3d monitor & vision choice
Hi, i was going to purchase a 3D monitor and 3D vision tomorrow but i am still unsure on which to go for. I have a budget of £400 to get both the monitor and 3D vision.

I had in mind the - 23" Asus VG236H & Nvidia 3D vision bundle which i have seen for £370

But i would really appreciate other peoples opinions before i go ahead and purchase tomorrow.

Thanks.

I've got the Acer GD245HQ and that's worked well over the last few months, not heard too much about the Asus, the best advice I can give you is not to expect too much, even 3D ready games will have ghosting [more if you increase the depth [3D effect]]. Also just check the games you like playing are supported by nVidia 3D before you purchase. You will most likely encounter problems/glitches/issues while using 3D, most of us do, the good news is the guys around the forum are a helpful bunch and know their stuff :).

If you like glaring and mirroring screens then the Asus could be your choice.
If not, the the LG W2363D, the Acer GD245HQ or the Alienware AW2310 are anti-glaring displays.

As Obone said there are some issues you have to deal with.
There are technical issues like some High-Contrast-Ghosting(dark objects on light backgrounds) or Top/Bottom-Ghosting.
I guess that Top/Bottom ghosting is hardware-depending too(Motherboard, chipset, how fast the signals are transfered to the IR-Emitter) as its very low on my rig(about 1-2cm at Top and Bottom). I have seen screenshots here, that are much worse(1/3 of the screen ghosts).

Some games need shadows disabled(GTA4,GRID) or need to be started in DX9 mode(Crysis) or postprocessing(Bloom, Depth of Field, Motion Blur) needs to be deactivated(Crysis,HL2,Portal,WRC2010).
As I don't like most of postprocessing effects(Depth of field, Motion Blur - should be forbidden) its no problem for me.
Portal, TR Underworld or GTA4 for example are an outstanding experience in Stereo3D.
