Vision 3D top of screen severe ghosting

it would seem the ideal solution would be to shutter the glasses from top to bottom, as well as allow manual synchronization adjustment.

I've run into same situation. The monitor is ViewSonic VX2268wm. I've got 2 rigs: AMD and Intel based. With AMD Motherboard/CPU ( same monitor/card ) I get severe ghosting at the top of the screen. When I plug the card/monitor into the intel rig, top ghosting disappears completely.

This is definately a sync issue.

I fixed it. After a long year of frustration and EXTREME ghosting at the top of my viewsonic.

Why don't nVidia just give us some god damn sync controls, it would result in a lot of people having a better 3D experience. Every screen is different, they all have different amounts of input lag and pixel response. One size fits all just doesn't work for sync.

I've pretty much stopped using 3D due to the ghosting, and if I stop using 3D then I can get an ATI card next time. That is afterall what 3D Vision is all about for nVidia - tying people down to an nVidia card.

Give us sync controls, but put them in an 'advanced' screen most people won't mess with, with a EULA/disclaimer if that's what it takes.

I'm new to the forums. I have read this whole thread because I own an Asus VG236H with the 3D kit and I was about to return it (it arrived yesterday) because I have that problem too. The upper third of the screen hasn't ghosting, it simply has double image. After a lot of work I finally made it work, more or less, without significant ghosting. And it was because of fellow forum member smokiedabong that gave me the idea. He says that the USB on the motherboard is making some delay. I own a Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD4, I tried almost everything in the bios, but one thing worked: disabling USB 2.0.

That isn't good, of course, so right now I'm using the IR receiver connecter to an old USB 1.1 hub I had and it is working. I has some ghosting, but I think it's just the usual one, and distributed through the whole picture.

Anyone trying to decide whether or not to buy 3D Vision should do so knowing that it is a gamble on whether you are one of the lucky ones with a system that has timing within the NVidia specifications. If not, you'll just have to live with it, apparently.

I do not get 3d effects at the top 20% of my screen. In other words, I see both the left and right screens in both eyes of the glasses at the top of the screen, but only the left/right screen in the left/right eye for the rest, with a small transition area between them. The rest of the screen is great, with full 3D effect. There are many good example pictures of this in the forum, photographed through the glasses.

This is NOT contrast ghosting. It is NOT a fault of the monitor (other than possibly having timing off from the whatever value NVidia assumes). It is due to a lack of synchronization between the glasses and the monitor. Is it possible to include a slider bar to tweak the sync? Or any way for the user to fine tune the timing? If not, why? This issue has been present since the introduction of 3D Vision and has not gone away. Please explain why this is so. I expect more from NVidia.

Now that would be a great xmas, waking up xmas morning to tear free stereoscopic gaming. Keep this going, im rooting for you. Its not like your asking for a instant fix, or not at the time of the original posting lol. My screen has gotten worse as i upgrade if that dont beat all. Good thing that there is some compitition out there now. I for one am looking for other alternatives to what Nvidia offers. It should not be this hard, not this far into it.

Any progress yet? I just got 3D Vision with the Ben-Q XL2410 screen for christmas, and i'm sorry to say that i have the same problems as everyone. I have no 3D effect on the top of my screen (1/4 of the screen or so). Anyone knows if this has to do with the monitor, the 3D-Vision glasses or just a software bug from NVIDIA?
Come on NVIDIA! You got 18 pages (++) here with a lot of users trying to figure this out, why not help us? Can't be that hard, at least you should have warned us about this before we pay 400$ on this /wallbash.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wallbash:' />
