Witcher 3 3D vs. GTA 5 3D - which one gives you the bigger 3D WOW-experience
1 / 2
Yes I know this question seems a little strange because it seems those two games couldn't be more different. But at the same time those "subjective preference"-threads are usually very well received in our community (at least I absolutely love them) and I have a very good reason to ask for those two games.
Currently I have no preference genre-wise which game I should play next but it will be either Batman: Arkham Knight (in case it works in 3DV) or GTA V or Witcher 3. I know that neither GTA V nor Witcher 3 run perfectly in 3D Vision by now but as far as I followed the specific threads both games seem to be very playable in 3DV in their current "fix-state". At least both of them are absolute AAA-titles and both of them should look absolutely stunning in 3D Vision.
Now this question is directed at all of you who already tested both games in 3D Vision. Which of those two games gives you the bigger jaw-dropping experience for its sheer 3D awesomeness. Yes this question is totally subjective. Just name your favourite for 3D awesomeness.

I continue to have great difficulty getting GTAV to run in 3d despite it being officially supported. So I have to give the nod to Witcher 3.
Also think GTA is a tad on the overrated side.

Gta V has been all issues for me. So much for companies aiming to be 3D vision ready in the dx11 era.

I guess I can recommend either of those since both works great for me in 3D. Now you only have to decide if you after RPG/Fantasy or Action/Post-Apocaliptic game.
Witcher is always more jaw droping because of beautiful environments. Those places are like from Grim Brothers books - something what you didn`t get use to see, yet. One look at the sunset and you done. You wanna live there.
GTA is always about cities and that`s basically it. Quite boring compare to medieval fantasy.

I'm on the other side of the fence. I've played only a very small amount of Witcher3, but in terms of the simple WOW factor, I much prefer GTA5. There are numerous times where I simply stop playing to look around at how spectacular everything is, including crazy-good lighting effects. I have yet to get that "Wow that looks awesome" effect in Witcher3.

It could have been so easy. After reading the first answers I was pretty convinced Witcher 3 should be the next game to play for me. And now Bob is waving his hands from the other side of the fence ;-)
And indeed I have to agree concerning the aspects that make GTA V a stunning 3D showpiece. While I totally agree with Skaut saying that Witcher 3 is a fantastic 3D wonderworld which seems to originate right out of a Grim Brothers tale it's the realism and the authenticity of GTA V's virtual world in 3D that is also very appealing to me. Decisions, Decision, Decisions.........
Usually I never play a game that is currently still in it's "fix ongoing"-state and if I followed the specific threads for GTA V and Witcher 3 correctly both fixes are not final yet. Any idea how close we are to see both games with a final fix on helix-page? Judging from the comments in the specific threads I would expect the final fixes to appear any second on helix-page. Or did I get something wrong here?

From a purely graphics perspective GTA V is for sure the more impressive one.
As I am forced to play it in 4k though (albeit it does look amazing in 4k), from a 3D perspective I recommend Wicher3 since its problem-free. :)

You might like the vistas, but I don't think you'd like to live in this war torn land...
Can't say much for 3D, still waiting for my 3D vision kit.
Any idea how close we are to see both games with a final fix on helix-page?
I can't speculate on timeframes, but Witcher 3 is in a much better state. It's mostly stable, which is more than can be said for GTA right now.

Except for the "don't die" problem with Witcher3? Last I read, if you die, you'll crash on reload. Not as random as GTA5, but about the same in terms of annoying.

How about if we post some screen shots for each game? Find one or two of your most spectacular shots. I'll start:
