[OpenGL] 3D Vision Wrapper - Enabling 3D Vision in OpenGL apps

What game should I fix next ?

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena & Escape from Butcher Bay
Neverwinter Nights
Penumbra: Requiem
Penumbra: Overture
Penumbra: Black Plague
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Rage
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic (Kotor 1 & 2)
Half Life 1 (Series)
  2 / 92
@helifax Thanks for the link for the redistributables. To report back, the games did load and as many reported, a series of dialog boxes did present themselves. Neverwinter Nights loaded to menu but no 3D enabled, game did not crash though. Both Knights of the Old Republic I and II crashed after all dialog boxes, logos and intro, they did load unlike before the redistributable. Looks promising.... Cheers

At the moment only window mode is "kinda" supported:)) Also rename the exe to something like WOW.EXE for 3D to kick in. @Rest: Big thanks for the tests!!! If you get "S_Present_Occluded" ITS GOOD!:)) I will not explain it atm why, but it is good!!!! I did some more developing on it, and testing and the sad news so far is that unfortunately I don't think it will be a generic wrapper so to speak! (since different games/ apps run things totally different). So most likely it will be generic but with minimal user intervention/configuration! So far based on my tests, it works very good and I was able to make 0Amnesia: A machine for Pigsto load up, 3D vision to kick in and render 2D Vision:)) Still, heavy in development though:) When I make more progress, I will give another pre-alpha:) Big thanks to everyone for testing!!!!

Ex: wow.exe or Aion.exe or any other valid gamename.exe:)) This is a small limitation currently and will be fixed in the future;)) (and is nvidia driver related actually) Big thanks for the update! So far, all the feedback I get is all OK (sounds silly, I know, but it actually is) Since all games are loading and NO crash on Startup is actually presented this is very good indeed:)

Wow, it's been a very eventful couple of weeks on this board. I've just tried Amnesia 1 & 2. For both games, the 3D light kicks in. I get an upside-down image in the left eye & a black screen in the right. Also both games won't progress past the initial loading screen.

Yes I know. Currently I am working on Amnesia A machine for pigs. - Everything renders completely both ingame, menus etc in the left eye - Currently working on capturing and replicating the drawcalls for a frame in order to draw the right eye - Automatic shader injection to flip the image in the correct position. Keep you posted

That's great, I've been playing Machine for Pigs lately - would be fantastic to play in 3d. Is there hope for Broken Age as well?
That's great, I've been playing Machine for Pigs lately - would be fantastic to play in 3d. Is there hope for Broken Age as well?
The wrapper is aimed to work for any openGL (openGL 1.x up to 4.4). However, like HelixMod it will be not universally (some development intervention) will still be required for specific games. Bear in mind that making an OpenGL to DirectX to 3D Vision is way harder than simply creating a DX wrapper for shaders (HelixMod). However it also easier to hook and modify shaders in OpenGL context as you don't need disassemble and re-assemble them like you need to do in DX (you have access directly to the C source code) The internal mechanics are about the same though. Overall this is a big project in scope, so don't expect fireworks:)) very soon (although I am working on this as much as possible when I have free time;)) ) Broken Age is actually easier to fix than Amnesia, since its not an advanced OGL application.

I'm fully aware that this is a stupid question for so many reasons, but do you have any idea how long it might take before you have something workable? I ask because I've already started Machine for Pigs, but I'm not too far in. Trying to decide if it would be worthwhile holding off and playing one of my many other backlogged titles.

All the code that I have done so far is not fixed and might completely change tomorrow. Also, I am working on it in my spare time, which is 2-3 hours per day when I get home and a bit more in the weekend. So I can't say anything except...It is done when it is done:))) Still a huge lot of stuff to do and test to see that is actually working until I can actually say a game is fixed:) What you do with the game is up to you;)) You could play it now like it is and later on play it in glorious 3D:) or wait:))

No problem at all, I don't want to pressure you - just wondering if you had any idea at this stage, but it sounds like it's too early to guess.

Yes! Keep going. I remember being hyped for Amnesia 2 a couple years ago then I never even bought it now that I have so many 3D games to play instead. Could be a real masterpiece in 3D if it's as good a game as the first.
if it's as good a game as the first.
Sadly it's not. But it's still pretty decent (from what I've played). Playing it doesn't fill me with dread like the first one did though.

Its more a story then horror. Problem is its loosely based on the first one which kind is really questionable for that approach especially since the story was great in first one. If it came out before Amnesia [1] then I think it would be a lot better regarded. Its not bad if you go into expecting that but it got hit hard by everyone cause it was/is advertised as horror not to mention is a sequel/rewrite of one of the best horror games of all time.
