The Witcher 2 in 3D Vision Official thread from NVIDIA

I am relatively new to these forums, but have been impressed with how the Nvidia reps have been active in keeping us informed about working on issues. In most forums you never hear from corporate reps who are trying to hide from issues, so it's refreshing to see that this is not the case here. I am holding off playing until the fix comes out, game looks too good in s3d to spoil the gameplay until it's ready.

The point is, they have already announced and release a fix that actually did nothing at all to solve the main problem.
You know, people tend to become, how can I say... "skeptical" after something like this.
Just like Portal 2's fix which came 1 MONTH after the game's release date.
If they didn't bother to patch Portal's 3D profile for 30 days, and they are now scrambling and trying to work out a hotfix, I suppose it means that either they were paid a lot more for the Witcher 2's 3D profile than Portal 2's(and the developers are kicking nVidia's ass for screwing up so badly), or they already knew the drivers would be totally useless, and know we wouldn't be fooled twice with the same trick.

Why do people need to act like little children? Unless of course some of you are little children, my apologies to little children everywhere...
In any case, it's good to hear that an update is forthcoming. This being an expansive RPG with multiple outcomes, I'm hardly waiting around for 3D and sulking - just play the damn game. It's gorgeous. Games like this need to be played in 2D and 3D both: 2D for best contrast to bring out the art design, 3D for depth. It's just annoying that I have to disable 3D for everything else while I play because of this bug with 3D drivers being installed.
And I don't know about 3D *and* Surround, but I've tried both separately and there is ample game support for each tech *if* you do your research beforehand on what games are compatible and know what you're getting into.
Now personally I found Surround to not be worth the effort. Some games have FOV issues (too much fisheye), others have aspect ratio issue (so everything is zoomed), and others have UI everywhere (like Dragon Age, HUD elements on far left and far right). Just too much hassle. So the idea of 3D *and* Surround does not really appeal to me.
3D by itself though is just great. I waited until the 27" monitor came out because 23" is too small for my tastes. Very pleased that it works in most of the games I play and I just need one 580 to power it.

Hi! How did you managed to make the game work in Surround? by the look at the screenshot it seems that is 3x1920x1080 and the fish-eye effect appears? Any information?

Guys a guy called Hayden over in WideScreenGaming Forum has made a fix for this game to be played in full Widescreen.. AWSOME!!!!!!
Below is his message:--
Case: lulz case http://www.flawlesswidescreen.org/
It's very BETA guys, but for the witcher.... make sure flawlessws is running before you start the witcher...
make sure enabled is ticked under advanced....
Start the witcher 2.
I have used the above fix and its really good, it is still in beta you may notice issues but over all great.
The above Widescreen shots with 3D vision enabled the FPS ran between 20 to 40. Which is great with a resolution of 5040x1050, just waiting on the driver fix so that thr frame rate last more then 10mins.

Nice:) At the moment it runs only for the Steam version. GoG and D2 Versions are not supported. Waiting for the fix on those 2 versions and the 3D vision driver fix. Imagine playing this in 3D surround...now that would be epic!

Hey GTRedx69 , how have you managed to run at 5040x1050 on fullscreen ? That seems to be impossible here with the new beta drivers.
Hi!
I would like to ask you 3 questions:
- Are you running the steam version?
- Are you running the game in window mode? with the hack/fix?
- Do you have the 3D Vision Driver installed? or I have to uninstall that to work?
I ask because I have the GoG edition and it seems that even if I put the fix in bin folder and correctly detects my game process and resolution I still get center screen picture only.
