OK thanks, I'll take a look.
Pretty sure I got all those planar light reflection shaders though. Just to double check, you are running the latest version of the fix (0.99.21) off the HelixModBlog, right?

@bo3b - the first image above is not planar reflections I don't think, but I am guessing is the residual known "snapping" issue, whereby if you get close enough to the light/floor it will suddenly render correctly.

For the first picture, I'm not sure what's up there, here is a similar picture using your save game-

The problems here might just be part of the fix being an approximation, and not exact. In the main room with water on the floor, I do see the funny floating x shape reflection blob. For heavy water locations like this, it can get pretty far off if you use strong convergence.
Try moving your convergence down until the water reflection looks right for these areas. This is similar to the problem in the reactor room, and the only answer we have is to dial your convergence to the location where it looks right.
For example:

No, it works on DK2. I've played both. You have to set some flag in their .ini file to get it to work. You can play the full game in DK2.
I only played part way in DK2, because I thought our fix was more compelling. I'm playing on projector with 10' screen, so the immersion is already pretty high.
Also worth noting that the DK2 built-in version has effects disabled, and some broken effects like shadows that only show in one-eye. I found this to be particularly annoying and frustrating because I'd see something blink out of the corner of my eye, and freak out- when it was just a bad shadow flicking onto the whole wall.
I think your quality bar has to be pretty low to accept the DK2 experience, but everyone is different. Maybe you don't care or notice that sort of stuff.
Given that I think that our Alien fix experience is superior, that suggests you ought to try playing through on DK2 first, and see if it's acceptable. Then a second playthrough would be on 3D Vision for the high-quality version.
Alternate train of thought if you only expect to play once- play until you meet the Alien and the stakes are raised. Do it once on each device, as it's early in the game, then you can decide with experience from both.

Since a couple of people have seen it with too high convergence, I added a note to the Settings section of the blog page.
Convergence too high makes things up close separate too far, and give you eye strain as you try to fuse the two images.
Lower the convergence using Ctrl-F5. You must have Advanced Settings enabled in the Control Panel for the key to be active.
You can then save your preferred convergence with Ctrl-F7. If it doesn't seem to save, switch to the Alien:Colonial Marines profile which allows saving.

hey guys need some help
its been while since i played AI half through the game than i had to sell my gtx 970 but recently i bought new gtx 980ti strix im on the 353.06 driver.
my question is what do i need to do : follow the helix mod Ai instruction or does the this driver support CM so that i don't need to do anything.

"CM profile for Alien Isolation is built into the driver but I would download this
http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2014/10/alien-isolation-dx11.html
Install this patch where the exe is located. when the game boots press Ctrl-Alt-f11 to turn off compatibility mode.and now you have real 3D."
is this still case with driver 353.06?

[s]Since that total moron PureGaming bumped this thread with his pathetic spam, I thought I'd add an update here.[/s]
Edit: Not sure if PureGaming edited his post, or I was confused, but that no longer matches.
I updated the fix for Alien using the latest 3Dmigoto, and we now have an aiming override. So, if you want the cursor to go to depth when aiming, that's in the latest fix.
However, I also updated it to remove the crosshair altogether, because it's a bit of a cheat for a game like this, and wholly unnecessary. So, by default, the cursor has been disabled to make it more immersive. If you really want the cursor, it's easy to re-enable in the d3dx.ini.
