That's so odd! Doesn't it have everything it needs internally to be one? Vizio just announced they've given up on 3d - hope Nvidia / Asus don't follow suit :\

Not enough people used it to justify inclusion. What?! And 4K is going to be used by anyone? So good. Oh, wait. But the big streaming companies say they're going to stream 4K content. LOL. The same companies who use massive compression on their videos even at 1080p. They could, um, have given us that increased bandwidth at 1080p at we would have been equally impressed by the jump in visual quality. Sorry for being a little salty. I'm just not very happy about CES so far, and it's made all the worse by the stupid comments made by Nvidia mods about being excited soon. Probably would have been a good time to announce some of this excitement, cause I'm becoming a little bummed instead.

Asus has an $800 4K display, and AMD has a software alternative to Gsync. What more could you want?

Not good news from Vizio dropping 3D. It's completely weird for them to do so considering the trivial cost of implementation, especially in a 4K TV. And pulling 3D tech instead of "smart tv" tech? I live in Silicon Valley and don't know a single person that uses the "smart tv" part. Read through all the comments on the Verge article. Fairly light on the 3D hate and celebrating the death of 3D. Pretty evenly balanced by people saying they really enjoyed 3D and were bummed. Don't really understand corporations, but "none of us is as dumb as all of us". Steam just added a "VR Support" filter to their catalog (which right now only means Oculus) Did Oculus really leapfrog 10 years of Nvidia 3D work in just one year?

I've been excited about the Rift since it was announced, but as a 3D lover, I feel it's importance just took a leap and bounds in importance. It really does seem it's going to take over the 3D flag waving.
