There will be stereoscopic 3D, and set up stereoscopic 3d section, or 3DTV play setup in NV control panel (right click desktop, nvidia cp). If not clean install forceware 280.26. Also you need 3dtv play trial installed and activated. The tv may need to be set as the primary monitor.

Yeah, I see it in the User Guide, but not on my machine.
It looks like I -must- have the "Nvidia Controller" (aka emitter) attached in order for it to activate. This is a big bummer as there's no reason for me to buy the thing (my laptop doesn't have a 3D screen and the emitter is "required to activate 3DTV Play" but "isn't active when using 3DTV Play", i.e., it basically works as $150 DRM. This according to the same User Guide. =|
I'm SUPER disappointed. Not that it matters obviously, but I specifically picked this laptop (with an Nvidia card) because I thought it supported "3D out over HDMI" as is, not with $150 worth of hardware I don't need.

nVidia offers to buy the 3DVision software independently to be used with 3D TV sets. With that, it's not required to use the emitter to get a 3D signal on the HDMI output.

Hey. That's what I had thought, but that's the rub. My laptop came with a "system license" for 3DTV Play (per the Nvidia control panel UI!), but I do not get the Stereoscopic page in the Nvidia control panel, only the 3D settings page.

So after the game was fixed and brought back to its "3D Vision Ready" status I finally got it and all I have to say is woow....The best looking game I have had a chance to play. The game simply comes to live in 3D with all settings on ultra and is definitely the game that shows what 3D vision can do. I am now just exploring and taking screenshot after screenshot as the locations are simply amazing.
Well done nvidia and CD project. Really well done /thanks.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thanks:' />
I am just wondering if I should update to 2.0 since there are split opinions on the impact of this latest patch.

Actually, I have noticed a problem since the 2.0 patch - Playing with an Xbox controller - The selection (cursor) randomly moves on its own in the inventory screen, sometimes so quickly it prevents you from selecting what you intended. E.G. I'll have an enhancement selected in my pouch, and press the 'A' button to upgrade a sword, but instead, I have suddenly un-equipped my boots because the cursor changed split-second. VERY irritating.

I am glad you brought that up. I thought it was my controller and was going to get a new one this weekend. It does seem a little off, but tolerable.

You can purchase a '3dplay' license for $40US. The documentation is VERY LACKING in that it does not even mention this option or does it mention that once installed you'll require a .INF file for your TV that tells Vision that you have a vision compatible monitor attached. Nor does the software provide any useful error messages (would 'attached monitor does not support 3d be to much to ask for here?) to let you know that a simple .INF file hack is all that is required to get it working.
Install the 3d vision software (included with the latest driver versions), run the 3dplay patch. (never mind that you don't have a 3d emitter), google search on 'nvidia vision .inf hack', with the TV attached and operational (in 2D) navigate to your control panel-hardware manager-display and check the attached monitor type. Odds are it is 'generic' which does not support 3D. Update the 'driver' by navigating to 'have disk' and install the .inf hack file. Reboot and the '3dplay' logo ought to be visible on the NVCP now. When 3D is enabled, it will automaticly test it. You'll need to follow the prompts and complete the test for it to work.

I will test this tonight! (Thank you!)
Only see one issue ahead of this... which is that when I go to the Licenses area of the control panel, I'm told I already have a "system license" for 3DTV Play (a gift from Asus and Nvidia it seems), so in theory I'm already authorized and don't need to spend the $40. We'll see... /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

@ eno detah, another thing to take into consideration is that you can only play the games at 1280 x 720/60hz or 1920 x 1080/24hz max as hdmi wont support any more right now. I also read up on your laptop & tv, if you have the latest nvidia drivers installed 280.26 - 285.38(beta) you should be able to use 3dtv play. You dont need to load seperate 3d drivers, theyre packed into the normal driver sets now.

Once again to derail the conversation - just because it's convenient to post here /wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> I've noticed quite a few controller bugs with the latest 2.0 patch. Last night my 'Start' button stopped working on my 360 controller. The 'A' button also lags really bad in menus. I dunno how they could have buggered that up, but somehow they did.

No problems here after update. Nothing broken 3D Vision wise. IMO combat feels even better, and the arena mode is a great addition, so addictive!

What kinds of settings are you running the game at in 3D?
Personally I put everything on medium (except the Video memory size, which I set to extra-large) and the game still looks good, getting 40-50 (3D) FPS with that setup, it feels very smooth thanks in part to motion blur.

nVidia offers to buy the 3DVision software independently to be used with 3D TV sets. With that, it's not required to use the emitter to get a 3D signal on the HDMI output.

Really well done
I am just wondering if I should update to 2.0 since there are split opinions on the impact of this latest patch.
Cheers

Thanks again and more tonight when I can test.

This game is indeed, very wow.
