It's the way the shaders are compiled. From what I remember Helix saying they're compiled in a completely different way in DX10/11 that prevents editing of them.

Sorry to interrupt, but, for those who are interested, there's a new 3D support thread at the Irrational forums: http://forums.2kgames.com/showthread.php?221026-3D-doesn-t-work! So far it seems better than the one I'm desperately trying to forget.

I made that, and posted about it earlier. But it's a good reminder - go contribute, sign up if you haven't already, and keep making support tickets! We need to show the demand is there.

I have been part of a small forum-group called "Shadershock-Forum". It was a project to get BioShock 1 working on 2.0 Shader-Cards (Radeon9700) and BS1 officially only supported SM 3.0 . Some clever guys found a way to unpack the pure Shader-Code so we could manipulate the shader code. We managed to get it to run on ATI-cards(NV-cards crashed for unknown reason) and aside from some small glitches graphics didn't look that bad. Only loading a level took 10 minutes because shader-cache had to be rebuilt by the game each time. Later the member "Phazz" was able to compile the shadercache so loading-times reduced dramatically to nearly the original behavior. I'm not sure, the engine has changed a lot and maybe BS Infinite is built completely different. But maybe there is a way to get the pure shader-code? Maybe it is packed somewhere in the game-files? A clever guy like Helix could surely start something with it. I can't take a look at the files as I don't own the game. I'm not willing to spend money for BS Infinite as long as there is not the smallest chance for 3D-Vision-Support.

Not sure if we need two posts over at 2k about it, but I put my name on it. Very stoked by this game. Wish we had more cinematic games of this calibre coming out, and preferably in 3D ;-)

Not really sure where some got the idea this game was to be in 3D. As for "Nvidia's abandoning 3D vision support"..if you have been here as long as I have they NEVER talk never have and when they do its a blessing haha. Dont take a lake of talk as a sign of abandoning 3D.

Seems like it was a good idea We argued with the mods to stop them from locking the thread. It's become a little beacon for people who game with both eyes open. Would be amazing to see a result on this.
With Tridef in DX11 mode your display have to support SBS or TB mode.....others modes dont work properly (i try Line Interlaced wih the last Ignition and now dont work...LOL). Also we have to disable 3D stereo in NVCP when you use Tridef.
It may be time to think about a new monitor then, thanks!

A couple of screenshots on the TriDef forum. Demonstrates some of the potential for a fix. Or if I have to run in Tridef I'll make that happen. Which is a drag because my projector only supports frame-sequential. To view these over/under shots, I needed to use the Stereoscopic movie player, not photoviewer.
