I can't really see that. The 970/980 cards have been out for how long? I doubt there are many people like me who resisted them. It's more of a manufacturing issue. Which is why AMD hasn't released a new node card yet either. If it was possible to have released them already, AMD would have exploited Nvidia sitting on their hands like that.
As you point out, however, these things always just appear out of thin air. Probably so they can easily clear old stock without impacting prices. I'm still cautiously optimistic about May.

BTW Epic is still Live Streaming today, the stuff they are showing is pretty unreal.

The UE4 trailer clip montage/sizzle reel was pretty damn hype.

Mobile games have come a WAYS. I watched some of those clips and looked down expecting console/pc. I guess its resolution was increased but still.

Freaking amazing;) Unreal Engine still is a "kick-ass" engine is one of my favorite engines to work (develop) in.
Really really awesome;)

The Lab seems pretty amazing. Most glowing preview yet:

People seem to think there are 12 unlocked areas in total. Basically seems like the NintendoLand of VR (if NintendoLand wasn't an absolute failure and actually showed why you'd want a WiiU.)
So glad Valve wasn't dumb enough to waste their time on a singular experience that didn't fully exploit VR. Experiment with small concepts, publish them as an experience, and then take those lessons learned and use if for singular projects.
Too many people don't understand that there's very little application between 2D gaming knowledge and VR. Often the best 2D stuff is a physical nightmare in VR and the things that seem boring are amazing in VR.

Chronos looked intriguing since I am a RPG fan but then I am thinking, it's a 3rd person game and would probably look amazing on the 3D gear I already own.

Easy solution if it uses standard USB2.0/3.0, just get a 16 Ft repeater cable which will give a total of 30 ft. These can be daisy changed for even further distances or another option is to use a CATx USB extender which can get into the hundreds of ft. I am in the business of IT products and the USB extender dongles just use standard Ethernet cables and get up to a 50 meters. No limitation there, besides, a large accessory market for VR will a emerge. The first wave of VR offerings looks like one big test chamber and the early adopters are the guinea pigs. VR still needs another few years in the oven, it's being taken out like a meat pie that is partially cooked and still has frozen parts in the center.

Pretty cool that they're capturing her face stereoscopically... "there's actually a point which represents the lower jaw reconstruction"... hmmm, convergence? :)
