I have just about every major title and the only games that worked were NFS shift, BC2 and JC2. Every other game crashed. ... The bug with tri/quad sli and 3d vision is still very much alive. All dx9 titles were running at 20fps. And there was no performance increase with 3-way SLI in games that did not have the bug. Turning down image quality has no effect over fps.
Well in this case i would keep running my Matrox Triplehead2go DE adapter + my three GTX 480, ill move to Nvidia solution (im also interested in the 2D surround) only when (and if) there is no drop in the performance / stability i have now.
Guys I will be completely honest, if there isn't atleast a 100% improvement on these drivers by nvidia, 3d surround will be the biggest flop in the history of innovative technology.
That's the silliest opinion I've read all day. #1, these drivers were never meant to be for public consumption. You comparing them to anything doesn't make sense. #2, if you know anything about how the EyeFinity drivers developed 6-9 months after release you wouldn't be making that statement either.

It will get better with maturity. It's too soon to make any credible decision about anything based on drivers that are not even supposed to be out in the wild.

I'm just wondering if anyone has taken into consideration the fact that you are running on a 32 bit OS and you are therefore going to have major vram issues with 3 x 480's in SLi, hell, I can guarantee that you are going to have major vram issues with just two 480's in SLi....

....Hence the lower than desired GPU utilization and performance issues....?

Firstly I didn't compare the drivers. Secondly my opinion is based on my personal experience with this particular driver set.

I appreciate your optimism but unfortunately us long time 3d users have been waiting on promises by nvidia since day 1- And were still waiting.

And lastly, without running the risk of repeating myself, the experience of 3d surround is amazing but this driver set is utter garbage, AND require 100% improvement!!!!!

You might compare drivers then, as you have to re-do the core from the ground up to accomodate multi-display. You're unreasonable to think that the first driver you see is going to be ideal. 6 months from now all of this should be nothing but wasted angst.
