I'm currently running NVIDIA 3D Vision in 'clone' mode on my Quadro 4000, outputting to stereo passive projectors, and the configuration works well games, movies, and other 3D applications. I'm currently using the latest beta drivers (340.59), though I recently upgraded from 333.11, and I'm on Windows 7 x64.
I've come to getting Google Earth to be displayed in stereo 3D, as the NVIDIA control panel lists Google Earth as having a supported stereoscopic profile. However, after trying the latest versions of Google Earth (v7.x+) and its various options (full screen, Ctrl+T for enabling 3D vision, DirectX, OpenGL, graphics safe mode), I have only managed success with a combination of using:

TriDef3D must launch Google Earth for this to work. Once it does, though, the 3D vision profile is picked up correctly once Google Earth enters full screen mode -- the green game info (Ctrl+Alt+Insert to hide) gets displayed and I can use NVIDIA's keyboard shortcuts.
Here's what I've tested that doesn't work:

One notable difference between Google Earth 6 and 7 that I saw is that the "Renderer" in the About window changes from 'DirectX 9' to simply 'DirectX'. This might explain why TriDef3D crashes if DirectX support has changed.
I've been through several driver iterations over the last few months and no changes to this behaviour have been noticed. TriDef with Google Earth 6 still continues to work with the latest drivers. However, this isn't optimal since Google Earth 7 adds newer features that I require for displaying certain KML files, which is why I'd like to get this working.
Has anyone managed Google Earth 7.x+ in stereoscopic 3D? Is this a bug or issue with the 3D profile for Google Earth in NVIDIA's drivers?

As a final aside, my 3D Display is configured to 'Always' be in 3D mode. Changing this option appears to have no effect on my desktop or on any application. The NVIDIA drivers always appear have the display running as 2D and then 3D "kicks in" when a 3D application is launched or otherwise enables 3D output.

As for D-Man11's suggestion, I should have mentioned I did try Google Earth Pro (7.1) as well. For both the free version and Pro, I have no luck with either DirectX and OpenGL modes.

I'm pretty sure you'll have to be in fullscreen mode, but it sounds like he knows that.
