Batman Arkham Origins
  1 / 2
A while back someone mentioned they intended to post a topic in the official forums about asking for 3D Vision support, but I haven't been able to find any such thread there. Anyone heard anything about the possibility of this being 3D Vision ready like the previous two titles? I'm thinking that now is the time to start asking for it. (I would start a thread there myself, but it seems like the design of the forum is horrendous - I know I've registered there a couple years ago, but I can't even figure out how to log on, let alone start something).

Its warner bros now not sure if you knew. EDIT:NM... I just looked at there site. You know. Odds are good because they are trying to pump this game out before next generation [so they can use same engine/features]. It doesnt hurt to bang the hammer down on the nail a few times though [Post in dev forums]. Hopefully nvidia doesnt screw this up and not sponsor them. Seriously, all the stuff is in place from last 2 games. Don't piss them off and make them go AMD. UE3 can have nvidia support of features like PHYSX, 3D VISION, TESSELATION. But if they revamp it in case of Bioshock Infinite[I have no idea how much money AMD threw at them or how little nvidia offered].. Does not bode well for us.

Yeah eqzitara, it looks like they simply merged the forums together, so as far as that goes, it's still all under one roof. It irritates me when they do that sort of thing. I feel like the chances are good as well, so I'm not freaking out about it, but being that it's a new developer you never know. It would be a crying shame to not be able to play in 3D after the 3D perfection of the first two games, ya know?

Am I the only one with a bad feeling about Origins? Switching studios[Did they even make games?], trying to get a new game out before new consoles come out. Like graphics who cares imo. It just feels like they are trying to squeeze as little money into this game as possible in shortest time available.

I am following this game more closely than anyone else on this forum because I am the ultimate Batman fan, and Arkham City is my most favorite adventure game of all time. The developers really seem to be taking this game seriously, and they have revealed some great ideas with it so far. The game has been in development for a while, it's just been under wraps for about a year. There is an unconfirmed rumor (based on some retailer listings) that the game will be ported to the new consoles. It looks as though there will be two Batman series games being released alternately, sort of like Assassin's Creed series. One series will be developed by Rocksteady, while the other one by WB Montreal. As for the argument that it'll be rubbish because the developer has no experience (They've produced two or three Lego video games and handled the port of Batman Arkham City on the Wii), well... the same was said about Rocksteady when they were making the first Batman game (their second game overall) and look how that turned out. .... I have high hopes for this one. Those hopes might be horribly dashed against stormy rocks, but seriously, if you actually look into the info out there so far, it looks like it might be better than the first two.

I apoligize, I didnt look into their resume. I see Warner Bros, and my mind blanks. They did do Lego Batman 2/ Lego city undercover both of which I was impressed with. But I am still a bit eery on the amount of production time this studio has with game. I haven't actively explored forums but I am very involved in gaming news/articles and the information has been very limited. *shrug* I guess we will both see at least a glimpse of it soon, E3 is right around corner. If it doent even have a playable demo I'd be worried [I kind of doubt it won't]. BTW, I know it sounds strange. Since you are a big fan of Arkham. Should check out Batman Lego 2. Great game and 3D. I know its "dumbed down" compared to AC. Might be surprised. I continually try the lego games and always drop them but it was only one I beat and I thought it was great.

No apologies needed man - It's not like I took anything personal Lol. But I was just saying that the game has been in development for quite a while and has been kept under wraps. Warner Brothers bought a majority stake in Rocksteady immediately after the release of Arkham City, and presumably set WB Montreal to work on Origins soon after. So don't let the time frame fool you. They are using Rocksteady's resources with the U3 engine, so that has streamlined the process quite a bit. But this doesn't look anything like glorified DLC. From the character designs I've seen so far they look phenomenal - better than Rocksteady's. And yeah, there's supposed to be a playable demo at E3. As for the Lego Batman, I owned and played the first one before I got a 3D vision kit. It was good fun, but like you, I didn't finish it. I'll have to check out the second one sounds like. BTW, does the first Lego Batman work with 3D Vision? I know some of the Lego games don't, but that would be good motive to finish it someday.

Warner Bros have gone from strength to strength with their Batman films, so I don't think they'd be in a rush to make a cheap and nasty cash-in that ruins all the goodwill the franchise currently enjoys. The gameplay, engine and open-world systems are all very ironed out, and are pretty downright excellent already. Hopefully this will let the team focus on the creative aspects of the new game.

Long trailer was leaked yesterday afternoon, then removed, but now it's back up. Looks great. Playable demo supposed to be presented today.

Looking like not much will have changed from Arkham City, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, and it does look interesting.
