How to fix/disable shaders in games(DLL,guide and fixes).

Don't feel bad. I spent countless hours and I am next to useless lol. Helix's fixes are in a different language to me. Decided I would focus on helping people getting it running/web-site.

I'm really sorry.

I know you don't like these questions but I have isolated the VS and wish to push the HUD element back a little, but I have no idea how to do it. I did have a lookie at Helix's patient and perfectly good explaination but I still got lost as my txt was displayed differently to the one shown (excuses excuses). /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':confused:' />

If someone could tell me which values I need to change, I would be very happy to do the experimenting to get the right depth. (I didn't rename the file btw.)

Let me know if I screwed up the conversion and someone better then me will fix it(Im 95% sure I did it right). Though you only included one shader(it may be just one). In past experience huds are usually like 3 shaders(like one for txt, one for main hud,etc).

Also rename 8744828.txt 08744828.txt (need eight digits. When its seven add a 0 in beginning). I cant see other folder but same rule applies.

Let me know if you get any results you are happy with and I will get you a blogspot/web-site account. OR can post here and Ill add it.

ugh. I can't make it work to save my life. By now I don't see why. I tidied up the 2 to 3 conversion the best I could without making it crash. Then I tried everything. Really, everything. I just can't make any more sense out of it than these attempts. I need help T_T.

I could probably pick up on what I'm doing wrong if the damn thing would just give me a clue. But, nothing at all happens. It's like the code just isn't there at all now. My shader merrily renders at default depth, probably laughing at me along the way.

What a schoolboy error! I can not believe I missed that. Oh wait, I probably can.

Also, thanks for looking at Orcs Must Die's textfile. I only need to tweak the one setting (0.15 or something) right? I will have a closer look when I am back from work tonite.

Another afternoon wasted trying to fix Shogun 2 TW/Fall of the samurai ... lol... will try again next month :P

It cannot be so difficult... it's a 2d - > 3d conversion. There is one shader used on flying flowers, clouds, dust... Fixing just that you fix half game... :_( tried to rip tridef shaders with no luck lol

I haven't got FotS yet, I have S2TW though. I bet the explosions in FotS, caused by the ships shelling the land are 2D right? If so, you can tell by looking at the screens shots. I think graphically these games have gone downhill. The fire and haze effects which are rendered in 2D just look tacky (I tried to get into S2TW for a good few hours playing 2D).

I get far more enjoyment playing [url="http://www.moddb.com/mods/third-age-total-war"]Third Age Mod for Kingdoms[/url] - have you tried that? It's an amazing mod based on LotRs. It's brilliant, way better than the client(?)game and on its 3rd version now.

post the unchanged shader file. The problem is though we can render it in 3D BUT we have to render it at a CERTAIN DEPTH. Like lets say a flower falls from a tree thats at 70% depth. Well we can set the effect at 70% depth but what happens next time it falls from a tree 20% depth. It would still be at 70% depth. Not sure if this an effect that we can get away with it but I will try to fix it if u give me the file. Then again if its "over head" view it will always be near a certain depth like diablo/torchlight.

Yeah, explosions are 2d too. It's exactly the same effect as when used the cannons from vanilla Shogun2. BTW it's the same exe just a new campaign. So fixing shogun 2 will fix the FotS. Ah! and it's AWSOME use a gatling or a cannon on first person view lol.

concerning TATOW yes, i have it installed too... King Kong made an awesome work there, that's really the lotr battle awesoming feel/essence :).

@eqzitara : I am playing atm with 9% depth and High high convergence and at least with my eyes do the trick, not so bad than you can think after reading "only 9% depth" and better performance in dx11 mode. So, not sure if we can give it a try better after Helix releases his dx 10/11 version he was working on.. Sure i appreciate a lot your help again. Thanks a lot man !
