Avatar: The Game (3D Vertical split screen)
Hey guys,

I recently purchased a Samsung 55" series 7 3D LCD TV & am anxiously awaiting the 3DTV Software next month. In the meantime, the good folks over at Ubisoft have created Avatar which allows me to to get a taste of what 3D has to offer before I experience the full blown 3D vision experience - and I have to say it's MIND BLOWING. Those that say 3D is nothing but a gimmick are kidding themselves - sure, it's currently an expensive entry price to do things properly since consoles just don't have the power, but boy, when you build a rig that can pump out what's needed...I'm speechless! But I digress...

Back to Avatar; I've noticed that while in-game everything is crisp and very three dimensional, however the real-time cinematics are very ghosted, and while still 3D, pale in comparison to the in-game content. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this with Avatar? Is there a solution? I'm not sure if it's the subtitling that's causing the problem or what, but I'd love for these cut-scenes to look as nice as the in-game does.

I'm running 2 x 480GTXs with an i7 OC'd to 4GHz under windows 7 Professional output to the Samsung via HDMI @ 1080p in vertical split screen.

On a side note, I've really enjoyed reading the comments on this board - I just can't believe 3D is as amazing as it is!

Thanks for reading!

Hi all! I finally got my gaming rig, and thought I'd post this in an Avatr related thread, 'cos I have some slight issues with the game. Up close and personal, everything is sweet - the graphics are crisp and the 3D is superb. I have it set about the halfway mark for depth.

The problem I am having are the moutains in the far distance - I'm seeing two of each when I look at them. It won't go away. I can't figure out what's happening. Can anyone help please?

Hey there! What do you have your 'distance from TV' set to? I find that the greater the distance set, the clearer the objects in the distance become. For example, I sit about 7feet away from my 55" Samsung, but get ghosting in the background (as you've described) at this distance. But when I set the distance to 14feet, the image near and far, becomes perfect. Try playing around with that setting. The 3D effect is still great, and can be compensated somewhat by increasing the depth setting again to. I have mine on 1.35.

Good luck!
