3D Vision Issues
  1 / 2
I've been trying to get 3D vision working on my G73SW laptop (GTX 460m). All of my drivers are up to date, I have 3DTV Play installed, and Nvidia's test demos work fine. However, whenever I try to play a game it will not actually display in 3D. My display switches to 3D mode, and my glasses detect it accordingly, but the game is still in two dimensions. I have tried all combinations of switching resolutions outside/inside of game, and I'm totally out of ideas. I'm specifically trying to play Tomb Raider, but for testing purposes I have tried Arkham City and Unigen Heaven benchmark. I've also noticed that my settings are greyed out, if that matters. http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/1091/3dvision.png Any help?

For Tomb Raider, you have to have it set to exclusive fullscreen, and enable 3d (ingame options)

Yep, I've done both. I can turn 3D on, but as soon as I click Apply it defaults back to off. :/

Hm, I haven't really tried 3d tv play, hopefully someone else can offer more advice than I can. However I can say that card won't give you much in the way of performance in 3d.

3DTV Play only activates if connected via HDMI to a HDMI 1.4 compliant 3D HDTV/Projector. What connection are you using? What Display? What driver version are you using? What operating system are you using? Nvidia dropped Vista stereoscopic support a few drivers ago. Have you tried using control+t, it turn 3D on and off (be sure to enable the advanced keys for convergence in the control panel) Normally there is a green Nvidia logo in the control panel, but they recently changed things and I haven't checked out the new driver to comfirm it would still be there.

HDMI 1.4 Sony PS 3D Display Latest as of a couple days ago Windows 7 Yes. I'm starting to think that it's the display. In theory it should work, as Nvidia says that most 3D HDMI displays will. Not to mention the act that I'm sure I had DXHR working about a year ago. Ctrl-t does nothing, and I can't even access the settings as shown in my screenshot. Yet Nvidia's demoes work flawlessly. I'm stumped.

There's a whole thread on that monitor. Don't know if it has any answers, but it's worth a look.

If you notice you Stereoscopic 3D display type is listed as HDMI Blu-Ray 3D, that's all you can do on it is watch 3D Blus until NVIDIA adds support for it. I don't think it's supported yet from the looks of the thread on it. You can try to get them to add it to 3DTV Play by going here: http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2774/ Not sure if there's a way around it or not, it really is ridiculous that it isn't supported yet. There may be a way around it I'm not sure, I have no experience with them. Nvidia specifically stated that they have no intention of supporting 3D monitors that are not certified/licensed by them. Such as the PS3, LG Passives or Samsungs. You'll need to find some kind of workaround, read that thread perhaps there is one in it.

I wouldn't really consider it a monitor, it's more of a TV (HDMI & Component in only, has built-in speakers) it should be supported by 3DTV Play. @Pirateguybrush Lol. No problem. :D

It doesn't have a tuner, so why would you call it a TV? From Nvidia Customer Care "Thank you for your submission. I'm afraid the current Sony 3D monitors are not NVIDIA 3D Vision Ready certified and are not supported by NVIDIA 3D Vision or 3DTV Play software. There is currently no plan to add support for the Sony CECH-ZED1U." https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/506672/3d-vision/3dtv-play-playstation-3d-display-24-34-support-/post/3612726/#3612726

lol There was also a post by Andrew Fear, I believe it was in one of the S23A700D or S27A950 threads where he said they would not be supporting them, but would be glad to work with Samsung to get the monitors certified. What gets me is that these projector manufacturers can get their projectors certified. Viewsonic, Optoma, Ben Q, Acer, etc... what the F is wrong with these monitor manufacturers!

Well, I tried one of the modified .nif drivers that some people had used, but ended up needing to use System Restore as it is not properly compatible with 3x GeForce drivers. I've sent Nvidia a ticket, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see if they add compatibility or not. (Or somebody else releases updated modified drivers.) Thanks for the help!
