Age of Conan Its on the not recommended list but why?
So about a year ago when AOC came out I played it for about a month and thought it was awesome, I finally figured heres an mmo I can actually get into. But due to the game essentially being broken and constantly screwing up I quit, just like the other 80 to 90 percent of their user base. After I got 3d Vision I went through almost all of my games again to try them in 3d but due to AOC being on the not recommended list I didnt even bother, until now. Right now due to a large update that has hit the AOC community they are inviting back all people who have had an account in the past to come back and try the game now for 2 weeks for free and see the changes. Well as it was free I decided to try it out with the 3d vision and I dont even understand why its on the not recommended list because its awesome. I couldnt get it to work in dx10 but in dx9 its great. I have everything turned all the way up except for shadows which are disabled and I dropped the slider for particle view distance all the way because the particles only render in one eye. The only thing that is a little wierd is that every once in a while Ill get a tree or two in the distance that render bright blue but thats the only issue and it doesnt bother me at all or affect gameplay. Everything else works fine and it is really freaking cool, so cool in fact that I am going to resubscribe and keep playing it and if anyone else has had an account before I urge u to try it out in 3d for free.

We've been testing this game. In DX9 there are a few major problems:

1. When objects get too close to the screen, they jump from S-3D to mono. So, imagine a tree in 3D approaching you, and as soon as it gets close to the screen, it becomes flat.
2. I have to double check, but a lot of elements are rendered in 2D while their surrounding elements are in S-3D.
3. Lots of post processing errors.

Try achieving out of screen effects (convergence with CTRL-F6), and the flaws will be more apparent. It would be good if a profile could fix these issues.

I have my convergence set properly and it runs fine except for the blue trees thing I already stated, but everything is in 3d and I've been playing for the past 4 days.

I played AoC in the beta and for the first month after, then left the game...considered coming back after the recent patch, but after experiencing how bad the stereo performance is I ditched that idea. Like Chopper said, a lot of things render in 2d in the middle of a 3d scene. Trees didn't render flat for me, they rendered blue -- like electric neon blue, like a "green screen" sort of look. Very weird.

I had hoped the "not recommended" rating would be an overstatement, but sadly it's not. It just doesn't work well at all in stereo.
