I'm pretty happy with my ATI 6970. It took a bit of work to get it going with IZ3D, but I'm now enjoying 3d gaming. Those guys are doing some good work. I'm not sure how it rates next to nvidias product, but I think it's great. Hey no-vidia, thanks for supporting your product. It's absolute horse crap. I feel cheated for buying your video card now. Have a great day.

I'm allso a unhappy nvidia customer as i moved from ati to nvidia for the sole purpuse of 3d play which has never come, that makes me very unhappy as i forked out alot of cash for nothing really.
So after waiting for what seemed dobneys years i purchased tridef and have been a happy 3d'er ever since.

Now what gets me is all you guys that are ditching your nvidia cards and going ati for there 3d are in for a shock, i do'nt understand how your going to get 3d???

It seems like this to me, with nvidia card you have to purchase iz3d or tridef, with ati you still have to purchase iz3d or tridef, so why not save the cash and stay with your cards but just get a different s3d program.

I'll just stick with the card i have and when it's time to upgrade i'll take whatever from who ever for the best price/performance.
if you look back at a few posts of mine you will see i was'nt happy but after a think i do'nt see any piont in spendingg more money just todo the same stuff that can be done with the cards we allready have.

Am i missing something here

Yes, these people who put things like i just sold my 7 480's and 5 580's and bought AMD's are just lying, they didnt swap or sell anything and need to go away and learn how to be patient. 3DTV play is not out because it does not work properly, there is loads of incompatability problems with the beat which i have been using for months. Its a totally different system to 3d vision. Performance is the main thing that suffers, FPS are lower on 3dtv play at 720p than they are with 3d vision at 1080p. So why would they release it yet just to satisfy about 50 forum users.

I agree, but it would be nice to be updated on the progress. Many of us have spent thousands of dollars to get ready for 3DTV Play (It's the sole reason I got a 3DTV). This situation reminds me all too much of Creative with Vista drivers. They simply didn't respond or give any updates to their customers and it made a rather large impact.

I'm completely willing to wait for a finished product (with minimal bugs), but I think a little update weekly would be nice.

I hear ya and totally repsect what you are saying having spent tons of cash myself but again we have to realise that this user 2 user forum isn't the place for finding out official info like that, the worst thing Andrew Fear ever did was post in here as it just offers hope of an insight which i believe he's not really allowed to give or just not ready to give. We know he's working on it and i'm sure if any significant progress was being made he'd love to come here and tell us. It just annoys me seeing all the people saying they are never buying anything Nvidia again because 3DTV play wasn't released when Andrew unofficially said it would be. Just got to be patient and wait for the working product guys come on!

Now then Mr T Gunn, I'm pretty sure the issue here is not with 50 inpatient forum users but with the fact that NVIDIA have not updated anyone as to why, yet again the release date has been broken, especially as many have waited a hell of a long time for this and some may have even invested in new hardware expecting to be using this 3DTV Play - this year! As the release date drew close, I read posts here saying how forum members were sceptical about the mid to late November release, Andrew from NVIDIA replied saying don’t worry, its coming on time (or to that effect). People can be wrong, we are human & things don’t always go to plan but to disappear and not update the people you offered assurances too is pretty damn ignorant – do you not think?

People do not like being lied to, people, in general will be more receptive to an honest statement from the horse’s mouth, stating that there are issues which have pushed back the release but will result in what they believe to be a more stable, polished product. That would more than suffice...and is something most poeple could understand.

Now, if you were in my shoes and had buying power in large institute with an equally large computer estate what would you think? Would you sit down and make a positive recommendation about a company who isn’t being honest about their products, release dates and compatibility issues? Would you recommend that your company then spend tens or even hundreads of thousands of pounds on equipment which contained hardware of that brand - would you? I doubt it.

I have no plan to sack off my current GFX card in some futile act of spite, I did have plans to upgrade it, plans which as the silence continues are likely to change. I'm sure there are others in this situation as well.

Feel free to defend NVIDIA as much as like, I sure hope you get paid to do this. If your right about poor FPS rates @ 720p being behind the delay then great but please lets hear from NVIDIA, officially and not from you (no offense).

The people doing what you said is what i'm responding to, nothing else, nothing more.

