How do I play 3D video on a 3D projector?
Hi,

I have a Palit GTS 450 graphics card and a Dell 1610HD projector. I konw that the card is 3D capable an on the Dell web site it says that the projector is 3D enabled. The problem is I can't send a 120Hz signal to the projector via HDMI cable to enable the 3D display option. Do I need the 3D Vision kit with the goggles and the trans miter to activate the 3DVision option?
I want to to make sure that I can play 3D video on the projector before I buy the 3D Vision kit.

Thanks.

I don't know what "3D - Enabled" means, but it's certainly not stereoscopic 3D. If it can't do 120Hz, it won't work. Sorry to say you won't be doing 3D with this projector /confused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Hope that doesn't prevent you from enjoying 3D someday soon, though!

Thanks for the reply,
In the projector specs it says "To activate 3D Display function, ensure that 3D goggles, 3D video contents and 60Hz/120Hz signal output graphic card supported on PC/NB are ready."
So I have the graphics card, but do I need the goggles to activate the 120Hz signal? I know that I will see a blurry picture without them, but first I want to check to see if the projector is really able to show a 3D picture. The problem with this projector is that the 3D display menu only shows when connected to a certain input, and when it is connected to a HDMI it's hidden. The manual has nothing on this and I called the vendor that sold me this "3D" projector and they say that they don't know what "a 3D projector is"!!!!
So I could really need some help.
I've also posted on the Dell forum but no word yet.

Thanks
