3D Gaming @ 720P. How to improve visuals and general advice.

Good thread. Been playing 720p since moving from a passive 3dtv. Projector at 720p 3d is amazing but i could'nt live with the bulbs dwindling so i just got a plasma instead. Nothing compares to a dlp with good 3d glasses, the crosstalk performance is out of this world. I like anything that can give me a better 720p 3d image so i'll be keeping my eye epen in this thread, thanks for it :)

Is 2x2 supersampling through nvidia inspector at all feasable at 720p with beefy enough system.

Thanks to everybody using my assembler it warms my heart.
To have a critical piece of code that everyone can enjoy!
What more can you ask for?

Yep, great thread! I also play in 720p (i have a passive LG 3DTV and have to use 3DTV play). I recommend SweetFX (eqzitara mention along with others injectors)...with this injector if you only want to add AA and sharpness to image (an not all others stuff like vibrance, saturation, Color, Bloom, HDR, etc) you have to only enable SMAA and LumaSharpen in sweetfx_settings.ini. And this injector its 100% compatible with helix DLL. I always use the highest in-game AA option + Sweetfx...and tbh my conclusions about quality image (720p vs 1080p) are the same posted in the firt page... 1080p always be the king, but 720p + a lot of AA looks pretty damn close to 1080p...and the performance hit its lower. Also Sweetfx offers others visual improvements, if you search on google you can find a lot of settings/profiles for different games and comparative pictures....some settings really improve image quality in certain games, for example Dead Space series with Sweetfx looks amazing. @Everyone with DLP projectors. Do DLP projectors give you diamond shaped pixels, is it a DLP thing? On my DLP 3D HDTV I don't have traditional square pixels instead they're diamond-shaped, like looking through a window screen that's been rotated 45 degrees. Personally I really like the look of it, it's like anti-aliasing for your eyes.
Pretty impressive, thanks for posting.
I know really and I was just going to post pics of Tomb Raider through my cheapo $25 DLP=Link glasses taken with my phone. Hell they're even hosted at his own website. Sheesh. :D

The newer LED pico DLP projectors have diamond shaped pixels. As far as I know all other DLP projectors have square pixels.

As another DLP projector user, I say thanks for this post, eqzitara! I've been using TrueDepth DLP-Link glasses for awhile now, but will be receiving an NVidia 3D Vision 2 kit tomorrow. Hopefully they work better for the game I'm playing right now: Mass Effect 3. The ghosting around bright lights was very apparent with the TrueDepth; like they didn't get dark enough to block the light. I'll definitely be trying these AA recommendations, also. I was always reluctant to try SweetFX and other injectors with the Helix mod.

@Pyrocles Sometimes in UE3 games you need to paste an additional copy of your dx9settings.ini one/two levels up. Thats the only prob I had with injectors, might help. BTW, before switching to the 3d vision 2's. ME3 was the game that got me to searching for better 3d glasses. In the cargo bay it was everywhere no matter what glasses. On guardrails/lights its was terrible. Now I dont have it anymore. Would love to hear your opinion when you get new glasses.
Any tips for Witcher 3? Geralt shoulders are too pixelated. DSR is not a option, needs too much performance.
TV or projector? There was a thread where a user with a Joker avatar discovered a way to increase horizontal resolution in projectors. Anyway, do you want more resolution or just antialiasing? The game has an AA option, but it's post processing AA. Also, there is a LOD bias option in the configuration file that you probably want to edit.

Nvidia released a SSAA exe when they disabled it in the drivers due to the performance hit and the introduction of less costly AA. I've never tried it, has anyone? Maybe this solution could be implemented in the 3Dmigoto ini for 720P projectors users? I've no idea, but since it integrates other features with Nvidia's drivers, maybe it's a possibilty? SSAA @720P with newer GPUs and their added memory might be better these days vs the past.

Sweet FX uses post processing SMAA similar to FXAA IIRC. Absolutely horrible IMO. You could try just softening the lens focus of the projector so that it doesn't show jaggies any more?

Found the download http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2624/~/is-there-a-way-to-get-full-screen-supersampling-in-release-256%3F Is there a way to get full-screen supersampling in Release 256? Answer ID 2624 Updated 08/21/2013 10:49 PM In the launch drivers for GeForce GTX 400 series GPUs, there was a bug in the Transparency Antialiasing implementation that enabled full-screen supersampling. Is there any way to still get full-screen supersampling in Release 256? Yes. Release 256 drivers do fix the implementation of Transparency Antialiasing (TRAA) and now offer up to 25% performance improvements with TRAA enabled. However, since some of our gaming really enthusiasts liked the full-screen supersampling, we have created a tool for users that allows them to enable 2x, 4x, and 8x full-screen supersampling. You can download the tool "NVIDIA SSAA.exe" from the File Attachments section below.

Isn't this just SGSSAA? Afaik, you needed special flags per game, and blurring occurred. It was somewhat mitigated by clamping LOD, but then nVidia decided to disable LOD clamping, go figure. Anyway, thread on SGSSAA here: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=357956 DSR far surpasses this in both visual quality and performance, so it has died a somewhat quick death...
