Call of Duty&71.89 Crosshairs Mismatch
Hello!

I am a new Stereo 3D user. I have a problem playing Call of Duty as the Lasersight and ingame crosshairs mismatch. When Stereo is activated, the ingame aim is biased to the left.

Anyone has got the same problem and found a solution to it ?

I have managed to disable the ingame crosshair through Call of Duty's configuration file but it's still very annoying when you aim down the sight and when you are using a sniper rifle.

All suggestions are welcome! Thanks!

I found the same thing with COD. Basically when you use the scope or the iron sights you need to aim between the two. Alot of times your eyes can fool you into thinking your only seeing one, because typically one of your eyes is more dominant than the other.

Ideally the game could be tweaked so that either your left or right eye would be looking down the sights, so you could close one eye and look. I don't know if this is possible via a console command? I know that it's possible to change the gun position with Doom 3 but I don't know about COD. It would only need a small nudge to the left or right.

Simply switch OFF the in-game crosshairs and use Nvidia's LaserSight. That's what it's for! To replace the non-3D crosshairs...

I had a good look at the consolse commands after my last post, Salk.. I'm sorry to say there is no command for changing the position of the ironsights on screen.

Tzeff. Do you use the stereo profile editor? It is found [url="http://www.gsoftware.se/stereo/"]here[/url].

With it you can (amongst other things) enable the lasersight for your games. It's alot easier and safer than going into the registry. You may also find a COD profile available for download on that site, which may have the lasersight enabled.

Sorry for my late reply.

I understand why "aiming down the sights" and sniping cause problems. It is because in real life, a soldier closes 1 eye when aiming down the sights or sniping. But in Call of Duty U R sniping through the scope with both eyes opened!!! In other words: U see stereo while sniping or aiming down the sights!

Solution:
During Call Of Duty you could switch off the 3D (for Nvidia that is [color="red"]CTRL+ T[/color]) when sniping. But it is not advised for when aiming down the sights. Or we must find a way to bind aiming down the sights or sniping TOGETHER with switching 3D OFF!!! /thumbup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':thumbup:' />

It's been a while since I played COD, but it should be possible to map the same key you use to toggle ironsights view with the stereo toggle.

I can't remember if the iron sights action key is a toggle or needs held down though, also that key cannot serve a dual purpose in game.

@Salk...Try this, to get 3D working for OpenGL Launch the game and enter it, just long enough to create a save point Create a text file and name it custom.cfg Paste this in it seta r_customwidth "2560" seta r_customheight "1440" seta r_mode "-1" seta com_maxfps "120" seta r_stereo "1" seta r_fullscreen "1" seta cg_stereoSep "2.6" (of course, adjust the resolution to what you need) now from the main menu, choose the option to load from a save To adjust convergence, edit the value in the config folder. You can edit it, in the game console, but keep in mind that the values in custom.cfg override any settings set via the in-game console when you re-start the game Also, you need to have "show file extensions" enabled, in Windows Note: game will likely crash at save points, I do not know of any solution. Note:this is ONLY for displays capable of 120Hz, it is REQUIRED for Quad Buffering in OpenGL for stereoscopic gameplay. I didn't want to continue posting in the other thread He can try this, since the wrapper from helifax is too time consuming and complicated for him. Plus, it's causing crashes with his GoG version. The interesting thing, is that he mentions a laser sight. That means that the game ran using directX back then, or there was such a thing as the rumored OpenGL Automatic. I just only installed the single player demo real quick to test my config file above, prior to posting it. Upon downloading, it stated that I would need directX 8 and even has the dx8 re-distributables included. But then ran in OpenGL.
