There is a certain random element (other than the narration), but I don't want to say too much. It's rather eerie and subtle. Just keep your eyes (and ears) open as you walk around.

Dear Esther: Landmark Edition
"Dear Esther: Landmark Edition has been remade with the Unity engine, featuring a full audio remaster, and the addition of a brand-new Directors' Commentary mode, allowing players to explore the island and learn what inspired the game and how it was crafted by The Chinese Room and Rob Briscoe."

And?..., is Unitiy engine supposed to be a good engine to use with Nvidia 3d Vision? Anybody tested landmark edition?

I know that some people loved the game, just figured I'd post it.
I'm pretty sure that it's free if you already have the game.
The majority of the time, Unity games are broken.
But DarkStarSword has some templates and tricks for fixing most Unity games.
So if it's broken, it might eventually see a fix.
Landmark edition isnot working with 3D out of the box. Needs a fix. But as I know the policy here, remakes are rarely fixed if the original has great 3d vision support, which is the case of Dear Esther.

Yey... another "useless" remake "10 years" later... The "money grab" doesn't end...
Did they AT LEST re-release this "remake" on newer consoles or something?
Moving to Unity 3D Engine was idiotic as that engine is crap! (in general - not to speak of 3D Vision support).
Very interestingly how Frostbyte Engine (which looks 1000 better than anything Unity can create and is WAAAY more optimised than Unity3D) works way better with 3D Vision ^_^ That's because they "know how to code properly" something the Unity3D "devs" seem to lack...
So, stick with the original edition if you want any 3D Vision Support :) (I also bet the game will run better)

Well since you hate Unity so much, I guess you will not be trying out/playing P.A.M.E.L.A.
Good or bad, I like to see these games get a PC version in addition to new console versions.

Don't hate Unity3D engines per say. But they aren't the best around. Unreal Engine for example pales in comparison.
Unity3D is used by a lot of devs because is easier to cross-compile and release to other platforms easier.

I've never played the original Dear Esther, so I didn't really know what to expect, but so far I'm very happy with it !
I can't compare it with the previous version, but people in general think this is the best version !
Just ad "-window-mode exclusive" to the shortcut or in Steam's launch options, only issue I've seen so far is some water based haloing.
I've made a quick fix for that, and I hope it's to some use for you guys !
Edit: Updated to v.2

Sorry, I´m obviously not able to apply the patch correctly. Copied the data from the v.2 patch "WIP.2 - Dear Esther - Landmark Edition.zip.jpg" into the game folder and tried the starting options with the shortcut - but unfortunately it doesn´t work.
Can you please help me?
