For Descent fans: Just came across a successor and the real news is?
In search of Descent series' 3D Vision compatibility (ie DirectX 9 patch) I strayed to Interplay website forum (Descent publisher) and whatdaya know, among the many threads that beg, threaten, and blackmail Interplay into producing another Descent sequel there is this mention of a Indi game called "Miner Wars" that sports 6DOF gameplay. I promptly went to its website and the moment I saw their pre-alpha access/ pre order offer I jumped on it.
So what's the word, you ask?
What else? Anygame if not S-3D compatible is not worth getting I say. And this game in this Pre-Alpha state already works with 3D Vision with no anomalies of any kind. Granted it's only more of a game engine demo than a level design demo at this time but the feeling of 6DOF really gives me flashbacks. A definite must have for any Descent fan.
