well those profiles it shows are related to SLI and 3d vision, so by moving exes around, you make different profiles apply to them, which includes 3d vision settings/hacks

back when there was the bulletstorm problem where we had to wait for drivers before we were able to play the game correctly, you could apply the fix by going into nvidia inspector, and adding the bulletstorm proper exe name to the bulletstorm profile (the bulletstorm profile was already there, they just had the wrong name, which they fixed in later driver versions). so it SHOULD work for fixing 3d vision issues
I played around a bit more with Nvidia Inspector and while there's a few more settings in there for Stereo that I don't recall, I still think there's either a separate profile for 3D Vision and settings that aren't exposed by NVinspector. Keep in mind, when 3D Vision profiles are updated, there's a separate 3D Vision driver version that can be used with an asynchronous GeForce driver version. Also, if you hit ctrl-F7 and check your Nvidia Stereoscopic settings at %:%\Documents\NVStereoscopic3D.LOG you'll see there's a ton of settings in there that I believe are defined defaults in the 3D Vision driver/profile.
I also tried adding/removing .exe using Nvidia Inspector to try and get the profile for supported games to work with unsupported games and still no go, so I don't think adding .exe via Nvidia Inspector works for 3D Vision profiles, which again indicates to me the 3D Vision driver is checking its own profile for .exe names. We need a tool to be able to change .exe names in the 3D Vision profile itself rather than the standard control panel AA/SLI profiles.

I just tried rajkoderp's wrapper, and I would say it's not very flat, but completely flat. The GUI and HUD pop out a bit, and the game window is a little bit sunk into the background, but there is no distance between any in game objects whatsoever. This is with the depth maxed in the in-game settings and in the 3dvision overlay. Either there is something wrong with rajkoderp's wrapper or AMD has a very strange idea about what makes a game "3d" :)
Personally, I was ok with the Crysis 2 3d, despite it's shortcomings; however, it's a stretch to even call Deus Ex 3d at all. Perhaps AMD was hoping nobody actually had the hardware to try the feature out?
Yeah it seems as if its the latter, as it doesn't sound like there's anything wrong with rajkoderp's wrapper. Its just the limitations imposed by the developers and their vision of 3D. Even if it doesn't produce the S3D results we're accustomed to with Nvidia hardware, I think his wrapper will be invaluable if there continues to be these types of AMD 3DHD lock-outs for 3D Vision owners in future "Gaming Evolved" titles. So again, thanks go to rajkoderp for his efforts here. :)

A new patch was released today, and the next patch according to the devs:
On top of this we are continuing to monitor for any issues that may need to be addressed in a future patch. One extra feature we can already confirm for a future patch is support for Nvidia 3DVision and Nvidia Surround.

That's great news, I guess I'll pick this up as soon as they release that patch. Hopefully their implementation of 3D Vision is not just a facsimile of their 3DHD implementation, but rather corrects whatever lighting/shadowing issues are present with helifax's workaround. This would be the ideal solution imo, as it would give full depth/convergence controls and also retain SLI functionality using Nvidia's native 3D Vision implementation.

You know what I wonder? OK! They announced support for 3D Vision Surround! but If the effect is the same one as it is now (meaning flat 3D with HUD pop-out) frankly I prefer the game how is rendered now even with all the anomalies and graphics glitches.
So the real problem is are they going to translate the current 3D implementation to 3D vision OOOORRR are they going to actually make a proper 3D implementation with real depth (like we are accustomed to have with nVidia titles)?????

I doubt they will change their renderering pipeline to monoscopic and then FIX a lot of shader problems so that 3d vision automatic could stereoize the game, rather than just USING THEIR EXISTING stereo render which they NEED TO HAVE for HD3D support anyway
i bet they will just change the shadow buffer to square (or get nvidia to add a flag to not stereoize it), query nvapi to see if 3d vision is activated, and render side to side instead of over under, with the same stereo renderer they already have
it's already 3D, it's not crysis 2 image processing to create the views, they're already rendered twice, so all they need to do to get less flat 3d is add a convergence slider, as well as making the max separation range bigger (already done in my hack)
you forget that this patch WILL NOT COME SOON because their AMD exclusivity deal needs to expire first

again, try removing the glasses and walking towards a barrel or something, it should come close near enough so that it isnt double at all (but not quite), while in the distance it should be quite separated if you have a high separation value

Of course I can see the effect You describe. There are different layers of depth but they are not as separated as I'm used to when I can adjust depth and convergence manually.

Let's hope that a solution like this will be added. Usually the convergence slider is declaimed as a slider for Your "screen size" (e.g. in Avatar, Test Drive Unilited 2).

Yeah exactly!!!! Now what I am afraid of is that they (Eidos, Nixxie) will NOT
add a convergence slider, as well as making the max separation range bigger
And frankly I think this is what they are going to do:)) to shut our mouths up. "You wanted 3D...You have 3D in Surround even... That you don't like it is not our problem...The same is in HD3D..." point at which we can't say anything anymore...
Now personally I really like how nVidia stereorizes the game and everything appears in 3D. The only problems are those 2D shaders. But if they could fix those to be rendered in 3D using nvapi than we would get the best 3D effect, which I don't think it will happen since ATI & nVidia 3D must be equal as quality and result...
The true value of the wrapper Rajkoderp created I think will be seen with future games where 3D is actually "Real 3D"(not flat) and are only specific to AMD!
PS::::
As a side note, maybe some are interested: I bought recently a promotion pack from Steam with alot of oldies but goldies Star Wars game.... It is absolutely STUNNING to play some of those games in PERFECT 3D in Surround...games from like 10 years or more... If anyone is interested I could provide some screenies on those:)

