Setting up NVidea 3D Vision 2 on my Gaming Rig
  2 / 2
Cool. thanx for the Chrome tip. I would rather prefer to enable the stereoscopic 3D setting on. Another thing i wanted to ask is, What is the best practice when it comes to charging the Wireless Glasses? I play games only on weekends, so during the week, i just keep them aside. Will the charge hold for the entire week? Or its better to charge them before playing? Also when is a good time to charge the glasses? When the light is Green? or When the light is RED (2 hours of gaming) or when its totally drained (it wont turn off)? A Rant on these glasses I read in many places that these glasses dont charge and sometimes the Amber light keeps flickering during charging even after 4 hours! I found that behavior in one of my glasses too! The glass would not power on. Then i left it charge on the mains (not USB) and that too overnight. The next morning, during charge Amber light kept flickering. I thought the glass needed to be replaced. Then i pressed the power button and now it turned on and i could see the green light. This is weird behavior. I thought the Amber light will stay on to tell me that the battery is charged. I wonder whats going on. For Lots of people, the glasses never turn on! NVidia charges 50+ $ for these glasses and they should atleast be thoroughly tested! OK. Rant over!

-Can click the link in my tag for clips. -Convergence might not work in avatar. I honestly forget, its a bit of special circumstance. Normally you hold down key for up to 20 secs and screen will start to shift. Normally games use - "3D vision software" Some games like Avatar - "Use there own 3d software". Meaning Depth/Convergence are controlled by game. "Ussually" you can still adjust depth normally in these games but not convergence. -Charge holds very long. TBH, I don't charge it till its dead. If it dies mid-session I use glasses while charging then leave plugged in till full charge. --------------------- Depth/convergence tolerance comes with time normally [as long as your display isn't ghosting/ "double images".] Also the higher the convergence you use the less depth you can handle normally. Patience, stick to what your comfortable with and give yourself some time before increasing. Lots of people rush and go all in as some users are forgetting. Then give up on 3D due to headaches/eye strain. Experiment slowly, everyone is different. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4gfSiRkjlY&t=0m28s 0:28

I charge my glasses probably once every 2-3 weeks, with about 20 hours of 2d gaming a week.

In Avatar if you increase the depth and convergence with the NVidia hotkeys it can sometimes mess up the HUD and minimap, the textures split apart so you have to use the games own 3D settings in the video options. If you just tap your convergence increase key it will make no difference to any game unless you tap it maybe 100x, you have to keep the key held down for anywhere from 3-30 seconds depending on the game and the settings you want. Just keep it pressed down the whole time until it's just right. As for glasses charge, mine usually last me a week between charges, and I use them for probably 3-6 hours a night. I have 2 pairs, so when one goes flat I charge them and wear the others.

Hey guys, I played Avatar for couple of hours! I used the in game 3D settings and i was comfortable at a depth setting of 0.3-0.5 I absolutely luv it. With these 3D glasses and a headphone, i really was transported to Pandora - with the alien plants, TALL trees, weird creatures! Its just stunning walking in the jungle! I spent 1 hour just walking and exploring in the lush greens! I hope Kendra is not pissed :P Some observations after playing in 3D a) There definitely is a noticeable difference while playing in 3D as compared to 2D. Its more immersive. You feel like you are actually walking on a path with the plants around you. b) Objects 'popping out of the screen' When i played Avatar, I did not get any true 3D effects like objects/creatures popping out of the screen. When i ran the Stereoscopic 3D Test and the words NVidia pops out beautifully! I tested increase in depth, convergence etc! I was just blow away by the 3D depth. The words come right at you! But i dont get such pop out effects in Avatar. Is is because of the game? Are the 'pop out' effects based on the implementation and it varies by each game? c) I play Pro Evolution Socccer 2014 and tried it out in 3D. I could notice the difference, the players are more life like and u feel u r in the stadium. But i did not feel the need to play sports games like PES in 3D. What bout you guys? Do you play stuff like PES, FIFA, Madden in 3D? Do you guys enjoy it? d) What bout Real Time strategy games? Games which have a top view! Do you guys recommend playing them in 3D? Am thinking Age of Empires 2 - HD
