I'm totally agree with you Helifax....this game is AWESOME!! and the fix make this game shine even more. Great fix DJ-RK!! Thanks!
This is my favorite game ever!!
I wrote before this is the first REAL "next gen" game i play (IMO)...not because of the story, the refreshing gameplay or the way they told this amazing story (that add A LOT!!!!)....is because all the elements that this game have:
- Great lightning and shadows effects
- Great physics (the game use this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Molecular_Matter)
- Enviroments are amazing...full of detail and content. some chapters almost all the enviroment is changing.
- Movement of the characteres, face capture and gesture is fantastic.....and you have the same actors in real life
Guys, anybody else experiences frequent crashes?
Yeah, I do. At first I was concerned it was related to the fix, possibly a bad shader, but due to others not reporting the issue I think it's something more to do with the game itself. Unfortunately I do not have a solution either, but at least wanted to let you know you're not alone on that.
Sounds great, thx for fixing this game.

Haven't posted it to the blog because I was hoping to fix up a couple remaining issues, but I'll probably be posting it either later on today or tomorrow.

Sure,
Windows 10 + Anniversary Update
3D Surround (3840x720) - Running at around 40 FPS or so, in 3D.
SLI disabled (via NVInspector) so only one GPU is running. SLI is completely broken and induces lots of broken rendering.
Everything maxed
Upscaling OFF
Vsync ON
Antialiasing OFF
And that's about it. (I am still on 372.90 - I was lazy to update the driver).
No other overrides in NVPanel.
Don't know how much it helps, but there you have it;) Maybe it helps you figure it out;)

Hi DJ-RK:)
I made a couple of trial and error tests and found out the following:
At 0.5 convergence the value for the lights (y1) is 0.008 (0.004 for Surround).
At any other convergence values for example 1.2 is:
1.2 * 0.008 / 0.5 = 0.0192
5.0 * 0.008 / 0.5 = 0.0333
And so on. I bet you can update the shaders with this formula;) It will remove the need to have it in the INI files as a toggle.
This was run at 100% separation. Don't know if separation influences it or not, but it shouldn't have to;)
I made a quick toggle for myself:
[Key7]
Key = vk_F1
Type = cycle
convergence = 0.5, 1.2
y1 = 0.008, 0.0192
That allows me to change both the convergence to what I use and fix the lights as well between convergences;)
Hope this helps;)

Ahhh, yeah, I never ended up testing the effect of convergence on my volumetric lighting formula, and have been running at 1 convergence this whole time, and part of my formula was separation * convergence (aka push to infinity), but when convergence is at 1 then it's essentially really just separation at that point... so anyways, I now realized that increasing convergence does break the approx fix, and I've retweaked my formula to now account for convergence. I'm pretty pleased with the results, seems pretty darn accurate! I'll also need to add a convergence toggle button now because I left my convergence at 1 for the sake of cutscenes, but man does this game ever look good with the convergence cranked (which is normally the first thing I do on a game, so I'm a bit shocked I left it this long here). Anyways, thanks for reminding me to tackle these things, definitely a major improvement.

Do you mean, that SLI is enabled in nVidia Control Panel, but disabled ONLY for Quantum Break? If so, could you please share how to disable SLI for single game via NVInspector? I've tried disabling it for QB in nVidia Control Panel, but it still has all the troubles. So I was forced to disable SLI altogether, and that's very inconvenient :) Thanks!

Fix is looking great.
This game seems very CPU heavy. I'm running an i7 3770K@4.5 with a single GTX 1080 and still get frame rate drops as low as 40 even at 720p. In fact resolution makes hardly any difference as my GPU runs around 50-60% whilst most/all CPU threads are in the 90%+ range.

Just beat the game earlier this evening, added a few final tweaks to the fix and finally posted it to the blog. It is recommended that anyone still playing / yet to play this game uninstall any WIP versions and install the official release version.
