I'll get the game at a later date. Being that old, I don't think it will be broken, or maybe just a bit. Whoever plays it before I (or someone else) make a fix (if needed), test different "StereoTextureEnable" settings if the image is in 2D at first.

I have seen in the discussions on steam that it is good out of the box(ish) so might just be a case of a few tweaks here and there to get it 3d vision ready but apparently its locked at 30fps which means it will be pretty nasty to play i suspect

I tried the first Shenmue in S3D, and there's some graphic issues. It works quite well but some parts like the head of the hero is shown only in one eye, so it looks transparent in stereo 3D.
I think only Shenmue 2 works perfectly out of the box.
Has anyone found a good profile for the first Shenmue? There's some annoying things like left eye sees two Ryo's heads and right sees no head at all.
Try "StereoFlagsDX10 = 0x00005008" as a profile setting in "d3dx.ini", using 3Dmigoto. Or directly in the game profile with Nvidia Profile Inspector. That solves depth targets not being stereoized. But it sometimes can break shadows, depending on the game engine.
As I said almost 8 months ago, this game is in my plans, but lower priority than other games. I hope it reaches at least 50% off when I'm ready for it.

That did the trick! I did it with Profile Inspector. Thank You Masterotaku! Now only sky seems to be in wrong depth but this is now definitely playable and looks great. Shenmue 2 seems to work right out of box.
