World of Warcraft used to work flawlessly, now unplayable in 3D
I called Nvidia tech support and updated my drivers with a link they sent me. What was funny was that they acted oblivious to what is going on in this forum. They said it works fine on their Samsung Monitor (though I have an Alienware). During my lunch break, I ran home and tried and everything works fine as long as you keep both 3D sliders in WOW all the way to the left, which basically means little to no real 3D effect. As soon as you move the slider (screen or 3D depth), various elements of the User Interface become unusable (map, cool downs on the action buttons, drop down menus, splitting of your character into 2, etc.

Now they want me to uninstall WOW and reinstall it. Hmmm, that will only take 4 hours since I have the original CDs back from 6 years ago lol. Then they will try to trouble shoot further if that doesn't work. Blizzard is ignoring my forum tech support request, locking it the first time because I didn't follow forum etiquette and put capital letters in my title. They are something else. I reopened the thread and all I got was some snide remark from someone who did a HAHA for spending so much money while he used blue and red glasses. Anyway, I only have until next Friday to try these troubleshooting tips without loosing my return window to send back the products. Has anyone tried reinstalling all of WOW to see if that changed anything????
i ve done that couple of days ago, before i return my product. dont bother mate, i even reformated my harddrive installed windows 7, all official microsoft updates, wow, tbc and lich king, waited to download 4GB of patch and still nothing happened. i used their latest drivers at that time.
DONT bother to lose a full day just for that, been there it doesnt work, i did it BY THE BOOK, no addons, no third party software no nothing, just office 2003 and antivirus, but i think it was irelevant.

if you have the option to return it, do so now before its too late.

and a note to all of you guys if you buy this 3d solution for wow, IT IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY yet.
if you play other games like alien vs predator from sega, bioshock2, batman arkham its working flawlessly.
these games i ve tried em myself and these trully work as intended (the way it meant to be seen\played)
as for wow i d say we give it a couple of months (based on Blizz's cooperation history id say even a year)

Thanks for the honesty. I have to admit, its tough to return the AlienWare monitor, its the best I have owned and the way it tilts, goes up and down, and rotates makes it so hard to return lol. But I wasn't miserable with my former Acer 60Hz 2 inch smaller monitor and for $800+ dollars (which includes the 3D Kit) it feels like a little bit of a waste of money for something that doesn't work properly with a game I will probably play at least until Star Wars Online or Guild Wars 2 if either of those two games are good (BIG IF...but I have faith in Bioware hehe). Anyway, I have 24 hours to decide. I will probably return both and just re-order if and when they fix all of this. Anyway, I will post one last update later today once the game finishes loading. 2GB left and I have placed on more call to Nvida Tech Support.

Use the addon written to remedy this earlier in the thread - Fresh3D. It updates the convergence settings at the interval of your choice (I use 1 second) in the back ground, so when things get screwd up (chat text / buffs etc) it snaps them back quickly. It's a bandaid for sure, but it makes WoW playable with good convergence & full depth until this gets sorted properly. I can still raid and so forth.

True. I do own Dragon Age too which is listed as good. I may try that, but to be honest, WOW was the main reason I bought this. With my work schedule, I barely have time for other games lol.

UPDATE:

I just finished downloading the game directly from Blizzards website instead of using my disks from when the game was released lol. This is after I reloaded the drives. Anyway, it did make a difference, but still not where I want the 3D to be. In WOW, the Screen Depth setting still has to be low, but the game set the Depth amount at about 30% which for some reason, is aligning all of the UI correctly. As soon as I move either slider, it moves the UI so it makes it unplayable. Regardless, even at this setting the game looks much better, so this is progress and Ive decided to keep my stuff. On that note, I called Nvidia tech support and they gave me a number to call their escalation team directly. I'm thinking they may be able to tweak my Control Panel so that I have a bit more flexibility within the game. I am also going to try what Vaelo suggested and once I do I will repost an update (though Vaelo, I don't know why you posted 'crap, sorry' after your suggestion). What was that about? lol

well..that script does work...it keeps cooldowns on its place..but in my case..it freezes my screen every sec (refresh rate) and it drops my fps too..so i had to remove it..unfortunately
