3D Fix Manager - Application for installing 3D Vision Fixes + Hotkey Editing Support
48 / 60
Hi rustyk21!
Thx for reporting this bug. The crash happened for Unity engine games only - when startup cache was used and the game was uninstalled / moved to another location then. Just fixed it by adding a simple check if the game exe is still at the old place before trying to access it.
Version 1.6 of 3D Fix Manager is nearly completed btw - still have to do more testing and write English translations >.<. The update will contain a feature which is also very useful for playing in 2D mode. You'll see very soon :)

Another ace move Paul, I wonder if 3dfm will become the next goto for launching 2d games as well :-)
I would expect you've thought along similar lines, especially since 3dmigoto is now being used for all sorts of things for 2d gamers now that DSS has added all the extra functionality.
Anyway, well done you, again! :-)

Thx! I got the idea when trying the new Scanline Sync feature of RTSS. Especially on my Optoma UHD 40 projector this is a huge benefit for 4k @ 60hz 2d gaming. Before I always used vsync on for 4k and the input lag was pretty bad. But when disabling vsync I didn't like the tearing effect. So none of those solutions was perfect. Scanline Sync combines the best of both worlds and it doesn't need double fps like fast sync. Input lag is very low and tearing is gone. You can even play shooters like Battlefield competetive now in 4k HDR 60hz.
With this update I wanted to make configuration of Scanline Sync a little bit easier by automatically hiding the tearline and disabling vsync in driver profile as well as adding control on which display to use it. For example when using a G-Sync monitor you definitely don't need Scanline Sync for 2D gaming.
Unfortunately for 3D mode it only works for some games. It's trial & error. You have to find out where it works. INSIDE and State of Mind work perfect with it for example.

fantastic app for 3d game fixes. thank you.
I just got the Elite dangerous from oculus store for my rift but also want to play it with my 3d vision setup, the app does not see ED installed, how do I apply the fix using your app ? I put the fix manually in where the exe is but no go. thanks.

I never tried to detect Oculus games because I thought they can be run in VR mode only. Does Elite Dangerous run in 2D / 3D Vision mode on Oculus store at all?
But concerning detection I investigated this now. And the result is: Oculus store does not leave any Windows registry entries. So even in Windows Control Panel Oculus games are not listed. Then I checked why Oculus games can't be recognized via search paths in 3DFM and the result was that Oculus creates very weird folder names. I did not specifically check Elite Dangerous but all my other Oculus games have weird folder names. For example: "twisted-pixel-games-wilson-s-heart" or "ready-at-dawn-lone-echo". It seems the folder name always consists of the publisher and the name of the game. I guess it's "frontier-developments-elite-dangerous"? Just as a conclusion? :D. Sorry but currently I don't plan to optimize detection of games to too compliacted folder names created by oculus store. They should have watched how Steam, Origin, Uplay, Blizzard Lancher, GOG and all other available plattforms do it - easy and clear! Just the name of the game.
You have to edit the fix profile manually in order that the game is detected. Either set a "Custom Root / Game path" or edit the "Install Folder Name" in fix profile. For editing the fix profile double click on the game in the list.

yep, it's "frontier-developments-plc-elite-dangerous". The 2d version seems to work ok under oculus home but not 3d vision.
I understand and np, i'll try to fix it manually at other time, right now it works in vr really good so i can live without 3d vision version for it. thank you.

Paul,
Can you tell me how to force enabling 3D in checkerboard mode from 3DFM? I'd like to force TaB for 3Dmigoto games without having to go into NVCP.
@Paul
that's crazy how 3DFix manager improves & improves ^^ Every day I think about i have to continue translate ENG > FR . i don't forget it ! i'm working a lot in real life in order to gain money but i'm exhausted tonight, i haven't even the 'courage' to play games atm :) . i stay tuned. i'll do it, trust me :)

Go to tab "Settings" -> sub-tab "Display Profiles". In projector profile (I think you mean your UHD51A?) tick the option "3D display type". In the list choose "Checkerboard (Active 3D)". Please tell me if this works for you. I don't have a 3DTV or checkerboard mode - I couldn't test this in practice yet!
If you generally prefer to play in TaB because it's the best format for your display then I also recommend to enable "Preferred 3D format" and set it to "Top and bottom". It's located directly under the other option. What it does is setting 3dmigoto automatically to Top and bottom when launching games via 3DFM. For DirectX 9 (helixmod fixed) games TaB isn't available unfortunately.
You should also link your display device to the display profile. You do this by ticking "Link profile to display" and then from the list choose the name of your display device.

Hehe thx. Don't make yourself crazy about the translations. Work can really exhaust and burn people out. Sometimes it seems we only live to work and not work to live. So take care of yourself :).

Thanks, Paul!
That makes sense. I just didn't have all of the pieces of the puzzle assembled correctly. I'll give that a shot later today.
Also -- I don't know if this is the appropriate venue for a feature request, but is it possible to filter the game list by fix type?
This is a lazy man's burden, but when I'm testing or managing 3D resolutions manually, I have to click on each title to check it's fix type (DX9, 3Dmigoto DX11, etc) to find an appropriate game. I'd love to just be able to sort or filter the list for only 3Dmigoto enabled games if that's what I'm testing. I have several hundred 3D capable titles at this point and it would save a bit of time when validating or fixing games.
BTW - Thanks for the caching functionality! 3DFM starts up lightning quick now.

Yes, should be relatively easy possible. I use a collectionView for filtering and sorting the games - there I can add more filter criteria. The info if a game is 3dmigoto / helixmod or openGL already exists in the fix profiles. I'll try to add your feature request.

I understand and np, i'll try to fix it manually at other time, right now it works in vr really good so i can live without 3d vision version for it. thank you.

Can you tell me how to force enabling 3D in checkerboard mode from 3DFM? I'd like to force TaB for 3Dmigoto games without having to go into NVCP.

I tried this but was unsuccessful. Stereoscopic 3D and '3DTV play' get enabled, but 'HDMI Checkerboard' fails to be selected.
When enabling stereoscopic 3D manually in NVCP there is always a slight delay (maybe 1-3 seconds) before the box is ticked and I'm then able to select '3DTV play' or 'HDMI Checkerboard' from the drop down. I wonder if the programmatic switching of modes is too fast?

Yes, should be relatively easy possible. I use a collectionView for filtering and sorting the games - there I can add more filter criteria. The info if a game is 3dmigoto / helixmod or openGL already exists in the fix profiles. I'll try to add your feature request.
Thx for your feedback! Could please do the following steps and tell me what you see?

Happy to. I'm assuming the decimal value is good enough:
