I need help setting up a 4 speaker setup on my PC for games. I just got a new soundcard, relatively cheap, and pc speakers but dont know how to get sound to come out of all 4 at once. I dont know if this matters, but i have 2 of one kind and 2 of another. Is it still possible? There is a pink port (mic), green port (audio), blue port, black port, and orange port. How should i go about doing this?
also, all four speakers are all desktop speakers. none of them are like subwoofers or whatever. is it still possible?

Hi yes it would be possible you will need to get a Stereo Y-Splitter. and Go out from the sound card and plug each speaker into the Y connector. This may not be too loud are they powered Speakers??
Green is the 2 Fronts
Orange is the 2 Rear backs
You will have to figure out which is left and right ;)
You usually get aq 5.1 Speaker system and all the speakers plug into the Sub and there is a wire from the sound card to the Sub. But what I reccomend should work and they should be the Proper ones. the Black is for the Sub and Center.
You could also buy a reicever with 5.1/7.1 Pre-Outs..I would Highly Reccomend going that route..You will also need a Set of Creative Home theater Cables to go from the soundcard the Reciever that will act as a Pre Pro..

Buying a 'y' splitter will work but it is not the best way. First it would cost money, and second it reduces the sound quality.
Instead, just change the speaker configuration in Windows will configure the soundcard to output on two ports.
Control Panel > Sounds > select speakers and click configure > change to "quadrophonic"
Once you configured Windows then you plug one set of speakers into the green port, and the other set of speakers into the port next to it.

they are powered.
so i should plug the vaio speakers into the green port and the GFM speakers into the rear port. Thats it? I know how to configure the audio in control panel anyway. Thanks

Your Idea isNot gonna work and my idea it would not reduce the sound Quality ???
He has 4 sets of speaers and he will not be able to plug ALL 4 Speakers into 2 ports.
The STEREO Y SPLITTER will be able to plug in ALL 4 sets of speakers?? All the Y SPlitter does is split the Left and Right channel it does NOT Degrade the sound Quality??
Well I guess zafrothunder will find out after he tries to connect it up ???

4 desktop speakers is only 2 sets of speaker, therefore 2 stereo jacks.
Any reduced quality from a 'y' splitter would be hardly noticeable with short cable lengths and powered speakers. I was speaking on a more general term. The more cable you have the lower the signal quality. 'Y' splitter essentially doubles the amount of cable.

I was thinking he had speakers like I do the Creative 7.1 series speakers and each speaker has it's own jack??
He should be be able to plug in as you suggested.. As the Desktop speakers are plugged into the other speaker and has only 1 Stereo Jack..
Case solved sorry for the confusion ;)
