Looking for a good 3d vision game to play!
  1 / 2
Hi everyone, i set up my 3d vision, stereoscopic 3d. And i have to say i really like this new technology. it gives me experience to really detach from the reality of sitting in my comfortable chair and escape into new worlds, it give me that complete immersion. kinda done all of my old games now and i am looking for a new game to play in 3d, any suggestions ? i heard trine 2 was really good in 3d. also keep in mind i use a 970 sli set up and unfortunately i can not get my sli to work with stereoscopic, believe me i tried for days i gave up. it is ok though because my friend wants my cards, and i am going to sell them to him soon for a new 1080. so i will only be using one 970 asus strix :(

The Trine games are great in 3D and the awesome part is that the developer supports 3D, they also have a new game out called Shadwen. Unfortunately, not all games work very well with 3D Vision. Fortunately, there are community patches for a lot of games that make the stereoscopic gaming experience excellent. So be sure to check out http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2013/10/game-list-automatically-updated.html

Not sure how familiar you are to 3D Vision and the fixes. You can start here with a list of games and look over the in depth information as it relates to 3D Vision. It takes a little while to understand many things but is well worth it to make the most. http://helixmod.blogspot.ca/2013/10/game-list-automatically-updated.html Remember to unlock the advance settings in the Nvidia control panel so you can adjust convergence and depth which can really make the big difference in immersion. You can get what is called a toyification effect for the RPG's and 3rd person games. There are so many amazing games in 3D as you can tell from the above link. Some games that come to mind for some real immersive gaming are the Dead Space series, Bioshock series, Alien Isolation, Neverwinter Nights series, the list goes on and on....lol...it will depend on your preferred genres. Trine 2 is excellent in 3D. Anyway, if 3D Vision is new to you take the time to learn from this forum and the helixmod blog to get the most out of it. You won't regret it.

Was about to suggest Trine too, all 3 looks awesome. Just recently I got Pinball FX2 and was surprised how good it looks. The dotmatrix panel can be annoying but you can make it smaller or disable it but I learned to use it at medium size. You can try it, it comes with one free table.

3D Vision must live! NVIDIA, don't let us down!

Yeah, I think the best advice is too just look at the fixed games list on the Helix bog and pick any game you like. They pretty much all have near flawless if not perfect 3d fixes. If you like action Rpg's Path of exile is really amazing in 3dvision and works out of the box without needing SLI. It turns a game that is not considered to have good graphics and criticized for its camera angle in 2d, into a pretty mind blowing experience in 3d with "toyification". (just set convergence so the mouse is just above your characters head.) As for "new" technology. I dont really think we can call it new at this point. Its actually considered legacy tech by Nvidia and it's the biggest travesty in gaming....

Man it is soo cool for me i wish other people could love it like i do. it just blows my mind that it is not that popular TT.

Check out the 3D Vision Steam curator, it highlights games that play well in 3D. Many need a community fix, the "read full review" button links to the fix if required. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/3dvisiongamers/curation

In my experience people who are indifferent to 3d in gaming have a colored view due to the atrocious and gimmicky support of it in movies. THEY.JUST.DON'T.KNOW... It really is a different ball game in games. The other scenario is the correct use of it is hidden in advance configuration menus in the driver you have to turn on. My cousin brought a kit after I raved about it and wondered why the hell I thought so much about it, until I gave him a crash course in the correct use of depth and convergence. Now he gets it ...

My GTX 880M card (from my laptop is actually NOT recommended for this game as it can't provide constant fluid 60FPS). So you can pretty much figure how hungry the engine is;) What you can do is set the resolution to 1280x720 and play with the resolution scale in-game until you get those nice Framerates. It will not look that good but it will give a good understanding of how it should work;) To get it working with all the awesome graphics it requires a top of the line card currently:(
