Nvidia have in the past always adopted the attitude that you if you want to invert sync then there is a problem. Even when Andrew Fear was active on these forums, they just weren't interested in giving us the option. I see it as a feature, they see it as a workaround. If only Tridef supported SLI then I would abandon Nvidia wihtout looking back. It's a shame that they are so unwilling to add features to 3d vision. It's completely neglected these days.

Isn't the setting stored somewhere? Registry setting maybe? Or is that just on DLP? I remember someone saying that during the 3D Setup Wizard, depending on which image you chose for the left/right eyes depended on the outcome of the polarity. If so, we should be able to make a reg file to merge with the registry and swap the polarity. Unfortunately I'm not near mine to dig around in the registry at the moment.

Logically that's what it would do, but in NVidia world, if you choose the 'wrong' combo it just gives you an error message and won't let you continue. There has been discussion of a tempting registry field, but that also is a dead-end. There is one there, but it is for the last-gen shutter glasses, before 3D Vision. It doesn't work in the current driver. At the moment, I'm pretty sure that we are just out of luck for inversion.

Read post 5 in this thread https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/409313/3d-vision/post-registry-entries-here-user-documented-3d-registry-entries/ Or perhaps registry entries from the 3D Vision Video player or photo viewer, for sync inversion can be copied and pasted over?

The registry "hacks" don't work because nVidia seems to have deleted those keys to not allow us the option.. I can understand that they are trying to force the companies to license their products, but I've got 2 DLP projectors that ARE licensed and therefore should NEVER have a problem with that. They just should deliver this option. I stayed away from ATI because I thought with nVidia my project would be a plug and play experience.. Now I know better.. People who are thinking about running 3D should really consider NOT going the nVidia way.. I'm more than disappointed, not to say pissed as I spent good money on my setup (GTX680, 2 Projectors, Screen, 3D Vision set, etc.)

@3DVisionary : Thanks a lot for this post!!!! As you said it's not a local problem of your configuration but a general issue for all DLP users. I'll support you 100% . Like you i won't post my conf. (already done that without success...), i want the solution for everyone. @NVIDIA : If you can explain why there is no plan to add this hotkey of combo in the conf, we may understand it. We perfectly know that it will take less time to developp (or unlock it) than anwering to this thread for each DLP user... @NIVIDIA : are you aware than most users who go from NVIDIA to AMD/3def are doing it for this issue??? Thanks in advance

I'm not sure if I tried it on the latest set of drivers, I never understand why they keep changing things that don't need to be changed. Anyone know which image is supposed to be left, and right? My DLP-Link glasses have a reverse function so it never really matters.

For regular 3D Vision setup via the Setup Wizard, one will succeed, the other will give you a fatal error that says your hardware is not working properly. You cannot finish the wizard. No idea what happens with 3D TV Play, maybe someone else can weigh in.

I just tried both and it didn't fail on either, it just flickered a bunch of times when I set it wrong and then reversed the stereo effect. I had to wear my DLP-Link glasses upside down to get the correct stereo effect. Initially when I install drivers I have to unplug from my Onkyo receiver and straight into my Mitsubishi in order to get it to enable 3D but then I can plug back into my Onkyo and choose Generic DLP. When I redo the 3D Setup Wizard now I get "3D Ready display not found" and the options to select CRT, DLP, or Discover. I choose DLP and I can choose either or in the polarity setup and it passes both ways.

Hey, thanks for trying that out. It's great to know that at least for the unknown mode that the wizard works like you'd expect, and allow you swap eyes when necessary. That also suggests that an EDID hack would allow somebody to modify their display so that they can get access to the DLP mode and allow eye-swap.

I am bumping this thread. I just bought a brand-new 3D Vision 2 kit, an extra pair of glasses, and a ROG Swift (Asus PG278Q) and I am running into the dreaded L/R swapped issue. I googled for a solution and I am shocked (well maybe not shocked considering the arrogance of NVIDIA) and dismayed that you guys will not fix this by merely adjusting the sync to match what the emitter and glasses are creating. You steadfastly refuse to address the issue by simply accepting the user's input and setting the sync accordingly; instead you say you want to "fix the sync issue," whatever the f*** that means. That this thread is over four years old now and I am coming across it because out of the box I am running into this fatal defect where I have to either "lie" to the setup wizard and wear the glasses upside down to obtain a decent image, or contend with the fact that I just dropped $1,000 on electronic paperweights. That you will not fix this by simply offering a "Swap L/R" option in the control panel, setup wizard, and via hotkey to address the MANY customer complaints around this bug is completely F***tarded. It's as if we're the only sane and intelligent people trying to talk to the commoners in Idiocracy. We tell you that it's broken and that we need a fix and you come back essentially with "Right, kick ass. Well, don't want to sound like a dick or nothin', but, ah... it says on your chart that you're f***ed up. Ah, you talk like a f4g, and your s***'s all retarded. What I'd do, is just like... like... you know, like, you know what I mean, like... " You're basically telling us that we're idiots for wanting the quick and easy solution (as engineers you should follow the KISS principle) and insisting that you "fix it right" and yet here we are, four years later where I have brand-new 3D Vision 2 kit with a spare pair of glasses, the best 3D gaming monitor available, running the very latest available drivers as of this morning (Jul 18 2015) and I am running into this fracking bug that you STILL HAVE NOT FIXED. What gives?!?! Why the hell am I running into this during the setup wizard where the software doesn't just accept that L/R is reversed (your fault for that I might add) and invert the L/R images? It's a stupid-easy solution and any competent engineer would take the easy solution since the issue crops up time and again. So yeah, here we are four years later, and I'm running into this ancient defect because you buggers won't fix it. What gives?

Just an FYI, NVIDIA very rarely actually frequents this part of the forum, or at least responds to issues here. It's just other users trying to help each other out ... I've been using 3D Vision glasses recently with my DLP and have had this issue randomly while starting games, pretty much half the time it's reversed. So I made my own lil utility that uses Ctrl+Shift+T to swap the polarity. I just don't know if it'll work on anything but DLP or not and I have no way to test it ... other than maybe forcing Anaglyph on my rig. Edit:It didn't seem to work with Anaglyph, I'll mess with it more later when I get a chance ... well at least there may be way I can test more stuff out. :/
