for 3D Vision?

Can you play in 3D Vision using the monitors native resolution or do you have to use 1920x1080 to get proper Hz for it to work? Is this still the best 3D Vision monitor or did something else come out recently that i've missed? Thanks

Asus PG278QR supports 2560x1440 @ 120hz in stereo 3D mode. There is a curved version of this monitor (ASUS ROG Swift PG27VQ). Someone here said that it's even better than PG278QR in terms of ghosting. Seems like there isn't anything better on the market so far.

All I can say is the ASUS QR monitor was worse than my BenQ and could not live with that.
There is a curved version of this monitor (ASUS ROG Swift PG27VQ).
All I can say is the ASUS QR monitor was worse than my BenQ and could not live with that.
I recently upgraded from a BenQ XL2420TX to an Asus PG278QR. Before that I had tried a Dell S2716DG. I read they were very similar panels, so I figured for the $$$ I'd save on the Dell it was the better buy. Well, I went from very little ghosting on my BenQ to very noticeable ghosting on the Dell with a heaping side order of pixel inversion. I liked the resolution increase, but I was very torn over the tradeoff in additional artifacts and hassle (in order to reduce ghosting would have to warm up the monitor, and have specific settings, etc) and in the end I decided to try the Asus and if it didn't work out then I'd stick with my BenQ. I was skeptical over the Asus being an improvement since I read they used the same panels, and the Asus would run me quite a bit more $$$, but it turns out the Asus was a major improvement. Ghosting is minor, close to if not the same as on my BenQ and no noticeable pixel inversion, so for the most part it was a straight up upgrade rather than a sidegrade due to tradeoffs. tl;dr: Asus PG278QR is great for 3DVision, definitely an overall improvement from my BenQ, and probably the best monitor on the market today.

I had the same experience as DJ-RK, but when I bought the Dell, the Asus PG278QR still didn't exist until a few months later. My first 3D monitor was a BenQ XL2411Z. So far, we know both the PG278QR and PG27VQ are better than the PG278Q. But we don't know how they compare between each other.

Since the original question doesn't appear to be answered. Yes run it native, it works fine as long as you have the graphics power. You are better off with a 1080p monitor if you are going to drop the resolution cause it looks very blurry out of it's native res.

Another QR owner here...its a great monitor I only get really bad ghosting issues in GTAV during the day at the sky. Other games barely noticable

I had a chance to test PG278Q, PG278QR and Dell S2716DG - all of them are TERRIBLE in terms of crosstalk comparing to XL2420TX. I wish someone (XL2420 owner) could test PG27VQ, just to make sure it is not similar (or equal) to PG278QR

Honestly 27inch 1440p is the sweet spot for 3D at this point imo. I have a cockpit so I am so close to the monitor the size isn't a factor. GTAV is a great example of where this monitor fails in terms of crosstalk. (around trevors house in the day time is a good example) It's particularity high contrast color schemes that cause the crosstalk. Most games it's barely noticeable though if not nonexistent.

i already have a 720p projector with native 3D vision support.. good thing is that i have 65" screen which obviously beats the crap out of 27" for size.. bad thing; the screen in the bedroom is taking up a bit of valuable space + hard to place the projector and 720p might be a bit on the low side (though DLP in 720p looks good actually). kind of a waste with a 1080ti to have to run 720p heh I guess the good part about the monitor is that i would notice better response though, right? and the higher resolution would of course be noticeable. not sure what i would think about moving to 27", my current screen is a ultra wide 34".. (this new screen would likely be a complement to it).
