3D vision + PS3
Just looking for some confirmation really from some people who have tried it FIRST HAND, to see whether you can really get the glasses to work in perfect harmony with a ps3. The way people say they do it is by tricking the gpu to emit to the glasses using the 3D video player and then changing the screens AV input from DVI to HDMI(the ps3s input). So yeah just really want to know if there are any problems with doing that, as I am very much looking to buy a 3D monitor/ 3D vision kit, but would love to play the upcoming GT5 in 3D too. If not I guess its back to waiting till both can work with one system.

This doesnt work anymore. The method worked with Avatar 3D if you had a mitsubishi/Samsung DLP 3D TV before they implemented the HDMI 1.4 check. There isn't a single display on the market that will let you do this anymore. Sorry.

There is no possible way to get 3D vision glasses working on PS3 3D games anymore.

Thanks for the replies, looks like I'll be waiting till they can sort out a standard for these things, or someone comes a long and takes advantage of this huge gap in the market.

Does anyone know if the game still plays in 1080P in 3D mode? Just curious. BTW, I'm with you. I would like the Nvidia 3D support too. Hopefully Sony will add it eventually. Amazing and smooth graphics for such an old GPU... Anyone want's to race? I can be reached as Zmonkey_GTR... :)

The game plays in 720p in 3D i believe as that is the restrictions that HDMI 1.4a has for 60hz (1080p is 24hz) per eye. Hopefully you can trick the Nvidia 3D vision kit again when the new wave of monitors in 2011 come out with HDMI 1.4a as standard...
