There's a built-in stereo screenshot function in the Nvidia stereo driver, you can take 3D screenshots with Alt+F1 and the overlay will let you know the file was saved. It saves to \\documents\NVstereoscopic3D.img
For movies, FRAPs allows you to capture in stereo 3D as well, there's a checkbox for it. Capturing in S3D at 1080p@60FPS full resolution requires an insane amount of bandwidth however, so you'll need ~300MB/s and a LOT of storage behind it to record 2x1080p@60FPS. I recommend 2-3 1TB+ 7200RPM drives in RAID0. Recording in FRAPs also comes with a lot of CPU overhead, so you'll want a nice multi-core CPU also, preferably OC'd.

I have a water cooled i7 2600 oc genie'd to 4.4ghz with 16gigs of ram and an nvidia 850gtx 4gig so my computer should be beefy enough.. The only place where I'll suck is my harddrive.. Right now I only have one SSD which likely wont be enough..

No real hard drive? Yeah, that's going to be trouble - and not just for recording. Luckily, you can get a huge hard drive (as in "why should I bother uninstalling games?") for pretty cheap now. Or do you mean you plan to record to an SSD?
The driver saving screnshots isn't well supported by the control panel for reasons not understood by mere mortals. The default hot key is alt-F1 but, if you go into the registry, you can change it to whatever you like. You can also switch from the default "JPS" format (which is actually two JPG images side by side) to the lossless "PNS" format (two PNG images side by side) by putting in a "StereoImageType" entry into the registry and setting it to 1. Just be aware that PNS files are far larger than JPS. Some of my 1920x1080 shots are around 10 meg!

And yeah I don't have a spinning hard disk in my machine at all =) I went all SSDs a couple years ago and have never had failures.. The only real downside is that I run out of room sometimes..

If I'm playing a game in 3D mode and I take a screen shot using the "prnt scrn" key or fraps, does it come out in 3D or is it 2D?
Is there a way to get a 2D screenshot when you're playing a game in 3D mode? Or something special you have to do to capture 3D..etc..
Thanks guys!
