Is this how the water is supposed to look with the antifreeze patch thing on? It doesnt seem any different to me than it was before, but then again i still have the water reflection options all unchecked in the launcher, is that what its supposed to fix? Is there a way to fix this blue halo around weapon/hands and the edges of the water? thats the main annoyance.

Currently there is no complete fix for the water and turning reflections off doesn't do anything. On a separate note the Tesval layer wasn't responsible for the performance increase (it didn't even load:(), it was the latest driver that boosted performance.

Been playing with lighting and the battle I just had with two dragons at the same time was intense, this was in Riverwood and it really shows the lighting well. Objects also catch fire. I have uploaded the jps files into a zip to make it easier 1.8mb in size :)

Everyone says that Skyrim is 3D-awesome, but i seem to have mountains at the same depth as a character is. Not a lot of 3D i think. :-( Am i doing something wrong? =(

Just curious, what display are you using? Those screenshot look good, most that i see look wrong and i think it has to do with my large screen spreading the image wider than it would on a typical display.

Play around with convergence, it seems like you are only using separation.

Hi

Is there a way to pull the camera back a bit in first person? I want my eyes to go backwards about a 50 cms or something

Also, to save me diggin, what FOV would you recommend for my 23" monitor and what command would I need to enter into the ini?

Thanks!

You can set the fov in the game by bringing up the command console and typing fov followed by a value. Makes it easy to experiment

Fov 90 holds up pretty well on most systems.

1/ heavy yes, use a £3 hat ( mod widely available online) and it spreads the weight around allowing to play for hours with no discomfort. But out of the box yes it is uncomfortable.
2/ no way to use your own equipment = slide headphones up and use your own sound system ( I use my own 7.1 receiver n speakers)
3/ £800 toy yes won't replace a TV as I wouldn't watch the news on it no, but play skyrim like ure actually there... Let me tell you that's an experience like no other !!!!
It might be 720p but because the OLED screens ( and not horrible led or worse LCD that can't display a bit of black) are so small 0.7 inch the pixel density is amazing ! U can actually crank up anti aliasing full blast and what seems to be a low resolution at first turns out to look stunning.
You're right, I use to think exactly the same as you about the resolution and all that but once use actually tried them, as I said, there's no going back!!!! I owned a kuro 9th gen and the blacks are actually better on the headset !!!! Colurs are very natural, and obviously because you get two screens there's no crosstalk or ghosting AT ALL. Now can you say the same about your " 27inch" monitor ? no... I didn't think so.
Again it won't replace your tv but hey you wouldn't replace ur tv for a monitor either would you? Tv for family and friends, headset when ure on your own and you want 100% immersion and believe me it's more like 200% immersion!
Now before criticising my advice please try it first and then get back to me bikeracer. Ive had crts, lcds, LEDs , plasma and now OLED , so it's fair to say that I know what I'm on about.
Again it's only my advice, I would sell the screen, one of the the GPUs and get the Sony headset.
[/quote]

I also own the HMZ, and darkseb88 is not kidding on the black levels. They are nuts. If you are used to LCD or DLP you will be floored by them. Also, can you shoot me a link on the hat mod? Thanks!

fDefault1stPersonFOV=65.0000
fDefaultWorldFOV=65.0000
fDefaultFOV=65.0000
fNear1stPersonDistance=5.0000
fNearDistance=15.0000

The above settings can be added to skyrim.ini under Display.
personally I have only changed fNear1stPersonDistance=5.0000 to 65 and fDefault1stPersonFOV=65.0000 to 85. Thus controlling the first person view.

Also you can switch from 3rd to 1st person using the f key. No need to scroll.

One of the last two commands will probably pull you further in/out from camera.

As stated you can also use the console to change your FOV, however, you are going to start seeing quite a bit of fishbowling in your periphery after ~65 FOV. At 90, you start seeing it even closer to center.

Did you ever find a fix for this? I'm having exactly the same problems, game runs fine in Ultra in 2d but as soon as I enable 3d is grinds to a complete halt, even in the loading screen, it won't load.

AMD Phenom x6 1090T, 8gb corsair dominator DDR3, GeForce 560Ti 1gb, creative X-Fi fidel1ty

Delete skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini and load the game via the launcher and test. It will recreate these files for you and any mods you have installed disable (deactivate) them

I installed the 3dvision moon fix and i swear it doesnt look right see 3d attachment :(

With the other attachment I have a weird blue outline when I am near water!

So, I've posted before, but to restate I have a VG278H Monitor and a great rig. Skyrim is amazing in 3d, but I'm getting terrible ghosting, which is especially noticeable on the loading screens and in snow. I have set my contrast from 75 down to 55, but that really didn't help at all. The only thing that helps is putting the depth down to 10% or less, which sucks to do cause then the 3d isn't hardly noticeable. Anyone else having this issue with crosstalk? And I was wondering what other people had their depth and convergence set to?