Where the hell have i defended Nvidia? Did Nvidia tell you it was coming late Novemeber or did Andrew? he unofficially represents Nvidia here so his word is as viable as yours or mine, doesn't matter. Fact is we have never had any 'official' release date. Trust me when i tell you its bugged to hell at the moment, i have a Panny vt20 and a samsung p50s680 and multiple computers around my 'estate', 3Dtv play operates exactly the same on all of them.... poorly. Its just not ready yet. Of course that is my opinion and make of it what you will but one thing i will gurantee you all is that it is nowhere near as good an experience as 3d vision on my 1080p AW so don't expect much.

You cannot be lied to by a company because one employee came on an unofficial user to user forum and said "£$%%£%"% is coming out in Novemeber".

As for the people who bought the vision kit just so they could get the emitter and use 3dtv play right now -- they are stuck with a useless pair of 3d glasses that came with the kit. Don't you think nvidia could have and should have sold the emitter by itself, or at least have told us about the delay? Do you think they will buy back their useless 3d glasses or offer something else as compensation? I'm betting NO!

Quite frankly, if i went out and spent £100 just to sample a beta, i wouldn't be worried about losing money. Thats just plain crazy, unless you can afford it but then they shouldn't moan about it (if they are?)

The impression one may precieve from your posts are that you are very 'Pro' NVIDIA (nothing bad in that), you are quick to state that there has never been a offical release date and that people should 'accept' the lack of updates from NVIDIA to the point you have stated people should "go away". My deepest apologies if this is not the case, it just very much appears that way.

Before we further digress from the subject in hand and in much debate

http://pressroom.nvidia.com/easyir/customrel.do?easyirid=A0D622CE9F579F09&version=live&prid=676093&releasejsp=release_157

Seems offical to me with the release timeframe bullet pointed and underlined. I've not seen any updates since this... This is many poeples complaint - it's now, as I'm sure you are aware, December.

I hate joining forums to complain, but this situation has gone past being just tardy, I am not phoning a premium line to make enquiries about broken release dates which could easily be updated on 3DTV Play home page, so I guess the 'offical' NIVIDA forum (here, i think...) would be the correct place to express my disatisfaction. Where else is there? At least someone from NVIDIA may read this.... mighten they.....

In light of that link i hold my hands up because that is about as official as you can get from Nvidia i agree. But, back to my original complaint, its not me defending Nvidia at all, just having my 50p's worth at the people posting rubbish about selling all their green gear which i'm sure you don't disagree with me on. I stand corrected about officiality (is that a word?) but my other points i stand by, performance is rubbish, reliability is rubbish. It is still a beta and that is a fact!

This place is not the official NV forum, they don;t have one, time and time again people post here believing this is the place to get answers, but those answers will come purely from other users, hence my point about Andrew should never have posted here (He was trying to help, but cannot commit himself here). NV are too multinational to offer free technical advice in forums, they are all about the money.

Remember i am in the same boat as everyone here, i want a working product though and i am prepared to wait for it, maybe i am a bit more patient being as i have sampled 3dtv play and know where it stands? And i do hope someone from NV reads your first post, if that doesn't pull at the strings, nothing will.

"I have no plan to sack off my current GFX card in some futile act of spite"

1. Nvidia did annonce the release date.
2. Nvidia users who were expecting the 3DTV Play software were very excited and started to wait from mid-Nov. They visited Nvidia's website and forum time to time to see if there is any update.
3. During that period, Andrew from Nvidia told us be patient, it will be released very soon, as Nvidia already stated "Coming in mid-late November 2010".
4. We were very patient and Nov passed. Noting released. Nvidia never say anything about 3DTV Play. The website was not updated. Andrew ignores any post about 3DTV play standalone software.
5. Result: we are 3DTV played, played by Nvidia.

I think delay again and again is still acceptable, as there maybe some unexpected technical issue exist. However, the attitude of Nvidia really makes their supporters angry. They pretend nothing happened and do not response to their customers. As a big company, at least they should say something about the status, or the next checkpoint. Franky I wish they now announce 3DTV play is a vaporware rather than saying nothing. They are now wasting the time of people who are waiting the software.
