have you adjusted the game resolution and refresh rate???
you must set the game resoution to 1920x1080 and the refreshrate to 120hz (or 119hz)
that will probably work.
[/quote]
The game resolution is set in the game options at 1920 x 1080 but I can see no option on the game to set the refresh rate? Is there anywhere in the game options or elsewhere where I can set this?

Sonica, change the game resolution to 1280x720.....some games runs at 60hz even if you change the desktop resolution/refresh to 1080p/24hz (you're using 3dtv play?)

Maybe what you can try, is go to the Nvidia control panel on the Test 3D settings button, (that fullscreen Nvidia logo floating around) select 1920x1080x120hz and click on the set this resolution to all progams. well my rayman origins was already working like that;

Thanks eqzitara. I've looked at Portal 2 and am not too worried about it being too adult in terms of too much sex, violence etc just that a seven year old is going to get bored solving puzzles on there pretty quickly (given they are going to be too complicated for him) and move on. Is that what you meant by too "adult"?
He's not a big Sonic fan gotta say. Could try dungeon defenders but that seems a bit boring for a 7 year old tbh. Might try toy story. What I would really like is a shooter with no foul language and not too much blood either.

Don't quote me on this but Serious Sam 3 BFE. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHDYi71Bjag You can change blood options. In its rating it just lists Mature: Blood and gore.... So I guess its safe.
Violence isnt excessive in Half life 2 Episode 1/2(that I remember), and no cursing.
However past that is kind of bleak tbh. The shooter crowd definetly likes their violence and cursing.

My older son is eight, and he just loves dungeon defenders! You might want to give it a try. It's pretty easy to pick up and play. He was also able to solve quite a few rooms in Portal as well. Not all of them yet, but I can tell it helps him to think a bit more abstractly. (if that's a word :^)

Is that what you meant by too "adult"?
He's not a big Sonic fan gotta say. Could try dungeon defenders but that seems a bit boring for a 7 year old tbh. Might try toy story. What I would really like is a shooter with no foul language and not too much blood either.

Thanks eqzitara. I've looked at Portal 2 and am not too worried about it being too adult in terms of too much sex, violence etc just that a seven year old is going to get bored solving puzzles on there pretty quickly (given they are going to be too complicated for him) and move on.
