Request for Viewsonic V3D241wm-LED to be supported by Nvidia 3D Vision
Hi all,
this is my first enrty on the 3d vision forum and I would like to request 3d vision support for the v3d241wm-led.
I have the Nvidia 3d vision kit and the monitor is 120Hz but it is not recognised in the 3d vision drivers.
So I would like to ask/beg (I don't mind grovelling /smile2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':))' /> nvidia to support the v3d241wm-led in the upcoming drivers.
If anyone else would like to join and ask for support for the v3d241wm-led then the more then that would be great.
Please, please please Nvidia be so kind and support the Viewsonic v3d241wm-led in upcoming 3d vision drivers

I'm sure they will soon enough, but I can't even find this monitor anywhere to buy? Where did you buy it from and for how much?

This monitor was supposed to be 3D Vision-ready when first announced, but later on it turned out to be the first one to support AMD's HD3D technology, so you should not expect it to get any support for 3D Vision. You should however still be able to use it with an Nvidia GPU and the monitor's bundled wired glasses, but iZ3D and not with the 3D Vision drivers...

Can't a 120hz be compatible with both nvidia & amd? I thought the only requirement was 120hz?

Hi jenson
I bought it from a uk shop called Lambdatek for about £297+delivery.
@bloody, love your blog by the way.
I know it supports HD3D with the supplied glass and I can use the supplied glasses with the included iz3d driver and my nvidia gpu.
But I previously purchased the Nvidia 3d Vision glasses and emitter and was hoping that one day Nvidia may also support the monitor as on paper it meets the 3d vision ready requirements.
So there should be no reason why they can't add the monitor to the 3d vision drivers.
It would be brilliant if I could get to use both solutions on one monitor as I have the components to do this, I just need Nvidia to add the v3d241wm-led to the 3d drivers.

I don't see why they wouldn't add the monitor if they've added other viewsonic monitors. You paid money for nvidia 3d vision so it's not like they didn't make money :)

I see it exactly the same way as you. I have bought Nvidia glasses and gpu so a little bit back from Nvidia would be great.

NVidia enables displays based on their EDID, so the requirement is on the supported list.
They do this at least partly to tune the shutter glasses timing to the display latency.
I believe they charge the display manufacturers for certification, but I've never had this confirmed.