those games are idtech 3, and thus are OGL
unless you used an OGL to d3d wrapper, 3d vision will not autostereo them
regarding future hd3d only games, i doubt they will happen unless the vendor 1) doesn't care about 3d users and 2) they get a gaming evolved sponsorship
as 90% of the 3d market share is in 3d vision, if they care about 3d users they will implement 3d vision, that's that
and windows 8 adds DXGI 1.2 which adds native quadbuffer support to d3d (hopefully this will also be available as a hotfix for windows 7 users, same as d3d11 for vista)
that feature makes amd proprietary quadbuffer absolutely useless (it doesn't make 3d vision useless for games which don't have native stereo though, however, for games which create their own stereo, they would be better off using the new native d3d quadbuffer)

I have both 3D Vision and TriDef 3D (on my laptop). I've consistently noticed that the TriDef games (which pretty much number the same amount of support as 3D Vision) offer a better 3D experience. The 3D Vision games seem to place all objects at some depth except the closest objects to the camera. This yields a "semi" 3D experience. The TriDef 3D makes several objects in the distance popout of the screen. This is completely evident in the game Mirror's Edge. Only her arms and legs are popping out of the screen (at default settings). The TriDef 3D version (at a VERY low depth = 10/100) looks WAY more "dimensional" than it's 3D Vision counterpart.
What's going on here?
As as aside, I tried to use the built-in 3D driver for Deus Ex for my ATI laptop and it's one of the worst implementations of 3D I've seen. Only the HUD is popping out of the screen (not even his hands).

I still haven't seen the different results myself, gf went ahead and bought the Steam version so I'll have to try out some of your workarounds after football. But it does sound like your workaround version is the better 3D result even though there's a lot of lighting/shadow artifacts. What I would like to see with Eidos' official fix is if they either stereoized those problematic shader fx or completely remove them altogether. That's really the 1 thing I wish every developer implemented from here to eternity. A way to turn off their baked-in 2D lighting/shading/shadowing effects...but I know that's not possible in some games without completely breaking all lighting effects.
And yes I agree the biggest boon from rajkoderp's wrapper is the potential to fix any future 3DHD games that are subject to vendor lock-in. This isn't the only game we've seen unwilling support from the devs for 3D Vision because of Gaming Evolved; Warhammer Space Marine also does not have acceptable 3D Vision support and the devs have stated they have no plans to support it.

Damn toooooo baad!! I really wanted to play that game in 3D... reminds me of Darksiders...which I sent it as a gift yesterday via Steam (only 5 Euro). That game looks absolutely awesome in 3D. Space Marine could have had the same effect.
Glad I didn't wasted 50 euros on it... I will try to see if I can find a workaround for the demo..but so far it seems it is not the case...
So far it looks like Star Wars The force unleashed 1 & 2 with double halos and stuff... Still SWTFU 1&2 I can play them in 3D at 15-30% depth and tweaking the convergence a bit.
But Space Marine..if you fix it near you...in the background it gets broken...

A question for Rajkoderp.
Only the HUD is popping out of the screen (not even his hands).

well those profiles it shows are related to SLI and 3d vision, so by moving exes around, you make different profiles apply to them, which includes 3d vision settings/hacks

back when there was the bulletstorm problem where we had to wait for drivers before we were able to play the game correctly, you could apply the fix by going into nvidia inspector, and adding the bulletstorm proper exe name to the bulletstorm profile (the bulletstorm profile was already there, they just had the wrong name, which they fixed in later driver versions). so it SHOULD work for fixing 3d vision issues

Think about it;))

i bet they will just change the shadow buffer to square (or get nvidia to add a flag to not stereoize it), query nvapi to see if 3d vision is activated, and render side to side instead of over under, with the same stereo renderer they already have
it's already 3D, it's not crysis 2 image processing to create the views, they're already rendered twice, so all they need to do to get less flat 3d is add a convergence slider, as well as making the max separation range bigger (already done in my hack)
you forget that this patch WILL NOT COME SOON because their AMD exclusivity deal needs to expire first

again, try removing the glasses and walking towards a barrel or something, it should come close near enough so that it isnt double at all (but not quite), while in the distance it should be quite separated if you have a high separation value

I hope it has good, realistic depth and separation, unlike what i hear thus far.

I doubt they will change their renderering pipeline to monoscopic and then FIX a lot of shader problems so that 3d vision automatic could stereoize the game, rather than just USING THEIR EXISTING stereo render which they NEED TO HAVE for HD3D support anyway

PS::::
As a side note, maybe some are interested: I bought recently a promotion pack from Steam with alot of oldies but goldies Star Wars game.... It is absolutely STUNNING to play some of those games in PERFECT 3D in Surround...games from like 10 years or more... If anyone is interested I could provide some screenies on those:)

unless you used an OGL to d3d wrapper, 3d vision will not autostereo them
regarding future hd3d only games, i doubt they will happen unless the vendor 1) doesn't care about 3d users and 2) they get a gaming evolved sponsorship
as 90% of the 3d market share is in 3d vision, if they care about 3d users they will implement 3d vision, that's that
and windows 8 adds DXGI 1.2 which adds native quadbuffer support to d3d (hopefully this will also be available as a hotfix for windows 7 users, same as d3d11 for vista)
that feature makes amd proprietary quadbuffer absolutely useless (it doesn't make 3d vision useless for games which don't have native stereo though, however, for games which create their own stereo, they would be better off using the new native d3d quadbuffer)
