"3d vision ready" games look terrible on my passive
I bought an LG D2342P this past week, and i know it is not on the normal list of monitors but I was able to get it to work this weekend via Zalman override drivers. I play games on my geoforce 460 v2.
It plays most games on the "excellent list" absolutely great. I'm particularily impressed with the way path of exile beta and dota 2 look.
Anyways, the two games that I own that are listed as "3d vision ready" are Trine 1 and Metro 2033. Both of these have a ridiculous overlap (The images are like 1/2 to 1 inch apart or more, i have to cross my eyes like its a magic eye poster in order to see it in 3d)
I'm just wondering if this is because "3d vision ready" is specifically for active glasses, or if it is meant to work fine on most passive screens.
Also, any suggestions on a way to change/ calibrate this to tighten how far apart the two images are?

Thanks

Sorry to reply so soon, but is this what "3d depth" in the nvidia control panel changes? It was on the default of 15, and when i lower it the picture does seem to come out better but i dont know how good the actual 3d will look compared to how it should.

Depth, turn it up till the separation between the images of things on the horizon match the distance between your eyes. Hotkey is Ctrl+F3 and Ctrl+F4.

46" Samsung ES7500 3DTV (checkerboard, high FOV as desktop monitor, highly recommend!) - Metro 2033 3D PNG screens - Metro LL filter realism mod - Flugan's Deus Ex:HR Depth changers - Nvidia tech support online form - Nvidia support: 1-800-797-6530

Those hot keys might not be right - you aren't using 3D Vision at all, from the sound of it. You might want to try Zalman's website or perhaps MTBS 3D.

They are the same for "Optimized for GeForce 3d". Also be sure to enable the controls for convergence in the control panel. Don't know why they have it not enabled by default. Took me over a month to discover it myself and I ended up having not as good of a 3d experience because of it.
