3D vision crashes
Hi, I'm using gt610 on win 10 64 bit. I have a 3D projector and a 2D tv hooked to a Denon receiver that goes out to my PC. My main usage for 3D is for movies via powerdvd. I didn't use the 3D option for a while now (from February) and now every time I try to enable the 3D option, the 3D vision crashes. sometimes I'm able to get to the test area and my projector tries to switch between 2D and 3D but at the end it goes back to 2D. I've tried the DDU option. It works, but for a short time. any driver I tried (I already tried 4 versions) did the same thing - worked once. I tried in again, in a later time, and it crashes again. Any ideas? BTW, I did the creators update, so maybe the problem is there.

If the 3D vision setup crashes you could try this program and check the "3D Vision setup completed" option http://helixmod.blogspot.ro/2015/10/advanced-3d-vision-configuration.html Several people reported that some of the last nVidia drivers cause crashes and freezes during the 3D vision setup and that tool is the only workaround I know of. Also can you explain what you meant here [quote="Samsosa"] I've tried the DDU option. Other users also reported that they were able to complete the setup wizard in the newest drivers, only if they set their desktop resolution to 720P@60 first. 1080P crashed.

Where it's working and then the issue crops up after a day or so I'd check if Window's Update is mucking it up... I remember having to block an update that kept removing 3D Vision using the "show or hide updates" troubleshooter once. I did another clean installation via DDU and installed version 382.33. the result was the same - the 3D worked fine on the first run (right after the fresh installation), I tried again after 4 hours and the 3D vision crashed. If you have any more suggestions for me? please let me know. I'm getting crazy over this :-/

ok, the strangest thing happened...I was ready to do another clean installation. went to the device manager, uninstalled the graphics driver and restarted the PC. When windows started my projector was obviously not at optimal resolution, because I deleted the nvidia driver. I took my time with going to my download folder and reinstalling the driver, and after about an minute or so, before I had a chance to install the driver, my resolution changed to the optimal setting 1920X1080. I didn't do anything! I went to the device manager and it appears that windows reinstalled this version below, without even asking me. http://www.driver-factory.com/html/502439.html I don't know why, but 3D works fine now. It's been 24 hours and everything seems to be ok. 2 things I don't understand: 1) Can windows really download a driver without asking me? 2) Why did windows pick that specific version? As long as it's working, I don't really care if I won't get answers :)

Yes that's normal Windows behavior and that driver was probably archived somewhere on your hdd. Anyway we still don't know how you were getting those crashes lol so can you explain step by step the last minutes before a crash was occurring.

It could've just downloaded them... I was messing around with a script to purge the DriverStore, NVIDIA Install folders and all temp Drivers, then I ran DDU and did a Clean and Restart in Safe Mode and when it restarted it did the same exact thing. The only way to prevent it after I purged everything and ran DDU was to unplug my ethernet... One thing I noticed when I was messing around with DDU is that it only removes the Display Drivers and not the 3D Vision USB Drivers(and Sound?), so USB issues *might* remain even after using DDU... not saying that's the case here, just mentioning it. I'm still not sure this isn't a case of Windows Update mucking up your Driver install after the fact, the fact that it's working fine and then isn't suggests it might be... you could try disconnecting it from the internet, running DDU in Safe Mode and then Clean Installing Drivers. It might be changing your Display Drivers and not 3D Vision/USB Drivers and causing some sort of conflict...? The minute I notice it changing Drivers on me again I'm blocking it... again... :)
