Check out my post here for basically the best projector that you can get which supports Nvidia 3D vision glasses(with a bit of tinkering).

The best 1080p 120hz projector out there for 3D vision[/quote]
Doesn't this one require the use of DLP-Link glasses instead of Nvidia 3D vision glasses?
Then again... I haven't read about anybody trying EDID overrides on that model. Maybe it would work.
The saving grace on the HD27HDR is the input lag for gaming though. Unfortunately the Optoma UHD40/UHD50 has an input lag above 30ms. Meanwhile the Optoma HD27HDR has an input lag of 8.3ms in 2D enhanced gaming mode(As fast as a CRT!) and an input lag of 16ms in 3d mode which is comparable to most G-sync monitors, give or take 1 to 2ms.

Well the Optoma UHD40/UHD50 is the better option if OP watches video more than he/she games. Plus they were specifically asking for 4K.

But, clearly, the Optoma HD27HDR is the better choice for gaming, if your lag comparison is correct.

I only tried it once because I moved to another house but it worked 100%.
