Tommy and roller, thanks for the tips!!!!

BTW, roller, what Samsung glasses do you have, SSG-2100AB and SSG-2200AR or just one of the models? The rechargeable glasses are sold a part from the TV and they look really nice and are very confortable, but they really suck cause they have loss of sync all the time and for games is even worst than bluray3D. I have 3 samsung rechargeable glasses model 2200 and 1 2100 model that requires external battery. The 2100 don't lose sync as offen but I dislike them cause they aren't confortable.

You said something about duct tape, but that's a silver tape, I've just google it cause I didn't undertand what was a duct tape, here in Brazil we call this silvertape.
I don't understand how this will make the glasses avoid syncing issues, since it's going to completely block the receiver window of my glasses????

Is this the duct tape you're refering about? link: http://www.google.com.br/search?um=1&hl=pt-BR&biw=1440&bih=728&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=duct+tape&oq=duct+tape&aq=f&aqi=g1&aql=&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=145767l147357l0l9l8l0l4l4l0l318l861l0.2.1.1

if this helps, I really would like to try this out. Please, take a picture of your glasses with the tape you're using on it, so I'll have a better clue about what you're talking about and how you glued this tape on your glasses. Really looking foward for that.

Yes, that's the stuff. I have my window completely covered on my glasses. Start with a small piece that just covers your window. If no help, try moving it around uncovering small amounts of the window. The tape has stickly on one side so no need to use extra glue.

Of course nothing changes. Sony's PC mode selector is not done with input labels. Sony uses the 'scene' option to select PC mode.
No it doesn't, there is no PC mode on a Sony, just "game mode", which simply turns off extraneous video processing like backlight dimming, noise reduction, motionflow, etc. Pixels are 1:1 mapped by the Tv in a native resolution when the TV's aspect ratio is set to "full".

You can't find a screen that shows like 8-10 icons, default is 'auto'?
Graphics, pictures, photos, are some icon labels that come to mind.

Your Samsung TV didn't came with any glasses? How much you paid for NXG glasses, have you ever used Samsung glasses? If you did, are there considerable differences regarding brightness and ghosting?

I'll try using the tape, but I can't understand how glasses still work after you complete cover the IR window with a fick tape, don't glasses need to receive IR signals from that window????

Libertine, those bluetooth glasses, do they work with any HDMI 1.4 3D Ready TV like Samsung? I don't recall if my TV supports BT???

Libertine,

I have taken 3D pictures by hitting Alt + F1 while playing games. I've taken pictures of Just Cause 2 in Frame Packing 1080p24hz/720p60hz video mode (sharpness set to zero at all times to eliminate the ugly edges), Frame Sequential PC mode 1080p60hz/768p60hz and also as you wanted to know about checkerboard, I have also taken pictures of Checkerboard 1080p60hz without the annoying red message, cause I'm using Roller's HW circuit red message suppressor for CB.
Thanks Francomg, i appreciate the effort. Theres a couple problems with analysing these pics in this way. One is that the CB patterned signal is converted to SBS .jps. You can see this by changing the name from .jps to .jpg and zooming in to look for gaps in the pixels. So there must be some approximating going on to fill in the gaps, otherwise the CB screenshot would look off.

The other problems are that the pics aren't of the same thing which makes it difficult to compare them. Idealy, you'd take a screenshot in each mode after loading a quicksave, or in the case of games like Metro 2033, the 3D main menu. If you think about it, just moving the mouse a hair can greatly effect the amount of jaggies on a line. The other nice thing, for future reference, would be to use lossless, uncompressed .pns files to take sc's with.

Im now interested in a Samsung just for the full 1080p @60hz using frame sequential, with the CB being a bonus. The D8000 LED/backlit is getting way too many negative comments, although i can't afford it for awhile anyway.

Other than Video what is the nature of these negative comments?
Have you read any negative comments about PC 3D gaming in CB or FS mode? I would be shocked if any published reviews are evaluating PC 3D gaming on a Samsung or any other HDTV, at least I've never heard of any.

Are you viewing those pics in your TV or do you also own a 120hz LCD display? FS 1080p60hz is amazing, and it just doesn't get any better. It's the best 3D mode ever for a 3D Ready HDTV, cause it's full resolution per eye, 30fps (console average frame rate) and 60hz = smoother gameplay. FP in 1080p may look beautifull but it's lame and unplayable, so you have to chose 720p60hz and there miles diference between 3D gaming 720p and 1080p. The difference is so big, that CB in 1080p60hz (half resolution per eye) looks far superior compared to FP 720p60hz, so you see that native Full HD resolution is much more important than full vs half resolution per eye, there's just no arguing on that.

FS also lets you chose among many resolutions, not just 1080p and 720p, and all of them gives you 30fps and 60hz. You don't need to set NCP in that 720p or 1080p before playing 3d games, it works just like a 120hz display, you just start a game and play at any resolution in 3D. No need to change anything in NCP like FP. 3DV suport for 3D games is much better than 3DTV Play, some games don't work well with 3DTV Play, but thy all work with 3DVision FS cause it's Nvidia mandatory mode for 3D gaming.
The advantages of FS vs FP are enormous, so there's just no going back to 3DTV Play for me ever. Even bluray3D I can use FS mode for PowerDVD10 that it works just like if my TV was a 120hz display.

I just don't want to play games in my 120hz display anymore cause of FS and CB options in my Samsung 3D plasma TV. 3DTV Play never gave me this feeling, rather the opposite..

Only 2011 Samsung 3D TVs use Bluetooth. Before that everything was IR. Next year Samsung is supposed to make the move to passive 3D.

None of these technologies is compatible with each other.

It's arguable.

If done right, there could be less ghosting, same or better visual quality, and it's more comfortable with less eyestrain. Glasses are lighter and MUCH cheaper (like $10 or less). No batteries. No recharging.

If done poorly, however, there could be more ghosting and the brightness is much lower, and the resolution is half.

At the movie theater you are seeing passive 3D (probably RealD technology). I saw Avatar at the theater and thought it looked fine. Didn't really notice any ghosting. But I've seen a LG tv at Best Buy using passive and it was absolutely terrible. Beyond terrible. To the point I'm almost sure something had to be broken in the tv. But maybe not. Maybe it's just that bad. I've seen reviews which like passive tv's though. So who knows.

Samsung is working with RealD to make this technology next year. They are doing it differently than LG and Vizio and have full resolution. Essentially there is a "shutter" inside the tv. Different polarized light is sent for each eye for every line of resolution (unlike LG/Vizio which just sends every other line to each eye). Who knows how good it will look though. I personally would prefer this over active since there is ZERO chance of ghosting due to syncing the glasses (and no interference problems like in IR glasses) since there is no syncing involved. If it looks good, I plan to buy next year. Few weeks ago they announced monitors and 55 inch tv supposedly by next year.

What is the advantage of passive? I mean visual quality advantage, the thing we care about.
