Glasses lens flicker
Currently, I'm testing a number of older titles such as Deus Ex and Morrowind with a Geforce G210 on a dual-core Celeron. I want to ensure a relatively good 3D Vision experience with less demanding titles before I spend $900 on a GTX480 Fermi and other hardware to upgrade my 3D Vision gaming rig. So far, it's working out great except for one problem: the right lens will start to flicker after several minutes of gameplay. By "flicker" I mean that the right lens of the glasses suddenly lights up - or rather fails to darken - for a split second, then does the same thing 10 seconds later, then every 10 seconds after that at a constant rate. It gets annoying very quickly.

I doubt this is caused by defective glasses since it doesn't happen consistently and it never happens with the NVidia Control Panel Stereoscopic 3D Test, nor with 3D pictures or movies. Also, the LED next to the power button on the glasses is solid green, so it shouldn't be a battery issue. Maybe it simply is my low-power, low-performance G210 video card failing to transmit the visual data to the glasses in time. Or, maybe the Celeron is tapped out while driving both the game and the 3D Vision USB transmitter at the same time. Any ideas? I can't be the only user who's noticed this, and yet a search for "glasses flicker" turned up nada.

Thanks, Dogor.

Mods / Admins / Tech Support: please provide guidance! Is this a hardware bug, or can this be fixed with a driver update? Is there an NVidia support e-mail alias to which I should address this issue?
Thanks, Dogor.

Have you tried a few things..?
..like lowering your frequency,or removing certain software...,deleting and then reinstalling drivers..things like that.

Frequency *should* be at 120Hz, so no, lowering wouldn't make sense. What "certain software" could be causing the glasses to flicker? I'm using the latest drivers and verified same before posting.

Do you have more focused and informed advice? You come across as letting the NVidia dev and support team off the hook by throwing out random ideas that may or may not be related to the issue that I actually described. Plus, someone else reported the issue, so let's encourage NVidia to *fix* the bugs.

They ask during setup if you have flicker. Check yes and select a new refresh rate.

This never happens during 3D Vision setup, nor during the stereoscope 3D spinning-logo test.

I'd at least give a new pair of glasses a try. At leas if you bought them from a local store and can return them.

I finally discovered the cause: broken line-of-sight between the glasses as the USB emitter. When some solid object (e.g. the monitor) partially interrupts the (infrared?) connection between the glasses and the emitter, then the glasses flicker.
