ACTUALLY only for you conan48 ... I create a version to fix the game for not supported resolutions....and you was not able to answer in any case within arround 2 days...SHAME ON YOU !!!!!!!!!!
@Shift-E
I will make a version for FOV 60 (standard) that allows you to start the game as normal. You have to do some cfg changes manually if you want to have convergence unlocked EVERY TIME you start the game or live with given convergence 0,18XXXXX. I will write a detailed description here. Please try the FOV change to 80 in the config i have written above. This should work for the moment. Dont forgett to choose right correction via "-" key. Please report back if this is working. I have no ida why you obviously end up in save mode.

The FOV is definitely 80 in the config file already, I saw it in there. That value never changed.
I have some ideas to test out tonight, I will try and start from scratch again. so is the current script only setting up config values or is it doing something additional not related to the config file?

Wrong shaders on the water on ultra & extrem.
It's seems only good on high preset whatever the resolution.

ok so I made some progress after further testing. The only setting I was missing in the config was:
r_dbg_stereo_auto_separation 0
which I see gets removed after each game launch, so I just have to remember to add it before playing each time. I was able to get 3D working starting from the Epic store launcher, but was getting the skinny weapon issue that someone else had reported. I just lowered the depth to get the weapon and arms etc to look more natural, its like it was at double depth even though control+F3 displayed otherwise. The good news is all the shadows/AO looked great, no issues with flashlight, lighter, etc.
But there was one very noticeable issue, the color was 90% drained when I activated 3D and the image just looked off. Even turning color up on my tv from 80 to 100 couldn't bring it close to what it should be. The weird thing is when top and bottom output is displayed it looks fine, but when I hit 3D on the remote to display 3D the new image is drained of color. In addition, the skies look crazy...nothing but banding and blobs. again, deactivate 3D and everything looks perfect in top and bottom separate images.
so I tried reversed line interlaced since this output does not require the user to activate 3D on their tv remote - and yes 3D looks much better with perfect skies and color. The only problem is line interlaced required native resolution, and running this game in 4K 3D is impossible. I thought the "shader scaling" setting would save me, but it does not seem to work like resolution scaling does. If I lower the shader scaling, it breaks the line interlaced and 3D does not work.
I thought maybe my HDR testing had screwed up my config, so I deleted it and started from scratch with no HDR ever set up but I am still getting this very weird issue where the 3D image is not matching the 2 stereoscopic images as far as color and detail. I have never seen this issue before, so I am stumped...
I also confirmed I only freeze when changing graphic settings in the main menu with the fix installed, without it installed I can change anything as needed. Even Control-T to disable 3D, I still will freeze on attempting to back out of graphics menu. Now that I know this, I can avoid it.

Sadly I'm in another place without water for the moment ,but check this old saved game as I have this water problem in all places. Check the map and go for water ;)

SLi is now working with Metro Exodus - I realise that a disproportionate portion of 3DV gamers have SLi rigs:
first via profile, and then another method using a hex editor:

Goodness knows, we all need every drop of performance we can get, especially with 3DV...
"RAGEdemon".
Mine's had SLI working since I started playing the game?. Using driver's 419.67 at the moment.
both GPU's are pegged on around %98 usage. I agree I have 1080's like yourself nothing has ever really pushed these cards until I started playing Exodus. Especially in outside areas I wasn't getting 60fps i was wondering how most people are running with a single GPU. :)

@unix_43 I have not tried it yet, but to my knowledge, there has not been default SLi support in nVidia drivers with this game - I do not know about the latest drivers.
It is a possibility that though both your cards are being used, there is not good scaling with the second card.
The SLi discussion linked to in my previous post, they describe using a different profile, or a hex editor to get very good scaling with the second GPU.
Nevertheless, I have hope that your analysis is correct - that there is now proper SLi support with 419.67... :)

You should put by default a low convergence for aiming (left trigger or right mouse) in d3dx ini.
I put 0.181
