E.D. Glasses with a Widescreen LCD, playable?
Hello all,

New here but always been impressed with 3D since I was kid playing a basic flightsim in London Trocadero. Years on I've been tempted by E.D. Glasses reviews and just wondered if anybody has tried these with a widescreen LCD yet? I'm running 1920x1200 at 60 Hertz with a 6ms response on a Dell 24" LCD being pushed by a 8800, which I've just read isn't support yet?

Is it a no go?

8800 is not supported yet by the current stereo drivers.

LCD only works well with red/cyan anaglyph glasses. Shutter glasses does not work very well with LCD at all.

Agreed. Downgrade (such a poor choice for a word!) to a CRT monitor with shutter glasses and you won't be unhappy!

Intel Quad Core Extreme QX6700
ASUS Striker Extreme motherboard
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS + ATi Sapphire Radeon X850 XT (yes, in the same computer; nVidia TV out stinks, but ATi rocks with it!!!)
4 GB GSkill DDR800
5x HDDs (three 320GB (RAID5); two 1TB; one IDE 320GB; total 3TB)
2x Cooler Master 6 HDD coolers (primary usage drives)
2x PSU's (primary 600W psu, secondary 350W psu modded solely to power the ATi card)
32-in Samsung HDTV

I have the ability to play on a 22" CRT monitor with shutter glasses or on a 90" LCD Projector with Anaglyph glasses and I definately choose to play on the 90" with anaglyph glasses. The quality of the 3D is quite close to shutter glasses if you calibrate the colors well. But some colors cause problems, but overall it works very well.
