details of the story, but it seems the game really doesn't want you to read any of it because you'll usually have some side character continuously yapping away telling you to hurry up (or when no one else is around even Jack won't keep his frigging mouth shut).

I just tested this myself. Outside the university with the fix installed, I was getting about 29-30 FPS looking at the entrance, and removing the fix I'd get around 30-33. Did you follow ALL of the instructions on the blog page, including all the optional NVidia Control Panel settings? Those might help if you haven't. Or if you did do everything there, then maybe you also installed the Reshade package and maybe you need to uninstall that. Only other thing I can suggest is that this game is supposedly CPU intensive. I'm running on a Skylake CPU at 4.7GHz, so maybe try overclocking your CPU. That's the best I can offer for suggestions, outside of that only thing I can say is if you want to play in 3D with the fix, that's the tradeoff is that it does use up a little extra performance (although not as much as you're reporting on my own rig), so try lowering your settings or turn Upscaling on, because even the lower settings in this game look pretty damn good, and low settings on 3D definitely look better than high settings in 2D.

Yes, I followed the guide step by step and after that tried every possible combination of settings with or without Nvidia Control Panel, but not helped.
Lowered settings to the minimum with upscale enabled, only gained 2-4 fps.
I feel like there's some incompatibility with the fix or something wrong with my system. Or it's just as you say, my CPU can't handle the overload that fix is adding.
Edit: I forgot to add, in my original post I said that I'm getting the same fps in 2D and 3D with 3D Vision fix applied.
Is it same for you?

Game needs high performance GPU.

With your tweaks in the driver micro stuttering is completely gone, great.

@DJ-RK, tried verifying game cache, no change.
@ronrebell, My gpu usage is around 30-50%. So my issue is not about weak GPU or very high fps.
For clarification and prevent confusions about my issue:
Without 3D Vision fix: (High settings)
fps in 2D = 50-65
fps in 3D = 30-40
With 3D Vision fix: (High settings)
fps in 2D = 19-23
fps in 3D = 18=22
With 3D Vision fix: (Lowest settings and upscale)
fps in 2D = 20-25
fps in 3D = 19=23
GPU usage:
With the 3D Vision fix - 30-50% (in both 2D and 3D)
Without the 3D Vision fix - 90-99%
CPU usage is around 50-60% with the fix or without the fix. So I don't think there's a cpu bottleneck with the 3D Vision fix.
- Guide is followed step by step
- Tried with and without optional Nvidia Control Panel settings.
- Tried with or without "set game exe priority to high"
- Tried with or without "prefer maximum performance" in NCP
- Tried with Fraps, MSI Afterburner, Aida64 on or off
- Tried with disconnecting my Logitech G19 keyboard, if it's screen causes any issues
- Tried with enabling Nvidia Control Panel's "Debug" mode
- Tried verifying Steam Game Cache
- Never installed Reshade package
- Tried driver clean install
this is the only game giving me this absurd issue. And I have lots of games and tried most of the AAA titles with their 3D Vision fixes.
With 3D Vision fix looks like something drag GPU usage and prevent it to go any higher, not the cpu, something else I guess. Similar like Directx 12's 3D Vision reaction, when 3D Vision enabled from Nvidia Control Panel (not in game) fps dips like crazy.
I'm sorry for the long post, but I tried to be very clear.

Do other games have the same results ? also create a signature with your hardware
Did you scan for bit-miner virus ?
Just tried The Crew, everything works normal. GPU usage is at max with high or lower settings.
Don't have bit-miner viruses or any kind, using Kaspersky for a long time and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
I wrote my system in my first post, but will update signature.
Ok, so we've basically confirmed it's not the fix itself that's causing the performance, it's the wrapper itself in combination with this game. Again, I'm thinking that your CPU is bottlenecking things here. You should easily be able to get that 2700K up to 4.5Ghz (I got my old 2500K to do that on auto settings), really no reason why you shouldn't be doing that already. I think that'll do the trick for you.

fps in 3D = 30-40

In 3D (with upscale, high settings) = 29-30 fps
In 2D (with upscale, high settings) = 35 fps
Also tried with optional Nvidia Control Panel settings on, same as above.
