This game is $1 on steam, i bought it last night and played it about a hour. Its actually pretty good, its funny and the action is nonstop.
But for some reason 3D doesnt even activate with the game, which is a shame since honestly this game would be 10x better in 3D. With the camera angles it would just be a perfect match.
Anyone have any ideas on how to kick 3D on?
DX11 + Fake full screen = can't launch in 3D.
the store page says its dx9. http://store.steampowered.com/app/249680/ I tried to add it to a few random profiles with the nvidia inspector but nothing happened.
whats fake full screen mean?
Its 11. Steam makes up stuff. Says Windows 7 only but it doesnt list vista/xp which means no DX9/10.
Fake full screen is not- real full screen. If you hit the windows icon on keyboard while you play it will show your tool bar. And alt tab cycle will show.
Same issue was with Elder Scrolls Online and I had to tell people to switch to DX9 cause I knew DX11-3D doesnt render in fake full screen.
------------------
I can also tell because Tridef also doesnt support fake full screen-DX11.

If you haven't played X-Men Origins: Wolverine grab it from Amazon or somewhere.
DHR made a fix for it. http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2012/11/x-men-origins-wolverine.html
Yah, it's too bad Marlow doesn't play in 3D. I still enjoyed it, but the immersion was lacking without it.
I tried Launch options, profiles, etc with no luck. (steams launch options have always seemed hit and miss)

I saw this post in the Mars: War Log thread
out of curiosity. Try this without helix's fix.

Tell me if it loads game in 3d.
So I gave it a try, 3D works!
Looked good on my saved game. Give it a try.
Forgot about that possibility even though I am the one often pointing at it. I guess cause it only works sometimes.
Yes, that tool CAN force fake fullscreen games to full screen. Any issues with game?
---------------
Edit: That doesnt work for me but Changing game name/ using alternate profile [wow.exe / worldofwarcraft] does.

I just dropped in that d3dx file with nothing in the game folder and it launched in Stereographic mode. I also removed the lauch options I had in the Steam launch. The file was for 1280x720 so I changed it to 1920x1080.
;width=1280
;height=720
refresh_rate=60
full_screen=1
;force_stereo=1
There's no options for video setting except resolutions and fullscreen settings.
The cutscenes were kinda biorked, gameplay was alright after adjusting convergence. It would be nice to turn the shadows down or off. I didn't mess with it at all, perhaps using a different profile and some kind of ini/config edit would help. Also might try one of the shader sorters.
I've been using TriDef mostly on a Radeon rig. So I'm not real familiar with the tricks used by the community. Saving up for a GTX 880 atm, since Nvidia is showing somewhat of a renewed interest in 3D Vision.

I tried the Helix Debugger, but the red text overlay never appeared.
I found that if I go Marlow Briggs > System > xcom, there's a "visibility material XCOM File" that I can open in notepad. setting "visibility.layerallocation ShadowMeshAlpha" and "visibility.layerallocation ShadowMesh" to 0000 almost completely eliminated shadows. So anyone playing this game might want to try this. Be sure to save a copy first, for backup.
Marlow Briggs is now available on GeForce NOW

Game was really broken...but now you can say is 3D ready.
Really fun game to play.
