[How To] Shadow of the Tomb Raider start in 3D Vision + proper SLI
3 / 4
One interesting thing is that now Rise of the Tomb Raider (2016) has the same DXGI errors as Shadow of the Tomb Raider....
Is funny, because Rise never ever ever crashed for me (and I am running the same hardware) but not the same software...
Normally when a DXGI Device Removed error appears, it means the driver crashed... So guess is time for some binary chopping...

Updated the Nvidia profile with proper SLI bits for DX11. This removes any flickering, perfect scaling like before and the "DXGI Device Hung" occurrences are much smaller now.

@Helifax, just wanted to confirm, are you getting perfect SLI scaling in Kuwaq Yaku and The Hidden City regions?
I get pretty bad scaling in these regions, although the visuals are perfect (no flickering).
Putting down the SLI bits I used from the other thread below just to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong.
SLI Compatibility Bits (DX10 + DX11): 0x080042F1
SLI Broadcast (DX1X): 0x00000102

Those aren't the SLI bits I use.
In addition to the SLI bits, you also need other values in the profile.
Just save your profile as it is, delete it and import the one from page which I updated and see if you get better results.
As for those 2 regions, there are Rendering bottlenecks there in certain views. (You can see it without SLI as well where one GPU drops to 60%. In SLI both will drop to 60%. So, yes, perfect scaling there as well ;) )

Hi Helifax
I dont have card with SLI, and still cant run the game in 3d stereoscopic, I tried many combinations.
What should I do to have it working.
After first installation grame works when I have flickering and turn on task manager and go back to the game, than works perfect. But when I turn on my PC 2 days later and Shadow of the tomb rider gets his update from steam, I cant play 3d any more.
Please help :((

Thanks a lot, @Helifax. These settings are a little better than the previous profile I had.
I had to revert the "Stereo Profile" setting to "No" from your profile though, as it caused the game to not launch at all. As I understand, having this set to "No" simply shows that the game is not rated by Nvidia on each launch, but 3D Vision does actually work.
Also, as you mentioned, Kuwaq Yaku and Hidden City regions do indeed have rendering bottlenecks in some views. Could confirm that by turning off SLI like you mentioned. On DX12 mode (with 3D Vision off), these bottlenecks are no longer present.
It would be great if the devs could make 3D Vision work in DX12 mode, since the performance and SLI scaling is way better than in DX11. Interestingly, SBS 3D does work with DX12 full screen and I could play this on my 3D TV (had also made a separate thread on this in this forum). So technically, I think DX12 can be made to work with 3D Vision as well. But, I guess the priority for this feature would be low (if at all they're even considering it ;) ), given that they're currently working on DLCs, RTX stuff and general bug fixing.

@zorfax, try with an older Nvidia driver. I'm currently using 385.69. I've been having problems with 399.24 and 411.70. Also, try launching ROTTR first and see if 3D Vision kicks in for it. If it works for that, it's very likely it'll work for SOTTR as well.
I've noticed that drivers 399.24 and above have problems turning on 3D Vision with ROTTR as well.

Fixes related to some players not being able to achieve 100% completion, including:
Problems related to the Champion’s Bow quest.
Problems related to the ‘Dr Croft’ and ‘That’s a Knife’ achievements.
Problems with monoliths.
And various others.
Fixes a problem where some items would not carry over into New Game+.
Fixes for a progression blocker some players experienced in Kuwaq Yaku.
Fixes for a progression blocker some players experienced in the Peruvian Jungle.
Fixes for a progression blocker some players experienced in Manko’s Tomb.
Fixed a problem where some in-game hints would still trigger even if the player had them disabled.
Updates to VO and localization in various languages.
Fixed a problem that caused some PC configurations to be unable to successfully enable stereoscopic 3D.
Fixed DX12 problems specific to Windows 10 version 1511.

Yes!!! The patch fixed the flickering issue (for me - hopefully for others. Since I could get absolutely NOTHING to work before, I assume this patch will fix the issue for most)...
3DV kicks in with no flickering and all is right in the (Tomb Raider) world! :)

With the new Patch SOTTR starts fine in 3DVision ... but only when using NV standard profile. With SLI (Helifax latest profile) i can't get the game to run. DXGI-Error after some seconds of blackscreen when starting the game.
