I have a new laptop with built in 3D, a 680M card, and a pair of 3D Vision 2 wireless glasses. I have tried multiple drivers, including the latest, and when I try to run the set-up wizard, I am always presented with the following options in the first step:
- USB IR Emitter and Glasses
- Wired Glasses
- Pro Hub and Glasses
- Discover Glasses
None of these options seem to fit nor to work. Should I be selecting Discover Glasses? I thought that those were only for the red and blue lensed set. (Incidentally, when I try that option the 3D doesnt work, but I wanted to confirm that I am least picking the right option.) Or am I seeing the wrong wizard based on some kind of hardware problem?
Thanks

Hey axabrax, welcome to nvidia 3D. First things first, has your laptop got an nvidia 3D emitter? If not (aka your 3D inbuilt emmiter is another propriety format) you will need to buy an nvidia emitter. As you've already got the glasses, you can just pick one up from ebay for not too much money.
If your screen has an nvidia 3D emitter, then you need to look for Nvidia 3D Vision in the 3D options in the driver settings. 3D discover is only the red and cyan effect for anaglyph glasses. If thats not there then like you suggest then maybe go over to your laptop makers website and look on the forums there as it will be a problem with your laptop.
The 3D drivers are included in all the latest nvidia drivers, so that shouldnt be the problem... But it will rule out a problem by clearing the drivers and re-installing them (clean install)
Hope this helps a little.
P.s. did the nvidia 3D glasses come with the laptop?

Hi there. Thanks for the response. The laptop has a built in emitter and the glasses came bundled with it. There'sn instructional video on how to set it up, and the wizard in that video looks nothing like the wizard Im seeing. Basically non of the options in the Wizard are applicable to my configuration. I think this implies a hardware problem as you mentioned. Thanks for confirming that those wizard options are NOT the ones Im supposed to be seeing!
