Hi
I a get a USB Blueray player will I be able to play movies like Avatar in 3D on my computer, using the nVidia 3D movie player.
I have a fast computer running a GTX 680 video card and 32 GB of ram.
Mike
Honestly haven't tried, but I don't see why not.

BossDweebe is in his second childhood, or would be if he'd ever left the first.
Hi Boss
Thanks for the information.
That pretty much covers everything.
I have another question, I create 3D stereo material using Poser and some other 3D software.
Is there a file format that I can save video into that combines the images into one file as MPO does for still images.
I use Stereo Photomaker to create the MPO files from 2 images.
If would be nice to be able to just have a single file for each video instead of a right and a left.
Mike
No idea mate. The forums for the relevant software would probably be the best place for that information.
Sounds like a fun thing your doing though.
Cheers - BD
Hi
I'll look into it further, there must be a way, after all bluray doesn't use left right files to display.
If you want to see one of my short 3D videos in it's flat mode here's a link to one on Vimeo.

Did you have a Yank stand in for the dialogue at the end of the Queens Christmas greeting or....
Lucy's cameraman has a bit of trouble focusing, eh ! Dirty old scallywag....
Yeah! what is Hell like ? Do you get Fries with it... or corn ? ;D
Hi
Thanks for checking them out.
All of the speech is computer generated with the exception of the voice saying "I'm all set, go ahead" in the Lucy about Sailing video.
That's my voice.
This all started with Lucy's voice, it's generated using Text Aloud software and the Lucy voice from Acapela.
I use it for all my computer sounds, i.e. when I empty the recycle bin she says, "Enough of this Trash!", for exclamation she say OH! etc.
The video is generated in 3D so I can make a stereo version just by recording the same video twice with the camera moved about 4" to the side for the second eye.
I haven't done a lot with the 3D versions because I don't have anyone who can view them except at my house. One of my friends just got 3D Vision so now I can send them to him.
I've figured out a way to edit the clips in Adobe Premiere Elements that will automatically replace all the left eye clips with the right eye clips incorporating any editing that has been done.
They are all generated in Full HD but they lose a lot when posted online.
I'd like to figure out a format that I could convert the left right files to, that would create a single file that can be played in nVidia Movie Player.
I'll have to do more research maybe I can create them as stereo Blue Ray files some how.

Hello, I have exactly what you are asking about, the Drive you have needs to support 3D Playback, also your Main Display should also be 3D Vision enabled. 3D Playback over usb might not be the best way to go. I use Cyberlink Power DVD 13 to playback 3D Content and it works beautifully. Nero Burning Suite also has 3D Support. I hope this helps out. I love my 3D Vision and seeing Avengers 3D is amazing.
