Samsung 2233RZ officially discontinued 1 day after purchase...
1 / 2
So... last week (05/18/10) I purchased a 3D Vision kit and Samsung 2233RZ from Dell with the intention of purchasing 2 additional 2233s early next month. I asked the Dell rep about the present and future availability of the display and was informed that they had plenty in stock. The kit and 2233 were delivered the next day and I was extremely impressed by the picture quality of the display in comparison to the crappy Viewsonic setup I saw demoed at a retail store. I had multiple displays prior to 3D vision that were inferior to the 2233 so I decided to pony up the $600 to buy 2 additional displays. On Friday morning I went to dell.com searched for the display and was informed that the product I was looking for did not exist. I called Dell to place the order over the phone and after speaking with several people in customer service was informed that the 2233RZ had been discontinued as of 05/19/10. I ran into the same issue at newegg, amazon, and MicroCenter. After nearly 4 hours of searching, I believe I exhausted the possibility of finding the 2233RZ anywhere online...
So basically, I need to buy 2 2233s or sell the unit I just purchased ASAP... Anyone have any advice???
Also if you want to buy a brand new 2233RZ - PLEASE PM ME :) I paid $279 from Dell but would be willing to sell for $225 +shipping...

Dell RMAs on my small buisness account are a pain. It's taken several weeks to receive a credit on previous returns... Obviously ebay is an option, I just hate having to pay extra listing and transaction fees.

That was the first place I checked after newegg and amazon... On 05/18/10 I had 5 or 6 resources with plenty of stock and on 05/19/10 every site had either deleted the display from their inventory or it was listed as "unavailable". This seems a bit odd to me considering that these displays were still selling well and that no one seemed to have a heads up about the immanent discontinuation. It's frustrating that Samsung would pull the product without any sort of formal announcement about a replacement model...

I posted a similar thread a few weeks ago. Just to let you know I just ordered two more 2233rz's from Grey-tech.com in Canada (I'm Canadian).
Just FYI as I had alot of trouble finding someone with them in stock.
