Lol, hopefully he finishes the game before he comes back here and learns hes using substandard 3D, on the other hand, if he likes that, he has a lot to look forward to.

I hope he comes back at all after that welcoming comitee. Sheesh. Tough crowd. I liked Crysis 2 in 3D on my PS3! And Silent Hill: Downpour! And I'd probably like Crysis 3 too ... but then again I'm on a big screen so it doesn't look so bad. I'd rather fake 3D than no 3D at all but that's just me.

I have to say looking at Crysis's 2/3 features while the game is bland, I kind of doubt we had a chance at real 3D so at least they gave option. No one puts that much work into a game for free.

@FrankBob6677 check out the convergance stuff and for your own sanity check out a few of the top end 3D games like Trine 2, metro, witcher 2. they are great baseline 3D games and really show what all this "real depth" stuff is.
[/quote]
I will definitely look in to those titles. I have tried Metro with 3D vision and it was a nice one. Crysis 3 was one of the first games I had tried in 3D. I have never had any problems with it. I liked the 3D effects of the environment, such as weather and what not. Depth was not to off from what I could tell. I have actually been playing Hawken, in 3d, and absolutely love it. And to francomg, I have played Dead Space 3 in 3D. If you want my honest opinion, I thought all of the lighting was displayed at an incorrect depth no matter how adjusted. So as for false statements learn to address your own before calling someone out...

I'm pretty sure you haven't used helix fix when you played Dead Space 3, so that's why you had the lighting problems you've described. When I posted here in this very thread I am pretty sure I have said, Dead Space 3 (Helix fix) looks incredible in 3D. Try Helix fix and you'll see a true perfect Dead Space 3 in 3D.
What you said about Crysis 3 3D is a false statement. I wasn't trying to pick on you, but anyone here knows that Crysis 3 3D is far away from being intense and realistic. That doesn't mean you can't like it, but it's not realistic at all, that's why we call it Fake 3D, and it's fake all the way not because we don't like it, just google it and you'll know. That's why there's no perfomance hit wise like other 3D games. It's a 3D type for consoles, not PCs.
No problem budy, you're new at 3D like I was someday. We're all learning things here everyday, don't take my it personal really. I've made false statements here in this very forum many times, what's the big deal??? Who cares???
Eqzitara, I know you're expert when it comes to 3D, but I found really strange that you find Max Payne 3 mediocre in 3D, I really do. You may not find it one of the best 3D titles, but mediocre, really?????? It's 3D ready game and it has very little flaws I believe and it does look amazing in 3D with the right depth and convergence.

3D ready as far as issues.
But it offers very little as far as 3D. If someone told me there favorite 3d game was Trine2 or even Rayman Origins I could see it because of layered aspect. If said a game like farcry 3/skyrim/ mirrors edge/etc [First person] I could see it from immersion persepective. If someone said Witcher 2/Mass effect series I could see it because of cinematic aspect. Hell if someone told me Alice Madness returns I wouldnt bat an eyelash, even though gameplay is terrible.
Max Payne 3 is a game I keep seeing in top 5 lists. Dont get me wrong, hands down should play in 3D over 2D. I just find offers very little in my opinion. Camera pulled back and game is designed similiar to mouse puzzle. All flats walls and barriers. The cinematic scenes are amazing/engrossing however they are constantly interrupting by low qualitity "avi" movies.
I am not really picky about 3D but a game needs either design/cinematic/immersion/beauty to be an amazing 3D game. I wrote about why I didnt find it amazing on my blog but everyone's opinion is different so if you don't agree don't worry about it.

I just goes to show that we all have our different taste in 3D and on top of that what works for someone on one type of rig doesn't always work for others on another type of rig. What works on 24" - 27" monitors doesn't always work the same as on a 40", 65", 83" TV or even larger projection screens.

I checked out the helix mod and has helped with the lighting on DS3. Thank you everyone who has helped further my knowledge in the 3D dept. Games and movies are now much better.

I haven't played Max Payne 3 in 3D, but I imagine that the Favela level would look absolutely stunning. Did you get that far in the game? There are many moments in that level when you're on a hill and/or on rooftops, and the view in front of you is huge, and very complex and intricate.
The stadium level would probably benefit a lot from 3D too
