Avatar JPS Screenshots The best game to showcase 3D Vision!
Here are a few Avatar 3D screenshots. I have been doing stereoscopic gaming since the early E-Dimensional days and this game is, by far, the best 3D showcase. If I was playing this in standard 2-D I would rate the game only average but the 3-D makes it a joy to play. Even though the game runs almost 50% faster with DX9 I chose to run it in DX10 since I upgraded to Fermi cards. I left FRAPS up when I took the shots to show what frame rates I am getting but I have yet to see it become unplayable in the least. If Nvidia wanted to showcase 3D Vision, they would have this game running at their kiosks.

Wooow ! WAAAAAYYYY to high separation in these shots. They're barely watchable.
Avatar has been tuned by Ubisoft to use a high amount of convergence, this means that separation needs to be lowered to be easy to watch.
Please don't ever show these shots to 3D-noobs, they'll get instant headaches and get a very bad image of 3D vision.
I was wondering if it was just me. I certainly couldn't play the game with that amount of separation. Game looks pretty cool, though.

I agree the game looks amazing in 3D (the graphics are very good overall), but if Nvidia really wanted to use this to showcase 3D Vision I'd hope they fixed their DX10 SLI 3DV implementation first. 3D Vision SLI works in DX9, but performance is much worst than DX10 comparatively so that even though DX10 SLI doesn't work (both GPUs use only ~40-50% max), performance is still similar to DX9 SLI.
Also to add on what others are saying, the separation of your main character is too much as others stated. What you want to do is enable the advanced keyboard settings in the NVCP, then play with the Convergence setttings (Ctrl F5 and Ctrl F6). You'll want to hold Ctrl F5 to bring the near-field images closer together to the point your character avatar becomes a single image without any eye strain or need to focus directly on the avatar to make it seem as a single object. Any objects between the avatar and you may still seem too far split, so you can keep holding F5 for a bit more, but if you go too far, the objects will begin to split again in the other direction.
Convergence is probably the most important setting besides the Depth setting on the USB receiver, but Depth is really useless without tweaking Convergence settings. If anything, using Depth by itself can make the 3D Vision experience worst, but you really need to turn Depth up to really give that "Wow!" factor with 3D Vision, I prefer ~50% Depth. Worst part about the Convergence settings is that they're hidden/inactive by default, but also they aren't retained/remembered between gaming sessions. They even reset if you simply alt-tab and break the full-screen stereo 3D mode. Hopefully improvements are made to this important feature in the future.

Yeah, the separation is a bit high but I kinda went overboard for the shots maybe /teehee.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':teehee:' /> I was one of the first generation 3D gamers so I think my eyeballs have evolved over the years :P
I always set up my convergence in games by removing my glasses and either having the third person character in the game appears as a single image or, if it is a first person game like Oblivion, making a single image of the weapons drawn.
