edit: whoops rewrote below.
first of all thanks a lot for the fix.
my only issue with it is some textures seem to be washed-up!? (like a motion blur filter or something)
is it just me or does anyone else have this problem
also i couldnt remove the profile from nvidia inspector as there was none for castlevania (driver 320.49)
but when i start the game it says its aion so i guess i did it right.

yay! thanks a lot - works perfect now!!
again a huge thanks to all of you ;)
@eqzitara thanks for the advice but unfortunately this isn't working for me either. Here is exactly what I did:
1) Removed all Sweetfx-files from Castlevania bin-folder and main folder
2) Removed all "old" Helix-fix-files from bin-folder
3) Downloaded the helix-fix from your link and installed it into the main Castlevania-folder
4) Put those three sweetFX-files (Injector.ini, d3d9_sfx.dll, dxgi.dll) into the bin-folder
5) Put the remaining sweetFX files into the main-folder
6) Added the proxy-lib line in DX9settings.ini just as usual
7) Launched Helix-launcher first
8) Tried to launch the game (with active Helix-launcher) but nothing happened
I then tried the same procedure with all sweetFX-files in the main folder...again nothing happens. The game doesn't launch!
Any idea?

Im sorry. Im an idiot. I wasnt thinking.
Install sweetfx [DO NOT RENAME D3D9.DLL]
Install helixmod hook file
DO NOT ADD THE PROXYLIB LINE
Launch helixmod launcher.
Launch game.
Thanks again eqzitara. What would I do without your highly appreciated help. Unfortunately I am not at home right now but will test this as soon as I get home. If I got you right I should install sweetfx just as the sfx-author said with those three sfx-files in the bin-folder while the rest of the sfx-files is located in the main folder. Then I should install the helix fix you mentioned above in the main folder. Finally I should launch helix launcher just before launching the game.

Delete your d3d9.dll/dx9settings you currently have installed.
Install sweet fx
Make sure it works without fix
install that hook version.
Launch hook version. Should be good to go.
Just followed the steps and now everything seems to run just fine. SweetFX is running fine and also Helix-fix via hook mode seems to be working.
Just one remaining issue. When I try to increase depth via key-shortcuts weird things happen. The depth-level literally jumps some instances to a specific point. Trying to change convergence via shortcut keys has a similar effect. I can't change the convergence smoothly. When trying to save my settings with the designated shortcut key it just jumps back to some kind of default depth/convergence setting. Could it be that issue has something to do with the latest drivers (326.80) that I am currently running? Or could it be changing depth and convergence interferes with some kind of Helix preset depth/convergence settings?

@lohan: I can't get it to work with helix fix. I put the sweetfx files where they need to be and start the game and sweetfx works perfectly. So, that at least tells me that I have the sweetfx files installed within the correct C:LoS folders. I then insert the helix files that utilizes the helix launcher exe. I click the helix launcher which brings up the separate window, then start the game and the sweetfx works fine but it seems like the helix fix is not working at all. The pre-set buttons 1 and 2 do not work, the games 3D looks real bad and broken like before when there was not a helix fix available yet for the game.
Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong??? Any help appreciated.
edited to add: I'm using 320.14 driver.
Ok, after further testing, I finally get helix fix (one with the helix launcher) and sweetfx to work together. Yes, the helix buttons 1 and 2 presets work as well and if I want to change the convergence and/or depth those work as well. The only one problem though, at least for me, is that it only works in windowed mode. When I go to fullscreen mode, everytime the game does a black screen and just hangs. I have to ctrl/alt delete to get out of the game. I check the log file for sweetfx and it says reloading and resetting shaders over and over and over. If I stay in windowed mode the game works perfectly with sweetfx and helix fix.

Sorry ddorpm for the delay but I was busy yesterday and read your question just a minute ago. I also was not sure if the helix-fix really was in effect when playing but since the 3D worked just fine (apart from the depth/convergence modifying issue) I guess it was. I'll have to try those preset buttons today to make sure that helix-fix really works. Since I never tried the game without helix-fix I can't tell how 3D is looking without helix-fix but judging from the comments here one sould instantly see that the game is broken somehow in 3D without the fix. Since that is definitely not the case I think the fix is working. But as I said I will try helix-preset buttons today to make sure everything is working.
There is another little issue I didn't mention above yet. Sometimes when the book is open I witness some flickering.....

I got to the eighth chapter in this game until i finally gave up. The game is really good at the beginning, but since the 7-8th chapter, it keeps throwing stupid puzzles over and over, probably to make the game last longer, almost every 5 minutes, and it gets really annoying, and some of this puzzles expect you to use your powers in ways they are never suggested to be used like that, so there's an infinite trial and error here. Since may of those puzzles require powers, you're constantly going back to energy fountains to charge them, which is really annoying.
Combat is also not that good, almost any mob can interrupt your combos, so air combos are almost useless for this, and there at times when the screen is full of them, making the combat really annoying. Also at this point the game gets the bad habit of throwing bad guys over and over until you do something, cover a hole and things like that, something I hate.
Also as platforming gets tougher, jumping sections get really bad, since jumping in this game is not fixed ala uncharted, so jumping can get really hard on tougher sections.
The story is interesting however, so I'm watching the final part on youtube to see how it ends, but really the game get's a lot worse the further you get into it, just so you know.

@lohan: Thanks for the reply. Yeah, you would know real quick if helix fix wasn't working, the 3d is badly broken. Like I said, I get the sweetfx and helix fix working fine together in windowed mode. But when I go to fullscreen the game is a black screen, hangs and the sweetfx log says it trying to load and reload the shaders over and over. Weird, oh well, whatever no big deal. I can play the game fine without sweetfx.
@birthright: I'm only up to chapter 3 so far but yeah, the platforming is pretty bad and can imagine as you mentioned it's really going to get more difficult in the later tougher sections.

Thanks for that. I was actually woried that this game might be like this. Will play it for a while tho. Anyway hope you`ve played Darksiders II it is a lot better when it comes to fight and exploration. Also building up your character is far more influential. Probably you know what i am talking about.
