Solution to view 3D Bluray on PC without BD player or HDMI 1.4

why then have the manufactures bent over back wards to stop the release so far of any 3D blu rays to market unless you spend c. £2k - £3k on their kit?
if you ask me i think they have themselves to blame.
I would happily part with my 30 quid to buy one of these disks if i could play it on my PC, as i can with any other DVD format such as HD.
But i cannot because i am unwilling to spend the above.
but to answer your rather puritanical accusation, these chaps have obtained copies via legal means and are not "torrenting" the whole movies, but sharing their knowledge with the community. Feel free not to read the article or join the forums !

"...We’ve got a promise that all of the major DVD Video/Blu-ray Video software players for the PC will support Blu-ray 3D and 3D Vision, probably along with other solutions, but we still don’t have any of these released with the promised support as of this time..."
In other words, we're skirting the law again to get what we want. They haven't given us the support they promised, so we're finding our own means through whatever it takes.
Shoot, we even found a way to get around a legitimate copy of the disk itself, since no one in the market provides a straight digital copy meant solely for your hard drive. Look - it even has all of the DRM and HDCP stripped out so you can do it. We'll tell you where you can get your own copy, too.
NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT THIS IS A SELF-PROMOTING ADVERTISEMENT

All I asked was how are you obtaining these legally?
Oh and by the way, even a ten minute clip is illegal if not condoned by and had permission from the makers.
As far as I know it isn't legal to rip a movie off a BluRay disk and convert it to another DRM free format!
Its funny how people get so defensive when someone questions the grey area of their behavior and I think you'll find that that grey area isn't supported too well on these forums.
Yea so bringing this to the point bluntly, The bluRay disk standard was developed in part to view the movies off an actual disk, not to be ripped and spread in the abundance of free loading pirates. Where exactly are you guys obtaining these digital video's legally?
I have a HTPC, I have all of my movies ripped and stored on that, doesn't make me a pirate. You will not find any pirated content hosted on or even linked to on the biohemmet forums. please think before you spout nonsense.

We all know for a fact the Monsters Vs. Aliens 3d blu ray can be purchased on Ebay, and probably
a few other places. So no doubt someone owns it. I think the trailers are okay, but yeah a 10
min clip maybe too long without permission from the owners.
Oh right and Pirate bay is innocent because they only link users to users and host no content themselves, Pssh its all the same.
" Oh but their innocent because they only showed me how to do illegal things "
You ever hear that expression , " Give a man a movie and he watches it once , but show him how to rent and rip or download and he watches movies for a lifetime"
You guys are on an uphill battle to save "YOUR" self righteous beliefs.

The disk itself isn't the problem. There are no HDD-capable copies of Blu-Ray out there yet. All of the "downloadable" sets that come with them for transferring your movies is in 720p, not HD.
To get a copy of Blu-Ray on HDD means stripping everything out of it that the courts have already decided is illegal to bypass or overcome. If you're playing a Blu-Ray on anything other than the appropriate, licensed hardware you are quite simply breaking the laws of quite a few countries.
Find a way around that part and you've actually got business. So far, though, the courts have slapped down any attempts to even decode DSS w/o a license...

Do I think making backups of movies from a disk and putting them on a hard drive for the sole purpose of backing them up and keeping the original in perfect condition ?, well that's really not for me to decide and I really don't care what you do.
I just feel that as a grey area it has no place on these legitimate forums ..

using the same logic, all producers of violent movies should be prosecuted as they SHOWED you how to kill someone...
Nowhere on my legitimatly purchased BD does it say that this must only be played on authorised players. I do however totally agree with your point that piracy stumps growth and therefore should be stamped out but when I purchase a license to view content on my own hardware, i will view it whichever way I see fit and have no quams about sharing this info with others.
As for wether or not this info should be posted, if you don't want to view it fine but there are plenty of people out there refraining from purchasing 3d equipment due to the lack of or availability of 3d content in the marketplace. showing that there is a way to view content on hardware that you already own rather than having to purchase additional price-fixed, tied hardware may encourage them in to the technology, which in turn can only be a good thing right?

O.K. don't be stupid and suggest ridiculous things like your first sentence , were not in kindergarten.
Also You did not purchase a license to view content on any hardware "You" deem fit. Perhaps you should read the small print again on the cover, or better yet , don't skip through the FBI warning as you load your disk and take a look at what that says as well,
You guys seriously need to get your head out of your ass and stop trying to come up with excuses for doing whatever it is you please just because you can or "showed" You how.
I am done with this topic as there really is nothing more to say.

well, lucky for me, the fbi has no jurisdiction in my country. if you are happy to be herded like cattle in to accepting corporate greed then that's your prerogative, but please, count me out!

But I only spoke of the FBI restrictions and cover agreement as they pertain to the U.S. and used it primarily for an example of what agreements are made,
I am sure that you will find that "Your" country has applicable laws that are not in favor of infringements to Copyrights as well.

Yeah you wasted enough of your precious time lecturing everyone. Hopefully you are done with this topic since your input is irrelevant and annoying. We know the law and don't need you to point it out acting like a big baby.

Oh and by the way, even a ten minute clip is illegal if not condoned by and had permission from the makers.
As far as I know it isn't legal to rip a movie off a BluRay disk and convert it to another DRM free format!
Its funny how people get so defensive when someone questions the grey area of their behavior and I think you'll find that that grey area isn't supported too well on these forums.

min clip maybe too long without permission from the owners.

" Oh but their innocent because they only showed me how to do illegal things "
You ever hear that expression , " Give a man a movie and he watches it once , but show him how to rent and rip or download and he watches movies for a lifetime"
You guys are on an uphill battle to save "YOUR" self righteous beliefs.

O.K. don't be stupid and suggest ridiculous things like your first sentence , were not in kindergarten.
