3DTV! help with 3D
Im new here and I didnt know where to post this. Ive looked and found similar cases but not a specific answer Im looking for so I'll just start here. 2 years ago I bought the 3d vision kit for my pc and I set it up on my mitsubishi 73" C9 tv. I could play games in 3D at the 1080P@60HZ setting and it was SICK playing games like Jericho, crysis and Oblivion etc! So in the last year I got 2 gtx 580's and used the same setup with the 260 drivers then I got an 82" 738.

I had a few bumps with driver issues from like borderlands and stuff so I updated my drivers to the 280.26 set, and LO and BEHOLD my 3d vision became 3DTV PLAY, and I thought ok awesome I get use my tv glasses instead of the vision ones. So now with this new "upgrade" I can only play 1080P@24hz on my TV, and I must say the geniuses at nvidia must have thought "man this resolution reduction and horrible lag is AWESOME"(lotsa clappin, smilin, and high 5in right?)!!!!!

So my questions are 1: am I screwed because of this 1.4 compliant crap because plugging in the nvidia emitter in the back of my tv wont make a diffrence and 2: how do I get my 3D vision back to playing games at 1080P@60 because my only option in the control panel is 1080P@24hz or 720P. Yes there is a visual diffrence and Im sorry guys but there's just no going back from 1080P@60.

Why do I care so much about 1080p, because you can see more surface area of the game which is a big deal in FPS's for me, and with all resolution settings maxed out it makes a game more amazing. 720P cuts off so much of the environment and it feels like your too close and you just want to zoom out. Isnt that why we pay so much money to build elaborate expensive PC's? Come on nvidia did you not see this coming? Is this just another sign that PC gaming is going to be a port module? I guess the 3DTV market for pc users is just soooooo huge they totally overlooked the FREAKING BIGGEST 3DTVS OUT THERE! Im really sorry for being such a jerk about this, but it just blows my mind that something older worked better than something newer.

I keep reading that there is not a tv to support this EARTHSHATTERING RESOLUTION, but 3d vision worked just fine. Im really confused and would like some input to clear this up. Oh by the way I have 2 cables. One is a generic Dvi to HDMI cable on my pc thats like 2 years old and an hdmi cable thats like 1.3b (ancient) on my ps3 rated at 10GPS and my 3D Bluray stuff plays just fine on both pc and PS3 without this "new" 1.4a standard. Am I missing something here or should'nt the older HDMI cables not be working at all? I know the only diffrence in the new 1.4 is that it will support ethernet connectivity, so whats all the BS about needing a newer HDMI version when the 1.3 stuff works just fine?

Which connection you used in frist place to make 3dvision work at 1080p/60hz? It was HDMI?

i hear that alot of people here are upset about the lack of side by side or checker boarding support in the new 3DTV Play software. It's what is keeping me from buying 3D vision myself. I may be wrong but i think your best bet is to uninstall all NVIDIA Drives and reinstall your old ones until the people at Nvidia wise up & support the aforementioned video modes.

I would but then certain games screw up because of other issues with older drivers.:( why cant nvidia just give us 3DTV users the option to bypass this 3DTV play and use the tv like a monitor like we have in the past? My tv still supports Checkerboard, and I can do side by side, top and bottom, and there's also an automatic feature but I usually choose checkerboard. That seems like an nvidia issue to me bcause my tv still supports the format it used 2 years ago. The 1.4 standard is just an excuse and should not be that crippling

Try the following as per the instructions, including the driver and see if it works

http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=191819&hl=rollermod&st=0

and then try doing it again with the driver you want to use.
