According to the driver release notes 3 Way SLI is slower than 2 Way, but I haven't confirmed.

Currently in 3-way SLI we allocate the third GPU to PhysX. So 3-way SLI wont be slower in 2-way, but it could be faster with PhysX games.

So this basically means no performance increase for most games(that don't support physx)?
Is this something that will be fixed or is this going to stay this way?

What happens when you force PhsyX on the CPU instead of the GPU's, does the 3rd GPU do nothing?

The real question becomes why even bother introducing 4-way SLi when you can't get 3-way working proper...

Is it correct to say that 3-way SLi+ workes with 400 fermi cards but not 500 series yet?

I run 3-way 470 SLi and I do get better performance with 3 cards.

what about in the latest 275 drivers?

I'll buy a 3rd GTX 580 3GB if they make 3d vision compatible with 3 and 4 way SLI configs. I need those extra frames for some games. Seriously, it's been years since 3d visoin was released and still no support for 3 way SLI. I had SLI 8800 Ultras when 3d Vision was released and ever since I've been waiting. I've pretty much given up at this point. A heck of a lot of consumers out there will drop another $500 or more on another card if Nvidia can finally get this taken care of. The reason I don't run 3 way SLI anymore, 3d Vision. I did have 3 way GTX 280s at one time.

I'm considering adding a 3rd 680 to my system. Does anyone know if the 3-way SLI issue has been corrected? Does the 3rd card still get used as PHYSX?
