Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor - Any hope?
Title says it all. The game comes out next week and judging from all the information and the numerous trailers we already got it seems that this one will not disappoint. What do you think? Any hope for 3D vision compatibility?

It's running on the Lithtech engine, which has produced fixable games in the past (Fear 1+2), but I don't believe any games on it have been 3d vision ready out of the box. I've preordered this one, but stored it in my inventory as a gift. If the reviews say it's good, I'll give it a look. If they don't, I'll try and sell it off.

To clarify, when I say take a look I mean to see how broken it is. I'm not qualified to fix a game like this. One thing that's concerning me is that apparently it requires 6gb of vram for ultra textures. This could perform like a dog on PC. Of course Airion, no one is saying you do need it. The same goes for low detail right? The point is, 6GB of VRAM is a lot.

Oh, I'm done with low detail. That's why I upgraded to a 4GB VRAM GTX 970. Top of the line! (biased!) Seriously though, I suspect the difference between high and ultra textures in the game will be shown to be negligible. I'm eager to see an analysis one way or the other though.

We'll wait and see but the 6gb VRAM is totally un-realistic IMO. I can't see any game/engine that would require that much amount of VRAM. A whole game (containing all the textures used in rendering...possibly). If it does require 6GB VRAM that just lazy developing.... (since you can load /unload textures in VRAM on "the fly")... 2 More days and we will see I guess;))

Well my 970 SLI are already outdated... The funny thing is that it says -The recommendations are only valid at 1080P resolution. Like if your playing at 1440P / 4k. VRAM requirement is higher... to the point where the video cards literally don't exist. I have no problem if game was "future-proofing" by building a setting almost no can afford now so you can replay later like Witcher 2's uber setting.... but something tells me its just optimization issues and trying to enforce users to get extremely powerful cards to run these high settings. ------------------- Its kind of funny that developers think there is no money in optimizing for PC.
