So earlier today I was looking for some racing games to buy to try out in 3d and ironically Steam's weekend sale came up saying the codemasters racing pack was on sale for $17.50. This includes Dirt, Dirt 2, Fuel, Grid, and ToCA Race Driver 3. So my question is which one of these games are best in 3d/best gameplay. They are on sale individually as well so I might just buy one or two of them.

Thanks for this post, just picked up Dirt 2, as I already own TOCA 3 and Grid.
Grid didn't work too well for me in 3D, but I think it could be improved with some tweaking, to be honest it looks awesome in 2D and still gives modern PC's a run for their money. TOCA 3 is the next game I will try, I loved it in 2D, but haven't yet had chance to test it in 3D, I'll leave word of my findings either here.. Agree with redman, NFS Shift is so far the best of any type of game I've played in 3D
Thanks again.. £7.49 for Dirt 2, what a bargain :).

The 3D effects for Burnout Paradise are awesome, probably better than Shift actually, unfortunately if you like racing games where it's actually possible to go round a corner.. This probably isn't for you.
What I mean is, great looks, horribly arcadey/consoley engine.

While true, its still a fun game. It's possible to like rFactor and Mario Kart at the same time, so not every game has to be super realistic.

Is there a way of fixing the glow effect around the tail lights? If I have any convergence at all they go out of sync with the car, forcing me to play with no convergence what-so-ever. A bit gutting really. I had a similar problem with GTA:SA but someone showed me how to remove the 'coronas' making GTA:SA enjoyable again.

That's true.. Maybe I was a bit harsh.
Sorry AndySonOfBob, not sure on a fix for that , have you tried tinkering in the NVCP ?

I'm not sure NVCP will fix this issue, but you can tweak your graphics settings in there, and some lighting effects can be altered. Also turn things like bloom and motion blur off in the in game menus.. It's a long shot but it might help.

Well I got burnout paradise and GRID and both are fun but especially burnout. The 3d looks very good in both games, I don't get why burnout isn't classified as excellent.

Grid was fun, but NFS Shift is way better. Therefore I would highly recommend Dirt 2 if you only get one of them.
