Never even heard of it before. Is the game itself any good?

Lol I was just looking at it. It reminds me of Fable 1 in gameplay {The only good Fable)
Are we talking about in 3D or just overall? Cause I am a bit confused. F3AR was bad in pretty much every category.
Not sure, I saw it on Steam, looked at the trailer, went crazy and spent $20... I'm looking through the Shaders with the Helix Debugger, and have found the main shader to disable shadows which removes pretty mch all the mind/eyeball f*****g obscenities from the screen, so there is hope it is fixable. I'll post some screenshots of the out of the box rendering it hurts really bad to look at it since it seems some stuff is rendered with about 200% separation (I looked through one eye at a time and the images were definitley on the wrong side of 100% sep). Loads of other 3d issues as well - lights and fog, and I have not even walked across the floor in the first room yet ;-)

Nice one, that gets rid of a lot of the crap! Shadows are still wrong but the awful lighting that was the big problem has been greatly reduced/eliminated.

Ok last post before I have to go clean the house while the missus is out... I think that the main issue now really is 2d shadows - low depth and high convergence already looks playable (but I don't like that configuration). I'm gonna see if I can do anything with the shadow shader, who knows I might get lucky.
All in all, not looking as bad as it was at first :-)

Sadly I like to only post games I do a real good job on and I drop like 80% of the rest. Game uses spider engine. Ive tried two games in past using it like orcs and men. So I know tons of wierd crap. Not sure if lighting renders correctly[Dont remember] still but I know shadows are 2D. All effects are fixed though

Since your looking at shadows, Ill look at hud later. We both have our strengths I guess lol. I know no gaurantees but worth a shot.
Man is it gonna suck if games sucks lol. But damn was trailer a surprise.
UPDATE: LOL, wow the one time a skilled programmer is interested in same game as me... I can fix lighting. Or at least pretty much. The remaining shadow issue may actually be a lighting issue though. Like the "fake" shadow on ground indoors is fixed. Here is the shaderoverride.

LOL - Well done, I got these two as well ;-) Nice thing is they seem to fix lighting outside as well. Am looking at the shadows when you go outside the door to the first area. There are dynamic and self shadows and a host of things, and only 2 shaders that seem to have any effect, so hopefully I can work this out (not tonight though, end of the day for me).

Something tells me its due to the lights rather then the shadows being wrong. I could be wrong but its like its at the right depth. I think it either has to do with those two vertexshaders or its attached pixel shaders either way beyond me. If worse comes to worse disabling casted shadows is not the worst. Ill look at hud soonish.

Well I could not resist a quick look and have made some progress with shadows for the first couple of areas. It's not looking too shoddy either. Two issues:
1. It seems to be one of them games where there are unfortunately lots of shaders for different things for example there is a different shader to render the guys eyeballs and one to render shadows cast by eyeballs...wtf. So I guess it's not a quick job, but might be quite systematic.
2. The shadows still render at a slightly deeper depth than they should, whether they be close or far away. They don't look awful, but clearly something is wrong. It's a bit like Mass Effect 3 shadows which render a bit into the ground, only in this case it is deeper in. I'm too tired to investigate why this might be. If you have seen this before let me know.
3. Thus far everything is VS, which is great.
I also noticed a few other rendering errors - decals on walls, some lights on walls etc. I will chip-chip away at it. I enjoyed bashing the inmates with my big pipe in the first fight scene so expect to keep playing this to see where it goes...
Change the extension on the attachment to .rar.

Ill let you take over, it looks beautiful already and you deserve to take credit for it [I think shadows look fine and wouldnt worry too much if you cant find out why they are at higher depth]. I am happy I was able to help at least with profile and let you at least see what was underneath lol. Two people working together can be "cramped". Not to mention I got a game I want to look at on Tuesday. The other spider/cyanide games are identical and I can look at those when I get a chance. BTW, people in steam forums seem really happy with game.
Just a couple quick pointers since while you are much better programmer, I know some features you may not know of and this stuff never gets written down. You shouldn't definetly check this out because DUMPALL will save you A LOT of time.
If you want hud elements/textures on same shader at different depths/ seperate if statments. Look at Unreal Tournament 3 by Mana84[Dx9settings.ini]. Basically we/I didnt know how to do that till recently.[Alot of of my old stuff needed that]. Not sure if you ever needed to find textures before but explanation is here. We generally use texture seperation for Hud elements and if we want to do something special with a texture in particuluar like force sky box max depth.http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2012/03/dlls-update.html [Ignore the part about what where helix talks about using indexs for different textures and do what mana84 did. Thats only way it works that I know of and same results regardless]
If you want to Dump all shaders to save time. I use notepad++ and search for files with the headers I need. Download the newest version of debug.[Its the best because it just saves it all as the 8digit crc name]
https://s3.amazonaws.com/-HeliX-/DllsModPack.zip
under [General] in dx9settings.ini put Dumpall = true.
Dont use newest debug/release till done or you need dumpall. Its got issues with finding textures. Use this one till done https://s3.amazonaws.com/-HeliX-/DLLS/Debug.zip
If you need anything just pm me or message the main helix thread. Profiles I use to test games are Prototype/Aion. If I have issues with stuff all changing in one eye [As you know] I use masseffect2.exe or I use it if I need a nvidia laser sight. And just because Nvidia gives a game profile pretty much means jack. [Borderlands 2/Clive Barker's Jericho off the top of my head]

hi,
thanks with your mod, I use "d3d9" Eqzitara with mike "shadowoveride" , it works but I have a red Sentence on top of screen which says "convergence ... etc"
Any ideas?
