Deus Ex Human Revolution
  17 / 34
I can confirm that on a GTX 590 running Surround I get 17fps and 48% gpu utilization (both GPU). Without the wrapper I had 40-60fps depending on the scene. What is interesting and sux is the fact that Crossfire must be disabled in order to play in 3D so it seems the limitation is from the game. In menu I get only 25fps constant...

Edit: Bah!!! 3D Hud and flatscreen 3D.. Seriously??? Is this what AMD/ATI understands by 3D???? (and no SLI/CROSSFIRE)

Now a more interested thing would be: Rajkoderp do you thing you can create an more interesting wrapper:

- Don't use ATI way of making fake 3D.
- Load the game normally and using 3D Vision.
- Find the shaders that make all those weird artifacts in the left eye (that are out of sync) and prevent them from being displayed.

This way we won't have all those stupid effects, a clean picture, nice 3D effects and adjustable convergence!!!!

Do you think it is possible?

Best case: games that are not designed for S3D but offer excellent S3D "by accident" - with all the freedom to adjust depth and covergence. Worst case: games that are designed to be 3DVision or HD3D "ready" by developers that are not experienced S3D users and so lock depth and convergence on a low level. A level that looks almost like the 2D gameplay they are used to. Worst case because You know that You could have a great S3D experience - if the game would offer noticeable depth...

In Two Worlds 2 there was a way to overcome the limited S3D settings. If we could find a similar way to do that with DE:HR it would be "excellent". Are there any complaints (or tweaks!) from the HD3D owners?

the ATI way makes real 3d, it's not fake.
just because there's no pop out doesn't make it any less "real". The scene is rendered twice, with proper displacement in both eyes
there's no point in complaining that SLI doesn't work, because you knew that it only works on DRIVER SUPPORTED GAMES, so don't complain when it doesn't work on home made solutions that nvidia doesn't care about
and modifying shaders is something i won't do, sorry, because its just too big of a scope, is game specific, and i've fought with 3d vision automatic enough to hate it, don't want to fight it anymore while fixing SOMEONE ELSE's shaders for stereoscopic unprojection (which they already do properly in hd3d mode, just because you dont like the convergence settings i should try and hack around the engine ?)
complain to nixxes for offering depth-only 3d, not me, or maybe you can reverse engineer the game some, find where it defines the convergence setting, and hack it
do you forget that a LOT of 3d vision ready games came with locked convergence ? it's simply the developers choice
after all it's exactly what the ati/zalman users are getting

Rajkoderp, is there any way you can make the game think we have eyefinity so that triple screen users get centered hud? How it is now, the hud spans to outer screens.

Been following this thread a bit, gf has been bugging me to get this but I've told her "not til it works with 3D Vision."

Thanks to Helifax and rajkoderp and everyone else who has been trying to get 3D Vision working. Sounds like this game is at least playable now in 3D Vision, but still has a few issues. Just a quick summary of what I've gathered from the workarounds so far, please don't take this as a knock on your efforts, please correct me if I'm off:

Helifax workaround (rename .exe):

Does not work with Steam version without cracked .exe

Supports SLI with renamed .exe

Full benefit of Convergence controls, resulting in greater object depth, better 3D

Still has lighting/shadow issues.
rajkoderp's wrapper:

More faithful rendition of AMD's 3D solution.

Very flat 3D results due to unadjustable convergence settings similar to Crysis 2.

No SLI support, some performance problems compared to Helifax workaround.

Some soft shadow problems still, but less lighting/shadow problems than helifax's workaround?
While the work of those above is great for those waiting for 3D Vision support for this game, I find it pretty disheartening that Nvidia didn't just take Helifax's workaround and make it the official workaround for the time being until they worked something out with Eidos. All they would have to do is create a DE:HR profile, copy the LP2 or RE5 3D Vision flags and the LP2 SLI compatiblity flags and they'd have a better working fix than what they are currently offering. Nothing.

What I would like to see come of this if Nvidia is not able to stay on top of these profiles themselves, is more control over the 3D Vision profiles so we can make these changes ourselves. Honestly, something as simple as making a copy of 3D Vision profiles of existing games and assigning them a new .exe name for newly released games would allow the end-user so much more control over 3D Vision compatibility. Similar to SLI/AA flags, if we had control of all the various 3D Vision flags we could tweak them ourselves instead of having to rename .exes or wait for an official profile update from Nvidia.

chiz, you can do EXACTLY what you want with nvidia inspector (google it for link)
if you click the little icon next to your graphics card name, you can edit the stored nvidia profiles from the driverset
so you can go into deus ex human revolutions profile, remove dxhr.exe from the app list, and add it to some other title
or you can tweak the settings of the dxhr.exe profile (but 3d vision settings are undocumented and just show up as random things)

my wrapper makes the stereoscopy look exactly the same as it would on amd hd3d, if you set shadows to normal, and even with soft shadows, if nvidia changed their 3d vision heuristics for the game to NOT stereoize the 4096x3072 shadow depthstencilbuffer (or atleast tell me how to flag it for non-stereoization myself)
and the sli problems are because nvidia made the dxhr sli profile only in regards to it's mono mode, so it can't make sense of the operations that it's stereo mode does, and thus doesn't know how to split the workload between graphics cards (simply rendering the rendertargets in parallel would suffice)
about the convergence and max separation, well, that's something that the developer decided, and it would be exactly the same if they chose to partner with nvidia instead of ati, same as with crysis 2

hey rajkoderp, is that also for 3D Vision settings? Last time I looked into it, those 3D Vision profiles were still unexposed and kept separate from Nvidia profiles.txt. I'm pretty familiar with messing around with SLI/AA flags from Nhancer and SLI profile tool but I never bothered with Nvidia Inspector's profile editor because the SLI profile tool was easier for me. If I can copy 3D Vision profile settings from 1 profile to a new .exe that'd be great and worth checking out.

well those profiles it shows are related to SLI and 3d vision, so by moving exes around, you make different profiles apply to them, which includes 3d vision settings/hacks

@rajkoderp:
I tried to link the 3DVision profile for Aion with another game (singles2.exe). So I opened with nvidia inspector the profile for Aion, added singles2.exe to aion.exe and clicked "apply changes". I even restartet windows and checked if singles2.exe is still in the Aion-profile. Nethertheless when starting the game singles2.exe the game isn't recognized by 3DVision as "Aion" and the profile characteristics for Aion (S3D in windowed mode, etc.) don't work. Only by directly renaming singles2.exe to aion.exe the 3DVision profile for Aion is activated when I start the game. Did I make a mistake when changing the profile or is nvidia inspector not able to change the 3DVision profiles?
