Set certain games to not launch in 3D?
Hi all,

It's probably somewhere obvious and I've completely missed it, but is there a way to set only certain games to launch in 3D?

For example, I prefer playing The Old Republic in 2D but most other stuff in 3D, and find it annoying having to go into the Nvidia Control Panel before each time I start TOR to untick 'Enable Stereoscopic 3D'.

If I press the hotkey during a game to switch off 3D, while it goes back to a single image the monitor (ASUS VG278h) still stays in 3D mode where it's way too bright and washed out.

I was hoping there would be an option in 'Manage 3D Settings' where you set game profiles for anti-aliasing and other stuff to tell it to use stereoscopic 3D or not, but that option is absent. /blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

We have been asking for this kind of functionality, similar to SLI/AA profiles and custom compatibility flags similar to what we had with nHancer/Inspector, along with a host of other features for a very long time now. I don't think we will see this anytime soon as Nvidia keeps their 3D Vision profiles and the info/functionality contained within them very close to the vest.

Two things you can try:

1) Click the box to "Disable 3D on start-up". This will still only give you 1xGPU performance because 3D stereo driver is still engaged, but you shouldn't get the brightness issue.
2) Go to start menu > nvidia corporation > enable/disable 3D Vision and create 2 shortcuts on your desktop. Then disable/enable 3D Vision depending whether you want to play the game in 3D or not. I suppose you could make a batch file for a particular game that does this too if you really wanted to.
