World of Warcraft 64-bit 3D vision doesn't enable in the new 64-bit client of World of Warcraft
So there is a 64-bit client of World of Warcraft now available. I was fairly eager to try it so I could finally use more than 2 GB of RAM for the game, which becomes a problem during prolonged play (several hours nonstop).

Anyway, 3D Vision won't activate despite the options all be turned on as necessary. I'm not sure if this is by fault of Blizzard/Activision or NVidia drivers or lack of a profile for the 64-bit client.

Does anyone know how to enable this? Or do you think it's more of a "wait and see if it gets supported" kind of thing?

Have you tried renaming the app to be te same as the 32 bit client?
App detection in the driver is almost exclusively based on the app name.

I think 3DVision works on 64bit apps, but it's been a while since I tested it.

No issues using the x64 client here - not sure what could be the problem on your end.

Just comes up as a default profile (unrated) but it works flawlessly on my end...

Even if it doesn't have a profile, 3D Vision should kick in whenever DirectX 9 or higher takes over your whole screen.

Could you have something funky set up in your graphics settings? Perhaps something forcing the refresh rate? Or maybe not running at native resolution?

So after reading the responses and testing I've found the following:

With no modifications to file names: The 64-bit exe works in 3D Vision full screen mode only; it does not work in 3D Vision in windowed or Windowed full screen modes.

With modification to the file names (change Wow-64.exe to Wow.exe and backup both originals) it works in windowed, full screen windowed and full screen modes. Just have to be careful to put the files back before the game patches itself and messes up the exe files when the next update comes.

On top of all that, the 64-bit client mis-labels the refresh rate as 100Hz whether you set it to 100, 110 or 120. The monitor still shows 120Hz though, so it's not really an issue.

The game (both 32-bit and 64-bit) also continues to not allow 3D Vision at all in DirectX 11; only in DirectX 9. That seems to be an implementation by Blizzard for some reason or another. I wonder if there's a way to force it.

DX11 works fine for me, but I don't use it because there is no 3D cursor. Everything else works fine (nameplates etc that used to be broken). Decent performance improvement when using it.

I get ghosting with the 64 bit client. I'm using an "Optimized for GeForce 3d" polarized monitor.

Tested TriDef and it does the same with the 64 bit client.

... That seems odd, what would using more available RAM space have to do with crosstalk?

Yea.. I am puzzled to. I'm using the beta drivers from Nvidia (295.51) Might be the beta video drivers not working good with the 64 bit client. Don't feel like switching now though cause these give window support for pics and games for the "Optimized for GeForce" users. Don't notice any performance slow down in WOW anyway cause my machine is fast and I don't raid anymore, so I'm not taxing the machine with it.
